Purchased a new Ford F-150 on 6/27/2015 from HemBorg Ford in Norco, Ca. External fan came on a few times as soon as the truck was started while we moved the truck in and out of our shop and would not shut off unless we turn engine off and restarted truck. On September 1 after picking the truck up from getting the decals the battery light came on. The following day I made a phone call up to our local mechanic to see if he could check out why the battery light was on since they are a half mile from where I lived. Pulled the truck out of the shop and let it run for about 30 minutes while I cleaned it to see if maybe the light was on because the truck had been sitting in the shop. I then got in the truck and drove off. It is about 12 miles from our shop to the local mechanic shop but after getting on the freeway the Sync system notified me. I was going to lose power to some electric powered features or something of that sort. It didnt repeat it. It only said it once so I cant remember exactly. I turned off the radio and air thinking maybe its a low battery issue. A few minutes later all the indicator lights came on and the truck lost power. I looked in my mirror to get over and to my horror I saw smoke pouring out from under the truck out the back. As soon as I pulled over the smoke was coming out from under the hood as well as flames were starting to come out too. I popped the hood and jumped out looking for my fire extinguisher and in panic could locate it. I ran to the front of the truck and tried to unlatch the hood, but the smoke and flames were pouring out. A guy ran up and started with his fire extinguisher, but we couldnt get the flames down enough to get the hood opened. By the time the fire department got there, the front tires caught fire and blew into the field which started a 5-acre fire which did slightly damage some decks on a few homes. The fire dept didnt put any water on the truck because they were trying to save these peoples homes and I watched in horror. The truck and all our equipment burn to the ground. Some people say why didnt we bring it in when the external fan came on but honestly most people would have even noticed it. I know because we own 9 Fords between our business and personal but since the truck was only at our shop and not in service yet it would be brought in before it was ready to go into service the Ford dealer.I would have brought it to was father then my local mechanic so it wouldnt have made it either way. I am beside myself with this. Did the fan keep coming on because the computer was telling the truck something was hot? Why did the battery light come on (I did take a picture of the dash when I was pulling into the shop after we picked it up from getting decals and it shows the light on. Please help.

The latest is the sensor on the steering rack failure which Ford now has to replace the whole steering rack for the second time. Once the sensor fails it disables all the driver assist features. The hood was on fire, so we moved the A6 out of the way and called 911. The truck had been parked since 4:00 PM the previous afternoon, with no flammable items inside and no noticeable irregularities with the operation of the truck. We have no idea why the fire started, but the truck and the contents are a total loss.

Three and a half weeks ago, I traded in my other F150 truck that was a 2006 with a 5.4 (not too good on fuel). Now, having a more economic vehicle, I havent driven the 97 in at least three weeks. On Thursday evening, I started the truck, let it run for 20 minutes (just to ensure the battery stayed charged), shut it off, had dinner and then went to bed about 9:30 and the truck was good then. I had to be into work early on Friday morning. We have had a lot of rain in recent weeks and I thought I may have to work outside. I grabbed my rain jacket from the back seat of my 97 truck at 3 am. On my way to work, the truck seemed good at that time (no burning smells). At 5:30 am, my wife called me at work to tell me that my truck was on fire in the driveway and caught the garage and house on fire. Luckily too, our wonderful neighbor that happened to wake up and look out their window had seen the blazing fire and woke up my family and got them out of the home. The neighbor also called 911 at that time. The local fire dept. also needs recognition to quick response. Had they been 20 minutes later, I think I would have lost my home and all of my garage. The truck is a total loss with melted radiator, hood, plenum, and all aluminum parts. The truck had a lift, tonneau cover and $1800 in tire and wheels are all gone. All the glass and interior is completely gone as well. Of course, the truck is paid for. It only had liability insurance and home insurance doesnt cover the vehicle. Im not sure how to proceed. After reading all the other posting, it is evident that there is an issue and Ford is very aware and is turning a blind eye to the problem. I am having a fire investigator look at the fire. I guess we will see what their thoughts are about fire and Fords ongoing issue.

Here is what transpired. I called and they confirmed a tow in about an hour. After an hour they called back to inform me that they cannot tow me to a dealership that is closed. On December 25th there are no dealerships open in the country!!! I asked if they could tow me home as courtesy especially since it was Christmas Day. They said, No it is out of policy. FYI the Owners Manual states that roadside assistance is available 24/7. PERIOD! No other rules or exceptions.Bottom line they towed me 3 1/2 hours later to a tow lot in literally the worst part of the city from where I had to make home. Forget the fact that I spent 4 hours of Christmas stranded because of Fords unstated policies, missed most of Christmas with my family and my newborn first grandchild. All Ford showed is that their custom care is a fiction (and possibly a violation of several consumer laws as they do not disclose this to their consumers). Bottom line if you need roadside assistance good luck if you need a tow outside of Dealer Hours. They simply dont care about their customers.

