The Tucson offers a spacious interior, modern digital features, and multiple powertrain options including gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions.

Overview

The Tucson is a five-passenger compact SUV with a focus on everyday usability. It combines a comfortable ride with practical cargo space and a wide range of driver-assistance technology.

Key characteristics include:

• Seating for five passengers.
• Available front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
• Gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
• A spacious interior with modern digital displays.

The vehicle is designed primarily for families, commuters, and drivers who want SUV practicality without the size of a larger vehicle.

Engine and Powertrain

The standard gasoline model uses a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine.

Engine specifications include:

• Horsepower: 187 hp.
• Torque: 178 lb-ft.

The Tucson focuses on comfort and stability rather than aggressive performance.

Typical performance figures include:

• 0–60 mph acceleration around 8.8 seconds for gasoline models.

The vehicle’s suspension system uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension, helping deliver a balanced ride and predictable handling.

Drive modes such as Normal and Sport allow drivers to adjust throttle response and transmission behavior.

Fuel Economy

• About 33 mpg highway.
• About 28 mpg combined.

Hybrid models deliver significantly better fuel efficiency, reaching around 38 mpg combined.

Towing Capacity

The Tucson offers moderate towing capability for recreational use.

Maximum towing capacity includes:

• Up to about 2,750 pounds when properly equipped with trailer brakes.
• About 1,650 pounds without trailer brakes.

This makes the vehicle capable of towing small trailers, lightweight campers, or recreational equipment.

Interior and Passenger Space

The Tucson’s interior emphasizes comfort and practicality.

Interior highlights include:

• Seating for five passengers.
• Available leather seating surfaces.
• Heated and ventilated front seats on higher trims.

Cargo space is one of the Tucson’s strongest features.

Cargo measurements include:

• Up to roughly 74 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

The wide rear hatch and flat cargo floor make loading luggage, groceries, or sports equipment easy.

The Tucson features a modern digital dashboard with multiple technology features.

Common technology features include:

• Large touchscreen infotainment display.
• Digital instrument cluster.
• Wireless smartphone integration.
• Bluetooth connectivity.

My father owned a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Previously the car had shown multiple failures such as the steering unexpectedly locking or brakes making loud obnoxious sounds. A few days ago my sister and mother had gotten into a car accident. The car had went airborne and went head first and hit a curb. The car is currently totaled and my mother had multiple injuries. The airbags had not opened during the process. This is outrageous and we would seriously like to have this problem solved. Luckily no one was in critical condition, but still this should never happen.

The car drives fine, however am having a lot of issues with headlights and taillights having to be replaced. Not really happy with it. Headrests push head forward causing continual discomfort. Windshield angle makes it hard to clean windshield and dashboard. I also wish there were added wide view rear view mirror, or side mirrors that would show blind spots. Even so, I like having controls for my music on the steering wheel. Its a nice safety feature. I also like the number of miles/gallons feature. Nice to have a quick visual of how far you can still drive on the gas you have. Like the Bluetooth connection as well.

I purchased a Hyundai i20 Magna from Joshi Automobiles Mohali Punjab. At the time of delivery, several things were not provided to me though they said they’ll deliver it to me within few days. Even when I got my car insured from Joshi Showroom twice, every time, the insurance policy was sent after 6 months. Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.

I had to laugh when I read Hyundais stated goal which they claim is to create satisfied customers, because this has not been our experience at all. In fact, my wife and I have made a promise to each other to never buy another vehicle from this dealership or another Hyundai period. I have to tell you, we usually buy new vehicles every 2-3 years because we dont want to deal with any service issues as we are busy people. Changing oil and general maintenance is about as much as we care to deal with. We normally purchase our vehicles from Toyota. In 30 years we had never had trouble them! In fact, we never had to do more than oil changes and basic care. They never broke down, all their parts worked at all times and we never got a lemon. We were so satisfied that although we wanted to try a Honda last time we were apprehensive. However, we LOVED our CRV! I miss it, and regret trading it in because unlike the Hyundai, it worked! Our CRV required mechanical assistance once in the first five years! Very shortly after the warranty expired the transmission went out! I was horrified, because I knew my warranty was up but Honda didnt think it was fair as our warranty had just ran out. Not only did they fix it free of charge, it was too new so they could not find a rebuilt transmission and put in a brand new transmission! That is the level of service we are use to, and we have found Hyundai to be the exact opposite! Our experience has been disappointing at best. We have been lied to, deceived, laughed at and disrespected. We got the runaround from the very beginning when we agreed to allow the salesman run our credit for a particular vehicle. We made it very clear that this was the vehicle we were interested in. In fact, we refused to let him run it until we picked out the vehicle we wanted to buy...then in the middle of the deal our salesman got up and left and another one came out to finish the deal. This shady salesman made the first kid look like an angel. This guy switched us into a vehicle that had more wear and mileage without our consent. My husband was exhausted after they wore us down for hours and decided to just get the car, but then we noticed that things were not working on the way home...both sales people said that I could plug my iPhone into the USB to charge it. We travel a lot and this was the main feature that had us interested in this model and it was the deciding factor on buying from Hyundai. The second salesman told us that he knew the owner personally and that the owner prided himself on providing excellent customer service and that he had his number and if he was unable to help us with any issues we could call the owner himself and he would take care of it. I later asked for the owners phone number and was laughed at and refused the number. However, that USB port was the initial reason why we chose the Hyundai instead of some of the other vehicles we had looked at around town. When we purchased the vehicle I asked about a second key and the salesman assured me he just needed to look for it and that it was there...because he had it earlier that day. When I reminded him we needed that other key fob, he looked for it and claimed it was missing and assured me that they could simply make us a new one real quick. I was concerned. He never found it. Now I am even more concerned because it is totally possible that these unethical people that I dealt with may have said key fob! After the deal was done, the story changed so we would have to make an appointment to get that key fob made. We reminded the salesperson again before leaving and he said he would call with an appointment time.On the way home we found something else wrong in the vehicle. We were never allowed to even test drive or choose ourselves! That USB port did not work at all! I was told that I could charge my iPhone with this USB port. I asked several times if they were sure it would work with my iPhone 5C and was assured that it would. I was upset because we made it clear that we wanted to buy a new car and I was assured that this vehicle was never used for anything but test drives. I dont know of many dealerships that allow animals on test drives. Yet, the air conditioner was blowing out pet fur! Upon further inspection I found dog or cat fur all over... I am allergic to cats and most dogs unless they have hair instead of fur and this was fur. Also, on the way home we stopped at the store and planned to stop a few more places as well but we could not get the back hatch to lock...which was a security and safety concern. I called and most of my concerns were dismissed and made light of. The second salesperson (they switched in the middle of the deal) did not believe there was dog hair so he wanted us to bring the car back to show him, so we did, driving all the way back to Bend. I think he knew it was there all along but figured we would just not want to hassle with it. I was insulted as he made it sound as if I was a liar which took a lot of nerve after just making one deceitful claim after another to us. He made me think that we could exchange the car for another new car and this was the only reason we agreed to that drive. He acknowledged the presence of dog hair and did not know how that got there. We do not own any pets. He basically did nothing to assist us at that time and thus the trip was a waste of our time. He promised to make an appointment to have the fur removed and all scents removed and to have car mats installed. The salesman called to say he made an appointment to have the car treated to eliminate scents and hair, have the USB port fixed and the back latch fixed. After calling to insure the parts were in we arrived at the appointment and were asked, Oh did you make this appointment online? All of the parts were not there but they said they could replace the key fob and that they kept the mats in stock and they did not need to be ordered as the salesperson stated! However, the machine used to get out the hair and scent was never arranged.I was there all day long. They wanted me to make yet another appointment to finish the work. Then they wanted me to leave my vehicle for a few days so they could order the part again and get it fixed. Its a good thing I did not agree to that because it was at least two weeks before they called back! My husband did not trust them by that point anyways and flat out refused to let me leave the vehicle there. They claimed that the treatment for the hair would take most the day so I suggested that they just fix the latch and the key fob and make it right in some way as I had picked most of the hair out of the vehicle myself by the time of the appointment (resulting in an asthma attack). I could not drive it the way it was and had to do something. That day they literally had not done anything all day long. The key fob was not fixed, they said they ordered a defective one and they needed to reorder that... The only thing that was in and all they did all day long was to put in car mats that would have taken less than five minutes yet they made me wait several hours...only to tell me that I would have to make an appointment and return to Bend...yet again. Before they even started I asked them if they had the parts and was told yes. This has been a huge waste of my time for a car I never wanted. I wanted the one we test drove that they sold out from under us. This is hardly a way to make a customer satisfied! So, we came back today and guess what? Even though we checked twice this time to make sure parts were in, they were not! We were lied to time and time again. I have the messages from both incidents and both messages say all of these parts are in...yet they were not. Yep, we got there today after calling and speaking with Mr. Nasty Tude, I mean Mr. ** and was assured once again that the parts were in. When we arrived ** was there and we told them we had a bad experience last time and wanted to make sure all the parts were really there before they started as we did not have time to waste. He was rude which just added to our frustration. My husband told him that I had already spoken to someone in Corporate and to just leave the hatch alone and fix the USB. He gave me a smart ** acknowledgement and held out his hand for the keys. It was a good half hour before they took the car back even though they were not busy and there was no vehicle in the bay they pulled it into. ** was nasty saying we must have made this appointment online...that seems to be the standard answer for everything in your non-service department. We did not make this appointment online.WE did not want to make another wasted trip to Bend so even though after two weeks they finally called to tell us that the part was in we called back before leaving for the appointment this morning to insure that the parts were indeed there. We asked ** when we arrived and he said all of the parts were there, they were not but he did not care and said we would have to make another appointment to come back. When we told him that we called ahead of time to insure the parts were in and checked with him when we got there he got even ruder and said that he wanted us to leave and never come back into the service department/dealership. Not a problem! But please know that I will be reviewing this dealership and that this time I will contact corporate in writing for legal purposes. Please note that I have not forgotten my promises to add reviews. I have a draft ready to go and my husband is currently working on the complaint for the BBB. We have given your dealerships more opportunities that it deserves. We would love to prevent this, we want you to make this right, go back to the beginning and give us the vehicle we ran our credit to purchase. The same one or a 2015 model that is brand new without scratches, dirt, dog or cat hair, etc. We should not have to deal with defective parts, as we purchased a new vehicle, not a used one! Written promises were made and part of our purchase agreement. The dealership failed to meet these and therefore it cancels this contract and we want our Honda back within 7 business days or we will take legal action. We have given the dealership many opportunities to make this right with no resolution and have been treated with grave disrespect. This is the worst car dealer I have ever dealt with and I will be filing a claim with the BBB.

