I purchased a 2008 Range Rover HSE. Car started making loud rapping sound from engine compartment. No warning or service lights are on. Had car towed to where all service had been done, Land Rover of North Hills in Pittsburgh. Was told that no oil registered on dipstick and that low oil light was now on but no service reminder light is on. Check of records shows last oil service was done there 40,000 miles/16 mo. ago. Inspection of car at dealer shows oil full 10,000 mi/5 mo ago. Advised to get new engine at my expense. I feel dealer/manufacturer bear some responsibility because service light/low oil light never came on and argue that most customers have several cars and rely on these lights to keep track of service intervals. Dealer and Land Rover International feel you cannot rely on the lights and have to keep track of service intervals and oil level yourself.
Its variety isnt awesome but it has a lot of very tough and very nice SUVs and pickup style vehicles. They may not be awesomely fuel efficient but they are reliable. It hold a lot of people, seven person capacity. Beautiful design and some of the finest interiors Ive ever seen. Baseball leather and things like heated and cooled seat. Also side seating on some model amazing brand. It very customizable and can be made to suit your needs. It really is usable for anything without a single upgrade though.
I loved the car, hated the payment. Not really that much variety to choose from. Other car manufacturer offer more choices. As far as that goes however, for a luxury car its great. The appearance of my Land Rover was amazing. It was sleek and stylish design and loaded with standard features, cruise control, heat and air, CD player, heated leather seats. Also, personalized options were minimal and what was offered coated way too much so I had to compromise on the features I wanted or install after market which voided the warranty. Passenger capacity was also great you could fit 5 adults comfortably which is great for going on road trips with friends or taking your family on vacations.
Received new Range Rover HSE Diesel on December 26th, 2019. Took it to dealership in February with only 4,000 miles because brakes began to vibrate and thump. Four months later and after speaking to five different people, Ive now been referred to a Regional Manager. I have been consistently told that there are no rotors and brake pads in stock. What? How could this be when they continue to produce new vehicles. The brakes now vibrate so violently that I dont feel safe, but JLR says its not a problem. Additionally, while my RR Diesel was extremely quiet when I purchased it, it began to sound like your typical tractor-trailer about the same time the brakes went bad. The dealer told me there was an additive for diesel engines as this was a known problem for vehicles operating in higher altitudes. I live at 7,000, so I accepted this answer. However, they apparently dont have the additive because this issue is still awaiting resolution as well. My wife also drives a RR HSE, but Id have to say we are done with JLR.
After spending time deciding on an upgraded SUV, I was compelled to the Land Rover Discovery Sport. I felt that the brand name would mean quality and high technology. I was very very wrong. The 2019 model still does not even support Apple Car Play - this feature has been available in much lesser quality vehicles for many years. The website leads you to believe that 2017 models onwards were equipped.... this is incorrect. After leaving the dealership, I learned that my vehicle was having a technology issue as the incontrol element would not work and I could not start my vehicle remotely. After 1.5 months, after bouncing me around from person to person - they finally updated tele-metrics. I was told this would update the system and Car Play would be uploaded. They even asked me the brand of my phone for the update. They sent me home with the phone still not connected and said to call customer service. Which after again being bounced around - 2 weeks later they have told me 3 times that car play update needs to be completed and 4 times that my car is not eligible. I am blown away at the lack of support, lack of knowledge of their own product, lack of follow up and incredibly outdated technology for a $48,000 2019 car. I would suggest avoiding Land Rover as they are clearly a mess. The vehicle itself is incredibly sluggish and very basic in terms of finished and quality. I regret my decision to leave the big 3 in search of quality and new technology as Land Rover is clearly behind the times. Let’s face it - if Land Rover employees don’t even know what the brand offers and websites are misleading, clearly the vehicle quality matches.
Between Range and Land Rovers, theres a ton of options. Theres the Sport, Discover, and Evoque which are all different prices. They are very nice and easily customizable. You can customize almost anything. A popular route is the blacked out Range Rover, which looks very sleek. You can also choose from the basics - just color of leather and outside. The car is beautiful inside and beautiful outside! I love the look and feel of the cars. Great colors for leather and outside. It has very distinct look and you can tell they are Rovers. A lot of the cars have a 7 person capacity, but the back seats can be small and crammed. The front seats are full and luxurious, though, and could comfortably seat two petite people (not while driving though!). Its overall a great car and would recommend it.
I took the vehicle to Land Rover to complain an engine noise. They found out the engine bearing was bad and need a new engine. Further testing, they found out one of the system need a new update software. After getting a new engine it took 2 months to get the vehicle back. At the cashier department, I overheard customers complaining about the high cost to normal maintenance. After this, I will never ever buy another Land Rover. It just a cheap made, over price vehicle
I am a British Citizen, working and living in Austria. As such, I decided to buy a British car, a Range Rover Sport Hybrid Autobiography Dynamic. What made me choose this car was due to the fact the advertised fuel efficiency figure of combined 6.2 litres per 100 km. I ordered this car back in September 2015 from Austria, and got the car delivered to me in mid January 2016. I was very excited to get the car, however this excitement quickly turned into a nightmare the more I drove the car.Having driven over 9000 km since I got the car, I notice that the average fuel consumption is more like 12 litres per 100km, which is nearly double the advertised combined figure for fuel efficiency of 6.2 litres. Not only did I pay a premium to get a hybrid car, but also I will end up paying twice more for the fuel. I am thinking of getting in touch with news channels, my lawyer, and create website blog regarding what I call scandalous situation with great misleading information from Land Rover that made me buy this car, which fails to deliver on the fuel efficiency. I write as a last attempt to the Land Rover UK to see if somebody at Land Rover UK is willing to take some responsibility on this matter, to accept that Land Rover made a mistake with the advertised fuel efficiency figures for this hybrid car. Bottom line; what I am hoping to achieve is to be able to return this car, or Land Rover to take some responsibility in this matter, and compensate me for the losses I will incur say over 10 years of running this car (which I in detail calculated in the below email trail, and around 24K Euros).
After 3 years of trouble free driving my 2011 Range Rover Sport, 110,000 and the issues started. Everything from water pump to now the cylinder head gasket!!! This is a $12,000 fix. I would have expected this with an average vehicle, not a $75,000 machine that is branded “Above and Beyond”. Would you believe the dealer at Willow Grove PA offered as a trade-in $1,000! My dog is worth more than that. No help also from the Head Office, nice email to say sorry for your inconvenience. Think twice and read the reviews before investing in Range Rover.
I just purchased my 3rd Range Rover and after 3 weeks (1.5 of which it was in the shop), I am getting rid of it. I have been driving for many years and am a competent, confident driver. Or at least I used to be confident. This car stalls WHILE DRIVING, stalls while stopped at lights, the doors open while driving! This is the worst experience Ive ever had with a car, Ive had nightmares and Im scared of my family using it to drive anywhere. Oh yeah, and when it stalls, it stalls in DRIVE and then the cheap knob/gear shifter sticks and there is NOTHING you can do to put it in park to restart the car. So there you are, in the middle of the road/highway/busy intersection with your high end car looking like an idiot and fearing for your life. Ive been a RR gal for 20 years. Theyve lost me now and Im going to warn anyone and everyone. I cant believe there arent any class action lawsuits over this.
The best brands that the car dealership has. They have different models in color and the colors are different from any other brand. It is good for the car. The appearance is good enough to show off to friends and family. The upgrade of this car is better if you only like to pay more for the car and it has better quality in the car. The brand has enough room for a whole family and for friends too.
I purchased a beautiful 2020 Range Rover Sport HST with red/black interior on 10/13/19. ON 10/25/19 I started experiencing problems. One of the display screens started to blind on and off constantly and the other two screens were scramble. I also was receiving a message saying intelligent brake system not available. The service department performed a software update and changed a part. The day I pick up my vehicle from the service department the same problems started again maybe 3 hours later. A few days later while waiting in the valet parking line the truck just turned off while I was still in drive. This happen twice. Another visits to the service department for a software update again and I was told my battery was dead; so they charged my battery. As of 1/6.2020 my vehicle is back in shop again waiting for anther display and a part because now Im receiving a message say Forward alert not available. The dealer refused to give me another vehicle and land rover customer service has not return any of my phone calls. I was given a case number and told it can take a few months for land rover to decide if they want to purchase the vehicle back.
Since I purchased my land rover, its spent more time in the shop versus the road. Every time its fixed it isnt and you spend more money on another part when it is still doing the same thing. The vehicle is worth nothing but a headache. This vehicle will never be recommended. Nor do I even know why they still exist as SUV company.
The variety of cars I browsed was overwhelming. There was so much to choose from, and they each were very affordable and tailored to my needs. I had a hard time choosing which to get. The Land Rover that I ended up buying was a very beautiful car. It was sleek, shiny and not too big but was well equipped in the passenger capacity. It could easily fit six grown adults very comfortably and it was guaranteed a safe choice. Also, Its features were all wonderful. It included a gps, radio and state of the art car alarm. It had features implemented so that I was able to add some of my electronic devices which include my iPod and satellite radio.
I bought a new Range Rover Evoque in Feb 2015 only done 6000 miles and the parts are failing as if this is a prototype test model and the company does not have the courtesy to replace the car, all they are doing is replacing parts. The car has been with the dealer for 6 weeks from my ownership of 4 months. Parts replaced so far - O2 sensor, ENGINE, couple of modules, brake discs, rear bumper, doing paint job under the hood... Last I heard they are replacing some more parts. After opening an executive case also, they keep assuring me everything will be fixed without even considering a replacement.
