Buy Land Rover Automobile 2023 Discovery Sport
Steering vibration, in for repair 3 days ago. I has only done 166 miles awaiting outcome!!!!!! Not a cheap car should be perfect. New buyers beware.
Amazing purchase, I loved it. I enjoy the fact that they have the matte black option. I love how high lifted most Land Rovers are and range rovers as well too. Land rovers can be easily customized into different colors and lifts and I recommend the leather interior as well if you decide to go with this brand. The brand Land Rover usually has at least seven rider optional to seat. I definitely recommend Land Rovers if youre looking for a lot of room and want to carry a lot of passengers, they are VERY reliable.
Land Rover has a variety of styles to meet everyones needs. They bring a more rugged 4x4 type feel to a stylish innovative vehicle and you no longer have to sacrifice style to drive a 4x4. Excellent stereo systems come standard and the air shocks that were on the car provide a awesome ride. Theres a leather interior, and plenty of plug-in ports for phones etc. And the sun roof/moon roof is great. There are plenty of options for everyone from the businessman/businesswoman to the avid 4x4 enthusiast. There are also options from stereo to heated seats. I have twins and a 9-year-old so I had to have plenty of room! This was the best vehicle! Can handle the double stroller and all the football/baseball equipment from my oldest.
Theres a lot of colors and styles to choose from. Its well built and has shiny paint, nice seats and dashboard. The setup of the whole vehicle is very stylish and comfortable. It has matching colors and easy to read. Also has bright lights in and out. The clock works and can be read easy. I love the radio, too. The windshield is perfect and clear, and powerful wipers. Also, the back up, brake and headlights are strong. There is enough leg room for all my long legged passengers. There is enough seat space to be comfortable, and can even carpool. You can customize it in anyway they have available. But I wouldnt change too much of the vehicle from its already amazing design. Simple and up to date is best. Moreover, safety is top in this vehicle.
I was 15 days late having the Discovery Sport serviced after one year. I was charged the full cost of servicing... $601. Im not at all pleased and I will never return to lease a Land Rover or Jaguar again.
Purchased a 2013 RR Evoque on 4/12/2016. Absolutely loved my vehicle. The fuel pump went out weeks after purchased. Still under warranty, fixed, no problems. Took care of my car. Had it serviced before even needed. Purchased extended warranty (5000.00). I kept calling the in control ownership and could not get it registered. It was locked on topix. At the dealership they told me nobody does that anymore. Which made no sense. Coz it tells you too. Well thats when things got weird. I brought my car in for an insurance estimate on the meridian system on 12/03/2018. They called and told me I needed a new starter and rear axle and differential. I never had a problem with either.9 weeks later Im told its ready for 13,000 dollars. They did not turn it in to warranty. Told me I have to. So he walks me out to a parking lot to my car (weird Coz they have valet at a luxury dealership). I get in the vehicle and its not mine. This was some salvaged vehicle obviously a flood vehicle. Steve ** walks out to me with a car fax report (how did he know who I was or what I was going to say). I said, where is my vehicle? He said, this is your vehicle. And told me, what you going to do about it? The police say its a civil matter but theres no contract. If that was me I would be in jail for motor vehicle theft. I have been on a year long pursuit to find my vehicle. He has wiped all my service records and the 5000.00 warranty doesnt exist. Motor vehicle has 15 entitle changes with 4 vehicle Ids. I went to level 123 inspections to find out its under investigations. Attorney General never even looked at the paper of evidence and took 6 months for a response from the dealer that altered all entitles. No response from corporate. I recently discovered that car was from copart salvage auction. Steve ** was pulled over for taking flood damaged cars. So beware of and Land Rover vehicle. And do not consider car fax. They have changed the vehicles origin, service and mileage 3 times. In the meantime I continue my search for my vehicle so this Corp. can be sold for their business tactics. The vehicle was for sale in California at fast track auto while I was the owner. Its called cloning.
I have written a review before on this site but this time after 6 years of being in court with Land Rover. I can now tell you everything what has happened. First I have owned 6 Range Rovers and up to the last one I bought from Lloyds Land Rover in Carlisle UK dealer. I had little or no problems with the cars. But then I bought a new sport HSE with the new Jaguar engine 3 litre. From the start this car was a lemon. After only driving less than 200 miles I had a fault when I was driving along it would pull up for no reason. The dash would light up with all kinds of failed components such as hill decent fail brake assist fail engine management fail gearbox fail just about everything.I would then ring Lloyds of Carlisle up and complain that the car has stopped again. This happened several times. I was getting sick. I had just bought this car at a cost of over 65 thousand pound of my very hard earned money. At that price you would think you would have no trouble. This was not the case.I told the garage that I wanted the car fixed so I was asked by Lloyds of Carlisle to take the car in and could I leave it for 3 days. I agreed to this. On the third day Lloyds rang me up and told me that the car was fixed and I would have no more bother with it again. This was on the Friday around 5:30 that weekend we used my wifes car as my new Range Rover had let us down so many times before. On the Monday morning I got into the Range Rover 30th November 2009. I was going to a site meeting at Lochmaben. This was the first phase of 30 houses we started for DGHP possible 5 thousand houses that was getting upgraded and I had a chance of that work. When I was driving the car just out of Lloyds of Carlisle I reached a speed of between 60 - 70 MPH. All of a sudden without warning the cars brakes activated and I came to an abrupt stop. I hit my head on the headrest. Also my left hand was pushed into the steering wheel. I did not know what had happened at all. It was so fast. At first I did think something hit me from the rear but when I gained composure nothing had hit me. The only way I could describe what happened was it was like an emergency stop. I was very angry. I rang the garage from the car and told them what had happened that I was rejecting the car. I did not want it anymore. When I got to the garage I told ** all about it. By this time my neck was hurting a bit also my left hand. Lloyds gave me a loan car and I was told that somebody would ring me later that day. I drove home rang the site gave my apologies told them what had happened that I would not be on site that day. As the day went on my neck got worse so I decided not to go in that week. I struggled on for about 8 week until my wife forced me to go to the doctors from that day. The rest was history. I was x-rayed and I was told that I had shattered my neck after 3 operations on my spine. I am now in a wheelchair and never worked from that day.I had to pay off my workers and close my company down. I lost out in a big way a contract worth tens of thousands of pounds. I tried to sort it out with Land Rover but it was a joke. I was offered 20 thousand pounds plus replacement car at no charge. To me I accepted the car but when that was delivered after about 25 miles it developed the same problem. I was so angry but when I phoned up Lloyds of Carlisle I was told that the problem had been found and had been recalled. It went in. I was told it had sensors replaced and software upgrade had been done. I sold the car soon after but that car before it had done 20 thousand miles the engine had blown up. I did not know about all the problems Jaguar Land Rover had with their cars. If I did I would not be in the condition I am today as I could not sort out some sort of compensation with them and decided to take them to court after the biggest cover up by Land Rover in court. They lied in court to win committed perjury. The judge also said to me that I was trying to besmirch the good name of a first class company. He was under the impression that nothing like I said went wrong with their product dont know if he got a new car out of it or not.All I know is that after six year it was a farce. The only problem is I dont have the money to take them to the high court in London. If there is anyone out there has similar faults with their Range Rovers give me a call or email me as if something is not done to sort out this company. Someone will be killed because of the cars they make. According to Land Rover nothing ever goes wrong with their cars? Email is ** phone is **. Feel free to call or email me. It would help. Thanks.
The model I have is a great midsized car, one I have wanted for a while. It has all the luxury items I need. It has a sunroof, nice speakers, aftermarket stereo and nice radio sound. Electric windows, air conditioning, gas efficient usage, backup camera, everything. It can seat 5 passengers and has enough room in the back for everything. All passengers are comfortable in it and theres plenty of room. I really like the look. It is black and the interior is tan. It has tinted windows and the chrome package. It has a lot of upgrades I can do and theres so many options still left but I like it how it is.
This is my second Land Rover Sport. My first vehicle was excellent. Unfortunately both the product and the customer service associated with the product have descended to the level of abysmal. In three months of ownership the car has completely shut down 3 times and been towed from various locations. Within 3 days of delivery the car shut down on a major highway. Land Rovers corporate customer service response is comparable to dealing with a public utility or government office. They are rude, confrontational and unhelpful. This is a very expensive vehicle. It looks nice but that is the end of its appeal. Do yourself a favor and buy a real luxury brand or at least a car that actually does things like start. My vehicle has spent almost as much time in their repair garage as it has in my driveway.
Land Rover Hinsdale worked on my car several times... Was guaranteed there will be no more problems with the rear differential. Less than a year later, it was leaking again. They took care of it but claimed I need a front wheel bearing... I wanted to confirm it had nothing to do with the rear Differential so did not authorize work until I can confirm it was truly a front wheel bearing... To my surprise they called claiming the car was fixed And I now owed $837.00. None of this work was authorized.... I was never able to confirm whether it was a front or rear wheel bearing or whether the rear differential was leaking. And that was why the rear bearing went out. Really makes me wonder... What were they hiding??? Why would they not let me confirm it was a front wheel bearing... was there a problem with my rear differential??? Was there a problem with my rear axle?? Did this cause problems to my rear wheel bearing?? I will never know!!! I was told by corporate Land Rover theyve done all they can they are no longer going to pay for any repairs. They claim they done enough... They claim they paid enough... I wish I had this luxury!!!
Love at first sight, beautiful, clean, no rust, interior spotless. Finally no more horror driving in winter every winter option on this HSE. Did not even think of no warranty too beautiful to care, that is where they get us, you just fall in love with the white soft leather, the heated seats, the beauty makes you forget about gas mileage and cost of ownership.Driving home could not be happier, until the death grade hill in the mountains. Gave her a little gas to get up the grade with complete confidence in vehicle. All of us have been sucked in by the allure of this vehicle, the strength, the false sense of security this piece of ** lulls you into as the smoke comes billowing out the exhaust as the engine blows out its ring seals in catastrophic fashion. Horrifying noises as every system drowns in a bath of oil as the piston rings blow out, intake and breather choking in oil blowing white smoke like the cooling tower at a nuclear reactor. I am driving on fire. I am going to burn to death on the way home from the dealer. ** me Im gonna burn. The divorce seems inevitable, every dollar spent now turns triple, time means nothing as the machining and valve job and honing and intake and parts overnighted from parts of Germany that you cannot pronounce. Taking apart this 4.4 has taught me that they are made to break, from the plastic timing guides to the fixtures needed to time the engine properly. I feel everyones pain. It took a month of nonstop work and a neverending line of delivery trucks with small packages of valves, rings and every part and o ring I could sign for. Of course my girl wanted me dead surrounded by cranes engine stands and jacks. My self hatred had reached a new level, no food, no talk just that piece of ** rover. I cannot say how much it cost because suicide is the only cure for what this vehicle has cost me.My heart goes out for everyone who took rover for strength. If you do not have a friend with a degree in mechanical (me) or a huge ungodly amount of money to throw at The lying ** called dealers do not fall in love with the ** named rover, walk away, run away, shoot yourself first, the medical bills for a stroke are cheaper than what it costs to keep this thing running, it will squeeze every last breath from you and then demand more....I wish I could listen to my own words, rover will always be my only girl. Please help me I love her so...