I would like to tell you about the service I received Hyundai in Downingtown, PA. I recently took my 2013 Hyundai Tucson for an oil change and state inspection which I was impress of how quickly it was taken care of. They provided great service and I was happy to return for more service. Due to a poor wheel alignment the service department had recommended that I replace my rear driver tire so that my car can pass inspection. When I left the dealership I heard a loud noise from the back tires. At first I thought it was from a wheel alignment that they recommended I needed. During the week, I notice the noise getting much louder to the point where I felt it was unsafe to drive. I went online to see if there was an appointment available but there wasnt so I decided to go to my local Firestone to get a second opinion. I described the noise and how a wheel alignment was recommended. During their inspection, they discovered that my new tire that was replaced by Hyundai was extremely loose and only hand tighten. I am so disappointed because I really thought I received great service especially being the end of the day but instead my life was at risk. I seen it for myself how the lugs were only hand tighten and the wheel shook by touch. This is my second Hyundai vehicle and second Hyundai dealership that Ive dealt with and I was never disappointed until now. I was able to speak to the service manager which he kindly took the time to see the vehicle. In return of risking my life he offered a complimentary oil change and to speak with the mechanic who worked on my vehicle because apparently thats what my life is worth. I will never trust the service of Hyundai again. I can only hope they will learn from this situation so that other customers will not be at risk.

I bought a new 2016 Tuscan a few days ago and finding welcome light in the handle doesnt work. Door courtesy lamp doesnt work and acceleration is bad. Ive contacted the dealer (Sisley Hyundai) and they have asked me to take the car to the dealership. So far I have taken it back to the dealership twice. They couldnt give any satisfactory answer, neither could solve the issues so far. They have asked to take it back again but I feel they are just killing time and cannot do anything. These seems like a factory defect as I find lot of customers are also complaining the same. Hyundai Canada needs to recall this car immediately. And I would rank this car as - do not buy.

I am leasing a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. My lease is coming up in 4 months... Ive never had an issue with my car and its the second vehicle that I lease from Hyundai. I am writing this because I am not very impressed with the service that I am receiving from the company. Let me start by telling you what happened. A few days ago I was driving down the hwy and my car just stalled. All the lights went on on the dash and the RPMs went to zero. I was lucky that it wasnt a busy hwy and was able to coast and pull over safely along the side of the snowplowed road. I got my car towed to the dealership and they are trying to say that it might be my fault and that I will be responsible for the cost! Its been there 3 days already and They have not told me whats going on. I am without a vehicle and am stressed out waiting to see how much it will cost me for repairs. I do not believe that I should pay for this because I had no warning light come on to tell me that the oil was low or if I had an engine problem. I believe that it is a mechanical problem because there certainly is an alert that appears when the car is low on windshield washer fluid and the same should be for the oil level!! I just want Hyundai to come clean and take responsibility for the engine malfunction!! And to have better customer service by keeping their customers informed!!I will let you all know the outcome.

I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work. When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.

My husband was in a serious automobile accident and passed away because of the injuries in October. He leased a Genesis and the lease was up in October. When I turned in the car I ended up owing over 2500 because of mileage overage fees. I had wrote the CEO of Hyundai and the President of Hyundai finance to waive the fees. We incurred the overage charges because we had to go see my critically injured husband in the hospital and drove over 100 miles each day. They would not waive the fees and submitted the fees to collection which lowered my credit score. I have incurred medical expenses due to my husband death and had to sell my home. I am unable to get an apartment thanks to Hyundai. My credit score was lowered and I did not qualify. I did pay this bill in full and I still had my credit score lowered. I will never buy another Hyundai again. My husband and I did love our cars but I was just blown away with how heartless these people are. We have leased two cars from Hyundai and I bought my car. They clearly got quite a bit of money from us already but they did not have the heart to help out a widow who had medical bills and is just trying to survive. In fact I am trying to figure out where I am going to live right now. I had a friend who also lost her husband and the car dealer waived the overage fees. It was not Hyundai. I wish I bought my car from another dealership. Heartless, Heartless, Heartless and Greedy.

