Back in 1996 I bought the most beautiful Concours Cadillac, fully loaded brand new. After warranty went off the car started giving me problems. We have taken it GM Cadillac repairs, they drove it on streets and the same thing happened to them. Car stopped running. They saw it about 3 times and never found the problem. Now GM recalled many cadillacs with the same problem. How do I write the Big GM company. They are claiming 2015 have starter problem & I believe mine is too. What should I do. I want to keep it, I love it.

In Oct. 2009 I took my 2007 SRX in for engine light check/repair. In Nov 2009 I brought it in for 5 times, twice for December 2009, once on Jan. 2010, once in Feb. 2010, Mar. 2010, April 2010, Sept. 2010, Oct. 2010, twice in Nov. 2010, once in Dec 2010, and once in Jan. 2011. There are many more that I dont have a repair order detail for. The SRX was in the Miller (now Baker) service shop, most of 2011. At times, when the light would appear, I would stop in, and the service adviser would clear it, if it was the same codes. No repair order appeared. At present, the check engine light is on, and has been on since early Dec. 2011. I was told to drive it.During 2011, Leo from Cadillac customer service would frequently contact me. I gave him an update, but I saw no action to help resolve this repetitive problem. The district rep, Tom **, is not willing to work with me, and is thwarting any resolution. He is certainly staining the Cadillac reputation. Who is his boss? I want resolution! Is this the quality automobile that Cadillac advertises?

The Escalade is a great SUV, with power and luxury. It has great handling, excellent 4WD and came with a standard antitheft system. The STS gets good gas mileage for a luxury sedan. It has intelligent beam headlights and has some great features. It also has a phenomenal audio system and I upgraded to deluxe CD player system. I bought the last model year in 2011 and loved the 3.6 L V-6 engine. It has heated seats, heated steering wheel, easy to use cruise control, heated mirrors, rear seats which fold down, and the center armrest has a pass thru. It makes it easy to put fishing poles and/or skis in the trunk. The interior is roomy. It can easily accommodate five adult passengers or six if some are children. Theres enough legroom in the back so that no ones knees are hitting the back of the front seat, even when the driver has the seat back.

Buying a Cadillac SRX was a HUGE MISTAKE. I bought a used Cadillac SRX in January of 2019 and it was the worst mistake. I have had to spend over $4000 in repairs within the first year and Cadillac has been of NO HELP at all. In fact, they gave me overinflated prices for the repairs and incorrect assessment of the issue.Firstly, my rear bearing went. Nothing to be done about that except to fix it. Repairs were just under $800. Next month, my lift gate failed and dropped right on my head. After moving out of the way and letting the lift gate fall closed, it refused to open again. Not manually and not with any of the power buttons. We brought it into a dealership and after a $70 inspection, they said it was fused shut and they didn’t know why. They quoted my $450 to break open the rear lock. On top of that $450 price tag would be a new diagnostic to see what the root problem was. The mechanic said it could be the module, the struts, the shocks or even the motor. With all that, I would then need to reprogram the module for another $150. As I was deliberating what to do next, the Cue system (the touchscreen where everything relies on) stopped working. I had no central control over heating, music, navigation or anything else, on top of no trunk. I took my car to a mechanic who boasted previous work for Cadillac to see what his prices were. He charged me $0 to open my trunk! He used the manual release hidden behind the tail light. Why wouldn’t Cadillac do that?? Instead they tried to charge me $450 for a whole new lock system. After that, he told me that there was a problem that plagued a lot of SRXs. The moon roof drainage lines, when backed up, leak into the trunk of the SRX (under the spare tire area). So, we checked and yes indeed, there were 2-3 gallons of water in my trunk. The lift gate module and the motor were both submerged. So, in the end I had to pay for the 2 new struts, new motor and new module. I now have to go back to Cadillac to have the module reprogrammed (as only Cadillac can do it). They are charging me $150 for that, and offer NO help at all. Unfortunately, there will be a real chance of it happening again, as there was no way to fix the drainage problem. To fix my Cue system, Cadillac quoted me $1400. This mechanic I went to and replaced it while I waited and only charged me $400. That’s a $1000 difference in this one aspect alone. My car is only a 2014. It has 86,000 km which is just outside their warranty period. Cadillac boast their comfort, their quality and their care for their drivers. Well I say BULL. When I bought a Cadillac, I thought I would have a quality vehicle that would last, while providing a comfort that my children and I would love. That did not happen. At all. Buying a Cadillac was the worst car decision I have ever made and it has cost me thousands of dollars and dozens of hours in repair time. I will not buy a Cadillac again and I highly discourage anyone buying a SRX. It is not worth it. Sure, its pretty but mine is the sourest of all LEMONS.

My wife and I traded our Yukon Denali in on a new Cadillac XT5 on 2/21/2018. Four months after our trade, we got a correspondence from a Seattle detective indicating that our former Denali had just been involved in a criminal activity and wanted to question us about it since it was our vehicle. Turns out Larson Cadillac had not removed our license plates from the Denali and the detective thought we were the criminals. Last month we started receiving toll charges by mail related to our former Denali. Larson did take the proper, common actions to remove us from the Denali when we traded it in, and now say that its up to use to clean up the mess. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism as we havent had that same experience with any other dealer we have ever done business with?

Weve owned 3 CTSs in the last 10 years. Why so many? Well, we like to change for the sake of change. And in between noir Cads weve had Lexus, M-B, and BMW. THEY ALL HAVE THEIR PLUSES AND MINUSES. Its personal choice, but our used CTS was affordable to buy and is affordable to own (have you ever replaced brakes or suspension in a Beemer?). It seats 5, although rear seating can be cramped for long legs. Features are nicely appointed, and the body is good, with good trunk space. Our 13 has sunroof with electric retracting shade; good enough for even hot Arizona days. Never had even a pickup with our 3.0 V-6, which provides more power than needed for everything except burnouts!

My son was involved in an accident in my 2006 Cadillac STS in the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia. The accident was an off the road incident where son lost control of the car and impacted several trees with the side and front of the vehicle. The impact was severe enough to push the front bumper back to the radiator and front frame rail. The airbag did not deploy, and OnStar did not notify us of the accident. Though my son made it out with just mild injuries, if he hadnt we may not have known of the accident for hours. OnStar claims that they have other sensors other than the ones on the airbag deployment system. From the degree of impact they should have be notified. The airbag problem seems to fairly prevalent and there are several complaints of the failure. IT happened to my car, could it happen to yours?

It has been issue after issue with this car. The day I bought it the service engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and they just reset the computer. Long story short, it took over 30 days of it being in the shop to then finally get the rear differential replaced. I did online research and found some 1000 rear differential were faulty. The guy at the service department really didnt care. GM never recalled or made it public even after they knew. Then the horrible Pirelli tires started losing air pressure. Had 2 of them replaced, fast forward 1 1/2 years, I just replaced 3 of them replaced. The cherry on top is now the AC doesnt function properly.I have taken the car in several times and after several attempts they only replaced the compressor. The issue is still there and they are telling me theres nothing they can do. I am in Florida and cant afford a car without AC which cost well over 50k. Bottom line it has been issue after issue. I have gotten to the point where I want to trade it in and get a different brand. To GM: you really dropped the ball on the quality of parts you assemble Cadillac with.

2010 SRX Cadillac had wet rugs in back floor. Had repairs made to leaking sunroof, water also corroded back hatch lift... Replacement made ($1300). Next week engine problems... Car towed to dealer... Now water damage has shorted out, ruined fuel injection, plus whatever is controlled by module under front seat... GM knew the sunroof failure was a possibility but did not send any warning to customer so the roof could be checked occasionally. This failure of roof hoses, which Cadillac knew was possible has cost me, up to 6/24/17, over $3000. The dealer should have checked all areas that could have water damage the first time the car was in for sunroof repair. Anyway, I feel GM has mislead or failed to inform the SRX owners about a HUGE possible problem. WARNING TO CADILLAC OWNERS WITH SUNROOFS... CHECK FOR LEAKS OR CHANCE THE SERIOUS DAMAGE CAUSED BY WATER SILENTLY ENTERING YOUR CAR.

Cadillac is a great vehicle that have great potential for upgrades and personalization. I like how well the vehicle drives uphill and downhill and I like the controls in the console which I can easily push the button. The passenger side of this vehicle is great and impressive. Its a great car and I cannot wait to give it a drive again. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

This is great, and reliable choice of vehicle. It may be expensive to buy new, but just buy it used at a good price, and you will be more than happy. Its fancy, and makes you feel good. Its silver, with nice trim, and good rims. Its also a smooth ride. The name brand says it all, its definitely a caddy. There is many different choices you can pick from when it comes to upgrades and whatnot, but mine was bought used, so it came with whatever. You can also fit a good amount of people in the car, and still is comfortable because its such a nice car. It just depends on how large the other passengers are. Its worth every penny.

