Audi Troubleshooting

Audi is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. As a subsidiary of its parent company, the Volkswagen Group, Audi produces vehicles in nine production facilities worldwide.

Automobile Troubleshooting

The car is silent when you turn the key in the ignition.
Check the battery terminal cable connections. If they look very corroded, force the point of a screwdriver (with an insulated or wooden handle) between the connector and the terminal post and twist it to lodge it firmly. Then try to start the engine. If it starts, you need to clean or replace your cables.

The car makes a clicking noise but won't start.
This sound usually means a dead battery. If not, check the wiring to and from the starter for a loose connection.

The car cranks over but won't start.
Check the fuel supply to your engine. If that's okay, check whether the electrical spark is getting to your spark plugs.

The engine starts but dies.
If your car has a carburetor, check your carburetor adjustment and your choke to see whether the choke is first closing and then opening. If you have a fuel injection, you'll need professional help.

The car won't start on rainy days.
Check inside the distributor cap for dampness. If you find moisture, get some mechanic's solvent from your friendly service station — they use it to clean car parts — or buy an aerosol can of it at an auto supply store. To evaporate any dampness inside the distributor cap, turn the cap upside down and pour or spray some solvent into it. Swish it around and pour it out. Then dry the cap as best you can with a clean, lint-free rag and replace the cap. Use only clean solvent; even a tiny speck of dirt can foul the points. Gasoline won't do because a spark can ignite gasoline fumes and cause an explosion or a fire.

The car won't start on cold mornings.
For vehicles with carburetors, check the choke. Is it closed? Does it open? If you have a fuel injection, you'll need to have a professional diagnose the cold-start problems.

The engine misses while idling.
Check the points (if your car has a non-electronic distributor) and the spark plugs. Also check the fuel pump, fuel filter, and carburetor, if you have one.

The engine misses or hesitates during acceleration.
Check the accelerator pump in the carburetor (if equipped), the spark plugs, the distributor, and the timing.

The engine knocks or pings.
Check your timing; also check the octane rating of the fuel you're using. The owner's manual can tell you whether your vehicle needs regular unleaded or premium gasoline. Check the cooling system. Do a compression check on the engine cylinders.

I have a 2014 Audi Q5 and recently for no reason whatsoever, the power steering failed and nearly caused an accident. I mentioned it to my local Audi service department and had them look at it while it was in for 3 other recalls. They agreed that the power steering was not responding and it would have to be replaced. I explained to them that the car is barely driven and has never been in an accident. And I find it unacceptable that a car company that has built a reputation on handling and drivability would have a complete steering failure at 40k miles which they informed me is just out of warranty. I was told at my local Audi dealership that It would have to be paid for out of pocket so I called Audi customer support. This was over 2 weeks ago and since then I have gotten no clear information on the issue. I have been through 3 customer service reps and they have changed stories multiple times. The second to last time they informed me that there was a program that the local Audi dealership has to help in situations like this. So I went back to Audi only to find out that they have no such program and they werent even told about this from the customer service rep. I was supposed to receive an answer almost a week ago and it keeps getting pushed off. At this point I still can not drive the car or else risk getting into a serious accident. I also want to point out that I did research and found out that the SQ5 version of this Audi has a recall on the same issue. I further researched it thinking that the steering system was different only to find out it is the same part number. This is clearly a defect and Audi should be responsible for fixing it. I cant even get a clear answer as to what it would cost since the dealership has changed the price on me multiple times. At this point the car cant be driven and I dont see why I would need to spend up to $3,500 to replace the entire power steering rack on a car with low miles that has been well taken care of. I also dont trust the service department at my local Audi since they informed me that my brakes and rotors need to be changed yet I just had them done about 1,500 miles ago. I am at a loss with Audi and just want the steering replaced so I can safely trade this in on a different brand vehicle or sell it out right. I dont feel safe driving it and I wouldnt want to sell it to someone else as is. If this car is driven it will cause a severe accident.