I was a supportive Hyundai customer, owning a 2003 Tiburon GT and a recently purchased 2013 Veloster, until this disheartening event. My airbag light illuminated on my Tiburon, so I did a little research online and came to find that the 2003 Tiburon was recalled for this. The cause is actually the wiring within the seat belt mechanism. You can actually manipulate the light by wiggling the seat belt holder. So, I contacted Hyundai Customer Care America, spoke to a pleasant and professional attendant, and after her research, she told me that it was a recall item and it would be covered by Hyundai; and she said I should go to a dealer asap. It sounds perfect, but that was soon about to change. I went to the dealer, left the car, and was then contacted by the service department and was told that this was not covered. I told them the agent’s name, case number and campaign number, but this did not change the situation. They told me that the repair would be $293. I sent off an email shortly after to Hyundai consumer affairs and CEO of Hyundai America. I received a response back from consumer affairs with a negative result again. You would think that Hyundais foremost concern would be the safety for their customers, seeing as this was a safety issue, with a possibility of the airbag deploying. When I wrote to them, I told them how disheartened I was, and in return, they told me, in closing, thank you for being a part of their Hyundai family. How patronizing is that!

I was in an auto accident on 01-09-2012 in a 2002 Hyundai Sonata. It was a front end collision and my car was totaled. My air bags did not deploy and the claims adjustor and a certified mechanic said with the impact they should have. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and have a port catheter in the right side of my chest. Upon impact I hit the steering wheel causing painful bruising to the chest, especially where the port is located. I had a dye test and they found a blood clot around the port. I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded. When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

I received a letter from Hyundai with the promise of ten $1.00 gold coins if I went to my local Hyundai dealer on specific days. I did bring the letter as I was told and spoke to the person from Hyundai that was handling that promotion. Although I did not buy a car that day, I was told that the gold coins would be mailed to me in 7-10 business days. It has been over three weeks and I have not seen any coins yet. This deal was at King Hyundai in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I really feel that this is a real come on and false advertising. I am not sure I would return to this dealer (although I have bought a car from them before) and I am not sure I care to buy another car from them when I decide to buy. Hopefully, you can straighten out this problem and send me the money I am entitled to.

This Hyundai car is just the right size, the amount of gas it burns is great, it gives a comfortable ride. There is plenty of room for passengers, the trunk is very large and great room for suit cases and groceries. Having front wheel drive and it handles well in the snow. Also, it has air conditioning, cruise control, CD player with an AM/FM radio, a five speed automatic, rear window defroster and keyless lock. Another feature is that the rear seats fold down allowing you to place big objects in the back, if the trunk is not big enough. The car also has driver and passenger side air bags. Though it did not have a spare tire it did have a tire inflator that can plug into an accessory socket. But I wish the car had a bigger engine because it lacks power and a rear camera would make it more easy to back up, it should also come with Bluetooth to make pairing with smart phones and MP3 players.

Lights in the dash start lighting up and my back lights work sometimes. I keep buying headlights and brake lights. Right today my car is fixed because the dealership said they couldnt find anything wrong with my car. They gave me a loaner car and kept my car for about a month but did nothing to it. I also complained to them that my valves was tapping, but they said its how the car suppose to sound. Its just so much going on with my car but Hyundai dealership dont care about the customers. Its not right and you still owe lots of money on the car. I feel I have a lemon.

This 2014 Hyundai Elantra is the worst car I ever own! I had nothing but problems with this car. It stalls out all the time. I have it to the dealership 4 times and they cant find anything wrong. No codes and the plastic piece broken off when I pulled it up to, now the front end where my fog lights are the driver side plastic part has came off, I had my fuel injections cleaned at 15,000 and still this car stalls. This has been a bad experience with Hyundai main office not covering anything on my car and I had my case open 4 times over the same issues. I cant wait to get rid this car, I will never buy a Hyundai again.

From the hundreds of complaints I have read about Hyundai and their airbag lights, Im beginning to understand that you either live with this problem or you find another car. I pulled out my airbag fuse because Im tired of looking at the light and Im certain that this is a problem that neither I (mechanic for 8 years) or a mechanic at a Hyundai dealer could ever fix. My car is a 2003 Hyundai accent. I maintain this car very well and Im happy with the decent gas millage it gets, but safety is also a huge priority. Im not going to put my life on the line because Hyundai doesnt want to provide support for their customers. Let us know what the problem is so customers like myself could at least fix it.Obviously, this is a consistent and similar problem, otherwise you wouldnt have so many thousands of people complaining. Tells us and make the solution affordable, quit lying to people Hyundai. Glad my other car is a Nissan and not another Hyundai. Hyundai = embarrassment.

My car only got 7,000 KM. The trouble with my Elantra, my battery goes dead and have been boosted twice and another time it went completely dead. Had it towed to the nearest dealer. This is a new Hyundai Elantra Limited when it had less than 6,000 KM it started but I had a 2012 which I had the same problems, so I traded for another one. I was told my 2012 had a ground issue. Now I know that I been lied to. Going to my dealer he tell me that the alternator is a low amperage alternator to save weight, and I should consider getting a solar panel and plug it in my cigarette lighter to charge my car. Now I drive some days around 20 KM which should be plenty to charge the battery, and I hardly use any electronics, like listen to the news 20 minutes. Now I dont trust this car because I dont know when Im going to be stranded. Now my Elantra got 7,000 KM and I dont dare to play the radio even to listen to the news, should I get a portable radio with batteries and a solar panel. By the way, once every two weeks I go on a 200Km ride. People are telling me Im being lied to. I have since notified Hyundai head office in Ontario, the phone # is in one of the manuals that I got with the car. Its been two months and no reply yet. They got my email address. Wont even send me an email, so I call again today.October/24/2014, I purchase this car I believe April/9/2014. This car is like you say new, I purchase an extended warranty which I told them I had purchase one from GM and it was worthless. $2400 and they told me that they werent GM, that you could trust Hyundai and they stick to their warranty. It was about a little bit over $1600. My, I dont know what to believe. Am I told lies? We will soon find out and Im about ready to go throughout my iPad just what the problems are about my warranty. I hope its not another lie.

My mother-in-law took her 2004 Hyundai Elantra with 50,000 miles to Olympia, WA to have her car serviced for her move to Georgia. The timing belt was changed, belts changed, oil and fluids changed, system flushed, etc., except for one major thing. When changing the timing belt, it is required that the water pump is replaced as well. The technician did not think that this was necessary. The vehicle broke down about 20 miles from Salina, KS, and it cost $255 for a wrecker and $455 for a trailer to transport the car to the dealership in Wichita, KS. It would have taken another $1850 - who knows what to fix the problem because the water pump that was to be replaced failed and the block is cracked because of overheating. My mother-in-law had no choice but to purchase a new car so that we can continue our journey home.

I purchased my first brand new Hyundai Excel in 1988 and it is still on the road so I took a shot and purchased a brand new Hyundai Accent. The Hyundai Accent runs smoothly and most of all, is not a gas-guzzler. Because I still have the Excel and other vehicles, I do not drive the Accent during the winter months. What I enjoy most about the Hyundai Accent, is yes, it gets great gas mileage but it drives like a luxury vehicle with lots of speed. Colorado roads are in bad need of repair but the Accent drives over most of the unavoidable potholes with ease. The drivers seat is comfortable as well as both the front and back passenger seats. I highly recommend the Accent because it has not caused me any major problems. I keep up with the general maintenance of oil change and tire rotation. I think the makers of Hyundai are doing a great job!

