New Car Preview: 2023 Toyota Prius
Posted On: November 16, 2022
I vividly remember when Toyota president Akio Toyoda stated that they would no longer make boring cars, and now with the introduction of a redesigned Toyota Prius it looks as if he’s kept his word, and that’s a good thing! The Toyota Prius has always been the formidable economical vehicle that sipped fuel and put its best efforts ahead of others in the world of hybrids. For all intents and purposes, the Toyota Prius introduced America to the hybrid and has continued a legacy of being one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles around. For its fifth generation, the Prius gets a redesign and one that’s significantly different in a good way. Toyota looks to have made the best-looking Prius yet from what we see here unveiled ahead of the 2022 L.A. Auto Show. While there are no specific details about what’s underneath the new sleek sheet metal of the new 2023 Prius, we are certain that Toyota has used the latest in hybrid technology to bring us a return of one of the most fuel-efficient consumer vehicles on earth, at least one that still burns gasoline. Using the second-generation TNGA platform, Toyota benefited from its designed proportions and will stuff a larger 2.0-liter gas engine under the newly sculpted hood along with its hybrid unit to produce about 193 horsepower while the new Prius Prime will get as much as 220 horsepower. The new powertrain in the PHEV version of the Prius should hit 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, which may not be “fast” in the eyes of sports car owners but is surely a massive improvement over the outgoing Prius in any form. Apart from the drivetrain improvements, the new Prius gets a reworked interior space where there’s a prominent digital gauge cluster in a direct forward-facing view of the driver and a large infotainment touchscreen that looks to use the latest system found in many new Toyota and Lexus vehicles. We’re sure to learn additional details as we get into the 2022 L.A. Auto Show that debuts this week, and they should be just as exciting as the looks of this new Toyota Prius.

Safety for sure when I drive the vehicle. The brand of Toyota, it make from Japan, so many people liked to used that, cause they had valuable to me. I would recommend to my friends. Also Winter time, the snow control, push on there before to drive, makes the car controllable and survey safe on the road.

I inherited this Toyota Rav4 from my mother when she stopped driving. It works good for hauling kids, dogs and gardening supplies plus can handle 5 small bails of straw with ease. I also like the power locks and power windows and I love the 4 wheel drive. The car runs great, good on gas, handles great and can make it through a MN winter. I can make it up my drive way during the winter. But I would have liked better tires and wish it was less like a station wagon. And Id like it if it is higher off the ground, I feel like Im getting into a car and not a SUV. I also wish it had tilt steering and blue tooth.

I have been a loyal Toyota customer since the year 2000 buying and leasing multiple vehicles for my personal use, my husband and as the kids got older for my kids. Today 8/30/2019 I had the worst customer experience and left Team Toyota (Route One NJ) in tears. The service department manager has no empathy, no customer service skills. I bought 16 vehicles from Toyota and I am due to get my daughter a vehicle her senior year, It will not be a Toyota. They lost me as a customer. No loyalty towards customers, no care, no empathy ... I am done with them and I will be writing a letter of complain.

I’ve owned different makes in the past. GM, Ford, Dodge and Toyotas. Since 1985, I’ve owned several Toyotas. Every Toyota I’ve owned has outperformed the other makes by a wide margin. They are more reliable and more durable than all the other makes. Every Ford I’ve owned needed major repairs because of either substandard build and/or substandard parts. The 2014 RAM 3500 I owned had a substandard design. Back to Toyota, its website is pretty easy to get around. Toyota’s one drawback is its pricing, especially for its trucks. But as the old adage says “you get what you pay for”, and with Toyota it is my experience you get greater quality.

I have driven a Toyota for the last 11 years. My first was an echo then I bought a new corolla ascent in 2008. I loved that car and nothing ever went wrong. I would have given a 100% satisfaction. In Oct 2015 I traded it in for a corolla ascent sport. What a difference - First of all I did a hill start and smelt burning or petrol. When I complained to Toyota they said its my driving... Ive been driving for over 20 years and never experienced this before. And in June 2016 I find a hole in the seam on the back of the driver chair. My instinct tell me that it is a weak material/stitching but also a weak joint in the manufacturing of the chair itself. Toyota tell me its the material and will change the seat cover. Today 21 June 2016 I drop my car off at the service centre. I stress my concern on the weakness of the chair itself. I pick my car up and they havent changed the cover, they have ordered a new back for the seat. I was right, it was a fault in the chair itself. Shame on Toyota. They were always right up there with safety. Now Im not so sure. This seat would have crumpled had I been in an accident. I describe this car as ascetically lovely but cheap manufacturing. I would never have said this pre this car.

This is a great car. It has all of necessities that I think of a car should come equipped with. It has great fuel mileage. Theres a nice smooth ride and a lot of extra perks. Its not too low to the ground so you dont feel like youre sitting on the ground. It also has a large trunk enough space to comfortably fit 5 people. And everything inside is touchscreen. This car also comes in a ton of different colors and you can completely customize it any way you want. Not to mention affordable. And I love the way this car is easy to handle. Its a very nice overall car to have. But I would like to see more features on the vehicle well that would make it more appealing to people who like technology. I would also like it do defrost work faster because here in the cold winter months it takes forever to thaw your car out.

Its a good car for a woman or a single owner who will not be rough or abuse it. If handled well and maintained regularly, it will perform well and never let you down. I feel safe when Im driving it.

