2025 Mazda CX-5

Find big savings on Mazda Automobile(s) at Auto Helpers. Low Prices.

The 2025 Mazda CX-5 continues as one of the most important vehicles in Mazda’s lineup, blending premium styling, engaging driving dynamics, and everyday practicality. While it remains a compact SUV, it carries the feel of something more refined and upscale, appealing to buyers who want both style and substance without stepping into the luxury segment.

On the outside, the CX-5 keeps Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy alive, characterized by smooth, flowing lines and a sculpted appearance that looks athletic yet elegant. The 2025 model refines the familiar shape with slimmer LED headlights, a bold mesh grille, and subtle chrome accents that add sophistication. Its proportions strike a balance between sportiness and utility, and higher trims feature larger alloy wheels and unique finishes to distinguish them.

Inside, the CX-5 offers a cabin that rivals many luxury brands in design and materials. The use of soft-touch surfaces, leather upholstery on higher trims, and minimalist yet functional design make it feel premium. The front seats are supportive, designed for both spirited driving and long-distance comfort, while the rear seats provide ample legroom for passengers. The cargo area is practical for the segment, easily accommodating family trips or daily errands.

Technology plays a central role in the 2025 CX-5. A standard digital instrument cluster, a large central touchscreen, and updated infotainment software ensure seamless connectivity. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while higher trims offer premium audio systems and advanced navigation. Mazda has focused on simplifying the interface while maintaining physical controls for climate and essential functions, a choice many drivers appreciate for usability.

Under the hood, the 2025 CX-5 offers two powertrains. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder making around 187 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive. For those wanting more punch, the turbocharged 2.5-liter option delivers up to 256 horsepower when using premium fuel, offering a lively driving experience uncommon in the compact SUV class. Both engines balance performance with efficiency, though the turbo stands out for drivers who prioritize acceleration and responsiveness.

One of the CX-5’s strongest traits remains its driving dynamics. Unlike many crossovers that lean heavily toward comfort, Mazda engineers its SUVs to handle with agility. The steering is precise, body roll is well-controlled, and the suspension strikes a balance between sporty feel and ride comfort. This makes the CX-5 appealing to drivers who want an SUV that doesn’t sacrifice fun behind the wheel.

Safety is also a highlight. The 2025 CX-5 comes standard with Mazda’s i-Activsense suite of driver-assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims add features like a surround-view camera system and traffic jam assist for added convenience in daily driving.

Trim levels remain diverse, starting with well-equipped entry models and climbing to luxurious versions with Nappa leather, ventilated seats, and advanced audio. This gives buyers a wide range of options depending on whether they prioritize value, sportiness, or luxury touches.

In the compact SUV market, the 2025 CX-5 competes with models like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Hyundai Tucson, but it distinguishes itself with a sportier drive and premium feel. While some rivals offer more cargo space or hybrid powertrains, the CX-5’s emphasis on performance and design makes it a unique choice.

The 2025 Mazda CX-5 is best suited for drivers who want the practicality of a small SUV but aren’t willing to give up an engaging driving experience or an upscale cabin. It continues to be one of the most driver-focused options in its class while delivering comfort, safety, and refinement that make it equally suitable for families and commuters.

I bought my Mazda 6 brand new almost 2 years ago and havent had any trouble with it at all. My Mazda is very well designed. My car is very well designed and has all of the current options available. It is comfortable and the ride is quiet. It handles well in bad weather. I love the many features such as the blind spot monitor, tire pressure monitor, Navigation system, Boise radio, Bluetooth for hands free phone and other features. I feel safe and confident driving my car. If I ever need or want to buy a new car again, I will buy another Mazda.

This vehicle has been very dependable with no major repairs needed. Ive been a bit disappointed as to the fuel economy. The model I purchased was a 4-cylinder. Ive only been getting around 25 mpg on the highway, not as fuel efficient as other 4-cylinder pickups Ive owned in the past. The interior is a bit cramped, but then again, it is a small pickup. Overall, Ive been happy with it. I may opt for a 6-cylinder pickup next time around which will be a bit more powerful than a 4-cylinder and still economical to drive.

I bought a CX7 8 days ago and its sitting in the shop. I was stuck with a friend 2 inches from traffic and 4 inches from running off the road. The shop that I was able to tow the car to says the engine was switched out. And nothing noted on Carfax. Also I HAVE NOT MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT ON THIS CAR. I WISH I COULD RATE THIS CAR A NEGATIVE BUT CANT BY THIS SYSTEM.

A few days ago I jumped in the Mazda 2016 CX-5 and the console keep rebooting. The Mazda logo came up but then I never went to the home screen. Have no navigation, no hands free phone and the radio is stuck on just one station, the last station I had on before the system went down. Called Mazda and they told me they dont know whats causing the problem so I shouldnt bother bringing it down for service. I have about 47K miles on it. I did purchase an extended warranty. So now what? Wait for Mazda to contact me? They told me that they are receiving a lot of calls on this problem right now. But it looks like its been going on for a while now.

I had happily owned 2 Mazda 6 2006 sedan and wagon and was considering another when the diesel comes out. That was last week. This week, without warning, the clutch pedal went to the floor and made a loud bang grinding noise. The car has extended warranty from Mazda. We had told Mazda for over a year, it was hard to get into reverse and the 1-2 chatter noise but never got any resolution on this. I took the car in and the dealer said it would be a clutch, which was not covered. I was not happy but somewhat ok with that. It turned out that when the part failed (Throwout bearing), it destroyed the transmission and that is not covered (Mazda Customer service must know about the problem as they tell you it is not covered and basically hang up on you).Same with MEPP, which I paid a great deal of money for bumper to bumper extended total care, which is supposed to cover manual transmission but somehow does not. I’m getting rid of both cars and may have to junk my other car, which went from being worth 10k to 0 in an instant by a bearing which should be covered. Don’t buy Mazda. They dont stand behind their products. Always dealer serviced and just was serviced and passed MAZDA (Green light thing they give you every time its serviced making you feel like its all good, which is a lie). $3,000.00 to replace the clutch is insane. Its not a skyline GTR.

Please let it be known that I nor my family will EVER be buying another Mazda ever again and I will be making it very public about how Mazda “helps” their customers. I leased a 2016 Mazda CX-5 after thinking it was the best decision for my family. I am now 8 months pregnant with my second child, have had the car for less than 2 years and the display screen is glitching. I found out it needs an infotainment display screen that will cost me $1200+. This is a MANUFACTURER issue and according to dealerships a known issue with these cars. It’s nothing I did and Mazda’s response back to me was, We can cover most of it but you will still have to pay about $400. So let me get this straight. I am LEASING and planned on financing what was at the time a brand new car in which a display screen went in less than 2 years which is a manufacturer issue so I cannot check any maintenance, no radio, etc. and I’m ** out of luck with getting it fixed? Great job Mazda. NEVER AGAIN.

I leased a Mazda 3, hatchback in August 2016. At my 10k servicing at the dealership, they indicated unusual wearing of tires. I asked for them to be replaced. They said no, it was a limited warranty on the tire. At 15k servicing, the same conversation. At 20k, the same conversation. Found out these tires on a new car, have no mileage warranty... at all. The dealership will not replace the tires. At 32 months of the lease and 22,700 miles they will do nothing. I like the car, but not the tires, and Mazda will do nothing, as the dealership watches a customer complain, and knows it is a problem. Others have complained about the same thing. I would not purchase or lease another auto from Mazda, or Groove Mazda, in Centennial. Really poor support of a customer. Not what anyone wants.

