I purchased my Ram 3500 2014 from Scottsdale Airpark ram in Arizona. This dealership will not help me with any of the below issues. Chrysler, paid a tech to do a ride along, and the tech seen all the below issues, but the computer said the truck was fine. Well it is NOT fine. This is the biggest piece of ** on the road. Please read #15. Very important. 1) The exhaust break does NOT work. 2) There is no power from the turbo. I cant even tow my 10,000 lb toy hauler up a hill. On my way to Flagstaff a 1973 40 Winnebago passed me. WTF! 3) Passenger rear light out, still shows up on screen. Airpark ram cant fix this. 4) Passenger light on step is now out. It was working when I dropped it off on 12-3-14. 5) Steering wheel is still sloppy. There is too much play. This is the fifth time they tightened it. 6) There is masking tape residue on the passenger side, after the windshield was removed at Airpark, to install the new ceiling. 7) Still no stopping power from truck breaks when trailer is hooked up. 8) Replace ceiling. Bill has it ordered. Never installed after a month and a half. 9) Tires are bald. Bill has an email to Coy. Waiting on response. Response was Not our problem. 10) There still is loud eerie creaking noises coming from truck, when in off position. 11) The horn sometimes sounds weak. You can hardly hear it. 12) Still no power and lag when towing a trailer. 13) The truck auto starts on its own. 14) The truck will not let you in sometimes when using the remote.15) BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!! The truck will go into full acceleration when you are driving. It has almost KILLED me, and others when this happens.I would like to start a class action lawsuit. Please call if you have the same issues.

So I buy my truck in April 2013, Dodge Hemi 5.7L Bighorn. Before I bought this truck I was told it was an amazing truck and the best riding truck out of all the Hemi class trucks. So the day comes to pick it up. I take my truck home and while driving it around no longer than 30 mins the engine light comes on. So my first time experience was destroyed. I took it to the dealership in Strathroy Ontario where I purchased it. They told me it was the gas cap fault. I said “How can it be that? I didnt fill it up, you guys did.” So they cleared the fault and on I went. This fault went on for 2 months before finally they figured it out and replaced the duel cats that were faulty. So for the first two months living at the dealership. Getting rented vehicles etc., etc. I hated this truck period! You buy a 50000 dollar truck and its crap from the get go! What a crappy feeling. Not to mention I called Dodge and talked to the dealership 3 days after I bought it and wanted a different truck! Dodge told me I cannot back out of my loan. They told me I could not get another truck and if I even could that would be the dealerships decision. I thought in Ontario you can back out of a contract within 15 days of signing it? Guess I was wrong. So I talked to the dealership, my salesman and the garage. They just really shrugged me off saying “We will see what we can do for you” and never got back to me and really did nothing.I was told they were going to talk to the owner and try to help me out cause of what I was going through, nothing ever happen. Not even a sorry! I was told they would give me a free 50 inch tv for everything I went through and cause I was so nice and understanding with them. Nothing ever happen. Now not even 10 days after I bought the truck I took it in and took the salesman out for a ride in my truck telling him my truck is the worst ride in a vehicle Ive ever had. Feeling every bump after bump and when you go over bumps or raises like going over bridges; it grabs the truck and shoots it sideways. My wife refuses to drive my 50,000 dollar truck. It makes her sick from all the bumps and horrible ride. This truck twice now has almost carried my wife and kids off the road resulting in an accident. Even myself, I drove over a common bridge in our area on Pike Side Rd outside Strathroy doing 90 kms and it shot me 2 feet sideways resulting in missing the bridge wall by a foot. I have never been more scared in my life driving a vehicle.I also took my vehicle in at the same time complaining about the tires. Im buying a 50000 dollar truck and they put on the cheapest tires. I have 40000 kms on my truck now and they are done already. They have been done at 20000 kms ago! I took it in on my first and second service asking if they were Ok and they said yes, nothing wrong with them. They are at the wear bars pretty much. Thx for being honest Dodge. When I bought the truck the sales guy told me to go to another tire place to trade them in and get a discount on better tires. This is the sales guy for Dodge telling me the tires are crap after I realize it days after I buy it.So I called the tire place. They turn me down cause they have 80 tires sitting in the back that they cant move cause of doing these deals for Dodge. So out of luck. Thx Dodge for selling me a 50000 dollar truck and sending me straight to the tire place for four new tires 30000 kms later for 1500 dollars in good tires cause you rip your customers off informing us youre selling us a 5 star rating road worthy truck; wouldnt that include the tires? Hogwash...So here I am less than a year and a half later paying for a truck owing 70000 dollars and I have a truck that was a piece of crap from the first day, having cat issues, balled tires in 30000 kms, a truck that rides like a Russian tank - well sorry Russia your tanks ride better! Hanging radio issues, suspension issues etc., etc. My wife wont ride in it cause it makes her sick. And while I look back supporting Dodge 3 times buying a Neon RT in 2002, a Dodge 2010 Caravan, and now a 2013 Dodge Hemi, I am honestly thinking of taking my services to another company. We own a dairy farm and have supported Dodge for years. I think we are going to buy elsewhere from now on. Now Im not saying all this just because I had just one bad go. Im so upset because after all of this not once did I get an apology, not once did they offer me anything out of compassion for what Ive gone through, not once did the owner or Dodge or anybody call me or anything! I will continue to hate this truck every day and not once has anyone given a crap at all!Im so upset you would think they would have given me free oil changes or God something to show support or compassion. Nope all the promises; hot air from what I call it, all the grief I went through and the shop employees know what I went through - they saw it. I didnt even get a sorry from the owner of Dodge! So my best friend buys the same truck but a Sport 2014 - same tires, suspension blah, blah, blah. You take my buddy out for a ride same road in his truck then mine! Im so upset, so upset his truck rides like a gem like what mine should ride like. Im so upset. I took him in mine and he was pissed. He now sees the difference and how horrible mine is. And when we went out we almost got into an accident cause when passing a car we hit a bump and it threw us into the side of road, the gravel part and we almost wiped out at 90 kms an hour. Its nice to know I got ripped off and my buddy has the truck I always wanted. So we go to the dealership, my friend confirming the difference, etc., etc. from my truck to his and I have an appointment Friday to look at suspension. Guaranteed Mr. **, everything looks Ok. If you continue to have these issues, just let us know and we will tell you the same thing over and over again and do nothing.” Im so upset. Ill never buy another Dodge ever again and if I can stop one person from doing the same, Ill be happy. It kills me to feel this way cause I loved Dodge for years. All I got to say, if something ever happens to my family be flying off the road, they better hope I die in the process! It sucks to want to be so happy, but all you get is 7 years of grief! Why doesnt anyone care anymore? What have people and companies come to these days? Its so sad.

Bought new 2016 2500 cummins in august. Engine brake started to not engage when going down hill. And transmission was not shifting down. Dealer did update on the ecm flash. Now I have no engine brake and the transmission lets the truck freewheel unless you apply brakes. This shouldnt be this way. The Transmission should shift down and the engine brake should reduce the use of the brakes 30 to 40%. Is ram going to fix this problem.

My radio on my 2012 Ram hasnt worked right for a couple months. Sometimes it will come on but most of the time it wont. It only affects the AM and FM, CD player working and serious radio work. Of course Dodge wont back their products up. Very disappointed, will buy something different next time.

Sold my 05 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel to buy New 2016 RAM 2500 w/ turbo diesel. After having the fuel sensing unit go out at about 45,000 miles, got it fixed under warranty luckily with 150 dollars deposit. So here I am with 65000 miles, now its the turbo actuator part. Apparently its about 3100 dollars (American) without the warranty. So I am locked to have the dealership do the work, and of course its backordered and I am out of my truck for going on 2 weeks (while renting a mini van to keep myself in business). All I can tell anyone, buy the dealership warranty before driving off the lot. Biggest mistake Ive made ever since selling my 05 Dodge Ram inline 6. As soon as I get the truck back, Im selling to buy another brand. I need a dependable truck.