It is my favorite. Its not a bad car. I wouldnt trade the 2010 Toyota in for nothing, not even a car worth more money. Even if I could trade it in for a better model. Yes, the model is older but sometimes that means better to some people like me. As long as it runs, Im good with it. The radio sounds great even. When the crap channels come on, it makes them sound better which is great because that makes it easier to bear listening to them. And the seats - theyre really great and comfortable.

I have owned 3 Toyotas and have always had excellent experiences with them. I love The quality you get when you purchase a Toyota. They have a reputation to last a long time and be reliable. And you see a lot of older Toyotas still on the road. After my first Toyota I decided I would stay with them on my next purchase. And I have not been disappointed with my decision to buy another one. I currently have the Toyota RAV4 and the only thing I dont care for is the size of the gas tank. I feel like every time I turnaround I am having to find a gas station.

No ONE in the finance picks up and can’t get anyone on phone to help. There are no branch managers or assistant managers past 5 pm. So ridiculous how you are open and no manager. Well, it is a Toyota so I bought a 2019 Avalon XLE Hybrid primarily for its reliability. However, it has two major flaws. Firstly, it is supposed to provide 43 mpg, but actually it is a lot less. Currently, it is 34.6 mpg. Secondly, for a pretty luxurious car I expected it to have all the safety features for which Toyota is famous. Unfortunately, it turned out that it is missing Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Parking Assist. When I called Toyota and asked if these features could be installed, I was told that it was too complicated. Big disappointment.

I always had a good trust in Toyotas reliability but no more. I bought 4 Toyota cars in different times and my first car was new Corolla 1983. The last car Camry 2009 which has engine consuming oil problem. Toyota refused to address the issue. I further researched on the net that Camry engines year 2007 to 2011 has same problem and Toyota is less of care. Finding excuses not to fix the issue. All Camry owners are suffering. The problem started after standard warranty was expired. In 2014 Toyota after a class action suit filed by the Camry owners to extend a warranty program which has lot of loop holes and many owners still couldnt avail it and Im one of them. Toyota corporate refused to address the issue. I think the best thing is to stop buying Toyota as it is no more reliable car. Toyota is anyway most expensive to its competitors I.e. Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda etc. I will not ever buy/lease Toyota anymore.

I purchased my 2018 Camry XSE 3 weeks ago and I love. Only thing I don’t like is that a remote start doesn’t come standard. After paying that amount of money I thought it would have remote start seeing as other cars of different makes and models but are sedans do have the remote start. I think it comes on the XSE V6 but that car is about $4000 more than my car. Toyota should be ashamed for not making that standard.

My 2007 Toyota Camry - 10 years and the car is still going strong! There was two problems with the car, but these were caused by mechanics at the dealership and NOT by the Toyota factory. Another dealership heard my complaints and fixed the car at NO charge to me without any arguing! They even paid for a rental car! Some say Toyota is boring, I guess if you like a car that never breaks down, then I suppose it is boring! The car just keeps driving without problems, oh, how boring is that! The car was bought 50% on a Toyota Loan. I made my payments for the first year until I received some other money and was allowed to pay the remainder of the loan without further interest and/or penalties. It was a very fair and easy plan to follow. Reason for my review; It is important to not confuse the car with the dealership, that is to say, some dealerships are better than others.

Several months ago, my wife took our Rav-4 to the dealership for regular service- an oil change. My wife calls me later on to inform the car had leaked oil out onto the driveway and adjacent road. The dealerships service department had cross-threaded the oil filter, causing the leakage. Several months later we received a bill from the dealership for towing and the rental car (they gave us a rental and hauled the car back to the dealership on a rollback). We, are afraid to do further business with Toyota or, their dealer. Nothing preventing them from loosing a few transmission bolts, engine, etc. Bottom line, Toyota, could care less about the disingenuousness of their partnership counterpart - i.e., the dealer. Sadly, this has caused us to consider having to get rid of the vehicle due to these unresolved issues, lack of service, lack of product support and, moreover, lack of professionalism. I am very, very disappointed. We, will never purchase another Toyota based upon this experience. As for the Toyota corporation, they stated there was nothing they could do, it was a privately owned dealership. Really? I, mean, really.

It could accelerate and stop okay. Also side to side was fine. On the highway it drive same as the other cars. It handled okay at high speeds. But I once had to take it to Toyota because I notice the headlights stay on during drives. Then, sometimes the battery would get too hot and I need to pull over to let it cool off. Unfortunately a header cracked in our Highlanders engine and caused the entire engine to blow at less than 84,000 miles. As the mechanic at the Toyota dealership put it, This shouldnt have happened. After contacting the Customer Experience Department I was told that financial assistance in these situations is based upon customer loyalty and service records. We own a second Toyota that was purchased at a Toyota dealership a few years prior to our Highlander.Additionally, I offered to provide my service records but the Customer Experience Department already decided they werent going to help us recover any of the loss. The cost to replace the engine was $7,500. Toyota could have easily offered to pay $2,000 of the cost and kept me as a customer but apparently making intelligent business decisions is not a top priority for the Customer Experience Department. In total I gave Toyota over $60,000 for two automobiles in the last 7 years. My wife and I are in our 30s which means we will probably purchase another 10 cars in our lifetime. If half of those were Toyotas at an average cost of $30,000, that is $150,000 in revenue they just gave up because they refuse to assist a loyal customer. Congratulations Toyota, I will never buy another one of your automobiles again! You have officially lost me as a customer for life.