My wife purchased a brand new Mazda CX-3 GS and after just over 6,700 kms, when put into Drive it would take anywhere from 6-12 seconds to engage and move forward. It didnt even make it to the first oil change! We brought it into Regina Mazda and they were able to duplicate the problem. We were told that a new transmission would have to be ordered. However, they couldnt give me any sort of a timeline and couldnt locate any available assets in their system. Its been almost a week and we havent received any update from the dealership. We were given a Mazda 5 for a loaner but had to return it as it was their shuttle vehicle and then received a 2016 Mazda CX-5. Still waiting for update. :(

On January 20, I received a letter from Mazda Corporate due to certain issues with certain vehicles, including mine. From my understanding, the timing chain on certain models had turned out to be defective and this would extend the warranty for that specific part and problems caused by it to 70,000 miles. The letter advised that if the consumer experiences a ticking noise, they need to contact the closest Mazda Dealership. Never experiencing any problems, as mentioned above, I got curious and did some research which led me to find out that this problem had affected many so I decided to schedule an appointment for Friday, February 3, to which I never made it to.About a week after receiving the letter, my Mazdas engine failed at 67,000 miles. I was stuck under pouring, cold rain trying to push it off the road. After getting it towed to the North Penn Mazda Dealership, I was notified the following morning that my vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure. I researched it and came to the conclusion that the connecting rod between the crank shaft and the piston has broken causing it to go through the engine block and make a hole. The Mazda technician that inspected it told me that the failure most likely was not related to the timing chain but to make an accurate statement, they would need to open up the engine for which I would have to pay $800.00 to $1,000.00. I opened a case file with the corporate, which after contacting the dealership, told me that since the damage most likely is not related to the timing chain, Mazda was not liable regardless the fact that the source of the problem was not diagnosed. After getting many opinions from other technicians, I came to the conclusion that there is nothing that I, as a responsible consumer, could have done to prevent this from happening and that the engine was most likely poorly manufactured. I looked more in this matter and with simple sources of research I found out that there had been numerous similar cases throughout North America. With that in mind, I contacted the Service Manager at the Mazda Dealership seeking for help but I was shut down with two words out of warranty. The service manager told me that he understands my frustration and that when one purchases a $25,000 vehicle they expect to get more than 67,000 miles out of it, however, there was nothing he could do after contacting his corporate representative. After sending many emails I received a response from Mazda customer service explaining that if I did authorize the diagnosis and it resulted to show manufacturing defect, Mazda would cover the expenses to fix the damage. I called to confirm the email and after investigating the case, a gentleman from the customer service department left me a voice mail confirming the information. The following day I received another call from customer service stating that Mazda would not honor the statement made on the email and that no assistance will be offered. I requested to speak to a manager who got back to me two days later. Mr. G stated that Mazda will not offer any assistance of any form regardless the outcome of the diagnosis and the email sent did not imply what it stated.Meanwhile my technician had diagnosed the issue and had concluded that the damage was caused by bad assembly, poorly put together and that should be covered by the manufacturer. The conclusion, if I want to be able to drive this car again, I will need $6,000.00 plus taxes to replace the engine which I had no fault and no contribution in breaking.

Those should be covered under warranty but cheapskates at Mazda dont want to pay for the repair. I have records of all the services and do regular oil changes, but their product is crap. They say they will do nothing to help fix it because I havent been having it serviced through them and I show no customer loyalty. Six month later on March 27 2012, I had to take the car in because it was making a noise when I stopped. The dealer said I need new rotors and new brakes. I had driven the car 5000 miles since I bought the car. I felt the dealer made a false representation when they stated in writing I had 80% left on my brakes. Dealer refused to install the brakes at their expense which is what I believe they should have done. I dont believe I could have used 50 of the brakes in six months or 5,000 or 6,000 miles.

My car started hesitating for a couple of weeks. After my car was diagnosed and serviced for the alternator and wiring, another problem was diagnosed, a leak under the intake manifold (PCV hose). After the tuned of $1400 plus paid out, I drove it off the lot and the engine light came on. I turned around and brought it back. On 10/19/11, they kept the car. The next day the tech advised me that he drove it for 10 miles and nothing happened. My car remained with them again. They cleaned the connectors and tested the solonoid valve and they said it was okay. I picked it up on 10/20/11 and the same thing happened. They kept it. I picked it up the next day. On 10/21/11, again the light came on after leaving. I went home and called them. The tech stated it would cost me another $400.00 plus. What? I stated they should fix it because the engine light was not the problem. I brought it in for the alternator and wiring. What happened with my engine light? I took the car and went to work. There was no light on and then, the light was on, etc. Oh and by the way, they stated to me the valve with an open and shut flap could stay open or closed and I should not worry. They were lax in that statement. Do they not understand its my engine light? I have had my Mazda 6 for 5 1/2 years and never had a complaint regarding maintenance and repairs from the Mazda dealer before. What is going on? Or, is it just the Mazda dealers in Lodi, New Jersey? If theres a class action suit in the making, Im in.

I purchased a 2010 Mazda 6. The seat cover is changing, and is already showing signs of wear and tear. The car has 29,550 km. Mazda will not cover wear and tear. How is this, when the car is still new? It took me 7 months to actually have this done, and the dealer was not of much help, until I wrote a lot of e-mails to the management. Why is it that, in this day and age, warranty, or customer concerns are not dealt with properly. Mazda now tells me by email, that they are not responsible. Perhaps using substandard materials? They are now just duping their customers. Second problem is that my tires lose 0.5, to 3 lbs of pressure, within a two week period, per tire, but of course, Mazda is not responsible. The dealer had finally water tested, and found nothing. It is a slow leak. Doesnt any one offer customer service any more, or are they just passing the buck.I guess I have to do the leg work, and call Michelin. I also have to get the alloy rims checked. As far as the seat goes, well, I have to deal with it on my own, of course Im sure, they would have no problem selling me one. As a first time Mazda owner, take my advice, and do not buy this substandard garbage. GM Im coming back.

We purchased a new Mazda 6 and were being pushed in finance to purchase an alarm system for $350. My husband asked if the car already had an alarm system from manufacturer and we were told no. My husband thought it was odd so he asked again and the answer was still no! We then decided to purchase and later realized we have 2 alarms because it already has one. On top of this our dealer quit the next day and no one told us, so we continued to try to contact him and the rest of the staff seemed bothered when we had questions. Finally I call the manager (Mike **) about several issues and he would not return my calls. On his email responses he was rude and angry and refused to help us. I waited a week to fill out the survey to see how they would correct some of these issues and then finally I filled out the form truthfully. Mike then sends me a nasty, unprofessional email saying that because we gave him a poor score he no longer wanted to work with us! We were shocked. We bought a fully loaded CX5 in 8/14. It was the best decision weve made. Because of my back problems, I need to have a seat thats adjustable as well as an upright position. The CX5 provides that for me. Last summer we drove across the country and depending on my back, I was able to make adjustments to make it very comfortable for when I drove as well as being a passenger. The safety features such as the blind spot monitoring, the rear camera, and the automatic lights and windshield wipers were so helpful when driving. I felt so safe in this car. Mileage was good too, the car still has under 12K and were doing 26.7 mpg total. My only negative is that the rear hatch/door is not power controlled. In a fully loaded car I wouldve expected that, but it was not an option. I do want to note about some of the other reviews here - people need to explain their problems better. Owners also have to be realistic. How one drives a car does affect brakes. Front end Collisions only trigger front air bags (not side ones). Injuries can be caused by not wearing seat belts. And yes, sometimes cars have defects, but tens of thousands of cars are made of a particular model each year. A few will have problems from the get go. This is why many states have lemon laws. But if 5 people report the same problem, this is not a defect. Most likely your car got that 1 in 25,000 bad part. In that situation, if you can definitely prove it was Not your fault, you may get the maker to pay for the repair. But usually you cant, so hope the bill is low - that’s all.

