The 2026 Mercedes-AMG SL-Class continues the legacy of one of the most famous luxury sports cars ever produced. Originally introduced in the 1950s, the SL has evolved from a lightweight grand touring roadster into a modern high-performance luxury convertible that combines AMG engineering, advanced technology, and everyday usability.

The current generation is developed entirely by AMG and represents a significant shift toward higher performance while maintaining the comfort and sophistication expected from the SL nameplate.

Overview and Positioning

The 2026 AMG SL-Class serves as Mercedes-AMG's flagship luxury convertible. It is positioned between traditional grand touring cars and dedicated sports cars, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and open-air driving enjoyment.

The lineup typically includes several variants:

SL 43.
SL 55 4MATIC+.
SL 63 4MATIC+.
SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE.

These models range from relatively accessible performance convertibles to hybrid-powered supercar rivals.

Unlike many exotic sports cars, the SL is designed to function as both a daily driver and a long-distance touring machine.

Exterior Design

The SL-Class features a sleek and athletic design that balances elegance and aggression.

The long hood, short rear deck, and wide stance pay tribute to previous generations while incorporating modern AMG styling. A large Panamericana grille, sculpted bodywork, aggressive air intakes, and muscular rear fenders give the SL a powerful presence.

The soft-top roof returns after years of retractable hardtops, reducing weight and improving performance. The roof can be raised or lowered quickly, allowing drivers to enjoy open-air motoring with minimal inconvenience.

Large alloy wheels, active aerodynamic elements, and carefully shaped body panels contribute to both appearance and performance.

The result is a convertible that looks equally at home outside a luxury hotel or on a winding mountain road.

Interior and Luxury

Inside, the 2026 SL-Class offers a luxurious and technologically advanced cabin.

Premium leather, aluminum trim, carbon fiber accents, and high-quality materials are found throughout the interior. AMG sport seats provide excellent support during aggressive driving while remaining comfortable during long journeys.

One of the interior's most distinctive features is the large portrait-oriented central touchscreen. The screen can electronically adjust its angle to reduce glare when driving with the top down.

The digital instrument cluster provides customizable displays, including AMG-specific performance information.

Ambient lighting, premium audio systems, heated seats, ventilated seats, and neck-level heating systems enhance comfort during open-air driving in a variety of weather conditions.

Unlike some competitors, the SL includes small rear seats, adding a degree of practicality.

Powertrain Options

The 2026 AMG SL-Class offers several engine choices.

SL 43

The entry-level SL 43 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine featuring Formula 1-inspired electric exhaust-gas turbocharger technology.

Output exceeds 400 horsepower, providing strong performance while serving as the most efficient model in the lineup.

SL 55 4MATIC+

The SL 55 uses a handcrafted twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8.

Power output approaches 470 horsepower, delivering strong acceleration and the characteristic AMG V8 soundtrack.

SL 63 4MATIC+

The SL 63 utilizes a higher-output version of the same twin-turbo V8.

Horsepower rises to approximately 577 horsepower, transforming the SL into a serious high-performance sports car.

SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE

The flagship model combines the twin-turbocharged V8 with a sophisticated plug-in hybrid system.

Combined output exceeds 800 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful production convertibles ever built.

The electric motor provides instant torque while the V8 delivers tremendous top-end performance.

Performance

Performance varies by trim level, but every version of the SL is quick.

The SL 43 reaches 100 km/h in approximately 4.7 seconds.

The SL 55 lowers that figure to roughly 3.9 seconds.

The SL 63 can achieve 100 km/h in approximately 3.5 seconds.

The hybrid-powered SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE can approach or even exceed supercar levels of acceleration, reaching 100 km/h in approximately 2.9 seconds.

Top speeds vary depending on configuration and optional performance packages.

Regardless of trim, acceleration is smooth, powerful, and effortless.

Driving Experience

The current SL is significantly sportier than previous generations.

Standard all-wheel drive on most models improves traction and stability while making the car more usable in poor weather conditions.

Adaptive suspension systems continuously adjust damping to balance comfort and performance. In Comfort mode, the SL is refined and relaxed. In Sport and Sport+ modes, it becomes noticeably sharper and more responsive.

Rear-wheel steering is available on higher trims, helping improve agility at low speeds and stability at higher speeds.

The steering is precise, body control is excellent, and overall handling is impressive for a luxury convertible.

While not as focused as a dedicated track car, the SL delivers a highly engaging driving experience.

Convertible Experience

The open-air driving experience remains one of the SL's biggest attractions.

The fabric roof operates quickly and efficiently, allowing drivers to enjoy changing weather conditions with minimal interruption.

Wind-management systems help reduce turbulence inside the cabin, making highway driving with the roof down more comfortable.

The available neck-heating system extends top-down driving into cooler seasons, which is particularly useful in northern climates.

Whether cruising through the city or traveling on scenic highways, the convertible experience remains a defining characteristic of the SL.

Technology

The 2026 SL-Class includes extensive technology features.

The infotainment system supports smartphone integration, navigation, wireless connectivity, voice controls, and over-the-air updates.

Advanced driver-assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, parking assistance, and automated emergency braking.

Multiple cameras and sensors improve convenience and safety while driving or parking.

AMG-specific displays provide detailed information about vehicle performance, power delivery, and driving dynamics.

Practicality

Compared to many sports cars, the SL offers reasonable practicality.

The trunk provides usable storage space for luggage and weekend travel. The rear seats can serve as additional cargo space when not occupied.

The comfortable cabin, all-wheel-drive capability, and refined ride quality make the SL suitable for daily use.

It is one of the few high-performance convertibles that can realistically function as an everyday vehicle.

Fuel Economy

Fuel consumption depends heavily on the chosen model.

The four-cylinder SL 43 offers the best efficiency.

The V8-powered SL 55 and SL 63 consume more fuel but deliver significantly greater performance.

The hybrid-powered SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE offers some efficiency benefits while primarily focusing on maximizing performance.

Premium fuel is required across the lineup.

Pros

Beautiful convertible styling.

Strong performance throughout the lineup.

Available V8 and hybrid powertrains.

Luxurious and high-tech interior.

Standard all-wheel drive on most models.

Comfortable enough for long-distance touring.

Usable as a daily driver.

Cons

Expensive, especially higher-performance trims.

Rear seats are very small.

Fuel economy can be poor in V8 models.

Options can significantly increase purchase price.

Hybrid models add weight and complexity.

Final Thoughts

The 2026 Mercedes-AMG SL-Class successfully blends luxury, performance, and open-air driving enjoyment into a single package. It offers the comfort of a grand touring car, the performance of a modern AMG sports car, and the timeless appeal of a convertible.

For drivers seeking a high-performance luxury roadster that can handle daily commuting, long-distance travel, and spirited weekend driving, the SL-Class remains one of the most compelling and complete convertibles available today.

Do not buy Certified Pre-owned Mercedes Benz. They do not have the same warranty as a new car. Although we paid 60K for our GL 350 including extending warranty, and performed all the expensive services at the Mercedes Benz dealership after 2 years the car was diagnosed with heavy sludge on engine and needed an “engine replacement” which was originally denied by Mercedes Benz US indicating that a new engine will not be covered under the warranty because the Vehicle Mastery Inquiry (VMI) did not show any services prior the date we purchased the car. It was shocking for us to realize that the Mercedes Benz dealership in Miami sold us a CPO Mercedes-Benz with no history of service. The engine was finally replaced but only lasted ONE DAY. Apparently the engine came with issues and a SECOND engine was approved and reordered. All this time they were referring as “NEW PART” or “NEW ENGINE”. I called US Corporate to find out what kind of the engine they were putting in the car because it was hard to believe that a new part has passed all inspections and quality controls but failed after installation. Then, the representative told me that both engines approved to be installed were REFURBISHED or USED engines. Our car was in the dealership for a total of 86 days while waiting for approval to be repaired. I lost confidence on the safety of this car, as it was no longer a reliable source of transportation for my daughter. We ended up trading the GL 350 for a new Chevrolet Tahoe.

Bought a year old pre owned. In the 2 years of ownership I have only had 1 repair needed. And I drive more than 12k per year. Former car was a couple of 750LIS and they were in repair shop at least once a month for various small and pricey repairs. All were under warranty but I knew to offload them before warranty ran out. Build quality of the S550 is exceptional and without compromise. It is extremely comfortable and quite brisk. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have a perfectly maintained 2012 S350 Diesel. The navigation is so poor, my iPhone works far better. In order to get the improved navigation disk, I must pay $300 for the update disk and another $250 for a security number to unlock the update disk I bought. I already paid for a navigation system when I bought the car. Now these greedy Germans want $250 just to unlock the disk they sold me. I could buy a new iPhone for what they gouge customers. Im done. Never again will I own a Mercedes-Benz.

GL 350 CDI 4matic - I was driving, when I started smelling something burning in the car. Smoke fumes were emanating from somewhere under the drivers side of the dashboard under the steering wheel. I stopped the car and immediately switched off the ignition. The car was then towed away to the nearest Mercedes Benz centre. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I made an appointment for 7:30 to have my 300C Mercedez Benz serviced on 9/20/11. I arrived at 6:30 that morning, being the first car to arrive. They took my car in between 7:15 to 7:30. I spoke with sales representative Mari **, and once we were done, I asked if there was a loner available. She said there wasnt any until two weeks. That was an inconvenience because I needed to get to work. She then arranged for me to be dropped off. While in the waiting area (first one), other customers began to arrive, dropped their cars, and left with loners. When I was finally called to be driven to work, I walked outside and there was a loner. It doesnt end there. I was told that I would be picked up. At no time during the day, Mari gave me a courtesy call in regards to the status of my car. At the end of my work day, which ends at three oclock, I wasnt picked up or contacted. At which time, I had to take a taxi to the dealer in Larchmont, NY that cost me 50$. Upon my arrival at 4 p.m., Mari says to me, Oh, your back. I stated, Yes, you told me I was going to be picked up. Why wasnt I contacted? After that being said, she stated that the car was not serviced as yet and that they were backed up. The waiting area was completely empty .No Customers. At this time, Ii was livid and none could give me any answers. Mari kept apologizing, then she said to me, Let me check at the back to see whats going on. She returned a few minutes later and said that they are getting started right now. I immediately told her to have my car brought around and that I will take it to White Plains Dealership. I was totally displeased with the service and disappointed with the way I was treated. I feel that Larchmont Mercedes Benz dealers are racist. I was the only Black female getting my car serviced at the time and the only one that was wrongfully treated. This was the worst experience in my life.

