I have dealt with corporate for over a year to try and get the power of attorney to do a state to state transfer and they lied each time by saying that someone else mailed it to me to shoo me off the phone and caused me to have to get a ticket from the police due to their negligence and disorganization. I was unable to ever get a power of attorney until I called corporate several times and explained that this was a breach of contract by not sending me the necessary documents. I will never again lease from this company and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

In fall 2014, I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Elantra with a 1.8 L 4 cylinder motor. Since then, the car has had standard interval servicing with full synthetic motor oil, done at the Hyundai Dealership. The car is mainly used for commuting to work, and the majority of the miles driven are interstate miles. The car drives approximately 30,000 miles per year. At 105,000 miles, the car developed a ticking from the front of the engine. The standard powertrain warranty is 10 year/100,000 miles. I took the car to the Stew Hansen Hyundai dealership in Des Moines IA, and they diagnosed it as a worn rod bearing, or rod knock. The service Hyundai agreed to provide the parts, but did not agree to provide the service cost ($2500) or loaner car. At the time that the engine needed repair, I was told that the parts would be in as soon as possible. Joe, my service advisor, advised that other cars that are same make and model has been experiencing this issue after the winter months of 2017. He advised that the dealership had 5 others Elantras waiting for a new engine. He advised that the engine components were not getting enough oil due to a manufacturing defect. Therefore, running without oil for extended periods of time. It has now been almost 2 months, and Hyundai is estimating, but not guaranteeing, that the engine will arrive on April 27th. Which is a total of 3 months since I have not had my car. I have been advised that the engine parts are backordered, which tells me that this is a national problem. I have contacted Hyundai Woodhouse in Omaha, NE and they advised me that they are having the same issues with their customers Elantras. I have contacted Hyundai Consumers Affairs about the issue, and asked for reimbursement for a rental car because the process is taking a long period of time. My consumer claims advisor told me that they could not give me a definitive answer if I would be covered by a rental reimbursement. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor advised me that the reimbursement would depend if the part was included in a repair campaign or recall. Upon asking if this part would be covered under a campaign or recall because of the national shortage, she could not given a definitive answer, and advised that my reimbursement claim would be reviewed after the part is fixed, leaving me with no clear answer. My family is currently down to one car, and my wife and I both drive to work, which puts a large amount of miles on our one vehicle. I understand that the vehicle is out of warranty, however, we feel that Hyundai has not take responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction. We initially were grateful that Hyundai was providing the parts, but we feel that no-one should have to wait 3 months for their car to be repaired.

DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!! We’ve had our Palisade for four months. We love the features and ride but had it back to the dealership five times because of excessive winds noise at highway speeds (> 50 mph) noticeable in the front seats. The dealership pressure tested the cabin, replaced door seals, and checked door alignment. Finally, they removed the side view mirrors and determined the whistling sound is wind turbulence from the mirrors after a test drive. The dealership has been great but Hyundai refuses to acknowledge the issue. We opened a case with Hyundai but their case manager said there is no design flaws so there is nothing they can do. I just want a brand new $50K vehicle to act like a $50K vehicle. DO NOT BUY A PALISADE!!!

The worst ever - they never know what is actually owed. They ask for the next months payment in advance of due date. The hold time is ridiculous. Customer service representatives are complete idiots. I will never buy another Hyundai. I think their banking standards are substandard. I question their legitimacy. I believe they are fraudulent. I asked for a statement representing my payment history. It did not match my bank records. I requested it a second time and again it did not reflect what was paid on my bank statements. I asked what the final payoff would be at the end of the lease on 3 separate occasions and got 3 different answers. Avoid Hyundai motor financing at all cost, I will in the near future.

I really regret getting my car from Hyundai. Id be much more content spending more each month on a different car so that I didnt have to deal with Millennium Hyundai. The Service Department is rude. Im seven months pregnant with a toddler. I needed to know if there is a lender car available while my 2012 Sonata is looked at because Im not taking public transportation in the middle of the winter. I dont make car payments each month to take public transportation. The staff was rude when I called and when I asked to speak to the general manager, they claimed that he had just stepped out. I asked that he call me back before 5pm and to no surprise, he never called me back. The manager of the Service Department was not helpful, was impatient and condescending. When I finally did make an appointment, I got called into work that morning at the crack of dawn and couldnt drop the car off. Now, Im receiving emails and phone calls telling me to reschedule. But when I called, they dont answer any of my questions or offer any help. I cannot just drop the car off with a toddler, pregnant, take the bus and make it to work. Its not possible. I need Hyundai to work with me. I am now driving around in a car that stinks of fire and gasoline whenever I turn the heat or defrost on. Mind you, I have children in the car.Never again will I buy/lease from Hyundai and dont get me started on the tire pressure issue. Also, my husband went to the used car sales section of Millennium Hyundai. You would think they could get a name like first, middle, and last; especially since weve already done business with them! They keep calling and sending letters for (middle), (last), (first). Really? I cant wait for this lease to be up so that I can be done with this computer. For me, the consequence is that Im stuck with this car for the next 2.5 years. And for Hyundai, they lost a customer.

My father owned a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. Previously the car had shown multiple failures such as the steering unexpectedly locking or brakes making loud obnoxious sounds. A few days ago my sister and mother had gotten into a car accident. The car had went airborne and went head first and hit a curb. The car is currently totaled and my mother had multiple injuries. The airbags had not opened during the process. This is outrageous and we would seriously like to have this problem solved. Luckily no one was in critical condition, but still this should never happen.

Well car ran great until 55000 miles. Check engine light intermittently coming on and off. Engine sounds like its failing. Took it in under warranty and cant get any Hyundai to be able to repair the failure but as soon as I get it back the failure occurs. They claim to give you the best warranty but in reality its just a piece of paper. They dont actually stand behind it. Purchasing a GoPro now to prove issue and show consumers what a RIP off Hyundai is. Paid 18,000 for a new car that didnt make it past 60000 miles before failure. Dont buy a Hyundai.

I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra For $8999 with 83,000 miles on it in January 2018. Today is March 20, 2018 and the car needs a new engine. They will not replace the engine. I took it to Morrie’s Hyundai to fix and they refused to fix it saying Hyundai corporate refuses to fix the engine because I am 2nd owner of the car that the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Who has allowed them to make and sell cars, take peoples money and not honor the warranty. It’s a crime that needs the law to look at this. I have a car loan on a dead car not even worth enough to trade for another. I want the engine fixed or my money back or at least replace the car.

I bought a 2020 Tuscan Ultimate on Saturday 5/23/2020 from Crain Hyundai Fayetteville and the salesman could not find the navigation SD card and said come back Tuesday and we will have have it for you. I came back on Tuesday and they had one but it didnt fit. He said, I will have to order you one and when you bring your car in for the window tint I will have one. Well took it in last Friday and no SD card. Asked about it and was told they would try and find one if they can. At that point am up set and contact Hyundai directly for one. They give me the navigation company number to call and I did. They were willing to sell me another one. I said no thank you. I want the one I already bought. I called Hyundai consumer affairs back and talked to a case manager named Vanilla and she stated she called the sales manager and he would take care of it and that was all Hyundai was willing to do. 3 week after I bought my Car still no navigation or Blue link due to navigation not working. I filed a Better business bureau claim and got a call from the customer relations manager from the dealership. Found out the SD cad was never ordered and that he personally would make sure it was done. Bottom line Hyundai didnt care and to me it will be the last one I buy. Hope I will get the cars features working one day as they should.

This is not exactly what happened, but more like a what is about the Hyunda
This is not exactly what happened, but more like a what is about the Hyundai Elantra. I have just found this website when I decided to do some searching for Hyundai information, especially the Hyundai Elantras so-called automatic transmission. You see, in July 2010, I was desperately in need of some good transportation for myself and my family, and I decided to take a look at Hyundai. I am embarrassed to say that I bought two Elantras at the same time. Im even more embarrassed to admit that I traded a really nice Impala for them. OK, time to cut through the chase about the Elantra automatic. I have a very strong belief that Hyundai is under geared or lacks adequate gearing for the motors power band. Admittedly, Im no expert and unable to spew out technical jargon on the subject. But shortly after becoming an owner of my two Hyundais, I noticed that there was something very substandard about how these things shifted and accelerated. Ive begun reading other peoples reviews and I believe some of them are describing the very same condition, but maybe a little less technically aware of the actual problem. Its true that the vehicle will upshift during acceleration, putting the motor into a lugging state, if that is possible for a gasoline motor as it is for a diesel motor. Just to reiterate, Im not an expert on the subject but actually would love to hear someones expert opinion on the matter. Anyhow, these people are right such as Della of Omaha, NE - i.e. during normal acceleration. The vehicle shifts, then has very little power and begins to chug and vibrate so you have to punch the accelerator to go back down into the gear you just upshifted from. The condition is somewhat circumvented the more rapidly you accelerate, but soon you may find the RPMs back in that inadequate power range. I dont think this poses a problem for salespeople during a test drive because they know most people are going to punch the accelerator to see how it accelerates, meanwhile not noticing this annoying flaw. Now there is something in the drivers manual about manually downshifting for some situations and I think this can help some, but I think there is a tendency to forget to shift back into high gear. So to me, that makes it questionable about whether or not the vehicle is really automatic shifting, even though it is technically an automatic transmission. Ive heard people saying they went to the dealer experiencing this condition. Im not surprised theyre not acknowledging a problem with the vehicle. After all, they knew about it when they sold it to you. Without quoting right from the warranty, Im pretty sure it says something about vehicle performance that is characteristic to all the vehicles deems it to be normal. I would guess its a car companys right to sell you a crappy car, and the dealers too. It just proves people will do anything for a buck, even to whip out their Motor Trend magazine where it was their car of the year. So how did that happen, are they a creditable magazine? I just think they knew they were building a crappy car and they got people going around saying its great.