I bought a 2008 Mazda Cx9 two weeks ago. The blower motor went out and I saw several complaint on that because of leaking water from the driver side. Secondly, when I release the break, it makes this hard click and when you change to drive or reverse. The car has 57k miles on it and for the year, that is too many problems. They should make a recall on that blower motor and the water leaking from the a/c. I had a 2000 Tahoe with 172 miles and never had to replace any big things. This would be the last purchase for Mazda and I dont recommend it to anyone. I should have stayed with American made. Spending $20k for an auto that I have to fix two weeks later. What a piece of junk. I would like to let the owner of the Mazda to look at this two complaints. The car had only one owner and I just realized why he returned his car. Also, the motor moves when you press the gas. I dont know if that is normal, but I hope the motor doesnt drop while I am driving. Thank you, I will be waiting for a response.

2010 Mazda 3 - Another one bites the dust. I work from the house, do mainly highway driving and put about 100 miles a week if that on the car right now. I was driving on the highway and RPM started to rev up; I couldnt switch gears and clutch gave out from underneath me. Luckily, I was able to roll off the highway when I noticed the problem. This has got to be one of the most problematic cars I have seen. A clutch dying in less than 3 years and the worst part is my car was due off its lease next month. I assume this to be a manufacturer defect, and maybe one day they will admit to a faulty clutch. As for customer service, its some of the worst I have ever seen. They review your concerns with an eraser or write with one. Horrible company and car!

I took my Mazda SUV for repair. The problem was the wheel bearing and the price to repair was $750.00 plus $135.00 for diagnostic totaling $885.82. I told the sales person, if you forgo the $135.00, I will have you fix it. To my surprise, she said no so I paid the $135.00 and left with my car. She did not only lose a job but she also lost a customer as well. This is not good customer service...

Back in January, a pebble hit my windshield on my way to the airport. Needless to say, I had damage the size of a .50 cent piece. I called my insurance company and they use a TPA that replaces windshields for them. It took the company 6 weeks to install my new windshield, because every time the windshield was delivered it was cracked. Just Monday, April 25th, I am driving to work and another pebble hit my windshield. I did not think much of it, until then I saw a spider crack going up my windshield... Not again! Is there a defect with these windshields? Then, it takes 4-6 weeks for a replacement to be installed because Mazda is SO backed up from California and then they arrive broken. I would appreciate Mazda to respond and to fix this issue, as this is a serious defect! It is against the law to drive with a broken windshield. And then be told that there is a 6-8 week back order. One window replacement company told me 3 months... are you kidding me! Mazda - you need to look into a recall!!! If not, you will have class-action on your hands!

I just purchased a 2014 Mazda CX5 one month ago - pretty blue in color. I just had to HAVE it! Well, 4 days after getting it...yes, 4 days later, it went into what’s called Crawl mode. I was going 65 mph down the highway when all of a sudden it started slowing down...to 20 mph!! I had a semi-truck barreling down the road towards me...I had to yank my car off the road, slow completely down, then hit my start button 5 times for it to go into emergency shutdown mode. Tried to turn it back on, and nothing!! 5 minutes later, it finally started. Then not even one day later, my key light that says whether the key is in the car or not started coming on. It kept telling me I had no key in the car...yet the car was already on??? **?! So I figured it was just a car error for a onetime thing. OHHH NO! It happened every day, several times a day for the next week and a half. Well then one day, it just so happened to be my sons first day of first grade. I got all three of my children loaded up and went to start my car and NOTHING. Gauges started going haywire, lights were working, but the car was completely dead. Had to have it towed! Come to find out the dealership said it was just a dead battery, but yet it tested to be a good one. Really?!? So they choose not to replace it, and they just recharged it. Well then my key fob started acting up again so I had to take it back to the dealership. They then checked the voltage of the key fob and it was too low, so they replaced the battery and the key fob all together. Well five days later, my key fob started acting up again. At this point I was just pissed off and took it BACK to the dealership and showed them what it was doing and again they couldnt find any record of it. Well, come to find out my computer is not recording anything, not a permanent code, not a temp code, nothing! So I contact Mazda and they tell me to take my car back...for the 5th time, and their own tech personally took my car home to try and reduplicate the issue. While he had my car, he had his own personal animal in the back as there was dog hair everywhere, and someone tried to break into it...slits in the window seal, pried trimming by the window; it was all messed up, but at least he saw my car RPMs sticking...but again, my car was not keeping the codes...AGAIN!!! I told them that this should of been a red flag that something was wrong with the computer. They told me that they couldnt fix anything because they couldnt find a problem wrong with it. Well I got it back on Friday and the following day my BF and I were at a red light and it decided it did not want to shift. My BF had to put the car into the semi auto mode and then back into the auto mode before it would even go forward. Needless to say, I took it back today (Monday) and they refused to take the car back...They decided to sell me another one, an upgraded one, but told me to keep my phone away from the push to start ignition...Uhh...why!?!? Im not happy and I wanted to get away from Mazda altogether, but the only way they were going to take the messed up car back was for them to buy me out from that car, and sell me another one...so hopefully this one works. Not only did I get an upgraded car, but its the same model and then they JACKED my payments up! Never do business with Mazda.

I bought a new Mazda MX5... It is only a few thousand miles out of warranty. That is when my Air Conditioning clutch froze up (of course after the warranty ends) on the Air Conditioning Compressor and now it blows HOT air. Mazda wants $1,200 to replace it, so I spoke to Morgan at Mazda about this problem, thinking Mazda would stand behind it considering the small amount my AC unit was used. The thing is I live in the Mountains in NC and really did not use the Air Conditioning very much. I bet that AC unit has only been used 10% of the time... Plus, I have purchased 2 brand NEW Mazdas in the last 5 years. Mazda still refused to stand behind their product and cover this under warranty... I am done with Mazda. I will never buy another Mazda again and I am going to warn everyone I can about Mazda poor service after the sale. What a horrible way to treat your loyal Customers. Something similar happened to my Father and Dodge stood behind their AC unit even after the Warranty expired... Now my Father will only buy a Dodge. Mazda just does not get it. Mazda just lost an entire family and friends of future Customers. NEVER AGAIN...

I registered the vehicle with Mazda USA online since I live in Tennessee and the car was delivered to me by the dealership. I purchased my 2008 Mazda Tribute brand new. The first year (8 months after purchase), I noticed a sound in my car. I quickly took it to the dealer I purchased my car from. As soon as I pulled up to the dealership, the mechanic told me that it was a belt and was easy to fix at $150. He informed me that a lot of Tributes had been coming in with this issue, but not a big deal. I had it fixed. There were a few minor issues afterwards. Fast forward 2 years later, my car mysteriously would not start. I would have to catch a cab to work. When I called a mechanic to come out to take a look at my Mazda, it started (what!). This went on for about 6 months. I went on a trip to NY and once again it would not start. The dashboard cluster defaulted; cost to fix was $1000. I took it to a certified dealer and while fixing it, they informed me that I also had a transmission leak which would cost me $1500 to fix. At this time, a recall notice had been mailed and I was unaware of this issue. I needed my car being a single mother of 3; I had no choice. Fast forward to present day, 2013, about a week ago, my car started making loud noises. I took it back to the dealer I purchased my car from. Guess what! My transmission has to be replaced cost $3600 (really!) and I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that. Unfortunately, I was one of the millions hit with layoffs; no income. I called Mazda corporate and informed them that I was not aware of the recall notice sent out in 2011. The customer service rep informed me that there wasnt a recall and that I was misinformed. I informed her that I got the information off their website and from the dealership. She was not empathetic to my situation. I understand that my warranty expired. However, I feel that a recall should never expire. If you are aware that a defected part has been placed in your product, you have a responsibility to replace. I paid $17,000 for my car. With all the service issues, Im close to $7000 in repairs and towing fees - almost half the cost of the car. This is not fair to me and others, who work hard all our lives, especially when my car only has 75,000 miles and Im the only owner and now when money is nonexistent to me. Please do not purchase a Mazda. It’s a money pit.

