Mercedes-Benz AMG One hits the Ring in possible record attempt preparation
Posted On: August 3, 2022
Mercedes-Benz AMG in June finally revealed the production version of the One hypercar, and the first examples will be delivered to eagerly awaiting customers later this year—a five-year wait since the reveal of the concept at the 2017 Frankfurt International Motor Show. AMG has boasted the One will come close to matching the performance of Formula 1 and top-level sports prototype race cars out on the track, and you can bet a lap record for production cars at the Nürburgring is on the agenda. The time to beat is 6:43.61, set by AMG's own GT Black Series in 2020. Right on cue, the hybrid hypercar was spotted this week testing hard at the 'Ring. It's possible the team at AMG are fine tuning things and monitoring sector times in preparation for a record attempt. Interestingly, former AMG chief Tobias Moers in early 2018 said the One had the potential to beat the longstanding all-out record of 6:11.13 set in 1983 by a Porsche 956 race car with Stefan Bellof behind the wheel. A few months after Moers made the comment, Porsche took its 919 Evo time-attack special around the 'Ring in an insane 5:19.55, a time the One is unlikely to touch. Mercedes AMG W07 Hybrid 2016 Formula One car power unit The One is powered by the same engine found in the current crop of cars raced by the Mercedes F1 team. It's a 1.6-liter turbocharged V-6, specifically the unit from the championship-winning race car from the 2015 season. The One actually features a more sophisticated powertrain than the F1 car, though. While in the race car there's only the turbocharged V-6 and a motor-generator driving the rear wheels, plus a second motor-generator integrated with the turbocharger, the One has two additional motor-generators. These drive each of the front wheels and provide the One with all-wheel drive. Peak output is 1,049 hp, though the car is relatively heavy for a two-seater, weighing in at 3,737 pounds, or close to the weight of a Ford Mustang GT. Mercedes-Benz AMG One AMG plans to build just 275 examples, each priced at 2.275 million euros (approximately $2.311 million), and all build slots are gone. Even though a lot of those build slots went to customers in the U.S., AMG wasn't able to certify the car and its finicky F1 engine for sale here without a substantial loss in performance. There is some hope for U.S. customers in the form of the Show or Display rule. Under the rule, non-U.S. certified cars with historical or technological significance can be granted permission for private import, albeit with restrictions, such as annual mileage limited to 2,500 miles.

This experience is from Finland. Last year, we purchased a new MB180B and the next day we got the car, I had to get it back to the dealer. I had problems starting the car, and when I finally got it going, it was twitching forcefully. When the engine became warmer, the problem was gone. At the workshop, they started to study the car, but nothing was wrong according to the car computer. But the guy from the workshop said that he thinks there are problems with a component called crankshaft sensor. So, he ordered a replacement component, but then things started to be really strange. The factory said that they will not deliver that component, and I asked why. They told me that this particular component is on the do not deliver list. Finally, they told us that there will be a new different component as a replacement.Well at this point, I made a claim against this and the reason is that a manufacturer is not allowed to deliver cars or any constructions if they know that there is a failed component in it. Or at least they are supposed to inform the customer of this possible problem and then he can decide what to do with it. Anyway, after a few days, I got the car back and now everything is okay, and so on. It wasnt. The same problem came back. The car was back in the work shop, and this has gone now several times. At the moment the car is at the work shop. I already told them earlier that they should get me a new car to replace this one or give me my money back. They told me that is totally an unreasonable claim. A new car which doesnt work, is it so unreasonable to expect that new cars should be okay? Also, during this experience, it has been really hard to get in contact with anyone. The dealer is totally worthless. The car importer is really hard to deal with and the manufacturer in Germany doesnt answer in any messages. The first one I sent half a year ago. Now, I have a lawyer to take care this, and I also took contact with LRQA (Lloyds) who have certified their ISO9001 based management system.Of course, I am angry about the car itself, but also because of this habit of delivering cars included with components that they have themselves declared on not-to-deliver. I was told by them that it is totally normal to replace these kinds of components during a normal service. Actually it is not. It is a hidden/silent recall, and that is against the law and against the ethics as well. We will see what happens. But I would like to give a warning for all possible car buyers of this kind of actions from Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz totally ignores the customer complaint. Will even go as far as lie to you and literally hang up the phone on you! I bought a slk280 used with only 14,000 miles on it within a year and a half. I noticed that the clear coat was starting to come on. I contacted the dealership where I bought it. They told me that it was probably acid rain so I contacted Mercedes and they said that they had no problems with their paint. I believe them. 2 years later my problems way worse and then I find out that other people with the red and silver paints are having problems with the clear coat peeling! If youre having the same problem please contact me through Facebook. I would like to help, by way of getting people together who have the same problem to start a class action lawsuit. Apparently Mercedes will pick and choose who they are willing to help and usually its those who can afford an attorney!

This is absolutely the worst car I ever owned. Waited until I retired and treat myself to a Mercedes Benz. Never changed so many light bulbs in my 72 years. The electronic switch in the steering column went. The controls on the steering wheel all peeled off. The car is very shabbily made. Would not recommend any Mercedes Benz.

I have a perfectly maintained 2012 S350 Diesel. The navigation is so poor, my iPhone works far better. In order to get the improved navigation disk, I must pay $300 for the update disk and another $250 for a security number to unlock the update disk I bought. I already paid for a navigation system when I bought the car. Now these greedy Germans want $250 just to unlock the disk they sold me. I could buy a new iPhone for what they gouge customers. Im done. Never again will I own a Mercedes-Benz.

In Oct 2012, 1 week before Sandy, I purchased a lease from the above and traded in my vehicle. At the time of the transaction, the dealer took my vehicle and I signed a contract for my current lease. The only amount of payment indicated on the contract was my first month payment. Ive recently experienced unacceptable and despicable customer service regarding that purchase. I was temp displaced from my home following the weather events. Upon my return to my home, I received notification that I was responsible for a lease penalty for over mileage in the amount of $2500. At the time, I figured Mercedes did not update their system to reflect the new lease purchase. This was during the second week of Nov. I had my license plates put on my new vehicle on the 16th of Nov and inquired about the notification to Claudio **, the salesman who sold me the lease. At that time, he explains that I have to work that through Mercedes Financial or I could have had that rolled into my new lease payment. I spoke to his boss, Peter, on 16 Nov. who told me there was nothing that they could do although they wish they could. On 17 Nov., I had to travel out of town for work and then came the holiday. I contacted Claudio last week, and asked to discuss this matter with the district manager. I was told to call him this evening. His name is Scott. Scott explained to me that I missed a window of opportunity after I spoke with Peter. I had 24 hours to respond in person. That opportunity consisted of redoing my contract so that the $2500 which was never brought to the table during the deal process could be rolled into my new monthly payments. However, when I spoke to Peter, I was told that there was nothing he could do so this window of opportunity was in fact never presented to me in writing nor verbally.I explained this to Scott who seemed surprised. I have asked Scott to send me all of this information in writing explaining that a window of opportunity was presented and it is no longer valid. No other options have been presented to me. I am a disabled veteran who has been a loyal customer with Mercedes since 2007. Now that the deal has been made, Im being treated poorly because the entire terms of agreement at the time that the deal was made, were not explained to me either verbally or in writing. I only went into this new lease agreement because according to the terms of agreement that were laid out, that I was informed of, it was a great deal. I have since been blindsided with the omission of a lease penalty I would be responsible for upon accepting the deal. The fact that the $2500 lease penalty or any lease penalty for that matter fee was never brought up during the entire deal process is a tremendous error on that entire sales team. I am kindly requesting your assistance for a viable solution because this type of treatment is unwarranted and completely unprofessional.I have since contacted the CEO, Mike Morais, and received a response from him in Dec 2012 apologizing and informing me that he would look into this matter and get back to me. I have sent follow up correspondence as there is not a listed number for him to no avail. I have informed Mercedes Benz Financial from beginning to end about this matter. They too have tried contacting the dealership to no avail. Ultimately, I am responsible for full payment and this is a hardship which I have explained and have attempted to work with Mercedes Benz Financial to make payments to avoid delinquencies. However, my account was recently submitted to a collections agency as I was unable to make the minimum amount requested by Mercedes Benz Financial. I did work out a plan with the collection agency that is within my budget constraints. However, this situation should have never come to this. My vehicle to this was in mint condition and the only reason why I traded it in is because I was tricked into a deal. Thank you for your time and attention.

Good car but have had some unexpected issues with transmission. Found out that’s pretty common for Mercedes. Very disappointed. Haven’t fixed it yet. Thinking of selling the car after a year. The car is very good but transmission jerking is getting boring and nobody is giving me a solution. Sent it to different technicians and all gave me different diagnosis. Haven’t decided yet what to do with the car.

We bought a 2020 GLE 450 over a month ago. The dealership experience from the beginning has been nothing short of a nightmare. The salesman was pushy and rushed us to make a decision based on other customers arriving in one hour to buy the vehicle out from under us. Once we decided to buy the vehicle the Mercedes Concierge was unavailable to ensure all features were operational prior to our taking possession. The salesman muddled his way through the features. When we left the AI was not fully functional but we were assured that “it just needed to finish loading”. Well, that couldn’t have been further from the truth! The vehicle has been in the shop at a different (much better) Mercedes service department for over three weeks now. We finally found out that we need a whole new command unit that has to ship directly from Germany! We’ve been told it may be another month or more until we get our vehicle fixed. The service department told us that it appears that the Walnut Creek dealership KNEW the AI was not functioning when we bought it because it had been reset 4 days prior to our purchase!!The other issue has to do with our trade-in. The Walnut Creek dealership mailed the pay off for our trade in to the wrong place! The check has been lost for three weeks and each time I inquire I get a different story about what happened and where the check went. This seems borderline criminal! We have contacted Corporate on two separate occasions with no resolve and at this point the only help or communications we are receiving is from the current service department.

I have a 2013 e350 convertible with approximately 8000 miles. I have had a problem with the windows on both sides. When I close the windows, they do not stay closed. They drop down about 2 inches and cannot be closed. This causes rain to seep into the car and cause damage. I have brought the car to Mercedes dealers on 5 separate occasions and they were unable to solve the problem. They have now told me that they are working on a fix in Germany and can give me no timetable as to when it will be ready. They have refused to replace the car. I would like to hear from others who have had this problem. Thank you.

