Purchased 2016 Evoque brand new. Check Engine light came on at 397 miles on the car. Took in for service, dealer fixed it and car was with dealer for 2 days. Drove under 100 miles, Check Engine light on Again. Back to dealer for repair. Dealer kept it again for few days and fixed issue. Drove 200 miles again and check engine light on again. This time dealer kept the car for 2 weeks. After lots of phone calls to manufacture and dealer they agreed to replace my vehicle for another Evoque. Happy customer again... But guess what. Drove replacement car for about a month with under 900 miles check engine light ON. Very unhappy with truck so far and Would Not Recommend it to anyone Buy IT. Look around, you will find better Quality cars around.

Car 16 months old to me - 29k miles only - driving in commuter traffic and had black smoke from bonnet. Took to land rover and will not honor the warranty as clutch wear was due to incorrect operation! I have had Vauxhall and Audi previously and driven over 100k miles and still no problems. So much for prestige vehicle. £1500 bill on the way!!!!!

Make no mistake, I have been a long time Land Rover fan (Im in the UK). I have had many Defenders, Range Rovers and a Disco 3. I have driven to Africa 5 times in a Defender including through the Central Sahara Desert to Niger and have another rebuilt Defender 300Tdi 110 now ready to go again. I have just sold the Disco 3 after a few problems cropped up - it was getting old anyway. We went to a local dealer, Harwoods in Lewes, East Sussex to look at an Evoque or Discovery commercial or anything else that looked suitable for a family vehicle and seeing clients. Well, yes theres a virus going round but we were told we could not enter the showroom and to go and have a look round the car park. Well the car park was full of various vehicles, maybe customers in for service or staff, who knows? By the way it was raining too. We shuffled a bit and left, rather unamused to put it mildly. If this is the best that LR can do when customers are potentially about to spend £100k GBP or more and become loyal to a brand, then they need to go back to business school. Land Rover has a criminally bad reputation for reliability and appalling customer service. Its not difficult to see why. We went to a Porsche dealer who was open, welcoming and thoroughly excellent. The older Rovers were simple and robust. Parts were good and reliable, not expensive. The newer generation ones are grossly over complicated with dodgy electronics, poor quality components (they have gone downhill for the last few years due to cost cutting as the vehicles were no longer required to be robust due to mainly be used on road, not off road). Throw in corporate complacency, inadequately trained technicians who swap assemblies (huge bills ...) rather than fault find and you have a nightmare of epic proportions. My advice is to buy another brand thats reliable and from a source where you can get personal service when buying and for servicing and not be lost in the system. In the Uk theres lot of experience of Land rovers, more than the US - you have been warned.

I bought the new Land Rover Disco in June 2018 and it has been at the dealership for more than half the time of my ownership. This is my first JLR vehicle and very disappointed. Issue with Diesel engine jerking and acts like it is stalling every morning after cold start for almost a minute - it will not let me accelerate. Big safety issue. Then there is the Infotainment system - it just hangs and the rearview camera is choppy initially - objects suddenly appear dangerously close when the camera refreshes.Dropped it off at dealer to get these issues checked - they took 1 month to supposedly resolve the issues - however they found the windshield to be leaking (on a 4 month old car). This took almost 1.5 months to arrive (heated windshield) from UK. After installing it, they found none of the electronics will power on - apparently water damage was found in both electronic controllers and they are currently replacing them. After 3.5 months I still did not get my vehicle back. With the water damage I am seriously concerned about mold and breathing it continuously through the AC system. Its a safety hazard. This is ridiculous and just bad quality control. Its a Safety and Health Hazard. JLR needs to ditch the buggy infotainment system - at some point a good business needs to realize when to cut the losses and switch to a different option.

It is a very unique vehicle. Runs smooth and has great electronics inside as well. Very keen to high speed and great performance. It has blue and black covering on it, has rugged tires, dim lights and great gauges. It has very sturdy, safety tested body as well. It has a great design of smooth texture interior, and has silk on the roof top and dim windows. I added hydraulics and blue lights to make it look cool and added cherry color to the top of the hood to give it my own unique design. It holds up to 6 people comfortable with ample leg room and great arm stretch, and it has a place to put ear plugs so passengers can listen to music. I would tell my friends and family about this vehicle because it gives off a great look and nice ride.

I have a Land Rover 2015 LR2 which Im happy with all of its features though I want to upgrade to the 2016 LR4 because I travel through mountains a lot for business. Its standard features are 4 doors 4 wheel drive, built in GPS, full stereo with CD player and hook up ports for phones and USB, heated front and rear seats and trailer hitch hookup. Really great for winter drive. You have a personalized key entry with key or thumbprint. You can program radio with a subscription to satellite radio. Rear tire hookup on back of vehicle. Plate covers included. I have a large family so this fits everyone including our dog. Me, my wife, three kids and the dog so six of us are comfortable though you could still fit one more person.

This is not in my character to post negative comments online about something that I like (I absolutely love my 2013 Range Rover Evoque) but I was advised by a manager at a retailer that this was probably my best bet to get some sort of explanation for the recent sub-par treatment I have been experiencing from Land Rover, in particular the Huntington, NY location. On 12/15, my fiancé and I were driving when a message on the dashboard flashed and said that the front left tire needed air. So my fiancé went ahead and attempted to put air in the tire. When he unscrewed the air valve, it broke, causing the tire to become flat. We ended up putting the spare on, which caused another message to pop up saying that there was a fault in the tire sensor system and because this happened at 2300, we decided to call the dealer the next morning. On 12/16, we called the Huntington dealership where we bought the car and were told that the next appointment would not be available until next week. We called several other dealerships that day and even explained the urgency of the problem being that we work 40mi away and did not feel safe driving on the spare. We were told that there was nothing Land Rover can do for us. My fiancé explained that we are being forced to look into other options to get the original tire repaired because we cannot wait a week, and again we were told theres nothing they can do, but give us the next available appointment. We ended up getting the original tire put back on, but the dashboard kept reading that there was a fault in the tire sensor system. My fiancé then drove the car for the scheduled appointment, and waited for the problem to be fixed. However, when the service men told him that it was ready, the dashboard kept flashing the same message. He told them that message was still there and the mechanic impolitely told him to just drive the car 5 miles and the message would go away. After driving for 10mi, the message stayed the same and he drove the car back to the dealership where they decided to give us a loaner and further look into the vehicle. Now today 1/4/17, Land Rover Huntington calls my fiancé to tell him that the service that they provided is not under warranty and we have to pay $400. I called Land Rovers customer service, and spoke to a representative that told me that tires are not included in the warranty, and that because of the recent holiday season there was limited availability for service. Two things wrong here: 1. it is something wrong with the sensory system not the tire and 2. there is no need to justify unsatisfactory customer service. Im very aware that we just celebrated a recent holiday season not to mention my birthday on 12/16, when I had to initially deal with this nonsense.Unfortunately, I am nowhere near my vehicle to look at the specifics of the warranty, but I will say this: this has been one of the most insulting and dismissive customer service experiences I have ever had. I was really looking forward to stay in Land Rover family and eventually upgrade to a vehicle for a growing family, but this service is absolutely deplorable. My mother who is the owner of a Mercedes Benz has never heard of such treatment with her company and here I am being subjected to this level of service, for what is known to be a luxury vehicle.

After numerous emails to the CEO they’ve never gotten back to me. My mothers car was stolen due to the poor technology that these cars are built with! All I’ve asked is that all range rovers sold need to have a contract stating how easy it is to steal! So the future owner knows their risk! That it only takes 90 seconds to steal a £40k plus car!!! I’m DISGUSTED how I’ve been treated! I believe the answer now is to do a peaceful protest outside showrooms to Stop People buying their terrible cars!

Amazing purchase, I loved it. I enjoy the fact that they have the matte black option. I love how high lifted most Land Rovers are and range rovers as well too. Land rovers can be easily customized into different colors and lifts and I recommend the leather interior as well if you decide to go with this brand. The brand Land Rover usually has at least seven rider optional to seat. I definitely recommend Land Rovers if youre looking for a lot of room and want to carry a lot of passengers, they are VERY reliable.

