This Is The Facelifted 2023 Hyundai Venue
Posted On: June 9, 2022
Hyundai seems to have its hands very full at the moment. For a start, it is expanding into the metaverse. The Korean automaker is also investing a fortune in its bid to dominate the global EV landscape. At the same time, it is sending hydrogen-powered trucks to our shores. Clearly, a lot is going on, but none of this has distracted the automaker from its chief objective: selling new cars. One of the cars it offers in need of an update is the Hyundai Venue, and if the reveal of the Indian-market model is anything to go by, the 2023 variant will be brilliant. Before we get too excited, it's worth remembering that we may not get the same features with our Venue. That being said, we have no reason to doubt that we could get the same updates and more. So what are these updates? Let's start with the styling. Both the front and rear ends of the car have been restyled and, in keeping with current trends at Hyundai's design department, the grille now has its own take on the parametric grille seen on the Tucson. In addition, this larger grille now has a Dark Chrome frame. The upper housings for the park lights and indicator lights are longer than before and have a smoother design. The lower headlight housings look all but unchanged, but the lower grille is new and is complemented by the addition of a faux skid plate. At the rear, full-width taillights have been added with modern graphics, while the bumper has been restyled to mimic the new front. Inside, a new infotainment system adds remote features like door locking, climate control, location, and tire pressure, among other things. Further enhancing comfort for those in the car is the addition of two-step reclining seats to the second row. Alexa and Google Voice Assistant are offered, with both English and Hindi languages making the car more attractive to Indian buyers. The digital cluster reveals three driving modes too, and a new feature called "Sounds of Nature" is intended to help make traffic less stressful. Engine options are predicted to remain the same. The official debut of the car is scheduled for June 16, at which point we hope to learn what the US-spec model will offer.

Since purchasing a used 2011 sonata I have dealt with a few recalls. One for metal debris may not have been fully removed from the crankshaft area during manufacturing causing knocking noise. My Sonata sounds like dozens of marbles flying around in the engine yet it was given a clean bill of health on this recall. They did however recommend replacing my front brakes prior to me leaving but I declined since I just got new tires and already knew I had quite some time left on the brakes. By the way it was 18 months before needing the front brakes. Totally bad reflection on the dealer service manager at Suntrup Hyundai in st. louis.Second recall was for powertrain -- the transmission shift cable may detach from the shift lever pin. This happened to me at a supermarket only I had no idea about the recall. Tried to start car but it would not turn over at all. I noticed the dash board showed the car in Drive but it was in park. That seemed strange. Got a tow truck to take car to dealer after trying to jump it. Dealer called and told me it needed a new battery which I could not believe since the tow truck tried to jump it and failed. So, I went ahead and replaced the battery and When I picked the car up the dealer told me they also fixed a recall with the transmission cable shift lever pin. I pointed out that was what happened to me at the supermarket. Car showed it was in drive but it was really in park and it would not start. They basically lied and replaced the battery that did not need replacing and it was the recall all along that caused the car not to start. Once again this is a dealer service manager problem. Clearly a big problem with Suntrup Hyundai in St Louis.Third was today. MDPS ECU replacement. Electric Power assist causes power steering to go out without notice. They fixed mine today but informed me that I needed a Steering coupler which would cost 350.00. I told Tim that nothing about the steering was broke so why would I need to do that. I left but as soon as I started the car and pulled out, I had to go back into the service counter. I told Tim the steering was screwed up bad. He said that he already explained to me that it was a separate issue and the computer was just compensating for the loose steering. How about that it was fine when I brought it in for the recall and it was given back to me broken. The steering is so loose that you can blow on it to make it turn. It must be twice as dangerous now as before. So unbelievable of a story that it seems made up.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with less than 75,000 miles. I was driving and when you got up to 2500 rpms, the motor started clattering then the engine light came on then went off again. So I parked it and took it to the mechanic today, Monday 8/11/14. They checked it and I need a new motor. The oil was low 2 quarts apparently and it doesnt leak and the oil light didnt even come on. I THINK THERES A PROBLEM HERE AND HYUNDAI NEEDS TO DO A RECALL! Now its going to cost 3500 to get another motor that has 85,000 miles.

Just bought a brand new 2019 Hyundai and was sold on the Blue Link features that supposedly came with the car for three years free. Well, after the paperwork was completed the salesman tried to sign us up on the MyHyundai site. The registration would not go through and they requested a bunch of documents, I suppose to prove we actually bought the car. Now, three days later, they are still not happy and want copies of mine and my wifes drivers licenses. Well, I am so insulted by Hyundai customer service I wish I could take the car back. I pray I never have a real problem, I can just imagine how I will be treated. Starting to look for an aftermarket remote start for my new 36k Hyundai.

Car lost power while driving down the interstate and engine started to run very roughly. Took it to the closest dealership on my next day off who called me the NEXT day to tell me that I could come and get the car, but its not fixed because they dont have a fault code to be able to fix an issue, even though they can clearly see that the car isnt running correctly. Car is still under warranty, but wont run, and Im supposed to just bring it home??? Does that make any sense to you?? IDIOTS! Then the service advisor goes as far as to try and sell me a tune-up... ON A CAR THAT WONT RUN! RIDICULOUS!Customer care, not much help there either. They tell me a manager will contact me in 3 to 5 business days. I also bought an extended warranty that NO ONE CAN FIND under my VIN #. How does that work? Every other manufacturer has always been able to see my warranty info listed by the VIN#.... why not Hyundai? All this sounds like HUGE runaround tactics to me. You got me once Hyundai, but never again. Should have stuck to HONDA, Ive had 3 of them and never any issues. Very dissatisfied.

I recently sent my 2010 AWD to repair the front ends because of it being very noisy. I had the rotors change and brake pads changed and the suspension link fixed. When I got the vehicle, it drove just perfect. It cost me over $500.00 to fix the front ends. No noise and felt very firm. About 2 weeks after, the noise started again like it was never fixed. My warranty just expired in March 2015. That was about the 3rd time I had to take it in for the front ends. Now what shall I do???

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra from Tuttle Click Dodge in Tustin. There they had a sticker posted with 39 hwy mph. My car gets no more than 24 mph on the freeway going 65 steady in the right lane with Chevron gas. I have taken it to 5 different Hyundai dealers complaining about the issue almost right away. They all shrugged their shoulders and told me they couldnt find a problem. That the digital eco meter is a dummy gauge and doesnt give accurate numbers. Then why do they match my manual calculations? Finally after I showed them the website where I found out about the class action lawsuit did they admit... oh ya your car does have a mileage problem. Oh ya... we already lost the lawsuit. We will waste a ton of your time, and then say sorry you are not original owner and therefore not eligible for gas reimbursement! Today I took my horrible Hyundai to the dealer and they gave it back to me with a huge scratch on the door. Also, my newish Hyundai with only 20,000 miles makes a ton of noises and the check engine light came on.

The car drives fine, however am having a lot of issues with headlights and taillights having to be replaced. Not really happy with it. Headrests push head forward causing continual discomfort. Windshield angle makes it hard to clean windshield and dashboard. I also wish there were added wide view rear view mirror, or side mirrors that would show blind spots. Even so, I like having controls for my music on the steering wheel. Its a nice safety feature. I also like the number of miles/gallons feature. Nice to have a quick visual of how far you can still drive on the gas you have. Like the Bluetooth connection as well.

Dealer says NO, theyre only authorized to pull it out and ship it somewhere for repair, could take 2 weeks, could take a month with no map, no radio, no electronics as its all tied together. We were carefully followed an advertised special and confirmed the information very precisely with the sales agent so as not to waste our time. But once we were at the dealership in Houston we were extremely disappointed and sickened by repeatedly being lied to by every level of the dealership. This is not a good company. Their policy is not honest and is very tricky and trying to avoid fulfilling the offers they make. We are not easily fooled but they tried very hard to say one thing and do another. You would be better off avoiding this company altogether! We are really very shocked and would like to prevent anyone from wasting their precious time by believing Hyundai is trustworthy!

