The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid is a luxury midsize SUV that combines electrified propulsion with the performance, comfort, and utility that define the BMW X5 lineup. It’s designed for drivers who want greater efficiency and lower emissions without sacrificing the confidence, capability, and premium feel associated with a luxury SUV. By integrating a hybrid powertrain into the familiar X5 platform, this model provides a balanced driving experience that supports everyday commuting, family travel, and longer trips with efficiency-minded performance.

Design & Exterior Identity

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid appears much like its conventional gasoline-powered counterpart but incorporates subtle cues that underscore its electrified nature:

SUV Proportions: The X5 Hybrid features a confident stance with a long wheelbase and a balanced profile that suggests both comfort and capability.

Elegant Design: A refined front end, sleek headlights, and sculpted body lines deliver a premium aesthetic suited to executive and family contexts alike.

Hybrid-Oriented Styling: Discrete design elements — such as specific trim accents and potentially unique badges — subtly signal the model’s hybrid identity without transforming the X5’s familiar luxury look.

Functional Form: The design accommodates hybrid components while maintaining SUV practicality, including good ground clearance and a commanding road presence.

Overall, the exterior emphasizes modern SUV design with an emphasis on efficiency and refinement.

Hybrid Powertrain & Performance

The heart of the 2026 X5 Hybrid is its electrified powertrain, which blends internal combustion and electric propulsion to optimize both performance and efficiency:

Hybrid Drive System: A turbocharged engine is paired with an electric motor and a battery pack, allowing the vehicle to operate in pure electric mode for short distances, in combustion mode, or in a blended state to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.

Seamless Transitions: The hybrid system is calibrated to provide smooth transitions between electric and gasoline propulsion, ensuring composed acceleration and refined power delivery.

All-Wheel Drive Capability: The hybrid setup supports intelligent distribution of propulsion to the front or rear wheels as needed, helping the SUV maintain confident traction and stability in varied driving conditions.

Balance of Power and Efficiency: Drivers benefit from responsive acceleration and robust torque, while also enjoying improved fuel economy and reduced emissions compared to conventional gasoline-only X5 trims.

This hybrid approach delivers both usable performance and enhanced efficiency, appealing to buyers who value a mix of dynamics and responsibility.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid is tuned to provide a comfortable, confident driving experience:

Suspension Comfort: Suspension tuning ensures smooth motion over everyday surfaces while still maintaining control and composure during highway driving and moderate cornering.

Precision Steering: Steering feedback is calibrated to balance ease of maneuvering in traffic with assured control at higher speeds.

Regenerative Braking: The hybrid system’s regenerative braking captures energy during deceleration, enhancing efficiency while providing a natural, controlled feel.

All-Weather Confidence: With hybrid-compatible all-wheel-drive systems, the X5 Hybrid offers improved traction in rain, light snow, or varying road surfaces.

Driving dynamics aim for an assured, poised feel rather than outright sportiness, emphasizing a quiet, refined experience with competent handling.

Interior Comfort & Utility

Inside, the 2026 X5 Hybrid provides premium comfort and practical utility suitable for passengers and cargo alike:

Supportive Seating: Comfortable seats with thoughtful bolstering make both short errands and long journeys enjoyable for driver and passengers.

Refined Materials: A cabin trimmed in soft surfaces, quality upholstery, and tasteful accents reinforces the SUV’s luxury character.

Ergonomic Layout: Controls and interface elements are arranged logically, helping reduce distraction while supporting convenient operation.

Flexible Cargo Space: The cargo area remains generous and adaptable, with rear seats that fold to expand loading capability, accommodating everyday gear and travel luggage.

The interior blends comfort, versatility, and premium finishes to suit family duties and executive needs alike.

Technology & Connectivity

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid integrates modern technology designed to support efficiency, comfort, and connectivity:

Digital Driver Display: A configurable digital instrument cluster offers real-time information on speed, navigation, hybrid system status, and performance.

Central Infotainment: A touchscreen interface provides access to navigation, media, climate settings, and hybrid system data, all through intuitive menus.

Smartphone Integration: Wireless support for calls, music, and app syncing keeps drivers connected without cables.

Energy Feedback: Displays dedicated to hybrid energy flow, battery status, and electric range help drivers manage efficiency and understand system behavior.

Technology enhances everyday convenience while providing insight into the hybrid system’s performance.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid includes a robust suite of safety and assistance features designed to support confident driving:

Adaptive Cruise Control: Helps maintain consistent speed and safe following distances on long highway sections.

Lane-Keeping Support: Assists with direction stability during sustained high-speed travel.

Automatic Emergency Braking: Offers mitigation support if abrupt traffic changes occur.

Blind-Spot Monitoring: Enhances awareness during lane changes and in crowded traffic conditions.

These systems are intended to work unobtrusively in the background, enhancing confidence without overwhelming the driver.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid

Improved Efficiency: The electrified powertrain enhances fuel economy and reduces emissions compared to conventional SUVs.

Balanced Performance: Responsive acceleration and hybrid torque distribution deliver confident motion without sacrificing refinement.

Premium Interior: High-quality materials and design create a comfortable, upscale cabin.

Practical Utility: Spacious seating and versatile cargo area make the X5 Hybrid suitable for family life, commuting, and extended travel.

Modern Technology: Digital interfaces and connectivity features support ease of use and informed efficiency management.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Battery and Weight: Hybrid systems add weight, which can slightly influence handling compared with lighter non-hybrid models.

Charging Dependence: The electric portion of the system offers only limited electric-only range; hybrid benefits depend on effective use of both power sources.

Premium Cost: Hybrid variants typically sit at a higher price point than base models due to the complexity of the drivetrain.

Ride Dynamics: While competent and refined, the X5 Hybrid’s driving dynamics emphasize comfort and stability over aggressive sportiness.

Who the 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid Is Best For

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid is ideal for drivers who:

Want a luxury midsize SUV with improved efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Appreciate balanced electric and gasoline propulsion for varied daily use.

Value premium comfort and advanced technology in an SUV format.

Need a vehicle that excels in family and cargo versatility as well as refined highway travel.

Prefer a confident, calm driving experience with the benefits of electrification.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW X5 Hybrid delivers a well-rounded luxury SUV experience with the added advantages of hybrid propulsion. It merges premium comfort, capable performance, modern technology, and practical utility into a single package that appeals to drivers who want both refinement and efficiency. Whether used for daily commuting, family duties, or longer highway journeys, the X5 Hybrid stands out as a versatile, confident, and modern choice in the luxury midsize SUV segment — blending electrified performance with everyday functionality.

I have a 2015 BMW X5. I drove the car to a neighbors for a birthday party. It was daylight. The parking area for the house, which appeared flat, bordered on a hillside. I was (fortunately) alone. I turned off the engine; normally at that point the car goes into (P) park. I went to the back door on the drivers side and opened it to remove something, then closed the door. At that point the car began to roll, and over the next several seconds it picked up speed, then it went over the edge of the hill. There was, mercifully one lone tree which caused the car on the passenger side to crash and stop. When I subsequently went into the car and looked at the gear shift the transmission was in (N) neutral. I emphatically did not leave the car in neutral. There was approximately $15,000 damage to the car.I contacted BMW about this, really just to inform them. They wanted to inspect the car and the person I talked to at that time said they would consider paying the deductible on the insurance if they determined I was not at fault. This caused some delay but the inspection occurred. Needless to say, they called a couple of weeks later (my original contact had left the company) and said they had not promised anything (that was true); they would not take responsibility. This could have been a terrible accident. Had there been a child, a pet, or anyone else, in front of the car, or if I had walked in front of the car to open the passenger door on the other side--or walked back-- there would have been nothing to stop my getting run-over. I would not consider buying another BMW (this is our second, and generally I like the car a lot) if this problem is not somehow fixed.

At the end of my wifes lease, she had an inspection report done at the BMW dealership where she had started the lease from. They performed an inspection of the car, then to find out that after she left, BMW Financial had the car picked up and brought to another state to only then get an excessive damage bill in the mail of an extra $500.00 dollars. My wife said where did this come from, we had an inspection done at the dealership and there was no such damage done to the car, my wife then said please show me pictures of the damage; they could not produce such pictures, but to only say she is being held liable for the excessive damages, and it has been harassment from that point on.Now, they have a place called vital recovery that is threatening her if she does not pay and going into our personal accounts. This is extremely poor taste of business from such a large car dealership. They cannot produce any proof of damages but to only say that the damages are there, here is a financial company that took a vehicle that she once leased and took it into another state, and then, they said that they performed another inspection and that is where they are coming up with this extra damage. Now, how much of a trap is that. My wife told them that I then needed to be at this inspection to witness it but now look what BMW financial is trying to pull, I say they damaged the car transporting it, and are looking for my wife to pay for it, and I wont have that. All they are doing is harassing my wife everyday.

I got a brand new 2022 X5 on Dec 22, 2021. After just 1000km drive, the engine light turned on and my car has been in dealership since 5 days ago. Such a frustrating experience with BMW. Perhaps other German competitors are more reliable. I wish I had not gotten a car from BMW.

