2025 Rolls-Royce Phantom

The 2025 Rolls-Royce Phantom is the flagship luxury sedan from the marque, representing the pinnacle of craftsmanship, refinement, exclusivity and presence. It combines a monumental road presence with bespoke luxury appointments and a chassis tuned for serene, effortless motoring.

Powertrain & Performance

It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 engine, producing approximately 563 horsepower and around 664 lb-ft of torque (depending on region/specification).

The power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, providing smooth and refined acceleration.

The quoted 0–60 mph time is roughly 4.5 to 5.1 seconds, depending on configuration including the long-wheelbase version.

Though not built primarily for sporty driving, the Phantom’s chassis includes sophisticated features like four-wheel steering, advanced air suspension, active anti-roll bars and a “road-scanning” camera that precedes rough patches and adjusts ride accordingly—creating a “floating” ride sensation.

Fuel consumption is modest, as expected for such a large, ultra-luxury vehicle; figures around 12-14 mpg US combined are typical in many markets.

Design & Interior

The exterior design maintains the classic Rolls-Royce proportions: long bonnet, upright Pantheon grille, “Spirit of Ecstasy” hood ornament, formal sedan profile, and an option of standard or Extended Wheelbase (EWB) versions. The EWB version adds significant rear-seat legroom and enhances the limousine character.

Inside, the cabin is extraordinarily well appointed: exquisite leather upholstery, open-pore wood veneers, hand-polished metal trim, deep carpets, and an optional “Starlight” headliner embedded with fibre-optic lights. Rear riders are treated to features such as power-adjustable seats with massage, footrests, a chilled rear compartment, bespoke rear-seat entertainment options, and an ambiance akin to a luxury lounge.

Customisation is a major part of the Phantom experience—buyers can choose from thousands of exterior colours, two-tone paint options, bespoke graphics, personalised stitching, and even dashboard “Gallery” inserts to display client-specific artwork or motifs.

Practicality for its class is good: while not competing with family-sedan cargo space, the Phantom offers a usable rear seat and trunk for a car in its elite luxury category.

Technology & Features

The Phantom incorporates advanced ride-control systems such as the air suspension with 4-corner control, camera-based surface scanning to anticipate road irregularities, and active chassis components to suppress body roll and isolate occupants from road imperfections.

Driver-assistance tech includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aids, night-vision, 360-degree cameras, guided parking and other high-end safety/comfort aids.

Infotainment is discrete yet modern, with hidden displays to preserve the cabin’s elegance. Rear-occupant comfort features include optional panoramic roof, rear-screen entertainment, chilled cup-holder compartment, and extensive rear seat adjustment.

Every aspect of the Phantom emphasises subtlety, quietness and refinement—so technological advancements aim to enhance the experience without drawing attention away from the ambience.

Strengths

Arguably the most luxurious sedan you can buy: The build quality, materials and attention to detail are at the very top of the automotive world.

Commanding presence: The Phantom conveys an image of exclusivity and prestige unmatched in most segments.

Superb ride comfort: The chassis and suspension systems achieve a ride quality that few other cars approach, isolating occupants from nearly all road disturbances.

Tailored customisation: The level of bespoke individuality available means very few Phantoms look or feel the same—enhancing exclusivity.

Combination of performance and serenity: While not a sports car, the Phantom delivers plenty of power for effortless acceleration, all while maintaining a tranquil cabin.

Things to Consider / Trade-Offs

Price: The Phantom is extremely expensive, and the cost of customisation, options and ownership (maintenance, tyres, fuel) is correspondingly high.

Size and manoeuvrability: At full size and weight, the car requires space and is less agile than smaller luxury sedans—parking or tight urban driving may be less convenient.

Practicality compromise: Although roomy for its class, the Phantom is still a luxury sedan aimed at a very different market than family-SUVs or high-utility vehicles; if large cargo space, third-row seating or maximum utility are priorities, alternative vehicle types may be better suited.

Efficiency: Not a key focus—fuel‐economy is modest, and ownership costs should be considered.

Ownership profile: The Phantom is as much about statement, status and bespoke luxury as it is about transport. Buyers should understand their use case and ensure the car aligns with their lifestyle rather than being a purely utilitarian choice.

Ideal Buyer Profile

The 2025 Rolls-Royce Phantom is ideally suited for someone who:

Seeks the ultimate in automotive luxury, preferring a vehicle that is more than transport—it’s a statement of taste, exclusivity and refinement.

Wants a sedan that offers the height, comfort and presence of a limousine, but with the refinement and performance of a bespoke luxury car.

Values craftsmanship, bespoke personalisation and extraordinary build quality above mass-market features.

Is comfortable with the premium investment, both purchase and ongoing ownership costs, and not purely focused on utility or economy.

Uses the vehicle for formal occasions, luxury travel, chauffeured driving or private ownership wherein the ambience, comfort and exclusivity of the cabin are paramount.

I have owned this car for a few months and I have loved every moment in it. It looks absolutely amazing and I love it so much. The performance is what you would expect from a 5,000 pound car.

I have had a 2019 phantom since the beginning of April and the car has been in the shop at least 3 times because of vibrations coming from the wheels and tires. The last time it was in the shop for 3 weeks! Other than that I really like the car. I think that the customer service of rolls royce is not that great.
