Paid a lot of $$$$ for this car, $50000. Ive been driving a Hyundai Sonata 2011 Turbo, has 125000 on it, great car. Looking to buy another Sonata but 2018 models arent as fast as my 2011. Went for a drive, not even close, what happen? The Genesis was in showroom floor. Took for a drive, Wow, the car floats on the pavement. 3 driving modes, sound system you better wear earplugs. Comfort, outrageous. Noise from outside what noise. Looks beautiful. If you never seen the Genesis Emblem you would not know what kind of car this is. Kudos to Hyundai. Awesome car.
I moved to Florida and called HYUNDAI title and registration dept so they could fax the paperwork and they agreed. So I went back to the FL DMV to check on and they said had never received any registration paperwork from Hyundai!!! So a week later I called Hyundai TITLE REGISTRATION - again they agreed. I called the Florida DMV. The DMV - nothing had been SENT!!! One more thing, FLORIDA IS ONE those states where they don’t accept OTHER STATES REGISTRATION.
I was rear ended and I hit a light pole. I knocked down this pole and my truck was total. I was concern that my air bag did not come out. I drive a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. I was concern why my airbag did not protect me that I research safety of the truck and found out there are recall on my truck and I was not informed. I have not move so I should have received a notice.
I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Tuttle Click Dodge in Tustin. There they had a sticker posted with 39 hwy mph. My car gets no more than 24 mph on the freeway going 65 steady in the right lane with Chevron gas. I have taken it to 5 different Hyundai dealers complaining about the issue almost right away. They all shrugged their shoulders and told me they couldnt find a problem. That the digital eco meter is a dummy gauge and doesnt give accurate numbers. Then why do they match my manual calculations? Finally after I showed them the website where I found out about the class action lawsuit did they admit... oh ya your car does have a mileage problem. Oh ya... we already lost the lawsuit. We will waste a ton of your time, and then say sorry you are not original owner and therefore not eligible for gas reimbursement! Today I took my horrible Hyundai to the dealer and they gave it back to me with a huge scratch on the door. Also, my newish Hyundai with only 20,000 miles makes a ton of noises and the check engine light came on.
I purchased a Hyundai i20 Magna from Joshi Automobiles Mohali Punjab. At the time of delivery, several things were not provided to me though they said they’ll deliver it to me within few days. Even when I got my car insured from Joshi Showroom twice, every time, the insurance policy was sent after 6 months. Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.
Recently I was informed by my local Hyundai dealership that the battery on my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid needed replaced. Not the hybrid battery. I was told it was $312.00 for the battery through the dealership. I said thanks but Ill go elsewhere. After 3 weeks of looking and calling around Ive been informed that the battery can only be purchased from a dealer. I decided to call Hyundai customer service to find out why. There is no reason other than, Because thats the way it is and because we can. What?? Really??That is how the conversation went. I asked to speak to someone who could answer me why and was told that, Everyone else will give you the same answer, the way it is and because we can. What kind of crazy monopoly is this. Any other year Sonata battery can be purchased elsewhere. They are unwilling to explain why, they are unwilling to require the dealership to sell the part at a reasonable price, nothing. No help, no explanation, no concern or consideration. I have really liked owning my Hyundai until now. I recently paid it off and now its having issues creep up that require attention only at the dealership. Interesting, frustrating and suspicious. Might very well be the last Hyundai I ever own.
With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.
2012 Hyundai Tucson. Bought my Hyundai late in 2012. My car has 86,000 miles on it (I commute for work) and the motor is shot. No noise. No lights. No warnings at all. I was traveling and engine light came on and thirty SECONDS later I was on the side of the road. I have had to argue through all of this with the dealer and Hyundai in order for my car to be repaired. I have (thankfully) kept all maintenance records through my mechanic. Needs new motor and there are none available because Sonatas were all recalled for the engine design issue. Same issue as the design flaw in mine but Hyundai gambled with lives and warranty that the engines wouldnt go until after warrantys were up. This has been a nightmare!!! They are telling me it is going to be 8 plus weeks before my vehicle is repaired. In the meantime the dealer has given a loaner car that is NOT comparable to my vehicle what so ever and it is the Sonata you know the one that has been recalled for motor!! Are you kidding me. Husband and I are speaking to a lawyer... Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!
I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work.When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.
I have had issues with the transmission not shifting properly when pressing on the accelerator. I have taken it back to the dealership several times and am always told that it is their new transmission and is normal. Finally, they said they had a reset they could do for it, this seemed to help for about a week. After this things got worse, it not only went back to the chugging with the transmission but also lost power when accelerating from a stopped position (like turning in front of oncoming traffic). I would pump the accelerator for it to finally go. I filed a claim with Hyundai, finally got a call from them and was told to take to dealership, of course they found nothing wrong, everything is working to “their” standard, and that it’s just their new transmissions. I said I had another vehicle (Not Hyundai) that has this type of transmission and it doesn’t do this, she said, Well. This is Hyundai Transmission. I am beyond Frustrated and Disappointed with Hyundai products and Customer Service! I will never buy Hyundai and will and have recommend everyone to NOT buy Hyundai!!!
In 2010 I leased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I had previously purchased a Hyundai and had decided to stay with the company because I feel customer loyalty goes a long way. In 2013 my lease was up, and I loved my first Sonata so much that I decided to lease another one! I went in a month before the lease ended to shop around. The sales person convinced me to participate in the pull ahead program. This program lets you terminate the lease early as long as you sign another lease. I was excited to be in a new car a month before I originally thought I would be! Although they didnt have exactly what I wanted, I left with a new lease that day. Fast forward to today, and Im still dealing with calls from debt collectors/Hyundais corporate office saying I owe payment for the last month on my previously leased car. Despite reassurance from the local dealership that I dont owe anything, the calls continue to come. Not only to my cell, but also to my work (Im an ICU RN). Getting notifications from my coworkers that I have a phone call from a debt collector is not only embarrassing and untrue, but it is distracting from my job! This whole ordeal has made it look like I dont pay my bills, bringing my character into question among my coworkers. Not to mention the stress it has caused my husband and I. We have spent so much of our time worrying about the possibility of this royal screw up by Hyundai ultimately affecting our credit, which we work very hard to keep in excellent standing. Im so frustrated with this that I just want to be done with Hyundai completely, but they refuse to work with me to get me out of my current lease! As much as I love my car I dont agree with the way they do business, and I feel taken advantage of and trapped. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy!
Power steering on Elantra pulls to one side. See other complaints online. This car problem should be recalled. It is a safety issue.
2008 Hyundai Elantra - On May 8, 2013, I was driving 38-40 mph on damp road. I swerved to miss an animal and spun 270 degrees. I hit a tree on passenger side door, broke passenger window, moved forward, hit passenger quarter panel and then it went forward and hit front bumper directly center. Neither front nor side airbags deployed, brakes froze (ABS didnt work) and ESC didnt work (received ESC recall notice after accident). It totaled the car. Passenger received lacerations due to glass breakage. Driver and passenger received bumps, bruises, sore neck and body parts. This is a huge safety concern. What can be done about false safety advertising?
I was quoted a finance rate at $3,000 over the posted sticker price. I was given ridiculous numbers and quoted an incorrect credit score. I was taunted on my way out the door by a sales person named Ryan, saying he hoped my next car purchase ended up on the side of the road. This was witnessed by my sister and every other customer in the show room. I’m buying a new Toyota right next door.
My 2012 Hyundai Elantra (less than 4,800 miles) will not start. I towed it into the dealer on 9/5/12 - starter problem. The dealer cannot get the replacement part (starter) - the part is on backorder. Parts for a 2012 model on backorder? Whats the issue Hyundai USA?
If you happen to purchase a Hyundai that has an engine safety recall. You will not only be paying for the new engine Hyundai will be profiting from you. Hyundai has figured out how to make their customer pay for Hyundais bad engineering. They charge you 6,000 dollars for a new engine that failed from their bad engineering. The engine that cost them 900 dollars. Great customer support make money from your customer because of your fault. To make it even better they will profit from it again because the new engine has the same problem. What a wonderful company. I work for their OEM. I know how much they pay for their parts.
