Heres The New Nissan Altima Before You Are Supposed To See It
Posted On: April 8, 2022
While Nissan has been accused of having a rather stodgy lineup, you can't say the brand hasn't been trying to remedy the situation. The Leaf will gain a battery-powered sibling in the form of the Ariya and the ancient GT-R won't be the only performance model for much longer: the much-awaited Z car is getting ready to terrorize the Supra. But what about the rest of the range? Well, it seems the midsized Altima will soon gain several updates to bring it more in line with newer models if these spy shots are anything to go by. First seen on Sohu.com, the images show a Chinese market Altima with minimal concealment. Look closely and you'll see some changes that enliven the fairly conservative sedan. While the front headlamps appear to retain the same shape, new styling details within the lighting cluster may give the Altima a fresher look. What is different, however, is the front bumper design. A more pronounced front vent takes the place of the current model's fog lamp housing. The side profile of the Altima appears unchanged which is no bad thing. Familiarity has concealed just how handsome the Altima is, so we're happy it keeps the clean lines. The rear is where the biggest changes have taken place. The rather old-fashioned red/amber lenses have given way to far more attractive and modern-looking LED items. The design of the lighting bears a faint resemblance to the taillights found on the refreshed BMW X3. At first glance, the interior remains untouched. However, eagle-eyed readers will spot the enhanced infotainment screen on the center console. The spy shots show a slightly larger touchscreen which lacks the knobs and buttons found on the current item. Depending on your personal preferences, this is either a good or bad move on Nissan's part. It certainly lends the cabin an air of minimalism, though. Other than a slightly redesigned front cupholder and more angular detailing, we can't see that much else has changed. That's no big deal; the Altima is blessed with a well-built cabin that's pleasing to sit in and look at. First seen in 2019, the sixth-generation US-spec model could do with a facelift. We're just happy to see that Nissan is looking to improve one of its sedan models, despite many manufacturers moving away from the body style. If this redesign is headed to the US, expect an official announcement before year-end.

I followed the protocol as per the instructions on the payoff sheet. I wrote a check and mailed it in. No one at the 800 number can help because the payoff department is not on their premise, its in another state entirely! So they refused to verify if the payoff was even received, which is causing havoc to getting the title cleaned. I cannot afford so much as a negative on my credit for them not posting by the final due date. It is not my fault, they refused to post to the account and release the title. I have 5 years of perfect payment with even more paid to them, then agreed technically. Maybe Ill contact a lawyer since not only did I pay more than was necessary, but in the end, they quoted a per diem for the last payment that increased it for payoff before the actual end date as listed on the loan agreement. The consequence I am enduring is that I have no clean title and no response from a helpful Nissan NMAC rep to resolve this. My final word to anyone considering a Nissan: The cars are reliable, the NMAC finance is not! Run to your local credit union or a local bank to get a loan, NMAC is not consumer-friendly at all!

Leased a 2015 Nissan Altima that broke down with 4k miles on a day after it was at Legacy Nissan Service Department. I came to learn that the Gasket leaked, which made no sense at all. Then the manager informed me that basically the technician screwed up during the oil change and didnt do something right, which led all the engine oil to drop back out of the car. I am trying to have them replace the vehicle as it is fairly new but they are refusing to offer any solution or step up to the fault.

Extremely poor customer service from Nissan UK after reporting numerous faults on my new car (Nissan Note). The local dealer has done their best with no support from the manufacturer. The car has the following problems - front wings have been changed after painting. Windscreen trims loose and fell off. Drive belt replaced due to slipping. Front window trims NS/OS not fitting. Front NS seat base cover keeps coming off. Water leaks into rear OS footwell caused by two seam welds being missed in manufacturing a damaged air vent and dented body panel. Air conditioning pump leaking and no gas but very noisy. I would definitely recommend staying clear of a new Nissan of any type.

I purchased a car from Nissan for my son so that he could get to school safely. We test drove the car together (fully loaded with GPS sirius XM). After we completed the details of the car purchase, my son got the car and drove off. I made the fatal mistake of trusting the salesman. I did not realize the mistake until I asked to borrow my sons car. BLUF, I contacted, Nissan the internet manager called, recorded our conversation and she kept pausing in 5 min intervals as if she were thinking of how to find words to tell me I had the right car. She asked if I came in on the 16K special, I said no, I thought I was getting the car that had sirius XM and GPS. So then she tells me my salesman was out of the country and then she said another far fetch explanation. I contacted Nissan Corp and was assigned a case # so Heidi calls me every 3 days while I am at work or when she is about to leave for the day to check the block to ask if the manager of Bowie Nissan has contacted me. I returned her call and left a message asking to receive an email and she said she is unable to write an email. I was very specific in a detail letter and she leaves a message to say to call her if I have concerns. I will never refer my friends to Bowie Nissan and yes I have many friends who are in need a car including my daughter. I will refer then to Acura, Acura does not rip off its customers. The financial advisor lied initially to me about qualifying for a higher loan and I have excellent credit. The bank gave me a much better loan than Nissan tried to offer for less years. I have seen cars that are clearly marked Altima 2.5S. The paperwork noting what is attached to the vehicle also coincides to read Altima 2.5S. My sons car says ALTIMA S and his paperwork says ALTIMA 2.5S. The fair thing for Nissan to do would be to add the features that we paid for. We have paperwork that clearly says 2.5S

When I purchased a 2011 Nissan Frontier, I was asked, How would you like your payments to be made? Through automatic withdrawal or through mail? I clearly stated that I would like an online account that would draft my payments automatically on the 17th day of every month. When I first discovered that payments were being taken from my online account and through mail, I contacted my bank to stop the payment. I then contacted Nissan to inform them I did not want my account being drafted twice a month. Fast forward to a year later: the same thing, but only this time Nissan Finance writes an email to me apologizing for mistakenly drafting twice out of my account. I took the initiative to cancel one of the two payments that they were taking. Once I did, Nissan did the same thing; therefore, no payment was received for the month of July. Harassing phone calls everyday all day began approximately 4 days after. I spoke with a lot of callers (all of which I cant understand due to language barriers). I explained my grievance and they said, Sorry, but you now must make a payment for last month.” I find this company to be poorly run, disorganized and filled with negligence across the board. I can promise that this Nissan 2011 Frontier will be the last Nissan I buy and I will gladly share this story with anyone interested in buying a Nissan.

I leased a 2013 Nissan Leaf two years ago from Peoria Nissan in Arizona. At the time, the salesman told me not to worry about the battery because Nissan just replaces them if there is any problem. That is totally a lie, and Peoria Nissan will not be of any assistance to me with my Nissan Leaf that has a range now of 59 miles (maybe) in the winter with no heater on. Dont ask about how it fares in the summer - it is ugly to say the least. I now have one more year to suffer through this vehicle because Nissan says the battery charges up to 10 bars and must decline to 8 bars.We know that this does not take into account battery fade - in other words - yes, it looks good when it is first charged, but like all failing batteries, the range quickly decreases as soon as you pull out of your driveway. My lesson in all of this is that Peoria Nissan lies to its customers - yes I know I should not be surprised, and that the manufacturer is choosing to make folks keep a car that simply does not meet the needs stated by the buyer when purchasing the car. I expected somewhere in the range of 70 miles which would allow me to drive back and forth to my work site daily and make a couple side trips as well. This was all explained to the salesman when I leased the car. He is no longer with the dealership. So, I asked if the dealer would work with me on terminating my lease and getting a 2016 Leaf that supposedly had a better battery. Unlike the salesmans reassurances that it was no big deal to end the lease after 24 months, the dealer asked for the entire amount of the last 12 payments and the car. The explanation was that Nissan had changed its lease terms and that the residual value stated in my contract was no longer really valid. The upshot was that for over 900 dollars per month, I could get out of my current lease, turn in my car and get a comparable 2016 Nissan Leaf. Ha Ha Ha. I am laughing only because I am happy to share this saga with anyone who might be foolish enough to trust Nissan and buy or lease one of their vehicles. My advice - just because their contracts are preprinted - insist on adding terms that the salesman tells you in writing and have them initial them. You will then perhaps find out what the real deal is. Thanks for listening.

I bought my 2011 Rogue in 2014. Loved it for a couple years. Once it hit 100,000 miles it was one problem after another. One of the rear locks didnt work anymore, my air conditioner went out but the most expensive and frustrating thing was the CVT transmission went out at 112,000!!! WTF?? And they cant be rebuilt, you have to buy a new one directly from Nissan... $4,100 later my air conditioner goes out the next week. Luckily, someone ran into us and totaled the vehicle before I had to spend the $300 to fix this. Stay away from any vehicle that has a CVT!!!

