Find big savings on Hyundai Automobile(s) at Auto Helpers. Low Prices.

The 2025 Hyundai Elantra is a sleek compact sedan that blends strong fuel economy, user-friendly features, and a modern design.

It comes with three engines. The base model uses a 2.0 L naturally aspirated four‑cylinder producing about 147 hp and 132 lb‑ft. A 1.6 L turbocharged four produces 201 hp and 195 lb‑ft in the Sport trim. The hybrid combines a 1.6 L engine with electric motors for a combined 139 hp and excellent efficiency. All versions use a smooth-shifting CVT, except the Sport, which gets a dual-clutch 7‑speed automatic.

Fuel economy is strong across the board. The base delivers around 33 mpg combined, the Sport about 29 mpg, and the hybrid achieves approximately 55 mpg combined—making it one of the leaders in the class.

Performance is balanced. The turbo Sport feels perky in daily driving, while the hybrid accelerates smoothly with immediate electric response at low speeds. Ride and handling are comfortable, with good steering feedback for a compact roomy cabin and stable feel on the highway.

Interior design feels upscale. Standard touchscreen is 8‑in, with an optional 10.25‑in display on higher trims. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Android Built‑in come standard on most models. Hybrid and upper trims give two USB‑C ports, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, leatherette trim, and a Bose stereo system in select trims.

Safety features are comprehensive across all trims. Hyundai SmartSense includes forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, blind‑spot monitoring, rear cross‑traffic alert, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with highway assist.

Cargo space is about 14.2 cu ft in the sedan body. Rear-seat legroom and headroom are competitive with rivals, and the cabin theme feels modern and clean.

Trim levels (U.S.) range from base SE to SEL, N Line Value, N Line, Hybrid, Limited, and Hybrid Limited. Pricing starts around USD $23,200 for the SE and rises to about USD $29,000 for the Hybrid Limited.

Real‑world owners praise the hybrid's fuel economy and the Elantra’s tech features and passenger comfort. Some drivers mention numb steering at low speeds on higher trims, and the NVH level is noticeable on rough roads, especially with summer tires. The dual-clutch gearbox in Sport is crisp in shifts but can be jerky at low RPMs in traffic.

In summary it’s a compelling compact sedan with hybrid excellence, modern styling, extensive safety tech, and strong value. It suits commuters and value-minded buyers, while the sporty turbo Sport variant offers more excitement without sacrificing comfort.

When shopping around I was looking for a convenience features. Sonata Hybrid 2016 was slightly better than other midsize hybrid alternatives. Looked at all these reviews on Edmunds and similar websites. From their perspective it looks good. After one month of driving (and pretty good experience) main battery broke. Brought it to a dealership. It took already 2 days just to localize the problem. Accordingly to them it will take another 1-2 days to get an answer from Hyundai what needs to be done. This is a car on a warranty. What happens when its out. I feel Im screwed. This is a new car. Just started to pay for it.

2014 Hyundai Tucson - We purchased this vehicle November 2017. Less than 8 months later, on July 8th, 2018, our vehicles engine caught on fire while driving on the interstate. There was NO warning sign prior to this. maintenance was kept up with as scheduled. Hyundai Tuscons are DANGEROUS. Please do not purchase a Hyundai vehicle. They are not recalling vehicles as they should be, and someone is going to end up dying over their engine problems.

I was quoted a finance rate at $3,000 over the posted sticker price. I was given ridiculous numbers and quoted an incorrect credit score. I was taunted on my way out the door by a sales person named Ryan, saying he hoped my next car purchase ended up on the side of the road. This was witnessed by my sister and every other customer in the show room. I’m buying a new Toyota right next door.

I took my car into the Hyundai dealership on 9/23/17 for service only because we received 2 recall notices, one for the engine and one for the steering coupler. There were no other issues. I was advised after technician checked the car there was a small split at top of left tire and car indeed failed their engine test and it would be replaced under the recall. On 10/19/17, received a call the car was ready for pick up. Upon checking out I was advised the technician noticed a noise coming from the steering rack. Mind you, before we dropped the car off, there were no issues or noises. Ok... was advised this is not covered under my warranty and would be around 1000.00 out my pocket to repair. After leaving the dealership noticed a metal scraping sound coming from middle of car. Went back to service dept that Saturday morning (10/21/17) around 9:15 am to advise and was asked when I wanted to bring the car back because technician that worked on my car was off and he had to be the one to work on it. Took car back that following Monday, 10/23/17, explained issue again and proceeded to walk in the waiting room. I forgot to ask the advisor a question so I went back to the service desk and overheard the technician that worked on my car talking to other advisors stating, I dont know what it could be. Maybe its the rotors. I know he was the technician that worked on my car because I asked him, Are you talking about my car... and no its not the rotors because we got them replaced along with the brakes about 2 weeks ago and there were no issues or noises afterwards. Ok, so technician takes car for a test drive and claims he didnt hear any noises!!!I drove the car this time with the service manager and guess what... he heard the noise. I was told by him they would handle the issue. After another check of the car, I was told this time, it was the Front end valve muffler making the metal scraping noise. The service manager submitted a goodwill courtesy request to have the repair done at 100%, then 50%... both denied due to warranty expired. Manager offered to repair at MY expense at the warranty rate of $506.56 for the part, $50.00 labor and $10.57 for gasket part. I feel like this was a technician error when reinstalling the engine due to the recall. My car was not having any issues or noises prior to dropping it off on 9/23/17, and again we only took it in due to the recalls. This is so unfair and poor customer service. I was warned by others not to go to this particular Hyundai dealership in Durham. I should have drove the extra miles to the one in Cary.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata last year in April 2015. I bought it used with about 89k miles on it. Up until Sep. 25th 2016, the car has been working perfectly. But about a week before that date, I noticed how badly the car was burning up oil. I was putting a quart in it every week because it would read low. On the 24th, I was driving with my 1 year old in the car and all the sudden the car started making a clanking noise. Thank God I made it home that night because I wasnt sure if I would without the car breaking down. When I got home, I turned the car off and turned it back on and it just sounded terrible. Sounded as if the whole engine was falling apart. The next day, I knew I wasnt going to be able to drive it.I called Columbia Hyundai in Cincinnati and I took it there to the shop on the 28th. They discovered that my car was part of the motor recall for that model car and that my car needed a new engine. It is now Nov. 9th 2016 and my car still has not been fixed. Its been in the shop for 6 weeks now. They still have a car in their shop from July that hasnt gotten a motor. I just got off the phone with them and they said it will maybe be the 1st week of December when they start getting motors. Shouldnt they have started mass producing these motors knowing there was a recall on the engine for thousands of cars? Makes no sense to me. Thankfully, Hyundai is 100% paying for the new motor and the rental car I am using. However, I am still making a payment every month on a car I do not have and I have asked Hyundai to reimburse me for this and they refuse to do so. Not very satisfied with Hyundai right now.

My husband was in a serious automobile accident and passed away because of the injuries in October. He leased a Genesis and the lease was up in October. When I turned in the car I ended up owing over 2500 because of mileage overage fees. I had wrote the CEO of Hyundai and the President of Hyundai finance to waive the fees. We incurred the overage charges because we had to go see my critically injured husband in the hospital and drove over 100 miles each day. They would not waive the fees and submitted the fees to collection which lowered my credit score. I have incurred medical expenses due to my husband death and had to sell my home. I am unable to get an apartment thanks to Hyundai. My credit score was lowered and I did not qualify. I did pay this bill in full and I still had my credit score lowered. I will never buy another Hyundai again. My husband and I did love our cars but I was just blown away with how heartless these people are. We have leased two cars from Hyundai and I bought my car. They clearly got quite a bit of money from us already but they did not have the heart to help out a widow who had medical bills and is just trying to survive. In fact I am trying to figure out where I am going to live right now. I had a friend who also lost her husband and the car dealer waived the overage fees. It was not Hyundai. I wish I bought my car from another dealership. Heartless, Heartless, Heartless and Greedy.

HYUNDAI IS THE WORST WORST WORST! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN CORPORATE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. Everyone in my family owns a Hyundai. My son has a 2012 Sonata that started burning oil. He brought it to Star Hyundai who fixed the problem but actually made things worse. He then brought the car to Plaza Auto Mall where he purchased the car and was told he needed a new engine due to what Star Hyundai did. The warranty claim was denied because they said he never had an oil change. He then produced 8 receipts showing all the oil changes he indeed did have and still they declined the warranty work. He was told that we had NO RIGHT to know why it was denied. On Feb 16TH I spoke to a MS. ** who said she would get back to me within 48 hrs to find out why it was denied. It is now March 5th and still no call back. Today I called corporate and theOPERATOR would not let me tell her what the problem was. When I tried to speak she said SHUT THE ** UP then she hung up. I called back repeatedly and every time she hung up. I have traded in my car and will be buying a Subaru. My son unfortunately was so desperate he traded in his car at Plaza Auto Mall and leased a new Sonata - which we all regret.

My car was taken into Delray Hyundai on February. My complaint was that my car, on two occasions, raced out of control while pulling away from a gas pump. It took a great effort to stop the car from having an accident. Hyundai service reported that nothing was wrong with the car. On August, while in a strip mall looking for a parking space, my car went out of control causing a five car accident. Hyundai refused to turn over my car to my insurance company for inspection. It has been two weeks and I am totally in the dark except that I was told that it now was being handled by the National office. It could take 10 weeks to be inspected. It does not take that long to build thousands of cars. There is no doubt that time is in their favor since I will soon have to rent a car at my cost. It is near impossible to contact the CEO, to expedite this matter.

Love this Hyundai SUV! We have over 200,000 miles on it and it just keeps going and going! Weve gone on many road trips and it handles like a dream. Weve traveled from CA to Florida a couple of times and never any problems. The car holds all our luggage on road trips, keeps us protected and fun to drive. I love the heater/air conditioner, smooth ride, the rear seat folds down to hold our luggage on long trips and for any big items we may buy and very comfortable to sleep in if we need to. But I wish they would make it a little better on mileage.

