2026 BMW M5 Touring

The 2026 BMW M5 Touring represents a rare and exhilarating blend of high-performance engineering and everyday practicality. It takes the potent foundation of the BMW M5 — known for explosive acceleration, razor-sharp handling, and executive luxury — and packages it into a sport-oriented wagon body style. For drivers who want supercar-caliber performance without sacrificing cargo space, rear-seat usability, and touring comfort, the M5 Touring delivers a compelling and unique experience in the performance vehicle landscape.

The M5 Touring is crafted for those who refuse to choose between dynamic driving excitement and practical versatility.

Design & Exterior Identity

The exterior of the 2026 BMW M5 Touring strikes a distinctive balance between performance aggression and functional elegance:

Wide, assertive stance: A broader track and muscular wheel arches signal performance intent while accommodating wider tires for grip and control.

Sleek wagon silhouette: The extended roofline and larger cargo opening give the Touring its practical identity without diluting the sporty proportions.

M-specific details: Aggressive front air intakes, sculpted side skirts, a bold rear diffuser, and quad exhaust outlets communicate the car’s performance DNA.

Aerodynamic enhancements: Carefully integrated spoilers and body contours help manage airflow and reduce lift at higher speeds, contributing to stability.

Visually, the M5 Touring maintains the refined aesthetics expected of a premium BMW while broadcasting its performance capabilities.

Powertrain & Performance

At the heart of the 2026 M5 Touring lies a high-output engine and advanced drivetrain engineered for dynamic excellence:

Potent high-performance engine: A powerful turbocharged engine delivers abundant horsepower and torque, providing exhilarating acceleration across the rev range and confident power delivery in everyday use.

Sophisticated automatic transmission: A performance-oriented automatic gearbox provides rapid, seamless gear changes, enabling both nippy off-the-line throttle response and smooth highway cruising.

All-wheel drive dynamics: Intelligent all-wheel drive helps maximize traction and stability in various conditions while enhancing cornering confidence.

The result is supercar-like responsiveness and acceleration, yet with the smooth ease expected from a touring-capable vehicle.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

The 2026 M5 Touring’s chassis and suspension are tuned for sporty engagement without sacrificing comfort:

M-tuned adaptive suspension: A versatile suspension setup balances firmness for dynamic handling and compliance for daily comfort, adapting to driving style and road conditions.

Precise steering: Steering is communicative and direct, supporting driver confidence at low speeds and high speeds alike.

Performance braking system: Large, capable brakes deliver consistent stopping power and fade resistance, even under repeated hard use.

Chassis poise: Suspension geometry and tuning minimize body roll and support confident entry and exit through corners, while advanced stability systems assist without intruding on engagement.

The Touring remains agile and composed, even when the cargo area is in use, preserving the M5’s athletic character.

Interior Comfort & Practicality

Inside the 2026 M5 Touring, performance cues and premium comfort combine with everyday utility:

Sport seats with bolstering: Drive-oriented seats offer strong lateral support during spirited driving, while remaining comfortable for long journeys and daily travel.

Premium materials: High-quality leather, soft-touch surfaces, and refined trim elevate the cabin, striking a balance between performance focus and executive luxury.

Driver-centric layout: The cockpit puts key controls and performance data within easy reach, reinforcing connection between driver and machine.

Spacious cargo area: The touring body style provides generous cargo capacity, making it practical for luggage, gear, and everyday hauling — a significant advantage over traditional performance sedans.

In the M5 Touring, comfort and performance share the spotlight without compromise.

Technology & Connectivity

The 2026 BMW M5 Touring integrates modern technology to support convenience, safety, and performance feedback:

Digital driver display: A configurable digital cluster offers key performance data, driving information, navigation, and vehicle status in a clear layout.

Central infotainment system: A responsive touchscreen interface manages navigation, media, climate control, and vehicle settings, with intuitive menus and smart connectivity.

Smartphone integration: Wireless smartphone compatibility enables seamless access to calls, music, maps, and apps.

Performance feedback tools: Driver displays and interfaces provide detailed performance metrics such as acceleration, torque distribution, and driving mode configurations.

Technology in the M5 Touring enhances everyday usability and performance insight without overwhelming the driving experience.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 M5 Touring includes an extensive suite of safety and assistance features designed to boost confidence and reduce driver workload:

Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain safe following distances and speed during long highway trips.

Lane-keeping systems: Support stability and positioning on sustained drives.

Automatic emergency braking: Adds mitigation support during sudden slowdowns.

Blind-spot monitoring: Enhances awareness during lane changes and in dense traffic situations.

Safety technologies operate seamlessly in the background, supporting both relaxed cruising and performance-oriented driving.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW M5 Touring

Supercar-level performance in a practical package: Explosive power and dynamic tuning make it thrilling to drive.

Versatile utility: Wagon cargo capacity and rear-seat space make it suitable for families and gear-centric lifestyles.

Premium interior: High-quality materials and technology create a refined, comfortable cabin.

Balanced dynamics: Suspension and steering tuning deliver precision and comfort in equal measure.

All-weather confidence: Performance-oriented all-wheel drive enhances traction and stability in varied conditions.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Ride firmness: Performance suspension tuning can feel firm compared with comfort-biased wagons or sedans over rough surfaces.

Fuel consumption: Powerful engines and dynamic driving can result in higher fuel use compared with mainstream wagons.

Premium ownership costs: Insurance, maintenance, and tires reflect the performance and luxury positioning.

Performance focus: While practical, its greatest appeal is to drivers who value sporty dynamics and handling in everyday use.

Who the 2026 BMW M5 Touring Is Best For

The 2026 BMW M5 Touring is ideal for drivers who:

Want supercar-like performance in a vehicle with practical cargo capacity.

Appreciate dynamic handling and sharp steering alongside everyday utility.

Value premium interior materials and modern technology.

Need a vehicle that performs well in the city, on highways, and on open back roads.

Prefer a combination of executive luxury and driver-engaged performance.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW M5 Touring delivers a rare and compelling blend of high performance, everyday practicality, and premium refinement. It offers explosive acceleration, confident handling, and generous cargo space in a versatile wagon form — making it a standout choice for drivers who demand both dynamic excitement and real-world usability. Whether used for daily commuting, weekend adventures, or spirited driving on winding roads, the M5 Touring combines supercar capability with practical living-ready versatility — a package that few vehicles in the performance segment can match.

I have bought a BMW 7 Series in May 2009. I had horrible experience with the car and the services. Till now the car has gone for servicing more than 15 times (which is too much as compared to an Audi & Merc.). The gear box has failed twice. Had to change all the 4 tires twice. The mileage is horrible. It shows a regular transmission failure issue. Battery had to be replaced. The car hasnt traveled more than 55000 kms. I strongly recommend not to buy this car. After paying such a huge amount I felt cheated.

Never buy from Visalia BMW. I have purchased 3 BMW in the last three years and many BMW in the past. My 750Li just lost an engine with 4 months left on lease. BMW did not do anything financial to assist. No payments!!! The vehicle had 30k miles. They put a reman engine in. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BMW EVER AGAIN. The dealer said there hands were tied and they could not do anything. All this could have been resolved for less than $4,000.00. BMW Corporate would not do anything.

We purchased a CPO X50i from BMW about 14 months ago. Out of the 14 months, the vehicle has spent about 9 months in the dealership getting repaired. We’ve dealt with the typical drivetrain malfunction issues, which seems BMW techs aren’t well trained on how to fix. Each time that the vehicle would be picked up from service, within the day the same or new issue would occur. We even tried going to a different BMW dealership to see if we had better luck and my service advisor advised that I get rid of the car and there wasn’t anything else they can do. I finally contacted BMW North America and opened up a PUMA case. They claim to give me an update every week, yet I never get any updates. Bring the vehicle is t financed through BMW financial, we’ve been stuck having to make payments for a vehicle that isn’t in any operating conditions. In fact, twice the vehicle had heavy smoke and started to heat up, where the smoke was going into the cabin. I was driving with my son, who was scared for his life as we thought the vehicle was about to catch on fire. Being we were driving on the highway, it would be some time till I could pull over to safety. BMW NA asked us for our financials and contract for the vehicle purchase, but nothing has been done. We have officially been consistently in a loaner for over 5 months. I’m sick of it, it’s not fair to us, yet we have to pay the price. We have a 2016 Mercedes S550 and it’s our 3rd one, and no issues. We also had a 2012 BMW 750 and similar issues. I’m giving BMW 2 weeks to make this right.

I filed for bankruptcy on the 7th of July, 2010. BMW financial services was not listed. I kept the vehicle (certified used, finance purchase in 2007) and continued my monthly payments as per contract which was signed when I purchased the vehicle. After a year out of bankruptcy, this August 2011, I was informed that I do not have any grace period. I have written to BMW and the reply was, the contract can not be changed because of bankruptcy. I am not asking to change the due date which is the 28th of each month, the 8 or 10 days grace period is in question of which I had the advantage of, before and after bankruptcy which helped me to meet my monthly payment. BMW has taken away this grace period. This is terrible in these days when the economy (lack of jobs) is a bad shape. I just have merely a year to pay off on the vehicle. Does BMW care about good customer relationship as they can re-posses the vehicle and sell vehicles more than the owed balance?

Got a flat on tires designed to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didnt know I didnt have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didnt, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but thats the way it is, and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didnt have insurance. THIS IS MY 4th BMW (all had spares). THIS IS MY LAST BMW.

We bought a used 2007 550I from Momentum Southwest Houston BMW. It were all lies from the start. The salesman tells us the car has to have special tires, which were on the car and they installed 2 of them. On the test drive, the salesman would not show us how to use the paddle shifters SMG 6 speed. After 6 weeks of begging for a manual and spare key, we finally got a manual and key which we had to pay for. The paddle shifters do not work, as well as the driver seat thigh support motor. One cold 40 degree morning, the check engine light comes on. When my wife got home, I put my scan tool on it. The thermostat is bad stuck open and we took it to dealer as we bought warranty. The warranty company says it does not cover all pre-existing conditions. I talked to the GM at the dealer and they offered to replace the seat motor and repair the paddle shifters for free. While it was there, they call and tell us that all front and rear control arms are bad and needed to be replaced. With an alignment of roughly $2100, I told them Ill take care of the thermostat and suspension. I install lift kits in trucks for a living, and the parts for MOOG are cheaper, but the dealer wants $1800 for parts. MOOG parts at retail are $249.00, I can do the math. We can take it back there for alignment if they dont try to jerk us around for something else. I wont probably buy another one. What a **. We drive off the lot, it depreciates and needs $5000.00 worth of repairs before we get it home.

