Teased: Mazda CX-60 Will Be Built For Those Who Love Driving
[BACK]

Posted On: March 1, 2022
Mazda has teased its upcoming CX-60 yet again, this time giving us a sneak peek at the elegantly styled exterior. Like the current range of offerings, which was recently extended with the new CX-50, the newcomer boasts an evolution of the brand's Kodo: Soul of Motion design language. Instantly recognizable as a Mazda, the SUV is seen through wood paneling, and, while it's still difficult to get a good look at the CX-60, the slim-looking LED headlights are visible and so too are the premium-looking alloy wheels. The rear appears notably bigger than the CX-5. The bigger body is placed upon Mazda's new rear-wheel-drive platform, which will be implemented in future sedan and SUV offerings, with inline-six engines and hybridization all part of the package. The CX-60 will also be the brand's first plug-in hybrid. This isn't the first time we've caught a glimpse of the CX-60. In the past month, the Japanese brand has released a short video previewing the tastefully appointed interior. Mazda says it will be unlike any other model before it, with a blend of interesting materials coming together to create a harmonious, welcoming experience. Maple wood, Nappa leather, and Japanese textiles work together to create a plush environment. We first got a preview of the CX-60 last year, when leaked images of the Audi Q5 fighter surfaced on Instagram. From the images pictured below, we could get a better glimpse of the front end, which also features a chrome-trimmed radiator grille and an uncluttered design overall. Along with the future CX-70 and CX-90 models, the CX-60 is likely part of Mazda's premium ambitions. The brand's UK boss said recently that the Japanese automaker has plans to take on Lexus in the luxury segment. The aforementioned plug-in hybrid model will gain motivation from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, paired with an electric motor. This, says Mazda, will deliver over 300 horsepower. However, the brand has said its premium models will be powered by six-cylinder engines, which would pair well with the peaceful, effortless luxury Mazda is portraying with the CX-60. The straight-six Skyactiv-X powertrains will feature a mild-hybrid 48-volt system which will, most likely, provide smooth performance. It's not long now before Mazda unveils the CX-60, which is set to debut on March 8. It will enter the compact luxury segment against the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, but sadly won't be making it stateside.

Sold my 1990 Mazda 626 with roughly 225,000 miles on it back in 2005. The car was great, replaced master cylinder for the clutch and alternator in the 50,000 miles I had the car. The RX8 had no issues, it is a car that needs its oil checked often due to the design of the engine, and you have to drive it hard to clear the carbon off the tips. I took it to 9k almost everyday for 2 years with no issues on the car whatsoever. People that complain about engine failures are mostly idiots that shouldnt be driving a rotary to begin with. Mazda was nice enough due to the large amount of idiots blowing engines that they extended the warranty for all owners to 10 yrs 100k miles on the powertrain. The speed 3 I had for a few years as well, no problems besides a rear side window that had a slight imperfection upon delivery which was replaced by Mazda. Now I have a Mazda 6 2014. I have about 25k miles on it averaging about 30mpg. No issues whatsoever. I have seen the advertised 40mpg or above when going 60mph or less, but that never happens with me. In short Mazda is an amazing company with awesome products at an affordable price. People with cars that are almost 10 yrs old or older should not be able to leave comments about parts breaking, THE CARS 10 yrs OLD!! Step it up and get something newer or stop complaining.

I leased a Mazda in August of last year. I got in a car accident in January. Mazda in Palm Beach Gardens has my car for repair. They can not give me a date since they cant get parts until maybe June. Mazda Financial told me to trade the lease in for a new one, I spent 5 hours at Mazda in PBG they wanted to offer me the same car @ 750.00 a month vs the 300.00 I am paying currently as well as 5000. down and trade in the car they are repairing. I have called Mazda corp, Mazda Financial as well as the Mazda dealership for some help with no returned phone. They will NOT give me a loaner car because they only give out loaners for service issues. My current position is I have NO car. No idea when it will be fixed. Paying 300.00 a month for my lease as well as 1500.00 a month for a rental car.

Two Mazda 3s 2010 - Revving from 1000 - 4000 when braking, struts, bearings, now car is rolling parked in 1st on a 25 degree incline. Ive driven standard (manual) all my life and this should not happen. Back to dealership.

I have a 2007 CX7 car but its nothing but a lemon with a 2-master cylinder and turbo charger. The fender popped loose and motor mounts were broken. When they changed turbo charger, nothing was under warranty. I have spent over $3,000.00. I will never buy this SUV or Mazda again. What a joke. Im easy on this car with 63,000 miles on it. When all **, I cant afford to get rid of it. But when I can look out the world, I will buy one from the USA.

I have not had a single issue with my car in six years, it has been the absolute best purchase I have ever made. The car has also retained much of its resale value. My vehicle is totally manual, transmission and windows; the vehicle also gets great gas mileage. I chose this car because it was rated very high for reliability and overall value at the time I bought the vehicle. However, I dislike the clips that secure parts to my vehicle, and they break very easily. The oil pan fell off a few months after purchase and some of the interior clip ons broke as well.

The day before Christmas Eve 2014, as we drove out of a parking lot, our well-maintained 2006 Mazda3 started feeling bumpy. We stopped on the street, and my husband looked under the hood: the engine had fallen out of place! There was no warning. Our Christmas week involved tow-trucks, car rental, and inability to find anyone who could work on the car before the following week. We found out the motor mounts had failed, which seemed to be a common problem on Mazdas. Worst of all, as we saw online, it often happened again and again.Six months before, wed had the motor mounts replaced. Our mechanic found a crack in one of them and suggested replacing them all, with Mazda parts. Wed had no trouble with the car since then, and had only gone another 7000 miles. I spoke to the service manager at the Mazda dealer, who said hed never seen an engine fallout in the years hed been there. He said Id have to contact Mazdas corporate office; they made all decisions, and maybe theyd help with repairs. The corporate woman I spoke with wasnt overly encouraging. She only said wed have to have the car towed to them so their service dept could check it out.Merry Christmas? Customer service? Online comments made us doubtful that Mazda would ever help us, and I shuddered to think where wed be if the engine had fallen while we were on the freeway. We finally decided, instead of spending too much time and money on a car we could never really trust again, to buy a new car--NOT a Mazda. A photo of our good-looking Mazda3 convinced the dealer to take it as a trade-in, and have it towed to them. We only got 107,000 miles out of our Mazda3, the least weve ever had on a car. Needless to say, it will be the last Mazda well buy. Warning to other Mazda3 owners: every time you have your car serviced, have them check the motor mounts. It could save you all kinds of grief, and maybe your life.

The car itself is a cheaper version of a Toyota. Spend the few extra dollars for the Toyota and get a manufacture that stands by their cars. Mazda is having a big issue with the CMU chips failing for the entertainment screen. My car was 3 months past the warranty coverage and even knowing that they are having problems with these they refused to do anything. Even the replacement motherboards are failing. Without the CMU chip you can’t play the radio. This is not something that should fail after 3 1/2 years. I had to spend $1500 so I could listen to the radio. You get what you pay for. Beware of Mazda.

The Mazda CX 5 is a great looking SUV. The after sales service sucks. I have determined that the Electronic Park Brake is a design flaw. This must be the only front wheel drive vehicle that wears out its rear brake pads and tyres before the front. Mazda with TSB 004-05/15 replaces the brake calipers when the actual problem is the sensor which controls the EPB. Like a person who hates constructive critique. I am not surprised that they are suffering in the market.

The Mazda 2 was on the Nissan dealership lot in Glendale. They took me through the ringer and $8000 car ended up being 20,000. Upon the free oil change they offered for year three of those changes. They put the wrong oil during routine. The most had multiple problems with the EGR valve malfunctioning, heart idling fuel injection malfunctioning interior begin to rip and tear fade out. I believe some of the problems were due to Glendale Nissan. What a horrendous collections people to represent a brand.

I recently bought a Mazda CX-5 (2 months ago). At the time of purchase I had only a couple of criteria but they were very important to me since I put A LOT of mileage on my cars. (My last car was a 2007 and it had 380,000 km on it when I finally decided to buy a new car.) My criteria: The car needed to have XM/Sirius availability, a bluetooth that enabled true hands free use of my cell phone calls and an easy to use, straightforward navigation system. I was told the CX 5 I was purchasing had all three… WHAT A LIE!!!I paid an extra $1300 for the tech package to be installed into the car that would supposedly allow all three of above criteria. Immediately it was evident that something was wrong with the navigation (or so I thought). It took no less than 7 step to input any address into it. It was impossible to use on the fly and required not only pulling over to input info BUT it demanded 6 more levels of information before it would give me directions! Im serious. After returning to Budds dealership to attempt to gain further insight on how to correct this issue it became evident that NONE of the salespeople knew how to operate it! NONE! Not even the sales manager. We had to contact the Navigation system manufacturers in the state to find out what the problem was. Turns out, there was no problem. That was the crappy-ass cheap nav system that Mazda had ordered for their 2016 CX line of cars!!! Oh - by the way, the voice recognition is non-existent. Now I am back to driving around having to rely on my iPhone Google Maps to direct me on my travels. Nice to know Mazda has our backs (tongue firmly planted in check) helping its customers abide by the hands free driving rules now strictly in place in Canada and the US. There is no excuse for this type of 20th century technology in todays 21st century, seriously?? The XM was a joke, it does not actually show up on the in-dash display. It is provided exclusively by a tiny little remote that has push buttons. No scrolling capability, no visual feedback about what station you are on or listening to, unbelievable. By the way, I had the tech package removed and requested my $1300 back. My Bluetooth is another matter, cuts in and out on a regular basis. I have to reconnect my phone and the cars bluetooth at least 4 times a month. Again, as with the nav system, the voice recognition is non-existent.I HATE THIS CAR. $40,000 and 7 yrs of car payments for the privilege of driving a car with no nav system, XM/Sirius or bluetooth capability. So basically I am back driving around having to use my iPhone for cell calls and google maps. One more thing, the gas mileage sucks, the tank is the size of a football. I am filling up every second or third day AND it sounds like a diesel engine when you first start it up. I thought something was wrong with the muffler when I first started driving it. Turns out the loud engine and exhaust noise is the result of the skyactiv technology they use, another huge marketing BS story they try to sell you about why Mazda is so advanced. Did I mention HOW MUCH I HATE THIS CAR??