I ordered a new 2017 Range Rover Sport. I waited over four months to have what I thought was the car of my dreams to be built. The day after I took delivery, I was back at the dealership because the navigation didn’t work. My car has been into the service department 7 times. Initially, the car would alarm when getting into it, saying the car was not put in Park. I took pictures to show the car was in park each time, but would sound off when I would get back into the vehicle. This was ultimately resolved with what they said was a software update. I have an iPhone 7 that works all the time, including with my 2008 BMW. The phone does not consistently connect to the Bluetooth. A call will go out or come in, but neither person can hear the person on the other end of the line. The navigation does not connect. My last time in, I was told it might be my phone. There was nothing they could do. Software was up to date. This was after the entire Infosystem has been replace for the phone not working, the media not working, the navigation not working, and the entire screen going black for no reason at all. After contacting Apple, they confirmed my phone is not the issue. After countless trips to the service department without resolution, I requested Land Rover buy back the car. Even though they have at least 6 service records, they replied they have looked into it, and my car does not qualify, without a real explanation. I have now submitted my complaint to the BBB. I cannot imagine a luxury 2017 vehicle is not compatible with a phone that’s a year or so old. It works perfectly fine in every other circumstance, including the Bluetooth in other vehicles.
Land Rover Discovery Sport. Where do I start? Ill start by saying that that this is a comparatively inexpensive vehicle built by a luxury car company (mine was $50k compared to $80K) and the TATA company just cant do it. The 4 cylinder turbo is zippy once it gets going and the car is fun to drive, holding like glue in the inclement weather. But thats where the joy stops. The car has experienced problems since 150 miles on the clock. At the time of this writing Ive owned the car for 6 months (4500 miles) and its been in for repair, literally more than 3 of those months, 12+ weeks. Im going on my 9th straight week in the shop it right now. Multiple check engine lights (that was the first), transmission electronically leaving the gear (unable to duplicate), seat quality/fit problems, screen and radio malfunctions (reported software updates) brake wear warning, more rattles than my 1997 British convertible sports car coming from everywhere. This car even has a rattle mod that requires disassembly of the interior down to the sheet metal, cutting and re-welding body panels. My out the door price for the car was $52,500 in November. The dealer has offered my $45,000 in mid May and to get away from the total aggravation, Im taking the $7500 hit and NEVER going back to Jaguar/Land Rover again. A $1250 loss for every month Ive owned it and a $2500 per month cost for the time I was able to operate it, and Im happy to get away. Had I looked into the internet user groups, I would have seen all the problems owners are having worldwide. Do your research before jumping into this. The badge means nothing. This is not the Land Rover of the Queen.
60000 miles just replaced the fuel pump and the turbocharger. Luckily RR covered it under the warranty. Overall I love the vehicle. It is very comfortable and I like the interior and the exterior styling. No other issues really. Hopefully were good from here in out.
Since I bought my Land Rover I have been happy. Its very durable and Im glad I had no problem with anything breaking. That show me its tough and can handle my everyday driving. I really like the inside of my car. The interior is amazing. It is very easy to clean and if I take it and have it done it doesnt cost much. I also like how many people my car holds. I can go on a family road trip and have everyone because how roomy my car is. It makes me so happy to have everyone on a vacation instead of taking separate cars. Its a great quality vehicle. I have seen some upgrades that I would like to do to personalize my vehicle. It would be fine to do, its minor not to void my warranty.
Updated on 01/23/2020: Leased brand new 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE TD6 AWD. Family of 6 so we need to have the third row and this vehicle promised to combine comfort, reliability, and luxury. None of those things were true. The vehicle was delivered to us with the interior drivers door panel detached and hanging from wires. Windows would not open and radio/information panel acting weird. Problems were repaired only to have water coming from upper center console leaking into cabin two weeks later. 10 days to repair. Few weeks later car starts to surge and vibrate loudly when we travelled more than 65 miles/hr. Another few weeks of repair. Over the past 26 months of ownership problems have ranged from the annoying to the absurd: -leaky windshield/sunroof (3 times repaired and still leaking) -electrical glitches with entertainment console -hood cable snapped twice - one time the vehicle would not start because I had to add DEF fluid but couldnt open the hood to add it! -car found dead and unresponsive on driveway needing to be hauled away by dealership on a flatbed because they couldnt even open the doors (never was given a reason as to what caused this other than theyve never seen this before) -defrost fan screaming when turned to max (blower fan changed out twice) -vehicle groans after 65 miles/hr and the noise is so loud the driver and front passenger need to raise their voices to speak to each other (problem still exists even though weve taken car in 6 times for repair - service says they have no idea) -windshield wipers messed up -whistling noise in cabin when on highway - service cant find air leak-condensation inside cabin every day making everything moist and stickySave yourself the hassle and aggravation. Most frustrating, annoying vehicle experience Ive ever came across. Dealership was zero help and never proposed any solutions or resolve. Ive spoken to the general, manager, service manager, sales team and they all shrug tell me ride out my lease. I personally contacted Land Rover and expressed my distress on this and they spent 2 months researching this only to come back with the obvious that the vehicle is a dud. They agreed to purchase the vehicle from me (now only 11 months to go on the lease and most of the negative equity has been paid for by yours truly) BUT ONLY if I purchase a new vehicle from them. So I guess they figure they can treat their customers like crap and then try to force them to get stuck with another one of their crummy vehicles and do it all with a smile on their face and make it seem like they are doing you the favor. Screw Land Rover. Visit my site for more **.Original Review: Purchased a brand new 2017 Discovery HSE Diesel and it has been the worst vehicle. I’ve never written a review before but the public needs to be warned about these vehicles. Problems range from the annoying to the absurd. So far I’ve dealt with leaky windshields (yes, three times), leaky sunroof, water coming into the center console, door panels detaching from their clips and hanging by wires, electrical glitches that get “fixed” by magical updates which require 3 days in service, hood cable snapped twice, car battery dead even though car locked and sitting in driveway with no lights on (had to be hauled on flat bed - service department says they’ve never seen that before and no cause found but took them 3 weeks to get the car back to me), windshield wiper issues, acceleration issues in cold weather, surging when speed hits 60 km/hr, no heat, defrost fan screaming when set to max and I’m sure half a dozen other issues that I’ve forgotten. Save yourself the pain and anguish. This car has spent months in service. It is the worst vehicle made in the last 2 decades.
From my perspective, Ive had far too many issues with this $55K SUV. I purchased the car from Land Rover (Lake Bluff) as a lightly driven dealer demo (approximately 2,500 miles on the odometer). Current mileage is 15K. Since buying the car Ive had it into the dealer for several small issues - trim on driver seat popped off, driver seat squeaking and noise, car stalled during a rain store due to water getting into turbo charger intake, driver side headlight burned out, seal around back hatch was damaged due to design of hatch (not covered by LR), under carriage splash guard broke while driving on snowy/icy Chicago toll way (not covered by LR). Not very impressive for a car that still smells new.Prior to this, I owned an LR2 for (3) years. Great car but I had a ton of issues with the AWD system, car was at the dealer multiple times for the same issue. LR finally agreed to pay to replace the entire AWD on my 4th or 5th visit. Constant leaking problems from rear of car. Paid $35K for this car. My first LR was a 1999 4.6 HSE. Loved this car but it also had tons of issues. Electrical, leaks, air ride system failure, airbags, engine leaks, interior (head liner), exhaust system, computer issues (heating/cooling), etc. - $76K vehicle. LR gave me $1,200 for a trade w/ 80K on the odometer.
I bought 2011 LR4 2 years ago. In the last 4 months, I have to send my car to fix parking brake 4 times. The problem is not fixed yet! The company did not keep its promise to reimburse my rental car. This is nightmare! The service department is no help at all. Can not get anybody from the dealer to help. This is the worst experience in my life.
SUV which you need where I live security system and easy to drive. They are reliable and drives smoothly on all types of road. Can go off roading with it. They have great features like warming seats, window defrosting, heated mirrors, anti-lock breaks, four wheel drive, traction, and great tread on tires. You can get any color they have available, satellite radio, mud flaps, running boards, inside carpeting, color of seats. Has three rows of seating so you can take the whole family out on the trip. If you are going on a long trip so comfort is not going to be a problem for anyone.
I purchased this truck for my wife on January 2007 with 30,000 miles. On August 2007, my truck was hit by some guy from Indiana who didnt have insurance (by this time, I had 32,000 miles), but I was fortunate to have full coverage on my vehicle. I had my car towed to the Land Rover dealership in Darien and was told by Land Rover to have my car towed to Coatlings Auto Body Shop because it was their preferred repair shop for Land Rover. They had to replace the front end, transmission, which they got paid by well over $25,000 for the repair (minus my $1000 deductible). I didnt get my car back until June 2008 and mysteriously, I had 42,000 miles on my vehicle. Ever since I got my truck back, I have been bringing it back to them for the same reason. The truck kept giving error codes and at times, locking up. So when I brought it back to them, Joe from Coatlings said it was a new transmission and it had to break in. So after 3 weeks, I had to bring it back in for the same issue and I was told by Joe and Peter that it was now the wire harness. Then 2 weeks later, Im having the same problem and now Joe and Peter tells me it is the solenoids on the transmission. Long story short, they had Joe from Land Rover come down to their shop to look at my truck and he said what I was saying all along that the transmission was shot so they can order another transmission. They stated that they had to contact the company where they get their transmissions from and they said the guy there stated it was a good thing I brought it back because it was a few days within the one year warranty expiration. So they sent one down 3 months later. Coatlings then had Joe from Land Rover repair it in their shop. Finally, I got my car back yet again for the 10th time, it was riding as if it was missing a gear so I bring it back again. I was told that it was another bad transmission or solenoid so they stated that they had to contact the company yet again. But they said that they only cover the first transmission and that I would need to purchase another one on my own!
Just was pleased with the overall look and I would recommend my friends. Help out in a big way and look forward to the next time. Some site were not as great and didnt take the time to go the extra mile.
