Months ago we purchased a new Evoque and drove out to Death Valley for the Thanksgiving vacation. Running on the dirt road was very enjoyable till we had a flat tire. Well, flat tire should not be a problem at all since this is a new car and there is spare tire. The real problem happened when we noticed that the wheel has the special lock key bolt, and the car does NOT equipped with the tool to take off that special bolt! And there is no cell phone signal and we could not make a help call! The following time in that day was quite long. We were not able to change the spare tire, had to stay in the desert, waited from morning to afternoon till a car passed by. The gentlemen helped to carry me miles away where we could eventually make the call to road service. The truck finally came in after it was getting complete dark. We were carried to Las Vegas which has the Land Rover dealer. The next day was Thanksgiving so no one work. We had to wait one extra day before the flat tire can be fixed. We finally came back home safely. But the small mistake and the missed tool has given so much trouble and made the vacation such an unpleasant experience. And a complaint sent to the dealer, received no response at all till today...
Range Rover roadside assistance is the worst ever experience I ever had in my life. They were not able to send me tow truck. For four days supervisor dont even pick up the phone or return my calls. Ive been driving Range Rover last five years. Enough is enough.
The car offers DVD, good size video screens, the power is magnificent, for towing anything is the best. It is high-performance and the HSE. It has InControl smartphone app integration and it offers Driver Assistance package, includes a lane-departure warning system and 360-degree parking sensors. It also include standard satellite and HD radio across the lineup. You have to drive it to experience. There is enough room for both the passengers and the luggage you carry. It is suitable for the family, small to large, sitting area gives enough leg room for the tallest, and seats recliner positions good.Mine is the old shape but does not differ from the newer shapes, as the most features are the same, the electronics, the in-car entertainment is the best, and space for luggage. I could upgrade certain features in the car like your motor plan, and the main onboard computer. When you buy it new, you can select own color, size wheels and much more.
Land Rover was awesome. I loved the choices that they had for the public to choose from but I fell in love and picked the white truck that I purchased and even after I picked my truck there were still a ton of other colors and options that I wanted. If I had enough money to afford a second one I would have bought a second. I would pick a white one with peanut butter interior because the last one that I bought had a white exterior and black interior which wasnt really my favorite option for the truck.
With our 4th Range Rover, a 2017 Range Rover Sport, the front spoiler literally blew off the front of our car on a trip. The car having less than 4,000 miles. Contacted the Range Rover Consumer help line, was advised I needed to get an estimate for repairs, and then Range Rover would then decide whether or not they would pay for repairs. I could see where this was headed, and contacted Corporate offices for assistance from a higher level. So far, I have left 2 messages; have not been given the courtesy of a return call from Land Rover North America Corporate. After spending nearly $100,000 for this car, if this is Range Rover and Range Rover Corporates attitude, my advice is to stay away.
Steering vibration, in for repair 3 days ago. I has only done 166 miles awaiting outcome!!!!!! Not a cheap car should be perfect. New buyers beware.
Its a very nice looking vehicle and I love the features it has on it. I wouldnt ask for many extras. Also, its roomy. I really enjoy how comfortable it is and how it rides. Dont have to worry about it being all crammed and can have a great relaxing one. It has all kinds of options and was upgraded to the most and I would love to buy another if I needed one. I really love mine and wouldnt buy any other kind. A very good ride as it is and I would tell everyone to try it and tell them its one of the best out there.
Land Rover LR3 Defective Suspension Compressor - Diagnostics showed original part was redesigned and suggested replacement. Contacted Land Rover. They would not replace as it was out of warranty. I told them it was not a defective part, it was a part they engineered wrong which is why the diagnostic showed that part was to be replaced with updated part. After writing, calling, etc I gave up. So I had to have local repair shop replace as the closest LR dealer was 3.5 hrs away, so 7 hrs round trip, plus two nights hotel as they said they needed 2 days. Local repair shop cost was $1,300.00 using Land Rovers updated part (dealer wanted $1,600). Land Rover does not stand by their product. Yes, vehicle was out of warranty, however, I have since learned that others have had the same problem. When I spoke with their dealer, they stated, yes they have had to replace many of these. So if you buy a Land Rover, and they have a known part that will fail eventually due to their poor engineering, you better hope it fails in warranty period.
I had a 2008 Range Rover L3222 HSE NA 2008. I loved it! At about 54,850 km, I started getting intermittent reduced engine efficiency warnings that began to result in engine not starting and not cracking, only switches on. Check on touch screen display cuts off by it while driving at normal speed. Sometimes, it shows blank screen. Check engine light occasionally would come on as well. I had my mechanic replace Battery and cable assy. For repairs and troubles, I took it to the Land Rover dealer (Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors which cost me S.R. 3,778). Same problem repeating soon after two days from the repair. Now, the Land Rover dealer informed me of steering problem which would cost me around S.R. 18,000 plus. Please advise.
Purchased a Range Rover Sport HSE at the end of February 2018. The vehicle currently has 4,500 miles and has been in for repairs 4 times -- the last was for two plus weeks. The issues are all surrounding the infotainment system -- Audio system, Climate Control, Navigation, etc. The latest upgrade of the firmware(s) and replacement of the main infotainment computer resulted in a completely dead navigation system -- frozen map, no audio NOTHING. My phone pairs, but the call loses audio frequently and is unusable. The dealer has been very good, but this is a major design flaw and cannot be fixed. I have begun the buy-back process and so far the dealership and Land Rover USA seem to be willing to accommodate my demands -- namely I want out of the vehicle without it costing me a single cent -- purchase prices, delivery, taxes, interest paid, extended warranty, etc. We shall see when all of a sudden the just under $80K sticker amounts to a refund closer to $90K. First and definitely the LAST Land Rover/Jaguar product I would ever consider. Unfortunately because aside from that Mrs. ** I love the vehicle style, ride and comfort.
Appearance is nice, leather seats is a plus and is offered in a variety of models. Blue colors are the best or black can be sharp too. Many amenities, safe for families, durable, easy to work on, has great tow packages, many different varieties to choose from. Fairly inexpensive for what you get in a vehicle, fun in the snow, great in all weather, great all around vehicle. All upgrades are available and personalized to fit a persons style and lifestyle as well. Safety upgrades are a must and nice for all families. Although all in all I enjoyed this vehicle, there is not much room in it. Made taking long road trips very uncomfortable for a family of four. Feel like the vehicle is meant and made for smaller than normal people.
Land Rover knows of an issue with the water pump in several Range Rover, Land Rover vehicles. The water pumps are no good. They’ve had to replace many of them. I’m afraid my car has been compromised due to the lack of concern by Land Rover.Elizabeth **
I am an old customer of Land Rover since years and I was really satisfied with the services I got until now. An incident occurred where my car caught fire suddenly and it caused damage to my car. Thankfully, nothing happened to the passengers seated inside it, but the front part was completely damaged. The car is under warranty and has also been given for servicing on time. There was no fault with the car, but the sudden fire did take us all by surprise. Luckily, the door lock worked and the car opened and we could come out and stop the fire. I am a proud customer of Land Rover since years and this is my car of this company. I have a Range Rover sport and two Freelander 2. The car which I am talking about here is Freelander 2, which I had purchased around 2 years back. The matter has been reported to the authorized dealer, but they are little slow I guess. It would be nice if you could contact me through my mobile number or the email address provided by me or you could also give me a contact number where I can talk about this issue. Im having problems without my car and it would be nice of you if you could do it at the earliest possible. Thank you!
Its my second Land Rover since 2006 from LR Encino. The first experience was not bad. This time around its just unbelievable disappointing. My LR4 is handsome, black on black with a nice trim, wheels, etc. I have only had it for 2 years and whenever I take it into the dealership for diagnostic testing and service-they always have a list of issues with the truck, quoting thousands of dollars. For an expensive auto brand at 2 y.o. it is equivalent to an older car that needs a lot of repairs. It completely died recently. Why am I paying premium again just so I can shell out more money unnecessarily? I was sold a pre-paid service package at signing which is a waste of money! The dealer wants me to upgrade the nav system out of pocket, but its a lease! Maintenance is not included in the package, btw. Just not what I expect from Land Rover. Please make quality automobiles like you used to! STOP upselling and cross-selling nonsense!
