Review: 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline fires back at Jeep and Subaru
Posted On: December 31, 2022
Ford’s had enough of adventure-seeking families in the market for a crossover SUV heading to Jeep and Subaru showrooms. At least, that’s the impression the 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline gives. With more ground clearance, a smattering of off-road-oriented hardware, an upgraded suspension, and all-terrain tires, Ford's created the most off-road capable Explorer yet. But while it should be enough to sway some from a Subaru Outback, it falls short of stealing Jeep’s lunch. Capability on a diet Like the Subaru Outback, the Explorer Timberline goes light on the off-road capability compared to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Let’s just call it Capability Light, the 95-calorie capability. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline Every Explorer Timberline has a 2.3-liter turbo-4 rated at 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque under its hood mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. While that’s more power than any Subaru Outback and it’s adequate in the Explorer, the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain in the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will leave this Ford in the dust. In day-to-day driving the Explorer’s turbo-4 is the definition of fine, but it starts to run out of steam in highway passing maneuvers. I don’t question the Timberline’s maximum tow rating of 5,300 pounds, but I do suspect it will struggle to tow confidently at highway speeds. That’s a test for another time. Senior Editor Robert Duffer also noted lumpy first-to-second and second-to-third gear shifts, though I didn’t have the same experience. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline Where the Timberline takes a right turn down a gravel road from other Explorers is its suspension and running bits. Ford swapped in a set of heavy-duty shocks (which were yanked from the Explorer Police Interceptor’s parts bin), upgraded the stabilizer bars, and installed off-road springs with more rebound up front to reduce jarring off-road movements. Company engineers also went with taller 265/65R18 Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain tires, and added skid plates below the engine, transmission, and rear-end. They also recalibrated the steering to mesh with the suspension changes. The result is the best-riding Explorer money can buy. On broken Midwest pavement the Timberline soaks up road imperfections and keeps them in the background. Body motions are well controlled, and with a slightly wider track than the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, the Timberline feels a bit more stable going down the highway. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline The approach angle improves over the standard Explorer from 20.1 to 23.5 degrees, while departure angle rises from 22.0 to 23.7 degrees. But with 8.7 inches of ground clearance (up 0.8 inch over a standard Explorer), the Timberline comes up short, literally, next to the Subaru Outback Wilderness with its 9.6 inches of ground clearance. And the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will go much deeper into the wilderness with its disconnecting front sway bar and 10.9 inches of ground clearance when raised up on its air suspension. The Jeep also has a 2-speed transfer case to let the SUV crawl over rocks and through streams. The Explorer? It’s living a lie with a 4WD badge slapped on its tailgate despite the fact it lacks a 2-speed transfer case with low-range gearing for low-speed torque and control in the toughest off-road situations. It goes about its business with an all-wheel drive system that sends power to the wheels with traction. The Ford’s best feature is its Torsen limited-slip rear differential to help keep wheel spin in check during slippery situations. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline But, like the Jeep, the Explorer’s ace in the hole, which the Outback lacks, is a terrain management system. The system has Normal, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul, and Eco driving modes. While my off-roading excursion in the Explorer Timberline consisted only of a gravel farm road, I’ve had extensive experience with Ford’s Terrain Management System as it’s featured in everything from Raptors and Broncos to the Expedition. It’s one of the best systems in the business and truly tailors the powertrain and traction/stability control for the conditions at hand, though it’s telling that it lacks Rock Crawl and Mud/Ruts modes on the Explorer Timberline. The bottom line is the Explorer Timberline will provide the off-roading capability most buyers need better than other versions of Ford’s mid-size three-row SUV. However, it will hit the end of the trail when confronted by the technical, low-speed stuff that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk can handle. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline Playing undercover undercover cop With blacked out headlights and taillights, chunky all-terrain tires, 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, and grille-mounted LED fog lights, the Explorer Timberline looks like an undercover cop car. The orange Timberline badges and tow hooks reveal it’s a Timberline, but they take more than a quick glance to spot. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline The grille-mounted LED fog lights strips on either side of the Ford badge actually perform more like driving lights. They do a terrific job of lighting up the road, but the beams are focused down the center of the road in between the headlights rather than spreading to the sides of the road. They also can’t be used with the high beams, though they can be used in conjunction with the round factory fog lights mounted lower in the bumper, which is an odd choice. The top-mounted fog lights are engaged by an AUX button on the headlight control dial. An orange light indicates they are active and has an aftermarket look. 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline2022 Ford Explorer Timberline Inside, the Timberline is standard Explorer fare, including the analog gauge cluster with a 6.5-inch information display and 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The standard satin silver colored trim with Timberline-specific graining Ford called Stone Mesh is nice to look at and touch, but it’s the green interior with orange stitching that is so hot with ’90s vibes that tugs at my childhood heart strings. While the green interior looked fantastic with my tester’s Forged Green paint, it’s unclear how it would look with one of the other available colors. Those green seats are soft, supportive, and road-trip worthy. The first two rows are extremely comfortable, and the seats are wider than those found in the Grand Cherokee. But the third row is a bit small for adults. It’s acceptable for quick trips around town, but no one past grade-school age will want to spend real time back there. The Outback has no third row and neither does the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. At $47,450 as tested (though the base price has since been raised to $51,475), the Timberline falls in the middle of the Explorer lineup between the Limited and the sportier, more powerful ST. It’s also about $11,000 more than a Subaru Outback Wilderness and $14,000 less than a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. The Explorer Timberline sits between the Jeep and Subaru in price. It can’t match the Jeep’s off-road capability, but is roughly equivalent to the Subaru as long as 8.7 inches of ground clearance meets your needs. Depending on the off-road adventure capability you desire, the Explorer Timberline might pencil out to be the right fit. You certainly can’t get a green interior in a Subaru or Jeep, and neither of those have three-rows of seats. So, how far do you really need to go off-road and with how many people? Ford provided a green-on-green Explorer Timberline for this review, but your author supplied the Minnesota backdrop

The Transit Connect wagon is a surprisingly well appointed mini van costing much less than the competitors. This vehicle has been a big hit in Europe for several years and is now breaking into the US market. It has great visibility, a very responsive engine, and plenty of room for 6 passengers. It drives and handles well. I especially like that the back seats fold down flat. We can safely haul our 4 dogs in 4 midsize hard shell dog crates (two side by side in the back, and two facing either sliding side doors) and still have room for gear and luggage. I’m very fond of the wireless cellphone cubby in the dash, no changing cables! It has separate climate controls and comfortable heated seats for the driver and front passenger.

We drove a very short way to our local tractor supply company to pick up feed. I was in the store for about 15 minutes. When I got to the register someone said, Theres a truck on fire in the parking lot! The fire had just started. It was up in flames and burnt to a crisp in less than ten minutes. Flames shot 20 feet up in the air and it melted the pavement under the truck. We would have been dead if it had happened twenty minutes sooner. The fire department made it in good time, but the truck was already totaled. Everything in the cab was ruined, including all three childrens car seats. Thankful I have comprehensive insurance. Its a total loss. I have no truck. >:-o Up until this point, this truck ran like a top and was very reliable.

Soon after purchasing a 2010 Ford Fusion... I noticed the interior had broken seat parts and each time I attempted to put it on it wouldnt fit. The tires needed rotating... There was no bulb light when backing out. The sales person said he would order the bulb... never got one. The ignition sometimes keeps going when I turn the key... The gas hand sometimes doesnt move. My minimum down payment was $600, salesman asked for $1000 and for me to not tell anyone. My payments I was told $300 monthly. I pay $389, I cannot afford to make repairs... and car payments. Went to several dealerships about trade options... and all three said I got screwed. Car might bring $5,000-$6,000. I owe over $15,000. I appreciate the Lender giving me an opportunity to re-establish my credit. And I have also hired Lexington Law Firm for assistance. I only ask that I be given a trade option. This has been and is very stressful.

I was going about 15 miles per hour after taking off from a stoplight. The truck started bucking and I could hear a popping sound from the engine. I pulled over and opened the hood and noticed the COP vibrating loose. I drove it 3 miles to the dealer. I opened the hood again and the COP was completely broken off. This was the second time this happened. Ford will not pay or own up to it because they have since fixed the issue in newer vehicles. They are waiting for these to be phased out so they can save money by turning their back on the customers. I am a US soldier and its sad that I defend such spineless cowards!

While driving down a 4-lane Expressway, my 2011 Ford Edge accelerator pedal stopped responding. The car did not lose all power, the accelerator just went dead. The car was idling very roughly, but when I pressed on the accelerator pedal nothing happened. There was no shoulder on the road so I had to stop in the middle of the road! I am SO lucky that no one rear-ended me before I was able to maneuver off the road. I turned off the car and waited a minute or two and turned the car back on. The accelerator was working so I headed home. The car went limp two more times before I arrived home a couple of miles down the road. The next day my husband followed me to the dealership with his emergency flashers on. My Edge went limp twice on the way to the dealership. The mechanic was familiar with the problem and diagnosed a bad Throttle Body. It was replaced for about $650.00 and the car runs fine now. This problem is common and needs to be addressed before someone is killed! I thank my lucky stars that this didnt happen on a busy interstate.

The truck is amazing. Great ride. Very smooth for a truck. Had it for 3 years and not one problem with anything. Ford f150 is a very dependable truck. It has lots of cab room a day. A very smooth ride. Easy to steer and to maneuver in traffic. Great visibility for a truck as well out all windows and mirrors.