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

I purchased a 2008 BMW 335i as a second owner. Then, I discovered after the purchase that the title was branded lemon--manufacturer buy-back. Carfax did not have the word lemon until two years later when the state of California required the word lemon be added. Regardless, the BMW was a buy-back at 4,000 miles because the fuel pump failed. Eight months later, the below recall was issued:VOLUNTARY RECALL: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall--models w/ N54.The upshot of this is that my car was branded a lemon due to manufacturing failure but none of the cars post recall were branded as such. BMW refuses to intervene on my behalf to the California DMV, to reserve the title branding; thus, leaving my car worth 25% less than comparable values for this particular model. While trying to trade it at a BMW dealership, they confirmed that it wasnt worth 60% of comparable values.Doesnt BMW USA have a responsibility to make this right? None of this would have been known by me had I not seen a Carfax with the updated lemon language and had I not tried to sell the car, now with 35K miles on it. Please help me. BMW has flatly said that there is no recourse for me.

As a midlife crisis buy, I sold my very dependable 05 Honda Pilot and opted for a 1 owner, exceptionally clean, 3rd row X5 with 96K. I got it for a good price at the auction, but it was an as is sale. Immediately after purchase, I noticed an intermittent clunk and bounce in the transmission/motor area about 1 second after startup. I took it to the dealer, and they told me the fix was a software issue for which I paid $340 for. Well, that didnt work. The repair rep told me there was no other fix, that it would be a waste of money looking for the problem, and to live with it till it broke completely. That was comforting. Then the other day, the radiator reservoir blew up which cost me another $290, because it happened in the middle of nowhere and the only repair shop knows that. I knew the windshield washer pump wasnt working, now the fluid is leaking out and the the washer fluid low light is permanently on. To fit it, you have to take the right tire and wheel well liner off. Another $200 fix. There is a loud clicking noise from the motor which seems to come from a design flaw in the head which doesnt allow oil to get to the lifters fast enough. Ive only had this POS for 3 weeks. I cant wait to see what failing item sucks my wallet dry next. Ive never had roadside assistance insurance with any of my cars, and never needed it, but with BMW, its a must. Definitely wont be buying a money sucking BMW again.

I am sending this complaint because I would like to leave a precedent in relation to BMWs poor service (customer service, car technical service department, and the financial department). When I got my car lease BMW in 2016, I got the tire and wheel protection they offered me. But it was the worst decision I took. This protection never cover me beside is the worst protection according with the policy. I got the tires and Wheels insurance which covered any damage that might arise. A few weeks ago I saw the need to carry my car because the screen showed that the tires on the back of the car were with air deficit, in addition to a physical malformation that we noticed one of the wheels (bowel). After reviewing it in the service, they came to the conclusion that the two rear tires had to be changed, but that the insurance only covered one, and the other would not be covered because it did not have a hole or a nail. Irresponsible situation on the part of them, taking into account that if I had continued with that car because of that bad physical formation of the tire I could have exposed myself to having an accident that could possibly have generated death or physical damage. I explained the situation and obtained the advice of both mechanics, lawyers, and BMW employees, who concluded that they did not know why I had not covered the insurance. Finally pay to be able to withdraw my car. Now I receive a bill where I have to pay the dealers fee in addition to a remaining payment. I think BMW irresponsible, because in my case I was forced to deliver the car before the time because I did not feel safe driving a car in which I had no guarantees. Because of this, I am in the process of sending a complaint to the BBB or consult it having illegal process initiated. Thank you.

Im a repeat owner of convertibles and on cooler days it is VERY common to place the heater on high when the top is down. I purchased a 2011 BMW 128i convertible with 30k miles in April 2014 and immediately discovered that when the heater was on very high or high for a period the radio will shut down and refuse to work. After an attempt (not knowing what that attempt was) to fix this car the dealer and BMW complaint division refuses to fix it or admit to a design FLAW. Has anyone else experienced this problem. My ADVICE to anyone thinking of buying a BMW convertible - check this out closely or shy away. They will not attempt to fix it nor admit it is a Design FLAW. It is REALLY inconvenient to drive in the cooler weather. Once the radio shuts down the heater must be turned off and returned to cool to continue listening to the radio. Never had this problem with any other convertibles. I will be selling this car!

I DID PURCHASE A BRAND NEW BMW 520 D from BMW from the Cochin dealer in India, Completed 3 years and done less than 20000KM, regularly serviced at BMW, last servicing done at 15000 km. Recently it was noticed that only one of the rear brake pads had worn out and had badly damaged the disc while all other brake pads are okay and the BMW intelligent maintenance system display showing all brake pads okay. The system is showing all brake pads okay, a rear brake pad replacement after 4100KM and front brake pad replacement after 37000KM ! THE KEY DATA AND THE Printout also confirms that while it failed to monitor and display any warning even after the pads badly damaged, the disc (we noticed it after hearing abnormal sound, otherwise we would have stranded some WHERE). Although the dealer said that he will write to BMW, as expected he came back to us asking for our consent to repair the discs for approx. US$1400. He failed to give any explanation for the failure of the BMW intelligent maintenance system, CBS, The I drive display, VEHICLE information display, etc. and is not ready to own any responsibility to ensure a reliable system, leaving us doubts about the reliability of other data shown on the display about the wear and tear, fluid levels, etc. Such an irresponsible response is unacceptable for expensive vehicles as the systems has to be reliable and if there is a fault and consequent damage, inconvenience to its clients, the company should take responsibility and get the matters sorted out at the shortest time possible.

I purchased my 2012 BMW X5 last November with 18K miles and a factory warranty. I brought the car in for its first service (in June, the computer told me) and oil change and to fix the tire air sensor. After the oil change was completed and supposedly the air tire sensor was fixed, I was told to call the service rep if I had any more issues. Well within a few minutes of leaving the dealer, the light flashed on and off and has been doing this ever since. Well I took it in today for another schedule service apt. - rear brakes (the computer told me too) - and to again check out the tire air sensor. I was told this would take one or two hours, so I waited (I was told they were out of loaners). (Note: work is over an hour away and home is 1/2 hour away). After over 3 hours, I got the car back and was told that I would have to come back yet again to fix this complicated tire air sensor - a couple of days will be needed to troubleshoot this issue, which I dont really care that much about. Air sensors are problematic on a lot of cars. I got in my car and the car said service check (computer) in two thousand miles (about maybe 6 weeks for me). So back at the dealer soon.Well I regret buying a BMW. It is an excellent ride. I didnt realize I would be spending so much time at the dealer for service for a late model car with relatively low mileage. So not worth it unless you live within a few minutes of the dealer. And yes the dealer will give me a ride anywhere! I work for myself, so every hour I am sitting in the dealer is an hour I am not getting paid for. I wish BMW would take some consideration for our time and realize not all of us have time to visit the BMW service dept. every month. I hope to get rid of this vehicle soon. So now I have to bring the car back for the third time - for the same issue. Oh well thats what I get for buying a BMW.

So I get a call from my BMW dealer today saying a rock flew through my grill and damages A/C condenser and that will be $1100.00 to fix it. I said what? How is that possible. I asked how he could prove it was a rock and he said well show you the hole. I said do you have the rock? How can you prove that? He told me that he has about 3 cars in a month for the same issue. I told him if it is that common then why isnt there some sort of recall? He said if you dont like it you can have your car towed and bring back our loaner car. Ummmmm… Seriously! I called BMW and they told me that it is not covered under warranty even though I have had the new car a year and they see this often but because they dont get many complaints about it, there is no need for a recall. So to anyone who has or is experiencing this call into BMW and ask them to file a formal complaint, so you can save yourself thousands of dollars in the future.

I had purchased a BMW black X3 very recently on 8/2/13. The car was taken from the Cochin showroom on 8/2/13. While taking the car out on 9th for a short drive, a disturbing knock sound from the back side of the vehicle was occurring. The vehicle was taken to the showroom and the same was attended by the technicians on 12th Feb. On the 13th, while traveling the same sound was heard and this time it was louder. The vehicle was taken to the showroom again on 14th Feb, but I was informed by the staff that as the technicians were not available, the complaint cannot be attended to. The AC cooling effect was very less. Its highly disappointing to notice the callous attitude from the staff and just within days after purchasing a brand new car. This really creates a very bad remark on such a well-known prestigious brand.

I have dealt with Victoria BC BMW now for 5 years and am sorry to say that they have lost me as a customer. Forever. Awful, horrible, deplorable service. They simply disregard the clients concerns. Over the past 2 years my vehicle has been in the repair shop to have the following fixed and they simply just say they cant fix the following: a) A car that just stalls out of the blue for no reason. b) Brakes that squeal in reverse. c) Also the brakes needed to be replaced after 10K km!!! Which was not covered by warranty. This is ridiculous and there needs to be a recall on that model - 2018 X1.d) The trunk closes when you are half way inside of it. Very scary. I requested they disengage that automatic setting and they were unable to do it. ???? So I have lived for 2 years in fear of going into the trunk because it would randomly close on me when I was inside of it.BMW VICTORIA- you do not live up to the customer service mission statement of BMW.

I bought my R1100RT brand new in Oct., 2000. i rode her daily back and forth on Los Angeles freeways for a year. I put 31,000 on her during first year. She handled very well in rough traffic: stops on a dime and has the ability to power you out of tight spots like a rocket if need be. I rode her recreationally over the next couple of years, and due to knee surgery, I had to park her in my garage over the 2003-2004 time period. Occasional starts during 2005 ended with a dead battery, and her sitting quietly in my garage until the spring of 2012 (yes 7 years). I FINALLY put a new battery in her and she started up with a chug, until I put fresh gas in her. She rode like a champ and I had her serviced within a week. I've put almost 800 miles on her in the first two weeks of bringing her back to life and she hasn't missed a beat. I was thinking about trading her in for a new R1200RT, but after riding her and enjoying the looks of onlookers, I don't think I could ever get rid of her. This is one great machine built by one great company. If you have one; keep it.

