How Good Is Super Cruise On Long Freeway Trips?

Fully autonomous vehicles on the road aren't going to happen for a long, long time.
The bubble has deflated, and expectations are finally starting to be tempered. What we are left with are either half measures or valuable driver aids. GM's Super Cruise system seeks to be a super helpful hands-free driver aid for the highway. In theory, you can join a freeway, get to speed, tap a button and the car will cruise along and take care of keeping a safe distance from a vehicle in front while steering for you. To oversimplify, it marries adaptive cruise control and a more robust version of lane-keep assist so the driver can dial back and be less stressed on the freeway. There are caveats and limitations, which we'll get into, but that's the overview.
We've experienced Super Cruise a few times but rarely take press cars on long freeway trips. So, when this writer was charged with driving to Las Vegas to drive McLaren's new supercar, Cadillac was good enough to supply an XT6 so we could spend quality time with Super Cruise on the four-and-a-half-hour road trip. The trip from LA to Las Vegas is simple. You prepare yourself for driving in a straight line on the I-15 for four hours, surrounded by bad drivers on a primarily two-lane freeway. It's precisely the kind of driving Super Cruise should shine with, and it does - mostly.
The first caveat of GM's Super Cruise is that the road you want to use it on has been mapped and is in the system. The second is that the driver has to be attentive and watch the road. The car uses GPS with real-time map data to determine the vehicle's location, while the Lane Sensing Camera detects the marked lanes on the road. The system also uses LiDAR for the adaptive cruise control part of the system.
To keep tabs on the driver's head and eye positioning, there's a tiny camera around the steering column and sensors on either side of the steering wheel's light bar that change color to alert the driver to changes in the system. Super Cruise controls the throttle, brakes, and steering when the light is green. When it turns blue, it senses the driver taking control of the steering and flashes red when Super Cruise disengages completely. How Does Super Cruise Work?rnThe major selling point of Super Cruise is that it doesn't require the driver's hands on the wheel when engaged. It will accelerate, brake, cruise, and steer for you on a supported highway.
Some models also feature Lane Change on Demand, which works when the driver flips the indicator. This feature wasn't equipped for our 2022 XT6 loaner, but we've used it on one of GMC's trucks, and while it's disconcerting at first, we found it reliable and helpful.
Without it, you need to take control of the car, turning the lightbar blue, then recenter in the next lane for Super Cruise to take over again. For the most part, though, you can sit and keep an eye out while the system drives for you. Is Super Cruise Good?rnWhile Super Cruise is currently the best and safest autonomous feature available, it's not perfect.
It's at its best on roads that have their road markings well maintained. Otherwise, the steering can become a little jerky. On one section of the I-15, which is not a great example of American roads, we were being followed by a police car and became genuinely concerned we might be pulled over on suspicion of drunk driving for the way the XT6 was moving and jerking around in its lane on a long, slight bend.
However, when the road markings were maintained to a reasonable standard, the XT6's steering inputs were smooth enough not to be jarring, and the car was kept in the center of its lane. In light traffic on a reasonably maintained road, Super Cruise went for an hour smoothly without fault.
However, when traffic started building, things weren't so smooth, and the asshole drivers came out to play. When you've been sitting behind two cars at 50 mph. Then, you pull out to pull an overtaking maneuver at 65 mph, preparing to go past both. Suddenly, one of the cars decides also to join the overtaking lane, and Super Cruise reacts and keeps you safe by braking, but it's very sudden.
Super Cruise does its job as intended, but a few times, we saw indicators that a car was about to do something careless or stupid. That's not the fault of Super Cruise, but being reactive is a limitation of the technology - it can't spot a shift in a vehicle's positioning that a driver can pick up on as a warning sign and react early to it - like easing off the throttle to increase the gap as a defensive maneuver.
The result, either way, is avoiding a collision, but that's where paying attention pays off with Super Cruise - a smoother ride for the driver and passengers. The difference with Super Cruise is that it's always paying attention, so it's an excellent failsafe. On the way home after dark in heavy traffic, we gave up on Super Cruise as it wanted to accelerate and brake too suddenly for comfort.
Again, that's a limitation of the technology. It can't predict other drivers' actions; it just reacts to them. Once out of Las Vegas, with traffic easing up, Super Cruise did its job nicely and without incident, until we reached that poorly maintained section with little to no painted lines again.
We thought the cat's eyes would help now as they are only effective at night, but it didn't appear so. After that, Super Cruise made what's usually a tedious yet stressful drive easier. The result was being more alert and attentive for a longer duration and not suddenly feeling like it was time for rest stops. Instead, it was a case of "Oh, I could use a coffee and a snack," not, "I need a break."rnA subtle but essential difference on a road trip. The Snag With Super Cruise And Autonomy In GeneralrnOf the three times this reviewer has driven a car with Super Cruise, there have been errors thrown up twice, and Super Cruise just stopped working.
It happened at the end of this journey, telling us to consult the manual. Super Cruise reset when the car was turned off and left overnight. The next day we drove through some rain and sleet, and there we got warnings that the sensors were blocked and Super Cruise wouldn't work.
That's a technical limitation on all sensor-based driving aids, but it's worth bearing in mind if you're looking to option Super Cruise on a car - it won't work all the time, and stormy weather can affect its operability. How Complete Is Super Cruise As A Technology?rnCurrently, GM is expanding Super Cruise usability from around 200,000 miles to 400,000 miles of roadways in the US and Canada, and there are no signs things will slow down from there. When you buy the vehicle, the sensors are fixed, but GM does upgrade the software via over-the-air updates and plans to keep extending the number of roads Super Cruise works with. If or when it'll be suitable for city streets is anybody's guess.
Super Cruise isn't cheap, so it's worth asking yourself if you'll use it regularly. On Cadillacs, it costs $2,500 as an option, and on Chevrolet models, it costs $2,200 on models if available. You'll also find it on some GMC trucks and SUVs as an option or built into high trim levels.
If Super Cruise is included on a trim level, it's a no-brainer. As an option, it's something we would think about before committing. Super Cruise-enabled models come with three years of free connectivity that supports Super Cruise's functionality, and after that, it becomes a paid subscription. Verdict: A Limited But Useful Tool To HavernWhen it's available, and the road markings are reasonably maintained, Super Cruise is excellent.
Still, we would want the Lane Change on Demand ability as it completes the package and experience. It's an expensive option, so we would consider how often we would use Super Cruise before committing and look at the map on Chevrolet's website and make sure the roads we use regularly are covered or will be covered in the future.
It's a complicated system to recommend as, while not a beta product, it needs to be completed in terms of road coverage. There's an argument to be made that by adding Super Cruise, you're future-proofing your purchase. It's a valid point, but if your regular routes aren't available, there's no way of knowing when or if specific roads will be added.
GM intends to make Super Cruise as widely available as possible and keep expanding the service, so it becomes about trusting GM to keep pushing and improving its product. If the stars are aligned, and the freeways you use regularly are covered, it's a great addition to a car, but its limitations need to be understood and taken into account.

I purchased a preowned 2006 Cadillac CTS 1 week ago and two days later with my new expensive car, the car barely accelerated from a stop. I was almost t-boned 3 times already. My gas mileage is terrible due to the car not shifting out of 4th gear. No 5th. I have to floor the pedal just to creep up to speed, then the car wont shift so it runs high RPMs burning gas. I have read numerous things about this car shutting off, starting on fire, extensive repairs OMG! It is currently under recall for an ignition switch that just shuts off, this disables, brakes, steering, oh yeah and the air bags! Great! Visited two different GM dealerships who showed no concern or offered anything but expensive diagnostic fees. Never mind that I might not love looking enough to make the appointment in the defective POS that Ive just saddled myself with! The car only has 56k miles on it. I paid 15 grand for it and have a large monthly payment. I own an import (German) with 157000 miles it and it runs like a top and I own it. Guess which car I drive! Thank you Audi for being everything GM is not. My advice finance companies and banks should stop providing financing for this entire GM line since once you are Dumb enough to own one you cant give it away. If no one can finance one people would still getting ripped off and maybe GM would start to build a quality product and back it! And the finance companies and banks would stop going out with a repo company and picking them up. That is where mine will end up going. No one can offer a solution on what is wrong! So it can sit and rot until they come get it and my credit will suck and the bank will lose money. In the end, the crooks at GM got paid so what do they care! Listen up banks - avoid GM car financing like the plague, especially the Cadillac CTS!
I own a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. In 2014, I received a bulletin from GM that a bearing in the supercharger could go bad and ultimately seize the engine. The letter went on to say they extended coverage for this problem for 10 years or 120K miles. The letter instructed me to listen for a rattling noise when the car was at idle. It expressly said in the letter, not to bring the car for service unless you hear the noise. At my next service, I asked if the car had the problem - they said No, that is the injectors you are hearing. The next time the car went for service was 130,000 miles. I never heard a rattling noise, but the car was diagnosed with the problem. It will cost me $3,250 to fix. This is just after pouring over $6,000 into the car (new rear-end, etc.). I called customer care and explained that the letter said not to bring the car in unless I heard the noise. This was a known problem that GM was aware of - I did as they instructed and now I am facing a $3,250 bill. I realize the car is over the mileage limit (despite being well within the 10 year extended coverage for this issue), so I asked if they would consider paying half. I further explained that I am an owner of three GM vehicles and was in the market to replace one. They just said No.