My wife and I have purchased a 2016 Ram 1500 8 speed with the 5.7 Hemi with 0 miles on it. I loved the truck because it is my first truck. However, with only a little over 3000 miles on it I started to experience the truck lunging forward when coming to a stop between 1st and 2nd gears. I took it in 2 times for this and they just reprogrammed the TCM (trans control module). The third visit the truck was at the dealer for a week and a half and they replaced the valve body and TCM sensor.Last night 8/28/17 while driving through the main streets the truck died on me and the dash lights were flashing. I had no brakes, power steering, or transmission control over the truck. I am very lucky that I was not on the highway when this happened. I had the tow truck take it to the dealer and the diagnostics had over 10 fault codes... now thats pretty scary. I have since obtained a lawyer and we are pursuing lemon law here in California. Sadly my trust in the Mopar brand is broken and will never purchase another Dodge product again.

2009 Dodge Ram 4X4. On December 2, 2011, I took the truck to dealership for seat belt light in dash. They could not fix the first time. Second time, they fixed the light. After that, the gas gauge was stuck on full. Three times I took back the truck, still not fixed. The dealership emptied 1/2 tank of gas and dispose of it. The gauge moved to 3/4 after they called me to pick up the truck. I was told the problem was corrected. I filled up the tank with gauge showing 3/4. It took 21 gallons. The tank capacity is 26 gallons. The gauge is back to full and will not move after 80 miles. The truck has 17,710 miles. As of Jan. 4, 2012, the gas gauge is still not working. I will not rest until this truck is fixed, then trade it in for a Toyota or Ford. 3 years warranty ends on March 31, 2012.

My 2013 Dodge 1500 5.7 Hemi has a bad head and has been in the shop for 10 days. Took a week for them to figure out what was wrong. Now I was told that the head is on back order and it my take another 3-4 days before I get my truck back. I ask for a loaner truck so I could pull my boat and they said they could not help me. This would have been a real problem if I was out of town and could not have been able to pull my boat home. I think I will be trading this truck off as soon as I get it back. Poor service at the dealer in the way they handle this problem. I feel they could have put a new motor in my truck by now and here is set without a truck. No more Chrysler products for me.

1400 miles and noticed pull, steering wheel off center, tires cupping 2nd, center and 3rd rib, wobble left had curves, had to wait 10 days for appointment, so I parked it. Told it was normal tire wear for a dually. No problem found. They set tone. What about steering wheel and pull? Also, this is important: I had been to 2 dealerships and they didnt know the proper tire pressure required. They will put too low pressure in fronts and create an excuse for outside tire wear. I showed them the specs on door pillar. Had to call for authorization for offset ball joint. Service Mgr. told me he heard they had a problem with rotated right axle when it was welded. Uh oh. I called Customer Service FBA. They called me before I picked up truck, wanted to know if I wanted to go to Arbitration? I told them I had worked for Dodge 25 years ago and knew I had to give them 3 wishes, wish they could fix it. Oh. And, I hadnt been called to tell me the truck was done! I was offered road hazard/lifetime balance and rotate from national chain for $160. I took it after 4th rotation and balance 2 unconventional rotation dismounting fronts from rim and swapping by 7900 miles 4th trip to service and 2 rotates and balances from them! At this point Ive been escalated to another acronym for customer service. I provided tire tread wear patterns to service for cupping in ribs, contacted Nexen tire, sent pictures, they concur that its mechanical. I had sent them pictures of bowed right front spring, too.1 service order I questioned the ride height, Right front 1 lower than left, left rear 2 higher than right. Within tolerance after calling tech support. Did you measure and document your findings? No, they took my word for it. Tech rep came and looked at it. Service wrote it up that I was concern about outer tire wear, returning to me my handwritten concerns - nowhere does it say outer cupping in ribs. I even attached a drawing asking about the tolerance of a bowed spring. Contacted General Mgr. of dealership about my complaints not being represented to Chrysler correctly, showed him a picture of the spring. Thats bent he said. I told him his service department has had it in here and they say, cant duplicate it or thats normal for a dually. G.M. would get involved. Spring and 2 tires just arrived. While the tech advisor was there they drove a new truck to compare with mine. The route I discovered would replicate my complaint: accelerator ramp entering highway with a seam in asphalt from here to here on interstate (left sweeping curve, 40 to 80 miles per hour) Wobbles like a hub or a spindle problem yet this has an axle. They drove the same they said. They pointed out which one, I had driven it to see if I was interested in taking the $5000 over trade value in a previous offer. It had 90 lbs in front tire and was a solid, tight front end. Just like mine when it was new. I measured that trucks ride height - this one is even across. I noticed the slightest wear of feathering across tread. Asked them to get the keys, humor me. Found on TPMS #90 on left front #70 on right front. You just demonstrated you could make a new truck feel just like mine. Such a look I got.Make sure service documents exactly what your complaint(s) are. I now will add, it feels like rt front tire is severe underinflated. I contacted selling dealer in another state and was directed to a larger seller of this type of truck. They havent seen many of these but have been successful replacing axle housing, about $4k to warranty. A whole lot less than Ill be out if I went arbitration since I was told this is all theyll do for me. I wont have to wait long after spring replacement to verify fix, 1 more shot at customer service to get axle housing replaced, or I sue. I think I have enough info to verify its their problem and not the customers lack of rotation.

Bought a 2014 2500 Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn for $67,000 dollars. At 3000 miles the steering tie rod locking nuts and main nut backed off and caused the steering wheel to turn 180 degrees and almost came off which would have resulted in no steering. Took to the dealer there were no parts. They were backordered, dealer offered to retighten the existing nuts. I told them I wanted both tie rods and all the nuts replaced because they had pulled threads. I crawled under the truck and marked all the parts with a magic marker. After three weeks part of the parts came in. They replaced them but did not replace the ones I marked. They told me it was ready. I showed them the magic marks on the parts they did not replace and I told them to reorder all the parts again because they screwed the new nuts on the pulled threads. Two more weeks and got all the parts put on. They realigned the wheels. At 4000 miles it happened again. We went through the whole process again. Another two weeks. Knock on wood they got it right this time. Now I have 49000 miles and did not buy the extended warranty ($3800). I was pulling my RV trailer down a long hill and started hearing a whine pulled over and determined it must be the fan blade. Drove it whining to a RV park and dropped my trailer. The whining would increase when the engine was revved. I sounded like the power steering whine. It was full of power steering fluid and no leaks. The next morning I started the vehicle and was warming it up. After ten minutes I went outside and the vehicle was smoking and had dumped all the power steering fluid on the pavement. The pump pressured up and blown the hoses in three pieces.I called the mechanic at the place I work, who has a fleet of 200 dodge rams. He told me this was a known issue with Dodge. The hoses have a plastic liner in the ends that rupture and ball up in the hoses and restrict the flow of fluid causing the whining sound. When you shut off the engine overnight the plastic cools and hardens plugging of the hose. When you restart the plastic stops the flow of fluid and the pump pressures up and blows the hoses in two. I you were driving and this happens you lose power steering and power brakes creating a potential hazardous situation. It is extremely difficult to steer and practically no brakes. If you hear this whining sound shut it down immediately and dont drive.I had my truck towed to a dealership about 10 miles under the 100,000 mile Chrysler warranty but would have had to pay the difference of anything over 10 miles (read the fine print). Ordered the parts. They were on backorder. I was told it would be approx. 3 days getting the parts. The dealership does not have loaner vehicles or rental cars. My RV was racking up $42.00 a day waiting on parts. I rented a car for $23.00 a day. Nearly $75.00 a day waiting on parts. The dealership would tell me every two days the parts would be there anytime. After 11 days I took my family home in the rental car and release it. I got a fellow RVer to tow my trailer to storage. I was given the price of parts and labor to fix the truck was $339.00.I called Chrysler Customer Care and talked to a agent named Patrick. He called the dealership and verified my information and said Chrysler would definitely take care of the cost of fixing the truck even though it was out of warranty. He said for me to pay the bill and gave me a link to upload the receipt and they would reimburse me. He also said when I finished with the rental car they would send me another upload link and they would review whether they would reimburse or not. (All sounds great huh? NOT.) I finished with the rental car and uploaded the receipts to Chrysler. The link could be used only one time.I called to get another link so I could upload the receipt for the repairs. I got an agent named Debbie. She said Chrysler would not take care of any of it and told me Patrick had misinformed me and wanted to know if I wanted to buy a service contract. She was a lawyer wannabe and would not move. Chrysler Customer Care needs to change their name to Chrysler WE dont CARE about our Customers Just give us more MONEY. As of this writing it has been 17 days with no parts in sight. Looks like I may have to go get my truck and tow it home and put third party parts to get it running again. If you are considering buying a Ram Truck read every one of the reviews above and prepare yourself to deal with all or most of the issues described. Remember!!! Chrysler doesnt care about its customers. Only getting your money!

Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and
Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and in some circumstances its new European/Asian owners has and continues to set higher and higher standards for not only our convenience, but always with safety in mind. And having had and witnessed some really bad automobile accidents, I for one am grateful for their due diligence. This document speaks to the topic of safety. The DEF System warning that shuts trucks down after some pre-defined distance is dangerous to all who own or operate one. Many of us spend countless hours in our trucks and often at remote locations. This piece of programming needs to be recalled and adjusted such that it does not shut down the truck, but simply warns the operator of the need for service as quickly as is reasonable. The Solution: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations such that they are benign but not ignored. The Benefits: Safety of all customers and consumers driving our highways. The call to action: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations. I purchased my second (new) Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 Dually 4X4 in July of 2013 from Allen Samuels Dodge on the South Loop in Houston, Texas in July 2013. Up until the circumstances Im about to describe, I can honestly say Ive been happy with the product and its performance. And, since I spend a significant amount of time in my truck with or hauling animals, reliability and safety is constantly on my mind. Getting stranded at any time is not an option although flat tires are often unavoidable on the trailers.December 2, 2014. I am a senior consultant for a small firm where we support an engineering software application that requires occasional out of state travel. This past December the firm received a call from a client that had an emergency and needed someone on site within 48 hours to assist them for a month or more. I packed, kenneled my dog and headed for Wilmington, NC from my home in Bellville, TX within 12 hours. I chose to drive due to weather conditions at the time, not wanting to get caught in any airport delays. Again, time was of the essence and with just under 48,000 mile on the truck had no reason to believe there would be any systems issues. The oil had been changed the day prior, tire pressure was good, DEF tank was full and I had just fueled up.December 3, 2014. I was sitting in traffic on I-10 just 20 miles outside of Baton Rouge, LA when the DEF System warning of the need for service within 200 miles needed to occur or the system would kick in a governor that would prevent the vehicle from going more that 5mph. I immediately contacted the Dodge dealership in Baton Rouge (Salsburys Dodge, 9550 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA (225) 926-8800). They were terrific, I had them replace the fuel filters and according to their accounting, they flashed the module and I was on my way in an hour and a half. Its now after 5pm. I needed to make Mobile, AL or beyond that night.December 4, 2014- February 24, 2015. I returned home on January 15, 2015, have had a couple of oil changes, radiator flush and new antifreeze added at a RAM dealership in Wilmington, NC, more DEF added to the tank and were now at 54000 plus miles. The late afternoon of February 24, 2015 I was heading home from Houston, TX and the DEF System warning came back on. Once again I have 200 miles to get service. Since the Tommy Vaughan Dodge Dealership is the closest to my home at this point and I had a good friend who had just purchased his RAM from them a couple of months ago, I headed in on the morning of February 25th. 100 miles before the DEF System programming will shut me down. I made the call to Tommy Vaughan and scheduled service for in the morning at 8am.February 25, 2015, 8am through February 27, 2015 4:30pm. The initial item noted was the need to replace the air filter. This did not resolve the DEF System error message as was suggested. The folks at Tommy Vaughan Dodge worked tirelessly for the next three days troubleshooting the issue and appeasing me. None of the module errors alerted them to the real issue. It took numerous calls to Chrysler by them and me to get technical support to their personnel with little or no success.I contacted my service manager at Allen Samuels to determine if she had experienced anything similar. She suggested it was the DEF System Pump. Additional diagnostics proved this to be true. Still no success with DEF System pressure through the injector. Turned out this needed to be replaced as well due to the failure of the pump. ONLY after much frustration (mine), the issue is resolved and Im back on the road. Three days later. Loss of work is 30 man-hours at a consulting rate and more frustration than you can imagine.A consumer at the mercy of failed manufacturer procedures. Total cost of repairs was just under $1300.00 (warranty on the DEF System parts had exhausted at 50,000 miles. I had just above 54000). RAM was not willing to help me out with the cost of parts and labor. The pump and injector should have been RECALLED in that nationally, there are 70 of these pumps on back order for RAM. What do the folks do that cant get parts? Lose use of their vehicle or is the DEF System temporarily by-passed, I wonder? So, why the long letter and what do I really want?I want the DEF System module that is programmed to shut the trucks down at 200 miles to be re-programmed such that you get the warning that the system needs service, but does not put me and countless other drivers like me across America in a potentially life threatening situation as a result of Clean Air Act mandates.I have hauled horses across the United States, served as the equine ambulance driver for horses that were on their way to colic surgery (two hours from a venue in Montana) and drive 75 miles one way to work each morning with animals and people at home relying on my safe return for their well-being. My 2013 RAM cost me $65,000.00 (it was my second in a two year period, I purchased my first $55,000.00 RAM in 2011).That all major automobile manufacturers put every single diesel truck owner in America in harms way is unacceptable. How many wrecks are caused because a driver was suddenly shut down to 5mph, or could not get to dealer within 200 miles to address DEF System issues? Why are 70 DEF System pumps on back order? How many are on back order for the other truck manufacturers? In my own case, the Columbus, TX service department had to go to Brenham, TX to get the replacement pump and to La Grange, TX to get the injector. And where I am grateful to their heroic efforts, what if I had been stranded in a far more remote location? With a 40 trailer and 8 horses in tow heading to an international event 3000 miles from my home? What is Dodge going to do for me then? Or FORD, GM, Chevrolet? What if the DEF System had been in place during Hurricanes Katrina or Rita or Ike? Would we have been shutdown on a crowded Freeway attempting to escape harms way? What about the next hurricane season? Emergency vehicles? What if youre in the ambulance thats headed to a hospital some 200 miles away and the DEF System warning occurs. Do you mean to tell me the ambulance will need to be out of service until a service department can find parts?I ask, do you have three days to wait for a situation that was completely avoidable? Im not a bureaucrat; Im just a working person. Like all my friends that own diesel trucks that are in the same situation Im in. Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down.Im all about cleaning up the environment meant even if its with a colorless, odorless product that can kill people and animals if accidentally ingested, and although Ive not tried it, I understand its pretty good at cleaning stains on concrete. But dont leave people stranded because of pre-determined mechanical obsolescence (in excess of 50,000 miles or is it base upon vehicle operational hours?).Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down. Thank you for your time and consideration. This document will be sent to all the major US and European automotive manufacturers and made public via DEF forums and all forms of electronic communications effective immediately including Consumer Report. Once this recall is in place to include the reprogramming of the DEF Module, I will follow-up with a thank you letter to all.