The low beam headlights are so dim they are useless. New bulbs do not help. Forced to drive with high beams. Faulty designed headlights. Numerous complaints with NHTSA and Cadillac with no fix. Several lawsuits have been filed over the SRX headlight issue across the country. These cars are dangerous to drive at night.

I have called dealers in my area, I have taken my SRX to the dealer and they cant find an issue and dont know of any recalls. If you drive an SRX at night you will experience the issue of NO LIGHTS on the dim option. I depend on the oncoming traffics headlights for me to see!!!! And Cadillac says thats my out of pocket expense, of course. They got their money and could care less about you so buying a caddy is just like buying another car when it comes to service. It isnt any different than buying a Kia. I will never buy another one!I have priced new bulbs with supposedly brighter output for a mere 99.00 and National Customer Service said unfortunately that would be my issue and expense, no recalls, no help, no nothing! You can read online hundreds of the same complaint, year after year and a settlement was done in Calif. and Florida only. Cadillac is just another vehicle and the service is just another service you will pay for.

Cadillac has a slight variety, more than in the past. Needs more smaller vehicles that resemble the old style. Some models are too big and use more gas than I prefer. I no longer feel that this brand has one signature look but several looks. Its very different from the original look of the long body frame. Certain models can fit significantly more passengers than others and really depends what your needs are to determine what is a good fit. They dont skimp on the upgrades and has many nice features and accents...navigation, backup camera, etc. Doesnt feel quite as luxury as it did in the past though.

I had submitted a review in June after having been told by Cadillac that I was SOL regarding the issue I had with the OEM tires on my 2017 XT5. Fortunately, I complained to my dealer and told them I wouldn’t be back after my lease was up. The dealer intervened on my behalf with Cadillac and shockingly, they were successful where I had not been....I received a check for full reimbursement for the Continental tires I replaced the OEM Michelin tires with. According to the lady with the dealership that handles warranty issues, there should not have been an issue with Cadillac refusing my claim as there had been a Bulletin issued regarding the problem with the tires!! So...I have a decision to make....I’m happy with my dealer, but still unhappy with Cadillac! I will at least consider another Caddy, but not a slam dunk for me like it once was! I will also consider others as well! Remember when you bought a Cadillac knowing you were buying quality? Not so much anymore. One would think the manufacturer would figure that out. Regardless, I felt I should tell “the rest of the story”!

Cadillac offers good and quite a few like vans, cars, suv and lots more. I like all of them. They are all great price and great design. I like the leather they use and the colors even like the textures. But they do need a few more updates, like cd updates. I am just ready for like video cd to play on the GPS too. But it was great experience. I really like big cars to fit more people. I need to fit at least 8 people and have space for more stuff on the back of my car trunk, big boxes too.

Its no big surprise that the 3.6 liter is one of the biggest turds in the industry. Another piece of European junk passed off as an American product. Ive been an auto tech for 20 years now and it hurts my heart to see what Cadillac has become. Im not the typical retiree caddy driver either, in fact Im not even 40 yet, but Ive loved Cadillac since I can remember. My dad had a 77 Eldorado when I was a kid and I absolutely loved that car. I know people like to crap on the Northstar, but Ive found that when taken care of, theyre incredibly reliable. I bought an 02 Deville back in 2012 when my son was born. It had 48k on it, and I drove it another 40k without any engine problems at all. Then a couple weeks ago some jerk decided to run a red light and total it out. During my 4 years, the only things I did were a couple wheel bearings, window regulators, a fuel level sensor and a intermediate steering shaft. That car was dead nuts reliable and never gave me a major problem. Now I will say that the 4.6 does not like to be overheated, and it does like to leak oil at the pan gasket. In one of GMs more head up the butt engineering feats, they ran the exhaust directly under the oil pan, so theres no way to drop the pan without engine removal...Brilliant. Now I would recommend the 2000-2005 Devilles because compared to other caddys, theyre inexpensive to fix. After 2005, forget it. Youre talking $1,200 headlight assemblies, bumper removal to change a headlight, cheap peanut brittle dashboard material, a fail prone drive-by-wire throttle system and a slew of TPM issues. Id never buy one. Id also never buy any GM vehicle with the Opel 3.6 liter. Its built in hell, by Satan and his minions. The Camaro also has it...Barf. Any of the newer caddys are electrical nightmares, and theres just something about a turbo charged, 4 banger in a Cadillac that doesnt sit well with me. Cadillacs need a big old V8. I cant justify over $80,000 for a motor thats also in all GMs rental car fodder. Cadillac is no longer the cadillac old timers remember. Theyre trying to compete with BMW and Mercedes, and now theyve succeeded because their products are just as crappy. As a final thought: I loved my Cadillac to death, BUT when I couldnt find another one that was clean enough and not beat to heck, I bought a 2000 Jag XJ8 Vanden Plas with 36k on the clock. What a difference, makes my Cadillacs interior look like and old 80s Mazda. I realized then that for a $60,000 luxury car, the interior was really built like garbage. But overall I did love that car, and I was sad to see her go. I feel for all of you experiencing hatefulness and bad luck with your 3.6s. I tell anyone thinking of buying one to just forget it.

