This is a complaint regarding lease termination inspection for BMW and outrageous payment that BMW charges for repair. I had an inspection for my BMW 528i on March 14, 2012 for the lease termination done by reps from Data Scan. For some reasons, the inspector refused to give me a repair cost after on-site inspection and suggested to call next day. He pointed 5 scratches on the body though. When I called next day, it turns out it was the phone number of BMW Financial Services. The representative told me over the phone that complete repair cost is $900.00.About a week later a got a statement from BMW Financial Services showing that my repair cost (5 scratches, from 2.5 to 10 long) is $2,700. I have a strong feeling that BMW running a scam, trying to punish customers who do not want to continue leasing from BMW. I paid my charges already but I want everyone who consider leasing BMW what they will face at the end of the lease termination.

My 2006 BMW 325i passenger seat sensor failure causes SRS (airbag system) light on dashboard to remain on. There exists a recall for this known manufacturing defect (National Highway Safety Administration Campaign 08V384000), which results in disabling the passenger airbag. This caused me to fail the annual inspection with only one option to pass, which will cost over $1000. Although this recall exists for my model and year, BMW USA claims my VIN is not part of the recall, in spite of the fact that my car presents this hazard.

I love BMW and always will. It’s best car in the world. I’ve bought a BMW 320msport convertible 7 months ago and one day when I used the headlight washer on the motor way, they blew off. After checking on the web, I found that it’s a common fault. It’s in a BMW forum. You can check them. Many people said that BMW done theirs as a courtesy and now BMW are doing it under warranty. But my dealer wants to charge me. My reg # is **. It’s a common fault and I am not happy to pay for mine. Why are they blowing off?

I just purchased a new 2015 BMW 328i xDrive from my local BMW dealership about 6 months before I received a transmission fault warning and the car had rolled while in park into oncoming traffic crashing into a guardrail. Luckily the car rolled so slowly, it only caused very minimal scratches to the front bumper and no one was hurt. I made a complaint to BMW North America and had the car inspected. When I first left at the dealership, BMW let me know it would be looked at by the in house mechanics as well as their corporate team, and that they would keep me updated on the inspection progression. This process took over a month and when I inquired about the car, the dealership informed me the final corporate inspection was done 2 weeks prior to my inquiry; and that they were told someone in their corporate division was supposed to notify me of the report. Since no one would tell me what the status of my car was, I called the corporate office where I was told the car was looked at, and the mechanics were unable to find any significant faults or factory defects. Since no factory defects were found, BMW took no responsibility to what happened to my car, told me it was safe to drive and that they would sent me a report of the inspection.BMW never sent me the promised report of the inspection and I didnt not want the car back as it felt very unsafe. Ive owned the car only 6 months and put less than 4,000 miles on the car before this terrifying incident occurred. BMW told me the car was valued now at only $27,000 of the original $60,000 and would suffer the difference to return it.Before this car, I owned a 2003 325xi, which had a manufacturer recall in the driver and passenger seat heating system causing the seats to overheat. The seat heaters burned holes in each seat through the leather, burning my thigh in the drivers seat. I notified BMW of this and they told me they would only fix the burned drivers seat, not the burned passengers seat because the car was out of warranty, and that I was lucky they would even fix that.I made the mistake of buying a BMW not once but twice now, thinking they had well manufactured cars and mediocre customer service. Now I am certain they have unsafe cars and terrible if any customer service. I feel very generous giving BMW 1 star but 0 isnt an option. If you are looking to purchase a new or used BMW, do yourself a favor and buy an Audi instead.

My car was at Spring Valley BMW for a week being serviced. I went to pick up my car, paid, got in and drove home for my brother to scream at me “KIMBERLY what the ** happen to your car!” I’m like, What! He said, “You don’t ** see that! I looked and my mouth dropped right away. I went back to BMW. My back bumper was smashed and my light was broken. I was gone not even 10 minutes. The manager at BMW was very rude and nasty telling me this did not happen there. And I was responsible to cover the damage. Someone at BMW while in their possession crashed my car. Backed it in and knew I would get in and drive off. I took my car in for internal problems nothing having to do with the body. I did know I had to do a 360. My main concern was that my car was running properly. Not that my car would be smashed. How does that happen? Then for the manager to be so rude and mean to me blaming me like I did that damage. As he walks in he says to me “looks like someone is going to need a new bumper! That is no way to treat nor talk to a customer who just spent money and then having her car damaged from someone at BMW. Unacceptable. No one should have to go through this. Horrible.

I purchased a car at Melbourne BMW from Colorado. I was out of town on business. They cashed my 2000 $ deposit and ran my credit and asked when I was going to pick up my car, I told them Tuesday. They said, ok will have it detailed now. Then they sold my car to someone else on Sunday and still was holding the 2000 $ but this is not the issue. They sold the same car to two different people. BMW of Melbourne and BMW do not have ethics.

BMW is not fixing my vehicle under full manufacturer warranty. I was told by a customer service representatives that there will be no fix to the issue below and mainly the safety seat belt issue. The management at the BMW of North America is ignoring my request to speak with them about any resolution. They are holding my vehicle until the warranty expires in 40 days so they can kick my vehicle out of their shop. I have a loaner vehicle with an expired tag from weeks and I have received 5 tickets for it so far. Critz BMW dealership finally give me a sticker after many complaints.Fuel injectors failed first after a month of purchasing this vehicle and failed again after six months both times my vehicle was the dealership from 4 days to 6 days. Appointment is made for the third time and BMW is holding my vehicle from almost 28 days now at the Critz BMW dealership in Savannah, GA and they will be still holding it until two more weeks since they can’t fix the issue.Seat belt Malfunction for Passenger side not fixed after many complaints from six months and BMW is holding my vehicle from almost 28 days now and they will be holding it until two more weeks since they can’t fix the issue. The dealership is telling me that they are trying to find a way to replace the sensor under the passenger seat but BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate they issue. I can’t have a passenger or my wife in my car due to the seat belt safety issue. I told BMW USA that I will be holding them responsible for any safety issue to someone’s life due to the seat belt issue that BMW USA is not fixing and their reply was “We can’t do anything about it.”The Car is vibrating at 40MPH. BMW found Irregular tire wear on the front tires.. But I have a full warranty on all tires with BMW that I have purchased since I bought this vehicle from BMW, the warranty is based on all the road hazards and the cause of the vibration is road hazards and BMW is not replacing the tires. I have found someone else is insurance and registration in my car, someone from the Critz BMW dealership was driving my vehicle for private use since I saw the change in mileage and evidence of someone’s insurance and registration information.Engine makes big noise at the start after parked for 8 hrs or more. The backup camera is stop working sometimes and the navigation is loading slowly. It’s been six months or more that I am in contact with BMW of North America and the customer service department at BMW of North America along with their managements are ignoring the whole situation and are holding my vehicle hostage at the Critz BMW in Savannah, GA 31401 since FEB 12/2015 until the Manufacturer warranty expires in some 40 days. BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate the issue and they can’t fix it but not sure why they are holding my vehicle with them. They give me a longer vehicle with an expired Tag which I received 5 tickets so far but Critz BMW told me that they will be paying for it but I have to deal with all the frustrations. I reached out to BBB and at first they accept my case but later denied it after they contacted BMW of North America. The representative from BMW of North America told me over the phone in a sarcastic way that “Your case is denied from BBB and you have no case against us.” I contacted State of Georgia Governor’s office but no reply from them and I have also reached out to the Department of Highway safety for the seatbelt safety issue and no reply from them as will. I searched for an attorney to file a Georgia Lemon law case for me but attorneys told me that I have no case since my vehicle have 36500 Miles on it even though it’s still under full manufacturer warranty.

I am writing in regards to a failure by BMW to honor their warranty for my Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV). I first purchased my 2003 BMW 325is (SULEV) with approximately 116,000 miles on the vehicle. As with any used car, I was sure to do my research before committing to buy. I was aware it contained a M56 engine rather than a M54, as well as the fact it utilized a considerably expensive stainless-steel fuel tank opposed to the plastic one found in a regular e46 in accordance to its emission minimization. I also noticed that stated clearly in the Service & Warranty booklet, the car was still under a specific California Emissions Warranty which, If any emission related part on your vehicle is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by BMW NA. This is your emission control system defects warranty... for 15 years or 150,000 miles whichever occurs first. Considering that emissions related parts would be covered for another 34,000 miles, the car ran like brand new, and it was a beautifully spotless silver e46. For $6,500, I could not resist nor did I have anything to fear. How ignorant I was. The car performed flawlessly with no problems until it reached about 125,000 miles when suddenly, out of the blue, the car would not start. I had my trusted mechanic inspect the car and he informed me that the problem was a failed fuel pump, which could not be replaced without replacing the entire fuel tank, reason being that they are in actuality attached as a single part.Recalling that this is under the specific emissions warranty, I had the car diagnosed at my local dealer, Life Quality BMW located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It was confirmed that the problem was in fact a fuel pump failure, and that the entire fuel tank would require replacement. I was quoted approximately $11,500 including parts, labor, and taxes. I informed the sales associate that I am not liable for such a repair, and that this particular part is under a 150,000/15-year warranty. He chuckled to himself and stated no such warranty exists. He had never heard of such a claim, and even went as far as consulting his manager, Nick **, to be completely certain. I informed him I would return with valid proof, as well as have BMW USA contact the dealership directly. With a grin he replied, Good luck. I hope you find the answers youre looking for. I phoned BMW USA where a customer relations representative confirmed my car was in fact under warranty, and that he would contact the manager of the dealership. I then returned to the dealership, Service & Warranty booklet in hand, and requested to speak to the service manager, Robert **. At first, he printed out the quote for repairs and ensured me that my car was not under warranty. After showing him page 38 of the 325is service and warranty booklet available publicly on BMW USAs own website, he seemed to suddenly experience a magical awakening and did not continue to insist that the warranty was construed by my imagination. Instead, after consulting the manager, Mr. **, he claimed the dealership has no problem performing the service under warranty as long as they have direct written consent from BMW USA. Although someone had contacted the dealership previously, Mr. ** denied that this ever happened. I stepped outside and contacted BMW USA on the spot, and had a representative contact the dealership. The representative informed me that he did get in contact with Nick **, who stated he would have research done to make sure the car was actually under warranty, where then they would contact me directly. I received a phone call two days later informing me the car is not under warranty and I will be charged $50 a day for storage fees if I do not pay for the service.I have now been somewhat blackmailed. My car has now been at this dealership for approximately 2 weeks, and I have contacted BMW USA as well as the dealership that both persist to regard one another as a higher power capable of making the decision on my car. When I attempted to contact BMW USA, they now informed me that my case is under investigation. I have run out of patience and am extremely frustrated with the disorganized, dilettante service I have experienced. This dishonesty is the exact reason laws such as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 are in existence and the exact reason I have decided to put this matter in the hands of the Supreme Court. I have taken steps to initiate legal action against both BMW USA as well as my local dealer, Nick **. I do not feel I should be punished for driving an environmentally friendly vehicle.

