New Hyundai N models teased debuts for July 15
Posted On: July 7, 2022
The Hyundai N model line is about to expand, again. On Monday, Hyundai teased three upcoming N models on its global N Instagram account. The teasers are part of the automaker's N Day announcement, which will take place on July 15. One teaser places a blurred vehicle on a racetrack. Despite the fuzziness, the vehicle appears to be a hatchback and is painted in the signature Performance Blue blue color all previous N models have worn for their debuts. 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N spy shots - Photo credit: S. Baldauf/SB-Medien Given the timing and profile, this might be the electric Ioniq 5 N, which has been spotted undergoing testing both on the street and track multiple times. Spy shots have indicated the Ioniq 5 N will feature a lowered suspension, wider front and rear tracks, low-profile tires, and a new wheel design. Upgraded brakes were spotted with larger calipers and rotors. Tweaks to the front and rear fascias are expected. Power output will be in the neighborhood of 576 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph sprint of about 3.5 seconds. All-wheel drive will likely be standard. The second image shows a sedan or fastback with a large rear wing. It could be a in the shadows with a sheet draped over it. The profile indicates it could be a Sonata N or it could be based on a vehicle not currently in the lineup. The second teaser notes the vehicle envisions "the future of N with legacy," leading us to believe the blue car in the first image might be electric, while the second car might be a last-hurrah for a new gas-powered N car. The third image appears to be a forthcoming Ioniq 6 N based on the taillight design and profile in the teaser image. The Ioniq 6 was revealed in June and won't arrive in the U.S. until 2023. Based on the Ioniq 5's underpinnings, expect the Ioniq 6 N to share the 5 N's powertrain.

The 2012 Hyundai Sonata is pretty and stylish inside and out. I bought the Limited Trim with all the bells and whistles. Problems: The steering began to tug to one side while the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty. We took the car several times to the dealership and they could not see anything wrong with the vehicle. I was told this behavior was within Hyundais specification and that it was normal for the vehicle. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has this abnormal normalcy. This problem has not gone away. Vibration. I cannot tell you enough how irritated I have been with this vibration. Once you go over a certain speed (Im not sure at the moment, but Im not talking of highway speed - just normal in-town speed), the car begins to vibrate. Ive gone to the dealership over and over and over. I am tired and angry that a brand new 2012 car will behave this way and the people at the dealership cant figure out what the seems to be the problem. Not too long ago, my wife and I noticed that when turning the vehicle made a certain noise as if something was about to break, as if some metal was hitting another metal. The dealership said it was a steering column problem and we had to pay out of pocket to fix it since we have put over 60,000 miles on the car. The car has gone out of bumper-to-bumper warranty. The lingering problems (listed above), I have to fix out of pocket. It will take a lot, a whole lot, for me to buy a Hyundai vehicle ever again. I loved the roominess and stylishness of the Sonata, but it seems that those are about all it has. I am very disappointed in this vehicle to say the least. My 2009 Chrysler 300C never gave me these troubles.

I have the Hyundai Sonata 2011 that was manufactured in Alabama between Dec 11, 2009 and April 12, 2012 part of the recall campaign 132. Prior to this my Sonatas motor seized up and stopped work with only 60K miles and at that time the company did not want to honor the warranty and also gave me a very hard time about the loaner so much that I had to rent a car myself. I later contacted someone at the corporate office in CA and finally received a full refund. Now my motor goes out with no warranty at 154K miles. Send the car to my mechanic for repairs. Out of pocket 15.000+ only to find out that there was nothing left but to replace the motor according to my VIN number. This is what Hyundai motors said and was also told that money I spent would be reimburse in 90 days. Well its been 100 + days without even a courtesy call?

I purchased this vehicle - Hyundai Accent GLS. I am very due diligence with maintenance & have the receipts to support this. After 3 years of owning this vehicle, the engine oil light came on. I took it in every time the light appeared. A diagnostics was conducted by the dealership with no reason. A fuel filler was replaced to see if this was the issue but again, light kept coming on. I went to Hyundai Canada as my warranty was running out, only to be told this was my issue. I recently tried to do a trade in, but was penalize for the engine oil light that comes on, a issue the professionals could not diagnose. After purchasing a 2011 Sonata, I went back within a week with a steering problem - pulls to left at highway speeds. I left the car with them; the car still pulls to the left. I consider this a safety issue since more effort is required to keep the car tracking straight. Hyundai Motor Corporation is extremely uncooperative also, hoping that I would just give up through frustration.

I leased a Genesis 20 months ago. It took four months to get the lease payment correct even with dealer involvement. Then 20 months later, I get a notification that my payment is late (of which it was not and verified in my bank account) and that I owe $100 more than the payment I made on time? When I call Hyundai Finance, they tell me that is was because in June (its now Dec) my sales tax went up. They never said a word or sent anything to us in mail, email, call... nothing. We have been making the original payment all along without a problem. Six month later you send me a past due amount, tell me my tax went up over 5% six month ago and that I have been making the wrong payment? How is this possible. Finally, I ask to tell me the specifics of what tax and they have no idea and have the city I live in wrong - even though its the same as when I purchased the car? They tell me they dont have to notify me and maybe I will get a call back in three business days from a tax person if not call back.

My experience with Hyundai is the worst experience with a car company I’ve ever had and I’ve been leasing different cars for 25 years. I drove my 2021 Kona (top of the line) for 3032 miles before the entire transmission failed. I guess any car company can have a lemon in the batch so the fact that this car sucked isn’t what’s horrible about this story. It’s how Hyundai & Hyundai finance is treating me during the process of trying to return the car and get compensation back that’s hideous. They threatened my credit for a car I hadn’t had in months and made me continue to pay for it for months. They made me collect & turn in all the paperwork needed to get my case settled myself instead of helping and accessing their own records (copy of lease, payment records, etc.). Their entire computer/ website interface for customers fails every month and you have to call to get your profile erased so you can build another one… Only it remembers the email you used so every month you have to come up with a new email & hope this month their system for payment & account details doesn’t fail. They are offering me almost NOTHING back ($2300) even though I paid 1500 down & payments from September 2020-March 2021 at $367/month. They don’t even understand their own processes and told me that a significant amount of the money I am owed back for the car needed to be applied for at the dealership due to “separate contracts for alarm system, clear shield, & other aspects of the car’s system... But the dealership says that’s completely wrong. Oh ya, and every 30 days the paperwork I turned in expires & takes hours of effort on my part to resubmit. Do yourself a favor and RUN from Hyundai!

On January 8, 2012, I leased a 2012 Sonata. Today is January 21, 2012, the car has 460 miles on the odometer. Today is also the first snow day of the season. At 5 oclock this morning, while traveling approximately 20-25 mph on level ground, I was approaching a red light. The brakes locked and the car started sliding. I tried pumping them but kept sliding.Luckily there was no one in front of me. I released the brake while. sliding into the intersection so I could have more control of the vehicle, turning the corner to avoid incoming traffic. Ive been driving for 39 years, since I was 18 years old. I was not speeding. (To be continued, after a visit with service dept. at South Shore Hyundai / Valley Stream, NY)

This is my second winter with the Sonata. Whenever I put the heat or defroster on, I begin to choke and cough. There is something coming from the vents that is poisoning me. This also happens when the car is hot in the summer and I put the air conditioning on. Hyundai says it is my imagination. I think there is something in the duct work outgassing. Im about ready to go the CPSC. Other issues are the cheap tires, front cowling that is too low to part at most curbs and bumpers. BUT THE CHOKING IS GOING TO KILL ME. HYUNDAI ARE YOU OUT THERE???

In June 2011, I bought a Hyundai Elantra 3-year warranty. I was excited because it is just what I wanted. However, several problems started to occur. First, the indicator switch had to be replaced within the first 2 weeks. Second, after six months, we experienced screeching noises. I took it to a local dealer on various occasions. They replaced the break calliper and brake pads etc. but the noise still persisted. My husband said it was a release bearing but they did not agree. I took it to Johannesburg and after ten days, they agreed that it was the release bearing, which they replaced just before the warranty expired. This process took over a year. Third problem was the indicator switch was faulty again and it had to be replaced again. After the warranty expired, it had a knock in the engine, which they diagnosed as a valve lifter. We paid over R4,000 to have these replaced. The day we collected the car from the garage, there was an explosion, during which, 6 cars were burnt out, fortunately, mine was in the wash bay. There still was a noise in the engine. Two weeks later, when they had a temporary workshop, they gave me a quote for a further R15,000 for replacement of Chain Guide A & B, Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump etc. The even quoted for replacement of boot latch (very noisy boot) and still have to replace indicator switch.I am so disappointed. Everyone who I have been in contact with regarding the car has admitted that this should not be happening to a car that (at that stage) only had 60000 km on the clock, now R72750. None of the Elantra cars in Kimberley have similar problems. I spoke to a few of the owners personally. All I am asking for is a normal sounding car. I am embarrassed when people ask me why the car is so noisy, even my lady friends who do not have a clue anything about cars, are concerned.I am now waiting for them to repair the car and the parts have been ordered. They cannot carry out the repairs, as they are waiting for a part, which was shipped to SA and is taking forever. It was ordered weeks ago and their words are that it is taking so long because they have never needed to order a part of this nature before. My husband is a pensioner and does not drive like a maniac. He is a very careful driver.I am not a difficult person but I am so disillusioned. I love the Hyundai product and bought an Atos for my daughter years ago. She loves her car and never has any problems. To me, the Elantra we bought was a dud. The outside looks good but it is bad on the inside. I could write a book but am only focusing on the most important. We do not have the funds to buy a new car and we bought the car for R160,000 and the book value is now only R71,000. I implore you to attend to this complaint and not just ignore it. I am sure that if you were in my place you would feel the same. I have spoken to consumer services on numerous occasions but to no avail.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Engine Failure: 05/09, car stalls and will not start. 05/10, towed to local Hyundai dealer Northshore, Vancouver. Service Manager says before the vehicle arrives that it is probably because I do not change the oil. Service manager asks me to authorize payment to diagnose problem. I ask him why I would do that as the vehicle is still under warranty. Service manager says that they cannot proceed without authorization, and tells me the bill will be bigger if the engine has failed. I provide 3/6 service records with the last completed only 1 month before engine failure. Hyundai Canada denies warranty, no relief of cost due to lack of Maintenance. I have asked for all records and inspection criteria from Hyundai Canada and they have declined to provide. Talk to the garage. Its a great way to ensure no warranty is paid. Have Hyundai service garage charge the consumer/customer to prove that it was the consumers/customers fault. $228 for the diagnostic, $3500 for the engine, $1600 for the labor.

A lot of people are talking about the big lie Hyundai used to increase sales. I dont know if it came from Korea or the greedy US division came up with it, but I am very disappointed. Like some others, Im not as upset about the mileage as I am about feeling screwed. I work hard for my money and do a lot of research before I purchase a new vehicle. I owned a 2003 Sonata that made me feel they made a quality product. The 2011 Elantra was priced at $18,400 on their website, along with the $1,000 customer loyalty discount. It would be the perfect car for my 16-year-old daughter. When I got to the dealer, theyre in such demand (because of the mileage lie) I had to wait until June when the 2012s came out. Then they tacked on a $1,995 market parity adjustment and customer loyalty discount doesnt apply to the Elantra. So I paid $21,500. I feel like a sap. Every day when I go out to the driveway, I am reminded of how your company took advantage of me. When I took it in for the mileage check for the fuel debit card, I talked to the salesman about turning it in for another car. The dealer (Jenkins of Leesburg, Florida) has a Volkswagen lot next door. My daughter and I agreed to trade it in until we were told it was only worth $12,000. Wow, do I feel screwed? Will I ever buy another Hyundai? What do you think?