I was excited to buy my smart convertible, which after five years, is sitting in the garage, with the roof not closing. I live in the sub-tropics, rain comes in a split second. Mercedes will not even look at the roof, take the time to try and figure it out, just sent me to a top shop who also had no idea, except to sell an entire new roof, cost over $1500. I am having the same issue with Mercedes Benz Walnut Creek, CA. My check engine light came on within a few days of purchasing the car. The salesman Jimmy ** says that the previous owner told him that when you put gas in the light went off and sent me on my way. I came in twice more with the same complaint only to be sent away again. A short time later the cel stayed on. Eventually I had to get my car registered and have the car smogged. The smog place so the cel on and would do no more work. He suggested that I take the car back to MBWC where I purchased the car. I had an extended warranty that canceled but was told it could still be used. I was given a loaner car for a month but when MB could not get paid with the extended warranty they took the loaner back with no charge. I thought this strange. I called the general manager to discuss with him. After he spoke with his people he told me what his people said but did not have an ear for anything I had to say. My car has been at the MBWC dealership since April and after calling AGAIN general manager called to tell me they had not realized my car was still there and that after a couple of days they would start charging me storage. The last attorney I spoke to told me I didnt have a case because the amount of money I would get would not be enough to cover his attorney fees. He is greedy. I am still making payments on my car. Also result of the cel being on the problem with the transmission was missed. I now need another transmission which I got an estimate of $2200+ and the cam shaft issue $7000+. I really need help. There is a lot more but so much to type. Is there anyone willing to help steer me in the right direction?

On April 3, 2012, I purchased a pre-owned 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL550 from a well-established Mercedes-Benz dealership for reliability and assurance. On September 13th, 5 months later, I heard a whining, grinding sound coming from the engine area. On September 14th, I took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Encino wanting the dealership of origin to investigate the problem. Their diagnosis was replacement of the ABC pump. After considerable negotiation for what I considered their responsibility, I paid $3015.95. On Saturday, October 13th, I started my vehicle and a red indicator read ABC malfunction. Also, smoke exited from under the hood and oil leaked. Again, it was towed on October 15th to Mercedes-Benz of Encino. After inspection, I was informed the ABC system hose had burst. The initial assessment was $882 for repair. After several emails to the General Manager, I was informed the cost was $629. My argument is two-fold. Although, the vehicle was not certified pre-owned, I expected Mercedes-Benz to had fully inspected the vehicle prior to sale. Second, when installing a new major pump, why not install new hoses preventing this malfunction? The first repair cost was outrageous, and the second cost avoidable and ridiculous.

Im one of the unfortunate people that purchased not one but two vehicles that fell into the terrible HVAC issue (2015-2018). I had a 2015 GLK and now have a 2018 GLE. Both have the known issue of the horrible vinegar, mildew smell that comes out of the AC every single time you turn it on. There was a class action lawsuit that required them to fix this issue, but they find loopholes and of course their technicians cannot explain why my car isnt covered, even though my VIN clearly shows that it should be covered. After Dec 2020 you were supposed to be able to go into a dealership and have the problem fixed.I took my car to the dealership in Pleasanton, CA, the service coordinator confirmed the smell immediately. After looking at the car she called to say the tech also identified immediately but then went on to say it wasnt covered... but couldnt explain why. After she had told me that they had in fact fixed several vehicles with the same issue a few months prior... my EXACT model and year.I contact Mercedes Benz USA. After reviewing my complaint they offered a goodwill credit of $300... towards a $613 repair. They said they considered customer loyal, the age of the car, service, etc. So Im not sure why I didnt fall under that umbrella... Ive had 2 MBs, I sent over all service records, my car only has 50k miles... and I worked for Mercedes in my 20s in the SERVICE department filing claims. I am the definition of customer loyalty. This is just a slap in the face. It took me over 20 years to finally buy my first Mercedes (I had wanted one since working at the dealership) and its an accomplishment, I should be proud of my vehicle. But Im embarrassed to have people ride in it. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle and it smells rancid.I am so disappointed that they would rather lose a customer and their reputation over a few hundred dollars. They clearly do not stand by their product or their customer service relationships. I would completely understand if this was just MY car but it affected over 2 million cars and covered 3 years... I ended up with 2 of them and I cant even get one of them fixed. Needless to say Im done, its just the principle of bad business, I dont believe in it. I support those that support me. I feel cheated.

NEW ML 350 Bluetec - You will never get the fuel consumption indicated by the on-board computer. It consistently understates consumption by more than 1 litre/100 km (or 11.4%) - this had been verified by MBSA. This software problem, as well as the stop/start function that only works 50% of the time, had been reported nearly 2 years ago to them via the respective dealers. 6 Months ago they confirmed that a software patch will be developed to fix the wrong calculation. After numerous follow-up emails, Allis feedback is now that their R&D advice that the current calculation of average fuel consumption is within the design tolerances of the ML... What a big tolerance for a product range costing nearly R1m and claimed to be the Best or Nothing. I have to accept that the ad hoc working of the stop/start function is also within the design tolerance of the ML.

In April 2013, I bought a pre-owned 2007 Mercedes E550 at the Lexus Dealership with 49,000 miles on car and bought a one-year Lexus Gold Protection Plan. In the one year and 4 months time frame, I have had to replace the brake pads that were supposedly put on at the Lexus Dealership prior to the car being sold to me. Last week, an indicator came on that said car too low. I am thinking I must have a flat tire but it is way worse than that. I get out of car and the rim of the car is sitting on top of the tire. I make it a half mile away to Express Oil and thankfully they are able to put car in their garage that night. The next day, Express Service department tells me the right front suspension has gone out and it will be $1465 to repair car. This is so disappointing that I bought a pre-owned Mercedes of such poor quality. When I called Mercedes about 2007 Mercedes E550, the customer service reps, Jackie and Olivia, were rude and not the least bit helpful. When I asked about possible recalls on the 2007 Mercedes E550, she said there were none related to my issue. There are many complaints online over this particular Mercedes model and year. Jackie made it clear to me that Mercedes values brand loyalty and because my repairs were done at Express there would be no consideration of help from Mercedes. Jackie also told me that they look at brand loyalty and since I did not get my car serviced every time at Mercedes that this would seem to influence whether I was loyal to the Mercedes brand. This is my second Mercedes so I informed her that I was pretty considering that I have bought 2. She did not care about pleasing the customer and basically told me because my car was a 2007 that this played a role in the car having issues. I am now noticing while idling that the a/c runs hot so that I am sure will cost me more money. I bought a lemon on the 2007 Mercedes E550. I am one unhappy owner of a Mercedes and I am extremely disappointed with the arrogant, uncaring customer service at Mercedes. No more Mercedes once I trade this piece of junk!!!

If I could start by giving them 0 star, I would have. But unfortunately youd still have to give them something. Let me start by saying that if anyone wants to see my email records or phone conversation records that I had with MBUSA, feel free to reach out and I will provide them all to you. I leased a brand new C300, full package just about 3 months ago. Starting the moment I played any music, I heard a noise coming out of the doors, mainly the front doors. So, I reached back the dealership within 2 days, and I said there is this issue with my car. Sure, bring it back to us and our shop team should be able to fix it for you, said the dealership to me. The car is brand new, and its under 100% warranty. Long story short, over the last 3 months, I was given a loaner car for about 20 days! 5 different times, they had my car to work on it, different dealership, and yet, they are still not able to fix the issue. The issue comes in whenever I use the bluetooth to make a phone call, listen to any music, or playing a radio. The shops have tried changing the speakers, doors, entertainment system and so on. None of them fixed the issue. So what I did was that I thought I could call MBUSA and have them get involved with this major issue.Irene **, Executive Referral Manager, the person who I started communicating from the first day, told me that, Were sorry that this issue is within your car, and we are here to help you out. Sure! So, she offered me a $100 gift card to a restaurant! My first reaction was that, Are you being serious? She said, how about a $200 gift card to a nice restaurant where I could take my friends and family for a night. My reaction to her words was just unbelievable. I said there is no way that a customer would say yes to this, where they have to deal a car with a broken entertainment system for 3 years! How would you want this to go away?Anyhow, I emailed her, and I noted the conditions that Im willing to go with at this point, which one of them was to have MBUSA buy back their broken car and give their customers money back. Irene emailed me back (and called) and said Sure! We are going to work on this and it would take about 4 to 6 weeks for us to go over this. I said thats fine. As long as I know thats the case. After 5 weeks exact, she called me and said, We are unable to buy back your car and it is what it is. There is nothing we could do at this point! So, I discussed with her over the phone that, How would you even say that? There is 100% something wrong with the car you support in your region, and you say that you cant do nothing? She, again, said, We are sorry it is what it is and hang up the phone! In the middle of our conversation, she said her own words and hang up the phone! As easy/crazy as it sounds like. So, I got really upset, and I emailed her that, We were talking I believe, and you hang up the phone on me. That is not nice in no business environment. This is no buy it and you are on your own - This is The best or nothing. So after she received my email, she calls me back in 2 hours and said, Im sorry that the answer is not what I thought it would be, but there is nothing I could do. I asked for her managers name or email address where I could talk to them instead. And she refused to provide any. So I emailed the day after, 3 times, and no response. The day after which would be today, she emailed and said the decision was made by her team and Frank **, which I cannot provide you his information. Also, I am not going to reply to your emails after this. So, long story short, please do a bit research on the type of car you want to go with, and make sure you dont have to deal with these people. They are very rude, unprofessional, and untrustworthy and unreliable. I am, in fact going to make legal actions about this and as I have been told, this car is an easy 100% lemon law buy back, by the California laws. MBUSA just dont want to take it the easy way. Just remember, first they tried offering me a $100 gift card to a restaurant and have me let go of this case. Thank you.