Colonial Hyundai and Hyundai in general is one of the worst car companies I’ve ever dealt with. My Hyundai Tucson has been in the service department since March of 2021 to get the engine replaced on it and it STILL hasn’t been fixed! They gave me a downgrade of a rental car to drive and I was made to believe by the service worker (Kimberly) who is over my car that I would have my Tucson fixed in a couple weeks. Since then all I have gotten is nothing but LIES from her and the service department! They recently told me that it could take between the middle of July towards the beginning of August until my car is completed, which is utterly ridiculous! I’ve had 3 case managers since then trying to work on my behalf and they’ve checked for updates and somehow can’t really do anything to get my Tucson fixed any sooner. What’s even more disappointing is that Hyundai will not take full responsibility for their wrongdoing! I called to speak to the General Manager (Talal) of sales to discuss other options. I was suppose to meet with him last Saturday but had another obligation to come up and could not make it. I called to let him know and did not receive a call back. So I called again today so I could see when I could meet with him next but he wasn’t there. I left my contact information for him to call me back but I’ve noticed over time they will not call you back so you have to keep calling. As a customer, I’ve been treated like crap and as if my concerns don’t matter! They really could care less! Hyundai is an absolutely awful company!!!

Now they have placed a lien on my car because I cannot come up with roughly $13,000.00 for the car that was repossessed. I have been making monthly payments until I get it resolved ($13.000.00). I have never been late/ahead on my 2011 Hyundai Tucson. They have been unwilling to cooperate with me about this issue.I corresponded in writing (30 days in advance). Im permanently disabled & on a set salary. They said to contact them within 30 days, which I did, & heard nothing from them. I have paid $1,600.00 toward the repossession. Now they have placed a lien on my car. I replied to them in writing, no phone, & have not heard anything. I told them I could not obligate myself for a set amount because of medicine, doctor bills, medical bills, & daily living expenses in this economy. Like I said, I have heard nothing in writing from them. I am supposed to cooperate with them, while in return they have not assisted me. I signed 2 cars from them.

Front bumper falls off very easily on Sonata - Be very careful when pulling into a parking spot with a tire stop installed like most handicapped parking spots. I went about 2 inches too far and heard a scrape on the tire stop. I backed up slowly, and it pulled my front bumper off the car on one side. I pushed it back into place and taped it up to drive home. They are the cheapest little plastic devices that hold the bumper on the car, and once they break (according to my dealer), you have no choice but to replace the whole front end of the car ($1,104.00). When speaking to the body shop for Hyundai, they explained that Hyundai used to warrant this problem, but there were so many that they quit doing it. They said they had replaced over 25 of these recently. I went through all the Hyundai customer options, but they would not help in any way. There is nothing to keep this from happening again except being very careful when you park. I will never buy another Hyundai again because of this. Very cheap manufacturing and possibly dangerous. I hate to see this happen with our car companies. I never had this happen with any other car in the last 50 years I have been driving. Just an additional note, there is not a scratch anywhere on the bumper except underneath and nothing broke or cracked except these cheap fasteners which are attached to the bumper. Some of the other plastic parts under the bumper have to be replaced as well. Hope this helps others, and I wish I knew about it before I bought this car.

A swamp-like smell was coming from ac. So third time they performed a neutralization & deionization which resulted in an intense foul citrus odor. fourth time they installed a frigi-clean evap foam, new air filter & deodorization of vehicle interior which has resulted in another intense foul odor causing breathing problems. These foul odors were making me ill giving me a headache, burning eyes, throat & allergies & asthma. I told them from beginning I have these medical issues. after the third try I was told by service mgr troy that they had done all they could to resolve problem. after confronting him re: my displeasure he said he would call his people at Hyundai to see what they wanted to do. Next thing woman who sold me car is calling me??? I bought this Hyundai elantra 2013 new in 5/2012. I said I wanted to meet with the owner of Hyundai dealership. I had an appt on Sat to do so. I arrive on time Sat & am told by saleswoman owner left at 3 pm day before & will not be in. I was livid. So now general mgr comes out to talk to me in a private office & then the service mgr joins us & listen to my complaints & then tell me they have another procedure (4th one) that will take care of problem. They gave me a loaner where previously I had been refused one when requested. I work full time & have been inconvenienced many times having to take days or half-days out of work or inconvenience someone to take me to drop off & pick up car to be serviced b/c I was never told until recently they had a shuttle service.I have filed a complaint with Hyundai complaint center; waiting to hear from regional office & have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Unfortunately my car is paid for or I would park it on dealership doorstep while I filed complaints. the car looks beautiful on outside but like some people looks are deceiving & rotten on the inside. This car is a lemon. I want a new car or my $ back. I have two friends who purchased a Toyota car the same time I purchased my car. they have not had this problem. I have owned my 2009 Hyundai Elantra since new, and have had a rear rattle problem since new. The car has been in and out of numerous dealerships in the past four years with no one being able to find the source of the rattle. The aggravation has been enormous. This is clearly not a rare problem, as there have been countless articles online about the same problem I have, from other Elantra owners. I am throwing in the towel on Hyundai. I will never get near any Hyundai product again. When they first arrived in North America 25 years ago, their cars were absolute junk, especially structurally. I personally thought they sorted out those problems over a very long period of time. It is now clear, they have not. They are getting favorable write ups in the media, but I dont think that will last. My experience has truly been a nightmare.

I bought an Elantra car for Hyundai Des Moines dealer, actually I bought a lemon. I bought this car because its fuel efficiency as they advertise it is 28-38 mile, but in the first day I found that its mpg is 24 and it stated drop by time and after one week it become 17.5. That is unbelievable. It is like a big SUV. I contact the company and they requested to put it in service. This is not acceptable. A new car go to service in the first two weeks. The government must protect the customer from the liar car companies and we must be able to return the car if it is not as they said. Another serious issue was its tire - it has no traction on snow. Josh, my roadside assistance mechanic, was early and could not have been nicer. He was finished with my tire replacement in ten minutes or less and answered all of my questions. I leased my 2015 Sonata Sport in Feb of 2016. It had been a service loaner and had almost 5000 miles on it at delivery. After about six months in Aug of 2016 my car would not start and I had to call Hyundai Roadside to jump it. I brought it into the dealer the following week. They tested the battery, said nothing was wrong, and suggested I did something to cause the battery drain. Well, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Nov of 2016. This time they said the battery was bad and replaced it. Even after replacing the battery, I continued to have the problem and brought the car back to the dealer in Jan of 2017. This time they blamed the problem on the Allstate insurance device I have plugged into the car and they said the battery was bad too. So they replaced the battery for the second time and I had the Allstate device replaced.I continued to have the same problems. I brought the car back to the dealer the following month and they said they could not replicate the issue and found nothing. It seems that my vehicle battery dies when I dont use the vehicle for a period of time – often 1.5 - 2 days, but it has died from sitting unused in as little as 22 hours. Since I continue to have this issue without any real help from the dealer, I contacted Hyundai consumer affairs in April of 2017 and they have been slow to take any action. I did not receive any actionable info from them until 2 weeks after I first called... They called the dealer I had been working with and the dealer told them they thought the issue was the insurance device (even though they found no problems the last time I had the vehicle there, with the device plugged in).So my Hyundai case manager told me they could not do anything until the insurance device was ruled out as a cause. I removed the device and purposefully did not drive the vehicle for a full day and surprise, the car was dead. So I called my case manager at Hyundai and told her what happened and that the device could be ruled out. Now she is checking to see if or when (her words) a Hyundai specialist can look at the car. Hopefully, it wont take another two weeks to find that out. It seems Im not the only person with this issue as a couple other reviews very recently indicate the same problem on the same year/make/model and with even the same time frame the problem began! I guess its time for me to find a lawyer too.

I bought a Hyundai Elantra in 2007 with a three year warranty. Within the first two weeks, the indicator switch had to be replaced. A week later, the noise was back. I took it to the local supplier but they could not find the fault. My husband kept on saying that they should look at the release bearing and they ignored it. The car was eventually taken to Johannesburg, and a week later, I was informed that it was the release bearing. Remember, this was over a period of a year. They replaced the release bearing just before the warranty expired. All was fine for a few months and then we heard a noise in the engine. I took it in and was told that the valve lifters had to be replaced at a cost of $4,200.00. I phoned head office but they replied that it was out of warranty and not their problem anymore. The day we collected the car, we noticed that the noise had not disappeared. Fortunately, our car was at the wash bay when the workshop exploded (not so sure it was fortunate). The mechanic who released the car to us admitted that there was a noise, but seeing that they had no equipment, nothing could be done about it at that stage. When they arranged for an alternative workshop and the proper equipment, I took the car in. To my utter amazement, they phoned me a day later to tell me that the oil pump, timing chain, and tensioner had to be replaced at a cost of $10,000. Fix one thing and another one appears. What guarantee do I have that this will be the end of my woes and that the problem has been diagnosed properly? I spoke to the Manager, Ben, and told him that I wanted a second opinion and that I would take the car to Bloemfontein. He agreed with me and told me that a car with 70,000 km on the clock should not have all these problems and that I should take it further. I was really excited when I received my brand new car but now, I feel like setting it alight. My husband is so frustrated that he just wants to get rid of the car. We listened to an engine of a similar Elantra - what a difference. My brother in law had an Elantra which clocked 600,000 km and it hardly ever had any problems and that is one of the reasons why we bought one.Let me just say that the local supplier and his staff had always been helpful and friendly, but they can only help to a point and after that they have to abide by Imperials Rules. I will not stop until something is done about it.I appeal to you. Please see what you can do for me.

I own a 2012 elantra. And while Im driving it seem the rear suspension rolls. From side to side. This only happens when I roll over a bridge bump, I ask the Hyundai dealer what could be the problem and their answer was the shocks need replaces. They replaced the shock twice but this did not solve the rear rolling. The top mechanic couldnt understand why this was happen. Superior Hyundai really doesnt have a clue why my car rolls. What can I do to have this fix?

I bought an Elantra GT with 24,500 miles on it on April 1st. Right away we realized the car had several issues, one of which being the fuel economy. We averaged 17-18 mpg in town and never more than 26-27 on the hwy. Then we noticed a hissing noise when shifting, and a ping/chatter to the engine while accelerating. Then we noticed a metallic ringing when the A/C is on. The CD player was also non-functional. There were some other smaller issues as well, but Hyundai has been working to resolve them. The CD player was fixed, as with some other small things. The engine and transmission noises, poor fuel economy, and metallic ringing, were not able to be diagnosed after several attempts. Now Hyundai is working with me to do a manufacturer Buyback/lemon claim. They are extremely polite, prompt with responses, understanding of my situation and more than willing to help me. Within hours of contacting them via email, I had an open case with its own case number and everything. Currently they are confirming that nothing can be done to fix the car, then we will move forward with the buyback. They have stayed in constant contact, and always in a timely manner. Very pleased with Hyundai overall. If you have a legitimate case, Hyundai will provide legitimate help.