I purchased my 2013 Hyundai Elantra a few months ago with a remote car starter. I have had remote starters on my two previous vehicles. A remote car starter is a one-touch convenience which I depend upon specifically during the winter. The remote car starter was installed and when I picked up my new car, I was advised that in order to start the car with the remote, I must first press the lock button twice (lights will flash and horn will toot), and then press and hold the starter button. The remote is supposed to function within a range of 2500 feet. This is not a convenience. I have been able to start the car only a few times with the remote since then. Most times it does not start. If I am not close enough to the vehicle to see the lights flash or hear the horn toot, I have no idea whether it can actually be started. On occasion, I have even stood beside the car and tried to start it and nothing happens. This is absolutely ridiculous. I stopped by the dealership today and asked about having it removed. I was advised that it would cost me over $300 to have this done. Hyundai Canada has echoed this. I am furious. I want this starter removed and would have a simple one touch remote starter installed. This Hyundai remote starter is an expensive waste of my hard earned money. If I had known that this inconvenient type of remote starters was what they were installing, I would not have requested it.

Two months later, the car accelerated out of control while driving on a highway. I was able steer car onto a shoulder, while placing the car in neutral, yet the engine was revving out of control. The tachometer showed RPM was at 5! I turned off engine and waited for a few minutes and the car started without a problem.I brought it to transmission specialist who conducted a diagnostics check. They stated the problem was electrical within the gas pedal and throttle. The next day, I returned the car to the dealer. However, the car seized and had to get towed to the dealership. I was in a severe car accident last May. Hyundai tells me they are working directly with my insurance company and that the charges would be covered, not to worry and if there’s any problems they’ll contact me. With recovering from injuries, they give me no indication that I still have a balance from the crash that the insurance did not cover. They put me in a brand new car without even mentioning the thousands I’ve dollars I still owed. I was left in the dark. My credit score plummeted. I then find out through the credit bureau that I have a balance on my Hyundai account that was never dealt with. I call Hyundai and they tell me it’s my fault and I should have checked in with them. I explain to them I was told everything’s as being taken care of while I was being treated in the hospital and if anything was off that I would receive a call. They tell me I shouldn’t trust everything people say!!! No word of lie, that’s what they said to me. I’ll NEVER do business with Hyundai again. They do not care about their loyal customers at all. I was a Hyundai customer for almost 15 years. I really liked my 2015 Genesis and was looking to get another Hyundai potentially upon turning in my lease. The dealership I leased from called me constantly to bring my car in early and told me I could get a better lease. I went into the dealership and they had nothing to offer me for a better lease that was close to the car I had and in fact they were quoting me a $150/month more for a lesser vehicle! Even after I left the dealership without a deal the same dealership kept calling me to come in as if they didnt know that I had gone there already. Terrible service! On top of all that, I tried returning my lease after finding a better deal and service at a Mazda dealership. All the local dealerships refused to take my car in at first! Finally, after a variety of different calls I was able to get the closest dealer to take my car in. Such a ridiculous process that I would probably not lease another Hyundai again.

Neither front nor side airbags deployed, brakes froze (ABS didnt work) and ESC didnt work (received ESC recall notice after accident). It totaled the car. Passenger received lacerations due to glass breakage. Driver and passenger received bumps, bruises, sore neck and body parts. This is a huge safety concern. Hyundai Motor Finance is not an easy company to work with. We bought our Hyundai and the dealership had superb customer service. Those customer service expectations are obviously not universal when dealing with other entities of Hyundai. We pay our car payments on time every month. The online system did not process our online payment last month even though I got a confirmation number. Hyundai waited 3 weeks before notifying us that they had not received payment. I went online again and paid the payment. I followed up the next morning to verify payment was received. The customer service agent said it had not been. I went online and paid it again per her suggestion. Five days later, Hyundai takes out two payments for the same amount from my checking account. When asked if they could refund, they told me I had to get a letter from the bank, show transaction history, and wait roughly 7 days until the check was cut and sent to me. They can draft accounts but not credit them. I asked if they were going to take care of my late fees. The supervisor said she needed to review the past 3 calls that I had with Hyundai over the last 2 weeks to determine. It may take a few days for someone to get back to me. My complaint is that the customer service reps that I spoke with each time told me different information, and Hyundai does not believe the customer is always right; they believe they are right until proven otherwise, which penalizes the customer. Do not work with Hyundai Motor Finance. They have cost me fees, time, and money from missing hours at work, from having to chase down letters from the bank, only accepting faxed info, not email info and not being able to handle concerns over the phone. All complaints must be in writing.

My wife purchased a 2006 NEW Hyundai Sonata. We have always been avid AM News Listeners and from day 1 the radio was worse than Poor for AM. We complained and complained and all they ever said was that the antenna in the rear window was a poor design for an antenna and that was the problem. Well, my wife just purchased a New 2014 Hyundai Sonata and I took the 2006 - since I drive far less miles annually - and now I was determined to get to the problem. When I would drive the car sometimes going over a bump on the road would instantly increase the radios reception but it would last then go back to crappy again. Sometimes as I would start the car and back out of the garage the reception would be great - then 5 minutes later it was back to crap. One day, in the garage, as I was backing out - the reception was jumping back and forth from Poor - Good - Poor to Good - so I whacked the dashboard over the radio with my hand and there was DEAD SILENCE. I turned the car off and then back on and the radio came on but with the typical Weak reception.I purchase the Haynes/Chilton Auto Repair Guide, for the 2006 Hyundai as well a CD Hyundai Shop Manuals, and watched several YouTube videos on how to remove the radio. With the radio removed and exposed - but connected - I started wiggling/moving the antenna cable around and sure enough the reception would go to Great - Poor - and NONE. As I was holding the radio with one hand and changing the station with the other hand I also noticed that if my hand squeezed or put pressure on the top and bottom of the radio - on the Antenna connection side - (in order to hold the radio) the Reception might also go from Great to Poor to None.I could see that the antenna cable connector was CHEAP looking with the center core of the cable soldered - but the Ground wires were crimped and DID NOT look there was a good connection. So I went to Radio Shack and purchased another Motorola Antenna Connector and re-did the connection to the cable. With the radio still exposed and the antenna cable connected with the new Radio Shack connector the radio sounded great. And squeezing didnt seem to have any effect as before. So I put the radio back in and left the pods on the sides of the radio disconnected - temporarily. The measured depth of the New Radio Shack Connector was slightly Longer than the original Cable Connector so it was putting some pressure on the cable and the connection and the radio began to act -up again when installed so I removed the radio (which removed the pinching pressure on the cable) and the radio worked fine.So now it is possible that there is a bad connection, internally, on the Female part of the Antenna cable connection to the radio. I tested the continuity for the Ground and hot points to the cable connection - while I had the radio out and they tested OK - but the test was not under a pressure stress, either. So the bottom line is that Hyundai Continues to LIE and ** about the AM Radio Problems with the 2006 Sonatas. Unlike the most recent excuse from Hyundai Service at Lester Glenn in Toms River, New Jersey, the problem is NOT with the Rear Window-Designed Antenna - its the cheap Connectors, Crappy Radios and the ** Service people who dont want to do their job of fixing your car under warranty. My wife took out the 100,000 miles / 10 year Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty with Hyundai when she bought the car so now - After 6-8 Hours of MY TIME and the expenses to buy workshop materials - I am going to raise Hell with Hyundai USA!

Elantra 2012. Made regular maintenance at the Agent every 5000 km. (12 times, now 55000). Went for a vacation & when I was back, suddenly no AC. Went to the agent and I was told that the AC has to be replaced all compressor, expansion valve, ... etc. I am 8 months after the warranty. The question is: if the regular maintenance doesnt protect your car from a sudden big problem (temperature here is around 49°C), why I have to do it? Either the car is junk and this is the normal lifespan, OR I was deceived by the agent just to pass the warranty and fix it CASH.

I have booked a Santro Xing (GLS) on 09/29/2011 with a scheme (insurance & registration free with accessories) from BM Hyundai, Dehradun (Uttranchal). On Oct. 24th, 2011, I have visited the dealer after discussing with sales representative to take the car. Firstly, they made me wait from 15:45 to 20:40. Hours later on, they told me that the scheme on which I had booked the car wont be provided now as the scheme has changed. I told them that I have the receipt of the advance booking amount but they were not ready to listen. Moreover, they asked me to deposit extra 2000 bugs for that scheme with it. They havent provided me corporate discount of rs.2000. Moreover, the manager was not ready to meet/talk to me. After all, I have left the corporate discount and picked the car. They told me that 3.5 liters of petrol is in tank, so I moved towards my home which is about 10 kms. away. On the midway, the car stopped where there was no petrol pump nearby and I was alone. Somehow I managed to get help from a stranger at around 21:30. I called the SR who was dealing with me but I got no appropriate response. I am really disappointed with the pre-sales 7 after sales service. Later on I realize that I have done a mistake by taking a Hyundai car.

I have never, in my life, been treated so rudely. Their customer service rep hung up on me. I thought she had all the information that she needed and gone to find out. The next day when I was expecting my paperwork to be where it was supposed to, it was not. So when I called back the next day, upset that my paperwork had not been transferred, the rep on the phone was once again rude. The rep promised my paperwork would be there in 1-2 hours, and it was never done on time. Not only is this now costing me money, but I was treated horribly as well. And with an interest payment of 20% on a car, they should invest money in training their reps.

Single mother of 3 small children. Barely scraping by only to have my Hyundai that is still under warranty blow the engine. Drop it off at dealership and was told a week till they could look at it. It’s been a month! And $1400 in rental car fees that I don’t have! Now I am completely without a vehicle and NO ONE, not consumer affairs, case manager, service dept itself can give me at the very least an ETA on when I can have my car back. Pathetic way to run a company. The guy who sold me this lemon at Hyundai of Fort Myers, the people refusing to call me back at Gainesville Hyundai and Corporate Hyundai who basically just say “I’m sorry” but have no solution. I want to thank you for putting my job on the line and leaving me and my kids stranded. I will never buy another Hyundai again!!

It was giving me problems, take the car to blah blah dealership and Im told I have no oil in car. I asked why my sensors never came on.. no one knows. Hyundai swears they have never had this problem before but after reading these reviews I beg to differ. Oh and I also voided my service warranty but no one can tell me exactly why.