I was very satisfied with my first Range Rover after Mercedes. Especially I am very impressed by the Ashford dealership, very competent and friendly staff. They just fixed a stupid electronic gearbox failure indication on my old Jaguar very competently. Driving a lot on the continent I wanted for quite some time to change my RR right-hand drive against a left-hand drive with UK registration. The Ashford dealer had big difficulties to come up with a proposal. In the internet I found at a grey dealer near Brighton a left hand vogue with 511 miles on the clock. Hence I bought the car. It was a Korean version build four years ago registered the first time by Land Rover in 1st May 2016.As the car had no warranty I purchased an extended warranty contract and paid around £1.600,--. Recently I received an undated letter from Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration cancelling the contract. After inquiry at my dealer I heard, that the Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration could not accept this warranty as they could not trace the car, having been sold abroad! I think this is an outright lie as the car had only 511 miles and was first registered on the name of Land Rover May 1st, 2016. I am the second owner. Every dealership also as good as Ashford can only be as good as the main organisation. When the main organisation is untruthful it becomes very difficult for the dealer to be between the main organisation and the client. I wish a competent answer why Range Rover Warranty pretends not being able to trace their own car registered by Land Rover May 1st, 2016.
I leased a new 2017 Range Rover sport dynamic. I absolutely love the vehicle!! I have owned many many cars, I have a lot to compare to. Expensive sports cars, luxury vehicles blah blah... I love this vehicle!! However, I will never lease or buy another one again. Unfortunately, I was in a collision not my fault but that doesn’t really matter. What matters is - It took 6 months for the dealer to repair my vehicle because Land Rover did not have the parts available. Can I remind everyone it’s a 2017 fairly new car. The parts should be readily available!! 6 months no vehicle is a long time. It was suggested to me to contact Land Rover directly with regard to the needed parts. I contacted them. They took all the info and passed it on to a claim agent.I was contacted for additional info and they let me know my parts are on back order. Weeks and weeks later I find out one of the parts - a wiring harness doesn’t exist and the factory has to make one!! That took 2 months. In the meantime calls not returned - no response to emails and when I received a response it was patronizing and totally unhelpful. Never in a million years would I have thought a company like Land Rover would not have parts available for their newer model vehicles. I’m extremely disappointed in the way they handled the situation. Reputable companies are all about customer service and customer satisfaction. They failed big time!
My Range Rover sport 2013 was the best until I had to do maintenance and there is when the nightmare starts. A car with only 40.000 miles on. The car is now 60.000 miles and the coolant problem still not solved. After spent so much money to get scammed by these people I still need to put coolant at least once a week, ignore the coolant light on because it can never be fixed. These cars are popular for having coolant leaking problems but doesn’t matter how much they charge and you are willing to pay you will only get scammed. They will not fix your car or admit that they are basically taking your money for the same thing over and over again. Took my car to 5 times to get this problem solved, spent thousands of dollars for absolutely nothing. Just stress. And they have the audacity to call you next day to say: Are you happy with our services? Oh no, I’m sorry for all the trouble we may cause to you. Maybe we can fix this issue with a new car!!! No. Thanks! Every time I took my car to get “fixed” they loan me a newer model and all drive like cheap cars. I should listened to friends who deal with the same problems with their brand new Land Rovers and should never ignore all the bad reviews they have. Now I’m absolutely ready to sell it and get far far away from any type of Land Rover or Jaguar brand cars. I absolutely don’t recommend Land Rover cars. Horrible experience!
Unfortunately I was blind with the manufactory believing was an excellent, but let me tell you its all problems like a regular manufacturer. The first day before signing the paperwork at dealership, walking around the car I notice left led light was off. Guess what, A FUSE they said... hmm brand new car and fuse blow out... ok... 3 weeks after now my remote keyless wont work... Guess what is common on these HIGH END VEHICLES that the computer or keys go flat. I thought buying $57.000 car was a worry-free, no headaches, like regular manufacturers. Oh, and dont expect 5-star customer service when you have problems, they are like a regular Ford, Chevy, dealership same level.
While driving home, the engine revved up, an engine light came on and vehicle died. I had it towed to Land Rover dealer in Maryland, and was told the engine locked and the vehicle needed a new engine. Extended warranty took care of a refurbished engine after being in the shop for a month. After replacement of the engine, light and revving continued. The vehicle has been in the shop over 15 times for engine light issues. I even had a new wiring harness placed on the vehicle for $1100. The engine light came back on three weeks later. After randomly speaking to people who I come across with the same vehicle, I discovered that the engine light is a common problem. One man told me his engine light has been on for 3 years. WOW!!!
Im extremely disappointed of owning a Range Rover. I have been having the same issues since 10/2016 and Land Rover doesnt want to do anything to help me. This vehicle is faulty and Im very concern with my life. The car turns off in the middle of the highway multiple times. Your customer service over the phone is the worst! They dont care of my issues. They dont empathize with my concerns. Nicole ** is the WORST agent that you have working for your company. She has been very nasty to me. I regretted buying this vehicle. It is not WORTHY paying so much money for a vehicle that cant even function properly. The dealership in Orlando FL, and Gwinnett GA have basically wiped their hands with my car issues, and they cant do anything for me. The Gwinnett dealership says that because I didnt buy my vehicle there, they cant help me with re-purchasing it back. The last time my vehicle was in for service, it lasted two weeks. The day I picked up, it gave me the same problems. The service manager took my car to his house and drove over 80 miles, and didnt even put gas on my car. They gave me the car empty. The loaner vehicle they give you are not even good. They have the same faulty electrical issues. It is very inconvenience to drive a high end vehicle to drive a plain vehicle for two weeks. My service experience with Land Rover is the WORST! You guys dont CARE of your customers. When I try calling your customer support they dont want to allow you to speak with a supervisor. It is ridiculous how you spend so much money for a vehicle, and you get a much better service at a lower brand dealership. I have owned so many brands and I have never experienced anything like I have with Land Rover. This could be a very expensive vehicle brand, but your quality sucks. You do not support your customers. You dont care of maintaining people happy. Im going to go to social media, news, google reviews, and everywhere I can go to express my concerns with my life being in danger because Im driving a faulty vehicle. Im paying so much money for something I cant even drive. Last month in December, I only had the car less than two weeks, when I had to make my entire monthly payment. I wrote to the president of the company and I havent gotten a response. My car has died on the highway. Right now Im more concern with my life than anything else.
My Land Rover LSE current has 28,500 miles on it--mostly city miles (it is four years old). I have been forced to replace front and back brakes ($2300) and tires ($1200), all of which were not covered by warranty. I recently had to replace the stablizer (which fills the air in the suspension system) for $1200, also not covered by warranty. Needless to say, Land Rover should have taken care of all these issues since my car has so few miles!
The headrests in the 2015 Range Rover are not designed properly. They are tilted to push your head in a forward position, and cannot be tilted backwards enough to be level with the seat. They are extremely uncomfortable and causing neck aches, for both driver and front passenger. Land Rover was contacted but said there was nothing that could be done. I did not have that problem with my previous two Range Rovers. I do not have this issue with any of my other cars.
We leased a Discovery Land Rover for 4 months ago, short before Covid-19. After 4 months with the milage of 2000 is broken down in the down town of San Jose, Ca, a huge city, on Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm. We asked for a roadside assistant and they sent us at 12:30 am, after 4 hours, came somebody and towed the car. On Thursday, the dealer said that, We are not able to start on fixing your car until next Monday!! We do not have a car and we can not do anything until Monday. We asked the customer service to help us. They are the worst respectfulness of the customer service, weve ever seen! They told us clear: We can not help you. We do not pay for any rental car. We do not pay for a second towing to the next available dealership. We do not get you any refund etc.The other dealer in the city has availability to fix my car as soon as possible, they have also some extra car to provide me during this time. But the customer service has to pay for towing and they wont to help their customer after they sold the car!!!! If you are thing for a car, do not go to for Land rover in the U.S, because you dont get any service, after you bought the car. They are only nice, before to sell you, but they dont accept any reliability after they did. It means, they are thinking only and only on their business to make money without any respect!!!
Memphis, Tn. Bluff City Range Rover. Very dissatisfied!!! Drop my vehicle off to get some repairs done on July 10, 2019 for (REPLACE BOLTS/RESEAL EXHAUST LEAK. I received a phone call from Mr. ** my service rep. (very nice guy) on July 15,2019 informing me my car was ready for pickup, he also stated that they find another leak that’s going to cost me 4,953.32 total for a new (TURBOCHARGER) after 5 days with my vehicle. Only with 104,000 miles on my Range Rover EVO 2014. I ask ** why they see this when I got the diagnostic done. (Paid 150.00 for diagnostic) I was told to fix the problem that it would only cost me 527.98. At this point, Im like, Are you serious sir. Ok I get to the dealership to do the test drive with Mr. Mike ** on July 16, 2019. While I was driving my vehicle didnt sound no different than when I dropped it off.I ask Mr. Mike why do Ive pay for something that I to still take it to somewhere else to get repairs done? He said, “Let me check on this for you. Because you shouldnt have for the service.” Mr. Mike was very courtesy. By this time a hour has pass by, then Mike approach me again stated his district manager said that I will still have to pay for the service, due to the labor. Wow! Why paid for something that the same problem that you stated you would repair, that’s still not fix. REALLY! 2 hours has now pass by, I ask to speak to Mr. Dennis **. I went into his office and ask him why pay for something that’s still not repaired. Mr. Dennis said in front of me and Mr. Mike because of the labor and also they find another leak, once they got to the part on my vehicle. He once said again the guys has to get pay for the labor time. But my vehicle is driving with the same sound from when I dropped it off.I told Mr. Dennis it sound like you more concerned about the money than the situation and not the relationship as a long time customer. Why pay for something that you didnt repair? At this point I said a few words to him, paid and went on by way. Very horrible situation. Mr. Dennis had not concerns at all. Very Rude in the way he spoken to me. His main focus was money/labor! Ive begin coming to this location since 2015. No problem at all with customer service. It was a COMPLETE RIPOFF. I wonder how many people get ripoff daily here. 2 hours 30 mins and he took my money with a unrepaired vehicle. Spoken to several of mechanics. They said to me this doesnt sound right at all. I dont think this is a bad place--just a HORRIBLE GENERAL MANAGER. Mr. Dennis rob me with no mask on!!! Fighting now to get my funds back. I pray you make this right. Upset & disappointed
Worst car EVER!!! Buyer be warned. My car has less than 20k miles on it and Ive had more recalls on it than I can count. Its been in the shop constantly. Transmission has blown so many times - once in the middle of a 4 lane highway going 60 mph. Thank God there was a barrier next to me. Electrical issues. You name it. I had an extremely rude employee that I sent a complaint about to the company. They didnt even have the decency to respond to my complaint. For a car I spent over $50k I expect decent customer service.Im a physician and Ive told every colleague I know to absolutely stay away from this terrible brand. I get asked many times how I like my Evoque 2015. I always emphatically tell people to stay away its a terrible, terrible car made by a terrible company and you can get something way better for the same price (or less). And you will feel like an actual valued customer. I cant stress how incredibly awful RR is with customer service, quality of product, and overall attitude towards their customers. DO NOT BUY OR LEASE THESE CARS! You WILL regret it.
