Hyundai Automobile Model 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is a high-performance electric crossover developed by Hyundai’s N performance division. It transforms the practical Ioniq 5 electric SUV into a track-capable performance vehicle with supercar-level acceleration, advanced handling technology, and aggressive styling. The Ioniq 5 N represents Hyundai’s attempt to prove that electric vehicles can deliver the excitement and driver engagement traditionally associated with gasoline-powered sports cars.

Overview

The Ioniq 5 N is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP electric platform and is designed to combine everyday usability with serious performance capability. While it retains the five-door hatchback body and spacious interior of the regular Ioniq 5, the N version receives extensive engineering upgrades including more powerful motors, larger brakes, reinforced suspension components, and advanced electronic performance systems.

Hyundai’s engineers developed the vehicle with both road driving and racetrack use in mind. This includes specialized performance software that adjusts throttle response, torque distribution, braking behavior, and suspension tuning depending on the selected driving mode.

Electric Powertrain and Performance

The 2026 Ioniq 5 N uses a powerful dual-motor electric drivetrain.

Key powertrain specifications include:

Dual electric motors with all-wheel drive.

Combined power output of about 601 horsepower in normal mode.

Up to about 641 horsepower using the temporary N Grin Boost feature.

Combined torque of about 568 lb-ft.

Battery capacity of approximately 84 kWh.

This dramatic increase in power compared with the standard Ioniq 5 transforms the vehicle into one of the most powerful electric SUVs in its class.

Acceleration and Top Speed

The Ioniq 5 N delivers extremely quick acceleration.

Typical performance figures include:

0–60 mph in roughly 3.0 seconds.

Quarter-mile acceleration around 11 seconds.

Top speed approximately 160 to 163 mph depending on configuration.

These numbers place the vehicle in performance territory usually reserved for high-end sports cars.

Battery and Driving Range

The vehicle uses a large lithium-ion battery designed for both performance and fast charging.

Key battery specifications include:

Battery capacity: about 84 kWh.

Estimated driving range: approximately 221 miles per charge.

Because the car is tuned for performance rather than efficiency, its range is lower than the standard Ioniq 5 models.

Charging Technology

The Ioniq 5 N uses Hyundai’s advanced high-voltage charging system.

Charging features include:

800-volt electrical architecture.

Peak DC fast-charging speeds around 238 kW.

Charging from about 10 percent to 80 percent in roughly 18 to 35 minutes depending on charger power.

This technology allows the vehicle to recharge quickly during long trips.

Performance Driving Technology

One of the defining aspects of the Ioniq 5 N is its extensive performance software and driving systems.

Notable features include:

N Grin Boost for short bursts of extra power.

N Drift Optimizer to help control drift behavior.

N e-Shift simulated gear changes that mimic a traditional transmission.

N Active Sound+ system that generates artificial engine sounds for a more engaging driving experience.

These features were developed to give electric performance cars a more emotional and interactive driving feel.

Suspension and Handling

The 2026 Ioniq 5 N receives significant upgrades to its chassis and suspension compared with the standard model.

Key handling improvements include:

Electronically controlled sport suspension.

Wider track and lower ride height.

Reinforced body structure.

High-performance tires mounted on 21-inch forged wheels.

Large performance brake system with ventilated discs.

These upgrades allow the vehicle to maintain stability and control during aggressive driving or track use.

Exterior Design

The Ioniq 5 N features a more aggressive design than the regular Ioniq 5.

Exterior styling elements include:

Wider fenders and larger air intakes.

Sport front bumper and rear diffuser.

Red accent trim along the body.

Large rear spoiler.

Unique N performance wheels.

These changes improve both aerodynamics and visual presence.

Interior and Cabin Features

Inside, the Ioniq 5 N blends performance styling with everyday practicality.

Interior highlights include:

N-branded sport seats designed for aggressive driving.

Performance steering wheel with drive-mode buttons.

Large digital instrument cluster and infotainment display.

Aluminum sport pedals.

Performance telemetry displays showing lap data and power output.

Despite its focus on performance, the vehicle still offers seating for five passengers and practical cargo space similar to the standard Ioniq 5.

Technology and Infotainment

The vehicle includes modern digital technology and connectivity features.

Common features include:

Large touchscreen infotainment system.

Digital instrument cluster.

Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Navigation system with real-time updates.

Premium audio system.

These technologies support both everyday driving and performance monitoring.

Dimensions and Weight

Approximate specifications for the 2026 Ioniq 5 N include:

Length: about 185 inches.

Wheelbase: about 118 inches.

Width: about 76 inches.

Height: about 62 inches.

Curb weight: roughly 4,800 pounds.

The relatively heavy weight is typical for high-performance electric vehicles due to large battery packs.

Pricing

Estimated starting pricing for the Ioniq 5 N is around:

Approximately $67,000 in the United States depending on options and equipment.

Actual pricing may vary by market and additional packages.

Overall

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N represents one of the most ambitious electric performance vehicles currently available. By combining extreme acceleration, advanced driving technology, and practical SUV functionality, Hyundai created a vehicle capable of competing with many high-performance sports cars while still functioning as a daily driver.

I bought Hyundai Starex end of the year 2008. On 06.07.2011, while driving engine, oil was leaking badly and stopped the vehicle and towed to Hyundai Service Center at No-1, Jalan Johor Jaya, Taman Perindustrian Plentong, Johore Bahru, 81750 (Mileage 145447). Because of warranty, they replaced new engine. Old engine no. ** New engine no. **. On 26.09.2011, I send the vehicle and complain: 1. Oil leaking at power steering area / Intercooler hose area.2. Noise at engine area on acceleration. (Turbo area). After checking, they said nothing and all in good condition. Some foreman refused after checking the engine, its not a new engine. Its a used engine, but Hyundai Service Center said its a new engine. If new engine, why this much problem?.On 11.04.2012 in the morning, when starting the engine, I saw white smoke. I drove the vehicle to Hyundai Service Center at same place. Service Center sent me the quotation (estimate repair charges): 1.Turbo charger assy - Rm 315.00 2. EGR valve - Rm180.00 3. Intercooler - Rm180.00 4. Cover assy-rocker and / Gasket - Rm 45.00 5. Repair oil leaking at timing area - Rm 45.00 6. TQ gasket rocker cover 224414a400 - Rm 58.95 7. TQ intercooler assy 281904a481 - Rm 1,077.30 8. TQ turbo assy 282004a480 -Rm 7,792.00 9. Tq egr valve assy 284104a470 - Rm 737.10 10. Gasket sealant - Rm 49.0011. Service tax - Rm 45.00Total charges - Rm 10,525.25. They asked me to pay myself the repair cost. I already made a complaint about leaking oil from engine and noisy turbo. After changing the new engine, they never take action on it. Why no warranty? Why I cant claim? Every time, Im having problem with this engine.

We needed roadside assistance since our car stop. The person sent was in a regular car and not under any towing service company. Very unprofessional. The person who gave us a jump start did it backward three times causing our car to set off an alarm and causing a surge charge to our car. Blew a fuse and the IMP box was fried. Now no one wants to take responsibility for the wrongdoing and $520.00 later and to top it off Im a suspect in this whole ordeal since the car was towed Sunday 2:33 am to our home and not towed to the dealer until Monday morning. So much for trust in services you pay for.Im canceling my service with them and make sure that I let people know how poorly I was treated and even accused of tampering with my own car. Really WTH, why would I try to fix something I have no idea how it works especially when the moron who charges my car wrong three times told us it was the alternator that was bad? My trust in Humans right now is not very a good one. Ill trust my dog better.

2021 iconic does not support Apple phones even though they have Apple iplay icon in car. USB port does not work either. Although there is one in the car. Salespeople do not know this. Salesperson said my iPhone would work in the car. It does not. I sent an email to customer service. The form letter they sent back said they put what they feel the customer wants in the car. Really? Do you believe the customer doesn’t want to be able to use iPhones (really). And I mean any generation iPhone. I cannot use my phone GPS with Apple iplay or even my phone. Why would anyone not want to be able to use their iphone functions in a 2021 new car. No help or assistance from dealer or Hyundai. Will never buy a Hyundai again. They do not stand by their cars or even offer any type of resolution. Beware.

My husband bought me the 2012 Hyundai Azera for my 50th birthday. Every year the battery dies. It is going on it 5th battery!! Last year I threw a fit over the same thing every year. They said it is because when I stop the car, forget to put it in park. This did not make any sense because of the fact it dies around the same time each year. They keep it for weeks without a loaner car!! I wrote Hyundai and told them my problem, they were complete no help. I had no problems with my last car. This car has been a complete nightmare. From the service department, all the way up to the Hyundai company. It is in the shop again for another battery!! I will never buy another Hyundai again. Just the worst customer service I have ever seen!!

I have got a used Hyundai Sonata 3 months ago. So wanted to register for BlueLink so found it was registered on a travel as the car was used to rental service. So called almost 25 times but the customer care always said two days one week but till now I have the same issue. My BlueLink is not registered. I got a reference number ** which I think is no use. If you all can’t do the service properly then better remove that app from the car. It’s waste to buy Hyundai when they cannot do what they have promised.

They repaired the throttle sensor on my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe on 06-27-12. I did not notice that the hood latch did not work after until I went to have my battery checked the first part of 08/2012. At that time, I called them about it. The man, who was my service tech, did not say much. I took it to my dealer the last of August to have some work done. They told me that it would cost $119.00 to repair it. I feel that West Broad Hyundai of Richmond should repair or pay my dealer for the work. The latch cover on the inside of the car had to be taken off in order to open the hood. You now have to pull the wire to open the hood.