The controller on my rear seat air conditioner failed. The dealer (Gentile Hyundai) ordered the part on July 12, 2011. Today is September 6, 2011, and we still do not have the part, not withstanding that in our part of the country we have record heat. The service department person (Candice) has done a great job in keeping me informed when I called, but Hyundai corporate office apparently does not have to deal face-to-face with the customer. Obviously, they have a different set of customer relation values.I am now retired, but for the last 24 years of my work career, I served as CEO of various manufacturing companies. A few of these were involved with the automotive market. At no time would I or any of my executives (or any associate for that matter) be allowed to even suggest, to a customer that we could not deliver a part or parts to them in a reasonable period of time. The idea that no reasons are given for this delay, or any suggestion when it may arrive is absolutely outrageous. This is my first Hyundai, 2008 Vera Cruz AWD Limited. It could very well be my last, and I am not shy about sharing experiences, both good and bad. This is not meant to be any form of threat, only a complaint from a very unsatisfied customer who expects better. The fact that I even waited this long to register this complaint should make it clear to you that Im not a whiner. Wheres my part?

My car was rear-ended by someone. I took my car so the rear bumper and other stuff that may have happened due to the accident be fixed. The day before I took it in, the brake light and the battery light came on. I was able to drive home. The next day the car wouldnt start. I called my insurance company and they sent roadside assistance. I was able to drive to the dealership. I explained what happened. I told them I spoke to someone. I gave them the name of the person. When they are done with the body shop part, and the insurance fixes whatever they needed to do, take it to the body shop and I will pay for it. Instead they changed the battery at the body shop. I picked up my car, and the lights are still on. I told them and I asked if it’s going to stall on me because I work 38.2 miles away. They said the battery is changed, the car is probably adjusting to the new battery, it wont stall - you should be good. I picked up the car this morning, lights still on, everything is driving good. Got almost to my destination and the whole electrical system went haywire. The gas gauge went from half tank to empty and the odometer disappeared. The speed gauge was in side to side directions. The car started buffering. Thankfully and praying like crazy, I got to the parking area. Turned the car off. To make a long story short, I had to pay half the expense of a towing company to get me back to the dealership. All of this could have been avoided if they had listened to me and just take the car to the service area.

My first experience was when I received the recall notice for my 2006 Sonata about the airbags sensor for front passenger seat. I had Sports Durst in Durham check it when I took it in for service (been a while back) and was told nothing was wrong. Later, when someone over 90 lbs was sitting in seat, the airbag light would indicate that it was turned off. I took it to Crenshaw Hyundai in Burlington where they checked it. They confirmed it was faulty and mailed my seat to California for service. Now, my airbag light is back on again and was told by Crenshaw Hyundai that since it had been repaired, the recall work is no longer under warranty. It seems after reading all these complaints that it would not do any good to have it repaired because the majority says the light comes back on or the airbags failed to deploy in accidents or just deployed for no reason. I use to like Hyundais but after this I will never own another one nor recommend them.

I purchased a 2006 Hyundai Sonata in December 2010. A month later, the airbag light on the dash came on. I took it back and they re-set something. I drove off and about a mile down the road, the light came back on. I took it back and was told the problem was the PSGR seat cushion, and would cost $900.00 to fix. The warranty I bought did not cover this and the dealership would not fix it. I was not about to spend more money on this car, so I have just been driving with the light on. I started doing some research and found that there was a recall on 2006 Sonata for its airbag. I called and was told my 2006 was not part of that recall, yet its a 2006 Sonata; I dont get it.

I have owned three Hyundai cars, all have been new cars under warranty. I have only had to taken them in for mechanical issues less than ten times. I have never been told by a Hyundai service department that if they find that the problem is not a warranty issue, like a rat chewing through a wire, or hitting a curb and knocking something loose, that I will be responsible for paying over $100 for them taking time to look at my car, whether they fix the issue or not. I can understand the cost of fixing the issue, but not the cost of just looking at it. I can understand if I was bring in a 2001 Toyota. But I am bringing in a Hyundai to a Hyundai dealership while under warranty. It is implied that while under warranty the dealership for that brand of car will check your car when it has mechanical issues for free, and if it isnt a warranty issue, charge you for the repairs. I mean they sure do talk up how good having a warranty is when they talk you into buying that 10 year 100,00 mile extended bumper to bumper warranty, but if you want to get it looked at, you better bring $200, just in case the problem isnt under warranty. Because whether they fix it or not you’re paying. This was my experience at North Freeway Hyundai in Houston TX. The service consultant Bruce ** didnt even test drive my car to see if he felt what I was feeling, until he first told me that just to look at my car, I basically need to have the money to pay just in case it isnt a warranty issue.

Recently, my brakes began failing on my 50k mile Genesis coupe. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as a HECU failure similar to the basis of a recall on Genesis sedans. There are other similar failures noted on the NTSB website and various websites. I called Hyundai as the problem is a design defect. Their only response was to tell me that they wont do anything because my warranty is up. In the past, a fire hazard in Sonatas that was the subject of a recall was fixed by setting the cars to stop working if there is danger of fire. Hyundai is not a dependable car, or company and puts its drivers at risk.

I bought a car from Hyundai in 2018 Of September. I have had this car for not even 7 months. Bought it with 7k miles on it and I’ve never missed a payment and was always a valued customer with my parents always owning one too. So when I bought the vehicle it had no recalls on it, one day I saw something online about recalls so I ran my vin to see if my car was part of the recall and it was and the recall was for the ECM, so I taken my car to Hyundai in Manassas, Virginia and got the recalled fixed. They told me all is good and my car is ready to go.Two weeks later my car goes into limp mode and won’t go over 20 miles a hour, I called the dealership nearest to me and asked them to take my car in and the one I called was Hyundai in Woodbridge, Virginia. They said they would not take me because my car was not purchased there, even though this fell under a warranty recall, so I called Fairfax Hyundai Virginia and they said that I could bring it in. Well I waited 4 hours for a tow truck and it finally got there and we headed to the dealership. I get there and waited 2 more hours for someone to run a test on my car to see what was wrong with it and it came back as I needed a new engine. Being told I need a new engine I was put in a rental car for about 3 months and I waited and waited and called at least once a week for an update. Felt like I couldnt get anything out of them besides, It’s still on back order.Well finally I get a call from the dealership saying I did not need a new engine, and all it was is a wiring harness. So I waited 3 months thinking I was getting a new engine and all I got was a new harness. Well finally I picked up my car that day they called. Returned the rental and I was heading home down I-95 in Virginia going 70 down the interstate my car completely shuts down on me and wouldnt turn back on. So I was able to safely pull over with my niece in the car with me, I got to the side of the road and called them again to explain what happen. Well they asked if I could bring it back in so I did. My car then stalled out and went into limp mode 8 more times on my way 45 minutes back to the dealership.I drop the car off and the dealership ran it over the weekend and I get a call back on a Monday and they tell me they couldnt find the problem and nothing was wrong with the car. I get back in my car look at the mileage and it was exactly the same from when I brought it in, knowing that I am now mad. My wife and I with a baby in the car refuses to drive the car and I’ve had it parked at our house. After contacting Hyundai America and speaking with someone named Anthony I asked nicely for them to take this death trap away from me and he said that he would do a case for me and he would keep me updated. Well that was 2 weeks ago today, I still havent heard from him and I’ve called multiple times a day for a long time and it goes straight to voicemail. I’ve left countless voicemails and still no response. I personally would never recommend Hyundai to even my worst enemy after the experience I have had with you all and I will never own another in my life.

My vehicle has less than 5000 miles. We were leaving lunch at a restaurant about 25 miles from our home and the car developed a sound in the right front fender, well like something rubbing.and I pulled over to check. The plastic fabric that lines the underside of the right front wheel well had come loose and was dragging on the road. I called Hyundai on road service and they were going to send a car carrier and haul my car to Newnan Georgia 18 miles farther in the other direction to a Hyundai dealer. I was in a school entrance so I then pulled up and I assume the tire ran over the plastic fabric and pulled it loose. I got out and picked up the piece about 12 inches by 8 inches. I noticed the rest of the lining under the wheel well was loose and was being held by a groove in the edge of the fender. The right front fender was separated from the bumper and I was able to push the lining back inside the groove and with the palm of my I tapped on the side where the fender and bumper connected and the two pieces stayed together. I checked and a Hyundai dealer was within 12 miles of my home, I called Hyundai road recovery back and told them I could drive the vehicle to the Hyundai dealer in McDonough, Georgia. We drove to the dealer in McDonough and was told by maintenance that the vehicle was involved in a wreck. I questioned this and was then told that the one (1) mechanic to handle Hyundai vehicles said to take it to their body shop. The maintenance supervisor then indicated that the right front bumper had been hit and it looked like a vehicle in a parking lot had hit the right front fender. When I questioning this he said even a shopping cart in a shopping lot could have hit the bumper and separated the fender from the bumper. We took the vehicle to the body shop and the supervisor said the vehicle was not involved in a wreck. He looked under the right front fender and said he thought the fender separated from the right front side of the bumper after the clips that hold the fender to the bumper had snapped. The fender and the bumper showed no outward scratches or dents. He said Hyundai would not consider the separation of the fender from the bumper to be under warranty. He stated the fender clips could not be repaired and the fender could not be reattached to the bumper instead the bumper would have to be replaced as well as the underside of the wheel well. The estimate would be in excess of $1,400.00. I purchased the vehicle for its looks, warranty and its history of reliability. What else can I expect to fall apart on this vehicle? The vehicle looks like it is very cheaply made and Hyundai has cut corners in the materials used in the assembly of the vehicle. I dont feel safe in the vehicle. I made a mistake moving from Toyota to Hyundai.

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Tucson on Jan 2018 with only 50k miles on it and in great condition. I have kept up with the regular services. Last week with just over 100k miles (right after the warranty expired) a huge hole blew in my engine while I was driving 70mph down the highway. I had an oil change two weeks prior, so thought maybe they messed something up, but I had the car towed into a shop and they said there was still oil in the engine but there was a huge hole, indicating that it was faulty manufacturing. But since the warranty expired, I am out of luck. I went online to see if there is anything I can do, only to find out that tons of other 2012 Tucson drivers have experienced the same exact thing happening and that there is a class action lawsuit against Kia and Hyundai, but that this particular year of Tucson was not included. I had the engine recall service at Hyundai back on Oct 2019 and kept up with oil changes. This is clearly a manufacturer issue and they need to take responsibility to fix these models as well. I will be looking into how to get these models included in the lawsuit, or start a new one. I thought these were good cars, but now see that they are not made well and arent safe at all.

On Oct 24th 2018 I activated my Blue Link via a dealer. I was given 3 months test of the system on my 2014 Equus. The next day I tried to use the system but it was not active. I called the service and told me 24 to 48 hours to get to my system. After the 48 hour mark the system still not activated. I called again on the 25th then the 26th still not activated. I was instructed to drive around to see of it would help, but nothing. When I called again on the 27th they apologized for the inconvenience but nothing they could do till a day or more passed. Upon calling on the 28th still not activated. Called again on the 29th and they apologized and gave me an extra month free to try the service. I was told it should be up any time. By end of day on the 29th still not working. On the 30th of Oct, I was told my service could not be started till the previous owner service was deactivated as I was told it was not fully deactivated in their name. They would need to deactivate my account and the original owners account before my service could work. After an hour on the line I was told they would call within 2 hours to let me know it was complete and my service turned on. I called after 3 hours and was told my account was cancelled and would need to be charged 279.00 to turn it on as I cancelled my trial. I was livid as I explained that the tech cancelled my service not me, and I wanted my service trial back because it was never turned on. Going back and forth they told me nothing could be done and we went around for an hour plus. No matter what I told them I would not get my service trial back. They directed me to call another number to complain, when calling the other number was told it was not a complaint line but another Blue Link center. I was lied to and cheated out of my service trial and fully pissed off they did this to me. Ive never been treated so badly by a company in my 50 years of life on this planet. Being lied to, is appalling by anyone. This company could care less about customer service. I was never disrespectful toward anyone on the phone, just in case you wondered. I was upset but not overly. I was so upset and confused by their actions. They never offered me a solution. Horrible in my eyes.