I drive a 2012 Audi A6 SuperCharged. A few days ago I received a recall for fuel pump change, in that I called the nearest Audi dealership to make an appointment for the change on 01/26/2017. In the process of the change I decided to have an oil change. At the dealership everyone was very nice and took care of me within the process of the service and assured me that the fuel pump and the oil change has been taken care of and paid 140.27 dollars for the oil change. The biggest part me going to the dealership was because of the recall for the fuel pump because of the letter I received a few days ago. This morning 01/27/2017, after my daily routine coming home the car engine suddenly turned off. The worst part of this was that I was traveling on a highway, Palisades Parkway to be exact. On the dashboard of the car there were no indication of something wrong. The fuel gauge was indicated as that the car had fuel in the car. Not thinking about the amount of fuel that is in the car, I thought that there was something wrong with the engine itself. Thinking back from yesterdays service, the service was for the fuel pump recall. Thinking that it couldnt be fuel because I just came out of the service for this problem, but to be sure I called a friend to bring some gas to put in the car. Sure enough after adding fuel into the car the car started and I was able to drive to the nearest gas station to fill up.In all, this complaint is for the service at the Audi Town Motors of Englewood NJ where they specialize in Audi. Having trusted that an Audi dealership would know how to service an Audi car, was the worst mistake of my life. Driving a car in the highway, all of the sudden losing an engine and feeling a life or death situation was something that I wanted to share. Cars flying by me trying desperately to move the car to a safe place to park was something that no one should experience. I would like to formally put a complaint to the Audi Town Motors of Englwood NJ at 400 South Dean St Englewood NJ 07631. For the life or death situation I was in and amount of time I had to suffer for the mistakes that the Audi made, in a recall that Audi of America formally gave out to all of the Audi owners.

This review is about Audi Canada and dealers In Toronto. I purchased a 2010 demo S5 in 2019 and I have not had a consecutive 6 months or more without this lemon of a vehicle breaking down. From new transmission to all sorts of electronic fixes, the radio, buzzing sounds, catalytic converter, windows, clutch, coolant reservoir, etc. etc., the most incredibly annoying is that I am on my 7th (yes, SEVENTH) thermostat replacement - the first 5 by Audi and under warranty and the last 2 on my dime! When attempting to have them recall this part and or compensate me for 6 (and ongoing) failures of the same part, they basically told me theyre not responsible. Comically, one set of thermostat had to be replaced only days after Audi Midtown installed a new one. This was my first and last Audi! Never Again!

My family has owned 6 VWs and Audis. The A4s were flawless, and the Tiguans worked well. The 2010 Q5 had mechanical and component issues and the new 2014 Q5 is getting gas mileage 10-20% below EPA sticker. Our overall mileage average is 10% below the city EPA value even though we live in the suburbs of Boston, and rarely drive into the city. I believe it is costing me $300-400 more per year in fuel. Audi says the car is operating within specification but I know what my mileage reading are. The Audi customer service people were professional when they delivered a finding I did not agree with. Otherwise the car works as promised. Have other readers had poor gas mileage???

I continue to search for an affordable solution for my once beautiful Audi A4 under 100k miles as of today. The topcoat split open and the entire car looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Audi offers no help; no solution. The fix for me would be circa $1K. What could that possible mean to a rich organization like Audi. For me, however, because Im now retired, its not an option. If youre buying a pretty auto for the long haul, skip Audi... it peels.

Bought a 2009 Audi S8 from Vin Devers Audi In Sylvania, OH. The service department had just completed the requires 55,000 mile service. I received the vehicle and had it scan 2 days after by my local mechanic. He found the car to have low voltage to the TB and other areas, as well as the vehicle running lean. The vehicle was accompany by a 30 day 1000 mile warranty for engine, trans and some other areas. Within 2 weeks I got a check engine light and the EPC light came on and the car will not drive above 40 MPH. Took the vehicle to my local dealer and they found wiring then was repair when the vehicle had only 10,000 miles and paid for by Audi Corp. Spoke to the Sales MGR and SVR MGR and was told there is nothing they could do. I opened a case with Audi corp and was told the same thing even though they paid for the original repair. I now have to pay to repair poor workmanship by Audi trained techs for faulty work. I will never buy another Audi and hoping everyone else will boycott their product.

Yes. Hello! I purchased an Audi 5 Quattro in August. Recently, I was ready to turn my vehicle on when I was terrified by a loud banging on the glass. I screamed, thinking someone was trying to break into the car. I called Audis national line, and was told that they knew of no such incidents. I called my dealer, who said it had had a couple of like reports, but no breakage. The dealer just called back to say it would need the car through the weekend to loosen and lower the moon roof, as that was Audis international fix, and, indeed, breakage has occurred on some vehicles. I love my car, but I am very concerned, as I bought the car, specifically, to safely transport my granddaughter. Should I be assured by the fix? Will it compromise my vehicle? Where is Audis recall? I am seeking a proactive v. reactive response. Thank you!

