Why Is My Car Overheating?
When it comes to vehicle temperature, your car is designed to run at high temperatures — somewhere between 195 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit, to be exact. And while this may seem hot to you, this is a relatively comfortable temperature range for your engine. After all, tiny explosions are known as “combustion” are responsible for making your car move!
A lot of heat can escape your engine around the cylinder heads at the top of the engine. If this heat isn't kept under control, it can build up and cause your engine to get way hotter than it's comfortable with! Especially if it's already a hot day. If you notice a spike on your vehicle's temperature gauge, it could be a symptom of a few different things.

How to Tell If Your Engine Is Overheating
A rising temperature gauge is usually a tell-tale sign that your car is overheating. However, it isn't always the most reliable signal of overheating. If you suspect things are getting a little too hot, you may notice some of these other symptoms.
A STRANGE SMELL: When your engine overheats, it can cause excessively high temperatures on parts that don't normally handle such intense heat, such as rubber hoses and gaskets, fluids, rubber seals, and more. These parts can start to heat up and emit a hot or very strong smell.
STEAM COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD: If your engine gets too hot, it can boil the coolant designed to keep it cool. This boiling coolant will turn to steam and leak out around the hood.

PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIATOR
Your radiator is responsible for pulling heat away from your engine. If any part of it is damaged or malfunctioning, the heat it would normally pull from the engine gets trapped under the hood, causing your temperature gauge to move into the danger zone.
Additionally, you may have radiator issues if your car is overheating when idle. When you drive, air naturally flows through the radiator, which can support engine cooling. But when you’re idling, issues such as a bad radiator fan clutch or belt can decrease cool airflow across your engine. That’s why it’s vital that you schedule an appointment for radiator service at a Nissan service center near you if you notice your vehicle overheats when idling.

A HOSE IS BLOCKED
The hoses in your cooling system carry coolant to the right parts. If one of the hoses is blocked or clogged, it has a much harder time circulating coolant through the system. And without the right amount of coolant, things can get hot fast.

ISSUES WITH THE WATER PUMP
Your cooling system has a water pump that helps push coolant through the system. If the water pump malfunctions, it will cause your engine to overheat. Common water pump problems include leaks, rust or corrosion buildup, a loose pulley, or a worn-out or missing drive belt.

ISSUES WITH THE COOLANT
Your car's coolant isn't just coolant. It's actually a blend of coolant and water. If this ratio is off or the wrong kind of coolant is in your vehicle, the cooling system can't perform its job properly.

A LEAK IN THE COOLING SYSTEM
Your vehicle's cooling system is designed to keep your engine from getting too hot. Coolant flows through your radiator to help pull heat away from and out of the engine. If there's a leak in the cooling system, then the coolant level may be too low to flow through the radiator and properly disperse the engine's heat.

Bought this truck about a year ago. Nissan charged me $31000 plus financing and extended warranty up to $45000! Tires were crap. Had to buy new ones @ 40,000K which should have been covered under extended warranty... No tire sensor in the spare tire so if you rotate with the spare your low tire light stays on. Thing rides very uncomfortable... Is it the wheel base or the suspension? Dont know but it feels like there are no shocks at all! Took it in for service lately @ around 60,000 just bought new tires and that service had the wheel alignment package. Anyway there was a problem. My low tire, traction control & 4 X 4 was disabled and the warning lights were on prior to the service about 2 weeks, so I stated the problem on the service order and let them know I was hearing grinding in one of the front wheels and I figured that was the source of the disabled safety features. The service tech said that one of the sensors in the back wheel was damaged and had to be replaced and he somehow determined that we had hit something and damaged it and it was not covered under warranty and wanted $500 for the part, even though it should have been covered under extended warranty! We refused to pay for the part and insisted that we would take it up with the warranty dept. so the tech did not address the original stated problem. He said until we repair the sensor the error code would prevent them from detecting other errors. By this statement I assumed that he obviously did not check out the original stated problem visually either! So he discontinued all other service work till we agreed to pay for the part... so we left... all safety systems disabled. Steaming mad cause the warranty dept was not getting back to us. 2 days later just after Christmas 2013 I rolled the truck into the ditch on an icy back road, injuring myself and my girlfriend and writing-off the truck due to the disabled safety features!

I leased a Nissan Altima in 2006 and made all lease payments until the lease expired. The dealer that originally took the lease went out of business. I was told to continue payments and complied. In 2012 I was told that the payoff was $3,000. I continued to make the payments until that amount and more was reached. I have now been told that I still have to make the payments even though the total payoff has been made. All I want is my title so that the vehicle can be sold. Tonight I find myself online drafting a lawsuit against Nissan because they are still trying to charge me for the vehicle even though I have held up my end of the deal. Somehow they feel that because the dealer went out of business, I am obligated to pay indefinitely for this vehicle. Consumer Affairs at Nissan has been of no use. There is obviously no oversight at this company.

Stay away from Nissan. We purchased our certified pre-owned vehicle 8 months ago with 6,000 miles on it, and have had the check engine light come on 6 times. Each time, the Mass Air Flow Sensor being the error code. The dealership fixes it, but yet it keeps becoming a problem. The last time the check engine light came on, it stalled on the highway, nearly having us smashed by a tractor trailer. Yet, the dealership and Nissan continue to give us the run-around and refuse to cancel our loan, or provide us with a reasonable remedy, even after a formal complaint was filed. Do not buy any vehicle from Nissan.

2014 Versa Note SV bought New, found rust on the 3rd day of purchase in 12+ areas underneath including sub-frame and various components. Complained and requested replacement with a rust free car. Nissan wont replace or refund despite extensive correspondence, emails, phone calls, visits to the dealer, furnishing date stamped pictures of rust areas. Nissan is dragging its feet with feeble excuses - No excessive rust found, Rust is not affecting safety of the car, Rust not affecting performance of the car - which is why they will not replace it. Upon telling them that due to rust, the resale value of car is severely diminished to junk car value, they have nothing to say. Filed complaints with authorities including the Attorney General but they are slow to process so nothing has come of it so far and Nissan wont stand behind its products. BBB Autoline has sided with Nissan and they just pissed on the Lemon Law doing that - despite providing scores of date stamped photographs of the rust areas. Nissan is not giving me a charity car, nor it is a used car that they have sold me. I have paid full price with high interest for 6 years that I am going to be paying and I deserve a rust free car without defects but Nissan does not seem to agree to that. People, please think a thousand times before buying a Nissan. A company that is trying to get away using every lame excuse. I am afraid that Nissan may have sold a large number of cars to buyers with rust simply because the American buyer trusts manufacturers for their quality and integrity - but not in case of Nissan. If any law students/retired lawyers/lawyers are willing to help - for an affordable fee - as I can not afford a lot at this time - please help me and may God bless you for your kindness.

2008 Nissan Versa CVT Problem. I am crying right now. I do not know what I am going to do. The other day I was driving and took my girlfriend home and the gas light came on. It was late and me being a woman decided to get gas the next day. So I did but when I was half way out of my apts the gas pedal quit working. I thought I had run out of gas so I had to go about 5 miles an hour over across the street to the gas station. Put gas in it and it drove fine and to the grocery store right up the street. On my way home it ran fine and when I turned into my apts the gas pedal quit working again. I have it in a shop for about two weeks and they tell me they cannot figure out what is wrong. They believe it is the CVT. They said it was just a fluke that about me being low of gas that this doesnt have anything to do with it. That it is getting plenty of gas but the transmission isnt receiving the information or something like that.I just got online and have seen over 800 different complaints about the CVT on these Nissans. My life is over if it is the transmission. I am on disability and 65 years old. I barely make it as it is. If I do not have a vehicle I cannot go to my doctor or to the grocery store. I have no family. God what am I gonna do. Does anyone know where I can file a complaint at least. So maybe in the future people will see it and not buy a Nissan and be stuck walking like me. Why doesnt Nissan make good on these. Why??

Driver airbag out on my Vehicle at approximately 75K + Miles - I called Nissan Consumer affairs after shelling out 1500.00 almost for a defective airbag on this car and they would not help us with the issue. I had to seriously take a loan to pay for this. Not to mention that this should not be happening at this mileage. I should also mention that we have had to take this car in for the Seat to be fixed and the seat belts on more than one occasion. Looks like this will be our last experience with EVER owning a NISSAN! I am very unhappy at this point and wanted to warn others if you buy a NISSAN make sure you buy extended warranties because you will be out a lot of money.

