After purchasing my AWD Hyundai Tucson in October 2016, I have been notified that this specific model had a dual clutch transmission defect that results in delayed acceleration from stop. The recall did not solve the problem and all my complains regarding the transmission was denied by Hyundai dealers. Since that date any time I go to the dealer complaint about loud transmission vibration and sound and delay on acceleration etc. they simply reply sorry this is due to the discontinued DCT defect that is well known for this model as if I have to accept it and live with it. The real problem that I have discovered that Hyundai has known about this defect prior selling the car to me and still they sold it and I simply have to live with the defective transmission that will definitely crash in the very near future!!!

My daughter purchased a certified pre owned 2013 Sonata limited turbo. She took it to have regular maintenance, so she took good care of the car. On February 2017 she was driving down the road when she heard a noise from under the hood, so her friend told her to pull over so he could check it out, when he lifted up the hood there was a red glow. He immediately told her to get out of the car. Within an minute her car was engulfed in flames. The car burnt so bad, all that was left was the trunk of the car. Had he not told her to pull over my daughter and her friend would have died in that car.She notified Hyundai about this. For one because it was still under warranty and two her car burnt to the ground for no reason out of nowhere. They took about 2 months to get back to her and when they did they only offered her what they call fair market value, which was way lower than what she paid for the car. With what they offered she couldnt even touch the kind of car she had and is still making payments on. They were rude and the one guy hung up on me when I got upset with his attitude. We have called repeatedly trying to talk to someone in charge but to no avail. We have heard from a friend of hers that someone on Facebook has had their car go up in flames also. Hyundai does not stand by their product and they also have the worse customer relations that I have ever experienced. Never ever would I recommend buying a Hyundai car.

I was involved in a collision yesterday with my 2012 model iX35. My car was severely damaged on the left front and side bumper, the hood was mangled on the left side, and windscreen slightly cracked. The electronics box was damaged to the point where no electronics worked on the vehicle so I couldnt even close windows or start the car. In retrospect after contemplating the resultant damage, I have to say that I was most impressed with how much impact the front-left-end of the vehicle withstood and how this area was designed to take most of the impact of the collision without the driver (myself) being harmed in any way. Im a little stiff and still post-traumatized as this was my first accident - however - inside the vehicle everything was solid and in place. The airbags did not pop - which is a good sign as this shows that the vitals in the engine were not harmed due to the collision. Although I still have to receive the results of the assessment to the damage - I can only say I felt incredibly safe in the vehicle. Im still trying to fathom how little impact I felt in the vehicle - no whiplash or moving forward abruptly. Im most impressed.

I turn the air conditioning on for the first time in May 2019. The car had 1500 miles on it. And the air-conditioner did not work. I took it in for service and at first they told me something went through the front grill and put a hole in the air conditioning condenser. Since there was no evidence of anything flying through the front grill and there was no damage to my radiator the story changed and apparently it ricocheted and caused damage to the condenser.Hyundai deemed it a non-warranty issue. Now I’m going to be charged $800 to fix it. I even took it to a different repair shop to ask their opinion. Those guys said they had no idea how this damage could have been caused without any evidence of any damage to anything else. Hyundai claims to have the best warranty in the industry. In my experience it’s all BS! I think somebody dropped the condenser and installed it anyway so that they could meet their quota. I will never buy another Hyundai again!

GC 2013 3.8 Track (Love Car cant say the same for Company) - On Saturday, April 16th, 2016 I went to Balise Hyundai to have my vehicle serviced and to address my concerns about the paint peeling on the front bumper near the hood of the car. I showed the peeling paint to the service advisor Phil ** who took pictures of my front bumper and stated that he would pass them along to the person who handles warranty claims. Phil explained that I would need to come back to Balise Hyundai during the week to have my concerns addressed. It is important to note taking time off during the week was not feasible during that time due to the structure of my current role and the responsibilities it entails. On Wednesday May 11th, 2016 I brought my vehicle to Balise Hyundai and showed the bumper to Bob ** (Service Director) who immediately began to tell me that my warranty didnt cover the damage and that it appeared as if the bumper was painted over or that something had spilled on it and therefore was not Hyundais responsibility to cover. Bob proceeded to take pictures while he instructed his co-worker Stephanie to gather some info on my vehicle. After a few minutes of both Bob and Stephanie examining my vehicle, I asked Stephanie to update me on what was being discussed. She stated that I was not under warranty for paint as my car was three years old. I told her that while my car was a 2013, I did not begin my lease until September of 2013. She then asked me about the mileage which I told her was less than 36,000 miles. Another 5 to 10 minutes of conversation with Bob yielded a plethora of biased assumptions that I found to be quite concerning. Bob ** insinuated I caused the damage to my vehicle. I left Balise Hyundai and then called Hyundai Motor America to report my warranty claim and ask questions. At that point, the integrity of Bob ** was in question and I was concerned that Bob would intentionally fail to submit the warranty claim and tell me it was not covered or submit the claim filled with biased narrative and minimal facts. I spoke with a Genesis representative named Christina (case #**) and she explained to me that she would look into it and contact Balise Hyundai to follow-up. Christina said she would call me back that day to update me however I never received a call. Later that day I was set to travel out of the country for two weeks. On Thursday, May 26th, 2016 I contacted Hyundai Motor America to follow up regarding my warranty claim. I explained that I had not heard from Bob or Stephanie about next steps. On Friday, May 27th, 2016 I received a call from Stephanie who left a voicemail stating that Hyundai wanted me to take my vehicle to the Balise repair shop to get an estimate of the damage. Upon hearing the message left by Stephanie I called her back and was unable to speak to her directly. I left a detailed voicemail inquiring about the arrangement of a specific date/time to bring the car for an estimate. Stephanie never responded to my message. On Saturday, June 4th, 2016 I brought the vehicle to Balise to get the estimate and was told that the repair shop is only open during the week. I spoke with General Manager Brian ** who told me to email him pictures of the paint concerns and that he would get an estimate for me on Monday and send me the quote. (See attached photos) On Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 Brian emailed me stating that a rep is coming today and will see if he approves the work. Estimate is $1,300. On Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 I emailed Brian back and ask him if the rep would be calling me directly to let me know the decision concerning my car. Brian emailed me back informing me that it was decided that my hood would not be covered but that the decision to repaint the bumper hadnt been made yet. On Friday, June 10th, 2016 I emailed Brian to find out how long it would be to determine if my bumper was going to be covered under warranty. He replied back confirming it would be 7 to 10 business days. On Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 I emailed Brian seeking an update on the pending situation. I received no reply. On Wednesday, June 29th, 2016 I receive a voicemail from Bob ** stating that he wanted me to return his call because Consumer Affairs wanted a factory rep to look at my vehicle. He also stated the rep would be at Balise on Thursday (the very next day). I called Bob back to arrange the time for the factory rep to see my vehicle. I explained to Bob that I worked and that he was giving me very short notice. I asked if I could schedule something for Friday or the week after and Bob told me that the Factory rep only comes once a month and that if I didnt come tomorrow (Thursday) it would be next month before another meeting could be arranged. On Thursday, June 30th, 2016 I arrived at Balise at approximately 7:30 am which was the agreed time slot. This time was chosen as it was early enough for business to be handled and ensured Id make it to work on time. The factory rep showed up after 7:30 am and while I sat in the waiting area Bob failed to inform me that the factory rep arrived. At around 7:50 am I went to find Bob to inquire about the factory rep. That is when I was informed that Loi **, Eastern Region District Parts & Service Manager was already looking at my car. When I approached Loi he informed me that he was checking to see if there was any report of an accident concerning my car. After a few minutes, Loi approached me and told me that the bumper damage was going to be covered but not the chipped paint on the hood of the car. I was then instructed to go to the Balise repair shop and schedule a date to have my car brought in for repair. I followed those instructions and spoke with the Collision Repair Manager, Tim **. We agreed to have the bumper painted on July 11th, 2016 and he told me that it would take two days.On Monday, July 11th, 2016 I brought my car to Balise repair. To my surprise, I then had to rent a car from Enterprise because Balise Hyundai stated that they didnt have any loaners. They also informed me that even if they did have loaners, it would cost me. Over the course of two days, it cost me $60 to rent the car from Enterprise. On July 13th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick up my car but was told that it was not ready. I was then left to rent a vehicle for another day. For my inconvenience, Jim ** who works for Balise Collision Repair agreed to cover the rental cost for that day.On July 14th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick-up my car and was astonished by what I saw. I spoke with Balise Collision Repair Appraiser, Jesse ** about the fact that the color of the bumper that was painted did not match the color of the rest of the vehicle! During my conversation with Jesse, he informed me that prior to beginning the paint job he called over to Bob ** and asked about blending the paint into the hood and the fender to prevent the noticeable color difference. He was told by Bob to only paint the bumper. Jesse explained to me that the color difference was typical with the type of paint on my car and that during most repairs to assure that the color matches the other parts of the car they blend into the other areas. (See attached photos)I havent yet heard about whether or not I will be reimbursed or receive credit towards my monthly payment. When I followed-up with Hyundai Motor Finance about my situation was I essential told sorry for your troubles. You still must pay your monthly bill and if we dont receive payment we will repo your car. It will be auctioned and all accrued expenses will be your responsibility. Moral of this story: Dont buy Hyundai as their Customer Service is horrible and they dont care about loyal customers.