After making payment, I checked the box to extract payments automatically on the due date heretofore, thinking that this would start in February. Apparently by checking that box, my payment was not applied to January. There is no smart feature on that site that applies the funds to the last payment due and no payment was made until February 7, skipping January. I did not notice this and on March 2, I received a robo-call stating that my account was seriously delinquent and to call Ford Credit ASAP. This came as a total surprise to me.I spoke to a very helpful rep named Windy, who read the situation clearly, but also told me that my account was reported delinquent to the credit bureaus. She understood what happened and it was obvious that I didnt check in on January 9 for any reason other than to make payment. She referred it to a supervisor. Over the next week, I spoke to 3 more reps and 2 supervisors. They told me that I should give it 30 days. Today Im at 30 days and dealt with two people this morning who were completely unsympathetic to my issue and kept reading me the rules. My contention that the system should be programmed to apply payment to the last payment due was met with deaf ears and was told that even after submitting written complaints electronically, that they must be written in pen and ink to be considered for reversal.I have invested at least 8 hours with this company to resolve an issue that was triggered by software that is programmed by them. Hence an internal Ford issue. This can easily be resolved by a company that actually values its customers. I had a similar technical issue with BMW a few years back and it was resolved efficiently and with great courtesy. Within 3 days I received a letter of reversal from them and all three credit bureaus were notified. Ford apparently has a banking arm that is way behind virtually every other I have dealt with regard to treating its customers fairly. I will continue this pursuit to clear my credit. I will never buy another Ford product again.

I soon regretted the decision after discovering other Focus owners had significant transmission issues and that the transmission was designed so the fluid could never be changed which suggested planned obsolescence to me. The transmission often shifted strangely despite periodic computer adjustments and tended to ride somewhat roughly in slow city driving.While I had concerns about its useful lifespan, my Focus did a low average job of getting me from point A to point B until recently. As someone who believes in getting value from their purchases, I had hoped to drive the car for 10 to 15 years from the time of purchase. This should not be an unreasonable expectation for someone who makes certain that their cars have good maintenance and put only limited mileage on a vehicle as I no longer have a daily commute. In April of this year, the car developed an excessive shudder. The vehicle was in the shop for several days and the clutch had to be replaced.One week ago, the vehicle would not start and seemed to be just a bad battery but the diagnostics showed a transmission control module problem. The part is on back order so as a previous post suggests it could be in the shop indefinitely. The mileage is still in the low 60s and the vehicle has been well maintained. The problem is the lack of quality in a failed transmission system rendering a vehicle useless before even reaching the 10 year milestone. I most definitely will never purchase another Ford product again.

We can have a full tank of gas and it says empty and even alarms us. We can be driving and put the truck in neutral, turn it off and on and it will then give a reading. The check engine light is not always on and same with the airbag. Never got a reason for the airbag. The Ford mechanic claims there are no problems.We even had an experience once while driving we noticed smoke coming from under the drivers seat and smelled a hot smell. We pulled over to check it out and it stopped and we found nothing wrong or signs of burning. We feel ripped off and with the mechanics claiming nothing is wrong (when we know there is). We feel cheated and endangered.

Just to have that very present take his life. He was 22 years old, with a 3-year old child, and the truck took his life. Not Iraq or terrorism, but here at home by one of the most trusted American names we have. It is believed and documented by the Criminal Investigative Division over Fort Hood that his death is indeterminable, but stemmed from a fire in the front engine compartment. Aaron parted ways in the early evening hours of September 10, 2008 from a 30-day field training mission to head home for relaxation. He walked in the door, cracked a 16oz Natural Ice and headed straight for the toilet. No less than 5 minutes he was talking to me, reiterating the day before him and letting his stresses unfold like duty does at this hour. I failed to remember that this would be our last conversation and completely failed to put all my trust in him. Instead of telling him I loved him, I told him we would be divorcing. That the stresses he held onto were quickly becoming mine and with that, he threw his ring, jumped up from the toilet and headed to bed. Neither of us knew that the fire would seriously sever that conversation. When I woke the following morning, I decided to not call him. He had been in training for the previous 45 days and I thought with the heavy sentence I laid on him, he might need a day to go fishing. I was to attend his only sisters wedding, since he could not. His redeployment date was nearing and he was to stay within 150 miles of Ft. Hood. The 11th went on like no one was watching. No one in the **s home was worried about anything, but football scores. I too was not. I did not know Aaron had taken his last breath, in our own home, with all that military training. No, I was the last one who believed Aaron was not breathing. I made a few mistakes in my lifetime, but this certainly was the largest. Army life, army strife, together forever, it is our life. 4 years have passed. Nothing has been the way it was the day before Sept. 11, 2008. It is more like a divorce that I had wanted at 24 years old. Who knows what divorce really is at that age? But now I battle my in-laws over our only daughter. I have rarely seen reality bite until I envision why Ford caused that fire in Aarons truck. I lost the battle in them. I lost my daughter to my in-laws and I lost Aaron. My heart grieves for Taylor, our daughter. She suffers without her father and her mother. I only wish I had words to describe the catastrophe Ford caused my family. But one day it will matter and all will see. My ambitions to become an attorney purposefully to convict Ford and all that they are capable of as an American motor company will guide me for the rest of my life. I ask God for mercy upon Ford - its creators and its will.

They told me I had to replace the battery. Diagnosis was a bad cell. I bought this car as a certified pre-owned and they replaced the battery before I bought the vehicle, they put the lowest-priced battery in the car. The date stamp on the battery was 4/2017, and another sticker that said 3/36 meaning 3 years or 36,000 miles. I assumed that 3/36 was on the battery but apparently that is for the car warranty. Per Ford Customer Relations and the dealership, the date stamp means nothing and the battery would not be covered. Just keep this in mind if you experience this same problem. They offered me two different batteries, both were way overpriced compared to an auto parts store. You are better off saving a trip to the dealer and paying a deductible ($100.00 for me) and just go to your local auto parts store, get a battery that they will warranty!