This will be a VERY short version. My husband and I have always worked, never had help from the government. Never had anything repoed or taken back. This was VERY VERY embarrassing & degrading! Bought our 2007 Dodge one ton truck. In 2010 we got behind on 2-3 payments and was contacting Chrysler each month to try to let them know we would send them money asap (I have all names and dates of all of this). Husband was working in Arkansas and the truck broke down, was told it was the fuel injectors. We had them fixed at the price of $3600. While the truck set at the dealership and we were waiting on our taxes to pay the bill, Chrysler contacted us and said they were repoing the truck. They felt that where the truck was sitting was dangerous and they would pick it up. We paid Chrysler $2025 to catch the bill up in full and take it off the repo list. Why would we pay them that much money if it didnt take it off the list of being picked up? Two weeks later they picked the truck up from the dealership where we had it worked on even AFTER paying the bill in full!!! The dealership was going to take all our personal belongings out of the truck for us but the repo company said not to worry they would do that. The repo company cleans out the truck and drags it to a Texas auction. We hired an attorney so we could get the truck back and continue making payments on it. We did not want it to go to auction then we have to pay that huge difference when it sold while someone else drove the thing around. Then we would have to buy another vehicle for my husband to go to work in. I go to Texas to pick the truck up. It has 3 new dents in it and the mirror is broke! When I pick up the truck in Texas I immediately go to Arkansas to the repo company to pick up my husband’s stuff. The repo company had stolen our GPS, some knives, a NICE pair of jumper cables made out of welding leads and several other things that were in the truck. Im pretty sure the dealership would not have stolen that stuff out of the truck I know that repo company did. Their office was an old house that was really run down and nasty, would not let my kids out of the truck while I was there. The repo company swears there was nothing else in the truck except what I picked up! They lied, Chrysler lied and up to date we have paid about $60,000 all in cashier’s checks. But Chrysler gets to make the rules up as they go along!! No one ever gets on to them or how they conduct business. Once we got the truck back and started making these ridiculous payment of $1270 per month it still breaks down. Still had to pay the $3600 for fuel injectors. The front tire and WHOLE rim fell off while driving down the highway pulling a camper heading to another job. Sparks were flying and it caught on fire. I wish we had no morals we should have let the dang thing burn! That was almost $3000. The thing is always in the shop! For what we have paid out in repairs we could have bought another truck!! Im teaching my kids and anyone who will listen NOT to buy anything from Chrysler!!

I purchased a 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie with a Cummins turbo diesel. The truck had 37,000 miles. A strong selling point was the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. At 40,000 miles, and three days after the first $700 payment the motor blew all the oil out locked up. The dealership would not even have it towed. It has sat on their back lot for two weeks and they cant even tell me whats wrong with it. I contacted Chrysler and was assigned a case manager and still nothing has been done and Im out $47,000 and on foot. Never ever again will I own a Chrysler product.

I manage a small ambulance service in rural Louisiana and have 3 Dodge Ram
I manage a small ambulance service in rural Louisiana and have 3 Dodge Ram 4500s. Cummins diesel. Two of the units are 4x4. At 37000 miles we had a total failure of the front U-joint that caused a catastrophic failure and burst a huge hole in the front transfer case that caused the unit to literally come off of the road and broke the transmission housing and pulled all the wiring harness out from under the unit. Needless to say we had to be towed and thank God there was no patient on board. The vehicle had only been placed into 4-wheel drive once since it was new and that was only to test it out to see if it worked. We maintain the vehicles every 7500 miles and that includes greasing the drive train. When we took the vehicle to our local dealer (big mistake #1) the service manager and his incompetent staff gave no less than 5 reasons why this had occurred. After each excuse was refuted they finally said that Dodge was refusing to warrant the vehicle due to maintenance neglect. They said that the front drive shaft had not been greased. There is no mention of the front U-joint grease fitting other than a small 1 inch by 1 inch sticker under the hood on the right cowl. When I asked all the other dealers in the region about the front U-joint they either didnt know that it existed or call in a maintenance free joint. I searched and searched for the grease fitting (which doesnt exist) and finally had a good local mechanic drop the front drive shaft and we found a small pressure hole valve that can be entered with a special device to introduce grease into the joint. The dealer blamed Dodge and Dodge blamed the dealer for not honoring the warranty. Both parties lying at this point. When the local dealer finally had our unit repaired after 3 months in the shop, the total bill was 16000.00 dollars. So the moral of the story is, if you have a 3500, 4500, or 5500 4x4 Ram you better drop your drive shaft NOW and put some grease in the port that no one knows about or you will be faced with a massive bill. It is also worth mentioning that you are supposed to do this at every oil change. The U-joint that the local dealer put in new was put in without grease, as I went straight to a competent mechanic and had the shaft dropped to find out. It took 16 zerks of grease before it filled. So basically they put a dry joint back in and we were headed back down the same road to destruction. The local dealer did absolutely nothing to help and therefore have lost years of routine maintenance work due to their sorry practices. Bad business decision. I know take all of units out of town for work. All Ram 4x4 owners better beware!!

My brother and I purchased a brand new 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 cc with 6.4 hemi from Tri- Cities Jeep/Dodge/Ram in Kingsport, TN. The night we purchase it 12 miles from the dealership, the loose gas cap light comes on then the check engine light. I continue on home because we werent done till 10 pm dealership closed. The next morning I go back, take it to service, explain what happened and they apologize, agree to usher right in to be checked. Three hours later they come get me and tell the gas cap was loose, I didnt tighten it correctly. It and check engine code reset, all is good. BTW I did not fill it up the dealership did. Later that same day, have driven my truck 43 miles since purchase, the lights come on again. The next day I return to the dealership and explain my displeasure and disgust. They tell me they need the truck for 4-6 hours to smoke test emissions system for leak which now appeared with loose cap light but they cant provide loaner car which is part of Car-Doc warranty I got with the truck. I schedule appointment for following Wed at 8 am. I took the truck in and set for 3 hours while they test it. The results are no leaks, has to be a loose gas cap, they flashed computer to clear codes, should all be good just be sure to tighten gas cap properly. This set me off, I have been driving for 25 years and surely have tightened a gas cap before as I explained to this young man. I proceeded to my salesman and asked for them to fill my truck up again, since most of my first tank of gas was used going back and forth to have light fixed. They did refill it. As I get on my street the light comes back on for the 4th time. I called back and told them I want it taken in and kept till fixed and I need a loaner for my business. I am told they dont have loaner trucks and I would have to wait on a list for a loaner car!!! I have owned several Dodges and used this dealer 3 times but I am thinking I am done with both. Should have bought Ford!!!!

From day 1 when I drove off the lot I called dealer and said brakes are squeaking and grinding. They said too bad get new brakes, lol. Yep seriously brand new van. So I have taken it for a weekly oil change for 2 months and said brakes are bad and have been told no it is my imagination. So now that the warranty is out they say I need to pay them 500 for new brakes. They are worn to metal on 2 month old van. The coolant leaks. There is a hole in the floor of the van, a mid-weld, the headliner does not meet pastis and is frayed, one recall cant be fixed. No parts and dont know when they will have them. The leaf spring bushings are bad and the van squeaks going down road. So 2 issues are dangerous safety issues. Chrysler will not fix anything. I had a 10 year old Sprinter that I should have kept. This is complete junk and Ram Chrysler has zero customer care. Do not buy one, this may put me out of business. The pic is the hole in floor. Notice you can see the ground outside

The state of North Carolina titled it as a Lemon. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TRUCK. In addition Chrysler Customer Service lied to me on three (3) occasions, so do not trust them to make good on what they tell you. The old Chrysler is dead and the new owner Fiat is not to be trusted. Driving a Dodge Ram 1500 would have gave it 5 Stars till the night if October 15, 2019. We hit a deer head on at about 90kph. The impact caused the truck excelled to high RPMS and took the brakes out and the knob gear shift Would not function. Heading down to a bridge under construction One lane. We knew we had to hit the ditch in pitch dark or be dead. Because of our speed we only caught the corner of the approach we spotted then a ditch. Miraculously we came out of it with just a fractured vertebrae. THIS TRUCK HAS SERIOUS DEFECTS BUT NO ONE WANTS TO OWN UP TO IT. Insurance company would like to fix truck and send us on our merry way. Transport Canada wants an investigation but now I’m told they took it to our nearest dealer and the mechanic deleted some codes that are important for the black box to be analyzed. I will never drive another Dodge. This was the scariest experience any driver could ever have. But we have lived to tell the story. I can only imagine how many are dead and can’t tell the story.