Hyundai Accent GLS is reliable and gets good gas mileage. Accelerates quickly and smoothly. Came with a 100k mile warranty. Smooth driving experience and right turning radius. Easy to maneuver. I like that it has bluetooth, CD player, ac, spacious for a car its size, power locks and windows and comfortable seating. But the bumper is very low and catches on parking spot barriers easily. Power lock should be on trunk too. Heated seats would be nice, as the Elantra has them.

We have 105633 miles on the 2006 Hyundai Tucson that failed (engine overheated) in the middle of highway when my family with two small children were traveling. No warning and it was an abrupt stop. Called 911 and emergency responders pushed the car to the side. We towed to a dealer who said head gasket is blown and only fix is to replace engine. To further diagnose, the dealer needs approval from Hyundai but, Hyundai says, they will not do further diagnosis because their warranty covers only up-to 5 year and the vehicle can fail after 5 years. They insist there has not been any manufacturer recalls but, I asked them how do they know if there is no recalls if they dont diagnose? Their response was even worse than the ordeal we have gone through. We were almost killed driving this vehicle. Never buy a Hyundai that can only last for 5 years and get killed.

Recently I was informed by my local Hyundai dealership that the battery on my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid needed replaced. Not the hybrid battery. I was told it was $312.00 for the battery through the dealership. I said thanks but Ill go elsewhere. After 3 weeks of looking and calling around Ive been informed that the battery can only be purchased from a dealer. I decided to call Hyundai customer service to find out why. There is no reason other than, Because thats the way it is and because we can. What?? Really??That is how the conversation went. I asked to speak to someone who could answer me why and was told that, Everyone else will give you the same answer, the way it is and because we can. What kind of crazy monopoly is this. Any other year Sonata battery can be purchased elsewhere. They are unwilling to explain why, they are unwilling to require the dealership to sell the part at a reasonable price, nothing. No help, no explanation, no concern or consideration. I have really liked owning my Hyundai until now. I recently paid it off and now its having issues creep up that require attention only at the dealership. Interesting, frustrating and suspicious. Might very well be the last Hyundai I ever own.

Hyundai is the most morally corrupt of all car manufacturers. In my experience, our 2002 Elantra had multiple catastrophic failures under warranty. This could have resulted to injury or death, since the failures occurred while the car was in traffic. The first three occurrences were due to defective fuel injection. After three attempts by a completely inept dealer (Antwerpen of Clarksville, MD), it was finally fixed. The most recent was the breaking off yet again in traffic of a highly corroded front control arm, leaving left front tire separated from the axle and the car out of control. There was a recall issued in 2009 (ID# 09v125000) for this very problem. Antwerpen claimed to have done the recall work on my car when I took it in to them for service in February 2010 but the failure occurred despite this. They tell me now that all they are obligated to do is to repair the vehicle. I feel this car will never be safe to drive and I have asked them to give me a fair financial offer for buying back this defective car at its present value. This has been rejected.

My car was taken into Delray Hyundai on February. My complaint was that my car, on two occasions, raced out of control while pulling away from a gas pump. It took a great effort to stop the car from having an accident. Hyundai service reported that nothing was wrong with the car. On August, while in a strip mall looking for a parking space, my car went out of control causing a five car accident. Hyundai refused to turn over my car to my insurance company for inspection. It has been two weeks and I am totally in the dark except that I was told that it now was being handled by the National office. It could take 10 weeks to be inspected. It does not take that long to build thousands of cars. There is no doubt that time is in their favor since I will soon have to rent a car at my cost. It is near impossible to contact the CEO, to expedite this matter.

I took my 2009 Santa Fe to our local dealer for a leak in the factory-installed sunroof. The first time, they supposedly made adjustments to tighten the window down. The second time, they said the seal was bad and they had to order a new sunroof window. My question was why they didnt find this the first time. The third, they replaced the window. Now, this one leaks worse than the original. This has happened all in the last 3 weeks. I have no faith in the dealer that is doing the work. But since it is still in factory warranty, I am stuck. From the hundreds of complaints I have read about Hyundai and their airbag lights, Im beginning to understand that you either live with this problem or you find another car. I pulled out my airbag fuse because Im tired of looking at the light and Im certain that this is a problem that neither I (mechanic for 8 years) or a mechanic at a Hyundai dealer could ever fix. My car is a 2003 Hyundai accent. I maintain this car very well and Im happy with the decent gas millage it gets, but safety is also a huge priority. Im not going to put my life on the line because Hyundai doesnt want to provide support for their customers. Let us know what the problem is so customers like myself could at least fix it.Obviously, this is a consistent and similar problem, otherwise you wouldnt have so many thousands of people complaining. I purchased my preowned car Aug 2013 at Long Island City, NY and I must say that since day one I have had many problems with it. It all started with the wheels making a very loud noise then it escalated, and all the problems were because of recalls. I tried having the dealership exchange my car, and they refused so I ended up with a lemon car then I relocated to Ithaca, and of course my engine seized, and since I have been out here my car has been in and out of the shop. I must say they all been great but I should not continue to have problems with it. Car is paid in full and its only been six years that I have this car and my experience has been the worst. My car came out the last week Monday and I drove it back to New York City, and it didnt seized or shutdown on me but it still dont drive as it should. Smh no good! I been saying it since day one that I got stuck with a lemon car even the body is not aligned smh. Single mom always stressed that I will get stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 8 yrs old daughter. Its so wrong! What a waste of my hard earned money. Very happy with my 10 year old car. Bought this Sonata brand new. 10 years later I still drive it. I have 156,000 miles on it. I change oil according to book, have replaced battery once. Bought new tires twice. Have not had any major problems. Drive great. I bought it because it had a great warranty. The only complaint I have is with Hyundai service department. They are not very good. Once I learned I could take it any mechanics as long as they use Hyundai parts. Thats the way to go.

