Ram Automobile Model 2011 Dakota
I purchased a used 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. Right after I did, it had a shake and grinding noise in the front end, so I took it in. They never put it on the lift; they just drove it and said there was nothing. I took it the next day to Dunn Tire. They found 2 tires with broken belts, so I had all 4 replaced. I told Fox Chrysler Dodge and they did nothing and said they couldnt hear the noise. Also, when I bought the truck before, as we were making the deal, there was a rust area on the driver side box wheel. Well, they told me they put new metal in as requested but it has started bubble rusting through. I have all the receipts from the 2 wheel bearings; I had to replace the tires, plus the rear end was leaking when they had it in once - I pointed that out and they never fixed it. I have the receipts from that also. I went to the Better Business site and filed a complaint (also the state DMV). I need help. These crooked dealers need to be stopped.
I have ordered a new 2013 Laramie Quad cab 4X4 1500 pickup. There was some confusion in determining what items were standard, etc. So after I ordered it, I wanted to build it on your Ram Trucks site to verify the options, etc. Your site just does not work and to this day, I cannot build the truck I ordered. I became so frustrated that I considered cancelling the order even if I lost my earnest money and purchase a Ford or Chevy. I cannot understand why any management group would allow a sales site to be online that is so terrible and basically does not work property. If I were a shareholder of Chrysler, I would show up at the annual meeting and see if I could get a reasonable response. I am sure as a repeating customer I have no influence.
I bought a new Dodge Ram Lodestar edition 4x4, 2012. It has around 6000 miles on it. At 35 mph, I can hear a whistling noise when I let up on the gas (not changing the speed). I can tap the gas pedal and make it sound like a person whistling and I can change the tone also. It has been at the shop for 3 weeks and they came back and said it’s road noise. When I dropped it off, I let a tech go with me on a ride - he could hear it and he did. He said it should not make the noise. Now I have a new truck I cant drive due to the noise it makes
2014 Ram 3500 with 49k, we are on our 2nd set of tires due to wear on the outer edges. Had the truck in the dealer multiple times and everything is within specs to them. If youre in the market for a new Ram 3500 this will give you something to consider when making your decision.
My Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 SLT pickup has a severely cracking dashboard, and it has been an obvious manufacturers defect for many years. It is getting to the point where the dash could become dislodged in pieces and either fall into the dashboard area or worse, shatter in sharp pieces in the event of a collision. I called the customer service 800 number and was told that even though I am the original owner of the vehicle, that Dodge would do nothing to make my vehicle safe for me and my kids because there were too many miles on the truck. Sad thing is that the truck has been an excellent vehicle, fun, completely reliable, and I wont buy another Dodge product because they wont fix a cosmetic issue that could be very dangerous.Short sighted corporation, as I would have bought another Dodge in a heartbeat, but not now.
I bought this 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 new in 2001. Im still driving it and loving it 18 years later. Ive had some maintenance but what vehicle wouldnt after 228,000 miles. The maintenance was minimal compared to what it should have been. The 5 year battery in it I installed in 2009 and its still working in 2018. It doesnt look very good but I dont care. Its the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned.
We are coming to you for help, on June 14, 2018 our 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 with only 8,200 miles on it broke down on our way home in SC at midnight. Leaving us and our 2 children stranded on the side of 95. Chrysler warranty only covers towing to closest Dodge dealership. This is how we ended up with our vehicle at Plaza Dodge dealership. We are getting the runaround from the service Dept (Jon) & warranty guy handling our case (Tim). They have had our vehicle for 3 weeks with no end in sight. Last week we were lied to by both Jon & Tim about what was wrong with it (saying it was the rear overrunning gear) and that parts had been ordered. On Monday this week Jon called and said that no parts have been ordered, in fact our transmission had not been taken apart or touched all last week. On Tuesday this week Jon called my husband and said now they believe it to be a seal in the transmission and have ordered parts but it will now be next week for them to come in. He then turned around and called me and said some parts had been ordered but some were on back order and he did not know when they would come in. This truck is not only our personal truck (we tow our camper with this for our son’s travel ball tournaments) but it is also my husbands company truck (we own Marsh Lawn Care). We need it back or answers. We only have had it since April 27. We bought it brand new from Cary Auto Mall. We called them on June 14 to see if they could help us since we had just bought it and were told “why would we help you, we are not reaping the benefits of the warranty work”. I think all Dodge Ram consumers should know how poorly the new trucks are built & how little help warranty company is in getting them back to you in a reasonable timeframe.
While driving around 60+ MPH the truck will rock or sway out of control till you go down. It gets worse when Im pulling my small (single axle) trailer. Probably wont buy another Dodge. It is embarrassing and DANGEROUS!
My husband and I purchased a 2018 RAM 1500 SLT 4X4 the last week of May. BRAND NEW! Very first day brought it home, the gear became stuck in park. Would not budge. The vehicle did however get in drive the next morning to take it to the dealership, and became stuck in park again once there. The RAM company said they would send the part... ONE MONTH later the part arrived at the dealership. The truck still will not shift into any gears. Informed the customer service person at RAM and they are looking into the matter. In the meantime, we have to pay $558.00 per month for a defective product, that was advertised as a great RELIABLE product, and we are not even in possession of at the moment. Its not the dealerships fault. They did not make the defective truck. It is the manufacturer and product supplier that created this vehicle that you cannot even drive. Very angry with Dodge that they would not even test their own products before shipping to stores. Thank you for the headache, hassle of dealing with customer service people who could care less that you are out of money on a product you do not even have or can use, and the aggravation of a family of four now down to one vehicle. Will not recommend to anyone to buy. I want them to take back their defective product and void the sale. That is it! But you have to jump through numerous hoops to get them to take back their OWN defective product!!!
2012 dodge ram 1500 - I have been having issues with the vehicle jerking while Im stopped. Took it to dealer and they said it did it, but they cant find the problem. Then the suspension creaks when going over a bump, replace shock and sway bars. Taking back in tomorrow to get it figured out for the 6th time!
2010 Dodge Ram - My truck makes a squeaky noise from the motor, and Im told its normal; some do it and some dont. It starts when it warms up after about 1-2 minutes and continues while idling. I have one more garage to check on it, but the dealer it was purchased from says its normal. I find this hard to believe. I am hoping for a solution. I have 4 friends with the same truck, same year and no noise. I feel as though Im not being told the truth.
I have a 2007 Dodge Longhorn Ram 3/4 ton Diesel 6.7 engine. Dealership tells me the engine is too heavy for the front end. At 55,000 miles, both front universal joints had to be replaced and brake pads were also replaced. Also, it needs ball joints replaced. Dealer tells me the front end is designed for the 5.9 engine, not the 6.7. To get all the repairs done, it will be $2,000.00. I bought the truck new from the same dealership. The service was to going to be done by them. Has Dodge mess up to the problem or are they going to pass it on to the consumer?
My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.
1997 Dodge Truck - The clear coat has peeled off most of the hood and cab top and is spreading to the front fenders. It cost me almost $1,800.00 to repair the front suspension because there was no fitting on any joints. The fresh air intake allows trash to enter the system, which will build up over a 30 amp resistor and start a fire. It took almost 3 months to get the smoke smell out. Dodge installed a new resistor but did not repair the melted heater housing, which also affects the A/C during the summer.
Jan. 2017 have ignition switch go bad. Was changed 4 times on 2015 Ram 1500. Talked to a dozen reps. They dont know what to do cause ignition switch is a sealed unit and they dont know what else to do. Called again 08-14-1017 and awaiting another call back that 9 out 10 times they dont know. I received a recall on the airbag. Guess they cant get that right either. If they think I am going away theyre in for a surprise. If it were in another state other than Louisiana I could use the lemon law.
On October 2015 I purchased this truck. The same day as I was driving I heard a high to low rumbling noise. Took it back to dealer for service. Changed front axle shaft, noise continues. After 3rd time to dealer, they contacted Chrysler and were told this noise was normal. Very annoying noise at 70 mi an hour. Traded in a 2012 Ram, no problem with noise (both trucks are 5.7L, 4x4s). Has anyone had this problem? Help! Annoyed in Chicago.