Mon, 10-14-19 hybrid system failure. Roadside assistance arranged for vehicle hauled to nearest dealership...one where we purchased it 11 mo prior in Montgomery AL, the dealership is 45 min drive from our house...Hard to reach ppl via ph for info re our car--during one call, informed us only 2 certified hybrid techs, both unfortunately had fam emergencies this week, had to leave early-- one day told us the electric water pump being replaced, another day told didnt need one. On Fri 10-11-19 the service advisor called to say it was ready, that the code for water pump was old, they cleared as per techline instructions then a driver (never found out who drove it the 53 mi since i was told the name would be on receipt but it wasnt...it was not a service tech or advisor, just a driver) Did not feel comfortable picking it up since nothing was fixed & expressed such to the advisor but was assured it was ok. Gut saying this not sound right, called Hyundai customer service and explained situation. Was told the info being sent to a case mgr who would be in touch in a couple of business days. Well, on Mon 10-14-19 the hybrid system failed. This time on a busy highway in morning traffic, thankfully able to make it off road and into business parking lot despite losing power. This time because of the location where it broke down, roadside assistance (who finally answered call after 33 min on hold) ordered it sent it to another dealership, this one in Bham AL. Because the case mgr had not made contact yet, called customer service again and rep confirmed that was right, our car had to go to Bham because according to present location thats nearest dealership, if not we would be responsible for paying. While waiting over an hour for the tow vehicle, called ahead to the dealerships service dept hoping to arrange for a loaner vehicle since this location is pretty far from my home. Customer service said couldnt do it for me, had to wait for case mgr- who was scheduled to call me the next day between 1 and 3pm...how does that help me now? (I did not get loaner while mine was in shop 5 days the week before.) Man at dealership said that they couldnt guarantee would have a car available. Floored to hear that, so next called dealership in Montgomery and explained what going on. After all, I was just there on Friday. They arranged to send someone to drive me down there for a loaner. I am grateful they agreed to give me a car and young woman who came for us was sweet, but I was shocked when she got a call from the service dept telling her to hand her cell phone to the tow driver...he confirmed my suspicion that they told him to take car down there, not Bham as roadside had ordered. I made it clear that I was not able to pay for it to go anywhere else, that 2 different persons from Hyundai said it had to go to Bham. He agreed to do as originally instructed. 2 1/2 hrs after placed call to roadside, car headed to dealership in Bham, we on way to Montgomery for loaner. (Driver was accommodating and stopped at Wendys as we requested to grab lunch.) Sonata hybrid system failed at 9:25 a.m., we finally made it back home at 2pm. Case mgr called Mon at 4:30p.m. She expressed that she was glad vehicle went to current location instead of former. Said she has better working relationship with this one. At this point were hopeful that it was all for the best...boy was that wrong! Tuesday 10-15-19 just past noon the advisor called to say scanned for codes, got same one as previous service dept but here they consulted techline and concluded the low voltage was due to a light being left on in the car, so after driving 18 mi with no issues they felt could be picked up by us. Absolutely floored at that explanation--so different from what we got from other dealership-- expressed felt even more uncomfortable driving off again without any repair done, esp after what happened the last time. It has already experienced the hybrid system failure 3x while were driving down the road at this point. Same code, totally different answers. Was told would check on it again first thing next morning and see how it does. At lunchtime Wed 10-16-19 advisor calls back to say car seems fine but he needs more info, cant find service record from Montgomery in the system. Sounds strange but we are nervous about this dangerous problem and want to get to the root cause. Not want get caught stranded on road again, so we volunteer to send copy of our invoice via email. Advisor calls back just a short time later to say he consulted with advisor in Montgomery AND the case mgr who agree electric water pump needs to be replaced. (Wow, were amazed he was able to get them both on phone in that short amount of time. But then again he works there... As a customer, calling and getting straight thru to someone is very rare. Usually have to leave message and sometimes takes days to get call back.) He says will order new pump, it wont come in until mid afternoon following day and we will need to be worked in to the schedule. So dont expect it to be ready until Mon. at earliest. Wanting to be certain this is the root of the problem, asked if that was what techline had now told him to do in order to fix it or did he just go by what other advisor said? (The first advisor had told us that if car had ended up back there again, they wouldve put one on...so, they were ok letting us drive a car that they mustve known had a good chance of shutting off on us going down the road again, then they would fix it?? So, what was that explanation about it being an old code??) Well, he replied he did not personally talk to techline. Makes us wonder why he would go off the advice from a dealership he had expressed little respect for previously? And why the case mgr would, either, especially seeing that she expressed same feelings toward them?? But he said thats the plan and to make us feel more comfortable that 3 ppl would test drive it before give back to us: him (advisor),a technician and the service mgr, even said one of them could drive it home so could spend more time with the vehicle. Hmm.. Well, later that afternoon the case manager called confirming this dealership will replace elect water pump and said Montgomery service mgr apologized for not doing so. She confirmed the part was being ordered today. She said should not expect car completed until possibly midweek...which we were fine with that time frame, even though longer than advisor had said would take, if it was going to be what needed to fix the problem. Now is where things took a strange turn. Not expecting part in at Bham dealership until Thursday afternoon 10-17-19, ironically got call from Montgomery service dept stating the car is ready. Wait, what???? Totally confused, asked if our vehicle was back in Montgomery?? No, it was not. Next, asked why is someone in Montogomery calling to tell us instead of the staff in Bham?? Well, thats still up in air... as to who contacted whom first or why they needed to in first place...your guess is as good as any. Each accused other and at this point our confidence level in either is gone. It was a very unprofessional event to be caught in the middle of. I called two times trying to reach service manager for Bham, first time got his vm, left message but no reply. After waiting a while, 2nd time called someone else answered the phone when asked operator for him. That individual put the advisor on line. It is very odd that Bham service advisor said Montgomery shouldnt have called me yet because its NOT ready. This despite the fact that Montgomery sent a screenshot, via text message, of an email Bham service mgr sent telling Montgomery the vehicle is ready. Wow, just wow...so I address this with the advisor, who explains that even though the service manager signed off on it, he-the advisor- is not done yet. This is totally confusing, so immediately called case manager, but she not answer, left her a message. Next day, Friday 10- 18-19 after advisor calls stating now car looks to be sound, we express that events of the previous day made us uncomfortable and not ready to get it, want to wait until discuss with case mgr. He says take your time. Wanting to verify what exactly was done , by whom and when, we try to contact case mgr again , but again have to leave message. Trying to call a different # for assistance was no help, was told being transferred and after 8 min on hold was disconnected. Over the weekend we received several emails inviting us to rate our experiences with the dealerships and case manager. So we did give ratings of dealerships, but replied to email about case manager that would rate her when shes finished with our case. (Hoped that would get a call returned sooner...so much for that) Did not hear back from her until Wed a.m. 10-23-19. So disappointed that the info she shared contradicted that from previous conversations. We made request for car to be returned to us, not feel safe driving if cant keep stories straight as to how fixed. Here is what we take issue with. 1) Says the ser mgr in bham called one in Montgomery to find out what was wrong with car, this is off because when he finally called today, Wed 10-23-19, stated that he was not familiar with the vehicle, needed to be clued in. 2) Now being told the pump was ordered on Mon evening 10-14-19, (recall, thats the day before the advisor said we could pick it up because left light on and its fine now). 3) She says service mgr told her car was ready Saturday (remember the fiasco on Thursday the 17th, the email he sent replying the car is ready? Same day tried calling her but no response). So, who are we supposed to believe at this point??? She asks what we want from Hyundai? First time asked that was on first call way back on 14th, told her want car fixed correctly. Not convinced that happened. Techline was referenced several times but weve been told we cant be given any contact info for them so we can verify our car care was handled in most appropriate manner...we want any info techline got from either dealership and what info they related to them. Customer service says we can and should get a second opinion of not happy, but we have to pay for it. Our request is that they return our vehicle back to us, so we can do just that. We asked for it to be towed back, but they refused. We are not confident in the service provided at this point, would hate if mishandled and it ends up shutting down again on the road. Advisor says he confident enough to drive it back to us, but not enough employees avail for one to drive him back to dealership. Ser mgr says needs to think outside the box with our request...it would make other customers jealous if did for us and cant for them.... That was the last weve heard from anyone about it...That was on Wed 10-23-19 when told going to discuss with general mgr of dealership and get back with us... Reached out to general mgr of Montgomery dealership who replied to our online reviews, but he has not return our call either.

I purchased a Fluidic white car from Mody Hyundai (Malad W) in Mumbai, India. It was delivered to me on Sept. 7th, 2011. My car registration no. is **. I drove my car the 1st time on Sept. 10th when the car broke down at 3 in the morning. The gears refused to change. It would not change to any of the gears and the car stopped. I waited for 45 minutes on the road and finally I could drive my car. My car again broke down on Sept. 17th. This was the 2nd time I drove my car. The same problem persisted. The gears were not changing. I called the Hyundai guys and they insulted me when I went to their off in Malad West. They said that maybe I was changing the gears by pressing half clutch. My car broke down the 3rd time on Oct. 8th when I went to hotel Sea Princess. The valet guys said that the car refused to start. They pushed started the car and I got my car home. I finally called the toll free number for Hyundai on 25th. They took my car to their service station (Mody Hyundai) at Goregaon W. Even the Hyundai guys could not start my car. Nobody bothered to call me and update with the status of the car. I kept calling the Hyundai sales people. Finally, they called me on 11th and said that there was a problem with the starter motor, which they will replace. I kept telling them that there was a problem with the gear box but they did not listen. They, I again called on 12th. This time, they confirmed that there was a problem with the gears too and they would replace it. Hyundai got my car on 13th with a scratch on the front. This time, they blamed me saying that the scratch was on the car when I was driving. I refused to take my car and told them that I will accept it only if they remove the scratch. It has been a very embarrassing situation for me when my car broke down thrice in the middle of the night and once at a 5 star hotel. I requested the Hyundai guys to replace the car, as I had not even driven the car for 100 kms. and I faced so many problems. However, they refused saying that since it is under warranty, they will replace the parts and give my car back.Since I stay alone in Mumbai and work at night, it is very risky for me to drive a faulty car which breaks down every now and then. I request you to help me get my car replaced from the Hyundai people as this is bad customer service.

I have paid all of my car payments on time for the life of the loan and when I go to make my last and final payment I see that it says past due 30 days? Statement says due date Aug 19, 2018 so I go ahead and make a payment with the representative over the phone Aug 23, 2018. She could not give me an explanation as to why it says past due when the statement says otherwise. I ask to speak to a supervisor who of course was unavailable and was told I would receive a call back. Never happened. It has not been reported to my credit bureau negatively. I am in the middle of a home loan which will now be greatly affected. It would be nice for a call back to have this rectified.

Had a check engine light on a 09 sonata with 47k miles. Also noticed gas comes out of tank when filling up. Went to dealer for checkup and advised that this part is not under warranty. Also spoke to Hyundai 800 6315151 with no help. Checked youtube, seems like a common problem with Hyundai. Bill to fix is $700. I have a seat belt in the back middle that the strap is too short and it falls in the seat belt hole in the seat. Big and little hands can not get it out. I have to carry a plyers in my car to pull it out. I explained this to Ed service manager and he said the car functions fine. Jim Smith, said that this was unacceptable and would take care of it. The next day Jim Smith changed his story and told me I had to call the 1-800 and file a complaint. They did absolutely nothing to help me and said the same thing that Ed said. Shouldnt it be an embarrassment to a company when their customers need to carry a plyers in their car to pull the seat belt out? Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. This is my first Hyundai and my last.

When we first got our leases in 2016, we tried to set up auto withdrawal. My wife tried to set up auto pay and was told it was $30 a month. I told her she was wrong only to find out she wasnt. So my company chose to pay it. At the end of the lease we started to receive nasty messages saying we were behind on our payments. It turns out that Hyundai ceases auto withdrawal within two months of the lease end as standard procedure. Now that would be nice to know! So I had to make the payment and Western Union fee, who uses Western Union? No credit cards allowed. So I return the car to the dealer, but I still get bills in the mail. Call them again and they say I owe two payments. How can that be? I had already turned in the car! Turns out that the maturity date was the 18th and that was the date that I turned it in. OK so whats the problem? According to them the day that you turn in the car is the day before it matures and if you wait till the day that it matures, then you pay the next months payment! So its not a huge amount of money but Ill never use them again.

The Hyundai Entourage minivan has been a good, reliable vehicle. We have had only a couple of very minor repairs done to it in the 10 years that we have owned it. The Entourage has a very good amount of power. It is never sluggish off the starting line. It is also an attractive looking vehicle. The thing that I liked most about this van over the other we considered purchasing is the price. It was the most affordable of all that we considered purchasing. My least favorite feature on this van is the radio. Sometimes the volume control doesnt work. If I tap the dash, I can usually get it to adjust the volume. I am only sorry that Hyundai not longer makes the Entourage as I would definitely purchase another one.

