BMW Confirms The M4 Weve Been Waiting For
Posted On: January 13, 2022

This has been spotted more than once by our spy photographers. We always suspected it was coming but BMW had yet to confirm it. Until now. The BMW M4 CSL is expected to make its first appearance sometime later this year following the E46 M3 CSL's 13-year market absence. Back then, the 4 Series didn't exist. The return of this lightweight and more powerful coupe is a pretty big deal and the German automaker has just very quietly acknowledged it. Hidden deep inside its end-of-year sales figures press release is the following: "an exclusive special-edition model based on the new BMW M4 Coupe" is on the way. Now, this is not a direct acknowledgment of the M4 CSL's existence but now-former BMW M boss Markus Flasch stated not long ago that the model is an "open secret." That's good enough for us. Specific details are still being kept under wraps but it's been strongly hinted the M4 CSL's rear seats will be removed to help reduce excess weight. Flasch also revealed a "triple-digit range" weight loss range is being targeted. Figure at least 220 or so pounds will be shaved away. Additional creature comforts set to be removed include electric seats and parking sensors. A more powerful version of the M4's 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine will be found under the hood. Expect around 540-550 horsepower. However, sources indicate a six-speed manual gearbox is not in the mix. Instead, the M4 CSL will receive the eight-speed automatic transmission only though power will be routed to the rear wheels only. The xDrive all-wheel drive system will not be offered. Special forged wheels, unique badging, and a numbered plaque are also said to be on hand. Another recent report claims this special M4 could be a special 50th-anniversary model to celebrate the establishment of the M division. If so, it'd be based on the M4 CSL but with one major difference: a six-speed manual. Production, as expected, will be quite limited. Only 1,000 examples are planned for global distribution. There's a decent chance a majority will be sent to the US. Pricing also remains unknown but expect the M4 CSL to cost no less than $100,000.

Bmw x5 bought new for over $90,000. It has only done 78,000 miles and the car just died whilst I driving on the motorway. I had it taken to BMW SPIRE in London. 2 days later they emailed me saying I have to pay them 16,000 ($20,000) to repair it because the timing chain had gone. I had the car serviced by them one week before and they said nothing about it. No warnings. Nothing. It has a full service history with BMW SPIRE. The Bmw cars are not fit for purpose.

I owned a 2000 BMW 323ci coupe that I purchased back in 2004. The car had only 13,000 miles on it and was optioned with every accessory available. I purchased the car from a private seller for $21,000 which I though was a steal since the car cost $43,000 new. The car looked flawless and drove as new; it still smelled new inside. I struck a deal and the BMW was mine. I felt as a BMW owner that was above most people now on the road and I changed my driving style to prove that I was now someone to be very envious of because I was to be respected driving a BMW. That claim to fame ended a few months later when the transmission failed on my BMW as I was shifting from reverse to drive. I couldnt believe it! How could this happen to a car with only 20,000 miles on it?!?! And a BMW for that matter. The cost to replace the transmission was $6,000!!!! That stung badly! In the coming years I also experienced very costly repairs ranging from HVAC issues, electrical problems, fuel issues, power steering failure, brake problems, a fractured subframe, cooling problems, Harman Kondom speakers rattling the interior when playing heavy bass music, broken and leaky sunroof, interior trim falling off, squeaks and rattles in seats and dashboard, popping steering wheel, cruise control failure, HID headlight burnout and I rarely drove in the dark, leaky trunk, power window motors failing, front turn signal housings getting wet inside and causing shorts. The cost of repairs on this hunk of junk amounted to over 15,000 dollars!!!!!!! All on a car with less than 100,000 miles! How horrible is that?! I had to sell my precious BMW for a mere $4,000 in 2009. What a piece of junk! Now I know why the original owner sold this crappy car and was driving a new Lexus sedan. I ended up buying a used 2006 Honda Civic Si that has been 100% trouble free and now has 183,000 miles on it. Im still reeling from my horrible BMW experience! I realize now that I was a pretentious fool thinking that driving a BMW was going to make me noticed and important on the road. Boy, was I wrong! DO NOT BUY A BMW!!!

I purchased a brand new 2007 BMW 328I in October of 2006. After 6 years of owning that car, I am completely swearing off of BMW for life. Most recently, the steering lock on the car malfunctioned. A few months back, it was an engine overheating problem that caused my engine to completely lose all power in the middle of a busy intersection. Over the years, there were countless incidences of the vehicle losing power. Put all that together with a ride that is hardly ever smooth, lots of jerkiness and delays in acceleration. I contacted BMW to complain about the most recent issue - not because the issue itself, but because of my level of dissatisfaction that a brand as reputable and as costly as BMW would present me with this many issues on a 6-year old car. It pains me to have to say goodbye to a car that is as attractive as the BMW model, but I refuse to spend my hard-earned money with a dishonorable company on a car that under-performs.

Several months ago BMW sent me a letter to bring my car in to be service for a recalls and/or updates. They returned my car stating they would contact me later to finish the job after a part they needed came in. A few months later they called me to bring my car back in. A week later, I received a call from a service department person saying they broke the engine coil off my car and will have to take the whole engine out now. Im nervous because my car was driving fine before I got the letter and the call to bring my car back in to BMW. The guy who kept communicating with me said hes going on vacation for a week but someone else he named would be taking care of things. No one contacted me about my car. When he returned from vacation he called. He said he was back and they are waiting on a part and when it come in they will pull my engine out.I asked, Will it driving like it was when I bought it in? He replied, It should be better. Im knowing, nothing was wrong with my car. I didnt even know why or what needed updating. He said the mechanic is going on vacation now for a week. A week later he called saying, Im just calling to keep you informed and we have another car engine on the table right now and as soon as we finish with it, were going to put yours on it. My husband is in from Florida and hes asking me how do a car going in for updates end up having the engine pulled out of it? He following up saying, Once they pull your engine it will never drive the same again. Another friend whom is a Director at a college stated they would have to give me a warranty stating if anything happens to my engine they will fix it no matter what the problem is or give me a new car. Im more scared and upset. The following week the service person call me again on Friday saying, Well we finally got your car in and getting ready to work on it and you should have it back by Tuesday or Wednesday. So far they have had my car a month so I drove to BMW when they were closed on that Sunday and across the street from them sit my car with a small plate hanging off the front of it by a wire and parked crooked. Now, Im upset and all trust of the one keeping me informed is all out the window. I called and left him a message about me seeing my car on the other lot. He called back saying they are working on it now and it should be ready by the end of the day. I said to him, Im concerned about my car sitting for weeks and whether it will run right. He told me they ensure whatever parts they put on it for two years. I didnt feel that was good enough.I got a call from him later saying, Your car is ready but in all honesty I just dont feel right giving you back your car without the mechanic driving it for the whole weekend and hes getting ready to put some miles on your car. I said, Well have him drive it on the highway to make sure its driving ok and he said he will. Maybe the mechanic is driving it out of town for the 4th of July.My car is a fully loaded pearl color 750Li xDrive Super Sport Twin Turbo Engine, which I made a payment on in June as it sat on BMW lot due to their mistake. They tried to put me in a 3-Series. I wouldnt take it so they put me in a 5-Series with Sam Swope courtesy vehicle in big bold letters across the back window and had me return it because they sold it, they said. I had it for over three weeks. They put me in a black 5-Series afterwards that is more up to date and I still have it. Basically, BMW has had my car for about 6 weeks and the mechanic still have it at his house right now somewhere.