They were talking about my contract and which line of the contract indicates that I am still forced to pay interest charge if I dont make any payments. I mean are they stupid? So, I brought a brand new Toyota Highlander 2017 in Louisiana. About half a year later, my family and I moved to Indiana. That when we start to go to local dealership to get our car check for every 5,000 miles. After about the fifth time we go there, they told us that the nitrogen metal valve stem caps have melted or got stuck in the tire so they cant get the tire pressure reading. They told us that we have to pay $600 to get THREE of them fixed. But that is just straight up dumb, the warranty should have paid for it. We have a 3 year warranty on the car. But, they were just repeating themselves and not offering any help. They were saying how Toyota doesnt put metal valve stem caps in their cars and they put plastic caps so it dont cease. They told us that we have to call the dealership that we brought it from to tell them about it and what to do. Well, we called the dealership and they said that they do put metal valve stem caps, but it is insulated so it dont get stuck in the tire. Pretty much both dealerships were being jerks and not admitting whose fault it is and making us pay $600 while it was clearly one of thems fault. It was a terrible experience.

From the time we walked on to that lot was a nightmare. I should have turned around. First off, while making a deal for a trading my vehicle they kept my car key. I asked several times for my key back so I could leave. Not sure if they thought this was a tactic. Rest assure it was not. After about 1.5 hours of waiting (they would keep going back to GET MY KEY) and coming back empty handed we finally agreed to some numbers and went through with the trade/sale. We paid $2,600 for an extended PLATINUM TOYOTA warranty that was to EXTEND the warranty 100,000 miles. Once we were done, we were about to leave and we asked for the pre-certified paperwork. They tried to tell me that it was pre-certified. I looked at the windshield-huge sign that said-PRE-CERTIFIED. It was well under the mileage and the year was 2014. We had to fight to get that paperwork. Then they had to have ME bring the vehicle back to THEIR lot a week and a half later to COMPLETE the pre-certification inspection. THEY NEVER DID A PRE-CERTIFIED INSPECTION? On top of that, took the vehicle in about 1 year later due to the fan on the AC going out. The guy told me that it was almost out of warranty. Are you kidding me? We paid $2,600 for an extra 100,000 miles and I sure as hell know that we did not get even close to the original 100,000 miles. Later that week my husband called to talk to them. He got the runaround (I am sure most of you know exactly what I am talking about here). Sooo, he went to the car lot. He was able to talk with the RODNEY **-SALES AIDA **-CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER and the finance guy and he told my husband that he was sorry that he made a mistake on the information he gave us that day! What??? So he and my husband called to Toyota finance office and the lady said Yeah this is suppose to have an extended (EXTENDED) warranty. The finance guy told my husband that he will email the information to him that day. About an hour after my husband got home he still did not have an email with that EXTENDED warranty. So he called the finance guy. He was told Oh, I am sorry I can not honor that extended warranty. Are you ** kidding me??? Then we called to cancel the extended warranty and were told well since you have used 3/4 of the warranty you will be prorated at 1/4 of the $2,600 we paid for it. WTF Explain this to me... and I am a blonde but am smart enough to know we do NOT need to warranty 100,00 miles we ALREADY have warrantied. Why in the HELL would we pay $2,600 for 100,000 mile warranty when we have the FACTORY 100,000 mile warranty? We would NOT do that. We were to have an EXTENDED warranty. Do they even know the definition of EXTENDED?Hell no, they do not know crap. I will never step foot back on their lot or any lot they are associated with. They purposely lied and deceived us, the finance guy admitted it. But still got screwed. The least they could have done was given us the $$2,600 we paid for a warranty that we ALREADY ** had. WARNING---STAY AWAY FROM FAYETTEVILLE AUTO PARK--- I will tell you who to go see..the guys at McLarty Daniels. My son and husband bought trucks from them within 3 months of each other. Amazing people! One made a mistake...owned up to it...and corrected it!!! They have *****5 STARS***** from me!

I bought a used 2006 Toyota RAV 4 for 1200 dollars. The miles were already getting up there but I could tell by the look of the car the previous owner had taken care of it. I have 4 kids who take every red cent to raise and this car was within my budget. But I thought if I got a year out of it to beat back and forth to work then it would serve its purpose. It would be a 1200 well spent. Id love to say that when I bought this car I took care of it just like the previous owner, but that would be a lie. I beat the car to hell, I didnt change the oil once in 4 years, not a filter or spark plug. I did nothing for this car the entire time I owned it except replace tires to pass inspection, replace wheel bearings, and put gas in it. This year I took it to be inspected and there is rust on the gas tank and other places and repairs would cost about 1000 dollars. I cant see spending 1000 dollars on a car that basically cost me as much. And there are over 375,000 miles on the thing now. But the engine is still going and the problems are all outside of it. I would love to see if I could hit half a million with this car and I think I probably could. Its a beast. And one of the best cars I have ever owned. Honestly I treated it so badly I dont know how its still running. But it is. Best car I have ever owned. Sadly I will be looking for a new beater for work as I cant doing the repairs makes any sense. But I would recommend this car to anyone.

I received my Toyota Yaris 2007 (sedan) as a Christmas gift while in High school in 2010. At the time it only had 26k miles on it, now it has 185k and shows no signs of giving out. Between high school, college, road trips, and long daily commutes, I have put this car through the wringer! Outside of routine oil changes, I haven’t had to spend much on maintenance. I have had to replace the belts a few times, brakes twice (first shop did it wrong and did not even replace nor check the rear brakes), and now it needs a new wheel bearing. I would say that’s pretty good for such a small car with high mileage. I am now looking for another car because I have a little one and the compact size does not agree with a growing toddler. But I won’t be trading in this car. I’ll be passing it down to my niece. Toyota really does prioritize dependability!