This is in regards to the Sonata that we had purchased. I want to start off
This is in regards to the Sonata that we had purchased. I want to start off by stating how extremely upset I am of how the entire experience has been since day one! We were mistreated and screwed due to negligence and lack of communication between dealership and the Hyundai Finance department when processing our loan to be financed. I have never dealt with such miscommunication on a very important investment purchase. I have contacted Hyundai Dealership and Finance center for the whole month of December, January, February and now March via email, phone and mail.I have over and over explained and have provided proof of documents that included harassing statements and letters that we were not qualified and we were required to return the vehicle immediately for the entire month of December and January (totaling a number of 4 letters)! We made numerous attempts to get in contact with assigned Financial Representative who was taking care of our loan and was also instructed per letters received as the main contact person. I have copies of all logged phone calls, emails, letters and conversations that were placed regarding this issue and after all the numerous attempts to have someone help us with Hyundais error created by Hyundai. We never received any management nor representative help ever, except one original email from Kyle ** (assigned financial rep) requesting that we provide additional income statements early in December, for Brandon **.I emailed Kyle and requested further explanation of what was going on regarding our loan funding because we had received letters from him and the agency stating we were declined. And now, here he is requesting additional income? I never ever received a response back from him nor call back or help from management in Hyundai dealership as no one was communicating if we were approved or not. Putting us in a dark room and no communication from anyone, I had requested that HR from our current employers would reach out to Kyle to verify any income information he needed so that the loan would be funded. Shortly after that request, I was informed per Human Resources representative at my company that they provided Kyle with all requested documentation and verified our income upon request. They also stated that they asked for several confirmation requests that verified all documents they had provided met underwriting guidelines for the loan and they never received a confirmation or response as well. In between that time, we received additional letters stating that we were still not qualified and other letters requesting the return of the vehicle immediately. After I realized that we would not get anywhere, holidays were now ruined because of this process and caused tremendous hardship to our family as we were forced to go purchase an additional vehicle after receiving declined letters and no communication Hyundai. After the purchase of the additional vehicle I was forced to buy, the 2013 Hyundai Sonata purchased was currently located in the dealership shopping center body shop after a car accident took place in between the 30-day period the car was in our possession. But is now not in our possession. We lost money in purchasing another vehicle as we were led to believe that we did not qualify. The first statement was sent to us towards the last days of January, it was dated way after the agreed first payment of Jan 5. So I called Hyundai Finance and was told we were qualified after all! I requested to speak to a supervisor as it was explained that the loan was not funded until Jan. 5th (way past the date loan should have been funded). Management had stated that the loan had to be rebooked due to Hyundai submitting loan approval late and incorrect.I then reached out to Hyundai Dealership and was finally contacted by Kyle and told that he and the manager were unable to do anything (which was the complete opposite of what Hyundai finance stated)! I then had stated I wanted my January payment waived per Hyundais error and all the money I have now lost due to this error. I stated I was still willing to keep car and make payments but needed that to be corrected - it was so simple and I was tossed around by Kyle and told they could do anything. I then spoke to management from Hyundai Finance on Feb. 19 and was told by management after I had explained the situation that they were going to make arrangements to amend the loan current and I was told they were going to remove my phone numbers from their system to avoid future collection calls. All my phone numbers were removed except for my work phone which I had told collection rep that they need to look at notes for Feb. 19 and reference. They stated that management never inputted notes. I am fed up by now. All this lying and mistreatment for no reason has now led me to anxiety and stress health issues that have now been noticed by my primary doctor and I was prescribed medical drugs in order to be able to handle the stress this has caused my family and me. I have had to come out of pocket on fees and deductibles for the repairs of 2013 Sonata due to me now being approved for loan, therefore making me responsible. I am not happy and think that there has to be an immediate solution to the inconvenience! Our lawyers suggestion is to return as requested per written notices and void all sales transaction deal per original mailed correspondence.I have proof of all attempts I tried and several people on my end had tried to make this process flow smoothly ... but it seems to have now gotten out of hand due to the irresponsibility and miscommunication within Hyundai company. This has now affected our credit and I am forced to take this to litigation and recover from all costs of damages and stress encountered from this entire process. I am requesting that someone step up to the plate as an associate from Hyundai, if you are reading this, to show some kind of respect for the rights of the consumer. Unfortunately, we live in a world that is so cold-hearted and full of effortless people who like the easier route of not going the extra mile for the customer, when dealing with their day to day job. But who is to forget, that customer could be you a couple of days from now; another company - another service. How would you like to be treated? Will you be that different associate? I say all of this with the hope that someone at Hyundai hears me and my familys plea of financial hardship this all has caused us, including rent being behind- having to degrade myself by sharing my situation on comment online complaint forms and to emails of candidates that have just glanced on my case and tossed to the side. How fair is this? I am a customer that all Ive asked for is a simple January payment to be adjusted due to company error and now I am forced to file litigation suit. Can I please get fair treatment and advice on who can fix all this issue for good and avoid further unnecessary actions?

My 2013 Hyundai Elantras engine failed early November 2017. I took the car to Sansone car dealer where they agreed the engine needed to be replaced due to sludge build up/engine failure. Hyundai motors refused to pay and referred me to BBB telling me they would honor BBB DECISION. Once I provided BBB with information I was told I did not qualify because I had more than 60,000 miles on my car. I again argued with Hyundai motors but they said I was to blame because of lack of care, sludge. I have been a car owner more than 30 yrs and have never had this type of problem! Disgusted Hyundai customer!

All of the cars I had looked at were either too expensive or a piece of junk. When I finally came across the Hyundai, I took it. It was the best-looking one and was also a reasonable price. I purchased it from a private seller because I needed a car because I was moving away from home soon. I like the cars accelerator and it can take off fast. On the other hand, the breaks are bad and need improvement. You have to pump the brakes hard for the car to fully stop. It also keeps having problems with the headlight that it keeps going out and the power steering is always going awry. It also used to have very good gas mileage, but now it seems to eat its own gas. Also, the seats are not very comfortable and the stereo system could be much better sounding in terms of sound quality. I am looking to sell this car one day and buy a better one.

DO NOT LEASE FROM HYUNDAI. They have the worst customer service skills. 9+ weeks waiting for a response to get my registration renewal. It’s out since March and is nearly 1st June still nothing from them. Every day for a solid 5 weeks I called. I spoke to so many employees and managers every day. They told me a different lie every time, stay away from these guys. After reading reviews it seems they are known for stuff like this. Also I called the dealer in Norwood MA and they too did not respond to any of my calls. Finally today I received my registration and decal thanks to my insurance company. They requested a duplicate. If anyone else is having the same problem call your insurance company for help. I cannot wait until my lease is up so I never gotta deal with these guys again.

My check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 & 1/2 months. I took it to the dealership and they told me it was not covered under my extended warranty, which make no sense to me. They said this is because I was not the original owner, since I bought it used & bought the extended warranty, it was not covered. I have spent more time at the dealership whether it was in Illinois or Colorado than I have with any other car that I have owned. The total cost is $119.47.

My 2012 Sonata - I have 18,000 miles on my car that I bought last February. I paid $30,000 for the car and I already need 4 new tires. I would not have purchased the car had I known this. The dealership (Washington, PA) said they put junk tires on it to get the best test drive performance. This is unacceptable that I had to spend $500 9 months after spending 30 grand on the car.

In February 2010, I bought a new 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring from a RT.44 Hyundai dealership in Raynham, Massachusetts. I was very pleased with the vehicle, still am. Here is the issue: About a week ago, I came out to the Touring and noticed that the passenger side front bumper cover was just hanging on and was no longer attached to the fender. I looked to see why it wasnt attached and saw that the tab from the bumper cover that secures it to the fender on the inside had completely sheared off from the inside of the bumper cover. It was not broken, chipped, or cracked it was sheared completely off in a straight line the whole tab. I had an oil change scheduled the next day with RT.44 Hyundai. When I arrived, I informed my service adviser about the bumper problem.Later when I went to pick the vehicle up, I was informed by the service adviser that RT.44 Hyundai would not cover the replacement of the bumper cover due to the fact that the mechanic found two hairline scratches that never even broke through the clear coat on that side of the bumper cover. These scratches that I had never seen before where so small and light they look like it was made by a tree branch or something and would buff out with compound and a towel. There was no other damage around the surrounding area at all. This was the reason they stated why they would not cover it under the warranty. I then asked to speak to a service manager and brought him out to see the vehicle and showed him the bumper cover. When we walked out to the vehicle, it was drizzling rain and I showed him the cover and let him look it over. He never once mentioned even seeing any scratches around the area. He wasnt made aware of them until we went back inside and he brought my information up on his computer and saw what the mechanic had written. He then stated it would cost me in excess of $1,000 to have the bumper replaced. Im a single mother and do not have the financial resources to lay out that kind of money.I then sent an email to Consumer Affairs of Hyundai of America and was instructed by them to bring my vehicle to another Hyundai dealership for them to look at it. I brought the vehicle to another Hyundai dealer (the closest being 20 miles away). They put the vehicle on the lift and validated everything I was stating on a work order, that no damage was found to cause that bumper tab to snap off the way it did. So now with this in hand, I felt pretty good about my chances of getting the bumper cover replaced under warranty. I contacted Consumer Affairs again and told them of the outcome and that I had gotten a work order from that dealership confirming everything I was stating. The T2 supervisor from Consumer Affairs then told me I would have to go back to the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and rehash it out with them as she stated they had no authority to tell a dealership to honor the warranty. I had done everything they asked me to do at my expense just to have them tell me that I would have to argue with the original dealership over it again. I have kept all the emails correspondences with Consumer Affairs of Hyundai and the work order from the other dealership. So as of today, Im driving around with my front bumper cover held on by tape. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

If you are reading this - Please do not finance with this company. About 3 years ago, a mistake on their end (on their website) returned my payment. The excuse they gave me was we only had the last four digits of your account number and therefore could not process your payment. Well, the entire account number was there, but the digits in front were shown as Xs, so my account number looked like this - XXXXXXXXXXX-0000. When I explained to them this was the issue, they reversed the late fee. You would think after this that the company would fix the issue.Well, this happened again recently in the beginning of April (2014). I was given the same excuse. They reversed the fee. I then made another payment (for two months). I made sure the account number, routing number, and checking number were absolutely correct (even have an email confirmation with all the information on it). This payment didnt go through again, and this time they will not reverse the fee. I repeatedly asked them for the reason why the payment did not go through. First I was told insufficient funds. Then I was told only last four digits were available. Then I was told the account number was wrong. When I repeatedly asked them for what account number they were given for the returned payments, they said they didnt have it on file. So how do you know it was wrong if you cant even check it in the first place? After several emails and phone calls, and a phone call with a supervisor named John, they absolutely refused to waive the returned payment fee. After the first payment was returned in early April, Hyundai Motor Finance should have immediately told me if something went wrong with the second payment (instead of waiting to hit me with a late fee/returned payment fee). Nothing showed on their website until AFTER they hit me with yet another fee. This is a real shame since Im happy with Hyundai Motors of America and my local dealership. However, if the dealerships are urging people to finance with this company, they too should be held accountable for poor customer service. They are refusing to do anything further. This issue is not resolved. To everyone reading this, avoid financing with this company. They truly do not care about their customers.

