Lexus LX 4x4 Gets Rescued From The Ocean
Posted On: November 18, 2022

We would usually expect to see the Lexus LX bashing about the dunes or roaming the suburbs, depending on what country it happens to be in. This latest video posted by LC300.qa on Instagram shows a previous-generation model emerging from the seas of the United Arab Emirates, which isn't an environment we would expect to see it.

There's no explanation as to how this SUV made its way into the sea, but one thing we can be sure about is that this car is probably going to have to be scrapped.

The labor needed to clear out the salt water and replace all the corroded parts is certainly not worth the effort, especially in a country where you can get a solid gold ingot from a vending machine. The owner more than likely already has a new LX on order. As the LX gets dragged out of the ocean, we see significant cosmetic damage to the front, including the lights, grille, and bumper, and a chunk of dirt and debris that falls out of the water when the doors are opened. Thankfully, it appears as if no one was hurt in this horrific incident.

While this is a curious situation, unfortunately, it looks like we aren't getting any clear answers as to how it landed up there in the first place. If we had to guess, overconfidence is the most likely candidate. As we know, hubris has been the downfall of many a person.

However, if you are in the market for an ocean-damaged premium large SUV for a restoration project, you might want to start getting your checkbooks ready. If the owner is indeed trading up to a new-generation Lexus LX, they may need to get in line as the brand has a long waiting list for the TNGA-based SUV, with some reports suggesting a delivery time of up to 12 months. At least this is not as bad as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, which currently has a four-year waiting period.

The LX can be adapted for serious off-road usage, which is what it needs if it is going to traverse the Middle East, but we doubt it can be outfitted for ocean use.

If you want to traverse the sea in style, we suggest considering a Lamborghini yacht if you can foot the almost $4 million price tag. Needless to say, there is never an occasion where you should use a road-based car as a boat, even if the creators tell you that it might be possible.

My local Lexus of Kendall (FL) dealer nor Lexus corporate have resolved a problem with my 2013 ES 300h after many attempts. Lexus of Kendall dealer said if I maintain my car with them they will fight for me should there be any problem with the manufacturer in the future, so I did. Well, I reported a defect in the backseat leather shortly after my 25k maintenance appointment November 2016 while my car was under warranty. The backseat perforated leather dried and shrunk causing tension on the rest of the seat. It feels very rough and hard to the touch. The manager at the dealer took photographs, and said he will contact the manufacturer. After several months of leaving messages with Lexus of Kendall operator and voicemails I was told the manager no longer works there, and another manager (Bernardo) took over his work. I came in person to meet with new manager March 2017, by which point the problem area became larger, and same problem started to happen on the other side. He took more photos, said its not a Lexus defect because on one side it is perfect circle. I contacted corporate, submitted photos, and they asked Bernardo to weigh in. He said I caused the damage but could not explain how, and if there was a defect in the leather he would not be able to tell unless the leather was taken off and he can examine the back side of it. Corporate said I will need an expert in leather to run tests and determine the cause. I have never heard of such a response for warranty coverage. They denied to fix my car while under the warranty. I contacted the 3rd party dispute resolution address, provided by Lexus, several times with no reply.I purchased the car used with 6k miles in 2013 in perfect condition. Since then I rarely used or had passengers in the backseat. When I did have passengers the trips were short, just a few blocks in the city, and my passengers are slim. My car is stored under a carport, in a garage when I am at work, and my windows are tinted so the inside temperature does not get hot often. I have had others cars such as Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Honda over 100k miles and much older that did not have such quality issues even with daily use. My Lexus has premium leather with Luxury package, it should withstand at minimum light use. The problem from initial report to current has grown in size, and continues to grow. Terrible dealer customer service and misinformation, terrible experience with corporate. First and last Lexus. Photos from March 2017 and Feb 2019 are attached.

These comments are to reinforce other postings about the inflated reputation of Lexus vehicles for reliability. We currently own a RX 330 and IS 350. The RX had a transmission seal fail at 70,000 miles and the water pump on the IS 350 failed after 34,000 miles. Both vehicles were out of warranty when these failures occurred, but given the low mileage, I contacted Lexus Service to request help covering the cost of repairs. They politely declined. I am writing this to warn any prospective luxury car buyers that in my experience the Lexus reputation for reliability is not justified. The additional premium we pay for their vehicles compared to other regular brands is not warranted. I will never buy another Lexus again.

Lexus offers luxury, stability and performance. They have over 3 different versions of each model to choose from and theyre all quality. The distinct appearance and standard features of this car brand include its body shape, how it handles on the road, and the amazing quality of the interior let you know you bought a luxury vehicle. The various upgrade and personalization options include very, very expensive parts. Buying upgrades for these brands put you out of pocket quite a bit of money so its best to just buy the one youre comfortable with and not upgrade parts. This brands passenger capacity is that its the same as every other car brand. If its a four seater, its a four seater. Maybe you can fit one more uncomfortably. But its the same. No special space for more.

My Lexus car is small black and gray and red from the inside which I think is amazing because of the colors because I dont see a lot of people with the same colors. I feel like it is one of the most beautiful cars in the world just from its appearance. I would not buy any other car that looked different. I think I am the richest person on earth just looking at my car. It works amazing and I think that it is the best car ever and that everyone should buy one someday or you might not be lucky because of its upgrades and personalization options. However, I dont like how there is only 2 seats but I wish there were 4 to 5 to make more people sit in the car of amazingness. I also like how there is two seats because it drives faster and it is more customized.

My 2007 Lexus 350 right front headlight has had condensation since the time I purchased the vehicle for my wife in November. I am a used car dealer and have always had a preference for the Lexus line due to the quality and customer service. When I contacted our local Lexus dealer (Mcdermott, where I service my Lexus inventory and my personal es330) they indicated that the warranty had just expired in November but they felt Lexus would give me some compensation, if not honor the warranty. After I had the car inspected I was contacted by Lexus and they said, quite frankly, they denied the claim and that was it!! Do not bother to discuss the matter further, that was it. Now I am faced with a bill of $700+ for a problem that Lexus has acknowledged. Is this any way to be treated by a customer and a dealership which specialized in Lexus line?