Land Rover will help all of your daily needs and more. Trust me on this. Im a proud owner of a Land Rover and so is my best friend. It has the best features like the heated seats. Im very happy with the car.
I have had my vehicle for about a year and have only been able to drive it a little over 8 months due to the incompetent services rendered. Today (Mar 2nd 2017) I received my vehicle after 2 1/2 months (Dec 16 2016) of it being in the shop for the third time and it was delivered with a broken windshield window. The service manager was notified and informed the tow truck driver to still drop off the vehicle; not to mention the RANGE ROVER road assistance crashing the vehicle into my garage on one of these three occasions.Dealings with the RANGE ROVER BRAND has given me a negative image of them and how they treat their customers. Nothing has been resolved after over a year with dealing with RANGE ROVER Customer Service and RANGE ROVER USA and now they have forced me to look into the Lemon Act for my State. BUYERS BEWARE!!!
Since I purchased my land rover, its spent more time in the shop versus the road. Every time its fixed it isnt and you spend more money on another part when it is still doing the same thing. The vehicle is worth nothing but a headache. This vehicle will never be recommended. Nor do I even know why they still exist as SUV company.
Land Rover LR3 Defective Suspension Compressor - Diagnostics showed original part was redesigned and suggested replacement. Contacted Land Rover. They would not replace as it was out of warranty. I told them it was not a defective part, it was a part they engineered wrong which is why the diagnostic showed that part was to be replaced with updated part. After writing, calling, etc I gave up. So I had to have local repair shop replace as the closest LR dealer was 3.5 hrs away, so 7 hrs round trip, plus two nights hotel as they said they needed 2 days. Local repair shop cost was $1,300.00 using Land Rovers updated part (dealer wanted $1,600). Land Rover does not stand by their product. Yes, vehicle was out of warranty, however, I have since learned that others have had the same problem. When I spoke with their dealer, they stated, yes they have had to replace many of these. So if you buy a Land Rover, and they have a known part that will fail eventually due to their poor engineering, you better hope it fails in warranty period.
Received new Range Rover HSE Diesel on December 26th, 2019. Took it to dealership in February with only 4,000 miles because brakes began to vibrate and thump. Four months later and after speaking to five different people, Ive now been referred to a Regional Manager. I have been consistently told that there are no rotors and brake pads in stock. What? How could this be when they continue to produce new vehicles. The brakes now vibrate so violently that I dont feel safe, but JLR says its not a problem. Additionally, while my RR Diesel was extremely quiet when I purchased it, it began to sound like your typical tractor-trailer about the same time the brakes went bad. The dealer told me there was an additive for diesel engines as this was a known problem for vehicles operating in higher altitudes. I live at 7,000, so I accepted this answer. However, they apparently dont have the additive because this issue is still awaiting resolution as well. My wife also drives a RR HSE, but Id have to say we are done with JLR.
The car has 50,000 miles on it and I have had to replace the power steering shaft at a cost of $1,600. The horn button broke off and they do not sell just the button, they make you replace the entire horn. Most recently, my check engine light is reporting miss fires and they are recommending replacing all wires and spark plugs at a cost of $1,100. All of this within a 3 month period - awesome. I will never buy a Land Rover product ever again, and I am currently trying to sell mine. Dont put yourself through this. Oh, and in the same breath, the lovely assistant told me that my head gaskets are leaking coolant and oil which will be very costly. Great.
2012 Range Rover Evoque - I purchased this car in September 2017. Shortly after, I noticed the interior of my car smelling like gas. When I brought the car into my local Land Rover dealership for service I told them about the constant odor. Unfortunately they said they did not smell it. About a month later I brought it in for service and told them the problem still existed, once it went unresolved. So now I have it back in for the same problem, and I hope that someone resolves this. This strong gas smell is literally making me feel sick, anyone who gets in my car notices and they dont feel safe. My problem is that my warranty ends in days and I do not want this to now be a huge problem for me. Has anyone ever had a similar experience? Help.
Transmission replacement was declined while under warranty. I had taken my vehicle in for issues with the transmission. I brought these issues to the attention of the dealership while the vehicle was still under an extended warranty. They kept the vehicle for several weeks at a time and did not make any repairs to the transmission. My transmission continues to show signs of impending failure. I took the vehicle back in to have the issue addressed and they said that the transmission needed replacing; however, due to the extended warranty expiration, the repairs to the transmission will be at my expense. The service manager at Livermore Land Rover said that there are several notes in my service records that I had concerns with the transmission problems. I have sought an attorney. However, his suggestion is for me to take the consumer affair route first as he sees that the case is very simple. A preexisting condition is the responsibility of the car company to repair.
Appearance is nice, leather seats is a plus and is offered in a variety of models. Blue colors are the best or black can be sharp too. Many amenities, safe for families, durable, easy to work on, has great tow packages, many different varieties to choose from. Fairly inexpensive for what you get in a vehicle, fun in the snow, great in all weather, great all around vehicle. All upgrades are available and personalized to fit a persons style and lifestyle as well. Safety upgrades are a must and nice for all families. Although all in all I enjoyed this vehicle, there is not much room in it. Made taking long road trips very uncomfortable for a family of four. Feel like the vehicle is meant and made for smaller than normal people.
They started talking about new brakes before I picked up my 2016 Range Rover HSE w TD6 from the first service at 16,000 miles. For RR brakes are a large expense and as youd imagine they dont recommend changing the pads alone but, rather, pads and rotors always. Sure. The RR is a heavy vehicle. Others such as Ford and others design heavy commercial trucks with reliable braking systems that do not require this type of maintenance. For me, I consider the mention of brake replacement when current brakes measure plenty of life left to be nothing short of the dealer set-up priming you for a big expense down the road. Same thing happened on my previous Sport. Then I carried to a reliable repair shop who replaced rotors and pads for $880 compared to the then-$2200 quoted by RR dealer. So in the end owner sat is heavily influenced by the dealer and their ethics and response to issues. Read other reviews. The vehicles are solid, beautiful, functional and smart. Some of the dealers arent. Beware. Choose your dealership wisely.
After 2 1/2 years of leasing my Land Rover LR4, my car began to die. It was towed to Larchmont Land Rover who were not professional and could not get me a loaner; although they offered to pay for me to go to enterprise, I refused. After a week, they were unable to find a problem and then finally said they put in a 2nd battery back up. About 28 days later, my car wouldnt start. Now we decide to use White Plains Land Rover; even bigger mistake because after changing the battery, we also needed a new halogen light which we were advised would be covered under warranty and then later was advised it wasnt and had to pay $200. I was shocked that the service manager wouldnt even go half with me since THEY misinformed me. In the end, he refused the service to me; he should have accepted his mistake and ate the loss but no, instead he was very unhappy that we never used them to service our car for things like an oil change; and why would I do that and pay double for an oil change when I can go anywhere else for less. HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE... I really enjoyed the drive and interior of LR4 but WILL NEVER AGAIN GET ANOTHER ONE!!
Numerous problems with turbo not engaging. Several trips to dealership for computer resets etc. ** from the sales/service folks. Still left hanging in traffic with accelerator pressed, no response, then kick in and thrown back in seat. Most dangerous vehicle ever. Horns continuously blowing because I wont go at stop lights. Random overhead lights come on for no reason. If your brakes get close to 50% worn, you must replace the rotors! So Im about $1k into brakes at 34000 miles. Pretty is all its got going for it. Place that sold it to me for 41k offered me 31k 10000 miles later. And it still wont accelerate! Waiting on recall or to invoke the Lemon Law. Land rover service is so far behind BMW as to be in another category altogether. The L for luxury actually stands for Lemon when it comes to Evoque! I want my $$$ back!
Land Rover is an amazing experience. If you are looking for a classy vehicle, professionally looking and always keeps you on edge and comfortably. The appearance is sexy and elegant all at the same time. Combination between professional and powerful. The smokey gray is to die for. The Land Rover has a lot of space with a full upgrade of electronic. Bluetooth capable, automatic seats, a lot of great things come from this car. It has a very nice space for 5 people with a lot of leg room. Its absolutely amazing for a road trip with the luggage and car space.
Land Rovers Range Rover is classy looking, fun to drive and a gorgeous vehicle. There are top of the line options available and comes in several colors. I prefer the white, such an eye catcher. I am thrilled with the looks of this vehicle. They are also available in standard and upgraded models. The upgrades are well worth the extra expenses to add to this vehicle. I love the options of heated seats and temperature controllers. This vehicle has lots of legroom and can seat numerous passengers very comfortably. I love the way you dont feel like you are sitting jumbled together. Also, manufacturer is easy to work with during the sale and maintenance process. Its well worth the money it costs to purchase. I would highly recommend this manufacturer and vehicle to anyone looking for this type of sub vehicle.
My $75k car broken down after 2 days of ownership. This is my 3rd day of ownership for this brand new 2017 Range Rover Sport car and I have already experienced a multitude of problems. I left the dealership with a full tank, but today the car said my tank was empty even though I only drove 160 miles according to odometer. I called the dealer and was asked to drive to dealership for a checkup. My dealer (Encino CA) is 26 miles away, so I decided to drive to Pasadena Land Rover (1 mile away) for a quick checkup. Then, out of nowhere, my car stalled 4 times in the middle of road on the way to the dealership. I almost got into accident because the car stalled while I was turning in an intersection!Once again, my Range Rover stalled at dealer’s parking spot which happened to be at an incline. The car (switched to?) neutral and I began to slide backwards. Although I was screaming for help because I was losing control my car, the service guy took his sweet time. He nonchalantly told me to keep pressing on the break. However, because of how heavy the car is and I was stationed at an incline it took a considerable amount of strength to press the break in order to make sure the car stayed still. My foot was holding the break for five minutes before the dealer finally approached me. I almost lost my strength to hold on break because my foot was shaking from the amount of force I was using to push the break. I almost attempted to press the panic button.Instead of driving a brand new car, I felt that I was driving some 50-year-old car. Even with its advanced safety features, the system still failed me and I could have gotten into a fatal accident. No one should have to deal with these issues, especially if the car is brand new and you have only driven for a couple of days. Overall, the Range Rover Sport 2017 is an unreliable car and Land Rover has bad service. Don’t buy this car or any cars from this company.
