Purchased car new in March 2013. Had towed to shop for repairs when brakes failed in May 2013. Received car back in June 2013. Car ran well, battery charged correctly and all was good for awhile. Car started to shudder/jerk a little at takeoffs from a stop again. Light and sporadic. August more frequent, September it worsened and October it had gotten bad again. End of October 2013, left my home and the car shuddered at start and went about 60 ft to stop sign again and breaks locked up solid, no lights or warnings on dash. It happened again at third stop sign! (still with-in two blocks of home). Forget the errand now just have to get it home and call for tow. Pulled out into highway in left turn so I can get home easily, and car stops locked up solid in middle of turn and road. Loaded log truck heading towards me and I cannot get car to move. Took several stomps on accelerator peddle to get it to finally crawl forward. Crash avoided but the grill filled the entire passenger window and then some. Got car home and towed to dealership the following Monday morning the 4th of November 2013. Dealership said they could not duplicate, but had huge data software upgrade for car. This was supposed to be done the first time. I told them on Monday I was not getting back into car period. Now in contact and waiting just a few more days before formal full-out legal battle begins. Hyundai has known about this life threatening safety issue for years and instead of fixing has only made it worse. Do your research before buying. I will be doing a lot more in-depth search prior any future purchase.

I was in a car accident yesterday. I hit a deer head on going 70 mph. My airbag never deployed and the deer took out my entire front and shoved the engine or engine block back. The car (2010 Hyundai Elantra) is being totaled and no one can tell me why the air bag did not deploy. I spent the morning in the ER and have a concussion, bruises and pain from the impact of hitting the steering wheel. I called Hyundai and they want me to fill out an information packet for them. The car has only been serviced by a Hyundai dealer. First responders to tow truck drivers cannot believe the airbag did not work.

I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The steering wheel locks (and clamps down electronically where you have to be strong to turn wheel to turn key) and I cant start the car. I need another person to turn the steering wheel because it locks so hard. I have been stranded twice where I needed help. Hyundai wont stand behind fixing it. They say it is the way it is designed. Something should be done about it. I had it in service a few times. I have a car that will not run. And when it does, it has the roughest ride of any car I ever had, especially on the freeways. I am 87 years old and between the rough ride and now this starting problem, Im very upset that I have to fight to get my money back. This should be a recall item. What do we do? Doesnt implied warranty state that I will get a car that I can start and that I wouldnt be stranded in 105 deg. heat like I did? It is a serious health and safety Issue.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. Stay away from Southtowne Hyundai!

On January 8, 2012, I leased a 2012 Sonata. Today is January 21, 2012, the car has 460 miles on the odometer. Today is also the first snow day of the season. At 5 oclock this morning, while traveling approximately 20-25 mph on level ground, I was approaching a red light. The brakes locked and the car started sliding. I tried pumping them but kept sliding.Luckily there was no one in front of me. I released the brake while. sliding into the intersection so I could have more control of the vehicle, turning the corner to avoid incoming traffic. Ive been driving for 39 years, since I was 18 years old. I was not speeding. (To be continued, after a visit with service dept. at South Shore Hyundai / Valley Stream, NY)

I have a 2009 Sonata with about 55,000 miles on it. I went to start my engine to go to work on a Monday morning and nothing would work. So, I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership. This was when I found out that Hyundai has zero customer service. I had to call them every day for 2 weeks. They would never call me, and the only thing they would say is, we havent started yet, were waiting for an investigator from corporate to come in and look at it. I finally got someone to tell me what the problem was. They said there was an oil leak and that the motor seized. Another week goes by and they said that it was my fault. I asked why was it my fault, I did not build the engine. They said that its company policy and they quoted me $16,696 to fix it. The brand new car was cheaper. The reason I bought this car in the first place was for this amazing warranty they claim so much, which I found out is one of the worst in coverages around. I can guarantee out of all my friends and family, no one will ever buy that crappy brand again.

We have had the 2014 Elantra a year which we bought directly from Woodland Hills Hyundai dealer. It wasnt cheap, as with the extended warranty of 100,000 miles it came to $24,000. We were never told the car did not come with a spare tire. We spent the evening of fathers day being towed back to the dealer and missing our plans because we got a flat tire. The response I was given as its like this in all the cars now. I know that isnt true, because we also bought a Toyota and Nissan which have spare tires. For a company that prides itself on safety, not having a spare or informing the purchase that there is no spare, is not ok!!! The car drives fine, but this to me reflects very poor customer service.

Last year we experienced a flat tire and when my spouse went to change it there was no spare, only a compressor and slime unit. Well little did we know but we had a slit in sidewall of tire from a pothole, so that was useless. When I called Hyundai Roadside Assurance, they said they would tow it to the nearest dealer which is 40 or so miles away, we wanted it towed 6 miles down the road. So we had to pay $100 for a tow. Last Tuesday we had a flat tire and had no jack to take it off to have it repaired, so we put air in tire and drove it to our repair shop and had it plugged. Today we went to Garvey Hyundai in Plattsburgh, NY and took slime air canister into dealership and asked why they do not tell customers that their 2012 Elantra Limited do not come with a spare or jack. We also stated that we were going to have to get AAA Roadside Assistance since we had to tow car to nearest dealer 40+ miles away if we wanted to use our roadside assurance with them. They hurried us into a room with a service manager whom informed us this was policy to make cars get better gas mileage, by having no tire or jacks. They were willing to sell us a spare donut tire on rim with jack for $298 +, which my spouse said no way. But they did give us a free car wash, which car was still filthy after it came out. Well hopefully, our next purchase next year from an American automaker will have a spare tire, jack and roadside assistance to our local garage if needed.

I bought a 2010 Hyundai Sonata new. The first piece of plastic to break was the sunglasses holder. Then the cover for the mirror on the drivers side, the center console clip broke, 4 door handles. The last one I bought 1 month ago, and it broke today. I paid $154 for this one. My husband and I are retired so we are not rough on this vehicle.

My experience with Hyundai is once again worst than the last. It is my 3rd disappointment with them and last, I just came out of a 3 year lease and decided I wanted to buy the car and instead of showing me my options through Hyundai Finance which I was leasing with they convinced me with lies about how being I didnt use the car much, I would have to pay more and convinced me to go with Chase auto loan, after a few days I called Hyundai Finance and the person on the phone told me, I should have bought through them which would have been close to 8k less, through Hyundai finance it would have ranged around 9k plus maybe 3k in taxes and instead now I will end up paying close to 18k.It is my 3rd and final deal with them, no one there is honest and they are out just to rob you, I should have gone with my gut and listened to my cousin and end my lease and bought through Carvana, I wish I knew the info I got from the person on the phone earlier but I thought I was dealing with honest people, anyways God bless them and everyone reading this and make sure you always ask all the right questions and if you have to take time or reschedule to review things before you commit to it or sign documents, do so, so you dont get trapped and tricked like I did.

My experience with Rick Case Hyundai in Duluth, GA was extremely horrible. I went in on Wednesday to trade in my very good condition 2007 Lexus GS 350 for a 2012 black on black Veloster. At first, Mr. ** wanted me to pay $1500 out of pocket for the car which was a no deal. So after hours of negotiating, we finally agreed on a title for a title. Then he tells me the car will be here on Friday. Friday came and went, and still no car. After waiting around all weekend, the car finally comes on Monday. But unfortunately the car interior was red! I was then talked into keeping the car to see if the red interior would grow on me. Two days later, I brought the car back because it did not grow on me. I asked Mr. ** that if they could change the interior color to black and he said they could for $1500. I politely told him no because it was not my fault that the wrong color car was ordered. Two hours later, I asked for my Lexus and the title back, and he said okay but I would have to pay a restocking and reconditioning fee of $599. I called my lawyer immediately and was informed that was ** and the dealership was only trying to make money off of me. After being constantly lied to and haggled, I told him no and patiently waited another hour for the keys to my Lexus. As a military veteran I was hurt, disappointed and highly ** that the Rick Case Hyundai of Duluth, GA would give me such a hard time of simply changing the interior of a car that they wrongly ordered! Buying a car is supposed to be a great experience, but it was a nightmare. I hope Steven ** does not continue to take advantage of people and especially, veterans.

Bought a brand new car 2014 Forte. Humble Hyundai will not fix or replace it. What is the use of having a new car when you cant drive it due to a knot on the back tire? I travel every other weekend to take care of a family member. I cant do that with this tire. They do not want to even help, they say we got to pay for it out of our pocket. I think that is wrong, I gave them a nice Kia with nothing wrong, they gave me a tire with a knot on it. If your car is new with warranty, dont you think they would replace but no.So whoever reads this please do not go to Hyundai dealer in Humble TX that is in Houston off of 1960. I went to a different one, they got bought out so the car I was going to buy Humble Hyundai bought them so theyre not going to be even better. Kia in Baytown was lot better when I bought our Kia Soul. We just outgrow it. I need to get a tire so I can go help a grandma. Im like a caretaker. When the kids need a break with them not helping, its hard to get someone else. We only have these Kia Forte, his truck is down right so we got 2014 car that cant drive due to a Nexen tire. Thanks.