I purchased a BMW-X1 series from Sanghi Classic (BMW showroom) at Jaipur on 16/8/12. Now its total running kilometer is 14,214 km till date. But after that, we found that my vehicle is not running properly - On speed of 100 km, my vehicle trembles automatically which may cause serious accident at any time. We have a Honda CRV for the last 5 years and have changed the tires of the vehicle, and now, after running for more than 100,000 km, there is no damage in any of the tires. But in just running for 14,214 km of the BMW vehicle, we found that the condition of the tire is worst from the inside and in a very worst condition and is very risky to drive or travel. So please look in to the matter and replace the same with a new one. Thanks and regards.

I was extremely disappointed and furious with the service the guys at BMW of Dallas provided. This is not something you expect from a luxury car dealership. It was utterly unprofessional and zero consideration for a customer’s inconvenience and situation. My car was towed in Monday morning at 10am from work and I was being handled by a service adviser Andrew ** reporting to service manager Ricardo **. He was probably the worst guy in terms of communication. I don’t expect them to keep me updated on my cars status every few minutes but at least 1 phone call/email or text in this day and age to let me know an ETA so I could plan my ride back home from work. I usually take my car to another BMW dealership in Plano, TX Classic BMW and they are very professional. Being a BMW dealership, I expected a similar professionalism and style of communicating with their customers.I finally get a call from Andrew (this was after my multiple calls, voicemails to find out if the car had made it to the shop or not since I didn’t ride along with the tow truck) to let me know at around noon that they had received the car and will let me know what the charges maybe before they work on it. Again, no update until 4:15pm and that was again after me following up multiple times trying to find out an ETA so I could plan on my ride back home and pick up kids from after school care. I talk to him and he said he was unable to replicate the issue and thus they couldn’t fix the issue. My bill was about $300 for diagnostic fees. At that point I was furious as after all that lack of communication, he had the temperament to let me know that there was an outstanding bill.I let him know that I was very disappointed and upset with his way of communication and all he had to say was they were extremely busy and I was not their only customer. This was the last thing I expected to hear from a luxury dealership like BMW. I asked him I wanted to talk to his manager, Ricardo ** who was obviously not available to talk to me that time. Ricardo (also goes by Ricky) calls me at 7pm Monday evening to apologize and say that he expects his staff to at least communicate with their customers and let them know what the status may be. I told him I would be over tomorrow (Tuesday) to pick up the car.Tuesday a.m. (day 2) when I called them to notify that I was going to need a shuttle pick up from my work (which is about 8 mi. 15 min drive), Carlos at their shuttle desk told me he would have someone at 3pm to pick me up. I wrapped up my meeting and was waiting outside for my ride. I call them at 3:20 p.m. to check on the status and talk to Carlos after multiple transfers on their phone and long holds, he tells me that the shuttle is picking up other customers and will come get me in next 10-15 mins. At that point, it would have been 3:45 p.m. I finally get tired of waiting and get a ride to the dealership. We reach there at about 4:15 and I called Carlos again to check on the shuttle status out of curiosity and he tells me the guy should be there in another 15 mins?? At that time, it would have been maybe 4:30 p.m. or more. There was no apology or remorse from Carlos either at that point. So basically they didn’t care or feel bad keeping their customers stranded for over 1.5 hours. Again no communication whatsoever to let me know what the status of the shuttle was or any type of intention to remediate the problem. I met Ricardo finally in person and told him how upset I was. He said he had talked to Andrew about his lack of communication but I really doubt if he had taken any action. It is Wednesday afternoon and I yet have not heard anything back from Andrew ** in terms of any voicemail or emails? When I left, I had a letter attached to my receipt that asked to provide a customer feedback from their client experience manager Erika **. I left her a detailed voice message yesterday about my experience on my way back home, but another example where the manager has not gotten back to me at all.I feel the issue seems to be with the team there where they don’t think their customers need to be treated with utmost priority and professionalism. Especially when there has been so much of an inconvenience and hassle for someone, there was no effort on their part to get back and try to make amends. This was one of the worst experience having to deal with a dealership in terms of communication and way they treat their customers. VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE IN THE FUTURE TO USE THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.

I bought a brand new 2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe xDrive which cost me $104K. After driving my car 13k miles, I got an oil change from a non BMW repair center which is okay according to BMW. The shop was not able to take off the service light when it turned on at 15k miles. They told me its not a problem because I already got the oil change; I should take it to BMW to take the service light off. Within five days, my car shut down and I got it towed to BMW of Bayside. When I took it to BMW of Bayside, they automatically declined my service because I never took the car for an oil change at a BMW dealer and told me I owe $18,500 for a new engine. I spoke to the service manager and I told him I had a valid receipt for repair. He was quick to answer, It doesnt matter to me. Your cars warranty is void. I quickly reached out to BMW of NA and going back and forth, they asked to see the receipt just to waste my time for two months. Now BMW of Bayside and BMW NA does not want to give me information or a reason why they arent covering me especially after BMW of Bayside told me when they received the car, it had only 4.5 quarts in the car and only 3500 miles over the normal 15000 miles per oil change limit, which should be enough to drive it even if I didnt get an oil change. Im now in the position of not paying for my car and leaving it in the shop. I will burn my credit before I shell out $28k for a warranty item!

After reading through the majority of complaints here, Ive come to the conclusion that it is either the failure of the consumer to research the product carefully or expectations that are unrealistic and do not disclose the full story. For those that have had a bad sales experience, it is a failure of the dealership employing sales people that do not know their product and over promising and under delivering. If you buy a used car especially over 85k, as I read regarding the X5, expect it to have mechanical failures with some parts that require maintenance, i.e. cooling system parts such as t-stats and water pumps. Modern cars that are built by teams of suppliers are all prone to failures of suspension parts, bushings, window regulators, etc. and is an unfortunate result of the economies of building a car, any car. Buying a car because you thought it was prestigious, well, thats just an expectation residing in stupidity. BMW have never stated their x products are true off roaders (look at the wheels and tire profiles!). If you want that, buy a jeep or LandRover or LandCruiser. Navigation systems, blame the software guys (probably Navteq). They provide the disks for everyone in the industry. The car you purchased CPO was state of the art at the time and has evolved quite quickly. All of you expecting a car that is bare bones, be aware that most cars today have ecu/telematics units with more computing power than a Saturn V rocket (that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon). The trans guy? You needed a new clutch probably because you continued to drive the car after the trans light came on in which you probably needed a trans shift solenoid (approx $200). I am on my third car and have been fortunate to own many performance marques, all of which have had their share of issues. For the woman that claimed she was dismissed because car was out of warranty, what do you expect? What do you not understand? Out of warranty is out of warranty. You didnt complain if they fixed stuff at their cost within the warranty. Now, its your turn to incur cost. Cars arent cost free to maintain. You bought a car. A product. Thats it! You didnt do anything to qualify you for winning the Nobel prize so why should your expectation be that they fix your problem? Should they fix everyone elses car on the road thats out of warranty? For the guy with the motor mount issue, your car was probably in an accident. I have seen CPOD cars sold without disclosure of accidents by a major luxury japanese manufacturer and thats not the fault of the marque but the dealerships shoddy and shady selling practices. Conclusion, educate yourself if you buy anything. And stop with blame or false expectations that youre owed something. Car manufacturers step up to the plate to cover you either warranty or goodwill when analytics show there is a problem.

Problem 1: Transfer case have been replace several times and Im still having problems with this high price Junk. Problem 2: About 6 months ago the car started sputtering when you accelerate. I found online that you can take your BMW 2011 750LI xdrive in for a customer care package (They did not call it a recall but a customer care package). I thought this would correct the problems because they replace some sensors and vacuum hose but the problem is still there. BMW did a full diagnostic and said Remove and replace all injectors (x8), ignition coils (x8), and spark plugs (x8). (During the inspection found the vehicle misfiring). Final cost will run $6777.00. My warranty company will refuse to pay because they wanted to know what would you replace all 8 injectors and all of the other parts because all 8 injectors cant be bad. The warranty company think BMW know they have a faulted Injection systems and trying to upgrade and correct the problem at the customer expense. The car burn major oil, BMW claim this is normal. I will get a second opinion. This is the worst car I have ever own and when you spend a 100,000 on a car you expect to drive it more then 4 years without all of the problems these car has cost us. I thought BMW quality meant something. I will never, never buy another BMW in Life.Problem 3: Car have 114k now they are telling me the Transmission needs to be replace. This car have been a nightmare from hell. BMW NEED TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR PUTTING OUT SUCH horrible quality. YOU HAVE LOST US FOR LIFE. Now when I see a BMW commercial I laugh. This pre-certified car is awesome in every way, but I have owned 2 BMWs and 4 Volvos prior to this and have never had any damage to the finish from a bird. They are telling me that the damage is outside their warranties. I find it hard to believe they do not warrant their finishes. Stay away from this car; paint is fragile. I leased a 2 series as a third car - Just returned with 6k miles. Half way the car went dead - Ok, it happens. But it took 24h and 5 or 6 calls - Yes - For BMW roadside assistance to tow the car to the dealership (And then I had a few issues with the dealership, but minor so wont make this too long). I then proceeded to return it a couple weeks ago. They did an inspection a month before lease return (Just like my Range Rover went through, which showed a lot of charges, but then to my surprise US Bank did not charge any of them as I believe someone actually checked it and saw they were unwarranted - Kudos to them). Anyways, BMW are now charging me the same exact 2k from the Inspection even though I changed one tire at the dealership as requested (I deemed that to be right) AND the key that was Missing wasnt and was returned - They said the inspection was final, and it is upon me to show all receipts. Plus they are charging me for minor wheel scratches and other things I had never heard of before from Mercedes or Range Rover or anyone else Ive dealt with for that matter. BMW never, ever again.

