The price for Blue Link Remote and Connect Care is borderline illegal and absolutely egregious. Over $700 a month for complete service for 3 years is insane when other companies like GMs OnStar is free. This is a horrible way to do business and a sure fire easy way to lose repeat customers.

I took my car to have my air conditioner serviced, it cost me about 129.00. It should still be under warranty. I was told if its due to a road hazard I would have to cover it, but if a part failed they cover it. Well it was not a road hazard. I got a refund after I complained but its still not fixed. Very unhappy customer. And its my second new car.

I was forced to sign a lease for 2012 Hyundai Elantra by Herb Chambers Hyundai of Auburn, promising a great deal and rebate. But they have put more than $3,000 above their MSRP of $21,495. They gave me no rebate. When questioned, they said this particular car doesnt have a rebate. But that car always remained in their specials page with all the other deals! They did all malpractices in the lease calculation and made me put a down of $530 - $2,000 cash and $3,300 trade-in. Still, they made my monthly installment $291.44 for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year.Their advertisement says MSRP $21,495, monthly installment $234 for $0 down! I paid $5,300 down but my installment is much higher than what their ad says. I contacted them many times with this but their response was so sarcastic and humiliating. The managing director asked me, Then why did you take the car? in a very sarcastic way. They even openly accepted that they put a higher MSRP purposefully and they do have the right from Hyundai to do so.I complained in Hyundai consumer affairs but they closed the case just listening to the dealer saying that they gave me a huge package of accessories which made the price difference. The accessories the dealer gave me did not cost beyond $1,000, but the lady who represented Hyundai was not willing to listen to me. She was in a hurry to close the case. I am trying to get justice in some or other way.

I leased my 2015 Sonata Sport in Feb of 2016. It had been a service loaner and had almost 5000 miles on it at delivery. After about six months in Aug of 2016 my car would not start and I had to call Hyundai Roadside to jump it. I brought it into the dealer the following week. They tested the battery, said nothing was wrong, and suggested I did something to cause the battery drain. Well, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Nov of 2016. This time they said the battery was bad and replaced it. Even after replacing the battery, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Jan of 2017. This time they blamed the problem on the Allstate insurance device I have plugged into the car and they said the battery was bad too. So they replaced the battery for the second time and I had the Allstate device replaced.I continued to have the same problems. I brought the car back to the dealer the following month and they said they could not replicate the issue and found nothing. It seems that my vehicle battery dies when I dont use the vehicle for a period of time – often 1.5 - 2 days, but it has died from sitting unused in as little as 22 hours. Since I continue to have this issue without any real help from the dealer, I contacted Hyundai consumer affairs in April of 2017 and they have been slow to take any action. I did not receive any actionable info from them until 2 weeks after I first called... They called the dealer I had been working with and the dealer told them they thought the issue was the insurance device (even though they found no problems the last time I had the vehicle there, with the device plugged in).So my Hyundai case manager told me they could not do anything until the insurance device was ruled out as a cause. I removed the device and purposefully did not drive the vehicle for a full day and surprise, the car was dead. So I called my case manager at Hyundai and told her what happened and that the device could be ruled out. Now she is checking to see if or when (her words) a Hyundai specialist can look at the car. Hopefully, it wont take another two weeks to find that out. It seems Im not the only person with this issue as a couple other reviews very recently indicate the same problem on the same year/make/model and with even the same time frame the problem began! I guess its time for me to find a lawyer too.

I have a 2010 Hyundai Entourage. I purchased this vehicle thinking it would be a reliable vehicle in July 2017. It had only 125,000 kms and was in great condition. So far I havent been exactly thrilled with reliability. But my impression changed today when I went into Hyundai dealership to order new a/c-heater control panel since my button for fan speed has broken. I was told there was one available but at a stupendous price of $900.00. I pretty gagged when they told me this. I was expecting $200.00-$300.00 which is till expensive but at least tolerable. After this experience, I will never buy another Hyundai vehicle because replacement parts are sold at a totally rip off price. $900.00 for a piece of electronic that simply controls heat and fan speeds. It doesnt even have automatic temperature control on this unit.

I purchased a Hyundai i20 Magna from Joshi Automobiles Mohali Punjab. At the time of delivery, several things were not provided to me though they said they’ll deliver it to me within few days. Even when I got my car insured from Joshi Showroom twice, every time, the insurance policy was sent after 6 months. Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.

In Europe Hyundai offer a 5 year, unlimited mileage warranty, with Hyundai Assistance (Call us for anything you need. Even if it a tyre with low pressure, is the sales pitch). Last Sunday I called them and told them that my left headlamp was not working on my 2 year 10 month old Hyundai. Additionally it was a Sunday and I needed to drive the car at night. They sent a mechanic, but alas, he did not have a lamp (!!!). I took the car to the garage the following day and despite all the issues, they charged 60 euro (approx 78 USD) for a lamp claiming that warranty does not cover the lamps. Lol...

Let me start at the beginning. I bought the 2018 Hyundai Sonata from Hyundai of Milford. I cam back for my first oil change and all went well. When the second oil change came around, they explained that in order to comply with warranty conditions, I needed to rotate the tires (a charge of about 85.00 with the oil change). No problem, I said. When I get the car back, I notice the tires were never rotated and I was charged. My understanding as they explained it to me is that if the services were not completed, it would void the warranty. They claim I was given a couple of free oil changes. Although they also said the tires would be rotated too, so I am really not so sure what I got. During one of the alleged free oil changes, I was told there was a software update. Again, I said, No problem, and they claim to have completed it.Anyway, so in August, I was 50+ miles from home, stopped at a car wash, grabbed a bite to eat and to my surprise, when I came out of the restaurant to start the car, the check engine light comes on. I had no acceleration whatsoever. Using their roadside assistance, I was towed from Windsor, CT to Branford Hyundai. It was Sunday, so the service department was closed. Service called me the following day to inform me that the main wiring harness was supposed to have been replaced when the software update was done. This tow cost me $130.00 since the roadside assistance only towed up to 20 miles. They kept the car for 2-3 days and finally called me and stated that the car was ready and all set. So, I picked up the car and a month a half later, guess what happens? Once again, I am in Windsor driving down the highway in the pouring rain and out of nowhere, the check engine light comes on again and the acceleration just stops. I have a car behind me that almost plows into me as a result. I coast off the next exit to a service station and again call for a tow truck. I used roadside assistance from another service that I have because it was a little cheaper and the second tow cost me $92.00.I towed it again to Branford Hyundai, it was Sunday again, so they were not open. I had to Uber to work the next day and waited all day for the service department to call me. They finally did at the very end of the day, after I called them a couple of times. I called them before I had to leave work, and they said they had not looked at it yet. When I got home, they called and said my car was all set. I got there, and the serviceman states, the problem was the knock sensor, and it should have been replaced when the wiring harness was replaced, he then stated, and I quote that this has been happening a lot and it was driving them crazy. We have been dealing with a lot of them and I should have replaced the knock sensor the last time you were here, sometimes we dont need to replace them though.I was told to send in both towing bills and receipts to corporate and I would be reimbursed for both towing bills. Well, when I did, I got an email suggesting that I sign a statement releasing them from liability for any further repairs related to the recall, and this would be the only way I would get reimbursed for the second tow only. I find their business practice unprofessional and they do not stand behind the products they sell. I refused to sign any documents, they said they would not reimburse anything if this was not signed. Very poor business practice. As a result of their carelessness, I am out $222.00 and am working harder than ever to get out of the car I am in, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata is NOT safe to drive. I am making sure that I let everyone I know (and that is a lot of people) not to buy from Hyundai or Kia (since they are the same manufacturer), and if they already did, to investigate whether the services they are completing are actually being done. I no longer have any ounce of trust in either of them and question their integrity. They need to be investigated by some authorities regarding their business practices since there are so many of their cars on the road. Based on the comments of the serviceman at Branford Hyundai, there seems to be a lot of them. If you happen to be behind one on the road BE CAUTious! The car may just lose power and cause a serious accident.

