2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz

Find big savings on Hyundai Automobile(s) at Auto Helpers. Low Prices.

The 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a compact pickup truck that blends the practicality of a truck bed with the comfort and driving dynamics of a crossover SUV. Unlike traditional body-on-frame pickups, the Santa Cruz uses a unibody platform derived from Hyundai’s SUV architecture, giving it a smoother ride and more car-like handling.

The vehicle is designed for drivers who want light truck capability without the size or heaviness of a full-size pickup. It competes primarily with compact pickups such as the Ford Maverick while offering a more premium interior and higher towing capacity in certain configurations.

Overview

The 2026 Santa Cruz is a four-door crew-cab pickup with seating for five passengers and a short cargo bed in the rear. Its design combines SUV styling with pickup functionality, giving owners the ability to haul gear, tools, or outdoor equipment while still enjoying the comfort and technology of a modern crossover.

The vehicle is offered in several trim levels that range from practical base models to more rugged or luxury-focused versions.

Typical trim levels include:

• SE.
• SEL.
• SEL Activity.
• XRT.
• Limited.

Each trim adds additional technology, styling upgrades, or performance enhancements.

Engine Options and Performance

The 2026 Santa Cruz offers two gasoline engine choices.

Base engine:

• Engine: 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder.
• Horsepower: about 191 hp.
• Torque: about 181 lb-ft.
• Transmission: 8-speed automatic.
• Drivetrain: front-wheel drive standard with optional all-wheel drive.

This engine is designed for everyday driving and fuel efficiency.

Higher trims offer a more powerful turbocharged engine.

Turbocharged engine specifications:

• Engine: 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder.
• Horsepower: about 281 hp.
• Torque: about 311 lb-ft.
• Transmission: 8-speed automatic.
• Drivetrain: standard all-wheel drive.

The turbocharged engine significantly improves acceleration and towing capability.

Acceleration and Driving Performance

When equipped with the turbocharged engine, the Santa Cruz delivers strong performance for a compact pickup.

Typical performance estimates include:

• 0–60 mph in roughly 6 seconds.

Because the truck uses a unibody design rather than a traditional ladder frame, it provides a smoother ride and more stable handling than many small trucks.

Towing and Payload

The Santa Cruz offers respectable capability for its size.

Towing capacity depends on engine choice:

• Base engine: up to 3,500 pounds.
• Turbocharged engine: up to 5,000 pounds.

Maximum payload capacity is approximately:

• 1,411 pounds.

These figures make the Santa Cruz suitable for towing small trailers, boats, or recreational equipment.

Cargo Bed and Utility

The Santa Cruz includes a short pickup bed designed for versatility.

Key cargo features include:

• Lockable in-bed storage compartment.
• Integrated tonneau cover.
• Bed tie-down points.
• Available bed lighting.

The truck bed offers around 27 cubic feet of cargo space, which is enough for outdoor gear, tools, or small furniture items.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy varies depending on engine choice.

Typical estimates include:

Base engine:

• About 22 mpg city.
• About 30 mpg highway.

Turbocharged engine:

• About 18 mpg city.
• About 25 mpg highway.

These numbers are competitive for compact pickups with gasoline engines.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the Santa Cruz offers a comfortable cabin similar to Hyundai’s SUV lineup.

Interior highlights include:

• Seating for five passengers.
• Cloth or leather-trimmed seats depending on trim level.
• Heated and ventilated front seats on higher trims.
• Available power driver seat.

Although the front seats provide good space, the rear seats are somewhat tighter due to the compact size of the vehicle.

Technology and Infotainment

The 2026 Santa Cruz features modern digital technology throughout the cabin.

Technology highlights include:

• 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
• Digital gauge display.
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Bluetooth connectivity.
• Multiple USB charging ports.

Higher trims may also include a premium Bose sound system and wireless smartphone charging.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Hyundai equips the Santa Cruz with a wide range of advanced safety features.

Standard and available safety systems include:

• Forward collision avoidance assist.
• Blind-spot monitoring.
• Lane-keeping assist.
• Rear cross-traffic alert.
• Adaptive cruise control.

These driver-assistance technologies help improve driver awareness and reduce the risk of accidents.

Dimensions

Approximate exterior measurements for the 2026 Santa Cruz include:

• Length: about 195.9 inches.
• Width: about 75 inches.
• Height: about 66.9 inches.
• Wheelbase: about 118.3 inches.

These dimensions make the Santa Cruz easier to maneuver than traditional pickup trucks while still offering useful cargo capability.

Pricing

Estimated starting prices for the 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz vary depending on trim level.

Typical pricing includes:

• Base models starting around $29,500.
• Mid-range trims in the low to mid $30,000 range.
• Fully equipped models reaching about $43,000 or more.

Actual pricing depends on drivetrain choice, trim level, and additional options.

Overall

The 2026 Hyundai Santa Cruz stands out as a unique vehicle that blends SUV comfort with pickup truck practicality. Its unibody construction provides a smoother driving experience than traditional trucks, while the available turbocharged engine delivers strong performance and towing capability.

I purchased my preowned car Aug 2013 at Long Island City, NY and I must say that since day one I have had many problems with it. It all started with the wheels making a very loud noise then it escalated, and all the problems were because of recalls. I tried having the dealership exchange my car, and they refused so I ended up with a lemon car then I relocated to Ithaca, and of course my engine seized, and since I have been out here my car has been in and out of the shop. I must say they all been great but I should not continue to have problems with it. Car is paid in full and its only been six years that I have this car and my experience has been the worst. My car came out the last week Monday and I drove it back to New York City, and it didnt seized or shutdown on me but it still dont drive as it should. Smh no good! I been saying it since day one that I got stuck with a lemon car even the body is not aligned smh. Single mom always stressed that I will get stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 8 yrs old daughter. Its so wrong! What a waste of my hard earned money. Im hoping to win the lottery to buy myself a new car that I can drive and enjoy it.

Ever since I bought this car three years ago, I have had nothing but problems. When I turn the steering wheel left or right, in both drive and reverse, it car sounds like you are going up a roller coaster. It clicks so loud! I have replaced tie rods, CV joints, and anything else that was the cause for the clicking over the last 3 years and the car still makes this noise. No one can seem to figure that issue out. In three years, I have replaced the tires 4 times, the brakes 7 times, multiple studs and bolts, and the rotors three times. Its like the car eats anything tire & brake related! Last year I began experiencing what could only be described as the car losing power right in the middle of driving. Also when I would turn the car on, it was so incredibly loud that I thought it was going to fly away or explode. While driving it would jerk so hard to where I thought I was going to break down. It would get stuck staying around 3000 rpm and wouldnt shift past that so going faster than 50 was hard and scary because it felt like the car was going to shut down and sounded like it was going to overheat or blow up. This was brought to the attention of Laurel Hyundai and I was informed that an engine recall was opened on my vehicle, but nothing could be done until the car actually stalled out, caught on fire, the check engine light stayed on, or began showing the required symptoms of engine failure under the recall qualifications. On May 7th of this year, I was driving up hill going approximately 40 mph on a very busy road. I was approaching a stop light and when I went to start slowing down, every light on the dashboard lit up, the car stalled, I couldnt turn the steering wheel, and I couldnt stop the vehicle! The brakes wouldnt even work! I started rolling down the hill backwards and applied my emergency brake. Since my foot was still on the brake, I was able to put the car in park after it stopped rolling backwards and I turned the car off. I tried turning the car on three times and it wouldnt turn over. I tried the fourth time and the car turned on, but the oil lamp light was blinking and the check engine light was illuminated.Mind you I had my 7 year old twin daughters in the car with me when this happened! I immediately drove it to Laurel Hyundai. I was told the car would need to be tested for some sort of noise and if it failed that the engine would need replaced under the engine recall. It did fail the test and I was told that it could be two weeks or two months before they would get the new engine in and I would get my car back. I was given a rental car that got 12 mpg and cost $72 dollars to fill up each week. I did not get my car back until May 31. I only drove it from the dealership back to my house, which is less than 2 miles away. I parked the car and did not drive it again until the next morning when went to get gas. When I started backing out of my driveway, I noticed a giant puddle of oil.I also noticed that when I would apply the brakes, the brake pedal would make a noise, almost like a rubbing click, like there was air in the brake line. Not only could you hear the noise outside of the car, but you could feel it in the brake pedal. Less than 18 hours after getting my car back I had to immediately take it back to the dealership. On my way there the car started making a very loud clanking noise. I parked the car and 3 salesman, the lot manager, and another customer heard and confirmed the clanking noise and the oil leak. It was suggested that it sounded like a heat shield or even a tool being left somewhere in the engine when it was replaced. Because it was Saturday the service department was closed.I was told that I would need to just come back on Monday when the service department opened. The lot manager told me that it wasnt safe to drive the vehicle with it leaking that amount of oil because it could catch on fire. I also did not want to drive the vehicle until Monday because I did not want to make the clanking noise any worse! The lot manager did help me out and provided me with another rental to drive. I asked if the rental could be something more efficient on gas because I just filled up the last rental car that I had the day before, which cost me $74 dollars, and just put $40 in gas in my car and I was not going to fill up a third car. He obliged and gave me one of their vehicles from the lot as a rental.I was contacted on Monday and told that it was leaking oil and it would be fixed and that the noise was from bad front brakes. I just had brand new brakes and tires put on the car in January of this year so I did not believe that, but like I mentioned before, the car literally destroys tires and brakes beyond anything that can be considered normal wear and tear. I was given my car back the next day and sent on my way. On June 24th I had to take the car back because it was still leaking oil!! They fixed the leak for a second time and I was given my car back the same day and told again that the noise was from bad front brakes. A few weeks later, the check engine light came on.I immediately drove the vehicle to the dealership and I was told that the diagnostic test said it was just a loose gas cap and the light was cleared and I was sent on my way. I was a little unsure about this but I had just gotten gas the day before and was told the new computer update made this sort of issue very sensitive to the car and easy to pick up. I had the brakes and rotors replaced on the front of the car since I was told they were bad and the cause of the noise, and yet the vehicle still continues to make the clanking noise. The only issue that was fixed from changing the brakes is that there no longer is the noise coming from the brake pedal and under the car when I apply the brake pedal. On September 17, the car began driving the way it was prior to the engine replacement; trouble shifting, making the loud noise when I turn it on, lacks power when it reaches around 3000 rpm, all those same, nice engine failure symptoms. On Friday evening, September 20, the check engine light came back on and is still on. I know it cant be a loose gas cap because I havent put gas in the car since September 13. I tried to call the dealership on Saturday the 21st and no one answered so I left a message for the lot manager to please return my call. I am so highly frustrated and seriously concerned about mine and my childrens safety while driving this vehicle! Not to mention, Im very wary on taking the car back to this service department. This vehicle has had nothing but issues and 7 recalls on the vehicle, the most important being the engine which I dont even feel like was replaced. Terrible vehicle and service. I will never buy another Hyundai again. Also, Ive tried filing a second complaint with Hyundais Corporate office and the website tells me that my VIN cant be identified or is invalid even though I am typing in the correct VIN and have no issues looking the car up by the VIN on any other website. Therefore, I cant file a complaint with them until Monday during normal business hours via telephone.