I have a 2008 BMW 328i which I purchased new and I purchased an extended warranty as well. I have multiple vehicles so I dont drive my vehicle often. The vehicle currently has around 14,000 miles on it. I took the vehicle in yesterday because it appeared there was a problem with the battery. My husband received a phone call today from BMW in Elk Grove, advising that the battery needs to be replaced and is not covered under the warranty because I dont drive it enough (driver error). The price of a new battery is $453 (he claims this is with a 15% discount) and the battery must be purchased from a BMW dealership because it could create a problem for the computer if purchased from an auto parts store. The BMW representative stated that it would have been covered had it been a defective battery, but the computer states that I dont drive it enough. He stated that I will need to keep it on a trickle charger when not in use. I have kept up on all of my maintenances and services, which were completed at BMW and not once did a BMW representative advise me that I could be running into a problem with the battery because of my low mileage. At this point I am just livid that I have babied my vehicle. I purchased an extended warranty and I have to come out of pocket $453. At this point I have no choice but to pay the $453; however, I feel that this should have been covered by the warranty and not been viewed as operator error.

In a period of last 12 months, my 2010 BMW X5 has had the following failures, which leads me to believe either that BMW has no quality in their products or this SUV is just a lemon. 1. Check Engine Light - Radiator replaced in Jan 2014. 2. Car slows down in the middle of the road and stops - Fuel pump bushings replaced in Aug 2014. 3. AC stops working - AC leak Schraeder valve- Aug 14 4. Thrust rod replaced - Aug 14 5. Check engine light on - Oil leak from Oil Filter Housing - Nov 146. High pitched noise from the hood - Crank Case Vent system - Dec 14Called BMW for the last problem today and they just washed their hands off. Leads me to believe that they dont stand behind their product. Buyers beware. Do your research before you buy. There is certainly no driving experience here. It is the fear of your car stalling at any time.

Cut and dry I had nothing but nightmares with my Bmw truck 2006 x5. It was my 3rd BMW and my last brought to Hassel Bmw to service every 3-5 months with higher price tags fuel pumps, tires, halo lights had shorts all the times, coolant light, check engine light. I needed a cyclone separator which cost out of pocket 1800 for just that issue. One time hassel gave me a bill total was 6k. I laughed like who yall think paying for that then I got smart. Thank God it was paid for so I traded my bmw and that was 40k when I first brought it only got 7k blue book trade in. I was hurt but got rid of it for a 2012 Toyota Camry. Best move I ever made. Word to the wise never buy pre owned bmw from anywhere. I would tell yall about the nightmares with my 330i and x3 but I have a life and will be typing till next year. Moral of story buy bmw brand new, never pre-owned.

In 2014 I decided I wanted to drive the ultimate driving machine. What a mistake. I asked my cousin who works at a dealership to locate something for me. In June 2014 I purchased my 2011 BMW 328i xdrive SULEV with 29k. I purchased extended warranty and Gap insurance for slightly over $30,000. I realized I overpaid but I was okay with it because I really wanted this vehicle. A few months into it my car began shaking violently and had a very rough idle. I had to replace spark plugs and coils. A few months after that it started having electrical problems. The car would turn off the heat, ac, radio, and lights. I had to replace an electrical module at 45k. I contacted BMW and they offered to pay 95%. I was satisfied until another few months went by and my car kept stalling, launching itself into traffic, shutting off and turning back on while I was on the highway, and wouldnt keep momentum. Turns out the fuel line broke off in my tank and I needed to replace the fuel tank at 50k. I called BMW again and they offered to replace it with only $250 out of my pocket... At this point I decided this car is a nightmare and I wanted out. Too upside down to replace it I decided Ive replaced enough and it should be good to go for a few years. NOW its idling rough again, hesitating to move and shaking violently once again. BMW offered me a $1,000 loyalty to trade out but dealerships are only offering $15,000 and I owe $26,000. For the age and mileage of this vehicle I should not have had it in the shop more than 5 times for serious maintenance. This car is a nightmare!!!! I would NEVER recommend BMW to friends or family members unless they dont mind having it in the shop more than on the road. Between electrical issues, faulty fuel pump/fuel line, coils, and an obnoxious ticking sound I have more of a headache than an ultimate driving machine. Its more like the ultimate pain in the butt. The cigarette lighter has never worked so I cannot plug in a GPS. When I have my ipod or Pandora playing the radio will randomly change the song or shut my music off and default to the radio. It also gets so hot that the radio stops working and says HIGH TEMP. It overheats and wont play music and turns off the AC or the heat randomly. For the price of these vehicles new and pre-owned they should not have THIS many issues. I have less than 65k on it and it constantly fails me. BMW is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If youre considering a luxury brand try Lexus or Infiniti. BMWs are a waste of money!!

I have owned several cars, and in the modern Era, the E60 535i started off with tons of trouble, along with my X6M. My E85 Z4 was an amazing car, even if it was not a drivers car with the electronic steering, but I loved it. I got the 535i as a daily driver. Water pumps (2), fuel pumps (2), disintegrating chargepipe, multiple injector replacements (2x had all of them replaced), the mystery 30ff error nobody can fix, the seat mat/airbag issue, the wastegate rattle and it would not be a BMW without a leaky valve cover gasket. There was always something wrong. So I bought an X6M a few months ago. Airbag recall, battery recall, injector recall... I have owned E30s, E9, E38, E39, E85 and an E31. Mostly trouble-free cars, then came the turbos and BMWs total inability to make a good engine that does not start causing issues, interiors that look dated and recalls that keep it parked more than I drive it. Even the driving experience has gone to hell.

I own a BMW 6 series. I have it in the shop right now with the convertible roof sensor issue. I have had this fixed 2x before. I had it scheduled in a different state a month ago but the BMW dealership said I had to get it fixed at the dealer that originally did the work. So I have brought it to that state and it is now a month later and my warranty expired the day before my appointment. I wrote my first review a week ago telling you guys how my 2009 BMW x6, with 39,000 miles on it, stopped one day on the road and lost the power while the engine light was on. The estimate to fix the problem was $3,000, plus tax. I called BMW North America asking them for help, but they left me with nothing. After waiting for any of their response for the whole week, I just found out that they will not cover it because I bought this car one year ago! How is that possible??? The car has only 39,000 miles on it, and my warranty expired two months ago!!!I cannot believe how a big prestigious company treats their customers. Looks like its not worth to pay so much money for the cars that have so many major problems!!! I have a very bad experience with BMW, and Im very disappointed with how BMW treats their customers. Can someone please help me? Does anyone know the contact info to the main office in Germany??? What can I do now??? I feel that this is so not fair that I have to pay already big money for the car that has such a low mileage when its warranty expired only two months ago, when originally, the manufacturers warranty is up to $50,000. Very, very sad and disappointed...

E46 BMW M3 - I am having nightmares with my M3, SMG gear box. The fault icon came on. I took the car to a BMW dealership. They kept it for 2 weeks, said the clutch was contaminated and that air was in the hydraulic system. It was fixed at a cost of 3800+. I collected the car, and it broke down the same evening, with the same complaint after driving about 20 miles. A call was placed to the dealership, who informed me that I would have to get it back to their garage on my own, as they do not do recovery. I had just spent 3800+ with this dealership. I got the car there and they said that they found air in the hydraulic system. It was bled, road tested and returned after 3 days. The M3 broke down again (and is presently at the dealership), after driving 3000 miles, with the same problem with the SMG box. The dealership is saying that its the same symptom, but different problem. They are now saying that its the hydraulic pump. I am now facing an additional bill of 2800. My questions are: 1. Whats the life span of an M3 hydraulic pump? 2. Is there an inherent fault with the BMW M3 SMG gear box? 3. Have others experience the same problems with BMW SMG boxes? 4. Is it true, that BMW only guarantee a life span of 12 yrs for the M3?5. How can I make a claim against BMW for selling a defect ultimate machine?

