The only good part of my $53000 MSRP 2014 Longhorn is the look, everything else is crap. First warranty transmission replaced at 50000 miles. Second transmission replacement at 98000. Yep I was so lucky. First shift issues in 4WD about 25k in. Flywheel cracked at 110k. Hand (foot) brake issues at 111k. Console light started blinking at 50k. Remote start died at 80k. Backup camera works on and off since 60k. Fuel gauge which is inside the fuel pump was replaced at 90k. Now Remote door lock does not open doors Everytime. (Key and battery are fine.) I have been hoping that each repair is the last, however stuff just keeps breaking. Total junk.

Told it was normal tire wear for a dually. No problem found. They set tone. What about steering wheel and pull? Also, this is important: I had been to 2 dealerships and they didnt know the proper tire pressure required. They will put too low pressure in fronts and create an excuse for outside tire wear. I showed them the specs on door pillar. Had to call for authorization for offset ball joint. Service Mgr. told me he heard they had a problem with rotated right axle when it was welded. Uh oh. I called Customer Service FBA. They called me before I picked up truck, wanted to know if I wanted to go to Arbitration? I told them I had worked for Dodge 25 years ago and knew I had to give them 3 wishes, wish they could fix it. Oh. And, I hadnt been called to tell me the truck was done! I was offered road hazard/lifetime balance and rotate from national chain for $160. I took it after 4th rotation and balance 2 unconventional rotation dismounting fronts from rim and swapping by 7900 miles 4th trip to service and 2 rotates and balances from them! At this point Ive been escalated to another acronym for customer service. I provided tire tread wear patterns to service for cupping in ribs, contacted Nexen tire, sent pictures, they concur that its mechanical. I had sent them pictures of bowed right front spring, too.1 service order I questioned the ride height, Right front 1 lower than left, left rear 2 higher than right. Within tolerance after calling tech support. Did you measure and document your findings? No, they took my word for it. Tech rep came and looked at it. Service wrote it up that I was concern about outer tire wear, returning to me my handwritten concerns - nowhere does it say outer cupping in ribs. I even attached a drawing asking about the tolerance of a bowed spring. Contacted General Mgr. of dealership about my complaints not being represented to Chrysler correctly, showed him a picture of the spring. Thats bent he said. I told him his service department has had it in here and they say, cant duplicate it or thats normal for a dually. G.M. would get involved. Spring and 2 tires just arrived.While the tech advisor was there they drove a new truck to compare with mine. The route I discovered would replicate my complaint: accelerator ramp entering highway with a seam in asphalt from here to here on interstate (left sweeping curve, 40 to 80 miles per hour) Wobbles like a hub or a spindle problem yet this has an axle. They drove the same they said. They pointed out which one, I had driven it to see if I was interested in taking the $5000 over trade value in a previous offer. It had 90 lbs in front tire and was a solid, tight front end. Just like mine when it was new. I measured that trucks ride height - this one is even across. I noticed the slightest wear of feathering across tread. Asked them to get the keys, humor me. Found on TPMS #90 on left front #70 on right front. You just demonstrated you could make a new truck feel just like mine. Such a look I got.Make sure service documents exactly what your complaint(s) are. I now will add, it feels like rt front tire is severe underinflated. I contacted selling dealer in another state and was directed to a larger seller of this type of truck. They havent seen many of these but have been successful replacing axle housing, about $4k to warranty. A whole lot less than Ill be out if I went arbitration since I was told this is all theyll do for me. I wont have to wait long after spring replacement to verify fix, 1 more shot at customer service to get axle housing replaced, or I sue. I think I have enough info to verify its their problem and not the customers lack of rotation.

The dealer couldnt help me, even though the service manager (Mr. **) agreed it shouldnt be rusting and bubbling. It may be over the time warranty but it only has 58,000 original miles and not a mark on it. No body damage at all. Please warn people that Dodge has not remedied their paint problem from the past and they wont stand behind their product. I am stuck with a $700.00 estimate for a repair that is clearly a factory defect.

On the purchase date, radio and navigation do not work correctly. I was told by the salesman to take it by my local Dodge dealer (McMullan Motors) to have it checked as it is still under warranty. The first time I take it in, after waiting for a couple of hours, I was informed the radio technician was not there and I would have to bring it back in. I work about 300 miles from my home so I informed them I would have to set up another time to drop it off. I could not leave it and do not own another vehicle. I was also not offered a courtesy vehicle or rental car. In the meantime, I noticed several other things not working correctly so I made a list to get everything checked upon my return.On December 15, 2014 I bring my truck in to be serviced for the following problems: navigation/compass/radio not working, headlights fogging up, vibration felt while driving down the road. Of these 3 problems, only one was fixed even though I was assured by the service department my truck was fixed and I was good to go. On December 23, 2014 I was shopping and when I returned after a rain, my truck had approximately 3 of water inside the cab. I immediately called the McMullan Motors and they explained to me someone else had called with the same problem. I was told if I took it somewhere to have it fixed, other than a Dodge dealership, that would void the warranty. I then made another appointment to drop my truck off, leave it and pick up later.On January 5, 2015 I took truck in for leaking back glass. I am called and good to go. On February 12, 2015 check engine light comes on. I make another appointment. On February 13, 2015 I take truck in for check engine light, fuel sensor vibration. I explain to the service dept. I am still feeling the vibration and was assured they did not feel anything and I should bring it back in for another look. On May 4, 2015 take truck back in for vibration/rotate and balance tires. This time, they rotate and balance my tires. I pick truck back up and yet again I am told that I am good to go. I call them back later that day and tell them I still feel it. I was informed I should bring it back in for another look. During the month of July, my back glass leaks again after a rain. I take it to another dealership to have it repaired. I also explained the vibration to them. I cannot leave it that day and asked to bring it back the next week. This time I leave the truck for 5 days!!!On July 22, 2015 take truck back in for leaking back glass, vibration felt while driving. I go back to pick truck up and I was told that my vehicle warranty was up and my extended Gold Plus warranty (I paid an extra $1500.00 dollars for this) had a 100.00 dollar deductible which I was responsible for. When I explained I had already paid for this once, I should not be responsible for paying for something that was already fixed once by Dodge, the service manager told me to call the dealership and ask them about it. I asked about the vibration and the manager informed me that Ram is notorious for putting bad tires on trucks. The tires are probably the cause of the vibration and I should contact Goodyear to discuss it with them since Dodge is not responsible for tires!!! So, I call McMullan Motors about the back glass issue. I was told by the service department and I quote, Sir we get ** parts all the time! Sometimes we get ** parts right out of the box!!! How sad is it that your own employee tells me this!!! Mr. Hegbloom this is my complaint: I drive to Dallas to purchase my dream truck! I get these responses from your own employees!!! Good to go. Ram has gotten so bad, Dodge separated themselves from the Ram name. Dont know why its vibrating - couldnt feel anything- bad tires, ** parts. Not once has anyone apologized and tried to actually fix my truck. It seems that passing the buck on has become quite the norm. I know this letter is lengthy and for that, I apologize.There are many truck companies I can choose from. I can buy any truck I so desire, some for less money. I have been a loyal Dodge customer for many years and feel that I am owed some loyalty in return. I am truly disturbed by the inept actions of your employees. I saved up my money and had the choice of any truck on the market. I hope that you can restore my faith in your company.As of today, here is a recap of problems I am still having with my truck: engine noise vibration around 40 mph or 1100 rpm, vibration in truck suspension while driving normal speed, transmission is slipping when accelerator is pressed, transmission shifts hard in and out of gears, tires are severely worn at less than 40,000 miles, overall performance of truck is poor, radio still does not work correctly, USB port does not work.