I purchased a new 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van and at approximately 5000 miles I started having transmission issues. I brought it to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. Every time they tried different things from updates to the control module, replacing the valve body to even swapping out the transmission control module all with no resolve. They even had a technical rep come out and after 3 weeks in the shop it’s still not working correctly. I’m convinced that their technicians are glorified part swappers and they have no clue what theyre doing. This is my first experience with Mercedes Benz and it’s going to be my last because to date this issue has cost me over 25k in lost business from not having my van and Mercedes Benz could care less.

I purchased my Mercedes Benz (MB) Metris in 2018, new. 1 month after the warranty expired, I had an ABS sensor go bad. The van had 18,000 miles on it. It was replaced and the next day the ABS light came on again. Thinking it was a faulty sensor I returned it to the repair shop. They called to tell me that this time it was the other wheels ABS sensor. For a vehicle I had purchased specifically for the reliability and dependability I was extremely disappointed that these sensors would go bad so quickly. This is a MERCEDES. My mechanic suggested I contact the dealer. I have called the dealer 6 times, and each time they have said someone in their service department would get back to me. I gave them 1 week after each call to get back to me. I have never had a return phone call. The last time I called I asked for the manager. Again, promised call back, with no call. Then I reached out to make a written complaint on MB of America, still no response. I finally called MB of America customer service and did speak to a very nice man who agreed, this is not a normal thing to occur. He researched to part to see if there was a recall, none found. Then he proceeded to only provide a case number for reference if it happens again... This cost me almost $1000 dollars and I dont believe I should have incurred this expense on a vehicle with only 18k miles on it. For a vehicle maker who claims to be responsive, Im not feeling satisfied.

I purchased a 2013 CPO C250. What sold me was the unlimited mile warranty. I had discussed with the finance dept what was and wasnt covered. I had also discussed what the car was to be used for. The purchase was Jan 5 2015. The car was in the shop a lot. I average about 65k miles a year. I had used the warranty several times without a hitch. 2 weeks ago my car was in the shop and I get a text from my writer saying, MBUSA has canceled your warranty. Come pick up your car. So I did. I arrived at the dealership and was amazed that they returned a broken car that looked like they parked it under a tree full of birds. Very tacky. Now, afraid to drive the car. I baby it every time I drive it. Of course thats no good. The car left me stranded last night in the middle of nowhere and dumped all the oil out. Seems a little convenient. Almost like they knew it would happen. I have been in the auto business for many years and have never seen a customer treated this badly. Thats not the whole ugly story but Im sure you get the gist of it. Big thumbs down for MBUSA. BTW, I sell German cars and we are a class act compared to this manufacturer.

I purchased a Benz E250 Coupe 2 Door in 2010 straight from the dealership. The vehicle was hardly used and is mostly driven by a driver and no passengers and has only been driven less that 30,000km. Last year the front passenger seat, when you try to adjust the seat forward or backward only one side moves. Therefore the seat becomes one sided. When we took it in to the dealership they said that the mechanism under the seat needs to be changed. Guess how much it costs? Close to USD5000.00. How can a prestigious vehicle such as this have a defective part that powers a seat that was hardly ever used? Inferior comes to mind. So how can I get some relief?

I have had my 2015 C300 W4 since 2018. Here are the facts to my car and experience. I purchased the car at the Rallye Dealership in Long Island, New York. I purchased it at 12,000 miles. As of today, April 4th, 2022, I have a total of 36,000 miles. My warranty had expired in April 2019. On March 9th, my dashboard had a check engine light sign come on in so I took it directly to the Foothill Ranch service center in California. Again, I have had this car since 2018, barely drove or had any miles on it, and always received the A and B service maintenance at a certified Mercedes-Benz dealership. After checking out the engine light, Benz told me I had a positive crankcase valve and needed to replace it. The costs? $1,900. Plus, I had a diagnosis where I would need about $10,000 in repairs. I thought this was absurd being that I did not have any miles on this car or that my car would need such a costly repair plus $10,000 worth of other repairs. I reached out to the customer service team at Mercedes-Benz where I was assisted by a man with the initial S. He came back to me reading off a policy script saying they would only cover 50% of the total repair costs of $1,900... Imagine hearing that Mercedes-Benz wants to cover only 9% of the total costs of repairs my car needs. I reasoned with him letting him know I would cover up to $2,000 of other repairs needed if and only if Benz could cover the replacement crankcase valve. In return, he again reads the same script saying Benz cant do anything else. It was just so disappointing to work with someone who acted as if it was his money that I was asking for. He didnt even empathize or try to advocate for me being that I hadnt even driven this car. Yes, my warranty expired but again, I only had 35,800 miles when I initially brought the car in to check out the engine light. This experience with S really changed my perspective on this company. I am selling my car because I cant believe a brand like Mercedes-Benz couldnt even offer to cover a $1,800 repair out of the $10,000 costs of total repairs I was recommended to fix... Think about that and let it sit with you. This experience has confirmed and affirmed never to buy or support a company where although factually this car has issues and it is a quality issue WITHIN Mercedes-Benz, that youve amounted to a single percentage. Its incredible that I who have made all my payments and paid for all my maintenance services, was told no and that Mercedes cannot offer anything else. Even as a courtesy, nothing was provided. I hope that in the future whoever speaks to anyone or an S who works as Executive Referral Manager will note that they wont help you or will only cover a small percentage. I cannot wait to get this car out of my hands and provide my money elsewhere and not to this company. I am looking forward to the day this car is out of my hands, my sight, and no longer affecting my pockets.

I purchased a 2007 c230 Mercedes Benz new. I have 61,000 miles on the car. The check engine light comes on and off. When my mechanic used the systems diagnostic machine on my car. The code came up as P0012 on this M272 engine. My mechanic tells me that the Camshaft inlet position is incorrect on right side. This ultimately leads to problems with the car shifting properly and need for a future balance shaft replacement which is a costly major engine repair. I am greatly disappointed as I saved the money for a few years to purchase this beautiful car. It has not lived up to the Mercedes Benz reputation for value or reliability..

Two cars, MB SL-500 and MB S-500, both with low mileage but just out of warranty time-wise. SL-500: New wiring harness before I bought it at 25K; new motor mounts at 29K; new shift linkage at 28K; convertible top died mid-cycle at 39K, it took four months to repair; Ball Joints at 41K. For the S-500: Power steering unit at 60K; new fuel pump at 61K; new A/C at 61K; new auto door lock system at 65K; new ignition at 65K. Every part cost $800 plus and $150/hour in labor. Average repair cost is $2,500/month. Maintenance is also done every month. I drove one car with fingers crossed while the other was in the shop. Both cars are gone! Never ever again.

I have spent more than $60k for this car 2 years ago. I have 59k miles on the car. Last 3 months, I have engine light coming on on the dashboard. Took 3 times to local Lakeland dealer. Explained 1st time that it was just the software update requirement and paid $150. 2nd time was advised that there is lack of Blutec fluid which was wrong because there was no sign on the dashboard for that. 3rd was another reason, Problem with the oxygen sensor. The estimate to change the sensor is $950.At 3rd time I found the oil leak in my garage so the tech checked out and mentioned that the oil leak is from engine and it is 13 to 14 hours job to fix because top half of the engine needs to be removed. Total cost is $2600 for this job. Total $3500 expense after paying 60k for the luxury car. I have several other cars like Chevy Venture and Lexus 470 and more than $100000 car and took to the dealer for just oil change or tire change. Ive been working with the HQ in NJ to get it covered under warranty because it is just 9000 over the limit of 50k warranty manufacturer provide. Is this a red signal to buy a luxury car and take to the dealer more often because it has more electronics?? Or is it just Mecedes c350???

I love my car...HOWEVER, the price to get it worked on at a Mercedes dealership is absolutely ridiculous! They will try to get you to change your windshield wipers and charge you several hundred dollars when you can buy online and spend 50. I dont know if the upkeep price of the little things that go wrong are worth the hassle and cost. You really need someone who is Mercedes certified to work on your car. I brought mine into a shop to get an alignment and they couldnt do it so I will have to bring to the dealership.

In my opinion, the forward collision avoidance system (AEB) in my 7 mo. old 2018 Mercedes C300 SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK. I special ordered the car with the 997 pkg that includes, Driver Assistance, BAS+, and Distronic. I have been close enough to stopped or slowed down vehicles on the highway, that it should have at least alerted me (beeped) if not started to auto brake. During my 8,000 miles of driving, I have had cars cut in front of me or turn in front (as they went through a red light) and there has been no alert much less any braking. In addition, I was surprised to find that this vehicle apparently DOES NOT HAVE rear cross traffic alert other than perhaps from 2 feet away. That is, if I am backing up and there is traffic coming from the side, there is no alert! Even worse, if there is a pedestrian BEHIND the car or walking behind it, there is no alert other than if they are 1-2 away which is much too close to be able to stop. Granted, the rear camera works fine, but if my head is turned to look back as I am backing up, I cannot see the screen on the dash. The MB manual states: “If active brake assist detects that there is a risk of collision, you will BE WARNED VISUALLY AND ACOUSTICALLY. If you do not react AUTONOMOUS BRAKING CAN BE INITIATED IN CRITICAL SITUATIONS.” And further that “autonomous braking works at 4-124mph for moving objects and 4-31 mph for stationary objects.” I have made at least 4 visits to two different MB dealers and all they will tell me is that “their computer shows no problem.” They are unwilling to drive the car to attempt to simulate when AEB should work. All of these are common features on many $35,000 vehicles in 2018; I have driven some of them and the alerts and auto braking + rear cross traffic and rear pedestrian alert works very well. MB corporate is incredibly uncooperative which is truly shocking for a company that prides itself on its safety record and reputation.