Shiny plastic cover over interior driver door latch (to open) began peeling
Shiny plastic cover over interior driver door latch (to open) began peeling off. Before the warranty on this item expired at 60K miles, advised that the dealership had to order another cover. Assuming it is a peel off, stick on type of application. No mention of buying a completely new door latch just because plastic surface was peeling off. In the meantime, a fog lamp went out; one of the door locks stopped working. Dealer advised that none is covered by warranty. Cost of replacing the door latch $150 b/c the entire assembly is apparently required. Cannot purchase the stick on plastic cover. One light bulb for fog light, $75. Replaced one actuator for one door lock mechanism, $460. Service manager could not explain why these outrageous prices for simple repairs were required. Hyundai should allow their dealers to make profit on service, but this type of pricing is outrageous and abusive. I said no, and plan on raising hell in every forum I can.

VIN # **. We recently returned a leased 2016 Tucson, the lease was for 3 years. A letter from Hyundai, dated 13 June 2019, stated that we owed over $1100 on this Tucson. The main cause of this costs is apparently a very small, about a 1 inch “star” chip in the left headlight area. To most people the car looked almost new. If this charge stands you have a VERY dissatisfied customer. Before this outlandish charge you had a very satisfied customer.

I purchased a new (only 100 kms) 2009 Sante Fe last year that had been sitting on a dealers lot for two years. It is a standard front wheel drive and thats why they say it wouldnt sell because no one wanted a standard, but I did. Since my purchase (I now have 30,000 km), there has been a bad vibration between 80km-120 km. You can see the passenger seat and the back one shacking. I phoned the dealership I purchased it from who is 3.5 hours away from me and they told me that it was the tires and it was up to me to replace. (This was after several balances out of my own pocket.) So luckily, I found a good tire dealership whose tire rep said he would replace the tires at no charge. This did not fix the problem. So to save time and money, I went to a Red Deer Hyundai dealership (only 45 minutes away) and for the last four months, they have been trying to resolve it. I now have new motor mounts, new wheel bearings, two new axles and when that didnt work, they tried the transmission! When they opened it, it was all rusted and there were two rocks inside? They were baffled but figured a new transmission would fix it. It did not! So here I am today with my unsatisfactory car and an empty wallet! What do I do next? The dealership is at a loss and Hyundai Canada just keeps calling the dealership relaying the information I already know! I have had to take numerous days off work and so much fuel to travel back and forth to the dealership. Someone please help me! I would sell the vehicle but who would buy a vehicle that vibrates. Im so stuck and it makes me sick that I spent this kind of money and have horrible results.

I have purchased 3 new Hyundais in the last 4 1/2 years. I would consider myself a loyal customer. On 8/19/18 I stopped at Jenkins Hyundai in Ocala, FL. to purchase my 4th Hyundai in 4 1/2 years. I had with me the internet information on the SUV I was going to purchase. Listed below plus the window sticker posted on their website.Detailed Pricing. Stock # : Y5005 / VIN : KM8J33A21JU683376. $30,800MSRP. $1,000Savings. $29,800 No-Haggle Price. $2,500 Hyundai Offer. $500 Hyundai Offer. $26,800 Final Price. $500 Conditional Offer. $500 Conditional Offer. $400 Conditional Offer. When I sat down to purchase the SUV I was told the price was just a little over $35,800 because of the added dealer extras. This information wasnt listed on the website (as you can see above). I came to the dealership to negotiate the price listed above $26,800 and was told I could purchase the SUV for $32,800 plus tags, taxes and a dealer prep fee of $899.00. As you can see above $26,800 Final Price. Only a fool would fall for this scam!I ask why they didnt list the $35,800 on the internet and their answer was we dont have to. This is totally dishonest! In doing some more research on the SUV and cars on the Jenkins lot I discovered most if not all are priced this way and are not listed on the website. They are all similar to the deal I was served up. The bottom line is that the website price is a scam to get you to the dealership so they can rip you off. This was a horrible experience. At previous dealerships when purchasing a Hyundai I was treated with respect and they negotiated in GOOD FAITH! You should be ashamed for having a crooked dealerships like this one!

I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought
I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought brand new in August 2016. It’s been less than 2 years and we already had to take our vehicle to the mechanic 4 times to the Hyundai maintenance service. After going to Hyundai mechanics numerous times they are still uncertain about the fault in my vehicle. My wife and I have been very disappointed with our first Hyundai Sonata. Numerous times we have gone back to the Hyundai maintenance shop to attempt to have our vehicle fixed, which then follows up with me getting a rental car for the day. The very following next day I have to pick up my car again as the mechanic tells me the issue is resolved but it’s not. I’ve listed the days below for details when my Sonata has malfunctioned.Heading from Santa Clara to San Francisco about 40 miles drive. Was looking for parking and when in the middle of the road my vehicle decided to stop without any warning. It wouldn’t start and we had to wait about 20-25 minutes for my car to start again. We followed up with Hyundai the next day and they said they didn’t find any issues with it. Therefore I wasn’t able to have any record of it in the Hyundai maintenance system. The second time it occurred when my wife and I were heading to Long Beach for our Babymoon. Our issue happened multiples times during our trip. Every time we stopped by at the gas station our vehicle malfunctioned. We had to wait 30 minutes before the car would start again. At that time I felt very unsafe as I had my pregnant wife with me and was hoping the car wouldn’t stop while I was driving. Due to the malfunction, our trip was not only delayed but dangerous for my wife.During this time they had found a fault in the vehicle and had to replace BMS. Invoice number ** on Feb 7th 2018. Our third accident happened after getting my vehicle back from the maintenance, I had to go to SF Airport to pick up my friend and the car stopped again! Replaced OPU, OL Pump Unit. Invoice number ** on Feb 14th 2018. The fourth accident happened when we had an emergency and had to take our dog to the vet for his surgery and after dropping him off my car stopped again! Replaced PRA. Invoice number ** on Feb 20th 2018. Mileage of my Vehicle still under 50,000The Hyundai service center has not been able to find the problem and resolve it even after having numerous types of test. After going to the Hyundai service center numerous times, I have the fear of my vehicle of being very unsafe and I don’t want to take any kind of risk with my family in it. I am afraid that my vehicle will stop at the stop light or worse during the drive. Looking forward to hearing back from you regarding Hyundai Malfunction Issue.

We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabe
We purchased a new Hyundai in December of 2013 from Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City. We had oil changes done in excess of requirements and used the best oil always. As time went along we noticed our car kept getting louder and louder as we drove. I took it to Hall Hyundai of Elizabeth City to have it looked at. The service dept. girl (Aamanda **) had me come out and look at something dealing with the tires. She showed me that the tires were wearing out in a choppy manner on the inside of the rear tires and that was what was making the loud sound as we drove; and that we simply needed to get a complete realignment and new tires. But then, thankfully, she showed me that the front tires were doing the same thing. The reason I say thankfully is that as soon as she showed me that, I immediately knew that this was not an issue that I should have to care for. It was a defect in the Hyundai Elantra suspension design and that they were trying to pass the blame and cost and problem ownership on to the consumer, and absolving themselves of any responsibility of causation through their own product design. After we went back inside the service dept., she tried to blame it on that I might not have had the tires rotated up to requirements. But she wasnt thinking properly again. These tires only rotate front to back and back to front, not side to side; therefore negating the thought of non-rotation problem causation. For it was happening in the front and back tires, which it would still have happened even if we rotated the tires everyday. Then, I said to her that this was a deeper problem and that tires were junk and that it wasnt the need for me to have a realignment. After that she went in the back and I never saw her again. So I left my name and number (of which she already had) with an elderly lady at the back service stand and asked her to have Aamanda call me when she figures out whatever she is figuring out, and she never called me. Subsequently, when I got home, I researched on the internet this issue and I found very many reports of the same problem dating back many years. Some of them mentioned in their report that they did have their proofs of tire rotations as needed and that Hyundai still blamed it on the car owner. My question, if it was an issue of the car owner not doing things properly as Hyundai dealers and Hyundai itself contends, how is it possible that it is exactly the same issue happening to thousands of Hyundai owners over a span of years? Simply put; its NOT anything that the consumer is doing wrong, and IT IS an issue that HYUNDAI has ownership of (it IS an issue concerning a defect in the suspension of the automobile ~ FACTLY), and they need to be made and forced to rectify the problem with all owners that are dealing and have dealt with the issue.