WHY I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER RANGE ROVER SPORT. I have issue after issue with my problem Range Rover which I purchased new 2.5 years ago and has only traveled 52000 km. Including: Faulty Electronic Dash - This used to go blank so I had to stop the car, turn off, lock the doors so it would reset and the dash would come back on. Gearbox shuddered bad when turning. Electronic park brake lever come out of it socket so didnt work. Been into service department several times for faulty airbags. Rear passenger grab handle on the roof pulled out of the socket. Seems like small issue but could have taken an eye out. This should be a safety recall issue on all Range Rovers. All of the above items have been agreed to be repaired under warranty although the grab handle took several arguments with Land Rover as they said it was a wear issue and is still waiting to be repaired. The carpet has started splitting on the side wall off the drivers side console. Land Rover/Jaguar Australia and Bruce Lynton Southport have said this is wear and tear. The carpet is like brand new with NO WEAR just a TEAR. Land Rover/Jaguar Australia have refused to cover this under warranty. Currently the service symbol comes on when you first start the car. I told Chris from Bruce Lynton about this issue 3 weeks ago but still waiting for a call when they can fit me in. The quality of my Range Rover has been appalling. You would expect when you are paying a lot of money for a luxury car you would get quality but unfortunately not with my Range Rover. Being such a new Range Rover and having So Many Issues I shudder to think what else is going to fail in the future. PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS AS I AM SURE YOU WOULDNT WANT THEM HAVING SAME HEADACHES.
I bought a new Range Rover Evoque in Feb 2015 only done 6000 miles and the parts are failing as if this is a prototype test model and the company does not have the courtesy to replace the car, all they are doing is replacing parts. The car has been with the dealer for 6 weeks from my ownership of 4 months. Parts replaced so far - O2 sensor, ENGINE, couple of modules, brake discs, rear bumper, doing paint job under the hood... Last I heard they are replacing some more parts. After opening an executive case also, they keep assuring me everything will be fixed without even considering a replacement.
I want to know the course of this problem in land rover v8 discovery series 11 (2000 model). When I start the car it will bring black smoking, and consuming the fuel and kill the plugs. What should be the problem sir?
After 3 years of trouble free driving my 2011 Range Rover Sport, 110,000 and the issues started. Everything from water pump to now the cylinder head gasket!!! This is a $12,000 fix. I would have expected this with an average vehicle, not a $75,000 machine that is branded “Above and Beyond”. Would you believe the dealer at Willow Grove PA offered as a trade-in $1,000! My dog is worth more than that. No help also from the Head Office, nice email to say sorry for your inconvenience. Think twice and read the reviews before investing in Range Rover.
Had an accident right front bumper. I think messed up suspension. Happened same time. Broke parking light - damage behind that light caused plastic to touch tire. Crinkled rubber on outside of wheel well. Cost to repair? I love my 2005 LR3!
This is my second Land Rover Sport. My first vehicle was excellent. Unfortunately both the product and the customer service associated with the product have descended to the level of abysmal. In three months of ownership the car has completely shut down 3 times and been towed from various locations. Within 3 days of delivery the car shut down on a major highway. Land Rovers corporate customer service response is comparable to dealing with a public utility or government office. They are rude, confrontational and unhelpful. This is a very expensive vehicle. It looks nice but that is the end of its appeal. Do yourself a favor and buy a real luxury brand or at least a car that actually does things like start. My vehicle has spent almost as much time in their repair garage as it has in my driveway.
The vehicle I chose simply because of how it stands out..its unique beautiful and comfortable. I love how it reflects its owners. It doesnt matter it youre a tycoon with millions or just a simple clerk but if you have a land Rover it puts you in the spot light. If I had the money I definitely would go Land Rover.
Received new Range Rover HSE Diesel on December 26th, 2019. Took it to dealership in February with only 4,000 miles because brakes began to vibrate and thump. Four months later and after speaking to five different people, Ive now been referred to a Regional Manager. I have been consistently told that there are no rotors and brake pads in stock. What? How could this be when they continue to produce new vehicles. The brakes now vibrate so violently that I dont feel safe, but JLR says its not a problem. Additionally, while my RR Diesel was extremely quiet when I purchased it, it began to sound like your typical tractor-trailer about the same time the brakes went bad. The dealer told me there was an additive for diesel engines as this was a known problem for vehicles operating in higher altitudes. I live at 7,000, so I accepted this answer. However, they apparently dont have the additive because this issue is still awaiting resolution as well. My wife also drives a RR HSE, but Id have to say we are done with JLR.
I purchased a 2006 Range Rover HSE with 18,000 miles. I owned the vehicle for one year and that is when my financial nightmare started. The first incident that occurred was with the front differential, which needed to be replaced at 30,000 miles. Three months later, the air suspension needed to be replaced as well. I am lost for words as to why is it that this is a so-called top of the line luxury vehicle. I was suckered into buying this basically junk and ** expensive vehicle, which is costing me and a lot of others nothing but financial burden and headaches. I cannot wait to unload this junk by any means. I will never purchase a Land Rover ever again!
Had 2013 lr4. Looks nice but rough ride, stiff seats, and 230 miles per tank. Brakes last 10,000 miles. I was about to get 3rd set, water pump failed. It always had a check engine light changed to Lexus gx460. Brakes cost 2000.00 set - horrible!!!
The best brands that the car dealership has. They have different models in color and the colors are different from any other brand. It is good for the car. The appearance is good enough to show off to friends and family. The upgrade of this car is better if you only like to pay more for the car and it has better quality in the car. The brand has enough room for a whole family and for friends too.
Ranger rover evoque 2014 - Just got this vehicle few months back. Dealership at Flatiron tried to sell us with extra tags... but thats another story which was the start of the poor customer service. So vehicle was working perfectly until we took it back to the center for some updates they called us for with a letter. We get the car back, door floor lights stopped lighting and after one day car wont start altogether. Wed call the same service center and he tells he doesnt have time and I will have to wait 7 days for them to see the issue. (This is the place we got the car and they did the update.) We called another service center, they were ready to see the car. So now we are responsible to get the car at the service station. Called roadside assistance and they were not able to find a towing company. Spoke with them several times. No use. 3 days I am sitting home with car standing on the side of the road outside my house. No assistance, no spare car offered. Just scared what if I was stuck at on a highway or middle of nowhere. Highly disappointed. Rethinking my decision to buy Land Rover. Really questioning the premier tag on Land Rover... is it true?
Ive owned a Land Rover Velar 2018 less than a month. After 2 weeks of ownership the computer infotainment system failed. I couldnt defrost my window, heat my car, defrost my window for 15 minutes of terrifying-driving. My husband is paralyzed and has a hard time regulating his temperature. This was horrible, as he was shivering all the way home. Just a horrible experience after just spending $67k. Im told by my service adviser that others just pull over, get out, lock the car, and let it sit for 20 mins. Some go shopping, run errands. Then it re-boots. That doesnt work for me if Im driving at night from my moms house where it is more rural, like I was when this happened. I like the car, but will absolutely not pay this price for a car when I only have 500 miles on this car, owned for 2 weeks and caused a horrible experience the first week. Its pretty scary when a lot of your controls are operated by this software where they dont have a fix?We researched the UK forum after this horrific experience and realized this an ongoing issue in the UK. Why wasnt this disclosed to us? Im so upset for spending the money on a car that has been sitting in the service department and they rented me a car that is not comparable at all. Im still paying on this car and put a huge down payment on this car. Very disappointed. I have owned at least 8 Range Rovers with my family and Im so disappointed with this experience. I have definitely contacted RR Corporate.
Dealer service is extremely poor. Terrible customer service, communication and turn times. Corporate is arrogant, like they are doing you a favor. Purchased new at dealer and serviced at dealer. Multiple expensive repairs. Never purchasing another.
I purchased a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharge from Santa Monica Rover on November 26, 2011. 15 days later, on December, the check engine light came on. I took the car in for service at Encino Land Rover, $1,024.69 dollars later, the car was ready and running. On January 4, 2012, again the check engine light came back on again. I took it back to Encino Land Rover again on January 10, 2012, the dealership called and say its the transmission needs replace at a cost of $7,500. there was an extended warranty on this 2006 that ended on the 29th of December 2011. Need to get the repairs done on this car and need to figure out what sort of compensation can be extended.