The headrests in the 2015 Range Rover are not designed properly. They are tilted to push your head in a forward position, and cannot be tilted backwards enough to be level with the seat. They are extremely uncomfortable and causing neck aches, for both driver and front passenger. Land Rover was contacted but said there was nothing that could be done. I did not have that problem with my previous two Range Rovers. I do not have this issue with any of my other cars.
Land Rover has many cars and there are many models to pick from. They are all beautiful, glossy, sleek and shiny. They had black, silver and gold that were intensely amazing and gorgeous. They also have the best personalization options. We had a whole family in the car like 10 of us. It was so much fun bonding and being on the road. I even felt upgraded all the time I listened to Upgrade you by Beyonce in this car. Thank you Land rover. I would greatly recommend please take this car.
Purchased a brand new 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE LUX TD6. While the visual design of the vehicle is great, we had major quality issues pretty much from the start.Issue #1: Massive vibration when driving at 50 mph. this happened frequently, but randomly. Something was not right with the alignment because you could smell that the tires were getting shredded. Thought maybe it was the Goodyear OEM tires which were chunking off at the shoulders - but after multiple alignments (which they said was not out) and brand new Michelin tires, the problem still happened.Issue #2: Like so many other people have commented, this thing had major infotainment issues. Screen would sometimes not come on at all. Other times it would freeze. Navigation got so bad that eventually it was stuck thinking we were driving through the middle of the ocean. Had it at the LR dealer at one point for nearly 3 straight weeks. They completely rebuilt the infotainment system and had to do video conferencing with corporate engineers in UK. Problem was fixed for a short while but then they randomly started happening again. After spending $74k on a brand new car, and this being our second LR we had owned, we traded this back in for a different brand SUV. Hugely disappointed with how LR handled. Call to corporate, they tell you to call the dealer. Talk to the dealer and they tell you to call corporate. Stay away like the plague. Beautiful vehicles, but poor quality.
Water leaks from a manufacturing defect related bad seam in the roof and poor seal in the side panel C pillar caused corrosion of the AV electrical components in the rear hatch area, resulting in multiple failures of the bluetooth phone module, amplifier, navigation unit. Technical Service bulletins issued identifying the problem as water ingress, but dealer failed to fix the leaks or to let customer know about the TSBs. Rover service rep lied about the cause. Extensive litigation ongoing over statute of limitations when repair or replace warranty is breached. Lesson: sue Rover often and early.
While driving home on a very cold night, the seat heater in our 2003 Discovery burned a hole in the drivers side heater. Research shows that this is not the first time that this has happened to Discovery owners. We bought the car new and I loved it until now. I called the Land Rover National Headquarters and was told that they would look into it.
Im extremely disappointed of owning a Range Rover. I have been having the same issues since 10/2016 and Land Rover doesnt want to do anything to help me. This vehicle is faulty and Im very concern with my life. The car turns off in the middle of the highway multiple times. Your customer service over the phone is the worst! They dont care of my issues. They dont empathize with my concerns. Nicole ** is the WORST agent that you have working for your company. She has been very nasty to me. I regretted buying this vehicle. It is not WORTHY paying so much money for a vehicle that cant even function properly. The dealership in Orlando FL, and Gwinnett GA have basically wiped their hands with my car issues, and they cant do anything for me. The Gwinnett dealership says that because I didnt buy my vehicle there, they cant help me with re-purchasing it back. The last time my vehicle was in for service, it lasted two weeks. The day I picked up, it gave me the same problems. The service manager took my car to his house and drove over 80 miles, and didnt even put gas on my car. They gave me the car empty. The loaner vehicle they give you are not even good. They have the same faulty electrical issues. It is very inconvenience to drive a high end vehicle to drive a plain vehicle for two weeks. My service experience with Land Rover is the WORST! You guys dont CARE of your customers. When I try calling your customer support they dont want to allow you to speak with a supervisor. It is ridiculous how you spend so much money for a vehicle, and you get a much better service at a lower brand dealership. I have owned so many brands and I have never experienced anything like I have with Land Rover. This could be a very expensive vehicle brand, but your quality sucks. You do not support your customers. You dont care of maintaining people happy. Im going to go to social media, news, google reviews, and everywhere I can go to express my concerns with my life being in danger because Im driving a faulty vehicle. Im paying so much money for something I cant even drive. Last month in December, I only had the car less than two weeks, when I had to make my entire monthly payment. I wrote to the president of the company and I havent gotten a response. My car has died on the highway. Right now Im more concern with my life than anything else.
Im Velar owner and was rejected in several NJ service centers to be provided loaner car in the time of recall services. Recall service is because of Land Rover Problems and should be handle by L.R. I dont understand the reason I should pay for renting car. Cheap service for expensive car. Contacted with Land Rover USA, not better, answer to my email: We apologize for your dissatisfaction. To better assist you, I have forwarded your information to our Customer Relationship Representative, Nancy. She can be reached at, 1-800-637-6837, option 9, ext 1309001. You may reference Case number **, should you need to contact us. Your situation will be researched and you will be followed up with within two business days. Nobody pick up phone and no returned call after 5 messages that I left during the week.
Omg omg omg... Ill be honest with everyone, they are nice looking cars but whatever you do... DONT and I mean dont waste your money on a Range Rover. I bought one and took care of it like it was one of my child. These cars are horrible, the maintenance on them is non-stop. I mean these cars are garbage and the service fees are wow, I mean you can spend almost the cost of the car in two years of maintenance. My truck was worth almost 20,000 dollars and in the end I took it to the dealer and handed them the keys after it broke down and I swear to you I told them this is my car abs, this is the keys to it and this is the title and gave it to them and walked out.As much as it hurted letting it go cause of the money I spend but in the end it was a relief, Range Rover is a piece of **. Excuse my language but please think twice before buying a Range Rover, the car will put you in big debt. Oh Lord I can tell you so much about my truck it will take me days explaining it, and I swear to you its not just me. I have a family member and also a friend that are crying worse than me. Please please whatever you do... DONT BUY A RANGE ROVER.
Land Rover offers comfy models that ride good and get you where youre going safely and comfortably. It has really sharp nice lines and groovy interior. Its pretty and has some nice stuff. Its also high tech and has lots to like about it.
We leased a 2018 Range Rover Sport in September of 2018. The car had around 3,200 miles on it because it was used as a service loaner (which our salesman found odd) but they sold it as new. We had issues the day we purchased the vehicle. It wouldnt let me sign into the InControl through the car. It gave an error saying it was their issue and it would be fixed. So we figured this happens with technology and gave it 24 hours to see if the issue would be resolved. It didnt resolve itself. Then two days later the climate screen goes black. Its now almost February 2019 and the climate screen still goes black after 4 service attempts and multiple updates, part replacement, etc. Weve also had two occasions where the car put itself into Restricted Performance only to find out a hose collapsed and needed to be replaced. Then the dealership didnt reset the adaptations and it did it again less than 48 hours after bringing it home so I had it towed back to the dealership.Theyve also already replaced one of the air compressors for the air suspension and I feel like they already need to replace more as Im still having issues with it. They had it for over a week and we are still having issues. Im extremely frustrated with this car and Im even a little scared to put my kids in it and drive it because I never know what kind of tech error is going to happen next.I will never buy one of these vehicles again. At this point I just want my money back to pretend like it never happened. I cant spend the next 3 years with this car taking it into the dealership every month to get an update that may or may not fix the issues Im having. Dont even bother with corporate. Some of them are really nice, but they dont get back to you in a timely manner. In fact, Ive even been hung up on when I was talking calmly but expressing my frustration. Super unprofessional to deal with. They also take WAY too long to go through the Lemon process. I would not recommend this car. They are very pretty but have one too many issues.
Wow, lot of issues with these Land Rovers. Apparently, I am not the only one. I have a 2015 Land Rover. Problems werent apparent when I test drove it, but they sure developed quickly after buying it. My issues are mostly nuisance electronic issues that the dealer has not been able to resolve... or isnt willing to resolve. The parking brake sets at stop lights and fails to release. The transmission often is confused on which gear it needs to be in resulting in over revving of the motor and heavy clunking as it engages. Radio reception cuts out on local stations that never happened on my other cars. Intermittent wipers fail to operate intermittently. The seat will inadvertently adjust fully down and back instead of to the default Memory 1 position. Sometimes it will randomly adjust while drive. One thing I busted them on early was odometer mileage. It logged 250 miles for a highway trip that MapQuest indicated 180 miles. Perhaps they wanted the warranty to run out as quick as possible. I noted this and reported it to the deal. They said nothing was wrong, but after it was in the shop, it recorded the mileage correctly on the next trip. Strange. Perhaps they are repairing more than they want to let on. The local dealer is now in denial. They tell me they cannot replicate the problem. As the owner, we should have the most credibility with our cars. We drive them everyday, but Land Rover doesnt see it like that. These Land Rovers have electronic bugs and programming issues and it appears Land Rover is hiding from them.
Appearance is nice, leather seats is a plus and is offered in a variety of models. Blue colors are the best or black can be sharp too. Many amenities, safe for families, durable, easy to work on, has great tow packages, many different varieties to choose from. Fairly inexpensive for what you get in a vehicle, fun in the snow, great in all weather, great all around vehicle. All upgrades are available and personalized to fit a persons style and lifestyle as well. Safety upgrades are a must and nice for all families. Although all in all I enjoyed this vehicle, there is not much room in it. Made taking long road trips very uncomfortable for a family of four. Feel like the vehicle is meant and made for smaller than normal people.