Ownership of a Nissan is synonymous with dissatisfaction. On March 25, 2019, I purchased a new Nissan Frontier from Jenkins Nissan, Leesburg, FL. After 30 months of ownership and only 14,058 miles, it had an obvious manufacturing defect. Namely, the paint started peeling off at nearly every weld spots on the fenders and the bed rail of the vehicle. They did determine that this is a “warranty issue.” On August 11, 2021, Jenkins Nissan Leesburg, Florida service personnel told me the peeling was indeed caused by the weld spots, but they did nothing except tell me to take the Nissan Frontier to Reed Nissan Clermont, Florida because they (Jenkins Nissan) didnt have a body shop. I contacted Nissan Customer Services on August 15, 2021 to determine where I should take the vehicle to fix the manufacturing defect. On August 24, 2021, I was finally contacted by *** from Nissan Customer Services and she told me to take it to any Nissan Dealer to file the report to the Warranty Department for this region. On August 31, 2021, I had an appointment with Reed Nissan Clermont, Florida. Reed Nissan Clermont sent me to Reed Nissan Orlando because they didnt have a body shop either. On September 7, 2021, I had an appointment with Reed Nissan Orlando, Florida. They inspected my car, took pictures and told me that they were filing a report and that I would hear something that day, fact is their words were, you should hear something within an hour. That hear something within an hour comment has now turned into several weeks. Finally on their advice on October 7, 2021, I took my Nissan Frontier to Reed Nissan Orlando to get it repaired. Only, that didn’t happen because Reed Nissan failed to file the claim. After much pressure from me, Reed Nissan filed the report. Finally, on October 29, 2021 the Nissan Frontier was repaired. It took 79 (seventy nine) days from the time of my complaint to get the vehicle fixed., I believe the Nissan Frontier is a very competitive vehicle but the three Nissan dealer’s LACK knowledge of filing a warranty issue claim is unacceptable. Had this been an engine failure or a transmission failure, I would have been without the vehicle for 79 days or 11 days shy of three months.

Just because I didnt have Hackensack Nissan Dealer write down the deal they
Just because I didnt have Hackensack Nissan Dealer write down the deal they were offering when I went to the dealer, a debt collector is after me now. When I leased the Sentra back in March 2012 from Hackensack Nissan dealer in New Jersey, I had a lot of months left for the previous Altima. When I told a sales associate about it, two people at the dealer said, Okay. Well take care of it, and no other explanation. And of course, they didnt write it down and they let me switch to Sentra with some benefits. The benefits were a lower monthly payment and free maintenance for the life of the lease. The dealer said I was set. And this was the first day for the particular sales associate. A month later, he quit. So there was nobody other than me who knows what exactly happened. Also, this sales associate held on to my personal belongings from the old Altima. He quit without returning them to me.When I called Lou **, general sales manager, for the quitters contact info, he gave me a cell phone number that belonged to somebody else. So the employer didnt even have his employees contact information correct. A few weeks later, I started getting calls from the debt collector. I thought it was the early lease termination fee and I thought it should be taken care of by the Hackensack Nissan dealer. So I went to the dealer many times to see what was going on. There was absolutely no explanation of the situation by them. Instead, they told me to watch out for some mails which I need to bring to them. Of course, the alleged mail never arrived. This happened twice. And when I went to the dealer for the last time, Chris **, the general manager (he also quit a month later) and Freddie **, a sales associate, told me that they sent a partial payment for the Altima to Nissan but there was still a remaining balance. Both of them told me that the Altima was being auctioned now. So when they receive the money for Altima, they can pay everything off. And Freddie ** clearly told me that he didnt want to help me because I was rude. Also, he denied signing on the paper with the series of events I wrote down to record what happened at the dealer. When I called the dealer a month later to see if the payment was made, an accounting person, not the general manager or the sales associate, told me that the sales associate requested Nissan to waive the remaining amount and he was waiting for a reply from Nissan. After this, there is no correspondence with the Hackensack dealer. So they just left me with more than $3,000 debt to Nissan with no explanation by the dealer. In October, it was a rude woman from the Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation that told me the collector was requesting the remaining balance of Altima, and not the early lease termination fee.And as long as I dont have a paper to prove that the dealer is responsible for the amount, I should be responsible. If the dealer had told me originally that I would still be responsible for the Altima, I wouldnt have changed the car in the first place. Why would I have to switch a 2011 brand new Altima to a Sentra? But the dealer didnt explain to me. They never even mentioned that I had to pay for the Altima. And there are only verbal correspondence between me and the dealer. Oh, and after talking to Mr. ** at the Department of loss and recovery, I found out the $3,000 is the early lease termination fee and not the remaining balance of the Altima. Honestly, I lost count of all the lies they made to me. In the past 8 months, I was ridiculed and lied to numerous times.Mr. ** at the Department of Loss and Recovery told me that I didnt understand whats going on because of the language barrier I have. Mr. ** also at the Department of Loss and Recovery clearly said it was my fault to trust Nissan. And he was chuckling on the phone. Its sad how I end up like this after being a loyal customer for over 18 years. But I guess Nissan doesnt care about the old customers. I cant wait to return the Sentra and leave this company for good. To all the people here, my thoughts are with you. We just crossed our paths with deceitful people and company. Dont be fooled or preyed on by them ever again in your life.

The NMAC financial service gains, the State DMV gains, and the infrastructure within the county gains at the expense of the Consumer! This action would never hold merit in US Banking or Security grounded financial institutions. The Dealership will sell maintenance issue Vehicles under the pretense that car is without flaws. While the very own Consumer Protection Lawyer in that particular district eats lunch with the local Lawyer who represents Nissan Dealerships and NMAC! Even the Lemon Law doesnt hold up in Court, to include Consumer lawyers must be paid heavily as a kick-back bonus to steer clear of Lawsuits targeting Nissan. Similar to pharmaceutical Corporations and malpractice suits with cross-contamination probable issues! Those Consumers lack legal representation as a whole! Still hoping to get involved with a Class Action Consumer Violation on a Federal Scale! Oh, did I mention its a Japanese Corporation; manufacturing in Tennessee... NMAC Financial Department lacks Leadership, fails to correct issues and prey on U.S. Citizens as a whole! Now, lets talk about tariff issues of an overseas corporate business dealing in the USA. Salesman Jose said my Nissan Sentra had 100K mile warranty, which included 12 free oil changes and car washes. The heated leather seats are not working properly, they turn on and off by themselves, the a/c has been replaced twice already, the brakes squeal. Several other issues with the brand new car. I will never purchase a Nissan vehicle again. They did not replace the seats as promised, they recanted on giving the 100K mile warranty, the 12 free oil changes and 12 free car washes. The repair center also said the man who sold us the vehicle no longer works for them and its normal for the brakes to squeal on a new vehicle. I told him that was not normal, that was poor manufacturing of products. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata and never had that happen. These are unfair business practices and I feel like I was sold a lemon. I will never do business with them again.

I just replaced a transmission on a 2008 Nissan Rogue with only 133,608 miles on it. This car had a grinding noise in the transmission initially. It was a widely known problem (Check the NICO Club Rogue Forum). Nissan released a software patch in 2009 which resolved the issue. I got the update shortly after it was released on 11/30/09.On 10/20/14 my transmission failed, without warning, in four lanes of highway traffic. The car lost forward momentum and it was a miracle my wife and I were not killed getting the car off the freeway. We were towed to a dealership nearby and they informed me the transmission was dead and would have to be replaced. I paid $1000.00 out of pocket for replacement. The dealership said they got me help from Nissan who covered $3000.00. I requested reimbursement from Nissan of my $1000.00 and was denied. They basically said they had done enough. When I asked if they had actually paid the dealership $3000.00 the rep said that was proprietary information. Sound shady? Yep! I will never - EVER - buy a Nissan product again and I will never own a CVT again. Buyer beware!!