I am sharing my experience so that everyone is aware about such poor system to avoid. I co-signed a lease agreement for my son to lease a Hyundai Elantra 2017 last year. It appears that my son stopped paying his lease starting June. We, his parents, were under the impression that he is in contact with Hyundai to manage his payment, apparently this was not true.On July 22, 2017, bailiff came to collect the car. We were very cooperative and let the car go. I wanted my son to learn a lesson. This was not a joke to stop paying for his lease. However, the person from bailiff, never explained that there will be storage charges, the lease payment will continue to accumulate after he takes the car even if we no longer have or use the car, and all other fees I end up paying, simply he did not gave us an honest advise. Otherwise I would pay what Hyundai requires and keep the car without going through this emotional distress. With high blood pressure and other medical conditions it makes me feel even worse.On August 4th, I received a registered mail from bailiff explaining the charges. The letter did not include a single telephone number to contact. Being proactive, I went to the dealership for information. The financial adviser there tried to assist by calling Hyundai Capital for more information. Surprisingly, Hyundai Capital did not have an update about the car status which has been taken since July 22!!! This rep gave us the bailiff telephone number, however. The financial adviser gave me the telephone number for Hyundai Capital. I called all parties to gather information. Another person from bailiff sent me the required amount which I paid on Aug 8th, that was $1677.69.On August 9th bailiff confirmed receiving the fund and other documents were requested. However, bailiff requested additional payments for a time period I did not use the car at all as the car was/is still on hold by bailiff as explained earlier. I contacted Hyundai Finance, provided a Void Cheque with my personal banking information and authorized them to take this amount. Later speaking with Hyundai collection department they explained that this payment has to be deposited to bailiff which I did.Morning next day I received a confirmation from bailiff confirming receiving the fund and in communication with Hyundai to get release approval. I forwarded this bailiff e-mail confirmation to [email protected]. The car has accumulated storage charges, I paid lease payment for a car I do not have or used at all since July 22 until I received it back about mid August, I found myself as the one who was coordinating the conversations between bailiff and Hyundai, but yet neither Hyundai nor bailiff were willing to compensate or provide a satisfactory level of customer service.I spoke with Hyundai finance several times with false promises to call me back, never did. Finally by end of day I received a call from the auction that the car was held by that an approval has been received to release the car. I picked up the car after paying the redemption fee, storage fee and taxes. I have the car and the lease payment are in good standing since. Now, my son has been receiving letters under his name, not mine, to pay additional charges. I called Hyundai last week, they advised I am still missing a payment, however Hyundai could not specify what is this payment for, they was supposed to investigate this further from their end and call me back, Hyundai never did. Today my son received the same note about this payment. I called this evening, Oct 10, 2017, and got someone on the phone, who told me this fee is a repossession fee. However the letter doesnt say anything about a repossession fee, it says Prior billing and misc charges returned item handling. This person mentioned this was written on the agreement, I found myself forced to pay an additional amount of money I have not been expected or ready to pay. I am not sure how Hyundai expect every single person to read such agreements, and if happen how easy the terms will be understood by an average person. All these should have been explained beforehand at the dealership before signing the agreement, which never happened. This by far the worst/worst experience I ever had with such a system. I regret I considered getting a car deal from Hyundai. In simple words, stay away from such poor system.
I bought a new 2015 Hyundai Elantra and already had problems at 37,000 miles. My car started making weird noises and lost power when we went to take it in the car wouldnt even start. When you go there to buy a car they treat you like gold. If you have a problem I felt more like we were shoplifters. I would never recommend buying a Hyundai to anyone sadly it looks beautiful but thats it.
I bought brand new Hyundai Elantra 2014 and after 3 years my engine failed. They couldnt identify the cause behind engine failure. They ordered new engine from Hyundai for replacement. My car is at dealership since past 6 weeks and still they didnt receive engine nor any updates. Worst service I ever seen for any automobile companies. Their cars are not reliable and not long list. Poor choice to buy any Hyundai car. Its better to walk than having car from Hyundai.
I was recently in an accident with my 2011 Hyundai Elantra. I had a medical problem and went through a field, hitting a tree. My airbags did not deploy! Luckily I was not hurt worse, bruising and very sore. I am really afraid that something could happen and it could be deadly the next time. I have never had a recall on anything with my car! I feel this should be looked into as I have read other complaints that airbags failed to deploy!
2005 XG350 - Over the 7 years we have owned this car, we have been in for service on the airbag light around 10 times. During our warranty period, the dealer always had a quick fix and would reset the airbag light. Well 2 months after the air warranty expired and I should note only 50k miles in 5 years, they amazingly found the problem! It would only cost us $3,200 to repair! We fought with Hyundai and they repaired the problem, or so we thought! Now one year later the other seats airbag has the same problem! Why does Hyundai play with safety? These cars should have been recalled!
My wifes 2006 Sonato airbag light went off. We took it in and the dealer stated the seatbelt connector was defected. Even though we had an extended warranty, my wife had to pay to have it fixed. Just about a year after, the airbag light went off again and now the dealership will not cover its parts. The dealership said the part is now out of warranty and we would have to re-buy the belt. The belt works fine, but the light will not go off.
Twice I have had to pull my 2011 Hyundai Sonata over and get out of the car because of such strong fumes. I almost passed out twice. I took it to two service departments and they didnt say anything was wrong except a dirty cabin filter. Im terrified to drive this car. I also saw several complaints online about this issue.
Had to use Hyundai roadside assistance on my 2019 Ioniq to get the car from my home to the dealer. This process was easy and efficient and I give them 5 stars. After a day, local service dept. called and said I need a new hybrid battery (after only 2 years!!) and they are out of stock with no ETA. This dealer has no loaner car program so I am stuck without transportation. Called Corporate Hyundai and now awaiting a callback. Have had prior issues with the car but were fixed under warranty. Jury is out on how Hyundai will help me out. Not happy with the quality of the car since it wasn’t cheap.
I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with the customer service and system that takes place for recall and warranty work. My engine light began flashing Friday morning and I instantly called my “home” dealership to inquire what to do. They said to pull over and not drive it any further and to contact roadside assistance to have it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. I did just that. My vehicle is a 2017, but purchased brand new March 2018. I am well under the 100,000 km/ 5 year warranty. Once we arrived at the dealership to get things rolling, I was informed that my vehicle has an engine recall - thanks for the notice in the mail on that one, Hyundai - NOT. So that was a major surprise to hear. I get back to work and receive a phone call from service that my engine failed all diagnostic tests and that I needed a new engine altogether. I confirmed all my services have been done through Sherwood Park Hyundai, so they said, Great, we’ll get them to send over your records and send everything off to Hyundai Canada for approval and get you a rental. I expressed how much I required a rental, as I am 8 months pregnant and my husband is not available to be driving me to and from work. They told me by Monday or Tuesday they would know the status of the engine and we can do the rental car. I had to call Monday afternoon for an update, she informed me that nothing had been approved yet, but by Tuesday we’d know. I once again explain the need for the rental. Received no phone call Tuesday, so at 2:45 pm I called them, again. Once again told Hyundai Canada still didn’t approve the warranty for the engine. Not only is this a RECALL, but I am under warranty. They then said I could pay $40/ day for a rental through them and once warranty was approved, they’d take it over. I asked if I’d be reimbursed, they said no. So Hyundai wants me to not only pay my bi-weekly payments on a vehicle I can’t drive, but also pay out of pocket for a rental when it should have already been dealt with and set up. RIDICULOUS. Having a vehicle gets me to my place of employment, which allows me to pay you people for the vehicle sitting in one of your dealerships waiting for an engine on a basically still new vehicle. They were not willing to a single thing to help me out. I will never be buying a Hyundai again. My husband is already looking at getting rid of his also due this service. I owned 3 Chevy’s prior to the Tucson thinking it was a good move. Worst decision and full regret. Things started great with Hyundai and has plummeted over the years. Whenever my vehicle was in the shop with Chevy they ensured they had a fleet/lot vehicle available to me to drive. When I had to get warranty work done and they required to keep my vehicle for 3 days, they had a rental available to me instantly. Odd, they had no issue getting me in a rental ASAP. Hyundai, you are beyond disappointing and I am disgusted with your customer service.
I have had repeated headlight failures without any accidents. I have replaced them and had them fixed by my local Hyundai factory. The manager suggested I contact consumer affairs and Hyundai about this issue. I cannot keep paying when there is nothing I caused. This is an obvious manufacturing issue.
This have been happening for about a week or so. When I would stop at a traffic light, my Sonata would jerk and sputter then cut off, then I would have to start it back up and put it in gear go, then I would come to another light and it would do the same thing, but none of the check engine lights ever came on. Then yesterday, I was driving and trying to pass a car. I noticed that the car would not go past 60 mph and the tech only got up 4000 rpm, so I pulled off to the side of the road where the car stopped on me. So, I started it up, but then none of the gears would work, and I noticed that one of the check engine lights came on, so while I was waiting for a tow truck, I started the car several times. Each time that I started the car, none of the gears would work and none of the check engine lights were on.
I was driving on the highway when my 2015 Sonata se came to a complete stall without warning. I was almost rear-ended by a semi. Ive only had the car for 24 hours. Now its at a Hyundai service center where they say they dont know what the codes mean. However they stated they had 10 new engines for same complaint.
