They do not treat customers very well. Their cars are substandard and when I try to get my car fixed, even more mechanical problems arise. Coincidence? I had to bring in my car twice for the same issue only to go to a third-party to have it fixed properly. Having said that even more mechanical issues have arisen. When I talk to them they are very condescending and rude. It was shocking at first but after a few times of trying to reason of them I discovered that they do not care about the customer. I recommend not buying a Mazda or dealing with any of them or their associates.

My oil cooler started to leak. The dealer told me that the problem is a gasket, but I need to buy the whole part (oil cooler). After doing some investigation on the internet, Mazda knows that this is a problem and is not doing anything about it. If I dont get this part changed by Mazda (at the very least get a discount), I will never buy a Mazda again. I really love my CX-7 but this is not the only problem I had with it. This is the one that really filled my jar.

I bought a 1998 626 LX 4 Cylinder with 76,000, and as I was driving off the lot, the fuel pump went out. Luckily, the dealer replaced it at no cost even though I bought as is, but then 3 days later it went bad again. Two months later, the alternator belt snapped and to replace, you have to remove the wheel well and loosen the alternator to get on. It took about 6 hours only to have it snap again after 50 miles. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the belt again, but over torque the tension rod so now every about 1500 miles, I have to tighten it up or it loosens, squeals and smokes, and chunks of the belt come out. The transmission slips and shifts hard frequently. And now the coolant system is leaking and while I was attempting to isolate the leak, the window popped out of its roller. I understand every car has its problems, but I’ve only had this junk heap for a few years and am blown away by the frequency of problems. It would seem that all post Ford buyout Mazdas are lemons and I recommend avoiding them.

We bought a fully loaded CX5 in 8/14. It was the best decision weve made. Because of my back problems, I need to have a seat thats adjustable as well as an upright position. The CX5 provides that for me. Last summer we drove across the country and depending on my back, I was able to make adjustments to make it very comfortable for when I drove as well as being a passenger. The safety features such as the blind spot monitoring, the rear camera, and the automatic lights and windshield wipers were so helpful when driving. I felt so safe in this car. Mileage was good too, the car still has under 12K and were doing 26.7 mpg total. My only negative is that the rear hatch/door is not power controlled. In a fully loaded car I wouldve expected that, but it was not an option. I do want to note about some of the other reviews here - people need to explain their problems better. Owners also have to be realistic. How one drives a car does affect brakes. Front end Collisions only trigger front air bags (not side ones). Injuries can be caused by not wearing seat belts. And yes, sometimes cars have defects, but tens of thousands of cars are made of a particular model each year. A few will have problems from the get go. This is why many states have lemon laws. But if 5 people report the same problem, this is not a defect. Most likely your car got that 1 in 25,000 bad part. In that situation, if you can definitely prove it was Not your fault, you may get the maker to pay for the repair. But usually you cant, so hope the bill is low - that’s all.

Just passed 24000km on the odometer and the brand new 2016 CX3 I bought a year ago has a complete transmission failure. I had to bring it into the dealership (Stoney Trail Mazda) in Calgary AB Canada for a period of 4 weeks. They had to replace the complete transmission which took 2 weeks and after the replacement there was still noises coming from the vehicle, they took another two weeks to find out what was wrong and was complete clueless. They told me they did further work by replacing the flywheel and a number of other parts. The dealership is making an effort and did fix everything without further cost to me and did provide a rental vehicle which I appreciate greatly. However, I completely lost confidence in Mazda as a company. Ive been a long time Mazda owner and the fact that the dealership is not stepping up to replace a clearly lemon/defective vehicle is really upsetting. This will be the last Mazda I will ever own. Stay away from the Mazda CX3!!!

Well, if you want to be mislead, lied to and taken advantage of then I suggest you come here. I went into Mazda back in March 2019 to test the CX-5, after driving it around and listening all the great features I started to become more and more interested in the vehicle. Zakou, my sales rep tried to get me the best deal. I explained to him I still had 3 more months left on my previous lease but he assured me it wouldnt be an issue because Mazda would take care of the remaining balance (which by the way, was written in the contract and stated in all the paperwork signed by them and myself).Well, to cut the story short, its been almost three months since I switched to Mazda, my previous lease hasnt been paid off yet although they took the vehicle from me, I have been CONSTANTLY reaching out to my sales rep, calling the store, asking for a manager, financial manager, ANYONE that could help me out and all I get is: I will find out what is going on and I will reach out to you but I never hear back from anyone, and the manager seems to never be available. The only person I was able to talk to was the manager for used cars who obviously had no idea what I was talking about and also promised to call back, but I am still waiting for that call - one week later-.I have sent copies of the letters from my previous car dealership regarding the missed payments and how this was reported to the credit bureaus damaging my credit and all Zakou (the sales rep) would say is that he passed it on to his managers. When I asked which manager so I could follow up he would say I could just call and ask for one and they would all know what I was talking about, which again, LIES, because not once was I able to get a hold of a manager, they seemed to NEVER be there, and when I would reach out to Zakou again, hed tell me the same thing making me even more upset at the fact that I was not getting any concrete answers. The last thing I was told by my sales rep was for me to pay the balance and bring them a cancelled check for a refund which at this point I refuse because that is not what I agreed on, and if I wouldve known that from the beginning I would have just waited out the three months so I wouldnt be stuck with two lease payments!! It is safe to say, this has been by FAR the worse experience with a dealership that has failed tremendously with their customer service. Their lack of attention or interest in my situation has made my experience so sour, if it wasnt for my contract I would have returned the vehicle already so I wouldnt have to deal with them.

I truly love my Mazda. Had leased a Mazda 6 for 3 years. Liked it so much I leased a new one for three more years when my first lease was up. Has all of the best features you could want. Comfortable and classy. Plenty of storage room in the trunk and all of the controls are easy to use and understand. Only complaint is that the controls on the levers behind the steering wheel can’t be seen in the dark.

So for almost a year I’ve been receiving these pamphlets in the mail about a recall for my airbag. And it always said it would take an hour to complete. I take the day off work and drive half an hour to my nearest Mazda dealer for my appointment. Apparently there’s 3 recalls that need to be done and it’s a 3-4 hour wait!!!! They should give me a new car for all of this bs. There’s less than a zero percent chance of me ever buying another Mazda. I get to spend my whole entire morning sitting in a Mazda dealership. I’m fuming right now!!

Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is
Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is to deal with dealership, you know how great it is to be taken care by a great sales person. For the first time I walked in, Mr. Jason **, took care of me with no pressure, taking the time to answer all my questions, printing me clear and detailed sales offers for financing and leasing, and for the first time in my experience, was trustworthy! Went several times to meet him for questions, until the time we were going to sign for lease. Provided him with all requested necessary documents and information the evening before. On May 30th, 2018, after 3 hours spent with him with all paperwork’s, we had to wait for his Financial Manager Nick, who was supposedly too busy in assisting other clients, when his office was empty. Jason could not even have an appointment schedule from this busy person. He asked me to pay half of the deposit to hold the car for me, and charged my credit card. Therefore, he asked me to come the next day, May 31st, in confirming that Nick would call me to set up an appointment, and to confirm me the credit approval and monthly payments amount. Waited until 1:40PM to contact Jason because I have not received any feedback from anyone. Around 2:00PM, Jason texted me back in apologizing that he was assisting clients, but no information regarding appointment, credit approval or anything related to the lease offer. Only because the Financial Manager is again too busy and so well organized that he cannot delivered. Explained to Jason, that if they are not interested by my potential account, it will force me to seek for another dealer offer in order to not lose the benefit of 0% interest financing/lease special May sales. At 3:00PM, just a quick text to let me know I was approved for the amount, but no appointment still... After many back and forth with several Mazda dealerships, I accepted another offer to get my car ready that evening at the last minute! Texted back to Jason to express my disappointment about his Financial Manager and the General Manager of this dealership, who both let him down and made him lose the sale. Also requested to be refunded of my deposit charged on my credit card.As of June 4th, no news about either my refund, or a call from any Manager to apologize or anything else. So, I called to speak with Mr. Mark ** who is registered on BBB as General Manager, but no one as his phone or can transfer my call... Called 4 times to be transferred on voicemail, so asked to General Manager to call me back, and left them all information needed to understand the situation. Mr. Chris **, General Manager called me back, but had no information about the situation. Expressed my disappointment about the way his dealership is operated, his Financial Manager who did not delivered, how it is a shame to not support and provide resources to his great sales persons to close sales, and claimed for my refund. He asked my credit card number again, because he claimed no one will have it and it is the only way I could receive my refund... wonder what they do with card receipts after you pay, and may be they do have a shoe box accounting records systems! He also told me not to be worry about his management style… Provided him with my card information, and he claimed I will be refunded same day. He told me that he would talk with his Financial Manager to understand the situation, but I advised him to talk with Mr. Jason ** who lost the sale because of Financial Manager.I feel very sorry for Jason because, from the beginning to the end of the process during my 4 visits, he offered me a great service and beyond expectations compared to all dealerships from several brands I went to for months for car shopping. He was a trustworthy sales persons (which is very rare) with a consultant approach, very patient with me in explaining in details all my questions, and professional. Even this dealership is 1 hour drive from where I live, I really wanted to close the sales with him. In summary, I would not recommend this dealership if you don’t have the time to be lied around, and have to wait for the Financial Manager to deign to do his job professionally. If you are not in hurry, well then asked for Mr. Jason ** who is the person I would recommend.