While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive beg
While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive began to experience a tapping sound from the engine and shortly thereafter, the check engine light lit up, at which point we used the BMW Assist feature for advice and to locate the nearest BMW Dealer. Explaining our situation to the BMW Representative, we asked for the nearest BMW dealer. Unfortunately they were over a hundred miles away, but the BMW representative informed us that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We thanked her and proceeded on our journey. A couple of hours later, the tapping turned into a knocking sound and we again used the BMW Assist feature who located a dealer in Rochester, NY. She proceeded to place a 3-way call and remained in the background to listen. We were informed from the dealer that they could not get us in, but he reiterated that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We continued into Canada, checked into a hotel, and parked the car for the night, searching the internet to locate the closest dealer which turned out to be Performance BMW in St. Catherines Ontario. We brought the car to Performance BMW in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the hopes that they could have a look to diagnose the problem.Tanya ** was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and she got our car right into a bay for diagnosis. We sat patiently for almost 2 hours until we were informed that it is taking longer to figure out the problem, and that BMW uses Enterprise Rental rather than loaner BMWs and we were put into a Hyundai Sonata, which is NOWHERE near a comparable vehicle to what I have purchased. After returning to the dealer to get the remainder of our luggage, Tanya informed us that as soon as they have a diagnosis, they would contact us.We returned to the dealer the following day hoping to get the car, and continue our vacation to New Hampshire, when we were informed that the main bearing of the crankshaft was the problem, and that the parts have to be ordered from Germany, which would take anywhere from 3-6 weeks plus the time needed to put everything back together. We were advised that Performance BMW could only cover the rental for the end of the day (second day) and that we would have to cover the remaining rental time, and then submit our expenses as part of the trip interruption clause, but there is no guarantee that it will be reimbursed. We have made several attempts to contact BMW North America. All we have been told is that until we have our vehicle back & submit our expenses, BMW North America will take the expenses under consideration for reimbursement. This is unacceptable.BMW of Mt. Laurel (purchasing dealer), indicated that if we had brought our car there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; and Performance BMW indicated that if we had purchased the vehicle in Canada, and brought it there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; but since a foreign dealer is working on a foreign car, neither dealer wants to cover the cost of the BMW loaner vehicle that we are entitled to let alone figure how to get it back to us.Once the car has been repaired and everything is in working order, we now have a new problem. We already took our vacation, now we have to take time off work to get our vehicle that failed. In addition, we now have a new car that had to have its engine rebuilt with less than 30,000 miles...not only will it affect our comfort level in this vehicle (do we take it on a trip, will it break down, what will it cost, etc.) but now we feel that this will affect the trade-in value of the car. I have spoken w/ several service advisers and sales personnel all said that this engine issue is not at all common, and the work will not affect the value of the car. However, I do not believe that is an accurate statement. There has to be something that can/will be done by BMW to correct this issue. At this point, I feel that BMW should replace the vehicle w/ a comparable BMW. If your resolve of this matter is not to our satisfaction, we will have no other choice but to leave the BMW and purchase a better quality luxury vehicle.

I own BMW 2009 335i and had fuel injector went wrong. I took it to import car specialist and diagnosed/ready to be repaired when I read the article about the injector recall on 2010, previously produced BMW. I called toll free to confirm if that is true. A representative responded my call and told me it is not the recall, but they extended warranty and told me to take it to the dealership. I was about to spend $1700 at the import specialist, so I was so excited about it. I called repair shop right away and canceled the repair, and told them I just spoke BMW representatives and he said I have warranty. The repair guy congratulated me saving a lot and asked me to tow my car since the sounds are real unstable so I towed my car to dealership. They took my statement took my car.The next day, the dealership called me and told me I dont have warranty and call the company again to confirm. So I called the same number, the representative who answered my phone was so rude (and she will contact me several more times to tell me the exactly the same story) and asked my VIN number, and the VIN number I gave her doesnt have the warranty. I tried to explain to her what had happened a day before, but she wouldnt listen. She kept saying that she doesnt have any record of me calling, even if I copied my phone call photos and Verizon statement. Several uncomfortable conversations/emails/proof of BMW dealers statement of it saying I believed that the warranty was covered at the time of my vehicle was received at the dealership, they denied their responsibilities, and treated me like I am the liar.Who would go through that trouble not believing having warranty, paying $700 more than the imported specialist and towing and double dipping diagnostic fees. My car is still in dealers while I argued with them to admit their mistakes, but no apologies, but I became a liar of calling them, they couldnt find my number that morning calls... etc.I still dont have car two weeks later (still in the dealership) and wrote a last email, I gave up. All I can do is let my friends and family know what theyve done to me, how they treat their customers and encourage them not to be in a situations like me. It is not only pain to deal with people who doesnt believe me with all the evidence I presented, but also ignore their responsibilities of what they informed to their customers. I ended up will pay close to $2500 to change the problem injectors, but I ended up not suffering from them ever because I will never take my car to the dealership and never buy another BMW.I really regret my friends recommendation not to buy one years ago, all I would get is trouble... and yes. Anyone out there, know this. They will tell you, while looking at the image of your phone record, You never called us, we dont have a record of your number. Not honest, soon or later the business will pay the price for it. Just like our lives.

I am the third owner of an 08 BMW 535I with a bad high pressure fuel pump (recall) that has been replaced two times in the last three years. This would be the third time for replacement, but Gwinnett BMW refuses to replace it. They said it was the alternator, and OM battery that caused the problem to the high pressure fuel pump and my warranty or recall would not be honored. There is nothing wrong with my alternator or battery, they are operating properly. If there is an OM battery in the vehicle it had to be placed in the vehicle prior to my purchase. At the end of my wifes lease, she had an inspection report done at the BMW dealership where she had started the lease from. They performed an inspection of the car, then to find out that after she left, BMW Financial had the car picked up and brought to another state to only then get an excessive damage bill in the mail of an extra $500.00 dollars. My wife said where did this come from, we had an inspection done at the dealership and there was no such damage done to the car, my wife then said please show me pictures of the damage; they could not produce such pictures, but to only say she is being held liable for the excessive damages, and it has been harassment from that point on.Now, they have a place called vital recovery that is threatening her if she does not pay and going into our personal accounts. This is extremely poor taste of business from such a large car dealership. They cannot produce any proof of damages but to only say that the damages are there, here is a financial company that took a vehicle that she once leased and took it into another state, and then, they said that they performed another inspection and that is where they are coming up with this extra damage. Now, how much of a trap is that. My wife told them that I then needed to be at this inspection to witness it but now look what BMW financial is trying to pull, I say they damaged the car transporting it, and are looking for my wife to pay for it, and I wont have that. All they are doing is harassing my wife everyday.

I looked up all of these reviews to decide what to do about my 2011 BMW Coupe. I previously owned a 2007 328xi sedan. When the 6 years of warranty ran out, I had expenses of over $1000 frequently. I traded it in on a 2011 Coupe, with warranty. I almost have 50,000 miles on this car and I will definitely spend $2000.00 to get the next warranty. Then I will sell the car or trade it in. I love my BMWs. They are fun to drive and MY dealers have been great. The first was DeSimone BMW in Mt. Laurel, NJ, the current one is in Atlantic City, NJ. I always get a loaner car. The staff is polite and they answer my every need. As long as the car is under warranty, it is all good. It is so sad for me to read the horror stories on this site. I thought I was getting ripped off buying my 2011, it seems not. I wish the best for all of you. These are expensive cars, and for me they are worth it for the service and atmosphere, AND driving.

I purchased a used BMW that was purchased as a certified pre-own by the previous owner. The warranty extended through 2019 up to 100k miles. I thought this would be a transferable warranty seeing that it was purchased through BMW. I called in and was transferred to a third party company who had no record of the warranty. I called BMW back to which another person explained that the warranty can no longer be transferred because I did not buy the car directly from the previous owner. There was a third party involved. I offered to pay a transfer fee, have the car reinspected or whatever yet BMW would not transfer the warranty. I was surprised that BMW wouldn’t want to stand by a car that they certified as good based on a transfer of ownership that involved a third party. That seems like bad business to me and way to force a new owner to repurchase the same warranty again. I would suggest others be aware of this clause when purchasing a used BMW.

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.

I own an 08 BMW 4S with 65,000 miles. The GPS failed and the dealer priced the repair at $1,435 to repair it. Need I say more? $1,435 to fix a GPS when Google Maps on my I-phone has a better GPS than the car did. Called BMW USA and they told me they could offer no help. This could be the last time I purchase a BMW. The Dealer is fantastic and the service specialist Terrance ** is top notch.

