On December of 2010, I had transmission problems and we then had it replaced at Gates Automotive 73 Marway Circle Rochester, NY 14624; phone 585-247-3844. Then in March of 2012, we received a recall notice stating that there is a recall on the torque converter. So now that we received the notice this month that there is an official recall, they are denying the claim because it does not have specifics of the torque converter being the case, but does indicate the same problems of having park, no forward or reverse on van. I had them replace the transmission not knowing Ford was recalling it at that time because of it being two years prior to any letter. Now because the receipt does not indicate that it was a torque converter, they will not honor the refund on this job. I had spoken with a couple of individuals from the 1-800-232-5952 customer relationship center and still no headway. The company did not pull the transmission apart because no one knew of a recall. I would have rather paid for a torque converter than a whole transmission.

Ford Motor Company: your recall 18S20 has affected my vehicle. It is stuck in park because your bushings corroded and the cable between the gearshift and the transmission is inoperable. YOU have no solution at this time, but the dealership CAN fix it for $750 at my cost! And no rental!

This car started off my dream car. I moved from Louisiana to California about 4 years ago and the troubles began. Apparently the car cannot handle the hills and inclines of San Diego. About a year after moving here I started having a slight thud after putting far in reverse. My husband said I just needed to let the motor wind down before putting in drive. It wasnt an everyday all the time problem. Just intermittent then last year it began to shut off on me going down the road. I would stop at a stop sign or red light and the car literally would crawl then hard bang and take off. The problems got more frequent and worse. I was involved in a frontal collision doing about 30 miles an hour, enough to send the other car that ran the red light into a 360 turn and not one air bag in the car went off. $13000.00 dollars worth of damage to the front end of my car and not one air bag inflated. Thank god we were all buckled up. After the accident I drove the car for about 2 weeks before the car literally sounded like it was grinding rocks, transmission slipping severely and I was afraid to drive it. I take it into the local Ford dealership and after having it for 2 days I get a call saying they cant figure it out. 10 minutes later they call and say its ready. I get there and Im told you need a new transmission. $5700 for a transmission that apparently has some defects from all of the other people Ive read complaining having the same issues! Ford should be ashamed for putting a transmission in a family car that is potentially unsafe and unreliable. Beware when buying one of these.

I bought the Ford Sport Trac new in MAY 2010. I had all the scheduled dealer maintenance completed as scheduled and the vehicle has never been off road. The four-wheel drive has been engaged twice, and the majority of the miles have been on the highway. Thirty miles from FT Leonard Wood the transmission began slipping. The vehicle was sluggish when accelerating from a stopped position causing a hazard in city driving or merging onto the interstate. The vibration increased on the highway at speeds above 50 MPH making it difficult to steer. When I arrived at my destination, I dropped it at the dealership the next day for service. The service representative called and informed 2 maintenance lights were on for engine and transmission service. I agreed to move forward with the scheduled maintenance. The dealership called later that day and informed me I needed a new transmission but could not explain what the codes meant or the cost of repair. I asked for clarification, but no one ever got back to me with an update. I received a text my truck was ready for pick up, but the staff could not explain the problem. I am now at day seven and after countless phone calls to the dealership and Ford customer service line. No one can explain the issue or offer assistance because the vehicle is not under warranty! My questions. Why is the transmission shot after only 37,000 miles? If it is replaced, what reassurance do I have this problem will not reoccur in another 37,000 miles? Is there assistance for a drive train component replacement that is supposed to last 100,000 miles and likely defective? Why is this a warranty issue and not a quality issue? The staff at the Ford customer service center try to keep bouncing back to the dealership and refuse to put me in contact with the regional manager or supervision staff. I finally got a call and they offered to replace the transmission for $5,000. Told me I could take it or leave it.

The Ford Five Hundred has been a great car for me and I really like it. It has leather interior and has lots of cup holders. I like the way the back seats fold down to give me more trunk space. I really enjoy the heated seats the best. So great in the winter time and they really help. But I would like the car to have four wheel drive for better driving during the winter snow season. It does seem to slide easy on slick streets.

I purchased a used 2015 Ford Fusion. I understand that there are a few things I would need/want to do with the car to use the features available. The car came with one key, which has been set to the ‘MyKey’ feature. I asked to have it reset at dealership as it is the only key and I am limited on what I can do - I am locked out of some radio channels and while I might be locked down to a ‘Max Speed’, I haven’t hit it yet. Their answer - The only way YOU can do that is to buy another key - $300. (Great customer service to make me work instead of offering alternate solutions to assist me). The car does not have the owners manual, therefore I don’t have the code for the keyless entry. Their answer - Sure, $60. Never mind, thanks for trying to make me give you more money to be able to get into the car you made. There are other things I would like to do with the car, but I stopped asking afraid it would just cost too much. Very disappointing.

I just read the posts and what happened to my truck was exactly what I read - 2000 F150 extended Cab, excellent condition, low mileage, parked for 5 hours, then spontaneous combustion. The engine looks like it was nuked. Though I am sure the Insurance will cover it, but not nearly the value of the truck or the contents that were destroyed. Does Ford provide any compensation?

I purchased a 2019 Edge ST and its already been to the dealership twice. Neither of which they have confirmed anything (on paper). My transmission gets to 3rd gear then comes out of gear, continuing to rev, before finally kicking over to 4th gear after a couple of seconds. Same gear, every time. First time I took it in (January 2019), they said the tech couldnt duplicate it, so I took him for a drive. He saw what it was doing but because his little laptop didnt show anything, he wrote on the work order he couldnt confirm the issue. They cleared the adaptive learning it apparently has and all was fine for a couple of weeks. Then, same gear, same issue. Took it back (March 2019). Same response - cant confirm and its not throwing a code soooo... here I sit. It also jumps forward when trying to slow down (ie pull into parking spot or stop sign) but I wont even make the attempt to get them to duplicate that issue.

I have a 2011 Mercury Milan that has a power steering assist fault and has stopped working. It starting happening in the summer of 2016 and would reset after turning the car off and then back on. It now has a message on the dashboard and says Power Steering Assist Fault and Advance Service Track. I researched and Ford has a recall on the same make, model and year but Ford says that my VIN number is not on the recall even my car is doing the same, exact thing and the power steering has failed. They are trying to charge me the diagnostic fee and refuse to fix my car even though there is a recall on this make, model and year. I need someones assistance! This is a danger to me and my family while driving. I do not have the funds to fix the vehicle. The part alone is $1,200 plus the labor. Ford Motor Company should be ashamed of themselves. Many other individuals have gotten in accidents because of this problem. They have totaled their vehicles and gotten hurt. Why cant Ford do the right thing and fix my vehicle? I am using all resources to announce this problem. I am so outraged and disappointed in Ford Motor Company. I am putting it out there to everyone not to ever buy a Ford and how they do not care about the lives and families who own their vehicle, and all of the recalls that they have on many different Ford vehicles. How can you have a recall on a vehicle and say that my VIN is not under the recall when it has the same, exact problem?? It is disgusting that this company can get away with this!!

We drove a very short way to our local tractor supply company to pick up feed. I was in the store for about 15 minutes. When I got to the register someone said, Theres a truck on fire in the parking lot! The fire had just started. It was up in flames and burnt to a crisp in less than ten minutes. Flames shot 20 feet up in the air and it melted the pavement under the truck. We would have been dead if it had happened twenty minutes sooner. The fire department made it in good time, but the truck was already totaled. Everything in the cab was ruined, including all three childrens car seats. Thankful I have comprehensive insurance. Its a total loss. I have no truck. >:-o Up until this point, this truck ran like a top and was very reliable.

Last year, front right coil spring failed and punctured the tire requiring the car to be towed and repaired at a cost of $550. Seven months later, rear drivers side coil failed. Today actually, not sure if the tire has been damaged. I will check that at time of pick up at a cost of $350. I have owned many, many cars and never had this problem with any of them. I am concerned with the other two. Fortunately, both failures were at low speeds. How can this not be a recall. Im much more concerned with the safety aspect than the cost. While Im happy to own a 5 Star Taurus, maybe 5 is rated a little too high, and lets get this thing fixed before people start getting hurt. Thanks!