My 1992 CD4E Transmission is in the shop, yet again. 87 thousand miles and my transmission went out again. I never knew about how poor the transmission design was until I took it to the shop. If I would have known, I would have never bought my 626. My wife has a 2004 Mazda MPV van with 171,000 miles. I thought the 626 would have lasted at least half as good.

I had happily owned 2 Mazda 6 2006 sedan and wagon and was considering another when the diesel comes out. That was last week. This week, without warning, the clutch pedal went to the floor and made a loud bang grinding noise. The car has extended warranty from Mazda. We had told Mazda for over a year, it was hard to get into reverse and the 1-2 chatter noise but never got any resolution on this. I took the car in and the dealer said it would be a clutch, which was not covered. I was not happy but somewhat ok with that. It turned out that when the part failed (Throwout bearing), it destroyed the transmission and that is not covered (Mazda Customer service must know about the problem as they tell you it is not covered and basically hang up on you).Same with MEPP, which I paid a great deal of money for bumper to bumper extended total care, which is supposed to cover manual transmission but somehow does not. I’m getting rid of both cars and may have to junk my other car, which went from being worth 10k to 0 in an instant by a bearing which should be covered. Don’t buy Mazda. They dont stand behind their products. Always dealer serviced and just was serviced and passed MAZDA (Green light thing they give you every time its serviced making you feel like its all good, which is a lie). $3,000.00 to replace the clutch is insane. Its not a skyline GTR.

Bought a 2012 CX-9. First 2 years car ran great then 500 miles past warranty driver window motor goes out. Then a week later passenger window motor goes bad. Battery goes out. Car was only 2 years old. Now under recall which part needs to be replaced and both wheel bearings are going out after only 50K miles. What a POS. These parts should not be going bad this soon. Will never buy another Mazda again. Just lost my business because was going to buy another one next year.

I bought a new 2015 Mazda CX9 back in March 2015. Was a reliable vehicle up until about 3 weeks ago. After I dropped my kids off at school I heard my fan getting loud under the hood. I looked at my dashboard, no engine light, no coolant light, nothing. So I drive 1/4 mile further and see that my coolant gauge is starting to rise, I then pull over into the next neighborhood as it begins to steam from underneath my hood. I have it towed to the closest shop to where I stalled out at, and they tell me that at 77,000 miles I need a NEW ENGINE! I had 2 other opinions from different mechanics and they all stated the same. I towed it over to the Mazda dealer that I bought it from, and they have basically told me tough luck. I forwarded every service record that I had since I purchased the car. But I would have to fork out $6k for a brand new engine. I will never purchase another Mazda again, nor will I ever recommend my family and friends. In a automotive industry that is fighting to retain their customers, I wouldve thought this wouldve been a great way to earn a customer for life. If you own a Mazda beware. As I stated there was no warning, and I wasnt due for another service appt for another 2 months. Way to go Mazda!

Been very happy with the Mazda 5 for the most part. It drives well, is not too expensive to run, and has not needed many repairs. Also fits nicely into our very tiny one-car garage, which is a definite plus. I choose it because the storage area could hold all of the items I knew I would need to carry there, which was the main reason was shopping for a new vehicle. But I dislike that there is only one keylock, on the drivers door. To open any of the other doors, must first open driver door, then use inside controls to open rest of doors.

Mazda should stand behind their products. I own a 2001 Mazda Tribute and have had multiple problems with it. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to keep it running. I really think hundreds of Tribute owners who have had trouble with their SUVs should file suit. I drive carefully and take really good care of my cars and I still have all of these problems. This is my first and last Mazda. Here is a list of current and past problems: car door handle broken, coils replaced, transmission problems, radiator replaced (it split open), fuel modulator replaced, CV joints problem, rear hatch doesnt lock, interior linings coming off/ash tray and cup holders broken, and exhaust leaks/catalytic converter.

I was cheated by Mazda Marshals Milton Keynes. I took my Mazda RX8 to the dealership for a check just to sort out my issues with my CD player which wasnt working properly. Along with that, I told them that the car seems to consume a lot of fuel. They later called me back and to my surprise no value was added to my car, nothing was done to my CD and all previous faults still existed. I was charged $57 which they claim is for the inspection of the car. I then called Mazda customer service along with checking their website only to find out that Mazda does a free comprehensive car health check, the same check which I was charged for. To further worsen the matter, a week after the inspection I discovered my RX8 had issues with starting again whenever it is turned off. I usually have to wait five minutes before starting the car again. I have written to them repeatedly but no reply. Im currently getting legal advice concerning this.

Mazda 5 - Good compromise between full-size minivan and SUV. Adequate and comfortable seating for four adults and two children. Small cargo area behind rear seats. 4 cylinder engine coupled to 5-speed automatic transmission gives good get up and go with up to 31 mpg highway mileage. But sport model lacks full Bose system features, such as WiFi and Bluetooth.

My mom gave her old mazda. We had no problems with it until we were stopped at a light and the oil light came on. 30 sec later the motor seized up due to a cracked housing for the oil filter. Out of the blue the housing cracked blue oil all over the bottom of the car and seized the motor. After talking to mechanics junk yards and other people on the Internet, we found that this was a very common situation. I put in a complaint with the NATSA the ph number is 888 327 4236. The more complaints the better the chances are of us getting our cars fixed to everybody that has had this problem.

We are going to have to replace our fourth Catalytic Converter. Each time we are just outside of warranty. We have asked our dealership and Mazda customer assistance for assistance. Mazda would not be able to assist with the replacement of the catalytic converter due to the fact the vehicle is outside of warranty. My daughter was on I85 in heavy rain 2/18/2012 when her car bogged down and it was all that she could do to get safely off of the highway and out of heavy traffic. Her check engine light was flashing and we knew exactly what was wrong. Here we go again. Is there anyone that can help us with the EPA required catalytic converter warranty? Is there any extended warranty law which applies when a part needs to be replaced four times? Recalls that we can not find or our dealership is not telling us about? Can you please help? Thank you very much.

They did eventually cover the turbo under warranty, I had to pay $300 for an oxygen sensor and I still wont do the wheel bearing, but at least they covered the expensive part. I called head office, they called the dealer, back and forth and it was eventually covered. The main root cause is that when I purchased the vehicle and asked to extend the warranty, I thought I was extending the original warranty which is covered under Mazdas Added Protection plan for new vehicles. What the salesman actually gave me is a two year powertrain warranty. Im not sure if this was miscommunication or an error on their part, difficult to prove at this point.

I have a 2008 Mazda B4000, 50600km. The warranty expired Sept 29 2011. When winter tires were put on, I requested brake check. Both rear brake cylinders are leaking (for sometime, shoes soaked, needed replacement). They would not do work under warranty coverage unless Mazda head office agreed. They refused; the dealer thought because rather than doing good will repairs I could buy ext. warranty.

We bought a car from the Mazda dealership, a certified SUV CX-7 2008. A few months later, the car started acting up and the engine overheated. We took it in to the dealer and they told us the only problem was that of the thermostat. Thankfully, we had bought the extended warranty that covered this. They told us everything else was fine and that was the only problem they had come across. About six months later, the car still kept overheating and we noticed there was another leak. We took the car in and now they are saying it was a lack of maintenance from our part. The engine was blown and there was oil all over everything. They told us that if we proved we took care of the engine adequately, that our extended warranty would cover it. We did everything that we could and got all the receipts of the Synthetic Oil we had bought, got all our ducks in a row and handed them the evidence they needed. Now, they are saying that due to the sludge, the warranty can be void. At this point, I started doing research based on the fact that we did take care of our car and its oil was changed even before it had to. (A car is a major investment. Why would we not take care of it when were spending $700-$900 a month to keep this car?) Something wasnt right. I had to put two and two together. According to other Mazda CX7 owners, their engines started giving out at 40k-80k miles. I also talked to a mechanic who told me they believe the engine is overheating due to the turbo in the engine, causing everything to melt. I talked to the main Mazda mechanic about this and they said that they cant do anything but wait and see if the insurance will cover this and replace the engine. He said he knows about the problems people have reported but there is nothing he can do. Mazda is definitely a major rip off and scam. They scam people out of their money by giving them faulty cars that give out way before 100k miles and then tell them its because they didnt take proper care of their engines. Buyers, beware of Mazda and even their Platinum warranty. They will use every excuse to void this! Read all the reviews of unhappy customers! Mazda is definitely not owning up to this like they should. The Mazda CX 7 engine is no good!

My 2001 Mazda Millenia broke my heart and my bank. I bought it from Duncan Auto in Key West. It was lovely and it still is, but the engine is useless. The hold light went on and the transmission began to burn. When I called Duncan, the dealer where I had purchased, they said that their mechanics wouldnt touch it. I tried some more local mechanics who had their way with the car and charged me heavy but still the problem persisted. The car could not be driven over 25 mph and I couldnt go anywhere without the transmission burning up. Finally, at my expense, I had it towed to a Mazda dealer in Miami. They said that it needed a new transmission at a cost of $6000.00. The car cost me most of my savings ($17,000.00) which was a lot of money for me and was the first nice thing I ever bought myself and it lasted only two years. This cleaned me out and I cant afford another car at this time. The car still sits in front of my house and forever a painful reminder. Do your research people and buyer beware. Learn what youre getting into on second-hand owned vehicles from non-affiliated dealers.

Within 40.000[sic] miles our bluetooth unit in our CX-9 broke. No warranty and a $900 repair bill if we wanted to repair it. We opted out and are now using Bluetooth headset. Less than 60.000[sic] miles CD player goes out and we cannot load or take out the CDs and not even play the cds that are in there. Less than 80.000[sic] miles DVD player goes out. So basically we are back to good old radio only. Also one of the entry keys failed which is about $300 to replace. Sealing rubber on the driver window side is leaking and creates a lot of cabin noise. That said the car drives nice although it is a gas guzzler. So if you are looking to Zoom without any media and lots of wind noise the Mazda CX-9 is what you are looking for. Called the Mazda Experience line but they simply say you are out of warranty so regardless of what is wrong with your car you are paying.