When we first took the test drive there was upper ticking (which still happens from time to time upon start-up) in the motor and the salesman said it hasnt been started in a while but would make sure it was fixed. Then the first time I ever switched it into 4wd it made horrible grinding noises. Took it to the beach and almost got stuck cause the 4wd wouldnt engage properly. Took it back to the dealership to have it looked at and they said it was fine, but of course, it will seem fine on flat pavement cause there is no resistance. At that point, I found out about some recalls that were issued, so I asked for that to be looked into, but there were no parts available and one of the recalls. Chrysler didnt even know what they were going to do about it and I was advised to not drive my truck, yet all the 2015 models were pulled off the lot and werent able to be sold for the same recall. So seeing how my truck was deemed unsafe for my family I asked for a different truck. They wouldnt do anything for me not even get me a loaner car till this issue was figured out. The dealership offered to give me a trade in on another truck, but wouldnt give me what I paid for my truck two months ago and also the trade in would raise my monthly payments. This is complete ** in my eyes how I have had nothing but issues with this truck and all I want is a vehicle that is reliable and safe for my family and not a single person will get me a fair deal on a different truck or something. Im paying 35k for a unsafe vehicle. I cannot wait to be done with Chrysler. This is the very first time I have ever bought a vehicle from a dealership and this whole experience has ruined dealerships for me. Thanks for nothing.

I purchased a 2017 Ram 3500 crew cab dually Laramie edition for my hauling business. Within the first week I was at the dealer with a complaint about wind noise coming through the back cab. They sent me to their glass department where I was told the back window wasn’t properly set from the factory. They said they have seen this before and the only way to fix it was they remove the back window and replace it. Being that the truck was only a week old I was extremely hesitant but agreed to the repair. Two weeks later I was back with the same problem and now when it rained water would come in and drop down the rear seat. I took it to another Ram dealer and this time was told after several test drives with their body technicians that the seams on the back of the cab were not formed together correctly and that’s where the wind noise was coming from not the rear window. Their solution for the repair was to remove the bed, fix the seams, repaint the back cab and then reinstall the bed. They would also take out the rear window once again and try and reseal it. I declined the repair and will be trading my brand new 68k truck in for a different brand. I have called Ram advanced support team and they have refused to take the truck back and give me another one. They said I must go through the repair process before they will discuss any further options.

I find myself having to pull off the side of the road to operate features because the system is so complex it’s a distraction. The US Navy is getting rid of touch screens because they feel they are a danger and blame them for two recent vessel collisions. This kind of technology is highly overrated and make the vehicles less safe to drive. Knobs and buttons are easier to to navigate and safer to use. More tech is not always a better idea.

Now, I did hear from several sources in multiple states that Dodges newer trucks are way below the quality level of their older models such as mine. What I cant determine is exactly when (what year) Dodge started messing with a very, very strong, dependable vehicle. So, for you folks that purchased a newer Dodge truck, I regret that you will not be experiencing the wonderful, dependable, strong truck of years ago. However, the corporate department handling the claim says that I have to rent a truck out of my packet for undetermined amount of time until they find out how to fix the recall so they can than release my truck. From one of their mouths I’ve heard that it might take up to six months! Has anyone ever experienced this issue with Chrysler? If so, what’s the easiest route to make them responsible for this kind of down side for consumers like me? Any help is appreciated. I have purchased 3 dodge Rams and 1 Dodge Challenger in the past 5 years. But after this, I am certain they won’t ever see me in their showroom again. It’s just that bad of experience!