In February, I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Ltd. I was looking for an efficient, low MPG car and was pleased to hear that Hyundai offered a car with up to 40 MPGs highway. I dont feel that I do get the best mileage for combined city/highway, but this is not my issue. Last month on September 8, 2011, I hit a pothole. I called AAA and was informed by them that I had to be towed because there was no spare. I was shocked. I had to be towed, waited for the Mobile station to order a tire and was 1 hour late for work. I have found that the Continental, low-profile tires do not stand up to wear and tear, as my 2001 Honda Civic did. I had to change the tire because of a bubble and then had to change the tire because of the pothole. I am upset, not only because of the poor performance of the tires, but the main issue is that Hyundai misrepresents the product by not informing people that they are purchasing a car that does not come with a spare or a donut. They also do not cover towing with their road-side service. If I had not had AAA, I would have had to pay. I ended up with different tire, than the Continentals because they were not available, so I have an odd tire, all because I could not wait to have the car repaired. I called Advantage Hyundai in Bethpage, Long Island and was informed that the Hyundai Elantra no longer comes with a spare and only has a pump with some sort of sealant. They also told me that the spare would cost $380 if I wanted to order it and it was on back-order (could it be that others want a spare as well?).I understand this is a new trend in auto manufacturing (Chevy is doing the same), but my contention is that this should be made aware to the prospective purchaser of the car and told that a spare was an option and that the weight of the tire would bring down the MPGs for the vehicle. I find that this is fraudulent advertising, since the reason they can get up to 40 mpg for the Elantra is because they eliminated the weight of the spare tire. Now, I was lucky. I could have been somewhere up in the mountains, where I had no cell service and needed to change my own tire. What would I have done then? This could be dangerous. I have read articles claiming changing a tire on the road is dangerous, but if you are in the middle of nowhere, then what? I dont think that I should have to pay for a spare. I have contacted the customer service online from Hyundai and have been told that I need to go to my Hyundai dealer to buy a new tire and then they will determine if I should get a credit for it. I find this unacceptable.I have only had this car since February and have a lease for more than two years. I have not saved money on the gas and have spent a lot on tires. I dont want to be towed again. It is upsetting and there is no way I can break my lease. What are my options? I am sure that others have this problem, as well. I have asked people that I have seen in the street if they were informed about the missing spare and they have told me that they did not know that they didnt have one. I really need to resolve this. This is the first year that auto manufacturers are doing this no-spare thing and I think that I had a right to be told. I may not have taken the car and gotten stuck with this lease.

I bought a new Hyundai Sonata in 2012. I bought the extended warranty due to driving 20 miles to work each day. I have had my oil changed every 3000 miles. My car started using oil after about 100,000. I took it to the dealership, and they said they would have to do oil consumption. I went through this for 3 oil changes. They said it was using oil, but not enough to hurt. The dealership said the car had to be using a quart of oil per 1000 miles in order for them to be concerned. I was not satisfied with this answer, so I called to complaint line at Hyundai with no better results. My car is now using a quart of oil every 1400 miles. It will soon be out of warranty. Very unsatisfied with Hyundai.

I bought my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT based on the reputation, look of the car and the estimated mileage. I had previously owned an all wheel drive car - the handling of which was fabulous but was unhappy with the mileage (20 city/25 highway). The Elantras estimated 27/37 mpg was worth giving up excellent handling. Initially my mileage was 23/28 with the Hyundai and so I waited a few months thinking the car needed to be broken in. Now, a year later, I am still only getting approximately 24mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. I complained to the service department in September and they agreed to test the mileage.Heres what happened at the test: I topped off the tank 1/4 mile from the dealer and delivered a filled-to-capacity tank. They then drove the car 40 miles and then refilled the tank with 1.089 gallons determining that my car gets 36.73 miles per gallon. Knowing that was impossible, I drove immediately to the same filling station and put an additional .615 gallons in the tank, topping it off. Obviously, their idea of topping it off and mine were very different. With the additional .615 gallons, the mileage would have been determined correctly at 23.52 which was just about what I have been getting. When I called and asked them about it, they couldnt understand my point and stood by their test. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs who spoke to the dealership and determined that there was no more they could do at that point unless I wanted pay for a test at another dealership. I was unwilling to do that if the first test had already proven to MY satisfaction that the mileage I had been getting all along was all I was going to get and another dealer, when contacted, said they would just take the mileage reading from the cars gauge to determine mpg. The gauge always shows 2-3 mpg better than what I actually get and is still nowhere need their estimated 27/37. I knew Hyundai had been fined for overestimating mpg in the past and in fact have a program of reimbursement because so many people have complained about the misrepresentation of mpg so I actually thought that meant I could trust their estimated mpg because they would not want to be found lacking in that area again. However, that is clearly not the case. At this point I feel I have no recourse except to register my complaint and hope something can be done to my satisfaction.

I have a 2012 Genesis Coupe 3.8 loaded.. leather interior, etc... The car is only 2.5 years old. The back seat leather started to fade about a year after I bought the car. The front seats started to fade and rip about the same time. I had to give the service dept. bad rating in order to get their attention. They agreed to repair the back seats but refuse to repair the front seats. Im the only one in the car 95% of the time. Ive owned many cars with leather interior. Ive NEVER had such experience where the interior quality is so poor that it falls apart on its own. Im so frustrated with them that Im ready to trade the car in and get something else. This car has been sub-standard in quality and overall value. I would recommend that you stay away from this make until they cleanup their act. Very disappointed.

I slid off the road and called roadside assistance. I had been pulled out about a month ago, also. This time they said they would not pay for being pulled out. We have had a severe winter and have had a lot of ice and snow. On the Hyundai advertising it says, 5 years unlimited roadside assistance, with 24/7, 365 day service. The roadside assistance representative said they recently changed their rules. (Almost a year after I purchased my 2013 Sonata) I talked to representative **. She never told me what rule they changed. I told her they couldnt change the rules retroactively. She said they could and did so. She referred me to the towing service subcontractors. (Cross Country Motor Club) The motor club informed me that the car had to be less than 10 feet from the road, to be pulled back onto the road. I asked him who made that new rule and they could not tell me that. I told them that if a car slid into the ditch, it would be 10 feet from the highway 90% of the time, and that would make roadside assistance unusable 90% of the time. I threatened to go public to the internet and also press a possible lawsuit. My car is well within the 10-foot rule. They still refused. I’m handicapped and a senior citizen. The roadside assistance was a major reason why I purchased the car. Now, Hyundai is going back on their word. I started to call my dealer and before I could talk to him, a towing company called and said they would be at my place within 2 hours. I called the towing company and asked if Hyundai was paying for it and they said yes. Hyundai previously said they would call to get me help, but I would be charged $170.00. I dont think that any customer should put up with a company that treats its customer in the above manner.

We leased a new 2016 Hyundai in December 2016 and had nothing but trouble with the lease from the very beginning. Our Santa Fe was leased from a dealership in Colorado. We had no trouble on a previous lease but this time the communication between the leasing company and the dealership was horrible. The salesmen on the floor were using filthy language and the finance person didnt send the paperwork and our payment up front in for almost 60 days. Hyundai leasing called us to tell us we were late on our payment when we had not received any paperwork yet to make a payment. We set up payments through our bank and about 14 months later after the finance company did an update on their software they called again to tell us we hadnt paid our payment and our bank had not accepted the payment. We had received a confirmation number on the payment. The finance company was ready to ** us. Then I had them look at the bank info on their end. IT WAS INCORRECT!!! Our account showed no change(?). Again they fixed it and apologized to us. We couldnt wait to bring the lease back this December which by the way, was in EXCELLENT condition and 7,000 miles below what the millage of 30,000 miles. The dealership tried to sell us the car but we just turned it in. They had us sign a paper (which we never got a copy of) and said that was it and we could leave. Today we got a bill telling us we still owed $433.00 to bring the car in at the end of the lease that we were still responsible for the final payment and if there was any damage to car we turned in-we would be billed for that (???) plus a late fee if they didnt get the $433.00 in 15 days. Good grief! I had thought it was OK to drop our auto insurance when we turned it in!! What if they sold the car or were allowing people to test drive it?? We called Hyundai finance and they said it was their bill and not the dealerships. Nothing was said to us when we returned the PERFECT car. This sounds like a legal scam!! This never happened with our first lease. Why this time?? Its not like we have so so credit; it is over 800! This has been so distasteful that we will never go back to Hyundai nor will we consider a lease again. We will make sure to tell everyone we know not to lease from Hyundai. By the way; we immediately paid the $433.00 and got the CONFIRMATION NUMBER however they said it would take them two weeks to get the paperwork to us showing the lease was paid in full. Additionally, they said they couldnt send an email showing the final payment and release of the lease. I will be waiting and watching our bank account because-again-I DO NOT TRUST THEM!! We are not sure if they will do as they told us or will they say the payment didnt go through and bill us a late fee??? VERY unhappy with Hyundai and Hyundai finance.

I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra For $8999 with 83,000 miles on it in January 2018. Today is March 20, 2018 and the car needs a new engine. They will not replace the engine. I took it to Morrie’s Hyundai to fix and they refused to fix it saying Hyundai corporate refuses to fix the engine because I am 2nd owner of the car that the 100,000 mile warranty does not apply. Who has allowed them to make and sell cars, take peoples money and not honor the warranty. It’s a crime that needs the law to look at this. I purchased a brand new Sonata, 2.0 Limited edition May 2016. I have 1,032 miles on the car. I was backing out of a parking spot when the power steering failed. It took roadside assistance 2.45 hours to get me and tow my car to the dealership. This happened July 16, 2016. Today is July 26 and the response that I am getting from the service center is that there are major computer problems thats causing the issue and they are working with technicians from Hyundai to get it fixed. They do not know when this will be done. I did some research and saw that there was a recall on the same vehicle prior to the manufacture date of my vehicle. I also experienced an issue with the ABS brakes. When I am stopped in traffic the brake will release and I have to press harder on the brake for the car to stop rolling. Oh, this is also caused by the computer failure. From what I have read thus far on this site, and carcomplaints.com this seems to be a reoccurring...major issue and it appears that Hyundai does not know what or how to fix it. I am very upset about this whole situation right now. Paying for a car that I cant drive. Im concerned that this will continue to be a safety issue and Hyundai has no idea how to repair it. In the middle of dealing with death in the family and having to travel out of town, I was given a loaner, but they did not want me to drive that one out of state (NC), so they gave me a rental. Its a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and would you believe that I have to go trade that car out for another vehicle today because the engine light is on. I contacted Hyundai myself to see if I could get any answers, they said they were unaware of the issue and opened a case. They said they will allow the dealership 3-5 business days to respond and would get back with me. At what point does this become a serious recall issue and we as consumers get this resolved.

