2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe

The 2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe combines BMW’s iconic driving dynamics with the everyday practicality of a four-door format. Designed to appeal to buyers who want a luxury compact vehicle that is both engaging to drive and versatile for daily use, the 2-Series Gran Coupe brings sporty character, premium design, and modern technology into a smart package. It sits below the 3-Series in BMW’s lineup, offering a youthful and energetic alternative that still carries the brand’s commitment to performance and quality.

The Gran Coupe format broadens the appeal of the 2-Series nameplate by offering easier access, increased practicality, and a more refined presence than a traditional coupe.

Design & Exterior Identity

The 2026 2-Series Gran Coupe features a sleek, dynamic profile:

Sporty silhouette: The sloping roofline and coupe-like proportions give it a more expressive presence than a typical compact sedan.

BMW design cues: A bold kidney grille, sharp headlights, and sculpted body lines reinforce the brand’s identity while providing a refined, modern look.

Elegant detailing: Subtle character lines and precise surface transitions add visual depth without unnecessary complexity.

Four-door practicality: Rear doors and a slightly taller greenhouse improve accessibility and rear-seat comfort over two-door designs.

Overall, the design blends athletic posture with premium sophistication — a car that feels youthful yet refined.

Powertrain & Performance

The performance profile of the 2026 2-Series Gran Coupe reflects BMW’s focus on dynamic driving:

Turbocharged engines: A range of efficient yet spirited four-cylinder engines provides responsive throttle feel and strong midrange torque, making everyday driving lively.

Smooth automatic transmission: A refined automatic gearbox delivers seamless shifts and reinforces the vehicle’s premium character.

Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive options: Rear-wheel drive offers traditional BMW balance and steering feel, while available all-wheel drive enhances traction and confidence in varied conditions.

The tuning emphasizes responsive acceleration and step-in power delivery that suits city driving, highway cruising, and light spirited driving alike.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

Handling and driving feel are central to the Gran Coupe’s character:

Sport-oriented steering: Steering feel is precise and communicative, giving drivers good feedback and confidence in vehicle responses.

Chassis balance: Suspension tuning blends agility with comfort, keeping the ride composed over imperfect surfaces while maintaining responsiveness through curves.

Agile footprint: Compact dimensions and well-balanced weight distribution make the car feel nimble in urban environments.

Driver confidence: Brake feel and steering calibration work together to provide a confident driving experience without compromising refinement.

The 2-Series Gran Coupe feels engaging without requiring extreme inputs from the driver, making it accessible yet rewarding.

Interior Comfort & Technology

Inside, the 2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe delivers a premium, driver-focused environment with modern amenities:

Supportive seats: Well-contoured seats provide comfort and stability during long drives and spirited cornering alike.

Quality materials: Soft-touch surfaces and refined finishing elements elevate the interior beyond mainstream compact offerings.

Ergonomic layout: Controls and displays are arranged to promote intuitive use, minimizing driver distraction.

Infotainment system: A central display integrates navigation, media, and vehicle settings, while seamless smartphone connectivity enhances everyday usability.

The combination of comfort and function makes the interior welcoming for drivers and passengers.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 2-Series Gran Coupe includes a suite of safety and driver support features:

Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain a safe following distance and reduces fatigue on highway drives.

Lane-keeping assistance: Helps the vehicle stay centered at sustained speeds, easing long drives.

Automatic emergency braking: Provides mitigation support in sudden slowdown scenarios.

Blind-spot monitoring: Enhances awareness during lane changes and in dense traffic.

These systems are designed to work seamlessly in the background to enhance confidence and reduce workload.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe

Sport-oriented performance: Responsive engines and dynamic handling make it enjoyable to drive.

Practical four-door format: Improves everyday usability over two-door variants.

Premium interior: Quality materials and thoughtful design elevate the cabin experience.

Modern connectivity: Technology supports daily lifestyle needs without feeling intrusive.

Accessible performance: A balanced blend of agility and comfort suits a wide range of driving scenarios.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Compact interior space: While improved over two-door alternatives, rear legroom and cargo space are modest compared with larger sedans and SUVs.

Ride firmness: Sport-oriented suspension tuning may feel firmer than comfort-focused rivals over rough pavement.

Fuel consumption: Performance bias and spirited driving will result in fuel use that is higher than economy-focused compact cars.

Not a dedicated performance variant: While engaging, the Gran Coupe does not typically match the extreme performance of dedicated M or RS variants.

Who the 2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe Is Best For

The 2026 2-Series Gran Coupe is ideal for drivers who:

Want a sporty yet practical compact luxury car with dynamic handling.

Appreciate a premium interior with modern technology and connectivity.

Prefer the four-door convenience of sedan access without sacrificing coupe-like styling.

Enjoy responsive engines and agile steering in daily use and weekend drives.

Value a vehicle that is as happy in urban environments as it is on highways.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe delivers a compelling combination of luxury, performance, and practicality in a sleek, stylish package. Its dynamic driving character, premium interior, and everyday usability make it a strong choice for buyers seeking a compact luxury vehicle that feels both engaging behind the wheel and comfortable in daily life. With its four-door layout and modern features, the Gran Coupe stands out as an accessible yet spirited choice in the compact luxury segment.

I bought a BRAND new BMW 530 XDrive last May 2019. This June 2019 I got a flat tire. I called roadside assistance for the first time and arranged a pick up. It took over 3 hours (FIRST sign they dont care) but they finally got a tow truck to me. The Companys name was T & T towing based in Waldorf. The dealership they were supposed to take my car to was less than 30 minutes up the road. SO after an hour has passed and no update. I called T&T towing to see the status of my vehicle. I was then informed NOBODY WANTS YOUR CAR, WE WILL DROP IT OFF WHEN WE DROP IT OFF. I look on my BMW app and see my car is heading to Waldorf and not BMW of Silver Spring as requested. I contact BMW RSA to let them know how I am being spoken to and that I would like my vehicle returned. I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

Im a repeat owner of convertibles and on cooler days it is VERY common to place the heater on high when the top is down. I purchased a 2011 BMW 128i convertible with 30k miles in April 2014 and immediately discovered that when the heater was on very high or high for a period the radio will shut down and refuse to work. After an attempt (not knowing what that attempt was) to fix this car the dealer and BMW complaint division refuses to fix it or admit to a design FLAW. Has anyone else experienced this problem. My ADVICE to anyone thinking of buying a BMW convertible - check this out closely or shy away. They will not attempt to fix it nor admit it is a Design FLAW. It is REALLY inconvenient to drive in the cooler weather. Once the radio shuts down the heater must be turned off and returned to cool to continue listening to the radio. Never had this problem with any other convertibles. I will be selling this car!

Bought a 2020 M340i xdrive BMW. The proximity feature of the Idrive have been an issue from the day I picked up the vehicle. On the way home from the dealership the doors would not open using the door handles. Had to use the key fob. On day two I called the BMW genius. He had me reboot the Idrive. This fixed the problem for a short time. The way it stands now, we never know when its going to work. It worked for a couple days recently, only to stop working for the last 2 days. I took it to the dealer when it was not working. When I got to the dealership, it started working when I arrived at the dealership. They checked for error codes. They said there may be issues with the antenna based on the error codes. The order is in for a new antenna. This was on 10/19/2020. Still have not heard anything from the dealership. It is now 10/27/2020. I dont know where the part is coming from, but I had hoped it would be here by now, and I could see if this fixes the problem. Hoping for the best, but I fear this going to be an issue as long as own the vehicle.

I had service done at Vista BMW in Coconut Creek, FL after receiving via email service coupons and discounts. After the service was done and the emailed coupons were presented the Service Manager denied and did not apply the coupons. 20% discount was offered on any service done at the dealer. After the service was done, the manager refused to apply the coupon and pointed out the fine print. This coupon is very deceiving as it was very clear that they wanted to get customers pulled into the dealership for service thru this offer, only to turn it down when it was time to pick up the vehicle.