Spent over $50,000.00 on this SUV (2017 Mercedes GLC300), for the last year I have been trying to get Customer Service to help me with the Send2Benz feature in the Mercedes Me app. After spending countless hours on the phone with them, a representative told me the particular unit installed in my vehicle isnt compatible with Send2Benz, apparently they used 2 different brands of Navigation in the GLCs and the one in my SUV isnt compatible. I have complain to the Concierge and she didnt seem to care, told me there was nothing she could do and I just have to manually type in the address. I also emailed and called the General Manager Edoardo ** and he will not return my messages. I think they need to replace my unit with one that works correctly.

Let me start off by saying that when I test drove my 2010 GL-350 I fell in love with it. The engine was smooth, transmission great and interior quality was fantastic, so I went ahead and purchased it. Despite having 90k miles on it (I have had diesels before and run them until 150k easily and know they can go much higher so the miles didnt worry me) I thought it was a sound decision (I have also owned 2 Mercedes before and loved them both ML-350s). Well after 4 Check engine lights including Blue Tech low (the CEL came on before the warning to top up the tank!), Fuel line break spraying diesel over a relay, Blue Tech heater replacement and an O-ring failure on the turbo and over $3000 in 4 months I finally decided to trade it out. I worked with the Dealer who sold me the vehicle in the first place (MB of Westminster in CO) to try to get a replacement, but I felt like I was starting from scratch again and they were not offering me anywhere near what I paid for it (in effect negating any equity I had in the vehicle) so we ended up at an impasse (interestingly, I test drove a 2010 ML 350 with 45k on it and while on the test drive the CEL came on!!!!) leaving me with a vehicle that was nice to drive, but every few minutes I was looking to see if that Check Engine Light had come on again.....not relaxing at all!! In the end I decided to trade it in for a new Japanese car losing a LOT of money but gaining a car that has a bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years. My advice if you are looking at an older Mercedes - DO NOT Buy!

I went there to purchase a GL 450 2015. The purchase was all cash. We agreed on the price and after waiting for the finance guy to clean up his desk which took a lot of time, we were ready to sign the papers. After two hours being in that dealership the sales manager came and informed us that the general manager wants us to sign a paper and also put $10000 security deposit in order to make sure that we are not going to ship the car to China for two years and then they will return the deposit. They even took a copy of my Dental license. I objected the security deposit, in the beginning after consulting with someone they agreed to the signing a paper and copy of my license. After signing almost 90% of the paperwork the guy got a phone call and then told us they cannot go ahead with the deal. We wasted more than two hours in that dealership and felt very insulted. The General manager think everybody is a criminal otherwise they prove they are not... just not American way.

I was told to watch for oil drops, antifreeze etc for 3 years. Finally I found how I could demonstrate the smell to the dealer, who kept the car for over a month and drove 2000 km. Could not find the problem. Car was returned and I was told that they are unable to correct this problem and one of the managers will contact me. It might take a long time. That was August 2017. I wrote many e-mails, but nobody wants to talk to me. I am very unhappy with the people representing M.B. I also contacted Germany, but no help. I also contacted M.B. Germany, answer - Contact M.B. Canada which I did with no help from them.

What does the Mercedes brand represent? Safety? Reliability? Excellence? Comfort? Customer Service? Not anymore. My brand new 2019 Mercedes c300 and MB USA have failed me in all of these areas. My car, which is barely six months old, stalled without any warning while I was on the interstate heading to work. I narrowly avoided several collisions while trying to pull over. I had the car towed to the dealership (MB of Orlando), and the car was returned to me the next day with assurance the issue was fixed. I asked to speak with the service director Ed **, but he never called me, rather he only responded with brief and vague emails. I also requested to speak with Mr. **, the general manager, and he too was elusive. Ten days later, it stalled again on the interstate on a Sunday evening. This time, my pregnant wife was with me, and needless to say the experience caused her a great deal of distress. We had the car brought to MB of South Orlando, as it was the closest dealership to where the car stalled. I was told by this dealership to leave the car, and theyll have it looked at in the morning. I asked them to please help me and my pregnant wife find a ride home, perhaps provide a shuttle, or loaner vehicle. They said there is nothing they can do, and that we need to find our own way home. They returned the vehicle two days later, saying its working fine now after replacing a computer chip. I decided to call MB USA customer service the next day, and explained my disappointment to the representative. I was assured somebody would call me within 24 hours from corporate. 24 hours came and went, and no call from corporate. Finally, about 36 hours later I was able to get a hold of Jena from corporate.Jena listened attentively to my grievances, and was sympathetic to my situation. She said shell get back to me after gathering more information about the vehicle, and speaking with the dealerships. To her credit, she did follow up with me. However, she said the vehicle has been serviced per contractual and warranty agreements, and that there is nothing else MB USA is required to do for the customer. Im extremely disappointed by the level of customer service from MB USA, and the MB dealerships mentioned. Im even more disappointed that my vehicle is not safe or reliable, having broken down twice in two weeks. Mercedes Benz, is this your new standard?

I have a 2 year old, C class AMG, still under MB warrantry. When bought from a non franchised MB dealer which had 4,500 on the clock when bought - It now has 7,800 on the clock. In that time the front discs have been changed once at 6,000 miles and are now due for change again. With a different issue. For the first week or two, the brakes were perfect. Then I could feel the brake pedal was pulsing. After a new set of MB discs. Current issue with these, is horrendous vibration on the car all over the car at minimum braking. (Anything above 20mph). Hard braking, the vibration disappears until you start easing off on the brakes. Or, you get below 20mph.3 weeks ago, it was booked into, first MB (Solihull) dealership, on latest discs changed at 5,500 roughly and car was showing 7,000. Lucas over the phone called me and said front discs are warped. Told him not correct (or words to that effect.) Cant be, its had new MB discs. He told me. In which case take it back to the (non) franchise dealer you bought it from and get them to repair it... which I was not happy with it the slightest. So, I talked to the manager of the dealership and he pacified me by saying, its a known issue, when bolting the wheels up to the hub (Basically fed me **, it turns out). So, two weeks ago, took it to an independent garage. After telling them the issues. They said instead of just slapping new discs on. They would check everything. So, they clocked the wheels to the hub. Both fronts running true. Then clocked the front hubs. Drivers side was running out 0.005 though. Passenger side was running bang on. (So, MB Solihull were wrong, and were effectively going to fit new discs to a hub that was out?)At that point Id decided never to use MB Solihull again. Due to Lucas telling me to take the car back to the dealers Id bought it from over the phone and an incorrect fault diagnosis. I think they were more interested in carrying out the software update to the powertrain module, than sorting out the issue I had with the brakes (Probably never even took the wheels off. Just drove the car. Experienced the vibration and fed me, what is in the customers handbook). Lucas said he would e-mail me the report. Needless to say, that never happened. Yesterday the non-franchised dealers I bought it from, had it booked it into 2nd different MB (Coventry) garage. I though to cure the problem. The dealer told MB Coventry, everything wed learned from the independent garage.I phoned MB Coventry at 2.30pm and was eventually told that theyd found the problem. It was rust on the hub and you have a broken bearing. So youve cured the problem? No. Weve not been told to cure it. And started to talk about corrosion on the mating faces. etc. Straight out of your How to get out of sorting a known issue handbook. (I was not polite, as by then Id realised that I would be driving this heap of scrap on the motorway for another week).Got off the phone and phoned up the garage who stripped the car down last week. They said no signs of rust on the hub. Then phoned the dealer and apparently MB had quoted for Two hubs. Even though one hub was running true... not sure what else they quoted for. Just knew they were trying to rip me off. I then went to the Coventry branch to pick the car up and discuss with the manager, the issues I have. He shows me pics of the hub and shows pics of the broken bearing. So, incredulously I say to him, youve stripped a car down and put it back together again with a broken front hub bearing, and are going to hand that car over to me? (Basically called him a liar as I didnt believe the hub he was showing me, was mine (Even if it was. The implications of giving a car back to a customer with a fault such as that, doesnt bear thinking about). He talked to me, out by the car and went all over the wheels looking for any signs of bangs or refurbishment, even suggested the wheels werent the originals... While he was doing this, I noticed that the outside areas of the wheels, were still covered in brake dust. So, voiced my doubts that theyd even taken the wheels off, at all. He persuaded me they had, as the wheel nut areas you could see no brake dust. Which brings me to the question that if MBs wheels/hubs, etc. are so critical on their mating faces that they need to be spotlessly clean. Surely the very first thing MB should do, before removing the wheels, is to remove any brake dust on the outside? So, when bolting up the wheels, Your not compounding the problem?(The car is vibrating all over the place. A bit more brake dust isnt going to make that much difference). The manager also blamed refurbished wheels? Everything basically that was not covered, by the MB manufacturing warranty. I then said, there is no way I would ever, take a car of mine to MB for anything and I wouldnt trust their mechanics to put my great grand daughters Lego together if their latest diagnosis on my car is to be believed. I will never buy an MB again, as they obviously have a serious design defect, that needs addressing, if the brake discs are that fragile. Manager agreed by looking sheepish, if that makes sense. My perception of MB is that they like scaring people into throwing their money away. Total whitewash with respect to my customers complaint. Obviously couldnt give a damn about their (ex) customers. More interested in trying to screw as much money out of gullible customers as they can. Clearly a good business model. But one ex-customer isnt going to make a difference.

I bought a Mercedes ML350 2012 in mid October of this year. The check engine light came up after one month and a half (1,500 miles). I took it to the dealer of Massapequa three times and it seems like they cant fix it. Now, Im driving their loaner car for a week and they promised to have it done, asap. I dont know yet the New Yorks > law. I think after 3 or 4 times, I should get a replacement. I was so proud to have another Mercedes (I own a 300SD 1985) when I bought it and now I feel like I was wrong. Isnt this a serious issue? The dealership didnt even call me today as they promised me, to let me know what the story is and how long I have to wait for my truck. I am so frustrated with this serious issue and I am asking you if you could be able to do something about this. Thanks.