I purchased a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. After the second week, found the passenger outer door handle doesnt work properly. So I called my salesman, made the appointment to bring the car in. While having this problem, the car hobbles every morning. Dealership told me it was the tires, and there is nothing they can do about it. The tires will smooth out in an half a mile. Well this every day thing stinks! On top of it the driver’s seat creaks, and now has somehow gone away, and after waxing it for the first time I find blemishes in the paint. Nothing you can do about it, it will just look worse if you fix it. The biggest problem is the Blue Link telecommunications in the car. It is terrible. It was so poor. I was calling Blue Link every day with issues like, why wont the car start with the phone, why wont it unlock the doors, and the maps they use are google, which are not updated often, so the car has no idea on where to take you. The whole car after one month just feels like Ive owned it for years, like a used car. I will never purchase a Hyundai again. I tried it, not worth it.

I purchased my first brand new car with Hyundai in January 2015, a Hyundai Elantra. My car is now a year and almost 5 months old and 6 days ago my engine began revving and I immediately removed myself and car from the road. Once I parked, my car started releasing all its transmission fluid. I had no warnings, no indications of anything wrong at all. They towed the car to the dealership and I was given a rental car that I was told was going to be covered because since the car is so new. Needless to say, I received a phone call later that day telling me that this fix wont be covered under my warranty because its been deemed an impact crack in my transmission and its an incidental. My car is a year old and theyre trying to tell me that Ive caused a crack in my own transmission... Im sorry that just doesnt happen. I live on Long Island which is basically all highways, no rough terrain whatsoever. A transmission is a tough piece of machinery, they just dont crack and Im telling you I did absolutely nothing wrong. I use this car for my commute to work and pleasure on weekends. Mind you also, before I even drove it off the lot upon purchase back in Jan. 2015, I had the dealer repair not one but two dents as well as multiple scratches on the car. I didnt know I had to bring a mechanic with me to purchase a new car from a Hyundai Dealer... Clearly the conditions in which this car were kept were nothing close to ideal. How can they honestly and with good faith point the finger at me and tell me that a car thats a year old will not be covered under warranty? AMERICAS BEST WARRANTY, that is. Go scratch, Hyundai.Ive reached out to Hyundai Motor America via Email, Mail, Fax and Phone. Ive opened a case and the case manager I spoke with was BEYOND useless. Im currently awaiting an adjuster from my insurance company to go look at my car and theyre going to fight on my behalf as well. Additionally, now the rental car they ever so kindly set me up with, theyre telling me I must pay for. That car got returned after day 5 and now I have a hefty bill for a rental on top of all of this now. To say Im beyond infuriated is an understatement. The customer service and lack of consideration Ive been receiving from Hyundai is atrocious. Shame on you, Hyundai. Once this is said and done I will NOT be a returning consumer of anything Hyundai related and Ill make sure everyone else knows what JUNK this company truly produces.

I just like to have a horrible nightmare story with my Hyundai Sonata 2005
I just like to have a horrible nightmare story with my Hyundai Sonata 2005 in last 2 years. I desperately need your legal helps, suggestions and comments. On 02/22/2012, My Sonata 2005 just past 70,914 Miles and I was suggested by young guy name ** to change my Timing Belt and etc. I spent $967.43 to let Lehigh Valley, PA Hyundai Service Center done the job. At that point, my car just have a tire issue. After 2 weeks, I hear some noise when I first time start car. I called **. He told me because it’s new belt and Id better to tolerant it. At April, I still hear noise and little bit loud. I call them again. They let me left the car with them several days. They wrote it down as they cant find any problem and adjust timing belt little. They sold me about annual State Inspection package this time. After that, I changed Spark Plug and Engine Oil with top line product myself in the same year. I always use Hyundai Genuine Oil and Air Filters once day one and do this maintenance job myself when I purchased the car as brand new one. I tolerant this problem several months and called them again. They still tell me the same answer. I was so busy for my job and life. I cant always let them keep my car for several days to find nothing. On 04/08/2013 at 88,055 miles, I hear a belt broken sound while I am driving on I-78 and engine is completely shut down. I called them ask for road assistant and was told to paid for towing or solve myself. I managed myself to get their place. They told me that I have to pay myself for the repairs. After several days, they called and informed me that they found the engine was broken. They will cover for these repairs. In last year, I already talk to totally different Manager and Service Reps. They also told me that they had difficult to find replace engine. Until 05/01/2013, I was called for the job done.I changed engine oil with Hyundai Genuine Oil Filter and 5 Gallon Castrol High Mileage 10W40 myself last summer. And I wish I can keep this car for another 5 years. However, I notice in Nov. the oil check light sometimes flashing in an barely occasion while I drive on highway ramp and stop at traffic. Im NOT pay too much attention about this issue. I know if I call them, they will keep my car for several days and find nothing. Thats about their service and skills.Last month of 8th, I try to pull my car from heavy snow in dark evening and the car start as normal and was NOT working after several times back and forth to pull out. With several light on, I can start the car at all. I give up my efforts to drive car out in that evening. I called my job off in second morning and try to start it again. It was OK and out of from the snow. I immediately drive to LV Hyundai Service Center and notice that the engine check light is solid ON while I stop at traffic. They call me afternoon and tell me they cant find any engine oil in my car and the engine is broken again and ask me about engine oil and filter purchase receipts. I usually dont keep these small purchase receipt for my normal life. However, I can show them my a couple of old replacement Hyundai Genuine Oil Filters in my garage. I bring two used filter and one air filter. I argue with them NO CAR should running under engine oil while my gas tank is 80% full. Your engine has a big design defect. You should repair or replace it again under your all your warranty claims and consumer protection laws. I talk to them back and forth several time already. They still refuse to do so. I dont have my car for more than one month. Please help me if you all can. Thank you very much in advance.

Ever since I bought this car three years ago, I have had nothing but problems. When I turn the steering wheel left or right, in both drive and reverse, it car sounds like you are going up a roller coaster. It clicks so loud! I have replaced tie rods, CV joints, and anything else that was the cause for the clicking over the last 3 years and the car still makes this noise. No one can seem to figure that issue out. In three years, I have replaced the tires 4 times, the brakes 7 times, multiple studs and bolts, and the rotors three times. Its like the car eats anything tire & brake related! Last year I began experiencing what could only be described as the car losing power right in the middle of driving. Also when I would turn the car on, it was so incredibly loud that I thought it was going to fly away or explode. While driving it would jerk so hard to where I thought I was going to break down. It would get stuck staying around 3000 rpm and wouldnt shift past that so going faster than 50 was hard and scary because it felt like the car was going to shut down and sounded like it was going to overheat or blow up. This was brought to the attention of Laurel Hyundai and I was informed that an engine recall was opened on my vehicle, but nothing could be done until the car actually stalled out, caught on fire, the check engine light stayed on, or began showing the required symptoms of engine failure under the recall qualifications. On May 7th of this year, I was driving up hill going approximately 40 mph on a very busy road. I was approaching a stop light and when I went to start slowing down, every light on the dashboard lit up, the car stalled, I couldnt turn the steering wheel, and I couldnt stop the vehicle! The brakes wouldnt even work! I started rolling down the hill backwards and applied my emergency brake. Since my foot was still on the brake, I was able to put the car in park after it stopped rolling backwards and I turned the car off. I tried turning the car on three times and it wouldnt turn over. I tried the fourth time and the car turned on, but the oil lamp light was blinking and the check engine light was illuminated.Mind you I had my 7 year old twin daughters in the car with me when this happened! I immediately drove it to Laurel Hyundai. I was told the car would need to be tested for some sort of noise and if it failed that the engine would need replaced under the engine recall. It did fail the test and I was told that it could be two weeks or two months before they would get the new engine in and I would get my car back. I was given a rental car that got 12 mpg and cost $72 dollars to fill up each week. I did not get my car back until May 31. I only drove it from the dealership back to my house, which is less than 2 miles away. I parked the car and did not drive it again until the next morning when went to get gas. When I started backing out of my driveway, I noticed a giant puddle of oil.I also noticed that when I would apply the brakes, the brake pedal would make a noise, almost like a rubbing click, like there was air in the brake line. Not only could you hear the noise outside of the car, but you could feel it in the brake pedal. Less than 18 hours after getting my car back I had to immediately take it back to the dealership. On my way there the car started making a very loud clanking noise. I parked the car and 3 salesman, the lot manager, and another customer heard and confirmed the clanking noise and the oil leak. It was suggested that it sounded like a heat shield or even a tool being left somewhere in the engine when it was replaced. Because it was Saturday the service department was closed.I was told that I would need to just come back on Monday when the service department opened. The lot manager told me that it wasnt safe to drive the vehicle with it leaking that amount of oil because it could catch on fire. I also did not want to drive the vehicle until Monday because I did not want to make the clanking noise any worse! The lot manager did help me out and provided me with another rental to drive. I asked if the rental could be something more efficient on gas because I just filled up the last rental car that I had the day before, which cost me $74 dollars, and just put $40 in gas in my car and I was not going to fill up a third car. He obliged and gave me one of their vehicles from the lot as a rental.I was contacted on Monday and told that it was leaking oil and it would be fixed and that the noise was from bad front brakes. I just had brand new brakes and tires put on the car in January of this year so I did not believe that, but like I mentioned before, the car literally destroys tires and brakes beyond anything that can be considered normal wear and tear. I was given my car back the next day and sent on my way. On June 24th I had to take the car back because it was still leaking oil!! They fixed the leak for a second time and I was given my car back the same day and told again that the noise was from bad front brakes. A few weeks later, the check engine light came on.I immediately drove the vehicle to the dealership and I was told that the diagnostic test said it was just a loose gas cap and the light was cleared and I was sent on my way. I was a little unsure about this but I had just gotten gas the day before and was told the new computer update made this sort of issue very sensitive to the car and easy to pick up. I had the brakes and rotors replaced on the front of the car since I was told they were bad and the cause of the noise, and yet the vehicle still continues to make the clanking noise. The only issue that was fixed from changing the brakes is that there no longer is the noise coming from the brake pedal and under the car when I apply the brake pedal. On September 17, the car began driving the way it was prior to the engine replacement; trouble shifting, making the loud noise when I turn it on, lacks power when it reaches around 3000 rpm, all those same, nice engine failure symptoms. On Friday evening, September 20, the check engine light came back on and is still on. I know it cant be a loose gas cap because I havent put gas in the car since September 13. I tried to call the dealership on Saturday the 21st and no one answered so I left a message for the lot manager to please return my call. I am so highly frustrated and seriously concerned about mine and my childrens safety while driving this vehicle! Not to mention, Im very wary on taking the car back to this service department. This vehicle has had nothing but issues and 7 recalls on the vehicle, the most important being the engine which I dont even feel like was replaced. Terrible vehicle and service. I will never buy another Hyundai again. Also, Ive tried filing a second complaint with Hyundais Corporate office and the website tells me that my VIN cant be identified or is invalid even though I am typing in the correct VIN and have no issues looking the car up by the VIN on any other website. Therefore, I cant file a complaint with them until Monday during normal business hours via telephone.