Do not buy Hyundai! You will regret it. I was sold a 2017 hyundai from the dealership with about 30k miles on it. This happened while the company knew about all the faults with the 2016-2017 transmission and DCT issues (please research the vast array negative testimonials on this line). I go for services 2-3x per year and before the recommended mileages are hit (I have the receipts and documentation to show this). Despite being continuously proactive, it was not long after I starting dropping thousands in unanticipated repairs. Only 2 weeks after a multi-point inspection and supposed tune-up at Lester Glenn in Toms River, the car started stalling. I had to bring it back for additional diagnostics and repairs. Again, a few months later, I had another service done. Part of it involved a light bulb I could have changed myself but was willing to pay a few extra bucks to have done do to business.My mind changed when the service rep, Chris, attempted to up-charge me ~$150 to change the light bulb, claiming the bumper had to be removed. After some stern discussion on how I knew that was not the case, he only admitted to attempting to upcharge me after I refused that particular fix by them. Yes, he actually admitted to trying to upcharge me. After spending a few hundred on some various fluid changes and checks I went on my way. 2 weeks later, the car transmission goes and it can no longer go in reverse. Going forward it becomes dangerous too as it stalls more and stutters. When I bring it back, Lester Glenn and Hyundai say that a transmission replacement will be $4,700. This is while I still have $11,600 still to pay off on this scam of a car I have only had for 2-3yrs and got at ~30K miles. Neither Lester Glenn or Hyundai Corporate offered my family any help with this situation.They did not even waive/refund my prior diagnostic fees and wouldn’t provide a loaner car when I needed it for work! In fact, other than Shawn (head rep at Lester Glenn?), no one there even feigned sympathy or understanding for the matter. Hyundai has sent me from slightly skeptical to full-blown traumatized about the auto industry. Especially in a time where many are financially hurting from the pandemic, their actions and duplicity completely contradict the integrity claims they attempt to advertise. I cannot warn you enough to stay away from their products and from Lester Glenn’s service. I don’t want this happening to anyone else!
Since owning my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I have had a number of recalls (or as the company likes to call them, ‘campaigns’). The most recent includes FOUR recalls. I took time off of work to get the recalls addressed, and yet, I still keep receiving notices that I need to take the car back in for the same recalls that I got taken care of. When you call customer service all you get is the run around or told that you are being “hostile” when they question you about where the emails are coming from and you tell them you have full command of the English language or “talking over them”. I still can’t use my phone’s bluetooth as the company never updated their system with the newer phones. My navigation system doesn’t know half of the addresses I put in, and the car only has 44,000 miles in 6 years. In addition, I constantly have to put air in my right front tire, regardless of the weather. Now I have to go back because the dealer disengaged the heated seats so I can’t even trade it in until they fix their mistake, and that was after the dealer tried telling me that the recalls had nothing to do with the heated seats (which they then had to reverse course on as the tech had to disconnect the heated seat wires to put the airbag harness on). Hyundai claims in their ads that they make ‘better’ cars. Better for who? Because it DEFINITELY isn’t better or safer for the consumer. I feel that is a misrepresentation of the truth. Save yourself and your wallet! Don’t even look bother. There are other more reputable companies from which to choose from. Honestly, I think the federal government needs to look into the safety of Hyundai’s vehicles.
Bought a Hyundai Elantra 2010 at Linwood in Paducah. A/C not working but did not know it; accepted hot air from it as normal. Drove in this condition with my cat to Lexington, KY; cat suffered heat exhaustion. Took it to the Glenn Hyundai and they said they fixed it. Same problem cropped again and again. And sometimes I did not use A/C. When I took it the last time for the AC: Dealer rep accused me of going there a few times and not ever mentioning that the AC was a problem and once I had not hit the button. Dealer said fixed it the first time - that dye was placed and small valve problem fixed. But I heard nothing about this. This time by mistake I saw the dealers notes which said cracks on belt. But that was not mentioned to me. Why were these belts not replaced during warranty? Do they wait until the warranty is over to cheat?Also, early on, I drove to another city and felt the steering pulling to the right. Being inexperienced and afraid of big trucks, I drove into the guardrail but I distinctly felt the tug to the right. This was in Jan/Feb 2010. In 2014/2015, Hyundai asked Hyundai Elantra owners to go to the dealer and get this steering problem fixed. Surface of steering wheel, brake lever, brake and gas foot pad all eroding after only 1 yr or 2. Got a lemon. Regret buying Hyundai. Nightmare car!!!
Hyundai Motors did contact me and refunded what I paid to the towing company. We would have deleted the comment I made earlier but was unable to do so. Thank you Hyundai Motors for your quick response.
I have had to replace 3 different door handles on the car because they broke when you tried to open the doors.
I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks.He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO TO KEEP THE CONTRACT THAT I WAS GIVEN AS WRITTEN, AND THE CAR.
I paid 36,853.00 for a Sonata turbo Tech pack and came with a FOD. Chrome tailpiece rusted within in the first week. I examine carefully several time where this dusty rust came from. Why I have rust particle in top of the tailpipe every day? UMMM To repair I have to paid 400.00 dollars to the body shop to remove the bumper cover and surprise, we found metal shaving in the cavity of the bumper frames were the two bolts hold in place the uni-body and the bumper frame. We have photos and planning to reporting to BBB. Manufacturers corporation sometimes they have angry employee damaging the products to make the company look bad. The quality control department for Hyundai is completely responsible for any FOD left in a car. The dealer was notified, they dont care. I submit all the evidence to Allstate claim department. Total repair 650.00.
Buying a Hyundai was the worst mistake of my life! Too many problems. Now after 44,000 miles my air conditioning is going out and I was told that my warranty has expired. Never again will my family purchase from this company again!!!! I hate having to give them even one star.
My brand new 2022 leased Hyundai Tucson is quoted to get up to 35 mpg on Hyundais website. I have proof of 14-16 mpg. Dealership wont look at car because a Light isnt on. Manager hung up and general manager said call Hyundai. Another option was to face penalty to turn the lease in and pay to lease another. This car is a lemon and you cant get any help.
The vehicle provides plenty of power & significant gas mileage & is equipped with numerous features that would have been options in other vehicles of this type. I have owned a Hyundai vehicle for the last 21 years in a row & would never consider another brand. Every vehicle I have owned in that time has provided excellent gas mileage, low maintenance costs, high end standard features & the best overall value in the industry.
I purchased Hyundai Accent that was a couple of years old and a dull gray. Used car to run back and forth to work. It ran well all in all. We have since given the car to our daughter to use to drive back and forth to college. It is small with better mileage than other vehicles have owned. Some it was a couple years old we were able to get the car at a reasonable cost. Payments were manageable at $250 per month. However, car would not accelerate on hills well. The smaller size made traveling with the family tight sometimes.
I purchased a Hyundai Elantra Turbo back in September 2017. I have just recently been diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and have not worked for over a month and not sure when I will be getting back to work. I called the finance company for Hyundai and ask them if I could delay a few payments and add them onto the end of my lease. Their response was that there was nothing that they could do for me. I’m very disappointed! Upset! The way I feel right now if I could turn in my car and lease from another company that would have a little more compassion I would do it in a heartbeat! I will never buy another Hyundai based on this experience.
My car had a recall that I was notified about. My car quit on me 2 weeks ago. I had it towed home, towed to a shop to learn that my motor had locked up. The recall was something with my motor therefore Hyundai towed my car to a dealer for repair. I have had NO car for 2 weeks. The dealer had NO loaner and I am already out almost $900 trying to repair my car. I was Advised to get a rental so another charge for this vehicle that is being repaired due to a recall. I am so frustrated at this point it is behind ridiculous. Patricia **
On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?
I currently own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata but decided to get a new car 2 years ago. Not knowing what I really wanted, I decided to lease a new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT. Prior to the end of the lease in January 2019, I received a letter from the dealership stating that they will cover termination fees, excess wear and tear, disposition fees and over mileage fees. I leased a new 2018 Hyundai Kona in August of 2018. To my surprise, I recently received a bill from Hyundai Motor Finance Company for over $1,300. I have made countless phone calls to both the dealership and finance company to no avail. The dealer says they have done everything they can and do not understand the charges, the finance company says that they are just going by my contract and here I am stuck in the middle with a bill. I ended up paying the balance for loss of sale, a term I heard only after turning in the car. The Hyundai Motor Finance Company has even charged me $65.00 a hubcap for curb rash; $260 just for hubcaps! When speaking with one of their representatives, she explained that they want the car back in the same condition I got it in; In other words, they do not accept normal wear and tear. They are a third party just like any other bank and really dont have anything to do with what dealerships tells me. Unless you are willing to read all the fine print in your contract at the dealership, which is kind of hard because all they really want is to have you walk away with a car, take the contract home and read it before you sign for after it has your signature, you are legally bound to its terms. Dont expect the dealership to explain to you important terms like loss of sale; the difference you are responsible for if the car is not sold at auction for a price that covers the remainder of the lease balance. Call the Lease End department before you turn in the car and arrange for a pre-inspection so you can fix everything at a fraction of the cost. I could have replaced all four hubcaps for less than $100. I now purchased the excess wear and tear insurance for the new vehicle; lets see how that goes?
Salespeople were no-pressure. The Tucson is our 3rd Hyundai and theres lots of value in Hyundai, especially the warranty. Also lots of trouble-free miles at a pretty good price.
