Hyundai Automobile Model 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a compact SUV that blends everyday practicality with strong fuel efficiency and modern hybrid technology. It builds on the standard Tucson platform but replaces the traditional gasoline engine with a turbocharged hybrid system that delivers more power and better fuel economy. The result is a well-rounded vehicle that appeals to drivers who want SUV versatility without high fuel costs.

Overview

The Tucson Hybrid is designed as a more efficient and slightly more powerful alternative to the gasoline Tucson. It offers the same spacious interior, advanced technology, and safety features, while adding smoother acceleration and improved efficiency through electrification.

Key highlights include:

• Hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain.
• Standard all-wheel drive on most configurations.
• Strong fuel economy for a compact SUV.
• Spacious cabin with modern digital displays.

It is especially suited for urban commuting and long highway trips where fuel savings become noticeable over time.

Hybrid Powertrain

The 2026 Tucson Hybrid uses a turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and battery system.

Hybrid system specifications include:

• Engine: 1.6-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder.
• Engine output: 178 horsepower.
• Electric motor: 64 horsepower.
• Combined system output: 231 horsepower.
• Combined torque: 271 lb-ft.
• Transmission: 6-speed automatic transmission.

This setup delivers noticeably more power than the standard gasoline Tucson while maintaining smooth and efficient operation.

Battery and Electric System

The hybrid system uses a compact lithium-ion battery pack that stores energy recovered during braking.

Battery specifications include:

• Battery capacity: about 1.49 kWh.
• Voltage: approximately 270 volts.

The system automatically switches between electric power, gasoline power, or a combination of both depending on driving conditions, with most low-speed driving benefiting from electric assistance.

Performance

The Tucson Hybrid offers better performance than the standard gasoline model due to the added torque from the electric motor.

Typical performance estimates include:

• 0–60 mph in roughly 7 to 8 seconds.
• Top speed estimated around 115 to 120 mph.

The electric motor provides immediate torque, which improves acceleration from a stop and enhances overall drivability in city traffic.

Fuel Economy

Fuel efficiency is one of the Tucson Hybrid’s biggest strengths.

Typical estimates include:

• Up to about 38 mpg city.
• About 38 mpg highway.
• Around 36–38 mpg combined depending on trim.

This makes it significantly more efficient than the gasoline Tucson, especially in stop-and-go driving conditions.

Real-World Impressions

Some real-world feedback from owners highlights how the hybrid system performs in daily use.

From online discussions:

“It switches between gas and hybrid without even noticing.”

Drivers often mention smooth transitions between electric and gasoline power and noticeable fuel savings compared to non-hybrid SUVs.

Interior and Passenger Space

The Tucson Hybrid shares its interior design with the standard Tucson, offering a modern and comfortable cabin.

Interior highlights include:

• Seating for five passengers.
• Available leather upholstery.
• Heated and ventilated front seats on higher trims.
• Dual-zone climate control.

Rear seat space is generous for a compact SUV, making it comfortable for adults on longer trips.

Cargo Capacity

Cargo space remains one of the Tucson Hybrid’s strengths.

Typical cargo capacity includes:

• Around 38 cubic feet behind the rear seats.
• Up to about 74 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

The wide rear opening and flat cargo floor make loading large items easy.

Technology and Infotainment

The Tucson Hybrid features a modern digital dashboard with a strong focus on connectivity.

Common technology features include:

• Large touchscreen infotainment system.
• Digital instrument cluster.
• Wireless smartphone integration.
• Multiple USB ports.
• Available premium sound system.

Higher trims may include navigation, wireless charging, and advanced driver-assist displays.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Hyundai includes a wide range of safety technologies in the Tucson Hybrid.

Typical systems include:

• Forward collision avoidance assist.
• Blind-spot monitoring.
• Lane-keeping assist.
• Adaptive cruise control.
• Rear cross-traffic alert.

These systems help improve driver awareness and reduce the likelihood of accidents.

Dimensions

The Tucson Hybrid maintains compact SUV proportions while offering strong interior space.

Approximate dimensions include:

• Length: about 182.7 inches.
• Width: about 73.4 inches.
• Height: about 66 inches.

These dimensions make it easy to maneuver in urban environments while still providing a roomy cabin.

Trim Levels

The 2026 Tucson Hybrid is available in multiple trims with increasing levels of equipment.

Typical trims include:

• Blue.
• SEL Convenience.
• N Line.
• Limited.

Higher trims add features such as larger wheels, upgraded interior materials, and advanced driver-assistance technologies.

Pricing

Estimated pricing for the 2026 Tucson Hybrid includes:

• Starting around $34,000 for base models.
• Mid-range trims in the mid to high $30,000 range.
• Around $43,000 or more for fully loaded models.

Pricing varies depending on trim level, drivetrain, and optional features.

Overall

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a well-balanced compact SUV that delivers a strong mix of efficiency, performance, and practicality. Its hybrid system provides better fuel economy and more power than the standard gasoline model, while maintaining a comfortable ride and spacious interior.

I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra 2013 two weeks back. After one week, the navigation system voice stopped working and it does not detect my phone too via bluetooth. There is also some burning smell I get when I drive. I paid almost $30,000 for this car with the high rate of interest and it is a brand new car, which I purchased from the dealership. I feel cheated and hurt as it has been heavy on my pocket and I am not satisfied with the car. I would want it to be replaced with a new good model as I did not pay so much money for a faulty car with parts which were not pretested. The navigation system not working in barely 2 weeks is a big surprise to me. As a customer, I feel the service has been pathetic and I would not recommend Hyundai to my friends and anyone else.

Recently I relocated to Florida. I faxed a request for my title to be sent to the Florida tag agency on July 23. I called Hyundai on July 29 to check on the status. I was told to call back in a week as they were behind. I called back on August 5 and was told they have no receipt of my request. I verified the fax number and again faxed. On August 18 I checked to see if my request was being processed. I was told they were behind and only processing requests from august 1st. Currently I am not able to get Florida plates, I am paying insurance in two states. Customer service at HYUNDAI is poor at best. They need to have an undercover boss check out what the employees are doing. If I worked at that rate my boss would fire me. I am sure that HYUNDAI would find me quickly if I missed a payment. Due to this I would rate them low and will never purchase/lease from them again. My husband drives a Mercedes and my son a Toyota. They both received their titles within a week.

I bought four units of Hyundai Starex at my country, Malaysia. My Hyundai Starex MPVs were registered under Malaysia numbers. I bought the first two units in 2009, another unit in 2010 and another unit in 2011. Now, the first unit, that has 178,000 miles, encountered some problems. Whenever I made a turn, the vehicle is moving and it is becoming dangerous. I also have problems with the aircon compressor. My question is, are these two items still under warranty?Malaysia Hyundais slogan is very attractive: Warranty under 3 years or 300,000 miles. But when I made a claim, they said, sorry, there is no warranty for your vehicle. What? No claim? My vehicle has never been in an accident before. Apparently, your slogan is only meant to cheat us. I am very disappointed with Hyundai Malaysia.

Back in February, we traded our 2011 Hyundai for a 2012 Hyundai. We couldnt stop the final payment before it was sent and were told not to worry because they would just turn around and refund it.” A dozen calls and 37 days later, we finally received our refund. Then, our dealership messed up the paperwork for the refund of our extended warranty and it was sent to Hyundai Motor Finance. Now, three weeks later, we are still fighting to get that money returned to us. To top it off, because the credit for the car payment sat in the account so long and they didnt close the account because of the credit, they charged us account fees which they are now calling me at my office to collect. So they owe me $2000, which they dont seem to care about. But they are harassing me at work for $23.00, which I am told during every phone call is a mistake. We have the 2012 financed through them and have never been late. We even pay a little extra every month. In return, this is the treatment they give their customers. I have never seen such horrible service, apathy, lack of concern, and blatant disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with Hyundai Finance and will never deal with them again, even if this means this is the last Hyundai I ever purchase.

I own a 2012 Hyundai Accent. It never has attained 40 MPG as advertised and stated on my car window sticker when purchased. A Class Action lawsuit was filed and reported settled in Feb 2013 and I am awaiting results. My experience with Hyundai has been the worst experience of any car company, and I am 61 years old. They are rude and arrogant. I will never own another Hyundai or Kia product... Ever!

I made an earlier complaint about this. The air bag light stays on at all times in my 2009 Hyundai Accent. I took it in for service today and it was there all day. When I checked on it, I was told the tech could not figure out what was causing the light to stay on. According to the service writer, they will have to check it one component at a time. This sounds very expensive. I cant believe this has never occurred before and I am the first Hyundai owner to have this problem. Hyundai was touted as a safety-minded company, but this car is not worth pouring money into while I still have payments.

2011 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 L. - When stopped for a red light or just sitting at an idle (in gear or in neutral), the engine 1.8L vibrates so much that your body shakes while you are waiting for the green light. Vibration stops once the car is moving at normal speeds. I was told by the dealers service manager that Hyundai is aware of this problem, but few owners have experienced this problem and Hyundai may not fix this. Ive had this problem since I bought this car new off their lot. Its been 2 years now and I am very disappointed in the way Hyundai is doing nothing about my problem. I have continuously been bringing the car back to to the dealer asking the service people where I bought this car to please fix the problem. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do to fix it. At present, I have 40k miles. Please advise me.

I have to say I WAS a huge Hyundai supporter. In fact, I referred a family member and a friend to buy one of your cars as well. I say WAS because my 2011 Sonatas engine blew and the dealership (Jim Ellis Hyundai - Atlanta, GA) cannot tell me why. They actually said it would cost $400+ if I wanted to know exactly what happened. They denied me warranty service and told me a new engine would cost $6,800 for a TWO (2) year old car. This is unbelievable to me from a company that stands on its warranties on their cars. I am sure Hyundai is aware that an unhappy customer will reach 10-20 times more potential new customers than a happy customer. I am at this time an UNHAPPY customer.

My husband and I have tried for over 3 months now to get a COPY of our title sent to the WA DMV to register our car. We get tossed around to multiple agents, they make us verify our information multiple times, we get disconnect frequently, and worst of all NO ONE SEEMS TO EVER BE ABLE TO ANSWER BASIC QUESTIONS. We have been told multiple times that the copy of our title was sent to the DMV but every time we call, the DMV says they havent received it. We then call Hyundai who says were sorry someone told you that, we will send it out today THIS CYCLE KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF OVER AND OVER!!! We are at our wits end and are thinking about taking legal action. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!!!