In a period of last 12 months, my 2010 BMW X5 has had the following failures, which leads me to believe either that BMW has no quality in their products or this SUV is just a lemon. 1. Check Engine Light - Radiator replaced in Jan 2014. 2. Car slows down in the middle of the road and stops - Fuel pump bushings replaced in Aug 2014. 3. AC stops working - AC leak Schraeder valve- Aug 14 4. Thrust rod replaced - Aug 14 5. Check engine light on - Oil leak from Oil Filter Housing - Nov 146. High pitched noise from the hood - Crank Case Vent system - Dec 14Called BMW for the last problem today and they just washed their hands off. Leads me to believe that they dont stand behind their product. Buyers beware. Do your research before you buy. There is certainly no driving experience here. It is the fear of your car stalling at any time.

I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. This car owes me nothing! It has served me well and I have no indication that its getting tired.

We bought a car two years ago from a local BMW dealer. Apparently, a class action had been filed for this particular car (a 2000 228CI) for sub-frame tearing. In their settlement, they only notified their first owners. This year, we ended up with sub-frame tearing. The cost of repair was $6000. We want this covered. They offered to cover $1000 if we promised to never sue them. We have signed nothing. We would like an attorney to contact us about the complaint and we would like to have the full cost of repairs covered as this is a safety issue. We have pictures and the original part. Sub-frame tearing? SUB-FRAME tearing? I had never even heard of this!

It sounds like a tractor and it drives like one. Engine is struggeling under 3000 rpm and above it, the vibrations are so severe that you will think twice about driving above 60 miles per hour for extended periods of time. The Rotax engine is the worst engine I have ever driven. Good for your lawnmower but that,s it. And, in my opinion, not worthy of the BMW badge.Pro,s: it is reliable, cheap to maintain, and easy to handle.

I have a 2014 BMW 750iL Xdrive. When I come to a slow stop the car starts jerking in the last few seconds before stopping. If I take my foot off of the brake without stepping on the gas, it will jerk again for a few seconds until it get a little speed. I say slow stop above because it does not jerk when I come to a faster stop. I usually drive in Comfort+ mode with the auto Start Stop engine engine turned off. I have taken the car in several times now and still have the problem, and they seem to not have a clue what could be causing this. Never had this issue with any other car I have ever driven! BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. BMW, IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND WE END UP IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

I bought 2003 BMW X5 with 82,200 miles from a dealer in the U.S. in September 2011. That was my first time of owning a BMW. Actually, I was excited for buying such a prestigious car. Just after one month of owning the car, I have spent close to $2,000 in repairs related to the front suspension. A service advisor at the dealer, where I sent my car, told me that the engine had to be repaired because it was leaking and that would cost about $3,000. The steering wheel has to be repaired as well. I experienced jerking when the car was changing from the third gear just recently, and I took it to the same BMW dealer. They say that the transmission is bad and it has to be replaced. That will cost between $6,500 and $7,000. I cant just comprehend what is going on. I thought BMW was a durable and prestigious car but I am losing hope and confidence in the car. What can I do now? I am getting frustrated. Please help.

When we spoke on December 9, 2011, about the poor experiences at the service department, I was hopeful that it would not repeat itself in the near future. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I must report to you of the poor service yet again experienced. Whether or not you or anyone else cares, I leave that up to your business decisions; however, from the consumers stand point, if asked about my experiences at Silver Spring BMW, I would have to inform then that purchasing the vehicle was great; however, the service department is the worse that I have seen in more than 34 years of driving. As anyone knows, any vehicle needs servicing over the life time, but think twice about purchasing a vehicle from Silver Spring BMW because the service department is just poor. People are polite and they have a smile on their faces but what is promised to the customer is not given to the customer.I will be happy to meet with you to inform you of my experience, but yet again, an appointment was set on December 9, 2011, for this day (December 20, 2011) at 7:30 am. And, despite several email reminders that my appointment was scheduled at 7:30am, and an assurance from Juan L/N/U that I could be taken at 7:30 am, and being the second vehicle waiting at the front doors to open, I had to wait because my advisor had another previously scheduled customer. I decided to leave in complete disgust with the overall operation and process. Whether or not you have a Good Ole Boy system in place, who knows. And of course, a business is welcomed to have a Good Ole Boy system in place; if that is your business model, thats your choice and customers should know.Nevertheless, when you believe that Silver Spring BMW is able to schedule an appointment at an appropriate time to have my windshield repairs, please advice. Of course, I am left to the mercy of Silver Spring BMW. Thanking you in advance for your time and attention to this matter. Have a Happy Holiday Season.

I bought a BMW with extended warranty which covers paint, tires, windshield etc. I was not told about the full deal. I was misinformed about windshield because their extended warranty only covers it one time! If it happens again no one will help. I was not told and didnt read the fine print. Now I had also coverage for paint and had a scratch in the bumper. They said its accidental or driver error. I dont understand what I should do at this point. All I did was parked the car in the Home Depot parking lot and came back to see the bumper scratch. Now its not covered according to the BMW 3rd party coverage. I asked under what criteria my scratch is not covered and what did you based on? They said picture and some and someone came and looked at it and thinks that its not covered.I went and spoke to the sales manager. He said that you paid $2000 for windshield protection and now you already got the money back and just be happy about it. I paid almost around 8000 for extended warranty. No one is able to help me out at this point. I called IBC and they said they dont deal with extended warranty and ask me to call and talk to my local MP!!! Can anyone help?

I bought their product and have had a very big problem with the jack lift that they provided me with to change the tires on the car. This jack is very insufficient, the reason being that when I jacked up the car to change a tire on it, the jack collapsed and let the car fall without the tire on the axle. This has happened twice already one time the jack collapsed and the car smashed my wrist and severely hurt it. Furthermore, since the jack collapsed, it wedged beneath the car and scratched up the bottom of the vehicle. I feel that this is very unacceptable since BMW is supposed to be a quality car. I hope the company gives this complaint notice and strives to improve the quality of the jack that is provided with the car. I can no longer use the jack they have provided me with because I do not want to risk further damage to both myself and my vehicle. I hope you consider sending me a new one. Thank you very much for your time.

My car is a 2010 BMW 750. I had so far 3 engine faults in the space of less than 2 years. I take the car to the dealer. He fixes it under warranty. But every time, he doesnt provide me with replacement car immediately. Instead, I have to wait for up to a week sometimes provided, I dont have a second car. The second issue, which is more important; why are there repeated engine faults in my car when it’s still new? Is it a manufacture fault? This is serious! Id like you to look into this matter and consider replacing this car with a brand new one. This is your reputation on the line here! I bought an expensive car so that I can relax, not so that I spend a great portion of my time at the service department. This is simply unacceptable.

On July 29, 2010, I purchased a 2010 BMW 3 Series 328xi at BMW of Orland Park. The purchase included a balance of factory warranty for four years or 50,000 miles on all parts. The air conditioning was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool and I took my car to the service department on May 18, 2013. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. He also said dye will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on May 23, 2014. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. He also said it is difficult to do diagnostics for a refrigerant leak and that an oil will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool and I was charged $209.19. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on March 31, 2015. I explained to the service department rep named, Craig, that I am not willing to pay for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge again. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. I also requested that BMW, at the minimum, assist with the cost since the warranty was still active and not utilized at the initial appointment when I reported the air conditioner not working properly. I entered a caveat beneath my signature on the work order that I only agree to have the air conditioner system reviewed for subsequent repair and/or replacement. I told Craig at least four times during the consultation, I do not want to pay for an evacuation and recharge procedure.Craig told me the AC condenser could be damaged from a rock, so hell have to check out the whole system anyway, especially since its out of warranty. I explained to Craig that since the car was not out of warranty the previous two times I reported the issue, some consideration should be given to me as a customer. Craig said he will check with BMW and see if they will help pay as a good-will gesture. He said BMW would probably pay 85% of the cost. I told Craig that I am a single small woman who is financially alone and that I cannot afford to pay $300 every year for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge because I do plan to keep the car. I am planning to retire within the next five years and this is not in my budgetary agenda. Also, I explained if I were to pay $300 every year for the next five years, I would have paid to have the air conditioner system replaced.Craig responded by saying that he was not independently wealthy either. So I left my car with the understanding that every effort would be made to determine how the air conditioner system would be repaired and/or replaced. Craig called me on March 31, 2015 and asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I agreed.Craig called me on April 1, 2015 and again asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I sighed and he said, and I quote, Hey, Im trying to help you out. Were checking out the evaporator coil and trying to see if its the factory. Even though his tone was unprofessional, I agreed. It was at this conversation I began to suspect that he was not working in good faith to resolve the problem and that there is no recourse for me.Craig called me on April 2, 2015 and said he couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system or any leaks. I asked him if an evacuation and refrigerant recharge was done and he said yes. He did exactly what I asked not to be done. I told him I was not pleased that this issue was not resolved as I requested. He said he did me a favor because he charged me for only one unit of refrigerant and he put in two units. When I asked why cant the system be repaired or replaced, he said they dont know what part to repair or replace. I am so discouraged and angry that I was not given a more intelligent explanation. BMW can build machines for which they cannot repair? He said he will notate on the invoice, that next time, I will not have to pay for the diagnostics. He said maybe next time Ill get a convertible for the loaner car.Craig suggested that I pick up my car in the morning because traffic was heavy on La Grange Road that time of the evening and he wont be there. I dont use La Grange Road to travel to Ziegler BMW and I wasnt interested to seeing him considering my disappointment to the way this issue was handled. So I picked up my car within 45 minutes after being notified to do so. When I got into my car, it stunk like cigarette smoke and sweat. I was provided a loaner car in the interim. The loaner/rental car agreement for a temporary substitute vehicle indicates, No smoking or a $250.00 fine will be charged. A copy of my credit card was obtained to ensure payment should I breach the no smoking policy. However, I am not being compensated to have my car deodorized. In summation, I am extremely saddened to be treated with such disrespect and callousness. I purchased a BMW because I need a reliable car. I also chose BMW because I suspected that I would receive the kind of customer service that would equate with the kind of product I purchased. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied about this issue. I feel very uncomfortable to use BMW for any of my automotive needs. However, I am still interested receiving a satisfactory remedy from BMW as previously requested.