In July, our car broke down in Georgia. We live in New Jersey. We had Roadside Assistance bring it to the nearest dealership. The dealership told us it was our transmission but the car was still under warranty. It took five days to get a rebuilt transmission and put it in. In the meantime, we were stuck in Georgia. I was told to send originals of my expenses to Roadside Assistance. It cost me over $700.00 for hotel, rental car and food for five days. They only reimbursed me $300.00, which they said was the max amount. So why bother telling people to send in the receipts for hotel, food and car rental? While we were driving home, we heard a rattling noise that wasnt there before. I called Global Hyundai in Plainfield when we got home and explained the situation. They said they would have to charge us to diagnose the car because they hadnt done the original repair. I called Hyundai Corp. and they said that wasnt right, to have Global call them, but before we had a chance, the trans went again. I had it towed to Global and they they said they fixed the problem. They wouldnt address the rattling noise unless I paid for it because they said it had nothing to do with the trans. I dont know how they knew this since they never diagnosed the problem. We have had the car back one week and the trans went again. They said we need to upgrade the trans and that we would have to pay for it. I called Hyundai Corp. again and they said the trans computer should have been updated when they replaced the trans in Georgia and that they would call Global to tell them to fix it at no cost to us. This has been a horrible experience and I would never buy another Hyundai again or any car for that matter from Global Auto Mall in Plainfield, NJ.

My original fuel pump went out at 80,000+ miles (2011), so I replaced it with a Hyundai part. Three months later at 86,000 miles, this Hyundai fuel pump went out. Now, 20 months later, the same issue, fuel pump #3. No warranty and $417 part out again. Hyundai dealers know this is an issue. It is well published I found out on the internet after my first encounter. Hyundai needs to take care of this issue if they wish to continue to sell vehicles in the US. Hyundai is using refurbished parts and refuse to admit there is an issue. I was told today they do not warrant their parts for more than 12 months. Now, I can no longer utilize the dealership of my vehicle because of faulty parts. Tempe Hyundai service manager would not help in any way. My next recourse is to contact the Hyundais General Manager. I feel everyone should know and stop buying their products if they cant build dependable parts and vehicles.

I traded in my 2013 Kia Optima SXL for a 2015 Kia Optima SXL. I used the $5850 left after my payoff as my downpayment on a lease. I was in a horrible crash two weeks after and the car had 586 miles on it and it was totaled. My insurance said the car is so new they werent depreciating it, but Hyundai only says I will get back $3986.45 so I now have to lose part of my downpayment. My insurance handled this in a week and I have to pay out of my pocket because Hyundai says it will take about a minute to give me what Im due back! They have their money right away. Gap insurance obviously isnt worth it if the car is new.

I bought a 2007 Hyundai Elantra in 2012. In 2013 I started having problems with getting the car to start. I took it to the dealership and was told I needed to have the Immobilizer Module fixed. I paid $400 to have them replaced and I was told I would have to wait for the little security symbol to appear on the dash before turning the key so the car would start. Even months after having this fixed it would still not start even after waiting for the stupid symbol to appear. It would take several tries. Then a few months later one of my back passenger door handles broke and you couldnt open the door. Fine, whatever... no one ever sits in the backseat anyway. Then the A/C died and I wasnt paying to have that fixed. Then in July 2015 I am driving down the freeway and I felt a thud and thought I had run over something. I looked in the rear view mirror but there was nothing on the road. I got to my destination and when I restarted the car, the engine light was on. I really didnt want to take it to the dealership so I took it to a mechanic and he scanned it and a code for the Shift Solenoid came up. He suggested I take it to this transmission specialist place. I ended up paying $1000 to have the Shift Solenoids replaced. A week later, Im driving and feel that thud again. Back to the transmission place. They tell me that it could be something internal with the transmission. Nice to know after I just dropped $1000 on this piece of **. I finally take it to Hyundai and leave it with them for the day. The service guy calls me and gives me a list as long as my arm of things wrong with the car... one being that the transmission is failing and the Immobilizer Module that I had fixed in 2013 needs replaced. In total, it was going to cost $5000 to fix all that was wrong with the car. EFF THAT. I went and bought a new car and it wasnt a Hyundai.

I had never bought anything but a Chevrolet or a Ford and I always had a full size car. The Hyundai was the first foreign car and the first small car that I have purchased. Hyundai Motor Finance sent us an unsolicited pre-approval. We were in the market for a new car, Hyundai vehicles had good ratings so we went to the Hyundai dealer. We should have known from the get go that something was fishy, they tried to change the rates/terms in the pre-approved letter, then the $2,500 discount magically disappeared from the final contract, they then said it did not apply to pre-approved offers, though it had been on the first contract they showed us. Our mistake - It was now 10 at night, we went ahead signed the papers and drove the car home. Problems started with the first payment that they claimed not to receive the paper check in the mail, then paying online was not an option, so we went to Western Union and sent them a payment. Second payment same issue. They seem to have real administrative problems processing and keeping track of paper checks. Third payment we sent in a double payment to cover the month ahead. 2 months later they processed the check, it bounced for NSF ($10 difference in our bank account). They repossessed the car with no warning, no contact, no opportunity to even know that the payment they took 2 months to process had now bounced. They took our car over 300 miles and 6 hours away to another state and gave us less than 10 days to reclaim the car (with hundreds in extra fees for towing and storage now applied). Every attempt to process paperwork with them was a waste of time. We spent over 12 hours on hold in a period of 3 days trying to resolve this, only to be cut off, transferred, or just plain left in limbo. One day we were on hold over 2 hours when it hit 5 PM, and we were disconnected because their office closed. We finally got one human on the phone who was willing to help us and would fax paperwork for us over to the dealer. It never arrived. The finance dept at the dealership was equally baffled and attempted to help us resolve the issues but Hyundai finance wouldnt ever cooperate with the dealers office.Of the limited number of days we had to reclaim our car, 4 of those days were weekend days which their office was closed. So we had 6 working days to try to resolve this with an office that we could never get through to except on a very few occasions (I think we actually got a human 3 times out of about 40-50 tries). No paperwork ever arrived at the dealer, they would not accept any paperwork that the dealer had on hand (it had to be their special forms). Our car was over 300 miles away in another state. We had the cash - but because of their convoluted procedures, and lack of help, and terrible staffing on their customer service lines - WE LOST OUR CAR!Where did our car end up? At a Hyundai dealer in Ohio that seems to have a car lot brimming with dozens of used Hyundais, less than one year old with low miles (like our car), that are for sale at almost the same price as when they were brand new, but with used car interest rates, with car loans offered by - you guessed it - Hyundai finance! We were out our $2,000 down payment, our $4,000 trade in, + 2 payments, and now with the extra fees Hyundai STILL wants an ADDITIONAL $3,500 from us for a car we had less than 4 months. Our credit is wrecked (the repo lowered our score over 120 points instantly). In hind sight - this seems like a terrible scam where they are selling the cars twice, the second time at higher interest rates at almost the same price as brand new, and racking up impossible fees, and unwilling to work with consumers to get their cars back.4 months with our Hyundai cost over $10,000 - not a bargain in anyones book. Their lack of customer service, inability to reach them, the stonewalling as we tried to get the money to them to reclaim our car - they just made it absolutely impossible. And sending our car over 300 miles away - how high do they have to make the hurdles? We live in a metropolitan area with plenty of auction lots where the car could have gone to, sending it 300 miles away was overkill, designed to make it even more difficult for us. The finance manager at the local dealer was left shaking his head. Apparently 300 miles is the MAXIMUM that they are allowed by law to take the car and they took it to the max (12 miles further according to MapQuest). Shady.

Wifes auto started to act funny on way home from work as started to lose power and all lights on dash lit up. She was able to pull over to side of road and called me to come jump her as we thought the battery was dead as everything came on. We didnt recall anything about roadside assistance since it happened a short distance from home but thought that our regular mechanic could tow us and report what the problem was. He found out that the alternator was bad causing the battery to go dead and replaced the alternator from Hyundai in Rockford, IL. He gave me the old one as there was no aftermarket alternator available and thought the warranty would cover the cost since the car is less than three years old and only has 34,000 miles on it. We looked at all the paperwork in our box when we purchased the car and found we were covered by Hyundais warranty and had purchased a Titanium package or Advantage package as well that also covers things such as the alternator. I called the sales department to talk to the person who sold us the car but he no longer works at the dealership. I was directed to the service manager and sent attachments of the repairs and he talked to his representative who said he could not reimburse us for the repairs as he did not have the means to do that. The service manager gave us customers relations to contact and a case number was given: **. I talked to Shana the second time in customer relations but she would not discuss reimbursement nor answer or compromise about anything. I asked the cost of towing to the nearest Hyundai facility, hourly labor rate, cost of rental and cost of replacement of part as well as inconvenience on such a cold day/night but was not given any information except none of the repairs would be covered because a Hyundai dealership did not perform the repairs. I would imagine the cost of the repairs that I paid were far less than the expense written off by Hyundai, but they will not talk about any compromise or reimbursement. I guess I have to have a lawyer give me some assistance in this matter as I am disabled and on a fixed income so every penny is important to me.

