We love having all the space when we go to sporting events or travel out of town. We can also put our luggage on the back of the truck. And our dog loves riding on the back. However, its not a 4 wheel drive. We like to go fishing and when its muddy we cant go due to the fact we might get stuck.

Regardless of the Chrysler vehicle, whether it be Dodge Journey, Caliber, SRT Charger, Challenger, Magnum, Dakotas, Stratus, (on my second Hemi Ram), I know people that own/have owned all the above-mentioned vehicles, and besides regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues whatsoever. I myself have owned 2 Rams, and again, NO mechanical issues whatsoever. The only issues Ive had has actually been with cosmetic stuff added to the truck by the dealership after delivery from the factory. The side step bumpers and brackets rusted, and the powder coating was peeling off after only 2200 miles. One Rumble Bee sticker on the box had to be replaced as it was starting to bubble. I took the mud flaps off the dealer put on as they were literally flapping in the wind, rubbing the paint. Oh yes, the radio would have a mind of its own, would sometimes stick on maximum volume, wouldnt shut off, couldnt change stations, nothing. And sometimes wouldnt even turn on. Chrysler had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. Guess what, my Dads friends 2016 Honda Civic (yes Honda) had the exact same problem. The dealership had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. (Yes, a Honda Civic.) Anyone Ive known. Family members as well, anyone Ive known who have had Chrysler vehicles have never had any mechanical issues at all. Just regular maintenance.A buddy of mine, his Magnum went 215,000 miles zero problems. Heck, never even replaced the battery. My first Ram truck went 173,000 miles. Except regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues.Broken exhaust manifold bolts was the only what I considered major issue. (Even though the repair was only $378, taxes in, Canadian dollars to boot as Im in Canada) And the place I had the work done, they told me Chrysler AND GM trucks are prone to exhaust manifold bolts breaking. The service manager told me they do probably 1 a week from both GM and Chrysler. My nephew bought a new Ford Fusion. Sooner rather than later he traded it in, guess what, he was having electrical issues with it. And he thought, before it gets any worse, and runs out of warranty, trade it in. My girlfriends 2012 Mazda (yes Mazda), the torque converter quit on her 2x. Leaving her literally stranded, again, yes Mazda. Japanese. I worked with a guy who had a Miata, THE biggest pile of junk he said he had ever owned. Nothing but problems with it. Guess what people, even the Japanese can make crap vehicles.

I have a 1993 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins engine. This truck is a Club Cab 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I rebuilt the transmission at 328,000 miles and the truck now has 356,000 miles with the original motor and running gear. I change my fluids often and have no issues whatsoever. Every option from the cold AC and cruise control to the rear view camera that I added work perfectly. This truck consistently gets 18mpg which is better than most 3/4 ton 4x4 pickups on the road. I get compliments everywhere I go from people driving newer vehicles, many of them making payments while theyre constantly taking it to the dealer for repairs. I would not hesitate to drive my truck anywhere, anytime.If you are tired of paying $40k, $50k or $60k for a new truck that just creates headaches, consider getting a real truck from the 1990s when the big 3 were in competition with each other as to who could build the best truck on the road. Unfortunately today they are only competing for profit at the expense of making cheaply built vehicles carrying over inflated price tags.

We currently have 13 Dodge Ram vehicles with the oldest a 2014; which is our entire fleet. Between the 13-Dodges we now have 50-recalls. For us to decommission a vehicle for a couple of days so the recall can be completed requires a lot of work; costly for us. We must move our crews out of the truck, rent a truck, interrupt our workday, pay overtime, create problems for our client, deal with issues created with USDOT, and on and on which all relates to us losing revenue for our company.For a small business to have to go through this difficulty for 50-recalls; up to 50-times; let alone all the service problems and mechanical failures with these vehicles, they are extremely excessive and costly to us. We have completed 43 of the 50 recalls to date. Costs are mounting and the recalls keep coming; one at a time. What are they building at Chrysler? What inferior components are they using that creates these recalls and dissatisfied customers like us?We have called FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) to discuss and to talk with a supervisor but they are proving very difficult to get hold of. They have only returned one of my calls that was not able to be answered; the message was; that they simply say who they are but they leave no contact information. Calling back to the main number only gets us to the basic apologies and they will only take a message for the supervisor; they say that the supervisor has no direct contact number or email; we (ironically) wonder why. They say that the Supervisor will call back in 1-business day; that is not happening. In the past, we loved Dodge Ram; but not anymore. We are currently and actively searching for a new brand; NOT DODGE. We need to replace three trucks this year plus add one more to our fleet.