After reading all the poor reviews on NMAC, it made me so afraid that I was thinking about trading in the Nissan I bought yesterday for a Honda or Toyota! The complaints seemed to say NMAC is eager to ruin Nissan customers credit, wants Nissan customers to pay for NMACs general incompetency, refuses to correct their own mistakes, and employs illegal or dishonest business methods. Thank you all for posting. We, who finance through NMAC, will need to be extra careful and not to expect decent business dealing from NMAC. We should document everything in case some guy from an attorney group actually experienced NMAC ways and wanted to start something against the big guy for their arbitrary and wrongdoing against customers. My experience at the dealership finance dept for NMAC did not go well because the guy did not explain the finance at all. When asked, he just said it is zero percent at 36 months; pointing at the monthly payment and read the inserted terms off a printed contract. He hurried out a lot of paperwork and wanted me to sign off on each of them. The consumer protection law should have required the finance person to explain in detail on what finance rate and duration of the loan, and if the rate will be changed. The consumer will then sign off acknowledgement by writing in essence the interest rate, length of loan, fixed or variable rates, terms on possible penalties, and anything that may increase the cost of the loan. That is more real of a protection than to have consumer sign acknowledgement papers that basically is to protect the finance company.Lets hope Nissan will change and correct NMACs ways to reflect Nissan as a company it wanted to build up to. Lets hope that NMAC is not out to get Nissan buyers who finance through them. If NMAC is that bad as reviewed and people are paying more than they agreed to, why is NMAC and Nissan still allowed to continue their obviously wrong practice without consumers joining forces to protest?

I notified Carriage Nissan in Gainesville Georgia and was told it must be a loose gas cap. I was told to continue to drive the car. After 1 week and 700 miles, I took the car in for service and was told I need a new transmission.I contacted Nissan Consumer affairs and stated my displeasure and asked specifically that the car be replaced. After about 15 days, I was notified by Nissan that they would extend the car warranty to 8 years/120k miles with a gold preferred package and Oil/ Gas/Tire rotation service package for 2 years. It was more or less a take it or leave it proposition. I had contacted Nissan regarding a shift lever failure on my 2008 Rogue. After sending in my information and then getting a reply from Nissan today, 9/7/12, (after several attempts to contact anyone), I was told by Nissan that they cannot help me with any financial help or warranty due to the part is not covered by any drivetrain warranty. As this part is not considered a drivetrain part and I am at 60,109 miles (1,009 miles over the 60,000 drivetrain warranty). It was added, additionally, that another main reason I was denied any help is I was told that I do not take my car to Nissan for any service, therefore, they cannot help me at Christopher Nissan in Woods Cross Utah. This sends a message to me that since I do not spend money at Nissan, there is not much they feel responsible for. I did have my CVT transmission serviced there as I feel it was important for the extended warranty to have it serviced. $180 on a transmission service that should only have cost no more than $75. I do my own maintenance on my cars and have completed the service needed on oil changes and rotating tires, etc. So Im not spending money at Nissan rubes wrong. From my view, the part that failed has nothing to do with service or maintenance and what I have spent at the dealer. It is related to the quality of a component. If anyone at Nissan would take time to read internet reviews on this subject, they would conclude there are many questionable concerns about this part on the Rogue and other Nissan models. So if this has come to a close about me not spending more money with Nissan to service my vehicle, I accept this and will not spend any more money with Nissan going forward. There are plenty of choices for me to where I spend my money and what car I buy. Signed, David **, one unhappy customer.

While I was holding down the brake pedal, suddenly I heard a clunk noise and felt a vibration. At this point, the car started moving on its own without a sign of slowing down. I immediately tried to step on the brake with full force but felt the brake pedal having no pressure at all. Although a safe distance was kept from the front car prior to the accident, as the brake pedal traveled down to the floor, the car continued to move closer to the front car with uncontrollable speed. At that time, the only thing I could do was to veer the car towards the right edge to avoid direct impact with the front car. Based on the owners manual, I believed the anti-lock braking system function was being erroneously activated at the time of the incident since the dry and non-slippery road condition did not warrant such activation. And what made things even worse was, for whatever the reason, the car was moving on its own with uncontrollable speed while the brake pedal pressure was completely lost due to a faulty ABS activation, which directly caused the car crash. This vehicle was purchased brand new on June 12, 2016 and a subsequent recall serviced was done on August 13, 2016 from the same dealer following a recall notice with regard to sudden acceleration safety concern. The liability insurance claim was filed for the accident. The mileage was 8740 at the time of accident. The dealer was contacted on 11/7/2016 and the service rep named Scott was refused to take the car for inspection. I called Nissan consumer affair in TN and a on-site investigation and inspection is yet to be confirmed.

On March 12, 2012, I went to pickup my newly leased Nissan and found out that the plates on the lease car I was turning in could not be transferred to the new car because the registration had been canceled on 12/30/11 without my knowledge or permission. I had to pay for new plates. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp (NMAC) and was told they knew nothing about my registration being canceled nor did my insurance company. After contacting RMV several times, I found out that my registration had been canceled online. They also told me that my plates had been returned. However, my plates were still on my car when I went to the dealership on March 12. How could they have been returned? I have also continued to pay my lease note and insurance on the car during the past three months without any knowledge of registration cancellation. I spoke with the assistant registrar of RMV in Massachusetts today, 3/15/12, and she told me that the IT department at RMV found that it had been canceled via email by a Loida ** from the Tax and Registration Department at NMAC on 12/30/11. This morning I called NMAC and they told me they now have a note regarding my cancellation that was posted on March 13th. However, they previously had no record and knew nothing about the cancellation and told me they have nothing to do with cancellation and to call the RMV. Now, the story has changed. I drove around for three months with a registration certificate in my car, which I didnt even know was invalid or cancelled. What if I had been in a serious accident? I am also required to pay excise taxes in Massachusetts. I received a letter from Nissan in December that they would be including it in my lease bill in the upcoming months as they usually do. I contacted the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts on 3/12/12 and found that they had not received notification to send Nissan a bill from the RMV, which indicated that something occurred like my registration being canceled. Now, I am afraid that this would happen anytime and frequently. I would then have to pay for new registration, new plates and explain and prove to RMV that it’s not me and why its being canceled. This is a major problem for me. I have contacted the governors office, Attorney General, RMV and Nissan looking for help. I need assistance.

A brand new Nissan Rogue 2015, purchased two months ago, only being driven 1200 miles, suddenly broke down on the road. The power got shut down and unable to restart the car. My husband waited outside hoping someone would stop and help us jump start our car. Waited long time. Finally got help and successful recharge the car. After we drove 10 mins it broke down again. We had to ask someone to jump start our car again and pulled it off the street. The car shutdown itself after 5 mins.We called Nissan road service and they said they will come within a hour but we waited 5 hours for them. We were so anger because we cant leave the car there, its blocking someone elses car. 5 hours we waited, whole day was ruined. They kept lying to us saying they would come soon. We paid $1600 more on Nissan car dealership for the additional car service. I am still so angry. We couldnt go to work. So regret that we chose Nissan. The car is bad quality and the service is terrible.

Your dealer cheated us very well and I am willing to complain in the BBB and TV. I bought a Nissan Rogue on July 2011 from Power Nissan Tempe for $23,500. The finance manager was Larry, who does not inform the buyer of what type of contract is the deal. I paid $10,000 cash and was happy that I owe only $13,500. After I received my statement from Chase Bank, I got shocked because they charged me for $31,000. When I called the dealer, he said I signed the contract. The charge was for extended warranty, lowjack and other things which did make no sense to me or my husband. On September 15, I went to the dealers store and talked to the general manager Mr. Randy **. After explaining the situation, he agreed to reduce some nonsense charge. We signed the reduction paper and handed to Larry, the finance manager. He promised me to take care of the problem within 6 weeks. Today, 2 months passed and nothing has changed. I called a couple of times today, nobody answered. I look like a jock to them. They play games with people. I would like to send a letter to my governor and call all the news.

Dear Nissan, for everyone that had a car before the policies changed for the 8 payment extensions to 6 payment extensions you should still honor them because we were told something that is no longer being honored. I understand that it is a courtesy, but that doesnt change the fact that you should honor your word to us because when you say something you should do it. Especially for some of us who have been loyal towards our payments and the Nissan Corporation. Also, we never get anything for being a customer. We hardly get discounts and the service team at almost every location is always trying to sell you another car for overpriced numbers. Unsatisfied.