I had a 2011 Ford Edge. Vehicle had high miles and I expect things to go wrong over time but this is just STUPID ENGINEERING!!! When the water pump goes on 3.5L engine it leaked coolant into the oil because it is built into the engine. No warning, and water in the oil basically destroyed the engine unless you are fortunate enough to catch it by fluke. If you are proactive and replace the water pump you are looking at 15 hours of shop labor plus parts and but there is no recommendations to do this in any manual. My motor is ruined and I will never buy a Ford again. WHAT A HORRIBLE DESIGN! There are several Ford engines with this design. This is a motor that is designed to fail. Dump your vehicles before this happens to you.

Car broke down, 4 hours later still waiting for a phone and/or tow truck. Every time you call the number for the roadside assistance, you get asked the exact same questions as if you aren’t already in the system and haven’t already called over 6 times! What kind of crap is this? In a bad neighborhood, no AC since the car is down and no one seems to know why we don’t receive calls or text messages or why we haven’t been assisted. What’s the point of calling it Roadside Assistance. You’re assisting me to stay on the side of the road??? You don’t need anymore bologna, cause Ford you’re full of it already. This has convinced us to take back the Ford and never do business with them again.

Recently my car was smelling like gas, so we pulled it out of the garage for a day not sure if that was actually the problem. Again after leaving it in the garage over night the smell was very strong of gasoline. We took it to a shop right up the street thinking that maybe it was a gas filter issue but once they lifted the car up it was clear that there was a gas leak at seam or the half full level as described by the automotive technician. We were referred to the Ford dealer. We called the dealer who informed us that there was a recall on the gas tank for this vehicle and to bring the car in. I paid over 80 dollars to have the car towed to Avis Ford in Southfield, Mi. from Belleville, Mi. Only to be told that there was a mistake and that the 2009 Edge was not included in the recall. After doing further research I have found that many Ford models from 2007-2014 have had gas tank leak issues. Manufacturer related not customer related damage to the tank. It frightens me to think that something as important as the gas tank should EVER leak because of manufacturer NEGLIGENCE and then when addressed with the dealer, the same dealer that my family has purchased 6 cars from that I would be told it wasnt covered. So when does the recall actually go into effect on a car/part? Does it take us dying or being seriously injured to create a recall on something as serious as a gas tank? I travel with an infant in my backseat 5 days per week and cannot imagine a gas related fire in my car with a baby in a 5 point restraint car seat and being able to get them out safely in an event such as that. I have always purchased my vehicles based on safety ratings first, but I guess the Ford built Edge is a hoax for customers like me.Prior to todays car problems, I had my car into Avis Ford several times for transmissions problems. Gear slippage within the first year of ownership and continuously over the years. They could never find anything wrong with it. The problem got so bad that I took the car to Precision Tune on 8 mile where the Master Mechanic said my transmission was bad, the fluid inside was black and take it to the dealer and I would need a new transmission. I went to the dealer and my car was still under warranty. I showed them the Info from the shop I had just came from. They kept the car a few days, said it was just a leak. They repaired the so called leak and said I did not need a new transmission.Few months pass and I return to the dealer with the same issues and I am no longer under the warranty. Im then given an estimate of $4600.00 worth of transmission related work. I feel like Ive been sold a $ 40,000.00 LEMON and only have 60,000 miles on it. Sadly I will never buy another vehicle from Avis Ford nor suggest anyone I know to either. I have decided to notify the BBB, the NTSB and whatever agencies govern these issues.

First off if I could take away the star I was required to give I would. I own a 2001 Ford Excursion, have wanted one for some time, after purchasing the truck I was completely satisfied with it. But a very short time later I experienced my first spark plug that blew out. Luckily (why I dont know) it didnt take the threads the first time out. Well tonight I have now experienced my total of my third plug blowing out. Money for me does not come easy, and I can assure you the money I spend on a truck will not line the pockets of Ford Motor Company in the future. I know my claim alone is not enough to make a difference, after all its FORD MOTOR COMPANY, one of the if not the largest motor vehicle company in the world. They have all kinds of money. Well they have received the very last dollar from my pocket on anything of their products.Sure they have some nice looking cars/trucks. But that alone is not enough. I have other cars here with half a million miles on them, yes literally half a million miles and not once, not one time ever have they ever blown a plug out of the motor. And for a company the size of Ford to sit and do nothing, well thats just unacceptable to me. I am 100% interested in anyones class action lawsuit that they may put together, and I’ll make sure I spread the word in any forum, car boats or the like about the ongoing problem with FORD MOTOR COMPANY. We live in the age of internet, to have a problem like this and do nothing, well its a time bomb. Sure the company will carry on and probably never hear or see my issues but I can assure you that there are thousands of people that will. Thank you and I apologize to any other ford owners experiencing the same as I have. It just plain sucks. I can be reached **. Thank you for your time.

About six months ago around midnight my 2001 Ford truck caught on fire in the engine compartment and the fire was caught by our security camera. The next day the fire inspector informed me that there was a recall that was not performed on the truck and the defect was a switch under the hood that caused engine fires. I contacted Ford several times. Each time they said you will receive a letter within 15 days. Well its been months and nothing has been done by Ford?? I believe that Ford should have paid me for the loss of the truck.

I ordered a Lincoln Aviator Black Label in April. In August I was given the VIN number and was told that this car would arrive in two weeks. As of this date (12/17/2019), the car has NEVER shown up. Because of this, I was forced to buy another car that was not the same as I ordered or wait until???? Now I find out that ALL the things that I thought were part of the Black label package are ONLY available at certain select dealers. And none of these are near my house. I cannot even get a free car wash. Also, yesterday my wife had a flat tire and when she called Lincoln she was told that there was nobody close enough to help her. So naturally she called me to fix the problem but only after damaging the tire trying to get off the road.My question is how does anyone lose a car like the one I ordered after it is built?? And when you pay $7,500 extra for Black Label you should get something other than someone telling you that they cannot help you. Lincoln has a long way to go, to get their standards up to the foreign dealers. I called Lincoln today, and was advised that they will file my complaint. I am sure I know where!!!! The car is sitting in the garage after I removed the tire myself and ordered a new one. It will be a week to get this new tire, without the use of any car. All this just days before Christmas. Someone should tell me why a 74 year old who just had abdominal surgery 4 weeks ago had to remove the tire and why I paid some much extra for a Black Label that means nothing??? I am writing this after talking to Lincoln and realizing that once they have you money, they could care less.Robert **

I believe someone may have tried to break in my 2015 Explorer. I never realized that my door handle was plastic. All it took was a screwdriver to break it. Fortunately they were scared away. Otherwise they could have pried the lock and got into my vehicle. This handle is used on 2011 - 2017 models, part number 78218A14. This piece of plastic cost $68.50 plus tax. It is poorly made. They wanted a fortune to install it so we are taking it to a body shop who will install it for $30. Be aware that they change prices on you from one day to the next. We were quoted $68.50 on Friday and then on Tuesday they wanted $75. Ford used to be my favorite car manufacturer, but is not anymore. This vehicle has a lousy paint job that Ford would not stand behind, issues with the battery, and seat belt problems.

My 2019 F150 4X4 Supercrew has 1200 miles on it and was purchased July 1, 2018. The drivers side door makes a loud cracking noise when opened or closed. It started out of nowhere approx 2 days ago. I’ve only driven it about 15 times. I took it to the dealer, Pompano Ford, and 2 service techs and a body shop tech looked at. The 2 service techs said it might need to be lubricated, but the body shop tech said the black hinge was faulty and needed to be replaced. It’s difficult to tell if the noise is coming from the part of the hinge that’s connected to the door, or the part that is connected to the body. He said the door has to be taken off to replace it. I asked him if the door would be put back on the way it was new, he stated he couldn’t guarantee it would be exact, but may be slightly off after the repair. They did not have the part, but would contact me when the part arrived.

Paint is bubbling along edge of hood on passenger side. I understand, from other stories on Internet, prior TSBs and lawsuits, that this is due to contamination during painting (the hood is aluminum so would not rust). Ford and Ford dealer have no apparent interest in making this right.

Went to get a oil change at dealer, a scheduled maintenance (I didnt have a appointment). Was told that I had to have one. I asked if I could leave it and pick it up that later that day or pick it up the next day. They made me a appointment for the next day for a oil change and tire rotation. That was in the service agreement that was prepaid. Had my better half pick the truck up. She was charged for the service. Called them the next business day, a Monday, asked how we can fix this. They return the call telling me that I need to come back for the rest of the service and I would have a check. I took it back, was informed that I have a appointment for a tire rotation, but dont know nothing about a check. Talked to the service manager by phone, was told she had no idea about this that she would bring it to me. I told her that I will not be in town, to give me a call back on Monday. NEVER got a call back. I had to call them. I was told that the general manager will call me back, that didnt happen. Got a call that they needed my address, gave it them. Got another call 4 days later. Have check, but not signed. I told them that if dont have this in my hand by Monday, I will see a 3rd party on this. This individual out of his own pocket brought it to me. I told him, THIS DEALER GIVES FORD A BAD NAME. But I want to make others aware of this establishment and this is not the FIRST time I have had problems with this dealer, BUT IT WILL BE MY LAST.

I bought a Ford Escape 2015 brand new car. During the warranty, DVD player, Bluetooth stop working so they have upgraded software. During warranty, wheel nuts was damage in a year, but they said its not covered so end up paying $200 or so. Steering coating started peeling out but again it was under warranty so was covered. Now after 3 years, DVD player and Bluetooth stop working again. Dear says its not under warranty even though I explained them that issue was incurred within 2 years. Called Ford customer service head office but found they are useless. I strongly feel that their vehicle and customer services both are sucks.