I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodges refusal to do a recall. I guess they wont because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodges negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.
Car stopped running at 65 miles an hour. Engine seized due to slushy oil from over heating. Called dodge since I read a lot of complaints of this on the internet. Nothing was done.
I have 2007 Quad Cab 5.7, never off a paved road, mostly highway driven. I have had to have 4 sets of struts replaced because they leak. Truck has 32k miles on it.
I just wanted to say I am disappointed with the rear coil spring suspension on my 2012 Dodge 1500. I have an enclosed trailer that weighs 2,800lbs and may have around 1,000lbs in it. The rear of the truck drops down drastically. I know the coil spring suspension gives it a better ride, but it ruined the carrying capacity. The fuel mileage has gone from 17.5 to 15.5 in the past week and I have not pulled anything or changed where I purchased the fuel or the grade of fuel. Maybe that will improve over time. Now I just have a truck that I really cannot use to its full potential.
At 168,000 miles the bolts connecting the flexplate to the crankshaft stripped out. This ruined the crankshaft and flexplate and we are facing over $5,000 in repairs. We bought this truck (DODGE RAM 2005 3500 4X4 DIESEL DUALLY) because of the incredible reputation of the Cummins diesel and we are extremely disappointed and surprised this has happened. It was to be our lifetime truck.
I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to buy back my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in desperate need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and trade up. I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles. Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty. The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friends in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this. So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine fixed. At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered. Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.
I purchased a 2017 Ram 3500 crew cab dually Laramie edition for my hauling business. Within the first week I was at the dealer with a complaint about wind noise coming through the back cab. They sent me to their glass department where I was told the back window wasn’t properly set from the factory. They said they have seen this before and the only way to fix it was they remove the back window and replace it. Being that the truck was only a week old I was extremely hesitant but agreed to the repair. Two weeks later I was back with the same problem and now when it rained water would come in and drop down the rear seat. I took it to another Ram dealer and this time was told after several test drives with their body technicians that the seams on the back of the cab were not formed together correctly and that’s where the wind noise was coming from not the rear window. Their solution for the repair was to remove the bed, fix the seams, repaint the back cab and then reinstall the bed. They would also take out the rear window once again and try and reseal it. I declined the repair and will be trading my brand new 68k truck in for a different brand. I have called Ram advanced support team and they have refused to take the truck back and give me another one. They said I must go through the repair process before they will discuss any further options.
In May my engine light came on. Now in November after 12k miles and 25 actual documented trips to service we still have same issue with Def system problems. Dealership, dodge and Cummings are all involved. Its going in again next week to install a device to monitor the truck from another location as well as a new pump and another sensor that has been replace multiple time. This is my everyday driver and being without a truck like this is not useful. In the 25 times I have been given a car once (had to be jumped 1/2 mile away to get back home) and a 1/2 ton old Chevy truck 3 times. Chrysler has given me a case manager and somehow my case was closed last week, I call inquiring why and they couldnt tell me but started a new one. Anyone else suspicious? 5 times so far the computer has threatened to shut down in 200 miles and instructs getting to dealership. So next week is 26 times in the shop since May with my everyday 5500 work truck with a dump landscape box, tool boxes, snow plow and computer stand installed in truck. I wish I could take away everyone elses computer until this truck is fixed.
I happen to recommend Dodge trucks. Yes they have a power steering problem based on the tires being too big for the system installed. I own an 03 ram 4x4. In 04 I had steering problems, I bought a custom rack and pinion for 300 bucks, new greasable ball joints (the originals go dry and hard on steering) and the tallest narrow tires I could find. Along with a 35 dollar steering pump from jegs 4x4 so in total about 500 bucks. Its now 2014 and my Ram is still proving why I have nothing but Dodge trucks for the last 20 years. Every truck has it habitual problems (Chevy trans), Ford rear ends blown, Toyota body and frame rusting early. But if you own a truck and your dealer cant fix it, you need a new dealer!!
Dash is cracked beyond repair which poses a hazard for cut fingers and also if I were in an accident piece of plastic dash would impale me.
My husband and I co-signed a new vehicle loan for our son, Shawn **. He purchased a 2014 Dodge Dart from Towbin Dodge in Henderson, Nevada. He 2/15/2014, the car has been pretty good, however the air conditioner went out on it in May 2014. He had purchased every optional package of protection for this car that was available taking it from $24,855.00 to final cost of $30,424.38 not including the interest that will be paid by the time the loan is final and paid off. However after the kids fought with Dodge here in Kingman, AZ and got nowhere, I called Towbin Dodge and explained what was going with the car and that our local dealer doesnt want to mess with it, would rather just shovel crap at the kids. So they took the car and dropped it off at Towbin Dodge... Today Towbin called Shawn and advised that his car was going to cost $700.00 to fix the air conditioner. They advised him the air condenser unit was bad, as well that it was due to a rock? I find this ridiculous, the condenser unit is located in a very well lets say hard to hit with a rock if you were aiming. The car was only 3 - 3 1/2 months old. If a rock really did fly up from underneath, find its way around the radiator through the spinning fan blades, back around the water pump and back upward flying into the condenser... I would have thought something else would have been damaged along the way.Relative to this subject, if a rock from a road can so easily make its way past the lower protection plates, and above stated scenario wouldnt this be a problem for all Dodge Darts? I dont believe that this is this case. I believe the dealerships are not wanting to take care of this matter. They treat the kids just like kids and shoveled crap at them today. I was unable to attend due to work. I just dont buy it! Please help me or point me in a direction to get this taken care of without the flimsy reason that they gave and giving no other options but give us money. Optional Packages purchased with car: Oil Changes, Lifetime VSC, Polysteel, Red Alert, Ultimate. Thank you for your time, I sincerely hope you can head me in the right direction.
Ram 1500 - A bunch of yellow lights came on, on the dash. I took it to the dealer and they found my front hubs are cracking and almost came completely apart! Does anyone know if this has been an issue with all of the problems associated with Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler?
I have already stated before about our exhaust filter issues (PDF). Thats been a journey. The truck still does not regenerate. Now, I wanted to note how dirty Chrysler plays their role. We were in a gravel drive to discover we needed our 4 wheel drive because they had some good gravel in drive. For us to discover the transfer case was out. Our 2015 5500 truck stayed in the shop for 31 days. I asked for a little help on downtime and Chrysler fights that they even go into my fb page to copy pics and any sayings I had posted to go up against me. Ok, now, were dealing with a shortage in the truck. And also at night LOTS of dampness and moisture gets in the truck. Our things inside even gets wet. We get sick. If you purchase a Dodge vehicle you are stuck with all issues. We never was offered extended warranty. I realize that and Chrysler turned us down. Said it was too late cause we had 65,000 miles on it. You know why they denied extended warranty? Because they know they sold us a lemon. And must I add... They go out of no way to make anything right. We also had problems with the hogshead leaking. That put us out of work for a while also. The transfer case was not replaced the front end. They just replaced gears. Which means later, all the metal that was grinder is going to cause more problems.
Have had an issue with the gas mileage on my 2013 Ram Longhorn since I got it. Can only get 15 to 16 MPH on the highway with ECO engaged. I have owned a 2007, 2009 (the best one with 19 to 22 MPH) and a 2011. None of the previous trucks ever had MPH that bad. Four trips to dealer and all I get is the ECO is working fine. Have 36,000+ on it now and still no improvement. Numerous electrical problems too. Pretty sure, I will not buy another Ram.
Truck bought used with very low miles same year of model. Truck maintained, waxed, etc. Paint has totally come off, rust and mold began to form. Dodge says nothing wrong...sure!!! History has shown Dodge trucks do not hold paint and you will need a paint job eventually.
2013 Ram 2500 bought new. Constant on going electrical problem well documented with Chrysler. Chrysler refused many times to help with trade or buy truck back. Truck explodes in fire and Chrysler tell me they are not going to fix it or replace it even with the fact it is under warranty. Fact, these trucks are dangerous, fact Chrysler is a dangerous company and will not play by the rules. Search web for fires and other life threatening events with Chrysler products. We could have been killed. Stay clear of Chrysler products.