This is our 3rd Range Rover Sport. We have loved our previous 2 and they were great and trouble free. Soooo, we bought a 2019 Range Rover Sport Super Charged 3 months ago.... What a nightmare it has been. I hold my breath every time I start the car to see if the radio will work, I have had the alarm system just go off while in the car (that was fun)... The screens that show everything go off, the alarm on back up system went on and would not go off. The air conditioner has air coming out of it that is barely cold part of the time. I could go on. My car has been in the shop 4 times already and twice the dealership has had it for over a week.I thought maybe it was just my car, but yesterday the dealership gave me a 2019 Range Rover as a loaner to drive. So this morning I start it up and guess what???? No radio or any control on the middle dash are working. Just black screen.... What is going on Range Rover. If Kia can make a car for $20,000 and they work perfectly why cant Range Rover make a car that we paid over $100,000 work????

Land Rover LR3 Defective Suspension Compressor - Diagnostics showed original part was redesigned and suggested replacement. Contacted Land Rover. They would not replace as it was out of warranty. I told them it was not a defective part, it was a part they engineered wrong which is why the diagnostic showed that part was to be replaced with updated part. After writing, calling, etc I gave up. So I had to have local repair shop replace as the closest LR dealer was 3.5 hrs away, so 7 hrs round trip, plus two nights hotel as they said they needed 2 days. Local repair shop cost was $1,300.00 using Land Rovers updated part (dealer wanted $1,600). Land Rover does not stand by their product. Yes, vehicle was out of warranty, however, I have since learned that others have had the same problem. When I spoke with their dealer, they stated, yes they have had to replace many of these. So if you buy a Land Rover, and they have a known part that will fail eventually due to their poor engineering, you better hope it fails in warranty period.

I bought a new Range Rover Evoque in Feb 2015 only done 6000 miles and the parts are failing as if this is a prototype test model and the company does not have the courtesy to replace the car, all they are doing is replacing parts. The car has been with the dealer for 6 weeks from my ownership of 4 months. Parts replaced so far - O2 sensor, ENGINE, couple of modules, brake discs, rear bumper, doing paint job under the hood... Last I heard they are replacing some more parts. After opening an executive case also, they keep assuring me everything will be fixed without even considering a replacement.

Contacted the Range Rover Consumer help line, was advised I needed to get an estimate for repairs, and then Range Rover would then decide whether or not they would pay for repairs. I could see where this was headed, and contacted Corporate offices for assistance from a higher level. We purchased a Range Rover Sport in March 2015 and we have had issues since we bought it. License plate fell off while driving 3 times even after we took it back on day 2 of owning it and they said it wouldnt come off again. That was fun to find. Week 3 of ownership the check engine light came on. Took it in to have it serviced and was told it was just an oxygen sensor and they had fixed it. Week 4 of ownership, check engine light back on, back in for service for 3 days and they said they fixed it but may need to order an oxygen sensor if it comes back on. Week 8 of ownership I was sitting at a stop light. When the light turned green the car would not go and showed a display of put in drive (or something similar), the car was in drive. I had to shut the car off and it still wouldnt engage in drive. I put the car in low gear and got it off the road. After a little while I started the car and it went back in gear. Called the dealer and they said it would have to go completely out for them to be able to do anything and that it must have been a glitch. This happened 3 more times. Week 12 of ownership display wont respond to touch until car is off and restarted. After 6 months of owning the car the coolant low alert shows up and the check engine light is back on. Back in for service. They change the oxygen sensor and tell me that my water pump needs to be changed and that my car needed an update that would fix the display issue and the car not going into drive. Went to dealership because my car is in for service again. Thought we would trade it in to get rid of the thing. They say they cant certify it is a pre owned special because of all the issues and it will take them forever to get the issues fixed. Im losing money. An $80K car should last longer than 6 months. Why should I lose money when the car they sold me is a POC? Land Rover should pay off my car and give me back my down payment in full. I was warned that Land Rover wasnt the quality that I was looking for but I liked the car and decided to give it a chance. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Purchased a 2013 RR Evoque on 4/12/2016. Absolutely loved my vehicle. The fuel pump went out weeks after purchased. Still under warranty, fixed, no problems. Took care of my car. Had it serviced before even needed. Purchased extended warranty (5000.00). I kept calling the in control ownership and could not get it registered. It was locked on topix. At the dealership they told me nobody does that anymore. Which made no sense. Coz it tells you too. Well thats when things got weird. I brought my car in for an insurance estimate on the meridian system on 12/03/2018. They called and told me I needed a new starter and rear axle and differential. I never had a problem with either.9 weeks later Im told its ready for 13,000 dollars. They did not turn it in to warranty. Told me I have to. So he walks me out to a parking lot to my car (weird Coz they have valet at a luxury dealership). I get in the vehicle and its not mine. This was some salvaged vehicle obviously a flood vehicle. Steve ** walks out to me with a car fax report (how did he know who I was or what I was going to say). I said, where is my vehicle? He said, this is your vehicle. And told me, what you going to do about it? The police say its a civil matter but theres no contract. If that was me I would be in jail for motor vehicle theft. I have been on a year long pursuit to find my vehicle. He has wiped all my service records and the 5000.00 warranty doesnt exist. Motor vehicle has 15 entitle changes with 4 vehicle Ids. I went to level 123 inspections to find out its under investigations. Attorney General never even looked at the paper of evidence and took 6 months for a response from the dealer that altered all entitles. No response from corporate. I recently discovered that car was from copart salvage auction. Steve ** was pulled over for taking flood damaged cars. So beware of and Land Rover vehicle. And do not consider car fax. They have changed the vehicles origin, service and mileage 3 times. In the meantime I continue my search for my vehicle so this Corp. can be sold for their business tactics. The vehicle was for sale in California at fast track auto while I was the owner. Its called cloning.

2012 Range Rover Evoque - I purchased this car in September 2017. Shortly after, I noticed the interior of my car smelling like gas. I was very satisfied with my first Range Rover after Mercedes. Especially I am very impressed by the Ashford dealership, very competent and friendly staff. They just fixed a stupid electronic gearbox failure indication on my old Jaguar very competently. Driving a lot on the continent I wanted for quite some time to change my RR right-hand drive against a left-hand drive with UK registration. The Ashford dealer had big difficulties to come up with a proposal. In the internet I found at a grey dealer near Brighton a left hand vogue with 511 miles on the clock. Hence I bought the car. It was a Korean version build four years ago registered the first time by Land Rover in 1st May 2016.As the car had no warranty I purchased an extended warranty contract and paid around £1.600,--. Recently I received an undated letter from Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration cancelling the contract. After inquiry at my dealer I heard, that the Land Rover Approved Warranty Administration could not accept this warranty as they could not trace the car, having been sold abroad! I think this is an outright lie as the car had only 511 miles and was first registered on the name of Land Rover May 1st, 2016. I am the second owner. Every dealership also as good as Ashford can only be as good as the main organisation. When the main organisation is untruthful it becomes very difficult for the dealer to be between the main organisation and the client. I wish a competent answer why Range Rover Warranty pretends not being able to trace their own car registered by Land Rover May 1st, 2016.

I have been a lease holder with the Larchmont, New Rochelle Land Rover Deal
I have been a lease holder with the Larchmont, New Rochelle Land Rover Dealership since 2003. The first lease I had was a 2003 Freelander which I returned in 2006. In March 2006, I leased a used 2005 LR3. Although this vehicle is considered to be of great prestige, I have had nothing but problems with this particular model. The first fault that I noticed with this vehicle occurred after the first four months. The vehicle stalled on me while driving it at 70 miles an hour. If I would not have known to place the gear shift lever in neutral and then turn the engine back on, I cannot imagine what could have happened to me and my family. The car stalled a second time soon after and I decided to bring it in for service at Larchmont, New Rochelle and I was informed that it was a problem with the suspension module. Although the problem was resolved, these incidents left me doubtful while driving the LR3. Once again, the vehicle stalled on the highway and again I was left to move the gear shift lever to neutral to turn the engine on. I called Land Rover of Larchmont and I was asked to bring the vehicle in and I was told that the module was defected and had to be replaced again. The vehicle is at the beginning of its life with only 18900 miles. I have experienced other problems such as, an electrical problem which prevented me from opening the vehicle using the key remotes, apparently due to electrical wiring becoming wet from water entering the vehicle. The week after again another problem, the air conditioner was not working. The driver side was blowing out cool air and the passenger side was blowing out hot air. As you can read from the numerous incidents I have listed above, I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. I am asking for a resolution to my ongoing problems with this particular vehicle such as a replacement truck with minimal problems and or an early termination of the lease. I have been a good customer to Land Rover, always keeping my lease agreement and I have never missing a payment in return I expect Land Rover to accommodate me with a quality product for the price I am paying.