I purchased a used BMW that was purchased as a certified pre-own by the previous owner. The warranty extended through 2019 up to 100k miles. I thought this would be a transferable warranty seeing that it was purchased through BMW. I called in and was transferred to a third party company who had no record of the warranty. I called BMW back to which another person explained that the warranty can no longer be transferred because I did not buy the car directly from the previous owner. There was a third party involved. I offered to pay a transfer fee, have the car reinspected or whatever yet BMW would not transfer the warranty. I was surprised that BMW wouldn’t want to stand by a car that they certified as good based on a transfer of ownership that involved a third party. That seems like bad business to me and way to force a new owner to repurchase the same warranty again. I would suggest others be aware of this clause when purchasing a used BMW.

My car was at Spring Valley BMW for a week being serviced. I went to pick up my car, paid, got in and drove home for my brother to scream at me “KIMBERLY what the ** happen to your car!” I’m like, What! He said, “You don’t ** see that! I looked and my mouth dropped right away. I went back to BMW. My back bumper was smashed and my light was broken. I was gone not even 10 minutes. The manager at BMW was very rude and nasty telling me this did not happen there. And I was responsible to cover the damage. Someone at BMW while in their possession crashed my car. Backed it in and knew I would get in and drive off. I took my car in for internal problems nothing having to do with the body. I did know I had to do a 360. My main concern was that my car was running properly. Not that my car would be smashed. How does that happen? Then for the manager to be so rude and mean to me blaming me like I did that damage. As he walks in he says to me “looks like someone is going to need a new bumper! That is no way to treat nor talk to a customer who just spent money and then having her car damaged from someone at BMW. Unacceptable. No one should have to go through this. Horrible.

So I leased a 2020 430 convertible in July 2019. A month later driving the car in 90° weather after two hours of driving the air-conditioning broke. Brought the car back to the dealership, they said the problem was fixed. A month later same situation. Brought it back, he said it was fixed. The following summer in 90° weather same situation after a few hours of driving air-conditioning stopped. Brought it to a different dealership, problem was fixed, it was not. Currently two weeks ago in June, driving back from the Jersey shore and 98° weather I stopped at a rest stop and left my daughter and my dog in the car. When I came back I found that the air conditioner had stopped, my daughter who has down syndrome, my dog suffered mild heatstroke. Contacted Bmw multiple times. They tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. And have yet to buy me out of my lease. So worst company ever, this car is a lemon. There’s nothing but problems with these BMWs. Do not purchase or lease then.

I purchased this BMW 2011 740 li for my wife 9/14 with $55k miles from BMW Murrieta. We have barely had this car two years and has been in the shop 75 days with over $23k paid in repairs. Problems began immediately after we purchased the car. BMW Murrieta told me this car had a thorough 180 point inspection, rear brakes were gone in 300 miles. I took it back and complained, BMW Murrieta warrantied the rear brakes and rotors. 58k Miles - noise in front end, diagnosed as thrust rod bushings, those were replaced. 59K miles, seat motors go out, replaced those. 60k miles - noise in the rear - cv joints went out, replace those. 61k miles, power steering pump starts leaking and making noise, belt tensioner fails as well. Replaced both as well as the accessory belt. 62k miles, check engine light comes on, fuel tank supply line / pressure sensor fails, replaced those, 68k miles, check engine light comes on - turbo low pressure, replaced, gaskets, collars and vacuum lines. 70k miles check engine light comes on, turbo low pressure - turbo failed, replaced turbos and pressure converters. All good for a while. 89k miles, check engine light comes on - fuel injectors fail, replaced all fuel injectors. 92k miles check engine light comes on - transmission leaks all over driveway and slipping. Replaced inner mechatronics seal, fluid, pan and seal. 102k miles check engine light comes on, car overheating - water pump fails, replace water pumps, coolest and various gaskets, seals. 103k miles check engine light comes on - vacuum lines on turbo fail again, also replaced valve cover, gaskets and more sensors. 103.5k miles, transmission cooler leaking, replace cooler and lines. Anyone who doesnt believe me, I have all the service records I would be happy to post.During all this time, BMW Murrieta never recommends that a factory inspector come look at the car for all the issues, BMW America never reaches out to us for any customer service (not sure if they would know this car was in the shop so much unless the dealer would have told them). I call BMW America to see if they can help us at all with all the issues on the car. They open a case to inspect service records, all the money we have spent on repairs at the shop, all the down time, etc. This gets escalated to a gentleman named Kurt ** - Executive Customer Care (the title actually sounds like they care, THEY DONT!!) Two weeks later they call me and tell me the BMW does not meet their criteria for any kind of help. He tells me they wont buy it back, I tell him I dont want or expect them to buy it back. I tell him, Im just hoping you would take a look at the service records, all the money I have spent repairing this car (over half of what I paid for it), take into consideration all the stress, frustration, down time, rental cars, etc. and see if you can help me in any way keep this thing on the road and out of the dealers mechanic bay. Maybe some help with a trade or maybe some kind of help with an extended warranty, he tells me they cannot do anything, the service records and time in the shop do not meet any of their criteria for help.I will never ever buy another BMW in my life. This car has been the biggest joke amongst friends and family. They all warned me not to buy a BMW, especially a used one, even if its a CPO or not, doesnt matter if you buy it from the dealer or not. Once you take the car, youre on your own. BMW will not help you with any issues you have. This BMW is the most unreliable car I have ever owned period. Ill stick to my Chevys, Fords and Hondas.

I was driving my 2013 BMW 328xi with family in Toronto in busy traffic on Nov 1, 2014 & suddenly the cars engine stops and all power features stop working. I managed to glide the car to the curve amidst busy traffic switching lanes with my hazard on and barely averting a collision. The dashboard monitor stated something about the start/stop ignition. I attempted to start the car and it would turn briefly but would not start. After several attempts I called BMW roadside assistance. After being left on hold sometime, I was advised a tow truck would arrive at 5:50 pm, it was 4:30 pm. I advised them the car was not safe as the busy road was full of fast moving traffic on Mount Pleasant North of Moore. The individual at the call center claimed he could not do anything. I called my older son to pick up my wife & son with hockey gear and shopping.Exactly at around 5:50 pm a flat bed tow truck arrived with we buy scrap cars inscribed on the truck (not kidding). The tow truck driver attempted to start the car and mentioned he was unable to put the car in neutral. He asked it could damage the car if he pulled it onto the truck. I again called BMW roadside assistance and the individual (now supervisor) asked I sign a waiver to take responsibility for any damage caused by their towing. I refused and the man was argumentative. The Tow truck driver suggested another tow truck with rollers and stated he would not take responsibility without a waiver. Another hour passed before the next tow truck arrived. It was a cold evening in Toronto and I asked BMW roadside assistance if they could shuttle me home after the car was towed. I was told I need to go with the tow truck. Upon arriving at the dealership it was closed and the security mentioned there was nowhere for me to wait. (No news yet from roadside assistance.) By this time I had chatted prior with BMW roadside assistance individuals in Chicago, Toronto, Florida and Winnipeg (they kept transferring me). The Winnipeg girl finally called a taxi while I waited for another hour in the cold (I could have called a taxi or got a ride myself if they had not insisted I stay with the car earlier). I had to pay for the taxi anyhow and was provided a budget of $100 after I asked. The Winnipeg girl stated they may reimburse me and she would email info. (The email arrived two days later with completely different information.) No courtesy car. I must say the roadside assistance (call center) experience was poor. I had to call several times and often they would place me on hold or they just hung up after 20-30 min on hold. They kept sending electronic voice messages asking if things had been taken care, while I was telling them they had not. A couple of women were good but did not have answers and they even gave the wrong information about rental cars claiming none were available in the entire City of Toronto. To end my evening, the taxi driver turned out to be a racist maniac from Beck Taxi. I told him to stop at Yonge and Lawrence, I paid him (he insisted on cash as his machine was in the trunk). I ran over to Starbucks and waited for a ride home back to Bathurst and Eglinton. What a nightmare! The dealer was excellent and they fixed the problem in two business days. However the same new car also had a brake problem a couple of months prior and cost $1,200 for new brakes (the downtown Toronto dealer claimed it was not covered under warranty at 30,000 km). The car had speedometer problem and showed service was overdue (at minus -7000 km), the car had been serviced a couple of months prior. Luckily this one is a leased car, however after driving BMWs for the past 10-12 years I am concerned the new 3 Series appear to have problems. I hope they take note and sort out the problems.