I purchased a 2017 A3 in Sept 2017 at Audi Nanaimo. Ive only owned it just over a year, and purchased their Audi Care Pkg that includes 4 service appts. They recommend routine service at certain intervals, the last one being 60,000kms. I was overdue by 19,000 when I brought it in because of a strange sound while steering to the left, but still within the stated warrantied mileage. They deemed it a complete transmission failure after a $600 diagnosis and will not replace the transmission under warranty, because they said I was overdue for servicing...and the car only has 80,000km on it! They then proceeded to send me an $11,000 quote. What a scam.

Audi is stylish, performs like a dream and has some of the sexiest designs. If you cant at least admire an Audi by its appearance then try its performance. ;) Their upgrade and personalization options were great... plenty of options. They could expand on selections but the array provided was satisfactory. I was happy with my choices but could always use improvements. I have a 4dr A6. Its just fine... all their cars within the classes are pretty comfortable. Looked at everything and space for capacity wasnt really an issue. Just purchase towards your needs. It has been my greatest misfortune to have bought an Audi A4. Early on we recognized that we had two problems: one was the ever changing and replacing of the fuel pump and the second was the sludge problem. The first recognition of the sludge problem was on March 18, 2008. This receipt I have. It said Rich found possible oil sludge problem. We then visited Life Quality automobiles of Bay Ridge again on September of 2008 and November of 2008. On one of these dates we paid close to $6000 to fix the sludge problem. The receipt that I do have for 3/18/2008. We also have a service and change of oil at the Audi service center Life Quality. All service and oil changes have been made at Zumbach when were living in NYC. Then Life Quality and Audi of Brooklyn when we moved to Brooklyn.I dont have the receipt for September or November of 2008. I never thought that I would need it for a future claim. I went to the offices of Audi of Brooklyn in May of 2011 to try and get copies of the work but since they bought out Life Quality of Bay Ridge, they only kept the receipts for 2 years and they destroyed any receipts that would have been in my file. Their computer system shows I was in on those two months but they cannot see the details of those days.Once we did pay for the sludge problem, we were under a new 8-year warranty. In June 23, 2009, I was at Audi of Brooklyn and the sludge problem occurred again. I do have this receipt and they fixed the problem again; but since we were covered under the warranty, we did not pay this time.It has been painful monetarily to own an Audi. This sludge problem is ongoing and recurring. To ask me for copies of receipts after three years is unfair. In September of 2008 I had just moved into my new house in Brooklyn and I had just given birth to my son. It is understandable that some papers would have been misplaced.I would like to be reimbursed for my hardship with this car and the funds I paid to fix the initial sludge problem. The car right now has a sludge problem. I can’t keep fixing this problem; it is annoying. I really feel that I received a damaged engine and I would like Audi to replace it with a new or used undamaged engine. It is more costly for them to have to keep fixing an ongoing recurring problem.I am enclosing all and any of the receipts I do have. Replace my engine and reimburse for sludge costs.

We purchased a very clean, well maintained, used Audi A4 3.0 CVT with only 26,000 miles on it from a Range Rover/Audi dealer for our daughter as she went off to college in 2010. We had planned this car, being German built with Innovation through Technology to last her until she graduated and was able to get her first job. The Audi was serviced on a regular basis, then at 42,000 miles the transmission started acting up. After numerous trips to dealer and mechanics, the news was the transmission was shot and it would take $8,500 to repair/replace. The Audi at 48,000 miles is now a parked. A worthless hulk of nuts & bolts. After countless calls with Audi America, polite lip service with no results. We were extremely disappointed to find that Audi America simply does not stand behind their brand.Upon further research, discovered there was a class action suit to a poor design on the CVT Automatic Transmission, which accused Audi of concealing problems from consumers. Audi denied allegations but agreed to reimburse some customers...mmm. An indirect admission? We unfortunately discovered this settlement too late in the process as a result of no communication or proactive involvement by Audi. We have no recourse on our initial investment which equaled to 1/2 years of college tuition. Although my daughter did enjoy her 3 1/2 years driving an Audi at college, the reliability and disappointment by Audi America not supporting their Audi brand will forever taint all of us. Audi will be viewed as the inferior German car that cant be trusted.Closing note: Daughter is about to graduate college and she is considering her purchase on a new car when she starts her job. Her final will not include Audi, but a more respective brand this time around; BMW, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Lexus? We, our friends and anyone else we come across who may be interested in an Audi, will certainly hear the story of our college student deceived by Audis Truth in Engineering. No such thing!