Now they told me they put a new sensor and guess what still having the same problem. Mr. ** manager of service department was very rude. Also I cannot get paperwork of the new sensor. I believe they just lied, so I am just imaging this...just because I am a woman and dont know anything. I will try getting a hold of someone at corporate office.

In my last night traveling in TX I was packing my Range Rover EVOQUE. I was carrying a case of water and I tried opening the back door of the vehicle using my leg since this vehicle has a sensor that will open the door passing the leg on the corner. As I tried opening I felt like if someone touch me with a super hot object. I looked down and didnt see much at first but the next day I had a big bubble in my leg filled with liquid. It looks horrible now. I feel like I have been marked for life :(. I want awareness for owners, this could be really dangerous. Does anyone know how can I put a complaint?

I purchased a 2018 Range Rover Sport with the expectation that a six figure car would have everything sorted and working. I was wrong. The media module decides when it wants to work, doesnt load all of my music and contacts, and wont connect to my iPhone if it doesnt feel like it. Ive had it back to the dealer 3 times. They have changed the module and tried everything they can to fix it but I have been told that there is nothing else they can do. Apparently its an issue between Apple and Land Rover and Land Rover wont pay the fee to Apple for system upgrades, hence issues with Apple phones. Its incredibly frustrating considering the cost of the car and the advertising Land Rover puts out about their luxury car abilities. Their arrogance lets them down badly and doesnt bode well for reputation. Ive been left with well get in touch when we have a resolution. Not good enough.

Just wish the oil changes and maintenance was quicker... But overall it was wonderful. They offered more variety than most dealerships, a great service package and warranty, and easy options to finance. Also, they allowed me to personalized my Land Rover to fit my personality... I have 3 kids of my own and 4 step kids and needed a vehicle to seat us all if needed and this fit. Perfect... and would buy again.

The Range Rover Sport is by far the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. What a disappointment for a luxury SUV. The car always has issues, stays in the shop and is constantly in need of some type of service. The smallest things will require you to go to the dealer to be addressed. When any warning light comes on, prepare yourself for a trip to the dealer with your credit card ready. And this is way too often. For example, Ive had my tire pressure light come on, which is an appreciated notification, but after filling the tires with air the warning light wouldnt go off. Who needs a trip to the dealer for putting air in the tires? No thank you! Its an awesome looking vehicle but the maintenance is a part-time job and expensive. This car is like dating a young supermodel. Its great when its new and quite beautiful to look at, but it needs a lot of work under the hood and it is gonna cost you! You will get to know your repairman quite well if you purchase this vehicle. A truly disappointing experience.

I loved the car, hated the payment. Not really that much variety to choose from. Other car manufacturer offer more choices. As far as that goes however, for a luxury car its great. The appearance of my Land Rover was amazing. It was sleek and stylish design and loaded with standard features, cruise control, heat and air, CD player, heated leather seats. Also, personalized options were minimal and what was offered coated way too much so I had to compromise on the features I wanted or install after market which voided the warranty. Passenger capacity was also great you could fit 5 adults comfortably which is great for going on road trips with friends or taking your family on vacations.

I purchased a Land Rover Discovery Sport in March of 2016. By September, the coolant was leaking and they replaced the water pump. A year later, a cylinder in the engine goes and Land Rover is denying any responsibility. Umm, the water pump failing, overheated and cracked a cylinder head. How is that not their responsibility? Their internal service reminder system failed on the car and yet they didnt think it was important to tell their customers the system they repeatedly told everyone was working had failed and they needed a backup. I didnt catch their cars defects fast enough so they are trying to use it as an excuse not to cover a new engine. After 3 months of talking to the brick wall that is customer service, I have had to take my fight to social media along with writing letters to all of their senior executives. Ill keep fighting until they make it right. My car is less than 2 years old and undrivable. I have zero incentive to stop fighting.

I ordered a new 2017 Range Rover Sport. I waited over four months to have what I thought was the car of my dreams to be built. The day after I took delivery, I was back at the dealership because the navigation didn’t work. My car has been into the service department 7 times. Initially, the car would alarm when getting into it, saying the car was not put in Park. I took pictures to show the car was in park each time, but would sound off when I would get back into the vehicle. This was ultimately resolved with what they said was a software update. I have an iPhone 7 that works all the time, including with my 2008 BMW. The phone does not consistently connect to the Bluetooth. A call will go out or come in, but neither person can hear the person on the other end of the line. The navigation does not connect. My last time in, I was told it might be my phone. There was nothing they could do. Software was up to date. This was after the entire Infosystem has been replace for the phone not working, the media not working, the navigation not working, and the entire screen going black for no reason at all. After contacting Apple, they confirmed my phone is not the issue. After countless trips to the service department without resolution, I requested Land Rover buy back the car. Even though they have at least 6 service records, they replied they have looked into it, and my car does not qualify, without a real explanation. I have now submitted my complaint to the BBB. I cannot imagine a luxury 2017 vehicle is not compatible with a phone that’s a year or so old. It works perfectly fine in every other circumstance, including the Bluetooth in other vehicles.

I bought a 2015 LR4 in March, and thought I would share some information with prospective buyers. Land Rover USA has admitted that there is a problem in the air conditioning system of the 2015 LR4s, a problem that causes a high pitched whistle to be emitted from the dashboard area whenever the air conditioner is on (as it often is if you live in Texas). Land Rover says this is a characteristic of the 2015 LR4s, and have offered no fix for the problem. If you are considering purchasing an LR4, I would seriously reconsider, until Land Rover has a fix for this issue. Though the dealership has tried, they have been unable to fix the problem, and my car has spent over 40 days in the shop since I purchased it.

I had a 2006 Range Rover Sport HSE. I loved it! At about 90,000 km, I started getting intermittent reduced engine efficiency warnings that began to result in low speed stalls. Check engine light occasionally would come on as well. I had my mechanic replace several sensors. Then I took it to the Land Rover dealer (in the next city) who diagnosed a mass airflow sensor as the culprit. This was changed but it kept reoccurring. More diagnostics (and the money associated with that) and resetting of the codes: same mafs but nothing was wrong with the sensor! Land Rover was unhelpful and quite frankly, disinterested. I guess the repeated cost resetting charges were making everyone happy (except me). So, I bought a 2013 Ford Explorer, a great vehicle at a half the cost, same great cargo space, better ride (!) and a more accessible dealer network. Its a great truck.Im very disappointed in Land Rover. I currently have a Mercedes E-class which Ive had for almost 10 years without any significant issues, as well as a summer-only 5-year old Porsche that has cost me only oil changes. I dont mind spending money on vehicles, but I wont be loyal to a brand that cant fix their own vehicles properly. Good riddance, Landie, forever.

Have a Range Rover Sport- bought in August 2014. The car is 6 months old. The car door handle has fallen off. Range rover claims it is not a warranty problem. Poor customer service. A high end vehicle like Range Rover should stand behind their product. A car that is 6 months old should not be missing a handle!!! Nor should I have to pay out of pocket to get the handle replaced as it should never have fallen off in the first place. Dealership told us they have had numerous cars come in with this issue. We decided to buy our son an Evoque last year as a graduation present and he has encountered problem after problem. All in all, the car has been into the dealership over a dozen times and has been off the road for the best part of three months within the year. This was not what we expected and decided to complain to Land Rover customer service teams, as advised by the dealership. We might as well contacted the Ministry of Incompetence - though polite and said the right things, at no point have they actually looked at this from our perspective, let alone do anything for us. We cannot get hold of the directors - who are faceless and do not want to know about the inadequacies of their products and after-sales teams. Finally, after receiving advice, we have had to start legal proceedings against the dealership who sold us the vehicle. Land Rover do not even seem to want to support their own dealerships. We strongly advise anyone that is thinking of purchasing a vehicle from this company not to do so. Extremely disappointed with all aspects of this manufacturer. Best of British - I think not.