My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.

I purchased a used 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230. The car had around 70k miles on it. I was driving home one night and the car suddenly jerked and went into Limp mode. Meaning the car would not accelerate past 40 mph. I was able to drive it to a MB Service Center where I was informed that a sensor inside the transmission had failed, it was an anti-theft related part and could only be installed and programmed by Mercedes. I reached out to Mercedes for some assistance and was told because the car wasnt serviced throughout its life by MB they were not willing to help with the cost of the part. $2,700.My next purchase of a Mercedes was a 2009 C63 AMG. These are high-performance, hand-built engines. I verified this vehicle had always been serviced at a MB dealership before I purchased it. Around 80,000 miles, I was driving down the interstate and was about to pass someone when a check engine light came on and my vehicle lost all power, we were lucky there was enough of a gap in the Houston traffic to pull over safely. The vehicle was towed to Mercedes and was there about 3 or 4 days before they called and told me a wiring harness for the fuel pump had shorted out and needed to be replaced. $700. It took them another 3-4 days to actually get the vehicle repaired. At about 85,000 miles I get a notification that my brakes need to be replaced. Call MB for a quote. $6,000.At about 90,000 miles a check engine light came on. It went off but soon after it returned. I took it to the Mercedes Dealership, 4 days later they call me and tell me my INTAKE MANIFOLD is cracked and needs to be replaced for $3,747.00. This is a hand-built performance engine, are you kidding me? I again reach out to MB USA with my concerns and looking for some assistance, they tell me the service records dont matter and its about 1. If I bought the car from Mercedes and 2. How many times I, myself have had the vehicle serviced by the dealership. From that they decide if they feel the need to help with the cost of the repairs. This part is obviously faulty and Mercedes would be embarrassed if I posted the pictures of the crack in this aluminum-alloy intake manifold and the bubbles forming in the weaker parts of the metal.I asked the Lead Technician what would cause something like this and his response was That would be a question better answered by an engineer. I am not saying all cars dont have their problems, I am saying most of us cant afford the problems Mercedes-Benz have. The parts, service, and maintenance required on these vehicles is extremely expensive and if something happens you better hope you have thousands of dollars laying around that you can use.

I bought a new MB E350 2014. The car has spent more time in the workshop than with us. List of issues: Noise in the front of car, noise while turning the car. The biggest issue with the car has been getting flat tires on passenger side three times in 4-6 months time. The tire get bubbles and then get flat eventually. This car is only 7000 miles in 18 months. Dealership keep telling us that it hit a pit or bump and other reasons to get flat tire. This is my 4th car and I never had any issue in any cars where tires get flat every two months. I am very very frustrated with this car and would never ever in my life ever ever buy or recommend anyone buying Mercedes Benz.

Ive had to have 2 tires replaced due to bubble issues in my Mercedes C-300. Although I thought my experience was unique, today (June 15, 2015) when I went to get my car oil changed it appears I wasnt the only one with this issue. Two other customers at the Mercedes service desk had exactly the same issues. Imagine my surprise! At $275 a tire all of us were pretty twisted that this issue is going on and Mercedes has NOT issued a recall on this brand tire! Can someone help stop this unsafe issue? Does someone have to get hurt first? How many more people are in the same boat? Can someone canvas the service logs at Mercedes and see how bad this issue really is? Lastly based on the young attendant behind the desk she said, weve had tons of people with flat tires. She also stated, dont worry we have truckloads of tires in inventory. How scary! What would you assume? Someone please advise, how do we proceed?

When you paid premium price for purchasing and routine maintenance of a MB
When you paid premium price for purchasing and routine maintenance of a MB 350E, you expect a solid car with good quality. You would be wrong! My 2011 MB 350E has shown poor quality of materials. The control buttons of the steering wheel were wrapped with a piece of plastics and starting smearing. Moreover, the car seat cover has been torn apart, while the main driver of the car is lighter than 120 lb and the car has been parked mostly in garages. You can see that in the attached photos. I have never seen a premium car deteriorated so early so fast. It seems that the car was built with too many low quality artificial materials, or plastics, and not built to last! Maybe MB is expecting people to spend money every other year to buy a new one. Well, with such poor quality, people may have to to buy a new car in a year or two after an MB, but another brand!

It has leather heated seats, great sound system, fancy sunroof for stargazing without being exposed to mosquitoes. I also trust the safety features it has. The rear wheel drive is the only thing I dont like about it, it is very difficult to drive on snowy conditions with rear wheel drive. After I visited the car dealer to trade in my car to buy another, I chose a 2006 R 350 Mercedes Benz. After I test drive it I decided to go ahead and buy it, did the paper works, I was inform that I couldnt drive the car home that night, the report was they having a problem starting the vehicle, something to do with the battery. I try to resolve it but it kept doing the same thing, I think that when they realized it was not the battery but something more internal. Long story short, after I receive the car couple day after it was deliver, it would not start. Took it back to Spanos, they looked at it and said they didnt find anything wrong with the it. Thought maybe its just a one time thing, but after about a couple of days, the car kept doing the same thing until about three month of having the car, it stop working completely.Took it to my mechanic and thats when I found out that they actually rig up the gas pump with industrial glue, they reroute a wire in the fuse box because they didnt want to spend money to fix it before they put on their lot for sale. I actually took it to the Mercedes Benz shop and they were baffled that someone could rig up a repair and sell it to unsuspecting customer. Now Im stuck with a car I cant drive for months, it still in the shop and that to and injury they actually sold me the car way over Kelley Blue Book value, stole my cadillac for little or nothing, now Im stuck with a car with a bad repair. My only thing is I would like Spanos to make sure they repair these car properly before they put it for sale. They do have a bad reputation for doing stuff like that and I also like for them to fix my car or pay for the repairs they should have done before it was sold to me.

Recently I had the misfortune of seeing what Ethanol can do to a very expensive auto. My Mercedes SL 600(12-cylinder) simply stopped running while on a major road in NJ. I was able to get it to a nearby mechanic who diagnosed a fuel pump failure. A new pump was installed and the car quickly stopped running while burning out the pump. It was towed to Mercedes where it sits for over 4 weeks after they installed a new fuel TANK... a fuel tank!! I believe the damage done to the engine is catastrophic and it isnt going to end well with MB. The tragedy is my 150K car has very low mileage since it was my toy. It never saw harsh weather and sat garaged every winter. Problem is Mercedes knows Ethanol is Hygroscopic and mixes with water. Being heavier than gasoline, this mix of ethanol and water settles to the bottom of the tank where it corrodes metal and rubber gaskets. Think about this; Ethanol that precipitates out of gas settles and the Ethanol now becomes concentrated to mixtures greater than 20-30%. Read up on what this % of ethanol can do to a motor and fuel system. The Marine industry has been living with this nightmare for over a decade...

Still arguing with #Mercedes about the mold building up and smell in the AC system on the 2016 GLC300. Had this issue since new! They will not stand behind their products even though there’s a class action lawsuit. Everything in the lawsuit says they have to pay for future repairs, yet every dealer refuses to do it. Any attempt of remediation results in being re-read the terms of the settlement, and then transferred all over the place until there’s no solution. I have two Mercedes I bought new: an E300 in 2017 and a GLC300 in 2016. These will be my LAST Mercedes cars. Their brand name and the premium costs you pay mean nothing as they do NOT support their customers or the products they make. I have owned two of them, the first on a lease and the second one a purchase. Although my current E350 is a 2013 model, it still looks new in style and condition. I have found it extremely reliable and with the MB Certified warranty, a wise buy. There are a number of great improvements to this model each year, but my current 2013 is as good as them all. I cannot express in words my disappointment and disgust in my recent experience with Mercedes-Benz. I will never own another model. It is certainly not what I would expect from a luxury car or a first-class dealership. I researched for several weeks before choosing to purchase and finally deciding on the GLA. The fact that it was a Mercedes made the decision easier for me as I knew it would be a car that would be flawless and have unmatched resale value. I purchase a new 2016 GLA 250 on July 18, 2016. After driving my brand new GLA for only 2 weeks, I took it in for an unusual wind noise coming from the drivers side window. I trusted that because the car was sold to me with an obvious factory default, the dealership would make every effort to remedy this problem and ensure customer satisfaction. I was heartbroken to be told that it could not, and would not, because the noise was due to the way the car was factory-made and attempting to do any repairs would void the extended warranty that I had purchased. To date, no one from the dealership or Mercedes-Benz has contacted me or made an attempt to remedy this situation. Unfortunately, because of this experience, this will be the first and last Mercedes-Benz I will ever own. The unfortunate thing for Mercedes-Benz of Beaumont, whether they realize it or not, is that my husband is a bank president in a small town about 25 miles west of Beaumont, that has three locations, and I work in a thriving school district in a town 30 miles east of Houston. Between the two of us, we know a great deal of people. We know first-hand, about customer service and how vital it is to a business, large or small. We intend to tell everyone we know of our horrendous experience with that dealership. To add insult to injury, I have since received an email indicating that I have received new inquiries on my credit, which may lower my credit score. It did indeed change my credit score by significantly dropping it several points. The report details show they are all due to inquiries from Mercedes Benz. After contacting MBUSA by phone and in writing, this is the response I have received: Hi Pam, thanks for your patience. Your comments have been shared with our colleagues at MBUSA and we regret to hear of your continued dissatisfaction. Our colleagues advise, that they have already confirmed their position with regards to your vehicle. For this reason, they will not be making further contact with you at this stage. We appreciate your understanding. Kind regards, your Mercedes-Benz Social Media Team. I have started the process to cancel my extended warranty and will be selling my GLA as soon as possible. I have reviewed the GLA on several websites unfavorably and plan to file a report with the Better Business Bureau regarding the horrendous customer service at Mercedes-Benz of Beaumont. For a company known for first class customer service and satisfaction, you should be embarrassed to have colleagues such as those at MB-Beaumont in your employ. I have since read countless reports of the same wind noise from other owners on various websites. DO NOT PURCHASE A GLA!!! As for me, I will NEVER drive another Mercedes. There are plenty of other luxury models to choose from.