I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission rep
Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission repair shop for service in mid-November (you dont go to a general surgeon if you need brain surgery). Shop states a shaft is bad and they need to order one. One is ordered from the local Hyundai dealer Mid State Hyundai in Berlin VT. Parts folks state that shaft is out of production. Production to resume on 2 December. We wait for 2 December to come. Part shows up, shaft does not fit, too big. Right part number on the box, wrong shaft. Transmission shop, Mid State and Hyundai in Korea go back and forth as to what happened.Based on the VIN, part should be correct. Pictures and drawings are sent back and forth; meanwhile, I still dont have a car. Finally determine wrong part was put in box and shipped. Now have to wait until 7 January for the right part. Neither Mid State nor Hyundai will do anything to rectify this. I have been without a car for over a month; I simply want a loaner. If Hyundai had not messed up the part, I would have had my car back on the 3rd or 4th of December. This is not customer service on the part of Hyundai or Mid State.

This is our 4th Hyundai, second Tucson. You have lost a customer. This 2017 limited Tucson turbo is terrible... the transmission is awful... hesitation, jerking. I have had it to the dealer several times to be told “nothing is wrong”. They tell me they are aware of the problem but until Hyundai does something to fix the issue their hands are tied. I’m sure there will eventually be a huge lawsuit and then... Hyundai will say bye-bye! So sad!

I purchased a new 2018 Hyundai Kona. After 15000 miles I needed a new transmission (it was covered) however my dealership did not have loaner cars so I had to pay for a rental, pay for Uber to get the rental, pay for the uber from the rental to pick up the car. Then to my surprise at 20000 miles I needed 2 new tires (which had 0 coverage). I was told to call Good Year. They covered the tire warranty.... Well 400.00 later I had 2 new tires for no reason except they were worn out!!! Hyundai basically said, Oh well!!! So the wonderful warranty they shove down your throat when you are looking is not all it is cracked up to be! BEWARE.

Elantra 2012. Made regular maintenance at the Agent every 5000 km. (12 times, now 55000). Went for a vacation & when I was back, suddenly no AC. Went to the agent and I was told that the AC has to be replaced all compressor, expansion valve, ... etc. I am 8 months after the warranty. The question is: if the regular maintenance doesnt protect your car from a sudden big problem (temperature here is around 49°C), why I have to do it? Either the car is junk and this is the normal lifespan, OR I was deceived by the agent just to pass the warranty and fix it CASH.

So I ventured into a 48 mo lease back in Nov. 2011 on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I got my vehicle from a well-known dealer down by the Philadelphia Auto Mall. The deal was fine, dealership was helpful and off I went in my new Elantra. The one small issue was with the color combination I had wanted but the dealer could not deliver on. So I settled on an available color combination and was happy nonetheless. Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and like a good loyal soldier I found myself back at the same dealership. This time I went in with a printout of the 2016 Elantra Limited I built on Hyundais online site. I was feeling confident I could finally get that color combination I had wanted back in Nov. 2011... NOPE!! The dealer searched around for my color combo and basically in so many words told me the closest location they could find my color combination was about 1,800 miles away in Oklahoma City. WHAT??? I figured I still and some time until my lease ended so I told them I was not in an immediate rush so they had time to get the vehicle (or one in that color combo) to Philadelphia. That suggestion was all but brushed off and I was basically given (once again!) the impression I would need to settle on a different color combination... I ended up in another vehicle that was NOT a Hyundai. My well maintained 2012 leased vehicle with 16,000 miles under the allowed mileage went back to the dealer and months later I receive a bill in the mail from Hyundai Finance totaling $850.20!! $380.00 for Excess Wear and Tear, $400.00 disposition fee and taxes totaling $70.20. As for the Excess Wear and Tear, did I mention my vehicle was well maintained? My carpets were NEVER even stepped on since the entire interior was lined with rubber flooring! There were no tears and/or burns to any seating surfaces. There were no dents and any scratches could be classified as your run of the mill light surface marks all finishes encounter at some point! With all that said, the biggest sticking point for me is that disposition fee. Or as I like to call it, a monetary gun to a consumers head to assure you NEVER leave their side. If Hyundai had such a wonderful product, the need to place a monetary gun to ones head to assure loyalty to the brand should not be necessary!!! Needless to say, I will NOT be a Hyundai customer again and my wife who is presently a Hyundai owner will not own a Hyundai in the future... at least not while I am breathing!! FINAL THOUGHT... Would you get into bed with Charles Manson? Venturing in to an auto lease with Hyundai can be eerily similar...

I was notified after I bought the car that all they give you is a can of spare tire. They do not even have a spare tire kit that you can buy until the end of this summer. The only thing I can buy is a new rim that fits and costs anywhere from $377.00 to $477.00, and thats without the tire. I drive a handicapped person, and this is very unacceptable, especially if something happens that cannot be fixed by spraying spare tire into it. Like I said, I was not told when I bought this car that there was no spare; or I would not have purchased it. I have dealt with Consumer Affairs at Hyundai and got no satisfaction whatsoever. I mentioned that if I was told there was no spare and I would not buy the car for that reason, they would have gone out of their way to give me one. This is very frustrating, since I cant even purchase one because there is no kit designed. I have already taken all their surveys before this was brought to my attention. But I would have told them what I really feel, if I had known. They seem to care, until you have an issue.

Hyundai is comfortable, has reasonable gas mileage, some luxury with leather seats and sun roof, rear window defroster and wiper, good stereo system, top carrier rack and cup holders in doors. It is also compact enough for one person, yet roomy enough for four people. It gets me anywhere and it has good consumer ratings. However, I wish there were more seat adjustments, air temperature control, heated seat temperature control, side mirror defrosters, different style of rear wiper so it doesnt get taken off in automatic car wash and heating system that doesnt blow warm air when fan is off. It also had some electronic issues early on that were covered under warranty. Rear wiper torn off in car wash twice. Must wash by hand.

Bought a Hyundai Elantra 2010 at Linwood in Paducah. A/C not working but did not know it; accepted hot air from it as normal. Drove in this condition with my cat to Lexington, KY; cat suffered heat exhaustion. Took it to the Glenn Hyundai and they said they fixed it. Same problem cropped again and again. And sometimes I did not use A/C. When I took it the last time for the AC: Dealer rep accused me of going there a few times and not ever mentioning that the AC was a problem and once I had not hit the button. Dealer said fixed it the first time - that dye was placed and small valve problem fixed. But I heard nothing about this. This time by mistake I saw the dealers notes which said cracks on belt. But that was not mentioned to me. Why were these belts not replaced during warranty? Do they wait until the warranty is over to cheat? Also, early on, I drove to another city and felt the steering pulling to the right. Being inexperienced and afraid of big trucks, I drove into the guardrail but I distinctly felt the tug to the right. This was in Jan/Feb 2010. In 2014/2015, Hyundai asked Hyundai Elantra owners to go to the dealer and get this steering problem fixed. Surface of steering wheel, brake lever, brake and gas foot pad all eroding after only 1 yr or 2. Got a lemon. Regret buying Hyundai. Nightmare car!!!

Brought my 2015 Santa Fe in the middle of March 2021 after my mechanic repo
Brought my 2015 Santa Fe in the middle of March 2021 after my mechanic reported engine issues. Dealership refused me at the door, after waiting an hour, and said there was no sound. 7months later, problem obviously worsens, and this time - wow, they found the same problem I reported 7 months prior. Did I mention my 6 year old vehicle only had 55,000 miles at the time I first reported this? What kind of quality engine starts fading at 55,000 miles - especially when the vehicle is primarily used to shuttle children to and from activities. Since it was bought used and past the warranty mileage of used cars (which why should the 100,000 mile warranty vary based on a car being used or new - perhaps because they know they can screw more people with said advertising?), Hyundai would only offer us 65% which might be okay if Hyundai engines weren’t 25,000$ (Are they using gold or some other precious gems in there?).What I’m also struggling with is the fact that smaller model Hyundai engines are being recalled left and right and totally covered. Well my semi larger sibling to these recalled vehicles is also experiencing this engine issue, so I beg you to consider this is an issue outside the smaller suv. The story doesn’t end there - so stay with me…Just over 2 months later (and a few days after completing a rating they sent me - ironic?), I hear back from the manager. They want to help me out - can you believe that!! I thought 2022 was going to be my year (despite Covid still going on and both my children having a stomach bug at the time of the call). There was one catch. Corporate would be more likely to work with me, IF I was willing to rescore them “as an act of good faith.” Well what fool would rescore them without a new offer proposed? You guessed it - this fool. In my defense, I wanted to know the percentage before rescoring, but of course that wasn’t possible since the higher ups had to make that offer. I figured - what do I have to lose?A month of me calling almost daily to find out what rescoring did for my problem resulted in nothing. Nada. Not a fraction of a difference because I don’t get my car serviced there and some other **. Which is ironic since their mechanics were the ones who didn’t notice the problem after my mechanic sent me there (now more than 10 months ago). Any respect for Hyundai (do you really find it acceptable for your engines to die at 55,000 miles?), any hope that they cared about their customer safety (I mean who would want their family driving in a vehicle that could leave them stranded after 55,000 miles), are lost. I am deeply disappointed with how much time I have wasted trying to work with a company that in my option is a scam. I’ve requested another rescore - think it’ll come as quick as it did the last time??

Your roadside assistance is horrific.. I had a flat tire. Could not inflate with your inflate a tire. The tire was tore up because you didnt have spare. Had to call roadside. They never showed up. This was Sunday 2/22/15. I was told they could not tow me to dealership until the following day. If I would have left my car on road it would have been towed per state trooper.. Thank goodness for the kindness of the trooper in Glen Allen, VA. He took my son to merchant tire, dropped him off. His girlfriend had to stay with car and the trooper checked on her. I could not get to the car soon enough and the trooper came back and picked my son up and took him back to care. Thank you so much trooper for your care and concern for my young son and his girlfriend stuck on the side of the road. I have also been on hold for 45 minutes waiting to get thru to Hyundai roadside, no answer yet. So much for your care and concern and this will be reported to 12 news on your side... The customer service rep was very hateful when we got thru the first time, said could not tow to dealership after hours. Bla, bla, bla. Thanks Hyundai for your help. I will be trading my car for another make and model. Goodbye.

Hi, just wanted to share with experience Ive had with Hyundai. I have encountered several issues with my Equus, both with the 2011 and the 2014 models. With the 2011, it was serviced a multitude of times, concluding with the installment of a new compressor. However, the cooling (or lack thereof) issue still remained. When that lease ended, I was assured that the A/C issues with the Equus had been rectified. In good faith, I leased a new 2014 Equus, and much to my dismay, the A/C issues were NOT resolved! So, here I am, AGAIN, in the same exact predicament! Hyundai insists on continuing to deny this problem exists and continues to market inferior products. Any consumer can read the blogs on the internet and clearly see that there is a definite A/C problem with the Hyundai models, including the Equus! Hyundai is lessening their credibility in continuing to deny this issue exists! Hyundai needs to step up to the plate and stop denying that they do not have an A/C problem with this vehicle. They MUST do the right thing. Otherwise, their reputation will be at stake. Recurring customers like me will no longer return, and unfortunately for Hyundai, we will tell others about the poor service and callous treatment we received and of our negative experience.