Dodge Ram 1500 2014 6cyl 4x4 purchased new. I had two problems with this truck. 1. Cruse control didnt work all the time. 2. Driver side electric window and door lock controller had to be replaced. These were the only problems I had. The transmission started acting up. Not shifting smoothly and lagging. This started after 80,000 accumulated miles. On the positive side this truck was a joy to drive. Easy to handle. Tracked straight and true in all weather conditions. Comfortable cabin that was quiet with an excellent stock stereo sound system. The electronics were easy to use, especially the blue tooth phone system. I drove this truck for a total of 5 years.

First of all Dodge Ram offer the most sporty truck out there. Its in a class by itself, other trucks look square. I love that theres different models to choose from to fit your needs. They have the most towing power and the most horsepower. I love the quad cab which can carry six persons and not to mention the style which brings class to there vehicles. The quality you get for the price which some vehicles fall short. Plus theyre long lasting, I own an 2003 and its still running and people are still complimenting me on how it looks. Transmission stopped shifting into 5 & 6 gears. Went from driving fine one day, to not shifting the next. No pieces of anything in pan when put on new valve body. Diagnostics keep saying new tranny. Not sure if its related, but the dashboard indicator lights quit working after I had a new electric brake installed. Sometimes they flicker and go out, other times they are just gone. Sometimes they work fine for weeks and others they work for a couple minutes and only work again after I pull off the negative battery cables. The lights and turn signals all work, they just dont show it. And that electric brake is no longer working either.

Just over 2 years ago I purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 from Vasko Dodge located near Canonsburg, PA. The truck has 23,000 miles on it. The truck currently has just over 36,000 miles on it. During my 13,000 miles of ownership to date, the following has been replaced or repaired on this truck (majority of which were sold to me this way): broken front wheel; air filter with 1/2 inch of dirt; windshield wipers; windshield washer fluid empty; front tie rod end; front coil overs/struts; repaired dent/rust on tail gate (Part of Sales Agreement/I paid a discount); tires; front brakes and rotors; rear brakes and rotors; transmission fluid; trans axle fluid; transfer case fluid; spark plugs; anti-freeze; fuel injectors had to be cleaned so engine would idle properly; gas cap; pressure sensor for gas tank (so check engine light would go out); and serpentine belt. I have an office job and all this truck hauls is a DVD movie and a bag of groceries on occasion. This truck is nothing a but a poorly built pile of junk and a money pit that has taken away from the quality of my life and caused me much stress and anxiety. Never again! I am done with Dodge.

We purchased what was supposed to be a new 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn Cummins motor crew cab dually. Well in all reality it was not. Had problems with the truck from day 3. Has a terrible lag, vibration, no power, will not hardly pull out of the driveway with a trailer on it. Dealer said, Thats not right. Bring it over. We took it over. They all do that we were told. Then why on the phone was I told there is something wrong. Come to find out the truck had apparently been bought and brought back. It had been worked on several times and was in service in Jan. when we purchased. In Aug. Dodge got involved and things have gone down since brake controller is out, cruise control is out, traction control is out, rear window leaks has a short in it somewhere, tires are wore completely out at 12,000 miles. ABS system works sometimes, exhaust brake works sometimes, uses oil about 1 quart per 1000 miles, fender flares falling off, running board falling apart, seat memory sometimes works, coolant light comes on, motor sounds like its going to blow, has a miss. Radio is going out map, light going out, not the bulb either, the map light itself. There are many more things going on. Dodge agreed to put us in another one but has to be of equal or less value so buyer beware. Do not buy a Dodge. We have talked to a lot of people that just give up and trade them off.

Bought the 2105 Ram Long Horn 2015 new 52,000.00. Had 4 recalls on it, not counting this last problem which I will describe. While the vehicle was under warranty the vehicle locked up in the rear up position. Could not change it. Dealer finally changed out the pump motor in December of 2017. This is October of 2018 and the vehicle is doing the same thing. When the new pump was put in I was told the parts and labor were covered for 2 years. What they failed to tell me was once the original warranty expired, that pump and the labor are no longer covered. So the new pump they put in 10 months ago is now going to cost me over 2,000.00 and the truck has 34,000 miles on it. Well, I am now going to buy a Chevy truck, and I pray my wifes 2018 Dodge Challenger holds up. Chrysler has stuck it to this customer for the last time!!! Do not buy a Dodge truck with that inferior air suspension. The 2019 Dodge Ram has a recall on the rear end before you leave the sales floor, so you are now warned about this junk manufacturer and their junk product!

Since there are many complaints, heres a positive review: Bought a 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn 4x4 Hemi truck new in December 2014 with every available option including air suspension. Everything has worked as it should since day 1, and now, almost 2 years later, I have 35,000 miles on it. The 8-speed tranny is smooth as silk and the hemi performs flawlessly. I tow a 3500-lb boat occasionally and have had no issues. I wasnt sure if Id like the Ram Box option, but there is so much storage for tools, trailer hitches, etc. that I love it. Sometimes when I pick up fast food to take home, I put it in the Ram Box where it stays warm and keeps the inside of the truck smelling new longer. My previous truck was a 2003 Dodge 2500 SLT 2WD, Cummins w/6-spd manual that I put 225,000 miles on, and other than regular maintenance, I changed the water pump twice, and the radiator once. Got 22 mpg city, 27 mpg hwy.

It has been strong, comfortable, durable along with a great towing package and the price was right. My favorite feature is the 2 person dual control on the AC/heater temperature and the dual seat temperature control. But they could do away with oil changes and make tires that do not have to be replaced. Other than that, it has been very trustworthy and never caused us any problem except for routine maintenance.

My husband bought me a 2011 Dodge Ram Buckhorn Edition truck for Christmas
My husband bought me a 2011 Dodge Ram Buckhorn Edition truck for Christmas in December 2010. Six months after we purchased the truck, there was a recall notice for the rear main seal. The original dealership we bought it from (Town & Country) replaced seal. Not even a week after this was done, there was a noise from the rear end. So after 2 1/2 years and 3 dealerships and 4 caseworkers from Dodge, my truck is still sitting at dealership and Dodge Tech still not responding on what to do. Rear end was replaced (all components) except main rear end frame. Then they thought it was a leak from the exhaust system. Received 2nd recall notice in January 2013 for bolt for rear end which Dodge has not even manufactured or has available as of August 2013. Now the noise is determined that it is between rear end and transmission (drive train). Took 22 foot trailer for test drive with technician. Now Dodges technician wants them to put 400 to 500 lbs in back of truck to see what it does. Whats the point? As of last night, Dodge caseworker was going to try and contact regional tech to see why he is not responding to dealerships request for further action. Needless to say I have printed out paperwork to file a complaint with Governors office under the Lemon Law. Will be sending certified letters to corporate office today and filing my complaint. According to Georgia Lemon Law, as I read it, if a vehicle is not available for normal use and has depreciated in value, it is considered a Lemon. I say I have a lemon.

This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away. Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (lets all say it together) plow snow. Why couldnt they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe its the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

I have had problem with this vehicle ever since Ive owned it! It has 52,000 original miles on. The engine oil pan is rotted, heat shields rotted and rubbing on the flywheel, electrical system replaced, rotted body no matter how many times it was repaired! Dodge/C has done nothing to help me But take my money. Purchased extended warranty, nothing covered - fed up! Stopped warranty, after multiple items were being denied, never was treated this way. Now starter 426.00 to replace, 965.00 for engine oil pan replacement, rotted heat shields on motor, trans heat shield rubbing. Dodge refuses to do anything but charge me up the you know what. I bought 4 vehicles from them and they never did one warranty or recall. Totally refused, waited almost 1 year on my jeep recall. Why dont you guys honor your vehicles? Im a disabled emergency worker who you keep taking advantage of!! Fix it!!

At 168,000 miles the bolts connecting the flexplate to the crankshaft stripped out. This ruined the crankshaft and flexplate and we are facing over $5,000 in repairs. We bought this truck (DODGE RAM 2005 3500 4X4 DIESEL DUALLY) because of the incredible reputation of the Cummins diesel and we are extremely disappointed and surprised this has happened. It was to be our lifetime truck.