This is my second winter with the Sonata. Whenever I put the heat or defroster on, I begin to choke and cough. There is something coming from the vents that is poisoning me. This also happens when the car is hot in the summer and I put the air conditioning on. Hyundai says it is my imagination. I think there is something in the duct work outgassing. Im about ready to go the CPSC. Other issues are the cheap tires, front cowling that is too low to part at most curbs and bumpers. BUT THE CHOKING IS GOING TO KILL ME. HYUNDAI ARE YOU OUT THERE???

My Hyundai Accent is less than two years old and has traveled only 14,000 kms. At my last service in May I advised the service center that a hole has appeared in my drivers side floor mat. I thought this was unusual due to the low kms and the fact that I mainly drive in bare feet not big boots. A claim was initiated and I was advised that it was denied as it was wear and tear. I could accept this if I had done a lot of kms in the vehicle however only 14,000 kms is not satisfactory. I have over the years owned a number of cars of various brands and travelled in excess of 200,000 kms in most with no similar problems. Is the construction of Hyundais so CHEAP AND NASTY that a carpet will wear out in such a short time. I had intended in keeping the vehicle but now think ILL REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A HYUNDAI.

For the price point of this vehicle I expected not to hear anything inside. But it seems as I go 40mph and above I hear air as if the window is cracked open. Hyundai says its road noise but I know the difference. Its a lot quieter in my wifes Juke than in the Palisade. I think the door is to light weight so air noise seeps through. Hopefully Hyundai will find a fix for this. Its probably the only reason so far I would not keep this vehicle.

This is not exactly what happened, but more like a what is about the Hyunda
This is not exactly what happened, but more like a what is about the Hyundai Elantra. I have just found this website when I decided to do some searching for Hyundai information, especially the Hyundai Elantras so-called automatic transmission. You see, in July 2010, I was desperately in need of some good transportation for myself and my family, and I decided to take a look at Hyundai. I am embarrassed to say that I bought two Elantras at the same time. Im even more embarrassed to admit that I traded a really nice Impala for them. OK, time to cut through the chase about the Elantra automatic. I have a very strong belief that Hyundai is under geared or lacks adequate gearing for the motors power band. Admittedly, Im no expert and unable to spew out technical jargon on the subject. But shortly after becoming an owner of my two Hyundais, I noticed that there was something very substandard about how these things shifted and accelerated. Ive begun reading other peoples reviews and I believe some of them are describing the very same condition, but maybe a little less technically aware of the actual problem. Its true that the vehicle will upshift during acceleration, putting the motor into a lugging state, if that is possible for a gasoline motor as it is for a diesel motor. Just to reiterate, Im not an expert on the subject but actually would love to hear someones expert opinion on the matter. Anyhow, these people are right such as Della of Omaha, NE - i.e. during normal acceleration. The vehicle shifts, then has very little power and begins to chug and vibrate so you have to punch the accelerator to go back down into the gear you just upshifted from. The condition is somewhat circumvented the more rapidly you accelerate, but soon you may find the RPMs back in that inadequate power range. I dont think this poses a problem for salespeople during a test drive because they know most people are going to punch the accelerator to see how it accelerates, meanwhile not noticing this annoying flaw. Now there is something in the drivers manual about manually downshifting for some situations and I think this can help some, but I think there is a tendency to forget to shift back into high gear. So to me, that makes it questionable about whether or not the vehicle is really automatic shifting, even though it is technically an automatic transmission. Ive heard people saying they went to the dealer experiencing this condition. Im not surprised theyre not acknowledging a problem with the vehicle. After all, they knew about it when they sold it to you. Without quoting right from the warranty, Im pretty sure it says something about vehicle performance that is characteristic to all the vehicles deems it to be normal. I would guess its a car companys right to sell you a crappy car, and the dealers too. It just proves people will do anything for a buck, even to whip out their Motor Trend magazine where it was their car of the year. So how did that happen, are they a creditable magazine? I just think they knew they were building a crappy car and they got people going around saying its great.

Comfort, outrageous. Noise from outside what noise. Looks beautiful. If you never seen the Genesis Emblem you would not know what kind of car this is. Kudos to Hyundai. Awesome car.

Hyundai wont credit a months lease payment even though my vehicle is in for engine repairs for over a month and the clock is still ticking. I leased a 2012 Genesis R-spec. Around 12,000 miles, I started hearing intermittent engine knocking. When I took the car in for service, a service specialist said there is no issue and any engine issues would be covered by a warranty. 5,000 miles later, the engine knocking was happening all the time above 2,500 RPM or under acceleration or driving up a hill. When I took the car in for service, the service specialist said yes, this engine knocking. Five weeks later, Im still without my Genesis. Apparently, Hyundai doesnt know how to maintain a parts supply chain very well. Besides the engine problem, there are other design problems with the car: seats with very poor support that become very noticeable on a long drive; too much play in the steering wheel which at high speeds can be a bit dangerous since there can be an abrupt jerk of the wheel; and a transmission that doesnt always know when to shift. As a previous owner of Mercedes, BMW and Lexus, I will surely think twice about owning a Hyundai again.

After 76,000 miles I experienced a catastrophic engine failure in my 2011 Sonata Turbo 2.0. The Hyundai service department that the car was towed to said they did not know why this happened. After considering the warranty, it was determined that the engine would be replaced. The second motor was installed and the first time it was cranked, it was determined that the engine failed. A third engine was then installed. At about 10,000 miles on the 3rd engine, the exact same catastrophic engine failure occurred. I learned that Hyundai had previously installed a re-manufactured motor (the third engine) instead of a new long block. I am now waiting to hear if the warranty is even going to cover the 4th engine replacement.I am researching information on Texas Lemon Law to see if this would qualify; my novice experience would say YES but I am horrified to read the other experiences on this website. I would like to think Hyundai is going to try and make this right for me, but I have my doubts. To say the least, I will never purchase another Hyundai. It is disappointing because up until now, I had enjoyed the way the car drove, handled, and how efficient the eco-boost was on fuel.

Engine fails to start: I leased my 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid on Sept. 2014 and it has been in the shop 12 times in last year and half. When trying to start, all console warnings beep, the interior and exterior lights flash off and on and the brake pedal goes up and down on its own. You cannot stop it and it continues until it drains the battery. I have complied with everything the service department have told me to do from jumping it and bringing it to them, having tow truck bring it in, turning off lights, radio, and a/c before turning it off but the problem continues and the service techs can find no problem. They provided a loaner twice but am now being told as it sits in shop this time that Hyundai will not pay any more for a loaner.I opened a case in Dec and was told if problem continued to call. I called again when problem occurred but was told I needed to open a new case. So here I go again. The manager offered the dealer I purchased it from will not return my call and the first case manager will not return my call and the service tech does not know what to do with it. Im at wits end. Windshield angle makes it hard to clean windshield and dashboard. I also wish there were added wide view rear view mirror, or side mirrors that would show blind spots. I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

Second week after purchase, the rpm needle dropped below 500 rpm a few times almost stalling the engine, then rough idle. I took it to the shop. Diagnostic said they found nothing. The 2nd time in was for abnormal rough idle, when in drive at a stop or when air con on. I had sales rep, finance mgr. and service mgr. involved with getting a resolve. I was told nothing was found. The third time, car was worse. I had sales rep and service mgr. both sit in the car to experience what I was talking about. The service mgr. took the car for a ride, came back and said, Yes, there is a problem (even a passenger can feel the vibration). But I was told by the service mgr. when picking up the car that Hyundai is aware of situation and that some Elantras out there would have rougher idle than others. This was characteristic of the car and that if they can find a solution for it later on down the road, I would be contacted. Does this make sense? Really?! I had the general mgr. (Mike **) at McCafferty Hyundai contact corp. yesterday, 4/26. I was told that they dont have an answer and if they find one, they will let me know. I was promised great service and the world, but have had frustration to the point of not sleeping. We purchased this car coming out of a used one so that we would not have any issues for a few years. If they are aware of this as Don ** (service mgr.) told me that Hyundai Corp. Service tech told him, why cant I get satisfaction? I feel like I got ripped off big time. We even purchased the extended warranty. All I get now is, Im sorry, there is nothing we can do at this time. My intelligence is undermined by saying to consider it part of the characteristics of the car. What kind of product are they putting out there? The greatest frustration of it all is that the rentals I had every time the car was in the shop were the same cars and none had this issue, and I even told them this. I just want my car fixed or find me one that does not have this issue. My first payment is coming up and I dont know what to do. Keep making payments on a car that malfunctions? I was told that they could probably trade me out of the car, but that now, its considered a used car. Is that crazy? I lose no matter what. Help me please!

I leased a car for 3 years. According to the sales person, he told me that the service on the car would be included during the lease period but that wasn’t the case. It seems that he just said those things to make a sell since he was being very pushy from the start. The worst part is that he never disclaimed that by the end of the lease, I would be charged $500 plus $170 for some minor scratches that can occur during a 3 year period. When I returned the vehicle they basically force you to keep making business with them by leasing or buying a new car and that’s the only way they can forgive that $500 fee. When I called to claim, they told me that the contract is not with the dealer but with the company; even though it was signed at the dealer. They also don’t accommodate payment arrangements. Before leasing a car with companies like this, do some research and find what is convenient for you. Instead of dealing with a seller who would say anything just to get his commission and take advantage of you, if you don’t have experience in the subject.

I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screaming from the rooftop how awful Hyundai has been in regard to this MAJOR recall. The engines was recalled in 2017. I had it check. ONE YEAR later it blew while I was driving it with kids in the car. The only way I could get urgency from anyone at Hyundai was to merge a call with corporate and the dealership together because neither could lie to me at that point.Today 6 weeks later I am attempting to get my claim reimbursement and I just noticed NO ONE contacted me to tell me that there was missing documentation. So I called the claim department. They informed me that not only do I have to submit a receipt for the towing I needed to show a bank statement. Additionally, the documents that the supervisor Kaitlynn told me I was missing was completely different than the documents that Guadalupe (my claim agent) listed on my claim site. So had I not called I would have submitted documents that I didnt need to submit prolonging the entire bunk process set in place. Now the dealership... I picked up my car and left a message on 9/29 asking for a return call. I called again today 10/9 because I had no return call. They listed a oil change sticker on my window for 8500 from the day I picked up my car. When I spoke to someone today they stated oh no. It needs to be 3750 miles and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? I just picked up the car. NO. Nor will I take it back for additional service. This is a disaster and will be the LAST Hyundai I buy. BUYER BEWARE. This is not a good brand that values customer service. This is a cluster of a company that is barely getting by.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon in March of 2011. It currently has 60,312 miles. Whenever the car needs to shift into 2nd gear, it jumps. I have been told that I need a new transmission. Being that I am not the first owner of this car, the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Being that the mileage is so low, I feel that the transmission should have not gone out so soon. This is my first purchase of a Hyundai. Ill never buy one again. Next time Ill stick with Subaru.