I bought the car with 2,000 miles and they said is considered as new. I had the same problem as everyone here. During the past four years, I have taken it to the dealer 4 times for the transmission clutch. The last time they said there was another piece that needed to be replaced, so the transmission does not fail anymore but that piece was not cover by the warranty. I paid about $300. Looks like the warranty will be covered by piece. I dont understand. Right now is the fifth time my car is at the dealer and I hope they dont come with the same story. The automobile is a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police Intercepter with a 4.6 liter engine with aluminum heads. While traveling down a very long hill at 60 mph, I heard an explosion and then a much louder engine noise. Upon investigation, found a spark plug sitting on top the engine and coil broken completely from the mounting screw. I began a massive rabbit trail into the cause of the failure and the various repair methods. It appears this is a universal failure due to a faulty engineering design that resulted in only a few aluminum threads holding in a steel spark plug. The aluminum is over stressed and fractures from the enormous repetitive shock on the scant threads that hold back all the pressure cycles. I believe that the cover up goes all the way back to the first year or two. The dealership mechanics must be ordered to claim they have never heard of this problem, because all the non-dealer mechanics all know about it. Hundreds, if not thousands of victims to this dangerous design flaw are suddenly stranded or left in life threatening situations such as an engine on fire, stuck in the winter or desert heat. The factory requires a head replacement. There are cheap tap and helo type springs to make a temporary repair, but a kit such as Calvan 38900 or an ATD 5400 Triton kit for $250 can possibly make a semi permanent repair, if you have air tools, cylinder blow out and inspection tools, and know how to lower the cylinder and close the valves before the procedure. So I got a chase tap, it cleaned the threads but the spark plugs still will not go into the engine head. Since this is an enormous problem for consumer and for Ford, a compromise should be for the Ford Manufacturing Company to at least pay for the job to remove all the plugs, install the ATD 5401s in each cylinder professionally, after first blowing all the shavings out of the cylinder after the drilling and tapping the new oversize threads. I personally am older and in disability and am in a bad situation. Do I invest in the tools and kit ($800 or so) or do I just look for a Toyota or other quality car to replace the Ford junk? In any case, Ford Motor Company should recall all the aluminum blocks with this serious defect. They had full knowledge and could have recalled within a couple of years, but instead chose to cover it up. Now we the people are supposed to foot the bill? Replace my heads with ones that cant blow out spark plugs or replace the engine with steel heads.

My car is currently disabled from driving due to a severe transmission clutch shudder. I have been told many different things in regards to my vehicle by your customer service team. I also found that they had very limited empathy to the fact that my car was so significantly impacted by a clear manufactory issue that I almost got into a significant accident and was fearful for my life while driving it recently. My car first experienced the shudder after a year of driving it. It was attempted to be fixed in February 2017 for the exact issue. The problem subsided for awhile, and then gradually came back. The first dealership that tried to fix the issue was All American Ford in Old Bridge, NJ. The people here were competent and were helpful, because they were reimbursed by Ford for their service. The shudder returned of course. I went to a Ford dealership in Lakewood, NJ. Called Larsen Ford to see if they could look at the continuing issue. The service advisor Dave ** who I met with didn’t greet me. Another employee said hello and acknowledged me. Told me to sit in front of Dave. I sat in front of Dave, who didn’t even look at me while he was on his computer. After, I guess looking into my VIN number finally addressed I was sitting there in front of him. Discussed with me that I had no available warranty on my car in regards to the transmission clutch shudder issue, and then stated that it might not be transmission clutch shudder issue without even looking at my car. I felt he didn’t even discuss or look at my car because he knew it wasn’t going to be reimbursed by Ford. He also made me feel like I lacked intelligence, probably because I am a woman and acted like I knew nothing in regards to the car’s issue when in fact it’s hard not to know since Ford is currently being sued for the issue. I quickly left there. In between finding another dealership to help fix the problem, my car was completely affected by the transmission clutch shudder issue. It was terrifying driving it while this Accord, and a giant truck almost plowed into me, because the car jerked forward and back with acceleration and also when braking. It was brought to All American Ford in Point Pleasant, NJ where it is currently sitting because Ford does not want to take responsibility for their poor design manufacturing issue by placing a clutch system that burns off. My car is not currently being worked on, because Ford states that only certain cars can receive the extended warranty under the Customer Satisfaction Program 14M01 - Supplement #6.The customer “satisfaction” program has not satisfied this customer. In trying to reach out to your customer care representatives was even worse than dealing with the dealerships. I spoke to multiple representatives who had a difficult time understanding my English pronunciation and each told me different things: 3/15/19 - Jane told me that when requesting to speak with a supervisor it was pointless, because they will tell me the same thing. She was also unable to tell me exactly why my car was not covered under the warranty hence why I wanted to speak to a supervisor. She did note to request a supervisor to contact me in a business day.3/18/19 - I did not receive a phone call from a supervisor, so I called back again. I spoke with a John who told me that a supervisor placed a call however he couldn’t tell me when or what number so that I could make sure to answer. No supervisor of course was available. I asked to make a FM360 claim, he said only a supervisor could do that. Requested a supervisor to call me back. In addition, told me that dealerships can talk to Ford corporation in regards to reimbursement of warranty funds. 3/19/19 - A supervisor called me at 7:00 pm, however I was eating dinner with family after a long day at work.3/20/19 - Spoke to Gail a supervisor who informed me that the warranty is not covered for me because my car was made in October 2013 not in June 2013 (only a couple months later). I expressed my concerns since its the same exact transmission clutch shudder issue attempted to be fixed the first time, and why are only certain lucky Ford owners experiencing the same issue the only ones privileged to be reimbursed. In addition, she informed me that previous representatives could have filed a FM360 claim even though they told me a supervisor could. I also asked why the TMZ module is covered, however the clutches aren’t. She could not answer that question. She kept on repeating herself, talking over me in a scripted manner, and did not address my specific questions. I requested to speak to another supervisor other than Gail, and she denied my request. I kept on clarifying her statements and requesting for her to note to speak to another supervisor in case they had other information. In short, she denied my request and hung up on me.Ford has not rectified their design manufacturing mistake and would like to make their customers pay out of pocket for their error. I have a car that is not even 5 years old in which I have to pay $2000 for. I have paid for new tires, oil changes, and checks. I have made sure my car is updated on my end. My car is not driveable and I have to spend every day speaking to your employees who don’t want to help. In addition, due to research and speaking with Ford dealerships the problem will still continue even if the clutches are replaced.Ford has a responsibility to their customers and to keep them safe. They have designed and made unsafe vehicles and are unwilling to help out ALL of their customers. I hoping that someone will be in contact with me in regards to my issue. I am requesting that my current Ford dealership be reimbursed for the clutches. I am told that even if they replace the TMZ module, the car will not drive without the clutches being replaced. Someone needs to rectify the issue.

In 2012, we had 3 coils replaced. Later that year, one of those coils had to be replaced again, this time at Fords expense. In 2015, we started having the same problems. Took the car to Courtesy Ford in Sanford, Florida. This is where we purchased the car. They told us there was an extended warranty but it was expired. So we had all the remaining coils replaced. Now, a month or so later, we are having the same problems. What I want to know is...why did Ford issue a temporary extended warranty yet continue to put the same defective coils in the cars? Ive checked online and see others are having the same problems. Can someone tell me why Ford is NOT fixing the problem? We are loyal Ford owners but this is pushing us away from Ford. I do not expect a reply to this. I think Ford no longer cares about these issues unless someone is killed due to their faulty equipment and parts.

We own a 2016 Ford eco boost F150 truck. At 20000 miles it had a catastrophic engine failure. The spark plug went into the piston which went into the head and destroyed it. We had it repaired at a Ford garage and after 3 weeks picked it up and on the way home from Alabama to Pennsylvania it failed on the interstate with major engine failure. At the time we were towing a trailer and used road side assist. We paid out of our pocket because they said we had to and have yet to be reimbursed even though they say we are approved and should never have had to pay ourselves. The truck had been repaired with zip ties and they did not hold and the fuel rail let fuel go over where and 6 heads needed replaced. We were told it was lucky we didn’t have a fire. We are asking for a buy back but we can’t get a response and none of our expenses have been paid. We were traveling and had hotel bills and rental vehicles as the parts for the first repair were not available. Disappointed in Ford.

This morning I get a call from my daughter to say that while taking her kids to school, she had stopped briefly to put some gas in and, while fueling the station manager and several other people rushed to her vehicle with fire extinguishers. My daughter quickly got my grandkids out and, stepped away to let the guys do their job. Once the fire was out and things cooled down a bit. it was evident that the cause was from the exhaust swelling up due to heat and pressure of a clogged catalytic converter system. Thanks, EPA IDIOTS. You nearly burned my daughter and grandkids alive due to your stupidity. Ford should recall this whole damn line of vehicles (but wont) due to costs. My 2015 Ford Taurus Limited has left me stranded 4 times since I purchased
My 2015 Ford Taurus Limited has left me stranded 4 times since I purchased the vehicle. The problem seems to be with the fuel pump module, which has now been replaced 3 times in less than 3 months. The reason I am complaining is because of Ford customer service. I reached out to them on 9/26/2016 at 10:33 AM, and I was told that a regional customer service manager would contact me in 1 day. It is currently 11:13 AM on 9/28, and I havent heard from anyone. First of all, I have been without a vehicle for 4 of the last 6 days which affects my job, family, income, and personal responsibilities. There seems to be no sense of urgency for Ford and its customer service department to help me. I currently own 3 Ford vehicles, but I feel as that means nothing to them, and they could care less that I am a loyal customer. I feel that Ford needs to step up and take some responsibility and do right to me by compensating me for the missed income and expenses that have occurred due to this faulty vehicle. I have rented cars because of being stranded, and last week spent the night in a parking garage in downtown Chicago in my car with my family due to the failed vehicle. This is not right Ford! I shouldnt be the person that is paying for a troubled car that has only 26K miles. Sure the warranty is still in effect, but what do I do when stranded places? I doubt this will go anywhere but maybe someone from Ford reads this and steps up.