Cadillac ats 2013 - Vehicle makes loud clunking noise when in drive and at a stop. Feels as if engine is shaking. For 50,000 miles and engine noises to appear seems as if Cadillac is a rip off. The worst, the dealer doesnt help unless you pay for them to diagnose what is so loud and clear. GM needs to get their crap together. Cadillac vehicles are beautiful, but will become ugly to an owner that has to spend so much money on an issue that is obviously from the maker. How do you expect to compete with BMW?
Cadillac has very distinct look that can be seen near and afar. It has a quality of car features that outlooks all others, that stands out above all else. Cadillac Escalade trucks, three different versions of the Cadillac cars in town to sporty. Love that they are SUVs, cars, trucks, just a difference variety of quality vehicles. On sat, digital and WiFi, on star cruise control, anti-lock brake systems, back-up navigation, GPS, a rd and American quality that far extended and exceeds. Love the way it steers and the smooth driving experience. Can hold a lot of stuff... a trunk that could hold a elephant. It is a electrified experience and the make of it lets more people fit into her.
Cadillac looks very luxurious and delightful. I enjoy the comfort it gives and the technology the most. Its very beautiful and simple yet evolutionary. I love the sleekness each model gives. It is so much different than others. Such as one is made for families while others may be made for romance or business. I do not often contain passengers in my car but when I do my guests seems to love it. My model may only carry 5 passengers but overall its great. The GPS is great and it gives such accurate information. I never get lost anymore. The speakers are crisp and clear and the airbags are regularly checked. I love how regular checks are free and so are the repairs.
I love the car. It is very reliable, a great brand, and very affordable. I am happy with the choice I made. My friends always tell me how nice my car looks. You dont have to change much of the features because they are already stylish. I didnt do much upgrading on my car because I didnt have to but you can do a lot of upgrading if you wanted to. You can afford most of the upgrades and most car places do have all the parts. Though the back is a little crammed, the passengers always compliment how comfortable the seats are and how nice all the features are in the cars. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Very Comfortable to ride in. The overall experience of a smooth ride. The seating is spacious. Body style is sleek and eye catching. Appreciation of the bose system produces a great sound. It handles very well over the road. The automation of the seat adjustment and the back lumbar gives you a more relaxed experience while driving. During the colder days to be able to heat the leather is rewarding.
Before I go into my review...I should have known! I am the sucker! GM has a great marketing Dept. Years ago, my dad owned a 2000 Seville DHS Sedan. It had major issues with door actuators and ignition key jamming. Cadillac of Troy charged my dad big money to fix. It never got fixed. I remember the ignition key jamming a week before we sold that car after dad passed away. Our mom had a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado STS 2 door coupe. She hated that car and sold it. Said it was a piece of junk. So after both our parents pass away, what do I do??? I buy me a 2010 Cadillac SRX Performance Edition AWD. A week after I bought it, it rained real hard. I had swimming pools in the driver’s side and passengers side. I bought it used BTW. Researched roof leaks to find out 300,000 of these had the same issuer and there was an ongoing class action suit by people vs the state of California. Didnt help me, I am in Michigan. After I hollered lemon law, the used car dealer finally goes ahead and fixes the roof leak. Took them two months. I get the vehicle back and check engine light goes on. I have a P0017 code, possible bad timing chain. Finally after crying for 4 months, I get the warranty people (GWC Warranty) to finally fix my timing chain. WoooHhhooo!!! Dont get your hopes up too soon, for a week later, I have a P2135 code. Cadillac forums tells me I have a bad TPS sensor, but its better to replace the throttle body for its all built in. I do that.Three days after new throttle body I get a P0442 code. Possible bad purge valve solenoid sensor. Replaced that too. Did it myself. Got the parts online from BOSCH. Didnt feel like renting another car for a week while the warranty people Fixed my Cadillac. A week later I have a P0455 code, EVAP large leak detected. Now I have an appointment with Suburban Cadillac of Ann Arbor tomorrow 11/15/18 for them to run a smoke test to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with my Cadillac. Not fixing it. Mind you just the test, hopefully I go from there. Praying the good Lord shines luck my wait and the darn thing runs trouble and worry free for 1 year. For paying $13,999 USD with a service warranty putting it at $16,000 I was hoping for better reliability than this.
I have a 2009 Cadillac CTS. Problems with overly excessive oil consumption and timing chain tensioners making clacking noise on start up. No help from dealership or Cadillac for helping with repairs! I brought car in at 48k 2 months past 5 yr. warranty.
Really love everything about this Caddi. So much room. Drives beautifully. Handles the snow amazingly. All the extras pamper you while your drive/ride. Extremely happy we bought this. Great family car! The only downsides... gas mileage could be better and cost/difficulty of repairs. It is pricier to fix, which is understandable... but it is also trickier than other vehicles weve owned. Everything takes much longer and therefore costs even more. Still wouldnt trade it though!
Back in 1996 I bought the most beautiful Concours Cadillac, fully loaded brand new. After warranty went off the car started giving me problems. We have taken it GM Cadillac repairs, they drove it on streets and the same thing happened to them. Car stopped running. They saw it about 3 times and never found the problem. Now GM recalled many cadillacs with the same problem. How do I write the Big GM company. They are claiming 2015 have starter problem & I believe mine is too. What should I do. I want to keep it, I love it.
My 1999 Cadillac Seville STS Touring has a beautiful design, ergonomic lumbar support air bladders and heated vibrating massage front seats. It also has great mileage, powerful acceleration on demand, a Bose gold 400 watt 8 speaker stereo with wonderful frequency response, leather interior, good soundproofing and smooth ride!
2003 cadillac deville - This car is a lemon. I have this car in the auto shop so much they know my name. I have replaced windows, ignition, alternator, etc...... Now my dilemma is whether or not to rebuild the transmission 2200 and something else is wrong for 800 total of 3000 dollars. While I am making my decision I am driving my kids and I around in a 1996 Toyota Camry around. I will never buy a Cadillac again. They look good on the outside but are the ugliest things on the inside. I have not even had this car for 4 years.
My 2015 CTS had the Que radio go out 6 months ago. It went out again 2 weeks ago. Today they (it was on back order) replaced the radio. To my dismay as I leave the dealership and start driving I notice the display went out again. I called the service advisor and he’s trying to tell me that something is interfering w/ the power of the car. He says it had to be my radar detector. What a bunch of crap. He also said bring it in but if the radio is out again they will not replace it. What kinda crap is that.
I have a 2013 Cadillac ATS and my CUE has been replaced probably 10 times. There were a couple of times it was replaced over again in the same month. Of course my car is not under warranty anymore but shortly after the last replacement my warranty expired and only choice I had was to pay out of pocket. The cost is no less than $1200. Cadillac needs to have a lawsuit placed against them including all of their used to be loyal customers that are experiencing the CUE issue. I will never buy another Cadillac... GM has no integrity. I can’t even listen to music in my car now because I had my battery replaced which of course resets all of your settings so my radio just makes the static noise because I can’t touch the screen to put in on an actual station. I HATE CADILLAC.
My Cadillac is a goldish color and black and it has beautiful tires and the rims are gold as well. This car is one of the best cars I could possibly have. It has a child protection car seat and airbags and it stops when it senses a car wreck. The passenger capability is very good as well because it has a safe proof belt as in seatbelt because in case of an accident it actually holds everything down. Driving is very easy. The car is faster with the new oils and much safer and you can drive anywhere as possible as you want even in mountains and snow sometimes and rain. It is very amazing and I would suggest this car to anyone if possible.
Cadillac service WAS the best. My wife and I have had 8 in the last 20 years but ever since the big car company federal bailout they have turned into another cheap run penny pinching brand. I have always liked the styles and performance but their electronics just keep falling behind. The days of Cadillac great service are also gone. Sadly Im on my last one.
The Cadillac de Ville has a quiet motor sound while riding, it’s the best. I added snow tires and upgraded the seat covers to protect my leather. I also put in a wheel cover plus it has turn signals on the rear-view mirror. Its most distinct appearance are the headlights and the body features. The Cadillac Escalade is very nice for traveling with a passenger capacity of 8 adults. I travel with my 3 adult brothers and their wives, my sister and myself and we all fit.
Cadillac brings a excellent model. I had no problems with this car for a while because it was just so good of a car. A few distinct features that this car had was the interior. It was a perfect leather, very comfy to relax on and also the car was a very steady car. I painted my car from white to black just to make it look better because I liked the color. The passenger quality is phenomenal. Everyone who got in the car was very relaxed because the seats were perfect and no one gave a negative comment. Cadillac is a really good type of car to own.
GM Cadillac start to disintegrate at 55,000 miles. Not worth the money. No customer service. GM makes the worst cars and GM executive customer service is even worse than their cars. I will never buy a GM and my family and their families will know my disgusting experience with your GM vehicle and horrible staff especially the CEO of GM. NEVER PURCHASE A GM. Horribly manufactured with horrible customer service, if you can ever get a one the phone. My customer service on my Caddy was just horrible and the repair warranty was the worse. Plus, all inferior plastic parts in the Cadillac are disintegrating before my very eyes. And this a low mileage car that was very expensive but built with inferior materials. All glam and hype but no quality. NO MORE GM FOR ME, FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS.And one more thing, there has been a knocking in my engine from the day I drove it off the lot but somehow every time I took it in to have GM their mechanics always told me thats normal for this type of vehicle to have knocking in the engine. When I took my vehicle outside of GM to be looked at by Cadillac mechanics, I have been told that this was not normal for this Cadillac to be knocking all the time. I rest my case with GM and whoever is running GM. Plus the windshield was never put in properly. It is just a badly made vehicle with the brand name Cadillac. What a shame for such a classic. Horrible experience with GM dealership, GM customer service and tried to reach the CEO Mary.