I took my 2011 3500 Dually to the dealership in Sun City, AZ (Larry H. Miller) for service and was told that Dodge had a software update. I said dont do it because my last Dodge 2003 3500 Dually, Dodge made my fuel mileage go from 24mpg to 16. The dealership told me Dodge said I had to so they went ahead. Guess what happened? My mileage went from 17 to 11 on the hwy. Dont trust Dodge or your dealer.

I have been a brand loyalist since 1986. This is my 6th RAM truck. We factory ordered a 2018 2500 HD 6.4 SLT with the options we wanted and needed for towing. Truck was delivered 12/2017. The day after delivery we noticed an abnormal start up noise from the engine compartment. With less than 100 miles we took it into a local dealer for inspection. After 7 inspection, demonstration and repair visits. 21 days in service and 8 months of driving with a monoxide sensor on the dash. FCA determined that the truck exhaust leak could not be fixed. They offered to replace the truck or refund our money. We elected to order an exact replacement truck. Frankly, other than the exhaust leak, this is the best RAM truck we have owned. All other functions, features, performance and comfort are 5 star. We received the replacement truck 1/2019. At 80-100 miles the replacement truck developed the same noise. FCA, Ramcares and our dealer found it hard to believe that one customer could receive 2 factory defects for exhaust leak. We have asked FCA and our dealer to repair the leak. We are not going to order another truck or take our money back. This truck is going to be fixed. At this time we have not received a response to our request for repair. We have done a full investigation of this issue/problem. It is a known problem on some 2500 HD 6.4 trucks. The cause is in part the assembly process and in part the design and parts quality. We have gotten some great intelligent help from MOPAR parts people, RAM techs and the internet. We have decided to order the repair parts and have a qualified outside tech repair the truck properly at our expense. We will address FCA-RAM when the repairs are completed. Dodge-RAM has come a long way in product quality and customer satisfaction over the last 30 years. I believe the companys recent decision to have the head of RAM focus only on the RAM Brand will result in correction of these type of quality problems. However, senior management needs to get out in the field and engage the reputational risk that the brand is experiencing. The vendor parts quality issues and assembly issues can be fixed.

Bought a demo Dodge Ram 2015 Longhorn Limited EcoDiesel with 2400km on it.
Bought a demo Dodge Ram 2015 Longhorn Limited EcoDiesel with 2400km on it. On Thanksgiving driving on a HW with my whole family, noticed burning tire smell in cabin, and a smoke behind me. I have just done rustproofing and car was standing outside for 3 days without being used as per recommendation due to drip, but found it weird that the smoke appeared after an hour of driving, did not make sense. As I was pulling over to make sure my tires are not on fire engine shut down without a warning or any type of alarm. I was towing an empty trailer which was soaked with black engine oil and after checking the oil level, there was none in the engine. After towing my truck back to the dealer and diagnostic (500$CAN) was told that they found metal shavings in oil pan, the main crankshaft bearing failed = metal shavings spread, build up pressure that blew rear main seal and due to engine oil loss resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Since in Canada warranty is only to 100000Km and I am at 141000Km, it will not be covered by a warranty, and service manager, after showing me the bill for repairs told me I should of bought an extended warranty (thanks **, for a reliable product that I bought from your dealership). Called Fiat and any one I could think of, seemed that the system is stacked against consumer. Estimate for repair is 19000$CAN plus 26h of labour, plus tax. (oh and they are on a 2 week backorder since they only make 20/week) Towed my car on my own to US dealers who are currently installing my new engine (used cost 6500USD and new 9985$ USD) and labour is 23h to do the job (usually 2 business days or less to deliver new engine). In US it is 100000miles warranty and receptionist assured me that he will look into the warranty for me on his side, not holding my breath, but after dealing with all these issues and not having a car for a month, my trust in Dodge or Fiat products has been diminished. After doing a little googling for this particular issue, a lot of info out there, bottom line there has not been a Canadian/US class action movement yet although quite a bit of engine failures stats for 2017 - 19 Fiat EcoDiesel failures per week in comparison to Cummings 2/week. Not sure where they got their stats but will look into closely. Mine is a 2015 and has even worse rep as per online reviews. Depend on my outcome with America dealer when I pick up my truck with new engine in it (so far customer service has been 100% better). As for Canadian side, I will no longer buy a car there from any dealer due to heavy monopoly, price gouging and a very poor customer service.

I recently purchased a new 4x4 Ram pickup (2 months 11,000 miles). This is my 12th 4x4 and while a Ford man - (8) I have had a Toyota, Nissan, and 2 GMC. I am often off road hunting and fishing and getting where I am going. I am 45 and do not recreationally hot dog in the mud, but I typically drive them until they are DONE (this is my 4th new) the rest have been purchased with 100,000 - 150,000 miles and driven well into the 200s. Dont get me wrong, I am rough on them.My new Dodge lost transmission fluid. After pouring through the manual and under the hood, I found no dipstick to check the fluid nor any place to put it (5 miles from the nearest paved road). Called my dealer, and he said not to worry, call Roadside - everything is under warranty. $189 later it was towed to the dealer only to find a pinhole crack in an exposed PLASTIC transmission oil pan. Plastic? Exposed? On the underbelly of a 4x4? Really. To not just bash, I must say the customer service and Buying Experience at JTs Dodgeland of Columbia was exceptional and being my first Dodge, I love it - but exposed plastic underneath a 4x4 is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I have taken trucks where they should never go, run over trees, been yanked off of stumps, and so on. This Dodge had obviously had a stick of some sort kick up and hit the oil pan, which being PLASTIC allowed a hole to be punctured. It has yet to see any REAL tight spots. So I have paid 189 not covered and the bill to replace the plastic little pan and recalibrate the computer is $960. Had I poked a hole in something metal, I would chalk it up to cost of doing business. If Dodge wants to compete in the market for folks that really need 4x4, then get rid of, or use a skid plate to protect these fragile parts. We dont get much snow in SC, but we got plenty of mud, sticks, stumps, etc... After looking, a rock off the Interstate at 70mph could puncture (the 5.7 Hemi 8 speed is by far the smoothest, most fuel efficient truck I have ever had and is an absolute rocket) - the tiptronic (sp) transmission is BAD as well.

I purchased new two 3500 Diesel. One 2004 the other 2007. They both have had major issues with the front end. The infamous Death Wobble on both trucks began occurring around 40K. The 2007 was my wifes until it started the wobble. The drag link in the 07 broke clean on two different occasions. The first time was the night of my first childs wedding night. Went to back the truck up so we could load gifts and heard a loud Bang. The drag link sheared at the threads. I purchased a new link from NAPA and paid for their most heavy duty, lifetime warranty. Took the truck to an alignment shop and had it aligned and inspected (Ball joints, u-joints, etc.). A month later while driving at 80 mph on the Interstate I crossed over a bridge with a slight bump and the truck began wobbling and then bang!!. Wobbling stopped but I knew what had happened and coasted to the emergency lane applying the emergency (rear) brakes. When the truck was almost at a stop I pressed on the front brakes and the truck skidded. I got out and the driver side wheel was 90 degrees pointing out. The irony is I was on my way to a local dealer for a recall on the front ball joint. I had the truck towed to the dealer. They inspected the Ball Joint, said it was fine and then gave me a 6 line item list on what was wrong and needed to be fixed. $5500.00 estimate. I told the service writer to leave the truck alone and I would have it towed to a service facility that I trust. I replaced the Drag Link again, took the pile of ** to have it aligned again. The alignment owner told me to replace the front stabilizer shock and use Monroe brand instead of the Super Heavy Duty rock-n roll brands. They had had the best luck with Monroe. For the next three years I could only drive safely at top speed of 60 mph if I wanted to avoid the Death Wobble and possibly break another link. I will not let anyone else drive the thing for their safety. I put a more heavy duty tracking bar and an aftermarket stabilizer bracket on it. Still could only go 60 mph and feel safe. A few months ago I replaced the front hub assemblies and U-Joints.By doing so the truck feels like it did when I purchased it new. Now I can go 80 mph plus and feel safe. Regarding the 04, the front stabilizer tie rod broke and the truck doesnt Death Wobble any longer. Im tempted to leave the thing broken. Once a Dodge... Always a Dodge. Ill never buy Dodge again. Most DANGEROUS vehicles Ive ever owned!!! Im thinking the new Nissan with Cummins and Allison Tranny looks Real Good.