We have a 2015 Ford Explorer. The paint on the hood is actually bubbling off. We took it to a Ford dealership and spoke with the service manager and he confirmed that it was a defect and that they had seen the issue before. He suggested we contact Ford for resolution and gave us a number to refer to. We contacted Ford and since the car was over the warranty by miles it was not in years. They denied the claim stating it was out of the warranty period. We took it to an auto body shop and they again stated that it is a common issue with Fords because the hood is aluminum and does not hold the paint. We initially brought this up while we were within 1000 miles of the warranty as well as 6 months before the 3 year mark. We cannot believe that a $50,000 vehicle has the paint peeling due to a defect and they refuse to stand behind it. We had purchased the extended warranty but apparently it does not cover the paint. Ford should be ashamed of themselves. This is not a quality product. Last Ford we will purchase!

I bought a 2015 Mustang EcoBoost Premium Convertible from a Ford dealership. I was very happy with my purchase initially. A year later, 1 week before my warranty ended, I got A/C and seat heating/cooling issues. I took my vehicle to a Ford service and they were super helpful in the beginning. They told me all my issues were covered under the certified pre-owned warranty and they even gave me a rental for $2/day because I had premium vehicle benefits. They also said there was a nail in one of my tires and they would patch that up for $35 and the rest would be a $100 deductible. They put me on a Lyft for free and I got my rental from Enterprise. I only paid for insurance. It was too good to be true! The day my vehicle was supposed to be ready I got a call from the service center. They told me they fixed the A/C but the seat heating/cooling would be $750!!! When I asked why, they told me there was something syrupy in the electrical system under the car and a soda can probably exploded inside the vehicle! I swear to God thats what the guy said. Of course, this is completely BS. I mean I would have to clean the entire interior of the vehicle if something like that happened. There were no stains anywhere inside my vehicle and this guy had the audacity to suggest that a soda can EXPLODED in my vehicle and it magically only got in the electrical system under the seat. Needless to say, I was really pissed at this petty attempt to charge me an extra $750 and I contacted Ford customer service to deliver my complaint. They basically replied me with an automated message saying how they understand my frustration but they fully support the dealerships decision. Long story short, I am not saying never buy from Ford but just be aware that in their core they are a company that puts making money over their customer service and they will milk every penny out of you if they can. There are better car companies out there folks. I know that I will never ever buy a Ford again but if you do choose to risk your money you have been warned and its on you now.

Purchased a 2011 Ford Fiesta SE. After the purchase, I had problems with the transmission. Ford has been unwilling to repair this well known problem. How as a company, when you know you have put out a faulty product do you not stand behind it and repair it? This is in excess of $3,000 to repair myself. Additionally, Ford customer service and consumer affairs were rude and not at all helpful. When I called them they told me since it was beyond the 7 years they would not help. I asked for a supervisor and they told me no, that the supervisor was just going to tell me the same thing anyways. I then filed a complaint with the BBB. When Ford called to respond to that, they called from a blocked number and left a quick message, basically saying that they did extend the warranty and its basically my fault I didnt repair it in that time (even though I didnt have the car at that time). I just traded my 2013 Edge to get the new and improved 2015 Edge... Have the EcoBoost 4 cylinder in both and the 2015 improvement on the motor is great but the rest I am not impressed. It came with the cheap mats Ford installs and so I ordered the all weather mats for another 95.00 only to find the driver mat doesnt even go up under the pedals where most of the crud falls off... Whats up with that Ford. I sure some DS blamed his accident on a pedal catching on the mat. Next the driver seat is terrible uncomfortable with the seat portion bolster way higher than the seat so I carry my weight on the outside of my thighs. I am not a huge guy at 5-9 190 either... Other complaint is they shrunk the controls behind the steering wheel and I find them more difficult to use. They are quieter inside but overall I wish I had my trade money back and still driving my 2013 Edge... Not really any improvement overall in my book. I will be looking for something else in a couple years for sure.

2008 Ford Heavy Duty F350 diesel turbo 6.4 engine - We bought a Ford because we have always bought Fords, American made. When we bought this Ford we were happy, we shook the guy that sold it to us hands as he said, Youre getting a really good truck here. You keep up the oil changes and get new tires when needed, you probably wont have it in the shop only to get new hoses at 300,000 miles. What a nightmare that statement has become. We had trouble way before 28,000 with the way the turbos and engine ran. They said they fixed it. We kept changed oil and got new tires when needed. Continued having problems $6700 worth. We ask for them to look at it and they said nothing was wrong. That that is the way it was suppose to run. At 53000 it totally quit.We took it in, they suggested clearing the emission records to help it perform better and get new turbos. They did that. We still was not happy with the performance of driving the truck. 8 months & 900 miles later it was back in the shop. The shop said theyd take care of it, stayed in their shop for 1 and half months but made it worse and they towed it to a Ford care 30 miles away. SO they had it 1 and half months, changed turbo, found that the pipe going into turbos was melting on the inside and they said it was good. I was going to take it from there to trade it. They thought that all the problems Ford had on these trucks that now it was taken care of with the Pipe being replaced, $2300 cost. So I took it home. Next day we went 20 miles and the radiator was leaking. When I called the Ford care place, the man said, Oh that is another problem Ford is having with the Ford trucks, it cracks on the seam. So another $2200 that should have been a Ford recall. Im tired of hearing everyone complain about the Ford truck and the US Highway Safety Department not taking care of getting Ford to recall these. IF there are this many complaints about the 2008 to 2010 models then there should be a recall and Ford taking care of the cost! These are not maintenance problems. This is factory problem. Doesnt it seem crazy that Ford dealers do not even want to give you anything for the truck on a trade in? Does it seem crazy that the Ford company care places do not even care to have them come into their shops?

The Ford Five Hundred has been a great car for me and I really like it. It has leather interior and has lots of cup holders. I like the way the back seats fold down to give me more trunk space. I really enjoy the heated seats the best. So great in the winter time and they really help. But I would like the car to have four wheel drive for better driving during the winter snow season. It does seem to slide easy on slick streets.

I leased a Ford Fusion 2013 for my son and it had some damage to the front end. I took the car in to my body shop and completed the repairs. I turned in the vehicle on same day I picked up from the Body shop. Two weeks later Ford says I owe 1900 dollars for excess wear. I challenged their assertion by requesting to inspect the damage. Ford said that the car was not available for inspection. When I told them that I had it repaired prior to turning it in and would rather buy it than pay 2000.00 dollars they replied that its not an option but would give me credit for the repairs. My question to them was simple. Why could you give me credit for a repair that you claim I did not do. They are not able to answer this and honestly, Ill rely on my dealership statement that the outside company tries to collect as much as they can to validate their existence. I will pledge that Never again. I will never buy or lease a ford again. FYI, I have had a Windstar, Mountaineer, villager, Sable, MKZ, Mustang convertible, Explorer XLT, Explorer sport and Explore XLT again beside the Fusion. Be careful doing business with this company.

My mom bought a 2016 Explorer and the car was sold as new and no accidents.
My mom bought a 2016 Explorer and the car was sold as new and no accidents. Well she washed the car last month and paint chipped off the front fender a big chunk of paint. My mom has had no accidents and keeps the car in the carport. She calls Ford and tries to use the warranty but Ford doesnt call her back for 3 days. She had to call them for them to tell her the car had been in a wreck previous. So she calls another number for corporate and the woman starts out with an attitude and implies she wrecked the car and is trying to get over on FORD. My mom dont have to get over on Ford. She just wants what she paid for when buying a new car. She bought the car in Florida where I was living at the time at BARTOW FORD.The car was damaged during shipping and then was treated like she has to scam Ford to get her car fixed. My mom had the lady of the corporate office on speaker phone and the lady flat out told her it is her job to turn people down and not approve claims cause that cost Ford. Well I am the one that got my mom interested in Ford by me buying an Explorer and then I bought myself a 2015 Lariat and then my mom bought hers and was ripped off. Well my family has spent over a 100 thousand dollars and for the ignorance of that lady to tell us her job is to turn people down from their warranty. Well Im here to tell people not to buy a Ford so people like her cant have a job. If enough people quit buying their product then they have to thin the ignorant people of Ford.Needless to say my mom had to pay out of pocket to get her car fixed and they discovered that there was more damage done than what we was seeing and thanks to whoever covered this up it cost my family money and to be disrespected by a lady behind a desk that dont know ** about my mom and accuse her of trying to scam Ford. I did like your products. This was the first time we owned Ford. My family was always a Chevrolet family. Guess what? We will be getting rid of all of our Fords.

