I was confused to see two emails with 3 different packages. You are forced to buy one in order to get the other two. Mike, sales rep, was not helpful in assisting in my request to speak with a manager, to receive a better understanding. I will not buy another Hyundai, and I will notify any else who plans to buy one with the bluelink. I just spoke with Mike at 7:00 pm, on May 21, 2018. I was very disappointed in Hyundai.

Your roadside assistance is horrific.. I had a flat tire. Could not inflate with your inflate a tire. The tire was tore up because you didnt have spare. Had to call roadside. They never showed up. This was Sunday 2/22/15. I was told they could not tow me to dealership until the following day. If I would have left my car on road it would have been towed per state trooper.. Thank goodness for the kindness of the trooper in Glen Allen, VA. He took my son to merchant tire, dropped him off. His girlfriend had to stay with car and the trooper checked on her. I could not get to the car soon enough and the trooper came back and picked my son up and took him back to care. Thank you so much trooper for your care and concern for my young son and his girlfriend stuck on the side of the road. I have also been on hold for 45 minutes waiting to get thru to Hyundai roadside, no answer yet. So much for your care and concern and this will be reported to 12 news on your side... The customer service rep was very hateful when we got thru the first time, said could not tow to dealership after hours. Bla, bla, bla. Thanks Hyundai for your help. I will be trading my car for another make and model. Goodbye.

While driving at 70 miles an hour on I-87 using cruise control, the car jerked, check engine light came on and the car completely stopped accelerating. There was no response when pressing the gas pedal. Luckily, we were near an exit. We were not rear ended by a truck and were able shift lanes and to roll off and put our hazard lights on. On the exit, the car came to a dead stop. After checking the engine, we turned it off and the car started back up. And we were able to drive to a local service station concerned about driving any farther. The mechanic was able to determine there was an error code related to the throttle control. On restarting the car, the engine lights reset and the car ran normally. We continued on our trip. When we returned home, we brought the car to the Hyundai dealer where it was purchased to service the car. After they examined the car, we were told there was nothing they could do as there were no error codes in memory. They said that we should continue to drive it until it happened again. When I mentioned that there was a technical service bulletin regarding the throttle sensor and it should be either replaced or tested, I was told that they could not do anything until an error was recorded in the memory of the computer. It was because Hyundai USA would not cover anything under warranty, even though this was a serious safety concern and would most likely to occur again. When I asked if it was likely to occur again, I was told most likely it would happen soon and to be careful.A month later, when traveling on a long trip, it happened again on the Taconic State Parkway in New York. I was traveling at about 65 miles per hour. This time there was no shoulder. But I was able to partially pull off the road and put on my hazard lights as cars drove by and avoided hitting mine. Based on my prior experience, I turned the car off and was able to restart and move again. This same situation occurred four (4) more times as I was able to get my car finally back home to the Hyundai dealer to service the car.The Hyundai dealer replaced both the throttle sensor and the pedal assembly. The car appears to be working properly for the last two weeks. Having researched the problem with acceleration, I have learned that many others have experienced this similar and potentially dangerous problem. After speaking with other Hyundai service technicians, I was told off the record that this was not an uncommon problem. As the sensor is less than $85, I am not sure why Hyundai did not address this problem when I first brought the car or as a recall. The consequences could be much more serious.

I have a 2002 Sante Fe. It was a recall because the back end rotted. I did not know about this, so I took it to my mechanic because the vehicle was not driving right. He called me to tell me that the back end was rotted. He called Hyundai to see if it would be covered under a warranty. They said it was a recall, so they would take care of it. I had it towed at my expense. I had asked if I could get vehicle on loan and they said they dont do that. It was not my fault that this happened, so why do I have to pay out of my pocket when it was a defect on Hyundai? It is going to cost me around $300 for a rental. This is bad customer service. Please let me know if this is the policy. I am being put out because of a problem that Hyundai caused. I am very upset about this. What can you do for me. Thanks for your time in this matter. I do not want to bad mouth your company for bad customer service.

2008 Hyundai Veracruz - We bought this car in the summer of 2010 and in 3 1/2 years, I have replace 13 bulbs in this car. My wifes headlight just went out again and this will be the fourth set of headlights, and no these arent the cheap ones either. Interior door panels are tattered. The engine has been great, no problems at all. The only other problem was with the air bag. The air bag light came on so we took it back to the dealer and they told us that it would cost us $1000 to repair it. Meanwhile, my wife had a little bumper damage that needed taken care of so she had taken it in to a body shop (not a Hyundai dealer) and he said that he had a friend that owned an auto service shop and said that he would take it over and see if he could fix it. We received a call later saying that the air bag light just needed reset and that was that. I really doubt that I would buy another Hyundai.

All I have to say is that the description provided by the sales person of this vehicle Tucson 2017 I leased is so inaccurate. He described this vehicle as good gas mileage, features, and speed. First of all he said 25mpg in city and 29mpg on highway, I travel a lot and it takes way less than that. Second of all key fob does not open the trunk even though it has a picture of the open trunk on it, I believe it is false advertisement, as it show that pic. I will read the manual and see what it say, to take further actions on this. I just dont know why would it have that pic if it will only unlock it, makes no sense for that use the unlock button. Third people are not trained well as when I called in to check if it was an electric problem the person who answer said that she checked the users manual and it was supposed to unlock it. Ask me to bring it to service to check. When I took it there, the service guy cut me off and said nope it only unlocks it and walked away, not even let me finish my question, so I had to leave, because no one will pay attention to me after they heard him saying that. Then they call me for my plates, the receptionist completely ignored me for a while, they gave me the plates and ask me if I want some one to help me put the plates. I said yes gratefully, and she page someone in service, after waiting for 30 minutes decided to leave as no one showed. This is the first time I ever review someone, so I dont know what else to put, but what I can tell you is that it is the WORSE purchase/contract I ever did. I wish I can return the car, but it will kill my credit so I have to stick with it. I hope you read this before buying/leasing a car and dont go for a Hyundai or not go to that Hudson Hyundai in NJ. I will read the manual and see what it says about the key fob, maybe it is false advertisement, and I will post it here. Dont get stocked in a car like this, it REALLY SUCKS, to live with it for three years.

Do not use this car dealership to buy a used car. I bought a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. The car was used and I realized used cars have problems, but they knowingly reset the engine codes on this car to clear bad catalytic converter codes out of the car computer (there has to be laws against this). A couple days after I had purchased the car the check engine light came on. When I took it to a local dealership the dealer told me that with a reading that high the cars had to have been bad for quite some time. So the car was misrepresented to me during purchase. The car also had traction control light on and traction control not working, a problem with the accelerator (which could be the transmission I dont know yet) and a cracked windshield. The car also had 4 different kinds of tires on it, a couple had dry rot and didnt seem safe to me (consequently I replaced the tires first, they werent safe). The online listing didnt represent any of these details and neither did the dealer. I drove all the way from Dallas to Sherman to purchase the car. After spending the time to drive from Dallas to Sherman we got the sum total of about 10 words out of **. This is after he told us he would be available when we got there. Instead he worked with someone that was obviously buying a more expensive car. Dont buy a car from liars and cheats, stay away from this dealership. This dealership clearly should get out of the used car market, most new car dealerships stand behind the used cars they choose to sell on their lots and guarantee them. This dealership however does not fall into that category. You may be ok buying a new car here but I would strongly advise you to not buy a used car from them. They shouldnt be selling them. To top all of this off, they knew I was buying this car for a first time 17 year old female driver. Can you believe it, shame on them. I will fork out the money and fix what they should have. All I asked is they help cover the catalytic converter because they are at fault with this. I would have done the rest. But they refused so I am choosing to review them and let the consumer chose to use them or not based on my review. I hope you dont for your sake.

I purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent in November 2019 at Genesis of Cherry Hill in Marlton, NJ. This car is a piece of junk, defective, and unsafe to drive. Hyundai provides a car buyer with a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty; not because they stand by the quality and workmanship of the vehicle, but because youll need the warranty to have the car repaired. My car has been in the Hyundai Service Shop for the same problem four times since I purchased the car. The car constantly pulls to the left. You must hold the steering wheel for dear life; otherwise, you could have an accident. On 1/2/20 Hyundai Service adjusted the steering wheel sensor. Within 8 days, 1/10/20 I had to return the car to Hyundai Service for the same problem. Now, Hyundai Service determines the car needs a 4 wheel alignment and another steering sensor adjustment. On 5/19/20 the car was returned again to Hyundai Service for the same problem and the technician determines the rear solid beam axle and left and right front lower control arms must be replaced. Hyundai Service had to order these parts, so now a 4th trip to Hyundai Service was required to fix the pulling to the left. I dropped my car off on 6/1/20 and went to pick the car up on 6/10/20. I test drove the car in the presence of 2 Hyundai technicians and the service manager. After all this work done on the vehicle my car still pulls to the left. Hyundai Service had the audacity to state that all Hyundai Accents may perform the same way, really. Hyundai also indicated that the car passed their testing protocol for driving 40 mph and was deemed as a fixed vehicle in their eyes. However, on my road test the vehicle failed at 40 mph and at greater speeds. Hyundai Service has failed to address my complaint about my car and the car was left at the dealership. I have been making payments on this new car which has spent more times in the shop than on the road. Consumers should think twice on purchasing a Hyundai whether for yourself, your spouse, or child. Your safety is at risk each time you get behind the wheel of this car.