They said my aftermarket subwoofer would have to be removed to work on the climate control. Told them I wouldnt remove it because it has nothing to do with the climate control.The dealership then told me they would not work on my truck until everything aftermarket was removed at a cost of 500 dollars. I am friends with the owners of the local dealership and have set an appointment with them to address the issues Im having with my truck and their ** service department. About 3/10 of a mile before my turn in, the transmission threw itself in 1st gear (from about 45MPH) and the truck completely stalled in the roadway. No gears, transmission would not engage, no power, no go. Had the truck towed to Moss Bros San Bernardino. Moss tells me it will be at least 1 week before they can even LOOK at my vehicle - however it was already towed to the dealer, and as stated before - it was and still is completely inoperable. The following day I receive a call from Moss Bros - stating they THINK a bearing on the input shaft grenades itself through the transmission, and is covered under warranty and theyre going to work on getting a replacement.Fast forward to Friday the 4th I receive a phone call from the dealer and they say they HAVE NOT torn down the transmission case nor done anything to the vehicle. Well how could they have known or hypothesised a bearing went out without even having looked at the vehicle? The following week I receive a phone call from the dealer stating that the transmission will be rebuilt and covered by FCA however, parts are on back order (specifically the valve body). My service writer told me to expect it to be in by the 22nd of November.However, he also mentioned they have brand new transmissions (68RFE) in stock at their local warehouse. However FCA will not authorise a replacement. All while my vehicle has been sitting at the dealership for approx. 2 weeks at this point and I have not been offered a rental vehicle of any sort. So I call FCA Parts escalation and I am told the valve body is on back order and to expect it by the 22nd. November 22 rolls around and I receive a phone call saying that there was an issue with the vendor for the valve body and they are delighted to inform me that the part will arrive the week of the 28th.I explain to FCA parts escalation how this is unacceptable as my work vehicle, revenue generating work vehicle, my fleet vehicle has been out of service for 3 weeks and I cannot do my job with my personal vehicle. I was not offered any kind of rental for my truck being in service for so long either. Parts escalation then assigns me a case manager. Im told to expect a call from the case manager the following day. Never received phone call. The following day I receive a phone call from Felicia in Chrysler Parts escalation and she explains to me that the valve body will be delivered on 12/1/16, however that IS NOT A GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE AND IS SUBJECT TO FURTHER DELAY. Again, 12/1/16 marks 31 days without my work vehicle.I call my case manager repeatedly only to never receive a callback or even as much as an email. Fast forward to today, 11/28/16. I call my case manager and repeatedly leave voicemails demanding to be called back. After about 4 attempts I get ahold of someone who passes me onto a manager, who then calls my case managers, Irving, directly. Irving explains that Chrysler is not responsible to provide a rental vehicle, nor will they provide a rental vehicle, nor will they compensate for a rental vehicle, nor will they replace the transmission (when the COMPLETE transmission is in stock at the local warehouse) and I will have to wait until the valve body is delivered.I got a complete run-around from him about how FCA is not liable for rentals, nor is the dealership, and nor will they further investigate replacing the transmission with one in the local warehouse to get me back on the road faster. So here I am still without my work truck not being able to do nearly 1/5 of my daily tasks because FCA will not do anything to expedite the repairs on my vehicle. I should also note that the vehicle is currently under the 5 year 100K mileage warranty. FCA corporate has given me nothing but a complete run-around and basically shove it attitude about expediting the repairs on the vehicle or issuing a replacement which would have solved the issue 100% and gotten me back on the road 3 weeks ago.

Bought the vehicle in February. Chrysler paid it off July the 7th. Bought a Ram 2500 crew cab on June 28th. In shop on July 9th, with 350 miles; transmission went out. Ill tell you something: All dealerships are the same after; they could care Less!! Bought my first one from Haddad Dodge in Bakersfield and my second one from Hunter Dodge in Lancaster. Both new trucks, neither one made it to 400 miles before they went into the shop. Shouldve kept my Ford Power stroke, was an awesome truck. Ram seems to have dropped its quality control to meet its high demand.

I took the plastic liner out and drove truck to dealer so they could submit photos to Rams digital imaging. After not hearing from dealer for over a month I contacted them and they told me they denied claim, that I had to call so consumer complaint number which I did and was a total waste of time because the person said he could not do anything for me.Then it got brought to regional manager who admitted that Dodge is aware this is an issue but doesnt want to pay to have it fixed properly. SO THEY ADMIT THAT THEIR TRUCKS HAVE DEFECT BUT ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT! So now Im stuck with a one year old truck with 17,000 miles rusting. I have contacted a attorney and am going to start the process of taking them to court. I really enjoy the truck otherwise and am refusing to lose money for someone elses poor workmanship.

Second, and most troubling, is the transmission is not shifting properly from over drive (6th) down to any other setting. It takes about 5 to 10 seconds to respond, and while in cruise, it will delay downshifting while climbing an incline for as long as it takes to drop 5 to 7 miles per hour before it reacts. The other problem is first thing in the morning, the transmission will not go into reverse. You start the truck and drop it into reverse, and it just sits there. Put it back into park and wait about 1 to 3 minutes, and it goes into reverse but backs up so slowly that you would swear it was freezing outside.Next, the rear view mirror doesnt dim at night. Next, there is no road hazard warranty on the tires direct from Goodyear or the dealer, but they dont tell you that. Next, the truck was advertised to get 20 highway and 14 in town. My GMC truck got 21 on the highway, and this thing gets at best 13.8 MPG. I was told that the mileage should improve. I now have 38K on the truck, and fuel mileage has dropped to 9.2 MPG.Now to the best part. I have had this truck in my dealers face at least 1 week a month or more every month for the past 6 months (since purchased new), and the line Im being fed is that there is nothing wrong with my truck. Since it has not set a code, the dealer (and per Dodge) cannot change a part or spend their money correcting anything that isnt or doesnt break.I make my living with my truck. Im losing money every mile I drive with the fuel expenses. A friend of mine is getting 22 MPG with his truck (a new 2012 also). Any one with a 2012 Ram that is experiencing the fuel mileage problems I have seen, please contact me. I need 500 owners with verifiable fuel mileage concerns to start a class action suit against Dodge. I spent many years building and restoring cars, and Im tired of dealing with stupidity from these glorified parts changers (now called technicians, not mechanics) who cant find their ass without a code.

The first truck we purchased has 26,000 miles on it and the front passenger tire (the one replaced a yr ago is wearing out on the outer edge as well. Dealership does not know why this is happening. They say because we did not rotate the tires every 5000 miles (we would have to do this in between oil changes). Then they said it was because we drive around too many curves. (What the heck.) They want to put these tires on the back inside duels so DOT can ding us on bald tires. They said the back tires are worn a little because of over inflation and we never put air in them since we purchased the truck. They cannot tell us why the tires on these trucks are wearing so now we have to purchase new tires every 20,000 miles or less?? Oh and the first truck has to have ball joints replaced. They do not want to do anything to help and they said the Big Wigs at Dodge says they have no reason to believe that there has been enough issues with these trucks to warrant them doing anything about it. GOOD old USA auto manufacturers. I thought our Ford trucks were a headache but these suck.