Got a flat on tires designed to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didnt know I didnt have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didnt, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but thats the way it is, and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didnt have insurance. THIS IS MY 4th BMW (all had spares). THIS IS MY LAST BMW.

Clear coat failure, 2007 530i - Early in 2011, I took my BMW in for service to Bert Smith BMW in Saint Petersburg, FL. While the car was there, I had them look at clear coat that was disappearing from top surfaces on my car. They informed me that it looked like production defect so they would get a BMW rep to come look. Supposedly, the rep checked it out and deemed to be environmental issue. What the heck does that mean? If you live in FL and buy a $56,000 BMW that it is normal for the paint job to last 4 years tops. My neighbors Hyundai still has a beautiful paint job (same climate). How ridiculous. BMWNA Customer Relations deals with these problems like idiot robots. Anyone have any ideas?

Called North America BMW headquarters in New Jersey. Headquarters could care less about their product and customers. Bought Porsche Cayenne 4 years ago and wondered what I ever saw in BMW. Complete night and day difference in quality of the vehicle. I will tell as many potential BMW buyers to NOT purchase a BMW. Do NOT purchase BMWs. I purchased a 2018 BMW X5 in 2017. We bought a brand new vehicle so I wouldn’t have to be having car trouble. I’ve owned the vehicle about 14 months and it has had 2 engine malfunctions within one year. The vehicle just starts shaking and completely shuts off! Both times it happened in the freeway were cars are driving a constant speed of over 55 miles. Luckily I was able to just merge to the side of the freeway without causing an accident. Very bad experience just thinking I could of put my kids in danger since the engine just shuts off out of nowhere. This last time we were stranded in the grapevine where there was no stores or gas station close by just waiting for the tow truck to arrive. Both times my car has been in service for over a week. I am trying to request a replacement for a car that is not faulty or if they can just reimburse me what I’ve paid for and return the vehicle. I am very disappointed. We thought that one of the best car makers were BMW and it has let me down especially for the price.

Its a 2011 BMW 535i. When I turned on the front defroster the fan was making an abnormal loud noise. This is another long history with the great BMW dealership! So one day Im enjoying my BMX X5, you all know what Im talking about. Get a new car, and its a good feeling! UNTIL!!!! You start to Experience Issues. I just got a new BMW and dont know mechanics so you have to take it to a dealership. Now I take it to Chapman BMW, And remember I have a 2003 X5 its the 4.4. They came out with a Estimate Bill for $7800. I was like what!!! So I work on cars for a living and I know they full of you know what, when they say that number. Cause I fixed most of their list for under $1300. They get you with their labor 1st, then the parts! In capital letters SHAME on you BMW!! So then after all the parts and time to fix her. 4 months later I start to Smell of burning coming into my vents also a noise coming from the rear and sound like my rear differential. So I take it to BMW and they tell me I have no leaks nothing burning, everything is great. Well I take the car back thinking that BMW knows what theyre talking about, WRONG!!! I smell it again so I call my service advisor to tell him the same thing. I smelled the same smell and I hear the same noise so I take it back. So then two weeks later they get back to me saying that my transmission is making that noise and that smell is my valve covers leaking onto my headers which I had just done my valve covers. Tell them really? But before this you said I was good with no leaks? I tell them off a little cause they have no clue what theyre doing! Well they do cause their Ripping off all of us these insane prices! Ill make it short now! I pay $798 to fix the Smell they said, and the Transmission is going out! They said! Get the car back two months later and what do you know I smell the smell again! I paid them to do a job to take care of the smell and see what that noise was. Well smell everybody is called the oil separator, I changed it for $30 and fixed it myself! The noise is my rear diff, like I had told them before but they said trans! They need to make things right for what we pay!

I bought a BMW 530e 2019. Car drives fine. However, mileage is suppose to be 68MPGe. I get 48 MPG, and thats with using the battery to the fullest, driving only Econ Mode, and keeping most of my trips less than 16 miles. Ive received 2 recalls on the car already... Also, called local dealerships (Norwood, MA) for a scheduled oil change and to handle the recalls. I cant get into to the dealership till about 3 weeks later with a loaner. If I had a cheaper: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, that definitely is not the case. Those dealers can accommodate in a few days. Ive found you dont get better service or technology with a BMW, you get a brand name only with nothing behind it. Never buying another BMW. Had a Mercedes before, their service was much better.

I owned a 2000 BMW 323ci coupe that I purchased back in 2004. The car had only 13,000 miles on it and was optioned with every accessory available. I purchased the car from a private seller for $21,000 which I though was a steal since the car cost $43,000 new. The car looked flawless and drove as new; it still smelled new inside. I struck a deal and the BMW was mine. I felt as a BMW owner that was above most people now on the road and I changed my driving style to prove that I was now someone to be very envious of because I was to be respected driving a BMW. That claim to fame ended a few months later when the transmission failed on my BMW as I was shifting from reverse to drive. I couldnt believe it! How could this happen to a car with only 20,000 miles on it?!?! And a BMW for that matter. The cost to replace the transmission was $6,000!!!! That stung badly! In the coming years I also experienced very costly repairs ranging from HVAC issues, electrical problems, fuel issues, power steering failure, brake problems, a fractured subframe, cooling problems, Harman Kondom speakers rattling the interior when playing heavy bass music, broken and leaky sunroof, interior trim falling off, squeaks and rattles in seats and dashboard, popping steering wheel, cruise control failure, HID headlight burnout and I rarely drove in the dark, leaky trunk, power window motors failing, front turn signal housings getting wet inside and causing shorts. The cost of repairs on this hunk of junk amounted to over 15,000 dollars!!!!!!! All on a car with less than 100,000 miles! How horrible is that?! I had to sell my precious BMW for a mere $4,000 in 2009. What a piece of junk! Now I know why the original owner sold this crappy car and was driving a new Lexus sedan. I ended up buying a used 2006 Honda Civic Si that has been 100% trouble free and now has 183,000 miles on it. Im still reeling from my horrible BMW experience! I realize now that I was a pretentious fool thinking that driving a BMW was going to make me noticed and important on the road. Boy, was I wrong! DO NOT BUY A BMW!!!

I purchased a certified pre owned (CPO) 2006 325i sedan from Center BMW in Sherman Oaks, CA. with 54k miles for less than $30k. I was 24 years old, recent college grad, and just bought my dream car, I was happy. Within a year of purchasing, I experienced problems. The dealership fixed whatever was under warranty for the next 2 years (as per the CPO warranty). In the 6 years I have had this car, I have put on 63 miles, so now it is over 100k miles. I took care of my car and gave it whatever attention it needed, right away.Once the warranty was over, I experienced more problems that I had to pay for on my own: new Xenon headlight, all 6 pistons back firing (at different times over the 6 years), transmission gave out, power window on rear passenger side broke, window locks broke, driver side door handle/lock broke, display on radio broke, starter broke, rear view mirror broke off window, interior of steering wheel peels off, rear window molding had to be replaced twice, driver window motor stalls, passenger front door lock motor stalls, molding around passenger rear window leaks and water gets in with rain/car wash.Molding of roof racks peeling, car rattles when you turn the wheels to the furthest point possible while driving, especially on an incline, car rattles/shakes when the AC is on and car is at a complete stop, AC turns on automatically randomly, exterior lights on drivers side stay on when car is off and locked (randomly), BMW symbol on hood peeled and faded, and there is a loud, embarrassing rattle coming from underneath the car.For 20% of these problems, the dealership fixed under warranty. The rest they claimed were not under warranty and I had to pay for out of pocket. For about 30% of these problems, I took my car into the dealership 3 times and they could not figure out the cause and suggested I would fix and pay out of my pocket, even when the warranty was still valid. They claimed the warranty did not cover since they could not find the root of the cause and I would have to pay for time and labor for the dealership to take the car apart and figure out the root of the problem and then determine if the problem would be covered by warranty. The third time I caved in and paid for labor/time for the diagnostics and after all that the dealership told me the problem was not covered by warranty.Center BMW just sold me a lemon and sucked every penny out of my dream car. I finally got fed up and wrote a letter to the corporate offices explaining to them how unhappy I was with my BMW and how the dealership handled the problems and also mentioned how the lemon I purchased was a disappointment since I received a poor quality car that did not live up to the reputation BMW holds. Their response was there was nothing BMW would do once the warranty expired and the owner was responsible for all repairs.