I purchased a 2016 Mazda CX5 in late 2015. By the end of March 2016 (less than 4 months) I had transmission problems. I took my brand new Mazda in and they told me that they would check it out. They called back and said that it was the transmission and they would file a report with Mazda. They also said that the machine that manufactures the transmission was not working properly during the time my transmission was being made. It was also stated that Mazda doesnt know what cars doesnt have the missing piece. My question is why didnt Mazda put out a recall if they knew there might be an issue with the CX5 or any car with a transmission made at that plant? I bought this car brand new, why wont Mazda replace the car with another new car that has been checked for this issue? Fixing the transmission is not the same as purchasing a new car without defects. Up until now I have been a loyal Honda customer. I researched this car and heard a lot of good things about it. However after having owned a Mazda CX5 and seeing how Mazda has a total disregard for their customers, I will NEVER purchase a Mazda again.

2006 Mazda 3 - I had increasing problems with oil burning. I first noticed the problem when my car was still under warranty and mentioned it to the mechanic who said it was normal. My car slowly using more & more oil. I would check it weekly, at 8 years old and 138000 km putting in 1 liter of oil every 7-10 days. Last week had complete engine failure. Told I need a new engine. I think that is crazy for a car of this age, with this mileage that I have been very conscientious re: maintenance, oil changes, etc. Mazda no help at all. Since this has happened just through conversation in the past 5 days, I have learned of 2 other people with the same issue. This should be a recall issue. I had the same problem with my the locks (being kicked in to access car), Mazda was very little help. Finally paid for updated door locks but would not pay for damage done to my door.

I leased CX-3 for 3 years from Mazda. When I returned it, I thought my car looked pretty well maintained except the curb rash on the wheels. I was wrong. The wear and tear charges were more than $1000 dollars because they charge for every little thing you did not even notice when you had your car plus on damages that Mazda should be responsible for. For example, if you drive in rain or wash your car, there will be water damage in the headlight that is going to cost you $350 for EACH headlight. The receipt is the final list after I made them remove a few things. I am leasing a car from Mercedes too, and they are not charging me for every tiny scratch like Mazda did. So if you lease a car from Mazda, make sure you fix everything including tiny tiny scratches and damages caused by their poor assembly.

Got to love the great comment We have to verify if its on warranty 1st. In July 2010, I drove out of the Mazda dealer with my Mazda Tribute. In 2012, the back hatch lock was broken. They fixed it on warranty. Then again, this past May 2014, it broke again. They said it wasnt on warranty anymore, and it would cost $250.00, which I went ahead and got fixed. This did not seem to me like normal life of wear and tear. At the same time, my AC stopped working. They charged me another $100.00 to tell me that it could cost up to $700.00 to fix it. Again, this is not to me acceptable wear and tear. I live in Canada and use the AC 2 months out of 12. They said that the vehicle still runs the AC in winter to get the humidity out. Anyhow, I figure that if they had told me as a selling point, buy this vehicle and you will need to spend money to fix things that should be normally working given the age of the vehicle, but wont. Sign on the line please. In June 2013, I went in for some noise in the front undercarriage. They said that they had to check if the warranty was still on. Now, I drove the vehicle out for the 1st time on July 9th, 2010. They were arguing with me that it was in May, at 1st. Then, they gave me another date in mid-June. I said that I would go home and get my purchasing contract signed and dated. I came back with it, and there it was. July 9th, 2010. Still, they were not convinced. I said that any half bit lawyer would agree with me, since there it was on paper. A day later, I went back, and they said that the financial adviser had filed the wrong contracts. Imagine my surprise, they were finally willing to take my original contract as being the correct one. I am not at all satisfied with the service nor the quality of this vehicle I have at this time. I am still making payments on it, and on top of that, I need to fix things that should be almost outliving the vehicle.

Mazda 5 has good mileage and storage space in the back. We like the cruise control, volume/mute control on steering wheel and digital dashboard display. We wanted the benefits of a minivan that was easier to maneuver and at a lower price. However, it has poor overall leg room and we cannot use the third row seats for people of all ages and sizes. We want more overall leg room, but especially more room for the third row seats. This would help to carry people of all ages and sizes in all of the passenger seats.

2012 CX9 Transmission failure. I bought a new CX9 in 2013, primarily because we wanted a reliable car for my wife. It was a good car up until about the summer of 2019 when the transmission started to shudder in 5/6 gears. With only 118K miles, we took it to the dealer and they confirmed the torque converter was bad. So I was 18k miles past my extended warranty mileage and I was told it would cost me $3600 for a new transmission...and could be more if the front transaxle has issues. This was our first Mazda and we are so disappointed in the quality of these cars and with the response from mazda...which was no response. Ive owned many cars and never had any transmission issues of this magnitude. So going forward, I will only buy Honda or Toyota cars. Mazda should be ashamed of putting out this crap to consumers and sticking them (us) with a bill that we cant afford.

Had many problems from the start, dealer service was no help. Things kept getting worse. When I got it tire psi was at 49 psi, should be at 29. Adjustment cams on control arms off zero so toe in front back out of alignment, wears out tires fast. When I locked car the gas door pops open. Tables constantly reboots when it’s driven in the rain or when it’s washed, there’s a terrible film on the windshield and it’s pitted. One mechanic says it looks like a new muffler was put on, the body sags about an inch left rear wheel and clanked until a friend fixed, still sags a little at 22,000 miles. Lose inside panel. Overheats when idling. Dealer service is horrible, been to 5. Refused to refund extended maintenance. Dealer cashed my refund from Warrantech, kept money. Warrantech sent me a second check and then the dealer wants me to give them that money so they can take their cut and send back to me. Mazda North America is no help. There are other problems. This is my third new Mazda lemon.

2013 M3 6-speed manual purchased at 27,500 miles in April 2015 with transmission problems since purchase. I only have to put gas in it twice a month, but the savings over the years will soon be eaten up by a necessary total transmission replacement including master and slave cylinders, entire clutch assembly, and probably the gearbox as well. Not surprisingly, after 2 years of complaints, Mazda techs were finally able to duplicate the shifting problem (stemming from a known issue and current class action suit) on a service visit just outside of warranty, and they blamed it on user error and normal wear and tear. All the reviews youre reading are true... Mazda does not stand behind their products after purchase. Skyactiv-Gs are ridiculously frugal on gas, though! 34+ mpg in mixed driving over 72,000 miles! My issue has been overall shifting crunchiness worst in temps below 50F and failure to shift into first gear multiple times per day since day 1 no matter the weather. Just buy a Honda or Toyota...the Mazda zoom-zoom feeling wears off the moment you drive away from the dealer and the depreciation is ridiculous, so youll be stuck with it until its paid off because no one wants to work on Skyactiv-Gs except Mazda despite being nearly a decade old technology.