The 2001 BMW R1150 GS is a fabulous motorcycle. A beast of a motorcycle. Well engineered and tough it will take you where miles are afraid to tred! The R1150 GS has power to spare. Surprising lower and performance. My last motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. I was impressed with the power of that Harley but this 1150 BMW puts it to shame. The BMW is smooth yet robust. The 6-speed gearing has a wide range. I especially like third gear! A handful of throttle feels like you are blasting off to the moon! At age 67 I only rode my BMW mildly off road on my own farm and then only over improved dry pastures! Mine has just over 31,450 miles at the time of this review! My bike was fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere when I purchased it second hand. The tires were just 1 year old with just 1,000 miles on them. I am 67 years old and recently purchased this BMW motorcycle in September 2021, however it is too tall for me to ride comfortably and safely. I have a 30" inseam but riders need longer legs to safely handle this motorcycle. I thought about lowering the suspension but these GS BMW's are too nice to alter. So I purchased a second BMW R1200C Pheonix last week which suits my stride much better. I do not need two BMW motorcycles so I am reluncticly parting with my GS. This is what Cycle World Magazine had to say about the BMW R1150 GS: BMW R1150GS - BEST USED BIKES Exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. Cycle World July 22, 2015 YEARS SOLD: 2000–2004 MSRPNEW: $14,190 ('00) to $14,500 ('04) BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $4,885 ('00) to $6,500 ('04)BASIC SPECS: The R1150GS is powered by an 1,130cc air-/oil-cooled, four-stroke opposed twin featuring four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and shaft drive. The 1150 introduced a six-speed gearbox, while later models came equipped with dual spark plug heads and servo-assisted combined ABS brakes. The GS weighs 582 pounds WET with its 5.5-gallon fuel tank topped up and produced 74 hp and 68 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheel on the Cycle World dyno. The "Showa" suspension offers 7.9 inches of rough road-smoothing travel, while the adjustable saddle height (33.1 to 33.8 inches) accommodates a range of riders. WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Few bikes have proven to be as versatile as the GS BMW Beemer family, with the 1150 exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. It's a road-hardened touring mount and heavyweight dual-sport all wrapped in one. "I went places and saw things on the GS that I never would have on another bike," Mark Hoyer remarked back in the days before he was editor-in-chief. "It truly makes molehills out of mountains." All that, plus the reputation of durability and reliability rivaling that of an anvil easily warrant the price of purchase. THE COMPETITION: Long-travel twins gained prominence in the early 2000s with the introduction of the KTM 950 Adventure and 1,000cc Ducati Multistrada. Undoubtedly, this trend was helped along by the BMW R1150GS, which was honored as the Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2000 by Cycle World in our Ten Best issue.

I own a 650I, bought it from BMW dealer, always had it serviced by BMW dealer. At around 80,000 miles after having repeated problems with transmission, I was told I needed a new transmission and it was not covered by warranty. Also was told I need engine rebuilt! And also out of warranty! This car cost over $100,000, what type of valve stem guides do they use that they wear out at such low miles, not to mention a transmission, both items last longer on a $30,000 Honda... How pathetic!I spoke with BMW North America. They refused to warranty the defective items, and if one would check the new engines in BMWs, they would find most are burning oil very prematurely because the new engine design is built with sub par parts... This is a car costing over $100,000.00. I am disgusted with this horrible excuse of a luxury vehicle and more so the haughty attitude of BMW. One more thing, the dealer I was using Checkered Flag is horrible. They returned my car after a service, 4 quarts low on oil. When I called them, they said the oil sensor was faulty, when actually it was their lazy and inept service approach. I have engaged the services of a lawyer on this one!

I just purchased a new 2015 BMW 328i xDrive from my local BMW dealership about 6 months before I received a transmission fault warning and the car had rolled while in park into oncoming traffic crashing into a guardrail. Luckily the car rolled so slowly, it only caused very minimal scratches to the front bumper and no one was hurt. I made a complaint to BMW North America and had the car inspected. When I first left at the dealership, BMW let me know it would be looked at by the in house mechanics as well as their corporate team, and that they would keep me updated on the inspection progression. This process took over a month and when I inquired about the car, the dealership informed me the final corporate inspection was done 2 weeks prior to my inquiry; and that they were told someone in their corporate division was supposed to notify me of the report. Since no one would tell me what the status of my car was, I called the corporate office where I was told the car was looked at, and the mechanics were unable to find any significant faults or factory defects. Since no factory defects were found, BMW took no responsibility to what happened to my car, told me it was safe to drive and that they would sent me a report of the inspection.BMW never sent me the promised report of the inspection and I didnt not want the car back as it felt very unsafe. Ive owned the car only 6 months and put less than 4,000 miles on the car before this terrifying incident occurred. BMW told me the car was valued now at only $27,000 of the original $60,000 and would suffer the difference to return it.Before this car, I owned a 2003 325xi, which had a manufacturer recall in the driver and passenger seat heating system causing the seats to overheat. The seat heaters burned holes in each seat through the leather, burning my thigh in the drivers seat. I notified BMW of this and they told me they would only fix the burned drivers seat, not the burned passengers seat because the car was out of warranty, and that I was lucky they would even fix that.I made the mistake of buying a BMW not once but twice now, thinking they had well manufactured cars and mediocre customer service. Now I am certain they have unsafe cars and terrible if any customer service. I feel very generous giving BMW 1 star but 0 isnt an option. If you are looking to purchase a new or used BMW, do yourself a favor and buy an Audi instead.

I got scammed by BMW. I entered into a 2-year lease in 2016. Few months before the lease ends, I purchased additional miles. I was told that any unused miles will be refunded. I returned my car yesterday and guess what, they refused to refund my unused miles. However, they found my left rear tire was a little bit more used than the other ones and they charged me $300. Plus the extra $350 fee to close the lease...Not only that but last year, I was in Europe for a month or so and totally forgot to pay my monthly charge, was 30 days late and paid as soon as I came back to the US and opened my mail. That was the only late payment I had during my entire lease. Well guess what, BMW reported it right away and my credit score got impacted so bad it prevented me to purchase a house. I wrote a letter to try to solve this issue, they ignored it. BUT the sales team kept harassing me to try to sell me a new lease... Yeah, you guys can keep trying. I dont want to deal with BMW EVER again!

This is my first BMW and my last. While the car is fun to drive when it works, it has had such major issues (and now expenses) that it ruins the experience. Initially, the engine started to misfire. Eventually, when the car was pouring smoke out the back and would barely move, BMW replaced three injectors and a high-pressure fuel pump. After that work, the car ran fine but this was unfortunate because a check engine light came on within two weeks. I didn’t pursue it because the car was running well but should have because the warranty on the catalytic converter expired just then and it failed almost certainly due to the bad injectors (look it up). I’m now looking at a $4k bill for a single bad catalytic converter. I own a Lexus and a Honda and they give me zero trouble. I will simply stick with the Japanese brands from now on.

I leased 2014 328i since Feb. 2014 and has 4600 miles on it and just went to BMW service for the fourth time with same issues. First they cant duplicate the issue then second time foreman got into my car and verified the noise. Third time, they could not verify again when the noise still continues and fourth time, I decide to take it to different BMW service center and the mechanic sat with me and verified the noise is there and wrote on service report. But, as I picking it up the noise were still there and I notified BMW north America but no response. What should I do? Should I hire a lawyer? Or is it something I can deal with BMW North America?

My 2006 BMW 325i passenger seat sensor failure causes SRS (airbag system) light on dashboard to remain on. There exists a recall for this known manufacturing defect (National Highway Safety Administration Campaign 08V384000), which results in disabling the passenger airbag. This caused me to fail the annual inspection with only one option to pass, which will cost over $1000. Although this recall exists for my model and year, BMW USA claims my VIN is not part of the recall, in spite of the fact that my car presents this hazard.