Defects in car that I bought that was not disclosed to me - I’m speaking with you about a 2001 Cadillac at Naperville Auto and Cycle Outlet (NAC Outlet) at 1560 W. Ogden Ave, Suite #300 (Highway 34) in Naperville, IL, 60540-3998, phone number 847-329-0021, Dealer # 2698. On Monday August 6, 2012, my wife and I were told by the salesman that the 2001 Cadillac was one of their Certified Cars. He said that not all of their cars were certified. ** told us that meant that their mechanics had gone over the car and determined that it was in excellent mechanical condition. While test-driving the car, an indicator on the instrument panel displayed that the oil was at 87%. When brought to his attention, ** promised to have the oil changed and told my wife and I that they used only synthetic oil in the Cadillac (it was later proven not to be synthetic oil); and that if we had any more problems with the car, to let him know and he would take care of it. ** (the salesman) also told us that the car had Bluetooth, which I later discovered it does not have. ** also told us that the car had an active OnStar system. I later discovered that cars made before 2005 have an analog system, which means that I would have to purchase a $1,700.00 digital upgrade in order for the OnStar system to function. On our trip back to Fayetteville, TN, after stopping at the 3rd Toll station in IL, the indicator on the instrument panel came on again displaying 87% oil. This time the indicator went off as soon as we started moving and did not come back on again during the rest of the trip home. A few days later, I flew out to Phoenix, AZ to volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for 8 days. I had only driven the car a few days after that 13-hour drive back home from Naperville, IL. I returned home August 27, 2012. My wife told me that the oil light was illuminated again, as well as the check coolant light has displayed in the instrument panel, and that she had noticed a puddle under the Car.I immediately took the car to the Express Oil Change, where I have all my oil change. The cars oil indicator was at 87% oil and the check coolant indicator had come up on the instrument panel - after only 1,200 miles of driving the car, most of which was from the drive home from Naperville, IL to Fayetteville, TN. I asked the Express Oil Change mechanic to check the oil and coolant. They told me that the oil stick was dry and that the car had only 3 quarts of oil in it (the car takes 7 quarts). The mechanic told me that the engine was burning up. He then recommended that I park the car and not drive it. He told me that the car was dangerous and that I was lucky that it had not blown up. They captured the 3 quarts of oil and told me it was regular oil and not synthetic oil as I was told by the salesman, ** at the NAC Outlet. I then called the dealership and spoke to **. He told me to take the car to a mechanic and have their mechanic talk to his mechanic, so they could talk technical terms because it was all Greek to him because he was not a mechanic. I took the car that day to the local GM dealer, Carriage Chevrolet. They put the car on the rack and saw that there was an extreme amount of oil leaking from both head gasket covers, the oil pan and the oil sensor, as well as coolant leaking. A puddle of coolant had leaked onto the ground after only 4 to 5 minutes on the rack. After an exterior check of the engine, the GM mechanic stated that this was an ongoing problem because the coolant as well as the oil had turned to a thick grease type material. I was also informed of a 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines on August 27, 2004, where the motor was required to be pulled and numerous gaskets, seals, bolts, cylinders, bushing, plates, alignment pins, spark plug tube seals, main seal, flywheel bolts, both head gaskets, rod bolts, and many more items needed to be replaced.I called ** at NAC Outlet and let him talk to the GM mechanic, as requested. The mechanic explained the problems they saw externally and informed ** of the 10-page bulletin that GM had put out on the 2001 Cadillac SLS, with the Northstar engines. ** got very angry with the mechanic and me, and hung up the phone on us. I called ** back on August 28, 2012. ** said this was out of his hands and I would have to talk to the sales manager. He said he would have ** call me. I called to talk with ** on August 30, 2012 at 3:00 pm (the time ** told me ** would be in) and was told ** was not there.I called back on August 31, 2012, and again was told ** was not there. I finally talked to ** at about 5:00 pm that afternoon. ** told me to call him back on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. When I did, I was told again that ** was not there. At that point (September 4, 2012), I called the Illinois State Attorney General’s office. They told me they would send me a form to file a complaint against the NAC Outlet, which I later received. I called NAC Outlet again on September 6, 2012, at 5:45 pm and was told that ** was at the regional headquarters of GM and having a meeting with his buddy about my problems with the 2001 Cadillac SLS that I had purchased from NAC Outlet. On September 7, 2012, ** told me to call Jennie in GM’s Customer Service at (678) 240-9885 on Friday (September 8, 2012). When I did, I spoke to Araba in Public Relations, who told me that Jennie had never worked in Customer Service, but that she was her assistant and would give the information to the Customer Care Department and I would hear from them by Monday, September 10, 2012. I received an email on September 10, 2012 from Wes, GM Southeast Customer Activities Manager, stating that unfortunately, they could not help me with this issues since the vehicle was purchased from a non-GM dealer and that GM would review my service concerns if I would provide them with the Cadillac vehicle number and a list of issues. I responded that same day and have yet to hear anything back from the GM regional headquarters in Naperville, IL.I again called ** at NAC Outlet on September 11. He said he was scheduled to have a meeting with the NAC Outlet owners at 3:00 pm on September 13, 2012, and for me to call him back at 4:45-5:00 pm that afternoon, and he would have a resolution for me, and that he did not lie! I phoned back at 5:15 pm per **’s request. ** told me that he had completely forgotten to talk to them, but that one of the NAC Outlet owners would be in at 10:00 am the next morning (September 14, 2012), and he would get him in his office as soon as he came in, and to call him at 10:15 am. I called back per **’s request at 10:15 am on September 14, 2012 and was told ** was outside and to call back in 5 minutes. I called back at 10:30 am and was told ** was in the bathroom and to give him a few minutes. I called back at 10:45 and talked with **. He said that it was a total surprise to the one owner, about my problems with the car. I asked to speak with the owner who was there. ** said he would turn the baton over to the owner and have him call me right back. After not hearing from either of them 2 hours later, I called back at 12:45 pm. **, the salesman, told me that ** and both of the NAC Outlet owners were in a meeting with both doors closed, a barrier up, the shades drawn, and had asked not to be disturbed. Purchased Cadillac SRX, March 15, 2014 from Valley Cadillac; 3100 Winton Road South, Rochester NY 14623. We took possession of the Cadillac SRX March 17, 2014 from Valley Cadillac. Problems start at 3.5 months of ownership: End of June 2014/Beginning of July 2014 rattle noises heard from the back of the car when going over any uneven pavement, potholes, turns, entering and exiting the driveway. Depending on speed and the amount the vehicle flexes determines how soft or loud the noise is. Its not always consistent either. Thought it was the storage cover took out noises still heard. Sat in the back seat while partner drove and thought maybe it was the plastic around the glass tailgate since it looked broken at the seam. After a few weeks of listening to the noise, I decided to bring into the dealership. July 17th: After hours drop at Valley Cadillac.July 18th: I left a note for the Service Rep to look at the plastic around the glass of the lift gate since it appeared broken to me and to drive the car to listen for the noise. Maybe it was the broken plastic making the noise (?) July 18th: Service Rep called that afternoon and told me I could pick up the car. Service Rep explained the problem was the liftgate wedges making the noise. They tried to lubricate and adjust the wedges but it didnt work so they replaced the tailgate/liftgate wedges and test drove the car. They said it was fixed. The minute I drove out of the parking spot at the dealership I heard the noise. I went into talk with the Service Rep and he had the mechanic that worked on the car come out to talk with me. Since the wedges didnt appear to fix the problem, I asked if he looked at the plastic around the liftgate window. He said no. I climbed into the back and showed him the broken piece and wondered if that was the problem. He wasnt sure since the wedges are known to be the culprit. I scheduled another service visit the following week.July 22nd: After hours drop at Valley Cadillac. July 23rd: They kept the car till July 25th. They said a plastic part of the tailgate had not been delivered and would it be ok for them to keep another day. I agreed. July 25th: They said they fixed the problem. They replaced the plastic on the liftgate. They replaced the liftgate actuator since it was leaking hydraulic fluid. Replaced a lift gate strut since they said the trunk support was leaking and was weak. I picked the car up. On my drive home, the car started making the noise again. When I got home, I opened the tailgate and found that the plastic that was broken around the liftgate window was secured together as if glued (This must have been the plastic piece they fixed). The interior fabric header on the left and right side was frayed away from the tailgate rubber gasket and the interior left side plastic panel wasnt attached to the metal frame. I called the Service Rep and told him the noise was a little better but not fixed. I told him about the frayed fabric and plastic piece not attached. He was very sorry as he did not inspect the car before I picked it up since the Service Rep was busy with another customer when I arrived. Not an issue. I asked the Service Rep to have a loaner car brought to my house and they can take the SRX and I can drive them around in the SRX to hear the noise and show them the interior parts not attached. Service Rep agreed. July 29th: Mechanic came to my home with the loaner car. I showed him the interior pieces that were not attached and he explained that he had to take various pieces apart to make the last repairs and had difficulty putting them back together. We rode around in the car and the Mechanic heard the noise coming from the back of the car. He said there were 10 other vehicles in the shop with the same problem. He was working with another Mechanic to try and fix the problem since GM didnt have a recommended fix. Mechanic left with my car to take back to the dealership. July 30th: Get a call from the Service Rep asking if I ever had a problem with the front passenger window not going up. I said no. He said they are unable to get the window up and will have to fix it. July 31st: The Mechanic dropped the SRX off at my home and explained what they did. He explained that the front passenger window had been adjusted and was working properly. He opened the lift gate and showed me that all the interior plastic pieces and the fabric header were repaired. The wedges and liftgate striker were shimmed and re-adjusted. I pushed the button to lower the liftgate and just as it was about to close and lock, it popped open on its own. The Mechanic said he had opened and closed the liftgate 20 times at the shop without a problem. We were able to get the liftgate shut by holding the liftgate down so it would open up on its own. We drove around the neighborhood and I thought it was better but as soon as I turned up my drive, it made a noise. I called the Service Rep and told him it wasnt fixed. I had to keep the SRX as we were going away and needed to use the car. August 1st: On a weekend trip. Had to drive to Maryland and listen to the music pretty loud since the noise in the back is unbelievably annoying. We reached our destination and dropped bags at hotel lobby. My partner pushed the liftgate close button from the driver door and started to drive away. I forgot to tell him the gate might not shut and sure enough it opened on him. He tried several times to get it shut and finally it closed by pushing down on it. (What is the point of having an auto liftgate if you have to hold it down to get it to close). August 5th: Dropped the SRX off at Valley Cadillac in an attempt to fix the noise problem again and liftgate not staying shut. A GM representative was at Valley Cadillac and our Service Rep showed him the car and explained what was going on. The GM rep said that the tailgate/liftgate noise was a known problem with the Cadillac SRX. That its a design flaw and there is no fix for it since it doesnt happen on every SRX. Valley Cadillac had a case number generated with GM since this was an apparent problem. The liftgate close switch was replaced maybe due to corrosion in the switch that made the tailgate go up on its own. I also had them do an oil change and tire rotation since we were leaving to go out of town for the week. August 6th: The car was ready to be picked up but I didnt pick up till the 7th since we didnt have time to get it until then. August 7th: I met with the Service Manager who told me he would elevate the issue to the District Manager and that the District Manager would call me. The Service Manager explained it is a problem with the SRX and that there is another individual that is having the same issues. Others that have had the issue had been fixed or have chosen to ignore it.August 8th: On my way to work the Engine light came on. I called our Service Rep. The Service Rep said to bring it in since I was leaving to go out of town at 12 noon that day. I went to the dealership. I waited for the car and the Service Rep told me it was an actuator in the emissions that had gone bad but it was replaceable. Upon leaving the Service Rep told me that the actuator wasnt broke but that it was a hose that was disconnected, probably from when the car was manufactured. At this time, I told the Service Rep that I had been patient but that I was losing my patience. He told me that he understands the car makes noises and that a luxury car such as this should not make them. He also stated that most people can ignore the noise but understands I am more sensitive to it, as he would be too. Seriously??? The car is a $47,000.00 piece of junk.August 9th: Upon arriving at our vacation destination, the front passenger side window would not go up. I called the dealership but service was closed. I called our sales rep and left a not so nice message on his voice mail. He did call us back and suggested we take the car to the nearest dealership (which was 1.5 hours away) we explained we were on vacation so we had the car towed to the dealership. We couldnt pick the car up until that Thursday 8/14 so we didnt have a car for 4 days while on vacation. August 15th: I called the Service Manager to tell him the District Manager never called me. August 18th: The District Manager finally called and I explained to him what I wanted. I want my down payment back and you take this car and cancel my lease.August 21st: Our sales rep calls and tells us we can come to the dealership and pick out any new Cadillac. I told him I didnt want another Cadillac. If I wanted another Cadillac sedan, I would have bought one in the first place and I dont trust the SRX enough to want to ever drive another one. August 22nd: I spoke with the District Manager and told him I was very unsatisfied. I explained again what I wanted. He acted like I never told him that. August 25th: The District Manager said he escalated this matter to his Regional Manager. I asked for his name and contact information and I was told the Regional Manager doesnt deal with the customer. At this point, I called the Executive branch at GM and a case number was generated with one of the customer service reps. September 5th we take a weekend trip to visit friends in PA. We arrived at their house, close the tailgate and it pops open again! 3 times! So I call the customer service rep at the executive branch so she can make a note of it in the case file. It has been 6 weeks since this issue was escalated to the District Manager and 4 weeks since it was escalated to the Executive Branch and no one has been able to give me any decision. We leave the car in the garage and dont drive it unless we have too. At this point we are wasting money on a car with known problems and problems that just appear out of nowhere. Valley Cadillac has written this off as GMs problem and GM is doing nothing to make this car go away. We need help! In Summary: Tailgate/Liftgate makes noises that sound as if the gate is not shut or the vehicle is not structurally sound. GM knows of the problem but wont fix it and tells us we just have to live with it. In for service 4 times for the same issue. Tailgate /Liftgate doesnt always shut automatically without having to hold it shut. Front Passenger Winder is fixed??? Will it break again?? The dealership has shoddy at best workmanship. Poor vehicle quality = poor resale. I would never be able to get rid of this vehicle on my own. GM does not care that every day they dont make a decision to take this vehicle back its costing me money. All we want is our down payment of $2800.00, return the vehicle and rip up the lease. It has been 6 weeks since this issue was escalated to the District Manager and 4 weeks since it was escalated to the Executive Branch and no one has been able to give me any decision.