I purchased a new vehicle from Toyota last year. The vehicle came with one bad tire. Getting that one tire replaced was a complete nightmare. Since that FINALLY happened, after much drama, I still have to deal with service. Again, a horrible experience on all counts. NEVER again will I buy a Toyota vehicle. Dealing with this company is like dealing with children or used car salesmen all day, every day. The dealerships do whatever they want and Toyota throws their hands up and says they can do nothing. Wouldnt recommend buying a Toyota folks!

Also I was told after the fact that theres some kind rodent tape I could put on it after they replace the harness at my cost or turn it into our insurance and we still pay our deductible! Toyota should be a shamed of their self. I had a used 4 runner for 7+yrs and never had any major issues. Which is why we purchased the new one. This issue many people are having and toyota doesnt want to cover it under warranty is ridiculous! So disappointed! Get the rodent tape before your wires are bare!! Beware vehicle owners!

We leased a brand new 2019 Toyota Sienna XLE and after a few weeks it got a terrible mold smell. After being in the dealership shop for a few weeks we were told that it had a leak in the sealant by the side panel which was causing rainwater to leak in and gather underneath the mat by the driver seat. There was lots of mold growing there. Its unbelievable how a car can come off the Toyota assembly line this way. All our car seats, Clothing and personal belongings developed a terrible mold smell and had to be thrown out. Toyota didnt even care to reimburse us for the personal damage that we incurred or to reimburse us for our monthly payments. In other words we had to pay monthly payments to Toyota while we had a moldy car that wasnt drive-able. They told us if we dont make our payments they will ruin our credit. The car also caused us terrible embarrassment since we smelled from mold after exiting the van. After driving the vehicle we would shower and change our clothing in order not to smell and get embarrassment comments from others. We felt like we were dealing with a big company that couldnt care less about their small customers.

It also had automatic transportation and good on gasoline. I very much like the fate that it has had no mechanical problems and is a small wheel base car for parking and quick turnaround. However, I would liked to have a GPS, automatic speed control, a much more comfortable seat, with satellite and inner wireless connection. Also, my car color is maroon and it gets hotter in the sun.

I had to cancel a road/camping trip that I had planned and outfitted my new truck to go on. Also, had to keep going to their rental department to renew their loaner car- time and money spent doing so. Was disappointed and contacted customer service to see what they could do to make it right. Got the complete chase your own tail from their customer service. LONG on hold wait times, rude and dishonest customer care agents, no help, run around, waste of time. Did nothing to make my experience better. My third new Toyota that I had purchased, and I generally like the product, but I will never buy another vehicle from Toyota purely because of how I was treated and their total lack of customer care.

I took Toyota Sequoia in for Takeda Air Bag recall... Left unable to access the back of the car. I asked if they could check the back trunk of car since the air conditioning might be leaking. They broke the back handle to open the trunk off and CLAIMED it was missing when I dropped the car off. Funny thing is at 6:30 am when I took a case of water out of the back it was just fine. The service manager, Jason said, It is an old car, things break. My appointment was at 7 am, it was there and working at 6:30. Strange? I said they broke and need to fix it and he said that he will not, unless of course, I want to pay. They broke it, I am positive. I asked if they had cameras so we could look at the footage (of them breaking it) and conveniently my car was outside, not near any cameras.I opened a complaint with Toyota Corporate and other than they are lovely to speak with they did not care at all. They are kind and continue to say how sorry they are for this negative experience but claim there is nothing they can do to assist me. I ended up purchasing the part from another Toyota dealer for $129.00. They were unable to install due to their schedule (keep in mind I have been unable to open the trunk for weeks now), so I took it to local repair shop for another $160. My airbag recall cost me! When I told Toyota Corporate numerous times I felt they should cover my cost they said they are sorry but cannot help! Seriously? I told them I have receipts I can give them... nothing. They are like talking to the wall. The dealership (Glen Toyota in Fair Lawn NJ) told Toyota Corporate they offered to install without charging labor, just charging for parts. They did NOT offer this. They offered nothing but rather insisted they did not break it.

Purchased my Tundra new in 2002. I cared for this truck inside and out except when it came to my rusted and unsafe frame. My truck is in excellent mechanical condition and I get a lot of compliments on its appearance. Everything works great with 107,000 miles logged. My mechanic says he probably will not be able to pass the truck for inspection within a year or so. His advise, get rid of it and trade it in. I usually like to sell my trucks outright but he says that I will create a bad situation to sell it to a friend or a private party. So, I have driven Toyota cars all my life and I really take care of them. There is nothing wrong with this truck! Because of the safety issue I will need to trade my vehicle (while I still can) on years before I should need to. Toyota claims there is nothing they can do and its my problem. Bottom line, I will never purchase or lease another Toyota vehicle and will let my children, friends and others know. Bad customer service! Toyota has lost a customer(s) for life. Penny wise and dollar foolish.