Lexus was a recommendation from someone I know and from third-party reviews (e.g., Consumer Reports, Edmunds). My experience/relationship with salesperson and customer service was good. I prefer this brand/model for connectivity technology (e.g., smartphone, tablet, media), good acceleration/engine performance, seating capacity, residual/resale value, hybrid, diesel-fueled and electric powertrain options, interior roominess and minivan options. Also, quality / workmanship / AWD (All Wheel Drive) / off road capability / handling / warranty options / value for the money / price / maintenance / operating expenses / SUV / crossover options / durability / reputation of the brand / model.

Lexus offers something such as a map and it also offers a useful something that makes sure you dont bump into anything. Its also helpful when youre lost and has many stuff. Im satisfied because it looks great to me with painted red and with the map and controls, with a safety system for getting in and out of a parking spot. There is enough capacity to seat 5 people so Im happy with that and also has an opening in the middle back seat to store something.

My wife and I have a Lexus 430. The trunk lid has an electric power latch which automatically operates to pull the lid down tight when the lid is closed. On 9/30/13, I pulled the switch that opens the trunk in order to allow my wife to take out groceries that were inside the trunk. As my wife was in the course of lifting the trunk lid with her fingers, the latch unexpectedly and without warning activated to close the lid on her fingers with such crushing force that her finger bone was fractured, and her fingernail was pulled out. My wife has been suffering excruciating pain since the mishap! The Lexus owners manual does not give any warning or advice about how to open or close the trunk lid. If Lexus had warned of the danger of the power latch coming down while one was attempting to raise the lid, my wife would never have opened the trunk lid with her fingers!

No customer service at all. I would like to express my disappointment about the recent experience I had at Lexus of Rockville on December 21, 2016. Initially, the Service Manager, Andy and Supervisor, Jose were courteous & respectful. They provided me with a loaner vehicle while waiting for my insurance rep to come and look at my car. This took about five days. The dealership completed a diagnostic on my car as well. After approximately a week and half I received a call from the service Supervisor (Jose) and he instructed me to return the loaner back, which I did, that same day. Upon returning the loaner, I was notified by the Service Manager (Andy) that he and his staff were instructed by Peter ** (GM) not to service my car. When I asked why, they could not provide me a reason, refused to provide service to my car, treated me with extreme disrespect and escorted me off the property like a criminal. I did nothing to merit this type of treatment.Throughout the incident I remained calm and courteous despite their mistreatment I received. My vehicle has been serviced at this location many times in the past without any issues. As an ** man, the interaction was humiliating beyond words and not worthy of the Lexus (YES WE CAN) brand. In this day and age where respect for individuals and cultures has become lost, I expected more from Lexus. This unsatisfactory Customer Service experience was further exacerbated by the lack of service I received after reporting the incident. When reaching out to your corporate office, I was assured by the front desk person at that time someone would get back to me on this matter and discuss the issue, I have yet to receive the simple courtesy of a call or email from Sonic Automotive. I hoped to hear from Sonic Automotive or Lexus Corporation soon to bring a resolution to this extremely disheartening situation.

My 2007 IS250 started showing signs of being wet and sticky on the dash and the door panels. I come to find out, there is a TSIB on this that covers vehicles 4 yrs/50,000 miles. Well, it didnt start happening until 5 yrs/60,000 miles for me. Lexus corporate offered to cover dash 100%, door panels 50%, but not any labor. The dealer didnt budge on labor either. Total cost to me would be $2,431. That is roughly 10% of the value of the car. Thats too much to have to spend to repair a 5-year old luxury car that has a known defect. Attached is the TSIB and some photos. I have also been met with rude customer service from Dave ** from JM Lexus. This experience has changed me from being a lifetime Lexus owner to looking at trading in my car for something other than a Lexus.

I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is
I have significant concerns about my 2006 Lexus IS 350 that the company is refusing to remedy. I have written a letter in an appeal to Lexus to correct a dangerous engineering and design flaw. I have also spoken to the dealership (to no avail) and the department specialist of customer service at Lexus. He assured me that he has taken my concerns to the appropriate managers at Lexus headquarters (this essentially means that they arent willing to acknowledge or correct the issue). At first, I believed the problem was just an irritating inconvenience. The other night, I have discovered that it is a major safety hazard. I have a 2006 IS 350 whose computer touch screen navigation system has stopped working. This is obviously a major inconvenience as it is not just the navigation that doesnt work, it is also the air conditioning controls, the heating controls, the radio controls, the CD/MP3 player, the computer settings and the rear view camera! All of the radio presets were erased without any way to reset them. There is no way to adjust the fan settings for the a/c or heater, I can no longer adjust the base/treble/fade, the backup camera only works 10% of the time and of course, the navigation system is completely non-functional. As the car is only 5 years old and supposedly, a precision, luxury vehicle, one would not expect such major malfunctions affecting multiple systems. Unfortunately, for some reason, they designed all of these systems to be dependent on the navigation computer.I first contacted the company about this issue over the summer and did not receive a satisfactory remedy. I was essentially told that because so many of the computers were having problems, the company was offering to pay of the cost of the replacement part (but not the labor). Indeed, when I explored the issue on the internet, I found hundreds of posts about this problem and other navigation system issues! Given that the company was not willing to replace the defective screen, I would still have to pay over $1200 to $1500 to cover the cost of repair. Like many people, I do not have that amount of money to spend on an engineering mistake. In addition, I feel that it is wrong to ask the consumer to pay to fix something that is obviously flawed and not a result of owner misuse or wear and tear. Frankly, I had much higher expectations of Lexus and was dismayed and disappointed that the company was offering such a paltry remedy for such a major issue! This is an exasperating design flaw and definitely tainted my opinion of the quality of the Lexus product, warranty and customer service. However, I did not realize that this system failure was dangerous until the night of the 18th. Over the last week, the screen has started flashing as the system is trying to load. This is annoying and somewhat distracting in the daylight. However, when the screen flashed a very bright light that night as I was making a left turn at a busy intersection, I almost had an accident. Startled by the sudden light and thinking that the bright flash was the headlights of an oncoming car, I inadvertently swerved into oncoming traffic and narrowly missed being hit by two other cars.I implored Lexus to issue a safety recall for this problem and replace all of the touch screen systems that have malfunctioned before a tragic accident is caused. Although I realize the cost of replacing these systems is a significant consideration, it will be a small price to pay compared to the bad publicity, loss of consumer confidence, reduction of sales and not to mention, loss of human life that will occur if the issue is not rectified, and if the company does not react responsibly and proactively. Their response to my appeal was to offer the same remedy as last summer, 50% off of the component cost with no willingness to issue a recall or investigate the issue further.I have covered the screen with a piece of cardboard so that it cant happen to me again, but I worry about other people who may be unaware that this can happen. Especially since there were many reports online of Lexus owners who were having trouble with their navigation systems. I was very lucky to escape injury.