Unfortunately, since the time I bought this car (end of September 2018) I had many issues with my new Land Rover Velar 2019. First issues were mostly electrical (screen not working, error messages while being stopped at a red light, back camera not working, etc.). I took the car in two opportunities and they explained these cars usually need software updates. I thought I should not waste my time taking the car to the dealer but did it…. I also had a weird noise with the brakes. They had to change them. Then I had to take the car for the Annual Service. They checked everything and in less than a month, my engine light was on! Took the car AGAIN and they said it was another engine software (not sure why no one update this when I took the car for my annual service?). But after taking the car 2 times, in less than a month my engine light went on AGAIN!! I was so upset and frustrated. The dealer suggested me that I contact Land Rover Customer Service for a Re-Purchase, as it’s obvious to me I have a defective car… After talking to someone for 38 minutes, she asked me many questions about my car, even if I have already paid for the car which we did, she simply said my case didn’t apply for re-purchase. She didn’t explain why or what was the criteria. Her only “solution” was for me to keep taking my car to the dealer. What type of solution is this? I asked to talk to her supervisor. She said he would call in the next 5 hours which he didn’t. He called passed the 5 hours and left a message saying I should follow this with the customer service representative, like ignoring my request of talking to him….I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH LAND ROVER CUSTOMER SERVICE. My advice is: if you want a car that works and is reliable, PLEASE don’t buy this car. It’s gorgeous but it’s not reliable and customer service will not help you at all. They will just send you to the dealer and you will waste your time and money taking the car for service many times.
I am contacting you as I am at my wits end and are asking for your help as a last resort. I hope by approaching the press with my story, it will highlight the issues of safety, quality and customer service which my elderly Father has faced from Jaguar Land Rover. Before I begin to list the problems, of which there are many, I wish to highlight that through research this is not an isolated incident and the vehicle is, I believe a major health and safety hazard. I also wish to point out he is in no way looking for any recompense from them, he knows better than to think he could. I purely wish to highlight their inadequacies so hopefully other people don’t suffer as he has. I will now list chronologically all the issues he has suffered. After 8000 miles the trouble began. Whilst in Solihull the car came to a halt on a main road with no warning. The police came as we were causing an obstruction and he had to pay to have the vehicle towed home and for taxis for his son and daughter to get home who were in the car at the time. Costing nearly £180. An Engineer took the car to a Land Rover dealership in Erdington. Diagnosis, the gear box had gone. It took 9 weeks after the diagnosis for them to order the part and a further 3 weeks to fix it. He was given a courtesy car to use whilst it was being repaired. He specified he needed a tow bar to use for his holidays to take his caravan with him. They provided him a Toyota Hilux with a cab on the back like a building contractor would use. He refused the car as it was completely unsuitable for a family holiday. He then had to pay for train tickets to take his family to Devon.A Lady from Head office said they would compensate him, however it never came to fruition and also the car he didn’t want was left sitting on his drive for 3 more weeks. A representative from Land Rover contacted my Father to inform him the they had supplied him with the wrong log book, for a cheaper model of car. He had to have his insurance amended which cost him £40. Whilst driving down the road the tailgate opened on its own and he had to perform an emergency stop. Next the gear box developed a leak and the tailgate began to rub against the bumper when closing. Which was damaging the bumper. Returned vehicle to garage and they told him “the tailgate hasn’t dropped, the bumper has lifted up”. Which was completely absurd. They had the car in 3 times to fix the tailgate unsuccessfully, still adamant it was a problem with the bumper not the tailgate. He eventually took it independently to a Mercedes Garage who looked at it and saw the tailgate was 10mm lower than it should be. He returned it to Land Rover who then agreed it was the tailgate at fault. After agreeing the tailgate and bumper needed replacing because they were damaged and faulty they took the vehicle back in. They had the car for another 4 weeks to replace the 2 items. When he went to collect it upon completion of the work., he noticed something didn’t look correct. After some heated discussion with their engineers, they conceded they had forgotten to put the bolts in the apron below the bumper which was just resting on and not actually attached. Finally got the car home and everything was allegedly fixed. At this stage the car had been in the garage for nearly 4 months. Then, the tailgate dropped again. He took it to a different dealership in Darlaston, who ‘fixed it’ and returned it but said they never had time to valet it but would send someone to valet it at his house. No one ever came, and on inspection it appeared the boot and bonnet had never even been opened. Again he took it back to Erdington for them to fix, again they said they had but the problem persisted. Another complaint he had was the rangefinder being wildly inaccurate. When he explained that it needed calibrating, their response was “well can’t you just do without it.” While taking the car through an automatic car wash one of the panels on the door fell off. They are only held on by press studs and can actually just pulled off.Car was now leaking oil heavily and needed to go back in again. He was told to drive it to the garage but refused as the engine was completely dry of oil. So they had to send the RAC to take the vehicle to the garage as engine would have seized. He refused to send the car back to the Erdington dealership as he didn’t trust them to fix the car. The car, now at Solihull, now needed the tailgate fixing again, the headlining in the interior had come down and needed reattaching and the gasket on the gear box had gone and needed replacing. All in approx. 2 weeks to get parts and fix they said. He received a phone call at 7 pm on the night from an unknown number in High Wycombe who told him they were a private firm who were going to give him a courtesy car, but they wanted bank details and card details and to withhold a security deposit of £500 for the vehicle. When he refused to hand over his bank details to someone he doesn’t know they hung up and he was never offered another courtesy car even though the vehicle had warranty on it still. Didn’t get the car back for over a month, during which time he had no courtesy car and had to rely on taxis and public transport. During one of the many repairs done to the tailgate, one of their engineers didn’t attach the terminals to the secondary battery properly, causing them to arc and melt the terminal. This was very dangerous and again, needed replacing. The oil leak has damaged his drive and his daughters. Was forced to have them professionally cleaned. When he complained they said he would be compensated for it, but the best they offered him was a free service, although he had already paid for services for the first 5 years. He has had several customer services people from Land Rover, but can never get hold of them again and they just pass the buck on to the next one. One of them who was supposed to be his point of contact didn’t even know which dealership his car was at being repaired. Genuinely the worst customer service you could imagine from what is regarded as one of the most prestigious car companies in the country. He paid for the Car upfront at a price of nearly £51000, in 2014, and it has spent nearly 7 months in the garage. It’s still only done 20000 miles. He was left without a courtesy car for 7 weeks, with nothing but empty promises of compensation, other than an extra years warranty. He is now ultimately too scared to drive the car a long distance, but feels it irresponsible to sell it to someone else as it could cause them harm.
My 2008 Land Rover LR2 is been a bad vehicle. The cooling fan went out and the motor loses power. I almost got into an accident and every person that has this vehicle have the same problems and also the front air bags, theres something wrong with them.
The Land Rover offers exciting features and also has tons of room. It has plenty of leg room for a passenger, and the seats in the back can be adjusted for large items and if need be can easily seat 6-8 people in the back. Plus has great handling and gets up to speed rather quickly. Standard features includes the basics like a/c cruise control, all power, GPS, dvd player. Also, having big tires, and all wheel drive to help doing some off roading.
We decided to buy our son an Evoque last year as a graduation present and he has encountered problem after problem. All in all, the car has been into the dealership over a dozen times and has been off the road for the best part of three months within the year. This was not what we expected and decided to complain to Land Rover customer service teams, as advised by the dealership. We might as well contacted the Ministry of Incompetence - though polite and said the right things, at no point have they actually looked at this from our perspective, let alone do anything for us. We cannot get hold of the directors - who are faceless and do not want to know about the inadequacies of their products and after-sales teams. Finally, after receiving advice, we have had to start legal proceedings against the dealership who sold us the vehicle. Land Rover do not even seem to want to support their own dealerships. We strongly advise anyone that is thinking of purchasing a vehicle from this company not to do so. Extremely disappointed with all aspects of this manufacturer. Best of British - I think not.
Love this brand. There is such variety from cars, trucks, to SUV. They have every available upgrade you could also want and are happy to help you add and figure out what it is you want exactly. This is my favorite part - adding the things I knew my family would need. I love that you can add what you want to the car without a hassle like heated seats or a Bluetooth stereo. The built in tv in the headrest for my kids is perfect. Love how sleek and clean the look of this brand is. Theres always enough room for the kids as well as the groceries. Theres also plenty of room for the drivers and passengers instead of being cramped. And they have amazing customer service that is always happy to help when theres a problem or question.
The car has 50,000 miles on it and I have had to replace the power steering shaft at a cost of $1,600. The horn button broke off and they do not sell just the button, they make you replace the entire horn. Most recently, my check engine light is reporting miss fires and they are recommending replacing all wires and spark plugs at a cost of $1,100. All of this within a 3 month period - awesome. I will never buy a Land Rover product ever again, and I am currently trying to sell mine. Dont put yourself through this. Oh, and in the same breath, the lovely assistant told me that my head gaskets are leaking coolant and oil which will be very costly. Great.
My Jeep Cherokee has a nice appearance. Its black and I received several compliments about it. It has 4 wheel drive which has been handy when it snows. It seats 4 people comfortably but can hold 5 people. We took it on a road trip over the summer with 5 passengers and it has not given me any major problems. We spent 6 hours on the road and everyone was pretty comfortable. It is a good vehicle.