Ford PTO failures with Ford Edge, Flex, 500, and Lincoln MKX - As a manufacturer, I am really disappointed with Ford, and this will likely be my last one after being a Ford supporter for years. I have spent $1,800.00 in maintenance on this vehicle in the last 12 months on replacing the engine fan TWICE and the engine fan wiring harness. Now, another $2,800 for the PTO / PDU / transfer case and power steering rack? Thats $5,000.00 in maintenance in the last 12 months. No thank you, Ill probably trade this in on a Lexus and #lastFORDever. Ford gets zero stars. I have had a case open with Ford corporate, nothing material has been done.

How could they NOT possible return all of these vehicles, smash them and grind them like they did to Christine at the end!? These are death trap cars and are unsafe... Shame on Ford. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Now, I am stuck in this car, hoping and praying that nothing bad happens. All they do is lie after lie and say its normal just so they dont have to fix it under the lemon law. We parked our truck at our apartment complex again with no signs of anything that could have triggered a fire. At 11:30 pm our neighbors had notified us that our truck was on fire. The fire department arrived about 20 minutes into the fire leaving the truck completely nonexistent. The fire department told us the fire had started in the engine. Ive never heard of some kind of recall in these models of trucks, Ford company should be responsible for all these damages.

I bought a 2016 F-150 and absolutely loved it! My issue is not with the truck itself, but with the lack of customer service from the dealer all the way to Ford Credit. I would have Ford do the regular maintenance on the truck and with that regular maintenance came regular frustration. When told that it would be ready at a certain time they never delivered. When you call to ask when it would be ready, no one had an answer. Due to financial situation and wanting to help my parents out, I sold my truck. Not because I wanted to, but because it had to be done. When trying to process the paper work at local Ford deal, they were more worried about eating chips and salsa in the manager’s office instead of getting things finalized and me out the door. After 2 hours they finally had me sign the little amount of paperwork I needed and I was out the door. I was told that the reimbursement check for the over pay would be in my mail in 3-4 weeks. After numerous conversations with Ford Credit CS, and 7 week of waiting, theyve decided to stop payment and reissue the check. Did they offer to expedite it, or send it with a tracking number? No... I loved my truck… It reminded me of the summers I got to spend with my grandfather riding around in his. However, I believe the price you pay for a product should represent the quality of their customer service as well. Ford, your customer service in all departments needs to be improved. You put a high price on your vehicles, your customer service should be better equipped, better trained, and better ready to serve the people that buy your vehicles. Based on my CS experience with Ford, I doubt I will be back to get another one in my future, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

At the beginning of June I was lucky enough to notice that one of my doors was not closing before I left my parking spot. I had the car towed in to a Ford service center and was expecting it to have it fixed within a couple of days. I mean it is just a door latch (which they made out of PLASTIC by the way). After a few days of waiting I find out that they want to hold onto the car until at least September, for some reason they dont have this simple part anywhere in stock. Thats at least 3 MONTHS without a car that I am paying monthly and they are offering some rental car reimbursement for a small compact car which is only about $30 a day and I think the cheapest rental car is $35, nowhere near the value of the car I am leasing from them. If it was only for a week or two then I would have no problem with that. I have called them numerous times in order to work something out, maybe get the same value car rental compared to the one I am leasing, but they dont want to do anything. The customer means NOTHING to this company. You are absolutely 0 to them. As long as they are getting money from you they dont care how you are being inconvenienced.I had the pleasure of speaking to the regional manager of Ford in NY and she was utterly useless. The first time she called she couldnt even locate the car after I gave her the VIN and the dealership where the car is located. The second time she called she basically told me she cant do anything using her resources, another word I heard thrown around while on the phone with them. Its like they work on favors. She made it sound like I should feel privileged that they are even offering me a rental in the first place. She told me that the dealer can use their resources, again this word, and try to get the part faster or something. They are basically making me call everyone for them instead of them solving the issue. Its not my job do that, its theirs. Its the reason why they get paid. In my opinion this person gets paid for no reason and her job should be given to someone else that can actually help the customer. So to review: stuck 3 months without a car I am paying for, Ford is offering a partial reimbursement for a rental, Ford regional manager is useless (she does anything but manage). I will never in my life consider buying/leasing a Ford product again (including Lincoln).

I love my 2017 F350 Super Duty Platinum diesel dually. But there’s a minor flaw in the design of the side view mirrors on current Ford Super Duty trucks. The upper back half of the mirrors are available with a painted or chrome cap & the chrome option is the problem. The cap wraps around the inside upper edge of the mirror casing & the chrome acts like a mirror which reflects anything from whatever angle it’s set at. In my case, the driver’s side chrome cap reflects the white & yellow stripes from the center of the road. The passenger side reflects anything off to the right side of the road like construction barrels, signage on fences, light poles, etc.. These reflections are a distraction to the driver. When these items or paint lines flash in my peripheral vision, they can be a distraction. Or when I take a quick look in my side mirrors to check traffic around me, the flash reflections of other objects off the chrome caps makes it difficult to concentrate on the actual traffic I’m trying to quickly assess. Ford should paint the inside edge of the chrome caps with a flat black paint. I did this with my 2017 F350 Platinum dually & it solved the problem. Now the only movement I see is in the actual mirror itself. I painted only the inside edge of the chrome cap, which is not even noticeable to anyone looking at the truck from outside. This would be a very simple fix for Ford to do with the chrome mirror caps.

2012 Ford Edge. Electrical issues. Gas gauge sometimes works; ditto engine warning, over heating light, sun roof, transmission, brakes. Bought new 43,000. Gas gauge and engine warning I complained about to Heller then Perry while under warranty. Never seemed to find anything wrong (remember this). At 95k had 100k service done at Perry. Then tranny fails. Extended warranty (hassle) covered that. They didnt check cooling system, car warning light came on 50 miles from Las Vegas 114 degrees out. Went to Miller Ford in Provo UT. Just a radiator cap, two days and $600. Back to Perry, nothing wrong. Then turn indicator chimes come on, fan goes on automatically, cant turn off, then brakes fail. Send it to Heller now that it is out of warranty. Gee, gas tank sender unit is out (remember couldnt find anything wrong) 1000.00, fan motor bad 700.00, then in three days they cant find what is wrong with brakes - still waiting. Called Ford, they only go on word of dealers. I asked for a Ford field engineer (Ford first call said to ask for one). Ford field rep blew me off. So I have a 43k piece of crap that is unsafe and Ford blows me off. Any attorneys out there doing class action?

I purchased a 2012 Ford Certified Pre-Owned Focus in August of 2015. The car had just over 22,000 miles. It was in exceptionally good condition and appeared to be well cared for. I was very reluctant to buy a Ford product because I had a terrible experience with Ford 15+ years ago. I planned to purchase a Chevy Cruze when a friend told me to reconsider Ford and look at a Focus. I visited a Ford dealer and compared the Focus to the Cruze. They were pretty comparable across the board. My daughter pushed for the Focus. We drove a Focus and talked to a couple different dealers quite a bit. I remained skeptical. The dealer convinced us to buy a Certified Focus because it came with an extended the bumper to bumper warranty for 12 months/12,0000 miles and a powertrain warranty extension to 7 years/100,000 miles. The warranty convinced me to give Ford a second chance. My daughter really likes her car and has no real complaints so far.Last week, the car came due for the first oil change. I told her to take it to the Ford Dealer and also let them know that the transmission was not shifting correctly as well as the vents in the rear deck were disintegrating. If you touch them and they literally turn to dust. The dealer told her that the transmission was part of a recall and that she would need to make an appointment to have it reprogrammed. The rear deck was not covered under warranty. I called the dealer back and spoke to the service dept letting them know the car is Ford Certified and that it should be covered under the extended bumper to bumper coverage. The service writer told me that the 12 Month/12,000 mile warranty expires on 8/8/2016, however, Ford CPO is a limited warranty that covers selected parts. They also clarified that Ford CPO does NOT extend the bumper to bumper warranty. It is a limited warranty. There is a specific list of items that are covered. The Ford warranty also has a $100 deductible. That was news to me. I had purchased vehicles certified by other manufacturers and never had a deductible or been told that the bumper to bumper portion has a limited list of repairs. The Ford sales people made it sound the same as other CPO programs.I decided to call Ford Motor Company to verify what I was told. Prior to calling I did some research into the issues we reported with our Focus. Apparently both issues are known problems with Focus sedans. Ford issued a Technical Service Bulletin documenting the rear deck problem and provided instructions for dealers how to perform the repair. The transmission was recalled as we were told. Seems pretty straight forward so far.I called Ford and spoke to Amanda. I told her about the Ford Focus Owners website where there are many complaints about the rear deck dissolving into powder and provided the TSB number that documents the problem. Amanda kept informing me that she was not aware of the issue and kept trying to refer me back to the dealer. I went round and round with her. She seemed quick with the phrases: I am not aware of the issue, I do not have access to that information, I am not able to diagnose the problem over the phone. She was clearly trying to get me off the phone. I was not asking her for a diagnosis. I informed her that a Ford dealer already did the diagnosis. I told her I wanted to know if the warranty covers replacement of the failed parts. The car at this point had 28,000 miles and should not be dissolving into dust. She said that she had conflicting information about coverage. One document said the repair should be covered, the other said it was not. She said she would call me back after doing some research. I never received a callback.I waited a few days and contacted Ford Motor Company again. I spoke to Nick this time. Nick said that there was no record of my previous call. I was not surprised. I had to start over and tell him the whole story. I went round and round again. It was nearly a repeat conversation. Nick like Amanda insisted that he could not diagnose the car over the phone. I was starting to get angry because I clearly was NOT asking for a diagnosis. I asked again and again if the part identified in the TSB failed, does the Ford CPO warranty cover the repair? Seemed pretty clear to me, but he kept trying to make the issue about the diagnosis and again kept repeating that he could not diagnose the issue over the phone and that I needed to go to a Ford dealer. I bet he said I dont have access to that information or some variant of it at least 10+ times. We continued to go round and round. Finally I decided to go in a different direction and ask what parts of the rear deck are covered by Ford CPO. Progress at last. The answer was there are 2 part numbers. One was covered, one was not. The part that is known to fail, is documented as failing repeatedly by Ford, and has a Ford TSB issued for the repair IS NOT COVERED by warranty. The other part number that doesnt have any issues is covered by the warranty. If you are considering a Ford CPO used car, do your homework. Fords warranty is NOT like other CPO programs on the market. Ford limits what they cover and also requires you to pay a deductible. They do a good job with marketing to create the impression that their program is valuable. Dont be fooled! I should have verified Ford CPO against the GM CPO on the Chevy Cruise. It was my own fault for trusting them and not reading before we purchased the Focus. My 19 year old daughter now understands why I was so reluctant to buy Ford. The way Ford representatives handled my call both times was extremely frustrating. I will avoid the Ford CPO program in the future and suggest any reader do the same. We tried 3 times through the dealership and twice with Ford. We received the message and wanted to share it with people.