Cadillac offers a variety of different appearances when it comes to its vehicles. They range from an everyday looking vehicle to standing out among all others. Models range from small compact size vehicles to luxurious SUVs to trucks. They are reliable and safe and have multiple different options to add on to your vehicle. They have numerous upgrades possible including but not limited to sunroof, tinted windows, surround sound, lifted vehicles, touch screen navigation/stereo system, built-in DVD player in back seats, and many more. They have LED lights that make them look brighter than other makes and models. As for standard features Cadillac offers more standard features than most other makers have. Navigation system comes standard in almost every vehicle. You can also personalize Cadillac in almost any way possible. Passenger capacity ranges from two passengers to as many as 8 passengers in the Cadillac Escalade. For the Escalade, it has a 3rd seat that is removable and can seat an additional three people. Anything youre looking for you can find at Cadillac.
I have owned my 2006 DTS for 3 years. I bought it used with 51,000 miles. It now has 142,000. The car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I love all of the luxury features such as automatic high beams, memory seats, remote start, and XM radio. I had a roomy trunk and quiet interior. It gets between 21 and 23 mpg pretty consistently on regular unleaded. What I dont like about it is how often it needs repairs. Around 70,000 miles, I had to have the entire front suspension system essentially rebuilt, as tie rods, ball joints, and struts were worn out. I developed several oil leaks, and I have stopped trying to get those fixed. Changing front turn signal bulbs and headlights requires the front bumper be removed. Parts seem expensive. I plan to keep it for another couple of years. I doubt that I will be replacing it with another Cadillac.
I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX with Navigation. It is a piece of trash. It doesnt place me within 1000 feet of my desired target and gives wrong messages as far as turning directions. I discussed the problem with the Cadillac District Rep and he said its as good as it gets. The Nav system is a $2400+ add-on. My advice? Dont buy a Cadillac. Their customer service stinks. I am among millions whose tax money went to a GM bailout. The company should have heavy-hitter legal action against them.
I have owned 5 Cadillacs in the past and have been driving them from 1996 on. The last GM vehicles a 2015 GMC Canyon (shifting issues, Recalls), 2017 GMC Sierra Denali HD Duramax (headliner rattle, faulty fuel cap, recalls,) and our 2014 Cadillac ATS (recalls, broken rims, rear differential vibration and leak, and now a shattered CUE Screen at 36971 miles. I am glad someone FORCES GM to fix the known safety issues through recalls, but the only recourse on the non safety GM KNOWN PROBLEMS is simply not to buy GM products. And as far as Cadillac goes, that recourse seems to be working as seen in the decline in Cadillac sales over the years. I just cannot understand who at GM is setting policy of not fixing known defects while at the same time advertise family and loyalty.
This is great, and reliable choice of vehicle. It may be expensive to buy new, but just buy it used at a good price, and you will be more than happy. Its fancy, and makes you feel good. Its silver, with nice trim, and good rims. Its also a smooth ride. The name brand says it all, its definitely a caddy. There is many different choices you can pick from when it comes to upgrades and whatnot, but mine was bought used, so it came with whatever. You can also fit a good amount of people in the car, and still is comfortable because its such a nice car. It just depends on how large the other passengers are. Its worth every penny.
Cadillac offers about 8 models, 2 crossovers and sedans. The car is easily recognized and you wont get it confused with other models. It has plenty of standard features and offers a lot of options such as all wheel drive and front wheel drive, special wheels, GPS, heated and cooled seats, accident avoidance and lane alert. Radio is very good and OnStar is great. Front seats have plenty of room but back seat is limited. Cargo space is good but rear seats fold and that you definitely have plenty of room. However, clearance for snow is poor and has a bad transmission. Would not recommend and Cadillac customer hotline is awful. They never respond and dont care.
My 2020 XT5 is fully equipped with every option available. I find everything easy to operate and very functional. Ive owned Mercedes and BMW, but overall prefer the XT5. Dont really care for the V6/V4 function...Creates a dragging vibration in the V4 mode. Understand Cadillac is going full electric in the near future, so no more Cadillacs for me. Youll be lucky to sell 5% of what you sell now. Only two dealers in my state are going to hang on...The rest have taken the buyout...That should tell you something. What are you thinking? Guess Ill go back to Mercedes. See ya...
I bought a new 2011 Escalade ESV. The rims are rusting and flaking, and the chrome trim package is rusting. Cadillac and the dealership’s response is that its from chemicals put on the road and its not their problem. My Escalade never is dirty. When I drive on snowy roads, its washed immediately. In 45 years of owning vehicles, Ive never had a vehicle with rust problems. I bought an $82,000 Escalade. I have rust issues and I have lived in snow country all my life so I know all about chemicals on the roads. This is my last Cadillac. Dont make the same mistake I did. Stay away from Cadillac. I thought that at least Cadillac would come back with an offer to replace rusting rims and trim at their cost or a discounted price. They made no attempt to rectify the problem. Cadillac customer service very poor and Cadillac is not concerned about your problems.
On October 22, 2018, the CUE system on my 2016 Cadillac SRX, serial #3GYFNCE35GS548248 malfunctioned. The car had approximately 30,000 miles on it when I took it in to Myrtle Beach Chevrolet-Cadillac, in Myrtle Beach, SC, for repair. After they began the repair, they observed that I had drilled a hole in the rear of the storage compartment which is below the CUE screen & informed me that warranty would not cover the repair because I had altered the unit. They were very nice, and I am aware they have rules to go by, but this hole touched no wire or circuit board. The malfunction was not due to the hole I drilled in no way, but it was a defect in the CUE unit. There are forums all over the internet discussing the problems that Cadillac is having with the CUE system. On October 22, 2018, I contacted Cadillac Customer Service and talked to Shenevia, who set up case **. She told me she would be back in touch with me in seven days with a decision. She called back approximately ever seven days, telling me a decision had not been made, and on November 15, 2018, she called and told me that Cadillac had denied the claim. I do not agree with their decision & I do not think it was a fair & honest, because the hole I drilled had nothing to do with the malfunction of the CUE system. It is common knowledge that the CUE system has been a problem since day one! If I had drilled into a wire or circuit board, I would not be writing this letter. I could understand if Cadillac had paid for the repair, but billed me Core Charge, but I feel it is not an HONEST decision for the claim to be denied. Cadillac is using a small technicality to avoid paying for their mistakes!I have been a GM person all my life and always respected their reputation, but this case makes me wonder. I owned a Chevrolet Dealership in North Myrtle Beach, SC from 1981 until 1991 & presently own a 2017 Corvette, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and a 2016 Cadillac SRX, and I am aware that my business is like a Pea in the ocean! Sometimes COMMON SENSE should be an exception to rule! I would really appreciate you reviewing my case again.
Shortly after buying a new 2013 ATS the CUE went blank and stopped working. Because it was under warranty the dealer replaced it. Not long after the warranty expired, the screen cracked looking like a spider web. It will not work to touch, it changes functions automatically and the Bluetooth wont stay connected! I loved my car and would have bought another Cadillac in a minute if this hadnt happened or if Cadillac would replace the using. Their lack of commitment to making it good has lost me as a loyal Cadillac owner. Im looking elsewhere for my next new car.
Cadillac had several models to choose from which made it nice. The salesman showed me every one of them. I appreciated the fact that he educated me on every single car I asked about. Cadillac has base models but they also offer the coolest upgrades in the automotive industry. They have more upgrades coming as well. All of the Cadillac cars are beautiful so it was easy to choose. I love the way all the models look and how all the features really stand out. Several of the models are roomy for passengers. They did their homework when it comes to being roomy.
On June 11th, I visited the Cadillac dealership and informed the repair rep. Marissa the issues I was having with my vehicle. These included my speedometer, my fog lights, and lastly my radio. When I picked up my vehicle after spending $1,100 ($400 in labor alone), it still was not functioning properly. I promptly informed Marissa that my speedometer was not working and she said to return, which I did. She left me with the impression there was no extra charge since it was not correctly repaired originally. How was this missed since it was placed on diagnostics? Nevertheless, I was charged an extra $100 in labor, inconvenienced and dissatisfied with the outcome and decided to meet with service manager, Mr. **, for a better result in regards to the labor. The only thing he could provide me was a provision for the future but nothing for now. He even informed me that the speedometer was a recall issue that I never received and he could not or would not rectify this either. I am a long time customer of this dealership and am insulted by the way I was treated.
Cadillac DHS 2003 - Just read a comment by an owner of a 2003 Cadillac and I wanted to respond with What are you doing with my car? I have had to replace the transmission, rack & pinion, numerous window regulators, A/C compressor etc and now the intake manifold gasket. One would think that after building cars for a hundred years, and the humiliation of putting (the once revered) Cadillac name on the Cimarron, that taking some pride in engineering components shouldnt be asking too much.
The 2015 Cadillac is nothing but a hot mess!! Ive dealt with headlights so dim I could not see to drive at night. After four tries, Cadillac Service finally figured out a fix. There were transmission issues: the car would hesitate when giving it the gas from a stopped or slowed position to the point it jerked you back in your seat. The battery completely died at 30,000 miles. The lift gate motor died at 32,000 miles because water from the sunroof drainage tubes literally soaked the motor, ($1800 fix). So, take my advice and just run as far away from this car as you can.