In 2006, I bought a used 2004 Hyundai accent automatic from Thrifty Car rental. I had the car checked through by Hyundai and they confirmed it was in perfect shape. About 6 months ago, shifting became very hard and sometimes the transmission would refuse to shift gear even if I had shifted it with the clutch. Problems got worse. I took it to Hyundai for a diagnostic test and was told it needed a new transmission which would cost $3,000.00. As the car is so old, I opted for a used transmission and took it to a shop where my husband had his transmission replaced. By now, it is 3 transmissions later, 1 computer later and the car has been in the 2nd shop for 2 weeks with a highly recommended transmission expert and it is not working. I sent 2 emails to Hyundai last week and never received an answer. I called today, on 9/23/2011, and after some back and forth, I was told that there is no recall and that they could not help me with the car. In the meantime, I checked online and found a lot of people complaining about transmission issues with exactly that 2004 car. Pages and pages, so there obviously is an issue. My son, who is learning to be a car mechanic and therefore has access to information we normal people do not, also found information on major issues with that years transmission. Yet Hyundai insists, there is no campaign on it, so there is nothing wrong on their end. I have been driving Hyundai since 1996 and loved that car, that is why I bought another one in 2004 but that car is proving to be quite a problem. Hyundai is certainly shattering my opinion of them.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata and Ive taken my car to a Hyundai dealership over 6 times. My car started stalling and just shutting down while driving it. Lights in the dash start lighting up and my back lights work sometimes. I keep buying headlights and brake lights. Right today my car is fixed because the dealership said they couldnt find anything wrong with my car. They gave me a loaner car and kept my car for about a month but did nothing to it. I also complained to them that my valves was tapping, but they said its how the car suppose to sound. Its just so much going on with my car but Hyundai dealership dont care about the customers. I just like to have a horrible nightmare story with my Hyundai Sonata 2005 in last 2 years. I desperately need your legal helps, suggestions and comments. On 02/22/2012, My Sonata 2005 just past 70,914 Miles and I was suggested by young guy name ** to change my Timing Belt and etc. I spent $967.43 to let Lehigh Valley, PA Hyundai Service Center done the job. At that point, my car just have a tire issue. After 2 weeks, I hear some noise when I first time start car. I called **. He told me because it’s new belt and Id better to tolerant it. At April, I still hear noise and little bit loud. I call them again. They let me left the car with them several days. They wrote it down as they cant find any problem and adjust timing belt little. They sold me about annual State Inspection package this time. After that, I changed Spark Plug and Engine Oil with top line product myself in the same year. I always use Hyundai Genuine Oil and Air Filters once day one and do this maintenance job myself when I purchased the car as brand new one. I tolerant this problem several months and called them again. They still tell me the same answer. I was so busy for my job and life. I cant always let them keep my car for several days to find nothing. On 04/08/2013 at 88,055 miles, I hear a belt broken sound while I am driving on I-78 and engine is completely shut down. I called them ask for road assistant and was told to paid for towing or solve myself. I managed myself to get their place. They told me that I have to pay myself for the repairs. After several days, they called and informed me that they found the engine was broken. They will cover for these repairs. In last year, I already talk to totally different Manager and Service Reps. They also told me that they had difficult to find replace engine. Until 05/01/2013, I was called for the job done.I changed engine oil with Hyundai Genuine Oil Filter and 5 Gallon Castrol High Mileage 10W40 myself last summer. And I wish I can keep this car for another 5 years. However, I notice in Nov. the oil check light sometimes flashing in an barely occasion while I drive on highway ramp and stop at traffic. Im NOT pay too much attention about this issue. I know if I call them, they will keep my car for several days and find nothing. Thats about their service and skills.Last month of 8th, I try to pull my car from heavy snow in dark evening and the car start as normal and was NOT working after several times back and forth to pull out. With several light on, I can start the car at all. I give up my efforts to drive car out in that evening. I called my job off in second morning and try to start it again. It was OK and out of from the snow. I immediately drive to LV Hyundai Service Center and notice that the engine check light is solid ON while I stop at traffic. They call me afternoon and tell me they cant find any engine oil in my car and the engine is broken again and ask me about engine oil and filter purchase receipts. I usually dont keep these small purchase receipt for my normal life. However, I can show them my a couple of old replacement Hyundai Genuine Oil Filters in my garage. I bring two used filter and one air filter. I argue with them NO CAR should running under engine oil while my gas tank is 80% full. Your engine has a big design defect. You should repair or replace it again under your all your warranty claims and consumer protection laws. I talk to them back and forth several time already. They still refuse to do so. I dont have my car for more than one month. Please help me if you all can. Thank you very much in advance.

I bought my Hyundai Sonata in May 2011 and was happy, until on 15,000 mile service. My tires were rotated and I started to hear a noise. I went to the Hyundai service and told them about the noise. They called me about an hour after I left my car saying that the noise coming from the tires and the reason is lack of rotation. When I asked why lack of rotation will cause this problem, service manager told me that the way suspension set in my Sonata caused chopping of the rear wheels if they are not rotated each 5,000-7,500 miles. So Dear Hyundai! I did drive many other car brands and never was too strict about rotating the tires in time. It never made this type of terrible damage to the tires. I started to check online and realized that Im not alone! Digging a bit more, I understand now that one of the vectors for the rear wheels suspension alignment is static. This is the source of the issue!I contacted Hyundai customer affairs and asked to make exception and replace my 2 noisy tires now so I can drive my new car without this terrible noise. I said that I will not continue to complain about the strict rotation requirement and will do it as they advised in the service from now on. However, I also said that such exception tires handling should be communicated when they do the service or even when they sell the car. When I did my first, 7,500 miles service at Hyundai dealership, they did not offer me the rotation nor advised that I should do it and why it is important.Hyundai customer service answer was that I should not wait for service or Hyundai to tell me that I need to do a rotation but ask the service to make the rotation. Thank you for this advice! Im now on the list of unhappy Hyundai customers and probably will never go for another Hyundai nor let any of my friends to make the same mistake!

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Im persistent with maintenance and was relocating from Wisconsin to Nevada for work, thinking my car only has 40,000 miles so it shouldn’t have any major problems on the way there. Well, get 1000 miles away to Tulsa and the engine completely blew. I was stuck there for 9 days which caused my boyfriend and I to dwindle our savings by $1200 to cover my hotel and food cost. The repair was covered under warranty because there was absolutely no sludge in the engine when it was taken apart and turns out there were several recall parts IN THE ENGINE that needed to be replaced. Well, we finally make it to Las Vegas and I try to file a trip interruption claim and the people at Hyundai told me what to fax to them...so I did and spent $12.00 at UPS to do so. I waited a week and get a call saying that I have to MAIL my documents to the roadside people first before Hyundai will consider the charges. Welp, did that and 2 weeks later, I call roadside and they tell me it takes SEVEN WEEKS TO REVIEW and they can’t see anything in the system until it’s finished being reviewed. So I finally give them the 7 weeks and call in, still not in the system so I was given a fax # to send everything in. 2 weeks later, they approved 300$ because thats their max allowable and Id need to go through Hyundai for the remainder. So... I call Hyundai since they have ALL the documents I sent previously. The girl I talked to assured me it should only take 3 days because I had my case reviewed previously and they just needed the response from roadside to approve it. So... I wait the 3 days, call back and the reviewer still hasn’t even touched my account. 2 weeks and 3 messages to the examiner later - still nothing. So I’m told itll be escalated to his manager and I’ll hear back within a day. Did I? Nope. Talked to a rep this morning who discussed my account with his lead and they both agreed its inexcusable for the examiner to be avoiding my case all together. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai again... my parents and sister both just recently went car shopping and were both considering Hyundais until I went through this...so they just lost 2 customers. Im at my very last straw with them. Theres no reason my engine should have blown at 40,000 miles now theyre just evading paying me back the money that is owed to me.

While driving on highway the engine suddenly stops, all lights on instrument panel came on. Car would not start so had it towed to my mechanics. No diagnostic codes showed up on computer. After he did some research, said this was a known problem, by Hyundai, with the 2.4 L engines. Had it towed to dealership and while there a salesman told me I was the 4th person to bring in a Hyundai vehicle with the same problem. Why isnt Hyundai taking responsibility for this problem? In January of this year (2017) I was on my way home from hockey when my engine failed. I was just turning onto the highway and beginning my acceleration when the engine just about stalled. I was only thankfully doing about 30 km/hr and put the vehicle into neutral and pulled over to the shoulder. I shut the engine off and got under the hood for visual inspection. Upon checking the Oil there was barely any registering on the dipstick (oil is checked during every refuel). Thankfully I carry 2 litres with me at all times. It took both of these to register on dipstick. I turned the engine back on and with no warning lights and smoother running engine, I carried on my way home keeping speeds less than 70 km/hr as the immediate lack of oil concerned me.About 5 minutes from home both engine and oil warning lights came on, and the vehicle was beginning to run rough again. Once home I again checked my oil and this time there was nothing on the dipstick. I left the vehicle in my garage until appointment at my Hyundai dealer. I do my own oil changes every 5,000 km with recommended full synthetic 5w30. The only leak I have ever found was a very small one around oil pan. The dealer inspected and concluded I require a new lower block and that without my receipts they wont honor the warranty.Having done some research online in days between failure and dealer appointment I found multiple accounts of the same failure happening, some within less than a 1,000 kms of having factory dealer oil change done. So when my service informed of no warranty coverage I asked how is that the cause of my failure and others too. Was given a shrug... So the quote for repairs was well beyond my financial means, having lost my job. The dealer had no additional options for me and left me feeling blamed and written off. Then out comes the 1.4 million vehicle recall outlining the possible failure that I experienced in January. I contacted Hyundai Customer service via email April 8, 2017, they responded with a question April 10, I replied and now all I can get is an auto-reply message. I called on April 12, and was told that my VIN falls within the date range affected and that was about it. Asked if I should contact dealer again and was told up to me. I have been without my vehicle since the failure occurred and now without any answers.

I am very disappointed with Hyundai. I purchased a 2015 Sonata sport on September 28 and 17 days later I went thru the car wash and the shark fin came off during the wash and it broke into pieces. I called the dealership and they quoted some ridiculous price for a plastic cover, I couldnt believe it, so next I called Hyundai corporate office to see if it was cover by warranty and was told no and they were sorry to hear about my misfortune and I am simply furious and sad at the same time because the refused to accommodate me in any way with a simple matter after not even having the care for a month. I see that they dont stand by their product and dont care about their customers satisfaction. I would hate to see what happens if I have a major problem. I am sure that that computer board underneath isnt supposed to be exposed but Hyundai could care less I see. So next I guess itll get ruined. I cant believe Hyundai would be so unconcerned and inconsiderate of its customers. I am also sure the fin should just come off in a car wash so it had to be defective before. I will tell all my family and friends that Hyundai is not a honorable company and it does not care for its customers and does not stand by their products. I should have known better when I read the articles about the car fires and they didnt take care of the people in that situation. I dont know why I expected them to give a crap about my issue. I have an appointment with south town Hyundai tomorrow. I dont know why or if I should even keep the appointment because I cant afford their prices. I was so excited about my new car and I actually love it, however this disappointment I have for Hyundai I have right now makes me never again buy or trust Hyundai. Live, learn and research before you buy. DONT BUY HYUNDAI!!!