It had good suspension and steering or a safety hazard and had many parts to replace. When I spoke with the service manager he told me there were safety issues. The ball joints were going out all the way around. There are no ball joints in the rear. I believe there is no honesty or integrity and the way they run their service department. Most people dont bring an older vehicle to the dealership. But mine is a 2000 and this is 2016. I feel as though you get what you pay for. But not in this case. Looking at the long list of repairs and how important they are their estimate should have been even more than what they told me giving me the impression that the job was probably going to be charged for and not done. Now there is $3,000 that I have for repairs. Overlooking the fact that the truck was brought in just for a starter I tried to negotiate take care of the safety issues which I dont know if Ill be charged and ripped off for. Because the suspension and steering I had been serviced correctly through the years. And to put a starter in add not replace the motor. Lets see if this is going to cost the full $3,000. I bet Im going to be ripped off any way I look at it. Because its my only vehicle and the truck is at the shop and immovable. I fear theyre able to damage my engine and I cant do a thing to fix the situation. Ford service sucks.

Send it to Heller now that it is out of warranty. Gee, gas tank sender unit is out (remember couldnt find anything wrong) 1000.00, fan motor bad 700.00, then in three days they cant find what is wrong with brakes - still waiting. Called Ford, they only go on word of dealers. I asked for a Ford field engineer (Ford first call said to ask for one). Ford field rep blew me off. So I have a 43k piece of crap that is unsafe and Ford blows me off. Any attorneys out there doing class action?

I would like for Ford to own up to their mistake while creating this vehicle and cover the expense. If you really think about it, Ive seen over 4k complaints in regards to this same issue, each one of us had to $1,800 to repair a part that was 99.9% not our fault. I need for James Hackett to consider recalling the 2010 Ford Fusion Power Steering for the safety of our children and families. This was not my first experience with this condition, so I knew immediately what was wrong. Incompatibility between the paint and primer used at the factory. At the start of flaking, I scraped away the loose paint on the edges of the patch, primered it with a spray can hoping to seal the edges and not allow the wind to lift more of the paint. Then I repainted the spots with a spray can of white paint. Sorry to report that this patch only lasted a matter of weeks before the wind got under the original paint once again and flaking continued. I have a bunch of pictures showing this condition covering most of the roof and trunk lid as well spots on the rest of the car. I had thought of putting a sign on the car stating that this was an original Ford paint job that was flaking away, but I havent done that yet. I had to at least prime the roof spots because rust was starting to show. I called Ford service only to find out the people who answered were not Ford employees, but a company hired as gatekeepers to fend off pesky complaints that they probably dumped in the trash at the end of each shift. Apparently Ford is not interested in owning up to their mistake with the paint job as they have ignored my request for a fix. As I said above, this is not my first experience with this issue.I purchased a 1986 Ford F-150 that exhibited the exact same problem with the paint, and after much correspondence with Ford (at that time you could talk directly to a Ford rep.), they recalled the truck, stripped the paint completely and repainted the whole truck. I am very pleased with this car in every other way and would be forever grateful if someone out there could reach into Ford and bring this to their attention, and hopefully, a satisfactory resolution. I refuse to pay Ford to fix my problem, and now just plan to get rid of this vehicle and never buy a Ford again.

The car was idling very roughly, but when I pressed on the accelerator pedal nothing happened. There was no shoulder on the road so I had to stop in the middle of the road! I am SO lucky that no one rear-ended me before I was able to maneuver off the road. I turned off the car and waited a minute or two and turned the car back on. The accelerator was working so I headed home. The car went limp two more times before I arrived home a couple of miles down the road. The next day my husband followed me to the dealership with his emergency flashers on. My Edge went limp twice on the way to the dealership. The mechanic was familiar with the problem and diagnosed a bad Throttle Body. It was replaced for about $650.00 and the car runs fine now. This problem is common and needs to be addressed before someone is killed! I thank my lucky stars that this didnt happen on a busy interstate.

Its a nice car: good performance and practical, but if the manufacturer doesnt back what they sell better to buy from a more reliable brand like Honda, Toyota, Mazda, or Subaru who have all served me well in the past. First, note that one of the first things I was told by the salesman at my local Lincoln dealership was that Lincoln had been under fire for giving out incorrect mileage statistics, but now all was in order and the mileage estimates were accurate, if not understated. This was reassuring since I had been misled in the past and found actual mileage rates to be only about 75% of the mileage rates claimed. This new hybrid MKZ promised I would get 41 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on the highway. I questioned the salesman who told me that those numbers were accurate.After agreeing to a purchase price I was moved along to the finance guy to handle my lease processing. I asked him the same question and received an almost identical response. He added that many of his customers actually do better than the stated mileage. I was happy. After picking up the car and driving it about 1000 miles I saw that the MPG calculator on the dash for individual and cumulative mileage both were telling me that I was averaging about 36 MPG. I went back to the dealership questioning why the mileage was so low. I was told by the service representative that it was far too early to get an accurate reading of mileage. I needed to wait until the car reached about 3000 miles. When I reached 3000 miles, I still was averaging (according to the mileage reader) about 36 MPG.I spoke to another service representative that told me that the car needed to have 5000 miles on it before I would get an accurate reading on the dashboard calculator. When I went in for my 5000 mileage service call, my dashboard calculator still showed I was getting individual mileage rates per trip, per tank, and cumulatively of about 36 MPG. Now a new service representative told me that I should never rely on the dashboard calculator because it is so inaccurate. Instead, I should check my mileage the old fashioned way... and then I would see I was getting 39 to 41MPG as promised.The old fashioned way is to fill the tank to the very brim with each fill up and divide the mileage driven by the gallons replaced with each tankful of gas I used. I did this... filling the tank to the very brim each time, to the point where it would spill out if I added any more. And guess what? He was right. The dashboard MPG calculator was incorrect. However, not the way he thought. I have now done this test approximately 20 times. My actual mileage ranged between 31 MPG and 35 MPG... FAR, FAR LESS than the mileage I was promised. This deception is unacceptable. I do not have a heavy foot on the gas, know when to brake, and know when the cars idle will get me to my destination without stomping on the gas, only to screech to a halt 50 feet later. I also have studied how to efficiently drive a hybrid. The mileage on this car is horrendous and Lincoln/Ford needs to be held accountable for their misstatements.