New I10 Not Working: This is to inform you that I had purchased a new Hyundai i10 Asta on 11th April 2012. The vehicle was registered under registration no. **, and the same was delivered to me at 7pm on 11th April 2012. After taking possession of the car, I left for my residence at Naigaon. As I was closing towards Naigaon, my vehicle stopped working after a run of just 68 kms and was completely dead. I parked the vehicle and next day, I called up their call center and complained for the same. I was given a complaint no. (job no. **). Their technician, Mr. **, reached the spot and inspected the vehicle. After nearly working for two hours on the vehicle, he reported that the vehicle cannot be repaired as it would not start; hence, it had to be towed to their Thane workshop. He called certain concerned people, asked for a tow van and gave a report form giving details as vehicle not starting, alternator problem, taken by towing. From there onwards, my turmoil to get my vehicle repaired started. I called up the showroom from where I had purchased my vehicle and spoke to their sales manager, Mr. **, tel no. **, who promptly shifted his responsibilities to Mr. **, tel no. **, stating he is the technical in charge and will be able to help me out. On contacting him for two days, I got only one reply from him that we are trying to locate the fault. On pressing him to give me a proper status of my vehicle, he abruptly said that he was not concerned about it and was just trying to help me out and I should be contacting their technical in charge of Thane workshop, Mr. **, mobile no. **, as the vehicle was in their possession. After explaining to Mr. ** the entire case, he to promised to come back and report the same. As I did not get any response from him in the next 24 hours, I called him back on which he told me his assistant, Mr. **, will keep me updated of the status. I waited for another 24 hours waiting desperately for his call. I called Mr. ** and informed him that I have not received any call from Mr. **, on which he was very courteous of giving me his mobile no. ** (Mr. **). He called me up in the next 10 minutes and Mr. ** was the first person to update me that the vehicle had some alternator problem which they will replace and the vehicle should be ready by 16th April evening. After calling him again in the evening for my vehicles delivery, he told me that there were still some problems with the new alternator as the current was fluctuating and the vehicle needs further inspection for a day. I asked him if I could speak to someone senior but he could not provide me with any. In my desperation, I went to the Hyundai site address and got the number of M/S **, assistant manager, western division regional office, tel no. 022 40969000. On speaking to her, I thought I am coming close to solving my problem who promised me that she will look in to the matter and come back within an hour. After contacting her after an hour, she told me that I will see that my regional manager will personally look in to my case and by tomorrow, she will be coming to some solution. On 17th April, I tried to call M/S ** but I couldnt go through her tel. no. But I got a call from Mr. ** stating that the alternator replaced was also defective and they were waiting for a new alternator to arrive. This probably was the peak of any company being so irresponsible and hence, I once again called and told M/S ** that I do not wish to take a repaired vehicle, where their best technicians as claimed could not locate the problem in nearly six days for a brand new vehicle which was used for only three hours and approximately 70 kms. After purchasing a brand new vehicle and it stopping within three hours of delivery and me desperately calling nearly 125 times to their six top company representatives in the last six days and going in to hardship like getting stranded in the middle of the night and using a car on rental for the last seven days, my problem has no solution as I was forwarded to one more executive Mr. ** (**) by M/S ** as she had to go to Pune and could not attend to my problem. Last but not the least, Mr. ** has once again promised to look in to the matter fairly. As a customer, I dont deserve to suffer like this whereby I will be forced to address my complaint to the Consumer Forum as no solutions are seen.

My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Hyundai Sonata. We purchased this car because my wife commuted to work about 80 miles one way and liked the fact that it had the 100,000 mile warranty on the engine. The car has been great mechanically but now the exterior door handles are breaking off. I have since found out from 2 different dealerships that this is a known problem and was directed to file complaints with Hyundai and my Attorney General’s Office. Hyundai did contact me to address the complaint but refuse to offer any kind of assistance to repair the handles. I would not recommend this car to anyone looking to purchase one. This is not an isolated case. It is a known problem.

I have a santa fe sport and sonata purchased within 1 year of each other. There have been several warranty issues on both cars. The company is horrible to deal with. MOst recently I called the company because of the issues I had with the dealership and they were no help because the dealerships are all independent, but the next closest dealership is over 1 hour away and you have to go to a dealer for warranty issues. When I spoke to their customer service about rental reimbursement for warranty issues, they said they do that, but dont guarantee (since it may not be a warranty issue and they dont know for sure until the car is fixed). I asked if there was a certain type of car I needed to rent and they said no and said it would be ok to get something similar to the car I own and that would be considered when issuing reimbursement. So I got a mid size SVU rental because I have a santa fe sport and then they would only reimburse about half of what I paid. If they would have been up front with me and said, the max we reimburse is $** then I would have tried to find a cheaper rental. So my warranty repair cost me over $200 in rental fees.

Interiors Malfunction - Front LHS window Switch in broken condition, 4.Tyre pressure issue, weak nozzle.Apart for the delivery issues, the below additional fittings were not given to me at the time of delivery (as promised by the Sales Agent, when I booked the Vehicle). 1.Parking Sensor not installed, 2.Window visor not installed, 3.Seat Cover Different from what was promised to me at the time of sale.Hope you can understand the reason for my frustration and feeling of insult, the car that you sold to me has issues in all departments, engine, wheels, interiors, seats, you name it and you can find a defect in it. I purchased my first brand new Hyundai Excel in 1988 and it is still on the road so I took a shot and purchased a brand new Hyundai Accent. The Hyundai Accent runs smoothly and most of all, is not a gas-guzzler. Because I still have the Excel and other vehicles, I do not drive the Accent during the winter months. What I enjoy most about the Hyundai Accent, is yes, it gets great gas mileage but it drives like a luxury vehicle with lots of speed. Colorado roads are in bad need of repair but the Accent drives over most of the unavoidable potholes with ease. The drivers seat is comfortable as well as both the front and back passenger seats. I highly recommend the Accent because it has not caused me any major problems. I keep up with the general maintenance of oil change and tire rotation. I think the makers of Hyundai are doing a great job!

They would not do that but also could not fix it so he was without a car for two months until they filed for the lemon law. The dealer was rude to them like this was their fault. They called Hyundai and they would not do anything either. All they wanted was what they bought two cars not one. A work associate of my husbands who also bought a Hyundai from the same dealer had similar issues but it took a year for the engine to finally seize. He had taken the car to the dealer several times about the engine but they never fixed it or admitted there was a problem. There was a recall for 2011-2012 Hyundai’s for engine issues and seems like they have the same issue with 2018 models.