I am very disappointed with Hyundai. I purchased a 2015 Sonata sport on September 28 and 17 days later I went thru the car wash and the shark fin came off during the wash and it broke into pieces. I called the dealership and they quoted some ridiculous price for a plastic cover, I couldnt believe it, so next I called Hyundai corporate office to see if it was cover by warranty and was told no and they were sorry to hear about my misfortune and I am simply furious and sad at the same time because the refused to accommodate me in any way with a simple matter after not even having the care for a month. I see that they dont stand by their product and dont care about their customers satisfaction. I would hate to see what happens if I have a major problem. I am sure that that computer board underneath isnt supposed to be exposed but Hyundai could care less I see. So next I guess itll get ruined. I cant believe Hyundai would be so unconcerned and inconsiderate of its customers. I am also sure the fin should just come off in a car wash so it had to be defective before. I will tell all my family and friends that Hyundai is not a honorable company and it does not care for its customers and does not stand by their products. I should have known better when I read the articles about the car fires and they didnt take care of the people in that situation. I dont know why I expected them to give a crap about my issue. I have an appointment with south town Hyundai tomorrow. I dont know why or if I should even keep the appointment because I cant afford their prices. I was so excited about my new car and I actually love it, however this disappointment I have for Hyundai I have right now makes me never again buy or trust Hyundai. Live, learn and research before you buy. DONT BUY HYUNDAI!!!

My experience with Rick Case Hyundai in Duluth, GA was extremely horrible. I went in on Wednesday to trade in my very good condition 2007 Lexus GS 350 for a 2012 black on black Veloster. At first, Mr. ** wanted me to pay $1500 out of pocket for the car which was a no deal. So after hours of negotiating, we finally agreed on a title for a title. Then he tells me the car will be here on Friday. Friday came and went, and still no car. After waiting around all weekend, the car finally comes on Monday. But unfortunately the car interior was red! I was then talked into keeping the car to see if the red interior would grow on me. Two days later, I brought the car back because it did not grow on me. I asked Mr. ** that if they could change the interior color to black and he said they could for $1500. I politely told him no because it was not my fault that the wrong color car was ordered. Two hours later, I asked for my Lexus and the title back, and he said okay but I would have to pay a restocking and reconditioning fee of $599. I called my lawyer immediately and was informed that was ** and the dealership was only trying to make money off of me. After being constantly lied to and haggled, I told him no and patiently waited another hour for the keys to my Lexus. As a military veteran I was hurt, disappointed and highly ** that the Rick Case Hyundai of Duluth, GA would give me such a hard time of simply changing the interior of a car that they wrongly ordered! Buying a car is supposed to be a great experience, but it was a nightmare. I hope Steven ** does not continue to take advantage of people and especially, veterans.

I love my Hyundai Tucson. The interior is as nice as a luxury car interior (comparing to a Lexus and Subaru of comparable size). It is easy to get into and out of but has more ground clearance than a sedan. It is easy to handle in most driving conditions. It sits on an Elantra chassis so in tight curves or with wind, I recommend slowing down. It is Hyundais middle sized SUV, the Kona is smaller and the Santa Fe larger and I believe there is a new SUV that is even larger. This is the perfect size for a single person or a couple, it is probably to small for school age kids in the back. The sound system is very good and the limited comes with heated seats and other nice options.

Hi all. I purchased my new Sonata in 2012. I have had 4 radios installed and 1 antenna. I have had the car in the dealer more times than I should have for a new car. I need a new radio again at 89000 kms. The first 4 were covered as the antenna was. Now they say I am not covered anymore as mileage is over the warranty. My dealer had told me it would be covered for the time I own the car as it is an ongoing problem. Well thats not the case according to Hyundai Canada. The radio I am told is $4000.00. I have had 9 lights replaced as they keep blowing after time. Hyundai says this is normal???I now have a recall about the engine but the dealer said they (Hyundai) dont have the parts available yet to fix the car. The car stalls out at any given time even on the highway. This has been very dangerous and I have had close calls trying to get to the side of the road. I just spent one hour and four min. on hold with customer service and still waiting to speak to someone. I will Never purchase another Hyundai ever. I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Tuttle Click Dodge in Tustin. There they had a sticker posted with 39 hwy mph. My car gets no more than 24 mph on the freeway going 65 steady in the right lane with Chevron gas. I have taken it to 5 different Hyundai dealers complaining about the issue almost right away. They all shrugged their shoulders and told me they couldnt find a problem. That the digital eco meter is a dummy gauge and doesnt give accurate numbers. Then why do they match my manual calculations? Finally after I showed them the website where I found out about the class action lawsuit did they admit... oh ya your car does have a mileage problem. Oh ya... we already lost the lawsuit. We will waste a ton of your time, and then say sorry you are not original owner and therefore not eligible for gas reimbursement! Today I took my horrible Hyundai to the dealer and they gave it back to me with a huge scratch on the door. Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract
Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract information entered that I fought for 39 months. At month 36 of my 39-month lease, I learn they made an error and its a 48-month lease, We went around and around. Then turn in car at end of lease (48 months not 39-months mind you!) to have termination fees, return fees, mileage fees (I expected those), and had a $1400.00 bill. HMF tells me I can pay it incrementally via the same account. I pay $400. then $100 each month at the suggestion of the HMF call representative. I did this on principle because I was so mad about how I was treated so I decided to pay it slowly. Yesterday, I get a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe $1400.00. I explain I have the payment confirmations from my bank showing $900.00 in payments my husband has made--the agency says (quote) well hes lying. No payments have been made and you owe it. I call HMF today and the representative, Tanya, with a heavy Indian accent, tells me she sees the $900.00 and its in collection for $402.21. Again, I tell her that her Hyundai co-representative told me to pay it that way. She says, Ill make a note of that on your account but you have to make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it. I have never had collections on this or any car loan! OMG I was NEVER LATE NOT ONCE. It was auto-pay from my bank! I requested a statement with complete billing history and told Tanya I would pay Hyundai the full amount directly. I have been switched and mislead over and over. Buyer beware!

HMA has tried to get a deposition fee of $450 from me the last 8 months without my knowledge. They have been quietly killing my credit with delinquency filings through my credit agency. No letters were sent. Yes, I know about the deposition fee, but it is waived if a customer buys a new lease. I bought two new leases! My local dealer explained it all to me. NO fee if you re lease a new car. I got two... Didnt matter to HMA. I fought with customer service and their response was that the new cars I received were purchased 4 months before the lease expired. Apparently in the small print, you only have a 60 day window before the lease ends to get that deposition fee waived. Ridiculous! This is not the way to treat a long time customer. I called my local dealer and they have been way more willing to help me with this, as it was their sales staff that that relayed all this information. Hopefully, with the help of my local dealer HMA will fix this issue and will also fix the damage done to my credit. Their customer service reps were very unhelpful and rude. After I had purchased these new leases, a problem arose where my VIN # had been mixed up with someone else at purchase. One day I walked into my garage where my Sonata was automatically started by their Bluelink system, garage door closed, garage full of fumes, almost killing my dog who was in there. HMA could not have cared any less of what had happened as I explained the situation. They blamed the local dealer, offered me a few Hyundai points (incredibly insulting), and went on their way. They actually stopped talking to me as I expressed that their points offering was insulting. I wanted to make sure this doesnt happen again to someone else, yet they would not return my calls. These experiences with HMA would actually be funny if it wasnt so sad and scary. Please stay far away from this company! Terrible and unethical business practices.

I paid over $3K extra for a package with push button start so I could take advantage of the remote start feature. Its ridiculous that I have to pay $200/year to use this. I would actually be much better off to pay to have a remote car starter installed. Id do this if I hadnt paid so much for the push button start feature. Ive tried calling Hyundai to see if they could offer any sort of promotional rate, especially considering that now new owners get 3 free years of BlueLink. I tried calling BlueLink customer service on several occasions and hung up after being on hold for over 30 min each. We had gotten a recall in regards to the steering column and decided that the dealer we normally use (formally Brad Benson Hyundai, now DCN) is inconvenient being that its so far away and thought we would get the same workmanship that we have received in the past if we brought it to a closer location. We were so wrong. First, after the first recall they did not have a loaner car, so we relied on friends and family for a day or so. After picking up the car from freehold Hyundai, we noticed the steering was looser than usual and it had a knocking noise when the wheel was being turned. We called back FREEHOLD Hyundai and they said there was nothing wrong, so in that same day we continued driving. For about the three hours we had the car the engine was giving out on us... Again something unusual that was not there before we brought it in. So I said forget this. Im bringing it back to where it just came from. We went to FREEHOLD Hyundai and told them we cant drive the car like this... The servicemen named Issac was a bit understanding but not very because he kept telling us the steering was absolutely fine. They hold the car and the next day or so they called us and told us that our engine had caught fire... So heres what it is. I gave them a perfectly working car, and bring it to this chop shop and I get it back and my steering is all screwed up and then my engine just catches fire?? Im sorry but I call **. They have terrible mechanics at this shop and I believe, I firmly believe that they screwed something up as far as the engine is concerned and used the cover up that the engine caught fire because they knew there was a class action lawsuit against Hyundai for having engines going on fire after a certain amount of time. We were told at first that our engine wasnt going to be fixed for a few months because they were on back order because so many car engines were catching fire. So they did the right thing and issued my wife and I a loaner car for the time being. A month had gone by and we gotten news that my 8 year old son would need open heart surgery. Then someone posted a negative review about them not having a loaner car and we magically get a call the next day or so that our engine had been replaced and that we have something of theirs, and they have something of ours and we NEEDED to go and get our car. Thats not all. After giving this dealership a chance to redeem itself by trying to contact the man in charge of vehicle service, they wanted us to pay 1000 dollars to get everything fixed. Oh I forgot to mention that the power lock button was broken off and my cruise control stopped working all by itself!!! Isnt that magical??? We brought it to our own mechanic and he said that its a bushing on the steering column and is about 500 dollars to replace to the labor it requires. We have been back and forth with Hyundai the corporation for an entire week, with no resolution... Absolutely no idea from anyone to get the work done to get my wife and I our car back. So our car went in for a recall repair in July/August and it is now Oct going into November and I still dont have a car or any way to fix this. The corporation isnt working with me and the dealer is refusing to acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part. So here we stand, a minor recall turns into a disaster. We have tree kids one of whom was in the hospital in Queens NY and we live in NJ and no car!!! And no help... So heres what youre gonna do... Youre gonna go search cars companies that have exquisite customer satisfaction... And stay as far away from this ** of a company as you can. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT buy a car from this company and especially stay as far away from FREEHOLD NJ Hyundai dealership. Its terrible and they have terrible and inferior people working there.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon in March of 2011. It currently has 60,312 miles. Whenever the car needs to shift into 2nd gear, it jumps. I have been told that I need a new transmission. Being that I am not the first owner of this car, the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Being that the mileage is so low, I feel that the transmission should have not gone out so soon. This is my first purchase of a Hyundai. Ill never buy one again. Next time Ill stick with Subaru.