Issues with the 2015 Sonata and no help from Bluelink or Hyundai - I have a car with 5492 miles and the check engine light comes on. I go to service, they want to take my car for God knows how long. They dont have the part. So I refuse to leave it. I explain to them that driving with a bad VCM is going to cause more problems. They are indifferent. They refuse to reimburse me if I do it. They refuse to help me locate the part. I tell them that it is a safety issue for others around me as well as myself. Again indifference. Snotty attitudes and no solutions other than we will get back to you in three business days which is actually five days. The car is sputtering, dumping fuel and to them it is no big deal. First and last car I will ever buy from them. Oh and my friends 2015 Sonata also had to go to the shop at 2500 miles for a shut valve and when it was repaired was worse than before and the dealership damaged his rear bumper and spoiler and then he had to lose the car for another three days. I can go on and on about how horrible this vehicle is. Do not let the looks fool you, while it may be redesigned and the price tag has gone up it is still a lousy company. And what good is the warranty if they do not stand behind it?

I purchased a brand new 2017 Hyundai Tucson on Nov 29 2018. Right now it only has 14300 kms on it. I was driving down a divided highway 6 in the morning with no one else on it besides myself and my child in the vehicle when my rear window exploded into my car sending glass all over my 2 yr old in his car seat. I was right in front of the Police station when it happened and no one was around... Hyundai says that it came from a impact but since I was the only one on the road there was no way that I could have got hit in the rear window. I took pics and brought the car to the dealership and gave them it to them... THEY NEVER even inspected my vehicle, they just emailed the pics to head office where they said it was from a impact. HOW DO YOU TELL THAT IT WAS FROM A IMPACT WHEN YOU NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR TO SEE. I have called places that repairs windows like speedy glass and they even said that it could be from a short in the defrost in the rear window that caused it to explode. Since this happened I have had no satisfaction with this broken rear windshield... Myself and my child were very startled and no one from Hyundai has even done anything but send a email off. I am so very disgusted in the complete lack of everything. This has to be the worst service I have ever had... They never even offered to look over the car, never offered a loaner to get around in and never even offered to make sure the rear window was sealed up so the snow and rain would not get in.Right now I would never buy a car from Hyundai again. My child is scared to even go near this little toy cars because of the fright. I am even afraid of putting him back into the car because if it is a short in the electrical that caused the window to explode, will cause it to happen again... I hope that this message tells the truth behind the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. All I want is my rear windshield replaced at no cost to me... And I want people to actually look over the problem before they say what caused it. YOU CANT SAY WHAT HAPPENED THROUGH A PIC AND NOT LOOK AT THE PROBLEM ITSELF... I can keep going on about this but I think I made my point. I hope that something gets done with this message.

I purchased a new Hyundai Elantra 1 year ago, drove just over 20,000 highway miles; and already the tires need to be replaced! When I bought the car, all the salesman (Murdock Hyundai in Murray, Utah) could do was say how dependable and reliable everything on the Elantra is now. He was right, except for the tires!

While returning from destination 50 miles from home, we stopped to take a break. My wife noticed that the rear bumper had detached from the right side of the car. I was unable to snap it back in and forced to drive back with it detached. Because of the wind caused from driving, the bumper (made of rubber) tore even more.I brought the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited into the Hyundai dealer in La Quinta. They examined it and took photos, Their position was that it was caused by an outside force and refused to cover it under warranty, I escalated to the Hyundai Southern Regional office. After several days, they contacted me and agreed with the dealer. This is BS because the only damage they saw on the bumper was some missing paint on the underside. I checked it out and there was no paint missing, the surface was smooth, not rough as it would be if it was scraped. The paint was missing because it was not completely painted underneath. I extremely disappointed and would never buy a Hyundai again, I think they are cheaply made. The exterior dents with even a minor bump from a parked car door.

I purchased Hyundai Accent that was a couple of years old and a dull gray. Used car to run back and forth to work. It ran well all in all. We have since given the car to our daughter to use to drive back and forth to college. It is small with better mileage than other vehicles have owned. Some it was a couple years old we were able to get the car at a reasonable cost. Payments were manageable at $250 per month. However, car would not accelerate on hills well. The smaller size made traveling with the family tight sometimes.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.. Have had a ton of recalls that I have had to waste a ton of time at the dealership to get fixed. At little over 100,000 miles my engine started burning not leaking oil.. Brought it to Darcy hyundai in Joliet il... Told me I have to do an oil consumption test which I had to go there 6 more times to find out engine is burning oil.. Every mechanic told me I need a new engine but corporate hyundai even though they have had lawsuits over this make and model engine tells me I have to spend 1000.00 to do more tests... Every week I have to refill oil so there is oil in the engine and few months later catalytic converter goes bad because of the oil burning which car stopped running on the expressway and had to get it towed... 1 problem after another problem... Corporate hyundai tells me Im on my own and the converter costs over 1000.00 even tho the engine in that car was proven in court to be bad and replacing converter would not solve the original problem of the engine burning oil.... Stay away from hyundai or you will regret it.

HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 20
HYUNDAI CANADA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES. Back in November of 2012 I wrote Steve Kelleher a letter stating my sheer dissatisfaction with the water problems I was experiencing with my 2010 Genesis Coupe. These problems became apparent in October 2009, less than 6 months from when I purchased it brand new in May of 2009. I have a multitude of work orders showing evidence of this water leak as well as my diligence in trying to address these issues. To date the sunroof is still leaking and soaking the back interior of my car. HYUNDAI CANADA is refusing to address this leak as the car is now out of warranty. In my letter to Mr. Kelleher I stated the following as well as sending him proof of the work orders: Water running down the back speakers after rain. Leaks soaking the trunk as well as interior back panel and seat. The radio cuts in and out after heavy rain when the car is cold. The air conditioner and fan randomly turn on when both dials are off. Thick frost accumulates on the insides of the windows when cold. Windows fog up in the rain. The car smells musty. Back tail lights leaking.Since then radio cut out when loading CD player, eating my CD and rendering CD player inoperable. Because of a faulty sunroof mechanism the water leaks have caused staining of the interior liner. The interior liner was totally replaced because of extensive water damage. The seals around the back window were replaced springs popping out of the back seat and the leather seat ripping at seams where water was pooling so the backseat was replaced. The passenger window was lifted and reset because it was an entry point for water. The ABS light remained on and was repaired. The passenger window would not close and sporadically after a rain gets stuck. Tail lights leaking both resealed. LeakPro resealed the car (sunroof, mechanisms, drip tray...etc.). Over 1 of water was recently wet-vacuumed out of the trunk. This car has done nothing but leak and after almost 8 years the water leak has not been resolved. Over the years the dealership has tried to address the problems that the water leak has caused but for whatever reason have not addressed the water leak itself. My car is still getting soaked after it rains. The dealership cannot afford to investigate this leak further and submitted a request to Hyundai Canada which was declined. It is time for Hyundai Canada to step up and back their product and their warranty. Because this has been an ongoing problem that has not been resolved since I purchased the car in 2009, the time sensitivity of the warranty should not be a factor.I am a single mom who has recently been reduced to a 4 day work week. I saved for and purchased this car because of Hyundais extended warranty and their reputation of standing behind their product. This car was not cheap and I expected it to last me a very long time. With water damage this car will rust and cause more electrical problems.

I have two Hyundais and we are very pleased with them. However; I am very dissatisfied with Hyundais clandestine practices regarding Blue Link. My credit card was charged for renewal of the Blue Link in the amount of $148.10 on September 17, 2015. I did not receive my statement until October 21, 2015. I called and canceled the subscription but was told that I would only be receiving a prorated credit amount in the amount of ~$120 since I was one month into the subscription. I did not know I had the subscription until I received my card statement. This is clearly unfair and deceiving business practices the kind that the Consumer Affairs Division of the state attorneys office salivates over. I will share this information with the my friends who I shared my high marks of Hyundai with who also purchased Hyundais. With my vehicles, this will account for a total of 9 vehicles sold with my endorsement.

Hyundai treated me with total disregard regarding my disposition fee being extended. I had a hip injury and need a hip replacement. Therefore, it would be foolish to get a new car and not be able to drive it. They were not understanding at all and was only interested in the disposition fee being paid to them. I paid the fee and wrote a letter asking if they would reimburse me the $439.05 until September 2019 when I would be able to drive again and purchase a new car from them at that time. They refused me and showed no compassion or consideration to me at all. It was all about the money they wanted. The whole disposition fee is to repair the car of any problems or cosmetic issues. My car was UNDER 13,500 miles which definitely improves the value of the car. I’m the only one that drove it and it was taken perfect care of. I even had an oil change done on it and filled the car up with gas the day I turned it in. The gentleman at Circle Hyundai said he never saw a car returned that still looked brand new. I will NEVER buy another Hyundai and will be sure to tell my family & friends of the total disregard they gave me. I was never treated so badly by a Corporation in my life. That did it for me and Hyundai.

A lot of people are talking about the big lie Hyundai used to increase sales. I dont know if it came from Korea or the greedy US division came up with it, but I am very disappointed. Like some others, Im not as upset about the mileage as I am about feeling screwed. I work hard for my money and do a lot of research before I purchase a new vehicle. I owned a 2003 Sonata that made me feel they made a quality product. The 2011 Elantra was priced at $18,400 on their website, along with the $1,000 customer loyalty discount. It would be the perfect car for my 16-year-old daughter. When I got to the dealer, theyre in such demand (because of the mileage lie) I had to wait until June when the 2012s came out. Then they tacked on a $1,995 market parity adjustment and customer loyalty discount doesnt apply to the Elantra. So I paid $21,500. I feel like a sap. Every day when I go out to the driveway, I am reminded of how your company took advantage of me. When I took it in for the mileage check for the fuel debit card, I talked to the salesman about turning it in for another car. The dealer (Jenkins of Leesburg, Florida) has a Volkswagen lot next door. My daughter and I agreed to trade it in until we were told it was only worth $12,000. Wow, do I feel screwed? Will I ever buy another Hyundai? What do you think?