Cadillac DHS 2003 - Just read a comment by an owner of a 2003 Cadillac and I wanted to respond with What are you doing with my car? I have had to replace the transmission, rack & pinion, numerous window regulators, A/C compressor etc and now the intake manifold gasket. One would think that after building cars for a hundred years, and the humiliation of putting (the once revered) Cadillac name on the Cimarron, that taking some pride in engineering components shouldnt be asking too much.

We have enjoyed our Cadillac SRX, but have the headlight fogging issue. We were out of the country when they issued the recall but missed it when we came back. They stated basically that we were out of luck. Earlier this year they offered $200 towards a $1200 repair bill to replace both headlight assemblies. We cant see with the headlights on low beam and have to place them on high beam. In checking with Cadillac today they are standing by their offer. We will not buy another Cadillac and will be telling anyone we encounter that is looking to purchase a luxury car to stay away from Cadillac because of their lack of support. I have had much better success from Lexus and Ford with issues like this. I will stay with these brands.

I purchased a Cadillac SRX and was very excited at the time. Little did I know I was fixing to have regrets. Cadillac used to have a great reputation but not anymore. I have a car that only has 49000 miles. Bought it brand new and its been in service dept 3 times each time for a week for their poor craftsmanship. They could care less how long you go without a vehicle. Will not provide a loaner. I know friends with a Lexus, BMW get loaners and treated like they care. The problem is Cadillacs faulty design in the sunroof water cant drain properly so it runs into the car shorting out electrical. This happened not once but twice. Now I cant see at night unless my lights are on bright because of anther faulty design. Headlight covers retain moisture and become faded and cloudy. A class action lawsuit is ongoing but they are telling me I have to pay $1000 out of my pocket. I dont Think so. When I wreck because of this a lawsuit will be placed on Cadillac. They cant pick and choose who they will take care of. As Im typing this my car sits in the service dept while they dont care. Johnson motor co wont even call back. I may as well bought a cheap piece of **. It wouldnt have been any worse but better. I wouldnt have paid as much to be SCREWED!

Side sensors and associated hardness corrosion on a Cadillac XTS 2014. Totally unacceptable especially for a car driven in an area without rain and generally without moisture. The bill to replace them come up to about $2K. DO NOT BUY JUNK GM CARS. This is just the most recent problem I have. Shame on the company and their management for such poor quality. No wonder bankruptcy is looming.

I bought a new 2011 Escalade ESV. The rims are rusting and flaking, and the chrome trim package is rusting. Cadillac and the dealership’s response is that its from chemicals put on the road and its not their problem. My Escalade never is dirty. When I drive on snowy roads, its washed immediately. In 45 years of owning vehicles, Ive never had a vehicle with rust problems. I bought an $82,000 Escalade. I have rust issues and I have lived in snow country all my life so I know all about chemicals on the roads. This is my last Cadillac. Dont make the same mistake I did. Stay away from Cadillac. I thought that at least Cadillac would come back with an offer to replace rusting rims and trim at their cost or a discounted price. They made no attempt to rectify the problem. Cadillac customer service very poor and Cadillac is not concerned about your problems.

I bought the car used and it was a cruiser and it was very roomy on the inside. Its very reliable, and I did not have to worry about if I was going to make it back home or not. Even though it was a boat ride to on the outside it was a very good car to me. The interior was in the best of shape. It did not have any holes in the seats. It was able to fit me, my daughter and her father, and our friends and their 3 kids, so that is 8 people and 1 of those 8 was in a car seat.

I am a owner of a 2012 Cadillac SRX. My husband and I had started to notice our low beam lights getting dim to the point that driving at night is next to impossible without the high beams and we were trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get our vehicle’s lights repaired thinking it was just something that happened over time. Recently 02/24/20 we received a letter in the mail that GM was offering to reimburse customers up to 800.00 per headlight who had spent money out of pocket to get the issue corrected. Well my first thought was great we don’t have to worry about how we are going come up with the money because GM is acknowledging that this is an issue on their end and we could just take our vehicle to the dealership show them the letter and they would fix our lights. WRONG! When I called the dealership we were told GM would NOT pay upfront for our repairs although they are AWARE of the issues with the SRX’s headlights. They are only willing to reimburse after repairs are done which could cost the customer up to 1,600.00. So my question next was what if the customer cannot afford the expense upfront? GM’s answer was, SORRY WE CANNOT HELP YOU....I cannot explain how taken advantage of I felt, Shame on you GM. You acknowledge upfront the problem is moisture related issues causing headlights that you placed in these vehicle to fail but you will only reimburse those who can afford to have them fixed first on their own if then.... During research I read reviews where some people have been waiting months to get their money back. I am not sure what is going to happen in my case but for anyone reading this review please beware. It is unacceptable how GM treats its customers and their their regard for customer safety. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them!

So far I have had nothing but problems with my 2009 CTS. Ive gotten to the point where I absolutely regret even seeing it for sale on the lot, I wish I had bought ANYTHING else. I bought the car last year with around 80k miles on it. The first thing that should have been a sign that their customer service was in the toilet was when my local Cadillac dealer did a $100 oil change for me. They failed to attach the rock shield to the bottom of the car and after it tore off sounding like all hell breaking loose in their lot, they blamed me for my car missing a screw.. underneath... like I daily check those screws. And if it was missing why the heck did it stay on the car until they worked on it? My car is still naked under there. Thanks Cadillac. After a month of having the car I get the check engine light. I connect to OnStar who tells me my Auxiliary Water pump is going out. $250 later thats all better. After two months my rear door locks stopped working, I called the dealer and gave up when I was quoted $400 in labor alone. Fast forward another two months and now my car consistently overheats. Additionally I got that bad water pump code AGAIN (gosh those things are made well) - $250 AGAIN and its all better. My Daytime running lights go on and off randomly, one at a time. I look so great in my car. No one even has a clue as to why this is happening. Now my Forward adaptive lighting has started to malfunction. The passenger side bulb has turned completely purple, which sounds cool but none of the other ones are. I didnt mind replacing it myself so I started looking into it. So I have to remove the entire front of the car to change the headlight. OK no problem, Im no Einstein but I can handle some screws right? That wouldnt be a problem if I could find the bulb.I contacted Customer Service and they were anything but friendly. I tried to get help finding out where to get the bulb, but the guy copied and pasted me a bunch of website addresses that I had already searched to no avail trying to find the headlight assembly. Then asked me what I was hoping to get from contacting them, what an **. I just WANT A PART NUMBER. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?At this point Ive decided I HATE my car and Cadillac in general. I thought they had really shifted gears, and I really enjoyed my older V which is why I bought this car, but boy howdy this is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. So now I have a 2009 Cadillac that I cant lock the doors on or drive at night, and Im scared to take it out of town because Im afraid the mystery auxiliary water pump will strand me. Im borrowing a friends 2000 Toyota to make my trip. Is this really the new Cadillac? I feel duped, tricked and stuck with this thing. If anyone from Cadillac happens to see this, Id love to know where to get that bulb. Im visually impaired in one eye so having two headlights would be great. Let me know.