I will be in touch on my way back from BC in a week or so. Today probably not a good day to deal with this. Last week on Thursday may 21 my 2000 Ford v10 Coachmen would not start. As a former truck driver I tried everything I could think of. Had to electrical. The engine would roll over but not ignite. Checked every fuse I could find. I then called Cypress Ford and explained what I thought was the issue and was told to try somewhere else as they had no bay for this. I called the company, they referred me to only to have them tell me to call Ford Customer Service which they in turn called Cypress Ford while I was still on the line and tell me to have it towed to Cypress Ford. These calls are recorded and someone in that building took that call and authorized it. When we reached there however, with tow truck and motorhome, I was told that I was already told not to bring this here. Only after tow truck driver intervened did the service guy retract his version and Ok’d for motorhome to be dropped and he would have technician take a look later. A nice young lady called me later to tell me Ford had determined the fuel pump was gone and would have to get one from Edmonton I think. She also informed me they found a service guy locally to replace fuel pump because he had the facility to do this type of repair and would be jobbed out to him.Friday, we had the motorhome towed to j&js Roadside Service and told pump would be here sat am. That didnt happen as truck bringing parts broke down and told that truck would be in Sunday. Picked up pump myself and helped this guy install on Monday. Only to find it wasnt the pump at all. This service guy Kent called Cypress 2-3 times and told technician off today but would try and locate him. We needed someone with electrical knowledge of Ford v10 ignition but got no help. Finally about 4:30 he found the problem. A 25 cent fuse. How about that. So here is the issue I have pump not needed $801. Bill for service guy you sent me to, $1341. Bill for motel, $521. Bill for car rental, $150. So it cost me over $2800 for a 25 cent fuse. I want to hear what Cypress Ford has to say as far as covering this. The call at Ford customer service was recorded and clarifies what I said here. I have no interest in stopping to-day to debate who did what. Not the money. Understand I will get it back. You can reply to this e-mail if you like as I will be forwarding on to Ford. I own and operate my own business back home in NB and have made errors myself but I always make them right no matter what it costs.

This is about Lugoff Ford and what has happened with Ford Corporate. Low levels of integrity especially when faced with legal grey areas. Spot deliveries should be removed as they do nothing but help the dealer and put the potential owners in a precarious position if the unapproved financing falls through. A disabled veteran, who has never purchased a new truck finally decides to make the leap, a dealership who on the surface seems amazing to deal with. One spot delivery and failed financing deal two days later, and the honeymoon is short lived. Out of town and unable to review new documentation I requested the dealer to pick up its truck as financing had failed, it was their truck, and I couldnt give a yes or no until the paperwork was reviewed. Unfortunately for both parties, a drunk driver drove through my yard before my return, and broke the frame of this brand new truck. Putting on a wonderful front, attempting to help (at least on the surface), it seemed all was well. The insurance questioned who owned the truck, because documentation was never signed, and the fun began. On the verge of harassment the dealership went so far as to say they would drive to wherever I was located to get me to sign the documentation, because, in their eyes, why wouldnt I sign the documents I never had a chance to go over. They went so far as to say that the approving credit union knew the truck was wrecked, and that it was deemed OK. A quick phone call to a branch manager proved that the dealership was lying and never disclosed the accident, as a result, the credit union started that neither I or they had financial responsibility to the new truck. The dealer then took the stance that regardless, I owned the truck, and it was my responsibility, and I was on my own. Calls left unanswered, phone calls never returned, and a GM who wouldnt make contact, in stepped lawyers on both sides.  A month later and the issue is unresolved, the dealer refuses to be amicable, and now they have gone so far as to push my personally identifiable information to ANOTHER creditor, obtain an approval without my permission or signature, and expect me to make a payment on a truck I have yet to sign for by the 7th of January. As a disabled veteran, this is heartbreaking to be apart of, it has put me back in therapy. We have approached the VA and Prisma Health (my wifes place of employment) about publishing our story in their newsletter, as it obvious the only thing this dealer understands or respects is the bottom line. I will also be contacting, if approved, all local news outlets that are willing to listen, as this needs to be out in the open. I wonder how many lost customers this issue will cause? And for what? A truck? With so many Ford dealerships to choose from, Lugoff Ford (and by virtue the whole family of dealerships IE Lugoff Toyota, Carolina Dodge, etc.) needs to understand the repercussions of taking advantage of its disabled veterans and hospital workers.

The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) on my 2010 Ford Edge with only 36876 miles went out and the repair cost me $1900. Ford is aware of this issue but it has not escalated to being recalled. However, if you somehow get both keys set as MyKey, there is nothing undo feature that the customer can do, except take the car to the dealership, and pay between $150 and $300 dollars to have this reset. I called Ford consumer complaints and asked them to pay for this, since their faulty system caused the problem, and was told no, and there was no one else to talk to at Ford to get this done. It is way too easy to do this by mistake, and then you are locked out of your enjoyment and use of the car you purchased. Basically, a Ford customer is not worth $150 to keep them happy. Let this be a lesson to any prospective buyers, DO NOT BUY FORD. This has been the biggest piece of junk that I have ever had the displeasure of driving. Bought it used in late 2015, still had the original warranty on it thank God! Within one week of purchase, the transmission had to have nineteen (19) parts replaced. There have been numerous check engine lights and warning lights since this. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor, front passenger side lower control arm went out after a little over 60,000 miles ($400 and up fix if you get it from Ford/3rd Party). Now the Sync system has completely failed. No audio from voice activation, SiriusXM, CD player, MP3, Phone or AUX. Nothing has worked. Pulled the battery, disconnected at the neutral connection to the frame. Pulled the fuse and still nothing. Learned there was an extension for the APIM module, that should fix this problem, but it expired in 2015! Ford is completely ridiculous and they will never get another penny from me. As soon as possible this P.O.S. is getting traded and I plan on never even looking at Ford again as a reputable manufacturer. I hope that this will give some of you an idea of what to look forward to should you purchase one or if you own one, what is to come. Run away, fast!

However it was banging into gear at times. I brought it in, they did some work on it, and when I left the problem was still there. I went back to the dealership the next day, drove with the service advisor (very nice guy), and was told that is actually the way it should be working. I have a case number and a contact, Mark **, who does not call me back. I have left at least six messages on his voice mail. This is my 3rd Expedition, Ford replaced the V-8 Engine that was in my earlier models with a V-6, added a very noisy fan to cool the AC system without notification to the buyer. My dealer has contacted Engineering and they say they do not have a problem and that the noise is Normal?? They do have a problem and need to provide a solution or terminate their engineers. The mechanics and Service manager and dealer at my dealership agree that the car is very noisy and believe Ford also went cheap on the AC system and that is why engineering put huge fan (noisy) in vehicle, to Cover their back end! I would not recommend the 2016 Expedition or the F-150 with the V-6 to anyone. Vehicle is not to Ford standards and neither is their Customer Care division.

My 2001 Mercury Sable LS had two broken coil springs in the rear and my wife was commuting with my daughter in the car. I noticed the sag and took it into the shop and told me that if I had waited any longer, she would have had an accident because the spring had corkscrewed a few inches from the inside sidewall! Ford would not cover it, even though it is a defect in metal and quality. It cost me $700 to replace rear suspension. Then my cars front tires were wearing unevenly, so I brought it to the tire shop to have it balanced and rotated. I asked the technician what he noticed and said the tires were wearing a little weird. I already knew I had a problem from there. I brought it to a reputable local front end shop and they found broken springs in the front! I called Ford to complain and they said that there was an extended customer courtesy on the front springs 10 years or 140K, but I did not qualify any longer - 80K on the car but a year too late. I said, “NHSTA says it’s a safety hazard, so I dont understand why you would not be interested in taking care of your customers and their families?” The rep. repeated the same speech and said the engineers often review these reports and could address this again in the future. So now, Im stuck with another suspension bill. This is why people leave the brand, a little help builds loyalty.

I got my car serviced at a dealership and soon after all the engine oil leaked out. The check engine oil light came on. I called the dealership and they said I have Fords roadside assistance so Im covered. However you are only covered up to $100. The catch is Ford will hire a third party vendor to tow or work on your car, in my case, a tow truck. Even though the car had to be towed just $25 miles, the vendor asked for $250+ and Ford obliged. So I was on the hook for $150. Needless to say the entire process is super tedious and infuriating. Most of the service reps behave as if they are doing you a favor by just talking you. Don’t fall for this “service”.

I bought a Ford Escape 2015 brand new car. During the warranty, DVD player, Bluetooth stop working so they have upgraded software. During warranty, wheel nuts was damage in a year, but they said its not covered so end up paying $200 or so. Steering coating started peeling out but again it was under warranty so was covered. Now after 3 years, DVD player and Bluetooth stop working again. Dear says its not under warranty even though I explained them that issue was incurred within 2 years. Called Ford customer service head office but found they are useless. I strongly feel that their vehicle and customer services both are sucks.

