Nissan and Infiniti tease electric vehicles due in 2025
Posted On: February 17, 2022
Nissan and Infiniti on Thursday teased new EVs to be built at Nissan's Canton, Mississippi, factory beginning in 2025. It's possible the duo will include a Nissan EV and a luxury Infiniti sibling model. Infiniti has teased the possibility of an electric model as far back as 2012, but hasn't launched one yet. The teaser photos show what appear to be sedans, though they could be coupe-like crossovers. Nissan said it will invest $500 million to upgrade the Canton assembly plant for EV production. The automaker said the pivot to EVs will retain or "up-skill" nearly 2,000 jobs at the Canton plant, which currently employs about 5,000 people and builds the Altima, Frontier, and Titan. Infiniti EV teaser Canton will be Nissan's second U.S. EV assembly plant. Leaf hatchbacks for the U.S. market are currently built in Smyrna, Tennessee. The Leaf is expected to stick around for the time being. The next Nissan EV due in the U.S. is the 2023 Ariya crossover, which is scheduled to launch this fall. Nissan hasn't said where U.S.-market Ariya models will be built, however. It's also unclear what models will immediately follow the Ariya, although Nissan claims to have several in the pipeline. It showed three concepts late last year, and has also hinted at plans for solid-state batteries to lower costs. Nissan wants EVs to make up 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030, with even more sales from hybrids and plug-in hybrids. The automaker plans to launch 23 electrified models (including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and all-electric vehicles) for both the Nissan and Infiniti brands globally by 2030 as well, including 15 all-electric models.

This is the best car brand for me and my family and I really like the radio system that came with it. The heat works great and the sound system is amazing also. The car drives good enough and any vehicle that runs works for me.

We purchased our family dream car and recently noticed an issue. Online I read the likeliness of the CVT transmission being the issue that many customers are experiencing so we took it to our local dealer expecting the recall. The recall covers several years worth of Nissan car makes and models, but did not include ours. At 88,000 miles we were told the entire transmission needed to be replaced, with a cooler for the transmission too. The grand total quote of nearly $5500. We only owe $4000 on the car. A hard working family of 4 now has a family dream car that they cannot afford to fix. I read online calling consumer affairs would be a joke, it was. I called and waited the 24 hours for Nissan Consumer Affairs to tell me that there was nothing they could do.What this customer heard, my family hears, what everyone I know will hear is that Nissan does not stand by their cars. Nissan does not care about my family. Only 88,000 miles and we have a dead car, along with a sorry theres nothing we can do. Obviously there is a problem with the CVT transmission that needs to extend to the 2011 models too, Nissan. Very disappointed.

2013 Nissan Sentra SV with transmission issues. Took it to the Premier Nissan of San Jose and was told they could not find the issue. Test drove with the mechanic. Next day they say they cant reproduce the issue. Went back again and went on a test drive. Next day again they say they cant find the issue.I went back and this time another mechanic went on a drive with me and brought the computer to record data. He said that the car will need to stay there. This was already a week in the shop and they did not provide a loaner.Extremely poor customer service. The service advisors are a bunch of liars. They dont even call me back with a status update. I had to call them multiple times to find out. They changed their statement 3 times about me getting a loaner. 2 weeks in now and I am still without a car. Stay away from this dealership and stay away from Nissan. ABSOLUTELY MY LAST NISSAN EVER EVEN IF THEY GIVE ME A 50% discount.

We purchased a new 2015 Nissan Rogue with a CVT transmission, we also paid for an extended warranty. We have since put 91,000 highway miles on the vehicle. The transmission began to stutter and lightly slip at random intervals. I DROVE it to an authorized dealer (Antwerpen Nissan here in Owings Mills, MD). They told us that after ($149) diagnosis, it needed a valve body and cooling assembly. We were then informed that it needed a new Catalytic converter as well. They stated that our extended warranty expired at 60,000 miles, but Nissan would cover 60% of the transmission work. After replacing the parts, the vehicle was still doing the same thing and now would not shift out of 1st gear. We were informed that we were now responsible for an additional $1377.00 for another transmission part. Remember that I drove the vehicle there, with NO issues of shifting our of 1st gear. Bill at this point would now be around $3700.00. They have now replaced the additional part (I was not told what the mysterious part is) and again the vehicle will still not shift out of 1st gear and still slips. I have now been told that they will have to try and figure out what to do next, however it will of course be an additional charge. They have had the Rogue for 2 weeks now, they DID provide a courtesy car after 4 days. I have cited multiple online recalls for 2012 to 2018 Nissan Rogue with the CVT transmission, as well as lawsuits I have found about them. I was told that my vehicle is not listed by the Highway administration as being part of any recall or bulletin. BEWARE. We are adult drivers who are not rough on our vehicles. We are without our vehicle, currently sitting at a huge bill, a broken vehicle that has only gotten worse from the work that was done, and still waiting to hear how much MORE we will have to pay to get our Rogue back.

The Nissan van I have purchased is having problems with its digital dash board (distance, gas, hot/cold readout). I live in Washington, D.C. My vehicle will not pass inspection if they cannot see the mileage on my vehicle. Through discussing this problem with the vehicle inspectors in Washington, D.C. area, they have informed me that most Nissan made cars are experiencing this similar problem. I have also found other Nissan owners who are experiencing the same problems. I feel as though, since this is an important issue and it seems to be a common issue, that Nissan should fix this problem with either no or minimal charge.

Consider this. I have a 2011 Rogue and found out the CVT needs replacing. Since Nissan has created a monopoly around their CVT you cannot find parts to rebuild as you cannot buy them. The only way is to replace the entire CVT which you must purchase from Nissan. Ever wonder how they extended the warranty for 2008-2010 only but did the extension in 2014? They knew that the 2011, 2012, 2013 would all have the same problems. Maybe not enough complaints at that time for those years. So I checked the warranty on the brand new replacement CVT direct from Nissan and installed by Nissan... 12 months/20000kms. Although the exact same CVT on a brand new 2017 comes with 5years/60000km warranty. Read between the lines... Nissan cannot even back their own monopoly on CVT with a decent warranty. What a crock of **. Bye bye Nissan FOREVER. The GM of the dealership wont even return my call, probably because he has no excuses for the crap product the CVT is. Someone start a class action and take Nissan and their CRAP CVT down.

In October of 2012 I bought a brand new 2013 Nissan Versa. Great little car with excellent gas mileage. Within a month I heard a very loud rattling noise coming from underneath. I called the Nissan Service Dept and was told Oh yeah, thats the heat shield. There is a defect in it, just bring it in and we will fix it. I took it in and Nissan replaced it - no problem. 3 months later the same thing happened so I took it in again. About 8 months later it happened again. Now I purchased a new car because I drive 82 miles a day to work and back. And now, it happened again. 4 times within a 2 year period. Now because of the mileage, if I want it fixed, I have to pay for it. So how much is it?? Well they dont know because in order to give me a price, they have to look at the vehicle. They are unable to determine the price of the part needed and add it to their labor charges to give me a ball park idea of it will cost. So I send an email to the management team who calls me to let me know they cant replace the part for me for free, even though they know it is defective, but they are willing to let me trade it in and put me in a newer model Nissan that doesnt have any defects. Now if this is how they treat their loyal customers when something goes wrong, why on earth would I buy another car from them???

In general, I am not satisfied with Nissan. Their car is not reliable. Last month, I met with their customer service too. It is worse than their vehicles. I highly recommend staying away from Nissan and further than their customer service.

Worse Purchase Ever!!!! I bought a brand new 2014 Altima as a graduation gift for myself in 2014. Within a year my transmission had to be completely replaced as well as my computer. Recently my air went out. The dealership informed me my Air compressor was bad and I was out of warranty. When I complained about the car I was told Sometimes they just have bad parts and there was nothing I could do but pay for the repair. I told them I felt they sold me a lemon and was told its the companys problem and not the dealership.

I leased a car in July of 2006. I received a property tax bill to pay in January. I got a signed and notarized affidavit stating that this vehicle was used for personal use only and that I did not live in the county where the property tax was being applied. In addition, the county where I purchased the vehicle and also reside does not charge property taxes. The first year was fine. I received another bill the second year and I submitted the same paperwork. NMAC claimed they never received it and that I owed them for taxes. I did not pay for it. The following year, I received another bill. When I submitted the forms again, I was told they could not accept them because I had not paid the previous years taxes. I just recently tried to refinance my home and my credit report is damaged because of this. I have tried calling to clear this mess up and was told rudely that this will not go away until it is paid. I submitted everything the company told me to do exactly and yet, this is still on my credit report. They have been extremely rude and have even hung up on me. I will never lease a vehicle again and I will never deal with Nissan again.