I was the 2nd owner of an Accent, it was one year old and after one year the front tires went bald, then the rims were totally oxidized. Now, 2 years later the window motors on two windows went totally bad and the dealership wants 400.00 for both. The customer service is horrible. My husband has leased an Elantra because his Hyundai Genesis turbo line broke and oil was spilling all over, dealership said it must have been something he hit. Would have felt it, dont you think? As soon as that lease is up, we are keeping the car just so we do not have to trade it in for another Hyundai, since we do not want to have to pay their fees. As soon as that goes through, we will sell it for a dozen apples. Never again, this company stinks. Buy American.

She could not give me an explanation as to why it says past due when the statement says otherwise. I ask to speak to a supervisor who of course was unavailable and was told I would receive a call back. Never happened. It has not been reported to my credit bureau negatively. I purchased my new Sonata Hybrid in April 2015. I want to complain about the front shroud or fairing. The clearance of the fairing to regular parking block is 0 inches. These are standard parking blocks, that a car has to pull up to in any parking space. My front fairing has now been severely damaged and is hanging off the car because the clearance does not match the standard height for a parking block. I want to know why I have this expensive repair because of poor design of the front end. If I repair the damage, the next block will, of course, rip the new one off too!!! Parking away from the block creates a safety hazard to me and other cars and drivers in a parking lot because of improper parking space allocations.Safe parking is part of safe operation of my vehicle, and I can be fined because of improper parking in a designated space. The tires are the original factory ones, so the profile should be Hyundais responsibility of design. I want to know what you (Hyundai) suggests to do to fix this design problem for now and the future of my expensive hybrid car???

So I have been leasing a car from Hyundai. I tried to trade it in to lease another. That was as entire fiasco (be careful if you lease from them, they charge you to bring it back at end of lease). So I just decided to buy out my lease and keep my current car. I called one dealership. They said payoff is $14845.63. I called another dealership. That one said payoff is $15845.63, so I called another one. They said payoff is $14845.63 and 728.01 for the paperwork. $728.01 for paperwork!!! No. I get $14845.63, send it to the lease payment center and they send me the title, I take that title to the BMV and I pay them the tax on the $14845.63, get a new registration and the title is put in my name and sent to my new lienholder. Why would I pay $728.01 for 2 pieces of paper? Just be careful dealing with this company and the dealerships. I did it one time and I will never do it again.

This happened at the dealership and car washes, as well as my home when I have tested it. My 2007 Tiburon is still under warranty. The air conditioning stopped working completely. I took it in for warranty repair and the Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie, MD to fix the a/c, saying instead that I had to pay over $200 just for them to determine what was wrong with it. They also accidentally admitted that many Hyundai a/cs malfunction because the condenser is situated in a bad spot. Poor design. The fragile and vulnerable condenser unit is placed too close to the front and too close to the road that the tiniest pebble can make a hole in it. This design flaw is peculiar to Hyundai cars and they know about it but refused to accept responsibility. To make matters worse, they still charge you over $200 just to check it out, knowing full well that they intend to tell you that the warranty does not cover it. So you are out the $200 for their so-called inspection, plus your a/c still doesnt work, plus it will cost you over $1100 to fix a tiny hole caused by poor design. So, warning, dont buy a Hyundai. They dont honor their warranty plus their cars seem to have peculiar design flaws and their dealerships seem to employ low quality, deceitful people.

Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai, Egypt, when I heard the sound of a little stone. It was moved by the tire, hitting the underneath of the car. Then when I went to a fuel station to refuel, some people told me that there was a continuous heavy gasoline discharge from the underneath of the car. Inspecting the gasoline source, I found it coming through a hole in the fuel tank caused by that little stone which had hit the underneath of the tank. Inspecting the hole, I found a linear crack intersecting with a circular hole. I had a technician dismounted the fuel tank, soldered it, and re-mounted it.Here, I want to express my deep astonishment for a hole to happen to a car fuel tank by a little stone hit, since a stone hit is a very likely thing to happen to a moving car and must logically be taken account for during the tank design. Being still subject to the possibility of the danger of solder failure, which is a very high dangerous matter, this was fuel explosive and fire hazard for my family if the problem was not detected and repaired.I am asking you to: 1. Search for the cause of such damage, so as not to happen again to other people. 2. To remount a new fuel tank for my car.

On Monday 3/7/16 my 2013 Hyundai Sonata accelerated on its own, jumped a curb and hit a tree. The airbag went off. The insurance company totaled the car on 3/16/16. The miles on this car was about 26,000. It was 7 a.m. and I was parking getting ready to put car in park and the car just accelerated on its own. The air bag caused a burn on my arm and I had to go to the doctor twice for the burn. I had on a fairly new Chicos top which was burned and hit the garbage. Because of the time and no one else in the parking lot no one else was involved, For this I am grateful. I have had to purchase a new car and of course is not a Hyundai. All of the cars I had looked at were either too expensive or a piece of junk. When I finally came across the Hyundai, I took it. It was the best-looking one and was also a reasonable price. I purchased it from a private seller because I needed a car because I was moving away from home soon. I like the cars accelerator and it can take off fast. On the other hand, the breaks are bad and need improvement. You have to pump the brakes hard for the car to fully stop. It also keeps having problems with the headlight that it keeps going out and the power steering is always going awry. It also used to have very good gas mileage, but now it seems to eat its own gas. Also, the seats are not very comfortable and the stereo system could be much better sounding in terms of sound quality. I am looking to sell this car one day and buy a better one.

I purchased my 2016 Tucson on 1/18/2016. For the first few weeks it was a dream. It did not take it long til my car would not back out of my garage even though it was in reverse. I finally got it to move backwards after being in reverse for 15 minutes. I called the service department and they told me to bring it in and let them check it out. I did as I was asked and they said they had put it on the computer and there were no problems found. They had a service rep. drive it and it shifted just fine.Fast forward to 2/4/2016, I was sitting at a traffic light and when the light turned green, I gave the car gas and it just sat there. I was stuck for about 20 minutes before it started moving forward. (The people behind me were not nice.) When it did move forward, it just crept. Then it lunged forward almost making me hit the car in front of me. I once again took my car into the dealership and they gave me a rental so they could once again “check out my problem.” Once again, they could not make my car duplicate what it did with me. They said they had not heard of this problem before.I am handicapped and not able to drive myself very often. In the next four months, the same problem appeared when 4 other people were driving my car. I had to make 2 trips to the doctor in New Orleans and prayed that we would not have any trouble. Too much to ask!! Had the same problems in New Orleans. I have over 5,000 miles on my car of which are about 3,000 mine. The rest were put on with the Service Department driving it. I left my car again on 7/14/2016. Today is 7/31/2016 and they still have my car. I told them I did not want it back until it was fixed. They gave me a rental car that I can hardly get out of due to my disability. I am to pick up a SUV tomorrow. Corporate called me and asked me to explain to them what was happening and I did. This was on 7/20/2016 and they told me they would get back in touch with me within 3-4 working days. I have not heard from them. I have to have to make notes each month and have no car. I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks. He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO TO KEEP THE CONTRACT THAT I WAS GIVEN AS WRITTEN, AND THE CAR.

My 87 year old Mother took her 2010 Hyundai Elantra to her local dealer who has always done her oil changes. She received a call from the service manager telling her the underside of her car was so severely rusted that repairs would be so expensive. He suggested she get rid of her car stating that it would be dangerous for her to drive it. Her car has 19,000 miles and is two months away from being paid off after a five year auto loan. The car had last been brought in for an oil change in December 2014. No one ever mentioned any concerns about rust only five months ago! So, apparently all of this rust happened in a period of four months! I went with her to pick the car up. We are scheduling a second opinion for this week. Something is just not right. Since I entered my review, I filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and with corporate Hyundai. As I had mentioned, I had already discussed this at my dealership Bronco Motors. The NHTSA called me and took more information from me, but otherwise, I didnt see any action. Natasha from Hyundai corporate and I played phone tag, but she never actually spoke to me. In spite of my leaving many messages, I got a letter from her essentially saying that because I hadnt contacted them, they werent going to do much. However, the service manager (Brandon) at Bronco Motors took a very active interest in my situation and followed up. This last week, he notified me that a new software patch had been released. He helped me set up an appointment for the update, and today I took it in and had the patch applied. Now, I need to see how this turns out over different driving scenarios, but my drive back and forth to work following the patch was spectacularly better. For the first time since I got the Tucson, the transmission functions like I would expect! Just yesterday, when it was very hot, the transmission acted up horribly. Today, even though it was still hot, the transmission performed perfectly. Like I said, Ill be a little skeptical until I see how it performs in a variety of situations, but for the first time, it didnt leave me feeling like it might let me down in the middle of an intersection! If your dealer hasnt reached out to you, give them a call and see if this newly released patch is for you.

Hyundai Buyer beware – Internal Processes & Systems are Broken with no way to resolve. I have a sizeable credit balance (>$1,000) on my car loan account after paying the loan off over 4 months ago with Hyundai Motor Finance (HMF) even after contacting both HMF and Hyundai Corporate US. Even after contacting and/or attempting to contact HMF over 50 times, I have no confidence this balance owed to me will be refunding any time soon. When calling HMF customer service directly, I either get a message that they are too busy at this time and informed to “please call back again at a later time,” or customer service tells me that this is a payment department issue and the only way to inquire about the issue is through email to their own internal department and to date, they have not received a response. This has been going on for months even after being told that the response time is typically 3-5 business days and that there is nothing more they can do than to continue to send the payment department additional emails to inquire on the status. I have been told that the credit balance refund should be an automated process to refund any credit balance to me and they do not understand why there is an issue. Then I tried to contact Hyundai Corporate US to see what they could do to help with the situation. I am told that since HMF is separate from Corporate and even though they are a related organization within their corporate structure, there is nothing they can do to help me even after I requested them to contact HMF on my behalf as I was willing to provide them with all my loan information – WOW. No one will step up to the plate to help with resolution. Times are tough with COVID-19 right now and I could certainly use the money, but one seems to care. Hence – buyer beware as Hyundai internal processes are broken, their customer service team members have little concern in helping to bring resolution to an ongoing issue or to go out of “normal” processes to help you resolve the situation. I find it amazing that HMF customer service cannot pick up the phone to contact another internal department (customer service claims that they do not have a phone number for the payment department) when their standard internal process is not working. I even contact the original selling dealer finance department manager to see if he could assist in any way, but while they said they would attempt, I have never received a response from them as to whether they had any success – so here I continue to wait for my money. Wish me luck with my ongoing attempts to resolve. Loyal customer Hyundai owner to date (as this was my 7th purchase of a Hyundai vehicle, currently own 3, but this may be my last),Tom K

There has been problems with the suspension on this 2007 Santa Fe since 2010 with very low mileage. It took 5 to 6 visits before the dealer would even admit a problem. Problems with tie rods, lower arm assembly, stabilizer links, lateral arms bilaterally with no resolution of clunking metal to metal sound from front of vehicle. Now that the car is out of warranty supposedly, the dealer conveniently finds the lower arm on the right needs replaced. Hyundai needs to admit to widespread suspension problems without dragging on until out of warranty. I still have 100,000 mile warranty with only 80,600 miles but supposedly, this is not a covered service even though it all started at 48,000 miles.