I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

My check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 & 1/2 months. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was not covered under my extended warranty, which make no sense to me. They said this is because I was not the original owner, since I bought it used & bought the extended warranty, it was not covered. Consumers please beware when buying Hyundai car. I bought Hyundai Sonata 2011 in June 2014 and the car is a piece of crap. So far I have this car almost 2 years and I already spent tons of money fixing it. Something is always wrong with it. The electrical, the gas, the brake, the fuel line... In addition I received 3 different recalls notices that the car is not safe to drive... Really 3 recalls in less than 2 years? What the **??? I have not even driven 100,000 miles or 5 years on this car yet and have spent thousands of dollars fixing the piece of JUNK/GARBAGE. So stay clear from this brand and do your homework thorough. Dont just Google it because they paid lots of advertisements money to be on top of the search page so all you see is great things about this piece of CRAP. Instead looking at buyers comments on various websites, or ConsumerAffairs to get a real picture and its condition before you buy. Personally, they LOST me as a customer forever. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HYUNDAI AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY KNOW ABOUT THIS. Very angry Hyundai car buyer.

I am extremely disappointed by the way Hyundai USA decided to handle my handsfree case. This issue was present since day 1 of us purchasing the vehicle in 2017. I spent a lot of my time at home and away from work troubleshooting and sending several audio recordings to the company and have been able to reproduce the issue with every single phone call, however the dealership kept the vehicle for several hours and returned it back stating we dont see a problem. I purchased a new phone, and switched 3 different carries, however the problem never went away. I am extremely saddened by Hyundais lack of ownership of the issue. The least Hyundai could do is try to replace the radio or the microphone to eliminate the issue, instead Hyundai decided to close the case. However, after this experience, I will be taking my business to a company that stands behind their customers. It is such a shame for the entire Hyundai team that they wont stand behind the customer and fix something that is still under warranty.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Accent which I bought April 1st 2011. Since I bought it, I have had issues with the rubber around the outside of the windshield, which started coming off 2 months after I bought it. I have had to get it fixed twice. The first time they glued it back, it came off again. The second time, they replaced the whole piece. Now December 2011, it is coming off again! Im going on my third time. Then in August, I found out that it came misaligned from the factory and the dealers solution was to put a shim so they could go in and align it properly, that took 2 months to fix and now my tires are warped because of it! By the way, Im still waiting for new tires and it is now December! I spoke to the dealership in order to look at my options, because I no longer want this car. I dont want to deal with the hassle of repeated maintenance (its a brand new car!) and the solution to my lemon is to trade it in so they can squeeze more money out of me for a car that Ive had for 8 months! This was my first brand new car ever. How disappointing. My old 98 Ford Escort gave me less trouble than this. 5 times to get your brand new car fixed in the span of 8 months! What a mistake. Never again!

This is not exactly what happened, but more like a what is about the Hyundai Elantra. I have just found this website when I decided to do some searching for Hyundai information, especially the Hyundai Elantras so-called automatic transmission. You see, in July 2010, I was desperately in need of some good transportation for myself and my family, and I decided to take a look at Hyundai. I am embarrassed to say that I bought two Elantras at the same time. Im even more embarrassed to admit that I traded a really nice Impala for them. OK, time to cut through the chase about the Elantra automatic. I have a very strong belief that Hyundai is under geared or lacks adequate gearing for the motors power band. Admittedly, Im no expert and unable to spew out technical jargon on the subject. But shortly after becoming an owner of my two Hyundais, I noticed that there was something very substandard about how these things shifted and accelerated. Ive begun reading other peoples reviews and I believe some of them are describing the very same condition, but maybe a little less technically aware of the actual problem. Its true that the vehicle will upshift during acceleration, putting the motor into a lugging state, if that is possible for a gasoline motor as it is for a diesel motor. Just to reiterate, Im not an expert on the subject but actually would love to hear someones expert opinion on the matter. Anyhow, these people are right such as Della of Omaha, NE - i.e. during normal acceleration. The vehicle shifts, then has very little power and begins to chug and vibrate so you have to punch the accelerator to go back down into the gear you just upshifted from. The condition is somewhat circumvented the more rapidly you accelerate, but soon you may find the RPMs back in that inadequate power range. I dont think this poses a problem for salespeople during a test drive because they know most people are going to punch the accelerator to see how it accelerates, meanwhile not noticing this annoying flaw. Now there is something in the drivers manual about manually downshifting for some situations and I think this can help some, but I think there is a tendency to forget to shift back into high gear. So to me, that makes it questionable about whether or not the vehicle is really automatic shifting, even though it is technically an automatic transmission. Ive heard people saying they went to the dealer experiencing this condition. Im not surprised theyre not acknowledging a problem with the vehicle. After all, they knew about it when they sold it to you. Without quoting right from the warranty, Im pretty sure it says something about vehicle performance that is characteristic to all the vehicles deems it to be normal. I would guess its a car companys right to sell you a crappy car, and the dealers too. It just proves people will do anything for a buck, even to whip out their Motor Trend magazine where it was their car of the year. So how did that happen, are they a creditable magazine? I just think they knew they were building a crappy car and they got people going around saying its great.

My husband bought me the 2012 Hyundai Azera for my 50th birthday. Every year the battery dies. It is going on it 5th battery!! Last year I threw a fit over the same thing every year. They said it is because when I stop the car, forget to put it in park. This did not make any sense because of the fact it dies around the same time each year. They keep it for weeks without a loaner car!! I wrote Hyundai and told them my problem, they were complete no help. I had no problems with my last car. This car has been a complete nightmare. Ive leased many cars over the years, but never have I had a more negative experience than I had with Hyundai Finance. There was, apparently an end-of-lease termination charge (unrelated to the condition of the vehicle, purely an administrative/profit charge) that was identified in the very small print at the end of my lease agreement. When I turned in the vehicle along with the inspection report that showed no damage and no charges, I inquired whether there was anything owed and was told no, youre good to go.I never received an invoice of any kind from Hyundai indicating that there was a balance due following the termination of my lease agreement (5/31/2018). I was unaware that there was a balance due until my bank notified me that there had been an adverse credit report on Experian. While Hyundai called my home and left several voicemails, they failed to indicate the reason or purpose of their calls and I assumed, since my lease was over and the car had been returned, that they were sales/promotional related calls, similar to the hundreds of other such calls I receive that go unanswered. Hyundai had the capability to take direct draws on my account during the lease period. I received an email communication from Hyundai on May 1, 2018 stating that my financial obligation was complete and that the payment schedule was being deleted at Hyundai’s request.Following return of the lease vehicle, Hyundai shut down access to my online account with them; consequently I could not log-in to see details about any balance due. Although I had previously updated my address of record on the Hyundai Finance website, Hyundai apparently contacted my prior employer and sent notifications to my prior employers address, rather than contact me at my home address. As I was no longer an employee there, my former employer did not act on these communications other than to inform Hyundai Finance that I was no longer an employee. After seeing the adverse entry on my credit report, I contacted Hyundai to inquire what was going on. That is when they suddenly informed me that there was a past due amount. I informed them that I had never received an invoice and was unable to look at my account online because they had closed it and requested that they fax the invoice to me. As soon as I received the invoice, it was paid in-full within 48 hours. The people who I spoke with at Hyundai were rude and unprofessional and completely devoid of any sense of customer service orientation. They didnt care at all that I had never received the invoice. Despite explaining in detail what had happened, they refused to do anything to correct the adverse credit rating report that was fully their own administrative failure! My advice to anyone purchasing or leasing a Hyundai vehicle -- work with your own bank and stay completely away from Hyundai Finance. You will regret ever having established a business relationship with them.

I have a 2007 Azera. This is not my first Hyundai, but this seems to be the one I am most disappointed in. I bought the car used in 2011. The car was clean, drove great, was good on gas mileage, then the check engine light came on. I took the car on a regular basis for oil changes and maintenance and when they hooked the car up to find out why the engine light was on, they had no answer. It didnt even register that it was on. So that was perplexing. Ive learned to live with the check engine light - it goes on and off when it feels like it. Then the motor on my sunroof stopped working, it will no longer open or close all the way. About a week ago I was leaving for work and I went to get in my car and the seat was pushed all the way back, now as a woman I panicked and thought someone had been in my car, but that wasnt the case. When I finally felt safe to enter my car (there was no one hiding in my back seat),I adjusted my seat back to normal manually.I started driving down the road and the seat readjusted itself without me touching anything, once again I panicked but this time it was because I couldnt reach the pedals. I turned around came back home and switched cars with my husband because I had no idea what the problem was and I didnt want to get on the highway and not be able to reach the pedals. He drove the car to his work and not only did the seat keep adjusting itself but the steering wheel moved also. On the way home that day, he said it seemed to be fine. Now a week to the day later, today, I was leaving work to come home which is a 48 mile drive, my cars seat was all the way back again. I tried adjusting it, I shut the car off and tried to start over, NOTHING - the seat kept automatically going back. Is this safe? Should I be driving this car when I cant even reach the pedals? Im very afraid at this point that I am going to get into an accident or cause an accident. What do you suggest?