I have previously owned 2 Mazdas. The last Mazda 6 was totaled in accident. As I recovered, I began to decide on a replacement vehicle. I was drawn to Mazda. The new 6s do not have the same sporty look as my previous 6, so I considered other styles. As we were test driving several vehicles, including a 3, the salesman pointed us to a cx-7 under the dealership awning. He pointed out the incredible deal due to the enormous vinyl windshield cover at $21,999.00. We test drove the 7 and decided on this vehicle. The salesman had us consider owning this vehicle versus another 7 with lesser options for similar retail. Inside, another man entered the cubicle to inform us that the windshield cover had been put on the wrong vehicle. I am familiar with signing and obligation, so relevance here is the constant. The vehicle was not just on the lot, but in a hot spot under the awning and according to the conversation, had been signed wrong since at least the previous day.I did not purchase a vehicle from the dealership that day or since then and have been deliberating on the most respectful way to handle this situation. I look forward to action to rectify this unusual situation.Cordially,Lucy

My daughter bought a new crv from Mazda, the car doesnt even have 70,000 miles on it now. Well there is an engineering screw up that Mazda knew about it, and put the part on it anyway, knowing the part was a screw up, and refuses to repair it at their cost. The vvt solenoid should be replaced because they knew all about it. Its really a crying shame that they have screwed over so many people. There should be a recall on this, but I guess they are sweeping it under the rug. Its going to cost about $2,000 to repair this vehicle. My daughter has 3 children and cannot afford this. She brought her vehicle to a Mazda dealership in Baton Rouge, La. To be fixed, Mazda did agree to pay only $500.00 of the repairs. Her vehicle sat at Mazda for 5 damn weeks and they never worked on it. They said they would try and squeeze her vehicle in, and even though she was going to have to pay the remaining balance which is 1,500, they still never fixed a Damn thing! So she went and picked it up and all they did was hand her the keys and said nothing. I Would never purchase a MAZDA vehicle ever! Mazda should be brought Up on charges and held responsible for Their negligence.

Dealership sucks, vehicle is good! No doubt that I had done my homework. Family I come from ** is Honda lovers and this was first time, I went out and opted for #mazdacanada. Mazda has some great features which Honda was missing and I was forced to cut down ROGUE because 4 cameras were headache and risky than technology developed by #mazda. Honda CRV, I realized is under power engine and whenever you need force/power, you can sense a howling and growling engine. It has overpriced itself and these two were major reason to opt for Mazda CX-5. There is one camera but sensors are used so intelligently that I have to say they made a niche for themselves. As soon as a car is in your blind spot - you dont/should not be looking into camera feeds - in Mazda CX-5, sensors make a yellow light glow in your mirror with a beep indicating that there is vehicle or person in your blind spot. I am over six feet - so entering and exiting is slight... a little bit tight... I have to adjust my posture of entering and exiting from this vehicle. My dealer experience was not as good as I wanted to be - #abbotsfordautomall #automall where #vipmazda is situated, didnt clarify before I reach to finance department that #bumper to bumper warranty is for 3 years only. They try to sell you insurance cover for those extra 2 years. Second bad taste happened, again when I was facing finance department that INSURANCE have to be from the dealer. They informed me that INSURANCE cannot be done from outside brokers or agents! Coming back to vehicle, its comfortable and nice... Ride is good but still cabin is not silent as I was expecting... In total, this is great vehicle which shows innovations and intelligent designing done by Mazda. This is made in Japan and quality of interior is not as bad as we see in Honda CRV. I like the way sensors handles vehicle and its power... when FWD will be changed in AWD is done auto. Thus it saves lot of fuel. I have driven it in fresh snow, black ice and the way vehicle managed traction and control is awesome. Seating is good and boot is comfortable too. I would definitely suggest this vehicle for small family usage - its navigation and sunroof is added features which helps in movement.

First off, the Mazda Tribute is not a Mazda, its a Ford!!! Second, nobody will warranty a clutch because well most of you dont know how to drive a standard properly and will just ride them. Ive put 2 clutches in a person’s car because they ride it and dont know how to shift. Third, any turbo engine sucks, no matter who makes it, they all have problems. Fourth, up until 2014, the Mazda 6 was not a real Mazda, once again, built by Ford. Fifth, the recall for the Tribute for the throttle sticking was only on a V6 motor because of the engine cover laying too low from a valve cover stud and causing the cruise control cable to stick under rapid acceleration. Sixth, most of you with bad motors, youre not really doing your oil changes on time, so shut up. Seventh, mismatched or differently worn tires can/will cause damage to transfer cases, transmissions, and rear differentials. Eighth, cars rust especially if you live in an area where salt is used all winter. Ninth, your personal mechanic buddy probably cant describe the difference between 4WD and AWD, he doesnt know everything, he just wants to seem like the good guy so he gets your business. And tenth, if you have a RX8, its not a race car, rev it up before you shut it off to avoid flooding, and DONT MODIFY IT. Hope this sums up all your complaints easy because I got sick of trying to help people with ideas of what may be wrong.

I bought a car here 6 months ago. I had some bad experience but my wife insisted on buying something, so I did. Paperwork included many extra charges. They sold a prepaid maintenance plan - charged us for premium plan but paperwork said basic plan. Took me a while to get the errors corrected. Recently my car had a recall. Called the dealer. Literally, the conversation with dimitry went like this:I: I heard there is a Mazda recall. Dmitry: Yea, dont worry, we will call you. I: this sounds bad. Whats the issue? Dmitry: hey, no one died. So dont worry. I: are you sure? You sound so casual about it. Dmitry: are you looking for a free loaner or some free things? I: what? You sound bad. Is there a manager I can talk to. Dmitry: this is as good as it gets. What else can I do for you.WOW! Called the manager later on. Sal. He was no better either. This dealership has NASTY scammers masquerading as salespeople and service folks. Try calling the service dept to talk to a service specialist. You will NOT be able to reach anyone, no matter how many times you try. I regret buying Mazda and especially from this dealer. I will not go back to this dealer.

I am disappointed with my Mazda experience. To start off with, I was lied to when I bought my Tribute. The salesperson took advantage of my inexperience and need for a quick sale. I wanted a car with Bluetooth capabilities. There was a phone deckle on one of the buttons so I said good it has Bluetooth. Not once was I corrected even after saying at least five more times that that was a deal breaker. I am on the road a lot and depend on my phone. I was told that I didnt need a 4X4 that the Tribute would make it through any snow and ice and have no problem getting up my sister’s drive because of the weight of the engine, and the space between the wheels was so large. I got stuck in the parking lot at work today. I had to be pulled out, not impressed. My starter went on my Tribute a couple of months ago. It is a 2012 Tribute, and the starter went once again not impressed. And when I got my car back, there was grease all over the hood. When people ask me what I drive, I say a Mazda Tribute and if they ask me if I would recommend it, I say no and would suggest not looking at Mazda. Pretty sad when I am paying a payment beyond my means, and I have to borrow a 4X4 just to go to work to pay for a car that is sitting in my driveway because it wont move in the Alberta weather.

On May 21, 2013, I bought a new Mazda 6 Sedan - full optional, including the Red Soul extra paint. Just few miles away, I noticed 3 spots on the front hood. The paint is extremely thin and it is difficult to see the clear coat with a magnifier lens. I brought the car to the dealer and they said it is normal to get spots because of road sand. I washed the car and one more spot appeared. Because of my firm complaints, I was able to get an appointment with an inspector from Mazda and now Im waiting to see him. Paint quality is unacceptably cheap for that car standard. Should I expect the car surface to be pitting away day by day?

Mazda 2015 - Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with Mazda windshield breaking easily when hit by a rock. We only had our car for 9 months and we had our windshield replaced twice already! The first one happened twice in one week after 3 months purchasing the car. Now, it happened again after six months. The first replacement was an original Mazda windshield, now we are trying a different brand to see if it happens again. I had a Toyota Celica year 2001 for 12 years but never encounter this type of problem, so I dont think its my driving. I hope they do something about this, because according to the company that did my car the first time, they have also had plenty of repairs done for the same car. Hope this review helps!