Purchased car in April 2012. It is a convertible, just in time to enjoy for the summer. But that did not happen because within a month of having the car just in time to use for the nice weather, the car was in for service because the roof would not go up and down - 3x this happened. Then the winter came, no problems, because you dont look to put the roof down. The summer of 2013 is here and the car is in for service again - entire roof was replaced and still does not work properly. The car has been at 2 different dealerships in the 16 months I have owned it for a total of 7 times. One dealership even tried to give me the car back with the windows not closing properly.

We purchased a new 2015 Nissan Rogue with a CVT transmission, we also paid for an extended warranty. We have since put 91,000 highway miles on the vehicle. The transmission began to stutter and lightly slip at random intervals. I DROVE it to an authorized dealer (Antwerpen Nissan here in Owings Mills, MD). They told us that after ($149) diagnosis, it needed a valve body and cooling assembly. We were then informed that it needed a new Catalytic converter as well. They stated that our extended warranty expired at 60,000 miles, but Nissan would cover 60% of the transmission work. After replacing the parts, the vehicle was still doing the same thing and now would not shift out of 1st gear. We were informed that we were now responsible for an additional $1377.00 for another transmission part. Remember that I drove the vehicle there, with NO issues of shifting our of 1st gear. Bill at this point would now be around $3700.00. They have now replaced the additional part (I was not told what the mysterious part is) and again the vehicle will still not shift out of 1st gear and still slips. I have now been told that they will have to try and figure out what to do next, however it will of course be an additional charge. They have had the Rogue for 2 weeks now, they DID provide a courtesy car after 4 days. I have cited multiple online recalls for 2012 to 2018 Nissan Rogue with the CVT transmission, as well as lawsuits I have found about them. I was told that my vehicle is not listed by the Highway administration as being part of any recall or bulletin. BEWARE. We are adult drivers who are not rough on our vehicles. We are without our vehicle, currently sitting at a huge bill, a broken vehicle that has only gotten worse from the work that was done, and still waiting to hear how much MORE we will have to pay to get our Rogue back.

After taking very good care of my 2008 Nissan Altima, I reached the end date of my lease and returned the car to the dealership from whom I took out the original lease agreement, Bridgewater Nissan in Bridgewater New Jersey. The dealer accepted my car and I moved on. Then, I received a letter from NMAC telling me that I owed Nissan $2,167.61! The letter stated that due to Excess Wear And Use, they were assessing me this fee. Now, so as to avoid the appearance of editorializing, heres a few facts on what really happened: 1) I was not present when the actual inspection was done; 2) I took great care of the car during the time I leased (e.g. always garaged) and I put 4 brand new tires on before I turned it in and 3) there is no way of knowing how NMAC arrived at the charges listed on the letter. The only conclusion one can draw is that (as others on this site have asserted), this is simply a way for Nissan to create new revenue streams during a time when American cars are in the ascendancy. So, lesson learned - from now on, I will only be buying/leasing vehicles from reputable sources such as Ford and GM and not from duplistic makers such as Nissan!

Bought my 2012 Rogue in April 2012. Its been a great car to me, love how it handles in the snow. Now in April 2017 and 72,000 miles later, I need a new transmission. Despite the fact that I did not buy the extended warranty, I should not have to replace a transmission this soon. Apparently there have been recalls regarding the CVT transmissions (Nissan is well aware of their problems) but my VIN was not included... Hmmm... I wonder why. Since it is out of warranty, I am not bringing it to a Nissan dealership for repair as they will only charge me more than my hometown garage. I am going to have the transmission replaced and then trade it in. Time to go back to buying American. Since I bought my Rogue I have recommended the car to so many people. Now I am sorry I did that. $4000 down the drain.

In the past, I have owned two Nissan cars, a 1992 Sentra and a 2004 Murano, both paid in full. Well, in 2012, the transfer case/transmission went out on my Murano and the cost to get it repaired was going to be over $3,500 plus labor. Because of lack of income and I just started to work as a caretaker, I could not afford to get it repaired at that time (I loved my Murano). I had to check online and found there are so many people that had problems with the transfer case on their Murano (I do not know why Nissan has never done a recall). Since October 2012, I have been renting a car at Enterprise, which I was paying over $1,081.00 a month. So if you do the math, I have been giving Enterprise, over $8,600 for the last 8 months. So, I had been praying about what to do and since I was paying this money every month, I thought I would try to go to Nissan dealership in Victorville, California to see if they would help me get a used car. I was looking around and a salesperson asked me if I needed any help, I told him that I was looking for a used car. I explained to him my financial situation and what was going on with credit. He went and got another salesperson; they went and got a sales manager and they did the numbers. I told them that I could afford to pay $400.00 a month. Next thing I was told go and test drive a 2013 Nissan Sentra. I told them that I did not want to have very high payments. Well, I was told that my payments would be around $400 plus a month. When we got back from test driving, the salesperson told me the black Sentra which was on the show floor would be the car that I would drive off with. I told them that my credit was not good, but they told me that I did not have to worry about anything. So, on May 10, 2013, I drove off in a brand new car from Valley Hi Nissan in Victorville. Well, to my nightmare; on June 14, 2013 I received a call from Mr. George ** one of the finance managers. Nissan had denied my loan because I could not show even funds in my bank account. I told him that if Nissan would have looked at my statements carefully, they would have seen that all my funds were going to Enterprise every week to cover for the car I was renting from them. I told them that if they did the numbers, they would see how much I was spending every week. Mr. ** told me that Nissan did not care about me renting a car; they wanted to see the funds in the account. I told him, How can I keep the funds in the account, if I am renting every week? He told me to bring the car back to the dealership in Victorville. I am very upset with this whole situation because Nissan never gave me an opportunity to even make one payment. I understand that I have had some credit issues, which is not Nissan and the banks problem, but how many people in America are having problems with their credit? I am very upset with the people at the dealership, because now they are saying, Well, we did all we could do. You know, if we mess up how credit scores, the bank and finance companies will hold our past over our heads until we die, and sometimes they hold the past still against who have died. All I wanted them to do is to at least give me a chance to make the payments. So now, here I am back to renting a car so I can get to work, and the dealership has their car which now is a used car. So who wins? I just thank GOD that he does hold our past against us for life.

When I purchased a 2011 Nissan Frontier, I was asked, How would you like your payments to be made? Through automatic withdrawal or through mail? I clearly stated that I would like an online account that would draft my payments automatically on the 17th day of every month. When I first discovered that payments were being taken from my online account and through mail, I contacted my bank to stop the payment. I then contacted Nissan to inform them I did not want my account being drafted twice a month. Fast forward to a year later: the same thing, but only this time Nissan Finance writes an email to me apologizing for mistakenly drafting twice out of my account. I took the initiative to cancel one of the two payments that they were taking. Once I did, Nissan did the same thing; therefore, no payment was received for the month of July. Harassing phone calls everyday all day began approximately 4 days after. I spoke with a lot of callers (all of which I cant understand due to language barriers). I explained my grievance and they said, Sorry, but you now must make a payment for last month.” I find this company to be poorly run, disorganized and filled with negligence across the board. I can promise that this Nissan 2011 Frontier will be the last Nissan I buy and I will gladly share this story with anyone interested in buying a Nissan.

Nissan is one of the most crooked companies in the world. Many people do not know that they have been committing criminal business practices for ten years now by fooling consumers with their fancy CVT transmissions that have prematurely failed on tens of thousands of Versas, Sentras, Rogues and other models and it is a disgrace that they have been allowed to get away with this kind of egregious behavior for so long. A class action lawsuit was filed against Nissan, but many car owners never received the details of the lawsuit until it was almost in settlement which settled in March 2020. Sadly this court in Tennessee and all the crooked lawyers attached to this class action lawsuit really received all the benefits of the settlement but tens of thousands of Nissan owners were left out in the cold because they sneakingly increased the warranty to a random 84,000 miles when many many transmissions have failed after that mileage but still very prematurely. I am one of those victims and had I known about the crookedness of this disgusting company I would have never purchased my 2015 Sentra from Hertz. My transmission started showing failure issues at approximately 70,000 miles, but it finally totally failed at 99,000 miles. I only found out about the class action lawsuit because of the research I was doing online and taking the car to a repair service to find out it had failed. I petitioned the court and objected to the settlement, but because there were only a few of us who objected, the judge denied the objection. I am not done with this, but because of the pandemic, I am not able to reach the news media investigative teams to report this crookery. It is an unconscionable act that Nissan has duped 100s of thousands of customers the last ten years. I intend on writing to the newspapers to further expose these crooks. They do not deserve being in business, and if people knew how the company was run and their ex CEO is an international fugitive, people maybe would stop buying their cars. Adding insult to injury I just received a disgusting piece of mail that Nissan has been forced to send to Nissan owners extending this disgusting warranty only because they were mandated to do so. What about the other 100s of thousands of customers who already got screwed? And furthermore, they have made it so repair services cant rebuild them, they have to purchase an already rebuilt transmission probably from a company that is connected to them. The cost is prohibitive for most of us, a whopping $4,000. My poor car has been sitting outside unable to be driven for seven months now and furthermore these cars will have no resale value due to the criminal business practices of Nissan. Couldnt get any worse than this!