Well lets start off by saying you go to the dealer and you are interested in buying a new truck that you can plow with. So you get a price of $67,988 and youre like Damn thats a lot of cash. Then you make sure it has all the options that are needed for your likings. Loaded out, Lariat plow package and all the goodies. So you break the bank and go thru with the purchase and get it home. Get the new Boss plow set up all done and go out for the first plow of the season in November and you get a clicking relay in the dash. Well come to find out after plowing for a little bit it seems to get worse. Then all of a sudden your radio and heater goes off for a few seconds. Then it does it again five more time. Then the whole dash and electrical system goes down for approx. 2 minutes. So the following day I start calling Ford and dont get anywhere other than take it to the dealer. So I do that and they tell me there is nothing wrong. So this has been going on since Nov 25th. Well Ive had it at the dealer 5 times and then I find out that Ford is producing truck that states you have a plow prep package on them and you cant plow with them without getting a power spiking issue which causes the BCM to shut all the required electronics to shut down. So my bitch is how can Ford knowingly sell a truck as a plow truck and have all these problems. And after contacting Ford customer relations Im not any farther than I was in November. Ford has known about this problem since the 2014 model and still will not take any responsibility for fixing these problems. My advice is to check out the options on the vehicle and make sure there isnt and hidden notices where something cant be used properly. This a safety recall if I have ever seen one.

We parked our truck at our apartment complex again with no signs of anything that could have triggered a fire. At 11:30 pm our neighbors had notified us that our truck was on fire. The fire department arrived about 20 minutes into the fire leaving the truck completely nonexistent. The fire department told us the fire had started in the engine. Ive never heard of some kind of recall in these models of trucks, Ford company should be responsible for all these damages.

Two hours later I was told they would be there in 15 minutes. They never showed up and would not answer my calls. It was 4:00am before they called someone else to come out. Which would be 45 minutes before they would get there. Which they did show up and unlocked the door. We were traveling home from our vacation and had been on the road since 9:00am that morning. A few years ago, I purchased a 2004 White Police Interceptor Crown Victoria. Shortly after the purchase, I noticed that the paint was peeling and blowing away with the wind. This was not my first experience with this condition, so I knew immediately what was wrong. Incompatibility between the paint and primer used at the factory. At the start of flaking, I scraped away the loose paint on the edges of the patch, primered it with a spray can hoping to seal the edges and not allow the wind to lift more of the paint. Then I repainted the spots with a spray can of white paint. Sorry to report that this patch only lasted a matter of weeks before the wind got under the original paint once again and flaking continued. I have a bunch of pictures showing this condition covering most of the roof and trunk lid as well spots on the rest of the car. I had thought of putting a sign on the car stating that this was an original Ford paint job that was flaking away, but I havent done that yet. I had to at least prime the roof spots because rust was starting to show. I called Ford service only to find out the people who answered were not Ford employees, but a company hired as gatekeepers to fend off pesky complaints that they probably dumped in the trash at the end of each shift. Apparently Ford is not interested in owning up to their mistake with the paint job as they have ignored my request for a fix. As I said above, this is not my first experience with this issue.I purchased a 1986 Ford F-150 that exhibited the exact same problem with the paint, and after much correspondence with Ford (at that time you could talk directly to a Ford rep.), they recalled the truck, stripped the paint completely and repainted the whole truck. I am very pleased with this car in every other way and would be forever grateful if someone out there could reach into Ford and bring this to their attention, and hopefully, a satisfactory resolution. Thanks.

Writing this because people have been complaining about this and wondering which direction to turn? My daughters boyfriend was in need of a new car. I suggested the Ford Fusion so he purchased a new 2016 in December. The car now has 10,000 miles on it and it stopped running. We have had the car in the local dealership and they have found wires that have been chewed by rodents that number one are not covered by warranty. After going on to Google, I have found that this is a problem that many new car companies are finding. The wiring that is being used is of a material that rodents love and find irresistible to chew. My question is who is going to pay for this if warranty doesnt cover this? Do we have to sue? Also who do we sue? This is not going to be inexpensive? Just really cant believe with all the people complaining that something is not being done. Please respond -- you can call me **.

2011 Crown Victoria - At 40K miles the vent control module stopped working. At the same time the cigarette lighter and 12 volt accessory plug started experiencing intermittent power failures. I had the dealer check out both problems and they said it would cost $1000 to replace the vent control module (plenum) and air box. They could not find any electrical problems with the cigarette lighter and accessory plug.I had my mechanic replace the plenum and air box for $850. Parts were $350 and the Ford dealer had 20 plenums and air boxes in stock. Seems Ford knows there is a problem with these units and they keep plenty in stock. Its a quick money maker for them it seems. Electrical problem - I tested the cigarette lighter and found that there was a problem with the ground wire. I removed the drink tray to get to the wiring and discovered that ground wires had been connected using a flat wire connector. Over time the wires were so flattened by the connector that they had broken off. I removed the flat connector and re-connected the wires using a standard round crimp connector. Problem solved. The Crown Victorias have been produced by Ford for over 10 years and you would assume that most problems would have been resolved during that time. Unfortunately, it seems that Ford keeps using cheap parts in their vehicles and the owners of these vehicles will constantly be on the hook for repairs. No wonder ford sales continue to decline.

I bought a 2015 Mustang EcoBoost Premium Convertible from a Ford dealership
I bought a 2015 Mustang EcoBoost Premium Convertible from a Ford dealership. I was very happy with my purchase initially. A year later, 1 week before my warranty ended, I got A/C and seat heating/cooling issues. I took my vehicle to a Ford service and they were super helpful in the beginning. They told me all my issues were covered under the certified pre-owned warranty and they even gave me a rental for $2/day because I had premium vehicle benefits. They also said there was a nail in one of my tires and they would patch that up for $35 and the rest would be a $100 deductible. They put me on a Lyft for free and I got my rental from Enterprise. I only paid for insurance. It was too good to be true! The day my vehicle was supposed to be ready I got a call from the service center. They told me they fixed the A/C but the seat heating/cooling would be $750!!! When I asked why, they told me there was something syrupy in the electrical system under the car and a soda can probably exploded inside the vehicle! I swear to God thats what the guy said. Of course, this is completely BS. I mean I would have to clean the entire interior of the vehicle if something like that happened. There were no stains anywhere inside my vehicle and this guy had the audacity to suggest that a soda can EXPLODED in my vehicle and it magically only got in the electrical system under the seat. Needless to say, I was really pissed at this petty attempt to charge me an extra $750 and I contacted Ford customer service to deliver my complaint. They basically replied me with an automated message saying how they understand my frustration but they fully support the dealerships decision. Long story short, I am not saying never buy from Ford but just be aware that in their core they are a company that puts making money over their customer service and they will milk every penny out of you if they can. There are better car companies out there folks. I know that I will never ever buy a Ford again but if you do choose to risk your money you have been warned and its on you now.

2016 Ford Escape 1.6 engine - I bought this Ford Escape because I have always bought Fords, American made. When I bought this Ford I was happy with the deal and the vehicle, shook the salesman hand and was told, Youre getting a really good vehicle here. You keep up the oil changes and get new tires when needed, you probably will have this vehicle for a very long time. I commute 170 miles round trip per day to work from home. Averaging about 35,000-40,000 per year. Current mileage was 85,000 miles when driving down the road and vehicle began to lose power and the engine RPM increased. On the cluster red wrench light came on transmission fault service now and I could not accelerate. And the car decelerated rapidly. I managed to get the vehicle back to the house. Started it the next morning and got about 3 miles from the house when it repeated the same issues.I arranged for a flatbed to transport my vehicle to the local Ford dealership to get the vehicle diagnosed. Was informed from the service rep that the computer was indicating No Pressure and Improper Gear Ratio. Was told that Ford recommends to replace the entire transmission, which quoted a price of $4,700.00 for the part and an additional $1,500 to $2,000 for labor to remove and install the transmission. Warranty on a replaced transmission would be 100,000 miles and 3 years. What I do not understand is if a replacement transmission has this warranty, why does not a transmission in a vehicle built from the factory have the same warranty? Vehicle was no longer under the Ford standard Powertrain Warranty of 60,000 miles so, cost was all out of pocket.Service rep made the recommendation of contact Ford Service Customer Care and submit a claim. Made the call that evening and within 2 days received a response, stating: We have thoroughly reviewed your request and after careful consideration we regret that Ford is not able to provide financial assistance to address your issue. We are sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations at this time and recommend you continue to work with your Ford dealership to provide the best service for your vehicle in the future. So much for customer care. I understand that the vehicle has 85,000 but still it is only a 2 year old vehicle. Under the Ford Maintenance Schedule for a 2016 Ford Escape, the transmission is not to be serviced till 150,000 miles, which is just an oil change. I have had this vehicle serviced religiously with Ford for all oil changes, tire rotations or any other mechanical issue. Always have had a multi-point inspection done as well on the vehicle. Just had this vehicle serviced the month prior to this event and received a green check across the board on everything.Would recommend having your transmission looked at more closely in this vehicle, can be a costly overlook to you by your Ford service department. Needless to say, was not happy with Ford handling of this situation and especially the Ford Customer Care Relationship Center. Must be easy for someone to push a button saying No, when they do not need to put their name on a response and account for their actions.