Since there are many complaints, heres a positive review: Bought a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 4x4 Hemi truck new in December 2014 with every available option including air suspension. Everything has worked as it should since day 1, and now, almost 2 years later, I have 35,000 miles on it. The 8-speed tranny is smooth as silk and the hemi performs flawlessly. I tow a 3500-lb boat occasionally and have had no issues. I wasnt sure if Id like the Ram Box option, but there is so much storage for tools, trailer hitches, etc. that I love it. Sometimes when I pick up fast food to take home, I put it in the Ram Box where it stays warm and keeps the inside of the truck smelling new longer. My previous truck was a 2003 Dodge 2500 SLT 2WD, Cummins w/6-spd manual that I put 225,000 miles on, and other than regular maintenance, I changed the water pump twice, and the radiator once. Got 22 mpg city, 27 mpg hwy.

It was over 100k miles but had only one owner who had all the maintenance completed at the dealership. It appeared to be a super clean truck. Within the first 6 months the solenoid went bad in the transmission. $500. Now I am facing a bad camshaft and poor lifters. $3500. I have had the truck less than 18 months and am dumping over $4,000 into this truck and that is just to get it back to normal. Ram of course only has the same junk camshaft and lifters to put back into the truck. They have not improved it or do not have any aftermarket parts to fix their poor design. Not to mention it took 3 weeks to get in because this part remains on back order. I had loved my other Ram trucks and was happy with this one before this problem occurred but I will never own another one and like I said I am only 32. I would urge anyone looking for a truck to choose another brand. I cringe when I see them saying longest lasting trucks on the road. Good luck and dont buy a junk Hemi. It is only as good as its parts.

I am often off road hunting and fishing and getting where I am going. I am 45 and do not recreationally hot dog in the mud, but I typically drive them until they are DONE (this is my 4th new) the rest have been purchased with 100,000 - 150,000 miles and driven well into the 200s. Dont get me wrong, I am rough on them.My new Dodge lost transmission fluid. After pouring through the manual and under the hood, I found no dipstick to check the fluid nor any place to put it (5 miles from the nearest paved road). Called my dealer, and he said not to worry, call Roadside - everything is under warranty. $189 later it was towed to the dealer only to find a pinhole crack in an exposed PLASTIC transmission oil pan. Plastic? Exposed? On the underbelly of a 4x4? Really. To not just bash, I must say the customer service and Buying Experience at JTs Dodgeland of Columbia was exceptional and being my first Dodge, I love it - but exposed plastic underneath a 4x4 is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I have taken trucks where they should never go, run over trees, been yanked off of stumps, and so on. This Dodge had obviously had a stick of some sort kick up and hit the oil pan, which being PLASTIC allowed a hole to be punctured. It has yet to see any REAL tight spots. So I have paid 189 not covered and the bill to replace the plastic little pan and recalibrate the computer is $960. Had I poked a hole in something metal, I would chalk it up to cost of doing business. If Dodge wants to compete in the market for folks that really need 4x4, then get rid of, or use a skid plate to protect these fragile parts. We dont get much snow in SC, but we got plenty of mud, sticks, stumps, etc... After looking, a rock off the Interstate at 70mph could puncture (the 5.7 Hemi 8 speed is by far the smoothest, most fuel efficient truck I have ever had and is an absolute rocket) - the tiptronic (sp) transmission is BAD as well.

The truck currently has just over 36,000 miles on it. During my 13,000 miles of ownership to date, the following has been replaced or repaired on this truck (majority of which were sold to me this way): broken front wheel; air filter with 1/2 inch of dirt; windshield wipers; windshield washer fluid empty; front tie rod end; front coil overs/struts; repaired dent/rust on tail gate (Part of Sales Agreement/I paid a discount); tires; front brakes and rotors; rear brakes and rotors; transmission fluid; trans axle fluid; transfer case fluid; spark plugs; anti-freeze; fuel injectors had to be cleaned so engine would idle properly; gas cap; pressure sensor for gas tank (so check engine light would go out); and serpentine belt. I have an office job and all this truck hauls is a DVD movie and a bag of groceries on occasion. This truck is nothing a but a poorly built pile of junk and a money pit that has taken away from the quality of my life and caused me much stress and anxiety. Never again! I am done with Dodge.

REALLY, I JUST WANT AIRBAG FIXED not cover it up and think Im desperate for money. Guess what? Im not! Now have retained a Lemon Law attorney to maybe help. Its been many months and Chrysler tells him no refund or replace. Then Chrysler attorneys tried to offer me $2000 and think I would be happy and say sure. Then again I told my attorney to tell them to stick that up their **! Do they think Im that easy or stupid! Actually, this should be considered 2 reviews, as it covers my experience with 2 Ram trucks.Bought a 2011 Big Horn 1500 quad cab with a 5.7 v8 and 6 speed auto trans. I owned this truck for a little over 4 years, racking up 115,000 miles. The truck was in the shop only twice for something other than normal maintenance. Once for a recall inspection on the rear pinion nut, and once for an update of the U-connect radio. I use it for my everyday vehicle, as well as hauling my boat or a 24 flatbed trailer with 2 side X side off road vehicles. I live in NH, so winter road treatments usually raise hell with vehicles. Every time I put my truck on the lift for oil changes, or other maint., I inspected front end components, paint, brake lines, etc. When I traded this truck, the front end was original and still as tight as the day I bought it. There were no engine fluid leaks, and there were no transmission fluid leaks. I did have a torn CV boot on the pass. side, but that was due to the muddy condition of the service road to my camp... no fault of the truck or design. The underside of the body still looked like the day I bought it, with no rust formed. The chassis was just showing signs of beginning to rust. It should be noted that I wash my truck REGULARLY, especially during the winter months.In 2015 I bought a new Big Horn, with 5.7 hemi and 8 speed tranny. As I write this it has 20k miles. It has not been in for any service other than normal maintenance. I expect this truck to be as reliable as the 2011. I dont care which manufacturer you own, or have owned, there are lemons with ALL of them. For my money, I think RAM trucks are still the best value!

