This model appeals to those who want an SUV that dominates highways, thrills on twisty roads, and still delivers refinement for daily life.

Design & Exterior Identity

The exterior of the 2026 BMW X6 M is bold, aggressive, and instantly recognizable as a performance machine:

Coupe-inspired silhouette: The sloping roofline and fastback profile give the X6 M a striking, athletic stance that distinguishes it from conventional SUVs.

M-specific enhancements: Enlarged air intakes, aerodynamic body elements, sculpted side skirts, and a pronounced rear diffuser reflect its performance pedigree.

Muscular proportions: A wide track, flared wheel arches, and sizeable wheels convey both power and confidence from every angle.

Signature M cues: Discreet M badges and tailored trim highlight the vehicle’s high-performance character without undermining its premium style.

The X6 M’s appearance blends sportiness and sophistication, creating a luxurious yet aggressive presence.

Powertrain & Performance

The 2026 X6 M’s powertrain is engineered for exceptional acceleration and high-speed capability:

High-output engine: A performance-tuned engine delivers abundant horsepower and torque, enabling rapid acceleration and significant passing power.

Advanced automatic transmission: A refined performance gearbox ensures quick, smooth shifts to maximize both performance and daily usability.

All-wheel drive performance: BMW’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system enhances traction, stability, and confidence across varied driving conditions and surface types.

Performance focus: The powertrain is calibrated for lively throttle response and strong midrange torque, making the X6 M feel potent in both urban and high-speed contexts.

This results in accelerative performance that rivals many sports cars while accommodating SUV versatility.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

The 2026 BMW X6 M delivers dynamic performance that belies its SUV proportions:

M-tuned adaptive suspension: A sophisticated suspension system balances sporty handling and ride comfort, adapting to driving conditions and selected drive modes.

Responsive steering: Steering feedback is tuned to provide confidence and clarity at all speeds, reinforcing the connection between driver and road.

Performance braking system: Large, capable brakes with strong stopping power ensure control and composure even during spirited driving.

Body control and agility: Despite its size and shape, the X6 M’s chassis tuning minimizes roll and enhances responsiveness through turns and quick transitions.

The driving experience is both engaging and assured, combining SUV versatility with sports-oriented dynamics.

Interior Comfort & Technology

Inside, the 2026 X6 M blends luxury refinement with performance-focused design:

Performance-oriented seats: Deeply bolstered seats provide excellent support during dynamic driving, yet remain comfortable for long highway journeys and everyday use.

Premium materials: Soft-touch surfaces, high-quality upholstery, and refined trim elements create a luxurious cabin environment.

Driver-centric layout: Controls and displays are positioned intuitively for easy access and minimal distraction, enhancing the driving experience.

Advanced infotainment: A modern central interface integrates navigation, media, climate control, and vehicle settings, with seamless smartphone connectivity for calls, music, and apps.

The interior reflects a blend of performance presence and everyday luxury.

Technology & Connectivity

The 2026 BMW X6 M includes modern technology designed to support both performance awareness and everyday convenience:

Digital instrument panel: A configurable digital display presents essential driving information — such as speed, navigation, and performance metrics — in a clear, customizable format.

Central infotainment system: A responsive touchscreen manages navigation, media, vehicle settings, and connectivity.

Smartphone integration: Wireless connectivity supports seamless access to calls, messaging, apps, and navigation functions.

Performance displays: Real-time readouts provide feedback on dynamics, torque distribution, drive modes, and other performance-related data.

These systems enhance driver awareness and usability without detracting from the core driving experience.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 BMW X6 M comes equipped with a suite of safety and driver support features designed to enhance confidence and reduce driver workload:

Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain a steady pace and safe following distances during highway travel.

Lane-keeping assistance: Offers support for stability and centering at sustained speeds.

Automatic emergency braking: Adds mitigation in sudden stop situations.

Blind-spot monitoring: Improves awareness during lane changes and in dense traffic.

Safety systems work seamlessly in the background, supporting both performance and everyday conditions.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW X6 M

High-performance capability: Potent engine and intelligent drivetrain deliver powerful acceleration and confident performance.

Dynamic handling: M-tuned chassis, steering, and suspension create engaging control and responsiveness.

Premium interior: Quality materials and comfort-focused design elevate the cabin experience.

Modern technology: Digital interfaces and connectivity systems enhance convenience and performance awareness.

SUV versatility: A spacious cabin and practical cargo area support everyday duties and travel needs.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Ride firmness: Performance-oriented suspension tuning can feel firmer than comfort-biased SUVs on rough surfaces.

Fuel consumption: Potent performance typically results in higher fuel use compared with non-M SUVs.

Premium ownership costs: High-performance parts and advanced technology can contribute to elevated maintenance and insurance costs.

Size and agility: Although dynamically capable, the larger SUV dimensions mean it won’t match the nimbleness of a dedicated sports car in tight spaces.

Who the 2026 BMW X6 M Is Best For

The 2026 BMW X6 M is ideal for drivers who:

Want sports-car-like performance in a versatile SUV format.

Appreciate dynamic handling and confident acceleration alongside everyday luxury.

Value premium interior comfort and modern technology.

Need an SUV that performs well in city traffic, highway cruising, and spirited back-road driving.

Prefer a blend of executive refinement and performance-oriented engineering.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW X6 M delivers a bold blend of performance, luxury, and versatility in a unique SUV coupe package. It combines powerful acceleration, agile handling, premium comfort, and modern technology into a dynamic offering that satisfies both enthusiast drivers and luxury SUV buyers. I have always dreamed of owning a BMW and be able to take it to service with no problems like I have received. From intake to invoice to floor manager, it has been a complete disaster with them and how I was treated in the service department.

I purchased a pre-owned 2008 BMW 750IL with about 50,000 miles. I drove it to 92,000 miles before I had to trade it in. I have purchased three BMWs and have had serious service issues with the last two. The specific problem I have had with the last one related to the cars inability to start. I had to have it towed into the dealership 4 times when it would not start. In each case the dealer thought they solved the problem but had not. I paid $1,800 to have it fixed but without success. The dealer returned my money because they told me that even though they got the car running, they could not guarantee that it was fixed. This was a problem in the engine computer. Since the car was unpredictable to start, I had to trade it in on a new car, an Infiniti.I will never buy a BMW again. What is so frustrating about this situation is that I intended to keep this car for another 50,000 miles and the engine, if it started, certainly could easily deliver these miles. This situation forced me to invest +$50,000 that I had never budgeted for. I could not have a car that I did not know from one day to the next if it would start. When you pay this amount for a luxury car, you should not have to be stressed out about its ability to start. And for the dealership not to be able to fix and ask me to go away is quite a disappointment! I will be sure to tell hundreds of people over time my story and to recommend they never buy a BMW!!!

4 weeks ago, on 5/8/12, I brought my car in for service. The check engine light came on. It was in for 3 days to replace fuel injection system. I got it out and 4 days later the check engine light came back on. I brought my car back to the dealer on 5/15/12 and it has been in there ever since until this day. It is still in there and today is 6/1/12. I am getting the run-around. They have been trying different things to fix the problem and still have not fixed it. They wouldnt even provide me with a loaner. I have been paying out of pocket for a rental car going on 3 weeks now and they won’t even reimburse me for that when they test drive my car, put mileage on my car and burn up my gas. I strongly feel this car is a lemon.Instead of them saying its a lemon, they want to spend countless hours and weeks trying to fix a car they dont know how to fix for 3 weeks now. I am so angry. I dont know what else to do. They are not helping me to my satisfaction at all. All they keep telling me is they are working on it. Its been almost 3 weeks now. Enough is enough now. They keep taking apart my car and putting it back together to the point that I dont want the car because I dont think I’ll be or feel safe in it. My car is in Union Park BMW in Wilmington, DE 19806. BMW needs to buy this car back so I can move on with my life. It does not take this long to fix any car - not 3 weeks!

I have owned 3 new BMW 3 series, prior to this purchase - this being #4. On Saturday, March 2, I went into the sales department at BMW Roxbury, NJ. I wanted to trade my 2009 330xi (purchased exec demo model) fully loaded for a new leased vehicle. After 5 hours an overly long and drawn out negotiation, and after being physically and mentally exhausted, we agreed to a deal. The first offer provided to me on my trade-in value for my car, which was at 50,000 miles, was $15k… A few hours later, and after many back and forths on lease options, monthly payments, etc., they begrudgingly offered me $17k, justifying the low amount for a windshield that had been cracked and filled by Safelite previously, and 4 worn tires. The car was in impeccable condition otherwise, and BMW assured me they could only retail it for $19k.On March 5, after only 2 days of actually driving the car, I experienced a horrifying issue - I lost the throttle in my car in 2nd and 3rd gears. I was on a 60-mile drive back to my home at night by myself, and while in stop-and-go local traffic, accelerating and merging onto a major highway, and then in local traffic again, I found I had lost any and all throttle over first gear. My speed dropped from 60 mph to 35 mph in seconds and without warning. I narrowly escaped, I would say, at least 10 precarious situations that were nearly horrible accidents. I ended up driving the car straight into the dealer in Roxbury fearing for my safety. They had the car until March 8. Service told me they dont know what caused the issue - they couldnt reproduce it - and asked me all kinds of insulting questions, inferring that maybe I didnt understand how to drive a manual transmission when Ive driven one for nearly 20 years. Or, maybe I just didnt understand the auto start and stop feature, or maybe I just couldnt differentiate scenarios during which it would be appropriate for a car to either go or to stop”. They said they spoke with BMW engineers who told them it could have been a faulty fan sensor and fan, which would have cut the throttle to protect an engine overheat. Brand new car, no issue showing on the temperature gauge. Car was returned late Friday night. While I was waiting for the car that Friday, I found the flyer for the resale of my traded-in 2009 330. They had created a sticker for $21,959... about $5k more than what they have given me on the trade-in. Nearly a 25% margin on my trade in. I kept the flyer for my own records. On March 13, again on a late night drive back to my home, the same issue happened. Same real danger of accident and this time I had a friend following me who witnessed the behavior of the car. I called the morning of March 14 and Service offered to come pick up the car for service and drop off the loaner. Its now March 15 and I havent heard a status yet. I paid the $499 initial monthly lease payment on March 2 and BMW has had the car for 7 of the 13 days its been in my possession. At this point, I would like to return the car for a full refund since it is neither safe, reliable, enjoyable or usable... and I would like my 2009 330 back and to walk away from BMW and never look back!

I CONSIGNED ON A lease 2013 BMW 328ix. The car was repossessed in 11/2015. The lease ends March/2016. I had a right to take over payments. I called BMW Financial/Collections to pay the balance 11/25/2015. They explained there was a deadline as of 11/20/2015 to pay and obtain the vehicle. How was I supposed to know this when BMW never informed about the repossession or a deadline?

I own an 08 760Li that was purchased in 11/08. Its less than 4 years old and would still be under warranty if the car had 5k miles less. The logic 7 amp quit and BMW failed to offer any assistance for the replacement. When you look on the internet, you will find a multitude of complaints about this amp failing. The car was 134,600 dollars new and Im in shock that BMW doesnt stand behind their product.

I recently submitted a survey of my recent visit to the local BMW dealership (Schafer BMW of Wilmington, NC). I stated that I had taken my vehicle (2011 X3) in for a problem with noise coming from the passenger side at speeds of 45-50 MPH. The dealership stated that they too heard the noise and it was due to the tires. With 30K miles on the tires and their recommendation, I purchased 4 new tires, had them balanced and a front end alignment. Two weeks later I noticed the same noise coming from the same location. I returned my vehicle to the same dealership and again stated that the same noise was coming from the same location even after purchasing 4 new tires with an out of pocket of expense of $850 for tires, mounting, balancing and front end alignment. The dealership now states the noise is coming from the exhaust and not the tires. The resolution is still pending and BMW Customer Relations and Assistance states that they cannot reimburse me for the tires or accept responsibility of the dealerships misdiagnosis. Help!

My wife and I were driving when our car just died on the highway which is a 2011 bmw 335i coupe with 94.*** miles that she recently bought used. I called the Bmw of Portland. They said to come over and bring the car because I have warranty, they said which expires on the 30th of this Month, I was surprised but at the same time happy. We got the car in the shop, they gave us a rental. After a few days we received a phone call saying they cannot detect the issue because the battery is dead and its not original equipment. Two months prior, we replaced the battery at specialized Bmw shop, the battery was programmed and registered like it supposed to. So now bmw wants $500 for a new battery so they can test drive the car and duplicate the problem, but the funny thing is they said they charged it overnight and it fired up but died after an hour. So I told him obviously there is something draining the battery and he said nope its just the battery isnt original equipment. So I called a different bmw dealership because they refused to change the air filter and oil change while you can see that the air filter is super dirty. The main technician guy is scandalous and lazy. Spark notes car lost complete power and when I mean complete its out like nothing works at all. Prior a week before a car started to have longer cranks but it would always start. There is a recall for the positive battery cable but when I type my vin in it says I dont have a recall. I dont know what to do.