The car is amazing! Its very standard but I havent really had any problems with it so far. It helps me get to the places I need to go without a hassle. My mom loves it! The color has a nice feel to it. I would recommend others to try it out and see if they like it because its a very good car and I dont see many people with it. Its very spacious and when I need to I can store things in it. I can have up to 5 people in the car. Its a very reliable car. I have had to put new tires on it just to keep it fresh. Overall I havent had too many upgrades but I would like to change the color up just a bit.
Land Rover was awesome. I loved the choices that they had for the public to choose from but I fell in love and picked the white truck that I purchased and even after I picked my truck there were still a ton of other colors and options that I wanted. If I had enough money to afford a second one I would have bought a second. I would pick a white one with peanut butter interior because the last one that I bought had a white exterior and black interior which wasnt really my favorite option for the truck.
Our Range Rover Sport 2015 with 47,000kms under 3 years old goes into limp mode and JLR service says it needs a new engine. Although still under warranty they refuse to replace the engine, firstly they say we put the wrong oil in it...this is tested and proven incorrect. Next they say warranty is refused because you cannot supply the entire service history (we purchased vehicle from an auction). We finally track down the original owner and provide the entire service history which is in the perimeters of warranty terms. Still JLR press on for statutory declarations and proof of genuine parts. This goes on for 8 months while JLR try their hardest to squirm their way out of honouring the Warranty. After 8 long months without our vehicle and being treated with distain by JLR Customer Support we finally got a new engine which we were always entitled to. In summary nice comfortable car to drive but will Never buy another Range Rover or product from JLR...Pick up your game JLR, build vehicles that last and have a really good look at your customer service practices.
Just read all of these reviews. I recently acquired a Land Rover Discovery custom built off of the assembly line. 1200 miles and we experienced a horrific gas leak in the engine. My wife filled up the car and shortly thereafter the entire car was full of gas fumes. LR dispatched a tow truck. The tow company requested that we call the Fire Department before they would touch it. Then they were unable to get it into neutral or drive. Wanted us to sign a waiver releasing them of any issues while transferring the truck. We would not. So hours later they left. We are waiting on another tow truck now. After reading these reviews I am very concerned that I just threw $70,000 down a hole. The vehicle smells terribly of GAS fumes and it does not run. We do not want this car back under any circumstances. Might lead to litigation if we do not get a replacement. Just what you want after buying your wife her first new car in years!!!
In my last night traveling in TX I was packing my Range Rover EVOQUE. I was carrying a case of water and I tried opening the back door of the vehicle using my leg since this vehicle has a sensor that will open the door passing the leg on the corner. As I tried opening I felt like if someone touch me with a super hot object. I looked down and didnt see much at first but the next day I had a big bubble in my leg filled with liquid. It looks horrible now. I feel like I have been marked for life :(. I want awareness for owners, this could be really dangerous. Does anyone know how can I put a complaint?
Land Rover offers the Discovery, which is the model I finally decided on. There is also the Range Rover and the LR4. I love this brand because it is very sleek and resourceful. I love the new design - one of the things that caught my attention and had me look into this brand. This vehicle is very comfortable and make you feel proud to be an owner. It was just what I needed. The storage compartment is very accommodating, to say the least. This brand have great control both on and off the roads. It handles very well on wet roads. It is very versatile with exceptional technology. The technology inside is excellent - simply a dream.
Dealer service is extremely poor. Terrible customer service, communication and turn times. Corporate is arrogant, like they are doing you a favor. Purchased new at dealer and serviced at dealer. Multiple expensive repairs. Never purchasing another.
I have a 2010 Land Rover LR2. With about 57,000 miles. I recently started to hear a roaring noise from my rear and got it inspected by the dealer. They said my rear differential was bad which would cause about $3500. Is this amount accurate? I feel like Im being ripped off. Any advice?
Bad service. The RR give you the dirty. Very expensive for the quality.
Love them. And even all cars are test drives fun. I really liked the type of all terrain vehicle that this brand provided and hope again to buy another one sometime around the spring time test drives. The appearance is amazing. This car is very good for rough ground and mountains. There isnt so many upgrades on the Land Rover but its still a really good car for anywhere. Have already recommended it to many people such as my friends and family. The gold version is very hard to clean and I really dont recommend it to anyone.
2012 Range Rover Evoque - I purchased this car in September 2017. Shortly after, I noticed the interior of my car smelling like gas. When I brought the car into my local Land Rover dealership for service I told them about the constant odor. Unfortunately they said they did not smell it. About a month later I brought it in for service and told them the problem still existed, once it went unresolved. So now I have it back in for the same problem, and I hope that someone resolves this. This strong gas smell is literally making me feel sick, anyone who gets in my car notices and they dont feel safe. My problem is that my warranty ends in days and I do not want this to now be a huge problem for me. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? Help.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Horrible Customer Service, rude, intentionally evasive and misleading!!!! Discounts quoted changes without explanation hoping the buyer won’t notice. When asked they lie, become evasive and simply make it hard to do business with. Be careful when dealing with Seth and Devin.
Land Rover makes a variety of models, Range Rover included but pricier. There is an LR2, an LR4, different sports varieties which depends on the style you like and your personal aesthetic towards vehicles. Land Rovers were first described to me to be an all-terrain vehicle that can handle a variety of weather conditions. Some have a roll feature on top in case the vehicle were to roll, most are more square in appearance and have the inside of a sporty luxury vehicle. Land Rovers and Range Rovers both have upgrade features that many other car brands have as well and most vehicles have the ability for seat options greater than 5 people which is great for large families or people needing the extra space for traveling, off roading, camping, etc. Loved the Land Rover but expensive to maintain.
The car offers DVD, good size video screens, the power is magnificent, for towing anything is the best. It is high-performance and the HSE. It has InControl smartphone app integration and it offers Driver Assistance package, includes a lane-departure warning system and 360-degree parking sensors. It also include standard satellite and HD radio across the lineup. You have to drive it to experience. There is enough room for both the passengers and the luggage you carry. It is suitable for the family, small to large, sitting area gives enough leg room for the tallest, and seats recliner positions good.Mine is the old shape but does not differ from the newer shapes, as the most features are the same, the electronics, the in-car entertainment is the best, and space for luggage. I could upgrade certain features in the car like your motor plan, and the main onboard computer. When you buy it new, you can select own color, size wheels and much more.
I really enjoy SUVs and thats why I went to Land Rover in the first place. To get a nice, big reliable SUV. My SUV is the color black and it has a very sleek color. It is quite large but not too large that it is difficult to park. It is also very boxy but not in an ugly way. Overall I think the car looks great. The SUV can fit 8 people and still has room for bags, suitcases, grocery and JUST more leg room in general which makes it more comfortable for the passenger.
I purchased a 2016 Range Rover and returned the Range Rover Sport about 10 times to have the navigation system repaired due the wrong directions that the system produced. I am a realtor and need use of the nav all day and all week. I have to use my iPhone for directions and when customers are call me all day, I cant see my nav on my phone. The salesman told me that the navigation and equipment was the best you can get and after paying $88,000 for the Range Rover Sport I found that friends of mine who purchased $25,000 cars had navigation systems that put mine to shame! The dealer and the CORPORATE office didnt care. A matter of fact, the unit was so bad that they change the system completely in the 2017 due to the many problems but they wouldnt admit it or make me happy by putting a 2017 unit in its place. Also the cost to maintain the automobile is extremely expensive. Dont think about buying a Range Rover before you read the 1000s of complaints.
The Land Rover offers vehicles that are great on any driving terrain. They have high quality tires on them that make this vehicle and all other models of the Land Rover perfect for driving in any type of weather conditions. The appearance of the Land Rover is very attractive. The Land Rover has heated seats, a high quality stereo system (which you can listen to Siris radio through), and a dvd player so that young children that ride in the vehicle will be occupied while you are driving. You can have your vehicle either upgraded or customized to your preference. You can have your vehicle with or without a dvd player installed in it or you can have it upgraded to 4 wheel drive. The Land Rover has a lot of space in it. Whether you use that space for traveling with the whole family, or just for taking things along, like on a vacation or a camping trip. Whatever the case may be, you are guaranteed to have enough space for all of it.
Range Rover sport HSE 2010 - As I read some of these reviews I realize that this scam bags at dealership did not disclose that these cars had to be recalled. I bought mine at November of 2010. Within the first month my navigation and center council kept on shooting off. They could or fix this even though the tech from England tried to remotely fix this. After thirty days they replaced the entire wiring and later on I sue and won 8k. Then I see the same violent leak and it was water pump and I have this again after 4 years. Then the gauge in the gas tank broke/stuck and I was left in middle of highway. Beautiful car even after 4 years but crappy workmanship. My boomers are coming out and body shop is telling me he does not like to fix it as any time he touches these cars something else break and does not worth for him.
Land Rover has a lot of different selection of cars on their car lot. I think I made a good decision based on the price and the selection that they currently had on hand. They have the most up to date cars on the market. They dont have any junk and they can only sell the best since they do ask for a lot of money as a down payment. They let you upgrade your car just as long as you have the money to do it. You can customize your car too for your style. I like the way it makes me feel. You can fit all that you need to fit. There is a lot of passengers room as well as trunk space. You can carry all your luggage and extras you may need to bring with you.