Cape Cod, MA: At the end of Jan. 13, I purchased a high-end 2010 luxury Maxima SV with 33k miles. The dealer pushed a $2000 extended warranty on me saying mine would run out at 36k. When I read it over carefully, I realized that this did not cover everyday issues (exp: brakes, tires, etc.) and every item that was covered were parts/issues that Nissan would be bound by LAW to correct anyway! (I know this as the previous Director of the BBB & of the Consumer Assistance Council in our region working closely with our State Attorney Generals Public Protection Bureau.)As an educated consumer, I cancelled this useless policy, and surprise - in December 13, 6k miles over the ridiculous 36k warranty (less than any other manufacturer to my knowledge), my beautiful Maxima had me, a woman, stranded in a dark parking lot on an icy rainy Sunday night. It was incapacitated due to a faulty part in the steering column connected to the push start. After research I found that there are MANY HUNDREDS of complaints and horror stories regarding this issue & that Nissan had recalled the defective part on 2009 models. Although I expect the 2010 Maximas also contain this defective part. This brought me on a journey to complain to Consumer Affairs and a regional rep. Neither were concerned with standing behind their expensive, luxury, top of the line vehicle, and were not even interested in extending the repair as a goodwill gesture as, after all, I didnt purchase the Extended Warranty! Try as I might, I could not get through to them that they were STILL bound by Implied Warranties in Massachusetts under MGL. Ch. 93A Consumer Protection provisions. Nissan CANNOT develop and sell extended warranties (Express Warranties) in order to avoid what they would be required to do under an implied warranty. Basically: a product must perform properly for a reasonable amount of time or it is the seller/manufacturers responsibility to rectify. Nissan is attempting to coerce purchasers of their vehicles into purchasing expensive extended warranties - therefore GETTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR (NISSANS) RESPONSIBILITY BY LAW. This is fraud & misrepresentation to consumer and an illegal practice! I am SO disappointed in Nissan Corp. This was my fourth Nissan and the other 3 ran forever! Truly, one of the reasons I wasnt worried about an extended warranty is because in the past Nissans were exceptionally reliable. At this time I dont know WHAT is going on with Nissan Corp., but they apparently feel no responsibility towards the consumer if they havent purchased an expensive and unnecessary extended warranty, therefore absolving them of any financial liability (ie - YOU, the consumer, already paid for yours & everyone elses repairs by purchasing this so-called warranty). Ive filed a Consumer Complaint with Consumer Protection and intend to file a MGL. Ch. 93A claim for treble damages. I also intend to inform our Attorney General of this fraudulent practice to gather information to prepare a class action lawsuit to obtain monetary damages for consumers!

I own a 2007 Xterra 4X4. I had to replace the rear wheel axle twice! The first time at around 34000 miles and Nissan replaced it under warranty. The 2nd time it happened at around 60,000. Nissan was of no help and it cost me almost $3,000. The vehicle was in the shop for 6 weeks, while I was waiting on Nissan to respond to my complain. To top it off, when I picked up my Xterra after Kraft Nissan installed the new axle, the mechanic forgot to release the brakes (axle comes complete with new brakes) and they started smoking and I had to return to the shop!!! Nissan will not stand behind their product. My husband drives a Nissan Frontier and his transmission had to be replaced twice. I will never again purchase a Nissan Product.

My wife and I have a 2011 Nissan Altima on lease. Mid-2012 my wife was sexually assaulted IN the car. Think about this. Do you want to drive the car that the love of your life has been raped in? NO! After numerous phone calls to NMAC, we received no assistance. We were even in contact with Nissan North America. They tried to help us out by offering us a car at factory price. The issue was the early termination cost of the car. NMAC refuses to help in any way (they even said as much to the guy at Nissan North America). I understand that NMAC had no legal obligation to assist us in any way, but I feel that they could have done something from a humanitarian standpoint. I never expected them to say, Oh sorry, here is a brand new car for free. What I expected was some relief from the early termination fee. I cannot wait for my lease to end as I will NEVER conduct business with Nissan or their affiliates ever again. I will strongly discourage others from doing so.

We purchased a new 2015 Nissan Rogue with a CVT transmission, we also paid for an extended warranty. We have since put 91,000 highway miles on the vehicle. The transmission began to stutter and lightly slip at random intervals. I DROVE it to an authorized dealer (Antwerpen Nissan here in Owings Mills, MD). They told us that after ($149) diagnosis, it needed a valve body and cooling assembly. We were then informed that it needed a new Catalytic converter as well. They stated that our extended warranty expired at 60,000 miles, but Nissan would cover 60% of the transmission work. After replacing the parts, the vehicle was still doing the same thing and now would not shift out of 1st gear. We were informed that we were now responsible for an additional $1377.00 for another transmission part. Remember that I drove the vehicle there, with NO issues of shifting our of 1st gear. Bill at this point would now be around $3700.00. They have now replaced the additional part (I was not told what the mysterious part is) and again the vehicle will still not shift out of 1st gear and still slips. I have now been told that they will have to try and figure out what to do next, however it will of course be an additional charge. They have had the Rogue for 2 weeks now, they DID provide a courtesy car after 4 days. I have cited multiple online recalls for 2012 to 2018 Nissan Rogue with the CVT transmission, as well as lawsuits I have found about them. I was told that my vehicle is not listed by the Highway administration as being part of any recall or bulletin. BEWARE. We are adult drivers who are not rough on our vehicles. We are without our vehicle, currently sitting at a huge bill, a broken vehicle that has only gotten worse from the work that was done, and still waiting to hear how much MORE we will have to pay to get our Rogue back.

I recently purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 133,000 miles. Seemed to be just what I needed. However, just a few days after I purchased I noticed the engine would power down when taking off. I had it checked out and it was the transmission. I verified with the Nissan dealer and they confirmed it was the transmission. When calling to make the appointment and telling the problem that was experienced the service guy expected it to be the transmission. Seems that it is a common problem with the 2013 model. However, I have since found out that is a problem for 2010. Nissan needs to extend their warranty repair for this problem.

Buyers beware! I am so extremely disappointed and frustrated with this company who refuses to help their customers in order to make some extra money in their pocket. They have unethical billing practices. I not only leased two vehicles from them but have only been a customer for less than 2 months and regret ever going into business with them. I have been on the phone with so many of their reps and supervisors, people feeding me different ** and after more time, stress and headache, never getting to an actual solution, but rather the way they would have it, money for them and an unhappy customer. This company is known for their terrible billing practices. Even the Mass Turnpike knew I had a Nissan without me giving any personal account information because this is what Nissan does. Thats a good reputation you’ve built for yourself Nissan. I hope I can help the next potential buyer so that when they read this, they go get a Honda instead. Trust me, you will regret getting into business with this company. I am seriously looking into getting a lawyer about this because this is just wrong. I made it so easy for them to resolve the issue, but they keep coming back with ridiculous reasons for why they cannot do that. If I was with another dealer, this would not even be an issue I would have to be resolving.

I purchased a 2012 Nissan Sentra 2 years ago and I didnt mind the high interest rate and payments because I thought Nissan made reliable vehicles. WRONG. My transmission now needs to be replaced at 85k miles! Not okay! Id chalk it up to bad luck if it were just me having this issue but Ive found countless reviews complaining of the same issue with the CVT transmissions in all Nissan models. Nissan doubled the warranty on the older models due to a lawsuit for their cheap faulty transmission, you think theyd resolve the issue but NOPE! The repairs are going to cost me $3400 and Nissan refuses to help. Awful cars and awful service. If its not too late, do NOT buy Nissan. Look into Hondas or Toyotas. Nissan dont tell you this but the refrigerant they use in their cars is considered by them to be a consumable. So when your air con stops working after 18 months and Nissan garages claim they cant find a leak on the system this is what they say. So Nissan think its ok for their customers to pay £300 every 18 months for a regas!!!! Customer service dont want to know. They also think its ok. Its not. It is daylight robbery. You must remember also that if it goes again in a few weeks there is no warranty on the regas according to Nissan Chorley and Nissan. Talk about money going into thin air.

Dropped off my 2013 Nissan Versa for the CVT recall. After I left and got onto the 101 freeway my car went from 60 MPH to about 10 right in front of a Big Rig truck. We crawled toward the nearest exit and went back to the dealer. They said it needed a new transmission and would be 4000 dollars. At 51,000 my warranty was up since it had been a few months over 5 years. They said it was still driveable since I didnt have the cash to fork over so we left and almost got hit as the car stopped on La Brea and Fountain. As I was in extreme distress and by the grace of God we were able to pull into an urgent care lot and the ladies said we could park the car there until we got a tow truck. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and now I am unable to go anywhere as I have no car. Nissan... SHAME ON YOU!!!

I own a 2003 350z Touring and the outside door handles are complete crap. I dont know if this is planned obsolescence, but the fact that they are made out of cheap plastic and break all the time is ridiculous. Ive been to many Nissan forums and EVERYONE with this model car has had the same issues. Why has there been no recall if its such a popular issue? The plastic on the inside of the handle that holds the spring in place constantly breaks into pieces from the pressure. Also, the window motors have both recently gone out. I had to crawl through the hatch to get in my car today and since the hydraulics went out on the hatch, that made it that much more of a hassle. All of this and I have only had the car for 6 months. What next? I have owned many cars but this is my first Nissan and Ive never felt like there was planned obsolescence like I have with this car. Does anyone know how something gets recalled?

My airbag light came on and my passenger air bag indicator showed off. I took to my local mechanic who told me there was a voluntary recall P8242 and therefore I needed to go to a dealership since this was covered under warranty. I took my vehicle to Haldeman Nissan in Hamilton NJ and was told it was not covered due to the wrong vin #. I should call Nissan consumer affairs. I was told someone would be back to me by end of day next day. That morning after supplying all information including quote of 4911.52 from dealership to repair (lined up exactly to recall repair) told nothing they could do since wrong vin #. I consider this not standing behind their product. A known issue and they will not fix a vehicle with approximately 60k miles. Last Nissan I will purchase. Also told by mechanic transfer case leaking and due to rust on my rotors they should be replaced. A small amount of rust accumulated since I had been on vacation and car was not used. Felt like they were trying to pull a fast one. Back to Ford/Mazda for me.