I bought a 2006 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the Hemi in December 2005. I loved the truck for its looks, comfort, power and performance. I do not work the truck, except to plow my own 500 ft. driveway and to tow a 10 ft. enclosed motorcycle trailer to trade shows about 9 times a year, all under 200 miles each way. Other than that, it is used to commute to my shop, or for enjoyment, hunting etc. All was pretty good with it for the first 18K miles. Then the rear end went, with a bang. It went again about 20K later. The fuel pump, 5 injectors, 4 coils, all spark plug wires, intake manifold gaskets, and the catalytic converter went bad. Two O2 sensors, the headlight dimmer switch, the ignition switch and the body control computer failed. Both upper and lower ball joints on both sides had to be replaced along with the tie rod ends. Both right and left front axle u-joints failed along with the front drive shaft u-joints. The rear drive shaft u-joints failed.... 4 times EACH. The tail light electrical harness failed. The hood latch broke twice. The tailgate latch failed after 150 miles, causing the gate to fall open and dent itself on the trailer we were hauling. The e-brake failed. All four rotors rotted away, and 2 calipers failed. The front axle bearings failed. The bolts holding the left exhaust manifold rotted away, TWICE. The right hand manifold bolts failed once. The left side headlight harness failed. The catalytic converter failed again. The transmission shift control malfunctioned. The muffler rotted out. The tailpipe fell off. The oil pan rusted through. The air conditioning blender doors broke twice..... $1000 each time. The serpentine belt tensioner fell off. The anti-lock brake controller failed. The left side of the pickup box rusted through above the wheel well. The sliding rear window leaked from day one. The headlight switch broke. The body control computer failed a second time. The check engine light came on for a total of at LEAST 40 times, and was checked, reset, fixes made and turned off each time. AND, that was only after I only started counting after the first year. AND, all of this took place in 62,000 miles. The truck cost me $8500 out of pocket for the last year I owned it. After 62K miles, I FINALLY got rid of it. And, I am NOT hard on my truck. I have another vehicle for work. THIS one was for pleasure. It received proper maintenance and service, and still was a POS. NEVER buying Dodge again, and this was the fourth I had........ NEVER again.

When the Dodge dealer is asked to remove the integrated brake controller from the vehicle computer system all you get is cant. This of course is BS and is clearly stated on all the Dodge forums as being possible. So why should it be impossible to get a dealer to fix your truck?? Lack of caring is how I put it and hence why Dodge gets the lowest ratings.

This last time I was told they could not duplicate the problem. What a sorry excuse. The second time I was in their garage they could hear it and sprayed the brake pedal with some kind of lubricant that lasted for approximately 2 weeks, then the squeak came right back! There is a problem with the CD player, it skips towards the end of the CD songs - it rattles, and if you hit a bump, it ejects the playing CD. The mechanic claimed he could not duplicate this problem as well.So I asked Micheal (one of the service order writers) to get in the truck with me and I put in a CD less than a month old and showed him how it starts skipping towards the end of the CD. He claimed he heard it skipping, which of course it was. I am so tired of these people thinking I will just go away and live with the problems my new truck has... I guess! Ive had the truck 6 months and it has a little over 8,000 miles on it. These 2 problems I have with the truck since the first day I drove it home. At this point in time, I no longer want them to fix the CD player. I want a brand new one! I dont think they know how to fix it since the problem is still there 6 months later! I sure hope you can help me.

They had the truck for 5 days, said it was fixed and ready for pick up. So I took truck for ride, same issue as when it went in. Then the manager said he brought three trucks out and they all have the same wind noise. I told him then they should tell the buyer before they spend 60.000 for a truck that theyre buying a truck that is not very well sealed. Not impressed because I just traded in my 2013 with no wind noise whatsoever with 160.000 kms on it. Nobody wants to help. RAM JUNK, POOR QUALITY VEHICLE. Bumper to bumper warranty ya right. They write reviews that they are as quiet as a luxury car. Thats false advertisement.

Repeated failures with the ventilation system. Everyone I know who has a 2003 or newer Ram has had the same problems. Dodge knew the systems would fail but DID NOTHING to improve them. If you have the dealer fix the problems, it WILL happen again because they use the same cheap parts. Because it is so time consuming to fix the problem, labor will cost you at least $1,000. It doesnt matter if you have it fixed under warranty because the system will again and again as long as the same parts are used. I have spent over 30 hours removing the entire dash, including steering wheel, instrument panel, passenger airbag, glove box, climate control panel, radio, etc., etc. to fix the problem myself. The only permanent solution is to replace the crappy doors located inside the ventilation ducts. I cannot even begin to describe how difficult it is attempting to access these areas and if you dont have a modicum of mechanical aptitude, forget it. Dodge used these same cheap parts in a lot of vehicles, including Jeep Grand Cherokees. Absolute crap.

Brought truck in for its first tire rotation and the mechanic asked if I had been in an accident as the entire truck bed is nearly 2” out of alignment (shifted to the left) with the front cab! Radio, navigation system, AND hands-free phone system all started to glitch at 48, 000 miles. Would cost over $700 to replace. The body looks beautiful, but dents much easier than ANY of my trucks... I’ve owned GMC and FORD prior to purchasing my RAM. Very frustrated with all the service issues and not having a navigation system that was quite pricey!

I had wiring checked, bulbs and all checked out ok. I took to shop and found that fuse box had shorted out computer. So instead of blowing the fuse it shorted everything out, it was replaced and all worked well. Well, last summer my air conditioner went out. Again instead of just blowing fuse the computer shorted out again. Same shop, same story. I replaced it and all worked well. Now last week my air conditioner failed to cool, it is in the shop and Im hoping the fuse box has not shorted out again. The dealer told me it was a wire harness problem the first time I didnt hear from them the second time. Just wondering if this is a common problem. Paying 600 dollars for a new board is not my idea of a good product. Can someone help me?