We have a 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL350 that listed new for 80,000.00. We bought it used in October of 2018 and it appeared in Excellent condition and had a clean Carfax and great service history. It had about 97,000 miles on it when we purchased it. At approximately 108,000 miles the engine locked up with no warning. The cost to replace the diesel engine with a new engine is close to 25,000.00. I contacted Mercedes Customer service and was informed that since I didnt purchase the vehicle new and I didnt have its yearly service done at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, they would not be able to offer any assistance with the repair cost. I was informed that even if I had purchased it new and had it serviced by the book, they would probably only offer about 5-10% of the repair cost. I was then told that if I wanted to purchase a New Mercedes GLS model, that they would offer me a discount coupon of $3,000.00.A new GLS starts at about 65,000.00. I think an 80,000.00 vehicle should last longer than 108000 miles, even if the dealer does not maintain it. By looking at the vehicle it is apparent that it was maintained. POOR customer service and product support in my opinion. Now I have a vehicle that I owe 16,000.00 on, and I would be lucky to get 6000.00 in the condition it is in now. And a used motor would still cost around $10,000.00. In addition to the engine, I have had to replace the oil filter housing due to a leak at less than 100000 miles, and recently I replaced the rear air bag and sensor and the air diverter valve also. Done with Mercedes for sure.

Many people seem to complain as just read on this site about MB. I currently own a 95 SL500, a 2004 S55, and a 2017 GLC300. If you search for an SUV of the small size like the GLC, you will see that there are many choices and the price seems to be all the same. We looked at GM as I also have a 20 year old Tahoe that I use to tow stuff. For the money the MB is comfortable and particularly nice looking for a car of the type (I will have to say kinda common) but it still has the status of driving a Mercedes. But in many cases we found it cheaper than other brands. As for my 21 year old SL it has 45k on the odometer and I have done all the maintenance like it was being driven every day and I havent thought twice to get in and take a long trip. It cost 102k 20 years ago and my house was a few bucks more, you have to treat it as a car built for speed and handling so expensive is the word to describe the car. Even though you can buy one for 4 thousand bucks, it is still a 100k car.The S55 is simply a great pleasure to drive with so much power and 3 feet between the front seats and the back seat. My only complaint is the model prior was in my opinion better looking but again you expect the car to perform as new and it will with proper fluid changes, brake, cooling etc. This car is as new and handles that way, if you wait for items to break then usually because of engineering many other parts will need repair. The best thing to say is taking care of these cars and learning how to do the maintenance will save money and also let you see problems that are required for a repair. Enough said.

C250 2012 - I bought this car new from the dealer and although Im satisfied with the vehicles performance, I think MBenz should re-evaluate what they are charging clients. Oil changes and the many maintenance repairs are incredibly high! I will not recommend anyone to buy an expensive vehicle that overprices their maintenance. My next vehicle will definitely not be a MBenz.

Hi there. Whoever is reading this is my experience. I fought with my cousin for many years, Who is better Benz or Audi? I could not take it from him saying Audi is better. But now after owning many of Mercedes I realized he was right. I have a Mercedes Metris that I bought last year for $40,000 for my company. Used it for year and putting 30k on it. Worth now $18,000. Seriously. Tires are worn already pieces inside a car. They start falling apart. Looks more like Kia or any other cheap car. Whats happening Mercedes? You cant afford competition anymore. Then stop producing this cars. We will buy 30-years-old ones. They run better and have great value. I also own 2010 ML appraised $12,300 only 70,000 miles... I am moving to any other car but you Mercedes. Bye.

Have been driving a new ML350 for about 5 months and just noticed that the warning for passenger rear doors that are NOT latched closed is only given after the car is in motion 6-7 MPH? Seems too late for anyone (young child) or maybe anything leaning against the door (hopefully seat belt will protect against falling out). I tried this, just barely closing the door (not latched at all) and no warning at all!I asked Mercedes Customer Service and my dealer and they both confirmed the door open warning is speed sensitive and only alarms/displays after the car is in motion, traveling at least 6-7MPH. I checked and they are correct. All other cars I have owned gave an indication (usually visually and audible) either prior to, or the moment the car was put into drive. Seems like obvious safety oversight? Did not expect this from Mercedes. Obvious Safety Flaw. Why hasnt NHTSA caught this yet???

I took my car for maintenance where the only reason I went there is because the gentleman that sold me my cars I think is great, plus has great customer service. I pay for the maintenance package for my car. There were three items I had concerns with. The location kept my car there for two days and I am still not happy with the navigation system that shut down and was not working. Even after service I had to use my phone for navigation. My main concern was my tire and the guys from service said dont worry I will have that taken care of for you. I left feeling great thinking my car will be fixed. Navigation again not happy with but my tire was left as it is with more a lot of excessive air. Dangerous to even drive. I called corporate customer service. Was horrible and not comfortable to speak with. The case worker called me and it was a waste of my time. Hold is too long. Getting in touch with anyone in corporate is easy. Also, I called back asking to speak with someone else even asked for the General Manager and they said Ralph ** does not accept calls from customers? That was not customer service orientated at all. When I should not even pay a 200 tire it should have been replaced when its a tire leak. That is a bad tire which is not my fault. I was shocked on the customer service. Never had I had such horrible experience. One thing is that I would never buy another Mercedes ever again. That is only what I drive and would be the only car I drive, however they will lose a repeat loyal customer with this pity low class service. The case manager Justin did not even try to assist when I was not pleased with the situation, and they told me he doesnt report to anyone? That is false information and every customer has the right to speak with some else. They send me off with a defective bad tire which is not safe to commute in.

I have a 2007 ML 350 which I had purchased new. The car now has 117,000 miles on the odometer. For the past seven years it has been a great vehicle and the only problem I had was with a window lift on the passenger side. There were always little things like light bulbs, but nothing that was mechanical and needed fixing until this past week. The check engine light came on and when I brought the car in it was diagnosed to be a relay for the fuel injection system. A reasonable $211 fix. The next day the light came on again. Brought the car in again and it was diagnosed that there was a blockage in the air pump system for the admissions. I was quoted a $5,600 repair job. They have to tear the engine down to find the blockage.I was told by my service advisor that this shows up at about 115-120,000 miles. It is caused by carbon build-up. I maintain my car as per factory specs so it is not a lack of maintenance that caused this. In my estimation there may be a design flaw in the emissions system. Since the car is out of warranty the dealer cannot do anything for me to correct this. When I contacted Mercedes they said that because of the age of the car and the mileage they cannot or wont do anything for me. They wont even split the bill with me. However, they would give a $3,000 incentive to buy a new car. In the the meantime, my car has been rendered worthless. I cannot trade the car nor sell it with the check engine light lit up. I am at a loss on where to go from here. Any ideas?

I called the head office to make a complaint about the disappointing service and treatment I received from the Brentford Mercedes body-shop. Basically I was not happy with the feedback I received. The reason for this is the original estimate had been completely changed; instead, I felt the body-shop was cutting corners at my expense to satisfy the insurance engineers. I was now getting second rate job done on my car that could also depreciate the value on my four-and-a-half-year-old car. I was involved in an accident, but I was not at fault; however, both I and the other driver both have the same insurers. The only difference is that I recently did not renew with them. I am insured with another firm. My problem with Brentford turned into a complaint. However, when I called their head office in Milton Keynes, I was left reeling because they were on the immediate defense making me out to be a trouble-maker and even tried passing the buck. I was spoken down to at the point that I didnt know if this was for real or a blood joke. There was no customer satisfaction. I felt my complaint was dismissed and no investigation was going to take place. I wish I had never bought from them and never will again. My advice to anyone is if you do buy a Mercedes or smart car, dont expect the excellent service because there isnt such a thing. And if you ever have a complaint, be aware that the head office’s customer service team is like the Mafia. If there is anyone out there who had the same experience, I would love feedback on where to go to get heard.

Living a relative short time with a 2001 E430 was a disaster. The troubles started at only 4,000 miles. Massive electrical issues such as A/C, window, seats, Bose stereo, instrument cluster digits going blank, numerous check engine lights, ABS failure, traction control failure, speed sensor failure and constant Hella headlight issues. Despite repairs made under warranty, I found myself at the dealer at least once a month. There were more than several mechanical issues as well such as engine mounts, V8 running on 4 cylinders only, and many many more. I sold the car at a loss, but I am very glad I did. If you pay $70,000 or less or more, you should expect quality. Mercedes Benz obviously isnt concerned about quality. Motor Werks dealer in Chicago is careless. This was my third nightmare with a Mercedes-Benz product, and the very LAST. I have gone onto Lexus with absolutely ZERO quality and reliability issues-ZERO. Lexus customer service is impressive.

WORTHLESS 2019 Mercedes Benz C300. Purchased a brand new 2019 Mercedes Benz at the end of July 2019 with only 20 miles. The car stopped accelerating and was towed to the dealership Oct. 4 2019. The fuel pump was replaced, there were loose bolts/wires, the trunk latch was fixed and for some reason they replaced the charge air cooler which had nothing to do with the original issue. Picked my car up around 4:30pm October 10th, drove it 40 minutes home and the Low Coolant Warning light comes on. Immediately notified the dealership and my car was towed BACK to the dealership around 8am October 11th. They first stated that I needed a new water pump but then said that there were wires loose in the dashboard so they removed the dash and fixed it.While my car was in the care of the dealership about 60 miles were added onto my leased car and they ran over a nail. So my tire had to be replaced also. Finally received my car back around 4:30pm after work on October 16th, drove 30 minutes and the low coolant light popped on yet again. Immediately notified the tech and he stated that someone will pick my car up Friday October 18th. No one came to pick up my car and now I have an scheduled appointment for Tuesday October 21st. During this time, I have spoken to the managers at the dealership which directed me to file a complaint with Mercedes Benz and I did.I spoke to two customer reps which the first rep named Jack hung up on me. The second rep escalated my call to a manager named Roman whom said he would call me back but never did. It’s ridiculous that I am held to paying my money for a car that I have not had for three months on top of the fact that it’s been out of my possession for most of the month of October, added mileage that I will never get back on a leased car and continuous problems on a NEW 2019 Mercedes Benz.