I just had my Hyundai 2012 Sonata serviced for a gas leak. They told me it was a packing fuel pump and cap assembly fuel filler. All Goethe’s they charge me 383.12 dollars for only changing the fuel cap which was the real issue and they milked it by keeping me waiting for more than two hours. I realized they did not change the packing fuel pump because they never asked me for the special key to remove one of the lug nuts to my tire where the gas cap is located. They ripped me off, and I realized this when I got home and said “How come they didn’t ask for the key to remove the special lug nut?” How can I get my money back on this issue? I am really pissed off because of how they are getting away with this.

I must say that Hyundai of Metairie went out of their way to make things right. Mike Dugas not only fixed my car, but it was free of charge. One person in the service department dropped the ball and it had a domino effect. Just proves that businesses must have everyone on the same page to make things work. We spend so much money on our cars. They are a huge investment! Thank you, Mike and Hyundai of Metairie for fixing this.

2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan has a problem with the automatic drivers seat. The seat fails to return to preset position when the car is started. Similarly, it cannot be manually adjusted when this condition occurs. This is a sporadic and unpredictable problem which the dealer has not been able to identify after four visits and approximately 10 days at the dealership. Customer service has assigned a case number to this issue but never returns calls or suggests a solution or suggestion to the problem. My only recourse at this point is to engage an attorney and file some sort of civil action. I am very frustrated.

Hi All, I own a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and theres a manufacturing issue with the engine. So I reached out to Hyundai and asked them to get it fixed. And I was told that only 65% of the total repair cost will be covered by the Hyundai and remaining 35% has to be paid by me [35% is costing me 3800$]. My question to hyundai is. If theres a manufacturing issue, then its companys responsibility to get it repaired free of cost. Why Im getting charged for it. Nobody is able to give an exact answer for this.

This is reference to Hyundai Head Office Consumer Complaints. On a recent service visit to my local Hyundai Dealer I was told that my car had quite an alignment problem that would cost $130.00 to fix. The tech could find no sign of me rubbing a curb or any other reason why my car would be out of alignment with only 23000km. When I called head office to complain and to get an explanation on why my car would be out of alignment after only 23000km they could give me no reason and had no interest in solving this issue. They did not offer to call the dealership and ask the techs any questions and did nothing more than log the complaint. The person I talked to had no knowledge of any kind and is there only to log the complaint in their computer system. Hyundai Consumer complaint is a joke and a worthless phone number to have. I have dealt with other car companies in the past with always excellent results and for this reason this will be the first and last Hyundai car I will purchase.

Hyundai is comfortable, gives a smooth ride and handles well. It has low maintenance obligations though it has high mileage. Seats are high to support knee issues. Love the heated seats and back seat temperature control. The 3rd row seating is handy for road trips with the grand kids. The sun roof was also a must for me and the grands! I got the most amenities without an exorbitant additional cost. However, it doesnt have Bluetooth or a back up camera. I also would like a steering wheel that heated up and that the 3rd row seats are raised up higher off the floor. Theyre so low that theyre only appropriate for small children. Nevertheless, its the best vehicle Ive ever owned!

My 2007 Elantra SE was just totaled this month. This car is one of the best cars we ever had. It still runs like a top but the rear end damage totaled it. This car never needed anything besides regular maintenance. It now has 230,000 + miles on it. It was very comfortable, peppy car and it will be missed! This was a great car and I will buy another one.

In 2011 I purchased a Sante Fe with the in-car Navigation System. The day we drove the car off the lot the maps were out of date. I contacted the dealership and was told it would automatically update. Two years later, we asked again and were told we had to pay $200 to have the maps updated. Now, the car is 3-years-old and the navigation system is so bad it is dangerous. We dont even turn it on. For $200, we purchased a Garmin with free lifetime map updates. So we now drive a Sante Fe, with a built in navigation system, and a Garmin attached to the windshield. Friends are shocked at what we have had to do.Why is Hyundai doing this to their customers? I tried to speak to Hyundai Customer Connect System Lead Laura who gave me nothing but attitude. How outrageous to charge what you do for the system, then expect us to pay $200 each time it needs to be updated. Are you crazy??? Im done with Hyundai. Oh yea, did I mention that the Sante Fe was my third, and now last, Hyundai purchase.

I leased my 2015 Sonata Sport in Feb of 2016. It had been a service loaner and had almost 5000 miles on it at delivery. After about six months in Aug of 2016 my car would not start and I had to call Hyundai Roadside to jump it. I brought it into the dealer the following week. They tested the battery, said nothing was wrong, and suggested I did something to cause the battery drain. Well, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Nov of 2016. This time they said the battery was bad and replaced it. Even after replacing the battery, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Jan of 2017. This time they blamed the problem on the Allstate insurance device I have plugged into the car and they said the battery was bad too. So they replaced the battery for the second time and I had the Allstate device replaced.I continued to have the same problems. I brought the car back to the dealer the following month and they said they could not replicate the issue and found nothing. It seems that my vehicle battery dies when I dont use the vehicle for a period of time – often 1.5 - 2 days, but it has died from sitting unused in as little as 22 hours. Since I continue to have this issue without any real help from the dealer, I contacted Hyundai consumer affairs in April of 2017 and they have been slow to take any action. I did not receive any actionable info from them until 2 weeks after I first called... They called the dealer I had been working with and the dealer told them they thought the issue was the insurance device (even though they found no problems the last time I had the vehicle there, with the device plugged in).So my Hyundai case manager told me they could not do anything until the insurance device was ruled out as a cause. I removed the device and purposefully did not drive the vehicle for a full day and surprise, the car was dead. So I called my case manager at Hyundai and told her what happened and that the device could be ruled out. Now she is checking to see if or when (her words) a Hyundai specialist can look at the car. Hopefully, it wont take another two weeks to find that out. It seems Im not the only person with this issue as a couple other reviews very recently indicate the same problem on the same year/make/model and with even the same time frame the problem began! I guess its time for me to find a lawyer too.

I have had issues with the transmission not shifting properly when pressing on the accelerator. I have taken it back to the dealership several times and am always told that it is their new transmission and is normal. Finally, they said they had a reset they could do for it, this seemed to help for about a week. After this things got worse, it not only went back to the chugging with the transmission but also lost power when accelerating from a stopped position (like turning in front of oncoming traffic). I would pump the accelerator for it to finally go. I filed a claim with Hyundai, finally got a call from them and was told to take to dealership, of course they found nothing wrong, everything is working to “their” standard, and that it’s just their new transmissions. I said I had another vehicle (Not Hyundai) that has this type of transmission and it doesn’t do this, she said, Well. This is Hyundai Transmission. I am beyond Frustrated and Disappointed with Hyundai products and Customer Service! I will never buy Hyundai and will and have recommend everyone to NOT buy Hyundai!!!

I purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent in November 2019 at Genesis of Cherry Hill in Marlton, NJ. This car is a piece of junk, defective, and unsafe to drive. Hyundai provides a car buyer with a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty; not because they stand by the quality and workmanship of the vehicle, but because youll need the warranty to have the car repaired. My car has been in the Hyundai Service Shop for the same problem four times since I purchased the car. The car constantly pulls to the left. You must hold the steering wheel for dear life; otherwise, you could have an accident. On 1/2/20 Hyundai Service adjusted the steering wheel sensor. Within 8 days, 1/10/20 I had to return the car to Hyundai Service for the same problem. Now, Hyundai Service determines the car needs a 4 wheel alignment and another steering sensor adjustment. On 5/19/20 the car was returned again to Hyundai Service for the same problem and the technician determines the rear solid beam axle and left and right front lower control arms must be replaced. Hyundai Service had to order these parts, so now a 4th trip to Hyundai Service was required to fix the pulling to the left. I dropped my car off on 6/1/20 and went to pick the car up on 6/10/20. I test drove the car in the presence of 2 Hyundai technicians and the service manager. After all this work done on the vehicle my car still pulls to the left. Hyundai Service had the audacity to state that all Hyundai Accents may perform the same way, really. Hyundai also indicated that the car passed their testing protocol for driving 40 mph and was deemed as a fixed vehicle in their eyes. However, on my road test the vehicle failed at 40 mph and at greater speeds. Hyundai Service has failed to address my complaint about my car and the car was left at the dealership. I have been making payments on this new car which has spent more times in the shop than on the road. Consumers should think twice on purchasing a Hyundai whether for yourself, your spouse, or child. Your safety is at risk each time you get behind the wheel of this car.

Replace and give new battery. But they did not change, they gave old battery again. I tested again, the same problem appeared. This is not good manner to treat a customer. I bought a 2011 Hyundai, I was the second owner. As I was going to work I pulled out onto a main highway where the motor made this horrible noise and stopped, leaving me in terrible danger. People helped me push the car to get it backed off to a bit of safety zone, I had to have it towed to a garage. This car had 82,000. miles on it, it seems the motor was gone. It was then towed to the dealership, where it sat for 4 months before anyone even took a look at it. I keep calling them frequently about it and was told, they had so many cars before me in line they didnt have time to work on it.I had to find other means of transportation for work and other necessities. Only to be told because I was 2,000 over the second owners warranties that Hyundai refused to replace it. They had a class action suite against them, I was notified, but didnt have a problem at the time I was notified. Why would I spent $6,000 for a new one of their motors when the one I had was no good? I was told of others the same dealership that they had replaced motors with the overage mileage. I had expected to drive this car for at least 200,000 plus miles. Just goes to prove not all Lemons are yellow!