As a loyal customer of Hyundai Vehicles that currently owns 4 Hyundai Cars I am extremely disappointed in the service received from the service department. My daughter is a college student in the area away from home. When purchasing her vehicle I added all the Hyundai Warranties offered to me in order to secure her safety at all times. Her vehicle was taken in April 2016 for repairs and replacement of a few items. She left there with not 1 item corrected. I called several times and was given several excuses. One weekend in May 2016 I drove 5 hours to address the issue in person. I was told by Curvin (Advisor) and Mike (Manager) that the issue would be resolved. Well June rolled around no action. I called the GM of this location to assist in the matter. Well he never returned my call. The only thing he did was send my message back to the service managerAfter contacting the warranty department myself I learned that Hyundai never requested the approval until June 30, 2016. Well here we are in July 2016. Still waiting on the items to be ordered. This will be my last Hyundai and I would not recommend anyone take their vehicle here. Since they were not making extra money off of me, my daughter service was not a priority at all. In 37 years this is the worst experience I have ever had...

I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Sonata in May 2015. 3 weeks after purchasing I began feeling a weird vibration and jerk when accelerating and braking. The violent jerk would worsen and I took it to get an transmission flush and the jerking stopped. Weeks later the jerking began again. It did this in and off about 2 times in 3 months. I took it back to the dealer who had 3 different repair shops who looked at the vehicle and determined it was transmission failure. I received notice a few days later informing me that my model of 2012 Sonata was upon those being recalled for engine failure as well. On top of all this Im moving to California in 3 weeks and desperately need reliable transportation. I will never buy a Hyundai again and am switching back to Nissan. I will be contacting the BBB and fox 2 about the issue and writing a letter to the office of the president! Lesson learned to research car manufactures reputation.

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

I purchased a 2012 Sonata (loaner car), absolutely love the vehicle. I took it in for 1st oil change and they advised the tires needed to be rotated, returned to work and was notified by co-worker that they had noticed a bubble in the front passenger tire that morning. I went outside to take a look and sure enough, the front passenger tire had bubble (since tires had been rotated approx. 30 minutes earlier). I called the dealership and was told tires were not covered under warranty. I explained that I had just had the tires rotated and no one in the service dept even acknowledged the bubble. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle at this point and do not think that I should have to spend money on a tire that was obviously damaged when I bought the vehicle. I have called the dealership service manager numerous times as well as the general manager and have even emailed the gm about 8 times and no response from any of them. I called Hyundai customer support thinking that would help. I was just notified by them that the reason the dealership didnt call me back was because I gave a different name than what the vehicle was purchased under and they could find no records. I guess a phone call to me to ask more questions was asking too much. I have zero confidence in that dealership or the customer support team. Obviously, once they get your money, you as a person does not matter to that dealership. Oh, and might I add this is my 4th Hyundai to buy. You would think a repeat customer would mean something. I can guarantee I will never do business with Texan Hyundai in Rosenberg, Texas again.

I had never bought anything but a Chevrolet or a Ford and I always had a full size car. The Hyundai was the first foreign car and the first small car that I have purchased. I love the way it drives and the MPG. But I did have a problem with the seat belts that the dealership refused to acknowledge and fix and the tires that came with the car were not good. It also did not come with a spare. I will never buy a car without a spare again.

I was told the service department would contact Hyundai directly to see if they would handle re-painting and that the service department would call me in about 4 days. I waited a week and called, no one answered so I left a message. No response from the message so I called again and was put on hold and hung up on. I called a third time and was told someone would call me. After two and a half weeks I get an email asking for pictures. After a few days of no further response, I sent a reply email about the pictures and was asked if I had filed a claim with Hyundai. How would I have known to file a claim when no one has contacted me? Russell Westbrook Hyundai use to give great service. Ive leased 3 vehicles in the last 8 years, this will be my last!

After driving my car for only 20 months the engine started to make a ticking noise & now my warranty claim is denied for lack of receipts & sludge. I am highly upset because I have to pay for a car that no longer works at the same time continue to pay for a warranty that denies my claim. What really is the point of purchasing a warranty if they are going to deny you? Now be that as it may I had this same problem before with a previous car I owned but did not have a warranty on it. All the reason why I purchased a warranty this time. What is up with all these used cars breaking down after 20 to 30,000 miles driving it? So I got a warranty on the Hyundai as part of my payment plan. The worst part about this deal is that Hyundai sold me a warranty that has been denied because of supposedly sludge build up in the car. I gave them a total of the latest 3 receipts I had. I sent them the stickers that the service men place on the corner of your driver side window for every time I had an oil change, dating back to when I first got the car to prove I actually did have the car worked on. And yet I am still denied. It really sucks. I pay my notes on time and have my car maintenance all the time. I was not even aware I had to keep my receipts for the warranty to even be used. They are not at all loyal to their customers. In talking to them they all will say they understand but cant do nothing for you, while they are still charging you for a lemon they sold you. America needs to make a law behind this. If a claim gets denied they should at least discontinue the contract seeing as they cant do anything for it if they obviously deny you. I also believe that all cars should be refinanced to the bluebook value if something as tragic as an engine or transmission breaks down.

Now they have placed a lien on my car because I cannot come up with roughly $13,000.00 for the car that was repossessed. I have been making monthly payments until I get it resolved ($13.000.00). I have never been late/ahead on my 2011 Hyundai Tucson. They have been unwilling to cooperate with me about this issue.I corresponded in writing (30 days in advance). Im permanently disabled & on a set salary. They said to contact them within 30 days, which I did, & heard nothing from them. I have paid $1,600.00 toward the repossession. Now they have placed a lien on my car. I replied to them in writing, no phone, & have not heard anything. I told them I could not obligate myself for a set amount because of medicine, doctor bills, medical bills, & daily living expenses in this economy. 2007 Accent problems - Where to start. First off, Ive had nothing but issues with this car. Faulty lighting, faulty sensors even my passenger air bag doesnt work, and theyve fixed it twice now. My light still remains on. I started having car issues when my car started jerking really hard when it went into gear. I took it to the dealership and they said everything was okay. My car runs like a champ. I asked them personally. Did you check my transmission? They said yes, everything is fine. I called a week later because I still was feeling the kick in my transmission. They said they never checked my transmission last time I was in. I feel I was lied to. Also, apparently, there was a recall on my car for several faulty wiring issues. I was never informed about this. I just found out in 2012 when this recall happened in 2009. Also, I got into a car accident. It was not my fault. Ive had my car took in twice for an alignment, window fixed 3 times. Also, my axle was affected in this wreck. They did not tell me this until I took it to someone else and they told me that my axle was messed up due to my car being hit. Hyundai never fixed it. Ive had something lose moving around under my car ever since the accident and they are still saying there is nothing wrong with my car and refuse to fix it. I plan on getting this car fixed then trading it in. Ive paid way too much money for things that were under warranty and should have been fixed the first time. I will never again purchase a car from Hyundai.

My husband and I bought a 2015 Hyundai sonata and back in June, I locked my keys in the car and called their roadside assistance and a man came out to get into the car. Well he did alright, causing over $1600.00 and I got a big run around concerning it. He also damaged my sisters 2015 Hyundai sonata as well causing over $1200.00. When she contacted Hyundai about it, they told her to contact the private companys insurance about it. She did and was told too bad. At the time of service, no one knew the guy seemed to be intoxicated, informing my sister and myself they called him away from a poker game. Well, they sent me a check for a little over $1300.00. As to date, my sister never received a dime. As for Hatfield Hyundai or any other Hyundai for that matter, we are done. This was not our first Hyundai (brand new) but our 3rd on and I might add the night we walked in and bought this new we also sold two more for them that night. My sister and her daughter bought one too. I will not because Im still having issues when I apply the brake or just to accelerate. I feel a weird shimmy and took it back in, they say thats normal. Well if it is, how come I never felt that on the other brand new ones we bought? I took the Sonata for a seat belt recall last Friday and had the worst service ever. Now receiving e-mail from service manager because he covered a tub of paint on bumper and hood, and the side step panel is coming loose. So he emails me concerning my ratings on a survey, telling me how bad my ratings hurt him. Really? Now he says hes paying for both services when the car is still under warranty. That piece has been loose for a long time and I was busy trying to some results on the damages done to my sisters and mine cars. Buyers Beware. If you want a new Hyundai go to DESSIS, they at least care about your needs.