I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra on November 26th, 2014. The car was brand new when I purchased it. On December 23rd I noticed that my break lights would not turn off after having parked and removed the key. I was unable to get the light to turn off, but I had a trip scheduled to visit family during the holidays. I was forced to leave the car at my house in its present state. When I reached my destination on December 24th I called Hyundai (Lithia Springs) to tell them about the issues and to ask them how they wanted to handle this issue. The service representative told me to bring the car in on January 3rd. When I returned to Georgia I brought the car to Hyundai. While driving the vehicle I could smell a strong odor reminiscent of spoiled milk. When I arrived at the dealership they examined the car and initially told me that the issue was with the break clutch not depressing properly. After the technician replaced this part he returned to tell me that he was unable to correct the issue and that he suspected it to be an electrical issue. He requested that I leave the car with him so that it could be worked on and placed me in a loaner vehicle.I received a call today (January 6th, 2015) and was told that the issue had been isolated and that the car was not sealed properly and water had caused the electrical issues I was having. Mr. ** told me that the car would need to have the windshield removed, carpet removed, dried, and resealed. I expressed my concern with this and let him know that I wanted the car replaced immediately, to which he did not reply. I called back to speak with the manager Mr. **. He told me that Hyundai manufacturing would most likely not replace my brand new vehicle and that all he could do was try to fix the issues. I am truly unhappy and want my money back or a brand new car. I havent even driven this car 1,000 miles and not only am I without a car, but I am still being forced to pay for a car that was garbage when I bought it. Hyundai needs to give me my money back or replace my vehicle!

2011 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 L. - When stopped for a red light or just sitting at an idle (in gear or in neutral), the engine 1.8L vibrates so much that your body shakes while you are waiting for the green light. Vibration stops once the car is moving at normal speeds. I was told by the dealers service manager that Hyundai is aware of this problem, but few owners have experienced this problem and Hyundai may not fix this. Ive had this problem since I bought this car new off their lot. Its been 2 years now and I am very disappointed in the way Hyundai is doing nothing about my problem. I have continuously been bringing the car back to to the dealer asking the service people where I bought this car to please fix the problem. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do to fix it. At present, I have 40k miles. Please advise me.

My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Hyundai Sonata. We purchased this car because my wife commuted to work about 80 miles one way and liked the fact that it had the 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. The car has been great mechanically but now the exterior door handles are breaking off. I have since found out from 2 different dealerships that this is a known problem and was directed to file complaints with Hyundai and my Attorney General’s Office. Hyundai did contact me to address the complaint but refuse to offer any kind of assistance to repair the handles. I would not recommend this car to anyone looking to purchase one. This is not an isolated case. It is a known problem.

I purchased Hyundai Accent that was a couple of years old and a dull gray. Used car to run back and forth to work. It ran well all in all. We have since given the car to our daughter to use to drive back and forth to college. It is small with better mileage than other vehicles have owned. Some it was a couple years old we were able to get the car at a reasonable cost. Payments were manageable at $250 per month. However, car would not accelerate on hills well. The smaller size made traveling with the family tight sometimes.

Hyundai treated me with total disregard regarding my disposition fee being extended. I had a hip injury and need a hip replacement. Therefore, it would be foolish to get a new car and not be able to drive it. They were not understanding at all and was only interested in the disposition fee being paid to them. I paid the fee and wrote a letter asking if they would reimburse me the $439.05 until September 2019 when I would be able to drive again and purchase a new car from them at that time. They refused me and showed no compassion or consideration to me at all. It was all about the money they wanted. The whole disposition fee is to repair the car of any problems or cosmetic issues. My car was UNDER 13,500 miles which definitely improves the value of the car. I’m the only one that drove it and it was taken perfect care of. I even had an oil change done on it and filled the car up with gas the day I turned it in. The gentleman at Circle Hyundai said he never saw a car returned that still looked brand new. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai and will be sure to tell my family & friends of the total disregard they gave me. I was never treated so badly by a Corporation in my life. That did it for me and Hyundai.

My 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited was 11 months old when I took it to a deale
My 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited was 11 months old when I took it to a dealership due to my concern with rust in two different spots on the front edge of the hood. They said that they would need to take pictures and get a decision from their Hyundai rep. It was the middle of October before I finally heard from anyone (after making numerous phone calls) to learn that they had declined to repair the problem stating it was the result of rock chips which arent covered by their warranty. During the prolonged wait for an answer, a third spot of rust erupted on the front fender near the headlight, and there is nothing to indicate it was the result of a rock chip. According to the warranty, the paint is covered for three years; however, it doesnt cover rock chips.I understand this but my problem isnt that the car has rock chips. Every car Ive ever owned has had rock chips. My problem with Hyundais assessment is that the so-called rock chips have rusted so quickly, spread under the paint, which is blistering and falling off along with the other spot where there is not a rock chip. I have owned at least 10 cars in my lifetime and not one of them has ever rusted like that. I paid for additional coverage when I bought this car, as well as some Paint Seal protection that the dealership said they put on all new cars. It obviously didnt work, to the tune of an extra $200. My husbands car is over 25 years old, still has the original paint, and although it has rock chips, not one of them is rusting to this day. I suspect that I am not the only Hyundai owner with this complaint. Hyundai is making it a policy not to cover any repairs under their so-called warranty. What am I supposed to expect after another two or three years and I have another warranty claim? Am I going to have this fight with Hyundai every time? This is a simple fix and yet they are telling me that if a pebble hits my car, I should expect it to rust immediately and its my problem. In addition, my seatbelt retractor on the passengers side stays locked. It has been this way since I purchased the car. When taking the car to the dealership to have the rust issues assessed, I told them about the issue with the seatbelt retractor. After first telling me they could not fix it since the problem seemed to be intermittent, they finally agreed to replace it after my husband was able to easily reproduce the problem. I returned on Oct. 18 and they replaced it. After leaving the dealership, I realized that the new seatbelt retractor was also locking up. It locks when you snap it on and in order to do anything, such as reach for the radio, open the glove box, etc, you must undo the seatbelt. This occurs repeatedly so you are continuously snapping and unsnapping your seatbelt. I immediately turned the car around and took it back to Jeff Wyler. They said they would need to contact Hyundai since they already replaced it with a new seatbelt retractor and would get back with me.Today is Oct. 25th. Once again, I am waiting for them to call me and let me know what the next step is so I can have a working passenger side seatbelt. I have never had this problem with any other auto manufacturers warranty. I have owned two Chevys prior to this, and Chevrolet bent over backwards to make sure my concerns were taken care of quickly and with respect. I switched to Hyundai because of their supposed unbeatable 10-year warranty, but apparently, it is meaningless since they wont honor it. I am so frustrated at this point because this terrible experience has left me hating my new car which Im stuck with while it slowly rusts away from a couple of rock chips along with an unusable passengers side seatbelt. I also want to add that this car is rarely driven and kept in a garage. After owning it now for one year and one month, this car has only 6200 miles. I have subsequently filed a complaint through the BBBs Autoline, which is the recommended procedure in Hyundai Owners Manual and Warranty Booklet. Thank you.

I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in 2008. My daughter has a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that she purchased in 2008. Her sun visors broke and hang down in the way. Now my driver side sun visor is broke and hangs down in the way. If this was just one vehicle, I wouldnt think too much about it. But now it has happened to both of us. The metal bar that the sun visor is on just will not turn in the plastic part to go up and down. And the plastic part broke. I did call Hyundai at 800-633-5151 to see if there were any recalls. I was advised by Jared that there were no recalls. I think there needs to be a recall, because I am sure it cannot just be our 2 cars. I did ask if there was anything that could be done. My car is over the year and mileage (64000). Thanks.

My 2007 Hyundai Elantra started with a clicking noise a few days ago so I took it into the dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA. They called me a few hours later to ask me for my records of my oil changes. I said, What records? The service guys said, Well we need the maintenance records in order to fix your car. I was baffled. I said, How would I even begin to obtain those? I rarely visit the same place more than once and I have lived in several cities since I bought the car. He said to me, Well then look at your bank records. I had also switched banks of almost 10 years and this was assuming I had paid debit or credit for the oil change. I let them know how ridiculous that was and how if I had been told to ensure to keep all records at the time of purchase or their warranty would be void, then I would have done so. His response was, Its in the manual. Seriously?! The 1,000 page manual that nobody reads? Ridiculous! I then asked for the manager, which he refused to give me, but said he would give me the Hyundai customer service number. I then called them and got the same responses from the first lady. Its in the manual. So I asked for a manager. The case manager Evon seemed to understand and said he would call the dealer and find out what was going on and call me back. I never got a call back from him and had to call them back myself, twice. Both times ended up speaking to 2 different people. Both of which also gave me the same response, Its in the manual. I have worked in customer service for 10 years and have never seen such terrible service. If I treated my customers the way I have been treated, I would be out of a job! The reason I purchased the car was because of the warranty! Which is how Hyundai advertises. Its ridiculous that they want records of oil changes when I have had my car for almost 6 years. How unreasonable are you guys?! I have spent countless hours calling locations I have been for oil changes. Ive had to travel to Santa Ana, Sherman Oaks, Moorpark and Simi Valley in California just to visit these locations and see if its possible to get reprints. Oh and if you do your own oil changes, you have to provide receipts of purchases of your oil. Wow! Case manager and Hyundai customer care got me nowhere. I have spent days searching and visiting shops. So ridiculous and such a waste of my time. My car has just hit 73,000 miles. Why cant you just fix it? Its still under your warranty. I am extremely angry and dissatisfied. My family has chosen Hyundai and this was the first car I had ever purchased for myself. I work hard everyday to get by and pay my rent and my car. I need to rely on my car to get to work to make that paycheck, which is why I bought a Hyundai, because I thought I was buying a reliable car with a great warranty. Not true! I have little hope that their customer service or their lies will change. I refuse to pay $3,000 for a new engine on a 6-year-old car with 73,000 miles on it!