Dec. 2014 I purchased a new 2015 Mercedes 4matic C class. 2 months later I noticed the engine sounded loud and popping sound near the wheel area when turning. Took it in to dealer who said the engine sound was normal and couldnt hear any noise in the wheel area. 4 months following I took it back for the same thing but to a different dealership who heard the noise. 3 weeks later my new car has had engine mounts replaced because they thought that was the problem and is now having suspension shafts replaced cause they think that may be the problem. Thank God its under warranty, but I have lost confidence in Mercedes. My car is still at the dealer. I will not buy another Mercedes.

My wife recently exited our C300 MB to come back into our home. She came back to the car only to find it had driven off down our hill, thru our brick pony wall and finally thru our neighbors boulder ditch. 7 weeks later, the insurance company totaled the car. In the meantime we have been complaining numerous times to MB head office over the fact that the car has always exhibited a safety feature in which it shifts into park automatically whenever, and every time, the door is opened. The one time we needed it to, it didnt. Failed completely and now we have lost our car. What really is disappointing is the fact that MB USA has completely ignored this and frankly if this safety feature doesnt perform, then the next time the car runs away on someone, the results could be more tragic than it was this time. Shame shame shame on MB for caring so little to even address this with us.

I bought a 2003 Mercedes E500 in early 2015. Thought I was getting a good deal on a used luxury car with less than a 100k miles. In less than a year I have spent a little over 3 thousand dollars in repairs. And that is going somewhere other than the actual dealership which would of cost me 3X as much! One of the main reasons I bought a Mercedes was because I thought they were supposed to be reliable cars. The only thing I have been able to rely on is that I will be in the shop every other month. On a positive note I took it in to the dealership for a fuel system problem that Mercedes were covering under an extended warranty and the service was great. They treated me very well, fed me and made me comfortable. And the car is a dream to drive when its working but I have a problem with the esp and some brake sensor now that is gonna cost me 2 grand bringing up the cost of repairs to near what I paid for the car in the first place in less than a year. There is no reason for anyone to buy a used Mercedes. The only people who can afford the repair costs of a Mercedes are the people who can afford a new Mercedes and if you can afford the repairs on a used Mercedes you should just buy a new Mercedes. Used Mercedes should just go straight to the junkyard so poor people like me dont get tricked into buying these money pits.

Purchased a Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 hardtop convertible. After the second leak the local dealer replace my hardtop and installed a fake pano roof that looks like a cheap aftermarket accessory that devalues my car. I purchased a hardtop and that is what I wanted and expected when I returned to the dealership. Now trying to get the situation resolved after escalating to MBUSA. This has turned into an ordeal. To complicate matters, their correction has resulted in a series of additional damages and attempts to profit more from their mistake. I contacted the NC Attorney General Office because I refused to reason with unreasonable people.

I purchased my 2008 Mercedes Benz S450. I bought it 17 months ago and have had it in the shop 12 times. Yep. It’s true. The S450 nearly identical to the S550 but it’s a Canada-only edition. It has all the same features as an S550 but a slightly smaller engine therefore less gas consumption (not that I could care less). Within the 1st month, I had it back to the dealership for a $6,000 replacement of the GPS. With only 50,000 km on it (approx. 31,068 miles). It went downhill from there. Somewhere in there I lost my key and the replacement took six weeks and cost $406.13. Currently the catalytic converter is shot on the right hand side (there are 2) and that lovely quote has come in at $2,481 to replace. Cant wait until the other side goes. Sure people stare at this car as I drive by, beautiful lady with long blonde hair driving a high-end vehicle but it sure hasnt been worth it. Im making car payments about $1,000 a month and not only are the regular oil changes brutal ($500 on average) but there are a number of things wrong with the car that were wrong since the day I bought it that the mechanic cant troubleshoot because it doesnt seem to make that noise when he drives it. This includes the Distronic arbitrarily shutting off even on the highway on sunny days with no inclines on the roadway and no traffic with the car being washed just earlier that morning so nothing in the way of road grime. Go figure. The seat never worked properly since day one but since I didnt think the seats performed with the auto-inflation when you turned a corner, I never raised it up with the dealership. Then it cost me $500 after arguing back and forth because they said I broke it. By the way, the reason I never knew the seats were supposed to have this feature is because not only did it not work when I test-drove the vehicle and then bought it but the salesman was having surgery the day I bought the vehicle, and no one explained to me the various features. Ive been reading the very thick and complicated manual trying to see what features my car does have and thats how I found out. Again, when I went back to say it wasnt working since day one the dealership thought I was trying to scam them. Out of frustration I paid the $500 (half the cost) to get the seat fixed but believe me, I will take a polygraph test and prove the seat never worked since day one. I could never re-sell this car with a broken seat so I bucked up and had it fixed. I also take meticulous car of this vehicle and dont like things not working on it. Im exhausted but I still owe $40,000 on the car loan and Im locked in to this nightmare. Would I buy another one? No, of course not. I have owned two Chryslers before this, and NEVER had to pay this kind of maintenance and the one Chrysler 300C is a 2005, has over 400,000 km on it and Im lucky if Ive had to pay $3,000 in total for things that have need replacing. So, looking at the stack of receipts and work orders from the last 18 months, Ive got another three and a half years of payments to go on this thing and then Im free. Come on Mercedes. Stop creating new vehicles and advertising them on TV when you have a mountain of issues from the past to have to resolve. If I ran my company this way, Id be bankrupt and in jail.

CLEARLY MANUFACTURER PROBLEM!!! Traded in my 2011 Mercedes Benz E350 for a 2016 Mercedes Benz E350; my favorite vehicle and fourth one I have owned. I only drive it on the weekends, Since the purchase in May of 2019. I have driven the 2016 probably 10 times on Sundays to church. It has never left the state of Georgia. Upon returning from being at Church all day Sunday February 16, 2020 730 am to 730pm. I parked the car in my garage, an hour or so later I realized I forgot something in the car. Hearing a crackling noise I began to look at the golf cart charger and the only other thing in my garage, the car. The rear window had completely shattered! it appears as though the sealant is missing from the upper left and right corners of the rear of the vehicle. MICHAEL G OF Mercedes tells me there is nothing they can do since there arent any open recalls. I have never seen such a thing! **

I bought my 2006 ML500 in 2011. The car had previously been in a car accident so we were expecting some minor issues, as the larger ones had been fixed. What we were not expecting, however, was over $20,000 in repairs. Not only have we spent so much money at one Mercedes dealership, we had absolute awful service. Three weeks ago, my ML500 began shaking and wouldnt accelerate right away. We went into Mercedes expecting to get our problem fixed, and were told theyd do it for $1,600. We were so fed up with it that we just went ahead and paid for it. I picked up my car a couple of days later and started driving, and it seemed fine. The next day, the problem arose again, except the shaking became extremely worse. At this point, I dont even know what to do with this vehicle, and am so shocked that we paid $1,600 and nothing was fixed. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A MERCEDES. I own a Toyota truck and have received extremely better service paying less than half the price!! Not worth it!! Go for a Lexus or Acura instead!

It is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement. Please read and think carefully before buying or leasing any Mercedes vehicles. My wife had always dreamed of driving a Mercedes. After months of shopping around for the best model, I finally surprised her with an E350 in November 2013. Unfortunately, within one month a bubble was formed on the front passenger tire and it ended up popping while I was driving 30mph on a date night with my wife. I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced and I was assured that this does not happen often, so they replaced it for free. After this first incident, I was a bit wary but still was optimistic that her car was safe to drive.About a month later, my wife was driving alone late in the evening on her way to a class when she hit a minor pothole and both her front tires popped. My wife immediately panicked, because she was stuck in New Rochelle, pulled off to a road late at night and had to wait two hours in the cold for a tow truck to come. During this long wait, she noticed hundreds of cars driving over the same road that were not affected. This was the last time she ever drove this car alone.Through the spring, I continued to notice bubbles appearing on the tires. In March of 2014, there was a bubble on the front and rear passenger sides of my car, which both had to be replaced. This brought the count up to 5 tires in 4 months. By April, there was another bubble on the front passenger which brought the count up to 6, so 6 new tires within 5 months. Im 52 years old, and have driven over a dozen cars in my lifetime and I have never experienced anything like this. Every time I would bring my car into Mercedes I was told that my car was safe and this shouldnt happen again. In September of 2014, around 9 months into my Mercedes experience there was yet another bubble forming on the front passenger side of my car. As usual, I brought my car in to be serviced and they assured me that this would not happen again. I was skeptic, but I needed a car to get to work, so I continued to drive the E350, which had become my car after my wifes traumatic experience with it.The winter was a long, brutal one so I tried to avoid driving the Mercedes as much as I could. Once the snow cleared up, I started to drive it more regularly and of course in the second week of March, I noticed a bubble on both the front and rear passenger sides of the car. Ive become an expert on these situations, so as per usual, I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced. Less than a week later, I was with my wife, and her friend who has a newborn child when the car hit a pothole on the freeway. The front passenger tire popped, and the three other tires had bubbles that had to be replaced. We had to sit on the highway, with a newborn child and wait 40 minutes for a tow truck to come and rescue us from this madness. During this 40 minutes, with the baby crying and my wife and her friend in fear that another car could crash into us as we waited on the highway, I observed that no other car had any issues driving over those potholes. My tire count was now 13 tires in16 months. 9 days later, I was driving home at night around 10PM and yet again another tire blew. Although Im young at heart, I can no longer deal with the stress and fear of driving this luxury car. I had previously owned or leased many different brands of luxury cars including Lexuss and Audis and I have never experienced anything like. After every one of these occurrences I called Mercedes and asked if there was any way I could get a new model car that wouldnt have this issue or end my lease short, and they continuously blew me off. After my 14th tire had to be replaced, I called Mercedes corporate to alert them of this issue and to my surprise they werent alarmed and didnt seem to think this was a serious issue. The regional manager I spoke to - **, who claims to not have a supervisor told me that the issue was with the roads, not with the car. Yet, when I asked him why this happened to me through every season and didnt seem to impact any other cars, he had nothing to say. So, please, think carefully before letting any of your loved ones or yourself drive one of these dangerous vehicles.