I recently bought a Nissan Juke. My Cube had died at 260000 miles after it carried me through 7 of my 14 Caravan To Catch a killer tours for my daughter. It seemed I got a pretty good interest rate with Nissan finance. 3 days before the first payment was due March 13th I attempted to go online and was able to access the website. March 13th was my first payment since I bought the card January 28th but on March 12th it was telling me I was already past due one payment than that old 800 dollars. I still decided to try to play them and I knew was due. but when I tried to access the Bill Matrix every time I click on it it would not open. The next morning the 13th, I went on Nissan finances website and every time I click make a payment it kicked me off the website. Id sign back in, it kicked me out. Then I tried calling twice. First it said it couldnt find my account by my social security numbe. At first, it wouldnt take my account number then when it finally did, instead of giving payment options, it sent me to talk to somebody but people dont man phones on weekend and hung me up - ten-to-one it was sending me somewhere for being overdue which I wasnt. This was on the 12th and I didnt owe 2 payments. Finally last night I went on and got on the website and actually opened bill matrix. I needed an option putting it on the credit card and it listed discover as an option. I put in my account number and all the other information and click on choose payment, it only gave me the option of debit card or check... again possibly because it was saying I was past due which I wasnt.Today Monday, it is a day late. I have called 4 times and each time I was on hold for 33 minutes before I hung up. The last time I started at 515 Central Standard Time and was still on hold until 6 w. They closed their real life people at 7. Im right in the process of trying to push for a law here in Oklahoma and at times must use my credit to help support it through publications etc as well as travel on my CARAVAN tours to seek tips for daughters killer. And there is no email or direct way to get through.

I bought a 2006 Nissan Titan in 2009 with 45K miles on it. I loved the truck up until 80K miles (go figure, right when the warranty expires. Coincidence?). Just after 80K, I started having significant trouble with the front end of the vehicle shaking when I would come to a stop. I replaced the rotors and 3K miles later same problem. At 90K miles, I went to have my oil changed and tires rotated and found out I had both rear axle seals leaking very badly, a common problem amongst Titans ($600 to repair). Now, heres the big one. I started noticing a high pitched ticking sound from the exhaust. Come to find out, I had two cracked exhaust manifolds. This caused an inspection to fail, decreased horsepower, decreased fuel mileage and exhaust fumes to enter inside the cab of the truck! Cost to repair is $3,000. I did my research and it looks like everyone who owns an 04 - 07 Titan has the exact same problem. Nissan will not issue a recall for this problem and refuses to pay for the repair, even though I drive to work every day with headaches, dry eyes and nauseated from the carbon monoxide. They could care less. Funny thing is they changed the exhaust system in the 08 Titans so obviously they knew there was a problem, but still refused to fix it. Now, Im stuck with a truck that I cant get rid of because of the exhaust leak. Im trading the Titan in for a Tundra. Toyota takes care of their customers. They just wrote a check to my brother for over $9,000 because his 99 Tacoma had a rusted frame. This trucks blue book value was $5,500. I will never, I repeat, never buy another Nissan product and I will continue to bash them to everyone I know who is in the market for another vehicle. Nissans are a joke! Learn how to take care of your customers or you will pay for it in the long run! I seriously hope Nissan goes bankrupt. And with the customer service they have, its not a far stretch!

I took my car in to get the leather fixed, bubbling AGAIN. This has already been replaced once. My vehicle is barely a year old. They told me its because of the oil I used to clean it. The first and only time I have ever even attempted to clean my car was 3 days ago. Nissan cleans it when they service it so frequently. It is NOT because of the oil. I have already been to arbitration because the convertible top scrapes the seats when it goes up and down. Now while my car is under warranty something that was already replaced once they arent going to FIX! I will be calling the BBB again and maybe this time I will hire my own lawyer. After contracting for a 2016 Nissan NV200 in April, my husband was taken critically ill within two weeks prior to the vehicle being delivered. Although I know Bob Bell had no legal obligation to assist me, I contacted the GM and requested the deal be voided, as I no longer had the financial position to pay for the vehicle. I also contacted Nissan Motor Corporation. I received no consideration or assistance from either the dealer or Nissan Corporation. Although I was a repeat customer, and a member of the Baltimore, MD community - I was told the deal could not be reversed, even though I had not taken delivery of the van. I offered to have Bob Bell keep my trade in - which was for sale through their used car inventory with no refund to me - as my contribution to the situation, in addition to providing another $2,000.00 to avoid any dealer loss. Nothing. I can only assume I had so overpaid for the van that even before delivery, my trade in profit and an additional $2,000 was still too little for Bob Bell to make on a non-sale. Both Nissan Corporation and Bob Bell Nissan in Baltimore should rethink their commitment to the buying community that has made them successful.

2008 Nissan Versa CVT Problem. I am crying right now. I do not know what I am going to do. The other day I was driving and took my girlfriend home and the gas light came on. It was late and me being a woman decided to get gas the next day. So I did but when I was half way out of my apts the gas pedal quit working. I thought I had run out of gas so I had to go about 5 miles an hour over across the street to the gas station. Put gas in it and it drove fine and to the grocery store right up the street. On my way home it ran fine and when I turned into my apts the gas pedal quit working again. I have it in a shop for about two weeks and they tell me they cannot figure out what is wrong. They believe it is the CVT. They said it was just a fluke that about me being low of gas that this doesnt have anything to do with it. That it is getting plenty of gas but the transmission isnt receiving the information or something like that.I just got online and have seen over 800 different complaints about the CVT on these Nissans. My life is over if it is the transmission. I am on disability and 65 years old. I barely make it as it is. If I do not have a vehicle I cannot go to my doctor or to the grocery store. I have no family. God what am I gonna do. Does anyone know where I can file a complaint at least. So maybe in the future people will see it and not buy a Nissan and be stuck walking like me. Why doesnt Nissan make good on these. Why??

I have had my Leaf for just under 2 years and 10 months. It has a key-FOB for keyless starting system (push button start) and to lock/unlock the doors. My car did not recognize either of my keys yesterday while I was about 5 miles from home. I walked home and called service, and I was told that either the battery was dead or that the car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize the FOB. I could unlock the door with a real key, but there was no way to start the car without the FOB. Not only was there no back-up method to start the vehicle, I was told I had to bring the key-FOB to the dealer to have the battery replaced; I could not just change it myself. I found this hard to believe. After getting the car to Nissan service, it was determined that the key-and-car needed to be reprogrammed to recognize each other and that this was not something that was covered under warranty. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and I was told that warranties cover something wrong with the car not the key. If the car doesnt recognize the key, and needs to be reprogrammed, how is this not a problem with the car? Also, certainly there should be a back up to start a keyless car. Also, customers should be able to replace batteries in their FOBs.

No responsibility for a defected paint job because it was contracted out according to the Nissan North America rep that just called me back. This is sad and I will make sure I put this in as many places possible to be visible to your other consumers. In short, I bought a Black 2015 Nissan Altima less than 5 months ago. I have THOUSANDS of light scratches all over the car. It seems just looking at it scratches it. Its clearly a defect in the clear coat and or paint. The service manager at Nissan agreed it does not seem normal and the rep from Nissan North America would not clearly admit the same but did say I was an advocate for you to help but the decision was made not to do anything because its not a warranty coverage and its contracted out. So what. Nissan needs to take some responsibility. I owned a 2010 Black Chevy Cobalt for over 4 years and had way less paint damage when I traded it in 5 months ago. Obviously something is wrong with the paint or clear coat. I have tried taking better care of the Altima than I did my Cobalt. Rightfully so because its about twice the price. Nissan you made a great car and I love it.

I own a 2012 Nissan Versa with only 38000.00 miles. The car broke down last week on me while I was driving. I had it towed to the dealership where it is still. There they say they cannot find out what is wrong with it but they too cannot get it to start. When I called them today they are now saying they believe it may be something wrong with the transmission. Thank god I bought an extended warranty on it. I cannot be upset with the service department as so far they have been very nice and I do have a rental car compliments of Nissan. But with this car having less than 40000.00 miles and the transmission going out already that is not a good sign. I love my car but if this is an indication of what is to come I am going to get rid of this car and will not go back to Nissan.