I have a HYUNDAI 2013 HYBRID SONATA. From as soon as 2 weeks after delivery
I have a HYUNDAI 2013 HYBRID SONATA. From as soon as 2 weeks after delivery, I knew the car wasnt right. Gas mileage never near supposed to be. Told due to break-in period. Hyundai engineers say no break-in period. Car hesitates, stalls, brakes lock as well crappy gas mileage. Well been complaining ever since after the break-in period. Then its the way I drive, weather conditions, etc. Finally a noise from the EV motor and then the gas mileage drops another 200 miles per tank bringing me to about 25 miles gal. The noise Im told is the electric water pump. One has been ordered and I ask, Can that be the smoking gun? The service rep. says no. Now being a lay person, I know more about these cars than I ever wanted to mechanically and obviously more than the mechanics employed to service. Common sense tells me theres a correlation and lo and behold so do the articles when I google water pump failure and hybrid though not Sonata. Yes hybrid. All my complaints and issue are shown to be part of the electric water pump again in different automaker but hybrid. Now theres 13,000 miles on car and Im sure this water pump was bad from the get go so what damage could it have caused to the hybrid system? I dont care to find out going after lemon law as this is the 4th time in and now I hope to be able to prove its not me nor the elements all cars operate under. The car is bad. My car mimics the problems found for the 2012 hybrid. Wonder if the first production of 2013 may have carry over issues. So anyone experiencing problems may want to wait till you hear the buzzing of the bad electric water pump. Its an obvious annoying noise. *I ASKED THE DEALER, REALLY, DO YOU THINK IM BACK AGAIN BECAUSE LIFE IS BORING? IF YOU DO, YOURE SADLY MISTAKEN. And no, its not found on computer or diagnostic review. They told me they follow the noise. So having it checked. I dont know how you could do this without paying on your own to replace. Just keep bring it back so you tally those request. Hopefully you meet lemon law outline. My $25,000 headache is a full time job tracking tach pictures at fill up and keep records... Good luck

I have a 2008 Hyundai Elantra that is slipping out of the park gear. My car is still under warranty and I took it to the dealership to get it looked at. The dealership put in a request to the main Hyundai office to have this replaced or fixed; they rejected the request and advised me to use the hand brake. I contacted the Hyundai office about this and they were very rude and told me this is normal on any cars. What can I do about this very serious issue?

Purchased a 2014 Hyundai Equus with 71 miles on odometer and Hyundai Motor America said I not entitled to 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as a second owner. Car purchased on Aug 1, 2015, and although manual provides for mandatory arbitration through Auto Line at BBB, I have been systematically denied an opportunity to argue my warranty rights. It has now been 11 months and despite countless calls to customer care office and a detailed letter to new CEO of Hyundai, he has not responded at all! Never! The manager at customer care, known only as Steve, said my case warranted an exception and he would send all my paperwork to legal dept. of Hyundai in California. Said in February, 2016 a decision would be prompt. After following up several times due to no response, Steve has settled upon a course of action to not speak to me or share legal departments evaluation. Nobody should buy a Hyundai and probably a Kia for reasons that an honest dispute will not even be considered and Hyundai refuses to authorize the Better Business Bureau to arbitrate a warranty matter it believes it has no jurisdiction over. The BBB representative said “Just ask Hyundai to approve.” and Susanne said she would not. And Dave Duchowski, the CEO refused to intercede or reply to my fully particularized letter dated March 10, 2016. My intention is to publish a series of editorials nationally and to pursue a criminal complaint with Brian Frosh, the Attorney General for Maryland.

I loved my Hyundai Sonata for the first couple of years. Had a couple of minor issues, but nothing major. After that, things started to go wrong - full throttle pump had to be replaced ($1000) dollars. Last week I hit 100,000 miles on my car. Then the next day the check engine light went on. Took it to the mechanic and they said it was something with the oil pump. They cleaned it, did an oil change, light went off. Next day, light came back on. Took it back, they replaced the part and when they took it for a test drive, the engine began seizing up. They told me it needed a new engine. Had it towed to dealership. They also said it needed a new engine. They told me that since it was over warranty, there would be no coverage. They informed me that the goodwill warranty determination would have to come from Hyundai manufacturing. Hyundai manufacturing told me it was determined by the dealership. I called the dealership again and they sent me back to Hyundai manufacturing.

I was a Hyundai customer for almost 15 years. I really liked my 2015 Genesis and was looking to get another Hyundai potentially upon turning in my lease. The dealership I leased from called me constantly to bring my car in early and told me I could get a better lease. I went into the dealership and they had nothing to offer me for a better lease that was close to the car I had and in fact they were quoting me a $150/month more for a lesser vehicle! Even after I left the dealership without a deal the same dealership kept calling me to come in as if they didnt know that I had gone there already. Terrible service! On top of all that, I tried returning my lease after finding a better deal and service at a Mazda dealership. All the local dealerships refused to take my car in at first! Finally, after a variety of different calls I was able to get the closest dealer to take my car in. Such a ridiculous process that I would probably not lease another Hyundai again.

I have had nothing but issues since I bought this car. I bought a 2015 Elan
I have had nothing but issues since I bought this car. I bought a 2015 Elantra Sport, with 800 miles on it in October of 2015. Seemed like a great car. I got a good deal (I paid 18,000), its a top trim level so hopefully the quality would be good. First thing that happened, the dealership insisted I change the oil every 3,000 miles. The service manual clearly states 7,500 mile intervals. They scolded me and told me to bring it in more often. Okay fine, whatever.Second, the dealership did a recall repair (I never approved, they just did it) to my sunroof, which resulted in a damaged headliner, AND they dropped a screw in my defroster vent that I could hear roll around as I would make corners. I took it back and Hyundai approved replacing the headliner. They also took the dash apart to retrieve the screw. The work order said removed debris, the tech didnt remember what he took out. It also still rattled and then produced a different rattle above 75 MPH. (So much more higher quality coming from the top end trim level). I should note they had the car for several days, no loaner car was given.Next, I noticed my steering column was loose after they disassembled my dash. I could move it side to side. Also the clutch squeaked when you released it. And the dash still rattled. So I took it back in. several days later and no rental car, the steering column was within spec, they couldnt replicate the clutch squeak, and they werent allowed to fix rattles and squeaks past 5,000 miles or something like that (came from the service manager). Next issue, the AC goes out. Its Texas. Its July. Its hot. Can i get a loaner car? No. They werent sure if it could be fixed under warranty (30,000 miles now). How is this not under warranty?! They had the car for several days. Turned out the AC compressor failed internally so it was replaced under warranty. No loaner car. Now, most recently. The car has 59,700 miles. The engine starts to make a noise that sounds like a high speed rattle. My guess was the water pump impeller rubbing. So I took it into a different dealership. This time they cant diagnose it, but its easy to replicate so there is no doubt theres a problem. 5 days goes by and they finally set me up with a rental car through Enterprise. One month goes by and they tell me they are going to replace the engine. That opened up a whole new set of issues. Apparently, the engine in my two year old car is now obsolete. Instead of buying a long block crate engine (like they originally told me) they are buying a short block and sending the engine off to an outside repair shop to build it.I went to the dealership to look at the engine (I do a lot of car repair, and Im a Mechanical Engineer). The timing chain is hanging slack and theyve removed one of the camshaft retainers. The car is parked outside, with no valve cover. Lovely. They tell me the engine is being replaced due to lack of lubrication (very vague and general). My guess was broken timing chain tensioner. I saw no low pressure light, and there was no presence of metal in the oil during the last oil change (I had a sample sent to a lab for analysis). They told me that its a good thing I brought it in when I did. Because my Powertrain Warranty Expires at 60,000 miles! Apparently, because I bought it used the 100,000 mile warranty doesnt apply to me.Well that was it. Im getting rid of the car. I asked them to give me a price on what theyd buy it from me for. They responded with because its having major engine work, we can only give you $6,000. So basically. A $24,000 car, in two years, and 60,000 miles, becomes worth 25% of its original value. I am never buying another Hyundai.

