I bought a new Mazda CX-5 based on reviews in 2016. It is comfortable and peppy. This is first crossover vehicle I have owned and I like it. It sits higher than a car and has more space to haul things, yet is small enough to easily park in tight spaces. So far it is very reliable.

My husband and I traded in a BMW X5 for a Mazda CX7 (year 2007) last year, 2011. We decided to go with Mazda CX7, because we believed it would be a reliable family car that would also be affordable to maintain, and is fuel efficient. We purchased our Mazda at a private dealership and purchased the top coverage warranty since the car was a 2007 model.Earlier this month, my husband took the car to the warranty approved maintenance shop for an oil change, where he was informed by the mechanic that the car needs to be repaired due to VVT damage, and that we cannot drive the car until the part is ordered and repaired. At first we were told that our warranty will cover the repair work, but it will take approximately 2 weeks for the VVT part to come in.It has now been nearly three weeks, and my husband and I still dont have our car back, since the VVT part is on backorder all over North America. We are both working parents of a two and a half year old toddler who needs to be taken to daycare every day. The CX7 is our only car, therefore in the past three weeks; weve had to rely on friends, co-workers and now a rental car to make it to work and our daughters daycare. The rental car is costing us a lot of money, and neither our warranty, nor Mazda is willing to cover the rental car fees. We have no estimate as to when the VVT part will arrive for our Mazda CX7 and no way of getting around. We are financially unable to continue paying for the rental car.Having said all that, I am extremely disappointed and angry with Mazda. It seems that VVT (variable valve timing) part is now a known problem with Mazda CX7, so this is a faulty VVT problem that Mazda is aware of, yet no one we spoke with from Mazda is willing to show any compassion for us. Mazdas response to our problem is simply that since we dont have proof of enough oil changes (weve only had the car for less than a year), and we dont have our extended warranty with Mazda, therefore its not their problem. Ive obviously been mistaken by trusting Mazda for making a reliable car, or showing any social responsibility and compassion to their customers.

2009 Mazda 6 low seating comfort - Nice car to drive but cant handle a long trip. The seats are very firm and give both me and my wife a sore ** on longer trips. I mentioned to our local dealer when serviced but they commented it was normal. My son has a BT50 and the seating is far more comfortable. I did mention the discomfort to one of the sales reps and he could not believe me. It will soon be out of warranty and just wondered if or how I could get a second opinion. If that is the way it is that’s fine, but I will more than likely sell this car for a more comfortable sedan and quite likely not bother looking at a Mazda purchase again in the future.

My 2005 Mazda Tribute 2.7L V-6 5 Door right rear shock mount separated from the vehicle body. Basically the inner right rear wheel well arch house is rotting out from corrosion and the shock mount is unstable and detached from body. Since this is not uncommon, Im surprised there is not a recall on this between Ford Escape and Mazda Tributes. I also have an intermittent gear shift selector problem as in at most inopportune time the transmission will not allow you to shift out of park. Very frustrating, cannot pinpoint cause.

My daughter brought her Mazda Tribute 2002 in for the 6712A Recall, which is something to do with the ABS Braking system. The dealer that did the work was very nice and courteous. She lives in North Dakota and had the work done in North Dakota. She was not having any trouble with the ABS braking system but thought she should have it done for safety reason per the notification she received in the mail. After the work was done, she drove away and a little ways down the road her ABS Light came on. So, she turned around and went back to the dealer that did the work. They checked it over and could not find why the light is coming on. She explained that the light has not coming on before and now after the recall, that is coming on and staying on. The dealer said that she was going to have to pay to do the diagnostic testing any further in order to fix it. They sent my daughter away with a questionable proper working braking system because Mazda didn’t want to pay for a recall procedure that more than likely is the cause of the problem. My daughter went home, parked the vehicle and called the Mazda Headquarters the next day (1-800-222-5500). “I recommend everyone that reads this, call and complain about the response I receive about this situation”. They said exactly the same thing; she would have to pay for any further diagnostic testing to find out the problem. At that point I called to hopefully clarify the ethical thing to do and for the important customer service we all hope to receive in any situation like this. I tried to emphasize to them the level of awareness to the liability issues in sending someone you love dearly home, with possible braking issues. But they stuck with their resolution that she needs to pay to fix it. Never mind the safety for their customers. They said that I may not have anything to do with the recall! Maybe it was just coincidental that the light came on now. They said that if the report comes back that it was caused by the recall they would reimburse her for the correction/diagnostics. Why would she have to pay first for something that was never wrong at the beginning? I told them to put it all back in the way it was. Mazda said they can’t do that due to Liability reasons. Wow! Go Figure. My point is that it’s not the money issue with this, it is the ethics and I would like to see some real customer support in something nowadays.

Recently, I had an issue with my vehicle when it wouldnt start. I had my car towed to my mechanic in Indialantic. He ran the diagnostic test on my car and found out that the ECM computer system had failed, and also fried 6 of my coils. My mechanic had given me a quote of $1,400 for repairs. In the meantime, I was calling around to see if I could find an ECM for a cheaper price. I came across an EPA federal warranty that stated: Any vehicle with less than 80,000 miles and less than 8 yrs. old is entitled to this EPA warranty on any specified major emission control components. The warranty states that all components are covered and the manufacturer will have to repair the components free of charge. I brought the warranty over to my mechanic to look it over. He stated that he would call Mazda and find out if they will honor this federal warranty. My mechanic spoke with a gentleman named Robert **. He approved the use of the warranty and told the mechanic to have us bring the vehicle over to Mazda. The next day, I paid to have the car towed to Mazda. Robert ** stated that he would call me before he started to give me a price on the repairs. When he called later that afternoon, he gave me a quote of $1,700. This was $300 more than my mechanic. He then called back again and stated that he would drop the cost to $1,345. It is costing me the same price with the warranty as it would have at my mechanics garage, without the warranty. I also had to pay to have the car towed to Mazda. I only brought it over to Mazda because the gentlemen stated he would honor the warranty, and he is charging me more. I feel belittled and taken advantage of.

My 2001 Mazda Millenia broke my heart and my bank. I bought it from Duncan Auto in Key West. It was lovely and it still is, but the engine is useless. The hold light went on and the transmission began to burn. When I called Duncan, the dealer where I had purchased, they said that their mechanics wouldnt touch it. I tried some more local mechanics who had their way with the car and charged me heavy but still the problem persisted. The car could not be driven over 25 mph and I couldnt go anywhere without the transmission burning up. Finally, at my expense, I had it towed to a Mazda dealer in Miami. They said that it needed a new transmission at a cost of $6000.00. The car cost me most of my savings ($17,000.00) which was a lot of money for me and was the first nice thing I ever bought myself and it lasted only two years. This cleaned me out and I cant afford another car at this time. The car still sits in front of my house and forever a painful reminder. Do your research people and buyer beware. I have a 2010 Mazda 5 with 23,200 miles which I owned for just under two years. I had a rear tire blow and brought the vehicle to the dealership. The tire was worn on the shoulder down to the steel belt but the rest of the tread was fine. The dealer contacted Mazda but because I could not prove that I rotated the tires (I do them myself and I check tire pressure bi-weekly) and because I did not have an alignment done at 12 months/12,000 miles I was not covered under warranty. This is completely unacceptable for a car that is less than two years old to have that kind of tire wear. I took the car in for an alignment to a third party and was told that both rear cambers are out of spec but they cannot be adjusted once they leave the factory. I believe I purchased a defective vehicle but Mazda will not replace it and it appears there is no fix to prevent it from happening again. The cost of the alignment and four tires was $582.

Mazda CX5 2016 Transmission Failure at 57,500 miles. How do I create a class action lawsuit against Mazda for a transmission defect that the manufacturer supposedly knew at the time of assembly? I bought the car new. After 30 months, the transmission failed. I had to dump the car after the repair, at a loss. On the positive, the body style was great, handling superior, interior lay out convenient, poor quality interior craftsmanship on seats, but to have the transmission crap out was a real bummer.