I own a BMW X3 in the Philippines that is 5 years old, has been owned by me from new, always serviced by BMW and has 30k km on the clock. Recently the warning lights went on and it made a loud engine noise. BMW checked it over and told me that the transfer case needed replacement and that it would cost 200,000 pesos (USD 4,500). I checked on the internet about the transfer case and discovered that this was a common fault, that actually related to a plastic gear in the actuator. It seemed that the plastic gear problem was so common that a replacement was made and sold on Amazon.com. I bought the plastic gear for USD 50 and replaced the obviously worn gear in the actuator, perfect solution, no further problem. I tried to contact BMW in Munich because it seemed that BMW Philippines were being less than customer oriented. I assumed that BMW would be upset at such a bizarre situation. I was continuously referred back to Singapore, the regional headquarters, who constantly referred me back to Autozentrum, the Philippine agent. I finally got a letter from BMW in Singapore who told me it was their policy to only replace units, not parts in units. I tried to explain that this seemed to be disingenuous as the actuator gear was clearly a poor design and that charging USD 4,500 when a USD 50 part was obviously the solution, was penalizing a good customer and seemed to be short sighted. They sent me a curt note saying their policy was clear. My only advice is to buy a Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, Jeep, anything, but never a BMW.

I called repair shop right away and canceled the repair, and told them I just spoke BMW representatives and he said I have warranty. The repair guy congratulated me saving a lot and asked me to tow my car since the sounds are real unstable so I towed my car to dealership. They took my statement took my car.The next day, the dealership called me and told me I dont have warranty and call the company again to confirm. So I called the same number, the representative who answered my phone was so rude (and she will contact me several more times to tell me the exactly the same story) and asked my VIN number, and the VIN number I gave her doesnt have the warranty. I tried to explain to her what had happened a day before, but she wouldnt listen. She kept saying that she doesnt have any record of me calling, even if I copied my phone call photos and Verizon statement. Several uncomfortable conversations/emails/proof of BMW dealers statement of it saying I believed that the warranty was covered at the time of my vehicle was received at the dealership, they denied their responsibilities, and treated me like I am the liar.Who would go through that trouble not believing having warranty, paying $700 more than the imported specialist and towing and double dipping diagnostic fees. My car is still in dealers while I argued with them to admit their mistakes, but no apologies, but I became a liar of calling them, they couldnt find my number that morning calls... etc.I still dont have car two weeks later (still in the dealership) and wrote a last email, I gave up. All I can do is let my friends and family know what theyve done to me, how they treat their customers and encourage them not to be in a situations like me. It is not only pain to deal with people who doesnt believe me with all the evidence I presented, but also ignore their responsibilities of what they informed to their customers. I ended up will pay close to $2500 to change the problem injectors, but I ended up not suffering from them ever because I will never take my car to the dealership and never buy another BMW.I really regret my friends recommendation not to buy one years ago, all I would get is trouble... and yes. Anyone out there, know this. They will tell you, while looking at the image of your phone record, You never called us, we dont have a record of your number. Not honest, soon or later the business will pay the price for it. Just like our lives.

Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 750i on 2-14-2015 from Principal Auto Group in San Antonio Texas. This has been a terrible experience. The car had bent rims and would never ride smoothly... they wanted me to pay for a thrust balancing, then they would blame the tires but my independent tire shop confirmed the tires were okay. The first time I had a major problem the car was in the shop for 12 days because they do not have a enough bays. Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later? The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

Bridgewater, NJ said they can not take the X128i we are leasing (and 3 years of full lease has been completed) becuase of Murphys Executive order to keep NJ safe (duing the COVID period). However, when I called the BMW Financial Services, they said we need to make the payment to keep the car. How is that fair by BMW? The car is not even driven at all for last 6 weeks.I am ready to return the car and toally understand that only essestial businesses needs to be open, but here is a company who wants to make full use of the situtation of charging the customers. Very very dissappoiting in BMW and surely I am not the only one who has been forced to do so. This was my 3rd BMW and never going back to this company.

I have a very high threshold for dissatisfaction, but my recent experience with BMW caused me to take the time to document my experience as I wanted to share how bad it was with as many consumers as possible to save you from the same experience. I have spent over $400K on five 7-series cars over the last 15+ years as an extremely loyal BMW buyer. My current $100K+ 750iL just passed over 65K miles and the extended warranty expired and to my surprise, mechanical issues have not stopped materializing! I contacted BMW NA to find out what $400K over 15+ years of loyalty meant to them. Evidently, it means nothing! They pushed me to a call center rep who was clueless and of zero assistance, and she kept to the script. I guess BMW feels that everyone will just cave and do nothing when they are pushed aside. It shocks me that in the current environment where brand loyalty is critical to the corporate bottom line, BMW obviously feels that someone in their mid-40s who will be in their target market for the next 40 years has no value. I wonder if Mercedes and Audi feel the same way? Extremely dissatisfied in Barrington!

This problem has plagued the in-dash GPS since our purchase of the 2011 X3.
This problem has plagued the in-dash GPS since our purchase of the 2011 X3. The GPS, a $2000+ options, is inaccurate and unreliable. Its colorful appearance is appealing; its directions are consistently idiotic. If you follow its suggestions, you will backtrack, adding unnecessary time and miles to your trip. The worst instance: In returning to PA from FL last summer, we were traveling North on the FL Turnpike, North of Miami. The GPS wanted us to exit the Turnpike, head west and south on the Sawgrass Expressway, and circle around, get back on the Turnpike, and retrace our course. If we had followed that route (which we knew enough not to) it would have added more than 50 miles to the trip. Locally, making a short (30 mile) trip that I do often, the GPS wants me to go North several miles on a side street, than head South on a four-lane surface road, connecting at an intersection that I would have encountered almost immediately if I had turned South instead of North on that side road. It doesnt matter which setting the GPS (fastest, shortest, etc.) was on, the directions are equally bad. My Garman, at a fraction of the cost, is reliable and almost eerily accurate on setting arrival times. The BMWs arrival time is a wild guess, usually off by 1/3 or 1/2 the total driving time. Repeated complaints and visits to our Dealership has accomplished nothing. The problem is with the manufacturer, and BMW is either unwilling or unable to correct the deficiencies. It is my contention that if BMW cannot offer a GPS commensurate with the price, it should not be offered until a reliable product befitting of the brand is available.

I purchased a brand new 2007 BMW 328I in October of 2006. After 6 years of owning that car, I am completely swearing off of BMW for life. Most recently, the steering lock on the car malfunctioned. A few months back, it was an engine overheating problem that caused my engine to completely lose all power in the middle of a busy intersection. Over the years, there were countless incidences of the vehicle losing power. Put all that together with a ride that is hardly ever smooth, lots of jerkiness and delays in acceleration. I contacted BMW to complain about the most recent issue - not because the issue itself, but because of my level of dissatisfaction that a brand as reputable and as costly as BMW would present me with this many issues on a 6-year old car. It pains me to have to say goodbye to a car that is as attractive as the BMW model, but I refuse to spend my hard-earned money with a dishonorable company on a car that under-performs.

Had to call today because engine is stuttering on highway AGAIN and need to take back in for additional service. Im a long term BMW customer that took pride and enjoyment in driving BMW products. I have purchased 4 motorcycles and 2 cars. Sadly, I had the misfortune of purchasing a 2009 BMW 1300 GT (vin # **) with 11 pages of recall repairs. I purchased the bike from BMW of Oklahoma in 2010. The bike was a demo. I have found out that the dealer had stalling problems with the bike because in 01/23/2010 (6510 km) the shop worked on testing software. At time of purchase, I was not informed that the bike had a serious problem or that BMW had issued a Recall 09V471000 on the bike - Engine stalling could result in vehicle crash dated 12/04/2009. Remedy: BMW will notify owners and repair the motorcycle free of charge. BMW did not notify me of the recall. If I had been notified of the recall, I would never have driven the bike and would have gotten in touch with BMW.On 07/29/2011 (33234 km) I took the bike to Bobs BMW because the engine was stopping: again testing software. On 06/22/2013 (65734 km), while on vacation, I took the bike to Eurosport BMW of Asheville for the same problem: same repair. I did not ride the bike in 2014. I started having same problems again this year. While on vacation, I stopped at BMW dealer of Montreal on 07/08/2015 (38493 miles). They said the problem was not software but the stepper (idle) motor and airbox. On way home, I stopped at Velocity Cycle BMW dealership. They made the same recommendation as the Montreal dealer.I have been in touch with BMWs customer service and all I keep hearing is stalling tactics: bike is out of warranty, waiting response from regional representative... Im tired of being ignored and given bad information. Its fortunate that Im a good driver and have not crashed when the engine stopped. I have taken the bike off the road and will not drive it. Will someone in BMW please take action and solve this problem.

I purchased a 2015 BMW 435i brand new. I purchased all the extended warranties and maintenance packages. Since 2017 I have had an ongoing issue with the car not starting. It happens when least expected. I have replaced the battery 3 times in the last year. The last time it was in for repair I was told that they could not replicate the problem. So basically BMW cannot fix their own product. I was so frustrated. I told my service advisor that if they can’t fix it then no one can! No one cared! I called customer relations to No avail.I thought I would be able to keep this car for many years to come but due to its unreliability, I had to trade it in for a completely different brand. I lost tens of thousands of dollars! Last but not least, I called the finance department to get a refund on what was left of the extended warranties only to find out that many of them are no refundable! I will tell anyone who will listen, do NOT purchase any of these vehicles, they are not the quality that they are marketed to be. I know at least three other people who have had multiple problems with various models. One of which sued with lemon law and got another vehicle. I did not want another vehicle, I just wanted them to fix mine! This was a VERY expensive lesson learned.