I purchased a 2010 Hyundai Sonata in August 2009 with 500 miles on it at the time of purchase. To date, I have had the vehicle in the service department 3 times regarding the transmission, dropping, failing and stalling, for a total of about 4 weeks in the shop. Just before the 60k mile warranty expired, the rear passenger side door handle fell apart. I had that replaced, covered under warranty. Since that time, about 5,000 miles has passed and today, the just replaced door handle fell off again in my hand trying to put my children in the car. I have tried and tried to be patient and put up with this car and all the times it has been in and out of the shop, but I am truly to my breaking point. I have to put my children in this car and travel to school, work, daycare and after-school activities. I need someone to get in touch with me regarding the possible lemon law or before it gets to that point about someone buying back my vehicle and putting me in something comparable of my choice. I am aware of the laws and my rights. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can have this resolved before anyone is seriously injured as a result of poor craftsmanship and production of my vehicle. Thank you very much in advance for your time.

I bought a new Hyundai Sonata in 2012. I bought the extended warranty due to driving 20 miles to work each day. I have had my oil changed every 3000 miles. My car started using oil after about 100,000. I took it to the dealership, and they said they would have to do oil consumption. I went through this for 3 oil changes. They said it was using oil, but not enough to hurt. The dealership said the car had to be using a quart of oil per 1000 miles in order for them to be concerned. I was not satisfied with this answer, so I called to complaint line at Hyundai with no better results. My car is now using a quart of oil every 1400 miles. It will soon be out of warranty. Very unsatisfied with Hyundai.

Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai
Fuel tank of Hyundai Matrix - I was driving may car on Ras Sidr Road, Sinai, Egypt, when I heard the sound of a little stone. It was moved by the tire, hitting the underneath of the car. Then when I went to a fuel station to refuel, some people told me that there was a continuous heavy gasoline discharge from the underneath of the car. Inspecting the gasoline source, I found it coming through a hole in the fuel tank caused by that little stone which had hit the underneath of the tank. Inspecting the hole, I found a linear crack intersecting with a circular hole. I had a technician dismounted the fuel tank, soldered it, and re-mounted it.Here, I want to express my deep astonishment for a hole to happen to a car fuel tank by a little stone hit, since a stone hit is a very likely thing to happen to a moving car and must logically be taken account for during the tank design. Being still subject to the possibility of the danger of solder failure, which is a very high dangerous matter, this was fuel explosive and fire hazard for my family if the problem was not detected and repaired.I am asking you to: 1. Search for the cause of such damage, so as not to happen again to other people. 2. To remount a new fuel tank for my car.

I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that I purchased brand new, had about 15 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. It was ok for the first almost 4 years I had it. This year in March my car got towed into Hyundai on Industrial Hwy, East York PA because it wouldnt DRIVE with my children in the car. My oil light was on, my fiancé is very, very good at keeping up with oil changes and checking this POS car. For the last year it had been leaking oil. It was never a lot but no car should ever leak oil. So Hyundai calls and tells me that my 4 year old car needs a new engine and that I have to prove where I got my oil changes because it was under warranty still (THANK GOD). So we did all of that and got a new engine in and didnt get my car back until July 2021. Ok so its now November 11, 2021 (FOUR months later) and my car is leaking oil not a little but a lot of oil and its not driving right. SO PLEASE PLEASE save yourself the ** and never ever ever buy a Hyundai. These cars should be taken off the market!!!!

I had a 2006 Azera that I drove for 147k Miles. It was a near perfect ownership experience. So I purchased a 2011 Genesis 3.8. Its been very disappointing to say the least. What made it disappointing is Hyundais degrading their warranty so that not a single malfunction has been covered by their warranty. I now had 51k miles on the Genesis. This is what had not been covered by their warranty. Navigation does not boot up ~30% of the time, moisture inside rear tail light, wind noise from passenger rear door from day 1, windshield wipers have no intermittent, phone bluetooth cuts out. Wheels peeling clear coat from day one. Dead front strut. So I would recommend avoiding Hyundai. I feel like a chump from driving one. Plus, the ride is rough and too much road noise for this class of car. Avoid!

In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

My engine gave out 12/15, its now 1/27 and its been at the dealership for over a month now. A week after the New Year, and after various calls and check ups, I finally got an answer that my warranty would be extended on the engine. The communication has not been the best at all. They offered me a rental but only in the city that the incident happened in which is 6 hours away from home. In addition, I exhausted over $1,000 on hotel/car repairs after the incident took place. I did my due diligence to submit all the info needed for my reimbursement as soon as I found out the engine was a Hyundai issue. I submitted at least 15 documents pertaining to my proof of ownership and explained that I was stranded in an unfamiliar town for two days due to my engine failing. Ive been more than patient and am still without my vehicle, which is somewhat understanding because repairs and ordering parts take time...the funds that I lost however should not take this long to recover. Since then Ive called in several times to get an update and was assigned a case manager Christina who I missed the call from and when I contacted her back two days later I havent received a response back in a week now. Ive left emails and voicemails each day, and once again contacted customer care to escalate the issue. The agents Ive spoken to were thorough and seemed to care but are powerless in rectifying issue. I work 10 hours a day and when someone has an issue, I look to rectify that problem within 24hrs. We may enter another season by the time I get my money back. Once I pay this vehicle off in full, I will not be doing business with Hyundai again, and I dont recommend anyone else to. Your time and money are not valued enough.

They said they never checked my transmission last time I was in. I feel I was lied to. Also, apparently, there was a recall on my car for several faulty wiring issues. I was never informed about this. I just found out in 2012 when this recall happened in 2009. Also, I got into a car accident. It was not my fault. Ive had my car took in twice for an alignment, window fixed 3 times. Also, my axle was affected in this wreck. They did not tell me this until I took it to someone else and they told me that my axle was messed up due to my car being hit. Hyundai never fixed it. Ive had something lose moving around under my car ever since the accident and they are still saying there is nothing wrong with my car and refuse to fix it. I plan on getting this car fixed then trading it in. Ive paid way too much money for things that were under warranty and should have been fixed the first time. I will never again purchase a car from Hyundai.

Hyundai Veloster - On October 4th 2013 my son was driving in Irvine, CA on Barranca and smelt gas. Passersby started to yell at him to get out of the car as it was on fire! The car caught fire and was a total loss. We are still waiting for Hyundai to pay on settlement they agreed to. 5 months has gone by since they completed their investigation and I am having to make payments in the meantime. Good luck getting them back! I’ve never received such a run around in my life. They go through account reps like water so can’t retain staff apparently. To add insult to injury they sent me a threatening letter stating I had to pay the loan off as the place the car had been towed to had put a line on the car for storage fees!! It’s totaled people!! #shameonhyundai

I own a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, first new car Ive ever purchased. My vehicle roof corroding due to poor manufacturing. Long story short Ive done the whole process for approval with the dealer (Ron **) and Hyundai claims the corrosion coverage is only 3/36. This is not what my owners manual says. It states 7/unlimited miles. Ive contacted Hyundai so-called customer care on now 5 different occasions. NONE of the people I have spoke with have ever contacted me back with resolution. The customer care line is a huge waste of time. No one there is capable of answering any question. They dont know their own manufacturers policy and procedures. It is appalling that Hyundai even claims them as customer care. Furthermore my 3-year-old vehicle should not have a roof that is corroding. Its super frustrating to be told that you cannot talk to anyone who can help. All I wanted was the time of day and someone to assist me with my concern. Instead I got the runaround for a month. A huge headache, super frustrated, no call back from anyone ever, and worst of all no answers. Do not buy any Hyundai product as they do not honor or even know their warranty policy. I will be heard on this concern as no one deserves to be treated like this.

Id like to bring to your attention a series of events that reflect a negative attitude and disrespect towards customer of Hyundai Motor Finance by the employees of HMF. In September 2012, I financed a vehicle through Hyundai Motor Finance. For reasons beyond my control, I have been past due on my $550 monthly payment since last November. I have, however, made every attempt to make sure my payment was received before the 30 days late to ensure I dont receive a negative credit history. I made my last payment on April 27, 2013 26 days late. However, HMF placed my account at over 30 days past due which I know will reflect negatively on my credit.I have now accumulated several late fees, and I understand that. My biggest complaint is the approx. 10-12 harassing phone calls I get, sometimes on a daily basis! Customer service employees, as well as their supervisors, seem to be oblivious to what the customer is telling them. They are rude, disrespectful, and completely inattentive to customers trying to work through difficult times. I am positive that the number of consumer complaints towards Hyundai Motor Finance is already hurting Hyundais business model. I had such a wonderful experience with the salesman and dealership I purchase my car from; its just a shame that relationship is being destroyed by the finance division of your company. Somebody do something to correct this awful experience!

My original fuel pump went out at 80,000+ miles (2011), so I replaced it with a Hyundai part. Three months later at 86,000 miles, this Hyundai fuel pump went out. Now, 20 months later, the same issue, fuel pump #3. No warranty and $417 part out again. Hyundai dealers know this is an issue. It is well published I found out on the internet after my first encounter. Hyundai needs to take care of this issue if they wish to continue to sell vehicles in the US. Hyundai is using refurbished parts and refuse to admit there is an issue. I was told today they do not warrant their parts for more than 12 months. Now, I can no longer utilize the dealership of my vehicle because of faulty parts. Tempe Hyundai service manager would not help in any way. My next recourse is to contact the Hyundais General Manager. I feel everyone should know and stop buying their products if they cant build dependable parts and vehicles.