I own two Sonatas, an 03 and an 08. Originally, the airbag light came on for the 03 around 140,000 miles and it was the passenger seat sensor. I eventually just got another seat from a salvage yard. Now, my 08 light is on and it too is the passenger seat causing the problem. This seems to be an ongoing issue with Hyundai (not just the Sonata). As the end user, we should have the ability to turn these things off. Unfortunately, in Virginia, we have annual inspections and if the light is on, it fails and you cant drive the vehicle. Im only complaining and realize my car is out of warranty.

In 2011 I purchased a Sante Fe with the in-car Navigation System. The day we drove the car off the lot the maps were out of date. I contacted the dealership and was told it would automatically update. Two years later, we asked again and were told we had to pay $200 to have the maps updated. Now, the car is 3-years-old and the navigation system is so bad it is dangerous. We dont even turn it on. For $200, we purchased a Garmin with free lifetime map updates. So we now drive a Sante Fe, with a built in navigation system, and a Garmin attached to the windshield. Friends are shocked at what we have had to do.Why is Hyundai doing this to their customers? I tried to speak to Hyundai Customer Connect System Lead Laura who gave me nothing but attitude. End of last year Nov 2011, I decided to buy a new car for my wife. Considering the economy was not so good, we decided to find a car which has low fuel consumption in the category of 1.6 and below. After making various market survey with the explanation from salesman from various model, we decided to go for Hyundai i10 1.25. The consumption is around 18 to 22 km per litter according to the salesman and it is stated in the technical brochures 5.3/100km combine fuel consumption. Due to that, we bought the car. It was delivered to us on 21st of November 2011.On the first day of delivery when I drove the car home on the highway, the car suddenly stopped. Luckily, there was no car behind me. I started the car again and drove it and it has no power. Due to it is near by my house about 4 km, I decided to drive slowly back home and call for Hyundai technical people to take back the car. About half a day, the Hyundai tow car came and picked the car for repair. After about two days, the car was delivered back to me. I drove the car and it looked okay. The next day, I gave it to my wife to use it. About two weeks, my wife drove the car. She relished that the fuel consumption was very high. I took the car and make an official complaint to Hyundai. They check my vehicles and told me that it is not a problem. They also tell me that to send for the first service at 1,000 km.On 7th December 2011, I sent my car to Hyundai for the first service. I also complain about fuel consumption. After the service, I start recording the fuel consumption. From my reading and record, the fuel consumption at average is about 11.5km per litter. On 8 Jan 2012, I make another official complaint and Hyundai do a testing again and they said there is no problem. The technical guy said the fuel consumption is about 14km per litter. It is contradictory with the salesman and technical brochures as mentioned earlier. In this case, we feel that we being cheated by the Hyundai when the technical guy said it is about 14km per litter. The worst is the real consumption according to speedometer and my record, it is on average of 11.5km per litter.I made another official complaint on 30th of January 2012 during my second service. They made another try and said that it is okay about 14km per liter. I told them that I cannot get that mileage. They cannot explain to me further. I made another official complaint on 4th March 2012 and left the car for two weeks until 22nd March 2012 for them to check and give me the result. Unfortunately, when I received the car on 22nd March 2012, they did not make an attempt to check it until the last day they delivered to me, still cannot tell me the problem. I feel that Hyundai has cheated me.On 26th of March, I made another official complaint about it but until today, they did not contact me. For information, I have given the record and data of refueling and mileage reading to them. I do not know if they are interested to rectify the problem or they could not care less about it.

HYUNDAI IS THE WORST WORST WORST! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN CORPORATE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. Everyone in my family owns a Hyundai. My son has a 2012 Sonata that started burning oil. He brought it to Star Hyundai who fixed the problem but actually made things worse. He then brought the car to Plaza Auto Mall where he purchased the car and was told he needed a new engine due to what Star Hyundai did. The warranty claim was denied because they said he never had an oil change. He then produced 8 receipts showing all the oil changes he indeed did have and still they declined the warranty work. He was told that we had NO RIGHT to know why it was denied. On Feb 16TH I spoke to a MS. ** who said she would get back to me within 48 hrs to find out why it was denied. It is now March 5th and still no call back. Today I called corporate and theOPERATOR would not let me tell her what the problem was. When I tried to speak she said SHUT THE ** UP then she hung up. I called back repeatedly and every time she hung up. I have traded in my car and will be buying a Subaru. My son unfortunately was so desperate he traded in his car at Plaza Auto Mall and leased a new Sonata - which we all regret.

I bought a brand new Tucson 2016. After I drove it for less than 800 miles the Check Engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and was told a pin fell inside the engine and broke it. Dealer offered to replace the engine. Because it was a new car I refused. So, after a lengthy fight Hyundai finally agreed to give me another new Tucson. Phew... wait, I am not done yet. 2 weeks later I took delivery of the new Tucson and guess what? 1200 miles later, the car just stalled and would not start as I was driving in the middle of the highway. Now that was scary, in the middle of the highway at night! Luckily there was a state trooper nearby who was able to redirect traffic around my car while I waited for a tow truck. I had the car towed back to the dealer. After looking into it for about 2 weeks, they finally called me to tell me there was another problem with the engine and it could not be repaired. Again, Hyundai has offered to send a replacement engine. This time I refused and am currently fighting them for my money back. Consumer beware of the 2016 Tucson, they are junky.

I purchased a 2011 Hyundai i20 in May this year. Ever since I purchased the car, I had to send the car back in to Hyundai after a week to get a new clutch master cylinder. A month after, I took the car into Hyundai as the accelerator on the car was getting stuck and jolty (not normal or safe). Hyundai replaced this for me. But after 2 months, the problems started again. I took the car back to Hyundai. I advised them of the occurring problems with the car and Hyundai just lubricated the accelerator. While Hyundai had my car, I took the time to re-test drive another Hyundai i2o from the dealership in Roseville. I explained to the dealership the problems I have with my car. When we took this other Hyundai i20 for a drive, I straight away noticed that the drive of the car was better and smoother. Plus, the whole clutch and accelerator on this car was perfect. When I called the Hyundai head office to advise them of all the problems I have had with my car and the massive difference I felt in the drive of the test drive car, Hyundai advised that they couldn’t do anything about my car. But they told me to keep sending it back to Hyundai each time the same problem occurs. This is not good enough answer. I don’t feel safe driving a car that keeps having the same problems over and over again. I think Hyundai should be replacing my car or should refund me the cost of the car. I would buy a car through a different car company that is reliable. I never expected to have a brand new car with this much problems. Now my car is making tapping noises from the motor. I don’t know what else to do. This car is stressing me out. I can’t keep sending this car back each time this happens. My previous 1979 Chrysler Sigma, which is 31 years old, never had problem like this. The only thing I ever had to replace on that car was a set of brake pads. Please help me. Thanks.