I leased CX-3 for 3 years from Mazda. When I returned it, I thought my car looked pretty well maintained except the curb rash on the wheels. I was wrong. The wear and tear charges were more than $1000 dollars because they charge for every little thing you did not even notice when you had your car plus on damages that Mazda should be responsible for. For example, if you drive in rain or wash your car, there will be water damage in the headlight that is going to cost you $350 for EACH headlight. The receipt is the final list after I made them remove a few things. I am leasing a car from Mercedes too, and they are not charging me for every tiny scratch like Mazda did. So if you lease a car from Mazda, make sure you fix everything including tiny tiny scratches and damages caused by their poor assembly.

I purchased my vehicle 2 years ago and just recently got to 20,00 miles and had to have the rear disc brake pads replaced because they barely passed inspection. I called the customer service number and they said they would gladly replace them free of charge if I went back to the dealer immediately that day to get it done. I then learned that this is a flaw that some of the CX-5s have including the current models. I leased my vehicle so I will be returning it before the 40,000 miles when it will probably need them again. It is expensive to replace them every 20,000 miles when they should last at LEAST 40,000 miles. If I owned this vehicle who would have to keep replacing them when they wear sooner than they should, ME!!! That is an expense I can not afford.I also have an issue that when you open the back hatch there is not enough light to see what you are doing. I like the way the car handles in the snow, which is why I leased it to begin with, to see how well it did. I like the car and would love to buy another when my lease is up but I dont know if I will because of the expense of replacing the discs every 20,000 miles.

CX5 with 105,000 miles. Started car, backed out of garage, proceeded to drive away and a loud noise just before the car died. Ended up pushing the car back to the house and into the garage. Spent a few hours looking over everything and could not find the source of the problem. Checked the oil and it was fine. Checked fuses, all were good. Checked starter and alternator, all good. The next day I looked under the passenger side of the vehicle and notice two drops of oil on the garage floor. Checked oil again and it was up to level. Followed a small trail of oil pooling on the dust cover (under the engine) and saw two jagged holes in the engine block just above the oil filter. I wish I could post pictures of the holes and block pieces. The engine block wall is VERY thin and not what you would expect. Mazda really went cheap on manufacturing these SkyActiv blocks! The car belongs to my wife and is out of warranty range so with $13k left owed on it, were screwed. One more thing to add is Mazda had already replaced the defective automatic transmission at 80,000 miles.

It has been good so far. It is good on gas and seems to be mostly reliable. Has a pretty big trunk for a little car. Runs pretty good. It is great for me and my daughter but has a good size back seat if we want to take others with us. It has some updated technology so that is nice, I can connect my phone and it is really easy to drive. It was the car I was able to get approved for so that is what I bought. However, the headlights have to be turned on and off manually, my old car had running lights so I didnt have to worry about the lights all the time. It is pretty low to the ground so it is a big change from an SUV.

When I came out I found out that the BSM (blind spot monitor) stop working. So I took the car to the dealer and they found out a very tiny scratch, an inch long. It wasnt a dent, not even damage the paint. But they said that this damage the computer, and they send me to their Mazda collision shop and want to charge me 1,500$ plus a new computer. I love how I just need the key fob in my pocket/purse and can lock/unlock with one touch and a key is not needed to be placed in ignition. It is very dependable. It is also very comfortable and fun to drive. I chose this for the third row seat to upgrade from the CX-7 I owned. I like the leather seats, sunroof, rear view camera, keyless entry and driving and fold down third row seat. Well, guess what? That vibration that they supposedly fixed (with used parts - that I did not authorize) - still rears it head every now and then. I got stuck with the car and they had to change the valve body - on a brand new car that had roughly 3000 miles on it (yes, that is 3 thousand miles) and ever since I have a hard downshift that although the tech tells me he feels, the dealership repair center tells me is normal - this is of course after I returned it because of the hard downshift and the Rep told me that the computer needed to relearn my driving habits. Almost 1000 miles later, it is still doing it.NOW for the new problems. Yesterday I went to shift out of park and the transmission did not shift. 3 times I tried, finally it shifted. This morning I went to start my car via remote and I kept getting a P code on the fob. Book says its because the car was not in PARK. (Um yeah okay - car was parked in the driveway since 6pm the night before... and shut off). Cant wait for the BS they tell me now... Do yourself a favor. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MAZDA. My car started hesitating for a couple of weeks. After my car was diagnosed and serviced for the alternator and wiring, another problem was diagnosed, a leak under the intake manifold (PCV hose). After the tuned of $1400 plus paid out, I drove it off the lot and the engine light came on. I turned around and brought it back. On 10/19/11, they kept the car. The next day the tech advised me that he drove it for 10 miles and nothing happened. My car remained with them again. They cleaned the connectors and tested the solonoid valve and they said it was okay. I picked it up on 10/20/11 and the same thing happened. They kept it. I picked it up the next day. On 10/21/11, again the light came on after leaving. I went home and called them. The tech stated it would cost me another $400.00 plus. What? I stated they should fix it because the engine light was not the problem. I brought it in for the alternator and wiring. What happened with my engine light? I took the car and went to work. There was no light on and then, the light was on, etc. Oh and by the way, they stated to me the valve with an open and shut flap could stay open or closed and I should not worry. They were lax in that statement. Do they not understand its my engine light? I have had my Mazda 6 for 5 1/2 years and never had a complaint regarding maintenance and repairs from the Mazda dealer before. What is going on? Or, is it just the Mazda dealers in Lodi, New Jersey? OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal. Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car. Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.

I take very good care of our CX-7 and with only 70,000 miles the turbo and catalytic converter went. We were driving and a loud siren sound came from the engine. We had to limp to a shop and were told the turbo and the catalytic converter were shot. This cost us $3,600. Before being fixed I contacted the local Mazda dealer who told me that these cars are notorious for failed turbos. In fact he said it was so bad that Mazda put out a special warranty to cover these turbos. They all fail around 60-70,000 miles. Turns out, my VIN number did not match the ones that were a part of this special warranty. I asked the service manager, Is there anything you can do for me? He replied, sarcastically, We can replace your turbo for you.I have owned three Mazdas. Every one had problems. The one thing I have found though that all Mazdas share are very bad brakes. They are always very weak. This CX-7 with 70,000 also has bad brakes. I am replacing the front rotors for the SECOND time, with only 70,000 miles. I have replaced the pads probably 5 times and I do not drive fast or slam them. My son and I are very meticulous about changing the oil and the brake pads. Maintenance like we do should help a car last. Unfortunately Mazdas are very cheap, low-end Japanese cars and I guess it doesnt matter what you do, they just fall apart.

The Mazda CX 5 is a great looking SUV. The after sales service sucks. I have determined that the Electronic Park Brake is a design flaw. This must be the only front wheel drive vehicle that wears out its rear brake pads and tyres before the front. Mazda with TSB 004-05/15 replaces the brake calipers when the actual problem is the sensor which controls the EPB. Like a person who hates constructive critique. I am not surprised that they are suffering in the market.

Purchased a new Mazda speed 6. At approximately 44K miles, the engine blew (for lack of mechanical terms) at a repair cost of $8,600 not under warranty by 60 days but still under mileage (oh well). Was then told that new engine, turbo, etc. Would now be covered to an additional 100K miles. Now one year later, the car has a check engine light on. Took it to Mazda. They said it maybe a valve and would be $1200 to repair that. Somehow apparently not covered by the new warranty. On top of that, I had to pay $130 for the diagnostic that only gave a maybe result (apparently again not covered). Please contact me if there is going to be a class action suit against Mazda as it seems this happens a lot.

Hi - My 2010 CX7 with full Mazda service history and only 57600 miles on the clock, stopped at 60 MPH on a busy dual carriage way with my kids in the car, I could barely steer or brake it was terrifying! Luckily we managed to come to a stop only because it was a quiet time of day on school holidays or god knows what could have happened. I called Mazda to advise them as I thought they would want to know about the issue, total stone wall.I had the car towed to a garage nearby who told me the engine had seized due to it being starved of oil, the car was FULL of oil. They checked and it was a block in the sump. After doing research I realise this is a very common problem with Mazda and I cannot believe they are totally ignoring this issue, not help offered. My car was worth #7.5k now its worth nothing! Where is Mazdas duty of car to customer driving this car, why are they not making sure dealerships are checking this issue to protect people at service, what will it take, someone to be killed! I am just disgusted at their refusal to acknowledge this issue.