It has been in the dealer shop, quite a few times, more than any vehicle I have ever owned, navigation issues, tires worn out in 15,000 miles, can’t even roll down our back passenger windows without having your eardrums broken, the noise is horrendous, they say it fine, don’t roll down window. First time we opened rear window on cab, wouldn’t close, got everything in cab wet, they finally replaced cable after the third time at dealer, and I let “Everyone” in the dealership know of my disdain for my new truck. I have ticking issues now in my engine, they say its fine, its not!!! Then they checked my in cab filter during oil change, and they broke my filter box, I found pieces on floor after the oil change, they didn’t tell me, I went right back in with pieces in my hand, and they said, We will have to pull the whole dash out to fix/ replace it! I still am furious about this, I duct taped it all. Paint is so thin, I have chips in paint all over front, and sides!!! I had a 2009 Dodge Ram, with the 360 cu in in it, had 320,000 miles on it, only repair was a intake gasket and transmission valve replaced... NEW Is Not Better... Paid over $55,000 for a piece of junk, will never own another Dodge Ram again, I am done with bad trucks, bad service... Very frustrated.

Where do I start?! We purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 new off the lot, after trading in our Dodge mini-van purchased new in 2004. Financing was really easy through Chrysler Finance. This was the only positive thing in all of our experience with this truck. The first year, we had problems with the gas cap light coming on, then the engine light. We had regular maintenance because we needed to have a reliable truck for our outfitting business. Within the next year, one day, the truck wouldnt even start. We found out that the anti-theft sensor in the steering column wouldnt accept our key. Again, we needed a new sensor; this was one of many to follow. We had to replace the radiator several times, have it flushed because the heater wouldnt work. The air-conditioning hasnt worked for 3 years now. The computer has been eating up all our money, and the dealer refused to change it when it was still under warranty. A sensor for the windshield washer fluid has been on for 2 years; the engine light is still on and now after the truck is finally paid off, the anti-theft device needs to be replaced again. I forgot to mention that the rear end, after the first year, started slipping. I could go on but I think a person reading this gets the message. Yes, there are a lot of kilometers on this vehicle since 2007, but it has been a very stressful experience and journey. I am sorry to say but through all of the trouble with this Dodge Ram, we had to rely on a 1997 Ford F150. Never again will we buy a Dodge.

As soon as the warranty expired, the engine computer motherboard failed. The cost was $3,000.00 and it took three trips to the dealer to completely install the motherboard correctly. Hey, things happen, correct? Recently, I have had a consistent engine light on. At 70,000 miles, I took the vehicle in for service. After a diagnosis, the code of P2262 was the most prevalent code and it signifies a turbo failure. Replacement cost is $4,901.00. I called Dodge to express my concern and they refused to stand behind their product.While I have researched blogs and forums for a reasonable solution, at the end of the day, I have a Cummins diesel engine, with two major failures, before the vehicle turns 70,250 miles. This is an inferior product with an inferior organization (Chrysler-Dodge) standing behind it. Run, dont walk, away from FCA (Fiat Chrysler).

Dodge bought the truck out and we replaced it with a 2500 gas 2014 truck. This truck had a rear end whine in it. The garage we bought it from said it was like opening Pandoras box and did not want to fix it. This whine was between 50-60 mph. We then took it to another dealer and they heard the whine and opened the rear end but did not see anything wrong with it. The truck had 12,000 miles on it with original warranty and an extended warranty on it. The dealer charged $172.00 to have the whine worse 45-50 mph than when we brought it in to be fixed. Bottom line is go buy a FORD or Chevrolet not a Dodge Ram. Two strikes and youre out forever.

The service department said it all like that. But that no correct by knowing now. Then when I got my 1st service and asked about and said they can tight up better than that at Autonation at Victory drive Columbus. Again the technician did do better and the glue was left all over my vehicle. Also the service department had to drain my truck because it put in the wrong oil. To bring you up to date now it is 9 Nov. 2016, had to tow to Autonation Chrysler.The next day Autonation informed the engine failed and broke it down to take pics to send Chrysler. To get it a action to okay to order was 5 days and no rental was assigned to me. Autonation here on Lake parkway was not any help. Fast forward to Wednesday 16 Nov. the Customer service has given me a runaround. I have been asking for a rental pickup for my 60000 weight paper and I have no seen a solution. With number of problem I will be continue calling and get to someone in the corporate to listen and compensate for the damages. I would like to replace the vehicle that is not even a year old 17500 on it. Ram/Chrysler has lost all faith of Company.

I usually do all of my own maintenance work on my vehicles, so I purchased new rotors, brake pads and small parts kit at my local parts supplier. Once I got into the job, I discovered that my new pads were much larger than the ones on my truck. Thinking that the counter man had made a mistake, I checked online to see what the correct part number was. The counter man had given me the correct part, apparently the factory had installed the brakes for a two door truck on my four door truck. These brake pads are significantly smaller than what should have been installed. I feel, that as a result, my safety has been compromised.My truck is equipped with a hemi which has had several power adders installed, and I occasionally tow a trailer with it. With these smaller brakes, I no longer feel as safe as I did, I wonder how many times in the past my brakes were ready to fade, and I was unaware. I am just reporting this to alert other owners to be aware that they might have the same condition as me. I feel that Chrysler did me a disservice and showed a certain lack of regard for my safety, and the safety of those that I share the road with. I am now in the process of researching which parts are the correct parts for my truck so that I may replace them for my peace of mind. The truck is my baby, so I wont consider getting rid of it. I still like Mopar, and their styling, but I am extremely disappointed in them. As of this writing, there have been no consequences, but I will be changing My Front end parts till I can have the bigger safer brakes.