Total bill: over $5300. First, they had my car for close to six weeks. I had a problem with the computer, 4-wheel drive sensor, maintenance for 65000 miles, and key switch install. Second, I asked for the oil to be changed and 65000 mile tune-up. When I got it back my computer said that it had not been changed and it was a quart low. Third, I have dents and scratches on the car that did not exist prior. Fourth, the steering wheel now makes an annoying sound when you turn the wheel. Fifth, the heat knob on the dash was broken. It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? Ninth, they lied and said I could be not reached was the cause of the delay(s). Tenth, I asked for the used parts they supposedly changed and they said they were not available. We didnt think youd want them. Im thinking of filing suit, but dont know an attorney or group that would help. Any suggestions would be helpful even if you tell me Im wasting my time. On 04/28/12 I purchased a 2012 528i BMW. On 07/01/13 I noticed the A/C was having trouble. The AC kept blowing high, then low, like it was wheezing! I turned it off, then back on and it was ok! The next day I did not drive my car. On 07/03/13 at approximately 6pm the AC stopped working completely. BMW service dept. was closed and the next day was 4th of July. On Friday 07/05/13, at approximately 7am, I took my car to BMW service dept. At approximately 430pm, I get a call saying a part (Blower Regulator) in the AC blew/shorted out, they could not get the part until Monday and I could keep my loaner car until Monday. On Monday 07/08/13 at approximately 230pm, I get a call saying my car was ready and I can pick it up! Note they also serviced my car. When I received my car I noticed they had the AC blowing full blast, set on Max 60 degrees, blower on Max and noisy! The outside heat was in the hundreds so I thought they had it up because the car had been sitting and they wanted it cool when I got in the car. But I notice after driving about 10 or 15 minutes and stopping at stop lights I was sweating, my forehead was burning and something was not right. The AC was not fixed properly or they put in another Faulty Blower Regulator! This was my second Bakersfield Summer driving my BMW. The heat can get as high as 110 degrees and I never had to keep my car AC set on MAX any/everything. I always kept it set on 71 to 75 degrees, with blower on medium, this was very comfortable! I am anemic and get cold very easily! Now at my normal setting I am burning up and sweating, the air blowing out of the AC does not reach me which tells me the New Blower Regulator is not working properly or they put in a used faulty one. I am riding in a $57,000.00 car and sweating like a pig! My friends and family rode with me this past weekend and were complaining they were burning up, had to keep AC on MAX which burns a lot more gas! I took my car back to BMW on 07/11/13 to have them fix it correctly. At the end of the day I get call from BMW service dept. basically saying there is nothing is wrong with my AC! The Rep and I were sitting in my car talking about the issues with the AC, the AC was MAX, the BMW service Rep is sitting there wiping sweat off his forehead looking stunned, he is trying to tell the AC inside the unit is putting out 40 degrees air (per their gauge), yet after 15 minute of talking the Car cabin is 80 degrees! He could not explain it and went to get the service dept. manager! Manager did everything the Rep did, even went to get a new 528i to show that AC is normal. My car is not Normal! I am still burning up and sweating especially at stop lights/signs, people in back seat is burning up, the air is not reaching them! The Manager keeps saying he can not fix what is not broken! The Manager refused fix the problem correctly! The Manager stated several time I cant fix what is not broken! It is obvious the New blower Regulator is faulty, its not blowing the air out enough to reach me! I just want my AC to work correctly like the day I bought this $57,000.00 Car! Put in a Brand New Blower Regulator!

Ive purchased 4 and the current 550 will be the last. The transmission problem has been classified by BMW engineers as a characteristic of the car. Should someone that pays $68,000 be expected to accept a car that bogs down when passing? Brakes, rotors and pads replaced at 12k miles, right ignition coils, seat is broke, steer wheel leader coming off, USB connection blows the fuse when used and get ready to buy lots of tires. Dont even waste your time calling their executive center. $250k spent on their cars and they will not get a dime more. Pitiful they will not stand behind their product.

While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive beg
While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive began to experience a tapping sound from the engine and shortly thereafter, the check engine light lit up, at which point we used the BMW Assist feature for advice and to locate the nearest BMW Dealer. Explaining our situation to the BMW Representative, we asked for the nearest BMW dealer. Unfortunately they were over a hundred miles away, but the BMW representative informed us that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We thanked her and proceeded on our journey. A couple of hours later, the tapping turned into a knocking sound and we again used the BMW Assist feature who located a dealer in Rochester, NY. She proceeded to place a 3-way call and remained in the background to listen. We were informed from the dealer that they could not get us in, but he reiterated that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We continued into Canada, checked into a hotel, and parked the car for the night, searching the internet to locate the closest dealer which turned out to be Performance BMW in St. Catherines Ontario. We brought the car to Performance BMW in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the hopes that they could have a look to diagnose the problem.Tanya ** was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and she got our car right into a bay for diagnosis. We sat patiently for almost 2 hours until we were informed that it is taking longer to figure out the problem, and that BMW uses Enterprise Rental rather than loaner BMWs and we were put into a Hyundai Sonata, which is NOWHERE near a comparable vehicle to what I have purchased. After returning to the dealer to get the remainder of our luggage, Tanya informed us that as soon as they have a diagnosis, they would contact us.We returned to the dealer the following day hoping to get the car, and continue our vacation to New Hampshire, when we were informed that the main bearing of the crankshaft was the problem, and that the parts have to be ordered from Germany, which would take anywhere from 3-6 weeks plus the time needed to put everything back together. We were advised that Performance BMW could only cover the rental for the end of the day (second day) and that we would have to cover the remaining rental time, and then submit our expenses as part of the trip interruption clause, but there is no guarantee that it will be reimbursed. We have made several attempts to contact BMW North America. All we have been told is that until we have our vehicle back & submit our expenses, BMW North America will take the expenses under consideration for reimbursement. This is unacceptable.BMW of Mt. Laurel (purchasing dealer), indicated that if we had brought our car there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; and Performance BMW indicated that if we had purchased the vehicle in Canada, and brought it there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; but since a foreign dealer is working on a foreign car, neither dealer wants to cover the cost of the BMW loaner vehicle that we are entitled to let alone figure how to get it back to us.Once the car has been repaired and everything is in working order, we now have a new problem. We already took our vacation, now we have to take time off work to get our vehicle that failed. In addition, we now have a new car that had to have its engine rebuilt with less than 30,000 miles...not only will it affect our comfort level in this vehicle (do we take it on a trip, will it break down, what will it cost, etc.) but now we feel that this will affect the trade-in value of the car. I have spoken w/ several service advisers and sales personnel all said that this engine issue is not at all common, and the work will not affect the value of the car. However, I do not believe that is an accurate statement. There has to be something that can/will be done by BMW to correct this issue. At this point, I feel that BMW should replace the vehicle w/ a comparable BMW. If your resolve of this matter is not to our satisfaction, we will have no other choice but to leave the BMW and purchase a better quality luxury vehicle.

Clear coat failure, 2007 530i - Early in 2011, I took my BMW in for service to Bert Smith BMW in Saint Petersburg, FL. While the car was there, I had them look at clear coat that was disappearing from top surfaces on my car. They informed me that it looked like production defect so they would get a BMW rep to come look. Supposedly, the rep checked it out and deemed to be environmental issue. What the heck does that mean? If you live in FL and buy a $56,000 BMW that it is normal for the paint job to last 4 years tops. My neighbors Hyundai still has a beautiful paint job (same climate). How ridiculous. BMWNA Customer Relations deals with these problems like idiot robots. Anyone have any ideas?

I purchased a 2013 X5 on 5/22/13 and it has been in the car shop over 2.5 months. I am beyond frustrated in dealing with the dealership and BMW North America. Ive gone in for rattling noises that took them 2 times to fix and now my module that holds the lights, Bluetooth, SOS button, etc. will not work. This is the 3rd time in the shop for the module issue, BMW has switched out the module twice, and has rewired it twice but they still do now know what is causing the issue. They have had expert technicians that came out and conference Germany but no one knows why it sometimes work and sometimes doesnt work. All I am asking for is for BMW to give me a fair trade for the car but they are not willing to so. The reason being that this is not a safety issue. How do I know it wont be a safety issue in the long run?

I dont know where you went to have your oil changed, but I do know most of the drive thru oil change places have poor, untrained employees who know nothing about cars, changing your oil. Its very possible one of these employees introduced oil to your cooling system via the overflow tank which could have long term effects on your engine, water pump, etc. I believe if you are a BMW owner or German car owner in general, you need to have some basic automotive understanding which would include NOT taking your car to any random oil change place. Learn how to do it yourself using the correct oil, filter and tools, and it can be so rewarding. Or take it to someone who cares about your car as much as you do...

Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. BMW, IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND WE END UP IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

My battery needed to be replaced and to my surprise the dealer installed an Exide brand battery on 20 Feb 2013 and I was told it has 4 years Warranty. I believe that is not proper or even BMW policy to replaced BMW factory built battery with Exide brand battery. Now the battery is discharging and needed to be replaced and the dealer claim that it is out of Warranty because he only give 4 years Warranty on a new cars, and 2 years Warranty on old cars. My car is 2006 BMW 750li. I will no longer do business with (BMW Katy - Texas dealer). Please advise on how to solve this matter? or give any suggestion about an Exide brand battery service center to honors my Warranty in Houston.

The purpose of me sharing this with you is that The Ultimate Driving Machine did not turn out to be ultimate for us! This was a very traumatic experience for us. My daughter and I still have nightmares about it. Thank God my daughter and I got out of the car in time before it bursted into flames. Please note this car is not even a year old and less than 7000 miles! The worst part was I was scared and panicked as I could not open the wing door. This happened on September 2nd 2017!

BMW is not fixing my vehicle under full manufacturer warranty. I was told by a customer service representatives that there will be no fix to the issue below and mainly the safety seat belt issue. The management at the BMW of North America is ignoring my request to speak with them about any resolution. They are holding my vehicle until the warranty expires in 40 days so they can kick my vehicle out of their shop. I have a loaner vehicle with an expired tag from weeks and I have received 5 tickets for it so far. Critz BMW dealership finally give me a sticker after many complaints.Fuel injectors failed first after a month of purchasing this vehicle and failed again after six months both times my vehicle was the dealership from 4 days to 6 days. Appointment is made for the third time and BMW is holding my vehicle from almost 28 days now at the Critz BMW dealership in Savannah, GA and they will be still holding it until two more weeks since they can’t fix the issue.Seat belt Malfunction for Passenger side not fixed after many complaints from six months and BMW is holding my vehicle from almost 28 days now and they will be holding it until two more weeks since they can’t fix the issue. The dealership is telling me that they are trying to find a way to replace the sensor under the passenger seat but BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate they issue. I can’t have a passenger or my wife in my car due to the seat belt safety issue. I told BMW USA that I will be holding them responsible for any safety issue to someone’s life due to the seat belt issue that BMW USA is not fixing and their reply was “We can’t do anything about it.”The Car is vibrating at 40MPH. BMW found Irregular tire wear on the front tires.. But I have a full warranty on all tires with BMW that I have purchased since I bought this vehicle from BMW, the warranty is based on all the road hazards and the cause of the vibration is road hazards and BMW is not replacing the tires. I have found someone else is insurance and registration in my car, someone from the Critz BMW dealership was driving my vehicle for private use since I saw the change in mileage and evidence of someone’s insurance and registration information.Engine makes big noise at the start after parked for 8 hrs or more. The backup camera is stop working sometimes and the navigation is loading slowly. It’s been six months or more that I am in contact with BMW of North America and the customer service department at BMW of North America along with their managements are ignoring the whole situation and are holding my vehicle hostage at the Critz BMW in Savannah, GA 31401 since FEB 12/2015 until the Manufacturer warranty expires in some 40 days. BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate the issue and they can’t fix it but not sure why they are holding my vehicle with them. They give me a longer vehicle with an expired Tag which I received 5 tickets so far but Critz BMW told me that they will be paying for it but I have to deal with all the frustrations. I reached out to BBB and at first they accept my case but later denied it after they contacted BMW of North America. The representative from BMW of North America told me over the phone in a sarcastic way that “Your case is denied from BBB and you have no case against us.” I contacted State of Georgia Governor’s office but no reply from them and I have also reached out to the Department of Highway safety for the seatbelt safety issue and no reply from them as will. I searched for an attorney to file a Georgia Lemon law case for me but attorneys told me that I have no case since my vehicle have 36500 Miles on it even though it’s still under full manufacturer warranty.