I brought a New Leaf on 2nd May 2014. This car is supposed to go 170 Km on a full Battery Charge. My new car will only do 90 to 100 Kms. on a full charge. It has been back to the dealer 3 times for repair. The Head Office of Nissan will not honor the Warranty, as they say there is nothing wrong with the batteries. Their Sales Booklet and internet says should get 170 kms on a full charge. I paid $39,000 cash and would like my money refunded. Head Office in Melbourne WILL NOT CHANGE THE BATTERIES.This car does not perform to what is printed in the Booklet. This car was made in April 2012. Held in storage at Brisbane until sold. The Batteries are 2 Years old when it was delivered to me 4th June 2014. Compliance Plate was Dated May 2014, but the car was over 2 years old then. I expected to buy a 2014 produced Car not a 2 year old one. If then it is sold next year it will say it is 3 year old. I consider that it is false sales to me [not a 2014 model car]. I think Nissan Australia should take the back and Refund me my money.

Cape Cod, MA: At the end of Jan. 13, I purchased a high-end 2010 luxury Maxima SV with 33k miles. The dealer pushed a $2000 extended warranty on me saying mine would run out at 36k. When I read it over carefully, I realized that this did not cover everyday issues (exp: brakes, tires, etc.) and every item that was covered were parts/issues that Nissan would be bound by LAW to correct anyway! (I know this as the previous Director of the BBB & of the Consumer Assistance Council in our region working closely with our State Attorney Generals Public Protection Bureau.)As an educated consumer, I cancelled this useless policy, and surprise - in December 13, 6k miles over the ridiculous 36k warranty (less than any other manufacturer to my knowledge), my beautiful Maxima had me, a woman, stranded in a dark parking lot on an icy rainy Sunday night. It was incapacitated due to a faulty part in the steering column connected to the push start. After research I found that there are MANY HUNDREDS of complaints and horror stories regarding this issue & that Nissan had recalled the defective part on 2009 models. Although I expect the 2010 Maximas also contain this defective part. This brought me on a journey to complain to Consumer Affairs and a regional rep. Neither were concerned with standing behind their expensive, luxury, top of the line vehicle, and were not even interested in extending the repair as a goodwill gesture as, after all, I didnt purchase the Extended Warranty! Try as I might, I could not get through to them that they were STILL bound by Implied Warranties in Massachusetts under MGL. Ch. 93A Consumer Protection provisions. Nissan CANNOT develop and sell extended warranties (Express Warranties) in order to avoid what they would be required to do under an implied warranty. Basically: a product must perform properly for a reasonable amount of time or it is the seller/manufacturers responsibility to rectify. Nissan is attempting to coerce purchasers of their vehicles into purchasing expensive extended warranties - therefore GETTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR (NISSANS) RESPONSIBILITY BY LAW. This is fraud & misrepresentation to consumer and an illegal practice! I am SO disappointed in Nissan Corp. This was my fourth Nissan and the other 3 ran forever! Truly, one of the reasons I wasnt worried about an extended warranty is because in the past Nissans were exceptionally reliable. At this time I dont know WHAT is going on with Nissan Corp., but they apparently feel no responsibility towards the consumer if they havent purchased an expensive and unnecessary extended warranty, therefore absolving them of any financial liability (ie - YOU, the consumer, already paid for yours & everyone elses repairs by purchasing this so-called warranty). Ive filed a Consumer Complaint with Consumer Protection and intend to file a MGL. Ch. 93A claim for treble damages. I also intend to inform our Attorney General of this fraudulent practice to gather information to prepare a class action lawsuit to obtain monetary damages for consumers!

On March 12, 2012, I went to pickup my newly leased Nissan and found out that the plates on the lease car I was turning in could not be transferred to the new car because the registration had been canceled on 12/30/11 without my knowledge or permission. I had to pay for new plates. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp (NMAC) and was told they knew nothing about my registration being canceled nor did my insurance company. After contacting RMV several times, I found out that my registration had been canceled online. They also told me that my plates had been returned. However, my plates were still on my car when I went to the dealership on March 12. How could they have been returned? I have also continued to pay my lease note and insurance on the car during the past three months without any knowledge of registration cancellation. I spoke with the assistant registrar of RMV in Massachusetts today, 3/15/12, and she told me that the IT department at RMV found that it had been canceled via email by a Loida ** from the Tax and Registration Department at NMAC on 12/30/11. This morning I called NMAC and they told me they now have a note regarding my cancellation that was posted on March 13th. However, they previously had no record and knew nothing about the cancellation and told me they have nothing to do with cancellation and to call the RMV. Now, the story has changed. I drove around for three months with a registration certificate in my car, which I didnt even know was invalid or cancelled. What if I had been in a serious accident? I am also required to pay excise taxes in Massachusetts. I received a letter from Nissan in December that they would be including it in my lease bill in the upcoming months as they usually do. I contacted the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts on 3/12/12 and found that they had not received notification to send Nissan a bill from the RMV, which indicated that something occurred like my registration being canceled. Now, I am afraid that this would happen anytime and frequently. I would then have to pay for new registration, new plates and explain and prove to RMV that it’s not me and why its being canceled. This is a major problem for me. I have contacted the governors office, Attorney General, RMV and Nissan looking for help. I need assistance.

I was informed that the company did not receive one of my payments and instead of notifying me, they sent me to creditors. I am convinced someone from the company took that payment and pocketed it. Because of their carelessness, I have been put as delinquent after only missing one payment; and instead of helping to resolve the issue, they said theres nothing they can do! Horrible customer service and bad manager! Nissan needs better employees who know how to interact well with customers, try to find solutions and dont catch attitudes with customers who spend their money in this company. Purchased a 2013 Pathfinder Platinum brand new. Has 24K miles on it and all 4 tires are bald. My wife has hydroplaned with our 16 month old and our 4 month old in the car and almost crashed. We had to stop driving it. At first we thought that Bridgestone would be responsible but after talking to them we found that they do not offer a tire warranty on OEM tires. This is because the manufacturer, Nissan in this case, sets the specifications by which the tire is to be made. They spec soft rubber on OEM tires in order to get a softer ride and better gas mileage etc. So they are made by the tire manufacturer but to the specs that Nissan sets. In these types of agreements between car manufacturers and tire manufacturers the tire company offers no warranty on the tires because they know the rubber specs that car manufacturers set is inferior. Nissan buys poor quality tires with a name brand on them at dirt cheap prices, put them on all their cars and neither company takes any responsibility for the poor product. We have talked with Nissan consumer affairs until we are blue in the face and they will not lift a finger to help. They did not even offer to try to help us work with Bridgestone or our dealership to get a discount on new tires. They have literally offered no kind of help at all. Nissan designed the rubber compound, Nissan put them on their cars and passed them off as high quality, and Nissan should stand behind everything they put on their cars. Especially when they are directly responsible for the design and performance. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM NISSAN!

Nissan of Duarte - I brought in my car to get my USB port checked and strange noises coming from under the car. When I went to pick up my car, I found a long crack in the windshield. I left the car for a week to get the windshield replaced. When I picked up my car the following week, I was really disappointed. There was a scratch on the windshield by the drivers side. The glass is not OEM glass, much cheaper glass. When I play the radio, the sounds dont resonate as well as before. The seals around the windshield dont look like as good as it should be. The glass looked very dirty/dusty like it was an old windshield lying around. They did some things they believed would make the strange sounds go away, like tightened the emergency brakes and tightened the steering wheel. I absolutely dont like the changes and plus, the strange sound didnt go away. Worst yet, I found out that my seat is broken. It was not broken when I left my car for the windshield replacement. Overall, my experience has been horrible with Nissan and Nissan cars.

Nissan vehicles have extensive issues that require multiple services and repairs. Nissan Consumer Affairs said I should have an unlimited service repair but may or may not cover anymore engine issues. Im still within the ten year/100,000 miles engine warranty and yet providing more excuses to cover cost. Im trying to get Nissan to actually repair something in the engine that prevents the vehicle from being driven, but they are getting behind to complete any repairs with a thousand dollars or more. All of this has been a battle to get anything covered or paid for. All I want is for Nissan to actually cover their faulting vehicle.