As indicated in the service record when I got my first oil change, I had 3,000 miles on my 2012 Mazda 5 when I first complained to a Mazda dealer that my car would wobble when going forward into a right turn and in reverse when making a left turn. The service people said they could not recreate the problem as stated on the work order, but it would mysteriously go away for a while when I complained during multiple oil changes. Recently, at 25,000 miles, the service manager at this dealership finally told me my rotors were out of round so they were going to ground them down to make them straight. I requested they be replaced with new rotors but they said no. The dealer who sold me the car with the defective rotors said no and Mazda Headquarters said see the dealer who sold me the car.The dealer I bought the car from said its an issue of wear and he doesnt do warranty work unless hes paid by Mazda. His service mgr. said he didnt feel or see a problem during a test drive after the rotors were filed down so they refused to replace them. If it was an issue of wear, the problem would not have been occurring since I bought the car. Filing down the rotors mostly eliminated the problem, thus indicating the rotors were bad from the start. To make sure the dealer saw information about the wheels wobbling in formal complaints on paperwork from the 3,000- and 25,000-mile oil changes, I filed a complaint with the state. They sent me a notice that the dealer said it was a wear problem and they would check with Mazda Headquarters!!Now Im wondering if the State of Michigan Attorney General has the will to tackle big business. I sent them every piece of information related to the problem and I would like my rotors replaced. Anybody out there have any ideas, similar problems?

I bought a 2001 Mazda Millenia in 2012. It had been owned by an elderly man and stored in a garage after each use. I paid $5500.00 for the car and at 42,000 miles I COULD NOT pass up the new looking car deal. Only a few problems so far and minor at that. With over 100,000 miles on the still awesome looking, driving and handling perfect as well as runs like a new car, I am a very happy owner. Changing the oil every 2500 miles myself and using the best oil. Its a car, treat it right and it will last. Most car companies have their problems. Look at GM, Ford and others. With the amount of Mazda on the road today, I think the problems are minor. I wish Mazda would help more people with their Mazda problems. It would be a better car company for all.

Did that, no change. This car has me terrified Im going to be stranded somewhere with my children.

It is not too large and easy for me to handle. It was a really good deal compared to what you would pay for other cars in this price and category. However, the center console and screen is a little too small, and it is difficult to use while I am driving. You cant just glance at it and flip the channel. My 2017 Mazda CX-3 has rust problems on the roof and hatch panels within 4 years. The smallest stone chips will lead to migration of rust under the paint causing bubbling. Out of the blue the housing cracked blue oil all over the bottom of the car and seized the motor. Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing wee
Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing week over week. I purchased a new Mazda CX5 10 months ago. The vehicle drives fantastic. It just needs a lot of TLC. Paint is not evenly distributed leaving visible color distortions. Front bumper is not, absolutely not, suitable for winter driving in Canada. I went through a spray - car was to get the salt and grime off the car and the bumper just cracked. Dealer is telling me I hit something... No scuff marks, no other damage than a crack that starts exactly where there is a cut out in the bumper. This is a flaw in the plastic material that the bumper is made of. I will eventually replace the bumper but at $ 1,000.00 it simply is not feasible right now. The infotainment system is cause for long debates with the dealer and on the phone with Mazda Canada customer support. I have also put in a claim at the MTO (Ministry of Transportation in Ontario) to see if they are willing to see the point of a defective infotainment unit that requires constant attention during driving. USB drives simply crash, Bluetooth becomes grayed out. Needs a complete disconnect from the battery to resolve (plus reprogramming). Dealer states that they did a firmware upgrade but only tested for the GPS system and, since I keep that up to date (I had to purchase maps to be updated quarterly), it showed on the bill that the firmware already was up to date. That is not the firmware!! The infotainment also has a firmware that can be checked by pressing radio on/off and audio at the same time. Since the dealer made a statement that the firmware is up to date, Mazda Canada does not want to respond to any flaws or changes that need to be made. Music volume is just unacceptable. I had to crank the sound to 30 before I can even hear the speakers and there is a constant hiss at lower music levels. Dont even think of driving with the roof open. You will have to crank it all the way up to 45 or 50 (65 is the max). I purchased the GS model for this. The sunroof is a much welcome tool in keeping the temps in the car at bay in the summer. The OEM tires will not last for more than 40,000 KM by the way. Last but not least: the dealer will only work on any TSB (technical service bulletin) when the customer insist. It is not done voluntarily. Mazda Canada still claims there are no TSBs for the car - if asked why they are so secretive about this, they claim that all works as it was meant to be. The car, in their eyes, is perfect. In my opinion, the many test reports are flawed and I have also contacted these sites and producers of the shows with the facts. Also the Dealers insist you take the rust proofing and if you do the car will be ready in 4 days. I refused ant it took 2 weeks with the 3M protection film still missing. These tricks will be pressed upon the buyer when I thought I was done with the purchase. I have deep regrets I purchased the car. I will zoom-zoom for a little longer but this car will not last the full 10 years my (t)rusty Ford Taurus did. I do not recommend anyone to purchase a Mazda CX5 if peace of mind is important.

OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal. Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car. Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.

We bought a car from the Mazda dealership, a certified SUV CX-7 2008. A few months later, the car started acting up and the engine overheated. We took it in to the dealer and they told us the only problem was that of the thermostat. Thankfully, we had bought the extended warranty that covered this. They told us everything else was fine and that was the only problem they had come across. About six months later, the car still kept overheating and we noticed there was another leak. We took the car in and now they are saying it was a lack of maintenance from our part. The engine was blown and there was oil all over everything. They told us that if we proved we took care of the engine adequately, that our extended warranty would cover it. We did everything that we could and got all the receipts of the Synthetic Oil we had bought, got all our ducks in a row and handed them the evidence they needed. Now, they are saying that due to the sludge, the warranty can be void. At this point, I started doing research based on the fact that we did take care of our car and its oil was changed even before it had to. (A car is a major investment. Why would we not take care of it when were spending $700-$900 a month to keep this car?) Something wasnt right. I had to put two and two together. According to other Mazda CX7 owners, their engines started giving out at 40k-80k miles. I also talked to a mechanic who told me they believe the engine is overheating due to the turbo in the engine, causing everything to melt. I talked to the main Mazda mechanic about this and they said that they cant do anything but wait and see if the insurance will cover this and replace the engine. He said he knows about the problems people have reported but there is nothing he can do. Mazda is definitely a major rip off and scam. They scam people out of their money by giving them faulty cars that give out way before 100k miles and then tell them its because they didnt take proper care of their engines. Buyers, beware of Mazda and even their Platinum warranty. They will use every excuse to void this! Read all the reviews of unhappy customers! Mazda is definitely not owning up to this like they should. The Mazda CX 7 engine is no good!

The fuel rail leaked fuel last March on my CX9, three months after I made my last payment. It was 8000 miles out of warranty. The cost was over $1000. Town North Mazda in Richardson and Mazda USA refused to help me with repair costs, even though this is not a wear and tear part. They did offer to sell me a new car though. I believe it was defective. I wrote several appeals for help, but to no avail. 6 months later, the front-wheel bearing went bad, fusing to the hub despite having the car checked at a dealership when I first heard the noise. $500! Now the AC switch is not working. Hopefully only a relay, but it may turn out to be a blower-motor. Probably another $1000 in repairs. This car has seen the shop more in the last 8 months than my previous Ford 156,000 miles in 10 years. No more Mazdas in my garage. Reading this site is disturbing. It is not necessarily the list of complaints about reliability, but Mazdas apparent lack of concern for its customers. Or should I say suckers. Now I know why Mazda has such a great track record with recalls. There arent any. I am dumping this CX9. Any readers should follow my advice and do the same. Expensive lesson learned.