I have bought a BMW 7 Series in May 2009. I had horrible experience with the car and the services. Till now the car has gone for servicing more than 15 times (which is too much as compared to an Audi & Merc.). The gear box has failed twice. Had to change all the 4 tires twice. The mileage is horrible. It shows a regular transmission failure issue. Battery had to be replaced. The car hasnt traveled more than 55000 kms. I strongly recommend not to buy this car. After paying such a huge amount I felt cheated.

I own a 2007 BMW 530i and cant believe the problems it is giving me. I have taken it to the dealer every month since August 2011 until now. I had major problems with power steering not working, alternator pulley damaged with belt, engine overheating, left fuel level sensor cap leaking, coolant pump not working, lower radiator hose and coolant temp sensor leaking, vibrating at high speed, radiator leakage at the bottom and after radiator replacement upper radiator hose was leaking. Stranded again with internal fault in starter as per the dealers service center. Washer fluid pump leakage was found. After all the repairs since August, I ended up at the dealers with transmission malfunction indicator and was told it was due to one of the crankshaft sensors that was faulty. During the check, they also found oil filter housing gasket leaking. Owning this car has been one expensive and frustrating experience. I would not recommend this car. We pay the price for quality and not this torture. I have owned a Mazda 323,Toyota Sienna, Camry, Mercedes and Volkswagen that have lasted for more than 175,000 miles with no major issues. Owning this car has been the worst experience of my life. I contacted the corporate office for BMW and was told that they will take the complaint but no one from their office has to call us back.

BMW is the Toyota of Germany. Reading all the reviews, the non-response of the company, and the mechanic/engine problems of the car, I cant help but remember what this company is selling - a prestige status symbol. Anyone whos thinking of buying a BMW needs to take a trip to Berlin, Germany first. In the debt-ridden capital, you will see that BMWs are the bread and butter cars of Germany. BMWs line up the streets next to homeless shelters, graffiti parks, and taxi stands. Delinquent juvenile teenagers drive a BMW. Older middle class ordinary citizens drive a BMW. People who have no teeth have a BMW. BMWs are just about the most commonplace car in Germany, like a Toyota Camry here. Somehow, the brilliant marketing campaign and the high price tag for initial purchase and maintenance have convinced North Americans that BMWs are a luxury ultimate driving machine. Autobahn sounds so cool in English. In German, auto means car, bahn means way (as in U Bahn, sub-way, S Bahn, another type of subway, and autobahn, car-way or highway). Before you think that the company will value your $400,000 spending over 10 years, think again. They dont really care as they are already laughing all the way to the bank. In fact, the more expensive the maintenance, the more prestigious the brand. The brand is for people who have money to burn. The more mechanic problems, breakdowns, and barriers the company creates, the more it sets the people apart in who can maintain this prestige factor. Before you buy a BMW, go to Germany and spend a week in the major cities and walk around the poor areas. And once you see how commonplace BMWs are, the more youll think twice about doing what you are doing.

After receiving a recall letter from BMW for the brake vacuum pump (recall campaign no. 10v-446), I took the car to Crevier BMW but was told they didnt have the part. I never heard back from Crevier BMW, and I forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. I had the car towed to the nearest dealer in Irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended that I replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900. The description of the problem included in the recall letter from BMW specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose is the root of the problem. I spoke to Jody ** at BMW and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line and not the pump.I have owned BMW cars for more than 12 years, you would think they would stand behind their product and keep a loyal customer happy. They truly do not care about the customer. They will only take care of the problem if the car is leased and/or under warranty, and even then, theyll put off the work until the car is out of warranty.I have had a new 750Li since 2006. From the beginning, the engine oil light would come on and I would have to take the car in to be topped off. I kept asking why I had to do this so often and they assured me that it was normal for the 750. I had a new 745 before this car and I never had this problem. I didnt worry about it since there was no sign of a leak on my garage floor. Now that the car is out of warranty, they tell me that there is a leak.

Was recently informed by BMW they are no longer supporting BMW ASSIST which is a feature that INCLUDED (past tense) collision detection as well as stolen vehicle recovery along with other functionality such as being able to send Google directions to the vehicle. My X5 is a 2012 (!) vehicle!!! With all the BS advertising BMW has out there about how great their cars are and how safety is a great concern for their customers, trying to get an answer other than we are sorry for any disappointment this may cause you is totally and complete BS!The manner I found out about their decision to stop supporting these features is not because I purchased one of their vehicles (brand new) but because I noticed the ability to send directions to my vehicle was not working. Pretty pathetic manner to manage customer loyalty. BUYER BEWARE if buying a used BMW... UNDERSTAND CLEARLY your vehicle based on whatever year it may be (2013 BACK...??!) will not have important safety features such as collision detection nor stolen vehicle recovery... period. If I had not purchased an extended warranty to 100 K miles I would be selling this thing ASAP. Will be a cold day in hell before I purchase another vehicle from this company.

The car (2013 BMW 550i M pack) has been top 10 from day one, a little low on gas mileage but great power. This has been my 4th BMW and just about all of them have been nothing but excellent automobiles, that said, I wont be getting a 5th, Moritz BMW on Arlington TX was just outstanding on making the sales, very happy with the experiences but... the service department was nothing but condescending and arrogant folks. I try Autobahn in Fort Worth TX and they did a lot better but still, not at the level I was hoping for. The car outperformed just about anything I ever had except for minor details. Because of the 2013 M pack the car has 20 wheels and they seem to be great for highway high speed but on plain city streets you need to be very careful. I purchased a full coverage road hazard contract for the tires and wheels so, after some unfortunate road bumps, some tires had to be replaced. A great car and thats the true, power train, body, interior, electronics and the whole thing. Honestly I couldnt find a better tuned road beast for under the price I paid for it, around $73000.00. The only other car with enough quality worth of mentioning was a 2009 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sport Package, that was too a great car but, thats another story.

I have a very big disappointment with the way your services are rendered with regards to availability of Parts. Anyone who purchases BMW expects no harassment and quick service from your company’s end. However this is my second instance that my car is hold in your service center for at least 25 days due to non-availability of part that is as common as a headlight.Last time car in service center was due to a manufacturing fault. Still had to wait for a period of not less than a month. Even this time if I have to wait for similar timeline for headlight replacement I don’t see any customer satisfaction or value for the amount spent. Point been please fix my car in a weeks’ time. If done so I will be very much obliged.Car was purchased from dealer- INFINITY CARS PVT LTD. When it was taken we were never warned about these shortfalls in your service center otherwise I would have never purchased your car and especially a new model. Also I will like to share my experience which is quite an unsatisfied one to not purchase any new model launched by BMW for at least 2 years till service centers start stocking at least the most popular parts.

I was told by an honest employee at BMW in GA that all plastic on the newer BMWs are recycled and sprayed on. I am now getting peeling plastic all over the inside of my car (2006 BMW 330i). My outside passenger lower panel is coming off because the screws are plastic and cheap and cant hold the panel, so the panel is falling off. My back window regulator which, again, is made of plastic, wont let me roll up my window. Once the window is down, its broken! It wont go back up!I hate BMWs. Like one mechanic told me, BMW has built these cars to break down. They dont want you getting 200,000 or 300,000 miles on them, any longer. They want them to be problematic so you take the car back to BMW for them to rip you off and say to hell with it, Ill buy another BMW! BMW is getting greedy, and they need to die a slow death. Engine rebuild after 110,000 miles - Heres the scenario. I was driving home from work and a yellow thermometer lit up on the display screen and in less than 10 seconds, a red thermometer was displayed. I pulled off the freeway and immediately felt the lack of power in the car. It felt like I was driving a 4 cylinder car. There was never any warning of low fluids or overheating before this. I filled it with BMW coolant and drove it to my mechanic. While I was driving to the mechanic, I got a low fluid warning, yellow thermometer and red thermometer within 30 seconds. My mechanic took a look at it and I have a blown head gasket, which is costing me $2200. Ive owned the car since day one and have kept up with all the maintenance, with one year out of warranty. I didnt expect this to happen. BMW has to add temperature gauges to their center display. I had no knowledge that my engine was overheating or that I was low on fluid until it was too late. Im out $2,200 and need to find alternative transportation while my car is being repaired. At this point, I would not recommend a BMW for anyone.

My name is Anura, and Im from Chino Hills, California. Exactly 1 (one) week after my 72 months/100,000 miles warranty on my BMW 745 Lis was expired, I started to experience series of expensive car repairs. First, it got overheated and smoke started coming out of engine without a prior warning, after driving to Long Beach, California, just 45 miles with my family. I had to change all the plans and have it towed to my mechanic. It ended up costing me nearly $2,600 worth of repair work before getting the car back. A month or so later my transmission started slipping. This cost me another $3,100. 6 months later, I took it in to have it checked for serious oil and coolant leak problems. They had to change the valve cover gasket, coolant sensor and some coolant hoses, costing me another $3,600. Now Im having a serious smoking (out of tail pipe) problem, which will not make it pass the smog test. I got an estimate of $3,600 to fix that problem. Additionally, I have all kinds of flashing warning lights on the dash board. I hate to admit, if I want to go somewhere without having to worry about breaking down on the way, I wouldnt dare take my luxury BMW 745 Li, but rather my back up pick up truck Nissan Frontier. I intend to file a Lemon on this. If anyone has any advice or tips, please contact me at **. Thanks.

There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.