We purchased a new 2011 Hyundai Sonata in 2012 from the dealership. We actually purchased it for our college students, however, my husband and I liked it so much that, we gave them one of our other cars to drive instead, and kept the Sonata for ourselves. We have told many people how much we liked the value of the Sonata, in price, appearance, reliability and gas consumption. Because we liked it so much, we decided on another Hyundai, and bought a beautiful 2014 black Hyundai Genesis. We have honestly been considering an additional purchase of another Hyundai Sonata for our youngest son. However, our glowing opinion has been cut short. At 98,000 miles, the Sonata began making funny knocking sounds. We took it into our trusted mechanic, and he tested everything, including codes and found nothing. Nor did the knocking continue while he was testing. So I could not recreate the issue. We went on our merry way, oblivious to the impending disaster. At 106,000 miles, the Sonata began stalling out, with the knocking sound returning. I brought it to my husbands attention and by the next morning, when we went to take it to the mechanic, the car would not make it. The engine kept stalling. We took it to the mechanic and he did his diagnostics and announced the engine was shot and he could either replace or we could have it towed to Hyundai dealership to see what they could do with it, possibly offer some assistance. We had it towed to the dealership, and they announced that they would have to submit a request to Hyundai dealership - to see what could be done about a new engine. At first, the dealership said the manufacturer would do nothing to help. We went back and forth, in the hopes that they would re-consider (knowing that we were loyal Hyundai customers). Hyundai responded that if the dealership installed a used-30K mile engine, then they would not offer any discounts or warranties and that would cost us $7500. However, if they were to install a rebuilt from scratch engine, then they would install for $4500. We are heartbroken. Our Hyundai is due to be paid off in November, and now we are faced with a $4500 out of pocket expense and still waiting to hear if there is a warranty for the repair. My husband is meticulous with his cars. We have four cars - A Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, a Hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Genesis. We had hoped to add a 5th - (another Sonata for our son), but that will not be happening now. Its dishonest to not reveal this catastrophic failure on the part of Hyundai engineering. And we actually selected the Genesis over the Infiniti and Audi - comparable models. I understand there are two class action lawsuits re: the seizing of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and other new models. If a contemporary car cannot beat the 100,000 mile test, then you should spend your money on another company, like Toyota, that will go the distance. Both our Armada and Toyotas have over 150,000 miles and still going strong and running beautifully. Good luck to anyone considering a Hyundai purchase, Im sorry to report...

I bought brand new Sunday Tucson on February 3, 2018 in Keyes Hyundai Van Nuys. I drove about 2k miles when I started experiencing high noises, something like buzzing sound that was getting louder with accelerating. When first did the drive test, I was impressed how easy the car does drive, well it got worse when I started using it. Very unstable on highway, you can feel any crack on the surface you drive on, pretty loud inside. But getting to my issue, first I took it to check the tires, I was advised that it might be wheels bearing. Then took it to service, they have very odd hours and there is always empty there. They will not take you on Saturday for diagnostic either, so they did check my car and happened to be that the car transmission failed. Wow right after 2k, very unusual, anyways they got me loaner from Hertz and promised to get me the car in 3 days. I will be posting and blogging about this more. I feel I got lemon and more issues are going to happen. Very unsatisfied customer.

Key fob falls off a lot. Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. Hyundai is comfortable, gives a smooth ride and handles well. It has low maintenance obligations though it has high mileage. Seats are high to support knee issues. Love the heated seats and back seat temperature control. The 3rd row seating is handy for road trips with the grand kids. The sun roof was also a must for me and the grands! I got the most amenities without an exorbitant additional cost. However, it doesnt have Bluetooth or a back up camera. I also would like a steering wheel that heated up and that the 3rd row seats are raised up higher off the floor. Theyre so low that theyre only appropriate for small children. Nevertheless, its the best vehicle Ive ever owned!

Don’t Buy it and waste your time and money! I lease Hyundai Tucson on December 2018. The car was running perfect for 3 months. The start showing same problem over and over, the problem is happened often but in not continuous manner. The problem is:1. If the car off, once you insert the key in ignition, the key stuck and not turn the car on. After 15 to 30 minutes the car back to normal.2. If the car on ... suddenly the maintenance light, the turned on, the AC turned off, the front left signal off, the engine overheated and when you turn the car off the key stuck in ignition. The issue continue happened almost once a week for 30 minutes and then disappeared and back running normal. I took one of my vacation day and took it to the dealer. I explained the issue in detail, he said as far as the issue not continues he can diagnose it.“People who create car cannot identify issue and leave you with possibility to stuck in the middle of nowhere of that issue happened ... funny right”. Every time the issue happening I called hyundai to come pick up the car and find out what’s going out and give me a loaner car since my work required a car all time —- customer service, case manager reject my request. Last time the issue cont. so I called the road side assistance. They took it to the dealer. The car was in repair for three days. Hyundai did not give me a loaner car and they offer the max reimbursement for rental car $38/day... that offer after I had a case # with them and two days after I was without car ... in NYC is impossible. The min car rental is $60/day in NYC and that for smaller car than the Tucson. The dealer claim that he fix it by replacing the ignition. 30 minutes after I pick the car up and on my way back the issue is happened again for 30 mins... Again back to same hyundai concept cannot identify their car issued .... funny. That would be the last car I buy or lease from hyundai. Except if you wanna ride a car with a fancy shape but 20 yrs old keep showing problems.

I purchased my 2016 Tucson on 1/18/2016. For the first few weeks it was a dream. It did not take it long til my car would not back out of my garage even though it was in reverse. I finally got it to move backwards after being in reverse for 15 minutes. I called the service department and they told me to bring it in and let them check it out. I did as I was asked and they said they had put it on the computer and there were no problems found. They had a service rep. drive it and it shifted just fine.Fast forward to 2/4/2016, I was sitting at a traffic light and when the light turned green, I gave the car gas and it just sat there. I was stuck for about 20 minutes before it started moving forward. (The people behind me were not nice.) When it did move forward, it just crept. Then it lunged forward almost making me hit the car in front of me. I once again took my car into the dealership and they gave me a rental so they could once again “check out my problem.” Once again, they could not make my car duplicate what it did with me. They said they had not heard of this problem before.I am handicapped and not able to drive myself very often. In the next four months, the same problem appeared when 4 other people were driving my car. I had to make 2 trips to the doctor in New Orleans and prayed that we would not have any trouble. Too much to ask!! Had the same problems in New Orleans. I have over 5,000 miles on my car of which are about 3,000 mine. The rest were put on with the Service Department driving it. I left my car again on 7/14/2016. Today is 7/31/2016 and they still have my car. I told them I did not want it back until it was fixed. They gave me a rental car that I can hardly get out of due to my disability. I am to pick up a SUV tomorrow. Corporate called me and asked me to explain to them what was happening and I did. This was on 7/20/2016 and they told me they would get back in touch with me within 3-4 working days. I have not heard from them. I have to have to make notes each month and have no car. BUYER BEWARE!!!

The battery in my leased 2015 Hyundai Sonata wont hold its charge. Purchased in October of 2015 about 8000 miles and about six months into the lease the vehicle failed to start repeatedly. This went on through September of 2016 with the vehicle having to be towed to the Dealerships shop approximately every few weeks to every two months... I grew increasingly frustrated and angry about the Dealerships inability to identify the problem. Eventually I filed a lemon lawsuit against Hyundai Motors and a small settlement was paid in December of 2016. The vehicle had just come out of the shop 9/26/16 (11 days) before! I breathed a sigh of relief when for over six weeks the vehicle continued to start (it appeared that the problem had actually been resolved). THEN on the morning of 1/17 of this year when I got in the car to drive to work it failed to start... it was in the shop through 1/30... again on 3/18 and has been in the shop since then while the Dealership continues to labor over the origin of the malfunction (which even Hyundai engineers have not been able to figure out). I am grateful that the Dealership has worked diligently to make sure that at least I am given a renter or loaner vehicle. I am no longer going back and forth having the car towed to the Dealership shop. I insisted that I be allowed keep the loaner until Hyundai Motors buys the car back from me. Fortunately, the Service Manager has been very sympathetic to my circumstance and hardship and has agreed to allow me to drive their loaner (a 2017 Sonata). Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience with the Manufacturer Hyundai. Eight days after my initial contact with them (3/20) I am told that I must communicate with their legal division through an attorney... I am just livid!!! The Consumer Affairs Division of Hyundai Motors fails to provide accurate and timely important information, fails to return call as promised, and is extremely negligent in the instance of documenting the details of the Ticket the department creates. NOW... I am forced to communicate with an attorney for a second time. Had a check engine light on a 09 sonata with 47k miles. Also noticed gas comes out of tank when filling up. Went to dealer for checkup and advised that this part is not under warranty. Also spoke to Hyundai 800 6315151 with no help. Checked youtube, seems like a common problem with Hyundai. Bill to fix is $700. Hyundai lied again regarding warranty just like they did with gas mileage.

My 2011 Hyundai Sonata died on me last night while driving home on the 210 Fwy without any warning whatsoever. AAA towed it to Parkway Hyundai in Valencia, CA. I received a call today from the dealership telling me I need a new engine. Although my car has 150,000 miles on it, they are mostly easy highway miles and I have not had any mechanical issues up to now. I regularly have maintenance done to the vehicle. I am furious after reading numerous complaints from other 2011 Hyundai Sonata owners with the same problem and Hyundai not accepting any responsibility.