I leased a 2014 Nissan Maxima in June 2014. The automobile has only 18,000 miles on it. In the last 40 days, it has been in the shop 4 times. First time, the servicing dealer said it was an O2 sensor. Second time, I was told it was the REAR-END O2 sensor. Third time, they kept the car 5 days and couldnt find the problem, so they replaced the wiring harness. Fourth time, the gauge cluster (display) went completely black, and when I took it in to get it fixed, rotate tires and change my oil, they found a front axle leaking oil. I talked to my servicing dealer about trading out of the lease, and they told me the value of the vehicle had dropped in HALF in ONE year, leaving me with no option to trade out. I then contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs to discuss being released from my lease. They drug the process out over a month, hoping I would go away. I continued to pursue them via daily telephone calls. They sporadically returned my calls, using my cell phone, rather than my preferred number at work, thus avoiding direct contact with me. They had indicated they were reviewing my complaint and would have a response by Monday. They notified me today they are only willing to provide me a two-year maintenance plan, but nothing further. THIS CAR IS A LEMON. I recommend NO ONE purchase a new Nissan with this buy the car, but forget servicing the customer after the sale attitude. I have always been a fan of Nissan - purchased many vehicles in the past, and strongly recommended their product to many of my friends. I am sorry to say I have lost all confidence and URGE anyone to live under the BUYER BEWARE philosophy.

I bought a 2014 Pathfinder in January of 2017. It was just out of warranty by mileage and the ABS computer went bad. The Nissan Dealership here locally was very nice and helpful and had never seen this issue before. It is unsafe and unreliable because the speedometer, gas gauge, and the 4-wheel drive do not work when experiencing this issue (I live in a snowy area so I do need the 4 wheel drive to turn on when those conditions are present). I would also say that 36k miles and one prior owner with a clean CarFax Report is a bit early for the ABS computer to fail and so I do believe this is a manufacturing issue with the unit failing prematurely.I completely understand that once the car is out of warranty, Nissan does not have to do anything to help out. However, given the nature of the issue and how recently the car was out of warranty (and only by mileage), I would have thought they would be able to help out in some way. For instance, taking care of the labor or even just giving the dealership a direct purchase cost on the part without a markup. The part is $1400 and the labor is $600. I would have been happy with a minor discount on the repair. However, as other reviewers have commented, the consumer affairs department of Nissan exists to read you the warranty terms. This is my first Nissan, which I bought because of the name and associated reliability, but I will never buy another Nissan after this experience.

I contacted Nissan customer care. I currently own a 2013 Xterra Pro4x with 66,000 miles. I have driven manuals for 30 years. First clutch burned out 35,400. Second clutch was looked at in a dealership service at 63,000 miles. Was told clutch looked perfect, drove perfect. Had a smell coming from the clutch. 3,000 miles later driving at 60 mph in 5th gear, the clutch blew up. Sounded like an explosion followed by sounds of metal fragments rolling around inside. Nissan required a dealership to look at it. Their conclusion is the driver error caused the clutch failure.Ive never had to replace a clutch before 90/100k. Ive heard from other with the Xterra and Frontiers of this exact same problem happening. Now Im hearing if the transmissions going out at 76,000 miles. They are wanting $2700 to replace a clutch that is sure to fail again. Something is causing these clutches and transmissions to fail. So many mechanics and friends are telling me to get rid of the car ASAP. Lesson learned do not buy Nissan. Nissan does not stand behind their product.

I recently traded in my leased Nissan Altima for a used Juke at Vaden Nissan in Bluffton SC. I gave them the payoff on my Altima (through Nissan Motor Acceptance), which they confirmed. The dealership also performed an inspection on my Altima. We discussed a new deal for a used Nissan Juke. They agreed to pay off my Nissan balance, and I financed the price that we agreed to. Four months later I get a bill saying that I owe Nissan Motor Acceptance $1273. I called Nissan Motor Acceptance, and they claimed there was excessive wear and tear on the vehicle, along with an early termination fee. This Altima was in very good shape when Vaden looked at it. It was my understanding when I drove my Juke out their dealership, that we agreed to a deal which had a commitment from both sides. Now they are telling me the charges are non-negotiable. I told both Nissan Motor Acceptance and Vaden Nissan that if I would have known that I owed another $1273, there is no way I would have completed this deal. Who does business like that??? I have NEVER had a problem with Subaru or Toyota coming back to me for charges after a lease. As far as I am concerned, when we agreed to certain numbers, then I shook hands with the salesman, and then drove off the lot, the deal should be over!!! Thanks for reading!

My CVT transmission was replaced at 70,866 miles by Nissan because of all the problems I was having with it. This car has given me problems since day one. 3 weeks ago, my car left me and my two daughters stranded on side the road out of town when it would not accelerate when we stopped at a red light. After getting my car towed ($355.00) back to the city where I live so that I can get it to the nearest shop, I am now being told that I need to replace the transmission again. I now have 131,000 miles and it is no longer under warranty and they want to charge me almost $5,000 to replace my transmission. That 60,000 miles since my transmission was replaced. So obviously the CVT transmissions need to be replaced every 60-70,000 miles. WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I bought a 2012 Nissan Murano 7 month ago and the last 5 month its been sitting in the driveway. The cvt transmission has went bye bye at 120 thousands km so I call Nissan Canada. Gave my vin number only to find out that there was an extended warranty bought and paid for already for that Vin/. My 2012 Nissan Murano. But heres the thing. They got the money already for the warranty but was up to them to let the dealership who I bought it from that there was an extended warranty on this vin and was to be transferred to the new owner within 30 days of purchase which they had failed to do so you went on to have camvac do an arbitration and Nissan sent a legal representation and at the end of it all Nissan could care less about their consumers at all and come good and honor the warranty that they already made the money on and fix my vehicle for me. So now Im stuck with a truck that dont run and a loan that I have to pay for 18 thousand and have nowhere to turn. Im a single father thats been raising my 2 girls for the past 7 years alone. I work my butt off to afford to drive and pay for the car and raised my girls and Nissan has all the money in the world and cant do anything or dont even care. So what Im saying is if anyone reads this think twice before you buy any Nissan car or truck. Never in my life will I return to this dealership (Power Nissan at South Bay) and I advise to be very careful when dealing with the people here. I came into the dealership requesting a Lease Buyout Packet which I was instructed to get from Nissan USA after calling over the phone. So I come in and I was told to wait for **. I waited over 1 hour to only be rushed out of his office, and after declining extended warranty, he literally threw me the purchase order. I couldnt believe the service this man was providing my father and I. I took the purchase order to my credit union to finalize the loan being that I didnt like the customer service given to me there at the dealership. The credit union mailed Power Nissan South Bay the check. I figured we were done and the loan was paid off. Well I was wrong. The same rude unprofessional man by the name of ** called my father and basically threatened him with returning the check back to the credit union if he didnt go in the dealership right there and then to sign the paper work for the extended warranty. My father told him “I don’t speak English.” He then told my father “You’re in America, not Mexico.” My dad couldnt believe his ears. He then called me to tell me what was going on. I then called Power Nissan and requested to speak to ** and then it all went down. This man began to yell and curse me out after I questioned him for harassing my father. He stated that we better go in there ASAP or else. I then asked to speak to his manager and he stated “I am the manager. I’m the senior manager and I don’t have time for you. Go somewhere else” and hung up on me. I called him back and told him Id be coming to pick up the check. He then said “Don’t bother its been destroyed.” So now my question is what’s going to happen to my loan. And where did all this come from. Never in my life have I seen or dealt with such an animal. Yes animal, he is not human. A human doesnt treat others this way. I am so disappointed and don’t even want my 2 Nissan vehicles anymore. I will never ever purchase or support a Nissan dealer after this horrific experience. I have reported this incident to Yelp, BBB, Nissan Corporate I want this to be known. I purchased a 2011 Sentra with 72,000 miles on it for my daughter on May 2014. About 3 months of owning it, she calls me and tells me that the vehicle is losing power at about 55mph on the highway. I figured its probably a dirty fuel filter, so I called Autozone and they told me this vehicles fuel filter is in the tank with the fuel pump and doesnt get replaced. I took the vehicle to my mechanic and his scanner gave us code PO 745 pressure control solenoid malfunction. He told me to take it to the dealer because the vehicle was so new. The Nissan dealer told me that Nissan doesnt authorize them to repair transmissions, only exchange them for remanufactured ones. Then he runs my vin# and tells me that my car is not covered under the extended warranty from Nissan. They cover 2003 till 2010 and my car is 2011 and that I would have to pay to replace the transmission. Weve had the car one year and bought it with 72,000 miles and it currently has 80,500. Now Im stuck with this problem and the vehicle is not paid off yet. At this point I am running out of options. Please help.