I feel sorry to inform that I bought Grand i10 Sportz on 6th February and just after 3000 kms and one month duration, all of a sudden while driving the car stopped. We had to give our car at the workshop which took 12 days to return our car. We were informed that some electronic box (EUC) needed to be replaced which took so long. I feel pathetic for buying a new Hyundai car. Even Maruti Alto must be better than this car. Just after 2 days of the return, today again my car stopped of a sudden. For the price point of this vehicle I expected not to hear anything inside. But it seems as I go 40mph and above I hear air as if the window is cracked open. Hyundai says its road noise but I know the difference. Its a lot quieter in my wifes Juke than in the Palisade. I think the door is to light weight so air noise seeps through. Hopefully Hyundai will find a fix for this. Its probably the only reason so far I would not keep this vehicle.

I love the Remote Start feature that Hyundai Blue Link provides. I think its very overpriced. I also dont like that to get the Remote Start that I have to get the other packages which I dont use. It would be nice to just have the Remote Start feature. I also dont like that the max time for the vehicle to be started is only 10 minutes. It would be great for the customer to extend the timer beyond 10 minutes especially living in a cold climate state like I do. When the timer expires for the Remote Start, why dont you receive notification like you do when the vehicle is started. Also, I dont like it that it flashes the parking lights, they should give the option for the customer to turn off that feature or go to a solid parking light if so the customer chooses.I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and received the Remote Start package for a trial period. It was set up by the dealership. I didnt know why they needed my credit card information, I found out why. They auto billed my card after the trial period was over without notifying me. I asked why I wasnt notified and they didnt have an answer. I told them that I only wanted the Remote Start option and they said that I had to get the full package to get the Remote Start. Almost $300. I liked the Remote Start that much that I didnt cancel the service of which the Remote Start is the only thing I use.The next year, I purchased a 2016 Tuscon, same thing with the Elantra happened with the Tuscon. I called Blue Link and asked them to sync my two accounts, the agent told me she had done so. When I tried to start my 2015, the app prompted me to call Blue Link. They told me that the subscription on my Elantra was cancelled. I told them that I had another two months left before renewal, she verified that I was correct. I then asked her why was my service cancelled and she said she didnt know. She got a supervisor involved and he said the same thing.Granted, the 2015 is a Generation 1 vehicle and the 2016 is a Generation 2 vehicle which is two different departments. Why arent they combined, I dont know. I told them to turn on my service for the remaining two months that I have left on my subscription, they said they couldnt do that. They said I had to renew my yearly subscription. I asked them why because my service was not scheduled for renewal for two months and that it wasnt my fault that they screwed up. They said that their computers would not allow them to go in and turn on the service without the renewal of my yearly subscription. Being unsatisfied, I told them to renew my subscription which got prorated to the date that I purchased the vehicle. They told me that for my troubles that they would give me a discount on one of the packages one of my vehicles. They assured me that this mishap would not happen again.Which brings me to this years renewal, the so-called discount wasnt a discount, they extended one of the packages on one of my vehicles which knocked my packages out of sync, again. The sent me an E-mail stating that I would have to pay almost $20 a month for the next two months to aligned the packages. On the day that they were supposed to pull the money from my account, my Remote Start package was cancelled and when I called Blue Link, they said I had insufficient funds. Which I found ridiculous because I verified that I had several thousand dollars on that account. I even signed onto the Blue Link website to verify that the billing information was correct and it was. Besides, they had just taken out $297 from my account for my other vehicles renewal of which I wasnt notified. I asked them why I wasnt notified and again, they said that they didnt know and they were going to pass me onto their website department. They are currently investigating why I wasnt notified, I am not going to hold my breath for a response, lol. The agent asked what would it take for me to be a satisfied customer, I said, Free service, I knew that wouldnt fly. I asked her to turn on the service for the remainder of the two months I have left to sync my accounts, of course, just like the year prior, they said it couldnt be done and that I had to renew my yearly subscription. I didnt. I am so frustrated with Blue Link right now but I love their Remote Start feature. A few years ago, I tried to have Car Toys to put an aftermarket remote start system on my vehicle and they said that because the vehicle has a factory installed remote system on the vehicle that they couldnt do it. This was three years ago. I am going to revisit this option and see if it can be done. With the Remote Start feature I had on my other vehicle, it had way more features than Blue Link has and for cheaper. You figure with as much as they charge for the service that they would be one of the leaders in the game.I gave this review only 2 stars because I love the Remote Start otherwise it would be one star. I dont think Blue Link even cares about their customers, they know we have to use this service if we want it, especially being in a cold climate state. If they were smart, they would find a way to be able to modify the field to change the renewal date to maintain the subscribers they have right now. I will be looking for another car company where I can have more flexibility with this option. So it will be goodbye to Hyundai even though I like their vehicles. My Tucson was the 4th Hyundai I had purchased, yes, this is a deal breaker. If I can find a go around, I will. Thanks, Blue Link. Step up your game.

I purchased my Accent 2007 brand new off the lot. It is a 5-speed manual shift. I have had extreme brake problems ever since but thats the least of my trouble. Driving to work one night last week, I was moving in traffic and the car just shut off. Luckily, I was able to drift safely to the side of the road I was on. I had to have the car towed to my garage. The next morning, the mechanic called to give me the bad news. My timing belt broke. Okay, I could handle that until he told me the rest... In these cars, when the timing belt breaks, the valves in the motor keep moving and are most likely bent. So I have to pay for the repair and when we try to start it, we will know for sure. I am sick over this. I am on a tight budget and cannot afford a new car at this time. My job is 50 miles one way and I now have no way to get there. Shame on Hyundai for placing such a faulty piece of equipment in their vehicles. I owned a Hyundai Excel years ago and had 200,000 plus miles on it and only ever had to replace a thermostat in it. Had I known how poorly Hyundai is building their cars now, I would have never bought another one. But you can bet that I will never purchase another, nor will anyone in my family. I also work in a big hospital... Thats a lot of potential customers, Hyundai.

Actually, Ive 2 problems with my Verna 2012 car (15,000k) only. The first one is related to the dinamo; it doesnt keep any charge if I left my car for only one day! The second is that sometime when I switch off the contact, it doesnt switch off the car and I should repeat this for 3 or 4 times! This is not the first time to complain to Hyundai. Both of the passenger windows in my 2007 Sonata will not stay up. These windows have probably only been rolled up & down 10 times since the car was purchased, because I dont normally have back seat passengers. I cant afford to have them fixed. I am retired. The left one went out first about a year ago, and then the right one about six months later. I have tried everything from wedging something into the opening to keep the windows up, to taping them. Nothing works. This is a dangerous problem when you are driving down the highway & suddenly your back windows fall down, it could cause a wreck when you hear it suddenly & look back.In my opinion, Hyundai is a good car as far as the motor goes, but they really cheaped out on the interior. Another problem I have had for about 3 years, is the visors on the driver and passenger side wont stay up. I tried velcro, but it didnt work, so now I have tied them up to the handles above the windows to keep them up.Needless to say, this looks ridiculous. The visors would block my view. I have never had a car that had these problems. Because of the cheap interiors, I will never buy another Hyundai. I do believe these problems should cause a recall, especially on the windows.

I would like to highlight that I have a very bad experience with the quality of tyres Verna is using. Verna was one the cars I always wanted and finally one year back I bought it. However, I did not know that it uses some bad quality tyres. I was travelling from Indore to Pune on 2nd June 2019, when the tyre (Front Left side) of my car (Hyundai verna SX (O)) got burst and I had near escape from death. My spouse got hurt on her head and eyes. I was driving at a speed of maximum 50kmph, as it was a single road, between Rajgurunagar and Chakan. The Front Tyre (left side) suddenly got burst. On contacting the service management of Hyundai and Hankok (tyre manufacturer/dealer), they said it is a cut on the side wall and its not a fault of tyre and denied my request of replacing it. My point is such expensive and big cars who can run at around 140kmph, should have such bad quality tyres and risk life of the customers. OR, should they provide any better reliable and trusted brand. For instance, even I say, there was an impact on tyre, should the tyre easily gets burst. I have another car - Chevrolet Beat and used Bridgestone, MRF for last 10 years not. Have gone on potholes on highways on speed as fast as 100kmp, but never had this experience. This clearly shows the quality of tyres.