I drive a 2011 Mercedes Benz E350. The extended warranty is expired but it only has 89,000 kms on it. First issue, the air conditioning gives me heat instead of cold air. I had sensors to replace after checking warning light codes. The main issue Im having with Mercedes is there is a tear in the leatherette seats in the drivers side. The car has only 89,000 km. I can understand the other issues and how I would be out of pocket, but I would expect a much higher quality standard for an $80,000 dollar car. I had assumed the seats were made out of real leather and would be stitched properly. This issue I expected Mercedes to resolve. However, after many attempts the best they offered was to pay for half the material (about 25% of the total cost). Mercedes is not the quality of vehicle that their image portrays. I would not buy another one in the future, back to BMW for my next vehicle.

I purchased my C280 with 7 miles on it. It was the car of my dreams and my very first new car. To make a long story short, five years after purchase and a lot of money invested in maintenance and repairs and no warranty, Ive been told that I need to replace the camshaft plugs, sensor, adjuster, balance shaft, engine mounts, transmission mounts, timing chain and seals. Not to mention, both door handles broke off a few months ago (and to think I blamed my children). Whats worse, the mechanic added that those problems are common problem in C class vehicles from years 2006 to beginning 2008. Basically, the Mercedes Benz company is aware that this problem occurs in their vehicles due to a plastic camshaft that was previously used. Why wasnt I told this while I was still under warranty? Why werent the parts ever recalled? I am so hurt because I cant afford the $5,500 repair on my dream car! The quality I always thought accompanied the luxury of Mercedes Benz is a joke and I cant begin to express my disappointment.

My 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350 was diagnosed with a balance shaft problem at another shop. I brought it back to Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge to check and make sure the diagnosis was correct. The service manager Dan notified me that I did have the problem and that it would cost approximately $6,000.00.I had been talking to MB USA about some type of assistance. MB USA notified MB of BR and promised to pay 50% of the bill. I only had $2,000.00 which I told Dan. I went and borrowed $1,000.00 to repair my truck. MB of BR kept my vehicle about three weeks. I was called by Dan on Wednesday, August 10, to tell me that my vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. I arrived at the dealership at approximately 5:45 p.m. I paid for the vehicle and drove it to Prairieville, LA, approximately 30 minutes away from the dealership. I went shopping at Walmart. I cranked my vehicle at 7:05 p.m. I heard a loud noise and the car cut off. I restarted and I had plenty of codes on the screen. I immediately called MB of BR at 7:09 p.m. and left a voice message about my vehicle. I returned the vehicle to MB of BR the next day. I was notified yesterday, August 16, 2010, that several sensors had gone out and it had nothing to do with the repair work that they completed on my balance shaft. I was quoted $1,700.00 to fix this problem. I only drove the car for 30 minutes, approximately 20 miles, and my car broke down. I was never notified about any other issues with the engine; however, I was made aware about some routine maintenance such as new tires, brake pads, and a shock. I have tried to talk to the owner, Joe, the service manager, Dan and Bryan, who is over at the repair area. I also talked to Gwen and Margie. Bryan told me that I told Dan to only fix the balance shaft problem. Dan and I disclaimed that statement. I never told anyone at MB of BR to only work on the balance shaft problem. I never knew anything about other problems and was not given that information. When I left MB of BR, my vehicle was clear of any errors. Bryan claims that he even drove my vehicle approximately 70 miles and he did not get any codes; however, within 20 miles of me driving it, it broke down. They disconnected the electrical system and removed the motor, and MB of BR is telling me that the new problem did not stem from them working on the vehicle for three weeks.

I was a loyal owner of Mercedes Benz (two cars in the past four years). My most recent purchase is the C350 Sport. It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.

I wanted to post this to hopefully let potential customers know what to ask their dealership when thinking of purchasing a GLC 300. I apologize for the long length, but, think it will give some insight into the possible multiple problems. Keep reading: My wife and I purchased a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4Matic in March of 2016 - - our first and only Mercedes. Within 6 months of purchase, the brakes starting to emit an ear piercing squealing when in reverse. We contacted the dealership and were told that there was a design problem with the brake pads and new parts were being worked on.In the interim, the brakes started squealing in forward as well. We waited from September, 2016 until the beginning of 2017 before new pads were put on. Later in the year we began to hear tire noise inside the vehicle. We had a second maintenance service scheduled and done on December 9, 2017 and informed the dealership of the tire noise. After their investigation, we were told that we needed to purchase new tires, although, the mileage on the tires was at 18,935 miles. The Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires on the vehicle are rated for 65,000 miles. At the same time, we also experienced a clicking noise near the drivers door. The explanation for this was noise coming from the high pressure fuel pump. Not sure why we didnt hear the same noise when the vehicle was brand new. Also, the brake squealing also started again. We were informed, after having to ask, that Mercedes was working on yet another fix, but, parts were not yet available. We are still waiting for the new brake parts. This was just a prelude to what was coming. On January 4, 2018 my wife was driving home from work. The vehicle began to shake, sputter, and she could not get the vehicle to accelerate. By the time she reached home, 8 miles, the car was smoking profusely. After contacting the dealership, the car had to be towed. We were contacted the next day, January 5, by the Service Manager. We were told that a call was placed to the engineers in Germany because this had never happened before, even though there are several posts on various internet sites that dispute that statement.Due to the dealership not having a loaner vehicle available, we had to rent a car from January 5 until January 15 this was reimbursed by Mercedes. On January 15 we did receive a loaner vehicle from the dealership. On January 24 a call from the dealership informed us that the torque converter had gone bad and needed to be replaced. The mileage on the vehicle at this time was approximately 19,500 miles. Finally, on January 30 we received a call indicating our vehicle would be ready on Thursday, February 1. We met with the Service Manager upon arrival at the dealership and reviewed all the issues we experienced with the vehicle up to that point. We then began driving back home. When we were about 20 miles from home, a check oil level indicator message appeared on the instrument panel. When we arrived home, I checked the oil level and found that it barely registering on the dipstick. We were instructed to have the vehicle towed back to the dealership. They started looking at the vehicle on Monday, February 5. They called and informed us that the oil had not been touched in any way during the torque converter work, but, they needed more time to determine where the oil was going. They will continue to investigate as of tomorrow, February 3.

Mercedes will not take any responsibility for either manufacturing defect, poor workmanship or incomplete work. I’m trying now to get Mercedes Benz to stop washing their hands and blaming the consumer(s) on a clearly manufacturing problem. If anyone has had the same issues with their vehicle, please let me know. This GLE43 AMG is a lemon!!!

Has been very good with no repairs in 4 years. It is good on fuel for such averaging about 20 miles to imperial gallon in town and 32 hwy. We will see how reliable it is in the future as the warranty is over and instead of getting the further 3 year warranty I decided to take a chance and see how the repair history will be. So far only oil changes, brakes, and gas. None of which would be covered under warranty.

My E500 4Matic car does not run and the MB dealership wants me to pay 7500$ for a temporary fix. When I purchased it NEW it immediately went bad... I have paid over 12,000$ for the same issues and now I find out there was a class action suit against MB.. What I have been trying to get here in Florida is an attorney to start one.

We bought a 2020 GLE 450 over a month ago. The dealership experience from the beginning has been nothing short of a nightmare. The salesman was pushy and rushed us to make a decision based on other customers arriving in one hour to buy the vehicle out from under us. Once we decided to buy the vehicle the Mercedes Concierge was unavailable to ensure all features were operational prior to our taking possession. The salesman muddled his way through the features. When we left the AI was not fully functional but we were assured that “it just needed to finish loading”. Well, that couldn’t have been further from the truth! The vehicle has been in the shop at a different (much better) Mercedes service department for over three weeks now. We finally found out that we need a whole new command unit that has to ship directly from Germany! We’ve been told it may be another month or more until we get our vehicle fixed. The service department told us that it appears that the Walnut Creek dealership KNEW the AI was not functioning when we bought it because it had been reset 4 days prior to our purchase!!The other issue has to do with our trade-in. The Walnut Creek dealership mailed the pay off for our trade in to the wrong place! The check has been lost for three weeks and each time I inquire I get a different story about what happened and where the check went. This seems borderline criminal! We have contacted Corporate on two separate occasions with no resolve and at this point the only help or communications we are receiving is from the current service department.

I am a successful business person who feels like he has been really screwed over by the hype of Mercedes Benz and their gouging dealers. My 2000 S-500 has been a real piece of ** and now the trade in value is less than a cheap Nissan. I purchased this piece of junk in 2003 with 37,000 miles and have had over $40,000 worth of factory repairs under the original MB warranty and with the extended warranty. And yet, still this hunk of junk continues to break down. Now that this overpriced status symbol is almost worthless. I have learned my lesson. Mercedes Benz and all of your snooty dealers can eat my shorts. I will never purchase any more of these quality cars again. Keep your overpriced garbage!!!

Ive just purchased a 2012 ML350. Though the ride and the overall quality of the vehicle is nice, the door lock on the passenger door came defective. Weve had to wait over a week to get the part to fix the problem, but the auto-lock function does not work. A company like MB cant even get a simple thing like the door lock. Its going to be serviced again, which my car will be in service more days then driven. This ruins the new car buying experience. I bought the car through Dez at Long Beach MB. I had the service done at House of Imports in Buena Park, CA. Not only I had to wait over ten days for the part to arrive, when it arrived some parts were missing, so I had to wait over the weekend and then some to get my car back. When everything is thought to be fixed, it wasnt. The consequence of this defective part and questionable workmanship is having the new car buying experience ruined and it ruined the image of MB. This is my third MB, and this is not something that happens to supposedly one of the most luxurious brands in the world. ML may not be their best car, but it may well be their most important vehicle this year. I cant understand how this could happen to a MB vehicle. Id understand if it was made in China like vehicles.