Driveshaft broke on my 2003 Land Rover Discovery. There is a recall for the 2003 Range Rover for the same problem, same year for the truck but the recall doesnt exist for the Discovery! Numerous complaints are all over the internet regarding the same issue! Land Rover refuses to do anything about it. In fact, the person I spoke to at Land Rover said Im not really sure what you should do?” really?I reported a complaint to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) who will investigate the number of problems and complaints with the hopes of having a recall issued. I am not very happy with Land Rover!
I purchased a 2016 Range Rover and returned the Range Rover Sport about 10 times to have the navigation system repaired due the wrong directions that the system produced. I am a realtor and need use of the nav all day and all week. I have to use my iPhone for directions and when customers are call me all day, I cant see my nav on my phone. The salesman told me that the navigation and equipment was the best you can get and after paying $88,000 for the Range Rover Sport I found that friends of mine who purchased $25,000 cars had navigation systems that put mine to shame! The dealer and the CORPORATE office didnt care. A matter of fact, the unit was so bad that they change the system completely in the 2017 due to the many problems but they wouldnt admit it or make me happy by putting a 2017 unit in its place. Also the cost to maintain the automobile is extremely expensive. Dont think about buying a Range Rover before you read the 1000s of complaints.
I purchased a 2008 Range Rover HSE. Car started making loud rapping sound from engine compartment. No warning or service lights are on. Had car towed to where all service had been done, Land Rover of North Hills in Pittsburgh. Was told that no oil registered on dipstick and that low oil light was now on but no service reminder light is on. Check of records shows last oil service was done there 40,000 miles/16 mo. ago. Inspection of car at dealer shows oil full 10,000 mi/5 mo ago. Advised to get new engine at my expense. I feel dealer/manufacturer bear some responsibility because service light/low oil light never came on and argue that most customers have several cars and rely on these lights to keep track of service intervals. Dealer and Land Rover International feel you cannot rely on the lights and have to keep track of service intervals and oil level yourself.
I bought a Range Rover Sport HST 2022 a few months ago. Has been in the shop for the last month. Dealership has put several hundred miles on the vehicle in road test. They cannot give me a return date for my vehicle. Cant believe I spent over a 100k on this vehicle and it doesnt even make it to 5k miles. Definitely a lemon, and the customer service is horrible. (Wanted to give 0 stars, site wouldnt allow it)
I know I marked Happy with RR Evoque because I love everything about this car. I just had a very unfortunate incident and after being on your website I noticed someone in UT had a similar incident. This one could have left me paralyzed, but it didnt and I just want answers. 2013 RR Evoque, parked in my driveway that is about a 1-2% incline. Placed in park, car was on, not moving. Went to check mail with door open, noticed back tire rolling back. Ran to car to try to catch the brake with right foot. Could not reach brake as momentum was building with car moving down driveway. Fell on back, tried to brace door with left leg and realized the car was in gear!! Car wish-boned my legs over my head and door ran over me. Car rolled across street into deep ditch, caught by two trees and was stopped. I hobbled over to car after two face plants into street as I felt hamstrings snap! I entered car, was in a little shock so I did not even look at or remember what gear car was in, I just put it in drive and it drove out.
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is heavy and so it makes it easier. lts safe and sturdy and therefore easier to drive. The dash, lights and buttons are informative and driving is safer for me. I like the solid feel of the vehicle. It makes me feel safer in traffic. I like the height I can drive at and it sets down five inches when we stop so I can get in and out easier. However, the interaction of the signal in the tires is inconsistent and worries me sometimes. Also the GPS system is too expensive to update so it is 8 years old and not reliable.
I purchased my 2017 Discovery new with only 11 miles, and loved the car except that the backup camera works only periodically, the audio works only when when it wants to. I now have 34,000 miles and have extreme shaking upon applying brakes. I’m told I need new back wheel brakes at the tune of $1,000 and if shaking continues, I’ll need new front brakes as well for that same amount. I’m told this is not a manufacturers defect so not covered under warranty :(. I’ll be selling this lemon and never purchase a Rover again. I’ll also not recommend that any friends or acquaintances purchase a rover. This is my first and last rover.
I’m not going to spend my life writing this review (I’ve already spent too much time taking my car back and forth to the dealership with no solution). But I wanted to confirm everything that all of the other reviewers have shared regarding the Infotainment issues is 100% true. I hate this car. Spent close to $150K out the door and the infotainment system in my cheap $10K leased Chevy volt is 100% bug-free. What irony. Don’t buy this product until they have absolutely fixed everything that is wrong with this. This severely devalues this car’s worth.
We leased a 2018 Range Rover Sport in September of 2018. The car had around 3,200 miles on it because it was used as a service loaner (which our salesman found odd) but they sold it as new. We had issues the day we purchased the vehicle. It wouldnt let me sign into the InControl through the car. It gave an error saying it was their issue and it would be fixed. So we figured this happens with technology and gave it 24 hours to see if the issue would be resolved. It didnt resolve itself. Then two days later the climate screen goes black. Its now almost February 2019 and the climate screen still goes black after 4 service attempts and multiple updates, part replacement, etc. Weve also had two occasions where the car put itself into Restricted Performance only to find out a hose collapsed and needed to be replaced. Then the dealership didnt reset the adaptations and it did it again less than 48 hours after bringing it home so I had it towed back to the dealership.Theyve also already replaced one of the air compressors for the air suspension and I feel like they already need to replace more as Im still having issues with it. They had it for over a week and we are still having issues. Im extremely frustrated with this car and Im even a little scared to put my kids in it and drive it because I never know what kind of tech error is going to happen next.I will never buy one of these vehicles again. At this point I just want my money back to pretend like it never happened. I cant spend the next 3 years with this car taking it into the dealership every month to get an update that may or may not fix the issues Im having. Dont even bother with corporate. Some of them are really nice, but they dont get back to you in a timely manner. In fact, Ive even been hung up on when I was talking calmly but expressing my frustration. Super unprofessional to deal with. They also take WAY too long to go through the Lemon process. I would not recommend this car. They are very pretty but have one too many issues.
Range Rover, less than a year old, was broadsided by a red light runner (no injuries). Eleven months later, its still in the shop being repaired due to delayed parts shipments, wrong parts sent, and complete lack of interest by Land Rover in any customer assistance.
I am a student in the United States. I wanted to purchase a car from the local retailer in Richmond, Virginia. They refused to sell me a car just because I am a student but I felt it was a race discrimination. They kept asking me from where I am getting my money. I wanted to purchase a car for my own use while I am here in the United States for the duration I am studying. They started asking me personal question like from where will you get your money. For the past three months I have not gotten an answer from them. I went to visit the dealership again but they asked me to provide a 6 months bank statement. I am not sure why would they want one since I am not financing the car (I cant get a finance since I am an international student). They have been giving me a really hard time. There is no law within the United States that would prohibit me from purchasing a car. I currently own a jeep and would really like to add a Range Rover in the family. I hope I can hear from you soon and help me out with this situation.
Purchased 2016 Evoque brand new. Check Engine light came on at 397 miles on the car. Took in for service, dealer fixed it and car was with dealer for 2 days. Drove under 100 miles, Check Engine light on Again. Back to dealer for repair. Dealer kept it again for few days and fixed issue. Drove 200 miles again and check engine light on again. This time dealer kept the car for 2 weeks. After lots of phone calls to manufacture and dealer they agreed to replace my vehicle for another Evoque. Happy customer again... But guess what. Drove replacement car for about a month with under 900 miles check engine light ON. Very unhappy with truck so far and Would Not Recommend it to anyone Buy IT. Look around, you will find better Quality cars around.
After numerous emails to the CEO they’ve never gotten back to me. My mothers car was stolen due to the poor technology that these cars are built with! All I’ve asked is that all range rovers sold need to have a contract stating how easy it is to steal! So the future owner knows their risk! That it only takes 90 seconds to steal a £40k plus car!!! I’m DISGUSTED how I’ve been treated! I believe the answer now is to do a peaceful protest outside showrooms to Stop People buying their terrible cars!
Ive had my 2017 Range Rover Sport for almost 1 year now and if it werent for their lousy InControl dashboard entertainment/electronics system, I would consider this to be the best car Ive ever owned. NOT. It is so frustrating to wait for the system to boot up. Sometimes its 10 seconds, sometimes its 30 seconds, sometimes NOT AT ALL. Sometimes my volume control is stuck at one level. Oftentimes the InControl signs me out of the system which disengages traffic updates and makes you log back in which is cumbersome and not intuitive to say the least (again)! The app works 50% of the time. When it doesnt work it tells you to drive the car and then try again. Really? $95k for this vehicle? I feel for the dealership service technicians because they take the brunt of all complaints with the Land Rover perpetrators hiding in the background refusing to take responsibility for this issue. Fix the problems guys! There is absolutely no excuse for this. Just really bad management, people who just dont care about the consumer. Advice: Dont buy.
I was very satisfied with my purchase. I also loved the salesman who sold me the car. I had it customized to my specifics and was very happy about it. I would not add any specific details as is looks great. Im very happy with the look of the car. The size of the car is very huge and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this car to others because of the size of the car. I really do love and enjoy it very much.
After spending time deciding on an upgraded SUV, I was compelled to the Land Rover Discovery Sport. I felt that the brand name would mean quality and high technology. I was very very wrong. The 2019 model still does not even support Apple Car Play - this feature has been available in much lesser quality vehicles for many years. The website leads you to believe that 2017 models onwards were equipped.... this is incorrect. After leaving the dealership, I learned that my vehicle was having a technology issue as the incontrol element would not work and I could not start my vehicle remotely. After 1.5 months, after bouncing me around from person to person - they finally updated tele-metrics. I was told this would update the system and Car Play would be uploaded. They even asked me the brand of my phone for the update. They sent me home with the phone still not connected and said to call customer service. Which after again being bounced around - 2 weeks later they have told me 3 times that car play update needs to be completed and 4 times that my car is not eligible. I am blown away at the lack of support, lack of knowledge of their own product, lack of follow up and incredibly outdated technology for a $48,000 2019 car. I would suggest avoiding Land Rover as they are clearly a mess. The vehicle itself is incredibly sluggish and very basic in terms of finished and quality. I regret my decision to leave the big 3 in search of quality and new technology as Land Rover is clearly behind the times. Let’s face it - if Land Rover employees don’t even know what the brand offers and websites are misleading, clearly the vehicle quality matches.
Range Rover Evoque - Car lost power on the highway going uphill. The dealership said I had a blown turbo charger and the car had 57k miles on it so it was not under warranty. $4k later & two weeks in the shop I have the car back and am nervous to drive it. Ive also had both front headlights blow out during a nasty snow storm & dealership had no idea why. Good thing that happened under warranty or else I would have had to pay. The car is dangerous and there should be a suit against Land Rover.