I have a 2007 RX350 with 50,000 Km on it. I noticed oil drops on the garage floor. Dealership cleaned underneath the car and when I took it back for them to check where the leak was coming from, they said it was the timing chain cover; the whole engine must come down and the cost would be around CDN$2,500. If I do not have it fixed, can I just top up the engine oil or would there be other consequences?

Looks like this services is completely broken. Sadly enough this feature was one of major reasons why I decide to buy this specific car (as opposed to 3 other choices). I leased NX 200t 2 weeks ago. Since then I must have spent 3-4 hours on the phone with Lexus support. Still no resolution. I received no call backs nor a response of any kind. While on call I felt I was simply being placated by Lexus reps. Apparently I am not the only one who experience this issue. This is a systematic problem which impacts many new owners of Lexus who are trying to use their Enform services. I dont know about others but Lexus is going have to work very hard to convince to buy another car from them.

I leased ES 300 from Pohanka Lexus. After 28000 miles the Bridgestone tires are bald. I reached out to Bridgestone, they told me that the ES300 is a high performance tire and go bald in 30000 miles. I told them that I drive Hybrid for more mileage and I dont race. The service department told me that the Bridgestone tires are bad tires and I need to replace it with Michelin tires as they will last for 60000 miles. When I approached Lexus Warranty, they took over a week and got back to me. The Warranty department told me that the ES 300 Bridgestone tires are bad and I need to buy new set of tire as it is not covered in the Warranty. When I checked with them about bumper to bumper warranty, they told me that tire is not covered. I told him that I have a Ford Fusion hybrid and I changed the tire after 75000 miles. The dashboard on my 2007 Lexus ES 350 is so sticky and melting. I contacted the corporate office and they referred me to Lexus of Pembroke Pines service department to take a picture of the dash and they would forward the photos to them. After they received the photo, I was told that they had to look at my maintenance history with Lexus to decide what they would do to resolve my problem since my car was out of warranty. I stopped having my car maintenance done at Lexus last year because of the issues I always would run in to with the service department at the North Miami Beach dealership. They always wanted to push off extra things that I didnt come there for. And when I would refuse they would have an attitude. So I decided, why spend your money at a business where there is bad customer service skills.I faithfully had my car serviced the entire time that I had my car. When I asked to speak with someone else at the Corporate office they decided that they will pay for the labor and I can pay for the parts. I feel that when you buy a Lexus, you should never have to worry about a issue like a melting sticky dashboard. I have purchased Hondas, Mercedes Benz, and Jaguar and never had an issue like this. I will be in the market again for a new car and I will not take a change and buy another Lexus and have to worry that the same thing will happen.

There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadnt seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasnt driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasnt been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. Ive been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I cant sell the car as is because it wont pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I cant sell it as an individual and if I keep it, Ill be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. My car failed due to the battery compartment taking on water. I went to the dealership and they advised me to put in a claim with my insurance company. My insurance company denied the claim as there was a service bulletin from 2009 about how to repair the issue. Needless to say my car is out of warranty and has over 130,000 miles on it. Regardless I was never aware of the bulletin. Had I been made aware of this I would have had the car fixed at my expense to avoid this issue. Why would they relay to the insurance company and not notify the customer and keep this a secret. Was it to avoid a recall of the cars? There is a blog site where the issue has come up on these cars. Where there not enough complaints? On a positive note corporate was advised of my issue and has agreed to offer a warranty price which came out to approximately 4300 to 4900 hundred dollars. Needless to say, this is much more than my 500 dollar deductible that the insurance company would have received if this bulletin had not come up. I love my Lexus RX 400 and recommend the cars there are the best of the best. Its this issue that keeps me up at night. I am still trying to resolve and feel that I should not have had to pay anything.

I purchased my car new in 2007. Its a white Lexus GS350. I cant justify buying a NEW car because Ive never had any trouble with my car and it purrs like a kitten, very quiet outside and inside. I do bring my car in for its regular maintenance check ups and oil change services. On top of the superior maintenance; each trip includes customer care services when I bring my car in for services. And, provides condiments, beverages, magazine/newspapers, TV and wifi services extraordinaire! The car itself has great pick up energy. I need to have this capability if Im heading onto a steady stream of traffic. Push the pedal to the metal and you will be impressed. Also, I receive lots of compliments about how smooth the car ride is. People are very complimentary providing positive comments about my car; ride, comfort, Looks like new comments. Even though my car is a pure white, I have on a few (almost unnoticeable) pinpoint chips from roadway sand, rocks, etc. You probably wouldnt notice it but I would. To me, this means the car has an excellent original paint job. LOVE MY LEXUS! Okay, my only complaint and its a big one for me, the front wheel hub caps ALWAYS turn a nasty dirty look 2 days after its been washed and dried. Drives me crazy!!! Am told that its normal and nothing can be done. Hmmm? Seems like with technology, there would be such a fairly easy solution. Lexus... need to work on this!!!

Im very disappointed on how Lexus is handling the recall on my NX 300 2019. I felt that no one in either dealership or Customer Service are willing to assist us. Currently they only providing a $35 a day rental car to replace my NX 300 until Lexus figure out the problem and find the resolutions. First Lexus should have not sold any cars that are not quality controlled and tested. Currently I have to settle to drive a Ford while paying for a Lexus car; this does not make any sense at all. The least Lexus can do is to provide us with another Lexus car that are safe to drive.