Had radio updated 3xs before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4xs about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just dont think they know how to correct the issue and its to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product Ill ever buy.

After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didnt cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasnt covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. Ive always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on. That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owners manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where Im going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. Ive owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned havent, thanks to God! Anyway, I think I am about to trade my Dodge in for a Chevy or Ford. I wont be able to afford paying Dodge for all the high repair costs and maintain payments at the same time. I really wish Nissan would come out with a ton pick up!!

The rpms shoot to 4 and back down. We have had everything possible fix that it may have been and it still does the same thing. Just crazy. Some people now days can only afford one vehicle and when they do they expect it to be a good one. I will tell you one thing if I can afford to get another one it will definitely NOT be a Dodge. With all these problems and not just this one there are a lot of complaints about 05 Dodges. I cant believe that only the States are buying back these vehicles. But I will tell you one thing. I have kids in my vehicle and if it stalls and someone get hurt there will be a big law suit. This is not good for business. From one unhappy customer.

Apparently its about 3100 dollars (American) without the warranty. So I am locked to have the dealership do the work, and of course its backordered and I am out of my truck for going on 2 weeks (while renting a mini van to keep myself in business). All I can tell anyone, buy the dealership warranty before driving off the lot. Biggest mistake Ive made ever since selling my 05 Dodge Ram inline 6. As soon as I get the truck back, Im selling to buy another brand. I need a dependable truck.

After weeks of contacting them, they approved the roof and the bed but they denied the claim for the door even when the area had rust on it and I just own the truck for like two weeks. If your trucks rust in two weeks then is poor materials used on it. Before they approved the truck to get fix, I fix the bed. My guy repair all the paint and metal shavings. I decided to spray a bed liner since it would be the best option to keep the bed in good shape. I sent the receipt and now Dodge Chrysler is giving me a hint that they might denied the claim since I installed a bed liner on top of the repairs. Are you kidding me, you should be praising me since I fix it for way less that was approved initially.Crappy company, and by the way I had a 2007 Ram. I also own a charger and now have this problem on this Ram 2016 Laramie. Is incredible how they are risking a customer for a mere $597. This truck was 50K. Plus Im stuck with this truck with a major problem (roof paint), Dodge who is going to pay me for the value lost for a crappy paint job done by you. Im pretty sure this will come out on my truck report. Also if you have a problem with your dealer, then you are out of luck since they contact the dealer for everything. The dealer that I deal with is Arrigo Dodge in Fort Pierce FL. Good luck if you are in this area. They are as crappy as it gets. While the vehicle was under warranty the vehicle locked up in the rear up position. Could not change it. Dealer finally changed out the pump motor in December of 2017. This is October of 2018 and the vehicle is doing the same thing. When the new pump was put in I was told the parts and labor were covered for 2 years. What they failed to tell me was once the original warranty expired, that pump and the labor are no longer covered. So the new pump they put in 10 months ago is now going to cost me over 2,000.00 and the truck has 34,000 miles on it. Well, I am now going to buy a Chevy truck, and I pray my wifes 2018 Dodge Challenger holds up. Chrysler has stuck it to this customer for the last time!!! Do not buy a Dodge truck with that inferior air suspension. The 2019 Dodge Ram has a recall on the rear end before you leave the sales floor, so you are now warned about this junk manufacturer and their junk product!

I rebuilt the transmission at 328,000 miles and the truck now has 356,000 miles with the original motor and running gear. I change my fluids often and have no issues whatsoever. Every option from the cold AC and cruise control to the rear view camera that I added work perfectly. This truck consistently gets 18mpg which is better than most 3/4 ton 4x4 pickups on the road. I get compliments everywhere I go from people driving newer vehicles, many of them making payments while theyre constantly taking it to the dealer for repairs. I would not hesitate to drive my truck anywhere, anytime.If you are tired of paying $40k, $50k or $60k for a new truck that just creates headaches, consider getting a real truck from the 1990s when the big 3 were in competition with each other as to who could build the best truck on the road. Unfortunately today they are only competing for profit at the expense of making cheaply built vehicles carrying over inflated price tags.

New 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Series ST 4Dr. 4x4 purchased at Crowfoot Dodge on April 15, 2013. They did not offer or have available a truck canopy to fit the truck box so I contacted Auto Truck Depot in Calgary to order a canopy for this truck box. They attempted to install the canopy on May 8, 2013 and discovered the truck box was installed at the factory by the manufacturer crooked. The defect is very visible looking down the passenger side from the rear when it meets the truck cab. It is even but looking down the drivers side from the rear when it meets the truck cab, it is 1 1/4 inside of the truck cab. The space between the truck cab and the truck box is 1 1/4 different from the drivers side to the passenger side. I returned the vehicle to Crowfoot Dodge on May 8 for the truck box to be loosened and squared to the truck cab but this made no difference at all when they tightened the bolts down. They apparently suggested winching the box straight but I am presently left with this situation and a truck canopy that is prepaid but cannot be installed as it will damage the truck cab due to the improper installation of the truck box by the manufacturer. There must be other trucks with this same problem but unless you are installing a truck canopy, it is not something you would notice or look for.

Now, it gets good! I was told that they have to order this bolt. One bolt, what could be special about this bolt that it could not be found anywhere but at a MOPAR warehouse? While my truck was in the shop, I asked that they look at the recall, front end, and tie rod. As it turned out again, I need new tie rod ends. They have to be ordered. I was told they would be ordered with the bolt. The next day, the bolt was in and installed; the tie rod parts were not shipped. First, Im told by the service manager that they were not aware that one was needed when in fact I was told the day before. Then I was told that there is a limit to how many tie rods they are allowed to order per week! Really?