I recently purchased 2012 BMW 5 series. It was 51k miles on it and this car had a very good maintenance record. I was thinking thats a very good deal to get a low mileage, well maintained and reliable car. But as for now it appears to be the worst purchase I ever made in my life. I drove it for few month (now it has 57k miles) and got transmission fail for no reason, BMW service asking for $6500 for repairs. How it could happens on that ridiculous mileage? I drove many other brands and some of them was well over 100k miles on it, and were just changing oil. So Ill probably fix it and sell right away accepting loss, I totally lost my confidence in BMW, thats garbage. Dont want to wait until engine will fail in next few thousand miles. BMW Goodwill only works for valued customers who already spend fortune for them. My point is that BMW cars is a total junk! Only can drive it within the warranty period when they will have to take care of their junk. Thanks.

I purchased a BMW-X1 series from Sanghi Classic (BMW showroom) at Jaipur on 16/8/12. Now its total running kilometer is 14,214 km till date. But after that, we found that my vehicle is not running properly - On speed of 100 km, my vehicle trembles automatically which may cause serious accident at any time. We have a Honda CRV for the last 5 years and have changed the tires of the vehicle, and now, after running for more than 100,000 km, there is no damage in any of the tires. But in just running for 14,214 km of the BMW vehicle, we found that the condition of the tire is worst from the inside and in a very worst condition and is very risky to drive or travel. So please look in to the matter and replace the same with a new one. Thanks and regards.

A 3 long 1/2 thick sheared and fell out on the driveway. The dealer (Jackie Cooper Imports, OKC) identified it as one of the bolts that bolts the transmission to the engine block. They could not say why it broke and BMW USA refused it as a warranty claim even though the driveline is covered by the CPO extended warranty. In the two years I have owned this car it has had the fuel pump go out, the fuse block melt, the water pump fail, and both catalytic converters fail. The dealer said call it was BMW USA, BMW USA would do nothing other than refer me to the dealer. This is a legitimate warranty claim and they are refusing to cover simply stating that is not covered by the warranty. No explanation, no body to talk to who can do anything about it. The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. I love their cars, I hate their company. The dealer has been equally useful.

I have dealt with Victoria BC BMW now for 5 years and am sorry to say that they have lost me as a customer. Forever. Awful, horrible, deplorable service. They simply disregard the clients concerns. Over the past 2 years my vehicle has been in the repair shop to have the following fixed and they simply just say they cant fix the following: a) A car that just stalls out of the blue for no reason. b) Brakes that squeal in reverse. c) Also the brakes needed to be replaced after 10K km!!! Which was not covered by warranty. This is ridiculous and there needs to be a recall on that model - 2018 X1.d) The trunk closes when you are half way inside of it. Very scary. I requested they disengage that automatic setting and they were unable to do it. ???? So I have lived for 2 years in fear of going into the trunk because it would randomly close on me when I was inside of it.BMW VICTORIA- you do not live up to the customer service mission statement of BMW.

Share my unfortunate experience with BMW quality! I bought a BMW X1 about 4 years 9 months ago. Troubles started just after bought it. This and that warning lights came up often. After about one year, the battery drains all the time, have to replace the whole electric and battery system. A few weeks ago, just about 9 months out of the warranty, I drove it to Utah for a vacation. When I drove back home, it broke down in a city with transmission malfunction warning on the way. I have to tow it to the city BMW service for repair. After spent more than $1200, I still cannot drive it back home. It needs to replace the transmission, costs more than $11000. Left me with no other options, I have to sell it to the BMW dealer cheap and rent a car back home! This car only has 47000 miles, the transmission is gone!

I purchased a 2008 BMW 335i as a second owner. Then, I discovered after the purchase that the title was branded lemon--manufacturer buy-back. Carfax did not have the word lemon until two years later when the state of California required the word lemon be added. Regardless, the BMW was a buy-back at 4,000 miles because the fuel pump failed. Eight months later, the below recall was issued:VOLUNTARY RECALL: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall--models w/ N54.The upshot of this is that my car was branded a lemon due to manufacturing failure but none of the cars post recall were branded as such. BMW refuses to intervene on my behalf to the California DMV, to reserve the title branding; thus, leaving my car worth 25% less than comparable values for this particular model. While trying to trade it at a BMW dealership, they confirmed that it wasnt worth 60% of comparable values.Doesnt BMW USA have a responsibility to make this right? None of this would have been known by me had I not seen a Carfax with the updated lemon language and had I not tried to sell the car, now with 35K miles on it. Please help me. BMW has flatly said that there is no recourse for me.

My first experience owning a 2009 BMW 535i: I recently took my vehicle to BMW of Columbus to have my in-tank electric fuel pump and a sensor repaired. I spent $1,254.00 to have it repaired. I picked up my car on Sept. 14, 2012. Shortly afterward, I was traveling north on I-185 and suddenly my check engine light came on. I began losing power and it started hesitating as well. It appears to be the same initial problem I had and thought it was fixed. Here I am now dropping my car off to a closed (late Friday evening) BMW dealer for repairs. I had plans to go on a vacation and now once again I cant go anywhere. I have never had this to happen to me. Its unbelievable! You dont expect this from a BMW. I hope they can get right the second time around and according to all the articles I have read (which I should have done my homework before I purchased it), 2009 BMW 535i are having a lot of fuel issues that should have been addressed and now as the consumer, I guess I have to suffer now. I think BMW needs to do more about the 535i fuel problems. I took my car in to BMW of Columbus. They initially diagnosed my car with the in-tank electric fuel pump and a sensor. I had that repaired for $1,254.00 and I was not happy with the bill because the 535I was notorious for having awful fuel problems. Shortly after I had it fixed, my car check engine light came back on and I had a sudden loss of power. And while this was happening, I am saying to myself this cannot be happening to me again. This was the second time I took my car to BMW of Columbus and it took them several days to find the problem. From my understanding, the 535Is injectors had a recall and they were checked and removed by a BMW tech, removed, refitted, scanned and possibly replaced but I am not sure. However, BMW of Columbus tech discovered that the last fuel injector closes to firewall of engine. One of the injectors bolt, which holds the injector down, was broken off into the engine block. The tech who performed it tried to cover it up by screwing an oversize bolt over the top of the broken bolt. The recall was done on Oct. 17, 2011 at 50,408 from center ID: 23055, but I purchased the car from Roswell Mitsubishi of Atlanta, Georgia at approximately 57,000. According to Stephane **, service consultant from BMW of Columbus, he stated that he spoke to the BMW dealer service manager from center ID: 23055, which performed N54 injector check (B131410). He claimed that if they did do it, the car should have malfunctioned before now. I got a chance to look at the area where the oversize bolt was, on the engine block. It was damaged all around the engine block with chips missing around it. This is the second week I am without my car and I have not heard from BMW customer service specialist Jodi. I sent Jodi another email, asking her to please contact me and I have yet to hear anything as of Sept. 26, 2012.I made another call on July 27, 2012 to North America BMW customer relations. I was able to get in contact with Jodi (who is handling my complaint). I left message on her voicemail. Stephane ** from BMW of Columbus called and left a message on my cellphone and he wanted to know something because he had not heard anything from North America BMW. It has been over the three to five business days and I have yet to hear from Jodi. As of today (Oct. 1, 2012), I have not heard anything from my customer representative Jodi.