Its funny how Lexus is marketing this brand as a luxury car but forgets to stand behind the cheap quality product when a problem arises. At 10,000 miles Ive ended up paying for an alignment as the car was pulling badly to the side. Bear in mind the car was never involved in any collision. The alignment didnt solve the problem and the car is still pulling. At 20,000 miles Im ending up with the breaks at 0!!! How is that even possible for a quality car? No consideration for customers concerns or complaint. Now I know why Lexus is not willing to cover anything under their warranty which proves that Lexus is fully aware of the poor quality, cheap parts used for their cars! SHAME ON YOU LEXUS! Tax tags and out the door at $45,000. I love it though. Everything in the dash is touch or talk controlled. There were a lot of expensive packages I could have added to my car such as rims, speakers, stereo, leather, etc. but I kept it modest because I wanted to get out under $50,000. The back can fit 3 people, the front can fit 2, so five people total. Even 3 adults can fit comfortably across the back seat and probably can fit 2 car seats.

I have a Lexus IS250 2008. Always park my car in my driveway, lived in the same place for 3 years and had my car for 3 years too. One night, came home, locked my car like every time. Next day woke up, getting ready to go to work, open my car and for my surprise my airbag was stolen - my whole entire system. They took the most expensive items from the car. They did not cut alarm wires or broke into the car. Made a police report, gave them evidence of what we found. We found what they call is a ghost key. This type of keys open any coded car without getting the alarm to go on. I contacted the dealer customer service and I ask how safe and secured is their car and they told me that it was the best car in security system. When I told them what had happened to my car they didnt know what to say and didnt want to help. My insurance told me that my car was a total loss. I was mad and disappointed with the Lexus company. I had a BMW before and it is a better secured car than the Lexus.

I made a huge mistake buying a Lexus, I thought if I bought the most expensive model I would be happy. Boy was I wrong. For the past 20 months (16000 miles) this car has had nothing but problems and has spent more time in the dealership than on the road. In the first 3 months the transmission went, car would not move. They replaced it and all seemed well, until it started having problems starting. Once in awhile the car would crank and not start. I sent it back to the dealer and they never found a problem with the car. This has happened at least 7 times in the last year. At least they tow it for me for free. Last week the gauges just started going berserk so they are looking at that now, while I am again in a rental car. Other problems have been with the windows, the brake system, and the air conditioning. I am trying to get a refund under the lemon law, so I can get a BMW or a Mercedes. Never again will I buy one of these cars.

He could do a dissertation on Lexus history which I found fascinating plus there is no match for his wonderful sense of humor. In addition, it’s not over with the signing of the contract. Charlie has said that I can call him anytime I have a question about the car! This has been validated and is such a great pleasure to have this option. Exploding glass moonroofs. If you are investigating the purchase of a Lexus with a glass moonroof...beware. They have a tendency to explode for no reason. I was on a desert highway with no vehicles in front of me and all of a sudden my sunroof/moonroof exploded. It sounded like a gun going off over my head and it nearly caused me to wreck it had shocked me so much. I did a little research and apparently this issue is an ongoing one with many other drivers reporting the exact circumstance. The Lexus corporate folks are very, very rude about this and will not help you or offer to pay for what is obviously a manufacturer defect.Very sad to see they will not stand by their product. I will be seeking legal remedy but in the meanwhile, if you must buy a Lexus, stay away from the cars with the glass moonroofs. You could be driving and not only have a sudden shock that can scare the life out of you but if your interior moonroof shade is also open at the same time, you could get badly injured by the falling broken glass shards. Very dangerous.

My first experience with Lexus of Wilmington was about 3 and a half years ago. I had just purchased my GX470 which had a few months of the manufacturers warranty remaining. I had the car inspected by my mechanic. He said he noticed a little coolant residue near one of the inlet/outlet pipes and suggested I take it to a dealer to replace the seals at this location. I called Lexus of Wilmington and explained the issue to a service manager. The service manager told me that such an issue was not covered under the 3 year warranty. I then called the service department at Lexus of Atlantic City and spoke with Chuck **. He told me the repair I needed was in fact covered by the warranty. He told me to bring my vehicle in and theyd fix it free of charge. FIXED, done, no charge, free loaner, and my car was clean as a whistle when I picked it up.A few months ago I filled the tank at the usual gas station. This gas station was closed for a week while they replaced their pumps. I waited until they reopened and then filled up. The fuel I got had a load of metal particles in it. My vehicle began running poorly. I tried to leave it with Lexus of Atlantic City but they had just closed. I had no choice but to take it to the nearest Lexus dealer I could find. I reluctantly left the vehicle with Lexus of Wilmington. They had to drain the gas tank and replace filters and all the fuel injectors. That repair cost $3007.00. I picked the vehicle up and within 50 miles of driving my gas gauge went dead. I took the vehicle back to Lexus of Wilmington.Their diagnosis was that a part they replaced had, as said to me, (fried) and now my gas gauge too was (fried). I was told that it had nothing to do with the previous repair work. I asked if the previous repair had never happened would the gas gauge have been (fried) anyway. I was told this recent damage would have happened anyway. When I picked up my vehicle I was told the good news that the part they previously replaced in the gas level sending process was under warranty (one of the fried parts). I tried to suggest that perhaps a mechanic made a mistake or a faulty replacement part had shorted out my gas gauge. The service manager reluctantly wrote on a parts sheet (No explanation, poss. power surge from previous repair). The gas gauge remediation required a new dash panel (the whole thing, tach, speedo, etc.) which cost me $1310.20.Im not a Lexus mechanic but I believe the facts speak for themselves. Either a mistake or faulty part led to this $1300 repair. Lexus of Wilmington would not entertain the notion that they or Lexus parts should take responsibility for the subsequent repair expense I incurred. The loaners I was provided made me think of trading my vehicle in for a new one.Although Im aware that service and sales are not related I cannot bring myself to engage in the purchase of a vehicle from this dealership. I think the ability to explain good experiences or problems with a dealership in a venue like this are invaluable to the consumer. I suggest to anyone reading this that they should keep service and sales separate when evaluating a dealership. Lexus of Wilmington does a good job in their sales (I sent my nephew there and they gave him a great deal) but if you read the service comments only you will see that the quality of their service departments customer satisfaction has deteriorated.

My first experience with Lexus dealerships here in WI put a sour taste in my face. In 2011 (I have an 05 rx 330) I took my vehicle in for the brake recall. Of course they said my brakes were fine but sent me home with an estimate for 5,000 in repairs needed. I was in tears but the car ran fine. Later found out none of it was true. My front headlamps have seized from moisture inside and they are so cloudy and dull I am afraid to drive at night. Lexus did NOT HONOR THE HEADLAMP WARRANTY. Later I went for an estimate for a clock spring repair, I was charged 180.00 for diagnoses of what I had already had diagnosed. No support from Corporate Office. Never again.

Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?

My wife purchased her second new Lexus SUV in 2013 and was a diehard Lexus repeat customer. Her new Lexus RX450H is an expensive luxury class vehicle, and she justifiably had expectations that it would be a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle. It turned out that it is none of the above, and furthermore the Lexus people not only don’t stand behind their product, but knowingly deceive their customers regarding the quality of their products at the time of purchase. This vehicle and many other Lexus models have a faulty evaporator component in the air conditioning system which drains condensation into the cabin causing mildew and bacteria to develop and grow. We became aware of this after the terrible smell inside the vehicle became noxious. The Henderson, Nevada dealership where we purchased changed the filters at our cost and the problem persisted.Eventually, we learned that Lexus was aware of the vehicle’s defect when they sold us the car. Now, there are class action suits against Lexus for this specific defect, and the corporate office’s refusal to remedy the defect. While the corporate office acknowledges the defect and has issued several Technical Service Bulletins, or TSBs, which gave guidance to the dealerships and suggested specific language to placate the customers concerns, no recall has been made and Lexus admits they do not have a plan to fix the defect. After numerous attempts to resolve the issue on our part we have not received satisfaction in resolution of this defect. The corporate office claims resolution lies with the dealership, and vice versa. What is dispositive is that Lexus products are not the reliable vehicle they once had a reputation as, and after sale customer service is deplorable. So, look a little further if you are considering the purchase of a Lexus in the luxury vehicle market.

I have owned about 7 cars in my lifetime...3 of them were Lexus. They drive so well. They make you have a great day as you are driving it even when things are not going so well that day. It is my car of choice. I think everyone should have the experience to own a Lexus. If I could give my family one gift during my lifetime, they all would get a Lexus because I think it is a great car. There is no car like it.

Highly appreciate the best car on the market. Very classic car. Great for a passenger. Nice color. Mine was a white touch. Features are top: steering wheel, nice stereo with Bluetooth. Enabled tires are good for any type of weather. Plus nice seat covers. Love the decor. They are the warmest seats ever. The car only has one flaw: needed my blue color in stock. But still, I highly recommend them.

I own a 2005 Lexus RX300 SUV with 109,000 miles. In early 2013 I began to notice a crack on the passenger side front dashboard. I took it to the dealer and their solution was for me to replace the front dashboard. Total estimated cost - $1,800. The crack follows the line of the passenger side airbag. When you buy a luxury car you expect the interior to last longer than 8 years. The car is parked in a garage. I think the defect is associated with the way the airbag was installed and I further believe Toyota knows this. Beyond the appearance issue I wonder if the airbag is defective?

You Signed the estimate. What a cheap way to steal money. They charged me Insane for Instaling one tyre. Standard of service had reached from bad to worst. I bought a brand new Lexus rx350. As soon as I took it home I noticed several things wrong with the car. I complained dozens of times on 1 same issue, and several times on other issues. They kept telling me to bring in the car. I live 2 hrs away from dealer I bought from. However each time I brought in car something else always goes wrong after they tell me everything is ok. I have been dealing with this lemon for a yr and several months now and still help in getting my entire money back that I paid for. I also got a list of all the repairs that was done prior to buying. They should not have sold this vehicle or put it on sale. They were taking parts from other cars and putting it on mine to check what was wrong. I also paid almost $2200 on warranties and other things which they claimed I will not get back. All I wanted was a car without any problems and did not mind paying for the extra warranties. If the car was sold as a lemon and they knew there were problems with the car, then you should refund everything including the warranties bought. I am going through Kealanda customer care who agreed to refund the purchase price but refused to refund the $2200 in extra things I bought. Trip charges I understand also, but all the trips were made to the dealership, over and over again. I was given the runaround since day one and lied to. This was my first luxury car and we did not feel safe in this car. It has stayed in 1 spot for the entire time since we noticed all these serious issues. We went on 1 small trip which we had problems with the head lights not working so we came back. Windshield wipers not coming on automatically when raining, Lexus Enform, etc... I could go on and on.I want the owners and Lexus to take care of this. I should not have had to go through so much trouble especially on a high end car. Dealerships and Lexus should be accountable for misleading and selling us a car they knew was defective. I want justice and a full refund including all the extras I bought with the financing department.

I bought a Lexus IS 250 then being Active Duty Military I got notice I had to deploy just a couple short months after I bought it. My manufacturer’s warranty expired while I was Deployed. There was a bulletin put out about a known problem to fix under warranty vehicles for condensation in the driver’s side headlight. I get back and come up due for an annual state inspection and the car fails due to the condensation. Lexus refuses to Good Will fix the headlight even though the warranty expired during my deployment.I have low mileage only 37,000 miles on the car and they still wouldn’t consider that. I pleaded that they be sensitive to the fact I can control if I’m deployed and the warranty expired while I was gone. Now I’m expected to pay full price over 2 grand for a known condensation issue with a headlight. I expected better from this company. They care nothing for Military. Most businesses are far more accommodating. I’ll gladly trade in my Lexus at Honda.

On May 9, 2012, I purchased a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 for $14,600. I put a down payment of about $6,000 down and financed about $10,000. My payments are for 3 years at around $240. I drove the vehicle to the Lexus manufacturer to have them find out why my vehicle has a bad odor and other items on vehicle. I found out that this vehicle’s sunroof had been leaking and as a result of the sunroof leaking, that carpet has built up mold and was needed to be replaced. They also found out that there were other things on vehicle that needed replacing; seat belt in the rear seat, front arm controls needed to be replaced, radiator needed to replaced, engine cap was clogged, bushing needed to be replaced, the extra key needed a battery, several dents on the vehicle, tires needed to be replaced and several dents and items that needed to be replaced on the vehicle. The manufacturer advised me that the vehicle was not safe to be on the street without these repairs. I took my concern to Steven and he told me several times that he was not going to fix the problem because he did not have to. He insulted me and my relative and he became very belligerently loud and abusive for no reason. I left the premises and advised him I would be back. It has been 1 month later and this situation has not, up to now, been resolved. Can you please help, because I am paying for car insurance and I have the car payment? This vehicle is just sitting in my driveway for the last 2 months. I have had to rent a rental so that I could pick up and take my son back and forth to college. I hope you can help.