I would like to express the way I feel about a recent unpleasant experience
I would like to express the way I feel about a recent unpleasant experience my family and I went through at one of your dealerships in Bogota, Colombia. We were referred to the Hyundai location on at Carrera 34 and 13 Calle in Bogota. We went to get a car for my nephew. The sales lady was **. She asked us for many types of papers including real state proof that I have down there, a person with great credit history, which I use my brother in-law for it. I also offered up 30,000,000 pesos which translates to $15,000 on a car that only costs 56,000,000 pesos which translates to $30,000. We were trying to finance just half of it because I will pay off the car in less than six months. I guess everything was going okay with all the submitted paperwork because Erika asked me to bring 3,000,000 pesos cash and I did, which is equal to $1,650 to set the car aside for us. Now, the finance gentleman, **, even got involved and said that it will be possible for the deal to go through due to all paperwork provided and the amount of money I was giving ($15,000).All of a sudden, I called Javier on 8/16/2012 from the Miami because I had to come back from vacations and he said that we were not approved because my brother-in-law did not have a super credit history, which it is not what he said in the first place. He said that his credit history was good enough plus all the money. Okay, I am not upset that much about whatever reason your company decided not to approve us. I work with customer service for an outstanding company here in the States and no one gives the amazing service we do to our guest. So, yes I was not impressed for a second with your customer service at that location. Now, the issue I have, it is that I gave your company, Hyundai, $1,650 to set the car aside for us. Now, ** said that he has nothing to do with that, which is hurtful. He said he does not work for Hyundai. He works for the finance company. Funny, I met him inside your Hyundai dealership. And now, ** is too busy go to the cashier window and give us our money back. She said she is at an event and she cannot do anything about it. She said that we need to wait over a week to get our deposit back into an account of my family. When have you heard that!? I gave you, Hyundai, cash and I expected it back now! I already got a car today for my nephew with the Dodge in Bogota with no hassles at all! I just need my money back! I would continue to send this email to every dealership in the States and international. Someone needs to clean up dealers/sales teams that are super misleading.

Beware brand new vehicle tire blow out!!!! To make a long story short, I am a car enthusiast and previously a Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, and Volkswagen buyer. After hearing my co-workers speak well about the Hyundai product I decided to give it a try and went well for a few years until a couple of months ago. Just recently accompanied my in-laws to purchase their 2019 Hyundai Sante Fe Limited, shortly after a couple months ago they had a side wall blow out from the right rear tire by simply going down the road without striking any debris or objects on the road with only having 2000 miles on there new car! We were prompted to call the tire manufacture by the dealers service department to find out it was Continental Tires when owners manual stated we were suppose to have Hankook or Kumho tires? Called Continental and AND THEY STATED TIRES DO NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY!!!! I WILL (NEVER) BUY ANY CONTINENTAL TIRES OR A HYUNDAI AGAIN! Due to the fact that manufacturers dont care about consumers safety or welfare, this tire blowout was very similar to the Firestone defective tires back in the day that caused many lives sadly. Basically if Hyundai is putting a tires on there cars that are defective and neither want to take responsibly by making it right for the consumer, frankly its not worth buying!! My In-laws sadly ended up paying for a new tire $258.00 plus install because Continental said their tires have no warranty! I just recently finishing purchasing a new Mazda, and when my in-laws are done with this Hyundai it will be their last!! FYI also you might want to have it in writing on new car tire warranty because this was a lesson learned experience with tires, reason for buying new cars is so that you dont have to be buying parts, tires, or car repair. Hopefully this will help someone in the near future. Thank you for reading.

The people are great when it comes to buying your car. But when it comes to helping fix it it is a nightmare. I got a new engine 3 months ago. They had it for 9 weeks. After 3 months of having it now it is having another issue and no one seems to know how to help other than fixing it. The parts are nowhere to be found and they have NO loaner cars, which I was told at first one wouldnt be given to me because my warranty didnt cover it even though had they done it right in the 9 weeks they had it, I wouldnt be in the position I am right now with NO car. After struggling for 7 weeks last time, they finally gave me a loaner the last 2 or 3 weeks of it all.Now we are at yet another situation where they cant help. This is completely aggravating and disappointing from Gates. I have been with them 7 years and this has been the worst yet. No big issues have happened in the past. My car is a 2014 with 41,000 miles and it shouldnt be where it is now. It has been well maintained and cared for. Before you buy, just know they are great but thats their job when selling. But when it comes to fixing things later on down the road, good luck.

I own a Tucson ix35, I am very happy with the car to the point that I wanted to change my old one for a new Tucson. My disappointment started after I took it to the shop because of a hesitation problem. It was a Friday, at first I was attended adequately. They asked my phone to call me the next day (Saturday) to inform me what the car needed to solve the problem. They never called me until I showed up on Monday in the shop to see what the problem was. They have not even touched the car and they were surprised to see me there, at 3:00 p.m. I received a call telling me that the price was approximately 360 u.s.d because they did not know if other parts were faulty, showing that they have not checked the car professionally and technically to what I said to suspend the work. When I appeared to take my car, the person in charge tried to give me a not convincing explanation for the delay with a not very friendly attitude. After he was asked about report a serious shop is supposed to give the customers before delivering the car, the guy said Do you know what a check up is? and urged me to pay 39 u.s.d. My son was about to react but I signaled to calm down. I did not say a word, paid the bill and left the shop. The car was as dirty as I left (I do not know if they do not have any more the policy of delivering a clean car or simply the 39 dollars I paid are not worth it). Anyways the summary is: I as a customer feel mistreated and I am seriously reconsidering the possibility to buy another Hyundai. Take this information of my bad experience to try to improve the quality of the service. My best regards.

Your roadside assistance is horrific.. I had a flat tire. Could not inflate with your inflate a tire. The tire was tore up because you didnt have spare. Had to call roadside. They never showed up. This was Sunday 2/22/15. I was told they could not tow me to dealership until the following day. If I would have left my car on road it would have been towed per state trooper.. Thank goodness for the kindness of the trooper in Glen Allen, VA. He took my son to merchant tire, dropped him off. His girlfriend had to stay with car and the trooper checked on her. I could not get to the car soon enough and the trooper came back and picked my son up and took him back to care. Thank you so much trooper for your care and concern for my young son and his girlfriend stuck on the side of the road. I have also been on hold for 45 minutes waiting to get thru to Hyundai roadside, no answer yet. So much for your care and concern and this will be reported to 12 news on your side... The customer service rep was very hateful when we got thru the first time, said could not tow to dealership after hours. Bla, bla, bla. Thanks Hyundai for your help. I will be trading my car for another make and model. Goodbye.

Hyundai Motor Finance is not an easy company to work with. We bought our Hyundai and the dealership had superb customer service. Those customer service expectations are obviously not universal when dealing with other entities of Hyundai. We pay our car payments on time every month. The online system did not process our online payment last month even though I got a confirmation number. Hyundai waited 3 weeks before notifying us that they had not received payment. I went online again and paid the payment. I followed up the next morning to verify payment was received. The customer service agent said it had not been. I went online and paid it again per her suggestion. Five days later, Hyundai takes out two payments for the same amount from my checking account. When asked if they could refund, they told me I had to get a letter from the bank, show transaction history, and wait roughly 7 days until the check was cut and sent to me. They can draft accounts but not credit them. I asked if they were going to take care of my late fees. The supervisor said she needed to review the past 3 calls that I had with Hyundai over the last 2 weeks to determine. It may take a few days for someone to get back to me. My complaint is that the customer service reps that I spoke with each time told me different information, and Hyundai does not believe the customer is always right; they believe they are right until proven otherwise, which penalizes the customer. Do not work with Hyundai Motor Finance. They have cost me fees, time, and money from missing hours at work, from having to chase down letters from the bank, only accepting faxed info, not email info and not being able to handle concerns over the phone. All complaints must be in writing.

I leased a Genesis (2016) on 1/1/16. It had numerous electrical problems. The main problem was the dash display would malfunction. It would be blacked out completely, when driving or backing up. Sometimes it would stay on after the car turned off and locked. Other issues: All lights go out in the interior and headlights while driving at night. * Drivers side window would only go up 1 inch or down 1 inch at a time randomly. ** Battery discharge error randomly goes off every 30 seconds. ** Strange sound in back right of car, possible gear malfunction. ** Dash display malfunction. *** Possibly fixed. Did not happen again while I owned the car. ** Never fixed. Could not find the problem or never fixed. I had to file a BBB case under the lemon law of North Carolina. Hyundai fought me the whole way and lost. They had to buy back this car. Communication is horrific with their Consumer Affairs department. They did pay most of my case but still owe me money. Ridiculous I have to keep calling them. They never return my phone calls. Ill never buy a Hyundai again personally. I also plan on sharing my message with anyone so at least they heard my truth before you bought a Hyundai. Just so all know this message is 100% truth and 0% embellishment. Goodluck to all you car shoppers, and be smart!

I have a beautiful Hyundai Tucson sitting in my driveway, towed there from the Dealership who advised my that my engine has failed and will cost $7000 to replace. The car is just a year and a half old. I missed a service therefore Hyundai will not assume any responsibility. I am disgusted that a car as new is this has an engine failure. It hasn’t run out of oil, no warning light came in (until the engine started rattling and I took it to the dealership the next day). Hyundai your customer service is as appalling as the engine in my car. I will be telling everyone to avoid Hyundai at all costs.

Hi, just wanted to share with experience Ive had with Hyundai. I have encountered several issues with my Equus, both with the 2011 and the 2014 models. With the 2011, it was serviced a multitude of times, concluding with the installment of a new compressor. However, the cooling (or lack thereof) issue still remained. When that lease ended, I was assured that the A/C issues with the Equus had been rectified. In good faith, I leased a new 2014 Equus, and much to my dismay, the A/C issues were NOT resolved! So, here I am, AGAIN, in the same exact predicament! Hyundai insists on continuing to deny this problem exists and continues to market inferior products. Any consumer can read the blogs on the internet and clearly see that there is a definite A/C problem with the Hyundai models, including the Equus! Hyundai is lessening their credibility in continuing to deny this issue exists! Hyundai needs to step up to the plate and stop denying that they do not have an A/C problem with this vehicle. They MUST do the right thing. Otherwise, their reputation will be at stake. Recurring customers like me will no longer return, and unfortunately for Hyundai, we will tell others about the poor service and callous treatment we received and of our negative experience.