I have a 2002 Mazda Protege. I purchased it used in 2008 and about a year ago, the finish on the hood, roof, and trunk started to peel off. I can see that it is starting to pit and rust. The car looks like a piece of junk. I see other Proteges, same year, and the paint is fine. I paid around $8,500 for the car and other than that, I love the car. I previously owned a Mazda and this never happened to it.I want to know if there is any compensation I can receive for this defect of the paint. I know this should not be happening to a car thats 10 years old. Help! In anticipation of a response, thank you for your time and attention.

To all owner of Mazda 2007-2013 Grand touring model. This car has around 62 K miles on it and solely serviced at Peterson Mazda dealer which I bought the car from, in Huntington Beach, California. About a month or so the car was serviced as scheduled and the inspection revealed nothing out of the ordinary. I was informed that eventually, I have to change the brake pads within 6 months or so. There was about 1/3 left on them. Without any warning of any kind, the brakes quit working and the car was not driveable. I thank God that my kids were not with me. The only way I came to a full stop was to downgrade to the 1st gear and apply the emergency brake. I recall I was on the freeway and the car had to be towed to my place. I replaced the disks, put new pads front and rear and the car still was not breaking. I took the car back to the dealer thinking that the master cylinder was defective and need replacing and I was ready to bit my tongue and pay for it since my warranty just expired at 60K. To my surprise I was told that there is a factory recall on the brake boosters and the replacement is free. I was outraged by the fact that we were not informed of this potentially dangerous issue, and I was told that it is on the need to know or repair basis and that the dealer is not liable since Mazda would not reimburse the cost of the repair, which averages $400 or so. Thanks a lot, Mazda. It is almost as bad as the exploding gas tank from the Ford Pinto back in the days. Do yourself a favor call your dealer and let them know about those boosters. Your life is at risk. For the record, I rarely write reviews but this time I felt obligated to inform the public about the shady dishonest behavior that Mazda is conducting and my life and kids life is worth more than your pathetic $400. Signed a teacher and very unhappy customer.

We own a 2007 Mazda 6 and today, we again had to have the bulbs replaced one high beam and one low beam. Since we have owned this car, we have replaced the bulbs at least six times. We have discussed this with the Mazda dealer and he says that no one else has complained about the lights. We are not happy with the lights. Today, it cost us $128.81 to replace the bulbs. This is ridiculous. We have had other Mazda products and have been very happy. Please deal with this issue. Thank you.

We want more overall leg room, but especially more room for the third row seats. This would help to carry people of all ages and sizes in all of the passenger seats.

I have a blown engine just like that. I am furious. If Mazda has known that this issue randomly happens with its cars, why isnt every single one that suffers from this defect gets replaced? I would like to warn you people out there about this dealership, seems to be a common theme with Mazda. This link verifies that the entire Mazda corporation has a systemic problem with accountability and safety measures. A dealership that sells a vehicle to a senior citizen with dementia is an all time low, unless youre Midway Mazda which seems to be acceptable. You can get this information from the MVSA BC complaints and cases against this particular dealership under the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA). Actually you can see it online as well, because it did go to court.Furthermore, they have had at least 9 abandoned cases all in a row, dating back to 2008 courtesy of the MVSA (Motor Vehicle Sales Authority which is Non-Profit, meaning donations and taxpayer funded) in which the MVSA manager indicates they lost those files, updating the computer system. MVSA is no better than the slum dealership it represents. They talk their way out of any type of action. If youre thinking about filing a complaint against Mazda through MVSA, make sure you read the policies and know your rights. Funny thing is that the MVSA Manager didnt even know what his own policies were, and when I told him, he was in disbelief and denial. If its in writing then its legal, talk is cheap. I waited over 9 months just to get a meeting, because they kept blowing me off, and didnt even bother to tell me why? This dealership falsified the inspection reports and would not take care of any issues brought up that were safety hazards, or even non-safety issues that cost me money out of my pocket. Its simple, downright neglectful and deceitful. The entire process from start to end was absolutely ridiculous from non-service to the product. I have been dealing with this issue for just about 2 years. I have wrote reviews, and sent letters to every organization and governing body under the sun. I have all the proof in the world, and civil court is the only way to go now. I would think twice about this dealership and I will make sure everyone knows about it too. I also would not buy from the Nissan next to this dealership as it is the same owner. Make yourselves accountable, instead of hiding behind poor policy, excuses and lies, because in the end it will hit your wallet! Disappointed taxpayer/owner of a Mazda.

A week ago I unlocked my car and opened the door to a very loud sound that was like a jackhammer or machine gun. I was alarmed, had no idea what was going on, and finally figured out it was the car stereo. I drove the car to my local mechanic, enduring horribly loud and unabated noise the whole way, and they confirmed it was the stereo. My mechanic told me to take it to Mazda, which I did. Mazda charged me $100 to take a look at the stereo, then told me it had an internal failure and would cost ME $1,050 to replace the stereo and another $150 to install it. I was appalled. My cars warranty was for three years and I have had it for three years and nine months. My problem. Not theirs. I called Mazda USA and they agreed. They added that because of my high miles they wouldnt consider chipping in to replace the stereo. Since when did miles have any wear and tear on a STEREO! Very tacky on Mazdas part. I have loved my car otherwise and would have definitely have purchased another of the same model soon. Now I will never buy another Mazda. Their behavior is scandalous.

That is when my Air Conditioning clutch froze up (of course after the warranty ends) on the Air Conditioning Compressor and now it blows HOT air. Mazda wants $1,200 to replace it, so I spoke to Morgan at Mazda about this problem, thinking Mazda would stand behind it considering the small amount my AC unit was used. The thing is I live in the Mountains in NC and really did not use the Air Conditioning very much. I bet that AC unit has only been used 10% of the time... Plus, I have purchased 2 brand NEW Mazdas in the last 5 years. Mazda still refused to stand behind their product and cover this under warranty... I am done with Mazda. I will never buy another Mazda again and I am going to warn everyone I can about Mazda poor service after the sale. What a horrible way to treat your loyal Customers. Something similar happened to my Father and Dodge stood behind their AC unit even after the Warranty expired... Now my Father will only buy a Dodge. Mazda just does not get it. Mazda just lost an entire family and friends of future Customers. NEVER AGAIN...

Everything takes it 20sec! 20sec to check the card, 20sec to fetch its version, 20sec to check the cloud version. Are they totally disconnected from modern applications? Do they know that google react to keystrokes as we type them?? 2. They could also show the current version and expected date of the new version to save the pain of using this application in the first place.3. They could send emails informing of a new release (they maintain accounts on the cloud with our emails). And yes you guessed it right to go to the cloud account and check something it is another 10 or 20 minutes per cloud interaction!

Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda dealership in Peterborough Ont. I replaced a part on my car last winter after it fell off due to hitting a snow bank. A month or so later, the same part fell off my car for no reason. I did not hit anything. I took my car back to Mazda to have it replaced. After they looked at my car they then proceeded to tell that I owed them $30 or more because they looked at it and cut the piece off that had fallen off. They then gave me a quote for a new bumper and the piece that I had already replaced once. Which was over $1000. I refused to pay for a piece which I just replaced and told them I could not afford a new bumper. The lady at the service desk then told me that it looked like I had hit something with my bumper and thats why the piece had fallen off. I was insulted at the fact that she was trying to put blame on me when I had done nothing. The next day my father called and explained the situation to the manager and they then said that they would replace the part free of charge and for me to contact them to arrange an appointment. I gladly called them back and told them to order the part and that I needed to speak about finances with my dad about getting a new bumper, and that I would call them back. I called them back and set up an appointment to get the piece put on, but a few things came up and I wasnt able to go to the dealership. I cancelled the appointment, and the next thing I know Im receiving phone calls from blocked phone numbers that I have a new bumper waiting for me at the dealership and I need to come in and get it put on since I ordered it. They have called me numerous times and left what I would call rude messages on my cell phone an my home number. I called them three times on did not get an answer at the service desk. They have now informed me that they will be sending my bill to collections if I do not get the bumper put on. I refuse to pay for something that I did not order, and especially how Ive been treated. This is my first experience with buying a Mazda and dealing with them and I will never buy a Mazda again due to the experience. Im a good customer, I pay my bills, and never wanted this to go to this extent. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5. It has issue with the shifter, which affects the vehicle sensors. This results, in the vehicle sometimes not moving forward whenever it is put into drive. The vehicle instead rolls backwards and it is a safety issue. It also continuously has issue turning off when the vehicle is put into park. They performed service on my vehicle and charged me to change the shifter, which was a faulty shifter that came with the vehicle. I am still having issues to turn the vehicle off and it also continuously drains the battery. The vehicle has safety issues and there are multiple complaints of the issue. Mazda refuses to do a recall. Mazda also refuses to provide its customers with detail report of the safety issues. I bought my CX7 new in September 2007. I love the vehicle except for its very poor reliability. It has cost me in excess of $2000 a year to maintain this vehicle. Most parts that fail are notorious for failing but Mazda either wont cover the cost or their extended warranty is so meager it doesnt apply to my vehicle because of the mileage e.g. AC compressor; Oxy Sensor. I just discovered that my engine bay high pressure fuel pump is not working properly. I replaced the one in fuel tank 8 months ago and if it fails, it can wreck the engine. Mazda wants $1400 for the part! A better quality aftermarket part is available for less than half this price. Also, the Oxygen sensor on the Cat Converter has to be replaced at huge cost. I replaced the other one eight months ago. Together my current repair bill will be about $2000 including labor. You can find lots of stories just like mine on the internet (e.g. Edmunds).

Yes, my wife and I have gone through five Mazdas in the course of fifteen years. We used to purchase European cars exclusively, but have since jumped off that ship! Quality control issues abounded with our European luxury cars. Anyhow, this is a Mazda review. First off, let me just say that people are most adamant about getting their voices heard when they are upset; it is human nature to complain. However, it isnt often that we will write home about positive experiences unless they were truly out of the ordinary. On that note, this has been my experience with Mazda in the past fifteen years. My wife and I purchased our 2001 Protege MP3 brand spanking new, off the lot, in late 2000 after our BMW 325s engine failed completely. We had the MP3 for about five years and clocked in 260,000 miles. In that amount of time, the trunk started to retain water after 50,000 miles. What did we do? We removed the plugs in the trunk to let water out; PROBLEM SOLVED. At around 100,000 miles, a clunk started to appear in the rear end of our MP3. As it turns out, the bushings were bad on the rear sway bar. We upgraded to polyurethane and problem was solved. At around 160,000 miles, the rubber intake hose developed a crack so we installed a cold air intake. PROBLEM SOLVED. In 2005, we were t-boned when a motorist failed to stop. Our poor yellow MP3 was totaled; it went to automotive heaven and was dearly missed. Overall experience with the MP3: smiles every time we drove the car. The MP3 did not have the best fit and finish, had a harder sport-tuned suspension, and had more road noise, but we felt so connected to the car each time we drove it. We decided to purchase a brand new 2006 Mazda6 S (V6 manual) off the lot after the death of the MP3. We loved the little 6, which was roomier than the MP3 and much more upscale. The double wishbone suspension made U-turns a hassle, but boy was it fun to take around twisties. In 2009, we decided to purchase another vehicle so we opted for the 2009 Mazda6 GT, which- unfortunately - was only offered in an automatic. The 2009 was certainly more of a blast in a straight line (much more hp than the 2006) but was somehow lacking in overall driving connection. Additionally, Mazdas decision to switch to MacPherson struts somehow made the car feel more tame. After clocking in 89,000 miles on the 2009 MZ6 we traded it in for a used 2007 Mazda5 (only 12,000 miles and a manual transmission! ) in the summer of 2012 because our family grew to a size of four (two more kids) overall. In the fall of 2013, the Mazda5s thermostat went out, so that was a $40 fix and 30 minutes of my life taken away. Afterwards, the throttle body on the MZ5 gave out on us in 2014 at 95,000 miles. It was a $180 purchase for a new OEM TB, plus $15 for new coolant and 20 minutes of my life. It was around this time that we decided to purchase a ‘14 Mazda3 Sport (manual) in February 2014 because my wife and I absolutely fell in love with the cars aesthetic. We drove the car out the lot at $21,500 with huge smiles on our faces. It is now February 2015 and we still have our 2006 Mazda6 S (128,300 miles), 2007 Mazda5 S (112,200 miles), and 2014 Mazda3 S (3,111 miles). In the years that we have owned the 06 Mazda6, we have only had to change the oil, brakes, tires, and coolant. NOTHING MECHANICAL BROKE DOWN. As for the Mazda5, the biggest issues were only the thermostat and throttle body, which set us back less than $300. The 14 Mazda3 is still too new, but no issues have arisen yet.Overall, our collective experiences with our Mazdas have been very pleasant. We conducted extensive reviews before our purchases and we had realistic expectations of Mazdas flaws in their cars (bumpy suspension, increased road noise, etc), so not once did we feel cheated by Mazda (or anyone else for that matter.) However, for every day that we drive our cars, we love the experience. Sure, they arent Porsches or Ferraris, but for the money, they were certainly a pleasure to drive. Plus, can you fit five people and 30 cubic feet of cargo in a Ferrari? I think not. This has been our experience with Mazda. Who knows, we might be outliers in Mazdas brand quality? We intend on getting the ND Miata soon as well. I hope this review was helpful.

2012 Mazda 3 6 speed with Skyactiv Transmission problems - This car had 180 miles on it when I got it; it now has 2000. From day one, I have experienced problems shifting into 1st gear, where it just plain and simple will not go into gear. This happens whether the car is cold or warm. Also on 2nd gear and reverse. It sticks in almost every gear. It clunks loudly when putting the car into 1st gear initially and when going from 1st to 2nd. It also accelerates on its own when I am both shifting up and shifting down. I have almost hit someone at a stop light and while sitting in stop and go traffic because of this issue. It happens every day, intermittently. I feel very unsafe driving it. Mazda has said that they will contact the dealership and speak to them, because the dealership will not confirm nor deny that these things shouldn’t be happening, which is weird seeing as the car is brand new and no brand new car should ever refuse to go into gear nor drive on its own. I had a 2004 before this with zero problems and I regret buying up. I am very unhappy and in danger.

This Mazda CX-5 had replaced one that I really enjoyed. But it does fulfill my needs but its not the type of car I would normally pick out. I like the fact that is all wheel drive. I like the pep in the engine and the gas mileage. I do like the fact that every Mazda has a GPS in it and I like the heated seats. I bought a 1998 626 LX 4 Cylinder with 76,000, and as I was driving off the lot, the fuel pump went out. Luckily, the dealer replaced it at no cost even though I bought as is, but then 3 days later it went bad again. Two months later, the alternator belt snapped and to replace, you have to remove the wheel well and loosen the alternator to get on. It took about 6 hours only to have it snap again after 50 miles. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the belt again, but over torque the tension rod so now every about 1500 miles, I have to tighten it up or it loosens, squeals and smokes, and chunks of the belt come out. The transmission slips and shifts hard frequently. And now the coolant system is leaking and while I was attempting to isolate the leak, the window popped out of its roller. I understand every car has its problems, but I’ve only had this junk heap for a few years and am blown away by the frequency of problems. It would seem that all post Ford buyout Mazdas are lemons and I recommend avoiding them.

I couldnt even use it since the wheel was all bent.To make this easy, I had to pay to get the pump replaced and one year later, I have the same problem in the traffic and couldnt even get it to work again. I took my car back to a different Mazda dealer, but I was told that my pump looks great and if it happens again, they will look for a different problem. But I might have to pay again for a new pump! What a joke! I just hope I wont have an accident before someone from Mazda do something! And to top it all, Mazda had recalls on this problem and they told me it is safe to drive like this! Im waiting for a response soon!