Purchased a Ford Transit 2020 from this place. I submitted my review for Ford.com but they did not publish it because it was a one star. Two main reasons for one star: They sold me a car without passenger seat. I thought I can install a seat. When I went to pick up the car, they told me it doesn’t have any passenger airbags. Factory removed them! If they have told me I would never buy this car. It is not safe to operate. It took them one 8 days to finish the paper work for my car, and they only did it because I keep following up with them.I purchase that car remotely, by phone. We agreed on a price that was 300$ less than MSRP. They called me after a while saying that somebody else is willing to buy the car for the whole MSRP price and I need to pay the full price if I want it. Who changes his word for 300$, one a 50+K$ car? They removed a 1$ Funnel in the car to fill it from a canister. In my way home, I ran out of gas. I went to a gas station and filled a canister and came back then I couldn’t find the funnel to fill the tank and had to wait a long time for road side assistant. The passenger door on my brand new 2020 car rattled sometime and you have to open and close it several times to fix this. Need to the new car to the dealership. The MPG is way lower than what advertised.

First Ford Truck and within 5k miles, check engine light comes on. It goes on and off, cant be reproduced and now at 20k miles, it has been in the shop for 3+ weeks 2 different times waiting to be fixed. The first time, dealer could not reproduce the problem after 3 weeks and within 2 days of me getting it back, the light came back on. Now, it has been at a different dealer for 2 + weeks and while they diagnosed it, they have too many vehicles in front of mine to look at it sooner than another 1.5 weeks. No loaners available. Have to leave it at the dealer or I lose my place in line. Terrible customer service. Big let down - will be looking to trade this FORD Junk in for a different brand once they ever get it fixed.UPDATE ON 09/26/2018: Overall, when I purchase a new vehicle for 36+k, I do not expect it to have engine problems. After leaving the truck at the Ford Dealer for 4+ weeks, it was finally completed. I spent a fair amount of time explaining to their Service Manager all of the hassles I have had with this brand new truck. The dealers Ford Rep agreed to offer a Premium Extended Warranty to restore some good will. Having Ford offer a Premium Extended Warranty for the “hassle” is not really going above and beyond to help customers. It is expected at the very least. After calling into Ford Customer Service and getting someone that basically reads from a ‘script’ and does not really care about the customer, my confidence in Ford’s customer service is completely gone. In addition, there is hardly any management of dealers and how they provide customer service on new Ford vehicles. Not impressed. In fact, while this was going on with my Ford Truck, my Chevy Traverse Check Engine light came on. I took it to the Chevy Dealer we normally go to and the customer service was stellar, it was night and day difference between the Ford Dealer. I get each Dealer needs to determine how they go to market and serve their customers, but, Ford does not seem to care as long as people buy their vehicle.

Let this be a lesson to any prospective buyers, DO NOT BUY FORD. This has been the biggest piece of junk that I have ever had the displeasure of driving. Bought it used in late 2015, still had the original warranty on it thank God! Within one week of purchase, the transmission had to have nineteen (19) parts replaced. There have been numerous check engine lights and warning lights since this. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor, front passenger side lower control arm went out after a little over 60,000 miles ($400 and up fix if you get it from Ford/3rd Party). Now the Sync system has completely failed. No audio from voice activation, SiriusXM, CD player, MP3, Phone or AUX. Nothing has worked. Pulled the battery, disconnected at the neutral connection to the frame. Pulled the fuse and still nothing. Learned there was an extension for the APIM module, that should fix this problem, but it expired in 2015! Ford is completely ridiculous and they will never get another penny from me. As soon as possible this P.O.S. is getting traded and I plan on never even looking at Ford again as a reputable manufacturer. I hope that this will give some of you an idea of what to look forward to should you purchase one or if you own one, what is to come. Run away, fast!

I purchased a truck at the Ford dealership in Baton Rouge a 2012. And this vehicle along with newer models dont come with fuel caps. I have contacted the parts department about getting a fuel plug because someone could easily put something in the tank and ruin the engine. He rudely said, Well I think the person who put the stuff in the fuel tank is responsible not Ford. Well I think if you buy a 20,000 dollar or more vehicle from Ford you should at least be able to get a gas cap. I wont be buying another vehicle like this and I will let the thousand of people I work with know how Ford is too cheap to put a fuel cap on its trucks and they want everybody who buys a truck to buy their own cap. Something needs to be done about this. I will not purchase a fuel cap from Ford. It should have came with the truck. If something happens to my truck I will get an attorney and take this up the manufacturer. This is asinine. You spend thousands of your hard earned money with this people and they cant give you a gas cap. I bet Chevy has gas caps on their trucks. Somebody needs to send me a fuel cap for this truck. I am pissed these trucks have no fuel cap or Ford does not provide one. I will make sure I tell everyone I see about this. Hopefully Ford will start putting on caps when they lose enough sales. I own two Ford vehicles, a F350 Ford diesel King ranch 2016 and a 2018 Ford explorer Platinum two of Fords top of the line vehicles. The Ford explorer third row electric seat began having issues within the warranty period at 21k miles and within 1 month of the vehicle warranty expiration. Just a couple of weeks after the expiration of the 36th month warranty but well within the 36k mile warranty (25k miles on The vehicle) third row seat would no longer operate (only having been used a few times). One of the main reasons we purchased the vehicle was for the third row seat for our grandchildren. After several trips to two different dealerships it was determined that the wire harness would need to be replaced and in order to do that apparently much of the vehicle needs to be disassembled. A very significant effort and expense to repair. I felt surely Ford would stand behind me and rectified what was clearly a defective mechanism. After several months of back and forth and Ford stringing me along ultimately they would not provide ANY assistance. Worse multiple requests for them to provide that decision in writing were simply ignored. I have never been so appalled at a major corporations lack of professionalism in handling a customer service issue. My experience with them has left me realizing that FORD is a two-bit company not interested in customer service or standing behind their product. FORD NEVER AGAIN.

After owning my 2015 Ford Fiesta for two years I got in my car and when I went to shut the door the entire plastic handle broke right off. They would have to replace the whole door for $498 without any labor. No kids, well kept etc. This piece is such junk, will never buy another Ford if this is how they design them.

After my Ford Expedition caught fire in the parking lots while sitting overnight, I took it to the dealership under a recall I found out about when I called them. They have had my car 3 days and they just called to tell me they did the 2 recalls but nothing is working that was damaged by the fire (brake lights, turn signals, hazard lights) and that would be my responsibility!

For the past few months I have had my 2006 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 Triton V8 3 valve in and out of the shop trying to rectify a rough engine idle when stopping. First I was told that it had to do with a clogged fuel filter which was changed at a charge of $214.00 but I still had the same problem. Next, I was told that the air filter intake hose was clogged with leaves which was another charge of $180.00. Well, the rough idle persisted. So, at 88,000 miles I decided to let my mechanic do a tuneup which I was told would be around $450 thats if he didnt break any spark plugs.Well, day one I get a call and 3 spark plugs had broken off in the head. The next day I get a call and my mechanic was able to remove 2 of the broken off pieces but he couldnt get the third out. Day three I get a call and my mechanic explains to me that he tried to drill out the center of the stem and thread it so he could try and back it out. He got it to turn 4 times before it completely shredded and the piece fell into the #8 cylinder. So, he had to take off the head to get into the #8 cylinder to clean and remove all debris which he told me usually takes 21 hours. So, a week later I get a call from my mechanic to tell me that my truck is finally ready. Yep, it was ready all right at a cost of $3900... quite a shock considering this all started out at around $450. Of course, I was pretty mad and my mechanic did take $600 off of the bill. But, he has lost my business and the Better Business Bureau will get a complaint on behalf of this fiasco. Ford has known about this problem for quite awhile now and from what I have learned may have rectified the problem by replacing the spark plugs of later models with a one piece plug instead of a 2 piece plug that when affected by carbon build up seizes in the cylinder. Now, Ford states that the 5.4 Triton shouldnt have to have a tuneup until 100G miles. Yah, right!!! This is the second Ford product I have owned that has taken a good bit of my hard earned money. First was a failed transmission on a Mercury Villager that had only 62G on it. That fiasco cost me $2800. Now this total Charley Fox!!! Ford you have lost my business and will never get another dime out of me and yes I will be telling all of my friends to stay clear of Ford products.I currently own 2 Toyota vehicles. One a 2006 Toyota Camry that has 120G miles on it and the only thing I have done to that car in 5 years is replace tires and regular oil changes. The second is a 1989 Toyota extended cab 4x4 pickup truck that has 178G on it and I have had to replace the starter, the radiator, the power steering pump and the alternator, which I repaired all on my own at a minimal cost. The engine is still as strong as it was when I bought the truck in 1990. Now, if that doesnt speak quality and reliability then Im speechless. Guess who will be selling their F-150 and buying a Toyota Tundra. Ford get your act together!!! We are done!!