Hello. Just wanted to seek help from this frustrating issue Ive been having with my Cadillac 2013 SRX. I purchased my vehicle in 2016 from CARMAX a certified car dealer. I drove it for about a couple weeks to have the display QUEUE system to go completely black where the radio, navigation, heat and everything couldnt be accessed and my Liftgate trunk could not open!! Carmax was very helpful to reach out to Thornton Chevrolet in getting it taken care of which I had to wait awhile due to the Radio was on back order!! My frustration is that I was told that the Cadillacs sunroofs drainage tubes are draining in the area where the Liftgate module is housed causing the motherboard to burn up or fry once the water hit it!! I feel this should be a recall and have reached out to GM with no solution being its fried again and wont open with a musty damp smell!! I am allergic to mold and have respiratory issues and I pray this situation doesnt cause a flare!! All they quoted me is a price to reseal and change the Liftgate Module out again with no guarantee that it wont happen again and Im approaching the end of my warranty!!! I feel so sad and lost because I love my SRX. Just wish they could call a recall on these issues because theres so many negative reviews about these issues!! Last it wouldve been no different had I bought this vehicle from Cadillac vs Carmax so dont say this again please, yall made the dern vehicle!!!
We leased a Cadillac CTS V Sport in October of 2017. 42 month lease with available miles of 53K. We now have 11 months left on the lease. For the past 7 months the car has been in the service department 190 Days. Thats 6.2 months. It started out with somewhat minor issues. In April 24 thru May 3 of 2019 with 6449 miles on it (we had planned on buying the lease out so tried to keep the miles low) the Cue system needed replaced, all 4 tires needed replaced because of an alignment issue, rear tail assembly needed replaced, Internal failure of rear body structure stop lamp replaced. Then on November 25 2019 with 11629 miles it went back into the service department. Car needed a whole new engine, new turbo, fuel injectors plus so much more. Car just stopped. It was in the service dept for 68 days. Got it back January 31 2020. Went back into the shop February 24 2020 for 11 more days. Air conditioner went out of it. Got the car back March 5. On March 16th back into the shop for 75 more days. Had to rework the whole engine, replace both turbos this time plus so much more. Got the car back May 29 2020. Car went back into service June 5 2020 and is still there 20 days later. Needs 2 new tires and a new steering box because its showing aligned but it is shredding the tires. We have had a case open with Cadillac for quite some time. Asked them to take the car back in November 2019 when it needed a new engine. They said no. Asked again in March 2020 when it need the new engine reworked for 75 days. They said no. The car has now been in the service dept for 190 days in the last 7 months. We have had to continue making our monthly lease payments even though we have not had the car. We have 11 months left on the lease. Cadillac as of yesterday June 23 2020 still says we have to keep paying on the lease. They wont take the car back. Even though it obviously is a LEMON!Fair warning. DO NOT BUY CADILLAC. THEIR QUALITY IS TERRIBLE AND THEY WONT BACK THEIR PRODUCT! I have every invoice showing the repairs needed on a car that had 11600 miles on it. I would be happy to supply them. NEVER AGAIN! Its obvious by their actions that they do not care about anyone as a customer. They will milk us for the rest on this lease and then they will resale the car to someone when the car will have no warranty. They just care about the money!
I am a 75-year-old widow who has owned Cadillacs for 30+ years. On August 14, 2012, I rear-ended a truck pulling a trailer that was stopped at a stop light. I had severe front-end damage to my 2011 Cadillac DTS. I was wearing my seat belt; however, the air bag did not deploy. I hit and bent the steering wheel, which caused a severe concussion, five broken ribs, and facial lacerations. I was in intensive care and in the hospital for nine days. I then went to a rehabilitation center for 20 more days. I am now home, in pain, and walking with the aid of a walker. I would like an explanation for why I purchased an expensive car to get me where I needed to go and keep me safe if the main safety mechanism wouldnt work. I will never again sit behind the wheel of a Cadillac and I will encourage others not to as well.
My 2015 Cadillac CTS CUE touchscreen freezes up (no response), blinks on and off and needs to be repaired. I see hundreds of people have this same problem. GM needs to address this problem with a recall. I see the CUE system is no longer produced (go figure). I plan to address this issue with MANY social media sites to force GM to listen to those of us who have this issue.
At 52,000 miles my computer screen on my 2014 SRX frozen up effectively paralyzing my ability to direct my cars operations. The new radio will cost 1,500.00 and is back-ordered for months. It seems to me, that this problem is prevalent and reflects a design flaw issue. This is the last Cadillac I will purchase.
My 2012 Cadillac CTS had steering problems, steering wheel locked while driving and engine was running! The local dealer checked the car and said there is nothing wrong with it since no error codes exist upon inspection! Safety issue + bad dealer = killing machine.
There are lots of Cadillac models. However I was only shown large models and SUVs. There was a nice large car, a few Coupes and the Escalade, which is an SUV and what I choose. There were some models with wi-fi and rear mounted cameras so that a person can see whats behind them as they back up. There were some with GPS and SiriusXM satellite radio, leather interior and natural wood grain panels. Then I was able upgrade to get a more durable stitching so that the seats would last longer, a rear facing camera, wi-fi and an extra row of seats in the back that is removable. The original model was capable of seating 6 comfortably. I opted for the removable back row because I shop at Sams and usually need the extra room.
I have been really happy with this car make and model (Cadillac SRX). Performance is wonderful, it is great on fuel economy and the price we got it for is superb. Also, the body style is sleek and modern and is a very pretty car that drives like a luxury Sedan more so than a Crossover vehicle. However, since purchasing there have been a few minor maintenance hiccups. Nevertheless, I love this car the most of all cars I have ever owned.
I have had the brakes worked on 3 different times in less then 2 years. The dealer has worked hard but brakes still make noise. The seats are so uncomfortable. Because of it I would never buy another Cadillac SRX or any other if the seats are the same.
Do not ever buy a Cadillac. I am on my second SRX, the first was totaled and was the standard model 2011. I upgraded to a 2015 and was excited about the luxury features. Heritage Cadillac in Cobb County sold me a vehicle with a frozen CUE screen and luckily I caught it and they replaced it immediately the day after I drove it off the lot. Then I slowly realized my headlights werent working properly over the following months. They seemed too dim but they were on. Finally after the second time somebody almost hit me at night I knew something was amiss. I googled and sure enough, lawsuits and complaints! I will never buy another GM car and I am beyond disgusted that a dealership would knowingly sell me a car with faulty parts without disclosing the information beforehand! I cannot WAIT to get in on this headlight class action lawsuit! Buyer Beware! Once GM agrees to pay for these lights Im getting them fixed and trading it in for a Mercedes!
Cadillac has the Escalade for those who like the extra room. They have the XT5 Crossover for those who want room, class, and style. They also have the coupe for those who is responsible but also having a fun side. Smart with the body shape. Sharp with the wheels and styling with the inside and outside looks. The car also include extra such as leather seats, a chrome grill, and tint on the window. The back is extra roomy. The passenger seat can both recline and go up and down. If you are tall, short, or big bone you can always adjust the seat to fit your size. You can get it how you want to. The only downside is the pricing. If you is willing to pay you can have a comfortable styling car. You can get a unique color. But Im very happy with choice.
Side sensors and associated hardness corrosion on a Cadillac XTS 2014. Totally unacceptable especially for a car driven in an area without rain and generally without moisture. The bill to replace them come up to about $2K. DO NOT BUY JUNK GM CARS. This is just the most recent problem I have. Shame on the company and their management for such poor quality. No wonder bankruptcy is looming.
I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS in November 2012 and it has been in the shop twice since I purchased the vehicle. The first time was for four (4) days and the second time for 11 days. The service department has informed me on both occasions that they found the problem and are fixing it, but this time what they thought was the problem and fixed was not the problem. They got another part in hopes of resolving the situation.
I really like this brand because of how many vehicles there are. It looks amazing, slender and well built. I like all of the features this brand has. There are a lot of upgrades for this brand and I can make it one of the coolest cars ever. I can personalize it any way I can. It can fit a lot of people in this car, my entire family. I just love this brand of car for its passenger capacity.
I purchased a brand new Caddilac ATS in Sept 2014. In only 13months now, its been back to the dealer 7 times for vehicle problems. 3 times were recalls of which there was a recall on the recall!! Since Sept 2015 there has been a HORRIBLE EXTREME ODOR coming from the heating/air system. Called GM several times, after 5 calls Im still waiting for a callback to resolve this problem of a HORRIBLE smell thats making me sick!!! At this point, Im going to hire an attorney!!! GM NEEDS TO BUY THIS CAR BACK!!!
We have a 2014 Cadillac SRX... One of the key fobs went bad. Called our Cadillac dealership (Sunset Cadillac) and was told the cost was $200+.. Took the car in and they said it would have to be programmed, still no mention of extra charge for programming. Got the bill and the total was $447.74. Was not told the programming was extra!! $155.00 for programming. $35.00 for miscellaneous charge. We could have bought a fob off eBay for $32.00 and had it programmed for the $155.00 and been a whole lot cheaper! But since we thought Cadillac’s pricing included programming we didn’t go this route. I called the dealership the same day and vented my frustration, to no avail. On top of that they kept our old fob, which we were going to keep for the key. Not happy customers. We are in the market for a new vehicle, it will not be a Cadillac...
I bought a 2007 Cadillac CTS in January 2013. It was a one owner garage kept gem. I thought. It wasnt a few months later that we had it in the shop for a catalytic converter replacement. With only 55,000 miles on it! Then we discovered that the trunk was full of water below the spare tire! What the heck? This is a Cadillac! Not an economy car! My family has had Cadillacs for generations and never had any problems. I thought it may just be my luck but when I went online I found out that I wasnt alone. Cadillac is losing a lot of customers and Im one. Today we took it to the shop to have a flickering headlight checked and we were told it would cost over $500 to have it fixed! This isnt the Cadillac I grew up around and I PROMISE its getting traded off soon and Ill NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN. DISGUSTING!
