2026 Acura RDX
Find big savings on Acura Automobile(s) at Auto Helpers. Low Prices.
The 2026 Acura RDX continues Acura’s approach of blending athletic driving dynamics with everyday luxury and practicality. Positioned below the MDX and above entry-level crossovers, the RDX targets buyers who want a compact luxury SUV that feels engaging behind the wheel without sacrificing comfort, technology, or utility. Rather than focusing purely on plushness, the RDX emphasizes steering response, chassis balance, and a driver-centric experience.
Powertrain & Performance
The 2026 RDX is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers strong output for its class.
The engine produces around 270 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
A 10-speed automatic transmission provides crisp shifts and responsive acceleration.
Front-wheel drive is standard, with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive available on most trims.
Acceleration is brisk for a compact luxury SUV, with the turbocharged engine offering quick throttle response and confident passing power. The transmission is tuned to keep the engine in its optimal power band without feeling overly aggressive in everyday driving.
Driving Experience & Handling
The RDX stands out in the segment for its handling characteristics.
Steering: Quick, precise steering gives the RDX a more connected feel than many competitors.
Chassis: A rigid body structure enhances stability and control, especially during cornering.
Suspension: Tuned to balance ride comfort with athletic handling, absorbing bumps without excessive body roll.
All-Wheel Drive: Acura’s torque-vectoring system actively distributes power to improve grip and cornering performance.
Unlike many compact luxury SUVs that prioritize isolation, the RDX appeals to drivers who enjoy a more involved driving experience.
Interior & Comfort
Inside, the 2026 RDX offers a blend of premium materials and modern design.
Seating: Comfortable front seats with supportive bolstering and ample headroom and legroom for rear passengers.
Materials: Soft-touch surfaces, quality upholstery, and tasteful trim elements contribute to a refined cabin.
Cargo Space: Competitive cargo capacity for the class, with a wide opening and fold-flat rear seats for added versatility.
Noise Isolation: Improved insulation helps reduce road and wind noise while maintaining a sporty feel.
Higher trims add features such as ventilated seats, upgraded leather, ambient lighting, and premium audio systems.
Technology & Infotainment
The 2026 RDX is equipped with a modern technology suite designed to enhance daily usability.
A large central display controlled by Acura’s infotainment interface.
Digital driver instrumentation with customizable layouts.
Wireless smartphone integration and multiple USB charging points.
Available head-up display and advanced audio options on higher trims.
While the infotainment system emphasizes precision and driver focus, some users may need time to adjust depending on prior experience with touch-only systems.
Safety & Driver Assistance
Safety remains a core focus for the RDX.
Standard and available features typically include:
Adaptive cruise control.
Lane-keeping assist.
Automatic emergency braking.
Blind-spot monitoring.
Rear cross-traffic alert.
Parking sensors and camera systems on higher trims.
These systems are designed to operate smoothly in the background, supporting the driver without feeling intrusive.
Strengths of the 2026 Acura RDX
Strong turbocharged engine with responsive acceleration.
Engaging handling and precise steering.
Available torque-vectoring all-wheel drive.
Spacious interior for a compact luxury SUV.
High build quality and durable materials.
Balanced ride that remains comfortable for daily use.
Trade-offs & Considerations
Infotainment interface may require an adjustment period.
Fuel economy is competitive but not the best in the segment.
Ride quality leans sportier than some luxury rivals.
No hybrid or plug-in hybrid option for buyers seeking electrification.
Who the 2026 Acura RDX Is Best For
The 2026 RDX is ideal for buyers who:
Want a compact luxury SUV that feels sporty and responsive.
Value performance-oriented driving dynamics over ultra-soft ride tuning.
Need a practical vehicle for commuting, errands, and weekend trips.
Appreciate Acura’s reputation for reliability and engineering.
Prefer a luxury SUV that delivers engagement without sacrificing comfort.
Bottom Line
The 2026 Acura RDX continues to be one of the most driver-focused compact luxury SUVs available. With its turbocharged performance, confident handling, and practical interior, it offers a compelling alternative to softer, comfort-first competitors. For buyers who want their SUV to feel responsive, capable, and engaging — without stepping up to a larger vehicle — the RDX remains a strong and well-rounded choice.

Buy Acura Automobile 2026 Acura RDX
Bought a 2018 Acura TLX Aspec, and in 2 years the engine gave out at 40,000 kms. They had to replace the cylinder blocks. After replacing the cylinder blocks, then a day after electronics gave out. My car started shaking and lost steering wheel control. Almost caused me to hit someone. Called Acura that I dont feel safe driving this car. They basically said, We cant do anything. If anything happens just keep bringing it back. Girl was polite but of no help. Now I have to drive that car feeling nervous everyday that something could happen to me or others. Never buying Acura again.
I was very impressed initially with the car, it truly lives up to its reputation. I have been driving Acura for many years as my father did when he was alive. However, when it comes to customer care, I can tell you that the dealership fell very short. I had to replace the windshield due to a crack. Once the windshield was replaced, it then needed to be re-calibrated. When I contacted Center Acura, they told me that they were very familiar with this issue - no problem. It would take about 1.5 hours to do the job. Come very early in the am. So I did, to discover they could not calibrate the windshield because it needed a specialized silicone film first. They said, We will order this and call you next week, but should take a couple of days to get. They never called - two weeks later, I called and they said, We forgot to call you. I couldnt believe this since Acura is totally customer oriented.I rescheduled for this past Monday am - when I brought in my car, the service representative said, I will need to do extensive research on this. I replied, This is unacceptable. I had to leave because I was taking time off work. Several service department employees sent me emails and text messages asking me if I was satisfied with the service I received??? I promptly replied to all of them via email, text and phone calls. No one replied!!!I then ended up calling client relations. My case was assigned to a rep who I just spoke to. She listened but did not grasp the issue - the main issue is the lack of response to the customer. She perseverated about getting someone to do the work. I re-explained my position again, she ignored me and said this might be a good training issue for the dealership. In the meantime, I, along with my insurance company who offered to pay for this are attempting to locate a vendor who can do the job.
I purchased a 2008 Acura TL new. The car was well maintained and garage stored. Within several years the perforated leather seats began to split. I had to have them replaced. The car was in great condition otherwise so I spent the money to replace them. A couple years later I noticed a crack on the right side of the dash. The crack grew and has expanded to multiple cracks. I have never experienced this with a car and would certainly not expect it from a brand known for quality and luxury yet when I did an internet search I discovered that it is a common problem with the Acura. Buyer beware.
The car has great mileage and its size is not too big or little. Anyone can fit inside the car. It also has a good window tint. The seats are comfortable and made of good material. The car parts are not too expensive if needs to buy for it. Plus the gas is not expensive, and only $35 will fill up the tank.
2007 mdx - I have 2 acuras and love both but will never buy another. Transmission error light came on at 90500 miles. So i brought it to Oxmore Acura in Louisville. They did a test and showed me a report that the PCM failed and stated it had to be replaced because the car could stop running. I paid the $900 and they replaced it. After it is replaced they tell me i need to replace the 3rd gear pressure switch. I said I thought the problem was the PCM since the reason I came in was I wanted the transmission issue corrected. Turns out the FAIL wasnt because of any transmission problem but a recommend change because the car was 7 years old. I feel like that was a fraud. Will never step in a Acura dealership again.
The Acura TSX leather looks worn out and years older than it is. We have a Lexus (2006) and its leather looks far superior. I expected Honda/Acura to do more. The dealers were useless. I went or called every single dealership in the DFW, TX metro and got the common response that its not a warranty issue.
Acura has pretty attractive and sporty models that run pretty well and not too costly. They have sleek bodies and good performance. Overall I am happy with the look and appearance of the vehicle. Upgrades are standard like other brands. The car can be nice to drive with no upgrades but if fully stocked it is a sweet ride. It has a roomy interior and overall comfy compared to other cars and other car brands, not the largest space but definitely enough for a person. Have not had any bad experiences with them. Definitely may recommend for friends shopping for a car.
I have 2013 Acura MDX. It was good and smooth when the mileage was about 40000-50000 but after the mileage went higher the transmission got problem, it will shake every time I tried to be from 45-50 mile per hour.
Very luxurious ride without the highest costs. Has all the “bells and whistles“ you’d like in a luxury vehicle. Only downside is the cost to upgrade to a tech package that includes built in navigation pkg as opposed to CarPlay where you have to have a good cellphone service.
2011 Acura tsx. Worst riding car Ive ever had. First and last Honda Ive ever/will ever own. Interior rattles everywhere from the time it was new. Cheap thin paint on front of car - looks like its been sandblasted. Im easy on my cars. This was a daily driver with mostly Highway miles. Transmission went out at only 75k. Never had trans problems with any car Ive ever owned. From what I hear, this is typical. Honda transmissions are some of the worst made. GM and Toyota are best. Oh well, you live and learn. Hope this review helps someone NOT buy an Acura or Honda.