On June I bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. After about a week of having the car a check engine light was on, took the car to the dealer and after a couple of days the dealer told me the problem was fix and it was only a bad sensor. After another couple of week the check engine light was on again; took the car to the dealer and after about a week of having the car I was informed that the 4 fuel injectors had to be change. Car was good for about 3 weeks. After that once again check engine light went on; took the car to the dealer one more time and this time is was the fuel pump that was replaced. I express to the dealer I was very unhappy with the situation. After going back and forth with the dealer about the situation, they told me I had to open a complaint with Mercedes-Benz USA by calling a 1-800 number. I did that and after and received a call from a MB regional manager that told me they review my complaint and were not able to assist me with my problem and explain me that if I wanted to get something done further I shall get legal counseling because they were very firm on their position. After all this I decided to move the page and get rid of the car. I purchase a BMW, which I had always have for many years and never had a problem with. This whole nightmare cost me 30 thousand dollars.

I took my car for service, paid for it but it was never fixed, and after several visits, has gotten worse. They now want another payment. I am writing to you in hope that you can assist me with the resolution to a problem with Mercedes Benz of Sanford. I initially took my car in for service of a part that was fixed but was also recommended to perform a service on my transmission. The car, prior to the service, was operational, but it was pushing a bit and jerked. One of the service men indicated that the problem was something that had to be fixed with a computer program. I had previously changed the brakes, so it was not the brakes. The technician told me that the service was recommended at 50K miles for this car. He performed the service and I paid for it. Unfortunately, the problem continued. I went back to the dealership and explained that the issue was not resolved and they said that they would look at it. They ran a diagnostic program. After they used a diagnostic service, one of the service men said that the car was fixed. I drove out of the dealership and immediately felt the problem again. I drove right back into the dealership and the service technician drove the car and told me that there is nothing wrong. He also said that they used a new program to extend the life of the car, an updated program for the transmission and that I would get used to it. The problem persisted and I was told by one of their managers to take the car to Tim at Mall of Millennia Mercedes Benz. I was ignored even though I had an appointment with Tim, and was told that he was in a meeting with the manager. I asked why they had made an appointment for me when he was not going to be available. They did not answer the question, but put me off again. I ended up leaving and the car was not fixed. I attempted to communicate with the managers at both dealerships as well as with the corporate office, and was subsequently told that there is nothing wrong with my car. The company will not answer my questions or fix my car, and the best that they did for me (case manager, Ms. **) indicated I should again visit the same dealership. On Thursday, September 5, 2013 I was on my way to a job interview and the car completely stopped and would not move at all. I was on a busy highway (436) and could have been in an accident during normal conditions. I was very lucky that there were no cars at that time, a very unusual situation on this road. If I had been on the freeway, I would have been in a bad car accident. After my interview, I took the car in to the dealer again and this time they seemed like they were actually going to fix my car. They provided me with a rental car for the time that their car is in the shop and they said that they would cover the cost of the rental car, as they did not have a loaner vehicle.I told them that I had already paid for repairs that were not originally performed and that I expected them to fix my car. Now they contacted me telling me that they want me to pay $900 for the repairs. I have already paid for the repairs that were never properly done on the car. I truly feel that they never looked at my car and did not fix what was wrong the first time. They have since had my car and are telling me that I have to pay this amount. I have already paid to fix my car and after multiple visits, many discussions and letters to their service center, they have yet to fix my car. I am asking for your assistance to resolve this issue as I feel that I have been taken advantage of through this whole process and that I paid for something that was not delivered. I would like my car to be fixed and have warranty for the repair and the parts so that my car operates properly. I already paid for repairs that were not performed and should not pay for something twice. This is a safety issue and they put my family and me at risk by not performing the repairs. I would like to have an explanation of what was wrong, the repairs. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Since I purchased my 2007 E350 sedan, I have spent over $12,000 in maintenance and repairs. Specifically, to name a few of the repairs beyond the usual maintenance, in December 2011, transmission repairs in the amount of $2,219. In December of 2012, my car completely died at midnight at an airport 30 miles from my home. That repair was $3,539 for transmission issues. Mileage: 62,000. In January of 2013, the same problem occurred with car dying. This time they did not charge me since it had been repaired a week earlier. In August of 2013, another $2,354 for transmission issues, including mounts (same thing from Dec 2011). My car has relatively low mileage for a car purchased over 6 1/2 years ago. I have always taken my car to the Mercedes Benz dealer for maintenance as required and have kept up with it. All service records are at Mercedes. I find that these are exorbitant amounts to pay for a luxury car, with low mileage. I expected far more out of Mercedes. I will NEVER buy a Mercedes again.

At 50,000 km I get warning sign for engine on screen and it turn up that there is problem with fuel injector and they replace most of engine parts. At 90,000 km the car start to give a very loud noise sound at all speeds. The problem found to be with differential. It worn up. My Camry till now with me I never had window problem or engine problem or differentials.

Recently I was involved in a car accident with my 2015 S550 and damaged the driver quarter panel. I wasnt too concerned because I was in good hands with Mercedes Benz and knew I would be getting my car repaired in no time. WRONG! My car was towed to Mercedes Benz of Fort Lauderdale Collision center for inspection on 10/24/15 and was quoted approximately 3 weeks to repair the damage. 3 weeks seemed a little lengthy but reasonable to repair the damage, especially for the hefty price tag I am paying Mercedes for their ELITE service.I figured there wasnt anything I can do but to wait the 3 weeks. I called them BACK AFTER ALMOST 4 WEEKS PAST to follow up and the person I spoke with chuckled and told me it would take another 2 weeks because he said it was a lot of work and take time. He made it seem like it was such a daunting task that was going to be almost impossible to get done. Honestly, isnt their job to repair cars all day, specifically Mercedes Benz? A full month had past already and it appeared that it was JUST SITTING THERE waiting for parts to come in, insurance BS, etc. (I cant remember all the excuses they gave me). I am beyond frustrated at this point because I am paying $1800/mo for my car to sit there at Mercedes while everyone seems to just drag their feet as well as pay for a rental car for almost 3 months. Every 2 weeks I get a call with the same BS, it is going to be another 2 weeks. It has now been 2.5 months and my car is still not done. The 2nd to last time they called they even insulted me with hopefully by next year. Of course I wasnt too happy and had no choice but to wait for their lazy employees to take their precious time. A couple weeks went by and the same guy called with the same story, they needed another 2 weeks to complete my car! Where is the luxury service that I was promised by Mercedes? Am I missing something here?Fast forward - It is now Jan 8, 2016 and my car has yet to be completed. I have now paid Mercedes Benz 3 hefty payments without being able to drive my car. What aggravates me the most about this whole experience is I would assume when you buy a $110K+ luxury vehicle that you would receive the ELITE service that is promised to you when you are buying it. Since it is already sold the service received has been nothing but a joke. I feel it is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement to let everyone know that Mercedes Benz does not stand by their quality of service as they advertise. The hefty price tag you pay for their vehicles is definitely not worth the price and level of service youre given. Save yourself headache and time and opt for better luxury cars out there.

I bought a Sprinter from Fletcher Jones on June 20, 2015, and many thing went wrong. First the car didnt have some accessories they said it had including CD player and tire accessories. I have picture of the car in dealership showing some accessories on it. They removed some accessories which was on the car and gave it to me as new owner while they took the car for washing. Second, the roof was leaking so bad that I couldnt use it while raining. My handicap mother and family became wet along all our belongings. I have pictures documented the rain from roof falling down. Roadside assistant didnt come to help, they even couldnt find cars owner name.On July 20, 2015, I took the car to the dealer and they said they even dont repair it there and I have to take it to Temecula. Finally, they accepted to repair the car problem after many hours of wasting my time. On July 22, 2015, I went to take the car back. Instead of handing me car repair report and apologies for the problem, they handed me a bill for registration that I have to pay and they claimed they forgot to bill me. DMV record shows they took registration fee which had been paid by last owner or dealer, which they said the last owner paid already and manipulated the document and started charging me for the same fees. Document and DMV record for my car shows that it dated the same day I took the car back and complained about leaking problem. After all, Scott, Customer Service Manager, confirmed multiple times that they will pay registration fees and they did not. I emailed DMV and they confirmed they received money but never sent me the tag. I have the email document. When I did not receive the tag not for 2015 and not for 2016, I went to DMV office in Santa Ana and I found out they paid and then they took the money back. Now I have to pay even penalties. The car even missing last years tag. I am wondering how and who in DMV office in Placentia, industrial branch 619, is supporting them to manipulate the documents.Fletcher Jones Dealers sale, service and customer service team are not reliable and trustworthy at all. They also said my car has car wash service, later they denied it. They lied in multiple occasion and manipulated customer multiple times. If they are big dealer, we have big country and someone has to stop them ripping off clients time, money and energy. They lie when they are selling, they lie and try to trick when they are writing the contract. Make sure read the contract word by word because they change it and ask you to sign. Sale manager is rude and manipulative. Dont go there and never trust what they say, they lie.

The next day October 25th, 2019 at 4pm I arrived at the dealer to take said delivery. The car was parked outside and was prepped. I noticed a few dings on the car. When I walked into the show room, I met the reps and told them my findings on said car. I was told that “this was a loaner and that there was bound to be imperfections”. This was not expressed to me prior. I then sat in the car an noticed the scuff on the dash and the mileage being 4424 as opposed to the mileage being 1718. I was shocked and speechless at that point and expressed my displeasure and the reps were equally shocked at the mileage difference. I hesitated on signing but was rest assured that all will be handled. I expressed to Mercedes of Brooklyn that I would like to have the brake pads changed and the minor scuff removed. I was told that they will look into this. Today is Monday October 28th, 2019 and I am told that they will not remedy the situation at all. Very unhappy!

I received a safety recall notice from Mercedes in March 2017 stating that under certain conditions a very high electric current can flow through the starting current limiter causing it to overheat. This can defect can result in fire. As of today, July 13, 2017, Mercedes told me it has no idea when the parts will be available to correct the problem. The recall affects a number of Mercedes models manufactured between 2015-2017. Mercedes has a particularly torturous telephone system. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative it was clear that he could not have cared less. Meanwhile, I have a car that is greatly diminished in value in my opinion. We have purchased approximately 10 Mercedes in the last 15 years, including 2 within the last 2 years. We will not be purchasing any more. I called to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I thought they might be able to help or have additional information. The woman barely spoke English and kept telling me my VIN number was not in their system. She finally put me on hold for about 5 minutes and amazing she found the VIN. She was equally incompetent at providing any information or in telling me what her agency would do. I asked if someone would call or email me. No way - government workers are not there to serve you apparently. Close down this worthless agency.