Loved the comfort, the handling, the speed and of course the luxury of a Mercedes Benz SL500. The convertible was spacious even with a retractable top. The seats were very comfortable and the interior actually suited passengers and drivers of all shapes and sizes comfortably. I loved the safety features but I also loved that many were intrigued enough to learn more about the car and the comfort of the ride. However, I dislike the sticker price. But I enjoyed the driving experience. I was confident at every moment that I would have a safe ride, yet sporty and fast. It was a bucket list dream come true item to check off!

E500 2005 40k miles. Routine check up as MB suggested! Problem: oil/fluid leaked on garage floor with a big spot (a lot of fluid). 4/19/2016 drop off the car for MB dealer service. 4/22/2016 they sent me a report about the leaking oil/fluid. Reason: The fluid leak appears to be coming from the transmission pan/13 electrical connector. The repair would be similar to a transmission service. Open transmission pan, replace filter, gasket, electrical connector and torque and clean area of leak. $758 VIP discount = $658 + tax.I called and emailed MB customer service to help about this situation. I believe they stand behind their products. They called me back to let me know that it is out of warranty even the car is 40k and take a good care. They can not do anything. I found out she never talked to the service dealer to find the issues of the car. Bad customer service, irresponsible! She needs to understand the issues before she talked to me but Nope! This really bad customer service and bad products too. I hope MB get this message and talk to her about how to solve the problem!!! My car is still at Fletcher Jones of Fremont 5760 Cushing Parkway, Fremont Ca 94538.

There is a manufacturer defect at 57,700 miles. Premature failure of the balance shaft gear due to manufactured with poorly hardened metal. Mercedes Benz refused any help whatsoever for the $5,000 to $7,000 repair. If you own a 2003-2010 Mercedes Benz, better start saving your money up for the repair bill! January 30, 2014 I leased a 2014 C300 from Mercedes Benz of West Bloomfield in Michigan. Upon arrival while picking up my new lease I was advised that my car has been hit and damaged and I would not be able to pick the car up. I waited almost 2 weeks because the paint was being shipped from another country. After that I picked up my car and had no problems with it until June of that year. My first attempt of turning on my AC for the summer was a failure. The AC was not working on my brand new Benz. I took it in for service 5 times for the same issue and every time they assured me that the problem was solved only for it to happen again. Yesterday July 27, 2014 I was driving on the highway going 70 mph, 2 miles before my exit I decide to get off the highway, and thank God I did or else I wouldnt be writing this right now. As soon as I got off the highway my car went from 50 to zero in a matter of seconds.Thankfully I got off when I did or I would have died on that highway or I could have killed someone. Still in a panic I called my dealership and explained what had happened, they told me to contact roadside assistance and have the car towed there and that a loaner car was waiting for me. And so I made the call, I waited for them for an hour. My car could not turn on and it was 95 degrees outside. Finally when the gentleman arrived he loaded my car and we started driving. He then informed me that my car was going to the Novi location which was 30 mins away from where I was now. I explained that my car is to be towed to West Bloomfield, the driver stated that he could lose his job if he did not drive to Novi. I called roadside assistance and they spoke to the driver and told him to turn the truck around and take me to West Bloomfield, he did not listen. We finally made it to Novi, Im beyond furious at this point. The representative at the desk said, I dont have a loaner car for you, and the earliest we could look at your car would be next week. After an argument between myself, the tow guy and Novi dealership I got back into the truck and drove 1 hour in the opposite direction back to Bloomfield Hills. Upon arrival my loaner car was ready. I was then on my way. I then called corporate and advised them of what had happened. I also told them that I no longer feel safe in my car and I either want my lease terminated or to be put in a new car. Today they called me saying it was a computer problem (the whole computer burned out) and once they change the computer my car will be running fine again. I refuse to drive that car, Im waiting on a call from corporate. In conclusion, Mercedes Benz sucks!!!

I recently (Nov 2014) traded in my C-300 (2012) for the new C-300 (2015) at the London dealership. After a few weeks my daughter complained that her door (left passenger door) would not close properly. We unfortunately ignored her and continued driving the vehicle. Later in January, whilst driving with my family the rear door alarm came on, in a panic I asked my daughter to hold the door while I parked in the emergency lane. On inspection I noticed the door handle awkwardly open, even with constant pushing the door would not close!I took the car into the London dealership where the car was inspected (I also pointed out other quality concerns which I still feel have not been addressed). Later in the evening I was told, We have checked the back door and oiled the mechanism/door lock and this should fix the problem. On my further instance I was told the whole door locking system would be replaced as a precaution until then I could drive my car as it was safe to do so. Happy that qualified Mercedes Benz technical staff had given me a green light to drive without fear of safety concerns I returned home. One week after, the same incident repeated itself with my family in the car! I called the team at service adviser and informed him of the incident. I expected to hear something reassuring but was told the parts were on backorder, I will get back to you tomorrow on how we can solve this for you. As Mercedes Benz, I would expect a much higher standard of product quality and customer care, both of which are absent. Does Mercedes Benz not care about serious safety concerns on their cars? I fear not only for my safety but the safety of other families that may experience this or worse. Please live up to the promise you make to your customers.

First off, Ive always been an advocate for Mercedes Benz having owned 2015 c class, but I have to say Im utterly disappointed with the recent service by Benz hence the 2 star which should be a 1. Im currently driving a 2019 A220 sedan which if it drives normally, is an absolute breeze. Unfortunately, Ive not had that pleasure of driving without a problem. From inherent breakdowns, to various warning lights turning on. There was a recent recall for this vehicle, mind you, but after the recall I’ve had countless visits to the MB repair shop, Im still having the same issues. My mileage is just 16,000. I am truly sad right now and feel let down by MB. I would surely reconsider my commitment to your brand.

A year ago I purchased my first Mercedes, a 2010 Mercedes Benz, GLK350. My first foreign car. The car has been driven less than 3500 miles by me. I get into the car over a week ago and the light comes on in the dash (Frontal SRS/airbag). The car will not start. The AAA service came and tried to jump me, with no success in getting the car started. He tested the battery and replied and showed me that my battery was great. Your mechanic looked at the car, after I had it towed to your dealership) and Chris informed me that the battery was no good. (The mechanic stated he could not see what was wrong until I purchased the battery.) And wanted to charge me $500.00. We all know, with common sense, that comment was incorrect.I’ve always known, if I bought a foreign car, I had to know my rights and become very knowledgeable of the Model/Make. So I maintain counsel. I remembered the recall of the airbag and airbag sensor. I noticed the rear taillight not working (A possible symptom due to faulty pyro-fuse.) If the car has a pyro-fuse and this fuse is not properly working, there is no way to start the car. It is not difficult to change the pyro-fuse but the SRS system might need a reset. Also if the issue was at the pre-fuse box. The frontal module has harmed other electrical parts on my car and need replacement. Chris informed me that the problem was possibly the pre-fuse box and it needed to be replaced and my total cost is $1300-1400. He also stated that they were not sure that the pre-fuse was my problem. There could be other issues, but I must pay for the box first before they could find out definitely. I informed him of the recall and he stated the recalls had nothing to do with the pre-fuse box. I requested that he at least repair the recall items. The parts of the recall, he states, are pending. So I find people have died because of this recall, per legal counsel, including the defected rear tail light. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.I AM REQUESTING THE FOLLOWING: For this service expense to be applied to either recall or manufacturer including the battery cost and replacement. Whatever sensor is faulty, the battery was drained. Return my old battery and the pre-fuse box. Make arrangements for a loaner until recall parts are in and replaced Hire employees who are professionally experienced, compassionate, knowledgeable, honest and not greedy to take extra money home to care for his family (per the attendant). If one possesses the traits requested, his sales will increase tremendously.

I own a 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320 truck. On 13 Aug 2011, a 20-feet wooden telephone pole was lying on a badly-lit street in the middle of the night. No one knows how it got there. Driving 45 miles per hour, (speed limit is 45 mph) I hit it with the front of my car. Then the pole went under my bumper resulting into a broken steering column and a bent car frame. My air bags, however, did not deploy. When I asked Mercedes why the bags did not open, they said that it only opens when hit in certain spots. In the end, my car was totaled by the insurance company.