The first three were negative in result. The fourth test found the problem. The float at the bottom of the gas passageway (?) before the main part of the gas tank is reached, was STUCK OPEN. So, of course, it did not signal that it was full! When I was told this and informed that a new gas tank was to be installed, I just could not believe that this had not been a checking option before!! I had a very hard time containing myself. The fact that I refused to be blown off by their comments on several discussions was the only thing that got it fixed. My respect for this particular Ford Dealership took an amazing downslide!!

This is the second Ford Edge that we have owned and we really like the vehicle. It gets fairly good gas mileage for its size and is very comfortable and nice looking. We had both vehicles well past the warranty and found it to be very stable. No major repairs and only typical maintenance. We love the GPS and the two moon roofs. The area in the back will hold large items and is easy to push a button and lower the back seats to make even more room. The body style is very sharp and I love the heated seats. But the first Edge had a problem with the rear view window and I felt like I couldnt see as well as I should be able to. But the next one we bought had a little condensed mirror attached to the rear view mirror that enables me to see a wider area. We are very pleased.

The car is shaking and shuddering again. I also noticed that when I stop at lights or in my not so steep driveway the car rolls back significantly. Extending the warranty does not make the car safe. Now I have a recall notice that says the doors can break open while I am driving and the part to fix it is not available but I will be notified when it is. This car needs to be taken off the road!

Ford just puts that information on the sales sticker. I attempted to explain I did not want to hear excuses. I need some assistance with the gas mileage issue. He stated I was not listening to him. I attempted numerous times to ask him what he wanted me to do. At this time, he stated I was not listening to him. I became angry and attempted to obtain his instructions. He declined to provide any information to me. I attempted one last time. He stated he would not provide information, stating he would refer me to his manager within 48 hrs. The 48 hrs. have passed and no call back. During the conversation, I mentioned in my opinion the car is too heavy for the 1.6 Ecoboost engines torque rating. He agreed the engine is working too hard to be efficient in this size of car. He also agreed the on-board computer is not the most accurate. But dealers equipment is accurate. I explained I understood the mileage will be less than the rated in real life. The car has never reached even 30 mpg on the freeway, 9-hour drive travel. The rated city mileage is 22 mpg. The cars actual mileage is 20 mpg combination freeway and city. He only stated the estimated mpg is provided by the government, not by Ford.

Then my cars front tires were wearing unevenly, so I brought it to the tire shop to have it balanced and rotated. I asked the technician what he noticed and said the tires were wearing a little weird. I already knew I had a problem from there. I brought it to a reputable local front end shop and they found broken springs in the front! I called Ford to complain and they said that there was an extended customer courtesy on the front springs 10 years or 140K, but I did not qualify any longer - 80K on the car but a year too late. I said, “NHSTA says it’s a safety hazard, so I dont understand why you would not be interested in taking care of your customers and their families?” The rep. repeated the same speech and said the engineers often review these reports and could address this again in the future. So now, Im stuck with another suspension bill.This is why people leave the brand, a little help builds loyalty.

We have loved them since the day we got them. Well, 1 Day after Powertrain warranty expires on the Edge, the check engine light comes on. Odd, but we figure we better get it checked out ASAP. Take it into the shop the following day as that is when they could get us in. Codes P0303 and P0316 pop up for a cylinder 3 misfire. Turns out vehicle needs a TSB 19-2346 performed. For those of you that dont know, that is a whole Long block replacement (Needs a new motor because cylinder 3 burning up coolant). I am frustrated to say the least that ford will not take ownership of the issue, even though they have came out with a full service bulletin for this issue. Keep in mind the vehicle has a perfect service record and only 45,000 miles on it which is well below average. So now I am sitting here with a broke down car that Ford wants me to pay $6,200 to put a new motor in. This issue has got me thinking about switching completely to another brand because their customer service on this event has been horrible and no understanding from them. Just them telling me I am out of luck.