Recently, I had an issue with my vehicle when it wouldnt start. I had my car towed to my mechanic in Indialantic. He ran the diagnostic test on my car and found out that the ECM computer system had failed, and also fried 6 of my coils. My mechanic had given me a quote of $1,400 for repairs. In the meantime, I was calling around to see if I could find an ECM for a cheaper price. I came across an EPA federal warranty that stated: Any vehicle with less than 80,000 miles and less than 8 yrs. old is entitled to this EPA warranty on any specified major emission control components. The warranty states that all components are covered and the manufacturer will have to repair the components free of charge. I brought the warranty over to my mechanic to look it over. He stated that he would call Mazda and find out if they will honor this federal warranty. My mechanic spoke with a gentleman named Robert **. He approved the use of the warranty and told the mechanic to have us bring the vehicle over to Mazda. The next day, I paid to have the car towed to Mazda. Robert ** stated that he would call me before he started to give me a price on the repairs. When he called later that afternoon, he gave me a quote of $1,700. This was $300 more than my mechanic. He then called back again and stated that he would drop the cost to $1,345. It is costing me the same price with the warranty as it would have at my mechanics garage, without the warranty. I also had to pay to have the car towed to Mazda. I only brought it over to Mazda because the gentlemen stated he would honor the warranty, and he is charging me more. I feel belittled and taken advantage of.

So for almost a year I’ve been receiving these pamphlets in the mail about a recall for my airbag. And it always said it would take an hour to complete. I take the day off work and drive half an hour to my nearest Mazda dealer for my appointment. Apparently there’s 3 recalls that need to be done and it’s a 3-4 hour wait!!!! They should give me a new car for all of this bs. There’s less than a zero percent chance of me ever buying another Mazda. I get to spend my whole entire morning sitting in a Mazda dealership. I’m fuming right now!!

My wife and I were in the market for a vehicle the summer of 2011. We had a check from our institution in the back pocket so we went searching. Our search starts with the Toyota Venza (new), and the Infiniti Q35 (pre-owned). We visited approximately 5 dealerships the weekend previous to July 4th, 2011 - a lot of test drives, a lot of negotiations which were close, but not as satisfactory. After not moving the needle as much as we had desired, my wife has an idea to check out the dealership of Mazda in Huntington Beach. We look at the Cx7 & Cx9 (new) and after test driving a few, she decides to look into the Cx7 as she was previously unfamiliar with the vehicle. After mulling options over (blank check was good for up to 40k in financing, 4.1 APR) she decides to purchase the Mazda (24,900). We select a model, which has 13 miles on it - and though others (Venza, Infinity) were her chief desire, she believes that the decision was a good, more economical one. We (she) purchases the vehicle July 4th, 2011.One month in, the front driver tire blows out on the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa. The car is driven to the dealer the next day - to have a tire placed on. The price was surely surprise surprise - $250.00. We push to know why the tire was so expensive, its because the size is new for this size vehicle and theres one maker of the tire. Bridgestone. We pay for it begrudgingly, and go about our way.Fast forward to February 6th, 2015, a shade over 3 years, 6 months of owning the vehicle. The vehicle history is good, maintenance is excellent (my wife is a therapist for children with autism so thats why vehicle choice was extremely important - traveling client to client in administering therapy sessions) and without warning, she cannot reverse. She can drive forward, yet is losing power when the automatic attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, so it jumps from first to 3rd.We take the vehicle to Browning Mazda in Cerritos and we are advised that the transmission needs to be replaced (3,200). 3 years 6 months 64,262 miles, excellent maintenance history, & this vehicle needs a NEW transmission? This felt like a terrible joke. The power train warranty? 3y/60k. Expired just over 4,000 miles ago. If theres an engine issue, we usually receive a warning (ie - check engine light flashes on when the oil hits around 3,500) - yet for a failed transmission the vehicle took a dump without warning. We contact Mazda (corporate) & are advised later in the day that they would pay half of the ticketed amount. Thats still egregious as there wouldnt be a vehicle sold if most buyers knew that at such ridiculous low mileage, the transmission would fail them. We retrieve the vehicle and have it looked at for two more opinions and apparently there are no codes indicating the transmission is bad, not to mention the fact the transmission itself is indicating itself being bad simply by the test drive. One transmission mechanic wanted to advise us that Mazda contains many Ford parts, including the transmission and the parts itself. He opens a book, shows a Ford Escape transmission cover (as an example to start) & shows the transmission cover for a Mazda Cx7. Same shape. Same size. Same diameter. The only difference was the material each was made out of. He also advised us that Ford held a controlling stake in Mazda for a very long time and that Mazda in engine make up is similar to many Ford vehicles.Im thankful for such insight as now, my wife, shes back to square one. We will just take it on the chin, pay the dealer, trade it in and get into the vehicle she wanted to originally (Toyota Venza) as it has a powertrain of 7y/100k, and we have another blank check and a few we are willing to pay more of a premium for now as opposed to settling (which appears now, that we did).My advice, if you could help it remain in a Toyota (I drive a Lexus and plan to remain with Toyota) or Honda (my wife bought a Civic new in 2001, drove it to 2011 without issue, netting 170k miles before selling to a UCI college student, then purchasing this Mazda vehicle). If my story helps you even a little bit, I am definitely thankful. This experience feels completely underhanded and we feel hoodwinked.

My 2007 Mazda 6 4 cylinder engine failed with only 107,000 KM. This was 7000 KM after my warranty expired. The whole engine needs to be replaced as it was a catastrophic failure. I had fully maintained my car at the Mazda dealer, changed the oil on schedule every time and had only Mazda technicians working on my car. Mazda Canada would only cover 33% of the replacement engine. This will be the last Mazda I ever buy, very displeased with Mazda Canadas lack of concern for their own reputation and customers.

Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car. First problem was tire life. The original Bridgestone Duelers lasted 29k, and yes, proper inflation and rotation, and alignment. Subsequent sets met with only marginal improvement. Went with Perreli Scorpions, and Yokohamas. At 99k, last week, I foolishly purchased a new set of Michelins (60k warranty). My plan was to drive this thing until those tires were shot, and call it a day. Mind you, Ive met or exceeded all service schedules, to include flushing the tranny last spring. Heres a short list of the problems with the cx-9: Drivers door seal leaks creating excessive noise in cabin. AC controls are intermittent between front and rear compartment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Power doors refuse to lock as the indicator light states I have a door open. Both keyfobs failed, and dealer wanted in excess of 300 to replace and reprogram. I opted with using the hard key, but had to have that programmed. Passenger door window wont go all the way down. Dealer had two attempts to fix that, and its doing it again. Now for the biggies: 60K Pass side rear wheel bearing went, $500.00. Then, Huge clunking noises coming from somewhere in front end suspension. I replaced tie rod ends, and stabilizers with greasable Moog fittings. Still have the clunk noise. Learned this was due to failed lower ball joints on the control arm. I was heartened to hear that a recall was pending and made the appointment with the dealer after my tire installer confirmed my suspicion. Within one week of putting the tires on and Within days of scheduling my ball joint/control arm repair, my wife pulls up the driveway and the sound coming from the drive-train was like she was dragging a washing machine behind the car. I will limp it into the dealer tomorrow a.m. to find that at minimum, I will need a new transfer case. This is completely unacceptable! If you take care of your vehicle, as I have, this stuff should not happen! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAZDA.... and shame on you Ford Motor Co for supplying the POS parts on this vehicle without proper vetting.

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6, loaded with their technology package. The GPS was the worst ever experienced. The speaker in the front passenger door vibrated so badly it was hard to use the system, even with the bass turned off. The GPS would indicate a turn 400 yards away when basically at the turn point. It would then suddenly advise to turn, when almost through the intersection. The front drivers seat had limited settings. I went to Mazda for service and all I got was a shoulder shrug. I sent a note to Mazda and didnt even get a response. After 8 months of problems I dumped this car and took a loss of approximately $8,000. I have now owned about 12 cars and the Mazda 6 was the worst experience ever.

Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda dealership in Peterborough Ont. I replaced a part on my car last winter after it fell off due to hitting a snow bank. A month or so later, the same part fell off my car for no reason. I did not hit anything. I took my car back to Mazda to have it replaced. After they looked at my car they then proceeded to tell that I owed them $30 or more because they looked at it and cut the piece off that had fallen off. They then gave me a quote for a new bumper and the piece that I had already replaced once. Which was over $1000. I refused to pay for a piece which I just replaced and told them I could not afford a new bumper. The lady at the service desk then told me that it looked like I had hit something with my bumper and thats why the piece had fallen off. I was insulted at the fact that she was trying to put blame on me when I had done nothing. The next day my father called and explained the situation to the manager and they then said that they would replace the part free of charge and for me to contact them to arrange an appointment. I gladly called them back and told them to order the part and that I needed to speak about finances with my dad about getting a new bumper, and that I would call them back. I called them back and set up an appointment to get the piece put on, but a few things came up and I wasnt able to go to the dealership. I cancelled the appointment, and the next thing I know Im receiving phone calls from blocked phone numbers that I have a new bumper waiting for me at the dealership and I need to come in and get it put on since I ordered it. They have called me numerous times and left what I would call rude messages on my cell phone an my home number. I called them three times on did not get an answer at the service desk. They have now informed me that they will be sending my bill to collections if I do not get the bumper put on. I refuse to pay for something that I did not order, and especially how Ive been treated. This is my first experience with buying a Mazda and dealing with them and I will never buy a Mazda again due to the experience. Im a good customer, I pay my bills, and never wanted this to go to this extent. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Dealership sucks, vehicle is good! No doubt that I had done my homework. Family I come from ** is Honda lovers and this was first time, I went out and opted for #mazdacanada. Mazda has some great features which Honda was missing and I was forced to cut down ROGUE because 4 cameras were headache and risky than technology developed by #mazda. Honda CRV, I realized is under power engine and whenever you need force/power, you can sense a howling and growling engine. It has overpriced itself and these two were major reason to opt for Mazda CX-5. There is one camera but sensors are used so intelligently that I have to say they made a niche for themselves. As soon as a car is in your blind spot - you dont/should not be looking into camera feeds - in Mazda CX-5, sensors make a yellow light glow in your mirror with a beep indicating that there is vehicle or person in your blind spot. I am over six feet - so entering and exiting is slight... a little bit tight... I have to adjust my posture of entering and exiting from this vehicle. My dealer experience was not as good as I wanted to be - #abbotsfordautomall #automall where #vipmazda is situated, didnt clarify before I reach to finance department that #bumper to bumper warranty is for 3 years only. They try to sell you insurance cover for those extra 2 years. Second bad taste happened, again when I was facing finance department that INSURANCE have to be from the dealer. They informed me that INSURANCE cannot be done from outside brokers or agents! Coming back to vehicle, its comfortable and nice... Ride is good but still cabin is not silent as I was expecting... In total, this is great vehicle which shows innovations and intelligent designing done by Mazda. This is made in Japan and quality of interior is not as bad as we see in Honda CRV. I like the way sensors handles vehicle and its power... when FWD will be changed in AWD is done auto. Thus it saves lot of fuel. I have driven it in fresh snow, black ice and the way vehicle managed traction and control is awesome. Seating is good and boot is comfortable too. I would definitely suggest this vehicle for small family usage - its navigation and sunroof is added features which helps in movement.

I purchased my vehicle 2 years ago and just recently got to 20,00 miles and had to have the rear disc brake pads replaced because they barely passed inspection. I called the customer service number and they said they would gladly replace them free of charge if I went back to the dealer immediately that day to get it done. I then learned that this is a flaw that some of the CX-5s have including the current models. I leased my vehicle so I will be returning it before the 40,000 miles when it will probably need them again. It is expensive to replace them every 20,000 miles when they should last at LEAST 40,000 miles. If I owned this vehicle who would have to keep replacing them when they wear sooner than they should, ME!!! That is an expense I can not afford.I also have an issue that when you open the back hatch there is not enough light to see what you are doing. I like the way the car handles in the snow, which is why I leased it to begin with, to see how well it did. I like the car and would love to buy another when my lease is up but I dont know if I will because of the expense of replacing the discs every 20,000 miles.

Do they know that google react to keystrokes as we type them?? 2. They could also show the current version and expected date of the new version to save the pain of using this application in the first place.3. They could send emails informing of a new release (they maintain accounts on the cloud with our emails). MAZDA 3 SkyActive - I have only 2200 miles on this auto and it has a peculiar issue. When driving at various speeds, when you press the brake to slow down and stop, this car revs from roughly 1000 RPM to almost 3,000 RPM. This causes the car not to want to stop even when pressing down on the brake. This car is dangerous to drive for wife and myself due to this various serious issue. This has happened about 6 times this year and I bought the car new. I keep it parked most of the time of having the fear of creating an accident if I cant stop and hit the car in front of me.I even took out the floor mat in front, checked the front floor for object, and clearances and everything looks good. I even am careful to the footwear that I drive in so that wont cause any problems. My wife refuses to drive the car at all. I have taken this car into service 2 times and the dealer told me that there was no apparent problem and had no issues. They did say that they had to adjust the engine a bit to keep it running smoother, case closed. Not so! This keeps occurring and I want to know if this has been an ongoing issue with this tin can or is the car I own a lemon? This is a very, very dangerous situation and if no one gets killed or hurt it could become a case for a class action lawsuit like Toyota a few years ago. I have never had this type of problem happen with any car that I have previously owned. The problem about should be brought to someones attention for everyone out there.

I have spoken to Mazda Canada customer relations and set up an appointment (which took three months) with the district manager. He pretty much said it was normal and couldnt see Mazda covering the damage. What a crock of **. If they were to cover it, it wouldnt be warranty but a goodwill gesture. I have a 2010 Mazda CX9 with approximately 23,000 miles on it. Last week, it was parked at the airport parking garage, and the power lift gate could not be closed, neither with the automatic button, nor manually, so I called the Mazda roadside assistance for help. Since the car was inside the parking garage, it was not possible to tow it. So, they connected me to some local dealership for some possible remote assistance, but the service center of the dealership was already closed. The only option I was left with, was to drive the car back home with the lift gate open (For sure, I didnt want to keep my car in the garage overnight with the lift gate open). Since the lift gate could not be closed due to malfunctioning, while coming out of the parking garage, it hit the concrete roof beam, and had severe damage.Mazda dealership found that the liftgate could not be closed due to malfunctioning of the motor. Since the car is within the warranty period, this will be fixed by them. But they denied to take the responsibility of the body damage, that was caused by this. Initially, they questioned why the roadside assistance was not called. When we gave them the details of my call to the roadside assistance, then they changed the statement to body damage is not covered under warranty. I understand that the body damage is normally not covered in warranty, but in this case, the damage occured because of the malfunctioning of the motor, which was under warranty. If the motor worked fine, then the body damage would not have occurred. So Mazda should take the responsibility of the damage that was caused by them. When asked what is the Mazda-recommended way to handle this situation, the zonal manager of Mazda told you could have left the car in the parking garage (with the liftgate completely open) and taken a rental car back home.

I purchased this new car in 2015 and I have had problems with the transmission. When going from reverse to drive, the car lurches forward without even putting your foot on the gas. Because of it I hit a cement wall and did $6000 damage to the front end. After several trips to the dealer they finally told me that they were aware of the problem and ordered a new part. Well it is doing it again. I park in a parking ramp and I have to maneuver to get parked. Last week the car lurched forward again and did damage to the car again. Now back to the dealer and I am sure they will once again tell me I dont know how to drive. Parking attendants have had the same issue and hit a planter when the car lurched forward. I regret the day I ever purchased this vehicle. I just do NOT want to own it anymore because it is not safe.