I should have known better. I was a career car reporter, now retired, and I had seen first-hand the quality issues with Hyundai. But reviews like those in Consumer Reports convinced me things had changed, so I purchased a new Elantra GT in Canada in 2005 with a 5-year warranty. As I was retired, the car sat in the driveway mainly and that was part of the problem. More mileage would have unveiled the problems quicker. As delivered from the dealer, a brake light was missing and the alignment was off. I had my own mechanic fix these at my cost. I also had the car rust-proofed with oil spray as Korean steel is known to rust quickly. (Did not help, door seams and hatch rusted anyway.) Engine head gasket failed within 3 months and dealer botched the repair. I complained to Hyundai Canada and the engine was taken apart a second time, repair done correctly but the engine pinged after that, meaning that the compression ratio had been altered in the repair. Mirrors froze but I fixed the controller myself with WD40. Radio died, I upgraded it. Brakes vibrated but I fixed it myself with custom rotors rather than fight the dealer. Finally, dealer went under and disappeared. A month after the warranty expired, so did my steering rack. 25,000 miles on the car in 5 years and the rack blew. My mechanic put a new one for $1,700 in and that lasted 3 months. Extensive research on the net in chat groups and I found blown racks a common problem in the model. And the replacements fail because, allegedly, they are stored outdoors in Korea and the seals dry out. I sued Hyundai in Small Claims. Did they send a lawyer? No. Did they try to settle or fix the car? No. They sent the head of the central (head office) Parts Dept. who lied under oath to the judge about my attempts to resolve the issue. I won, but got rid of the car. Trade in for a 5-year old 2005 Elantra GT with 25000 miles, new brakes, new Michelins, upgraded radio, and needing a rack? $3,000. (Paid $20,000 five years earlier). Ugh.

I have experienced one of the lowest quality customer care and service from the customer service department of Hyundai USA. I have cases open with them for the past 4 months. I am following up with the customer service department every week, and I have received a very poor unresponsive service from this department. Do not recommend this car manufacturer if you care about (and expect to receive) quality customer care and service.

My wife purchased a 2006 NEW Hyundai Sonata. We have always been avid AM News Listeners and from day 1 the radio was worse than Poor for AM. We complained and complained and all they ever said was that the antenna in the rear window was a poor design for an antenna and that was the problem. Well, my wife just purchased a New 2014 Hyundai Sonata and I took the 2006 - since I drive far less miles annually - and now I was determined to get to the problem. When I would drive the car sometimes going over a bump on the road would instantly increase the radios reception but it would last then go back to crappy again. Sometimes as I would start the car and back out of the garage the reception would be great - then 5 minutes later it was back to crap. One day, in the garage, as I was backing out - the reception was jumping back and forth from Poor - Good - Poor to Good - so I whacked the dashboard over the radio with my hand and there was DEAD SILENCE. I turned the car off and then back on and the radio came on but with the typical Weak reception.I purchase the Haynes/Chilton Auto Repair Guide, for the 2006 Hyundai as well a CD Hyundai Shop Manuals, and watched several YouTube videos on how to remove the radio. With the radio removed and exposed - but connected - I started wiggling/moving the antenna cable around and sure enough the reception would go to Great - Poor - and NONE. As I was holding the radio with one hand and changing the station with the other hand I also noticed that if my hand squeezed or put pressure on the top and bottom of the radio - on the Antenna connection side - (in order to hold the radio) the Reception might also go from Great to Poor to None.I could see that the antenna cable connector was CHEAP looking with the center core of the cable soldered - but the Ground wires were crimped and DID NOT look there was a good connection. So I went to Radio Shack and purchased another Motorola Antenna Connector and re-did the connection to the cable. With the radio still exposed and the antenna cable connected with the new Radio Shack connector the radio sounded great. And squeezing didnt seem to have any effect as before. So I put the radio back in and left the pods on the sides of the radio disconnected - temporarily. The measured depth of the New Radio Shack Connector was slightly Longer than the original Cable Connector so it was putting some pressure on the cable and the connection and the radio began to act -up again when installed so I removed the radio (which removed the pinching pressure on the cable) and the radio worked fine.So now it is possible that there is a bad connection, internally, on the Female part of the Antenna cable connection to the radio. I tested the continuity for the Ground and hot points to the cable connection - while I had the radio out and they tested OK - but the test was not under a pressure stress, either. So the bottom line is that Hyundai Continues to LIE and ** about the AM Radio Problems with the 2006 Sonatas. Unlike the most recent excuse from Hyundai Service at Lester Glenn in Toms River, New Jersey, the problem is NOT with the Rear Window-Designed Antenna - its the cheap Connectors, Crappy Radios and the ** Service people who dont want to do their job of fixing your car under warranty. My wife took out the 100,000 miles / 10 year Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty with Hyundai when she bought the car so now - After 6-8 Hours of MY TIME and the expenses to buy workshop materials - I am going to raise Hell with Hyundai USA!

On two occasions during the past three months the battery in my 2011 Sonata Hybrid with 31000 miles has had to be jumpstarted by AAA. After the last incident last week I took the car to the dealer where the car was purchased and the battery was shown to be in perfect condition. I was told that if the dead battery problem occurs again, I should not jump-start the car, but have the car towed in to the dealer for diagnosis. Obviously an electrical problem exists, and towing the car to a Hyundai dealer will obviously be a problem, particularly if I am out of town on a weekend. I dont believe that I should have to bear the cost of travel to my home or hotel costs because of a problem due to a Hyundai fault. Because of this problem, I cannot risk travelling out of town. Please give me some advice to deal with my dilemma. Apart from the MPG issue which I have accepted, THIS is a SAFETY matter that requires a response.

I am writing to complain about a manufacturing defect I have since I bought
I am writing to complain about a manufacturing defect I have since I bought a brand new Verna 1500cc in 2006 from Ghabbour in Egypt. The level of motor oil goes to minimum after 2000 to 3000 km. With no reason, the car was sent 3 times to Ghabbour main centers in Abourawash an Kaliuob and each time, it took them between 2 to 5 days. They said it was fixed but the defect is still there. I have no hope in Ghabbour and I stopped going there after I reached 50,000 (warranty) with no fix of the defect. I got a feedback from the market that during 2005-2006, Verna local production had this oil defect and the solution is replacing the motor, but they did not do that and let me suffer. Until now, I have to check the motor oil each 2000 km and add more oil to avoid motor problems. 10 days ago, I had another shock with a Hyundai service center in Egypt. I went for a major maintenance (with changing all fuel tube tree) but after I took the car, I found a problem in acceleration. I went back to them and they told me that a motor sensor need replacement. I went to another non-Hyundai general service center and they told me that the fuel tube tree was fixed in a wrong way, and this has no relation to the motor sensor. Now, I have no trust in Hyundai in Egypt. Even though I want to sell the car, I found out that I will have to go down 20% less than the market price because of the manufacturing defect it has as it needs a new motor. So I have lost my money and my time because of my wrong choice by choosing to buy this measurable car, and now I am experiencing acceleration problems because of the Hyundai service centers bad quality in fixing the fuel tree. It is very disappointing and frustrating to have this experience. I met a service manager in Audi who advised me to write to Hyundai HQ about this, and i am doing it now with no hope after all what I have experienced in the last 5 years with Hyundai in Egypt. During the last 3 years, when somebody asked me about what car to buy, I strongly recommended to not go for Hyundai in Egypt as if the car will have a manufacturing defect, it will not be fixed and you will be losing tour time, money and even safety. This is based on my experience and other peoples experience when I met them in Hyundais main service center during the 3 times I sent the car there to fix the manufacturing defect during 2006-2008. Again, with no hope, I am writing this and hope that this will make you be aware about the bad practice by Ghabbour here in Egypt; that one day will affect you sooner or later. I will help in building a community for customers who suffered from Hyundai in Egypt to bring the real image of Hyundai in Egypt to people who are thinking about buying a Hyundai in Egypt.

If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen
If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen carefully. I have always leased my cars. Ford, Volvo, Saab, etc. Ive NEVER had an issue with a leasing company, process has been flawless. Hyundai Financial has been an absolute nightmare. At lease end, Hyundai send out a 3rd party to look over your car. There is no wear and tear allowed for a 3-year lease. The 3rd party company spends 1 1/2 hrs going over your car with a magnifying glass (true!) and then hands you a bill for $3,000. If there is a pen mark on your seats, then you have to replace the entire fabric on all the seats. They then tell you that this is just a guide for you to get things fixed and this will never go to Hyundai. Thats a lie. We took the car to have the ridiculous list addressed, spent hundreds of dollars getting tiny scratches out, the pen mark on the fabric (there were no dents, tires were brand new, under mileage, etc.), and faxed over the complete report to Hyundai. The car was in such perfect condition that when we turned it in, the dealership leasing manager called the sales manager and said they needed to buy this car. A month later, we get the $3,000 bill from Hyundai. They DO NOT send someone out to look over the car after the work is done. They go completely off the original work their 3rd party sends them. We submitted our receipts 3 times and they told us they didnt like the wording on our invoices and suggested we wrote it ourselves! I said feel free to call the company that we paid hundreds of dollars to who worked on our car 3 days. The detail shop called us, said Hyundai was extremely rude, and that was the end of that. Three months later, on Christmas Eve morning, we get a call from a collection agency that says we owe $3,000. We now have to hire an attorney. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!