2011 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection Delegance - Anyone who buys this year/model car should beware of the issues. I was fortunate enough to unload this car and I couldnt be happier that I am rid of it. It was in the shop at least once a month after the warranty was over. I could not afford to keep taking it to the mechanic for one thing after another and there are no decent warranties available to cover it over 60k. I drive a lot (obviously its a 2011 and it had over 70k when I got rid of it). Cadillac should offer a much longer warranty if they are going to sell a crossover or any other vehicle that needs repairing as much as this. There is no piece of mind with this car. The navigation was always broken and the pop up screen is a joke. The starter was fixed twice, the water pump was bad, the belts were bad, it overheated constantly, it was making thumping noises toward the end so I knew the transmission was about to go. If Cadillac considers elegance as waiting for another tow truck, then they did a good job. I couldnt wait to get my new Land Rover but I dont think I will ever get out from under that Cadillac.

2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles
2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles on it. I wanted a big car to be comfortable sitting in traffic. The Car was a Florida car brought up to NYC for trade-in on a Toyota Avalon. The dealer indicated the car had all service records from the date of purchase, so i bought the car. It was a REALLY nice car to drive, big beautiful bench seats, lots of power and great on gas. I averaged 25MPG which in a cruiser was something unheard of at the time. But at about 75K miles, all the beauty was left behind. The car ended up with overheating issues, i brought it to Cadillac who indicated that this was a known issue on the Deville and DHS of those years, that the NorthStar had issues with the head studs sealing incorrectly and leaking. They told me that the engine would need to be replaced, because of the design flaw that caused the engine head to warp (Why no recall?). I ended up buying a NHRA approved Dragster Radiator and cooling fan and wired it up to a toggle switch, after checking with multiple forums, it turns out that this is NOT the case, it is a flaw in the cooling system, that if caught early enough can be corrected. This worked for the remainder of the life of the car, but in that time, I replaced: All power window motors with Toyota Camry motors, which lasted the length of the car, replaced the thermostat with a wide open version that would constantly circulate the coolant. Replaced the stereo, as it shorted out, due to water leaking into the car when it rained, which used to set the alarm off while driving in the rain. Replaced the Torque converter with a high performance one from an LT1 Vette. And for kicks after the exhaust rotted off put two flowmasters on it. While it was a nice looking car, it died at 103K miles with a fiery death due to an electrical fire from water leaking into the car from under the windshield onto the electronic instrument cluster. (Ironically after the fire my fans and radiator still worked) Guess I wire better than GM. My complaint with GM is why they cant build cars better? I have had Toyotas go 400K+ miles with only 1-2k dollars of actual maintenance needed for the life of the car. I cant understand why people keep buying them. I for one would buy another Cadillac Deville, but only as a weekend tinker project, or possibly a demo derby car, since fire typically gets the crowd roaring!

I purchased a brand new Cadillac SRX in 2012. I have just a little over 50,000 miles and already I need an alternator which is costing me a little over $600. Someone should be responsible other than myself. Theres always a recall on these cars. I think as much as they cost the warranty should be longer and your parts should not go out as quickly as they do. A brand new car that has only been driven 52000 miles and your alternator is going out. GM should be responsible all the maker of the alternator.

Adding a follow up to my previous post regarding my CTS, the radiator blew the main hose right out of it and took out the transmission lines. The car has less than 60,000 miles, but because the warranty is up, Cadillac refused to accept responsibility for poor quality and a defect in the radiator. I paid $1,225.00 to fix the problem and put only 300 miles on the car before it was leaking transmission fluid. The GM garage sent a wrecker after the car (all the new parts were under warranty) and the problem they found was a defective new radiator. Everything needed to be replaced again! Interesting that this genuine GM part was defective, but Cadillac refuses to accept responsibility for the first one. I have read other consumer reports of the same thing happening to other CTSs. How many does it take for a recall to be issued and for Cadillac to acknowledge the problem?

I was a proud owner of a Cadillac SRX until I had to pay to repair a manufacturer flaw in the transmission. I know that Cadillac is aware of the problem because they made a part to fix it, but thought so little of their customers. They left us the bill to fix it. I will not purchase another car from a company that will leave their mistakes for customers to pay for. I feel I am owed a refund for the repair. Its Cadillacs responsibility to sell a car without defects.

New run flat tires installed on 2016 Cadillac. If they get a flat you must buy and install a new tire at a cost of $300.00 plus they cannot be repaired and this is not considered a road hazard defect under warranty description. This is not made known to the buyer as a fact until you get a flat that should cost about $30.00 to repair on all older type tires. The sad part is if you get another flat tire by a nail or anything else you would have to buy another new tire. The car does not come with a spare or tools to change your tire.

Cadillac ats 2013 - Vehicle makes loud clunking noise when in drive and at a stop. Feels as if engine is shaking. For 50,000 miles and engine noises to appear seems as if Cadillac is a rip off. The worst, the dealer doesnt help unless you pay for them to diagnose what is so loud and clear. GM needs to get their crap together. Cadillac vehicles are beautiful, but will become ugly to an owner that has to spend so much money on an issue that is obviously from the maker. How do you expect to compete with BMW?

I bought a 2009 CTS top of the line model in March of this year 500 miles after I left the dealership the check engine light came on. I put it in Levis Cadillac in Slidell, LA, for two weeks they had it and said that it was a problem with the coolant area of the car and that they had fixed it. Well in two weeks the light came on again, GUESS WHAT, the same problem. OK back to the shop I go, this time it was the end of April and they had the car for (three) weeks. I picked the car up in or on May 20th drove out the service dept. I went 25 miles, THE LIGHT CAME AGAIN !!! So I finished my business in New Orleans, LA and took it back to the Levis Cadillac. They said they would call Cadillac Technical for help. They told them to replace the same parts as before and it should be fixed. It has taken them and Cadillac until yesterday which was JUNE 25TH to so called fix the car. I picked it up at 10:30 - got on the Highway to go to the VA Hospital in New Orleans. NOW THIS IS THE PART I JUST CANT BELIEVE, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN on my way to my doctors appointment. When I got done at the V A I drove straight back to the dealership service department and they said they would be happy to look at but its the same problem, OH MY GOD. Could someone help me out. I bought this Cadillac CTS and have only put 750 miles on it since. The car only has 46,058 miles on it! I feel like a total jerk. Ive owned 5 Cadillacs and I also own a 06 STS4, and I have had all kinds of problems with it. Well I think its time for me to reevaluate my GM LOYALTY. This sucks.......

My son graduated from college last month and was lucky enough to find a job prior to graduating. He bought his first nice car, a beautiful 2005 STS Cadillac. We noticed that the car was burning oil. In 4,000 miles, the car went through 7 quarts of oil which is unbelievable for a car with 62,000 miles and had been serviced 36 times by Cadillac dealerships according to the faux report. The dealership tells us that the car needs new pistons and rings. The cost is $3,500 to fix the vehicle. When we bought the car, it had a $1,500 guarantee if there were any problems with the car. They do this on different brands of used cars. I emailed GM Cadillac division and received an email that they were happy to help and would contact us the next day which they did. I explained to them that there has been multiple complaints about that model and that this was a defect and I would hope they could help my son with the cost of the overhaul. The second person I talked to told me that the most they could help was the $1,500 from the dealership like they were involved which this was already offered from the lot where we bought the car. I then asked for the supervisor whose name is Roy. I told him that I have never heard of a car with 66,000 miles going through 7 quarts of oil in 4,000 miles and especially a high-end car. The bottom line is he said there’s nothing he could do about it. I realized that there is probably nothing that can be done but I am in customer service for a large company and cant believe that they offered no help especially with social media nowadays.

No Spare Tire! Sorry I bought this SRX. I bought a Cadillac SRX brand new From Massey Cadillac North in Orlando. After all the paperwork I was handed the keys and the salesman and I went over the car. I asked, Where was the spare tire stored? The salesman said, It did NOT have a spare tire just a small compressor with adhesive for a flat tire. Caught up in the excitement I left but called the next day. I asked the price of a spare tire and was told $800.00. I asked why so much, the dealer spokesman said, Because we have to make the hole bigger in the rear storage compartment.I just bought a spare tire kit last week online from a Cadi dealer and paid $600.00. There was a tire, rim, jack, and jack handle everything else was FOAM painted black. What a rip-off. I have been buying Cadillacs all my adult life. I am very unhappy with what GM has done to consumers to lessen the weight to meet standards and at the same time reduce costs and the hell with the consumer. I think the dealer should have done better by me. I am done with buying Cadillacs. I will keep my SRX until... Thank you.