I purchased a car from Nissan for my son so that he could get to school safely. We test drove the car together (fully loaded with GPS sirius XM). After we completed the details of the car purchase, my son got the car and drove off. I made the fatal mistake of trusting the salesman. I did not realize the mistake until I asked to borrow my sons car. BLUF, I contacted, Nissan the internet manager called, recorded our conversation and she kept pausing in 5 min intervals as if she were thinking of how to find words to tell me I had the right car. She asked if I came in on the 16K special, I said no, I thought I was getting the car that had sirius XM and GPS. So then she tells me my salesman was out of the country and then she said another far fetch explanation. I contacted Nissan Corp and was assigned a case # so Heidi calls me every 3 days while I am at work or when she is about to leave for the day to check the block to ask if the manager of Bowie Nissan has contacted me. I returned her call and left a message asking to receive an email and she said she is unable to write an email. I was very specific in a detail letter and she leaves a message to say to call her if I have concerns. I will never refer my friends to Bowie Nissan and yes I have many friends who are in need a car including my daughter. I will refer then to Acura, Acura does not rip off its customers. The financial advisor lied initially to me about qualifying for a higher loan and I have excellent credit. The bank gave me a much better loan than Nissan tried to offer for less years. I have seen cars that are clearly marked Altima 2.5S. The paperwork noting what is attached to the vehicle also coincides to read Altima 2.5S. My sons car says ALTIMA S and his paperwork says ALTIMA 2.5S. The fair thing for Nissan to do would be to add the features that we paid for. We have paperwork that clearly says 2.5S

2013 Nissan Rogue CVT transmission, The vehicle loses power due to transmission overheating. Going at a rate of speed over 60 MPH on the interstate in heavy traffic and completely losing power is very dangerous. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs with this complaint and after a review they are willing to cover 50% of the cost to place a cooler in the transmission. I did purchase the extended warranty for this vehicle but because this is not an original part the warranty will not cover the cooler. Nissan has had many many complaints with this same issue but still only willing to cover half the cost to repair. If Nissan requires this additional part on the vehicle in order for the valve cover to be replaced because of the overheating, then they should cover 100% of the cost!!! I am very dissatisfied with this vehicle and Nissan. This is a very dangerous problem with the vehicle. Its a problem Nissan should fix especially with all the complaints they are getting with this particular CVT transmission. I am very shocked and disappointed with Nissan for not fixing this problem.

This is the beginning of my campaign against Nissan. They build crap cars and dont stand by their product. Do not buy a Nissan. You will regret it. There are ridiculous problems that you would not expect from a car built in the 21st century. They are common across the board. The door handles come off simply by opening the door. Water pools in the driver side floorboard. The airbags will go off for no reason. The airbags are the only thing theyll fix because they know its a liability.

I have complained to Nissan Customer Service Malaysia about the occurrence of a small crack line at the center of my Nissan Sylphy dashboard. They replied that the crack line was due to external impact and therefore not claimable. I requested for a detailed explanation of what sort of external impact that has caused the crack line. This is because they have taken photos of my car both externally and internally. They did not give me a satisfactory reply but instead requested me to pay some USD1000 for the repair.Sir, the only impact on my car is a small dent on the lower left door of my car that has happened more than a year ago. My mechanic can testify to that. But, the crack occurred just one month ago. So there is no relationship between the dent and the crack. It really hurts when I received such response from Customer Service Nissan Malaysia as I have been a strong supporter of Nissan cars in the last 15 years. I have owned a Nissan Serena (1997), Nissan Sentra (2005) and now a Nissan Sylph (2009). Your kind intervention is much appreciated.

I worked for a Nissan Dealer for 3 weeks, so I could find out why the cars had lost the great reputation of the 280ZX, and why most people hated the dealers. I sold my shop and moved to Florida to find out what was the problem. They only paid 30% of the labor fee to a mechanic if it is warranty. If it was warranty work and good mechanics did it, they would have quit if it was warranty. Mostly new bad mechanics, with no customers, got the warranty work and oil changes. They would change the oil with recycled oil on hot motors, thus spilling it all over the trans, causing warranty work for leaks all over. They paid me $75.00 to replace a rear main engine seal that was dry as a bone, oil was all over the trans, because of boys changing oil. I only use Fully Synthetic German 20w 60w LIQUI MOLY oil. Back in 2000 a cheap $20.00 oil change at Nissan was recycled oils, garbage. They did not care about customers. I still hear from my customers back home in Louisville and they miss me. I took good care of them from a wreck to a clutch, and when the Dealer told them they could not fix it, I had like new used parts and would have it going in one date with a year or more warranty for 1/5th the cost. I drive a Lincoln Towncar now and a BMW Z4, cause BMW charges much more, not a better vehicle, 240Z easiest car to work on.

I leased a 2016 Nissan Maxima the day after I came back from my deployment training. I had great experience with Nissan of Omaha and had Altima before. Had some issues but they were taken care of before. Based on that, I leased a Maxima. Soon after driving the car, I had issue with the front collision sensor that keeps on showing up on dash. The error read as sensor blocked. Took it to the dealer and was told to take vehicle on side of street and clean the sensor and keep driving. One month later, on a road trip to Kansas had the same issue. Pulled on side of road and front bumper scraped a rock. So took it to dealer and was told that sensor is damaged will be replaced however, I need to take car to body shop and replace the bumper myself before I can ever proceed. Brand new car, 2 months old and has a broken sensor. Since I am on a lease, I cant get out but I will not recommend Nissan to anyone.

While driving down the highway, a tire started to deflate. I called the dealership and let them know it was deflating for unknown reasons and they said even though I hadnt purchased the tire warranty that they would patch it and I would have no issues. So I brought it in and with one look they said they wouldnt patch it and I had to buy a replacement because it showed wear on the sidewall. Which it didnt have wear, the dirt was just not as noticeable after being almost flat for an eighth of a mile until I could pull off the highway to put the donut on. It cost me $290, as the rest of the vehicle is under warranty I didnt want to risk any interference of that by having 3rd party work done on it. But even under manufacturers standards it is covered since the tread wear is 1/32 off of brand new and there was only 8000 miles on the car. Their consumer affairs dept. called me back and basically said since I didnt pay extra for a warranty on the tires of the brand new vehicle that there was nothing they would do. But yet the tire they put on to replace automatically had a warranty. Am I the only one baffled by this logic? I will never buy another Nissan ever. They are rude and condescending and awful at listening and helping the people paying for their salary.

2011 Nissan Versa Needs New Engine - Check engine light was blinking, engine started to run rough so I had it towed to a reputable mechanic in town. I was told the #3 cylinder had very low compression and needed a new engine. With only 77k miles how could this be? Called Nissan and told me to take it to a Nissan Authorized Dealer for diagnostics, so Consumer Affairs will review, which I had to tow it there and pay another diagnostic, only to have Consumers Affair deny any assistance for a new engine, because it was outside the perimeter of being out of warranty, pre-owned and I wasnt a loyal Nissan customer for maintenance (I just got the car over the summer). My daughter previously owned the Versa and loyally took it to a Nissan Dealership where she bought it. There have been several complaints of low compression issues not only for Versa but other Nissan models. Although Im sure they are aware, they will do nothing about it.So Im stuck with having to pay for a new engine or dump the car! My son went from excited to drive a newer car to disappointed. It is no longer operable. Had I not paid off the car when I purchase it from my daughter ($5100 left to pay) for my son, she would have had to make payments to the bank for an inoperable car. I was so adamant about my son (new teen driver) having a newer, safe car, certainly wasnt expecting a Nissan vehicle to need a new engine with only 77k miles. Thought Nissan are supposed to run much longer. Very dissatisfied with how Nissan wont back their product.

I purchased my Altima in 2011 from Newburgh Nissan, Harte Auto Group. Boy was I ripped off! I felt that I was bait & switched when it came to the deal and paperwork. Clearly, after I realized that I paid WAY too much for this vehicle, nobody wanted to hear about it. Not the dealership and not Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. My payment is way too high for what I can afford since DAY 1. NMAC will NOT work with me regarding possibly modifying the terms of my loan. They dont care. Representatives there are very nasty. No notes was ever noted when I call. I seem to explain my story over and over again. Now nearly sinking clearly into a state of bankruptcy - JUST FOR THIS LOAN/CAR - Im sick to my stomach. In this day and age, you would think auto creditors would WANT to work with you - have a little bit of understanding and compassion to try and make it work. Nissan does NOT. I will NEVER recommend or purchase another Nissan product as long as I breathe and walk this earth. Ive made mistakes in my life - but this one was by far, the worst Ive ever done. Once again, not the dealer or NMAC will even try to listen to me or work with me to make my situation a little easier. DONT BUY A NISSAN!!!