My complaint is against Hyundai USA and Rogers Hyundai for pathetic service. We purchased our car from the deceptive car dealer, Ed Napleton Kia in Elmhurst, with a deceptive warranty sale and forging my name on a document in February 2017. Our Veloster was finally put on the road at the end of February and we hear howling sounds through the roof and found rust throughout the car (engine, under driver seat, and trunk). No floods listed on CarFax through. Hmmmm. The car is supposed to still be under the manufacturers warranty and Hyundai corp rep, Czar was supposed to be helping to resolve. We took it to Rogers in the south loop and their service was horrendous and they are liars. (See Yelp!) They never investigated our concerns. They were rude and ignorant and reported back to corporate they was not told about the rust, although it was in the open ticket and verbally told. Their service center was so backlogged. They would do anything to avoid doing their jobs. After speaking back with Czar at corporate about this, their findings was they were in a mixed state to make a decision, which really mean... WE CANT SERVICE YOU without more inconveniences we are going to cause you. This car was taken to McGrath for the rust originally and now Rogers and both have dropped the ball. Now I am being told to take it to another place to run a diagnostics, leave it, and its your issue to find your way back home since Indiana toll roads are where I heard it and in Chicago, the speed limit is 45 mph and they will not have their service men get a ticket to replicate the problem from an original call back. HYUNDAI CORPORATE DOES NOT BACK THEIR ISSUES, and make many excuses to wiggle out of their warranties.

My car (Santa Fe) was in park in my driveway which has a very slight incline and the car was running. I got out of the car, walked around it to get groceries out and went back to the drivers side to turn the car off. I put my right leg on the seat and reached around the steering wheel to grab the keys. The car started rolling backwards. My left leg was already outside the car and I was to get out but the car door knocked me down. The front tire ran over my right knee, my right elbow and arm, and my right wrist. I went to ER and was diagnosed with severe deep tissue contusions of my right leg and left arm right arm, sprained left ankle and right wrist. I watched the tire run over me and I watched the tire pass 4 from my head as it continued to roll down the driveway making a clicking noise, then jump the curb and stop in my neighbors yard (still in park and radio was on, but car not running). I towed the car to HYUNDAI. They said there was nothing wrong.

In 2011 I purchased a Sante Fe with the in-car Navigation System. The day we drove the car off the lot the maps were out of date. I contacted the dealership and was told it would automatically update. Two years later, we asked again and were told we had to pay $200 to have the maps updated. Now, the car is 3-years-old and the navigation system is so bad it is dangerous. We dont even turn it on. For $200, we purchased a Garmin with free lifetime map updates. So we now drive a Sante Fe, with a built in navigation system, and a Garmin attached to the windshield. Friends are shocked at what we have had to do.Why is Hyundai doing this to their customers? I tried to speak to Hyundai Customer Connect System Lead Laura who gave me nothing but attitude. How outrageous to charge what you do for the system, then expect us to pay $200 each time it needs to be updated. Are you crazy??? Im done with Hyundai. Oh yea, did I mention that the Sante Fe was my third, and now last, Hyundai purchase.

The metal bar that the sun visor is on just will not turn in the plastic part to go up and down. And the plastic part broke. I did call Hyundai at 800-633-5151 to see if there were any recalls. I was advised by Jared that there were no recalls. I think there needs to be a recall, because I am sure it cannot just be our 2 cars. I did ask if there was anything that could be done. Have since replaced all 4 wheels. On 4th set of tires, at 90,000 miles had to replace rear struts and shocks again. I have a 2007 Azera. This is not my first Hyundai, but this seems to be the one I am most disappointed in. I bought the car used in 2011. The car was clean, drove great, was good on gas mileage, then the check engine light came on. I took the car on a regular basis for oil changes and maintenance and when they hooked the car up to find out why the engine light was on, they had no answer. It didnt even register that it was on. So that was perplexing. Ive learned to live with the check engine light - it goes on and off when it feels like it. Then the motor on my sunroof stopped working, it will no longer open or close all the way. About a week ago I was leaving for work and I went to get in my car and the seat was pushed all the way back, now as a woman I panicked and thought someone had been in my car, but that wasnt the case. When I finally felt safe to enter my car (there was no one hiding in my back seat),I adjusted my seat back to normal manually.I started driving down the road and the seat readjusted itself without me touching anything, once again I panicked but this time it was because I couldnt reach the pedals. I turned around came back home and switched cars with my husband because I had no idea what the problem was and I didnt want to get on the highway and not be able to reach the pedals. He drove the car to his work and not only did the seat keep adjusting itself but the steering wheel moved also. On the way home that day, he said it seemed to be fine. Now a week to the day later, today, I was leaving work to come home which is a 48 mile drive, my cars seat was all the way back again. I tried adjusting it, I shut the car off and tried to start over, NOTHING - the seat kept automatically going back. Is this safe? Should I be driving this car when I cant even reach the pedals? Im very afraid at this point that I am going to get into an accident or cause an accident. What do you suggest?

Car lost power while driving down the interstate and engine started to run very roughly. Took it to the closest dealership on my next day off who called me the NEXT day to tell me that I could come and get the car, but its not fixed because they dont have a fault code to be able to fix an issue, even though they can clearly see that the car isnt running correctly. Car is still under warranty, but wont run, and Im supposed to just bring it home??? Does that make any sense to you?? IDIOTS! Then the service advisor goes as far as to try and sell me a tune-up... ON A CAR THAT WONT RUN! RIDICULOUS!Customer care, not much help there either. They tell me a manager will contact me in 3 to 5 business days. I also bought an extended warranty that NO ONE CAN FIND under my VIN #. How does that work? Every other manufacturer has always been able to see my warranty info listed by the VIN#.... why not Hyundai? All this sounds like HUGE runaround tactics to me. A few years ago I bought my new Hyundai Sonata. I still drive this car every day to work, love it. Unfortunately, Hyundai has no customer service when it comes to their finance company/department. After paying off my Sonata 3/24/2015, Hyundai sent the title etc. On 4/9/2015 Hyundai took $491.51 out of my bank account! My wife called and we told them to stop, which they agreed and said it would take 30 days to cut a check back to us for the amount they owed us. Again on 5/11/2015 they took out another $491.51, so this time I called. Their (800) 523-4030 customer service number is a joke. I had to talk to a supervisor who was able to tell me the first overpayment check was in the mail and that it would take another 30 days for the second overpayment check to be cut and then mailed. So, its 6/25/2015 and Im at my wits end... I believe its time for a lawsuit. I called yesterday 6/24/2015 and spoke with a supervisor ** who said he would call back and never did... the only status I received was that the check hadnt been cut and they cant seem to figure out why. Luckily after the second occurrence I contacted my bank and had them block Hyundai from messing things up further. I contacted Hyundai again today on my way to work, spoke with another supervisor who said shes escalated... took my cell number down and said shed call me back... well she never did and its 9pm.I feel that Hyundai finance lacks customer service so bad that Im now to the tipping point of never doing any more business with Hyundai motors in general. Luckily the $491.51 isnt my rent, but I know that nearly $500 is a lot of money to most families. Ive contacted the Corporate customer service who cant do anything about it because the Hyundai Motors Finance is a separate company all together... now I know why. This is the last time Ill ever finance anything without an actual bank or financial establishment, Hyundai... get your act together. Ill be suing for the interest I could have made on over 30 days of the first $491.51 and will be suing for the second $491.51 plus interest until this is settled. I hate to do it because my time is money and its an annoyance, but its my civic duty. I paid Hyundai interest when they loaned me money to purchase one of their cars, so they should pay me for interest when I loaned them money (unknowingly and without approval) until they pay me back in full. In conclusion, steer clear of Hyundai Motors Financing... they have no clue what theyre doing and have no authority to actually service their customers properly.