I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Sonata from the Liberty Hyundai dealership in New Hudson, MI and experienced engine problems about a year later. I took the car into the dealership and was told I would receive a loaner car when they got some in stock. After continuously calling for a few days, I was told they still didnt have any loaners. After a while they called and told me that I could not get a loaner because they needed authorization to tear down my engine. So basically the service department manager lied about giving me one in the first place. He then told me his rep authorized to tear down my engine to see what was the cause of it not running correctly and burning oil. They told me I had sludge in my engine and the oil was never changed even though I have receipts to prove the oil was changed. The manager then said the place I got it changed from really didnt change the oil and I would have to go back to them. He then said as a result, my warranty was void and it would cost me $4,200-$8,000 to replace my engine. This was not the only problem I had with this dealership. The service manager also told me there is a recall on my car. I asked if they fixed the problem for the recall and he said, “No, unless we have the engine fixed.” When I first bought the car, they told me about a tire warranty, which is also a waste of money! They told me how great it was, and that if anything goes wrong with any of my tires, the company that offers the insurance would come out change my tire and cover expenses. I learned firsthand that wasn’t true at all. I had a flat tire and called the insurance company. They told me I needed to take it in to a reputable tire place such as Belle Tire. I took it to Belle Tire and had to pay for a new tire. The insurance company told me they wouldn’t pay for the replacement, and I come to find out if they did, it would be as a reimbursement. I was only happy that the flat tire didn’t happen when I was driving or on the side of the road, because they wouldn’t have come out to my location immediately. I am absolutely displeased and angered by their service! It seemed as soon as I pulled into the service department for them to look at the car, they were not trying to help - they were telling me lies and saying anything just so they wouldnt have to fix it. Not only will I never buy from Hyundai again, I will tell those who ask me about getting a Hyundai that it is not worth the trouble. Lord forbid something goes wrong, and it will with their cars, because they will not fix it.

2008 Hyundai Sonata - Driving to work 2 weeks ago, I noticed the rear end of the car felt strange, some movement in the rear end. As I was driving something happened in the rear of the car. I knew I was going to wreck - my car moved so quickly and spun to right, knocking me out. From my understanding of the wreck from a man who observed the wreck - I flipped multiple times, was on my side, landed upside down and slid upside down fast and for some distance and hit a tree (?), a stump came up inside the car - Jaws of Life had to remove me. I am recovering and a guardian angel had to be with me to have survived this horrible wreck - something happened in the rear of the car - there is a recall for a crossbar in the rear suspension that can erode due to snow, salt etc...?

2011 Sonata - I complained about the trunk opening for no reason. Nothing was ever done. I was told to not put the two keys together in my pocket or leave them together at any time. Most of the time I was looked at like I had two heads. I told the manager to look on the computer and see how many people were complaining about the same problem. Then I was told to bring in the car for them to look it over. I had the same problem with the 2009 Sonata, and after a bring-in service, I was told the problem was fixed. It continued! The problem is my wife who is handicapped loves this car. She doesnt feel comfortable in many cars because of the legroom. I am disgusted and I am looking to get rid of this car. Any suggestions?

In late April 2012, I bought a LIMITED EDITION TUCSON. What I particularly was interested in was the bluetooth technology with hands-free calling and the ability to load all my IPhone 5 contacts in the bluetooth/navigation/radio part. And I also had owned an Elantra for 10 years, so I was a repeat customer and looking forward to owning another, more updated. This March 4th, I brought my car in for an oil change and for the Auto Butler service that I had paid extra for (total car clean). When my car was ready, I noticed that the lights were on, so I when I attempted to turn them off, they were already off. So after a few tries, the master technician gave it a try also only to be stumped. He did NOT know WHY the lights were not turning off. Keep in mind that this car has just been serviced and everything was OK. So, he took it back in the shop & said hed have to call a Tech at Headquarters somewhere for advice. After having been there from 9 am and now it was 2:30, I just could no longer hang around that dealership so I asked for a rental. The next day, I got a call that they had found the source. It was a faulty FUSE BOX. Thats like the main electric box outside our homes. When does THAT break down? I asked what caused it many times and they have no answer. They dont know. So I asked how come when I brought my car in for an oil change & car wash - everything was fine - and when its complete, this huge event happens. They cannot (or will not) tell me how it happened or what could have caused it!!! A mystery I am not willing to live with. What if that happens again when Im on a highway or out of state? That would drain the battery and more things could happen. So I am VERY UNHAPPY with that occurrence. The next thing is that when I bought my car, the bluetooth paired with my IPhone fine and I was able to sync my contacts. All of a sudden, about a month ago, my contacts were no longer able to remain synced and so I am unable to use the hands-free calling feature for which I bought this car and I must say for the SERVICE so well advertised. Here again - there is no answer to this problem. They are aware that it is happening, mainly because they have not upgraded the bluetooth since I bought the car and their solution is: WERE WORKING ON IT. In the meantime, what do I do?I asked for some type of compensation: a new Tucson (that might have the later version)..., an upgraded car for a reasonable price.... something! But to no avail. I was told by the Gen. Manager that he would like me to drop by to see him, so he can buy me a cup of coffee!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?? So those of you thinking of buying a HYUNDAI, think again. After Ive read all of these reviews, it is really sad to see how things have turned out for this company that used to be #1 in service. Now they really dont care! And neither should we!

Driving a new 2019 Tuscon Elite AWD. Car is good but had a alignment/steering issue from day one. Issue was addressed after four attempts and four months, although at a Ford Dealership. No issue with vehicle or even local dealerships. Issue for me is with the parent support team in CA. After months of steering issue finally opened a case with Hyundai Corporate. Cutting to chase, the folks in corporate are rude, did zero to help or expedite addressing issue and essentially deflected any liability what-so-ever. They opened a case I thought to help me, then never followed up, returned calls, answered emails - absolutely nothing! So again decent SUV, great value, but absolutely the 100% worst national customer support line Ive ever had the dissatisfaction of working with. If you a like a good value, then Hyundai is a safe bet. If if you also like a fair and open OEM who is concerned with customer feedback with new car issues, then run as fast as you can from Hyundai based on this writers firsthand experience.

With less than 600 miles on my new Equus, it is in the shop because of a failed valve cover gasket, so I am told. It obviously was leaking when I bought it, as the very next morning, I was cleaning up oil drips from my garage floor. Because I bought it from a dealer some distance from my home, they could not see the evidence of oil leakage and opined that I was seeing air conditioner condensate from a drain line in the vicinity of the area I described as the problem area. After a few more days, and a trip I already had committed to, I got my local Hyundai dealer to pick it up and take a look. They called back and claiming to be astounded, confirmed that the fluid was indeed oil and was coming from a leaking valve cover gasket. I really like the car, but am not the least happy that I now have a vehicle whose engine has had to be repaired, though not the real guts of the machine. Still, as what is held out as their super luxury, top-of-the-line vehicle, this is a pretty damning circumstance. Who was asleep on the production or parts supply line? Anyone else have similar engine quality issues? I have not heard back because the parts must be ordered and then installed. Stand by. SO far, I havent been able to judge the service response.

Purchased car new in March 2013. Had towed to shop for repairs when brakes failed in May 2013. Received car back in June 2013. Car ran well, battery charged correctly and all was good for awhile. Car started to shudder/jerk a little at takeoffs from a stop again. Light and sporadic. August more frequent, September it worsened and October it had gotten bad again. End of October 2013, left my home and the car shuddered at start and went about 60 ft to stop sign again and breaks locked up solid, no lights or warnings on dash. It happened again at third stop sign! (still with-in two blocks of home). Forget the errand now just have to get it home and call for tow. Pulled out into highway in left turn so I can get home easily, and car stops locked up solid in middle of turn and road. Loaded log truck heading towards me and I cannot get car to move. Took several stomps on accelerator peddle to get it to finally crawl forward. Crash avoided but the grill filled the entire passenger window and then some. Got car home and towed to dealership the following Monday morning the 4th of November 2013. Dealership said they could not duplicate, but had huge data software upgrade for car. This was supposed to be done the first time. I told them on Monday I was not getting back into car period. Now in contact and waiting just a few more days before formal full-out legal battle begins. Hyundai has known about this life threatening safety issue for years and instead of fixing has only made it worse. Do your research before buying. I will be doing a lot more in-depth search prior any future purchase.