In January 2016, I began to hear a whining noise when I drove the car in cold weather. I looked up online that there was a service bulletin regarding this problem. I took the car to Lindsay Ford on January 14th. By January 18th, Lindsay still had not pulled the car into shop on January 18th so I decided to retrieve the car and take it back to Koons. I took the care back to Lindsay since they were close to public transportation. I had negative experience at the dealer when I first purchased the car and should have known not to go back. Koons by far is a much better dealer for service.The car was taken to Koons on February 12th. Koons after checking the bulletin determined that it was not applicable to my car. The bulletin, 11-2-14, build date was only up Aug. 13, 2010 and my car was built Aug 31, 2010. After diagnosis, the tech concluded that the noise was due to the transfer case. The cost of repair is estimated at $2235.19. I was further advised that repair would be covered under warranty but that my warranty expired January 5th, 2016.I wrote Ford to see if Ford would extend goodwill coverage for this repair given my service history with Ford and the low mileage, 42K, on the car. This request would have been submitted sooner if it were not for the debacle with Lindsay. My plan with the Fusion is to give it to daughter when she goes to college this fall and buy a new hybrid Ford. Ford denied my claim. As a result, I sold my stock and bought GM and I will never buy a Ford. Bad customer service cost them a shareholder and customer.

The transmission on my daughters 2008 Ford Fusion AWD was diagnosed as bad with 85k on it which required a new one (the internal part was not serviceable) to be installed at a cost approx $5k (she was away at college and all contact with the service dept was via phone). The PTU (the mechanism that transfers the power to the back wheels) was removed from the bad trans and installed on the new one, but the dealership failed to replace $20 worth of seals that Fords service manual requires done when any time the PTU is removed. Now a leak from these internal seals has appeared. To repair the leak, almost the entire front right of the transaxle must be removed which accounts for 90% of the cost due to the 6 hours labor. If the job was done right, when the trans was out of the car, and the PTU was on the bench, labor would have been nearly nothing (I would have paid the nominal amount if asked). The dealership will do nothing saying It didnt leak before and most troubling the Ford Customer Service Dept will not do anything either saying its a dealership workmanship problem and they have no ability to force them to do anything they dont want to do although its their blue oval outside. I decided perhaps it was time to give a US company a try and my research suggested Ford the best of them. I got a new Explorer. Explorer seemed like a solid vehicle until at 20k miles it started to suffer some mysterious electrical problem, the worst of which manifests itself by hitting the gas pedal and nothing happens. The revs are there, its just nada between transmission and the engine. It can last a few seconds to a few minutes and when it does finally engage, the car leaps forward similar to what happens when you drop the clutch hard on a manual car.Other things are rear view cam coming on when going forward, cruise control shutting off for no reason etc. Worst, and potentially dangerous is the dead motor thing. Left me dead in the water in an intersection the other day. Brought it to Ford service three times now. First two times, being (apparently) an electrical issue, and an intermittent one at that, of course they couldnt reproduce the problem or fix it. Third time was the charm as I walked the tech out and it did it for him in person, so he confirmed it and said he thought it was electrical vs. a transmission issue. Once they got it in the shop, you guessed it, they could not reproduce it, and no fix.Now Im getting pissed. Many phone calls, etc. later to Ford corporate, them generally doing jack** to help me, etc., they then ask me to bring it in for a 4th time! I said I would, if they would at least tell me what they would happen after #4 visit and no fix: replace the car, let me out of the lease, etc. if after #4 if was not fixed. Their response was we will evaluate that afterward in a good faith review I responded, So if after #4 and nothing is fixed, we go onto #5? They ignored the Q. Seemed pretty reasonable request to me...Hence a total non answer and yet, I should bring it in for #4 with zero commitment from them, so at that point I declined knowing it was a waste of time and all they are doing is trying to wear me down and give up. I have 7 months left on the lease. So, it appears Im stuck with Ford until the lease run out (which is me paying for a defective car), pay the lease off and walk, which is me throwing $ in the toilet on a defective car. And Ford was supposed to be the most reliable of US brands. No wonder we continue to lose market share to the Japanese, etc.

While traveling down a very long hill at 60 mph, I heard an explosion and then a much louder engine noise. Upon investigation, found a spark plug sitting on top the engine and coil broken completely from the mounting screw. I began a massive rabbit trail into the cause of the failure and the various repair methods. It appears this is a universal failure due to a faulty engineering design that resulted in only a few aluminum threads holding in a steel spark plug. The aluminum is over stressed and fractures from the enormous repetitive shock on the scant threads that hold back all the pressure cycles. I believe that the cover up goes all the way back to the first year or two. The dealership mechanics must be ordered to claim they have never heard of this problem, because all the non-dealer mechanics all know about it. Hundreds, if not thousands of victims to this dangerous design flaw are suddenly stranded or left in life threatening situations such as an engine on fire, stuck in the winter or desert heat. The factory requires a head replacement. There are cheap tap and helo type springs to make a temporary repair, but a kit such as Calvan 38900 or an ATD 5400 Triton kit for $250 can possibly make a semi permanent repair, if you have air tools, cylinder blow out and inspection tools, and know how to lower the cylinder and close the valves before the procedure. So I got a chase tap, it cleaned the threads but the spark plugs still will not go into the engine head. Since this is an enormous problem for consumer and for Ford, a compromise should be for the Ford Manufacturing Company to at least pay for the job to remove all the plugs, install the ATD 5401s in each cylinder professionally, after first blowing all the shavings out of the cylinder after the drilling and tapping the new oversize threads. I personally am older and in disability and am in a bad situation. Do I invest in the tools and kit ($800 or so) or do I just look for a Toyota or other quality car to replace the Ford junk? In any case, Ford Motor Company should recall all the aluminum blocks with this serious defect. They had full knowledge and could have recalled within a couple of years, but instead chose to cover it up. Now we the people are supposed to foot the bill? Replace my heads with ones that cant blow out spark plugs or replace the engine with steel heads.

