2026 BMW 4-Series

Find big savings on BMW Automobile(s) at Auto Helpers. Low Prices.

The 2026 BMW 4-Series continues to occupy a distinctive place in BMW’s lineup, positioned as the more expressive and design-forward counterpart to the 3-Series while retaining much of the brand’s core engineering philosophy. For 2026, the 4-Series remains focused on blending performance, technology, and visual drama, appealing to drivers who want a premium sports coupe, convertible, or four-door Gran Coupe that feels both modern and emotionally engaging. Rather than reinventing the model, BMW refines the formula, emphasizing digital integration, driving dynamics, and interior quality.

From a design standpoint, the 2026 4-Series maintains the bold styling direction introduced in recent generations. The large vertical kidney grille remains a defining feature, setting the car apart from more conservative competitors and even from BMW’s own sedans. The overall silhouette is low and athletic, with a long hood, short overhangs, and a wide stance that visually communicates performance even at a standstill. Subtle aerodynamic sculpting along the sides and rear enhances both efficiency and high-speed stability, while available sport appearance packages add more aggressive bumpers, larger wheels, and darker exterior accents for drivers who want a sharper look.

Inside, the 2026 BMW 4-Series reflects BMW’s ongoing transition toward a highly digital cockpit. A wide, curved display dominates the dashboard, integrating the digital instrument cluster and central infotainment screen into a single, seamless unit. This setup places navigation, media, vehicle settings, and driving information directly in the driver’s line of sight, reducing distraction while reinforcing a modern, tech-forward atmosphere. Physical controls are minimized, though BMW continues to retain tactile elements where they matter most, such as the steering wheel, seat adjustments, and drive mode selectors.

Material quality remains a strong point. The cabin features a mix of soft-touch surfaces, aluminum or wood trim options, and available leather upholstery that elevates the sense of luxury. Fit and finish are consistent with BMW’s premium positioning, and even the rear seats, while more suitable for occasional use in the coupe and convertible, offer improved comfort compared to earlier generations. The Gran Coupe variant, with its four doors and hatchback-style trunk, provides greater practicality without sacrificing the sporty character that defines the 4-Series.

Performance continues to be a core pillar of the 2026 4-Series identity. BMW offers a range of turbocharged engines designed to balance power and efficiency. Entry-level models focus on smooth, responsive acceleration suitable for daily driving, while higher-performance variants deliver significantly stronger output for enthusiasts who want a more visceral experience. The chassis tuning emphasizes precise steering, controlled body movements, and confident grip, making the 4-Series feel composed on winding roads while remaining comfortable enough for long-distance travel.

BMW’s suspension setup for 2026 continues to prioritize adaptability. Available adaptive dampers allow the car to switch between comfort-oriented cruising and sharper, more responsive handling depending on the selected drive mode. This flexibility makes the 4-Series appealing to a wide range of drivers, from those seeking a refined commuter to those who enjoy spirited weekend drives. Rear-wheel drive remains central to the driving experience, while available all-wheel drive enhances traction and stability in varied weather conditions.

Technology and driver assistance features play an increasingly important role in the 2026 model year. The 4-Series includes a comprehensive suite of safety and assistance systems designed to support, rather than replace, the driver. Features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and automated emergency braking work together to reduce fatigue and enhance confidence, especially in traffic-heavy or long-distance scenarios. BMW’s approach emphasizes subtle intervention, allowing drivers to remain engaged while benefiting from added security.

Connectivity is another highlight. The infotainment system supports advanced smartphone integration, voice control, and over-the-air software updates, ensuring the vehicle stays current long after it leaves the showroom. Customizable digital displays allow drivers to tailor the interface to their preferences, whether they prioritize navigation, performance data, or media information. This level of personalization reflects BMW’s broader strategy of treating the car as an evolving digital platform rather than a static product.

The 2026 BMW 4-Series also continues to serve as a bridge between traditional internal combustion performance and BMW’s broader electrification strategy. While fully electric models exist elsewhere in the lineup, the 4-Series remains focused on refined gasoline powertrains, appealing to drivers who still value the sound, feel, and character of a conventional performance car. Efficiency improvements and mild electrification elements help reduce emissions and fuel consumption without fundamentally changing the driving experience.

In the competitive landscape, the 2026 4-Series stands out by offering multiple body styles, strong performance credentials, and a bold design that refuses to blend into the background. It competes with other premium coupes and sport sedans by emphasizing driving engagement and brand identity rather than pure practicality. For buyers who want a car that feels special every time they approach it, the 4-Series continues to deliver.

Overall, the 2026 BMW 4-Series represents a confident evolution rather than a radical shift. It refines what already works: distinctive styling, rewarding driving dynamics, and a high-quality interior infused with modern technology. For drivers seeking a premium vehicle that balances everyday usability with emotional appeal, the 2026 4-Series remains a compelling and well-rounded choice in BMW’s lineup.

I purchased a BMW-X1 series from Sanghi Classic (BMW showroom) at Jaipur on 16/8/12. Now its total running kilometer is 14,214 km till date. But after that, we found that my vehicle is not running properly - On speed of 100 km, my vehicle trembles automatically which may cause serious accident at any time. We have a Honda CRV for the last 5 years and have changed the tires of the vehicle, and now, after running for more than 100,000 km, there is no damage in any of the tires. But in just running for 14,214 km of the BMW vehicle, we found that the condition of the tire is worst from the inside and in a very worst condition and is very risky to drive or travel. So please look in to the matter and replace the same with a new one. Thanks and regards.

Not clear about durability as I have the car only one year, but maneuvering, acceleration, safety mechanisms, etc., are excellent. 228i is a relatively small coupe with rapid acceleration (0 to 60 in seconds), great maneuverability (takes corners sharply and with stability), good safety mechanisms (rear view camera, alarms/reminders for seat belts, emergency brake, parking, etc.). Windows provide good visibility all around though I wish there was a rear window wiper. Has driver & front passenger heater seats, automatic air conditioning and seat settings that driver adjusts to his/her comfort level, etc. Trunk is a good size. Back seat is a bit small if youre tall, otherwise comfortable. Could use a bit more storage space (console, glove compartment and very small compartment next to driver door to lock up keys for glove compartment if valet parked). Remote keyless access. Great car/value for the money. Good support service from BMW.

I took my brand new BMW to the dealer for a car wash. It was significantly scratched. The dealer Unilaterally decided it wasn’t them. I called BMW North America and reported the issue. The dealer Downtown BMW of Denver sales manager called me, yelled at me and now I am banned from having my car serviced there altogether. Bmw North America told me they were sorry but there was nothing they can do. Each dealer is owned individually. So now may car has significant damage and I can no longer have it washed as I was promised with my maintenance package.I bought the car at Schomp. I purchased the protectant package which I paid $700 for to find out it wasn’t applied. They are refusing to refund my money even though at this point I can’t have the protectant applied because the car is so damaged. Essentially bmw doesn’t care about their customers. They just want To sell cars and once they do you better hope you don’t have any issues because they don’t stand behind their promises.

I bought a 2007 BMW 550i with 50000 miles on it. So far I have spent almost 2000 in repairs but nothing has really been fixed, my transmission hard shifts between 1 and 2nd same downshifting, it jerks when taking off basically giving you whiplash starting off. Ive had the car reprogrammed twice, all that did was turn my entertainment screen sea green. They say I need a valve body which is a $2000 dollar part inside the transmission which my aftermarket warranty would not cover because they said since its electrical they wont cover it. But the warranty states they cover internal tranny parts which is another rip off these warranty companies. AC compressor failed, water pump failed. Suspension sucks, it shakes. Have bought new tires and like 5 wheel balancings and still vibrates at 60 mph. And the car only has 61000 miles on it right now. This is my second BMW, they both sucked, spent way too much repairing these cars and time wasted. It will be my last BMW and the dealer will not address most of these problems, they recommend getting just a whole new part so 40,00 miles later that part will do the same crap. Fail!

I purchased a BMW 320d Highline from KUN Exclusive, Chennai. I took my car for a long drive - about 30 km drive from Chennai. I made an attempt to make a fast U-turn, for which I held the gear as a support, and as soon as I completed the turn, the gear knob came off with my hand. I was really shocked to see that. Pictures can be uploaded if necessary.

I got a brand new 2022 X5 on Dec 22, 2021. After just 1000km drive, the engine light turned on and my car has been in dealership since 5 days ago. Such a frustrating experience with BMW. Perhaps other German competitors are more reliable. I wish I had not gotten a car from BMW.