New I10 Not Working: This is to inform you that I had purchased a new Hyundai i10 Asta on 11th April 2012. The vehicle was registered under registration no. **, and the same was delivered to me at 7pm on 11th April 2012. After taking possession of the car, I left for my residence at Naigaon. As I was closing towards Naigaon, my vehicle stopped working after a run of just 68 kms and was completely dead. I parked the vehicle and next day, I called up their call center and complained for the same. I was given a complaint no. (job no. **). Their technician, Mr. **, reached the spot and inspected the vehicle. After nearly working for two hours on the vehicle, he reported that the vehicle cannot be repaired as it would not start; hence, it had to be towed to their Thane workshop. He called certain concerned people, asked for a tow van and gave a report form giving details as vehicle not starting, alternator problem, taken by towing. From there onwards, my turmoil to get my vehicle repaired started. I called up the showroom from where I had purchased my vehicle and spoke to their sales manager, Mr. **, tel no. **, who promptly shifted his responsibilities to Mr. **, tel no. **, stating he is the technical in charge and will be able to help me out. On contacting him for two days, I got only one reply from him that we are trying to locate the fault. On pressing him to give me a proper status of my vehicle, he abruptly said that he was not concerned about it and was just trying to help me out and I should be contacting their technical in charge of Thane workshop, Mr. **, mobile no. **, as the vehicle was in their possession. After explaining to Mr. ** the entire case, he to promised to come back and report the same. As I did not get any response from him in the next 24 hours, I called him back on which he told me his assistant, Mr. **, will keep me updated of the status. I waited for another 24 hours waiting desperately for his call. I called Mr. ** and informed him that I have not received any call from Mr. **, on which he was very courteous of giving me his mobile no. ** (Mr. **). He called me up in the next 10 minutes and Mr. ** was the first person to update me that the vehicle had some alternator problem which they will replace and the vehicle should be ready by 16th April evening. After calling him again in the evening for my vehicles delivery, he told me that there were still some problems with the new alternator as the current was fluctuating and the vehicle needs further inspection for a day. I asked him if I could speak to someone senior but he could not provide me with any. In my desperation, I went to the Hyundai site address and got the number of M/S **, assistant manager, western division regional office, tel no. 022 40969000. On speaking to her, I thought I am coming close to solving my problem who promised me that she will look in to the matter and come back within an hour. After contacting her after an hour, she told me that I will see that my regional manager will personally look in to my case and by tomorrow, she will be coming to some solution. On 17th April, I tried to call M/S ** but I couldnt go through her tel. no. But I got a call from Mr. ** stating that the alternator replaced was also defective and they were waiting for a new alternator to arrive. This probably was the peak of any company being so irresponsible and hence, I once again called and told M/S ** that I do not wish to take a repaired vehicle, where their best technicians as claimed could not locate the problem in nearly six days for a brand new vehicle which was used for only three hours and approximately 70 kms. After purchasing a brand new vehicle and it stopping within three hours of delivery and me desperately calling nearly 125 times to their six top company representatives in the last six days and going in to hardship like getting stranded in the middle of the night and using a car on rental for the last seven days, my problem has no solution as I was forwarded to one more executive Mr. ** (**) by M/S ** as she had to go to Pune and could not attend to my problem. Last but not the least, Mr. ** has once again promised to look in to the matter fairly. As a customer, I dont deserve to suffer like this whereby I will be forced to address my complaint to the Consumer Forum as no solutions are seen.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Elantra in Feb. 2011. The only reason I bought this car was for the gas mileage advertisement, 29 city/40 hwy. I was getting 22 city and 40 hwy. This was acceptable, even though the city was 7 miles lower. After my 3000 mile oil change, I am now getting 16 miles city. I have taken my car to the dealer. They said they could not gauge city driving. I asked them what is the problem. They tested the car on the highway going 30 miles. They said they averaged 34 miles. I am totally dissatisfied with the low mileage. Most of my driving is city/partial highway and I am hard time living with this situation. In 2010, I had a Nissan Altima, loaded and got 18 city miles and in the mid 30s highway. Presently, I am averaging 177 miles to 10.5 gallons of gas. Is there anything I can do about this?

Let me start at the beginning. I bought the 2018 Hyundai Sonata from Hyundai of Milford. I cam back for my first oil change and all went well. When the second oil change came around, they explained that in order to comply with warranty conditions, I needed to rotate the tires (a charge of about 85.00 with the oil change). No problem, I said. When I get the car back, I notice the tires were never rotated and I was charged. My understanding as they explained it to me is that if the services were not completed, it would void the warranty. They claim I was given a couple of free oil changes. Although they also said the tires would be rotated too, so I am really not so sure what I got. During one of the alleged free oil changes, I was told there was a software update. Again, I said, No problem, and they claim to have completed it.Anyway, so in August, I was 50+ miles from home, stopped at a car wash, grabbed a bite to eat and to my surprise, when I came out of the restaurant to start the car, the check engine light comes on. I had no acceleration whatsoever. Using their roadside assistance, I was towed from Windsor, CT to Branford Hyundai. It was Sunday, so the service department was closed. Service called me the following day to inform me that the main wiring harness was supposed to have been replaced when the software update was done. This tow cost me $130.00 since the roadside assistance only towed up to 20 miles. They kept the car for 2-3 days and finally called me and stated that the car was ready and all set. So, I picked up the car and a month a half later, guess what happens? Once again, I am in Windsor driving down the highway in the pouring rain and out of nowhere, the check engine light comes on again and the acceleration just stops. I have a car behind me that almost plows into me as a result. I coast off the next exit to a service station and again call for a tow truck. I used roadside assistance from another service that I have because it was a little cheaper and the second tow cost me $92.00.I towed it again to Branford Hyundai, it was Sunday again, so they were not open. I had to Uber to work the next day and waited all day for the service department to call me. They finally did at the very end of the day, after I called them a couple of times. I called them before I had to leave work, and they said they had not looked at it yet. When I got home, they called and said my car was all set. I got there, and the serviceman states, the problem was the knock sensor, and it should have been replaced when the wiring harness was replaced, he then stated, and I quote that this has been happening a lot and it was driving them crazy. We have been dealing with a lot of them and I should have replaced the knock sensor the last time you were here, sometimes we dont need to replace them though.I was told to send in both towing bills and receipts to corporate and I would be reimbursed for both towing bills. Well, when I did, I got an email suggesting that I sign a statement releasing them from liability for any further repairs related to the recall, and this would be the only way I would get reimbursed for the second tow only. I find their business practice unprofessional and they do not stand behind the products they sell. I refused to sign any documents, they said they would not reimburse anything if this was not signed. Very poor business practice. As a result of their carelessness, I am out $222.00 and am working harder than ever to get out of the car I am in, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata is NOT safe to drive. I am making sure that I let everyone I know (and that is a lot of people) not to buy from Hyundai or Kia (since they are the same manufacturer), and if they already did, to investigate whether the services they are completing are actually being done. I no longer have any ounce of trust in either of them and question their integrity. They need to be investigated by some authorities regarding their business practices since there are so many of their cars on the road. Based on the comments of the serviceman at Branford Hyundai, there seems to be a lot of them. If you happen to be behind one on the road BE CAUTious! The car may just lose power and cause a serious accident.

At 61000 miles, my power steering on my 08 Elantra failed - told by dealer service the sensor had to be replaced but since sensor so embedded within steering column, the only way to fix was to replace whole column. Because car was 1k miles over warranty, Hyundai would not cover - they paid half. Fast forward to today - just 40k miles later, power steering failed again. I cant afford the cost for Hyundai service to fix again. This is also not the only repeat problem Ive had with the car. Wondering if I have a lemon or if there is a different problem causing the sensor to fail. Reported to Hyundai - they wont do anything for me since they helped with the cost last time. Dealer told me they have never heard of anything like this and they say there is nothing they can do without approval from Hyundai corporate. Guess Im stuck with a car I cant drive. I had booked for ITEN Model on 12th April 2010 with M/s. K.C.Hyundai, Jam mu by paying an advance of Twenty Thousand only via R.No.354 via their retail order form No.3574 with a delivery time of 15 days from the date of booking. Subsequently when I had visited your another dealer M/S. Crest Hyundai show room, they had told me that I will be given delivery of the vehicle of model that is readily available. Then I had been to K.C.Hyundai and had a talk with the sales person and he was told me that I am at liberty to cancel the booking and the advance will be refunded. I had been to Crest Hyundai show room on 16th April 2010 and I had chosen the Santro GL LPG and took the delivery of the same via their bill No.69 on the same day. Subsequently to cancel my booking on 19th April 2010 and refund the advance paid to them. I was told by them to come after two days and subsequently three days and subsequently concerned person is not there like that they had dragged me up to 4th May 2010 and issued me a letter stating that your booked car had arrived and to make the balance payment and collect the car. As I had mentioned above, its about the poor response towards customer care. I would like to share with your esteemed organization the I had very good image and brought your company brand car to satisfy my thirst. Whereas your dealer had deceived me in his dealing and till date i.e., up to 31st December 2011. I would like to seek an advise to take up the matter with consumer forum or will you make an alternative arrangement, as I would like to keep the positive mind towards your company products. I hope you advise me in a right manner at the earliest and I am told to mail the documents proof also.

I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought
I am writing to you today regarding my Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that I bought brand new in August 2016. It’s been less than 2 years and we already had to take our vehicle to the mechanic 4 times to the Hyundai maintenance service. After going to Hyundai mechanics numerous times they are still uncertain about the fault in my vehicle. My wife and I have been very disappointed with our first Hyundai Sonata. Numerous times we have gone back to the Hyundai maintenance shop to attempt to have our vehicle fixed, which then follows up with me getting a rental car for the day. The very following next day I have to pick up my car again as the mechanic tells me the issue is resolved but it’s not. I’ve listed the days below for details when my Sonata has malfunctioned.Heading from Santa Clara to San Francisco about 40 miles drive. Was looking for parking and when in the middle of the road my vehicle decided to stop without any warning. It wouldn’t start and we had to wait about 20-25 minutes for my car to start again. We followed up with Hyundai the next day and they said they didn’t find any issues with it. Therefore I wasn’t able to have any record of it in the Hyundai maintenance system. The second time it occurred when my wife and I were heading to Long Beach for our Babymoon. Our issue happened multiples times during our trip. Every time we stopped by at the gas station our vehicle malfunctioned. We had to wait 30 minutes before the car would start again. At that time I felt very unsafe as I had my pregnant wife with me and was hoping the car wouldn’t stop while I was driving. Due to the malfunction, our trip was not only delayed but dangerous for my wife.During this time they had found a fault in the vehicle and had to replace BMS. Invoice number ** on Feb 7th 2018. Our third accident happened after getting my vehicle back from the maintenance, I had to go to SF Airport to pick up my friend and the car stopped again! Replaced OPU, OL Pump Unit. Invoice number ** on Feb 14th 2018. The fourth accident happened when we had an emergency and had to take our dog to the vet for his surgery and after dropping him off my car stopped again! Replaced PRA. Invoice number ** on Feb 20th 2018. Mileage of my Vehicle still under 50,000The Hyundai service center has not been able to find the problem and resolve it even after having numerous types of test. After going to the Hyundai service center numerous times, I have the fear of my vehicle of being very unsafe and I don’t want to take any kind of risk with my family in it. I am afraid that my vehicle will stop at the stop light or worse during the drive. Looking forward to hearing back from you regarding Hyundai Malfunction Issue.