I am very disappointed with Hyundai. I purchased a 2015 Sonata sport on September 28 and 17 days later I went thru the car wash and the shark fin came off during the wash and it broke into pieces. I called the dealership and they quoted some ridiculous price for a plastic cover, I couldnt believe it, so next I called Hyundai corporate office to see if it was cover by warranty and was told no and they were sorry to hear about my misfortune and I am simply furious and sad at the same time because the refused to accommodate me in any way with a simple matter after not even having the care for a month. I see that they dont stand by their product and dont care about their customers satisfaction. I would hate to see what happens if I have a major problem. I am sure that that computer board underneath isnt supposed to be exposed but Hyundai could care less I see. So next I guess itll get ruined. I cant believe Hyundai would be so unconcerned and inconsiderate of its customers. I am also sure the fin should just come off in a car wash so it had to be defective before. I will tell all my family and friends that Hyundai is not a honorable company and it does not care for its customers and does not stand by their products. I should have known better when I read the articles about the car fires and they didnt take care of the people in that situation. I dont know why I expected them to give a crap about my issue. I have an appointment with south town Hyundai tomorrow. I dont know why or if I should even keep the appointment because I cant afford their prices. I was so excited about my new car and I actually love it, however this disappointment I have for Hyundai I have right now makes me never again buy or trust Hyundai. I bought 2 Hyundais in the past 5 years and every time I go to the dealer to fix a problem, they say, Yes it is not working properly, but it still works enough to not replace. This goes for the shocks that wont lift the hatch back up, and the AC that makes a loud clunk sound EVERY time I turn off the car. Dont believe the warranty because they will delay you until the warranty runs out. Tired of their lies!

I had purchased the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe new from Lester Glenn in Toms River, NJ. I had numerous complaints with it but most were with the transmission. The first problem took 9 visits to the dealer to have the problem repaired. I heard every line of crap and no one knew how to fix it. Corporate told me bring it to another dealer and see if they could fix it. The other dealership pulled up my VIN and saw all the times I was at this dealer with the same problem and decided they would not want to repair the vehicle. My latest events are also with the transmission showing a hot transmission temp sensor going off. I took it to my mechanic first and using his scan tool found the problem was the hi temp tranny sensor light. I took a picture with my camera of the error code, time and odometer reading because my mechanic said they will probably not fix it. Well he was right. They erased the error code and then blamed me, my mechanic and the car; because according to them the car can erase its own codes but according to Hyundai corporate the car can not do that. Then the dealership tells me that my car is now a problem car and I should sell it and buy myself one I would be happy with. Corporate tells me the problem is the dealerships not theirs even with the extended warranty. They claim only to have a business agreement with the dealership not a licensing one. DO NOT BUY ANY HYUNDAI, they are garbage and service is less than inane.

So I bought out my lease for a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition. I have reported numerous times to Hyundai’s customer care team and the Hyundai case management team, about the engine problems I have been having such as oil consumption and the intermittent stalling on roadways. The intermittent stall has almost gotten me into an accident numerous times and I almost got killed at an intersection from it stalling. I have brought my vehicle in into dealerships for inspection and servicing. Hyundai USA does nothing about it and simply brushed me off. Currently I have been out of a vehicle for over a week now since the check engine light came on and I am having problems with the ECM. My vehicle is at 104000 miles and the problems started at 70k miles. I have been in and out of mechanic shops to get it fix and it still has problems. I have requested to Hyundai underpins times that it needs a new engine and they just ignore my complaints and requests. If you are looking into purchasing a car I would never look at a Hyundai for the safety of yourself and your family. Please look elsewhere. I’m still making payments on a non working piece of junk. Please don’t be a victim. Look elsewhere.

We get tossed around to multiple agents, they make us verify our information multiple times, we get disconnect frequently, and worst of all NO ONE SEEMS TO EVER BE ABLE TO ANSWER BASIC QUESTIONS. We have been told multiple times that the copy of our title was sent to the DMV but every time we call, the DMV says they havent received it. We then call Hyundai who says were sorry someone told you that, we will send it out today THIS CYCLE KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF OVER AND OVER!!! I was in a severe car accident last May. Hyundai tells me they are working directly with my insurance company and that the charges would be covered, not to worry and if there’s any problems they’ll contact me. With recovering from injuries, they give me no indication that I still have a balance from the crash that the insurance did not cover. They put me in a brand new car without even mentioning the thousands I’ve dollars I still owed. I was left in the dark. My credit score plummeted. I then find out through the credit bureau that I have a balance on my Hyundai account that was never dealt with. I call Hyundai and they tell me it’s my fault and I should have checked in with them. I explain to them I was told everything’s as being taken care of while I was being treated in the hospital and if anything was off that I would receive a call. They tell me I shouldn’t trust everything people say!!! No word of lie, that’s what they said to me. I’ll NEVER do business with Hyundai again. They do not care about their loyal customers at all. Ruthless.

Bought a brand new 2017 Hyundai Tucson eco, I only had it for a few months and its been in the shop more than I have been driving it. All types of problems with the electrical, it is at the shop at the moment I am typing this while mechanics are scratching their heads to figure out what is wrong with it and how to fix it. I called Hyundai corporate they said they would return my call, You think they did. What a joke. They have no concerns about the safety issues with this car even though I tell them that the windshield wipers stick two to three inches from take off on the windshield. AC sounds like Gremlins are about to attack you coming from the vents. Transmission drives and shifts like somebody that does not know how to drive a stick shift when this is an automatic vehicle. Gas gauge sticks even though its full and you cant put any more in it. The gas gauge will read from a half tank to 3/4 of a tank full until you hit a bump. Including with the issues the dash lights dim and brighten by themself. This car should have yellow lemons painted all over it along with every car that Hyundai puts out especially since corporate is treating their customers this way, not a very good ethic on gaining your customers Trust or to get repeat customers. I really dont understand how this company is in business. I guess thats why our government had to do a bail out on their **. My experience alone it has been a real shady experience.

We received a new car warranty with 4 years remaining and a used car warranty which would replace the new car warranty for additional 10 years. We took our car to Merced Hyundai for servicing. They had serviced our car before. I said the engine was making a funny sound. I spoke to the technician who said that Hyundai and Kia engines had been having breakdowns. They begin to work on the car and suddenly they ran into some difficulties. Suddenly Hyundai wanted all kinds of paper work. This went for some time. I mentioned our warranties. Hyundai Corp. said they do have a new car and used car warranty. They could proceed with repairs with no cost to us. Then the nightmare began.Suddenly they couldnt find parts for our car. The mechanics have been wonderful. They have been looking everywhere. Hyundai Corp. seems like they could care less. At this date we are still waiting for parts to complete the repairs. We are senior citizens my wife is 74 and I am 78. We are on Social Security with part time jobs to make ends meet. Since Hyundai said they could not give us a loaner, we have had to rent a car for seven (7) weeks now. This is a small fortune to us. We have had to go into our savings account to pay for this. We are running out of money. We have talked to Hyundais customer complaint service. All they say is that they are working on it?? Lately, for the past two weeks they have not returned any of our calls for updates on our complaint. Regina seems to have disappeared. We are running out of money and need help. WE NEED OUR CAR!! As of this date, they are still waiting for parts to repair our car. Soon we will be forced to file for bankruptcy because we have to pay the $300 a week to rent a car....for no reason since Hyundai has turned their backs on us. We will have to give up our rental because there is no more money to pay for it....so, we will no longer be able to get to our jobs. Our golden years have become a waste and we are terrified!Frank and Joyce

This service is such a scam! They give it to you for free and then before the year is up and you can call to cancel, they automatically renew on your credit card. Then for a month now (calls started 12/14 and hopefully ended today), I have been trying to get through to them to cancel and reverse the charge!!! I have emailed them 4 times and tried calling only to be on hold for over an hour!!! They offer you the option of giving your number for a call back but then never return your call. I finally got so disgusted I called the main customer service. The poor woman had to bear the brunt of my frustration and said she would make a note of my call in my file and that my money would be refunded. Today was my 5th call and now I am waiting to see if I get a confirmation of my cancellation like I was promised. I love my Hyundai and have owned them since 1997 but this treatment is enough to make me bad mouth them forever!!!