We have 105633 miles on the 2006 Hyundai Tucson that failed (engine overheated) in the middle of highway when my family with two small children were traveling. No warning and it was an abrupt stop. Called 911 and emergency responders pushed the car to the side. We towed to a dealer who said head gasket is blown and only fix is to replace engine. To further diagnose, the dealer needs approval from Hyundai but, Hyundai says, they will not do further diagnosis because their warranty covers only up-to 5 year and the vehicle can fail after 5 years. They insist there has not been any manufacturer recalls but, I asked them how do they know if there is no recalls if they dont diagnose? Their response was even worse than the ordeal we have gone through. We were almost killed driving this vehicle. Never buy a Hyundai that can only last for 5 years and get killed.

Bought this car 2nd hand from a dealer. Car had low mileage and was in great shape. Two weeks after we bought it with a 3rd party warranty, we found out we could can barely put gas in it. Also we had to get the fuel level sensors replaced because we never knew how much gas we had. We have talked to the dealership we bought it from. They said they couldnt fix anything because we bought it as is. It may take up to 30 minutes to put a half a tank in. Recently we had to take it to a different dealership because the alternator went out which was caused by a leaking valve cover which they replaced the front valve cover and the alternator at no cost. But didnt change the back valve cover which was still leaking as well. Which I would have been more than glad to pay for. Also one day after we got it out the shop now the drivers side floor board is full of water because of something leaking from the sunroof. Which there have been so many complaints about these issues. But all the consumers get stuck footing the bill.

On 8/20/2013 I was leaving the VA clinic, I put the car in drive and pressed the gas. A few seconds later the car sounded like a motorcycle and the check engine light came on. I didnt want to drive it on the highway so I took the main streets. The exhaust got louder and louder and I was afraid it might cause engine damage. I saw a Meineke Car Care Center and pulled in. They lift the car and the mechanic said that the converter gasket blew out. While installing a new gasket he noticed that the gasket flange on the front pipe was a little distorted probably from all the heat. He told me he would have to put a small amount of sealer on the gasket to make up for the gap and that he didnt know if it would hold, but it would get me to the Hyundai service department without hurting the engine. When he had finished and started the car it was perfect. No noise, no leaks. I had an appointment with Twin City Hyundai on 9/12 for a recall problem. I told them what had happened and the Service rep., the service manager and a mechanic looked for almost an hour and took some parts off the front of the engine. The service rep. called me over and started explaining what was wrong with the car. He said, and they ALL agreed that the manifold was cracked and had to be replaced, the converter was no good, and needed a new front pipe, and they may find other problems after they tore it down. Travis said it would cost $1400 to $3000 if the warranty didnt cover it. Travis (the service rep.) said he had to take some pictures to see if the warranty would cover the cost. On Monday 9/16 Travis called and said the warranty was void because it was road damage, and said it would be as much as $3,000.00 to fix it. Travis NEVER said anything about “Road Damage” on 8/20 after the 3 of them had a one hour inspection. After I got Travis’s call I took the car back to Meineke and told them what Twin City said it would cost. They were outraged and called it a scam. Meineke fixed the car perfectly by installing a new front pipe and their inspection showed NO manifold crack, and no need to replace the converter as it was working properly. The front pipe was $200.00.I drove to Twin City Hyundai and acted like I wanted to have them fix the car. I asked Travis to take another look and make sure he was sure about his appraisal, and what the car needed to be fixed. Even though the car was fixed he still said that it could be as much as $3000 but definitely no lower than $1400. That’s when I told him the car was fixed for $200 and that I wondered how many others he had scammed. I then went up and talked to the General Manager **, and explained the fraud that they tried to pull. His comments were “what would you like me to do about it?” I said as the General Manager, I guess that was up to him, and then out of nowhere he says you are banded from brings your car here for warranty service. He tries to punish me for because I caught his people trying to scam me out of $2800.00.

I recently purchased a Hyundai Elantra 2013 two weeks back. After one week, the navigation system voice stopped working and it does not detect my phone too via bluetooth. There is also some burning smell I get when I drive. I paid almost $30,000 for this car with the high rate of interest and it is a brand new car, which I purchased from the dealership. I feel cheated and hurt as it has been heavy on my pocket and I am not satisfied with the car. I would want it to be replaced with a new good model as I did not pay so much money for a faulty car with parts which were not pretested. The navigation system not working in barely 2 weeks is a big surprise to me. As a customer, I feel the service has been pathetic and I would not recommend Hyundai to my friends and anyone else.

I have had issues with the transmission not shifting properly when pressing on the accelerator. I have taken it back to the dealership several times and am always told that it is their new transmission and is normal. Finally, they said they had a reset they could do for it, this seemed to help for about a week. After this things got worse, it not only went back to the chugging with the transmission but also lost power when accelerating from a stopped position (like turning in front of oncoming traffic). I would pump the accelerator for it to finally go. I filed a claim with Hyundai, finally got a call from them and was told to take to dealership, of course they found nothing wrong, everything is working to “their” standard, and that it’s just their new transmissions. I said I had another vehicle (Not Hyundai) that has this type of transmission and it doesn’t do this, she said, Well. This is Hyundai Transmission. Very happy with my 10 year old car. Bought this Sonata brand new. 10 years later I still drive it. I have 156,000 miles on it. I change oil according to book, have replaced battery once. Bought new tires twice. Have not had any major problems. Drive great. I bought it because it had a great warranty. The only complaint I have is with Hyundai service department. They are not very good. Once I learned I could take it any mechanics as long as they use Hyundai parts. Thats the way to go.

Starter of my 2011 Hyundai Sonata went out on August 1, 2012. I work in Oakland so I managed to get it back to Fresno. I took it to Lithia Hyundai Service department. Heath ** was the assigned service advisor. He said they will take a look and get back to me. Well, Lithia replaced the starter and said there was a recall on something regarding the starter. I picked up my car on August 3rd. While driving on August 6th, without warning, smoke started coming from hood area and shortly after a flame. I managed to pull off road to a parking lot where the car died. I immediately called AAA to tow to Lithia. While waiting, I took pictures. Service department was closed so I left in lot until morning. I returned to tell what happened. Heath said they would take a look. He called 20-30 minutes later to tell me engine has hole.Mind you, in returning my car the first time from the starter repair, I was told and given paperwork stating everything else was good. He recommended two tires, an air filter, and front brakes. He assured me everything else was okay. Now one month later, I called to find out whats going on with my car. Heath told me he wants to repair because he can make $7,000. I needed to bring him a receipt of my oil change. I have done that and my car is still sitting in service department at Lithia Hyundai. I called every week but get he hasnt heard from Hyundai yet. I asked him to call me when he does, the pictures hes sending and he didnt comply. He told me it would be done by the afternoon. I went to Lithia and my car was still sitting outside in back of shop. I went back on Saturday and it was on a lift.Heath was not in and no one else could answer my questions. I was told everybody handles their own cases. I returned that Monday and Heath told me he sent pictures and docs. I asked for copy. He refused. He just gave me pictures. I dont know whose car that was from. I have since called every week. He said he has no answer yet. I have been away from work since August 2nd. On August 24th, I lost my job of 18 years. I am not a happy camper. My car is new and has little mileage and it should not have caught fire.

We purchased our 2006 Sante Fe from MJ Sullivan in New London, CT in June 2006. It has the 6 cyl engine with AWD. I just passed the 120,000-mile mark and this car is running like a champ. It is an everyday vehicle and we use it for all driving trips. I had to replace the tires at 95,000 miles because of a puncture in the sidewall (the tires still had about 1/3 the depth of a penny for tread), the brakes at 90,000 (the pads were making a slight scraping sound on the rotors) and the timing belt at 105,000 miles (my mechanic showed me the belt and said it would have lasted another 25,000 miles). We couldnt be more pleased with our car and Hyundai, and we are now purchasing a Hyundai Elantra Limited for my wife. We have never had any major problem with the car and have performed only routine maintenance for the past 6 1/2 years.