End of last year Nov 2011, I decided to buy a new car for my wife. Considering the economy was not so good, we decided to find a car which has low fuel consumption in the category of 1.6 and below. After making various market survey with the explanation from salesman from various model, we decided to go for Hyundai i10 1.25. The consumption is around 18 to 22 km per litter according to the salesman and it is stated in the technical brochures 5.3/100km combine fuel consumption. Due to that, we bought the car. It was delivered to us on 21st of November 2011.On the first day of delivery when I drove the car home on the highway, the car suddenly stopped. Luckily, there was no car behind me. I started the car again and drove it and it has no power. Due to it is near by my house about 4 km, I decided to drive slowly back home and call for Hyundai technical people to take back the car. About half a day, the Hyundai tow car came and picked the car for repair. After about two days, the car was delivered back to me. I drove the car and it looked okay. The next day, I gave it to my wife to use it. About two weeks, my wife drove the car. She relished that the fuel consumption was very high. I took the car and make an official complaint to Hyundai. They check my vehicles and told me that it is not a problem. They also tell me that to send for the first service at 1,000 km.On 7th December 2011, I sent my car to Hyundai for the first service. I also complain about fuel consumption. After the service, I start recording the fuel consumption. From my reading and record, the fuel consumption at average is about 11.5km per litter. On 8 Jan 2012, I make another official complaint and Hyundai do a testing again and they said there is no problem. The technical guy said the fuel consumption is about 14km per litter. It is contradictory with the salesman and technical brochures as mentioned earlier. In this case, we feel that we being cheated by the Hyundai when the technical guy said it is about 14km per litter. The worst is the real consumption according to speedometer and my record, it is on average of 11.5km per litter.I made another official complaint on 30th of January 2012 during my second service. They made another try and said that it is okay about 14km per liter. I told them that I cannot get that mileage. They cannot explain to me further. I made another official complaint on 4th March 2012 and left the car for two weeks until 22nd March 2012 for them to check and give me the result. Unfortunately, when I received the car on 22nd March 2012, they did not make an attempt to check it until the last day they delivered to me, still cannot tell me the problem. I feel that Hyundai has cheated me.On 26th of March, I made another official complaint about it but until today, they did not contact me. For information, I have given the record and data of refueling and mileage reading to them. I do not know if they are interested to rectify the problem or they could not care less about it.

I purchased my Hyundai Tucson when I lived in MA. I moved to NH a few months ago and now need to register my car there. I went to the DMV, filed the necessary paperwork, and the state sent this request in, as that is their process. This was in mid February. I received a phone call on March 14th from a representative from Hyundai that they needed me to call them back to confirm my new address. I called them back that evening. I gave them my account number and my new address. I was told that was all they needed and they could now start the process. I contacted the state of NH on March 21st to see if they received the title yet, and they said they had not, and they suggested that I call Hyundai to get an update.I called them that same day and I was told that the note in the system said they were waiting for me to call them back, which made no sense because I had done just that a week ago. I was also told that they could not give me any updates because thats what the note in the system says and if I call and speak to someone else, they will tell me the same thing. I waited two days and called back for an update. I got the same response and this time, I was told that the state of MA was holding things up because the title is an electronic title.Well, I had my insurance agent then contact the state of MA once I received that update and the state told her that Hyundai never sent in the request. So, of course, at this point I am livid. I called Hyundai back again and I was once again told about the note in the computer, even though at this point I had called 3 or 4 times. This new person that I spoke to now tells me that what is causing the issue is that the state of NH sent in the paperwork that I signed, instead of me sending it in. What?!It has now been 6 weeks and I am told that it could be another four weeks due to the process at Hyundai. I am outraged at this. The process should have been kicked off on March 14th when I called back with the information they were requesting. I dont understand how here it is April 3rd and they still havent even sent in the request to MA for the electronic title? Its really a simple matter. NH just needs the title so they can turn it into a NH title because that’s where I live now. I moved with my fiancé. He filed his paperwork the same day as me, the state sent it to his lien holder same day, and he was l set as of March 21st. His lien holder didnt give him any problems. They just processed the request as they should have.As soon as this is resolved, I am refinancing my loan with my fiancé’s lien holder. I am very unhappy with Hyundai Motor Finance and I would never recommend them to anyone. They have lost my business for sure.

We purchased a new 2011 Hyundai Sonata in 2012 from the dealership. We actually purchased it for our college students, however, my husband and I liked it so much that, we gave them one of our other cars to drive instead, and kept the Sonata for ourselves. We have told many people how much we liked the value of the Sonata, in price, appearance, reliability and gas consumption. Because we liked it so much, we decided on another Hyundai, and bought a beautiful 2014 black Hyundai Genesis. We have honestly been considering an additional purchase of another Hyundai Sonata for our youngest son. However, our glowing opinion has been cut short. At 98,000 miles, the Sonata began making funny knocking sounds. We took it into our trusted mechanic, and he tested everything, including codes and found nothing. Nor did the knocking continue while he was testing. So I could not recreate the issue. We went on our merry way, oblivious to the impending disaster. At 106,000 miles, the Sonata began stalling out, with the knocking sound returning. I brought it to my husbands attention and by the next morning, when we went to take it to the mechanic, the car would not make it. The engine kept stalling. We took it to the mechanic and he did his diagnostics and announced the engine was shot and he could either replace or we could have it towed to Hyundai dealership to see what they could do with it, possibly offer some assistance. We had it towed to the dealership, and they announced that they would have to submit a request to Hyundai dealership - to see what could be done about a new engine. At first, the dealership said the manufacturer would do nothing to help. We went back and forth, in the hopes that they would re-consider (knowing that we were loyal Hyundai customers). Hyundai responded that if the dealership installed a used-30K mile engine, then they would not offer any discounts or warranties and that would cost us $7500. However, if they were to install a rebuilt from scratch engine, then they would install for $4500. We are heartbroken. Our Hyundai is due to be paid off in November, and now we are faced with a $4500 out of pocket expense and still waiting to hear if there is a warranty for the repair. My husband is meticulous with his cars. We have four cars - A Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, a Hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Genesis. We had hoped to add a 5th - (another Sonata for our son), but that will not be happening now. Its dishonest to not reveal this catastrophic failure on the part of Hyundai engineering. And we actually selected the Genesis over the Infiniti and Audi - comparable models. I understand there are two class action lawsuits re: the seizing of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and other new models. If a contemporary car cannot beat the 100,000 mile test, then you should spend your money on another company, like Toyota, that will go the distance. Both our Armada and Toyotas have over 150,000 miles and still going strong and running beautifully. Good luck to anyone considering a Hyundai purchase, Im sorry to report...

My 2016 sonata is a month old. The adaptive cruise system has failed and initiated an emergency stop while driving. The driver door is misaligned and allows road noise into the cabin and water into the sealed part of the door. The drivers side windshield wiper is misaligned and fumbles across the windshield making all sorts of noise. When I went to Hyundai of Serramonte the service clerk directed me first to a body shop. Then to the Hyundai where I purchased the car since it was a different dealer. Then told me the problem was normal and pointed to a far off car and said something like all doors are like that. We then walked over to the other car so I could show him the weather stripping on the other car does not create a gap like is on my car. He then said I can make an appointment if I want and walked off.

Starter of my 2011 Hyundai Sonata went out on August 1, 2012. I work in Oakland so I managed to get it back to Fresno. I took it to Lithia Hyundai Service department. Heath ** was the assigned service advisor. He said they will take a look and get back to me. Well, Lithia replaced the starter and said there was a recall on something regarding the starter. I picked up my car on August 3rd. While driving on August 6th, without warning, smoke started coming from hood area and shortly after a flame. I managed to pull off road to a parking lot where the car died. I immediately called AAA to tow to Lithia. While waiting, I took pictures. Service department was closed so I left in lot until morning. I returned to tell what happened. Heath said they would take a look. He called 20-30 minutes later to tell me engine has hole.Mind you, in returning my car the first time from the starter repair, I was told and given paperwork stating everything else was good. He recommended two tires, an air filter, and front brakes. He assured me everything else was okay. Now one month later, I called to find out whats going on with my car. Heath told me he wants to repair because he can make $7,000. I needed to bring him a receipt of my oil change. I have done that and my car is still sitting in service department at Lithia Hyundai. I called every week but get he hasnt heard from Hyundai yet. I asked him to call me when he does, the pictures hes sending and he didnt comply. He told me it would be done by the afternoon. I went to Lithia and my car was still sitting outside in back of shop. I went back on Saturday and it was on a lift.Heath was not in and no one else could answer my questions. I was told everybody handles their own cases. I returned that Monday and Heath told me he sent pictures and docs. I asked for copy. He refused. He just gave me pictures. I dont know whose car that was from. I have since called every week. He said he has no answer yet. I have been away from work since August 2nd. On August 24th, I lost my job of 18 years. I am not a happy camper. My car is new and has little mileage and it should not have caught fire.

We were prepared to pay cash for the car on 12/31/11, but we were told that we would get $500 more off the car if we financed and then we could pay it off. So before we received the coupon book, we sent in an estimated amount for the purchase price plus estimated interest. The next month we received a bill for $11.23 for the difference of additional finance charges which we paid. For the past week, the autodial collection people have called us at least 15 times (over 5 times on 3/26), looking for the monthly payment of $839. Finally, my husband was on hold for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor who said our account was paid in full. We have continued to get calls since then for the same thing. On 3/37, we got 2 more calls. I am not that happy with the car to begin with. The gas mileage is way under what was represented. After the experience with the finance people, I will never buy another Hyundai. Also, the phone representatives were rude and the auto-dialer put us on hold several times after we answered the phone. What kind of customer service is that?