I own a 650I, bought it from BMW dealer, always had it serviced by BMW dealer. At around 80,000 miles after having repeated problems with transmission, I was told I needed a new transmission and it was not covered by warranty. Also was told I need engine rebuilt! And also out of warranty! This car cost over $100,000, what type of valve stem guides do they use that they wear out at such low miles, not to mention a transmission, both items last longer on a $30,000 Honda... How pathetic!I spoke with BMW North America. They refused to warranty the defective items, and if one would check the new engines in BMWs, they would find most are burning oil very prematurely because the new engine design is built with sub par parts... This is a car costing over $100,000.00. I am disgusted with this horrible excuse of a luxury vehicle and more so the haughty attitude of BMW. One more thing, the dealer I was using Checkered Flag is horrible. They returned my car after a service, 4 quarts low on oil. When I called them, they said the oil sensor was faulty, when actually it was their lazy and inept service approach. I have engaged the services of a lawyer on this one!

We were unable to turn on the hazard light to alert the other drivers. All we could do was praying that the police will show up before we get hit by other vehicles. BMW of North America has refused to accept any liabilities for the defective battery used to build the X1.

We bought a used 2007 550I from Momentum Southwest Houston BMW. It were all lies from the start. The salesman tells us the car has to have special tires, which were on the car and they installed 2 of them. On the test drive, the salesman would not show us how to use the paddle shifters SMG 6 speed. After 6 weeks of begging for a manual and spare key, we finally got a manual and key which we had to pay for. The paddle shifters do not work, as well as the driver seat thigh support motor. One cold 40 degree morning, the check engine light comes on. When my wife got home, I put my scan tool on it. The thermostat is bad stuck open and we took it to dealer as we bought warranty. The warranty company says it does not cover all pre-existing conditions. I talked to the GM at the dealer and they offered to replace the seat motor and repair the paddle shifters for free. While it was there, they call and tell us that all front and rear control arms are bad and needed to be replaced. With an alignment of roughly $2100, I told them Ill take care of the thermostat and suspension. I install lift kits in trucks for a living, and the parts for MOOG are cheaper, but the dealer wants $1800 for parts. MOOG parts at retail are $249.00, I can do the math. We can take it back there for alignment if they dont try to jerk us around for something else. I wont probably buy another one. What a **. We drive off the lot, it depreciates and needs $5000.00 worth of repairs before we get it home.

I own a 2008 335i with 50k miles. I was alerted via the mail that there was an airbag recall. When I called the 800 number and gave them my VIN I was then told it had 3 recalls. I called the closest BMW dealer to schedule repair. I was told they could not give me a loaner car even though I am an hour away and the three recalls would take all day. Upon arriving at the dealer with my wife following me in another vehicle I observed customer after customer receiving loaner vehicles for only routine service. The recalls werent my fault, BMW offered no help at their 800 number. This will be the last BMW I ever own. I own or have owned Mercedes, Porsche, Ford and GM. In this day and age vehicles have issues I understand that but BMW should have stepped to the plate and at least offered a loaner for a 7 hour repair. They did not...This review may not mean much or my one wallet may not mean much to them but they will not receive any more of my hard earned money....

I purchased a new 325i in 04 and drove it for 11 years. For the first 100,000 miles, it had absolutely zero issues. Never had to take it in unless for an oil/battery change. Overall I was very pleased with having purchased a German car, until it reached 140k miles. In a 6 month span, my 04 325i (worth only $5,000) has broken down SEVEN times. In this timeframe I have invested close to $7,000 solely in repairs. This car has broken down on the side of the road (needed new fuel pump, $700), the window motor needed to be replaced ($600), crack in radiator (had to replace entire radiator, $1,400), needed new air pump and strut replaced ($1,800) yet another radiator replacement ($1000), and finally, when I started my car the exhaust spewed white smoke with the smell of gas (hoses and valves and a gasket were replaced, $1,400). Do NOT purchase a BMW or any German car for that matter. These cars are completely unreliable and not meant to be driven for hundreds of thousands of miles. There is a reason dealerships will only cover maintenance for the first 90k miles. Dont be penny smart and dollar stupid! These foreign cars are not worth it!

I have a 2003 BMW X5 purchased new from BMW Mississauga. As I live in Ontario, we do have some cold days. On several occasions during December and January, the two front doors were frozen and I could only enter the car through the passenger door on the drivers side. After driving the X5 into a warm garage, I was able to open the two front doors after some 45 minutes. I took the vehicle to BMW Mississauga to have the two door locks repaired and I was presented with a bill for $1,010.00. To be charged anything for a BMW defect is in itself somewhat unfair, however, to be charged over $1,000 is almost criminal.

Engine rebuild after 110,000 miles - Heres the scenario. I was driving home from work and a yellow thermometer lit up on the display screen and in less than 10 seconds, a red thermometer was displayed. I pulled off the freeway and immediately felt the lack of power in the car. It felt like I was driving a 4 cylinder car. There was never any warning of low fluids or overheating before this. I filled it with BMW coolant and drove it to my mechanic. While I was driving to the mechanic, I got a low fluid warning, yellow thermometer and red thermometer within 30 seconds. My mechanic took a look at it and I have a blown head gasket, which is costing me $2200. Ive owned the car since day one and have kept up with all the maintenance, with one year out of warranty. I didnt expect this to happen. BMW has to add temperature gauges to their center display. I had no knowledge that my engine was overheating or that I was low on fluid until it was too late. Im out $2,200 and need to find alternative transportation while my car is being repaired. At this point, I would not recommend a BMW for anyone.

Purchased a tire/wheel protection plan (scam) for $1600. When I leased my X3. I returned my vehicle to Flemington BMW, where I initially leased it and went across the street and leased another from Flemington Lincoln. I was totally insulted when I received my Lease termination Inspection report only to find that the tire that I bought in to be repaired (right front - run flat) tread was measured to be 3/32. Apparently 1/32 below the acceptable wear and as a result was charged an $300. In addition to a $350 disposition fee for not leasing another BMW.My husband called BMW customer service and complained to Charles ** about what a rip off scam this was and that we wanted to see the tire they measured so can measure it to see this 1/32, when the rest of the tires were above their so called standards. I am leasing a 2017 BMW 330i BMW. I really like my BMW car. On Sunday July the 30th my daughter and her daughter three month old baby girl were in the back seat in my BMW. My daughter ask if I would stop her Wendys at 3041 Headland Dr. When my daughter got out of the car to go into Wendys her daughter was asleep. I was sitting in the first seat on my phone. After about two minutes later I heard my granddaughter crying. I opened my door to get out and to get in the back seat with my three month old granddaughter. I shut the drivers door and went to open the back door and it was locked and went back to open the drivers door which I had just got out of and it was locked also. I checked all doors and they were all locked. I was devastated. My three month granddaughter was lock in the car and crying. I could not understand this at all because my keys to the car was still in the car and the car was still running. I was so upset, I ran into Wendys to tell my daughter and to ask for help. All this time my three month old granddaughter was in the car still crying really bad. My daughter and about six other people ran out of Wendys to my car to help. Because all doors were locked a young lady had to break the back window on the BMW for us to get the door open to get my granddaughter. We got my granddaughter out ok but she did have broken glass all over her from the young lady breaking the window. Your BMW Lover.

I leased a 2014 BMW X5 at the end of December 2013. On this vehicle I have had the oil indicator light come on 5 times. Every time the light came on I brought it to the dealership. A service tech would come out, look at the light, open the hood, add oil and then reset the computer in the car and tell me that I am all set to go. The car now has 20,000 miles and on April 19th the oil indicator light came on and an error message displayed on the screen that read drivetrain malfunction. I immediately contacted my dealership as the car had a horrible shake to it and the message indicated to drive the vehicle at low speeds. I brought it in for service on April 21st which was Monday. The dealership contacted me Tuesday telling me that my engine was damaged beyond repair and it was my fault because I had not taken the car in at 10,000 miles. He then told me that the cars computer would have pinged the dealership and then I would have received a phone call to schedule a service. I told him that a call never happened and he searched on his computer and to his surprise the car indeed never pinged them and he agreed I never received the call yet I was setup for that service. He then said the car however pinged them on April 19th for a service but never prior to that validating what I had been telling him the entire time. He said I should have had an indicator light come on and the car should have pinged but he could not find a record of it. I told him that every time the indicator light came on, I brought it in and his service techs came out and took care of it and sent me on my way. I then asked him when I brought it in when the lights came on why did his service techs not know that car needed to stay for service and he replied to me that they were not trained for that, that they were only trained for top offs. I have done everything that I was supposed to do. I always brought the car in when the lights came on yet apparently the dealership doesnt train their service techs to fully understand what the vehicle needs. Now I am left with almost a $1300 monthly payment on a vehicle that has no motor and a dealership that doesnt want to take responsibility.

First, Id like to say that this Driving Experience has been the worst experience on my end. This letter is to notify you BMWNA as the manufacturer that my vehicle is once again at Fort Lauderdale BMW for the fourth time, and I will allow one more repair before my attorneys proceed with the Lemon Law of Florida State. I will also like to ask if anyone at BMWNA has any kind of consideration to at least prorate my monthly charge because of my reoccurring issues with my car. I believe thats just right being that I have to waste money, time and mostly time in traffic and off work because of this issue. Im a very unhappy customer and I will say this now and forever, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW! And everyone that I get a chance or would like to get to hear my horrible experience with BMW I will be glad to tell them of my long stressful/humiliated days. My time with BMW has been enjoying all the loaners that I have acquired since my time with BMW. I really dont know, but BMWNA keeps telling me that they have traded me out of the car twice already so they cant help me in anyway but I dont think its right for me to pay close to $1700 monthly for my car to be in the repair shop constantly. The information in red is of the lady that communicated with me that BMW OF NA cannot help me anymore, when I was having my issues with 2013 328i that the alignment was bad and BMW of Coconut Creek could not fix it. I ask for BMWNA to allow me to trade out of it because of on going issues and Margaret ** I guess said OK but its not like they give me money the first and I still carry the negative equity. Then I got into a Certified New 2011 M3 which had issues from the start. You check all service records on that 2011 M3. They changed parts and I would say out of the 9 months I was on the contract, it was in the shop 4 months. The vehicle had a stalling issue that could not be duplicated but yet parts were changed within the 3 service centers I visited. Coconut Creek BMW, Pompano Beach BMW, and Braman Bmw of Palm Beach. I got loaners so frequently that my phone would automatically sync to the Bluetooth system. Because of my numerous times at service and Margaret ** Certifying that the car would work as intended, it happened again. She first gave $1500 and the trade of my car for a certified used or new car. I said that wasnt enough because at the dealerships I went to they said the bank couldnt allow me to get in to a less expensive car so they then gave me $3500 which I thought was still a low amount being that the BMW stores could not help much so now I have a HIGHER PAYMENT WITH A CAR NOT OF MY CHOICE BUT AN EXECUTIVE DEMO, that the BMW Bank allowed me to get into because of my negative equity on the M3. But I never wanted to get rid of M3, the car was in the shop month after month and I just wouldve thought that since I was going through this issues they would have some sort of consideration and put me into the same car for the same price and not a $100,000 car not of my choice. I just want to say that when I do get the chance to leave BMW of North America I will leave running and never look back!!!BMW of North America has no consideration for your customers. I mean Im not lying of the repairs because they have my service records. I have my service records on this new 650 xDrive. This has been the worst experience and can guarantee you that I will never encourage anyone to buy a BMW and will never get myself into this mess again. Thanks but no thanks.

X28i X1 - Car with 75000 mile completely shut off in middle of traffic with catastrophic engine failure due to timing chain. We were lucky we were not killed. Cost us $8000 to replace engine (we still owe on the vehicle loan to begin with). Drove the car once and now it needs a new battery and alternator. Piece of crap and BMW should step up and reimburse us for this repair as they know this problem exists.