Worst experience of my life. I bought a 2017 Veloster, drove it off the lot with 6 miles. Within a year I’ve had my power steering column replaced, the motor for my sunroof and my MOTOR BLEW AT 28K MILES! If you have any work done to your car, expect not to hear anything for 3 weeks and them keeping your car for 2 months! The techs there take everything as a joke, and laugh about how many problems you have with their cars. One of the techs even stated if we told you how bad they are, how would we sell them? I took my car there the month before complaining that it was driving weird, they never even test drove it and stated everything was perfect yet a month later I was left stranded on the road, yet again. Please whatever you do, stay far away from the Tampa Location and Hyundai ALL TOGETHER!!! Worse choice I ever made, I regret buying that car!!!

Non- uniform & Excessive Tire Wear. There is a documented history of this problem in 2011 & 2012 Sonatas. In to the shop after 2000 miles for slight steering problem - Results - The Dealer checked out the car and determined that it was not one included in the recall so there is nothing wrong with my car. Back to the shop at 10,000 miles. Left front and right rear tire wearing and cupping on the inside. Result - told to rotate tires. Tires had been rotated every 5000 miles. At 20,000 miles the tires were making so much noise it sound like I was running big off road tires on pavement. I called Hyundai customer service and got a service number to have the car checked out. They put the car on the rack and said Everything is in spec. and wear is consistent with the mileage. I showed the service manager the tread depth readings I had taken on each tire; inside, center and outside. He just dismissed me.At 27,000 miles I couldnt stand the noise so I bought new tires (not from the dealer) from Pep Boys. They had an old time alignment guy that adjusted the camber on the rear wheel but there was no provision for adjusting the front wheels. I also did not rotate the tires again. The rear wheel adjustment did help but it was very obvious the front was still wearing badly. At 70,000 miles I bought another set of tires because of the noise. I kept the old tires, took pictures of all of them and went back to the dealer. He had his people look at them and they all stated the tires had uneven wear and cupping. I am now pursuing getting the car fixed (Good Luck). I do have a case number, but I will have a hard time getting the service manager to move ahead. I have also filed with the BBB but they said I have too many miles on the car. My next best recourse at this point is to keep the pressure on customer service. There is a documented history of this problem in 2011 and 2012 Sonatas. Please let me know if you have any experience with problem and with Hyundai.

I purchased a 2012 Sonata (loaner car), absolutely love the vehicle. I took it in for 1st oil change and they advised the tires needed to be rotated, returned to work and was notified by co-worker that they had noticed a bubble in the front passenger tire that morning. I went outside to take a look and sure enough, the front passenger tire had bubble (since tires had been rotated approx. 30 minutes earlier). I called the dealership and was told tires were not covered under warranty. I explained that I had just had the tires rotated and no one in the service dept even acknowledged the bubble. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle at this point and do not think that I should have to spend money on a tire that was obviously damaged when I bought the vehicle. I have called the dealership service manager numerous times as well as the general manager and have even emailed the gm about 8 times and no response from any of them. I called Hyundai customer support thinking that would help. I was just notified by them that the reason the dealership didnt call me back was because I gave a different name than what the vehicle was purchased under and they could find no records. I guess a phone call to me to ask more questions was asking too much. I have zero confidence in that dealership or the customer support team. Obviously, once they get your money, you as a person does not matter to that dealership. Oh, and might I add this is my 4th Hyundai to buy. You would think a repeat customer would mean something. I can guarantee I will never do business with Texan Hyundai in Rosenberg, Texas again.

I called Hyundai assurance re my Tuscon. I bought a two year lease. I am covered. I called 3 pm to make a case for towing later in evening. I called at 9 pm to have tow. The guy came and said he cant do it because it is parked behind a car and in front of another. He left me stranded. I called hyundia back. They told me stop complaining and hung up. This is useless totally. I waited till 7 am to call my Geico who picked up car no issue and dropped it at service. When I called them in the morning they said I have no coverage cause I live in burrows. Seriously disturbing. I like my car but the poeple and service are zeros.

Ive leased many cars over the years, but never have I had a more negative experience than I had with Hyundai Finance. There was, apparently an end-of-lease termination charge (unrelated to the condition of the vehicle, purely an administrative/profit charge) that was identified in the very small print at the end of my lease agreement. When I turned in the vehicle along with the inspection report that showed no damage and no charges, I inquired whether there was anything owed and was told no, youre good to go.I never received an invoice of any kind from Hyundai indicating that there was a balance due following the termination of my lease agreement (5/31/2018). I was unaware that there was a balance due until my bank notified me that there had been an adverse credit report on Experian. While Hyundai called my home and left several voicemails, they failed to indicate the reason or purpose of their calls and I assumed, since my lease was over and the car had been returned, that they were sales/promotional related calls, similar to the hundreds of other such calls I receive that go unanswered. Hyundai had the capability to take direct draws on my account during the lease period. I received an email communication from Hyundai on May 1, 2018 stating that my financial obligation was complete and that the payment schedule was being deleted at Hyundai’s request.Following return of the lease vehicle, Hyundai shut down access to my online account with them; consequently I could not log-in to see details about any balance due. Although I had previously updated my address of record on the Hyundai Finance website, Hyundai apparently contacted my prior employer and sent notifications to my prior employers address, rather than contact me at my home address. As I was no longer an employee there, my former employer did not act on these communications other than to inform Hyundai Finance that I was no longer an employee. After seeing the adverse entry on my credit report, I contacted Hyundai to inquire what was going on. That is when they suddenly informed me that there was a past due amount. I informed them that I had never received an invoice and was unable to look at my account online because they had closed it and requested that they fax the invoice to me. As soon as I received the invoice, it was paid in-full within 48 hours. The people who I spoke with at Hyundai were rude and unprofessional and completely devoid of any sense of customer service orientation. They didnt care at all that I had never received the invoice. Despite explaining in detail what had happened, they refused to do anything to correct the adverse credit rating report that was fully their own administrative failure! My advice to anyone purchasing or leasing a Hyundai vehicle -- work with your own bank and stay completely away from Hyundai Finance. You will regret ever having established a business relationship with them.