When I got my Land Rover Discovery, it was used and it wasnt exactly a good looking car but the features were top quality. It drove very smooth. Had a lot of leg room and I believe it would seat about 6 people, from front to back. Land Rover Cars are great cars. You really get a lot of car for the money. Very high quality product but The upkeep on it can be expensive. You dont account for it.
Land Rover offers comfy models that ride good and get you where youre going safely and comfortably. It has really sharp nice lines and groovy interior. Its pretty and has some nice stuff. Its also high tech and has lots to like about it.
Had excessive noise from engine since purchasing this from the dealer in 2014. Several adjustments made but timing chain never replaced. Chain slipped off and 7 cylinders are bent. Engine is a complete write-off. Wonder how much Land Rover will cover the cost. Should be a complete engine replacement given the documented history and regular oil changes. Love the power and finishes on the vehicle. Apparently the timing chain is a known issue according to mechanics that have worked on this model in the past.
I had a 2014 Range Rover Sport. It was lemon lawed. They sent me a refund check as I had paid the car in full. I got a 2015 Sport as they guaranteed me all issues were fixed. I have even more issues with this car. It gets stuck in neutral and the car has to be fully shut down and restarted. The navigation shuts down en route to a destination. Just goes blank. Now my battery died overnight and it is a nightmare because I have no car tomorrow morning and they dont bring you a loaner. Range Rover is a nightmare. Ive had more issues with this car in 3 months than any other car in 5 years.
It was amazing. It was so cool and had so much fun on this brand. It has a lot of rooms and capacity to be helpful to others. Nice and good looking brand as well. Also was satisfied by their services offered. It may be expensive but I like the way it is and yup its worth a penny because its so new and different from the rest of the brand I have had ever tried. I am so happy to have this kind of brand and be lucky to get to experience it.
I have had my vehicle for about a year and have only been able to drive it a little over 8 months due to the incompetent services rendered. Today (Mar 2nd 2017) I received my vehicle after 2 1/2 months (Dec 16 2016) of it being in the shop for the third time and it was delivered with a broken windshield window. The service manager was notified and informed the tow truck driver to still drop off the vehicle; not to mention the RANGE ROVER road assistance crashing the vehicle into my garage on one of these three occasions.Dealings with the RANGE ROVER BRAND has given me a negative image of them and how they treat their customers. Nothing has been resolved after over a year with dealing with RANGE ROVER Customer Service and RANGE ROVER USA and now they have forced me to look into the Lemon Act for my State. BUYERS BEWARE!!!
Memphis, Tn. Bluff City Range Rover. Very dissatisfied!!! Drop my vehicle off to get some repairs done on July 10, 2019 for (REPLACE BOLTS/RESEAL EXHAUST LEAK. I received a phone call from Mr. ** my service rep. (very nice guy) on July 15,2019 informing me my car was ready for pickup, he also stated that they find another leak that’s going to cost me 4,953.32 total for a new (TURBOCHARGER) after 5 days with my vehicle. Only with 104,000 miles on my Range Rover EVO 2014. I ask ** why they see this when I got the diagnostic done. (Paid 150.00 for diagnostic) I was told to fix the problem that it would only cost me 527.98. At this point, Im like, Are you serious sir. Ok I get to the dealership to do the test drive with Mr. Mike ** on July 16, 2019. While I was driving my vehicle didnt sound no different than when I dropped it off.I ask Mr. Mike why do Ive pay for something that I to still take it to somewhere else to get repairs done? He said, “Let me check on this for you. Because you shouldnt have for the service.” Mr. Mike was very courtesy. By this time a hour has pass by, then Mike approach me again stated his district manager said that I will still have to pay for the service, due to the labor. Wow! Why paid for something that the same problem that you stated you would repair, that’s still not fix. REALLY! 2 hours has now pass by, I ask to speak to Mr. Dennis **. I went into his office and ask him why pay for something that’s still not repaired. Mr. Dennis said in front of me and Mr. Mike because of the labor and also they find another leak, once they got to the part on my vehicle. He once said again the guys has to get pay for the labor time. But my vehicle is driving with the same sound from when I dropped it off.I told Mr. Dennis it sound like you more concerned about the money than the situation and not the relationship as a long time customer. Why pay for something that you didnt repair? At this point I said a few words to him, paid and went on by way. Very horrible situation. Mr. Dennis had not concerns at all. Very Rude in the way he spoken to me. His main focus was money/labor! Ive begin coming to this location since 2015. No problem at all with customer service. It was a COMPLETE RIPOFF. I wonder how many people get ripoff daily here. 2 hours 30 mins and he took my money with a unrepaired vehicle. Spoken to several of mechanics. They said to me this doesnt sound right at all. I dont think this is a bad place--just a HORRIBLE GENERAL MANAGER. Mr. Dennis rob me with no mask on!!! Fighting now to get my funds back. I pray you make this right. Upset & disappointed
I purchased a 2012 LR4 with 45k miles...and at 62,000 miles the timing chain fails and Land Rover quoted me $15k to fix. I filed a claim to Land Rover NA, and of course it was denied in spite of the fact that they know of this widely known problem and several pending class action suits. Offered me $500 to settle. What a joke and scum bag company. Do Not Ever Buy a Land Rover from these pukes.
Land Rover makes a variety of models, Range Rover included but pricier. There is an LR2, an LR4, different sports varieties which depends on the style you like and your personal aesthetic towards vehicles. Land Rovers were first described to me to be an all-terrain vehicle that can handle a variety of weather conditions. Some have a roll feature on top in case the vehicle were to roll, most are more square in appearance and have the inside of a sporty luxury vehicle. Land Rovers and Range Rovers both have upgrade features that many other car brands have as well and most vehicles have the ability for seat options greater than 5 people which is great for large families or people needing the extra space for traveling, off roading, camping, etc. Loved the Land Rover but expensive to maintain.
Loud humming noise from the rear end started 400 miles after warranty was up. It will cost over 5K to repair. Zero covered. Land Rover does not stand behind this issue. You can google Land Rover rear differential problem and get thousands of issues. Just look at Land Rover’s only website. Land Rover has not done a recall on this issue or anything about it.
Amazing purchase, I loved it. I enjoy the fact that they have the matte black option. I love how high lifted most Land Rovers are and range rovers as well too. Land rovers can be easily customized into different colors and lifts and I recommend the leather interior as well if you decide to go with this brand. The brand Land Rover usually has at least seven rider optional to seat. I definitely recommend Land Rovers if youre looking for a lot of room and want to carry a lot of passengers, they are VERY reliable.
Range Rover Evoque - Car lost power on the highway going uphill. The dealership said I had a blown turbo charger and the car had 57k miles on it so it was not under warranty. $4k later & two weeks in the shop I have the car back and am nervous to drive it. Ive also had both front headlights blow out during a nasty snow storm & dealership had no idea why. Good thing that happened under warranty or else I would have had to pay. The car is dangerous and there should be a suit against Land Rover.
Land Rover has many cars and there are many models to pick from. They are all beautiful, glossy, sleek and shiny. They had black, silver and gold that were intensely amazing and gorgeous. They also have the best personalization options. We had a whole family in the car like 10 of us. It was so much fun bonding and being on the road. I even felt upgraded all the time I listened to Upgrade you by Beyonce in this car. Thank you Land rover. I would greatly recommend please take this car.
In my last night traveling in TX I was packing my Range Rover EVOQUE. I was carrying a case of water and I tried opening the back door of the vehicle using my leg since this vehicle has a sensor that will open the door passing the leg on the corner. As I tried opening I felt like if someone touch me with a super hot object. I looked down and didnt see much at first but the next day I had a big bubble in my leg filled with liquid. It looks horrible now. I feel like I have been marked for life :(. I want awareness for owners, this could be really dangerous. Does anyone know how can I put a complaint?
Recently I purchased a used Range Rover with 93K miles for my wife. In unbelievable mint condition on the outside, I had issues from the get go with an oil leak and a few electrical problems that kept the vehicle in the shop 4 out of the first 8 weeks of ownership. Scary to say the least. Fortunately, the previous owner had bumper to bumper coverage and Land Rover of Tulsa covered all expenses and got the ride in great working order. **, service manager, did a phenomenal job of taking care of myself and my familys new ride.