2007 Nissan Titan, 4 months out of warranty, mileage is within warranty by 10K miles. Customer service advocate decided to deny assistance without ever learning the merits of our request. We are a family of Nissan owners. We currently own 3 Nissans and have had as many as 5 within the last ten years. Federal emissions warranty is for 8 years/80,000 miles. We purchased 02/27/2007, thus time element of warranty is out by four months. Cost of repair is over $2200 for the catalytic converter exhaust repair. Customer advocate advised that they were unwilling to assist because we hadnt visited the dealership for service. If they had bothered to call and discuss anything with us, they would realize we live over an hour away from the dealership and service visits by a retired individual that far away dont make economic sense. We ask for assistance and without any conversation with us, a decision was made. I cannot understand how this would ever be considered a customer service department when they chose not to communicate with their customer.

Nissan is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned and just recently bought another one like it because I loved the first one so much. It is a Nissan king cab with lots of room. I got it for a fairly decent price and I was lucky to find it. It was just sitting on the lot and it took some haggling to get the dealer to come down where I could afford it. I bought a used Nissan Rogue in May 2015. I had it for 2 months when, leaving my subdivision, it began to roll backward for no reason, and I had no control over it. It nearly went into a watery ditch. I tried to dismiss it when I was able to get it started again, but I was very concerned. It had just barely not missed that ditch! Then, last night I was returning from Charleston, SC and in Columbia, SC and as there was work being done on I-26, a major highway, cars were being led in every lane VERY SLOWLY by highway patrolmen, one per lane. This meant that all cars were continuously putting on brakes every few seconds. After a few attempts to put on my brakes, I began to feel that the brakes were no longer under my control, as they werent holding properly. The car then began to go backwards again, this in the middle of hundreds of cars and 18-wheeler trucks crawling at a snails pace. I was terrified as I could not control the car, and I still dont know how I avoided hitting those behind me. I suppose they were just fortunate somehow to get around me. I put my foot on the brake, but that did nothing. I then pushed the emergency brake down and had to hold down that as well. I was in the center lane in all that traffic. I had lost my cell phone, so I didnt have that. I was beginning to get hysterical. I opened the drivers door (the window wouldnt roll down at that point), flailing my hands and blowing the horn. Id already put on the emergency lights. No one helped until about 15 minutes of this, with people screaming at me. Finally a young man (God bless him!) stopped in front of me and told me he would get a highway patrolman to help. The patrolman soon arrived and told me I had to get the car removed from all the bottled traffic I was in! He then told me to put the car in neutral and then turn on the switch. In tears I told him I was afraid to take my feet off the two brakes. However, I did as he said, and the car then started forward. He told me he would hold back the mass of cars so that I could get into the slow lane. He said I would have to get back to Greenville, about 90 miles away, the best way I could. This caused me to get off onto a road in downtown Columbia, with which I wasnt at all familiar. After driving around, I stopped at a McDonalds where a worker told me how to get back on I-26. I had to drive slowly and carefully back home. This happened last night, January 13, 2016. I had previously made an appointment for January 21 to have Greer Nissan check out the car after the previous problem in my subdivision as someone there told me it may be the drive train. I had to get it to a dealership before 60, 000 miles as my extended warranty declared. When I got back home, this morning I called AAA to tow the car to the dealership as I was just 20 miles short of 60,000 miles. Well, the dealership has had it today and can find nothing wrong with it. Theyve driven it several times, and checked it out but have come up with nothing. (REALLY?) I told them SOMETHING is terribly wrong, so they agreed to keep it until tomorrow. After reading all the previous complaints about Nissan automobiles, I know I have a lemon, and I now call it the Death Car. I am afraid to drive it. I am a widow on a very limited income, so theres no extra money to put into that car. God, please help me!

About 2 months ago, when leaving work one morning, my dash lit up - ABS failed, slip, TCS and service engine. I shut the car off and restarted (it was 2AM, no one to call), same lights, but I had to drive home for about 18 miles. The brakes work. I called service the next morning and took the car in to be checked. The ABS module had failed. The dealer has been unable to get the ABS module to repair my car, the way this system was designed. The failed module was drawing power from the battery all the time so I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery every time to drive and park, to avoid having a dead battery (I work for a 5-star resort in transportation. Meaning, we provide service 24/7 to our members and guest). The solution was to disconnect the module from the battery. Now, not only do I not have ABS, no speedometer or cruise control, this is now a matter of safety and not just the convenience of having the vehicle I purchased. The dealer was unable to get the delivery info for replacement.

I have an electric blue 2005 Nissan Frontier Nismo. Since about 2008 and 40,000 miles, it has been shedding paint like my car sheds hair! It started with the front left quarter panel, then the front right quarter panel, then the right rear quarter panel, then the gutters on the roof, then both doors on the right side, and also many other obscure places like the gas tank door, and underneath the hood, a place that never encounters any weather or road related contact. I bought the truck used with approximately 41,000 miles on it and, after I bought the truck, I found out that the previous owner had actually already dealt with this issue and had taken the truck to Nissan, complained about the paint peeling and Nissan did a tape test on the vehicle. They pulled off a significant amount of paint but then claimed that the issue was not a factory defect. I have gone through all of the appropriate steps with Nissan and basically have gotten the runaround. They keep claiming that its not a factory defect and that there is nothing that they can do to help me.I have formed a Facebook group titled 2005 electric blue Nissan frontier paint delamination. I am seeking as many affected Nissan Frontier owners that have experienced the same paint defect with that year, make and model and color of truck. The more people that I can get to come forward with this issue, the stronger my case will be. I have been in contact with the same attorney group that is handling the transmission/radiator recall and they are very interested in taking up this case as a class action lawsuit. So please, if you are affected by this paint peeling issue, please add yourself to the group on Facebook and we will go from there. Thank you.

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa Note at Gladstone Nissan. Navigation system has never worked right & I spent 5 weeks taking it back & contacting dealership. They never had service handle my complaints but rather had the salesman troubleshoot to no avail. I no longer had the time to drive there & sit & especially since I did not give good survey results on Nissan survey - have been confronted by dealership employees including GM (Why would Nissan share that information that I was promised was anonymous only to be confronted personally & by phone? Nissan failed to honor their word & placed me in harms way. What was the purpose of the surveys - to punish the consumer who answers honesty?). No interest in resolving multitude of problems Ive had with the dealership, including getting my address correct, providing me with promised paperwork, deceptive practices in including other warranties with contract & being uncooperative in cancelling the contracts (see Edmunds.com consumer reviews - this is their standard). Worse yet, there are 2 recalls already - not even a month old. Nissan Consumer Affairs is a big waste of time & patronizing - they claimed they could not consider more actions because I do not have documented return visits for the car (once again, the dealership at fault) & did not return the car for recall campaigns (I did some 3 weeks prior to CA claim) at a different dealership. They have no course of action intended apparently except to not help the customer - who buys a new car which does not work as promised & identifies problem immediately. The other dealership ordered a replacement navigation system, except that they cant get them in because it is too new a car. So how am I to resolve a problem with a new car which Im stuck with when there is no one in the hierarchy of Nissan NA taking responsibility for their cars, dealerships and customer satisfaction promise? Now the ceiling in the car needs repaired. I would not recommend Nissan because they fail to support their guarantee and do nothing to resolve problems with their dealerships & car defects. I have logged some dozen hours in calls to no avail. I have new car payments on a limited income, poor health & a navigation system I purchased to navigate in a new area to get to many medical appointments/tests. Consequences of buying a Nissan: I have a new car that has a navigation screen that has pop-ups that block all visibility of the map & have expended hours lost, on the side of the road trying to clear it, and deteriorating health as a result. I have spent hours trying to contact third party vendors to cancel non-negotiated contracts & updating my mailing address because of incompetence & unethical designs of dealership. It is helpful to share my plight in social media to warn future buyers to steer away from the Nissan Versa Note, Nissan N.A., Gladstone Nissan, so that my experiences are not repeated.

My 2010 370Z started making a clunk sound from the rear of the vehicle. Dealer worked on it for nearly 3 weeks and eventually told me that the noise is just a characteristic of the vehicle. I asked other 2010 370Z owners if they had the same noise and every response was no. This noise is not normal. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and they reviewed my case and eventually told me that there is nothing they can do other than extend a portion of the warranty. What good is the warranty if they refuse to fix the problem?