The speed of the truck was just over 50mph when it began to flip. At the end, the truck was sitting in the middle of the road on its roof, without a single airbag deployment. Regardless of FCAs comments, I think being the driver, I was in a much better position to dispute the seatbelt slack or tensioner. I wasnt driving leaning over the steering wheel, but somehow, with the seatbelt on, my chest slammed into it. If it did lock at any point, it was well after the point it should have. At the end, I was fully turned sideways in the seat, upside down, with over a foot between myself and the seat. Locking after the slack comes out doesnt constitute it working to me.Public - be aware - FCA has claimed that the vehicle decides when to deploy airbags in a rollover event. (Note: - in their response, they do not specify these tolerance levels of course). Ill attach pictures showing the damage to the outside of the truck, along with the inside showing no airbag deployment. I will also paste FCAs direct comments. Look at the pictures. Imagine yourself or your loved ones in that vehicle. Then read the FCA comments. If after all that, you feel that there still is no need for airbag deployment, then go ahead and buy one. For those that believe they should have deployed - please get the word out.For full disclosure - I did buy another 2500 myself. I was, until I received the FCA email an hour ago, a loyal RAM buyer. I bought the new truck 2 weeks ago with the hopes that FCA would have told me a sensor was bad, wire disconnected, or something that pointed to a failure. I never, in my wildest dreams, would have thought that something as violent as I went thru, did not warrant airbag deployment. (Also, it took about a month before they could get the vehicle inspected and respond back. Every call to them was a standard response - you will hear back from someone in 1-2 business days.) I will be pleading with the dealer to take the truck back. Personally, I could not in good conscience put another person in that vehicle, fully knowing that in the same situation the air bags would not deploy.FCA comments: We have had the opportunity to review the results of our inspection, and must advise you we believe the air bag system operated properly, and as designed in this incident. Your Ram is equipped with a passive safety restraint system that consists of Seat Belt Tensioners (SBT), Side Curtain Air Bags, Side Seat Airbags, and driver and passenger Front Air Bags. The SBTs actuate to remove slack in the seat belts to snug the occupant into the seat at the onset of an accident. The Air Bag Control Module uses a roll rate sensor to determine the severity of a rollover event, and the appropriate response, activate the SBTs alone, or activate the SBTs in conjunction with the appropriate Air Bags. If the SBTs are sufficient to provide protection, then the air bag deployment is not merited. In your accident it was determined that only the seat belt tensioner deployment was necessary.

From the start I started having problems and the truck has left me on the side of the road more than once. It start with front drive shaft going out. Manual says to grease the u-joints but the shaft has no inserices to put grease in, this was $500.00 dollars to fix. Next the transmission went out. This was 2.300.00 dollars. Next the front headlights stop working, this was $150.00. Now the hydro-brake-booster has gone out, the bolts that hold brake fluid to the booster (which two) both broke in middle of the bolts. This separated booster letting fluid out losing all brakes. I am still waiting on the part because it was a special order, and the air-conditioner valves in desk is starting to give problems.

Last week we were lied to by both Jon & Tim about what was wrong with it (saying it was the rear overrunning gear) and that parts had been ordered. On Monday this week Jon called and said that no parts have been ordered, in fact our transmission had not been taken apart or touched all last week. On Tuesday this week Jon called my husband and said now they believe it to be a seal in the transmission and have ordered parts but it will now be next week for them to come in. He then turned around and called me and said some parts had been ordered but some were on back order and he did not know when they would come in. This truck is not only our personal truck (we tow our camper with this for our son’s travel ball tournaments) but it is also my husbands company truck (we own Marsh Lawn Care). We need it back or answers. We only have had it since April 27. We bought it brand new from Cary Auto Mall. We called them on June 14 to see if they could help us since we had just bought it and were told “why would we help you, we are not reaping the benefits of the warranty work”. I think all Dodge Ram consumers should know how poorly the new trucks are built & how little help warranty company is in getting them back to you in a reasonable timeframe.

Unfortunately they have not been able to complete my repair due to the extreme back order on the part. I own a 2007 Dodge Ram Laramie and the clockspring has been on back order since at least July. Chrysler has only been able to give me a release date they acquired from my repair shop. I called them to submit a complaint and their method of verifying the information was calling my repair shop. I felt that by calling the direct manufacturer Mopar Chrysler they would provide me with a solution. Instead they cannot confirm when parts are going to be available since there are so many request ahead of me, 186 to be exact. They further explained there could be a wait for over 18 months. Until then I have no vehicle, and it is my burden to carry because there was a repair needed where a part is not available. I asked for rental car options and they declined any type of remediation. I understand that we are responsible for repairs as a consumer, but when there is not even an option to complete a repair what am I left to do? Its been 6 months, and now I am definitely out of patience. I am extremely disappointed in Chrysler Ram at this time. I have been a loyal customer with 4 vehicles purchased from the brand in the past 10 years. Not what I expected from a national US automotive company.

It is now March 11, 2020 and I still do not have a vehicle. The corporate employees I have had to deal with told me things like, they have an unlimited amount of time to decide what to do. They dont return calls in a timely manner. They are trying to get me to take another truck and charge me more, because the special that was running at the time I bought the original truck isnt applicable now. They have offered to trade vehicles for weeks, but havent agreed to a meeting time to arrange for it. I have been paying insurance and payments for a vehicle I dont have and they havent offered to reimburse me for the insurance. I posted on Dealer Rater and BBB in January and it was the only thing that got their attention, so here I am again, hoping to get this settled and, to be honest, I dont want anything to do with Dodge/Chrysler anymore at this point. I just want my money back so I can go elsewhere and purchase a vehicle that works from a dealer that cares. Oh, and the real kicker is that I have since found out that the problem with this model has been known for over four years, the parts to fix it are hard to get and one service tech said he is surprised by one of these vehicles lasting 10,000 miles before the failure occurs. Yet, they are still selling the vehicles. If they are out of warranty when the problem occurs, it costs over $7000 to fix it.