So I have to pay for the rental car and the shop time, couple hundred dollars. The day after I get home with my wifes car it will not start again. I put a charger on the battery and it will not take a charge. The dealer says they will warranty the battery so I bring it down again to get the battery replaced on a Saturday morning. This will be my 3rd round trip to the dealer, which is an hour away. They replace the battery but make me pay 50 dollars for the new one. The only reason the battery got wrecked was because they left the car outside after I dropped it off and allowed it to drain completely. This should not have happened. I specifically told them they need to bring the car in or put a battery maintainer on it due to the mechanism drawing power constantly with the car off. But they tell me it was not their fault and I have to pay for the battery.After paying for the battery and again being reassured that the auto-start is still the problem and it has been unhooked so I can drive the car until it is repaired, I head to my vehicle to go home. As I approach the car I hear the same high pitch noise that started the whole ordeal! So I promptly go back into the service department and bring the service manager out to hear the noise and tell him it still is not fixed and I am not leaving until they figure it out. They bring it in and actually do a diagnostic on the car and discover that the mechanism is sticking! Exactly what my original, non FORD TECHNICIAN, diagnosed two weeks earlier. They tell me they need to get it in to do more tests before they can order a part but it will not be for 3 weeks until they can look at it again.3 WEEK LATER. I drop the car off, not yet even knowing if they will be covering the repairs under warranty yet or not on this less than 2 yr old vehicle with just over 50000 miles on it. The next day they call and say they have to replace the mechanism and it will be under warranty. It is going be a few days to get the part and get it done. Understandable and we await them calling to tell us it is done.A few days go by and no word. I call and the Service manager says they put the part in but need to do more tests. He calls me back a few hours later and says the computer that is controlling the drive train is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. It is under warranty and they are waiting on the part. I call them next week for a status, my wife and I both work full time and live 8 mile out of town so we rely on 2 vehicles. With different schedules to keep and her needing a vehicle to transport items during the day, we have been begging and borrowing rides for a month already.They say it is on back order and it will be another month and a half until the part is received. I ask if there is any kind of rental assistance or a loaner vehicle we can use until it is fixed. The main reason I am concerned is this is a week before christmas and that is the busiest time of the year for my wife and I and the worst time to be down to one vehicle. They tell me to come get a rental and Ford should cover it. A few days after we get the rental, the dealer calls and says Ford will not pay for a rental and we are going to have to pay for it ourselves.At this point I have made 5 trips to the dealer, who is an hr away one way, paid for mechanic time, battery replacement, and car rental on a problem that should have been covered under warranty. So I ask who I need to talk to about this because I feel as if the dealer is not handling it properly. I get referred to a regional manager 3 TIMES from for customer service and finally on the 3rd time the manager calls me. He, very rudely and arrogantly tells me that warranty does not cover rental or car assistance and we dont qualify for assistance programs. I ask him why we dont and he tells me that he cannot tell me why and he has the final say on it.So I call for corporate offices, feeling like there is no way they could treat someone so ** and care so little for their customers and their satisfaction with their products. After speaking with a very pleasant customer relations lady, the next day the dealer calls and says they will cover the car until the 1st of the year. The status as of today is we still do not have our car fixed. We returned the rental car and paid another 114 dollars for keeping 3 days past the 1st of the year, even though they were not open on the 1st to return the vehicle anyway. And we have no idea when we will even get our vehicle fixed because Ford cannot tell the dealer when a part will be available. Problem started November 10th 2015 and this was written on January 6th 2016. Do NOT buy any FORD PRODUCTS EVERY! Warning! Horrible customer service!

After the warranty repair. It took to January 10/2017 to rebuild the rear axle (no parts available!!!) and to get the van back from the Dealer (Ford of Clermont, FL). Since then the van is creating a loud howling noise between 50 and 60 mph and a loud deep vibration noise over 70 mph. Four more attempts to repair/adjust. Did not fix the issue. Since 12/1/2016 the van spent over 100 days in the workshop trying to fix the rear axle under warranty without success. Since 4 weeks my dealer tries to get in touch with a Ford engineer to assess the issue. Without success. In the meantime the right axle seal failed and spilled all the oil on the road. In addition to the incompetence of the dealership Ford Customer Service is at no service for a customer who has a more complex issue than an oil change. I called Ford customer service several times but all they do is to get you in touch with the dealers management. Ford Customer Service is only set up to make you feel good and to mediate between dealer and customer. I feel that my only option now is to sue the dealer and Ford to get this faulty rear axle replaced.

Yesterday driving home with a trailer full of horses I experienced what has been known as THE FORD DEATH WOBBLE. We were driving around 65mph on a four line highway when we hit a small dip in the road. The wheels on the front end felt like they were coming off the truck, braking made it worse. We pulled over and when we slowed to around 5mph it went away. I called Ford customer service to file a complaint and they were HORRIBLE. I requested a supervisor and was told none was available. I then called the national highway safety board and filed a complaint and got a case number. I then checked the internet and found 2000 plus complaints. Same issue. Ford acts like I was the only one with this issue. For the $80,000.00 I sure you could by a Dodge or Chevy that will not have this issue. SO DISAPPOINTED. We have owned over 20 trucks in our history and have never run into such a poor customer service experience as with Ford Customer Service.