I purchased the Versa from a Toyota dealer; May 5, 2015. After having it for a little over six months the battery went dead. I had to purchase a new battery. On August 7, was heading home from Las Vegas. It was bumper to bumper traffic then there was a brake. I tried to accelerate there was a resistant. It picked up speed and just cut off. I had no brakes. It was if the interlock system shut off everything. At that time traffic slowed down. I turned on my hazard lights and barely get over to shoulder without an accident. It was coasting with no brakes then there was this downhill slope. The speed picked up. I was praying that no other car got in front of me. A car did get in front of me but it quickly got back over. I thought I was going to have to drive the car into the dessert in order to stop it if the shoulder ran out. I came upon an exit and got off. It was an overpass with a steep hill, that stopped it. Then at that time I was able to pull up the emergency brake. I was stopped in the middle of two lane traffic; one lane coming and one going. I was still in danger of being hit by another vehicle. I was terrified as well as my family. Stuck in the desert in an unsafe spot. Others stopped after an hour and moved the car to a safer spot. I called the tow truck, to be towed 194 miles home. It took the tow truck over two and a half hours. I was afraid it was getting dark. We had no water. My mother is 81 years old. I saw three other Nissan Versas stranded besides my. Once the tow truck got there and hooked my car up, got in, and had a conversation with him. He said last week he picked up three Versas. They said the same thing I said. Their car just shut off. Took my car to Nissan car dealer in Alhambra, California on Main St. to find out it shut down because of the CVT. There was a recall on August 2015. On 2013 thru 2015 Versas, I also had another recall on some part that went under the brake. I didnt get a letter informing me of the recall. When asked why not, they told me I was not in their system as owning a Nissan. I said I am a registered owner with the DMV. Dont the two share database? I dont believe it. There has to be a law. So just wait until I have a close encounter or die to find out about the recall. Nissan has no remorse. They told me my transmission need service. After all that Ive been through, you would think they would take care of that? Nissan has this slogan, Ride in a Nissan with confidence. My first car at seventeen was a Datsun 510 brand new off the lot. Come to think of it, I had it long enough to just pay for it. No wonder they dont make them anymore. Nissan need to be put out of business. They are putting out bad cars that are going to cost many people their lives. They have poor customer service. After all that Nissan called me to upgrade a purchase on a new car, I said, Are you serious? I dont even like Nissan anymore. I will accelerate this complaint to social media. Im going to sue. I will try everything. Even a class action, because I know this is happening to thousands. We cant just sit still and allow any and everything to happen to us. If we dont stand for something, we will fall for anything. I will never buy another Nissan.

BUYER BEWARE. We set our payments up on auto draft, but it didnt work. We had no idea the payment wasnt being made until it was too late, and now its tanking our credit. We could have paid outright for the car, but financed it for the sole purpose of increasing our credit score. We began getting calls from Nissan shortly prior to the payment being 30 days late, which sounds like they were doing their due diligence, correct? Wrong.Their calling system is antiquated and set up exactly like someone committing identity theft, like the spam calls everyone gets numerous times per day. We had no way of knowing it was a legitimate call because sometimes wed answer and it would automatically disconnect. Wed call back. Sometimes it would answer and automatically disconnect, sometimes an automated system would ask for our FULL social security number (not just the last four of our SSN) before agreeing to connect us to a representative. Considering we thought we were set up on auto draft, therefore thought our payments were being made, and were getting calls from an automated system claiming to be Nissan, at times disconnecting when we answered, at times disconnecting when we called back, and asking us to enter our full social security number when we got through, it all seemed sketchy. It would not be difficult for anyone attempting identity theft to figure out we are making payments to Nissan, call us under the guise of Nissan, and ask for our personal information. Considering the circumstances, we legitimately thought these were spam calls. Furthermore, we received no written communication from Nissan letting us know payments werent being made, and no phone calls from a live representative. Just sketchy automated phone calls, like the numerous ones we get each day that are spam.My husband finally decided to figure out what was going on and called the dealership where we purchased the car. We had an incredible experience with them when we bought the car, which is the reason we bought a Nissan in the first place. The finance manager called the number with my husband to verify whether or not it was spam. Thats when we realized these calls were legitimate, our payments werent set up on auto draft, like we thought, and we had a payment over 30 days late. We explained our situation, brought our payments up to date immediately, even paying extra, and they submitted our account to the legal and credit department for review, to hopefully reverse the negative mark on our credit. Not only did they not reverse it, the customer service supervisor I spoke with when I called to find out the status of the account was incredibly rude and disrespectful. In all my years of talking to customer service representatives, some are fantastic, but she was among the worst. Degrading words, degrading tone of voice. It still astounds me that she spoke to me the way she did.I wish I would have read all of the negative reviews regarding Nissan Finance before we financed our vehicle. Like I stated before, we could have paid cash for it, but decided to finance it for the sole purpose increasing our credit score. At the very least we would have financed it through our own bank, it was just easier the day we purchased the car to go ahead and finance through Nissan. BIG MISTAKE! We aren’t done fighting this. If there is a resolution other than our current situation I will update this review. I’m not looking forward to the hours we are going to have to put in to correct a situation that wouldn’t exist if Nissan Finance operated like a company that legitimately cared about its customers, like Honda, Toyota, etc. etc. Again, BUYER BEWARE! If you finance through Nissan, get ready for a rough ride. Keep track of your auto drafts – DO NOT trust that the system will do what it’s supposed to do. And if you happen to have an issue to work out be prepared to be talked to very disrespectfully.

I brought vehicle (90SX 240) in for service because there was a lifetime warranty on the seatbelt components, which I read included the motor. The motor pulls the chest restraint back when you close the doors of the vehicle. That was my number 1 concern. It wouldnt move! I was haggling with Nissan North Americas consumer affairs about its warranties and what it covered. My case# **, contact person, Richy **. They attempted to sell me a used motor for $600 and when I told them about a new motor for $98. After 15 days they gave me the vehicle back with the seatbelt repaired and a tampered frontend, which I didnt have when I trusted them with my vehicle.

Bear with me this a long story, but I took a chance with a Nissan Dealer and am now regretting ever buying a Nissan. I’ve owned my car for a little over 3 months, and 1/3 of those months I have had it in the shop- untouched. Unfortunately, I live in Michigan- where the road conditions are unpredictable. I hit something, and immediately had it towed to a Nissan dealership near me - Fox Nissan of Lansing. This is where they held my car for 2 weeks, telling me they could repair it. At the end of these 2 week they informed my insurance that they DO NOT have a collision center and cannot fix my car. Look, I know I should have asked the right questions, but I work a 9-5 job and every time I tried to call to talk to someone they were busy, which I understand, but I never received any callbacks, and I received no EMPATHY from the sales desk. When talking to what was said to be the manager there, he offered me nothing for my wait. After towing my car to a collision center nearby, they inform me one part for my car will take 4-6 weeks to get there. Then at which I will have to wait for them to fix my car. Now, I am in a position where I must loan a family friend’s car for 2 months. I then reached out to Nissan’s customer service to see if there is anything they can do for me. I wait another week to find out there is not ONE single thing they can do for me, NOTHING. Now, I have worked in the customer service industry for YEARS. For me to buy a car and have something misfortunate happen soon after, and must wait 2 months for me to see my car, be offered no rental/ loaner, no free future services, no free car payments, nothing? Now that makes for a very unhappy customer. I will no longer be buying a Nissan after this car. For any new car buyers? I wouldn’t buy a Nissan either.

I took my 2008 Nissan Rogue to get new tires. When the tire shop took the old tires off, they discovered that the tire pressure sensors were corroded and loose and couldnt be tightened. Their policy is that they cant replace the tires without replacing the sensors because that would be disabling a safety feature. So, I had them replace the two worst sensors at a cost of $300.00, more than the cost of two tires, and put the new tires on. The other two sensors were corroded also, but they could still be tightened. Upon leaving the store, I went to the Nissan dealer to see if I could get some compensation for this because the car was only 4 years old with 59,000 miles. I was told that I couldnt because the work was done somewhere besides the dealer. I had no choice but to get the work done by the tire shop because they couldnt send the car out the door with the safety feature disabled. Next I went to a Consumer Affairs website and found out that there was a recall on 2008 Nissan Rogues for said tire pressure sensors. The service manager at the Nissan dealer never mentioned this recall. I then called Ken **, the GM at the Nissan dealer, explained the situation and mentioned that I knew about the recall. At this point, he said the recall was VIN specific and that my vehicle was not covered. Obviously, if my vehicle isnt covered, it should be because the problem is the same as the one covered by the recall. Shouldnt I be compensated for the cost of the sensors and have the other two replaced at no cost?