Power steering is leaking on our 2008 ml350 with only 54000 miles. You would assume that power steering in a Mercedes will last longer than that. No parts available, have to buy a whole new steering wheel column $3500. Had to replace the lift gate motor at a cost of $2000. The power steering rack developed a leak causing the oil pressure to the unit to fail resulting in loss of power steering function. This vehicle does not have a warning system to alert the driver of this type of failure. A previous safety recall was issued January 2009 (safety recall #2008-120011) for 2008 ML 320s for a defect such as this. However, this particular vehicle was not part of that recall. We feel this part should last the life of the vehicle without failure.

I have a 2006 ML350 that has 100,000 miles and is worth about $13,000. The check engine turned on so I took it to the agency and the estimate to fix it is over $9,500. In the dealership they told me to call Mercedes USA and after a long talk and wait from them they offer a 10% discount on the repair. A car that has always been serviced correctly and that is supposed to last 300,000 miles definitely does not. Mercedes knew that those parts were defective and changed them on future models but they will not be fixing what they sold that is defective. I would definitely be thinking again about buying a new Mercedes in the future.DONT BUY MERCEDES.

We own a 2009 C300, with 4matic transmission. The car started to make a grinding noise which was being emitted from the center of the car. The car only had 60,000 miles at that point. We took the car to our family mechanic, and he told us it sounded like it was coming from the transmission and he advised we take the car to the dealer. We took the car to Mercedes of Danbury CT. They told us we needed a completely new transmission, and the price was $7,500. We told them it was outrageous that the car needed a new transmission at 60K miles. They told us the warranty only goes until 50K and there was nothing they could do.The dealer told us the car was probably not taken care of, but we took very good care of it. We had Mercedes of Nanuet (the original dealer) look up the records to prove that the transmission service had been performed right on time, and that the car was very well taken care of. In a desperate attempt, we called Mercedes USA. We talked to a regional manager and told him the whole story. The result was they were willing to discount the repair to $6000. We told them this is unacceptable. Given the car had been well serviced, the issue indicates an engineering problem with the transmission. A quick google search will show that many people have the same issue with the transmission. After Mercedes refused to do any better, we took the car back to our family mechanic. He opened up the transmission, replaced the bearing that had failed, and charged us a total of $1,000. In his opinion the transmission has a design flaw. You would think a luxury automobile manufacturer such as Mercedes Benz would treat you well. Obviously that is not the case. We will be selling the car, and will never purchase a Mercedes Benz again.

I purchased my first Mercedes Benz, 2007 GL450 in 2010 from CarMax in Louisville. The car is very nice in luxury but has been a money pit from day one! After thousands of dollars in repairs, I still owe $12k and cannot afford to sell it with all the issues it has. I still need about $8000.00 more in repairs!Well, last night I drove to dinner with some friends. Approx. 45 miles rt. I parked it in my garage at 6:30pm. At 12:30 am I went out to the garage to take the trash out before retiring for the night and I felt heat from the Mercedes as if it had been in the sun for hours. I felt the hood and it was very hot on the right side of the front hood. So I pulled it outside the garage, in case of a fire! Mercedes does not intend to help me with this issue. I will have to call a tow truck today and be without my car. I was suppose to work in Chicago this week. Now I cannot. This is going to cost me loss in pay and tons of money. I am in fear of my life, but is need to work! I just read several reviews that this model has caught fire and destroyed homes and lives. I dont know where to turn for help. MB needs to recall these cars! ASAP! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Bought my first car (this being the 2020 plate 70 reg A-Class PHEV premium plus 1.3L hatchback), and unfortunately the navigation system and customer aftercare was ATROCIOUS. I was back in the Merc showroom a week after I purchased the car due to the speedometer showing 70mph on the side streets and 20mph on a motorway! There was also NO sight of the mandatory accessories that were in the car. The ENGINEERS said that a full download WASNT completed on this BRAND NEW fully fitted, TOP OF THE RANGE vehicle and even after them taking my car in for the day, its still NOT WORKING. When requesting an initial check up of the car (due to the navigation system failing and taking the longer routes around town) he told me to press the SOS system in the car which directs you to air ambulance, then a roadside engineer (both who said the whole situation has heightened due to the fault of the salesman). The inadequacy of the sales team is awful especially with their customer aftercare and ’support. When the car arrived, the salesman who I dealt with didnt bother showing me any of the cars gadgets, the car wasn’t even full charged on the electric - there was no effort made when presenting the car which was very disappointing. The car is a premium plus (top of the range) meaning that all the extra features such as the cable are meant to come with the car. When questioning the salesman I dealt with, he refused to acknowledge that the accessories came with the car and stopped replying to my messages giving no response! It was only after dealing with the engineer, we pushed for the already paid for accessories. Being a loyal customer, we had foresight of purchasing another vehicle however, due to the REPETITION OF TERRIBLE experiences with the car, customer services, problematic navigation…. I’m appalled! The whole experience was very troublesome, lack of support was given from the Mercedes Leicester team, there was absolutely no aftercare provided. The car’s navigation and speedometer is STILL NOT WORKING. I don’t recommend anyone to purchase this new vehicle, especially from the Leicester branch. Very disappointed.

Our 300c has approximately 29,000 miles on it and has gone through 2 sets of tires already! Just returned from the MB dealer and was told that the 2d set of tires was of low quality that is why they are cupping. If that was so, why did the original set do the same thing at 15,000 miles? Apparently, there is something wrong with the car design. The quality of the car, a 2010 is definitely not what Mercedes used to build.

The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle I researched and test drove. The surround cameras make it easy to park. It has all surround cameras, heated seats, and a comfortable ride that is adjustable to a more sporty mode. I like the seats better than the stiff seats of other makes. The auto hold feature makes it easy to brake and not have to worry about the vehicle moving. The automatic wipers make it easier to drive without having to worry about manually operating them. However, I would like to have air conditioned seats. I would also like for it to have a heated steering wheel since my hands are cold often. Also, Im worried about not having a spare tire even though it has run flat tires. Run flat tires tend to last much less longer than normal tires.

We purchased a Mercedes Benz Gl 450 for a total of over $47,000 in July 2019 and in addition to the car having warranty up to 50,000 miles, we purchased an additional service/repair package for $1,800.00. We spent all that money with an expectation of safety, reliability and the peace of mind promised by mercedes benzs multi point inspection, warranty up to 50,000 miles and the extra repair package that we purchased. Recently we noticed that when we first start driving the car has a noise on the right side, the noise is most noticeable when applying the brake and when releasing the brake. On December 2nd, we took the car to Mercedes Benz of Valencia and to say that the service department staff was UNWILLING TO HELP is a gross understatement. The service manager was derelict of his responsibility. First he said there was no loaner vehicle available therefore, no one could examine our car, when in fact I had called twice to confirm that a loan vehicle would be available to us when making the appointment. Then second he said nothing could be done to examine the noise in our car because the car had been in an accident, therefore warranty was not attached, but could not show me any of that in writing. Further, the accident was a minor one with only minor body damage which amounted to a $3,400 repair job and no engine damage was sustained. We stressed on multiple occasions that we needed to establish whether the noise was engine related or a result of accident related body damage. They eventually did agree to keep the car for examination, they called the following day on December 3rd and told us to come and get the car. Bill the service representative stated that they heard the noise when applying the brake and said there is nothing they can do because the brakes on the car are new and that they do not know what is causing the noise nor what could be wrong with the car. We are concerned and, worried about our safety, not to mention flabbergasted that the auto manufacturers employees are unwilling to diagnose the problem and are demonstrating a blatant disregard for brand integrity or customer safety. There was no report given to on what type of examination or assessment if any at all was performed on the car. There was no print out of areas examined and findings observed, it appears they kept or car overnight and called us in the morning to fetch it. Given that brakes are a very important part of vehicle operation we are shocked that the service department has displayed such a lackadaisical attitude towards a potential safety risk. We purchased the car which has up to 50,000 mile warranty or 7 years whichever occurs first and the additional repair package for peace of mind expecting to get the proper service that would address any issues and instead we were told by the vehicle manufacturer service department that there is nothing they can do and further they do not know what is causing the malfunction in a car manufactured by Mercedes and covered by a 50,000 mile warranty. There is something very wrong with that.

Ive just purchased a 2012 ML350. Though the ride and the overall quality of the vehicle is nice, the door lock on the passenger door came defective. Weve had to wait over a week to get the part to fix the problem, but the auto-lock function does not work. A company like MB cant even get a simple thing like the door lock. Its going to be serviced again, which my car will be in service more days then driven. This ruins the new car buying experience. I bought the car through Dez at Long Beach MB. I had the service done at House of Imports in Buena Park, CA. Not only I had to wait over ten days for the part to arrive, when it arrived some parts were missing, so I had to wait over the weekend and then some to get my car back. When everything is thought to be fixed, it wasnt. The consequence of this defective part and questionable workmanship is having the new car buying experience ruined and it ruined the image of MB. This is my third MB, and this is not something that happens to supposedly one of the most luxurious brands in the world. ML may not be their best car, but it may well be their most important vehicle this year. I cant understand how this could happen to a MB vehicle. Id understand if it was made in China like vehicles.

I bought an ML 6.3 AMG from Mercedes Inchcape with five thousand miles on the clock. They charged me top book price. When driving, I felt the steering was not quite right. I took the vehicle back to the dealership several times and was basically fobbed off. I then paid an independent engineer to inspect the vehicle. His findings were that the vehicle had been in a front end crash. It had had several new panels including wings and front bumper, even the headlight was superglued in. I have stopped the payments on the vehicle and put my complaint to the dealership in November 2011. They eventually sent their manager out in the middle of January 2012. All he did was take photographs of the jeep on his mobile phone! And he eventually sent a letter to my solicitor stating that he could not say the vehicle as not road worthy. This has been explained to him that my complaint is that I was sold a vehicle under false pretenses, as I was not informed of any repair work being carried out prior to me purchasing the vehicle. And if I was, I would not have completed the purchase, as stated I paid top book price ($90K+). I have informed both the dealership and Mercedes Inchcape that I have rescinded the contract with them and I am requesting all monies paid to them be returned to me.