Colonial Hyundai and Hyundai in general is one of the worst car companies I’ve ever dealt with. My Hyundai Tucson has been in the service department since March of 2021 to get the engine replaced on it and it STILL hasn’t been fixed! They gave me a downgrade of a rental car to drive and I was made to believe by the service worker (Kimberly) who is over my car that I would have my Tucson fixed in a couple weeks. Since then all I have gotten is nothing but LIES from her and the service department! They recently told me that it could take between the middle of July towards the beginning of August until my car is completed, which is utterly ridiculous! I’ve had 3 case managers since then trying to work on my behalf and they’ve checked for updates and somehow can’t really do anything to get my Tucson fixed any sooner. What’s even more disappointing is that Hyundai will not take full responsibility for their wrongdoing! I called to speak to the General Manager (Talal) of sales to discuss other options. I was suppose to meet with him last Saturday but had another obligation to come up and could not make it. I called to let him know and did not receive a call back. So I called again today so I could see when I could meet with him next but he wasn’t there. I left my contact information for him to call me back but I’ve noticed over time they will not call you back so you have to keep calling. As a customer, I’ve been treated like crap and as if my concerns don’t matter! They really could care less! Hyundai is an absolutely awful company!!!

I went to buy a Hyundai Elantra and after haggling over the price I was guided to a used Hyundai Elantra. I was interested in MPG and this used car had some remaining warranty and looked pretty good but they still couldnt get it to a price I could afford. So they asked if I did have a trade. I told the salesman I had a 2004 Civic which is not running, motor frozen. They said thats okay and added it as a trade to bring the financed price down to what I could afford. We sealed the deal after a full day of bull**. Three days later, the dealer called me and said its not a deal. They would not mail the agreement to the main office. I am so angry with Hyundai after being a previous owner of a 2010 Sonada. I will not go back. I was going to contest this reversal of signed agreement but I would have had to get a lawyer and I couldnt afford it. I now tell anybody that will listen to not buy at City Hyundai of Tallahassee, FL.

I recently sent my 2010 AWD to repair the front ends because of it being very noisy. I had the rotors change and brake pads changed and the suspension link fixed. When I got the vehicle, it drove just perfect. It cost me over $500.00 to fix the front ends. No noise and felt very firm. About 2 weeks after, the noise started again like it was never fixed. My warranty just expired in March 2015. That was about the 3rd time I had to take it in for the front ends. Now what shall I do???

My wife, 64, was driving out one owner Hyundai Accent on a private road about 15MPH when the airbags suddenly deployed without any impact occurring to the vehicle. My wife received severe bruises on both arms and the face and the windshield was shattered by impact from the passenger side airbag deployment. We were fortunate as she was going very slowly and there was no other traffic... Had she been in busy traffic or on an interstate, there would probably have been a major collision and severe injury or possible death. Hyundai local dealership (Perkins Motors of Colorado Springs) was appraised of the problem but refused to do anything. When we contacted Hyundai HQ consumer affairs we were told that they would send us a packet of papers to be filled out and returned to them. They would then let us know in six or eight weeks whether they would do anything. The car is undriveable... And my wife will never drive it again after the scare she received together with the potential for a much more horrible outcome than actually occurred.Hyundai seems to have no interest in seeing the vehicle and figuring out what may have gone wrong and whether it might be a risk factor for other owners as well, despite the obvious implications of consumer risk when airbags inflate without any cause. I volunteered to haul the car to the local dealership at my own expense and inconvenience and they responded that they would not look at it even if I did so unless I agreed to pay for all repairs in advance. One would think that they would care to find out what might have gone wrong. All in all, it has been a horrible experience and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Note to all Hyundai owners: I would have to recommend that you NOT drive your vehicles as the potential for a major accident is very real and, like other manufacturers in the past, Hyundai seems to feel no sense of urgency in finding out what the core problem is and fixing it.

I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

I, myself, own a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that I adore. I used to work for Hyundai, dealing with warranty. My fiance is a Hyundai-certified technician. These cars come with a 5-year/60k miles BASIC warranty. NOT bumper to bumper like many salesmen claim. Batteries are covered 100% for 2 years, and the 3rd year is prorated. Sunroof issues WILL be covered under the 5yr/60k. Tires are not covered, but you have roadside assistance for 5 years, regardless of what you are equipped with to handle flats. My car does not have a spare, I got a flat last month, and they towed me at no charge. No questions asked. If you have a spare, obviously roadside is not needed. But be sure to maintain the spare just as you would other tires. Tires lose air with time. Light bulbs are covered 12 months/12k miles. They are wear and tear as well, so expect to change bulbs once in a while. Maintenance items are not warrantied (tranny flush, brake flush, oil change, etc.). Use Hyundai genuine parts. Trust me. If your engine ends up having issues, and you have an aftermarket oil filter, good luck getting that engine warrantied. I buy Hyundai parts, and follow maintenance schedules exactly how they are written. Most people here would have had a better outcome if they would have educated themselves on the vehicle. Its not hard to do. Im a female, but I know more about cars than most males I know. Dont walk into a dealership with the wool over your eyes. Know your stuff, know the warranty, and know what youre driving. My car is only a year old, with 25k miles, but it has run 100% perfect for me the whole time. I have taken it on long road trips and it handled them with ease. My gas mileage on the highway gets up to 42 mpg! I dont work for Hyundai anymore, so I dont benefit from saying any of this, but I do take pride in these cars. I chose to pursue the medical field again, otherwise I would be a Hyundai employee still. You also have a right to know who works on your car, so ask. My fiance is a master technician with Hyundai, and he treats every car like his own. Go ahead and meet your technician. Discuss your concerns. Trained Hyundai techs will know their stuff and know all of these cars like the back of their hand. Make sure you realize that like every car, they will age and not be perfect anymore 1 day. Cant expect a car with 150,000 miles to run like its new. The 10 year/100k miles warranty is a great incentive to buy these cars, and not many people have to utilize it during those 10 years/100k miles. I would choose Hyundai over Toyota or Honda any day. Read and educate yourselves, people.

My 2016 sonata is a month old. The adaptive cruise system has failed and initiated an emergency stop while driving. The driver door is misaligned and allows road noise into the cabin and water into the sealed part of the door. The drivers side windshield wiper is misaligned and fumbles across the windshield making all sorts of noise. When I went to Hyundai of Serramonte the service clerk directed me first to a body shop. Then to the Hyundai where I purchased the car since it was a different dealer. Then told me the problem was normal and pointed to a far off car and said something like all doors are like that. We then walked over to the other car so I could show him the weather stripping on the other car does not create a gap like is on my car. He then said I can make an appointment if I want and walked off.

We were prepared to pay cash for the car on 12/31/11, but we were told that we would get $500 more off the car if we financed and then we could pay it off. So before we received the coupon book, we sent in an estimated amount for the purchase price plus estimated interest. The next month we received a bill for $11.23 for the difference of additional finance charges which we paid. For the past week, the autodial collection people have called us at least 15 times (over 5 times on 3/26), looking for the monthly payment of $839. Finally, my husband was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor who said our account was paid in full. We have continued to get calls since then for the same thing. On 3/37, we got 2 more calls. I am not that happy with the car to begin with. The gas mileage is way under what was represented. After the experience with the finance people, I will never buy another Hyundai. Also, the phone representatives were rude and the auto-dialer put us on hold several times after we answered the phone. What kind of customer service is that?