Several months ago BMW sent me a letter to bring my car in to be service for a recalls and/or updates. They returned my car stating they would contact me later to finish the job after a part they needed came in. A few months later they called me to bring my car back in. A week later, I received a call from a service department person saying they broke the engine coil off my car and will have to take the whole engine out now. Im nervous because my car was driving fine before I got the letter and the call to bring my car back in to BMW. The guy who kept communicating with me said hes going on vacation for a week but someone else he named would be taking care of things. No one contacted me about my car. When he returned from vacation he called. He said he was back and they are waiting on a part and when it come in they will pull my engine out.I asked, Will it driving like it was when I bought it in? He replied, It should be better. Im knowing, nothing was wrong with my car. I didnt even know why or what needed updating. He said the mechanic is going on vacation now for a week. A week later he called saying, Im just calling to keep you informed and we have another car engine on the table right now and as soon as we finish with it, were going to put yours on it. My husband is in from Florida and hes asking me how do a car going in for updates end up having the engine pulled out of it? He following up saying, Once they pull your engine it will never drive the same again. Another friend whom is a Director at a college stated they would have to give me a warranty stating if anything happens to my engine they will fix it no matter what the problem is or give me a new car. Im more scared and upset. The following week the service person call me again on Friday saying, Well we finally got your car in and getting ready to work on it and you should have it back by Tuesday or Wednesday. So far they have had my car a month so I drove to BMW when they were closed on that Sunday and across the street from them sit my car with a small plate hanging off the front of it by a wire and parked crooked. Now, Im upset and all trust of the one keeping me informed is all out the window. I called and left him a message about me seeing my car on the other lot. He called back saying they are working on it now and it should be ready by the end of the day. I said to him, Im concerned about my car sitting for weeks and whether it will run right. He told me they ensure whatever parts they put on it for two years. I didnt feel that was good enough.I got a call from him later saying, Your car is ready but in all honesty I just dont feel right giving you back your car without the mechanic driving it for the whole weekend and hes getting ready to put some miles on your car. I said, Well have him drive it on the highway to make sure its driving ok and he said he will. Maybe the mechanic is driving it out of town for the 4th of July.My car is a fully loaded pearl color 750Li xDrive Super Sport Twin Turbo Engine, which I made a payment on in June as it sat on BMW lot due to their mistake. They tried to put me in a 3-Series. I wouldnt take it so they put me in a 5-Series with Sam Swope courtesy vehicle in big bold letters across the back window and had me return it because they sold it, they said. I had it for over three weeks. They put me in a black 5-Series afterwards that is more up to date and I still have it. Basically, BMW has had my car for about 6 weeks and the mechanic still have it at his house right now somewhere.

We bought a used 2007 550I from Momentum Southwest Houston BMW. It were all lies from the start. The salesman tells us the car has to have special tires, which were on the car and they installed 2 of them. On the test drive, the salesman would not show us how to use the paddle shifters SMG 6 speed. After 6 weeks of begging for a manual and spare key, we finally got a manual and key which we had to pay for. The paddle shifters do not work, as well as the driver seat thigh support motor. One cold 40 degree morning, the check engine light comes on. When my wife got home, I put my scan tool on it. The thermostat is bad stuck open and we took it to dealer as we bought warranty. The warranty company says it does not cover all pre-existing conditions. I talked to the GM at the dealer and they offered to replace the seat motor and repair the paddle shifters for free. While it was there, they call and tell us that all front and rear control arms are bad and needed to be replaced. With an alignment of roughly $2100, I told them Ill take care of the thermostat and suspension. I install lift kits in trucks for a living, and the parts for MOOG are cheaper, but the dealer wants $1800 for parts. MOOG parts at retail are $249.00, I can do the math. We can take it back there for alignment if they dont try to jerk us around for something else. I wont probably buy another one. What a **. We drive off the lot, it depreciates and needs $5000.00 worth of repairs before we get it home.

The husband and I both have BMWs. Mine is a 2010 and his is a 2011. After getting extremely crummy service at Fairfax BMW in Fairfax, VA, we decided to try Sterling BMW in Sterling, VA. Surely BMW doesnt hand out their Center of Excellence awards all willy-nilly-like, right? Well, apparently, they did in 2010. While there are many additional detailed points of their suckage, I will provide you the highlights:I took the 2010 in to get new tires. After spending $2000 on 4 new kicks mounted and balanced and alignment for the old girl, they wanted to charge us over $100 to fill the tires with Nitrogen. While I understand its a business, dont nickel and dime me when I just dropped $2000. After finally getting my car back, we drove it home. Traffic was a little rough that evening, so we werent going terribly fast. The next day, however, we noticed a major wobble. The vibration was so bad, the side mirrors were shaking. I got to work and felt like I had driven a jackhammer instead of my luxury car. I took it back in on Monday. They finally called on Tuesday, claiming it was two bad tires. Alright, fine. When we went to pick up my car, they couldnt find it. Let me repeat that. When I went to go rescue my car, they had misplaced it. It took the entire service department, a few of the sales guys and over an hour to find it. Immediately after picking it up, we magically had squeaky brakes that we had never had before. The sad thing is that Id rather listen to the brakes than to BMW Sterlings horrible excuses.During the same time, we had my husbands SUV in for several items that BMW Fairfax couldnt fix after repeated visits. These included brakes, slipping transmission, air conditioning and a rattle in the tailgate. They had the Bears car for over a week. They replaced the brakes and fixed the AC. They could not, however, recreate the slipping transmission and they said they could not hear the rattle, despite the fact that they let the technician drive our car home one night (Im still reeling at that one especially when they asked my husband if that would be okay and he said no)! Of course, we heard the rattle in the tailgate as soon as we left the dealership. Call us crazy, I guess. We changed from Audi over to BMW because of service issues. We had a 5 series and a Mini Cooper prior to getting our current cars. When we got these cars in San Francisco, we were in love with the cars and the dealership/service. At this point, we are about a millisecond away from switching to Mercedes. Apparently, our paltry two-car household matters not to the auto giant. Between the incompetence, attitude and just overall cheapness, I cant see spending another cent with BMW. Dare I say lemon? I dare.Ha! So we got a call from BMW USA. After playing phone tag for 3 weeks, the Rep rushed us through our side of what has happened. She kept saying she was sorry we felt that way anytime we mentioned how disappointed we were about the crummy service or the shoddy quality. When she asked what we wanted, DH mentioned we would love to be able to just settle things amicably without having to consult a lemon-law lawyer. She said that if that was what we wanted to do, go ahead. This doesnt bode well for their Customer Service. I will update with results.Update #2: We were promised a resolution within 3-5 business days. We are on the 4th business day and just got a call from BMW USA to tell us they dont have a resolution yet. Surprise, surprise. And, there is no update on when we will know something. We are not surprised one single bit, aside from the fact that they called at all. What do you want to bet that they will wait until we make our next payment in 6 days and then call to tell us they cant do anything?Update #3: My husband finally called and was told we would hear something early in the week during the week of 7/16. They are supposedly waiting to hear something from Fairfax BMW. Im not holding my breath.Another update: We were supposed to hear from Customer Service last week. Nada. DH called on Friday, 7/20, and asked for her extension. It rang and someone else answered. DH requested our rep and was asked what it was in regard to. He told her we are trying to give back our lemon. She said she would look up our case, looked up the information and surprise! She couldnt find anything. He asked then to get transferred to our reps phone and he left a message requesting a call back that day. Again, nothing. We got a call back from her today, 7/23. The phone didnt ring; we just got a voice mail. We called her back and havent heard a peep since then.We are giving her until tomorrow pm to get back with us and if we dont hear from her, we will be foregoing the niceties and proceeding directly past go to a lemon lawyer. In the midst of all this, other things have stopped working on the X5. The rear camera works occasionally, but it chooses when and where. The auto-telescoping steering wheel has stopped working. The transmission is still jerky. My opinion? Do not buy a BMW!

They are only profit oriented company and do not show any sympathy or care about their customers or general public. My brand new X7 was on fire last month without any indication on the dashboard. Me and my entire family (including 2 kids and 2 senior citizens) were in the car when the car started throwing smokes without any indication. I acted on time and stopped the car and we all left the car. While taking out my 4 years daughter from the car seat the car literally went on fire from the engine. It was freezing cold day with a single degree temperature and snowing and we all were standing outside until the fire dept arrived. We we all lucky that we survived without any physical injury but mental trauma was never less after that incident.I called BMW NA and filed a complaint to start an investigation as I also saw an article sent over by my friend from CNN where BMW is being sued in South Korea for the same engine fire issue. They acted so negligently that on the scheduled inspection day the public relation officer called me and told me that they didnt get an access of a car from insurance company as it was not communicated with them...Seriously? This shows how lightly they took the entire incident. In the end they wanted to offer me 2 month of lease payment and wanted me to buy or lease new BMW and sign a contingency not to disclose this information to NHSTA or any other places including social media. I declined their charity and chose to go out in public to educate them not to go for BMW brand. It is a known issue of BMW that their cars go on fire lot more frequently than any other manufacturers.DO NOT BUY BMW...THEY ARE VERY PATHETIC IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS PUBLIC SAFETY. SPREAD THESE WORDS OUT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS I CANT SUE THEM AS NY STATE LAW DOES NOT HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE NO PERSON WAS INJURED PHYSICALLY. IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT HOW BMW IS BEING SUED THEN GOOGLE HOW THEYRE BEING SUED IN SOUTH KOREA AND IT WILL SHOW UP...

I purchased a brand new 2006 525i. It has been my dream car, and I was excited to make this new purchase. I have kept regular service and maintenance on this vehicle, and keep it in the garage at all times when I am at home. I have another car that I drive to work during the week, so the BMW is mainly used as my weekend vehicle. About four years later, I noticed the paint starting to wear on the hood. Then about three or four months after that, the paint on the roof of the car started to fade, and lastly the paint on the trunk of the car, noticed fading. I took it to Tom Williams and spoke with the service manager and the regional manager, who was scheduled to be in town that day. They took my vehicle to one of the service men, and he stated that it looked like soap may have been left on the car and that it could be buffed out. From there, they informed me to take it to their Collision Center to have it buffed out. The servicemen at the Collision Center told me that they could not buff it out and that it was a defect in the clear coat that was originally put on the car. I was given an 800 number from the servicemen at BMW, and from there, they told me that my vehicle was out of warranty. I took it to a few other local body shops, and they informed me of the same thing; that it was the clear coat that was poorly applied. The local serviceman asked me if I had the car shipped, and I answered yes. I special ordered this vehicle and had it shipped here to the U.S. He informed me that he had other customers who had the same complaint and that it may have been the salt water that caused the paint fade. He informed me that it was a water-borne clear coat that was initially put on the car, and that it was a poor type of paint that is not designed to last for the amount of money that consumers pay for this type of vehicle. This is my dream car, and it is very disappointing to know that I invested this much money in a vehicle to have to drive around with fading paint. I have a Toyota that I have had and driven for 15 years now, and the paint is still intact, and it puzzles me that and after five years the paint on my BMW is worn.