First, I would like to say I have been satisfied with my Mazda product. I have had my car now for 12 years and have had virtually no issues other than normal maintenance. However, my car has had several recalls, one of which came after I had already had and paid for the repair. That is where I have my problem with Mazda. The recall stated it takes 6-8 weeks to process a claim on repairs that have been recalled, o.k., I get it. I sent my recall reimbursement form and supporting documents registered mail, which was a smart move on my part, because they first tried to claim that they did not receive my recall repayment request. I told them that a representative had signed for the registered mail 4 days after I sent it. So they requested. I fax the form and supporting documents. I waited approximately 4 weeks to see what the status on my refund was. Mazda Recall Center told me they cant send a check because the repair was made with a credit payment (it was a debit card that was used for the payment on an account I had already closed). So they told me after a week later, when I called again, that they would have to get an approval to send a check. I waited 2 more weeks, called and was told that the check should be on the way 2-3 weeks. I waited 3 weeks to call back, and have now been told that it will take another 2-3 weeks to get the reimbursement. I feel as the Mazda is Hemming and Hawing with this issue for whatever reason and would like to know if anyone else has been having this type of issue with Mazda.

This is the nicest car I have ever driven. It now has 40,000 kms. and is running perfectly. BUT: when I first purchased the car I said that the brake and gas pedals seemed to be too close together and my shoe caught the bottom of the brake pedal when I tried to move from the gas to the brake. Did not think this was a major problem until we were sitting in the fast food takeout line and the car started to inch forward while I was stepping on the brake. I stepped down harder and the car revved up and lurched forward hitting the car in front of us. My shoe which was stepping on the brake was also touching the gas so the harder I stepped on the brake, the more I stepped on the gas also. While there was hardly any damage to both cars (some bumper damage to car in front about $600.) IF A CHILD HAD BEEN BETWEEN THE CARS, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED. This is an issue that should be addressed by the designers before someone is injured or killed. This problem is not unique to Mazda, other car manufacturers like Toyota, Ford, Mini Cooper all have the same problem. I also have a Suzuki, and this is not a issue with it, as there is about 3 inches space between the pedals. Is it possible that because Asian designers tend to design cars for people with smaller feet, that they do not consider that North Americans are generally bigger and therefore would wear larger footwear which may cause a problem in a confined space? I am going to have the brake pedal removed, cut, and rewelded so that the pedal is about 3 inches more to the left. This will fix the problem I have, and perhaps it will save a future accident that may be worse than the one I just had. Anyone else have an insights on this issue?

When we were shopping for a new vehicle we wanted something that could carry six or more passengers. We had purchased a used car for our daughter from a local dealer. It was a good car that we were all happy with. We went in in August and the salesman just got in the new CX9 signature edition (2016). It was a great looking SUV with great technology and a fine trim level that included leather and wood trim. Complete the deal was 45,800 out the door. Considering the trim level and options that was a fair price. After one year we made the choice to lower our payments and down size to a less expensive car. The CX9 with 10,500 miles. The Trade in value of 31000 dollars. A loss of 33% of the value in one year. Stay away from any Mazda. Any car that loses that much value in one year should be taken off the market. I will never buy another Mazda in my lifetime.

I bought my 2015 Mazda CX-5 from Fox Mazda in Grand Rapids, MI in February of 2018. At the time it had 31,000 miles on it. Last week, I went to start my cart and the engine started and then sputtered and died. After getting a tow, the Mazda dealership in WI (where I now live) has informed me that my high-pressure fuel pump has failed. Between the tow, labor, and parts it is going to be over $1,000 to repair an item that should not be breaking on a car with less than 50,000 miles. On top of that, the part is apparently back-ordered and I was told that it could take anywhere from a week to a month for them to get the part in. So now, I am without a car for an indeterminate amount of time as a result of fuel pump failure on a relatively new car with low miles.

I love my car. Living in Michigan, I needed a vehicle that handled well in snow but also with good gas mileage and being able to adjust the drivers seat is very important. After test driving several models, I was extremely impressed with Mazdas handling. I also love how the looks of the car. Its very stylish and its fun to drive. Definitely spend the extra money and get the navigation. I use it all the time. But I wish the rear seats were more comfortable. When test driving cars, I never thought to sit in the back. A word of advice, next time test driving, sit in the back and feel how your passengers are feeling.

My Mother bought a brand new Mazda 626, this was a long time ago. SO long ago, that CNN news was just getting started. My mother was killed in this car while driving home from work, she hit a telephone pole at 45 mph. She was removed from the car and taken to the hospital where she died shortly thereafter. We were stymied as to what happened. No one knew, then we found out, way down the road, through CNN news that the car had a history of the ignition turning itself off if you had a heavy key ring. Of course there were accidents all over the US many fatal, some just injuries, etc. I found this out about this car, about a year or more after the accident. Recently I did a search on this Mazda 626, and I couldnt find a thing about it. Was all information removed about these cars, what happened, has Mazda fixed this problem? I hope so, as a year ago I bought a Mazda 5 which so far, has been a great little car. It took me 28 years to be able to buy a Mazda. BTW, Hasnt GM just spent a lot of time apologizing to its customers for the same problem? Wonder how many people died in the GM cars? Mazda didnt even apologize.

I am disappointed with my Mazda experience. To start off with, I was lied to when I bought my Tribute. The salesperson took advantage of my inexperience and need for a quick sale. I wanted a car with Bluetooth capabilities. There was a phone deckle on one of the buttons so I said good it has Bluetooth. Not once was I corrected even after saying at least five more times that that was a deal breaker. I am on the road a lot and depend on my phone. I was told that I didnt need a 4X4 that the Tribute would make it through any snow and ice and have no problem getting up my sister’s drive because of the weight of the engine, and the space between the wheels was so large. I got stuck in the parking lot at work today. I had to be pulled out, not impressed. My starter went on my Tribute a couple of months ago. It is a 2012 Tribute, and the starter went once again not impressed. And when I got my car back, there was grease all over the hood. When people ask me what I drive, I say a Mazda Tribute and if they ask me if I would recommend it, I say no and would suggest not looking at Mazda. Pretty sad when I am paying a payment beyond my means, and I have to borrow a 4X4 just to go to work to pay for a car that is sitting in my driveway because it wont move in the Alberta weather.

I bought the 2016 CX-5 grand touring with the tech package. I fell in love with how the car drove and had owned a 2013 Mazda CX-5 so I thought that I was just getting an upgrade. Well it was very late by the time we left the dealership and so they just handed me the manual and said the instructions for the navigation system was in there. I didnt need the navigation until about 2 weeks after I purchased it. When I did need it a map of San Antonio river walk kept showing up and I live in Virginia. The clock also does not work or set the time to eastern time. I took it back to the dealership but the service department does not know what is wrong with it and suggested they are going to have to tear it all apart to find the antenna. I am so mad, its beyond words. How can they sell an almost $40,000 car and say it has these features and it has none of it working.