On July 29, 2010, I purchased a 2010 BMW 3 Series 328xi at BMW of Orland Park. The purchase included a balance of factory warranty for four years or 50,000 miles on all parts. The air conditioning was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool and I took my car to the service department on May 18, 2013. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. He also said dye will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on May 23, 2014. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. He also said it is difficult to do diagnostics for a refrigerant leak and that an oil will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool and I was charged $209.19. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on March 31, 2015. I explained to the service department rep named, Craig, that I am not willing to pay for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge again. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. I also requested that BMW, at the minimum, assist with the cost since the warranty was still active and not utilized at the initial appointment when I reported the air conditioner not working properly. I entered a caveat beneath my signature on the work order that I only agree to have the air conditioner system reviewed for subsequent repair and/or replacement. I told Craig at least four times during the consultation, I do not want to pay for an evacuation and recharge procedure.Craig told me the AC condenser could be damaged from a rock, so hell have to check out the whole system anyway, especially since its out of warranty. I explained to Craig that since the car was not out of warranty the previous two times I reported the issue, some consideration should be given to me as a customer. Craig said he will check with BMW and see if they will help pay as a good-will gesture. He said BMW would probably pay 85% of the cost. I told Craig that I am a single small woman who is financially alone and that I cannot afford to pay $300 every year for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge because I do plan to keep the car. I am planning to retire within the next five years and this is not in my budgetary agenda. Also, I explained if I were to pay $300 every year for the next five years, I would have paid to have the air conditioner system replaced.Craig responded by saying that he was not independently wealthy either. So I left my car with the understanding that every effort would be made to determine how the air conditioner system would be repaired and/or replaced. Craig called me on March 31, 2015 and asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I agreed.Craig called me on April 1, 2015 and again asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I sighed and he said, and I quote, Hey, Im trying to help you out. Were checking out the evaporator coil and trying to see if its the factory. Even though his tone was unprofessional, I agreed. It was at this conversation I began to suspect that he was not working in good faith to resolve the problem and that there is no recourse for me.Craig called me on April 2, 2015 and said he couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system or any leaks. I asked him if an evacuation and refrigerant recharge was done and he said yes. He did exactly what I asked not to be done. I told him I was not pleased that this issue was not resolved as I requested. He said he did me a favor because he charged me for only one unit of refrigerant and he put in two units. When I asked why cant the system be repaired or replaced, he said they dont know what part to repair or replace. I am so discouraged and angry that I was not given a more intelligent explanation. BMW can build machines for which they cannot repair? He said he will notate on the invoice, that next time, I will not have to pay for the diagnostics. He said maybe next time Ill get a convertible for the loaner car.Craig suggested that I pick up my car in the morning because traffic was heavy on La Grange Road that time of the evening and he wont be there. I dont use La Grange Road to travel to Ziegler BMW and I wasnt interested to seeing him considering my disappointment to the way this issue was handled. So I picked up my car within 45 minutes after being notified to do so. When I got into my car, it stunk like cigarette smoke and sweat. I was provided a loaner car in the interim. The loaner/rental car agreement for a temporary substitute vehicle indicates, No smoking or a $250.00 fine will be charged. A copy of my credit card was obtained to ensure payment should I breach the no smoking policy. However, I am not being compensated to have my car deodorized. In summation, I am extremely saddened to be treated with such disrespect and callousness. I purchased a BMW because I need a reliable car. I also chose BMW because I suspected that I would receive the kind of customer service that would equate with the kind of product I purchased. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied about this issue. I feel very uncomfortable to use BMW for any of my automotive needs. However, I am still interested receiving a satisfactory remedy from BMW as previously requested.

I have a 2008 Z4 convertible with an electronic roof mechanism. The problem I am encountering is that the roof retracts into a separate chamber that has not been designed to evacuate the water that accumulates when it rains. So what happens is that the roof motor sits in water and corrodes over time. The repairs are about two thousand dollars each time since it is extremely labour intensive to remove the roof and get to the motor. This is the second instance where I have run into this problem and the roof retraction has failed. BMW are aware this is a known problem with multiple failures each year however are unwilling to re-engineer and find a permanent fix to the problem.

BMW K1200r motorcycle - I bought the bike new in 2006; it now has 5000 miles on it and the transmission is shot. After being told by the dealer it will cost $6,000 to repair and BMW has a known issue with this transmission to the extent that they totally redesigned a new transmission that my existing clutch and associated parts will not be compatible with, they will not do anything towards customer goodwill even though they have known of this problem and never sent a notice while it was in warranty to get it checked out. I guess its true that BMW is an acronym for Bring My Wallet. This will be the last BMW anything I ever own. Such poor customer service!

We leased a brand new 2011 750Li. One month later, the car lost its power, and the engine light went on. We took it to the dealership, where it stayed for 10 days! Finally, they found the problem, fixed it, and we picked up the car. We drove the car out of the Vista Service at 11AM. At 6PM the same day, the car stalled in middle of the road. We called Vista to tow it, and the car is there for already 20 days. Nobody knows how long it will be stay there. They could not even find the problem. They kept telling us stories. After probably spending thousands of dollars out of their pockets, since it is under warranty (the car is 1 month old!), they told us that a rat got under the hood, and chewed all the wires. Now, they have blamed us for it, after a month in their body shop. Now we had to make a claim with our insurance, and pay the deductible fees for it. Meanwhile, they gave us an X5 as a loaner. A couple of days ago, we went to the supermarket, walked out, and found that the rear windshield was broken. Now, the dealership does not want to exchange the loaner, and I have to drive it with the broken window, with a 1 year old child in it, and a stroller full of glass. The insurance company is laming the dealership, and we have to pay another $500 for the window, and I even cannot exchange the cars after I paid. The worst dealership in the world. The salesperson was the best-James **, no hard feelings, you are the best! What cannot say about James ** in service department. The brand new car has been in service for more than 30 days.

I purchased a BMW X5 on August 9/15 and have had good experience with the free maintenance on an annual basis. As I approached the 4 year expire date (August 9/19) I was not able to have the vehicle service before that date. I planned to have the vehicle serviced for the last free visit on September 9/19 and was told that the agreement had expired and that there would be no further free visit. As I had initially paid more than I should have for the vehicle (including 4 free maintenance visits) I feel that the final visit should have been honored. I contacted BMW USA and they (unfortunately) will not allow any maintenance past the expiry date. This is a warning to others before you purchase a BMW - DO NOT MISS YOUR FINAL VISIT. I will not be purchasing a future vehicle from BMW.

This problem has plagued the in-dash GPS since our purchase of the 2011 X3.
This problem has plagued the in-dash GPS since our purchase of the 2011 X3. The GPS, a $2000+ options, is inaccurate and unreliable. Its colorful appearance is appealing; its directions are consistently idiotic. If you follow its suggestions, you will backtrack, adding unnecessary time and miles to your trip. The worst instance: In returning to PA from FL last summer, we were traveling North on the FL Turnpike, North of Miami. The GPS wanted us to exit the Turnpike, head west and south on the Sawgrass Expressway, and circle around, get back on the Turnpike, and retrace our course. If we had followed that route (which we knew enough not to) it would have added more than 50 miles to the trip. Locally, making a short (30 mile) trip that I do often, the GPS wants me to go North several miles on a side street, than head South on a four-lane surface road, connecting at an intersection that I would have encountered almost immediately if I had turned South instead of North on that side road. It doesnt matter which setting the GPS (fastest, shortest, etc.) was on, the directions are equally bad. My Garman, at a fraction of the cost, is reliable and almost eerily accurate on setting arrival times. The BMWs arrival time is a wild guess, usually off by 1/3 or 1/2 the total driving time. Repeated complaints and visits to our Dealership has accomplished nothing. The problem is with the manufacturer, and BMW is either unwilling or unable to correct the deficiencies. It is my contention that if BMW cannot offer a GPS commensurate with the price, it should not be offered until a reliable product befitting of the brand is available.

I bought a brand new BMW 530i in 2004. Since I am an independent consultant in the software industry and often work at home, I dont drive that much so until yesterday, it has only about 80,000 miles on it. I was driving on a bridge in San Francisco Bay Area in a slow traffic yesterday, both transmission and engine burned down suddenly (with regular maintenance). The car has been giving me troubles from the first week after I bought it. Whenever I drove in slow traffic, the on board computer will show a warning to tell me Transmission Fault. I have to pull over to turn the engine off and turn it back on again; otherwise, I cant drive it.My BMW - I was told the three letters can be translated into Dont Touch Me into Chinese - finally dead yesterday. I paid $400 to tow it to a BMW (dont touch me!) dealership near where I live, and just got a call from them and told me the total cost to repair is more than $16,000. I am filling a form online to donate the BMW junk to a charity now. In my will, I will ask my son not to buy Dont touch me in his life, and ask him to tell his son not to do so neither.

I have bought a CPO BMW 2011 328i back in April 2013 at McKenna BMW in Norwalk, California. Since day one the sales advisor was unable to do a check list with me, a bad start. I had to go back three times and ask the service advisors on how to work my vehicle. Then, not even a month later I went back for the bottom trim on the back windshield that was coming loose. McKenna repaired the trim and not even a week later it came out again. I took it back a second time, repair it again and here we go, not even a week later the trim is loose. Finally, they got it right the third time around. Now, the trim is fix. Let’s move on to the brake light inside the car that came loose. The car went back to the dealership for that repair. Two week later I found a loose plastic in the bottom part of the passenger seat, so here we go again to the dealership. They got it fixed. Not even a month later I noise started to come out from the front of the vehicle every time I exited my drive way. I took it to McKenna three times and finally the foreman ** was able to identify there was actually a noise from the suspension. McKenna kept the car for more than a weeks without any follow ups with me. I would have to call to know an update and every time I was told they were unable to duplicate the noise. I told the foreman specifically on how to duplicate the noise, and they kept saying we can’t hear it. I called BMW of North America and a Field Technician came down to the dealership and check the vehicle and I was advice unable to duplicate. Keep in mind all of these problems in less than five months with my car. All McKenna had to say is “We cannot do anything about getting you into another car. We are sorry you are having problems; there is nothing we can do for you.” I have been talking to ** Executive Consumer Care from BMW of North America and all he has to say is “Keep the car. If we can find the noise before your 50k the warranty will fix it. But if not you are liable for the cost of repairs.”

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i CPO. I bought the car with only 39000 miles on it. I have 67000 miles now. I was told the car had 6 years and 100000 miles of warranty on it. When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

At the end of the 4th year, my front windshield rubber sealer started cracking and falling off - small cracks on the back window as well. I talked to my dealer and I was told, It is normal. Ive never had such normal experience with other vehicles - Ford, Nissan, Lexus and Benz. It is not covered under warranty. I was told it is not even a service provided at the dealership. Id be better off if I just call an auto glass shop. I strongly advise BMW to use better material for the sealer.

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i and it comes with CPO. I also paid for maintenance program up to 6 years or 100,000 miles. So the BMW NA and dealer should really take good care of the car until 2012, right? Nope! Right after my warranty expired, which was Feb 2012 and did 100,000 services, the dealer listed over one hundred things that need to be taken care right away. My car broke down twice on the road (fuel injection systems and transmission fail) and I have complained those issues (27 services record for 4 years), plus more (line motor oil burns too fast and the dealer answered me that its normal right after the warranty). The dealer warned me and now reported: 1. Rec replace sealing sleeve assembly (found sealing sleeve assembly leaking) - Fail $901.47 X. 2. Replace valve cover gasket (found engine oil leak) - Fail $2,376.13 X. 3. Previously declined recommendations status. 4. Replace blushing caution $1,076.50. 5. Perform power steering system fluid exchange service caution $169.00.6. Perform coolant fluid exchange service caution $199.99.BMW CPO is a fraud. I just keep asking and the dealer declines, stalls for the mechanic issue and not fix it. I believe Consumer Affairs should look into it. I called and wrote an email to BMW NA customer relations. They changed the rep and even used lousy excuses. They said I did not pick up the phone. After a callback and not returning my call, they changed the rep and sent me another email. Speechless. I just want to share my experience with all Beamer owners and a warning to those want to become a Beamer owner.