I bought my Ram 1500 new in 2015 with every tow option available. During the summer months (May-Mid September) I tow a 3,500lb boat about every other weekend... this was the sole purpose for buying this truck. This August while towing the boat the transmission failed to downshift (with a loud BANG) twice, then we got a check engine light, and the transmission reached 280* before being able to get off the highway. The truck was towed to the nearest dealer. The dealership told me there was no overtemp history in the computer and replaced just the valve body and filter. Ever since the repair the transmission regularly runs hot (up to 237* while not towing, usually in the 220s) and does a sporadic slip-bang shift.I opened a case with Ram Cares and got it into another dealership, they couldnt reproduce the problem. The mechanic told me that Chrysler only allows them to replace the valve body or the entire transmission under warranty (if the fluid is burnt), but he felt there was a problem with the heat exchanger for the transmission. When I picked up the truck the service advisor told me (after seeing my many pictures of the trans temp gauge reading 220s and 230s) that even though he cant do anything under warranty right now he thought the transmission would most likely fail before the powertrain warranty expires. This is a problem as Ive already been stranded once while towing my boat. The Ram Cares rep said Chrysler stands by the dealership and my request for further diagnoses OR a warranty extension on the transmission has been denied... this to me means that Chrysler doesnt have confidence in the transmission... a warranty extension would only cost Chrysler money IF the transmission fails again.
2018 Ram 2500 with 6.4 Hemi. I have a humming sound coming from the engine bay area. Also lifters rattle like an old Ford truck I used to own. Took it in and was told it was normal. Not happy but what.
Bought a 2013 Dodge Ram. At 122000 Mi started to get a lifter tick in it. Took it to the dealer, was told for the amount of $9,000 I needed to replace the engine. Apparently Chrysler released a service bulletins with this very problem Im here. I have been a loyal Dodge owner for 30 years but to be left out here hanging on here and basically told too bad your $50,000 truck is a piece of junk is disappointing at best. I will never buy a Dodge product ever again.
I just traded my 2nd Dodge in from a 2010 to a 2012. I took it to the dealer for a problem with no A/C not coming out of the back of my crew cab and console not locking and a banging in trans when I go from park to reverse and drive. I was told it was okay but they have to order a center seat console cover. I took it back when cover came in and told them A/C was still not working and trans was still banging into gears. I was told the cover did not fit and they wanted to drive my truck to the place that installed leather 180 miles roundtrip and the trans was put on computer and it was fixed. But I did not want to have someone drive my truck 180 miles to order cover and I would come back but they never called me back, so I went to pick it up and they were closing but was told trans was okay and it is still banging. I want to bring it to a service center closer to my home, 07074, but no one will give me a loaner car.
I have purchased 3 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel trucks in the past 5 years, and I have had issues with all 3. The latest being today. #1 18DOD: Diesel driveability. Cust states vehicle wont start. NO CRANK CHK AND REPORT. Work performed by TYLER **. Installed 68089322AG: MODULE: Totally Integrated P [email protected]. Hazardous Materials Charge. No start. No crank. Loss of communication with TIPM Module. Removed and installed new TIPM Module. Reconfigured TIPM Module. Vehicle now starts and runs. The car was parked in the parking lot of my office for 8 hours and would not start, not even a sign of life when I put the key in it. They told me at the dealership the module problem was most likely from overheating. The truck was sitting in a parking lot. I dont think RAM gives a ** about me or the parts they use to make a vehicle for the public, however I do know this. I WILL NEVER BUY A DODGE RAM VEHICLE.
Took trip to Calgary. Needed fuel filters. Tried to get service on a Saturday. Couldnt get service. Here are some of the things I was told. Bear in mind this is a NEW DODGE DIESEL (OWNED LESS THAN A YEAR): This is our busy season so you will need to book after Wed. We dont have a mechanic in on Saturdays and one of the filters is tricky. It will leak if not done properly. Try Mr Lube. Mr Lube says too new a vehicle, we dont stock these filters (also remember I was told one filter is tricky so why would a dealership suggest Mr Lube). Sorry, we dont have these filters in stock.
Overall the truck is a good truck, has lots of features. I would recommend a test drive and purchase. Just like all vehicles now days, are overpriced, by being over inflation. The big screen on the dash is the biggest in the industry. Truck seems to be solidly built. Lots of electronics for a pleasant drive. The power of the diesel is a great asset with the four wheel drive.
I purchased a 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie with a Cummins turbo diesel. The truck had 37,000 miles. A strong selling point was the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. At 40,000 miles, and three days after the first $700 payment the motor blew all the oil out locked up. The dealership would not even have it towed. It has sat on their back lot for two weeks and they cant even tell me whats wrong with it. I contacted Chrysler and was assigned a case manager and still nothing has been done and Im out $47,000 and on foot. Never ever again will I own a Chrysler product.
I purchased a New Dodge Ram Ecodiesel pickup in November of 2017. It was one of the first ones made after the emission updates. The truck will not run properly after it sits overnight in cold temperatures. The dealer has had it in the shop at least 6 times. They tell me that Chrysler is working on a computer update for the problem. I did hire Lemon Lawyer, but they havent helped at all. This is my first and last Chrysler product! I havent seen the truck for almost a month. My dealer did give me an old truck to drive. But, that doesnt seem fair when Im making payments on my new one. I just want some answers and to get rid of this piece of crap. I use my vehicle for my office. I am on the road selling 5 days per week.
I received a recall notice on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 for a seal that was defective. If it was repaired they said they would pay for the repair. I supplied them with all the receipts of the repairs. The total was almost $2,400. The representative calls me and tells me they are not going to pay the claim since the credit card used was not the name of the vehicle owner. It was my father-in-laws card since I did not have the money at the time to pay for the repair. So Dodge agreed it was defective but uses some lame loophole that since it wasnt on MY credit card, they would not pay. I suggested they just pay the cardholder then. Of course they denied that as well. So basically they admit they were liable for the repair but found a way out of paying for it.
1997 Dodge truck paint peeling off in mass - Lousy Dodge/Chrysler paint. Beware spending big bucks on a Dodge Ram or Chrysler product. The paint has peeled off the hood, top of the cab and almost every horizontal surface. It is also creeping down the sides. It is like a time bomb. It started about 4 years ago, like a timer went off. My last Dodge truck for sure. $2,500.00 to repaint. They have to strip it. I have friends with other brands of trucks with more miles and as old. They still have their paint.
The area made on the truck for attaching the running boards tore apart and running board on driver side released from truck. The truck performance retailer who installed it said this is the 2nd one he has seen...
1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel is now 20 years old and no engine issues but have replaced low pressure fuel pump due to factory issue. Steering is a little loose due movement of steering box so installed a stabilizing bar and much better but it is another factory issue.
I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, which I purchased in November 2010. I purchased it because my 2009 had a gasoline leak, which my mechanic found. When I took it in, I also took it in for AC/HACV recall. They refused to allow me to leave with my truck. They said it was too dangerous, and they had no loaner. Now I own a 2006 Dodge Diesel, and this 2010, plus I have had nothing but Dodge products for the past 14 years. So when they refused my request, I asked them what I was supposed to do to get home and that my job required that I am on call as the Crisis Center Director 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and my husband is the EMS Director for Atascosa County and he is also on call 24/7. Neither of us could be without a vehicle. Also note I was 32 miles from home. When nothing else could be done, I was told I could trade my 2009 for a 2010. So I did, because I needed a vehicle immediately. I lost the lifetime warranty on the 2009 Dodge. By the way, I am also a senior citizen aged 65. When I took the 2010 in for the recall last week, I asked about the plastic discoloration on my truck handles. The truck is a beautiful red, pretty and shiny; but the handles make it look bad. I have not damaged them in any way. I was told thats just how it was and they could do nothing. I want you to know that the quality of this trucks plastic is horrible both inside and out. When I trade again, should I have to, Im sure they will lower the trade-in price because of the handles and plastic; and that is not my fault. I believe you care about what people think, so Ive taken the time to write and inform you of this issue.I have always used this dealership and salesman for years, but Im very disappointed in your product. Too bad, you dont care enough to make sure your dealerships show the same respect to people.