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Longhorn addition with the 6.7 Cummins diesel. My issue is with the 5 mph max de-rate feature. It has happened twice now. The first time it went off, it took the dealer 4 days to get a new injector for the def system. Now for the second time, my truck is 53 miles from a 5 mph limp mode and it is holiday weekend. I am stuck not able to use my $60000.00 truck because of this EPA GOVT BS! There needs to be another way. My truck runs fine, but I am forced to see my dealer for DEF service. WTF? There needs to be a fix. I will delete this DEF SYSTEM altogether or sell the truck. Love the truck and engine but not a fan of being told to report to dealer or drive 5 mph. That is socialism!

First I must say that I have had a lot of warranty work done to this vehicle already and that in itself is depression. The brakes however have been a problem since I purchased the truck. Since the first 100 miles I started seeing brake dust build up on my chrome rims. At 30 thousand miles I had it at the dealer for a sensor problem that was under warranty and asked them to check the brakes. I was then informed that I would need all new brake pads because there was a lot of rust on the brakes built up from not driving it as much. So the brakes were changed but the dust problem persisted. So with the price of gas going down I started using the truck more and more. (No more sitting and rusting). Now at 58 thousand miles it was in for the recall and more warranty work and I asked them to check the brakes again. It wasnt hard to detect a problem since I had a loss of power, heavy brake dust build up and when I stopped on a slight incline and put the truck in neutral it did not roll. I was informed by the service department that the arch enemy RUST was back but this time it was because of it being exposed to the harsh climate that I live in. Now I needed all 4 wheels not only brakes but calipers, rotors, pads brackets you name it I needed it replaced, because of RUST! What the dealer was going to charge me amounted to a down payment on a new truck. Although I could do the work myself I had a friend of mine who is a certified mechanic do the work for less than 1 quarter of the cost of the dealer. While doing the repairs he found that the rear axle seals were leaking and had contaminated my parking brake. So I contacted the dealer again and the seals are covered under warranty but, if you havent already guessed the parking brakes are not.Now after reading online and talking with certified mechanics this seems to be a widespread problem with Chrysler vehicles. So should this not be addressed by the National Highway Safety Administration? Perhaps these vehicles should be recalled. Brakes are a safety concern to everyone driving on the roadways, Are they Not? These vehicles are advertised as work horses and machines that are made to tow. So why cant they stop as well. Also after having aftermarket part installed and a few hundred miles later, still no brake dust, mileage has increased by almost 4mpg and it rolls freely when in neutral.

Since we have bought our Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 we have had nothing but problems. #1 stalls when driving. #2 put 4 trannys in it and dont pull anything heavy with it. #3 paint falling off it. #4 it revs up when just idling. The rpms shoot to 4 and back down. We have had everything possible fix that it may have been and it still does the same thing. Just crazy. Some people now days can only afford one vehicle and when they do they expect it to be a good one. I will tell you one thing if I can afford to get another one it will definitely NOT be a Dodge. With all these problems and not just this one there are a lot of complaints about 05 Dodges. I cant believe that only the States are buying back these vehicles. But I will tell you one thing. I have kids in my vehicle and if it stalls and someone get hurt there will be a big law suit. This is not good for business. From one unhappy customer.

The Ram 2500 Alpine radio is great! Way better than the GMC boise system (no highs no lows must be Boise) you heard the saying. Also power and towing are great on the Ram. I have 60,000 miles now and I am wondering why I bought the lifetime warranty. The only thing that has happened is I bought a Dcx tuner from a company online and it locked up the ecm and had to buy a new one because they knew I tried to install it and that obviously would not be covered under warranty. When I get oil changes we laugh about it now. I also like the seats, dash, the way the Taylor hooks up makes sense not like the GM who does not think about the ergonomic when they build a truck. Theirs is more like a car a crapy car. Also the GM is so quiet that I almost got t-boned by a ambulance. The suspension is so loose it feels like you can flip over if you turned hard. Its just not a real truck. Now Im not saying I dont like frills. My Ram has heated and cooled seats, front and back sunroof, all the frills the GM has and they work better. The GM people are rude, slick like an old TV car salesman. The Ram dealerships are normal regular people. Ram 5 stars, GM 0. Mad GM took the bailout your money you pay out of your check every week not tax money, your money.

Went to dealer about tire pressure light for my 2014 Ram 2500. Changed oil, rotated tires while there. Light was back on by the time I got home. Explained to them that it wasnt the tire since the driver side sensor was off, even after they rotated tires. They decided to replace tire anyway. Light was back on less than ten miles from dealer. Went back the fourth time. Now being told it is the RK module? Which is part of the radio (brain) of the truck. This is back ordered, and they have no time line on it. We purchased a new Dodge Ram 1500, Big Horn Edition, complete towing package/navigation. It has been in the dealer shop, quite a few times, more than any vehicle I have ever owned, navigation issues, tires worn out in 15,000 miles, can’t even roll down our back passenger windows without having your eardrums broken, the noise is horrendous, they say it fine, don’t roll down window. First time we opened rear window on cab, wouldn’t close, got everything in cab wet, they finally replaced cable after the third time at dealer, and I let “Everyone” in the dealership know of my disdain for my new truck. I have ticking issues now in my engine, they say its fine, its not!!! Then they checked my in cab filter during oil change, and they broke my filter box, I found pieces on floor after the oil change, they didn’t tell me, I went right back in with pieces in my hand, and they said, We will have to pull the whole dash out to fix/ replace it! I still am furious about this, I duct taped it all. Paint is so thin, I have chips in paint all over front, and sides!!! I had a 2009 Dodge Ram, with the 360 cu in in it, had 320,000 miles on it, only repair was a intake gasket and transmission valve replaced... NEW Is Not Better... Paid over $55,000 for a piece of junk, will never own another Dodge Ram again, I am done with bad trucks, bad service... Very frustrated.

We have 2 such pickups at this household and have exact same complaints. We paid over $1100.00 for a GPS/Uconnect system in these vehicles both of which are almost totally worthless. Both of these vehicles are equipped to tow Trailers and both are used to tow Rv Travel Trailers. This crappy GPS sends you on wild goose chases, back roads etc. Its not designed to be used in a tow vehicle at all but there it is and no one wants to step up to the plate and make even a small effort to fix the situation. The dealer says its a product installed at the factory which is not made by Chrysler. I say Chrysler installed it. Its their responsibility to stand behind it and make it work as its advertised to do.I recently went to Canada and it actually showed me driving through fields where no roads exist and the Rt 1 highway I was on has been there over 7 years. Driving south through Maine on Interstate 95, my destination was KOA Campground in Freeport. It told me to exit 95 43 miles before the campground which I done towing a 30-foot trailer. It then proceeded to take me on 5 different country 2 lane roads only to cross 95 two exits below where it told me to exit.Next issue, WiFi. A monthly fee of 34.99 is supposed to give WiFi service up to 150 feet from vehicle. Well that 150 feet is more truthfully 20 feet MAX and the service is so slow. The accessory timer built in the RAM (15 to 20) Minutes shuts power off before you can get connected to a website. This family actually likes both of these vehicles but the High Dollar accessories suck. We will not be buying another RAM Product Simply because of service from Chrysler sucks. The Dealer has tried a lot of things to help but I see it as their hands are tied from no support as Paul Harvey said, PAGE 2.

Since we got the Ram Dodge 2007 1500 pickup in 2008 from the dealership, the 4 wheel drive truck will all of a sudden die when I hit some bumps on our dirt road where we live (I am not 4 wheeling either, I have kids in the car). This happens randomly. We have taken it in now for 3 times. First time, they said they saw that it happened on the computer. However, the second and third time, they said they didn’t see it and that it was because my key chain was too heavy. Since 2008, it has died while driving on my dirt road at least 8 times. I just pray it never does it on a bumpy road, on the freeway or highway. Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t take it to the dealership anymore because they say it is because of my keys. Well, I changed it so now it is light so it can’t be that.