The car is beautiful and that is my biggest attraction to it. I have the one with everything on it so its very comfortable. My only issues are 1.) Its a little bit rough to drive, you feel every little bump on the road. 2.) Acura doesnt do anything special for the owners, prior to this I had 2 Lexus and when you go to the dealership to get your car serviced you are treated like VIP. You can wait for the car in a lounge where you can have in the morning free bagels, toast or danishes along with regular or specialty coffee, if its lunch time free water, juice or soda. They have nice comfortable leather chairs, desktop computers, iPads and large screen TVs. In addition to this if its going to be longer than a couple of hours they just give you a beautiful loaner. Anything you want so you can try out all their different models.
I bought a 2016 MDX at Apr 2015. The car has usual new car smell. At the beginning, I thought I will disappear soon. I am wrong. I cant stay in the car without the window open for about two years. But unfortunately after two years, the smell of new car just reduced a little bit and the leather seat still gives off strong chemical odor. I can confirm because if I smell closely to the leather its just too strong. I have owned multiple cars with leather seats before. This is the first time I hit the issue. Its not typical genuine leather smell. Its unpleasant chemical smell.
I love the car that I have because it is fast, quality, and fun. It has a good radio, a good size trunk, and has a lot of space in the car so that you are comfortable and dont feel squished, and that was another big factor in choosing this car. The AC and heater also works really well. They didnt have a lot of upgrade options but I think that I got a good value for the car. The price is a big reason that I choose this car.
Bought a pre-owned certified 2011 rdx. Well first off was told it was awd it was not. Brake warning light was on, all tires were way off the psi. It should of been after the 120 point check they must of not done. 3 months later headlight had tons of water in it. After complaining to Acura relations was told they would help out of good will but after I was ready to replace the headlight was told they wont because you bought the headlight light from a 3rd party but it was oem. I have owned 3 Acuras this is my last. Stay away from buying Acura. They are not the company they use to be.
We purchased a new Bellanova White 2015 Acura TLX in June. We noticed that there were runs and pits or dimples in the paint in several areas of the car. After contacting the dealer, they took the car in to repair the paint run. The service manager took pictures and sent them to the Regional Rep who approved repainting the runs, but since a camera could not pick up the pits, the Rep said that he would have to personally inspect the vehicle. The service manager told us that his staff would inspect the entire vehicle and he sent it out to have the runs and pits repainted. After having our car for about 2 months, the pits in the paint are still not fixed by the dealer. The regional rep, who was scheduled to personally inspect our car on Oct 20, 2015 cancelled the viewing and to our knowledge has never seen the vehicle. We have contacted the Acura corporate office and they notified us that Acura will not take any responsibility for the pitting/dimples in the paint and they dont consider it a defect. BUYER BEWARE!!! Our only option at this time is to report this matter to the State Attorney General and apply for a solution through the states Lemon Law. My wife and I have owned 8 Hondas/Acuras since the 80s including 1 new RSX and 3 new TLs/TLX. This is the most disappointing new car, or used car purchase either of us have ever experienced. As I said earlier, BUYER BEWARE!
We purchased a beautiful 2020 Acura MDX ASPEC back in Oct of 2020. We did not negotiate pricing as we believed it was at the right price point based on the competitors. Unfortunately, the windshield has a wave on the passenger side which I have never seen on a windshield. The dealership was very good and replaced the original one that came with the vehicle and it was worse then the original one. The dealership ordered another replacement one and called me in to review it before they would book it in for replacement and again this one was worse then the original one and the one they replaced. I was working with Honda / Acura of Canada Client relations and their Customer Mediation Specialist told me that they Acura Canada would not be replacing the windshield our 2020 Acura MDX as the concern in not consistent with a defect in Manufacturing.
I own a 2015 Acura RDX AWD with technology package. It features a fine six cylinder engine with six speed automatic transmission. It has been totally reliable, and dealership has been responsive to my needs.
I got RDX 2018 model. I mainly tells what this lacks compare to other non-suv models. I expected decent options when I say word Acura or luxurious model. Rear passenger leg room is so small, my old Toyota Camry got much larger leg space. Acura provided two 12 v chargers. Guess what, they are cigarette lighting chargers. If any passenger want to charge their phone, they need to buy compatible charger. What a life! No power windows for passengers. No telescopic steering wheel, means no adjustments. Now, good things about this one, smooth transmission ride, power steering control, vehicle stability, and its sleek look and design suggestion, compare option from similar vehicle class and buy!
Acura RDX - comfortable cushy drive; somewhat slow acceleration; blindspot on passenger side more noticeable than previous owned vehicle. Window design needs to be improved. Averages 21-22 mpg city driving, 26-27 mpg highway.
The transmission broke on my Acura TLX and the cost of replacement is $8400! This car has a long history of transmissions problems and recalls. The dealer so called fixed the issue of the transmission with very minimal work under warranty then 10000 miles later, new problems came up after warranty expired and now the dealer is saying it needs complete replacement. Now I am stuck with a $8400 bill. I will never buy any Acura car again. Acura does not stand by their product or do the right thing by the customer! The top people making decisions at this organization are ruthless and have no loyalty to their customers.
Acura offers vehicles for whatever your reason and needs. They offer the TL models, TSX, ILX, sedan. SUVs include the RDX and MDX. Sedan models seat up to 5 people. SUV models can seat up to 8 people and plenty of room for cargo and can be adjusted for smaller families as well. Their cars are very sporty and luxurious. Clean lines and sharp features are often found in these brands. Comes in colors white, black, and grey. Features include navigation in the touring models, CD player, remote alarm, seat warmers, blue led lights, window defogger. Upgrade stereo to DVD player or in dash system. Personalize every drivers seating preference like the navigation system and music settings and volumes. Overall great customer service and luxury models always come fully loaded. Warranty is awesome and great efficiency in gas mileage. Value of car is worth it in the long run.
Acura has many different styles of which I chose one that was underrated and I was correct about the style being underrated. I was luckily judging by the quality. This car has a great design on the steering wheel as well as fast working brakes which lead to a safe drive and this makes me feel safer at night or plain daylight. The upgrade is as amazing as rescuing a cow from a trapped low quality fence. It is always an amazing thing to look forward towards when it comes to cars. Plus this vehicle can hold up to 5 people at once. It can hold more if squeezed in or even if little children were to be put in.
I was driving on the freeway at about 60 MPH, keeping up with morning traffic on US101N, when my ACURA MDX 2011 suddenly stalled. I was pressing my foot on the accelerator but it would not go faster; in fact, it started slowing down. I was able to coast off to an exit, luckily, and then the car completely stalled, and would not start back up again. The dealership, Acura of Marin happened to be right there, and I had bought the car from them, Certified used, just 5 months prior. Although the service department was really great, and my car was under warranty, I sold the car back to them at a loss. Turned out it was a faulty/defective fuel pump. They called it bad; I call it defective. I was lucky that neither my children and I who were in the car, nor anyone else got hurt at the time of incident. No warning lights ever came on. Would not buy another Acura again.
I purchased two CPO Acuras. A 2014 RDX with 8000 miles on it and a 2015 TLX with 5,000 miles. Since then have performed all maintenance as specified through a dealer. I have had issues with both vehicles as described below. With under 50,000 miles on the RDX a check emissions light came on and I replaced a front rocker arm oil sensor switch. One month later the light came back on and I was told the the vehicle needed to have a software upgrade for the engine and transmission for $200. 3 days later the light came back on and now the Im told the rear oil sensor switch needs to be replaced for another $300.With TLX I experienced something I had never seen. Approximately 3 or 4 months after replacing the battery at the dealer the car shut down completely at an intersection with no power on to anything not even the emergency flashers. I was forced to call the police and a tow truck to get me to the dealer $400 later the dealer informed me that the replacement battery had failed. Of course they replaced the battery at no charge but no compensation for the cost of the tow or my time (I was on my way to a client). I would seriously advise anyone looking at spending the money on an luxury brand to be advised to careful consider not only the vehicle but how youll be treated afterwards.
I have had three Acura vehicles. The first two vehicles were of good quality, but the third is terrible. From the beginning Ive had problem. Ive only had it two year, but there are numerous small issues like a bluetooth system that does not work properly, a sound system that is intermittently tinny, windshield wipers that do not function on auto, and other similar small things. I have also had to have the car in for a major repair to the engine because a valve got stuck open. It shifts gears with a significant clunk frequently. And the parking sensors in the front have now been replaced twice because they start beeping at empty space. I have had the vehicle at the dealership multiple times, but because the issues are intermittent, they cannot find them and therefore cannot repair them. I have now talked to customer relations at corporate Acura multiple times, only to be told that because the dealership cant find the problems, corporate wont do anything. So now Im stuck with a vehicle that doesnt perform correctly, they Acura cant fix and wont take back.