Defects in car that I bought that was not disclosed to me - I’m speaking with you about a 2001 Cadillac at Naperville Auto and Cycle Outlet (NAC Outlet) at 1560 W. Ogden Ave, Suite #300 (Highway 34) in Naperville, IL, 60540-3998, phone number 847-329-0021, Dealer # 2698. On Monday August 6, 2012, my wife and I were told by the salesman that the 2001 Cadillac was one of their Certified Cars. He said that not all of their cars were certified. ** told us that meant that their mechanics had gone over the car and determined that it was in excellent mechanical condition. While test-driving the car, an indicator on the instrument panel displayed that the oil was at 87%. When brought to his attention, ** promised to have the oil changed and told my wife and I that they used only synthetic oil in the Cadillac (it was later proven not to be synthetic oil); and that if we had any more problems with the car, to let him know and he would take care of it. ** (the salesman) also told us that the car had Bluetooth, which I later discovered it does not have. ** also told us that the car had an active OnStar system. I later discovered that cars made before 2005 have an analog system, which means that I would have to purchase a $1,700.00 digital upgrade in order for the OnStar system to function. On our trip back to Fayetteville, TN, after stopping at the 3rd Toll station in IL, the indicator on the instrument panel came on again displaying 87% oil. This time the indicator went off as soon as we started moving and did not come back on again during the rest of the trip home. A few days later, I flew out to Phoenix, AZ to volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 8 days. I had only driven the car a few days after that 13-hour drive back home from Naperville, IL. I returned home August 27, 2012. My wife told me that the oil light was illuminated again, as well as the check coolant light has displayed in the instrument panel, and that she had noticed a puddle under the Car.I immediately took the car to the Express Oil Change, where I have all my oil change. The cars oil indicator was at 87% oil and the check coolant indicator had come up on the instrument panel - after only 1,200 miles of driving the car, most of which was from the drive home from Naperville, IL to Fayetteville, TN. I asked the Express Oil Change mechanic to check the oil and coolant. They told me that the oil stick was dry and that the car had only 3 quarts of oil in it (the car takes 7 quarts). The mechanic told me that the engine was burning up. He then recommended that I park the car and not drive it. He told me that the car was dangerous and that I was lucky that it had not blown up. They captured the 3 quarts of oil and told me it was regular oil and not synthetic oil as I was told by the salesman, ** at the NAC Outlet. I then called the dealership and spoke to **. He told me to take the car to a mechanic and have their mechanic talk to his mechanic, so they could talk technical terms because it was all Greek to him because he was not a mechanic. I took the car that day to the local GM dealer, Carriage Chevrolet. They put the car on the rack and saw that there was an extreme amount of oil leaking from both head gasket covers, the oil pan and the oil sensor, as well as coolant leaking. A puddle of coolant had leaked onto the ground after only 4 to 5 minutes on the rack. After an exterior check of the engine, the GM mechanic stated that this was an ongoing problem because the coolant as well as the oil had turned to a thick grease type material. I was also informed of a 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines on August 27, 2004, where the motor was required to be pulled and numerous gaskets, seals, bolts, cylinders, bushing, plates, alignment pins, spark plug tube seals, main seal, flywheel bolts, both head gaskets, rod bolts, and many more items needed to be replaced.I called ** at NAC Outlet and let him talk to the GM mechanic, as requested. The mechanic explained the problems they saw externally and informed ** of the 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines. ** got very angry with the mechanic and me, and hung up the phone on us. I called ** back on August 28, 2012. ** said this was out of his hands and I would have to talk to the sales manager. He said he would have ** call me. I called to talk with ** on August 30, 2012 at 3:00 pm (the time ** told me ** would be in) and was told ** was not there.I called back on August 31, 2012, and again was told ** was not there. I finally talked to ** at about 5:00 pm that afternoon. ** told me to call him back on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. When I did, I was told again that ** was not there. At that point (September 4, 2012), I called the Illinois State Attorney General’s office. They told me they would send me a form to file a complaint against the NAC Outlet, which I later received. I called NAC Outlet again on September 6, 2012, at 5:45 pm and was told that ** was at the regional headquarters of GM and having a meeting with his buddy about my problems with the 2001 Cadillac SLS that I had purchased from NAC Outlet. On September 7, 2012, ** told me to call Jennie in GM’s Customer Service at (678) 240-9885 on Friday (September 8, 2012). When I did, I spoke to Araba in Public Relations, who told me that Jennie had never worked in Customer Service, but that she was her assistant and would give the information to the Customer Care Department and I would hear from them by Monday, September 10, 2012. I received an email on September 10, 2012 from Wes, GM Southeast Customer Activities Manager, stating that unfortunately, they could not help me with this issues since the vehicle was purchased from a non-GM dealer and that GM would review my service concerns if I would provide them with the Cadillac vehicle number and a list of issues. I responded that same day and have yet to hear anything back from the GM regional headquarters in Naperville, IL.I again called ** at NAC Outlet on September 11. He said he was scheduled to have a meeting with the NAC Outlet owners at 3:00 pm on September 13, 2012, and for me to call him back at 4:45-5:00 pm that afternoon, and he would have a resolution for me, and that he did not lie! I phoned back at 5:15 pm per **’s request. ** told me that he had completely forgotten to talk to them, but that one of the NAC Outlet owners would be in at 10:00 am the next morning (September 14, 2012), and he would get him in his office as soon as he came in, and to call him at 10:15 am. I called back per **’s request at 10:15 am on September 14, 2012 and was told ** was outside and to call back in 5 minutes. I called back at 10:30 am and was told ** was in the bathroom and to give him a few minutes. I called back at 10:45 and talked with **. He said that it was a total surprise to the one owner, about my problems with the car. I asked to speak with the owner who was there. ** said he would turn the baton over to the owner and have him call me right back. After not hearing from either of them 2 hours later, I called back at 12:45 pm. **, the salesman, told me that ** and both of the NAC Outlet owners were in a meeting with both doors closed, a barrier up, the shades drawn, and had asked not to be disturbed. I called back at 2:50 pm. ** told me that ** had gone to a nearby town, an hour away, and would be back by 5:00 or 5:30 pm. I called back at 5:52 pm giving ** plenty of time to get back and was told by ** that ** had stopped for a glass of ice tea and had called him to say he would be about 25-30 minutes late. ** also told me that ** had put a note on his desk to call me as soon as he returned to the dealership. I called back at 6:46 pm and was told by the evening guy that ** had gone home for the day. He told me that there was a note on **’s desk to call me when he returned to the dealership (September 14, 2012), but ** was gone for the day, and that he had no way to get hold of **. I explained to him what had happened that day, and he told me that ** was scheduled to be in from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm the next day. I called back the next day (September 15, 2012) at 10:49 am and spoke to ** who told me that ** had not come in yet. Great looks, never had any mechanical problems, very comfortable. Most Cadillac models have wood grain interior, a sleek design, Bose stereo, all fully loaded options, great safety features, and is very comfortable to ride in. They also have touchscreen radio, touch screen GPS, DVD or Blu-ray players, chrome rims, sunroof, leather seats, heated or cooled seats, premium sound system, and back-up camera. Also, majority of the Cadillac models have ample leg room in the front seat, the back seat, and if its a SUV, in the 3rd row as well, seats are wide enough to comfortably seat 3 people without feeling cramped.
We bought this car used in 2013. For the most part, we have been satisfied with the car. Wish trunk was bigger. Mid 2014, begin to have problem with key getting stuck in the ignition and could not remove it. If I turned on and off several, would eventually come out. Had to be careful to make sure everything was turned off (radio, heater) or battery would be drained if left very long. Gas gauge would register empty. Received a recall in September 2014. Took in and they could not do anything because the key was stuck in the ignition and they could not get it out. Took in the next week and something was done the keys. The following week, the key again stuck after returning from grocery. Forgot to go back out and try to get out. The next morning, battery was drained, called for jump start. Could not jump. New battery purchased in November 2014. Had to have car towed to GM dealer on Friday. Had to call on Monday to see what status was. Nothing had been done. Electronic control module was replaced as no communication could be made with the car. Cost, $693.00. Was advised that there could be other issues that occur after this. Anyone know what these issues could be?
I have a 2013 Cadillac SRX. Right at 52k, my cue touchscreen started not working and then eventually stopped working altogether. Now I cant change the radio, pair my phone, control the AC, set the safety features on the car. Brought it to the Cadillac dealership, $150 diagnostic to tell me I need a radio control unit. First they say GM will offer some cost assistance. 7 weeks later the RCU is still on back order. After several complaints to Cadillac they say its the first that they heard of it. Yet there are so many back ordered because they are failing at an alarming rate. Cadillac stills holds the line that your warranty expired and you are on the hook. I hate Cadillac. I used to love the car and my Cadillac user experience sucks. Looking for an answer.