My 1999 740IL has a transmission that cannot be serviced. It is a closed system. You cannot check, or change fluids, or filters in the car, except at a great cost, and most dealers will not touch the transmission, including fluid changes, and flushes. My transmission failed after 208,000 miles, and after having serviced the car regularly, the model is marked by water pump failures, and engine seals that refuse to be sealed. In other words, beyond the superb engine and suspension system, BMWs are lemons, awaiting the unwary. The car is now undergoing its annual six months downtime between major repairs to the aforementioned parts. Now, add a failed transmission to engine seals, water pumps, radiators, and the random electrical failures.

Please will be highly appreciated to have your involvements since I have noticed few serious issues which I felt it is worth highlighting it to you all. Basically, it is really disappointing to see a poor support from Local agent in Sultanate of Oman for BMW. As everyone knows BMW is worldwide class, well known and reliable vehicle. However, due to poor service it leads us to question the quality/performance of the car. The reasons of saying that as below: Whenever you take your car for service or collecting you have to wait 45 min as a minimum even if you have an appointment or ready for collection! A lot of failures and repair is costly as well, so I am not sure is it because of the vehicle not reliable or the mechanics that are available is not qualified to maintain such car? I have noticed several times, we simply receive an estimate asking for replacement, never came across for a simple repair, so is that the direction just simply change and charge for spare parts which are very high with no doubt compared where else? I would kindly request you to investigate and advise accordingly, since I am currently having two BMW: 1) X5, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFE81039L094909, Engine# 50884258. I stopped taking it for service with agent since Dec 2014 due to the above reasons; and 2) X6, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFG810X9L280666, Engine# 20794348.

I have owned several cars, and in the modern Era, the E60 535i started off with tons of trouble, along with my X6M. My E85 Z4 was an amazing car, even if it was not a drivers car with the electronic steering, but I loved it. I got the 535i as a daily driver. Water pumps (2), fuel pumps (2), disintegrating chargepipe, multiple injector replacements (2x had all of them replaced), the mystery 30ff error nobody can fix, the seat mat/airbag issue, the wastegate rattle and it would not be a BMW without a leaky valve cover gasket. There was always something wrong. So I bought an X6M a few months ago. Airbag recall, battery recall, injector recall... I have owned E30s, E9, E38, E39, E85 and an E31. Mostly trouble-free cars, then came the turbos and BMWs total inability to make a good engine that does not start causing issues, interiors that look dated and recalls that keep it parked more than I drive it. Even the driving experience has gone to hell.

Endless problems, high parts cost, Arrogant dealership! - I realize fully that my opinion(s) are not exactly the same as some out there who are chiming in with comments about more recent models purchased, new or used from BMW dealerships, but I thought I would give my two cents because of my shock that these cars are absolutely not built with the same quality of a Mercedes or of Chevrolet (at least when it comes to their Corvette products). Recently, I purchased a 1999 BMW 328i Convertible with 116,000 miles on it. I did so believing that BMW had superior quality and engineering. The car is so cosmetically perfect as to indicate that it had been well taken care of, and the Carfax was in order, too. The engine overall runs fine, although Ive already gone through two steering pumps because BMWs are apparently prone to having steering pump clogging issues with their steering pump filters, also, my air conditioning does not work properly due to a common BMW problem called the fan regulator switch. Realizing fully that there would be things that needed fixing on any car with such high mileage, I never in my life have heard of some of the ridiculous things that are wrong with this car nor have I ever experienced the sticker shock with regard to finding/purchasing parts in order to patch this thing back together (i.e. a new cup holder, which usually can only be ordered directly from BMW because there are no used ones on the market due to the fact that they are made so cheaply is $60.00 at the local arrogant dealership. A coin holder which is usually broken but which has to be replaced in order to complete the restoration of the center console is $30.00 and looks like nothing more than a small piece of thin plastic with cheap springs inside). The airbag light that is on is not due to something specifically wrong with one of the airbags, but rather has to do with the seat belt tensioner, a typically BMW, overkill, goofy part and/or mechanism, which requires a full replacement of the seat belt latching mechanism on the passenger side, $550.00 for the part from BMW, $150.00 if Im lucky to find a used one on eBay that actually works. And the service advisor at the local dealership here in Kansas City just kind of laughed, like theyve done about most things. When I asked for an estimate to have it installed, saying, Its hard to say how much it would cost, we dont do much work on the ‘older’ cars.” When I asked about the drivers seat, of which the power gears have locked up and no longer work, he simply flat out said We really dont do work like that on the ‘older cars’, and recommended one of two or three local boutique-type foreign car garages around town.” The same went for my convertible top, always with a good little arrogant laugh. I inquired about an oil change, and after another arrogant little chuckle, and checking with several other mechanics and service advisors, was told it would probably be about $100.00. This after Ive spent a good $1,000.00+ at their dealership on parts which Ive installed myself. Ive owned several sports cars in my life, most of which were purchased used, including 5 Corvettes, and two Mercedes-Benz SLs (one of the Mercedes had over 160,000 miles on it when purchased; the other over 80,000 miles). All were far superior cars to this ultimate driving machine, with far fewer problems of any kind on them. I cannot believe the shoddy quality of everything on this car. The plastic on almost every plastic part is cheap and cracks; electrical problems are now starting to crop up with my entire left tail light mechanism failing to operate now (never have I experienced a whole bank of tail lights failing on any car Ive ever owned, foreign or domestic). I realized I was going to have to replace the top because it was worn out; however, parts of the top that are necessary to complete the top rebuild are astronomical in price, with small plastic pieces and one foot of elastic cord costing $80.00 wholesale; one piece, available only from BMW, that is held in place with the stupidest design I ever saw of having one central screw in the center of the windshield, cost $283.00 and is so flimsy that its a wonder that it wont need replacing once a year. The top doesnt work correctly and there is no guarantee that it ever will. Ive seen 30 year old Chevrolets with tops that are not this intricate, cheap, nor prone to problems that still work beautifully. Just today, most of my tail lights and all of my interior lights stopped working! This car looks like it was well taken care of, but it must have all been to no avail. I now understand why a used BMW is only worth about 30% of what a used Mercedes is valued at. I did not sign on to being a Beemer owner thinking that I was buying something with as many problems as a 50 year old Jaguar or MG. I was thinking the quality would be more like a Mercedes and as for the arrogant preamble to this site, which says: “High-performance cars require lots and lots of very expensive routine maintenance. Also theyre notorious for being afflicted with all kinds of exotic problems. If youre really into cars, understand them and are willing to lavish time, money and attention on one, the BMW may be for you. If youre looking to raise your self-esteem by buying something really expensive, we recommend real estate.”Thats **! Furthermore, the arrogance of the people who work at the local dealership, including at the parts counter is unbelievable. They almost want to argue with you about what part you need. If they cant find it immediately, they get cranky and claim it doesnt exist, that that was a part that BMW didnt put on the car, or some other crazy excuse. Then, when you finally bring them a part number, they apologize and tell you its $500.00. A Corvette and Mercedes SLs are high performance cars, and I do understand cars, and BMWs are pieces of crap! Just my two cents, but I will never purchase a BMW, new or used ever again!

Total bill: over $5300. First, they had my car for close to six weeks. I had a problem with the computer, 4-wheel drive sensor, maintenance for 65000 miles, and key switch install. Second, I asked for the oil to be changed and 65000 mile tune-up. When I got it back my computer said that it had not been changed and it was a quart low. Third, I have dents and scratches on the car that did not exist prior. Fourth, the steering wheel now makes an annoying sound when you turn the wheel. Fifth, the heat knob on the dash was broken. It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? Ninth, they lied and said I could be not reached was the cause of the delay(s). Tenth, I asked for the used parts they supposedly changed and they said they were not available. We didnt think youd want them. Im thinking of filing suit, but dont know an attorney or group that would help. Any suggestions would be helpful even if you tell me Im wasting my time. My girlfriend drove her BMW 328I up from Florida on Sept. 24th, and when she got it here, she noticed that the window was down and would not roll up (motor broken). It was late at night, so we didnt want to leave the car out on the street with a window down in NYC. We called BMW Roadside Assistance and they had a tow truck company come pick up the car. Since it was late, they said they would take the car to their lot and then drop it off at BMW Dealership the following morning. The next morning, the tow company called us and said they dropped it off and it would be ready in a couple of days. We then called the BMW dealership when we thought the car would be ready, and they informed us that they never received the car nor had any information on the car. It turned out that the tow company wrecked the car, and they were trying to cover it up and fix the car themselves. They basically took the car to a chop shop in the Bronx and it looked like they were trying to replace parts of the car with aftermarket parts that were not BMWs. We went to the Bronx with the cops and had another tow truck come out and move the car to the BMW dealership. It has now been exactly 1 month and BMW has not even started working on the car yet. We filed claims with BMW Roadside Assistance and BMW Customer Service, and they never get back to us when we call to try and figure out what is going on. I have been getting the runaround from everyone I speak with and when I ask to speak to a supervisor, they say they have no other contacts they can give. The BMW dealership has tried to contact Roadside Assistance, and they are not even able to get a hold of them. Now the dealership wants to charge $85 a day for storage of the car. Meanwhile, weve been without a car this whole time and there is no end in sight on when the car will be fixed. At this point, Im not really sure what to do, or what legal action we should take. Any help you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

The Front Seat Occupant Protection Mat icon on my 2007 BMW 328XI has been displayed on my dash instrumentation for over a year. I looked up the recalls on this vehicle on www.safecars.org and it indicated that the model was recalled. The summary at the website stated, In the event of a crash the front passenger airbag could be deactivated increasing risk of personal injury.I called BMW Customer Relations to inquire about the recall and the representative informed me that my vehicle VIN number was not part of the recall. He informed me that my vehicle was not in that production run, although it was produced the same year. Therefore my vehicle did not meet the requirements for the recall. I understand that numerous BMW owners have made a similar complaint about their vehicle and recalls are usually initiated in this manner. Regardless of the production time that my vehicle was made, my vehicle has the same defect as the other vehicles and should be replaced by BMW.