2008 Acura MDX rear cupholder - We had an issue with the rear cup holder not opening properly. It was getting stuck. We dealt with it for several months. Finally, I decided to bring it in. They said, It looks like liquid was spilled on it, and could not be fixed, needed to be replaced. I paid for replacement parts and labor. Within a few months, it was doing the same thing. I questioned if my original one was defective and, in fact, not my fault at all. I asked if they could please fix and have the part ready so I would not have to make the trip out there again since it takes at least 2 hours for oil change. When I got there, they said, It looks like someone spilled liquid in it; we will order another one. It will be a day or two. I was frustrated because NO ONE spilled on the new one. Now I had to come back again when I specifically asked so we could avoid this. Then I find online an Acura Service Bulletin stating there are issues with this. Several people have the same problem and bring it in to have it fixed under warranty. Now I am really frustrated. When I confronted the service rep, Charlotte, she said, Well, that could be a new bulletin. No, it is 5 years old. Why did I have to find this on my own? Why did they just keep telling me, You spilled liquid? I expressed my aggravation and stated that I wanted my money back for the first one that I should not have had to pay for. She told me to call Acura. I said, Im in Acura dealership; who do I call? She said, Call California. Seriously! Then the service manager came out and said, I am not replacing this one as it is sticky, as he proceeds to show me the outside of the housing unit, which clearly has no effect on the internal mechanism. Then he began to ask me to read the bulletin. After 2 new cars from there and 8 years of loyal service to them? I spent thousands on new tires, service appointments, new parts, etc. And I am left with, Call California. I am very disappointed and I will no longer service my car there. I will no longer consider Acura for any future purchases.
Almost all sensors started to give trouble and the car froze on highway. Had to get it towed to Acura Service. Apparently, it was due to a bad Alternator that stopped charging the battery and that in turn froze all electrical systems like ABS, AWD, Power Steering etc. Alternator location is poorly designed - I was told an oil leak on the Alternator was the issue. It costed me $3000. After getting it fixed, I had the sensor trouble within 3 months again! Will never buy or recommend Acura to anyone again.
I highly recommend this brand for many different reasons. They have wide selection of models as well as colors and has a lot of wonderful features from DVD to CD player to choose from. The styles are one of a kind. There are many wonderful exterior colors and the interior comes in leather or your basic interior. You can upgrade your vehicle but it will cost. If you dont like the features on the inside of the car you can have it changed to fit your personal needs and style. This brand of car has plenty of room for family and friends. I know that is definitely a plus.
2012 Acura TL Power steering fails. From the airbag recall to the transmission recall I can handle. Now the fact that my power steering suddenly seizes and leaves me in the middle of an intersection with a non functional vehicle I cannot handle. The answer? Pay to have the EPS replaced. Now, going on blogs this is a COMMON issue and should be a recall warranty issue! Not self pay. Someone is going to die until Acura/Honda notices. Its not right. I have been a Honda or Acura owner for years. I will tell you, this will be my last. It is dangerous and someone will die then they might listen.
Acura was useful and satisfied my needs. It was small nice and interesting enough so that I could fit inside and feel comfortable. It has enough seats so I could fit my brother, father, and mother. It is roomy enough to not feel stuffy or claustrophobic for myself and others. The radio, and the air conditioner worked and I cant really complain about it. I usually try to get a guided positional satellite receiver because I get lost a lot in my drivings. I would recommend this brand to anyone who wants to try it and I hope that you will consider trying this brand just like I did.
I purchased Acura Care for my Acura MDX. The engine failed and it took 76 days to replace. Acura Care attempted to put a 60,000 mile engine back in my vehicle but I prevented it. They finally had the Walser Acura dealership install factory parts, but they delayed the process for two months. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service, care, and professionalism offered throughout this experience. IF I would have signed a forever discharge release, they would have made my car payment while it was in the shop. Since I would not sign, they withdrew their goodwill gesture. Acura, American Honda, Acura Care and the Walser Acura dealership left me very disappointed that a luxury automobile company would treat their customer in such a manner. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. I would not recommend purchasing Acura Care for your next purchase if you choose to take your chances with an Acura.
I have owed 8 Hondas/Acuras in the last 30 years. This time my 2011 MDX is burning oil so I called Acura. They said I was under the mileage needed to have to rings and engine rebuilt but my time had expired so TOO BAD. I asked how they contacted me about this problem as they knew about the other 7 cars I owned. They said, Oh we contacted you. I asked how since they had my email, phone number and home address. They could not verify they sent anything. They could not even tell me how they contacted me. So Im going to put on a sandwich board above my car saying I got screwed by Honda/Acura. Ask me how. If this is customer service I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.
2016 Acura tlx transmission jerking. I got this car on May 2019. Certified 2016 Acura tlx. Since 2 trip to dealer. First they say they did a software update and still not good. Still jerk. Now second trip to dealer well got foreman from Acura on a test drive with me. He feel it and in one jerk after one stop sign it was violent so left it in the dealer. After a week they call me and say we went for a drive with case manager and computer plug and everything fine and not able to duplicate plus no code this transmission in. This cars are crap piece of **. Stay away from Acura up to this is resolve. Buy a Lexus.Anyway now I send a email and tell them I will contact a lawyer because I only have this car for 4 months and this hesitation is awful. Acura relation call me saying the case manager is out of office and he will be calling in a day or so. This is a week later no call so lawyer up as soon I can set with my attorney then will see if is a problem with the transmission or not. I’m done. I will let my lawyer to deal with them. Car is not safe with jerking and hesitation no matter what the ** they say. Honda of America need to fix this problem. Big mistake buying this car.
The power in the 2020 MDX Hybrid Advance is amazing, especially the torque at a start or moving onto a freeway. The Comfort Mode makes the ride smooth, but putting it into Sport mode and this car can move! The Expresso interior is beautiful and the interior is quiet. In fact, trying out other luxury SUVs, this MDX Hybrid is the most quiet. Great gas mileage. Only $1600 more for the Hybrid over the regular MDX Advance. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this car.
I bought the Acura MDX 2014 three months ago, the LED tail light does not work. I took it to the Cerritos Acura dealer for repair (2 times) and they told me the warranty is void because I have one very minor scratch at the light. DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE.... HONDA is trying to void your warranty and they wont admitted it is engineering problem.
I do own a 2005 acura tl which had engine change when was only 55000 miles. Now the vehicle has 118000 miles and the transmission went bad. I call Acura to tell them the issue and they told me that the warranty was over. This car was well maintenance.
My Acura TL 2014 model was purchased new and I never had a black vehicle but always seen black cars and they looked great. The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The vehicle rides so smoothly on various roads while steering is very comfortable and ease to control the vehicle. Overall I recommend this vehicle but my taste has changed in terms of car type. I would like to pursue a mid sized SUV in the future.
I bought the Acura MDX 2007 1/1/2014. The car had this battery issue that caused it to died. In the span of 5 months, four of the car battery died. Each time we replaced it with a new battery. After the fourth time we brought it up to the dealer because we have a warranty. The dealership claimed that replacing the HFL unit and the the battery cable which would total around $670. We only have drove it for around 4,000 miles and this was outrageous. The dealership would refuse to accept that the warranty would cover this. The warranty claims that this isnt cover and the dealer said that the warranty refused to pay the $670 required to fix this. After calling the warranty company for hours, they refused to fix this. After reading online for a while I notice that Im not the only one with this issue, its a common occurrence for other acura owners. A note to buyers, check your warranty! Make sure to check what they cover and what they dont. We paid around $2,400 for the warranty for 3 years and this hasnt even been a year and were having this issue. The warranty company is MPP (mechanical protection plan). Make sure youre checking what you get before you buy it! We basically spent $2,400 for nothing. Another annoying thing was when we sent the car in for repair, the dealership didnt offer us a replacement car to help us travel around while its being repair. They also didnt bother calling us back. I had to call them and ask whats going on. If you have had similar car issue and resolved this Im in need of help. Please message me!
Leather seats, heated seats, GPS, moon roof, 6 disc player, power windows, power locks, automatic and manual 6 cylinder, rides smooth, radio sounds really good and loud. Acura is generally a good looking car and it gets a lot of compliments and its not that bad in the snow. The passenger capacity holds about the driver which is 1 and then the passenger up front is 1 then the back holds at least three people so the car holds about five people.
The Cars for Credit lot is a great place to go for any type of consumer. They are very easy to deal with even without much of a down payment. The design of teh car is much more stylish than past years but maintains the durability and functionality. A great brand for anyone interested in a quality automobile. You can get a lot of additional great features for customized personalization. They do everything possible to maintain quality. There is plenty of leg and head room for all the passengers to ride comfortably. A great overall ride.