Friends and family I wanted to share my recent experience with BMW to forewarn any of you who might be considering purchasing a vehicle with them. Although this post is long, I please urge you to read through and leave comments and share to strengthen my case against BMW. I own 2010 535I GT. Summary of my experience: I had initially gone to BMW to repair a faulty water pump, where they should have also discovered the other issues they later diagnosed during their 27-point inspection. These issues were overlooked and I had to bring my car back to get re-diagnosed, where they estimated $5,700 in repairs. After the repairs were done, a new problem arose, and funny enough, the new problem is the result of them fixing the initial issue, which they still have the nerve to charge me to fix. Read the full story below:I first noticed an issue with my car 2 months ago when my engine started overheating on the freeway. As a result I towed my car to McKenna BMW in Norwalk, CA where I paid close to $800 to repair a faulty water pump. Close to two weeks later I found another issue. This time the problem was the headliner on the sunroof. I brought my car to BMW of Ontario where a full inspection was done. The diagnosis: replace the headliner and repair leaks in valve cover gasket and oil filter housing. Total cost estimate for repairs: $5,700. After making a fuss, they agreed to a 25% discount and since I had guests coming in from out of country, I okayed the repairs. After that I started checking reviews online. I noticed that quite a few people had complaints about headliner malfunction. One was at 14,000 miles. Had I been using my sunroof, I would have probably discovered this problem sooner and would have been a part of warranty. I do think it is a faulty part and manufacturing defect. After I picked up my car, I got on the freeway and heard noise from the roof again. Stopped by home real quick to pick something up. As soon as I turned off the engine, there was a big squeaking noise coming from the engine. Took the car back and had a test drive with the service manager on duty, and he concurred with the two noise issues and promised to fix them. A week later the service advisor contacted me saying the noise from the roof was fixed. However the squeaking noise was a result of repairing the gaskets. Explanation was that when there was a leak in gasket, the air had an escape route. After replacing the gaskets, the air had nowhere to escape, thus making the noise. To eliminate the noise I would have to pay to replace the valve cover. Beware: If you are buying a brand new BMW, there would be a squeaky noise from the engine because the gaskets would be new and the air would have nowhere to escape (lol). I contacted BMW corporate to explain my situation and to be refunded for my repairs, waste of time and inconvenience. They dismissed my claim and said there was nothing they could do since I no longer had warranty. I definitely feel profiled as a woman, and I feel like the BMW dealership preyed on my lack of mechanical knowledge to squeeze me for every cent. This was a truly exhausting and upsetting customer service experience. I expect much more from a luxury car company.

I had purchased a BMW black X3 very recently on 8/2/13. The car was taken from the Cochin showroom on 8/2/13. While taking the car out on 9th for a short drive, a disturbing knock sound from the back side of the vehicle was occurring. The vehicle was taken to the showroom and the same was attended by the technicians on 12th Feb. On the 13th, while traveling the same sound was heard and this time it was louder. The vehicle was taken to the showroom again on 14th Feb, but I was informed by the staff that as the technicians were not available, the complaint cannot be attended to. The AC cooling effect was very less. Its highly disappointing to notice the callous attitude from the staff and just within days after purchasing a brand new car. This really creates a very bad remark on such a well-known prestigious brand.

Read a few previous posts on BMW lease buyout. I had a buyout price of 33k. Was offered 27k buyout at the end of the lease. The price was still too high compared to Market so I turned the car in, terminated the lease and paid $375 disposition fee. Now the same car is listed at 23k CPO. I approached the dealer to buy it but they refused. According to the dealer BMW and financials services are not allowing them to sell the car at the listed price 23k to me. I would have to pay 27k. The dealer is completely transparent about bmw’s poor practices. According to the dealer BMW and FS don’t want to expose this practice as all previous customers will demand a price adjustment. BMW FS is extremely aggrogrant and says it’s an issue BMW NA and dealership need to address. Dealership is willing to sell if I register at a different address. BMW NA will not respond. The brand is untrustworthy. Period.

Sterling BMW Newport Beach - This dealership is dishonest and misleading. First time, I went there to value my trade-in but we were still a few thousand dollars apart so I left. I called them back a couple of days later because I really liked the car and I agreed to pay $3,000 more than my original budget and they agreed and told me to go back there and get my new car. Once I got back there, the managers ** and ** decided that they wanted even more money than what we agreed on the phone and tried to sell me a car two years older! This dealership has proof to be dishonest! If you are a woman, do not go there, they will take advantage of you in any possible way.

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

I love BMW. BMW cars are well manufactured and can last a lifetime if properly maintained. Many people with these luxury high end cars do not understand that regular maintenance alone will not allow for any problems to come up. Its a car, IT MUST BE DRIVEN! I cannot stress that enough. Many people come in complaining of a problem when it is just a common thing to happen.

Now as many years as we’ve owned the car never have I ever heard or had been sent a letter of my car being a recall and we’ve been the first owners the only owners and it’s been so many years. My car is a 2001 and they’re just recently telling me about the recall which could’ve killed me and my kids and very harmful very harmful recall. Actually it is. They should’ve notified people a lot sooner because anything could happen whether it’s your fault or not your fault. Then they tell you to come in and that they will take care of it for you but they make it almost impossible for you to bring your car in and at the very end they end up making you pay for something which is supposed to be completely on their end. The customer service was horrible.

I purchased a new 325i in 04 and drove it for 11 years. For the first 100,000 miles, it had absolutely zero issues. Never had to take it in unless for an oil/battery change. Overall I was very pleased with having purchased a German car, until it reached 140k miles. In a 6 month span, my 04 325i (worth only $5,000) has broken down SEVEN times. In this timeframe I have invested close to $7,000 solely in repairs. This car has broken down on the side of the road (needed new fuel pump, $700), the window motor needed to be replaced ($600), crack in radiator (had to replace entire radiator, $1,400), needed new air pump and strut replaced ($1,800) yet another radiator replacement ($1000), and finally, when I started my car the exhaust spewed white smoke with the smell of gas (hoses and valves and a gasket were replaced, $1,400). Do NOT purchase a BMW or any German car for that matter. These cars are completely unreliable and not meant to be driven for hundreds of thousands of miles. There is a reason dealerships will only cover maintenance for the first 90k miles. Dont be penny smart and dollar stupid! These foreign cars are not worth it!

I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. This car owes me nothing! It has served me well and I have no indication that its getting tired.

Bought a pre certified 2012 X5 BMW with 32,700 miles. At about 35,000 miles noted a jerky acceleration while in the 3,000-4,000 rpm range in standard or sport mode. Took to dealer and they could not get a code to fix or diagnose. Was given vehicle back to continue driving while they looked for help from a district service lead tech. During the time to wait for reply it became more violent in moderate acceleration. There are no sounds associated with this issue, just not a smooth acceleration. Once throttle is no longer calling for medium to hard response the jerking stops and all is normal. Note rpm and shifting are all normal during this jerking. Vehicle was scheduled to go back to address jerking when engine went into safe mode one week before follow up. It was diagnosed at 42,300 miles electric water pump failed. They replaced water pump (under warranty). As to the jerking issue tech was told to remove drive shaft to validate either drive shaft issue or transfer case issue. Once shaft was removed jerking stopped. I did not have any prior vibration so they determined it to be the transfer case. They replaced it with new one (under warranty) and it immediately stopped jerking during medium to hard acceleration. My concern is that with this low mileage and reading several BMW owners with similar issues that this is a major flaw that needs addressing beyond the standard warranty. I was lucky in that mine was diagnosed before the 50,000 mile original warranty expired. I have owned 3 prior BMWs from 2002-2008. I put high mileage on them at 250,000 miles plus so I know them well as to what wears out and when. None prior have had these issues so early in mileage. BMW dealer was excellent in taking care of me (Gault BMW). My concern is going forward into the 100,000 plus range with these parts already failing. BMW you have some issues to address!

I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First
I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First incident occurred a week after buying my car at Sandton Auto. I had a problem with my brake pads. They were very noisy and couldn’t brake properly and got to a point where they had to be change within less than a month of buying a brand new car. After that, everything else was wrong in that car. Just after 2 months it started to have this noise in front - could be in the engine, I don’t know. I had to go home (Eastern Cape) so I couldn’t bring the car in. When I came back, I took my car to Zambezi Auto as I am closer to that side. They tried to fix it saying that it’s the cables going to or from the fan. All those cables were changed and my car was there for about 2 to 3 days.I went to collect the car and just before I got home the same day, the noise was still there. I called them and told them that what they did didn’t help even one bit. They arranged for me to bring back the car the following day. And mind you, that this is my only car, I just cannot afford to be taking it in where I can’t even get a loan car or any kind of assistance in terms of transport to and from work. My car spends another good 3 days there with them changing some other cables as well and re-gasing the fan or air-con. Then I went to collect my car again and the problem was still there. The noise was so loud that even people at the robot would turn heads. I told the dealer again that the problem was not fixed. This time around the cables inside my car were hanging around on the passenger sit side where I had to tuck them in. This is a new BMW car for God’s sake.I had to travel to Swaziland, so I was away for a month. When I came back, I had a tire bust and my car was towed to Menlyn Auto. Then, I told them as well about the problem. They looked at it as well and tried to fix it, but no luck. They said there was a new part that was needed and ordered it. And again I had to be car-less for more than a week. They did a test drive and told me that unfortunately the noise is still there and there is something else they have to do. Again, they chopped and changed whatever it was, but still the first day of me collecting the car the noise was there.I called them and told them as well, but nothing happened. I decided to bring it to the dealer I bought it from, which is Sandton Auto. I came with my problem and explained to the manager the whole story and the fact that if I bring my car in, I will need a loan car (which I was promised to get but didn’t). Then my car was booked in (this is the fourth time now in a dealer with the same problem). It stayed about 3 days because they had to keep the car in for testing in the morning to see exactly what could be wrong. They changed something as well and also when I went to collect the car, the noise was there before I could even get to the robot near them. I called them again and told them that whatever they did, it didn’t work because now the noise is getting worse. They booked the car again for the following week. I took my car there again to spend 2 days without a car and having to use public transport because no one could help. It stayed there again and they fixed few things, but still no luck. This time they even changed the entire computer system and this car was even giving false alarm warnings. This is what they told me and they didn’t know why because when they check the key, there was nothing. They also picked up that my PDC was loose (this confused me a lot). I went to them and spoke to the manager of the people fixing the cars, let him hear the noise I was talking about and he told me, Oh, that is a piece of cake. I can fix that easy.” This I couldn’t understand as he was the first person who was called to look at the car the first time it went to them. Now, this is the third time in Sandton Auto. The car was booked in for about 3 days now.The car went in, the system was changed, cables we replaced (now this feels like a second hand car) and everything else that could lead to this kind of problem was looked at by different BMW specialists. So more problems came out: 1. The speakers were damaged. I can’t even listen to proper music without the speaker kicking or vibrating or squeaking. 2. The car is vibrating now (and they did pick this up and said they will look at it). 3. I told them that the car sometimes doesn’t start, it just keeps quiet for a while. And this was looked at. Again, I had to leave my car there till the morning so that they can try and start it in the morning for testing (no loan car). 4. The brake pad’s noise is back (and the car was just serviced).5. The noise is worse than ever.I spoke to one of the employees there. She told me that this is a problem that they are experiencing in all BMWs. And she told me that BMW SA is aware of this problem. Most of the 320 I have this problem and there was a call out by BMW SA to change the fan belt to something else (can’t remember what). And she even told me about her own experience as she was at the robot and she heard this car (BMW) parked next to her with the same loud noise. So after that time I was told that they have to order a new fan for my car and change the entire fan system. This one was a masterpiece. I was asked where I bought the car by someone who was helping me there. I told them that I bought the car there by them and according to me the car was brand new. The reason why he asked this was because the car didn’t look like it was new and the PDC was not a BMW PDC. Wow - that’s what I said. I just said, “Wow.”This was a shock and I am asking myself lots of questions: 1. Could this be an old BMW car? 2. Is it possible that someone sold me a car that was a second hand? 3. Is it possible that this BMW car with these kinds of problems could be a demo or something?Really looking at it: is this possible? So right now I am still waiting for a call (which I don’t think I will get as it’s been 2 weeks already) for the fan and an explanation on the PDC. And right now the PDC is faulty for real. It beeps when you are too close to something. I really don’t know what to do in this situation. I don’t feel like I am driving a new car at all. As I travel a lot, I’m afraid that my car will soon be in 100,000 km where I won’t have the privilege of just taking the car in. I don’t have time to leave my car with the dealer anymore as I have proven that this problem cannot be fixed. I am tired of complaining and being stranded in terms of transport and worrying if this beautiful BMW 320 M Sport car cannot just stop in the middle of the road. Can someone out there help me, please?

We purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2007 to be my wifes car. It had 22,000 miles, not bad. While its styled nicely, also with ample room for an SUV and it handles nicely, it has been a mechanical nightmare. Its our first BMW and I assumed it would be reliable and be of high quality. WRONG. It was OK for a couple years of use, up to 35,000 miles, but since then, its been one expensive repair after another. Things that SHOULDNT break in a relatively low-mileage automobile. First, it was the liftshocks that raise the back tailgate. It would drop down on your head if you didnt keep one hand holding up while unloading groceries, etc. I was able to do that repair myself with new shocks. Next, it was the back passenger window mechanism in which a plastic piece along the ridebar broke. No one was messing with the window. There was no abuse, just my wife lowering the window to bring in air. Of course, the plastic piece is part of a whole motorized ridebar/lift assembly and in order to fix (only a dealer has the parts, btw) cost $575! Ridiculous. Next, a cracked intake manifold, along with several other parts (faulty PCV valve, breather hose, vent valve) that required replacement. Cost: $1,500! This last October, it was a leaky oil pan and oil filter housing, $450! Finally, about six months ago, four lights appeared on the dashboard, AWD, brakes, I forget the other two. Well, theyre all related to the same thing: a small motor beneath the drivers side undercarriage that distributes torque to the four tires independently, thus AWD. Great concept, BUT NOT IF THE GEARS INSIDE THE MOTOR WEAR OUT which is exactly what happened. The car had about 51,000 miles when this occurred. The motor is inside a housing about the size of a football. The motor cost $1,800, plus $1,200 labor, grand total of $3,000! The labor is high because numerous things have to be removed under the car to get at, and replace, the AWD motor. Well, we have to wait to get this last fixed, but I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN, EVER!! I could understand one fluke, one faulty part, but this has become an awful financial burden for us. My Toyota, on the other hand, has 74,000 miles and never a problem! Only basic maintenance: oil, tires, brakes... So you figure it out, which is the better vehicle?

I leased a 2014 BMW X5 at the end of December 2013. On this vehicle I have had the oil indicator light come on 5 times. Every time the light came on I brought it to the dealership. A service tech would come out, look at the light, open the hood, add oil and then reset the computer in the car and tell me that I am all set to go. The car now has 20,000 miles and on April 19th the oil indicator light came on and an error message displayed on the screen that read drivetrain malfunction. I immediately contacted my dealership as the car had a horrible shake to it and the message indicated to drive the vehicle at low speeds. I brought it in for service on April 21st which was Monday. The dealership contacted me Tuesday telling me that my engine was damaged beyond repair and it was my fault because I had not taken the car in at 10,000 miles. He then told me that the cars computer would have pinged the dealership and then I would have received a phone call to schedule a service. I told him that a call never happened and he searched on his computer and to his surprise the car indeed never pinged them and he agreed I never received the call yet I was setup for that service. He then said the car however pinged them on April 19th for a service but never prior to that validating what I had been telling him the entire time. He said I should have had an indicator light come on and the car should have pinged but he could not find a record of it. I told him that every time the indicator light came on, I brought it in and his service techs came out and took care of it and sent me on my way. I then asked him when I brought it in when the lights came on why did his service techs not know that car needed to stay for service and he replied to me that they were not trained for that, that they were only trained for top offs. I have done everything that I was supposed to do. I always brought the car in when the lights came on yet apparently the dealership doesnt train their service techs to fully understand what the vehicle needs. Now I am left with almost a $1300 monthly payment on a vehicle that has no motor and a dealership that doesnt want to take responsibility.

BMW limited warranty is a joke, BMW customer relations is a joke, BMW customer reimbursement center is a joke as well. One star is a understatement! Would not waste your time on this overpriced garbage unless you have money to burn and time to waste! Avoid BMW like the plague! Customer service is the pits! Trying to have anything repaired by them is a joke and a waste of time. How many recalls does a car need before they will buy it back? You have been warned. Stay clear.

2010 328i Horrible Car - Bought a BMW 2010 M package, the whole 9 yards. 700 miles - Driver side head light fails. 3,800 miles - Transmission jerks (needs update). 5,600 miles - USB stops working and needs replaced. 10,900 miles - Front rotors are warped and needs new rotors and pads. 21,200 miles - iDrive fails (the screen goes red). 27,300 miles - Rear left driver side malfunction on tail light (LEDs failed). 27,900 miles - Loud clicking at idle (alternator failed and was replaced). 28,400 miles - Car would sound like a diesel (all injectors were replaced). This is regarding my 16 months old BMW 5 series, RJ 14 CF 0999. As you can read the previous mails, I have been raising the concern for the quality of tyres since May 2018. That is within 4 months of purchase of a brand new 5 Series, luxury line BMW. The tyres installed in the car were Pirelli, and after 3rd incident of car tyre bursting, we took the matter to our nearest and purchase dealership, SANGHI MOTORS in January. We waited for the Sales Representative, Mr Ankit ** over there as he held the car between 24 December to 22 January, roughly for a period of 1 month for inspection and other undisclosed reasons. Finally when enough mails were ignored, I had to purchase an MRF tyre from the MRF dealer shop.Meanwhile on 17th January we renewed the insurance for Depreciation shield and Tyre and BMW secure. In March 2019, the front side car tyre bursted on the highway again leaving us, the owners, yet again stranded on the Highway for the 3rd time since the purchase. Again dusting off all the responsibilities, BMW Service executives maintained that the car was being driven in wrong conditions. Now despite taking all the necessary covers and insurances, I am unable to experience a satisfactory experience with BMW. My family personally own cars Jaguar XJL, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Audi A6, Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes ML 250, amongst our elite cars in our firm, M/s Gulshan Rai Jain II. Never have I experienced such substandard quality that the LIFE THREATENING conditions happen in these cars. The Pirelli tyres have been depreciated at 50% and 25%. Due to the bursting of substandard tyres the rims were also bent. BMW Sanghi Motors have depreciated the Rims at 20% and comfortably charged me that as well.SUMMING UP. I am unable to understand why I am liable to pay for 4 substandard tyres and for 2 rims as well, when the car has not even completed 18,000 kms. If the tyre is substandard and is prone to bursting then the car will come on rims. And if the rims are also substandard, then the company should take action. Moreover if 4 isolated incidents of BURSTING OF CAR TYRES have happened and BMW SANGHI CLASSIC MAINTAINS THAT CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN WRONG CONDITIONS. If BMW seriously believes that 4 times car tyre has been bursted due to driving conditions THEN I AM NOT AFRAID TO HIGHLIGHT THIS MATTER TO PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE TO BE JUDGED. I dont want to blame with insurance company, so please dont direct me towards them as they have no role in providing me substandard material in the first place.