I just had my Hyundai 2012 Sonata serviced for a gas leak. They told me it was a packing fuel pump and cap assembly fuel filler. All Goethe’s they charge me 383.12 dollars for only changing the fuel cap which was the real issue and they milked it by keeping me waiting for more than two hours. I realized they did not change the packing fuel pump because they never asked me for the special key to remove one of the lug nuts to my tire where the gas cap is located. They ripped me off, and I realized this when I got home and said “How come they didn’t ask for the key to remove the special lug nut?” How can I get my money back on this issue? I am really pissed off because of how they are getting away with this.
I bought my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT based on the reputation, look of the car and the estimated mileage. I had previously owned an all wheel drive car - the handling of which was fabulous but was unhappy with the mileage (20 city/25 highway). The Elantras estimated 27/37 mpg was worth giving up excellent handling. Initially my mileage was 23/28 with the Hyundai and so I waited a few months thinking the car needed to be broken in. Now, a year later, I am still only getting approximately 24mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. I complained to the service department in September and they agreed to test the mileage.Heres what happened at the test: I topped off the tank 1/4 mile from the dealer and delivered a filled-to-capacity tank. They then drove the car 40 miles and then refilled the tank with 1.089 gallons determining that my car gets 36.73 miles per gallon. Knowing that was impossible, I drove immediately to the same filling station and put an additional .615 gallons in the tank, topping it off. Obviously, their idea of topping it off and mine were very different. With the additional .615 gallons, the mileage would have been determined correctly at 23.52 which was just about what I have been getting. When I called and asked them about it, they couldnt understand my point and stood by their test. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs who spoke to the dealership and determined that there was no more they could do at that point unless I wanted pay for a test at another dealership. I was unwilling to do that if the first test had already proven to MY satisfaction that the mileage I had been getting all along was all I was going to get and another dealer, when contacted, said they would just take the mileage reading from the cars gauge to determine mpg. The gauge always shows 2-3 mpg better than what I actually get and is still nowhere need their estimated 27/37. I knew Hyundai had been fined for overestimating mpg in the past and in fact have a program of reimbursement because so many people have complained about the misrepresentation of mpg so I actually thought that meant I could trust their estimated mpg because they would not want to be found lacking in that area again. However, that is clearly not the case. At this point I feel I have no recourse except to register my complaint and hope something can be done to my satisfaction.
I own auto repair shop. Also I have a dealer license, I purchase a 2016 Hyundai Accent @ auction with 25000 miles, car runs beautiful, but we notice some weird noise when we put it in reverse. So we took it to this dealership (PRIDE HYUNDAI LYNN, MA). Long story short need a new tranny, dealership and this car company refuse to replace it because they said car was involve in an accident. Car is clean title, CLEAN CARFAX or CRASH REPORT, this F... people dont even know how a car runs. They only base everything according what a book said, STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!!! THE FAMOUS 10 YEAR/100000 MILES FACTORY is a complete crap. Stay away from Hyundai!!!! For your own good.
I purchased my 2015 Sonata in January of 2016. After 3 days of ownership I noticed the panoramic roof was rattling, I returned to the dealership and the sales person said the car was just having some growing pains (this is the 3rd car I have owned with a pano roof - 05 Scion Tc and 14 Sonata Limited). I took him for his word and took a short road trip and the rattle only got worse. At 1822 miles I returned to the dealership and complained about the roof, and I was rewarded with the services manager telling me the 15s have been having issues with their pano roofs. They lubed everything up and told me they would call me when they had a fix. At 3998 (3/17/16) miles I returned to the dealership with the issue growing worse, once again Hyundai lubed the seals and said it was fixed. At this point I had enough and contacted Hyundais customer hotline and filed a complaint, and Hyundai didnt bother to respond. Shortly after my roof sustained some damage from debris and the dealership refused to work on it. They even joked around about maybe once the insurance company fixed my roof the rattle would go away. Once again I contacted customer care and filed a complaint warning of a lemon law violation. My case was passed on and I called back every single day for almost a month until I had someone return my call. Hyundai agreed to replace my entire roof under warranty, this was done in 8/8/16 at 10161 miles. Hyundai agreed to place their best warranty on the car at no cost to me and assured me the roof was fixed. A few weeks later the rattle slowly started to come back, it slowly got worse and the dealership in several undocumented occasions lubed up the seals. Once again I called customer care and spoke with their regional person who was helping me and raised my concerns. He agreed to send a engineer out to check my roof and if he determined the rattle was there Hyundai was going to buy back my car. On 3/6/17 I dropped my car off with an ever present rattle and picked it back up on 3/7/17 only to be informed that the rattle was not found by their engineer. On 3/8 Hyundai denied my claim for a buy back stating the roof was working as it is designed to do. Now I have to file a BBB complaint to get this issue resolved.
I was in a side and front end collision and my left side airbag went off but my driver air bag did not after trying to avoid a head-on collision with a dodge truck. After the truck hit my left side, I ended up going through a wire fence and hit a steel pole and a cedar tree before my car stopped. After all that no steering wheel airbag. This on 11/14/11 at 6 a.m. Im feeling pain and Im not happy at this point.
I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata March 2015. I had no problems with the car up to a week ago. First my check engine light came on and then a knocking-ticking noise from my engine. I took my car to OReilly and they checked it and informed me it was the camshaft. After then I was driving down the road the noise got louder and then the car stalled. It shut off in the middle of the road. All the lights came on and it STOPPED!My car was towed to a local Hyundai dealership. Spoke to someone this morning and they havent even looked at the car yet. I work 35-40 miles from where I stay and I dont have no other kind of transportation. After further review I found that Hyundai has had a ridiculous amounts of recalls on all of their vehicles even the new ones. I also found out that they recalled over 470,000 Hyundai Sonatas 2011-2012. After reading the reviews of this recall my car is doing the same thing as the 2011-2012 models. I have contacted Hyundai twice and all they are telling me is that my car is not part of that recall. My car is doing the same exact thing. They do not care and it is just ridiculous that there is so many problems. They wont get me a rental or a loaner. I plan to go to everyone news station I can find and report this issue. These cars arent safe or reliable and someone has to speak up and take action!!!
In short: Hyundai has come a long way. As a Honda loyalist, I was nervous about choosing a brand with a history of reliability issues. I test drove every Hybrid sold in the US and much to my surprise, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid came out on top of the many categories I laid out for myself. Hyundai really took the time to design the ergonomics, style, feature-set, and accommodations for this car, which I fell in love with. My dealer made buying one simple, straightforward, and pressure-free.In Detail: CABIN: After driving the gamut of hybrids available in the US (Fusion, Prius [+ IV, C & V], Civic, Avalon, Camry, Accord, Volt, Crosstrek, CR-Z, C-Max...) I was finally talked into at least test driving the Sonata Hybrid. My partner had a 2012 Sonata that was recently totaled, (air bags deployed, driver and passenger safe and unharmed) that we both liked a lot, so I put my brand loyalty and pride aside to appease this silly recommendation. I got in and almost immediately fell in love (with the cabin, at least). Bluetooth connectivity, Pioneer audio w/ subwoofer, 8 screen, automatic dual-zone climate control, 4 in-dash LCD screen, push-start engine, heated leather seats, contemporary (if not ultra-modern) dash design, roomy front and rear seats, tons of storage space, and an overall feeling of luxury car enveloped you the moment you sat down. The real over-the-top, wow-factor element was the panoramic sunroof with an automatic curtain system... it was just, wow.TEST DRIVE: The dealership gave me the keys and said, Well see you when we see you. Instant acceleration? Absolutely. Hybrid? No way. This Hyundai Sonata Hybrid (HSH) drove like a dream. Smooth, peppy, sporty, yet luxurious. I took it around for an hour or so and decided that it was going to be pushed to the top of my contenders list. It felt more comfortable than most of the other cars I had test driven and felt less like a Hybrid than all of them (thank you 6-speed transmission). After a day of driving other cars, the HSH felt like a retreat into a luxury condo. Everything about the car seemed to say to me, How can I make you more comfortable? How can I make this drive more exciting for you? What more can I do for you today. This car was definitely built from the drivers seat outward.RESEARCH: I was under no pressure to buy a car, so I took my time, researched all of my options and test drove every car that fit my basic parameters. As a car guru, I know most things about most cars, so my researched was aimed at filling in the gaps (i.e. owner experience, changes between 2012 and 2015 HSHs, recalls, future model introduction [at the time of my purchase, the 2016 HSH had been announced, which did encourage me to buy sooner than later, considering the design change was, in my opinion, moving backwards], dealership issues, etc). I joined the Hyundai forum for Sonata Hybrids and extensively read through threads describing issues specific to the HSH I was considering.PURCHASE: After several weeks of consideration and re-test driving the cars that made the top of my list, I finally decided that the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited w/ Ultimate Package was the car for me. Then the fun began. I called every Hyundai dealership in the Tri-State Area (VA-DC-MD) getting price quotes, availability, and dealer-specific incentives. I knew that I wanted to buy from Alexandria Hyundai, but after seeing their price match guarantee, I decided Id get the best deal possible, then have Alexandria Hyundai match it. The car at the time had an MSRP ~$33,500 (the limited package added upgraded tech, leather seats, some aesthetic features; the ultimate package added the panoramic sunroof and the Pioneer Stereo system) and I was in the market for something under $27,500. With the new 16 being released in the coming month and gas prices having plummeted, dealers seemed exceptionally willing to slash prices for almost any reason. To cut to the chase, I was able to have two Southern VA dealers battle it out to get my car down to $24,500 out the door (OTD). I was exceptionally happy with that price, brought the lowest quote to Alexandria Hyundai, and they said they would match it. They had the exact car I wanted, so I was ready to buy. I didnt haggle much from that point, because their dealership incentives were far better than any of the others (free car washes, free oil changes and tires for life, free inspections, free loaner with major service, etc). After going through the paperwork, which was a smooth transition, the car was mine (at least physically). Everything about the car was explained to me and I left a very happy consumer. 20,000 mi. UPDATE: Having had the car for 2 years, I am incredibly happy with the car itself and Alexandria Hyundai. Ive had very few services, but each time I brought my car in, I was treated very well and work was completed efficiently. The car drives like it did when I drove it off the lot that first day, with some minor wear in conspicuous places (the SONATA printed on the floor mat is less silver than it was back then). Id recommend Hyundai for consideration to friends and family; Id especially recommend the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid; and Id INSIST that if they were buying one, they go to Alexandria Hyundai in Northern Virginia.FINE PRINT: I bought the diamond white pearl model because its 10x more luxurious than the other colors. Its gorgeous enough to rival my friends Lexus RX-350 hybrid. Im still very much enamored with my car and think that 2 years later it is still one of the most attractive vehicles on the road. I am constantly told that my car looks brand new, looks and feels like a luxury car, and is sooo quiet.