Just a heads up to advise one more dissatisfied Acura owner. I have an 02 CL with less than 61K miles on it. I have maintained the engine every 5K miles using only Mobil 1 synthetic and did a complete change out of tranny fluid at 47K using the recommended Honda transmission fluid. The other day I was driving down the 405 fwy in L.A. and the transmission surged (as in threw me forward in the seat) as though the transmission decided to drop into 1st gear and then back up to normal RPM range again. I knew something was really screwed up with the transmission so I maintained a constant speed until I got to my exit 4 miles down the road. When I exited the freeway, the transmission started revving up and down trying to find the correct gear, slipping along the way. Obviously something was wrong and I only hoped the tranny would last long enough to get me home.I contacted Acura Client Relations to see what concessions they might consider relative to repairing a meticulously maintained transmission with only 60K miles on it. I was advised to take it into an Acura dealership to have them diagnose the problem and they would consider the matter after further assessment. $150 later with no technical diagnosis other than a yeah, its screwed up and a $6800 estimate, I called Acura Client Relations back to plead my case. I was advised my Client Relations that the recall extended the warranty mileage to 100K (I think) but the age of the car was outside of their warranty period. I suggested that I could understand their not covering the stitching on a seat or crack in a dashboard but time shouldnt affect the functionality of a maintained transmission. To cut to the chase, Acura would not consider any compensation in this matter given the warranty period. When I asked them why they would direct me to pay a $150 diagnosis fee if they had no intention of picking up any of the associated costs, they said that if the problem was related to the 2nd gear recall they might consider sharing some of the expenses associated with the repair of the transmission but that would have to be determined by the dealership. I was denied even the $150 diagnosis fee they had directed me to incur. My issue is the complete denial of Acura assuming any responsibility for a premium vehicle meticulously maintained with a history of transmission problems. Acura obviously doesnt care about their customers or they would have at the very least offered to pay the $150 diagnostic fee I was directed to incur. The transmissions have had a sordid history of breaking down and you might expect some sort of compensation for a car with so few miles on it. Can anyone advise whether having the transmission rebuilt (outside of Acura with a quoted estimate of $2500) would assure a more reliable transmission... one that might last another 40K to 50K miles, or should I just bite the bullet and sell it for parts? One further question - can anybody refer me to a reputable transmission rebuild shop in the Los Angeles (South bay) area and how much should I expect to pay?
Our 2007 MDX was taken in for A/C evaluation. The A/C was repaired but then we were given a list of other items that needed attention: Drive Belt (glazing and cracking), Engine Coolant Dirty, Power Steering Leaking and required new pump, right front stabilizer Links needed replacing. Plus all fluids low and dirty including the transmission and brake fluid. After picking up the vehicle with just A/C service, I immediately drove it over to a reputable repair service that is AAA approved. The only item that would need to be replaced within the next 10K miles or so was the right front stabilizer Links. The mechanic showed us the power steering = no leak, the fluids = clean and full, and the drive belt was perfect. How do dealers get away with this?
Seems that I have purchased a vehicle with a bad history of torque converters and I am now one of those victims. Dissatisfied that I did not do homework on this brand and model. Me bad. Just have to say that when after a year not one service place knew what I was talking about, I should have gotten online. Went to an Acura dealer and got a clean bill of health one month. The under body vibrates and grinds a noise at certain speeds which has not been consistent, now the engine does not want to go as if transmission is not getting power and that is not consistent yet. Here I bragged about this car and seems that Acura needs to make a count on how many MDXes have this problem. Husband bought this for me and I wanted to get my own in the summer, now I will find the heated seats in another brand!
The car is the best that I have driven. It rides smooth... its good on gas... and I have not had any problems with the car since I got it. I can fit everyone I need in the car comfortably.. everyone has legroom. I love that I dont have to hear anyone complain about being too close to the other. When you see the car you know its an Acura. Its unlike any other car I have ever seen or ever driven. I would recommend it to everyone.
I started my 2012 TSX and got intermittent flashing of my check power steering system, total loss of power steering physically. I asked Acura for concession and they declined. I havent been able to drive my car cause of unsafe amount of force to turn steering wheel at low speeds. Also, the estimate was outrageous. $740 just for the new EPS control module. I find other failures of 2012 TSX EPS, one of them is here on this site, Victoria of Millstone Township NJ. Another failure on Acurazine blog site, found it through google search of electronic power steering failure 2012 TSX.
On March 22, 2014, I purchased a certified used 2012 Acura TL. I drove the vehicle on a long distance trip and I developed a headache and didnt associate it with the car at the time. When I arrived to my destination, I had a migraine headache. I continued to drive the car and more symptoms developed. I realized that it was something in the car which was causing the reaction (headaches, tingling/sensation on my lips which caused soreness and cracking/chapping, tightness in my chest and throat, irritation/tingling of my eyes and sensitivity of my gums and teeth and queasiness). I returned the car numerous times in order to clean the seat belts, remove the leather protector and deodorize the car. Unfortunately, the reactions persisted.I visited over 12 dealerships and all the cars that I drove caused a reaction. Some reactions were mild and others were severe. 2,500 miles were added to the odometer since I took possession of the car. The car was parked because I didnt want to continue to take Benadryl to prevent a physical allergic reaction every time I drove the car. I visited an allergist in order to find out why I was having a reaction to cars and was advised that the cause is formaldehyde. At this point, I was very concerned about my health. On 09/23/2014, I purchased a new 2013 Volvo S80. The Acura dealership agreed to buy the TL back for $25,000.00; which $5,301.30 was added to the purchase of the Volvo. Unfortunately, Im still having a reaction but it’s not as severe as the 2012 Acura TL. I took allergy and sinus medicine for two weeks after I purchased the Volvo which I thought would eliminate the reaction. From my understanding, that legally the dealership didnt have to buy the car back and the lemon law doesn’t apply to used vehicles. I tried to return the 2012 Acura TL a few weeks after I purchased the vehicle. What rights does a person have when a certified used car is purchased? I’m not sure if it will be feasible to seek legal advice since I dont have the vehicle any longer. If not, I would like consumers to know that it’s a proven fact that a person can have an allergic reaction to a car. This is a unique situation and Im not sure if there are other related cases, but I would like to be that person who takes this issue to the highest resources. I will provide all documents if needed.
In two years we have never had an issue with the Acura. Other than a little road noise it has been very dependable with more than adequate power and performance. This is a 2017 model AWD with the 6 cyl engine.
I left my Canadian 2001 Acura 3.2TL at AutoWest Acura of Stevens Creek for a recall check up on the automatic transmission overheating problem on 1/30/2012. I communicated with Sarah from Canada Acura client services and she said that AutoWest Acura of Stevens Creek just needs to give her a call and shell provide the procedures necessary to perform the recall. Jaime from AutoWest Stevens Creek, on the other hand, left me a voicemail yesterday at 6:42 pm saying that his service manager needs to do more research on my car before working on it and that the last Canadian car that was brought in about a year ago sat there for 3-4 months, almost 5 months, and he implied that I might not want to wait that long to get the required service from them.Quoting their recall letter, What is the problem? Certain operating conditions can result in heat build-up in the transmission second gear set on certain 2000-2003 vehicles. This could result in gear tooth chipping or, in very rare cases, gear breakage. Gear failure could result in transmission lock-up and a crash could occur without warning. In most cases, abnormal transmission noise will indicate a problem.I refuse to accept the fact that they are showing absolutely no urgency in having this defect remedied. It is ridiculously that a dealership who sells Acura cars could not locate the necessary documents to prove that this recall exists. I literally had to make all the calls and walk the service advisor through their own company website as if it was their first time seeing recalls. Even then, Jaime insisted that the recall letter on Acuras website was not enough information.Who dares buy an Acura now?
My first warranty ran out. I am so barraged with phone calls about extending it I chose not to pursue another one. The calls are a constant irritation. Besides, after 100,000 miles with no problems I’ve already gotten my money’s worth.
This complaint is about 2011 Acura TSX. I leased a 2011 Acura TSX. The front driver leather seat is so hard, so stiff the bottom stitches are so bad stitched. They can hurt your back, they are hurting my back very much. Before you buy it or lease it, try it well. And Acura is not doing anything about it.
The Acura car works well with great quality including technology and runs fast. It has a lot more experience and it is also expensive, but its worth it. The appearance is amazing and they run in different colors. And dont get me started with the features. Theyre really creative!!! Their upgrade and personalization options are okay. However, I feel this is not their best decision or choice but they can do much better. But basically, great quality and compansive. The passenger seat feels just right. Its very comfortable and I feel secure right in place. Good job.
Not many different models, but there are great colors and have different engine sizes. The car itself was great looking and I loved the easy going body. It didnt look like some weird spaceship like other cars look. The car had a nice sleek looking dash and is easy to clean too. My immediate space, and front seat passenger space was nice and did not feel confined. However the backseat was small and not very comfortable. Also, whenever I had issues with my car, the parts were very expensive and that was the downside for myself.