June 2018 I bought my wife a 2010 Toyota Sequoia Platinum. Being a mechanic I asked all of the questions about the service history of the one I was buying. I was told that it had never had any issues, trouble codes, wrecked, or anything. Within the first month the check engine light came on. My wife thought that it meant low oil so she took it to a Jiffy Lube. They performed the normal oil change service and scanned the computer to see why the engine light was on. They told her that it had a history of setting off the check engine light & trouble codes for the air injection system & that the dealer charges about $4000 to fix that, so they just keep clearing the code, which clears the engine light, and sold it to us without fixing the problem. At the time it had 145,000 miles and was within the warranty (that we didnt know about). The dealer told us that there was not a warranty and kept trying to sell us an aftermarket warranty when we bought it. My wife told me that she got the oil changed & the paperwork was in the console, without telling me everything else. Now: two months ago it did it again but put it in limp home mode. It is now setting in my pasture broken down & waiting for repair because Toyota refuses to fix it under warranty because it is now 154000 miles, 4000 beyond the warranty, even though we bought it within the warranty mileage and it messed up right away and showed a history of having this problem before we bought it from the dealer. This is my first and Last Toyota I will ever own. I should not have to jump through hoops or have to hire an attorney to sue them to make them stand behind their product.

So back in 2017 I had an auto accident where I was found not at fault and I was given a large sum of cash from my insurance to help pay for a new vehicle. During the time of obtaining the funds I decided to try to head back to Toyota and get another Toyota Camry Hybrid as this was my all time favorite vehicle and to this date and time still is.Well needless to say me and my wife head down here and I was approached immediately which I told one rep I was here to buy a new Toyota Camry Hybrid. He attempted to ask me sales pitch questions like whats my number or figure I am looking at with cash down and what kind of payment. I immediately told him to give me time to go over the features in the vehicle, colors available, and pricing. The sales guy agreed and showed me the lot and long story short he once more once near the vehicles asked me again about price, down payment, cash or financing and I cut him off and said, Look I wont say that right now, because I need to see the vehicles and colors. Once I located the one I wanted I simply asked what is the overall price of the vehicle I found. He then tried to gain more information on what I wanted and again cash flow.I told my wife we were leaving. I am not going to waste my time with this guy. I simply never dealt with this before as this must have been a new tactic by this particular person, but the last sales guy I dealt with was not even close to being this ignorant or pushy. I went to another dealer which was not the same model I wanted, but nonetheless I did not deal with any of the aggravation I dealt with here. The reason I kept this information from the sales guy was simple. They use that information against customers. Colors, features, cash down, and financing is easy to push a higher valued vehicle with more features than I wanted or needed. I know this, because my Uncle was a Salesman and taught me what they do. All I simply wanted to do was point out the vehicle I wanted to explain all the details afterwards.

I have owned 5 different Toyotas for over 20 years and can not believe what corporate told me about my 2018 automatic transmission problem. Because I live in Wisconsin we can have problems with tires spinning on snowy days. Toyota said that because my cars front tires spun and the back tires did not move that the broken transmission was my fault. It has less than 25000 miles and should have been covered under their bumper to bumper warranty. They say they will pay for the transmission BUT I must pay for the labor cost of over $800. All sounds fishy to me. On top of it Toyota corporate says that if the same conditions occur in the future I should call for a tow and not spin tires at all! They say they will deny any future claim, under the same circumstances, as they are this one. They, also, could not (or would not?) tell me what part of the transmission is broken. I plan on going on social media to warn any potential owners of 2018 and beyond Toyota autos with automatic transmission, if you live in cold climates please think twice about buying one of their cars. It could be a crap shoot for you!

I bought my wife a 2016 Toyota Highlander AWD Platinum at the end of August. She told me she was having to clean her seats every week because of color transfer onto the leather. Turns out, any color other than white or beige was transferring to the seat. I contacted the dealer. They offered to clean the seats. I told them I needed a better solution than bringing it into constantly be cleaned. I also reminded they that I expressed concerns about the leather color and was reassured of Toyotas high quality. So they offered to have the seats reupholstered for $2000 or to trade it in and pay $3500-$4000 for the same vehicle with a different interior. At this point I have only had the vehicle for 2200 miles and 3 months. Since I didnt agree to the terms the dealership gave me the Toyota number to call. I called, they asked that I take to a local dealership to be evaluated. The Service Manager said Toyota knows this is a problem and he cant do anything because they wont do anything. He even called Toyota Corporate number and explained that I was the 3rd customer this month with the same issue. The representative then tells us that if its not deemed a defective then nothing can be done. I asked to speak to someone else. I was told I could write a letter. So at this point I told the representative that I bought a product in good faith and it is unreasonable to have to clean it every week. She then told me she has explained Toyotas position. I told her I wanted to exercise my right to file an arbitration. She said someone would contact me in 3 days.A person from Toyota contacted me and told me he was going to act as my advocate. I explained my situation and he said he would contact the Toyota Distributor. About a 2 weeks later he calls me back and tells me the Distributor and Toyotas stance is that this is not a defect so no action is required. This Advocate didnt even call the right Distributor, but quickly dismissed me by saying it didnt matter. So I once again said I want to file an arbitration. He told me that Toyota would not find cause for me to file an arbitration.I told him that was not Toyotas decision to make and that I am entitled to file an arbitration. I wonder if this was the same position they took when people called to complain about their cars accelerating and causing accidents. Toyotas answer to taking care of the customer is simple... Distributor- pay more money for the same thing. Q` Toyota Corporate- if it has not been deemed a defect then we dont care. I have owned 5 Toyotas, but this lack of customer care tells me a lot about the current company I am dealing with. Toyota use to take pride in their products, but not anymore.

Because I have a Sequoia platinum they say they wont fix it. There are lots of people with Sequoias and Highlanders whose paint is peeling off. I have a 60000$ car that the paint is falling off. That sure doesnt do much for trade in value but, they dont care. I am still going to fight this. Its the paint that is bad not the car.