Please be super careful when leasing a Hyundai. Hyundai Finance, at the time of return of the vehicle, will most likely charge you a large (return) disposition fee, perhaps as high as $400.00. If your tires are worn (this is beyond the excess wear and tear charge of $.20 a mile), they will charge you $195.00 per tire (far greater than a Walmart retail price and even the retail price at a Hyundai dealer). So you will essentially be buying new tires for the next owner. Good luck with your new Hyundai.

My 87 year old Mother took her 2010 Hyundai Elantra to her local dealer who has always done her oil changes. She received a call from the service manager telling her the underside of her car was so severely rusted that repairs would be so expensive. He suggested she get rid of her car stating that it would be dangerous for her to drive it. Her car has 19,000 miles and is two months away from being paid off after a five year auto loan. The car had last been brought in for an oil change in December 2014. No one ever mentioned any concerns about rust only five months ago! So, apparently all of this rust happened in a period of four months! I went with her to pick the car up. We are scheduling a second opinion for this week. Something is just not right. To be continued.........

I have owned my 2012 Sonata for 1 yr and 10 months. The chrome trim on the hood was noted to be bubbling up, when I took it for its 60K mile maintenance. Its not rust, but rather bumps coming up on the trim work. Definitely a workmanship/manufacturer issue. I paid extra for the best warranty I could get when I bought the car. That was for 10 yrs and 100,000 miles, bumper to bumper, everything included they say when they sell you the car. Incidentally my warranty was extra at the time and not part of the special 10yr /100k they offered later. I paid around $2K extra for it. The dealership stated they would see if the corporate office would cover it because now they say the trim is not included in the bumper to bumper 10yr/100K warranty but for only 3yr/36K! How can they change the rules?? The corporate office stated they would not cover it. The service representative said the dealership might cover it under Goodwill. However he called today to tell me they wont cover it either! Guess they have no Goodwill there. (The dealership that lacks goodwill is Carl Gregory in Brunswick, Georgia.) So what about my Everything warranty?? The point is it should have been covered. Who wants to buy a car from a company that doesnt stand behind their warranty or their words? Secondly who wants a car that falls apart at 1 yr and 10 months!!? Not even halfway through most car payments. I am upset and stuck with my Hyundai Junk and I wont be buying a Hyundai again. They are not a reputable company. (Just got sued yesterday for $100 million lying about their emissions.) Beware!

I been having Warranty Issues since I bought my 2010 Elantra . Starting out with failing Brake Lights to causing misfire and to end it the EPS. When going to the Dealership for the engine issue, I had been told I have water leaking into my cylinder that needs to be cleaned out due to my car not having the engine light on. The same day the car had seemed to misfire and the engine light came on. I drove to the first Auto repair shop I saw and they run the diagnostic and it showed a code. They told me the issue was under warranty and I should bring it to the Dealership. I asked if they could clean the grease out a little so it would stop jerking. They did. I took it ten miles down the road to the Dealership and left it with them. Next day, they called me and told me all I had is some water in my cylinder and that it wasnt covered by warranty. So when I got to the dealership, he showed me the bill what was even more as that from the repair shop to fix the gasket. They explained to me they couldnt pull a code and the code given by me to them wasnt making any sense. So I took my car to Firestone and had them look into the so-called water in my cylinder. As they they couldnt find any water anywhere. Long story short, they didnt honor the warranty at all. Now the EPS seems to be failing and Hyundai expect the code to to read in order to honor the warranty. Well Dear Hyundai, the EPS dont stay on and you cant pull a code because no one be able to drive with the EPS out to the dealership so they can see the light is on. So again another bill on the Buyer cause Hyundai. So what Im trying to say is buying a Hyundai is a waste of money. They also stated what I called and complained, You dont have any Oil Changes on file with the dealership. Really I never had any issues with my VW when I took it to the Dealership about anything. And they did listen to the customers concerns and try to help and not send you out with issues that they didnt want to fix under warranty. This was my first and last Hyundai I had Purchased.

Since owning my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I have had a number of recalls (or as the company likes to call them, ‘campaigns’). The most recent includes FOUR recalls. I took time off of work to get the recalls addressed, and yet, I still keep receiving notices that I need to take the car back in for the same recalls that I got taken care of. When you call customer service all you get is the run around or told that you are being “hostile” when they question you about where the emails are coming from and you tell them you have full command of the English language or “talking over them”. I still can’t use my phone’s bluetooth as the company never updated their system with the newer phones. My navigation system doesn’t know half of the addresses I put in, and the car only has 44,000 miles in 6 years. In addition, I constantly have to put air in my right front tire, regardless of the weather. Now I have to go back because the dealer disengaged the heated seats so I can’t even trade it in until they fix their mistake, and that was after the dealer tried telling me that the recalls had nothing to do with the heated seats (which they then had to reverse course on as the tech had to disconnect the heated seat wires to put the airbag harness on). Hyundai claims in their ads that they make ‘better’ cars. Better for who? Because it DEFINITELY isn’t better or safer for the consumer. I feel that is a misrepresentation of the truth. Save yourself and your wallet! Don’t even look bother. There are other more reputable companies from which to choose from. Honestly, I think the federal government needs to look into the safety of Hyundai’s vehicles.

Recently, my brakes began failing on my 50k mile Genesis coupe. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a HECU failure similar to the basis of a recall on Genesis sedans. There are other similar failures noted on the NTSB website and various websites. I called Hyundai as the problem is a design defect. Their only response was to tell me that they wont do anything because my warranty is up. In the past, a fire hazard in Sonatas that was the subject of a recall was fixed by setting the cars to stop working if there is danger of fire. Hyundai is not a dependable car, or company and puts its drivers at risk.

My wife, 64, was driving out one owner Hyundai Accent on a private road about 15MPH when the airbags suddenly deployed without any impact occurring to the vehicle. My wife received severe bruises on both arms and the face and the windshield was shattered by impact from the passenger side airbag deployment. We were fortunate as she was going very slowly and there was no other traffic... Had she been in busy traffic or on an interstate, there would probably have been a major collision and severe injury or possible death. Hyundai local dealership (Perkins Motors of Colorado Springs) was appraised of the problem but refused to do anything. When we contacted Hyundai HQ consumer affairs we were told that they would send us a packet of papers to be filled out and returned to them. They would then let us know in six or eight weeks whether they would do anything. The car is undriveable... And my wife will never drive it again after the scare she received together with the potential for a much more horrible outcome than actually occurred.Hyundai seems to have no interest in seeing the vehicle and figuring out what may have gone wrong and whether it might be a risk factor for other owners as well, despite the obvious implications of consumer risk when airbags inflate without any cause. I volunteered to haul the car to the local dealership at my own expense and inconvenience and they responded that they would not look at it even if I did so unless I agreed to pay for all repairs in advance. One would think that they would care to find out what might have gone wrong. All in all, it has been a horrible experience and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Note to all Hyundai owners: I would have to recommend that you NOT drive your vehicles as the potential for a major accident is very real and, like other manufacturers in the past, Hyundai seems to feel no sense of urgency in finding out what the core problem is and fixing it.

I bought a Hyundai Elantra in 2007 with a three year warranty. Within the first two weeks, the indicator switch had to be replaced. This happened again over a period of a year and now that the warranty has expired, the indicator only works manually.Approximately 8 months after purchasing the vehicle, we heard a grinding rear noise, especially when reversing. It was very noticeable. I am an Estate Agent and it was embarrassing. The local mechanics examined the car and after saying that they knew exactly what they were doing, replaced the rear disk pads and callipurs, etc. with the approval of head office. A week later, the noise was back. I took it to the local supplier but they could not find the fault. My husband kept on saying that they should look at the release bearing and they ignored it. The car was eventually taken to Johannesburg, and a week later, I was informed that it was the release bearing. Remember, this was over a period of a year. They replaced the release bearing just before the warranty expired. All was fine for a few months and then we heard a noise in the engine. I took it in and was told that the valve lifters had to be replaced at a cost of $4,200.00. I phoned head office but they replied that it was out of warranty and not their problem anymore. The day we collected the car, we noticed that the noise had not disappeared. Fortunately, our car was at the wash bay when the workshop exploded (not so sure it was fortunate). The mechanic who released the car to us admitted that there was a noise, but seeing that they had no equipment, nothing could be done about it at that stage. When they arranged for an alternative workshop and the proper equipment, I took the car in. To my utter amazement, they phoned me a day later to tell me that the oil pump, timing chain, and tensioner had to be replaced at a cost of $10,000. Fix one thing and another one appears. What guarantee do I have that this will be the end of my woes and that the problem has been diagnosed properly? I spoke to the Manager, Ben, and told him that I wanted a second opinion and that I would take the car to Bloemfontein. He agreed with me and told me that a car with 70,000 km on the clock should not have all these problems and that I should take it further. I was really excited when I received my brand new car but now, I feel like setting it alight. My husband is so frustrated that he just wants to get rid of the car. We listened to an engine of a similar Elantra - what a difference. My brother in law had an Elantra which clocked 600,000 km and it hardly ever had any problems and that is one of the reasons why we bought one.Let me just say that the local supplier and his staff had always been helpful and friendly, but they can only help to a point and after that they have to abide by Imperials Rules. I will not stop until something is done about it.I appeal to you. Please see what you can do for me.