I purchased this BMW 2011 740 li for my wife 9/14 with $55k miles from BMW Murrieta. We have barely had this car two years and has been in the shop 75 days with over $23k paid in repairs. Problems began immediately after we purchased the car. BMW Murrieta told me this car had a thorough 180 point inspection, rear brakes were gone in 300 miles. I took it back and complained, BMW Murrieta warrantied the rear brakes and rotors. 58k Miles - noise in front end, diagnosed as thrust rod bushings, those were replaced. 59K miles, seat motors go out, replaced those. 60k miles - noise in the rear - cv joints went out, replace those. 61k miles, power steering pump starts leaking and making noise, belt tensioner fails as well. Replaced both as well as the accessory belt. 62k miles, check engine light comes on, fuel tank supply line / pressure sensor fails, replaced those, 68k miles, check engine light comes on - turbo low pressure, replaced, gaskets, collars and vacuum lines. 70k miles check engine light comes on, turbo low pressure - turbo failed, replaced turbos and pressure converters. All good for a while. 89k miles, check engine light comes on - fuel injectors fail, replaced all fuel injectors. 92k miles check engine light comes on - transmission leaks all over driveway and slipping. Replaced inner mechatronics seal, fluid, pan and seal. 102k miles check engine light comes on, car overheating - water pump fails, replace water pumps, coolest and various gaskets, seals. 103k miles check engine light comes on - vacuum lines on turbo fail again, also replaced valve cover, gaskets and more sensors. 103.5k miles, transmission cooler leaking, replace cooler and lines. Anyone who doesnt believe me, I have all the service records I would be happy to post.During all this time, BMW Murrieta never recommends that a factory inspector come look at the car for all the issues, BMW America never reaches out to us for any customer service (not sure if they would know this car was in the shop so much unless the dealer would have told them). I call BMW America to see if they can help us at all with all the issues on the car. They open a case to inspect service records, all the money we have spent on repairs at the shop, all the down time, etc. This gets escalated to a gentleman named Kurt ** - Executive Customer Care (the title actually sounds like they care, THEY DONT!!) Two weeks later they call me and tell me the BMW does not meet their criteria for any kind of help. He tells me they wont buy it back, I tell him I dont want or expect them to buy it back. I tell him, Im just hoping you would take a look at the service records, all the money I have spent repairing this car (over half of what I paid for it), take into consideration all the stress, frustration, down time, rental cars, etc. and see if you can help me in any way keep this thing on the road and out of the dealers mechanic bay. Maybe some help with a trade or maybe some kind of help with an extended warranty, he tells me they cannot do anything, the service records and time in the shop do not meet any of their criteria for help.I will never ever buy another BMW in my life. This car has been the biggest joke amongst friends and family. They all warned me not to buy a BMW, especially a used one, even if its a CPO or not, doesnt matter if you buy it from the dealer or not. Once you take the car, youre on your own. BMW will not help you with any issues you have. This BMW is the most unreliable car I have ever owned period. Ill stick to my Chevys, Fords and Hondas.

I bought my 2002 BMW 330ci in October of 2011, since then I have had to have the cam shaft censor replaced ($270). It has been misfiring for an unknown reason causing the check engine light to stay on constantly and causing it to idle down and die every once in a while. Also, adding to my list of non working car parts, my trunk doesnt seal properly and leaks and the convertible top will not go down yet leaks every time it rains ($700 to fix) and my passenger door wont unlock and the lock is stuck down in the door making my passenger door unable to open ($300 to fix). Now it is February of 2012 and my reverse went out completely and with no warning at all. I have had nothing but problems in the short time I have owned the vehicle so now it is parked in my driveway until I can come up with the $4000 or more for a new transmission. I am not only dissatisfied but also angry and disappointed. I bought BMW because I thought I was buying quality and dependability. I am very let down and can honestly say once I rid myself of this money pit I call my car (which is hopefully very soon). I will never buy another BMW and will share my experience with other perspective BMW buyers.

I drove to the dealer; they bleed the car and put coolant in the system. Day 3 check engine light appears on the dash not on the computer screen. I brought it back to dealer to hear I need a new water pump and thermostat (-1465) later. Day 4 I received back the car drove around, while in idle the engine malfunction screens comes up and smoke... Smh! I brought the car back to dealer they say it’s an air bubble locked in. So they bleed the car and did a software update. Ok, I drove the car for the low coolant signal to come back on! I call they say top it off with tapped water. I said okay calmly. Went to class came back coolant all over the street!!! Smh Whats Next???

My battery needed to be replaced and to my surprise the dealer installed an Exide brand battery on 20 Feb 2013 and I was told it has 4 years Warranty. I believe that is not proper or even BMW policy to replaced BMW factory built battery with Exide brand battery. Now the battery is discharging and needed to be replaced and the dealer claim that it is out of Warranty because he only give 4 years Warranty on a new cars, and 2 years Warranty on old cars. My car is 2006 BMW 750li. I will no longer do business with (BMW Katy - Texas dealer). I bought a BRAND new BMW 530 XDrive last May 2019. This June 2019 I got a flat tire. I called roadside assistance for the first time and arranged a pick up. It took over 3 hours (FIRST sign they dont care) but they finally got a tow truck to me. The Companys name was T & T towing based in Waldorf. The dealership they were supposed to take my car to was less than 30 minutes up the road. SO after an hour has passed and no update. I called T&T towing to see the status of my vehicle. I was then informed NOBODY WANTS YOUR CAR, WE WILL DROP IT OFF WHEN WE DROP IT OFF. I look on my BMW app and see my car is heading to Waldorf and not BMW of Silver Spring as requested. I contact BMW RSA to let them know how I am being spoken to and that I would like my vehicle returned. I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

DO NOT buy car from this dealer!!! This deal is selling you a defective car!!! I purchased a brand new 2020 X7 from this dealer. And the car was broken after 7 days driving: 1. The touch screen is 100% off, I cannot control anything on the display. 2. The bluetooth wipe out my and my wifes phone (Andriod and iPhone both) connection 3 time a week, which mean we need to reconnect/reconfigure our phone connection every other day. 3. The battery is dead permanently, the error signal was on when I purchased it originally, but the sales told me it will be back to normal after couple days driving. But after 1 week driving, the battery error signal is still there, and need to be replaced. 4. The rubber seal on the front end hook is coming out, and looks really ugly and do not match the BMW brand at all. 5. The auto lock is not function at all. After enabling this feature, the auto lock still not working at all. This feature is very normal one on any premium brand car back to 5+ year ago. I personally own another Acura and Tesla, all of cars have this function and there is no problems to use such function in the past 3 years.6. All of the cellphone app remote control function is not working on my car. I cannot lock/unlock/flash/horn the car via the phone app.I drop off the car 5 calendar days (4 business) ago. And service department is still working on it, from the time it took, I can definitely tell this is not a small issue. Since the service adviser told me, replacing a new battery will only cost them half business day. So for sure, there is a huge defective on this brand new X7 car. I am really surprised that this dealer will sell defective car to the customer, especially on such high end/premium 7 series product line. Update @2020-06-24: After 5 days waiting, today afternoon the service department just called me back, saying the display is totally off, and cannot be fixed by them. So they decided to order a new display from BMW, and the new part will by arrived in Friday (so another 3 business days waiting). And then they will need to replace the display part completely! Can you imagine this is what happened to a brand NEW X7, with 7 days driving and only less than 200 mileage.

Awesome car to drive. I am on my 4th BMW. But this will be my last. My current car is a 335i. I need a footwear module. I cannot drive the car because of this part needs replaced. I contacted BMW because my car is just out of the warranty. Now mind you BMW extended this warranty because this part was defective. So knowing that asking for any help to cover the cost seemed reasonable. My car has 60k. Its a 2010. The warranty is 10 years 156k. I was told BMW wont help not one penny. Because of the age. Now owning 4 of these cars. I cant even begin to tell you the amount of money I have spent on repairs over the years. So now knowing I have to eat this cost. I am told 30-60 day to even get the part. So thanks BMW. I wont have a car to drive till I can get this handled. So once this puppy is fixed. I WILL BE TRADING IT IN! This is the last BMW I will own.

I leased a 2015 BMW 428I - I have had timely payment without interruptions. I have had very minor maintenance issues. BUT it seems as I have found myself with an ongoing to date unresolved electrical issue -- specific to the radio. I have take this car 5 times back to the dealer to no avail. I am without my car for days and sometime weeks. And it seems as if they cant get it right. As I am now again experiencing malfunctions yet again with the RADIO. I have exhausted all energy with this. My lease is up in two months --- I have opted to contact BMW and suggest/offer to at this point just return the car two months early as it makes no sense to again take the car back to the dealer for the SAME ongoing issue and have them keep the car for days and so thereafter have the same issue reappear.I was insulted and disappointed that I was offered to take the car back early without being charged for the last two months of the lease BUT only if I agreed to purchase another car... What a major insult to my current situation. I would have expected a prestigious establishment to OWN their LEMON and offer me an amicable solution enough to have me re-gain confidence in not only there product BUT the way that treat/satisfy their customers. After rejecting the horrible offer I was told they will revisit and have me wait until June 7th -- for my final answer. Very disappointing to say the least. My situation has been established by records of the amount of times this car has been worked on for the SAME issue. But yet they want me to wait an additional week. SHAME ON BMW USA.

This is my current car. I have had it 8 years. It is a 2004 E46 BMW M3, I think it is the most beautiful of the M3s (probably biased). It is such a fast car and can quickly lull you into thinking 100 mph is 50 mph. The brakes and handling add to the effect. Always keep an eye on the speedometer! Its 2 door sedan bodywork is very practical. There are seat belts for 5 inside. My car has unusual Caramel leather upholstery with Birds Eye Maple wood trim. I was told by the Service and Sales Department, that all BMWs over 50,000 miles fall apart, and always needed fixing. They are a typical car repair service, taking advantage of people who know nothing about cars.

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.

The BMW 300 is great for everyday driving. I love driving its 6 speed manual transmission! Its super fun to drive around town as well as long distances. The hands free features are also well designed. But, even though its a German car, its awful in the snow. We were very surprised by the poor handling in snowy conditions. We would not purchase this model again because of the climate we live in. It does not handle slick roads or snow well at all. Taking this into consideration, we might look at a different model. We really only bought it for the manual transmission.