When I called Land Rover USA for assistance with an active recall for a cracked fuel tank flange on my Land Rover I was given an incorrect information and the infinite runaround ending with Land Rover USA representative hanging up the call. Despite the dangers of of a faulty Land Rover part that causes a fuel leak, Land Rover USA offered incoherent and incorrect information followed by endless bureaucratic indifference. Horrific service.
This is a great car. The drive is safe and smooth. The inside of the car is detailed with everything needed except there is not one place to put sunglasses! For a car in this price range you would expect there to be a slot or compartment for sunglasses. The button for the trunk is in the worst place - never even knew where it was! Near your knee, under the steering wheel. And the button the release the hood is even lower. Very bad placement- The location where we take our Rovers for service Is located in Thornhill Ontario Canada. It is awful! The service department is unorganized and unreliable.
My Range Rover Sport April 2018 sustained a minor rear end shunt on the 14 May and since then the vehicle has been off road because the tailgate will not remain closed and Land Rover cannot provide a replacement or indeed give any indication of when the relevant parts will be available, I know they are called off road vehicles but this is taking the term too literal. Should manufacturers be allowed to sell vehicle and then fail to keep them on the road due to lack of back up. Don’t buy a Land Rover.
I am a British Citizen, working and living in Austria. As such, I decided to buy a British car, a Range Rover Sport Hybrid Autobiography Dynamic. What made me choose this car was due to the fact the advertised fuel efficiency figure of combined 6.2 litres per 100 km. I ordered this car back in September 2015 from Austria, and got the car delivered to me in mid January 2016. I was very excited to get the car, however this excitement quickly turned into a nightmare the more I drove the car.Having driven over 9000 km since I got the car, I notice that the average fuel consumption is more like 12 litres per 100km, which is nearly double the advertised combined figure for fuel efficiency of 6.2 litres. Not only did I pay a premium to get a hybrid car, but also I will end up paying twice more for the fuel. I am thinking of getting in touch with news channels, my lawyer, and create website blog regarding what I call scandalous situation with great misleading information from Land Rover that made me buy this car, which fails to deliver on the fuel efficiency. I write as a last attempt to the Land Rover UK to see if somebody at Land Rover UK is willing to take some responsibility on this matter, to accept that Land Rover made a mistake with the advertised fuel efficiency figures for this hybrid car. Bottom line; what I am hoping to achieve is to be able to return this car, or Land Rover to take some responsibility in this matter, and compensate me for the losses I will incur say over 10 years of running this car (which I in detail calculated in the below email trail, and around 24K Euros).
BUYER BEWARE!!! Horrible Customer Service, rude, intentionally evasive and misleading!!!! Discounts quoted changes without explanation hoping the buyer won’t notice. When asked they lie, become evasive and simply make it hard to do business with. Be careful when dealing with Seth and Devin.
I own a 2016 Range Rover Evoque. Three days after I drove it off the lot, the engine light came on. A call to their service center resulted in being told to drive it for a week and see if it resets itself. Well, a week later and it didnt so I called back. Within the time frame of the engine light and the servicing, the trunk wouldnt close properly one day (kept bouncing back up) and upon closer look, I notice the latch was chewed up from it forcing itself closed. The Evoque went in for servicing and came out with no engine light and the dealership telling me it had to go into a body shop for 2 days to fix the trunk latches, which apparently arent aligned properly (translation: they lack a proper QA process on their assembly line). A few hours after I got the car back, the engine light came back on. I called the dealership back and was told that the issue is part of a problem that Land Rover hasnt sent a fix for. Great. So since buying the car, Ive had the engine light on and the trunk doesnt close properly. It was scheduled to go in for servicing at the body shop today or tomorrow but the service folks wont tell me what day. I STILL cannot get in touch with them - leaving multiple messages results in nothing. No call back. Nothing. So I have no idea what is going on. And as if all of this wasnt enough, last week we had rain. Yes. Rain. But apparently a Range Rover doesnt like rain. At 2:00 in the morning, I was awoken by the car beeping twice every 10 seconds. I actually thought the alarm was going off, but unlocking and locking the vehicle didnt stop it. When I walked up to the car, the beeping stopped, but the trunk started to open and close, repeatedly, in the pouring rain. I had NO idea what was happening. A quick google search told me it was the sensors for the trunk, and that RAIN does this. Imagine that - RAIN. So I decided to back the car up as close to my porch to try to protect it from the rain, but this didnt stop it. Horn going back off. Its now 2:45 AM. I have an 8 AM meeting. My neighbors are telling me theyre going to take a ** baseball bat to the car if I dont shut it up. So when I approach it (within a meter) the trunk starts to open again, but because its so close to the house, it cant open all the way and then it BEEPS to tell me it cant and then closes. This is no joke. I cant even get off the porch to get into the car to stop it because the stupid trunk opening wont let me. I had to climb OVER the side of the porch and garbage cans to get off the porch (in the pouring rain in the middle of the night in my pajamas) to get into the car. Starting it stopped nothing. So I tried to tape garbage bags over the sensors to protect them - nope. Didnt work. At 3:00 in the morning, I had to drive my brand new 2016 Range Rover Evoque 20 minutes north of my house to an industrial area with no houses so it could beep to its hearts content. I was soaking wet, frozen and exhausted, and I sat in the car until 6:10 AM when the rain decided to ease up enough that the car would shut up. Then I drove back home, showered and went to work. Do you know what the dealerships response was? Remove the fuse for the horn. THIS is what they tell me to do. I drove my Mazda 3 for 7 years and didnt have a single problem with it. Ive owned this Evoque for 2 1/2 months and its been a nightmare. I expect the issue to be FIXED, or give me another damn Evoque sans issues. But dont tell me to drive with an engine light on and remove the fuse for my horn to solve problems. These should NOT be my problems to solve. Its BRAND NEW. So no - do not buy a vehicle because they have issues and the servicing and customer service is absolutely dreadful.
Had excessive noise from engine since purchasing this from the dealer in 2014. Several adjustments made but timing chain never replaced. Chain slipped off and 7 cylinders are bent. Engine is a complete write-off. Wonder how much Land Rover will cover the cost. Should be a complete engine replacement given the documented history and regular oil changes. Love the power and finishes on the vehicle. Apparently the timing chain is a known issue according to mechanics that have worked on this model in the past.
Our Range Rover Sport 2015 with 47,000kms under 3 years old goes into limp mode and JLR service says it needs a new engine. Although still under warranty they refuse to replace the engine, firstly they say we put the wrong oil in it...this is tested and proven incorrect. Next they say warranty is refused because you cannot supply the entire service history (we purchased vehicle from an auction). We finally track down the original owner and provide the entire service history which is in the perimeters of warranty terms. Still JLR press on for statutory declarations and proof of genuine parts. This goes on for 8 months while JLR try their hardest to squirm their way out of honouring the Warranty. After 8 long months without our vehicle and being treated with distain by JLR Customer Support we finally got a new engine which we were always entitled to. In summary nice comfortable car to drive but will Never buy another Range Rover or product from JLR...Pick up your game JLR, build vehicles that last and have a really good look at your customer service practices.
Ive owned a Land Rover Velar 2018 less than a month. After 2 weeks of ownership the computer infotainment system failed. I couldnt defrost my window, heat my car, defrost my window for 15 minutes of terrifying-driving. My husband is paralyzed and has a hard time regulating his temperature. This was horrible, as he was shivering all the way home. Just a horrible experience after just spending $67k. Im told by my service adviser that others just pull over, get out, lock the car, and let it sit for 20 mins. Some go shopping, run errands. Then it re-boots. That doesnt work for me if Im driving at night from my moms house where it is more rural, like I was when this happened. I like the car, but will absolutely not pay this price for a car when I only have 500 miles on this car, owned for 2 weeks and caused a horrible experience the first week. Its pretty scary when a lot of your controls are operated by this software where they dont have a fix?We researched the UK forum after this horrific experience and realized this an ongoing issue in the UK. Why wasnt this disclosed to us? Im so upset for spending the money on a car that has been sitting in the service department and they rented me a car that is not comparable at all. Im still paying on this car and put a huge down payment on this car. Very disappointed. I have owned at least 8 Range Rovers with my family and Im so disappointed with this experience. I have definitely contacted RR Corporate.
I got my first new Land Rover, a Freelander 2 TD4 manual, in 2011. I’ve read the stories, I know about the unreliability. Consequently, I was a bit surprised that it took 18 months and 50,000 miles before an engine warning light came on. Land Rover were out within half an hour, diagnosed it as a faulty sensor and got it fixed right away. At just over 2 year and about 75,000 miles, it came up with a message that there was a rear diff ECU fault which was quickly fixed under warranty. At 90,000 miles I passed it to a colleague who has taken it over 165,000 miles and counting and he’s needed a new rear diff and it’s first clutch. He’s still running it and has no plans to replace it. I don’t think that’s at all bad; perhaps all those who write one star reviews might see it differently?I then moved on to a 12,000 mile and one year old version of the same thing. Over the next year and 35,000 miles, it went about its business with just one odd fault - every week or so, the car would stutter for half a moment under power; nothing dangerous, or even annoying, just a characteristic really. I complained about it anyway and when Land Rover admitted that they had no fix, they made a generous offer to subsidise a swap for another FL2, but a top of the range SD4 automatic this time. That car was a complete gem and loved it to bits, without a single fault over the following 12 months/35,000 miles. However, I had a complete rush of blood to the head and stupidly traded in for a brand new Discover 4. Surely, this money pit had to be my undoing? Nope. The nicest car I’d has to date, with the only “fault” being squeaky rear brakes that were easily fixed. Unfortunately, Land Rover then introduced the nasty new Discovery 5 and I panicked. I had wanted to keep the Discovery 4 for a while, but decided to buy one of the last new D4’s before it was too late. Unfortunately, it was already too late. But, I did manage to trade my 1 year (and, you’ve guessed it) 35,000 mile old D4 in for a beautiful green 12,000 mile old D4 HSE Luxury...Which was very nice. However, after adding another 20-25,000 miles or so, it broke down. This time it was off the road for a month while they had to diagnose and replace a, very dead, high pressure fuel pump. It’s a big, body off, job to replace. Very expensive and very time consuming, no doubt, but why should I care? It was all done under warranty and they kept me in nice loaners too. When I spoke to Land Rover about the amount of time it took, they completely blew me away! They asked me what my dream Land Rover was and they then subsidised an extraordinarily large amount of money to make a top of the range Range Rover vaguely affordable and weapons grade “man maths” bridged the remaining gap!8 Months and 24,000 miles later, I’m chuffed to bits with my Range Rover SDV8 and wouldn’t part with it for any other car in the world. All being well, I’d like to hang on the this until well past 250,000 miles. In conclusion, the cars have been brilliant, the build quality has been superb and the reliability has been well up to the mark. Where things have gone wrong, Land Rover have been first rate and have gone above and beyond in restoring my faith in them. I have no wish to go elsewhere.