I love Ford vehicles. My first was an Explorer which I had for about 4-5 years but when both my dogs passed away, I needed to move on to help me forget but I sold it on my own and got a pretty penny for it. This was a rare occasion because I like to hold on to my vehicles. So I took the check I received for it and started my search for my next Ford. And of course there are the naysayers who will tell you that Ford stands for found on road dead But not in my case. My next Ford was in 1996, the last year they made the Bronco. I bought it in Nov of 1995 and I drove it for 20 years with regular upkeep but not one problem along the way. One month short of 20 years it got tired and had to go to Bronco heaven. I had more people asking me if I would consider selling it because I take care of my cars and even after 20 years, there was not a speck of rust on it. I was stopped at a light one day and the guy behind me got out of his car and came to my window just to tell me what a nice truck it was. Since then, I have been driving a non Ford car that I had in storage and I hate it. You cant see over other cars and trucks when you are stuck in traffic. But, never fear, the word is out that Ford will be bringing the Bronco back in 2018 and I will be the first in line. I just wish they would bring the little side windows back. They were awesome too.

The car has 41000 miles on the vehicle with a 65000 mile warranty. The car was in the shop for a complete overhaul on the transmission. This took over 30 days to repair. I received the vehicle back only to find out the issue was not resolved. I then returned with the vehicle to be repaired. They performed another overhaul on the transmission. The vehicle is still not fixed and this time it’s been almost 2 months. My ** case manager is Michelle **. Regional Customer Service Person. She told me the vehicle will not qualify for a buyback because I’m a secondary owner. I have to stay on top of this person consistently to find out the updates on the vehicle. This is a common issue with the Ford Edge vehicles. She can’t give me a time frame of when the vehicle will be returned or the status on the current issue. I have continued to make the payments on the vehicle. Michelle hasn’t made any attempt to accommodate me even after asking. This is my first Ford vehicle and I will tell you this was a mistake doing business with Ford.

I drove my truck 5 hours a day except for Sunday. My starter went out in my driveway. It started acting up 2 days before. I decided to have it towed to the Ford dealership near me. My wife told me what the estimate was going to be the next day $5,500. They told her the engine was going to have to be replaced. Even though the motor didnt burning any oil up. It had good suspension and steering or a safety hazard and had many parts to replace. When I spoke with the service manager he told me there were safety issues. The ball joints were going out all the way around. There are no ball joints in the rear. I believe there is no honesty or integrity and the way they run their service department. Most people dont bring an older vehicle to the dealership. But mine is a 2000 and this is 2016. I feel as though you get what you pay for. But not in this case. Looking at the long list of repairs and how important they are their estimate should have been even more than what they told me giving me the impression that the job was probably going to be charged for and not done. Now there is $3,000 that I have for repairs. Overlooking the fact that the truck was brought in just for a starter I tried to negotiate take care of the safety issues which I dont know if Ill be charged and ripped off for. Because the suspension and steering I had been serviced correctly through the years. And to put a starter in add not replace the motor. Lets see if this is going to cost the full $3,000. I bet Im going to be ripped off any way I look at it. Because its my only vehicle and the truck is at the shop and immovable. Purchased a 2011 Ford Fiesta SE. After the purchase, I had problems with the transmission. Further research turned up that Ford is well aware of this problem and extended a warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles to replace the transmission. I purchased the car just AFTER the 7 year mark. Ford has been unwilling to repair this well known problem. How as a company, when you know you have put out a faulty product do you not stand behind it and repair it? This is in excess of $3,000 to repair myself. Additionally, Ford customer service and consumer affairs were rude and not at all helpful. When I called them they told me since it was beyond the 7 years they would not help. I asked for a supervisor and they told me no, that the supervisor was just going to tell me the same thing anyways. I then filed a complaint with the BBB. When Ford called to respond to that, they called from a blocked number and left a quick message, basically saying that they did extend the warranty and its basically my fault I didnt repair it in that time (even though I didnt have the car at that time). I own a 2010 Ford Fusion. I paid off my car in Jan. 2016 and the warranty expired w/o the option to renew. Lo and behold my power steering started failing, so my husband researched the issue and found there is a pending class action against Ford Motor Co. for the exact same issue. I needed to get my car fixed because it was dangerous. The repairs cost over $1,600. I asked Ford Motor Co. to reimburse me for the repairs since it was discovered in the lawsuit that Ford knew of the defect prior to the 2010 Ford Fusion going into production. What was Fords response, Because your car is out of warranty and you agreed to pay for the repairs, the claim is denied. Ford is not a reputable company. They hid the issue and only issued a recall on later models. The cost of replacement has created a hardship on my family. Shame on you Ford for not standing behind your products. $1,600+ is a minimal amount to Ford. Why cant they step up?

Ford Motor Company ignored and did not respond to our complaint about serious defect in the cruise control! We have a 2021 Ford Transit 3500 with only 2,200 miles. While cruise was set at 70 mph driving on I-5 in Late October it slowed automatically to about 40 MPH while in right lane as we were approaching a traffic slow down in both lanes. We moved into the left passing lane at about 35 MPH at that time and traffic was starting to slow down when suddenly and surprisingly the Adaptive Cruise Control accelerated violently towards a vehicle in the left lane which was stopping quickly directly in front of us. It was like we were going into warp drive on Star Trek Enterprise with another truck almost stopped right before us! It happened so fast that it seemed hitting the brakes did not slow us down or cancel the cruise control. We had a horrible collision with the truck in front of us at maybe going about 45 to 50MPH causing deployment of the front airbags. It has been so very disappointing that Ford Motor Company did not respond to my appeal on 10/29/2021 to answer our concern when I communicated with the online representative on the Ford Website. The associate I communicated with would not answer my questions or address the issue so I asked for her to forward this concern to her supervisor or manager, which she agreed to. I also called the general Manager at Damerow Ford in Beaverton Oregon and explained the situation. I had ordered the truck through them from the factory. The result was also zero help and guidance also.My auto insurance carrier did not want to address this issue saying that since the personal injury was minor it did not merit them getting involved investigating the possible defect in Fords product. We sustained back and neck injury and are still experiencing pain from the wreck 2 months ago. Also the truck is at a dealer now awaiting repairs and rebuilding. I would like to recommend that to save lives, injury and damage to property that Adaptive cruise control from Ford Motor Company be used with extreme caution until the manufacturer stops ignoring this concern and does their job to protect their customer.

I have owned this vehicle which is a 2017 for one year. In that time I have had to replace the fuel system twice. Once for a catastrophic fuel pump failure. The other 1600 miles later. Ford swears it’s contaminated fuel. I believe it was done because the the repair was not completed correctly by Ford Motor Company. Ford will not back or stand behind their product. I will never purchase another Ford again.

In July 2017 our 2013 Ford F-150 lost all braking power. Had truck towed and they replaced Master Cylinder and brake booster. I researched and found our truck was manufactured 4 months too early to be included in a recall for this very issue. Ford headquarters finally agreed to pay us $350 of our $574 bill. We have a complaint number and approval code. HOWEVER it is October and the local dealership Sam Packs Ford Country of Lewisville TX refuses to cut our partial hush payment! Ive emailed and called too many times to both headquarters and local shop!!! Im done with Ford and ready to spread the word of their refusal to admit to faulty parts and refusal to honor partial payment! They are liable and are trying to avoid all accountability. Shame on Ford as we all know BRAKES ARE OPTIONAL on Ford vehicles!!!

Fall of 2014, purchased a new Expedition (traded in an older one, which I loved). Im happy with the vehicle; just not the dealership. Whenever I had questions about operation of things on the vehicle, went back or called dealership, and they always helped. But when I hit a post because the backup system alarm didnt work – another story. Had the same system on the old one and it always worked. Now, apparently, the system was turned off. Had to be turned on, which was never mentioned by the salesman or the book. Even called Ford and they took no responsibility either – no one does, because it works – just not turned on. This was never an option in the old one & I was never told differently. Now I have a 4 figure repair, to learn this little quirk to the system, and no one wants to take any responsibility!!

But they have not received clutch from USA and asked me to go back for 3rd time. In past the service guys have done the same thing, they called me to service station and then asked me to go back. Do they do communication in between? Or at least notify your customer before they arrived. I have changed my working shift because of them for 3rd time and what I got at the end: nothing. Poor service. Very Upset with the customer service they are offering.