I just purchased a new 2015 BMW 328i xDrive from my local BMW dealership about 6 months before I received a transmission fault warning and the car had rolled while in park into oncoming traffic crashing into a guardrail. Luckily the car rolled so slowly, it only caused very minimal scratches to the front bumper and no one was hurt. I made a complaint to BMW North America and had the car inspected. When I first left at the dealership, BMW let me know it would be looked at by the in house mechanics as well as their corporate team, and that they would keep me updated on the inspection progression. This process took over a month and when I inquired about the car, the dealership informed me the final corporate inspection was done 2 weeks prior to my inquiry; and that they were told someone in their corporate division was supposed to notify me of the report. Since no one would tell me what the status of my car was, I called the corporate office where I was told the car was looked at, and the mechanics were unable to find any significant faults or factory defects. Since no factory defects were found, BMW took no responsibility to what happened to my car, told me it was safe to drive and that they would sent me a report of the inspection.BMW never sent me the promised report of the inspection and I didnt not want the car back as it felt very unsafe. Ive owned the car only 6 months and put less than 4,000 miles on the car before this terrifying incident occurred. BMW told me the car was valued now at only $27,000 of the original $60,000 and would suffer the difference to return it.Before this car, I owned a 2003 325xi, which had a manufacturer recall in the driver and passenger seat heating system causing the seats to overheat. The seat heaters burned holes in each seat through the leather, burning my thigh in the drivers seat. I notified BMW of this and they told me they would only fix the burned drivers seat, not the burned passengers seat because the car was out of warranty, and that I was lucky they would even fix that.I made the mistake of buying a BMW not once but twice now, thinking they had well manufactured cars and mediocre customer service. Now I am certain they have unsafe cars and terrible if any customer service. I feel very generous giving BMW 1 star but 0 isnt an option. If you are looking to purchase a new or used BMW, do yourself a favor and buy an Audi instead.

When I got my car lease BMW in 2016, I got the tire and wheel protection they offered me. But it was the worst decision I took. This protection never cover me beside is the worst protection according with the policy. I got the tires and Wheels insurance which covered any damage that might arise. A few weeks ago I saw the need to carry my car because the screen showed that the tires on the back of the car were with air deficit, in addition to a physical malformation that we noticed one of the wheels (bowel). After reviewing it in the service, they came to the conclusion that the two rear tires had to be changed, but that the insurance only covered one, and the other would not be covered because it did not have a hole or a nail. Irresponsible situation on the part of them, taking into account that if I had continued with that car because of that bad physical formation of the tire I could have exposed myself to having an accident that could possibly have generated death or physical damage. I explained the situation and obtained the advice of both mechanics, lawyers, and BMW employees, who concluded that they did not know why I had not covered the insurance. Finally pay to be able to withdraw my car. Now I receive a bill where I have to pay the dealers fee in addition to a remaining payment. I think BMW irresponsible, because in my case I was forced to deliver the car before the time because I did not feel safe driving a car in which I had no guarantees. Because of this, I am in the process of sending a complaint to the BBB or consult it having illegal process initiated. Thank you.

I have a 2008 BMW 328i which I purchased new and I purchased an extended warranty as well. I have multiple vehicles so I dont drive my vehicle often. The vehicle currently has around 14,000 miles on it. I took the vehicle in yesterday because it appeared there was a problem with the battery. My husband received a phone call today from BMW in Elk Grove, advising that the battery needs to be replaced and is not covered under the warranty because I dont drive it enough (driver error). The price of a new battery is $453 (he claims this is with a 15% discount) and the battery must be purchased from a BMW dealership because it could create a problem for the computer if purchased from an auto parts store. The BMW representative stated that it would have been covered had it been a defective battery, but the computer states that I dont drive it enough. He stated that I will need to keep it on a trickle charger when not in use. I have kept up on all of my maintenances and services, which were completed at BMW and not once did a BMW representative advise me that I could be running into a problem with the battery because of my low mileage. At this point I am just livid that I have babied my vehicle. I purchased an extended warranty and I have to come out of pocket $453. At this point I have no choice but to pay the $453; however, I feel that this should have been covered by the warranty and not been viewed as operator error.

The brand new BMW 335i N55F30 was purchased in April 2012, registered on May 4, 2012 has been handed over to BMW RAK service due to vibrations and some kind of noise from the front on 15/05/2012. The car has done only 3,000 Km. After inspection and balancing the wheels at RAK, the serviced car was returned to me with 80 gram weight on the front right side on 17/05/2012 (80 grams weight on an alloy wheel is too much even for any standards). After driving for a few kilometers, noise and vibration was noticed again and the same was reported immediately to the service supervisor Mr. **. The car was returned back to RAK service station on 19/05/2012 morning. On 20/05/2012, the car has been sent to Sharjah service station for further investigations. This car is still with Sharjah, UAE service station and they were unable to figure out the issue! This is a new car and such bad quality product from BMW is not acceptable to me. I need to know how I can get full refund! I do not need a new car as I am not sure about the new 335i. Repeated email and phone calls to BMW have no result. The sales executive who has sold the car to me also made it clear that he is helpless! What is happening with all the quality that is being boosted by BMW? Please, someone help with your suggestion on how to go about this issue. Thanks in advance.

After reading through the majority of complaints here, Ive come to the conclusion that it is either the failure of the consumer to research the product carefully or expectations that are unrealistic and do not disclose the full story. For those that have had a bad sales experience, it is a failure of the dealership employing sales people that do not know their product and over promising and under delivering. If you buy a used car especially over 85k, as I read regarding the X5, expect it to have mechanical failures with some parts that require maintenance, i.e. cooling system parts such as t-stats and water pumps. Modern cars that are built by teams of suppliers are all prone to failures of suspension parts, bushings, window regulators, etc. and is an unfortunate result of the economies of building a car, any car. Buying a car because you thought it was prestigious, well, thats just an expectation residing in stupidity. BMW have never stated their x products are true off roaders (look at the wheels and tire profiles!). If you want that, buy a jeep or LandRover or LandCruiser. Navigation systems, blame the software guys (probably Navteq). They provide the disks for everyone in the industry. The car you purchased CPO was state of the art at the time and has evolved quite quickly. All of you expecting a car that is bare bones, be aware that most cars today have ecu/telematics units with more computing power than a Saturn V rocket (that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon). The trans guy? You needed a new clutch probably because you continued to drive the car after the trans light came on in which you probably needed a trans shift solenoid (approx $200). I am on my third car and have been fortunate to own many performance marques, all of which have had their share of issues. For the woman that claimed she was dismissed because car was out of warranty, what do you expect? What do you not understand? Out of warranty is out of warranty. You didnt complain if they fixed stuff at their cost within the warranty. Now, its your turn to incur cost. Cars arent cost free to maintain. You bought a car. A product. Thats it! You didnt do anything to qualify you for winning the Nobel prize so why should your expectation be that they fix your problem? Should they fix everyone elses car on the road thats out of warranty? For the guy with the motor mount issue, your car was probably in an accident. I have seen CPOD cars sold without disclosure of accidents by a major luxury japanese manufacturer and thats not the fault of the marque but the dealerships shoddy and shady selling practices. Conclusion, educate yourself if you buy anything. And stop with blame or false expectations that youre owed something. Car manufacturers step up to the plate to cover you either warranty or goodwill when analytics show there is a problem.

My 2012 BMW X5 was recalled and I took it to BMW of North Scottsdale to have the work done. They had to remove the oil filter or something and apparently did not bleed it properly. I went on a trip and limped into Denver where I took it to Schomp BMW. They had to replace the oil pump ---it must have burned out due to air in the line. NOW apparently due to the oil pump going out the ENGINE has major problems and the cheapest way to fix it is replace the engine. There is a rocker arm problem with some of this years but mine is not in the VIN # for that problem so is likely a rod.

My overall experience with my BMW 4-Series Grand Coupe model: sports ride, awesome performance and sleek style. I like the navigation package because visually it is appealing and has several functionalities that are easy to use. The heated steering heats up to a comfortable setting for my hands. The heated seats, front and back, is extremely useful for my family on cold days. The seats are typical for a sports car. However, for a BMW, I expect that the seat should be more comfortable. Right now, the seats are too hard and very uncomfortable. I do not like the seats at all. In fact, I use Anne sit on a cushion in the not comfortable.

I have a BMW X5 (2012) which I purchased new, it had an AC problem however that wont be fixed by BMW. Here is my story on the X5. After warranty is done at 50K miles this is where all the troubles start. Thermostat failure a 2500$ repair, Burnt Oil smell, fluid leak repair $2500 in 2016 by a BMW Repair service. Took it to the dealer to see if it would resolve and he replaced the same Oil Gasket leak at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton, CA for roughly $2500 in Aug 2017. Now I take it back to the dealer and ask him about the 2 year warranty and he says it is a different issue and I need to spend another $1500 to get this fixed. There is no end to the excuses for bad repairs but I wanted to call out that my experience with BMW and their repair technicians is so poor that they refuse to accept responsibility or address the issue.

My wife and I purchased a 2014 BMW X3 xDrive 28i in August of 2014. The car we chose was a certified preowned car, meaning it had low mileage and additional inspections/warranties applied. We purchased the car with about 7k miles on it and it was a good car for the first few years we owned it. In the last year, we needed to replace several expensive items including the oil gasket, most of which cost upwards of $1k plus. The final straw was the transmission dying. My wife was on her way home from the store when the vehicle gave her a Drive Train Malfunction warning and urged her to pull over and stop the vehicle. Once stopped, the vehicle would no longer allow itself to be shifted out of park. We managed to get it on a flatbed tow truck and then to a repair center. The repair center diagnosed a faulty transmission which baffled them as the car has less than 90k miles on it and had been maintained fully by BMW certified techs. The fact remained, however, that it was indeed the transmission that would need replaced. If we had decided to go this route, the cost would be roughly $6k and a month of time if we went with a third party repair or closer to $9k if we went with a dealership. The car at this point in its life is worth roughly $10k, so neither repair is worth it. So essentially, were left with a very heavy paperweight that we now must dispose of. Ive had low end beater variety Mazdas last twice as long as this luxury vehicle. I will not be purchasing again and will be warning anyone I can get to listen to me off of BMWs going forward.