Due to past help with constructing the PeaceNet a small International Netwo
Due to past help with constructing the PeaceNet a small International Network; that ultimately turned into the Internet, I can do things most people cannot. The e-mail explains the problems I am having with a Ford Escape. It is a new car with less than a thousand miles on it that is viewed as a deathtrap. Even more problems have come up by research that make the situation even worse. Every time the word Ford comes down the Internet, I am sent the e-mail address. Other words in the e-mail such as purchase can be used to define the list. I have amassed the e-mails of thousands of people that are considering purchasing something from Ford. The Ford resolution department has tried to solve the problem by giving me the X-Plan pricing. The problem is that I would purchase a Ford Edge which is a much safer car and I can get my wife and family to ride in. I have not been able to make a deal on an Edge even though I have the reduced pricing on the Edge because I cannot get the zero percent 72 month financing like I have on the Escape. I am 75 years old, my wife and I live on Social Security and have a house that has expenses plus living expenses that happen even though the house is paid for. I have a credit rating of 815. I live as economically as possible; no extra anything and never go to restaurants or any kind of entertainment. However, a large car payment does not fit into the budget. 72 month or 84 month would be ideal. I have had the Escape repaired at the finest body shop around and carries a lifetime guarantee on the work. Everybody at Ford Resolution is telling me I have to go to Ford Finance for the longer terms. I am going to lose money on the trade in even though it has only three digit miles on it. I have tried to get Ford to take the car back and they will not. Their resolution is that they give me a low price on the purchase, but the dealers will not give me the same finance arrangement. So I am appealing to Ford Finance. There are dealers in the far North area of Chicago that have longer Zero percent financing. I dont know if they use Ford Financing or not. Purchasing a car at a dealer 80 miles away makes no sense. If I cannot make a deal at a price and financing, then I must do my e-mail campaign. I am ready to send thousands of e-mails everyday to people around the world telling them the five points that I have found, as an Engineer by trade, that makes this car dangerous and risky to drive. I go into great detail about this. I have nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I would not let one of them ride in the rear area of this Ford Escape. The way that glass rear window just exploded after the accident is real scary. Glass came up into the front area like it was a bullet. It is my duty as a responsible citizen to do this.

Bought a brand new 2016 250 Ford Transit 250 van at 12000 miles. Had a howling noise when backing up. Told me my bearings in the rear end were shot. Rebuilt the rear end to no avail. Now at 35000 miles my back brakes are completely wore out. Had big old tires. Tell me its as if Ive been driving with my e brake on. Took it to ford. They cover their ass and tell me its wear and tear and that theyre finding out with these vehicles the back brakes are wearing out quick. Oh did I mention my front brakes are like brand new. Bottom line this vehicle is a PIECE OF **.

Now I was told that they are selling my vehicle at a private sale if I do not send in the balance plus repossession fee which I have already done. It was delivered at 8:57am on 10/09/12 and as of now it has not been posted to my account. I have sent the money both times and Ford has faltered on their end by not posting the payments in a timely manner. They have moved the vehicle from 100 miles to 200 miles away. Now I have to get someone to go with so that I can get my vehicle if Ford decided to post the payment. Do not worry that there will most likely be another post if I ended up losing my vehicle because of the way Ford does business. I would never recommend Ford or Ford Credit to even my worst enemy, much less a friend.

I just purchased a Thor RV with a Ford chassis. When I took it to a Ford dealer for repairs, I was told Ford built the 2021 F450 chassis to sell, but didn’t manufacture any parts. Therefore, it could be 6 months or very possibly longer before repairs can be done. The RV is not drivable and I live in it. Fords answer is to leave it on their lot until parts are made, no concern for the fact that I’m homeless in the meantime. It’s been four weeks now and I can’t find one person at Ford that cares! I would never recommend buying A new Ford.

My husband and I went to a dealership 3 years and 1 month ago and paid $30,000 we didnt have to buy a truck for him to get to and from work in. He drives a lot for work, so we needed something tough and reliable. He takes good care of his things and always changes the oil and keeps up on regular maintenance. We have to take the truck now to get emissions done so that we can renew the tags, but cant do that because its got about 6 big issues and we will have to pay $4000.00 to get it fixed. We cant trade it in, because they dont want the piece of crap either and we cant afford more payments to start over. His last truck was a salvage title pos, but it ran without too many issues for 8 years and we only paid $2400 for it. I dont know what were going to do, but we will never buy another Ford.

I took my truck to Sheehy Ford for a engine issue. Basically the truck would shut off while driving down the road. The dealer said we should replace the head studs, head gaskets, injector seals, fuel seals, oil passage seals. I was okay with all of that costing estimated $7000 and about 26 labor hours. That was 4+ months ago. They have had my truck for 4+ months. They replaced my radiator, why??? I dont know and the service manager doesnt know either. But Im sure Im getting billed for that somehow. Face to face I asked the service manager why they replaced my radiator. He said I dont know. I went to the shop to get some camping stuff out of my truck and was there for about 25-30 minutes. There were 6 vehicles in the shop and not one technician in there working. At one point a tech walked in the back door and grabbed an oil pan and brought it over to a van but dropped it and walked up to the front. I dont trust what they are doing mechanically to my truck. They in theory replaced my high pressure oil pump, but once it was all back together they had zero oil pressure. Did they replace it??? Well even the old oil pump was giving some oil pressure. I cant get a response from the service manager anymore and I had to call Ford motor company. So far Tina has done a good job corresponding between me and the dealer but Im not getting anywhere. Again 4+ months and over $4000 in rental car bills. I have yet to get my truck back and am still making payments and insurance on a truck I can not use. I wouldnt trust them to change my head light.

I own a 2010 Ford Flex Limited. It has the EPAS steering system that has failed just like the 2011s that has the same part and has an active recall campaign to replace it. When I contacted the dealership, they pulled the part number up and confirmed the recall but, not on the 2010. The dealership then contacted Ford Corporate for financial assistance. Corporate asked the dealer for the parts and labor replacement estimate just to deny fixing my car. I paid $3600 for the Premium Service package that is contracted in my payments each month. I cant get that money back. Fletcher Ford in MO said that my Ford has never had my Premium service done. Ford complaint center said it has. Fletcher Ford service center said that my rotors were ground down so bad that I need new rotors. Ford Complaint center claims that they were never touched by any service according to my service records. Ford tried to say that I ride the brakes too hard and that is why they are ground down so much. I had another Ford truck that I put over 400,000 miles on and never had to change the rotors. I dont ride on my brakes. I believe that there was some dishonesty along the way.Ford has always serviced my Ford truck and they kept up the brakes. My brakes are right now 70% to the good so why would anyone grind down my rotors? The only thing I can think of, is so that I would get Ford service to replace them and thats how they make more money on your vehicle along the way. Well lets start off by saying you go to the dealer and you are interested in buying a new truck that you can plow with. So you get a price of $67,988 and youre like Damn thats a lot of cash. Then you make sure it has all the options that are needed for your likings. Loaded out, Lariat plow package and all the goodies. So you break the bank and go thru with the purchase and get it home. Get the new Boss plow set up all done and go out for the first plow of the season in November and you get a clicking relay in the dash. Well come to find out after plowing for a little bit it seems to get worse. Then all of a sudden your radio and heater goes off for a few seconds. Then it does it again five more time. Then the whole dash and electrical system goes down for approx. 2 minutes. So the following day I start calling Ford and dont get anywhere other than take it to the dealer. So I do that and they tell me there is nothing wrong. So this has been going on since Nov 25th. Well Ive had it at the dealer 5 times and then I find out that Ford is producing truck that states you have a plow prep package on them and you cant plow with them without getting a power spiking issue which causes the BCM to shut all the required electronics to shut down. So my bitch is how can Ford knowingly sell a truck as a plow truck and have all these problems. And after contacting Ford customer relations Im not any farther than I was in November. Ford has known about this problem since the 2014 model and still will not take any responsibility for fixing these problems. My advice is to check out the options on the vehicle and make sure there isnt and hidden notices where something cant be used properly. This a safety recall if I have ever seen one.