In 2011, I bought a 2010 550i gt with 10k miles from Global Imports and in the span of a year, It had ten service repairs on everything from oil consumption to pumps leaks drivetrain failures. Global trade assisted me out of that vehicle into another 2010 550i gt. Within one year this vehicle was sixteen times in repair shop with ongoing failure of vehicle. I am in negotiation with BMW of North America as they have admitted liability of their failed vehicles but they have a goal to profit from this and sell me another vehicle. I believe that two and a half years of constant repairs subjecting my family to stress, loss of time, loaner vehicles and a incident where we broke down on the busiest Atlanta freeway at high traffic time potentially deadly, is cause for BMW to offer a apology and as they stand by their Brand, they stand by myself the consumer and offer my family a new vehicle comparable to the features of the 550i gt minus the constant failed operations and performances.

Also, the ride is a little jarring, and not as smooth as I would like. Nevertheless, I have really enjoyed driving my car. The control, and, road handling are amazing. I have a BMW X3 30i and my brake light, 4x4 light, and airbag light came on. I found out it may be my actuator, transfer case, or transfer gear. Anyways to make a long story short, I looked up this issue and found out this is not just a small problem but many older BMWs are all having the same problem. Apparently, they made the transfer gear out of plastic which tends to wear out right away. I thought this was something that maybe just a few cars were experiencing, but going on the internet, a lot of these BMWs are having the same problem. Is there a recall for this issue because there should be if BMW is making this actuator to fail on a lot of BMWs.

I will never buy a BMW again. Overpriced and the quality is not present anywhere. Difficult to upkeep and customer service is nearly nonexistent at dealership AND corporate level. I bought a 320i and was so excited to run around with the BMW logo - until realized the logo was ALL I was getting. The car is subpar to my old Geo Metro from the 90s I had as a kid. NOT EXAGGERATING. As the first owner and the car is ONLY A YEAR OLD, it shouldnt have all the problems its been having. I had to buy new tires (yes, that quickly) because they come with run flats which go bald quickly. To boot, I couldnt have my usual family friend replace them because I needed some special BMW tire bolt remover to get them off. Took forever to get this bolt remover because it didnt come with the car and I ended up missing a weekend trip because I felt unsafe driving on bald tires.Engine stalls sometimes when first starting car in the a.m., door lock mechanism has broken a few times, and most of all: The car terrifies me on curvy roads on the freeway (cant have full control of the steering wheel during high speed curves on the freeway). I am terrified Im going to die in this car - Ive gone back to the dealer multiple times to tell them the steering wheel sticks on high speed turns and they only tell me they cant find the problem - because they arent looking for it!!! They just want my money and care less about fixing this car under the warranty. And I cant afford to get another car while saddled with this one or ruin my credit by dumping it because Im trying to buy a house. So I just avoid going far in this car or rent vehicles when I need to drive long distance. Ridiculous. But wait! Theres more! Every time I go make a payment online, the website is down or Im being asked to authenticate my same device I always use. Beyond annoying. I have to call customer service to pay, which is always a 20 min wait because their site never works. So EVERYONE is calling in and I go thru that EVERY MONTH just to pay my hard earned money for a car Im scared to drive! It has been a complete nightmare owning this car and BMW doesnt care. I have told my family if I die on any curvy roads to have the steering issue looked into and sue the daylights out of them. DO NOT BUY A BMW!

Purchased a CPO 2006 X3 with 13K on it in 2006. Car now has 103K on it. First time buy of a BMW for us. Have owned many different brands (Ford, GM, Dodge, Audi, Honda) and I have never had anywhere near the range of problems that the BMW has had with any of them. Car was back at the dealer every 3 months like clockwork over a 3 year period for a different failure each time. Everything was fixed under the extended warranty that comes with the CPO cars (thanks God!!) and the dealer has been very good at fixing each problem. But due to the wide variety of failures, whatever confidence I had in the ultimate driving machine is long gone. Car is used for commuting to work daily for my wife and has always been garaged. The list of failures fixed under warranty: Torn engine mount, Sunroof controller failed, heated steering wheel failed (which also required a new airbag due to chaffed wires in the steering wheel), failed engine computer, failed rear wiper motor, water in the high mounted LED brake light, failed drivers seat position memory module, rear passenger door lock failed, broken rear coil spring and there is an oil leak around the oil filter housing (something that I learned is very common and an $800 repair at the dealer). The things that I had to fix myself once the car came off warranty: Failed front drive shaft CV joint because the boot cracked and slung out all the grease and the other rear coil spring broke. While replacing the drive shaft I found that the steel used in the car is very cheap. I sheared off a bolt head like it was made of butter while removing the front suspension strut. BMW makes very nice cards out of very poor materials. The interior of the car is not holding up too well either. The seat vinyl is cracking and some of the bezels around the switches in the door panels are peeling off a layer of plastic. Last BMW Ill ever buy.

I own a 2006 BMW and for years this car has been very reliable. I recent detected an oil leak and delayed getting the car into the BMW dealership in Richmond BC to get the problem fixed. As a result the power steering belt and mechanism failed and eventually fell off. I accepted the issues as my error and went to the dealership to get the repairs done. The service person was good and took care of my immediate needs (** I believe). The car was in the shop for 3 days and on the Saturday mid-morning I went to collect my car. They informed me at this time a light was burnt out and that I should change the part. Service person indicated 5 minutes which the job took more than an hour causing me to miss my morning commitments. Although unhappy with the wasted time I still was fine with the service I had received. This is where I have lost all faith with the BMW Richmond, Canada service team. 1/2 hour after leaving the facility my engine light came on. The car would not run at low RPMs and stalled at any stop light that I encountered. Since it was end of the work day for BMW, I returned the car Sunday morning and left a message for the service team to contact me. On Monday mid morning I called to see if they had my vehicle. I was told that they had it but were not sure what the problem was. Later in the day I was contacted and informed that it was an electrical issue. Coincidence? They claimed that the issue was not a result of prior work completed. I struggle with this as they needed to steam clean my engine compartment to assure that the leak was repaired. My understanding is that water and electrical dont mix well together, but oh well I took this one in the short hairs and gave them approval to repair the problem. This is where I lost it. A new service person calls me 5 days after my car has been in the shop to inform me that they have found another leak. Not only was this an oil leak but it was bad enough that the work needed to be done immediately. How does a car sit in their shop for that many days with none of their service technicians detecting the issue? If this was the last dealership on earth I would rather walk than do business with them. They lack customer service skills, poor service team that repaired my vehicle and have lost my business forever. I am in the market for a new car and will drive past them to any other dealership to buy my new car.

So knowing that asking for any help to cover the cost seemed reasonable. My car has 60k. Its a 2010. The warranty is 10 years 156k. I was told BMW wont help not one penny. Because of the age. Now owning 4 of these cars. I cant even begin to tell you the amount of money I have spent on repairs over the years. So now knowing I have to eat this cost. I am told 30-60 day to even get the part. So thanks BMW. I wont have a car to drive till I can get this handled. So once this puppy is fixed. I WILL BE TRADING IT IN! This is the last BMW I will own.

My transmission needed a $3000 part which had been replaced less than 2 years earlier near San Diego, CA. BMWs warranty for parts purchased from their dealerships has a 2-year part and labor warranty. The part was replaced at Ontario BMW (now Penske) of Southern California under warranty free as confirmed by the customer service manager named Gary at Ontario BMW. And after the repair in a very unexpected manner, the BMW reps at BMW of North America rejected the repair because the repair was not done at the San Diego BMW dealer where the original repair was performed. The possible caveat that the transmission parts be replaced at the original part of service was never mentioned to me by any of BMWs official agents and representatives. The car is now fixed. And because it was not done in the original dealership in San Diego, they literally want to dismantle my BMWs transmission (basically redamage it) and make me pay for towing to San Diego to redo the repair. Not only does this make no financial $$ sense for me or even for BMWs own dealership, but its a poor and senseless, useless decision that violates BMWs own warranty policies. Please intervene and quickly shut this case in our favor since my request is beneficial for all sides involved. The warranty was honored as stated by BMWs agents and since no one at BMW knew of this hidden caveat, it makes no sense since my BMW broke down in Ontario, California. Thanks!

My car 2007 328 xi was broken for 3 weeks. I was initially told it was the bad AC compressor, and now, I was told that the AC compressor actually led to engine chain broken. The cost to fix it is more than $50K! Can anyone tell me why a bad AC can have such a huge impact? There are so many cars that can still drive with a broken air conditioner. What a stupid design! My car is only 46000 miles and just out of warranty! I called BMW NA custom relations, they told me they cannot offer any help. This will be my first and last BMW!

Both BMW of Dallas and Classic BMW of Plano have horrible service centers. Most recently, my service adviser, Richard ** insisted I missed my appointment day because the online appointment scheduler didnt catch the update I sent him, even though I was sent an email reminder for the day I showed up. ** left me a message on estimates but never answered or returned a call to confirm authorized work. I left a message with the service manager, who never called back either. I never saw him while paying the invoice and only while driving home and the left signal stop working did I realize they disassembled the tail light power supply.Last month, I made an appointment over the phone to have the door handle fixed at Classic BMW of Plano. When I arrived that afternoon for the arranged appointment where I described the issue, they said they wouldnt even look at it until the next day, if I leave it overnight. I left and called for the service manager. He/She never called me back. I talked with someone at the BMW USA toll free customer service center. They never followed up.Last year, I had a bad experience with BMW of Dallas and ** when I explained the passenger window was rattling, ** kept the vehicle the whole day and call me later to explain the rattling was music CDs in the door pocket. I took my husband back with me who demonstrated the rattling noise without the music CDs in the door pocket. We had to bring the vehicle back another day for repairs. Back in 2007, I wanted to purchase a vehicle from BMW of Dallas and they wouldnt let me test drive the vehicle. Because of this, I shop and purchase my vehicles from Autobahn BMW in Fort Worth.I love driving the ultimate machine. I have never complained about the expensive cost of maintenance even though reliability is awful for such a high priced vehicle. My biggest complaint is the service I receive at the Dallas area dealerships. And because service is so poor, it is time for me to admit to my friends and family BMW is a poor option and consider another make of vehicle.