My car that had high mileage I sold was 2004 Toyota Echo. Also a stellar performer. This Toyota Yaris was an acquisition as my mom is 94 and is bed bound so this became mine and it is a 2007 with only 25,000 miles on it. I did have to bring it to Toyota for a few recalls and had dialogue with them about some defective cables they said were ok but since the 2007 dont install anymore? But all in all she handles great. A little 2 door hatch back I will drive till shes dead! Cheers!

Bought a new Toyota Rav4 premium and once it got on the highway the cabin noise is just too much. I drive all the time and it sounds like air is getting in, I can assure no air is getting in the car. Just want to return the car. This car was bought less than 24hr ago as I write this complaint. The GM was suppose to meet with me but conveniently left and no one told me and left me at a table just sitting there waiting. The sales person I had been dealing with was really no help.Syed is his name. There is nothing they can do to fix the noise in the cabin of the car, it is what it is. But I shouldnt be stuck with a car I dont love. Customer service is about retention and not just money. Which is what it feels like it is. I need help returning the car. The gm Cody ** left knowing I was there to talk to him and didnt acknowledge me at any point. Quite frustrating to have the gm treat you like that when a consumer just purchased a vehicle. All they did was technically make me own the car longer today which I dont know if that matters or not. But if it does, then it was a very malicious move on their part. Again all I want is to return the car and buy something I love. Not something that isnt a great product for me. Not a single person pointed out the cabin noise to me directly and I find that to be reckless and predatory onto consumers.

I bought this 2010 Toyota Sequoia over a year ago with 100000 miles. It is white, which is easy to keep clean. It has been very dependable so far. It has never stranded me and I love the moonroof and the audio system too. It also handles well for a large vehicle and I feel safe in this vehicle. But it only gets about 15 miles per gallon and it is expensive to operate. It is also hard to park due to its gigantic size. I wish it had some other features on it like a keyless entry. But Toyota is a very good brand.

In 2015 I went to a dealership in Lawrence, KS where I was approved for a car loan for the RAV-4 hybrid. In hindsight I am not sure I should have been approved for the loan. I told them how much I thought I could afford a month with insurance included. They quoted me a price, when I said I couldnt afford the insurance the floor manager said that he would make a phone call then sold me liability insurance. He said I didnt need comprehensive insurance only liability. After a few months I realized I couldnt afford the payments. I went to the dealership in the new state I was living to ask for advice about what to do in my situation. They insisted that I go in person to speak with one of their sales reps. When I arrived the sales rep I was assigned was relentless. I got flustered, I had mentioned several times I needed to leave to take the night to think about what to do however, I ended up leaving with a car I didnt want. I was a single mom, my daughter was getting restless. When signing the paperwork we looked into switching the insurance plan over to the new car, that is when I was told that legally I was required to have full coverage insurance on a car if you have a loan. In the end I left with a car I didnt want because I thought it would be affordable but cost me the same. Since I have had this car (2016 Prius), the handle came off when I went to open the door. The dealership said they wouldnt cover the cost because they determined it had come off due to someone forcefully opening the door. Three years after having the car the AC stopped working. I was told it was due to the air conditioning radiator damper servo sub assembly malfunctioning. I was told again that Toyota would not cover the cost to repair it and it would cost me over $1,000 to repair it. I do claim responsibility for my naivete and for not educating myself more before walking into a car dealership. My experience was not great. I suspect the dealership in Lawrence is manipulating paperwork to give loans to people who would otherwise not be approved for those loans. And erroneously advising customers to purchase liability insurance. I will never buy from Toyota again. I would never advise anyone to.

Toyota is a strong brand of vehicle. They have had recalls in the past but so has many others. Yet they continue to strive for the better. I have been taken good cared of by the company. For maintenance, you just have to find a good dealership or shop because that is where it can all go south! Which I have encountered recently. It can be bad when you are failed in that way. Parts do not have to always be factory parts for your vehicle to survive which will make it at times easier on the pocket. The overall conclusion is be a safe and careful driver. Dont fully depend on others to tell you if something is wrong with your vehicle. Check it often and you will have a happy vehicle!

This 1991 Toyota pickup truck has good gas mileage. This truck takes knocks and bumps great. This truck always starts no matter what the weather. They seem to run forever. Ive had many people at gas pumps offering to buy it. It is 4 WD and gets through mud and snow easily. Its a stick shift so it can be push started without getting a jump. This pickup truck gets good gas mileage and is easy to handle and drive. It has the perfect amount of bed space as well as cab space for me. This truck is easy to work on and its easy to find parts for which are inexpensive. The insurance is also low for a vehicle as well as the taxes and tags. It is so sound. I only wish there were more of them. The thing I did not like about this truck is how the seatbelts are. They are placed in a way that they cut across your neck and no kind of seatbelt comfort aid helps this. I put a clamp on mine at the part where it retracts.