We leased a brand new 2011 750Li. One month later, the car lost its power, and the engine light went on. We took it to the dealership, where it stayed for 10 days! Finally, they found the problem, fixed it, and we picked up the car. We drove the car out of the Vista Service at 11AM. At 6PM the same day, the car stalled in middle of the road. We called Vista to tow it, and the car is there for already 20 days. Nobody knows how long it will be stay there. They could not even find the problem. They kept telling us stories. After probably spending thousands of dollars out of their pockets, since it is under warranty (the car is 1 month old!), they told us that a rat got under the hood, and chewed all the wires. Now, they have blamed us for it, after a month in their body shop. Now we had to make a claim with our insurance, and pay the deductible fees for it. Meanwhile, they gave us an X5 as a loaner. A couple of days ago, we went to the supermarket, walked out, and found that the rear windshield was broken. Now, the dealership does not want to exchange the loaner, and I have to drive it with the broken window, with a 1 year old child in it, and a stroller full of glass. The insurance company is laming the dealership, and we have to pay another $500 for the window, and I even cannot exchange the cars after I paid. The worst dealership in the world. The salesperson was the best-James **, no hard feelings, you are the best! What cannot say about James ** in service department. The brand new car has been in service for more than 30 days.

I have a BMW with this aftermarket warranty. The front seat stopped working so I brought it into BMW. They told me that it was the motor, chair rail and regulator that need to be fixed. The warranty people told BMW they would only authorized the motor.. All other parts and labor associated with those parts are not covered. BMW mentioned to them that it all comes as one unit. All parts work together and need to be replaced together. Customer service stated that they did not want to cover it since on the paperwork it only stated MOTOR was to be covered. Seriously??? They are going to cover the motor but none of the components that go along with that motor or what actually needs to be replaced because of that faulty motor?? OHH.. BMW also told them that my oil filter housing is slowly seeping oil and needs a new gasket/seal. Warranty people denied claim stating they will only fix it when the seal is actually leaking oil and not just seeping! Really, so basically lets not be proactive and fix it now before it turns into something major! Then they can cherry pick what they want to fix and leave you with the rest of the bill. I hate this warranty company!

When we spoke on December 9, 2011, about the poor experiences at the service department, I was hopeful that it would not repeat itself in the near future. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I must report to you of the poor service yet again experienced. Whether or not you or anyone else cares, I leave that up to your business decisions; however, from the consumers stand point, if asked about my experiences at Silver Spring BMW, I would have to inform then that purchasing the vehicle was great; however, the service department is the worse that I have seen in more than 34 years of driving. As anyone knows, any vehicle needs servicing over the life time, but think twice about purchasing a vehicle from Silver Spring BMW because the service department is just poor. People are polite and they have a smile on their faces but what is promised to the customer is not given to the customer.I will be happy to meet with you to inform you of my experience, but yet again, an appointment was set on December 9, 2011, for this day (December 20, 2011) at 7:30 am. And, despite several email reminders that my appointment was scheduled at 7:30am, and an assurance from Juan L/N/U that I could be taken at 7:30 am, and being the second vehicle waiting at the front doors to open, I had to wait because my advisor had another previously scheduled customer. I decided to leave in complete disgust with the overall operation and process. Whether or not you have a Good Ole Boy system in place, who knows. And of course, a business is welcomed to have a Good Ole Boy system in place; if that is your business model, thats your choice and customers should know.Nevertheless, when you believe that Silver Spring BMW is able to schedule an appointment at an appropriate time to have my windshield repairs, please advice. Of course, I am left to the mercy of Silver Spring BMW. Thanking you in advance for your time and attention to this matter. Have a Happy Holiday Season.

I am trying to sell this piece of crap that I bought...was in a hurry and fell for sweet-talking seller. Now I discover that it has a branded title with a buy-back history. The vehicle BMW 328i Sedan was apparently bought back by BMW NA and then they did something to the vehicle. The buyer I have located is interested but wants to know what was done to the cat during buy-back and was put back to sale by BMW NA. When I call them, they say they can give service history but not what caused the buy-back nor what was done before they put it back on market. Dealership that bought the car post Buyback nor any others are giving any information.Since buying I have spent close to $5000 for repairs and they are growing by minute. I was surprised and appalled at the apathy to consumer request at BMW NA. Since then I have done lots of research and found BMW is worse than any American mfg. company. American companies connect you to their warranty department and service experts and try to do justice to your request. Not so with BMW. The customer service reps at BMW NA either refused to connect me to higher ups or disconnected me. One rep clearly told me that information is with higher ups and when I requested to connect me, she flatly refused. It is amazing that they seem to have no qualms about this and have been trained to behave this way, that much was clear. I noticed that one of my door handle trim pieces was missing and the other was loose. I looked for damage and there wasnt any. I went to the dealer and they were very helpful and accommodating. A few days later the dealer called me to let me know that BMW would not offer assistance. The resolution they suggested is that I purchase new door handles plus the cost of programming comfort access because the trim pieces are not sold separately. ($500+ Per Handle.)After, I have spoken to BMW independent of the dealer and they are asking for more pictures. I dont understand this since they already have them. I conclude that the trim pieces have fallen off due to a problem with the adhesive not performing to specs (The trim piece itself is made of plastic with tape strip on the inner side). I am very disappointed that as a loyal customer, I would be dismissed in this fashion. I just spent over $60k for this vehicle.

A tech has been promised to come out to the dealership to try and find out why the MPG are so bad on a 2010. They e-mail me from headquarters between such and such day; they either dont call and let me know they are not coming, or I go and get a loaner and they come for ten minutes and then leave. This is actually the third time I have tried to have the car looked at. I cant just drop everything the night before and go and get the loaner and leave my car. Some of us do have other things to do in our lives. Communication between the dealer and the customer care of BMW is awful. You would think they would let you know the exact day and then have a loaner for you, not so. The dealer is also frustrated. Their follow-up service is the worst ever of any car I have owned, and that has been quite a few over the years.I paid over 4000 dollars extra for the car to get good gas mileage and have asked every time when I bring it for service to check it, and nothing changes.

I brought my 2006 325i into the dealership because the molding on the front windshield is disintegrating to the point that the windshield edges are exposed and water will start seeping into the car. The weather strips on the passenger and the driver sides are also ripped, and the roof moldings are peeling and unsightly. Obviously, the materials used when building this car were cheap. The car was not cheap! The dealer indicated that BMW will not cover this service because the car is no longer under warranty or extended warranty. My argument is that if BMW is selling the ultimate driving machine, it should stand behind its product. My son drives a 10-year-old Honda Accord that has moldings in better condition than my BMW!The representative then proceeded to tell me about other services that the car needs: wheel alignment, steering wheel service, etc. that are more important than the aesthetics (molding). I told him that if the molding on the front windshield is not repaired, I will get water damage after the next rain.I will never buy another BMW and I will make sure my friends know how cheaply made the car is, at a very steep price!

We love the style lines and color of BMW 328i. Its a well-rounded car with its size, luxury features, maintenance and insurance costs. When test driving it we were really impressed with how quickly it responds to the driver. It drives like a dream. We also like the convenience features, quality feels when you close the doors and touch the fabrics/ Materials used inside. Very pretty color and we enjoyed the car dealerships low pressure, friendly and helpful attitude. Phone interaction and price were all attractive to us. However, I wish the engine sounded deeper/ Stronger. Wish it had a standard rearview camera, it seems strange a luxury car brand would not have this as standard today. Also, why do all BWMs eventually smell like crayon?

I purchased a used 2005 BMW 525i almost two years ago and it had 52,000 miles on it. Thank goodness I decided to purchase an extended warranty through my lender because at 75,000 miles or so, my transmission started acting up. This vehicle has not been neglected and has been taken good care of. However, I had transmission fault messages on my computer, so I took it in. Turns out that my transmission needed to be replaced. After my $7,000 transmission was put in, I still had problems. They reprogrammed the vehicle to try and fix the problem, and Im still having problems. Its also really slow on take off and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd really hard. And when I slow down, it shifts really hard from 2nd to 1st. All in all, my warranty company has paid out over $10,000 in repairs over the past two years, almost half of what I paid for the vehicle. That is just ridiculous. Ive read so many peoples horror stories about their BMWs transmissions failing and I just wanted to share my story too. I know that BMW is not taking responsibility for any of their vehicles so I felt like I should share. The more people that come forward, the better. Maybe one day BMW will own up to producing some rotten transmissions in their vehicles. All I can say is thank goodness for warranties. But its not about that. Its about your car, your BMW that you love so much, being in service for a month, and having issue after issue. Its frustrating and BMW needs to to tighten up their products.

IM lucky to be alive. What first began as a smell of fuel inside the car escalated to a strong smell of gas. After looking at the undercarriage of the vehicle, I discovered fuel leaking down the drivers side gas tank inches away from the hot exhaust. Tracking where the leak was coming from, I removed the passenger rear seat and discovered that the fuel pump plastic housing developed cracks all around, causing the fuel to escape below the passenger seat down the gas tank. The vehicle operates fine and there are no dash lights indicating that there are any failures of fuel. However, it seems the fuel has broken down the plastic housing of the fuel pump over time, resulting in an enormous loss of fuel when the vehicle is running. I am very glad I discovered this issue, which I believe is an enormous safety issue and consider myself lucky that I didnt catch on fire on my last drive. I will follow-up with BMWs hotline because I am certain there are other drivers that own the E90 series that may be having the same issue and hope NHTSA can put this on their bulletin and open an investigation on the serious issue. As far as BMW Coggin in Fort Pierce, FL, Richard ** politely kicked me out and told me he had an appointment with a doctor and did not even hear my issue out.