I purchased brand new Versa Note in August 2014, from the beginning the car was acting strangely - turning signal didnt work properly, the car was wavering on the road, made all weird cracking sounds and after every long ride, burning smell was coming out from left and rights tires. I brought it to Nissan services, but they couldnt determine the problem. I dont know anything about the cars, but can tell that eventually part of the axle was changed. Two weeks later I was driving back to Nissan with emergency lights on. Car was shaking so badly that I couldnt keep it in one lane. Once they took it on a test drive the wheel fell off!!! And they had to evacuate my car!! No one knows what was the problem, but they decided to replace the whole axle. Thanks God I didnt take a freeway that morning when I was bringing my car to a dealership! I am not satisfied!! I am pissed!! I am upset!! I purchased a new car, because I believed it would give me a sense of safety and security. But actually I got a lemon instead!! Mine and my kids life was put in danger! The car has a bit more than 5.000 miles on it, I am so caring with it, but it is bad. I am afraid to drive it now, even when it is being fixed, one week ago the wheel came off (which I doubt happens on a regular bases), how can I know that one week from now the roof will not be blown away or the car will not explode, or something else!!And another thing - when I cancelled some of my Christmas plans and was ready to go to pick up my car, Nissan representative called me and left a voice mail, saying: Oh, the car is not ready yet, I forgot to tell you that while we were fixing the axle we scratched the bumper... It sounded like they forgot to fill up the tank! I dont know if they are the one who responsible for the wheel falling off (because 2 weeks before it happened they were replacing the bolt) or Nissan just makes lemons, but I want this crap to be resolved! I have never heard or been in such a ridiculous and at the same time stupid and banal situation! I am going to talk to a lawyer. I want you to replace my car, return my money or other options. But I dont want to have any business with your company anymore. It is a big name, but a thin quality level.

I purchased a car from Nissan for my son so that he could get to school safely. We test drove the car together (fully loaded with GPS sirius XM). After we completed the details of the car purchase, my son got the car and drove off. I made the fatal mistake of trusting the salesman. I did not realize the mistake until I asked to borrow my sons car. BLUF, I contacted, Nissan the internet manager called, recorded our conversation and she kept pausing in 5 min intervals as if she were thinking of how to find words to tell me I had the right car. She asked if I came in on the 16K special, I said no, I thought I was getting the car that had sirius XM and GPS. So then she tells me my salesman was out of the country and then she said another far fetch explanation. I contacted Nissan Corp and was assigned a case # so Heidi calls me every 3 days while I am at work or when she is about to leave for the day to check the block to ask if the manager of Bowie Nissan has contacted me. I returned her call and left a message asking to receive an email and she said she is unable to write an email. I was very specific in a detail letter and she leaves a message to say to call her if I have concerns. I will never refer my friends to Bowie Nissan and yes I have many friends who are in need a car including my daughter. I will refer then to Acura, Acura does not rip off its customers. The financial advisor lied initially to me about qualifying for a higher loan and I have excellent credit. The bank gave me a much better loan than Nissan tried to offer for less years. I have seen cars that are clearly marked Altima 2.5S. The paperwork noting what is attached to the vehicle also coincides to read Altima 2.5S. My sons car says ALTIMA S and his paperwork says ALTIMA 2.5S. The fair thing for Nissan to do would be to add the features that we paid for. We have paperwork that clearly says 2.5S

They kept my car about a week and returned after added 160 miles on it and told me it is all done, they updated the software but guess what, it didnt work. Very next day, I had to take my car again. It is still there, no answer, no explanation. Dealership said nissan has a issue with pathfinder, then why they need to launch this vehicle.

It all started on July 6th when we took our 2014 Rogue (which was purchased in 2015) in due to damage to the clear coat. If you are not familiar with clear coat it is the top protective layer applied to the paint job. The damage was caused by bird droppings. We had a car detailer look at it and he informed us that if the dealer attempted to buff it out that it would scratch the paint because the clear coat was so thin. When the car was taken in to the Nissan service department in Duarte, Louisa the body shop manager and Paul ** the sales manager were informed of the situation. When the car was ready for us to pick up (7/10) we found more damage done than when we left it. Over spray on the tail lights, roof rails, side, rear, and spoiler.Since then we have talked to GM Matt, Consumer Affairs and will be calling the BBB. It has been over a month now and we are still in a rental car because every time the vehicle is supposedly ready they seem to find new ways to damage the vehicle. The car is now at the 3rd party body shop which last time we checked (8/10) left spots on the interior seating and shifting counsel. Before going to the body shop the dealer in Duarte scratched the paint trying to do a quick buff job like we warned them not to do. Then when they finally broke down and decided to clear coat the entire vehicle like we requested from the start, they ended up scratching the window frames and still left over spray on side mirrors and tail lights. The car is no longer new thanks to their lack of understanding and attention to detail. We have totally lost enthusiasm in owning our Nissan and feel like our joy of buying a new car and the hard work that went into it has been robbed from us. Then another sales manager called us in and offered us a newer model with a higher monthly rate to help resolve the issue, which just enraged us even more for wasting our time and again being misleading. Never again will we be fooled by Nissan, and the word will spread.

Since day 1 of having my Nissan Rogue 2016 SL FWD, have had constant issues. Front auto braking sensor malfunctioned the day I drove it off the lot in July 2016. Didnt have my car for 2 weeks, dealership was clueless on when the parts would be coming in. Dealership said they would paid for all the gas consumed in their loaner car for those two weeks and they paid 75% of it. At that point, didnt care to deal with them. Factory tires on the Rogue are junk, so loud on the highway. Acceleration is awful and the gas pedal vibrates. Had issues with something being loose in the driver side door, made a chirping sound when I closed it. Passenger door does the same thing now. Back door hatch makes a noise when turning or backing out of the driveway. Took the dealership and they took it all apart, broke a couple clips for the back trim and put it back on anyways thinking I wouldnt notice. Took it to the dealership I bought it at, the Midwest Regional tech and Service manager messed with my back door to get it to stop making noise and said they would order all new parts for it. They never called me back when the parts came in so I just now have them doing the work. Now my steering wheel shakes a ton when braking on the highway with speed over 50mph, its back in the shop for a second time to figure out the problem after a quick resurface of the rotors. I will never suggest a Nissan to anyone ever again, these cars are junk. Overheard so many complaints about their new Nissans from other customers while I was in the dealership the other day.

To say Im disgusted would be an understatement. On Saturday when I tried to leave my house my car was humming and driving slow so I assumed the oil was low. I went to have the oil changed and it drove fine for the rest of the day. Monday it started acting up again so I added transmission fluid and did some research online and noticed that Nissan was extending the warranty on the CVT transmission (obviously others were having issues). Im being told now by Nissan that my warranty is VOID since I added transmission fluid. Really?? First of all no one even contacted me. I had to find out when the car starting acting up by doing my own research. If you are shopping for a car DO NOT get a NISSAN. The way they treated me today was horrible. Nissan Consumer Fair showed the worst customer service today, but I guess they carry themselves the way Nissan does.