To begin with, I have on six BMWs in my life. I purchased a brand-new 428i BMW from Flow BMW in Winston Salem, North Carolina. I have had the car for six months and it had 4000 miles on it. I am a single person and have only had three people in my passenger seat since owning the car. The leather started wearing terribly especially on the side bolster. I took it to the service department, as I was told to do, and spoke with the warranty guy. He informed me that BMW does not cover their leather under any kind of warranty. I calmly explained to him that only three people have been in the passenger seat and that the driver seat, which I get in and out of numerous times on a daily basis, was in perfect condition. His response was it only takes one time for something to happen! This really upset me especially him knowing that I have been such a loyal customer and took such excellent care of my vehicles. Not to mention that I have spent thousands of dollars at that dealership and my family has also. So, there I was with a six month old car and torn leather in the passenger seat. Oh I was not a happy camper. After having read all of these complaints about BMW my question is has their quality started to fail? And why do they get such condescending people to work at their dealerships? He couldve been much nicer to me instead of treating me like a second-class citizen. I know for a fact that other car companies that are not considered a luxury car manufacturer warranty their stitching and leather, so it leaves one to wonder. I started to take this higher to BMW USA, but I knew I was fighting a losing battle. I suppose it is what it is but Im still very unhappy!

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

BMW Financial is irresponsible and incompetent in managing consumer accounts. I had an account with BMW and made payments through Moneygram over a period of four months. Moneygram was not informed BMW was no longer using their services, even though each payment appeared to be received by BMW Financial. My car broke down. I took it to the dealer and it was repossessed for non payment, even though I had receipts indicating payments had been made. As a result, I was stranded in another state with a child. And they wouldnt accept the payments, even though cash was offered to immediately cover the payments they purportedly didnt receive. I will never buy another BMW or deal with their financial services, which appear to be managed by over zealous teens. They have no future other than pretending to have authority over people who drive cars they otherwise probably couldnt afford.

It is not a trustworthy car at all. It is not a trustworthy car at all - put me in a near-death situation. I just about avoided a major accident due to a manufacturing fault with timing chain which should last for 200,000 miles (BMWs claim) and my car has only done less than 68000 miles. This was brought to the attention of BMW before the incident but they are trying to hide behind corporate write-right.It is generally accepted that, for all cars, timing chain should last for the lifetime of the engine. This is a known issue associated with the N42/N43 engine (fitted in models between 2007 to 2011 which my 3 series is from). Even though timing chains are supposed to last a lifetime, clearly this seems to be well known issue with BMW engines and they are well aware of it. We were not aware of it until it was brought to our attention by an external mechanic after taking the car to their garage due to some warning lights. Please note we had taken this to a BMW approved service centre before taking it to an external garage and this was not diagnosed property by BMW approved mechanics (Cooper BMW Cobham to be precise).I informed BMW directly about this issue and also highlighted the fact that the brakes were becoming stiff. They ignored this to a point where the brakes got extremely stiff and nonworkable, suddenly on my way to home with my 5 year old child. Realising this, somehow with all my strength pulled the car to a nearby shopping place, driving crazily. The recovery man checked the car and found the brakes to be so stiff. He asked me, Do you know you would have ended up in a tragic accident, you are very lucky! After the incident, I am still stressed with very little sleep at night. I could not believe that my son and I narrowly escaped a tragic accident. It is unfortunate that neither BMW or the Cooper Cobham, warned me of the health and safety risks involved despite bringing this issue to their attention. They dragged things in the name of diagnosis to be carried out. As this was a known fault, they should have straightway made arrangements for my car to be checked and remedied at their expense. This also reminded me of BMWs electrical failure issue which lead to a fatality and made a lot of press (Narayan Gurung case). In this case, BMW was highly criticised for not recalling cars and putting customers lives at risk. It is saddening to know that these big business minded and money motivated people care so less about precious lives of people. I am not allowed to link the article here but if you google Narayan Gurung road death you will find many articles including reporting on Court criticising BMW.I have taken this matter further with BMW. Even after letting them know of the nearly death accident, they are ignoring it and dragging things in the name of diagnosis. The car is with the garage since Thursday and to date they have not carried out any diagnosis. It is extremely unfortunate that BMW is ignoring such a serious matter. There are more to this story including some crucial evidences, which I am keeping hold of at the moment as I may have to take the matter legally if BMW continues to ignore me despite the seriousness of the matter. But if you are in similar situation, please get in touch as I am happy to share those with you. I am not a car savvy but I have done a lot of research after I found out about manufacturing fault with my car which I use to meet my day to day needs. I am uploading this here so that people are aware of this and am pretty sure there are other BMW users in similar or same situation. I am a person who stand for justice and I am not going to leave it like this. I will keep you all updated of BMWs response to this issue and whether they resolve this at their cost.

There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.

I purchased a brand new 528 BMW and the battery went dead in less than 5,000 miles. And the dealer refuse to replace it under the warranty. They make me pay for it. And now it made me upset even more. Because the battery dead again in 2 1/2 yrs later. But this time they said I have a shortage in the wires or whatever and it costs me over a $1000.00. At this point, I just gonna sell that piece of **. And never buy another BMW. I believe Ive been ripped off by BMW or the dealership.

I purchased a Certified 328i from Keeler BMW in Schenectady 10/15. The car had 29,000 miles on it when I purchased. Certified means that the car should be covered for most issues until it reaches either 100k or 3/12/19. My engine blew within 9 months of owning the car. BMW first tried telling me that they werent sure this was going to be covered. After threatening to sue, a new engine was ordered from overseas and covered. Shortly after, there was a recall and the oil line had to be replaced. I was told this would take 4 hours. I waited for over 8 hrs. Only 2-3 months later I found over an inch of water in the back of the car which soaked through the floor mats and through the carpet. The door seals broke. Yet another fight with BMW because they first claimed that this happens and that the door seals werent covered. They eventually covered them but never bothered addressing the fact that the carpets were soaked for weeks while I waited for an appointment to get the seals fixed. One would think that they would dry and professionally clean the carpets to rid of mold and mildew. They didnt bother, so now theres a lovely smell of mildew throughout my car. This brings me to one of the rear doors not opening for months due to the lock not working. I can only assume this is because water was running through the door panel when the seals werent working. Another fix. Theres a short in the passenger seats sensor. I have to keep the seat belt buckled when the seat is empty just so the annoying beeping will stop. I noted this as one of the items to be taken care of when I dropped the car off to have the door seals replaced. The dealership neglected to fix it. The bluetooth doesnt work. I have to have my phone plugged in, it wont pickup otherwise. As of todays date, 07/31/2017, my car has 70,000 miles on it with coverage thats supposed to extend up to 100,000 miles. The car sounds like a go kart when I start it and turn it off. Ive contacted BMW several times asking what they will do in terms of a tradein. Im tired of having this car serviced and out of commission for days, at times, weeks. I use my car for my business. There are certain standards that should be met by BMW considering the consumer is paying for the brand name and customer service that is supposed to be associated along with. If I wanted a car that was going to be in the shop every month, Id buy a 3k beater off of Craigslist. BMW has only offered me $1,500 towards a NEW BMW as a resolution. Completely unreasonable. This car is a LEMON. I would expect the company to recognize this and offer a more reasonable resolution. This is my third BMW. Wheres the customer service? Perhaps at Mercedes.

I have a BMW X5 (2012) which I purchased new, it had an AC problem however that wont be fixed by BMW. Here is my story on the X5. After warranty is done at 50K miles this is where all the troubles start. Thermostat failure a 2500$ repair, Burnt Oil smell, fluid leak repair $2500 in 2016 by a BMW Repair service. Took it to the dealer to see if it would resolve and he replaced the same Oil Gasket leak at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton, CA for roughly $2500 in Aug 2017. Now I take it back to the dealer and ask him about the 2 year warranty and he says it is a different issue and I need to spend another $1500 to get this fixed. There is no end to the excuses for bad repairs but I wanted to call out that my experience with BMW and their repair technicians is so poor that they refuse to accept responsibility or address the issue.

BMW X1 is a wonderful auto. But lease is expensive and living in NYC means that use is limited. This is because of traffic congestion, crazy bike riders and poor driving habits of many motorists. Insurance cost is also too high as is parking. So not economically feasible for such a high priced vehicle. But I love it. Next time may buy Subaru or use on demand car rental services by BMW/Mercedes if they develop here in NYC.