Was on our way home from a Holiday trip Jan 1,2020 when my Hyundai Santa Fe sport with 9,328 miles on it lost power outside of Athens Ga. Was fortunate to be able to be near a convenient store to pull into. Called Hyundai roadside service and they quickly sent a tow truck that took vehicle to nearby Hyundia in Athens. Also called a Uber to take us 3 senior ladies and our dog to the hotel near to dealership in Athens. Naturally since it was New Year’s Day the dealership was not open until the next day. Everything in response to incident was wonderful. Could have stayed in a nicer hotel, but choose one close to dealership. Got home to Florida a couple days later. I sent in the incident report with all the original receipts for the trip interruption reimbursement. Never heard back....called back end of Feb...said it was being worked on....just called back April 23, lady said nothing had been done with case since I called in Feb.? And she would have them (?) call me back. So moral of this story do not depend on getting any money back from Hyundia Trip reimbursement!

I recently took my car into Tuscaloosa Hyundai which is nearing the 60,000-mile original warranty and discovered that the new car warranties offered are limited. Did you know that the A/C system is only covered for one year? All of the systems in the car have different warranties so the 60,000-mile thing is just a scam. At 60,000 miles you are required to have certain services done for your so called million mile warranty to be valid and it is very costly. I assume that as you progress your mileage there will be more costly charges to continue your warranty. I just wanted to make the public aware that you are not getting a full bumper to bumper warranty. Whoever heard of a 1-year warranty on an A/C? On some systems, you have to pay for the parts while you are under warranty. This was never disclosed to me during my purchase of this vehicle. You can look the new car warranty up online and it says Limited new car warranty. I thought a warranty was a full warranty but this is not the case. My suggestion is buy a car with a real warranty, not a Hyundai.

Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Equus with 71 miles on odometer and Hyundai Motor America said I not entitled to 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as a second owner. Car purchased on Aug 1, 2015, and although manual provides for mandatory arbitration through Auto Line at BBB, I have been systematically denied an opportunity to argue my warranty rights. It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. My intention is to publish a series of editorials nationally and to pursue a criminal complaint with Brian Frosh, the Attorney General for Maryland.

I leased a 2011 Hyundai Genesis. The windshield was broken and I could not get a replacement windshield for seven weeks. I was told there was not a windshield in the USA ans it had to be sent here. During this time I was unable to drive the car. I had a rental covered under my ins. policy for one month but not after that. I made several phone calls and a 2 or 3 e-mails but everyone just kept putting the responsibilty off to someone else. My contact was with Circle Hyundai initially but then I tried to get some satisfaction with Corporate Hyundai but without any success.

2008 Hyundai Elantra - On May 8, 2013, I was driving 38-40 mph on damp road. I swerved to miss an animal and spun 270 degrees. I hit a tree on passenger side door, broke passenger window, moved forward, hit passenger quarter panel and then it went forward and hit front bumper directly center. Neither front nor side airbags deployed, brakes froze (ABS didnt work) and ESC didnt work (received ESC recall notice after accident). It totaled the car. Passenger received lacerations due to glass breakage. Driver and passenger received bumps, bruises, sore neck and body parts. This is a huge safety concern. What can be done about false safety advertising?

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

We shouldnt be having transmission problems with those miles on it. I visited the Larry H Miller Hyundai dealership on Aug 26, 2016. Through their website I applied for financing to purchase a used vehicle. Shortly afterwards I received a call from someone claiming to be in their finance department. This person told me I was approved for financing and rattled off a range of payment amounts. Now, at this point I had not told them what vehicle I wanted so there was no way they could tell me what my supposed payment was. I told him great, I will keep looking at your inventory and when I find something I will contact you.In the meantime I requested information regarding their financing offer. I made this request in writing via email 8 times, over the phone several times and through their chat system twice. And yet, after 10 days I couldnt get ANYONE with this dealership to even tell me the name of the company who wants to sell me a loan. I certainly never received the lawfully required WRITTEN finance offer with all the appropriate legal information as required by State and Federal Law.Finally, I made one more attempt to resolve this issue without going through all this. I contacted Larry H Miller Hyundai, explained I had an issue that I needed help with and I asked to speak to their Finance department head. Not only did they not let me speak to this person, they REFUSED to even tell me this persons name. All they would do is take down my email, which they already had for over a week. Now that I have to start a vehicle search over again, I am still going to suffer a financial penalty when I apply for financing from another dealer/bank. You only get so many credit bureau hits during a two year period and now I am going to be penalized with a higher interest rate because I will have another hit on my credit report. And of course I still dont have the vehicle I was trying to buy originally.

Now no one wants to take responsibility for the wrongdoing and $520.00 later and to top it off Im a suspect in this whole ordeal since the car was towed Sunday 2:33 am to our home and not towed to the dealer until Monday morning. So much for trust in services you pay for.Im canceling my service with them and make sure that I let people know how poorly I was treated and even accused of tampering with my own car. Really WTH, why would I try to fix something I have no idea how it works especially when the moron who charges my car wrong three times told us it was the alternator that was bad? The dealership pressure tested the cabin, replaced door seals, and checked door alignment. Finally, they removed the side view mirrors and determined the whistling sound is wind turbulence from the mirrors after a test drive. The dealership has been great but Hyundai refuses to acknowledge the issue. We opened a case with Hyundai but their case manager said there is no design flaws so there is nothing they can do. I purchased my 2013 Hyundai Elantra a few months ago with a remote car star
I purchased my 2013 Hyundai Elantra a few months ago with a remote car starter. I have had remote starters on my two previous vehicles. A remote car starter is a one-touch convenience which I depend upon specifically during the winter. The remote car starter was installed and when I picked up my new car, I was advised that in order to start the car with the remote, I must first press the lock button twice (lights will flash and horn will toot), and then press and hold the starter button. The remote is supposed to function within a range of 2500 feet. This is not a convenience. I have been able to start the car only a few times with the remote since then. Most times it does not start. If I am not close enough to the vehicle to see the lights flash or hear the horn toot, I have no idea whether it can actually be started. On occasion, I have even stood beside the car and tried to start it and nothing happens. This is absolutely ridiculous. I stopped by the dealership today and asked about having it removed. I was advised that it would cost me over $300 to have this done. Hyundai Canada has echoed this. I am furious. I want this starter removed and would have a simple one touch remote starter installed. This Hyundai remote starter is an expensive waste of my hard earned money. If I had known that this inconvenient type of remote starters was what they were installing, I would not have requested it.

I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happie
I purchased a 2013 Sonata in October of 2013 and could not have been happier with the car the first 18 months of ownership. However, in June of 2015, my cars hybrid alert came on when I put the car in park and the car locked up and would not turn back on again. I had to have it towed to Sacramento Hyundai where they kept it for the day, then gave it back saying nothing was wrong with it. Two days later it did this again and again, would not turn on. I had it towed to Roseville Hyundai because this was where the hybrid specialist worked. In the end, I ended up bringing my car to Roseville Hyundai (about 40 minutes from my house) a total of 4 times. Each time they fixed something on the car but the car was never actually fixed and would break down again 1-2 days after I got it back.During this whole time wasting process I was always put in awful stock rental cars after having to wait at numerous car rental shops after I was told by the dealership that there would be a rental waiting for me (there never was). I have had my car sitting at the dealership, untouched for over a week with no contact by the dealer while they decided (or corporate decided) what they wanted to do next. I was told time and time again that this was a one in a million occurrence, that these things NEVER happen with new Sonatas. After doing my own research on other new Hyundai owners experiences, I beg to differ. It seems like these things happen quite often with the newer Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai Motors eventually decided to stop allowing the dealership to spend any more money trying to fix my car (the dealership was not allowed to swap in a new transmission or engine). So they ended up just turning off the alerts - they didnt tell me they did this but it is quite obvious this is what happened since the car is running the exact same, power and acceleration issues, just no more hybrid alerts. Kinda suspicious. So once I got the car back this final time I began dealing with corporate which has been the worst experience I could have ever imagined. I talked to a live person probably a total of about 4-5 minutes throughout the whole lemon law process that began at the end of August.Leaving a message with Hyundai would result in a call back in 5-7 days. It took the representative over a week just to ASK the dealership for my repair records. And then a couple more weeks before she sent everything in to corporate while I was calling her constantly trying to get updates on the whole process, only to be ignored.. They have a certain number of days that they legally need to respond to lemon law cases and they definitely push this to the very last day. I figured driving a dangerous car that was now having issues getting onto freeways and accelerating from traffic lights would get them to respond to my concerns quicker, but they could have cared less. Once I finally received a letter. I was offered a buyback, not a replacement since this is not required by law.Hyundai only does exactly what is required of them by law (quite often they dont even go this far I have heard) so that they are able to pay as little as possible for the broken car that they sold you. This awful experience that I have been going through should require some sort of human response from the company instead of just 1 actual semi-informative voicemail from the representative (just saying that they would not be giving me a replacement vehicle) and ONE letter from corporate. This letter with the buyback deal had no actual numbers. It just stated that I would be charged some mileage fee for each mile I drove the car (that I had to research myself to figure out since no one from Hyundai actually talked to me). That they would not be reimbursing me for any money that I put into the car... So too bad you loved this car and did everything you could to keep it running properly and looking beautiful... And that I would be charged for any damage to the car. Then they asked me to sign and send it back to complete the process. How do I know what they consider damage and how much theyll charge for it? On top of that, all the extra money I put into the car would be ignored - tinted windows, 4 brand new tires I purchased just a week before all this went down, the $400 maintenance at 35K that Hyundai forces you to do so this warranty can be upheld, etc. On a more personal note Hyundai could care less about the time, energy, and work time lost in this whole process to drive the broken car back and forth to Roseville (when it was driveable) and all the time spent at rental car businesses... The mileage penalty being forced on me causes the $350/month payment to basically go towards borrowing this car for 2 years when I had wrongly assumed that I was in the process of purchasing the car and that my money was going somewhere, and now I am left with nothing. The buyback that Hyundai offered would not even cover my down payment I had made on the car, let alone the monthly payments for the past 2 years. In the end, I would love for this company to just fix my car or give me a car that actually works. My family and I have owned Hyundais for years and have loved the cars and always said nothing but good things about them. But this is our first new Hyundai and we have never had to deal with the actual company until I unfortunately purchased a lemon. The Hyundai corporation is horrid to deal with and does not care about the satisfaction of its loyal customers. I should have researched the reputation of this company before purchasing the car but naively I had faith in Americas Best Warranty to take care of me if anything should go wrong. Reading other peoples reviews on this company and how they have dealt with consumers and their warranty it seems as if this happens quite frequently. Hyundai will do everything in their power to get out of honoring their warranty and if state laws force them to do something, they will be sure to do as little as possible no matter what their loyal customer has gone through. This will definitely be the last Hyundai I ever waste my money on.