Service Department issues-- NEVER AGAIN! My 2008 Rogue showed some weird transmission issues on a trip to Virginia on 4 occasions. After some research we learned about a CVT issue with the Nissan transmissions in these autos. Called our service department to report the issue and they took us right away. They acknowledged the transmission issue and related the steps that should be taken 1) schedule and service the transmission 2) a add-on cooler product 3) new transmission. Nissan, as an aside, has increased the warranty on these transmissions from 60,000 to 120,000 miles, acknowledging the issue.I called Nissans consumer affairs department to report the issue and to see if I was a candidate to replace my transmission. My car is used on long journeys often and this CVT issue only happens when the transmission has heated up because of a long journey - 200-300 miles. Once its cooled down, it corrects itself; however, when it happens, one loses all transmission power and acceleration ability. I also wanted Nissan consumer affairs to understand that we use this vehicle on Rt. 95 and we could be killed if we cannot get our car to accelerate.I spoke with 2 different reps who were empathetic, then my last encounter was with someone very rude. It was then I asked for a manager to call and she did. She was pleasant and understanding. I outlined my concern and she and I agreed that if there were any symptoms of the issue again, I would call her immediately and we would address it then. I was satisfied at this juncture and felt comfortable with our agreement. I then received a customer satisfaction survey from Nissan about my service experience. While the team at Hawthorne Nissans service department was nice and helpful, I didnt give Nissan a good customer satisfaction survey because I wasnt satisfied with my vehicles issue. The survey prompted a call from the service director who was concerned about his service departments score and wanted to do a deeper dive on my vehicle problem. I told him at the present time there werent any issues. He said he wanted to replicate the drive so they could experience the problem by taking my car for the weekend and giving it to the errand person and then having the service manager drive it home which is about an hour from the service center. I advised that this short driving would NEVER replicate the issue.Nevertheless, I was agreed and dropped my car off with the understanding that I would need a loaner vehicle. They hesitated but agreed. I stopped after work and picked up the loaner which had just over a quarter of a tank of gas and was given strict instructions that I must return it with exactly the same amount of gas. Ok. Then as I sat in the drivers seat they said, oh by the way, the passengers side door doesnt work.I took the loaner and parked it in my driveway. It was of no use to me without an operating passenger door. This is when my husband got involved. First thing Monday I called about my car and was told they couldnt find anything which I knew would be the case. I told them Id be in to get it. This was after my husband called and addressed the broken SERVICE department loaner issue with the director who seemed nonplussed about the entire situation. The story gets better because my car tire light was on when I got into my car. Remember the Service manager drove my car and I was appalled that he couldnt put a tire gauge on it and see if it needed air. What kind of service is that? Oh, and I had to throw away the lunch garbage that someone left in my vehicle too. Last, I learned that my car had been sitting in the service department parking lot the entire weekend. We did call back consumer affairs and reported the incident. My husband did re-engage with the service director who basically blew him off with an Oh well. This was after he told him never again would we service our car with Nissan or buy another Nissan vehicle. I pray that this transmission issue doesnt arise again and we arent killed on the highway. Im hoping to be rid of this car before anything else happens.

I was in an accident at the approx speed of 40mph, impact was drivers front and rear. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt did not catch, allowing me to hit the steering wheel with my right shoulder and throwing my glasses to the floor. Please explain to me why there was no deployment of any air bags and why my seat belt did not lock especially at that speed, I think because that was the biggest selling point, the safety. How can I have confidence in the safety and what the company states and the actual result?

I leased a 2013 Nissan Leaf two years ago from Peoria Nissan in Arizona. At the time, the salesman told me not to worry about the battery because Nissan just replaces them if there is any problem. That is totally a lie, and Peoria Nissan will not be of any assistance to me with my Nissan Leaf that has a range now of 59 miles (maybe) in the winter with no heater on. Dont ask about how it fares in the summer - it is ugly to say the least. I now have one more year to suffer through this vehicle because Nissan says the battery charges up to 10 bars and must decline to 8 bars.We know that this does not take into account battery fade - in other words - yes, it looks good when it is first charged, but like all failing batteries, the range quickly decreases as soon as you pull out of your driveway. My lesson in all of this is that Peoria Nissan lies to its customers - yes I know I should not be surprised, and that the manufacturer is choosing to make folks keep a car that simply does not meet the needs stated by the buyer when purchasing the car. I expected somewhere in the range of 70 miles which would allow me to drive back and forth to my work site daily and make a couple side trips as well. This was all explained to the salesman when I leased the car. He is no longer with the dealership. So, I asked if the dealer would work with me on terminating my lease and getting a 2016 Leaf that supposedly had a better battery. Unlike the salesmans reassurances that it was no big deal to end the lease after 24 months, the dealer asked for the entire amount of the last 12 payments and the car. The explanation was that Nissan had changed its lease terms and that the residual value stated in my contract was no longer really valid. The upshot was that for over 900 dollars per month, I could get out of my current lease, turn in my car and get a comparable 2016 Nissan Leaf. Ha Ha Ha. I am laughing only because I am happy to share this saga with anyone who might be foolish enough to trust Nissan and buy or lease one of their vehicles. My advice - just because their contracts are preprinted - insist on adding terms that the salesman tells you in writing and have them initial them. You will then perhaps find out what the real deal is. Thanks for listening.

I asked Nissan to get me out of the lease since the truck is unreliable and unsafe, and they have been giving me excuse after excuse. Coming from a Loyal Nissan customer FOR ELEVEN PLUS YEARS, I am disgusted at their lack of care and concern for issues that my recent lease CAME WITH. I just signed this lease, trading in my old one at the end of May. I will NEVER go with Nissan again after my recent experiences with the Patchogue, NY Dealership and Consumer Affairs absolute lack of care and effort to mend anything. Problems at the dealership level have left me going to Consumer Affairs which were of no further help at all. They act as if all of this is out of their hands and there is nothing to do to reassure their efforts at trying to make me satisfied. They cannot get one person on the phone to speak with me. I have had issues regarding my new 2018 lease 3 months in, leaving it in the shop to be repaired with NO ETA of time it will be done (because items are back-ordered) and ready for me to drive again. Though they did mention maybe some time in October... awesome because I dropped off my car on 8/27. I also only get this info through voicemails because every time I try to call back it goes to voicemail and I wont receive another call until they have their scheduled time to call me back. Horrible customer service and quality of care.My new lease has a safety brake issue where the auto safety break will go off when no one is around, breaking my car while going 40+ mph. Apparently this is a VERY COMMON issue (talk about safety) with ALL Nissan models starting with the VIN K. So Id check your VIN because I am sure if you dont say anything about it, they wont either. I have also had the issue of my backup camera lagging and freezing as backing up since the beginning. There was no point to even use it because it was inaccurate and dangerous to do so. My radio has also just decided to black out one day for a good 10 minutes. Couldnt do anything about it. This is my THIRD time back to the dealership where they finally kept the car to fix it fully, even after showing them video evidence of my experiences the second time I went back.Patchogue has provided me a loaner of not even the same model or year of my current Rogue lease. Which is fine and I normally wouldnt care, BUT at this point, still paying for a new lease yet driving around an older vehicle for over a month has me fuming. I have been polite and patient up until now. The back and forth phone calls that go nowhere are leaving me stressed and in disbelief with this company. I am in shock and SO dissatisfied with all this new 2018 Nissan Rogue and Nissan Customer Service has come with. This is my fourth Nissan, third lease. I have NEVER had an experience like this. I am beyond shocked and pissed.

I had to have my 2009 370Z towed to the dealership twice. The dealership did not know the cause and the car just started after some testing. They released the car not knowing if it would do it again. 1-2 weeks later, on a Monday morning, the car did not start after my appointment with a client. The dealership, after weeks of review, could not test out or get the car started. In the meantime, I am working with a gal at consumer affairs. I told her what happened, and a week she called back stating they are not accepting the claim as if it were an owner maintenance issue and 3 months out of warranty. As we found, it was an electrical something in the steering column locking the car down as if it were being stolen. This is certainly not an owner maintenance issue and the car was only at about 32,000 miles. This little bit of time did not affect the outcome and certainly not the mileage. The problem is Nissan did not want to stand behind a known problem in other vehicles with the similar theft deterrent systems, but also because of the cost of replacing the whole steering columns - $1,200 plus. Welcome to my first Nissan experience. I will not buy another.