My wife and I bought a Certified Pre-Owned Acura from Acura of Ocean. We should have bought a Certified Piece of ** thats what we got. We have the same issue that so many other Acura Users have with the mysteriously battery. It’s amazing the common thread and no laws have been broken or a recall issued. What does this need to be insured and licensed like mortgages through the government? Is that the only way to keep organizations honest? Acura you have a common theme here you pushing luxury pieces of junk. Dont buy Acura. You want a luxury car? Buy a Mercedes. Buy Toyota. You will enjoy more luxury.
The Acura has a variety of different cars and usually all fuel efficient. When I purchased my car I looked at a variety of Nissans and chose the Acura due to the fuel efficiency of the product. I have a black model and love it. It is shiny and always stays shiny. I like the red color in this car. I did not do any upgrades on my Acura since I was trying to keep the cost down, but many are available. The best one in my opinion is the navigation system. The passenger capacity is also good and sits 5 including the driver. I dont think you can get better than that but I am completely satisfied with it. I am very happy with my Acura.
Even knowing what you are looking for, looking at the various models at the Acura dealership is helpful and exciting. Knowing what features are included in which models is a must going forward. The sleek lines and smooth new-car finish is just the beginning in your hunt for decisions and choices. The backing camera and individual temperature controls are a must. Color, features, accouterments, specifications - the wonderful decisions you get to make are just part of the incredible journey. Decisions like these are always fun! Passenger capacity is always something to be considered when choosing a vehicle. I would always expect at least a 5-passenger vehicle. This was easily accomplished. The best part of my year.
I had the four door base model with few features other than the standard package but it felt luxurious to me. The stereo system sounded great. The car felt well put together by the manufacturer. The heating unit was quick to respond after startup. I had the black and when it was polished up would look great at night against the street lights. The all wheel drive made it great for cruising around. I really liked the radio interface. The backseat was also very roomy. I once had three friends in the back for a four hour trip and they were able to survive. There was enough room to make it comfortable.
Acura has comfortable luxury cars ranging from small sedans to SUV. I own the TL which is a luxury sedan with a V6 engine. They also have an Acura RL which is even more luxurious and the Acura MDX which is a luxury SUV. Acura has very good looking cars that are very comfortable, along with many luxury features. Seat warmers, air conditioning, hands free link, customizable seat adjustment, a huge trunk, leather seats. In the Acura TL you can customize your temperature, your seat position, and the side mirrors. The Acura MDX you can get leather interior and automatic locks. The Acura TL has a ton of space in the backseat and also has a ton of space in the front seat and also has a giant trunk. You can seat 5 people very comfortably. The Acura MDX seats 5 people with even more space in the front and in the back.
On 6/23/10, I experienced transmission failure from my 2002 Acura MDX and brought it to an Acura dealership. I was not informed of the recall issued 4/15/04 impacting transmissions for this year and model and was quoted for full replacement. Therefore, I had rebuilt at another facility due to cost at Acura dealership. Then on 8/14/11, I was traveling back from a trip and my transmission locked up on the highway almost resulting in a crash. I had to have the car towed 215 miles back to the transmission shop that serviced the vehicle. After further research, I identified that this issue was a result of the gear shift becoming too hot at a high speed, causing the transmission to grenade inside. This was exactly what is described as the defect consequence in the recall information. Due to the faulty transmission design, an additional jet oil kit is needed in order to ensure the transmission functions properly to allow fluid to flow through the transmission and dissipate heat. I placed a claim with Acura product services because both transmission issues were due to overheating of the gears. They denied my case and did not even contact the two shop references verifying both transmission issues were a result of this.
I am writing this review to improve this service. It appears that only the people who have had trouble with their Acura vehicles have left reviews. Think of how many people own an Acura. Hello people. This is only a handful of owners. I am sure there are just as many complaint with any other manufacturer. Here is a better idea. Lease your vehicle before you buy it. If you dont like it, and you bought the malfunction/replacement protection plan, you arent out anything. It sounds like most of these people are just ignorant, and like to cry about something they were too cheap to buy. You people bought a luxury vehicle. Buy the protection plan. It isnt that expensive. If you bought the vehicle, buy the protection for it. You obviously have the money. I just got my first Acura, and I feel you are just trying to scare potential buyers, because you had problems. I love my car. It is the best car I have ever owned. Its comfortable, stylish, has plenty of space, a V-tech engine, heated seats, GPS navigation, all leather interior, power everything, moon roof, and it handles like a dream. On top of all of that, I have their cheapest vehicle, an ILX. I have only had it for two weeks, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, you people sound like spoiled adults who have always got what they desired. Why did you buy it? I tell you why. You heard they make luxurious vehicles that run forever. Why have you heard that? Because they are made by the same people who make Honda, and everyone knows Honda makes great cars. If you want to whine, buy something else. You wont hurt their business. Buy a cheaply made Mitsubishi or Hyundai. Quit trying to ruin peoples driving experience, because yours was.
Worst decision I have ever made!! I purchased a 2014 Acura MDX a year ago. The Heater in this car is absolutely awful! I live in Minnesota where below zero climates are very common. I try warming up the car (Heater on HIGH, Blower on HIGH) nearly 15 minutes in advance of driving it only to find the cabin temperature at about 50 to 60 degrees at best. While driving for at least 45 minutes, again, heater and blower on the highest setting it is still cold in this car. The driver side temperature is the worst. My feet are never warm. Ive noticed cold air coming in from the outside below by the Gas pedal, so the outside cold air flowing + the minimal warm air that is blowing from the so called heater = NO heat at my Feet!! Clearly a void in the design of this car. Ive also noticed when the car is idle at a stop the heater basically shuts down with only cool air flowing from the vents. Only when you accelerate the heat starts flowing, making it nearly impossible to warm up this car.Ive taken the car back to the dealer a half dozen times with no solution. The response I received from the representative last week when I returned with the same complaint was, Ive heard the heaters in these cars are not the best. Really??? It didnt occur to me when I purchased a $50,000 dollar car that I should be concerned if the heater was sufficient. I am so disappointed with this car. Really the only solution I have now if I want to be warm this winter is to sell this car. I can assure you the next car I purchase will not be Acura, Never, Ever!!!
Bought a 2017 RDX Advance only to find out that 1/2 the features will not work without purchasing Acura link. Has been almost a week trying to set it up because they put in a wrong email address. It still doesnt work! I have found them to be unhelpful, and incompetent! Hands down my worst car buying experience! Like the RDX. Hate the customer care.
J have owned this vehicle since 5k miles. The ‘feature’ called engine auto stop has never worked properly, leaving me stranded at intersections countless times. It also drains the battery which Acura refuses to replace annually as a safety assurance. Acura is so arrogant that they claim nothing is wrong with the system and refuses to provide a way to permanently shut it off resulting in a death trap. Would you drive a vehicle whose brakes work 95% of the time with no warning for failure? I think not. I was almost rear ended by a large truck because this piece of garbage feature once again failed. Acura has me take it to a dealer to be told for the second time there was no issue. Do not buy any Honda products with this feature. I believe that the people at Honda hate their customers and want them to die because of this one feature.
DO NOT BUY AN ACURA. I have a 5-year-old Acura with 55,000 - Garage kept. All of the so called leather is coming off the doors and has torn on the side of the drivers seat. I called Acura/Honda goodwill department and received a callback today saying it would cost $3600.00 but they will give me a discount and I can pay only $750.00. I have had Lexus, BMW, and a Nissan which were much older and never had a problem with the leather.
I am faithful Honda buyer. Currently, I own a 97 Prelude, 08 Accord V6, 08 Pilot and a 07 Acura MDX. Of all these cars, the MDX has been the worst in quality. First, there was the left suspension that rattles at 12k miles. My dealership (Continental Acura of Naperville) took countless of trips to diagnose the problem; they replaced the whole front left suspension, rear left suspension, re-did the brakes and after 6 visits, it was determined that the battery holder was cracked. Now, the car has 33k miles and the oil sensor switch has malfunctioned. In all my years of owning cars ranging from 0 miles to 200k miles, this has never happened. My car is past the warranty, so I am out of pocket $230. However, if you do a bit of research online, Acura has had this issue with 07-11 MDX, but did not issue a recall on the system. I own a 08 Honda Pilot and I have never had any issues. If you are considering buying an MDX, I employ you to take a look at their cheaper sister, Honda, who has better service and quality. And if luxury is what you really want, then go check out a Lexus. This is not a biased view, but rather a fact from US News and World Report, Motor Trend and Edmunds. I also talked to a US rep (1-800-382-2238, if anyone else needs it). There’s no help on the matter, just an apology for the poor product.
I have had a great experience with my Acura. I got it for a good deal and it has been reliable for over 5 years. I did have to get a new transmission, but if you take care of this car, it will run forever. I love my car and am so thankful I had such a great first car experience. I also like the heated seats and wonderful heat and AC. The car accelerates quickly and well, too. The transmission problems are really the only problem I have really had with this vehicle. But the car is otherwise very reliable and safe to drive. I have never felt in danger or like I did not get my moneys worth.