My Range Rover Sport April 2018 sustained a minor rear end shunt on the 14 May and since then the vehicle has been off road because the tailgate will not remain closed and Land Rover cannot provide a replacement or indeed give any indication of when the relevant parts will be available, I know they are called off road vehicles but this is taking the term too literal. Should manufacturers be allowed to sell vehicle and then fail to keep them on the road due to lack of back up. Don’t buy a Land Rover.
I bought a 1999 HSE from a guy in NW Houston. He was only too happy to unload this ** on me for $3300. It drives great, it blows cold AC, but since Ive had it, Ive spent nearly twice what I paid for it. First, the key fob broke. It cost $700+ for them to send me this ancient looking control two weeks later. The sun roof track broke. They told me it would cost $2800 to replace the parts. Later, it was $2900 for brakes and shocks, and then, the last straw was $3000 for the catalytic converter. The back story: On one of my wallet siphoning trips to RR North Houston, I had a head lamp reflector lamp come off and a fuel issue that caused my check engine light to come on. I paid $1300 for that, but the week later, the reflector came off and the check engine light came back on. They told me the code was new on the check engine soon, and to bring the truck in so they can see if I had done something to the light which is really only a snap in.Wait, what?! They told me that I had to pay almost $300 for a whole light assembly, but what they really did was snapped in a reflector? Range Rover has a monopoly in the city because not many people can repair them. They treat you any kind of way because they know people almost have to rely on them for service. That really sucks. When I left today to get my reflector looked at, one guy told me it would be in on Monday, June 25. Then I got another call that said it would be in in a few weeks. Im going to do my best to trade this vehicle in and for as long as I live, I never ever want to have dealings with the lying, cheating, stealing Range Rover or their product again.
I purchased this new Range Rover PHEV in May last year. In September we couldnt detach the charging cable. Roadside assist came and said the fault with this is so bad it needs to go to the dealer. This took the dealer and Land Rover 3 months to fix, with all sorts of faults discovered and waits for parts. We get it back and start to get major issues with the infotainment system and departure timers losing settings at random, or the car locking up during the charging cycle, so it wont actually charge. There no traffic info available now, the sun blind operates on its own while driving, the radio can change volume on its own, camera alerts are at maximum system volume, sometimes the infotainment system wont come on until you drive a mile or so.I have documented these and other faults, but are told theres nothing wrong with the car. I even have video evidence, but nothing is being done by JLR, who are aware of it, both at Dealer and Factory level. The leather seats are showing signs of wear on the seat base - The dealer steamed the leather to cure the issues, 500 miles later its as bad as ever. I understand too that its now subject to a recall because the engine does not meet publish emission standards. We have purchased over the years 2 Discos and 9 Range Rovers - Never again will I buy a JLR product, theres simply inadequate support.
I am a student in the United States. I wanted to purchase a car from the local retailer in Richmond, Virginia. They refused to sell me a car just because I am a student but I felt it was a race discrimination. They kept asking me from where I am getting my money. I wanted to purchase a car for my own use while I am here in the United States for the duration I am studying. They started asking me personal question like from where will you get your money. For the past three months I have not gotten an answer from them. I went to visit the dealership again but they asked me to provide a 6 months bank statement. I am not sure why would they want one since I am not financing the car (I cant get a finance since I am an international student). They have been giving me a really hard time. There is no law within the United States that would prohibit me from purchasing a car. I currently own a jeep and would really like to add a Range Rover in the family. I hope I can hear from you soon and help me out with this situation.
I was driving my 2013 Range Rover Evoque earlier today and the steering failed and it started to makes a screeching noise. Fortunately no one was hurt but I was very disturbed by feedback I have received from x3 Land Rover garages. Each from my description of the fault has diagnosed it as a steering rack failure. One mechanic confirmed that this is a common fault and Land Rover recalled 2012 models to rectify this. I have been advised that there is a 3-4 week lead-time to fix due to a backlog in parts indicating that there is a high failure rate and the cost will be approximately £3,000 for a car that has only done 45,000 miles and 6 months out of warranty. I am in the process of ordering the parts but wondered if anyone else has seen this issue as I think it is highly dangerous and should be investigated. I have filed a complaint to the Driving Standards Agency, curious to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.
Dealership had my car for four months and returned it with numerous issues just to get their loaner back and shove the car out the door. Came back with a busted windshield, door handle, tire pressure and balance issues as well as a filthy interior. They likely broke the windshield when they removed it to replace the front harness but say it was a poorly repaired recall item from the past. They told me to bring back their loaner and go rent a car and pay for it out of pocket. They offered first to pay my lodging since the delayed parts derailed my travel, then rescinded the offer. The owner even said that I must have done something to it to cause a 2016 Evoque with only 30K miles to completely fail. I assure you, my use of the vehicle has been quite tame, even outright boring compared with the shenanigans you see on the Land Rover Commercials.Land Rover has lost what would have been a customer for life. I fell in love with this beautiful car but its beauty belied the many problems under the surface. Land Rover cares zero for their customers or their brand and youre best off to bring your money to another dealer who cares about their brand and their customers. I spent many years in customer service and can say I have never been treated so poorly.
I ordered a new 2017 Range Rover Sport. I waited over four months to have what I thought was the car of my dreams to be built. The day after I took delivery, I was back at the dealership because the navigation didn’t work. My car has been into the service department 7 times. Initially, the car would alarm when getting into it, saying the car was not put in Park. I took pictures to show the car was in park each time, but would sound off when I would get back into the vehicle. This was ultimately resolved with what they said was a software update. I have an iPhone 7 that works all the time, including with my 2008 BMW. The phone does not consistently connect to the Bluetooth. A call will go out or come in, but neither person can hear the person on the other end of the line. The navigation does not connect. My last time in, I was told it might be my phone. There was nothing they could do. Software was up to date. This was after the entire Infosystem has been replace for the phone not working, the media not working, the navigation not working, and the entire screen going black for no reason at all. After contacting Apple, they confirmed my phone is not the issue. After countless trips to the service department without resolution, I requested Land Rover buy back the car. Even though they have at least 6 service records, they replied they have looked into it, and my car does not qualify, without a real explanation. I have now submitted my complaint to the BBB. I cannot imagine a luxury 2017 vehicle is not compatible with a phone that’s a year or so old. It works perfectly fine in every other circumstance, including the Bluetooth in other vehicles.
Purchased a new Ranger Rover Autobiography 2.5 yrs ago and from the first month has issues. Now been back to garage 25 times - 5 roadside assistance - servicing massive issue with failure to fix the issue so returning back into garage. Jaguar Land Rover fob you off and simply ignore your questions and concerns. Harwoods dealership told me to go and buy another brand as I clearly am never going to happy with the car. Its quite staggering. Now just finding out I am one of many. Wish I was aware of their unreliability before I purchased. Now stuck with car or facing a massive loss. NEVER BUY A CAR FROM JAGUAR LAND ROVER OR HARWOODS.
Just read all of these reviews. I recently acquired a Land Rover Discovery custom built off of the assembly line. 1200 miles and we experienced a horrific gas leak in the engine. My wife filled up the car and shortly thereafter the entire car was full of gas fumes. LR dispatched a tow truck. The tow company requested that we call the Fire Department before they would touch it. Then they were unable to get it into neutral or drive. Wanted us to sign a waiver releasing them of any issues while transferring the truck. We would not. So hours later they left. We are waiting on another tow truck now. After reading these reviews I am very concerned that I just threw $70,000 down a hole. The vehicle smells terribly of GAS fumes and it does not run. We do not want this car back under any circumstances. Might lead to litigation if we do not get a replacement. Just what you want after buying your wife her first new car in years!!!
60000 miles just replaced the fuel pump and the turbocharger. Luckily RR covered it under the warranty. Overall I love the vehicle. It is very comfortable and I like the interior and the exterior styling. No other issues really. Hopefully were good from here in out.