I had been hit on the head which caused damage to my brain in which I haven
I had been hit on the head which caused damage to my brain in which I havent been able to work. My wife is in kidney failure awaiting treatment for chemo and had been infusing to stay alive! We have always been good payers with Ford credit company, have always, when we made an arrangement to pay, did pay my Ford account. My wife called and was not authorized on my account and talked to Ford customer service department in regards to payment arrangements on my truck, acct **, for an F250 truck. Ford spoke to her and she had asked about it in the future, since I was sick with head injury, if we had to give back vehicle voluntarily in the future, if something happened, what are the steps. The customer service advised her not to do that and to try to find another person to buy the contract and get out of name. The customer service looked at the account and said that as long as $45 was made and a payment of $175 was made in 7 days, the account would be fine and the vehicle would be okay. And, Ford would work with us on the truck until health was better as we were good customers with Ford! After the conversation with Ford, my wife said that she had asked about repossession, they werent interested in doing that. After she heard what would happen, payment then was made on the truck for $399.15 and another for $175 and $200 through the automated system on the phone.Anytime I tried to pay my account over the phone, the contract number would come up as fusion and SSN would not match. Ford was told several times about the error, something was done in refinance, several payments were made, and 3 days later, at 1:40 am, my truck was repossessed from my yard, after my being in the hospital with severe brain injury. Ford had told me a week before the vehicle was fine as long as arrangement was followed through and the Ford truck would not be in default or repossessed in which there was no letter, no warning, nothing. They came, got the truck with payment arrangement done and agreed to by Ford Credit! Payments that were made werent credited correctly on the truck or the other acct **. Edge is ahead, not due till August 2012 with $100 due in July 2012.Being sick, I requested help with the truck since I havent been able to work and I could have borrowed money to catch up payment if I knew of them coming to get the truck! There was no letter, no warning! Yolanda, in customer service, is rude. She told my wife and me on the speaker phone after the truck had been repossessed that the reason was because my wife had asked about voluntary surrendering of the truck if something happened in the future but not at present time. Ford should have not even spoken to my wife about the account. I should have been contacted with this information. It was my account, not my wifes! The repossession company, the driver for Carolina Lending out of Myrtle Beach, SC picked the truck up 3 days after payment arrangement was made and payment posted on Saturday, the 12th. The truck was picked up on the 10th.The repossession driver lied and was rude to my wife and taunted me at the repossession lot, laughed and said the only reason this happened was because of my last name, **. The driver held a grudge for the ** family and threatened that he was coming for my Edge that was current. The system at Ford doesnt post for 3 days or more. That is not my fault. My Edge is not due till August 2012. The driver was rude and threatening me on the lot with vulgar language and rudeness! The police have a report! Ford had no right to speak to an unauthorized person on the account and also, after payment arrangement was made and agreed, and customer service told me a week before and my wife, that nothing would happen and they repossessed. This was wrong. Please help me. Now they want me to pay my truck in full, $18,000. Yolanda is a rude and nasty person at customer service and the supervisor Ms. ** wont call me back! Please help me!

I believe someone may have tried to break in my 2015 Explorer. I never realized that my door handle was plastic. All it took was a screwdriver to break it. Fortunately they were scared away. Otherwise they could have pried the lock and got into my vehicle. This handle is used on 2011 - 2017 models, part number 78218A14. This piece of plastic cost $68.50 plus tax. It is poorly made. They wanted a fortune to install it so we are taking it to a body shop who will install it for $30. Be aware that they change prices on you from one day to the next. We were quoted $68.50 on Friday and then on Tuesday they wanted $75. Ford used to be my favorite car manufacturer, but is not anymore. This vehicle has a lousy paint job that Ford would not stand behind, issues with the battery, and seat belt problems.

In July 2014 I received a letter of a Recall on my vehicle regarding the Torque Sensor and Steering Column going out. I took it in to the Dealership where they did whatever they were suppose to do (I assume), though it only took them approx. 5 to 10 mins. At that time I was not having any issues with my vehicle. Speed up now to March 2016, I started having issues with my steering wheel vibrating and moving back and forth and my vehicle making odd noises. I took it in to the same dealership to be checked, they did a diagnostic test and told me my Torque Sensor/steering column were going out. I had them do the repairs. That evening after I okayd the repairs I found the Recall Letter which was in regards to the issue I was having now with my vehicle. I told Steve in the Service Dept and he called Ford Motors to see if my vehicle was covered for the Parts and Labor as the Recall letter stated, he was told No. I also called Ford Motors and was told No that the Recall had expired. In the Recall letter it states that Alternatively, the dealer may need to replace the torque sensor or the steering column. This service will be performed free of charge (parts and labor). I find Ford Motors to be very dishonest and they dont care about their customers safety. They obviously knew of the faulty parts in my vehicle, hence the Recall Letter I received. I did take it in to the dealership when I received that notice. Again at the time of the Recall my vehicle was fine, a little over a year and a half later I end up with the exact issue of that Recall. I feel Ford Motors Company should cover these charges and reimburse me. I have also emailed Ford Motors and received the same response No that the Recall has expired, and after the first 12,000 the warranty is no good. They should cover these parts.

Ford Customer Service treats its customers like 2nd class citizens. They tell you one thing then do another. The settlement offer payment I sent in on 09/19/12 took almost 2 weeks to post. Now I was told that they are selling my vehicle at a private sale if I do not send in the balance plus repossession fee which I have already done. It was delivered at 8:57am on 10/09/12 and as of now it has not been posted to my account. I have sent the money both times and Ford has faltered on their end by not posting the payments in a timely manner. They have moved the vehicle from 100 miles to 200 miles away. Now I have to get someone to go with so that I can get my vehicle if Ford decided to post the payment. Do not worry that there will most likely be another post if I ended up losing my vehicle because of the way Ford does business. I would never recommend Ford or Ford Credit to even my worst enemy, much less a friend.

At the beginning of June I was lucky enough to notice that one of my doors was not closing before I left my parking spot. I had the car towed in to a Ford service center and was expecting it to have it fixed within a couple of days. I mean it is just a door latch (which they made out of PLASTIC by the way). After a few days of waiting I find out that they want to hold onto the car until at least September, for some reason they dont have this simple part anywhere in stock. Thats at least 3 MONTHS without a car that I am paying monthly and they are offering some rental car reimbursement for a small compact car which is only about $30 a day and I think the cheapest rental car is $35, nowhere near the value of the car I am leasing from them. If it was only for a week or two then I would have no problem with that. I have called them numerous times in order to work something out, maybe get the same value car rental compared to the one I am leasing, but they dont want to do anything. The customer means NOTHING to this company. You are absolutely 0 to them. As long as they are getting money from you they dont care how you are being inconvenienced.I had the pleasure of speaking to the regional manager of Ford in NY and she was utterly useless. The first time she called she couldnt even locate the car after I gave her the VIN and the dealership where the car is located. The second time she called she basically told me she cant do anything using her resources, another word I heard thrown around while on the phone with them. Its like they work on favors. She made it sound like I should feel privileged that they are even offering me a rental in the first place. She told me that the dealer can use their resources, again this word, and try to get the part faster or something. They are basically making me call everyone for them instead of them solving the issue. Its not my job do that, its theirs. Its the reason why they get paid. In my opinion this person gets paid for no reason and her job should be given to someone else that can actually help the customer. So to review: stuck 3 months without a car I am paying for, Ford is offering a partial reimbursement for a rental, Ford regional manager is useless (she does anything but manage). I will never in my life consider buying/leasing a Ford product again (including Lincoln).

I bought a used 2005 Ford Coachmen RV. All the seals leaks around the windows and around a vent which allows an outlet to get wet which causes a GFCI breaker to trip every time it rains. I also have a friend that has a 99 Expedition. His seal leaks around the front windshield causing the computer to short out. I have a friend with a 03 Ranger that leaks and causes the anti theft to engage. Theres several cases like this I know of and Ford hasnt recalled these vehicles.

I was initially very excited about what appeared to be very positive changes at Ford, and purchased both an F150 FX4 pickup, and a Lincoln MKC SUV. Nice to feel good again about buying American vehicles. But I learned the hard way that Ford does a terrible job of standing behind their products. With the F150 truck, there was a brake booster recall that took months to resolve. And they will use any excuse to not honor warranties. On the truck, bubbling rust started to appear on one of the running boards with less than 30,000 miles on the vehicle. When I initially went to the local dealer to have the truck washed and have this looked at, they told me to come back because the car wash wasnt working. I came back 2 weeks later (the dealer is not convenient to get to) and was told that even though the truck had less than 30,000 miles, it was now 11 days out of warranty and Ford might not cover the repair. The claim was submitted and Ford denied it. Yet clearly this rust problem did not just magically appear just after the warranty expired. Fords decision to not honor this minor claim shows how little they value their customers. And that they dont stand behind their products. As the saying goes - people vote with their feet. Thankfully there are many worthy competitors that prioritize customer service. I have learned a lesson and will never buy another Ford product.