So I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Veloster with 34k on it. 7/12 my car started acting up losing power and I guess I would call it vibrating. The car only had 80k in miles on it. The dealership that I took the car to for service for the whole time the car ran said something about a #2 cylinder was bad and that they recommend doing the spark plugs too. I drove my car there daintily only on city streets, no highway, regular street speeds. According to the mechanic at hyundai after they did this the car would no longer hold combustion. Prior to this episode my car ran pretty good and was well maintained as well. Proper oil changes and maintenance as well however I did notice that it seemed to be going through more oil than usual and I had mentioned this to my service rep at Hyundai and he recommended that we start to monitor the oil consumption between oil changes and to start coming in every 1000 miles which I did. 7/7 I brought my car in to have the oil checked as it was just before the 1000 miles and I had plans to drive the car to little rock Arkansas so I wanted to make sure all was ok with my car as I always do before taking a trip in my car. So I barely make it back and the car started like get stuck in lower gear and make like a revving sound and but wasnt going any faster and the check engine light came on and was blinking and while blinking the car just didnt act right but if I turned the car off and then turned it back on the check engine light would stop blinking. It would stay on but it would stop blinking and the car would move. I got home and drove it directly to the dealership and left it there with them. I get back a car that had to be towed from the dealership and needs a motor. But because I am a second owner the engine is no longer under warranty and the motors have been discontinued so all I can really get is a used motor and the quote that I got from hyundai was 6500. Again all on me. Hyundai will not help in any manner. I am a handicapped individual who is now left carless and with no means to get any type of engine for the car. I said all this to say I am very very disappointed I thought I was buying a reliable car with a reliable name behind it but it doesnt seem for me that was the case. Im just screwed, paid something like 35,000 in car notes for a car that only ran for 3 yrs. If I only wanted a car to last for 3yrs I could have just gotten a cash car. I appealed to hyundai and was assigned a case manager by the name of Tyler who never talked personally to me. She would call and when I returned her call was placed right into voicemail then the only emails I got were the ones that said, We appreciate you contacting us and we will get back to you, and then when she finally responded it was to tell me that there was nothing that they were willing to do for me.

We leased a new 2016 Hyundai in December 2016 and had nothing but trouble with the lease from the very beginning. Our Santa Fe was leased from a dealership in Colorado. We had no trouble on a previous lease but this time the communication between the leasing company and the dealership was horrible. The salesmen on the floor were using filthy language and the finance person didnt send the paperwork and our payment up front in for almost 60 days. Hyundai leasing called us to tell us we were late on our payment when we had not received any paperwork yet to make a payment. We set up payments through our bank and about 14 months later after the finance company did an update on their software they called again to tell us we hadnt paid our payment and our bank had not accepted the payment. We had received a confirmation number on the payment. The finance company was ready to ** us. Then I had them look at the bank info on their end. IT WAS INCORRECT!!! Our account showed no change(?). Again they fixed it and apologized to us. We couldnt wait to bring the lease back this December which by the way, was in EXCELLENT condition and 7,000 miles below what the millage of 30,000 miles. The dealership tried to sell us the car but we just turned it in. They had us sign a paper (which we never got a copy of) and said that was it and we could leave. Today we got a bill telling us we still owed $433.00 to bring the car in at the end of the lease that we were still responsible for the final payment and if there was any damage to car we turned in-we would be billed for that (???) plus a late fee if they didnt get the $433.00 in 15 days. Good grief! I had thought it was OK to drop our auto insurance when we turned it in!! What if they sold the car or were allowing people to test drive it?? We called Hyundai finance and they said it was their bill and not the dealerships. Nothing was said to us when we returned the PERFECT car. This sounds like a legal scam!! This never happened with our first lease. Why this time?? Its not like we have so so credit; it is over 800! This has been so distasteful that we will never go back to Hyundai nor will we consider a lease again. We will make sure to tell everyone we know not to lease from Hyundai. By the way; we immediately paid the $433.00 and got the CONFIRMATION NUMBER however they said it would take them two weeks to get the paperwork to us showing the lease was paid in full. Additionally, they said they couldnt send an email showing the final payment and release of the lease. I will be waiting and watching our bank account because-again-I DO NOT TRUST THEM!! We are not sure if they will do as they told us or will they say the payment didnt go through and bill us a late fee??? VERY unhappy with Hyundai and Hyundai finance.

I bought a Hyundai I20 from Hyundai Culemborg - Cape Town. I took delivery on 30 July 2011.There was a noise coming from the steering and I informed the dealer. The noise got worse as I drove the vehicle.I was told to take my car to another dealer and they told me to take it back to Culemborg to sort out. I was then told to book my car into Milnerton, Cape town, which was inconvenient for me.Something was only done when I took my car into the dealer on Saturday, 10 September and asked for the manager.Eventually, my car was collected on 14 September. I was told it would take a day to sort out.I was then called on 10 September to say the part will only be arriving on 26 September and I would get my car by the 26 or 27 of September.I was offered a replacement car to use in the meantime, but an automatic was delivered. I do not drive automatic so I asked for a replacement which was brought to me.The two left hand doors dont line up either.Surely, a new car should not have these problems. These cars should be checked before arriving at the dealers, and clearly, this vehicle has not been checked correctly.I am paying a lot of money for a new car, which does not seem new. A new car should not need to have a part replaced! I am very dissatisfied with the entire experience of buying a new car at Hyundai. I requested a new car and was told I would not get one.I will be taking this matter further.

On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?

Hyundai claims to have Americas best warranty but if you read the fine print youll find out otherwise. Three of the five cars Ive owned as an adult have been Hyundai cars. I liked the warranty and the service, however I have never once with all the servicing Ive had on my cars had their warranty cover anything. Recently I had a transmission problem on my car and I found out that not only am I not covered for 100,000 miles or 10 years as they like to advertise, Im not even covered for 60,000 or 5 years. My car has about 56,000 miles on it and they are not covering anything at this point.Hyundai loves to advertise their amazing 100,000 or 10 year power train warranty, but that only applies to the original owner. The second someone else owns the car it drops down to almost half the mileage (60,000) or 5 years, whichever comes first. It wouldnt be as infuriating if they had not been so vocal about their warranty the whole time. They told me over and over again about the coverage and how great the warranty is. The second youre outside the life of the warranty though things will start falling apart. Its happened with every Hyundai Ive owned. This is the last Hyundai I will ever own.

I purchased a new 2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS in 2005. I also purchased the Hyundai factory extended warranty which covers most of the parts and systems for 10 Years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. In the past, I have been very impressed with the customer service and support of Hyundai owners by Hyundai Motor America. However, their new CEO is apparently abandoning the policy of supporting their customers and their good will. Just after the car passed the 100,000 mile mark, the cars thermostat worth around $13 stuck and the radiator was fried. There were no warning lights to alert me to stop driving the car as it was overheating. My Hyundai dealer wanted almost $1,000 to replace the thermostat and radiator. I almost fainted. I called other Hyundai dealers and they told me they heard of this occurring on other Hyundais the same year and model as mine. I called Hyundais customer connection line. After reviewing the case, they refuse to offer any relief. I also noticed that in the customer satisfaction surveys, Hyundai formerly sent their customers after service was done on their car to ensure dealers were doing a good job have ceased. No wonder Hyundai has dropped off the list of Americas 10 Best Selling Cars in 2011 and only has about a 5% share of the US auto market. Taking their valued customers for granted will most likely cost Hyundai dearly in customer loyalty and repeat business.

Hyundai wont credit a months lease payment even though my vehicle is in for engine repairs for over a month and the clock is still ticking. I leased a 2012 Genesis R-spec. Around 12,000 miles, I started hearing intermittent engine knocking. When I took the car in for service, a service specialist said there is no issue and any engine issues would be covered by a warranty. 5,000 miles later, the engine knocking was happening all the time above 2,500 RPM or under acceleration or driving up a hill. When I took the car in for service, the service specialist said yes, this engine knocking. Five weeks later, Im still without my Genesis. Apparently, Hyundai doesnt know how to maintain a parts supply chain very well. Besides the engine problem, there are other design problems with the car: seats with very poor support that become very noticeable on a long drive; too much play in the steering wheel which at high speeds can be a bit dangerous since there can be an abrupt jerk of the wheel; and a transmission that doesnt always know when to shift. As a previous owner of Mercedes, BMW and Lexus, I will surely think twice about owning a Hyundai again.

A few years ago I bought my new Hyundai Sonata. I still drive this car every day to work, love it. Unfortunately, Hyundai has no customer service when it comes to their finance company/department. After paying off my Sonata 3/24/2015, Hyundai sent the title etc. On 4/9/2015 Hyundai took $491.51 out of my bank account! My wife called and we told them to stop, which they agreed and said it would take 30 days to cut a check back to us for the amount they owed us. Again on 5/11/2015 they took out another $491.51, so this time I called. Their (800) 523-4030 customer service number is a joke. I had to talk to a supervisor who was able to tell me the first overpayment check was in the mail and that it would take another 30 days for the second overpayment check to be cut and then mailed. So, its 6/25/2015 and Im at my wits end... I believe its time for a lawsuit. I called yesterday 6/24/2015 and spoke with a supervisor ** who said he would call back and never did... the only status I received was that the check hadnt been cut and they cant seem to figure out why. Luckily after the second occurrence I contacted my bank and had them block Hyundai from messing things up further. I contacted Hyundai again today on my way to work, spoke with another supervisor who said shes escalated... took my cell number down and said shed call me back... well she never did and its 9pm.I feel that Hyundai finance lacks customer service so bad that Im now to the tipping point of never doing any more business with Hyundai motors in general. Luckily the $491.51 isnt my rent, but I know that nearly $500 is a lot of money to most families. Ive contacted the Corporate customer service who cant do anything about it because the Hyundai Motors Finance is a separate company all together... now I know why. This is the last time Ill ever finance anything without an actual bank or financial establishment, Hyundai... get your act together. Ill be suing for the interest I could have made on over 30 days of the first $491.51 and will be suing for the second $491.51 plus interest until this is settled. I hate to do it because my time is money and its an annoyance, but its my civic duty. I paid Hyundai interest when they loaned me money to purchase one of their cars, so they should pay me for interest when I loaned them money (unknowingly and without approval) until they pay me back in full. In conclusion, steer clear of Hyundai Motors Financing... they have no clue what theyre doing and have no authority to actually service their customers properly.

While returning from destination 50 miles from home, we stopped to take a break. My wife noticed that the rear bumper had detached from the right side of the car. I was unable to snap it back in and forced to drive back with it detached. Because of the wind caused from driving, the bumper (made of rubber) tore even more.I brought the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited into the Hyundai dealer in La Quinta. They examined it and took photos, Their position was that it was caused by an outside force and refused to cover it under warranty, I escalated to the Hyundai Southern Regional office. After several days, they contacted me and agreed with the dealer. This is BS because the only damage they saw on the bumper was some missing paint on the underside. I checked it out and there was no paint missing, the surface was smooth, not rough as it would be if it was scraped. The paint was missing because it was not completely painted underneath. I extremely disappointed and would never buy a Hyundai again, I think they are cheaply made. The exterior dents with even a minor bump from a parked car door.

I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra For $8999 with 83,000 miles on it in January 2018. Today is March 20, 2018 and the car needs a new engine. They will not replace the engine. I took it to Morrie’s Hyundai to fix and they refused to fix it saying Hyundai corporate refuses to fix the engine because I am 2nd owner of the car that the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Who has allowed them to make and sell cars, take peoples money and not honor the warranty. It’s a crime that needs the law to look at this. I have a car loan on a dead car not even worth enough to trade for another. I want the engine fixed or my money back or at least replace the car.