I had a horrible experience in every aspect of my purchase. I had a truck moved from my dealerships lot a few miles away. I asked to wait to view the truck in person BEFORE signing any documents. I was assured that the documents I was signing were related to the loan and extended warranty and I would be able to see the vehicle before signing. I was offered $2000 off by another dealer but it was too late, unknown to me I already signed. I had to purchase bed extender and was supposed to receive 15% off for my VIP package, negative, paid full price. I took my truck in for service and spent over 2 hours watching soap operas for an OIL CHANGE!!! Last straw was my drivers door. The door is not aligned properly. When opening the door falls and causes and overlap with the rear door. It closes with some force. I took to the dealership for repair under warranty. I was leaving town for a few days and had to take a cab to the airport to get a rental. I was called and told my truck was ready. I returned and took another cab ride to pick up my truck. SAME PROBLEM. The dealer did offer me a loaner which was nice BUT upon returning to get my truck a second time... SAME PROBLEM!!! I will likely never buy another Nissan EVER!!! The only reason I purchased this one is that there were limited options. I was driving a 2014 RAM 1500 Crew cab which I loved but I live in the city/suburbs and needed something smaller for daily driving. The only options were Tacoma, Frontier or Colorado. The Frontier won based on size and price. Im now wishing I had paid extra for a better product and service. Ive had nothing but problems from the purchase to service.

Your dealer cheated us very well and I am willing to complain in the BBB and TV. I bought a Nissan Rogue on July 2011 from Power Nissan Tempe for $23,500. The finance manager was Larry, who does not inform the buyer of what type of contract is the deal. I paid $10,000 cash and was happy that I owe only $13,500. After I received my statement from Chase Bank, I got shocked because they charged me for $31,000. When I called the dealer, he said I signed the contract. The charge was for extended warranty, lowjack and other things which did make no sense to me or my husband. On September 15, I went to the dealers store and talked to the general manager Mr. Randy **. After explaining the situation, he agreed to reduce some nonsense charge. We signed the reduction paper and handed to Larry, the finance manager. He promised me to take care of the problem within 6 weeks. Today, 2 months passed and nothing has changed. I called a couple of times today, nobody answered. I look like a jock to them. They play games with people. I would like to send a letter to my governor and call all the news.

My son purchased a 2014 Nissan Altima with 36,000 miles on it. He has owned it for 2 weeks. He was suppose to have Powertrain warranty that went with vehicle till 2019. The CarFax said it was leased to private owner in 2014 till 2016 then sent to auction in New Jersey. In which another dealer purchased it. Then my son purchased the headache. The car had blue smoke coming out of exhaust so we took it to Nissan to look at. The service department said it was sludge in engine and the vehicle had no maintenance done at all. But Nissan wanted a pic of oil pan and valves before they would decline to have it repaired. My son paid 200 for this to be done then Nissan decline repair because of neglect. The Nissan dealership knew when vehicle was brought back from lease that no maintenance was done so they passed it along to auction so someone else could deal with it. Now son has car with no warranty.

I initially took in my 2008 Nissan 350Z roadster convertible to Tony Nissan to have them repair the convertible roof because it is not fully closing into its compartment. They looked at it and eight hours later, said that they couldnt find anything wrong with it. They even showed me that it was working before leaving.Later that day, I wanted to test it out for myself. And much to my dismay, the same problem occurred. Being busy with work, etc., I wasn’t able to take it back in immediately. I was under warranty and thought I had time (my mileage at the time was under 36K). When I took it again (about a month and a half later) stating that it was not fixed, they tried to charge me for $350.00 just to look at it because now, my warranty had expired. I was under the impression that my warranty was going to expire at 60K or five years. Of course, I refused to pay that outrageous fee and left.I then returned at Tony Nissan with my husband and he demanded to speak to a manager. They looked at my vehicle at no cost but said they needed to contact Nissan corporate to get an approval to cover the cost of the repair. Three weeks thereafter, Nissan denied my claim stating that 1) I didnt have enough history with maintaining my vehicle and 2) my warranty is expired. This is such an incredible injustice for Nissan should have fixed the problem initially while my vehicle was under warranty. My vehicle is maintained immaculately with regular oil changes, etc. I intend to sue Nissan corporate and Tony Nissan to recoup the costs to repair my vehicle. Furthermore, I will not trust any brand with the Nissan name.

I had to go through the Philippines Call Center for about 3 weeks - back and forth - over 15 calls. This was only to find out that it had to be handled through the United States. At that point getting in contact with my Nissan representative was extremely difficult. I still have an open issue and will keep posting on social media until this is resolved. Such a poor system. I really believe we are doomed as a society after this experience. It started when the dealership in CT (Crowley Nissan) failed to provide me with a rental car after communicating to me twice that I could receive a rental car.I am a small business owner that works with the disabled and it nearly knocked my business out. I am very dissatisfied (obviously). They have already wasted my time that I wont get back - but I am still trying to get them to compensate for the rental car. I could take this into litigation - which I have made them aware of - but I am trying to mediate and be fair here. If anyone has any email addresses for upper to senior management for Nissan North America - or even beyond - please let me know.

I did some research and found out that Nissan is aware of this problem but doesnt have it as a recall. Now its going to cost me like 1,000 to repair and my car isnt even paid off yet. We have a 2008 versus with a CVT-transmission that went bad at 120956 mileage. Faulkner Nissan diagnostics stated trans needed to be replaced for 3300.00. The extended warranty was for 12000 miles. We contacted Nissan to ask for partial assistance and waive the 956 miles. Our request was denied by Rachael from consumer affairs who states she makes the decisions to grant customers request or not. She stated that our vin-number was not included in the extension which is not true according to Nissans website. Ms. Rachael wanted us to have car re-diagnosed for 100.00 knowing she had already decided to decline assistance based on the false information about the vin - number not being included.

Purchased a used 2011 Nissan Versa with low mileage (66k) thinking that, like previously owned Nissans, this will last until 300k without any major issues. At 79k miles the car feels like it is loose and swaying back and forth while driving and the service light comes on. Take to Nissan dealer and find a recall and after looking at the transmission, they say we need to replace the transmission because it is giving a fail code. They only want $4000+ for the replacement, more than we owe on the car. Of course I did my research and see the thousands of complaints on the CVT engine that is supposedly the most efficient transmission on the market and they had upped the warranty coverage up until 2010 model to 120k miles. Great, that doesnt help my 2011 but I checked and it was manufactured in 2010, so I call 1800Nissan1 and complain and ask for help. To their benefit they come back and say they will pay half the transmission cost. Half, for a transmission with obvious issues that they know about but will not recognize officially. My wife and I bought the Nissan because it was a go-to car brand, it would be reliable, it would not let us down. In the midst of this the neighbors 2012 Nissan Altimas CVT transmission failed. I hate to say this, having had the 1996 Nissan Sentra for almost 14 years, but never will we buy another Nissan. My plan was to pay the car off this year anyhow so now it will sit as a monument until some reasonable lawsuit is filed on behalf of the people CVT transmissions has left stranded.

We paid $3500 for the replacement to Nissan and they couldnt offer to pay at least half. Only offered us lip service. We are very good car owners and usually keep our cars a long time without major repairs. Never Nissan again. We are not unique, hence the reason of the class action suit.

First, to make a payment over the phone for a Nissan account, the consumer is charged a $12.00 service fee. That is outrageous! Second, BillMatrixs automated system is a headache to deal with. Compound that with having to talk to customer service reps in India just compounds the frustration of going through their customer service communication channels. All this adds up to make it a real headache to try and communicate with Nissan. Just the thought of having to pay $12.00 in order to pay your bill seems like a racket.

I own a 2009 Nissan Rogue and my transmission just went out. I understand completely that a vehicle is a vehicle and all vehicles will have problems every now and then. What I dont understand is why the heck is Nissan still marketing their vehicles with the CVT transmissions? I know a lot of people who owned a Altima, Maxima, Murano and I asked the question of why did you guys get rid of your vehicles? Their responses were they started to hear grinding noises coming from the transmission and the transmission would idle past 2k rpms at a complete stop and once they take off the transmission would change gears so hard that it felt like they were being rear ended and so they didnt trust the CVT transmission and got rid of their vehicle before any major mechanical issues occurred. Three weeks ago I began experiencing the same problem and Sunday June 14th I went to turn into the grocery store parking lot and tried to give it a little more gas and all it did was idle and then immediately my service engine light kept flashing. I had the vehicle towed to a Nissan dealership and it was confirmed my transmission went out and to top it off they are non repairable. So not only do I not have a vehicle but I am also making a very decent payment on the vehicle and my warranty has expired. To everyone out there looking to purchase a Nissan. I highly recommend that you do not buy their products until they discontinue the CVT transmissions. If youre interested in how Nissan vehicles look rather than the quality of the vehicle then have at it. Trust me when I say you will be glad you didnt purchase any of their vehicles with the CVT transmission. I only wish I wouldve done my homework before purchasing my vehicle.