We were new to U.S.A. and the salesman ensured me that their navigation system is the best in the world. When I couldnt find any address, I went back to the salesman to get instructions. However, he couldnt get the car to find the address of its own dealership. Funny eh?So, the salesman took it to service and he told me that they fixed it. Days after, I got the car back and the same thing happened--the navigation system couldnt find the address. I read the work order and the work order said that nothing was done.I took it to the service department and the service manager advised me that BMW has always had issues with the navigation system and the salesman was supposed to disclose this to me. The service manager said that there is nothing he can do. Oh, he did suggest that I buy a Garmin. If I need to keep the lemon, then I should be entitled to a credit of $10,000 for the extra options I had to buy to get the useless navigation system.

Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 750i on 2-14-2015 from Principal Auto Group in San Antonio Texas. This has been a terrible experience. The car had bent rims and would never ride smoothly... they wanted me to pay for a thrust balancing, then they would blame the tires but my independent tire shop confirmed the tires were okay. The first time I had a major problem the car was in the shop for 12 days because they do not have a enough bays. Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later? The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

I leased my BMW 328i - Jan 2013. All the wheels where the brakes are, shows a lot of rust. I went to my dealer Motorwerks of Barrington, IL and the service person/and manager looked at it and said it’s a normal wear & tear, however since I was not satisfied with the answer, so I called BMW of North America Customer service and Rep told me that it can be fixed and is included and is part of my Warranty. And so she conference the line with service manager who instead of servicing this issue accused me that I abused my car with an Acid pour?? Seriously ?? You are talking about selling a 43k worth of piece of ** AND THEN BLAME IT ON TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?? They are not only unprofessional but THUGS who SHY away from their Jobs!!!! However it is so much of shame that such a Reputable Brand like BMW is having these issues and problem with their expensive piece of Junks!!! And are unable to fix em! Can’t wait for my lease to be up and then bye-bye to them. Never going to send my valuable money and time on this Brand Name.

Ive always wanted a BMW. When I chose this car I was not looking to buy a car but I fell in love with the look of this car. Then I took it for a test drive and found that it was such a fun car to drive. I was hooked and it drove like a dream. Its very fast and handles very well. Its also beautiful and comfortable. I loved the color combination with the black exterior and gray interior. It has many airbags and its a very safe car to drive. I also love that it has a GPS in the dash. And I like that I can switch from comfort mode to fast with a touch of a button. I like the backup camera as it comes in very handy too. But I wish I had paid more attention to the back seat as it is very tight. Although, it is comfortable if youre very short. Other than that, I would recommend this car to family and friends. Will also only buy BMW from now on.

Not clear about durability as I have the car only one year, but maneuvering, acceleration, safety mechanisms, etc., are excellent. 228i is a relatively small coupe with rapid acceleration (0 to 60 in seconds), great maneuverability (takes corners sharply and with stability), good safety mechanisms (rear view camera, alarms/reminders for seat belts, emergency brake, parking, etc.). Windows provide good visibility all around though I wish there was a rear window wiper. Has driver & front passenger heater seats, automatic air conditioning and seat settings that driver adjusts to his/her comfort level, etc. Trunk is a good size. Back seat is a bit small if youre tall, otherwise comfortable. Could use a bit more storage space (console, glove compartment and very small compartment next to driver door to lock up keys for glove compartment if valet parked). Remote keyless access. Great car/value for the money. Good support service from BMW.

Replaced fuel pump, water pump, hoses, sensors, lines, injectors, battery, vacuum system, engine cover, engine partitions, you name it and still limping and smoking. RPMs even go down when I give it gas. This X6 as well as my previous one have given me nightmares since 2009. BMW and its authorized service are horrible. They are not reliable! They are dangerous! BMW offered me exceptionally POOR Support for their 1984-91 BMW 524td engine. BMW’s customer support was as though they had never built the engine or even heard of it. Finding parts became a worldwide internet search nightmare, as USA dealers were ZERO assistance. BMW routinely changes part numbers, but apparently leaves no follow-up reference to find the part one seeks. I ended up contacting BMWs CHAIRMAN Harald Kruger with a message that lifted him off his chair. The immediate result from Krugers office was that BMW had found the unobtainable and extinct parts I requested... But at DOUBLE their advertised price. After receiving a recall letter from BMW for the brake vacuum pump (recall campaign no. 10v-446), I took the car to Crevier BMW but was told they didnt have the part. I never heard back from Crevier BMW, and I forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. I had the car towed to the nearest dealer in Irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended that I replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900. The description of the problem included in the recall letter from BMW specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose is the root of the problem. I spoke to Jody ** at BMW and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line and not the pump.I have owned BMW cars for more than 12 years, you would think they would stand behind their product and keep a loyal customer happy. They truly do not care about the customer. They will only take care of the problem if the car is leased and/or under warranty, and even then, theyll put off the work until the car is out of warranty.I have had a new 750Li since 2006. From the beginning, the engine oil light would come on and I would have to take the car in to be topped off. I kept asking why I had to do this so often and they assured me that it was normal for the 750. I had a new 745 before this car and I never had this problem. I didnt worry about it since there was no sign of a leak on my garage floor. Now that the car is out of warranty, they tell me that there is a leak.

Now owning 4 of these cars. I cant even begin to tell you the amount of money I have spent on repairs over the years. So now knowing I have to eat this cost. I am told 30-60 day to even get the part. Called BMW FS to confirm that everything was fine a few days later and was informed that everything was good to go and I could turn in the car. I return the car a few days later to BMW Freehold & that evening I called BMW FS to inform them I dropped off the car and that I had fulfilled all responsibility on my end including paying for mileage overages. At that time, the representative advised I had to pay $300 for a tire that was 3 on the tread since they allow 4 and above. This was complete news to me & I called spoke to manager Asha ** who was the least bit helpful and all she could say was, Sorry, we cannot do anything else. I spoke to another supervisor Erin ** who also had no authority to make any changes & said this is how it is. It would have been nice to been informed of any wear on the tire as I could have replaced it myself and saved $200. I am about to get a new BMW in two weeks but definitely will not get that anymore. I was recently told by BMW service that I should expect $3K to $4K a year in service cost...interesting business model...manufacture a piece of (blank), but make it look really cool and then charge customers an exorbitant amount to repair it. To be fair, I owned a 528i for 8 years before the X5 and never had a problem. Only put oil in it for 8 years - great car.X5...run away...fast.

I am trying to sell this piece of crap that I bought...was in a hurry and fell for sweet-talking seller. Now I discover that it has a branded title with a buy-back history. The vehicle BMW 328i Sedan was apparently bought back by BMW NA and then they did something to the vehicle. The buyer I have located is interested but wants to know what was done to the cat during buy-back and was put back to sale by BMW NA. When I call them, they say they can give service history but not what caused the buy-back nor what was done before they put it back on market. Dealership that bought the car post Buyback nor any others are giving any information.Since buying I have spent close to $5000 for repairs and they are growing by minute. I was surprised and appalled at the apathy to consumer request at BMW NA. Since then I have done lots of research and found BMW is worse than any American mfg. company. American companies connect you to their warranty department and service experts and try to do justice to your request. Not so with BMW. The customer service reps at BMW NA either refused to connect me to higher ups or disconnected me. One rep clearly told me that information is with higher ups and when I requested to connect me, she flatly refused. It is amazing that they seem to have no qualms about this and have been trained to behave this way, that much was clear. Best suggestion to you is to dump this expensive piece of junk and do yourself a favor. Forget dealing with this stupid company or its cars.

I have a 2012 BMW X5 and the rims are always black and dirty. I took it into my local dealer on Dixie Road in Mississauga and was told there is nothing can be done as the brake pads are made to release the black power and the rims will always be nasty. Also I have a Samsung Note Edge phone that I just bought and was also told that it cannot be paired with the bluetooth as BMW doesnt support or have the updated system to make it work. Why pay $90,000 for a vehicle that your phone cannot pair to and have to drive around with filthy rims. Help...