Second week after purchase, the rpm needle dropped below 500 rpm a few times almost stalling the engine, then rough idle. I took it to the shop. Diagnostic said they found nothing. The 2nd time in was for abnormal rough idle, when in drive at a stop or when air con on. I had sales rep, finance mgr. and service mgr. involved with getting a resolve. I was told nothing was found. The third time, car was worse. I had sales rep and service mgr. both sit in the car to experience what I was talking about. The service mgr. took the car for a ride, came back and said, Yes, there is a problem (even a passenger can feel the vibration). But I was told by the service mgr. when picking up the car that Hyundai is aware of situation and that some Elantras out there would have rougher idle than others. This was characteristic of the car and that if they can find a solution for it later on down the road, I would be contacted. Does this make sense? Really?! I had the general mgr. (Mike **) at McCafferty Hyundai contact corp. yesterday, 4/26. I was told that they dont have an answer and if they find one, they will let me know. I was promised great service and the world, but have had frustration to the point of not sleeping. We purchased this car coming out of a used one so that we would not have any issues for a few years. If they are aware of this as Don ** (service mgr.) told me that Hyundai Corp. Service tech told him, why cant I get satisfaction? I feel like I got ripped off big time. We even purchased the extended warranty. All I get now is, Im sorry, there is nothing we can do at this time. My intelligence is undermined by saying to consider it part of the characteristics of the car. What kind of product are they putting out there? The greatest frustration of it all is that the rentals I had every time the car was in the shop were the same cars and none had this issue, and I even told them this. I just want my car fixed or find me one that does not have this issue. My first payment is coming up and I dont know what to do. Keep making payments on a car that malfunctions? I was told that they could probably trade me out of the car, but that now, its considered a used car. Is that crazy? I lose no matter what. Help me please!

I purchased my 2005 Hyundai Tuscon new from the Kolar Hyundai dealership based primarily on the advertised warranty coverage of 10 years and 100,000 miles bumper-to-bumper as they advertised it (it’s still under a warranty plus program which I did have to pay for). Since then my Tuscon is in need of a bearing replacement on the left rear tire (it has seized). When I called the dealership, I was told they would not tow the vehicle or repair it without me covering all the costs. My warranty is currently at no cost to me for repairs or towing. I was told to call the Hyundai warranty number. The lady I spoke to informed me that if it was an American-made vehicle, it would be covered since bumper-to-bumper means that. But since it is a Hyundai and the rear wheels are not drive wheels, it is not covered after 60,000 miles. I asked her again why Hyundai is not honoring their advertised bumper-to-bumper warranty. Again, I was told it is because Hyundai is not an American-made vehicle (assuming she meant a vehicle made by Ford or other American vehicle corporations). I am now forced to incur all costs for repairs since Hyundais trickery (erroneous advertising) has forced me to, especially in a tough economy.

I bought this car when it was 3 yrs old and had it for 2 yrs. I noticed the engine took a long time to start and just got worst. When I took it in for a service they found the head gasket had blown. This is on a 5 yr old car! Whats worse is the warranty had just run out by a couple of weeks. I rang up Hyundai but they wouldnt repair it under warranty or goodwill since it just run out. You dont expect a head gasket to blow on a car this age. This is more common on very old cars with high mileage. Considering this is a very unusual thing to happen and with its warranty just run out you would expect Hyundai to fix it for me or at least pay some of the cost. The cost to fix it is just under a £1000 and the car is only worth £5000 :(

Grandson leased a 2013 Elantra while attending college. He was late with his Dec 2013 payment and called to let me know. I called Hyundai and told them I would make the payment. The representative advised me that the January 2014 would be coming due in a short time. I asked her if she could cancel the auto draw (that we had setup) and I would just go and make both payment (as the new semester was starting and there wold be books to buy) but I would only do this if she could guarantee that the account would not be double-billed. She assured me that she was taking care of that as we were speaking and that it would not happen. You can see where this is going. My grandson called me today and informed me that Hyundai had drawn another payment (for January 2014). When I called Hyundai they said that the girl I had talked to had obviously overstepped her bounds (???). I told them that if I knew they could not stop the payment draw, I would have just my the December payment and then transferred the January payment into his checking accounts. When I asked about getting the draw reversed, they said (ready for this) it would take a minimum of 15 DAYS. I told them never mind, just leave it for the February payment. I have already turned off their auto draw and will now subject them to snail mail once a month. When the lease runs out no more Hyundai.

When I checked on it, I was told the tech could not figure out what was causing the light to stay on. According to the service writer, they will have to check it one component at a time. I would like to tell you about the service I received Hyundai in Downingtown, PA. I recently took my 2013 Hyundai Tucson for an oil change and state inspection which I was impress of how quickly it was taken care of. They provided great service and I was happy to return for more service. Due to a poor wheel alignment the service department had recommended that I replace my rear driver tire so that my car can pass inspection. When I left the dealership I heard a loud noise from the back tires. At first I thought it was from a wheel alignment that they recommended I needed. During the week, I notice the noise getting much louder to the point where I felt it was unsafe to drive. I went online to see if there was an appointment available but there wasnt so I decided to go to my local Firestone to get a second opinion. I described the noise and how a wheel alignment was recommended. During their inspection, they discovered that my new tire that was replaced by Hyundai was extremely loose and only hand tighten. I am so disappointed because I really thought I received great service especially being the end of the day but instead my life was at risk. I seen it for myself how the lugs were only hand tighten and the wheel shook by touch. This is my second Hyundai vehicle and second Hyundai dealership that Ive dealt with and I was never disappointed until now. I was able to speak to the service manager which he kindly took the time to see the vehicle. In return of risking my life he offered a complimentary oil change and to speak with the mechanic who worked on my vehicle because apparently thats what my life is worth. I will never trust the service of Hyundai again. I can only hope they will learn from this situation so that other customers will not be at risk.

I bought a brand-new Hyundai Tucson 2014 with 83 miles. After 4 months and a torrential rain all my books in the left-rear passenger side floorboard, were soaked. I went to the Decatur Alabama dealership and they cleaned the water out. Long story short the Hyundai dealership has (1) replaced seals around the door, (2) sealed the roof railings, (3) resealed the roof railings. (4) the Hyundai Motor Corporation called in LEAK PRO guaranteed 1 yr not to leak. 11 months later after torrential rains, the back floorboard left passenger side was full of water. I have sent a certified Alabama Lemon Law letter and called BBB Auto Line asking for replacement. I know one person with the same issue with the same results. Anyone else out there? May go to arbitration. I am waiting on Hyundai to call me.

I was involved in a collision yesterday with my 2012 model iX35. My car was severely damaged on the left front and side bumper, the hood was mangled on the left side, and windscreen slightly cracked. The electronics box was damaged to the point where no electronics worked on the vehicle so I couldnt even close windows or start the car. In retrospect after contemplating the resultant damage, I have to say that I was most impressed with how much impact the front-left-end of the vehicle withstood and how this area was designed to take most of the impact of the collision without the driver (myself) being harmed in any way. Im a little stiff and still post-traumatized as this was my first accident - however - inside the vehicle everything was solid and in place. The airbags did not pop - which is a good sign as this shows that the vitals in the engine were not harmed due to the collision. Although I still have to receive the results of the assessment to the damage - I can only say I felt incredibly safe in the vehicle. Im still trying to fathom how little impact I felt in the vehicle - no whiplash or moving forward abruptly. Im most impressed.

Hyundai prides itself in its reliability. I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata I purchased in March of 2010. I have had nothing but problems. Within the first year, my engine began overheating due to a faulty radiator fan. This was replaced under warranty. Less than a year later, my engine began overheating a 2nd time. The dealer refused to warranty because there were more than 10,000 miles put on the vehicle since the original fan was replaced . About three months later, the car would not start while sitting in a parking lot. This was related to a faulty brake sensor. Most recently, 6 months later, the vehicle would not start because of a failed starter requiring a tow truck. A 2011 vehicle should not have this many problems. I am extremely disappointed in Hyundai and am looking to sell it in the very near future. I travel for business, and need a reliable means of transportation. Purchased a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe in May 2013. It unfortunately came to my attention that despite what Hyundai labels as Americas Best Warranty, that this same warranty will not be honored for the repeat breakdown that also occurred in May 2014. The problem that is being referred to occurred for the first time this past May 2014. When the driver made a left turn on a side street, he heard a loud noise coming from under the car. Upon further inspection, the vehicle was not able to be driven and therefore a flat bed came and towed the vehicle to the closest Hyundai dealership, which was College Park. Once the car was able to be inspected it was determined that the rear differential case cover bolt broke off; (actually it completed sheared in half) which in turn caused damages to the passenger side axle, propeller shaft, shaft assy, and flange assy. After a few days of going between the dealership and the manufacturer it was determined that it would be covered under the warranty and they then arranged for a rental car and began to do the repairs. After a couple of weeks, the car was completed and it was driven without any further issues until the most recent incident, which occurred October 9. Once again, the driver was making a right hand turn coming out of his work-place parking lot. Again there was a loud noise and this time the car was left totally inoperable. Because of the mechanism of the defect the car had to again be placed on a flat bed and towed to the College Park Hyundai once again. Again there was communication between the dealership and the manufacturer, but this time it was determined that it was NOT going to be covered under the exact same warranty that covered it in May; definitely something that was hard to figure out; how a different opinion was made this time. If you compare the work order from both May and October, once again you will see that the rear differential case cover bolt broke off; (again, sheared in half). As you can imagine this then in turn caused damages to the passenger side axle, propeller shaft, shaft assy, and flange assy. The warranty is not going to be honored and base the defect on the operator error or something along the lines of the way the vehicle was being driven. I find it hard to determine how the exact same defect can be covered under the main warranty at one point and then 5 months later have the exact same problem occur and NOT be covered under warranty. In addition, if you look at the repair order from the May event, you will note along the side Limited Warranty; parts and labor warranted 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. So this is yet another warranty that Hyundai is choosing not to honor. I find it very difficult that a company can come to two completely different conclusions on almost identical defects. When we called the consumer affairs division, unfortunately we were not met with the courteous of individuals. And I can’t even blame this on someone having a bad day as with every time that we have had to call the consumer affairs office to try and deal with this problem, we again were met with less than professionalism. After discussing this problem and going between many individuals, you have come to the conclusion that now you are willing to split the repairs 50/50; and we still have not been offered a rental car to use while all of this is figured out. With your latest decision is that after it does get fixed (under warranty or partly under warranty), what warranty (or will there be a warranty) is going to cover these repairs yet again. It is unfortunate that it has come to this. I am hoping that Hyundai would honor the warranty that claims to be the Americas Best Warranty and fix the vehicle. If Hyundai does not consider this under warranty, then what next?? How am I to know what Hyundai warranty they will honor and what warranty they won’t honor. It doesn’t seem fair or ethical that a business manufacturer can decide not to cover a warranty just by saying so. It is a shame that a letter such as this has to be written before Hyundai will consider a different conclusion and come to the realization that the bolt that was sheared in half yet again should and does consist of a defect covered by the warranty. Anyway, after all is said and done they refused to cover it under warranty and estimated repairs at over $6000 dollars. I will never buy a Hyundai ever again and have been telling everyone to run, dont walk as far away from a Hyundai purchase as possible. Whatever happen to the customer is always right. Thank God for Lemon Laws; we will let the courts figure it out.