Ranger rover evoque 2014 - Just got this vehicle few months back. Dealership at Flatiron tried to sell us with extra tags... but thats another story which was the start of the poor customer service. So vehicle was working perfectly until we took it back to the center for some updates they called us for with a letter. We get the car back, door floor lights stopped lighting and after one day car wont start altogether. Wed call the same service center and he tells he doesnt have time and I will have to wait 7 days for them to see the issue. (This is the place we got the car and they did the update.) We called another service center, they were ready to see the car. So now we are responsible to get the car at the service station. Called roadside assistance and they were not able to find a towing company. Spoke with them several times. No use. 3 days I am sitting home with car standing on the side of the road outside my house. No assistance, no spare car offered. Just scared what if I was stuck at on a highway or middle of nowhere. Highly disappointed. Rethinking my decision to buy Land Rover. Really questioning the premier tag on Land Rover... is it true?
It is a very unique vehicle. Runs smooth and has great electronics inside as well. Very keen to high speed and great performance. It has blue and black covering on it, has rugged tires, dim lights and great gauges. It has very sturdy, safety tested body as well. It has a great design of smooth texture interior, and has silk on the roof top and dim windows. I added hydraulics and blue lights to make it look cool and added cherry color to the top of the hood to give it my own unique design. It holds up to 6 people comfortable with ample leg room and great arm stretch, and it has a place to put ear plugs so passengers can listen to music. I would tell my friends and family about this vehicle because it gives off a great look and nice ride.
My 2008 Land Rover LR2 is been a bad vehicle. The cooling fan went out and the motor loses power. I almost got into an accident and every person that has this vehicle have the same problems and also the front air bags, theres something wrong with them.
Had an accident right front bumper. I think messed up suspension. Happened same time. Broke parking light - damage behind that light caused plastic to touch tire. Crinkled rubber on outside of wheel well. Cost to repair? I love my 2005 LR3!
In May 2019 I leased a 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport from Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton. Several issues occurred with the management of the lease and the transition did not occur with ease. I was charged a few thousand dollars more than the accepted offer but the dealership was reluctant to take responsibility or explain the difference. I was excited about driving the vehicle so I let these things go. Unfortunately in June 2019 I started having issues with the vehicle so I instead travelled to Jaguar Land Rover Calgary to rectify my issues there to hopefully gain a different experience. Some issues were resolved (bearings, water pump) after extensive persistence on my part but there was a reoccurring issue with the transmission. I took the vehicle in 5 times and nothing was resolved. I involved Jaguar Land Rover North America on three separate occasions for assistance when the vehicle got worse, and other events occurred. The vehicle became less reliable to drive and on July 29, 2020 I experienced severe jerking, struggles to change gears, mis-shifting, and slipping of the gears. It was of great concern. The vehicle was towed back to Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton and I was told there was “nothing wrong with the vehicle” by the General Manager. Another manager told me “that is how discovery sports drive.” I know others that drive discovery sports and they have had zero issues. @Landrover North America told me “the vehicle was repaired” but all that was done is the factory settings were reset. They didn’t look at the transmission nor did a Foreman drive the vehicle. I was told by others outside the dealership and the manufacturer that it was a transmission problem. I wonder, do they want to duplicate the issue? I asked for a new vehicle because of all the issues but instead Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton and Jaguar Land Rover North America threatened to tell the bank I abandoned the vehicle if I did not pick it up. The General Manager in Edmonton told me “I am not losing money on that vehicle. It is a bad investment.” Yet they leased me the vehicle. The vehicle had been previously purchased by another and returned with 400km. My lawyer sent a demand letter to Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton and Land Rover North America to try and find a resolution but they ignored the Letter. They just kept passing blame onto each other. Lawyers told me it could cost me thousands of dollars to make them accountable but my lease would be close to done before that likely happened. @Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) could not help me due to a “gap in the legislation.” I have not driven the vehicle since the incident occurred in July 2020 but I am still making full payments. It has been in my garage since it was towed back from Edmonton but it was returned with a broken mirror. After reviewing my options, I decided to reach out to the VP at Go Auto Luxury Platform who owns the Edmonton and Calgary dealerships to try find a Win Win solution. After several emails and a telephone conversation he agreed in several emails to lease me a new vehicle for list price and no penalty for returning my other vehicle. He sent me all the details and price of the car. I confirmed there were no other amounts I would need to pay. I travelled to Edmonton from Red Deer to test drive the vehicle to ensure it was what they say it was. When I agreed to the vehicle the price of the vehicle showed up approximately $5, 500 more than list price. If I didn’t notice it then they would have gotten away with charging me more again. The VP at Go Auto later told me it was the “short fall” in my current lease, which is a penalty. I offered to meet him halfway and pay half of the penalty (short fall) but he will not negotiate further and unless I pay the penalty, have larger lease payments, and sign a new lease for another 42 months, I am stuck with a vehicle that looks pretty in my garage. I am told it still has too much left on the lease to do anything about it. Land Rover North America stopped corresponding with me and do not take responsibility for the vehicle and Jaguar Land Rover Edmonton and Go Auto have also not returned my emails. I feel unsafe driving the vehicle and I certainly will not place my grandbaby in the vehicle and take the chance of something happening. I am hoping they will honour their agreements. In advocating for myself in the past five months I have been gaslighted, lied to, threatened, and now ignored. I am a social worker and now I only hope I can advocate for others so this does not happen to them.
Range Rover 2015 sport - Car lost steering power while I was driving with only 3,000 miles. I couldnt turn the wheel at all. Problems with the battery, it was replaced once and continues to drain and shows low battery every other week. New car with lots of problem. Im trying to return it and get my money back. IT is a true lemon. Beautiful to look at, but cant trust it anymore.
2019 Velar Safety Issues. Be very wary. The quality of the range rovers has dramatically decreased and, in my opinion, pose a safety issue. I have had the following issues that have gone unfixed because range rover does not know how to fix their own vehicle. - Back hatch closes without prompt and does not stop when it hits something (someone). I have been personally trapped in the hatch several times. - Infotainment center (all displays) lock up and do not reset when the car is turned off. Resets after 4+ hours. This is a big issue since the entire display unit is tied to this. You cannot change or see speed, air temp, etc. - Differential issues - locked up differential that the dealership insists is how the car drives!- Bad fan motor - sounds like an airplane.I have video proof and range rover insists on not fixing the issue because they cannot replicate it.
I have had my Land Rover LR2 for 6 months. It has cost me several thousands of dollars in repairs now and has never completely run without an issue. Its a 2008 with 50k miles. No one, including Land Rover certified technicians, can issue me any sensible answer to this horrible vehicle I am now stuck with. I should have bought a KIA.
Its my second purchase of a Range Rover. The first was excellent but the second is junk! The car (2015 Range Rover) was fine until it went in for the second service to the Miami dealership. It had normal service plus tire rotation, balance and alignment. It took 3 days which is absurd for 4-5 hours of work. They delivered it back to me and I drove it that night. When it reached 65mph it began shaking and I mean shaking apart. How could it go in perfect and come out a mess with 12k miles? After the second attempt to repair the problem, I was told I had an out of round tire. I was very confused. I called the tire manufacturer and they were more confused than me. They said for the sequence of what had taken place thus far, it was impossible. Still no smooth ride so it went in again. I started thinking about how when I accelerate from a stop into a turn, it seems that one of the tires jerks sometimes. This began when the car was new. When I spoke to my service writer, he had the service manager ride with me and just by chance it did the jerking motion again. The manager said it was normal traction control. Why did I dismiss it so quickly? Im not the expert is the true answer. Did that cause the out of round tire? Now it jerks all the time and shakes at 65mph and higher speeds. To make a long story short, Ive used the Lemon Law of the state consumer protection laws. The dealership had another attempt to repair but it has only gotten worse. I then met with the GM who agreed it doesnt ride smooth. Get new tires and bring it in for a trade was his advice. So I did and the deal for the trade was an additional $8000 and my lease payment went up to $2100. I just stood up and walked out. Thank goodness I saved every email to corporate, which by the way was worthless. 35 emails with proof of dealership lies, the invoices of five attempts, every text message and voicemail backed up with the AT&T bills, 3 witnesses and a law degree is the backup I have. The state and I will send a message to Land Rover loud and clear.
Many reviews on this site of problems with the infotainment system. This is a known problem with Range Rover and Velar. I have had very weak digital radio signal in my 2017 Evoque, considerable interference on FM radio, phone drops, and forget about getting reliable service between the phone/USB/Bluetooth and playing music. Press a song in the playlist and another appears! Crackling speakers during robust music and album artwork all mixed up between artists. Frozen screeching screen! All fine on the phone when connecting to other cars! There is a disconnect between the touchscreen and the IMC (the computer under your seat). All software updates have failed to fix the problem. How is Range Rover getting away with not doing a recall? AVOID until they sort it!
In my last night traveling in TX I was packing my Range Rover EVOQUE. I was carrying a case of water and I tried opening the back door of the vehicle using my leg since this vehicle has a sensor that will open the door passing the leg on the corner. As I tried opening I felt like if someone touch me with a super hot object. I looked down and didnt see much at first but the next day I had a big bubble in my leg filled with liquid. It looks horrible now. I feel like I have been marked for life :(. I want awareness for owners, this could be really dangerous. Does anyone know how can I put a complaint?
Many different types that will suit everyones needs. Very versatile. Customizable which is great perfect fits for everyone. I love how it looks like a nice classic car, without being too overly ostentatious. Suitable for everyday life. You can basically build your own car which I find the most satisfying. I find that this is the most comfortable car I have gotten since its built just for me. This vehicle is very spacious, but not overly big. Holds all my family very well and we even have space left to spare. The trunk is of a decent size as well which I love. Best car I have ever owned.
When I got my Land Rover Discovery, it was used and it wasnt exactly a good looking car but the features were top quality. It drove very smooth. Had a lot of leg room and I believe it would seat about 6 people, from front to back. Land Rover Cars are great cars. You really get a lot of car for the money. Very high quality product but The upkeep on it can be expensive. You dont account for it.
I purchased a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharge from Santa Monica Rover on November 26, 2011. 15 days later, on December, the check engine light came on. I took the car in for service at Encino Land Rover, $1,024.69 dollars later, the car was ready and running. On January 4, 2012, again the check engine light came back on again. I took it back to Encino Land Rover again on January 10, 2012, the dealership called and say its the transmission needs replace at a cost of $7,500. there was an extended warranty on this 2006 that ended on the 29th of December 2011. Need to get the repairs done on this car and need to figure out what sort of compensation can be extended.