Im owner of BMW X6 5,0 Xdrive (2009). I bought this car like a new one. This is my third BMW. After 63 000km BMW service-car repair-a new engine. Because the car big, oil losses. After this repair many times Engine Fault on my board computer BMW X6. After Engine Fault a complete loss of power. Very danger! Every time in BMW service they told me... Dont worry.. we will repair it. After BMW service -car repair - a new both turbo there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new injections there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new cylinders, but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair-a new injections again, but next ENGINE FAULT. BMW service-car repair-fuel pump, but next ENGINE FAULT... BMW service-car repair both catalysts and more other parts... but ENGINE FAULT.. is still again and again there! The inappropriate condition of the car (BMW X6 5,0 xi) has several times put not only the lives of my family and me at risk but threatened also the lives of other drivers on the road. All these extremely risky situations were caused by repeated errors in the engine when in use followed by a complete loss of power. Dont buy BMW, if you love your life and your family!

I wrote my first review a week ago telling you guys how my 2009 BMW x6, with 39,000 miles on it, stopped one day on the road and lost the power while the engine light was on. The estimate to fix the problem was $3,000, plus tax. I called BMW North America asking them for help, but they left me with nothing. After waiting for any of their response for the whole week, I just found out that they will not cover it because I bought this car one year ago! How is that possible??? The car has only 39,000 miles on it, and my warranty expired two months ago!!!I cannot believe how a big prestigious company treats their customers. Looks like its not worth to pay so much money for the cars that have so many major problems!!! I have a very bad experience with BMW, and Im very disappointed with how BMW treats their customers. Can someone please help me? Does anyone know the contact info to the main office in Germany??? What can I do now??? I feel that this is so not fair that I have to pay already big money for the car that has such a low mileage when its warranty expired only two months ago, when originally, the manufacturers warranty is up to $50,000. Very, very sad and disappointed...

I had foolishly bought my first BMW product only 6 months ago. It is a 04 x5 4.6is. I bought it from a private seller who obviously took very good care of it since it seemed to be in great shape. Here I thought I was getting a super deal on a very well built, high costing vehicle. Wow, was I mistaken. A month after getting it, I had to replace and electrical module behind the glove box at the tune of 800.00 then, a month later, I am making a left turn and the transmission farts out and throws itself into fail safe mode. After a couple days and a 250.00 diagnostic charge at the local dealership, I had my worries confirmed. It needed: 1.New transmission at the tune of $10,000.00, it only has 148,000 km on its lifetime fluid that never needs changing! My Honda CRV has 310,000 km on it and going strong. 2. New tail light since they were melting to the point of failure, 650.00.3. New engine fan since it was only running on high mode only and sounded like a Boeing 747 at take off., 1200.00!Like I needed to be insulted, the guy at the dealership suggests that maybe the owner before worked the tranni too hard by pulling things, since it has a towing package. Wow. After many hours of surfing the web, I learned that these are all problematic issues due to lack of quality and very poor design, which BMW will not take any responsibility for.I finally had the transmission repaired for 3000.00. Have not fixed the tail light issue and have no intentions of changing the fan. I am in the process of selling it or trading it off before the rear air suspension goes bad. Never again, should have bought a Honda.

Share my unfortunate experience with BMW quality! I bought a BMW X1 about 4 years 9 months ago. Troubles started just after bought it. This and that warning lights came up often. After about one year, the battery drains all the time, have to replace the whole electric and battery system. A few weeks ago, just about 9 months out of the warranty, I drove it to Utah for a vacation. When I drove back home, it broke down in a city with transmission malfunction warning on the way. I have to tow it to the city BMW service for repair. After spent more than $1200, I still cannot drive it back home. It needs to replace the transmission, costs more than $11000. Left me with no other options, I have to sell it to the BMW dealer cheap and rent a car back home! This car only has 47000 miles, the transmission is gone!

I called customer affairs to complaint about a recurring problem with my X5s (4.4) windows that frequently fall without warning, since the day it was purchased. I explained to Ms Jodi ** that my experiences with BMW technicians that either rigged or did not properly repaired my vehicle. After not being satisfied with case managers decision, I requested to speak to the department manager, and it was denied. Ms. Jodi ** just simply told me that she was fully capable of making a decision and would not forward me/my contact information to the upper management because they are there for administrative purposes only! Now, being a member of an administrative e system myself, Im sure that Ms. **s supervisor is not aware of her management style/behavior.I have a BMW X5(4.4) that windows frequently fail/collapse since its purchase, without warning. Yes, it is out of warranty but, I purchased upscale vehicles for their history and dependability. I have influenced many into purchasing a BMW, even my husband. But, I promise you and vow, that I will convince even more why not to purchase a BMW. I am very disappointed on how BMW treat their customers, especially, Ms. Jodi **. We do own other luxury vehicles, and if we have to turn all our BMWs into their brands, Im a sure that the other brands wont mind.

My car battery suddenly died on my new 335i 2011. They wanted $195.00 to diagnose the battery and $435.00 (totaling $630.00 for parts, not including labor). What use is a warranty if you have to pay as much to repair it if it was out of warranty? It took them 2 days to diagnose it, and they wanted to keep my car over the weekend. Its not rocket science to replace a dead battery. Its literally a 5 minute job. Im disappointed at the amount of my time that they have wasted. The battery only charges to 10.6 volts (dead cell, faulty product). I have completely lost faith in BMW. I have had transmission problems since 5,000 miles (2nd gear synchro 6MT) that the dealer has failed to replace under warranty. When I purchased the car, it came with 2 bad rims.Heres my current BMW Warranty experience: Did the custom-ordered car come with bad rims? Blame customer. Is the car transmission failing at 5,000 Miles? Blame customer. Does the car battery have dead cells? Blame customer. There is poor communication with customers and lack of communication.

I purchased a used BMW 318 EDS last year, this is a 2010 plate with 50k coming with a full BMW service history. I thought it to be a good buy as its quoted The ultimate drive. Within 5k the clutch had gone (my previous Vauxhall did 150k on the original clutch). However I got it replaced and thought sometimes it happens. Now at 60k the timing chain has snapped! BMW do not want to know anything, not bothered, so what etc. I can honestly say a BMW is not the ultimate drive, its just a complete overpriced brand that provides no customer support for a used car. Apparently this timing chain is a known fault. However the quote by the customer services lady was there is no current campaign against the fault so we dont have to honour it. The repair bill is around 1500, so please be very wary of buying a used BMW as you may end up with a complete dog of a car like I own. I should have bought a Ford or Vauxhall. Ultimate drive… Ultimate money pit.

My first experience owning a 2009 BMW 535i: I recently took my vehicle to BMW of Columbus to have my in-tank electric fuel pump and a sensor repaired. I spent $1,254.00 to have it repaired. I picked up my car on Sept. 14, 2012. Shortly afterward, I was traveling north on I-185 and suddenly my check engine light came on. I began losing power and it started hesitating as well. It appears to be the same initial problem I had and thought it was fixed. Here I am now dropping my car off to a closed (late Friday evening) BMW dealer for repairs. I had plans to go on a vacation and now once again I cant go anywhere. I have never had this to happen to me. Its unbelievable! You dont expect this from a BMW. I hope they can get right the second time around and according to all the articles I have read (which I should have done my homework before I purchased it), 2009 BMW 535i are having a lot of fuel issues that should have been addressed and now as the consumer, I guess I have to suffer now. I think BMW needs to do more about the 535i fuel problems. I took my car in to BMW of Columbus. They initially diagnosed my car with the in-tank electric fuel pump and a sensor. I had that repaired for $1,254.00 and I was not happy with the bill because the 535I was notorious for having awful fuel problems. Shortly after I had it fixed, my car check engine light came back on and I had a sudden loss of power. And while this was happening, I am saying to myself this cannot be happening to me again. This was the second time I took my car to BMW of Columbus and it took them several days to find the problem. From my understanding, the 535Is injectors had a recall and they were checked and removed by a BMW tech, removed, refitted, scanned and possibly replaced but I am not sure. However, BMW of Columbus tech discovered that the last fuel injector closes to firewall of engine. One of the injectors bolt, which holds the injector down, was broken off into the engine block. The tech who performed it tried to cover it up by screwing an oversize bolt over the top of the broken bolt. The recall was done on Oct. 17, 2011 at 50,408 from center ID: 23055, but I purchased the car from Roswell Mitsubishi of Atlanta, Georgia at approximately 57,000. According to Stephane **, service consultant from BMW of Columbus, he stated that he spoke to the BMW dealer service manager from center ID: 23055, which performed N54 injector check (B131410). He claimed that if they did do it, the car should have malfunctioned before now. I got a chance to look at the area where the oversize bolt was, on the engine block. It was damaged all around the engine block with chips missing around it. This is the second week I am without my car and I have not heard from BMW customer service specialist Jodi. I sent Jodi another email, asking her to please contact me and I have yet to hear anything as of Sept. 26, 2012.I made another call on July 27, 2012 to North America BMW customer relations. I was able to get in contact with Jodi (who is handling my complaint). I left message on her voicemail. Stephane ** from BMW of Columbus called and left a message on my cellphone and he wanted to know something because he had not heard anything from North America BMW. It has been over the three to five business days and I have yet to hear from Jodi. As of today (Oct. 1, 2012), I have not heard anything from my customer representative Jodi.