Upset that I to give even just 1 star... Horrific experience. Tires are always deflating... (rim issues even when new one were purchased.) Car stopped on a high way (engine recall) and then was without my car for 3 months. No same thing. They lie in the service department. They wont fix my 2 open recalls. My case manager hung up on me and told me that the dealership probably wont help me because they dont want to be bothered with me either. My car currently cost 4300.00 to fix an electrical issue causing the car to no start. I still owe about 6k and have no intentions on keeping the car because I have to fix something every other week. I cant make this up. I cant wait until I get out of this situation. It is not a safe car as my car has stop out of nowhere with no warning 2 times. Its a joke. Do not buy from this brand. Please, I beg you for yourself. Any advice please???

We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabe
We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City. We had oil changes done in excess of requirements and used the best oil always. As time went along we noticed our car kept getting louder and louder as we drove. I took it to Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City to have it looked at. The service dept. girl (Aamanda **) had me come out and look at something dealing with the tires. She showed me that the tires were wearing out in a choppy manner on the inside of the rear tires and that was what was making the loud sound as we drove; and that we simply needed to get a complete realignment and new tires. But then, thankfully, she showed me that the front tires were doing the same thing. The reason I say thankfully is that as soon as she showed me that, I immediately knew that this was not an issue that I should have to care for. It was a defect in the Hyundai Elantra suspension design and that they were trying to pass the blame and cost and problem ownership on to the consumer, and absolving themselves of any responsibility of causation through their own product design. After we went back inside the service dept., she tried to blame it on that I might not have had the tires rotated up to requirements. But she wasnt thinking properly again. These tires only rotate front to back and back to front, not side to side; therefore negating the thought of non-rotation problem causation. For it was happening in the front and back tires, which it would still have happened even if we rotated the tires everyday. Then, I said to her that this was a deeper problem and that tires were junk and that it wasnt the need for me to have a realignment. After that she went in the back and I never saw her again. So I left my name and number (of which she already had) with an elderly lady at the back service stand and asked her to have Aamanda call me when she figures out whatever she is figuring out, and she never called me. Subsequently, when I got home, I researched on the internet this issue and I found very many reports of the same problem dating back many years. Some of them mentioned in their report that they did have their proofs of tire rotations as needed and that Hyundai still blamed it on the car owner. My question, if it was an issue of the car owner not doing things properly as Hyundai dealers and Hyundai itself contends, how is it possible that it is exactly the same issue happening to thousands of Hyundai owners over a span of years? Simply put; its NOT anything that the consumer is doing wrong, and IT IS an issue that HYUNDAI has ownership of (it IS an issue concerning a defect in the suspension of the automobile ~ FACTLY), and they need to be made and forced to rectify the problem with all owners that are dealing and have dealt with the issue.

Little things starting to break, a little rust starting, poor mpg. Vehicle was bought for wife who hardly drives, so mpg really not critical. Has twice yearly full synthetic oil and filter changes, transmission service and filter at 3 year intervals, antifreeze flush and change at 3 years as well. Our dealer was Lehman Hyundai in N. Dade County (So. FL). Experience was quite pleasant - no finance involved. Test drove, put a deposit down, faxed copy of sale order to bank and they transferred funds to dealer. The young lady who sold the car actually delivered it to our driveway, brought my wife out and explained everything in the car to her. Great customer service from dealer sales dept. Not the same for Service Dept - enough for me to be very displeased (at that time I was an ASE Master Certified Technician in not only automotive, but Medium-Heavy Duty Trucks as well). From date on no one has touched her auto but my Happy Wife, Happy Life. I did not purchase any additional warranty, having had experience with one 10 years prior. Almost all car salespersons and sales managers excel at lying and getting to sign on dotted line. Do your homework on vehicle being considered, obtain confirmation of financing (if needed) prior to driving on lot and NEVER accept a 1 day only deal from anyone. I would run out of that dealership, that is just an intimidation tactic. In my case she told me how much they wanted (Full Sticker Price) and I told her what I would pay. She talked to Sales Manager - I would not; didnt like his looks. No way was she told and brought me back that message. I thanked her for her time and walked back to my truck, unlocked and started it. There was a knock on my window, Yes they would accept my offer! The only advice I can give about their Service Departments is to not do business with any that do not have a full staff of ASE certifications in the area they are working in. Record all conversations on your smart phones and maintain very good records. Last but not least, if all of your ducks are in a straight row, take them to court for damages and ask for your legal costs to be reimbursed as well. For what a good lawyer will cost them, it is sometimes cheaper to do the right thing. Never threaten them with court, do it! This Hyundai was not a bad car by any means, but my ex daughter in laws Honda Civic has over 175,000 miles and still going strong. That $2,000.00 extra for the Honda would have been a good buy in hindsight.

Lack of real concern from company or leasing agency. Length of time it is taking them over a safety concern. Hyundai is an unethical company. I own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. At 52,000 miles, we need a new transmission! What kind of car needs a new transmission at 52,000 miles?? The mechanic at the dealership even told us that we may have received a faulty transmission because they shouldnt need replacing at 52,000 miles. Our warranty was 2 months out of warranty so the dealership was optimistic that headquarters would still pay for the transmission and service because our car had such low miles and had so recently gone out of warranty. After the Hyundai dealership went back and forth with Hyundai headquarters, they told us they were unwilling to cover the cost of the transmission! The customer service was absolutely horrible. I have never had such a bad experience with a car company in my life. Hyundai should treat people more ethically instead of trying to squeeze me of every drop of money out of consumers they can.

If you are reading this - please do not finance with Hyundai Motor Finance. A year ago, I am leasing a Hyundai Elantra 2013 and the car was a total loss. So my insurance call HMF for the selling amount so they can pay the car off. That was on May 27, 2014. Today is Jun 27, 2014, a month later. My insurance call them so many times and send them the information about the loss four times and HMF still saying every time when I call then that they not received anything. I told them I want to speak with a supervisor and they say that they do not have a supervisor available and they just hang up on me so many times. This company is a joke and have very bad customer service especially in the recovery or claim department. Today is Jun 24, 2014 and they still not giving the selling amount to my insurance. This company is so disrespectful. I will never buy a Hyundai again.

My engine light came on when the car had about 70000 km. I checked and no oil. I towed the car in and after a week, Streetsville Hyundai told me that it was the oil pump building up pressure and forcing all the oil out of the engine. They assured me that replacing it will solve the problem. BTW, during this repair, I was also told that the alternator belt and the steering belt were all cracked and needs replacement at my cost. I have never heard of this happening in a car that is only 3 years old. 2 weeks later I noticed the car had problem picking up speed while changing gear and would rev to 5-6K before kicking in. 3 days later, the engine light came on again and no oil again. This time apparently the whole engine needs to be replaced because something in it is completely broken when they took the engine apart. After taking my whole car apart for diagnostic, I was told that my clutch was also completely burned out because I was riding the clutch. This is my third standard cars. The first one lasted 11 years with almost 200 K without a new clutch. The second one was 8 years old with 160K when I traded in without ever changing clutch. They are machining my flywheel and changing only the clutch disk and wanted to charge me $500 for parts only. First of all, I am convinced that my driving habits were not responsible for the clutch burning and second parts only should not come anywhere close to $500. I am sure that the problem was caused by the engine. I checked and learned that if there is oil on the clutch, it can cause slippage and burn my clutch. Still arguing with Hyundai warranty. I have to agree with everyone that Hyundai warranty service is not very helpful at all when you call them to address the issue.

They classified this part of world as driving conditions severe which I disagree. I own over the years three different Hyundais & oil change intervals is same. We use to have about same intervals in 1960 & todays synthetic oils it should be much longer. Hyundai still use conventional oil. I use synthetic on my vehicles, but they tell me you have change oil same intervals regardless what oil you use to be under warranty. I also own 2016 Toyota Tacoma and oil changes on it is every 16000km. They use synthetic oil.