I am a 75-year-old widow who has owned Cadillacs for 30+ years. On August 14, 2012, I rear-ended a truck pulling a trailer that was stopped at a stop light. I had severe front-end damage to my 2011 Cadillac DTS. I was wearing my seat belt; however, the air bag did not deploy. I hit and bent the steering wheel, which caused a severe concussion, five broken ribs, and facial lacerations. I was in intensive care and in the hospital for nine days. I then went to a rehabilitation center for 20 more days. I am now home, in pain, and walking with the aid of a walker. I would like an explanation for why I purchased an expensive car to get me where I needed to go and keep me safe if the main safety mechanism wouldnt work. I will never again sit behind the wheel of a Cadillac and I will encourage others not to as well.

I bought a car from our agency in Dubai Liberty. They sell GM Motors cars. I bought a Cadillac CTS 2011 V6. In the beginning, the car is great and without any problem. It’s the best car I ever drove in my life and I gave it as a gift for my wife. She was more than happy to have a CTS. She drove it till the first service. We took it to the service in Dubai (Garhood branch). After the service by 3 weeks, we were coming from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and driving at normal speed of 130 km/h, then suddenly the we heard a bomb sound and a smoke coming from the engine. Thank God we stopped and no one crashed us from back. The street was full of oil from the damaged engine. We called the street help and then we took the car to the service at Garhood branch in Dubai. And after a day they called us and said, “Sorry, the engine is damaged. We will send an approval to GM mother company to change the engine. But we don’t want to repair it because it wasn’t our mistake.” The car must be changed and they ignored me. Kindly support me in this.

It took me a while to just figure out what I was really looking for in a Cadillac because their cars were all good quality models. When I narrowed it down a bit, I still had trouble deciding other features of the car which were also varying. I got a sleek, classy DeVille in a dark blue color that isnt too flashy but still retains the prestige of a cadillac. It has a tan leather interior with heated seats as well as settings that can stored for up to 2 drivers. Its passenger capacity is up to 5 people with a driver, passenger seat, and 3 people in the back, although it might be a bit of tight squeeze, but that has not been an issue. The actual specs and parts of the car were not really a great concern of mine considering I wanted to keep the car the way it is for a while.

I have a 2013 Cadillac SRX. Right at 52k, my cue touchscreen started not working and then eventually stopped working altogether. First they say GM will offer some cost assistance. 7 weeks later the RCU is still on back order. After several complaints to Cadillac they say its the first that they heard of it. We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Deale
We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Dealer Taylor Automotive in Toledo, OH. My wife is the primary driver and she drives only 4,000 to 5,000 miles per year. A few months after the purchase the battery was dead after not being driven for only 7 days. The salesman then advised us that the amount of electronic devices in the vehicle will drain the battery in a week or less. Even though he was aware of my wifes minimal driving, no mention of the inadequate battery support system in the vehicle was made until our first dead battery experience. It has occurred 5 times since it was purchased. This means that we must carry a jump start battery pack inside the car (not the trunk) and a tool to remove the key lock cover from the drivers door just to get access to the interior to pop the hood in order to do the jump start. When leaving the vehicle at an airport for a one week or longer trip, you can be assured that the car will require a jump start. How could General Motors have done such a poor, incomplete, inadequate engineering job on what they classify as a luxury vehicle for which we paid over $50,000.00? We are looking into the Lemon Laws in OH and we will pursue Legal Action if General Motors fails to correct this problem which is certainly causing many Cadillac owners the same problem. There are many other true Luxury vehicles on the market that do not have this problem because the engineering departments of those car companies figured a way to cut current drain while the vehicle is not being driven or they provided a battery electrical system that is designed to support normal vehicle operation without starting the vehicle every few days just to keep the battery charged. This problem should not exist in any automobile, much less one that represents General Motors top line brand and in this case the largest and most expensive sedan vehicle. I would caution anyone considering the purchase of any new Cadillac vehicle to question the dealer extensively and make sure the car you purchase or lease doesnt have this inherit problem. Even if you are a long term Cadillac driver you should look seriously at other Luxury Vehicle options.

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L engine with less than 87,000 miles on it. About 2 weeks ago, a screw had somehow backed itself out of one of the gears and caused major damage to my vehicle. The valve cover is shredded, cracked cylinder head and a piece broke off the cast iron timing chain cover. I reported it to Cadillac in hope of them standing by their product and customer loyalty and in turn they have said its not covered under the powertrain warranty. At Cadillacs request, I had the car towed to Don Massey Cadillac because they were supposed to have a reputation for good customer service. That is very wrong. They took almost 5 days to look at my car and give a diagnosis. Now the mechanic that is going to fix the car is on vacation and has three weeks of work before he could get to my car. If the dealership would have looked at the car in a timely manner the mechanic could have looked at it sooner and at least got the parts ordered. I am now going to be at least another month without my car because Cadillac wasted my time. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac or GM product. This car has never been abused or had modifications done to it. Every oil change has had synthetic oil put into it. I am very dissatisfied with the Cadillac brand of luxury. Unfortunately the 2011 excellent DTS Cadillac we owned was in a head on with a loose horse and my husband was killed and me suffering injuries for 3 years. Needless to say that Cadillac was totaled. It was my mother’s day gift from my love. To top that in 2 months I lost my only grand daughter and her 3 year old girl in a horrific wreck roll over auto accident where they drowned in the bayou of Louisiana. It was so devastating to where all I wanted to do was die. Then 2 weeks later lost 3 very long time best friends in weird tragic ways.Rented a car for 3 months then found this incredible awesome 2013 Cadillac XTS 4. Only 6,000 miles from previous owner. I was happy to say the sales rep got me through to the purchase and it was my Miracle Car. I have loved it with all my heart and had more compliments than ever on an auto from young kids to people so old they could hardly walk with their canes or walkers. It is an absolute beauty.BUT now... along with so, so many I found online with exact same problem, most threatening, suggesting or planning to file a class action suit, I too am so distraught because the CUE SYSTEM is OUT! It began (like most others) at the bottom level, then in short time, maybe 2 weeks, the entire system went out. NO navigation, no radio, no Sirius XM, which Ive paid a year in advance for. No car phone, no emergency contact info. The car was purchased as a luxury with all of this in it, but now it is NOT working! I suggested to the big online group to let’s ask Cadillac to do a RECALL since so many have or will have this same problem, trying to talk them out of a class action suit.I do NOT want to make a bad name for Cadillac as I LOVE the dealership, the SERVICE representatives and mechanics and the dept. Their services are the BEST ever! The salesman who sold it to me was the BEST ever. Im 77 so Ive purchased a lot of cars and dealt with a lot of salesmen! Will you PLEASE, PLEASE help me to get this CUE Infotainment Center replaced? I was told by dealership it would be a minimum of $1,200 and others were told up to $1,900.We are appalled that our warranties and extended warranties do not cover replacement and there is no fix for it. Warranties state that the only classification is RADIO and radio is not covered. Thanks for your help. Hopefully to assist me in pulling out of this deep depression and downhill slide with this all now happening on top of everything else. This system is really the only companionship I had when traveling alone.

And it usually had a royal color in the inside like a nice wood. You can alter it by changing the wood and spray color or the cars color. Some have a clock in them and nice back up checkers. Over 2 weeks ago, the brakes on my 2007 Cadillac DTS suddenly felt soft as I was going down a hill. This was immediately followed by the following warning signs lighting up on the dash: Check Brake System, Check Brake Assist, Check Traction Control. I managed to get the car down the hill without going over the edge and took it to the GM dealer in town for repair. They advised me that 3 of the brakes needed to be replaced but that there was one part they did not have in stock. After a week of them being unable to locate a dealer in Kentucky that had this part, they were allowed to access GMs system where GM locates and arranges for shipment of the needed part. More than 2 weeks have now passed and no part has been forthcoming, nor do I have any idea when (if???) the part will arrive. So meantime, I and the dealership are a captive audience to this. I would trade the damn thing in but not for another GM product; except, of course, I cant move it as it has no brakes. It is just stuck there in the dealers service department while GM has failed to find and provide the needed part. What happened to the law that says auto manufacturers must make and retain parts for every vehicle they make within a ten-year period? I am not sure how to proceed from here as to if it would do any good to complain to the federal government with regards to lack of available parts or whether to go see a lawyer.