On June 14, 2014, around 7:30 p.m. I started up Sideling Hill in Maryland. My car -- 2004 Hyundai Elantra slowly started to lose speed. As I looked at the speedometer, I noticed it was declining to 40 mph and accelerating did no good. Suddenly smoke started to come out of the drivers rear section and the oil light came on. I immediately pulled over and stopped. The car did not start again. I had it towed back to my home area to a repair shop that the two driver recommended. The guy looked at it and called me that week and said the oil pump was gone and it needed a new engine. I decided to get a second opinion and had the car towed to another mechanic. He said that he ran a couple of tests and that it needed a new engine.... not sure if it does or if neither wanted to fool with it. Anyway, I decided I need my car (single, 62 years old and have elderly parents who live at a distance). The mechanic ordered a used engine in decent condition but it was a 2002 that would fit my 2004. When they got it and started to put it in, it did not fit as my engine had a variable down timer and the 2002 did not. However, when the mechanic checked the engines that would fit my car as well as checking with the salvage yard and my VIN both found that a 2002 should fit my car. However, it does not as evidently my car -- a 2004 was fitted with a 2003 engine. So no instead of having my car finished July 4th week, it is again waiting for another engine, which is extremely difficult to find. Its been going on a month; I have family in the area. My friends are all gone and/or working during the day while Im at home. So, Ive been taking public transportation (cabs) for errands, which of course is inconvenient and costly. I emailed Hyundai and of course, I received a canned reply saying the usual. Ive had the car and overall its done well but Im frustrated that they would fit cars like this and then it comes back to haunt the consumer -- me. Of course, it doesnt help that Sears did a tune-up awhile back and didnt mention that there might be something wrong with the engine. The mechanic who now has my car says that it was running on only one piston -- the tune up was done a year ago. Last year, the rep at Sears had wanted me to have my anti-freeze and steering fluid replaced and I had said not at that time. Another post I had read mentioned that he had a similar issue as a result of his anti-freeze leaking. Im wondering if Sears did not replace the lids or valves back correctly. Anyway, Ive got a major expense on my hands and am currently unemployed. But my main concern is that I cannot get out in case of an emergency. So my car is still at the mechanics going on week 4 now. And there is no sign of finding an engine that will fit the car as it is.

I took my car into the Hyundai dealership on 9/23/17 for service only because we received 2 recall notices, one for the engine and one for the steering coupler. There were no other issues. I was advised after technician checked the car there was a small split at top of left tire and car indeed failed their engine test and it would be replaced under the recall. On 10/19/17, received a call the car was ready for pick up. Upon checking out I was advised the technician noticed a noise coming from the steering rack. Mind you, before we dropped the car off, there were no issues or noises. Ok... was advised this is not covered under my warranty and would be around 1000.00 out my pocket to repair. After leaving the dealership noticed a metal scraping sound coming from middle of car. Went back to service dept that Saturday morning (10/21/17) around 9:15 am to advise and was asked when I wanted to bring the car back because technician that worked on my car was off and he had to be the one to work on it. Took car back that following Monday, 10/23/17, explained issue again and proceeded to walk in the waiting room. I forgot to ask the advisor a question so I went back to the service desk and overheard the technician that worked on my car talking to other advisors stating, I dont know what it could be. Maybe its the rotors. I know he was the technician that worked on my car because I asked him, Are you talking about my car... and no its not the rotors because we got them replaced along with the brakes about 2 weeks ago and there were no issues or noises afterwards. Ok, so technician takes car for a test drive and claims he didnt hear any noises!!!I drove the car this time with the service manager and guess what... he heard the noise. I was told by him they would handle the issue. After another check of the car, I was told this time, it was the Front end valve muffler making the metal scraping noise. The service manager submitted a goodwill courtesy request to have the repair done at 100%, then 50%... both denied due to warranty expired. Manager offered to repair at MY expense at the warranty rate of $506.56 for the part, $50.00 labor and $10.57 for gasket part. I feel like this was a technician error when reinstalling the engine due to the recall. My car was not having any issues or noises prior to dropping it off on 9/23/17, and again we only took it in due to the recalls. This is so unfair and poor customer service. I was warned by others not to go to this particular Hyundai dealership in Durham. I should have drove the extra miles to the one in Cary.

From the deceptive pushy dealer at Hyundai to the customer service line to the service department. In all my years of owning a vehicle never have I had to deal with such unprofessional people. I regret so much buying from Hyundai and would never buy from them again. I traded in a brand new Honda Accord paid off and needed more room for my son to fit in comfortably and decided to look at Hyundai. The dealer was cool to take my paid off brand new vehicle and get me a SUV much to my surprise the name brand must be jinxed. As soon as I purchased the vehicle from Hyundai a month later I had a car accident where another person hit me. Taking it back to Hyundai I wanted a authorized Hyundai dealer to repair my vehicle which there wasnt one in my area, they convinced me at the dealer to trade in the crashed vehicle for a new one again and much to my amazement was reluctant after seeing the cost of payment for another vehicle. The pushy aggressive finance officer upset me to the point that I wanted to call the cops cause he wouldnt give me back my keys to my vehicle in a desperate hope that he would get me into the new Hyundai. I went from a monthly payment of $180 with a payoff balance of $8000 to a another Hyundai vehicle same year to $400 payment with a $20,000 payoff when they finally convinced me at the dealer. It was a good decision I finally took the vehicle and thats where all my headaches began. They are good to take your money quick but as far as customer service on your account through financing with Hyundai is a also a headache, and the dealer well no comment at this point. STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!!!

When you call in to Hyundai there is the normal menu that you select to reach the correct department. I was trying to reach Blue Link and I was put into a phone queue, theres music in the background asking you to hold but there is no indication of how long you have to hold. After an hour and 15 minutes with no answer I hung up and tried calling again making a different selection. Ive been selected Genesis customer service. After about 15 minutes they picked up the line and informed me that Id have to call back to Blue Link and they could not help me reach them. I asked to speak to a supervisor and then found out that if you wanted to speak to a supervisor you could leave your number and they call you back in the next day or two. So I left my number and received no return phone call. I then followed up with an email to customer service and again received no communication back other than acknowledgment of my email. Its now been two weeks, 4 phone calls and three emails later. Not a single phone call for me to go full email response. If you have a Hyundai product need help they arent there, Although I like the car I will not be buying another Genesis in 2018. The main issues I have with the vehicle are fairly minor, although some could potentially be a major issues. When creating a rear deck for transporting items, the rear passenger seats dont fold down perfectly flat. I ended up building my own slide-in deck to compensate for the slightly lifted rear passenger seats. The adaptive cruise control seems a bit laggy adapting, but that is probably why the manual says it cant be trusted if theres a difference in speed between vehicles over 35 mph.I also live in California where motorcycle lane splitting is legal. The problem is it can confuse the adaptive cruise control. Very frequently Ill be going 40 mph (rush hour traffic on a freeway) and a motorcyclist will blast by in between the lanes at 60+ mph. About 50% of the time the cruise control will start tracking the lane-splitting bike and suddenly accelerate, potentially causing my vehicle to smash into the vehicle ahead of it which is only going 40 mph. Fortunately, the cruise control has always been buggy enough so I typically keep it on a short leash anyway, ready to brake. But it is a potentially dangerous annoyance. Im not sure whether its just bad luck, but my Santa Fe has been broken into more in the first year of ownership than in all the other vehicles Ive had since I started driving 40+ years ago. Its probably because its new looking and its an SUV which has no lockable trunk. But here is the problem with the vehicle: In all cases when my vehicle has been broken into, Ive been less than 100 to 50 feet away and heard nothing. In the last instance, I heard glass breaking but no alarm. As far as I can tell the alarm is useless. The blinking light on the dash is just a bad joke. Im definitely looking into some aftermarket alarms now. If there had been an alarm, as it claims to have, then I would have been alerted and been able to stop the burglary. I know this to be true because I stopped a theft on my prior vehicle because its horn went off when the window was broken, and I ran right out and chased off the burglar before he was able to carry off anything. Also, although I know this a problem of all SUVs, it would be nice to have a secure, lockable cargo area. As it is, anyone breaking into the car can easily steal anything as there is no place to hide anything, except the glove compartment. Also, when I see vehicles that have been in rear-end accidents, the vehicle doing the rear-ending usually takes most of the damage, with a crumpled hood and such. When my Hyundai was rear-ended at low speed by a sedan half its size, my SUV somehow got most of the damage. The auto repair shop sent the insurance company a $5000 bill. Which it paid, but still that suggests a fairly serious bumper design issue. Even the first vehicle I owned from 1980, a Toyota Tercel, would have not sustained that much damage if it had been hit similarly in the rear. Of course it also had thick rubber bumpers, but still, this is a $45K vehicle.

I own a 2012 elantra. And while Im driving it seem the rear suspension rolls. From side to side. This only happens when I roll over a bridge bump, I ask the Hyundai dealer what could be the problem and their answer was the shocks need replaces. They replaced the shock twice but this did not solve the rear rolling. The top mechanic couldnt understand why this was happen. Superior Hyundai really doesnt have a clue why my car rolls. What can I do to have this fix?

2008 Hyundai Elantra - On May 8, 2013, I was driving 38-40 mph on damp road. I swerved to miss an animal and spun 270 degrees. I hit a tree on passenger side door, broke passenger window, moved forward, hit passenger quarter panel and then it went forward and hit front bumper directly center. Neither front nor side airbags deployed, brakes froze (ABS didnt work) and ESC didnt work (received ESC recall notice after accident). It totaled the car. Passenger received lacerations due to glass breakage. Driver and passenger received bumps, bruises, sore neck and body parts. This is a huge safety concern. What can be done about false safety advertising?

24 hours after purchasing a 2006 Hyundia Tiburon from AR Motorsports, the vehicle would not shift. I brought it to my local mechanic, since I live 140 miles from the car lot. It was believed to be in need of a new clutch, which we authorized to be done. After further investigation, the mechanic realized that it was in fact a transmission failure with the clutch in satisfactory condition. It took the mechanic 6.5 hours and three additional helpers with crow bars to get the transmission apart from the engine. It was stated that the throwout bearing had welded itself to the output shaft, which in turn caused it to come apart, not allowing the pressure plate to move. Therefore, the vehicle would not properly shift into gear. Once Mr. ** was notified of the issue, he stated that it would be covered under warranty. On the 8th day, the vehicle was in the repair facility. The work was finally completed, and the total was $835.11. Mr. ** called back and stated that since it was a standard clutch replacement (maintenance) issue, the owner had decided not to cover the repairs. This vehicle was purchased with a 6-month/6,000-mile powertrain warranty.