Now the car is 51000 miles and it is leaking oil from the valve cover and is leaking oil from the main seal and needs motor mount. The car is service at BMW. The technician said he was going to have to lower the engine and transmission in order to change the main seal. Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. Good Morning my name is Mark ** and my wife name is Veronica **. We use to be proud owners of our 2010 BMW 528xi up until now. We purchased it on March 23, 2013 at Bolden Ltd dealer in Greenville NC. Weve owned 3 BMWs in the past and this will be the 4th and we were thinking about purchasing another one until our recent experience with our 2010 BMW 528xi. When we bought it all the services was up to date and it was still under warranty. It only had 33,761 miles on it. We took it in for service at BMW dealer at 36,000 miles for its 2nd oil change and all services was fine and the vehicle was up to date on its maintenance. There were no leaks and it drove great! Several months later we came back to BMW dealer in Kinston, NC for the 3rd oil change just before 50,000 warranty. We were recommended by BMW service technician to get everything that could be done under warranty because our 50,000 mile warranty was about to expire, so we agreed and let them do what was recommended. So they changed the oil and the fluids that were needed at that time, they replaced the wiper blades, and they replaced a oil cooler gasket and a oil filter housing gasket and gave me a 2 year warranty. We left feeling confident that everything should be fine with the vehicle for a while. Grant it we had no leaks prior to that service. Several months later about 15,000 miles we got our 4th oil change and several months after that we got our 5th oil change and everything was fine and there were no leaks. In August about the 18th we called BMW and Scheduled an appointment about a noise we were hearing at low speed from our ac vent inside the vehicle. They told us to come in on Saturday 8/22/15 @ 8:00 am. Upon arriving we were taken in by Trish at Sale BMW in Kinston, NC and she came out to listen to the noise we were hearing but of course the car wouldnt make the noise so I told her to lift the hood and turn the AC on to see if the noise could be heard but upon looking under the hood we noticed a lot of oil under the hood so she recommended that we get it checked out while we were there, so we agreed! About 2 hours later we had to ask them what was going on and what did they find. Trish then took me in the shop so the shop Foreman could show me what he found. He told me that the Oil Cooler was leaking, the oil filter housing was leaking, the valve cover was leaking, and the oil pan was leaking. The quote they gave me was well over 2,000 dollars for everything. I was shocked mainly because they never looked in my history before to see that they had replaced the oil filter housing and the oil cooler gasket less than 2 years ago and grant it, it wasnt leaking when they replaced it under warranty. So, that rubbed me the wrong way and secondly Ive owned BMWs before that had no leaks like this one. Well upon me notifying Trish to check my service history she found out that the Oil filter housing and cooler gasket was still under warranty. So they fixed it while we were there for free. We were satisfied with them fixing it for free but if I didnt inform them that it had already been done then we believe we would have paid for it again. The vehicle has 84,000 miles on it and it has oil leaks already. We are unhappy with these oil leaks after 5 oil changes. Our previous BMWs were not leaking oil. Please call us about this matter. Mark ** or Veronica **. We look forward to your response to this matter.

I would like to share my disgust and aggravation with BMW Assist. Last night, after dropping my son off at soccer practice in South Florida, I placed my dog and my purse in the front seat of my BMW X5. I proceeded to close the door and walk over to the driver’s side. To my disbelief, all the doors were locked and my dog was stuck in a stifling hot vehicle. I called BMW Assist frantically, requesting that they open my door. They asked for all my information including my address, vehicle VIN, etc. The only information I was unable to provide them with was my enrollment date (as all the paperwork, along with my dog), was locked in my vehicle. I begged the woman to ask me any other security question. She said “sorry, I can’t help you”. I told her my dog was dying and suffocating in the vehicle. She said without this information she was unable to send a signal to my car. She was rude, unsympathetic and didn’t care about my dog’s well-being.We called the police and the city sent a fire truck and policeman to assist in saving my dog’s life. Luckily, however, my son was able to sign into our account, from home, and retrieve the necessary information before the police needed to get involved. I was so upset that I called both BMW North America and BMW Assist. I was told that this was a security measure to avoid theft. I would rather my car be stolen than to lose a life. What would the woman have done if it were a baby? Let the baby die to avoid potential theft.I am sorry, but I choose life over theft. I was also told that the woman could have opened the vents in my vehicle but never offered to do so. BMW Assist supervisor also told me that she should have informed me with an officer at hand, that she would be allowed to send a signal. Neither step was, however, taken. I am very fortunate that my dog is alive, but unfortunately from no assistance provided by BMW. This is unacceptable and procedures and policies should be established so that this never happens again.

We sent our 2009 BMW 328i for 85000 mile service, at the same time our A/C was not working. BMW West Houston did a full check, and recommended a lot of parts changes, including the evaporator + gaskets, auxiliary belt and tensioner + bolt-belt tensioner, oil filter housing gasket. The total cost was 3000 USD+. Immediately when I took my car back after the service, the car panel shows the Triangle exclamatory mark, according to BMW West Houston shop that this is the software issue, can be reset easily, I can bring the car back to reset. From the last service, 3 weeks later, the driving mileage shows 570 miles, I start to hear a sharp noise, and soon the service engine soon light turned on. I brought the car back to BMW shop, after diagnostic, BMW has quote again 3000+ USD for some other parts to be changed, and told me to reset the software back I need to pay 500 USD to remove that. It is ridiculous after the full service with a lot of recommended parts replacement, just after 3 weeks the car has such a big issue again, especially there were about 10 days we actually didnt use the car in between. My Toyota gave none of these problems, nor does my sons Subaru. Also they dont provide a courtesy vehicle in Spokane citing the global supply chain. I absolutely love the 2017 BMW 7-Series. This is my second BMW and its my all time favorite. This car drives like nothing I have driven before. I had owned a series 3 prior to this purchase and found that it was easy to park, but just not big enough for everything we do. That was the main determining factor in purchasing this car. The leg room in the back is what you find in the front seat. No worrying about the front seat hitting your knees when the front seat is adjusted. With the front seats as far back as possible, there is still ample leg room, even for a tall person. The only thing that I have an issue about is the hefty repair charges. In the previous car, quite a bit after the warranty expired, I needed some repairs done. After purchasing the new model, we found the repair bill for the old car. It was nearly the amount that we put down as the cash deposit. Repairs can get expensive but it is worth it. All the controls are easy to read and figure out. The music that comes with the car is phenomenal. I have never heard speakers sound this good in factory sound system. Typically if you want sounds this good you would need to purchase a new stereo package as an after purchase add on. Also, the way it hugs the corners and curves is unbelievable. This is the smoothest ride ever.

I took it to import car specialist and diagnosed/ready to be repaired when I read the article about the injector recall on 2010, previously produced BMW. I called toll free to confirm if that is true. A representative responded my call and told me it is not the recall, but they extended warranty and told me to take it to the dealership. I was about to spend $1700 at the import specialist, so I was so excited about it. I called repair shop right away and canceled the repair, and told them I just spoke BMW representatives and he said I have warranty. The repair guy congratulated me saving a lot and asked me to tow my car since the sounds are real unstable so I towed my car to dealership. They took my statement took my car.The next day, the dealership called me and told me I dont have warranty and call the company again to confirm. So I called the same number, the representative who answered my phone was so rude (and she will contact me several more times to tell me the exactly the same story) and asked my VIN number, and the VIN number I gave her doesnt have the warranty. I tried to explain to her what had happened a day before, but she wouldnt listen. She kept saying that she doesnt have any record of me calling, even if I copied my phone call photos and Verizon statement. Several uncomfortable conversations/emails/proof of BMW dealers statement of it saying I believed that the warranty was covered at the time of my vehicle was received at the dealership, they denied their responsibilities, and treated me like I am the liar.Who would go through that trouble not believing having warranty, paying $700 more than the imported specialist and towing and double dipping diagnostic fees. My car is still in dealers while I argued with them to admit their mistakes, but no apologies, but I became a liar of calling them, they couldnt find my number that morning calls... etc.I still dont have car two weeks later (still in the dealership) and wrote a last email, I gave up. All I can do is let my friends and family know what theyve done to me, how they treat their customers and encourage them not to be in a situations like me. It is not only pain to deal with people who doesnt believe me with all the evidence I presented, but also ignore their responsibilities of what they informed to their customers. I ended up will pay close to $2500 to change the problem injectors, but I ended up not suffering from them ever because I will never take my car to the dealership and never buy another BMW.I really regret my friends recommendation not to buy one years ago, all I would get is trouble... and yes. Anyone out there, know this. They will tell you, while looking at the image of your phone record, You never called us, we dont have a record of your number. Not honest, soon or later the business will pay the price for it. Just like our lives.

There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.

I have a 2012 BMW X5 and the rims are always black and dirty. I took it into my local dealer on Dixie Road in Mississauga and was told there is nothing can be done as the brake pads are made to release the black power and the rims will always be nasty. Also I have a Samsung Note Edge phone that I just bought and was also told that it cannot be paired with the bluetooth as BMW doesnt support or have the updated system to make it work. Why pay $90,000 for a vehicle that your phone cannot pair to and have to drive around with filthy rims. Help...