I purchased a 2012 Sonata (loaner car), absolutely love the vehicle. I took it in for 1st oil change and they advised the tires needed to be rotated, returned to work and was notified by co-worker that they had noticed a bubble in the front passenger tire that morning. I went outside to take a look and sure enough, the front passenger tire had bubble (since tires had been rotated approx. 30 minutes earlier). I called the dealership and was told tires were not covered under warranty. I explained that I had just had the tires rotated and no one in the service dept even acknowledged the bubble. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle at this point and do not think that I should have to spend money on a tire that was obviously damaged when I bought the vehicle. I have called the dealership service manager numerous times as well as the general manager and have even emailed the gm about 8 times and no response from any of them. I called Hyundai customer support thinking that would help. I was just notified by them that the reason the dealership didnt call me back was because I gave a different name than what the vehicle was purchased under and they could find no records. I guess a phone call to me to ask more questions was asking too much. I have zero confidence in that dealership or the customer support team. Obviously, once they get your money, you as a person does not matter to that dealership. Oh, and might I add this is my 4th Hyundai to buy. You would think a repeat customer would mean something. I can guarantee I will never do business with Texan Hyundai in Rosenberg, Texas again.

My original fuel pump went out at 80,000+ miles (2011), so I replaced it with a Hyundai part. Three months later at 86,000 miles, this Hyundai fuel pump went out. Now, 20 months later, the same issue, fuel pump #3. No warranty and $417 part out again. Hyundai dealers know this is an issue. It is well published I found out on the internet after my first encounter. Hyundai needs to take care of this issue if they wish to continue to sell vehicles in the US. Hyundai is using refurbished parts and refuse to admit there is an issue. I was told today they do not warrant their parts for more than 12 months. Now, I can no longer utilize the dealership of my vehicle because of faulty parts. Tempe Hyundai service manager would not help in any way. My next recourse is to contact the Hyundais General Manager. I feel everyone should know and stop buying their products if they cant build dependable parts and vehicles.

This car (2008 Hyundai Santa Fe) has had multiple recalls on it. Several of them major safety concerns. One of them (NHTSA #10058931) due to an engine valve leak causing oil to leak all over the alternator. (I lost all control, power, etc on Christmas Eve barely making it off the road into a parking lot, but not a space). They fixed the front valve with the recall, but now there is a second valve doing the same thing. Not part of the original recall (at least a $500 fix out of my pocket) that at this moment I will get to be responsible for. This doesnt include the previous issue with the ESC or the new BAD electrical problem that affects the stop lamp illumination (so no brake lights), the ESC and several other things (oh, and Hyundai hasnt notified me of this new recall yet, but Im definitely having the issue). It can also affect the shifter and allow your car (when on) to be taken out of park when the brake pedal isnt pressed. Ive been supremely disappointed in the timeliness of communications on recalls, the multitude of recalls and the lack of willingness to fix all problems (e.g. the gasket heads). Ive included pictures of some of the recall statements from the NHTSA, etc.

HMA has tried to get a deposition fee of $450 from me the last 8 months without my knowledge. They have been quietly killing my credit with delinquency filings through my credit agency. No letters were sent. Yes, I know about the deposition fee, but it is waived if a customer buys a new lease. I bought two new leases! My local dealer explained it all to me. NO fee if you re lease a new car. I got two... Didnt matter to HMA. I fought with customer service and their response was that the new cars I received were purchased 4 months before the lease expired. Apparently in the small print, you only have a 60 day window before the lease ends to get that deposition fee waived. Ridiculous! This is not the way to treat a long time customer. I called my local dealer and they have been way more willing to help me with this, as it was their sales staff that that relayed all this information. Hopefully, with the help of my local dealer HMA will fix this issue and will also fix the damage done to my credit. Their customer service reps were very unhelpful and rude. After I had purchased these new leases, a problem arose where my VIN # had been mixed up with someone else at purchase. One day I walked into my garage where my Sonata was automatically started by their Bluelink system, garage door closed, garage full of fumes, almost killing my dog who was in there. HMA could not have cared any less of what had happened as I explained the situation. They blamed the local dealer, offered me a few Hyundai points (incredibly insulting), and went on their way. They actually stopped talking to me as I expressed that their points offering was insulting. I wanted to make sure this doesnt happen again to someone else, yet they would not return my calls. These experiences with HMA would actually be funny if it wasnt so sad and scary. Please stay far away from this company! Terrible and unethical business practices.

Zero Rating if possible. I dont really know where to begin with this brand and its terrible cars. I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata Turbo in 2013. Ive spent countless hours with my car in the shop over the car sputtering, shaking, cutting off at stop signs. Not to mention the electronics in the car are terrible; Bluetooth doesnt connect half the time for unknown reasons. Theres been at least 4 recalls done since I purchased this car. I had to get a total electrical discharge done to reset the electronics because the car was going haywire. Finally, Im down on Myrtle Beach for vacation and the car totally shuts off. Turns out it was a faulty engine that needed to be replaced. Took 30 days to get the engine sent in from Korea and replaced. Then somehow the rental car that I had racked up an amazing 2400 bill of which Hyundai determined to only pay $400. And then afterward I noticed the car jumping and things shifting and making horrible noises under the hood. Turns out the repairmen didnt screw the transmission mount screws on tight enough both of the bolts had the heads off and the transmission was moving around while I was driving. The dealership told me the car would be fine to drive and so I did until it just became unbearable. Now they want me to fork over another $1700 to replace the entire subframe that they messed up when installing the engine. Hyundai is a horrible company with Horrible cars. I will never purchase another thing from you and your terrible dealerships. Go out of business for the countries sake or leave your terrible cars in Korea.

We just purchased a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy trim in Sep 21 because we loved that it had everything we were looking for in regards to safety, technology, and design. We paid $45k for it along with about $1,000 in fees and travel to pick it up. We were quite excited as this was our first brand new vehicle. 2 months into it, the transmission went bad and we brought it to Hyundai to find out whats going on as it was under warranty. Heres where things went further south.Hyundai cant get parts to fix their brand new cars...and on top of that, why would a transmission already be bad? It has sat on their lot since Nov 30th, 2021. Last week we just got an offer to buy back the vehicle for more than 4k less than what we just bought it for and drove it for two months. They stated that our state allows for depreciation in Missouri for lemon laws and they cant help us, it is what it is. During this time, cars have gone up because dealers are now charging a mark up fee, so although they can claim depreciation, we cant claim appreciation on the car. So to get the same exact car we just bought, we now will have to pay 4-8k more for equivalent. Its horrible. And just for a buyer beware situation, Hyundai will no longer replace your car with an equivalent one substitution for collateral equity. They stopped replacing them with like cars because theyre manufacturing so few that anything they make has to go to dealers to get top value for them.Point being for this review is that although Hyundai makes a great car much of the time, if you have any problems at all, there are concerns of finding parts for repairs, and if its unrepairable, plan on a huge deduction for a buyback. Good luck out there from a very unhappy customer who just lost 4-8k on a brand new vehicle, and now I have to go find a replacement on my own.

I purchased/financed a 2016 Tucson Limited AWD in November 2015. In August 2016, I started experiencing issues with my transmission. Whenever I am in traffic, my car will buck and feels like its going to stall and sometimes barely accelerates. When Im stopped at a stop sign or traffic light and go to take off, my car barely accelerates. There are times where Im barely going 5 mph and the RPMs are high and then all of a sudden will start bucking and then go into gear. Ive had 3 almost near accidents because of this. When Hyundai came out with the DCT recall in October 2016, I brought my car to the dealership for service on the transmission recall. I continued to have the same issue, but it recently got much much worse. I brought my car back to the dealership on 4/1/2017 for the same issue. They performed the same exact recall again. As I was driving to work on Tuesday, 4/4/2017 my car started doing the same exact thing. I called the dealership right away and dropped off my car the next day. I picked up my car on Thursday, 4/6/2017 and drove it to work today, Friday, 4/7/2017 and I was experiencing the same EXACT thing. I drive almost 80 miles a day to and from work, always in traffic and Im terrified to be stuck in traffic, or to sit at a light/stop sign because Im afraid Im going to get in to an accident because of this. I called the dealership again today to let them know that Im still experiencing this and the service adviser left me a message saying that theres not much more he can do other than to keep performing the update on the DCT. That update was performed 3 times now and we havent gotten anywhere. Im terrified to drive around with my infant in this car let alone myself. Ive reached out to corporate and filed a case with them. This car is unsafe!!!!