I own a 2012 elantra. And while Im driving it seem the rear suspension rolls. From side to side. This only happens when I roll over a bridge bump, I ask the Hyundai dealer what could be the problem and their answer was the shocks need replaces. They replaced the shock twice but this did not solve the rear rolling. The top mechanic couldnt understand why this was happen. Superior Hyundai really doesnt have a clue why my car rolls. What can I do to have this fix?
I was driving to work when my 2014 Elantra with 72,000 miles made a knocking sound and stalled in middle of the road. I had to have it towed to a local station whom assessed and informed me the engine failed and based on how clean the engine appeared he couldnt imagine what happened to this engine. I then had car towed to Hyundai due to I have a contract for 100,000 miles on engine. After they evaluated the vehicle, they DENIED me and refused to cover the engine repair under their PROMOTED, ADVERTISED AND PROMISED 100,000 mile warranty. So after 4 years of paying on this car, I am STILL making monthly payments for this car. Hyundai refused to stand by their commitment to repair the engine!!!
I like Hyundai alright, but feel like its only a middle of the road car. Little things have broken such as door sensors and windshield wiper motor that were trouble to fix, but didnt break the bank.
I had bought a New Hyundai I20 Era on 19th of June 2012 from M/S Advaith Motors Pvt Ltd, Bannerghatta Road, (Next to Spar), New # 1 to 5, Old # 44/1 A, Bangalore - 560076, +91-80-22966201/3. Immediately after one month of the Drive of around 400 KMS, the drum brake sound started. Since it was new car, I thought may be it needs to set or something. However after the first service I still have the same issues, then I realized it is real Problem. After that I had visited and asked them for replacement or fix of the brake system. They did some cleaning and then they gave it to me and it went fine for few days and again problem started. Now it is 3 times the Brake system has been replaced and then number of times it has been services, the brake problem persists.Due to the assurance given at the beginning of the problem by Service Manager in Advaith, I kept on going to them to fix the issues and then drive for few days and then go back again to fix the issues. Now after it was going to be one year, I raised complaint in May and then Brake was replaced to fix the issues saying that it is a service issue. However again the problem is still there. Yesterday I had Advaith Service personal visit and also see the same issues. I had driven around 10 KMS to show him the issue again and then they ask me now to bring again the Car to the Garage and then will see and fix the issue.Since I have been wasting my precious time of Visiting the garage and keeping my car in the garage for repair and replacement, I will no longer be able to do the same. I need a permanent solution. I even tried to sell the Car 2 Lakhs Less than the Amount within 7 Months of Buying due to this problem; however no one is ready to buy the car with Brake Problem. Due to the Brake issues if any thing accidental happens, Hyundai will be responsible for this. I have to use this car as I have to travel to office with the same only. I had already had minor accidents due to disturbance and also when I tried to avoid the sound. I had spent significant amounts of time and also money for this Problem, if not given permanent solution then I would not not hesitate to claim it too. So please let me know your feed back so that I can go to further Process of getting my rights.PS: I had call to the Customer Care today and they said I have to go to service center again and there is no solution other than that. And they also said complaint was raised them in May (after 11 Months) and so it is Service Issue. If I would have complained on the second month to this mail ID or Customer Care I think it would be better rather than going to the Distributor who always takes the ownership of the Product as to the Law. Problem with 2008 Sante Fe - The fuel gauge in my vehicle has stopped registering the gasoline. I fill up vehicle and turn on engine and it registers zero fuel. Sometimes it might register 1/4 of a tank for a few minutes, then goes back to zero. The check engine light started coming on at the same time. The car was taken to Advance Auto and their register gave a number (which escapes me right now) but when we looked it up it said the fuel sensor was bad. From reading numerous complaints about the same problem, it seems the repair for this can cost anything from $300 - $700. This seems to me grossly unfair as it is obviously a defect in the equipment and should be repaired at the companys cost. Thanks for listening.
The 2012 Sonata is NOT a safe car as advertised. This fire happened without any real warning other than a small knocking sound for only a few minutes before bursting into flames. This car was up to date on service and oil changes and only had 25,000 miles on it. It was brand new when I bought it. Almost died seeing as though no check engine light came on and temp gauge was normal the entire time. Even when on fire.
When Im looking for buying 2020 Tucson, Hyundai College Park sales person who name is Sharon ** contacted me that they have a 2020 Tucson value and gave me a confirmation with good price. But when I be there in appointment time they do not have that car and show me another car with higher price. Sales manager said me just had been sold out what I want, Even nobody said me sorry. l lost my time and very disappointed. I bought Hyundai Sonata 2011 less than 3year. Now upon reach 90,000 miles it started giving me problem. Each month different problem until 100,000 miles then the main engine pack off. Please stay away from HYUNDAI products. I and my beloved ones will never go it Hyundai product anymore.
Not only is the initial cost of the built in navigation system a rip off, wait until you want to update the maps. Pay $35-$40K for a vehicle and then, in our case, Hyundai dealers wanted $169-$300 for a simple and inexpensive update. They take a few minutes, plug into a computer or have a disc and they have the update and then, with a straight face they want that kind of money. Next vehicle will have free updates or no navigation system. Sure wont be a Hyundai product.
My check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 & 1/2 months. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was not covered under my extended warranty, which make no sense to me. They said this is because I was not the original owner, since I bought it used & bought the extended warranty, it was not covered. I have spent more time at the dealership whether it was in Illinois or Colorado than I have with any other car that I have owned. The total cost is $119.47.
I was a supportive Hyundai customer, owning a 2003 Tiburon GT and a recently purchased 2013 Veloster, until this disheartening event. My airbag light illuminated on my Tiburon, so I did a little research online and came to find that the 2003 Tiburon was recalled for this. The cause is actually the wiring within the seat belt mechanism. You can actually manipulate the light by wiggling the seat belt holder. So, I contacted Hyundai Customer Care America, spoke to a pleasant and professional attendant, and after her research, she told me that it was a recall item and it would be covered by Hyundai; and she said I should go to a dealer asap. It sounds perfect, but that was soon about to change. I went to the dealer, left the car, and was then contacted by the service department and was told that this was not covered. I told them the agent’s name, case number and campaign number, but this did not change the situation. They told me that the repair would be $293. I sent off an email shortly after to Hyundai consumer affairs and CEO of Hyundai America. I received a response back from consumer affairs with a negative result again. You would think that Hyundais foremost concern would be the safety for their customers, seeing as this was a safety issue, with a possibility of the airbag deploying. When I wrote to them, I told them how disheartened I was, and in return, they told me, in closing, thank you for being a part of their Hyundai family. How patronizing is that!