I bought 2011 LR4 2 years ago. In the last 4 months, I have to send my car to fix parking brake 4 times. The problem is not fixed yet! The company did not keep its promise to reimburse my rental car. This is nightmare! The service department is no help at all. Can not get anybody from the dealer to help. This is the worst experience in my life.
I own a 2014 Range Rover. The engine completely went out at 56K miles. The warranty is 55k miles. Land Rover will not assist me with repairs. I have seen a lot of complaints about the Range Rover Evoque online. If interested in a class action lawsuit, please email me a short description of your experience, first and last name with contact information.
In over 30 years of purchasing various vehicles, we can say without question that the Range Rover Velar has been our worst purchase ever and our greatest disappointment. We feel SO strongly about this that we even took the time to create our own webpage outlining our experience. Please see rangeroverreview.com.
Land Rover is a very diverse brand of vehicles that Ive decided to never stray to different brand. The economics of their compacts for my kids to the SUV for my work, and the luxurious sedan for travel, and the sporty look as well for around town. I always felt they were rather boxy looking but over the past 10 years they have really caught up to and surpassed the other brands out there. My family and I, and friends on our street have no problem piling into our SUV for gameday. All in all, great except for repairs.
I have had my 2015 Evoque for 60 days now and we just picked it up from our Land Rover dealer service for a gearbox fault (I will get more into that shortly). On the way home on the highway, the car lost power in the fast lane, basically shut down and give us the same gearbox malfunction code as before. My wife and 6 year old child were in the car with me when this happen. Cars behind me had to slam on their brakes because my Evoque was slowing at a fast rate and I had no power to get out of the way. Luckily there was an opening in traffic for me to pull into the side of the road. The same thing happen last week when my wife was driving my son to the doctor and A SEMI TRUCK NARROWLY AVOIDED RUNNING INTO MY WIFE AND CHILD BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE! My wife doesnt want this car, I dont want this car, I feel like my family is not safe in it anymore and I honestly dont know what path to take.I love(d) the Land Rover brand and weve owned an LR3, LR4, and a Range Rover Sport. We were excited to experience this vehicle and it has led to nothing but heartache. I believe Land Rover owes me a new, safe vehicle. Especially after being a loyal customer for the last 7 years.
My Range Rover sport 2013 was the best until I had to do maintenance and there is when the nightmare starts. A car with only 40.000 miles on. The car is now 60.000 miles and the coolant problem still not solved. After spent so much money to get scammed by these people I still need to put coolant at least once a week, ignore the coolant light on because it can never be fixed. These cars are popular for having coolant leaking problems but doesn’t matter how much they charge and you are willing to pay you will only get scammed. They will not fix your car or admit that they are basically taking your money for the same thing over and over again. Took my car to 5 times to get this problem solved, spent thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing. Just stress. And they have the audacity to call you next day to say: Are you happy with our services? Oh no, I’m sorry for all the trouble we may cause to you. Maybe we can fix this issue with a new car!!! No. Thanks! Every time I took my car to get “fixed” they loan me a newer model and all drive like cheap cars. I should listened to friends who deal with the same problems with their brand new Land Rovers and should never ignore all the bad reviews they have. Now I’m absolutely ready to sell it and get far far away from any type of Land Rover or Jaguar brand cars. I absolutely don’t recommend Land Rover cars. Horrible experience!
Numerous problems with turbo not engaging. Several trips to dealership for computer resets etc. ** from the sales/service folks. Still left hanging in traffic with accelerator pressed, no response, then kick in and thrown back in seat. Most dangerous vehicle ever. Horns continuously blowing because I wont go at stop lights. Random overhead lights come on for no reason. If your brakes get close to 50% worn, you must replace the rotors! So Im about $1k into brakes at 34000 miles. Pretty is all its got going for it. Place that sold it to me for 41k offered me 31k 10000 miles later. And it still wont accelerate! Waiting on recall or to invoke the Lemon Law. Land rover service is so far behind BMW as to be in another category altogether. The L for luxury actually stands for Lemon when it comes to Evoque! I want my $$$ back!
I purchased a 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE LUX in December 2014. A couple weeks later I started hearing an intermittent high-pitched sound from the dash. I have not been able to pinpoint what causes the noise. It doesnt matter whether or not I have the heat or AC on. I have had the car back to the dealership several times, for weeks at a time. They have admitted there is a problem, but they have not identified a fix. They have told me 3 other customers at my local dealership have the same complaint, but they have no answers. I have been in touch with both Land Rover North America Headquarters and the BBB. I have tried to evoke the SC Lemon Law. I have been told the noise does not qualify because it is not a safety issue. So here I am with a very expensive car that makes an obnoxious high-pitched noise and I can do nothing about it. I have never been more frustrated!
2019 Velar Safety Issues. Be very wary. The quality of the range rovers has dramatically decreased and, in my opinion, pose a safety issue. I have had the following issues that have gone unfixed because range rover does not know how to fix their own vehicle. - Back hatch closes without prompt and does not stop when it hits something (someone). I have been personally trapped in the hatch several times. - Infotainment center (all displays) lock up and do not reset when the car is turned off. Resets after 4+ hours. This is a big issue since the entire display unit is tied to this. You cannot change or see speed, air temp, etc. - Differential issues - locked up differential that the dealership insists is how the car drives!- Bad fan motor - sounds like an airplane.I have video proof and range rover insists on not fixing the issue because they cannot replicate it.
After 2 1/2 years of leasing my Land Rover LR4, my car began to die. It was towed to Larchmont Land Rover who were not professional and could not get me a loaner; although they offered to pay for me to go to enterprise, I refused. After a week, they were unable to find a problem and then finally said they put in a 2nd battery back up. About 28 days later, my car wouldnt start. Now we decide to use White Plains Land Rover; even bigger mistake because after changing the battery, we also needed a new halogen light which we were advised would be covered under warranty and then later was advised it wasnt and had to pay $200. I was shocked that the service manager wouldnt even go half with me since THEY misinformed me. In the end, he refused the service to me; he should have accepted his mistake and ate the loss but no, instead he was very unhappy that we never used them to service our car for things like an oil change; and why would I do that and pay double for an oil change when I can go anywhere else for less. HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE... I really enjoyed the drive and interior of LR4 but WILL NEVER AGAIN GET ANOTHER ONE!!
Within 10 months of purchase of a new 2012 Range Rover from the Glen Cove dealership, the check engine light came on. I took it to the same dealer for service. Within two days, I got my car back. A week later, the light came back. I took it in for service again. This time they told me that the entire fuel system was contaminated from bad gas and needs to be replaced, but the warranty does not cover that and it will cost me $8,700. The insurance apparently does not cover that either. I am outraged. My car is less than a year old, and I cant drive it. I have never heard of such a problem in my 30 years of driving many cars.
This vehicle is awesome. The drive is smooth and soothing. Almost like riding in an airplane. The seating is like sitting in your recliner riding down the road. The instrument panel also give you that airplane feel. The steering wheel has that ergonomic feel. The manufacturer has stop at nothing to make you feel special even after the sale. When you get this baby home all heads will turn. Heck your garage might even give you a high five after you drive this baby in. This is by far the best vehicle I have seen in the past decade. You will think so too after a drive.
I was looking for a car that was luxurious yet practical and Land Rover had everything that I was looking for. They had amazing variety of luxury cars that met different needs of successful people at great prices. They have cars for everyone. Their cars come with so many features you would expect to receive. I upgraded my car to fit my life and there were so many options. I chose the one that I felt was the most reasonable for my money and I am satisfied. In my Range Rover Sport, the passenger capacity is perfect. I do not have children, so I do not need as much space but they do have other models to accommodate that though.