I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks. He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. We received a new car warranty with 4 years remaining and a used car warranty which would replace the new car warranty for additional 10 years. We took our car to Merced Hyundai for servicing. They had serviced our car before. I said the engine was making a funny sound. I spoke to the technician who said that Hyundai and Kia engines had been having breakdowns. They begin to work on the car and suddenly they ran into some difficulties. Suddenly Hyundai wanted all kinds of paper work. This went for some time. I mentioned our warranties. Hyundai Corp. said they do have a new car and used car warranty. They could proceed with repairs with no cost to us. Then the nightmare began.Suddenly they couldnt find parts for our car. The mechanics have been wonderful. They have been looking everywhere. Hyundai Corp. seems like they could care less. At this date we are still waiting for parts to complete the repairs. We are senior citizens my wife is 74 and I am 78. We are on Social Security with part time jobs to make ends meet. Since Hyundai said they could not give us a loaner, we have had to rent a car for seven (7) weeks now. This is a small fortune to us. We have had to go into our savings account to pay for this. We are running out of money. We have talked to Hyundais customer complaint service. All they say is that they are working on it?? Lately, for the past two weeks they have not returned any of our calls for updates on our complaint. Regina seems to have disappeared. We are running out of money and need help. WE NEED OUR CAR!! As of this date, they are still waiting for parts to repair our car. I just had it serviced, but not by Hyundai, and there was oil in it. In fact when the rod broke the engine spilled oil all over the road and the tow truck. Even the dealer confirms that. But no the supreme judge at America Hyundai says no oil, no pay. The warranty isnt worth the paper its written on!!! Never, ever buy a Hyundai! The experience is bitter beyond description.

Back in February, we traded our 2011 Hyundai for a 2012 Hyundai. We couldnt stop the final payment before it was sent and were told not to worry because they would just turn around and refund it.” A dozen calls and 37 days later, we finally received our refund. Then, our dealership messed up the paperwork for the refund of our extended warranty and it was sent to Hyundai Motor Finance. Now, three weeks later, we are still fighting to get that money returned to us. To top it off, because the credit for the car payment sat in the account so long and they didnt close the account because of the credit, they charged us account fees which they are now calling me at my office to collect. So they owe me $2000, which they dont seem to care about. But they are harassing me at work for $23.00, which I am told during every phone call is a mistake. We have the 2012 financed through them and have never been late. We even pay a little extra every month. In return, this is the treatment they give their customers. I have never seen such horrible service, apathy, lack of concern, and blatant disregard for the customer. I am disgusted with Hyundai Finance and will never deal with them again, even if this means this is the last Hyundai I ever purchase.

I was really excited to buy my first Hybrid. I have long commutes to work and wanted a car that could save me gas mileage. This car is a 2018, at the time of this writing it is now 2021 (4 years old!). In the time that I have bought it, the car died twice on the highway commuting to or from work. The first time it died there was no check engine light warning to indicate any kind of prevention to get the car looked at. I was just driving home and then a big yellow icon popped up. I was able to coast my car off the road and turn it off. I waited a bit and then turned my car back on. I was able to safely finish driving home before calling the service department at the Hyundai dealer in my area to take a look at it. After they finished and I paid for their services, no satisfactory answer was given for why it died or what could be done to prevent it. Just something about some kind of water hose being replaced??The second time my car died was this past Nov 1st. The day before I heard noises coming from my car but I couldnt be certain. Again no check engine light or anything. So as I drove to work again on the highway all of the sudden a check engine light comes on and my car dies. I barely make it to the side of the road again with smoke coming out. I called AAA to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer. They wont be able to look at it until mid December. All the local Hyundai dealers were booked. I took it to an auto repair shop to run diagnostics and was told my engine had seized. I would need to replace the engine. This car is only 4 years old, I cant believe it. Right now once I get my car in the shop, I am praying the manufacturer will cover replacement of the engine which I was quoted costs $10k! My remaining car loan is more than that. Come next year, whether replaced engine or dead car Im selling my losses and chucking it. Hence, my presence on ConsumerAffairs. Looking for a better reliable car. (Sigh) Hopefully I can warn others. Its comforting to see my experience is not unique to me.

I just had my Hyundai 2012 Sonata serviced for a gas leak. They told me it was a packing fuel pump and cap assembly fuel filler. All Goethe’s they charge me 383.12 dollars for only changing the fuel cap which was the real issue and they milked it by keeping me waiting for more than two hours. I realized they did not change the packing fuel pump because they never asked me for the special key to remove one of the lug nuts to my tire where the gas cap is located. They ripped me off, and I realized this when I got home and said “How come they didn’t ask for the key to remove the special lug nut?” How can I get my money back on this issue? I am really pissed off because of how they are getting away with this.

I bought a new 2016 Hyundai Veloster in June 2017. This bad smell would come and go. At that point youd smell the damp smell on your clothes and hair the test of the day. Well that week in June there had been lots of rain, car smell came back. Took the car to the dealership on July 24 for oil change. 25th took the car in for them to investigate the smell. Had a water leak at the roof of the car, where the seal didnt bond the glass roof to the frame. Water had gotten into the car and floor was soaked. Him ** ordered a new roof, carpet, Sun visors, and headliner. Called me to come pick up the car. The car still had the smell. I know firsthand I smelt like the car many off times. Had to go in public smelling like sour mildew from this car. I wasnt happy. Manufacturer refused to stand by its product by honoring what was wrong. Ruet treated me like it was my fault something was wrong with the car. The car needed everything material and electric replaced. She even contacted the dealership to see if the car was drivable with the mold and mildew. My health wasnt an issue to them. The Veloster roofs can leak and cause mold and mildew and that horrible smell. Clothes ruined by that smell. Cant get them rid of the smell as they sat in the car as my back up clothes from walking. I still have the paperwork from the car that smells and it was in the glove box.

HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 20
HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 2012 I wrote Steve Kelleher a letter stating my sheer dissatisfaction with the water problems I was experiencing with my 2010 Genesis Coupe. These problems became apparent in October 2009, less than 6 months from when I purchased it brand new in May of 2009. I have a multitude of work orders showing evidence of this water leak as well as my diligence in trying to address these issues. To date the sunroof is still leaking and soaking the back interior of my car. HYUNDAI CANADA is refusing to address this leak as the car is now out of warranty. In my letter to Mr. Kelleher I stated the following as well as sending him proof of the work orders: Water running down the back speakers after rain. Leaks soaking the trunk as well as interior back panel and seat. The radio cuts in and out after heavy rain when the car is cold. The air conditioner and fan randomly turn on when both dials are off. Thick frost accumulates on the insides of the windows when cold. Windows fog up in the rain. The car smells musty. Back tail lights leaking.Since then radio cut out when loading CD player, eating my CD and rendering CD player inoperable. Because of a faulty sunroof mechanism the water leaks have caused staining of the interior liner. The interior liner was totally replaced because of extensive water damage. The seals around the back window were replaced springs popping out of the back seat and the leather seat ripping at seams where water was pooling so the backseat was replaced. The passenger window was lifted and reset because it was an entry point for water. The ABS light remained on and was repaired. The passenger window would not close and sporadically after a rain gets stuck. Tail lights leaking both resealed. LeakPro resealed the car (sunroof, mechanisms, drip tray...etc.). Over 1 of water was recently wet-vacuumed out of the trunk. This car has done nothing but leak and after almost 8 years the water leak has not been resolved. Over the years the dealership has tried to address the problems that the water leak has caused but for whatever reason have not addressed the water leak itself. My car is still getting soaked after it rains. The dealership cannot afford to investigate this leak further and submitted a request to Hyundai Canada which was declined. It is time for Hyundai Canada to step up and back their product and their warranty. Because this has been an ongoing problem that has not been resolved since I purchased the car in 2009, the time sensitivity of the warranty should not be a factor.I am a single mom who has recently been reduced to a 4 day work week. I saved for and purchased this car because of Hyundais extended warranty and their reputation of standing behind their product. This car was not cheap and I expected it to last me a very long time. With water damage this car will rust and cause more electrical problems.

Otherwise, its an average car with average features and has some issues, but thats typical for a used car. Maintenance is expensive, I wish it wasnt as much to upkeep. Its also an older car, so its features work but are pretty dated. Also, the beige upholstery is god awful and dated.

The car is very durable but it makes noises on transmission changes especially when the eco boost is on. The dealership I went to was great. The salesperson was very knowledgeable on the car and the process was easy. The car was everything I was looking for with a little bit of an upgrade. Some things werent clear like how to update the nav system. The touch screen is not very responsive depending on if you are the driver or the passenger. The eco really does save on gas but it makes the change even slower when speeding up or slowing down.

I have owned a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 3 years and have owned 3 Hyundais over the last 20 years. I have always been a loyal Hyundai owner, but I am now reconsidering that thought. Over the weekend, my car broke down when the control arm broke and left me right where I sat. After some research, I have discovered the part that broke was, at one time, under a recall. I called the Hyundai Customer Assistance Center yesterday, November 26, to inquire about the recall and was told that recall has expired. When I asked about the expiration date of the recall, I was told I would have to call my local dealership to find out when it expired. I couldnt understand why I would have to call the dealership when I was speaking to a case manager as he continually referred to himself as. I refused to call the dealership as someone from Hyundai had to tell the dealership when it expired. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he was the case manager and his supervisor would tell me the same thing. I again asked for the supervisor and was told he is very busy. I was then put back on hold and had my husband go ahead and call the dealership about the recall and was told the recall was expired but he couldnt tell us when either. When the case manager came back to the phone, his story changed to my car didnt fall under the recall for the control arm issue. So, I still dont know if my car was part of the recall but the recall expired or my car wasnt part of the recall even though its the same problem that caused the recall to begin with. I didnt get anywhere with the case manager at the assistance center nor did I get to speak to a supervisor. I even left my name and number and was told he would return my call but I didnt hear back from him. At this point, my car is still where it broke down and so far, Hyundai has been zero help. I really dont want to put a lot of money into a car that I no longer have faith in the company that made it.