Im sending this email as a complaint against the Hyundai dealership in Plan
Im sending this email as a complaint against the Hyundai dealership in Plano Tx. (909 Coit Rd , Plano). One of your employees, Nicholas ** has a Pending Felony charge (Family Violence-Strangulation) and has also been arrested for Grand Theft Auto. This employee is giving Hyundai a bad name and owes me a sincere apology.I personally went in to Hyundai on October 7th (Friday) to order a manual for a 2011 Sonata. The man took down my information (name and number) and told me it would be in the next week (most likely Tuesday). I left and never heard from him again. One week later on October 14th, my girlfriend, Jessica ** heard from Nicholas ** (her ex husband) a salesman that works up there. He works in a completely different building than the parts department where I placed my order for the manual. He texted her and told her that her manual is in, but that I wasn’t allowed to come pick it up. He said that I made a scene when I went to place my order for my manual. Nicholas and Jessica ** are separated, and have been for 6 months. Their divorce will be final in December. Nicholas is still very upset that Jessica left him and sees me as the reason for it all. When in reality he is the one to blame. But I came in as a customer that day needing a manual for our Sonata. I didn’t even see Nicholas on the day I came in and I didn’t want to. He claims I made a scene. The scene he is referring to, is when Tarrah (a salesperson) was assisting me to the parts department and helping me get what I needed, she asked my name and I told her who I was.She immediately made the connection of who I was. Nicholas had told her, other employees, and his managers all about his personal life; making up off the wall comments and stories about me and his ex-wife. But I didn’t come up there to discuss this. When Tarrah told me all he said about us (slandering Jessica and myself), I simply told her none of what he told them was true. I then placed my order and left. That’s when Jessica got a text from Nicholas about the manual even though he had nothing to do with the order I placed. He got my information (cell number and order I placed). I’m angered by this because it is an invasion of my privacy. He is a salesperson and he shouldn’t have had anything to do with my order. Jessica didn’t place the order, I did. And I went up there as a customer. Not even wanting to deal with Nicholas. I just wanted my manual. So Nicholas then told Jessica that since I made a scene, I’m not allowed to come pick up my manual or else the police would be called. I was furious and outraged. I never spoke with the manager and was never contacted directly by him. Jessica however was contacted again this time by the manager Roosevelt, and told him my side of the story. She told him that she and I were willing to sit down with him and review the security camera where I made this scene they were referring to. The manager said that it wasn’t necessary. Jessica told Roosevelt (manager) that I planned on going to corporate offices and complaining. That’s when he stuttered over his words and quickly said he would have someone call for my mailing info and credit card number. A few days later, I received a call from someone in parts asking for my billing and shipping info. I could have just driven right back up there and dealt with them personally, but not wanting anymore drama, I gave him my info. I asked when I was to be contacted by the manager, and he said he had no clue. And when I called the next day to speak to the manager, I got the same answer, He is with a customer or He is busy at the moment. That is why I’m going over their heads and coming to you.All I wanted was my manual. I expected an apology from not only Nicholas, but also the manager. But I have yet to receive one. I came up to Hyundai as a customer, and was treated like a criminal. When in reality Nicholas ** is the criminal. He has been arrested for Grand Theft Auto, and was recently arrested for Family Violence charges (strangulation to Jessica), the charges for this recent one are still being processed. Nicholas has a temper and he hasn’t gotten over his separation from Jessica. He and his manager are giving Hyundai a bad name. I expected to be treated like everyone else, just a customer, personal life aside. My family does business with Hyundai and has for years. Its just a shame that a few people can change the way we view Hyundai. I need an apology.

I made an earlier complaint about this. The air bag light stays on at all times in my 2009 Hyundai Accent. I took it in for service today and it was there all day. When I checked on it, I was told the tech could not figure out what was causing the light to stay on. According to the service writer, they will have to check it one component at a time. This sounds very expensive. I cant believe this has never occurred before and I am the first Hyundai owner to have this problem. Hyundai was touted as a safety-minded company, but this car is not worth pouring money into while I still have payments.

A lot of people are talking about the big lie Hyundai used to increase sales. I dont know if it came from Korea or the greedy US division came up with it, but I am very disappointed. Like some others, Im not as upset about the mileage as I am about feeling screwed. I work hard for my money and do a lot of research before I purchase a new vehicle. I owned a 2003 Sonata that made me feel they made a quality product. The 2011 Elantra was priced at $18,400 on their website, along with the $1,000 customer loyalty discount. It would be the perfect car for my 16-year-old daughter. When I got to the dealer, theyre in such demand (because of the mileage lie) I had to wait until June when the 2012s came out. Then they tacked on a $1,995 market parity adjustment and customer loyalty discount doesnt apply to the Elantra. So I paid $21,500. I feel like a sap. Every day when I go out to the driveway, I am reminded of how your company took advantage of me. When I took it in for the mileage check for the fuel debit card, I talked to the salesman about turning it in for another car. The dealer (Jenkins of Leesburg, Florida) has a Volkswagen lot next door. My daughter and I agreed to trade it in until we were told it was only worth $12,000. Wow, do I feel screwed? Will I ever buy another Hyundai? What do you think?

I own a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I can promise you I will never own a Hyundai again. My car has been at the shop 3 1/2 months none of the recalls have been checked. The car still cuts itself off. Hyundai keeps calling and telling me that they fix the issue only for me to go test drive the car and it still Loses power. They keep telling me it’s one thing charging me an arm and a leg And the car continues to lose power. First they told me the engine needed to be cleaned charge me $350. Test drove it still losing power. Then they tell me it’s coil pack number 3 charge me $280 to remove one bolt. Needless to say that still didnt fix the issue. Then they tell me it’s coil pack number 4. Another $280. Guess what the issue still isn’t fixed. They refused to fix my car And want to charge me $910 before they release my car to me. None of the things they told me was wrong with the car fixed the issue. I’ve missed over 30 days of work because we are down to one car. Nearly $4000 between missed work and repairs that never needed to be done. Hyundai is putting me and my family at danger along with other families with their vehicle. I’m guessing until someone gets seriously hurt or dies it’s not their problem.

Hyundai in Newman, Ga was the worst experience ever buying a car. I was paying cash. Of course they talked me into the tech pkg and took me $2500 over budget. I was told to just finance that amount. Ok, fine, I said because I knew it would be paid off before the first payment was due. Well they didn’t like that and came back and said they couldn’t finance anything under $5000. Ok, still going to have it paid off quickly. Then they came back and said they wouldn’t finance anything under $7500. I had only taken one check with me. It’s a 4 hour drive. I told the guy that and he said to go get another check. I was walking away when my husband decided he was sick of this to find a bank up there and do it. After all this, it turns out the car I ended up with did NOT even have the tech pkg.I have never been so disgusted with a dealership ever! I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai again. Just not worth it. I hate having to see my car. They ruined what should have been an easy sale. By the way, the car was paid off within a month and they made a grand total $41. in finance charges. We bought our daughter this brand new 2016 Hyundai Tuscon 1.6 T AWD Limited on July 6th. It has left her stranded twice. The engine revs, but the car does not move. We have researched this online and there are over 950 people complaining about the same exact issue. My daughter was at a stoplight the first time this happened, and the car would just not go. The second time was after she got off work at 10:00 PM and her car started and then would not go at all. This is a brand new 2016, and we bought it for her because we wanted her to have a dependable car for college. After less than a month, it has left her stranded twice. This is a MAJOR safety concern. The dealership we took it to already has several Tucson waiting for the same issue and we are told there is no fix for it yet. This is unacceptable. The car should never have been sold with this issue and no fix for it. The dealership stated they will keep the car and give a loaner. Problem is she cant drive the loaner, so this puts the whole family out now juggling cars, because she isnt 25 to drive the loaner. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract
Nothing but problems from day one of this loan; first month wrong contract information entered that I fought for 39 months. At month 36 of my 39-month lease, I learn they made an error and its a 48-month lease, We went around and around. Then turn in car at end of lease (48 months not 39-months mind you!) to have termination fees, return fees, mileage fees (I expected those), and had a $1400.00 bill. HMF tells me I can pay it incrementally via the same account. I pay $400. then $100 each month at the suggestion of the HMF call representative. I did this on principle because I was so mad about how I was treated so I decided to pay it slowly. Yesterday, I get a phone call from a collection agency saying I owe $1400.00. I explain I have the payment confirmations from my bank showing $900.00 in payments my husband has made--the agency says (quote) well hes lying. No payments have been made and you owe it. I call HMF today and the representative, Tanya, with a heavy Indian accent, tells me she sees the $900.00 and its in collection for $402.21. Again, I tell her that her Hyundai co-representative told me to pay it that way. She says, Ill make a note of that on your account but you have to make arrangements with the collection agency to pay it. I have never had collections on this or any car loan! OMG I was NEVER LATE NOT ONCE. It was auto-pay from my bank! I requested a statement with complete billing history and told Tanya I would pay Hyundai the full amount directly. I have been switched and mislead over and over. Buyer beware!