We bought a brand new Nissan Sentra 2013, have had problems with it and has been in to be repaired and told every time that that is normal. Problem 1: had rattling in dashboard. Told several times that is normal. Transmission doesnt always shift until you are 2 plus miles in, that is normal. Area around the door, that is normal (this is brand new car). The passenger seat belt will lock and you cannot move, have to unclasp and let it go all the way back and start fresh, that is normal. This doesnt happen every day. But come on, new and all this. We have been battling with this issue for over a year. Will not buy or tell anyone Nissan is anything but a high-risk car. We are senior citizens and cannot afford costly repairs, thus reason we bought NEW. Now trying to pay off and get Toyota, Honda, anything but NISSAN. We have had several other brand new cars and NEVER had a problem with them.

I recently purchased a brand new 2015 Nissan Armada Platinum in mid-April.
I recently purchased a brand new 2015 Nissan Armada Platinum in mid-April. This is my 5th Nissan vehicle (2 Xterras and 3 Armadas). I have always joked when looking at other cars that I am a Nissan girl. The joke is over and I will NEVER, EVER purchase a Nissan vehicle again... EVER!!! We purchased the vehicle from our local dealership. They found the vehicle I wanted at nearby dealership (it was being driven/demod by the GM of that dealership), so they did a dealer trade. When I went in to sign papers and take possession of the vehicle (on a Wednesday), I noticed that the headphones, remote control, and owner manuals had not been put back in the vehicle by the GM. The next day, I noticed that the front end was out of alignment and called the service dept. to set up a time for them to fix it. I also noticed that the back of the 2nd row headrests were beat up (pieces of the hard plastic were dug out like something had been hauled in the back and dug into the headrests). The power lift gate would open, but when you pushed the button to close it - it would go down and just before it shut, it would pop back up like something was in the way. We noticed that when the lift gate was closed - on the left side, the space between the lift gate and the body was normal, but on the right side there was a big gap. It was a noticeable gap and big enough that my husband could easily put his fingers into the space. When we took the vehicle to the dealership we showed them the gap. The service manager made calls to Nissan, but was told the gap was within their specs of being ok, and since it wasnt leaking then basically we were told to deal with it. A few days later, we had a pretty lengthy thunderstorm. A day or so later, I opened the lift gate to my vehicle and inside the gap - I cleaned out a handful of wet leaves and debris. In less than ONE month of owning the vehicle, the issues we have discovered are: Lift gate gap, shotty body work on the roof where it meets the lift gate, beat up 2nd row headrests, GPS outdated - but Nissan will sell me the update for an additional $130, driver side seat belt will not release - has to be pushed repeatedly to unlatch, the front and rear air do not work independently from each other as they are suppose to, and the power window control panel on the driver door is sticking up out of the door, instead of being flush with the door (the passenger side is fine). I contacted (800)-Nissan1 and they opened a case. I told them that this particular vehicle was janky and had too many little issues for a $50,000 brand new, top of the line (according to them) vehicle. I told them I did not want my money back, I just wanted the same car without all the problems. I received a call today, from Justin with Nissan, to notify me that my vehicle was not eligible for a buy back. Basically - the lift gate gap was within their specs of acceptable. I was told the car was still under warranty, put it in the shop, and let them fix it. So... my brand new, top of the line vehicle has to go into the shop a month after purchasing it for multiple issues. This is what Nissan considers a quality product and great customer service!

I purchased a 2011 Sentra with 72,000 miles on it for my daughter on May 2014. About 3 months of owning it, she calls me and tells me that the vehicle is losing power at about 55mph on the highway. I figured its probably a dirty fuel filter, so I called Autozone and they told me this vehicles fuel filter is in the tank with the fuel pump and doesnt get replaced. I took the vehicle to my mechanic and his scanner gave us code PO 745 pressure control solenoid malfunction. He told me to take it to the dealer because the vehicle was so new. The Nissan dealer told me that Nissan doesnt authorize them to repair transmissions, only exchange them for remanufactured ones. Then he runs my vin# and tells me that my car is not covered under the extended warranty from Nissan. They cover 2003 till 2010 and my car is 2011 and that I would have to pay to replace the transmission. Weve had the car one year and bought it with 72,000 miles and it currently has 80,500. Now Im stuck with this problem and the vehicle is not paid off yet. At this point I am running out of options. Please help.

Despite the fact that I did not buy the extended warranty, I should not have to replace a transmission this soon. Apparently there have been recalls regarding the CVT transmissions (Nissan is well aware of their problems) but my VIN was not included... Hmmm... I wonder why. Since it is out of warranty, I am not bringing it to a Nissan dealership for repair as they will only charge me more than my hometown garage. In 2014 my husband and I bought a brand new 2014 Nissan Rogue. I thought I had my dream car; little did I know, it was a nightmare car. In the last three years we have owned the car it has been in the shop at least 5 times for repairs that were covered under our warranty and two other times for voluntary recalls. I knew there was something not right with the transmission less than a year after we purchased the car. It made funny noises and jumped when changing gears. After 2 and a half years and many attempts to have Nissan look into the problem they finally replaced the transmission when it about fell out in their parking lot! Now, less than a month after having the transmission replaced, I am sitting here trying to get the air conditioning looked at cause there seems to be a leak that WAS NOT there before the transmission replacement. Ive been a LOYAL customer of Nissan for many many years purchasing over $100,000 worth of vehicles, over a period of time, but NO MORE. We purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue from a dealership in MD, have taken the vehicle there for all services, except tires of course. Weve kept up the maintenance on the vehicle, as our record clearly shows and now that we have an issue, NISSAN Corporate bailed out on us.. YES, they sure did. I just want all Nissan owners and owners to be, know NISSAN should have a massive RECALL on their transmissions for the Rogue. When we started having an issue with the transmission, we of course took vehicle into dealership, which, they in turn, said transmission has been known to overheat, therefore, they installed an additional cooling device on the transmission. However, after having this installed, which was covered under the warranty, it worked for a little while, and guess what? You guessed it, it is now overheating again and of course out of warranty. Perfect timing Mmmmm?? My husband took vehicle back to the MD dealership, they tested and said the transmission is SHOT and may burn up at anytime. WOW, Big surprise, again. We were then directed to contact Nissan Corporate headquarters. We did, they set up a case, dealership submitted papers to Corporate and guess what? They told us to pound sand. Yep, what a wonderful Business Relations we have here! Ive been dealing with customers most of my adult life and to say the least, you would THINK that a major corporation like Nissan would at least work with their customers, but NO! We offered to pay half of repair cost, still NO! To say the least, Im truly disappointed by Nissans response I received today and would NOT recommend anyone buying one of their vehicles, which I have three of them at the moment, until the Rogue transmission cramps out completely. Sincerely, disappointed customer, but NO MORE! You will NEVER get my business, nor will I recommend NISSAN to anyone ever again.... Have a nice day!

Myself and a few family members of mine have driven nothing but Nissans for the past several years. My moms first Nissan was an 01 Altima. She drove it for 5 years and 230k miles with nary an issue. Her next vehicle was an 06 Sentra. Another five years, another 230k miles with no issues. Her current vehicle is a 2011 Sentra that has 215k miles. The only major repair has been the crank sensor. She had such good luck with Nissans I decided to purchase a used Versa Hatchback. It had 26k on it when the ex and I purchased it. I commuted with it for three years and traded it in at 140k miles (due to personal issues) with no issues.I drove a 13 Versa for a year until I was rear ended and it was totaled by a drunk driver. I accrued 52k miles on it with no troubles. After that I got a 14 Sentra 6 SPD. I drove it for a year and accrued 45k miles on it with no issues. I found myself needing a truck so I traded it in for a Frontier. Ive had it for two months and 8k miles and am extremely happy with it. I plan on keeping it for a long time. The point is you will occasionally get the troubled anomaly, but all in all Nissan makes a good product.

I filed a complaint with the Broward General Attorney under the protection of LEMON LAW in Florida. I paid $29300.00 brand new and is being kept in my home garage.

I have been a loyal Nissan owner/leaser for almost 20 years - I have literally had 9 Nissans, and have always been happy with their performance. I was 2 years into my current Pathfinder lease, and my financial situation changed dramatically due to a divorce and job loss. My income went down to a third of what it was, and the monthly payment was just too much. I understand that many people have financial hardships, but as an extremely loyal Nissan customer who NEVER missed a payment and has excellent credit, I thought that Nissan would work with me on an early termination fee reduction. Three weeks and numerous phone calls later, I was literally told by a Customer Service supervisor that while she had the power to make an adjustment, she simply couldnt break their policy. Losing my business after 20 years was apparently worth the $1800 early termination fee, or actually less than that, as I was willing to pay something on a credit card to leave this lease, and then lease a less expensive Nissan that fit my budget. I worked with Hyundai, and they gave me more than $1000 more than my Nissan dealership was willing to give me for my Pathfinder. I unfortunately have the same payment on my new vehicle, but I own instead of leasing, and I will save $100 a month on gas. At least its something... but Nissan has lost me as a customer forever.