Apparently, Dodge has no dashboard alert for software that needs updating. I stumbled onto the need only when trying to get smogged. The update cost us hundreds at the dealer, and the extension for the smogging also cost money. Had there been a dashboard alert this would not have happened.
Absolutely love my 2015 Ram1500. Diesel engine has great performance and economy. Not one complaint. Electronics and interior finish is first rate. I did find two insignificant paint flaws that cannot be seen unless you are lying on the ground.
My wife and I own two Dodge Rams. A 2003/4.7 and a 2005/5.7. Recently, the 03 lost oil pressure so I had a friend that is a mechanic trained by a Chevrolet dealer assist me in repairing my truck. We pulled the engine and took it apart to find that the oil pan was painted on the inside from the factory and the paint began to peel away plugging up the oil pickup causing the loss in oil pressure.I have built many older cars and have never had a oil pan that was painted on the inside. I am worried now that our 05 ram will have the same issue. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would paint or use some type of coating on the inside of a oil pan. We have gone to great lengths to take very good care of our trucks and this truck has just under 90,000 miles on it.The good thing out of all of this is that I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil along with Z-MAX and after inspection of the engine, it seems that the engine is fine. I personally took a wire wheel and got all of the paint out of the oil pan along with a new oil pump and pickup other new parts and am putting the engine back in soon.I dont know how one might get compensated for this but it would be nice! The big question is how many people have had this issue and took there truck to be repaired just to be told that it was something else and paid a lot of money. Is their any way to find out about this issue and what if any that Dodge might do to fix this? How many other makes have coated oil pans?
I have been a brand loyalist since 1986. This is my 6th RAM truck. We factory ordered a 2018 2500 HD 6.4 SLT with the options we wanted and needed for towing. Truck was delivered 12/2017. The day after delivery we noticed an abnormal start up noise from the engine compartment. With less than 100 miles we took it into a local dealer for inspection. After 7 inspection, demonstration and repair visits. 21 days in service and 8 months of driving with a monoxide sensor on the dash. FCA determined that the truck exhaust leak could not be fixed. They offered to replace the truck or refund our money. We elected to order an exact replacement truck. Frankly, other than the exhaust leak, this is the best RAM truck we have owned. All other functions, features, performance and comfort are 5 star. We received the replacement truck 1/2019. At 80-100 miles the replacement truck developed the same noise. FCA, Ramcares and our dealer found it hard to believe that one customer could receive 2 factory defects for exhaust leak. We have asked FCA and our dealer to repair the leak. We are not going to order another truck or take our money back. This truck is going to be fixed. At this time we have not received a response to our request for repair. We have done a full investigation of this issue/problem. It is a known problem on some 2500 HD 6.4 trucks. The cause is in part the assembly process and in part the design and parts quality. We have gotten some great intelligent help from MOPAR parts people, RAM techs and the internet. We have decided to order the repair parts and have a qualified outside tech repair the truck properly at our expense. We will address FCA-RAM when the repairs are completed. Dodge-RAM has come a long way in product quality and customer satisfaction over the last 30 years. I believe the companys recent decision to have the head of RAM focus only on the RAM Brand will result in correction of these type of quality problems. However, senior management needs to get out in the field and engage the reputational risk that the brand is experiencing. The vendor parts quality issues and assembly issues can be fixed.
Dodge RAM has had a long-term, well-known problem where sometimes when the driver hits a small bump in the road the truck starts shaking violently and wont stop until the truck slows way down. The claim is that it has been fixed in the 2013 model but it has happened to my 2013 RAM 3500 three times. The truck has 13000 miles and is in perfect condition. I took it to the dealer and at first he claimed that hed never heard of the death wobble. I showed him dozens of internet articles, including references to many notices to the dealers about this problem. After that he admitted that he knew about it but said there was nothing he could do. He inspected the truck and said that it looks perfect. Only it still has the death wobble. Now what?
We bought this truck with 4000 miles on it. A demo wrecker. Big, strong, able to handle what we could throw at it. Unfortunately, have had nothing but an issue out of the def system. Hard to keep a wrecker on the road when it keeps flashing the shut down and will not restart in 200 miles message. Finally my husband found the problem. Def fluid crystallizes when air hits it, and each time you add def fluid a small amt of air hits the fluid, so guess what happens. Right. Some of those crystals get in the system, stop up the injector. If you dont believe, check the funnel you use to add def fluid. Crystals you will find. Still has SES light for the system, but at least its not shutting down now. Just a bit disappointed in the product dodge advertised as the truck built especially for the wrecker industry. Wake up Dodge. Wheres your pride in your products? The amt I gave for this truck should make it trouble free for a long, long time.
To Tami from Naples, Ive had the exact same experience with my Dodge Dually. I had to replace the front tires, and asked for a front end alignment, this was not at a Dodge dealer, was told it couldnt be done without replacing the ball joints to the tune of about $1000.00. Went to the dealer. Their answer was to rotate tires, nice.
I bought a 2013 RAM 4 door 4x4 diesel with 15 miles on it in August of 2013. After a while my passenger door wouldnt shut right. You would have to slam it which Im totally against. But anyways when I hit 600 miles on my way out to the R.O.W. my check engine light came on and gave me a message saying something I cant remember exactly but see dealer. So I called the dealer in Enid, OK where I had just bought the TRUCK I have always wanted to purchase, the truck of my dreams. So I turned around and went to the Dodge house and I had to get my whole truck resynchronized. No big deal. They said its a new truck, I said ok. This is my first new truck I guess this is normal. I was convinced so then I get back on the road head to work. It yaaa, its fixed, got that out of the way back to new. Almost month goes by at 2,000 miles check engine, see dealer, Im freaking out. I call the dealer. I had to get the software updated again. They said no big deal, this happens all the time. Wont hurt anything. I said somethings wrong with this. This cant be right. So they updated it again. So I hit the road 2,500 miles, it happens again. At this point Im fed up. I talk to ** the sales guy that sold me the truck and I told him whats going on. He said well lets go check it out. Checks it out and he comes back says it just needed updated and youll be good to go. I said ok but somethings not right. The sales guy said this is what happens when you buy a new truck, you have to work out the bugs. I said No, no. The whole truck is not right. He said oh its all good and if you have any more problems just stop by and we will get it fixed for you. I just walked off mad with this truck they put me in. My job moved from Enid, OK to Elk City, OK about three hrs away so I go to Doug Gray of Elk City OK. At 35,000 miles my fuel pump goes out. Wow, wow this is crazy. I have a 96 chevy that still has its original fuel pump. Wow so they fix that well about 34,000. My truck starts down shifting hard. I mean hard. There was a knock on the floor every time I would decell so I stop back by the Dodge house in Elk City OK and they had to relearn the my tranny and they charged me to relearn my tranny. I made a big deal about it but didnt wave it, stopped the hard shift I was surprised yaaaa they took care of it for me. Well a couple of weeks go by it starts the hard down shift again so I call Doug Gray of Elk City and go by there. They relearned my tranny without charge this time. Before I moved to Houston my factory warranty was almost up so I spent $1,500 to extended everything to 109,000 miles for my protection and to save me some money in the long run - nottt. Thats a joke too. I have to pay anyway at 50,000 miles. My truck was due for an oil change. I took it in there, got everything done and the service guys come out and says did you know your front differential is leaking. Its not bad but leaking. You have to get that fixed right now. I said is it under warranty? If it is, fix it. If its not, I cant afford it. But I extended my warranty, front diff seal is part of the drive train. They said yeah but you have to pay 400$, its not under your warranty. I said why. So I had gotten it fixed shortly after that and its doing fine. Now Im at 85,000 miles and I get a message SAYING PREFORM SERVICE SEE DEALER. So I had the money so I get that done for 1,800$ and I ask them what do yall have to do to fix that **? One of the service advisors at Clear Lake Dodge told me that it consist of all my filters from fuel to air to oil and that theres a filter in the def and some other exhaust filter of some sort. I said ok well and let me purchase a oil service contract. He said ok I have this good deal, 3 car wash, 3 oil changes and 3 tire rotations for 180$ so I got it and I told him not to rotate my tires because they were wore down and I was buying new ones the next day!!! So what did ** do everything I told him not to. Like he had lack of attention when he was baby (HE DID NOT TELL ME I COULD ONLY USE THAT CONTRACT THERE or his sister store). Now Im at 88,000 miles I now moved to Houston TX at 88,000 miles. Truck has been running fine until I pulled out of a parking lot and I notice my D.E.F gauge went from half a tank to nothing and it said refill D.E.F speed limited to 5 mph in 190 miles. I was like ok so I pull over and refill my def, hop back in the truck and start to take off and look down and my gauge is not working. Im like whaaat? Whaaat is going on? So I start to the house and Im worried on the way home my gauge started working until I let off the gas and my gauge stopped working again. But it reset itself back to 190 miles till limited. At least it reset itself but gauge still not working. I was going to stop in the middle of Houston and break down so I keep going. I make it home, kill my truck and started my truck again. Gauge came on then went right back off and reset itself from 100 miles to limited to 5 mph back to 190 miles to limited. I took my truck to the shop and they want to charge me cause their pump is defaulty. And this is where I sit right now, trying to get Chrysler to fix my truck. The only reason I bought a new truck is so that way I didnt have a breakdown and keep putting money into something. I think these new trucks are a joke - nice but a joke. Its like they have a button they push when they want you to spend money and invest in their product for more sales.