This happened to me almost five times up to now. I called both dealerships and they cant take the car until middle of next week as of today (December 23rd, 2011). Got the car on 1 November 2013. Four times the car engine went dead suddenly while I was driving on a highway at 110km/hr, once at 80km/hr, and once at 60km/hr. It give a sign of slippery road, refer to your manual. I was forced to steer to the side of the highway before the car came to a total stop. Must quickly turn on the ignition twice to restart the car. Sometimes it gives wrong warning like you should take a break now.... which is to warn that I am not driving straight. The car was sent back for service. A service man said was a small problem and they have fixed it alright.Unfortunately, it happened again. Now the car is in the service center again. It has been a month already but I they have not figured out what is the problem. Me and my family insist on returning the car. Terrifying Near-Death Experience! For the first few days, I did not hear from the service center until I sent an email to the head office in Malaysia, cc to head office in Germany. Immediately they called to say I could use their s-class Merz until the total diagnosis is done. I refused cos I want to return the default car. I cant sell my car in order to buy another but I am paying installment RM3000+++ I have sleepless night. They said depreciated write off cost would be very high if I am to sell the car. Why I need to bear all the cost? Been searching on the internet and I have found that there are similar cases happened to other Merz owners.

2 years ago we purchased a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter van and have spent close to $14K on repairs. We use it for our travels for my sons motocross racing throughout the US. We have had nothing but problems and have had multiple breakdowns where we have gone into Limp Mode mostly due to the diesel particle filter. After reviewing some of the broken parts with a certified Mercedes mechanic it was known that Mercedes builds their engines with plastic parts banking on the fact that they fail within so many miles. Good example: who puts plastic parts for the throttle body on the valves? My wife just recently traveled with our 12 yo son 1100 miles to Oregon just after replacing the DEF pump and heating element system which cost me over $3k and was told we were good to go. Again she broke down. Your Mercedes a Roadside Assistance reassured me that they would take care of my wife to tow it to a local dealership but then wanted to charge us... Thank god for AAA. So where do I go from here? Does Mercedes have a solution to let me and my family feel safe?

The controls are easy to use as well. I like the color and the low maintenance needed for the car. Very dependable, great for road trips. A friend hit a deer. The damage was severe and it kept on running. The only downfall to this car is the cost of parts and maintenance. The repair always recommend only using Mercedes parts from the manufacturer and there is a great difference in cost compared to some of other vehicles. Finding used parts is hard and cost more. You reviewed in the last week Quality Poor to Fair Appeal, Poor to Fair Service, Poor to Fair. I was very displeased with my last two services. Last time, they left three bolts out of the pan causing a rattle and a bolt out of the center brace at the top center rear of the engine. This is a brace that you would remove to change the air filters. On the service done today, the service rep Barry told my wife she needed $8,000 worth of repairs and she had him call me. I asked Barry what needed to be repaired. He said, For starters, you havent had your transmission serviced in 40000 miles. I said, Are you sure? He said according to his records and the service department records, it had not been serviced. Well Barry, I have a bill here that said I had the transmission serviced the last time I was there. He told me I had a serious oil leak at the oil cooler. In the last 10000 miles, the oil did not drop as much as a fraction of a quart. I normally wash my own car, check my oil and keep the area under the hood spotlessly clean. If I had all the oil leaks that he told me I had, I would notice. I will now take my car to one of the best transmission specialist I know and see if they really serviced my transmission last time. I have another Mercedes Benz that I have had for 27 years that was purchased at Snyders when they had the dealership and then I paid for the transmission to be serviced four times over the years and twice at Carlton in Greenville, SC. The transmission failed and I found out that that transmission had never been serviced once even though I have service records to prove that I had. I thought I had finally found an honest MB dealer in Mercedes of South Charlotte but I am pretty sure there is no such thing as an honest MB dealer. It is impossible to send your wife to have a car serviced and expect a fair deal. Its not an issue of money as I can certainly afford what I want. I am just tired of being ripped off. I met the owner and his son and I was really impressed that I had found a dealer I could trust but I can tell you now, run, run as fast as you can away from an MB dealer. They thrive off of wealthy people that have more money than brains. My phone number is ** and my name is Carson **. Call me if you want to know how I really feel.

With under 40,000 at the initial start of the check engine light coming on which no one else besides MB has ever serviced, I had to get the balance shaft replaced in the motor at my total expense. From reading reviews and information from this page and other pages they said it was best to take the car back to the dealer for this type of job. I tried other Mercedes dealerships in Cleveland: North Olmsted gave me a phone estimate of $10,000, Mercedes-Benz of Willoughby Leikin said they were too small to handle such a big job so I ended up taking the car back to Mercedes Benz of Bedford where I originally purchase it for a mere$7,036.51. I associate this cost with me being **, female, prior neg. post and phone calls. This was the worse purchase I have ever made in my life and I would NEVER buy another Mercedes. They do not stand behind their merchandise. I think they tossed a coin to see who was going to service me (after corporate calls, because Bedford where I originally purchased the car new, never called me back). My conclusion: once the car is out of warranty they really dont want your business, unless its to trade the car in on a new one and they resell your old one for a mint. I know people are in business to make money but when your product falls short of what it claims to be I feel you are obligated to provide some type of relief. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get. When the words of many mouths is a negative experience in the end you lose. By the way Mercedes USA was a waste of my time. They did absolutely nothing.

Low profile, flatless tires on the S550 4Matic - My car is leased through my company. I have the car about 17 months. I still have another year and a half on my lease. During this time I have had to have a total of 11 tires replaced and now my car is in for a flat tire once again. The leasing company actually reimbursed me once month lease payment because my car was in the shop for almost 8 weeks. I have had it with this car!!! Im a CEO and need a car that is reliable. I asked to get out of the lease and they stated some preposterous number to pay to get out of it. Im wondering if others with this type of tire are experiencing the same frustration as I am. Im actually afraid to drive my car anywhere for fear I may go into a pothole. I also do not feel safe in it for fear that I may have a blowout. Any suggestions?? My next step is to get an attorney to get me out of this. Until the flatless tires are perfected, Im going to look into an SUV that has substantial tires on it.

I purchased my Mercedes SLK 350 new in 2005. The car currently has 49,000 miles on it. Within the last month while driving, my transmission has gone into neutral causing the car to lose forward motion and not allowing me to regain drive. This occurred on the freeway at 65mph, in traffic on a major boulevard and most recently on a one lane, steep downhill grade in Malibu Canyon. Each time I had to coast off the highway, turn off the motor and wait. Then I would restart the car and it would become drivable again. After the last incident, I took it to Silver Star Mercedes in Thousand Oaks where I have my SLK350 serviced and where I purchased it new in 2005 as a retirement gift to myself. After performing tests, they said it was a defective speed sensor and would cost $2,500 to replace. Even though the car only had 49,000 miles on it, they wouldnt repair it under warranty as the 5 year (50,000 mile) factory warranty had expired. Before authorizing the repair, I researched NHTSA to find out if there had been other reports of the same problem. While there are some reports of this on my model, there have been numerous problems with other Mercedes models speed sensors that have been repaired for Mercedes owners as a safety issue. Some of those repairs were directed by the NHTSA.Considering that the issue seems to be safety related and my Mercedes only had 49,000, well-maintained miles on it, I asked my service rep if he would mind contacting Mercedes about this issue and see if they would repair it or at the least, share in the cost of the sensor repair. Two days later, the dealer contacted me and said Mercedes wasnt interested. I am surprised and disappointed in Mercedes for their seeming lack of interest and Silver Star for not offering a cost adjustment in the absence of Mercedes not reaching out. It is my understanding that Mercedes has become more proactive in safety related issues and gives their dealers more flexibility in situations similar to mine. I have a genuine concern for my familys safety and the safety of other Mercedes owners and their families.

They said there were no error messages in the computer to collaborate her statements of the lights and the gauges going crazy inside and out of the car, with numerous error codes coming up. We later found out Mercedes Benz has their on board computer set to reboot with critical failure there by wiping the memory clean of the event. After other numerous electronic failures and not getting Mercedes to fix or even acknowledge them, even with photos and video, we were almost killed one night on the open highway on Oct 7 2013 when the same event that happened to wife finally occurred with me in the car. When the electronics went on rampage and freak-out lights flashing, bells dinging, flashing error codes and emergency message causing me to try to get the car on the shoulder of the road, I struck a piece of tire left on the road probably by a truck. It took the whole front of the car out. After 6 weeks of waiting for our car I called Fletcher Jones in Nevada. They told me they could not get the error codes to clear but not to worry, they were going to get it cleared up. 2 weeks later we got the car. I asked what it took to get the codes cleared up, he smiled and said the tech crashed the on board computer and it reset itself. When we drove the car back home from Vegas we had transmission trouble and error codes. I called Fletcher Jones in Las Vegas Nevada. They told me to take the car to Fletcher Jones in Ontario, 15 miles from our home in Verdemont CA. They kept the car for a few days and when they returned it they said there was nothing wrong with the transmission and there were no error codes. After several trips back to the dealership, half of the time they would not take the car. They refused to keep it till it was fixed and they would call me when the part came in. Before the part came in we were informed that my father in-law was on his death bed. I called, explained the situation and asked if they could expedite the part so we could take the car back east. I was informed by party dial that their main tech guy, George, said the car was safe to take back east the way it was.On our way out to pa, when we reached Flagstaff we started to have problems with the trunk not closing and the trunk opening while driving on the highway. By St Louis we had electrical problems and the trunk would not lock or close after opening. We drove to pa with trunk wired shut. While in pa the car was at Mercedes 4 times in 5 weeks. We were forced to stay an extra week waiting for parts to come in. We were told that the electronics were screwed up in the front of the car. Just outside to Amarillo Texas the same thing happened with the electronics that caused the accident and damage to the front of the car in October 7 2013. This time we caught it on video. We almost made it to the side of the road just before the car stopped running and went dark. The car coasted to a stop. We had no cell reception. We waited in the car for awhile. Out of desperation I tried to start the car and it sprang to life like nothing happened. Thank god we got this on video. It DID not matter to Mercedes Benz when I sent the video to Fletcher Jones in Ontario. They said not to bring in the car, they would show the video and Mercedes Benz and get back to us. They never DID!!! So much for the mantra the best or nothing.