This car has been a lemon from the day I bought it. It is dangerous. It began when I first started using the cruise control. It does not shut off correctly somehow. It will start accelerating when I am trying to stop the car or slow down! The tac will go all the way to six! I have to fight the acceleration using the brake. Shortly after purchase, when started in neutral, it lurched forward without cause, and ran into a parking barrier, denting the front. When I took it to the dealership while still under warranty, they said they could not replicate the situation, and did nothing. I argued with them and they agreed that if this situation gets fixed, it should be under warranty. I insisted they put it in writing. So I have been driving this way for quite a while, but that isnt the worst part of this. Yesterday, Sept. 30, 2013, I was driving the car when it started belching yellowish smoke. I parked it and investigated. No gauges came on. No fluid anywhere. Not overheating. I turned it off and had it towed to the dealership. It still has the drive-train warranty. Today, they told me it needs a new engine. They said the oil was really dirty and unless I can prove proper maintenance, the warranty is null. They did no further investigation after looking at the oil and that the exhaust is burnt out, too, and needs replaced. The cost would be from $8000 to $12,000. I still owe $14,000 on the car! The oil had been changed about 10,000 miles ago, which is too long, but not a reason for the motor to crater! No gauge lights up, only symptom is smoking exhaust. It was running fine when I parked it except for the smoke. This doesnt make sense to me.I will not go into detail about the other small things that have broken or quit working, like the lights, under-carriage being flimsy, moon-roof sticking, the no brake lights recall, etc... I have made a claim to the company and they are working on it. If they dont resolve this, I will report it on every social media site I can find, not to mention the hundreds of coworkers and students I have that will hear about it. Dont buy Hyundai.

I bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson about a year ago and was promised bells and whistles (which I knew in part werent true), but the one that appeared real was free maintenance for 3 years. To a single mom on a budget, that sounded spectacular. I even watched as the dealer and loan officer wrote down this promise multiple times, but when it came to signing my contract I did not double check to see if my free maintenance for 3 years promise had been recorded. When I called to make my regular service appointments, everything went smoothly at first. After about the third appointment, service fees started appearing and suddenly I was told by the service department that Hyundai never gives 100% free maintenance. Apparently, what was meant by my too good to be true deal was that free maintenance only means free oil changes and that is it. Everything else will cost you. Driving my Tucson is just fine, but being duped puts a sour taste in my mouth every time I step into my car. Im on the fence about buying from Hyundai again. No matter how much one tries not to get screwed over by dealers, it seems they always find another way to get you.

Noise at engine area on acceleration. (Turbo area). After checking, they said nothing and all in good condition. Some foreman refused after checking the engine, its not a new engine. Its a used engine, but Hyundai Service Center said its a new engine. If new engine, why this much problem?.On 11.04.2012 in the morning, when starting the engine, I saw white smoke. I drove the vehicle to Hyundai Service Center at same place. Service Center sent me the quotation (estimate repair charges): 1.Turbo charger assy - Rm 315.00 2. EGR valve - Rm180.00 3. Intercooler - Rm180.00 4. Cover assy-rocker and / Gasket - Rm 45.00 5. Repair oil leaking at timing area - Rm 45.00 6. TQ gasket rocker cover 224414a400 - Rm 58.95 7. TQ intercooler assy 281904a481 - Rm 1,077.30 8. TQ turbo assy 282004a480 -Rm 7,792.00 9. Tq egr valve assy 284104a470 - Rm 737.10 10. Gasket sealant - Rm 49.0011. Service tax - Rm 45.00Total charges - Rm 10,525.25. They asked me to pay myself the repair cost. I already made a complaint about leaking oil from engine and noisy turbo. After changing the new engine, they never take action on it. Why no warranty? Why I cant claim? Every time, Im having problem with this engine.

Our second & last Hyundai. Car hesitates & bucks very bad from a full stop. Fuel gage not accurate at all. According to brochure car has a 16.4 gallon fuel tank, but when you go to fill it only takes about 9-10 gallons after low fuel indicator reads 30 miles or so to empty. Took car to Obrien Hyundai of Fort Myers shortly after purchase & given a runaround about problem. Told by service writer that there was no code displayed.Talked to 2 independent mechanics who both said it sounds like the fuel pick up or sending unit is either bad or loose in fuel tank. Filled out complaint form with Hyundai USA, called back a week later & was told someone would contact me. No one ever contacted me. After another 2 weeks called Hyundai & was told issue was not escalated because problem did not sound serious enough. Finally contacted Hyundai USA customer service who agreed to escalate case.

I am trying to begin the process of making a lemon law claim on our Santa Fe. I am wondering if anybody else has had problems with the back liftgate automatically closing. We have had it repaired 3 times already, and now after taking it in 6 months ago they have still not been able to get it fixed for what would be the 4th time. I have been hit in the head numerous times, and the other day my son was trapped by the liftgate. Luckily I was there to get it off of him, because it will not stop coming down unless you pull very hard against it and he is 8 and was face down. The dealership is useless, they have been ordering the parts for 6 months. We have called repeatedly and get the same answer. Unfortunately there is not another dealer close enough for us to go to, and they also have told us we have to get it repaired at their dealership. This is a joke, and I was wondering if others have had the same issue. Just trying to get all the evidence I can to try and force a resolution. We basically do not use the back of our car anymore. Hyundai is awful.

My 2013 Hyundai Veloster engine went bad for the 2nd time after six years.
My 2013 Hyundai Veloster engine went bad for the 2nd time after six years. The 1st time it was under warranty and it was replaced in five weeks and I received a rental vehicle paid by Hyundai. The 2nd engine failed two years after it was replaced and after a recall was completed at the dealership to correct an ignition issue that could damage the engine. It took ten weeks to replace the engine and I did not receive a rental or loaner car. Hyundai did replace the engine out of warranty but it is obvious that they know they have issues with this engine. Who has two engines go bad in six years? I picked up my car from the service department on a Friday and traded it in on a VW Saturday morning. I will never own a Hyundai ever again!

The fuel pump on my 2009 Sonata, bought on 5/30/2009, went bad stranding me away from home. Even though car is less than three years old, at 70,000 miles, I was told is was out of warranty. Rental car cost me $120; tow cost me $72; fuel cost me $350; labor cost to install cost $200. Total cost is $772 for a car I am still paying $300 a month on. It needs better design so fuel pump lasts and make access to fuel pump better so whole gas tank doesnt have to be removed. I had an Elantra for eight years then traded up to Sonata. I will not buy another Hyundai after this experience. For a car and brand that touts reliability, this issue (I understand it has happened many times) is unacceptable.

Hyundai is having a major problem with engine failure and the parts being on backorder. Mine has been at the dealership for 5 1/2 months. My parts backorder now has been pushed to Nov. 15th, which I am sure will be pushed out again as they have every month. It has been 5 1/2 months. Hyundai customer care is one of the worst Ive seen, they are showing no concerns about me the consumer or my vehicle. There is a Hyundai Tucson engine failure page set up on Facebook. I would encourage you to NOT buy a Hyundai.

Just received my 10th recall on this piece of junk. And I expect more. I was actually given a phoney long-winded dissertation of the recall by the east coast Hyundai regional representative who called me to placate me after the 9th recall. He said sometimes the robots do get it wrong. Wtf kind of response is that? Hyundai should declare this car a lemon and offer some kind of compensation to us victims of their horrendous quality control issues.

If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen
If I can save you the trouble from leasing from Hyundai, then please listen carefully. I have always leased my cars. Ford, Volvo, Saab, etc. Ive NEVER had an issue with a leasing company, process has been flawless. Hyundai Financial has been an absolute nightmare. At lease end, Hyundai send out a 3rd party to look over your car. There is no wear and tear allowed for a 3-year lease. The 3rd party company spends 1 1/2 hrs going over your car with a magnifying glass (true!) and then hands you a bill for $3,000. If there is a pen mark on your seats, then you have to replace the entire fabric on all the seats. They then tell you that this is just a guide for you to get things fixed and this will never go to Hyundai. Thats a lie. We took the car to have the ridiculous list addressed, spent hundreds of dollars getting tiny scratches out, the pen mark on the fabric (there were no dents, tires were brand new, under mileage, etc.), and faxed over the complete report to Hyundai. The car was in such perfect condition that when we turned it in, the dealership leasing manager called the sales manager and said they needed to buy this car. A month later, we get the $3,000 bill from Hyundai. They DO NOT send someone out to look over the car after the work is done. They go completely off the original work their 3rd party sends them. We submitted our receipts 3 times and they told us they didnt like the wording on our invoices and suggested we wrote it ourselves! I said feel free to call the company that we paid hundreds of dollars to who worked on our car 3 days. The detail shop called us, said Hyundai was extremely rude, and that was the end of that. Three months later, on Christmas Eve morning, we get a call from a collection agency that says we owe $3,000. We now have to hire an attorney. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!