I have a Benz E350 2006. I just had a new transmission put in at over $6,000.00...... My check engine light then went on of which I was told it was the balance shift gears. (Mercedes-Benz currently has a class action lawsuit complaint filed for this issue for some of their cars with this problem as well as faulty engines & idle gears..... CONSUMERS... check this out... Do your research! I will be joining the class action lawsuit when I get my car back.) It was then going to cost me $5,500.00 by a Mercedes Benz dealership to replace the Balance Shift gears.... I also had an auxiliary battery replaced AND 2 cam sensors to see if the check engine light would go off.... It did not. I now have to replace the Balance Shift gears so my car will pass emissions inspection. The Mercedes Benz car I own, based on my experiences, IS NOT worth buying. Towards the end of May 2013, I went to Mercedes Benz in Durban Old Fort Road. I wanted to book my car (2003 - S320 CDI) for minor repair and service. The service adviser Zain ** spoke to me and explained that the workshop is busy and that I should return on the 5th of June 2013. I explained to him that receptionist (the lady that does the booking) said that there was space for my vehicle. Zain insisted that I return on the 5th of June and so I obliged. On the 31st May 2013 I took my car for steam cleaning and body wash.On the 5th of June 2013, I returned to Mercedes Benz Durban to have my car repaired and serviced. I was attended to again by Zain. I explained to him that I was unhappy with the way my car was idling; it was idling rougher and louder than normal. There was also a small rattling noise in the engine compartment when listened to with a technical ear; I myself am a diesel technician by profession though I am retired. I told him about the car having a lack of power on takeoff points and smoking when going up hills. I also mentioned that he should attend to the fault that they had diagnosed in August 3-8 2012. Zain, the service adviser, started the car and tried to listen to the noises I had complained about. He said he did not hear any noise, and asked me where am I hearing the noise. I said that the noise he is hearing is exactly what I am complaining about. He insisted that there was no abnormality. At this point I had to tell him that this is my car and it is an S Class. It does not sound like this normally. He then wrote on the job card, Rattling noise in the engine, in a way that showed that he was not taking my complaint seriously. I then told him that the noise is not inside the engine but in the the engine compartment. He then asked me to relax, the technician will diagnose the fault; I must just sign the job card. I signed the job card and left in hope that all the issues that I had raised would be dealt with.A week later I received a call from Zain. He told me that they had diagnosed the problem that was giving me concern. He said that the EGR Valve needed to be replaced and that it is the cause of the idling abnormality I had noticed and it also causes lack of power on takeoff points and smoking when going up hills. I was happy with the response he had given me and asked him if my insurance would be able to replace that for me. He told me that he had already spoken to my insurance company and they said that they only repair the engine not anything outside the engine. I told him that it was fine, he should go ahead and have my car fixed at my expense. Two weeks later I received a call from Zain. This time he called to tell me that my cars engine had packed up while parked at the car park after the EGR Valve had been replaced and the car was left and ready for collection. They said I should come and have a look at it. When I got there, the car was on the ramp, the sump was off and smashed and one bearing cap was left on the floor. Rian, the Group Leader, accused me of having the car fixed before it came to Mercedes Benz in Durban because it was very clean underneath the car and he also suspected that it had been in an accident. I told him that I had never been in an accident and my car has never been fixed since the last time I had brought it in August 2012. I told him that my car was clean because it was steam cleaned on the 31st on May, Just before it came to them. I asked him why the sump was open; he said the assessor asked him to have it opened. He further told me that they have found 3 main bearing caps loose in the engine. I asked him if the checking of loose bearings was also an instruction from the assessor. He didnt respond to that question. He only said that the person who was working on the engine forgot to torque it properly. I asked him how was it possible for my car to travel 95,000 km with loose bearing bolts? He then said he wanted proof that my car was steam cleaned underneath. I then went to the service manager, Gerald, and told him that I dont understand how it is possible for the car to smash its engine while parked in the car park with the key not in the ignition. For me with my technical background, it sounded impossible. I also mentioned to him that Rian had made very serious accusations and that those accusations can lead to very serious consequences. I asked him to please do a full internal investigation in order to find out what really happened to my car.A few days later, I received a call from a person who told me that he is the service foreman. He said that the Dealer principal was not prepared to take full responsibility for my car though it was damaged in his premises and he didnt give any reason as to why that was so. He also said that if I want to discuss anything regarding my car I should speak to Zain, the service adviser. He then hung up the phone. This was very stressful for me and I thought that maybe they wanted to see proof that my car was indeed steam cleaned underneath. So I went to the car wash where my car was steam cleaned and they gave me a copy of the receipt. I took this receipt to Zain, the service adviser, and he took it and told me that he would pass it on to management. Seeing that everything had come to a standstill at Mercedes and management was now unwilling to help uncover the truth about my car I remembered that Rain had told me that my cars EGR Valve was replaced by an elderly black man. If I am not mistaken his name is Enock. I found out from other workers that, that man is unqualified, was not supposed to have worked on my car. I confronted management about this and requested a full report from every person who was involved with my car while in their premises before it was reported damaged. I also requested a report from the person who physically removed and replaced the EGR Valve. I never received a response regarding those requests.I heard that Enock, the mechanic who removed and replace the EGR Valve in my car, was taken in for cross examination by management but none of the findings of this were shared with me. I also heard that the workers were threatened that if they shared any information with me that they would be fired. So whenever I go to Mercedes Benz, everybody who is an employee at the workshop avoids me even though I am a customer there. I have phoned the service manager on numerous occasions and I have left messages for him but he did not respond to any of those calls. I then wrote a letter to him. In this letter I expressed that I have been trying to get a hold of him unsuccessfully for the whole week. I have since written three letters to them and have only received a letter from their lawyers as a response to my letters. I have enclosed all my correspondence with Mercedes Benz Durban.I am frustrated with the service that I have received from Mercedes Benz Durban and its management team. It has very little regard for its customers. It is not the first time that I have received terrible service from them. Last year when I sent my car in, in August 3-8 2012, I reported to them that the Mercedes Benz tool kit that is standard in the car as well as the pay as you driver device is now missing from my car and that the insurance company has tracked the device as last being operational in their premises during the period that it was with them. I was told that they do not know what I was talking about and no investigation was conducted even though I gave Zain proof of this from my insurance company (Please contact me for more information regarding this)I would really appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and for this issue regarding my car to be resolved quickly and amicably because I am now without a car and as a result I am very stressed.

Both have the known issue of the horrible vinegar, mildew smell that comes out of the AC every single time you turn it on. There was a class action lawsuit that required them to fix this issue, but they find loopholes and of course their technicians cannot explain why my car isnt covered, even though my VIN clearly shows that it should be covered. After Dec 2020 you were supposed to be able to go into a dealership and have the problem fixed.I took my car to the dealership in Pleasanton, CA, the service coordinator confirmed the smell immediately. After looking at the car she called to say the tech also identified immediately but then went on to say it wasnt covered... but couldnt explain why. After she had told me that they had in fact fixed several vehicles with the same issue a few months prior... my EXACT model and year.I contact Mercedes Benz USA. After reviewing my complaint they offered a goodwill credit of $300... towards a $613 repair. They said they considered customer loyal, the age of the car, service, etc. So Im not sure why I didnt fall under that umbrella... Ive had 2 MBs, I sent over all service records, my car only has 50k miles... and I worked for Mercedes in my 20s in the SERVICE department filing claims. I am the definition of customer loyalty. This is just a slap in the face. It took me over 20 years to finally buy my first Mercedes (I had wanted one since working at the dealership) and its an accomplishment, I should be proud of my vehicle. But Im embarrassed to have people ride in it. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle and it smells rancid.I am so disappointed that they would rather lose a customer and their reputation over a few hundred dollars. They clearly do not stand by their product or their customer service relationships. I would completely understand if this was just MY car but it affected over 2 million cars and covered 3 years... I ended up with 2 of them and I cant even get one of them fixed. Needless to say Im done, its just the principle of bad business, I dont believe in it. I support those that support me. I feel cheated.

We purchased a new GLS 550 SUV in 2017 to replace our 2004 Toyota Sequoia with over 200,000 miles. The Mercedes has been a disappointment from day 1. Terrible handling in rain and snow. The ride is stiff and uncomfortable. Expect to pay over $2,000 for tires every 20,000 miles. Simple oil change and service will set you back several hundred. We could never get the radio/nav to consistently work in spite of numerous trips to dealership. The best part is we leased this vehicle in 2017 and the lease expires soon. We are under our mileage since we continue to use the old Toyota Sequoia as it is more comfortable. We actually plan on paying the remaining 2 months on the lease and returning vehicle early since it only takes up space in the garage. Our next purchase will be another Toyota.

I have a 2010 C300 MB and the driver seat tore at the seam. It tore at about 65,000 miles. I didnt report it until over 100,000 miles. I guess supposedly that was my biggest fault but quite frankly now I dont even believe they would have done anything about it back then. The seat is made cheaply from low quality fake leather... even if it did tear at 100,000 that is not ok either. I have had many lesser brand name cars with many more miles than this and I can say not once has a driver seat seem given away. I would only see this issue for a fraction of a second as I entered the car to sit down... out of sight out of mind. (My bad!!?) That being said I am just warning people not to buy the C300 series due to poor quality seats... poor quality that the MB USA wont even stand up for when it fails prematurely... unless you think a seat failing at 65 or even 100k miles isnt premature. The passenger seat motor also failed which I didnt complain about and had to pay to replace myself. I didnt want to pay again for another sub par piece of equipment so I reached out to MB and got no assistance. Even after going by the dealer they supposedly talked to MB USA and they refused to help I was told. After calling MB USA they had no record of me going to the dealership with this issue. Shocking! Very very poor customer service and basically standing up to do the correct thing. I have driven BMWs the past 25 years. It looks like I am going back to a BMW!!! They just made my decision easy!! Maybe BMW would have said the same thing I do not know, but I drove many for the past 25 years with more miles on them than this MB and funny enough I never had to call BMW (or Ford or GMC) to ask them to fix it BECAUSE IT NEVER TORE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I have to admit I always put MB sort of on a pedestal but this experience surely brought them crashing down to earth!!! And they have landed in a ditch!!! Btw, I am now also driving around in a car that MB told me could kill me because of a faulty air bag, but they cant replace it yet... keep on driving it... Sounds like a great idea too!! Not!

Ive never had a worse telemarketing experience in my *life*. I received a letter from Mercedes mbrace saying my complimentary trial period for mbrace secure service would convert to a billed service (as Id expected) and I could call them to cancel that, so I did. After some of the usual Q&A, I told the guy to cancel it. He told me how great it is. I told him to cancel it. He told me how great it is again. After this went on a few more times I started saying just cancel it while he was still selling. He said I needed to hear why it was so great (not his words). This went on a few more times and I switched to say I want to speak to your manager. We went around with this a few more times while he continued to sell and I continued request his manager. Finally I told him one more time to cancel it and hung up.Then I called the number again, talked to a different agent, told him I wanted to talk to his supervisor regarding the other, rude agent. After a while a supervisor came on the line, sounded nice, but then told me I cant cancel the account until within 30 days before the trial period lapsed. The letter I received said nothing about this, and after a bit the guy said he could do it today (apparently a favor) -- but only after he tried to sell me some more! Of course he didnt phrase the sales pitch that way, he called it a reading a disclaimer. I tried a few more times to instruct him to cancel the service without effect, so hung up again. I don’t think I’m under any obligation to hear a sales pitch after I’ve given clear instructions – many times! This is not what we expected when we bought a Mercedes.