I bought a brand new Tucson 2016. After I drove it for less than 800 miles the Check Engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and was told a pin fell inside the engine and broke it. Dealer offered to replace the engine. Because it was a new car I refused. So, after a lengthy fight Hyundai finally agreed to give me another new Tucson. Phew... wait, I am not done yet. 2 weeks later I took delivery of the new Tucson and guess what? 1200 miles later, the car just stalled and would not start as I was driving in the middle of the highway. Now that was scary, in the middle of the highway at night! Luckily there was a state trooper nearby who was able to redirect traffic around my car while I waited for a tow truck. I had the car towed back to the dealer. After looking into it for about 2 weeks, they finally called me to tell me there was another problem with the engine and it could not be repaired. Again, Hyundai has offered to send a replacement engine. This time I refused and am currently fighting them for my money back. Consumer beware of the 2016 Tucson, they are junky.

Hi, just wanted to share with experience Ive had with Hyundai. I have encountered several issues with my Equus, both with the 2011 and the 2014 models. With the 2011, it was serviced a multitude of times, concluding with the installment of a new compressor. However, the cooling (or lack thereof) issue still remained. When that lease ended, I was assured that the A/C issues with the Equus had been rectified. In good faith, I leased a new 2014 Equus, and much to my dismay, the A/C issues were NOT resolved! So, here I am, AGAIN, in the same exact predicament! Hyundai insists on continuing to deny this problem exists and continues to market inferior products. Any consumer can read the blogs on the internet and clearly see that there is a definite A/C problem with the Hyundai models, including the Equus! Hyundai is lessening their credibility in continuing to deny this issue exists! Hyundai needs to step up to the plate and stop denying that they do not have an A/C problem with this vehicle. They MUST do the right thing. Otherwise, their reputation will be at stake. Recurring customers like me will no longer return, and unfortunately for Hyundai, we will tell others about the poor service and callous treatment we received and of our negative experience.

In my family we previously purchased 6 Hyundai vehicles (2006-through 2012). We didnt have a lot of trouble with the first six and we usually traded before the mileage was high. But the last two vehicles have been a nightmare; tires wearing quickly and unevenly even after proper maintenance, 2013 sounds like a truck even though its an Accent etc. During this time we were notified of the great mileage reimbursement program that requires you to jump through hoops to certify, re-certify.... The last straw if you can believe it - one of my cars was repossessed by Hyundai Finance. They claimed they havent received our payments. When both of our banks show that they have received the money for months. Now we have to have our banks go after Hyundai Finance, sign affidavits and try to clear our credit. At this point, they can keep the car, just give me my money (Hyundai Capital Finance).

In April 2018, 11 months after purchasing a new Hyundai Tucson, the transmission began hesitating and shuddering. I complained at Weimer Hyundai and was told to read the owner’s manual and watch some videos on YouTube. These did not address the issue but I was told repeatedly that was how that particular transmission behaved. Then between Jan 25 and Feb 5, 2019, I had 4 service appointments at Weimer to address 4 issues. The continuing transmission hesitation and shuddering now with skyrocketing RPMs, the AEB dash light and alert dings continuously going off, 20+second hesitation upon takeoff and when attempting to increase speed after slowing down or in stop and go traffic, and the driver door lock button malfunctioning. Nothing was repaired.I opened a complaint with Hyundai Customer Service and was told to take it to Jenkins Hyundai. After waiting for 3 weeks for a service appointment opening, on Mar 11, I was told it could be a safety issue if the AEB were in a crash/near crash situation and didn’t operate as designed. I was told a 2 different wiring harnesses were being ordered and that it should be in for the repair within the week and I would have a loaner car. They would call when the parts came in. After not hearing anything for several days, I talked to Hyundai Customer Service about the lemon law buyback. They said it would take 30 days to reach a decision. Finally they sent an email saying they would not do a buyback. Finally on April 8, my wife went to Jenkins and spoke with a sales manager who said he would call her back that afternoon with an update. He did not call. On April 9, my wife returned to Jenkins and spoke to a service manager who told her the wiring harnesses were on back order. He said a serious issue had also affected massive numbers of Subaru’s and that because of that all the mechanic appointments and loaner vehicles were booked for at least 4-6 weeks out. He said he would contact Hyundai Customer Service, a couple of dealerships 90+ minutes away and his own staff and prepare a plan. From this point he wanted to handle everything via email to create a paper trail. He said he would have everything ready by noon on April 10 and would call with the plan. Instead, he emailed a request for videos of the issues. By April 11, the A/C had stopped functioning properly and by April 12 even the date and time were not displaying on the dash or radio screen. My wife submitted all this information and several videos to them. DON’T buy a HYUNDAI!

I will never again purchase another Hyundai. Never realized what a joke it is to get any sort of help from this company plus when it comes to any warranty issues, theyll do just about anything to not cover it. I purchased a 2010 Sonata back in Nov 09, car was absolutely beautiful, ran great and till a few weeks ago, still loved my car. Well a few weeks ago, my car started making a knocking sound under the hood so I decided to bring it into a Hyundai dealership to get it checked out. Mind you, I called on a Thursday and asked them what day should I come in, I was told drop it off Sunday night and theyll get to it first thing in the morning. They didnt start my car until 4 in the afternoon but thats beside the problem. I get a call at 4 from Hyundai that I need to get down there immediately. So me and my pregnant wife with twins get in the car and go down there and the lady goes look, do you see that buildup of oil inside the engine? All she did was take the oil cap off and shined a flashlight in there. So I said to the lady, Yea...your point? She said, Hyundai is not gonna cover the problem. I asked, What is the problem, whats with the knocking sound? Lady tells me they cant diagnose the car because of the little oil buildup. You gotta be kidding me. I have all my records from all my oil changes and maintenance thats been done. I ended up taking my car home because they wouldnt fix my car. I have full warranty plus an extended warranty and do do jack with it. Hyundai consumer affairs is a joke. Theyve been giving me the runaround and this has been going on since December 8th. No one will help me. I will never, ever buy from HYUNDAI again and I will make sure to advise family and friends to stay away from a company that is very unprofessional and totally against helping the customer. Funny how they rave about their phenomenal warranty coverage but God forbid you need to use it....forget it POS.

Last year we experienced a flat tire and when my spouse went to change it there was no spare, only a compressor and slime unit. Well little did we know but we had a slit in sidewall of tire from a pothole, so that was useless. When I called Hyundai Roadside Assurance, they said they would tow it to the nearest dealer which is 40 or so miles away, we wanted it towed 6 miles down the road. So we had to pay $100 for a tow. Last Tuesday we had a flat tire and had no jack to take it off to have it repaired, so we put air in tire and drove it to our repair shop and had it plugged. Today we went to Garvey Hyundai in Plattsburgh, NY and took slime air canister into dealership and asked why they do not tell customers that their 2012 Elantra Limited do not come with a spare or jack. We also stated that we were going to have to get AAA Roadside Assistance since we had to tow car to nearest dealer 40+ miles away if we wanted to use our roadside assurance with them. They hurried us into a room with a service manager whom informed us this was policy to make cars get better gas mileage, by having no tire or jacks. They were willing to sell us a spare donut tire on rim with jack for $298 +, which my spouse said no way. But they did give us a free car wash, which car was still filthy after it came out. Well hopefully, our next purchase next year from an American automaker will have a spare tire, jack and roadside assistance to our local garage if needed.

I bought a used 2010 Hyundai Accent with 31,000 miles from a Columbus used car lot. I wanted to get the car certified so that I could reinstate the 100,000/10 year powertrain warranty. I called the Hyundai corporate headquarters in Arizona, and was told by a long-time, highly experienced customer service rep that all I had to do was take the car to any Hyundai dealership, pay a fee, and they would perform the 150-point inspection required to certify me car. I made it abundantly clear that the car was not bought from a Hyundai dealership. I called four different Hyundai dealerships in Columbus/Newark, Ohio and spoke with an unparalleled collection of rude and ignorant idiots, who all provided different interpretations of the Hyundai warranty, although all sold that brand for a living. Four hours later, I received a frantic call from a young man who identified himself as a Hyundai Case Manager. Apparently he had reviewed the voice tape of my conversation with the corporate customer service rep, and was calling to tell me that the rep did not understand the pre-certification procedure, and that Hyundai could not and would not certify my vehicle. Next I called the Hyundai dealership in Heath, OH about repairing a plastic bumper cover that had already cracked in the bitter cold we have been experiencing (in my garage). I was told very rudely that the Hyundai Bumper-to-Bumper warranty does not include bumpers!! I have had the car three weeks, and this is my experience with Hyundai. By the way, this is a car that was rated at 40 miles/gallon highway in 2010 which, after testing, was shown to get 32 mpg at best. NEVER DEAL WITH HYUNDAI.