I have owned my 1995 BMW 740i since I graduated High school and received it as a graduation gift. The car now has 145,000 miles on it and is still running. BUT along the way it has developed bad valves and valve guides, the transmission has started to shift hard sometimes and I believe it has developed a rod knock. Yes the car is exceptionally comfortable and all the electronics still work, and is very fun to drive for a 2.2 ton luxury sedan, but a $65,000 car should not have these kinds of issues at 145,000 miles. These cars are very complicated and do have problems as a result, but they should not be having MAJOR mechanical problems 3/4 of the way through their life. I also realize that if youre going to drop that kind of money on a car you should be able to afford the repairs, and luckily I can, but I shouldnt have to!! I just want a luxury car that isnt in the shop every week, my Mercedes was a COMPLETE piece of junk (and it was new) and my 3 year old Audis tanny went out at 56,000 miles. So its sad to say but honestly my BMW has been my most reliable, and thats not saying much.

I owned a 2000 BMW 323ci coupe that I purchased back in 2004. The car had only 13,000 miles on it and was optioned with every accessory available. I purchased the car from a private seller for $21,000 which I though was a steal since the car cost $43,000 new. The car looked flawless and drove as new; it still smelled new inside. I struck a deal and the BMW was mine. I felt as a BMW owner that was above most people now on the road and I changed my driving style to prove that I was now someone to be very envious of because I was to be respected driving a BMW. That claim to fame ended a few months later when the transmission failed on my BMW as I was shifting from reverse to drive. I couldnt believe it! How could this happen to a car with only 20,000 miles on it?!?! And a BMW for that matter. The cost to replace the transmission was $6,000!!!! That stung badly! In the coming years I also experienced very costly repairs ranging from HVAC issues, electrical problems, fuel issues, power steering failure, brake problems, a fractured subframe, cooling problems, Harman Kondom speakers rattling the interior when playing heavy bass music, broken and leaky sunroof, interior trim falling off, squeaks and rattles in seats and dashboard, popping steering wheel, cruise control failure, HID headlight burnout and I rarely drove in the dark, leaky trunk, power window motors failing, front turn signal housings getting wet inside and causing shorts. The cost of repairs on this hunk of junk amounted to over 15,000 dollars!!!!!!! All on a car with less than 100,000 miles! How horrible is that?! I had to sell my precious BMW for a mere $4,000 in 2009. What a piece of junk! Now I know why the original owner sold this crappy car and was driving a new Lexus sedan. I ended up buying a used 2006 Honda Civic Si that has been 100% trouble free and now has 183,000 miles on it. Im still reeling from my horrible BMW experience! I realize now that I was a pretentious fool thinking that driving a BMW was going to make me noticed and important on the road. Boy, was I wrong! DO NOT BUY A BMW!!!

So I leased a 2020 430 convertible in July 2019. A month later driving the car in 90° weather after two hours of driving the air-conditioning broke. Brought the car back to the dealership, they said the problem was fixed. A month later same situation. Brought it back, he said it was fixed. The following summer in 90° weather same situation after a few hours of driving air-conditioning stopped. Brought it to a different dealership, problem was fixed, it was not. Currently two weeks ago in June, driving back from the Jersey shore and 98° weather I stopped at a rest stop and left my daughter and my dog in the car. When I came back I found that the air conditioner had stopped, my daughter who has down syndrome, my dog suffered mild heatstroke. Contacted Bmw multiple times. They tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. And have yet to buy me out of my lease. So worst company ever, this car is a lemon. There’s nothing but problems with these BMWs. Do not purchase or lease then.

I purchased this 2008 pre-owned BMW in July and it is under the warranty. Only one month later, the engine light is on so I have to go for the maintenance. One month later, the right rear light is not working so i have to go to the dealer again. What really troubles me is that last weekend I am waiting for my friends in my car which only without the engine in 20-30 minutes, the battery is dead. When I called roadside assistance from BMW, this guy cannot even find where the battery is located and he tried to connect his equipment with something looks like battery besides the engine. When I pointed out to him that the battery may be located in the back, he used his equipment which is not fully charged to jumper my car. Of course, it did not work so he insisted that it is my battery problem and even told me to tow the car on the next Monday. And I called BMW again to ask for sending a professional roadside assistance to me, which should not be the previous one. They promised the new guy will come in two hours. It is already 10pm on Sat night. After two hours, it is close to 12am, the old guy called me again and said BMW send him again and he wont come anyway. I am so frustrated. I have to call my friend to pick me up and interestingly, my friend used his jumper and it worked. It should be much easier but BMW assistance just made things more and more complicated.

I just bought my 2007 BMW 325ci about a week ago. I bought it 250 miles away from where I live. I was assured that it had all been inspected by BMW in Tri-Cities, WA and that it was in perfect shape. By Archibald Motors in Tri-Cities, I bought and paid for the car and drove home. It did not seem right on my 250 mile trip, but I thought I was just getting used to a different vehicle. Oh no that was not it, the fuel pump was bad. I called the dealership and they said that they knew it was leaking when I bought it! This is a BMW. There are reasons we put our lives in their hands. I am so fortunate to make it home without an incident. They did tell me to contact BMW in Boise and they would pay for the repairs and they have all done a beautiful job. My point is is that it should have never happened in the first place. I am 67 and it was a gift to myself. BMW should be more up to speed with their dealerships.

For a luxury car, this is a piece of crap. We bought a 528i, and 2 years later the thing is nothing but problems. The heater does not blow hot air unless you max the thermostat out. The fan won’t blow air unless you max the fan speed out. The vents fall apart and are not covered under warranty or extended warranty. Took it to the dealer and they said it was all normal and accused us of user error breaking the vents. No one sits in the back seat, but yet the vent broke. Total BS. Will never buy another one of these crappy cars. I have a BMW X5 as well, also crappy piece of junk. They can’t even honor their warranty or roadside service commitments. Total waste of money. Hendrick BMW in Pleasanton California is the dealership that we used and they are substandard. Never been so ignored by any car dealership. Took all day to get an update on a car they had for 3 + days, only to get all the BS answers about why they could not do any of the repairs. Just BS about normal function and blamed us for their ** falling apart.

BMW offered me exceptionally POOR Support for their 1984-91 BMW 524td engine. BMW’s customer support was as though they had never built the engine or even heard of it. Finding parts became a worldwide internet search nightmare, as USA dealers were ZERO assistance. BMW routinely changes part numbers, but apparently leaves no follow-up reference to find the part one seeks. I ended up contacting BMWs CHAIRMAN Harald Kruger with a message that lifted him off his chair. The immediate result from Krugers office was that BMW had found the unobtainable and extinct parts I requested... But at DOUBLE their advertised price. The BMW 300 is great for everyday driving. I love driving its 6 speed manual transmission! Its super fun to drive around town as well as long distances. The hands free features are also well designed. But, even though its a German car, its awful in the snow. We were very surprised by the poor handling in snowy conditions. We would not purchase this model again because of the climate we live in. It does not handle slick roads or snow well at all. Taking this into consideration, we might look at a different model. We really only bought it for the manual transmission.

I keep getting a warning sign on my BMW 1 Series, which reads Drive train, continue to drive slowly. This has been happening at regular intervals and I have been taking it to the dealership called Club Motors Randburg, in which case they have not been able to fix it. The query is now at the hands of BMW SA and I am not getting any joy as I am disgruntled and pained by the way I have been treated by BMW. I have now requested for the dealership I bought the car from to take their car back and organize me another deal. The dealership is telling me that they can only trade in the car and I will have a shortfall of R100,000, which is extremely unfair from BMW as I got this problematic car in April 2012. Ever since I bought the car, it has been problems after problems. I regret the day I decided to buy a BMW ever in my life. That was the worst decision I have ever taken in my life. I have had the worst experience in my life. If this is the way BMW treats its customers, then they do not deserve the status they claim to give to their client - which is sheer driving pleasure. I am deeply disgusted and I feel ridiculed by BMW. While all I wanted was to have a great German machine, instead I found myself the biggest lifetime liability. My wish is for BMW to deliver the promise they give to the customers, which is a world class product and great customer experience. I would like BMW to contact me urgently as I am faced with a problem. The dealership is now forcing me to bring back the loan car that they have lent me as they feel that I must take my scrap car and it is not their problem, but mine.