General Motors has extremely horrible cars. Now that I am reading their reviews, I am appalled and disgusted. I have a 2006 Cadillac CTS, my car has just reached 70,000 miles and now the timing chain needs to be replaced. I admit my car has been in an accident but I spoken to many professional mechanics, even ASE certified mechanics. And they stated even with the kind of accident the car had, it would not affect the timing chain. If the timing chain is worn, it is because the manufacturer. They stated to try to see if the manufacturer will try to give you a goodwill warranty because they are noticing a big trend of Cadillac CTS coming in with timing chain issues with low mileage. I called General Motors to see if they could do anything to help, and they said they will call the Cadillac dealership in my area. After basically harassing the dealership, calling them a million times, I finally went up there. The service advisor stated that GM will not do anything because my car has a salvaged title because it has been in a car accident. Thats a dumb ** reason and a pretty bad cover up if you ask me. So they told me to repair my car would be close to $3,000... Why on earth should I or would I pay that. General Motors is getting over on their customers and stealing their money and personally, I am not going to take this from them. I will be contacting a lawyer for them to conduct an investigation with General Motors because I know there are others with this same issue. They want to get people out of thousands of dollars. If I have to continually fight with General Motors for them to get a recall, I will spend several hours a day calling, emailing, and contacting whoever it is I need to contact. If they are going to continue to put out garbage cars, then they should go bankrupt. I believe if enough people come forward with their garbage GM made cars we can file a CIVIL case, and I wont stop until something is done. Either GM make a recall for timing chains in all Cadillac CTSs ... or they can face a lawsuit and end up in bankruptcy. Either way I will not stop until something is done. I would not recommend anyone buy a Cadillac or for that matter any GM car... let them go bankrupt and out of business. Save people their money. I will be consulting a lawyer no matter what the cost. General Motors is a get rich scheme and they will be stopped. Everyone involved and that has invested in General Motors will take a loss since their customers have to.
The seats on my 2013 XTS are very uncomfortable. Both my wife and I can’t ride more than 10 miles. The seats are too small, and we are not big people. I will not buy another Cadillac. They dont want to change the seats for more comfort. I have a 2005 Deville. Thank God for that car. If Cadillac would do something, I would be very happy. Otherwise, I will tell everyone about this car.
Exhaust noise: I bought a new 2012 CTS. When I get on it a little bit just before it shifts gears, it makes a sound that sounds like all the baffles in the muffler or cat is going to fall out. I took it my dealer, and they hear it also. They took another 2012 CTS, and it does the same thing. I got a case number from GM. They told me there was nothing they could do. I have had 5-6 people tell me that the car sounds like it is falling apart when I step on it. The dealer hears, and GM knows about it and will not do anything. What do I need to do to get some results? I did not buy a new $45,000.00 car to have something that sounds like it is falling apart. I am not bad-mouthing the dealer, they have done everything they can at this time. Have you heard of this? According to GM, all CTSs might do this? Im trying to find anyone who can tell GM how to fix this. Thank you.
Best luxury SUV dollar for dollar and safer to see traffic. Surprised at roomy front cabin. Love heads up display! Love the color blue and the white interior. Best New model and the best dealer, great car!
2011 Cadillac Escalade - My Cadillac will not run any faster than 79 mph. This is a real problem when passing other cars. The Cadillac has a gover on it. This is my 4th Cadillac. None of my others ever gave me any trouble. The mechanic at our dealership cannot fix it. They told me not to drive faster than 79 mph. I have 140 mph on the dash.
I bought a 2012 Cadillac SRX 9/26/2016, its my first Cadillac and I take pride in all my vehicles. Since having this vehicle, replaced alternator in November 2016 because it went bad (Figure that) $475.00 later. Now Im taking it to the dealer again for my manual lift-gate because I cant open from outside of vehicle. My mechanic said its a wiring problem because the rear defroster, rear wipers, license plate light and lift-gate light are not working. He would of fixed this but he doesnt work on very many Cadillacs. I even called Cadillac and they said it would be under powertrain warranty if it happened in 2016 or under 50,000 miles. I told them Im under 50,000 miles and I bought 9/2016. They said I would have to bite the bullet and get the electrical looked at. Customer service is below expectations even after finding out that the lift gates have been a problem for this year. Its hard to believe that so many customers have problems and nothing is resolved. The customer doesnt have a open checkbook to fix these problems that should of been a recall in the first place to correct any and all factory issues. Anyways thanks for reading.
Simply put, 4 cue systems replaced and we are now going on #5! GM you have lost a customer for life! Overpriced junk! Definitely do your homework with any Cadillac with the cue system. Had I done mine, I would never put myself through the aggravation. Also replaced headlight lens. Good luck!
I think the Cadillac is one of the most beautiful vehicles there is. They have a high class look and the interior is always immaculate. They are always one of the first to upgrade to the highest quality of merchandise and are always up to date. The technology is always high class and superb, and I am always happy with the newest gadgets they have. They offer a very good variety of cars and I was very happy when Cadillac started making bigger vehicles. I have a very big family and want to stay with the Cadillac brand but definitely needed the space. The only problem I had is my Cadillac caught on fire eight days after I had it.
What they had then and what they have now are different. A Cadillac no matter what model is a prime car at that time and very dependable. You cant go wrong with one. This was my 1st car in 1962. It had a sleek body style with sort of mud flaps called wings which clipped on the back tires. It had everything the cadillac had to offer. Radio, heat, air which was about it back then. The car had both a front and a back full bench seat that would ride 6 to 8, very comfortable and has plenty of leg room.
Cadillac goes the extra mile in making sure you get the most value for your car. Anytime I ask I get a return call, and ask if I need rental etc.. Cappellino Cadillac on Sheridan Dr. in Williamsville is great.
The engine had to be replaced with less than 95,000 miles. Perfect maintenance and multiple repairs.
I have owned Cadillacs my whole life, used to be a good car back in the day, Now I think they are made in China. In my yard I have now a 2001 DTS, a 2006 DTS, a 2008 DTS and my latest a 2013 SRX4. I bought this car at TnT moros in Lumberton NC with 77k miles, bought it on a Saturday in Feb and on Monday the cue went out. Since then it has started to spiderweb so you cannot even read it. I have been a loyal Cadillac owner for over 50 years but I am done now. I will start looking for an Acura. Anyone interested in my Cadillac collection, let me know. I will sell them all very cheap.
Unfortunately the 2011 excellent DTS Cadillac we owned was in a head on with a loose horse and my husband was killed and me suffering injuries for 3 years. Needless to say that Cadillac was totaled. It was my mother’s day gift from my love. To top that in 2 months I lost my only grand daughter and her 3 year old girl in a horrific wreck roll over auto accident where they drowned in the bayou of Louisiana. It was so devastating to where all I wanted to do was die. Then 2 weeks later lost 3 very long time best friends in weird tragic ways.Rented a car for 3 months then found this incredible awesome 2013 Cadillac XTS 4. Only 6,000 miles from previous owner. I was happy to say the sales rep got me through to the purchase and it was my Miracle Car. I have loved it with all my heart and had more compliments than ever on an auto from young kids to people so old they could hardly walk with their canes or walkers. It is an absolute beauty.BUT now... along with so, so many I found online with exact same problem, most threatening, suggesting or planning to file a class action suit, I too am so distraught because the CUE SYSTEM is OUT! It began (like most others) at the bottom level, then in short time, maybe 2 weeks, the entire system went out. NO navigation, no radio, no Sirius XM, which Ive paid a year in advance for. No car phone, no emergency contact info. The car was purchased as a luxury with all of this in it, but now it is NOT working! I suggested to the big online group to let’s ask Cadillac to do a RECALL since so many have or will have this same problem, trying to talk them out of a class action suit.I do NOT want to make a bad name for Cadillac as I LOVE the dealership, the SERVICE representatives and mechanics and the dept. Their services are the BEST ever! The salesman who sold it to me was the BEST ever. Im 77 so Ive purchased a lot of cars and dealt with a lot of salesmen! Will you PLEASE, PLEASE help me to get this CUE Infotainment Center replaced? I was told by dealership it would be a minimum of $1,200 and others were told up to $1,900.We are appalled that our warranties and extended warranties do not cover replacement and there is no fix for it. Warranties state that the only classification is RADIO and radio is not covered. Thanks for your help. Hopefully to assist me in pulling out of this deep depression and downhill slide with this all now happening on top of everything else. This system is really the only companionship I had when traveling alone.
My son graduated from college last month and was lucky enough to find a job prior to graduating. He bought his first nice car, a beautiful 2005 STS Cadillac. We noticed that the car was burning oil. In 4,000 miles, the car went through 7 quarts of oil which is unbelievable for a car with 62,000 miles and had been serviced 36 times by Cadillac dealerships according to the faux report. The dealership tells us that the car needs new pistons and rings. The cost is $3,500 to fix the vehicle. When we bought the car, it had a $1,500 guarantee if there were any problems with the car. They do this on different brands of used cars. I emailed GM Cadillac division and received an email that they were happy to help and would contact us the next day which they did. I explained to them that there has been multiple complaints about that model and that this was a defect and I would hope they could help my son with the cost of the overhaul. The second person I talked to told me that the most they could help was the $1,500 from the dealership like they were involved which this was already offered from the lot where we bought the car. I then asked for the supervisor whose name is Roy. I told him that I have never heard of a car with 66,000 miles going through 7 quarts of oil in 4,000 miles and especially a high-end car. The bottom line is he said there’s nothing he could do about it. I realized that there is probably nothing that can be done but I am in customer service for a large company and cant believe that they offered no help especially with social media nowadays.
I have a 2015 Cadillac CTS and it’s been nothing but problems once I passed 65,000. The rear differential began to go out around this time. Also the CUE in dash screen began to crack internally around 74,000 miles. Both are very expensive items to replace. Cadillac only offered to pay for 40% of my differential repairs even though the differential began to go out under warranty. Also the CUE screen is no longer under warranty. This is my first car where I need to have 2 major repairs and the car is under 100,000 miles. SMH.