I spent £112,000.00p on an RR Autobiography in July 2017. All the gadgets fitted and a special paint colour. Having spent such a sum I was furious to find out that I then was told I had to buy a data SIM card to make the traffic system work. I was totally insulted. I then found out that the factory fitted Tracker was not fit for purpose and would not be accepted by my insurance company, so I had to have a higher category of Tracker fitted. More hassle and more expense. The engine auto stop/start function is a complete joke for a vehicle of such supposed quality. When this dire function kicks in, the car rocks like a dump truck on a building site. Truly awful. After a few months, a piece of trim in the roof came adrift. Without doubt, this has been the most disappointing motoring of my entire life. I will never buy again any JLR product, either new or used. JLR, for the sake of a data SIM card, have lost a customer forever.
11000 miles in going in year two of ownership. Yes the software updates for in control pro and screen blanking out were pain early on but our service has been great and our dealer gave us 4 years of annual service free for our early software issues. I really like the truck and judging by how many people own them here in Connecticut, have a true following and loyal fan base who all live through the little things. Also bought wife 2017 Disco Sport that is now on 30000 miles now going in 3 years and outside failed water pump under warranty, been pretty dependable and bullet-proof.
It was amazing. It was so cool and had so much fun on this brand. It has a lot of rooms and capacity to be helpful to others. Nice and good looking brand as well. Also was satisfied by their services offered. It may be expensive but I like the way it is and yup its worth a penny because its so new and different from the rest of the brand I have had ever tried. I am so happy to have this kind of brand and be lucky to get to experience it.
2012 Range Rover Supercharge - SO disappointed! Went without a car for well over a year, searched and found this one at a local high lined dealer in Atlanta, Georgia. 2 months after purchase major suspension problems, had fixed, month later more problems with wiring/electrical. Now 10 months later, MAJOR issues. Crankshaft/timing chain plastic parts. Can you even imagine why a car that cost over 100k would have plastic parts, let alone this many problems and repairs needed?I would NEVER recommend this brand of car to anyone every again, doesnt matter how much the price is, it is NOT made to last nor drive forever unless you have at least $5000 a year over the cost of payment and insurance to keep this car in driving condition and safety for your family. Sad to see a company NOT care nor want to make these problems right. I guess it will take many hurt/even killed possible or drag out in court for lawsuits for this to ever be done or fixed. Disappointed is not even the words to describe this company and its products!!!
Make no mistake, I have been a long time Land Rover fan (Im in the UK). I have had many Defenders, Range Rovers and a Disco 3. I have driven to Africa 5 times in a Defender including through the Central Sahara Desert to Niger and have another rebuilt Defender 300Tdi 110 now ready to go again. I have just sold the Disco 3 after a few problems cropped up - it was getting old anyway. We went to a local dealer, Harwoods in Lewes, East Sussex to look at an Evoque or Discovery commercial or anything else that looked suitable for a family vehicle and seeing clients. Well, yes theres a virus going round but we were told we could not enter the showroom and to go and have a look round the car park. Well the car park was full of various vehicles, maybe customers in for service or staff, who knows? By the way it was raining too. We shuffled a bit and left, rather unamused to put it mildly. If this is the best that LR can do when customers are potentially about to spend £100k GBP or more and become loyal to a brand, then they need to go back to business school. Land Rover has a criminally bad reputation for reliability and appalling customer service. Its not difficult to see why. We went to a Porsche dealer who was open, welcoming and thoroughly excellent. The older Rovers were simple and robust. Parts were good and reliable, not expensive. The newer generation ones are grossly over complicated with dodgy electronics, poor quality components (they have gone downhill for the last few years due to cost cutting as the vehicles were no longer required to be robust due to mainly be used on road, not off road). Throw in corporate complacency, inadequately trained technicians who swap assemblies (huge bills ...) rather than fault find and you have a nightmare of epic proportions. My advice is to buy another brand thats reliable and from a source where you can get personal service when buying and for servicing and not be lost in the system. In the Uk theres lot of experience of Land rovers, more than the US - you have been warned.
I purchased a 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE LUX in December 2014. A couple weeks later I started hearing an intermittent high-pitched sound from the dash. I have not been able to pinpoint what causes the noise. It doesnt matter whether or not I have the heat or AC on. I have had the car back to the dealership several times, for weeks at a time. They have admitted there is a problem, but they have not identified a fix. They have told me 3 other customers at my local dealership have the same complaint, but they have no answers. I have been in touch with both Land Rover North America Headquarters and the BBB. I have tried to evoke the SC Lemon Law. I have been told the noise does not qualify because it is not a safety issue. So here I am with a very expensive car that makes an obnoxious high-pitched noise and I can do nothing about it. I have never been more frustrated!
The Land Rover truck has plenty of room inside with all the amenities like the obvious cruise control but this has parking, and gps. Its climate controlled and ready for the road. This luxury type vehicle is very expensive but well worth it. Can upgrade to get a specific color of seats and interior. You can also get a Land Rover personalized with your own tag. Its a smooth ride and can drive in mountains, snow, ice, sleet and hail. The appearance is sleek yet rugged. It can hold up to 10 people and possibly more if they are small. It has plenty of storage and cargo room, along with the top of the vehicle ready to carry your bikes and other travel necessities.
Range Rover Evoque - Car lost power on the highway going uphill. The dealership said I had a blown turbo charger and the car had 57k miles on it so it was not under warranty. $4k later & two weeks in the shop I have the car back and am nervous to drive it. Ive also had both front headlights blow out during a nasty snow storm & dealership had no idea why. Good thing that happened under warranty or else I would have had to pay. The car is dangerous and there should be a suit against Land Rover.
Range Land Rover in Cardiff this morning and asked to speak to the salesman who dealt with me as I am awaiting on a part that came off my Range Rover SVR. Was told the salesman was busy and would call me back, had no response for a couple of hours and decided to call back and this time I was told by the same receptionist that the salesman I wanted to talk to has a day off??? I queried this with the receptionist that why was I told he was in and busy and now been told that he is not in work? She could not reply to this. I had ordered that part with them over a month ago and was advised by the salesman that this would take about a week to come and be painted, etc. etc.I feel like I am being fobbed off by the dealership and I truly wish that I was fobbed off before I parted with my £109,000.00 for the vehicle I purchased from them last year as then I wouldve gone and sourced another high end vehicle from another dealership. Reading the comments on here it seems that this is normal practice for this brand of dealership. Customer service is out of the door once they have had your money.
Bought 5/16 from Maserati dealer. Brake issue note on we owe you form. Dealer bailed! Took to LR dealer had inspected - run out 3x factory specs. Drove to NY 1200 miles, paid another JLR and they said no issue. Called original LR Dealer in Fl., said may be some rust due to humidity and car stand in lot. Ok. Not go to used Tow Hitch in my tool storage area. Well will not lock. (Orange key cannot be removed) Turn Green LR key lock assembly, will not lock, so I can remove key. Called warranty company, they said not excluded part, go to dealer. Called dealer to see if they had part in stock ($700) tow hitch. There are four part number for these tow hitches. Long shafts/short shafts are newer.Dealer parts was too busy to see if available, dont want to wait for UK, who gets from India. So cant tow. My Cayenne Turbo, fast as hell, but designed to blow oil, like an oil burner when hammered! Thats the way it is. RRS was driven by a lady and very clean used car, has AJ133 V8 same as XF and good on gas (67mph 1700 rpms-23-24 mpg). Jag gets over 28, but lighter. Cayenne was 20 mpg unless hammered then 9 mpg, but 125mph a no brainer! Bummer Tow hitches dont lock up right and are a road hazard. Poor design, but hopefully dealer will agree this is a breakdown not wear and tear, since used slightly by prior owner.
We went to Land Rover in Albuquerque, NM with the intent of purchasing a vehicle. Upon meeting the sales representative we immediately told him the things that the vehicle must have. The very first thing we said was, The vehicle must have Sirius XM radio as we live in a small town without radio options. We were excited to purchase our brand new 2017 Discovery Sport HSE. After signing papers and getting on the road we were unable to figure out how to access the Sirius XM radio. After getting home and reading the manual we still were unable to access Sirius XM. I have never purchased a vehicle and NOT had the sales representative call the next day to be sure everything is well with the vehicle, Land Rover, to say thank you, to check on our purchase... nothing. After not receiving a call I finally called them to ask about the radio. The sales rep says he needs to look up that information and upon returning says no our vehicle does not have Sirius XM. Later I called and spoke to the someone in the financial office to ask a question about gap insurance, and he eventually asked how everything was. I expressed my disappointment in the vehicle not having the one thing that we said the vehicle must have. He said it was likely not added to keep the cost down. I explained that we chose the HSE for its extras and that we purchased a $55,000 car not looking to save a buck on the radio. He said he would get back to me. He later called back to say that Sirius XM is an option on the vehicle purchased for about $800- $900 more. I would have gladly paid this! I was scheduled to go back to the dealership a few days later to have the car washed because on the day we bought it there was no one available to wash it. On the day I returned to have it washed the sales representative asked for the extra set of keys to the car I traded in, took a copy of the insurance card on the vehicle I purchased, and asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I was shocked. He didnt intend to have the car washed at all. I told him I talked to the finance guy who said Sirius XM was an option for $800-$900 and I said I would like to purchase it. The sales guy told me it was no longer an option once the car had been purchased. He did say he would look into it some more and get back to me, which of course never happened. I am so disappointed in the customer service of this company. I have had much better customer service buying much less expensive vehicles. I would have definitely went to BMW or Lexus if would have known Land Rover had such poor customer service.