So I bought a 2014 Nissan Sentra with 40k miles. I learned how to drive a stick in a 04 Sentra so I really wanted a new version after I sold my 04. Anyways. After about 4 months of having the vehicle my take off and accelerating was slow, if not completely gone. It took forever just to hit 50mph and I better not be on the highway because the minute I hit a hill whatever speed Im going will decrease even with my foot completely on the gas. It was over the time for a oil change so I took it in to get done. Problem went away so I thought I was in the clear but then it came back the next day. I forgot to mention that the engine light and traction light would come on every other day.I went to the Nissan dealership in Florence, SC where my mother was just incase I needed to steal her car. They ended up having to keep my car for 2 days because the engine lights werent on and they couldnt get a error code. Eventually they figured out it was a electrical problem and my backup communication system was failing and because of the 2 issues my battery was being drained so I needed a new battery too. The price ended up being $533. I called Nissan, started a claim, and within 24 hours I received a call back stated my claim had been approved and Nissan was going to pay 90%. Whoop whoop. The only issue was it took 10 days for the dealership to receive their check. Now those 10 days do include weekends and the 4th of July. My claim was approved Wednesday but I couldnt get my car back until the following Saturday. Even though the dealership talked to consumer affairs they wouldnt give me my car back until they got their 90%. Anyways since it was 10 days when I finally came to get my car my tech just gave it to me and forgave my 10%. I ended up paying nothing at all.

I was actually in a hurry to buy a car as mine got totaled in an accident. The price seemed to be a good value and dealership close to home helped. I like my car that is why I have not replaced it after thirteen years. I think Nissan is a very good brand or make of cars. I love how quiet it is. I get complimented on the color and looks of the car. Car rides smoothly and runs quiet. I like the material of the seats. The radio had a nice sound. I like the color, the size, the sunroof, and electric seats. However, I dislike the small cabinet. The covering has rippled and the gearshift fid too. Air vents for the air conditioner are placed wrong on the dash. During hot summers in Las Vegas seems like it never get cool enough.

I have a Service Contract with Nissan and is a joke. At 15,000 miles I was told that Regular routine issues like replacing an air filter was not covered. I was at Nissan for an oil change and after they were finished the Service Department presented me with a $300 bill. Air Filter, Brake Fluid; minor items. Then the Tires which is really the reason why I am writing. NISSAN ROTATED MY TIRES AND NEVER PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT!!! I have spoken to at least 3 experts that informed me the tires were worn from the inside out. How CRAZY is this!!! I had to replace my tires for $700 just recently and have the bill now to submit the highest person that runs NISSAN. I want to be compensated for a pro-rate on my tires. I will pursue this matter with Nissan until I cant talk anymore. Literally! The sad part is that I am disabled and putting 2 sons through College so they get a decent chance in life to chase their dreams. I cannot afford these tires. Another sad issue is my Parents always owned American made Cars and I talked them into buying a Nissan Rogue and then a Sentra. How Sad! I want help with compensation on my tires. I have all the documentation.

I have a Quest with 70,000 miles and a bad AC compressor. This is a $1000 repair through Nissan, and far too soon in the life of this vehicle. I contacted the Nissans customer support line. After holding for about an hour and a half, I did finally get a chance to talk to someone. He couldnt commit to any financial assistance Nissan doing anything until I had Nissan look at it, even though the local garage had already assessed it for free. I understand why that is necessary. You cant just start throwing money at a problem, and not all garages are well qualified to work on modern vehicles. I said that was fine, but wanted to make sure that Nissan might be able to help me out before I went to the trouble. He said that IS something that Nissan does, but couldnt make any guarantees because they look at each case individually. He also said that they do good will warranties all the time past the standard warranty of the vehicle.I begged for some sort of criteria they looked for because in order for Nissan to look at my Quest, it was going to cost me $120 and half a day to diagnose the problem by the time I drove for an hour and a half to the nearest Nissan dealership. I wasnt keen on the idea of wasting my time and money if there was no chance of getting financial assistance. With no criteria to offer me, I took the risk, because I felt surely a reputable auto manufacturer would acknowledge that spending $1000 for repair parts on a non-wear item at 70,000 miles is a bit outrageous. It took Nissan a few days to look at my circumstance. I was sorely disappointed. Not only did they decline to help me out, the explanation they gave me was that it was out of warranty. NO WAAAYYY! Since that time I requested the case be escalated, however Nissan wont return my calls.Ill be honest. Im not fun to talk to about this. I dont curse at those poor people on the phone, but I feel strongly that a brand new car taken good care of should make to at least 100,000 miles with no concerns. Im sorely disappointed with the ability to work with customers, and of course even more disappointed in my van, which I used to like. Now I have reservations that the vehicle I purchased new to depend on to transport my family safely, is not as reliable as I had previously believed. Nor is the company that built it have any concerns about instilling confidence in its customers after their Nissans fail them.I will not be buying another Nissan, nor would I recommend one to anyone else. Im not certain that another manufacturer would have handled the circumstance any differently, but I know how Nissan handled it. Fool me once... Take my advice. Take a warranty seriously. 36,000 miles isnt much, and take tracked reliability ratings seriously. I wish I had. Oh, and dont buy a Nissan.

Consider this. I have a 2011 Rogue and found out the CVT needs replacing. Since Nissan has created a monopoly around their CVT you cannot find parts to rebuild as you cannot buy them. The only way is to replace the entire CVT which you must purchase from Nissan. Ever wonder how they extended the warranty for 2008-2010 only but did the extension in 2014? They knew that the 2011, 2012, 2013 would all have the same problems. Maybe not enough complaints at that time for those years. So I checked the warranty on the brand new replacement CVT direct from Nissan and installed by Nissan... 12 months/20000kms. Although the exact same CVT on a brand new 2017 comes with 5years/60000km warranty. Read between the lines... Nissan cannot even back their own monopoly on CVT with a decent warranty. What a crock of **. Bye bye Nissan FOREVER. The GM of the dealership wont even return my call, probably because he has no excuses for the crap product the CVT is. Someone start a class action and take Nissan and their CRAP CVT down.

****AVOID NISSAN.**** AVOID NISSAN.**** I hate writing about this, but I told them I would so I will. I bought a Nissan Versa about 5 years ago. I wish I had used Google and listened to my wife. If Id simply done a search I wouldve discovered a design flaw in the transmission from that period of vehicles. I thought, Hey, an import. Good on gas and reliable, right? ... Not this one. What I needed was a vehicle that will be good on gas, relatively comfortable and reliable. The car I had previously was a Toyota Echo. I drove it for 350,000 miles and sold it for $300. I never had any engine or transmission trouble at all. Being a design flaw problem, I asked Nissan for help twice. I got nothing. They said no for any help. I wouldve even gone for a 50/50 on their $3800 transmission. $1900 each? Cmon you multi-billion dollar automotive manufacturer!! The car has 164,000 miles on it and is now, an expensive paperweight.Knowing that I put about 2500 miles/month on my vehicles, you know that it is a good testing ground. No abuse, just many highway miles. It is in my professional opinion that Nissan ... sucks. I encourage everyone to avoid Nissan, not because I think all of their vehicles are crap, I dont, but because they DO NOT stand behind a product they KNOW is flawed from the beginning. Im off to listen to Deftones and look for another car now. (whispers) ... Nissan sucks.

I purchased a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in October of 2008, with about 20,000 miles from Stockton Nissan. About 3 years ago the VDC Off light came on. I took the car to Stockton Nissan to have the transmission flushed and asked them about the light (The car had less than 60,000 miles at the time). Was given an estimate of $1500 for the ABS Actuator Sensor/Pump and $600 to install for a whopping total of $2100.00. I declined because other than the Idiot lights the car runs good and the mechanical gauges all check out. Then the BRAKE light and ABS light. Then the check engine lights started coming on and off and the speedometer and odometer would go on and off with them. However, my car registration is due in December of this year so I need to smog it. I took it to a shop and they charged me $400 to replace the speed sensor on the right front tire. It smogged, but 400 dollars later I still have all of the Idiot Lights off and no speedometer or odometer. I have contacted the Nissan Consumer 800 number 3 different times. Nothing was done. This should be a RECALL since other Nissan owners are having the same issues. I guess since it is not a SAFETY ISSUE, Nissan can get away with ignoring this issue. This is my 4th Nissan AND WILL BE MY LAST NISSAN, unless this issue is addressed by Nissan. By the way, this is first review/complaint I have ever written.

Been taking my Nissan 07 Pathfinder with 47,000 miles to the dealership for maintenance since I leased then bought it. Over two to three years Ive been reporting a sound coming from the car as I accelerated up to 25 then again at 40 mph. This problem was never resolved because it came and went and it almost never surfaced when I would bring the car in for maintenance. They would tell me its the heat shields and tighten them but the noise would return. I had scheduled a 45,000 mile maintenance and on the way to the dealership my engine began to rumble then the service engine light came on where. I was told by the adviser that a coil and a platinum spark plug needed to be replaced to fix the engine misfire. I was given a loaner and they worked on my car for two days. I got my car back and everything seemed fine, the engine light was off, car was smooth. A little more than a week later after I dropped off my wife at work, the engine started to act up and rumble and engine light came on again. I was not far from the dealership so I decided take it in. All of a sudden, halfway to the dealership, I cannot drive past 25 mph and the car starts to make the noise its been making when I accelerated to 25 and 40 mph, the same noise Ive been complaining about for about 3 yrs and now its amplified. I told the service adviser about the incident and told it could possibly be the catalytic converter which is covered under warranty until 2015 by federal emissions law so it would be no cost to me to be replaced. I needed to go to work so again I was given a loaner and the job took two days. I received a call from Nissan and was told that the catalytic was very clogged and parts broke off damaging the engine and it was going to cost $6,600 or more to rebuild or replace the engine. My warranty inconveniently expired three months ago. How can this happen to a car with low miles and with an excellent maintenance record? Shouldnt Nissan be responsible?