Hi, just wanted to share with experience Ive had with Hyundai. I have encountered several issues with my Equus, both with the 2011 and the 2014 models. With the 2011, it was serviced a multitude of times, concluding with the installment of a new compressor. However, the cooling (or lack thereof) issue still remained. When that lease ended, I was assured that the A/C issues with the Equus had been rectified. In good faith, I leased a new 2014 Equus, and much to my dismay, the A/C issues were NOT resolved! So, here I am, AGAIN, in the same exact predicament! Hyundai insists on continuing to deny this problem exists and continues to market inferior products. Any consumer can read the blogs on the internet and clearly see that there is a definite A/C problem with the Hyundai models, including the Equus! Hyundai is lessening their credibility in continuing to deny this issue exists! Hyundai needs to step up to the plate and stop denying that they do not have an A/C problem with this vehicle. They MUST do the right thing. Otherwise, their reputation will be at stake. Recurring customers like me will no longer return, and unfortunately for Hyundai, we will tell others about the poor service and callous treatment we received and of our negative experience.
Issues with the 2015 Sonata and no help from Bluelink or Hyundai - I have a car with 5492 miles and the check engine light comes on. I go to service, they want to take my car for God knows how long. They dont have the part. So I refuse to leave it. I explain to them that driving with a bad VCM is going to cause more problems. They are indifferent. They refuse to reimburse me if I do it. They refuse to help me locate the part. I tell them that it is a safety issue for others around me as well as myself. Again indifference. Snotty attitudes and no solutions other than we will get back to you in three business days which is actually five days. The car is sputtering, dumping fuel and to them it is no big deal. First and last car I will ever buy from them. Oh and my friends 2015 Sonata also had to go to the shop at 2500 miles for a shut valve and when it was repaired was worse than before and the dealership damaged his rear bumper and spoiler and then he had to lose the car for another three days. I can go on and on about how horrible this vehicle is. Do not let the looks fool you, while it may be redesigned and the price tag has gone up it is still a lousy company. And what good is the warranty if they do not stand behind it?
Bought a 2019 new Ioniq last month. On day 2 of owning it, after first opening the hatch, noticed banging, rattling noise from hatch going over bumps. Selling dealership would not take the car back, only advised to take it to a service center. I did that 3 times to no avail. Problem is same. Opened case with Hyundai corporate, they denied request for buyback. Furthermore, they told service dept not to spend any more on fixing this. So there I sit with a horribly noisy new car and no resolution. This is not a normal road noise. Its so annoying I dont want to drive the car. Hyundai has failed me in so many ways, I would never buy another. I now have to either live with a lemon, or take a huge loss on trading it in.
My husband bought me the 2012 Hyundai Azera for my 50th birthday. Every year the battery dies. It is going on it 5th battery!! Last year I threw a fit over the same thing every year. They said it is because when I stop the car, forget to put it in park. This did not make any sense because of the fact it dies around the same time each year. They keep it for weeks without a loaner car!! I wrote Hyundai and told them my problem, they were complete no help. I had no problems with my last car. This car has been a complete nightmare. From the service department, all the way up to the Hyundai company. It is in the shop again for another battery!! I will never buy another Hyundai again. Just the worst customer service I have ever seen!!
It seems like a minor problem but the lifters on the back of my 2006 Elantra Hatchback failed just after the warranty expired. To have these replaced at the dealer would cost about $200. I thought they would hold when fully extended but the other day the hatch smacked me on the back of the head when I was looking down into the back of the car.
My 2012 Sonata - I have 18,000 miles on my car that I bought last February. I paid $30,000 for the car and I already need 4 new tires. I would not have purchased the car had I known this. The dealership (Washington, PA) said they put junk tires on it to get the best test drive performance. This is unacceptable that I had to spend $500 9 months after spending 30 grand on the car.
Hyundai Genesis 2015 went dead on road only 1.5 years old. Had to get it towed to Napleton Hyundai Northlake. They had to replace computer. Then it happened again a week later. Then they had to replace the fuel pump module. Now the car vibrates when sitting still. The seats and the steering wheel constantly shaking. Napleton says it is because the engine is running and thats just the way the car is. Either Hyundai Genesis is a very bad car or Napleton Hyundai is totally incompetent, or possibly both. I would stay away from both! On top of that, I cant get rid of the car because they say the current value is less than the end of lease value which is still over a year away. They want me to pay 100% of the remaining payments to the end of lease if I trade it in and buy a new one. Worst dealer service I have ever had.
2011 Hyundai Sonata - At 96,000 the engine blew without any warning. Hyundai does not want to be 100% responsible for the warranty.
I bought a 0KM Hyundai Tucson here at Argentina, and it had its gear box ruined when an official Hyundai workshop got GL5 oil in it, instead of GL4. GL5 oil eats this type of gear boxes which have yellow metals in it, such as bronze. After this, the gear box started having several problems and malfunctions. They accepted their error but never agreed to replace the entire gear box; they just repaired it instead. By now, they have made two repairs to the gear box, and I am now having several new issues back again. They still dont agree to replace it for a new one. This would be the third time the gear box should get repaired, and the vehicle only has 80.000 KM. I am really disappointed; this is really unfair.
Such a shame. We are a growing company with 2 Hyundai iMax vans. And we’ll need more soon. One of them had an engine seizure at just after 5 years, and only 120,000 on the clock. Hyundai is comfortable, gives a smooth ride and handles well. It has low maintenance obligations though it has high mileage. Seats are high to support knee issues. Love the heated seats and back seat temperature control. The 3rd row seating is handy for road trips with the grand kids. The sun roof was also a must for me and the grands! I got the most amenities without an exorbitant additional cost. However, it doesnt have Bluetooth or a back up camera. I also would like a steering wheel that heated up and that the 3rd row seats are raised up higher off the floor. Theyre so low that theyre only appropriate for small children. Nevertheless, its the best vehicle Ive ever owned!
While driving at 70 miles an hour on I-87 using cruise control, the car jerked, check engine light came on and the car completely stopped accelerating. There was no response when pressing the gas pedal. Luckily, we were near an exit. We were not rear ended by a truck and were able shift lanes and to roll off and put our hazard lights on. On the exit, the car came to a dead stop. After checking the engine, we turned it off and the car started back up. And we were able to drive to a local service station concerned about driving any farther. The mechanic was able to determine there was an error code related to the throttle control. On restarting the car, the engine lights reset and the car ran normally.We continued on our trip. When we returned home, we brought the car to the Hyundai dealer where it was purchased to service the car. After they examined the car, we were told there was nothing they could do as there were no error codes in memory. They said that we should continue to drive it until it happened again. When I mentioned that there was a technical service bulletin regarding the throttle sensor and it should be either replaced or tested, I was told that they could not do anything until an error was recorded in the memory of the computer. It was because Hyundai USA would not cover anything under warranty, even though this was a serious safety concern and would most likely to occur again. When I asked if it was likely to occur again, I was told most likely it would happen soon and to be careful.A month later, when traveling on a long trip, it happened again on the Taconic State Parkway in New York. I was traveling at about 65 miles per hour. This time there was no shoulder. But I was able to partially pull off the road and put on my hazard lights as cars drove by and avoided hitting mine. Based on my prior experience, I turned the car off and was able to restart and move again. This same situation occurred four (4) more times as I was able to get my car finally back home to the Hyundai dealer to service the car.The Hyundai dealer replaced both the throttle sensor and the pedal assembly. The car appears to be working properly for the last two weeks. Having researched the problem with acceleration, I have learned that many others have experienced this similar and potentially dangerous problem. After speaking with other Hyundai service technicians, I was told off the record that this was not an uncommon problem. As the sensor is less than $85, I am not sure why Hyundai did not address this problem when I first brought the car or as a recall. The consequences could be much more serious.
I went to the shop for check up on a problem for car not running. They made diagnostic and said it was something with the sensor of the gasoline injection. So I told them to go ahead and repair and they did charging almost $300.00. I went to pick it up and after I got out of the dealer, I started feeling the car with same problem. So I went back to them, this time they said, “Ok, it is weekend and we will check and will call you back.” When they called me back, they said now that it was the transmission and that I need a new one. I was never advised for any problem with transmission even when I use to take the car for service with them and I used to go for any problems with the car to this dealer. I asked them for reimbursement for the false diagnostic and they said they will not return any money. My car has been in the garage since then because I do not have money to repair the transmission. I feel like I was robbed because I paid for anything.
From the deceptive pushy dealer at Hyundai to the customer service line to the service department. In all my years of owning a vehicle never have I had to deal with such unprofessional people. I regret so much buying from Hyundai and would never buy from them again. I traded in a brand new Honda Accord paid off and needed more room for my son to fit in comfortably and decided to look at Hyundai. The dealer was cool to take my paid off brand new vehicle and get me a SUV much to my surprise the name brand must be jinxed. As soon as I purchased the vehicle from Hyundai a month later I had a car accident where another person hit me. Taking it back to Hyundai I wanted a authorized Hyundai dealer to repair my vehicle which there wasnt one in my area, they convinced me at the dealer to trade in the crashed vehicle for a new one again and much to my amazement was reluctant after seeing the cost of payment for another vehicle.The pushy aggressive finance officer upset me to the point that I wanted to call the cops cause he wouldnt give me back my keys to my vehicle in a desperate hope that he would get me into the new Hyundai. I went from a monthly payment of $180 with a payoff balance of $8000 to a another Hyundai vehicle same year to $400 payment with a $20,000 payoff when they finally convinced me at the dealer. It was a good decision I finally took the vehicle and thats where all my headaches began. They are good to take your money quick but as far as customer service on your account through financing with Hyundai is a also a headache, and the dealer well no comment at this point. STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!!!