My 2015 Dodge Ram problems that I am having with it. The headlights come on by themselves. Ill go down the road at night and they will shut off by themselves. Theres gas in the oil. We have taken it to the shop 7 times and with the truck will not duplicate anything. Very dissatisfied with the truck. Nice-looking truck but very dissatisfied how it operates on the brakes, have failed 7x, mufflers got a hole in it already. Duplicated gas in the oil - unsafe. The road smell burnt wiring in the cab. Heater doesnt work properly on safely road. Smell burnt wiring in the cab and the heater dont work really properly. Way too many problems with this truck.
EcoDiesel 1500 pickup. I just love my pickup.. Though the fuel mileage is not as advertised. It does not get the 25 to 30 miles to gallon. Only getting 18 to 22 mpg. This pickup has over 100,000 miles on it and runs like a top.
A plastic cover blew off the passenger side mirror of my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. This occurred while I was driving. I went to the Clear Lake Dodge to get a replacement plastic cover prior to any electronic damage occurring due to environmental exposure. I purchased an extended Bumber/Bumber warranty program at the time of purchase. This is still valid. I was told this was cosmetic and would not be covered under warranty. The mirror, however, would have been covered. There is nothing wrong with the mirror.I was taken to the parts department and told that the $5-10 plastic cover could not be purchased separately. I was informed that the entire mirror assembly would need to be purchased and installed at a later date. I was told by the service manager that this was a Chrysler policy and there was nothing that could be done. I am a loyal Chrysler customer with my previous vehicle being a Pacifica. I will be in the market for future family vehicle purchases. This experience calls into question any future Chrysler product purchases.
I took my truck in to remedy the MIL light. The dealer (Somerset Jeep/Chrysler) took the transmission all apart and then told me they cant get the parts to fix it. I called a dealer that told me the parts are readily available. Now the repair shop wont answer my calls. I explained to them I cant be without a truck as Im a building contractor, but to no avail. Off the record, a parts man who told me the parts are available said that because its a warranty work, there is no money in it for them. Well, there wont be any money in it for them when I buy my next new truck either. A Ford!
I bought a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4X4 Long Horn ECO DIESEL 3.0. I drove it from Minneapolis St. Paul to MS. I loved the truck, but after 2 weeks, My engine light came on and then I received a warning message stating that my truck would not start after 110 miles. Dodge informed me that the DEF pump was bad and it was going to cost me $2900 plus tax to get it fix. The truck has 150K on it. It has been in the shop more than in my drive garage. I asked other guys about their experience with the DEF pump, and they told me that they deleted it. I asked Dodge about deleting it but they said that it was illegal. So if its illegal, and their pump is bad, shouldnt Dodge pay for it? Its not my fault or any other ECODIESEL drivers fault that they manufactured a faulting part. I think Im going to put a sign on my doors that read DONT BUY A DODGE...THEY WILL BREAK YOUR BANK.
I have been reading all the bad reviews for Dodge pickups. Some are really bad. I bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummings diesel engine. I have almost 200,000 miles on it and it has been almost trouble free except for a fuel pump a few years ago. I am still driving it and most of the driving was pulling a 34 ft fifth wheel across the country. I think maybe some changes must have been made for all of these comments to be bad reviews for Dodge. I would really do some research before buying another on though. Sad too about the dealers not standing behind their customers. I will check here with Consumer Affairs before I buy anything in the future.
2011 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 diesel. Less than a year old, the engine light would be on and off. As of November 2012, the engine will not start. It has been to 3 dealers with no conclusion of the problem. The computer has been changed along with other items. Chrysler now claims that the engine is out of warranty because of bad fuel. Not to mention, the last dealer who had it left the motor disassembled and pieces missing. I highly recommend anyone going for a Chrysler or Dodge product to seriously reconsider. This vehicle is costing me tons of money with my business, and personal costs such as attorney fees, tow bills, rentals, and loss of work.
Steering box wore out before 50k miles.. Wasnt sure what the problem was.. but when the truck drifted continuously and had to severely correct steering constantly while driving, I figured it was alignment. At 52k I was at the dealership asking for an alignment to be done. They told me an alignment wouldnt help because my steering box is wore out. Wanted me to pay them 2800 dollars to put in new steering box and update the linkage to the heavier duty components. I was told Chrysler knows about these problems but wont fix them. Consumers have to flip the bill. I have a 2008 megacab hemi 4x4 I purchased brand new. Never has it been off roading and only towed short distances with it a few times.
My overall experience with my 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Mega Cab is a nightmare! From day one, the truck had a wobble and still does. mind you not this truck was new and now has 30k miles. It has gone through 3 steering boxes, 2 tie-rods, rear end replaced 2 times, 6 radios, windows have scratches all the way down (poor design), u-joints, 5 sets of tires, ball-joints linkage.I havent gotten anywhere, except stress. I suffer from lupus and all this stress is killing me. I am doing lemon law. Chrysler doesnt want to buy it back. Go figure. They dont want it either. (lol) Never again will I buy a Dodge product.
Bought a new 6.7 Cummins Ram 2017 5500 from dealer. Use the vehicle for transporting boats and freight. Stay on top of all my maintenance and the motor has dropped a valve seat at 144k miles. I dont pay 52k for a vehicle and the motor to drop a valve seat in motor. Gonna cost me 10 to 15k to repair motor. Any motor should last long than 144k. If they cant build a motor better than that I will not be buying anymore Ram trucks. I have 2 Rams right now. A 4500 and 5500.
After buying my Ecodiesel I noticed lights pecks on the fender. Don Jackson was very good about replacing the fender but could not get fender tight to the body. The service department said it all like that. But that no correct by knowing now. Then when I got my 1st service and asked about and said they can tight up better than that at Autonation at Victory drive Columbus. Again the technician did do better and the glue was left all over my vehicle. Also the service department had to drain my truck because it put in the wrong oil. To bring you up to date now it is 9 Nov. 2016, had to tow to Autonation Chrysler. The next day Autonation informed the engine failed and broke it down to take pics to send Chrysler. To get it a action to okay to order was 5 days and no rental was assigned to me. Autonation here on Lake parkway was not any help. Fast forward to Wednesday 16 Nov. the Customer service has given me a runaround. I have been asking for a rental pickup for my 60000 weight paper and I have no seen a solution. With number of problem I will be continue calling and get to someone in the corporate to listen and compensate for the damages. I would like to replace the vehicle that is not even a year old 17500 on it. Ram/Chrysler has lost all faith of Company.