BMW Financial has various rates at various times when shopping for a car. So make sure you take your time, then jump on your auto of choice when you can get a good interest rate. The website for BMW Fi is NOT user friendly. Every time you want to get online you need to ask for a code. Then hopefully enter the code in the time allowed, or you will start over. The courtesy and friendliness of BMW Fi can be a lot better than it is. Overall, I would certainly not recommend them, but this is what is offered at the dealership. Ive had 3 car loans with them and they are all problematic in one way or another.

I have a 2013 BMW 328i with just under 40,000 miles. The fuel pump went out last Friday 6/15/2018. No excuse for a fuel pump going out at this point. It is still under the 50,000 mile warranty criteria, but over the time limit. I received no satisfaction from the dealer or BMW customer service for replacing the pump at no cost or reduced cost to me. Apparently BMW values dollars over customer service and reliability. Highly recommend against anyone purchasing a BMW.

My 2017 X1 was blacked out and completely died while entering the freeway. The BMW computer system failed to alert or display any warnings about the faulty battery or vehicle. We were unable to turn on the hazard light to alert the other drivers. All we could do was praying that the police will show up before we get hit by other vehicles. BMW of North America has refused to accept any liabilities for the defective battery used to build the X1.

Would not waste your time on this overpriced garbage unless you have money to burn and time to waste! Avoid BMW like the plague! Customer service is the pits! I own a 1999 BMW 328i e46. At 0715hrs March/23/2017 I was driving to work when out of nowhere and for no reason the drivers side A-pillar and door airbags deployed striking my left arm leaving a bruise and pushing me towards the center console. I contacted BMW of North America and spoke to a representative and was asked to deliver the vehicle to the nearest dealership so they can perform an investigation. At 1525 hrs April/11/2017 I contacted the representative at BMW, she told me that the sensors sensed an impact even though there is no recent physical damage to the undercarriage of my car. She then proceeded to tell me my cars suspension is worn out and couldve caused enough shock to set off my airbag.Instead of taking responsibility for an obvious manufacturer issue she then tried to blame it on age then changed back to a sensor recorded an impact. Then offered me $1500 to Help with repairs to my car in-house only. I need my car. Its how I get to work so I can take care of my family. I cant cover the existing amount of $3000 to cover the rest as quick as I need my car! BMW should pay for all the damages! Airbags should NEVER deploy without an accident! The car broke itself and tried to kill me in the process. Luckily I am 230 pounds and 61 tall. This couldve killed anyone smaller!!! Very scary and disappointing!

I own a certified BMW 335d. In June of 2015 the check engine light went on for the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank malfunctioning. This is a device that is needed to make the car USA emissions compliant. I was told by my dealer that the part was on back order for 2 weeks and to continue to drive the car. After 2 months I decided to call BMW Customer care to let them know I needed to register my car in California in October and it needed to pass a smog check. With the check engine light it will not pass, thus making my car fall out of registration. They told me they would help me. After numerous promised dates for the part to fix my car, they told me mine was on top priority and I would get the next one in from Germany. I spoke with my dealer and they told me that since my part was ordered, they received 5 at their dealership that went to other clients that were ahead of me on the list. Their cars did not have the same registration issue as mine, so the priority for those cars to get fixed should be lower. I was not told the truth by BMW of North America. The next one is plain and simple--the next one. BMW of North America is saying it is the field representative that is responsible for the dates and the dealer is telling me it is BMW N.A. Bottom line is they lied to me that I was on top priority and they are giving me the runaround. As of today I am stuck with a car I was told to drive that is now out of registration. Its really nice to make car payments that you cannot drive. BMW absolutely does not care about the customer and they are trained to give customers false answers. They are quite rude on the phone as well. They say I understand, when they really dont care and want to get you off the phone. The customer care department has no real information and they are just put there as a facade. It comes with great pain to say this as the cars themselves are really great cars, but DO NOT BUY A BMW. Great cars, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

For the past 10 months I have been unsuccessful in getting BMW North America to pay a rebate. If this was the first time I would accept this as just bad luck - however in ALL cases that I have applied for rebates the same BMW policy/process has been adopted to reject a rebate claim regardless if all documents have been submitted correctly. BMW should not offer rebates if the intent is not to pay the rebate or they make it so difficult that the average person just gives up as the rebate value does not warrant the effort.I have received excellent (amazing) service from Darian BMW for the past 7 years, however BMWs corporate policy regarding automatic rejection of rebates is an unethical business practice and is going to drive customers like myself to support competing manufacturer like Discovery who honor their programs and pay rebates promptly. I have applied for 3 rebates in the past 6 years from BMW, with only one rebate been paid after many months of continues arguments and re-submissions.Rebate 1: After months of following up I was informed that the first rebate was received by BMW but the voucher needed to be submitted by myself as the program had ended. BMW North America informed me that it is the customers responsibility to retain advertising documents as proof of rebate. As I did not retain a copy of the advertising documents, and was unable to get a copy from BMW the claim was rejected and not paid.Rebate 2: I submitted a rebate claim with advertising documents and BMW invoice. As with rebate 1 the application was in the system and been processed, however after 3 months of continues follow-up I was informed that the application was rejected as not all of the paperwork was received (even though BMW had confirmed previously that documents had been received and payment was been processed). In this case I had proof of submission and that all paperwork was provided.BMW apologized and said they would process, however 2 months later I followed up to query why I did not receive the rebate. BMW informed me that they are unable to process the rebate as they have no record of the rebate program. Having learnt from the first rebate I retained all documents. I resubmitted (3 times) the paperwork with a copy of the rebate advertising documents etc. BMW once again apologized and finally processed the rebate. Total process time over 8 months with numerous calls, emails and re-submissions.Rebate 3: Rebate 3 was submitted with Rebate 2 (same time) as the work was completed at the same time. BMW received all paperwork but in this case BMW North America forgot to process this rebate with rebate 2. BMW apologized and at first agreed to honor the rebate. After 9 months of continues follow-up BMW North America have informed me that they do not have the money to pay this rebate and that payment will need to be processed from BMW Germany? BMW North America acknowledge receipt of all the paperwork including the advertising documents. Today (02/07/2017) I receive a call from BMW North America notifying me that I am refusing to submit the paperwork and therefore BMW are unable to process the rebate???

I purchased an R1200 ST in March 2011. The bike was not serviced or registered in my name upon delivery, and came without the spare key. A week later, the clutch gave in. It was only three weeks later before the registration and an agreement to repair the bike were done. After the second wash, scratches appeared on the tank and covers. A long debate and threats ensued to have the bike repaired, with a promise that it would receive priority treatment. A month later, the bike was delivered without keys, service book and the same scratches. The keys were delivered two days later at 02:00 in the morning. Currently, Im trying to locate my service book from the dealer with no response. BMW SA refused to assist me with my original complaint, and now with the service book. The product may be good, but the after-sale service in South Africa is non-existent.

We love the style lines and color of BMW 328i. Its a well-rounded car with its size, luxury features, maintenance and insurance costs. When test driving it we were really impressed with how quickly it responds to the driver. It drives like a dream. We also like the convenience features, quality feels when you close the doors and touch the fabrics/ Materials used inside. Very pretty color and we enjoyed the car dealerships low pressure, friendly and helpful attitude. Phone interaction and price were all attractive to us. However, I wish the engine sounded deeper/ Stronger. Wish it had a standard rearview camera, it seems strange a luxury car brand would not have this as standard today. Also, why do all BWMs eventually smell like crayon?

Originally I loved my 2011 BMW 335d diesel with 140,000 miles. I am the original owner. Vehicle develops serious carbon buildup due to direct injection. $4000.00 repair (decarb intake manifold). Manufacturer obviously knows about it because they stopped producing this vehicle. Then a few months later, emissions NOx sensors go bad and no way to fix without replacing catalytic converter and both front and rear NOx sensors. So far $2300 just for parts. The vehicle only gives you 200 miles to get her into a shop then it wont start. Imagine if every vehicle with a Check Engine Light on wouldnt run after 200 miles. To make matters worse, catalytic converters are back ordered going on three weeks now with a rental. Please advise.