STAY AWAY FROM ALL FORDS AND BUT ESPECIALLY THIS DEALERSHIP. My daughter purchased a 2015 C-Max from a dealer in RVA. With less than 7K miles on that vehicle, something from the road (according to Wynne Service), popped up and caused a screen cover to fall off the vehicle (which tells me something about the quality of a Ford). With an opportunity to take care of a Ford Customer, and a 30K vehicle, Wynne Ford, its Service Dept, management and CEO decided NOT to take care of the customer. After receiving a call at 8 am from service mgr., my daughter was told that the part was covered under warranty. 4 hours later, the same guy called back and said that it would not be covered due to normal wear and tear. We were later told by a member of Sr Management that Service Mgr did not verify tech assessment, and that the tech was not qualified (RED FLAG)!! Sr Mgr continued to stand by not covered, however offered to sell part at employee discount and no labor ($148). I explained that the dealership should be making that right due to all of the customer service nightmare that my daughter had been through, so she said she would speak to the CEO of Dealership to see if he would cover it... He refused!!! And my daughter is a supposed VIP Customer...whatever that means for Ford!!! We also filed a complaint with FORD ConsumerAffairs, and again got nowhere. They could have cared less about taking care of their customers. SO FORD, you have lost 3 customers who are in their early 20s. No chance at ever regaining their business! Nice work! So, he could have kept 3 FORD customers for a mere $150, but instead, my daughter, and 2 other family members, will be trading in their 2015 FORD vehicles, purchased in August, for another Car and rest assured it will not be a FORD product!! Moral of the story is.... the expectation of Customer service is non-existent in this Dealership, or with FORD in general... Bottom line: Chick-Fil-A gives me Customer Service 100 times better when I order a $4 kids meal! Nice Job Wynne. Way to look out for your brand. NOT!!

38 days ago my new 2015 Ford F150 broke down with 8000 miles on it. A part in the transmission is defective. It has now been 38 days and I still do not have an ETA on the repair of this vehicle. Parts are not available for this truck. Ford has been completely uncooperative and unsupportive. While a rental car has been provided, they expect me to pay the difference between what they pay and the baseline price of the lowest level rental provided by the rental company. At this point they state that they will ship an entirely new transmission, however they have no ETA on this and it could be up to two more weeks until this is resolved. When I escalated this to Ford customer service the only resolution is to keep waiting. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I will be escalating this to legal means.

I will definitely add images of my Ford F150 truck explosions and how quick
I will definitely add images of my Ford F150 truck explosions and how quickly the truck burned up our home. My favorite Ford F150 4X4 $45,000.00 Lariat SuperCrew truck (which I usually park inside my home/garage) burned and exploded several times, burning down my home (especially half the home/roof). Flames and black smoke filled the home entirely. Ford advertised for years their Ford trucks are built Ford tough. My stepbrother, a 20-plus years New York police officer, worked many overtime hours at and around ground zero (after 9/11) and I decided to buy American, put money back into building the American economy after 9/11, help Americans keep their jobs in the car manufacturing business, etc. So I purchased a new 2001-2001 Ford F150 4x4 SuperCrew Lariat truck with the best intentions based on supporting the American economy after 9/11 and based on Fords advertisement for many years that Ford trucks are built Ford tough.Nevertheless, I found out at 12:30 am, August 10, 2006, after discovering my truck burning and exploding with flames shooting from the hood and quickly engulfing the truck, flames spreading and quickly covering my home, etc. Then years later, after being lied to and lied on repeatedly day after day, month after month, year after year, 5-6 years down the horrible road of complete fall out after a fire disaster and our lives have been completely disrupted, torn apart, traumatized so severely my health, family and a good decent spacious home, nicely furnished, great property and everything else has been ripped away and destroyed to a point of no return as a direct result of the horrible mistreatment, we were received by Ford Motor Co. and their investigators and representatives. We were told 5-6 years after the fire that Ford has had this problem since early 1990s and have allowed people to purchase their vehicles without sending customers recall notices; thus, many families and children have died in Ford fires and have had serious health issues that often lead to death as a result of the significant stress from dealing with the mistreatment by Ford and their affiliates, etc. See also Fire Under the Hood,” which discussed how a four-year-old beautiful soul, Blake Washington, died after the familys Ford Expedition spontaneously burned up in their garage. The family suffered for years after being mistreated, ignored, and disrespected so horribly. Blakes mom died 4-5 years later (around February 2009) from a broken heart, auto-immune system failure and many stress-related health issues spiraling from her losses. Around 2009-2011, I read an article written by Blakes mom and dad, Tanika and Juan Washington (a military family). They wrote a detailed article about how bad Ford and Texas Instruments treated them after their Ford Expeditions defect caused a fire and burned their home and daughter. When will the President, U.S. Congress, and responsible officials help all of us who have had our lives ruined and experienced significant losses as a direct result of Ford Motor Co., Texas Instrument, and DuPonts pure negligence and criminal responsibility of making defective products costing billions of dollars that they know cause significant loss of life, liberty, privacy, property and that has systematically destroyed the entire lives of many families? We need responsible officials to help, such as the, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. President, Congress, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Brenan Center for Justice and MoveOn.org, Change.Org and every human rights and U.S. Constitutional rights organizations and attorneys who are not afraid to step up and help make the lives better of millions of Americans citizens and millions of U.S. military families who have suffered profusely. As long as Ford Motor Co., Texas Instruments, DuPont, and all the Ford dealerships can get away with making billions in profits knowingly selling defective products that cause loss of life, health, property, etc., these companies will continue to do so without any mercy whatsoever on the American public. A little injustice anywhere leads to a whole lot of injustice everywhere. And when good people know that evil exist and fail to take action to stop it, then they too are just as evil as those committing evil act. This is nothing less than homegrown domestic terrorism: to purchase a truck thats like a ticking time bomb. You never know when it’ll explode. We learned 5 years after the fire by an expert in our case that when the gears start sticking in park or drive and you have to wiggle the gear handle to change gears, thats a sign that the vehicle is in trouble. Its a very, very small minor technicality that people dont even think twice about when they may have a little trouble changing gears from park to reverse or drive and most people are rushing off to get to work, home, etc., and never even suspecting this is a small signal to a major product defect. Ford would rather wait you out with their highly paid attorneys than pay middle class or working poor people any significant compensation to get your life back on track and make you whole after their trucks caused disaster.

In 2005 my husband I purchased a 2000 Ford Windstar with 95,000 miles on it. Keep good upkeep on it. Blew a head gasket, as did two friends who owned Windstars. Owned a 1989 Areostar, motor blew. Bought 1999 Aerostar, lots of issues. Bought a 2005 Ford Taurus this past Nov. Rear suspension problems, left rear body was rubbing the tire. Had the struts replaced on both rear, but the left is still rubbing the tire on even small bumps so, I guess we will be replacing the springs. Any time I slow down on the highway, I cant get back to speed fast all all. It bogs down. If I press more on the gas it chugs like it going to die. Have to gradually pick up speed then I feel it kick in and go, then its fine til I have to slow down again. In town it sputters and chugs, surges. I bought this car thinking it would be safer than the 99 Aerostar...but I am scared in both vehicles now. Throwing money into them left and right. I know old cars are gonna have problems but this is unreal. I am still paying the 05 Taurus off. I keep saying each time we go get a new vehicle, I am not ever buying another Ford, I want a Chevy. But it is hard to find lower priced Chevys used because people seem to keep them forever. Fords are everywhere, so I keep buying other peoples headaches. Now I must replace all the springs on the 05, in fear of killing my grandson that is only 4 years old. I have finally established credit with my bank on this one and as soon as its paid off, Im getting a loan for a Chevy that I know I can trust and getting rid of this headache. Never a Ford again! Its pretty sad that I have a 96 Old Cutlass that I hit a big pregnant black angus at night at 65 miles per hour and still runs and drives better than any of the others.

I have a 2018 F-150 with a 3.0L diesel. I bought it new and it now has 15000 miles on it. In the past 7 months I have had an issue with it losing engine oil pressure. The dealership has put 2 new oil sensors in it and the problem still exists. I have taken it back in to have the issue resolved. Ford Motor told the dealership that its an oil pump issue. That was a week and a half ago. I left the truck and Ford was suppose to overnight a new oil pump. The part took a week to get to the dealer, and then it was the wrong part! So Im still waiting with no end in sight. Ford only cares about selling vehicles. Customer care is not important them.

Current owner of 2 Ford vehicles. I have a 2019 Ford F150 and a 2016 Ford Edge. Both vehicles have ran awesome for the last several years we have had them. We have loved them since the day we got them. Well, 1 Day after Powertrain warranty expires on the Edge, the check engine light comes on. Odd, but we figure we better get it checked out ASAP. Take it into the shop the following day as that is when they could get us in. Codes P0303 and P0316 pop up for a cylinder 3 misfire. Turns out vehicle needs a TSB 19-2346 performed. For those of you that dont know, that is a whole Long block replacement (Needs a new motor because cylinder 3 burning up coolant). I am frustrated to say the least that ford will not take ownership of the issue, even though they have came out with a full service bulletin for this issue. Keep in mind the vehicle has a perfect service record and only 45,000 miles on it which is well below average. So now I am sitting here with a broke down car that Ford wants me to pay $6,200 to put a new motor in. This issue has got me thinking about switching completely to another brand because their customer service on this event has been horrible and no understanding from them. Just them telling me I am out of luck.

My overall experience with my Mercury Mariner is really good. I havent had any problems with it and I bought it used one year ago. Its a 2006 and I love it. Its dependable and its easy to drive. I like all the features it comes with too! I like the sunroof, the radio/cd player and it allows you to place several CDs in it at one time. It has automatic windows and theyre tinted which is also a plus. I also like that it has good working air conditioning and the heat works good as well. The front seats have a button to heat them which is very nice to have on extra cold days. I would like it to have a GPS system but it doesnt. I could always add one but other than that, I dont have anything that I dislike about it. I would like it if the window tint was a little bit darker but I can always get that done.