I had plugs changed 3k ago on my Mazda Tribute and one blew out the other day. It broke the coil off. Dealer is charging me $500 to drill out and install sleeve and new spark plug. They suggested that if it happens again, the head is bad and will have to be replaced for cost of $1500 or so. Apparently, this happens with Fords a lot and as I see here, Mazdas too. It is a commonly occurring quality issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer. Obviously, it weakens the threads when changed at 100k. I had no problems before that then change the plugs and 3k later, one blows.

This is the nicest car I have ever driven. It now has 40,000 kms. and is running perfectly. BUT: when I first purchased the car I said that the brake and gas pedals seemed to be too close together and my shoe caught the bottom of the brake pedal when I tried to move from the gas to the brake. Did not think this was a major problem until we were sitting in the fast food takeout line and the car started to inch forward while I was stepping on the brake. I stepped down harder and the car revved up and lurched forward hitting the car in front of us. My shoe which was stepping on the brake was also touching the gas so the harder I stepped on the brake, the more I stepped on the gas also. While there was hardly any damage to both cars (some bumper damage to car in front about $600.) IF A CHILD HAD BEEN BETWEEN THE CARS, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED. This is an issue that should be addressed by the designers before someone is injured or killed. This problem is not unique to Mazda, other car manufacturers like Toyota, Ford, Mini Cooper all have the same problem. I also have a Suzuki, and this is not a issue with it, as there is about 3 inches space between the pedals. Is it possible that because Asian designers tend to design cars for people with smaller feet, that they do not consider that North Americans are generally bigger and therefore would wear larger footwear which may cause a problem in a confined space? I am going to have the brake pedal removed, cut, and rewelded so that the pedal is about 3 inches more to the left. This will fix the problem I have, and perhaps it will save a future accident that may be worse than the one I just had. Anyone else have an insights on this issue?

I bought a new Mazda CX-5 based on reviews in 2016. It is comfortable and peppy. This is first crossover vehicle I have owned and I like it. It sits higher than a car and has more space to haul things, yet is small enough to easily park in tight spaces. So far it is very reliable.

Mazda CX5 2016 Transmission Failure at 57,500 miles. How do I create a class action lawsuit against Mazda for a transmission defect that the manufacturer supposedly knew at the time of assembly? I bought the car new. After 30 months, the transmission failed. I had to dump the car after the repair, at a loss. On the positive, the body style was great, handling superior, interior lay out convenient, poor quality interior craftsmanship on seats, but to have the transmission crap out was a real bummer.

This is about my second consecutive Mazda sedan I have owned. After I was notified of the recent recall of the passenger side inflator on my 2012 Mazda 6 I wanted to also have the drivers side one replaced, at my expense, and when it was later recalled (as it most likely would be), I wanted to be reimbursed for whatever my cost was. I first presented this request to the dealership who told me the cost would be around $700, because they said the inflator part alone could not be replaced. Because I am willing to pay this amount I then contacted Mazda Corporate Customer Experience where I was told Mazda could not promise any reimbursement but would “review” such request. Finally, I contacted two executives at the Corporation with this request. My last request to one of them was made by letter mailed by certified mail. Although the letter mailing was verified received by USPS, it has now been some 3 months and I have not received any reply and I dont expect to. My Opinion: This clearly shows me: MAZDA DOESN’T EVEN CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS TO EVEN RESPOND TO THEM IN THIS SITUATION. This experience has now cemented my decision to never purchase another Mazda again. I probably should not have purchased this one because I had a problem with the moonroof not always closing on the last one that was only fixed because a friend of mine knew someone at Mazda that I was able to connect with who got the problem finally fixed after my having taken the car to the dealership numerous times and told they “had to replicate the problem” before it could be fixed.

My 2007 Mazda 6 4 cylinder engine failed with only 107,000 KM. This was 7000 KM after my warranty expired. The whole engine needs to be replaced as it was a catastrophic failure. I had fully maintained my car at the Mazda dealer, changed the oil on schedule every time and had only Mazda technicians working on my car. Mazda Canada would only cover 33% of the replacement engine. This will be the last Mazda I ever buy, very displeased with Mazda Canadas lack of concern for their own reputation and customers.

I purchase this in May of 2014. If I had known what I do now, I would had went to another vehicle, not a Mazda. Used to think a lot about Mazda but the wiper are very loud and the noise when driving, I dont even have to go 50. Its loud and I feel like I was lied to at the dealership because its trying to come apart on side front bumper. I am very disappointed in it.

Our daughter was in an accident with extensive front end damage. The airbags never deployed even though the radiator was pushed into the engine. The hood looks like an upside down V. The front bumper was removed and the side front wheel panels were also damaged. This was a 1999 Protege LX. Is this a defect that the bags did not deploy?

The fuel rail leaked fuel last March on my CX9, three months after I made my last payment. It was 8000 miles out of warranty. The cost was over $1000. Town North Mazda in Richardson and Mazda USA refused to help me with repair costs, even though this is not a wear and tear part. They did offer to sell me a new car though. I believe it was defective. I wrote several appeals for help, but to no avail. 6 months later, the front-wheel bearing went bad, fusing to the hub despite having the car checked at a dealership when I first heard the noise. $500! Now the AC switch is not working. Hopefully only a relay, but it may turn out to be a blower-motor. Probably another $1000 in repairs. This car has seen the shop more in the last 8 months than my previous Ford 156,000 miles in 10 years. No more Mazdas in my garage. Reading this site is disturbing. It is not necessarily the list of complaints about reliability, but Mazdas apparent lack of concern for its customers. Or should I say suckers. Now I know why Mazda has such a great track record with recalls. There arent any. I am dumping this CX9. Any readers should follow my advice and do the same. Expensive lesson learned.
On July 25, 2015 my new 2016 CX-5 only two months old did not want to start
On July 25, 2015 my new 2016 CX-5 only two months old did not want to start. I checked the battery and it showed it had power but my car was as dead. I called my dealer at Lodi N.J. where I bought the car for advice and Rahsheed told me to call Mazda roadside assistance and I did. Spoke with a Mazda roadside assistant and told her what was going on with my car and she told me a flatbed tow truck will be at my location within a hour. One hour later comes the flatbed tow truck and I asked the driver if I could ride along and so I did. We get to Koeppel Mazda Queens NY. I tell the tow truck driver that I am going inside to let the manager know that we are dropping off my car. The manager Andrew ** steps outside with me and as the tow truck is backing up and bringing my new car down it scrapes and damaged my new Thule bike rack. Andrew the manager tells him to stop what he was doing and that the car needs to be lowered on the street. At this point the driver is getting frustrated and levels his flatbed truck in which he forgets to put the rear straps and chain hooks on the rear of my NEW CAR and also forgets to put my NEW Cx-5 off off of neutral and failed to put it in park and Failed to deploy the emergency parking brakes on my car. He then drives forwards, fast and slamming on his brakes causing my Brand New (Mazda CX-5 GT with Tech package) to shoot forwards and crashing into the back of his tow truck causing front end damage. Three Mazda certified workers seen the accident including the service department. Manager Andrew ** and I were all in shock on what just happened. Andrew and I took photos of the damaged SUV and Andrew told me that he would take care of the report. I advised Andrew that I don want my car back due to the loss of my resale value caused by Mazda. On 8/14/2015 I stopped by the repair shop that was fixing my car to get some things I left in the car. To my horror my car was in the back of the shop dirty with my whole SUV front end sitting on top of my cars roof, not to mention both my front windows was rolled down getting dust and dirt all over the place and not to mention there goes my new car smell and the body shop wasnt even certified Mazda repair shop. I know that when a new car rolls off the assembly line everything is calibrated, the transducer in the front of my Mazda emblem with the laser on my windshield work hand in hand so that my auto brake assist work properly. Now my new car will have a damage report on carfax that I did not cause, all Mazdas fault. Why did my new car did not want to start in the first place? It was only two months old with just 2000 miles on it. Mazda Roadside assistance contracted the tow truck company NYC Tire Auto Care Inc. The incident happened in front of multiple employees of Mazda (Manager: Andrew ** (Service department associate: Izzy ** and two others from Parts Department that will vouch what happened. I will now lose thousands of dollars on my trade in when I decide to trade inmy 2016 CX-5. I stated that I dont want my car back to every Mazda personnel I spoke with due to the fact that it was Mazdas fault. I just want a brand new CX-5 with everything I put in but sadly I am getting the runaround. Even my insurance company called in my behalf and they also getting the runaround.

My car front control arm had a total failure in which the ring holding the ball joint on the front passenger side snapped the approximately 1 inch solid metal, This happened while driving. My car slammed to a halt, my tire disconnected and rotated 90 degrees. I have owned many older Classic Vehicles, and this is the first time I have seen this without a full side on collision. I called Mazda Canada, and got told the Car was out of warranty. As a result of there not being a recall on this part I am on my own. Damaged caused was Control Arm, Ball Joint, Front and Rear Bushings as well as a new axle need. You have to love being taken advantage of. This was my first Mazda purchase, and my last.

Add me to the woes of Mazda owners (Mazda 2004 MPV) with coil packs and fans that wont shut off. Replaced the fan switch last month when it continued to run after shutting off the vehicle. Replacing the third coil pack at 93,000. Three down, three to go. Would also like to know why there is no class action lawsuit yet. No fan of super torts, but I am pretty angry. Theres no recall/fix from Mazda.