Honda Acuras are designed like a luxury car but with a reasonable dollar sign. They ride smooth. The 2008 Acura is compact but sporty at the same time. Its fully loaded, remote start. The color is a deep dark green, with the softest caramel colored leather seats. I love the leather seats. Its a sleek little sedan that looks sporty. I like how when driving, it drives so smooth. Its comfortable for long road trips and has the best gas mileage. But I might change how the cup holders and console are situated. I dislike how the memory setting for the seats work. It memorizes by size not by number. So I program the seat for me and it always goes to my husbands setting first because he is the bigger setting. I am programmed under number one, and he is programmed to number two. I still have to go through his setting before go to mine.
I have several complaints about Acura and to be more specific, both Acura of Bay Shore and Acura Company. I leased a RDX in 2015. They deceived me in every possible way. Before I went to Acura I had a lease through Nissan and I had 5 months left on that lease. Allison, the sales rep, repeatedly told me that they would pay the 5 months I had on my previous lease as part of the deal. Needless to say, they added the amount of those 5 months to the new lease. The day I sign the contract I was in a hurry and I did not want to go through the whole process and I took responsibility and I am paying for what they told me they would do.One of the selling points was, or is, that Every time you bring your vehicle for service we will wash it for you. Well give you a free car wash every time. When I brought the truck for the first service, I dropped it in the morning around 8am. I did not hear from them until I called around 3:00pm. They said it would be ready in 45 min. When I received the truck it had noticeably some drops of water and all the dirt that it came with when I drop it. So I called the service person. When I showed to him the quality of the job done, he offered to take it back to wash it. Once again, they did not deliver on their promise and deceive me again. And the most recent complaint, which is no fault of Acura of Bay Shore but Acura as a Company, is that due to the recall on the Takata airbag used on my Acura RDX, I have been trying to reach Acura to work with me. My RDX has been parked for a month now and will be until the dealership receives the parts to replace which could be 3 month or a year, according to service manager. In the meantime, they provided me with a rental, a Kia Sedona. I have tried to get a different car, something comparable to what I am paying for. It hurts to pay $475.00 a month and drive a $200.00 dollar a month truck. After one month the car rental place contracted by Acura claims that, they dont have any SUVs available. I have called the Acura Relations Department to negotiate my monthly payments, to lower or stop for the time I am not using the car. They told me they cannot do anything for me and I am to fulfill the contract by paying my monthly lease of $475.00 for something I cant use. I have not been late with any payments since I entered into this contract with Acura. I have fulfill my obligation but ACURA HAS FAIL TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE CAR. I dont expect to resolve this issues in my favor at this point. I just hope that whoever is reading this THINKS TWICE before dealing with Acura Company.
The ILX is a nice small car with good electronic features. The TL, TLX and many other Acura models have very nice exterior and interior designs and it isnt too small or too big and has nice seats that arent easily damaged. The cars work very well and have great helping technology. The upgrade options are very good just a little pricey, the upgrade includes extra things for the car to make it look and perform better which adds onto an already great car. Acuras are very good for family, you can fit 5 people in it which is a good size, there is enough space to take little road trips.
2007 Acura MDX Elite - I have had battery issues also, kept boosting drained battery; then took to dealer for testing. The problem was a parasitic drain caused by the phone link component in steering wheel, this is a $741 part. I choose to disconnect the device instead without any further issue. In response to some of you who have had shock and strut problems, I replaced the with after market products, cost $185 + labour per unit (dealer cost $740 per for rear, $1000 for front struts). So yes, after market works just dandy and by the way, this is the first shock/strut replacement after 248,000km, all hard cdn driving.
I bought this car new in 2005. Having owned 5 Hondas over the previous 25 years I was sure I was buying a quality vehicle. I could not have been more wrong. The car engine is sound and runs well. But, the car is falling apart around me! *. 2 years in the silver metal covering on the driver door handle began to bubble.*. 2 years in the black trim that surrounds the outside windows began to peel. I took a hairdryer to it and peeled it all off revealing a nice shiny silver edge. So those were easily fixed by me and everything was well. Then year 5 happened and it has been all downhill since. *. Leather seats began to crack and tear. *. Seat warmer on drivers side no longer works. *. Navigation system went down. *. Battery consistently dies if not driven for 2 or more days. Batteries have been checked and rechecked by 3 different companies. *. Dash computer is dead. I cannot set the clock. Every time the battery dies the clock resets to a different time. Bluetooth gone. *. And then we are driving down the road and Im in the passenger seat and I see something move on the dash. I look closer... ITS CRACKING!!! It split from the window all the way down to just above the glove box in about 30 minutes. It has since split on the drivers side.*. Poor quality paint. We are two women in our 50s. We have had this car detailed every year since we bought it. It does not sit out in the sun very often. We own a 1998 Subaru Forrester with leather seats that it showing very little wear and tear and has 80,000 more miles then the Acura. Both cars have been well maintained and cared for. The Acura cost $20,000 more than the Subaru. Our nephew still drives our 86 Honda Accord, it has had an engine and transmission replaced and has over 300,000 miles on it. The interior looks better than the Acura. We thought we were buying a luxury sedan. I am embarrassed by this car and very disappointed in its quality. Too bad because we were loyal Honda owners for many years, NO MORE! Im buying a Subaru Outback next time.
The brands that this car offers are RSX, TSX and many other styles that are cool, efficient and reliable. I personally like the Integra cause it is sporty and fast. The car has many features that arent new but are what a vehicle needs and its very comfortable. I highly recommend it to people who like JDM. There are many modifications one can do with the Integra from engine mods to the interior. There is room for 8 people in the back because Im Mexican and Mexicans can fit 30 people in a mini van with no problem.
Experienced total steering failure. Extremely dangerous, apparently a more wide scale problem and they don’t seem to care people could die. Upwards of $3500 to get it fixed! This is on a 4 year old upscale vehicle (Acura TL). This dealer (Hertrich Acura) especially does not care after purchasing 6 cars among me and family. Car was impeccably maintained but if you don’t service the vehicle at their overpriced garage you can forget it. It does have a 109k miles on it but that’s a break in period for other upscale brands! Stay away!
The Acura I purchased was sporty and fun to drive. It had all the safety features I wanted as well as most of the options I was looking for within my budget. I had bought a sport coupe, but even with the 2 doors, the back seat had ample leg room for anyone sitting back there. I was pleasantly surprised how roomy the car was. The upgrades I got were rear spoiler, power sunroof, and leather interior. All other options I wanted were standard features with the model I chose. There is a good selection offered by Acura, however, they could diversify their cars a little more. They should offer a more affordable selection of sport coupes.
Acura RDX 2019. I bought my RDX in Aug 2019. The brakes immediately were squeaking. I thought because they were new it had to be broken into. At 4000 miles I couldnt take it anymore bought to acura and they replaced the pads and rotors. A month into it here I am again. Now they claim its a known issue and it cannot be fixed. How can a 40000 + car not be fixed. They expect me to drive this car with these embarrassing brakes making noises. Shame on acura. They are a disgrace. I have always had a Lexus should of never switched. Worst mistake in my life. Acura cannot shine their shoes.
Overall love the Acura TSX. V6 is great. Mechanically any issues have been minor, mostly electrical. But the finish isnt holding up as well as I would hope or expect from Acura. Had peeling paint issues with a prior Honda product as well (Accord).
I have been giving business to Acura since 2010 and I bought one TL, leased TL/RLX. You could say that I was a loyal Acura customer. Least as I had expected, Acura stole my money and screws me up. When I was leasing the 2014 RXL I signed out auto-payment via my checking account; for fear of continuing charges from my checking account. I asked my bank (Citibank) to stop the auto payment in November, 2015 and I had been sending checks every month since until I traded the 2014 RXL to 2016 RLX in May, 2016 in Acura of Westchester and as usual, the dealer pays off the remain value and I signed a new lease with Westchester Acura. So I thought, and you will think as well, that the 2014 RLX car is left behind me. Lo and behold, in July 2018, I received a letter both from Acura Financial services and collection agency charging me $1651.98. When I first called Acura Financial service, a man with British accent told me that I did not pay the last month payment (which is strange, even it were true that I did not pay the last payment, it would only be $825.99, not $1651.98). When I called them back again from my vocation on 07/31/18, Acura financial told me a totally different story -- Because Acura overcharged me 3 months (twice of $825.99), I called my bank and the bank reversed the overcharge. Now Acura wants me to pay extra money, when in fact that the dealer had already bought off the older car and I am under new lease over 2 years! Acura had overcharged me more than 3 months and only month even charged me 3 TIMES! That is stealing because by contract, I only authorized Acura to charge me once a month! Not only that Acura lying to me by saying that they had been trying to contact me during the past 2 years, which is the biggest lie in the world -- because I have never received any mail/call regarding the 2014 RLX until July, 2018 and I have been paying the monthly payment of the 2016 RLX every month. I called Westchester Acura and spoke with the General Manager who was angry as well and states that he will contact Acura Financial Services in the morning. Regardless what outcome it will be, I have lost trust and confidence towards Acura and would like to share this experience with you guys, especially the potential buyers -- stay away from Acura unless you want to be screwed up and potentially have your credit scores affected negatively and being bullied and discriminated like this! I plan to go to court if this matter is not resolved. Watch out giving business to Acura! Watch your wallet because Acura may steal from you like what they did to me!