I bought my 3rd Land Rover in 2017 after a long hiatus (after issues in 1998/2003). Almost immediately the infotainment screen began blacking out and rebooting all the time. It took 3 days for them to update this, it worked a bit better but it was not perfect. Whenever I called in for service, they would ask me if I was SURE I wanted to get it fixed (like, are you SURE you want to wait for how long its going to take us) because they dont have loaner cars, and the technicians are slow to get to issues. This was April 2017. Forward to December. I am driving out of my neighborhood (I am at 5500 altitude) and I accelerate aggressively to get around an 18 wheeler as I am getting into high speed traffic coming down the mountain. My accelerator pulls from my foot, is flush with the floor, and tips at 85 mph with the RPM gauge redlining at 8000. The car is wobbling and shaking, I have zero control of it. I press the brake several times pretty hard/gentle and it finally pops out. I never drove the car again. (Note, the service person had the audacity to ask if I was sure I wasnt accidentally driving with both feet. Right. 1st gear at 8000 RPM. With my right foot on the brake. Yeah). Car was towed back to the dealership where I got it, 500 miles away, they offered me a decent trade amount, I trade up to a Supercharged regular Range Rover, with a hefty price tag. They put this car above back out on the lot for sale a few days later. The new car has issues almost immediately. The steering wheel jerking into left and right lanes at high speeds out of the blue. Techs said, Oh disable your lane assist. So I did that, no help. I almost was jerked into an 18 wheeler on a curve on a highway in the rain the next day going 65mph. Then they say, Oh, disable your blind spot warning. I did this as well. Of no help. I go in and uncheck the driver assist for both options, and it seems to help some. Then of course the black screen starts its visits, rebooting in the middle of driving or not coming on at all. Bluetooth calls dropping. The gear shift dial sticking (cant D to R or R to D or P) and with the computer rebooting randomly, coming back on during driving, all the cameras go nuts and start making sounds all over the place until it realizes that the car is actually DRIVING now, not trying to park. The dealership refunded my money for this one. I am forever grateful for that, they did step up. They did imply that LRs were more for appeal and looks and status than reliability and dependability. They say, its a great car if you are ok with being in the shop, even better to live near one. I got a GMC Yukon Denali yesterday. Its amazing, and my breakup with Land Rover is complete. The accelerator incident was one of the scariest events of my life. I am not a panicky person, but I had nightmares for weeks after that one.
Purchased Land Rover Discover 4 brand new with 8km on the clock. Attempted to drive home. Only made it 6km along the highway when the transmission failed. Land Rover were horrendous to deal with. Firstly asking if it could be driver error (it is an automatic!) then insisting on replacing the entire transmission against our wishes. Two weeks after the day of purchase and all along we refused in writing to accept the vehicle, yet Land Rover drove it to my place of employment and left it there. I had just signed up for a 5 year Lease so couldn’t get out of the contract without great financial penalty. So we were stuck with this lemon for 5 years and it has been so unreliable, the best it ever performed was when sitting on the back of a flat top tow truck. Suspension cracks, constant oil leaks, shudders at speed (really, really shudders!) breakdowns and clunking noises are all part of this heap of rubbish. Never again!
My $75k car broken down after 2 days of ownership. This is my 3rd day of ownership for this brand new 2017 Range Rover Sport car and I have already experienced a multitude of problems. I left the dealership with a full tank, but today the car said my tank was empty even though I only drove 160 miles according to odometer. I called the dealer and was asked to drive to dealership for a checkup. My dealer (Encino CA) is 26 miles away, so I decided to drive to Pasadena Land Rover (1 mile away) for a quick checkup. Then, out of nowhere, my car stalled 4 times in the middle of road on the way to the dealership. I almost got into accident because the car stalled while I was turning in an intersection!Once again, my Range Rover stalled at dealer’s parking spot which happened to be at an incline. The car (switched to?) neutral and I began to slide backwards. Although I was screaming for help because I was losing control my car, the service guy took his sweet time. He nonchalantly told me to keep pressing on the break. However, because of how heavy the car is and I was stationed at an incline it took a considerable amount of strength to press the break in order to make sure the car stayed still. My foot was holding the break for five minutes before the dealer finally approached me. I almost lost my strength to hold on break because my foot was shaking from the amount of force I was using to push the break. I almost attempted to press the panic button.Instead of driving a brand new car, I felt that I was driving some 50-year-old car. Even with its advanced safety features, the system still failed me and I could have gotten into a fatal accident. No one should have to deal with these issues, especially if the car is brand new and you have only driven for a couple of days. Overall, the Range Rover Sport 2017 is an unreliable car and Land Rover has bad service. Don’t buy this car or any cars from this company.
In 2012 our LR2 was at 118,421. We were told by Redwood City service that differential/transmission failed. Replacement cost = $7,000. We said NO. It is 2015. LR2 is over 161,000 miles. Differential/transmission = good. Conclusion?
Since 2014 my Land Rover not only has caused me serious bodily injury, has been in service more than 10 x to present. 3 or more for the same issue. I have made multiple cases to corporate and several lemon law suits. I am at wits end. My kids and I are so scared to drive in the car because it continues to break down. They have done 10 or more updates, put in a new transmission, starter and the list goes on. It lunges forward, pops out of gear, shakes, vibrates, etc. The car is a safety hazard. The dealership agrees with me that the car has major problems and has not worked right since the beginning. All I want is to get my money back and give the car back. Corporate has not worked with me in any way.
Bought 5/16 from Maserati dealer. Brake issue note on we owe you form. Dealer bailed! Took to LR dealer had inspected - run out 3x factory specs. Drove to NY 1200 miles, paid another JLR and they said no issue. Called original LR Dealer in Fl., said may be some rust due to humidity and car stand in lot. Ok. Not go to used Tow Hitch in my tool storage area. Well will not lock. (Orange key cannot be removed) Turn Green LR key lock assembly, will not lock, so I can remove key. Called warranty company, they said not excluded part, go to dealer. Called dealer to see if they had part in stock ($700) tow hitch. There are four part number for these tow hitches. Long shafts/short shafts are newer.Dealer parts was too busy to see if available, dont want to wait for UK, who gets from India. So cant tow. My Cayenne Turbo, fast as hell, but designed to blow oil, like an oil burner when hammered! Thats the way it is. RRS was driven by a lady and very clean used car, has AJ133 V8 same as XF and good on gas (67mph 1700 rpms-23-24 mpg). Jag gets over 28, but lighter. Cayenne was 20 mpg unless hammered then 9 mpg, but 125mph a no brainer! Bummer Tow hitches dont lock up right and are a road hazard. Poor design, but hopefully dealer will agree this is a breakdown not wear and tear, since used slightly by prior owner.
Between Range and Land Rovers, theres a ton of options. Theres the Sport, Discover, and Evoque which are all different prices. They are very nice and easily customizable. You can customize almost anything. A popular route is the blacked out Range Rover, which looks very sleek. You can also choose from the basics - just color of leather and outside. The car is beautiful inside and beautiful outside! I love the look and feel of the cars. Great colors for leather and outside. It has very distinct look and you can tell they are Rovers. A lot of the cars have a 7 person capacity, but the back seats can be small and crammed. The front seats are full and luxurious, though, and could comfortably seat two petite people (not while driving though!). Its overall a great car and would recommend it.
The headrests in the 2015 Range Rover are not designed properly. They are tilted to push your head in a forward position, and cannot be tilted backwards enough to be level with the seat. They are extremely uncomfortable and causing neck aches, for both driver and front passenger. Land Rover was contacted but said there was nothing that could be done. I did not have that problem with my previous two Range Rovers. I do not have this issue with any of my other cars.
Hi. We bought a brand new Land Rover Discovery 2018 last year. Every month has been in the shop for some repair (back seat broken, upper arm left broken, next month upper right arm broken, wire in the control panel not connected after some repair, hood not opening, radio not working and more). Every time it take 3 weeks to have an appointment or more if you need a loaner car. Today I called and the next appointment for my car will be December 12 but I am going in vacations so not before January 12 2021 now. My problem on top of it is I am living in the mountains and the loaner car will not have any snow tires so I am pretty sure I will not make it back home again. I am so tired of the service. I want to sell my car but I cannot do it until my car is fixed.
Land Rover Hinsdale worked on my car several times... Was guaranteed there will be no more problems with the rear differential. Less than a year later, it was leaking again. They took care of it but claimed I need a front wheel bearing... I wanted to confirm it had nothing to do with the rear Differential so did not authorize work until I can confirm it was truly a front wheel bearing... To my surprise they called claiming the car was fixed And I now owed $837.00. None of this work was authorized.... I was never able to confirm whether it was a front or rear wheel bearing or whether the rear differential was leaking. And that was why the rear bearing went out. Really makes me wonder... What were they hiding??? Why would they not let me confirm it was a front wheel bearing... was there a problem with my rear differential??? Was there a problem with my rear axle?? Did this cause problems to my rear wheel bearing?? I will never know!!! I was told by corporate Land Rover theyve done all they can they are no longer going to pay for any repairs. They claim they done enough... They claim they paid enough... I wish I had this luxury!!!