We have had a 2015 Mazda CX-5 for about 6 months. Its a comfortable car and is pretty fun to drive (no comparison to my BMW X5 35d but then it was half the price!) My wife drives this car 98% of time. Most of the miles are on the Interstate. We are very unimpressed with the mpg. Claimed for the 2.5 AWD is 30 highway and 24 town with 26 avg. - we are nowhere near that. The current average is 21 mpg! Yes its been awfully cold but even my diesel Bimmer only loses -1.5 mpg average (which is still 25.5!). Ive also found the AWD to be mediocre at best. We have a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek that my oldest son drives and it is 10 times the vehicle in snow. My advice is dont believe all the magazine reviews! Apparently all the ads Mazda is running sells cars and gets good reviews. In hindsight, I would likely have been better off with the Subaru Outback or Honda CR-V. The fit finish and appeal of the CX-5 are great. But if you are most concerned about fuel economy and winter roads...keep shopping.

The car was driven by two mature people. Kindly explain the failure of the transmission. If, this is typical for this car at this day and age, we need to let the public know.

Tribute recall notice - I received the 1st letter from Mazda last month. I took my Tribute to Premier Mazda of Georgetown (where I purchased it in 2008); they disconnected cable and told me to expect another letter from Mazda advising me they now had the parts for the repairs. I received the letter today telling me to call and set up an appointment. I spoke with ** who said to wait for yet another letter because the repairs were not being effective. This sounded fishy, so I called Mazda Corporate and spoke with Jose. He called ** at Premier Mazda. He was told ** had given inaccurate info and told me to call ** who would set up an appointment. I have called Premier and left messages to get a call back. I feel I am being ignored!

I bought a Mazda RX-8 with an engine warranty and Mazda refuses to pay for a new engine. There is also a recall on a part in an airbag and they refuse to fix the damages caused by a faulty part. If you are looking for a car dont go to Mazda unless you are looking for nothing but disappointment.

Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is
Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is to deal with dealership, you know how great it is to be taken care by a great sales person. For the first time I walked in, Mr. Jason **, took care of me with no pressure, taking the time to answer all my questions, printing me clear and detailed sales offers for financing and leasing, and for the first time in my experience, was trustworthy! Went several times to meet him for questions, until the time we were going to sign for lease. Provided him with all requested necessary documents and information the evening before. On May 30th, 2018, after 3 hours spent with him with all paperwork’s, we had to wait for his Financial Manager Nick, who was supposedly too busy in assisting other clients, when his office was empty. Jason could not even have an appointment schedule from this busy person. He asked me to pay half of the deposit to hold the car for me, and charged my credit card. Therefore, he asked me to come the next day, May 31st, in confirming that Nick would call me to set up an appointment, and to confirm me the credit approval and monthly payments amount. Waited until 1:40PM to contact Jason because I have not received any feedback from anyone. Around 2:00PM, Jason texted me back in apologizing that he was assisting clients, but no information regarding appointment, credit approval or anything related to the lease offer. Only because the Financial Manager is again too busy and so well organized that he cannot delivered. Explained to Jason, that if they are not interested by my potential account, it will force me to seek for another dealer offer in order to not lose the benefit of 0% interest financing/lease special May sales. At 3:00PM, just a quick text to let me know I was approved for the amount, but no appointment still... After many back and forth with several Mazda dealerships, I accepted another offer to get my car ready that evening at the last minute! Texted back to Jason to express my disappointment about his Financial Manager and the General Manager of this dealership, who both let him down and made him lose the sale. Also requested to be refunded of my deposit charged on my credit card.As of June 4th, no news about either my refund, or a call from any Manager to apologize or anything else. So, I called to speak with Mr. Mark ** who is registered on BBB as General Manager, but no one as his phone or can transfer my call... Called 4 times to be transferred on voicemail, so asked to General Manager to call me back, and left them all information needed to understand the situation. Mr. Chris **, General Manager called me back, but had no information about the situation. Expressed my disappointment about the way his dealership is operated, his Financial Manager who did not delivered, how it is a shame to not support and provide resources to his great sales persons to close sales, and claimed for my refund. He asked my credit card number again, because he claimed no one will have it and it is the only way I could receive my refund... wonder what they do with card receipts after you pay, and may be they do have a shoe box accounting records systems! He also told me not to be worry about his management style… Provided him with my card information, and he claimed I will be refunded same day. He told me that he would talk with his Financial Manager to understand the situation, but I advised him to talk with Mr. Jason ** who lost the sale because of Financial Manager.I feel very sorry for Jason because, from the beginning to the end of the process during my 4 visits, he offered me a great service and beyond expectations compared to all dealerships from several brands I went to for months for car shopping. He was a trustworthy sales persons (which is very rare) with a consultant approach, very patient with me in explaining in details all my questions, and professional. Even this dealership is 1 hour drive from where I live, I really wanted to close the sales with him. In summary, I would not recommend this dealership if you don’t have the time to be lied around, and have to wait for the Financial Manager to deign to do his job professionally. If you are not in hurry, well then asked for Mr. Jason ** who is the person I would recommend.

To all owner of Mazda 2007-2013 Grand touring model. This car has around 62 K miles on it and solely serviced at Peterson Mazda dealer which I bought the car from, in Huntington Beach, California. About a month or so the car was serviced as scheduled and the inspection revealed nothing out of the ordinary. I was informed that eventually, I have to change the brake pads within 6 months or so. There was about 1/3 left on them. Without any warning of any kind, the brakes quit working and the car was not driveable. I thank God that my kids were not with me. The only way I came to a full stop was to downgrade to the 1st gear and apply the emergency brake. I recall I was on the freeway and the car had to be towed to my place. I replaced the disks, put new pads front and rear and the car still was not breaking. I took the car back to the dealer thinking that the master cylinder was defective and need replacing and I was ready to bit my tongue and pay for it since my warranty just expired at 60K. To my surprise I was told that there is a factory recall on the brake boosters and the replacement is free. I was outraged by the fact that we were not informed of this potentially dangerous issue, and I was told that it is on the need to know or repair basis and that the dealer is not liable since Mazda would not reimburse the cost of the repair, which averages $400 or so. Thanks a lot, Mazda. It is almost as bad as the exploding gas tank from the Ford Pinto back in the days. Do yourself a favor call your dealer and let them know about those boosters. Your life is at risk. For the record, I rarely write reviews but this time I felt obligated to inform the public about the shady dishonest behavior that Mazda is conducting and my life and kids life is worth more than your pathetic $400. Signed a teacher and very unhappy customer.

I bought my 2004 RX-8 car and it has about 98,000 miles on it. I got it in October 2011. I took very good care of the car. I let it warm up, worked the engine properly - all youre supposed to do to this special engine. Now, here it is on June, I am driving down the road, and the car, without a warning, just dies. I have a blown engine just like that. I am furious. If Mazda has known that this issue randomly happens with its cars, why isnt every single one that suffers from this defect gets replaced? I am now deep in debt, 104,000 miles and 9 months in a 5-year loan on a car thats virtually garbage. Please help someone.

This Mazda CX-5 had replaced one that I really enjoyed. But it does fulfill my needs but its not the type of car I would normally pick out. I like the fact that is all wheel drive. I like the pep in the engine and the gas mileage. I do like the fact that every Mazda has a GPS in it and I like the heated seats. However, the CX-5 is just a lower class model than I was used to previously. The CX-5 is a fine car but I wish that the radio system had XM or Sirius radio.