I am so upset Hyundai do not seem to be concern about me not being able to get around. Hyundai got my car, they have to replace my motor, they say they do not have a loaner and tell me to rent a car for two months and they will reimburse me. I have told them several times I cannot afford to do that and pay my car notes. They reached out to me with several lies but closed my account. They say someone will contact me after I contacted them again and its been a week and no one have reached out yet. If they would tell people ahead of time they have some things that goes wrong with the motor many people wouldnt waste time with Hyundai. But I with others will make sure no one else get helmed up like this because this is a burden that we carry without the care of Hyundai. So on every social media page, emails, and in our advertisements with the different companies we will mention how poorly Hyundai took care of us.

I am very unhappy with the broken sun visors now both on my 2006 Sonata. This is unsafe! I had a Toyota prior and no problems bringing it in for fixes and recalls. I called Planet Hyundai and was told they cant help me. This is not a part that normally breaks on any car, so this is a defect in design! Yes Hyundai, take ownership here and fix this! I will keep on complaining until you put it right!

End of last year Nov 2011, I decided to buy a new car for my wife. Considering the economy was not so good, we decided to find a car which has low fuel consumption in the category of 1.6 and below. After making various market survey with the explanation from salesman from various model, we decided to go for Hyundai i10 1.25. The consumption is around 18 to 22 km per litter according to the salesman and it is stated in the technical brochures 5.3/100km combine fuel consumption. Due to that, we bought the car. It was delivered to us on 21st of November 2011.On the first day of delivery when I drove the car home on the highway, the car suddenly stopped. Luckily, there was no car behind me. I started the car again and drove it and it has no power. Due to it is near by my house about 4 km, I decided to drive slowly back home and call for Hyundai technical people to take back the car. About half a day, the Hyundai tow car came and picked the car for repair. After about two days, the car was delivered back to me. I drove the car and it looked okay. The next day, I gave it to my wife to use it. About two weeks, my wife drove the car. She relished that the fuel consumption was very high. I took the car and make an official complaint to Hyundai. They check my vehicles and told me that it is not a problem. They also tell me that to send for the first service at 1,000 km.On 7th December 2011, I sent my car to Hyundai for the first service. I also complain about fuel consumption. After the service, I start recording the fuel consumption. From my reading and record, the fuel consumption at average is about 11.5km per litter. On 8 Jan 2012, I make another official complaint and Hyundai do a testing again and they said there is no problem. The technical guy said the fuel consumption is about 14km per litter. It is contradictory with the salesman and technical brochures as mentioned earlier. In this case, we feel that we being cheated by the Hyundai when the technical guy said it is about 14km per litter. The worst is the real consumption according to speedometer and my record, it is on average of 11.5km per litter.I made another official complaint on 30th of January 2012 during my second service. They made another try and said that it is okay about 14km per liter. I told them that I cannot get that mileage. They cannot explain to me further. I made another official complaint on 4th March 2012 and left the car for two weeks until 22nd March 2012 for them to check and give me the result. Unfortunately, when I received the car on 22nd March 2012, they did not make an attempt to check it until the last day they delivered to me, still cannot tell me the problem. I feel that Hyundai has cheated me.On 26th of March, I made another official complaint about it but until today, they did not contact me. For information, I have given the record and data of refueling and mileage reading to them. I do not know if they are interested to rectify the problem or they could not care less about it.

I purchased my 2005 Hyundai, in late 2004. Since the day I owned it, I’ve had trouble with it, like from only 2000 miles on it the engine had a noise. I took it back 4 or 5 times, and they kept saying they didn’t hear anything. Well that is wrong, because the service manager that was there at the time heard it. I want to know what happened to him as he is no longer there. I went back one time to get my oil changed and found out that they only changed the filter and not the oil, which I could prove, so I made up my mind that I would never go back there for service. Now my car has only 48,000 miles on it and I have a real bad noise in the rear end. I took it up to them and they told me it was under warranty. A couple of hours later they called me and told me they would not fix the problem because of not having it serviced by them. The car would be serviced for as long as I owned the car, not by Hyundai but by my own service person, which should not matter because by law, you dont have to bring it to the dealer. This dealership has had a lot of problem with people over warranty work. I know of at least 13 people. The dealership has a bad name to begin with. Now that my car is 6-years-old, I am going to let people know just what kind of cars they have and how the warranty is nothing but a rip off. If I could talk my wife into it, I would like to paint the dealer’s name on the car to show what kind of junk it is and also let them drive it. Maybe thus I could stop another person from making the same mistake I made by buying one. You know it is a shame that when a person buys a car or truck, the first thing they look for is the coverage it has. By then if ever something would go wrong, they would not to be ripped off, like people from this dealership and the company. I will post on the internet and facebook for people to contact me, so like I said, I might stop someone from getting one of these cars. All I could say is thank you for reading this letter and to let you know my true feeling about a Hyundai.

I purchased a Hyundai i20 Magna from Joshi Automobiles Mohali Punjab. At the time of delivery, several things were not provided to me though they said they’ll deliver it to me within few days. Even when I got my car insured from Joshi Showroom twice, every time, the insurance policy was sent after 6 months. Now, about the tire problem, the tires they provided me with the car were of zero quality. Just after 3 months, the tires got punctured not just one or two times. In fact, all tires were getting punctured twice or thrice a week. I lodged several complaints but there was no action taken by the dealer. Just for show cause, they issued me a fake inspection report.

Worst service I have ever experienced. I chose this company because it claimed to have the best service, but it turned out to be all a ruse. They disrespect you behind fake smiles and artificial manners. I have owned several cars and dealt with several companies but I have never been treated with such disgrace. All the problems Ive come for are caused by the cheap and weak manufacturing of this car. Not even the cars remote lock lasted more than a few months. This company is crap starting from its products and ending with its disrespectful employees.

The 2017 Hyundai Tucson drives nice, is roomy, and is much better gas mileage than our previous minivan. However, I really miss sliding doors, which we were used to on our other vehicles. I wish the Tucson had a power trunk and Im not happy with the radio as it doesnt show song titles like our previous model did. Nevertheless, it was our first time leasing so it made the vehicle quite affordable. The Tucson had a better price point than comparable models. It is also physically very attractive and is a beautiful color turquoise. It has a very modern looking interior and exterior as well.

My first experience was when I received the recall notice for my 2006 Sonata about the airbags sensor for front passenger seat. I had Sports Durst in Durham check it when I took it in for service (been a while back) and was told nothing was wrong. Later, when someone over 90 lbs was sitting in seat, the airbag light would indicate that it was turned off. I took it to Crenshaw Hyundai in Burlington where they checked it. They confirmed it was faulty and mailed my seat to California for service. Now, my airbag light is back on again and was told by Crenshaw Hyundai that since it had been repaired, the recall work is no longer under warranty. It seems after reading all these complaints that it would not do any good to have it repaired because the majority says the light comes back on or the airbags failed to deploy in accidents or just deployed for no reason. I use to like Hyundais but after this I will never own another one nor recommend them.