Got a lemon. 4/26/19 bought a Tucson. Less than 1 week it had to be towed in due to an antifreeze leak. The horn coil insulation was falling off. They fixed the leak but not the coil problem. Then another week passed and the vehicle would not exceed 40 miles per hour. The vehicle was towed in yet again. It has been in the shop over a week now. No one has given me an answer or solution. The paperwork has not been fully processed yet either. I received a renewal from motor vehicle for my old vehicle that I traded in. I received an email from my credit report stating my debt to income ratio was very poor because the new vehicle was added but the old one was not removed. Which means it was not paid off yet. I also received a letter from the credit union about the old vehicle needing extra coverage. I no longer have this vehicle and yet due to lack of submitted paperwork am being hassled.I contacted Hyundai corporation and filed a claim. They were supposed to contact me this week and the week is over and I have heard nothing from anyone. Please save yourself a huge headache and buy a different vehicle. I guess the only way to resolve this is with a lawyer. Sad world we live in. No one seems to care about the consumer.

I was just recently in an accident and I was going 40 miles an hour when the accident occurred and the other lady was going around 30 mph, and at the speeds both of us were going, the airbags in my 2005 Hyundai Elantra did not deploy. How hard does a person have to be hit for the bags to deploy? I think this car is one of the cheapest made cars. I can remember when I got caught in a hell storm, the body on my car was beat up really bad. I wont do Hyundai any car again, I dont care how they look.

I have a defective Santa Fe Sport Turbo 2017 SUV. I had problems with it from day one... just got worse. Has been to 3 dealerships, same problem, loses power when going over a bump or rough surface. Got worse as time went on. Was in shop 6-7 times. Almost got killed in it when engine stopped working driving on 65mph road. Smoke coming out of SUV. Finally diagnosed with a faulty engine off the assembly line... over $17,000 repair. Not even 2 years old, I have a 3 year lease. Asked Hyundai to release me from the lease and take defective car back. Hyundai WONT... expects me to keep defective car. I do not feel safe in the car no matter what at this point. Hyundai wont take defective car back. This is NOT fair or good business. How can they make me keep a DEFECTIVE car???

I am having a huge issue with the quality of service that I am receiving from Hyundai’s service department in Carlsbad. I had an issue with my car on Friday 10/5 around 730 am. I had the car brought to the service department at the dealership by AAA that morning. I received a call from the AAA driver that my car was dropped off at 815. I didn’t hear anything until 2pm from Ulysses that they received my car. He had a second to look at it and maybe it had just run out of gas. I explained that it was having issues prior & when the AAA guy jumped in it did turn on before bogging out so if they could do a diagnostic to the car just to make sure everything else was fine.He asked for my consent to put $20 worth of gas in it and then let me know if it turned on before doing the diagnostic. It has now been 5 days and I have not received one text or call. I called to get an update about the gas, but Ulysses had already left for the day. When I called today I was placed on hold for 13 mins before a rude receptionist told me Ulysses was out for the next two days and won’t be getting to my car. Is this what I can now normally expect from this location? Before moving out here I would take it to the dealership in Corona and they have always given me the best service, quick and communicated great with what was going on. I now feel slight nervous and used leaving my car at a dealer that is so unresponsive and upright rude every time I’ve called.

My wife hit a concrete light pole base. The body damage was about 2500 dollars but the air bag light came on and white powder was in the car which meant the airbag went off but did not deploy the bag. The insurance company said, You need an airbag and any parts needed to repair it right even though it did not deploy to help stop my wife from moving forward. The car is a 2004 Sonata GLS with 66,000 miles on it as of July 5, 2014 the day of the accident. Hyundai said it is out of warranty but I said this is a device that will only work during an accident. They basically said too bad. The cost was over $3000.00 to replace the bag, seat belt and all the bells and whistles that make the bag NOT DEPLOY. The car is a total loss because of the air bag cost and why would I want to install a new bag that may or may not deploy. Hyundai recalled other year air bags like 2003 and 2006 but my 2004 is not included yet I have read many complaints of non--deploying. Do not trust air bags as a safety item and it doesnt matter what car. Use the seat belt and pray, lol. My car is a total loss but a friend wants to buy it as it has 66,000 miles on it and I am anal when it comes to doing everything the dealer wants you to do and when to do it. I will not buy another Hyundai but I do wish it would have made the recall list so if you have this problem report it to NTSD (NATIONAL TRANS SAFETY PLACE NOT SURE OF THE ACRONYM). Thats all folks. Trust no one.

We decided to switch to Ford and turn in our leased Hyundai five months early. We were aware of the $400.00 disposition fee Hyundai. We paid all remaining lease payments, the car had only 19500 miles and was in as new condition. 3 weeks after the transaction, we get a bill from Hyundai for $2,200.00. As it turns out, the residual value is out the window, they took the car to auction and sold it for $1000.00 less. After hours on the phone with Hyundai Finance, we got nowhere. All they said was Its in the contract. Yeah its there but you need a law degree to understand it.Their bill did not include our check for the final 5 payments which they acknowledged receipt, but even gave us a hard time when I ask for a new bill reflecting this payment. It appears we still have to pay them $795.88. Do yourself a favor. Either dont lease a car from any company who charges these fees, or bring your lawyer to when you pick up your car. For our part we will NEVER buy another Hyundai.

GC 2013 3.8 Track (Love Car cant say the same for Company) - On Saturday, A
GC 2013 3.8 Track (Love Car cant say the same for Company) - On Saturday, April 16th, 2016 I went to Balise Hyundai to have my vehicle serviced and to address my concerns about the paint peeling on the front bumper near the hood of the car. I showed the peeling paint to the service advisor Phil ** who took pictures of my front bumper and stated that he would pass them along to the person who handles warranty claims. Phil explained that I would need to come back to Balise Hyundai during the week to have my concerns addressed. It is important to note taking time off during the week was not feasible during that time due to the structure of my current role and the responsibilities it entails. On Wednesday May 11th, 2016 I brought my vehicle to Balise Hyundai and showed the bumper to Bob ** (Service Director) who immediately began to tell me that my warranty didnt cover the damage and that it appeared as if the bumper was painted over or that something had spilled on it and therefore was not Hyundais responsibility to cover. Bob proceeded to take pictures while he instructed his co-worker Stephanie to gather some info on my vehicle. After a few minutes of both Bob and Stephanie examining my vehicle, I asked Stephanie to update me on what was being discussed. She stated that I was not under warranty for paint as my car was three years old. I told her that while my car was a 2013, I did not begin my lease until September of 2013. She then asked me about the mileage which I told her was less than 36,000 miles. Another 5 to 10 minutes of conversation with Bob yielded a plethora of biased assumptions that I found to be quite concerning. Bob ** insinuated I caused the damage to my vehicle. I left Balise Hyundai and then called Hyundai Motor America to report my warranty claim and ask questions. At that point, the integrity of Bob ** was in question and I was concerned that Bob would intentionally fail to submit the warranty claim and tell me it was not covered or submit the claim filled with biased narrative and minimal facts. I spoke with a Genesis representative named Christina (case #**) and she explained to me that she would look into it and contact Balise Hyundai to follow-up. Christina said she would call me back that day to update me however I never received a call. Later that day I was set to travel out of the country for two weeks. On Thursday, May 26th, 2016 I contacted Hyundai Motor America to follow up regarding my warranty claim. I explained that I had not heard from Bob or Stephanie about next steps. On Friday, May 27th, 2016 I received a call from Stephanie who left a voicemail stating that Hyundai wanted me to take my vehicle to the Balise repair shop to get an estimate of the damage. Upon hearing the message left by Stephanie I called her back and was unable to speak to her directly. I left a detailed voicemail inquiring about the arrangement of a specific date/time to bring the car for an estimate. Stephanie never responded to my message. On Saturday, June 4th, 2016 I brought the vehicle to Balise to get the estimate and was told that the repair shop is only open during the week. I spoke with General Manager Brian ** who told me to email him pictures of the paint concerns and that he would get an estimate for me on Monday and send me the quote. (See attached photos) On Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 Brian emailed me stating that a rep is coming today and will see if he approves the work. Estimate is $1,300. On Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 I emailed Brian back and ask him if the rep would be calling me directly to let me know the decision concerning my car. Brian emailed me back informing me that it was decided that my hood would not be covered but that the decision to repaint the bumper hadnt been made yet. On Friday, June 10th, 2016 I emailed Brian to find out how long it would be to determine if my bumper was going to be covered under warranty. He replied back confirming it would be 7 to 10 business days. On Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 I emailed Brian seeking an update on the pending situation. I received no reply. On Wednesday, June 29th, 2016 I receive a voicemail from Bob ** stating that he wanted me to return his call because Consumer Affairs wanted a factory rep to look at my vehicle. He also stated the rep would be at Balise on Thursday (the very next day). I called Bob back to arrange the time for the factory rep to see my vehicle. I explained to Bob that I worked and that he was giving me very short notice. I asked if I could schedule something for Friday or the week after and Bob told me that the Factory rep only comes once a month and that if I didnt come tomorrow (Thursday) it would be next month before another meeting could be arranged. On Thursday, June 30th, 2016 I arrived at Balise at approximately 7:30 am which was the agreed time slot. This time was chosen as it was early enough for business to be handled and ensured Id make it to work on time. The factory rep showed up after 7:30 am and while I sat in the waiting area Bob failed to inform me that the factory rep arrived. At around 7:50 am I went to find Bob to inquire about the factory rep. That is when I was informed that Loi **, Eastern Region District Parts & Service Manager was already looking at my car. When I approached Loi he informed me that he was checking to see if there was any report of an accident concerning my car. After a few minutes, Loi approached me and told me that the bumper damage was going to be covered but not the chipped paint on the hood of the car. I was then instructed to go to the Balise repair shop and schedule a date to have my car brought in for repair. I followed those instructions and spoke with the Collision Repair Manager, Tim **. We agreed to have the bumper painted on July 11th, 2016 and he told me that it would take two days.On Monday, July 11th, 2016 I brought my car to Balise repair. To my surprise, I then had to rent a car from Enterprise because Balise Hyundai stated that they didnt have any loaners. They also informed me that even if they did have loaners, it would cost me. Over the course of two days, it cost me $60 to rent the car from Enterprise. On July 13th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick up my car but was told that it was not ready. I was then left to rent a vehicle for another day. For my inconvenience, Jim ** who works for Balise Collision Repair agreed to cover the rental cost for that day.On July 14th, 2016 I returned to Balise to pick-up my car and was astonished by what I saw. I spoke with Balise Collision Repair Appraiser, Jesse ** about the fact that the color of the bumper that was painted did not match the color of the rest of the vehicle! During my conversation with Jesse, he informed me that prior to beginning the paint job he called over to Bob ** and asked about blending the paint into the hood and the fender to prevent the noticeable color difference. He was told by Bob to only paint the bumper. Jesse explained to me that the color difference was typical with the type of paint on my car and that during most repairs to assure that the color matches the other parts of the car they blend into the other areas. (See attached photos)I havent yet heard about whether or not I will be reimbursed or receive credit towards my monthly payment. When I followed-up with Hyundai Motor Finance about my situation was I essential told sorry for your troubles. You still must pay your monthly bill and if we dont receive payment we will repo your car. It will be auctioned and all accrued expenses will be your responsibility. Moral of this story: Dont buy Hyundai as their Customer Service is horrible and they dont care about loyal customers.