I own an Altima and the drivers and passenger sides floor boards are rusting through, as well as my flex pipe that connects to the catalytic converter. Last but not least, oil pan is also rusting through. This seems to be a defect with Nissan, yet they will not take ownership of the issue. After much research, I found that I am not the only consumer who has this issue. No one can tell me that after only 7 years that this is normal for a car to rust like this. I also own a 2000 Chevy that has not rusted like my Nissan. On top of my car being a rust bucket, it also has an issue where if you move my car a few feet and turn it off, it will not start. I have brought it to a local Nissan dealer for this issue and was told nothing was wrong with my car. Again, after researching this issue, it also seems to be a problem with the 06 Altima that Nissan will not take ownership of. I will never buy another Nissan again!

I bought a 1989 Nissan Hard body pickup (D21) from a friend. The DMV (Riverside, California) allowed me to register it but said I must send a certified letter to Nissan Corporation to obtain the Title. So I sent Nissan a certified letter requesting a title and they sent it back to me without even opening the letter. Then the DMV said that I needed to buy a bond and they (the DMV) would make me a new Title. So I bought a bond and gave it to the DMV. Then I received a letter from the DMV from Sacramento, California stating that I would still need to contact Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation to obtain a Title. My friend paid this truck off back in 1994. There is no reason that I know of for Nissan to withhold the Title. I cannot get in touch with anyone from the company. Bought the used 2012 Nissan Sentra S in July and after starting to drive it, kept hearing a popping and clunking noise coming from the passenger side rear area. Pops and snaps when turning the wheel right and braking and straightening the steering. I have spoken with other owners of the Nissan Sentra and they have the same issues. Some customers have spent lots of money trying to resolve the issue but I think Nissan needs to step up and take the responsibility for a faulty design. Other Nissans owners are having the same issues. Scary to drive and seems difficult to diagnose, but may be coming from the steering or wheel area. I took my 2008 Nissan Rogue to get new tires. When the tire shop took the old tires off, they discovered that the tire pressure sensors were corroded and loose and couldnt be tightened. Their policy is that they cant replace the tires without replacing the sensors because that would be disabling a safety feature. So, I had them replace the two worst sensors at a cost of $300.00, more than the cost of two tires, and put the new tires on. The other two sensors were corroded also, but they could still be tightened. Upon leaving the store, I went to the Nissan dealer to see if I could get some compensation for this because the car was only 4 years old with 59,000 miles. I was told that I couldnt because the work was done somewhere besides the dealer. I had no choice but to get the work done by the tire shop because they couldnt send the car out the door with the safety feature disabled. Next I went to a Consumer Affairs website and found out that there was a recall on 2008 Nissan Rogues for said tire pressure sensors. The service manager at the Nissan dealer never mentioned this recall. I then called Ken **, the GM at the Nissan dealer, explained the situation and mentioned that I knew about the recall. At this point, he said the recall was VIN specific and that my vehicle was not covered. Obviously, if my vehicle isnt covered, it should be because the problem is the same as the one covered by the recall. Shouldnt I be compensated for the cost of the sensors and have the other two replaced at no cost?

I bought a Certified Used 2010 Nissan Murano SL with 31,339 miles on 01/31/2013 from Crowley Chrysler Plymouth, Inc. I also opted for the Nissan Security Plus Extended Protection Plan when I bought the car. I am very happy with the car and all of the car’s features. It is exactly what my wife and I needed. I do, however, have one issue since buying the car.On 03/11/2013, I took the car in to my local dealer for routine servicing. The car had 34,099 miles at the time. The dealer asked if the car had its 30,000 mile servicing. I did not know, but I assumed the answer was yes since the car was certified. I had attempted to get the service records on the car from Crowley, but they declined to give them to me saying that there were privacy concerns giving me another client’s maintenance records (I thought this was odd at the time, but did not challenge it). My current dealer offered to check with Crowley service to see if the car did in fact receive its 30,000 mile servicing. The answer he got was no. So I requested that this servicing be done and also asked for the car to be inspected.Upon receiving my bill, I was a little shocked. The bill was $1,393.01! Here is what was done: 30,000 mile required maintenance per Nissan manual; the car needs 4 new tires to pass inspection. The rear two tires tread was below standard, and the front two were very close to being below standard. Since this is an all-wheel drive car, the dealers recommended that all four tires be replaced. I agreed; and the alignment was out on all four tires, therefore an alignment was required. Since I was buying a certified used car, I did not expect any of these issues to be present. Question: shouldnt these issues have been taken care of by the dealer that sold me the car? Resolution: after several conversations with Nissan, I was told that there was nothing that Nissan could do, and that I should try to work something out with the two dealerships.Nissan Certified Vehicles Program is a scam. It allows the dealership to ask more for a certified vehicle, but gives the client no assurance that they are getting something in the deal. Unless you are willing to check all of the 150+ items on the certified checklist prior to purchase, you will be holding the bag if something is wrong later. In my case, the rear tires were just in spec. (5/32) at the dealership where I bought the car and not able to be inspected (2/32) on my first visit to my local dealership a little over 2,000 miles later. Nissan did not stand behind their process and left me in the middle between two dealerships - a losing proposition for anyone finding themselves in this position.

The national corporate Nissan office surprised me with their response. I had called simply to vent about my treatment at Pohanka Nissan in Fredericksburg, VA. I did not expect them to actually stand behind their product. They listened politely to me and said they would review the problems and get back to me.They called me daily with updates and totally resolved it within a week by compensating me 100% of the transmission replacement. They were amazing as I never expected this response. The only reason that I did not change their rating to 5-stars was the horrible treatment by their Fredericksburg, VA dealership, Pohanka. They were rude and incompetent. For examples on Pohanka, they deceitfully tried to sell my wife higher grade oil changes than recommended by the manufacturer. Just this week, I had to repair a vacuum hose that my Goodyear mechanic said almost certainly resulted from poor installation of the transmission last month by Pohanka. The Pohanka Service Representative actually blamed me for the failure of the $3,800 transmission - you can only guess how that went over with me.I have dealt with many Nissan dealerships and have been very pleased with all but Pohanka. The obvious solution is to continue to buy Nissan products but not from Pohanka. Nor would I recommend that anyone services their car with Pohanka. Again, I was not happy about the transmission but the National Corporate Nissan office was amazing in resolving the problem to our satisfaction. They won me back big time with their incredible response to back up their product with a long term customer.

No responsibility for a defected paint job because it was contracted out according to the Nissan North America rep that just called me back. This is sad and I will make sure I put this in as many places possible to be visible to your other consumers. In short, I bought a Black 2015 Nissan Altima less than 5 months ago. I have THOUSANDS of light scratches all over the car. It seems just looking at it scratches it. Its clearly a defect in the clear coat and or paint. The service manager at Nissan agreed it does not seem normal and the rep from Nissan North America would not clearly admit the same but did say I was an advocate for you to help but the decision was made not to do anything because its not a warranty coverage and its contracted out. So what. Nissan needs to take some responsibility. I owned a 2010 Black Chevy Cobalt for over 4 years and had way less paint damage when I traded it in 5 months ago. Obviously something is wrong with the paint or clear coat. I have tried taking better care of the Altima than I did my Cobalt. Rightfully so because its about twice the price. Nissan you made a great car and I love it.

Walked in ready to give birth wanting 2 fresh new safe vehicles for our baby and thats what we are sold. I will never recommend Nissan to anyone I know. I tell everyone the worst of it to make sure they arent being taken advantage of either. I am sickened by this dealership and anyone who has the heart to sell an unsafe vehicle to anyone walking through their doors. Reason of review: Damaged or defective. Monetary Loss: $15000. Preferred solution: Price reduction.

The Nissan van I have purchased is having problems with its digital dash board (distance, gas, hot/cold readout). I live in Washington, D.C. My vehicle will not pass inspection if they cannot see the mileage on my vehicle. Through discussing this problem with the vehicle inspectors in Washington, D.C. area, they have informed me that most Nissan made cars are experiencing this similar problem. I have also found other Nissan owners who are experiencing the same problems. I feel as though, since this is an important issue and it seems to be a common issue, that Nissan should fix this problem with either no or minimal charge.

It started out that my A/C would not work if I was sitting still. We called Nissan service and asked them what it could be. They listed a few different things. And none of them were your transmission could be getting contaminated with radiator fluid. Then on Christmas, our heat stopped working. My father-in-law had my husband check the radiator fluid. It was low so they filled it up. And everything was fine. No one still had any idea what was going wrong. Then in March 2010, I went to pull out into traffic. My car had a hard time switching gears and picking up speed. It just suddenly happened it was driving fine. And then, nope not anymore! Thank the Lord I am one of those drivers who wants the road to be almost clear. Because if not, I would have had a bad accident. So then, I called some people. And at that time, no one still knew what was going on. We have some Nissan techs that are friends. So, I guess Nissan finds out the problem somehow, but they will not help anyone out. Even if you got all your services, this would not have been caught. Nissan needs to man up and fix these cars! I have called National Highway at 888-327-4236 and have made a complaint! Please everyone, do the same.