Ford simply does NOT care. FORD DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES!At first Ford tried to say that the warranty is 3/36000 miles, but later admitted that the warranty is actually 5 years/unlimited miles. Then they stated: Corrosion Warranty covers body sheet metal panels against corrosion due to a defect in factory supplied materials or workmanship. Corrosion coverage only applies if the corrosion causes perforation (holes) in body sheet metal panels. Corrosion Warranty coverage begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years, regardless of miles drive. This is a defect in factory workmanship!

It goes well in all types of weather and repairs are fairly inexpensive. Love the adjustable seats and it has Bluetooth and wireless radio as well. The gas mileage is awesome. I love the hatch which has room to spare and it has 2 openings for easy packing and removing. I like the ground clearance too and I love the electric windows, the power seats. The radio and stereo are very nice and I can go about anywhere and the vehicle runs like a 4 wheel drive. I also love the leg room, my husband who is 62 fits well and is comfortable. I also like the roomy backseat so that the kids are not crowded.The car is like a luxury car on a Pinto budget. Some of the body parts are hard to find though. And the radio could use better speakers. A better variety of colors and interior options could be offered as well. The windows need to have better tinting to them. Lighted mirrors would be nice. Also running boards and luggage racks should be standard.

Low levels of integrity especially when faced with legal grey areas. Spot deliveries should be removed as they do nothing but help the dealer and put the potential owners in a precarious position if the unapproved financing falls through. A disabled veteran, who has never purchased a new truck finally decides to make the leap, a dealership who on the surface seems amazing to deal with. One spot delivery and failed financing deal two days later, and the honeymoon is short lived. Out of town and unable to review new documentation I requested the dealer to pick up its truck as financing had failed, it was their truck, and I couldnt give a yes or no until the paperwork was reviewed. Unfortunately for both parties, a drunk driver drove through my yard before my return, and broke the frame of this brand new truck. Putting on a wonderful front, attempting to help (at least on the surface), it seemed all was well. The insurance questioned who owned the truck, because documentation was never signed, and the fun began. On the verge of harassment the dealership went so far as to say they would drive to wherever I was located to get me to sign the documentation, because, in their eyes, why wouldnt I sign the documents I never had a chance to go over. They went so far as to say that the approving credit union knew the truck was wrecked, and that it was deemed OK. A quick phone call to a branch manager proved that the dealership was lying and never disclosed the accident, as a result, the credit union started that neither I or they had financial responsibility to the new truck. The dealer then took the stance that regardless, I owned the truck, and it was my responsibility, and I was on my own. Calls left unanswered, phone calls never returned, and a GM who wouldnt make contact, in stepped lawyers on both sides.  A month later and the issue is unresolved, the dealer refuses to be amicable, and now they have gone so far as to push my personally identifiable information to ANOTHER creditor, obtain an approval without my permission or signature, and expect me to make a payment on a truck I have yet to sign for by the 7th of January.As a disabled veteran, this is heartbreaking to be apart of, it has put me back in therapy. We have approached the VA and Prisma Health (my wifes place of employment) about publishing our story in their newsletter, as it obvious the only thing this dealer understands or respects is the bottom line. I will also be contacting, if approved, all local news outlets that are willing to listen, as this needs to be out in the open. I wonder how many lost customers this issue will cause? And for what? A truck? With so many Ford dealerships to choose from, Lugoff Ford (and by virtue the whole family of dealerships IE Lugoff Toyota, Carolina Dodge, etc.) needs to understand the repercussions of taking advantage of its disabled veterans and hospital workers.

Called customer service and they say they will mark it as a case but until they have many of the same complaints or problems and Ford releases a statement there is nothing they can do about it.I am just so appalled at lack of concern Ford has shown that this young vehicle has this serious of a problem. This is defective and should not be blowing like this. Weve always been a Chevy family & took a chance on this vehicle, what a wrong decision I have made. I have never had to drop that kind of money on any vehicle, I drove my Chevy Trailblazer well past 200,000 miles before I had anything more than your wear & tear issues.I remember over a course of a summer I had to drop about $3000 overall for those wear & tear issues. I’ve actively reached out to the dealer and the individual that I have purchased my current lease through and either haven’t gotten responses or have been getting sky-high pricing. I’ve reached out to at least 20 dealers across the states of NY/NJ/PA and I’ve been met with ridiculous/oppressive pricing and dealers not willing to even discuss pricing. I have the GM of Causeway Lincoln, Dave ** telling me he won’t even talk to me (and this is the first time I’ve reached out to them, so not like there is a bad history). Imagine this lunacy when trying to give people business?Now Lincoln is telling me that if I don’t get another vehicle, which I’ve been trying to do for months, that I will be penalized many hundreds of dollars. This is how they treat the loyalty that I’ve given, the money that I’ve spent, and the referrals that I’ve brought them. They’ve told me to buy more or get penalized. This has not only soured my time with the dealers, but with the brand as a whole. Clearly they have gone into the business of confiscation, not customer service.

By the time the fire department arrived, my ole red truck was a total loss. Why would it just catch on fire? The engine was off. Its really a bummer as now I am out an expensive ride. Plus I had just spent $1,440 on tires for it a week ago. This truck has been maintained - regular oil changes and not one problem. Basically it was very well taken care of. It seems to me there was some kind of malfunction in the engine compartment after shutting the vehicle down. This should have never happened.