After buying a 2015 Mazda CX-5 pre-owned vehicle I had a drivetrain issue at 60K miles that cost $2800 to repair in October of 2021. Even though the preowned warranty was for 7 years and 100K miles they wouldnt cover the repair costs due to some technicality they cited with the warranty agreement. The original dealership changed ownership twice in the three years, so I brought the car to another dealership for repairs and dealt with Mazda corporate for reimbursement. The dealership that did the repairs agreed it was faulty drivetrain parts, but told me Mazda corporate said it was out of warranty. After repeated attempts to contact the customer experience center both by phone and email, over several months, I could never get past their first line of customer service to make my case to anyone with any authority to review my case. On several occasions they indicated they would get back to me, but never did. I would recommend against buying a new or preowned Mazda. They do not stand behind their product as evidenced by the initial faulty drivetrain and lack of customer support.- Steve

Mazda 2009 - I have had my 1st Mazda since 2010 July. Well, first time I bought a car that isnt a Toyota. I have had both head lights go out, shocks in rear done twice, tie rod end alignment done twice and tires twice. My engine would accelerate for days past 15 miles. My brakes got stuck; I couldnt get off the expressway and missed my stop. I’m still under extended warranty of which doesnt cover any of these things. I took it to 4 shops to be looked at, Goodyear, Midas and Mazda, all of which can’t find anything wrong with this ** car.
Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda deal
Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda dealership in Peterborough Ont. I replaced a part on my car last winter after it fell off due to hitting a snow bank. A month or so later, the same part fell off my car for no reason. I did not hit anything. I took my car back to Mazda to have it replaced. After they looked at my car they then proceeded to tell that I owed them $30 or more because they looked at it and cut the piece off that had fallen off. They then gave me a quote for a new bumper and the piece that I had already replaced once. Which was over $1000. I refused to pay for a piece which I just replaced and told them I could not afford a new bumper. The lady at the service desk then told me that it looked like I had hit something with my bumper and thats why the piece had fallen off. I was insulted at the fact that she was trying to put blame on me when I had done nothing. The next day my father called and explained the situation to the manager and they then said that they would replace the part free of charge and for me to contact them to arrange an appointment. I gladly called them back and told them to order the part and that I needed to speak about finances with my dad about getting a new bumper, and that I would call them back. I called them back and set up an appointment to get the piece put on, but a few things came up and I wasnt able to go to the dealership. I cancelled the appointment, and the next thing I know Im receiving phone calls from blocked phone numbers that I have a new bumper waiting for me at the dealership and I need to come in and get it put on since I ordered it. They have called me numerous times and left what I would call rude messages on my cell phone an my home number. I called them three times on did not get an answer at the service desk. They have now informed me that they will be sending my bill to collections if I do not get the bumper put on. I refuse to pay for something that I did not order, and especially how Ive been treated. This is my first experience with buying a Mazda and dealing with them and I will never buy a Mazda again due to the experience. Im a good customer, I pay my bills, and never wanted this to go to this extent. I look forward to hearing back from you.

2012 Mazda 3 6 speed with Skyactiv Transmission problems - This car had 180 miles on it when I got it; it now has 2000. From day one, I have experienced problems shifting into 1st gear, where it just plain and simple will not go into gear. This happens whether the car is cold or warm. Also on 2nd gear and reverse. It sticks in almost every gear. It clunks loudly when putting the car into 1st gear initially and when going from 1st to 2nd. It also accelerates on its own when I am both shifting up and shifting down. I have almost hit someone at a stop light and while sitting in stop and go traffic because of this issue. It happens every day, intermittently. I feel very unsafe driving it. Mazda has said that they will contact the dealership and speak to them, because the dealership will not confirm nor deny that these things shouldn’t be happening, which is weird seeing as the car is brand new and no brand new car should ever refuse to go into gear nor drive on its own. I had a 2004 before this with zero problems and I regret buying up. I am very unhappy and in danger.

I bought a new 2011 Mazda CX-9 in January 2011. A few weeks ago, the bottom of my truck caught on fire after I heard a loud noise at a red light. Fast forward to today: it seems my transfer case blew, causing my transmission to blow and therefore causing the fire. There are no previous issues with the truck, no lights signaling an issue with the truck, nothing. Mazdas response? Well, Im under warranty, so its fully covered. Great, so can one get an explanation as to why a two-year-old vehicle would just catch on fire??? Nope, nothing, not from the dealership nor Mazda. In doing research, theres a nationwide reoccurring problem with transfer cases, and even a pending class action suit. Mazdas response? Nothing. Dodge my phone calls and emails, and dont even contact back my lawyer. Its disgusting how were the very people that gave them jobs, but the moment that a family is put in harm, they could care less. Most disgusting company I have ever come across. Mazda - you should be ashamed as to how you treat the very people that give you the opportunity to make a living. Simply disgusting!!!

Windshield has chipped and cracked so that it had to be replaced and could not be repaired - 4 times in 2 years. Is Mazda addressing this issue? I am not paying for another windshield. There is clearly a design flaw - is this how they accomplished good gas mileage for this SUV?? Id rather pay the extra fuel costs.

In a nutshell - 2002 Mazda Tribute, bought second hand. Transmission done by first owner, then we had to do it. Drove fine with only the infamous Mazda transmission complaint. Then one night in 2010, at midnight, we notice flames outside our second floor window. Jump out of bed and yell the car is on fire in the driveway, next to the house. Right next to the house. Fire dept. is called but takes a bit to respond. My then teenage son grabs a hose and attempts to keep the fire at bay until they arrive. Dark soot over everything, including the inside of the house. The last time I had driven the car was at 7:00 that evening less than a mile both ways. It was like spontaneous combustion. The next morning, we immediately called to have the eye sore of a car removed. Besides the filth that was all over the driveway and being tracked into the house, as well as the nauseating, charcoal, fire smell that permeated the air, the burnt out car looked entirely out of place in our neighborhood. It made us look like derelicts! It was like who have you irritated lately. We had no insurance except compulsory. Fire dept. wrote a report but came to no conclusion as to the cause. We were left wondering why? End of story? Think not! Beginning of 2012, we began to receive recall letters from Mazda, and we just threw them out until June 2012 when we decided to read one. Well, were we surprised! The bottom line was that if the recall(s) were not completed, the car could and would go on fire. Here is their disclaimer at the bottom of the letter (seriously): Mazda strongly recommends parking your vehicle as far away from your home as possible until you get recalls done because it may go on fire. Great, now they tell us. Before Mazda accepted responsibility for their little secret(s), they jeopardized our home, our other car, our family, and our life by negligently allowing the Mazda Tribute to remain in our driveway, next to the house. Not to mention the fact we were using the car everyday! Are you kidding me? Mazda asked to please take the car to the dealer for recall updates. After a couple of these letters I called the number indicated in the letter and recounted our story. Yes, wed love to bring our car in for these recalls except two years ago, when you apparently were still in denial, that car burnt up and nearly took our home and us with it. What do we do now? They(?) listened sympathetically and recommended, as well as provided the number for Mazda in Modesto, Ca, their mediation dept. My husband called and they told us to gather fire report and anything else we had to evidence the fire of the 2002 Mazda Tribute. My husband sent everything certified mail and as we didnt hear back, we called this assigned mediator. Well he really needed pictures of the burnt vehicle. How do I know that you didnt set it on fire? Okay genius, it makes a lot of sense to set a car on fire with no insurance less than fifteen feet from your home. The car purposely was removed expediently due to environmentally caustic conditions and the fact we were now down a car as we had no money to replace it, and who needed to see the skeleton reminder, let alone take a picture. Like salt in a wound. Final word from Mazda mitigation representative (they obviously think (and get away with it) that it is acceptable to investigate yourself). Surprise - no can do. Not enough proof! Well, the fat lady isnt singing yet. We will continue our quest for parity from Mazda of North America. All attorneys are welcome to apply. (To see what happened to some poor families as they watched their homes burn down and their family pet(s) perish, Google Mazda cars that go on fire.)

The Mazda CX9 (2008) has 51,000 miles only. An oil leak was noticed the summer of 2011. After several days, the dealer diagnosed it as a rear main seal failure. The dealer replaced the seal (having the car for close to two weeks). The car continued to leak oil this fall (2011). The dealer contacted Mazda’s headquarters and they recommended replacing the transmission, which the dealer did. The vehicle continued to leak oil during the winter/spring of 2012. The dealer claims it is the rear main seal (dealer currently have had the vehicle for 1 week). Wouldnt the main seal have been replaced with the new transmission? Other issues include two sets of breaks, tie rod, electrical overhaul, and vacuum hose problem.

I took my 2006 Mazda Tribute into the dealership for an oil change, after three days, the car had broken down. I found out that there were no fluids in the car, so the engine was cracked. I left it at the dealership for resolution. After 8 weeks of no response, we had the car towed back to the house. We called the Mazda Corporate Office but to no avail. Im disgusted with it all. I also purchased a Mazda 2005 RX8 the same day as this one, spent over $30,000 for that car, had to have 3 new engines within a year (what a joke).

2005 Mazda 6 GT head light bezel melted due to heat from fog lamps. After this occurrence, Mazda denied a third replacement. The newer model fog lights were moved to the bumpers; therefore, it was a known issue and Mazda chose to ignore this. 2010 Mazda CX7 GT NAV is outdated; Mazda refused to provide updated software, claiming NAV systems are accessories covered only by a 12 months 12k miles. NAV is standard equipment on GT model, not an accessory. It has poor material and design of smart keys - Mazda refused to replace broken key case at only 8 months old. Mazda Capital Finance bank does not inform buyers of limitation or guidelines, leaving consumers with the short end. They have Great Products (not perfect); however there is no customer support from Mazda North America.

At around 4:30 PM just last October 2, while traveling south at 30-35mph on Hunziker St. near Wall St. Tigard, OR. I had to center a piece of debris in the road and it struck and punctured the engine oil pan. This minor contact deployed both airbags which busted the windshield and knocked out my radio, vent louvers and rearview mirror. My research via the internet found this to be an issue with 95 Miatas. Please look into this issue to confirm if Mazda is responsible for the bags/glass/control module, sensors and switches. Understandably, the oil pan is my problem, and thank goodness I was not injured by the bags or fling glass and was able to maintain control of the vehicle.

Back in January, a pebble hit my windshield on my way to the airport. Needless to say, I had damage the size of a .50 cent piece. I called my insurance company and they use a TPA that replaces windshields for them. It took the company 6 weeks to install my new windshield, because every time the windshield was delivered it was cracked. Just Monday, April 25th, I am driving to work and another pebble hit my windshield. I did not think much of it, until then I saw a spider crack going up my windshield... Not again! Is there a defect with these windshields? Then, it takes 4-6 weeks for a replacement to be installed because Mazda is SO backed up from California and then they arrive broken. I would appreciate Mazda to respond and to fix this issue, as this is a serious defect! It is against the law to drive with a broken windshield. And then be told that there is a 6-8 week back order. One window replacement company told me 3 months... are you kidding me! Mazda - you need to look into a recall!!! If not, you will have class-action on your hands!