My complaint is in regards to how BMW handled a known issue with their Footwell Module 3 (ie FRM component). I recently purchased a used 2010 335i. While out Christmas shopping the car would not start. We had AAA tow it to one of their repair facilities. Their diagnosis determined the starter had died. After installation of the new starter, the repair shop was unable to get the windows back up. Upon further diagnosis they suspected an issue with the FRM module (which controls things like blinkers, wipers, automatic windows, etc). We then had the car towed to a local BMW dealership who confirmed the FRM was bad. Apparently, simply reconnecting the car battery which AAA had disconnected to do the starter replacement caused something in the FRM to get fried. My issue with this situation is that both AAA and the BMW dealer were aware of an issue with the FRM module in this model year BMW. BMW itself was also aware of the issue and offered a 10yr 150k mile limited warranty on a replacement. While my car is well below the mileage limit, it was just past the year limit and so BMW would not do anything to help with the cost of a new FRM. With parts and labor the new part was $1200.With other car brands Ive had, when there is a KNOWN issue with a part, the car company issues a recall and fixes the issue at no cost to the owner. This is what BMW should have done with this FRM issue. It was a known issue to the company (caused by something other than normal wear and tear like with my starter) and should have been replaced for me -- if not for free, at least with some kind of discount.

BMW Financial is irresponsible and incompetent in managing consumer accounts. I had an account with BMW and made payments through Moneygram over a period of four months. Moneygram was not informed BMW was no longer using their services, even though each payment appeared to be received by BMW Financial. My car broke down. I took it to the dealer and it was repossessed for non payment, even though I had receipts indicating payments had been made. As a result, I was stranded in another state with a child. And they wouldnt accept the payments, even though cash was offered to immediately cover the payments they purportedly didnt receive. I will never buy another BMW or deal with their financial services, which appear to be managed by over zealous teens. They have no future other than pretending to have authority over people who drive cars they otherwise probably couldnt afford.

Leased a 2013 328xi, brand new, off the lot! Loved the car for the first six months until I was driving one day and the car shut off while driving down a back road. An error code read on the screen, so I called BMW. They manually reset the code, car started right up and drove home. I didnt think anything of it until a month later, Im driving 70 miles on the highway and the car shuts off again! Called BMW and drove the car directly to the dealership. They had the car for a week and couldnt replicate the issue and blamed it on the cold winter we were having even though the car is garaged. Fast-forward another 3 months.. Its spring, warm outside and car shuts down again driving on the highway. This time, almost got into an accident and since I was close to the dealership, drove right there. I refused to take the car back until they figured out the cause, and cold weather wasnt to blame. They had the car almost a full month and couldnt replicate the issue. They claim that there was a loose rear distribution box and fuel pump. Three weeks later, car is back in for check engine light. I get the car back but called corporate BMW and got a complete runaround. Three times in one year the car shuts off, COMPLETELY UNSAFE! After a month of going back and forth with a resolution specialist, BMW refuses to terminate the lease and offers a credit for money toward the lease. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Still trying to climb the corporate ladder and find someone to speak to. What happens if the next shut off cause an accident?? They dont care, no customer service, and no regard for safety. I purchased a pre-owned 2008 BMW 750IL with about 50,000 miles. I drove it to 92,000 miles before I had to trade it in. I have purchased three BMWs and have had serious service issues with the last two. The specific problem I have had with the last one related to the cars inability to start. I had to have it towed into the dealership 4 times when it would not start. In each case the dealer thought they solved the problem but had not. I paid $1,800 to have it fixed but without success. The dealer returned my money because they told me that even though they got the car running, they could not guarantee that it was fixed. This was a problem in the engine computer. Since the car was unpredictable to start, I had to trade it in on a new car, an Infiniti.I will never buy a BMW again. What is so frustrating about this situation is that I intended to keep this car for another 50,000 miles and the engine, if it started, certainly could easily deliver these miles. This situation forced me to invest +$50,000 that I had never budgeted for. I could not have a car that I did not know from one day to the next if it would start. When you pay this amount for a luxury car, you should not have to be stressed out about its ability to start. And for the dealership not to be able to fix and ask me to go away is quite a disappointment! I will be sure to tell hundreds of people over time my story and to recommend they never buy a BMW!!!

Our 2003 X5 has just hit 50,000 miles. We have replaced the battery 6 times. Our drivers side door and passenger door would not close in cold temperatures. Our air conditioner quit, was replaced and never worked after spending $1000 for the repair. I could go on. But this time, I went to Watertown BMW CT and after being told countless times about how my issues (11+ repairs that have recurred), that these things are normal and I just dont drive my car enough. The air bag that never worked when we bought the car and finally paid to have repaired post warranty. It still never worked. It was a different part this time and would cost another $600, and on and on. I heard excuses every time. The loaner is all good, but I dont have time for this. Finally this time, I asked about a tail light. The warning was check brake light, check rear lights. I was told by the service manager that my $516 diagnostic fee would have picked this up, it must have been because my brand new one week old 7th battery died right before I took the car in. He swore that their diagnostics picked up everything including the auxiliary fan that wouldnt shut off causing my brand new battery to die for the 6th time. The minute I got into the car, I discovered the same check brake light warning. It is a tail light out. I called and he said, we do have intermittent problems with the lights. I said, I asked you to check it. He blew it off then oh well maam, you can bring it back in and we will fix it. So much for the reliability of their diagnostics! We have owned 4 BMWs in our lifetime. This one has been a joke literally. My car hood is always up outside of our business in town charging the car battery where all can see. The service guy said, we sell extension cords for that. Do you want to buy one?. I say we use it all the time!. BMW has lost their way. I cant say enough about how the dealership will not pay anything that BMW wont pay to them. Therefore, they are experts at making excuses that seem plausible until your warranty is up and you have no recourse. Dont buy a BMW. Also, may I add that the parking lot was full of repair cars that I couldnt find a place to park the loaner when I returned it?

I leased a 2014 BMW X5 at the end of December 2013. On this vehicle I have had the oil indicator light come on 5 times. Every time the light came on I brought it to the dealership. A service tech would come out, look at the light, open the hood, add oil and then reset the computer in the car and tell me that I am all set to go. The car now has 20,000 miles and on April 19th the oil indicator light came on and an error message displayed on the screen that read drivetrain malfunction. I immediately contacted my dealership as the car had a horrible shake to it and the message indicated to drive the vehicle at low speeds. I brought it in for service on April 21st which was Monday. The dealership contacted me Tuesday telling me that my engine was damaged beyond repair and it was my fault because I had not taken the car in at 10,000 miles. He then told me that the cars computer would have pinged the dealership and then I would have received a phone call to schedule a service. I told him that a call never happened and he searched on his computer and to his surprise the car indeed never pinged them and he agreed I never received the call yet I was setup for that service. He then said the car however pinged them on April 19th for a service but never prior to that validating what I had been telling him the entire time. He said I should have had an indicator light come on and the car should have pinged but he could not find a record of it. I told him that every time the indicator light came on, I brought it in and his service techs came out and took care of it and sent me on my way. I then asked him when I brought it in when the lights came on why did his service techs not know that car needed to stay for service and he replied to me that they were not trained for that, that they were only trained for top offs. I have done everything that I was supposed to do. I always brought the car in when the lights came on yet apparently the dealership doesnt train their service techs to fully understand what the vehicle needs. Now I am left with almost a $1300 monthly payment on a vehicle that has no motor and a dealership that doesnt want to take responsibility.

Called BMW customer service to start the process of getting reimbursed for the defective part. Was told it is not covered unless repaired by a certified BMW dealer. BMW is claiming that a bird could strip paint from my 2014 X3, which I purchased just 3 months ago. This pre-certified car is awesome in every way, but I have owned 2 BMWs and 4 Volvos prior to this and have never had any damage to the finish from a bird. They are telling me that the damage is outside their warranties. I find it hard to believe they do not warrant their finishes. Stay away from this car; paint is fragile. If you have to be worried about bird **, you should look for something a lot less expensive. High end is not what finishes this car.