I purchased a brand new 2017 Hyundai Tucson on Nov 29 2018. Right now it only has 14300 kms on it. I was driving down a divided highway 6 in the morning with no one else on it besides myself and my child in the vehicle when my rear window exploded into my car sending glass all over my 2 yr old in his car seat. I was right in front of the Police station when it happened and no one was around... Hyundai says that it came from a impact but since I was the only one on the road there was no way that I could have got hit in the rear window. I took pics and brought the car to the dealership and gave them it to them... THEY NEVER even inspected my vehicle, they just emailed the pics to head office where they said it was from a impact. HOW DO YOU TELL THAT IT WAS FROM A IMPACT WHEN YOU NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR TO SEE. I have called places that repairs windows like speedy glass and they even said that it could be from a short in the defrost in the rear window that caused it to explode. Since this happened I have had no satisfaction with this broken rear windshield... Myself and my child were very startled and no one from Hyundai has even done anything but send a email off. I am so very disgusted in the complete lack of everything. This has to be the worst service I have ever had... They never even offered to look over the car, never offered a loaner to get around in and never even offered to make sure the rear window was sealed up so the snow and rain would not get in.Right now I would never buy a car from Hyundai again. My child is scared to even go near this little toy cars because of the fright. I am even afraid of putting him back into the car because if it is a short in the electrical that caused the window to explode, will cause it to happen again... I hope that this message tells the truth behind the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. All I want is my rear windshield replaced at no cost to me... And I want people to actually look over the problem before they say what caused it. YOU CANT SAY WHAT HAPPENED THROUGH A PIC AND NOT LOOK AT THE PROBLEM ITSELF... I can keep going on about this but I think I made my point. I hope that something gets done with this message.

My experience with Hyundai has been one I wouldnt have expected from a reputable company. I was told I couldnt get any assistance with a car I purchased from them in April 2017. Three months after purchasing the car it was in the shop for a check engine issue. I took the car back to see why it was on when I had just purchased the vehicle. Since then my car has been in the shop a total of 8 times to date. I will continue to expose the misrepresentation Hyundai provides to the public on a daily basis with their commercials and other advertisement. As a consumer we all deserve to have the products we pay for to be operable and in good condition. Nelson a representative of Hyundai informed me I would not have any further resolution if I spoke with a manager because they would only listen to him in regards to my complaint directly. I feel every time someone drives a Hyundai vehicle their lives are in jeopardy due to the negligence on production. My car has been in the shop now for over two months to replace an engine that has been replaced for the second time in a year. I can assure you I will never recommend Hyundai products again to anyone. Do not purchase any Hyundai vehicles no matter what they offer you!!!

2013 Tucson GLS 2.4L • Automatic transmission *Hyundai believes 108,000 miles is normal for a motor to seize. That is what Reggie a representative at Hyundai told me. 3/14/2019. In February of 2018 I purchased my 2013 Tucson. My sister was on the highway, driving highway speed, when suddenly the vehicle just lost power completely. She was able to roll to the shoulder safely, but only because it was a light traffic time of the day. Any other time, it wouldve been trouble. She called me right away. I told her not to start it till we got there, when we got there (Tow Truck already en route) there was absolutely no life whatsoever in the engine. The electronics were barely working, but the engine was not responsive.I had the vehicle towed to a shop, to which they told me the following day that the engine was seized, they explained that the oil pump had stopped working. They even took pictures and sent them to me of the piston and the lower motor blown out. How could this be since it only has 108,000 Miles, and I kept up with the scheduled oil and filter changes! Hyundai says this is not unusual! The warranty is only honored if youre the original owner, and I was not. I would never buy or deal with a Hyundai ever again as long as Im alive, and this inconvenience has cost me time, travel inconveniences, stress, and of course...money, not only do I STILL OWE OVER $8,000.00 ON IT, I can not get to work till its fixed. The Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sportage, and Kia Sorento have been reported as having these same issues, but the Tucson absolutely needs to be included, because theyre using the same engine (components) in this model year.

I called Bluelink using my vehicles call button. The back of my vehicle was open because my husband was looking at the flat from a nail I had ran over (which by the way the vehicle worked great to alert me of the issue) and the gentleman on the phone expressed verbally his frustration for having an issue hearing me. He then proceeded to ask me why I had called since someone was already working on it (my husband). Then he hung up on me. Had he stayed on the line I could have explained that we couldnt find the key for the lug nuts. This was a terribly disappointing experience for the first time using this service.

For the price point of this vehicle I expected not to hear anything inside. But it seems as I go 40mph and above I hear air as if the window is cracked open. Hyundai says its road noise but I know the difference. Its a lot quieter in my wifes Juke than in the Palisade. I think the door is to light weight so air noise seeps through. Hopefully Hyundai will find a fix for this. Its probably the only reason so far I would not keep this vehicle.

Love this Hyundai SUV! We have over 200,000 miles on it and it just keeps going and going! Weve gone on many road trips and it handles like a dream. Weve traveled from CA to Florida a couple of times and never any problems. The car holds all our luggage on road trips, keeps us protected and fun to drive. I love the heater/air conditioner, smooth ride, the rear seat folds down to hold our luggage on long trips and for any big items we may buy and very comfortable to sleep in if we need to. But I wish they would make it a little better on mileage.

First of all. My first mistake was buying a used 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car was OK but then after some time the car started stalling and I had my 4 year old daughter with me. Just when I was getting off the freeway it stalled on me twice. The car would make a clicking noise. Took it to the dealership and they said it had to do something with the steering wheel after I paid for a diagnostic check. Anyways it was too much and they said it didnt affect the car. I only ended up purchasing a new battery. Then my car totally gives up on me and stalls. Doesnt want to turn on anymore. Had to get it towed to Hyundai in Cerritos on the last week of February. It needs a new engine and hyundai is taking care of it and a few other cars with the same issue. And its been quite some time now and still have not received the engine and no update on whats going on with my car. But they did call me 3/25/17 to offer me a SPECIAL offer for this recall campaign due to the inconvenience. And at the dealership they hit me with yes you can get a new car BUT you need to put $3000 down. I understand I would be receiving a good deal (employee discount) but this is not helpful at all. Im struggling not having a car and not getting a loaner. and I reviewed all the complaints... its unbelievable. I should have done research before going with Hyundai. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I purchased a 2020 Sonata Ltd 1.6 Turbo in March 2020. Since day one the engine has had a burning smell and I’m wondering how many other Sonata owners are dealing with this. I’ve taken the car in 5 times. They’ve done pressure checks for leaks, reached out to other Hyundai service centers and gone over the car with a fine tooth comb without finding the problem. I reached out to Hyundai Consumer Affairs who basically told me to live with it. So I’m asking, if there are any other 2020 Sonata owners with this problem, don’t let the service center tell you the smell will go away because it won’t. Call their Consumer Affairs at 1-800-633-5151 and lodge a complaint. I paid almost $40k for a car that I can’t even park in my garage because the smell is so bad and Hyundai wont address my problem. Also, if you’re thinking of buying a Sonata be sure to turn it on, raise the hood and put your nose down near the radiator. If you smell that burning coolant, WALK AWAY!! So so disappointed in Hyundai.