I purchased a second Nissan vehicle from National Motors on 12/17/2013. I had to trade in my previous 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe because the car would not start. I changed the battery and received three jump starts and the vehicle would not turn on. I found out later that the Nissan Manufacturer was aware of a steering lock issue and did not recall the vehicle or notify customers of the vehicle that this issue would occur. The same date I purchased the second vehicle from National Motors, I noticed my locks did not work. The driver side door unlocked from the outside using the key, but the other three doors would not respond to the key, only making the locking noise. I contacted Dwight, a car sales man and was told my locks would be fixed once the locks were ordered. They would fix my tail light and the locks because the tail light also had an issue. In January, Dwight advised that the locks were on back order but should arrive within another two weeks after the call. I called the dealership every week for a status update on the locks and continued to get the run around. Dwight stated someone from the dealership would call me in regards to the locks on 2/13/14 after stating he was no longer dealing with this anymore. No one called. Last week, 2/18-2/20 I was advised by Dwight that the owner of the dealership, Brian, decided to no longer fix my locks. Dwight stated that the locks were ordered and Brian returned the locks to the warehouse stating that he was no longer going to repair the doors. My father contacted the dealership on 2/21/14 and John advised that I go to my local Best Buy to get a remote sensor. On 2/22/14 I was told by a Best Buy Installer that the sensor would not fix the locks because there is something wrong with the car. Since the key opens one of the doors, the installer stated that the remote sensor is not the issue. There is something wrong with the doors. John ** then stated to me and the installer of Best Buy that the dealership was made aware of the issues with the door prior to my purchase and still decided to sell the car to me. There is no information on the website stating the door is defective nor is it reflected in the contract or discounted from the price of the car. This same day, the Best Buy installer contacted John and told him that the locks would not be fixed by Best Buy. John told me to come to the dealership to trade the car because they would not fix the locks. Unfortunately, throughout this ordeal and the back and forth between me and the dealership, my finance company has not received the first payment which was due on 2/11/14. I was afraid of making the payment because I was not sure if I would be able to keep the car or not. The locks not working is a safety issue and deceptive for the dealer to even think to allow a consumer to purchase the vehicle at full price without advising of the issues with the car. The date of 2/22/14, the owner Brian would not allow me to test drive a vehicle until a sales man had his appointment. I waited two hours for the sales rep even though his appointment didnt come in until two hours after I had already waited. The owner Brian continued to laugh and eat his food in the back as if I was not waiting to test drive a car. During this instance, I was still not offered any accommodations for my situation. This situation has caused me a lot of time, energy, and credit. I have contacted Nissan through the Better Business Bureau and they refuse to help me, even though this issue has occurred with thousands of Nissan customers. I will continue to voice my experience until someone fixes my locks, refunds my deposit, or trades this vehicle. This experience is a reason I will NEVER buy from Nissan again nor will I ever buy a car from this dealership. Nissan should offer extended warranty for situations that are beyond the customers control. Based on their response that I do not qualify for the issue to be resolved through them because the car is a 2009 is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER deal with Nissan again!

And its all the same all over. I will not pay for another repair that I already paid for. This is crap. Nissan better step up and take care of this. Toyota got beaten to death. I am the original owner of a 2006 Nissan Xterra. On Oct. 25, 2017 I took my Xterra in to be serviced as a preventative measure since I was recently informed of a radiator/transmission problem with the Xterra, Pathfinder and Frontier models 2005-2010. After speaking with my neighbor who also has a 2006 Xterra and replaced his radiator; I decided to have my radiator replaced as well (even though I experienced no problems with it) just so I could prevent any infusion of coolant into the transmission.Much to my surprise Nick called me with the bad news that damage was already done & would cost $6,800 to replace the radiator, transmission and fluids. This also included labor costs. Being fearful of a potential problem I did not want to wait 2 weeks for both the arrival of a new transmission & the mechanics return from vacation; I chose to take the vehicle to another shop. At shop #2 the mechanic informed me there was nothing wrong with the transmission and could not see what the mechanic at Nissan (Greg) claimed to have found; e.g. leakage of coolant and lots of rust in the transmission and on the fluid stick. He did however, find a petroleum based substance in the radiator and was his opinion that oil was placed in the coolant.Upon having the radiator flushed & bypassed from the coolant entering the transmission, replacing the thermostat & radiator cap (due to damage of the rubber seals from the oil) the cost was $677.84 with labor included; an expense I should never have had to endure. On Nov. 8, 2017 I spoke with Jack **, MGR and shared the findings of the 2nd mechanic. In a nutshell he basically told me he could not help me and stood by his mechanic’s findings. He went on to say “Sorry for your loss” and “If the vehicle was running good at this time he recommended that I sell it”. I have always trusted Nissan to provide excellent care and stand by their products. I have had my vehicle serviced only with Nissan for the past 11 yrs; with Montrose Nissan for the past 7 years. I am sorry to say “they have certainly dropped the ball this time” and me being the loyal compliant customer will not be returning from this point on.

Any Nissan dealership that has been in business since 2013 knowingly participated in consumer fraud with corporate guidance. They knowingly sold defective vehicles that put the consumers safety in jeopardy and our court system gave them a slap on the wrist. The class action lawsuit attorneys make bank and the consumers were stuck with the aftermath. At first Nissan claimed that a computer program upgrade would fix the issue and they knew it would not. They string you along stating that they are working on a fix, but it never came while I was under their warranty. They say they have a fix now but they want me to pay for half of it because I am just out of warranty. They never told me about the fix while I was in warranty. The fix is only as good as their word and their word has no value. What are they hiding currently? You will not know until it is too late. The whole lot of them are fraudsters that can not be trusted. Buy a Nissan of any make at your own peril. As Americans we should unite and stand outside of every Nissan dealer in America on as often as possible but especially on Saturdays until they go out of business in America. That is about the only recourse we have for these lawbreakers that our Government is allowing to stay in business in this country. Now you cannot say that you have not been warned.

I own a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE& a 2009 Sentra FE both with transmiss
I own a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE& a 2009 Sentra FE both with transmission issues, the Pathfinder was not a part of a recall with the radiator that did the transmission cooling as well as engine cooling. Radiator developed a crack between the coolant and ATF CHAMBER AND THE FLUIDS MIXED, my car was running perfectly until this happened, then the transmission started to slip. When I went to Nissan they said my vehicle vin was not apart of the recall so I would not receive a warranty extension/replacement or reimbursement to the tune of $6,000 + if I repaired it myself. I spent over $36,000 on the purchase of the SUV brand new 0 miles except for the few I put on it in a test drive. Needless to say this is not an isolated issue, the web is full of complaints like this with Nissans faulty radiator. Now my poor car just sits, I still maintain her, changing the oil, air in tires starting her, wash her, I paid off the car so its just a waste. Then comes 2009. I still have confidence in Nissan even though they screwed me and 4 of my other extended family members with the same issue with their Frontier, Xterra, Armada, and Quests. We have always been a Datsun, Nissan loyalist but after my current issue with a 2009 Sentra with a CVT transmission issue. Im over Nissan and so are my family members. We have as a family given Nissan close to half a million dollars in vehicles that cant even last 10 years. We are all switching to Honda/ Toyota/Subaru, from now on, shame, I was looking at the gtr too. Nissan can take their failed business and product and shove it. Im tired of Japanese companies adopting failed American business practices, no loyalty to the customer/consumer anymore after they have our money. Everytime I see a Nissan I warn the driver of the radiator issue. I have found with one random person I was able to see the oil mixing already when he checked his radiator reservoir with me there because he was confident I was crazy, when he saw his radiator reservoir had oil he thanked me and said he was going to the dealership to get the radiator replaced before its too late. I felt accomplished but pissed because had I known I would have had the radiator replaced, recall or not, if your radiator does your atf cooling I recommend getting an external separate ATF cooler regardless if its an issue or not. I have recently purchased a Subaru and looking to purchase a Honda this weekend, Subaru understood my issue and offered to put in a separate atf cooler with the purchase. I will be asking Honda to do the same. Per Subaru, most manufactures are going that route by having a combined radiator. But I will no longer go this route with any other future purchases, Ill have them separate the cooling or not purchase.

A 2015 Nissan Murano I leased in February 2015 was in the service department for 45 days. I was highly unhappy and wanted Nissan Consumer Affairs to either take the car back or exchange for a functioning one. Nissan consumer affairs was dismissive, vague, uninterested in the hardships I endured, and ignored the many valid complaints and concerns I had. They sent me generic letters only and in the last month never returned my calls. This company has become a joke, and I am proud to say I have already deterred 2 friends from buying a new Nissan. In customer service, the customer should be heard. Not dismissed!

I have a leaking sending unit on my 2015 Nissan Sentra. I opened a case report with Nissan Corporation 2 weeks ago, Sept 1, but have not received a call back from Nissan during normal business hours despite 6 calls Ive made to the Nissan Customer Representative over the past 2 weeks. Nissan has a recall for the same problem -- on the 2015 Altima and 2015 Maxima -- an improperly installed ring on the sending unit, resulting in leaking fuel. I cannot get any assistance from Nissan as of today, August 12.Additionally Nissan sent me a letter earlier this year (the letter of course is not dated but I received it this past spring 2019) advising that I might have a complete blockage..in the EVAP tube located between the fuel tank and the evaporative emission canister. While this is different from the problem of the leaking sending unit, it illustrates that Nissan clearly has multiple problems with defective fuel pump assembly parts and/or improperly installed fuel pump assembly parts.