My Cadillac has been a large amount of annoyance due to constant breakdowns due to poor quality and dealer service. As a Senior Citizen I would not recommend this automobile to anyone as it is not dependable and most likely will get you to your destination. I have written Cadillac Motors, I have called them, the go ho-hum and go back to screw another customer. Walmart has much better customer service. My case number is **.
Very nice designed car but the radio is a joke. Will not respond to anything and the kicker of all of this is there is no available aftermarket radio out so general motors makes another 1200 of you just to have a radio. Guess next car gonna be a Ford. So disappointed...
They have a lot of different quality cars to choose from and different looks and quality. I would be more than happy to choose from them again. They have sedans that range from mid class to upper class and they have SUVs that range the same. Their passenger capacity is great. Most their vehicles have at least room for 3-4 in the back, 1 in the front with lots of room so they can be comfortable. Most if not all their cars have upgrade options to choose from and different engine to choose from. Their interior options are very good too.
It was a decent car I brought and I pretty much like all of Cadillacs types of cars, although the one I brought broke down somehow. I am fixing it but I still am satisfied. It is one of the best cars out there. It was so shiny and new with a beige or tan color and a nice wood interior by the windows. It was just the perfect design for me. I havent gotten any upgrades yet but I could possibly upgrade the car or personalize it but I am satisfied with the upgrade options. I am happy about how much room the car offers wherein I could fit all three of my children in the car with a guest in the passengers seat without any worries.
First, I will start by saying that I LOVE my car...and this has been my 3rd Cadillac that I have owned...but I guarantee that it will be my LAST! I have a 2013 Cadillac ATS and as of last August (2017), the CUE System stopped responding to touch on the screen. Therefore, like thousands of others out there...I am unable to use the airflow controls (feet, face, etc) as well as the Navigation because you have to confirm your location ON THE SCREEN which will not work! Of course this conveniently stopped working just after the warranty expired on the vehicle. Of course the only option is to have the CUE system/screen replaced at a lovely price of $1,200-$1,500 and that alone is not a guaranteed fix. I have seen so many comments from other owners who have replaced this 2-3 times for it to only continue to FAIL!!! There are thousands of vehicles out there with this exact same issue yet GM has done absolutely nothing!!! Youre a huge corporation... Stand behind it, take care of the problem and maybe you will retain your loyal consumers. Do nothing and you will inevitably lose them.
STS rear wheel drive - In 2005, the tires wear on the inside as though it is out of line or something. The alignment center said there is no adjustment on the rear and they even called the Cadillac dealer to see if there was a fix. The tires were rotated so all 4 wear out in 30,000 miles? Anyone who has an answer to this?
There are many variations of Cadillac and all of them are premier cars. They are very comfortable to ride in. The car that we own is bright red and it has several added options such as heated seats in the front and the back, a heated steering wheel and back-up sensors. It has a sun roof and a CD player. It has the ability to save the settings for the seat and the pedals for up to two people. Also it has push button start. It has a large interior and has room for two people in the front and three people in the backseat with enough room to be comfortable.
Cadillac has all ranges of models to a two door convertible to a best in class full size SUV. The quality is also maintained throughout their lineup. The interior and external design are best in class. They are at the top in their SUV line, and their cars are beginning to compete with the Germans Cadillac has a wide variety of personalized options from color to entertainment to overall upgrades, even though their base models are excellent. Also, every model of car or SUV are as spacious as any competitor. They tend to run big without compromising on style and performance. It seems at least 10% more roomy than our former Expedition.
2014 Cadillac CTS trunk issue - Trunk doesnt open at random times. Dealer in Vero Beach, Fl has been unable to solve the issue. I cant trust the car. Would never buy another Cadillac. Two times I was unable to retrieve my golf clubs and unable to play and missed my tee times. I will never put groceries in the trunk.
Cadillac offers good and quite a few like vans, cars, suv and lots more. I like all of them. They are all great price and great design. I like the leather they use and the colors even like the textures. But they do need a few more updates, like cd updates. I am just ready for like video cd to play on the GPS too. But it was great experience. I really like big cars to fit more people. I need to fit at least 8 people and have space for more stuff on the back of my car trunk, big boxes too.
I have a 2008 XLR with 2 years warranty outstanding. The nav system has been replaced 3 times in 22K miles. Now it does not work because it needs a new east coast disc. The discs are on national backorder, which means that Cadillac has no idea when, if ever, new discs will be available. GM has no control over its vendors is a direct quote from a head office representative (number and name available on request). I believe that Cadillac knew in 2008 that there would be no replacements since they stopped offering 2 yearly disc updates in the sale price of the vehicle. I was offered 300 minutes of On Star or 2 years of free oil changes, but would still leave me without a nav system. Can anyone swap an east coast disc for an unused west coast disc? Good luck with that was the response to the suggestion that a class action suit might get a better response. Ive had Caddies for the last 40 years. What will I get next? A BMW, a Lexus or even a Lincoln?
There is a saying that “car salesmen are the worst people in the world”. Now that may not be true for all of them, but that saying runs true for the salesmen at Delaware Cadillac. I will try to make this as short as possible, but I wish would have read something like this before I did business with that devil dealership. I had an ATS and made the mistake of leasing the vehicle its first year out. It was nothing but problems, so with 6 months left on the lease Michael ** at the dealership said he would get me out of lease and into a new one. I did not want to do this, but the tires were shot on my original ATS so I caved in. Now that being said, all I asked for on the new vehicle was normal non garbage run flat tires. Well I did not find out until a year into the lease that ** gave me a vehicle with run flat tires. When I called to discuss this he said “it was a mistake in the paperwork and I could bring the car there (an hour away) and they would fix it. He wouldn’t send me to my local dealership because they save money on the parts. I also had the cue system break and it took almost the entire summer to get the part in and working again, so basically went the whole summer without air conditioning. Lastly ** tried to get me when I turned the piece of ** car in. The vehicle came with 4500 miles on it and I was allotted 15k a year. ** explained to me that I could turn the car in and the original 4500 miles wouldn’t count. Well when I turned the car in the evil devil piece of ** Mike sent me a bill for $700 of over mileage charges. I had to get a lawyer involved and General Motors ended up seeing it was a scam and I did not have to pay, yet they wonder why people go crazy. I have waited almost 5 years to write this review, karma will come around and get ** back, I hope he starves but this review is a start. If I can stop at least one person from buying or leasing from this dealership then I have done my job.
I bought my Cadillac CTS almost exactly one year ago. I was driving home from work last week and I had numerous alarms go off. Only had 1st gear and no power at all. The display showed traction control malfunction, and I pulled over right away. The car went straight to the local GM dealership. The service writer told me it could be a number of things and he would have a tech look at it. Gave me a ride home, no loaners. He called back that afternoon and told me the problem was the transmission module and solenoid, pulled pan and replace parts, fluid, and filter. $1500.00! I couldnt believe it, I told him the car only has 82000 miles on it and the transmission was just serviced at 70000 miles, maintenance. I am going to ask for the old part back and somehow come up with the $1500.00.
In February 2018 I bought a used 2006 Cadillac CTS with 78314 miles on it. Had it 2 days and cylinder 1 started missing, took it back and they repaired the problem. No cost to me. On April 1st Easter Sunday I was driving to my familys home in Rosedale MD about 50 miles from my home. About 23 miles into the trip I looked in the rearview mirror and saw nothing but white smoke so I pulled over to the shoulder of a busy highway. Once I stopped the car, turned it off and popped the hood I saw fluid pouring out of the bottom of the car. Started the car back up to move it further in from the line of traffic but when I put it in gear it wouldnt move, turns out the fluid was Transmission fluid. Waited 3 1/2 hours for a tow and never made it to Easter Dinner. The next day I was contacted by the service station to tell me the transmission line going to the cooling radiator unit had blown and both the radiator and line needed replaced and that was gonna cost $850. So within 2 months car has been out of service twice. Not happy with Cadillac at this point as they will not stand behind any of their flaws in their cars. You would think a high quality name like Cadillac would want to keep their reputation good. I guess my next high quality vehicle will be either Lexus or BMW. Sad Cadillac doesnt have better management who cares about their reputation instead of them just getting a fat paycheck. Cadillac its time to rethink your corporate structure!!!
Beware New Purchasers for GM Manufacturing of Cadillacs. We purchased our new CT5 in 2020. Our brakes started squealing from day one after driving it off the lot. Going on 2 years now and the brakes on the car continue to squeak so loud it is irritating! We sound like we are driving a school bus and it is so embarrassing as people stare at us everyday. We have taken it to the FWB dealership 3 times and each time we’re told cannot duplicate. The last time I brought videos and FWB did submit them to Cadillac customer care and the engineer stated it was normal operations? The reason it is normal is because GM has changed the composite material to save money on brake pads. Now you get squeaking brakes with your new car purchase!I contacted Cadillac customer care and was advised to get a second opinion. I took the car to the Pensacola dealer and got the same result and explanation. We know it is not the dealers fault that GM will not support their product! Nevertheless, the service departments are taking the negative hit for GM’s lack of customer satisfaction. Only after I would not give high marks did I start receiving calls from Cadillac pretending to care and gathering the same information time and time again with the promise of a call from a supervisor. The call never came! I certainly did not want to post this but GM simply does not care about the purchaser of their product once you have purchased. I have driven GM autos for 43 years but never again after this. All I want is my brakes to stop squeaking and GM is too cheap to even allow a replacement set to be put on. Maybe because squeaking breaks are now normal operations for GM autos now as stated by the GM engineer. I say replace them and let’s see. But again I am just your average car buyer not anyone with influence to be treated fairly by GM.