I have contacted Ford Customer Care and they just tell me its out of warranty. They made a case #, denied the case, and didnt even tell me. Their customer service is extremely poor. My 2013 Ford Fiesta hatchback titanium required a tow in year 3 with no other issues other than the battery dying and the radio console freezing up a few times which I was able to fix myself. It is an American made car that was extremely well priced with attractive features such as moonroof, leather seats, heated seats, rear camera, GPS system, enhanced audio sound system that a lot of the foreign cars offer at their base price models. It came in a manual which was important to me and hard to find. Some of the car pieces are made of plastic though where it should not be. The hood latch and several metal pieces under the hood have seized which I find absurd since I take great care of my vehicle. The whole vehicle is dependent upon a computer system that can be quite finicky at times especially when wet or cold outside.

My husband & I were Ford truck believers for many years until 2016! From our past experience, we expected our 2008 F450 diesel (with the 6.4L engine), would take us into retirement and beyond until the engine blew up this year, with just over 100,000 miles! $18455.66 later, and a lousy 2 year warranty on the new (same, defective engine), we found out that this engine is expected to fail around 100,000 miles making it the worst engine in the Ford truck line. (Our 1999 F350 is still on the road at 250,000+ miles!)I tried to contact Fords Customer Service (which is really their Customer Dis-service as the one answering the phone only has a first name and no boss to appeal to). My expectation was to get a reasonable 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty on the new engine instead of a crappy 2 year warranty (which is equivalent to a 30,000 mile warranty). The mechanics told us they could bulletproof the replacement engine, after the 2 year warranty expired, for about $8000! My question is, why isnt the replacement engine bulletproofed already? What was once a great company with integrity has been replaced by fraud and failure. I am embarrassed to be driving a Ford after my humble retirement account has been robbed of $20,000.

Ive had 2 vehicles now that have had this problem, 2014 Escape & my new 2015 Explorer. With both vehicles the leather gets a dark color on the seat backs not the seats themselves. Ive been told numerous times Ford warranty wont cover it because they dont classify this as a defect. They tell me its a fabric transfer. How can it be a fabric transfer when I wear white most of the time because I live in Florida? So today I get a reply from Pauline in the Ford customer service department stating Ford will not do anything to fix this problem. I know Im not the only Ford owner with this problem. So Ive invested $200 on specially made seat covers for the explorer because of the airbags. Needless to say this is my last investment in a Ford product. Im just plain tired of arguing with a brick wall. The dealership had one of their people put shoe polish on as a temporary fix. REALLY!?! Id like to hear if any other Ford owners have had this same problem. Feel free to email me: **. I know Im not crazy, that this is a problem Ford just doesnt want to fix. Have thought to write reviews before, then decided not for fear of upsetting local dealership who keeps my lesser half on an even keel. The thing is, I just spent the full first day of my vacation trying to make sure my Ford was not going to screw me over on this trip. And this is the 4th or 5th time that the Ford has played a major role on a vacation--as saboteur each time. Have never had a vehicle that actively impacted vacations before. Its like the Ford knows! All I can relate it to, is going on vacation with a passive-aggressive person that you are obligated to take along. Not pleasant.2016 New Ford: Dealership dragged butts getting customizations done, and even though gave weeks of lead time, was left taking loaner vehicle (without all the camping customizations) on the big trip I was excited that Ford was going to make amazing. 2016 First Camping Trip w/ *My* Ford: Had 3,000 miles on it. Camped in middle of nowhere with no cell coverage and no people. Ford blew its engine. Yes. It really did. A passing car relayed my info to the Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance for me (remember, I am left stranded in the forest). Fords roadside assistance apparently told them I was too remote for them to send a tow. So they abandoned me. Left me in forest to die. Totally Benghazid me. But these *strangers* did not. They called around and found a local tow guy who would go out there and get me and my new paper-weight: the Ford. The guy towed me to local dealership some 60 miles away. The Ford dealership could not be bothered on a weekend to get me a rental car, and was located outside of town. Me and dogs had to walk several miles into town and back out when Home Dealership from 200 miles away sent trailer to pick up the Ford. It turns out that each local dealer apparently has own way of handling warranty work and this other dealership did not consider me their problem since I did not buy it there, nor did they have any idea what this Platinum Plan amounted to.2017 Flat Tire In Middle of Nowhere: Could not figure out the surprisingly complicated tire delivery system that had to be assembled and unlocked and operated. So tried calling Ford Roadside Assistance. They had no idea either. Nor could they send a tow truck because it turns out Platinum Plan only good for $100 tow. No worries! I eventually figured it out, just thought could make a quick call and get a minute of help to seed things up but spent an hour getting zero help instead. Made it home tired from expedition, and in dark, also having spent 2 extra hours in the dark getting tire changed.2017 Flat Tire Near Home. Ok, this time I knew how to get tire down. But could not get flat wheel off truck! Had to call tow truck because wheel corrosion welded onto axle courtesy of Ford dissimilar metals causing electrolysis and corrosion. Sure, everyone uses aluminum wheels. Yet Ford is only one that wheel simply would not come off for me. I tried kicking it and almost broke foot. Tried prying it and damaged wheel. By the way, Ford Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance insisted I was over 60 miles away from my home or some such and so refused to tow me there (too far). However, the person was unable to make sense of where I was and could not even find me on map--so no idea how she knew the distance. At any rate, having lived here for 20 years, I assured her I was only 10 miles from house but she refused or could not override what the system that did not know where I was at was telling her for the distance. I called the roadside assistance that came with my car insurance and they sent a tow truck... to change the tire. The tow guy had to get under truck that was up on jack and pound on wheel with 5lb hammer. He suggested I carry 5lb hammer, block of wood, and some extra jack stands to make truck somewhat safer for crawling under it and pounding.2018 Flat Tire. Tried loosening lugs but lug wrench would not fit them?!? Had it been swapped at dealership? So made calls around neighborhood (over a few miles, I live in the country) and found one with a star wrench. Went and got it. Jacked up truck and wheel would not come off again. Tried pounding on it but had not invested in 5lb hammer yet. Presumed kicking it would not work. Did not bother with Fords POS Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance. Called the roadside assistance I got separately through my car insurance. They sent a tow truck. To change the tire. That guy was big and he gave the wheel a hard kick and it came loose. I am an AARP member and suspect I would have broken my foot. At any rate, got wheel swapped out. Next day I spent entire first day of my vacation on the Ford. It was a 70 mile round trip to take it to dealership to get patched. They could not he bothered and so it would take several hours for them to do it. I made a day of it and did some exploring to another town and left some lovely painted memorial rocks at a spot that was special to my departed ex. Rather than preparing for trip. Then I went to house, got the star and returned it to neighbor. Then rested a couple hours and went back to town to get patched spare. I took the truck. Here is where it gets extra interesting.I had them rotate all the tires so if I need to change a flat they will be temporarily broken loose. IF YOU HAVE A FORD TRUCK, do this before any expedition. Regarding the lug wrench, that turns out to be another issue with Ford materials and engineering (like with the dissimilar metals and no coating/treatment to prevent corrosion welds). The lug nuts *swell*. Thats right. Ford makes their lug nuts out of some high-tech passive-aggressive living metal that can sense a vacation and swell by a couple millimeters, rendering it impossible to remove them with the factory lug wrench!?! Who knew??? I did not. No, you cannot hammer wrench onto lug. I tried that. These things *really swell*. You have to get a 22mm wrench to fit on the 21mm lugs. You have to go buy a new wrench. IF YOU ARE A FORD TRUCK OWNER buy a new lug wrench after a year or so, or it may simply be impossible to change a tire on your expedition and you could die in the wilderness from a flat tire. So both the corrosion weld and the swollen nuts issues are known by Ford. In googling, there have even been lawsuits! Yet, here we still are.To wrap up this review, will say that back in the day, IBM had a list of priorities go meet when rolling out a new product whether it was a storage medium or a mainframe. Number 1 priority? Do the customer no harm. Customer safety was #1 priority. They did not want you to even cut your finger on a sharp edge. But Ford seems to think it is no big deal if you--surprise!--cant change your tire ‘cause their magical nuts swelled. Well they have not traveled with me.Back in the day I drove all through Mexico and Central America. I was careful in choosing my rigs for the expedition: Nissan pickup (with *3* spare tires--I went through *all* of them), BMW motorcycle. They both served me well, had zero problems other than tires. One flat was in the dangerous Peten region of Guatemala. The military had been hunting down and killing armed highwaymen in the area right when I was passing through. I got a flat!!! On the Nissan, it took 5 minutes to swap that ** out and be on my way. Thank you God I did not take a Ford Truck. IF YOU ARE A FORD TRUCK OWNER do not take it on any expedition where your life could be at risk from a breakdown. My experience is that they (based, admittedly, on only one ownership experience) simply are not reliable and trustworthy enough for that use. Use them as you would a Mini Cooper, for fun jaunts around town--except you can haul/tow stuff with the Ford! Not for an expedition, where lives are on the line and there is no safety net. Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, *Honduras*--even parts of Mexico? The magic lug nuts surprise would have almost surely cost me my life. Still might.Look, Im older now. Have had spinal surgeries and such. Really do not need to be under a truck raised up on a jack, pounding on wheel w/ 5lb hammer. Just might end up pinned under truck. So... if that happens and I am found dead in middle of nowhere under my hateful passive-aggressive Ford? Please someone sue the crap out of Ford for me, in my memory.