Every time I wash it, which is usually once a week, I thoroughly sponge wash the interior of all wheel wells. Now I started noticing bubbles in the paint over the rear wheel wells. While at the dealership for a tie rod recall I had the service manager at Hoffman Chrysler/Dodge, Hagerstown, MD looked at the rust development. He agreed that as clean as the truck is kept that it should not be rusting. He gave me an (800) number for Chrysler and said I could even offer his name for verification. I called and they made me feel foolish for even calling. Actually told me he shouldnt have given me the number and that it wasnt something they were responsible for. In my opinion Chrysler knows they have a manufacturing problem for 1000s of their trucks to be rusting out in the same areas in such a short time. I love the truck but could never purchase another Dodge. None of my Fords or Chevys ever rusted out in 5 years. By the way, I was notified of the tie rod recall and it took 10 months for Chrysler to get the parts to the dealership for replacement. They were sending them one at a time and there were lots of owners on the list for the recall just at my dealer alone. You pay a lot of money for these Diesel trucks and once you drive away they act like its not a problem for them to rust away in 5 years. :-(

A short period later, like a month, I noticed that the factory paint had a bunch of tiny bubbles in it which looked like pink dots. I took it to a few body shops in my area and 4 out of 5 called it solvent pop. They all said it was a Dodge/Chrysler issue. After speaking to Jamie **, who never returned a phone call to me, they said, No, sorry, but we cant help. Then they followed it with a because I am the second owner.” **! I decided to get it painted myself, so I have it for my spring and summer shows. The cost of a factory color paint job was $9,000-$10,000. A custom two-tone paint job was $11,000-$12,000. So I said screw it and went custom. It’s almost finished. I then spoke with two other Ram specialists (as they call themselves) Marylou and Matt and then they told me that if I would have waited, they could have help. And if I went to a Dodge/Chrysler certified body shop, they could have done something to help me. After hearing this, I flipped out. Why wouldnt they tell me this from the beginning? Why couldnt they have told me this from the start? I also told them I would be happy splitting the cost 50/50, but they said no. So now I am looking to get the entire cost of the factory paint work, as they should give me for all this ** grief.I am still fighting with them about this. Nobody from Dodge/Chrysler other than the dealership owner that I get it serviced at has seen it. I sent photos to Jamie ** and had to send a nasty and a bit personal email to get a response. Within 3 hours, I had a response and I was provided a survey to rate the service. With the truck only being only 5 months old from delivery and with it only having a few over 6,000 miles I noticed that the back seat area of the truck was soaked and water logged. After inspection I realized that the truck was leaking water into the cabin from the outside along with evidence of rusting in the area along with other metal parts inside the cabin of the truck not adjacent to that area.I reported it to Ram customer service in Twitter as well as to the dealer. Their response was to bring the vehicle back next Monday when the water leak guy would be there... (This was a Wednesday.) I was also told that this was only a minor inconvenience and not a big deal as well as I was advised to turn the heater on in the vehicle and let it run under the sun. On Friday I decided I was not going to wait until Friday and I brought the truck to the dealer. The service agent essentially told me they would do a clean up, let it dry, fix the leak and get it back to me in no time! I did not accept this and I escalated to Ram customer service and was took that they would be replacing the headliner, the backseat, the carpet, underlining and all rusted parts!I received my truck today (25 days after it was dropped off at the dealer) and the dealer told me the back window had been re-sealed as this was leaky, the third tail light had been rescaled as this was also leaky, that a new seat had been installed, a new headliner has been installed, the carpeting had been replaced and all rusted parts had been replaced. They said they inspected it and it looked good! They also delivered the truck to me filthy as it could be (outside) - spider webs and grime everywhere.I arrived home and inspected the vehicle closer, the back seat was not replaced (although they said so and the paperwork they gave says so, there is wear and tear on the truck from the car seat latches which were there before I brought the truck in and there is still rust on the frame of the seat). There is rust in many places in the truck (caused by evaporation and condensation taking place inside the truck since the truck left the manufacturing line). So I cannot trust that anything else they have said and have formally communicated on paper is true... I have continuously asked Ram customer service to repurchase or replace the vehicle because it is compromised. I bought a defective vehicle for the second time. I have been deceived and lied to and I am still stuck in a truck which was damaged and defective at the time of purchase unbeknownst to me.

However what would come to happen over the next five years was completely ridiculous. After having the truck for 6 months my shift solenoid went out. No big deal covered under warranty. After the repair and 2 months later I had major rear end problems. Still no big deal, warranty covered it and my rear end was rebuilt. Almost all new guts for the rear end differential were replaced. 3 days after the repair I noticed that there was too much slack in the rear-end. When taking off you could hear the rear end engaging and very hard. When shifting gears it was haunting. I took it back to Dodge and they informed me then the warranty was no longer valid and that there was no way their mechanic made a mistake. I had to have a vehicle. So a week after my visit to Dodge as I was driving down the road the gears in the rear end finally had enough. The rear-end locked up and the gears crumbled causing the drive shaft to fall completely out and onto the road. I had to pay for a new rear end rebuild at a different shop that was not affiliated with Dodge. Since then I have had other issues. I have replaced both front hubs. I have had to have the right side manifold fixed. And most recently I replaced a CV axle. While replacing the CV axle I found the shaft within the CV axle was snapped in half. I only use for wheel drive when needed and I keep the maintenance on my truck very well. I operate the 4-wheel drive regular to keep the parts moving and make sure its working. I am now looking at a completely new front end differential. I am very dissatisfied with Dodges service. I am a military member due to move this week and now I have no vehicle and a wife and two daughters. I dont expect anything to be done about this truck and its issues being that its almost 10 years old but take my advice - do not buy a Dodge. I am not the only one that has had problems. They are complete money pits especially once your warranty runs out and Dodge does not want to take responsibility for mistakes that were made at the factory and by supposed certified Dodge mechanics thereafter.