My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Hyundai Sonata. We purchased this car because my wife commuted to work about 80 miles one way and liked the fact that it had the 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. The car has been great mechanically but now the exterior door handles are breaking off. I have since found out from 2 different dealerships that this is a known problem and was directed to file complaints with Hyundai and my Attorney General’s Office. Hyundai did contact me to address the complaint but refuse to offer any kind of assistance to repair the handles. I would not recommend this car to anyone looking to purchase one. I paid extra for a paint and protection warranty 2 1/2 years ago (5 year plan) cost $295.00, for my Hyundai Elantra. I took my car in Sept. 13, 2014 on a Saturday, specifically to get my interior cleaned. I left my car there and came home. Four Hours later I was called and told they could not do the interior as they had no one to do this. Also the service advisor Pedro ** in charge told me this was the first time he heard of this warranty. And was told I had to come back during the week. I told him I couldnt as I work and they should have told me this hours ago or better yet the time I made the appt.. Well the service advisor Pedro ** stated they would do the cleaning. Well when I got my car back the seats were wet in spots, and when they dried none of the stains were gone. I have not called them back but I will and let them know how disappointed I am as I have paid for this service, and no one was honoring it. This will probably go on deaf ears but maybe it will stop someone else from giving the car dealership more money for service they dont follow up on.

Terrible cars... worse service. I am the owner of a 2008 Hyundai Accent. It was my first new car purchase almost a decade ago. Thats great, except for when I actually took possession of the keys. Within three days the gas cap had to be replaced due to depressurizing. Then about 18 months later there was an issue where the key would go into the ignition, but would not turn. The wheel lock was not the issue. Roadside came out, and said one of the tumblers were jammed. They tapped the key with a rubber mallet, and the key went in without issue. Fast forward three years later, the original 5-year warranty had expired. This time the key would not even go halfway into the ignition. I had to pay $65 for a tow, $700 out of pocket for a new ignition, plus $200 for a rental car. The excuse I got from Hyundai of Bedford Heights, Ohio was that the weight of my keys were too heavy. There were a total of six keys on my ring. It took about a month, but they refunded me the tow and the ignition, and basically told me I was out of luck on the rental. Now there was the recall for the undercarriage rust protection in the snow-belt states late last year. Two weeks before I received the notice, the entire exhaust pipe from the front axle to the muffler fell off the car in the middle of the street. Driving it to a Midas down the street, it was found the pipe, and all the welds that attach to the undercarriage were RUSTED out... imagine that! That was $1,000 out of my own pocket. Thankfully, Hyundai offered a reimbursement program. I get a call several weeks after I filed the claim wanting to know exactly why I was filing the claim. I had yet to hear anything, so I wanted to see if they offered a status update. Sure enough... denied. So magically Hyundai offers to spray the undercarriage to prevent rust under recall, then tells you to stick it when parts have already fallen off due to the reason why the recall was initiated in the first place. I will never purchase another Hyundai again, and Ive gladly talked several friends out of purchasing their product in the last few years. I even laugh at people driving Hyundai vehicles with new tags on them, because I know the world of pain they are due for.

This 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, is my 7th Santa Fe since 2001. I love the car. More room than the Toyota Rav 4, or the other SUVs in this class. As of now, there is a recall for the car. I have spoken to several owners who have had the recall fixed, and the problems with it are a nightmare. The updated software obviously isnt doing the job. The car will slow down (at any given time) if the software registers a problem. I drive on highways all the time, with my 2 yr. old grandson in the car. I cannot afford for the car to indiscriminately slow down when I have a tractor trailer or other cars driving behind me at 70 - 80 miles per hour. I offered to sign a waiver to say I do not want the recall done. They wont do it as they feel it is a safety issue. My car is fine. The fixed software issue is the real safety issue. I called the corporate office, who is referring me to a case manager. But the corporate office already said if there is a safety recall, the have to fix it, period. I asked him if there is a form that Hyundai will sign to say if I get into an accident because of the recall, that I hold them responsible for that. They cannot do that. Not that I thought they will. But I would like to have it on record, here, that I do not want it fixed, and if it is fixed, and I have a severe accident that I or my family will sue the Hyundai company. Unfortunately, my family will have lost myself and my 2 year old grandson if this should happen.

I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. After having a HORRIBLE experience with the Hyundai of North Charleston Dealership in North Charleston, SC (See my review there also) my car was fixed after 3 WEEKS and I was left without having any vehicle for work. I am in sales and work in the field where an automobile is a NECESSITY! Thats why I bought NEW for dependability! My car was still under warranty and only needed a battery & starter (this took 3 weeks). I only had 39k miles.Hyundai customer care REFUSED to pay for a rental car for me and the dealership said NO loaners were available. I was only able to rent a car for 2 days and submitted paperwork for reimbursement and was only offered $150 for the rental when I had to pay almost $300 for the rental for 2 days on an economy size car! Hyundai would not even offer the FULL amount for my 2 DAY RENTAL! Wow! I was told that if I rented a car...Hyundai would reimburse me and turns out this was another MAJOR Letdown from this whole Hyundai ordeal! Its a very good thing (only 1 out of this whole story) that I was not able to rent a car for the 3 weeks...because I would have not gotten ALL my $$ back which would have been a DOUBLE loss of money $$ for me being out of work for 3 weeks AND not having received a FULL Rental car reimbursement! I totally feel disrespected and was treated like my business was of VERY LITTLE VALUE to them. This was my 2nd Hyundai purchase...but after this ordeal...I am DONE with Hyundai...the corporate office seems to be WORST than this dealership! I am extremely disappointed by the way Hyundai USA decided to handle my handsfree case. This issue was present since day 1 of us purchasing the vehicle in 2017. I spent a lot of my time at home and away from work troubleshooting and sending several audio recordings to the company and have been able to reproduce the issue with every single phone call, however the dealership kept the vehicle for several hours and returned it back stating we dont see a problem. I purchased a new phone, and switched 3 different carries, however the problem never went away. I am extremely saddened by Hyundais lack of ownership of the issue. The least Hyundai could do is try to replace the radio or the microphone to eliminate the issue, instead Hyundai decided to close the case. However, after this experience, I will be taking my business to a company that stands behind their customers. It is such a shame for the entire Hyundai team that they wont stand behind the customer and fix something that is still under warranty.