2014 Ford transit van - This car isnt even 2 years old and I noticed hundreds of small holes in the paint. Took it into the local Ford dealership to see if the warranty covers it and, WELL OF COURSE!! No, it isnt covered because it is supposedly due to rock damage from the roads, that none of our other (more used) cars have. In addition, the dealership will not put this into writing so that I can complain to the road people. Now, I read all over the internet where Ford simply has cheap and terrible paint for their vehicles. Will be the last one I buy.

May of 2012 we purchased a brand new Ford f150. Less than 2 years later (before 50000 miles) we noticed the check engine light and airbag light came on. Took it in and got charged to do diagnostic test $75 with a warranty. Ford told us someone has to get paid for the work. Results were a fuel sensor. Our gauges are off. We can have a full tank of gas and it says empty and even alarms us. We can be driving and put the truck in neutral, turn it off and on and it will then give a reading. The check engine light is not always on and same with the airbag. Never got a reason for the airbag. The Ford mechanic claims there are no problems. We even had an experience once while driving we noticed smoke coming from under the drivers seat and smelled a hot smell. We pulled over to check it out and it stopped and we found nothing wrong or signs of burning. We feel ripped off and with the mechanics claiming nothing is wrong (when we know there is). We feel cheated and endangered.

First Ford Truck and within 5k miles, check engine light comes on. It goes on and off, cant be reproduced and now at 20k miles, it has been in the shop for 3+ weeks 2 different times waiting to be fixed. The first time, dealer could not reproduce the problem after 3 weeks and within 2 days of me getting it back, the light came back on. Now, it has been at a different dealer for 2 + weeks and while they diagnosed it, they have too many vehicles in front of mine to look at it sooner than another 1.5 weeks. No loaners available. Have to leave it at the dealer or I lose my place in line. Terrible customer service. Big let down - will be looking to trade this FORD Junk in for a different brand once they ever get it fixed.UPDATE ON 09/26/2018: Overall, when I purchase a new vehicle for 36+k, I do not expect it to have engine problems. After leaving the truck at the Ford Dealer for 4+ weeks, it was finally completed. I spent a fair amount of time explaining to their Service Manager all of the hassles I have had with this brand new truck. The dealers Ford Rep agreed to offer a Premium Extended Warranty to restore some good will. Having Ford offer a Premium Extended Warranty for the “hassle” is not really going above and beyond to help customers. It is expected at the very least. After calling into Ford Customer Service and getting someone that basically reads from a ‘script’ and does not really care about the customer, my confidence in Ford’s customer service is completely gone. In addition, there is hardly any management of dealers and how they provide customer service on new Ford vehicles. Not impressed. In fact, while this was going on with my Ford Truck, my Chevy Traverse Check Engine light came on. I took it to the Chevy Dealer we normally go to and the customer service was stellar, it was night and day difference between the Ford Dealer. I get each Dealer needs to determine how they go to market and serve their customers, but, Ford does not seem to care as long as people buy their vehicle.

Before I retired we purchased a new 2014 Ford Edge. At 32,000 miles and 3 years old we had paint bubbling on the passenger side rear door where the door skin is crimped around the door shell. I took it to our local Ford dealership and it was scheduled in the body shop for a repair. Once completed it looked great. However, being a mechanic and building and painting street rods, I feared the corrosion would return. I voiced my concerns and was told the repair was guaranteed. At 39,000 miles and less than a year I returned to the dealership with more corrosion than ever. The dealership took photos and submitted them to Ford who denied any warranty. I contacted Ford and was told it had to have rust holes to be covered. Im so picky with my vehicles. I was furious. This was the first new Ford product I have purchased only because my wife wanted it. I am a 60 year old long time GM man. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NEW FORD PRODUCT!!!

Due to past help with constructing the PeaceNet a small International Netwo
Due to past help with constructing the PeaceNet a small International Network; that ultimately turned into the Internet, I can do things most people cannot. The e-mail explains the problems I am having with a Ford Escape. It is a new car with less than a thousand miles on it that is viewed as a deathtrap. Even more problems have come up by research that make the situation even worse. Every time the word Ford comes down the Internet, I am sent the e-mail address. Other words in the e-mail such as purchase can be used to define the list. I have amassed the e-mails of thousands of people that are considering purchasing something from Ford. The Ford resolution department has tried to solve the problem by giving me the X-Plan pricing. The problem is that I would purchase a Ford Edge which is a much safer car and I can get my wife and family to ride in. I have not been able to make a deal on an Edge even though I have the reduced pricing on the Edge because I cannot get the zero percent 72 month financing like I have on the Escape. I am 75 years old, my wife and I live on Social Security and have a house that has expenses plus living expenses that happen even though the house is paid for. I have a credit rating of 815. I live as economically as possible; no extra anything and never go to restaurants or any kind of entertainment. However, a large car payment does not fit into the budget. 72 month or 84 month would be ideal. I have had the Escape repaired at the finest body shop around and carries a lifetime guarantee on the work. Everybody at Ford Resolution is telling me I have to go to Ford Finance for the longer terms. I am going to lose money on the trade in even though it has only three digit miles on it. I have tried to get Ford to take the car back and they will not. Their resolution is that they give me a low price on the purchase, but the dealers will not give me the same finance arrangement. So I am appealing to Ford Finance. There are dealers in the far North area of Chicago that have longer Zero percent financing. I dont know if they use Ford Financing or not. Purchasing a car at a dealer 80 miles away makes no sense. If I cannot make a deal at a price and financing, then I must do my e-mail campaign. I am ready to send thousands of e-mails everyday to people around the world telling them the five points that I have found, as an Engineer by trade, that makes this car dangerous and risky to drive. I go into great detail about this. I have nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I would not let one of them ride in the rear area of this Ford Escape. The way that glass rear window just exploded after the accident is real scary. Glass came up into the front area like it was a bullet. It is my duty as a responsible citizen to do this.

WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE A FORD!!! They do not back their product even when they have a known issue. Most $$$ car I have ever bought, 30K, only 2013, 50,000 miles now and sunroof wont even close. Car in service center before for running slow and same issue. Now needs a complete frame replacement?!?!?? Of course not in warranty or even the extended warranty I PURCHASED. Want me to pay $2600 to replace frame. I have not bent the frame or had a wreck! Garage kept car. Its obviously defective Ford part. I guess I will use an umbrella to keep the weather from my 3-week old. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD OR AMERICAN MADE POS! Had 1 Toyota, 2 Nissans and 2 Hyundais and had NO problems. Paid much less, much older and got 200,000 plus miles on them. Only get the run around when you call customer care. Service manager gives you the number but customer care says manager has final say. Manager goes out of town before discussing decision with you. When you make original call, everything is always we cant look at it for at least one week, til you ask to talk to manager then it changes like magic. Sure I will drive around with sunroof open for a week until you can even look at it.

My F150 has 62000 miles. My service light came on and said transmission malfunction. Took to dealer very same day. After almost a month to repair because Ford dealer/Ford regional manager could not find the parts to repair the transmission, could not find the parts in the Ford system throughout the US. Picked up truck on a Saturday at a cost of $1200 and returned on Sunday. The transmission kept shifting between gears and when I stopped at a traffic light and then accelerated, it would race and then engage with a jolt. It has so far been TWO months and I still do not have my truck. I will never buy another truck from Ford again. All they have done is run you around in circles until you get exhausted and quit. The only good thing is they gave me a loaner two weeks after they took my truck so I dont have to rent a car anymore.

Have had 4 door latches break on my 2013 Fiesta. 2 of them broke while the car was moving. Service guys at Southwest Ford were wonderful. But when they turned me over to customer service lead Amelia **, I tried to call her for 2 weeks to find out what they were going to do. Never did hear back from her. Finally one of the other flunkies called me back and was so rude and short that I could not even talk to her. Now just found out my case is closed without ever hearing from anyone. I volunteered to take any of their families for a drive in my piece of crap car, but no one accepted the offer. Wonder why. Cannot wait to pay this pathetic vehicle down enough to trade it in. Ford is the most disappointing company I have ever had to deal with and will never make that mistake again. Not that I really expect anyone from Ford to read this. Case **. Pathetic cars and customer service.