2013 Tucson GLS 2.4L • Automatic transmission *Hyundai believes 108,000 miles is normal for a motor to seize. That is what Reggie a representative at Hyundai told me. 3/14/2019. In February of 2018 I purchased my 2013 Tucson. My sister was on the highway, driving highway speed, when suddenly the vehicle just lost power completely. She was able to roll to the shoulder safely, but only because it was a light traffic time of the day. Any other time, it wouldve been trouble. She called me right away. I told her not to start it till we got there, when we got there (Tow Truck already en route) there was absolutely no life whatsoever in the engine. The electronics were barely working, but the engine was not responsive.I had the vehicle towed to a shop, to which they told me the following day that the engine was seized, they explained that the oil pump had stopped working. They even took pictures and sent them to me of the piston and the lower motor blown out. How could this be since it only has 108,000 Miles, and I kept up with the scheduled oil and filter changes! Hyundai says this is not unusual! The warranty is only honored if youre the original owner, and I was not. I would never buy or deal with a Hyundai ever again as long as Im alive, and this inconvenience has cost me time, travel inconveniences, stress, and of course...money, not only do I STILL OWE OVER $8,000.00 ON IT, I can not get to work till its fixed. The Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sportage, and Kia Sorento have been reported as having these same issues, but the Tucson absolutely needs to be included, because theyre using the same engine (components) in this model year.

They repaired the throttle sensor on my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe on 06-27-12. I did not notice that the hood latch did not work after until I went to have my battery checked the first part of 08/2012. At that time, I called them about it. The man, who was my service tech, did not say much. I took it to my dealer the last of August to have some work done. They told me that it would cost $119.00 to repair it. I feel that West Broad Hyundai of Richmond should repair or pay my dealer for the work. The latch cover on the inside of the car had to be taken off in order to open the hood. You now have to pull the wire to open the hood.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Engine Failure: 05/09, car stalls and will not start. 05/10, towed to local Hyundai dealer Northshore, Vancouver. Service Manager says before the vehicle arrives that it is probably because I do not change the oil. Service manager asks me to authorize payment to diagnose problem. I ask him why I would do that as the vehicle is still under warranty. Service manager says that they cannot proceed without authorization, and tells me the bill will be bigger if the engine has failed. I provide 3/6 service records with the last completed only 1 month before engine failure. Hyundai Canada denies warranty, no relief of cost due to lack of Maintenance. I have asked for all records and inspection criteria from Hyundai Canada and they have declined to provide. Talk to the garage. Its a great way to ensure no warranty is paid. Have Hyundai service garage charge the consumer/customer to prove that it was the consumers/customers fault. $228 for the diagnostic, $3500 for the engine, $1600 for the labor.

I have a 2011 Gen Coupe 3.8, purchased in Oct 2010. My steering wheel started peeling about 3 months ago (around 7,000 miles) and I brought this issue up to my dealership a little over a month ago. They said, Hey, thats not right, and wont get any better. So the way Hyundai does things, is to take a picture, and send it to the regional manager. About a week later, I got a call from the dealership saying the Hyundai representative denied replacement. I was a little upset, but the peeling wasnt too horrid yet.About a month down the road, the peeling has gotten really bad, and its about 2 inches long, and wraps halfway around the wheel. You barely touch the spot, and this black plastic just falls right off. I brought my car in again, for a new picture/replacement request. The representative again denied it. And the dealership said, Hes denying it because they have no fix right now, Hyundai knows its an issue and will just happen again if they replace it. So Im stuck with a crappy peeling, ugly steering wheel now. I even called Hyundai corporate and they said the regional manager has the final say.Way to go Hyundai, some 10 years/100k warranty you have there!

Bought a Hyundai Elantra 2010 at Linwood in Paducah. A/C not working but did not know it; accepted hot air from it as normal. Drove in this condition with my cat to Lexington, KY; cat suffered heat exhaustion. Took it to the Glenn Hyundai and they said they fixed it. Same problem cropped again and again. And sometimes I did not use A/C. When I took it the last time for the AC: Dealer rep accused me of going there a few times and not ever mentioning that the AC was a problem and once I had not hit the button. Dealer said fixed it the first time - that dye was placed and small valve problem fixed. But I heard nothing about this. This time by mistake I saw the dealers notes which said cracks on belt. But that was not mentioned to me. Why were these belts not replaced during warranty? Do they wait until the warranty is over to cheat? Also, early on, I drove to another city and felt the steering pulling to the right. Being inexperienced and afraid of big trucks, I drove into the guardrail but I distinctly felt the tug to the right. This was in Jan/Feb 2010. In 2014/2015, Hyundai asked Hyundai Elantra owners to go to the dealer and get this steering problem fixed. Surface of steering wheel, brake lever, brake and gas foot pad all eroding after only 1 yr or 2. Got a lemon. Regret buying Hyundai. Nightmare car!!!

I wish the Tucson had a power trunk and Im not happy with the radio as it doesnt show song titles like our previous model did. Nevertheless, it was our first time leasing so it made the vehicle quite affordable. The Tucson had a better price point than comparable models. It is also physically very attractive and is a beautiful color turquoise. It has a very modern looking interior and exterior as well.

2006 Sonata Extended Warranty has catches. All in all was very happy with this car, a 4-cylinder GL model. After 7 years sold it to a friend, who is also happy with it. Did have an extended warranty, but to fix anything on the body, the parts would have to be ordered, and the car left at the dealer all week while a rental car was used (included in the warranty). But I did not want to do this for minor issues. There was one such issue with the passenger’s power window, which did not operate smoothly. The dealer sprayed something into the door but it didnt do much good. Finally on a snowy winter day the cable snapped that controls the mechanism, so the window would no longer stay up. Ended up ordering the part on eBay and fixed it myself in my garage.

I have been working with Hyundai on my Trip Reimbursement Case #**, and I have been appalled by how poorly the customer service is. This happened in Jan, I submitted, it was LOST internally by Hyundai, so I resubmitted in May, and I am now sitting August 2nd and still have not heard anything about it. Hyundai is a multi-billion dollar corporation, and they cannot reimburse me for the ~$750 worth of incurred expenses from a warranty claim they did for a $35,000 car? This is insane, I will never buy from Hyundai again, and I cannot believe they are still a company with this sub-par customer service. So even though I have called dozens of times, and sent countless emails, I assume Hyundai is going to give me the same response as before, NO RESPONSE. We decided to switch to Ford and turn in our leased Hyundai five months early. We were aware of the $400.00 disposition fee Hyundai. We paid all remaining lease payments, the car had only 19500 miles and was in as new condition. 3 weeks after the transaction, we get a bill from Hyundai for $2,200.00. As it turns out, the residual value is out the window, they took the car to auction and sold it for $1000.00 less. After hours on the phone with Hyundai Finance, we got nowhere. All they said was Its in the contract. Yeah its there but you need a law degree to understand it.Their bill did not include our check for the final 5 payments which they acknowledged receipt, but even gave us a hard time when I ask for a new bill reflecting this payment. It appears we still have to pay them $795.88. Do yourself a favor. Either dont lease a car from any company who charges these fees, or bring your lawyer to when you pick up your car. For our part we will NEVER buy another Hyundai.

Painting problem of Hyundai Sonata 2009 - I bought a Hyundai Sonata Limited
Painting problem of Hyundai Sonata 2009 - I bought a Hyundai Sonata Limited on September 26, 2009 and I have been driving this car since then. On February 19, 2012, I discovered that the painting of my car was peeling off on the roof, hood and side of the car. The paint is peeling off in large layers not small portion. My car currently has 66,000 miles and is approximately two years old. I regularly check and change oil in my car every three months in Hyundai in McKinney, Texas. I wanted to solve the problem of my cars paint so I went the dealership in McKinney, TX where I bought my car. After discussing the problem, they suggested going to the Hyundai body. I went to the Hyundai body shop in Plano Texas. They estimated $1,948 for painting repair. The dealership said that I would have to pay to repair out of my pocket. It has been past warranty.I then contracted the Hyundai Consumer Affair about my cars problems and they too stated that my car was past warranty so it is my responsibility to pay for painting. My car has not been in an accident or has experienced any environmental factors that would cause the paint to peel. Before I bought my car, the car was driven by a dealership manager for a while who put approximately 5,000 miles on it. There were many of lock chip spots on the car and the paint was peeling off numerous places. I wanted to buy the car so dealership promised to fix the paint and sell it to me. I bought the car with the paint problem fixed. In my analysis, when Hyundai fixed the paint, they did not use quality paint or the paint that was already on the car was poor quality. The car once again has problems of peeling paint. I strongly believe that Hyundai has responsibility to fix the paint on my car.I understand that Hyundai set the rule to apply the warranty, however, I have not driven the car for three years yet. This paint problem is clearly a defect caused by the car manufacturer. I do not think I have a responsibility to fix the paint on my car because it is not even a three-year old car and the problem is the quality of the paint on the car. Hyundai must to provide quality customer service and provide quality manufactured vehicles to sell to the customers. It was my understanding that when I purchased the vehicles from Hyundai that I would receive both. Therefore, it is Hyundais responsibility to correct the paint problems on the car since I have not caused the paint to peel.