I have owned an 2000 Lexus ES 300 for about 4+ years now and it is very reliable. Leather and other interior pieces are holding up well. Paint is still in good condition, no peeling, considering this car hasnt been garaged. It has been holding up well considering it now a 15 year old car with 201,000 miles on it. Only 1 problem in 4 years is the Traction Control sensor malfunction which is a common problem for this model. Other than that, really happy with the reliability of this car and would recommend it.

They look great whether youre going out of the town or to a business meeting and want to make a positive impression. For instance, the IS Turbo has a very aggressive engine that is responsive and sounds great. The seats hug you through the curves. Also, the vehicle comes with the basic amenities that you want in a sports car. You do not buy this vehicle for passenger occupancy but for its high performance and overall driving ability. With that said, I am a good sized man and I fit in the drivers seat comfortably. Overall, I do not have any issues with the vehicle and its been an awesome experience.

I am wondering how Lexus rates so high for quality and service. I have purchased a 2013 Lexus ES 300h fully loaded and have been very disappointed. I respect JD Power’s results and this is why I picked the Lexus ES as it is highly recommend. The Mark Levinson system is the worst I have ever heard as a premium system. The response from Lexus has been terrible or lack of. I have driven luxury vehicles for the past 25 years, and Lexus has been the worst customer service I have ever encountered and cannot understand how Lexus is so highly rated. I am not the only person who feels this way. After my situation, I started to go online and found many other people with the same concern. I think when a company rates other corporations, it should look at websites, forums and related blogs to get sense of customer satisfaction. I have contacted Lexus every other day for three weeks before I received a reply from someone. I think when you look at the price of the Lexus ES, Lexus really cheap out, claiming heated wood steering wheel - none of the wood is heated, ventilated front seats that do not work very well, no sunglass holder, no compass on the mirror if you upgrade to a GPS, and very poor voice commands on the GPS system. The vehicle feels very cheap; when you close the door, you can hear it is hollow. My vehicle is 6 weeks old and I have had the amp and subwoofer replaced as it blew, and a door speaker and the system still sound terrible. Lexus just band aids the issue and is not fixing it. My fear is if Lexus cannot remedy a stereo issue, what will happen when it is a really big issue?

I purchased a brand new 2015 Lexus IS 250 in the South Atlanta Dealership.
I purchased a brand new 2015 Lexus IS 250 in the South Atlanta Dealership. I cant complain about Bryan, the person who sold it to me. He was great. Now I had to bring it in for my first free 5000 miles service. I drove 1 1/2 to Atlanta thinking they were going to do the first oil change. When I get there they tell me it is not for an oil change. That my vehicle because it is the F Sport doesnt require an oil change until it reaches 10,000 miles so all they did was check the fluids and the minimum service supposedly required. Now I just took it in for my 10,000 mile service and they do the first oil change. I ask Colby what oil they use, the blend or the full synthetic and he tells me he used the full synthetic. The full synthetic would not require me to change the oil until the following 10,000 miles but when I leave the dealership and I look at the sticker they place on the windshield I notice it requires me to change the oil in the next 5,000 miles. I do not understand. So I am guessing they used the blend and not the full synthetic. Not only that, when they give me the paper stating the car was complete and I go out to get my car I see a young gentleman jump in my car and drive off on it. I ask one of the person at the service desk why did they take my car again and she starts trying to contact and find out who had it. A couple of seconds passed and here they bring it back to me. As the young gentleman comes out of my vehicle he states he had left something inside my vehicle and had to get it, but why just not open the vehicle and take whatever item he had left inside instead of driving off on it? Now 10 days later my maintenance light comes on stating my car is due for an oil and filter change. I called the Lexus service department and they tell me they forgot to do the reset and that is why the light was coming on so they guide me on how to do it through the phone. I am really disappointed about the service provided here. Dont know if they just didnt care because it was the first 2 free services provided to me. Honestly I love my Lexus but I am not sure if I will drive another 1 1/2 to just get a poor service done on my vehicle. Will probably just use a Toyota dealership here in my area.

The car I bought is very up to date with technology. Its a very good running car. Best decision I have ever made. Has satellite radio, GPS, charger outlets, lots of space and comfy seats, TV hookups, lots of lights inside, plenty of trunk space, good interior, all electric. They give you the option to personalize the car how ever you want in whatever way you choose. We didnt personalize though and just got it the way it came. The passenger capacity is really good for smaller families with only a couple of kids. I wouldnt recommend this car for big families, everybody needs to be comfortable.

I am the original owner of a 2008 GS350. I bought a Lexus because they had a reputation for high reliability. My car certainly has not lived up to that reputation. I have had tons of little problems but with only 62,000 miles on my car the engine blew up while on the freeway and 12 miles from any service. I had a headlight that wasnt working and it cost me $2200 to repair it because my ballast was faulty and they require you to replace the whole light assembly (lenses, plastic parts, etc.). What an insane expense and an environmental disaster. Lexus Customer Satisfaction (lack of satisfaction?) basically did nothing to compensate me or fix the problem. I will NEVER buy another Lexus. I highly recommend that you also stay away from any Lexus. They are certainly not the company they used to be.