We bought a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. I only get 34 MPG on the HWY. The mileage reimbursement is nothing short of insulting. I was blatantly lied to by my salesman when I purchased my car. But my salesman said, If you get a flat, we will bring you a tire and YOU GET FREE TIRES FOR FIVE YEARS. I replied, Is there a mileage limit on getting the new tires? Salesman: No mileage restrictions, free tires for five years. ABSOLUTE LIE!! I called the service department recently and the woman practically laughed at me! And last, I called the previous Mercedes Benz dealership that I bought a car from in 2002 (WHERE TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIVES). Turns out the 100,000/10-yr warranty that we paid $1,995 for, cant be transferred which dramatically reduces the resale value!! In July, our car broke down in Georgia. We live in New Jersey. We had Roadside Assistance bring it to the nearest dealership. The dealership told us it was our transmission but the car was still under warranty. It took five days to get a rebuilt transmission and put it in. In the meantime, we were stuck in Georgia. I was told to send originals of my expenses to Roadside Assistance. It cost me over $700.00 for hotel, rental car and food for five days. They only reimbursed me $300.00, which they said was the max amount. So why bother telling people to send in the receipts for hotel, food and car rental? While we were driving home, we heard a rattling noise that wasnt there before. I called Global Hyundai in Plainfield when we got home and explained the situation. They said they would have to charge us to diagnose the car because they hadnt done the original repair. I called Hyundai Corp. and they said that wasnt right, to have Global call them, but before we had a chance, the trans went again. I had it towed to Global and they they said they fixed the problem. They wouldnt address the rattling noise unless I paid for it because they said it had nothing to do with the trans. I dont know how they knew this since they never diagnosed the problem. We have had the car back one week and the trans went again. They said we need to upgrade the trans and that we would have to pay for it. I called Hyundai Corp. again and they said the trans computer should have been updated when they replaced the trans in Georgia and that they would call Global to tell them to fix it at no cost to us. I bought a 2016 Elantra GT right off the lot. I was so proud. My first brand new car. It did great until it reached about 12,000 miles. Then it decided to quit starting. I had it towed to the dealership. The service department was helpful... at first. They did change something with the start button and I picked the car back up. One day later, same thing. Couldnt get it out of my driveway. This started happening June 13, 2016. Since then my car has been in the shop non-stop, except for the 4 times I picked it up and became stranded at various places because it wouldnt start. I went through the BBB as required by Hyundai. The BBB determined that the car needed to be repurchased or traded for the same model. Hyundai offered to repurchase the car in August. I completed all the paperwork requested... every... single... time. The repurchase was supposed to be completed today October 21, 2016.I have called and called every number for Hyundai--no one can help me. My case manager, Kris **, is always out of the office and has called me once. No e-mail, nothing. I have had to rent a car out of pocket for the last 3 weeks, maxing credit cards and cancelling trips with my family. I have never felt so devalued in my life. I dont think Hyundai understands that even though my payment was small to them, not having a reliable car has caused a huge amount of stress for me and so much hardship on my family. As a single mom of two great boys, we have had to cancel trips and reroute funds for the rental car. I am a teacher and have to get to work. Genesis is a separate something in the Hyundai universe. When it comes to finance or services, its Hyundai. The car itself is a gem. Nothing to say about performance, comfort, and all. For the service portion of it, its a complete disaster. Worse is when ethical issues reveal themselves. Believe it or not, parts from my engine were stolen during a 5,000 miles revision in a dealers service shop, false diagnosis of broken parts with a $3,000+ estimate on something verified absolutely functional, like new, not broken at all. Verified by a Genesis engineer after a long fight with management so upsetting this was. And finally the finance department reporting a late payment to the credit bureau when it was clear the payment cleared and all was fine. This is by the way the unresolved issue. They would not budge and remove their rating so obsessed they are to find you, the customer, wrong. Over three managers at the credit customer service department saw the evidence, accepted to make the change, and this was never done. The above shows a scary behavior. Two different dealers (stolen part was my first Genesis and the rest by another dealer where I leased the second G80). Am a customer service professional and very affected by this type of story when I read or hear it from someone. When going through it by myself it is of course more painful. I demanded they take the car back and close the leasing contract at no cost for me. They refused saying it is not a Lemon law violation. Instead as they recognized with their engineer that nothing justified any repair and that it was a scam and offered 3 months break on the leasing payments. Not one word of apology. I responded that it was not about the Lemon law or any default in the car but the simple fact that I cannot trust them moving forward and want to walk away from the relationship. They could not understand that.

I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks. He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. He wants me to sign a different deal than the one I have and give back everything that they have in my contract. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO TO KEEP THE CONTRACT THAT I WAS GIVEN AS WRITTEN, AND THE CAR.

I bought a new 2015 Hyundai Elantra and already had problems at 37,000 miles. My car started making weird noises and lost power when we went to take it in the car wouldnt even start. When you go there to buy a car they treat you like gold. If you have a problem I felt more like we were shoplifters. I would never recommend buying a Hyundai to anyone sadly it looks beautiful but thats it.

This is typical for dealerships but theyre not long for this country. I have a senior citizens vehicle in my shop with a faulty block that was faulty from the manufacturer. I attempted simply to very parts through Hyundai and they said, You have to prepay in order to get the parts and two days later they might have the parts in the dealership. The parts for example are pistons, which with the dealership are $90.00 each for a grand total of $400 and change after taxes and other frivolous charges. The exact sane parts coming from Thailand at another place is $90 out the door, including shipping AND you receive at your door the very next day. These people are greedy and worthless. Their products stink! Their service sinks! Their greed is obvious! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

First item was dash storage compartment that did not work, this was fixed, Chrome tailpiece rusted within 3 months, dealer ordered wrong part to repair, had to take tailpiece and muffler off of courtesy car. Door molding worn through after 3 months from just entering vehicle. (Flimsy and thin compared to my other vehicle.) Poor gas mileage. 4 cylinder is underpowered for mountain driving. Vehicle has stalled while driving on street at 30mph.

On March 19, 2014, around 2pm I was driving home from my place of work in Temecula, CA, where my car had been off & parked for at least three hours. I was northbound on Highway 15, between Murrieta Hot Springs and California Oaks Road, in my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The car seemed to be driving fine until suddenly the car immediately starting smoking from under the hood and as I was pulling over to the side of the freeway, flames emerged. As soon as I pulled over and put the car in park, I hopped out hoping it wouldnt blow up with me inside. Then, after multiple failed attempts to extinguish the fire, it finally went out with the help of a few good Samaritans. Im extremely thankful, my fiancee and baby girl were not in the car with me. According to the incident report, it was the fuel line that had failed. Yet according to the Hyundai reps who have contacted me since towing my car to Hyundai in Temecula, they cannot determine the cause of the fire. Ive done some extensive research on similar occurrences only to find out that there have been multiple unresolved fires in Hyundai Sonatas around the US. After 2 months of a thorough investigation on my vehicle, they sent me a letter stating they had no idea what caused the fire. So, they cannot agree that the fire was caused by the vehicle. Ive found plenty others with the same issue. Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!?

I purchased my Accent 2007 brand new off the lot. It is a 5-speed manual shift. I have had extreme brake problems ever since but thats the least of my trouble. Driving to work one night last week, I was moving in traffic and the car just shut off. Luckily, I was able to drift safely to the side of the road I was on. I had to have the car towed to my garage. The next morning, the mechanic called to give me the bad news. My timing belt broke. Okay, I could handle that until he told me the rest... In these cars, when the timing belt breaks, the valves in the motor keep moving and are most likely bent. So I have to pay for the repair and when we try to start it, we will know for sure. I am sick over this. I am on a tight budget and cannot afford a new car at this time. My job is 50 miles one way and I now have no way to get there. Shame on Hyundai for placing such a faulty piece of equipment in their vehicles. I owned a Hyundai Excel years ago and had 200,000 plus miles on it and only ever had to replace a thermostat in it. Had I known how poorly Hyundai is building their cars now, I would have never bought another one. But you can bet that I will never purchase another, nor will anyone in my family. I also work in a big hospital... Thats a lot of potential customers, Hyundai.

My 2012 Hyundai Veloster has strong smell of gasoline inside of vehicle. Dealer states that this is normal with temps over 100 degrees and start and stop traffic, so they did nothing. I guess this means that it cannot be used from May through September in the Henderson/Las Vegas area, as the temp is always over 100. I cannot believe they think this is acceptable. Do not buy this car. The dealer did provide me with details stating this issue is normal. Im not sure where he got it, but it appears to be from Hyundai.