Acura is a really nice car, has good quality and it drives great. It also looks great on the outside and inside. It has one of a kind color, has great features and no other cars have classy looking. You can choose from up to date technology and it has great choices for your lifestyle. In addition, it has plenty of room for passengers. I have SUV so I can fit my whole family. Theres a lot of room when I go to the grocery shop or store. Overall, its a great car inside and out. I love this car and I would buy it again. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome car.
2004 MDX - Around 100,000, the radiator broke. Around 110,000, the auto transmission was toasted. $4,600 to fix. Just last week, power steering pump leaked. Who could ask more, anything more?
Acura almost put the highest quality in their vehicles. They have models such as Acura MDX, RDX, and many more. The appearance is very stylish and the features are great. They come with the latest technology and everything to make your drive comfortable and safe. The upgrades are always top notch and I never have to worry about the quality. The personalization options are the best I have seen. I love being able to customize it the way I want. The passenger capacity is definitely the best. Always enough room for my passengers to have a comfortable ride. I dont have to worry about leg room. Im very satisfied with the look, performance, price, safety and much more.
My husband bought a 2016 MDX from Acura Ramsey in Ramsey, NJ on June 27, 2015. One week after that he started having problems with the car. On Saturday we were out to dinner the car started giving weird noises and it said transmission problems. On Monday I tried to take the car to the dealer but all of a sudden the car stopped on RT 17. We had to tow the car to the dealer. When I was at the service I asked them what would happen with the car and they told me to talk to the sales manager Chuck **. When I went to his office he did not even told me to come in and I had to talk to him standing by the door. Actually first response I got from him was There is nothing to talk about. Go to the service and wait for your car. I asked him nicely what the procedure because it was a major problem with transmission. He again told to get out of his office and go to the service department and wait for the car. I did not understand why he was so mean and refused to talk to me and I asked him but he got worse. He kept saying Obviously you do not understand me again and again. I reminded him that I may not be a native speaker but I perfectly understand English and I am a US Citizen and I have the right to know what the procedure but he again treated me like an immigrant who did not understand anything. Unfortunately he was getting worse every time I opened my mouth. I did not understand why he was so rude and mean and why he was discriminating me saying that I did not understand him. I also have an MDX that I have bought from the same dealer in 2011 and I have been going to the same service since then. I have never ever been insulted and discriminated like this before. Actually I have never been treated like this in my life before. Brand new car stopped on a highway. I was totally traumatized and shocked. I did not know what to do. Instead of saying sorry he kept insulted me. He never ever not even once said he was sorry. I was so upset that I was shivering and crying but he seriously did not care about what happened or how I felt because of a car that we paid $60,000. This has been one of the worst days and treatment in my life. I like my car but I think Acura has the worst customer service and they do not think about doing anything about it since my husband also complaint about him via email a week ago and nobody responded his emails. I hope they will do something to improve their customer service and they do not hire these kind of people who do not know how to treat customer who has already bought two SUVs from them.
I bought my 2005 Acura MDX 1 month ago and the transmission went out while I was driving down the road. The car only has 123,000 miles on it!
The Honda Acura had many models including SUVs or sedans. I have an SUV car and it is very convenient for the snow. It handles snowstorms pretty well and is able to get up the hills. The car looks luxurious and has an expensive feel to it. Definitely cheaper than the Lexus or BMW but has many similar car features. The additional higher end features are included in this car. It has many advanced features and upgrades including the sound system, sunroof, Bluetooth accessibility, roof rack, heated seats, GPS, parking cameras in the front and the back. This car seats 5 people including the driver which is perfect for a regular sized family. It is good for vacationing and there is a good amount of leg room when seated fully and no one is really cramped or smushed together.
We knew pretty much what we were getting by the prior research we did. Good looking vehicle but very serviceable. Load with features without having to pay a lot more to upgrade to those features. The standard package was enough for us. There were choices within the choices so it was easy to get what we wanted. Found there were things to choose from that we didnt know existed. They were able to please both my wife and myself. We are a family of three; so room is never an issue. We would be comfortable with more passengers in the car. Plenty of space in the front and back. Storage is plenty as well.
It is very reliable, holds the road well, they run forever and ever. Its very comfy to drive or ride in, and it has all the options I like. I have had several different cars through the years (drove several types through my job as a repo agent), but as far as dependable, good gas mileage and feeling safe driving the Acura is honestly one of my favorites. If you maintain them they will run forever. My last Acura had 247, *** miles on it when I got rid of it and the young lady that now owns it is still driving it around...
Acura RL is very reliable and comfortable. Great performance and great car for a long trip. Have 155k miles on it with no serious problems. The SH-AWD with torque vectoring make it ultra stable on snowy roads.
I have a 2016 RDX. Great car. Drives well. Nice features. But really awful tech that reminds me almost every day that Acura has not been able to fix the multiple IT problems in over a year. Bluetooth will not connect correctly. Car will attempt to make calls (to my phone) intermittently. Goes to mute when all screens and audio become non-functional... Overall, I would choose a different brand as IT is so integral to the function of a car now, and Acura has completely failed in my case.
I drive an Acura MDX 2016, great car, and we are a family of Acura obsession. I met with an accident the first week of August 2021 and today it is December 9th, 2021. My car is at the body shop to date since Acura failed to supply the parts for repair (every time the date gets pushed for another month). I have called Acura customer support asking to speak to a supervisor for the past four months. Every time, I was told they were too busy or unavailable (are they unavailable or cowardly behavior by refusing the answer escalated concerns?). Requested for a follow-up phone call NOT an email. However, all I received was scripted generic mail for every call I made. Finally, today spoke to the supervisor, explained all the detail and all I hear is sorry. Now, I have paid over $9000 on rental. The only solution I have received is sorry from Acura. I would refer to Acuras supervisor’s customer service as a meaning of worst customer experience in the dictionary.
My car was making noise once it ran for a while, went to two different dealers both said this is how Acura is made. I have an Acura 2014 MDX. When the dealer took my car to do service and gave me a temporary MDX 2014, that car made no noise, it was only my car. They did not know what it was and claimed it was normal. It is very annoying.
Very displeased for how Acura does not stand by their product and does not value a repeating customer. I have purchased 4 Acuras in the last 10 years and am sad to say I will not purchase another. In 2010 I bought a 2009 Acura TL and here recently in the past year I have had issues with the rubber seals around all the windows, windshield and around all moldings on the outside of the car. I have explained to the dealership and a customer care manager at Acura Care services what my issues are and that my car is garage kept away from all natural elements. The window moldings have completely melted away leaving an inch gap between the door frame and window on all doors which allows water to fall freely within the door. Also cold/hot air flows into the car due to this so having the air turned on high in either condition is a must. When Acura Care was contacted and a case was opened I was advised due to the cars age they will not help at all. I asked if the pictures that were taken at the dealership were looked at. They replied that no pictures were seen or sent by dealership but the decision has been made. They will not be able to do anything for me. I again said that it isnt like I have been tampering with the seals or weather stripping but it is literally melting away to the touch and flying off the car as I am driving, again no concern was shown by the Acura Care Case Manager. Again I have purchased 4 Acura cars but WILL NOT BE DOING SO AGAIN EVER. VERY DISSATISFIED AND SAD TO KNOW THAT ACURA DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! I have a 98 Ford F-150 that stays in the TEXAS heat 365 days of the year and have never experienced this or anything near this on it. Yes it is a 09 but just barely has over 100k miles on it and is garage kept. Product is faulty and ACURA knows that is why they dont stand by their product or value true customers.
Do not try to purchase a vehicle from this Dealership…. Very shady, unethical business practices!!!! I came in to purchase a vehicle for my daughter. Found her dream vehicle, took it for a test drive, made an offer on it, they accepted the offer, gave them a down payment of $1000, as per their request, received a fully executed purchase agreement signed off by David ** (Finance Mgr). My daughter wanted to finance it on her own in which they tried to get for her. After a few days I said forget it. I will just pay cash for the vehicle. I asked if I could come pick on Friday. They pushed me off until Monday. When I called on Monday they said, Let’s try for Tuesday. On Tuesday I received a call from the salesperson, who stated, oops they sold the vehicle to somebody else. How can they sell the vehicle to somebody else when I had a purchase agreement, money down on it…I immediately called the general manager, John ** and left several voicemail and written messages for him, three days in a row… Not even a courtesy call back. They still have my $1000 downpayment… Also they tried to sell me a car with 15,000 more miles on it in horrible condition, different color... Saying it would be an even trade. Not even close. Stay as far away from this place as you can. There are other reputable Acura dealers that are so much more professional and ethical and do the right things for their customers. I will be putting in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as also writing a letter to the corporate office of Acura/Honda to express my opinion and our Attorney may be getting involved to seek legal recourse… I do not understand how in this day and age something like this could have happened… Nobody had an excuse for it. They just said the vehicle was sold…. Stay away!!!