Seeing the number of negative reviews with no intended solutions on Nissans behalf, Ive decided to Never ever purchase a vehicle from Nissan again or any of their affiliated brands! I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa Note at Gladstone Nissan. Navigation system
I purchased a 2014 Nissan Versa Note at Gladstone Nissan. Navigation system has never worked right & I spent 5 weeks taking it back & contacting dealership. They never had service handle my complaints but rather had the salesman troubleshoot to no avail. I no longer had the time to drive there & sit & especially since I did not give good survey results on Nissan survey - have been confronted by dealership employees including GM (Why would Nissan share that information that I was promised was anonymous only to be confronted personally & by phone? Nissan failed to honor their word & placed me in harms way. What was the purpose of the surveys - to punish the consumer who answers honesty?). No interest in resolving multitude of problems Ive had with the dealership, including getting my address correct, providing me with promised paperwork, deceptive practices in including other warranties with contract & being uncooperative in cancelling the contracts (see Edmunds.com consumer reviews - this is their standard). Worse yet, there are 2 recalls already - not even a month old. Nissan Consumer Affairs is a big waste of time & patronizing - they claimed they could not consider more actions because I do not have documented return visits for the car (once again, the dealership at fault) & did not return the car for recall campaigns (I did some 3 weeks prior to CA claim) at a different dealership. They have no course of action intended apparently except to not help the customer - who buys a new car which does not work as promised & identifies problem immediately. The other dealership ordered a replacement navigation system, except that they cant get them in because it is too new a car. So how am I to resolve a problem with a new car which Im stuck with when there is no one in the hierarchy of Nissan NA taking responsibility for their cars, dealerships and customer satisfaction promise? Now the ceiling in the car needs repaired. I would not recommend Nissan because they fail to support their guarantee and do nothing to resolve problems with their dealerships & car defects. I have logged some dozen hours in calls to no avail. I have new car payments on a limited income, poor health & a navigation system I purchased to navigate in a new area to get to many medical appointments/tests. Consequences of buying a Nissan: I have a new car that has a navigation screen that has pop-ups that block all visibility of the map & have expended hours lost, on the side of the road trying to clear it, and deteriorating health as a result. I have spent hours trying to contact third party vendors to cancel non-negotiated contracts & updating my mailing address because of incompetence & unethical designs of dealership. It is helpful to share my plight in social media to warn future buyers to steer away from the Nissan Versa Note, Nissan N.A., Gladstone Nissan, so that my experiences are not repeated.

Sucks and will never buy another Nissan for the rest of my living life. Bad experience from customer service to corporate office. This all started when I took my Nissan to my local Nissan dealer and nothing is ever cover under warranty meanwhile I have warranty for the next 10 years or 100 mile bumper to bumper that I bought through Nissan themselves. My car is 2 years old with 25,000 miles and my headlights are starting to peel which means The car is very hard to drive at night time. Sometimes I feel that I might get into a car accident and Nissan did nothing for me. They just say, “Sorry you’re screwed. If you want new headlights you have to pay out-of-pocket.” Always trying to make the customer pay. My question is what kind of products are theyre making that does not even last two years? That’s the problem. My case number is **. P.S. Denis Le Vot sir with all respect your company needs to make better products and treat better the customers because you just lost one of them. Maybe it’s not gonna hurt anything but is not going to hurt me anymore. Thanks.

My family and I were debating about purchasing a new 2016 Nissan Rouge thin
My family and I were debating about purchasing a new 2016 Nissan Rouge thinking it was a safe and a reliable family car but encountering these extremely dangerous mechanical issues I faced with my family in the car going 65 mph on the interstate had me thinking otherwise. The transmission fails when needing to accelerate then cuts back on after we just nearly missed getting into an accident with an 18 wheeler. This car is unsafe and was recalled by Nissan to get this issue fixed so I mean, they should be aware of this problem with these cars now that we are out of the extended warranty. Ms Amber ** the manager and Joe the specialist both specified (that they are not in the position to do anything) for our family that they are sorry, OK, thank you. Just like that she ended the conversation. So now that you know they will not back up their product and at least help the cost of repair or completely exchanging it for the type 2 transmission for the car, please dont buy a Nissan. Read all defects and reviews, know how many people they have turned away because of this problem. Please choose a safer car for your family to drive in. Thank you for your time.

This is a reliable vehicle. It is small and has a sporty feel but still feels safe. It handles well & acceleration. The trunk area is quite small but I can fit a surprising amount of stuff in the car with the seats down. One of the most important features I was looking for this time around was a vehicle with AWD. I found my previous car slip-sliding around in the big rainstorms we had over the last few years and I wanted to solve that problem for a safer, less-stressful commute. The Nissan Juke has good gas mileage, comfortable seats and good power uphill (my commute home includes a long trek into the foothills). My major complaint is the small gas tank! I have to refuel multiple times a week for commute. Stil, I would recommend this car.

I found the recall and the campaign on the highway safety commissions website for the 2005 Nissan Armada fuel sending units. On 11/7/2014 my husband was driving my 2005 Nissan Armada at 3 AM on the busy 5 Lane Highway in Washington state at 65 mph. My SUV came to a abrupt stop in the middle of the highway. It would not turn over to start. The hazard lights would not come on. The state police put out 15 road flares and still they were both almost hit by three trucks and two cars. My Armada showed I had a quarter of a tank of gas. I had to have my sub towed to Campbell Nelson Nissan dealership in Edmonds Washington. Robert, the service manager called and advised me that the fuel sending unit was bad. It shows I have a quarter of a tank but I was really out of gas. John, the manager told me thats what he suspected was wrong with my SUV. John also advised me that there was a warranty on the fuel sending unit but it was only for 72,000 miles but at the least I feel that I should not get stuck with the bill because I bought the car used and had no clue that they had this issue or that it would almost cause the life of my husband or an innocent state trooper. I feel Nissan should open the recall and extend the warranty for the 2005 Nissan Armada fuel sending units. I know only certain 2005 models were in the campaign and recalled but this is what was wrong with my Armada the same thing Nissan campaign for. I want Nissan to cover the bill. Its an unsafe issue and if you guys do not reopen this recall Nissan is going to get somebody killed. If I have to take it to my Lawyer then so be it.

I am the owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue S AWD Special Edition. Prior to this vehicle I have bought Two and Leased Two, and believe me there is No Loyalty from this company. My complaint with Nissan is - on Sept. 2014 I brought my car to the Dealer MLG #34,387 Newburgh Nissan NY for CVT transmission problems. Went to the local dealership twice for assistance in obtaining a nav update
Went to the local dealership twice for assistance in obtaining a nav update for my 2013 Pathfinder. Got bounced between the Head of Service and Parts multiple times and was finally told I guess you have to go online. Well after searching for about two hours I came across a Nissan page with a map update promising to be the latest and guaranteed to work on my vehicle. I placed that order. This was on a Friday morning. As I checked out and finalized the order I was redirected to none other than the main site for Nissan Nav updates that I had been searching for on the web for hours. Unfortunately, running my nav and vin showed that the order just placed was a three year old update. Finally found the correct update, ordered it and placed a call to customer service to cancel the first order. Sat on hold for an hour and got cut off. So I sent an email to customer service explaining the problem. No luck speaking to anyone Saturday when they stated they were open just another hour on hold, Monday evening sat on hold for an hour till someone picked up. Was helpful and said hed put me on hold for a few minutes and text instructions to return the first order on their dime when it arrived, and oh, by the way he said that one would NOT work in my vehicle. After about 3 minutes I got a fast busy, then a long squeal and then sat on hold in silence for another 45 minutes till I gave up. Now another email to customer service - their response was when it arrives call customer service - thanks but no thanks - Ive filed a complaint with Paypal which I used to pay the first order. Will try again tomorrow. I know for a FACT Toyota, Chevy, Ford, even Hyundai and Kia have customer service that is FAR superior to Nissan, this was the last thing I expected, God help me if I ever have a real problem. This will be my last Nissan. It is back to Toyota, Chevy or Ford for this man, Ive had them all, plus Hyundai and Kia all have better service and run just as good and have just as few, likely less problems and the body integrity on all of them is much better.

I have experienced multiple major issues that required me to repair my car
I have experienced multiple major issues that required me to repair my car at a huge expense. These are issues that car owners should not experience during the timeframes that I have owned my vehicle. They have caused an extreme amount of stress and required a large amount of time to fix. I purchased my car new, direct from the Nissan dealer. Some of the issues I have experience is as follows. Right when I was leaving for the airport for my honeymoon, the key would not turn in the ignition and the car would not turn on. I almost missed my flight to the airport. Later, after major diagnosis, it turns out the pins in the ignition moved, which would not allow the key to turn. One entire summer, the engine temperature gauge would shoot up after I drove my car for 15 minutes. My engine would constantly overheat, the A/C would turn off, and I would have to pull over to cool my engine down. It turns out the radiator was malfunctioning, which was a very difficult problem to diagnose and required multiple assessments. My newest problem is that my key no longer works and Nissan wants to charge me $500 to get new keys because they have worn out. I contacted Nissan, asking for financial assistance because I believe that keys should last the lifetime of the vehicle. Nissan told me that because my car is outside of warranty, they are not legally obligated to help me. This shows me that Nissan does not care about its customers at all. For an issue like this, Nissan should fix a key outside of warranty. I have only owned my car for 6 years. I am no longer a loyal Nissan customer and will be purchasing my next car from another company. My dad has been trying to tell me to sell my car and I think he is right. I have had enough.