The Range Rover Sport is by far the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. What a disappointment for a luxury SUV. The car always has issues, stays in the shop and is constantly in need of some type of service. The smallest things will require you to go to the dealer to be addressed. When any warning light comes on, prepare yourself for a trip to the dealer with your credit card ready. And this is way too often. For example, Ive had my tire pressure light come on, which is an appreciated notification, but after filling the tires with air the warning light wouldnt go off. Who needs a trip to the dealer for putting air in the tires? No thank you! Its an awesome looking vehicle but the maintenance is a part-time job and expensive. This car is like dating a young supermodel. Its great when its new and quite beautiful to look at, but it needs a lot of work under the hood and it is gonna cost you! You will get to know your repairman quite well if you purchase this vehicle. A truly disappointing experience.
I just bought a new 2011 Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE. And on the day I was supposed to pick up the vehicle, I was told that those vehicles do not come with floor mats. I have to buy one. I was shocked and asked the sales rep (very pleasant and helpful), how such an expensive vehicle come without floor mats. The cheapest Toyota offers that. After a while, I got a call that the manager will put complimentary cheap floor mats, not the original floor mats. Or I could get the original one at factory price. The problem is, in the invoice I got, it was not stated that the car comes without floor mats. And I do have to start the expenses before I enter the vehicle. Does such an expensive car really come without floor mats?
The car is a statement and is not only ready for all weather conditions and terrain. Its just as at home in the city streets as it is on a mountainside. It come in many different colors and finishes, leather and upgrades, care and maintenance packages. I wanted a specific wood grain and needed a sunroof, back carriage organizer, golf package, - specific white exterior. I got everything I was looking for. The truck comfortably seats 4, but 5 is its capacity. I dont have any children or carpooling, just me and my partner. So the size is perfect for furniture shopping.
Land Rover knows of an issue with the water pump in several Range Rover, Land Rover vehicles. The water pumps are no good. They’ve had to replace many of them. I’m afraid my car has been compromised due to the lack of concern by Land Rover.Elizabeth **
Steering vibration, in for repair 3 days ago. I has only done 166 miles awaiting outcome!!!!!! Not a cheap car should be perfect. New buyers beware.
I bought 2011 LR4 2 years ago. In the last 4 months, I have to send my car to fix parking brake 4 times. The problem is not fixed yet! The company did not keep its promise to reimburse my rental car. This is nightmare! The service department is no help at all. Can not get anybody from the dealer to help. This is the worst experience in my life.
In over 30 years of purchasing various vehicles, we can say without question that the Range Rover Velar has been our worst purchase ever and our greatest disappointment. We feel SO strongly about this that we even took the time to create our own webpage outlining our experience. Please see rangeroverreview.com.
Land Rover is an amazing experience. If you are looking for a classy vehicle, professionally looking and always keeps you on edge and comfortably. The appearance is sexy and elegant all at the same time. Combination between professional and powerful. The smokey gray is to die for. The Land Rover has a lot of space with a full upgrade of electronic. Bluetooth capable, automatic seats, a lot of great things come from this car. It has a very nice space for 5 people with a lot of leg room. Its absolutely amazing for a road trip with the luggage and car space.
I have had my vehicle for about a year and have only been able to drive it a little over 8 months due to the incompetent services rendered. Today (Mar 2nd 2017) I received my vehicle after 2 1/2 months (Dec 16 2016) of it being in the shop for the third time and it was delivered with a broken windshield window. The service manager was notified and informed the tow truck driver to still drop off the vehicle; not to mention the RANGE ROVER road assistance crashing the vehicle into my garage on one of these three occasions.Dealings with the RANGE ROVER BRAND has given me a negative image of them and how they treat their customers. Nothing has been resolved after over a year with dealing with RANGE ROVER Customer Service and RANGE ROVER USA and now they have forced me to look into the Lemon Act for my State. BUYERS BEWARE!!!
I have the range rover. Its a very quiet ride and feels as if youre floating when driving. Its also very roomy, youre children will love you. It has absolutely fantastic leg room, plenty of room for the pet to come along also. You can also have a romantic evening with your date on the shorelines. They also include top luxury models but do be preparing to spend at least 50,000. The vehicles are beautiful though and well thought out. They also pay attention to detail and you have many options to choose from. Wheels, interior leather, wood trim, many different exterior paint color options and many options for engine. I prefer a v8 engine. They will last a lifetime if you have regular maintenance done.
Its very convenient for me. It has very safe features that I look for in a brand. Very trust worthy. Ive been shopping this brand mostly all my life. It has never let me down. Air bands are countable. Seat belts are comfortable and so are the seats. Seat heater is wonderful because it snows a lot where I live. The back space is very useful. A lot of storage under the seats which is a big factor and helps a lot. Tvs so I can entertain my kids. Its easy to clean. Also, drives smoothly. Its able to fit up to 15 people which is a plus for my big family. I have kids with friends that sometimes I have to give them rides to school or to practice and its perfect for space.
Land Rover offers great vehicles, which are very economic on gas and great for road trips. Its easy to fix and take care of. Its a very nice and sophisticated type of vehicle. The interior is very nice, mirrors work well, electronic locks, and spacious room to put things to go on a travel. It has enough room to fit a family of 6 and room in the back to put bags and luggage for vacation and has plenty of room to be comfortable for long trips. Every few years newer models have been produced and the options have become more updated.
My $75k car broken down after 2 days of ownership. This is my 3rd day of ownership for this brand new 2017 Range Rover Sport car and I have already experienced a multitude of problems. I left the dealership with a full tank, but today the car said my tank was empty even though I only drove 160 miles according to odometer. I called the dealer and was asked to drive to dealership for a checkup. My dealer (Encino CA) is 26 miles away, so I decided to drive to Pasadena Land Rover (1 mile away) for a quick checkup. Then, out of nowhere, my car stalled 4 times in the middle of road on the way to the dealership. I almost got into accident because the car stalled while I was turning in an intersection!Once again, my Range Rover stalled at dealer’s parking spot which happened to be at an incline. The car (switched to?) neutral and I began to slide backwards. Although I was screaming for help because I was losing control my car, the service guy took his sweet time. He nonchalantly told me to keep pressing on the break. However, because of how heavy the car is and I was stationed at an incline it took a considerable amount of strength to press the break in order to make sure the car stayed still. My foot was holding the break for five minutes before the dealer finally approached me. I almost lost my strength to hold on break because my foot was shaking from the amount of force I was using to push the break. I almost attempted to press the panic button.Instead of driving a brand new car, I felt that I was driving some 50-year-old car. Even with its advanced safety features, the system still failed me and I could have gotten into a fatal accident. No one should have to deal with these issues, especially if the car is brand new and you have only driven for a couple of days. Overall, the Range Rover Sport 2017 is an unreliable car and Land Rover has bad service. Don’t buy this car or any cars from this company.
Range Rover 2015 sport - Car lost steering power while I was driving with only 3,000 miles. I couldnt turn the wheel at all. Problems with the battery, it was replaced once and continues to drain and shows low battery every other week. New car with lots of problem. Im trying to return it and get my money back. IT is a true lemon. Beautiful to look at, but cant trust it anymore.
I was 15 days late having the Discovery Sport serviced after one year. I was charged the full cost of servicing... $601. Im not at all pleased and I will never return to lease a Land Rover or Jaguar again.
Purchased a fully loaded 2018 RR Sport on Friday and drove home without issue. The next morning the climate and info system begin shutting down and restarting every 30 seconds. Had the car taken to the dealer Sunday and luckily got ahold of the bank to stop any money from making it to the dealer. Just told them to keep the car. I’m not paying around $100k for a vehicle that needs a repair within 13 hours of driving off the lot. Car had 80 miles on it when I bought it. The fact Land Rover can’t seem to produce a fully functional vehicle amazes me. They essentially make a gorgeous expensive car that looks great on the back of a flatbed truck. Wish a company would buy Land Rover that would then focus more on quality. I was in love with the car but couldn’t be more disappointed with the result. Luckily the dealer was reasonable and let me walk understanding how frustrating this was for me.
Unfortunately I was blind with the manufactory believing was an excellent, but let me tell you its all problems like a regular manufacturer. The first day before signing the paperwork at dealership, walking around the car I notice left led light was off. Guess what, A FUSE they said... hmm brand new car and fuse blow out... ok... 3 weeks after now my remote keyless wont work... Guess what is common on these HIGH END VEHICLES that the computer or keys go flat. I thought buying $57.000 car was a worry-free, no headaches, like regular manufacturers. Oh, and dont expect 5-star customer service when you have problems, they are like a regular Ford, Chevy, dealership same level.
I ordered a new 2017 Range Rover Sport. I waited over four months to have what I thought was the car of my dreams to be built. The day after I took delivery, I was back at the dealership because the navigation didn’t work. My car has been into the service department 7 times. Initially, the car would alarm when getting into it, saying the car was not put in Park. I took pictures to show the car was in park each time, but would sound off when I would get back into the vehicle. This was ultimately resolved with what they said was a software update. I have an iPhone 7 that works all the time, including with my 2008 BMW. The phone does not consistently connect to the Bluetooth. A call will go out or come in, but neither person can hear the person on the other end of the line. The navigation does not connect. My last time in, I was told it might be my phone. There was nothing they could do. Software was up to date. This was after the entire Infosystem has been replace for the phone not working, the media not working, the navigation not working, and the entire screen going black for no reason at all. After contacting Apple, they confirmed my phone is not the issue. After countless trips to the service department without resolution, I requested Land Rover buy back the car. Even though they have at least 6 service records, they replied they have looked into it, and my car does not qualify, without a real explanation. I have now submitted my complaint to the BBB. I cannot imagine a luxury 2017 vehicle is not compatible with a phone that’s a year or so old. It works perfectly fine in every other circumstance, including the Bluetooth in other vehicles.