Leased a 2014 Cadillac in November of 2014. Had no issues with the car up until March of 2016, when use of the air conditioner resulted in a strong musty odor being blown in my face. Took the vehicle to the local Cadillac dealership, Holman Cadillac, in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where I was told the musty odor was a result of mold development on the air conditioning evaporator. After treatment at HOLMAN Cadillac with some type of chemical they used, the vehicle was left reeking of a strong chemical odor. Holman service personnel told me the odor was not harmful, and would dissipate in a few days, but it did not. Six days later with the first use of the air conditioner I ended up at the emergency room after coughing and spitting up blood with use of the vehicle. Holman has denied that there is any chemical odor in the vehicle whatsoever, in spite of a GM inspector, an industrial hygienist, and another Cadillac service manager confirming the chemical odor. GM has refused to allow any Cadillac dealership to do warranty work on the 11,000 mile vehicle, as one can only presume they are concerned about possible litigation due to their defective vehicle. At this point, I have a vehicle with no HVAC system, and I am forced to drive in hundred plus degree weather with NO A/C, and in downpours with the windows open due to NO DEFROSTER. Nobody at HOLMAN Cadillac or at GM could care less if I live or die, as I have now been HOSPITALIZED a second time after an attempt to use the AC with the windows down as temperatures reached 95 degrees. I am now forced to go buy another vehicle just to go to work, as it is unsafe to drive the Cadillac. I hope that someone can benefit from what Im typing here as I had to type it four times.

I purchased a 2015 SRX with $13,000 miles on it. Within the last six months, the CUE screen wont work on the bottom, the wiper fluid motor stopped working, had to replace a fuel injector and just yesterday the motor on my right passenger side window went out. I drove to work in the pouring rain with my window partially down. I have had several vehicles in my lifetime, but this is by far THE WORST! These cars are not cheap but they sure have all kinds of things go wrong with them. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac!

We bought this car used in 2013. For the most part, we have been satisfied with the car. Wish trunk was bigger. Mid 2014, begin to have problem with key getting stuck in the ignition and could not remove it. If I turned on and off several, would eventually come out. Had to be careful to make sure everything was turned off (radio, heater) or battery would be drained if left very long. Gas gauge would register empty. Received a recall in September 2014. Took in and they could not do anything because the key was stuck in the ignition and they could not get it out. Took in the next week and something was done the keys. The following week, the key again stuck after returning from grocery. Forgot to go back out and try to get out. The next morning, battery was drained, called for jump start. Could not jump. New battery purchased in November 2014. Had to have car towed to GM dealer on Friday. Had to call on Monday to see what status was. Nothing had been done. Electronic control module was replaced as no communication could be made with the car. Cost, $693.00. Was advised that there could be other issues that occur after this. Anyone know what these issues could be?

Glad I had purchased an extended warranty!! Over $1200.00 for the work!! And yes, it is a 3.6 engine. Acted like the battery was low for quite a while before I took it in for repair. As I had a new battery, I thought it was starter trouble. Overall, the car is very dependable, I have had it for three + years now. First repair done.

We leased a Cadillac ATS turbo 2013. Thank God that we leased this vehicle and not purchased it. The car exterior is very appealing. The interior is not bad, the CUE system is horrible to operate while driving. Handling is very good, acceleration is excellent. But we have been having problems with this vehicle ever since we got it. It had front end problems twice, the radio is basically obsolete since its always acquiring the HD signal and is not pleasant to hear, already had about 7 recalls on it. Every couple of months the car goes back to the shop for different problems. As a matter of fact its in the shop now. There was noise coming from the engine and they found loose screws. The car had a terrible vibration on rear window area so they notified me that all 4 rims are bent due to potholes. Now how can that be possible? I have owned about 15 different vehicles and not one of them ever had a problem with a bent rim nevermind all 4 of them. My opinion is that these rims were made with cheap materials and have a design fault. This has to be the worst vehicle we have ever had and theres no pleasure in driving it. Maybe I got a lemon but I have received no help from the dealership.

On October 26th, 2012, our 2009 Cadillac SRX was hit by a kicked-up rock on a local tollway. The cargo area window on the drivers side was completely shattered. This window also houses the antennae for the navigation system. The SRX model was redesigned beginning with the 2010 models so this window is no longer used. GM has had this window on backorder for months, if not years. It does not have a manufacturer for this window, and obviously has no plans to obtain a manufacturer. There is no ship date! I will never purchase another Cadillac or GM product and I will make it my mission to spread the word about the totally unsatisfactory experience Ive had with this brand.

When I expressed my frustration to the service manager, he told me, Well, GM makes the car; we have nothing to do with that. I responded that they sold me the car. I purchased a brand new 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.5. I took for a test drive and in motion, it rides well. However, when this vehicle is at a stop sign or stop light or general stop. Vehicle starts to shake, vibrate and misfires. This vibration is so annoying it makes this nice looking vehicle appear to be a clunker. There is a so-called software fix or technical bulletin for this problem. However, it did not work for this vehicle. So I am forced to take vehicle to Better Business Bureau and possible through Floridas Lemon Law Arbitration. I am so disappointed in Cadillac and GM . GM wrote on final repair attempt that they think this is a normal characteristic for this vehicle at this time. I would steer away from Cadillac ATS and this is certainly my last American vehicle. Unfortunately, GM and Cadillac need to learn how to make 4 cyl. engines.

First, I will start by saying that I LOVE my car...and this has been my 3rd Cadillac that I have owned...but I guarantee that it will be my LAST! I have a 2013 Cadillac ATS and as of last August (2017), the CUE System stopped responding to touch on the screen. Therefore, like thousands of others out there...I am unable to use the airflow controls (feet, face, etc) as well as the Navigation because you have to confirm your location ON THE SCREEN which will not work! Of course this conveniently stopped working just after the warranty expired on the vehicle. Of course the only option is to have the CUE system/screen replaced at a lovely price of $1,200-$1,500 and that alone is not a guaranteed fix. I have seen so many comments from other owners who have replaced this 2-3 times for it to only continue to FAIL!!! There are thousands of vehicles out there with this exact same issue yet GM has done absolutely nothing!!! Youre a huge corporation... Stand behind it, take care of the problem and maybe you will retain your loyal consumers. Do nothing and you will inevitably lose them.

This is all about the Cadillac CUE system. You will never realize just how
This is all about the Cadillac CUE system. You will never realize just how integrated into the CUE system these vehicles are until you lose complete use of the CUE system. I purchased a 2015 Cadillac SRX and to be honest it was the only vehicle Id ever sat in and felt like it was meant to be. I was living in NY State at the time and had a Jeep that I drove most often so the Cadillac get too many miles on it or lots of drive time. However, when driving the Cadillac the CUE system would often lag like a slow computer. I did not drive it often enough to see it as a huge issue and just dealt with it which I now regret. Flash forward three years and Im moving back to California and I decide I can get rid of my Jeep as I will no longer need said all Terrain vehicle and was excited to be able to drive my Cadillac regularly. I decided to drive my Cadillac from NY to CA and not long into my cross-country trip did I start to worry about the way the vehicle was functioning. On day number two of my drive the CUE system became unresponsive. I lost the use of navigation and all features linked to the CUE. In doing so I realized just how many of the luxury features we pay for are integrated into said CUE system. In any case my vehicle was under warranty so I made an appointment to have the CUE system repaired. Id taken my vehicle in before to have the oil change and the customer service was unmatched. Taking my vehicle in to have the CUE was also an amazing experience and the CUE was replaced. I was nearing the mileage allowed before the warranty expired but I spoke with my Cadillac representative about the issues Id had with the CUE and explained my concern that my warranty was nearing expiration and wanted to know if this recent CUE replacement had a guarantee or warranty if it happens again. I was told as long as it is within a reasonable amount of time. Flash forward to four months after the CUE system in my Cadillac was replaced and my warranty has expired. The CUE goes black and is stuck on a reboot cycle with the screen constantly trying to turn on. The temperature controls for the vents and seats are controlled through the CUE with a host of other things. Temperature control stability is kind of important in the winter along with the cameras and again a host of other features safety and technology alike. So I called the closest dealership (45 mins.) and made an appointment for the CUE. I spent the next eight days calling and leaving messages trying to speak with ANY service advisor. Four messages, an online email and no less than 10 calls I could not get a return call. I drove the 45 minutes to my appointment after taking the day off of work because Cadillac does not do service appoints on the weekends and drop offs before 4 pm. I tried to speak with my service advisor but was just told Id have to pay for it to be fixed or at least be liable for the $180 diagnostic fee. I guess four months was not a reasonable amount of time for Cadillac to guarantee the work done in replacing my CUE system now that I am no longer a valued customer. I actually had to tweet Cadillac from the dealership just to get a call and was able to open a case for this now recurring issue with who I now know is the customer support warranty group. In any case I sat at the dealership for five hours when my service rep told me that my CUE became non functional due to an update by Cadillac which corrupted my data. I was told that Id need to bring my car back again because the 45-minute update was taking too long and Id still be responsible for any work done since I am out of warranty. I asked how it is that I am liable for an update that I did not initiate and how I could prevent Cadillac from pushing future updates to my vehicle that may corrupt my vehicle. I was told that my vehicle is out of warranty and there was nothing I could have done to prevent the update. So, there I was a day off work and five hours at the dealership still with no resolve. I called and spoke with my case manager and explained that I did not want to take my vehicle back to the same dealership, how I felt that I was no longer a Cadillac customer simply because my warranty expired and my concern that my CUE system was just replaced four months prior by a certified Cadillac service department, and I was concerned that Cadillac will continue to push data to my vehicle that subsequently makes the car features inaccessible forcing me to pay again to have it fixed. The case manager was very nice and understanding after I explained my situation and how after now taking three days off from work over a four-month period to address car issues is becoming excessive. I let her know which dealership Id like to take my car to which is 1.5 hours away and was told that shed work between both dealerships and get me into a loaner vehicle if necessary as Id already taken three days off for a recurring issue. This was on a Thursday and she said shed call me on Monday to follow up with me in regards to my new appointment at a different Cadillac location. Flash forward to Wednesday and I have not heard from my Cadillac case manager so I followed up with a voicemail. Still, no call back so on Thursday (today) just one day before my new appoint I call the dealership and find they were never contacted by anyone. I call Cadillac to try and reach my Cadillac case manager and cannot get through again. An hour later I get a call from Cadillac and am told my case manager no longer works there, no notes or anything but my name, vehicle make/model and a case number. I get a new case manager and have to go over it all again. In a nutshell my only option at this point as I am told is to take another day off, drop my vehicle off and if they need to keep it overnight Ill need to get my own rental and I will be responsible for the charges. I paid a lot of money for my vehicle and had no idea that Id only be able to retain the expensive features I paid for only for the duration of the lease. I had no idea that once a Cadillac lease expires you are no longer considered a customer and Cadillac certified work is not guaranteed. Id recommend getting an extended warranty or trading the vehicle in once the warranty expires. My Cadillac is the most expensive vehicle Ive owned to date and has been the most problematic. Unfortunately it looks like I will be stuck doing with costly repairs on my Cadillac every few months until I can get rid of this 2015 40K mile Cadillac Lemon. I would be too afraid to buy another Cadillac because when you spend this kind of money youd never expect to have so many problems with a relatively young vehicle. Buyers be aware.