Hyundai refused to do anything and have left me stranded making monthly payments. I have since created a Facebook group dedicated to the Hyundai Tucson Theta-II Engine Failure and have found over 200 people with the same problem and story as I do. I will never purchase another Hyundai.Original Review: Hyundai is a horrible company. I purchased my 2012 Tucson as a second owner. I had the vehicle 1.5 years before the engine failed. Because I was a second owner, Hyundai refused to help. I was 6 months out of the time warranty of 5 years or 60k miles.

Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai
Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai, Egypt, when I heard the sound of a little stone. It was moved by the tire, hitting the underneath of the car. Then when I went to a fuel station to refuel, some people told me that there was a continuous heavy gasoline discharge from the underneath of the car. Inspecting the gasoline source, I found it coming through a hole in the fuel tank caused by that little stone which had hit the underneath of the tank. Inspecting the hole, I found a linear crack intersecting with a circular hole. I had a technician dismounted the fuel tank, soldered it, and re-mounted it.Here, I want to express my deep astonishment for a hole to happen to a car fuel tank by a little stone hit, since a stone hit is a very likely thing to happen to a moving car and must logically be taken account for during the tank design. Being still subject to the possibility of the danger of solder failure, which is a very high dangerous matter, this was fuel explosive and fire hazard for my family if the problem was not detected and repaired.I am asking you to: 1. Search for the cause of such damage, so as not to happen again to other people. 2. To remount a new fuel tank for my car.

My Hyundai Accent is less than two years old and has traveled only 14,000 kms. At my last service in May I advised the service center that a hole has appeared in my drivers side floor mat. I thought this was unusual due to the low kms and the fact that I mainly drive in bare feet not big boots. A claim was initiated and I was advised that it was denied as it was wear and tear. I could accept this if I had done a lot of kms in the vehicle however only 14,000 kms is not satisfactory. I have over the years owned a number of cars of various brands and travelled in excess of 200,000 kms in most with no similar problems. Is the construction of Hyundais so CHEAP AND NASTY that a carpet will wear out in such a short time. I had intended in keeping the vehicle but now think ILL REPLACE IT WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN A HYUNDAI.

I leased a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and was very unhappy with the auto. This was a purchase and sale. I have all the papers to prove this and tried to explain to them, Hyundai leasing, that I do not owe them anything and, if any monies have to be paid it would be by the Dealer, not me. Now they have reported me delinquent to the credit bureaus and as a result my credit scores have been reduced and as a result this has cost me higher interest fees, etc. I have disputed this with Equifax, Transunion and Experian but not successful. See attached photos! Out of the last 5 years I have owned my Hyundai I have had 4 door handles break and latches on inside to visor mirror & center console break within the first year of owning the vehicle. And I dont have children and never use these doors! It seems these are very cheaply made causing a huge inconvenience! 2 door handles repaired in the past 3 years and now 2 more are broke the same way this last year that have not been repaired. This has become very pricey and unnecessary to have to maintain to have working door handles. I have owned many cars in my life and never had this problem! Why arent these considered recalls??? I feel I should not have to continue to pay for the replacements of the handles and latches! I would like Hyundai to be responsible to repairing these items as they are currently not in working condition! Sincerely, Frustrated Hyundai owner.

It is a common experience for the visors to fall around 60,000 miles on Hyundai Accents. I found 22 complaints on the internet right away, without delving very deeply. The driver visor fell on my head while driving, so I couldnt see for about 15 seconds. This is very dangerous. It also hurt my head. Had to hold the visor up until I got home. Then had to cut it off. The passenger visor fell a few months later. Called customer service and they kept telling me a case manager would call me. He was supposed to call within 3-5 business days. He didnt call for 25 days, until I kept calling and wrote a customer complaint on the Hyundai site. Even though this is quite a common issue... and a safety issue that is happening to many people, I was told that Hyundai wont do anything to help with the costs. It costs $300 to get both visors fixed.

In March, we had an engine issue with our 2015 Sonata that has less than 8000 miles... It started with the clicking sounds that we hear whenever we hit the accelerator. We brought it to a local dealer. They took 2 weeks to fix the issue. When I asked about if it was all fixed and all was good to go, the dealer said yes and that we shouldnt have any future issues with it. Within 4 days from picking up the fixed car, we start hearing the clicking sound again. We brought it back to the same local dealer to be fixed. Within 3 days of dropping off the car, we received a phone call from the regional manufacturer representative to ask about our vehicle and if the car was repaired. I let her know that we actually had to bring back the vehicle for the same issue just days before she called. She gave me her number and said that she would get back to me within 24 hours with an answer to whats going to happen next. I dont hear from her... Feeling frustrated, I call her to find out whats going on. Since she told me to get in touch with her rather than the dealer, I trusted her and only called her to find out whats going on. I never hear from her... In the meantime, my husband calls their Korean Customer service number to make the complains and only told to speak with the representative who is not returning our calls. She is the one who can make anything happen. WHAT??? We even tried to call different customer service numbers but we are told that she is the one we need to speak to and no one else. Finally after dropping the car off 3 weeks prior, we receive a call from the dealer that the engineer from manufacturer came out to inspect our car and that the entire engine needed to be taken apart to see what is wrong with it. It took 2 days for this engineer to inspect it but no real answers to what is the actual issue. I finally took time off from work to go to the dealer to inspect the car and everything under the hood is taken apart and they said that it will take days to put everything back and repair the issues. While at the dealer, we manage to speak with the Service Manager who said that the manufacturer went cheap way out the first time we brought the car out and they are very interested in our car because for a new car, it is having some engine issue that they cant pinpoint too. He also said that the representative advised him that she has been in contact with us so he doesnt need to call us.Feeling disappointed and frustrated with whats happening with our new car. We tried to get in touch with the regional representative. To this day, we havent been able to speak with her and the car is fixed but the engine makes a lot of noise for a new car especially compared to my dads car that has over 200,000 miles on it and we are just disappointed with our whole experience with this dealer and the manufacturer. We cant wait to return this car when its lease expires in 2 years. Never will I ever buy another Hyundai vehicle. There are reasons why people said never buy Hyundai. Shouldve listened to them.

I bought this car when it was 3 yrs old and had it for 2 yrs. I noticed the engine took a long time to start and just got worst. When I took it in for a service they found the head gasket had blown. This is on a 5 yr old car! Whats worse is the warranty had just run out by a couple of weeks. I rang up Hyundai but they wouldnt repair it under warranty or goodwill since it just run out. You dont expect a head gasket to blow on a car this age. This is more common on very old cars with high mileage. Considering this is a very unusual thing to happen and with its warranty just run out you would expect Hyundai to fix it for me or at least pay some of the cost. The cost to fix it is just under a £1000 and the car is only worth £5000 :(

If you are reading this - Please do not finance with this company. About 3 years ago, a mistake on their end (on their website) returned my payment. The excuse they gave me was we only had the last four digits of your account number and therefore could not process your payment. Well, the entire account number was there, but the digits in front were shown as Xs, so my account number looked like this - XXXXXXXXXXX-0000. When I explained to them this was the issue, they reversed the late fee. You would think after this that the company would fix the issue.Well, this happened again recently in the beginning of April (2014). I was given the same excuse. They reversed the fee. I then made another payment (for two months). I made sure the account number, routing number, and checking number were absolutely correct (even have an email confirmation with all the information on it). This payment didnt go through again, and this time they will not reverse the fee. I repeatedly asked them for the reason why the payment did not go through. First I was told insufficient funds. Then I was told only last four digits were available. Then I was told the account number was wrong. When I repeatedly asked them for what account number they were given for the returned payments, they said they didnt have it on file. So how do you know it was wrong if you cant even check it in the first place? After several emails and phone calls, and a phone call with a supervisor named John, they absolutely refused to waive the returned payment fee. After the first payment was returned in early April, Hyundai Motor Finance should have immediately told me if something went wrong with the second payment (instead of waiting to hit me with a late fee/returned payment fee). Nothing showed on their website until AFTER they hit me with yet another fee. This is a real shame since Im happy with Hyundai Motors of America and my local dealership. However, if the dealerships are urging people to finance with this company, they too should be held accountable for poor customer service. They are refusing to do anything further. This issue is not resolved. To everyone reading this, avoid financing with this company. They truly do not care about their customers.