Range Rover 2010 Sport - I love this car... Its like riding a baby pony that wants to go go go... I also own a Porsche 911 Turbo and as far as speed and agility go, the Range Rover cant be beat for an SUV. After reading some of the prior reviews, I agree that if you want to drive this car, you need to treat it like gold and have the $$$ to pay for consequences. Ive had my car in for several things that were covered under warranty but were a pain in the **. Make sure to get an extended warranty. It will pay for all the quirks and issues that definitely will happen. An oil change and tuneup will cost you upwards of $700 (warranty doesnt cover that!). And if you lose your key, be prepared to spend another $600. Im a mom with 4 kids and we all love this car... the status, the speed and the luxury... It comes with a price tag well beyond the $85,000 you spend on it though. I just had new brakes put on and another $1,900 later, am holding my breath until the next issue (maintenance or wear and tear) happens. Bottom line, this is an amazing vehicle... Land Rover needs to work on the high price tag, back charging after purchase and stop nickle and diming their loyal customers for literally everything.
The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most comfortable vehicles out there. It will also go anywhere. I love the design and comfort. I also know it is one of the most safest vehicles out there. I would highly recommend buying this vehicle. Just make sure you have a warranty on the vehicle for expensive fixes.
In 2015 I was one of first 20 people to order the Discovery Sport. I was so super happy on getting this SUV, until 1 year later the problems began. Problems I had: Front door creaking sound, exterior strips and trims came loose, crack in passenger side rear quarter window, trunk not closing evenly, AC foul smell and replaced water pump, radio/clock issues, front passenger door not opening and alarm turned on for no reason, break sounds, drivers seat back panel coming detached, and last and worst problem was the transmission failure. That did it for me! In 2 years time the car stayed in the shop for 45 days. I opened up a claim through the manufacturer and the best they could come up with was, We will compensate two months of payments and did not approve a buyback. That is not good enough. I no longer feel comfortable in driving a lemon and wont buy another car through Land Rover.
I purchased a NEW 2018 Range Rover Sport in October 2018. Right out of the gate I noticed the throttle response was delayed. When I press the gas there is a 1-2 second delay before the truck moves. When you have the wheel turned its an even longer delay and then the truck bucks and goes. According to Land Rover White Plains and Land Rover Freeport its normal. Entering the highway is playing a game of chicken. I have to time the passing cars and hit the gas early to merge and pray I dont hit someone. In November 2018 (1 month of ownership) my truck wouldnt drive. The car was on and everything was running but the transmission and gears wouldnt work. The dash said HDC FAULT, STABILITY CONTROL FAULT, TRANSMISSION FAULT & GEAR SHIFTER FAULT. I towed it to LR Freeport and they didnt have any loaner cars to give me so I had to rent a car from Hertz. Dealer said I would be reimbursed for the rental. Now LR is giving me a hard time about reimbursing me for the rental when according to my warranty and contract Im due a loaner when I bring it to service at no cost to me!! Im still fighting for reimbursement! After picking up the truck they said it needed an update. Its crazy how a little update can affect so much. Now the truck is fixed but the throttle is still horrible. The 2 center screens are delayed before turning on (1-2 minutes). The maps in the infotainment odometer doesnt turn on. The rear view camera is delayed and choppy. My sunroof makes a whistling noise (according to LR thats normal). My park distance control works when it wants and when its cold out I have to run the truck for 15-20 minutes before I can drive it otherwise the transmission bucks and revs but truck doesnt move. How can you sell something for so much money and its nothing but problems and unreliable?? The internet is FULL of bad reviews and complaints for LR.THE WORST $90k Ive ever spent!!! I feel like I was robbed! I pray someone steals it so I can rid myself of this headache!! HOW DARE LR SELL THESE EXPENSIVE CARS THAT HAVE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!! So unreliable! Get a BMW or Mercedes, save yourself the headaches! Oh and my father has a 2018 Discovery for 2 months and has had it in for service 9 times!! Looking into local lemon laws for him.
My Range Rover started smelling gas in back of it. I called the dealer and they do not have parts to take care of the recall causing the gas leak. They suggested to call Customer Service (Cristina) - They called all the dealers around my area and no parts are available. They suggested to take the car to a 3rd party shop - They could not recommend one. They escalated the call and will take 7-14 days to respond. The customer service agreed to carry the liability of having the Range Rover leaking my garage for 7-14 days. The conversation was recorded for my record. It is the worse car experience in my life.
Love this brand. There is such variety from cars, trucks, to SUV. They have every available upgrade you could also want and are happy to help you add and figure out what it is you want exactly. This is my favorite part - adding the things I knew my family would need. I love that you can add what you want to the car without a hassle like heated seats or a Bluetooth stereo. The built in tv in the headrest for my kids is perfect. Love how sleek and clean the look of this brand is. Theres always enough room for the kids as well as the groceries. Theres also plenty of room for the drivers and passengers instead of being cramped. And they have amazing customer service that is always happy to help when theres a problem or question.
Land Rover offered me a coupe and a minivan. I was happier with the minivan as me and my family needed something nice to start the new year due to our old car breaking down. My wife and I love the appearance. I love the new doors, tints, motor engine, exhaust speed. Everything about this car screams bad. I also love the amount of space this vehicle offers. It is ridiculous but needed as I have a large family. It is a very useful car and will stay in our family lineage for a long time. We will continue to buy from the vehicle manufacturer also so thats very nice. I will probably buy one for my cousin on his birthday.
Its flat out amazing. The s and r series are awesome. They are of high quality and design. Also recommend the a series as they have back up rear cameras, automatic breaks and wifi. Outstanding. Every single detail is beyond perfect. The leather throws in luxurious class combined with state of the art tech. Also the paint finishes, tinted windows and turbo are grey. I got a wheel drive and traction emergency roadside assistance, first aid kit, concealed storage, gps tracking, beats audio system, and hyper LED headlamps. Also, most Rovers have a enough room for a small family of 5. Its roomy and comfortable for all to enjoy perfect for road trips and family outings.
They only offer three models. We went with the LR4 because it had the third row but I wish it had more options for the price. I love the third row. It seats my entire family comfortably. Some third rows feel like afterthoughts and the passengers are squished in but the LR4 avoids that nicely. I also love the four wheel drive options, the cooler in the center console, and the automatics wipers. But I wish they offered DVD screens in the backseat. Also, Land Rover doesnt offer as many upgrades and personalizations as other luxury car brands but what they do offer is top of the line. The leather seats are better than other car brand leather seats.
This is not in my character to post negative comments online about something that I like (I absolutely love my 2013 Range Rover Evoque) but I was advised by a manager at a retailer that this was probably my best bet to get some sort of explanation for the recent sub-par treatment I have been experiencing from Land Rover, in particular the Huntington, NY location. On 12/15, my fiancé and I were driving when a message on the dashboard flashed and said that the front left tire needed air. So my fiancé went ahead and attempted to put air in the tire. When he unscrewed the air valve, it broke, causing the tire to become flat. We ended up putting the spare on, which caused another message to pop up saying that there was a fault in the tire sensor system and because this happened at 2300, we decided to call the dealer the next morning. On 12/16, we called the Huntington dealership where we bought the car and were told that the next appointment would not be available until next week. We called several other dealerships that day and even explained the urgency of the problem being that we work 40mi away and did not feel safe driving on the spare. We were told that there was nothing Land Rover can do for us. My fiancé explained that we are being forced to look into other options to get the original tire repaired because we cannot wait a week, and again we were told theres nothing they can do, but give us the next available appointment. We ended up getting the original tire put back on, but the dashboard kept reading that there was a fault in the tire sensor system. My fiancé then drove the car for the scheduled appointment, and waited for the problem to be fixed. However, when the service men told him that it was ready, the dashboard kept flashing the same message. He told them that message was still there and the mechanic impolitely told him to just drive the car 5 miles and the message would go away. After driving for 10mi, the message stayed the same and he drove the car back to the dealership where they decided to give us a loaner and further look into the vehicle. Now today 1/4/17, Land Rover Huntington calls my fiancé to tell him that the service that they provided is not under warranty and we have to pay $400. I called Land Rovers customer service, and spoke to a representative that told me that tires are not included in the warranty, and that because of the recent holiday season there was limited availability for service. Two things wrong here: 1. it is something wrong with the sensory system not the tire and 2. there is no need to justify unsatisfactory customer service. Im very aware that we just celebrated a recent holiday season not to mention my birthday on 12/16, when I had to initially deal with this nonsense.Unfortunately, I am nowhere near my vehicle to look at the specifics of the warranty, but I will say this: this has been one of the most insulting and dismissive customer service experiences I have ever had. I was really looking forward to stay in Land Rover family and eventually upgrade to a vehicle for a growing family, but this service is absolutely deplorable. My mother who is the owner of a Mercedes Benz has never heard of such treatment with her company and here I am being subjected to this level of service, for what is known to be a luxury vehicle.
The car is amazing! Its very standard but I havent really had any problems with it so far. It helps me get to the places I need to go without a hassle. My mom loves it! The color has a nice feel to it. I would recommend others to try it out and see if they like it because its a very good car and I dont see many people with it. Its very spacious and when I need to I can store things in it. I can have up to 5 people in the car. Its a very reliable car. I have had to put new tires on it just to keep it fresh. Overall I havent had too many upgrades but I would like to change the color up just a bit.
The brakes wear warning came on at 27100 km. I drive mostly highway and I am very light on the brakes, so when I saw the warning I ignored and thought it is false alarm. A week later, light disappeared. Drove for another week, warning brake light came on again. Kept driving, but the light stayed on. By that time I had 28000 km, so I decided to take it to my local garage and let him check the brakes.I was told that the rear brake pads are completely gone and rotors were rusted, so I asked if this is normal and mechanic answer was NO WAY. He explained that the front brakes do most of the work and to have rear brakes completely worn out is extremely unusual. He went on to say that they must have been faulty brakes. I called the dealer which is Thornhill Land Rover and talked to the service manager Sandro who told me that this is normal and depends on my style of driving, in other words SOL.I called Land Rover Canada after spending 20 min on the phone with some dim light lady. She decided after consulting with someone else that it is wear and there is nothing they can do for me. So I am sorry to say that after driving BMW for 15 years switching to Land Rover Discovery 2016 was the biggest mistake. My previous BMW all of them I drove to 65000 km and never replaced or seen brake lights come on. For all of you who are thinking or considering buying this car save your money and headache and stay away. Its a lemon and neither the company nor the dealers care.