My recommendation is to find another source to finance the purchase/lease of a BMW. Perhaps avoid the product altogether. I assumed a lease, 12 months remaining, in January of 2016. The original account/lessee had prepaid the lease including the applicable sales taxes due the original State of Registration - MA. I registered the vehicle in my home State of Maine where sales taxes on leased vehicles are paid in full upfront upon registration. At that time I informed BMW Financial Services (BMW) that I would be registering the vehicle in ME and therefore sales taxes prepaid and due MA for the remaining term of the lease would no longer apply. I made the argument then that the prepaid balance on the BMW lease account, relative to sales taxes collected for future remittance by BMW to MA, should be refunded to me, the new Lessee of the vehicle. I was told that BMW would stop billing MA sales taxes to the account upon receipt of documentation proving that the vehicle was now registered and titled in Maine. Any balance collected upfront for MA sales taxes and remaining on the account would only be refunded to me at the end of the lease term. As of today, BMW continues to bill me for MA sales taxes even though the vehicle has been registered in ME since January of 2016. I phoned BMW today to revisit this situation; their response was that nothing could be done because the account was originally prepaid. Sales taxes are due monthly on a lease in MA, they continue to bill, collect and pay MA sales taxes because that is how they do it. Sound like BS to you? At best this is an error BMW is unwilling to correct on behalf of a long standing customer with three finance accounts currently active with the Company. At worst it is outright fraud that they are collecting and pocketing taxes that are not due/payable to the State of MA. What is a BMW customer worth over their lifetime? Im not asking for a discount, Im asking to be refunded sales taxes that are being paid twice, once to the original State of MA and now to the Sate of Maine. We are talking about $600 versus over $300,000 in lifetime value of a BMW Customer. BMW is not willing to make an effort to make this right, what does that tell you about their commitment to customer service. They are willing to lose over $300,000 of customer value and avoid correcting a $600 error on behalf of a long standing customer.

In July 2011, I sent an email to the BMW dealer in Cairo complaining about my BMW 525i Chassis Number: CS28301. My BMW was bought in 2007, and only has 120,000 km, but I am already having problems with the radiator and water pump. It is quite frustrating and disappointing on my part because I expected my BMW to last longer. I had the impression that it is built out of high quality materials, and it will never go fault that fast. I have other basic cars; Verna, Tarcel and Vectra, the same age as the BMW and maybe even older with higher mileage (300,000 KM), but they are still in good shape and has not malfunctioned unlike my BMW.My email was promptly answered, and I was told that I have to shoulder the expenses for the repair because my vehicle is already out of warranty since December 17, 2008. I had a BMW AG warranty policy, which was two years unlimited mileage. Mr. Hassan ** apologized for the inconvenience caused, and the time I spent dealing with my car problem. However, he said that the vehicle and their parts, regardless of how well made or maintained, do not have an infinite life span, and eventually replacement costs must be borne by the customer. He added that based on the vehicle age and mileage, they cannot consider the fault as a manufacturing defect.I relied that I will repair the car; I will sell it, and buy a Mercedes or Japanese car. I told them that BMW will lose its customer because its an expensive car, but not a durable car. Finally, I said that I will not recommend BMW to anyone I know.Copies of the emails are available for inspection.

Started with bald tires (VERY BALD, bands showing) at 7K miles. Going through tires every 7K miles. Engine light issues - they blamed the diesel version of the vehicle. Was in the shop for over a month on and off for that issue. Now the car has 25K miles and both brakes needed replacing, front & back. Trunk lid issues, driving alone and light comes on. Light wont go out and lid wont close. What a disappointment.

I have a 2007 BMW 325 that I am trying out for 3 days. I brought this to my mechanic. The automatic transmission has been replaced, plastic parts for power steering pump, passenger side door, which I never opened, has issues, the seals are suspect and the AC does not operate in cold weather to help defrost. My mechanic brought me to this site! After reading the complaints, I am crazy if I buy this Money Mad Machine! I am taking the BMW back and getting a Japanese Lexus or Acura!AC repairs cost more than the car, plastic pump parts and a consumer service that gives a ** less? No way! Thanks for this site. BMW has made a nasty turn for the worse. I am a loyal customer over a decade and have purchased 6 BMWs for me and my family to enjoy over the years. I am on my 6th BMW which happened to be a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED BMW. The last 5 were purchased New and after the CPO experience being described to me by a sales associate, I determined to purchase a CPO BMW instead of new. What a mistake! The car was visually perfect and mechanically appeared fine on the test drive before purchase, but there were a plethora of engine and transmission issues the week after purchase. With less than 30,000 miles, I had no idea what I was getting into with this plagued car, not to mention all the interior cracks and creaking and the deferred maintenance that no one paid any attention to on the vehicle.I asked BMW North America for compensation for my time spent, almost 20 hours of driving, waiting, telephone calls, troubleshooting, exchanging rental cars, paying for rental cars, etc. and after 3 weeks they called me back stating that they will not honor any compensation. Disgusting. This will be my last BMW, and I will be sure to share this experience with my circle of car enthusiasts.

My wife and I purchased a 2014 BMW X3 xDrive 28i in August of 2014. The car we chose was a certified preowned car, meaning it had low mileage and additional inspections/warranties applied. We purchased the car with about 7k miles on it and it was a good car for the first few years we owned it. In the last year, we needed to replace several expensive items including the oil gasket, most of which cost upwards of $1k plus. The final straw was the transmission dying. My wife was on her way home from the store when the vehicle gave her a Drive Train Malfunction warning and urged her to pull over and stop the vehicle. Once stopped, the vehicle would no longer allow itself to be shifted out of park. We managed to get it on a flatbed tow truck and then to a repair center. The repair center diagnosed a faulty transmission which baffled them as the car has less than 90k miles on it and had been maintained fully by BMW certified techs. The fact remained, however, that it was indeed the transmission that would need replaced. If we had decided to go this route, the cost would be roughly $6k and a month of time if we went with a third party repair or closer to $9k if we went with a dealership. The car at this point in its life is worth roughly $10k, so neither repair is worth it. So essentially, were left with a very heavy paperweight that we now must dispose of. Ive had low end beater variety Mazdas last twice as long as this luxury vehicle. I will not be purchasing again and will be warning anyone I can get to listen to me off of BMWs going forward.

The brand new BMW 335i N55F30 was purchased in April 2012, registered on May 4, 2012 has been handed over to BMW RAK service due to vibrations and some kind of noise from the front on 15/05/2012. The car has done only 3,000 Km. After inspection and balancing the wheels at RAK, the serviced car was returned to me with 80 gram weight on the front right side on 17/05/2012 (80 grams weight on an alloy wheel is too much even for any standards). After driving for a few kilometers, noise and vibration was noticed again and the same was reported immediately to the service supervisor Mr. **. The car was returned back to RAK service station on 19/05/2012 morning. On 20/05/2012, the car has been sent to Sharjah service station for further investigations. This car is still with Sharjah, UAE service station and they were unable to figure out the issue! This is a new car and such bad quality product from BMW is not acceptable to me. I need to know how I can get full refund! I do not need a new car as I am not sure about the new 335i. Repeated email and phone calls to BMW have no result. The sales executive who has sold the car to me also made it clear that he is helpless! What is happening with all the quality that is being boosted by BMW? Please, someone help with your suggestion on how to go about this issue. Thanks in advance.