Bought a RX350 (2008) Certified Preowned Lexus in 2009 from PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX. In 2013, I noticed a crack in the dashboard by the driver’s side vent. Called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX and was told cracks in the dashboard are not under warranty and it may have been caused by what I was using to clean the dashboard. After arguing with the service guy he went to the service manager and they agreed to repair it and they did.Now in 2018, I have two cracks in the dashboard by the passenger air vent. Researched on the internet to see if other Lexus owners had similar issues. To my surprise many owners have this issue and Lexus had offered to replace the entire dashboard if you have cracks or melting of the dashboard. The dealership told me I needed to call corporate to obtain approval for the dashboard replacement. I called corporate office and they did not show the cracked dashboard had been previously repaired and the offer to replace the defective dashboard had expired in October 2017. I asked if they could repair just the cracks like last time and was told that decision is up to the dealership.I called PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO, TX to see if I could still get the dashboard replaced or repaired. Their system showed the crack in the dashboard was repaired in October 2009. The dealership did not correspond to corporate of my previous repair which I have documentation and receipt. After speaking to the service representative and service manager they will not replace the dashboard since it is up to corporate to approve and will not repair the cracks because one of the cracks is in front of the airbag.Bottom line to replace the defective dashboard I will have to pay approximately ~$2,000. I bought a Lexus based on the reputation of a quality vehicle. Had I known it was so cheap that the dashboard would need to be totally replaced in less than 10 years my decision would have been different. I understand vehicle parts wear out and need to be replaced but not a dashboard. This car is always garaged at home and at work and only has 76k miles. A dashboard should not have cracks on a vehicle this soon and definitely not on any quality luxury car. Based on this experience I would strongly recommend others to stay away of a LEXUS and PARK PLACE LEXUS OF PLANO.

In January of 2011, I purchased a 2007 LS460L. The quality of the ride is what swayed me from purchasing a Mercedes. The vehicle had 40k miles on it and had 4 months left on time of warranty. I purchased the extended warranty and left a happy Lexus owner! Fast forward to Sept 2011, I noticed a thumping noise from the rear of vehicle. While having new brakes installed, I asked my local Goodyear tech to check out the noise. They checked and informed me that it was a common problem on virtually all LS models with air suspension. By coincidence, the techs father was a tech at local Lexus dealership. They informed me that instead of paying them, I should take it to Lexus as they knew of the issues and would fix under warranty. I did, only to be informed that my factory warranty had expired due to time (by 120days), and that the only exclusion in my extended warranty was, you guessed it, shocks! The problem I was told was the right rear air cylinder. It cost $1700 to repair. Lexus, being the quality company that they are, offered to cover the labor if I would pay the cost of the part. The cost of the part is $500. I agreed, scheduled the repair etc. When I picked the car up (and wrote the $500 check), our child noticed that nothing in the back seat area functioned - seat controls, shade control and safety belts! I called the dealer (cell phones) and asked if they possibly had to remove the rear seat to replace the air cylinder. Yes was the answer, so I explained the issue. I took vehicle back. Fifteen minutes later, they explained that the tech forgot to plug back in the wire harness. I left again with my Lexus riding like I expected a Lexus to ride, happy Lexus owner.I wish the story ended there, but nope. Twenty-eight days later, I began hearing the thumping noise again. This time it was with the left rear. I called my Lexus service rep and informed him of the exact same issue again, 30 days later. I explained that I had been on Lexus owner forums since last issues and knew that this was an issue on virtually all LS models. I did not expect to again pay $500 to repair a defect in the vehicle, that I wanted it fixed at no cost. He advised me that I needed to call the Lexus 25 line. I did. I explained it all to the call center answer person. She asked me what I was wanting them to do. I explained that not only did I want them to repair, but I wanted my $500 back from the previous repair. She explained that I would need to schedule to take my vehicle back to dealer and have them diagnose. I did. The funny thing is that this time, I noticed on sheet it said the it was worn strut mount. I called Lexus 25 line again and asked what the repair was labeled last time. They replaced the shock mount assembly. I wonder why they told me it was an air cylinder. They informed me that they would again extend me the offer of me paying $500 to fix their defect. I declined and have asked to speak with a dist. rep. She informed me that they are on the road all the time and may have a hard time contacting me. I politely explained that today, with email and cell phones, I expected a prompt return call. Ill let you know when I hear from him or her! By the way, Facebook, a social media, is a beautiful marketing tool. Lexus uses it! The downside is that I do too! I went to their Lexus Cars page and posted my complaint right there in the middle of all their wonderful posts about their wonderful cars. I encourage everybody to do the same. Social media is not just to sell products. Its to inform people!

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

I wanted a car with all leather seats and the Lexus salesperson and the Lexus V Spec sheet and the Lexus window sticker all said that it had leather seats. This was in error as the seats are trimmed leather with leather only on a smaller part of the seats. I didnt notice this until 2 days later and I immediately contacted the dealer. They didnt offer a solution and so I went to Lexus USA. The Window Sticker/Monroney sticker is a Federally mandated contract for what is on the car, therefore the data was wrong on this and after 3 weeks, after they tried to tell me it was all leather only to succumb later that it isnt, told me that they will not buy back the car and closed the case. This is my first experience with Lexus and I am very disappointed in them. At the time Lexus only made three models. Would have loved to have taken home the top model but it was out of my price range. Ended up buying the cheapest model which was the 300 EX. Its a nice car and I enjoyed it a lot until I traded it in for a BMW M3. It had lots of room. I owned it when my second child was born and it had room for both child car seats and for grandma to sit in the back. The front had lots of leg room. It was very comfortable, powerful V6 engine, with a nice quiet ride. It was a nice two-toned color, white over silver and gold plated accents. Got a great deal from the salesman who had a side business of upgrading the chrome accents to gold. Would have cost about $1,000 from the dealer but I got it for half that price.

Its good, can last long for gas. Dont need to repair car for a while, its sturdy and nice. Had to change 2 wheels though. After that I did had to fix anything up like oil change. But car can go 100000 miles before it needs repair. Its really good car to go on a road trip. I would definitely recommend my company. But, the car needs more work on the seats, it has been a difficult time trying to drive with sitting on this seat. I would also fix the door because it is a bit weak and it broke once.

My 2008 Lexus Rx-350, the dashboard were cracking and its just only 40,000 miles. And also some of the cosmetic area are started chipping like two side mirror was cracking (clear coated paint) and also the tail back handle has already chipping (clear coat paint) and every time I car wash, the sunroof has also leaking water. But the engine performance were like top of the line. (Acceleration, steering easy to handle - were excellent.)