Got it back and transfer case making a binding noise, lights are still on, and front end now pulls to the right... Take it back to them and they have it another week.. Pick it up and the lights come on again.. Ok so now I tell the service guy I need to drive to Colorado 1800 miles. Is the truck safe? He said Yes dont worry about the warning lights. Just have it looked at when you get there. If they stay on... Well Im not a mechanic so I drive it there not realizing that the ABS brakes dont work when those lights are on.. And Im pulling a 24-ft trailer... So I get to Florida take it to the Dodge dealer to get it checked out. The dealer checked out the truck... Come to find out the alignment was done wrong which wore the 2 front tires to the core and they put the wrong chain in the transfer case and used the wrong sealant in the transfer case.. The Dodge dealer in FL was contacted by the Dodge dealer in Colorado and this was brought to their attention. And the spec sheets and repair diagnostic was given to the dealer who incorrectly did the work the first time (Arrigo Dodge WPB). The Colorado Dodge dealer said that the dealer who fixed the truck originally should pay for the repairs.. I contacted them several times even speaking to the owner of the Dodge dealer, getting nowhere.. Now Im out 1500 dollars and that is not right.. Let alone I put my family in danger since the Colorado Dodge dealer said there could have been a bad accident due to the repairs.. I think that the original dealer should be liable for the repairs cost... Thats why we take our truck to the dealership to get worked on by certified mechanic.. To be safe and right... Again Im not a mechanic... Thank God nobody got serious hurt on the road... That would be a law suit waiting to happen...

One month later came out from work to drive the two hour ride home from work - truck wont start, had to wait for tow truck. Now I am at a third dealership with my 68 thousand dollar truck chained down to a tow truck and I repeat the process of explaining the broken seats check engine light def service light tire monitoring needs service radio data system is still broke after the first recall etc. They call me a week later saying it is all fixed...I drove the two hours back making my wife miss work because they wont issue a truck to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Show up and nothing is fixed but they ordered all the parts. The truck starts though but still has broken seats def service by dealer tire pressure monitoring service are all still there. They ordered parts and will call. They told me it was a loose battery connection. I laughed cause that was my first thought as I checked it being I am a local 12 heavy equipment mechanic for the last 18 years and had my service truck right there. They lie cause I was fed up and got the Chrysler resolution team involved, the day I was stranded two hours away from home not returning to my house until 2am 11 hours after my truck wouldnt start and my wife got off work and picked me up. I have owned the truck 7 months and have been to the dealer 7 times - nothing has been fixed, just ordered with no call backs. After this month Im giving it back to the bank and will have a repossession all because Chrysler fiat ram cares nothing about customer service or their disgusting product. To all my union brothers, dont buy a ram or dodge - it will be a disaster you wont ever recover from. Stick with the Rord super duty or Chevrolet, they wont leave you and yours helplessly stranded lost and confused in the dark.

After they were done, the service advisor told me did you do something to the coolant fluid? I said no, why? He replied because is a different color, is black and normally it looks green or pink. I said do you need to look into it? Is it safe to drive? He replied is ok, just make an appointment whenever you have time and bring it back.Drove home and curiosity got to me, popped the hood and surprise, it was not a different color only, there was oil in the coolant reservoir tank. Now, Im not a mechanic but a simple dipping my finger into the coolant showed me that it was oil, lots of it. Took it to a closer dealership Hunter Dodge of Lancaster Ca. As soon as their mechanic popped the hood and saw the coolant reservoir tank he declared it not safe to drive. Now, it has been in there ever since and today is Dec. 10th and still no truck back.

There is a hole in the floor of the van, a mid-weld, the headliner does not meet pastis and is frayed, one recall cant be fixed. No parts and dont know when they will have them. The leaf spring bushings are bad and the van squeaks going down road. So 2 issues are dangerous safety issues. Chrysler will not fix anything. I had a 10 year old Sprinter that I should have kept. The 2005 Ram1500 was purchased new from Spitzer Dodge in Homestead, FL. I noticed when I was waxing it last month, the paint on the drivers door is starting to bubble from internal rust. I wrote and spoke to Dodge. They said they couldnt help me because it was outside the time warranty (5yrs) and referred me to the dealer. The dealer couldnt help me, even though the service manager (Mr. **) agreed it shouldnt be rusting and bubbling. It may be over the time warranty but it only has 58,000 original miles and not a mark on it. No body damage at all. Please warn people that Dodge has not remedied their paint problem from the past and they wont stand behind their product. I am stuck with a $700.00 estimate for a repair that is clearly a factory defect.

The truck currently has just over 36,000 miles on it. During my 13,000 miles of ownership to date, the following has been replaced or repaired on this truck (majority of which were sold to me this way): broken front wheel; air filter with 1/2 inch of dirt; windshield wipers; windshield washer fluid empty; front tie rod end; front coil overs/struts; repaired dent/rust on tail gate (Part of Sales Agreement/I paid a discount); tires; front brakes and rotors; rear brakes and rotors; transmission fluid; trans axle fluid; transfer case fluid; spark plugs; anti-freeze; fuel injectors had to be cleaned so engine would idle properly; gas cap; pressure sensor for gas tank (so check engine light would go out); and serpentine belt. I have an office job and all this truck hauls is a DVD movie and a bag of groceries on occasion. This truck is nothing a but a poorly built pile of junk and a money pit that has taken away from the quality of my life and caused me much stress and anxiety. Never again! I am done with Dodge.