The problems with this vehicle started with fit and finish issues within days of driving the new Land Rover Discovery off the dealer lot, that included a squeaky rear seat that took at least four separate visits to fix. Then the problems migrated to the rear liftgate interior panel that continually detached from the body hatch and hug down from one side. I have been back at least six times to fix this problem over a two year period. And each time they fix it and each time it falls apart again. Still no remedy. The best problem, at least for the service providers, has been the non-recall camshaft defect that has been known to Land Rover for some time (not counting the axle bearing failure, that was thankfully caught under warranty). This cam issue totally stopped the car. I finally took the Discovery to an independent garage and am now faced with a $2400 repair bill. Wait, no scratch that; an $11,000 bill. They decided I need a new engine, explaining the cam controller shattered with metal fragments going into the engine.Needless to say, I would not recommend Land Rover vehicles in general. It seems that when these two brands Land Rover-Jaguar, were purchased by an Indian investment company, Tata Motors, the legendary quality and durability was lost. The decision was made to introduce a variety of snappy looking consumer market-class models and trash the historic world-class reliability tradition. Remember all the old movies and newsreels with Land Rover busting through the jungles and mountain passes. Don’t try this too far from town. Trapped in the Outback in a new Discovery would be life threatening. There is a new Defender model, though I wouldn’t hold out much hope for that either - same build, parts and management. Land Rover should have kept the name when they sold out to Tata.

The brakes wear warning came on at 27100 km. I drive mostly highway and I am very light on the brakes, so when I saw the warning I ignored and thought it is false alarm. A week later, light disappeared. Drove for another week, warning brake light came on again. Kept driving, but the light stayed on. By that time I had 28000 km, so I decided to take it to my local garage and let him check the brakes.I was told that the rear brake pads are completely gone and rotors were rusted, so I asked if this is normal and mechanic answer was NO WAY. He explained that the front brakes do most of the work and to have rear brakes completely worn out is extremely unusual. He went on to say that they must have been faulty brakes. I called the dealer which is Thornhill Land Rover and talked to the service manager Sandro who told me that this is normal and depends on my style of driving, in other words SOL.I called Land Rover Canada after spending 20 min on the phone with some dim light lady. She decided after consulting with someone else that it is wear and there is nothing they can do for me. So I am sorry to say that after driving BMW for 15 years switching to Land Rover Discovery 2016 was the biggest mistake. My previous BMW all of them I drove to 65000 km and never replaced or seen brake lights come on. I put low miles on my cars. I have a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE and the coolant hose broke while driving on a highway, I pulled over immediately when warning light came on but it was too late. The coolant went into my engine, it was overheated, the gasket blown, and 2 cylinders were toast and the engine is warped. The cost of a new engine exceeds the value of the SUV. With 38k miles and routine services done, its unacceptable a $89,000 vehicle would be made so flimsy that the coolant hose would fail. And there are no safeguards against the engine frying. Only if the coolant was leaking instead of a hose bursting. The mechanics are stunned looking at the hose and wondering why Land Rover wouldnt help me out, especially with low miles on the vehicle. From what Im told, do not own a Land Rover that is out of warranty. My dealership is Land Rover of Monmouth. They didnt even offer any break on repair and when I asked for quote on new left over 2016 vehicle they gave me about a 2% discount. A joke with 60+ 2016 range Rovers (including sport model) available when 2017 models are being released by end of year. A different dealership Ive never done business with gave me upfront a better deal before I even started negotiating. Land Rover of Princeton. In all the vehicles I have purchased both personally and professionally I can only report exceptionally delightful experiences with both the dealership and the sales rep - until I purchased a Range Rover from Hennessy Jaguar Land Rover Gwinnett. My previous experience in purchasing vehicles was, in fact, so delightful that when I have purchased my company vehicles at one dealership I have typically used for this purpose that I have sent the dealership staff and sales reps gifts after closing and written glowing reviews and completed surveys indicating satisfaction above and beyond the norm. This is my first negative experience with a dealership and it’s been one I don’t care to remember, but would rather forget. From the assistant manager Mr. David ** developing convenient memory loss as to his promises made as part of the transaction later, after the purchase, to the questionable ethics and practices of Mr. Ricky ** in the finance department. Having previously heard woeful tales from others about their experiences with car dealerships, I could never relate. It has now become my unfortunate reality. After experiencing multiple issues with the vehicle purchased at the dealership less than a month into ownership and only having possession of the vehicle for 18 days of that month long period of time due to the time the dealership had it for the initial repairs it became clear this Range Rover is a lemon. It broke down not but a few miles from the dealership on the date of purchase. The battery light came on even though the dealership said the issue was a fuel sensor which was repaired. They told me that the repair addressed the issue and it wouldnt occur again. Did I mention it died in the middle of Interstate 85? Slight safety issue if you ask me, but neither the dealership nor Land Rover seemed terribly concerned. I mean, I could have been hit by a driver doing 80 mph on the interstate, but perhaps the Range Rover makes for a better coffin than mode of transportation. Then the driver from the dealership that was driving my company car damaged the tires and front bumper on his way back to my home driving the vehicle. Then the check engine light began coming on and going off seemingly randomly. Not yet having a permanent tag for the vehicle while experiencing multiple issues in less than a month clearly points to this being a problem vehicle.Through all of this unfortunate experience I did my best to be patient and understanding. Yet it became clear that approach doesn’t work with this dealership or manufacturer. The dealership will lie to you, make promises they wont keep, mislead you and then claim they never made any commitment of the sort. Please save yourself, do not consider purchasing a Land Rover vehicle.I now have possession, only part time since its in the shop half the time, of a very beautiful and expensive piece of junk that sits in my garage when I do have part time custody because Im too afraid to be left stranded the next time it dies while Im driving it. I mean Land Rover does have Roadside Assistance, but thats right, theyre only open and available during business hours Monday-Friday so if I am left stranded, Im on my own. Lets hope I have a signal on my mobile device so I can make contact with someone who cares - apparently thats not Land Rover. DO NOT buy a Land Rover product... That is unless you want to add stress and frustration to your life and a hunk of junk in your garage.

Its variety isnt awesome but it has a lot of very tough and very nice SUVs and pickup style vehicles. They may not be awesomely fuel efficient but they are reliable. It hold a lot of people, seven person capacity. Beautiful design and some of the finest interiors Ive ever seen. Baseball leather and things like heated and cooled seat. Also side seating on some model amazing brand. It very customizable and can be made to suit your needs. It really is usable for anything without a single upgrade though.

Im getting nowhere with Land Rover themselves and need to take this further so need examples of anyone else in my situation as Im being told that Im the only one having this problem. By the way, I know Im not as Ive got a friends partner whos now been through 6 of them. Hes not getting anywhere either!

I purchased my 2017 Discovery new with only 11 miles, and loved the car except that the backup camera works only periodically, the audio works only when when it wants to. I now have 34,000 miles and have extreme shaking upon applying brakes. I’m told I need new back wheel brakes at the tune of $1,000 and if shaking continues, I’ll need new front brakes as well for that same amount. I’m told this is not a manufacturers defect so not covered under warranty :(. I’ll be selling this lemon and never purchase a Rover again. I’ll also not recommend that any friends or acquaintances purchase a rover. This is my first and last rover.

I purchased a 2016 Range Rover and returned the Range Rover Sport about 10 times to have the navigation system repaired due the wrong directions that the system produced. I am a realtor and need use of the nav all day and all week. I have to use my iPhone for directions and when customers are call me all day, I cant see my nav on my phone. The salesman told me that the navigation and equipment was the best you can get and after paying $88,000 for the Range Rover Sport I found that friends of mine who purchased $25,000 cars had navigation systems that put mine to shame! The dealer and the CORPORATE office didnt care. A matter of fact, the unit was so bad that they change the system completely in the 2017 due to the many problems but they wouldnt admit it or make me happy by putting a 2017 unit in its place. Also the cost to maintain the automobile is extremely expensive. Dont think about buying a Range Rover before you read the 1000s of complaints.