2008 Mazda CX-7. Too many problems to mention with these types of vehicles. There have been tons of recalls and if you happen to move and forward your address, they will still send the notice out to your old one just so they can screw you out getting the work performed!

I have a 2002 Mazda Protege. I purchased it used in 2008 and about a year ago, the finish on the hood, roof, and trunk started to peel off. I can see that it is starting to pit and rust. The car looks like a piece of junk. I see other Proteges, same year, and the paint is fine. I paid around $8,500 for the car and other than that, I love the car. I previously owned a Mazda and this never happened to it.I want to know if there is any compensation I can receive for this defect of the paint. I know this should not be happening to a car thats 10 years old. Help! In anticipation of a response, thank you for your time and attention.

My daughters RX-8 has been giving her a lot of trouble, completely dying at times while shes driving. Shes had it to a Mazda garage that told her that she needed new sparks plugs and wires, etc. She herself paid $1,400 to get this fixed (at this time, it was under warranty). The day after she got it home, it did the same exact thing. She took it back to the Mazda garage and then they told her that she needs a new engine, but her warranty had expired a couple days prior to her taking it back in. Now she is due to start her freshman year at college, with an unreliable car unless shed rather use her tuition money for a new engine (I dont think so). Mazda should be embarrassed to allow a young lady to feel unsafe, when she is trying to get an education and better herself. I dont know if there is any other avenue that I can take on this matter and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Had the passenger side window motor replaced about a year ago. Now replacing the driver side motor. I asked the service rep if this wouldnt be viewed as a Quality issue and his response was that he understood my frustration. Lol. Facts are not frustration, but this issue alone is enough to cause us to consider vehicles other than Mazda for our next purchase. When there are multiple failures of the same part, I believe reasonable people would consider it a quality issue.
Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing wee
Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing week over week. I purchased a new Mazda CX5 10 months ago. The vehicle drives fantastic. It just needs a lot of TLC. Paint is not evenly distributed leaving visible color distortions. Front bumper is not, absolutely not, suitable for winter driving in Canada. I went through a spray - car was to get the salt and grime off the car and the bumper just cracked. Dealer is telling me I hit something... No scuff marks, no other damage than a crack that starts exactly where there is a cut out in the bumper. This is a flaw in the plastic material that the bumper is made of. I will eventually replace the bumper but at $ 1,000.00 it simply is not feasible right now. The infotainment system is cause for long debates with the dealer and on the phone with Mazda Canada customer support. I have also put in a claim at the MTO (Ministry of Transportation in Ontario) to see if they are willing to see the point of a defective infotainment unit that requires constant attention during driving. USB drives simply crash, Bluetooth becomes grayed out. Needs a complete disconnect from the battery to resolve (plus reprogramming). Dealer states that they did a firmware upgrade but only tested for the GPS system and, since I keep that up to date (I had to purchase maps to be updated quarterly), it showed on the bill that the firmware already was up to date. That is not the firmware!! The infotainment also has a firmware that can be checked by pressing radio on/off and audio at the same time. Since the dealer made a statement that the firmware is up to date, Mazda Canada does not want to respond to any flaws or changes that need to be made. Music volume is just unacceptable. I had to crank the sound to 30 before I can even hear the speakers and there is a constant hiss at lower music levels. Dont even think of driving with the roof open. You will have to crank it all the way up to 45 or 50 (65 is the max). I purchased the GS model for this. The sunroof is a much welcome tool in keeping the temps in the car at bay in the summer. The OEM tires will not last for more than 40,000 KM by the way. Last but not least: the dealer will only work on any TSB (technical service bulletin) when the customer insist. It is not done voluntarily. Mazda Canada still claims there are no TSBs for the car - if asked why they are so secretive about this, they claim that all works as it was meant to be. The car, in their eyes, is perfect. In my opinion, the many test reports are flawed and I have also contacted these sites and producers of the shows with the facts. Also the Dealers insist you take the rust proofing and if you do the car will be ready in 4 days. I refused ant it took 2 weeks with the 3M protection film still missing. These tricks will be pressed upon the buyer when I thought I was done with the purchase. I have deep regrets I purchased the car. I will zoom-zoom for a little longer but this car will not last the full 10 years my (t)rusty Ford Taurus did. I do not recommend anyone to purchase a Mazda CX5 if peace of mind is important.

2010 Mazda 3 - Another one bites the dust. I work from the house, do mainly highway driving and put about 100 miles a week if that on the car right now. I was driving on the highway and RPM started to rev up; I couldnt switch gears and clutch gave out from underneath me. Luckily, I was able to roll off the highway when I noticed the problem. Of course, one problem leads to another. The battery then died at the shop. I had to replace it as well. This comes not even a month after the rotors for brakes hit the fan. This has got to be one of the most problematic cars I have seen. A clutch dying in less than 3 years and the worst part is my car was due off its lease next month. I assume this to be a manufacturer defect, and maybe one day they will admit to a faulty clutch. As for customer service, its some of the worst I have ever seen. They review your concerns with an eraser or write with one. Horrible company and car!

We leased a 2009 Mazda CX-7 (garaged and highway driven only). There was never a problem. The battery died. We changed the battery. Car started and then died. After one month, it again had been flat bedded by Mazda. They did a check and told me they could not find anything wrong with the electrical system, but they found sludge in the engine compartment. They had a recall on a valve which I never received in the mail. The car only had 17,000 miles on it. After 3 years, Mazda came back and said they would cover under lease or extended warranty, which I had. They said it would cost $9,500 to replace an engine with a 17,000-mile leased car and they would not stand by their product. I want to start a lawsuit on the car as I have had many leases without these problems ever and leased over 10 cars in the last couple of years with no problem.

My concern is with the rear brakes on my 2013 Mazda CX-5. While getting the service 40,000 km done at 38,909 km at Fredericton Mazda, I was informed by phone that my rear brake pads had worn out to the point where they had destroyed the rotors and I was on the hook for a $459 bill plus extra for the 40,000 km service. Fredericton Mazda assumed that I had skipped my 16,000 km service because I had it done at City Mazda in Halifax at 15318 km. When I brought the car back into Fredericton Mazda at 22752 km to have it serviced they just carried out the 16000 km service again assuming Id neglected my brand new $43500 vehicle. The 24,000 km service includes an inspection of the brake system in the car. When I informed Fredericton Mazda about the service in Halifax, they said theres no way they could have known about it being carried out, which makes sense. However, logically if a qualified service rep/mechanic drove the car in to be serviced, according to the service report he should have logged KM in and KM out. Which leaves me to wonder how the Mazda Service rep got the car into the garage to even carry out the service without noticing the KM on the dash. If the service rep had logged the KM of the car on the way into garage which I might assume to be proper procedure, then the 24,000 service may have actually been carried out and the brakes may have been inspected. All that aside, 38,900 km is far too soon for brake pads to be worn to a point where the rotors are destroyed, considering the fact the front brakes are still at 50% and 10000 of my km are highway to Halifax. When I asked The Fredericton Mazda Service rep if this has happened before he said, Yes, but he also informed that he had seen one at 120,000 km. Fredericton Mazda ended up paying for the rotors that were destroyed in what Ive been referring to as a brake failure, but I was left with a $210 charge for brake pads and labor to replace them. I informed them that this was unacceptable and there is clearly something wrong with the rear brakes but they refused to acknowledge this or even call Mazda Canada to inquire about the issue. To summarize, I have dire concerns with the quality and safety of the braking system in my 2013 CX-5 and if steps arent taken to have this resolved, then I will be switching car companies for good!

I purchased my used 2006 Mazda in 2007. Since that time, Ive had the vehicle aligned four times, the front struts and bushings replaced, and Ive purchased 12 tires...two of which were for blow-outs due to inner tire wall wear. Each time Ive replaced tires, its been due to inner wall wear. Now, Im again faced with the need for new tires all the way around once again, but also rear suspension shocks. And I also need to replace the front struts/shocks once again. Ive maintained my vehicle and tires appropriately. I do not use my car but on city roadways and highways. No potholes or dirt roads, etc.; per car fax, this vehicle has no history of any damage whatsoever. After reading multiple websites, as well as the NHTSA concerning these very same issues with the Mazda 5 models from 06 to 10...I contacted Mazda USA. They were of no help. I requested the changes that were made to the Mazda 5s that resolved these issues and was flat-out denied this information, and when asked why they couldnt provide, they continually ignored my requests for an explanation as to why they were withholding the updates and changes. They also stated they would be of no assistance to resolving this major safety issue. Im shocked as to why they would withhold information to a Mazda 5 owner who carts around her family daily. I want to know how to properly correct this very dangerous issue, but was denied this information after multiple attempts to obtain it. With the amount of complaints concerning the very same issues with this particular vehicle...something needs to be done to ensure the safety of the families who ride in these cars daily with the potential risk of tire failure. Since its the inner wall wearing, operators cannot see the damage; they only see the outer tire, which shows minimal wear... Its very serious and very dangerous...

Please let it be known that I nor my family will EVER be buying another Mazda ever again and I will be making it very public about how Mazda “helps” their customers. I leased a 2016 Mazda CX-5 after thinking it was the best decision for my family. I am now 8 months pregnant with my second child, have had the car for less than 2 years and the display screen is glitching. I found out it needs an infotainment display screen that will cost me $1200+. This is a MANUFACTURER issue and according to dealerships a known issue with these cars. It’s nothing I did and Mazda’s response back to me was, We can cover most of it but you will still have to pay about $400. So let me get this straight. I am LEASING and planned on financing what was at the time a brand new car in which a display screen went in less than 2 years which is a manufacturer issue so I cannot check any maintenance, no radio, etc. and I’m ** out of luck with getting it fixed? Great job Mazda. NEVER AGAIN.