I bought a 2008 Mazda Cx9 two weeks ago. The blower motor went out and I saw several complaint on that because of leaking water from the driver side. Secondly, when I release the break, it makes this hard click and when you change to drive or reverse. The car has 57k miles on it and for the year, that is too many problems. They should make a recall on that blower motor and the water leaking from the a/c. I had a 2000 Tahoe with 172 miles and never had to replace any big things. This would be the last purchase for Mazda and I dont recommend it to anyone. I should have stayed with American made. Spending $20k for an auto that I have to fix two weeks later. What a piece of junk. I would like to let the owner of the Mazda to look at this two complaints. The car had only one owner and I just realized why he returned his car. Also, the motor moves when you press the gas. I dont know if that is normal, but I hope the motor doesnt drop while I am driving. Thank you, I will be waiting for a response.

Help me please! My engine problems began at 38,000 mi. Dealership only replaced VVT actuator once, before stating it was over a year therefore they would not replace a second time without my covering the cost. Another dealership fought corporate to have it covered. I was thankful! Then real problems began. Two turbos later and many code lights naming everything under Mazda sun, I had the last ever illuminating engine light that would not clear regardless of what Mazda service did. I hate this company. It was finally paid off but I had to sell it for $5000, because it needed a new engine. The private engine dealer suggested I not even spend the money for a new engine because it would be the same garbage that was in there.

Mazda MX-5 drain system design flaw. Mazda NA does not care. I had a very similar experience to previous post by Daniel of Palo Alto, CA on Feb. 2, 2011. Mazda North America customer service seems happy to lose a lifetime of customer loyalty for a $10 parts and maybe $100 labor fix that was a known issue since mid-production year 2006-2007. I should have been notified or the quick fix should have been done at one of the many visits to the dealership I had between 2008 and 2010 (over $16k in invoices over those years). I cannot begin to speak how angering it was that customer service insisted the entire Mazda NA Operations does not have access to Technical Service Bulletins (TSB), and therefore it would be up to the dealership to cover the fix for a manufacturing design flaw if they desired. I told the rep that the dealership actually pointed the other way citing that Mazda NA has to decide to cover it free of charge since it is not the dealership that designed the drain system. I told the rep that I want to speak with another more experienced agent or a supervisor to confirm that. The rep flat out flipped the script citing, No. No other agent or supervisor can help you. I am sorry you do not understand that. I am sorry that you interpret what I said that way. I am sorry that no one here can help you. I am ending this call now. Are you serious?! Are they trying to hurt market share? I personally will not be buying a Mazda again unless I have disposable income for a disposable car. The damage to their reputation in North America has been done in my eyes.

I received a SSPA9 (Special Service Program) notice (gap between a instrument panel and information display) on October 2017. I called my local dealer (Scott Mazda of Allentown) three times and last call being on Feb.6 2018 and each time I was told that the parts are on backorder. I since forgot about it until today because I had to bring the car in for another common problem that a RECALL should be issued for (flickering lights while breaking) and asked about it again, but unfortunately I was informed that the SSPA9 has expired. I called Mazda customer service and was told that I shouldve brought the car to the dealer and gotten a work order to prove that I had the problem!. I wish someone had told me that the last time I called (Feb. 6 2018). Seems to me like a very convenient way to avoid paying for the repair!!!.

While the 2014 cx-5 has some nice features such as blind spot monitor, (which is kind of necessary since rear visibility is not that great) it has some quirks that I dont like. If you live in the hills, the fancy moving headlights are horrible, visibility on low beams drops off so that if you are traveling up or down hill you have to put on your brights to see. We have the touring model which has a push button start but no button on the door so you have to pull out the fob to enter the car. A minor inconvenience but the most annoying thing I discovered the hard way is that if the fob drops out of your purse into the seat, and you lock the door, you will get locked out of your car. We had Push button start Nissans for 8 years and if you tried to lock the door with the fob inside it would alert you with a beep and open the doors. In the Mazda, you just get locked out. The final issue is the climate control knob. Shortly after purchase, the climate control knob would not stay on defrost and the air wasnt coming out of the vents it was supposed to. We contacted the dealership and they checked it and fixed it, but a month later it did the same thing. We contacted them again and they said that Mazda was aware of the problem and they had to special order a part by vin # to correct it. We had it fixed a second time and its been 3 weeks and the climate control wont click into defrost again! The dealership has been good about wanting to fix it, but so far they havent been able to figure it out. The dealership said our cx-5 was not the only one with this issue. Perhaps they have fixed some of these quirks with the 2015 /2016 models? I wont buy one again. Im going back to Nissan.

This Mazda CX-5 had replaced one that I really enjoyed. But it does fulfill my needs but its not the type of car I would normally pick out. I like the fact that is all wheel drive. I like the pep in the engine and the gas mileage. I do like the fact that every Mazda has a GPS in it and I like the heated seats. I own a Mazda CX7. I received the Mazda notice concerning the timing chain quite a few months back. I actually went to have the car checked due to the notice, and I found that there was a problem with mine. This is no lie, what I am about to tell you. On the way back from the shop, my timing chain broke! This caused an enormous amount of damage, and thereby I have incurred a huge bill to have this fixed. I contacted Mazda Corp and explained that I had no way to indicate that I have had all the oil changes done due to the fact that my husband changes our oil on all our cars. They said to me that I have no recourse and there are no loopholes for my situation. They will not honor the situation.I am extremely disappointed in the service and the behavior of Mazda Corp. I have recently learned that others have experienced this same problem. Even though Mazda knew that there was a problem and thereby sent the notice in the first place, they are still unwilling to fix the problem or take care of the monetary damages. I am asking everyone who reads this and has had a problem with Mazda concerning this situation to contact me because I am going to file a Civil Suit against Mazda, but we must join forces in order to do this. Thank you.

I have a 2009 Mazda 6. I have replaced pretty much all of the bulbs at some point in the 4 years Ive owned this car (headlights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.). In total, I would estimate probably 10-12 times. A few I did have done at Valvoline when I had a quick oil change and they noticed a bulb out. But I have also had it to the dealer several times pleading with them to figure out why the car keeps blowing bulbs. Their answer every time just the bulb and bulbs blow which means I have to pay for it because warranty doesnt cover unless its a defect. Ive owned several other cars both new and old and never had to replace more than 1-2 bulbs in my life. Same goes for every single person I talk about this. Why is it everyone thinks theres something more going on except the dealer? So I dropped it off again this morning and they are already trying to tell me last bulb I replaced was passenger side and this time its driver side, so probably just the bulb again but they will do a diagnostic and my charge will be a minimum of $90 for that. Very dissatisfied with Mazda and the dealer (Jeff Schmidt Mazda in Beavercreek, Ohio). Very poor customer service. Do they really think its okay to have to replace a bulb in your car every 3 months?! I will never own another Mazda or buy a car from this dealer again. I strongly advise anyone reading this to do the same.

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6, loaded with their technology package. The GPS was the worst ever experienced. It would then suddenly advise to turn, when almost through the intersection. The front drivers seat had limited settings. I went to Mazda for service and all I got was a shoulder shrug. I sent a note to Mazda and didnt even get a response. After 8 months of problems I dumped this car and took a loss of approximately $8,000. I purchased my 2008 Mazda Tribute brand new. The first year (8 months after purchase), I noticed a sound in my car. I quickly took it to the dealer I purchased my car from. As soon as I pulled up to the dealership, the mechanic told me that it was a belt and was easy to fix at $150. He informed me that a lot of Tributes had been coming in with this issue, but not a big deal. I had it fixed. There were a few minor issues afterwards. Fast forward 2 years later, my car mysteriously would not start. I would have to catch a cab to work. When I called a mechanic to come out to take a look at my Mazda, it started (what!). This went on for about 6 months. I went on a trip to NY and once again it would not start. The dashboard cluster defaulted; cost to fix was $1000. I took it to a certified dealer and while fixing it, they informed me that I also had a transmission leak which would cost me $1500 to fix. At this time, a recall notice had been mailed and I was unaware of this issue. I needed my car being a single mother of 3; I had no choice. Fast forward to present day, 2013, about a week ago, my car started making loud noises. I took it back to the dealer I purchased my car from. Guess what! My transmission has to be replaced cost $3600 (really!) and I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that. Unfortunately, I was one of the millions hit with layoffs; no income. I called Mazda corporate and informed them that I was not aware of the recall notice sent out in 2011. The customer service rep informed me that there wasnt a recall and that I was misinformed. I informed her that I got the information off their website and from the dealership. She was not empathetic to my situation. I understand that my warranty expired. However, I feel that a recall should never expire. If you are aware that a defected part has been placed in your product, you have a responsibility to replace. I paid $17,000 for my car. With all the service issues, Im close to $7000 in repairs and towing fees - almost half the cost of the car. This is not fair to me and others, who work hard all our lives, especially when my car only has 75,000 miles and Im the only owner and now when money is nonexistent to me. Please do not purchase a Mazda. It’s a money pit.