When I called Dodge, the woman at the recall center said that they went by VIN numbers only and that my VIN number was not on the recall list. Therefore it could not have been the track bar that failed. As she continued, she said that they knew only 1500 trucks had the wrong smaller truck part and because my VIN was not on the list. It could not have been the track bar. I asked where do I go to get it fixed and submit proof of the track bar being the wrong size and she said its up to me to get it fixed and its not Dodges fault if the wrong size was installed. But they would appreciate me being a Dodge customer. I HATE DODGE! Every Dodge we ever had, the drivers door come off the hinges or they break leaving us to weld the door shut, suspensions go, engines go. Grrrrr, frustrating.

This week Monday morning I started my truck and check engine light came on so I stopped at my local dealer they plugged it in and couldnt read any codes. They informed me that the soonest they could look at the truck was 10 days away. I asked the service manager if the truck would go into limp mode. He informed me NO. I made an appointment 10 days out. Later that day I drove the truck an hour north and boom. What happens the DEF system starts a count down to 5 mph. So I drive into the nearest RAM dealership. They tell me We have no one that can look at the truck or plug it in. I ask the service writer what am I supposed to do brand new truck 16,000 miles on it less than a year old. I was told if you drive west about an hour you should hit another RAM dealership. They might have someone that can look at it, if not keep driving west and you will hit another dealership they might look at it!! I mean really thats what I was told. Now keep in mind you have a 150 mile range until the truck goes into limp mode and wont go over 5 mph. Its December in Wisconsin and its cold so instead of driving west I decided to head closer to home and I stopped at another RAM dealership and asked them to plug it in to see what was wrong with it. This is the 3rd Dealership I stopped at that day. They also informed me that they didnt have anyone to look at the truck and I would need to warm the truck up and try clearing the code out of it which could buy me a few days. I paid $60,000 for this truck and this is what 3 different dealers tell. Well my truck is at a service shop now not a RAM dealer because this private shop is moving heaven and earth to get it back on the road since no dealership would do anything. The kicker is all over this is under warranty but Im paying out of my pocket because I dont have any other way of getting around without my truck. Ive called Customer Service with RAM 3 times and I keep getting the runaround with no HELP. If people like me stopped buying RAM Trucks dealerships wouldnt be in business. I guess spending $60,0000 few months ago doesnt classify me as a good customer..... Sad part is a traded my Chevy Duramax in on a new Cummins. I guess Im the one that made the mistake. I wonder if GMC customer service would be better after spending $60,000. I keep getting told someone would call me in 24 hours still waiting. While I have driven all Japanese in the past, Jeep and Ram are paying attention to the real customers and making far more interesting products. This makes it hard to compromise and buy a lesser vehicle. Having the most off road capable full size truck in the world is fantastic. The lsd rear diff is perfect for roads. Lock both diffs and disconnect sway bar and good luck getting stuck. The winch, way more handy then you think. The de-rated towing capacity is absurd, and it will squat less and handle more than most heavy duty trucks. The interior, and the small details the Japanese used to think about round out these trucks. Keep up the good work, and keep improving reliability and I will be back for another Power Wagon and a Gladiator to replace our Four Runner.

Not looking for legal action but want to say I was very happy when warranty was over and didnt have to listen to Dodge dealers lie to me and repeatedly bring my truck in to be left for entire days to fix minor things repeatedly. Unfortunately first major repair as failed transmission which was just after warranty. Bought truck new and never abused a day, never towed more than 27 travel trailer and did all recommended service. Before warranty was up needed steering pump, tie rod fell off in driveway, many u-joints, rear of vehicle issues and vibrations, tach is sporadic, wiper motor, and more. At 76000 km they said e brake was screwed and as a favor would do work if I bought $1100 worth of parts because they were fixing warranty stuff anyway... I did. Now Im suspicious and curious about the e brake because I just paid a good shop $1900 to rebuild it because the e brake blew apart, my rotors were garbage, seals were taken out and such.... why? I have never abused truck or even used the e brake (may be one problem) and most kms are highway. 147000 kms on a 2006 in 2014.... never abused. I work away a lot and just want to go home and enjoy sports trips with kids... I am leaving out a lot but Im tired of writing and am still very pissed about recent bill. Am I missing something? Mechanic thinks I drove with e brake on for damage I had... I did not! Used to call truck my baby, but to save face I call her my old girl now. :) Wife begs me to buy a new truck. Funny thing is I bought this because its my dream truck and only way I could afford it was to purchase over 8 years like a moron... so Im still paying for it, lol. Dont know how long I will keep it because I really do love driving it and would die without mega cab but.... do the repairs ever end? Divorce over a truck? ;)

So I changed it. Another 3000 mile goes by and I got the same message again, but this time I called my local Dodge Ram dealer (Huntington Beach). They told me that the 7500 mile oil change interval is just an approximation. I also noticed that when I drained the oil (into a 5 gal bucket) I noticed the oil level was abt an inch and a half from the top. The dip stick is hard to see if the oil level is higher than it should be. So I took notice to that, so now after another 3000 miles I took an oil sample via Quinn Cat. and it came back with low oil viscosity with an 8.5% of fuel in the oil. Ive tried to get help via my local Dodge dealership and all I got was No engine light, then we cant do anything. I don’t feel that any of what Ive explained is normal. Is there anything you can do to help. Well I got my truck back from Dodge and they told me that 8.5% fuel dilution is? Normal? I cant believe that. They also said that they did a comprehensive injector test. The only thing that I saw in the paperwork that they gave me was that the tech pulled the valve cover and looked at the injectors and stated he didnt see any leaks. Also the tech smelled in the engine, and it didnt smell of fuel. That, is as far as I can see is their BIG test. Anyway, my VIN is **. My oil change intervals are May 25, 2013, 18700 miles (That’s when I bought the truck), Aug 24, 2013, 22176 miles, Nov 17, 2013, 26659 miles (This is when I pulled over 4 1/2 gallons of oil/fuel mix out of the engine), Jan 21, 2014, 29732 miles (This is when I took the oil sample). Changed oil Mar 24, 2014, 32980 (Oil Sample 9% rule in oil), April 27, 2014 (Oil sample no results yet). Now, Im not the smartest cookie on the planet, but if I get 8.5% & 9% of fuel in the oil at only 3073 mile between oil changes, something is wrong (In my Opinion). Thanks for your time. I just wanted to say I am disappointed with the rear coil spring suspension on my 2012 Dodge 1500. I have an enclosed trailer that weighs 2,800lbs and may have around 1,000lbs in it. The rear of the truck drops down drastically. I know the coil spring suspension gives it a better ride, but it ruined the carrying capacity. The fuel mileage has gone from 17.5 to 15.5 in the past week and I have not pulled anything or changed where I purchased the fuel or the grade of fuel. Maybe that will improve over time. Now I just have a truck that I really cannot use to its full potential.