Despite numerous phone calls the unhelpful staff showed no compassion for the children who need the therapy dog and can’t even give me a rough estimate to how long I will have to put up with the worlds smallest car!!!! I purchased a brand new 2006 525i. It has been my dream car, and I was excited to make this new purchase. I have kept regular service and maintenance on this vehicle, and keep it in the garage at all times when I am at home. I have another car that I drive to work during the week, so the BMW is mainly used as my weekend vehicle. About four years later, I noticed the paint starting to wear on the hood. Then about three or four months after that, the paint on the roof of the car started to fade, and lastly the paint on the trunk of the car, noticed fading. I took it to Tom Williams and spoke with the service manager and the regional manager, who was scheduled to be in town that day. They took my vehicle to one of the service men, and he stated that it looked like soap may have been left on the car and that it could be buffed out. From there, they informed me to take it to their Collision Center to have it buffed out. The servicemen at the Collision Center told me that they could not buff it out and that it was a defect in the clear coat that was originally put on the car. I was given an 800 number from the servicemen at BMW, and from there, they told me that my vehicle was out of warranty. I took it to a few other local body shops, and they informed me of the same thing; that it was the clear coat that was poorly applied. The local serviceman asked me if I had the car shipped, and I answered yes. I special ordered this vehicle and had it shipped here to the U.S. He informed me that he had other customers who had the same complaint and that it may have been the salt water that caused the paint fade. He informed me that it was a water-borne clear coat that was initially put on the car, and that it was a poor type of paint that is not designed to last for the amount of money that consumers pay for this type of vehicle. This is my dream car, and it is very disappointing to know that I invested this much money in a vehicle to have to drive around with fading paint. I have a Toyota that I have had and driven for 15 years now, and the paint is still intact, and it puzzles me that and after five years the paint on my BMW is worn.

In 2011, I bought a 2010 550i gt with 10k miles from Global Imports and in the span of a year, It had ten service repairs on everything from oil consumption to pumps leaks drivetrain failures. Global trade assisted me out of that vehicle into another 2010 550i gt. Within one year this vehicle was sixteen times in repair shop with ongoing failure of vehicle. I am in negotiation with BMW of North America as they have admitted liability of their failed vehicles but they have a goal to profit from this and sell me another vehicle. I believe that two and a half years of constant repairs subjecting my family to stress, loss of time, loaner vehicles and a incident where we broke down on the busiest Atlanta freeway at high traffic time potentially deadly, is cause for BMW to offer a apology and as they stand by their Brand, they stand by myself the consumer and offer my family a new vehicle comparable to the features of the 550i gt minus the constant failed operations and performances.

I purchased a CPO BMW because I wanted to feel safe and secure that the vehicle was well maintained. The cherry on top was that I would be getting free maintenance for 3 years. Then I found out the restrictions along with the free maintenance which includes only one oil change a year. I live in an area where there is no BMW dealership. So after two years, I took my vehicle in to a local place so that I could get oil changes after 6 months. I thought it would be a good test to see how good the place was too since I would be taking it in to the dealership the next time. The service place reset the indicator lights on my BMW so that I wouldnt get the incessant notification - I thought was nice of them to do that. My mistake. I took my vehicle in after 50,000 miles to get it serviced and BMW said they couldnt perform most of the major 45,000 and 50,000 mile maintenance because the service light wasnt on. I tried to escalate by calling Customer Relations, but they pushed it back to the Dealership and the area managers. The area managers said since I hadnt been in to a dealership for over a year, it showed that I didnt have any brand loyalty.Keep in mind the closest BMW dealership to me is about 45 minutes away - so not a quick drop off. Also, keep in mind I went the past two years and realized they would only perform maintenance on my vehicle once a year anyway - anything earlier and I wasnt qualified for any service. Seriously? How much does it cost to change spark plugs on my car anyway?!?! Theyve certainly lost a customer in me. I was going to have other service completed ($800+) but after this treatment, Ill take my chances and go to a local place instead.Ill give them credit that they did perform some of the other warranty covered items (like replacing gaskets, etc.), but it makes me angry and frustrated that they wont perform the regularly scheduled maintenance items due to me not having brand loyalty, especially when Ive always gone to BMW except for one time. And something as minor as not changing spark plugs has decidedly made me never to buy BMW again. I love the way the cars drive, but the joy of driving it doesnt compensate for the poor treatment I get as a customer. I should have listened to everyone else who said BMW doesnt care about their customers.

Ordered a custom built leased 328i Luxury Line. After a few months of ownership, I noticed that the wood trim on the right rear door had a crack in it. Although it was minor, it could be felt and didnt want BMW to charge me when I turn in my lease. Went to South Motors BMW to tell them about the problem. The first service guy was an idiot who said that I should have bring up the problem earlier and that it was too late. Upset with this, I emailed BMW of NA included VIN, name, photos, and description.Within a week, I got a call from my the person who sold me that car saying that he was so sorry and to bring in the car for another look. I went back and was met by my salesman and service manager. He took photos and ordered the new part which they installed a week later. Apart from the first idiot service guy. I want to thank both BMW of NA, my salesman and the service manager for resolving this problem in a quick and responsible matter. On my 4th BMW and very satisfied. Car has been flawless since.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i and experienced the same issue that is being recalled on the 2010- 012 models. I now own a CPO 2011 335i and the starting my car sounds as if the car hasnt been cranked in 2 months. While in park the engine is super loud and revs for no apparent reason. The dealerships are nothing but vacuums for money. After having a tire replaced for the 2008 at one dealership, the water pump failed less than 5 feet of the service garage door; but I was told this was normal and could happened. Please note that the car never had any warning signs of overheating or loss of a/c power or anything. This was $1200 to fix. The service manager was smug and uninterested in my concerns. His only offer was to allow me to leave my car on their premises and charge me a fair rate for renting a car. On the same 2008 model, I was driving on the expressway and out of the blue my car loses engine power and goes into safe mode. This was $800 to fix. I contacted BMW customer care and the rep couldve cared less, telling me I was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. If this automaker cared anything for their customers they would deliver superior products and superior customer service. Unfortunately, this automaker fall short on both.

I purchased a BMW 5 series, new, on July 10, 2010. The car is 1 1/2 years old. It has been in the service center of Vista BMW, which is where I purchased it from, more than I have driven it. First of all, when I purchased the vehicle I was not informed I had run-flat tires on the car, nor was I offered a replacement warranty option. Naturally I did not think I had run flat tires on the vehicle since there is a full size spare tire in the trunk, which cars with run flat tires on it typically do not have. Then of course I have had multiple problems with the tires and the computer that registers the pressure in the tires. I brought my car to Vista BMW service several times and they kept resetting the computer system so the tire pressure did not register low pressure, never telling me I had problems with my tires. After the pressure light came on for the 10th time, I brought the car to an independent tire dealership, they put the car on a lift and showed me the tires. The front tire had a nail in it and that was why it was losing tire pressure and both rear tires had the steel belts sticking out of them and thats why the tire pressure indicator kept coming on. Yet I had brought the car to Vista BMW on many different occasions and never once did they inform me of the problems with the tires.Leaving me in a dangerous situation everyday, driving this vehicle. I ended up replacing the tires with regular tires after having the car for 1 year at my own expense. The other major problem I have had since I purchased the car, is the constant internal squeaking of the car, which sounds like all the doors are loose from the inside. The squeaking is so loud you can hear it over the radio. Again, I have brought my car into Vista BMW service and they claim the seal on the doors needed teflon tape to stop the squeaking. They proceeded with the repair and the noise was gone for a couple of months. The noise returned and I returned to Vista BMW service. I was then told 2 different solutions by 2 different service advisers. One adviser said the seals of the doors needed to be replaced, the other said no, that they were going to tape it again because that was what the manufacturer suggested, which is what they did, placed tape again. The noise was gone only to return a couple of months later. I believe I went back again another time for the same problem. I have to review my service tickets. I just brought the car in again to Vista BMW service on January 26, 2012 because the doors were squeaking again and I was having other problems which have still not been fixed ; (replaced windshield wipers, which dont clean the windshield and are extremely noisy, asked to have wiper fluid put in at service appointment, they put in plain water, interior vanity light out, still not replaced, and on curves a yellow light on my dash board which is a circle with a triangle in the middle flashes, I have brought the car in for this several times and it still has not been fixed).I spoke directly to the service manager at Vista BMW, Don ** and he reviewed my complaints, which he assured me would be taken care of. I have not heard from anyone since the car was dropped off on the 26th. Today is January 28, I called Vista BMW service today and asked for the service manager and was told he would call me back. A valet from Vista BMW called me back and started reading off my ticket of what was addressed, yet had no knowledge of me or what has been happening with my car. The service manager assured me on when I dropped the car off that the door seals would be replaced, not taped again. I asked the valet again to please have the service manager call me back about my car.Mr. Don called me back today and told me they taped up the doors again. I began telling Mr. Don what he had told me, that the door seals would be replaced as well explaining all the unresolved problems I have had with the car. He expressed that he did me a favor by getting involved in this particular situation and that he test drove my car and the squeaking noise was gone. I expressed to him again that he assured me that the seals would be replaced and not taped. His response was, “Fine, we will replace the seals but I can not promise the squeaking noise will not happen again on the interior of the car.”I expressed to him the car is 1 1/2 years old and still under warranty and this should not be the case. Mr. Dons response was, “Well, thats the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it. We will not replace your car and you are in no position to declare Lemon Law on your car since you have 30,000 miles on the car.” I told him I never mentioned Lemon Law and wanted my car fixed once and for all. When I asked him about the other problems I brought my car in about, his response was, “I did not read your service ticket so I dont know.”I am beyond frustrated, I have never had a new car in service as much as my BMW, I have also never had such poor service from a car dealership. This is my first BMW and will be my last. I had several Honda cars, new, and never had a problem with these cars or the service and I spent half the price on the car. Is it too much to ask to have your car fixed properly? Or that a new vehicle not have a multitude of problems?