My 2009 BMW 328xi had trouble starting one day. I brought it to my mechanic and he said everything looked fine. My car had been serviced by BMW until I bought the car in December 2014. So in Feb 2015 when I was driving my car on the NYS thruway, it shut down!!! The car shut down!!! Fuel Pump warning came on. I was fortunate I was able to steer the car off to the shoulder and called AAA. They towed it to my mechanic less than two miles (how lucky) and my mechanic replaced the fuel pump, even though he said, it looks fine. August 2015 (less than 6 months later) I was traveling in the Bronx going through a light when AGAIN car shut off. I was able to coast to a gas station. Lucky again. FUEL pump warning again. I called my mechanic and he said it seems like something more serious.I called corporate and they suggest to get my car to the Spring Valley NY BMW dealer where they say first, the pump was not a BMW pump (it was, my mechanic actually bought the part from the dealer!!). Then dealer said it was on backwards.. PLEASE!!! They had my car a week and I asked if they diagnosed the problem. They said no but they replaced fuel pump AND fuel tank. 3 weeks later I am driving on Route 17 South Middle lane, 60 miles an hour, traffic all around, and YES fuel pump light and car shuts down!!! I swerved and was able to get the car to safety. LUCKY 3 times!!! BMW has a serious problem with fuel pump. Today the car is at the dealer. I logged a formal complaint, a Liability complaint with BMW 3 weeks ago and again this week. This is a serious matter. This car is a DEATH trap!!! Today I received a call from Corporate stating that they will Not pursue this matter in any form!! Can you believe this?? BMW needs to accept responsibility on this. I was told by a lawyer that if I was hurt or was killed I would have a case. I will not wait until there is a fatality. We need to do something now. Please anyone with fuel pump issues, please contact me. I am relentless and will have BMW accept their responsibility.

I purchased a used 2005 BMW 525i almost two years ago and it had 52,000 miles on it. Thank goodness I decided to purchase an extended warranty through my lender because at 75,000 miles or so, my transmission started acting up. This vehicle has not been neglected and has been taken good care of. However, I had transmission fault messages on my computer, so I took it in. Turns out that my transmission needed to be replaced. After my $7,000 transmission was put in, I still had problems. They reprogrammed the vehicle to try and fix the problem, and Im still having problems. Its also really slow on take off and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd really hard. And when I slow down, it shifts really hard from 2nd to 1st. All in all, my warranty company has paid out over $10,000 in repairs over the past two years, almost half of what I paid for the vehicle. That is just ridiculous. Ive read so many peoples horror stories about their BMWs transmissions failing and I just wanted to share my story too. I know that BMW is not taking responsibility for any of their vehicles so I felt like I should share. The more people that come forward, the better. Maybe one day BMW will own up to producing some rotten transmissions in their vehicles. All I can say is thank goodness for warranties. But its not about that. Its about your car, your BMW that you love so much, being in service for a month, and having issue after issue. Its frustrating and BMW needs to to tighten up their products.

Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 750i on 2-14-2015 from Principal Auto Group in San Antonio Texas. This has been a terrible experience. The car had bent rims and would never ride smoothly... they wanted me to pay for a thrust balancing, then they would blame the tires but my independent tire shop confirmed the tires were okay. The first time I had a major problem the car was in the shop for 12 days because they do not have a enough bays. Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later? The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

I bought 2003 BMW X5 with 82,200 miles from a dealer in the U.S. in September 2011. That was my first time of owning a BMW. Actually, I was excited for buying such a prestigious car. Just after one month of owning the car, I have spent close to $2,000 in repairs related to the front suspension. A service advisor at the dealer, where I sent my car, told me that the engine had to be repaired because it was leaking and that would cost about $3,000. The steering wheel has to be repaired as well. I experienced jerking when the car was changing from the third gear just recently, and I took it to the same BMW dealer. They say that the transmission is bad and it has to be replaced. That will cost between $6,500 and $7,000. I cant just comprehend what is going on. I thought BMW was a durable and prestigious car but I am losing hope and confidence in the car. What can I do now? I am getting frustrated. Please help.

I am a big loyal long time fan of BMW (German Engineering).I was referred friends family to buy BMW cars based on my experience. Finally that came to an end. Little story - First time I took my 2008 BMW X5 (36K miles) on a vacation out of Colorado with my family (Wife and Little daughter). I drove from Boulder, CO to LA and was driving this big guy was fun. Stayed in LA couple weeks then I went to San Diego to see zoo and Sea World. On Saturday we went to zoo, came back and drive my BMW x5 to Los Angles Americas shopping center. Had good time shopping center and finished the dinner. Then got in to X5. Started the car. Something unusual. Heard some big fan noise and then opened bonnet and looked for noise. Fan was running like chopper blades. Thought it’s because of air-conditioning is running in full mode. Then drive the car for 1 mile and suddenly engine over heating symbol displayed on dashboard. Then I took my car in near gas station (it was midnight, 10:30 PM in new place) and stopped. Luckily internet was on my smart phone and searched the internet for this problem and found lots of postings. After reading these posts, I understand something went wrong in engine cooling system. I called my insurance guy to tow the car and drop at nearest BMW dealer. Tow guys showed up in 30 minutes and off loaded all the things out of my car and handed it tow guys. My hotel is quite far and I need a car to go to sea world next day .I took taxi to airport to rent a car. Around 2 AM reached hotel...I was trusting BMW than any other brand because all that I was feeling that BMW are made finest engineering company and will not break down at least within 60k miles. My perception was wrong. Today morning I got a call from dealer and said electronic water pump is broken. The repair cost would be 1300 USD.I searched internet and NHTSA for recalls. I found one recall 11V521000 about the same issue. BMW recalled 2008-1011. I called BMW Customer Care about the same thing. They took around 55 minutes to find the recall information. Finally they said your VIN is not under the list. My problem is same exact problem what they recalled for. The supervisor was very rude (Her name is CASEY **, Resolution Specialist, Customer Relation Department) at me and behaved like she is the only decision maker in BMW. I felt really very bad and regretting why I bought BMW. The colleague was next to me was able to hear all the conversation. He is worried now because he owns X5 and M3. What bad service from BMW.

After about one year, the battery drains all the time, have to replace the whole electric and battery system. A few weeks ago, just about 9 months out of the warranty, I drove it to Utah for a vacation. When I drove back home, it broke down in a city with transmission malfunction warning on the way. I have to tow it to the city BMW service for repair. After spent more than $1200, I still cannot drive it back home. It needs to replace the transmission, costs more than $11000. Left me with no other options, I have to sell it to the BMW dealer cheap and rent a car back home! This car only has 47000 miles, the transmission is gone!

Im owner of BMW X6 5,0 Xdrive (2009). I bought this car like a new one. This is my third BMW. After 63 000km BMW service-car repair-a new engine. Because the car big, oil losses. After this repair many times Engine Fault on my board computer BMW X6. After Engine Fault a complete loss of power. Very danger! Every time in BMW service they told me... Dont worry.. we will repair it. After BMW service -car repair - a new both turbo there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new injections there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new cylinders, but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair-a new injections again, but next ENGINE FAULT. BMW service-car repair-fuel pump, but next ENGINE FAULT... BMW service-car repair both catalysts and more other parts... but ENGINE FAULT.. is still again and again there! The inappropriate condition of the car (BMW X6 5,0 xi) has several times put not only the lives of my family and me at risk but threatened also the lives of other drivers on the road. All these extremely risky situations were caused by repeated errors in the engine when in use followed by a complete loss of power. Dont buy BMW, if you love your life and your family!

I purchased a BMW 323i on 19, January 2012, chassis no. **, customer order no. ** from Auto Bavaria at 3A Persiaran Kerjaya, Seksyen U1, Glenmarie, 40150, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. After using the car for about a month, with a mileage of 1,600 km, I observed a bulge on the tire (continental run flat). After sending and requesting for a change of tire on many occasions, my request was denied.BMW cited external factors for the tire bulge, thus declining my request for a new tire. My claim was that the car is still under warranty; BMW staff even agreed that this is a common problem with this kind of tire. If so, why supply such tires for my car? Even if there was an external factor (as claimed by BMW), it must have been minimal as there is no dent on the rim or the body. If the tire can’t withstand a small impact (if any), it must be a sub standard tire. Thus, I request for a new high quality tire for the car. Please advise, thank you.

I would have to say that I agree with all the other reviews regarding this horrific company. Please take our advice and buy a different type of car that will give you the respect and service that should come with a car that prides itself on Customer Service.

Self-adjusting strut replaced, after replacement the strut would not inflate; $900 part. Next, they stated it must be the modulation computer; replaced $900, still did not inflate. Next, they said it must be the pump, $900. Still did not work. This cost a towing fee of $200 also, the vehicle had been in their shop for the six weeks. They have now returned it to local authorized BMW repair center. The strut is deflated, causing all struts to deflate making the car undriveable without destroying all struts. Now after paying them, they tell me to drive the x5 back to them and they will take a look at it.I had to rent or borrow for seven weeks. I have paid them because they stated the x5 was repaired, but after paying them and going out to pick up my car, drove to city where I live and by the time I arrived, the struts were deflated. Now it sits having to be towed again to Little Rock BMW for $200.

Im leasing a 2017 230i xDrive Convertible. In one year and 12K miles, Ive already had to replace 3 run flat tires at a cost of $400-$500. Now I know why I was offered insurance at the time of my lease, which I didnt take. Ive never needed it before. No one explained the issues with these tires. Now I find myself either having to make a one time payment of $1,300 for the insurance for the remainder of my lease; put regular tires on the car but run the risk of damaging the transfer case ($4-5K repair) or continuing replacing tires every time I hit a pothole. This is my Ultimate Driving Experience; NOT!!! Horrific experience; never again; a total disappointment.

I have had my X5 for over 2 years now, I bought it brand new from passport BMW in MD. I have had issues for about 2 years now with the camera. At one time it just would be blurry then it went dark. I took it to the dealer, they said they had replaced it but no sooner it started acting up again, sometime when I would have the car in drive it would attempt to come on. (I was told when I called that it was the hot weather that was affecting the camera operation). I called BMW corporate, someone called back a couple of times but was never able to get the dealership to resolve this issues as he had promised. I am so disappointed in this car vis a vis the monthly car payment I keep making.