On October 15 2017 my husband and I were taking my granddaughter home after an overnight visit. We were driving my 2013 Hyundai Sonata with Turbo engine. We were going southbound on highway 52 from Mount Airy to Winston-Salem. We have made this trip many times since my grandchildren have been born. We had been driving about a half an hour, my husband in the front seat, driving and my granddaughter and I in the back seat. My husband said the car is making a noise and doesnt seem to be running right. I am going to pull off at the next exit and check it out. I glanced over the seat at the dash to check for any warnings on the dash but didnt see any. What I did see was smoke coming out from under the dash. I yelled, I think the car I on fire! So as quickly as he could my husband pulled the car off the road and told me to unbuckle my granddaughters car seat and to get out. I got out and walked away from my car. I could see flames coming out from under my car and the back bumper was melting. My husband got out and got my granddaughter out. Some people had already called 911 but it was too late for my car. Flames were shooting up in the sky. The worst of the flames were around the gas tank where my granddaughters booster seat was located in the backseat. This car was well maintained and in great condition. I hope that someone finds out what caused this. It did have a recall for metal in the motor but I had already taken it in and they checked it out.

Worst vehicle ever!!! The engine seized at 90,000 miles without warning. Now at 92,000 miles the steering column is shot. My mechanic found that the steering coupling among other components were basically shredded. He replaced the column and brought it to Hyundai of Metairie to have the electronic steering reprogrammed. The Hyundai service dept. will not do it. They want to replace the column again. They say the car isnt drivable. It was driven to them.

I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks. He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO TO KEEP THE CONTRACT THAT I WAS GIVEN AS WRITTEN, AND THE CAR.

My break light went out recently, so I went to go get the problem fixed. Come to realize that the auto shop told me that my left tail light wasnt attached to the vehicle, like it have been pulled from the car. All four screws were damaged. So I asked him if he could check the driver side, and it was the same issue. Now I am driving with my back tail lights hanging out of my car. I took it to the dealership and called Hyundai and they are saying they can not help me with this issue because no one has ever reported it, but on NHTSA you can see all the complaints of Hyundai owners having this same problem. In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

As a result, she suffered a severe vertebrae injury, taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, hospitalized and treated for days, and has only recently started physical therapy. Medical bill and treatment costs till now well over $100K, even with health insurance. Inability to work for over 6 months. Immobility and discomfort. The list goes on and on. From the hundreds of complaints I have read about Hyundai and their airbag lights, Im beginning to understand that you either live with this problem or you find another car. I pulled out my airbag fuse because Im tired of looking at the light and Im certain that this is a problem that neither I (mechanic for 8 years) or a mechanic at a Hyundai dealer could ever fix. My car is a 2003 Hyundai accent. I maintain this car very well and Im happy with the decent gas millage it gets, but safety is also a huge priority. Im not going to put my life on the line because Hyundai doesnt want to provide support for their customers. Let us know what the problem is so customers like myself could at least fix it.Obviously, this is a consistent and similar problem, otherwise you wouldnt have so many thousands of people complaining. Elantra 2015 - Starting at 3000km uncontrollably bouncing at highway speeds, trying to drive me into the ditch. Dealer in Belleville, Ontario, Canada said never heard of the issue. Google proved him wrong and when I took the printed proof was told it the USA assembled cars with the problem. I persisted and got new balance, then new heavier rears shocks, more balance and new specialized balance and at 12,000km a mechanic finally determined it was a problem with the Continental brand tires on the Hyundai (I was one of thousands who had already complained). Finally got new set of Continentals to replace original. Perhaps the service department cant balance tires but the problem still remains (although a bit milder). No resolution yet!!!

We have 105633 miles on the 2006 Hyundai Tucson that failed (engine overheated) in the middle of highway when my family with two small children were traveling. No warning and it was an abrupt stop. Called 911 and emergency responders pushed the car to the side. We towed to a dealer who said head gasket is blown and only fix is to replace engine. To further diagnose, the dealer needs approval from Hyundai but, Hyundai says, they will not do further diagnosis because their warranty covers only up-to 5 year and the vehicle can fail after 5 years. They insist there has not been any manufacturer recalls but, I asked them how do they know if there is no recalls if they dont diagnose? Their response was even worse than the ordeal we have gone through. We were almost killed driving this vehicle. Never buy a Hyundai that can only last for 5 years and get killed.

I’m writing this post because I had bad experience with Hyundai USA, and I warned their representative Lauren **, that this is what I would do. Her response basically was, “Go ahead,” and that is why I’m spending the time to write this. She refused to give me her last name, but if this gets back to Hyundai, I’m sure they will find out who she is.Back in March, when I would back up and apply the brakes, it sounded like thunder. I knew this meant I was having a problem with my brakes so I called the local Hyundai Dealership. They told me because I only had 12,320 miles on my car, that the rotors would be covered under my warranty. They also said the brake pads would not. The dealership was a distance away, and in the past even with an appointment, I had to wait a long time to have the repairs done. They also charge considerably more than a local auto repair shop would. I saved even more money because there was a local store that had a Groupon for brake pads. I had assumed that new pads were all I needed, but when they took off the rear wheels, they showed me that the rotors were also badly worn and had to be replaced. I had already paid for the pads with the Groupon, and I told them to also replace the rotors.I called Hyundai because the rotors should not have gone bad with only 12,320 miles on them, and ask that they pay the $149.80 it cost me to have them repaired. Their answer was since the repair was not done at a Hyundai Dealership, it would usually not be covered. They also said if I went to the Hyundai Dealership, and got a letter that the rotors were installed properly, there was a good chance that they would cover the cost. So of course, I went to the dealership, got a letter from them, sent in a copy of my bill along with another letter explaining everything, to their complaint department. Their response after doing all of this was NO! Not taking no for an answer, this time I wrote to the corporate office and waited three weeks for their response. I figured a multi-billion dollar company would just reimburse me, the same as they would have paid the dealership to have the repair done. As I said before, Lauren ** also said Hyundai would not cover it. I can spend $149.80 just for a good dinner, so it’s not so much the money, it’s the principle. In trying to find Hyundai’s telephone number it said that they got only 1 star for customer service, so you know this the next time you are looking for cars.

So I bought out my lease for a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition. I have reported numerous times to Hyundai’s customer care team and the Hyundai case management team, about the engine problems I have been having such as oil consumption and the intermittent stalling on roadways. The intermittent stall has almost gotten me into an accident numerous times and I almost got killed at an intersection from it stalling. I have brought my vehicle in into dealerships for inspection and servicing. Hyundai USA does nothing about it and simply brushed me off. Currently I have been out of a vehicle for over a week now since the check engine light came on and I am having problems with the ECM. My vehicle is at 104000 miles and the problems started at 70k miles. I have been in and out of mechanic shops to get it fix and it still has problems. I have requested to Hyundai underpins times that it needs a new engine and they just ignore my complaints and requests. If you are looking into purchasing a car I would never look at a Hyundai for the safety of yourself and your family. Please look elsewhere. I’m still making payments on a non working piece of junk. Please don’t be a victim. Look elsewhere.