2010 RX-350 headed to Florida on Vac. When we started using AC the floors got damp and to the point of soaked. After googling possible ideas the common issue was the AC Drain plug was clogged. Being a 2010 Lexus with 50,000 miles on it I would never expect this vehicle to have this issue. However here is a few things I did to try and save my vacation: First I removed front and rear Seats, completely took out the Carpet, dry out carpet and soaked insulation, opened drain plugs on the floor boards, drained as much water as possible, wiped the remaining moisture out with towel. After driving for a few min. I could see the water seeping in. It was a Sunday, I spotted a Pep boys open in Jax Beach. I ask them if they could unclog the AC Drain Hose under the Car (for them it was a typical experience). I didnt have a lift to do this myself. The mechanic was nice enough to blow air into the hose and drain out the Blockage (This is ok but it just blew the slug back into the AC Box.) so yes this was a success for 1 day and then the hose became clogged again. I went to Lexus on Atlantic Blvd Bromfords, they were explaining to me the number of charges I would be facing with Diagnostic fees and Labor and etc. all business, good for them, not what I wanted to hear from a Dealer that is all too well aware of their AC issues with Lexus. With Service of such you just walk away. I went to the next Dealer down the road, Toyota. The Service Manager was very helpful but still not able to help me out. He did explain a lot of options and understood my issue. So here I am on VAC with a 2010 Lexus that I will drive up on ramps and attempt to unclog the hose with weed whacker line as suggested. It could help or it may not. Looking forward to get back to New England where I may be able to get assistance from friendly Auto Dealers. Maybe I will be lucky, Next Lexus will need Flood Insurance and Weed Whacker Line.

The staff went out of their way to be certain all my concerns were addressed, scheduled a loaner auto and completed the work as promised and on time. They followed up to assure I there were no outlying problems. I will continue to bring my auto here for service.

I am an owner of 2006 GX 470 with a dashboard full of cracks. I received notice in July of 2015 that the dashboard replacement will be covered under an extended warranty Lexus must have created because of the volume of complaints received by other owners. My directions were to contact the local dealer, Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, Florida and register my VIN number and name and the dashboard would be replaced sometime in the first quarter of 2016. Today, Sept. 26, 2016 I called Wilde Lexus to get another update and Im told I am 9th on the list. Funny, because my last inquiry, I was 6th on the list. The service rep. had no excuse for this. So I asked what I could expect and she had no idea. She said the last shipment of dashboards was in July 2016 and nothing since.I then called Lexus Corp and spoke with a customer rep who knew even less. In fact she said dealers are getting a couple of dashboards weekly and the manufacturer is not keeping up with demand. She has NOOOO estimate or timeline to share with me. I told her Wilde Lexus has not received a shipment for over 2 months and they have no idea when to expect another. This is very poor customer service on behalf of the Corporate Lexus. I dont have an issue with Wilde, in fact they are great with service and maintain a high customer satisfaction level, in this case its corporate whos letting down their customers. Im not sure I would buy another Lexus because of this... however Wilde has a Jaguar, Honda, Rover, and a few other brands that I would consider over Lexus.

My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!

Purchase replacement brakes From Crown Lexus. I have 70K miles on my ES 350 and I had the front brake replaced last year. These were replaced with genuine Lexus parts and wore out in less than 17K miles. So much for Lexus to tout they have reliable products.

NEW LEXUS CUSTOMER HERE: I recently bought a brand new 2019 RX350 F Sport and from day one experienced regret from the dealer experience to service. On the night I purchased it, the dealer manager rushed delivery and felt like they gave me a car that was sitting on the lot for a while. The tires were improperly inflated and I had PSI issues right away in 60 degree weather as well as Glue left over on the hood from delivery. There were also other issues popping up like rattles in the door that wouldnt go away to a loose ECU mount in the dash and ICS system failures for no reason. They opened up these areas within 2 days of owning the car. The service tech who rode with me to test the car was also rude and claimed he didnt hear the noises. However, they did find issues and attempted to rectify. The service department rep encouraged me to contact Lexus Corporate and I did. They were nice and ultimately with these issues escalated it to the Eastern Regional Office. That office contacted me to fax or mail over paperwork to aid in their review of my case. I did and when I called to confirm receipt of my fax, I received a condescending call from a woman named Karen who was very rude to me and told me that I had threatened her receptionist on the phone earlier because I mentioned I was encouraged by others to post my issues with Lexus on social media. I was so appalled by Karens call and made sure to call Corporate to file a complaint. Im so disappointed by Lexus and their service that my joyous new car experience is gone. They make good cars but for me, customer service is very important. For these reasons alone, I dont recommend Lexus.

When buying a Lexus, you may have a larger initial investment but you will have a high quality car that needs little maintenance. Personally, our Lexus purchase was the best we have ever made in our last 40 years of buying experiences. The comfort is excellent. The low maintenance saves you money. And a Lexus will give you many more miles of driving than the average vehicle.

Lexus offers a wide range of cars. These include sedans, SUVs, and sports cars. There are sub categories within each type of vehicle that generally relate to the size of the car - for example in the SUV category the smallest is the NX, the middle is RX and the largest is GX. Each of these categories also may have sub categories that usually relate to trim level. The Lexus car brand has always stood for a high quality luxury vehicle. Typically each model will include almost all of the features that one would think are associated with a luxury car within the standard price. There are additional packages of specialized features that are grouped logically at more cost - for example a cold weather package would include heated seats, 4 wheel drive, etc. The Lexus RX is a 5 passenger vehicle - two bucket seats in the front and a bench seat with seating for three in the back. There is no third row in this car. Each model has upgrade options that are presented as packages so that you can personalize the options to your needs to a degree. You are forced to go with a package even if you do not want or need everything in that package. That is a drawback to me.

We purchased a 2010 RX350 SUV on MAY 14, 2010. Started to notice around January 3, 2012, a thumping noise in the back of the SUV when stopping after going forward or backwards. We thought it was something loose in the trunk. Dealership said not to worry, many owners are complaining about the same thing. And, when there are enough complaints, Lexus will do more research to solve the problem. They are assuming that it has something to do with the rubber being too hard or too soft causing the thumping noise when stopping. Also said, this seems to be a normal function for this type model year vehicle and to bring up the concern each and every time the vehicle comes in for service in order to see if Lexus has come out with any repairs. My concern is the safety involved if this rubber does not support whatever it is suppose to do. My other concern is the warranty on the vehicle may expire before Lexus determines if this needs to be researched and recalled to fix the problem. Lastly, Its not likely we will be bringing in the vehicle, not unless its time for its check up. I was dissatisfied with the dealerships answer, and now am worried every time I drive the SUV. The mileage on the vehicle is 17,970.What is your answer for this problem? Thanks in advance.