We have had a 2015 Mazda CX-5 for about 6 months. Its a comfortable car and is pretty fun to drive (no comparison to my BMW X5 35d but then it was half the price!) My wife drives this car 98% of time. Most of the miles are on the Interstate. We are very unimpressed with the mpg. Claimed for the 2.5 AWD is 30 highway and 24 town with 26 avg. - we are nowhere near that. The current average is 21 mpg! Yes its been awfully cold but even my diesel Bimmer only loses -1.5 mpg average (which is still 25.5!). Ive also found the AWD to be mediocre at best. We have a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek that my oldest son drives and it is 10 times the vehicle in snow. My advice is dont believe all the magazine reviews! Apparently all the ads Mazda is running sells cars and gets good reviews. In hindsight, I would likely have been better off with the Subaru Outback or Honda CR-V. The fit finish and appeal of the CX-5 are great. But if you are most concerned about fuel economy and winter roads...keep shopping.

We bought new a 2011 Mazda and everything with it is great except for the air condition always being clogged. So far to date, it seems that its been clogged 5 times and each time, its costing me money to get it unclogged. They told me that there is NO RECALL for it nor a repair except of the CONSTANT UNCLOGGING of the AC. I love my Mazda but I know this is a deal breaker for me to constantly get it repaired for the same problem over and over again. I just dont understand to why Mazda have designed this so poorly! We had a Toyota Corolla, a Mazda Accord and a Pontiac and we have never had any problem with their AC being clogged. This is so frustrating!

I have a 2010 Mazda 5 with 23,200 miles which I owned for just under two years. I had a rear tire blow and brought the vehicle to the dealership. The tire was worn on the shoulder down to the steel belt but the rest of the tread was fine. The dealer contacted Mazda but because I could not prove that I rotated the tires (I do them myself and I check tire pressure bi-weekly) and because I did not have an alignment done at 12 months/12,000 miles I was not covered under warranty. This is completely unacceptable for a car that is less than two years old to have that kind of tire wear. I took the car in for an alignment to a third party and was told that both rear cambers are out of spec but they cannot be adjusted once they leave the factory. I believe I purchased a defective vehicle but Mazda will not replace it and it appears there is no fix to prevent it from happening again. The cost of the alignment and four tires was $582.

The clutch on my Mazda 6 (bought new) wore out after approximately 10,000 miles. Replaced by Mazda Main Agents, this also failed after approx. 10,000 miles. Again replaced by Mazda Main Agent, and lasted only around 10,000 miles. Regularly serviced by the same Mazda Main Agents (except just once).I am 81 years old, have held a driving license for well over 60 years. For many years did all my own servicing, maintenance and repairs. You name it and I have almost certainly had it in pieces. The exceptions being gearboxes and differentials. (Never had one of these fail). I claimed reimbursement for these repairs, but was told it was due to my riding the clutch. Rubbish! when I learned to drive back in the 1950s riding the clutch was a sin because, in those days cars were fitted with carbon (graphite) clutch thrust bearings which being soft would wear out very quickly if one rode the clutch, modern cars are fitted with tapered roller bearings or simple ball races. I never wore one out but the ingrained lesson never to ride the clutch has stayed with me ever since.A letter later from them suggested that I was accelerating away from traffic lights etc. too hard, insinuating that perhaps I was a bony racer. In my 20s, 30s and 40s this MIGHT have been the case, but in my 70s and now 80s I am long passed such behavior. I have done everything required of me prior to taking them to the small claims court, including utilizing the facilities of Mediators but they still keep coming up with silly replies. The latest being that I have the clutch examined by an authorized independent company. They also said that this would be impossible because the parts were thrown away on being removed. I am about to write to them yet again informing them that I have, together with other items, both the clutch and the scored flywheel that was replaced in my garage.Advice to everyone considering purchasing a new car, DO NOT BUY A MAZDA without checking the record of service one can expect from your Mazda main Agent. If anything fails, it would seem that they will do anything to avoid recompensing one for anything failing. My claim will be made under the Customer Rights and Protection Act, under the section stating that any purchase should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. All the time that this correspondence has been going on, (several months) the worry and stress has had very severe adverse effect on my health. They have been informed of this but apparently consider it not worth their while to make any comment on it. Hopefully, if you wish, I will come back to you and let you know the result.

I bought my cx5 last jan 2014 here in the Philippines. I am already having trouble with my thermostat, with the aircon, with the bluetooth. They have poor after sales service. They want to tow my car without any replacement. I only have one car. I cant complain to anybody. Here they will make you feel its your fault you have flaky unit. They want to charge for the repairs. The is less than one year old. Still without warranty. I tried calling mazda Japan but they dont have contact number. Cant complaint to anybody. I should have bought German made car. POOR after sales. Not reliable. Have a back up car because mazda will break down anytime.

I bought a brand new CX5 in Soul Red in May, 2014. After normal driving in summer road conditions, have already noticed 2 chips in the hood paint. I turned in a 2008 Honda CRV with almost 100K miles on it and had no such paint chipping. I was told the paint wasnt under warranty and tough luck. Very disappointed and can only imagine how terrible my brand new car will look after a winter and road salt hacking away at the paint. I have never owned a car with such an issue and now see many complaints with regards to Mazda paint.

I bought a Mazda RX-8 with an engine warranty and Mazda refuses to pay for a new engine. There is also a recall on a part in an airbag and they refuse to fix the damages caused by a faulty part. If you are looking for a car dont go to Mazda unless you are looking for nothing but disappointment.

We own a 2010 Mazda CX-9 and we are having significant issues with the brake booster. We called the customer service department at Mazda and were told to bring the car in. Once we brought the car in we were very rudely told that we would have to incur the cost of inspection and possibly repairs. The brakes are hissing very bad and they are very difficult to press down on to get the car to stop. I was in the car with my young children and was very afraid that the car would not stop. I explained all this to the service department and they said that the part would be upwards of 750.00 and that it did not qualify for the extended warranty due to the amount of miles on the car. I cannot believe that with all the complaints about the brakes that they would not honor their car and fix it properly to ensure the safety of their drivers. I am very disappointed and hope that someone steps in and does a recall asap so there are no accidents that could have very easily been avoided if they would just fix their faulty part!!!

I loved my Mazda from day one. In July 2007, I leased my CX-7, AWD, Touring. In July 2010, because I loved it so much, after test driving several other cars in the same class, I financed the rest and kept it. I have proof of all my oil changes and maintenance to the vehicle. I paid it off nearly one year early with some of my retirement savings so I could enjoy not having a monthly payment for the first time in my life. I also put brand new tires on and another $3,000 of maintenance, replacing the cracked transfer case, leaking oil cooler and loose ball joint (as recommended by Mazda). I responded promptly to all recalls by bringing it right to the dealership I leased and purchased it from. In January 2015, my family was in the car on the way to the mall. The check engine light came on. My husband and I argued for 20 seconds about how he felt there were always problems with the car (I still disagree to this day with the always part). 10 seconds later....the engine shut off, he was barely able to steer the car down an exit ramp off the highway when the car completely stopped. Black smoke came pouring out of the hood. We grabbed our two toddlers out of the their car seats and I stood with them in the freezing rain while flames shot out of the bottom and sides of the car and my husband called 911. Ill never forget how I stood there with tears streaming down my face, shivering and trying to hold my babies while my Mazda that I trusted for almost 8 years, burned beyond recognition in front of me. Thank God nobody was hurt. We dont know what caused it since no warning lights were on prior to that and nothing was reported to me by Mazda service when it was in the shop not even 6 weeks earlier. The insurance money is barely covering what I put in to this car in the last 5 months. I wont buy a Mazda ever again, and I suggest you dont either.

I leased CX-3 for 3 years from Mazda. When I returned it, I thought my car looked pretty well maintained except the curb rash on the wheels. I was wrong. The wear and tear charges were more than $1000 dollars because they charge for every little thing you did not even notice when you had your car plus on damages that Mazda should be responsible for. For example, if you drive in rain or wash your car, there will be water damage in the headlight that is going to cost you $350 for EACH headlight. The receipt is the final list after I made them remove a few things. I am leasing a car from Mercedes too, and they are not charging me for every tiny scratch like Mazda did. So if you lease a car from Mazda, make sure you fix everything including tiny tiny scratches and damages caused by their poor assembly.

I bought my 2021 Mazda CX-5 in February of 2021 in Saint Louis, Missouri. I travel for work and I am currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. My vehicle began making a roaring sound from the passenger side tire. I thought it was odd because my car only has 30,000 miles on it. I took it to a local mechanic because the closest Mazda dealership is over 100 miles away. And I did not feel comfortable driving it. Turns out my wheel bearing is bad. I called Mazda customer service and they said “Yes that wheel bearings are covered under warranty, and they can call for a tow truck but there is no guarantee that a tow truck will be able to come get it, and if they do there will be no guarantee that it can be dropped back off. I have no other vehicle to pick it up. I asked if I could just take my vehicle to a mechanic and have them repair it and be reimbursed and the customer service rep said, “no it will have to be a Mazda dealership for warranty to cover it.”In conclusion, there is no guarantee that my vehicle will be picked up, and if it is there is no guarantee that it will be dropped off. Also no reimbursement so I am paying out of pocket. What is the point of a “warranty” that does not give you options to repair your vehicle? The customer service rep said she would transfer me to her supervisor and that she also sent her my number in case we got disconnected. She hung up the phone and I never received a call from her supervisor. Mazda warranty is **.

I leased a SUV Mazda cx5. Had 13000 miles and the motor went Bad (lemon car). The NJ MAZDA DEALER TOW the car and called me after few weeks and told me MAZDA USA the low of the car business will not take responsibility and fix the car. The car is in the dealer lot RAMSEY MAZDA NJ since Sep 2017. I been paying $359 a month and insurance for 14 month and I have no car. I just filed a lawsuit against Mazda USA and Ramsey Mazda and stopped paying for the car, and they have the nerves to ruin my credit too. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. DONT DEAL WITH THIS GUYS. THEY DONT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS.

Front Axle on 2005 Mazda 6 - I just drove from Clemmons to Wendover Avenue in Greensboro and suddenly the front of the car sounds like I drove over a boulder and the engine fell out. I managed to coast to Sheets Gas Station. The car would turn on but would not go forward in drive or reverse. Called a tow truck and took it to the Mazda Dealership. The front axle is broken... I could not imagine how though... have not run into anything or rear ended anyone. I just had the axle worked on in Hickory. Not happy but blessed it was not the transmission.