End of last year Nov 2011, I decided to buy a new car for my wife. Considering the economy was not so good, we decided to find a car which has low fuel consumption in the category of 1.6 and below. After making various market survey with the explanation from salesman from various model, we decided to go for Hyundai i10 1.25. The consumption is around 18 to 22 km per litter according to the salesman and it is stated in the technical brochures 5.3/100km combine fuel consumption. Due to that, we bought the car. It was delivered to us on 21st of November 2011.On the first day of delivery when I drove the car home on the highway, the car suddenly stopped. Luckily, there was no car behind me. I started the car again and drove it and it has no power. Due to it is near by my house about 4 km, I decided to drive slowly back home and call for Hyundai technical people to take back the car. About half a day, the Hyundai tow car came and picked the car for repair. After about two days, the car was delivered back to me. I drove the car and it looked okay. The next day, I gave it to my wife to use it. About two weeks, my wife drove the car. She relished that the fuel consumption was very high. I took the car and make an official complaint to Hyundai. They check my vehicles and told me that it is not a problem. They also tell me that to send for the first service at 1,000 km.On 7th December 2011, I sent my car to Hyundai for the first service. I also complain about fuel consumption. After the service, I start recording the fuel consumption. From my reading and record, the fuel consumption at average is about 11.5km per litter. On 8 Jan 2012, I make another official complaint and Hyundai do a testing again and they said there is no problem. The technical guy said the fuel consumption is about 14km per litter. It is contradictory with the salesman and technical brochures as mentioned earlier. In this case, we feel that we being cheated by the Hyundai when the technical guy said it is about 14km per litter. The worst is the real consumption according to speedometer and my record, it is on average of 11.5km per litter.I made another official complaint on 30th of January 2012 during my second service. They made another try and said that it is okay about 14km per liter. I told them that I cannot get that mileage. They cannot explain to me further. I made another official complaint on 4th March 2012 and left the car for two weeks until 22nd March 2012 for them to check and give me the result. Unfortunately, when I received the car on 22nd March 2012, they did not make an attempt to check it until the last day they delivered to me, still cannot tell me the problem. I feel that Hyundai has cheated me.On 26th of March, I made another official complaint about it but until today, they did not contact me. For information, I have given the record and data of refueling and mileage reading to them. I do not know if they are interested to rectify the problem or they could not care less about it.

So I brought my car to the dealer and one of the staff brought three other staffs to check if the jack or the cable was defected; they all said there was no problem. We bought our daughter this brand new 2016 Hyundai Tuscon 1.6 T AWD Limited on July 6th. It has left her stranded twice. The engine revs, but the car does not move. We have researched this online and there are over 950 people complaining about the same exact issue. My daughter was at a stoplight the first time this happened, and the car would just not go. The second time was after she got off work at 10:00 PM and her car started and then would not go at all. This is a brand new 2016, and we bought it for her because we wanted her to have a dependable car for college. After less than a month, it has left her stranded twice. This is a MAJOR safety concern. The dealership we took it to already has several Tucson waiting for the same issue and we are told there is no fix for it yet. This is unacceptable. The car should never have been sold with this issue and no fix for it. The dealership stated they will keep the car and give a loaner. Problem is she cant drive the loaner, so this puts the whole family out now juggling cars, because she isnt 25 to drive the loaner. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Back in February, we traded our 2011 Hyundai for a 2012 Hyundai. We couldnt stop the final payment before it was sent and were told not to worry because they would just turn around and refund it.” A dozen calls and 37 days later, we finally received our refund. Then, our dealership messed up the paperwork for the refund of our extended warranty and it was sent to Hyundai Motor Finance. Now, three weeks later, we are still fighting to get that money returned to us. To top it off, because the credit for the car payment sat in the account so long and they didnt close the account because of the credit, they charged us account fees which they are now calling me at my office to collect. So they owe me $2000, which they dont seem to care about. But they are harassing me at work for $23.00, which I am told during every phone call is a mistake. We have the 2012 financed through them and have never been late. We even pay a little extra every month. In return, this is the treatment they give their customers. I have never seen such horrible service, apathy, lack of concern, and blatant disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with Hyundai Finance and will never deal with them again, even if this means this is the last Hyundai I ever purchase.

Terrible cars... worse service. I am the owner of a 2008 Hyundai Accent. It was my first new car purchase almost a decade ago. Thats great, except for when I actually took possession of the keys. Within three days the gas cap had to be replaced due to depressurizing. Then about 18 months later there was an issue where the key would go into the ignition, but would not turn. The wheel lock was not the issue. Roadside came out, and said one of the tumblers were jammed. They tapped the key with a rubber mallet, and the key went in without issue. Fast forward three years later, the original 5-year warranty had expired. This time the key would not even go halfway into the ignition. I had to pay $65 for a tow, $700 out of pocket for a new ignition, plus $200 for a rental car. The excuse I got from Hyundai of Bedford Heights, Ohio was that the weight of my keys were too heavy. There were a total of six keys on my ring. It took about a month, but they refunded me the tow and the ignition, and basically told me I was out of luck on the rental. Now there was the recall for the undercarriage rust protection in the snow-belt states late last year. Two weeks before I received the notice, the entire exhaust pipe from the front axle to the muffler fell off the car in the middle of the street. Driving it to a Midas down the street, it was found the pipe, and all the welds that attach to the undercarriage were RUSTED out... imagine that! That was $1,000 out of my own pocket. Thankfully, Hyundai offered a reimbursement program. I get a call several weeks after I filed the claim wanting to know exactly why I was filing the claim. I had yet to hear anything, so I wanted to see if they offered a status update. Sure enough... denied. So magically Hyundai offers to spray the undercarriage to prevent rust under recall, then tells you to stick it when parts have already fallen off due to the reason why the recall was initiated in the first place. I will never purchase another Hyundai again, and Ive gladly talked several friends out of purchasing their product in the last few years. I even laugh at people driving Hyundai vehicles with new tags on them, because I know the world of pain they are due for.

My car had a recall that I was notified about. My car quit on me 2 weeks ago. I had it towed home, towed to a shop to learn that my motor had locked up. The recall was something with my motor therefore Hyundai towed my car to a dealer for repair. I have had NO car for 2 weeks. The dealer had NO loaner and I am already out almost $900 trying to repair my car. I was Advised to get a rental so another charge for this vehicle that is being repaired due to a recall. I am so frustrated at this point it is behind ridiculous. Patricia **

I bought an Elantra car for Hyundai Des Moines dealer, actually I bought a lemon. I bought this car because its fuel efficiency as they advertise it is 28-38 mile, but in the first day I found that its mpg is 24 and it stated drop by time and after one week it become 17.5. That is unbelievable. It is like a big SUV. I contact the company and they requested to put it in service. This is not acceptable. A new car go to service in the first two weeks. The government must protect the customer from the liar car companies and we must be able to return the car if it is not as they said. Another serious issue was its tire - it has no traction on snow. I get stuck on snow 4 times. I need to change the tires and this is unacceptable too. Could anyone guide me how to return this car?

I called Bluelink using my vehicles call button. The back of my vehicle was open because my husband was looking at the flat from a nail I had ran over (which by the way the vehicle worked great to alert me of the issue) and the gentleman on the phone expressed verbally his frustration for having an issue hearing me. He then proceeded to ask me why I had called since someone was already working on it (my husband). Then he hung up on me. Had he stayed on the line I could have explained that we couldnt find the key for the lug nuts. This was a terribly disappointing experience for the first time using this service.