I purchased a 2011 SL Nissan Juke a little over 2 years ago. I chose the Nissan Juke because, at the time, it seemed like the perfect balance of practicality and aesthetics for a car under 25k. About 1 year into ownership, the car began to lose its ability to retain a battery charge. Several times the car needed a jump start. I took it into the dealership, and was told the battery was faulty -- hard to believe for a car just 1-year off the lot. I changed the batter per the dealerships recommendations. At about 68,000 miles, I take in the car to get checked out because of a rattling noise coming from the engine. A diagnostic was run, and I was told that I would be looking at a $2500 repair to replace and/or repair the timing chain, which, according to the tech, I should do sometime soon. At 70,000 miles, the vehicle completely stalls out while driving and eventually decelerates to a complete stop. The car no longer started, and I had to have it towed to the dealership. Now, the Nissan dealership is telling me that I need a completely new engine because there was damage caused by the timing-chain, which end up costing nearly $10,000. Ive since then learned that there are countless other Nissan Juke owners that have had the exact same thing happen to them. Not surprisingly, a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Nissan on the exact same issue. I need information regarding becoming a part of a class-action lawsuit filed against Nissan for failure to disclose knowledge about a faulty timing-chain design, and subsequent failure to issue a necessary recall on the model to repair the defect.

I have had my Leaf for just under 2 years and 10 months. It has a key-FOB for keyless starting system (push button start) and to lock/unlock the doors. My car did not recognize either of my keys yesterday while I was about 5 miles from home. I walked home and called service, and I was told that either the battery was dead or that the car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize the FOB. I could unlock the door with a real key, but there was no way to start the car without the FOB. Not only was there no back-up method to start the vehicle, I was told I had to bring the key-FOB to the dealer to have the battery replaced; I could not just change it myself. I found this hard to believe. After getting the car to Nissan service, it was determined that the key-and-car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize each other and that this was not something that was covered under warranty. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and I was told that warranties cover something wrong with the car not the key. If the car doesnt recognize the key, and needs to be reprogrammed, how is this not a problem with the car? Also, certainly there should be a back up to start a keyless car. Also, customers should be able to replace batteries in their FOBs.

Im on my second leased vehicle from Nissan, and until today, I have never had an issue with the vehicle and/or Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC). Last year, I decided to take a job out of state, and I brought the vehicle with me on a trailer. I called Nissan and informed of them my change of address as soon as I has settled in, so that the correct taxes were included on my monthly bill and any correspondence would be forwarded to my new address. I also inquired about early termination penalties since I knew I would be getting a company vehicle in 2016. I drove my Nissan for a few months, until my company car was available, and then it just sat in my garage. A couple of months after that, I decided I didnt want to keep paying insurance for a vehicle that I wasnt using, so I called NMAC and spoke to an agent about my options. This was sometime in February or March 2016 and my lease isnt up until December 2016. I was told by an agent (whose name I didnt write down) that I could return the vehicle after inspection and continue to make my automatic monthly payments until the end of my lease agreement. She arranged for AIM to come inspect the vehicle at my home and gave me instructions for the dealership. She was actually very helpful. Shortly after my inspection, I returned the vehicle to a nearby dealership and continued to make my monthly payments. However, on July 5, I received a letter from NMAC requesting the remaining balance on my account by July 16. I called the NMAC customer service number and was told by another agent that once I returned the vehicle to the dealership, my account was closed and my automatic payments were stopped. I offered to pay the 3 months of missed payments due to the oversight, and reinstate my automatic payments until the end of my lease agreement in December, but this apparently is not an option. The only option now is pay the remaining balance owed by July 16. If I do not make a payment by then (today is July 25), my account will be sent to collections. Had I known about this policy, believe me, I would not have returned my vehicle in April. I was provided incorrect information by the agent I spoke to in February or March of this year, and I am not being penalized for it. I didnt receive a letter informing me of the situation, prior to this one, because the letters were being sent to my old home address. However, my cell phone number (primary number on my account) has never changed. In the 5 years I have been leasing a vehicle from Nissan, I have never missed a payment, and now I am going to be sent to collections for trying to do the responsible thing. This is not how you treat a loyal customer. I find it ridiculous that a company would rather pay a collection agency to set up a monthly payment schedule with their customer, than work with them in the first place to come to an understanding. All I want to do is keep paying my bill responsibly, as I have been for the last 5 years I have leased a vehicle with Nissan. NMACs intransigent attitude is not good customer service. I for one, will never buy or lease a vehicle from Nissan again.

A nice bug, the Micra K12, 2006, 65ps Petrol 1.2 Engine. I have bought this car from Nissan in Germany, at 71.000km, and I drove it for 9.000km. 65ps, manual gearbox, 1,2L petrol engine. 2 doors, in bamboo green. Lovely little bug. I bought it as an emergency need for a cheap car, and I am quite happy with the purchase. So happy in fact, that I decided already to change it with the newer model, 2017, 1.2L 80ps. But back to the K12 bug. Drove it mostly in Berlin, Germany, and occasionally on the Highway, maximum 130km/h due to the noise and fuel consumption, but drove it briefly up to 160km/h... (slightly downhill probably:). Pretty loud on the highway, but perfect for the city traffic. Agile between the city streets and easy to park. A bit of a stiff ride at low speeds, but quite comfortable where the road permits speeds over 50-60Km/h. Feels stable and has some power reserves until 110-120Km/h, at high RPM regime, between 3500 – 5000rpm. It responds well to the throttle paddle. The engine pulls lovely between 3rd and 4th gear, 60 to 90Km/h, it feels quite sporty. The 1st and 2nd gear are a bit slow. Never had any beef with, but yet again, for just 9k it should not be the case anyway. The gear box felt sometimes a bit too long, but it did the job. I would have kept it, but I just wanted the newer model. Overall a good experience. Hope the new model will follow the trend.

Leased new Infiniti QX70 in 2017. Never missed a payment, or late. I provided this information so that you can confirm that I have been a committed customer of your product and the reason I have stood by the Nissan product is due to not only the reliability, dependability and low maintenance of the Vehicles but more importantly we are a family on a fixed budget like many families and having a low maintenance cost vehicle is that more important to us. We live in the great hot state of Florida the city of Orlando and having an AC unit that works properly in our vehicle is a crucial component. Our 2014 Nissan only has 34,216 miles on it - yes it is outside of the warranty for the years but the mileage average is less than 10K a year and no one would expect the AC compressor to go bad with such low mileage in a Nissan Product, my 2009 Sentra still blows cold air with over 100K mileage. Up until now I have had no issues with any of the Four Nissan Vehicle that we have purchased and its shocking to me to have a major component go bad with only 34,000 miles driven. Yesterday I paid $160.39 to have the vehicle diagnosed and confirmed to have a bad compressor by my local Nissan dealership. I believe Nissan should really stand by their product and Recommend Goodwill and replace the bad unit free of charge to me for such an unusual circumstance.

I purchased a new 2015 Nissan PathFinder in October 2015 and the car currently only has 2300 miles. I took my vehicle to Nissan Montclair for inspection because the airbag light was flashing on the dashboard. Upon inspection, they informed me that the 2 front passenger sensors underneath the seat were broken. They stated that they would not fix the issue unless I pay for repairs since they insist that I caused the damage which is absolutely absurd. The comments on the report state Right front seat damaged due to objects underneath the seat. Attached is an image of the broken sensors and my toddlers plastic snack container which they claimed caused the damage.