Range Land Rover in Cardiff this morning and asked to speak to the salesman who dealt with me as I am awaiting on a part that came off my Range Rover SVR. Was told the salesman was busy and would call me back, had no response for a couple of hours and decided to call back and this time I was told by the same receptionist that the salesman I wanted to talk to has a day off??? I queried this with the receptionist that why was I told he was in and busy and now been told that he is not in work? She could not reply to this. I had ordered that part with them over a month ago and was advised by the salesman that this would take about a week to come and be painted, etc. etc.I feel like I am being fobbed off by the dealership and I truly wish that I was fobbed off before I parted with my £109,000.00 for the vehicle I purchased from them last year as then I wouldve gone and sourced another high end vehicle from another dealership. Reading the comments on here it seems that this is normal practice for this brand of dealership. Customer service is out of the door once they have had your money.

I have had my 2015 Evoque for 60 days now and we just picked it up from our Land Rover dealer service for a gearbox fault (I will get more into that shortly). On the way home on the highway, the car lost power in the fast lane, basically shut down and give us the same gearbox malfunction code as before. My wife and 6 year old child were in the car with me when this happen. Cars behind me had to slam on their brakes because my Evoque was slowing at a fast rate and I had no power to get out of the way. Luckily there was an opening in traffic for me to pull into the side of the road. The same thing happen last week when my wife was driving my son to the doctor and A SEMI TRUCK NARROWLY AVOIDED RUNNING INTO MY WIFE AND CHILD BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE! My wife doesnt want this car, I dont want this car, I feel like my family is not safe in it anymore and I honestly dont know what path to take.I love(d) the Land Rover brand and weve owned an LR3, LR4, and a Range Rover Sport. We were excited to experience this vehicle and it has led to nothing but heartache. I believe Land Rover owes me a new, safe vehicle. Especially after being a loyal customer for the last 7 years.

I have written a review before on this site but this time after 6 years of
I have written a review before on this site but this time after 6 years of being in court with Land Rover. I can now tell you everything what has happened. First I have owned 6 Range Rovers and up to the last one I bought from Lloyds Land Rover in Carlisle UK dealer. I had little or no problems with the cars. But then I bought a new sport HSE with the new Jaguar engine 3 litre. From the start this car was a lemon. After only driving less than 200 miles I had a fault when I was driving along it would pull up for no reason. The dash would light up with all kinds of failed components such as hill decent fail brake assist fail engine management fail gearbox fail just about everything.I would then ring Lloyds of Carlisle up and complain that the car has stopped again. This happened several times. I was getting sick. I had just bought this car at a cost of over 65 thousand pound of my very hard earned money. At that price you would think you would have no trouble. This was not the case.I told the garage that I wanted the car fixed so I was asked by Lloyds of Carlisle to take the car in and could I leave it for 3 days. I agreed to this. On the third day Lloyds rang me up and told me that the car was fixed and I would have no more bother with it again. This was on the Friday around 5:30 that weekend we used my wifes car as my new Range Rover had let us down so many times before. On the Monday morning I got into the Range Rover 30th November 2009. I was going to a site meeting at Lochmaben. This was the first phase of 30 houses we started for DGHP possible 5 thousand houses that was getting upgraded and I had a chance of that work. When I was driving the car just out of Lloyds of Carlisle I reached a speed of between 60 - 70 MPH. All of a sudden without warning the cars brakes activated and I came to an abrupt stop. I hit my head on the headrest. Also my left hand was pushed into the steering wheel. I did not know what had happened at all. It was so fast. At first I did think something hit me from the rear but when I gained composure nothing had hit me. The only way I could describe what happened was it was like an emergency stop. I was very angry. I rang the garage from the car and told them what had happened that I was rejecting the car. I did not want it anymore. When I got to the garage I told ** all about it. By this time my neck was hurting a bit also my left hand. Lloyds gave me a loan car and I was told that somebody would ring me later that day. I drove home rang the site gave my apologies told them what had happened that I would not be on site that day. As the day went on my neck got worse so I decided not to go in that week. I struggled on for about 8 week until my wife forced me to go to the doctors from that day. The rest was history. I was x-rayed and I was told that I had shattered my neck after 3 operations on my spine. I am now in a wheelchair and never worked from that day.I had to pay off my workers and close my company down. I lost out in a big way a contract worth tens of thousands of pounds. I tried to sort it out with Land Rover but it was a joke. I was offered 20 thousand pounds plus replacement car at no charge. To me I accepted the car but when that was delivered after about 25 miles it developed the same problem. I was so angry but when I phoned up Lloyds of Carlisle I was told that the problem had been found and had been recalled. It went in. I was told it had sensors replaced and software upgrade had been done. I sold the car soon after but that car before it had done 20 thousand miles the engine had blown up. I did not know about all the problems Jaguar Land Rover had with their cars. If I did I would not be in the condition I am today as I could not sort out some sort of compensation with them and decided to take them to court after the biggest cover up by Land Rover in court. They lied in court to win committed perjury. The judge also said to me that I was trying to besmirch the good name of a first class company. He was under the impression that nothing like I said went wrong with their product dont know if he got a new car out of it or not.All I know is that after six year it was a farce. The only problem is I dont have the money to take them to the high court in London. If there is anyone out there has similar faults with their Range Rovers give me a call or email me as if something is not done to sort out this company. Someone will be killed because of the cars they make. According to Land Rover nothing ever goes wrong with their cars? Email is ** phone is **. Feel free to call or email me. It would help. Thanks.

We bought our 2008 LR2 in early 2007. We have had nothing but headaches with this vehicle since day one. The first day driving, the sunroof seal peeled off and the screen became detached. Then the problems got worse to the point we thought the electrical system was defective. This vehicle has been in the auto dealership repair shop more than my wife and I have seen our doctors. It was so bad that Land Rover had to send an engineer out to look at the vehicle to get an idea what was causing all the problems and it seemed fixed. Lo and behold, the warranty expires and guess what? We start having more problems and costly ones at that. We literally lost our savings account for repairs on our LR2. The most recent repair over $1,200.00 for a cooling fan. It gets better.Prior to this repair our windscreen was damaged by something that struck the windscreen. Safe lite comes out and the tech. is not concerned about the crack as much as he is about the delaminated windscreen. He asked if we had been in accident and if we were the original owners. The vehicle was never in an accident and we are the original owners. The vehicles has only ever been serviced at LR dealership in Ventura, CA. and nowhere else. Apparently, the windscreen was replaced because it was damaged but it was incorrectly replaced and it allowed moisture to enter the instrument panel and thus our electronic headaches I can only presume. Weve had the fuel pump go out, oil pump go out, among a host of numerous other headaches that added up to the several thousands of dollars we lost on repairing this piece of junk.Land Rover asked for the receipt of our most recent repair and the response was laughable. I posted my response on Google Plus. Basically we were told that Land Rover offered a goodwill gesture for reimbursing our windscreen which they fraudulently sold us in a bad and very unsafe condition. I had to laugh, we paid several thousands of dollars in repairs and Land Rover is not in a financial position to assist for one repair. LOL. That is pathetic!

Land Rover Hinsdale worked on my car several times... Was guaranteed there will be no more problems with the rear differential. Less than a year later, it was leaking again. They took care of it but claimed I need a front wheel bearing... I wanted to confirm it had nothing to do with the rear Differential so did not authorize work until I can confirm it was truly a front wheel bearing... To my surprise they called claiming the car was fixed And I now owed $837.00. None of this work was authorized.... I was never able to confirm whether it was a front or rear wheel bearing or whether the rear differential was leaking. And that was why the rear bearing went out. Really makes me wonder... What were they hiding??? Why would they not let me confirm it was a front wheel bearing... was there a problem with my rear differential??? Was there a problem with my rear axle?? Did this cause problems to my rear wheel bearing?? I will never know!!! I was told by corporate Land Rover theyve done all they can they are no longer going to pay for any repairs. They claim they done enough... They claim they paid enough... I wish I had this luxury!!!

The car offers DVD, good size video screens, the power is magnificent, for towing anything is the best. It is high-performance and the HSE. It has InControl smartphone app integration and it offers Driver Assistance package, includes a lane-departure warning system and 360-degree parking sensors. It also include standard satellite and HD radio across the lineup. You have to drive it to experience. There is enough room for both the passengers and the luggage you carry. It is suitable for the family, small to large, sitting area gives enough leg room for the tallest, and seats recliner positions good.Mine is the old shape but does not differ from the newer shapes, as the most features are the same, the electronics, the in-car entertainment is the best, and space for luggage. I could upgrade certain features in the car like your motor plan, and the main onboard computer. When you buy it new, you can select own color, size wheels and much more.