As if this 2020 hasn’t been awful enough, Lincoln/Ford has now been doing their part to bury what little is left of the year. I’ve been trying for nearly 4 months to get into another Lincoln, which would be my 4th consecutive Lincoln/Ford, but I’ve had nothing nightmare-after-nightmare unfold. I’ve actively reached out to the dealer and the individual that I have purchased my current lease through and either haven’t gotten responses or have been getting sky-high pricing. I’ve reached out to at least 20 dealers across the states of NY/NJ/PA and I’ve been met with ridiculous/oppressive pricing and dealers not willing to even discuss pricing. I have the GM of Causeway Lincoln, Dave ** telling me he won’t even talk to me (and this is the first time I’ve reached out to them, so not like there is a bad history). Imagine this lunacy when trying to give people business? Now Lincoln is telling me that if I don’t get another vehicle, which I’ve been trying to do for months, that I will be penalized many hundreds of dollars. This is how they treat the loyalty that I’ve given, the money that I’ve spent, and the referrals that I’ve brought them. They’ve told me to buy more or get penalized. This has not only soured my time with the dealers, but with the brand as a whole. Clearly they have gone into the business of confiscation, not customer service.

Despite everybody telling me not to buy a Ford, the 2016 Ford Explorer Sport fit my familys needs and we like the looks and performance of the vehicle so I bought one for my wife. On the way home from a day out celebrating Mothers Day with my family, the transmission went out on the freeway and we barely made it home. With only 4,000 miles on the vehicle, the transmission had to be replaced. In addition, the vehicle made a loud squeaking noise from the fans when you turn the car off, and the leather on the drivers seat is already starting to deform. The dealer fixed the transmission, but said there was nothing they could do about the seats or the fan squeak. They stated this was normal. I have owned a lot of cars in my life, and in no way is this normal.I then took the Explorer in for a routine oil change service, and the vehicle only had 5/32 left of tread on the tires. This seemed like very excessive wear for a brand new vehicle. A month or so later I took the vehicle back in to the dealer to have the tires looked at and they were down to 4/32. The dealer said that it was up to the tire manufacturer, and Hankook was only willing to prorate 25%. There is no way I should have to replace tires on a vehicle that is 1 year old with only 12K miles on it. Come to find out, Fords New Vehicle Warranty is also supposed to warranty the tires and should cover 60% of the cost. I called Ford Customer Relations and what a disaster they are. I went back and forth for with them for a month. They never called me back as they promised, and some of the reps were extremely rude.I finally get a supervisor who says that he worked it out with the dealership and that I will only need to pay $407.57 for new tires, and that Ford will take care of the rest. Not quite 60% but at this point, I just want to be done with this. I call the dealer and talk to the person I was told to ask for, and they know nothing about this. I have always tried to stay loyal to the domestic automakers, but I can see why people dont buy American cars. I understand stuff can happen to anything vehicle, but the service Ford has provided has been terrible. If they were great in handling these issues, I would be happy that at least the service was good and that they were taking care of their customer and standing behind their product. Clearly that is not the case and the stereotype about Ford poor quality and service is unfortunately true.

I ordered a Lincoln Aviator Black Label in April. In August I was given the VIN number and was told that this car would arrive in two weeks. As of this date (12/17/2019), the car has NEVER shown up. Because of this, I was forced to buy another car that was not the same as I ordered or wait until???? Now I find out that ALL the things that I thought were part of the Black label package are ONLY available at certain select dealers. And none of these are near my house. I cannot even get a free car wash. Also, yesterday my wife had a flat tire and when she called Lincoln she was told that there was nobody close enough to help her. So naturally she called me to fix the problem but only after damaging the tire trying to get off the road.My question is how does anyone lose a car like the one I ordered after it is built?? And when you pay $7,500 extra for Black Label you should get something other than someone telling you that they cannot help you. Lincoln has a long way to go, to get their standards up to the foreign dealers. I called Lincoln today, and was advised that they will file my complaint. I am sure I know where!!!! The car is sitting in the garage after I removed the tire myself and ordered a new one. It will be a week to get this new tire, without the use of any car. All this just days before Christmas. Someone should tell me why a 74 year old who just had abdominal surgery 4 weeks ago had to remove the tire and why I paid some much extra for a Black Label that means nothing??? I am writing this after talking to Lincoln and realizing that once they have you money, they could care less.Robert **

I bought a Ford Fiesta in October 2012. It was a 2013 model. At 7000 miles, my problems started. First, my transmission started to stick; my car was out of service for 9-10 days. A day or two later, it overheated, so I had to get it towed. After complaining to AutoNation, they were not forthcoming with a customer service number for me to call and complain. Finally, after emailing and calling around, I got the number to the corporate office customer service. They went to the dealership to make sure everything was being handled. I received a maintenance plan for my trouble. A few hundred miles later, my car overheated again. By this time, I moved to Orlando. I took my car into Greenway Ford. They had to order an oil cooler; it took Fri- Mon. So far, I have had this car in service for 15-16 days. So, I filed a complaint with BBB Auto Line. Consumer Affairs called and I told them what has been going on with this car and its not safe. I picked up my car from Greenway and attempted to drive to Miami. Halfway there, the warning light came on: ENGINE MALFUNCTION, SERVICE NOW! I was horrified. I pulled over and attempted to call Ford Consumer Affairs, with no luck. It went to voice mail and I left a message. I called Customer Service and they said they could not help me because my complaint is in Consumer Affairs. So, at this point, I have to take the car in to Metro Ford in the morning. God only knows whats wrong with that car.

My 2019 F150 4X4 Supercrew has 1200 miles on it and was purchased July 1, 2018. The drivers side door makes a loud cracking noise when opened or closed. It started out of nowhere approx 2 days ago. I’ve only driven it about 15 times. I took it to the dealer, Pompano Ford, and 2 service techs and a body shop tech looked at. The 2 service techs said it might need to be lubricated, but the body shop tech said the black hinge was faulty and needed to be replaced. It’s difficult to tell if the noise is coming from the part of the hinge that’s connected to the door, or the part that is connected to the body. He said the door has to be taken off to replace it. I asked him if the door would be put back on the way it was new, he stated he couldn’t guarantee it would be exact, but may be slightly off after the repair. They did not have the part, but would contact me when the part arrived.

I went to the Ford Credit website on January 9th to make January payment due January 7. After making payment, I checked the box to extract payments automatically on the due date heretofore, thinking that this would start in February. Apparently by checking that box, my payment was not applied to January. There is no smart feature on that site that applies the funds to the last payment due and no payment was made until February 7, skipping January. I did not notice this and on March 2, I received a robo-call stating that my account was seriously delinquent and to call Ford Credit ASAP. This came as a total surprise to me.I spoke to a very helpful rep named Windy, who read the situation clearly, but also told me that my account was reported delinquent to the credit bureaus. She understood what happened and it was obvious that I didnt check in on January 9 for any reason other than to make payment. She referred it to a supervisor. Over the next week, I spoke to 3 more reps and 2 supervisors. They told me that I should give it 30 days. Today Im at 30 days and dealt with two people this morning who were completely unsympathetic to my issue and kept reading me the rules. My contention that the system should be programmed to apply payment to the last payment due was met with deaf ears and was told that even after submitting written complaints electronically, that they must be written in pen and ink to be considered for reversal.I have invested at least 8 hours with this company to resolve an issue that was triggered by software that is programmed by them. Hence an internal Ford issue. This can easily be resolved by a company that actually values its customers. I had a similar technical issue with BMW a few years back and it was resolved efficiently and with great courtesy. Within 3 days I received a letter of reversal from them and all three credit bureaus were notified. Ford apparently has a banking arm that is way behind virtually every other I have dealt with regard to treating its customers fairly. I will continue this pursuit to clear my credit. I will never buy another Ford product again.

Defective Sunroof issue in 2015-2017 models - Warranty expired & about 2 month after that I left my vehicle out & it rained heavily. I found water dripping near the framework on the passenger side, between the windshield & door. The floor mat was full of water. I dumped it out - tried to dry out the carpet. It was so saturated I couldnt get it all out. Then when driving it I actually heard swooshing sounds when I came to stops. Meanwhile I thought it was some fluke or the bad rainstorm. Then when we washed @ the Morries Ford car wash, we noticed it again. So we looked online & sure enough there were many others who reported the same or similar issues. Meanwhile mold had developed & Morries said I did have the defective part/sunroof. Filed a claim & the best Ford will do is only cover Half the cost to replace their defective sunroof. I am going to file a complaint with our Atty. General. I paid once for this feature when I bought it brand new. I should not have to pay for it again due to it being a defective sunroof. Morries tried cover up this issue also when I first reported it to them. Lying to me saying someone vandalized my vehicle by removing all the weather stripping on the roof. Theres not any on the roof on any of the Ford trucks where this service advisor tried to point out. Very disgusted.