I have to say, I made a huge mistake going with my tried and true Honda or Toyota. To save a few bucks off sticker I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT. At about 60,000 miles, imagine just when the warranty really expires the car starts to stall when I start every once in a while, about every two months, finally the thing stalls in the middle of the highway. How pleasant that experience was. In any case I get towed to nearest Hyundai dealer who proceeds to charge me an upfront diagnostic fee. I have no choice but to pay to find out what is wrong. The manager of Hyundai dealer tells me I need all new spark plugs and ignition coils to the tune of $600 plus dollars. I tell him that this stall issue has been happening for a while. He says, Sorry you passed 60,000 miles. Its your fault you didnt bring to dealer sooner. I say, Ignition coil and plugs are supposed to last a minimum of 100,000 miles and you know Mr manager that the problem started well before I passed 60,000 miles, it didnt just wake up at 67,000 and drop dead. I said, Can you work with me? I will accept some responsibility, for not getting here earlier, lets split the cost. Manager says, No can do. GO to corporate and ask them.I do call corporate and go through the whole thing that these plugs and ignition coils did just break down overnight. I know I am 7,000 miles over the warranty but I feel because of your inferior parts caused the failure, is there anything you can do? The old lady at Corporate who I am speaking seemingly takes some pleasure in telling me basically to go pound sand. I go back to the dealer and explain how rude corporate was and not covering anything. Dealer says, That too bad but thats corporates decision not mine. I cant help you. So as a customer they make you go between the dealer and corporate. Corporate says not my fault ask dealer. Dealer says not my fault ask Corporate. Nice customer service, just a game. Finally I break down and ask the dealer to make the fix. At first they dont tell me that they need to only replace the ignition coil that is malfunctioning. They tell me all four have to be replaced. I happen to google it then ask if all 4 coils need to be replaced. Mgr says, Oh right just the one that is not working, that will save you money. Fine, I tell them to do the fix. Finally the car is supposedly fixed and I pay for it and get in start to drive away. To my astonishment now the car is ticking loudly. I cant believe it. Its worse. Anyway I now have to make another appointment to fix the new very loud engine ticking noise. I have not done so yet because I am going to trade the piece of junk in for a real car like a HONDA or a TOYOTA. Point is Hyundai makes cheaper crappy cars that may run for a bit then slowly break down. BTW the resale value of the Hyundai is horrible. Its pay me now or pay me later. Moral of the story you should pay a few thousand more for Honda or Toyota which is proven to last and has higher resale values. GOODBYE HYUNDAI.

Bought a brand new 2017 Hyundai Tucson eco, I only had it for a few months and its been in the shop more than I have been driving it. All types of problems with the electrical, it is at the shop at the moment I am typing this while mechanics are scratching their heads to figure out what is wrong with it and how to fix it. I called Hyundai corporate they said they would return my call, You think they did. What a joke. They have no concerns about the safety issues with this car even though I tell them that the windshield wipers stick two to three inches from take off on the windshield. AC sounds like Gremlins are about to attack you coming from the vents. Transmission drives and shifts like somebody that does not know how to drive a stick shift when this is an automatic vehicle. Gas gauge sticks even though its full and you cant put any more in it. The gas gauge will read from a half tank to 3/4 of a tank full until you hit a bump. Including with the issues the dash lights dim and brighten by themself. This car should have yellow lemons painted all over it along with every car that Hyundai puts out especially since corporate is treating their customers this way, not a very good ethic on gaining your customers Trust or to get repeat customers. I really dont understand how this company is in business. I guess thats why our government had to do a bail out on their **. My experience alone it has been a real shady experience.

In September 2011, I purchased a 4 ton truck from Hyundai East Rand. I was told that the truck was 4 tons and therefore it could carry a load up to 4 tons. Upon receiving the registration documents I realized that the truck was registered as a 3 ton truck. When I inquired about this, I was told by the sales person, Allan, that this was a fault by Korea. Apart from them selling me the truck under false pretenses, the front cabin of the truck is not straight, the radio keeps skipping channels and switches on even when the trucks ignition is switched off. The truck is sluggish and doesnt feel like a new truck. The engine is rattling, the interior is coming loose and the faults just continue. I have laid a complaint with customer service, but the guy, Sibusisu, just passes the buck and sends me from pillar to post. The dealer principal, Gavin, is not interested in talking to me to sort the problem out. They have taken the truck in for 7 days to identify the problems and they havent given me a replacement truck nor have they compensated me for the loss of income. It is no fault of mine that they sold me a truck that is not up to standard. I need compensation and a 4-ton truck! !

We have had a severe winter and have had a lot of ice and snow. On the Hyundai advertising it says, 5 years unlimited roadside assistance, with 24/7, 365 day service. The roadside assistance representative said they recently changed their rules. (Almost a year after I purchased my 2013 Sonata) I talked to representative **. She never told me what rule they changed. I told her they couldnt change the rules retroactively. She said they could and did so. She referred me to the towing service subcontractors. (Cross Country Motor Club) The motor club informed me that the car had to be less than 10 feet from the road, to be pulled back onto the road. I asked him who made that new rule and they could not tell me that. I told them that if a car slid into the ditch, it would be 10 feet from the highway 90% of the time, and that would make roadside assistance unusable 90% of the time. I threatened to go public to the internet and also press a possible lawsuit. My car is well within the 10-foot rule. They still refused. I’m handicapped and a senior citizen. The roadside assistance was a major reason why I purchased the car. Now, Hyundai is going back on their word. I started to call my dealer and before I could talk to him, a towing company called and said they would be at my place within 2 hours. I called the towing company and asked if Hyundai was paying for it and they said yes. Hyundai previously said they would call to get me help, but I would be charged $170.00. I dont think that any customer should put up with a company that treats its customer in the above manner.

The car is extremely quiet in the cabin because the gas engine turns off when approaching stops. All waiting at lights is done with practically no sound except the climate control system. After approximately 3000 miles, I began hearing a knocking, clunking sound during braking. It became worse and worse until you could count 5 to 8 knocks as you approached stops.During the 5,000 mile service, I reported this and the Hybrid Technician rode with me in the car and easily heard the noise. He correctly stated, the sound seems to be coming from the firewall behind the steering wheel. There was an identical 2016 Sonata Hybrid on the lot. Same options only a different color. We could not this car to make the noise. An appointment was scheduled to look at this. The brakes were bled and the technician admitted the problem was better but not resolved. Indeed, the sound was better for about 200 miles then the issue returned as before. Only worse. Another appointment was scheduled. This time the brake fluid was removed, something was filtered??? And fluid replaced and bled. This totally removed the issue for another 200 to 300 miles and then the noise slowly returned. Another appointment was scheduled. This time I was told to leave the car and loaner would be given to me. Instead, when I arrived, I was told I would only have to wait 30 min and then take the car. I was told the brakes had been adjusted and the car was safe. No change or resolution at all.I called Hyundai USA only to get an attitude from ** about why I would complain about such a small matter. The brakes were safe and I should expect a car with 10,000 miles to perform like the Silver Sonata Hybrid on the lot with less than 50 miles. Im not making this up. I asked ** to connect me to her boss. She refused saying, Id have to talk to her. I said I wanted to speak to her boss. She replied, He was in a meeting. I asked her to leave him a message and call me back. That was weeks ago. NO CALL BACK. At this point, I began pulling out the Lemon Law booklet and left a few pissed off messages to the service manager in Sport Durst Hyundai in Durham. This prompted a return call stating that in the previous visit nothing had been done to the car but a regional parts and service manager was in town and wanted to ride in the car.So I went back for a 4th time. Four of us climbed into the car. ** The technician, ** (Hyundais regional manager), ** (Sport Durst service manager), and I drove. It was not difficult to create the sound by feathering the brake pedal. The real noise, however, happens when the car is in start and stop driving. When its hot. They had a remote part microphone, when was turned on indicating the noise was coming from the Hydraulic Brake Actuator.Okay. The part makes this noise. For the first 3,000 miles I never heard the noise and you still cant hear it in the new Silver Sonata Hybrid which was on the lot. My response was, I dont care what kind of noise a part makes in the engine compartment, I dont want to hear this in the cabin every time I put on the brakes. The regional service manager then stated that for CUSTOMER SATISFACTION the part would be replaced. The part could have been replaced 6 weeks earlier when I brought it in, but Hyundai in California refused to authorize this replacement.Ive never owned a car even from the 70s and 80s that made such a noise when applying the brakes. This condition is beyond unacceptable. So today, I get the new part. Im almost certain that within the next 3000 to 4000 miles the noise will return as before. Im also confident that hundreds of 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owners in the next 6 months are going to be bringing in their cars with brake noise complaints. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to remove and replace this actuators.