After the dealership repaired the turn signal malfunction, I received a call telling me the lug nuts bloated and not easily coming off. I was then informed it would cost me $159.60 for new lug nuts and replacing. In view of the fact, I was there in response to a Chrysler recall to replace a hub bearing which required removing the wheels. It amazes me the dealer doesnt have a lug wrench to remove the original lug nuts. I discussed this with the service manager to see if this was an unusual occasion. The response was a yes. At that point, I began to suspect this is one of those dealer scam occurrences. I called the Chrysler Dodge Ram Case Management Group in Detroit. After playing telephone tag with a Leslee for week to finally get her to understand which Jeff Wyler dealership in KY and OH I had dealt with, she was very unsure of the next steps. I asked to speak to a manager. I talked to a man who was totally unfamiliar with the case and immediately took the corporate position that the lug nuts are out of warranty. I found that apprehensible. If Chrysler cant make a lug nut that lasts longer than one year, Im not surprised the American auto industry is in big trouble. A very discourteous woman got on the line and echoed the same thing. Just so you know, I currently own two Chrysler products. I also leased a Chrysler 300C about 4 years ago. In net, I have owned three Chrysler products in the past 4 years and was in fact looking at Jeep SUVs at that dealer for my wife. In conclusion, I am very angry about being ripped off by a dealer who doesnt own a usable lug wrench. Even more so, Im angry at a company like Chrysler that is so shortsighted you are willing to lose significant future business rather than correct what I believe is a very poor customer service decision. Unless I receive a full refund of $159.60, I will soon divest myself from the Dodge Stratus and the Ram 1500.

Well that was back in October and now we are in to December and I still dont have the refund for the service which I never wanted and never used. The last time I checked they told me it had to go through the bank and the bank would send it back to me. I checked with the Bank and they had not received it. So now we have my money in limbo somewhere and nobody will do anything about it. ** at the dealership has treated me like He doesnt have the time for me and Im unimportant. His excuse for all the mix up was the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing. I found him rude and very unprofessional. I dont enjoy being treated with disrespect. As it says in the users manual pg 196. to become unstuck use a rocking motion by shifting from reverse to drive, turning front wheels right to left. Common practice for someone who has owned 4 wheel drive vehicles all of their lives. (I just turned 65 and have driven in severe conditions most of my life.) When placing vehicle in drive, the CV U joint off the transfer case side of the front drive line broke causing the vehicle to shut down. I placed gear selector in park, turned the engine off and I had to use my own tow service to get vehicle to the Dealer. (Road side assistance was a JOKE.) Will only tow 30 miles, dealer is 50 miles away. The dealership did a digital imaging, involved the district manager who sent it to be reviewed by Chrysler digital imaging review.A case had to be opened by Detroit Chrysler Customer Service. Chrysler has found me at fault for being stuck in the snow and ice in my driveway. Snow depth was 6 inches with 3 inches of ice underneath (Like I could have chose to divert the storm) and Chrysler will not warranty the vehicle and is calling this ABUSE. Now I have to get an attorney involved to replace the front drive line and (replace transfer case wiring) harness is $2,750.00. To replace drive line and solder 6 wires back together $1,350.00 at my expense. I have had to go to Chryslers top management supervisor. Still waiting. There is no way that spinning your tires on ice and snow can break a drive line CV U joint. (The vehicle was running in low range at 20000 rpm when this happened) I have owned several new 4x4 trucks, never have I broke a drive line CV U joint. They have worn out but never broke like this New Heavy Duty Ram 1 ton truck has. It also has a front end alignment problem - the (right front) wheel keeps cupping tires. This is another case I have to open with Chrysler. This is the 3rd time for repair for this.. also touch screen radio has been replaced, another problem. Cost of unit $3,000.00. They fixed without a problem but the dealer damaged dash and had to pay for a new dash replacement.This truck has been in the shop for repair for 1 month during the 2 years I have owned it and still climbing and they give you no rental vehicle unless you buy the extended warranty another $2,000.00 -- $ 60,000.00 and 3 years bumper to bumper warranty, drive train 5 years or 100,000 thousand mile (means nothing) if Chrysler is not forced to stand behind it. This truck Is a $60,0000.00 pile of JUNK. My 04 Chevy Duramax 1 Ton has 45,000 miles on it. Never been in the shop since the day I bought it June 2004 like new to this day. Tows heavy loads and has never broke a drive line or worn out a U joint and has been stuck in snow and ice several times in the past 13 years.

There was a sudden loss in power and a sudden drop in fuel mileage. The tires are cupping, the door seals are leaking, and I have added over 3 gallons of antifreeze. After having it in the shop many times, they still cannot find the vibration issue. They do all the recording, because I guess Dodge thinks that the computer vibration analyzer will pick up everything. After being without my truck for 3 weeks, Dodge told my dealer to return the truck to me and that everything was going to be fine - after they didnt have the dealer check for why the antifreeze was running low and why the oil was mysteriously overfull. They then proceeded to tell me that the transfer case seeping oil out was an acceptable oil leak. Are you kidding me? This is a 2010 leftover, newly bought in May 2012 with 7500 miles on it, and they say an oil leak is acceptable? Dodge will not stand behind their products and its an act of God to get stuff warranty! I am very disappointed. Also, the fact is its still in vibration and now seems worse than when I dropped it off!