2005 Hyundai Santa Fe - May 2016 I call Hyundai with concerns about my airbags not deploying and I explained everything to the lady I spoke with and was told they should have deployed. I was offered a new Hyundai. I provided all information, documentation and pictures and everything to my knowledge. I receive a letter from Hyundai consumer affairs in July saying that my case would be closed if I didnt provide information asked for. So I provided it to them at the email provided on letter. David ** called me and stated that if I sent anything else to them he would no longer speak to me and close my case. I provided again which he stated he didnt receive so I called and he wouldnt return my call.I called the number in his email asking for an address to mail the pictures and documentation to and the lady I spoke with told me that she wasnt allowed to give me that information and according to the police report that I was at fault and got what I deserved which most of my phone calls I have witnesses to which was stated because I couldnt really stand or walk so it was put on speaker and held for me. Then once all information was provided I no longer heard from David, could not get in contact with. It took months of complaints and calls which was aggravating. Then I received a call after the car had been auctioned off that I told David I had retained an attorney which was untrue and that I never signed and returned the release. So he closed my case when I provided original release and proof. I never said that which Hyundai consumer affairs had in their records. Also he called me back and said according to the pictures and documentation that the car didnt perform as it should have, that Hyundai wanted to settle to provide medical bills and all cost. This was October 2016. He said it was approved for partial coverage which he would not explain meant and then said they were leaning towards full settlement and December 1 2016 was last contact I received where David asked me what would it take to make this go away and to take in consideration that my vehicle was not equipped with side airbags.Once I proved that it was by the vehicle documentation he said, Wow okay that changes everything, that he would call me in a few days, that they were going to have a settlement offer and then called back that evening saying that he needed the police report which a month before stated it wasnt needed to proceed and even tho it was provided in july 2016. After that he would no longer return my calls or emails. I finally got one response saying they got the police report and was waiting on last sheet that goes with it that they requested nothing else. Now last week he called saying my claim was denied, that the officers statement stated that I was in vehicle not restrained and specifically that side airbags deployed even tho they already got statement from my insurance company saying they didnt and will not provide this report.I supposedly signed saying my airbags deployed and I wasnt wearing a seatbelt. I have pictures proving nothing deployed. The way this was handled and how I was treated being told from day one I got what I deserved, the constant threats to close my case, the remarks that if Hyundai felt that my case was worth it they would investigate, constantly being called a liar and the excruciating pain I was and still am in just doesnt seem right at all. I expected better treatment and respect from a company.

I had no idea what to expect when I bought my 2006 Sonata. It turned out to be a great car. We had the V6 Limited but no sunroof or top of the line radio. MPG was as high as 24.8 because we did highway miles. Repairs were few and infrequent. We did regular fluid changes as recommended by the dealer; but as far as repairs, we did very few. Need ceramic brake pads at 90,000. We did the plugs finally at 120,000, but I think they would have gone to 150,000 without a problem since they were iridium. Also had a pulley go bad. Finally, had to also do struts and shocks and also had to do tires of course from time to time. I’m very pleased over all. Only annoying thing that happened was replacing the third brake light. Whoever designed the access to this bulb needs to be re-educated LOL. I finally sold it at 150,000 miles, but I really think it would have gone 250,000 for sure.

Due to rude and incompetent people that handle customer service I will never buy a Hyundai again. I like the product but dealing with the people at Hyundai Motor Finance USA is so unpleasant that I would rather buy any other car. The staff doesnt listen to a word you say, they just repeat their demands over and over until you get so frustrated you have to hang up and compose yourself. Ask for a supervisor then you wait on hold for a long period and then just get the same treatment from the supervisors. Whatever happen to customer service? These people are horrible to deal with. If you want a Hyundai DO NOT USE HMFUSA unless you want to deal with condescending, obnoxious, rude and ignorant people!

All I have to say is that the description provided by the sales person of this vehicle Tucson 2017 I leased is so inaccurate. He described this vehicle as good gas mileage, features, and speed. First of all he said 25mpg in city and 29mpg on highway, I travel a lot and it takes way less than that. Second of all key fob does not open the trunk even though it has a picture of the open trunk on it, I believe it is false advertisement, as it show that pic. I will read the manual and see what it say, to take further actions on this. I just dont know why would it have that pic if it will only unlock it, makes no sense for that use the unlock button. Third people are not trained well as when I called in to check if it was an electric problem the person who answer said that she checked the users manual and it was supposed to unlock it. Ask me to bring it to service to check. When I took it there, the service guy cut me off and said nope it only unlocks it and walked away, not even let me finish my question, so I had to leave, because no one will pay attention to me after they heard him saying that. Then they call me for my plates, the receptionist completely ignored me for a while, they gave me the plates and ask me if I want some one to help me put the plates. I said yes gratefully, and she page someone in service, after waiting for 30 minutes decided to leave as no one showed. This is the first time I ever review someone, so I dont know what else to put, but what I can tell you is that it is the WORSE purchase/contract I ever did. I wish I can return the car, but it will kill my credit so I have to stick with it. I hope you read this before buying/leasing a car and dont go for a Hyundai or not go to that Hudson Hyundai in NJ. I will read the manual and see what it says about the key fob, maybe it is false advertisement, and I will post it here. Dont get stocked in a car like this, it REALLY SUCKS, to live with it for three years.

We love the appearance of our Hyundai Sonata. However, it is covered under an oil consumption recall which the dealer will not fix. Hyundais complaint department is no help other than recommending us going to another dealer. The next dealer is further away from us. We already drive too far to the current dealer for them to do the oil consumption test. Said oil consumption test involves the dealer changing the oil early due to the oil consumption. They have guidelines that say the car must use 1 quart of oil by 1,000 miles. Our car makes it barely past 1,000 miles and then hits 2 quarts low before the oil change is due.We have been advised not to add oil or get oil changed anywhere other than the dealership. Thats what we are doing. They seem to overfill the oil each time which gets us barely past that 1,000 mile guideline. We cant trust this car for trips. We cant keep driving back and forth to the dealership for them to do nothing. We will not buy another Hyundai and we will continue to warn others of our troubles.

I bought this Hyundai Elantra new from the dealer on 2014. It doesnt even have 47000 miles and the passenger door handle paint, which is rarely used, is already peeled off and according to the dealer the body paint is already out of warranty (yeah! And they claim to have the best warranty). I just looked over the Internet and it was a court dismisses peeling paint class action against Hyundai on 2017, I dont know the reason this was dismissed but evidently they continue doing this sloppy body paint in all their cars, this and many others complaints from the customers with zero acceptability from Hyundai have convinced me that this is a company I cannot trust so this is gonna be my last Hyundai car.

On Memorial Day, I purchased a Hyundai Tucson Sport AWD 1.6L Turbo. This is my first time purchasing a Hyundai and I really made the purchase because of the warranty. Now I am having buyers remorse. The vehicle I purchased drives great on the highway, but is not easy to drive in city traffic. I experience a lot of hesitation and jerkiness when pressing on the gas pedal to accelerate from a complete stop. I have complained about this to the dealer and was told I need to get used to the gas pedal because that is the nature of the turbo engine. I have also experienced a lot of static on FM radio stations. The owners manual mentions that static does not mean there is anything wrong with the radio, it is just a poor signal coming to the car due to distance from the tower or perhaps trees or buildings blocking the signal. I have even experienced outages when I tune into XM stations using Sirius. I will get silence for up to three minutes. The dealer told me to bring it in at my convenience and they will check out the radio, but I have a feeling if it does not act up while they have it, they will just re-iterate what the owners manual says. I have never had these issues with any of my previous vehicles, so I think these are design issues with this model. I am not a happy Hyundai owner to say the least.