As an adult, I bought my first Honda in 2005. It was a brand new top of the line Honda Accord. Since I purchased it I had many issues but Honda fixed it once I was put in contact with the regional manger by giving me a brand new 2008 Honda Accord that matched the one I had purchased in 2005. I only mention that before I begin my story regarding the purchase of the two BMWs that have been a NIGHTMARE.My history with BMW is very lengthy but I am going to try and condense the issues to keep it simple. As a child always dreamt of owning a BMW, and once I was financially able to do so I went ahead and invested in what I thought was the Ultimate Driving Machine. So my childhood dream is and has been nothing less than a Horror Story. In 2010 I purchased a Brand New 2010 X5 with 10 miles on the odometer. I was thrilled to say the least. I didnt have the car 3 weeks before there was a Jack Hammer sound coming from the vehicle, took it to the nearest BMW dealer and was told that a screw came out the bottom and the pan was loose underneath. Soon after that, I kept taking it in because of a pungent Sulfur Smell, unlike a Rotten Egg smell, that is usually due to the catalytic converter, which was of the issues I had with my Honda. The dealer then proceeds to take out the mats in the front and back and actually cut out part of the floor mats and replaced it with some other material and told me that was the reason for the smell. Well that was not the reason because the smell never went away.Keep in mind that this smell was emitting since I initially bought the car. Moving forward, I made enough complaints to BMW NA and finally got them to send an Engineer to take the car apart and see what the problem could possibly be. After being given the runaround by the first so called Specialist, I received a call from her Supervisor, after making numerous complaints, and he was rude and very disrespectful. He told me that the reason why the smell was emitting from my car was because I kept laundry detergents in the trunk and there were traces of tobacco in the car. Now first of all thats a bunch of BS and secondly the smell was strong when the car was new, so how do you explain that. He was so rude and disrespectful in the way he spoke to me, he even hung up the phone on me. It was not a disconnection, it was a direct hang up.I have been hospitalized 3 times for 5 days or more for internal pain in my stomach and the Drs. could not find any reason why I was in such pain and constantly throwing up. I kept telling them that I was constantly ingesting a pungent sulfur smell from the car. My hematologist finally said that I may have been getting ill because of the smell. The car has been in and out the shop for so many things, burnt out internal light from rear passenger mirror, water in the panel where the back light, check engine light, car not accelerating, and then taking off like a jet, almost causing several accidents. The list goes on and on. In December of 2013 in the height of Christmas shopping season when the traffic is heavy and thick, I finally had enough of the BS when the car totally just stopped in the middle of the highway, while cars and tractor trailers almost slammed into me about 5 times, because the car would not drive more than 20 miles an hour. The story goes further than that. But now I was sort of in duress and since they werent trying to acknowledge that they sold me a lemon that has jeopardized me and my family since I bought it, I figured I would get rid of that and buy a CPO just in order to not fight any longer or lose any equity that I had already invested. WHAT A MISTAKE. Vehicle #2 is a 2012 CPO X5 that I got in December of 2013 that has been in the shop more than 10 times and has been there for over a week now as I write this letter.I wrote everyone in BMW, even the owner, his secretary, his Press Secretary and his Assistant. Till this very day, I have not even received an Acknowledgement that they even received my letter. But I know they did because I got a confirmation that it was received. So, although their information is hard to get over the internet, I did my research and got it. So if anyone needs the Email to the President of BMW and his team, you can email me and I will gladly provide it to you.Bottom Line, like many people have stated here, BMW is not living up to their Brand and they need to acknowledge everyones investment into their Brand, not just the elite or a chosen few. As the saying goes: Hey You Never Know and I say this to any BMW executive that you never ever know who you are dealing with no matter how big or small. Its the little people that make the big people. Remember that.

I purchased a brand new special order 2011 BMW 128i. I love the car and treat it like a baby. It has only 13,000 mile but required new rear tires. Very expensive items and with traction control and safe driving why did it need new tires. I hate the run-flat tires. They are hard as rocks and negatively affect the driving dynamics of the vehicle. The vehicle has no spare or temporary spare. To balance the vehicle, the battery has been placed in the trunk. It would have been wiser to utilize regular tires and provide a temporary spare in the trunk. My battery is now starting to fail. Of course that happened two months after the 4 yr maintenance expired. I just discovered that a new battery costs over $600 because the vehicles computer has to be reprogrammed for the specific battery. Only BMW and a few authorized service centers can perform a battery replacement. So, a $200 battery costs an extra $400 for installation. That is just plain crazy. Hate the tires now, hate the cost of normal maintenance.

The remote key on my 2006 330xi stopped working and would not unlock the car. Once inside the car, I tried the central unlocking button on the dash. It locked the driver’s side door but did not control any of the other doors. Before leaving the car again, I therefore pushed down the lock buttons on the passenger and rear doors. At this point when I tried to open any of the 4 doors from inside the car using the door handles, they did not open. None of the car doors would open from inside the car. This is a frightening and potentially, a very dangerous defect in the cars design. BMW of NA will not acknowledge this as a defect or a safety issue. I own a 650I, bought it from BMW dealer, always had it serviced by BMW dealer. At around 80,000 miles after having repeated problems with transmission, I was told I needed a new transmission and it was not covered by warranty. Also was told I need engine rebuilt! And also out of warranty! This car cost over $100,000, what type of valve stem guides do they use that they wear out at such low miles, not to mention a transmission, both items last longer on a $30,000 Honda... How pathetic!I spoke with BMW North America. They refused to warranty the defective items, and if one would check the new engines in BMWs, they would find most are burning oil very prematurely because the new engine design is built with sub par parts... This is a car costing over $100,000.00. I am disgusted with this horrible excuse of a luxury vehicle and more so the haughty attitude of BMW. One more thing, the dealer I was using Checkered Flag is horrible. They returned my car after a service, 4 quarts low on oil. When I called them, they said the oil sensor was faulty, when actually it was their lazy and inept service approach. I have engaged the services of a lawyer on this one!

From GM to used car manager have been unable to get an honest answer when looking at a used M5 with 14k. Checking the carfax car was sold as a CPO elite. First I called the dealership to confirm with service. When a service advisor answered she told me when I gave her the VIN # that this car was NOT in their system. Not in their system, it is on their lot!! Then was told when asked the salesperson that the car was NOT CPO. I decided to call an independent BMW service tech. BMW warranty info is nationwide. 2007 BMW M6 - The fastest lemon on earth: I bought a used 2007 BMW M6 with 20,500 miles in January 2012 from Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. I drove from Detroit to pick the car up. Upon driving home to stop for gas (This car averages 10 mpg of premium, for your information.), my father noticed the BMW emblem was gone on the front. Needless to say, driving off the lot without a BMW emblem they blew off was very irritating, to say the least. But the dealership was surprised and said they will mail me one to put on. (By that, I mean I had to have a dealership put another one on because I broke the tiny plastic trying to squeeze it on the holes on my first attempt.) Prior to me receiving the new emblem was day two where while driving, a warning light came on that said passenger restraint warning. Now, I was very pissed. And just as this had happened while driving, the screen just went blank and would not turn on for the navigation or iDrive system. Now, the dealer was confused and said, We will see if we can get a dealer closer to you to handle this. Well, after a few days, they called saying I will need to bring it back to them in Akron, Ohio. I am now really pissed. Its winter, so I just tell them when the weather breaks, Ill get it to them. About a month later, I have a friend in Toledo drive the car back to them which results in no M6 for 2 weeks. They fix it, I get my car back. One day, thats right one day, after I got it back, the light returned! Great Job repairing that! So, I now just tell them to send a transport to my house and pick this pig up. Im not adding more miles and gas money, because you didnt fix it the first time. They agreed.Another few weeks passed, and I got the car back. Wouldnt you know it, they left me with 1/10th of a tank, despite promising to have it cleaned and full (I had over half a tank before they took it.). So I think Ok, the worst is over, right? Wrong! While driving home in July, the car literally died while driving and a light stated increased battery discharge. And my screen died, and I could not change gears! I got home, and now, I am not even on speaking terms with the dealership as I have been so pissed about how they handle everything. I had to jump the car (New battery was installed when I bought the car.) and drive it around to try to recharge it. This worked temporarily, and the light cleared. 3 days after the power dying issue, lo and behold! The passenger restraint light is back to its usually warning position. I have now made up my mind to sell this car asap as I fear the worst. 6 days after this and one day after putting it up for sale, driving home from work, theres a warning engine malfunction (reduced power). Thats right, its now 500 horses. I honestly was scared. Oh, and I forgot the trunk wouldnt open. You had to use a key, and the center consoles locking mechanism made it where you couldnt open the center console. I have since traded this car in, but I want it to be known that this story is 100% true and actually longer and more depressing. But this was my shorthand version of this POS. Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. It should be shut down! They do not deserve any business, and I assure you they did nothing to try to help me out in any way. Do not ever buy a BMW. Dont even take one, if its given to you, because the repair costs will break your bank account!

I bought a x5 2009 with 36.000 miles. Because I never had good reviews about BMW cars and my wife want this car so much, I bought a extended warranty for $5000. Now the car is 51000 miles and it is leaking oil from the valve cover and is leaking oil from the main seal and needs motor mount. The car is service at BMW. The technician said he was going to have to lower the engine and transmission in order to change the main seal. Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. Bmw cars after 2 years of use, it start to fall apart.