I bought the 2011 Hyundai Elantra in November 2016 with the goal of keeping it till death do us part. I have always had that approach with cars. Well, the Crown Hyundai in St. Pete Florida failed to disclose of a clicking engine noise. On top of that, they did not fix the mandatory recalls until after I told them! Additionally, there is the whole issue of the steering coupler with ALL Hyundais. They do not disclose, inform you, notify you (dealer or corporate) in any way of the steering coupler issue, but your alignment, tires, other parts will suffer and you will pay THOUSANDS! My 40,000 warranty tires blew on the highway after 25,000 miles only! Plus, the whole tire size issue. The only size tires that fit into the Elantra only last 35,000-40,000 miles tops. So, if you drive average, you will replace tires every 2 years -- more expenses for you! This car is a DISASTER, and the customer service at the corporate level is horrible. CHECK THE LAWSUITS. STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPANY.

VIN # **. We recently returned a leased 2016 Tucson, the lease was for 3 years. A letter from Hyundai, dated 13 June 2019, stated that we owed over $1100 on this Tucson. The main cause of this costs is apparently a very small, about a 1 inch “star” chip in the left headlight area. To most people the car looked almost new. I love the Remote Start feature that Hyundai Blue Link provides. I think its very overpriced. I also dont like that to get the Remote Start that I have to get the other packages which I dont use. It would be nice to just have the Remote Start feature. I also dont like that the max time for the vehicle to be started is only 10 minutes. It would be great for the customer to extend the timer beyond 10 minutes especially living in a cold climate state like I do. When the timer expires for the Remote Start, why dont you receive notification like you do when the vehicle is started. Also, I dont like it that it flashes the parking lights, they should give the option for the customer to turn off that feature or go to a solid parking light if so the customer chooses.I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and received the Remote Start package for a trial period. It was set up by the dealership. I didnt know why they needed my credit card information, I found out why. They auto billed my card after the trial period was over without notifying me. I asked why I wasnt notified and they didnt have an answer. I told them that I only wanted the Remote Start option and they said that I had to get the full package to get the Remote Start. Almost $300. I liked the Remote Start that much that I didnt cancel the service of which the Remote Start is the only thing I use.The next year, I purchased a 2016 Tuscon, same thing with the Elantra happened with the Tuscon. I called Blue Link and asked them to sync my two accounts, the agent told me she had done so. When I tried to start my 2015, the app prompted me to call Blue Link. They told me that the subscription on my Elantra was cancelled. I told them that I had another two months left before renewal, she verified that I was correct. I then asked her why was my service cancelled and she said she didnt know. She got a supervisor involved and he said the same thing.Granted, the 2015 is a Generation 1 vehicle and the 2016 is a Generation 2 vehicle which is two different departments. Why arent they combined, I dont know. I told them to turn on my service for the remaining two months that I have left on my subscription, they said they couldnt do that. They said I had to renew my yearly subscription. I asked them why because my service was not scheduled for renewal for two months and that it wasnt my fault that they screwed up. They said that their computers would not allow them to go in and turn on the service without the renewal of my yearly subscription. Being unsatisfied, I told them to renew my subscription which got prorated to the date that I purchased the vehicle. They told me that for my troubles that they would give me a discount on one of the packages one of my vehicles. They assured me that this mishap would not happen again.Which brings me to this years renewal, the so-called discount wasnt a discount, they extended one of the packages on one of my vehicles which knocked my packages out of sync, again. The sent me an E-mail stating that I would have to pay almost $20 a month for the next two months to aligned the packages. On the day that they were supposed to pull the money from my account, my Remote Start package was cancelled and when I called Blue Link, they said I had insufficient funds. Which I found ridiculous because I verified that I had several thousand dollars on that account. I even signed onto the Blue Link website to verify that the billing information was correct and it was. Besides, they had just taken out $297 from my account for my other vehicles renewal of which I wasnt notified. I asked them why I wasnt notified and again, they said that they didnt know and they were going to pass me onto their website department. They are currently investigating why I wasnt notified, I am not going to hold my breath for a response, lol. The agent asked what would it take for me to be a satisfied customer, I said, Free service, I knew that wouldnt fly. I asked her to turn on the service for the remainder of the two months I have left to sync my accounts, of course, just like the year prior, they said it couldnt be done and that I had to renew my yearly subscription. I didnt. I am so frustrated with Blue Link right now but I love their Remote Start feature. A few years ago, I tried to have Car Toys to put an aftermarket remote start system on my vehicle and they said that because the vehicle has a factory installed remote system on the vehicle that they couldnt do it. This was three years ago. I am going to revisit this option and see if it can be done. With the Remote Start feature I had on my other vehicle, it had way more features than Blue Link has and for cheaper. You figure with as much as they charge for the service that they would be one of the leaders in the game.I gave this review only 2 stars because I love the Remote Start otherwise it would be one star. I dont think Blue Link even cares about their customers, they know we have to use this service if we want it, especially being in a cold climate state. If they were smart, they would find a way to be able to modify the field to change the renewal date to maintain the subscribers they have right now. I will be looking for another car company where I can have more flexibility with this option. So it will be goodbye to Hyundai even though I like their vehicles. My Tucson was the 4th Hyundai I had purchased, yes, this is a deal breaker. If I can find a go around, I will. Thanks, Blue Link. Step up your game.

I filed a claim and they not only didnt pay the $200 but never even responded other than to say they needed more documentation (which I submitted). This service is not worth the energy to get a reimbursement! Additionally, my car was advertised as getting 30-39 MPG. I havent averaged over 21 MPG in the past year and I have only 8,000 miles on my car of which 70% are highway miles. I am extremely disappointed by the way Hyundai USA decided to handle my handsfree case. This issue was present since day 1 of us purchasing the vehicle in 2017. I spent a lot of my time at home and away from work troubleshooting and sending several audio recordings to the company and have been able to reproduce the issue with every single phone call, however the dealership kept the vehicle for several hours and returned it back stating we dont see a problem. I purchased a new phone, and switched 3 different carries, however the problem never went away. I am extremely saddened by Hyundais lack of ownership of the issue. The least Hyundai could do is try to replace the radio or the microphone to eliminate the issue, instead Hyundai decided to close the case. However, after this experience, I will be taking my business to a company that stands behind their customers. It is such a shame for the entire Hyundai team that they wont stand behind the customer and fix something that is still under warranty.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded. When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

My daughters 2012 Tuscon (ix35) has just been diagnosed as needing a new motor despite having been Hyundai serviced at every specified interval. Car has traveled only 101,000 kms or 60,000 miles. Reading all other reviews it seems Hyundai have the same game plan outside of Australia too. They refer you to customer care, a young person who claims no car knowledge and simply contacts the dealer to contact the customer and of course they dont and so the cycle continues until you get sick of their game. North Korea has the little rocket man, but South Korea has a secret weapon called Hyundai. No thanks to customer care in Sydney and no thanks to Blood Hyundai in Geelong,Victoria.Dealer promised my heartbroken daughter an email on how much it would cost to replace engine. We have heard nothing. It took me 1 call to a Hyundai wrecker- $4900 to supply & fit used motor and internet research found another owner same car same problem quoted $8 to 14k. 2 lessons learnt here, first dont get car serviced at dealerships and no more foreign made cars. I own 2 Ford Falcons, an 07 ute with over 300k drives like new and a US 63 Falcon with original engine and tranny 56 years old and still in use. Hyundai do not touch them. Its just a matter of time.

We purchased our 2006 Sante Fe from MJ Sullivan in New London, CT in June 2006. It has the 6 cyl engine with AWD. I just passed the 120,000-mile mark and this car is running like a champ. It is an everyday vehicle and we use it for all driving trips. I had to replace the tires at 95,000 miles because of a puncture in the sidewall (the tires still had about 1/3 the depth of a penny for tread), the brakes at 90,000 (the pads were making a slight scraping sound on the rotors) and the timing belt at 105,000 miles (my mechanic showed me the belt and said it would have lasted another 25,000 miles). We couldnt be more pleased with our car and Hyundai, and we are now purchasing a Hyundai Elantra Limited for my wife. We have never had any major problem with the car and have performed only routine maintenance for the past 6 1/2 years.

I lease cars every three years, so Ive had many cars throughout my lifetime
I lease cars every three years, so Ive had many cars throughout my lifetime. Ive never written a bad review about a car or car company until now. I just turned my 2014 Sonata in early (40,000 miles) and decided to pay off the lease/lose a lot of money because I was scared for my safety. My heating and cooling unit had to be replaced, the shifter had to be replaced because it was making my car stall, the wheel wells tore off because they were made out of cardboard, the clasps on the armrest broke because they were made of cheap plastic, and the back seat material pulled apart because they only sewed part of the seats. Then there was the recent recall for the engine and seat belts at the same time. The seat belts were installed incorrectly and the engine had an issue where it could stall spontaneously while driving. The quality control for this company is ridiculous. Then the last time I took my car in to be repaired I started getting messages and flyers, within a week, from Hyundai about the car I own (I didnt own the car) and how I should extend my warranty. This has led to random warranty companies calling about extending the warranty to now receiving multiple calls a day from credit card scammers. This never happened before I had my car repaired as Im very careful about who gets my number. Clearly my number was given out by Hyundai and now its in the wrong hands. I am beyond disgusted with this company.