I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Having several other electronic issues like the radio randomly shutting itself off, seat cooler and armrest heaters turning themselves on and the XM radio rerunning the program from about 5 minutes back if for some reason, I briefly lose connection like driving through downtown or something. My Toyota gave none of these problems, nor does my sons Subaru. Also they dont provide a courtesy vehicle in Spokane citing the global supply chain. I sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Service/Relations ([email protected]) including a couple of pictures of my X5. Searching on the web it is clear this issue is present on these model year cars. Today, I was contacted by RuthAnn, BMW Customer Representative, and she basically stated that all they can do is to log a complaint. My 2002 X5 is well over the 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and there is nothing that BMW can do. I explained that this was clearly defective workmanship on the part of BMW given the amount of problems on these model years, but she stated this issue was due to the elements and I should take my car to the dealer to make an assessment of the problem. However, even if the dealer determines it is due to a bad paint job from BMW, there is nothing BMW can do since the car is out of warranty. I tried to explain that I have had cars from Ford and Nissan older than my X5 and they never presented a paint peeling problem. Yet, here I have a luxury car with less years than my old cars where the paint work is peeling away with no warranty coverage. No response there. At the end all I was able to get is to have the complaint logged and be disappointed by BMW once again.

I purchased a used BMW that was purchased as a certified pre-own by the previous owner. The warranty extended through 2019 up to 100k miles. I thought this would be a transferable warranty seeing that it was purchased through BMW. I called in and was transferred to a third party company who had no record of the warranty. I called BMW back to which another person explained that the warranty can no longer be transferred because I did not buy the car directly from the previous owner. There was a third party involved. I offered to pay a transfer fee, have the car reinspected or whatever yet BMW would not transfer the warranty. I was surprised that BMW wouldn’t want to stand by a car that they certified as good based on a transfer of ownership that involved a third party. That seems like bad business to me and way to force a new owner to repurchase the same warranty again. I would suggest others be aware of this clause when purchasing a used BMW.

In July 2011, I sent an email to the BMW dealer in Cairo complaining about my BMW 525i Chassis Number: CS28301. My BMW was bought in 2007, and only has 120,000 km, but I am already having problems with the radiator and water pump. It is quite frustrating and disappointing on my part because I expected my BMW to last longer. I had the impression that it is built out of high quality materials, and it will never go fault that fast. I have other basic cars; Verna, Tarcel and Vectra, the same age as the BMW and maybe even older with higher mileage (300,000 KM), but they are still in good shape and has not malfunctioned unlike my BMW.My email was promptly answered, and I was told that I have to shoulder the expenses for the repair because my vehicle is already out of warranty since December 17, 2008. I had a BMW AG warranty policy, which was two years unlimited mileage. Mr. Hassan ** apologized for the inconvenience caused, and the time I spent dealing with my car problem. However, he said that the vehicle and their parts, regardless of how well made or maintained, do not have an infinite life span, and eventually replacement costs must be borne by the customer. He added that based on the vehicle age and mileage, they cannot consider the fault as a manufacturing defect.I relied that I will repair the car; I will sell it, and buy a Mercedes or Japanese car. I told them that BMW will lose its customer because its an expensive car, but not a durable car. Finally, I said that I will not recommend BMW to anyone I know.Copies of the emails are available for inspection.

My recommendation is to find another source to finance the purchase/lease of a BMW. Perhaps avoid the product altogether. I assumed a lease, 12 months remaining, in January of 2016. The original account/lessee had prepaid the lease including the applicable sales taxes due the original State of Registration - MA. I registered the vehicle in my home State of Maine where sales taxes on leased vehicles are paid in full upfront upon registration. At that time I informed BMW Financial Services (BMW) that I would be registering the vehicle in ME and therefore sales taxes prepaid and due MA for the remaining term of the lease would no longer apply. I made the argument then that the prepaid balance on the BMW lease account, relative to sales taxes collected for future remittance by BMW to MA, should be refunded to me, the new Lessee of the vehicle. I was told that BMW would stop billing MA sales taxes to the account upon receipt of documentation proving that the vehicle was now registered and titled in Maine. Any balance collected upfront for MA sales taxes and remaining on the account would only be refunded to me at the end of the lease term. As of today, BMW continues to bill me for MA sales taxes even though the vehicle has been registered in ME since January of 2016. I phoned BMW today to revisit this situation; their response was that nothing could be done because the account was originally prepaid. Sales taxes are due monthly on a lease in MA, they continue to bill, collect and pay MA sales taxes because that is how they do it. Sound like BS to you? At best this is an error BMW is unwilling to correct on behalf of a long standing customer with three finance accounts currently active with the Company. At worst it is outright fraud that they are collecting and pocketing taxes that are not due/payable to the State of MA. What is a BMW customer worth over their lifetime? Im not asking for a discount, Im asking to be refunded sales taxes that are being paid twice, once to the original State of MA and now to the Sate of Maine. We are talking about $600 versus over $300,000 in lifetime value of a BMW Customer. BMW is not willing to make an effort to make this right, what does that tell you about their commitment to customer service. They are willing to lose over $300,000 of customer value and avoid correcting a $600 error on behalf of a long standing customer.

I purchased a Custom 530i series in 2005. The car has been the best in performance and care. We only just recently had to invest $ into the car and it has 119000 miles on it and that was for brakes. The only issue I have to complain is replacing tires every 2 years. Yes the handling is awesome BUT they should warn you that it wears on tires more than the average car.

The remote key on my 2006 330xi stopped working and would not unlock the car. Once inside the car, I tried the central unlocking button on the dash. It locked the driver’s side door but did not control any of the other doors. Before leaving the car again, I therefore pushed down the lock buttons on the passenger and rear doors. At this point when I tried to open any of the 4 doors from inside the car using the door handles, they did not open. None of the car doors would open from inside the car. This is a frightening and potentially, a very dangerous defect in the cars design. BMW of NA will not acknowledge this as a defect or a safety issue. The only thing they are sure about is that they will not pay for it.

2013 335xi CPO 3 bent rims sold to me by BMW of south shore Hingham Mass. First I must start by saying Im writing this review with the facts and non-bias against BMW South Shore Gallery. I have owned 4 BMWs within the last couple of yrs. I recently went to BMW of south shore to trade my SUV for a sedan. Upon my arrival I notice that they had a new facility quite spacious and clean. Not many sales folks on the floor... However after a few minutes I was approach by a young gentleman which was quite articulate. We struck up a deal on my trade for a CPO sedan. After signing and ready for pickup a few days later I notice the car was not cleaned to my expectation... So I told them about it and they asked me to bring it back... so I did. After a few weeks later I was driving going 93 north. During my acceleration I notice that there was heavy vibration when the speedometer was 70 mph... I did not think anything of it... I thought this was just maybe balancing needed. Within a 2-week span I decided to call and make appointment to take a look... After arriving at the service area... I was in quite shock because the first thing the service advisor said was you will need wheel and tire insurance... Im like wtf in my mind... Ok I humored him... Then he said hes going to put it on the lift and show me that its not uncommon that I have bent rims? But 3 rims... How the hell did he know that the rims was bent... After putting it on the lift... he called me to look. He stated that 3 of my rims was bent and needed to be fixed. Keep in my mind I barely had this car for less than an month prior to observing this problem.I told them that Im not responsible for this, as this car is fairly new and I just picked it up. I was appalled by the next comment... that its not uncommon to have 3 or 4 rims bent... Seriously. I said I was going to go directly to BMW and complain of this deceitful practices on CPOs... and especially the folks in the service area selling you unnecessary things... BMW puts a lot into their CPOs and South Shore is putting the money back in their pockets... Right now Im still waiting for a call from them to fix my 3 bent rims which they knowingly sold the car to me with. The average driver would not have notice this issue if they were driving at 55 mph... So beware...Always go over the car thoroughly with the sales person... and have them put it on the lift and have 4 tires rotating so you can see if the rims are bent. My wife brought her car there several times for service and each time it has always been a problem because they serviced the wrong thing... including taking off parts and not putting it on back correctly... Theres no accountability with the service advisor... and mechanics. If you do purchase a car please take to another BMW dealer and have them go over it and I bet you will find quite a few discrepancies...

After receiving a recall letter from BMW for the brake vacuum pump (recall campaign no. 10v-446), I took the car to Crevier BMW but was told they didnt have the part. I never heard back from Crevier BMW, and I forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. I had the car towed to the nearest dealer in Irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended that I replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900. The description of the problem included in the recall letter from BMW specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose is the root of the problem. I spoke to Jody ** at BMW and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line and not the pump.I have owned BMW cars for more than 12 years, you would think they would stand behind their product and keep a loyal customer happy. They truly do not care about the customer. They will only take care of the problem if the car is leased and/or under warranty, and even then, theyll put off the work until the car is out of warranty.I have had a new 750Li since 2006. From the beginning, the engine oil light would come on and I would have to take the car in to be topped off. I kept asking why I had to do this so often and they assured me that it was normal for the 750. I had a new 745 before this car and I never had this problem. I didnt worry about it since there was no sign of a leak on my garage floor. Now that the car is out of warranty, they tell me that there is a leak.