First, I would like to say I have been satisfied with my Mazda product. I have had my car now for 12 years and have had virtually no issues other than normal maintenance. However, my car has had several recalls, one of which came after I had already had and paid for the repair. That is where I have my problem with Mazda. The recall stated it takes 6-8 weeks to process a claim on repairs that have been recalled, o.k., I get it. I sent my recall reimbursement form and supporting documents registered mail, which was a smart move on my part, because they first tried to claim that they did not receive my recall repayment request. I told them that a representative had signed for the registered mail 4 days after I sent it. So they requested. I fax the form and supporting documents. I waited approximately 4 weeks to see what the status on my refund was. Mazda Recall Center told me they cant send a check because the repair was made with a credit payment (it was a debit card that was used for the payment on an account I had already closed). So they told me after a week later, when I called again, that they would have to get an approval to send a check. I waited 2 more weeks, called and was told that the check should be on the way 2-3 weeks. I waited 3 weeks to call back, and have now been told that it will take another 2-3 weeks to get the reimbursement. I feel as the Mazda is Hemming and Hawing with this issue for whatever reason and would like to know if anyone else has been having this type of issue with Mazda.

Their company does not take responsibility for their own defects. They manufacturer things incorrectly then expect you to pay for it. The dashboard on my Mazda 3 was separated from the digital screen. According to their customer service my 2010 vehicle was only covered for 7 years for this and a recall was sent out for this but if you did not have the issue at the time they wouldnt fix it for you. Now 9 years later, my dashboard has disconnected due to their ERROR but they refuse to cover it. I will never buy another Mazda again.

I bought my Mazda 3 hatchback 3.5 months ago. I live in the Chicagoland area and on a recent freezing day I came out to the car after work to find that the rear drivers side window had shattered completely. Thankfully the car is under warranty and my dealer made it very easy to fix but I dont think this should happen.

At the time of purchase they said the service would be free for the first year and also said they would add the tint on the vehicle. But when I went there for first service, they asked to pay for service and tint. Staff there are very ridiculous... were not even responding properly when I went there to ask!!

Well, guess what? That vibration that they supposedly fixed (with used parts - that I did not authorize) - still rears it head every now and then. I got stuck with the car and they had to change the valve body - on a brand new car that had roughly 3000 miles on it (yes, that is 3 thousand miles) and ever since I have a hard downshift that although the tech tells me he feels, the dealership repair center tells me is normal - this is of course after I returned it because of the hard downshift and the Rep told me that the computer needed to relearn my driving habits. Almost 1000 miles later, it is still doing it.NOW for the new problems. Yesterday I went to shift out of park and the transmission did not shift. 3 times I tried, finally it shifted. This morning I went to start my car via remote and I kept getting a P code on the fob. Book says its because the car was not in PARK. (Um yeah okay - car was parked in the driveway since 6pm the night before... and shut off). Cant wait for the BS they tell me now... Do yourself a favor. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MAZDA. NO ONE - I REPEAT - NO ONE IS HELPFUL AND ALL THEY DO IS LIE TO YOU.

Took the car into the Mazda dealer and they said that the bulb alone was going to be $266.75 AND - that the mechanism behind it and the entire housing would have to be replaced!!! Because they cannot get to the light from under the hood, the entire front panel would have to be removed AND it was going to cost OVER $2000.00 FOR THE HEADLIGHT!!! Yikes!!!! I wanted to cry... Trying to speak with others about options. Of course, the warranty is no longer in effect. Needed to vent!!!!!

I bought a 2007 Mazda CX7 with 28k miles on it. I love my car, except now we have issues. At 30k miles, the timing chain was replaced under warranty. The weekend before Christmas, the turbo went out. We had the car towed back to our Mazda dealership where they filed a claim with Mazda and it was denied due to sludge. We have always had our oil changed and even provided our service records. They still denied the claim. As having all this done, we did learn that this is not the first turbo for our car! One was replaced at 12k miles! Now I am trying to deal with getting it fixed and from what I am seeing, many people have the same problem! Please email me if this has happened to you! Thank you!

Now its in the shop again for the same thing. Compressor/air conditioning system went out. This car has about 3000 miles on it. I contacted Mazda on all levels because I want a new car. I am still waiting to hear from the dealership. I currently have their loaner. Trust me. This is so very frustrating!

I bought my 2021 Mazda CX-5 in February of 2021 in Saint Louis, Missouri. I travel for work and I am currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. My vehicle began making a roaring sound from the passenger side tire. I thought it was odd because my car only has 30,000 miles on it. I took it to a local mechanic because the closest Mazda dealership is over 100 miles away. And I did not feel comfortable driving it. Turns out my wheel bearing is bad. I called Mazda customer service and they said “Yes that wheel bearings are covered under warranty, and they can call for a tow truck but there is no guarantee that a tow truck will be able to come get it, and if they do there will be no guarantee that it can be dropped back off. I have no other vehicle to pick it up. I asked if I could just take my vehicle to a mechanic and have them repair it and be reimbursed and the customer service rep said, “no it will have to be a Mazda dealership for warranty to cover it.”In conclusion, there is no guarantee that my vehicle will be picked up, and if it is there is no guarantee that it will be dropped off. Also no reimbursement so I am paying out of pocket. What is the point of a “warranty” that does not give you options to repair your vehicle? The customer service rep said she would transfer me to her supervisor and that she also sent her my number in case we got disconnected. She hung up the phone and I never received a call from her supervisor. Mazda warranty is **.

Been very happy with the Mazda 5 for the most part. It drives well, is not too expensive to run, and has not needed many repairs. Also fits nicely into our very tiny one-car garage, which is a definite plus. I choose it because the storage area could hold all of the items I knew I would need to carry there, which was the main reason was shopping for a new vehicle. But I dislike that there is only one keylock, on the drivers door. To open any of the other doors, must first open driver door, then use inside controls to open rest of doors.

OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal. Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car. Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.

I recently bought a Mazda CX-5 (2 months ago). At the time of purchase I had only a couple of criteria but they were very important to me since I put A LOT of mileage on my cars. (My last car was a 2007 and it had 380,000 km on it when I finally decided to buy a new car.) My criteria: The car needed to have XM/Sirius availability, a bluetooth that enabled true hands free use of my cell phone calls and an easy to use, straightforward navigation system. I was told the CX 5 I was purchasing had all three… WHAT A LIE!!!I paid an extra $1300 for the tech package to be installed into the car that would supposedly allow all three of above criteria. Immediately it was evident that something was wrong with the navigation (or so I thought). It took no less than 7 step to input any address into it. It was impossible to use on the fly and required not only pulling over to input info BUT it demanded 6 more levels of information before it would give me directions! Im serious. After returning to Budds dealership to attempt to gain further insight on how to correct this issue it became evident that NONE of the salespeople knew how to operate it! NONE! Not even the sales manager. We had to contact the Navigation system manufacturers in the state to find out what the problem was. Turns out, there was no problem. That was the crappy-ass cheap nav system that Mazda had ordered for their 2016 CX line of cars!!! Oh - by the way, the voice recognition is non-existent. Now I am back to driving around having to rely on my iPhone Google Maps to direct me on my travels. Nice to know Mazda has our backs (tongue firmly planted in check) helping its customers abide by the hands free driving rules now strictly in place in Canada and the US. There is no excuse for this type of 20th century technology in todays 21st century, seriously?? The XM was a joke, it does not actually show up on the in-dash display. It is provided exclusively by a tiny little remote that has push buttons. No scrolling capability, no visual feedback about what station you are on or listening to, unbelievable. By the way, I had the tech package removed and requested my $1300 back. My Bluetooth is another matter, cuts in and out on a regular basis. I have to reconnect my phone and the cars bluetooth at least 4 times a month. Again, as with the nav system, the voice recognition is non-existent.I HATE THIS CAR. $40,000 and 7 yrs of car payments for the privilege of driving a car with no nav system, XM/Sirius or bluetooth capability. So basically I am back driving around having to use my iPhone for cell calls and google maps. One more thing, the gas mileage sucks, the tank is the size of a football. I am filling up every second or third day AND it sounds like a diesel engine when you first start it up. I thought something was wrong with the muffler when I first started driving it. Turns out the loud engine and exhaust noise is the result of the skyactiv technology they use, another huge marketing BS story they try to sell you about why Mazda is so advanced. Did I mention HOW MUCH I HATE THIS CAR??