The car is extremely quiet in the cabin because the gas engine turns off when approaching stops. All waiting at lights is done with practically no sound except the climate control system. After approximately 3000 miles, I began hearing a knocking, clunking sound during braking. It became worse and worse until you could count 5 to 8 knocks as you approached stops.During the 5,000 mile service, I reported this and the Hybrid Technician rode with me in the car and easily heard the noise. He correctly stated, the sound seems to be coming from the firewall behind the steering wheel. There was an identical 2016 Sonata Hybrid on the lot. Same options only a different color. We could not this car to make the noise. An appointment was scheduled to look at this. The brakes were bled and the technician admitted the problem was better but not resolved. Indeed, the sound was better for about 200 miles then the issue returned as before. Only worse. Another appointment was scheduled. This time the brake fluid was removed, something was filtered??? And fluid replaced and bled. This totally removed the issue for another 200 to 300 miles and then the noise slowly returned. Another appointment was scheduled. This time I was told to leave the car and loaner would be given to me. Instead, when I arrived, I was told I would only have to wait 30 min and then take the car. I was told the brakes had been adjusted and the car was safe. No change or resolution at all.I called Hyundai USA only to get an attitude from ** about why I would complain about such a small matter. The brakes were safe and I should expect a car with 10,000 miles to perform like the Silver Sonata Hybrid on the lot with less than 50 miles. Im not making this up. I asked ** to connect me to her boss. She refused saying, Id have to talk to her. I said I wanted to speak to her boss. She replied, He was in a meeting. I asked her to leave him a message and call me back. That was weeks ago. NO CALL BACK. At this point, I began pulling out the Lemon Law booklet and left a few pissed off messages to the service manager in Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham. This prompted a return call stating that in the previous visit nothing had been done to the car but a regional parts and service manager was in town and wanted to ride in the car.So I went back for a 4th time. Four of us climbed into the car. ** The technician, ** (Hyundais regional manager), ** (Sport Durst service manager), and I drove. It was not difficult to create the sound by feathering the brake pedal. The real noise, however, happens when the car is in start and stop driving. When its hot. They had a remote part microphone, when was turned on indicating the noise was coming from the Hydraulic Brake Actuator.Okay. The part makes this noise. For the first 3,000 miles I never heard the noise and you still cant hear it in the new Silver Sonata Hybrid which was on the lot. My response was, I dont care what kind of noise a part makes in the engine compartment, I dont want to hear this in the cabin every time I put on the brakes. The regional service manager then stated that for CUSTOMER SATISFACTION the part would be replaced. The part could have been replaced 6 weeks earlier when I brought it in, but Hyundai in California refused to authorize this replacement.Ive never owned a car even from the 70s and 80s that made such a noise when applying the brakes. This condition is beyond unacceptable. So today, I get the new part. Im almost certain that within the next 3000 to 4000 miles the noise will return as before. Im also confident that hundreds of 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owners in the next 6 months are going to be bringing in their cars with brake noise complaints. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to remove and replace this actuators.

He took a ride with me to hear the noise he heard it but dont know what its from. Recently the bolt that goes thru the lid broke. They fix it but the noise continue. I brought it back they told me come back another time theyre busy now. The driveshaft fall off they dont wanna fix it and tell me warranty decline my claim because I been abusing the car. Mind you my car is still under warranty.

WHY I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER HYUNDAI / KIA. (With sincere apologies to anyo
WHY I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER HYUNDAI / KIA. (With sincere apologies to anyone I ever influenced into purchasing one). The primary reason I will never own another Hyundai or Kia, or recommend anyone else ever own one, is that they, in spite of their supposed great quality, are inferior products!! Please understand that I do NOT consider this the fault of the dealerships or dealership service departments with whom I have interacted; they have all been very professional, competent, and friendly. This comes down to the fact that the basic cars are junk from the factory and overall quality of the manufacturing is extremely deficient. To wit:I purchased my first Hyundai Sonata, a 2006 with a V-6 engine, in August 2006. It had ten miles on the odometer primarily because I took it for a 2 mile test drive before I bought it. I loved the ride, handling, and everything about the car. When I bought the car, fortunately I negotiated a 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty as part of the purchase. In addition, I purchased the 5-year hard-simonizing that also treated the interior fabric. I was planning on driving the car for many years and have regularly maintained it with that in mind.I very carefully broke-in the engine according to the recommendations in the owners manual driving it at a certain rpm for so many miles, etc. It now has just over 117,000 miles. Much of my driving during that time has been highway driving. I have faithfully changed the oil and filters every 5,000 miles. I flushed the engine coolant as recommended as well as had the transmission serviced as recommended. Most of this has been performed by the local Hyundai dealership or by one in Dayton when the Richmond, IN dealer from whom I originally purchased the car went out of business. I have the receipts to prove my ongoing care of the car. Each time I had the car serviced, the dealer did a multi-point inspection of the vehicle and reported all known issues to me. For the first year or so, I was very happy with the car, and recommended Hyundais to others. (As noted, for that I now apologize to them.)Following are the primary issues that I have had with my 2006 Hyundai: 20,500 miles, 11 months after purchase, left front door armrest had to be replaced because the first one cracked, making a popping noise (warranty replacement). 25,500 miles, 1 year 2 months after purchase, noted that A/C system does not seem to be putting out cold air properly, an ongoing problem that has never been resolved to my satisfaction. Dealer continues to claim that system checks out properly; air in this Sonata is not as cool or does not cool as quickly as the second Sonata described below. 25,500 miles, left front door trim backing must be replaced because it is cracked which continued to cause the popping noise described above (warranty replacement). 33,700 miles, 1 year 10 months after purchase, I complained that at times the drivers side window had a scraping noise as it went up and down. (No resolution at this time.)55,400 miles, 3+ years after purchase, both drivers side front seat switch and power mirror switch were inoperable and had to be replaced. (warranty replacement). 61,600 miles, 4 years 1 month after purchase, coil assembly on engine cylinder 1 had to be replaced (warranty replacement). 63,900 miles, 4 years 2 months after purchase, coil assembly on engine cylinders 3 and 5 had to be replaced (warranty replacement). 78,000 miles, 5 years 4 months after purchase, power steering system dampner fell apart and had to be completely replaced (warranty replacement). 82,500 miles, 5 years 8 months after purchase, A/C compressor had to be replaced. In addition, the drivers side window (complained about earlier but not repaired at that time) RF regulator had to be replaced because now not only was there a scraping noise when the window was lowered but also the window would not come back up without help. It was also determined that my headlights were noticeably dimming because the positive cable assembly needed to be replaced but that was expensive and would not be covered under warranty since it was not broken or had not caused the lights to stop working. (Warranty replacement on A/C compressor and window RF regulator; headlights continue to this day to dim noticeably when engine slows down).87,000 miles, 6 years after purchase, replaced drivers side rear door latch and actuator assembly because auto door lock stopped working (warranty replacement). 101,000 miles, 7 years after purchase, and just beyond the warranty period, the alternator had to be replaced (out of pocket expense). Headlights still dim noticeably when the engine slows down.116,500 miles, the engine temperature and interior heater started acting up in a strange way. At first I thought it was a failed engine thermostat which is kind of how it was acting. So I replaced the thermostat. (Even the dealer mechanic later agreed that is the first thing he would have replaced.) In removing the housing that contained the thermostat, one of the three bolts broke off completely just as I was beginning to put torque on the head. This is supposedly a grade-8 bolt. I doubt it! I have never had a thermostat cover bolt break off in over 50 years of driving and working on cars and I have changed a few thermostats in that time. So what should have been a 30 minute job took half-a-day to remove the broken bolt which then required removing more of the hoses than would have otherwise been needed in order to access the broken bolt. Thank goodness it broke off such that I was able to remove it with vice-grips and thus did not have to drill it out to use an EZ-Out, which would have required a lot more time.117,000 miles, the Hyundai is now at the dealer. The dealer mechanic found the reason why the heating system on my Hyundai with the V-6 engine with only 117,000 miles was acting strangely. It had two warped heads. The dealer has no explanation for the problem. The engine had to be replaced. I was unable to purchase a re-manufactured engine, much less a new engine, because Hyundai stopped manufacturing or stocking needed replacement engine parts over a year ago, thus the necessary parts to properly re-manufacture an engine, much less purchase a new engine, are no longer available. Therefore the only solutions were to replace the heads and hope that the current engine block was not damaged, or install a used engine from a salvage yard. The local Hyundai dealer (Wetzel Hyundai in Richmond, IN) has just finished installing a used engine with 78,000 miles on it, 1 year, 12,000 mile warranty. Out of pocket cost - $4,300 with a $200 coupon or it would have been $4500. If you wish to consider the above repairs routine maintenance that is your choice. I do not. I consider it poor manufacturing quality for which I never plan to own another Hyundai or Kia. If you are not convinced by the above related experiences, read on.During the first year of ownership, I loved everything about my 2006 Hyundai Sonata, so much so that I made the mistake of buying a 2007 Sonata for my wife, to replace the 1997 Plymouth Breeze with over 230,000 miles she was driving. I purchased the 2007 Sonata used. It had been owned by one of the salesmen at the dealership whose wife drove it from Richmond to Indianapolis and back each work day. She got pregnant and wanted an SUV by the time the baby arrived, so the salesman was selling the car as part of a trade-in with the dealer for whom he worked at the time. The 2007 has a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder engine; I purchased the car with 7,275 miles on it. While I did have it hard-simonized with the additional interior protection, I did not purchase an additional warranty I just went with the standard Hyundai warranty of 60,000 miles/7 year bumper-to-bumper and 100,000 miles/10 year power train. When it was still new, everything worked fine. It now has 84,560 miles on it. Just like the 2006 Sonata above, I have had one dealer or the other perform all of the recommended maintenance on the vehicle on a timely basis. I have all of the maintenance invoices to prove it for both cars. In addition, I washed them, or had them washed, somewhat regularly. I took them through the car wash on a regular basis, particularly in the winter after a snowstorm, and always added the underbody wash as well, to wash off the road salt to some degree.Below is a listing of all the things that have gone wrong with that car one continuous stream of ridiculous failures after another due to poor manufacturing quality:24,500 miles, 2 years 2 months after purchase, power seat control switch had to be replaced because of a short in the switch (warranty replacement). 24,500 miles, 2 years 2 months after purchase the rear brake caliper on the passenger side seized, causing me to have to replace the caliper and rotor as well as brake pads on that wheel. No warranty considered normal wear and tear. 29,000 miles, 2 years 6 months after purchase, mirror switch had to be replaced because short in switch caused both mirrors to adjust intermittently (warranty replacement). 35,000 miles, 3 years after purchase, en route to North Carolina in August, the A/C stopped working. A/C compressor totally locked up and had to be replaced (Johnson Hyundai of Cary, NC treated us very well) (warranty replacement).46,600 miles, 4 years after purchase, mirror switch had to be replaced again because of a short in the switch causing the powered mirrors to be totally inoperable (warranty replacement). 68,000 miles, 5 years after purchase, door hanger handle on front passenger side broke off and had to be replaced. (Parts - $30, self-replaced). 70,700 miles, 6 years 4 months after purchase, engine oil pan rusted out and had to be replaced. This was not under warranty; considered to be routine maintenance. (In over 50 years of driving including several cars for over 200,000 miles, I have never, ever had to replace an engine oil pan before.)73,800 miles, 6 years 7 months after purchase, the transmission pan rusted out and had to be replaced. This was also not under warranty; considered to be routine maintenance. (Again I say, in over 50 years of driving, several cars for over 200,000 miles, I have never, ever had to replace a transmission oil pan before. Remember, too, that in winter I regularly run the cars through the car wash to include the underbody wash to get off the road salt and grime underneath the car.) I wrote to Hyundai corporate about the two pans rusting out; the only response I received was a email reply that essentially said, We are sorry you are unhappy with our product. In addition to the specific instances at certain dates and mileages noted above, there are other problems with the 2007 Sonata listed below for which I do not have a corresponding date or mileage but which are ongoing issues: Power mirrors continue to be problematic; no one seems to be able to fix them properly. Now out of warranty so are now essentially manual adjust set and do not touch! Seek function on the radio does not work on AM and only marginally on FM. A little annoying when traveling and attempting to find radio stations en route. Neither sun visor stays in place; currently being held up by bungee cords wrapped around the sun visors and the door hanger handles so that they do not inadvertently drop down into the drivers vision. Because of the embedded courtesy lights in the visors, dealer replacement for each one is in the hundreds of dollars. First the drivers side broke and then a few months later the passenger side malfunctioned. The powered door lock on the passengers side rear door works only intermittently not tied to weather or temperature or any such phenomenon. Half the time it works and the other half it does not. Recently, the drivers side front door has begun to act up on occasion and fails to lock. For over a year now, the cruise control set button typically requires that it be pushed several times before it will engage. I must assume that one of these days it will stop working and I will no longer have cruise control without another expensive replacement/repair.Recently, when replacing the front brake pads and rotors, one of the bolts holding the bracket that holds the caliper in position was extremely difficult to remove. It turns out the bolt was somewhat cross-threaded. Since these rotors had never been replaced until now, it means that the bolt was cross-threaded at the factory during initial installation. My guess is that I will have to soon replace the caliper on that side as it did not easily compress during the repair. I simply do not have the extra money or time needed to fix the ongoing problems, so my wife (especially) will just have to put up with the inconveniences for who knows how long.Brakes: I have had to replace brake pads, and rotors on occasion, much more frequently than I think should be the case. However, I blame that more on our intrusive government controlling our lives in order to protect us from ourselves than on Hyundai. Under the old system of asbestos brake pads, I routinely got 60,000 miles or more out of a set of brake pads (as well as a set of tires). With the Sonatas, I am lucky to get 40,000 miles usually more like 30,000 miles out of a set of brake pads. The only complaint I have with respect to Hyundai is that rotors, when needed to be replaced which also seems to be more frequent than should be the case seem to cost twice as much (from one of the local auto parts stores) than rotors for other brands of automobiles with some notable exceptions. Also, of late, I have begun to have additional incidences of the brake caliper pistons beginning to stick and freeze up meaning I will soon be replacing brake caliper assemblies.I will tell you that I emailed this letter to Hyundai Customer Care and told them that I would give them a week to respond before I sent it to everyone on my email lists and published it as widely as possible over the internet. Customer care did call me a few days later. All they could offer was a case number that indicated that this would be routed to the appropriate offices for consideration on future models. They offered no assistance regarding any of my issues with my Hyundais nor was there any hint of doing so in the future. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they wasted my time and theirs with a phone call. Basically they called to inform me of the case number which is useless since they have no intention of doing anything. The lady who called me obviously had no authority or power to do anything. When I suggested that she put me through to the President of the company, she told me that there was no phone number for the corporate office although I was welcome to contact them by mail. According to her, not even Hyundai Customer Service has a number for the corporate offices in California. A couple of weeks later, another Customer Care Representative, Brian, called me. Again, it was a waste of both of our times. He did offer to send me some discount coupons for the needed repairs on the 2007 sun visors. I guess since that did not satisfy me and I plan to broadcast this letter as far and wide as possible, I never received any discount coupons.Once again, (as stated above with respect to the oil and transmission pans on the 2007 Hyundai) their primary response was, I am sorry you are unhappy with our product. In essence, their response is, We really dont care about our customers, we just try to make them think we do! They evidently have learned what P.T. Barnum proclaimed many years ago, There is a sucker born every minute. What he was saying is that companies like Hyundai dont need to care about customers like me because there are plenty more where I came from. I just hope you are not one of them like I was. My bottom line is DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!!! THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCT, LIKE THEIR CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE, IS PATHETIC AT BEST AND ESSENTIALLY NON-EXISTENT. LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!Please feel free to forward this to anyone and everyone you know so they too can be forewarned before it is too late for them unless you are trying to get even with someone for what he or she did to you.