We leased a new 2016 Hyundai in December 2016 and had nothing but trouble with the lease from the very beginning. Our Santa Fe was leased from a dealership in Colorado. We had no trouble on a previous lease but this time the communication between the leasing company and the dealership was horrible. The salesmen on the floor were using filthy language and the finance person didnt send the paperwork and our payment up front in for almost 60 days. Hyundai leasing called us to tell us we were late on our payment when we had not received any paperwork yet to make a payment. We set up payments through our bank and about 14 months later after the finance company did an update on their software they called again to tell us we hadnt paid our payment and our bank had not accepted the payment. We had received a confirmation number on the payment. The finance company was ready to ** us. Then I had them look at the bank info on their end. IT WAS INCORRECT!!! Our account showed no change(?). Again they fixed it and apologized to us. We couldnt wait to bring the lease back this December which by the way, was in EXCELLENT condition and 7,000 miles below what the millage of 30,000 miles. The dealership tried to sell us the car but we just turned it in. They had us sign a paper (which we never got a copy of) and said that was it and we could leave. Today we got a bill telling us we still owed $433.00 to bring the car in at the end of the lease that we were still responsible for the final payment and if there was any damage to car we turned in-we would be billed for that (???) plus a late fee if they didnt get the $433.00 in 15 days. Good grief! I had thought it was OK to drop our auto insurance when we turned it in!! What if they sold the car or were allowing people to test drive it?? We called Hyundai finance and they said it was their bill and not the dealerships. Nothing was said to us when we returned the PERFECT car. This sounds like a legal scam!! This never happened with our first lease. Why this time?? Its not like we have so so credit; it is over 800! This has been so distasteful that we will never go back to Hyundai nor will we consider a lease again. We will make sure to tell everyone we know not to lease from Hyundai. By the way; we immediately paid the $433.00 and got the CONFIRMATION NUMBER however they said it would take them two weeks to get the paperwork to us showing the lease was paid in full. Additionally, they said they couldnt send an email showing the final payment and release of the lease. I will be waiting and watching our bank account because-again-I DO NOT TRUST THEM!! We are not sure if they will do as they told us or will they say the payment didnt go through and bill us a late fee??? VERY unhappy with Hyundai and Hyundai finance.

Three years ago, I purchased a new Hyundai Genesis. Unfortunately, the car veered to the right which make driving difficult and dangerous. When I first brought the car in, the dealer denied a problem. When I returned shortly thereafter, they reluctantly agreed that the car lurched to the right. After a series of trips back and forth to the dealer, the tires were replaced, the alignment was redone, the electronics were revised and the problem persisted. After my 6th or 7th visit, I gave them the car and told them that I would not take it back till the problem was solved. They kept the car for months and were never able to sort it out. Meanwhile, I communicated with corporate Hyundai and they were rude. I finally invoked the lemon law and my money was returned (not the interest that I had been paying Hyundai as they held the loan on the car). Needless to say, whenever I see a Hyundai on the road, I think to myself what a poor sucker is driving that car. I will never buy a Hyundai again.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. Since owning my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, I have had a number of recalls (or as the company likes to call them, ‘campaigns’). The most recent includes FOUR recalls. I took time off of work to get the recalls addressed, and yet, I still keep receiving notices that I need to take the car back in for the same recalls that I got taken care of. When you call customer service all you get is the run around or told that you are being “hostile” when they question you about where the emails are coming from and you tell them you have full command of the English language or “talking over them”. I still can’t use my phone’s bluetooth as the company never updated their system with the newer phones. My navigation system doesn’t know half of the addresses I put in, and the car only has 44,000 miles in 6 years. In addition, I constantly have to put air in my right front tire, regardless of the weather. Now I have to go back because the dealer disengaged the heated seats so I can’t even trade it in until they fix their mistake, and that was after the dealer tried telling me that the recalls had nothing to do with the heated seats (which they then had to reverse course on as the tech had to disconnect the heated seat wires to put the airbag harness on). Hyundai claims in their ads that they make ‘better’ cars. Better for who? Because it DEFINITELY isn’t better or safer for the consumer. I feel that is a misrepresentation of the truth. Save yourself and your wallet! Don’t even look bother. There are other more reputable companies from which to choose from. Honestly, I think the federal government needs to look into the safety of Hyundai’s vehicles.

There has been problems with the suspension on this 2007 Santa Fe since 2010 with very low mileage. It took 5 to 6 visits before the dealer would even admit a problem. Problems with tie rods, lower arm assembly, stabilizer links, lateral arms bilaterally with no resolution of clunking metal to metal sound from front of vehicle. Now that the car is out of warranty supposedly, the dealer conveniently finds the lower arm on the right needs replaced. Hyundai needs to admit to widespread suspension problems without dragging on until out of warranty. I still have 100,000 mile warranty with only 80,600 miles but supposedly, this is not a covered service even though it all started at 48,000 miles.

I bought a Hyundai I20 from Hyundai Culemborg - Cape Town. I took delivery on 30 July 2011.There was a noise coming from the steering and I informed the dealer. The noise got worse as I drove the vehicle.I was told to take my car to another dealer and they told me to take it back to Culemborg to sort out. I was then told to book my car into Milnerton, Cape town, which was inconvenient for me.Something was only done when I took my car into the dealer on Saturday, 10 September and asked for the manager.Eventually, my car was collected on 14 September. I was told it would take a day to sort out.I was then called on 10 September to say the part will only be arriving on 26 September and I would get my car by the 26 or 27 of September.I was offered a replacement car to use in the meantime, but an automatic was delivered. I do not drive automatic so I asked for a replacement which was brought to me.The two left hand doors dont line up either.Surely, a new car should not have these problems. These cars should be checked before arriving at the dealers, and clearly, this vehicle has not been checked correctly.I am paying a lot of money for a new car, which does not seem new. A new car should not need to have a part replaced! I am very dissatisfied with the entire experience of buying a new car at Hyundai. I requested a new car and was told I would not get one.I will be taking this matter further.

While driving at 70 miles an hour on I-87 using cruise control, the car jerked, check engine light came on and the car completely stopped accelerating. There was no response when pressing the gas pedal. Luckily, we were near an exit. We were not rear ended by a truck and were able shift lanes and to roll off and put our hazard lights on. On the exit, the car came to a dead stop. After checking the engine, we turned it off and the car started back up. And we were able to drive to a local service station concerned about driving any farther. The mechanic was able to determine there was an error code related to the throttle control. On restarting the car, the engine lights reset and the car ran normally. We continued on our trip. When we returned home, we brought the car to the Hyundai dealer where it was purchased to service the car. After they examined the car, we were told there was nothing they could do as there were no error codes in memory. They said that we should continue to drive it until it happened again. When I mentioned that there was a technical service bulletin regarding the throttle sensor and it should be either replaced or tested, I was told that they could not do anything until an error was recorded in the memory of the computer. It was because Hyundai USA would not cover anything under warranty, even though this was a serious safety concern and would most likely to occur again. When I asked if it was likely to occur again, I was told most likely it would happen soon and to be careful.A month later, when traveling on a long trip, it happened again on the Taconic State Parkway in New York. I was traveling at about 65 miles per hour. This time there was no shoulder. But I was able to partially pull off the road and put on my hazard lights as cars drove by and avoided hitting mine. Based on my prior experience, I turned the car off and was able to restart and move again. This same situation occurred four (4) more times as I was able to get my car finally back home to the Hyundai dealer to service the car.The Hyundai dealer replaced both the throttle sensor and the pedal assembly. The car appears to be working properly for the last two weeks. Having researched the problem with acceleration, I have learned that many others have experienced this similar and potentially dangerous problem. After speaking with other Hyundai service technicians, I was told off the record that this was not an uncommon problem. As the sensor is less than $85, I am not sure why Hyundai did not address this problem when I first brought the car or as a recall. The consequences could be much more serious.

Got wheel bearings changed at a local mechanic. The part was under warranty. I filed for warranty, requesting reimbursement for $250. I have been asked to get the proof of work done from a Hyundai dealership, which I am in total agreement with. The dealerships are asking me $400-450 for inspection. I am willing to pay that amount, considering that I would be reimbursed for it all. I repeatedly asked Hyundai customer service, whether I would be reimbursed if the dealership confirms that the repair was done. To which, I am being told that they cannot guarantee. Beyond common sense, how this works.

I love my Hyundai Tucson. The interior is as nice as a luxury car interior (comparing to a Lexus and Subaru of comparable size). It is easy to get into and out of but has more ground clearance than a sedan. It is easy to handle in most driving conditions. It sits on an Elantra chassis so in tight curves or with wind, I recommend slowing down. It is Hyundais middle sized SUV, the Kona is smaller and the Santa Fe larger and I believe there is a new SUV that is even larger. This is the perfect size for a single person or a couple, it is probably to small for school age kids in the back. The sound system is very good and the limited comes with heated seats and other nice options.

Bought a 2014 Hyundai Accent hatchback. During the purchase I was upsold extended warranty (BIG mistake $2600). All was fine until snow fell. Bottom of the car, which is covered with what appears to be black cardboard, began peeling off. Apparently driving in the snow is considered reckless driving and not covered by warranty. If you live anywhere there is snow, do not purchase vehicles from countries that do not have such weather. And definitely do not purchase extended warranties!