While returning from destination 50 miles from home, we stopped to take a break. My wife noticed that the rear bumper had detached from the right side of the car. I was unable to snap it back in and forced to drive back with it detached. Because of the wind caused from driving, the bumper (made of rubber) tore even more.I brought the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited into the Hyundai dealer in La Quinta. They examined it and took photos, Their position was that it was caused by an outside force and refused to cover it under warranty, I escalated to the Hyundai Southern Regional office. After several days, they contacted me and agreed with the dealer. This is BS because the only damage they saw on the bumper was some missing paint on the underside. I checked it out and there was no paint missing, the surface was smooth, not rough as it would be if it was scraped. The paint was missing because it was not completely painted underneath. I extremely disappointed and would never buy a Hyundai again, I think they are cheaply made. The exterior dents with even a minor bump from a parked car door.

I purchased a brand new Sonata, 2.0 Limited edition May 2016. I have 1,032 miles on the car. I was backing out of a parking spot when the power steering failed. It took roadside assistance 2.45 hours to get me and tow my car to the dealership. This happened July 16, 2016. Today is July 26 and the response that I am getting from the service center is that there are major computer problems thats causing the issue and they are working with technicians from Hyundai to get it fixed. They do not know when this will be done. I did some research and saw that there was a recall on the same vehicle prior to the manufacture date of my vehicle. I also experienced an issue with the ABS brakes. When I am stopped in traffic the brake will release and I have to press harder on the brake for the car to stop rolling. Oh, this is also caused by the computer failure. From what I have read thus far on this site, and carcomplaints.com this seems to be a reoccurring...major issue and it appears that Hyundai does not know what or how to fix it. I am very upset about this whole situation right now. Paying for a car that I cant drive. Im concerned that this will continue to be a safety issue and Hyundai has no idea how to repair it. In the middle of dealing with death in the family and having to travel out of town, I was given a loaner, but they did not want me to drive that one out of state (NC), so they gave me a rental. Its a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and would you believe that I have to go trade that car out for another vehicle today because the engine light is on. I contacted Hyundai myself to see if I could get any answers, they said they were unaware of the issue and opened a case. They said they will allow the dealership 3-5 business days to respond and would get back with me. At what point does this become a serious recall issue and we as consumers get this resolved.

One major deficiency with Hyundai USA customer service is some of the Reps who answer customers questions provide wrong and misleading answer, and this could hurt and harm both customer and the company. I did get wrong answers to my questions several times. One Rep who has a clear understanding of Hyundai warranty did provide me with the correct answer after I have made several attempts until I lucked out with one customer Rep among many who resolved the issue. Hyundai dealer should also have known what is and is not covered under the warrant. Hyundai did agree that the work done should have been covered under the warrant and now the dealer will reimburse me for the charges that occurred in 2013. I do admire the fact that this particular Customer service Rep, he/she did not provide his/her name, was honest enough and put the effort to resolve the problem. I am now very satisfied with the resolution and will definitely consider purchasing another Hyundai car, assuming they invest in training the Customer Service Dept. as well as the authorized dealers on the various aspects of the 100,000/10 years warranty.

Bought a 2013 Tucson, 31000 miles 10/30/17. Purchased bumper to bumper warranty. Engine threw a rod 06/__/18. Warranty is voided due to failure to prove oil changes. After doing research I found out the engine has been recalled but only certain Hyundai and Kia models. Although engine Theta ii is same and has many complaints, the Tucson hasnt been recalled, but needs to be.

With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.