I leased my new 2020 Hyundai Tucson on June 30, 2020. Only a month later on August 1, 2020 the oil pump light appeared on board. Advised by the Blue Link representative I contacted from the car, I took the car to be serviced at the nearest dealership (different from the one I leased the car from). Once there, I was told they dont have a replacement car for me to drive while the car is in their shop and that the oil pump they ordered should arrive in a few days, and I am still waiting for it! I am an essential worker who needs a car to get to and from work! I called Hyundai customer service, I was assigned a case manager who had no clue what to do, what part I needed for my car or how to find out when it will be shipped. He recommended I rent a car while Im waiting for mine to be fixed (which could take weeks...) and said I will be reimbursed $30/day if I rent a Hyundai or $20 for a different car. I live in New York City, those are not the rental prices I can find here. Meanwhile, I am still paying for my lease and cannot use the brand new car! This is the second Tucson I have, but after this experience I will definitely switch car companies!

It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. In October 2013, I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Unfortunately, I trusted my local dealer because Ive had a good relationship with them for four years. Thats no longer a true statement. While shopping, and let me say it was a 6-hour ordeal trying to purchase the car on day 1, I mentioned numerous times that I drive 200 miles round trip to work. I finally picked a car and had to wait hours to get into the finance office to firm it up. While waiting, I noticed that the sticker on the window said the car comes with an emergency tire puncture repair kit in lieu of spare. I stopped the deal and told the salesman I must have a spare tire and jack. Period. He assured me that theyd get me one, but told me it really wasnt necessary because the car comes with 5 years of roadside assistance. I asked him if we shouldnt amend the paper they had asked me to sign saying they didnt owe me anything. He assured me it wasnt necessary. When it was my turn in the finance office, I mentioned to that man that we had just discussed the fact that I must have a spare tire and he assured me that the salesman would take care of me. I signed up, trusting when I shouldnt have trusted. Let me state here that I told the salesman over and over again that I did not want this car unless there was a spare. Well, turns out they did not have the certificate of origination, so I had to wait several days. Because I changed my mind about using my old car as a trade in, I went back and re-did all the paperwork. Then they delivered the car to me - not with a full tank of gas, as promised by the salesman and the Hyundai car sticker. I asked where was the spare and the salesman had the gall to say, What spare? When I reminded him of our numerous conversations, he stated, I didnt tell you that. I didnt promise you a spare. That ensued in an argument, and it didnt end well. In fact, I was instantly sorry I had bought the car. My mistake. I should have immediately refused delivery and demanded to see the manager. We told the salesman to order me a tire, and he said it would cost over $300. Well, why didnt they offer to add one on for $300 when I was paying for the car? Again, he said to me, If you get a flat, just sit in the car, lock the doors, and call the 800 number for Roadside Assistance. More lies.I spoke with the manager the next day and he said they would split the cost with me 50/50. I told him I was furious about the lies I had been told, but 50/50 was the best he could do. Since I was willing to pay $300 the day prior, I told them fine. 50/50 was cheaper than I could buy it myself. Wrong again. When I got home, I started reading the owners manual and on page 10, in fine print, it said that roadside assistance is good for 5 years for everything EXCEPT flat tires when the person was provided with an emergency puncture kit.I had just cancelled my personal roadside assistance plan! How in the heck does Hyundai think a puncture kit is going to help if I have a flat 100 miles from home, or late at night when no garage is open? This is a safety hazard. Even worse, they are using unfair consumer trade practices. The big signs on the dealership wall saying 5 YEAR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE sure dont have an asterisk and fine print below telling you what it doesnt cover. The salesman never once said they could not offer me a spare and jack as an option. In fact, he blatantly lied and said roadside assistance would cover me if I had a flat. Now let me tell you something Hyundai should understand. I would prefer to have NO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE and a spare tire than this pack of lies! They obviously didnt do any focus groups before they implemented this stupid marketing measure. They have lost me as a customer forever, and I believe a class action lawsuit is in order. As for the local dealer, they have lost my business. They sell Hyundais exclusively, so they better start praying for their business. They are going to learn that being disingenuous to customers in a small town will put them out of business more quickly than anything else. As for me, Hyundai sucks as a company. Id give anything to go back in time just a few days. Id rather give my purchasing dollars to a company with ethics.

I have a 2009 Santa Fe with 40,000 miles. While driving 8 hours in the rain on a road trip, the paint started flying off my hood and roof in huge chunks. I have never had an accident or a chip in the paint. The repair shop called to report they are having problems fixing the original paint loss because more keeps coming off. Now it looks like a complete new paint job will be required. Hyundai says the warranty is up at 35,000 miles for paint. The paint job is obviously defective from the factory; however my attempt to file a claim with Hyundai led nowhere. Picture is from before it went to the shop and more paint came off the roof, hood and doors.

This will be my LAST Hyundai. I will EVER buy. I just wish I have a bigger audience to advertise what a fraudulent auto company this is. You will NOT get this from Honda or Toyota. I got this vehicle (2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited) NEW. After 8 yrs of driving it, I lost the 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty because I just went beyond the 100,000. So on the last week of 2021, I nearly got stuck in the highway because the car would not accelerate and it was jerking all along. I quickly pull over to the side of the break down lane. My car was towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership that I can find. Due to a lot of people having trouble with their cars, the dealership told me I had to wait for 3 weeks before they have a chance to check my car. Then, I ask if they can give me a loaner car while this car is in service. This dealership like other Hyundai dealerships that I have worked with told me that they cannot.I read other feedbacks from people who gave their ratings here. I noticed there were many people with the same experience I had to go through with regards to a no loaner policy. I owned Honda in the past and no matter what condition my car is, Honda and its dealerships would NEVER let me go without a loaner. I even told the Hyundai dealership that I have an 80+ yr old parent I need to take care of and bring her to see the doctors often. I need a vehicle at all time but still, there is no luck. Now, i understand that maybe my vehicles issue is due to wear and tear. But still, if there is a RECALL, I would expect to get a loaner. NO way. no loaner even with recalls. And this vehicle had a TOTAL of 6 recalls! None of the recalls provided me with a loaner. What Hyundai asked is to have you save your receipts and ask for compensation in its online Hyundai USA system. DO NOT TRUST IT. Why? First, they tell you that they need 180 days to process it. Think about it.. 180 days to process a claim??? I submitted my rental in the past with everything including my receipts to them and you know what I got? After waiting for more than 180 days on one claim, I contact them. The lady on the other end told me the claim was denied and rejected. I said why? She just told me there was a mix up. But I personally did NOT EVEN get any notification of the rejection. Really, dont bother submitting a claim. You will not get a DIME from them. They will find every way to deny it even if it is a legitimate claim. if Hyundai has a No loaner policy, at least make the vehicles reliable. I have only 108,000 miles in my car. This auto company should be ashamed of themselves for making junks and unsafe vehicles for consumers and expect the consumer to pay for their mistakes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HYUNDAI. I dont understand why people here would give them a 4 or 5 star rating. Well, they shall know what I mean once they go beyond 100k miles in their vehicles. Perhaps they will regret that they praise this unprofessional company; and one last point if people do not know already, THIS IS NOT A JAPANESE COMPANY. This is a Korean company and it STILL has a reputation for making BAD CARS.

Secret room scam artists. Leased a car for my daughter in 2011.. When the lease was up we went to buy the car out due to the overmileage on the car and decided she really liked the car. After showing her this fabulous 2014 car they made a very appealing deal to her and she agreed to lease again. They bought her car and said they would pay the overmileage on the car and she is free and clear to lease a 2014. Ohh wait.... You want to keep the same payment??? Well then they said you have to put 1800$ down in order to keep payments where they were... Wait let me speak to my manager...Away to the secret back room to see if deal can be made but first initial this to show what you want your payment to be... Huh? Umm ok? (Btw my husband and I own 5 vehicles and the only place that has a secret back room is Hyundai in Dickson city).Ok long story short she signed and gave them $1800 for this 2014 Hyundai Elantra. 1 month later I got a letter stating I owed the overmileage on the 2011 Hyundai bought back off me to get me into the 2014. When I called Greg (my sales guy) he said he talked to Ray and it was simple mistake, not to worry, its all taken care of. We bought your car, therefore we paid your overmileage...Month 2 I get a second notice that my account on the 2011 is past due with interest $1592.27... Husband and I personally went up and again Ray, max Carlos, never came out of the secret back room but again I was assured it was taken care of, we bought your car... Yet no manager had the time to come out of hiding in the secret room. Finally a collections agency calls me and tells me I am placed in collections for an unpaid balance of the overmileage on my 2011 Elantra! They advised me to go to the dealership and advise them they need to either cut me a check for this amount or be on a conference call with me to clear this up.My husband and I go to dealership and demanded to get on a conference call with the cowards hiding in the back and was denied. I repeatedly kept asking for Carlos to please come out of hiding and talk to us like adults and make the call at the desk we were at. We were then told he couldnt because his computer was different and showed more info than the ones on front. Umm ok? So we said fine we will go in the back where Carlos is and use his phone and computer screen to straighten this out. Ok heres the best part... We were told Its very busy and dangerous back there. My husband responds.. Is there a car on a jack waiting to fall on our heads??!He absolutely denied us a conference call and our issues werent resolved until 2 days later when I contacted the collections agency and told them what I experienced... She immediately called them.. Had me on line and spoke with Carlos who agreed to pay my overmileage like he should have in the first place! Bottom line its a very shady place and they are hiding something or that conference call would have not been a problem!I have never ever been to a dealership like this and dont plan on ever going back... Except with my attorney if I get one more letter. I plan on contacting the attorney generals office, Better Business Bureau (oh wait they were already reported to them) and vow to never ever do business with them again. I never once got an apology but surprisingly they expected me to thank them for trying to help lol. Ummm thanks?