This is with deep disgust that I am writing this letter to Hyundai. My familys loyalty toward Hyundai started in the year 1999 with the first generation Santro. From there, we have possessed Accent which was bought by my brother, two Verna first generation, etc. and finally we have gone for a Fluidic Verna in the year 2011. I possessed a white Verna SX CRDI ABS, which was the top variant in the year 2008. The reason for top model with ABS was due to the utmost safety concerns. But I had 3 instances of accident with my car which was due to ineffective ABS. This complaint I have raised with The Popular Motor World delegates in Cochin, Kottayam, Muvattupuzha centers in Kerala but they could not help me on the same.I had spent thousands of bucks on service after the other but the result was the same. Now, my car has covered 75,000 kilometers and even last week, I was about to meet with an accident owing to the problem of the ABS. Now, delegates in the service department is suggesting me to change the ABS Sensor. Brand loyalty is exercised by a customer due to various factors among which I believe the most important one is service quality and the ownership the company takes to give customer delight. But now when I turned back, I am surprised to find that passenger car market had given me numerous option to choose from but still I was loyal to Hyundai and all due to that decision I am now having a tough time. None of the brands are built in a day and I strongly believe that quality is not an accident but an outcome of conscious and continuous effort. Please help me to come out of this issue. Thank you.

Just received my 10th recall on this piece of junk. And I expect more. I was actually given a phoney long-winded dissertation of the recall by the east coast Hyundai regional representative who called me to placate me after the 9th recall. He said sometimes the robots do get it wrong. Wtf kind of response is that? Hyundai should declare this car a lemon and offer some kind of compensation to us victims of their horrendous quality control issues.

I purchased a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited - Black with Black Leather Interior with a 5 year warranty or 60,000 miles. I have 10,115 miles on the car. The car is driven by one driver only and no one has ever sat in the back seat. The back bench seat on the top part right under the head rest, the stitching is coming apart and you can see the foam now. Poor quality of thread. I live in Southern California where the weather is not harsh. The outside weather stripping is flopping in the wind on the back passenger door on passenger side. I took the car into be repaired by the Irvine Hyundai dealership and they saw no problems because I have a 5 year Interior Warranty. Well to our surprise the repairs were denied. The Irvine dealership recommended I put in a claim with the headquarters - Hyundai Customer Care Center which I did. The claim came back denied because they said it was caused by an outside environment. This is unacceptable. I have a warranty. I own 3 older Hondas with all leather seats and I have never ever had any problems with thread coming apart. I tried to discuss with my claims manager further and they refuse to talk to me. They told me the claim is final and closed.

I bought a 2016 Rally Edition Veloster, I have had nothing but problems with it. I have already had to take it into a body shop to get the paint fixed twice and I am looking at more work now. I was told by the body shop that it’s not the issue with my paint but the metal underneath being defective. They gave me an estimate of approx $3000 to get this work fixed. Now no one from Hyundai or the dealership wants to help me out. I keep getting the same answer. Very disappointed since this isn’t my first Hyundai. It’s my 5th. So now I have a 2 year old car that is rusting from one end to the other. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it just got towed into the garage for the second time in a year for breaking down.

She could not give me an explanation as to why it says past due when the statement says otherwise. I bought a car from Hyundai in 2018 Of September. I have had this car for not even 7 months. Bought it with 7k miles on it and I’ve never missed a payment and was always a valued customer with my parents always owning one too. So when I bought the vehicle it had no recalls on it, one day I saw something online about recalls so I ran my vin to see if my car was part of the recall and it was and the recall was for the ECM, so I taken my car to Hyundai in Manassas, Virginia and got the recalled fixed. They told me all is good and my car is ready to go.Two weeks later my car goes into limp mode and won’t go over 20 miles a hour, I called the dealership nearest to me and asked them to take my car in and the one I called was Hyundai in Woodbridge, Virginia. They said they would not take me because my car was not purchased there, even though this fell under a warranty recall, so I called Fairfax Hyundai Virginia and they said that I could bring it in. Well I waited 4 hours for a tow truck and it finally got there and we headed to the dealership. I get there and waited 2 more hours for someone to run a test on my car to see what was wrong with it and it came back as I needed a new engine. Being told I need a new engine I was put in a rental car for about 3 months and I waited and waited and called at least once a week for an update. Felt like I couldnt get anything out of them besides, It’s still on back order.Well finally I get a call from the dealership saying I did not need a new engine, and all it was is a wiring harness. So I waited 3 months thinking I was getting a new engine and all I got was a new harness. Well finally I picked up my car that day they called. Returned the rental and I was heading home down I-95 in Virginia going 70 down the interstate my car completely shuts down on me and wouldnt turn back on. So I was able to safely pull over with my niece in the car with me, I got to the side of the road and called them again to explain what happen. Well they asked if I could bring it back in so I did. My car then stalled out and went into limp mode 8 more times on my way 45 minutes back to the dealership.I drop the car off and the dealership ran it over the weekend and I get a call back on a Monday and they tell me they couldnt find the problem and nothing was wrong with the car. I get back in my car look at the mileage and it was exactly the same from when I brought it in, knowing that I am now mad. My wife and I with a baby in the car refuses to drive the car and I’ve had it parked at our house. After contacting Hyundai America and speaking with someone named Anthony I asked nicely for them to take this death trap away from me and he said that he would do a case for me and he would keep me updated. Well that was 2 weeks ago today, I still havent heard from him and I’ve called multiple times a day for a long time and it goes straight to voicemail. I’ve left countless voicemails and still no response. I personally would never recommend Hyundai to even my worst enemy after the experience I have had with you all and I will never own another in my life.

On 8/8/2017 my Hyundai Elantra vehicle started clunking as a way getting on to the highway. After pulling over, I saw a huge puddle of oil that was leaking out of my vehicle. After having it towed and inspected I was told that something let loose in the engine and blew a hole right through. This was after only going through a puddle but then having all parts affect cleaned out. A week later this is what happens. I have never owned a vehicle where the engine had to be replaced so quickly. It is only a 2015 with 109,000 miles approximately. I had a previous 2010 Hyundai that surpassed that mileage. I believe that something is defective in the way they have made these engines in newer year models. Everyone should be aware of this before purchasing because I am now spending thousands of dollars after only 2 years of owning the vehicle on top of being stuck with a significant amount due on my car loan.

I bought a Hyundai Elantra in 2007 with a three year warranty. Within the first two weeks, the indicator switch had to be replaced. This happened again over a period of a year and now that the warranty has expired, the indicator only works manually.Approximately 8 months after purchasing the vehicle, we heard a grinding rear noise, especially when reversing. It was very noticeable. I am an Estate Agent and it was embarrassing. The local mechanics examined the car and after saying that they knew exactly what they were doing, replaced the rear disk pads and callipurs, etc. with the approval of head office. A week later, the noise was back. I took it to the local supplier but they could not find the fault. My husband kept on saying that they should look at the release bearing and they ignored it. The car was eventually taken to Johannesburg, and a week later, I was informed that it was the release bearing. Remember, this was over a period of a year. They replaced the release bearing just before the warranty expired. All was fine for a few months and then we heard a noise in the engine. I took it in and was told that the valve lifters had to be replaced at a cost of $4,200.00. I phoned head office but they replied that it was out of warranty and not their problem anymore. The day we collected the car, we noticed that the noise had not disappeared. Fortunately, our car was at the wash bay when the workshop exploded (not so sure it was fortunate). The mechanic who released the car to us admitted that there was a noise, but seeing that they had no equipment, nothing could be done about it at that stage. When they arranged for an alternative workshop and the proper equipment, I took the car in. To my utter amazement, they phoned me a day later to tell me that the oil pump, timing chain, and tensioner had to be replaced at a cost of $10,000. Fix one thing and another one appears. What guarantee do I have that this will be the end of my woes and that the problem has been diagnosed properly? I spoke to the Manager, Ben, and told him that I wanted a second opinion and that I would take the car to Bloemfontein. He agreed with me and told me that a car with 70,000 km on the clock should not have all these problems and that I should take it further. I was really excited when I received my brand new car but now, I feel like setting it alight. My husband is so frustrated that he just wants to get rid of the car. We listened to an engine of a similar Elantra - what a difference. My brother in law had an Elantra which clocked 600,000 km and it hardly ever had any problems and that is one of the reasons why we bought one.Let me just say that the local supplier and his staff had always been helpful and friendly, but they can only help to a point and after that they have to abide by Imperials Rules. I will not stop until something is done about it.I appeal to you. Please see what you can do for me.

Hyundai Palisade vehicles (2020-21) have a defect with a windshield causing them to crack from minimal impact and sometimes no impact at all. There are many reports of this all over the web. Hyundai however is refusing any assistance to consumers and denying that there is any issue at all. My windshield cracked and had to be replaced when the car had just 500 and it didnt even get hit. It was a detail shop getting cleaned, etc.. Hyundai should step and start taking responsibility plus reimbursing owners who already needed to have their windshields replaced and also offer free replacements for OEM glass going forward for many reasons:1. Hyundai and Kia are related companies. Palisade and Telluride are related vehicles. Telluride has exactly same complaints regarding the windshield and Kia sent letters to all the owners saying this issue is being looked into and in the meantime offering free replacement and/or reimbursement if the windshield has to be replaced. Why isnt Hyundai doing the same?2. Almost every single complaint on the NHTSA website is about the windshield. There are over 85. This is not a coincidence! See: **3. I am sure you are also aware that there is a class action lawsuit about this same windshield issue. Again not a coincidence. There is a reason why there is a lawsuit.Hyundai should do the RIGHT thing just like KIA is doing and reimburse owners for windshield replacements especially when they are cracking WITHOUT even being hit by anything. That is a defect in your product!

My daughters 2012 Tuscon (ix35) has just been diagnosed as needing a new motor despite having been Hyundai serviced at every specified interval. Car has traveled only 101,000 kms or 60,000 miles. Reading all other reviews it seems Hyundai have the same game plan outside of Australia too. They refer you to customer care, a young person who claims no car knowledge and simply contacts the dealer to contact the customer and of course they dont and so the cycle continues until you get sick of their game. North Korea has the little rocket man, but South Korea has a secret weapon called Hyundai. No thanks to customer care in Sydney and no thanks to Blood Hyundai in Geelong,Victoria.Dealer promised my heartbroken daughter an email on how much it would cost to replace engine. We have heard nothing. It took me 1 call to a Hyundai wrecker- $4900 to supply & fit used motor and internet research found another owner same car same problem quoted $8 to 14k. 2 lessons learnt here, first dont get car serviced at dealerships and no more foreign made cars. I own 2 Ford Falcons, an 07 ute with over 300k drives like new and a US 63 Falcon with original engine and tranny 56 years old and still in use. Hyundai do not touch them. Its just a matter of time.