On May 21, 2013, I bought a new Mazda 6 Sedan - full optional, including the Red Soul extra paint. Just few miles away, I noticed 3 spots on the front hood. The paint is extremely thin and it is difficult to see the clear coat with a magnifier lens. I brought the car to the dealer and they said it is normal to get spots because of road sand. I washed the car and one more spot appeared. Because of my firm complaints, I was able to get an appointment with an inspector from Mazda and now Im waiting to see him. My daughters RX-8 has been giving her a lot of trouble, completely dying at times while shes driving. Shes had it to a Mazda garage that told her that she needed new sparks plugs and wires, etc. She herself paid $1,400 to get this fixed (at this time, it was under warranty). The day after she got it home, it did the same exact thing. She took it back to the Mazda garage and then they told her that she needs a new engine, but her warranty had expired a couple days prior to her taking it back in. Now she is due to start her freshman year at college, with an unreliable car unless shed rather use her tuition money for a new engine (I dont think so). Mazda should be embarrassed to allow a young lady to feel unsafe, when she is trying to get an education and better herself. I dont know if there is any other avenue that I can take on this matter and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dealership sucks, vehicle is good! No doubt that I had done my homework. Family I come from ** is Honda lovers and this was first time, I went out and opted for #mazdacanada. Mazda has some great features which Honda was missing and I was forced to cut down ROGUE because 4 cameras were headache and risky than technology developed by #mazda. Honda CRV, I realized is under power engine and whenever you need force/power, you can sense a howling and growling engine. It has overpriced itself and these two were major reason to opt for Mazda CX-5. There is one camera but sensors are used so intelligently that I have to say they made a niche for themselves. As soon as a car is in your blind spot - you dont/should not be looking into camera feeds - in Mazda CX-5, sensors make a yellow light glow in your mirror with a beep indicating that there is vehicle or person in your blind spot. I am over six feet - so entering and exiting is slight... a little bit tight... I have to adjust my posture of entering and exiting from this vehicle. My dealer experience was not as good as I wanted to be - #abbotsfordautomall #automall where #vipmazda is situated, didnt clarify before I reach to finance department that #bumper to bumper warranty is for 3 years only. They try to sell you insurance cover for those extra 2 years. Second bad taste happened, again when I was facing finance department that INSURANCE have to be from the dealer. They informed me that INSURANCE cannot be done from outside brokers or agents! Coming back to vehicle, its comfortable and nice... Ride is good but still cabin is not silent as I was expecting... In total, this is great vehicle which shows innovations and intelligent designing done by Mazda. This is made in Japan and quality of interior is not as bad as we see in Honda CRV. I like the way sensors handles vehicle and its power... when FWD will be changed in AWD is done auto. Thus it saves lot of fuel. I have driven it in fresh snow, black ice and the way vehicle managed traction and control is awesome. Seating is good and boot is comfortable too. I would definitely suggest this vehicle for small family usage - its navigation and sunroof is added features which helps in movement.

I own a Mazda 6 2007 model. I have been very displeased with both quality and reliability of this automobile. The problems I have had: interior roof light fell out, clips on light broke, coil pack shorted, catalytic converter, A/C compressor, rod bearings (ruined engine). My family currently has 5 Hondas, 2 CR-Vs and 3 Civics and all bought new. Together they have over 600,000 miles and other than wear and tear items (tires, brakes, oil filter), have had zero problem. Honda also has excellent customer relationship department at every dealership I go to. Advice to everyone, when driving down the road, notice what brands you see the most (in parking lots, on the road) and go buy from them.

This is about my second consecutive Mazda sedan I have owned. After I was notified of the recent recall of the passenger side inflator on my 2012 Mazda 6 I wanted to also have the drivers side one replaced, at my expense, and when it was later recalled (as it most likely would be), I wanted to be reimbursed for whatever my cost was. I first presented this request to the dealership who told me the cost would be around $700, because they said the inflator part alone could not be replaced. Because I am willing to pay this amount I then contacted Mazda Corporate Customer Experience where I was told Mazda could not promise any reimbursement but would “review” such request. Finally, I contacted two executives at the Corporation with this request. My last request to one of them was made by letter mailed by certified mail. Although the letter mailing was verified received by USPS, it has now been some 3 months and I have not received any reply and I dont expect to. My Opinion: This clearly shows me: MAZDA DOESN’T EVEN CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS TO EVEN RESPOND TO THEM IN THIS SITUATION. This experience has now cemented my decision to never purchase another Mazda again. I probably should not have purchased this one because I had a problem with the moonroof not always closing on the last one that was only fixed because a friend of mine knew someone at Mazda that I was able to connect with who got the problem finally fixed after my having taken the car to the dealership numerous times and told they “had to replicate the problem” before it could be fixed.

My wife and I were in the market for a vehicle the summer of 2011. We had a check from our institution in the back pocket so we went searching. Our search starts with the Toyota Venza (new), and the Infiniti Q35 (pre-owned). We visited approximately 5 dealerships the weekend previous to July 4th, 2011 - a lot of test drives, a lot of negotiations which were close, but not as satisfactory. After not moving the needle as much as we had desired, my wife has an idea to check out the dealership of Mazda in Huntington Beach. We look at the Cx7 & Cx9 (new) and after test driving a few, she decides to look into the Cx7 as she was previously unfamiliar with the vehicle. After mulling options over (blank check was good for up to 40k in financing, 4.1 APR) she decides to purchase the Mazda (24,900). We select a model, which has 13 miles on it - and though others (Venza, Infinity) were her chief desire, she believes that the decision was a good, more economical one. We (she) purchases the vehicle July 4th, 2011.One month in, the front driver tire blows out on the 55 freeway in Costa Mesa. The car is driven to the dealer the next day - to have a tire placed on. The price was surely surprise surprise - $250.00. We push to know why the tire was so expensive, its because the size is new for this size vehicle and theres one maker of the tire. Bridgestone. We pay for it begrudgingly, and go about our way.Fast forward to February 6th, 2015, a shade over 3 years, 6 months of owning the vehicle. The vehicle history is good, maintenance is excellent (my wife is a therapist for children with autism so thats why vehicle choice was extremely important - traveling client to client in administering therapy sessions) and without warning, she cannot reverse. She can drive forward, yet is losing power when the automatic attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear, so it jumps from first to 3rd.We take the vehicle to Browning Mazda in Cerritos and we are advised that the transmission needs to be replaced (3,200). 3 years 6 months 64,262 miles, excellent maintenance history, & this vehicle needs a NEW transmission? This felt like a terrible joke. The power train warranty? 3y/60k. Expired just over 4,000 miles ago. If theres an engine issue, we usually receive a warning (ie - check engine light flashes on when the oil hits around 3,500) - yet for a failed transmission the vehicle took a dump without warning. We contact Mazda (corporate) & are advised later in the day that they would pay half of the ticketed amount. Thats still egregious as there wouldnt be a vehicle sold if most buyers knew that at such ridiculous low mileage, the transmission would fail them. We retrieve the vehicle and have it looked at for two more opinions and apparently there are no codes indicating the transmission is bad, not to mention the fact the transmission itself is indicating itself being bad simply by the test drive. One transmission mechanic wanted to advise us that Mazda contains many Ford parts, including the transmission and the parts itself. He opens a book, shows a Ford Escape transmission cover (as an example to start) & shows the transmission cover for a Mazda Cx7. Same shape. Same size. Same diameter. The only difference was the material each was made out of. He also advised us that Ford held a controlling stake in Mazda for a very long time and that Mazda in engine make up is similar to many Ford vehicles.Im thankful for such insight as now, my wife, shes back to square one. We will just take it on the chin, pay the dealer, trade it in and get into the vehicle she wanted to originally (Toyota Venza) as it has a powertrain of 7y/100k, and we have another blank check and a few we are willing to pay more of a premium for now as opposed to settling (which appears now, that we did).My advice, if you could help it remain in a Toyota (I drive a Lexus and plan to remain with Toyota) or Honda (my wife bought a Civic new in 2001, drove it to 2011 without issue, netting 170k miles before selling to a UCI college student, then purchasing this Mazda vehicle). If my story helps you even a little bit, I am definitely thankful. This experience feels completely underhanded and we feel hoodwinked.

I bought a 2008 Mazda Cx9 two weeks ago. The blower motor went out and I saw several complaint on that because of leaking water from the driver side. Secondly, when I release the break, it makes this hard click and when you change to drive or reverse. The car has 57k miles on it and for the year, that is too many problems. They should make a recall on that blower motor and the water leaking from the a/c. I had a 2000 Tahoe with 172 miles and never had to replace any big things. This would be the last purchase for Mazda and I dont recommend it to anyone. I should have stayed with American made. Spending $20k for an auto that I have to fix two weeks later. What a piece of junk. I would like to let the owner of the Mazda to look at this two complaints. The car had only one owner and I just realized why he returned his car. Also, the motor moves when you press the gas. I dont know if that is normal, but I hope the motor doesnt drop while I am driving. Thank you, I will be waiting for a response.