Purchased car in April 2012. It is a convertible, just in time to enjoy for the summer. But that did not happen because within a month of having the car just in time to use for the nice weather, the car was in for service because the roof would not go up and down - 3x this happened. Then the winter came, no problems, because you dont look to put the roof down. The summer of 2013 is here and the car is in for service again - entire roof was replaced and still does not work properly. The car has been at 2 different dealerships in the 16 months I have owned it for a total of 7 times. One dealership even tried to give me the car back with the windows not closing properly.

I purchased a Nissan Rogue 2015 from Koeppel Nissan, Queens NY. It has been in their service department several times for different issues but the main Issue is a Broken Transmission within 6 months of having this car. I had a Nissan Versa 2012 and traded in for this Rogue 2015 and I really regret have done that. Nissan Koeppel has been really unprofessional with me. I found out that they were claiming repairs for my car when my car was not even near their service department. I think that because my car has been IN so many times, they thought that they could claim repairs any time they wanted even when my car was not around.I tried to get in touch with Nissan Consumer Affairs and asked them for support, but they have done anything for me. So I had to contact the BBB and open a complaint. My car still has issues that hasnt been repaired, make noises, the transmission still has issues, the engine is weak, the MPG is only 15 in the city when is supposed to be at least 28, I feel like Im driving a Non-fuel Economy car, Im having issues with my entry Key, the car wont turn on sometimes and the list goes on... And the fact that this dealer in Queens New York was faking some repairs which I confronted on Sep 18th, and because of that I was asked to leave and never come back because I found out that they were lying about my car repairs, at this point, I dont know if they actually fixed my car when my car was actually in their service department.I dont feel safe with this car, I dont believe that they have done anything to my car and Im really disappointed with the service of Koeppel Nissan and Nissan Consumer Affairs. I believe this Nissan Rogue 2015 is a faulty car!!! And I dont want anyone to go through what Im going through, especially as a single mother. I was able to get a meeting with Nissan North America and BBB this month and hopefully they can replace this car or give me back my Nissan Versa. I will keep you posted!

Well the issue has been fixed. It cost me $3000 for the co-pay which Nissan thought was a great deal because my vehicle had over 100,000 miles. The rest was covered by Nissan under what they call good will. Not really happy with the deal but have to take what you can get I guess. The sad part is this whole problem could have been avoided if Nissan would have done the right thing and issued a recall considering they knew about it the whole time. Bad customer service!

Bought Rogue in April of 2011. It is a 2011 model. Car was BRAND NEW! Approx. 8-12 months later, noticed transmission making high-pitched whining sound. Call Nissan, Norwich, CT where I had purchased vehicle. Was told that the noise was normal for the CVT transmission. So I didnt worry about it after that. Finally in May of 2014, I really thought the transmission wasnt right. I brought it in and paid Norwich Nissan 116.00 diagnostic fee. Was given invoice/statement saying that the transmission had been checked and that no problems were found and that no service needed. Then in November, my transmission suddenly stopped working, and I barely made it home. I was furious! I took it to a local trusted mechanic and he told me the transmission was shot and had been going for a long time! I contacted Nissan Corporate Consumer Affairs and it took over a month of phone calls back and forth for them to finally tell me that that would claim no responsibility because the car was too far out of warranty (82,000 miles). When I first asked Nissan about the car, it probably only had about 24,000 on it. Then in May when they checked the transmission, it had 70,000 miles. I did some research and found several other customers whose transmission had died around 70 - 72,000 miles just like mine. DON’T TRUST NISSAN......VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IF THEY KNOW YOURE RIGHT! I will continue to seek legal action against this company. In the meantime, Ive bought a Mazda, so far very happy with. Am in the process of trying to sell my 30,000 dollar Rogue (now worth about $6,000 without a transmission!).

When I purchased a 2011 Nissan Frontier, I was asked, How would you like your payments to be made? Through automatic withdrawal or through mail? I clearly stated that I would like an online account that would draft my payments automatically on the 17th day of every month. When I first discovered that payments were being taken from my online account and through mail, I contacted my bank to stop the payment. I then contacted Nissan to inform them I did not want my account being drafted twice a month. Fast forward to a year later: the same thing, but only this time Nissan Finance writes an email to me apologizing for mistakenly drafting twice out of my account. I took the initiative to cancel one of the two payments that they were taking. Once I did, Nissan did the same thing; therefore, no payment was received for the month of July. Harassing phone calls everyday all day began approximately 4 days after. I spoke with a lot of callers (all of which I cant understand due to language barriers). I explained my grievance and they said, Sorry, but you now must make a payment for last month.” I find this company to be poorly run, disorganized and filled with negligence across the board. I can promise that this Nissan 2011 Frontier will be the last Nissan I buy and I will gladly share this story with anyone interested in buying a Nissan.

This is the first time I have purchased a Nissan. I am pretty sure I will never again. I have been to the shop numerous times for things that should not be happening in the first year. The underneath trim which is supposedly useless has fallen off twice. My brakes squeaks (which I dont understand why) never had another car that did unless brakes pads need to be changed. Oh and that has already have been done. The wheel well had to be replaced twice as well.Along with all the starter issues. Seems to me that pieces of a brand new car that has been repaired twice on two separate pieces should not be falling off. And for Nissan not to care that I have been to the dealership as often as I have. I think I have been there way too often for my liking. Very disappointed in the things happening to this car and Nissan reaction to my concerns is so concerns of theirs. When I first purchased the car another customer by the car talked so highly about Nissan in general so I was excited to have a good quality car and that is far from what I have had since purchasing.

After making arrangements with Nissan to make to make a payment, I repeatedly get calls. Ill even explain that Ive made an arrangement and need to release the line to answer my phone at work. The caller would have me in tears before releasing the line or I just simply hang up. I will have told them that Im at work and need to leave the call. Its very embarrassing to have my own customers overhear my conversation!! Its very emotionally draining to try to perform your duties at work, in order to make your payment, and have Nissan repeatedly ask questions that you may not want to answer in front of your own customers. And if Im working with a customer, theyll call my work phone and ask for my co-worker, which is my friend/cosigner. She is tired of the calls as well. I know my payment need to be made. But calling me several times, after speaking with someone is ridiculous.

My lease was over and I turned in the vehicle, but Nissan and the dealers could not get together or work or cooperate on anything. Do I need an inspection? No, said Nissan because the dealership offered to buy the used car. According to the dealers, I do and they do it. Cool. They can inspect the vehicle when I turn it in. But then they dont, after all. NMAC and the dealership really jerk you around.During the lease, NMAC could not take my Visa for online payment, so I always had to send the check. After passing the inspection and escaping any costs, I was told Just turn in the vehicle, you have paid everything you owe. Three weeks later I was charged by NMAC almost $500 for a disposition fee! I have been a Nissan customer since 2001. I am pissed. I was considering leasing another Nissan in a few months. Screw that. Today, I do not want another Nissan vehicle ever. My partner brought a Nissan Navara 2 years ago, brand new, and since then it has spent more time in the garage being fixed than actually being driven. It has only done 40,000 km. It has had the clutch replaced. The alternator has gone 3 times as well as the starter motor of which it has cost us nearly 2 grand each time to fix. My partner used it for semi 4wd/work car for the first 12 months until we continued to have the same issues, then he used it as a work car. Now being a 4x4 car you would think you could drive it out the bush. Well this is not the case. Every time it went out bush it ended up with water in the starter motor and rust. I may also ass that it ended up with dust in the alternator which is meant to be a completely sealed unit. In addition my partner for the past 12 months has only used it as a work car, which he is a bricklayer and it seems to have the same problems. This means that even if he drives on a dirt road then the same issue occurs. We have had our own issues with the dealership where we live, not contacting head office, and making us pay for things we should have. In addition they have also been very uncooperative and unhelpful to deal with. We have contacted head office about these problems and the fact that this car is completely useless unless driven on sealed roads!! Head office was very unhelpful, had terrible customer service and was unwilling to investigation further or help find a solution to the problem! NISSAN state that they like to have customer service and a high level in resolving issues. Well we find this to be very untrue. I might also add that this car is under finance. We are now paying for a car we cant use or rely on!! We have had to go buy a 3rd car just so we have a reliable car for my partner to use for work. We should not have to do this for a brand new car that is meant to be 2 years old. VERY DISAPPOINTED with NISSAN!!! Would not deal or buy a Nissan again!!!!