Leased a 2014 Cadillac in November of 2014. Had no issues with the car up until March of 2016, when use of the air conditioner resulted in a strong musty odor being blown in my face. Took the vehicle to the local Cadillac dealership, Holman Cadillac, in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where I was told the musty odor was a result of mold development on the air conditioning evaporator. After treatment at HOLMAN Cadillac with some type of chemical they used, the vehicle was left reeking of a strong chemical odor. Holman service personnel told me the odor was not harmful, and would dissipate in a few days, but it did not. Six days later with the first use of the air conditioner I ended up at the emergency room after coughing and spitting up blood with use of the vehicle. Holman has denied that there is any chemical odor in the vehicle whatsoever, in spite of a GM inspector, an industrial hygienist, and another Cadillac service manager confirming the chemical odor. GM has refused to allow any Cadillac dealership to do warranty work on the 11,000 mile vehicle, as one can only presume they are concerned about possible litigation due to their defective vehicle. At this point, I have a vehicle with no HVAC system, and I am forced to drive in hundred plus degree weather with NO A/C, and in downpours with the windows open due to NO DEFROSTER. Nobody at HOLMAN Cadillac or at GM could care less if I live or die, as I have now been HOSPITALIZED a second time after an attempt to use the AC with the windows down as temperatures reached 95 degrees. I am now forced to go buy another vehicle just to go to work, as it is unsafe to drive the Cadillac. I hope that someone can benefit from what Im typing here as I had to type it four times.
They have all different types of vehicles for different types of people and families. They have the newest features. Everything that makes your commuting more comfortable and easy and the best way to make your car feel like home or office. Upgrades are available to personalize a vehicle to your preferences. If there is a feature you dont need you dont have to have it and make your vehicle more affordable. I have a large family so its important to me to have enough space for everybody and everybodys belongings. My vehicle had enough space for my daughters wheelchair.
93 Cadillac Seville STS had anti theft device replaced complete with towing 3 times. After it was replaced to dealer at my expense to correct problem still have issue and dealer advised to have car towed again at my expense, My mom is 84 years old. I feel dealership is looking at dollars instead of service. Totally disgusted with Cadillac brand.
I purchased a new 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe in July 2013. A week after purchasing the car, I noticed a popping sound when I put the car in reverse and turned the wheels. The dealership determined that the rear differential must be replaced. They replaced rear differential and 2 month later, the right rear differential seals were leaking fluid. Car returned to dealer for this repair. I have since contacted an attorney to pursue a buyback from Cadillac under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The right side weather stripping/molding had to be replaced as it would not seal completely and water would enter my vehicle when it rains or when at the car wash. Cadillac says this does not qualify as a defect therefore they are only willing to grant a minimal goodwill cash offer. Cadillac/General Motors is pathetic.
Its no big surprise that the 3.6 liter is one of the biggest turds in the industry. Another piece of European junk passed off as an American product. Ive been an auto tech for 20 years now and it hurts my heart to see what Cadillac has become. Im not the typical retiree caddy driver either, in fact Im not even 40 yet, but Ive loved Cadillac since I can remember. My dad had a 77 Eldorado when I was a kid and I absolutely loved that car. I know people like to crap on the Northstar, but Ive found that when taken care of, theyre incredibly reliable. I bought an 02 Deville back in 2012 when my son was born. It had 48k on it, and I drove it another 40k without any engine problems at all. Then a couple weeks ago some jerk decided to run a red light and total it out. During my 4 years, the only things I did were a couple wheel bearings, window regulators, a fuel level sensor and a intermediate steering shaft. That car was dead nuts reliable and never gave me a major problem. Now I will say that the 4.6 does not like to be overheated, and it does like to leak oil at the pan gasket. In one of GMs more head up the butt engineering feats, they ran the exhaust directly under the oil pan, so theres no way to drop the pan without engine removal...Brilliant. Now I would recommend the 2000-2005 Devilles because compared to other caddys, theyre inexpensive to fix. After 2005, forget it. Youre talking $1,200 headlight assemblies, bumper removal to change a headlight, cheap peanut brittle dashboard material, a fail prone drive-by-wire throttle system and a slew of TPM issues. Id never buy one. Id also never buy any GM vehicle with the Opel 3.6 liter. Its built in hell, by Satan and his minions. The Camaro also has it...Barf. Any of the newer caddys are electrical nightmares, and theres just something about a turbo charged, 4 banger in a Cadillac that doesnt sit well with me. Cadillacs need a big old V8. I cant justify over $80,000 for a motor thats also in all GMs rental car fodder. Cadillac is no longer the cadillac old timers remember. Theyre trying to compete with BMW and Mercedes, and now theyve succeeded because their products are just as crappy. As a final thought: I loved my Cadillac to death, BUT when I couldnt find another one that was clean enough and not beat to heck, I bought a 2000 Jag XJ8 Vanden Plas with 36k on the clock. What a difference, makes my Cadillacs interior look like and old 80s Mazda. I realized then that for a $60,000 luxury car, the interior was really built like garbage. But overall I did love that car, and I was sad to see her go. I feel for all of you experiencing hatefulness and bad luck with your 3.6s. I tell anyone thinking of buying one to just forget it.
Purchased new car off showroom floor on Jan. 6th. Returned car to dealer on Jan. 9th. Dealer sent car to body shop for the following: Rear passenger door, passenger door, left front fender and bumper are all out of alignment. Comparing drivers side to passenger side, passenger side doors sag and gaps between trim and body lines clearly are misaligned. Cadillac quality control missed this or sent in on anyway. Customer service center declined to become involved past calling the dealership. Dealership isnt the problem, Cadillac quality is the problem. That new car smell will now be replaced with that body shop and paint and dust smell all for $52k. We have owned Mercedes for the last ten years and thought we would go American. Disappointed a company 1/3 owned by the tax payers take no responsibility for their product.
2014 Cadillac XTS4. Owning this car has been a nightmare. I have had constant problems with the CUE system and the suspension. It’s ridiculous that GM and their dealerships know that there is a problem with these vehicles but want us as owners to foot the bill for their craftsmanship.
2006 CTS - This is the very first Cadillac I have ever own. Nothing problems with this car. The transmission coolant lines blew out of the radiator causing transmission fluid to shoot over the road and white smoke came back. This car is a disaster and everything falls apart - the rear differential bushing excellent quick.
I bought a brand new Cadillac CT6 in 2017. After 2 years of use, I noticed the wheels had some spots that resulted to be paint peeling off of the wheels. It took multiple visits to the dealership to open a report and get the warranty claim started since service technicians did not know how to properly open a warranty claim. After more than 2 months of continuous visits to the dealership, GM finally answered that they would not replace the wheels due to warranty expiration. Poor warranty support on a car of more than $50k tag price. Not buying Cadillac again.
Bought a Cadillac XT5 in December. Been in the shop 4 times for the same problem. According to the dealer theres no fix available till sometime in May. The vehicle falls under the Missouri lemon law. Dealership trying its best to help us. District manager/gm being difficult to deal with. Called owner assistance. Now we wait. Worst car we ever bought. Wife afraid to drive it. Please note this is the 3rd caddy we have owned and our last one ever...
Love my car but hate the radio or cue system. From the first year we bought this car the screen on the radio would freeze up. But after a day or so it would be ok again. Not sure why it would work again but happy it was working. Then this past month it froze up and we have tried everything to fix it. Just called the local Cadillac dealer and they said it is common but my warranty is out and it could cost anywhere between 1500.00-2200.00, yikes!!! There should be a recall on this radio system because I have read many reviews this past month while trying to figure out why mine wasnt working.
I am very pleased overall with the Cadillac that I purchased a few months ago. This car is smooth on the road and there are many choices to choose from. I chose a gold Cadillac and the capacity of the car allows you to carry 3 or 4 passengers. The cars interior was very nice and the hubcaps on the car are very appealing to ones eye. The steering wheel is very nice to grab, as well. The car is even better if you decide to upgrade the cars interior and paint.
I bought a 2007 Cadillac CTS about 3 years ago and the car only have 51,000 miles right now and is in the dealer getting a major repair because half of the motor has no compression. The car had no oil but the engine light never turned on to let me know. And once the car stopped running, that was when the engine light finally turned on. I really dont know what good is to complain if I am not going to get the repair for free but, it would be nice if all these complaints about Cadillac go public on national television. The government bailed out GM with the tax payer money and they are still screwing up. That car was my dream car and now, its my nightmare car. I will never buy a Cadillac again.
Cadillac is a very classic and sleek car. Its very smooth to drive and really the safest car I ever bought. These car are always roomy and its great for large families. You never feel squished and uncomfortable and never have to go to a rest stop to stretch your legs. Its always a relaxed drive. I also like the inside and stereo. You are able to customize your car as they have many option available for you to choose from which is great way to express yourself. I love the brand. Its not as pricey as other cars and I cant recommended it enough.
I have called dealers in my area, I have taken my SRX to the dealer and they cant find an issue and dont know of any recalls. If you drive an SRX at night you will experience the issue of NO LIGHTS on the dim option. I depend on the oncoming traffics headlights for me to see!!!! And Cadillac says thats my out of pocket expense, of course. They got their money and could care less about you so buying a caddy is just like buying another car when it comes to service. It isnt any different than buying a Kia. I will never buy another one!I have priced new bulbs with supposedly brighter output for a mere 99.00 and National Customer Service said unfortunately that would be my issue and expense, no recalls, no help, no nothing! You can read online hundreds of the same complaint, year after year and a settlement was done in Calif. and Florida only. Cadillac is just another vehicle and the service is just another service you will pay for.