Took it to our dodge dealer (Christophers Dodge) and upon running the computer was told that there was probable a clogged exhaust line and/or valves not working. Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christophers Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. So we ended up paying 2600.00 for the repair and in my opinion will never purchase another Chrysler product since they do not back their vehicles.

So I changed it. Another 3000 mile goes by and I got the same message again, but this time I called my local Dodge Ram dealer (Huntington Beach). They told me that the 7500 mile oil change interval is just an approximation. I also noticed that when I drained the oil (into a 5 gal bucket) I noticed the oil level was abt an inch and a half from the top. The dip stick is hard to see if the oil level is higher than it should be. So I took notice to that, so now after another 3000 miles I took an oil sample via Quinn Cat. and it came back with low oil viscosity with an 8.5% of fuel in the oil. Ive tried to get help via my local Dodge dealership and all I got was No engine light, then we cant do anything. I don’t feel that any of what Ive explained is normal. Is there anything you can do to help. Well I got my truck back from Dodge and they told me that 8.5% fuel dilution is? Normal? I cant believe that. They also said that they did a comprehensive injector test. The only thing that I saw in the paperwork that they gave me was that the tech pulled the valve cover and looked at the injectors and stated he didnt see any leaks. Also the tech smelled in the engine, and it didnt smell of fuel. That, is as far as I can see is their BIG test. Anyway, my VIN is **. My oil change intervals are May 25, 2013, 18700 miles (That’s when I bought the truck), Aug 24, 2013, 22176 miles, Nov 17, 2013, 26659 miles (This is when I pulled over 4 1/2 gallons of oil/fuel mix out of the engine), Jan 21, 2014, 29732 miles (This is when I took the oil sample). Changed oil Mar 24, 2014, 32980 (Oil Sample 9% rule in oil), April 27, 2014 (Oil sample no results yet). Now, Im not the smartest cookie on the planet, but if I get 8.5% & 9% of fuel in the oil at only 3073 mile between oil changes, something is wrong (In my Opinion). Thanks for your time. It shakes and hard to start in morning and also, dont downshift in time, when it needs and the exhaust system rattle under the truck. And after a few seconds (30-40 to be precise) it downshift and truck moves. It also jerks the transmission. Downhill it wont change gears until you get to the bottom of the hill or if I step on gas to give more speed (crazy stuff). Also in reverse it make a pitch noise. Took to dealer a few times already but they keep saying they cant reproduce the problem. I suggest take a ride with mechanics. They denied. They update the software but no changes at all. If you buying a truck get a Toyota at least. It’s well-made.

Put this tarp on your vehicle if the temp drops below -1C or 30 degrees F. Therefore, I paid for a $75,000.00 (tax included) that must have this cover on it in order to drive in cold weather. (I remember 40 yrs ago putting a piece of cardboard in front the radiator of my car to improve the heat, it is now 2015 and nothing seems to have changed.) Otherwise, a warning light comes on then the vehicle goes into limp mode (max speed 30 mph). If this happens I was told to find a warm garage and park the truck in it until it warms up. I can see this happening on a 400 series hwy at 1 am in the morning, and having a huge tracker-trailer drive into me from behind, as I am only limping along trying to find an exit and warm garage. Someone will die from this defect. It is totally unacceptable, incredibly dangerous, and completely irresponsible of Chrysler to hide this defect until you buy the vehicle, then say oh by the way you need this tarp to drive your $75,000.00 truck in the winter. Three hours later they come get me and tell the gas cap was loose, I didnt tighten it correctly. It and check engine code reset, all is good. BTW I did not fill it up the dealership did. Later that same day, have driven my truck 43 miles since purchase, the lights come on again. The next day I return to the dealership and explain my displeasure and disgust. They tell me they need the truck for 4-6 hours to smoke test emissions system for leak which now appeared with loose cap light but they cant provide loaner car which is part of Car-Doc warranty I got with the truck. I schedule appointment for following Wed at 8 am. I took the truck in and set for 3 hours while they test it. The results are no leaks, has to be a loose gas cap, they flashed computer to clear codes, should all be good just be sure to tighten gas cap properly. This set me off, I have been driving for 25 years and surely have tightened a gas cap before as I explained to this young man. I proceeded to my salesman and asked for them to fill my truck up again, since most of my first tank of gas was used going back and forth to have light fixed. They did refill it. As I get on my street the light comes back on for the 4th time. I called back and told them I want it taken in and kept till fixed and I need a loaner for my business. I am told they dont have loaner trucks and I would have to wait on a list for a loaner car!!! I have owned several Dodges and used this dealer 3 times but I am thinking I am done with both. I did this even though many people told me not to due to their experience with problems with owning the truck. Also was told the MPG was far lower than other similar trucks in same weight class. Needless to say I ignored this advice and went ahead and bought it. Now 40,000 miles later and 4 1/2 years I am regretting my purchase. Keep in mind too I am not even pulling a trailer and using it for around town driving. First year I noticed I was getting overall 9 MPG overall which in this day and age is a disgrace. Also the sheet metal is very thin on truck bed. They I guess saved a lot of money here but you will get dent if you lean into in with your clothes. Again no other truck that I have owned does this. Fast forward now to 2014 and the real horror of the lack of quality comes out. In the last two months my window switches and door lock controls on drivers door broke, the gauge that measures outdoor temperature stopped working and the Cup holder broke internally somehow (no outside damage whatsoever just a poorly made device). Well I brought it to Dodge and they see you coming and are trained to hit you hard when you come in the door. Those three little things cost well over 1000 to fix!! Dodge makes parts cheaply and then profits when you come in to fix them. These parts should never break and its criminal IMO when they do break that Dodge hits you so hard to fix them. Also a wire became broken or loose somehow around my license plate and the light wont work. Service tech gleefully calls and says it wont pass inspection without light and says it cost 300 to fix this since access is so hard. I complain. He listens surly just thinking about nothing but his commission or his pay. I took up snow plowing this year in 2015. I have plowed for 15 years with Ford trucks never a problem. That of course all changed here with two hrs into snow plowing with this truck. It became stuck in 4 low and never came out of it till endless attempts. Also I backed into a snowbank muffler clamps and all bent and broke. Again 15 years backing into snowbanks with Ford trucks this never happened. They are reinforced, placed correctly and strong. Not the case with my Dodge - cost I think 500 to fix.This Dodge 2500 is the worst truck have ever owned, its built like a car and they put their heavy duty badge on it for a reason - I have no idea. I will never buy a Dodge truck again nor will anyone in my family or more. I almost did forget when I went to shop for all this serviceman of course tells my transmission fluid and power steering fluid dirty and need to be changed all for another approx 700!! All marked up through the roof, high commissions for service manager? What do you think? I inform him that manual says change transmission fluid at 60k and only if pulling trailer. I am at 42k and no trailer lol. I pass on fluids and get rimmed pretty hard for all else.Really shifty this hole Dodge company.... Oh the line when I pulled up for service was twenty deep.. All SUV, Trucks and cars waiting to be fixed and all looked relatively new too. Big moneymaker for Dodge and Jeep, they build inferior cars and trucks of low quality and profit as us dumb folks parade in to get them fixed. Never again for me!!