On October 22, 2018, the CUE system on my 2016 Cadillac SRX, serial #3GYFNCE35GS548248 malfunctioned. The car had approximately 30,000 miles on it when I took it in to Myrtle Beach Chevrolet-Cadillac, in Myrtle Beach, SC, for repair. After they began the repair, they observed that I had drilled a hole in the rear of the storage compartment which is below the CUE screen & informed me that warranty would not cover the repair because I had altered the unit. They were very nice, and I am aware they have rules to go by, but this hole touched no wire or circuit board. The malfunction was not due to the hole I drilled in no way, but it was a defect in the CUE unit. There are forums all over the internet discussing the problems that Cadillac is having with the CUE system. On October 22, 2018, I contacted Cadillac Customer Service and talked to Shenevia, who set up case **. She told me she would be back in touch with me in seven days with a decision. She called back approximately ever seven days, telling me a decision had not been made, and on November 15, 2018, she called and told me that Cadillac had denied the claim. I do not agree with their decision & I do not think it was a fair & honest, because the hole I drilled had nothing to do with the malfunction of the CUE system. It is common knowledge that the CUE system has been a problem since day one! If I had drilled into a wire or circuit board, I would not be writing this letter. I could understand if Cadillac had paid for the repair, but billed me Core Charge, but I feel it is not an HONEST decision for the claim to be denied. Cadillac is using a small technicality to avoid paying for their mistakes!I have been a GM person all my life and always respected their reputation, but this case makes me wonder. I owned a Chevrolet Dealership in North Myrtle Beach, SC from 1981 until 1991 & presently own a 2017 Corvette, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and a 2016 Cadillac SRX, and I am aware that my business is like a Pea in the ocean! Sometimes COMMON SENSE should be an exception to rule! I would really appreciate you reviewing my case again.

Before I go into my review...I should have known! I am the sucker! GM has a great marketing Dept. Years ago, my dad owned a 2000 Seville DHS Sedan. It had major issues with door actuators and ignition key jamming. Cadillac of Troy charged my dad big money to fix. It never got fixed. I remember the ignition key jamming a week before we sold that car after dad passed away. Our mom had a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado STS 2 door coupe. She hated that car and sold it. Said it was a piece of junk. So after both our parents pass away, what do I do??? I buy me a 2010 Cadillac SRX Performance Edition AWD. A week after I bought it, it rained real hard. I had swimming pools in the driver’s side and passengers side. I bought it used BTW. Researched roof leaks to find out 300,000 of these had the same issuer and there was an ongoing class action suit by people vs the state of California. Didnt help me, I am in Michigan. After I hollered lemon law, the used car dealer finally goes ahead and fixes the roof leak. Took them two months. I get the vehicle back and check engine light goes on. I have a P0017 code, possible bad timing chain. Finally after crying for 4 months, I get the warranty people (GWC Warranty) to finally fix my timing chain. WoooHhhooo!!! Dont get your hopes up too soon, for a week later, I have a P2135 code. Cadillac forums tells me I have a bad TPS sensor, but its better to replace the throttle body for its all built in. I do that.Three days after new throttle body I get a P0442 code. Possible bad purge valve solenoid sensor. Replaced that too. Did it myself. Got the parts online from BOSCH. Didnt feel like renting another car for a week while the warranty people Fixed my Cadillac. A week later I have a P0455 code, EVAP large leak detected. Now I have an appointment with Suburban Cadillac of Ann Arbor tomorrow 11/15/18 for them to run a smoke test to pinpoint what exactly is wrong with my Cadillac. Not fixing it. Mind you just the test, hopefully I go from there. Praying the good Lord shines luck my wait and the darn thing runs trouble and worry free for 1 year. For paying $13,999 USD with a service warranty putting it at $16,000 I was hoping for better reliability than this.

I mostly drive one because of brand recognition. Mine is an older model that is holding up well on the road. Sometimes I wish they got better mileage though. But I am very happy with this brands passenger capacity. I went to swim practice and picked up 8 kids. I never upgraded anything on my car. I think the factory installed parts are satisfactory. During the last 18 months, I have had to replace all four (4) of the window regulators on my 2004 DeVille. The one on the driver’s rear was replaced on 6/17/10; that on the passenger front on 9/30/2010; the driver front window regulator was replaced on 12/31/10; and the passenger rear’s regulator was also replaced on 1/22/12. This would almost be funny if it wasnt so sad. This is fundamentally a quality issue with a supplier or a product specification issue with Cadillac. Either way, to have something like this happen to a Cadillac and 3 of the 4 within 6 months, makes me question Cadillacs commitment to overall product quality. To make matters worse, when I called Cadillac and opened a case requesting some recompense, they simply offered the canned response: “off warranty, too old and too many miles for us to be concerned with.” Well, they may have gotten the benefit of the parts sales thru the dealer (this was almost $600/regulator), but I will not buy another Cadillac. Too bad, this was my 3rd.

I have a 2006 Cadillac SRX. Its been a bottomless pit for ongoing repairs... Purchased with under 40K miles ... problems started immediately Within a month, CD player started not functioning properly (has Nav). Brought to the dealer. Repair: R + R head unit... cost $2500 + labor $2500...? You can buy a hell of a home stereo for a lot less!! All it needed was to have the laser aligned and it was replaced with some other unit from Cadillac (remember R & R no actual fixing here) so someone else has my used $2500 player that probably took about 2 minutes to realign the laser... What was I expecting for $2500?Very quickly found that the car uses a quart of oil about every 1000... Do you want to hear what the Cadillac tech told me when I asked him what should I do? He said, I recommend keeping a case of oil in the back - nice. The cars original sticker was $55K. The steering rack at 40K started to leak... R & R 1000 bucks later... brought home. Next morning, the AC Delco unit they put in leaked worse. They replaced it... Does that mean it was free?At 60K, the right front wheel bearings at $450. I cant tell you how many times Ive had to replace the right front directional at $125. Now I use my fist with a good glove and bash the directional and at least for a while it comes back on (Cadillac glove) - saves a few $100 every year. About 80K, the left front wheel bearing replaced... another $450 repair. Did you know some places on the road get almost $10 for a quart of synthetic Mobil One? Is that synthetic or pathetic? I lost track of how many quarts Ive added in 4 years...I actually had a pretty good stretch for awhile until last week... just turned 100k... Seems the timing chain loosened up, slipped a couple of teeth, valve spring broke, bent a valve and put a hole in the valve cover. $55K and the motor cant go 100K without detonating... As I write, the motor is apart waiting for GM parts (Please...cant we use some aftermarket parts instead?) This bill ought to be a whopper! Ive spent more money on this car for maintenance than the last 10 cars I have owned. Buy American? Buy GM? NEVER AGAIN.

This engine is an inferior design & GM should have been held responsible. This is a common problem with all GM Northstar oil leaking Engines and there was never a recall. GM never attempted to correct the oil leak problem. When it was new the sticker price on my 1996 Cadillac was approx $45,000. My 1997 Ford Explorer went for approx $23,000 & it doesnt leak a drop of oil. Shame on you General Motors!!!