I have recently bought myself a 530D BMW, FPJ875MP, from the Zambesi BMW dealership in Pretoria. I based my purchase on the following reasons; safety of my family, whom I believe we all value. I have always associated BMW with high standards in terms of safety and service delivery. This was still my opinion even after I purchased the vehicle. Looking back now, I feel the sales person did not portray the actual facts about the vehicle that was sold to me. If I purchased the vehicle from a private dealer then I understand the risk, however, I came to a reputable dealership to avoid any complications associated with purchasing vehicles from private owners or private dealerships.I work abroad for long periods at a time and last week, January 3, my wife was on her way back to Secunda, at night, on the N17 when the right rear wheel burst at 120km/hour, with other traffic around them. She managed to avoid a serious accident and bring the vehicle to a stop on the side of the road. This left my family stranded next to a location close to Carnival City. She was assisted by a stranger, who advised her to move the vehicle for safety reasons to the nearest bridge, where he assisted her to change the wheel. First and foremost, the salesman assured me that the vehicle had gone through the BMW Quality Assurance and that the vehicle had been serviced. I was not given any record of either. After a month, the service light came on, upon which we contacted the salesman. He advised me to bring the vehicle in for a service, which took one whole week. The spare wheel was taken out of the vehicle and not returned until we questioned the salesman. The salesman also promised us lock nuts for the vehicle upon purchase on which he has not delivered. On January 4, she went to a tire dealership, who on inspection, discovered that the wheels, both rear wheels were running on the wire on the inside and that being the reason for the tire ending up like it did. Upon purchasing this vehicle, the sales consultant informed me that he had placed two new tires on the vehicle and I am failing to understand how these could be worn out like it was over a couple of months. Both my wife and I are conservative drivers. Upon purchase of the vehicle, it had four run flats. However, when receiving the vehicle, he had placed the ordinary tires on the vehicle.Over and above everything, I purchased a BMW from a BMW dealership because I trust the brand and also associated it with quality. As you can imagine, my wife has lost faith in the brand as well as its representatives. She was shaken up by the incident and the lack of integrity from a sales point of view is very poor. I purchased this vehicle from a BMW dealership to avoid all the complications that I have not avoided. I now want to know, what you are going to do about it.

I purchased my 2013 BMW 328i in 2015. The car has about 46.000 miles on it, and it is just out of warranty. The check engine light went on. I took it to Stevens Creek BMW for repair. After they did the diagnosis, they texted me I need new NVLD pump. I confirmed with them that it is $546 including parts and labor. However, when I came to pick up the car, they charged me $761.89. They told me the additional $215.89 was diagnosis fee. I was wondering why the dealer charge diagnosis fee. Isnt that diagnosis part of the repair procedure. I paid the full amount anyway.I took my car and went on the freeway for couple miles. The check engine light came back on again. I assumed that they didnt test drive after the repair. I ended up to take my car back to the dealer the next day. They did another diagnosis and found a different problem. It was fuel tank venting valve. This time the problem seems fixed. I think I shouldnt pay for the diagnosis fee because I let them repair in same dealership. They didnt told me there were diagnosis fee prior to my authorization of repair. Second, I paid $190 for the fault repair pump which the fuel tank venting valve shouldnt cost that much. My suggestion is that you want to make sure what is total amount you have to pay... After the car had to towed to Bob Smith for diagnosed (it was already diagnosed elsewhere to determined the engine went bad already) they told us it will cost over $1600 to diagnosed. Only if we could beg the public not to purchase BMW, we would. If youre thinking of owning one, please think twice before you do it. BMW will give you the best service when everything is going well, but the minute something is seriously wrong with the car they will show their true color. So sad & extremely disappointed with the way BMW handled the whole situation. Weve owned 4 BMW but we are going a different direction now. I own a 2007 335i, which I purchased from BMW dealer, and always had it serviced by a BMW dealer. This time around I asked them to take a look at the issue. I once again was told that the problem was fixed and that the codes just needed to be reset. The check engine light would come on regularly and I was always told the same thing - that it was due to the software update but the car had no issues.I took my car in to the dealership right before 50,000 miles and before the warranty expired to have an oil change and at that time I was told that the car had an oil leak and the fuel pump had to be replaced. They replaced it and reset the codes once again. I explained the car was not driving properly, as it would jolt and it wouldnt accelerate. The service rep said he would check on that and make the necessary repairs. I left the dealership and on my way home the service engine light came on once again. I went back to the dealership and was told they needed to reset the codes again.A few months later, I noticed the car was leaking oil and the engine was not running properly. The service engine light was also back on. I took it to the dealership and was told it was the fuel pump, and there was a problem with the turbochargers and engine. I was told it would not be covered under the warranty as the warranty had just expired. I had them do them complete the repairs as it was necessary. In less than 24 months, Ive had to have the fuel pump and oil gaskets replaced three times. The car went into limp mode as I was driving on a busy intersection and just turned off in the middle of traffic, putting my life as well as other drivers lives in danger. I was struck from behind by a van because the driver didnt anticipate me just stopping without warning. This a huge safety issue and BMW needs to be held accountable for withholding this information from customers. I had to have my car towed to the dealership and they refuse to warranty the defective items.I called BMW North America and spoke Leah in Customer Affairs and she informed me that it was up to the dealership if they wanted to apply the warranty or not. She said it is not up to the corporate office to make those decisions. I also demanded a copy of all my service maintenance records from the BMW dealership where I had the car serviced and they refused to provide them to me.I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Ross at BMW corporate office. I told him I wanted a copy of all my maintenance records from the SM BMW dealership emailed to me, as I couldnt go there in person but needed to the records to show proof that I had the fuel pump repaired numerous times. He told me he called over to the dealership and requested the records but they refused to email them to me and proceeded to say that they dont have to give me those records.I was beyond appalled that I would be treated that way, after all I had been through given they sold me a product with a manufacturers defect. I explained that the dealership was charging me over $5,500 for the fuel pump and oil gasket repair, yet I had already paid over $8,000 to have it repaired numerous times. The dealership refused to warranty the defective items. I am beyond disgusted with their lies, fraudulent practices and their sheer incompetence. Ive decided to retain legal counsel at this point.

I purchased a 2011 X5 brand new from the factory back in 2011 and was experiencing some squeaking noises coming from the front end of the car. I complained to my servicing dealer about the problem back in 2011 or 2012 and they never took any action on the problem. However fast forward to 2013, the problem got worse and occurred on a frequent basis which was very embarrassing to me. In May of this year, my U-joint broke. My truck was down for about 2 1/2-3 weeks. During this time I complained about the squeaking noise as well. The U-joint was repaired; however, the truck was still making the squeaking noise. Took the truck back to the dealer for the noise. The truck was down again for about another 2 weeks. However the squeaking noise was still occurring. I took the truck back again but I was told by my service advisor he didnt hear the noise so I should record it when I hear it and email him the noise so that he could send it to the shop foreman. I did so and returned the truck to the dealer. The truck was down for another 2-3 weeks and when I got it back, the squeaks turned into a whining noise. In addition to the fact that I now had oil leaks. At this point, I took the truck back to the dealer and filed complaints with the BBB, Consumer Affairs in addition to contacting BMW N. America. I was told that due to the mileage and age of my truck that BMW was not liable for the issues I was having with my truck thus they would not provide me with a new vehicle or provide a sufficient monetary amount to buy out my finance contract, etc. I am very disappointed that a luxury vehicle has performed so poorly and BMW does not want to immediately take responsibility for a defective product. However they did offer me $2k for my inconvenience on the condition that I sign a confidentiality agreement which would release them of all responsibility of any issues I may have with my vehicle past present and future in addition to agreeing to not disclose the nature of my experience with the defects and failures of my vehicle.

I Vikash ** owner of my 320D BMW, which I had purchase on 14th Feb 2018 from RANCHI JHARKHAND sharing here my experience with this brand and their agencies. The tyre of left side both front and rear crack at ones on running condition on 22nd Dec 2018 on smooth road in a speed of 50 to 60 km/hr. Now see the quality of material using by this brand. The agency persons of Ranchi are not able to clear the reason. And also they are worst in giving updates. I had drived my car approx 14000 km and BMW given me this gift. I am totally dissatisfied of my decision for going to purchase this BRAND.

At the end of the 4th year, my front windshield rubber sealer started crack
At the end of the 4th year, my front windshield rubber sealer started cracking and falling off - small cracks on the back window as well. I talked to my dealer and I was told, It is normal. Ive never had such normal experience with other vehicles - Ford, Nissan, Lexus and Benz. It is not covered under warranty. I was told it is not even a service provided at the dealership. Id be better off if I just call an auto glass shop. I strongly advise BMW to use better material for the sealer.

My fiances 2006 Cooper S with 71,000 miles and with all scheduled maintenance done as scheduled has thrown a connecting rod destroying the engine. I had requested some assistance from Mini USA and was denied only because it is a little bit out of warranty. After listening to an interview on Whiteroof radio, its obvious there are known problems with the engines from a few years ago that have been fixed but that does us absolutely no good. The dealer where we took it cant even give a good reason (oil level was fine) why this would happen. It is still there after 3 weeks waiting to see if they can get us more than the $4,500 that was originally offered to us. There is no way we can or will pay the $9,000 they quoted to put in a rebuilt engine. Needless to say, we are very upset since until recently we had 3 minis in the family. Why would such a large company choose to not at least to partially assist such a loyal customer. All this after we spent over $2,500 just a few months ago to fix suspension problems. She wanted the BMW Countryman next but well see how this plays out and we may never buy any BMW or Mini products ever again as well as telling everyone that will listen.