At approximately 2 years old, my car started tripping the check engine light and AT light. So, I took it to the dealership to have it checked out. It had around 26,000 miles at the time. They cleared the light and said a cable must have been loose or something. Fast forward two months and again, it was the same issue. But this was followed by leaving me stranded. I had it towed and they diagnosed it as low voltage, but werent sure if it was the battery or what. They would not move forward until the battery was replaced and apparently on a brand new car. Mazdas 3-year 36,000-mile warranty means absolutely nothing. Even though I have regular maintenance at the dealership and had it in at 24 months for the light, they would only cover 25% as it was now after 24 months. Batteries have a 12-month warranty before being pro-rated. Keep in mind, once you replace it, the exact same battery has a 3-year warranty. The battery itself even shows 36/60 on the outside. I called North American operations and they blew me off. I asked everyone else up the food chain and nothing happened. They wanted $155 for the battery at the dealership or $100 at Autozone. Ultimately, I had to buy a new battery. Since Mazda covers nothing at twice the price, I bought the one from Autozone which is a 36/8 year warranty. Mazda then proceeded to charge me $55 to put it in. Save yourself time, money, and sanity. Dont buy Mazda. And if you decide to anyway, dont buy from Suburban Mazda in Michigan. I originally bought 2 Mazda 6s from them in 2009 and they will be my last.

Back in January, a pebble hit my windshield on my way to the airport. Needless to say, I had damage the size of a .50 cent piece. I called my insurance company and they use a TPA that replaces windshields for them. It took the company 6 weeks to install my new windshield, because every time the windshield was delivered it was cracked. Just Monday, April 25th, I am driving to work and another pebble hit my windshield. I did not think much of it, until then I saw a spider crack going up my windshield... Not again! Is there a defect with these windshields? Then, it takes 4-6 weeks for a replacement to be installed because Mazda is SO backed up from California and then they arrive broken. I would appreciate Mazda to respond and to fix this issue, as this is a serious defect! It is against the law to drive with a broken windshield. And then be told that there is a 6-8 week back order. One window replacement company told me 3 months... are you kidding me! Mazda - you need to look into a recall!!! If not, you will have class-action on your hands!

Of course, one problem leads to another. The battery then died at the shop. I had to replace it as well. This comes not even a month after the rotors for brakes hit the fan. This has got to be one of the most problematic cars I have seen. A clutch dying in less than 3 years and the worst part is my car was due off its lease next month. I assume this to be a manufacturer defect, and maybe one day they will admit to a faulty clutch. As for customer service, its some of the worst I have ever seen. They review your concerns with an eraser or write with one. Horrible company and car!

This is my first Mazda and I absolutely love it. It took me some time to get use to the break assist feature since it was my first time. But I love the features and the gas mileage is amazing especially because I am a real estate agent and drive about 1500-2000 miles a month

Over the past month both my husband and I have been shopping for a new vehicle. Since we both have very different needs, it has given us the opportunity to visit multiple dealerships including Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Honda, Subaru and Mazda. Driving a variety of vehicles. The Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Honda, Subaru experiences were all pleasant. WITHOUT exception each of the sales people followed up with us with either a thank you email or phone call and WITHOUT exception each of those dealerships offered us water or soda while we were looking at the vehicles - particularly nice given the heat-wave weve been having. Now to the Mazda dealerships. Please note I use the plural. That is because my husband truly was interested in a Mazda 6. We have visited three dealerships in two states and have encountered the same outdated sales practices in all three places. I am not a mathematician but it seems statistically improbable that these practices largely abandoned in the industry would be independently retained by three separate individuals. It seems more likely that the corporation itself still encourages these practices - salespeople accompanying test drives? Sales managers insisting on speaking with you before you leave? Continuing to try and sell you a car youve expressly said you do not want? Frankly, I am doing whatever I can to encourage my husband to buy the Accord Coupe 6 cylinder. I love the car, the salesman has been wonderful to deal with and I dont have to dread what comes next even if we were able to buy the car.

I purchased my 2008 Mazda Tribute brand new. The first year (8 months after purchase), I noticed a sound in my car. I quickly took it to the dealer I purchased my car from. As soon as I pulled up to the dealership, the mechanic told me that it was a belt and was easy to fix at $150. He informed me that a lot of Tributes had been coming in with this issue, but not a big deal. I had it fixed. There were a few minor issues afterwards. Fast forward 2 years later, my car mysteriously would not start. I would have to catch a cab to work. When I called a mechanic to come out to take a look at my Mazda, it started (what!). This went on for about 6 months. I went on a trip to NY and once again it would not start. The dashboard cluster defaulted; cost to fix was $1000. I took it to a certified dealer and while fixing it, they informed me that I also had a transmission leak which would cost me $1500 to fix. At this time, a recall notice had been mailed and I was unaware of this issue. I needed my car being a single mother of 3; I had no choice. Fast forward to present day, 2013, about a week ago, my car started making loud noises. I took it back to the dealer I purchased my car from. Guess what! My transmission has to be replaced cost $3600 (really!) and I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that. Unfortunately, I was one of the millions hit with layoffs; no income. I called Mazda corporate and informed them that I was not aware of the recall notice sent out in 2011. The customer service rep informed me that there wasnt a recall and that I was misinformed. I informed her that I got the information off their website and from the dealership. She was not empathetic to my situation. I understand that my warranty expired. However, I feel that a recall should never expire. If you are aware that a defected part has been placed in your product, you have a responsibility to replace. I paid $17,000 for my car. With all the service issues, Im close to $7000 in repairs and towing fees - almost half the cost of the car. This is not fair to me and others, who work hard all our lives, especially when my car only has 75,000 miles and Im the only owner and now when money is nonexistent to me. Please do not purchase a Mazda. It’s a money pit.

Mazda has a horrible policy. They do not contact users through DMV so if your information for your car is not up to date through a dealership then you will not get notified if theres a recall or repair for your car. So in my situation the extended warranty for the part I had a problem with was 10 years and the 10th year was covid year. I found out there was a warranty replacement but it was too late and they wont own up to the fact that they dont notify everyone that has the car/issue and said its my fault for not taking my car to a dealer to get service? Whats that nonsense?

Back in June of 2015 we purchased a new 2016 Mazda CX5 from Fremont Mazda in Fremont CA. Once we agreed on the price, the car was delivered to us in poor condition, the paint felt like sandpaper (it was not prepped right) and we found cookie crumbs in the cup holder and candy wrappers under the drivers seat. By the time transaction was done it was late (about 9:30PM), but even with the poor outside lighting, we noticed defects in the paint on the hood of the vehicle. The dealer assured us they would take care of it. It was late, and even with all these issues we took the car home, trusting that all would be made right. I could look past the cookie crumbs and the candy wrappers, but in daylight the next day, multiple defects in the paint were very apparent. We took the car back to the dealer, they had a Mazda rep look at it. It was determine that the defects were under the clear coat of the paint, but they were severe enough to do anything about. The dealer offered after some complaining to repaint the hood (could not guarantee it would match) or get us a VISA gift card for $500. As I was pretty fed up with the dealer, we opted for the VISA gift card. It took about 6 weeks and lots of calls, but what finally arrived from Mazda was a Mazda gift card, good for only 1 year, but for Mazda mechanical repairs only. What good is $500 of credit for repairs on a brand new car that has a 3 year warranty? By the way repairs dont include painting the hood. So now I have a car with defects that came from the factory that no one will do anything about. After multiple complaints, the dealer said, Mazda will make the next 2 lease payments to make it up to us, nothing ever happened. Then the dealer said instead we would receive a $500 check from Mazda. That was at least 4 weeks ago, NOTHING!I wish I could say the story ends here, but it got worse quickly. A couple of weeks after buying the car, a piece of gravel hit the windshield and cracked it so badly - the car is not drivable as the crack is along the drivers side of the windshield and quite large. The insurance company authorized a replacement ASAP. This was in early July. Turns out Mazda does not have any replacement windshields anywhere in the US as the model is so new, yet they continue in production somehow. It is now almost 3 MONTHS later and still no windshields available, no date as to when it will be, and no offer of help from the dealer at all.We have made multiple payments on this car since early July, have not been able to drive it and have defects that are permanent in the paint before we even got it home. The dealer not only did not keep the commitment of compensation for the paint, but offered us no help when we found out the back ordered windshield could take months to come in (and it has). We even checked into aftermarket windshields, but were told, they are also not yet available. As a consumer, I believe there is an implied understanding when you buy a new car, that typical replacement parts will be available, clearly not the case with Mazda and the 2016 CX5. We will never look at another Mazda, not because of what happened, but rather because the company and the dealer offered no help. I called Mazda corporate helpline many times. They dont return phone calls and when you do finally get someone, they tell you, you need to be patient, and we value your business, right!