Called Hollar Hyundai to set an appointment to get my alternator replaced. Derek said they were booked, but would try at 2pm, but no guarantee they could touch it today, even if I got there, then said that since my mileage is close to the expiration of the warranty of 60,000 (actual miles then was 55,555) that the warranty may not cover it! I have owned my 2009 Hyundai Elantra since new, and have had a rear rattle problem since new. The car has been in and out of numerous dealerships in the past four years with no one being able to find the source of the rattle. The aggravation has been enormous. This is clearly not a rare problem, as there have been countless articles online about the same problem I have, from other Elantra owners. I am throwing in the towel on Hyundai. I will never get near any Hyundai product again. When they first arrived in North America 25 years ago, their cars were absolute junk, especially structurally. I personally thought they sorted out those problems over a very long period of time. It is now clear, they have not. They are getting favorable write ups in the media, but I dont think that will last. My experience has truly been a nightmare.

On Jan. 21, 2014 I purchased a Certified Pre-owned 4 door, 2010 Hyundai Accent GLS from CarMax in Hickory, N.C. I was assured that this was a safe, reliable car, with great gas mileage. I took the car back twice within 3 days because of random noise under the hood but was told it was nothing to worry about. On Jan. 28, 2014 the car was totaled in a snow storm in Marion, N.C. while driving 40-50mph in a 70mph zone when I hit a truck that had already wrecked in my lane of traffic. I tried to slow down but the brakes locked up and I slid into the truck. I hit the truck so hard that it exploded my battery, computer, and radiator on impact and turned off. But NONE of the 6 airbags worked in my new certified pre-owned DEATH TRAP. My head bounced off of the steering wheel and then bounced back to the headrest. I suffered 3 torn ligaments in my neck, whiplash, etc. The foreign P.O.S was supposed to have 2 front, 2 side, and 2 overhead airbags and none worked. I couldve been hurt a lot worse or killed that day having no protection. The seat belt tightened so bad that I had bruising for over a week across my chest and stomach from the seat belt that felt like someone took a ball bat to me. If you have a death-wish, this is the perfect car to buy! CarMax and Hyundai passed the blame of course. CarMax said that it was the manufacturers fault and Hyundai said that it was because I failed to slow down! I asked for a copy of the black box reading results from Hyundais engineering analyzer at Hyundai Motor America in Fountain, Valley, CA and was told that the report was classified information that I could not see! The reading told the real story of why the non-working airbags almost killed me Im sure, but I was not allowed to see. Total BS! I have had to pay over $2500 for a car I drove 7 days. BEWARE! Dont BUY A HYUNDAI!

Well took it in last Friday and no SD card. Asked about it and was told they would try and find one if they can. At that point am up set and contact Hyundai directly for one. They give me the navigation company number to call and I did. They were willing to sell me another one. I said no thank you. I want the one I already bought. I called Hyundai consumer affairs back and talked to a case manager named Vanilla and she stated she called the sales manager and he would take care of it and that was all Hyundai was willing to do. 3 week after I bought my Car still no navigation or Blue link due to navigation not working. I filed a Better business bureau claim and got a call from the customer relations manager from the dealership. Found out the SD cad was never ordered and that he personally would make sure it was done. Bottom line Hyundai didnt care and to me it will be the last one I buy. Hyundai has the worst leasing programs in the business. Do not fall for their lease plan. My wife turned her Equis recently. The car was 12,000 miles under so she thought she was fine. She had the Hyundai dealer wash the car when she took it in for an oil change. They used a pressure washer and took some of the pearl white off the plastic bumper. The manager said they have had issues with this paint and not to worry. Hyundai sent a person out to look at her car and write it up. She wrote down the paint issue. She said it needed a new tire. The tire in question was well within the safe range. Note that this vehicle was known to have under equipped tires on them and she kept the same when she replaced them. After 24,000 miles she had purchased two sets of tires. The Equis was their top of the line vehicle and their bottom of the line vehicles had more bells and whistles on them. My wife had asked before purchasing the vehicle about all of the things like bluetooth and was assured it had it but the salesman didnt know how to work it. That was a lie. She went back the day after purchasing the vehicle and was told Too bad, were sorry. Cant do anything about it. I will say it was the best driving vehicle weve had and I did enjoy it. The problem was the Hyundai Lease, they lie, cheat and dig into your back pocket. DO NOT LEASE THROUGH HYUNDAI. Purchase the vehicle outright or find another lease option. My wife showed the Texas Hyundai Lease manager her original correspondence and how Hyundai Lease didnt get back to her the first week she had it. They do not care about you, just the money. We are waiting on a recall for the white paint to get our money back. Tire places including the dealership said the tire in question was within code. The dealership said they would have waived all of the issues Hyundai Lease found. Remember, youre getting the car from a dealership but youre dealing with Hyundai underhand Lease.

I have owned a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 3 years and have owned 3 Hyundais over the last 20 years. I have always been a loyal Hyundai owner, but I am now reconsidering that thought. Over the weekend, my car broke down when the control arm broke and left me right where I sat. After some research, I have discovered the part that broke was, at one time, under a recall. I called the Hyundai Customer Assistance Center yesterday, November 26, to inquire about the recall and was told that recall has expired. When I asked about the expiration date of the recall, I was told I would have to call my local dealership to find out when it expired. I couldnt understand why I would have to call the dealership when I was speaking to a case manager as he continually referred to himself as. I refused to call the dealership as someone from Hyundai had to tell the dealership when it expired. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he was the case manager and his supervisor would tell me the same thing. I again asked for the supervisor and was told he is very busy. I was then put back on hold and had my husband go ahead and call the dealership about the recall and was told the recall was expired but he couldnt tell us when either. When the case manager came back to the phone, his story changed to my car didnt fall under the recall for the control arm issue. So, I still dont know if my car was part of the recall but the recall expired or my car wasnt part of the recall even though its the same problem that caused the recall to begin with. I didnt get anywhere with the case manager at the assistance center nor did I get to speak to a supervisor. I even left my name and number and was told he would return my call but I didnt hear back from him. At this point, my car is still where it broke down and so far, Hyundai has been zero help. I really dont want to put a lot of money into a car that I no longer have faith in the company that made it.

I love the Remote Start feature that Hyundai Blue Link provides. I think its very overpriced. I also dont like that to get the Remote Start that I have to get the other packages which I dont use. It would be nice to just have the Remote Start feature. I also dont like that the max time for the vehicle to be started is only 10 minutes. It would be great for the customer to extend the timer beyond 10 minutes especially living in a cold climate state like I do. When the timer expires for the Remote Start, why dont you receive notification like you do when the vehicle is started. Also, I dont like it that it flashes the parking lights, they should give the option for the customer to turn off that feature or go to a solid parking light if so the customer chooses.I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and received the Remote Start package for a trial period. It was set up by the dealership. I didnt know why they needed my credit card information, I found out why. They auto billed my card after the trial period was over without notifying me. I asked why I wasnt notified and they didnt have an answer. I told them that I only wanted the Remote Start option and they said that I had to get the full package to get the Remote Start. Almost $300. I liked the Remote Start that much that I didnt cancel the service of which the Remote Start is the only thing I use.The next year, I purchased a 2016 Tuscon, same thing with the Elantra happened with the Tuscon. I called Blue Link and asked them to sync my two accounts, the agent told me she had done so. When I tried to start my 2015, the app prompted me to call Blue Link. They told me that the subscription on my Elantra was cancelled. I told them that I had another two months left before renewal, she verified that I was correct. I then asked her why was my service cancelled and she said she didnt know. She got a supervisor involved and he said the same thing.Granted, the 2015 is a Generation 1 vehicle and the 2016 is a Generation 2 vehicle which is two different departments. Why arent they combined, I dont know. I told them to turn on my service for the remaining two months that I have left on my subscription, they said they couldnt do that. They said I had to renew my yearly subscription. I asked them why because my service was not scheduled for renewal for two months and that it wasnt my fault that they screwed up. They said that their computers would not allow them to go in and turn on the service without the renewal of my yearly subscription. Being unsatisfied, I told them to renew my subscription which got prorated to the date that I purchased the vehicle. They told me that for my troubles that they would give me a discount on one of the packages one of my vehicles. They assured me that this mishap would not happen again.Which brings me to this years renewal, the so-called discount wasnt a discount, they extended one of the packages on one of my vehicles which knocked my packages out of sync, again. The sent me an E-mail stating that I would have to pay almost $20 a month for the next two months to aligned the packages. On the day that they were supposed to pull the money from my account, my Remote Start package was cancelled and when I called Blue Link, they said I had insufficient funds. Which I found ridiculous because I verified that I had several thousand dollars on that account. I even signed onto the Blue Link website to verify that the billing information was correct and it was. Besides, they had just taken out $297 from my account for my other vehicles renewal of which I wasnt notified. I asked them why I wasnt notified and again, they said that they didnt know and they were going to pass me onto their website department. They are currently investigating why I wasnt notified, I am not going to hold my breath for a response, lol. The agent asked what would it take for me to be a satisfied customer, I said, Free service, I knew that wouldnt fly. I asked her to turn on the service for the remainder of the two months I have left to sync my accounts, of course, just like the year prior, they said it couldnt be done and that I had to renew my yearly subscription. I didnt. I am so frustrated with Blue Link right now but I love their Remote Start feature. A few years ago, I tried to have Car Toys to put an aftermarket remote start system on my vehicle and they said that because the vehicle has a factory installed remote system on the vehicle that they couldnt do it. This was three years ago. I am going to revisit this option and see if it can be done. With the Remote Start feature I had on my other vehicle, it had way more features than Blue Link has and for cheaper. You figure with as much as they charge for the service that they would be one of the leaders in the game.I gave this review only 2 stars because I love the Remote Start otherwise it would be one star. I dont think Blue Link even cares about their customers, they know we have to use this service if we want it, especially being in a cold climate state. If they were smart, they would find a way to be able to modify the field to change the renewal date to maintain the subscribers they have right now. I will be looking for another car company where I can have more flexibility with this option. So it will be goodbye to Hyundai even though I like their vehicles. My Tucson was the 4th Hyundai I had purchased, yes, this is a deal breaker. If I can find a go around, I will. Thanks, Blue Link. Step up your game.