Took it in to two different locations in Edmonton and they told me it was fine and nothing was wrong. March 2015, I couldnt drive my jeep any longer. The wobble was so bad I couldnt hold on to the steering wheel and wasnt able to control it.I take it back to Dodge and they told me theyre surprised it hasnt fallen apart. All 4 Fox shocks had to be replaced (only highway driven and 40 000 on) away bar and track bars as well. Then they told me this was REGULAR maintenance. Are you kidding me? It was in the shop for 3 months because they kept ordering the wrong parts. When I got it back they had some reason messed with the steering and the steering wheel was on crooked... Then they told me it wasnt them who did that... They were the last knee to touch my jeep and the steering was fine prior.Now I just took it back today as the abs and traction control lights were on. They told me my brake line was close to breaking so to be careful driving until they could order me one, and that my sensors were gone in my front end. $600 later for labour... I pay and drive away. I make it 1 km down the service road and am driving about 30 km an hour and my abs light starts flashing off and on and my entire jeep locks up and I stop in the middle of the road. This ends my story because I turned around and took it right back, furious!!! They dont know whats wrong with it now and I ended up leaving it there. This Jeep is going to suck all my money dry. Worst decision ever to buy this thing and I barely even drive it!

The alternator of this 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 has gone out, the clutch but other than that it has been very good. Its mainly just normal wear and tear, especially since its 13 years old. It was a 3500 dually 5.9L and had a gooseneck ball already in the back. Also, it must have been wrecked because the passenger door doesnt seat completely right so if its raining it does drip a little. The center console/seat is different material than the rest of the seats. But it has plenty of room in the cab for all of us. Nice being able to haul things especially our 5th wheel.

Never put more than $700 for some maintenance. I was passing cars loaded at 85 mph! The Cummins engine are unbelievable strong and powerful. I am a truck driver. 48 years old. 1 million miles. Drove semis, Volvos, Freightliners. Def system complicates things specially in the winter, truck build a little flimsy but I was very lucky maybe. Cummins engine 385 hp. No words for it. Thanks Cummins Indiana! PS, obsessed with maintenance. This truck are for guys with some mechanical understanding. Love it!

I didnt fill it up, you guys did.” So they cleared the fault and on I went. This fault went on for 2 months before finally they figured it out and replaced the duel cats that were faulty. So for the first two months living at the dealership. Getting rented vehicles etc., etc. I hated this truck period! You buy a 50000 dollar truck and its crap from the get go! What a crappy feeling. Not to mention I called Dodge and talked to the dealership 3 days after I bought it and wanted a different truck! Dodge told me I cannot back out of my loan. They told me I could not get another truck and if I even could that would be the dealerships decision. I thought in Ontario you can back out of a contract within 15 days of signing it? Guess I was wrong. So I talked to the dealership, my salesman and the garage. They just really shrugged me off saying “We will see what we can do for you” and never got back to me and really did nothing.I was told they were going to talk to the owner and try to help me out cause of what I was going through, nothing ever happen. Not even a sorry! I was told they would give me a free 50 inch tv for everything I went through and cause I was so nice and understanding with them. Nothing ever happen. Now not even 10 days after I bought the truck I took it in and took the salesman out for a ride in my truck telling him my truck is the worst ride in a vehicle Ive ever had. Feeling every bump after bump and when you go over bumps or raises like going over bridges; it grabs the truck and shoots it sideways. My wife refuses to drive my 50,000 dollar truck. Regardless, they performed a reset of the PCM and supposedly updated it to the latest version. Thus far the truck is running, but who knows if this issue will crop up again.In any case, my original rating has to stand as this is outrageous that they will put out into limp mode, on an otherwise perfectly running vehicle, after 200 miles. With only liability insurance on it, its a total loss with no idea how it caught on fire. The point of origin looks to be from the drivers side fender well area under the hood. Ive heard numerous rumors of the fuse boxes shorting out, and/or the avs shorting out causing the fire. Thus far, Ive not seen or heard of any recall from Dodge. Can anyone guide me to the correct direction for restitution for my truck that was in great condition with many more miles of dependability left in it or so I thought? Is Dodge going to stand behind their product that has been proven by other owners to have this problem and make good for it? Or just keep taking our money for vehicles with a lifespan of maybe lasting long enough to pay them off before just having to dispose of it?