I recently purchased a 2012 certified Equus. Love the car but a couple of issues. I also purchased the extended 10 year - 100,000 mile warranty. The front grill when hit by stones or something, the fake chrome starts to crack and bubble. I replace the top piece, Hyundai says its not covered. Now I have the same problem on another piece. Top of the line car - this should not be happening. Also there is a smell coming from the heating/ac system, sometimes worse than others. I have replaced all filters, ozoned the car over night, air fresheners. Nothing works and no answers from Hyundai.

MY 2013 Hyundai was purchased brand new 7/23/13. 10/22/13 the driver side wheel well cover splash shield broke while I was on a major highway. I took the car to the dealer the same day and was told the warranty did not cover this part. I was told it had to be replaced as it kept dirt and road dust off the engine. The dealer made it sound like this was a major part and HAD to be replaced. The cost was $162.10. 5/2/15, the same thing occurred and I did not hit anything. I feel should be covered under the warranty. In addition I do not think this is a critical part that has to be replaced to protect the engine. The part is 86811-3Q500 Guard Assy - Fr Wheel LH.

I currently own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata but decided to get a new car 2 years
I currently own a 2005 Hyundai Sonata but decided to get a new car 2 years ago. Not knowing what I really wanted, I decided to lease a new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT. Prior to the end of the lease in January 2019, I received a letter from the dealership stating that they will cover termination fees, excess wear and tear, disposition fees and over mileage fees. I leased a new 2018 Hyundai Kona in August of 2018. To my surprise, I recently received a bill from Hyundai Motor Finance Company for over $1,300. I have made countless phone calls to both the dealership and finance company to no avail. The dealer says they have done everything they can and do not understand the charges, the finance company says that they are just going by my contract and here I am stuck in the middle with a bill. I ended up paying the balance for loss of sale, a term I heard only after turning in the car. The Hyundai Motor Finance Company has even charged me $65.00 a hubcap for curb rash; $260 just for hubcaps! When speaking with one of their representatives, she explained that they want the car back in the same condition I got it in; In other words, they do not accept normal wear and tear. They are a third party just like any other bank and really dont have anything to do with what dealerships tells me. Unless you are willing to read all the fine print in your contract at the dealership, which is kind of hard because all they really want is to have you walk away with a car, take the contract home and read it before you sign for after it has your signature, you are legally bound to its terms. Dont expect the dealership to explain to you important terms like loss of sale; the difference you are responsible for if the car is not sold at auction for a price that covers the remainder of the lease balance. Call the Lease End department before you turn in the car and arrange for a pre-inspection so you can fix everything at a fraction of the cost. I could have replaced all four hubcaps for less than $100. I now purchased the excess wear and tear insurance for the new vehicle; lets see how that goes?

Weve leased two new Hyundais in a row and 7 new Hondas leased prior to the Hyundais, with no issues. Going back to Honda or Toyota. The most recent Hyundai was a 2016 Tucson limited, the AC never worked properly from day one. Shortly after the AC came on cool air would cease. This issue is documented on the Cas Complaints website. We had 3 miserable summers in the Deep South with this lemon Tucson. Three different dealers noted the problem. One kept the car 3 days and agreed that the car had a serious AC problem, but all said unless the diagnostic computer gave an error code there is no warranty. The first Hyundai was 2016 Santa Fe, which had a well documented steering issue when highway driving. Again no Hyundai warranty help. Guess we were suckers for leasing the second Hyundai, but the warranty is utterly worthless. If you have a problem, youre screwed!

I purchased two years ago a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited certified used from a local Hyundai dealership in Waterloo iowa. At the time had done it to replaced another Sonata that had electrical issues. Last September I was made aware via the Internet that my car had a major recall with the motor. At the time, I thought about trading the car in, but no dealership would touch the car because had a knocking noise which lower value of the car. So fast forward today, I eventually had the engine replace. When I picked up my car the dealership they not only replaced the engine but done the recalled for the brake stopper pad. Soon after my current nightmare started. The motor sound like it was whistling sound every time I drove it. At first I thought it was because it was braking in so I didnt let it worry me. Then a few months later it stop this when the knocking sound came back. Also car didnt want to shift right and one time it would not start at all. Last straw was the check engine light came on and stay on. I had taken the car into a local repair shop who put it on the computer. This is when he informed me that three of the four valves were gone. That should not happen if a complete engine was replaced. So I contact Hyundai to informed them that my engine was gone again and they need to buy back this piece of junk. They took their sweet you known what time to respond to my request or even find another solution to my problem. They cant be trusted. I should mention, on September 27 about 400 pm CST I almost in serious car accident with this piece of junk. As I pulled into the parking lot of daughters dance studio, I had applied my brakes. Was putting the car into park, when the car suddenly speed up and jump the curb coming within inches hitting the building. I was completely in shock when it happen. So, asked if she seen me put my foot brake on the brake. She told me yes.So right away I called Hyundai about this event and got told have my car tow to a local Hyundai dealership which would had been the one who had done the original recall work. I done it as told and when I did not hear back from Hyundai or the dealership where the car was tow to, I got a big song and dance from them that it went to some regional Manager I should hear back soon. As of yesterday did not hear back from them, so I had my car tow outed the dealerships parking lot and sent to another reliable automotive repair shop to have the car inspect for engine damage and the brakes fix.I was lucky I had not been killed driving this piece of junk. I am now 10,000 dollars under water with this car, and cant even drive it. My advice to all who are thinking about buying a certified used Hyundai Sonatas or any other hyundai product that matter is dont. You will get burn and hurt. Take it from me. They make a beautiful product for great value, but being cheap is the being not worth at the end.

I leased a Genesis 20 months ago. It took four months to get the lease payment correct even with dealer involvement. Then 20 months later, I get a notification that my payment is late (of which it was not and verified in my bank account) and that I owe $100 more than the payment I made on time? When I call Hyundai Finance, they tell me that is was because in June (its now Dec) my sales tax went up. They never said a word or sent anything to us in mail, email, call... nothing. We have been making the original payment all along without a problem. Six month later you send me a past due amount, tell me my tax went up over 5% six month ago and that I have been making the wrong payment? How is this possible. Finally, I ask to tell me the specifics of what tax and they have no idea and have the city I live in wrong - even though its the same as when I purchased the car? They tell me they dont have to notify me and maybe I will get a call back in three business days from a tax person if not call back.

Since I entered my review, I filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and with corporate Hyundai. As I had mentioned, I had already discussed this at my dealership Bronco Motors. The NHTSA called me and took more information from me, but otherwise, I didnt see any action. Natasha from Hyundai corporate and I played phone tag, but she never actually spoke to me. In spite of my leaving many messages, I got a letter from her essentially saying that because I hadnt contacted them, they werent going to do much. However, the service manager (Brandon) at Bronco Motors took a very active interest in my situation and followed up. This last week, he notified me that a new software patch had been released. He helped me set up an appointment for the update, and today I took it in and had the patch applied. Now, I need to see how this turns out over different driving scenarios, but my drive back and forth to work following the patch was spectacularly better. For the first time since I got the Tucson, the transmission functions like I would expect! Just yesterday, when it was very hot, the transmission acted up horribly. Today, even though it was still hot, the transmission performed perfectly. Like I said, Ill be a little skeptical until I see how it performs in a variety of situations, but for the first time, it didnt leave me feeling like it might let me down in the middle of an intersection! If your dealer hasnt reached out to you, give them a call and see if this newly released patch is for you.

This car was sold to me as a higher end model, so my expectations coincided with that. About a month into ownership, the car started emitting this terrible smell every time I accelerated onto the interstate. As winter progressed, the smell stopped. When the heat returned, it came back. It seems to stop after a while then return after oil changes. Ive had the vehicle a little over 2 years now, and the compressor already died. I dont even run the A/C over the 3rd bar even on the hottest days! Gas mileage already seems to be waning. I was doing 40mpg (primarily interstate driving) on regular unleaded with 10% ethanol. Now its doing 35 or so. I really like the push button start and car door lock/unlock.However, Ive been having trouble getting the car to lock over the past couple of months. Ill press the button as usual and nothing happens. Its sporadic, cant find a pattern by temperature, weather, or amount driven. On a different note, the volume doesnt automatically adjust to engine speed, so Im constantly adjusting the volume. I would much rather pay attention to driving! On a positive note, the car is comfortable and rides well. The heat and A/C work quickly (when they function). Two settings on the heated seats is really nice.

Just needed to let you know if ever you decide to buy a car, I suggest you
Just needed to let you know if ever you decide to buy a car, I suggest you buy it from Hyundai. Let me tell you why from my own experience - I bought an Elantra GLS 2013, from Hyundai Gatineau. Now wait, just wait till I tell you why you should not. After I bought my car. First of all, I get a letter saying that every year to go to where I bought my car and they will reimburse a credit card to pay the difference in gas because something about the consuming of gas is not ok, that the car should not drink so much gas. Then one yr later, getting ready to go to the States with 3 other persons and fill up my car with gas, so here I am all ready to go. Guess what, my car does not start, the radio works, the lights works, the battery is not dead so my son says, Mom, I have no idea what the hell is happening here.So I call CAA. He comes and says, Sorry, Miss, but need to take your car to the dealership garage. I tell him, But it is closed, so he tells me, I guess you will have to wait till Monday. So trip to the State, motel, friends waiting, everything down the drain. So Monday comes, me being really pissed off, I call and tell them that I am very upset with what happened and the answer was, Well, Miss we will call you and let you know what is wrong and this could happen at any dealership - no excuse. So they call me later and said, Your car is ready. You can come and pick it up, and I said, Well, I dont have a ride. He says, Well, cant you get someone to drive you? I replied, Hey, this is your responsibility. You get someone to take care of it. So he got someone to pick me up. Still pissed off, tell the guy this is the first time that I buy a brand new car and have so much issues with a car. He just looked at me like I was just a number, so I leave, get in my car and see my gas gauge. It was half full of gas, so I get out of my car and now really, really pissed off and go back inside to tell them about it and again Well, Maam, we did not drive your car. So I go and see the Manager. He brings me to see the Manager of the repair shop and looked at me like I was lying. Holy ** was I mad, so I said, I want to file a complaint, so they give me the number of Hyundai Canada. I call and tell them about what happened and yes by now, I am burning up OK. The lady at Hyundai Canada says she is sorry about what happened but We can offer you a gift for your inconvenience. I said of course yes, thinking this might be rewarding. Holy crap, I thought I was going to hit the roof. You just cannot believe what they offered me. This is truly what they offered me, a choice between a mug, a tuque, or a water bottle. I said to myself, Are you really that stupid to offer me such a gift after what I went through? I just said, Really, you can keep your gift, and hung up. True story, believe me. This is what I think about Hyundai Gatineau, Hyundai Canada, (NOTHING GOOD). Oh yea forgot to tell you what the problem was. It was a default in the wiring from the motor to the starter. I am 59 yrs old and have bought cars before and never and I mean never had issues like this. I have seen the complaints in the reviews and could not believe how many there was and nothing is being done about this. A guy needs a lawyer to deal with his problem. This is ridiculous. Why should this guy pay for a lawyer when there are so many complaints about Hyundai? What do we need to do for something to be done? You should allow us to return the car and get our money back so we can go to another dealer to buy another car. LOOK at the reviews about Hyundai and do something about it. Now I dont feel safe in my brand New car which does not make any sense at all. YES, I AM REALLY, REALLY PISSED OFF.