To all that might take an interest in this; this is my first time posting on any consumer complaint forum. So hopefully people dont make the mistake of purchasing a 2009-2014 BMW with an N63 engine and affects five different vehicle classes. These cars are lemons with a long history of mechanical problems, and a class action lawsuit filed in 2015 for excessive oil consumption, drained batteries, and other problems affected by the oil cooled parts inside the car. Visit: ** to see full notice of the court documents, and full story. The final date for filing any paperwork to claim your vehicle under the class action was October 10th 2018. Too bad BMW has failed to properly notify owners about this, and still continue to sell these cars without advising anyone about the litigation behind them.In August 2016 I purchased a used 2012 BMW 750LI M Sport with 38,482 miles. The car was sold to me by a private dealership in Los Angeles, and was a one owner lease return that originated from BMW of Santa Monica, CA. The car had a clear title, and free of defects, and I paid 42K out the door price with tax & extended warranty to protect me through 100K miles for any possible mechanical issues that could arise with the car. Since that time Ive had nothing but problems since I bought it that started with minor things like ignition coils, spark plugs, and check engine lights. Excessive oil consumption was noticed immediately the first year I owned it, and constantly had to top off the oil. Ive meticulously maintained the car since Ive had it and always taken to a certified BMW mechanic. The BMW service centers I dont trust as far as I can throw them, and use a preferred & HONEST BMW mechanic. In July 2018 I took my car into the shop to diagnose several issues going on with the car which now has 92K miles. I wanted to have my mechanic check everything including doing a brake fluid flush, and oil change prior to making another drive into Southern California from Nevada where I currently live. After inspection my mechanic mentioned that the motor was falling apart; The car had leaking turbo hoses, upper oil pan gasket leak, bad steering pump, excessive oil consumption problems, and the engine valve stem seals were shot and explained why smoke would come out of the tailpipe during cold starting, and lastly an electric short underneath the drivers seat that scorched the material underneath and could have caught fire at some point had it continued. In all I was facing $15,000 dollars to complete all repairs. We contacted my extended warranty company who handled the situation great. Due to the extent of the engine problems they sent out an adjuster to verify everything and audited my service records to ensure the car had been properly maintained, and also had video scope photos taken inside the engine of oil cooled timing chain to verify there was no engine deposits or oil gunk build up. It was clean as a whistle, and they indicated since the repairs exceeded the value of new engine they authorized a complete engine replacement in addition to fixing the electrical problems with my seat. The engine was ordered through a BMW dealership in Las Vegas NV in August, and now here we are in November 2018 and still no sign of the engine or status on when we can expect to receive it. Since July Ive had a loaner, and paid out of pocket for extensive rental fees, paying for an auto loan on a car that I cant even drive with still $24K left on it, and have had to register the vehicle as non-operable with the state DMV.After repeated attempts to get a status on the engine by myself personally and my mechanic to get a status on the replacement engine; we still have no information, and appears to be no end in sight. The only reasoning behind the delay of the engine is that they cant find anyone to make a drive camshaft on this motor. The third party company that used to make this part went out of business and they have no alternative currently. Sounded like complete B.S. to me, and I called them on it stating that it sounded like an excuse. At this point Im extremely pissed off, and decided to email BMW Group Germany to ask them if they really cared about their customers. I found the CEO & other executive level members of BMW email addresses including their press secretary. I emailed them and demanded a response to this nonsense with the engine replacement.A couple days later I received a voicemail from a Craig ** @ BMW North America customer care stating that he was calling because I was interested in a RE-PURCHASE of the vehicle. I had missed the call because I was on a business trip. I had no clue what a re-purchase entailed or what the qualifications were, but it was something that THEY suggested. I called back the very next morning which was on a Friday, and he didnt answer so left a message to call me back as soon as possible to discuss what hed mentioned on my voicemail. He waited three days to call me back and returned my call on October 10th 2018. We discussed the re-purchase over the phone which entailed buy back 100% of the vehicle financing, maintenance, and oil used for the car that I had to top off constantly. I loved that option and expressed my interest to get me out of this situation. He said that unfortunately the deadline had passed to have my paperwork submitted under the class action settlement... I said What settlement? I had no clue what he meant. He then said yeah youre calling about the class action lawsuit right? I told him that nobody had ever notified me at any point by mail, phone, or email about a class action lawsuit. Confused he said that well the deadline is October 10th is the deadline to have your request submitted for compensation under the class action. I told Craig that You know today is October 10th right?; He confirmed this and said that there was nothing he could do to consider me for the class action since it was past the deadline as of that day, and apologized for the inconvenience. So I contact BMW - Germany, they contact Craig ** @ BMW North America to ask me about a re-purchase, and then only to tell me that Im past the deadline and theres nothing he could do. WTF? How does this make any sense? Why am I now just finding out about this class action lawsuit?? I became more irate and phoned the BMW dealership that we ordered my new engine from, and demanded to talk to a service manager or parts department manager. I told them on the phone that during this whole time my car has been in the shop, and wed been asking for a status on the engine, or alternatives to put me into another car. I asked them directly if they knew about this class action lawsuit pertaining to my engine? When I cornered them they paused on the phone & said... Yes we knew about it. I said then, Why did you not say anything about it this whole time?? Why was this kept a secret or not disclosed? The person at BMW stated that they were instructed by higher ups not to say anything about it to owners because it was in litigation, and the car owners would be notified at the appropriate time. They continued the same story about the drive camshaft holding up the production of these replacement motors, and that there was roughly 185 of these engines on back order in the entire country. WOW... talk about a cover up right? I hung up the phone on him, and proceeded to email BMW Group Germany again explaining what I just found out, and that dealerships are hiding this information from people to minimize their exposure & loss due to the class action. The very next day after I sent that 2nd email I got a call from Craig ** @ BMW North America again stating that theyd be willing to review my case again as a re-purchase option. I proceeded to email Craig my entire file from the shop that we gave my extended warranty company, and all associated service records. Craig said hed send it out to his field team to be reviewed and a determination would be emailed to me once they made their decision on the matter. After waiting a week I emailed Craig to get a status on the re-purchase decision. He contacted me saying that BMW North America had reviewed my case and have declined to approve my re-purchase request. He would not give any reason as to WHY they were rejecting it, and would not tell me who this field team was. He said he was not able to name the individuals or dealerships that make the decision for their Protection. Protection from what??They also noted on the rejection letter that their last record of service/maintenance records was in February of 2017 which was not true. I had my car serviced at my own BMW certified mechanic, and provided records for that work done, but BMW refused to acknowledge that in their letter to me. So now here are the facts.BMW continues to sell these vehicles and dealerships are intentionally not advising people that there is litigation behind them starting in 2015 when the class action was filed. BMW offered an N63 Customer Care Package at one point to put a band aid on the problem; not calling it a recall, but just making the cars last long enough to make it out of their factory warranties leaving them not liable past that point. BMW has not provided any information or status on when new engines that are paid for out of pocket or by warranty are due to be received. Stating a drive camshaft issue is preventing delivery of these engines with no end in sight. As a consumer I AM SCREWED. No car for almost 6 months, and no money to buy a new one or sell this one to get out of my current loan so I can buy something else. Without delivery of this motor my car is worthless, and no options. BMW Group Germany and BMW North America have zero control of this situation, and dealerships refusing to help take ownership of these problems. This is consumer fraud at its finest, and deliberate false statements, misinformation, are being fed to the public about these N63 motors. The 2009-2014 N63 motors are an aging group entering into high mileage and engines are crapping out with less than 100K miles on them. This is snake oil folks, and BMW knows it. The class action settlement proves the excessive oil consumption problems, and now these same engines are failing with the valve stem seals resulting in repair costs that exceed a new engine cost. They have not done their best to advise the public of this and Im sure theres hundreds of people that might be able to relate to my story. If you have purchased one of these vehicles recently from a dealer, or have extensive repairs resulting in the requirement of a new engine that BMW is not delivering on please email me immediately so we can talk. Right now I know three other people in the Las Vegas area that are affected by this. We need others in the country to step forward & share your story and put a stop to this. BMW & Car Dealerships have screwed the public long enough, and now they need to take ownership of a crappy mass produced product theyve put out into the market. Even if you buy an extended warranty youre still not safe; BMW does not have an answer for this, and if you need an engine replacement youll be waiting until next year. The biggest issue here is that BMW knows that their warranties are nowhere even close to sufficient with the well known documented issues behind these cars. They continue to sell these vehicles used and keep the information hidden from consumers. This is fraud! Look at the new class action filed this November 18. The brand new BMW 335i N55F30 was purchased in April 2012, registered on May 4, 2012 has been handed over to BMW RAK service due to vibrations and some kind of noise from the front on 15/05/2012. The car has done only 3,000 Km. After inspection and balancing the wheels at RAK, the serviced car was returned to me with 80 gram weight on the front right side on 17/05/2012 (80 grams weight on an alloy wheel is too much even for any standards). After driving for a few kilometers, noise and vibration was noticed again and the same was reported immediately to the service supervisor Mr. **. The car was returned back to RAK service station on 19/05/2012 morning. On 20/05/2012, the car has been sent to Sharjah service station for further investigations. This car is still with Sharjah, UAE service station and they were unable to figure out the issue! This is a new car and such bad quality product from BMW is not acceptable to me. I need to know how I can get full refund! I do not need a new car as I am not sure about the new 335i. Repeated email and phone calls to BMW have no result. The sales executive who has sold the car to me also made it clear that he is helpless! What is happening with all the quality that is being boosted by BMW? Please, someone help with your suggestion on how to go about this issue. Thanks in advance.

BMW decided to charge me an extra months payment after the trade-in of my car. I didnt even own the car at that point. Couldnt drive it, couldnt see it. Of course customer service was condescending trying to make me feel like I am stupid for request my funds returned for an item I didnt have use over. From one to the other rep I spoke with didnt even know the correct policies of the company for different situations. I got the runaround. Learn from my mistake, avoid BMW!

I have owned my 1995 BMW 740i since I graduated High school and received it as a graduation gift. The car now has 145,000 miles on it and is still running. BUT along the way it has developed bad valves and valve guides, the transmission has started to shift hard sometimes and I believe it has developed a rod knock. Yes the car is exceptionally comfortable and all the electronics still work, and is very fun to drive for a 2.2 ton luxury sedan, but a $65,000 car should not have these kinds of issues at 145,000 miles. These cars are very complicated and do have problems as a result, but they should not be having MAJOR mechanical problems 3/4 of the way through their life. I also realize that if youre going to drop that kind of money on a car you should be able to afford the repairs, and luckily I can, but I shouldnt have to!! I just want a luxury car that isnt in the shop every week, my Mercedes was a COMPLETE piece of junk (and it was new) and my 3 year old Audis tanny went out at 56,000 miles. So its sad to say but honestly my BMW has been my most reliable, and thats not saying much.

On Sunday, my son, whom drives a 2008 328xi was driving, when all of a sudden, abs, dcs and critical engine malfunction lights came on and the car shut off. He swerved off the road and managed not to hit anything or anyone. The people behind him were all ok as well. God was watching my child. We towed the car to BMW and when they called me with an estimate I was shocked. I asked one question, why was there no warning lights that would warn him that his engine was going to malfunction? I was told, sometimes a person wakes up in the morning and by the afternoon they had a heart attack and die. Wow! When I said that my child was the one driving, I was told, if I cared so much about my child, I should think about putting my child in a newer car that does not have 111,000 miles on it. No words! When I purchased the car 4 years ago, it had 50,000 miles on it. The salesman told me that a BMW engine just starts to put at 100,000 miles. Funny, how when something goes wrong, then its an old car. Currently, there are 57 BMWs around me that are being sold at BMW dealerships with mileage over 100,000 and they are not cheap. I am upset and saddened that a BMW service tech would be as insensitive and a whole lot more.

I have a BMW 435i and just had to put it in the shop for drivetrain/engine malfunction for the 2nd time. This will, no doubt, be another $2k. BMWs are by far the most overrated, unreliable cars in the world. I am selling it as soon as it is fixed and getting a Toyota Tacoma. Cant wait to get a reliable car/brand.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i and experienced the same issue that is being recalled on the 2010- 012 models. I now own a CPO 2011 335i and the starting my car sounds as if the car hasnt been cranked in 2 months. While in park the engine is super loud and revs for no apparent reason. The dealerships are nothing but vacuums for money. After having a tire replaced for the 2008 at one dealership, the water pump failed less than 5 feet of the service garage door; but I was told this was normal and could happened. Please note that the car never had any warning signs of overheating or loss of a/c power or anything. This was $1200 to fix. The service manager was smug and uninterested in my concerns. His only offer was to allow me to leave my car on their premises and charge me a fair rate for renting a car. On the same 2008 model, I was driving on the expressway and out of the blue my car loses engine power and goes into safe mode. This was $800 to fix. I contacted BMW customer care and the rep couldve cared less, telling me I was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. If this automaker cared anything for their customers they would deliver superior products and superior customer service. Unfortunately, this automaker fall short on both.

I got scammed by BMW. I entered into a 2-year lease in 2016. Few months before the lease ends, I purchased additional miles. I was told that any unused miles will be refunded. I returned my car yesterday and guess what, they refused to refund my unused miles. However, they found my left rear tire was a little bit more used than the other ones and they charged me $300. Plus the extra $350 fee to close the lease...Not only that but last year, I was in Europe for a month or so and totally forgot to pay my monthly charge, was 30 days late and paid as soon as I came back to the US and opened my mail. That was the only late payment I had during my entire lease. Well guess what, BMW reported it right away and my credit score got impacted so bad it prevented me to purchase a house. I wrote a letter to try to solve this issue, they ignored it. BUT the sales team kept harassing me to try to sell me a new lease... Yeah, you guys can keep trying. I dont want to deal with BMW EVER again!

I will never buy a BMW again. Overpriced and the quality is not present anywhere. Difficult to upkeep and customer service is nearly nonexistent at dealership AND corporate level. I bought a 320i and was so excited to run around with the BMW logo - until realized the logo was ALL I was getting. The car is subpar to my old Geo Metro from the 90s I had as a kid. NOT EXAGGERATING. As the first owner and the car is ONLY A YEAR OLD, it shouldnt have all the problems its been having. I had to buy new tires (yes, that quickly) because they come with run flats which go bald quickly. To boot, I couldnt have my usual family friend replace them because I needed some special BMW tire bolt remover to get them off. Took forever to get this bolt remover because it didnt come with the car and I ended up missing a weekend trip because I felt unsafe driving on bald tires.Engine stalls sometimes when first starting car in the a.m., door lock mechanism has broken a few times, and most of all: The car terrifies me on curvy roads on the freeway (cant have full control of the steering wheel during high speed curves on the freeway). I am terrified Im going to die in this car - Ive gone back to the dealer multiple times to tell them the steering wheel sticks on high speed turns and they only tell me they cant find the problem - because they arent looking for it!!! They just want my money and care less about fixing this car under the warranty. And I cant afford to get another car while saddled with this one or ruin my credit by dumping it because Im trying to buy a house. So I just avoid going far in this car or rent vehicles when I need to drive long distance. Ridiculous. But wait! Theres more! Every time I go make a payment online, the website is down or Im being asked to authenticate my same device I always use. Beyond annoying. I have to call customer service to pay, which is always a 20 min wait because their site never works. So EVERYONE is calling in and I go thru that EVERY MONTH just to pay my hard earned money for a car Im scared to drive! It has been a complete nightmare owning this car and BMW doesnt care. I have told my family if I die on any curvy roads to have the steering issue looked into and sue the daylights out of them. DO NOT BUY A BMW!

I sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Service/Relations ([email protected]) including a couple of pictures of my X5. Searching on the web it is clear this issue is present on these model year cars. Today, I was contacted by RuthAnn, BMW Customer Representative, and she basically stated that all they can do is to log a complaint. My 2002 X5 is well over the 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and there is nothing that BMW can do. I explained that this was clearly defective workmanship on the part of BMW given the amount of problems on these model years, but she stated this issue was due to the elements and I should take my car to the dealer to make an assessment of the problem. However, even if the dealer determines it is due to a bad paint job from BMW, there is nothing BMW can do since the car is out of warranty. I tried to explain that I have had cars from Ford and Nissan older than my X5 and they never presented a paint peeling problem. Yet, here I have a luxury car with less years than my old cars where the paint work is peeling away with no warranty coverage. No response there. At the end all I was able to get is to have the complaint logged and be disappointed by BMW once again.

So I leased a 2020 430 convertible in July 2019. A month later driving the car in 90° weather after two hours of driving the air-conditioning broke. Brought the car back to the dealership, they said the problem was fixed. A month later same situation. Brought it back, he said it was fixed. The following summer in 90° weather same situation after a few hours of driving air-conditioning stopped. Brought it to a different dealership, problem was fixed, it was not. Currently two weeks ago in June, driving back from the Jersey shore and 98° weather I stopped at a rest stop and left my daughter and my dog in the car. When I came back I found that the air conditioner had stopped, my daughter who has down syndrome, my dog suffered mild heatstroke. Contacted Bmw multiple times. They tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. And have yet to buy me out of my lease. So worst company ever, this car is a lemon. There’s nothing but problems with these BMWs. Please will be highly appreciated to have your involvements since I have noticed few serious issues which I felt it is worth highlighting it to you all. Basically, it is really disappointing to see a poor support from Local agent in Sultanate of Oman for BMW. As everyone knows BMW is worldwide class, well known and reliable vehicle. However, due to poor service it leads us to question the quality/performance of the car. The reasons of saying that as below: Whenever you take your car for service or collecting you have to wait 45 min as a minimum even if you have an appointment or ready for collection! A lot of failures and repair is costly as well, so I am not sure is it because of the vehicle not reliable or the mechanics that are available is not qualified to maintain such car? I have noticed several times, we simply receive an estimate asking for replacement, never came across for a simple repair, so is that the direction just simply change and charge for spare parts which are very high with no doubt compared where else? I would kindly request you to investigate and advise accordingly, since I am currently having two BMW: 1) X5, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFE81039L094909, Engine# 50884258. I stopped taking it for service with agent since Dec 2014 due to the above reasons; and 2) X6, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFG810X9L280666, Engine# 20794348.

I purchased a BMW 5 series, new, on July 10, 2010. The car is 1 1/2 years old. It has been in the service center of Vista BMW, which is where I purchased it from, more than I have driven it. First of all, when I purchased the vehicle I was not informed I had run-flat tires on the car, nor was I offered a replacement warranty option. Naturally I did not think I had run flat tires on the vehicle since there is a full size spare tire in the trunk, which cars with run flat tires on it typically do not have. Then of course I have had multiple problems with the tires and the computer that registers the pressure in the tires. I brought my car to Vista BMW service several times and they kept resetting the computer system so the tire pressure did not register low pressure, never telling me I had problems with my tires. After the pressure light came on for the 10th time, I brought the car to an independent tire dealership, they put the car on a lift and showed me the tires. The front tire had a nail in it and that was why it was losing tire pressure and both rear tires had the steel belts sticking out of them and thats why the tire pressure indicator kept coming on. Yet I had brought the car to Vista BMW on many different occasions and never once did they inform me of the problems with the tires.Leaving me in a dangerous situation everyday, driving this vehicle. I ended up replacing the tires with regular tires after having the car for 1 year at my own expense. The other major problem I have had since I purchased the car, is the constant internal squeaking of the car, which sounds like all the doors are loose from the inside. The squeaking is so loud you can hear it over the radio. Again, I have brought my car into Vista BMW service and they claim the seal on the doors needed teflon tape to stop the squeaking. They proceeded with the repair and the noise was gone for a couple of months. The noise returned and I returned to Vista BMW service. I was then told 2 different solutions by 2 different service advisers. One adviser said the seals of the doors needed to be replaced, the other said no, that they were going to tape it again because that was what the manufacturer suggested, which is what they did, placed tape again. The noise was gone only to return a couple of months later. I believe I went back again another time for the same problem. I have to review my service tickets. I just brought the car in again to Vista BMW service on January 26, 2012 because the doors were squeaking again and I was having other problems which have still not been fixed ; (replaced windshield wipers, which dont clean the windshield and are extremely noisy, asked to have wiper fluid put in at service appointment, they put in plain water, interior vanity light out, still not replaced, and on curves a yellow light on my dash board which is a circle with a triangle in the middle flashes, I have brought the car in for this several times and it still has not been fixed).I spoke directly to the service manager at Vista BMW, Don ** and he reviewed my complaints, which he assured me would be taken care of. I have not heard from anyone since the car was dropped off on the 26th. Today is January 28, I called Vista BMW service today and asked for the service manager and was told he would call me back. A valet from Vista BMW called me back and started reading off my ticket of what was addressed, yet had no knowledge of me or what has been happening with my car. The service manager assured me on when I dropped the car off that the door seals would be replaced, not taped again. I asked the valet again to please have the service manager call me back about my car.Mr. Don called me back today and told me they taped up the doors again. I began telling Mr. Don what he had told me, that the door seals would be replaced as well explaining all the unresolved problems I have had with the car. He expressed that he did me a favor by getting involved in this particular situation and that he test drove my car and the squeaking noise was gone. I expressed to him again that he assured me that the seals would be replaced and not taped. His response was, “Fine, we will replace the seals but I can not promise the squeaking noise will not happen again on the interior of the car.”I expressed to him the car is 1 1/2 years old and still under warranty and this should not be the case. Mr. Dons response was, “Well, thats the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it. We will not replace your car and you are in no position to declare Lemon Law on your car since you have 30,000 miles on the car.” I told him I never mentioned Lemon Law and wanted my car fixed once and for all. When I asked him about the other problems I brought my car in about, his response was, “I did not read your service ticket so I dont know.”I am beyond frustrated, I have never had a new car in service as much as my BMW, I have also never had such poor service from a car dealership. This is my first BMW and will be my last. I had several Honda cars, new, and never had a problem with these cars or the service and I spent half the price on the car. Is it too much to ask to have your car fixed properly? Or that a new vehicle not have a multitude of problems?

I have a very high threshold for dissatisfaction, but my recent experience with BMW caused me to take the time to document my experience as I wanted to share how bad it was with as many consumers as possible to save you from the same experience. I have spent over $400K on five 7-series cars over the last 15+ years as an extremely loyal BMW buyer. My current $100K+ 750iL just passed over 65K miles and the extended warranty expired and to my surprise, mechanical issues have not stopped materializing! I contacted BMW NA to find out what $400K over 15+ years of loyalty meant to them. Evidently, it means nothing! They pushed me to a call center rep who was clueless and of zero assistance, and she kept to the script. I guess BMW feels that everyone will just cave and do nothing when they are pushed aside. It shocks me that in the current environment where brand loyalty is critical to the corporate bottom line, BMW obviously feels that someone in their mid-40s who will be in their target market for the next 40 years has no value. I wonder if Mercedes and Audi feel the same way? Extremely dissatisfied in Barrington!

Im a BMW lover and now owner of a 328xi series. I wouldnt have ever thought that I would become a lover of BMW knowing my dream was to have a drop top four door Lexus. But once my husband brought me to your curious dealership to test drive one of your 3 series model, I was sold. The car drove like it knew me and the sales associate made my drive easier by informing me about the developed and smart function on the vehicle. I was impressed and sold. I went home cooking and buyer way into my husband heart to get that 328xi. I guess it worked because the next week I drove my new man home. I loved my car until after driving it for four months. I’ve been to the Oyster Bay Dealership three times due to the malfunction sign that continues to show up on my dash board. I drove around stopping female BMW owner wondering if the malfunction sign appears on their dash any time they place their bag down, and they informed me that it does occur. I was so disappointed to hear this. I went online and noticed that BMW is # 6, in the top driven car selected by woman at 60.31 percent. I was also shocked to see that too. I think BMW is a great car for woman considering its sex appeal and the smart and easy functions. But now I understand why this is true. The car insides arent accessible for woman. Women need car that is enjoyable on the inside. Many women also work, manage to take of our kids and would like to be sexy at the same time. Its very disappointing when you have everything you want except what you need. Women are go getter too and we are growing every day. If you do a survey within your company and ask the men to ask their wifes where they place their hand bags, Im sure they would say on the front seat. Women have grown to be great consumers in the world now. We like to buy what we like. Studies show that one legacy of this recession is that women become a majority of the work force for the first time in American history. This information should give you more insight on how important it is to please a woman, will do whatever it take to feel complete and to be happy. Im writing to you today not only to complain, but to express the inconvenience it is for me to drive from Canarsie in Brooklyn to Oyster Bay, Long Island about 3 times out of four months to correct this malfunction issue. I continually think each time I get in the car, if something is wrong and is this car safe to drive God forbids if an accident occurs. Im very understanding the first time but the third time, I was in tears because I started to believe I received a used car, not an off the showroom car. Please believe that it wasnt easy for me to write this letter because Im a woman of patience. But it’s not easy for a married woman with children that has three jobs then have to drop what Im doing or take off from work to drive nearly an hour away just to get this problem fixed. I understand that your job is to deliver a car that make sense, drive smoothly, have a sleet look, economy friendly and safe. I must say BMW has all of those qualities except the nice accessory for a womans hand bag, preferably a hook on the side that slide in or out that we can place our hand bags. I believe this will bring your company in first place on the charts where it belongs and make us women a little happier. Thank you.

I took my brand new BMW to the dealer for a car wash. It was significantly scratched. The dealer Unilaterally decided it wasn’t them. I called BMW North America and reported the issue. The dealer Downtown BMW of Denver sales manager called me, yelled at me and now I am banned from having my car serviced there altogether. Bmw North America told me they were sorry but there was nothing they can do. Each dealer is owned individually. So now may car has significant damage and I can no longer have it washed as I was promised with my maintenance package.I bought the car at Schomp. I purchased the protectant package which I paid $700 for to find out it wasn’t applied. They are refusing to refund my money even though at this point I can’t have the protectant applied because the car is so damaged. Essentially bmw doesn’t care about their customers. I bought a BMW 5 series. I Started having problems with a Misfire and shakes in the wheel and wiper issues along with navigation and AC issues. I reported all these issues before the end of the Manufacturers warranty which would have covered all these repairs. During that time I was told nothing wrong. Brought it back again and they said nothing wrong. Of course after the warranty expires, the first time I brought it back they found the issue. They had me to pay for all these experiments to solve the problems and now in my pocket about $3000. In all this time I stressed that I shouldnt have to pay because its ongoing repairs that should have been fix but never was. They still insisted on my paying for all repairs. That have not stand up to the warranty and did not do anything to my satisfaction. At the moment I am risking my life every moment I am on the highway because when Im switching lanes, I get stuck in slow motion most times and this can cause the car approaching from behind to collide and cause very serious damages or DEATH. BMW does not care even though I stressed these concerns every time. STAY AWAY FROM ALL BMWs!!!