I have leased a Land Rover Evoque 2015 (new) - it has 92000 km and my lease is up Jan 2019. On July 14 the engine just stopped - I had it towed to a local mechanic. I wanted to make sure it was not just a battery issue (quick review) - I was told that the engine had experienced a catastrophic failure and caused the top of the engine block to blow off. I then had it towed to Metro West - where they just sat on the car for over two weeks- Always telling me that they are working on it with Land Rover. On July 27 I went into the dealer and demanded answers. The Service manager gave me a toll free number to Land Rover. I made the call and they had no record of my vehicle issue. It then takes Land Rover until Aug 03 - to tell me that if I went through them they would put in up to 3500.00 on repairs. They only want to replace with new engine (cost 18,000.00). Still they have not investigated why this happened. All service was performed, with the proper oil - there was no tell tail signs that there was an issue, the engine had the proper amount of oil. I have all records and photos of engine, plus a letter with a licensed mechanic opinion. On Aug 07 - I have towed my car from Metro West and brought it to my regular mechanic OK Hi Standard Tire. Through all this I have rented my own car - which I need to get myself prepared for a kidney transplant and work. I have asked Hi Standard tire to take all photos and see if we can determine what failed internally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Between Range and Land Rovers, theres a ton of options. Theres the Sport, Discover, and Evoque which are all different prices. They are very nice and easily customizable. You can customize almost anything. A popular route is the blacked out Range Rover, which looks very sleek. You can also choose from the basics - just color of leather and outside. The car is beautiful inside and beautiful outside! I love the look and feel of the cars. Great colors for leather and outside. It has very distinct look and you can tell they are Rovers. A lot of the cars have a 7 person capacity, but the back seats can be small and crammed. The front seats are full and luxurious, though, and could comfortably seat two petite people (not while driving though!). Its overall a great car and would recommend it.

I also noticed it has a leak and the coolant is leaking out... The fact that they are endangering me and fiancée’s life by letting me drives a car that is seriously defective. Causes me to question the intentions of the companies risk management practices and their exposure in the event of an accident. I have made several telephone complaints throughout the years and have taken the vehicle in for various repairs but more importantly it is the engine/turbocharger issue that endangers my fiancée’s life when the vehicle is not operating properly. It will not accelerate and I will have to turn off the engine and restart the car. This is very unsafe and has been in the shop for over 44 days over a 24 months period. This was a brand new Range Rover Evoque -2013.As stated in the Motor Vehicle Warranty and Lemon Law we notified Land Rover of our intentions to have them buy back the car. Case Number #**. We began the request for a repurchase from Land Rover for the purchase or buyback for our 2013 Range Rover Evoque under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. They feel that they be didn’t have enough attempts that make the value of safety of car worthy of this act. They did offer a goodwill gesture of $1500 however by offering the money; they are acknowledging that there are numerous issues with this 2013 Range Rover Evoque. After being in the shop numerous times for Turbo Charger/Engine issues, we again took it in for service again in February 12, 2015, we didnt get it back until February 20th, 2015 and it will still need to go back to the shop. Mile 29924 (7 Days). The check engine light is on again, and it’s lacking power, and is red lining at 6000 RPM before it shifts gears. Joe went on test drive with the technician and the service writer to show them what he means. The technicians stated to Joe with the service writer in the car that something wasnt right with the turbocharger and that the engine was working too hard which is why it was causing it to shift at such a high RPM, however the Land Rover agent, is trying to say it’s something else. In reviewing the most recent paperwork, I don’t see why it would take 7 days to fix a bulb, which is how the latest service repair reads, nothing about Joe going on the test drive, and showing the red lining of the RPMs before it shift. They stated in the service contract that it was the thermostat regulator is not performing, they needed to do an update. There is no documentation that was witnessed by the Service Writer and the Technician that Joe went on the test drive and showed them it was red lining in the report or the notes. Which leads me to questions how truthful and forthcoming they have been with writing all the other service reports in Land Rovers favor. In Summation - THE LEMON LAW AND WHAT IS A REASONABLE NUMBER OF REPAIR ATTEMPTSAccording The Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (beginning with Civil Code section 1790) we qualify for the lemon law and protection for a newly leased vehicle, when a dealer is unable to meet the terms express written warranty after a reasonable number of repair attempts, the manufacture is required to promptly replace the vehicle or return the purchase price of the lessee or buyer.SECTION (B-1) This is an UNSAFE vehicle and in the event I cannot accelerate through traffic or end up in an accident because of the poor quality of the engine and number of attempts to replace the turbo engine/charger is now going on its third repair. And it is currently back in for service repair again (February 12, 2015 5 days and counting) with the check engine light on. According to the mechanic that did a ride along with Joe **, it’s back in the shop because the engines is working overtime, and redline shifts at 6000 RPM, again making it unsafe to drive. The dealership since then knowingly put me back into a car that had numerous Turbocharger and engine problems and therefore doesn’t consider my life and safety to be a concern for them with this many engine attempts to fix a bad Engine/Turbocharger issue. If I get into an accident because of the lack of power/engine/turbocharger, and get T-boned by on-coming traffic and end up in the hospital, only then they would consider purchasing back the car? Or by then I could be dead, so then I guess they would win because they wouldnt have to buy back the car and just have a lawsuit on their hands for wrongful death.SECTION (B -2) within the first 18,000 miles or 18 months these problems are still happening and the same problem like engine/turbocharger issues where I cannot accelerate to move out of oncoming traffic can cause death or serious bodily injury, and has been subject to repair two or more times by the manufacturer! Are they waiting for me to get in a horrible accident and then I would qualify for the LIFE THREATENING incident?SECTION (B-3) The vehicle is out of service because of the number of repairs and problems this 2013 Range Rover Evoque is having and although the manufacturer has made a number of attempts, the car is still very problematic. This vehicle has a cumulative total of more than 30 days since the delivery of the vehicle; it is actually now going on 44 days and counting. Despite repeated attempts at repair by Land Rover Service, the 2013 Range Rover Evoque still remains defective and therefore there has been a failure and refusal to conform the product to its express warranty under the law.In closing, and just a personal question to whoever is reading this…in looking over the services records, would you let your 16 year old son or daughter drive this vehicle? Would you be comfortable buying this car from me knowing the service/repair history I have attached. Can you honestly say you would feel comfortable driving this car yourself?

It is quite large but not too large that it is difficult to park. It is also very boxy but not in an ugly way. Overall I think the car looks great. The SUV can fit 8 people and still has room for bags, suitcases, grocery and JUST more leg room in general which makes it more comfortable for the passenger.

This is my second Land Rover Sport. My first vehicle was excellent. Unfortunately both the product and the customer service associated with the product have descended to the level of abysmal. In three months of ownership the car has completely shut down 3 times and been towed from various locations. Within 3 days of delivery the car shut down on a major highway. Land Rovers corporate customer service response is comparable to dealing with a public utility or government office. They are rude, confrontational and unhelpful. This is a very expensive vehicle. It looks nice but that is the end of its appeal. Do yourself a favor and buy a real luxury brand or at least a car that actually does things like start. My Jeep Cherokee has a nice appearance. Its black and I received several compliments about it. It has 4 wheel drive which has been handy when it snows. It seats 4 people comfortably but can hold 5 people. We took it on a road trip over the summer with 5 passengers and it has not given me any major problems. We spent 6 hours on the road and everyone was pretty comfortable. It is a good vehicle.

I have the following issues with the car: Engine light with decreased engine performance, multiple warning lights going on, failure of the heating system, and more. In the last year, I brought the car in at least 4 times and each time the car was returned to me not fixed and all the service personnel said was Drive it for a short while and it will work itself out. They charged the warranty repair insurance each time and fixed nothing. Most recently, I brought it in yet again for all these and for NYS Inspection. After 3 days in the shop - the dealer/service personnel returned it will all the warning lights and the heat still not working - said, We dont know whats wrong and we cant fix the car and we cant inspect it because of the warning lights. I said, But you are the dealer, you sold me the car, it is still under warranty, so what are my options? They said, We have nothing to say and we can offer you no solution. Complete incompetence and rudeness on top of that. I also suspect this is their business practice - to take in cars to the dealership for repair - bill the warranty service, not do the said repair and hope the consumer does not come back.