On July 31, 2011, I bought my first and last BMW. I bought a brand new X3. I loved the car at first and then months in, the problems started happening. Let me first state that when I bought my X3, the back hatch did not open and close properly. The struts were broken. The first time I had issues, I was driving and the dash alerted me that my back hatch was open when in fact it was closed. Then the alert went away, but my hazards started flashing. I called the service department and they had me bring my vehicle in. They tried to tell me that because the struts were broken, it was tripping the system. So they fixed the struts.A month later, while I stopped at a stop light, my back hatch opened all on its own. Then within that same week, while driving up my drive way at a speed of 15mph, my back hatch opened all on its own again. So I called the service department again. And again I took my car to the service department. They kept my car for almost a week, only to conclude that they couldnt duplicate the problem. Therefore, they couldnt fix the problem. Another month goes by. While driving on the freeway, this time the dash alerted me: 1) Back hatch open. Then the alert goes away moments later; 2) The hazards start flashing; 3) The windshield wipers start swiping, and the windshield wiper fluid starts spraying; 4) And an alert on my dash states, Windshield wiper system failure. That alert flashed twice.I currently have my car in the service department and I’m at my wit’s end. I thought this company built good, dependable cars. All I have experienced is problems. My car isnt even a year old. The company has told me that in order to buy back my car, I have to pay them $3,500. I think that’s totally unacceptable. I never want to do business with BMW again.

For a luxury car, this is a piece of crap. We bought a 528i, and 2 years later the thing is nothing but problems. The heater does not blow hot air unless you max the thermostat out. The fan won’t blow air unless you max the fan speed out. The vents fall apart and are not covered under warranty or extended warranty. Took it to the dealer and they said it was all normal and accused us of user error breaking the vents. No one sits in the back seat, but yet the vent broke. Total BS. Will never buy another one of these crappy cars. I have a BMW X5 as well, also crappy piece of junk. They can’t even honor their warranty or roadside service commitments. Total waste of money. Hendrick BMW in Pleasanton California is the dealership that we used and they are substandard. Never been so ignored by any car dealership. Took all day to get an update on a car they had for 3 + days, only to get all the BS answers about why they could not do any of the repairs. Just BS about normal function and blamed us for their ** falling apart.

Purchased a tire/wheel protection plan (scam) for $1600. When I leased my X3. I took my vehicle into BMW in Bridgewater NJ three times for a tire that had a constant leak and was in need of replacement. Each time I was advised it only needed air. I returned my vehicle to Flemington BMW, where I initially leased it and went across the street and leased another from Flemington Lincoln. I was totally insulted when I received my Lease termination Inspection report only to find that the tire that I bought in to be repaired (right front - run flat) tread was measured to be 3/32. Apparently 1/32 below the acceptable wear and as a result was charged an $300. In addition to a $350 disposition fee for not leasing another BMW.My husband called BMW customer service and complained to Charles ** about what a rip off scam this was and that we wanted to see the tire they measured so can measure it to see this 1/32, when the rest of the tires were above their so called standards. Mr ** had no remedy for my problem and was virtually speechless. First and last BMW. Tire wheel protection with them is definitely a JOKE! Management at Flemington BMW did nothing! Lost a customer.

I got a lemon. This is the most expensive car I ever paid for. I had driven many different types of cars. So far this 2009 BMW 335i gave me so many troubles. My car is 19,500 miles and since December 2011, my car had been at the shop for 13 times. It’s in the shop again right now and I dont know when Im going to get it back. Its one problem after another. BMW advertised their cars as the ultimate driving machine, I think the quality of their cars had felt way below standard. There is nothing I can do about it since besides selling it. Dont bother to call their service manager or BMW of North America to waste your time. You will be going around in circles and you will find yourself angrier with gaining nothing. I had drove BMW for many years. Bottom line is, do not buy any BMW, the quality of their cars is not built like before.

My new 750 Li X has been at the Bayside BMW dealer for 1 month. I have also contacted customer service at BMW USA . They havent fixed the car, the dealer lies and misrepresents the work orders. The company is run like a fraud. Also, BMW USA tell you the same lies . When I went today to pick up the car, the manager refused to test drive the auto so I could see if it worked, the staff is nasty and when I decided not to take the car until they assured me it was repaired. I got back into the loaner car, at which time, one of the staff banged on back of the car as I was backing up. That staff person then claimed that I ran into him. The police were contacted and the man who said I hit him decided to fake he was hurt. An ambulance was called and off he went to a hospital. The whole thing is one big scam to cover up that the central computer on these cars malfunction. These are expensive autos and they should not be sold in the US until someone looks into all of the complaints. You cant make this stuff up, but BMW should be held accountable for punitive damages.

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didnt go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, Goodbye. Youre out of warranty. I couldnt be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.

I purchased my dream car 4 years ago. I was so excited but then for the last 3 yrs, I have been taking my 645ci to BMW of Annapolis complaining about my transmission. Each time, they told me they couldnt duplicate the problem but took care of other issues. I had a 3rd party warranty that they charged close to $14,000. Not once could they diagnose the problems with transmission. The last few times I took it, the transmission malfunction light was on. One of the service advisers even saw it. But again I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. In May 2017, I again took it there since my light came on again. They had my car for weeks, but I was told to pick up the car. They couldnt duplicate the problem. A few weeks later, my car would not go in reverse and the transmission light came on again. I called and spoke to the Service Manager Steve **. He told me to bring it to him and they will take a look at it. Well, my husband was able to get it there and told him that the car would not go into reverse, reminded them that I just had it there for the transmission issue and showed picture of the transmission light. Once again, I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. Their foreman sent me an email stating he reviewed all my previous complaints (which a documented in email) and stated they couldnt duplicate the problem, but that I needed a new transmission shifter selector lever ($1,500) but couldnt guarantee that would take care of the problem. Also stated in email that he notice they showed a pattern of low voltage issues (which I never was told before). My warranty expired the beginning of this year (due to time on mileage). Not once was I informed of the low voltage issues and nothing was ever done about my complaints of the transmission. This would have all been covered but now it is not. I contacted the corporate office, Group 1 Auto. They are the owners of BMW of Annapolis. I received a call from Steve ** from their office. I had him on a conference call with my husband so he could explain our issues. While my husband talked to him, Mr. ** snickered several times while my husband was talking. My husband asked if they was laughing at him. I found the snickering very rude. All I wanted was some kind of resolution with my car. I wanted to know why the transmission light kept coming on (both my husband & I have had problems with the shifting or slipping of the transmission). We were never given an answer. I didnt want to put $1,500 into the car and that not be the problem. I wanted answers. Instead I got we need the loaner car back and Do you want us to put in shifter? Well it turns out Steve ** was at the BMW service department. He told us on the phone we need the loaner back and we will not do any work on your car so please take it to a different BMW service department. I have never in my life been treated in this manner. They couldnt figure out the problem and instead of calling the Corporate Team (which I found out BMW has to figure out problems like this), they wouldnt work with us.My husband ended up getting the car (with no reverse), and noticed damage to the dashboard and curb straps (that were not there when car dropped off). He also had to call the police in order to get the information on who actually worked on our car (test drove it and tried to diagnosis) since BMW would not give him that information. Now I am without a working car, a broken dashboard and still do not know what is wrong with the transmission. I dont understand how it got to this point. Why were the experts not called when they couldnt duplicate the problem. Especially when I told them I was having problems in 2014? This could have been avoided had they taken the extra steps. I understand parts need to be replaced, but I feel it was never diagnosed properly. I am in total disgust. This has given BMW a bad name.