I had to laugh when I read Hyundais stated goal which they claim is to create satisfied customers, because this has not been our experience at all. In fact, my wife and I have made a promise to each other to never buy another vehicle from this dealership or another Hyundai period. I have to tell you, we usually buy new vehicles every 2-3 years because we dont want to deal with any service issues as we are busy people. Changing oil and general maintenance is about as much as we care to deal with. We normally purchase our vehicles from Toyota. In 30 years we had never had trouble them! In fact, we never had to do more than oil changes and basic care. They never broke down, all their parts worked at all times and we never got a lemon. We were so satisfied that although we wanted to try a Honda last time we were apprehensive. However, we LOVED our CRV! I miss it, and regret trading it in because unlike the Hyundai, it worked! Our CRV required mechanical assistance once in the first five years! Very shortly after the warranty expired the transmission went out! I was horrified, because I knew my warranty was up but Honda didnt think it was fair as our warranty had just ran out. Not only did they fix it free of charge, it was too new so they could not find a rebuilt transmission and put in a brand new transmission! That is the level of service we are use to, and we have found Hyundai to be the exact opposite! Our experience has been disappointing at best. We have been lied to, deceived, laughed at and disrespected. We got the runaround from the very beginning when we agreed to allow the salesman run our credit for a particular vehicle. We made it very clear that this was the vehicle we were interested in. In fact, we refused to let him run it until we picked out the vehicle we wanted to buy...then in the middle of the deal our salesman got up and left and another one came out to finish the deal. This shady salesman made the first kid look like an angel. This guy switched us into a vehicle that had more wear and mileage without our consent. My husband was exhausted after they wore us down for hours and decided to just get the car, but then we noticed that things were not working on the way home...both sales people said that I could plug my iPhone into the USB to charge it. We travel a lot and this was the main feature that had us interested in this model and it was the deciding factor on buying from Hyundai. The second salesman told us that he knew the owner personally and that the owner prided himself on providing excellent customer service and that he had his number and if he was unable to help us with any issues we could call the owner himself and he would take care of it. I later asked for the owners phone number and was laughed at and refused the number. However, that USB port was the initial reason why we chose the Hyundai instead of some of the other vehicles we had looked at around town. When we purchased the vehicle I asked about a second key and the salesman assured me he just needed to look for it and that it was there...because he had it earlier that day. When I reminded him we needed that other key fob, he looked for it and claimed it was missing and assured me that they could simply make us a new one real quick. I was concerned. He never found it. Now I am even more concerned because it is totally possible that these unethical people that I dealt with may have said key fob! After the deal was done, the story changed so we would have to make an appointment to get that key fob made. We reminded the salesperson again before leaving and he said he would call with an appointment time.On the way home we found something else wrong in the vehicle. We were never allowed to even test drive or choose ourselves! That USB port did not work at all! I was told that I could charge my iPhone with this USB port. I asked several times if they were sure it would work with my iPhone 5C and was assured that it would. I was upset because we made it clear that we wanted to buy a new car and I was assured that this vehicle was never used for anything but test drives. I dont know of many dealerships that allow animals on test drives. Yet, the air conditioner was blowing out pet fur! Upon further inspection I found dog or cat fur all over... I am allergic to cats and most dogs unless they have hair instead of fur and this was fur. Also, on the way home we stopped at the store and planned to stop a few more places as well but we could not get the back hatch to lock...which was a security and safety concern. I called and most of my concerns were dismissed and made light of. The second salesperson (they switched in the middle of the deal) did not believe there was dog hair so he wanted us to bring the car back to show him, so we did, driving all the way back to Bend. I think he knew it was there all along but figured we would just not want to hassle with it. I was insulted as he made it sound as if I was a liar which took a lot of nerve after just making one deceitful claim after another to us. He made me think that we could exchange the car for another new car and this was the only reason we agreed to that drive. He acknowledged the presence of dog hair and did not know how that got there. We do not own any pets. He basically did nothing to assist us at that time and thus the trip was a waste of our time. He promised to make an appointment to have the fur removed and all scents removed and to have car mats installed. The salesman called to say he made an appointment to have the car treated to eliminate scents and hair, have the USB port fixed and the back latch fixed. After calling to insure the parts were in we arrived at the appointment and were asked, Oh did you make this appointment online? All of the parts were not there but they said they could replace the key fob and that they kept the mats in stock and they did not need to be ordered as the salesperson stated! However, the machine used to get out the hair and scent was never arranged.I was there all day long. They wanted me to make yet another appointment to finish the work. Then they wanted me to leave my vehicle for a few days so they could order the part again and get it fixed. Its a good thing I did not agree to that because it was at least two weeks before they called back! My husband did not trust them by that point anyways and flat out refused to let me leave the vehicle there. They claimed that the treatment for the hair would take most the day so I suggested that they just fix the latch and the key fob and make it right in some way as I had picked most of the hair out of the vehicle myself by the time of the appointment (resulting in an asthma attack). I could not drive it the way it was and had to do something. That day they literally had not done anything all day long. The key fob was not fixed, they said they ordered a defective one and they needed to reorder that... The only thing that was in and all they did all day long was to put in car mats that would have taken less than five minutes yet they made me wait several hours...only to tell me that I would have to make an appointment and return to Bend...yet again. Before they even started I asked them if they had the parts and was told yes. This has been a huge waste of my time for a car I never wanted. I wanted the one we test drove that they sold out from under us. This is hardly a way to make a customer satisfied! So, we came back today and guess what? Even though we checked twice this time to make sure parts were in, they were not! We were lied to time and time again. I have the messages from both incidents and both messages say all of these parts are in...yet they were not. Yep, we got there today after calling and speaking with Mr. Nasty Tude, I mean Mr. ** and was assured once again that the parts were in. When we arrived ** was there and we told them we had a bad experience last time and wanted to make sure all the parts were really there before they started as we did not have time to waste. He was rude which just added to our frustration. My husband told him that I had already spoken to someone in Corporate and to just leave the hatch alone and fix the USB. He gave me a smart ** acknowledgement and held out his hand for the keys. It was a good half hour before they took the car back even though they were not busy and there was no vehicle in the bay they pulled it into. ** was nasty saying we must have made this appointment online...that seems to be the standard answer for everything in your non-service department. We did not make this appointment online.WE did not want to make another wasted trip to Bend so even though after two weeks they finally called to tell us that the part was in we called back before leaving for the appointment this morning to insure that the parts were indeed there. We asked ** when we arrived and he said all of the parts were there, they were not but he did not care and said we would have to make another appointment to come back. When we told him that we called ahead of time to insure the parts were in and checked with him when we got there he got even ruder and said that he wanted us to leave and never come back into the service department/dealership. Not a problem! But please know that I will be reviewing this dealership and that this time I will contact corporate in writing for legal purposes. Please note that I have not forgotten my promises to add reviews. I have a draft ready to go and my husband is currently working on the complaint for the BBB. We have given your dealerships more opportunities that it deserves. We would love to prevent this, we want you to make this right, go back to the beginning and give us the vehicle we ran our credit to purchase. The same one or a 2015 model that is brand new without scratches, dirt, dog or cat hair, etc. We should not have to deal with defective parts, as we purchased a new vehicle, not a used one! Written promises were made and part of our purchase agreement. The dealership failed to meet these and therefore it cancels this contract and we want our Honda back within 7 business days or we will take legal action. We have given the dealership many opportunities to make this right with no resolution and have been treated with grave disrespect. This is the worst car dealer I have ever dealt with and I will be filing a claim with the BBB.

Well I have written many reviews and yet I truly do not think anything has or will change. I could sum up Hyundai quickly or at least the warehouse that ships out their parts for service, Incompetent. I hate using a word like that. See, some people just loosely use this word on companies just to rant but Hyundai is truly not a well oiled machine like the cars that they sell. At least the company doesnt worry about the management, or any sales reps that are selling the vehicles. That company runs entirely on the market pushing for an affordable and reliable vehicles. When it comes back to the human aspect of the company like CUSTOMER SERVICE, out the door it goes. I have had an awful experience with their service and being shipped out wrong parts for the last 8 weeks now. I have yet to see my car and all Hyundai is doing is taking more time to complete a task. The loaner vehicles that they have issued me (now 2) is not what Im paying for nor do I want it. This service dept has had my car in the shop for 8 WEEKS to just replace a motor in a sunroof. Thats it... But now the Gm will not take my calls due to he is ALWAYS too busy and the Sales Manger is so brash and rude to me I feel like he thinks he owns the place the way he talks to me. Just an FYI, If customers dont come and buy the vehicles on the lot, then you dont have a job. I think in the game that you play, you should be more grateful to the customers that provide for you. I would give this company and experience a 0 but it is not an option. I have written so many of these complaints that this one is just a brief summary of the incompetents of this company and truly I cannot waste anymore time on a concrete wall that will not budge. Sorry Hyundai you have taken this route because you use to be on top of your game. I know that I am only one person you have decided to pushed away but we add up quickly and your company depends on us, the consumer. I hope that this message reaches out to the top of wherever it needs to go to and some sort of something happens as oppose to you guys treating me with disrespect. I am only frustrated because you have yet to reach out to me and consult and make better. As a company that deals with a lot of customers I would feel that would be your top priority, not to just sell cars and then leave the customer high and dry. Thanks Hyundai for the experience, you have truly made me very upset and shown me again that dealership as yours just will never get it. Its not about you guys, its always about us... THE CUSTOMER.

From the deceptive pushy dealer at Hyundai to the customer service line to the service department. In all my years of owning a vehicle never have I had to deal with such unprofessional people. I regret so much buying from Hyundai and would never buy from them again. I traded in a brand new Honda Accord paid off and needed more room for my son to fit in comfortably and decided to look at Hyundai. The dealer was cool to take my paid off brand new vehicle and get me a SUV much to my surprise the name brand must be jinxed. As soon as I purchased the vehicle from Hyundai a month later I had a car accident where another person hit me. Taking it back to Hyundai I wanted a authorized Hyundai dealer to repair my vehicle which there wasnt one in my area, they convinced me at the dealer to trade in the crashed vehicle for a new one again and much to my amazement was reluctant after seeing the cost of payment for another vehicle. The pushy aggressive finance officer upset me to the point that I wanted to call the cops cause he wouldnt give me back my keys to my vehicle in a desperate hope that he would get me into the new Hyundai. I went from a monthly payment of $180 with a payoff balance of $8000 to a another Hyundai vehicle same year to $400 payment with a $20,000 payoff when they finally convinced me at the dealer. It was a good decision I finally took the vehicle and thats where all my headaches began. They are good to take your money quick but as far as customer service on your account through financing with Hyundai is a also a headache, and the dealer well no comment at this point. STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!!!