My company got me a 2015 Ram 3500 6.7 cummins at my request. The truck started acting up with the cruise control. It would set and show it locked in on cruise. The next day it started working again. I took it to a dealer and they said if no check engine light was on there was nothing they could do. 2 days later I get a engine light and a def warning. The more warnings. I take it in and they look at the truck and say you have a bad sending unit and its on backorder. This is 3 weeks later. They said also keep your def tank full and it will be ok. So I did. Yesterday it went into limp mode and left me going 5 mph in rush hr traffic. I pissed a lot of people off just trying to get off the road. I called the dealer no help, then the 800 # still no help, then I took it to Facebook on Dodges page. Then I got some help. But today is Friday. Im at home with a broken service truck and making no money! They found the part I was told this morning from their supplier. And Im on the top of the list but still no help to me. So I think I will push them a little harder and see what happens. The EPA needs to at least SET THESE TRUCK TO GO 45 MPH THEY CAN CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF THROTTLE SO THEY DONT HAVE BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT. By the way I have 3 Dodges, a car, and 2 trucks.
Purchased a 2011 dodge 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi new in April 2011. Get in truck just seven months later and it will not drive. No gear action. Had it towed to the dealership and day one, the tech says he doesnt know the problem. Day two, doesnt know; day three, ask me why the transmission fluid looks new. Heck, I dont know, you tell me. Day four, informs me that its the transmission pump. Its shot. In seven months? Ive been seeing a lot of transmission complaints about dodges. Makes one wonder.
This Dodge Ram 1500 truck has a severe transmission problem where it jerks into 1st and 2nd gear which lunges the truck forward. Finding many references online with the exact same problem and after three dealership visits, Chrysler warranty claims the truck functions as designed. Buyer beware.
Brand New Truck with paint issues on the roof, inner door and metal shavings under paint in the bed. After weeks of contacting them, they approved the roof and the bed but they denied the claim for the door even when the area had rust on it and I just own the truck for like two weeks. If your trucks rust in two weeks then is poor materials used on it. Before they approved the truck to get fix, I fix the bed. My guy repair all the paint and metal shavings. I decided to spray a bed liner since it would be the best option to keep the bed in good shape. I sent the receipt and now Dodge Chrysler is giving me a hint that they might denied the claim since I installed a bed liner on top of the repairs. Are you kidding me, you should be praising me since I fix it for way less that was approved initially.Crappy company, and by the way I had a 2007 Ram. I also own a charger and now have this problem on this Ram 2016 Laramie. Is incredible how they are risking a customer for a mere $597. This truck was 50K. Plus Im stuck with this truck with a major problem (roof paint), Dodge who is going to pay me for the value lost for a crappy paint job done by you. Im pretty sure this will come out on my truck report. Also if you have a problem with your dealer, then you are out of luck since they contact the dealer for everything. The dealer that I deal with is Arrigo Dodge in Fort Pierce FL. Good luck if you are in this area. They are as crappy as it gets. They are part of this problem since I took the truck for the pictures to them. They did not took my info so the case was just sitting there till I call them. Really mad customer
The 1994 through 1997 Dodge Rams with the V10 engine had an ignition control module that selected the proper ignition coil. About 2002, Dodge discontinued this part (#56027978). As a result, when this part fails, the engine will only run on 6 cylinders and since there are no replacements, the truck is unrepairable. In my case, I have a truck with only 112,000 miles on it and it is only good for salvage. Retail value on this truck is about $8500 if it were running right, and I will have to eat the loss as the dealer wont even take it as a trade-in.
I purchased a new 2018 RAM 2500 Limited around April of 2018 and loved the way the truck handle and performed until someone rear-ended the truck and thats where the saga began due to lack of parts (national back order) from Mopar. The truck has been in the shop going on 2 month and counting for simple things like rear shock absorbers.
2014 RAM TRUCK 15000 miles. Pushing two years old. Day one -- starts great, runs about 2 minutes, dies. This occurred for about 3 months, back to back repairs, had to use roadside service. Finally cured that. Next problem to this exact date, almost a year later, and still no fix! Airbag light on right NOW! Dealership has TRIED numerous repairs and fixes, NO LUCK! Many trips back and forth to dealership, (8 repair orders) STILL ON RIGHT NOW! NOT FIXED! 4 attempts or cases with their STAR TEAM. Whatever that is? They suck! Chrysler Resolution team has tried and I said tried to resolve, offered me $$$ and wipe out past history, extended warranties, I said take that and stick it up your??? REALLY, I JUST WANT AIRBAG FIXED not cover it up and think Im desperate for money. Guess what? Im not! Now have retained a Lemon Law attorney to maybe help. Its been many months and Chrysler tells him no refund or replace. Then Chrysler attorneys tried to offer me $2000 and think I would be happy and say sure. Then again I told my attorney to tell them to stick that up their **! Do they think Im that easy or stupid! Plain and simple and you will understand when I tell you this -- its my life youre messing with daily, 50/50 chance it might or might not work, Russian Roulette every time I sit behind the wheel and drive. THEY DONT CARE! I guess since they are a multi-billion dollar corporation they dont give a ** about lives, their product or name. JD POWER MUST NOT TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN THEY AWARD BACK TO BACK TRUCK OF THE YEAR! My time, my life, my family is important Chrysler! I really want the RAM TRUCK/CHRYSLER OWNERS to know how well your life or problem means to them. I hope this blows up the internet, national news, goes extremely viral! Help me! Purchased brand new 2017 Dodge Rebel on January 1, 2018. So far Ive only put 600 miles on it. Noticed above drivers door a hump under the painted plastic trim which covers the roof seam/joint. Notified local Dodge service department. They took pictures to send to the Dodge engineering department. The local Dodge body shop also inspected it. It appears at the factory when it was built, some metal debris was left under the sheet metal when it was crimped and spot welded. This caused metal to protrude at the joint. Also, there is a visible hump in the sheet metal. To top that, at the factory, they simply threw the plastic trim over it and painted it! There is a HIGHLY VISIBLE 1/3 rise in the trim. I noticed a leak on my drivers floormat. The body shop said it was from the roof seam issue. How in the hell did this get through even the weakest of quality control both at the factory and at the dealership? The dealership has now had my truck for a week. The headliner has been removed for inspection. Called dealership Friday and they said the Dodge engineers are looking at the problem. How can this end well for me? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Bought a 2015 limited Dodge Ram. This truck has the air suspension. Had it for a couple months and it would not start. The fob would unlock the door and remotely start the truck but would not allow you to push the button to take over from remote start and drive. Finally got it started after approx. 1hr. The next morning took to dealer. Had it three days, replaced fobs. Worked for two weeks, happened again. Had to be towed. It has now been at the dealer for three weeks? They dont know what the problem is. Have replaced fobs again but no luck. Said it is a star case and engineers are working on it. Apparently that would make me feel so much better?I called Chrysler service and got absolutely no help AT ALL. What a joke. I have owned four dodges up till now, all bought new. Think this will be my last one. When I had the truck towed it took them four hours to get here. They gave me a rental to drive. Its a Ram, six cylinder that would not pull a trailer and does not even have a hitch. I spent over 50K on a truck and they give me a 20K replacement. What a joke!!! Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Its great on miles and tows wonderfully. Its brilliantly awesome and stylish. The key fob is awesome. You can start the car with it and then take the key out so you can lock the car while its running.
The truck is an excellent version this year. Lots of room and very comfortable. The interior is well designed and easy to operate the instrument panels. The handling of the Ram is a bit tough because of the rear of the truck being so light but Ive added weight by placing blocks in the bed and covering them easily as not to be seen. The price of the truck is a bit costly. With gas prices rising they should bring the price down. Otherwise the performance and durability are worth the money. I would recommend this truck to all. Go and check it out. You will not be disappointed.
I have had Dodge before. They are very reliable vehicles. I love their spacious interior and the custom looks of each vehicle. They have a smooth ride and my 1st vehicle lasted 9 years and I still have it. It looks and runs like new. All one needs to do is keep up with the vehicle and replace changes as needed. I love Chrysler and Dodge. They are the only brand of vehicle Ive purchased and I am happy with their performance and look. Dodge brand has been in the family for years so its a well trusted brand. Family members worked in the Chrysler plants for years and years so we stay loyal to this brand.
DONT BUY. Bought a brand new Dodge Ram (Longhorn) and second day the engine light turned on. I took it to the dealership for service and it took them 2 days to find out what might cause the problem and then they said theyll fix it but the engine light might turn back on, so they should check for other stuff. When they called me to come and pick up the truck they had damaged my brand new car and they said theyre not responsible for any damages! Horrible vehicle and customer service.