Sad and Disappointed, Hyundai Customer support sucks. Have been writing to them for over 2 months. Zero product knowledge. Customer service guys call back and talk to me asking, What car you want to buy? They look at the car for First time. I doubt they even work for Hyundai. I know more about Hyundai than these guys and have been driving Hyundai for 17 years, no more! Trading in for new Tesla. At least the Brand cares for its customers!!!
I made a down payment of $2k on what was to be a new 2013 Genesis Premium Coupe. After much research, I found out what others were paying for this vehicle and signed a purchase agreement, for which the salesperson refused to provide me with a copy saying it was against Corporate Policy. The exact vehicle had to be obtained from a W. Virginia dealership, so I didnt see the car until all the paperwork was signed. The window sticker of the W. VA dealership showed the car had 9 miles on it. I figured the vehicle should have about 100 to 125 miles on it. The salesperson stated they would have to search for one, and surprisingly, he had it on his lot the following morning. I couldnt pick it up for four days, so the dealership had time to call and alert me to the high mileage but didnt.I found out about the high mileage when I was signing the odometer statement. I questioned it and was told that the vehicle was not driven from the originating dealership but from another W. VA dealership that traded it with the originating dealership. Even in that event, 455 miles sounded unreasonable. I found several paint chips, nicks, and scratches when I got the car home. I requested to speak with the General Sales Manager about the high mile, condition of the paint job, and an allowance of $300.00. Despite repeated attempts, he refused to talk with me. The dealership didnt want to have anything to do with this matter, but the salesperson did pay someone $32.50 to fix two of the paint chips and he paid for a rental. The dealership would have had to pay for a rental anyway, since I had to bring the vehicle back to have the Paint and Fabric Protection applied and 24 hours were needed for it to dry.I paid the same amount for a vehicle with 455 miles that other people were paying for the same car with 2 or ten or sixty miles. I looked into the matter further and found that the car was driven from the originating dealership in W. VA to a dealership in Pennsylvania, back to a dealership in W. VA. and finally to Hyundai of Greensbug. The salesperson left that out. In addition, the mileage driven from the various dealerships fell short of 455 miles which meant someone was driving the vehicle for personal use. I have no way of knowing how the car was driven during the all important Break-In-Period. Furthermore, when I first liquid-waxed the car, I noticed another paint chip on the edge of the hood closest to the windshield. I dont know how damage was done so close to the windshield without damaging the windshield. The chip was down to the metal but covered with the paint protection dried solution.At this point, I had only driven the car, which is garage-kept, about 100 miles. So the damage did not occur while I had it. I called the salesman and he told me I could bring the car in to have the paint chip repaired at my own expense. There is no way anyone within their right mind would pay what I paid knowing in advance that the vehicle had 455 miles on it. No wonder it did not sell at the three previous dealerships. The car had to be sold sight-unseen. I take care of my vehicles which the attached photo of my 20-year-old Honda Accord supports.
2008 Hyundai Sonata - Driving to work 2 weeks ago, I noticed the rear end of the car felt strange, some movement in the rear end. As I was driving something happened in the rear of the car. I knew I was going to wreck - my car moved so quickly and spun to right, knocking me out. From my understanding of the wreck from a man who observed the wreck - I flipped multiple times, was on my side, landed upside down and slid upside down fast and for some distance and hit a tree (?), a stump came up inside the car - Jaws of Life had to remove me. I am recovering and a guardian angel had to be with me to have survived this horrible wreck - something happened in the rear of the car - there is a recall for a crossbar in the rear suspension that can erode due to snow, salt etc...?
Brought in my 2015 Hyundai Elantra for service, mechanic stated it needed an oil pump and an engine and it would take a month to fix. When I asked about a rental I was told that they had no cars. Tie my car up for a month and dont offer alternate transportation. Totally unacceptable. I will never purchase another hyundai ever again.
Hyundai is an unethical company. I own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. At 52,000 miles, we need a new transmission! What kind of car needs a new transmission at 52,000 miles?? The mechanic at the dealership even told us that we may have received a faulty transmission because they shouldnt need replacing at 52,000 miles. Our warranty was 2 months out of warranty so the dealership was optimistic that headquarters would still pay for the transmission and service because our car had such low miles and had so recently gone out of warranty. After the Hyundai dealership went back and forth with Hyundai headquarters, they told us they were unwilling to cover the cost of the transmission! The customer service was absolutely horrible. I have never had such a bad experience with a car company in my life. Hyundai should treat people more ethically instead of trying to squeeze me of every drop of money out of consumers they can.
I had my 2007 Hyundai in to my local mechanic for an oil change and they told me I needed a battery. I decided to have my husband change it in order to save some money. I turned out that the battery was okay but the terminal was not closing all the way. We went to several auto parts stores but none had the correct part. We contacted our local Hyundai dealer and they said that part was not stocked or sold. We would have to buy a wiring harness that connected the battery terminal to the battery post and then to the starter at a cost of $380. I said that was absurd and would not buy it. Luckily, my husband is handy and was able to fit a terminal with some sort of connection to the wiring harness. Because my husband had to put a non-Hyundai part on there is no cover on the positive battery terminal, I dont know if this could be dangerous or not; if you are expecting the protection of the cover, its not there.
I have two Sonata 2015, which I have taken in for recalls and both days which has taken a total of five hours and ticking, and I was not impressed with how you come in for these services and you are not forewarned of the waiting time and, they keep bringing you a problem that you say no way. I havent had this car two years yet. I had work done on one of them on yesterday and by the afternoon, it was running okay before I took it in. Now the front end is shaking. Thinking of taking it to another dealer, and see what they say, and trading it. Too many problems for a car not owned two years yet and hours to fix and no replacement in doing it.
Premier car should have quality parts installed or repair the part for the customer at no cost. Plastic cover over sensors should be on a recall. Plastic cracked on the 2015 Genesis with less than 2,000 miles and Hyundai wont honor it. Way out of coverage is they saying a rock struck it with no sign of damage on the cover except its cracked.
I was really excited to buy my first Hybrid. I have long commutes to work and wanted a car that could save me gas mileage. This car is a 2018, at the time of this writing it is now 2021 (4 years old!). In the time that I have bought it, the car died twice on the highway commuting to or from work. The first time it died there was no check engine light warning to indicate any kind of prevention to get the car looked at. I was just driving home and then a big yellow icon popped up. I was able to coast my car off the road and turn it off. I waited a bit and then turned my car back on. I was able to safely finish driving home before calling the service department at the Hyundai dealer in my area to take a look at it. After they finished and I paid for their services, no satisfactory answer was given for why it died or what could be done to prevent it. Just something about some kind of water hose being replaced??The second time my car died was this past Nov 1st. The day before I heard noises coming from my car but I couldnt be certain. Again no check engine light or anything. So as I drove to work again on the highway all of the sudden a check engine light comes on and my car dies. I barely make it to the side of the road again with smoke coming out. I called AAA to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer. They wont be able to look at it until mid December. All the local Hyundai dealers were booked. I took it to an auto repair shop to run diagnostics and was told my engine had seized. I would need to replace the engine. This car is only 4 years old, I cant believe it. Right now once I get my car in the shop, I am praying the manufacturer will cover replacement of the engine which I was quoted costs $10k! My remaining car loan is more than that. Come next year, whether replaced engine or dead car Im selling my losses and chucking it. Hence, my presence on ConsumerAffairs. Looking for a better reliable car. (Sigh) Hopefully I can warn others. Its comforting to see my experience is not unique to me.
Why is it that whenever you buy the extended warranty and then need the dealership to honor that warranty, it covers everything except the work that you need? I have a 2012 Elantra with the extended warranty and the AC broke. Now Piazza Hyundai in Limerick PA says it will cost me over $700 to replace. This is fraud. What else could it be.
There has been problems with the suspension on this 2007 Santa Fe since 2010 with very low mileage. It took 5 to 6 visits before the dealer would even admit a problem. Problems with tie rods, lower arm assembly, stabilizer links, lateral arms bilaterally with no resolution of clunking metal to metal sound from front of vehicle. Now that the car is out of warranty supposedly, the dealer conveniently finds the lower arm on the right needs replaced. Hyundai needs to admit to widespread suspension problems without dragging on until out of warranty. I still have 100,000 mile warranty with only 80,600 miles but supposedly, this is not a covered service even though it all started at 48,000 miles.