CX5 with 105,000 miles. Started car, backed out of garage, proceeded to drive away and a loud noise just before the car died. Ended up pushing the car back to the house and into the garage. Spent a few hours looking over everything and could not find the source of the problem. Checked the oil and it was fine. Checked fuses, all were good. Checked starter and alternator, all good. The next day I looked under the passenger side of the vehicle and notice two drops of oil on the garage floor. Checked oil again and it was up to level. Followed a small trail of oil pooling on the dust cover (under the engine) and saw two jagged holes in the engine block just above the oil filter. I wish I could post pictures of the holes and block pieces. The engine block wall is VERY thin and not what you would expect. Mazda really went cheap on manufacturing these SkyActiv blocks! The car belongs to my wife and is out of warranty range so with $13k left owed on it, were screwed. One more thing to add is Mazda had already replaced the defective automatic transmission at 80,000 miles.

I bought a brand new 2005 Mazda RX-8. I loved the car, until about 60,000 miles later when the car started stalling, even after I brought it up to operating temperature. It took about 6 trips to two different dealerships to discover that the problem was a bad engine that would need to be replaced. I was still under warranty. However, Mazda did not want to replace the engine. They said I did not properly maintain the car. After proving that I followed maint. schedules and all oil changes at Mazda dealerships, did they replace the engine. Now my new engine is at about 80,000 miles and the same problem! I need another new engine! But because my car is over 100,000 miles, Mazda will do nothing for me. They offered me loyalty offers for owning a Mazda. They refuse to acknowledge they have a poor product and to stand behind it. Because of this I will never buy another Mazda, and I suggest the same for you.

My wife has a 2007 Mazda CX-7 (rated in Consumer Reports as a Used Car to Avoid) that she purchased new in 2007. Over the past year, she has had instances where it begins to make a terrible noise around the front end and when she checks the tires, the lug nuts for the front drivers side tire are loose to almost falling off. She has had this looked at by multiple car repair and tire specialty shops and all have told her nothing is wrong with the studs or the nuts and they just werent tightened properly. The last time it was looked at (just a week ago!) the mechanic was planning to replace the studs and then notified her that there was just a build-up of rust/corrosion at the base of the studs that wasnt allowing the nuts to tighten all the way. She just called me a few minutes ago in tears because she once again heard the terrible noise, got out and checked the tire and four nuts were almost off! Would love to know if this is a problem other CX-7 or other Mazda model-owners have experienced. Very frustrating!

Today is Feb. 8, 2013 and I bought this car (Mazda 6i Touring 2010) in Oct. 2010. When I purchased this car, Mazda sent me an email with a survey as to how my experience was with the service at the dealership and with the salesman. In the survey, they asked a very clear question if they filled up the tank with fuel. However, after I answered the question as honest as I knew of the thing they were supposed to do which was some negative and some positive, I got Schaumburg Mazda dealer doing things to the car every time I took the car for oil change. The first time, they lost the the bottom bolts of the front suspension lower control arm; then they made the tire lose air so the light for the tires in the cluster will light and the next time they had it for three days. Now, the car does not have traction and every time it spins the wheel because of slippery road. The engine lost power. The suspension does not have a grip to the floor so maybe they even took some suspension parts out. They did more to the car. I had just been honest to their survey and I believed the survey is a snare to the customers so they know who they will target to damage their car. Now, how can I prove the dealer has done things to the car with the performance of the car being diminished? I know if I take the car back to the dealer, they will finally make the car to break down beyond repair and, after the warranty is going to expire, where I can go to have them repair the car and have the absolute confidence the car will last with the care I give the years that it should. Never again will I buy a Mazda car not because they are not good but because the dealer is not honest to their customers. After they get their money, they do not care one bit about you, your car or their business. As a side note, I did talk to Mazda headquarters but it was worse than just to let it alone. Apparently, they are just so arrogant that they have the control of the dealer and they allow those things to happen.

Public Service Announcement: Dont buy a Mazda AND do not use Passport Mazda
Public Service Announcement: Dont buy a Mazda AND do not use Passport Mazda in Suitland, MD. My daughters Mazda 6 had a sunroof that literally exploded on Jan 11, 2017 while she was driving. She said it sounded like a gunshot and she almost wrecked. It exploded upward and out of the vehicle although she had A LOT of glass that rained back in on her and the inside of her car. The vehicle was only 8 months old. Mazda replaced the sunroof out of goodwill (as they put it) and informed us that it was probably due to a shard of metal in the track left over from manufacturing... pressure built up on the glass and it exploded. Her vehicle is not the first vehicle to do this - Google it! They are refusing to repair the leather seats that the glass got embedded in and ripped and are refusing to fix the paint where the glass flew out and took a chunk of paint off the roof and the trunk of the vehicle. We have been trying to work through this with them since January. I have been on the phone with Corporate Mazda who in turn have been trying to get Passport Mazda on the phone for 2 weeks to get their side of the story. They have not made a connection with Corporate in over two weeks. Isnt that like ignoring your boss? Besides the fact that Mazda will not stand behind their product and quality. One of my daughters first adult purchases has not turned out to be a disheartening experience. They have not heard the last from us as we stand up for what is right! Do not purchase a Mazda as their customer service is LESS THAN SATISFACTORY and we purchased not ONE but TWO MAZDAS ON THE SAME DAY! Its all about how you respond to what goes wrong, Mazda!

Purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5. It has issue with the shifter, which affects the vehicle sensors. This results, in the vehicle sometimes not moving forward whenever it is put into drive. The vehicle instead rolls backwards and it is a safety issue. It also continuously has issue turning off when the vehicle is put into park. They performed service on my vehicle and charged me to change the shifter, which was a faulty shifter that came with the vehicle. I am still having issues to turn the vehicle off and it also continuously drains the battery. The vehicle has safety issues and there are multiple complaints of the issue. Mazda refuses to do a recall. Mazda also refuses to provide its customers with detail report of the safety issues. They conceal information to save themselves from lawsuits, but I have reporting them to NHTSA. And I will be filing another complaint because they refuse to provide detail paperwork for the supposedly repair they did. It will be my first and last Mazda!!

We are going to have to replace our fourth Catalytic Converter. Each time we are just outside of warranty. We have asked our dealership and Mazda customer assistance for assistance. Mazda would not be able to assist with the replacement of the catalytic converter due to the fact the vehicle is outside of warranty. My daughter was on I85 in heavy rain 2/18/2012 when her car bogged down and it was all that she could do to get safely off of the highway and out of heavy traffic. Her check engine light was flashing and we knew exactly what was wrong. Here we go again. Is there anyone that can help us with the EPA required catalytic converter warranty? Is there any extended warranty law which applies when a part needs to be replaced four times? Recalls that we can not find or our dealership is not telling us about? Can you please help? Thank you very much.

I bought a Mazda CX-5 cross over SUV in March. Overall - I like the car. I paired my Blackberry phone on AT&T to the Mazda system and I can make and receive wireless hands free calls - works well. When I receive emails I get a message that asks me if I want to download them for display on the LCD screen. When I click OK I get a message saying they can’t download the message and to try later. But of course there is never a later success. Has anyone seen a correction for this problem from Mazda?

I have a 2008 CX7 with 28,647 miles. On 7/7/13 the air conditioning began blowing hot air. I contacted the dealership on 7/8 and was informed my warranty expired on 6/14 and I should contact the Mazda Customer Satisfaction number for filing a complaint to see if they would replace my compressor. I contacted 1-800-222-5500 and spoke with Stephanie ** who provided me a file number and informed I needed to have the dealership confirm the issue was the compressor. The dealership confirmed the compressor and belt need replaced. I contacted the Customer Satisfaction number back and the complaint process began. I was notified on 7/15 that Mazda will not provide any financial assistance as it is outside of my warranty period. Considering the low miles on my vehicle, the warranty JUST ran out and there are apparently issues with the air conditioning on my vehicle as there are SEVERAL complaints online, I was very disturbed that a corporation who is supposed to be reputable will not stand behind their vehicle.