Front bumper falls off very easily on Sonata - Be very careful when pulling into a parking spot with a tire stop installed like most handicapped parking spots. I went about 2 inches too far and heard a scrape on the tire stop. I backed up slowly, and it pulled my front bumper off the car on one side. I pushed it back into place and taped it up to drive home. They are the cheapest little plastic devices that hold the bumper on the car, and once they break (according to my dealer), you have no choice but to replace the whole front end of the car ($1,104.00). When speaking to the body shop for Hyundai, they explained that Hyundai used to warrant this problem, but there were so many that they quit doing it. They said they had replaced over 25 of these recently. I went through all the Hyundai customer options, but they would not help in any way. There is nothing to keep this from happening again except being very careful when you park. I will never buy another Hyundai again because of this. Very cheap manufacturing and possibly dangerous. I hate to see this happen with our car companies. I never had this happen with any other car in the last 50 years I have been driving. Just an additional note, there is not a scratch anywhere on the bumper except underneath and nothing broke or cracked except these cheap fasteners which are attached to the bumper. Some of the other plastic parts under the bumper have to be replaced as well. Hope this helps others, and I wish I knew about it before I bought this car.

I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata into the Hyundai dealer service center with a problem on my auxiliary plug. I used a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable to connect my iPod to the car. After a couple of months, the cable had bad connection. Due to that problem, I bought a new auxiliary cable but the cable wasnt the problem. The problem was the 3.5 mm jack that is on the car. I brought my car to the dealer but they said they couldnt do anything since I didnt use OEM Hyundai auxiliary cable even though they knew the problem. So I bought the OEM cable, but after few months it didnt work well. So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. Also, it is very obvious that their staff would say there is no problem. I am highly unsatisfied from this experience. I cannot enjoy my music in my brand new Hyundai Sonata. I should have my audio jack replaced with a new part and refund on the cable.

I brought my 2021 Hyundai Kona EV to Lithia Hyundai of Reno because my emergency braking and adaptive cruise control warning light were on. The dealership said that I damaged the radar under the front bumper, and it also took them three separate visits to fix the issue. Finally, I spoke with Hyundai corporate, and they said once the dealership mechanic makes a call about a problem, they can not change it even though I sent them pictures of the car with zero damage. There is a small scrape on the bumper that the dealership is saying broke an $800 part. I asked Hyundai corporate if I could send the part to their engineering team, and I even offered to pay the shipping, but they said no. I explained that they should be very concerned that if what the dealership is saying happened to be correct, you would think they would want to investigate why, but they still didnt care.

I have a 2012 Genesis with 42,000 miles on it and it blew an engine. A piston rod broke in half. Hyundai refuses to cover it under the warranty because they claim it was out of oil. I just had it serviced, but not by Hyundai, and there was oil in it. In fact when the rod broke the engine spilled oil all over the road and the tow truck. Even the dealer confirms that. But no the supreme judge at America Hyundai says no oil, no pay. The warranty isnt worth the paper its written on!!! Never, ever buy a Hyundai! The experience is bitter beyond description.

I was forced to sign a lease for 2012 Hyundai Elantra by Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn, promising a great deal and rebate. But they have put more than $3,000 above their MSRP of $21,495. They gave me no rebate. When questioned, they said this particular car doesnt have a rebate. But that car always remained in their specials page with all the other deals! They did all malpractices in the lease calculation and made me put a down of $530 - $2,000 cash and $3,300 trade-in. Still, they made my monthly installment $291.44 for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year.Their advertisement says MSRP $21,495, monthly installment $234 for $0 down! I paid $5,300 down but my installment is much higher than what their ad says. I contacted them many times with this but their response was so sarcastic and humiliating. The managing director asked me, Then why did you take the car? in a very sarcastic way. They even openly accepted that they put a higher MSRP purposefully and they do have the right from Hyundai to do so.I complained in Hyundai consumer affairs but they closed the case just listening to the dealer saying that they gave me a huge package of accessories which made the price difference. The accessories the dealer gave me did not cost beyond $1,000, but the lady who represented Hyundai was not willing to listen to me. She was in a hurry to close the case. I am trying to get justice in some or other way.

Be warned, that if you are considering purchasing a Hyundai try giving their customer service line a call to get a feel for what youre in for. I was traveling 81n when out of nowhere my car shuts off, without warning. I drift as far as I can up the exit ramp and to safety. My car was towed to the local Hyundai dealership which is Freysinger Hyundai of Mechanicsburg. It was the weekend so service was closed until Monday. Monday I contact them and my insurance to see what is going to be done to fix my car. They tell me that my engine didnt have oil in it and its locked up. The total cost would be $9,500 to fix it. I asked insurance if they covered it and they said, it had nothing to do with them. I then call and tell service that I have a warranty til 100,000 miles that should covered it. They tell me I dont have coverage because Im the second owner. Which I am but paid extra to be covered. They tell me theres no record and that I have to call the dealership that I bought it from.I did that and they said, we are all Hyundai, they should have the same system info. So I had to physically take them my information showing that I had coverage. They then tell me an adjuster has to come in and look over the car to see if its covered. I never received a call back after he comes in so after a week I call them to see whats up. I was told it wont be covered and that the bolts in my turbo were removed, so its my fault this happened. Furious now because they tell me I have to take care of the engine out of pocket ($9,500) as well as a car payment loan ($19,200) on top of full coverage insurance.I think they should be reliable for the issue because for 1) I have coverage and all my paperwork, 2) Ive never touched my turbo or had anyone else touch my car because I dont know about them. To me it seems like they have issues with upholding their end of the warranty so they say its your fault so they dont lose out on money. They have a serious issues that need to be fixed. I see the recall now so thats a start. I contacted Hyundais Corp Office about my car being a 13 but was manufactured April 2, 2012 in Alabama only to be told your car isnt on the recall. Anyone that can help me please email me, Im trying to find a lawyer to help as well.

My daughter purchased a certified pre owned 2013 Sonata limited turbo. She took it to have regular maintenance, so she took good care of the car. On February 2017 she was driving down the road when she heard a noise from under the hood, so her friend told her to pull over so he could check it out, when he lifted up the hood there was a red glow. He immediately told her to get out of the car. Within an minute her car was engulfed in flames. The car burnt so bad, all that was left was the trunk of the car. Had he not told her to pull over my daughter and her friend would have died in that car.She notified Hyundai about this. For one because it was still under warranty and two her car burnt to the ground for no reason out of nowhere. They took about 2 months to get back to her and when they did they only offered her what they call fair market value, which was way lower than what she paid for the car. With what they offered she couldnt even touch the kind of car she had and is still making payments on. They were rude and the one guy hung up on me when I got upset with his attitude. We have called repeatedly trying to talk to someone in charge but to no avail. We have heard from a friend of hers that someone on Facebook has had their car go up in flames also. Hyundai does not stand by their product and they also have the worse customer relations that I have ever experienced. Never ever would I recommend buying a Hyundai car.

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

I purchased a brand new Hyundai Tucson Sport in December 2019 off the showroom floor. I paid cash for it. In February there was a clicking noise so I took it to the dealership. After diagnosis they said that a rod was coming loose and they would have to replace the motor. I only had 2000 miles on it. I should say Im 70 years old and I treat my vehicles with care. After replacing the motor it never ran right. I talked to the service manager and he lead me to believe that a rebuilt motor could have been put in it and could not confirm to me that it was a new motor. After taking it back due to low power I got frustrated with Hyundai and I traded it in at CarMax on another brand of SUV. Ill never own another Hyundai again.

On 8/20/2013 I was leaving the VA clinic, I put the car in drive and pressed the gas. A few seconds later the car sounded like a motorcycle and the check engine light came on. I didnt want to drive it on the highway so I took the main streets. The exhaust got louder and louder and I was afraid it might cause engine damage. I saw a Meineke Car Care Center and pulled in. They lift the car and the mechanic said that the converter gasket blew out. While installing a new gasket he noticed that the gasket flange on the front pipe was a little distorted probably from all the heat. He told me he would have to put a small amount of sealer on the gasket to make up for the gap and that he didnt know if it would hold, but it would get me to the Hyundai service department without hurting the engine. When he had finished and started the car it was perfect. No noise, no leaks. I had an appointment with Twin City Hyundai on 9/12 for a recall problem. I told them what had happened and the Service rep., the service manager and a mechanic looked for almost an hour and took some parts off the front of the engine. The service rep. called me over and started explaining what was wrong with the car. He said, and they ALL agreed that the manifold was cracked and had to be replaced, the converter was no good, and needed a new front pipe, and they may find other problems after they tore it down. Travis said it would cost $1400 to $3000 if the warranty didnt cover it. Travis (the service rep.) said he had to take some pictures to see if the warranty would cover the cost. On Monday 9/16 Travis called and said the warranty was void because it was road damage, and said it would be as much as $3,000.00 to fix it. Travis NEVER said anything about “Road Damage” on 8/20 after the 3 of them had a one hour inspection. After I got Travis’s call I took the car back to Meineke and told them what Twin City said it would cost. They were outraged and called it a scam. Meineke fixed the car perfectly by installing a new front pipe and their inspection showed NO manifold crack, and no need to replace the converter as it was working properly. The front pipe was $200.00.I drove to Twin City Hyundai and acted like I wanted to have them fix the car. I asked Travis to take another look and make sure he was sure about his appraisal, and what the car needed to be fixed. Even though the car was fixed he still said that it could be as much as $3000 but definitely no lower than $1400. That’s when I told him the car was fixed for $200 and that I wondered how many others he had scammed. I then went up and talked to the General Manager **, and explained the fraud that they tried to pull. His comments were “what would you like me to do about it?” I said as the General Manager, I guess that was up to him, and then out of nowhere he says you are banded from brings your car here for warranty service. He tries to punish me for because I caught his people trying to scam me out of $2800.00.