So I know a little about Ford. Back then and beyond for quite a number of years, Ford Motor company promoted consumer satisfaction as one of their major concerns. As of late, I cannot state that any longer.Fords quality control has diminished to a low I could have never expected, not only with the manufacture of their automobiles but also the arrogance, disrespect and sheer lack of concern for the consumer. We all are aware of the fact that mechanical things can inherit defects from time to time and some are not the fault of Ford Motor Company like the Takata air bag debacle. It is extremely difficult to remedy a situation as large as this and this is where customer service comes in but Ford has a problem with customer service. They are poorly educated in the field, have no power to get anything done or render any assistance for your concern. Instead, they become frustrated and arrogant and leave you stranded and helpless directing you to take it up with your dealership of which if that were acceptable I would not be calling Ford Motor Company.Among many recent scenarios that have taken place with Ford in the last few years, including a 2011 Mustang with transmission problems that could not be repaired by the dealership that being Dana Lincoln Mercury of Staten Island NY or the so called engineers that came to check the car, I finally had to lemon law it and had Ford take it back after 8 months. The lawyer that handled my case was great at no cost to me, Ford customer service, horrible. After that was settled, I made the mistake of purchasing a 2012 Mustang from the same dealer, Dana Lincoln Mercury of Staten Island NY. Same lack of concern from Ford over a problem with dash gauge clear plastic that was delaminating and blurring vision of gauges and radio. Ford Motor company when contacted, told me it was my fault for using some form of chemical that caused it to delaminate even though it was delaminating from the inside of the clear plastic, not the outside. Then there was a problem with paint bubbling on the hood of the car. The skin of the hood is aluminum and the frame is made of steel. These two types of metal cannot touch without causing a chemical reaction which causes aluminum to oxidize causing the paint to bubble. Paint problems, if you check with Google, has been going on with Ford since the year 2006. You would be amazed at the depth of which this paint problem has gone on and not been exposed. Fords solution,Sorry cant help you. Its probably something you have been using while washing the car. You cant repaint it, oxidation never stops once it starts. My fix, purchased a fiberglass hood for $1400.The latest situation is with my wifes 2007 Mustang with 21,000 miles on it and a DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR. Now I know its difficult to repair thousands upon thousands of cars and obtaining all of those parts from the manufacturer is almost impossible. We waited 2 years from the first recall letter and understood that it is important to recall the newer cars first. So we waited. Checking with the dealer from time to time. Finally we received a letter from Ford that our parts for the 2007 Mustang are now available, call your dealer. We did, set up an appointment, brought the car in just to be told that the parts are not in yet, even though Ford said they were. The service manager assured me that the part is now available and they would order the part and call when it came in. They never called and when I called them, they said they would have to order the part. Here we go round in circles. After 4 attempts with the dealership I contacted Ford Motor Company. It took 3 phone calls to get to a representative that understood my problem and only because I was able to understand him and he understood me. He contacted the dealership, Dana Lincoln Mercury and ordered the part needed for the 2007 Mustang. He also completed the task and made an appointment for me to have it done that coincided with the arrival of the part. I was shocked. Brought the car in on that day at 8 AM and was told that there is no stock on the part needed for my car. Went back home and called Ford Motor Company, tried to explain my problem, spoke to someone who spoke very bad broken English and could not help me at all. At that time I called back and spoke to someone else and asked to be escalated to a supervisor with no success. That customer service representative told me that I had no such recall on that car. The next representative said he would call the dealer, put me on hold and came back and said there were no service advisors available at the dealership to speak to. I said, there are 9 of them there, call back. After he got arrogant with me, I got him to call back. At the same time I called the dealer and spoke to a service advisor. The Ford representative came back on the line and told me again that he could not get to talk to a service advisor. I had to stop. The level of frustration was just too great. I later called Ford customer service again and requested a supervisor. I was told that one would contact me within 48 hours. At this time, I am awaiting their call. If I do not receive a call shortly, I am going to contact local news agencies and the pertinent Government agencies for assistance. Remembering what you have previously read and hopefully you have googled Ford bubbling paint be advised, Ford has made an all aluminum pickup truck this year. I dont know how theyre keeping the paint on it but I would investigate it further if you are thinking of buying one. Leasers have no problem, just give it back. I think thats why Ford quality control does not exist any longer. It doesnt have to. And by the way, I have found out that the dealership, Dana Lincoln Mercury of Staten Island NY, has no loaner cars available. It seems that they have become inundated with a large amount of transmission problems that have taxed them to the limit but you will never hear about that either. I will never purchase another Ford as long as I live even though I am a die hard Mustang lover. Very sad. You have been Advised.

I am currently leasing a Ford Edge from Ford. In my lease, Ford is responsible for the excise tax. I pay $360.00 a month. Two weeks ago, I found out that Ford did not pay the excise tax on my truck and even worse, my plates had been expired since May 2010. I have contacted Ford back and forth and also, I have contacted the City Hall of the town where I live in and they are telling me the excise tax has not been paid while Ford is telling me it has been. So two weeks later, I am still with my truck but off the road. Also, I recently made my monthly payment to Ford but I cannot even drive my truck. I am very disappointed with the way Ford is handling things. I feel they should resolve this with City Hall because their name is on the lease and they are responsible. I just keep getting the run around from both ends because City Hall says it is not paid while Ford says it is. I just want to find out who is responsible and get it resolved as quickly as possible.