I went to my dealer Motorwerks of Barrington, IL and the service person/and manager looked at it and said it’s a normal wear & tear, however since I was not satisfied with the answer, so I called BMW of North America Customer service and Rep told me that it can be fixed and is included and is part of my Warranty. And so she conference the line with service manager who instead of servicing this issue accused me that I abused my car with an Acid pour?? Seriously ?? You are talking about selling a 43k worth of piece of ** AND THEN BLAME IT ON TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?? They are not only unprofessional but THUGS who SHY away from their Jobs!!!! However it is so much of shame that such a Reputable Brand like BMW is having these issues and problem with their expensive piece of Junks!!! And are unable to fix em! Good Morning my name is Mark ** and my wife name is Veronica **. We use to be proud owners of our 2010 BMW 528xi up until now. We purchased it on March 23, 2013 at Bolden Ltd dealer in Greenville NC. Weve owned 3 BMWs in the past and this will be the 4th and we were thinking about purchasing another one until our recent experience with our 2010 BMW 528xi. When we bought it all the services was up to date and it was still under warranty. It only had 33,761 miles on it. We took it in for service at BMW dealer at 36,000 miles for its 2nd oil change and all services was fine and the vehicle was up to date on its maintenance. There were no leaks and it drove great! Several months later we came back to BMW dealer in Kinston, NC for the 3rd oil change just before 50,000 warranty. We were recommended by BMW service technician to get everything that could be done under warranty because our 50,000 mile warranty was about to expire, so we agreed and let them do what was recommended. So they changed the oil and the fluids that were needed at that time, they replaced the wiper blades, and they replaced a oil cooler gasket and a oil filter housing gasket and gave me a 2 year warranty. We left feeling confident that everything should be fine with the vehicle for a while. Grant it we had no leaks prior to that service. Several months later about 15,000 miles we got our 4th oil change and several months after that we got our 5th oil change and everything was fine and there were no leaks. In August about the 18th we called BMW and Scheduled an appointment about a noise we were hearing at low speed from our ac vent inside the vehicle. They told us to come in on Saturday 8/22/15 @ 8:00 am. Upon arriving we were taken in by Trish at Sale BMW in Kinston, NC and she came out to listen to the noise we were hearing but of course the car wouldnt make the noise so I told her to lift the hood and turn the AC on to see if the noise could be heard but upon looking under the hood we noticed a lot of oil under the hood so she recommended that we get it checked out while we were there, so we agreed! About 2 hours later we had to ask them what was going on and what did they find. Trish then took me in the shop so the shop Foreman could show me what he found. He told me that the Oil Cooler was leaking, the oil filter housing was leaking, the valve cover was leaking, and the oil pan was leaking. The quote they gave me was well over 2,000 dollars for everything. I was shocked mainly because they never looked in my history before to see that they had replaced the oil filter housing and the oil cooler gasket less than 2 years ago and grant it, it wasnt leaking when they replaced it under warranty. So, that rubbed me the wrong way and secondly Ive owned BMWs before that had no leaks like this one. Well upon me notifying Trish to check my service history she found out that the Oil filter housing and cooler gasket was still under warranty. So they fixed it while we were there for free. We were satisfied with them fixing it for free but if I didnt inform them that it had already been done then we believe we would have paid for it again. The vehicle has 84,000 miles on it and it has oil leaks already. We are unhappy with these oil leaks after 5 oil changes. Our previous BMWs were not leaking oil. Please call us about this matter. Mark ** or Veronica **. We look forward to your response to this matter.

Purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2009 with 20K miles on it, purchased as a BMW Certified with the full 100K (or 6 year) warranty. At some point around 40K miles, I noticed the anti-freeze overflow tank had oil mixed in it. I took it to BMW and was given a tongue lashing for allowing Valvoline to change my oil. Not only did they state Valvoline put oil in the anti-freeze reservoir, they gave me a letter and advised me to take legal action. Instead, I opted to pay BMW $1200 to total flush the entire system of oil. A few months later the water pump went out (under warranty) and I was advised once again I had oil in my anti-freeze. Once again I was fooled by the BMW liars as they told me it was probably just left over from the previous incident. Finally while I was driving one day the engine started to run hot, being that I work literally 2 blocks from BMW I drove the car over to be checked out. By this time the car had run out of its BMW warranty, and lo and behold they said I had oil in the anti-freeze and that I would now need to pay them $4K to replace the head as the thought it was cracked. Now they couldnt really tell me that would fix the car and the only other option they gave me was to replace the engine $6K.I have all of the paper trails, I called BMW USA, I tried to get the people at Swope BMW Louisville to work with me but they would not. At the end of the day, nobody could ever tell me how I was getting oil in the antifreeze....a cracked head and/or blown head gasket would result in antifreeze in the oil, what I had was exactly opposite. Rolling the dice, I took the car to a very reputable shop in Louisville and paid the $2500 to replace the head gasket...a repair which did not work.I have owned 2 new BMWs. I will never, ever, ever even look at another one of these cars. The dealers are under a huge amount of duress and will not do whats right for the consumer. My warranty was worth nothing as they (BMW) milked it out until my car was no longer covered before telling me the engine was shot. Since then I have leased a 2013 Mazda CX5 AWD GT for my wife, and purchased a 2013 Honda Civic Ex for my son. I have plenty of money to spend, and will never spend another dime on these pieces of human excrement who represent BMW.

I family had two BMW vehicles and from my personal experience I absolutely do not recommend. There are many parts that fail within the first five years costing thousands. Be very careful, and simply test drive other vehicles before settling. You will regret it once you find yourself in the dealership service department over and over. Corporate customer service will make it even worse. I called a few times for assistance because I felt I have a defective vehicle. They are arrogant, rude, and will not help you. BMW X1 is a wonderful auto. But lease is expensive and living in NYC means that use is limited. This is because of traffic congestion, crazy bike riders and poor driving habits of many motorists. Insurance cost is also too high as is parking. So not economically feasible for such a high priced vehicle. But I love it. Next time may buy Subaru or use on demand car rental services by BMW/Mercedes if they develop here in NYC.

I explained to Ms Jodi ** that my experiences with BMW technicians that either rigged or did not properly repaired my vehicle. After not being satisfied with case managers decision, I requested to speak to the department manager, and it was denied. Ms. Jodi ** just simply told me that she was fully capable of making a decision and would not forward me/my contact information to the upper management because they are there for administrative purposes only! Now, being a member of an administrative e system myself, Im sure that Ms. **s supervisor is not aware of her management style/behavior.I have a BMW X5(4.4) that windows frequently fail/collapse since its purchase, without warning. But, I promise you and vow, that I will convince even more why not to purchase a BMW. I am very disappointed on how BMW treat their customers, especially, Ms. Jodi **. The 2001 BMW R1150 GS is a fabulous motorcycle. A beast of a motorcycle. Well engineered and tough it will take you where miles are afraid to tred! The R1150 GS has power to spare. Surprising lower and performance. My last motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. I was impressed with the power of that Harley but this 1150 BMW puts it to shame. The BMW is smooth yet robust. The 6-speed gearing has a wide range. I especially like third gear! A handful of throttle feels like you are blasting off to the moon! At age 67 I only rode my BMW mildly off road on my own farm and then only over improved dry pastures! Mine has just over 31,450 miles at the time of this review! My bike was fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere when I purchased it second hand. The tires were just 1 year old with just 1,000 miles on them. I am 67 years old and recently purchased this BMW motorcycle in September 2021, however it is too tall for me to ride comfortably and safely. I have a 30" inseam but riders need longer legs to safely handle this motorcycle. I thought about lowering the suspension but these GS BMW's are too nice to alter. So I purchased a second BMW R1200C Pheonix last week which suits my stride much better. I do not need two BMW motorcycles so I am reluncticly parting with my GS. This is what Cycle World Magazine had to say about the BMW R1150 GS: BMW R1150GS - BEST USED BIKES Exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. Cycle World July 22, 2015 YEARS SOLD: 2000–2004 MSRPNEW: $14,190 ('00) to $14,500 ('04) BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $4,885 ('00) to $6,500 ('04)BASIC SPECS: The R1150GS is powered by an 1,130cc air-/oil-cooled, four-stroke opposed twin featuring four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and shaft drive. The 1150 introduced a six-speed gearbox, while later models came equipped with dual spark plug heads and servo-assisted combined ABS brakes. The GS weighs 582 pounds WET with its 5.5-gallon fuel tank topped up and produced 74 hp and 68 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheel on the Cycle World dyno. The "Showa" suspension offers 7.9 inches of rough road-smoothing travel, while the adjustable saddle height (33.1 to 33.8 inches) accommodates a range of riders. WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Few bikes have proven to be as versatile as the GS BMW Beemer family, with the 1150 exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. It's a road-hardened touring mount and heavyweight dual-sport all wrapped in one. "I went places and saw things on the GS that I never would have on another bike," Mark Hoyer remarked back in the days before he was editor-in-chief. "It truly makes molehills out of mountains." All that, plus the reputation of durability and reliability rivaling that of an anvil easily warrant the price of purchase. THE COMPETITION: Long-travel twins gained prominence in the early 2000s with the introduction of the KTM 950 Adventure and 1,000cc Ducati Multistrada. Undoubtedly, this trend was helped along by the BMW R1150GS, which was honored as the Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2000 by Cycle World in our Ten Best issue.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i and experienced the same issue that is being recalled on the 2010- 012 models. I now own a CPO 2011 335i and the starting my car sounds as if the car hasnt been cranked in 2 months. While in park the engine is super loud and revs for no apparent reason. The dealerships are nothing but vacuums for money. After having a tire replaced for the 2008 at one dealership, the water pump failed less than 5 feet of the service garage door; but I was told this was normal and could happened. Please note that the car never had any warning signs of overheating or loss of a/c power or anything. This was $1200 to fix. The service manager was smug and uninterested in my concerns. His only offer was to allow me to leave my car on their premises and charge me a fair rate for renting a car. On the same 2008 model, I was driving on the expressway and out of the blue my car loses engine power and goes into safe mode. This was $800 to fix. I contacted BMW customer care and the rep couldve cared less, telling me I was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. If this automaker cared anything for their customers they would deliver superior products and superior customer service. Unfortunately, this automaker fall short on both.