We have owned many vehicles and we decided to give Acura a try mainly because we liked the body style and Hondas reliability. Worst mistake we have made in a long time let alone a very costly one! The car performs alright but the $5000.00 upgrade for the technology package is a sad story. The dealership along with tech experts there can barely explain its functions. Been there several times after reading the limited information in the manual and each time it takes three of these geniuses to solve one issue. They say to play with it but if trained personnel from HONDA CANT do it how is the consumer supposed to? Very unfriendly compared to other makers. Dont make our same mistake.
I have driven Honda/Acura since 1993 mostly with success until this last Acura. Because of social media, Acura service departments and other local owners as well as my own experience I know my current model of TL had many issues. I unfortunately had several of the models issue GPS disc drive, splitting of the dashboard, Power Steering leaks all of which can be verified by a simple google search. Here is the issue from the social media. They said contact Acura customer representative. The answer I received is that dashboards crack; but out of good faith we will fix yours for a $1000 which they claim is 50% of the cost. First, dashboards just do not crack. I do live in the south but I park in garages most of the time out of the sun. Second I had a recall on the Power Steering hose. They said it is fixed but I get a leak that I must fix. Confuses you? Yes, me too! They bottom line is there is no such thing as Acura customer support. They are rude and only out to help dealerships.
Upon purchasing my 2015 Acura TLX, I was not told that Acura and Apple iPhones do not play nice with each other. At the time I had an iPhone 5S and now have an iPhone 8 and neither work with my cars hands-free dialing. I have carefully entered contact names and voice tags into my speed dial list but when I speak the name John **, up comes a list of names starting with Mary **. Acura offers no fix. Quite the deal from a so-called luxury care.
Its high class. Not a lot of work needs to be done because of the quality of the car itself. It offers Integra which I had myself. Then you have the sort ILX and MDX. Its a lot of sporty type cars with smaller engines to save games. It has different models. For example the base model is like an normal car, maybe power windows and a standard stereo. Then you have the different packages to go along with the car. It goes like any other car that a person would buy. Basic and then upper class and then the middle affordable one. It depends what you can buy on your budget. But if you are looking for space these cars are probably not the ones you are looking for. Maybe good for two or four people. But if you are looking to have more than four, dont even think about adding another person inside.
In November 2018, we purchased a used certified 2018 Acura MDX Advanced (w/ 6K miles). This beautiful MDX was equipped with every bell and whistle imaginable. From November 2018 to May 2019, this vehicle performed perfectly. This is until last week when I took it in for required maintenance, a recall fix and a software update. Now, every time I stop at a traffic light or stop sign, the idle engine stop/start feature kicks in and its ANNOYING as hell. At a stop, you feel the engine idle down and then when I press the accelerator the engine does a hard restart. I thought something serious was wrong with the car. This is NOT a subtle stop and restart, its very pronounced and noticeable. I immediately complained to the dealership service manager. They said it was performing as expected. Furthermore, they instructed me to push the activation button to turn feature on and off each time I drive it. I never had to do this before last week. In fact, I told him that when I test drove this MDX, I would have been hesitant to purchase as this feels like an irregularity with the car. I asked them to reverse the software update and they would not. IMO, if this had been occurring in the 7 months prior, then it was discreet and barely noticeable; not now!! I am just sick about this. Warning to others... Google this issue because there are many complaints about it. How can this be economical saving me gas money... Always restarting the vehicle? I am going to wear out the electronic starter. I am so angry.
I had 2 issues with my 2010 CPO Acura ZDX Advance. The first was the fogging of the headlights within the warranty and the second was a gapping of the front fender liner from the cars body, resulting in a noticeable and unsightly gap. Both matters were first reported to my local dealer who advised that both matters were caused by environmental conditions, and therefore not covered under warranty. An Acura service bulletin acknowledges the fender well issue as being caused by heat, and the fix is replacement of the liner at over $350. I quickly advised Acura that I operate my vehicle IN THE ENVIRONMENT! While I purchased this vehicle used, it was a dealer car that spent its previous life on the lot in sunny California, the very climate it was designed in. After a trip to the dealership and a couple weeks back and forth with Corporate Acura, during which I advised them of each of the of the 5 Honda/Acura vehicles I had owned, they simply refused to offer any assistance, hiding behind their ridiculous environment position. CPO vehicles are sought precisely for the warranty, which has proven to be of less value than the paper on which it was written.I have been a huge Acura/Honda fan over the past 27 years, but I clearly have higher expectations than Acura has in their own products. The ZDX was originally touted as their flagship vehicle, which clearly should be able to stand up to usual weather, at least within the warranty period! To fail in that regard is simply a failure of materials and a failure that is unrelated to the customers use of the product. In the end, the local dealership (from where I did not buy the car) offered to provide the labor for buffing the headlights when I paid for the $30 kit, which I did. Bottom line: CORPORATE ACURA DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY....BUYER BEWARE!
We had leased our Acura MDX through a local Acura dealer. The experience was fair. The showroom tries to portray the brand as a true luxury car, but most salesmen seems fast-paced, with the typical gimmicky talk and cheap suits. The Service was even worse. Anytime the car would require scheduled maintenance, they always tried to upsell us on things like Automatic Transmission fluid change, stating it was very dirty (after only 8,000 miles?), despite the fact that the maintenance schedule doesnt require this fluid change until 20,000-40,000 miles. Filter changes are also their favorite, stating that theyre very dirty and its bad for the vehicle.I never got the impression that the Acura brand is synonymous with luxury, unfortunately. Just a dressed-up Honda, and this trickles down all the way to how they sell and service these vehicles. The car itself has a few, very annoying issues. For one, the front windows are extremely loose, and when opened even slightly, rattle beyond belief. Acura Service techs state this is how theyre designed, and that its normal. It pretty much renders driving around with windows lowered impossible, and from the sound of it, Acura owners have gotten used to it. After almost 3 years, were still struggling with getting used to it.The infotainment is brutally slow. If you click on Settings or any other option, it often takes 2-3 seconds for the screen to refresh and show the desired information. Having rented a BMW X5, or even a Volkswagen Touareg, the computing power of their infotainment systems is much more up-to-date and intuitive. The interface design on the infotainment touchscreen buttons is also very primitive. Like something youd find a first-grade graphic design student do. Certainly not the luxury experience theyre selling.Overall, the exterior is neat, slim, with touches of chrome here and there. The interior is also nicely done. I am surprised as to why the third-row seats do not have A/C vents (like the Honda Pilot, which sells for considerably less does). The power liftgate has failed us more than once, and the remote engine starter oftentimes just stops working, requiring me to manually disconnect the battery to reset everything. Ive given-up taking the car to the dealer for every little nuance. Driving-wise, the car is light and responds well to steering input. Power is adequate, and AWD system performs remarkably well. Despite all of this, we wont be leasing another Acura again. We feel that too many corners have been cut, and not enough attention to detail has been paid to areas that really need it to qualify this vehicle as a luxury one.
Acura has a few varieties but I only like a couple. I like the EX and LX models. I also like the 95 body style but it is very hard to find. It is my dream style of car. The features are good. The Sirius radio is a plus. Also the ability to see while backing up comes in handy on long nights. I love the interior because it is easy to keep clean and keep up the blue tooth connect is also a plus. The upgrades are cool. The capacity is well suited for the family of 4 that I have. The trunk space is actually bigger than it looks from the outside. It is very convenient on long trips to Texas and other places.
I test drove the Sedan RLX and TLX which both have four doors, the Coupe ILX, two doors, the SUV MDX and the RDX. All of the vehicles were a very smooth drive and gas efficient. The ILX which is the compact sport car was a little small and the RLX was larger, but the TLX is the largest sedan and had quite a bit of room to maneuver in. The RDX SUV had more room than the MDX SUV, but all comparable to their competitors. You can upgrade seats, the navigation system and display. You can also upgrade the wheels with packages that are premium and a-spec. The ELS sound system is also an upgrade too.
Acura RLX - DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!! I bought the car because it says it gets 20/24/30. I get 15/19/25. Acura Relations - LOSERS - says sorry there are many factors in what your car gets. I put premium in it; drive the speed limit, have an empty car yet it gets 5 mpg less. I will NEVER buy an Acura again. Unfortunately I am in a three-year lease or I would get rid of it. ACURA HAS LOUSY CUSTOMER RELATIONS - dont buy this car or any Acura for that matter.