Recently I relocated to Florida. I faxed a request for my title to be sent to the Florida tag agency on July 23. I called Hyundai on July 29 to check on the status. I was told to call back in a week as they were behind. I called back on August 5 and was told they have no receipt of my request. I verified the fax number and again faxed. On August 18 I checked to see if my request was being processed. I was told they were behind and only processing requests from august 1st. Currently I am not able to get Florida plates, I am paying insurance in two states. Customer service at HYUNDAI is poor at best. They need to have an undercover boss check out what the employees are doing. If I worked at that rate my boss would fire me. I am sure that HYUNDAI would find me quickly if I missed a payment. Due to this I would rate them low and will never purchase/lease from them again. My husband drives a Mercedes and my son a Toyota. They both received their titles within a week.

2012 Accent - My air con quit. Had 2 different mechanics look at it. Both recharged the AC and it still did not work. 2nd mechanic told me the problem is a control module in the computer and if the car is less than 5 years old and mileage under 100 k the problem is fixed under warranty. Called Hyundai. They checked my VIN. It was originally put on the road April 25, 2012... Is the computer programmed to fail just after warranty? It probably was not working then, however not a time of year I would use. Have been told 800 - 1000 to fix???

Also spoke to Hyundai 800 6315151 with no help. Checked youtube, seems like a common problem with Hyundai. Bill to fix is $700. Hyundai lied again regarding warranty just like they did with gas mileage.

I have to say I WAS a huge Hyundai supporter. In fact, I referred a family member and a friend to buy one of your cars as well. I say WAS because my 2011 Sonatas engine blew and the dealership (Jim Ellis Hyundai - Atlanta, GA) cannot tell me why. They actually said it would cost $400+ if I wanted to know exactly what happened. They denied me warranty service and told me a new engine would cost $6,800 for a TWO (2) year old car. This is unbelievable to me from a company that stands on its warranties on their cars. I am sure Hyundai is aware that an unhappy customer will reach 10-20 times more potential new customers than a happy customer. I am at this time an UNHAPPY customer.

On June 2020, I purchased a Palisade 2020 at Lougheed Hyundai. The car was purchased new. I quickly discovered that this car is in fact was damaged during the manufacturing process. Or, this may have been the result of damage incurred by workers at Lougheed Hyundai, which was then covered up. After a few days of having the car, I went to an automatic car cleaning service. After completing the wash, I noticed discoloration on the car body near the wheels (near the back passenger door) because its paint peels off. What bothered me with my experience at Lougheed Hyundai is the terrible customer experience and the general manager doesnt care of the customer. He offered me to repaint that part which is included in the warranty or he can replace that part of my car with a another new car!! So it might have been happened for my car before I purchased it. As a new Hyundai customer this is a very disappointed experience which I never had with different manufacture.

My wife and I took a trip from Western PA to the state of Washington and neither of us had aches and pains from the trip to and from either location home. We were very surprised at mileage we got on the trip. All in all we were so pleased with the car we ended up purchasing another. It feels like a luxury vehicle at a low price.

I was unable to ever get a power of attorney until I called corporate several times and explained that this was a breach of contract by not sending me the necessary documents. 2011 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 L. - When stopped for a red light or just sitting at an idle (in gear or in neutral), the engine 1.8L vibrates so much that your body shakes while you are waiting for the green light. Vibration stops once the car is moving at normal speeds. I was told by the dealers service manager that Hyundai is aware of this problem, but few owners have experienced this problem and Hyundai may not fix this. Ive had this problem since I bought this car new off their lot. Its been 2 years now and I am very disappointed in the way Hyundai is doing nothing about my problem. I have continuously been bringing the car back to to the dealer asking the service people where I bought this car to please fix the problem. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do to fix it. At present, I have 40k miles. Please advise me.

I was surprised by my father when he got me a brand new Hyundai Tucson last May of 2011. My old car prior to this one was a Toyota Vios - manual transmission, so this is definitely something more special as it is bigger and it has an automatic transmission making the drive easier for me. I used my Hyundai going to work and it really did not disappoint me especially during rush hour. The handling of my Hyundai is very good. It is very fuel efficient and it accelerates smoothly - very zippy. It is very easy to drive and it doesnt seem to be too big especially for a girl like me who is not tall. The leg room at the back is also very spacious and could definitely accommodate tall people. The compartment at the back is also very big. I did not encounter any problems with my Hyundai up until the time that I sold it. I was really saddened when I have to say goodbye to it earlier this year because it was my favorite but my husband got a brand new Mitsubishi so we have to let go of our old Hyundai. Hyundai is definitely recommended!

My 2011 Hyundai Sonata died on me last night while driving home on the 210 Fwy without any warning whatsoever. AAA towed it to Parkway Hyundai in Valencia, CA. I received a call today from the dealership telling me I need a new engine. Although my car has 150,000 miles on it, they are mostly easy highway miles and I have not had any mechanical issues up to now. I regularly have maintenance done to the vehicle. I am furious after reading numerous complaints from other 2011 Hyundai Sonata owners with the same problem and Hyundai not accepting any responsibility.

I purchased a new 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS with a manual transmission about
I purchased a new 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS with a manual transmission about two or three years ago. I considered it to offer the most value for the price back then compared to an Accord, Camry, and other models. Unfortunately, I believe I made a mistake with this purchase. I wrote about my problems with this car on this forum before. Now, its time for a brief update. The power locks stopped working intermittently. This was a result of an electrical problem in the drivers side door panel. Thats not something that should happen in a car that is less than 3 years old. Another issue is that the iPod charger does not charge properly either, so sometimes my iPod has no battery power left even if it was charging while the car was on. The clutch master cylinder also has been replaced twice: once at about 12,000 miles and again at about 35,000 miles. The car has 40,000 miles on it now. Both times, the master cylinder was replaced free of charge. However, when I was getting a routine oil change about two weeks ago, the Hyundai technicians said that I needed a brand new clutch. Incredulous, I went home and found the maintenance records for the master cylinder because it had already been replaced twice. I went back to the local Hyundai dealer the next day and showed them these records and they said this had nothing to do with replacing the entire clutch and that it would not be covered under warranty. I asked why not and he said that the clutch was only covered by a 12-month/12,000 mile warranty because it was a consumable part.” He also said that the clutch can go out at 15,000 miles or 60,000 miles--depending on how you drive the car. Of course, Ive only driven cars with manual transmissions, so I know how to drive them. Ive driven cars that are much older than this one that have never had clutch problems, including an 11-year old Daewoo. But my Sonata made a rattling sound when it was idling and the gear shifts were not smooth. Now I know why. Anyway, after shelling out $1900, the car runs much better. But Im tired of dealing with maintenance issues with this car. I really want to like my Sonata, but I can no longer trust it. I think I would have been better served by paying the extra $1500 for a brand new car from a competitor instead of wasting my money and time being disappointed by a car that I really wanted to like that always seem to have a defective part or a part that is constructed of substandard quality. Theres not much dealership support and the parts dont seem particularly reliable. My wife had many problems with her 2007 Hyundai Accent as well, so I think Ive seen enough. We will not purchase another Hyundai.

Well I have written many reviews and yet I truly do not think anything has or will change. I could sum up Hyundai quickly or at least the warehouse that ships out their parts for service, Incompetent. I hate using a word like that. See, some people just loosely use this word on companies just to rant but Hyundai is truly not a well oiled machine like the cars that they sell. At least the company doesnt worry about the management, or any sales reps that are selling the vehicles. That company runs entirely on the market pushing for an affordable and reliable vehicles. When it comes back to the human aspect of the company like CUSTOMER SERVICE, out the door it goes. I have had an awful experience with their service and being shipped out wrong parts for the last 8 weeks now. I have yet to see my car and all Hyundai is doing is taking more time to complete a task. The loaner vehicles that they have issued me (now 2) is not what Im paying for nor do I want it. This service dept has had my car in the shop for 8 WEEKS to just replace a motor in a sunroof. Thats it... But now the Gm will not take my calls due to he is ALWAYS too busy and the Sales Manger is so brash and rude to me I feel like he thinks he owns the place the way he talks to me. Just an FYI, If customers dont come and buy the vehicles on the lot, then you dont have a job. I think in the game that you play, you should be more grateful to the customers that provide for you. I would give this company and experience a 0 but it is not an option. I have written so many of these complaints that this one is just a brief summary of the incompetents of this company and truly I cannot waste anymore time on a concrete wall that will not budge. Sorry Hyundai you have taken this route because you use to be on top of your game. I know that I am only one person you have decided to pushed away but we add up quickly and your company depends on us, the consumer. I hope that this message reaches out to the top of wherever it needs to go to and some sort of something happens as oppose to you guys treating me with disrespect. I am only frustrated because you have yet to reach out to me and consult and make better. As a company that deals with a lot of customers I would feel that would be your top priority, not to just sell cars and then leave the customer high and dry. Thanks Hyundai for the experience, you have truly made me very upset and shown me again that dealership as yours just will never get it. Its not about you guys, its always about us... THE CUSTOMER.

Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission rep
Brought my out of warranty 2011 Hyundai Tucson to my local transmission repair shop for service in mid-November (you dont go to a general surgeon if you need brain surgery). Shop states a shaft is bad and they need to order one. One is ordered from the local Hyundai dealer Mid State Hyundai in Berlin VT. Parts folks state that shaft is out of production. Production to resume on 2 December. We wait for 2 December to come. Part shows up, shaft does not fit, too big. Right part number on the box, wrong shaft. Transmission shop, Mid State and Hyundai in Korea go back and forth as to what happened.Based on the VIN, part should be correct. Pictures and drawings are sent back and forth; meanwhile, I still dont have a car. Finally determine wrong part was put in box and shipped. Now have to wait until 7 January for the right part. Neither Mid State nor Hyundai will do anything to rectify this. I have been without a car for over a month; I simply want a loaner. If Hyundai had not messed up the part, I would have had my car back on the 3rd or 4th of December. This is not customer service on the part of Hyundai or Mid State.

Hyundai Getz, repair of tail light - My partner recently cracked the plastic tail light on her car. Being a Hyundai, she took it to Hyundai in Brighton Victoria and was quoted $250 for the part and installation. It sounded steep so I bought the part from Repco ($60) and replaced it in about six minutes. I am no car expert. My dissatisfaction is that we were about to get ripped off by Hyundai. It makes me wonder why we would take the car for a service anywhere near Hyundai. There was absolutely no loyalty shown to us as Hyundai customers. I am not sure if Mazda or Holden would do the same, but this performance of customer service was appalling.

I purchased a 2012 Tucson on 10/3/15 (yes just last week). I had the car NO JOKE 4 HOURS and the car began stalling out. The dealership came to pick it up that day, 4 hours after bringing it home. They have had it since. They still have no idea what is wrong with my car and I am getting the runaround. I bought it from a Chevy Dealer, did a trade in on my 2011 Chevy Cruze, which was mechanically sound/perfect. Now, the dealership tells me they had to send it to a Hyundai Dealership for further review. HELLO my father has been a mechanic for 20 years. A GM Mechanic (he lived in another state or I would have him fix it). He knew exactly what was wrong - electrical/computer issue. Once the car reaches a certain temperature the car shuts down. I relay this to the dealership and they treat me like I have no clue. Come to find out after them spending 4 long days on it, its a computer/electrical issue. I cannot believe I am going through this with a new purchase. I am stressed, pissed and paying for a car I cannot even drive/let alone have for more then 4 hours. Lastly, today I found out that there is a recall on this car. I told them I dont want this car anymore. I do not feel safe and to put me in something else. They flat out told me no because they will fix my car. Oh yeah fix my car? WHEN! I am still waiting.