Just bought a brand new 2019 Hyundai and was sold on the Blue Link features that supposedly came with the car for three years free. Well, after the paperwork was completed the salesman tried to sign us up on the MyHyundai site. The registration would not go through and they requested a bunch of documents, I suppose to prove we actually bought the car. Now, three days later, they are still not happy and want copies of mine and my wifes drivers licenses. Well, I am so insulted by Hyundai customer service I wish I could take the car back. In short: Hyundai has come a long way. As a Honda loyalist, I was nervous about choosing a brand with a history of reliability issues. I test drove every Hybrid sold in the US and much to my surprise, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid came out on top of the many categories I laid out for myself. Hyundai really took the time to design the ergonomics, style, feature-set, and accommodations for this car, which I fell in love with. My dealer made buying one simple, straightforward, and pressure-free.In Detail: CABIN: After driving the gamut of hybrids available in the US (Fusion, Prius [+ IV, C & V], Civic, Avalon, Camry, Accord, Volt, Crosstrek, CR-Z, C-Max...) I was finally talked into at least test driving the Sonata Hybrid. My partner had a 2012 Sonata that was recently totaled, (air bags deployed, driver and passenger safe and unharmed) that we both liked a lot, so I put my brand loyalty and pride aside to appease this silly recommendation. I got in and almost immediately fell in love (with the cabin, at least). Bluetooth connectivity, Pioneer audio w/ subwoofer, 8 screen, automatic dual-zone climate control, 4 in-dash LCD screen, push-start engine, heated leather seats, contemporary (if not ultra-modern) dash design, roomy front and rear seats, tons of storage space, and an overall feeling of luxury car enveloped you the moment you sat down. The real over-the-top, wow-factor element was the panoramic sunroof with an automatic curtain system... it was just, wow.TEST DRIVE: The dealership gave me the keys and said, Well see you when we see you. Instant acceleration? Absolutely. Hybrid? No way. This Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (HSH) drove like a dream. Smooth, peppy, sporty, yet luxurious. I took it around for an hour or so and decided that it was going to be pushed to the top of my contenders list. It felt more comfortable than most of the other cars I had test driven and felt less like a Hybrid than all of them (thank you 6-speed transmission). After a day of driving other cars, the HSH felt like a retreat into a luxury condo. Everything about the car seemed to say to me, How can I make you more comfortable? How can I make this drive more exciting for you? What more can I do for you today. This car was definitely built from the drivers seat outward.RESEARCH: I was under no pressure to buy a car, so I took my time, researched all of my options and test drove every car that fit my basic parameters. As a car guru, I know most things about most cars, so my researched was aimed at filling in the gaps (i.e. owner experience, changes between 2012 and 2015 HSHs, recalls, future model introduction [at the time of my purchase, the 2016 HSH had been announced, which did encourage me to buy sooner than later, considering the design change was, in my opinion, moving backwards], dealership issues, etc). I joined the Hyundai forum for Sonata Hybrids and extensively read through threads describing issues specific to the HSH I was considering.PURCHASE: After several weeks of consideration and re-test driving the cars that made the top of my list, I finally decided that the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited w/ Ultimate Package was the car for me. Then the fun began. I called every Hyundai dealership in the Tri-State Area (VA-DC-MD) getting price quotes, availability, and dealer-specific incentives. I knew that I wanted to buy from Alexandria Hyundai, but after seeing their price match guarantee, I decided Id get the best deal possible, then have Alexandria Hyundai match it. The car at the time had an MSRP ~$33,500 (the limited package added upgraded tech, leather seats, some aesthetic features; the ultimate package added the panoramic sunroof and the Pioneer Stereo system) and I was in the market for something under $27,500. With the new 16 being released in the coming month and gas prices having plummeted, dealers seemed exceptionally willing to slash prices for almost any reason. To cut to the chase, I was able to have two Southern VA dealers battle it out to get my car down to $24,500 out the door (OTD). I was exceptionally happy with that price, brought the lowest quote to Alexandria Hyundai, and they said they would match it. They had the exact car I wanted, so I was ready to buy. I didnt haggle much from that point, because their dealership incentives were far better than any of the others (free car washes, free oil changes and tires for life, free inspections, free loaner with major service, etc). After going through the paperwork, which was a smooth transition, the car was mine (at least physically). Everything about the car was explained to me and I left a very happy consumer. 20,000 mi. UPDATE: Having had the car for 2 years, I am incredibly happy with the car itself and Alexandria Hyundai. Ive had very few services, but each time I brought my car in, I was treated very well and work was completed efficiently. The car drives like it did when I drove it off the lot that first day, with some minor wear in conspicuous places (the SONATA printed on the floor mat is less silver than it was back then). Id recommend Hyundai for consideration to friends and family; Id especially recommend the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid; and Id INSIST that if they were buying one, they go to Alexandria Hyundai in Northern Virginia.FINE PRINT: I bought the diamond white pearl model because its 10x more luxurious than the other colors. Its gorgeous enough to rival my friends Lexus RX-350 hybrid. Im still very much enamored with my car and think that 2 years later it is still one of the most attractive vehicles on the road. I am constantly told that my car looks brand new, looks and feels like a luxury car, and is sooo quiet.

Hello, DONT BOTHER WITH THESE CROOKS, looking into my options for a court case as we speak. FIRST I bought my car in 2016. Everything was great in that aspect, my salesman Ron was very nice, friendly, down to earth and not fake. I left happy, I loved my car at the time. I went to the bank for a different reason, paperwork in hand because I was going into work right after that. One of the loan officers said, Hey you bought a new car. Congrats. You mind if I take a look at that paperwork, I said, Sure no problem.. Well well. Long story short she seen that they snuck in a $2000 warranty that I DID NOT agree too. We all know Hyundai has the best warranty around. 100,000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first. She also seen my rate was way too high. She fixed that as well. She also saved me almost $200 a month on my payment a year off the loan.Fast forward to today. I just got my title in. Ive paid off my car this year. Title says 3,229 miles on instead of 9 miles like it was when I bought it. Also says USED when it was brand new off the showroom floor. I have a picture of the odometer the day I bought it and left with it where it says 9 MILES!! not 3, 229 miles. I now do some research and see this is something they do all the time, sell people LOANERS and or RENTALS and say that they are brand new. Plop them on the showroom floor and screw over people right and left. Not me. Im not letting this go. NO way NO how! I work hard for my money and I will not be fooled by some car salesman prick in a Walmart suit. Thank god I took pictures of that odometer. I have purchased Hyundai EON car in India as company introduce it in market in the month of Nov. 2011, after two months company upgraded the model providing extra facilities and decreased rates. Question is, are we fool to give immediate response to new model by purchasing in high rates. So please upgrade our model also as otherwise we feel cheated.

The sun visor wont stay up. It almost caused me to hit the car in front of me because of the lack of visibility. I called the dealership and there has been no recall in this matter, even though I did research about this sun visor issue and numerous complaints in Sonatas from 2006 to 2008.

I bought my Hyundai Sonata in May 2011 and was happy, until on 15,000 mile
I bought my Hyundai Sonata in May 2011 and was happy, until on 15,000 mile service. My tires were rotated and I started to hear a noise. I went to the Hyundai service and told them about the noise. They called me about an hour after I left my car saying that the noise coming from the tires and the reason is lack of rotation. When I asked why lack of rotation will cause this problem, service manager told me that the way suspension set in my Sonata caused chopping of the rear wheels if they are not rotated each 5,000-7,500 miles. So Dear Hyundai! I did drive many other car brands and never was too strict about rotating the tires in time. It never made this type of terrible damage to the tires. I started to check online and realized that Im not alone! Digging a bit more, I understand now that one of the vectors for the rear wheels suspension alignment is static. This is the source of the issue!I contacted Hyundai customer affairs and asked to make exception and replace my 2 noisy tires now so I can drive my new car without this terrible noise. I said that I will not continue to complain about the strict rotation requirement and will do it as they advised in the service from now on. However, I also said that such exception tires handling should be communicated when they do the service or even when they sell the car. When I did my first, 7,500 miles service at Hyundai dealership, they did not offer me the rotation nor advised that I should do it and why it is important.Hyundai customer service answer was that I should not wait for service or Hyundai to tell me that I need to do a rotation but ask the service to make the rotation. Thank you for this advice! Im now on the list of unhappy Hyundai customers and probably will never go for another Hyundai nor let any of my friends to make the same mistake!