My first and last BMW ever! In summary: 1. A history of engine light-on eve
My first and last BMW ever! In summary: 1. A history of engine light-on events. 2. Uncommanded engine runaway at 70-80 mph. 3. Was over 2.5 months in the BMW Service Department, discovered cylinder heads that were full of gunk and carbon build up but no root-cause ever provided to Customer about vehicles engine safety issues. They did not have a clue. 4. No Customer restoration process, as Customer had asked for in writing. 5. No extended vehicle warranty offered, no equal trade into a (safer) other vehicle with similar mileage, just a Sales Person trying to take the Customer for a ride by offering inflated pricing for a replacement vehicle. The story - I bought an all new 2010 335d at Joe Self BMW in Wichita KS and experienced a history of engine light-on events. On Jan 13, 2013, I was driving vehicle at cruise control at speed setting 83 mph on turnpike at 11 PM. Suddenly engine light came on, followed by a significant reduction in engine power output. Engine was unable to handle power requirement to keep cruise control speed at 83 and vehicles speed dropped to low 70s mph. ECU did not disengage cruise control while engine power was reduced. Suddenly vehicle accelerated uncommanded back to the set cruise control speed of 83 mph. Very dangerous and scary situation. My (1) disappointment about the cars engine reliability and (2) worries about post-warranty life (only 40,000 miles!) now transitioned into serious concern about the cars safety. As a result of this scary experience and obvious engine defect, I brought in my car to Joe Self service on Jan 16th, 2013. I also provided a letter on that day with the request to receive a formal response as how (1) BMW plans to restore my confidence in the safety & reliability of this vehicle and (2) have a discussion about the options going forward. I never received any formal response from neither local dealer, regional service manager nor BMWUSA.After two months of Joe Selfs service fishing - apparently they were unable to diagnose a root cause and replaced one part after another - and me feeling less and less comfortable to get into a car that apparently had undetectable safety issues, I asked the service manager Chuck to assist me again with looking into other options. He never did.I then called Joe Self himself and left a message to see if he was interested to keep me in the BMW family. That call led to the same service manager Chuck calling me again, who promised that a sales person would call me. No sales person ever called me. After eight days of waiting for a sales person to call me, I used my own personal relationships get a phone number and to call Mr. ** (apparently Chucks boss), who consequently put me in touch with Robin ** (BMW Center Manager). I explained my situation and she provided me with some car options to get into a different used vehicle. At that point in time I was not picky about what vehicle. Sadly, the offers from Robin seemed nothing more than NADA average trade value for my 2010 335d vehicle and a few thousand dollars more than NADA Certified values for the replacement vehicle (in this case a 2011 335Xi). Yes, they were trying to take me for a ride. I pointed out that this offer was unacceptable in this particular situation and challenged the apples & oranges value trade provided. I stated, Since you replaced half my engine, why dont you sell my car under this special BMW program with your inflated pricing? Robins response was, Oh no ... we do not want to sell your car to any of our Customer. They may have the same problems you had. That was the moment I realized that buying a BMW at Joe Self was a big mistake.Ironically, vehicle was finally returned to Customer on March 27, after 70 days of repairs and troubleshooting. Customer was shown pictures by Service Manager of a cylinder head, one of the many parts that was replaced, that was full of gunk and carbon build up. Cylinder head was apparently mailed to Germany for further analysis. Service manager stated that this vehicle was probably not the only vehicle with this problem... He also stated that my car was the longest in service at BMW under his tenure and requested me to go gentle on a survey that I was apparently going to receive. No root cause was ever provided about vehicles engine light, significant carbon build up in cylinder head and safety issues. Bottom line, very disappointing experience ... not only from a vehicle reliability/safety point of view, but especially how a Customer restoration process - or shall I say the complete lack of - was handled by the Joe Self team... while trying to take me for a ride. They should be ashamed.

DO NOT buy car from this dealer!!! This deal is selling you a defective car!!! I purchased a brand new 2020 X7 from this dealer. And the car was broken after 7 days driving: 1. The touch screen is 100% off, I cannot control anything on the display. 2. The bluetooth wipe out my and my wifes phone (Andriod and iPhone both) connection 3 time a week, which mean we need to reconnect/reconfigure our phone connection every other day. 3. The battery is dead permanently, the error signal was on when I purchased it originally, but the sales told me it will be back to normal after couple days driving. But after 1 week driving, the battery error signal is still there, and need to be replaced. 4. The rubber seal on the front end hook is coming out, and looks really ugly and do not match the BMW brand at all. 5. The auto lock is not function at all. After enabling this feature, the auto lock still not working at all. This feature is very normal one on any premium brand car back to 5+ year ago. I personally own another Acura and Tesla, all of cars have this function and there is no problems to use such function in the past 3 years.6. All of the cellphone app remote control function is not working on my car. I cannot lock/unlock/flash/horn the car via the phone app.I drop off the car 5 calendar days (4 business) ago. And service department is still working on it, from the time it took, I can definitely tell this is not a small issue. Since the service adviser told me, replacing a new battery will only cost them half business day. So for sure, there is a huge defective on this brand new X7 car. I am really surprised that this dealer will sell defective car to the customer, especially on such high end/premium 7 series product line. Update @2020-06-24: After 5 days waiting, today afternoon the service department just called me back, saying the display is totally off, and cannot be fixed by them. So they decided to order a new display from BMW, and the new part will by arrived in Friday (so another 3 business days waiting). And then they will need to replace the display part completely! Can you imagine this is what happened to a brand NEW X7, with 7 days driving and only less than 200 mileage.

BMW X1 is a wonderful auto. But lease is expensive and living in NYC means that use is limited. This is because of traffic congestion, crazy bike riders and poor driving habits of many motorists. Insurance cost is also too high as is parking. So not economically feasible for such a high priced vehicle. But I love it. Next time may buy Subaru or use on demand car rental services by BMW/Mercedes if they develop here in NYC.

Total bill: over $5300. First, they had my car for close to six weeks. I had a problem with the computer, 4-wheel drive sensor, maintenance for 65000 miles, and key switch install. Second, I asked for the oil to be changed and 65000 mile tune-up. When I got it back my computer said that it had not been changed and it was a quart low. Third, I have dents and scratches on the car that did not exist prior. Fourth, the steering wheel now makes an annoying sound when you turn the wheel. Fifth, the heat knob on the dash was broken. It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? Ninth, they lied and said I could be not reached was the cause of the delay(s). Tenth, I asked for the used parts they supposedly changed and they said they were not available. We didnt think youd want them. Im thinking of filing suit, but dont know an attorney or group that would help. Any suggestions would be helpful even if you tell me Im wasting my time. I purchased a 2011 X5 brand new from the factory back in 2011 and was experiencing some squeaking noises coming from the front end of the car. I complained to my servicing dealer about the problem back in 2011 or 2012 and they never took any action on the problem. However fast forward to 2013, the problem got worse and occurred on a frequent basis which was very embarrassing to me. In May of this year, my U-joint broke. My truck was down for about 2 1/2-3 weeks. During this time I complained about the squeaking noise as well. The U-joint was repaired; however, the truck was still making the squeaking noise. Took the truck back to the dealer for the noise. The truck was down again for about another 2 weeks. However the squeaking noise was still occurring. I took the truck back again but I was told by my service advisor he didnt hear the noise so I should record it when I hear it and email him the noise so that he could send it to the shop foreman. I did so and returned the truck to the dealer. The truck was down for another 2-3 weeks and when I got it back, the squeaks turned into a whining noise. In addition to the fact that I now had oil leaks. At this point, I took the truck back to the dealer and filed complaints with the BBB, Consumer Affairs in addition to contacting BMW N. America. I was told that due to the mileage and age of my truck that BMW was not liable for the issues I was having with my truck thus they would not provide me with a new vehicle or provide a sufficient monetary amount to buy out my finance contract, etc. I am very disappointed that a luxury vehicle has performed so poorly and BMW does not want to immediately take responsibility for a defective product. However they did offer me $2k for my inconvenience on the condition that I sign a confidentiality agreement which would release them of all responsibility of any issues I may have with my vehicle past present and future in addition to agreeing to not disclose the nature of my experience with the defects and failures of my vehicle.

My wife and I purchased a 2014 BMW X3 xDrive 28i in August of 2014. The car we chose was a certified preowned car, meaning it had low mileage and additional inspections/warranties applied. We purchased the car with about 7k miles on it and it was a good car for the first few years we owned it. In the last year, we needed to replace several expensive items including the oil gasket, most of which cost upwards of $1k plus. The final straw was the transmission dying. My wife was on her way home from the store when the vehicle gave her a Drive Train Malfunction warning and urged her to pull over and stop the vehicle. Once stopped, the vehicle would no longer allow itself to be shifted out of park. We managed to get it on a flatbed tow truck and then to a repair center. The repair center diagnosed a faulty transmission which baffled them as the car has less than 90k miles on it and had been maintained fully by BMW certified techs. The fact remained, however, that it was indeed the transmission that would need replaced. If we had decided to go this route, the cost would be roughly $6k and a month of time if we went with a third party repair or closer to $9k if we went with a dealership. The car at this point in its life is worth roughly $10k, so neither repair is worth it. So essentially, were left with a very heavy paperweight that we now must dispose of. Ive had low end beater variety Mazdas last twice as long as this luxury vehicle. I will not be purchasing again and will be warning anyone I can get to listen to me off of BMWs going forward.

I bought a new 2013 BMW 328xi and at 17,000 kilometers I experienced shuddering when braking. Upon further inspection I was told my brake rotors were rusted grooved badly. Contacted my BMW dealer, and he promptly told me that brakes are not warranted, and it would cost $900 to replace them. There was very little wear on the pads or rotors - I questioned why I would replace them with BMW brakes, as the first set rusted out in only 17,000 kms???? And the new ones were NOT warrantied also!!!!!BMW head office in Germany emailed me that you must dry off your rotors after theyre wet!!!!!! My local service place laughed and said that that was almost impossible short of taking all the wheels off!!!!!! Normally car companies do not warrant brakes because they are considered a wear item, which makes sense, but mine were NOT worn! I replaced the rotors and pads with aftermarket ones that WERE warranted and would not rust! I am now taking BMW to court to get my $900 back. BMW were not even interested in finding out what conditions would cause the brakes on a $60,000 car would rust out before the FIRST oil change was even due. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem.