I purchased a 2017 Mazda 6 Sport at Fremont Mazda. So far I absolutely love my car. My salesman was great in having everything ready when I came in to sign I because I had to get back to work by a certain time. My problem is with Mazdas finance department. A little background. The last time I purchased a new car from a dealership was 30 years ago. It was very simple. I was offered upgrades. I declined. No problem. This time around when I got home I Sat and looked over my contract and saw optional service contracts below was Mazda Maintenance $2,150.00. I recall the finance person mentioning oh and you have 5 years free maintenance at any Mazda Service Center in California. My thought is oh that must be the manufactures warranty.I contacted my salesman and Im told its for a optional service contract. I was never offered this optional item, no one said to me we can add this free maintenance service to your purchase for an extra $2,150.00. I was furious. My salesman contacted me. Said if I didnt want it they would remove it and write up a new contract. I went back to the dealership. Signed a new contract. My car payment is now $50.00 a month cheaper. That should have been the end of it but lo & behold I find another optional on my contract in the amount of $795.00 for Debt Cancellation Option Agreement which I googled and is GAP insurance which again I was not asked if I wanted this insurance added to my contract.Oh on the first issue I filed a complaint with the State Attorney Generals Office Consumer Complaints. Today Im waiting for The State Insurances Commissioners Office to call me back and advise me what I should. My real concern with all this is how many other people have been victims of the same and dont know where to ask for help or arent even aware optional items have been added to their contract without their consent!

I bought my Mazda 6 brand new almost 2 years ago and havent had any trouble with it at all. My Mazda is very well designed. My car is very well designed and has all of the current options available. It is comfortable and the ride is quiet. It handles well in bad weather. I love the many features such as the blind spot monitor, tire pressure monitor, Navigation system, Boise radio, Bluetooth for hands free phone and other features. I feel safe and confident driving my car. If I ever need or want to buy a new car again, I will buy another Mazda.

I purchased a 2013 Mazda 6 in 2013. Since that time I have had to replace brakes a total of 15 times and the headlights a total of 15 times. The brakes were replace the first time at 18,896 miles and the headlights at 20,662 miles. This is the worst car I have owned. They are now trying to get me to purchase another Mazda. Are they crazy?
Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car
Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car. First problem was tire life. The original Bridgestone Duelers lasted 29k, and yes, proper inflation and rotation, and alignment. Subsequent sets met with only marginal improvement. Went with Perreli Scorpions, and Yokohamas. At 99k, last week, I foolishly purchased a new set of Michelins (60k warranty). My plan was to drive this thing until those tires were shot, and call it a day. Mind you, Ive met or exceeded all service schedules, to include flushing the tranny last spring. Heres a short list of the problems with the cx-9: Drivers door seal leaks creating excessive noise in cabin. AC controls are intermittent between front and rear compartment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Power doors refuse to lock as the indicator light states I have a door open. Both keyfobs failed, and dealer wanted in excess of 300 to replace and reprogram. I opted with using the hard key, but had to have that programmed. Passenger door window wont go all the way down. Dealer had two attempts to fix that, and its doing it again. Now for the biggies: 60K Pass side rear wheel bearing went, $500.00. Then, Huge clunking noises coming from somewhere in front end suspension. I replaced tie rod ends, and stabilizers with greasable Moog fittings. Still have the clunk noise. Learned this was due to failed lower ball joints on the control arm. I was heartened to hear that a recall was pending and made the appointment with the dealer after my tire installer confirmed my suspicion. Within one week of putting the tires on and Within days of scheduling my ball joint/control arm repair, my wife pulls up the driveway and the sound coming from the drive-train was like she was dragging a washing machine behind the car. I will limp it into the dealer tomorrow a.m. to find that at minimum, I will need a new transfer case. This is completely unacceptable! If you take care of your vehicle, as I have, this stuff should not happen! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAZDA.... and shame on you Ford Motor Co for supplying the POS parts on this vehicle without proper vetting.

My daughter brought her Mazda Tribute 2002 in for the 6712A Recall, which is something to do with the ABS Braking system. The dealer that did the work was very nice and courteous. She lives in North Dakota and had the work done in North Dakota. She was not having any trouble with the ABS braking system but thought she should have it done for safety reason per the notification she received in the mail. After the work was done, she drove away and a little ways down the road her ABS Light came on. So, she turned around and went back to the dealer that did the work. They checked it over and could not find why the light is coming on. She explained that the light has not coming on before and now after the recall, that is coming on and staying on. The dealer said that she was going to have to pay to do the diagnostic testing any further in order to fix it. They sent my daughter away with a questionable proper working braking system because Mazda didn’t want to pay for a recall procedure that more than likely is the cause of the problem. My daughter went home, parked the vehicle and called the Mazda Headquarters the next day (1-800-222-5500). “I recommend everyone that reads this, call and complain about the response I receive about this situation”. They said exactly the same thing; she would have to pay for any further diagnostic testing to find out the problem. At that point I called to hopefully clarify the ethical thing to do and for the important customer service we all hope to receive in any situation like this. I tried to emphasize to them the level of awareness to the liability issues in sending someone you love dearly home, with possible braking issues. But they stuck with their resolution that she needs to pay to fix it. Never mind the safety for their customers. They said that I may not have anything to do with the recall! Maybe it was just coincidental that the light came on now. They said that if the report comes back that it was caused by the recall they would reimburse her for the correction/diagnostics. Why would she have to pay first for something that was never wrong at the beginning? I told them to put it all back in the way it was. Mazda said they can’t do that due to Liability reasons. Wow! Go Figure. My point is that it’s not the money issue with this, it is the ethics and I would like to see some real customer support in something nowadays.

I have had my 2014 Mazda CX-5 for six months and it has less than 2100 miles. The fuel pump has already gone out. Now I have to wait for the part to be shipped from across the country before it can be repaired by the local dealership service department. Also, I have not gotten anywhere close to the fast mileage I expected. I am starting to wonder if I should have purchased another Ford. I drive a Ford Escape Hybrid for over six years with no mechanical problems and great gas mileage.

My Mazda 2010 CX7 is at the dealer and it needs the timing chain and the turbo charger to be replaced. The car has only 39,450 miles on it and I have sent Mazda warranty department copies of oil changes much more than they required and they denied to fix these parts due to sludge in the engine due to lack of oil changes. I have changed the oil and filter in my vehicle approximately every 3400 miles of which Mazda requires at every 7500 miles. They are stating that it is not a manufacturer defect but lack of maintenance. This is false. It is all over the internet that similar problems have occurred time and time again with the CX7 from 2007. Now Mazda is refusing to warrant the work based on sludge. The car is defective and it gets too hot thats why if there is sludge, it builds up the car. It is not made right. The warranty states that these parts are covered up to 6 years or 60,000 miles. I am well out of that range at 3 years 39,000 miles. Mazda needs to address this ongoing problem and start taking responsibility for the defects.

Bought a used Mazda CX-7 July 2016. July 2017 the left front control arm broke while driving down the road. Had my mechanic make the repairs to the car. Sept 2017 I get notice that there is a recall on the issue that occurred. Had the car to Mazda dealer August 2018 and repairs were made as per the recall but now Mazda USA does not want to reimburse me for the repairs made by my mechanic in July 2017 since it was done after the August 10, 2016 date of the recall which I knew nothing about till Sept 2017 when I got the first notice of the recall. Finally got them to look at the info but now they are using the fact that I dont have a bank statement from July 2017 showing the repairs were paid with my Visa when the slip from the garage is clearly marked paid Visa. Big company just looking for any possible loophole to get out of owning up to their mistakes.

We bought 2 cars from Mazda Delray Beach. Both cars brand new. Less than 3 miles on each. We bought a 2009 cx9 and later a cx7 2010. Both cars has problems. The cx9 blind spot monitor, air conditioner, window motor, front and rear window motors. The cx 7 problems with the same problems. Windows front cannot close. Front door driver side lock came off. Right front passenger door lock messed up, it cannot be opened. Rear right window cannot go up. My cx9 has 46.000K miles 8 years old and the cx7 just turned 60.000K 7 years old.I was told that it is normal for those repairs to occur. Thats ** ! We have bought cars brand new cars from Nissan, Infiniti, Mitsubishi Motors and we never had any problems with these cars like what we are having with our Mazda cars. Infiniti, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors we drove them to their limit and all we did was oil change and maintenance tire change. Think 4 times before you decide to buy a Mazda.

I purchased my vehicle 2 years ago and just recently got to 20,00 miles and had to have the rear disc brake pads replaced because they barely passed inspection. I called the customer service number and they said they would gladly replace them free of charge if I went back to the dealer immediately that day to get it done. I then learned that this is a flaw that some of the CX-5s have including the current models. I leased my vehicle so I will be returning it before the 40,000 miles when it will probably need them again. It is expensive to replace them every 20,000 miles when they should last at LEAST 40,000 miles. If I owned this vehicle who would have to keep replacing them when they wear sooner than they should, ME!!! That is an expense I can not afford.I also have an issue that when you open the back hatch there is not enough light to see what you are doing. I like the way the car handles in the snow, which is why I leased it to begin with, to see how well it did. I like the car and would love to buy another when my lease is up but I dont know if I will because of the expense of replacing the discs every 20,000 miles.

I leased a Mazda 3, hatchback in August 2016. At my 10k servicing at the dealership, they indicated unusual wearing of tires. I asked for them to be replaced. They said no, it was a limited warranty on the tire. At 15k servicing, the same conversation. At 20k, the same conversation. Found out these tires on a new car, have no mileage warranty... at all. The dealership will not replace the tires. At 32 months of the lease and 22,700 miles they will do nothing. I like the car, but not the tires, and Mazda will do nothing, as the dealership watches a customer complain, and knows it is a problem. Others have complained about the same thing. I would not purchase or lease another auto from Mazda, or Groove Mazda, in Centennial. Really poor support of a customer. Not what anyone wants.