I purchased a used 2008 Mazda CX-7 in 2010. The car was in mint condition. A few months later, I would occasionally hear a ticking in the engine but the car ran fine so I thought nothing of it. I kept up with my oil changes. Last Thursday, I started the car and heard a terrible noise in the engine and my check engine light came on. I went home and did some research and discovered that the timing chain on the VVT is a huge issue with this vehicle. Thousands of inquiries and complaints. I researched recalls and discovered that Mazda has extended the warranty to 70,000 miles. My car has 52,000 miles. I called the dealership and they confirmed the extended warranty and told me to bring my car in. He said nothing else except that it would be covered. When I got to the dealership, they inspected the vehicle to make sure it was the timing chain problem before I left it. The service manager came out to the waiting room and asked me to talk with him privately in an office. He showed me a paper towel with what looked like chunky oil. He told me he would not be able to cover my car under the extended warranty because I had sludge and did not maintain my vehicle properly. I took that as an insult and told him I did get my oil changed. He asked me to provide receipts which seems ridiculous to me. Unless someone goes to one oil change place religiously, how do you keep track of all of those receipts? In my case, I have a friend do most of my oil changes. No receipts. I called Mazda direct to complain. They told me that they would forgo the receipts if they had permission to remove the valve cover and check the condition. At my expense! I called about 6 independent mechanics around town and they all told me the CX-7 has a sludge issue. That no vehicle with 50,000 miles would have sludge that bad even if oil changes werent performed at regular intervals. That no vehicle should need a timing chain at 50,000 miles. It is an obvious defect in the design and Mazda doesnt want to pay out millions to correct their mistake. I cannot afford a $1200 repair and now after reading all of these complaints, Im afraid my engine is going to blow. Mazda needs to take care of their customers!

After buying a 2015 Mazda CX-5 pre-owned vehicle I had a drivetrain issue at 60K miles that cost $2800 to repair in October of 2021. Even though the preowned warranty was for 7 years and 100K miles they wouldnt cover the repair costs due to some technicality they cited with the warranty agreement. The original dealership changed ownership twice in the three years, so I brought the car to another dealership for repairs and dealt with Mazda corporate for reimbursement. The dealership that did the repairs agreed it was faulty drivetrain parts, but told me Mazda corporate said it was out of warranty. After repeated attempts to contact the customer experience center both by phone and email, over several months, I could never get past their first line of customer service to make my case to anyone with any authority to review my case. On several occasions they indicated they would get back to me, but never did. I would recommend against buying a new or preowned Mazda. They do not stand behind their product as evidenced by the initial faulty drivetrain and lack of customer support.- Steve

My husband bought me a 1998 Mazda 626 in June. In July I took to car to get a tune up and to see why the check engine light was on. When they hooked the car up to the machine they told me that the the first spark plug was misfiring and that it showed up that the threads from that spark plug was crossed. I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that someone had glued the spark plug and all my mechanic had to do was to wipe the glue off and the do the tune up. So I said okay and took the car back to Mekinee here in Raleigh. Well, they said they werent going to touch the car so I called up the dealership and they said for me to bring the car to them, I said okay. While Im on my way to take them the car, all of sudden the car broke down along the side of the highway. They came and towed the car, so the following day my husband who is in the military came home and we went down to check on the car and thats when they told us that the transmission was gone on the car. This car only has around 100,000 miles on it , now I dont know what to do and the dealership has completely stopped having contact with me and my husband.

Got the Mazda Tribute secondhand really cheap... runs really well... have not had any issues except flat tire and the key not wanting to come out of the ignition. Also, the gear shift sticks but I attribute that to the previous owner letting her kids accidentally spill a soda on it. It has grey color... spacious design... has cruise control that works great. I love any kind of SUV/Crossover... they have so much more room than even a large car... great for trips... modern and sleek design. But I wish it had better quality interior material and design. The clutch on my Mazda 6 (bought new) wore out after approximately 10,000 miles. Replaced by Mazda Main Agents, this also failed after approx. 10,000 miles. Again replaced by Mazda Main Agent, and lasted only around 10,000 miles. Regularly serviced by the same Mazda Main Agents (except just once).I am 81 years old, have held a driving license for well over 60 years. For many years did all my own servicing, maintenance and repairs. You name it and I have almost certainly had it in pieces. The exceptions being gearboxes and differentials. (Never had one of these fail). I claimed reimbursement for these repairs, but was told it was due to my riding the clutch. Rubbish! when I learned to drive back in the 1950s riding the clutch was a sin because, in those days cars were fitted with carbon (graphite) clutch thrust bearings which being soft would wear out very quickly if one rode the clutch, modern cars are fitted with tapered roller bearings or simple ball races. I never wore one out but the ingrained lesson never to ride the clutch has stayed with me ever since.A letter later from them suggested that I was accelerating away from traffic lights etc. too hard, insinuating that perhaps I was a bony racer. In my 20s, 30s and 40s this MIGHT have been the case, but in my 70s and now 80s I am long passed such behavior. I have done everything required of me prior to taking them to the small claims court, including utilizing the facilities of Mediators but they still keep coming up with silly replies. The latest being that I have the clutch examined by an authorized independent company. They also said that this would be impossible because the parts were thrown away on being removed. I am about to write to them yet again informing them that I have, together with other items, both the clutch and the scored flywheel that was replaced in my garage.Advice to everyone considering purchasing a new car, DO NOT BUY A MAZDA without checking the record of service one can expect from your Mazda main Agent. If anything fails, it would seem that they will do anything to avoid recompensing one for anything failing. My claim will be made under the Customer Rights and Protection Act, under the section stating that any purchase should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. All the time that this correspondence has been going on, (several months) the worry and stress has had very severe adverse effect on my health. They have been informed of this but apparently consider it not worth their while to make any comment on it. Hopefully, if you wish, I will come back to you and let you know the result.