I bought an XI -20d last year, Invoice no ** dated 21-3-12 from Navnit Motors in Narain Pro Audio Lighting Pvt Ld and I have driven less than 3000 km. from 21st April 2012 till 21st March 2013 as the car is still in BMW repair center and I have driven here 6-7 times to my bungalow in Lonavala. I hardly use this car in Mumbai. The front wind shield glass got damaged sometime last year while cleaning the car on the passenger side. I had BMW secure and Navnit replaced the glass and charged me Rs 1500 but I lost no claims bonus plus the headache of traveling from Bhiwandi to Andheri to and fro and wasting my entire day, money and petrol. After that, both the 2 rear windows were not working and I sent the car to Navnit service station and it was stated that the motors need to be changed as they were defective, and the motors were replaced and its working okay now. I dont understand why the motors should break down so easily. This is obviously the case of substandard motors used. Now again the glass has broken on 19th March 2013,while cleaning the car at the same point as last time on passenger side. This is definitely a manufacturing defect. The toughened glass has to take a lot of abuse. Why should it break like this? It cannot even take the load of its own wiper. In discussions spanning almost 2 hours with Prakash **, I came to realize that both the left and right side wipers were different with different curvatures. Prakash stated that maybe a stone or flying object had hit the glass. I physically removed the wiper blade from its attachment and we checked that the lower part fitted on the car was touching the glass, where the crack had started. So we both arrived to the conclusion that the windshield was broken due to the wiper falling on the glass on the passenger side. Further, I let the wiper slip from my hands with its maximum inherent force to touch the glass at least 15 times on the drivers side but nothing happened to the glass. Why should it break the glass not once but twice on the same side and at the same point? A car of this quality is supposed to handle a lot of abuse and XI cannot even take the pressure of its own wiper which is absolutely ridiculous, obviously a drop test with several thousand times drop of the wiper on the windshield which ensures unbreakability by its own wiper is not taken or maybe the curvature of the wiper is such that it breaks the glass or maybe the padding is inadequate but I feel absolutely cheated by buying such a substandard productI am just too scared to even get my car washed or even take it out, for anyone on the street can just accidentally take the wiper up and put it down on the wind shield and the glass breaks again. When I called about the basic charge which was Rs 1500, I was told by Sameera that the charges are Rs 2500 and I would have to pay a couple of thousand more for rubber charges, and when I spoke to Miss ** in Service, I was told that Rs 1500 only need to be paid and not Rs 2500 as my insurance was done in March12 and the charges were hiked from April 2012. I am shocked that anything is quoted just to milk the customer more and there is no fixed policy of Navnit.Further, I had gone to the service station and met the head, Mr. Ravi **, and he was abrupt to the point of rudeness and he was just saying he had a meeting at 12:30 and had to leave and when I told him about the glass breaking twice on the same side and motors failing in almost a brand new car as it is driven less than 3000 km., he just said, It happens, and gave vague reasoning that electronic components like motors can fail without any rhyme or reason. I was zapped by his answer. Now these are high quality geared motors and the test method involves thousands of times to do up and down and 2 motors failing at the same time is not a coincidence and that, too, when we have hardly used the car and in less than a yearFor the record, I would like to state that my son or I personally drive the BMW and we dont let our driver touch the car and even the inside cleaning is done under my sons supervision as we dont hand over the keys to anyone excluding my son and myself. We treat it like a baby. I have been dealing with BMW such as Suchita/Pritesh/Kuber/ ameera,/Ashwini /Prakash (service), Miss **(service)/ Ravi (Service ) but none of them have even bothered to call back or answer my grievance. What precaution has been taken that the glass does not break yet again? I am thoroughly disgusted with the car and specially the attitude of the dealer and its staff. We bought the BMW x1 thinking that we would have a superior quality product but even a Nano costing 1/12 the price we paid would have been better. In my 33 years of driving spanning at least 30-32 different varieties and makes of cars, no glass has broken like this, not even once (wiper touching the glass) or motors damaged within 9 months of use and that too not once but twice, I would take this up on public forum and I am going to put this on all websites of manufacturers of BMWs rivals so that maximum people are aware of this if my concerns are not addressed as it is a clear case of selling me a substandard product and cheating.

This is my first experience owning a BMW. I have owned Chevy, GMC, etc. The technology in this car is amazing. The lighting, the craftsmanship and even the quality of the paint job surpasses any other car Ive owned. The 8 cylinder engine drives like a dream. The car and maintenance is pricey. But so worth it.

BMW screwed me big times after returning my lease. I have received 10 weeks later a bill from BMW stating I owe them money but before my lease ran out 2 months before I went for inspection and did what they have told me to do but then I got the charge 10 weeks later when they have sold the car. $900 for 3 tires oil change $250 and etc... Just be careful when you lease a car from BMW unless you are stick around with that brand otherwise they will screw you over big times and also the dealer wont help you out after you turn it in... It is a shame.

I bought my 2002 BMW 330ci in October of 2011, since then I have had to have the cam shaft censor replaced ($270). It has been misfiring for an unknown reason causing the check engine light to stay on constantly and causing it to idle down and die every once in a while. Also, adding to my list of non working car parts, my trunk doesnt seal properly and leaks and the convertible top will not go down yet leaks every time it rains ($700 to fix) and my passenger door wont unlock and the lock is stuck down in the door making my passenger door unable to open ($300 to fix). Now it is February of 2012 and my reverse went out completely and with no warning at all. I have had nothing but problems in the short time I have owned the vehicle so now it is parked in my driveway until I can come up with the $4000 or more for a new transmission. I am not only dissatisfied but also angry and disappointed. I bought BMW because I thought I was buying quality and dependability. I am very let down and can honestly say once I rid myself of this money pit I call my car (which is hopefully very soon). I will never buy another BMW and will share my experience with other perspective BMW buyers.

Hello I would like to make a complain about my BMW 520d 184ps 2011. My car left me while I was driving. Suddenly I didnt have any power and my car stopped. I took the car to BMW dealer and they told me that is the same problem I had 2 years and one month ago. The injection system and I need to change the same parts as 2 years ago. 2 years ago BMW paid for the parts and I only paid for the workmanship. Then around 120.000-130.000 km, and now I have 214.000 km and I dont consider normal that the injection system should be changed after 90.000 km. Please help with a solution for my problem.

I have owned my 1995 BMW 740i since I graduated High school and received it as a graduation gift. The car now has 145,000 miles on it and is still running. BUT along the way it has developed bad valves and valve guides, the transmission has started to shift hard sometimes and I believe it has developed a rod knock. Yes the car is exceptionally comfortable and all the electronics still work, and is very fun to drive for a 2.2 ton luxury sedan, but a $65,000 car should not have these kinds of issues at 145,000 miles. These cars are very complicated and do have problems as a result, but they should not be having MAJOR mechanical problems 3/4 of the way through their life. I also realize that if youre going to drop that kind of money on a car you should be able to afford the repairs, and luckily I can, but I shouldnt have to!! I just want a luxury car that isnt in the shop every week, my Mercedes was a COMPLETE piece of junk (and it was new) and my 3 year old Audis tanny went out at 56,000 miles. So its sad to say but honestly my BMW has been my most reliable, and thats not saying much.

I bought a BMW 530e 2019. Car drives fine. However, mileage is suppose to be 68MPGe. I get 48 MPG, and thats with using the battery to the fullest, driving only Econ Mode, and keeping most of my trips less than 16 miles. Ive received 2 recalls on the car already... Also, called local dealerships (Norwood, MA) for a scheduled oil change and to handle the recalls. I cant get into to the dealership till about 3 weeks later with a loaner. If I had a cheaper: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, that definitely is not the case. Those dealers can accommodate in a few days. Ive found you dont get better service or technology with a BMW, you get a brand name only with nothing behind it. Never buying another BMW. Had a Mercedes before, their service was much better.

To begin, I have wanted a BMW for years but always talked myself out of one. But several months ago I traded my reliable Chevrolet in and got a BMW (2011 328i) that was a year older. I had the car for 1 week and had a problem. It was making a very loud whining sound. Turned the car off and it didnt make the noise again and no codes came up when they checked it in the shop. Following six months later, the sound is back, this time I recorded it before shutting the car off. Again, sound was gone when I restarted the car. Happened again two days later. Got it into the shop by calling every person in management whose name I could get a hold of at the dealership - it wasnt easy getting the car in! Two weeks later I get the car back - they replaced a head gasket seal (?). The car did not have the same get up and go and the steering now felt very heavy and/or stiff. I go back and they say my car is fine. I had just gotten use to the electric steering and power of the 2015 loaner I was driving. Another two weeks go by and I was telling myself that BMW was full of BS and I needed to get the car back in there for them to make it right, but I am busy and hadnt even been able to make the phone call. A few days after my thoughts of getting the car back in, a salesman text me and says the GM says hes giving cars away today, come down and they will get me that 2015. I replied and told them to be real and they had a lot of nerve contacting me considering my car still wasnt right. They immediately called me and the GM asked me to give them one more chance and he would make it my best car buying experience ever. Okay, so I end up with a 2015, 20 miles on it. Lacks the amenities of seat warmers, sun roof, satellite radio, and GPS, all of which I have always had in my cars but I figured no $ out of pocket, payment I can afford and brand new reliable car - for a single mom/student/employed woman that was a pretty sweet deal. Now, at 3,000 miles my car is giving me problems and I need to get it in the shop before I get stranded somewhere. When its cold, I can barely make it out of the driveway in the morning or hot afternoon. The best way I can describe it is it feels like its flooding out and not going anywhere - kind of like trying to run a lawn mower or motorcycle with the choke on. On top of that, the motor sounds like a cheap old jalopy vehicle. I wanted BMW because I thought they were a quality vehicle, sure to be reliable - I should have done my research. I loved that you could get in a BMW that had 85000 miles on it and they didnt have a single rattle and I loved the smoothness and comfort of the drive. I now have to admit, this was one of the stupidity decisions I have ever made! :( I need to.figure out a way to go back to the reliability of Chevrolet or Ford!