Hello, my name is Lincoln and Ive been a proud owner of a 2014 Hyundai Gene
Hello, my name is Lincoln and Ive been a proud owner of a 2014 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0t R-Spec for quite some time now. I love the car and believe the Hyundai family is amazing. Up until recently this year Ive lost all hope, high spirits, and love for the company. I towed my Genesis coupe into the dealership because I was driving one day and seen smoke coming from under the hood. When the dealer checked it out they told me the oil feed line to the turbo had a crack in it. So ultimately oil was spurring out the crack and onto the hot engine bay causing it to smoke up. My 14 Genesis coupe had about 26k on it and still has its 5 year 60k mile warranty active. The dealership look at me and told me they could not warranty the job because theres an aftermarket intake, and exhaust on it. The mechanic said the line looked as if it were touched during installation of the intake and they could not honor my warranty and charged me full price ($325.00) to replace the line. I told the service manager (Jerry) and dealer manager (Dino) I never touched touched anything under this hood. I bought the car with the parts on it and have been driving ever since. So I didnt argue and just bit the bullet and paid for the work because thats the only way I could have gotten my car back so I can get to work. This was in April of 2019. Its now June 2019 and the line cracked on me again. This time I havent even opened under the hood since the car came back from the dealer in April. I was driving in my Genesis with my FAMILY this time and the line cracked and you wouldnt believe what happened. My engine bay caught on FIRE from the same line that was cracked again spraying all over the hot metals in the engine bay. I had to hurry my wife and 6 Month Old baby out the car before anything happened to them. I was able to get a few videos after everything settled down. My Genesis is currently back at South Shore Hyundai in valley stream NY where I originally fixed the car the first time. Im livid not only at the fact that this dealership charged me to fix something I had nothing to do with but the fact that after doing my research on forums and Facebook and other social media pages that this is a common failure point on these cars and Hyundai hasnt come up with a better solution on fixing this!!! Without a question of a doubt I will be starting a legal process of lawsuit. My 6 Month old baby was in the car and this could have gone a whole different direction if I had not noticed the smoke and pulled over to check and seen the car was near to blazing a fire. I have already notified all my family and friends who has a Hyundai (quite a few) that Hyundai isnt as reliable as we thought and their service especially at South Shore Hyundai is far from acceptable. Were all now looking to just go back to Mazda, whos been really good to us over the years. Only reason I left Mazda is because Hyundai had a really hot 2 door sports car that was just a pleasure to look at, but as we can see here everything that glitters aint gold!

Bought 2012 Genesis in July 2012. By Nov. 2012 noted rough ride on freeway and streets with small bumps or cracks would feel like car bottomed out with absolutely no Shock Sense which is still a problem today. Right veering/pull to right very minimal at first but now able to change lanes within approximately 3 seconds. Always told no issue found until recently. After researching the pulling to the right issue, many Genesis and other Hyundai cars have this issue, either right or left. Got Hyundai corporate involved and last time in shop for alignment issue, I drove with service tech to show pulling right issue. He agreed it did pull (same tech who 2 months earlier said there was no pull and even hinges was within specs). There is a Hyundai TSB for 2012 year put out in March of 2012 for alignment issue and how to evaluate it. Right front camber always in negative. Also excessive wear on right front tire even though rotated regularly. Black soot on tailpipe within a few months of having car, always told all OK. On looking up gdi 3.8 engines found this is a problem with need to use top tier gas and supposedly will need to clean intake valves, etc. Just research on Internet very interesting articles about gdi engines. Bluetooth drops phones and have to pair again with different name for phone. Just replaced carbon filter in fuel tank as on filling up gas pump constantly clicking off taking 15 minutes or so to fill up. Hyundai blamed veering to right in December 2015 on radial pull due to bad new tire or tires. We got second opinion from other alignment store and then obtained from where tires purchased. No radial pull noted, suspected strut and camber as camber in negative.Hyundai stated had to tweet subfamily on right to get right camber within specs. Interesting. Still have minimal pull to right but now dont change lanes within 3 seconds or less. For the paint chipping, we scratched or scuffed it up which is not true. We saw the exact same car color and year with the same problem on the frame under the driver door sill. Immediate response from Corporate and about week from their regional manager. Would definitely not buy another Hyundai. So fed up with this.

I havent had this car two years yet. I had work done on one of them on yesterday and by the afternoon, it was running okay before I took it in. Now the front end is shaking. Thinking of taking it to another dealer, and see what they say, and trading it. Too many problems for a car not owned two years yet and hours to fix and no replacement in doing it.

For 5 years, I had my payment automatically deducted by Hyundai Finance for my car. In December, my balance was $59 and they deducted the whole $279. I called and they stopped the auto deduction and they would send my refund within 30 days, which it took all 30 days. At the end of January, I noticed they took out another $279 so I called. They said the auto payment was turned off and they were not sure why it was deducted. They said they would refund it but it would take another 30 days and assured me the auto pay was deactivated. Lo and behold another $279 was deducted from my account today and when I called, bottom line is it will take another 30 days to get my money and nothing they can do to refund sooner.

We have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited with 30000 kms on it and it has been at the dealership in Fredericton, NB for 7 weeks now waiting for a wiring harness which was diagnosed after replacing the computer and fuel pump. The engine light continues to come on time after time. The wiring harness arrived this week after 7 weeks only to discover Hyundai sent the wrong one after being hand made in Korea. Now they tell me they have another one coming from Alabama, amazing how that got there. On top of this problem, since we bought the car new, we have had constant steering problems with the car which cant seem to be fixed, along with the alternator pulsating and the battery going dead. After contacting Hyundai Canada several times, I keep getting the run around and they will not put me in contact with someone that has some decision making power. This car is unsafe to be on the road as it self accelerates when the engine light is on.

Grandson leased a 2013 Elantra while attending college. He was late with his Dec 2013 payment and called to let me know. I called Hyundai and told them I would make the payment. The representative advised me that the January 2014 would be coming due in a short time. I asked her if she could cancel the auto draw (that we had setup) and I would just go and make both payment (as the new semester was starting and there wold be books to buy) but I would only do this if she could guarantee that the account would not be double-billed. She assured me that she was taking care of that as we were speaking and that it would not happen. You can see where this is going. My grandson called me today and informed me that Hyundai had drawn another payment (for January 2014). When I called Hyundai they said that the girl I had talked to had obviously overstepped her bounds (???). I told them that if I knew they could not stop the payment draw, I would have just my the December payment and then transferred the January payment into his checking accounts. When I asked about getting the draw reversed, they said (ready for this) it would take a minimum of 15 DAYS. I told them never mind, just leave it for the February payment. I have already turned off their auto draw and will now subject them to snail mail once a month. When the lease runs out no more Hyundai.

Since there was no evidence of anything flying through the front grill and there was no damage to my radiator the story changed and apparently it ricocheted and caused damage to the condenser.Hyundai deemed it a non-warranty issue. Now I’m going to be charged $800 to fix it. I even took it to a different repair shop to ask their opinion. Those guys said they had no idea how this damage could have been caused without any evidence of any damage to anything else. Hyundai claims to have the best warranty in the industry. I have had several trips to Hyundai for the airbag light staying lit all the time. They said that there was a problem with the sensors under the drivers seat and fixed it. The problem continued, and after the third time, Hyundai said they could not cover it under warranty. Then a recall letter was sent to me, and I had it fixed at no charge. Last week, I was in an accident and totaled the car. I hit someone going at least 40mph, if not more, and the airbags still did not deploy. Nobody was hurt. The next evening, I went to move the car and put it in park and it started jumping and rolling backward. I put it in drive and went forward, put it in park and it did the same thing. I had to put the emergency brake on. I called the dealer. They cant get to the car for 3 days so I have nothing to drive, and to top it off, tell me I dont have any warranty. That Im going to have to pay for repairs. I look at the warranty info online from the Hyundai website and it says that warranties transfer over to new owners. I think this company is a sham and the dealers are worse, trying to rip us off. I am a single woman and feel like I am being ripped off many times over starting with the Myrtle Beach dealer. My mom has been a faithful customer of theirs for years and has purchased 7 cars, 5 of them being Sante Fes, from them in 9 years and has recommended them to many people.