The Land Rover truck has plenty of room inside with all the amenities like the obvious cruise control but this has parking, and gps. Its climate controlled and ready for the road. This luxury type vehicle is very expensive but well worth it. Can upgrade to get a specific color of seats and interior. You can also get a Land Rover personalized with your own tag. Its a smooth ride and can drive in mountains, snow, ice, sleet and hail. The appearance is sleek yet rugged. It can hold up to 10 people and possibly more if they are small. It has plenty of storage and cargo room, along with the top of the vehicle ready to carry your bikes and other travel necessities.
I loved the car, hated the payment. Not really that much variety to choose from. Other car manufacturer offer more choices. As far as that goes however, for a luxury car its great. The appearance of my Land Rover was amazing. It was sleek and stylish design and loaded with standard features, cruise control, heat and air, CD player, heated leather seats. Also, personalized options were minimal and what was offered coated way too much so I had to compromise on the features I wanted or install after market which voided the warranty. Passenger capacity was also great you could fit 5 adults comfortably which is great for going on road trips with friends or taking your family on vacations.
Our Range Rover Sport 2015 with 47,000kms under 3 years old goes into limp mode and JLR service says it needs a new engine. Although still under warranty they refuse to replace the engine, firstly they say we put the wrong oil in it...this is tested and proven incorrect. Next they say warranty is refused because you cannot supply the entire service history (we purchased vehicle from an auction). We finally track down the original owner and provide the entire service history which is in the perimeters of warranty terms. Still JLR press on for statutory declarations and proof of genuine parts. This goes on for 8 months while JLR try their hardest to squirm their way out of honouring the Warranty. After 8 long months without our vehicle and being treated with distain by JLR Customer Support we finally got a new engine which we were always entitled to. In summary nice comfortable car to drive but will Never buy another Range Rover or product from JLR...Pick up your game JLR, build vehicles that last and have a really good look at your customer service practices.
When driving Evoque and compress the gas, the car stops suddenly and dies. He was already out of service and replaced the fuel pump of the second tank. After 1000 km, the same problem, suddenly standing in the ride, life threatening. With the service is hard to do because they do not believe. Never again Rover ever and ever. Very awful service, poor support. This is NOT a premium brand car; this is a very bad car, for my opinion and experience.
We decided to buy our son an Evoque last year as a graduation present and he has encountered problem after problem. All in all, the car has been into the dealership over a dozen times and has been off the road for the best part of three months within the year. This was not what we expected and decided to complain to Land Rover customer service teams, as advised by the dealership. We might as well contacted the Ministry of Incompetence - though polite and said the right things, at no point have they actually looked at this from our perspective, let alone do anything for us. We cannot get hold of the directors - who are faceless and do not want to know about the inadequacies of their products and after-sales teams. Finally, after receiving advice, we have had to start legal proceedings against the dealership who sold us the vehicle. Land Rover do not even seem to want to support their own dealerships. We strongly advise anyone that is thinking of purchasing a vehicle from this company not to do so. Extremely disappointed with all aspects of this manufacturer. Best of British - I think not.
I put low miles on my cars. I have a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE and the coolant hose broke while driving on a highway, I pulled over immediately when warning light came on but it was too late. The coolant went into my engine, it was overheated, the gasket blown, and 2 cylinders were toast and the engine is warped. The cost of a new engine exceeds the value of the SUV. With 38k miles and routine services done, its unacceptable a $89,000 vehicle would be made so flimsy that the coolant hose would fail. And there are no safeguards against the engine frying. Only if the coolant was leaking instead of a hose bursting. The mechanics are stunned looking at the hose and wondering why Land Rover wouldnt help me out, especially with low miles on the vehicle. From what Im told, do not own a Land Rover that is out of warranty. My dealership is Land Rover of Monmouth. They didnt even offer any break on repair and when I asked for quote on new left over 2016 vehicle they gave me about a 2% discount. A joke with 60+ 2016 range Rovers (including sport model) available when 2017 models are being released by end of year. A different dealership Ive never done business with gave me upfront a better deal before I even started negotiating. Land Rover of Princeton. If I decide to get a new one, I will make sure its not in my possession when its out of warranty and definitely will buy from Princeton dealership. What a disgrace given the price of Range Rovers.
The model I have is a great midsized car, one I have wanted for a while. It has all the luxury items I need. It has a sunroof, nice speakers, aftermarket stereo and nice radio sound. Electric windows, air conditioning, gas efficient usage, backup camera, everything. It can seat 5 passengers and has enough room in the back for everything. All passengers are comfortable in it and theres plenty of room. I really like the look. It is black and the interior is tan. It has tinted windows and the chrome package. It has a lot of upgrades I can do and theres so many options still left but I like it how it is.
Although the infotainment system is a beautiful look to my RR; the software is terrible. Ive had repeated (documented) issues. It has been serviced to correct this problem. Software updates always. Ive reached out to Land Rover USA - Current Case # **. Ive also sent discrete messages through Facebook and Twitter. Im trying to handle this issue through Land Rover (LR) with decency. I sent LR videos of the issues with this vehicle as well, but they have not responded. The vehicle is beautiful; whereas it is the most comfortable ride but it is an $115k piece of technological crap. Currently, my key fobs arent working - yes, after servicing. I am considering delivering this vehicle back to the nearest dealership and walking away from the problems.
2012 Range Rover Supercharge - SO disappointed! Went without a car for well over a year, searched and found this one at a local high lined dealer in Atlanta, Georgia. 2 months after purchase major suspension problems, had fixed, month later more problems with wiring/electrical. Now 10 months later, MAJOR issues. Crankshaft/timing chain plastic parts. Can you even imagine why a car that cost over 100k would have plastic parts, let alone this many problems and repairs needed?I would NEVER recommend this brand of car to anyone every again, doesnt matter how much the price is, it is NOT made to last nor drive forever unless you have at least $5000 a year over the cost of payment and insurance to keep this car in driving condition and safety for your family. Sad to see a company NOT care nor want to make these problems right. I guess it will take many hurt/even killed possible or drag out in court for lawsuits for this to ever be done or fixed. Disappointed is not even the words to describe this company and its products!!!
On 23 July 2014 I purchased a 2011 Range Rover HSE with 35,043 miles on it for $63,289.00 from Land Rover Seattle. At that time I also purchased a warranty from National Warranty Corp., for $5000. To date I’ve put less than 35k miles on the vehicle. So basically Ive spent over $1800 per mile driven. The vehicle has completely stalled out (complete loss of power) on 6 different occasions. On three of those 6 occasions I’ve been put in life-threatening positions. On this last occasion, while entering the freeway at 60 miles per hour the vehicle stalled out. Two times before that I stalled out while crossing a major intersection blocking 8 lanes and the police had to direct traffic and call in 2 other officers to push me out of the way.My vehicle has been in the shop for approximately 100+ days in the last 5 years. I’ve been very patient, but this last close call has pushed me over the edge. I’ve been so traumatized that I no longer am able to drive the vehicle. I contacted their corporate office and the dealership. The sales manager told me, over the phone they would give me $18,000 toward a trade-in + another $2000. When I got to the dealership today they told me they would give me 10K. for my car. It was my dream to own a Range Rover, but clearly it is only for the very wealthy, as I cant afford to drop 63k on a vehicle that I put 35K miles on and the value is now 10k. Please also note that I had a 45,000 and 65,000 mile service on the vehicle.
JLR don’t care about disability! They just want to look like they care while using my DISABILITY AGAINST ME??? I rely heavily on my Discovery 4. They’ve ripped me off & lie constantly! Withheld vital info from A Motor Ombudsman investigation to sway decision??? Great caution must be exercised with the motor ombudsman as it is run by Jaguar Land Rover’s ex-customer service director!