Ive always wanted a BMW. When I chose this car I was not looking to buy a car but I fell in love with the look of this car. Then I took it for a test drive and found that it was such a fun car to drive. I was hooked and it drove like a dream. Its very fast and handles very well. Its also beautiful and comfortable. I loved the color combination with the black exterior and gray interior. It has many airbags and its a very safe car to drive. I also love that it has a GPS in the dash. And I like that I can switch from comfort mode to fast with a touch of a button. I like the backup camera as it comes in very handy too. But I wish I had paid more attention to the back seat as it is very tight. Although, it is comfortable if youre very short. Other than that, I would recommend this car to family and friends. I was driving my 2013 BMW 328xi with family in Toronto in busy traffic on Nov 1, 2014 & suddenly the cars engine stops and all power features stop working. I managed to glide the car to the curve amidst busy traffic switching lanes with my hazard on and barely averting a collision. The dashboard monitor stated something about the start/stop ignition. I attempted to start the car and it would turn briefly but would not start. After several attempts I called BMW roadside assistance. After being left on hold sometime, I was advised a tow truck would arrive at 5:50 pm, it was 4:30 pm. I advised them the car was not safe as the busy road was full of fast moving traffic on Mount Pleasant North of Moore. The individual at the call center claimed he could not do anything. I called my older son to pick up my wife & son with hockey gear and shopping.Exactly at around 5:50 pm a flat bed tow truck arrived with we buy scrap cars inscribed on the truck (not kidding). The tow truck driver attempted to start the car and mentioned he was unable to put the car in neutral. He asked it could damage the car if he pulled it onto the truck. I again called BMW roadside assistance and the individual (now supervisor) asked I sign a waiver to take responsibility for any damage caused by their towing. I refused and the man was argumentative. The Tow truck driver suggested another tow truck with rollers and stated he would not take responsibility without a waiver. Another hour passed before the next tow truck arrived. It was a cold evening in Toronto and I asked BMW roadside assistance if they could shuttle me home after the car was towed. I was told I need to go with the tow truck. Upon arriving at the dealership it was closed and the security mentioned there was nowhere for me to wait. (No news yet from roadside assistance.) By this time I had chatted prior with BMW roadside assistance individuals in Chicago, Toronto, Florida and Winnipeg (they kept transferring me). The Winnipeg girl finally called a taxi while I waited for another hour in the cold (I could have called a taxi or got a ride myself if they had not insisted I stay with the car earlier). I had to pay for the taxi anyhow and was provided a budget of $100 after I asked. The Winnipeg girl stated they may reimburse me and she would email info. (The email arrived two days later with completely different information.) No courtesy car. I must say the roadside assistance (call center) experience was poor. I had to call several times and often they would place me on hold or they just hung up after 20-30 min on hold. They kept sending electronic voice messages asking if things had been taken care, while I was telling them they had not. A couple of women were good but did not have answers and they even gave the wrong information about rental cars claiming none were available in the entire City of Toronto. To end my evening, the taxi driver turned out to be a racist maniac from Beck Taxi. I told him to stop at Yonge and Lawrence, I paid him (he insisted on cash as his machine was in the trunk). I ran over to Starbucks and waited for a ride home back to Bathurst and Eglinton. What a nightmare! The dealer was excellent and they fixed the problem in two business days. However the same new car also had a brake problem a couple of months prior and cost $1,200 for new brakes (the downtown Toronto dealer claimed it was not covered under warranty at 30,000 km). The car had speedometer problem and showed service was overdue (at minus -7000 km), the car had been serviced a couple of months prior. Luckily this one is a leased car, however after driving BMWs for the past 10-12 years I am concerned the new 3 Series appear to have problems. I hope they take note and sort out the problems.

Poor BMW service at Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC - When I purchased my pre-owned, certified 2006 325i, I also purchased the extended warranty which ran through to Oct. 31, 2012. Fifteen days after my warranty expired, apparently the bushing on a thrust arm (I am told) popped and was leaking some kind of viscous fluid. I was told it would cost $690.13 to repair which included realigning my car. I had, less than a month ago, purchased four new tires and a realignment to the tune of $1,200. When I complained about this happening 15 days after my warranty expired (and my car only has about 50,000 miles on it) and having just paid for a realignment, I was told they would knock off the $150 realignment and a $50 co-pay. So now I am still having to pay almost $500 for this problem. What a ripoff.I also tried to get my oil and filter changed before my service contract expired, but was not accommodated. I was told by the service rep to see him next time I brought in my car and have asked for this service while my car has been in their shop for almost a week now. Dont know if they will do this for me as they are very unaccommodating. I am still upset about their inability to accommodate me.

Without warning, my 2007 BMW 328Xi engine shut off and stopped in the middle of a busy road. I was told by a BMW service rep that my fuel tank draw tube fell off causing loss of fuel to the engine. I learned online that this is happening to other 2007 era BMWs and the reason is that the fuel draw tube is corroded by the fuel it is drawing and weakens and falls off. The fix is a new fuel tank, pump and draw tube for excess of $2,000.When contacted by my service rep, BMW gave a token $500 toward my repair leaving me with a $1,900 repair bill. Had this failure occurred on a busy Seattle freeway, my life would have been in grave danger as would have others around me - there would have been an accident with no way to avoid it. BMW is aware of their product failure and my question is who has to die before BMW steps up to the plate and accepts responsibility and recalls and repairs these vehicles? If you own a 5-7 year old BMW (maybe newer), its going to happen to you and I would appreciate your raising your voice to BMW before someone has to die to get BMWs attention.

I purchased a 2011 BMW 550i xDrive from International Autos Group. I must say I love the car and am very happy with the purchase. The issue I have is with BMWs failure to honor the contract that was signed. The contract states the CPO warranty with a deductible of Not Applicable, yet BMW is charging $50 for every service. It took weeks for BMW North America to render a decision, and I think they knew it was the wrong decision, but nevertheless they told me to pound salt. The rep was very rude during our last call. It is my understanding that International Autos Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ultimately denied the request to honor the contract. I caution against working with this dealership. Have had much better BMW dealership experiences elsewhere.

I purchased a brand new special order 2011 BMW 128i. I love the car and treat it like a baby. It has only 13,000 mile but required new rear tires. Very expensive items and with traction control and safe driving why did it need new tires. I hate the run-flat tires. They are hard as rocks and negatively affect the driving dynamics of the vehicle. The vehicle has no spare or temporary spare. To balance the vehicle, the battery has been placed in the trunk. It would have been wiser to utilize regular tires and provide a temporary spare in the trunk. My battery is now starting to fail. Of course that happened two months after the 4 yr maintenance expired. I just discovered that a new battery costs over $600 because the vehicles computer has to be reprogrammed for the specific battery. Only BMW and a few authorized service centers can perform a battery replacement. So, a $200 battery costs an extra $400 for installation. That is just plain crazy. Hate the tires now, hate the cost of normal maintenance.

My wife and I have 2 vehicles. A 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander with 130k miles
My wife and I have 2 vehicles. A 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander with 130k miles and a 2007 Ford Edge with 128k miles. We decided to buy a certified pre-owned 2010 BMW X5 with 64k miles on it in March of 2016. Over the last 9 months, we have only put 6k miles on this vehicle and it has been serviced numerous times. We bought an Elite Plus, 2 year warranty. When we do drive this car, we baby it. This past week, we backed it out of the garage and instantly heard the engine fan going at max speed. About a mile later, warning messages came on to drive the car moderately and then to pull over and turn it off. Said the engine temperature was too high. We had it towed into BMW and after reading BMW forums, the exact same problem had happened to many X5 owners. The fix was nearly all the same: Failed electric water pump requiring replacement along with thermostat. Most people had their vehicles fixed for $1400 or less. Local BMW dealer said we not only need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but also coolant hoses, need a coolant flush and the reservoir replaced. $3500 in cost. My warranty is only good for $800 contribution to this problem. I was amazed at the vast number of BMW owners reporting on this problem at 60-70k miles for the exact same issue. One would think there would be a recall on this, but no. I bought a BMW for the Ultimate Driving Machine experience and had heard of its reputation as a reliable vehicle. 2016 has been a disaster for this vehicle and I am not only disenchanted with the need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but I also feel like the BMW dealer is trying to bilk me by replacing coolant hoses and the reservoir when I dont even have a leak problem.

Reliable, fast, safe and well built. I had an old BMW that just kept on run
Reliable, fast, safe and well built. I had an old BMW that just kept on running even when it needed repairs. It kept going and got me to where I needed to be. This 20 year old car looked no more older than most 10 year old cars and with over 250,000 miles on it. Ran and started up better than many newer vehicles of lesser years and miles; that is until admittedly my dog and I caused interior damage that aged the vehicles appearance. That 1996 BMW 740il was still running and reliably starting every day right up until when I sold it to someone who was willing to fix it up a bit and run it some more. I have spoken to many people that state, BMWs are known to last beyond the 300,000 miles that few other cars make it to.

I purchased a used 328i from BMW of Columbia in Columbia SC. The first year I took it back for so many reasons. It was unbelievable. Yet it was suppose to be certified pre-owned. I have fibromyalgia and it was very frustrating for me. I lost all confidence in the car. I have depression, anxiety, and the car when bought only had 24,000 miles. The problems I had was not call for with a BMW.

I have a 2011 BMW 328XI that I have had a couple of problems with. All but one was covered under warranty. The last service I had, they noticed my valve cover leaking oil. My car has 56k miles on it, this should not be happening. I called BMW customer service, and was told it was normal maintenance. I was quoted $705 to fix this problem. NOT HAPPY!!!! This is my first and last BMW!!! Also, at 51k miles (1k out of warranty), my rear brake rotors needed replacement. I was told, sorry, its out of warranty. Thanks for NOTHING BMW!!!!