Our 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is at the dealers now. Recalled item was handled previously and failed. However, they say they only fix once - so want us to pay $900+ to have same issue handled. Valve cover gasket allows oil to leak onto alternator, which then fails. Our car is STUCK in Hendersonville because we cant pay for the repair. On our 2011 Hyundai Veracruz: If there was a recall and it had been fixed correctly, the issue should be solved. It is not and the alternator has failed again. There seems to be a manufacturers defect and that is what should be fixed.
Bought a new Hyundai Elantra in 2002 and the transmission went out at only 80,000 miles. To fix transmission ranges from $1000 to $2500. That is more than the Blue Book value of the car! Hyundais are JUNK! Get a TOYOTA or a HONDA instead.
We purchased a Hyundai Eon car on June 2013, Hans Hyundai, New Delhi and as of now, i.e., December 2018 it has 7,900 kms on it. We are facing the following issues with the car: (i) EPS light coming on and the power steering feels too hard - I took it to the workshop and they say the power steering module isnt working and needs to be changed. (ii) Air conditioning not working - The workshop says gas isnt there. (iii) Boot door doesnt stay open - The workshop says both boot struts arent working and needs to be replaced.To our surprise, the car which has not even been run for 8,000 kms has all the above failures. This shows the poor quality & workmanship of your product & it is not acceptable. We as customers buy your vehicle considering the reliability & quality of the cars. I have a HYUNDAI 2013 HYBRID SONATA. From as soon as 2 weeks after delivery, I knew the car wasnt right. Gas mileage never near supposed to be. Told due to break-in period. Hyundai engineers say no break-in period. Car hesitates, stalls, brakes lock as well crappy gas mileage. Well been complaining ever since after the break-in period. Then its the way I drive, weather conditions, etc. Finally a noise from the EV motor and then the gas mileage drops another 200 miles per tank bringing me to about 25 miles gal. The noise Im told is the electric water pump. One has been ordered and I ask, Can that be the smoking gun? The service rep. says no. Now being a lay person, I know more about these cars than I ever wanted to mechanically and obviously more than the mechanics employed to service. Common sense tells me theres a correlation and lo and behold so do the articles when I google water pump failure and hybrid though not Sonata. Yes hybrid. All my complaints and issue are shown to be part of the electric water pump again in different automaker but hybrid. Now theres 13,000 miles on car and Im sure this water pump was bad from the get go so what damage could it have caused to the hybrid system? I dont care to find out going after lemon law as this is the 4th time in and now I hope to be able to prove its not me nor the elements all cars operate under. The car is bad. My car mimics the problems found for the 2012 hybrid. Wonder if the first production of 2013 may have carry over issues. So anyone experiencing problems may want to wait till you hear the buzzing of the bad electric water pump. Its an obvious annoying noise. *I ASKED THE DEALER, REALLY, DO YOU THINK IM BACK AGAIN BECAUSE LIFE IS BORING? IF YOU DO, YOURE SADLY MISTAKEN. And no, its not found on computer or diagnostic review. They told me they follow the noise. So having it checked. I dont know how you could do this without paying on your own to replace. Just keep bring it back so you tally those request. Hopefully you meet lemon law outline. My $25,000 headache is a full time job tracking tach pictures at fill up and keep records... Good luck
I purchased a 2019 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate about two weeks ago. The first week I had it I noticed when it was in the sun the back bumper and lift gate had these 3D swirls in the Black Noir Pearl paint. The dealership had the car redone with Zurche but still had the same issue. I took it back to the dealer and they had someone buff the entire car. This made the situation worse as the marks were still in the paint and he did a poor job detailing the car. I took the car home and spent 3 hours detailing the car myself to fix the issue from the detailer. Regardless to say the marks are still there. My wife noticed today that I have a big scratch under the spoiler. The dealership was going to allow me to pick another car, but they did not have any and it had to be today. So to make a long story short I wish they would just take the car from me like I never bought it. Very dissatisfied customer for a car that is only 2 weeks old when it was valued at 35 thousand dollars.
From the car buying process, getting the car serviced, returning and paying off the car, this experience was a nightmare. I was constantly told one thing, only to be misled and overcharged. I wouldnt recommend buying a car from Hyundai to anyone. Save yourself the money and headaches and go elsewhere.
This 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, is my 7th Santa Fe since 2001. I love the car. More room than the Toyota Rav 4, or the other SUVs in this class. As of now, there is a recall for the car. I have spoken to several owners who have had the recall fixed, and the problems with it are a nightmare. The updated software obviously isnt doing the job. The car will slow down (at any given time) if the software registers a problem. I drive on highways all the time, with my 2 yr. old grandson in the car. I cannot afford for the car to indiscriminately slow down when I have a tractor trailer or other cars driving behind me at 70 - 80 miles per hour. I offered to sign a waiver to say I do not want the recall done. They wont do it as they feel it is a safety issue. My car is fine. The fixed software issue is the real safety issue. I called the corporate office, who is referring me to a case manager. But the corporate office already said if there is a safety recall, the have to fix it, period. I asked him if there is a form that Hyundai will sign to say if I get into an accident because of the recall, that I hold them responsible for that. They cannot do that. Not that I thought they will. But I would like to have it on record, here, that I do not want it fixed, and if it is fixed, and I have a severe accident that I or my family will sue the Hyundai company. Unfortunately, my family will have lost myself and my 2 year old grandson if this should happen.
I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Sonata in 2008. My daughter has a 2006 Hyundai Sonata that she purchased in 2008. Her sun visors broke and hang down in the way. Now my driver side sun visor is broke and hangs down in the way. If this was just one vehicle, I wouldnt think too much about it. But now it has happened to both of us. The metal bar that the sun visor is on just will not turn in the plastic part to go up and down. And the plastic part broke. I did call Hyundai at 800-633-5151 to see if there were any recalls. I was advised by Jared that there were no recalls. I think there needs to be a recall, because I am sure it cannot just be our 2 cars. I did ask if there was anything that could be done. My car is over the year and mileage (64000). Thanks.
I purchased three Hyundai vehicles in less than 12 months. The third vehicle I purchased was the 2013 Hyundai Tucson. This vehicle has went to the shop for repairs from July to Today, September 16 for transmission problems. After replacing the transmission on August 13th, I had to tow it to dealer because I broke down on Sunday, September 14, 2014. This was the 4th visit to the dealer since the initial complaint in July. Wow to my surprise I was told at Hyundai Plaza Mall Service that it was the driving of the vehicle that made the axle jump out of the transmission. I or someone was throwing the vehicle in park, reverse without coming to a stop. I cant figure out if that was my driving behavior. Why did not this occur on the other cars I had bought from there? I give their service a thumbs down and I have definitely lost all trust in the Hyundai brand.
My 2017 Hyundai ELANTRA that I bought new has 73,000 miles and the engine has blown up, We have service records HYUNDAI refuses to fix my car! It sat at the first dealership where we had it towed for SIX WEEKS after it overheated with NO WARNING! This dealership told me several different things were wrong with my car...Then they finally told me it could not be fixed it would have to have the Engine replaced. Dealership told me it WOULD be covered under warranty because we were under the 100,000. I asked to have it moved to what I thought was a more reputable dealership because of the length of time it took them to tell me what was wrong with my car and the different things they said were wrong with my car. I had lost faith in that dealership but at the time still had faith in Hyundai! We also had spent six weeks with no car!!I was afraid dealership number one could not fix my car because they stated they only had one mechanic and were a much smaller dealership! Had car moved to second dealership who I thought was more reputable after they received it seven days later Hyundai CORPORATION is now saying it is NOT covered under warranty! So I was chastised for moving my vehicle From one dealership to the other! I have the same service records I gave to the second dealership that I gave to the first dealership where it was covered under warranty! If you can help in this matter please email me at **.
Since the purchase of 2006 Sonata, I have had to have seat belts, seat, sensors for air bags repaired due to air bag light staying on. This car has been repaired for air bag light six times under warranty and now will cost $325 for the same parts originally replaced. Average miles between repairs of air bag is less than 1 every 6,000. Once, there was less than 200 miles between fixes.Dealer states repair not covered under extended warranty. Awaiting call from Hyundai CS. If not covered, I will probably have to do without air bag system working because they obviously have a defective system and cost is too high to repair every 6,000 miles
Leased a vehicle and when I got the seatbelt wouldn’t work. Had to take it In, yr later AC stopped working. Car has been at dealer for 4 days and they don’t know when it will be done. No compensation, wouldn’t give me a rental nor any help from Corporate. They said they will call me back in 10 business days. They leased me a LEMON and left me hanging in every way. I do not recommend Hyundai or any of their parent companies because they don’t care about the consumer whatsoever. Worst experience of my life, never again.
My 2007 Hyundai Entourage at 49,798 miles had to have its pulley replaced at my expense. Obviously the part was defective. The dealer said there was no implied warranty, so I had to pay $279.57 for the labor and part. I never had a pulley replaced on any car I owned. One van had over 250,000 miles on it, and the pulley on it was still good.