Well, where do I start. We bought a truck from Kernersville Dodge. It was a $3500.00 Dually and paid cash for the truck. We did this in October and we still do not have the title for this vehicle. We have called the dealer and Chrysler several times and each one has told me that the title was mailed. Then I spoke to a manager and she said, Well, we dont have the title to send you, so she didnt know what the first 3 people were talking about. We think that the dealer had not paid off the truck and they still had a lien on the title. I couldnt tell you. I have never been lied to so much.In the meantime. We have had the truck in there for at least 5 times for the vibration. It has been to 3 dealerships now and still Chrysler doesnt want to make it right. Kernersville tried to balance it and then said nothing was wrong. We fussed and fussed until Chrysler sent us to Nichols in Burlington. They did put 2 ties on the front and it was 2 totally different tires then what was on the truck. And they didnt report even doing that job. We fussed about that and they wouldnt make it right. So, we go back to Chrysler and tell them that we are going to get an attorney and get the truck returned and get our money back. The next day we get a call and they have made us an appointment for Crown Dodge in Greensboro. I take the truck in there and the service advisor says oh yeah we had one just like this when he worked at another dealer and we had to fight and fight Chrysler before they would change the tires and it is back tires that we have the issue with. So, he called yesterday and said that Chrysler wouldnt make the tires good and we would have to fight with them. So, I pick it up again today. The other issue was that we had the radio go out and Kernersville ran a test and said to our face that they would change the radio out. We said okay, expecting them to call when they got it in. And we would AGAIN drive 100 miles round trip to get that done. Well, when the Crown Dodge place called Kernersville Dodge to see if they ordered that radio, the guy said, Oh, we already changed that radio out. We knew was a lie. When my husband had talked to them the week before to check on all of this, they said that they had no record of getting a radio or that they even tested the radio. They would have to do that again. We had the paperwork where they did it. So, did they do the test or not. We know they didnt change it out. So, Crown ran their own test and yes the radio is bad and they ordered another. So, now I have in my possession a 60,000 dollar truck with no title and mix match tires that cant be rotated and a radio that goes on and off on its own. Hmmm, but Kernersville Dodge wont make it right. But they were all fine when I was getting ready to make that check out. Oh, yeah I didnt mention that they put the tag under the wrong weight and it was supposed to be a farm tag and it wasnt. Kernersville Dodge did that and didnt want to make that right either. We were told to pay the taxes on the truck and buy another tag. And guess what? I dont have a title or registration to get a tag. The temporary tag has run out. The worst experience I have ever had with a car dealer. They suck. And what makes me so mad is that they dont care. They really could care less if you are a happy customer or not.
2003 3500 automatic 4x4. The transmission on any giving moment when you put it in Drive will engage third gear only, and at times it works perfect. I have been asked by mechanics to change the neutral safety sensor, speed sensor to no avail. I need a solution quick.
The Dodge brake controller, when not working, does not indicated that it is not working. Hence one is left without brakes when pulling a trailer. This is a serious failure. When the Dodge dealer is asked to remove the integrated brake controller from the vehicle computer system all you get is cant. This of course is BS and is clearly stated on all the Dodge forums as being possible. So why should it be impossible to get a dealer to fix your truck?? Lack of caring is how I put it and hence why Dodge gets the lowest ratings.
Called Chrysler about recall notice and was given a tarp-like cover for the front of my vehicle. Basically told there is no fix, it is a manufacturing defect and cannot be fixed. Put this tarp on your vehicle if the temp drops below -1C or 30 degrees F. Therefore, I paid for a $75,000.00 (tax included) that must have this cover on it in order to drive in cold weather. (I remember 40 yrs ago putting a piece of cardboard in front the radiator of my car to improve the heat, it is now 2015 and nothing seems to have changed.) Otherwise, a warning light comes on then the vehicle goes into limp mode (max speed 30 mph). If this happens I was told to find a warm garage and park the truck in it until it warms up. I can see this happening on a 400 series hwy at 1 am in the morning, and having a huge tracker-trailer drive into me from behind, as I am only limping along trying to find an exit and warm garage. Someone will die from this defect. It is totally unacceptable, incredibly dangerous, and completely irresponsible of Chrysler to hide this defect until you buy the vehicle, then say oh by the way you need this tarp to drive your $75,000.00 truck in the winter. Good luck!
This will be a VERY short version. My husband and I have always worked, never had help from the government. Never had anything repoed or taken back. This was VERY VERY embarrassing & degrading! Bought our 2007 Dodge one ton truck. In 2010 we got behind on 2-3 payments and was contacting Chrysler each month to try to let them know we would send them money asap (I have all names and dates of all of this). Husband was working in Arkansas and the truck broke down, was told it was the fuel injectors. We had them fixed at the price of $3600. While the truck set at the dealership and we were waiting on our taxes to pay the bill, Chrysler contacted us and said they were repoing the truck. They felt that where the truck was sitting was dangerous and they would pick it up. We paid Chrysler $2025 to catch the bill up in full and take it off the repo list. Why would we pay them that much money if it didnt take it off the list of being picked up? Two weeks later they picked the truck up from the dealership where we had it worked on even AFTER paying the bill in full!!! The dealership was going to take all our personal belongings out of the truck for us but the repo company said not to worry they would do that. The repo company cleans out the truck and drags it to a Texas auction. We hired an attorney so we could get the truck back and continue making payments on it. We did not want it to go to auction then we have to pay that huge difference when it sold while someone else drove the thing around. Then we would have to buy another vehicle for my husband to go to work in. I go to Texas to pick the truck up. It has 3 new dents in it and the mirror is broke! When I pick up the truck in Texas I immediately go to Arkansas to the repo company to pick up my husband’s stuff. The repo company had stolen our GPS, some knives, a NICE pair of jumper cables made out of welding leads and several other things that were in the truck. Im pretty sure the dealership would not have stolen that stuff out of the truck I know that repo company did. Their office was an old house that was really run down and nasty, would not let my kids out of the truck while I was there. The repo company swears there was nothing else in the truck except what I picked up! They lied, Chrysler lied and up to date we have paid about $60,000 all in cashier’s checks. But Chrysler gets to make the rules up as they go along!! No one ever gets on to them or how they conduct business. Once we got the truck back and started making these ridiculous payment of $1270 per month it still breaks down. Still had to pay the $3600 for fuel injectors. The front tire and WHOLE rim fell off while driving down the highway pulling a camper heading to another job. Sparks were flying and it caught on fire. I wish we had no morals we should have let the dang thing burn! That was almost $3000. The thing is always in the shop! For what we have paid out in repairs we could have bought another truck!! Im teaching my kids and anyone who will listen NOT to buy anything from Chrysler!!
I had a check engine light come on on a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with 17,000 actual miles. Took it to our dodge dealer (Christophers Dodge) and upon running the computer was told that there was probable a clogged exhaust line and/or valves not working. Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christophers Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. So we ended up paying 2600.00 for the repair and in my opinion will never purchase another Chrysler product since they do not back their vehicles.
I have a 14 Ecodiesel been in the shop 15 times for engine light issues. The exhaust filter plugs up last night. Im going out for a drive to clean out the filter and it goes to 100% full. Now it only goes 20 - 30 mph. Consumer affairs has been not much help. Tried to contact Robert Hegblooms office this morning no luck. They dont want the corporate level to know what the real world is going through. Anyone has his contact? I would love to talk to him.
Purchased the car last week and after 125 mile transmission is out, I was going up the mild hill and car start going backward. Lucky me nobody was behind me in this narrow hilly one-way road. I caused a major traffic. Lucky me it didnt happen the night before that I took my family for a ride. The dealer is ignorant of the major defect. First they said it is a computer problem and then they said it is transmission. They don’t have a 8 truck to loan me and I had to stay out of job. And seems like this won’t be the end of this problem.