I purchased a BMW 228i from a authorized BMW dealer and right after one year with 12000 miles on it the original Pirelli tires on the car split from the sidewall. I know for sure that I didnt hit the curb or anything and the car is always garaged. When I spoke with BMW they said they cant do anything about it and you need to contact dealer. So I contact my deal and he said since you didnt purchased any tire warranty with us we cant do any thing and you need to pay $400 to replace the tire. Since it was important I went ahead and spend $400 for just one tire. Now its a month passed and the exactly same thing happened on another tire and this time I again contacted BMW asking if there is any manufacturing defect with the tire or wheels. They opened the case and asked me that we will take 3 days to revert back with the case. Its already 1 week passed and they never bother to revert back to me on whats going on with the case. Couple of days back I called customer service and they said its being assigned to the service manager Matt ** in BMW and if you want you can call at his extension otherwise he will revert back to you. I called at his extension 3 times. Left a voice message but they just dont bother to at least call me back and tell me we are working on it. It feels like they just dont care about they customers, not sure if they are working in the office or not. THE MOST PATHETIC customer service from such a big company. Now that not over, this time I went to discount tires for this tire issue and they said if you are at tread count lower than 2/32 (which is 8/32 since the new tires are at 10/32) since you purchase the new car which and if it is a run flat tires Pirelli (Original tires from BMW) will replace it for free and if the tread count is lower than that (8/32) it will calculated as pro rated basis. They called Pirelli themselves and give me after pro rated calculation. They gave me $100 back and also replaced it with new tires. Now when this happened to my another tire neither BMW or their authorized dealer (Ralph ** BMW), that you will get the pro rated amount back. It felt like Ive been cheated by BMW and their authorized dealer.

Purchased a CPO 2006 X3 with 13K on it in 2006. Car now has 103K on it. First time buy of a BMW for us. Have owned many different brands (Ford, GM, Dodge, Audi, Honda) and I have never had anywhere near the range of problems that the BMW has had with any of them. Car was back at the dealer every 3 months like clockwork over a 3 year period for a different failure each time. Everything was fixed under the extended warranty that comes with the CPO cars (thanks God!!) and the dealer has been very good at fixing each problem. But due to the wide variety of failures, whatever confidence I had in the ultimate driving machine is long gone. Car is used for commuting to work daily for my wife and has always been garaged. The list of failures fixed under warranty: Torn engine mount, Sunroof controller failed, heated steering wheel failed (which also required a new airbag due to chaffed wires in the steering wheel), failed engine computer, failed rear wiper motor, water in the high mounted LED brake light, failed drivers seat position memory module, rear passenger door lock failed, broken rear coil spring and there is an oil leak around the oil filter housing (something that I learned is very common and an $800 repair at the dealer). The things that I had to fix myself once the car came off warranty: Failed front drive shaft CV joint because the boot cracked and slung out all the grease and the other rear coil spring broke. While replacing the drive shaft I found that the steel used in the car is very cheap. I sheared off a bolt head like it was made of butter while removing the front suspension strut. BMW makes very nice cards out of very poor materials. The interior of the car is not holding up too well either. The seat vinyl is cracking and some of the bezels around the switches in the door panels are peeling off a layer of plastic. Last BMW Ill ever buy.

Bought 2013 BMW X3 for $50K+. If the car works fine, I would not have any complaints. However, it is not the story. This car costs too much to drive. So far, I have replaced fog light bulbs twice broken in driver side every time. The car does not have spare tire. Therefore, you have to use run-flat tires, which is $400+ each. For run-flat tires, there is no warranty at all. I replace all four tires two months ago and two months later, one tire got a crack. Since it does not have warranty, I have to buy another $400+ tire again. BMW tries to save every penny by transferring cost to their customers. It is not a company to consider customers as the first priority. They try to squeeze money from their customers as much as possible. Will never buy BMW cars again and will never do any business with them again. I learn the lesson through a hard way. Hope you would not make same mistakes as I did. It is a really painful experience.

I bought a 2000 R1100RT with 84k miles on the clock in July. I was not sure about changing from a cruiser to a sport touring bike. All summer long, when I went to the barn, I kept grabbing the RT. I put over 6k miles on this bike over the past three months, including a canyon carving expedition into the Smokies in August. It's easy to ride, comfortable and quick. Just trying to figure out why I waited so long to trade in my cruiser for a sport touring bike.

I purchased a BMW 318ti in December 2009. I started experiencing a never ending coolant problem on the car since July 2010 and until at present. In over a year, Ive spent the total amount of R26475.05 trying to get this problem resolved. Every three to four months, the car has the same problem. Every time I take it to a BMW dealer, they never take responsibility for the previous work or parts that was replaced on the car. They double charged me, and I cannot seem to get the problem resolved. The car has been booked in numerous times; if a service is requested to be done on the car, they claim they have done full diagnostic tests on the car. So, how come I have to fork out a fortune every three to four months to fix the car?

I have a 2004 BWM X5 4.4, sticker price of just under $66K in 2004 dollars. In August 2014 I installed a BMW trailer hitch so I could tow my travel trailer. I ordered the wiring harness for the lights at that time. They had been on BO nationally and in Germany for months at that point. Today Im told by BMWNA customer relations that BMW will no longer be providing that part for the older X5s. Im SOL.Its past their mandatory 10 federal regulation, so if you dont like it buy a new model to tow anything with. I currently own: 1999 BMW M Coupe, 2004 BMW X5, 2005 BMW K 1200LT. Previous: 2007 BMW K1200GT, 2002 BMW K1200RS, 2009 BMW R1200GS, 1995 BMW 318, 2004 BMW 750. Do you think I will buy another one? Is this any way to treat customers? Is a 10 Year old $66K vehicle really disposable? Shame on BMW for their practices and policies. Anyone else interested in filing a class action lawsuit?

The factory warranty on my 2007 335i convertible expired on June 2, 2011. On May 31, 2011, I took my vehicle to Bloomfield BMW, because the radio would intermittently go off by itself and would not come back on for approximately 15-20 minutes. The dealer was not able to duplicate the problem at that time and no repairs were made. I also reported that there was a squeaking noise coming from the front wheels as well as an unbalanced ride. The dealership provided me with the same diagnosis for this issue. I have in my possession the invoice provided by the dealership during this visit which clearly lists my reports of these specific issues. When my vehicles factory warranty expired 2 days after my visit, I purchased the extended warranty for $1400 from BMW. A few months later, I brought my car in again with the same complaints and received the same resolution. On May 30, 2012, I took my vehicle to BMW of Morristown and reported these same issues. After diagnosing my vehicle, they determined that the entertainment computer was going bad which cost approximately $1300 to repair. It was also determined that the squeaking noise from the front end was being caused by the bushings on the control arms which cost approximately $800 to repair. I was advised by the service agent that these issues are not covered by the extended BMW warranty. I explained that I reported the issues prior to the expiration of my factory warranty. I was given a number to BMW North America customer relations department for escalation. I contacted them immediately. I provided a copy of the invoice documentation that shows my complaints were made during the period of the factory warranty. One week later, I received a follow-up call to notify me that BMW would not honor the repairs because they were not able to duplicate the problem while the warranty was valid (even though I reported it). My request for an additional escalation path was denied by Nick (Customer Service Manager), because according to him, he was the highest level. I requested the physical street address for the corporate office in NJ, in which I was also denied. I am very upset at how BMW decided to conduct business regarding my claim. I would like some direction on what I can do to hold them accountable for these repairs.

I recently visited the BMW service center in about my 2007 BMW 525i, 58K old car. It stalled on the road with a huge cloud of smoke behind the car on the coldest day of the winter and I had to tow the vehicle to the service center. I did not get an appointment initially. I was told it would take at least couple of days to see the vehicle. I had no choice but leaving the vehicle at the service center. It took 10 days to get my vehicle back. I did not get the vehicle completely fixed and problem free. Nobody trust the owner of the car when I said I never found a single problem till it was stalled on the road.I was charged $2k initially. When I asked for the bad spark plugs which were replaced as part of the process, I was told they were disposed, then the representative went inside and found unused parts lying around the car and reduced that part price from the $2k he initially charged and gave me a new receipt. If I had not asked for spark plugs, I would have paid $2k and returned losing my money for the unused parts brought as part of my invoice. I am not confident if they have really replaced the parts that they are saying they did as part of the service contract. Now my car makes a chopper sound. It rattles like a old car out from the junk yard. The service manager says it could have existed before and it is continuing which is not true as nobody trust the car owner. The service guy told me that my engine is hydro locked and says that he never saw such problem in his entire experience and says that he do not know how to fix this. I am left to live with the problem. I smell the burnt odor when I drive. I do not know if it is a major problem or not. I was told if I drive the car for 1000 miles, the burnt smell will go away. One more surprising thing is, I was told they removed the entire engine oil from the engine. When they did that, is it not their responsibility to fill it back to normal level? They did not do it and told me I have to drive at least 1000 miles do get rid of the burnt smell and delivered the car. I took the car home, before I reached home it threw an error message saying the Engine Oil Levels are below minimum. What kind of service is that? Do they want to ruin my car and make me buy a new one or leave the car for more repairs and get looted? When I contacted the service center about the Engine Oil Levels, service manager asks me to come down to top off with one quart of oil. I asked him how can they deliver the car with engine oils at so minimum levels after service? I got no satisfactory answer. I have to leave the car for half day at the service center requesting (begging would be a right word here) to service my car paying $120+ more.I have no peace of mind with the car. All these problems clearly state that if you are out of warranty, just sell the car and get rid of the hassles. 58k on my car shows that it is still a baby. But the problems on the car are very scary. It is just the appearance and from inside BMW is the most problematic car I have ever experienced. I have to always worry about the battery draining because of the continuous checking of computers. The display throws all sorts of problems. Some times it stops working. Display is not a wear out part so early. Why should a customer worry about the car all the time? I have gone thru the forums. A lot of problems with 525 series. Why dont you guys recall and fix the problems? Why should the customer suffer so much paying for all the hot fixes you forgot in the first place while releasing the model? I am a very good driver and I maintain the cars very perfectly servicing them every 5k miles and taking good care. I have a Honda Odyssey 2007 model. Hassle free, not a single problem till now. Cars should be like that, hassle free. BMW is proving that luxury is a pain and a hole in customer pocket. If BMW is trustworthy as it claims, then please fix my car with no additional costs, as you did not fix the problem in the first case, despite charging me so much money and time. I hope someone will respond positively to this painful email. If not I will definitely will not buy a BMW in my life again and would not recommend to anyone. It is really painful knowing that BMW is so poorly serving customers not fixing the cars problems properly and driving customers to buy new cars.

Purchased new 525i in 2001. Should have never purchased new 2009 528I. Spent too much time prior to 50K mileage warranty having BMW serviced and too much time plus money after 50K for other vehicle problems that were not covered by warranty. Called North America BMW headquarters in New Jersey. Headquarters could care less about their product and customers. Bought Porsche Cayenne 4 years ago and wondered what I ever saw in BMW. Complete night and day difference in quality of the vehicle. I will tell as many potential BMW buyers to NOT purchase a BMW. Do NOT purchase BMWs. I have been told that a significant amount of the money made by the company is from the repairs of the vehicles. Surely BMW headquarters is aware considering they are supplying the parts for all of the expected/planned repairs.

I am a Canadian citizen owner of a Quebec registered (licensed) American Z4 staying in Florida for three months until early April. Last week I misplaced one of my car keys set, so I went to the Ferman BMW in Palm Harbor FL for a replacement key. I was told and given by a representative of the parts department a document that said that it was against BMW policy to provide a replacement key for vehicles with foreign titles/registration, and suggested that I contact BMW care, which I did the following day.On Friday morning January 9th I contacted BMW customer care and explained my situation to two specialists (Ross and Kristina) and since they could not help me that someone at a higher level would contact me later in the day! NO ONE DID!! I find it disturbing that a BMW owner with proper documentations would be left stranded for days because of a policy that leaves no room to judgment and that no one at BMW Customer care, care enough to take action and use his or her judgment to resolve the situation.Updated on 01/19/2015Last week I wrote a complaint that I was trying to have a replacement key made for my Z4. That same day Kristina from BMW customer care contacted me to say that she needed more time to reach someone to resolve my problem - that since my vehicle was registered in Canada that it was against BMWs policy. I have been waiting since January 9th to have this problem resolved! I dont quite know what my next step should be! Write a letter to the head office in Germany? Thank you.

On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa
On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa due to low coolant light appearing on the cluster. The dealership conducted almost two-hour diagnosis and determined that our vehicle requires a new water pump, thermostat and some oil gasket. The job should have been finished at the end of the day and my wife was waiting a phone call to pick up the vehicle. My wife did not receive the phone call and now it was 18 December 2015, 2 PM. My wife called to the dealership querying the vehicle. She was put on hold and then the dealership promised to call her back. My wife did not hear anything and then she called over one hour later again, now the dealership admitted that there has been a problem with our vehicle. In the process of repairs (i.e replacing water pump, thermostat and engine oil gasket and oil), the technician during is test drive (at least the dealership report states) had seized the engine. The technician had completed the work and replaced the engine oil (as they say) and was in process conducting the road test when the engine seized. Now the dealer is denying their responsibility and is suggesting us to buy replacement engine? How generous, they are even helping us to find cheaper used engine? Dont we have laws in Canada? This should not be even a question, i.e. you broke it, you bought it. Elite BMW is now working with BMW Canada and in preliminary discussion, BMW agrees to cover off 60% of the cost and the rest is collected from the customer based on the general manager, as the dealership is trying to wash their responsibility of the accident. The whole accident is tarnishing the BMW brand. The way situation is handled is less than it is expected of the brand. This is cheap shot and poor representation of the brand and is turning off customers and investors from the brand. Mierins Automotive Group, especially Elite BMW is keeping their promise: creating a dealership experience like no other. The truth does not lie in words rather than actions. Indeed BMW military appreciation program is to sell smiling in front of you and stab you on the back - thank you BMW Canada and Mierins Automotive Group! We provided the complaint letter to the service manager (Isabelle), basically stating that you broke it, you bought it. The BMW Canada agrees to cover off 60% of the cost of the engine rebuild and the dealership and the general manager and the service manager deny their role to the cause of the damage. The general manager offered the engine rebuild for approx 15,000 CAD, which we have doubts as the technicians failed the water pump replacement. In a discussion with the senior technician, he mentioned that the dealership have difficulties to find and retain technologically incline technicians as BMWs are challenging vehicles to maintain and repair. We as consumers should have rights and laws protecting us. When a vehicle is left to the dealerships care, it should be returned minimum at the same condition it was left there. We are a military family and protecting this country and its citizens and this is the thank you for the service from its citizens as return.