My name is Francesca and I recently moved to Antibes, France with my daught
My name is Francesca and I recently moved to Antibes, France with my daughters Chiara and Allegra. We are English and chose our new car three years ago from Land Rover Azur Cars. A Defender 90 in gun metal grey --love at first sight! This spring, on the motorway, there was suddenly a metallic roaring noise beside me. I thought it was a lorry overtaking but in fact, it was me. The 6th gear had taken on a life of its own. Concerned that I might be stranded, I limped home in 4th and booked an appointment with Land Rover Azur Cars for 16th May 11. I was also concerned that the 3-year warranty for the car expired mid-July 11. Allegra and her car are permanently in Milan so when I took the Defender in, they organized a Mini for me as a substitute. At the cost of 50 euros per day. The chief mechanic, Claude **, told me to call the next day but there was no diagnosis. In the meantime, I received an urgent letter from Land Rover headquarters informing all owners of this model that there was seepage of oil into the braking system and that I should hotfoot it to Land Rover. Given that the car was already there, I sent Mr. ** the letter and finally received information that the gearbox would have to be replaced (he told me that both works were under guarantee) and that he would ask Land Rover to take over the charges for the Mini. I told him very clearly that I was booked for an extended stay abroad from 8th June until 4th October 11, advising him too that Chiara couldnt drive due to a medical condition and that the Mini was parked on the road nearby just getting dirty. He told me there was no problem, all was in hand and not to worry.Time rolled on, Chiara and I called LR Azur Cars many times with no result going through various departments of used car sales, BMW motorbikes, the latest Mini/Land Rover promotion and put on endless hold for the mechanics department. Finally, I left. To shorten the story, Chiara telephoned and emailed regularly to find out what was happening. After a desperate phone call from Chiara to Azur Cars, there was an arrangement for someone to bring the LR and take back the Mini on 4PM one afternoon. Chiara took time off work, waited for the rendezvous but no one showed up. On 26/08/11, a registered letter from Land Rover Azure Cars arrived saying: We received the Land Rover frame No. ** on 17th May (it was actually 16th May). The car was repaired on 20th June. We dont have any room and cant keep your car here indefinitely. We are asking you to pay 35 per day for parking rates as well as the rental of 50 per day starting on the 30th June up until you come to pick up the car and deliver the rental one.In one phone call from the office of the lawyer I have now employed (after receiving the registered letter), a discussion from LR Azur Cars to go 50/50 was mooted but was rejected. Three letters have been sent by the lawyer to LR Azur Cars, but no reply as yet. The lawyers letters have been indignant and he has told me not to go to Land Rover Azur Cars/Mini before seeing him. I cant be without my car indefinitely while the lawyers send each other indignant letters. I consider this situation similar to legalized extortion and I do not intend to pay a penny for something brought about entirely by the inefficiency and inflexibility of Land Rover Azur Cars.I have returned the Mini to the rental company, I have had to fork out 2,000.00 for the wear and tear incurred by having it parked on the street for 4 months and the post sales director refused to give me my car unless I paid the above sum. I dont want this ridiculous mountain created from a molehill to grow in even greater proportions. Please send me any advice/help possible as it doesnt seem likely that I am going to see my car again for at least another year, until the court order is over (wishful thinking?). Yours very sincerely,Francesca **

Months ago we purchased a new Evoque and drove out to Death Valley for the Thanksgiving vacation. Running on the dirt road was very enjoyable till we had a flat tire. Well, flat tire should not be a problem at all since this is a new car and there is spare tire. The real problem happened when we noticed that the wheel has the special lock key bolt, and the car does NOT equipped with the tool to take off that special bolt! And there is no cell phone signal and we could not make a help call! The following time in that day was quite long. We were not able to change the spare tire, had to stay in the desert, waited from morning to afternoon till a car passed by. The gentlemen helped to carry me miles away where we could eventually make the call to road service. The truck finally came in after it was getting complete dark. We were carried to Las Vegas which has the Land Rover dealer. The next day was Thanksgiving so no one work. We had to wait one extra day before the flat tire can be fixed. We finally came back home safely. But the small mistake and the missed tool has given so much trouble and made the vacation such an unpleasant experience. And a complaint sent to the dealer, received no response at all till today...

Memphis, Tn. Bluff City Range Rover. Very dissatisfied!!! Drop my vehicle off to get some repairs done on July 10, 2019 for (REPLACE BOLTS/RESEAL EXHAUST LEAK. I received a phone call from Mr. ** my service rep. (very nice guy) on July 15,2019 informing me my car was ready for pickup, he also stated that they find another leak that’s going to cost me 4,953.32 total for a new (TURBOCHARGER) after 5 days with my vehicle. Only with 104,000 miles on my Range Rover EVO 2014. I ask ** why they see this when I got the diagnostic done. (Paid 150.00 for diagnostic) I was told to fix the problem that it would only cost me 527.98. At this point, Im like, Are you serious sir. Ok I get to the dealership to do the test drive with Mr. Mike ** on July 16, 2019. While I was driving my vehicle didnt sound no different than when I dropped it off.I ask Mr. Mike why do Ive pay for something that I to still take it to somewhere else to get repairs done? He said, “Let me check on this for you. Because you shouldnt have for the service.” Mr. Mike was very courtesy. By this time a hour has pass by, then Mike approach me again stated his district manager said that I will still have to pay for the service, due to the labor. Wow! Why paid for something that the same problem that you stated you would repair, that’s still not fix. REALLY! 2 hours has now pass by, I ask to speak to Mr. Dennis **. I went into his office and ask him why pay for something that’s still not repaired. Mr. Dennis said in front of me and Mr. Mike because of the labor and also they find another leak, once they got to the part on my vehicle. He once said again the guys has to get pay for the labor time. But my vehicle is driving with the same sound from when I dropped it off.I told Mr. Dennis it sound like you more concerned about the money than the situation and not the relationship as a long time customer. Why pay for something that you didnt repair? At this point I said a few words to him, paid and went on by way. Very horrible situation. Mr. Dennis had not concerns at all. Very Rude in the way he spoken to me. His main focus was money/labor! Ive begin coming to this location since 2015. No problem at all with customer service. It was a COMPLETE RIPOFF. I wonder how many people get ripoff daily here. 2 hours 30 mins and he took my money with a unrepaired vehicle. Spoken to several of mechanics. They said to me this doesnt sound right at all. I dont think this is a bad place--just a HORRIBLE GENERAL MANAGER. Mr. Dennis rob me with no mask on!!! Fighting now to get my funds back. I pray you make this right. Upset & disappointed

Now been back to garage 25 times - 5 roadside assistance - servicing massive issue with failure to fix the issue so returning back into garage. Jaguar Land Rover fob you off and simply ignore your questions and concerns. Harwoods dealership told me to go and buy another brand as I clearly am never going to happy with the car. Its quite staggering. Now just finding out I am one of many. Wish I was aware of their unreliability before I purchased. Now stuck with car or facing a massive loss. I am an old customer of Land Rover since years and I was really satisfied with the services I got until now. An incident occurred where my car caught fire suddenly and it caused damage to my car. Thankfully, nothing happened to the passengers seated inside it, but the front part was completely damaged. The car is under warranty and has also been given for servicing on time. There was no fault with the car, but the sudden fire did take us all by surprise. Luckily, the door lock worked and the car opened and we could come out and stop the fire. I am a proud customer of Land Rover since years and this is my car of this company. I have a Range Rover sport and two Freelander 2. The car which I am talking about here is Freelander 2, which I had purchased around 2 years back. The matter has been reported to the authorized dealer, but they are little slow I guess. It would be nice if you could contact me through my mobile number or the email address provided by me or you could also give me a contact number where I can talk about this issue. Im having problems without my car and it would be nice of you if you could do it at the earliest possible. Thank you!