Worst experience of my life. I bought a 2017 Veloster, drove it off the lot with 6 miles. Within a year I’ve had my power steering column replaced, the motor for my sunroof and my MOTOR BLEW AT 28K MILES! If you have any work done to your car, expect not to hear anything for 3 weeks and them keeping your car for 2 months! The techs there take everything as a joke, and laugh about how many problems you have with their cars. One of the techs even stated if we told you how bad they are, how would we sell them? I took my car there the month before complaining that it was driving weird, they never even test drove it and stated everything was perfect yet a month later I was left stranded on the road, yet again. Please whatever you do, stay far away from the Tampa Location and Hyundai ALL TOGETHER!!! Worse choice I ever made, I regret buying that car!!!

Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Equus with 71 miles on odometer and Hyundai Motor America said I not entitled to 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as a second owner. Car purchased on Aug 1, 2015, and although manual provides for mandatory arbitration through Auto Line at BBB, I have been systematically denied an opportunity to argue my warranty rights. It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. My intention is to publish a series of editorials nationally and to pursue a criminal complaint with Brian Frosh, the Attorney General for Maryland.

I am the original owner of my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. There has been recall after recall. In August of 2016, Hyundai completed the Campaign 143 Recall (Power Steering). Within a couple of weeks after, my steering wheel starting making clicking noises when I turned. Right after that, my air bag light came on. Shortly after, my steering wheel started shaking when I went over any bumps. Now it is so bad (the shaking) that my steering wheel acts like it is going to pop off of the car when I go over a speed bump! So between the clicking, air bag, and violent shaking, this car feels incredibly unsafe to drive!I called Hyundai and they asked, What exactly do you want us to do? I asked if there was a recall since thousands of people are having the same issue, and the customer service rep said, There is nothing regarding a recall for this issue. I am so fed up with Hyundai. Every time I get my car back from the dealership after a recall, something else happens. I take excellent care of my car and yet it comes back to me from the dealership worse than when I take it in. When will Hyundai finally issue a recall on this as it is clearly a Hyundai faulty part?

This time, a week while the tech talked with the company tech because they didnt know what was wrong, decided to replace the fuel pump again but mentioned it had two fuel pumps. I cant find anything about a second fuel pump. I am really concerned as it at times wont go over 20 mph and this good be very dangerous on the freeway. My engine gave out 12/15, its now 1/27 and its been at the dealership for over a month now. A week after the New Year, and after various calls and check ups, I finally got an answer that my warranty would be extended on the engine. The communication has not been the best at all. They offered me a rental but only in the city that the incident happened in which is 6 hours away from home. In addition, I exhausted over $1,000 on hotel/car repairs after the incident took place. I did my due diligence to submit all the info needed for my reimbursement as soon as I found out the engine was a Hyundai issue. I submitted at least 15 documents pertaining to my proof of ownership and explained that I was stranded in an unfamiliar town for two days due to my engine failing. Ive been more than patient and am still without my vehicle, which is somewhat understanding because repairs and ordering parts take time...the funds that I lost however should not take this long to recover. Since then Ive called in several times to get an update and was assigned a case manager Christina who I missed the call from and when I contacted her back two days later I havent received a response back in a week now. Ive left emails and voicemails each day, and once again contacted customer care to escalate the issue. The agents Ive spoken to were thorough and seemed to care but are powerless in rectifying issue. I work 10 hours a day and when someone has an issue, I look to rectify that problem within 24hrs. We may enter another season by the time I get my money back. Once I pay this vehicle off in full, I will not be doing business with Hyundai again, and I dont recommend anyone else to. Your time and money are not valued enough.

I purchased my 2005 Hyundai Tuscon new from the Kolar Hyundai dealership based primarily on the advertised warranty coverage of 10 years and 100,000 miles bumper-to-bumper as they advertised it (it’s still under a warranty plus program which I did have to pay for). Since then my Tuscon is in need of a bearing replacement on the left rear tire (it has seized). When I called the dealership, I was told they would not tow the vehicle or repair it without me covering all the costs. My warranty is currently at no cost to me for repairs or towing. I was told to call the Hyundai warranty number. The lady I spoke to informed me that if it was an American-made vehicle, it would be covered since bumper-to-bumper means that. But since it is a Hyundai and the rear wheels are not drive wheels, it is not covered after 60,000 miles. I asked her again why Hyundai is not honoring their advertised bumper-to-bumper warranty. Again, I was told it is because Hyundai is not an American-made vehicle (assuming she meant a vehicle made by Ford or other American vehicle corporations). I am now forced to incur all costs for repairs since Hyundais trickery (erroneous advertising) has forced me to, especially in a tough economy.

I bought Hyundai Sonata 2013 five months ago. I am happy with driving the car but I noticed that you took my money for blue link which is I already cancelled. When I bought the car, you told me that I have to pay $99 for year for the blue-link. There was a one month fee. I didnt want to pay and it wasnt good for me so I cancelled. But you charged. When I called the blue-link, blue-link told me that there is 3 option in the blue link but I only cancelled one option. I never heard about that. I never heard about that when I bought the car and even when I cancelled the blue-link. I didnt know there is three options. I never heard. When I canceled, you asked why I want to cancel so I just said that it doesnt recognize my voice. For the reason, the blue-link cancelled only one option. When I bought the car the sales person explained the destination search service very kindly but the guy never explained about the other option which is remote access option. I think because I installed remote starter, already. The Hyundai sales person never told me that I have to pay for $198 for year. He only told me $99 a year for the blue-link which he told me only the destination service. I dont want to believe that you had a purpose to take out my money. But there is only way, I can understand the situation. When I called Hyundai dealer which is Patrick Hyundai, they told me I have to speak with the blue-link but the blue-link told me there is nothing they can do. Only they could cancel and I can get less of the money. I feel bad. You tricked me into spending my money. I am very disappointed with Hyundai.

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata is pretty and stylish inside and out. I bought the Limited Trim with all the bells and whistles. Problems: The steering began to tug to one side while the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. We took the car several times to the dealership and they could not see anything wrong with the vehicle. I was told this behavior was within Hyundais specification and that it was normal for the vehicle. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has this abnormal normalcy. This problem has not gone away. Vibration. I cannot tell you enough how irritated I have been with this vibration. Once you go over a certain speed (Im not sure at the moment, but Im not talking of highway speed - just normal in-town speed), the car begins to vibrate. Ive gone to the dealership over and over and over. I am tired and angry that a brand new 2012 car will behave this way and the people at the dealership cant figure out what the seems to be the problem. Not too long ago, my wife and I noticed that when turning the vehicle made a certain noise as if something was about to break, as if some metal was hitting another metal. The dealership said it was a steering column problem and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it since we have put over 60,000 miles on the car. The car has gone out of bumper-to-bumper warranty. The lingering problems (listed above), I have to fix out of pocket. It will take a lot, a whole lot, for me to buy a Hyundai vehicle ever again. I loved the roominess and stylishness of the Sonata, but it seems that those are about all it has. I am very disappointed in this vehicle to say the least. My 2009 Chrysler 300C never gave me these troubles.

In early 2012 I leased a Hyundai Santa, in September 2012 the vehicle was involved in an accident and sustained severe front end damage, all air bags deployed etc. The vehicle was towed to a junkyard/auto repair shop. I had full insurance plus gap insurance through Hyundai. My insurance paid out over ten thousand dollars that I sent directly to Hyundai. I constantly contacted Hyundai regarding the status of the vehicle, the account was placed in the recovery department that was handling the gap insurance. In November of 2012, the last correspondence I had with them that I initiated was with that department. At that time I was told the vehicle was covered under the gap insurance, time went by and I never had been contacted by Hyundai, I presumed the vehicle was paid for and everything was done. Until a year later and I applied for credit and was told to my surprise that I had repossession on my credit, prior to this I had excellent credit. I Called Hyundai and was told indeed this vehicle was repossessed, they could not supply me with when it was repossessed from the auto repair shop, when the sale was or if the vehicle was ever repaired. I was never notified of any repossession, never notified of any sale etc. I have on several occasions contacted in writing Hyundai requesting proof of the vehicle being repaired, proof of the vehicle being repossessed and sold. To this day almost three years later, they have not and will not send me any proof of this and this full amount owed is still affecting my credit.

I purchased a new 2009 Sonata Limited 4/08. Now, it has approx. 23,500 miles. Months back, I discovered an item I now need (that was supposed to be on the car) was not there. Although I was told and given a valet key that the manual states leaving the sub key with a parking attendant will ensure that your vehicles trunk, trunk like release, glove box compartment and rear trunk access may not be unlocked in your absence, the information and manual are not correct. The valet system locks were never installed. This never came to my attention until some time back when I had major back surgery and could no longer lift items from the trunk (that cannot be secured) until I could find someone to do it for me. This means I must drive around with items in the trunk that are not secured. Hyundai Consumer Affairs has offered many excuses - such as:1. Company decided child safety hazard and stopped installing them - not correct2. The locks are there and you just need to go to the dealer and they will locate them for you. - Service Mgr & Asst. looked for them and when they could not find them told me some cars come down the line with things left off other cars of the same model. Warranty dept. then asked me to visit a different dealer to locate.3. One email reads, Your vehicle would have come with 2 keys, one that can lock/unlock the the trunk and glove box and the other to give to a valet attendant so they can park the vehicle. - I received from the dealership 3 keys - 2 regular and 1 valet with the explanation that it would do as the manual states above.4. NHTSA action number 10025822 issued 9/9/08 - four months after car purchased reads - Hyundai owners manuals for all 2009 Sonata vehicles contain incorrect information regarding sub key (valet key) operations. Until a printing revision is implemented, manuals will need to have the sticker overlays installed. No sticker overlay could have been installed as the car was purchased 4 months earlier than the bulletin date. Sales department misrepresented the car as they werent even knowledgeable about the missing locks.Theres absolutely no satisfaction from Hyundai. With my physical condition, it now looks like I will have to purchase a different make car. I believe Hyundai should work out something with me on this car. To date they have no interest.