My name is Viren ** and I bought my Venza AWD from Canada brand new with top model and I paid about 46000 Canadian dollar and I took extended warranty for 7 years bumper to bumper. My bad luck that I moved to USA for my business and I didnt know that if I register my vehicle from Canada to USA then all warranty void. And it gone. I paid for my warranty about 2100 dollar and I never use it. They gave me back about 600 dollar in 2015, at that time my car mileage was 68000 kms (about 42000miles). After that I start servicing and oil change in Greenville Toyota for my both car Sienna limited and Venza. I used to pay for just oil about 90 dollar which is too costly. So I start to buy oil from Autozone and one of mechanic he change it for me with 15 dollar labor.Recently 2 week ago I was driving my Venza from 40 to 60 mile zone and suddenly I heard a bad noise and start to come out little smoke. So I just stopped on road and try to check it out and I found that lots of oil was leaking and my car couldnt start again so I towed to Greenville Toyota. They people diagnosis and told me that, Your engine block has hole so your engine is gone and now you have to replace it and cost will be about 7100 dollar. I was shocked, before that never I got any engine light indication and suddenly this happened. I talked with Toyota customer service and try to help me out and how come just 64000 mile engine can gone. And they told me that might be there will be lubricating problem with engine so that is happened. Because of I never did service with them since 2016 so. If I used to service with them then they can try to say something else but never say that about machine faulty or bad parts. I read review online about Venza engine and people says that VVT-i engine is famous to with bad impression. After that I went to Hendricks Honda in Greenville and just ask them about the cost of fixing my car and they gave me quote is 5100 dollar with 3 years or 36000 mile warranty on engine. So I moved my car from GREENVILLE TOYOTA TO HONDA. Today my car is fixed by Honda just like brand new. I used to big fan of Toyota and I am driving Toyota both my vehicle since 2008 but this incident and response from Toyota. I will never buy Toyota vehicle and I will never went to Greenville Toyota. My Venza is low mileage car and driven by my wife all the time just in town and still this happen with luxuries car for I paid almost 50000 dollar and company say your power train warranty from company expired on 60000 mile so we cant do anything. From my experience I learnt that nowadays Toyota has to commitment with customer like used to be. So think about it to buy a vehicle from Toyota. I would prefer to go to Honda or some other car company who can provide good service and at least accept any defect if there.

After 500 miles of nice quiet motor started to notice slight ticking/rattle noise. The more miles that were driven the louder the noise /rattle become, especially when its cold. Pulled up to my bank drive-thru and they asked what the noise was and did I buy a diesel. Truck only has 2800 miles on it and already took it to 2 different Toyota dealers only for them to say that it was a high-pressure fuel pump and no way to fix it. Why if this is how its supposed to be was it such a nice quiet truck when I 1st bought it. Almost 3000 miles later and Im totally ashamed to drive it. If a fuel pump comes into my repair shop sounding like that I replace them and customer is happy. Ive owned Toyotas for over 20 years will never buy another one. Buyer Beware!

I purchased a 2018 Toyota Highlander Ltd Platinum from Classic Toyota in Tyler Texas. My Toyota purchased was based on commercial and current owner reviews. Other than the “color transfer” issue (dyes from my years old and routinely washed scrubs and jeans coming off on the leather seats), I’ve been relatively happy with the car. The thing that has driven me crazy are the electronics. I came from a BMW, that was too small and uncomfortable, but drove great and I guess I got spoiled by their electronics. I could have 2 phones connected and receive calls on either of them on Bluetooth. Not on the Highlander (JBL GreenEdge). It takes 5 or 6 button pushes (while I’m driving!) to change from one paired phone to another. It also occasionally just drops the phone in the middle of a call and I have to reconnect. The weather app also is rudimentary, at best. It never gives me the weather for the area I’m in. If I’m in downtown Dallas, it gives me the weather for Terrell, TX (40 miles away, a 10th the size of Dallas, and a town I’ve never looked up on my weather app)!!! I called Entune (a cumbersome worthless app IMHO) support. She was very pleasant, but completely useless. She looked at the manual. I read the manual! I needed more! Apparently Toyota doesn’t offer more than a crappy inefficient app, bad connectivity, and a GPS (for the weather) that hopefully doesn’t have to ever locate you in case of an accident!

It was a Saturday and I was traveling so they put in a replacement (not Toyota) but it had a lifetime warranty. The alternator went bad within a year. I went to my local dealer - Bob Smith for help. The service manager Brian instructed the service writer Frank to charge $300 for the labor on the replacement. I was charged $155 for labor in Flagstaff and argued this point. I even called another local So Cal Toyota dealer, gave them my VIN # and they quoted $155 as the fee for the labor.I asked Frank again, he said he can only do what Brian tells him. I said, “Look Ive been a loyal customer for 17 years. I know you are expensive but really surprised at the dishonesty.” They finally lowered the fee to $250 but kept insisting that changing an alternator takes 3 hours. I also called Toyota complaint department to file a complaint and was given a case # but no follow up there either. Very disappointed by this transaction.

We don’t carry our payoff of our vehicle in our pocket so I gave an estimate which he should have followed up with a 10 day payoff. Now I am receiving harassing phone calls and texts messages at my job on this. Legacy Toyota is very unprofessional and they don’t think of the buyer. I cant begin to tell you enough about how awesome this car is. It is fun to drive, easy to maintain, and every single functioning piece of equipment is of the best quality I have ever owned. I have all the Toyota Camry in the past and it was awesome as well. The only thing that this car could not withstand was one time when I was unfortunately stuck up on a block ice and snow that the plows left on the road on an exit ramp in the dark. Somehow when I hit the snowbank a sensor fell off the bumper but it remained dangling inside the bumper for a very long time whilst I tried to figure out why my car was not running right. All I had to do was snap the sensor back in the bumper and my entire vehicle runs like new again. The strange thing was that the misplaced sensor caused my engine to idle rough and not give enough air to the engine.