So I bought a 2013 Ram 1500 last Sept. Its been a year now and I have had nothing but problems. After only owning it a week, it had an air leak in the cab. Next the cruise didnt work properly. Took them 2 visits to the shop to get the leak fixed - cruise to this day still wont work properly. Then it had trouble starting - took it in. Now they tell me it needs new fuel injectors. Took them 4 months to finally get them installed. Only because I called and called! Then my sat. radio stopped working and a few days later my radio just keeps turning on and off!! Also randomly my wipers stopped working. The paint is cracked on 2 spots - whats next? I bought this because Im just starting out a new family and thought by getting new, I could count on no problems. What do I do next... Really want to get out of this truck and into something else!
Very poor customer service in regards to replacement of front seat padding in my Ram 1500. The representative I spoke to said that it wouldnt be covered under warranty. They claim the seat padding was covered for 12 months or 12 thousand miles. The padding has broke down so far that it feels like youre sitting on the bars. They claim theyve known about this for 7 years but refused to do anything about the manufacturing process. In my opinion, Dodge doesnt care about customer safety or customer service. I highly doubt that I will buy another Dodge.
I purchased a used ram 3500 for use on my farm and to pull my camper and haul my sxs back in Feb 2016 with 44,000 miles on it. In July 2016 took a trip to Florida and the check engine light came on. Took in when I returned home they reprogrammed the pcm. hence turned off the light. At the end of July 300 miles later I went to Tenn. The light came on again on my return home. 30 miles from home the traction control 4 wheel drive and anti lock brake lights came on. So I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday. Dropped it off at 8 am the 5th of Aug. They have put 4 or 5 parts on it all have had to be ordered. They still have the truck 3 going on 4 weeks later and the part they say it now needs is on national back order until the 6th of Sept. I have tried to get my money back as its holding me up on things I need to do. The dealer says no and Chrysler complaint dept has done nothing but follow up with the dealer occasionally calling me... saying that it doesnt qualify for a buyback. How do you sell vehicles you can keep parts for and how long is too long to have to wait? My patience are done... MY SUGGESTION IS DO NOT BUY A RAM PRODUCT CAUSE THEY DO NOT BACK THEM. Since I work with the public and go above and beyond to keep my customers satisfied, I believe this is very poor customer service.
We bought a Ram truck, it is the nicest vehicle we have ever owned. My husband drives it as his main vehicle, but I do drive it too. We have not had any problems with this vehicle, and it is a 2016. But we wish it got better gas mileage, but thats a dream. I do think it cost too much, it was more than our first house. That was a hard pill to swallow. I dont like black interior, this truck has cream colored seats and brown trim, it is beautiful. My husband keeps it washed and vacuumed every week.
I have a big investment in this 2000 Dodge 3500 van because it is converted to a motor home by a Canadian company called RoadTrek. In the last year, my computer (ECM) has been replaced 5 times. The replacement ECM is under warranty, but the mechanics seem to be just replacing the computer until the warranty runs out, without being able to find the root of the problem. I continue to get false OBD-II reports of emission control problems and low idle controller problems, with accompanying cutting out and low idle roughness.
Bought a Ram 4500. Had 6 weeks then dealership had for 6 weeks due to a faulty fuel tank. Customer service at Ram headquarters agreed to send me a goodwill gesture then revoked the offer. Truck was bought for Hotshot business. Lost over twenty thousand and then they kicked me again by revoking the goodwill gesture. Sorry people.
I owned a 98 Dodge Ram right off the showroom floor and before I gave it to my son, it only had two major issues. One was a recall for towing package, they had to weld an extra piece of metal to the trailer hitch. The other issue was, I am assuming the same as most other people that owned that year with the Dashboards that fell apart.I currently own a 2011 Cummins Turbo Diesel, that had the left tie rod recall, took the truck into my local dealership, oh and I bought from a privately owned dealership about 200 miles from where I live. The dealership I took it to for the recall didnt ask any questions or anything about doing the work. I bought this truck in July of this year and have already put over 5K miles on it and shes running like a dream. In my opinion, if you bought your truck for something other than work, then you bought the wrong thing. These are work trucks, built to be USED!!!! If you bought it for the NAV or the Phone or fancy Radio, then maybe you should have looked into buying something else for that price, like a Benz, BMW, Audi or Volvo. Just my opinion. Oh the 98, when I gave it to my son 9 months ago, had over 120K miles on it. The Cummins I traded my Challenger for and only paid 23K for it. Just because these vehicles have all that fancy stuff on them doesnt make them not be a Truck!
Purchased a 2015 ram approximately 15 months ago. Have had all kinds of issues with electrical, paint and body, moisture on the interior, seat covers, tires and airbags. I tried to take it back to the place I bought it but instead of addressing my issues was called just another crazy and turned away. After contracting Chrysler numerous time I had to contact BBB to get anything resolved.Last interaction with Chrysler said I was eligible for a buyback after going through the national center for dispute settlement. With no resolve, come to find out national center for dispute settlement always sides with company which is why they sent me there. During this process I dealt with people who were rude and unhelpful who would hang up on me and not return calls and emails. Last time I tried to take it in for the latest issue (airbag light came on and advised service needed) was told they could not work on it because it was under arbitration even though this is a major safety issue.
Sturdy, excellent rig. 4WD doesnt feel like a truck when on the road. Controls easily accessible, easily memorized to keep your eyes on the road. Hemi offers awesome acceleration for passing on 2 lane roads.
2008 Dodge Ram Crew cab 4x4 - I have owned Dodge trucks all my life and this is my 2nd 2009 truck which first one was LEMON LAWED for electrical issues. NOW my 2nd truck at 52,000 miles has been one sensor after another going out, electrical issue that continues to affect the automatic start system and other things, rear brakes completely gone which this is a truck that is not used for daily driving or work. Front brakes and calipers were replaced at 19,000 miles for problems sticking. This is the WORST EVER truck owned and is almost paid off where I may go back in debt for a new ANYTHING other than DODGE! UNRELIABLE vehicle and truly disappointed. ;(( TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LEMON LAW if possible where they must replace vehicle if it has been in shop for SAME issue 3-4 times depending on your state law.
Well, after taking the hijacked vehicle into the dealer, they were just as puzzled as to why the truck popped the Service DEF, See Dealer message as according to their tech, the entire system checked out. Regardless, they performed a reset of the PCM and supposedly updated it to the latest version. Thus far the truck is running, but who knows if this issue will crop up again. In any case, my original rating has to stand as this is outrageous that they will put out into limp mode, on an otherwise perfectly running vehicle, after 200 miles. It would make sense to simply warn to correct the error or at least extend the range/speed to a more reasonable level.
Two hours after purchase of a 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel the back window failed to operate. I had to give my new truck back for service to work on it overnight. Now, Im at 1700 miles, currently sitting in the service department waiting room with another issue. On my way to work this morning a check engine light came on with a message service DEF see dealer. I am fuming mad and feel like Ive purchased a 50,000 dollar lemon.
The only good part of my $53000 MSRP 2014 Longhorn is the look, everything else is crap. First warranty transmission replaced at 50000 miles. Second transmission replacement at 98000. Yep I was so lucky. First shift issues in 4WD about 25k in. Flywheel cracked at 110k. Hand (foot) brake issues at 111k. Console light started blinking at 50k. Remote start died at 80k. Backup camera works on and off since 60k. Fuel gauge which is inside the fuel pump was replaced at 90k. Now Remote door lock does not open doors Everytime. (Key and battery are fine.) I have been hoping that each repair is the last, however stuff just keeps breaking. Total junk.
Purchased a 2007 2500 Dodge 5.9 SLT new. Have had very few problems with the truck except AC compressor which began overheating and would not cool. Had to the dealer several times before they finally replaced it. More recently in late August 2015 the Shift Cable broke. Had it towed to the dealer. After 4 or 5 days they checked and agreed it was broken. When asked when it would be repaired I was advised that the part was on back order (over 800) and would not be available until 14 November 2015. Very irritated I accepted the fact that I would not have my truck for a while. I check often for updates and recently told that it would be 9 December 2015 before part would be available.Irritated by the delays I contacted Dodge Customer Service and lodged my complaint. The customer service rep called four days later, apologetic, and advised that the part would not be available until late January 2016 or early February 2016. Dodge has a parts supplier problem since contractors provide them to Dodge. My complaint with this is bad suppliers and bad management. If in August there were already over 800 on back order what is the problem. This is obviously not an aftermarket part or they would be available.