My husband and I own a business and finally had the fund to purchase a brand new special order 2013 Mercedes Sprinter Van in Fall 2013: FOR CASH, No Financing!! Month one he had brake and electrical issues & each time he went back they told him he was crazy. Month 2-5 (last time brought in was one week ago) weekly visits for failing brakes, emergency lights coming on and scary noises from the van. Each time they find nothing and they tell us there is no recall. How can something become a recall if they wont report the finding??? We were forced to started videotaping things to send them but magically they would tell us it was something he did. The van has less than 2,000 miles but we are the issue. This van has been in and out of service every month but they cant find anything wrong. Each time its there, we lose money, so why would we want to waste their time and ours??? At one time they had it in the shop for over 2 weeks!!! We never had these issues with our used vans. My main fear is the brakes stop working when I have my kids in there or some child is crossing the street and the brakes dont work. We are told every time that they cant find anything wrong. We spent over $55,000 cash and we lose money every time is sits in the shop. The service people have not helped us at all in this dealership and we dont want anyone else to go through this!!! I dont know where else to turn!!!

Day one I proceeded to get the car I’ve always wanted, C300. I purchased a package to take care of the car in case anything happens. I found out 1. The package did not include all I was told, and 2 - I was paying for a feature my car never had. The GPS (send to Benz) was removed and three service places could not figure out what happened to it. “It’s somewhere in cyberspace” is what I was told. I then tried to renew my registration in another state; I needed the title and power of attorney, and Mercedes sent a copy.. the DMV needed to original paperwork. Twice copies were sent. I RS now almost May 2020, been waiting to register my car since March. I’ve been paying for a rental for well over a month. Now with the Covid-19 epidemic DMV is closed. If Mercedes would have sent the documents in the first place I would be registered already. Then I was told I would have to pay over five hundred dollars for them to take back my lease car.. because I refuse to lease or purchase another Mercedes. My dream has been shattered and I’m extremely disappointed with Mercedes. When I ask to speak to a manager it never happened and the customer complaints department just stood quiet as I explained My problems and disappointment.

I leased demo car last year. Everything was okay. And one day, one of my door lock didnt work from the in & outside of car. So I called service center to schedule a maintenance. And before the scheduled date, somehow the door lock started to work again so I explained to them, Now its working but anyway I need to check up all around car. And they gave me C300 for loaner car. I thought that its gonna just couple of days so...C300 was okay. Now it passed over 20 days and Im still waiting my car to be fixed. Repair service center agent called me couple of times and told me that they are still waiting part from Germany which is acceptable. And later they called me back and they dont have any detail information where the part is. No tracking number at all. This is luxury brand, isnt it? How come they dont have any information. Not even ETA. Im still paying my bill and driving a C300. Loaner car is not an issue at all. I can call them to change it. I just...dont understand how their service is bad like this.I dont want to blame the guy who takes care my car. I know there is nothing he can do. But what. When they sell a car, they are so gentle, but they dont even know where the part is. This is very disappointed.

In December 2006, I had a bad car accident. An F150 Ford truck ran a red light and badly damaged my car. (The driver left the scene). I could not walk. My car was in the paint and body shop for almost 5 months & I had to rent a car for that time period. I only had the car 13 months at the time of the accident. The car stayed idle for so many months in the repair shop that the tires were stolen off the car, and Mercedes Benz manager said that was the time the tires should be replaced anyway (thats not true). I was not compensated for the tires. When I finally got the car back, it had swaying issues. I never knew when the car was going to sway, therefore, I was afraid to drive at a high rate of speed. The swaying was very scary!!!. The car went back to Mercedes Benz more than once with swaying complaints. They claimed their technicians could not find anything wrong with the car. I know that Mercedes Benz knew exactly what was wrong with that C280, but everyone denied the issue. Therefore, I had to continue driving the defected car as safely as possible until the lease matured. The swaying issues could have caused a serious accident & possibly death. I would not let anyone else drive it because of the swaying. I finally stopped complaining because it was useless!

I recently purchased a 2016 GLC300 and am appalled by the Navigation System. The GPS gives a one mile prompt when giving turn instructions. I was in the left lane of a 4 lane highway and heard the prompt prepare to turn right... no distance stated... no arrow on GPS screen to show mileage before turn. The prompt is ONE MILE from the turn. I was almost in an accident trying to get from the left lane to the right exit. If anyone uses a GPS on your cell phone you know there is an arrow with mileage stated for your next turn. The GPS on the Mercedes does not have this so you have no idea when your next turn is coming. Then the next prompt is 1/4 mile from the turn. Way TOO little notice for safe driving. Its embarrassing to be driving an expensive car with your cell phone in the cup holder utilizing another navigation system because the Mercedes is SO INADEQUATE. If Mercedes wants to market to younger drivers, they have to catch up with technology. Oh... and another thing... my home address isnt in the GPS system. I was told the system is only updated every year to year and a half. Again... a cell phone Navi system is updated to the minute. Get with the 21st century, Mercedes!

Its a luxury car, heated seats, makes me feel special, and smooth ride. I have received a higher level of admiration and respect from others when I drive my car. Since the car is an older model it does not have technical advances such as a screen on the dashboard to assist with backup parking, which I would love to have.

Many people seem to complain as just read on this site about MB. I currently own a 95 SL500, a 2004 S55, and a 2017 GLC300. If you search for an SUV of the small size like the GLC, you will see that there are many choices and the price seems to be all the same. We looked at GM as I also have a 20 year old Tahoe that I use to tow stuff. For the money the MB is comfortable and particularly nice looking for a car of the type (I will have to say kinda common) but it still has the status of driving a Mercedes. But in many cases we found it cheaper than other brands. As for my 21 year old SL it has 45k on the odometer and I have done all the maintenance like it was being driven every day and I havent thought twice to get in and take a long trip. It cost 102k 20 years ago and my house was a few bucks more, you have to treat it as a car built for speed and handling so expensive is the word to describe the car. Even though you can buy one for 4 thousand bucks, it is still a 100k car.The S55 is simply a great pleasure to drive with so much power and 3 feet between the front seats and the back seat. My only complaint is the model prior was in my opinion better looking but again you expect the car to perform as new and it will with proper fluid changes, brake, cooling etc. This car is as new and handles that way, if you wait for items to break then usually because of engineering many other parts will need repair. The best thing to say is taking care of these cars and learning how to do the maintenance will save money and also let you see problems that are required for a repair. Enough said.

After purchasing brand new 2016 c300, I had two major problems to my car. After a year, on highway speeds after applying breaks the car started shaking really bad. I took the car to my local dealer from where I bought the car. They said the brake pads need to be replaced. Second time, fuel smell started coming inside the vehicle while driving or when it’s parked in my garage. This time, the fuel pipe was leaking. Both the repairs were done properly by my dealer and I was charged $0 since the vehicle is still under warranty. I also got loaner car for the time my car was at the dealer. Very happy with the service provided by dealer and Mercedes!!

GL450 2011, white & tan leather: I purchased this car one year ago from
GL450 2011, white & tan leather: I purchased this car one year ago from North Olmsted in Ohio. It has many upgrades, like leather, woods, steering wheel, unlock handles, running boards, hitch, upgraded rims and tires, BUT no rear heat controls...etc. Lets start here: When It was delivered to my home, the engine was running really hard, sounding like a1980 diesel gone bad. I took it in and they said it was fine & was suppose to sound that way, & will be driving it back to me tomorrow. The next day another service manager was working & calked me saying I was having engine problems, & did I know that?... I said yes thats why its there. Subsequently the engine was completely replace due to the cylinder walls being scorched. Wow!! Good thing the other manager was off that day! Oh and I need to mention too, when the dealership delivered it the first day, they tried to pull a fast one on me! They took my rims and tires off, gave them to another customer, & didnt ask or tell me. I called them out on it, and their excuse was it will ride better for you, lol! They replaced them again but with old rims and somewhat new tires! Whatever. Now with the heat issue; It does have the two fans. However they will only blow when the front passenger has it set at 72 or lower Im told. Ok, then why arent they working but 10% of the time. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to operate this car. So they said the fans were disconnected by the previous owner.? What? Ok. So then they said again about the front passenger needing to have their temp set at 72 or lower for them to operate....Nope...Sorry, no they dont work properly. I have a severely disabled child whom cannot tell me if hes cold or hot or not, and the rear heat that barely blows under the seat hardly works, & gets blocked if anything falls on the floor. Kids drop things. Now Im trying out the mbrace security system. Its not compatible to my car due to the model & the electronic programming done by the dealer, I was told by the technical mbrace operated. She said take it in at no charge & dont take it home until they fix it. Most likely Ill be taking home not fixed, after how Ive been treated with issues thus far. If you dont buy new, then scat! Telling me to trade for a new one every time! Is there any after market equipment that I can add to this issue not being fixed by the dealer? I realize this will ruin my warranty, but this is a significant issue that needs fixed one way or another. Please give me any advice you may have.

This is a serious safety issue. Our car suddenly stalls [three times] while driving. The reason was a failing [failed] crank sensor. Mercedes never informed owners of this serious safety issue. Our vehicle was past their factory warranty, therefore we had to pay $504 due to the this problem. Mercedes Headquarters in New Jersey refused all or any compensation. Safety issues do not end because the factory warranty expired. Maybe they should experience the stress and helpless feeling of driving 65 miles an hour and have the engine shut off!

They would not warranty the engine even though records were provided. Left me without a car and expected me to pay for it out of pockets over $8000. The car was drivable when I brought it to the shop, was there 3 weeks then they said engine stopped. Sounds more like whatever they tried to repair they caused more damage and Mercedes-Benz USA no warranty.

My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.