I have owned two Toyota Camrys (1999 & 2005). The 1999 was a V6. I dont need to be specific other than to say, if you want drive a car that can easily last more than 200,000 without the expensive repairs, this is the brand to consider. Toyota should definitely earn the Most Reliable Japanese Car award. Look around when youre driving. What do you see most? Toyotas, BMWs, Hondas, etc. I dont remember any rental car companies that use Toyotas, which means every Toyota you see on the road are either owned or leased, and not rented. (I might be wrong, btw.) So, something for you to consider the next time youre in the market to buy cars.Tip to all the Toyota owners: If your mechanic tells you something is bad and your has less than 75,000 miles, he is lying to you. I have brought my Toyotas to many local shops (to save money from dealerships exaggerated cost for repairs) and they have suggested to replace the water pump, the radiator, this or that. I was wary and skeptical with their scare tactic approach, so I didnt fix it at that time. Now, 7 years later and with 127,000 miles, its still running smoothly. Of course, you still have your routine maintenance that needs to be replaced every few years (air filter, tires, batteries, etc). One mechanic told me, A Toyota with less than 100,000 is still considered almost new. You just have to make sure to change your oil every three to four thousand miles and tune up your car every now and then. These are his words, not mine. My owner manual states every 5000 miles for each oil change, but I think that also depends on how you drive it and how frequent it is driven. You can save a lot of $$$ if you buy it used.Bottom line is, if you want a car for the long-haul of saving money for many years to come, you should definitely consider buying a Toyota. Now, sometimes I wonder why Toyota owners even own Toyotas. I know I drive it because this car was handed down to me and Im just waiting for it to break down. I mean, lets face it: Tundra drivers dont drive it to haul stuff. (There are many other stronger trucks.) You cant show off your social status with an Avalon. (Again, there are way more other choices.) You cant pick up girls with Camrys. (Not sporty enough to be a sport car and not luxury enough to be a high-class car.) A Corolla is good for what? Prius are well-known for their electric cars, which have been in high demand this past decade. In my opinion, I think you will want to get rid of your Toyota before it will stop working on you.

Toyota - Very good on gas mileage, long lasting motor life and really a great investment for work or travel vehicle. Awesome value while driving low fuel expenses. Comfortable and great for long or short rides. You get more than the moneys worth, through and through. However, I dont like the thin fiberglass. Im worried about the safety and with the size. The compact design is also quite scary when on highways and interstates. Comparing to semis, trucks, vans, it is quite overwhelming where there are large vehicles. Toyota Canada Inc. Head Office 1 Toyota Place, Toronto ON, M1H 1H9. I have been reluctant since last year to write to you about the horrible service I received from your maintenance people who serviced my 2007 Matrix. It all started with a rhythmic feeling in the right side of the tire area. It was determined that the bearing had to be replaced and it was for $450. The problem was still there and I took it back and was told that it most likely was the left side bearing. Again a senior technician looked at it and told Charlene that it was tire cupping that was causing the problem. As I was at Costco I had brand new front tires ($400) installed.Absolutely no change in the feeling in front end as well as losing a pair of decent front tires. I felt foolish and taken for a ride at your dealership. I had to go somewhere and I took it to JD auto and they found the problem with the calipers as one of the pistons was seized and was biting into the rotor. Again more cost to me to replace all front breaks because your people did not do their job properly, I am very very reluctant to visit for any more maintenance for fear of not getting proper repairs without fear. Up to the time of these problems with your dealership I had no problems and was very happy with my visits and the friendly receptions. I have had muffler and parts installed since with JD Auto because of my distrust and reluctance to take my vehicle to your dealership. If you look up my maintenance records, you will see that I used you exclusively until last year because of my trust with the maintenance and repairs.I have since had a telephone conversation with Darrell but he just didn’t understand the ramifications on losing this consumer for new vehicles or maintenance. Since he has only been on his job for 8 months he would not commit to “what can I do for you” with what he could do for me. We left it at that. All the mistakes made at the repairs eventually cost me over 1300 dollars for no reason. Shameful for Toyota. No longer will I be looking for a Toyota product because of this incident.

In the last six years I have had Rodent Damage to the wiring of my Toyota vehicles (Toyota Tundra 2007 and Toyota Corolla 2010). I have had one to two claims per year since 2013 (no claims for 2014) for a total of seven claims. I didnt pull my records back any further for the Toyota vehicles. The damage varies from approximately $700 to $1500 per claim. My deductible is one hundred dollars each for a total of $700 to me for that time period. Now it has happened again and I got a letter from my insurance company stating it is going to raise all my deductibles to $1000 each, not just my comprehensive coverage. All indications are this is an Industry wide problem because the wiring has been changed to soy based insulation and all the critters love to eat this stuff. Before 2007 for the previous 27 years, no wire damage. I had Chevy and Dodge before the insulation change and had no wire damage. I had my Chevy and Dodge vehicles both for 10 years or more each parked in the same location as my Toyota vehicles. I have taken all the precautions to prevent rodents by placing repellents, traps and poison boxes out to eradicate the vermin. Honda has Rodent Tape available at their parts department to wrap the wires. Whats that tell you. (The tape is also now available at Amazon.) I have been wrapping the damaged repaired wires. This seems to work for about a year. The tape must lose its potency in that time at least that is about how long they go with no wire damage.I see there are class action lawsuits in progress at this time for this problem. In the meantime I am at a loss for what to do short of parking on an electric grid that electrocutes anything that approaches my vehicles. I mention this because such a product was in the development stages on a GoFundMe in the UK. Sad to say it didnt get into production. It was called RatMat Rat Repellent Electrified Flooring. To wrap it up, the danger of wires being damaged is loss of safety devices built into the vehicle such as anti-lock brakes.