I own a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE& a 2009 Sentra FE both with transmission issues, the Pathfinder was not a part of a recall with the radiator that did the transmission cooling as well as engine cooling. Radiator developed a crack between the coolant and ATF CHAMBER AND THE FLUIDS MIXED, my car was running perfectly until this happened, then the transmission started to slip. When I went to Nissan they said my vehicle vin was not apart of the recall so I would not receive a warranty extension/replacement or reimbursement to the tune of $6,000 + if I repaired it myself. I spent over $36,000 on the purchase of the SUV brand new 0 miles except for the few I put on it in a test drive. Needless to say this is not an isolated issue, the web is full of complaints like this with Nissans faulty radiator. Now my poor car just sits, I still maintain her, changing the oil, air in tires starting her, wash her, I paid off the car so its just a waste. Then comes 2009. I still have confidence in Nissan even though they screwed me and 4 of my other extended family members with the same issue with their Frontier, Xterra, Armada, and Quests. We have always been a Datsun, Nissan loyalist but after my current issue with a 2009 Sentra with a CVT transmission issue. Im over Nissan and so are my family members. We have as a family given Nissan close to half a million dollars in vehicles that cant even last 10 years. We are all switching to Honda/ Toyota/Subaru, from now on, shame, I was looking at the gtr too. Nissan can take their failed business and product and shove it. Im tired of Japanese companies adopting failed American business practices, no loyalty to the customer/consumer anymore after they have our money. Everytime I see a Nissan I warn the driver of the radiator issue. I have found with one random person I was able to see the oil mixing already when he checked his radiator reservoir with me there because he was confident I was crazy, when he saw his radiator reservoir had oil he thanked me and said he was going to the dealership to get the radiator replaced before its too late. I felt accomplished but pissed because had I known I would have had the radiator replaced, recall or not, if your radiator does your atf cooling I recommend getting an external separate ATF cooler regardless if its an issue or not. I have recently purchased a Subaru and looking to purchase a Honda this weekend, Subaru understood my issue and offered to put in a separate atf cooler with the purchase. I will be asking Honda to do the same. Per Subaru, most manufactures are going that route by having a combined radiator. But I will no longer go this route with any other future purchases, Ill have them separate the cooling or not purchase.

I bought a new vehicle to replace my old one which was destroyed in an accident. Bought a Nissan since the last 4 cars between my wife & myself have been Nissans & they were all pretty good. Bought the car May 31 14 & by November it was completely dead. Long story short, it is presently at the dealership for the 6th time & still not fixed. It has been there for 3 weeks & they dont even return my phone calls to update the status. I had an oil change on 9/24 & they phoned me the next day, & followed it up with 2 e-mails asking about my experience, but they wont fix my car or keep me in the loop! I got on the dealerships chat line this afternoon & Donna promised to have them get back to me & also promised to e-mail me a transcript of our conversation for my records. She did neither! If this company had a spread of decency they would be ashamed!

I purchased the vehicle in 2010. I asked for a CARFAX report and received a CARFAX for another vehicle stating there is no accident or issue with the car. The vehicle was bought used with 36,000 miles. At 65,000 miles, my transmission started to give me problems and needed to be replaced. I got the transmission replaced. At about 75,000 miles, the transmission required replacement again and was fixed. Recently, at 84,000 miles, the transmission needed replacement again. My vehicle is covered under warranty till 120,000 miles. But this constant problem is a huge hindrance in my work and life. Ive contacted Nissan North America to have them only say they’re sorry for the issues and to try nothing. What am I supposed to do when the warranty is up and I can’t afford a $3,000 transmission repair? Im extremely upset by this and need actions to be taken to remedy the problem.

Called Nissan, they took my info and got back to me the next day with a sorry, warranty has expired, we cant help you so $970.02 out of pocket. Im pissed! I have been reading the problems with the Nissans... WOW... When I bought mine it had 46,000 on it, that was 18 months ago. I dropped my car Nissan Altima 2012 off Monday and since they didnt have it done by Tuesday they offered me a rental for free. It is Wednesday and I just picked up my car. I have had problems with this car from the get go... I am now on transmission #3 in 18 months. They have never charged me a penny and our dealership out here is amazing! I have called Nissan North America yesterday and they said they would call me today by 5:00. I had leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant, the hospital I see my doctor at is 120 miles away. With the first transmission I would be doing approx 75 mph in the fast lane and all of a sudden nothing. It completely shut down. I have been nearly (could have been fatal) car crashes 3 times. You know how hard it is going from the fast lane to the slow lane with no power. Anyway, I feel terrible for you all paying so much money out. I have been lucky, on my first transmission I was 300 miles from the warranty expiring. I wish you all the best. I am afraid to drive my car now. Fingers crossed for Nissan North America.

I had my 2011 Nissan Versa towed into the Service Department. They quoted me $1000 to replace the fuel tank. Do they not realize that next month is Christmas??? I said No thank you. I will come by and get my vehicle and take it home and replace the fuel tank on my own. When I arrived Darryl ** and Eric informed me I owed them $55. I asked for what? They said because they had to drive the vehicle in and out of the shop twice. So they are just charging me because they drove my vehicle around. Are they serious??? Really? They did nothing to my car. They only inspected it and looked at it. They did no work whatsoever to it. But they want to charge me $55.I mentioned Ive been in the Air Force for 18 years. Is there any way to waive this. They said no. Wow. They apparently must rip off everyone with what all the comments below say! Everyone seems to have the same complaint and mention being ripped off. I see a pattern here. Hmmm!!! It is also apparent to me that Nissan of Melbourne does not support the military. Seriously if they did would they not have waived the fee??? I plan to mention to every military member I know, and ask them to mention to every military member they know not to go to this place, and not to go to any Nissan at all because they consistently rip people off and do not support the military in my eyes. Would anybody else agree with me?

Over the past 12 years, I have purchased 6 Nissan vehicles, with the last being in May of this year. In all those years, I have never been late on a payment and have sometimes paid my loans off early. Unfortunately, I filed for bankruptcy two years ago, which was granted. The only thing I kept from that was my Nissan vehicle. In May of 2012, I traded my 2006 Pathfinder for a 2012 Rogue and received financing at 1.9% from the dealership in California where I had purchased several other cars. Since then, I have retired from law enforcement and moved my family to Bowling Green, KY. On 11/07/12, we went to the local dealership to look at the new Nissan Pathfinders. At that time, while investigating trading in our recent purchase for a new Pathfinder, I was told NMAC wouldn’t give me a reasonable interest rate again since I was lucky to get the one in May because of my bankruptcy. Having been a loyal customer and having spent the money I have with your corporation, I felt pretty cheap having been treated that way. If Nissan feels like they were doing me a favor for buying their vehicle, I will have to go somewhere else to purchase my next one.

I dont know why I never learn my lesson always coming back to this dealership. When I would search for car loans for bad credit, they would always come up. Been turned down 4x, the last humiliating incident, finally got approved through the help of a friend whos only supposed to cosign with me but ended up having the loan under his name only, my name - hopeless. So we drove home and just before the 2nd week, they called asking for my friends tax returns. Wrong timing coz this a few days before the long weekend. I was able to submit what they want right after long weekend. Now theyre saying bank got suspicious and asking for cosigner. I said, You guys are the ones who decided the loan be put solely under my friends name, and we kept you posted about the delay on the docs being asked so you can somehow keep your bank posted and now we are faced with this. My salesman said, Bank said no cosigner no deal. I said, Ok heres the key... TAKE IT. So they did even if I already put 3,000 miles in it in only a 3 wk time. What I cant forget is the humiliation of taking my stuff out under the heat of the sun and piling them up on the side of the guest parking while I wait for my friend to pick me up. FIRST TIME that I experienced such humiliation, although Im a BIG FAN of the NISSAN JUKE, and 2nd GENERATION NISSAN JUKE IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR; NEVER MIND AND NEVER AGAIN. Thanks Nissan LB. That review is posted on their website. Customer Relations messaged me and left a number to call in case I want to further discuss and get help, but for 4 days Ive been calling but no ones answering. After having it checked by my dealer/service I was told thats normal since it is how the car gets better mpg. The only way I can keep cool on long drives is to turn off the a/c when it stops cooling, wait a period of time and let the a/c reset then turn the a/c back on. The company I work for invested in a fleet of Nissan nv200 cargo vans. I happen to look after maintenance of these vehicles. After using these vehicles for some time weve come to realize it was the worst investment ever. Common issues weve seen at 70k or less. -Rear bearings wear out at~ 30-50ks. -Sliding doors are very hard to close, worst in cold weather. -Back door handle stuck open. (9 of company vans) -Vehicle struggles to move itself even when empty at high speeds. -Cvt transmission is more like a 2 gear tranny constantly shifting back and forth between overdrive (lowest gear) and high gear. -Advertised gas consumption can hardly be met. Nv200 burns a lot of gas considering its a very weak vehicle (average of 12.8 lt/100k). -Extremely non aerodynamic, wind really hurts its performance especially on high speeds 100+. (not fit for highway drives) -Windows start to get stuck at 1 year old.-Last but not least this vehicle is NOT built to handle any accidents. Two 2018s written off due to a fender bender.