My wife and I were in the market for a vehicle the summer of 2011. We had a check from our institution in the back pocket so we went searching. Our search starts with the Toyota Venza (new), and the Infiniti Q35 (pre-owned). We visited approximately 5 dealerships the weekend previous to July 4th, 2011 - a lot of test drives, a lot of negotiations which were close, but not as satisfactory. After not moving the needle as much as we had desired, my wife has an idea to check out the dealership of Mazda in Huntington Beach. We look at the Cx7 & Cx9 (new) and after test driving a few, she decides to look into the Cx7 as she was previously unfamiliar with the vehicle. After mulling options over (blank check was good for up to 40k in financing, 4.1 APR) she decides to purchase the Mazda (24,900). We select a model, which has 13 miles on it - and though others (Venza, Infinity) were her chief desire, she believes that the decision was a good, more economical one. We (she) purchases the vehicle July 4th, 2011.One month in, the front driver tire blows out on the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa. The car is driven to the dealer the next day - to have a tire placed on. The price was surely surprise surprise - $250.00. We push to know why the tire was so expensive, its because the size is new for this size vehicle and theres one maker of the tire. Bridgestone. We pay for it begrudgingly, and go about our way.Fast forward to February 6th, 2015, a shade over 3 years, 6 months of owning the vehicle. The vehicle history is good, maintenance is excellent (my wife is a therapist for children with autism so thats why vehicle choice was extremely important - traveling client to client in administering therapy sessions) and without warning, she cannot reverse. She can drive forward, yet is losing power when the automatic attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, so it jumps from first to 3rd.We take the vehicle to Browning Mazda in Cerritos and we are advised that the transmission needs to be replaced (3,200). 3 years 6 months 64,262 miles, excellent maintenance history, & this vehicle needs a NEW transmission? This felt like a terrible joke. The power train warranty? 3y/60k. Expired just over 4,000 miles ago. If theres an engine issue, we usually receive a warning (ie - check engine light flashes on when the oil hits around 3,500) - yet for a failed transmission the vehicle took a dump without warning. We contact Mazda (corporate) & are advised later in the day that they would pay half of the ticketed amount. Thats still egregious as there wouldnt be a vehicle sold if most buyers knew that at such ridiculous low mileage, the transmission would fail them. We retrieve the vehicle and have it looked at for two more opinions and apparently there are no codes indicating the transmission is bad, not to mention the fact the transmission itself is indicating itself being bad simply by the test drive. One transmission mechanic wanted to advise us that Mazda contains many Ford parts, including the transmission and the parts itself. He opens a book, shows a Ford Escape transmission cover (as an example to start) & shows the transmission cover for a Mazda Cx7. Same shape. Same size. Same diameter. The only difference was the material each was made out of. He also advised us that Ford held a controlling stake in Mazda for a very long time and that Mazda in engine make up is similar to many Ford vehicles.Im thankful for such insight as now, my wife, shes back to square one. We will just take it on the chin, pay the dealer, trade it in and get into the vehicle she wanted to originally (Toyota Venza) as it has a powertrain of 7y/100k, and we have another blank check and a few we are willing to pay more of a premium for now as opposed to settling (which appears now, that we did).My advice, if you could help it remain in a Toyota (I drive a Lexus and plan to remain with Toyota) or Honda (my wife bought a Civic new in 2001, drove it to 2011 without issue, netting 170k miles before selling to a UCI college student, then purchasing this Mazda vehicle). If my story helps you even a little bit, I am definitely thankful. This experience feels completely underhanded and we feel hoodwinked.

At 54,000 miles, our Mazda 08 CX turbo went out. We had it towed to the dealer where we bought it and they said the turbo had sludge in it. Every time we had our oil changed, they would say our oil is dirty and low. How is this possible when we did regular oil changes? Now, doing a little research on our model year, it turns out that many people have had this very same issue, with the same results. Mazda will not warranty the part without service records. Well, I dont have all my oil change receipts for the last 5 years, so now what? Mazda even extended the warranty for the turbo because they know its bad. Has anyone been able to get this part fixed under warranty? If so, tell me how you did it so I can get this done. Thanks.

I bought my CX7 new in September 2007. I love the vehicle except for its very poor reliability. It has cost me in excess of $2000 a year to maintain this vehicle. Most parts that fail are notorious for failing but Mazda either wont cover the cost or their extended warranty is so meager it doesnt apply to my vehicle because of the mileage e.g. AC compressor; Oxy Sensor. I just discovered that my engine bay high pressure fuel pump is not working properly. I replaced the one in fuel tank 8 months ago and if it fails, it can wreck the engine. Mazda wants $1400 for the part! A better quality aftermarket part is available for less than half this price. Also, the Oxygen sensor on the Cat Converter has to be replaced at huge cost. I replaced the other one eight months ago. Together my current repair bill will be about $2000 including labor. You can find lots of stories just like mine on the internet (e.g. Edmunds).

I would like to warn you people out there about this dealership, seems to be a common theme with Mazda. This link verifies that the entire Mazda corporation has a systemic problem with accountability and safety measures. A dealership that sells a vehicle to a senior citizen with dementia is an all time low, unless youre Midway Mazda which seems to be acceptable. You can get this information from the MVSA BC complaints and cases against this particular dealership under the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA). Actually you can see it online as well, because it did go to court.Furthermore, they have had at least 9 abandoned cases all in a row, dating back to 2008 courtesy of the MVSA (Motor Vehicle Sales Authority which is Non-Profit, meaning donations and taxpayer funded) in which the MVSA manager indicates they lost those files, updating the computer system. MVSA is no better than the slum dealership it represents. They talk their way out of any type of action. If youre thinking about filing a complaint against Mazda through MVSA, make sure you read the policies and know your rights. Funny thing is that the MVSA Manager didnt even know what his own policies were, and when I told him, he was in disbelief and denial. If its in writing then its legal, talk is cheap. I waited over 9 months just to get a meeting, because they kept blowing me off, and didnt even bother to tell me why? This dealership falsified the inspection reports and would not take care of any issues brought up that were safety hazards, or even non-safety issues that cost me money out of my pocket. Its simple, downright neglectful and deceitful. The entire process from start to end was absolutely ridiculous from non-service to the product. I have been dealing with this issue for just about 2 years. I have wrote reviews, and sent letters to every organization and governing body under the sun. I have all the proof in the world, and civil court is the only way to go now. I would think twice about this dealership and I will make sure everyone knows about it too. I also would not buy from the Nissan next to this dealership as it is the same owner. Make yourselves accountable, instead of hiding behind poor policy, excuses and lies, because in the end it will hit your wallet! Disappointed taxpayer/owner of a Mazda.

I leased a Mazda in August of last year. I got in a car accident in January. Mazda in Palm Beach Gardens has my car for repair. They can not give me a date since they cant get parts until maybe June. Mazda Financial told me to trade the lease in for a new one, I spent 5 hours at Mazda in PBG they wanted to offer me the same car @ 750.00 a month vs the 300.00 I am paying currently as well as 5000. down and trade in the car they are repairing. I have called Mazda corp, Mazda Financial as well as the Mazda dealership for some help with no returned phone. They will NOT give me a loaner car because they only give out loaners for service issues. My current position is I have NO car. No idea when it will be fixed. Paying 300.00 a month for my lease as well as 1500.00 a month for a rental car.

Sold my 1990 Mazda 626 with roughly 225,000 miles on it back in 2005. The car was great, replaced master cylinder for the clutch and alternator in the 50,000 miles I had the car. The RX8 had no issues, it is a car that needs its oil checked often due to the design of the engine, and you have to drive it hard to clear the carbon off the tips. I took it to 9k almost everyday for 2 years with no issues on the car whatsoever. People that complain about engine failures are mostly idiots that shouldnt be driving a rotary to begin with. Mazda was nice enough due to the large amount of idiots blowing engines that they extended the warranty for all owners to 10 yrs 100k miles on the powertrain. The speed 3 I had for a few years as well, no problems besides a rear side window that had a slight imperfection upon delivery which was replaced by Mazda. Now I have a Mazda 6 2014. I have about 25k miles on it averaging about 30mpg. No issues whatsoever. I have seen the advertised 40mpg or above when going 60mph or less, but that never happens with me. In short Mazda is an amazing company with awesome products at an affordable price. People with cars that are almost 10 yrs old or older should not be able to leave comments about parts breaking, THE CARS 10 yrs OLD!! Step it up and get something newer or stop complaining.

It has been a great vehicle so far and its comfortable to ride in. I love how I just need the key fob in my pocket/purse and can lock/unlock with one touch and a key is not needed to be placed in ignition. It is very dependable. It is also very comfortable and fun to drive. I chose this for the third row seat to upgrade from the CX-7 I owned. I like the leather seats, sunroof, rear view camera, keyless entry and driving and fold down third row seat. But I would like for it have Apple CarPlay, more leg room in third row, seat coolers and better softer leather seats like previous CX-9 models have.

I find the ride very hard and seats are not the most comfortable. Seatbelt is badly positioned and interior feels cramped. Also, Mazda CX-5 is very noisy, sounds like a window or door is always open. But it does have a lot of pick up on the road and gets great gas mileage.

It has been good so far. It is good on gas and seems to be mostly reliable. Has a pretty big trunk for a little car. Runs pretty good. It is great for me and my daughter but has a good size back seat if we want to take others with us. It has some updated technology so that is nice, I can connect my phone and it is really easy to drive. It was the car I was able to get approved for so that is what I bought. However, the headlights have to be turned on and off manually, my old car had running lights so I didnt have to worry about the lights all the time. It is pretty low to the ground so it is a big change from an SUV.