I leased my 2015 Sonata Sport in Feb of 2016. It had been a service loaner and had almost 5000 miles on it at delivery. After about six months in Aug of 2016 my car would not start and I had to call Hyundai Roadside to jump it. I brought it into the dealer the following week. They tested the battery, said nothing was wrong, and suggested I did something to cause the battery drain. Well, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Nov of 2016. This time they said the battery was bad and replaced it. Even after replacing the battery, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Jan of 2017. This time they blamed the problem on the Allstate insurance device I have plugged into the car and they said the battery was bad too. So they replaced the battery for the second time and I had the Allstate device replaced.I continued to have the same problems. I brought the car back to the dealer the following month and they said they could not replicate the issue and found nothing. It seems that my vehicle battery dies when I dont use the vehicle for a period of time – often 1.5 - 2 days, but it has died from sitting unused in as little as 22 hours. Since I continue to have this issue without any real help from the dealer, I contacted Hyundai consumer affairs in April of 2017 and they have been slow to take any action. I did not receive any actionable info from them until 2 weeks after I first called... They called the dealer I had been working with and the dealer told them they thought the issue was the insurance device (even though they found no problems the last time I had the vehicle there, with the device plugged in).So my Hyundai case manager told me they could not do anything until the insurance device was ruled out as a cause. I removed the device and purposefully did not drive the vehicle for a full day and surprise, the car was dead. So I called my case manager at Hyundai and told her what happened and that the device could be ruled out. Now she is checking to see if or when (her words) a Hyundai specialist can look at the car. Hopefully, it wont take another two weeks to find that out. It seems Im not the only person with this issue as a couple other reviews very recently indicate the same problem on the same year/make/model and with even the same time frame the problem began! I guess its time for me to find a lawyer too.

I wouldnt be writing this if I could have resolved my issue with the dealer
I wouldnt be writing this if I could have resolved my issue with the dealership or the district manager, but I have been given excuses that came with delaysand ultimately a denial to repair my engine after a complete failure with about 70,000 miles on the vehicle because they saw sludge in my engine. In the spring of 2010, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited. I am the original owner. I had been so pleased with my car that I actually convinced a friend and my sister to also buy a new Hyundai. After my engine failure on April 5, 2011, I had my Sonata towed to Glendora Hyundai in California. Today, I was informed that my repair has been denied because they found sludge in the engine. I did provide all my maintenance records but it seems that is not good enough to use my 100,000 mile warranty. It took the dealership 18 days to tell me that my repair has been denied. Of course during this time, I have been renting a car since I was also told that no loaner would be provided while they tried to resolve what to do. According to them, the decision was not to repair the car was also agreed to by the Hyundai district manager. So much for the 100,000 mile warranty that they keep touting. Dont believe it. It seems they might have covered it had all the maintenance been done at the dealership. My advice is dont buy a Hyundai. They wont honor the warranty if you have a problem.

Weve leased two new Hyundais in a row and 7 new Hondas leased prior to the Hyundais, with no issues. Going back to Honda or Toyota. The most recent Hyundai was a 2016 Tucson limited, the AC never worked properly from day one. Shortly after the AC came on cool air would cease. This issue is documented on the Cas Complaints website. We had 3 miserable summers in the Deep South with this lemon Tucson. Three different dealers noted the problem. One kept the car 3 days and agreed that the car had a serious AC problem, but all said unless the diagnostic computer gave an error code there is no warranty. The first Hyundai was 2016 Santa Fe, which had a well documented steering issue when highway driving. Again no Hyundai warranty help. Guess we were suckers for leasing the second Hyundai, but the warranty is utterly worthless. If you have a problem, youre screwed!

Grandson leased a 2013 Elantra while attending college. He was late with his Dec 2013 payment and called to let me know. I called Hyundai and told them I would make the payment. The representative advised me that the January 2014 would be coming due in a short time. I asked her if she could cancel the auto draw (that we had setup) and I would just go and make both payment (as the new semester was starting and there wold be books to buy) but I would only do this if she could guarantee that the account would not be double-billed. She assured me that she was taking care of that as we were speaking and that it would not happen. You can see where this is going. My grandson called me today and informed me that Hyundai had drawn another payment (for January 2014). When I called Hyundai they said that the girl I had talked to had obviously overstepped her bounds (???). I told them that if I knew they could not stop the payment draw, I would have just my the December payment and then transferred the January payment into his checking accounts. When I asked about getting the draw reversed, they said (ready for this) it would take a minimum of 15 DAYS. I told them never mind, just leave it for the February payment. I have already turned off their auto draw and will now subject them to snail mail once a month. When the lease runs out no more Hyundai.

2021 iconic does not support Apple phones even though they have Apple iplay icon in car. USB port does not work either. Although there is one in the car. Salespeople do not know this. Salesperson said my iPhone would work in the car. It does not. I sent an email to customer service. The form letter they sent back said they put what they feel the customer wants in the car. Really? Do you believe the customer doesn’t want to be able to use iPhones (really). And I mean any generation iPhone. I cannot use my phone GPS with Apple iplay or even my phone. Why would anyone not want to be able to use their iphone functions in a 2021 new car. No help or assistance from dealer or Hyundai. Will never buy a Hyundai again. They do not stand by their cars or even offer any type of resolution. Beware.