My wife and I have 2 vehicles. A 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander with 130k miles and a 2007 Ford Edge with 128k miles. We decided to buy a certified pre-owned 2010 BMW X5 with 64k miles on it in March of 2016. Over the last 9 months, we have only put 6k miles on this vehicle and it has been serviced numerous times. We bought an Elite Plus, 2 year warranty. When we do drive this car, we baby it. This past week, we backed it out of the garage and instantly heard the engine fan going at max speed. About a mile later, warning messages came on to drive the car moderately and then to pull over and turn it off. Said the engine temperature was too high. We had it towed into BMW and after reading BMW forums, the exact same problem had happened to many X5 owners. The fix was nearly all the same: Failed electric water pump requiring replacement along with thermostat. Most people had their vehicles fixed for $1400 or less. Local BMW dealer said we not only need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but also coolant hoses, need a coolant flush and the reservoir replaced. $3500 in cost. My warranty is only good for $800 contribution to this problem. I was amazed at the vast number of BMW owners reporting on this problem at 60-70k miles for the exact same issue. One would think there would be a recall on this, but no. I bought a BMW for the Ultimate Driving Machine experience and had heard of its reputation as a reliable vehicle. 2016 has been a disaster for this vehicle and I am not only disenchanted with the need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but I also feel like the BMW dealer is trying to bilk me by replacing coolant hoses and the reservoir when I dont even have a leak problem.

Have owned Chevys, Fords, Hondas, Lexus, Jeeps, but none of them compared to the Junk of a BMW. I thought Ford was the worst vehicle I have owned...until I decided to purchase The ultimate driving machine against the advice of my 5 uncles who are mechanics. Thought Why not see what these High class cars? I am now a believer that these cars are sold to wealthy people mostly who know nothing about cars other than the reputation they have amongst the wealthy. With under 100k I had a leaky valve cover gasket, which caused my ignition coils to go out and have to be replaced. After that repair the fuel pump needed replaced then following that the injectors needed replaced. Luckily for me, I bought the extended warranty and those repairs were covered. After it broke 100k miles I pulled out of my driveway and noticed a bunch of steam coming from under the hood. After further examination I found that BMW used a cheap assistance black piece of plastic literally comparable to the material a plastic straw from McDonalds is made out of. Well that cheap piece had crumbled. After repairing that problem, the check engine light came on again, from leaky valve cover again, fouling the ignition coils, again. Immediately following that repair... It has snowed and I was sitting in my car with the heater on, when a big plume of smoke came out from under the dash. I immediately shut the car off and located the problem. Hindsight I should have just let the car catch fire and burn to the ground. Turns out that there has been a slow drip coming from the cabin air filter, which dripped down behind the dash onto the heater fan, which made its way slowly down to the heater fan regulator and eventually made its way inside the regulator, which with a well engineered vehicle, should have just blown the fuse. Instead of the fuse blowing, the regulator grounded out melted the connector inside the regulator and melted the wires down to copper wire about 3 inches down the wire harness. When the repairs were finished, hooked the battery back up and started the car, went to look under the hood to check everything going out just to notice a ton of oil that was spewing out of my oil filter housing between the engine and housing. Oh yeah and heater doesnt work still. Next is the heater fan which had no sign of a short but is now fried too. For how great these cars are suppose to be, I would take it from someone who has a familiarity with working on vehicles. Buy Honda, Toyota, Acura, or Lexus. DO NOT BUY A BMW!! Unless you want to ride in a stylish unreliable Piece of Junk. It is fun to drive when it works. However being stranded on the side of the road, especially in a subfreezing climate sucks. I have had as many problems with this car than I have had with an old 1996 Honda Accord with 300k plus miles on it. Theres now only 112k on the BMW and I am driving the old Honda again. Even my 91 Honda crx with 160k miles has had fewer problems than this car. My BMW HAS even had more problems than my old 92 Ford 250 with 212k on it.If you have the money for a BMW, save yourself the headache and get a Lexus or Acura. I will never recommend a BMW to anyone. In fact I have kept 4 people at work from making the same mistake as me. When I get it fixed to drive again, I am getting rid of it. I will never own another nor do I recommend buying one, unless you like to spend thousands and thousands and thousands on repairs or you like to work on cars. The amount of money repairs and maintenance cost, a person could buy 2 cars instead of 1 BMW.

My car stopped on me going out of town on the weekend and needed a tow. I contacted BMW roadside from the number in my trunk and set up service to be towed to BMW of Manhattan and I prepaid 139.00 from my debit for the service. I called the service center at BMW of Manhattan to assure security and lockup information and was told that they could not accommodate that and they closed at 5pm. So I knew the car wouldnt arrive on time because it was a little after four when I called back roadside and made reservations for the car to be stored at the towing company until Monday morning but I had to upgrade the amount I paid from 139.00 to 169.00 because of storage time. I was told the first payment couldnt be reimbursed over the phone but that Id receive it in three to five business days. I continued out of town on the 30th through Greyhound and returned on the fifth. I kept running into the resistance of phone tag when I returned but finally got through with email correspondence. When I visited the BMW of Manhattan location I spoke about the issues and options concerning the car. The 189.00 payment for diagnostic and the issues that needed to be addressed. I was told I needed the alternator replaced and battery fixed then another diagnostic needed to be done to see what caused the recharger to stop charging and the battery to die. I explained that I had some one oil the car and wanted to know if that could be the cause because he used oil that was not suggested by my previous mechanic; it was Mobile synthetic and I wanted to make sure it hadnt shocked my system causing the car to fail (BMW 750i 2006). I also didnt want to pay for a diagnosis and fix it only to pay for another diagnosis and realize my system was shot. I feel he should have been able to give me that information the first time opposed to being charged so many times. The service area associate assured me it was not the oil but he needed to fix the car first then re-diagnose.So, I asked about the financial assistance program that I was told they didnt have. I was also told if the car was fixed and not picked up Id be charged 85 dollars a day for storage. So I asked the service adviser Denise ** did she have the information for the towing company. I wanted the car towed back to she said No. I then stated I have it in my papers I will call and have it picked up and she replied I do have it. She gestured to a folder in front of her and she said Ill call and make the arrangement and the car will be picked up Monday (This was a Saturday again and they closed at 5).Its been two weeks now since the car broke down and I have not received my reimbursement. I called BMW roadside. They cannot give any information or a telephone number to speak with someone who can explain why I dont have my 139.00 back. The woman on the phone sounded unusually uncomfortable and told me I had to send a letter to the claims department. Thats all the information she could give me; that there was no number I could call. I expressed my concerns about no contact by phone and not receiving a follow up (which she said I should have gotten). Ive googled and cannot find a number for BMW claims or reimbursement and they insist they cant help me on the phone.I called BMW of Manhattan and was greeted nasty. I wanted to know where had the car been delivered to and the woman on the phone said It was delivered to the shop where I was having it fixed (she said it wasnt there). I told her I didnt make arrangements and wheres my car. She told me to hold on and transferred me to Denise ** who said she never made the arrangements and never agreed to it. We went back and forth on the phone till I finally asked wheres the car and she said Its still in the service area. Today is 10/13/17 and the car has been there since 10/02/17.I think BMW of Manhattan is a in every area from the financial assistance to having the car fixed and also on delivery. The attitude of the managing staff Ive run into is very unethical. I feel its bad business to take my money and now I have to chase it and get spoken to rudely. There system is not put together professionally; unless theyre just common thieves. I would like my money returned and car delivered and as I write this long (hour-some) letter the email had still not generated on my phone for an update (as she called it). BMW gets no stars from me. I wish I never bought the car. (I wanted an Impala.)Oh, and when I returned to my car to retrieve stuff from my trunk. They had left food in the car that was rotting for the time it was there. The windows were rolled down and big flies were in my car. I had little groceries in the car and though it might not be their job, if you are working on it and its in your garage common courtesy and your environment should have made you throw away sour milk, juice and hamburger meat. (Im just saying.) But Im not on fb so I wont. ;) I didnt know Id need receipts at the end for this but I can furnish upon request.

Ive purchased 4 and the current 550 will be the last. The transmission problem has been classified by BMW engineers as a characteristic of the car. Should someone that pays $68,000 be expected to accept a car that bogs down when passing? Brakes, rotors and pads replaced at 12k miles, right ignition coils, seat is broke, steer wheel leader coming off, USB connection blows the fuse when used and get ready to buy lots of tires. Dont even waste your time calling their executive center. $250k spent on their cars and they will not get a dime more. Pitiful they will not stand behind their product.

Never buy from Visalia BMW. I have purchased 3 BMW in the last three years
Never buy from Visalia BMW. I have purchased 3 BMW in the last three years and many BMW in the past. My 750Li just lost an engine with 4 months left on lease. BMW did not do anything financial to assist. No payments!!! The vehicle had 30k miles. They put a reman engine in. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BMW EVER AGAIN. The dealer said there hands were tied and they could not do anything. All this could have been resolved for less than $4,000.00. BMW Corporate would not do anything.