2011 Hyundai Sonata - I want to like this car; it has amazing power and gas
2011 Hyundai Sonata - I want to like this car; it has amazing power and gas mileage for its size and power. Sometimes I can get as low as 5.3l100 km on the highway. But here’s a breakdown of problems I have had: 1) The gauge cluster was replaced. 2) The odometer is no longer accurate. 3) The air bag computer was replaced. 4) The tie rods were replaced. 5) The sway links were replaced.6) The remote start is flaky. 7) Some points of the taillights were rubbing paint off the rear fenders (on the side). 8) The trunk kept chipping its edges because it kept touching the body and bumper when shutting. 9) The emergency brake kept seizing up in spite being used every day. 10) The engine seems to rattle more than it has when new. Yes, I know gdi engines are noisy but this one has a deceleration rattle that sounds like a timing chain or valve rattle. The last mechanic said it was normal. I had the same year and model used for a day and no engine rattle whatsoever.11) The interior has many creaks and rattles and the front end sounds down right awful of bumps from 0-50 kmh; clunk, clunk, thunk, etc. but they say all parts in front end are tight. The car is just under 80,000 kms. Most these sounds have been there since it was new. This car sounds like a 10-year old car with the front end clunks, interior noises at times and engine noises.I spoke very patiently and calmly with HMC Canada but was given no reassurance. They said, “So sorry sir, your complaints have been documented.” I ask, “Are you going to consider giving me an extended or a good deal on a warranty for this trouble pit to calm my fears about keeping her past warranty?” The response was, “We dont do that sir.” I guess I should not have been surprised.Hyundai has come a long, long way in terms of refinement etc. Ive had 4 that have been pretty darn reliable. Our 99 Accent went almost 300,000. It did not burn a drop of oil; just a lot of small parts replaced but the engine was bulletproof. But as they have gotten more complicated, the longevity seems to have dipped downwards. Ill consider something else next time because just like my washer experience, they have no interest in keeping a long time customer.

Such a shame. We are a growing company with 2 Hyundai iMax vans. And we’ll need more soon. One of them had an engine seizure at just after 5 years, and only 120,000 on the clock. I bought my car in October 2011. I have been so far 13 times at the dealership, one of them being over a month because the chassis broke! I havent complained until today because my steering wheel started ripping apart due to the humidity. I went to the dealer for it to be replaced and Hyundai Canada apparently only replaces the steering wheel with the older model being the silver trim. Moreover, the trim was already damaged. I have the dark silver. I mean really Hyundai ran out of the dark silver trim steering wheel. So I asked them to put back my old steering wheel even though it is ripped. In one week I am going to see them again for a drive axle problem and re-install my old steering wheel.

Many issues from engine failure (they did replace the engine) to warped brake rotors (will not honor warranty to bad struts and noisy front suspension). Called Hyundai and their field reps are useless and Hyundai just does not care about individual customers - what they are concerned with is the perception that they have the best warranty and care about their customers - not the actual act of doing so. My complaint is against Hyundai USA and Rogers Hyundai for pathetic service
My complaint is against Hyundai USA and Rogers Hyundai for pathetic service. We purchased our car from the deceptive car dealer, Ed Napleton Kia in Elmhurst, with a deceptive warranty sale and forging my name on a document in February 2017. Our Veloster was finally put on the road at the end of February and we hear howling sounds through the roof and found rust throughout the car (engine, under driver seat, and trunk). No floods listed on CarFax through. Hmmmm. The car is supposed to still be under the manufacturers warranty and Hyundai corp rep, Czar was supposed to be helping to resolve. We took it to Rogers in the south loop and their service was horrendous and they are liars. (See Yelp!) They never investigated our concerns. They were rude and ignorant and reported back to corporate they was not told about the rust, although it was in the open ticket and verbally told. Their service center was so backlogged. They would do anything to avoid doing their jobs. After speaking back with Czar at corporate about this, their findings was they were in a mixed state to make a decision, which really mean... WE CANT SERVICE YOU without more inconveniences we are going to cause you. This car was taken to McGrath for the rust originally and now Rogers and both have dropped the ball. Now I am being told to take it to another place to run a diagnostics, leave it, and its your issue to find your way back home since Indiana toll roads are where I heard it and in Chicago, the speed limit is 45 mph and they will not have their service men get a ticket to replicate the problem from an original call back. HYUNDAI CORPORATE DOES NOT BACK THEIR ISSUES, and make many excuses to wiggle out of their warranties.

I bought my 2012 Sonata GLS brand new in March of 2012 with 36 miles on it.
I bought my 2012 Sonata GLS brand new in March of 2012 with 36 miles on it. Never a single mechanical issue with it until this past January 2015. My car randomly shut off while driving home from getting my oil changed at the dealer. After trying to figure out the problem on our own with no luck, I called the dealership the next day and they told me to call Hyundai Roadside Assistance and have the car towed into the shop so they could take a look at it and figure out what was going on.I called roadside assistance and after going round and round with the man on the phone, they located my car and towed it to the dealership. A day or two later, I hadnt heard anything about the status of my car, so I called the service dept and asked what was going on. I was told Oh! I was JUST about to call you! and they informed me that my engine locked up. When I asked how that happens and was told that he had no idea how it happened because I always have my car serviced at the dealer so they have records that my cars maintenance has been kept up with. I had to ask what I was supposed to do about a vehicle while they waited for Hyundai to approve a new engine. Then he asked my age, I informed him I was 25 and then he told me they could put me in a loaner car but probably not till the next day. They put me in a loaner car, the engine was approved and put in and they called me to come pick up my car. About a week after picking up my car, my check engine light came on. I was nervous because I was about to leave to go on a 5 hour trip. I called and they told me to come in so they could check it. I went in and the lady told me it was basically the car registering that there had been a problem before which didnt make a lot of sense to me, but she cleared the light and I went on my way.Not long after that, I was on the highway and my car was jerking while I was driving. I called the dealership right away and the man told me that is normal. It’s basically the car re-learning the new engine. I took his word for it because I dont know much about cars and that made a little sense. My check engine light came on again and I called the dealer. I was told I would be charged a $90 diagnostic fee for them to see why it was on. Not long after that, I was sitting in a pretty long line in the drive-thru of a restaurant and looked down to see my temperature warning light on and my temperature gauge was all the way to the hot side. As soon as I started driving, it quickly went down and after having it looked at, I was informed that my fan is not working which is why the car overheats when it sits idle, but is fine when driving.I then went to Advanced Auto to have them see why my check engine light was on. The associate informed me that it was my camshaft position sensor and my crankshaft position sensor. I took my car into the dealer because it was due for an oil change. While I was there, they told me there was a recall with something to do with the computer. While I was there, I talked with a woman at the service desk and explained the whole situation to her. She told me that sensors arent covered under my PowerTrain warranty and that even though the engine and the sensors were new they still were not covered and would be my responsibility to fix. They changed my oil and they fixed the recall and 5 days later, my car wont even start.Today (6/9/15) I once again, called Hyundai roadside assistance and they picked up car up from my home and took it to the same dealer this morning. I received a call this afternoon from the same man I dealt with when they put the new engine in. He informed me that my starter went bad and that it is not covered under my warranty and there is no way that could have been our fault from putting in a new engine and they would need to put a new one in before they could check to see why the car was overheating. He said to get the new starter in, I was looking at around $500 and he would go ahead and get that put in for me now. Didnt even bother to ask if thats what I wanted him to do which I didnt. I told him NOT to do that, and that I would be looking into other options. I have literally NEVER been more frustrated with a company in my entire life. I pay a great deal of money every month because I wanted to buy a brand new car so that I wouldnt have all these problems, yet here I am. No car and no idea what to do to get this situation taken care of when I dont have the money to pay for all these issues.

I took my 2009 Santa Fe to our local dealer for a leak in the factory-installed sunroof. The first time, they supposedly made adjustments to tighten the window down. The second time, they said the seal was bad and they had to order a new sunroof window. My question was why they didnt find this the first time. The third, they replaced the window. Now, this one leaks worse than the original. This has happened all in the last 3 weeks. I have no faith in the dealer that is doing the work. But since it is still in factory warranty, I am stuck. We have had nothing but trouble with this vehicle since we have purchased it. But we are stuck with this lemon for a little while longer.