I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screami
I have never been so disappointed in a brand in my life. I will die screaming from the rooftop how awful Hyundai has been in regard to this MAJOR recall. The engines was recalled in 2017. I had it check. ONE YEAR later it blew while I was driving it with kids in the car. The only way I could get urgency from anyone at Hyundai was to merge a call with corporate and the dealership together because neither could lie to me at that point.Today 6 weeks later I am attempting to get my claim reimbursement and I just noticed NO ONE contacted me to tell me that there was missing documentation. So I called the claim department. They informed me that not only do I have to submit a receipt for the towing I needed to show a bank statement. Additionally, the documents that the supervisor Kaitlynn told me I was missing was completely different than the documents that Guadalupe (my claim agent) listed on my claim site. So had I not called I would have submitted documents that I didnt need to submit prolonging the entire bunk process set in place. Now the dealership... I picked up my car and left a message on 9/29 asking for a return call. I called again today 10/9 because I had no return call. They listed a oil change sticker on my window for 8500 from the day I picked up my car. When I spoke to someone today they stated oh no. It needs to be 3750 miles and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? I just picked up the car. NO. Nor will I take it back for additional service. This is a disaster and will be the LAST Hyundai I buy. BUYER BEWARE. This is not a good brand that values customer service. This is a cluster of a company that is barely getting by.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata that I purchased brand new in December 2012. It just hit 36,000 miles. I am having a serious concern about the rust and corrosion under the hood of the car meaning all of the metal clamps and motor mount are rusted, also the strut bolts are corroded. The metal on the power steering hose is rusted, the undercarriage is rusted at the weld points. I have had the car back to the Hyundai dealer three times now. Each time they have stated that they have sent pictures to the regional manager. I did speak with the regional manager recently and he said that he never received any pictures so I dropped the car off again to have pictures taken. This made the 3rd time that it had been dropped off. I am hoping for a positive result. The tech stated that this was not normal and ask if my car was at the shore points a lot. I dont live near the shore.

I have purchased 3 new Hyundais in the last 4 1/2 years. I would consider myself a loyal customer. On 8/19/18 I stopped at Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala, FL. to purchase my 4th Hyundai in 4 1/2 years. I had with me the internet information on the SUV I was going to purchase. Listed below plus the window sticker posted on their website.Detailed Pricing. Stock # : Y5005 / VIN : KM8J33A21JU683376. $30,800MSRP. $1,000Savings. $29,800 No-Haggle Price. $2,500 Hyundai Offer. $500 Hyundai Offer. $26,800 Final Price. $500 Conditional Offer. $500 Conditional Offer. $400 Conditional Offer. When I sat down to purchase the SUV I was told the price was just a little over $35,800 because of the added dealer extras. This information wasnt listed on the website (as you can see above). I came to the dealership to negotiate the price listed above $26,800 and was told I could purchase the SUV for $32,800 plus tags, taxes and a dealer prep fee of $899.00. As you can see above $26,800 Final Price. Only a fool would fall for this scam!I ask why they didnt list the $35,800 on the internet and their answer was we dont have to. This is totally dishonest! In doing some more research on the SUV and cars on the Jenkins lot I discovered most if not all are priced this way and are not listed on the website. They are all similar to the deal I was served up. The bottom line is that the website price is a scam to get you to the dealership so they can rip you off. This was a horrible experience. At previous dealerships when purchasing a Hyundai I was treated with respect and they negotiated in GOOD FAITH! You should be ashamed for having a crooked dealerships like this one!

2008 Hyundai Sonata - Driving to work 2 weeks ago, I noticed the rear end of the car felt strange, some movement in the rear end. As I was driving something happened in the rear of the car. I knew I was going to wreck - my car moved so quickly and spun to right, knocking me out. From my understanding of the wreck from a man who observed the wreck - I flipped multiple times, was on my side, landed upside down and slid upside down fast and for some distance and hit a tree (?), a stump came up inside the car - Jaws of Life had to remove me. I am recovering and a guardian angel had to be with me to have survived this horrible wreck - something happened in the rear of the car - there is a recall for a crossbar in the rear suspension that can erode due to snow, salt etc...?

HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 20
HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 2012 I wrote Steve Kelleher a letter stating my sheer dissatisfaction with the water problems I was experiencing with my 2010 Genesis Coupe. These problems became apparent in October 2009, less than 6 months from when I purchased it brand new in May of 2009. I have a multitude of work orders showing evidence of this water leak as well as my diligence in trying to address these issues. To date the sunroof is still leaking and soaking the back interior of my car. HYUNDAI CANADA is refusing to address this leak as the car is now out of warranty. In my letter to Mr. Kelleher I stated the following as well as sending him proof of the work orders: Water running down the back speakers after rain. Leaks soaking the trunk as well as interior back panel and seat. The radio cuts in and out after heavy rain when the car is cold. The air conditioner and fan randomly turn on when both dials are off. Thick frost accumulates on the insides of the windows when cold. Windows fog up in the rain. The car smells musty. Back tail lights leaking.Since then radio cut out when loading CD player, eating my CD and rendering CD player inoperable. Because of a faulty sunroof mechanism the water leaks have caused staining of the interior liner. The interior liner was totally replaced because of extensive water damage. The seals around the back window were replaced springs popping out of the back seat and the leather seat ripping at seams where water was pooling so the backseat was replaced. The passenger window was lifted and reset because it was an entry point for water. The ABS light remained on and was repaired. The passenger window would not close and sporadically after a rain gets stuck. Tail lights leaking both resealed. LeakPro resealed the car (sunroof, mechanisms, drip tray...etc.). Over 1 of water was recently wet-vacuumed out of the trunk. This car has done nothing but leak and after almost 8 years the water leak has not been resolved. Over the years the dealership has tried to address the problems that the water leak has caused but for whatever reason have not addressed the water leak itself. My car is still getting soaked after it rains. The dealership cannot afford to investigate this leak further and submitted a request to Hyundai Canada which was declined. It is time for Hyundai Canada to step up and back their product and their warranty. Because this has been an ongoing problem that has not been resolved since I purchased the car in 2009, the time sensitivity of the warranty should not be a factor.I am a single mom who has recently been reduced to a 4 day work week. I saved for and purchased this car because of Hyundais extended warranty and their reputation of standing behind their product. This car was not cheap and I expected it to last me a very long time. With water damage this car will rust and cause more electrical problems.

I own two Sonatas, an 03 and an 08. Originally, the airbag light came on for the 03 around 140,000 miles and it was the passenger seat sensor. I eventually just got another seat from a salvage yard. Now, my 08 light is on and it too is the passenger seat causing the problem. This seems to be an ongoing issue with Hyundai (not just the Sonata). As the end user, we should have the ability to turn these things off. Unfortunately, in Virginia, we have annual inspections and if the light is on, it fails and you cant drive the vehicle. Im only complaining and realize my car is out of warranty.

I should have known better. I was a career car reporter, now retired, and I had seen first-hand the quality issues with Hyundai. But reviews like those in Consumer Reports convinced me things had changed, so I purchased a new Elantra GT in Canada in 2005 with a 5-year warranty. As I was retired, the car sat in the driveway mainly and that was part of the problem. More mileage would have unveiled the problems quicker. As delivered from the dealer, a brake light was missing and the alignment was off. I had my own mechanic fix these at my cost. I also had the car rust-proofed with oil spray as Korean steel is known to rust quickly. (Did not help, door seams and hatch rusted anyway.) Engine head gasket failed within 3 months and dealer botched the repair. I complained to Hyundai Canada and the engine was taken apart a second time, repair done correctly but the engine pinged after that, meaning that the compression ratio had been altered in the repair. Mirrors froze but I fixed the controller myself with WD40. Radio died, I upgraded it. Brakes vibrated but I fixed it myself with custom rotors rather than fight the dealer. Finally, dealer went under and disappeared. A month after the warranty expired, so did my steering rack. 25,000 miles on the car in 5 years and the rack blew. My mechanic put a new one for $1,700 in and that lasted 3 months. Extensive research on the net in chat groups and I found blown racks a common problem in the model. And the replacements fail because, allegedly, they are stored outdoors in Korea and the seals dry out. I sued Hyundai in Small Claims. Did they send a lawyer? No. Did they try to settle or fix the car? No. They sent the head of the central (head office) Parts Dept. who lied under oath to the judge about my attempts to resolve the issue. I won, but got rid of the car. Trade in for a 5-year old 2005 Elantra GT with 25000 miles, new brakes, new Michelins, upgraded radio, and needing a rack? $3,000. (Paid $20,000 five years earlier). Ugh.

I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra 2013 two weeks back. After one week, the navigation system voice stopped working and it does not detect my phone too via bluetooth. There is also some burning smell I get when I drive. I paid almost $30,000 for this car with the high rate of interest and it is a brand new car, which I purchased from the dealership. I feel cheated and hurt as it has been heavy on my pocket and I am not satisfied with the car. I would want it to be replaced with a new good model as I did not pay so much money for a faulty car with parts which were not pretested. The navigation system not working in barely 2 weeks is a big surprise to me. As a customer, I feel the service has been pathetic and I would not recommend Hyundai to my friends and anyone else.

Going to the dealer is normally not a problem but it was SUNDAY!!!!!! I told the person at Roadside that but it didnt seem to faze her. The nearest dealership was my only option. So now my car is stuck there overnight and I miss a days work because I work 35 miles away. If they brought me home I could have had it fixed. Purchased new 2009 Hyundai Azera Limited. Tired of being misrouted by the factory navigation system, I tried to order new map software from MapnSoft following the instructions in the Owners Manual. MapnSoft wrote back that the radio you have is manufactured by LG and the contract between Hyundai and LG ended 2 years ago... we do not have any update to offer and we do not foresee being able to provide an update in the near future. I called Hyundai Customer Service and was told they couldnt do anything and to see a Hyundai dealer because I bought the car from a dealer. (What in the world is wrong with that logic?) Ive seen similar complaints on the Azera forum from 2009 and 2010 Azera owners and I think its wrong for Hyundai to prematurely end the contract they had to keep their navigation systems up to date.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. We traded in my Hyundai Tucson for two new 2008 Sonatas in 2008. We are not happy at all with the quality of the cars. After going in 2010 for an oil change the dealer told me I needed 4 new tires. He insulted me by saying that I must drive like a maniac. We didnt trust that every time we went for an oil change or maintenance they seemed to find something else wrong. They asked us for a second chance to service our cars. So on 12/14/11 we went with hesitation for oil changes. For the past year we were taking our cars to Meineke for maintenance since they guarantee their work and are a lot cheaper. Never fail, this time they claimed I needed 2 new tires, and hubbys car needed new brakes at $1159.00. We told them to just do the oil changes. After we picked up our cars my husband’s car just broke down after 3 blocks. We called them and got it towed back to the dealer which I thought was covered, but turns out it was our expense also. They claim it was the fuel pump. We had no choice but to let them fix it or tow it somewhere else. They still got us for $750.00. We wonder if they shorted something because we werent going to let them do the brakes for $1159.00. As of today 12/26/11 we still owe 2 more years payments and are very worried what else is going to happen to these cheap quality vehicles. We have dealt with Chevrolet and Toyota and never had a problem with the quality or felt like we were being ripped off royally. Hyundai constantly sends us offers to trade in our cars and we were seriously thinking about it. Now we just wish we could give the cars back and go somewhere else. We cant believe this is happening before we even have them paid off. We wish we could use the lemon law to help us. We will tell anyone who asks not to buy a Hyundai. Buying a Hyundai is like going to the 99 cent store for cars. You get what you pay for.