I own a 2007 BMW (American spec) 328 XI with only 67,719 miles on it. On November 10, 2014 while in Ramstein I discovered that the reverse gear wasnt working. I went to the BMW dealership in K-Town to have it looked at before I traveled back home, three hours away, since I didnt have an appointment they had me wait 3 hours to be seen. The gentleman who I finally spoke to, he actually walk me out to my car and check it out for himself, told me that I was good to drive home and that there was nothing that they could do for me. I would have to make an appointment. On November 11, 2014 while driving home with my three children on the Autobahn coming from Ramstien my car lost speed and I was not able to accelerate. I was able to pull over to the side of the road without causing an accident. When I put the car into drive it just stood idle as if it was in neutral. None of the gears worked. I had the car towed and the tow company who took it to their mechanic who they told me that it was probably the transmission. On November 12, 2014 I called BMW of North America and was told that they couldnt help me since I was in Europe.I search and searched for the BMW Europe number, finally found it, called on November 13, 2014 and got the run around. I call BMW Europe again on November 14, 2014 and got the run around again. I called BMW of North America back on November 17 asking for assistance, a middle man to assist me since there was a language barrier and I wasnt getting any help from the BMW Europe customer service number. I was told that no one could assist me since I wasnt in America. They were unable to call Europe on my behalf.Since I live in Velburg (3 hours away from Ramstien) I called ADAC and had the car towed to Hormanns (09492906321) in Parsburg (15 mins away from my house). It took ADAC a week to deliver my car to Hormanns. Once they received the car Marcus took a look at car and called the BMW dealer in Neumartk for advice. They told him that the rings in the transmission had broke and I would need to buy a new transmission. They also told him that there was recall a few years ago for the transmission rings to be replace. I have only own the car since July 2014. I do have all the service records from the previous owner and all the work and service is up to date and all had been done by a certified BMW dealership. My question to BMW is if there was recall why wasnt the rings changed out when the previous owners took the car in for service? On November 21, 2014 I called the BMW Europe number (089125016000) again and I asked for a good will to assist with getting my transmission replaced. I spoke to Christina ** who assured me that someone from the good will dept would call me back within a few days. On November 26, 2014 I called the BMW Europe number again since no one had called me. I spoke to Jasmine ** and she assured me that someone would call me back within two days. She also gave me a different number to the good will dept to call back just in case. On November 28, 2014 I called BMW Europe good will (089125016030) back and spoke to Mandy ** and she told me that it was still in review and someone would call me back by Wednesday, 3 December. On December 1, 2014 I called and no review had been done and I was told that I should wait until Wednesday for a call back. I called on December 2, 2014 and was told again that the review wasnt done and someone will get back with me. After I hung up with BMW Europe I called BMW North America and explained to the customer service rep what was going on and she transferred me to the BMW military sales dept.I have explained to everyone that I have spoken to that I am currently using a rental car, to take my children to school and go to work. The rental car is costing me more than my car note. I am in desperate need of getting my car repaired.I bought the car because of BMWs high quality standards. I was even going to trade it in before we PCSd for a X5, however, this whole situation has been nothing but a nightmare. On the afternoon of Friday 5 November 2014, three weeks of trying to contact BMW, Mr. ** from customer service finally returned my phone call. He informed me that in October of 2013 the drive box next to the transmission had been replace by BMW and that, that might be what is causing the problem and I should try to get the car towed to Praller BMW in Regensburg (about 45-60 mins away from where the car is currently at). I was so relieved to hear that. He said that they need to check the car out. I asked him was BMW going to have it towed? I had paid for towing already and I am currently paying for. Rental car, which I can not afford. I expressed to him the mechanic at Hormanns told me, that it was the transmission and that the rings in the transmission had broke and to my understanding that there was a recall on it a few years ago. He asked me for the mechanics number and that he would call me back. After about 30 minutes of waiting on a call back I called the mechanic and the receptionist told me that the BMW rep called and they they was going to have the car picked up.I called BMW back from the number of caller ID and Mr ** whole tone of voice had changed. He informed me that BMW would not pay for the towing and that it would cost me 250 euro and the new transmission would cost me 5000 euro. My heart dropped. I asked him Will BMW give me a good will to help with the cost and he told me No! The mileage is low, very low. However, the car is 7 years old and BMW only gives good will to cars up to 5 years old. I ask him to please ask his supervisor to reconsider and he told me that he has already discussed this with him and theres nothing that can be done.I asked him if I could speak to the supervisor and he told me no. I asked if I could speak to the supervisors supervisor and he told me no. I told him that I didnt understand why I was being told no considering all the services had been done on the car had been done At BMW and there is record of it. I understand the car is seven years old, however, I bought it because of the low mileage and BMWs rep for quality cars. I bought it for the driving experience. However, I am experiencing the sitting experience . I told him that if I was in the states that Im sure BMW of North America would assist me and he told me Youre in Europe, not America. You can go back to America. I told him that I was offended and I have never been treated with such disrespect. I am going to let all the soldiers and families know how I was treated. He said ok and hung up.I immediately email BMW of North America for assistance and they told me there was nothing that they can do since BMW of Europe was assisting me. I emailed them back and told them that they was not going to help me. I also informed them that I was going to seek legal advise and write a few articles in military paper to make the military community aware of what I went through. They emailed me back and told me thank for informing them of what I was going to do and do not contact them or BMW of Europe again. I am so heart broken. There are so many complaints online about people who have the same complaints about the transmission. A few of them was offered a good will through BMW of North America. I even expressed trading the car in for an X5. However, I never want to deal BMW again. Its obvious they dont care about their customers let alone US Army Soldiers!!!

I purchased a 2005 X5 last week that had been in two accidents from BMW of Oyster Bay located in Oyster Bay, Long Island. I traded in my Volvo XC90 towards purchase of the 2005 X5 grey color SUV. I brought the truck to my regular mechanic to get new front tires and my mechanic found and showed me the left and right front axles were shot and it was dangerous to drive the vehicle. So I replaced them, cost me $850 for parts alone plus labor. My mechanic also pointed out it needed lower ball joints and front control arms so I brought it back to the dealer and raised hell, How can you sell me a vehicle with all these problems? They sold me a piece of junk. They sold it to me for $16000 less my trade. I laid out 8402 dollars for the balance due. They are now fixing the vehicle and called me today to let me know they ordered air bag parts. They wont be in until Thursday. Also, I gave them a list of all the problems that have to be fixed. The drivers door has a rattle in it and closes sloppy. The front end is shot. They gave me loaner car while I wait till they fix it. They sold me a lemon.

I purchased this vehicle brand new. During the warranty period, there were issues that were resolved. However, at only 67k miles the car is no longer under warranty and starting to fall apart. My problems have been a bad blower motor, steering angle sensor and water pump. Its unfortunate that BMW strives on quality when their vehicles cannot reach 100k. From my experience, BMW is overrated and their customer service is even worse.

The BMW 300 is great for everyday driving. I love driving its 6 speed manual transmission! Its super fun to drive around town as well as long distances. The hands free features are also well designed. But, even though its a German car, its awful in the snow. We were very surprised by the poor handling in snowy conditions. We would not purchase this model again because of the climate we live in. It does not handle slick roads or snow well at all. Taking this into consideration, we might look at a different model. We really only bought it for the manual transmission.

I had actually received a piece of mail that had said my car was a recall. Now as many years as we’ve owned the car never have I ever heard or had been sent a letter of my car being a recall and we’ve been the first owners the only owners and it’s been so many years. My car is a 2001 and they’re just recently telling me about the recall which could’ve killed me and my kids and very harmful very harmful recall. Actually it is. They should’ve notified people a lot sooner because anything could happen whether it’s your fault or not your fault. Then they tell you to come in and that they will take care of it for you but they make it almost impossible for you to bring your car in and at the very end they end up making you pay for something which is supposed to be completely on their end. The customer service was horrible.

I bought a 2009 BMW X5 4.8i V8 from my son-in-law who bought it new. The car had 37,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has 87,000 miles. Half of the mileage has been on 1000 mile trips. The car has been well maintained with all recommended services throughout the period. My wife and I are over 70 and do not drive the car aggressively. Here is my repair experience with this car. All but the first occurred after the 50,000 mile warranty expired: Air conditioner hose connection leaked refrigerant -- replaced hose. Headlight washer nozzle dropped off -- replaced nozzle. Plastic water overflow tank seam separated -- replaced tank. Vacuum pump leaked -- replaced vacuum pump. Oil leaked through several front engine seals and valve covers -- replaced seals. Burnt oil of 1 quart per thousand miles, through valve seals -- replaced valve seals. Vacuum leak through fuel pump activating engine/emission light -- replaced fuel pump. Total cost for these repairs was around $15,000 over 3 years. All of the repairs were done at BMW dealerships. (This, of course, was over and above normal maintenance like oil changes, adding oil, alignments, tires, brake pads, inspections, etc.) Fortunately, I had third party extended warranty coverage. The dealership mechanics told me these problems are common with BMW V8 engines. There are several reports on the web of these same problems. While BMW touts their engineering, they obviously dont engineer seals that lasts 100,000 miles. If you are considering a used BMW V8, count on $3,000 to $5,000 in repairs a year plus typical maintenance. By the way, I generally keep a car for 200,000 miles or more. The BMW is the priciest car I have owned. It also has had more repairs up to now than any of my other cars throughout their 200,000 mile life history. The car is a nice car to drive. However, given my experience, I cannot recommend a BMW. The problems I experienced had nothing to do with the the sophistication of the design. They were all basic part failures!

BMW K1200r motorcycle - I bought the bike new in 2006; it now has 5000 miles on it and the transmission is shot. After being told by the dealer it will cost $6,000 to repair and BMW has a known issue with this transmission to the extent that they totally redesigned a new transmission that my existing clutch and associated parts will not be compatible with, they will not do anything towards customer goodwill even though they have known of this problem and never sent a notice while it was in warranty to get it checked out. Poor BMW service at Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC - When I purchased my pre-owned, certified 2006 325i, I also purchased the extended warranty which ran through to Oct. 31, 2012. Fifteen days after my warranty expired, apparently the bushing on a thrust arm (I am told) popped and was leaking some kind of viscous fluid. I was told it would cost $690.13 to repair which included realigning my car. I had, less than a month ago, purchased four new tires and a realignment to the tune of $1,200. When I complained about this happening 15 days after my warranty expired (and my car only has about 50,000 miles on it) and having just paid for a realignment, I was told they would knock off the $150 realignment and a $50 co-pay. So now I am still having to pay almost $500 for this problem. What a ripoff.I also tried to get my oil and filter changed before my service contract expired, but was not accommodated. I was told by the service rep to see him next time I brought in my car and have asked for this service while my car has been in their shop for almost a week now. Dont know if they will do this for me as they are very unaccommodating. I am still upset about their inability to accommodate me.