I have two keys for my 2006 350. I have replaced the batteries over the years no problem with that at all. Recently, I went to replace the battery in set of keys but that didnt work for all the functions. I could lock my car but not open it... strange huh. So I went to my alternate set of keys, used them for a while and then that set didnt work either... weird. I could open my car doors but couldnt lock them. So I have been using 2 sets of keys to run my car. Doesnt make sense to me.So I contacted my Mercedes Dealership and explained the issue. They said, No problem. Come in and we will order you 2 new sets of keys. Sounds good so far... but not too fast. Each set would be $300. Mercedes wants me to pay $600 to replace Faulty keys. I didnt lose them... I just used them since I have had the car. Now they dont work properly. So I have to pay Mercedes $600 so I can operate my car and replace faulty keys. I have never heard that before. I could understand if I lost keys... but I didnt... they just stopped working correctly. So for being a good customer (repeat customer) I am now saddled with a $600 charge to replace faulty equipment. If I do that... which I must... there is no guaranty the new keys will last either. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... COME ON MAN!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a C350 2009 that has a transmission double shifting problem from 11K miles. When car is cold, once you pass from park to drive with the brakes applied, you get two hits to get in driving mode. The first one is the common sensation of getting in drive; the second one is like somebody is hitting your rear bumper. After two years driving the car to Mercedes Benz of Pembroke Pines where they tried all possible solutions directed by MB USA, which include repairing transmission, changing computer programs, replacing a transmission, placing a new parts from Germany and more that can be seen in my car maintenance history, all of this represents two years of stress and loss of my time. Today, I was surprised that MB USA got the conclusion based on one of their specialists that the issue in my car is common for all other cars same model parked at the dealer. Is this not amazing? All the money and time spent to fix my complaint got the great and funny conclusion that this is part of the car design? It is offensive. It is frustrating that we, the customers, look for a good and guaranteed car that make our driving and lives easy without problems and results that now I cannot believe in Mercedes Benz as my dream car because MB is designing and building cars that have issues hidden, not described in their owner manual or at least notified to customers. What is happening with one of the best car brands in the world? For sure Ill not purchase any other Mercedes Benz in my life and will not recommend anybody believing on brands. All are the same! If somebody has a suggestion on how I may elevate my frustration and solve this situation is more than welcome to contact me.

I recently (Nov 2014) traded in my C-300 (2012) for the new C-300 (2015) at the London dealership. After a few weeks my daughter complained that her door (left passenger door) would not close properly. We unfortunately ignored her and continued driving the vehicle. Later in January, whilst driving with my family the rear door alarm came on, in a panic I asked my daughter to hold the door while I parked in the emergency lane. On inspection I noticed the door handle awkwardly open, even with constant pushing the door would not close!I took the car into the London dealership where the car was inspected (I also pointed out other quality concerns which I still feel have not been addressed). Later in the evening I was told, We have checked the back door and oiled the mechanism/door lock and this should fix the problem. On my further instance I was told the whole door locking system would be replaced as a precaution until then I could drive my car as it was safe to do so. Happy that qualified Mercedes Benz technical staff had given me a green light to drive without fear of safety concerns I returned home. One week after, the same incident repeated itself with my family in the car! I called the team at service adviser and informed him of the incident. I expected to hear something reassuring but was told the parts were on backorder, I will get back to you tomorrow on how we can solve this for you. As Mercedes Benz, I would expect a much higher standard of product quality and customer care, both of which are absent. Does Mercedes Benz not care about serious safety concerns on their cars? I fear not only for my safety but the safety of other families that may experience this or worse. Please live up to the promise you make to your customers.

This is my first time owning a Mercedes and I must say, it has been thoroughly disappointing!! Heres my issues with the Manufacturer and the Car: This is a plug-in hybrid so I expect it to charge at any Charge Point locations available. My C350e DOES NOT charge at my work location - I have 8 Charge Point stations here, none of them work for my car!! The charging stations work for 15+ different models though with no issues - Nissan Leaf, Chevy Bolt, Volt, Prius, Ford, BMW i3, i8... The list goes on. But my Mercedes WOULD NOT charge here. And when I call Mercedes Customer Service they told me as long as it charges at home thats all they care about. The Charge Point stations is not their concern. I used to own a VW eGolf and I charged it at work for last 3 years without any issues. My primary reason for choosing the Mercedes C350e model was to receive the HOV lane sticker for it, Mercedes Pleasanton dealer told me they take care of DMV forms for it - this was great to hear. Exactly 2 months after the purchase of my car, I heard back from DMV that Mercedes has sent outdated form for the HOV lane sticker. Now I have lost 2 months time due to inefficient people working at the dealership!! The clock starts again now! Mercedes has an App for iPhone which can help with many functionalities of the car - called Mbrace. I wasnt able to link my car to my account for several days. Mercedes and Mbrace customer service kept blaming each other for the issues with the App - finally it got resolved when I had to take them on a conference call.In general I have noticed that Mercedes has silos within their customer service department - instead of providing solutions to customers they provide the GO-TO info and their phone numbers to me. This is very frustrating and I did not experience it with my other cars - VW, BMW, Toyota, Honda etc. Overall its my first time owning a Mercedes and so far I am yet to receive 1 satisfying answer from their customer service department. I wish there was a way to return this car!! Do I have any options?

I live in Pennsylvania and have a 400 ft driveway that go up to my house. My Mercedes handles so well going up my driveway that I do not worry about getting home. People ask me why I take my Mercedes out in the snow and not my 4x4 pickup truck. I tell them I trust my Mercedes more than the pickup truck.

I purchased a 2018 MB GLE 350 4 months ago with the expectation that the vehicle would have certain functioning amenities. WRONG!! I now own a $70,000 car that cannot even be started remotely because the Mercedes Me app NEVER works! I have to physically walk outside every morning and start the thing to warm up. I’ve called numerous times and am always told the app is down and being worked on. I’m sorry, but if this is true, they need better IT personal because millions of apps work perfectly well all the time. You will not receive any customer service and your level of frustration will increase exponentially with every call. The vehicle also lacks other ‘basic’ options such as a touchscreen radio/GPS, horrible voice recognition without your iPhone attached. (Thank God for Apple Play or the entire enter system would be basically useless!) The seat warmer and defroster does not come on automatically. On the rare occasion the remote start does work so after 10 minutes your windshield is still covered with ice, and I could go on with more issues but will stop there. I’ve always owned Jeep Grand Cherokees and wish more than anything I still did!!! Seriously, do not waste your money on a MB, read all the reviews carefully and save yourself the disappointment!

I bought a Mercedes G 55 AMG in March 2013 for more than a Crore rupees and its been giving problems from day 1. This machine is a total failure, probably a bad production piece which they have given to me. I have had fuel pipes bursting, brake pedal plays, fuel tank issues, fuel system problem, starting problems and various other problems in their so called top of the line SUV and I have tried to complain to everybody from bottom to top but nobody is ready to help. All they are offering is a extended warranty which they offer to any customer who make s even a little bit of noise. I have had the worst experience of my life with Mercedes Benz India. After buying this car I have had this in their workshop for nearly 100 days already... I really dont know what to do and whom to approach for this problem. Any help would be appreciated..

We purchased a 2010 GLK 350 with around 70,000 miles on it. It performed well for several years although the headlights do not light far enough down the road. The driver seat MB-Tex upholstery failed in two places very quickly. $1100 repair. At about 100,000 miles the car would not start. The electronic ignition system had to be replaced for $2000. It had Takata airbags so my wife refused to drive it while we waited a year or so for them to be replaced. While waiting, the passenger door lock stopped working so that the door would not open. $1000 repair. About the time the airbags were replaced during the last year two other messages occurred on the dash. Problem with driver seatbelt connection and problem with the passenger seat sensor. $2400 to repair. We are ready to sell it to avoid more repairs.

I have replaced 3 tires on my C350 in the past 2 years or so. A blow out at 100km/hr on the highway and 2 tires that have bulges on the inside of the tire that needed to be replaced. I am told by a local tire specialist Fountain tire that I need to replace both tires on the rear and having spend a small fortune I am not prepared to do that. I was advised with low profile tires and the winters in Alberta that this is something I need to get used to and keep paying for replacement every couple of years. These are continental tires and I am considering changing brand and height profile of the tire... Pretty choke with being sold a 4matic that I love to drive but finding out the tires sold are not the right ones for our climate..

Mercedes GLE 350 SUV - I experienced sudden acceleration that caused me to shoot out from an auto wash about 75 yards. A small tree stopped me otherwise I would have landed on a busy road. Airbags came out. All engine front totally damaged. I received minor injuries.

I have purchased about less than a year ago an E350 MB car, brand new from the local dealer in Windsor ON. I started to have water condensation in the right side head lamp. I took the car for its yearly service and advised the dealership of this problem. I showed them the water inside the lamp. There is no damage to the cover, which indicates clearly a break in the seal. Initially I received a response that this problem is not covered by the warranty as it is considered a wear and tear (after less than a year in a part that is not involved in any mechanical movement), then I was told that the problem is so small, it doesnt warrant repair!! Then I was asked to take photos and send them to the dealership and they will send them to MB Canada to convince them that the problem exist!! I found all these excuses outrageous. I am very dissatisfied. After all I am supposedly buying a luxury car, to have such a problem is not acceptable let alone being denied the repair and given lousy excuses.

On November 2011, my 2005 SLK350 stopped shifting out of first gear. I had car towed to EuroMotors, and they did diagnostic test for $105.00. They told me it would be $4,331.15 to fix. I called a local import repair shop and had it towed to them. The owner of the shop has had the car for 2 months, trying to get parts from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes keeps saying the repair parts are back-ordered and that Mercedes dealerships get them first. I spoke to a Mercedes service manager in California, who informed me that this transmission valve body and intake manifolds are widespread problems with their cars. I then called MB of North America, and they denied there was a widespread problem and that there is no recall. They told me that the independent import repair owner can order these parts. The owner of the repair shop has called every dealership in the tri-state area and was being told he cant order the parts needed to repair my little red car that I have painstakingly paid for over the last 5 years.I had car towed again to MB Keenan Motors, and they said they have to do a diagnostic test. I told them I already did that and would have results sent to them. No, they said, cant accept tests from different dealership. I have been told that the transmission is a widespread problem, and yet, MB will not recall. I would like to research a class-action suit.