Has a terrible lag, vibration, no power, will not hardly pull out of the driveway with a trailer on it. Dealer said, Thats not right. Bring it over. We took it over. They all do that we were told. Then why on the phone was I told there is something wrong. Come to find out the truck had apparently been bought and brought back. It had been worked on several times and was in service in Jan. when we purchased. In Aug. Dodge got involved and things have gone down since brake controller is out, cruise control is out, traction control is out, rear window leaks has a short in it somewhere, tires are wore completely out at 12,000 miles. ABS system works sometimes, exhaust brake works sometimes, uses oil about 1 quart per 1000 miles, fender flares falling off, running board falling apart, seat memory sometimes works, coolant light comes on, motor sounds like its going to blow, has a miss. Radio is going out map, light going out, not the bulb either, the map light itself. There are many more things going on. Dodge agreed to put us in another one but has to be of equal or less value so buyer beware. Do not buy a Dodge. We have talked to a lot of people that just give up and trade them off.

The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.

I brought it to my local Dodge dealer to get it looked at. Turns out its the rear end pinion bearing that went bad. The mechanic told me that I might be in luck and that there might be a recall on this rear end. He did some research and found out my VIN number did not match the recall. The repair that the recall calls for is the same repair they did on my truck. The pinion bearing they took out of the truck was trashed due to lack of proper lubrication, the reason for the recall. I called the RAM customer assistance office and received no assistance with this repair.This lack of lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and or cause a crash without warning. The last sentence was pulled directly from the recall advisory that for some reason does not include my truck yet the problem I had is just like the recall. RAM really needs to get this checked out before someone is injured. If you own a 2012 Ram 1500 get it checked out. Safety Recall K36.

I was told by one of the service associates that unless it doesnt start or leaves me stranded, then it should be fine just keep driving it. 4 associates, 2 managers and over a week later, they call me to bring it in that was on 9/10/14. The original dealership we bought it from (Town & Country) replaced seal. Not even a week after this was done, there was a noise from the rear end. So after 2 1/2 years and 3 dealerships and 4 caseworkers from Dodge, my truck is still sitting at dealership and Dodge Tech still not responding on what to do. Rear end was replaced (all components) except main rear end frame. Then they thought it was a leak from the exhaust system. Received 2nd recall notice in January 2013 for bolt for rear end which Dodge has not even manufactured or has available as of August 2013. Now the noise is determined that it is between rear end and transmission (drive train). Took 22 foot trailer for test drive with technician. Now Dodges technician wants them to put 400 to 500 lbs in back of truck to see what it does. Whats the point? As of last night, Dodge caseworker was going to try and contact regional tech to see why he is not responding to dealerships request for further action. Needless to say I have printed out paperwork to file a complaint with Governors office under the Lemon Law. Will be sending certified letters to corporate office today and filing my complaint. According to Georgia Lemon Law, as I read it, if a vehicle is not available for normal use and has depreciated in value, it is considered a Lemon. I say I have a lemon.

This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away. Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (lets all say it together) plow snow. Why couldnt they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe its the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

Bought brand new 2018 Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4. In less than 30 days I was back at the dealership with a vibration problem in the rear. Mechanic drove it and said that was normal! About 30 days later went to accelerate to pull out from a stop sign and it was as if I blew a spark plug off. The truck was skipping severely and image of an engine appeared in the dash. Took it in the next day and they fixed it. Now here I am about another 30 days later and the transmission is not downshifting when going to pass someone! The truck sounded like a belt squealing and it started jerking back and forth trying to go into a gear but couldnt! Check engine light on. Pulled over to nearest parking lot and shifted to park. Turned truck off hoping that would reset the truck. Turned the truck back on about 15 minutes later and went to put into drive and it wouldnt move. Went to put it in reverse and it wouldnt move. I called my husband and he suggested to call the dealership and they can send someone to pick me up; seeing as how this is a brand new truck still under factory warranty! I decided to turn truck back off and wait a little while longer. Next time I started the truck it went into gear but the engine light was still illuminated and it was as if the truck didnt hardly want to go. Drove straight to dealership and they so called fixed it. On my way home from leaving dealership the problem started again! But there are no lights in the dash now when the truck cant go into a lower gear! I run a small business myself and dont have time to keep running back to the dealership! I highly recommend do not buy a Dodge truck! Now that Im talking to a few people about my problems with my truck, it seems to be a common issue with Dodge and their transmissions! Someone needs to take legal action on these dealerships that rip folks off by selling them something they know is going to have serious problems! Now Im gonna take a hard hit when I go to trade this thing in on something more dependable! Please people avoid the 2018 Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4 truck by all means!!!