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is heavy and so it makes it easier. lts safe and sturdy and therefore easier to drive. The dash, lights and buttons are informative and driving is safer for me. I like the solid feel of the vehicle. It makes me feel safer in traffic. I like the height I can drive at and it sets down five inches when we stop so I can get in and out easier. However, the interaction of the signal in the tires is inconsistent and worries me sometimes. Also the GPS system is too expensive to update so it is 8 years old and not reliable.
Ive had my 2017 Range Rover Sport for almost 1 year now and if it werent for their lousy InControl dashboard entertainment/electronics system, I would consider this to be the best car Ive ever owned. NOT. It is so frustrating to wait for the system to boot up. Sometimes its 10 seconds, sometimes its 30 seconds, sometimes NOT AT ALL. Sometimes my volume control is stuck at one level. Oftentimes the InControl signs me out of the system which disengages traffic updates and makes you log back in which is cumbersome and not intuitive to say the least (again)! The app works 50% of the time. When it doesnt work it tells you to drive the car and then try again. Really? $95k for this vehicle? I feel for the dealership service technicians because they take the brunt of all complaints with the Land Rover perpetrators hiding in the background refusing to take responsibility for this issue. Fix the problems guys! There is absolutely no excuse for this. Just really bad management, people who just dont care about the consumer. Advice: Dont buy.
Bought a new 2012 Evoque in August if 2013. Early on had a bunch of minor issues (pillar molding making noise at speed, headlight issues, etc.), but loved the car beyond all that (Colima Lime, just the color alone made me smile). About 2 months ago, at 82,000 miles, the engine cut out and could not get it restarted. Thought it was a battery issue and had it towed to a mechanic friend of mine. Within an hour he told me that it was a failed timing chain and that a new engine would be needed. I contacted Land Rover to see if they would cover this even though we were out of warranty. I was instructed to take the car to the closest dealership for inspection before they would even consider the case. It took 5 weeks for them to diagnose the problem as a broken timing chain, but still could not tell me the cause. I provided LR with all the maintenance records. Another 2 weeks went by and they declined to help. When I asked why, I was told that I did not maintain brand loyalty by getting oil changes elsewhere. That has got to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard. It was never a money issue because I always used the highest quality synthetic oils and did oil changes about every 10K miles vs. the recommended 15K. The nearest dealership is an hour away and it’s not always practical to go there. Besides, I have had many vehicles with 100K+ miles on them and did oil changes at the most convenient place, rather than the dealership...never a problem. I am now stuck with having to pay almost $16K for a new engine and the gentleman who declined financial assistance is not willing to even speak with me to give me a better explanation than oil changes not at LR. From reading all these reviews, there does seem to be an issue with the Evoque engine, as they tend to fail right about the mileage mine failed. And from what I read, some of these people even serviced the car exclusively at LR, so it’s not the aftermarket oil & filter BS. Its not even the money that gets me upset, it’s the complete lack of customer service. I mean, it’s $16K...thats the cost of a new car. Couldnt someone take a few minutes to call and explain why they arent willing to help. I am not giving up...gonna try to reach as high as I can, maybe even the company president, or just go screaming to the media...who knows. If anyone has had luck getting to some higher-up, please contact me. Perhaps as one of the posters said, might be time for a class action lawsuit. The bottom line is that they lost a customer. We were about to buy a Range Rover Sport, but thats not happening now. I should have known better to start with. Land Rovers have always had a reputation for being a beautiful car which was extremely poorly built.
The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most comfortable vehicles out there. It will also go anywhere. I love the design and comfort. I also know it is one of the most safest vehicles out there. I would highly recommend buying this vehicle. Just make sure you have a warranty on the vehicle for expensive fixes.
2012 Range Rover Evoque - I purchased this car in September 2017. Shortly after, I noticed the interior of my car smelling like gas. When I brought the car into my local Land Rover dealership for service I told them about the constant odor. Unfortunately they said they did not smell it. About a month later I brought it in for service and told them the problem still existed, once it went unresolved. So now I have it back in for the same problem, and I hope that someone resolves this. This strong gas smell is literally making me feel sick, anyone who gets in my car notices and they dont feel safe. My problem is that my warranty ends in days and I do not want this to now be a huge problem for me. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? Help.
I purchased a Land Rover Discovery TD5 new from Lance **, Ferntree Gully in October 2004. On or around 13 March 2013 Lance ** replaced the fuel pump in the vehicle, which involved removing and replacing the fuel tank. Following this work, the fuel gauge was not seated correctly (showing incorrect fuel levels) and the fuel tank was removed and the gauge reseated. In June 2016 fuel started leaking from above the fuel tank when the motor was running. The fuel tank was removed to find damaged fuel lines because they had not been correctly sighted when the fuel tank was replaced in 2013.On or around 26 September 2013 Lance ** replaced the battery in my vehicle. Following this work I was unable to turn the motor off, the cruise control kept disengaging, and the electric trailer brakes were not working. I had to return the vehicle to have these matters rectified, but paid for a new electric brake console myself. On or around 16 September 2014 Lance ** completed a service and failed to notify me, or carry out mechanical work on a water leak. At this same service I had asked that a light in the dashboard be replaced, but I was informed they were unable to obtain a globe. I think you will agree that the events described above are unacceptable. I had been taking the vehicle to Lance ** believing I would receive an excellent standard of service, but I have been grossly let down and incurred considerable financial costs.
Unfortunately I was blind with the manufactory believing was an excellent, but let me tell you its all problems like a regular manufacturer. The first day before signing the paperwork at dealership, walking around the car I notice left led light was off. Guess what, A FUSE they said... hmm brand new car and fuse blow out... ok... 3 weeks after now my remote keyless wont work... Guess what is common on these HIGH END VEHICLES that the computer or keys go flat. I thought buying $57.000 car was a worry-free, no headaches, like regular manufacturers. Oh, and dont expect 5-star customer service when you have problems, they are like a regular Ford, Chevy, dealership same level.
Bad service. The RR give you the dirty. Very expensive for the quality.
Since I bought my Land Rover I have been happy. Its very durable and Im glad I had no problem with anything breaking. That show me its tough and can handle my everyday driving. I really like the inside of my car. The interior is amazing. It is very easy to clean and if I take it and have it done it doesnt cost much. I also like how many people my car holds. I can go on a family road trip and have everyone because how roomy my car is. It makes me so happy to have everyone on a vacation instead of taking separate cars. Its a great quality vehicle. I have seen some upgrades that I would like to do to personalize my vehicle. It would be fine to do, its minor not to void my warranty.
When I called Land Rover USA for assistance with an active recall for a cracked fuel tank flange on my Land Rover I was given an incorrect information and the infinite runaround ending with Land Rover USA representative hanging up the call. Despite the dangers of of a faulty Land Rover part that causes a fuel leak, Land Rover USA offered incoherent and incorrect information followed by endless bureaucratic indifference. Horrific service.
I leased a new 2017 Range Rover sport dynamic. I absolutely love the vehicle!! I have owned many many cars, I have a lot to compare to. Expensive sports cars, luxury vehicles blah blah... I love this vehicle!! However, I will never lease or buy another one again. Unfortunately, I was in a collision not my fault but that doesn’t really matter. What matters is - It took 6 months for the dealer to repair my vehicle because Land Rover did not have the parts available. Can I remind everyone it’s a 2017 fairly new car. The parts should be readily available!! 6 months no vehicle is a long time. It was suggested to me to contact Land Rover directly with regard to the needed parts. I contacted them. They took all the info and passed it on to a claim agent.I was contacted for additional info and they let me know my parts are on back order. Weeks and weeks later I find out one of the parts - a wiring harness doesn’t exist and the factory has to make one!! That took 2 months. In the meantime calls not returned - no response to emails and when I received a response it was patronizing and totally unhelpful. Never in a million years would I have thought a company like Land Rover would not have parts available for their newer model vehicles. I’m extremely disappointed in the way they handled the situation. Reputable companies are all about customer service and customer satisfaction. They failed big time!
My Jeep Cherokee has a nice appearance. Its black and I received several compliments about it. It has 4 wheel drive which has been handy when it snows. It seats 4 people comfortably but can hold 5 people. We took it on a road trip over the summer with 5 passengers and it has not given me any major problems. We spent 6 hours on the road and everyone was pretty comfortable. It is a good vehicle.