I just leased a new Sonata. And after the deal was final and I took possession of the car. 6 days later, I was contacted by Hyundai finance (Kevin) at the dealership. I was told I needed to come back in because they made a mistake with the bank rate and the residual was too low. I was told my payment was going to go down 5 dollars and the residual was going to go up 2700. I was also told once I got to the dealer that I was entitled to a Platinum Bram Auto Protection plan for the length of my lease. When I asked why I was getting this I was told for the inconvenience and its just how the new numbers work out. After signing the NEW contract, I was called yet again 5 days later to come back to the dealer, that there was a mistake made again, and they did not take into consideration the 21M miles that I originally needed and had in the deal. When I went back the finance guy and the GM had me in the finance room and I was told they need to either raise my payment, or take away the miles and the protection plan. I said I already have a signed contract, plates, keys... Etc. for 2 weeks. He told me if I did not sign, I would not get a payment book and it would be like I have a stolen vehicle.I left the dealership in complete despair. I have never been strong armed and treated like this. I told him, he was threatening me and that I have a legal contract. He said, Go see your lawyer, that contract is void. In February 2010, I bought a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring from a RT.44 Hyundai dealership in Raynham, Massachusetts. I was very pleased with the vehicle, still am. Here is the issue: About a week ago, I came out to the Touring and noticed that the passenger side front bumper cover was just hanging on and was no longer attached to the fender. I looked to see why it wasnt attached and saw that the tab from the bumper cover that secures it to the fender on the inside had completely sheared off from the inside of the bumper cover. It was not broken, chipped, or cracked it was sheared completely off in a straight line the whole tab. I had an oil change scheduled the next day with RT.44 Hyundai. When I arrived, I informed my service adviser about the bumper problem.Later when I went to pick the vehicle up, I was informed by the service adviser that RT.44 Hyundai would not cover the replacement of the bumper cover due to the fact that the mechanic found two hairline scratches that never even broke through the clear coat on that side of the bumper cover. These scratches that I had never seen before where so small and light they look like it was made by a tree branch or something and would buff out with compound and a towel. There was no other damage around the surrounding area at all. This was the reason they stated why they would not cover it under the warranty. I then asked to speak to a service manager and brought him out to see the vehicle and showed him the bumper cover. When we walked out to the vehicle, it was drizzling rain and I showed him the cover and let him look it over. He never once mentioned even seeing any scratches around the area. He wasnt made aware of them until we went back inside and he brought my information up on his computer and saw what the mechanic had written. He then stated it would cost me in excess of $1,000 to have the bumper replaced. Im a single mother and do not have the financial resources to lay out that kind of money.I then sent an email to Consumer Affairs of Hyundai of America and was instructed by them to bring my vehicle to another Hyundai dealership for them to look at it. I brought the vehicle to another Hyundai dealer (the closest being 20 miles away). They put the vehicle on the lift and validated everything I was stating on a work order, that no damage was found to cause that bumper tab to snap off the way it did. So now with this in hand, I felt pretty good about my chances of getting the bumper cover replaced under warranty. I contacted Consumer Affairs again and told them of the outcome and that I had gotten a work order from that dealership confirming everything I was stating. The T2 supervisor from Consumer Affairs then told me I would have to go back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and rehash it out with them as she stated they had no authority to tell a dealership to honor the warranty. I had done everything they asked me to do at my expense just to have them tell me that I would have to argue with the original dealership over it again. I have kept all the emails correspondences with Consumer Affairs of Hyundai and the work order from the other dealership. So as of today, Im driving around with my front bumper cover held on by tape. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I was not satisfied with this answer, so I called to complaint line at Hyundai with no better results. My car is now using a quart of oil every 1400 miles. It will soon be out of warranty. I currently own this 2015 Sonata limited and have seen very little of it lately. I purchased this car in October 2015. After around seven months of ownership, my battery went dead. I called service. They jump the car and figured that was the end of the problem since it was a very cold morning. A few days later the same thing happened again. Called the service. They jump the car. This time I drove it to Star Hyundai service. The manager at that time, Mike told me that there was nothing wrong with the battery and they were not replacing it. This was after two hours of trying to diagnose the problem. He tell me if it happens again I should have the car towed in. That is exactly what I did a few days later. He still refused to admit that there was something wrong with the battery. I then contacted the dealer whom I bought the car from who put the screws to him and he finally changed the battery. I thought this was the end of the problem. Wrong! This problem has repeated itself several times over the last few months. I have had three new batteries since the original battery put in to this car. I only have around 16,000 miles on the car. After the issue had escalated I contacted their customer care department. I was given a case number and a really horrible case worker. He never answered his phone, was very slow to get back to me. Kyle **. They advertise great customer service. HORRIBLE!!! I was forced to hire a lemon law lawyer. My car is presently in the shop going on 26 days. They could not find the reason for the battery failure. Fortunately for me, I was given a loaner. Now I am just waiting to see what they are going to do as far as replacing the car or offering me a buyback. I certainly dont want a replacement. This was my first and my last Hyundai purchase.

I purchased three Hyundai vehicles in less than 12 months. The third vehicle I purchased was the 2013 Hyundai Tucson. This vehicle has went to the shop for repairs from July to Today, September 16 for transmission problems. After replacing the transmission on August 13th, I had to tow it to dealer because I broke down on Sunday, September 14, 2014. This was the 4th visit to the dealer since the initial complaint in July. Wow to my surprise I was told at Hyundai Plaza Mall Service that it was the driving of the vehicle that made the axle jump out of the transmission. I or someone was throwing the vehicle in park, reverse without coming to a stop. I cant figure out if that was my driving behavior. Why did not this occur on the other cars I had bought from there? I give their service a thumbs down and I have definitely lost all trust in the Hyundai brand.

I slid off the road and called roadside assistance. I had been pulled out about a month ago, also. This time they said they would not pay for being pulled out. We have had a severe winter and have had a lot of ice and snow. On the Hyundai advertising it says, 5 years unlimited roadside assistance, with 24/7, 365 day service. The roadside assistance representative said they recently changed their rules. (Almost a year after I purchased my 2013 Sonata) I talked to representative **. She never told me what rule they changed. I told her they couldnt change the rules retroactively. She said they could and did so. She referred me to the towing service subcontractors. (Cross Country Motor Club) The motor club informed me that the car had to be less than 10 feet from the road, to be pulled back onto the road. I asked him who made that new rule and they could not tell me that. I told them that if a car slid into the ditch, it would be 10 feet from the highway 90% of the time, and that would make roadside assistance unusable 90% of the time. I threatened to go public to the internet and also press a possible lawsuit. My car is well within the 10-foot rule. They still refused. I’m handicapped and a senior citizen. The roadside assistance was a major reason why I purchased the car. Now, Hyundai is going back on their word. I started to call my dealer and before I could talk to him, a towing company called and said they would be at my place within 2 hours. I called the towing company and asked if Hyundai was paying for it and they said yes. Hyundai previously said they would call to get me help, but I would be charged $170.00. I dont think that any customer should put up with a company that treats its customer in the above manner.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Accent which I bought April 1st 2011. Since I bought it, I have had issues with the rubber around the outside of the windshield, which started coming off 2 months after I bought it. I have had to get it fixed twice. The first time they glued it back, it came off again. The second time, they replaced the whole piece. Now December 2011, it is coming off again! Im going on my third time. Then in August, I found out that it came misaligned from the factory and the dealers solution was to put a shim so they could go in and align it properly, that took 2 months to fix and now my tires are warped because of it! By the way, Im still waiting for new tires and it is now December! I spoke to the dealership in order to look at my options, because I no longer want this car. I dont want to deal with the hassle of repeated maintenance (its a brand new car!) and the solution to my lemon is to trade it in so they can squeeze more money out of me for a car that Ive had for 8 months! This was my first brand new car ever. How disappointing. My old 98 Ford Escort gave me less trouble than this. 5 times to get your brand new car fixed in the span of 8 months! What a mistake. Never again!

I would Strongly recommend not to buy Hyundai car, Especially PUSH BUTTON start. I am having I20 and facing a lot of trouble with the push button system. The car doesnt starts for hours. You will have to wait in traffic for hours to start the car again if turned off on lights. Very poor after sale service. Hyundai doesnt have solution to this problem yet. I have been struggling from past 2 years. The attitude of Hyundai Service Managers is very irresponsible. Faced a lot of harassment. In-fact being a loyal Hyundai customer from past 10 years I would rate 0.01 out of 5. No Initiatives, no responses from Hyundai in this regard. I repeat NEVER BUY HYUNDAI PUSH BUTTON CARS. For details you may contact **.

I have a 2007 Elantra. First, I had to replace the rack and onion at 75000 miles, which is highly unusual for a vehicle. Of course it was just 10k over mileage to be under the warranty. The certified Hyundai dealer told me this was the problem and I had it replaced but the steering still felt sloppy and I made them keep looking. When they finally looked at it they realized the bearings in the steering shaft were worn. They were going to charge me for this but I told them I just paid 1200 for a fix I may not have needed and the dealer did not charge. When I came in to pick up the car the dealer as Lee said they would cover it under the power train -- I still havent figured out how the steering column is covered and the rack was not. I also reported this to Consumer Affairs and they listened but didnt do anything to make it right. Now the car has 85,000 miles on it and it has stalled out when Im going slow or idling. Its happened about 4 times in 6 months and it is very dangerous because its so random. I hate my Hyundai and will never buy another one. Its a great warranty on a piece of junk.

In my family we previously purchased 6 Hyundai vehicles (2006-through 2012). We didnt have a lot of trouble with the first six and we usually traded before the mileage was high. But the last two vehicles have been a nightmare; tires wearing quickly and unevenly even after proper maintenance, 2013 sounds like a truck even though its an Accent etc. During this time we were notified of the great mileage reimbursement program that requires you to jump through hoops to certify, re-certify.... The last straw if you can believe it - one of my cars was repossessed by Hyundai Finance. They claimed they havent received our payments. When both of our banks show that they have received the money for months. Now we have to have our banks go after Hyundai Finance, sign affidavits and try to clear our credit. At this point, they can keep the car, just give me my money (Hyundai Capital Finance).