This goes for the shocks that wont lift the hatch back up, and the AC that makes a loud clunk sound EVERY time I turn off the car. I bought this Hyundai Elantra new from the dealer on 2014. It doesnt even have 47000 miles and the passenger door handle paint, which is rarely used, is already peeled off and according to the dealer the body paint is already out of warranty (yeah! And they claim to have the best warranty). I just looked over the Internet and it was a court dismisses peeling paint class action against Hyundai on 2017, I dont know the reason this was dismissed but evidently they continue doing this sloppy body paint in all their cars, this and many others complaints from the customers with zero acceptability from Hyundai have convinced me that this is a company I cannot trust so this is gonna be my last Hyundai car.

I was driving to work when my 2014 Elantra with 72,000 miles made a knocking sound and stalled in middle of the road. I had to have it towed to a local station whom assessed and informed me the engine failed and based on how clean the engine appeared he couldnt imagine what happened to this engine. I then had car towed to Hyundai due to I have a contract for 100,000 miles on engine. After they evaluated the vehicle, they DENIED me and refused to cover the engine repair under their PROMOTED, ADVERTISED AND PROMISED 100,000 mile warranty. So after 4 years of paying on this car, I am STILL making monthly payments for this car. Hyundai refused to stand by their commitment to repair the engine!!!

Little things starting to break, a little rust starting, poor mpg. Vehicle was bought for wife who hardly drives, so mpg really not critical. Has twice yearly full synthetic oil and filter changes, transmission service and filter at 3 year intervals, antifreeze flush and change at 3 years as well. Our dealer was Lehman Hyundai in N. Dade County (So. FL). Experience was quite pleasant - no finance involved. Test drove, put a deposit down, faxed copy of sale order to bank and they transferred funds to dealer. The young lady who sold the car actually delivered it to our driveway, brought my wife out and explained everything in the car to her. Great customer service from dealer sales dept. Not the same for Service Dept - enough for me to be very displeased (at that time I was an ASE Master Certified Technician in not only automotive, but Medium-Heavy Duty Trucks as well). From date on no one has touched her auto but my Happy Wife, Happy Life. I did not purchase any additional warranty, having had experience with one 10 years prior. Almost all car salespersons and sales managers excel at lying and getting to sign on dotted line. Do your homework on vehicle being considered, obtain confirmation of financing (if needed) prior to driving on lot and NEVER accept a 1 day only deal from anyone. I would run out of that dealership, that is just an intimidation tactic. In my case she told me how much they wanted (Full Sticker Price) and I told her what I would pay. She talked to Sales Manager - I would not; didnt like his looks. No way was she told and brought me back that message. I thanked her for her time and walked back to my truck, unlocked and started it. There was a knock on my window, Yes they would accept my offer! The only advice I can give about their Service Departments is to not do business with any that do not have a full staff of ASE certifications in the area they are working in. Record all conversations on your smart phones and maintain very good records. Last but not least, if all of your ducks are in a straight row, take them to court for damages and ask for your legal costs to be reimbursed as well. For what a good lawyer will cost them, it is sometimes cheaper to do the right thing. Never threaten them with court, do it! This Hyundai was not a bad car by any means, but my ex daughter in laws Honda Civic has over 175,000 miles and still going strong. That $2,000.00 extra for the Honda would have been a good buy in hindsight.

I bought a brand-new Hyundai Tucson 2014 with 83 miles. After 4 months and a torrential rain all my books in the left-rear passenger side floorboard, were soaked. I went to the Decatur Alabama dealership and they cleaned the water out. Long story short the Hyundai dealership has (1) replaced seals around the door, (2) sealed the roof railings, (3) resealed the roof railings. (4) the Hyundai Motor Corporation called in LEAK PRO guaranteed 1 yr not to leak. 11 months later after torrential rains, the back floorboard left passenger side was full of water. I have sent a certified Alabama Lemon Law letter and called BBB Auto Line asking for replacement. I know one person with the same issue with the same results. Anyone else out there? May go to arbitration. I am waiting on Hyundai to call me.

Got lied to and now cant get compensation through corporate. They actually expect me to keep driving the car and bringing it back and forth to a dealership. No, I am not a Karen, however I have dumped over 40 quarts of oil into it, spent over a year at various dealerships and even had to hire my own mechanic to tell me there really was a HUGE issue and I was being played. Now, I am down to pretty much not having a vehicle and BEGGING Hyundai to just take their car back and set me free of this in a fair deal that does not leave me broke and with nothing to drive.

The car is very durable but it makes noises on transmission changes especially when the eco boost is on. The dealership I went to was great. The salesperson was very knowledgeable on the car and the process was easy. The car was everything I was looking for with a little bit of an upgrade. Some things werent clear like how to update the nav system. The touch screen is not very responsive depending on if you are the driver or the passenger. The eco really does save on gas but it makes the change even slower when speeding up or slowing down.

Three weeks ago, I went to the Hyundai dealership in Huntington, NY 11743 (Long Island). I was interested in leasing a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. My salesmen Bob ** had asked me which model I was looking at and I told him the 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Mr. ** brought around a grey and what he said was the GLS. I test drove it and was pleased as to how smooth and quiet it drove, so I then decided to lease one and decided on black with grey interior. I arrived at the dealership and picked up my car. I drove it home and noticed that it was driving not at all as the demo. It was loud and there is a clicking sound coming from under the hood. That same day I called my salesman up, told him and brought it right to him. He claims that he didnt hear anything unusual and what I was experiencing was normal. I asked him why I didnt experience this with the demo and he didnt have an answer for me. Then they scheduled an appointment for me to bring it into service to look at it. It was there all day and they claim nothing was wrong. To make sure I wasnt losing my mind, I test drove another GLS in their lot and that was better than mine. The salesman said it drives the same as mine. I then went to their Hicksville dealership, test drove a GLS and that drove quiet and had no ticking sounds. I went back to Huntington and the sales manager Steve ** listened to the vehicle and claims that he didnt hear anything wrong. I drove the car and the sales manager was in the passenger seat. He refused to drive it and said nothing was wrong and he cant do anything for me even after I told him that I test drove other GLS and they were fine, unlike my car. The sales manager also refused to actually drive my car and see. He said, I am too busy. I am not test driving your car. I then went to the West Islip dealership and explained to them whats going on. A salesman there came out and listened to my car and he heard the ticking sound. He said that is not normal. Even in front of his manager he said he heard the ticking sound. I am so beyond frustrated. Getting a new car is supposed to be enjoyable and all I want to do is cry. Its now three weeks that I have the car. Something is definitely not right. Please help me.

We bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. I only get 34 MPG on the HWY. The mileage reimbursement is nothing short of insulting. I was blatantly lied to by my salesman when I purchased my car. I was very much bothered that the hybrid does not have a spare tire, so much that I considered walking away! But my salesman said, If you get a flat, we will bring you a tire and YOU GET FREE TIRES FOR FIVE YEARS. I replied, Is there a mileage limit on getting the new tires? Salesman: No mileage restrictions, free tires for five years. ABSOLUTE LIE!! I called the service department recently and the woman practically laughed at me! And last, I called the previous Mercedes Benz dealership that I bought a car from in 2002 (WHERE TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIVES). Turns out the 100,000/10-yr warranty that we paid $1,995 for, cant be transferred which dramatically reduces the resale value!! Not only did the company lie about the MPG but the dealership lied as well!! I will never buy another one!

Brought my 2015 Santa Fe in the middle of March 2021 after my mechanic reported engine issues. Dealership refused me at the door, after waiting an hour, and said there was no sound. 7months later, problem obviously worsens, and this time - wow, they found the same problem I reported 7 months prior. Did I mention my 6 year old vehicle only had 55,000 miles at the time I first reported this? What kind of quality engine starts fading at 55,000 miles - especially when the vehicle is primarily used to shuttle children to and from activities. Since it was bought used and past the warranty mileage of used cars (which why should the 100,000 mile warranty vary based on a car being used or new - perhaps because they know they can screw more people with said advertising?), Hyundai would only offer us 65% which might be okay if Hyundai engines weren’t 25,000$ (Are they using gold or some other precious gems in there?).What I’m also struggling with is the fact that smaller model Hyundai engines are being recalled left and right and totally covered. Well my semi larger sibling to these recalled vehicles is also experiencing this engine issue, so I beg you to consider this is an issue outside the smaller suv. The story doesn’t end there - so stay with me…Just over 2 months later (and a few days after completing a rating they sent me - ironic?), I hear back from the manager. They want to help me out - can you believe that!! I thought 2022 was going to be my year (despite Covid still going on and both my children having a stomach bug at the time of the call). There was one catch. Corporate would be more likely to work with me, IF I was willing to rescore them “as an act of good faith.” Well what fool would rescore them without a new offer proposed? You guessed it - this fool. In my defense, I wanted to know the percentage before rescoring, but of course that wasn’t possible since the higher ups had to make that offer. I figured - what do I have to lose?A month of me calling almost daily to find out what rescoring did for my problem resulted in nothing. Nada. Not a fraction of a difference because I don’t get my car serviced there and some other **. Which is ironic since their mechanics were the ones who didn’t notice the problem after my mechanic sent me there (now more than 10 months ago). Any respect for Hyundai (do you really find it acceptable for your engines to die at 55,000 miles?), any hope that they cared about their customer safety (I mean who would want their family driving in a vehicle that could leave them stranded after 55,000 miles), are lost. I am deeply disappointed with how much time I have wasted trying to work with a company that in my option is a scam. I’ve requested another rescore - think it’ll come as quick as it did the last time??