I have the RR Supercharged. I purchased it in Mexico City in 2014 directly from the LR importer (and not any distributor) and actually has 22,585 kilometers, and I sent it to ETB Armoring company, the only company recommended by LR. This RR is in a very BAD condition due to the bad or the worst armoring assembling, everything vibrate and makes a lot a noise and the suspension is in a very bad shape. It looks like a 2 millions kilometers and not +/- 20,000 kilometers. And from the LR Company here in Mexico City NOBODY cares. I called many times. The person in Charge of Service by the name of Antonio ** and he did never care. What about the promises that is a millions kilometers SUV?! And the best service EVER? I think they meant NEVER and not ever...
After owning this 2022 Land Rover Defender I have problems. The camera have a red box around the screen and my backup sensors and front sensors do not work. I have to bring in to the dealership but I’m on vacation in Cabo San Lucas for 4 months and there’s the problem. Won’t reimburse me on trip protection because the car is drivable. The closest dealership is 1056 miles away 1 way. Also there are a lot of noises coming from the driver headliner by the grab handle. If you pull down the noise goes away. In the back also there was a noise and I put some tape on the problem area and so far the noise has not came back. You would think on a $91,000 car customer service would help you out better.
I have been in love with my 2013 Evoque up until about 65K miles when a belt had to be replaced for $2,000. I let it slide. Now at 70,000 miles, I need a whole new engine. The fourth cylinder no longer has compression, so it is only running on three cylinders and cannot be driven. I have kept up with all regular service and have taken very good care of this vehicle. The dealership is unable to offer any sort of explanation or concern as to why this would happen to an engine with only 70K miles on it. A new motor is estimated at $15 to $20K. As much as I loved driving this vehicle, I thought I would be a Range Rover customer for life. Never again.
The drive shaft rusted/disintegrated at 75,000 miles, leaving us stranded in the roadway. The Land Rover N.A. is caustic and rude, and refuses to assist in repair or payment. Local dealer has never responded or acknowledged. The repair cost $9,000.
I own a 2016 Range Rover Evoque. Three days after I drove it off the lot, the engine light came on. A call to their service center resulted in being told to drive it for a week and see if it resets itself. Well, a week later and it didnt so I called back. Within the time frame of the engine light and the servicing, the trunk wouldnt close properly one day (kept bouncing back up) and upon closer look, I notice the latch was chewed up from it forcing itself closed. The Evoque went in for servicing and came out with no engine light and the dealership telling me it had to go into a body shop for 2 days to fix the trunk latches, which apparently arent aligned properly (translation: they lack a proper QA process on their assembly line). A few hours after I got the car back, the engine light came back on. I called the dealership back and was told that the issue is part of a problem that Land Rover hasnt sent a fix for. Great. So since buying the car, Ive had the engine light on and the trunk doesnt close properly. It was scheduled to go in for servicing at the body shop today or tomorrow but the service folks wont tell me what day. I STILL cannot get in touch with them - leaving multiple messages results in nothing. No call back. Nothing. So I have no idea what is going on. And as if all of this wasnt enough, last week we had rain. Yes. Rain. But apparently a Range Rover doesnt like rain. At 2:00 in the morning, I was awoken by the car beeping twice every 10 seconds. I actually thought the alarm was going off, but unlocking and locking the vehicle didnt stop it. When I walked up to the car, the beeping stopped, but the trunk started to open and close, repeatedly, in the pouring rain. I had NO idea what was happening. A quick google search told me it was the sensors for the trunk, and that RAIN does this. Imagine that - RAIN. So I decided to back the car up as close to my porch to try to protect it from the rain, but this didnt stop it. Horn going back off. Its now 2:45 AM. I have an 8 AM meeting. My neighbors are telling me theyre going to take a ** baseball bat to the car if I dont shut it up. So when I approach it (within a meter) the trunk starts to open again, but because its so close to the house, it cant open all the way and then it BEEPS to tell me it cant and then closes. This is no joke. I cant even get off the porch to get into the car to stop it because the stupid trunk opening wont let me. I had to climb OVER the side of the porch and garbage cans to get off the porch (in the pouring rain in the middle of the night in my pajamas) to get into the car. Starting it stopped nothing. So I tried to tape garbage bags over the sensors to protect them - nope. Didnt work. At 3:00 in the morning, I had to drive my brand new 2016 Range Rover Evoque 20 minutes north of my house to an industrial area with no houses so it could beep to its hearts content. I was soaking wet, frozen and exhausted, and I sat in the car until 6:10 AM when the rain decided to ease up enough that the car would shut up. Then I drove back home, showered and went to work. Do you know what the dealerships response was? Remove the fuse for the horn. THIS is what they tell me to do. I drove my Mazda 3 for 7 years and didnt have a single problem with it. Ive owned this Evoque for 2 1/2 months and its been a nightmare. I expect the issue to be FIXED, or give me another damn Evoque sans issues. But dont tell me to drive with an engine light on and remove the fuse for my horn to solve problems. These should NOT be my problems to solve. Its BRAND NEW. So no - do not buy a vehicle because they have issues and the servicing and customer service is absolutely dreadful.
I have been driving Land Rovers in my family since 2005 and exclusive owned 5 products so far right from LR3, LR4 and most recent Range Rover sport diesel 2016s. Purchased my first Range Rover sport in May of 2016. The car spent more time in the dealership due to transmission issues and leaks on an ongoing basis. I traded the car for another Range Rover Sport TD6. After about 1000 miles transmission fluid started leaking and could smell smoke in the cabin. Minor leaks but continuous. Dealer took the car in twice to change out various seals. However leaks continued. Car has been at dealership for over a month. Dealer lowered the entire transmission and determined that the transmission fluid leaked through the material of the transmission housing. The material is porous and allows transmission oil through its walls. So dealer order a new transmission for a car now at about 2000 miles. There is major issue with the material of construction of the transmission and is quite unsafe in my opinion. I have asked for a full compensation through dealership and Jaguar Land Rover North America. The response so far has been very slow both from JLR North America and the dealer tells me that such things take time to resolve. Meanwhile I continue paying for the car. My main concern with the car is its reliability and safety. I am still waiting to hear dealer and JLR North America. I will update post as issue gets resolved. Meantime any advice highly appreciated.
The 2014 Evoque Range Rover is an accident waiting to happen. Recalls to updates to not understand how this car is supposed to run. For an higher end car it does not hold true to quality. Car has 76,000 miles and told its needs a new transmission for $24,000 which is the value of the car. Car stalls when on highway, car stalls when out in gear. Higher quality parts do not last longer than any other car. Problem after problem. Worst car I have ever owned from day one. You dont know if its the eco turning car off or if its stalling.
The brakes wear warning came on at 27100 km. I drive mostly highway and I am very light on the brakes, so when I saw the warning I ignored and thought it is false alarm. A week later, light disappeared. Drove for another week, warning brake light came on again. Kept driving, but the light stayed on. By that time I had 28000 km, so I decided to take it to my local garage and let him check the brakes.I was told that the rear brake pads are completely gone and rotors were rusted, so I asked if this is normal and mechanic answer was NO WAY. He explained that the front brakes do most of the work and to have rear brakes completely worn out is extremely unusual. He went on to say that they must have been faulty brakes. I called the dealer which is Thornhill Land Rover and talked to the service manager Sandro who told me that this is normal and depends on my style of driving, in other words SOL.I called Land Rover Canada after spending 20 min on the phone with some dim light lady. She decided after consulting with someone else that it is wear and there is nothing they can do for me. So I am sorry to say that after driving BMW for 15 years switching to Land Rover Discovery 2016 was the biggest mistake. My previous BMW all of them I drove to 65000 km and never replaced or seen brake lights come on. For all of you who are thinking or considering buying this car save your money and headache and stay away. Its a lemon and neither the company nor the dealers care.
I purchased a 2006 Range Rover HSE with 18,000 miles. I owned the vehicle for one year and that is when my financial nightmare started. The first incident that occurred was with the front differential, which needed to be replaced at 30,000 miles. Three months later, the air suspension needed to be replaced as well. I am lost for words as to why is it that this is a so-called top of the line luxury vehicle. I was suckered into buying this basically junk and ** expensive vehicle, which is costing me and a lot of others nothing but financial burden and headaches. I cannot wait to unload this junk by any means. I will never purchase a Land Rover ever again!
Its my second Land Rover since 2006 from LR Encino. The first experience was not bad. This time around its just unbelievable disappointing. My LR4 is handsome, black on black with a nice trim, wheels, etc. I have only had it for 2 years and whenever I take it into the dealership for diagnostic testing and service-they always have a list of issues with the truck, quoting thousands of dollars. For an expensive auto brand at 2 y.o. it is equivalent to an older car that needs a lot of repairs. It completely died recently. Why am I paying premium again just so I can shell out more money unnecessarily? I was sold a pre-paid service package at signing which is a waste of money! The dealer wants me to upgrade the nav system out of pocket, but its a lease! Maintenance is not included in the package, btw. Just not what I expect from Land Rover. Please make quality automobiles like you used to! STOP upselling and cross-selling nonsense!