First and last Hyundai. I came from a Toyota family, but Id heard about the progress Hyundai was making, so I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata (23 miles on it) in April of 2014. Fast forward to last week (March 2016) my wife experienced engine trouble with it. No check engine light or anything. But no problem, they have a 10yr/100,000 mile warranty on it, right?? WRONG! I took it in to get the engine fixed and they denied my request. They stated that based on what they saw, I didnt maintain the vehicle. Not once did they ask for my service records! (I had my car serviced more than the recommended amount...) I come to find out theres a class-action lawsuit for this very issue. They refuse to honor their warranty EVEN AFTER I provided proof of maintenance! This car was not even 2 years old yet. How frustrating. Be sure and avoid these guys. Theyre crooked. This Hyundai car is just the right size, the amount of gas it burns is great, it gives a comfortable ride. There is plenty of room for passengers, the trunk is very large and great room for suit cases and groceries. Having front wheel drive and it handles well in the snow. Also, it has air conditioning, cruise control, CD player with an AM/FM radio, a five speed automatic, rear window defroster and keyless lock. Another feature is that the rear seats fold down allowing you to place big objects in the back, if the trunk is not big enough. The car also has driver and passenger side air bags. Though it did not have a spare tire it did have a tire inflator that can plug into an accessory socket. But I wish the car had a bigger engine because it lacks power and a rear camera would make it more easy to back up, it should also come with Bluetooth to make pairing with smart phones and MP3 players.

My Tucson 2017 had a problem with acceleration. The dealership technician inspected the car for and said there is no permanent solution for this problem. Surprisingly they charged $120 for doing nothing on a guaranteed car. And the customer service did not respond to my complaint.

My daughter was in an accident in October 2015 with the Hyundai Elantra. The airbags did not deploy, the whole front end was crushed in, and car was totaled. I made a claim with Hyundai in October 2015, sent all documents they required, was told I would hear something week after thanksgiving and heard nothing. I feel like they are avoiding me and the problem with their car. All three sensors were hit in the accident.

I purchased my third Sonata, a 2012, just four months ago. I purchased my first two from a dealership near my home in Houston but my third Sonata was purchased in Baytown, Tx. After only a little over 4000 miles, this Sonata left me stranded in Austin, Texas with what I was told was a failed wheel bearing. Fortunately, the wheel did not come off and I made it to a safe area. I felt that being a loyal Hyundai consumer, that Hyundai would help to address this (now third issue) with my car. The car had to go in for service for a back brake plate rubbing against the rotor the first week of ownership.I am having great difficulty getting anyone at Hyundai or the dealership to acknowledge that this Sonata has inherent issues that would warrant replacement of the vehicle. I no longer have confidence or feel safe driving this car. I even question as to whether I might have been sold a car that was unsafe to drive. When the car was towed to the dealership in Austin for repair, they first told me that they did not know for certain what was wrong with it - only that it was something serious and I would be encouraged not to drive it even across town. Many assurances of help and complete satisfaction - and none followed though.

I have owned three Hyundai cars, all have been new cars under warranty. I have only had to taken them in for mechanical issues less than ten times. I have never been told by a Hyundai service department that if they find that the problem is not a warranty issue, like a rat chewing through a wire, or hitting a curb and knocking something loose, that I will be responsible for paying over $100 for them taking time to look at my car, whether they fix the issue or not. I can understand the cost of fixing the issue, but not the cost of just looking at it. I can understand if I was bring in a 2001 Toyota. But I am bringing in a Hyundai to a Hyundai dealership while under warranty. It is implied that while under warranty the dealership for that brand of car will check your car when it has mechanical issues for free, and if it isnt a warranty issue, charge you for the repairs. I mean they sure do talk up how good having a warranty is when they talk you into buying that 10 year 100,00 mile extended bumper to bumper warranty, but if you want to get it looked at, you better bring $200, just in case the problem isnt under warranty. Because whether they fix it or not you’re paying. This was my experience at North Freeway Hyundai in Houston TX. The service consultant Bruce ** didnt even test drive my car to see if he felt what I was feeling, until he first told me that just to look at my car, I basically need to have the money to pay just in case it isnt a warranty issue.

I leased a 2021 Hyundai Kona EV from Hyundai November of last year. The vehicle has been giving me issues since, constant dashboard lights and issues with the electric vehicle system. After attempting to charge the vehicle at home, the vehicle would not charge at all. This occurred on January 28, 2022. I anticipate the issue would be due to weather and did not drive it for a few days. On February 1, 2022 I attempted to drive the vehicle and it would not pick up a charge. On the dashboard a check engine light displayed (Check Electric Vehicle System). The only charge left on my vehicle 19% of battery, roughly 58 miles of distance.I contacted the dealership and explained my issue, and they stated I would have to tow the vehicle to their location, and incur towing fees at my own expense. I then contact a dealership that was much closer, and they scheduled me for service on February 22, 2022. After dropping the vehicle off, the service advisor contacted me 9 days later and explained to me that the vehicle has an issue with the electric vehicle system. He also advised me that the electric vehicle battery must be replaced, and the time frame for replacement is 5-7 months.I contacted Hyundai Corporate and explained to them the issue. I advised them that I would like to have the vehicle purchased back from Hyundai due to its defect since the vehicle can not be repaired in a timely manner, and has a defective issue. I also explained to them that an issue with the battery concerns me, and I do not feel safe charging the vehicle at home knowing there is an issue with the battery, and there may be an issue with the replacement battery as well. The safety of myself and my family must be taken into consideration when dealing with an issue on a vehicle that is plugged into the electrical system of my home. Hyundai advised me that there is nothing they can do, and I am stuck with this vehicle. This entire situation has been an unforeseen nightmare.I am at a lost for words at the experience that I have had with Hyundai Motor America. This is a new vehicle with roughly 5,000 miles, and I am being forced by Hyundai Motor America to continue to remain in a lease for vehicle their own employees have told me could be many months to repair. Hyundai Motor America is refusing to assist me in the matter knowing that the vehicle is a lemon, under New Jersey lemon law. I highly suggest anyone reading this to rethink to do business with Hyundai Motor America.

So I have been leasing a car from Hyundai. I tried to trade it in to lease another. That was as entire fiasco (be careful if you lease from them, they charge you to bring it back at end of lease). So I just decided to buy out my lease and keep my current car. I called one dealership. They said payoff is $14845.63. I called another dealership. That one said payoff is $15845.63, so I called another one. They said payoff is $14845.63 and 728.01 for the paperwork. $728.01 for paperwork!!! No. I get $14845.63, send it to the lease payment center and they send me the title, I take that title to the BMV and I pay them the tax on the $14845.63, get a new registration and the title is put in my name and sent to my new lienholder. Why would I pay $728.01 for 2 pieces of paper? Just be careful dealing with this company and the dealerships. I did it one time and I will never do it again.

They have held my title for 4+ months with no resolution! Ridiculous and terrible customer service. I am now stuck in the middle of trying to get this title to my new creditor because they have hung up and wont respond to my new creditor. They hang up on them. Despite the address on the back of the check, the letter, and subsequent 2 letters petitioning for them to send the title from April of 2020 nothing has still been done. Even upon contacting them today, via phone, they say its stuck, Ill send an email to my supervisor and the title division to get the title sent. So ridiculous. Hyundai should be aware, that at least for me, this will keep me from ever using their finance arm again and as many of their deals are if you purchase through them itll definitely drive me to another brand.

Hyundai finance called Sat. morning, & left a message to call them immediately. By the time I got home & saw the message, I called my daughter in NJ. She was at work. When she got the message, she called & tried to make a payment, but they were closed & she was not able to make the payment. Her car was removed on Sun. morning. We now have to pay over $1500.00 in payment & fees. She had been out of work a long time, & is bipolar, under drs. care now. We are retired & on fixed income. This is a blow to all of us, since they do not accept payments on Sat.

Over a month ago I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs and Hyundai National Consumer Affairs regarding my 2016 Elantra Value Edition. My car was manufactured at the Alabama plant and I have had problems with the car since I purchased it. The problems began with the dealer not prepping the car for delivery and also not documenting all my trips back to the service department beginning the day after I purchased. The manager of the dealership titled my car in the wrong state, refused to listen to me and then also refused to honor the dealers price guarantee and return policy. It took a year for the dealer to check the alignment and I still have a steering problem.Within 10 months and 7000 miles, my interior began falling apart. Panel covers detaching and rattles and squeaks. Exterior items also detaching. The hood misaligned/warped. I made 5 trips to the dealer in Florida to get 1 panel cover repaired, 2 visits they refused to document: 1 visit I had an appointment and the system was down, the other trip the adviser refused to document and made an appointment for the following week. The parts were ordered in Ohio and it was a struggled to have them installed. The screws/connectors that hold the wheel well liner, front bumper cover and the engine splash guard came loose and came off while I traveled from Florida to Ohio. The splash guard and wheel liner came down and dragged under the car. I got off the highway and pulled them back in place and secured them temporarily. The mechanic said I am lying and that I hit something. I did not, but most certainly dragged something from the road as I exited the highway.Hyundai sent their district rep to the dealer. He did an inspection, however did not look at the interior as he claimed all the detaching panels are to OEM specs. I have photos that show otherwise. He also claimed to have checked my wipers and that there was no clunk nor the blade hitting the frame. I have a video that shows it does. Hyundai refuses to acknowledge the fact that their cars manufactured in the USA require different replacement parts and the cars are different. They refuse to repair my car. They kept my car 5 days for paperwork leaving me stranded and unable to travel.

I recently purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and I was sold a higher model which cost me an additional $1,700 + taxes as I required the Bluetooth technology for my cell phone as I conduct work in my car. I was assured it works with all cell phone models and after purchasing the vehicle, the option does not work with my Blackberry 9900. After researching the issue, it is a known problem that Hyundai Canada is aware of. Despite contacting them and sending in a formal complaint to their customer relations department, they refuse to do anything to remedy the situation. I’m very dissatisfied and I will never recommend a Hyundai to anyone I know. I am disappointed with the fact that the product doesnt work (doesnt synch). But what is more upsetting is that they simply brush me off and refuse to find me a suitable solution. I will be forced to go purchase a new device and incur additional charges (~$700) just so I am able to use their Bluetooth technology with a phone model that their product is compatible with.

Had no knowledge of the Azera when I first saw the car but after a test drive comparison with the Sonata it seemed more substantial and luxurious. I have leased over eight cars in my lifetime but the Azera limited was the first that I purchased at the end of a lease. The Azera limited had many factory installed options and safety features that were standard along with the Hyundai warranty made the Azera limited the obvious choice.

VIN # **. We recently returned a leased 2016 Tucson, the lease was for 3 years. A letter from Hyundai, dated 13 June 2019, stated that we owed over $1100 on this Tucson. The main cause of this costs is apparently a very small, about a 1 inch “star” chip in the left headlight area. To most people the car looked almost new. If this charge stands you have a VERY dissatisfied customer. Before this outlandish charge you had a very satisfied customer.

With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.

I called the Florida DMV. The DMV - nothing had been SENT!!! One more thing, FLORIDA IS ONE those states where they don’t accept OTHER STATES REGISTRATION.