I have a 2009 Mazda 6. I have replaced pretty much all of the bulbs at some point in the 4 years Ive owned this car (headlights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.). In total, I would estimate probably 10-12 times. A few I did have done at Valvoline when I had a quick oil change and they noticed a bulb out. But I have also had it to the dealer several times pleading with them to figure out why the car keeps blowing bulbs. Their answer every time just the bulb and bulbs blow which means I have to pay for it because warranty doesnt cover unless its a defect. Ive owned several other cars both new and old and never had to replace more than 1-2 bulbs in my life. Same goes for every single person I talk about this. Why is it everyone thinks theres something more going on except the dealer? So I dropped it off again this morning and they are already trying to tell me last bulb I replaced was passenger side and this time its driver side, so probably just the bulb again but they will do a diagnostic and my charge will be a minimum of $90 for that. Very dissatisfied with Mazda and the dealer (Jeff Schmidt Mazda in Beavercreek, Ohio). Very poor customer service. Do they really think its okay to have to replace a bulb in your car every 3 months?! I will never own another Mazda or buy a car from this dealer again. I strongly advise anyone reading this to do the same.

CX9 has been horrible from Day 1. Ive had extensive issues with the brakes. My car drives horribly when its cold outside, even 50 degrees. Im constantly pushing on the gas to get it to go. My automatic starter hardly ever works. Ive had scans run, it looked at by several people but no one knows what the issue is. This is my 3rd Mazda and Ive been so disappointed, Im sure it will be my last. I now have the engine light and gas cap light on again and was told it was fuel emissions and to change gas cap. Did that, no change. This car has me terrified Im going to be stranded somewhere with my children.

As indicated in the service record when I got my first oil change, I had 3,000 miles on my 2012 Mazda 5 when I first complained to a Mazda dealer that my car would wobble when going forward into a right turn and in reverse when making a left turn. The service people said they could not recreate the problem as stated on the work order, but it would mysteriously go away for a while when I complained during multiple oil changes. Recently, at 25,000 miles, the service manager at this dealership finally told me my rotors were out of round so they were going to ground them down to make them straight. I requested they be replaced with new rotors but they said no. The dealer who sold me the car with the defective rotors said no and Mazda Headquarters said see the dealer who sold me the car.The dealer I bought the car from said its an issue of wear and he doesnt do warranty work unless hes paid by Mazda. His service mgr. said he didnt feel or see a problem during a test drive after the rotors were filed down so they refused to replace them. If it was an issue of wear, the problem would not have been occurring since I bought the car. Filing down the rotors mostly eliminated the problem, thus indicating the rotors were bad from the start. To make sure the dealer saw information about the wheels wobbling in formal complaints on paperwork from the 3,000- and 25,000-mile oil changes, I filed a complaint with the state. They sent me a notice that the dealer said it was a wear problem and they would check with Mazda Headquarters!!Now Im wondering if the State of Michigan Attorney General has the will to tackle big business. I sent them every piece of information related to the problem and I would like my rotors replaced. Anybody out there have any ideas, similar problems?

I purchased a black 2001 Mazda 626 LX on August 13, 2012. Within one week, the alarm would randomly go off and not stop. We took the car back to Harris Auto Group. They sent the car to Bordentown Auto. The car sat over in their parking lot for 4 days. We kept calling and asking if it was fixed. After all, we are now making payments on this car and do not have access to drive it now for 4 days. The next repair came two weeks later when we started hearing a squealing noise. We brought the car back to Harris for repair. Their mechanic said it was the alternator belt and replaced it the same day. Two weeks later, the car started making noises and going backwards while in drive. I took the car back to Harris Auto Group, and they sent us to A-1 Economy Transmissions for a transmission repair. The car stayed at A-1 for repairs from Monday, 10/1, to Friday, 10/5/12, but it would be under warranty. We would only have to make a $100 deductible payment. Mind you, we are still supposed to continue to make our regular car payments during all of these repairs. We picked up the car on Friday, October 5, 2012. We paid $187.50, our deductible, plus sales tax. On Saturday, October 6, 2012, we decided to ride to Burlington from Bordentown to get some Chinese food. Well, we never made it back home. The car’s alternator belt broke, and the car overheated and shut off. Well, we called Harris Auto Group and asked about a tow and repairs. We were told “Sorry, I can’t authorize a tow.” What the hell? Well, now we have to spend money for a tow back to Bordentown. On Monday, October 8, 2012, I paid $130 for replacement belts only for the mechanic to tell me the water pump is about to go. WTH! What more can go wrong with this stupid car?!

I wanted to add my thoughts on the Mazda 2. At first I was excited about my brand new 63 plate Mazda 2. Having driven it for a couple of months with no problems I was just parking when the brakes stopped working. I pressed the brake pedal but it wouldnt budge. I ended up under a lorry as I was only parking. The damage to me and the car was minimal but I have lost all confidence in the car. I have taken it back to Mazda who have told me after carrying out tests there is nothing wrong with the brakes. I simply do not believe them and I will never drive this car again. I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems??

I own 2009 RX8 purchased brand new that same year. At the time of this review in Nov. 2012, it has only 16K miles. Problems with car not starting began long before; however, I was attributing it to flooded engine. However at 13K miles, seven months ago, it turned out to be faulty transmission range sensor switch inhibitor (part# **). A few days ago while on vacation, the same part failed again and we got stuck some 400 miles away from home. According to dealership mechanic after he spoke with Mazda tech support, this is a known problem; however, Mazda chooses not to address it. This is last the Mazda for me, my family or any of my friends will ever own. And if you want fewer headaches in your life, buy something else.

I bought a new MX on Jan 16, 2016. I already owned a 2004 MX5 that I bought new in 2002. When I bought my new car I asked if I qualified for the $500 loyalty incentive, which they assured me I did. During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 cars current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. Im very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

First off, the Mazda Tribute is not a Mazda, its a Ford!!! Second, nobody will warranty a clutch because well most of you dont know how to drive a standard properly and will just ride them. Ive put 2 clutches in a person’s car because they ride it and dont know how to shift. Third, any turbo engine sucks, no matter who makes it, they all have problems. Fourth, up until 2014, the Mazda 6 was not a real Mazda, once again, built by Ford. Fifth, the recall for the Tribute for the throttle sticking was only on a V6 motor because of the engine cover laying too low from a valve cover stud and causing the cruise control cable to stick under rapid acceleration. Sixth, most of you with bad motors, youre not really doing your oil changes on time, so shut up. Seventh, mismatched or differently worn tires can/will cause damage to transfer cases, transmissions, and rear differentials. Eighth, cars rust especially if you live in an area where salt is used all winter. Ninth, your personal mechanic buddy probably cant describe the difference between 4WD and AWD, he doesnt know everything, he just wants to seem like the good guy so he gets your business. And tenth, if you have a RX8, its not a race car, rev it up before you shut it off to avoid flooding, and DONT MODIFY IT. Hope this sums up all your complaints easy because I got sick of trying to help people with ideas of what may be wrong.

The dashboard on my Mazda 3 was separated from the digital screen. According to their customer service my 2010 vehicle was only covered for 7 years for this and a recall was sent out for this but if you did not have the issue at the time they wouldnt fix it for you. Of course the new engine caused failure of all old parts such as coils, pumps, etc. None of this was covered.