I purchased a 2011 BMW 550i xDrive from International Autos Group. I must say I love the car and am very happy with the purchase. The issue I have is with BMWs failure to honor the contract that was signed. The contract states the CPO warranty with a deductible of Not Applicable, yet BMW is charging $50 for every service. It took weeks for BMW North America to render a decision, and I think they knew it was the wrong decision, but nevertheless they told me to pound salt. The rep was very rude during our last call. It is my understanding that International Autos Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ultimately denied the request to honor the contract. I caution against working with this dealership. Have had much better BMW dealership experiences elsewhere.

I bought a BRAND new BMW 530 XDrive last May 2019. This June 2019 I got a flat tire. I called roadside assistance for the first time and arranged a pick up. It took over 3 hours (FIRST sign they dont care) but they finally got a tow truck to me. The Companys name was T & T towing based in Waldorf. The dealership they were supposed to take my car to was less than 30 minutes up the road. SO after an hour has passed and no update. I called T&T towing to see the status of my vehicle. I was then informed NOBODY WANTS YOUR CAR, WE WILL DROP IT OFF WHEN WE DROP IT OFF. I look on my BMW app and see my car is heading to Waldorf and not BMW of Silver Spring as requested. I contact BMW RSA to let them know how I am being spoken to and that I would like my vehicle returned. I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

My new vehicle is the worst experience I ever had. Wind noise creates so much distraction while driving that I feel safety issues are questionable. While driving I cannot focus on the road because the only thing I can hear is wind noise. I took vehicle to dealership twice, and third time they refused to take it in. They said that all of them are like that. I made a mistake to trade in my 2007 328i, which never made any noises. BMW needs to supply complimentary helmets with every new sold vehicle because that appears to be only cure. I tried turning my radio volume up, and still I can hear it. But another thing that worries me is that I have constant headache from the volume. Does anyone experience the same issues? I have called the manufacturer, and they are not concerned at all.

Im in the military, and when I went to look at cars they told me leasing was the way to go. When I explained that I move a lot and that the chances of me still being in the area when the lease was over were slim they said that wasnt an issue. They said they worked with military people all the time and knew how everything went. Well 3 years goes by and I have to turn in my car. I was told if I turned it in with miles to use Id be reimbursed. I was 8,000 miles under didnt get a penny. Then I am told I have to pay a 300 dollar fee for not getting another BMW. So I was not happy to say the least... then a year later I get a bill for property tax in a state Im not a resident in and never even registered the car in.Apparently they like to leave out that because you lease it means the title belongs to them not you and the states dont allow the exceptions because the title is owned by BMW. Horrible experience trying to deal with this and in the end had to pay a tax I never should have had to pay. Stay away from BMW leasing if you are a Soldier.

Check engine lights, battery drain problems, electrical problems... on and on and on. The worst car Ive ever owned and at a most ridiculous price. Many times the check engine light or battery drain light (or whatever) comes back on or recurs within a day or within a week. Back to the shop we go... only to be told they cant find it or replicate it. Great. I go home, it starts again. Its beyond ridiculous. As soon as I pick it up from the shop this time (its getting the THIRD battery now), Im selling it. Ill never own another one again. EVER. Dont waste your money. BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate the issue and they can’t fix it but not sure why they are holding my vehicle with them. They give me a longer vehicle with an expired Tag which I received 5 tickets so far but Critz BMW told me that they will be paying for it but I have to deal with all the frustrations. I reached out to BBB and at first they accept my case but later denied it after they contacted BMW of North America. The representative from BMW of North America told me over the phone in a sarcastic way that “Your case is denied from BBB and you have no case against us.” I contacted State of Georgia Governor’s office but no reply from them and I have also reached out to the Department of Highway safety for the seatbelt safety issue and no reply from them as will. I got it out and 4 days later the check engine light came back on. I brought my car back to the dealer on 5/15/12 and it has been in there ever since until this day. It is still in there and today is 6/1/12. I am getting the run-around. They have been trying different things to fix the problem and still have not fixed it. They wouldnt even provide me with a loaner. I have been paying out of pocket for a rental car going on 3 weeks now and they won’t even reimburse me for that when they test drive my car, put mileage on my car and burn up my gas. I strongly feel this car is a lemon.Instead of them saying its a lemon, they want to spend countless hours and weeks trying to fix a car they dont know how to fix for 3 weeks now. I am so angry. I dont know what else to do. They are not helping me to my satisfaction at all. All they keep telling me is they are working on it. Its been almost 3 weeks now. Enough is enough now. They keep taking apart my car and putting it back together to the point that I dont want the car because I dont think I’ll be or feel safe in it. My car is in Union Park BMW in Wilmington, DE 19806. Purchase a BMW 328i late Dec 2012, 48,800 miles. Im retired, drive less than 8,500 miles a yr., pick up my grandkids from school 12 miles roundtrip. In the first 2 months after I got this car Ive taken it back to the dealership at least 5x. RED FLAG. Check engine light on, door wont open, oil leak. Dealerships fix everything, no problem till June 2013 & no longer under 50,000. Had this car 5 1/2 months, at the dealership 6 times & had to pay over $990 to the blower on the AC. Since then Ive paid for several oil leaks, gasket valve replaced, door locks because it was a mechanical problem, window problems, AC problems - 2 more times had to raise hell about that to get it fix & still charged me $150.00 for a part because only the blower was under warranty. Check engine light NEVER goes off & no one knows why.Picked up my grandson from school on a hot day, the car just stopped. No lights, no warning, just died. Took it back to the dealership that informed me my break fluid was leaking, my transmission may have problems & my suspension is going out... my car was just at the dealership for routine oil change, break fluid & tires 3 weeks before it stopped. I ask them about a noise my car made when I turn left/right but they didnt hear or see anything. They gave me a quote for everything that needs fixing & I almost hell passed out, I had to get 2nd quote. While driving home on the freeway front suspension went completely out, tried to stop that, car was all over the place, it scared me so bad I had to pull off the Fwy. I just cried, 35 mins later start car back up, took the side streets, home only 10 mins away when my car started shaking. I stopped at lights, it would shake more & act like it was going to die... Who knows what the hell that is.I financed this car, make payments, take great care of it... Only drove it to pick up my grandkids, get groceries & church... I would park it on the weekends cause my daughter would pick me up... Those miles on the car came from driving back & forth 40 min 1 way to the dealership 15 time in less than 3 yrs... Its been sitting for 2 weeks. Im too scared to drive it, even if I could afford all these recent repairs $8,000-$10,000... THIS IS THE WORST CAR I EVER HAD... This car has been in the shop more than I actually driven it. Ive spent over $3,800 not including routine maintenance on a car I didnt drive when it did run... This car is nightmare. Every time I look at it I start to cry... WHOEVER READ THIS, NEVER BUY A BMW EVER. Lease a new model, 2 yr then take it back... Can I sue BMW??