I have had to replace my brakes and rotors twice on my 2009 Mazda 6. The first time I replaced the brakes and rotors, the car had 23,180 miles. Mazda did not admit fault, but basically covered this up by good willing my rotors and only charging me an inflated price for the brake pads and rotors. I had to replace the brakes and rotors a second time at 68,012 miles (36,975 miles after the first time). I filed a formal complaint through Mazdas corporate headquarters and got nowhere. They say its normal. The mechanic who just replaced my brakes and rotors for the second time and has 20 years of experience completely disagrees. I have a string of emails between Mazdas corporate rep and myself that I can provide. Mazda is completely unwilling to do anything and refused to even pass my case along to a supervisor. I am concerned that I will have to continue to absorb the cost for a product defect that Mazda is not willing to admit it happening. I would like to pursue legal action.

My 2013 CX-5 broke down in the middle of the highway while my wife was driving. She got too scared and was able to exit and call the tow company. Engine light came on. Car sputters and almost stalled. Later dealer replaced 2 coils and 2 spark plugs. Other many small issues with this dealer too (Gyro Mazda in Toronto). I have MAP (Mazda-added protection). But when I try to find out exactly what is covered, service says they dont know, see sales and sales says service know. I dont know if this problem with only this dealer or all Mazda dealers like this.

They do not treat customers very well. Their cars are substandard and when I try to get my car fixed, even more mechanical problems arise. Coincidence? I had to bring in my car twice for the same issue only to go to a third-party to have it fixed properly. Having said that even more mechanical issues have arisen. When I talk to them they are very condescending and rude. It was shocking at first but after a few times of trying to reason of them I discovered that they do not care about the customer. I recommend not buying a Mazda or dealing with any of them or their associates.

I had an accident in my Mazda 6 on February 17, 2012. I was totally innocent as someone drove up the back of me. My car was towed to a local crash repair. They ordered replacement parts from Mazda on 27/2/12. To date, they have still not received the parts from Mazda and hence I am still without my car. I contacted the customer support area to find out what the problem was and they advised that Mazda was moving warehouses and unfortunately they couldn’t locate the parts. I rang them back today, 17-4-12, only to find that some parts will still be at least 10-14 working days away. I have been without my car for 8 weeks and will not be getting it back in the near future. Mazda definitely do not live up to their value statement.

Mazda headquarters in Clermont Florida is terrible. I know many people who worked there and lost their jobs for no reason. The managers of the store dont know how to sell a car and the customer service is horrible. Dont ever buy a car from here. Its not worth your time or money.

My 2017 Mazda CX-3 has rust problems on the roof and hatch panels within 4 years. The smallest stone chips will lead to migration of rust under the paint causing bubbling. The underside and the inside of the hatch rusts even without stone chips. The bottom inside weld of the hatch rusts. This was not sprayed when I had the car rust proofed (so request it). Mazda declined my claim under the 7 year rust perforation warranty. They are still not choosing to design their cars for the North American rust belt. Similar complaints can be found on internet forums. Otherwise this is a good car.

I purchased a used 2008 Mazda CX-7 in 2010. The car was in mint condition. A few months later, I would occasionally hear a ticking in the engine but the car ran fine so I thought nothing of it. I kept up with my oil changes. Last Thursday, I started the car and heard a terrible noise in the engine and my check engine light came on. I went home and did some research and discovered that the timing chain on the VVT is a huge issue with this vehicle. Thousands of inquiries and complaints. I researched recalls and discovered that Mazda has extended the warranty to 70,000 miles. My car has 52,000 miles. I called the dealership and they confirmed the extended warranty and told me to bring my car in. He said nothing else except that it would be covered. When I got to the dealership, they inspected the vehicle to make sure it was the timing chain problem before I left it. The service manager came out to the waiting room and asked me to talk with him privately in an office. He showed me a paper towel with what looked like chunky oil. He told me he would not be able to cover my car under the extended warranty because I had sludge and did not maintain my vehicle properly. I took that as an insult and told him I did get my oil changed. He asked me to provide receipts which seems ridiculous to me. Unless someone goes to one oil change place religiously, how do you keep track of all of those receipts? In my case, I have a friend do most of my oil changes. No receipts. I called Mazda direct to complain. They told me that they would forgo the receipts if they had permission to remove the valve cover and check the condition. At my expense! I called about 6 independent mechanics around town and they all told me the CX-7 has a sludge issue. That no vehicle with 50,000 miles would have sludge that bad even if oil changes werent performed at regular intervals. That no vehicle should need a timing chain at 50,000 miles. It is an obvious defect in the design and Mazda doesnt want to pay out millions to correct their mistake. I cannot afford a $1200 repair and now after reading all of these complaints, Im afraid my engine is going to blow. Mazda needs to take care of their customers!

This is my 3rd Mazda and all have been completely reliable and cost effective without being “stodgy” looking. The 2019 CX-5 is fun to drive while still being economical, supremely comfortable and safe! It’s loaded with so much amazing technology that Mazda employs a tech person to explain it all!

Purchased the 2014 Mazda CX5 in November of 2013 in Appleton, WI from Bergstrom Automotive. Noticed immediately the rear passengers inside windows were frozen solid and that snow was blowing inside the door of the rear passenger side. Called Mazda immediately and they told me they had no complaints about this issue. They told me to take it to the dealership to test it out. The problem was they test it inside and not outside when the weather is freezing. They did nothing about it and sent us home with the Mazda. They said I could trade it in for about a $5000.00 loss and get a new 2014-2015. The 2014 only has 3800 miles on it. The experience has been a nightmare.

I went to see and purchased a used car from Mazda of Palm Beach. Almost none of the features on the carfax ad were correct. The dealer claims it is Carfax issue. I never would have paid the price I did had I known the complete options on the car.

My wife purchased a brand new Mazda CX-3 GS and after just over 6,700 kms, when put into Drive it would take anywhere from 6-12 seconds to engage and move forward. It didnt even make it to the first oil change! We brought it into Regina Mazda and they were able to duplicate the problem. We were told that a new transmission would have to be ordered. However, they couldnt give me any sort of a timeline and couldnt locate any available assets in their system. Its been almost a week and we havent received any update from the dealership. We were given a Mazda 5 for a loaner but had to return it as it was their shuttle vehicle and then received a 2016 Mazda CX-5. Still waiting for update. :(

Yes, my wife and I have gone through five Mazdas in the course of fifteen years. We used to purchase European cars exclusively, but have since jumped off that ship! Quality control issues abounded with our European luxury cars. Anyhow, this is a Mazda review. First off, let me just say that people are most adamant about getting their voices heard when they are upset; it is human nature to complain. However, it isnt often that we will write home about positive experiences unless they were truly out of the ordinary. On that note, this has been my experience with Mazda in the past fifteen years. My wife and I purchased our 2001 Protege MP3 brand spanking new, off the lot, in late 2000 after our BMW 325s engine failed completely. We had the MP3 for about five years and clocked in 260,000 miles. In that amount of time, the trunk started to retain water after 50,000 miles. What did we do? We removed the plugs in the trunk to let water out; PROBLEM SOLVED. At around 100,000 miles, a clunk started to appear in the rear end of our MP3. As it turns out, the bushings were bad on the rear sway bar. We upgraded to polyurethane and problem was solved. At around 160,000 miles, the rubber intake hose developed a crack so we installed a cold air intake. PROBLEM SOLVED. In 2005, we were t-boned when a motorist failed to stop. Our poor yellow MP3 was totaled; it went to automotive heaven and was dearly missed. Overall experience with the MP3: smiles every time we drove the car. The MP3 did not have the best fit and finish, had a harder sport-tuned suspension, and had more road noise, but we felt so connected to the car each time we drove it. We decided to purchase a brand new 2006 Mazda6 S (V6 manual) off the lot after the death of the MP3. We loved the little 6, which was roomier than the MP3 and much more upscale. The double wishbone suspension made U-turns a hassle, but boy was it fun to take around twisties. In 2009, we decided to purchase another vehicle so we opted for the 2009 Mazda6 GT, which- unfortunately - was only offered in an automatic. The 2009 was certainly more of a blast in a straight line (much more hp than the 2006) but was somehow lacking in overall driving connection. Additionally, Mazdas decision to switch to MacPherson struts somehow made the car feel more tame. After clocking in 89,000 miles on the 2009 MZ6 we traded it in for a used 2007 Mazda5 (only 12,000 miles and a manual transmission! ) in the summer of 2012 because our family grew to a size of four (two more kids) overall. In the fall of 2013, the Mazda5s thermostat went out, so that was a $40 fix and 30 minutes of my life taken away. Afterwards, the throttle body on the MZ5 gave out on us in 2014 at 95,000 miles. It was a $180 purchase for a new OEM TB, plus $15 for new coolant and 20 minutes of my life. It was around this time that we decided to purchase a ‘14 Mazda3 Sport (manual) in February 2014 because my wife and I absolutely fell in love with the cars aesthetic. We drove the car out the lot at $21,500 with huge smiles on our faces. It is now February 2015 and we still have our 2006 Mazda6 S (128,300 miles), 2007 Mazda5 S (112,200 miles), and 2014 Mazda3 S (3,111 miles). In the years that we have owned the 06 Mazda6, we have only had to change the oil, brakes, tires, and coolant. NOTHING MECHANICAL BROKE DOWN. As for the Mazda5, the biggest issues were only the thermostat and throttle body, which set us back less than $300. The 14 Mazda3 is still too new, but no issues have arisen yet.Overall, our collective experiences with our Mazdas have been very pleasant. We conducted extensive reviews before our purchases and we had realistic expectations of Mazdas flaws in their cars (bumpy suspension, increased road noise, etc), so not once did we feel cheated by Mazda (or anyone else for that matter.) However, for every day that we drive our cars, we love the experience. Sure, they arent Porsches or Ferraris, but for the money, they were certainly a pleasure to drive. Plus, can you fit five people and 30 cubic feet of cargo in a Ferrari? I think not. This has been our experience with Mazda. Who knows, we might be outliers in Mazdas brand quality? We intend on getting the ND Miata soon as well. I hope this review was helpful.

This Mazda CX-5 had replaced one that I really enjoyed. But it does fulfill my needs but its not the type of car I would normally pick out. I like the fact that is all wheel drive. I like the pep in the engine and the gas mileage. I do like the fact that every Mazda has a GPS in it and I like the heated seats. However, the CX-5 is just a lower class model than I was used to previously. The CX-5 is a fine car but I wish that the radio system had XM or Sirius radio.