My daughter left Rehoboth Beach DE heading home to Philadelphia on June 24t
My daughter left Rehoboth Beach DE heading home to Philadelphia on June 24th when the engine on her Tucson gave out in the middle of the Delaware Turnpike. She had it towed to a dealer in Philly the next day. After a month at the dealership she was finally told that Hyundai USA had approved her warranty complaint and that they would be replacing the engine. We were told that it would be the middle to the end of September before it would be available... then October... then November. Today, November 14, 2018 I received an email that the engine wont be available until early January 2019! As someone else had said, I doubt seriously that the engine will be available then! This is ridiculous that they do not have replacement engines available. The engine has to come from Korea and they cite production delays as the problem. There is sure as hell new Hyundais coming every freakin day from Korea, so why isnt there replacement engines available? The 100,000 mile warranty is not worth the paper it is written on! It is a scam and I would caution everyone before you think about buying a Hyundai... DONT!

Purchased a 2011 Elantra with 8 miles and it just recently hit 70K miles. I have had no problems with the car at all. My driving is severe going up and down the California Grapevine on a weekly basis with no problems. Service at all 3 dealerships I have been to have always been great and as soon as the new redesigned Elantra comes out (maybe 2016 or 2017) I will be buying another one.I find it hilarious how many stupid people come on here complaining about their end of lease termination fee. Or even worse telling Hyundai that they deserve that fee be waived or for good customer service it should be waive. You people must really have a 2 digit I.Q. It doesnt matter if the leased car that you returned has only 10K miles on it or that you made every payment on time. You signed a legal contract saying that you will pay that fee! End of story! Stop the whining! If youre going to whine about something in your lease contract whine about it BEFORE you take delivery of your vehicle...if not shut the ** up!

Ive procured an IX35 approx. a month ago from the Hyundai branch in Umhlanga, Durban, before I took delivery, there was a number of issues with the vehicle. The salesman promised that all issues relating to damaged drivers seat, back tail light, no door clips, etc. will be attended to. We agreed in writing that they will be resolved within 3 days. This never materialized. My numerous attempts to the dealership was ignored. I am also awaiting the registration of the vehicle which is also currently not done. I am at my wits trying to explain myself to the Sales manager and the salesman. The recent recommendation from the Sales Manager in writing that I must return the vehicle. I am comfortable with this and I kept asking for the last week now, when the deposit of 90 thousand rands will be refunded and the vehicle returned. I now hear today from the Sales manager that he will attempt to resolve the issues. I am now extremely frustrated and require that this matter receives urgent attention.

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Limited in August 2017. Driving to work on the highway the panoramic glass roof exploded. Confused me so much because it was 6:45am, no one was around me, sunny day, no trucks in front of me or anything. (All this is provable as I have dash cam video of the front and rear of the car). Sounded like a shotgun. For starters, thankfully my 2 year old son and my wife were not in the car as the backseat was full of glass. I managed to not lose control of the vehicle and managed to exit the highway and pull into a gas station. I phoned roadside assistance and got towed to the dealer. While in the tow truck and still confused I began searching online if this was a known issue and lo and behold Hyundai is VERY well known for this and is #1 in exploding roofs here in Canada and the United States. After getting the vehicle to the dealer and getting home to wash glass out of my head, the next morning I receive a call from the manager at the dealer advising me that Hyundai Canada will NOT be fixing this under warranty even though the manager at Maple Hyundai acknowledged that he has seen articles pertaining to this happening to others in the past. The fact that I have dash cam footage means nothing also. Upon purchasing the vehicle I even purchased their fancy extended warranty. That also means nothing not that I even needed it because I am still technically under the 3 year whatever regular one. Hyundai Canada turned the warranty job down saying that it must have been cracked from before which I am not sure how they can make that type of assumption. First of all, as I said the front and rear cameras both show the exact same time and date just different views. You see from the rear camera a blast of glass fly. The front camera shows absolutely nothing fly at the vehicle. Secondly, tempered glass does not crack it explodes. Thirdly even if for whatever magical reason it was cracked from the night before, why would it wait until 29km (18 miles) into my drive to burst while driving on a smooth road. These vehicles are NOT SAFE and I urge any especially families to look at alternate manufacturers who actually care about the safety of their passengers.

I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the Liberty Hyundai dealership in New Hudson, MI and experienced engine problems about a year later. I took the car into the dealership and was told I would receive a loaner car when they got some in stock. After continuously calling for a few days, I was told they still didnt have any loaners. After a while they called and told me that I could not get a loaner because they needed authorization to tear down my engine. So basically the service department manager lied about giving me one in the first place. He then told me his rep authorized to tear down my engine to see what was the cause of it not running correctly and burning oil. They told me I had sludge in my engine and the oil was never changed even though I have receipts to prove the oil was changed. The manager then said the place I got it changed from really didnt change the oil and I would have to go back to them. He then said as a result, my warranty was void and it would cost me $4,200-$8,000 to replace my engine. This was not the only problem I had with this dealership. The service manager also told me there is a recall on my car. I asked if they fixed the problem for the recall and he said, “No, unless we have the engine fixed.” When I first bought the car, they told me about a tire warranty, which is also a waste of money! They told me how great it was, and that if anything goes wrong with any of my tires, the company that offers the insurance would come out change my tire and cover expenses. I learned firsthand that wasn’t true at all. I had a flat tire and called the insurance company. They told me I needed to take it in to a reputable tire place such as Belle Tire. I took it to Belle Tire and had to pay for a new tire. The insurance company told me they wouldn’t pay for the replacement, and I come to find out if they did, it would be as a reimbursement. I was only happy that the flat tire didn’t happen when I was driving or on the side of the road, because they wouldn’t have come out to my location immediately. I am absolutely displeased and angered by their service! It seemed as soon as I pulled into the service department for them to look at the car, they were not trying to help - they were telling me lies and saying anything just so they wouldnt have to fix it. Not only will I never buy from Hyundai again, I will tell those who ask me about getting a Hyundai that it is not worth the trouble. Lord forbid something goes wrong, and it will with their cars, because they will not fix it.

Hyundai prides itself in its reliability. I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata I purchased in March of 2010. I have had nothing but problems. Within the first year, my engine began overheating due to a faulty radiator fan. This was replaced under warranty. Less than a year later, my engine began overheating a 2nd time. The dealer refused to warranty because there were more than 10,000 miles put on the vehicle since the original fan was replaced . About three months later, the car would not start while sitting in a parking lot. This was related to a faulty brake sensor. Most recently, 6 months later, the vehicle would not start because of a failed starter requiring a tow truck. A 2011 vehicle should not have this many problems. I am extremely disappointed in Hyundai and am looking to sell it in the very near future. I travel for business, and need a reliable means of transportation. I urge possible consumers to use caution before purchasing a Hyundai vehicle.

Not only did our Sales guy sell us a car without the one feature we request
Not only did our Sales guy sell us a car without the one feature we requested (auto-start), but it is now in service for the 3rd time due to what feels like engine failure when accelerating. Last 2 times Hyundai of Paramus service department stated that since they could not duplicate the issue, that they considered the issue resolved. This time, they did a tear down and are telling me it is the automatic clutch. They said that we beat on the car and thats why. I am 40 years old, live in NJ (the land where traffic happens everywhere, every day) and most of the time my 2 small kids are with me. We thought this would be an economical choice, but it looks like we got a lemon. The service dept. District Manager Sean ** denied our claim for this repair to be covered under their amazing warranty, and told my husband to try and dispute the claim with Hyundai corporate. So, we called corporate, and they said that our only option is to contact the better business bureau. Dont do it to yourself. You dont need the aggravation. Take it from me... 5 days later and $400.00 poorer. Hyundai claim number**.

After having a 2016 Hyundai Veloster and having issues with oil consumption
After having a 2016 Hyundai Veloster and having issues with oil consumption we are being told that due to sludge in the motor and supposedly we are needing a new motor that warranty will not cover a replacement and we are expected to be out of pocket $9400. This is absolutely ridiculous and was told by Consumer Affairs that there was no number for corporate who made the final decision to decline our case. Very unprofessional and no way to do business! This is the true definition of loophole! The car is still under the 100,000 or 10 year warranty!! I will be pursuing other resources and what I have to do about this! The ball was dropped and Hyundai doesnt care. They found a way out of doing the warranty work!

I complained that the tail lights were repeatedly blowing. To fix the lights on one side, I was told water was leaking into the housing because the car had been hit. The sonata has never been hit. I was told the housing had melted from being burned on the other side. The Santa Fe, the clicker has never worked telling me they have to replace the horn.

In March, we had an engine issue with our 2015 Sonata that has less than 8000 miles... It started with the clicking sounds that we hear whenever we hit the accelerator. We brought it to a local dealer. They took 2 weeks to fix the issue. When I asked about if it was all fixed and all was good to go, the dealer said yes and that we shouldnt have any future issues with it. Within 4 days from picking up the fixed car, we start hearing the clicking sound again. We brought it back to the same local dealer to be fixed. Within 3 days of dropping off the car, we received a phone call from the regional manufacturer representative to ask about our vehicle and if the car was repaired. I let her know that we actually had to bring back the vehicle for the same issue just days before she called. She gave me her number and said that she would get back to me within 24 hours with an answer to whats going to happen next. I dont hear from her... Feeling frustrated, I call her to find out whats going on. Since she told me to get in touch with her rather than the dealer, I trusted her and only called her to find out whats going on. I never hear from her... In the meantime, my husband calls their Korean Customer service number to make the complains and only told to speak with the representative who is not returning our calls. She is the one who can make anything happen. WHAT??? We even tried to call different customer service numbers but we are told that she is the one we need to speak to and no one else. Finally after dropping the car off 3 weeks prior, we receive a call from the dealer that the engineer from manufacturer came out to inspect our car and that the entire engine needed to be taken apart to see what is wrong with it. It took 2 days for this engineer to inspect it but no real answers to what is the actual issue. I finally took time off from work to go to the dealer to inspect the car and everything under the hood is taken apart and they said that it will take days to put everything back and repair the issues. While at the dealer, we manage to speak with the Service Manager who said that the manufacturer went cheap way out the first time we brought the car out and they are very interested in our car because for a new car, it is having some engine issue that they cant pinpoint too. He also said that the representative advised him that she has been in contact with us so he doesnt need to call us.Feeling disappointed and frustrated with whats happening with our new car. We tried to get in touch with the regional representative. To this day, we havent been able to speak with her and the car is fixed but the engine makes a lot of noise for a new car especially compared to my dads car that has over 200,000 miles on it and we are just disappointed with our whole experience with this dealer and the manufacturer. We cant wait to return this car when its lease expires in 2 years. Never will I ever buy another Hyundai vehicle. There are reasons why people said never buy Hyundai. Shouldve listened to them.