I brought my car in for an issue dealing with the airbag light illuminated
I brought my car in for an issue dealing with the airbag light illuminated on my dashboard. After being given an appointment 3 weeks after I asked for one, I was told that it was a seat motor issue and that the car thinks there is a passenger in the seat and will activate even if none is sitting there in an accident. The repair would cost over $1500. I rejected the offer but asked if they could take off the warning light. They said that it was impossible, that only if they repaired it could that happen. As I was waiting for the return of my car, they told me that now my passenger window wouldnt go up (although not even 20 minutes earlier I had raised it). I was told that the part was a window motor and it would cost $180. Since I had no choice, but found it highly coincidental, I agreed. They kept the car, but did give me a loaner, for 3 days. When I went to pick it up, they had charged me for 2 diagnosis, and $250 for the part. When I said I was told it was $180 the gentleman told Thats the price. $250. I paid. When I got in the car magically the airbag warning had disappeared. I then contacted BMW Canada complaint department. Then I received a phone call from the service department asking me about my experience. I told him and he said the manager would call me back that day. He never did. I called back BMW Canada and they said they would have him call me. Again he never did. After a week I called BMW Canada to complain again and they called him and transferred the call to me. I asked the complaint department to stay on the line as I spoke with him. She said she could not but to call her back after my call with him.I spoke with him for about 5 minutes. He was belligerent and kept saying they were not thieves. He would not give me an explanation as to how this could have happened. Since I was getting nowhere with him, I hung up and called back the complaint department again at BMW Canada. The woman had left for the day (16:00hr). I left numerous messages for BMW Canada to call me and finally heard back. They say there is nothing they can do other than when the dealership comes up for review, bring it up. If this is how BMW deals with their clients, I promise you this will be my last BMW.

Several months ago BMW sent me a letter to bring my car in to be service for a recalls and/or updates. They returned my car stating they would contact me later to finish the job after a part they needed came in. A few months later they called me to bring my car back in. A week later, I received a call from a service department person saying they broke the engine coil off my car and will have to take the whole engine out now. Im nervous because my car was driving fine before I got the letter and the call to bring my car back in to BMW. The guy who kept communicating with me said hes going on vacation for a week but someone else he named would be taking care of things. No one contacted me about my car. When he returned from vacation he called. He said he was back and they are waiting on a part and when it come in they will pull my engine out.I asked, Will it driving like it was when I bought it in? He replied, It should be better. Im knowing, nothing was wrong with my car. I didnt even know why or what needed updating. He said the mechanic is going on vacation now for a week. A week later he called saying, Im just calling to keep you informed and we have another car engine on the table right now and as soon as we finish with it, were going to put yours on it. My husband is in from Florida and hes asking me how do a car going in for updates end up having the engine pulled out of it? He following up saying, Once they pull your engine it will never drive the same again. Another friend whom is a Director at a college stated they would have to give me a warranty stating if anything happens to my engine they will fix it no matter what the problem is or give me a new car. Im more scared and upset. The following week the service person call me again on Friday saying, Well we finally got your car in and getting ready to work on it and you should have it back by Tuesday or Wednesday. So far they have had my car a month so I drove to BMW when they were closed on that Sunday and across the street from them sit my car with a small plate hanging off the front of it by a wire and parked crooked. Now, Im upset and all trust of the one keeping me informed is all out the window. I called and left him a message about me seeing my car on the other lot. He called back saying they are working on it now and it should be ready by the end of the day. I said to him, Im concerned about my car sitting for weeks and whether it will run right. He told me they ensure whatever parts they put on it for two years. I didnt feel that was good enough.I got a call from him later saying, Your car is ready but in all honesty I just dont feel right giving you back your car without the mechanic driving it for the whole weekend and hes getting ready to put some miles on your car. I said, Well have him drive it on the highway to make sure its driving ok and he said he will. Maybe the mechanic is driving it out of town for the 4th of July.My car is a fully loaded pearl color 750Li xDrive Super Sport Twin Turbo Engine, which I made a payment on in June as it sat on BMW lot due to their mistake. They tried to put me in a 3-Series. I wouldnt take it so they put me in a 5-Series with Sam Swope courtesy vehicle in big bold letters across the back window and had me return it because they sold it, they said. I had it for over three weeks. They put me in a black 5-Series afterwards that is more up to date and I still have it. Basically, BMW has had my car for about 6 weeks and the mechanic still have it at his house right now somewhere.

Purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2009 with 20K miles on it, purchased as a BMW Certified with the full 100K (or 6 year) warranty. At some point around 40K miles, I noticed the anti-freeze overflow tank had oil mixed in it. I took it to BMW and was given a tongue lashing for allowing Valvoline to change my oil. Not only did they state Valvoline put oil in the anti-freeze reservoir, they gave me a letter and advised me to take legal action. Instead, I opted to pay BMW $1200 to total flush the entire system of oil. A few months later the water pump went out (under warranty) and I was advised once again I had oil in my anti-freeze. Once again I was fooled by the BMW liars as they told me it was probably just left over from the previous incident. Finally while I was driving one day the engine started to run hot, being that I work literally 2 blocks from BMW I drove the car over to be checked out. By this time the car had run out of its BMW warranty, and lo and behold they said I had oil in the anti-freeze and that I would now need to pay them $4K to replace the head as the thought it was cracked. Now they couldnt really tell me that would fix the car and the only other option they gave me was to replace the engine $6K.I have all of the paper trails, I called BMW USA, I tried to get the people at Swope BMW Louisville to work with me but they would not. At the end of the day, nobody could ever tell me how I was getting oil in the antifreeze....a cracked head and/or blown head gasket would result in antifreeze in the oil, what I had was exactly opposite. Rolling the dice, I took the car to a very reputable shop in Louisville and paid the $2500 to replace the head gasket...a repair which did not work.I have owned 2 new BMWs. I will never, ever, ever even look at another one of these cars. The dealers are under a huge amount of duress and will not do whats right for the consumer. My warranty was worth nothing as they (BMW) milked it out until my car was no longer covered before telling me the engine was shot. Since then I have leased a 2013 Mazda CX5 AWD GT for my wife, and purchased a 2013 Honda Civic Ex for my son. I have plenty of money to spend, and will never spend another dime on these pieces of human excrement who represent BMW.

In 2014 I decided I wanted to drive the ultimate driving machine. What a mistake. I asked my cousin who works at a dealership to locate something for me. In June 2014 I purchased my 2011 BMW 328i xdrive SULEV with 29k. I purchased extended warranty and Gap insurance for slightly over $30,000. I realized I overpaid but I was okay with it because I really wanted this vehicle. A few months into it my car began shaking violently and had a very rough idle. I had to replace spark plugs and coils. A few months after that it started having electrical problems. The car would turn off the heat, ac, radio, and lights. I had to replace an electrical module at 45k. I contacted BMW and they offered to pay 95%. I was satisfied until another few months went by and my car kept stalling, launching itself into traffic, shutting off and turning back on while I was on the highway, and wouldnt keep momentum. Turns out the fuel line broke off in my tank and I needed to replace the fuel tank at 50k. I called BMW again and they offered to replace it with only $250 out of my pocket... At this point I decided this car is a nightmare and I wanted out. Too upside down to replace it I decided Ive replaced enough and it should be good to go for a few years. NOW its idling rough again, hesitating to move and shaking violently once again. BMW offered me a $1,000 loyalty to trade out but dealerships are only offering $15,000 and I owe $26,000. For the age and mileage of this vehicle I should not have had it in the shop more than 5 times for serious maintenance. This car is a nightmare!!!! I would NEVER recommend BMW to friends or family members unless they dont mind having it in the shop more than on the road. Between electrical issues, faulty fuel pump/fuel line, coils, and an obnoxious ticking sound I have more of a headache than an ultimate driving machine. Its more like the ultimate pain in the butt. The cigarette lighter has never worked so I cannot plug in a GPS. When I have my ipod or Pandora playing the radio will randomly change the song or shut my music off and default to the radio. It also gets so hot that the radio stops working and says HIGH TEMP. It overheats and wont play music and turns off the AC or the heat randomly. For the price of these vehicles new and pre-owned they should not have THIS many issues. I have less than 65k on it and it constantly fails me. BMW is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If youre considering a luxury brand try Lexus or Infiniti. BMWs are a waste of money!!

Totally tired of this car since as it has given me so much stress.

BMW has made a nasty turn for the worse. I am a loyal customer over a decade and have purchased 6 BMWs for me and my family to enjoy over the years. I am on my 6th BMW which happened to be a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED BMW. The last 5 were purchased New and after the CPO experience being described to me by a sales associate, I determined to purchase a CPO BMW instead of new. What a mistake! The car was visually perfect and mechanically appeared fine on the test drive before purchase, but there were a plethora of engine and transmission issues the week after purchase. With less than 30,000 miles, I had no idea what I was getting into with this plagued car, not to mention all the interior cracks and creaking and the deferred maintenance that no one paid any attention to on the vehicle.I asked BMW North America for compensation for my time spent, almost 20 hours of driving, waiting, telephone calls, troubleshooting, exchanging rental cars, paying for rental cars, etc. and after 3 weeks they called me back stating that they will not honor any compensation. Disgusting. This will be my last BMW, and I will be sure to share this experience with my circle of car enthusiasts.

Third time, they could not verify again when the noise still continues and fourth time, I decide to take it to different BMW service center and the mechanic sat with me and verified the noise is there and wrote on service report. But, as I picking it up the noise were still there and I notified BMW north America but no response. What should I do? Should I hire a lawyer? Or is it something I can deal with BMW North America?

2006 BMW 5501 - I purchased my car new from Santa Barbara, CA dealer in Dec
2006 BMW 5501 - I purchased my car new from Santa Barbara, CA dealer in December 2006. I paid over $60,000. By the end of 2010, I noticed the paint on hood was fading and a white cloud began to appear. I took it to the dealer, who did not have any suggestions and thought it might be from car washes. But there was nothing they could do, it was not covered by the warranty. It got worse and spread to the roof of the car (but the sides and back look like brand new). I had another shop look at it. He said waxing would do me no good, that the car would have to be repainted and that the car was likely damaged when it was brought in on the boat. They probably repaired it and in doing so, had to repaint or touch up the paint, altering the original paint job and the clear coat finish. I have brought the paint condition to the dealer both in person and in writing, but I get the same answer - not warranted. In addition, the rubber around both my front and rear windshields has totally disintegrated. There is nothing left. I brought this to the attention of the dealer. I was told my car was out of warranty. Other BMW owners have told me they have experienced the same. This seems to be a common problem. You would think BMW could afford to use a higher quality rubber on their vehicles. I have had several issues with this car. A bad exhaust smoking problem, while my car was under warranty, which took months of complaint writing to the dealer as well as BMW North America to finally have them diagnose the problem and make the repair. I love driving the car and the BMW look, but I am so disappointed with the quality and the service of BMW. For the amount of money they charge and the advertisements regarding ultimate driving machine, you would think they would do better in the customer relationship department and stand behind their product.

BMW 750i xdrive run flat tires and wheels - I have lost 5 new front pirelli
BMW 750i xdrive run flat tires and wheels - I have lost 5 new front pirelli run flat tires within the 6 month. In addition one of my wheel cracked and I had to replace it as well. Evidently BMW command center that pushing these run flat tires dont care about their customers. These run flat tires might be good for European autobahns but not for road conditions in East Coast. I have changed the plans of purchasing BMW for my son. No anymore BMW. I have replaced the tires to non run flat. In addition to it BMW claims that run flat can run another 50 miles after damaged is not simply true - it barely runs 10 miles max before start damaging the rim. In addition BMW emergency service does not deliver anything emergency except being polite on the phone. I will be selling out my BMW as soon as I can get rid of it. If you dont want to waste your money stay away from BMW. It is not the luxury car anymore as it use to be back to history.