We leased a brand new 2011 750Li. One month later, the car lost its power, and the engine light went on. We took it to the dealership, where it stayed for 10 days! Finally, they found the problem, fixed it, and we picked up the car. We drove the car out of the Vista Service at 11AM. At 6PM the same day, the car stalled in middle of the road. We called Vista to tow it, and the car is there for already 20 days. Nobody knows how long it will be stay there. They could not even find the problem. They kept telling us stories. After probably spending thousands of dollars out of their pockets, since it is under warranty (the car is 1 month old!), they told us that a rat got under the hood, and chewed all the wires. Now, they have blamed us for it, after a month in their body shop. Now we had to make a claim with our insurance, and pay the deductible fees for it. Meanwhile, they gave us an X5 as a loaner. A couple of days ago, we went to the supermarket, walked out, and found that the rear windshield was broken. Now, the dealership does not want to exchange the loaner, and I have to drive it with the broken window, with a 1 year old child in it, and a stroller full of glass. The insurance company is laming the dealership, and we have to pay another $500 for the window, and I even cannot exchange the cars after I paid. The worst dealership in the world. The salesperson was the best-James **, no hard feelings, you are the best! What cannot say about James ** in service department. The brand new car has been in service for more than 30 days.

BMW 750i xdrive run flat tires and wheels - I have lost 5 new front pirelli run flat tires within the 6 month. In addition one of my wheel cracked and I had to replace it as well. Evidently BMW command center that pushing these run flat tires dont care about their customers. These run flat tires might be good for European autobahns but not for road conditions in East Coast. I have changed the plans of purchasing BMW for my son. No anymore BMW. I have replaced the tires to non run flat. In addition to it BMW claims that run flat can run another 50 miles after damaged is not simply true - it barely runs 10 miles max before start damaging the rim. In addition BMW emergency service does not deliver anything emergency except being polite on the phone. I will be selling out my BMW as soon as I can get rid of it. Leased a 2013 328xi, brand new, off the lot! Loved the car for the first six months until I was driving one day and the car shut off while driving down a back road. An error code read on the screen, so I called BMW. They manually reset the code, car started right up and drove home. I didnt think anything of it until a month later, Im driving 70 miles on the highway and the car shuts off again! Called BMW and drove the car directly to the dealership. They had the car for a week and couldnt replicate the issue and blamed it on the cold winter we were having even though the car is garaged. Fast-forward another 3 months.. Its spring, warm outside and car shuts down again driving on the highway. This time, almost got into an accident and since I was close to the dealership, drove right there. I refused to take the car back until they figured out the cause, and cold weather wasnt to blame. They had the car almost a full month and couldnt replicate the issue. They claim that there was a loose rear distribution box and fuel pump. Three weeks later, car is back in for check engine light. I get the car back but called corporate BMW and got a complete runaround. Three times in one year the car shuts off, COMPLETELY UNSAFE! After a month of going back and forth with a resolution specialist, BMW refuses to terminate the lease and offers a credit for money toward the lease. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Still trying to climb the corporate ladder and find someone to speak to. What happens if the next shut off cause an accident?? They dont care, no customer service, and no regard for safety. 2006 BMW 5501 - I purchased my car new from Santa Barbara, CA dealer in December 2006. I paid over $60,000. By the end of 2010, I noticed the paint on hood was fading and a white cloud began to appear. I took it to the dealer, who did not have any suggestions and thought it might be from car washes. But there was nothing they could do, it was not covered by the warranty. It got worse and spread to the roof of the car (but the sides and back look like brand new). I had another shop look at it. He said waxing would do me no good, that the car would have to be repainted and that the car was likely damaged when it was brought in on the boat. They probably repaired it and in doing so, had to repaint or touch up the paint, altering the original paint job and the clear coat finish. I have brought the paint condition to the dealer both in person and in writing, but I get the same answer - not warranted. In addition, the rubber around both my front and rear windshields has totally disintegrated. There is nothing left. I brought this to the attention of the dealer. I was told my car was out of warranty. Other BMW owners have told me they have experienced the same. This seems to be a common problem. You would think BMW could afford to use a higher quality rubber on their vehicles. I have had several issues with this car. A bad exhaust smoking problem, while my car was under warranty, which took months of complaint writing to the dealer as well as BMW North America to finally have them diagnose the problem and make the repair. I love driving the car and the BMW look, but I am so disappointed with the quality and the service of BMW. For the amount of money they charge and the advertisements regarding ultimate driving machine, you would think they would do better in the customer relationship department and stand behind their product.

Im experiencing the famous, and very common coolant pipe leak issue in the 7 series. And I recently discovered that there are tons of others who have this problem. I want to know what can be done to keep BMW from brushing this issue off and make them do a recall. Is it class action lawsuit?!

I have a 2004 BWM X5 4.4, sticker price of just under $66K in 2004 dollars. In August 2014 I installed a BMW trailer hitch so I could tow my travel trailer. I ordered the wiring harness for the lights at that time. They had been on BO nationally and in Germany for months at that point. Today Im told by BMWNA customer relations that BMW will no longer be providing that part for the older X5s. Im SOL.Its past their mandatory 10 federal regulation, so if you dont like it buy a new model to tow anything with. I currently own: 1999 BMW M Coupe, 2004 BMW X5, 2005 BMW K 1200LT. Previous: 2007 BMW K1200GT, 2002 BMW K1200RS, 2009 BMW R1200GS, 1995 BMW 318, 2004 BMW 750. Do you think I will buy another one? Is this any way to treat customers? Is a 10 Year old $66K vehicle really disposable? Shame on BMW for their practices and policies. Anyone else interested in filing a class action lawsuit?

I have a BMW X3 2005 Model with approximately 60,000 miles. On 2-7-12, the heated seat caught on fire and burned a hole through the leather seat the size of a cigar. I contacted the local dealership and they said there was no recall on this subject. This raises a great concern to me, as you can imagine, a number of instances could happen with this defect; car catching on fire, car accident, burns, and etc. I am requesting some information and assistance to this matter.

BMW keyless engine continues to run when car is locked. BMW have not responded to emails, the local garage booked the car in to see if they could accommodate the mirror folding but said the engine issue was a known issue that BMW have decided not to do anything about. They were also unable to sort the mirror issue out telling me l should have brought another extra which would have made that possible?

Many performance positives, however, an electronic/electrical nightmare with a price tag out of this world for every ** little thing. And the damn thing is only 3 years old with 50k miles on it! And when you call BMW HQ if you had anyone but the dealers touch it’s then they are not responsible. ** THEM! I will never own another BMW as long as I live, nor will anyone directly related to me. On the other hand if you buy one you deserve every headache you get... and you WILL get them!!! Cant wait to get rid of this damn thing.

I purchased a Custom 530i series in 2005. The car has been the best in performance and care. We only just recently had to invest $ into the car and it has 119000 miles on it and that was for brakes. The only issue I have to complain is replacing tires every 2 years. Yes the handling is awesome BUT they should warn you that it wears on tires more than the average car.

Purchased a 2015 BMW X5. Three weeks later it stalled on the highway. Dealership said it was a fuel pump issue would be two weeks. Vehicle has less than 600 miles on it. Problem must be across the fleet because there is zero balance in the US. This is unacceptable.

Purchased a 2006 750li with 36k miles. Had it 8 months so far, in what I thought was good condition only to find out that its riddled with problems and manufacturer defects. First, key fob went dead, required car to be towed to the dealer losing a week of use and $1500. Two months later, the water pump went out and was informed that the vacuum pump was leaking oil. The control arm bushings were bad and the power brake was leaking as well. $9500 later everything was supposed to be fixed, a week into the repair the restraint system developed a fault. Reading online, it seems not only that BMW is aware of the problem but recalled the power brake issue and the restraint system issue, however, when calling BMW of Dallas, I was informed they could not cover the repairs. When I mentioned previous repairs they said these are normal wear items. Since when do all the control arm bushings, vacuum pump and water pump go out at 40k miles. I paid a lot of money for this car and expect BMW to honor their vehicles problems instead of pointing fingers and trying to put blame elsewhere. I am being quoted $2200 for a new seat belt module bringing my grand total repair bill to over $15000.00 for a car thats worth $30k. I understand normal wear and maintenance but the repairs in question should not be considered wear and tear at this stage or mileage in the vehicles run.

To begin, I have wanted a BMW for years but always talked myself out of one. But several months ago I traded my reliable Chevrolet in and got a BMW (2011 328i) that was a year older. I had the car for 1 week and had a problem. It was making a very loud whining sound. Turned the car off and it didnt make the noise again and no codes came up when they checked it in the shop. Following six months later, the sound is back, this time I recorded it before shutting the car off. Again, sound was gone when I restarted the car. Happened again two days later. Got it into the shop by calling every person in management whose name I could get a hold of at the dealership - it wasnt easy getting the car in! Two weeks later I get the car back - they replaced a head gasket seal (?). The car did not have the same get up and go and the steering now felt very heavy and/or stiff. I go back and they say my car is fine. I had just gotten use to the electric steering and power of the 2015 loaner I was driving. Another two weeks go by and I was telling myself that BMW was full of BS and I needed to get the car back in there for them to make it right, but I am busy and hadnt even been able to make the phone call. A few days after my thoughts of getting the car back in, a salesman text me and says the GM says hes giving cars away today, come down and they will get me that 2015. I replied and told them to be real and they had a lot of nerve contacting me considering my car still wasnt right. They immediately called me and the GM asked me to give them one more chance and he would make it my best car buying experience ever. Okay, so I end up with a 2015, 20 miles on it. Lacks the amenities of seat warmers, sun roof, satellite radio, and GPS, all of which I have always had in my cars but I figured no $ out of pocket, payment I can afford and brand new reliable car - for a single mom/student/employed woman that was a pretty sweet deal. Now, at 3,000 miles my car is giving me problems and I need to get it in the shop before I get stranded somewhere. When its cold, I can barely make it out of the driveway in the morning or hot afternoon. The best way I can describe it is it feels like its flooding out and not going anywhere - kind of like trying to run a lawn mower or motorcycle with the choke on. On top of that, the motor sounds like a cheap old jalopy vehicle. I wanted BMW because I thought they were a quality vehicle, sure to be reliable - I should have done my research. I loved that you could get in a BMW that had 85000 miles on it and they didnt have a single rattle and I loved the smoothness and comfort of the drive. I now have to admit, this was one of the stupidity decisions I have ever made! :( I need to.figure out a way to go back to the reliability of Chevrolet or Ford!