I purchased a Land Rover Discovery TD5 new from Lance **, Ferntree Gully in October 2004. On or around 13 March 2013 Lance ** replaced the fuel pump in the vehicle, which involved removing and replacing the fuel tank. Following this work, the fuel gauge was not seated correctly (showing incorrect fuel levels) and the fuel tank was removed and the gauge reseated. In June 2016 fuel started leaking from above the fuel tank when the motor was running. The fuel tank was removed to find damaged fuel lines because they had not been correctly sighted when the fuel tank was replaced in 2013.On or around 26 September 2013 Lance ** replaced the battery in my vehicle. Following this work I was unable to turn the motor off, the cruise control kept disengaging, and the electric trailer brakes were not working. I had to return the vehicle to have these matters rectified, but paid for a new electric brake console myself. On or around 16 September 2014 Lance ** completed a service and failed to notify me, or carry out mechanical work on a water leak. At this same service I had asked that a light in the dashboard be replaced, but I was informed they were unable to obtain a globe. I think you will agree that the events described above are unacceptable. I had been taking the vehicle to Lance ** believing I would receive an excellent standard of service, but I have been grossly let down and incurred considerable financial costs.

Just read all of these reviews. I recently acquired a Land Rover Discovery custom built off of the assembly line. 1200 miles and we experienced a horrific gas leak in the engine. My wife filled up the car and shortly thereafter the entire car was full of gas fumes. LR dispatched a tow truck. The tow company requested that we call the Fire Department before they would touch it. Then they were unable to get it into neutral or drive. Wanted us to sign a waiver releasing them of any issues while transferring the truck. We would not. So hours later they left. We are waiting on another tow truck now. After reading these reviews I am very concerned that I just threw $70,000 down a hole. The vehicle smells terribly of GAS fumes and it does not run. We do not want this car back under any circumstances. Might lead to litigation if we do not get a replacement. Just what you want after buying your wife her first new car in years!!!

Bought a new 2012 Evoque in August if 2013. Early on had a bunch of minor issues (pillar molding making noise at speed, headlight issues, etc.), but loved the car beyond all that (Colima Lime, just the color alone made me smile). About 2 months ago, at 82,000 miles, the engine cut out and could not get it restarted. Thought it was a battery issue and had it towed to a mechanic friend of mine. Within an hour he told me that it was a failed timing chain and that a new engine would be needed. I contacted Land Rover to see if they would cover this even though we were out of warranty. I was instructed to take the car to the closest dealership for inspection before they would even consider the case. It took 5 weeks for them to diagnose the problem as a broken timing chain, but still could not tell me the cause. I provided LR with all the maintenance records. Another 2 weeks went by and they declined to help. When I asked why, I was told that I did not maintain brand loyalty by getting oil changes elsewhere. That has got to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard. It was never a money issue because I always used the highest quality synthetic oils and did oil changes about every 10K miles vs. the recommended 15K. The nearest dealership is an hour away and it’s not always practical to go there. Besides, I have had many vehicles with 100K+ miles on them and did oil changes at the most convenient place, rather than the dealership...never a problem. I am now stuck with having to pay almost $16K for a new engine and the gentleman who declined financial assistance is not willing to even speak with me to give me a better explanation than oil changes not at LR. From reading all these reviews, there does seem to be an issue with the Evoque engine, as they tend to fail right about the mileage mine failed. And from what I read, some of these people even serviced the car exclusively at LR, so it’s not the aftermarket oil & filter BS. Its not even the money that gets me upset, it’s the complete lack of customer service. I mean, it’s $16K...thats the cost of a new car. Couldnt someone take a few minutes to call and explain why they arent willing to help. I am not giving up...gonna try to reach as high as I can, maybe even the company president, or just go screaming to the media...who knows. If anyone has had luck getting to some higher-up, please contact me. Perhaps as one of the posters said, might be time for a class action lawsuit. The bottom line is that they lost a customer. We were about to buy a Range Rover Sport, but thats not happening now. I should have known better to start with. Land Rovers have always had a reputation for being a beautiful car which was extremely poorly built.

Wow, lot of issues with these Land Rovers. Apparently, I am not the only one. I have a 2015 Land Rover. Problems werent apparent when I test drove it, but they sure developed quickly after buying it. My issues are mostly nuisance electronic issues that the dealer has not been able to resolve... or isnt willing to resolve. The parking brake sets at stop lights and fails to release. The transmission often is confused on which gear it needs to be in resulting in over revving of the motor and heavy clunking as it engages. Radio reception cuts out on local stations that never happened on my other cars. Intermittent wipers fail to operate intermittently. The seat will inadvertently adjust fully down and back instead of to the default Memory 1 position. Sometimes it will randomly adjust while drive. One thing I busted them on early was odometer mileage. It logged 250 miles for a highway trip that MapQuest indicated 180 miles. Perhaps they wanted the warranty to run out as quick as possible. I noted this and reported it to the deal. They said nothing was wrong, but after it was in the shop, it recorded the mileage correctly on the next trip. Strange. Perhaps they are repairing more than they want to let on. The local dealer is now in denial. They tell me they cannot replicate the problem. As the owner, we should have the most credibility with our cars. We drive them everyday, but Land Rover doesnt see it like that. These Land Rovers have electronic bugs and programming issues and it appears Land Rover is hiding from them.

Updated on 01/23/2020: Leased brand new 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE TD6 A
Updated on 01/23/2020: Leased brand new 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE TD6 AWD. Family of 6 so we need to have the third row and this vehicle promised to combine comfort, reliability, and luxury. None of those things were true. The vehicle was delivered to us with the interior drivers door panel detached and hanging from wires. Windows would not open and radio/information panel acting weird. Problems were repaired only to have water coming from upper center console leaking into cabin two weeks later. 10 days to repair. Few weeks later car starts to surge and vibrate loudly when we travelled more than 65 miles/hr. Another few weeks of repair. Over the past 26 months of ownership problems have ranged from the annoying to the absurd: -leaky windshield/sunroof (3 times repaired and still leaking) -electrical glitches with entertainment console -hood cable snapped twice - one time the vehicle would not start because I had to add DEF fluid but couldnt open the hood to add it! -car found dead and unresponsive on driveway needing to be hauled away by dealership on a flatbed because they couldnt even open the doors (never was given a reason as to what caused this other than theyve never seen this before) -defrost fan screaming when turned to max (blower fan changed out twice) -vehicle groans after 65 miles/hr and the noise is so loud the driver and front passenger need to raise their voices to speak to each other (problem still exists even though weve taken car in 6 times for repair - service says they have no idea) -windshield wipers messed up -whistling noise in cabin when on highway - service cant find air leak-condensation inside cabin every day making everything moist and stickySave yourself the hassle and aggravation. Most frustrating, annoying vehicle experience Ive ever came across. Dealership was zero help and never proposed any solutions or resolve. Ive spoken to the general, manager, service manager, sales team and they all shrug tell me ride out my lease. I personally contacted Land Rover and expressed my distress on this and they spent 2 months researching this only to come back with the obvious that the vehicle is a dud. They agreed to purchase the vehicle from me (now only 11 months to go on the lease and most of the negative equity has been paid for by yours truly) BUT ONLY if I purchase a new vehicle from them. So I guess they figure they can treat their customers like crap and then try to force them to get stuck with another one of their crummy vehicles and do it all with a smile on their face and make it seem like they are doing you the favor. Screw Land Rover. Visit my site for more **.Original Review: Purchased a brand new 2017 Discovery HSE Diesel and it has been the worst vehicle. I’ve never written a review before but the public needs to be warned about these vehicles. Problems range from the annoying to the absurd. So far I’ve dealt with leaky windshields (yes, three times), leaky sunroof, water coming into the center console, door panels detaching from their clips and hanging by wires, electrical glitches that get “fixed” by magical updates which require 3 days in service, hood cable snapped twice, car battery dead even though car locked and sitting in driveway with no lights on (had to be hauled on flat bed - service department says they’ve never seen that before and no cause found but took them 3 weeks to get the car back to me), windshield wiper issues, acceleration issues in cold weather, surging when speed hits 60 km/hr, no heat, defrost fan screaming when set to max and I’m sure half a dozen other issues that I’ve forgotten. Save yourself the pain and anguish. This car has spent months in service. It is the worst vehicle made in the last 2 decades.