Then they had to replace the fuel pump module. Now the car vibrates when sitting still. The seats and the steering wheel constantly shaking. Napleton says it is because the engine is running and thats just the way the car is. Either Hyundai Genesis is a very bad car or Napleton Hyundai is totally incompetent, or possibly both. I would stay away from both! On top of that, I cant get rid of the car because they say the current value is less than the end of lease value which is still over a year away. I am not going to give my full name via an email message due to security reasons. I will note, however, that when I sent messages to finance online, both my name and my account number where showing as if attached to the email and I repeatedly received what appeared to be canned responses asking me to give my full name, via my email. I find this unsettling - as if finance is deliberately delaying or avoiding addressing issues and/or questions from its customers that take their time to write them. I further question the point of sending finance emails... It is neither helpful or gives me any confidence that my needs are being addressed expeditiously or that I am cared for as a customer that pays on time and cares about ones credit.Last month, I not only wrote finance multiple times, but I also went to the dealership and spoke to the finance department. The department kindly explained to me what their limitations are with regards to what my concerns were at that time (Hyundai received three payments in January via Wells Fargo and I wanted my account reimbursed for the overpayment) and I ended up having to sit in someones office, just to call finance outside of the state to try to resolve the issue. Given Wells Fargos recent debacle, I dont know who is at fault but I made every effort to make sure that finance received its correct payment up to and including an attempt to pay in - person and in cash. All that I asked yesterday (literally two weeks after supposedly getting the initial problem resolved) is that finance justifies a $47.67 request for payment this month included with my monthly car payment (which also increased) so that I can determine what to do. Finance wrote me back. They obviously have my email information. They referred to me by my first name and know my account number. My account information was attached to my email. I do not understand why I am having such a difficult time paying finance my correct auto payment since the new year. I had a Hyundai for over 10 years prior to the one I lease now and it was paid off before I got rear-ended and ended up having to lease another one.I never had any issues at all period with my payments or with the previous (paid off) vehicle and now, all of a sudden, after the new year I find myself with a car that I have to keep bringing in for the same repair and issues with making a simple car payment. I am frustrated and think it is ridiculous that I have to jump through so many hoops just to make a simple, correct auto payment. I also find it insulting. I do not understand what the problem actually is - Is it the online system? Is it that finance does not permit the dealership where customers purchase their vehicle to discuss or have access to information once the vehicle drives off the lot? Is it Wells Fargo? I dont know. But I do know that when I triple paid in January and then walked in to finance to pay in cash, I could not do it.And, after repeated efforts to resolve the whole debacle, finance has the audacity to ask me to pay more and has not justified why. This is not the way to handle a long time customer that pays on time. This is the first time I have ever leased a vehicle and this experience is ruining my enjoyment of being a Hyundai car driver and owner. Why would I want to give my full name in an email? Any person with an ounce of common sense would not do that in a Gmail.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Hyundai Tucson on Nov 29 2018. Right now it only has 14300 kms on it. I was driving down a divided highway 6 in the morning with no one else on it besides myself and my child in the vehicle when my rear window exploded into my car sending glass all over my 2 yr old in his car seat. I was right in front of the Police station when it happened and no one was around... Hyundai says that it came from a impact but since I was the only one on the road there was no way that I could have got hit in the rear window. I took pics and brought the car to the dealership and gave them it to them... THEY NEVER even inspected my vehicle, they just emailed the pics to head office where they said it was from a impact. HOW DO YOU TELL THAT IT WAS FROM A IMPACT WHEN YOU NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR TO SEE. I have called places that repairs windows like speedy glass and they even said that it could be from a short in the defrost in the rear window that caused it to explode. Since this happened I have had no satisfaction with this broken rear windshield... Myself and my child were very startled and no one from Hyundai has even done anything but send a email off. I am so very disgusted in the complete lack of everything. This has to be the worst service I have ever had... They never even offered to look over the car, never offered a loaner to get around in and never even offered to make sure the rear window was sealed up so the snow and rain would not get in.Right now I would never buy a car from Hyundai again. My child is scared to even go near this little toy cars because of the fright. I am even afraid of putting him back into the car because if it is a short in the electrical that caused the window to explode, will cause it to happen again... I hope that this message tells the truth behind the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. All I want is my rear windshield replaced at no cost to me... And I want people to actually look over the problem before they say what caused it. YOU CANT SAY WHAT HAPPENED THROUGH A PIC AND NOT LOOK AT THE PROBLEM ITSELF... I can keep going on about this but I think I made my point. I hope that something gets done with this message.

I was hit by a drunk driver doing 95 MPH, then I smashed into the concrete wall and not one airbag went off. This vehicle has front and side curtains, something should have gone off for sure! I was thrown all over the place, and Im very lucky for sure! Airbags did not deploy when numerous ones should have!

I would like to highlight that I have a very bad experience with the quality of tyres Verna is using. Verna was one the cars I always wanted and finally one year back I bought it. However, I did not know that it uses some bad quality tyres. I was travelling from Indore to Pune on 2nd June 2019, when the tyre (Front Left side) of my car (Hyundai verna SX (O)) got burst and I had near escape from death. My spouse got hurt on her head and eyes. I was driving at a speed of maximum 50kmph, as it was a single road, between Rajgurunagar and Chakan. The Front Tyre (left side) suddenly got burst. On contacting the service management of Hyundai and Hankok (tyre manufacturer/dealer), they said it is a cut on the side wall and its not a fault of tyre and denied my request of replacing it. My point is such expensive and big cars who can run at around 140kmph, should have such bad quality tyres and risk life of the customers. OR, should they provide any better reliable and trusted brand. For instance, even I say, there was an impact on tyre, should the tyre easily gets burst. I have another car - Chevrolet Beat and used Bridgestone, MRF for last 10 years not. Have gone on potholes on highways on speed as fast as 100kmp, but never had this experience. This clearly shows the quality of tyres.

Hi, I bought a used 2005 Elantra with 28 thousand miles on it in 2008. About a year later (approx. 38K mileage), the airbag light came on when a passenger was in the front seat. The dealer said it was a recall item and gave me a rental while the seat was sent off to Ca for repairs. Within a year, the airbag light was coming on again intermittently when a passenger was sitting in the front seat (mid 40K mileage). The dealer said their was nothing they could do about it without seeing the light on. So every now & then when the light was on I was sidetracked to the dealership, but the light would go out before reaching them. Finally, last year the light stayed on long enough for the dealer to see it on. Thats when I was told the light did not need to be on to report the problem, but now the warranty had expired and I would have to pay for the repair! I reminded them about telling me the light had to be on and they played dumb like they never said it. Well, after a complaint to the manager they agreed to fix it for free as a goodwill gesture. Here we are about a year later (57K miles) and the airbag light stays on most of the time now.I called Hyundai USA to see what should be done as I have lost faith in the dealership. I am afraid they will simply unplug the airbag and I would never know! Hyundai USA in Ca. said I need to take it to the dealer and pay for a car inspection before they could look into the case. What can I do about this safety issue? Do I have a legitimate case for legal action against Hyundai USA or the dealership? PS: all I want is to know that the front passenger airbag will work in the event of an accident.

Although I love my car, I have to say without question, DO NOT BUY OR LEASE
Although I love my car, I have to say without question, DO NOT BUY OR LEASE HYUNDAI CARS. On November 26, 2016 I leased a 2017 Hyundai and turned in my 2014 Hyundai to the local Hyundai dealer. My lease payment went up about nine dollars a month. My bank inadvertently sent the new payment to the 2014 account instead of the new 2017 car account. I received a collection call on a Sunday saying I was two weeks passed due. I paid it again on the phone and started to check out why they did not receive it. When I called Hyundai Finance approximately six weeks after turning in the 2014 they said they had the extra money but were keeping it until the 2014 car closes out. MY BANK SENT THE MONEY IN ERROR. It is now nine weeks since I turned in the car and they still have my money. I will never buy a Hyundai product again even though it is a great car and I am now on my second Hyundai. I have checked with Mission Hills Hyundai, a terrific dealer, who is trying to get Hyundai to send me my refund. They keep apologizing however I still am out the money. The Hyundai Finance people are extremely hard to deal with. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI PRODUCT!

I am a soldier and have been in the army for over 20 years, been deployed to 3 tours. I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Azera Limited addition, with Satellite radio and GPS Navigation package, etc. I was looking between Toyota and Hyundai. I leaned Hyundai way because of the 100K warranty. I was thinking that is a great warranty until very recently when I actually needed the warranty. I did not maintain a book to track my oil changes, etc. I did an oil change in late Oct and purchased an aftermarket oil filter from AutoZone and Synthetic Oil. My wife was driving last week and she said the oil light came on briefly, then the Service engine light came on, then the car stopped running. The car has 88K miles on it and when I checked the oil and it was a little less than a quart low. The oil was not even dirty. I took it to the service dept of Hyundai in Lawton, Oklahoma and they are saying they will not honor the 100K warranty because I don’t have records. I tried to explain that I am a soldier and bought the car in El Paso while stationed at Fort Bliss, but it is a pretty sure bet that they are going to leave me high and dry on this. I have purchased 3 different Hyundais from them and this is the first time I needed to test the warranty. Looks like the 100k warranty sounds good on paper but if they dont honor it, I would have went somewhere else. I know I could go to the military Jag to attempt to get legal advice but Im sure Hyundai has much more money than I have so they could play the technicality cards all day and Im basically screwed. I can assure you I will never buy another Hyundai. I called the Cooperate office and am waiting for an answer back but Im really expecting to get the same answer as the local Service Dept. I really hope Hyundai will do the right thing. I have put my life on the line for this country and never expected to be treated like this from them.

My family purchased a brand new Hyundai Tucson 2017 in October of 2017. It had sudden engine failure. It has now been more than 30 days since the car is in the shop and no one helps or has said anything. Under the NJ Lemon Law this car is now a lemon. Hyundai Corporate is deplorable as well. They are essentially useless and less than professional. Buying this car was a horrible mistake. I would NEVER recommend Hyundai or this kind of aggravation to even my worse enemy. I am so disappointed. I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service.