I bought my 3rd Land Rover in 2017 after a long hiatus (after issues in 1998/2003). Almost immediately the infotainment screen began blacking out and rebooting all the time. It took 3 days for them to update this, it worked a bit better but it was not perfect. Whenever I called in for service, they would ask me if I was SURE I wanted to get it fixed (like, are you SURE you want to wait for how long its going to take us) because they dont have loaner cars, and the technicians are slow to get to issues. This was April 2017. Forward to December. I am driving out of my neighborhood (I am at 5500 altitude) and I accelerate aggressively to get around an 18 wheeler as I am getting into high speed traffic coming down the mountain. My accelerator pulls from my foot, is flush with the floor, and tips at 85 mph with the RPM gauge redlining at 8000. The car is wobbling and shaking, I have zero control of it. I press the brake several times pretty hard/gentle and it finally pops out. I never drove the car again. (Note, the service person had the audacity to ask if I was sure I wasnt accidentally driving with both feet. Right. 1st gear at 8000 RPM. With my right foot on the brake. Yeah). Car was towed back to the dealership where I got it, 500 miles away, they offered me a decent trade amount, I trade up to a Supercharged regular Range Rover, with a hefty price tag. They put this car above back out on the lot for sale a few days later. The new car has issues almost immediately. The steering wheel jerking into left and right lanes at high speeds out of the blue. Techs said, Oh disable your lane assist. So I did that, no help. I almost was jerked into an 18 wheeler on a curve on a highway in the rain the next day going 65mph. Then they say, Oh, disable your blind spot warning. I did this as well. Of no help. I go in and uncheck the driver assist for both options, and it seems to help some. Then of course the black screen starts its visits, rebooting in the middle of driving or not coming on at all. Bluetooth calls dropping. The gear shift dial sticking (cant D to R or R to D or P) and with the computer rebooting randomly, coming back on during driving, all the cameras go nuts and start making sounds all over the place until it realizes that the car is actually DRIVING now, not trying to park. The dealership refunded my money for this one. I am forever grateful for that, they did step up. They did imply that LRs were more for appeal and looks and status than reliability and dependability. They say, its a great car if you are ok with being in the shop, even better to live near one. I got a GMC Yukon Denali yesterday. Its amazing, and my breakup with Land Rover is complete. The accelerator incident was one of the scariest events of my life. I am not a panicky person, but I had nightmares for weeks after that one.
On 23 July 2014 I purchased a 2011 Range Rover HSE with 35,043 miles on it for $63,289.00 from Land Rover Seattle. At that time I also purchased a warranty from National Warranty Corp., for $5000. To date I’ve put less than 35k miles on the vehicle. So basically Ive spent over $1800 per mile driven. The vehicle has completely stalled out (complete loss of power) on 6 different occasions. On three of those 6 occasions I’ve been put in life-threatening positions. On this last occasion, while entering the freeway at 60 miles per hour the vehicle stalled out. Two times before that I stalled out while crossing a major intersection blocking 8 lanes and the police had to direct traffic and call in 2 other officers to push me out of the way.My vehicle has been in the shop for approximately 100+ days in the last 5 years. I’ve been very patient, but this last close call has pushed me over the edge. I’ve been so traumatized that I no longer am able to drive the vehicle. I contacted their corporate office and the dealership. The sales manager told me, over the phone they would give me $18,000 toward a trade-in + another $2000. When I got to the dealership today they told me they would give me 10K. for my car. It was my dream to own a Range Rover, but clearly it is only for the very wealthy, as I cant afford to drop 63k on a vehicle that I put 35K miles on and the value is now 10k. Please also note that I had a 45,000 and 65,000 mile service on the vehicle.
My Range Rover sport 2013 was the best until I had to do maintenance and there is when the nightmare starts. A car with only 40.000 miles on. The car is now 60.000 miles and the coolant problem still not solved. After spent so much money to get scammed by these people I still need to put coolant at least once a week, ignore the coolant light on because it can never be fixed. These cars are popular for having coolant leaking problems but doesn’t matter how much they charge and you are willing to pay you will only get scammed. They will not fix your car or admit that they are basically taking your money for the same thing over and over again. Took my car to 5 times to get this problem solved, spent thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing. Just stress. And they have the audacity to call you next day to say: Are you happy with our services? Oh no, I’m sorry for all the trouble we may cause to you. Maybe we can fix this issue with a new car!!! No. Thanks! Every time I took my car to get “fixed” they loan me a newer model and all drive like cheap cars. I should listened to friends who deal with the same problems with their brand new Land Rovers and should never ignore all the bad reviews they have. Now I’m absolutely ready to sell it and get far far away from any type of Land Rover or Jaguar brand cars. I absolutely don’t recommend Land Rover cars. Horrible experience!
For everyone who owns a Land Rover, listen up! We all know that Land Rovers are high maintenance! It doesnt matter if you have a 1990 Defender or a 2015 LR4. It will eventually fail in some way, shape or form! With that said, you have to treat them like gold. If youre one of those Soccer moms - with all due respect, that needs to jump in the car four or five times a day to run errands with the A/C blasting in the middle of the summer, then maybe this isnt the vehicle for you. Land Rovers are like Ferraris. You have to constantly be on top of them, know when the vehicle breaks before it does! Keep money in savings and always be prepared! With that said I recently purchased a 2001 Discovery 2 in mint condition! Only 111k on the OD. First thing I did was look under the carriage - Hmm, no leaks. Looked under the hood - no leaks. Everything was nice, clean and looked new! Checked the oil - it was so clean you could drink it! I thought whats the catch? Took it for a test drive. Ran perfect except for every stop I could hear the airbag compressor blowing air! Ok ,no biggie. I bought it. Next day drove it to work. Halfway to work, bam. Yep the three amigos come on! ABS,TC, and Downhill Assist. Ok, Ill check it after work! Kept driving about a mile - engine makes big noise. Check engine light comes on! Only for a sec then off. Hmm... Thats weird. Go about another mile - bang again. What the... Go about another mile, then vehicle just dies while driving on a heavy street doin 55 in a 45. Quickly, I pulled safely off the road into a CVS Pharmacy. Now late for work, I let it sit for a minute. Started right up - was able to get to work! Next day, took it to my mechanic who is really familiar with Euro cars. He happens to own a Jag! After computer reads 6 possible causes, we found a short in the crank shaft solenoid! $350.00 US later, vehicle ran fine! If I would have taken it to a dealer or Land Rover, it would have been about $1600.00 US and they probably would have fixed the wrong thing! I have recently put new rear airbags. Bought them online for less than $200.00 and had my cousin installed them. Now the vehicle drives like a Cadillac with no lights on! Now I know not everyone has a cousin that is a master mechanic especially owning three Toyota Land Cruisers and a lifted Samuri! But do your homework. Land Rovers are notorious for having electrical problems! If anything gets wet, corroded, dirty, do the best you can - always keep it clean, free of mud, dirt, snow etc... And I have learned if one little thing goes, it makes ten others go as well, so find out for sure if you can exactly what the issue is and then the others will probably disappear as well! Land Rover dealers especially will ** you for your money! And probably never fix whats really wrong! Good Luck and God bless!! Hope this helps.
I bought my 1st Range Rover Autobiography in 2014. Good car all round apart from slow electrics and infotainment system while started on transmission at 40 000 miles. Range Rover would not fix it so I bought a new 2017 Autobiography. New car has much smaller fuel tank which I dont like. Park distance warning goes off when it shouldnt. Sometimes electric rear seats dont fold down or up. When in automatic the gearbox holds on to lower gears too long and the engine is revving too much. Infotainment screen goes blank sometimes. Bentayga is much better car but I dont like the looks of them.
I have leased a Land Rover Evoque 2015 (new) - it has 92000 km and my lease is up Jan 2019. On July 14 the engine just stopped - I had it towed to a local mechanic. I wanted to make sure it was not just a battery issue (quick review) - I was told that the engine had experienced a catastrophic failure and caused the top of the engine block to blow off. I then had it towed to Metro West - where they just sat on the car for over two weeks- Always telling me that they are working on it with Land Rover. On July 27 I went into the dealer and demanded answers. The Service manager gave me a toll free number to Land Rover. I made the call and they had no record of my vehicle issue. It then takes Land Rover until Aug 03 - to tell me that if I went through them they would put in up to 3500.00 on repairs. They only want to replace with new engine (cost 18,000.00). Still they have not investigated why this happened. All service was performed, with the proper oil - there was no tell tail signs that there was an issue, the engine had the proper amount of oil. I have all records and photos of engine, plus a letter with a licensed mechanic opinion. On Aug 07 - I have towed my car from Metro West and brought it to my regular mechanic OK Hi Standard Tire. Through all this I have rented my own car - which I need to get myself prepared for a kidney transplant and work. I have asked Hi Standard tire to take all photos and see if we can determine what failed internally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I own a 2014 Range Rover. The engine completely went out at 56K miles. The warranty is 55k miles. Land Rover will not assist me with repairs. I have seen a lot of complaints about the Range Rover Evoque online. If interested in a class action lawsuit, please email me a short description of your experience, first and last name with contact information.