We leased a brand new 2011 750Li. One month later, the car lost its power, and the engine light went on. We took it to the dealership, where it stayed for 10 days! Finally, they found the problem, fixed it, and we picked up the car. We drove the car out of the Vista Service at 11AM. At 6PM the same day, the car stalled in middle of the road. We called Vista to tow it, and the car is there for already 20 days. Nobody knows how long it will be stay there. They could not even find the problem. They kept telling us stories. After probably spending thousands of dollars out of their pockets, since it is under warranty (the car is 1 month old!), they told us that a rat got under the hood, and chewed all the wires. Now, they have blamed us for it, after a month in their body shop. Now we had to make a claim with our insurance, and pay the deductible fees for it. Meanwhile, they gave us an X5 as a loaner. A couple of days ago, we went to the supermarket, walked out, and found that the rear windshield was broken. Now, the dealership does not want to exchange the loaner, and I have to drive it with the broken window, with a 1 year old child in it, and a stroller full of glass. The insurance company is laming the dealership, and we have to pay another $500 for the window, and I even cannot exchange the cars after I paid. The worst dealership in the world. The salesperson was the best-James **, no hard feelings, you are the best! What cannot say about James ** in service department. The brand new car has been in service for more than 30 days.

I am appalled that I have had so many issues with this vehicle (2012 BMW 335i). When I purchased this car, my thinking was that I was receiving a premium vehicle; it is far from that. Engine rebuild after 110,000 miles - Heres the scenario. I was driving home from work and a yellow thermometer lit up on the display screen and in less than 10 seconds, a red thermometer was displayed. I pulled off the freeway and immediately felt the lack of power in the car. It felt like I was driving a 4 cylinder car. There was never any warning of low fluids or overheating before this. I filled it with BMW coolant and drove it to my mechanic. While I was driving to the mechanic, I got a low fluid warning, yellow thermometer and red thermometer within 30 seconds. My mechanic took a look at it and I have a blown head gasket, which is costing me $2200. Ive owned the car since day one and have kept up with all the maintenance, with one year out of warranty. I didnt expect this to happen. BMW has to add temperature gauges to their center display. I had no knowledge that my engine was overheating or that I was low on fluid until it was too late. Im out $2,200 and need to find alternative transportation while my car is being repaired. At this point, I would not recommend a BMW for anyone.

I was wondering whether you might be interested in running a story about what to watch out for when leasing a car. I am having a very difficult time with BMW Financial Services organization and have identified at least 4 ways that their owners choice agreement does harm to the customer. I learned a lot and thought it could be of potential interest to your readers. After turning in my i3 at the two year lease end, and making every payment like clockwork, and returning the car in immaculate condition (nothing found wrong by the independent examiner), they are suddenly hounding me to pay them $353 purportedly so they can use that money to sell the car to someone else. What, I said? I leased the car from you, its your responsibility to sell it. I have tried talking to them but they claim that this money clawback fee, is somewhere buried in the fine print of their agreement.Strangely, no matter how many times I spoke with all of the people at the dealership no one ever made me aware of this situation. And the Financial Services Group was irrational when I called them. When I explained that I bought another i3 but I didnt finance it, they wouldnt take off the fee. It would seem that finance group at the dealership needs to tell the customer when we are in there signing pages and pages of documents. But my real wonder here is why BMW management would want to pursue this after the fact, fee extraction extortion strategy.I was told, now after the fact, that had I did another financing with BMW finance they would have waived the fee. However, the reason I didnt buy the i3 I had from the dealer was because I was told that I would have to pay a $2,200 customer loyalty fee over the street value of the car. And I actually have this in writing. Is this a rational thing for a customer to be told? Is that what loyalty means to BMW Finance. Hey you are loyal, so you need to pay $2,200 more for the car? For $350, and what they want it for, I can tell you that they arent earning goodwill and keep customers this way. I have two other tax issues that harmed me that was also part of their program. These were tax related and needlessly abusive policies. Anyway, I dont think I will be leasing another car from BMW Finance.

I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. I took my car for service and they cannot still find what is going on because my car is one of the thousands with the engine failing. I purchased my 2013 BMW 328i in 2015. The car has about 46.000 miles on it, and it is just out of warranty. The check engine light went on. I took it to Stevens Creek BMW for repair. After they did the diagnosis, they texted me I need new NVLD pump. I confirmed with them that it is $546 including parts and labor. However, when I came to pick up the car, they charged me $761.89. They told me the additional $215.89 was diagnosis fee. I was wondering why the dealer charge diagnosis fee. Isnt that diagnosis part of the repair procedure. I paid the full amount anyway.I took my car and went on the freeway for couple miles. The check engine light came back on again. I assumed that they didnt test drive after the repair. I ended up to take my car back to the dealer the next day. They did another diagnosis and found a different problem. It was fuel tank venting valve. This time the problem seems fixed. I think I shouldnt pay for the diagnosis fee because I let them repair in same dealership. They didnt told me there were diagnosis fee prior to my authorization of repair. Second, I paid $190 for the fault repair pump which the fuel tank venting valve shouldnt cost that much. My suggestion is that you want to make sure what is total amount you have to pay... Watch out for any hidden cost.

I am not fully sure why BMW thinks they can get away with having faulty engines in over 500K cars for a seven year period but theyre doing it. Now they want me to pay $4600 to fix something they knew was broken? That is utterly ridiculous. How is it that these major car companies can have recall after recall and not be reprimanded or mandated by law to sit a few months or years? Or even have quarterly inspections regarding the quality theyre producing... I was almost killed in a car accident by a semi-truck when my engine stalled on the highway from 70 to 30 mph in under 2 seconds. All I can recall is hearing the screeching of the truck as it fishtailed behind me, not to rear end me. However, I must pay for it? Wow. I purchased a new 325i in 04 and drove it for 11 years. For the first 100,000 miles, it had absolutely zero issues. Never had to take it in unless for an oil/battery change. Overall I was very pleased with having purchased a German car, until it reached 140k miles. In a 6 month span, my 04 325i (worth only $5,000) has broken down SEVEN times. In this timeframe I have invested close to $7,000 solely in repairs. This car has broken down on the side of the road (needed new fuel pump, $700), the window motor needed to be replaced ($600), crack in radiator (had to replace entire radiator, $1,400), needed new air pump and strut replaced ($1,800) yet another radiator replacement ($1000), and finally, when I started my car the exhaust spewed white smoke with the smell of gas (hoses and valves and a gasket were replaced, $1,400). Do NOT purchase a BMW or any German car for that matter. These cars are completely unreliable and not meant to be driven for hundreds of thousands of miles. There is a reason dealerships will only cover maintenance for the first 90k miles. Dont be penny smart and dollar stupid! These foreign cars are not worth it!

Problem 1: Transfer case have been replace several times and Im still having problems with this high price Junk. Problem 2: About 6 months ago the car started sputtering when you accelerate. I found online that you can take your BMW 2011 750LI xdrive in for a customer care package (They did not call it a recall but a customer care package). I thought this would correct the problems because they replace some sensors and vacuum hose but the problem is still there. BMW did a full diagnostic and said Remove and replace all injectors (x8), ignition coils (x8), and spark plugs (x8). (During the inspection found the vehicle misfiring). Final cost will run $6777.00. My warranty company will refuse to pay because they wanted to know what would you replace all 8 injectors and all of the other parts because all 8 injectors cant be bad. The warranty company think BMW know they have a faulted Injection systems and trying to upgrade and correct the problem at the customer expense. The car burn major oil, BMW claim this is normal. I will get a second opinion. This is the worst car I have ever own and when you spend a 100,000 on a car you expect to drive it more then 4 years without all of the problems these car has cost us. I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 X3 in 2009, which luckily means I have a warranty till 2013. When I bought it in May 2009, it had the service engine light on and dealer tells me its due service and will do it the week after. Ever since, the light keeps coming up every 2 months, and the dealer takes a week to do something. Then he tells me that they do whatever BMW tells them to do and gives it back saying that the problem has been resolved. So far, I have had at least ten such trips. The last two trips are taking much longer. The last trip took 19 days about month and half ago. I went in again on Nov 28th and it is still being looked at. The dealer has provided me a loaner car so I dont have a major hassle as a result. But it is amazing that this supposedly superior engineering company cannot figure out after so many tries why the stupid light comes on. Can any one really trust their advanced systems like iDrive and so on to actually work? Is BMW more of a superior marketing engine as opposed to a superior engineering company? The evidence suggests that they are definitely a superior marketing company.