At approximately a year old we noticed a random chip above one of the headlights. You can tell it bubbled up and chipped off. The damage was not from a rock or an accident. We now have 2 different rust spots. One is on the end gate coming out from the dodge emblem and the other is right above the windshield. I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to buy back my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in desperate need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and trade up. I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles. Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty. The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friends in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this. So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine fixed. At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered. Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.

They are just trying to avoid the warranty. After researching, found out I am not the only one with the same issue. I guess the oil that was used for these engine causes the engine to seized between 10 to 20K miles. I am getting an Attorney at the moment to get a lawsuit going against Chrysler. Easy win...

I bought a 2015 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel back in April of 2015 from Rydell Dodge San Fernando Ca., on October 31th, 2015. I took the truck to Rydells Dodge of San Fernando for service (maintenance). After they were done, the service advisor told me did you do something to the coolant fluid? I said no, why? He replied because is a different color, is black and normally it looks green or pink. I said do you need to look into it? Is it safe to drive? He replied is ok, just make an appointment whenever you have time and bring it back.Drove home and curiosity got to me, popped the hood and surprise, it was not a different color only, there was oil in the coolant reservoir tank. Now, Im not a mechanic but a simple dipping my finger into the coolant showed me that it was oil, lots of it. Took it to a closer dealership Hunter Dodge of Lancaster Ca. As soon as their mechanic popped the hood and saw the coolant reservoir tank he declared it not safe to drive. Now, it has been in there ever since and today is Dec. 10th and still no truck back.

2020 Ram Longhorn seats are uncomfortable and painful. Beautiful truck however, it is undriveable due to the extremely poor seat design. The contour of the seat design hurts the legs and hips and was not thought out whatsoever, which destroys what would be a great truck. It is important to design a seat correctly to make your product driveable, what a complete disappointment and it is unfathomable how this could possibly pass testing. Ram needs to step up and rectify this issue immediately.

My 2011 Dodge Ram Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 built on 5/16/2011 and purchased on 7/24/2011 has an air turbulence problem in the A-pillars of the front doors. It has been to the dealer three times. Mine was built after they redesigned the door gaskets yet after 60 mph the turbulence becomes an issue. I cant find anything on this problem and if it is not a recall or in a TSB, Dodge doesnt seem to want to admit there is a problem or want to try and fix it. The doors were readjusted yet the issue is still there.

2004 Dodge Ram has been a good truck. Having some troubles now that it is over 150,000 miles but I have had limited work done. We love having all the space when we go to sporting events or travel out of town. We can also put our luggage on the back of the truck. And our dog loves riding on the back. However, its not a 4 wheel drive. We like to go fishing and when its muddy we cant go due to the fact we might get stuck.

I own a 1500 Ram Big Horn which was purchased new from Five Star Dodge Warner Robins. When I purchased the Ram I was told I was entitled to oil changes from Ram and 1 oil change from the dealership. Due to the low mileage on this vehicle I didnt need the service frequently and wasnt told by the dealership that there was a time limit in which this had to be done. Unfortunately on 7-5-18 I had service done which would have been the fourth oil service on the Ram Truck and was charged $36.13. I called consumer affairs and was told that service agreement wouldnt be honored due to the length of time and again I stated that the dealership made no statement when purchasing the Ram Truck about a time limit to the service agreement. I also purchase a 2016 Ram Truck Big Horn 4x4 from the same dealership which more mileage was put on this vehicle due to it involved being destine as a work vehicle and all oil changes were honored. I usually buy/purchase vehicle every 4 years and have considered buying another Ram Big Horn but feel that if I am going to be penalized for not driving and taking care of my purchase and the Ram company isnt going to honor an agreement due to time then I should seek other types of truck makers. I regret that for $36.13 that a company like Ram would want to lose a valued customer. This can be easily resolved by honoring an oil change at one of your facilities with a coupon. Please understand I feel at this time that if Ram will not honor this then will Ram honor their other warranties/services. Thank you and hope to be able to continue to do business in the near future.

Bought this 2015 Ram with 24k on it and since that it has been only problems. Truck has either engine (5.7L hemi on it) or transmission problems. It shakes and hard to start in morning and also, dont downshift in time, when it needs and the exhaust system rattle under the truck. And after a few seconds (30-40 to be precise) it downshift and truck moves. It also jerks the transmission. Downhill it wont change gears until you get to the bottom of the hill or if I step on gas to give more speed (crazy stuff). Also in reverse it make a pitch noise. Took to dealer a few times already but they keep saying they cant reproduce the problem. I suggest take a ride with mechanics. They denied. They update the software but no changes at all. If you buying a truck get a Toyota at least. It’s well-made.

Dodge Ram 1500 Ecodiesel defective. R 51 recall from Chrysler. The charge air cooler freezes up on these trucks. Chryslers solution is to put a tarp over your grill when the weather temperature is at a sustained 30 or lower temperature. Thats not an acceptable solution to the problem. Chrysler has no solution to the problem, instead they give you a tarp to put on the grill. Good luck trying to put that on in 30 weather. Do not accept the so-called solution to this problem. Contact a lemon law attorney as they do these cases on a contingency basis. It shouldnt cost you nothing to hire an attorney. I expect the class action suit against the Chrysler idiots.

This time $13,000.00 out of my pocket. My husband and I purchased a 2018 RAM 1500 SLT 4X4 the last week of May. BRAND NEW! Very first day brought it home, the gear became stuck in park. Would not budge. The vehicle did however get in drive the next morning to take it to the dealership, and became stuck in park again once there. The RAM company said they would send the part... ONE MONTH later the part arrived at the dealership. The truck still will not shift into any gears. Informed the customer service person at RAM and they are looking into the matter. In the meantime, we have to pay $558.00 per month for a defective product, that was advertised as a great RELIABLE product, and we are not even in possession of at the moment. Its not the dealerships fault. They did not make the defective truck. It is the manufacturer and product supplier that created this vehicle that you cannot even drive. Very angry with Dodge that they would not even test their own products before shipping to stores. Thank you for the headache, hassle of dealing with customer service people who could care less that you are out of money on a product you do not even have or can use, and the aggravation of a family of four now down to one vehicle. Will not recommend to anyone to buy. I want them to take back their defective product and void the sale. That is it! But you have to jump through numerous hoops to get them to take back their OWN defective product!!!

2008 Dodge Ram 3500 with a severe front-end wobble. I purchased this vehicle used from a Chevy dealership with 46000 miles on it. At 50000 miles I had a violent wobble that started at the right side of the vehicle, spreading to the left, then moved to the back of vehicle. This wobble shook all in the cab of the truck. I returned the vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased in April 2011. There was no problem found with the front of the vehicle, so the dealership contacted a local Chrysler dealership that had no knowledge of known front end problems but suggested it could be caused by a worn tire. This dealer rotated the tires, balanced, and did a front-end alignment, which was covered by an extended warranty I had purchased; yet no failed components were found. This death wobble (as shown on the net) continued and at the present time it is at a Chrysler dealership. I have been contacted by the business stating they found no failed components, so the insurance will not cover any repairs; but the dealership feels it is the steering box linkage, which can be replaced at one thousand dollars (my cost) without a guarantee that it will fix the problem. Chrysler has known about the problem for years and has not come up with a solution to a poor design and will not assist in any repairs. The problem is covered in issue #74 of the TDR (Turbo Diesel Resource) where it talks about possible repairs and after-market business, such a Genos Garage, where they are marketing a BD steering box stabilizer which they state “will eliminate the wobble.” I checked with the NTSB for complaints, only to be advised there have been no deaths reported caused by this wobble. I want consumers to use caution when purchasing a used vehicle 2500 or 3500 Dodge Ram, but I also know that all vehicles does not have the problem or just not reported.