I took my 2006 Mazda Tribute into the dealership for an oil change, after three days, the car had broken down. I found out that there were no fluids in the car, so the engine was cracked. I left it at the dealership for resolution. After 8 weeks of no response, we had the car towed back to the house. We called the Mazda Corporate Office but to no avail. Im disgusted with it all. I also purchased a Mazda 2005 RX8 the same day as this one, spent over $30,000 for that car, had to have 3 new engines within a year (what a joke).

Long story so bear with me. Youll be glad you did if you are having any thoughts of buying a CX-7 or any of the other Mazdas with the same engine. I have a 2007 Mazda CX-7 with a little over 100,000 miles on it. This is the most expensive car we have ever bought and I babied it - had it serviced and oil changed every 3,000 miles even though others said every 5,000 was usually adequate. This summer (2013) I headed out on an 18 day/5,000+ miles road trip. Day two of the road trip (770 miles from home) my check engine light came on. Took it to AutoZone so they could pull the code. Code said coolant was low (it wasnt) and two other things that all checked out fine. Went to restart the car to leave... D.E.A.D! Replaced the battery, cleared the check engine light and went on our way. That evening 150 miles down the road, the check engine light came BACK on AGAIN. Just happened to be in Colorado Springs where I bought the car, so called that dealership to see if they could check it out for me the next day. Two full days and $2000 later, I had a new thermostat, a new seal on my transfer case, and the #3 engine mount which had collapsed (for no apparent reason) had been replaced. Should have turned around and gone home at this point! Two days and 425+ miles down the road in Rock Springs, Wyoming, my check engine light came on again. A local mechanic pulled the code for me and said it was either my timing chain or the variable valve timer - both major repairs. Called the friendly service manager in C. Springs to inform him of my dilemma and was told, Oh yes. Thats a KNOWN issue with your car, but sorry ... theres not much we can do for you from here. Apparently Mazda extended the warranty 10,000 miles (70,000 miles or 7 years - big deal) because of this known part failure. When questioned as to why this known defect was not even mentioned when they had my car in the shop for two days of my vacation, the friendly service manager turned into a complete ** and became very defensive and condescending. The Rock Springs mechanic suggested I rent a U-Haul and tow it home. With my only other option being to vacation in Rock Springs for a week until someone could even look at the car, I rented a U-Haul truck and trailer (you cant tow an all-wheel drive vehicle) and pulled the POS back to Cheyenne, where I had a place to stay and a known mechanic could hopefully fix the thing.A week and a half later and another $1,000 in car repairs, the car was supposedly ready to make the drive home road trip cancelled! I was lucky because the failure of the VVT had not damaged/destroyed the rods or valves of the engine in my case or so I was told. Less than a mile down the road, the check engine light came on again and the car started making a horrendous noise that it had not previously made. Back to the mechanic who told me I was just gun shy and that I needed to drive it around some more to get rid of the air pockets created by the repair work. Drive it I did out to the interstate where the check engine light started flashing at me and then promptly died, leaving me stranded once again. This time every light on the dash came on check engine, battery, oil you name it! The mechanic came to the exit ramp where it died with his tool kit apparently thinking he could fix it on the spot. He looked under the hood and called for yet another flatbed truck! He said the only explanation was that the NEW VVT received from Mazda had also failed and now my engine was destroyed valves and rods bent/broken kaput. When I went to clean my stuff out of the car the next day so we could return home in our only option - a rental car, I was told that even though the best mechanic in town had taken my engine apart and put it all back together again to confirm that my valves werent damaged from the first VVT failure, they actually WERE damaged and I am now looking at either a VERY costly total engine repair OR total replacement of the engine in a 7-year-old $36,000 car. Mazda claims that there is 100% occurrence of valve/engine damage when that known defective VVT part fails on their cars, yet there was no recall. My husband says recalls are usually only put into place when it involves safety. Call me crazy, but Im thinking that had that part failed in the middle of nowhere, that might have affected my safety. Bottom line here is: Mazda has a known defect on a part in thousands of their vehicles a defect that when that part fails, it results in the damage/destruction of the valves and rods in otherwise working engines in ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the cases (according to MAZDA). How can Mazda NOT be responsible for these repairs?!?!And just as an added incentive to run out and buy a Mazda (dripping sarcasm), this same beloved car was found to have a cracked/defective radiator at (I believe) just under 36,000 miles so just barely squeaked by under warranty, AND it had to have a whole new transmission at just under 60,000 so again barely squeaked by on the warranty on that one. Clearly my luck ran out. Oh and one more thing, my husbands 2001 Mazda Tribute that we owned until 2010 had an electrical panel in the engine that short-circuit while in the parking lot of his office and caught the car on fire one day a couple summers ago. Great cars!

I leased a Mazda 3, hatchback in August 2016. At my 10k servicing at the dealership, they indicated unusual wearing of tires. I asked for them to be replaced. They said no, it was a limited warranty on the tire. At 15k servicing, the same conversation. At 20k, the same conversation. Found out these tires on a new car, have no mileage warranty... at all. The dealership will not replace the tires. At 32 months of the lease and 22,700 miles they will do nothing. I like the car, but not the tires, and Mazda will do nothing, as the dealership watches a customer complain, and knows it is a problem. Others have complained about the same thing. I would not purchase or lease another auto from Mazda, or Groove Mazda, in Centennial. Really poor support of a customer. Not what anyone wants.

At approximately 2 years old, my car started tripping the check engine light and AT light. So, I took it to the dealership to have it checked out. It had around 26,000 miles at the time. They cleared the light and said a cable must have been loose or something. Fast forward two months and again, it was the same issue. But this was followed by leaving me stranded. I had it towed and they diagnosed it as low voltage, but werent sure if it was the battery or what. They would not move forward until the battery was replaced and apparently on a brand new car. Mazdas 3-year 36,000-mile warranty means absolutely nothing. Even though I have regular maintenance at the dealership and had it in at 24 months for the light, they would only cover 25% as it was now after 24 months. Batteries have a 12-month warranty before being pro-rated. Keep in mind, once you replace it, the exact same battery has a 3-year warranty. The battery itself even shows 36/60 on the outside. I called North American operations and they blew me off. I asked everyone else up the food chain and nothing happened. They wanted $155 for the battery at the dealership or $100 at Autozone. Ultimately, I had to buy a new battery. Since Mazda covers nothing at twice the price, I bought the one from Autozone which is a 36/8 year warranty. Mazda then proceeded to charge me $55 to put it in. Save yourself time, money, and sanity. Dont buy Mazda. And if you decide to anyway, dont buy from Suburban Mazda in Michigan. I originally bought 2 Mazda 6s from them in 2009 and they will be my last.

We purchased a new Mazda 6 and were being pushed in finance to purchase an alarm system for $350. My husband asked if the car already had an alarm system from manufacturer and we were told no. My husband thought it was odd so he asked again and the answer was still no! We then decided to purchase and later realized we have 2 alarms because it already has one. On top of this our dealer quit the next day and no one told us, so we continued to try to contact him and the rest of the staff seemed bothered when we had questions. Finally I call the manager (Mike **) about several issues and he would not return my calls. On his email responses he was rude and angry and refused to help us. I waited a week to fill out the survey to see how they would correct some of these issues and then finally I filled out the form truthfully. Mike then sends me a nasty, unprofessional email saying that because we gave him a poor score he no longer wanted to work with us! We were shocked. We are very unhappy with this dealership and wish we would have purchased this vehicle in Tustin or not purchased a Mazda at all (Even though I do like the car itself!)

Mazda Toolbox has a sole purpose to update the Navigation Map. The implementation is worst ive seen, an intern would not dare to present me such an implementation: 1. Everything takes it 20sec! 20sec to check the card, 20sec to fetch its version, 20sec to check the cloud version. Are they totally disconnected from modern applications? Do they know that google react to keystrokes as we type them?? 2. They could also show the current version and expected date of the new version to save the pain of using this application in the first place.3. They could send emails informing of a new release (they maintain accounts on the cloud with our emails). And yes you guessed it right to go to the cloud account and check something it is another 10 or 20 minutes per cloud interaction!