I am a soldier and have been in the army for over 20 years, been deployed to 3 tours. I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Azera Limited addition, with Satellite radio and GPS Navigation package, etc. I was looking between Toyota and Hyundai. I leaned Hyundai way because of the 100K warranty. I was thinking that is a great warranty until very recently when I actually needed the warranty. I did not maintain a book to track my oil changes, etc. I did an oil change in late Oct and purchased an aftermarket oil filter from AutoZone and Synthetic Oil. My wife was driving last week and she said the oil light came on briefly, then the Service engine light came on, then the car stopped running. The car has 88K miles on it and when I checked the oil and it was a little less than a quart low. The oil was not even dirty. I took it to the service dept of Hyundai in Lawton, Oklahoma and they are saying they will not honor the 100K warranty because I don’t have records. I tried to explain that I am a soldier and bought the car in El Paso while stationed at Fort Bliss, but it is a pretty sure bet that they are going to leave me high and dry on this. I have purchased 3 different Hyundais from them and this is the first time I needed to test the warranty. Looks like the 100k warranty sounds good on paper but if they dont honor it, I would have went somewhere else. I know I could go to the military Jag to attempt to get legal advice but Im sure Hyundai has much more money than I have so they could play the technicality cards all day and Im basically screwed. I can assure you I will never buy another Hyundai. I called the Cooperate office and am waiting for an answer back but Im really expecting to get the same answer as the local Service Dept. I really hope Hyundai will do the right thing. I have put my life on the line for this country and never expected to be treated like this from them.

I am in sales and work in the field where an automobile is a NECESSITY! Thats why I bought NEW for dependability! My car was still under warranty and only needed a battery & starter (this took 3 weeks). I only had 39k miles.Hyundai customer care REFUSED to pay for a rental car for me and the dealership said NO loaners were available. I was only able to rent a car for 2 days and submitted paperwork for reimbursement and was only offered $150 for the rental when I had to pay almost $300 for the rental for 2 days on an economy size car! Hyundai would not even offer the FULL amount for my 2 DAY RENTAL! Wow! I was told that if I rented a car...Hyundai would reimburse me and turns out this was another MAJOR Letdown from this whole Hyundai ordeal! Its a very good thing (only 1 out of this whole story) that I was not able to rent a car for the 3 weeks...because I would have not gotten ALL my $$ back which would have been a DOUBLE loss of money $$ for me being out of work for 3 weeks AND not having received a FULL Rental car reimbursement! I totally feel disrespected and was treated like my business was of VERY LITTLE VALUE to them. This was my 2nd Hyundai purchase...but after this ordeal...I am DONE with Hyundai...the corporate office seems to be WORST than this dealership! My vehicle has less than 5000 miles. We were leaving lunch at a restaurant about 25 miles from our home and the car developed a sound in the right front fender, well like something rubbing.and I pulled over to check. The plastic fabric that lines the underside of the right front wheel well had come loose and was dragging on the road. I called Hyundai on road service and they were going to send a car carrier and haul my car to Newnan Georgia 18 miles farther in the other direction to a Hyundai dealer. I was in a school entrance so I then pulled up and I assume the tire ran over the plastic fabric and pulled it loose. I got out and picked up the piece about 12 inches by 8 inches. I noticed the rest of the lining under the wheel well was loose and was being held by a groove in the edge of the fender. The right front fender was separated from the bumper and I was able to push the lining back inside the groove and with the palm of my I tapped on the side where the fender and bumper connected and the two pieces stayed together. I checked and a Hyundai dealer was within 12 miles of my home, I called Hyundai road recovery back and told them I could drive the vehicle to the Hyundai dealer in McDonough, Georgia. We drove to the dealer in McDonough and was told by maintenance that the vehicle was involved in a wreck. I questioned this and was then told that the one (1) mechanic to handle Hyundai vehicles said to take it to their body shop. The maintenance supervisor then indicated that the right front bumper had been hit and it looked like a vehicle in a parking lot had hit the right front fender. When I questioning this he said even a shopping cart in a shopping lot could have hit the bumper and separated the fender from the bumper. We took the vehicle to the body shop and the supervisor said the vehicle was not involved in a wreck. He looked under the right front fender and said he thought the fender separated from the right front side of the bumper after the clips that hold the fender to the bumper had snapped. The fender and the bumper showed no outward scratches or dents. He said Hyundai would not consider the separation of the fender from the bumper to be under warranty. He stated the fender clips could not be repaired and the fender could not be reattached to the bumper instead the bumper would have to be replaced as well as the underside of the wheel well. The estimate would be in excess of $1,400.00. I purchased the vehicle for its looks, warranty and its history of reliability. What else can I expect to fall apart on this vehicle? The vehicle looks like it is very cheaply made and Hyundai has cut corners in the materials used in the assembly of the vehicle. I dont feel safe in the vehicle. I made a mistake moving from Toyota to Hyundai.

My Hyundai is a great low maintenance car that has good gas mileage. The size is just right without being too big. The interior is spacious with cloth seats which are preferable in the hot south. Seating was still roomy and I also liked the storage space. It was in silver tone which was also better for this climate. I chose model based on consumer and technical reviews. The price was just right for my budget and it came with roof rack. The Hyundai models are much improved these days. I think Hyundai has come a long way in building reasonably priced and sound vehicles that are dependable.

The summer of 2010, I wanted the 2011 Hyundai Sonata with a passion. So I waited for three months for this vehicle! From the moment I pulled this car off of the lot, Ive had issues with the car. Issues that I have taken to only authorized Hyundai service dealers and the issues are not fixed. Issues such as steering, tire pressure light and the car not randomly starting. Talk about frustrating. How frustrating to have my intelligence insulted when I take it to the authorized Hyundai dealership and no one can figure out the problem. How frustrating for me to pay for rentals when my car is in the shop and Hyundai cant figure out the problem because as one of the service dealers told me, Hyundai doesnt do loaners for under the hood issues. Ive been late for work five to six times, not including the close calls of being late for work because my car wont start! I have been stuck outside of an establishment at two in the morning because my car wont star. I have videotaped the instances on my phone and showed it to the servicemen that Im not making this up and their reply, The problem never happens here when we have the car, so theres nothing we can do about it. The car steering has been an issue since I first drove it off the lot and once I made it home, I called my car salesman (who is now retired) immediately. He told me to take it to the dealership if I felt something was wrong with the steering! The dealership told me its called electronic steering. I pay a $420 a month car note and $193 a month in car insurance for a vehicle I dont get to use at my leisure.Up until this point, Ive always had perfect attendance at work. I love what I do and I love saving lives. Im in the medical field and my patients dont care nor do my employers if Im late because my car wont start. Just because I drive a Hyundai that has issues that I have repeatedly taken to the dealership doesnt mean my job will give me a slap on the wrist for tardiness. If I lose my job, how will I pay my car expenses? If I lose my job, how will I have money to take care of my family and household? Its cold and snows where I live. Is it fair for me to be stranded for hours at a time trying to start a car and videotape the car not starting in order to have proof that my car has issues?! My lease is not up until August, so am I forced to stick this out until the end of my lease? The sad part about this is I originally wanted to purchase this car at the end of my lease. I went three months without a vehicle, while I patiently waited for this car to be created at the manufacturer. This was my first and last time purchasing a Hyundai! I have no interest in this car or any Hyundai product because of how I have been treated as a consumer. Not to mention, my coworkers, family and friends saw the agony and what Ive gone through with this car without any type of compensation for my inconvenience and even they are shocked by my Hyundai experience! They all feel some kind of way about Hyundai. I had a coworker tell me, My husband and I were considering the Genesis, but after seeing you with your issues with a car thats only 2 years old, I told my husband why bother? Im too afraid we too will experience the same treatment. What frustrates me the most is that Ive contacted a lemon law attorney who has been in contact with Hyundai since September and Im still nowhere! Its as if the Hyundai representative could care less about my inconvenience, my life and my job! The lawyer and I have emailed video clips of me being stranded with the car not starting, sent documentation supporting their service men not being able to fix the problem, and no Hyundai representative has said Lets start talking about how to establish this clients needs and make her experience pleasant from this day on. Its now January and I am in tears, frustrated and an emotional wreck because my job is on the line! No employers care that I have told them and put it in writing that Im waiting on a lemon law attorney to help me find some peace with this vehicle. Please look over my tardiness until this has passed. At this point, I no longer want the car to purchase nor do I want to keep the car until the end of my lease. I dont even want money from it! I only want Hyundai to take this headache away from me and take it apart and service it properly before selling it to another consumer. I would hate for someone to have to experience what I have experienced as a first time Hyundai customer. Im curious to know, how many other 2011 and current Sonata owners have had similar issues?

My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!