Two weeks ago we were driving and all of a sudden the engine shut off, no warning lights were on at all at the time this happened. We had Hyundai Roadside assistance tow the vehicle, (waited 2 hours for them) to the closest Hyundai dealer. The next day the dealer called and said the engine was shot, and they had to take it apart to send pictures to the corporate office. 5 days later they called and said Hyundai denied the warranty for Lack of Maintenance. The car only as 46,000 miles, and we have had oil changes. The dealer said they found sludge in the engine. Hyundai never asked for any receipts for oil changes, and just denied the claim. I then called the 800 customer service number, to be told that there was nothing they could do, all complaints were handled through the Better Business Bureau. I asked to speak with whomever denied the claim and they refused. So now I have a complaint into the BBB, but Hyundai has not responded. I dont understand how they advertise the best warranty and then deny all claims. I have researched the internet and found many people has had the same thing happen to them. How is this legal? Our vehicle is leased, so they know we have to fix it before the end of the lease. This seems like a scam, since we have to fix it. We also found at least 5 other Hyundai owners who reported the exact same symptoms as ours on the same make, all of which were denied by Hyundai. I will never buy another Hyundai, they are criminals running a huge scam. Dont believe the salesman when they tell you they have the best warranty. They dont honor it. Dealer told me there is nothing they can do to help. They said that they have seen sludge in the engine in other Hyundais and ours was not that out of the ordinary. However they claim their hands are tied, and all warranty decisions are made by corporate.

Our new 2013 Sonata Hybrid is getting around 26 MPG, not the 37-40 MPG that was advertised. We purchased the vehicle summer of 2013. So far company is blaming it on the cold after 2 dealership visits. We understand that a few miles can fluctuate, but 11-14 is significant. We would appreciate a follow-up. Thank you.

I would like to express the way I feel about a recent unpleasant experience my family and I went through at one of your dealerships in Bogota, Colombia. We were referred to the Hyundai location on at Carrera 34 and 13 Calle in Bogota. We went to get a car for my nephew. The sales lady was **. She asked us for many types of papers including real state proof that I have down there, a person with great credit history, which I use my brother in-law for it. I also offered up 30,000,000 pesos which translates to $15,000 on a car that only costs 56,000,000 pesos which translates to $30,000. We were trying to finance just half of it because I will pay off the car in less than six months. I guess everything was going okay with all the submitted paperwork because Erika asked me to bring 3,000,000 pesos cash and I did, which is equal to $1,650 to set the car aside for us. Now, the finance gentleman, **, even got involved and said that it will be possible for the deal to go through due to all paperwork provided and the amount of money I was giving ($15,000).All of a sudden, I called Javier on 8/16/2012 from the Miami because I had to come back from vacations and he said that we were not approved because my brother-in-law did not have a super credit history, which it is not what he said in the first place. He said that his credit history was good enough plus all the money. Okay, I am not upset that much about whatever reason your company decided not to approve us. I work with customer service for an outstanding company here in the States and no one gives the amazing service we do to our guest. So, yes I was not impressed for a second with your customer service at that location. Now, the issue I have, it is that I gave your company, Hyundai, $1,650 to set the car aside for us. Now, ** said that he has nothing to do with that, which is hurtful. He said he does not work for Hyundai. He works for the finance company. Funny, I met him inside your Hyundai dealership. And now, ** is too busy go to the cashier window and give us our money back. She said she is at an event and she cannot do anything about it. She said that we need to wait over a week to get our deposit back into an account of my family. When have you heard that!? I gave you, Hyundai, cash and I expected it back now! I already got a car today for my nephew with the Dodge in Bogota with no hassles at all! I just need my money back! I would continue to send this email to every dealership in the States and international. Someone needs to clean up dealers/sales teams that are super misleading.

I am completely disgusted with this finance company and people need to be aware of what they are dealing with when it comes to getting a loan from HMF. I set up auto-pay so that I would ALWAYS have a timely payment on my three year loan. Paying on time is very important to me and auto-pay seem like the best solution to Hyundai getting their money on time, every month. It came down to the last payment and this payment was never auto-deducted. Unfortunately for me, I didnt realize this policy of theirs that the last payment would NOT be auto-deducted. What made this so bad is that I didnt find this out until I was 45 days late in payment and Hyundai had already reported this on my credit! I still cant get over them reporting me to the credit bureau when they could have easily communicated what they needed from me to take their last payment.I immediately called to get clarity on why they were telling me I was late in payment with this statement I received just today when they had full ACCESS to my checking account!! They told me that they have a policy built in the contract that states first and last payments are NOT auto-deductible. OK, so somewhere in the fine print is this policy when I bought the car. Being a long time Hyundai customer that is always receiving mail from them, I find it interesting that a courtesy reminder notice with the last statement isnt enclosed for people that rely on auto-pay?I just know that I dont deserve to have my credit dinged because of some nonsense they put in a contract I signed three years ago! I have never made a late payment on the car and common sense would tell you that I counted on THEM to take what was owed out of my account. Obviously, they do this to make a few dollars on interest and late fees. The consequences to an honest consumer with something like this are that they will have their credit report dinged and a fight on their hands to correct it. This is no small matter. This incident is enough to not only make me committed to NEVER buying another Hyundai, but to put the word out there to others to NOT do business with them - at least when it comes to loans. HMF is the lowest of the low. The car itself, a used 2008 Elantra, has been a pretty good car to have. Still, Hyundai lost a customer because of this. BTW... their customer service are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with too!!! No empathy, no care. I was treated like a dumb deadbeat. Never again!

We have been happy Hyundai customers for many years. Earlier in the year, we were noticing that our Genesis was sporadically pulling to one side. We took it to our car to Chapman Hyundai in Phoenix, AZ - the dealership we purchased the car and loyally worked with them on all of our service needs. They couldnt recreate the issue, so they returned the car to us. We continue to have incidences of this happen again, so took the car back. They did a wheel alignment. It didnt solve the problem. In June I lost control of the car when coming off the highway. I feared that I would not be able to stop at the bottom of the off-ramp, which would have resulted in a major accident. Fortunately, I was able to regain control and stop the car in time.We tried to make an appointment with the dealership, but there was a 2-week wait, so we took it to a local repair shop because we were afraid to drive the car and couldnt be without it for 2 weeks. They quickly saw that all 4 control arms had major cracks in them. They replaced them. They said that this issue should have been detected by the dealership mechanics since the cracks were quite large. This doesnt happen overnight. They also suggested there may be another issue that should be watched if the pulling should happen again. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs to report this situation on June 2nd. I was told that I would hear back from a case manager within 10 days. I was finally contacted (after repeatedly calling, sitting on hold, waiting, and waiting) on July 14th. The case manager immediately told us that there was nothing she could do as far as reimbursement of the over $3500 of costs we incurred at an independent garage because the car wasnt repaired by a certified Hyundai mechanic. I stressed our lack of faith in the technicians, stressed the risk I was put in, and threatened to go viral with my story. She came back 5 days later saying that the company would reimburse me for the cost of parts only - however, I had to take the car to a dealership for them to make sure the work was done properly. She wanted me to pay for this service while taking MORE time off work - not having a car. She called me back 2 days later to see if I was going to accept the offer even though I told her it wasnt fair that I had to pay for the service call as well as everything else Ive been dealing with. She called me back - as promised - on July 22nd. I was unavailable to take her call. Since then I have left multiple messages/emails with her with no response. The pulling issue still persists to this day. On August 4th we scheduled a service call with a different Hyundai dealership. Again, we have to wait 2 weeks for our appointment. Were left with an unsafe car, no response from the company, and no sight in end to this issue. When my husband had car issues with his Acura, they had to wait 2 weeks to get the necessary part that was draining our battery. They provided us with a loaner so we werent inconvenienced and kept us updated on the status of the part. Thats customer service. Maybe Hyundai needs to look at its competitors and learn how to treat people properly.

I bought 2 Hyundais in the past 5 years and every time I go to the dealer to fix a problem, they say, Yes it is not working properly, but it still works enough to not replace. This goes for the shocks that wont lift the hatch back up, and the AC that makes a loud clunk sound EVERY time I turn off the car. Dont believe the warranty because they will delay you until the warranty runs out. Tired of their lies!

I purchased a new Hyundai Elantra 1 year ago, drove just over 20,000 highway miles; and already the tires need to be replaced! When I bought the car, all the salesman (Murdock Hyundai in Murray, Utah) could do was say how dependable and reliable everything on the Elantra is now. He was right, except for the tires!

This is our 4th Hyundai, second Tucson. You have lost a customer. This 2017 limited Tucson turbo is terrible... the transmission is awful... hesitation, jerking. I have had it to the dealer several times to be told “nothing is wrong”. They tell me they are aware of the problem but until Hyundai does something to fix the issue their hands are tied. I’m sure there will eventually be a huge lawsuit and then... Hyundai will say bye-bye! So sad!

On 8/20/2013 I was leaving the VA clinic, I put the car in drive and pressed the gas. A few seconds later the car sounded like a motorcycle and the check engine light came on. I didnt want to drive it on the highway so I took the main streets. The exhaust got louder and louder and I was afraid it might cause engine damage. I saw a Meineke Car Care Center and pulled in. They lift the car and the mechanic said that the converter gasket blew out. While installing a new gasket he noticed that the gasket flange on the front pipe was a little distorted probably from all the heat. He told me he would have to put a small amount of sealer on the gasket to make up for the gap and that he didnt know if it would hold, but it would get me to the Hyundai service department without hurting the engine. When he had finished and started the car it was perfect. No noise, no leaks. I had an appointment with Twin City Hyundai on 9/12 for a recall problem. I told them what had happened and the Service rep., the service manager and a mechanic looked for almost an hour and took some parts off the front of the engine. The service rep. called me over and started explaining what was wrong with the car. He said, and they ALL agreed that the manifold was cracked and had to be replaced, the converter was no good, and needed a new front pipe, and they may find other problems after they tore it down. Travis said it would cost $1400 to $3000 if the warranty didnt cover it. Travis (the service rep.) said he had to take some pictures to see if the warranty would cover the cost. On Monday 9/16 Travis called and said the warranty was void because it was road damage, and said it would be as much as $3,000.00 to fix it. Travis NEVER said anything about “Road Damage” on 8/20 after the 3 of them had a one hour inspection. After I got Travis’s call I took the car back to Meineke and told them what Twin City said it would cost. They were outraged and called it a scam. Meineke fixed the car perfectly by installing a new front pipe and their inspection showed NO manifold crack, and no need to replace the converter as it was working properly. The front pipe was $200.00.I drove to Twin City Hyundai and acted like I wanted to have them fix the car. I asked Travis to take another look and make sure he was sure about his appraisal, and what the car needed to be fixed. Even though the car was fixed he still said that it could be as much as $3000 but definitely no lower than $1400. That’s when I told him the car was fixed for $200 and that I wondered how many others he had scammed. I then went up and talked to the General Manager **, and explained the fraud that they tried to pull. His comments were “what would you like me to do about it?” I said as the General Manager, I guess that was up to him, and then out of nowhere he says you are banded from brings your car here for warranty service. He tries to punish me for because I caught his people trying to scam me out of $2800.00.