I have leased Audis Flagship Sedan A8 in June 2013. The array of different problems ranging from complete replacement of steering system to the faulty MMI screen unit appeared shortly after. Though I was not enthused by these shortcomings, I liked the driving dynamics of the vehicle and enjoyed beautiful warm interior design. The pinnacle of this technological marvel came around 12000 miles. I have noticed a humming noise coming from the tires. I took the car to the local Audi dealership. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the service manager informed me of the following: Audi created the unique size of the tire (265/40/R20) and there are only Pirelli tires available in this size in all-season configuration. All these tires are making humming noise, even a new ones. Therefore he cannot help me. He also stated that many of his customers complain about this problem and he personally dislike Pirelli products. I was left with no choice, but to continue driving and listening to this humming symphony.By 20000 miles the noise became so loud, that it was hard to listen to the radio or talk on the phone without raising my voice. I placed a phone call to Pirelli headquarters who promptly refused to replace their product under the warranty. Taking into consideration that Ive been a loyal Audi customer for 14 years, I decided to write a letter to the executive committee of Audi of North America. I have informed them that they installed a low quality product on their Flagship Sedan and they created the size of the tire which is not available from any other tire manufacturer but Pirelli. Therefore they are equally responsible for this error in judgement. I have received a reply from so called Regional Expert shortly after. The letter was written in a monotonous standard script, which is most likely mailed to all their valued customers. The bottom line of the letter stated that I am a valued member of the Audi family, but I can take my problem somewhere else. Any other correspondence I wrote to Audi of North America in this regard and their main office in Germany was left unanswered. So, I went ahead and replaced noisy Pirelli tires with the same noisy Pirelli tires for the cost of $1300.00 and continue driving and listening to this humming noise, but to a lesser degree, while counting the days until I return this leased vehicle and forget about this nightmare.I want you all to know, if you decide to acquire one of their vehicles and you come up with a problem, which cannot be resolved on the dealership level, do not expect any help from the company no matter how many years you had been a valued member of Audi Family and no matter how much money you had previously spent on their products.

Most up to date technology used in the vehicle. Safety features are very helpful, and the rest can keep you entertained. There are many upgradeable features you can put in the vehicle. Car failed the oil consumption test in April 2016 full rebuild of engine followed. Never ran right since. Have been back 4 times with cylinder 3 misfire code. Dealer changed Coils, injectors. New spark plugs. Now Im told it is carbon build up on the intake valves, and it needs to come apart again to clean the valves. They had it apart 3 times and no mention of carbon. Carbon build up is called contamination so the extended warranty policy I purchased from them (Fidelity) does not cover this. Fuel injector cleaner, like Sea Foam will prevent this if used periodically. This is not mentioned in any Maintenance schedule. Lost all faith in the Audi mechanics I had my local mechanic de-carbon the valves with NO results 78,000 miles on the car and I am at a loss. Lemon laws dont cover it. Next step is NY AG and small claims.

I wish I could rate my service at ZERO stars. In brief, returned to my car at end of work day and battery was dead. Called AAA and quickly started it with a jump. Drive for 30 minutes and picked up my dog. Got back in car and battery dead again. Friendly stranger provided a jump. Started up quickly. Drove home and parked. Lights and radio automatically turned off as usual. Locked. Scheduled Audi roadside assistance for a.m. and appt at dealership. Car was again quickly jumped and started. Drive 30 minutes and dropped off at RVA Audi dealership. Got new battery but was told not covered by warranty because power left on. Pray tell how that is possible when radio AND lights are automatic???? And, even if this lie were true, the battery, if properly functioning, would be jump started, and would then be good to go. This is yet another attempt by Audi to evade responsibility for warranty coverage. 2nd time in the short 8 months I have had this car! So disappointed in how unethical this company has become. #lastaudiforthisgal

Audi ruined my paint job. I purchased a 2002 Audi Q3 four wheel drive. I have had my car serviced at Fort Worth Audi. I have spent several thousands of dollars on my car for service at the dealerships. On 12/14/11, I took my car to the Audi dealership for an engine light check. The issue/complaint is that my paint on the car is ruined. I took the car in; it was serviced and it came out with white splotches. The car did not look like it does when I took it in. I have pictures of the car taken in July of 2011. It shows the cars paint as being spotless. I did have an accident where the right rear fender was run into. Audi is saying that the company which worked on the fender ruined the overall paint job of the car and that they are not liable. The issue is that I took the car in for service, the car was dirty but it did not have the white splotches. Audi services the car, washes the car and it comes out with white oxidized splotches all over the car. I spoke to the manager and he says he is not responsible for the problem. I will end up getting a lawyer to work out the issue. The Audi manager says the paint is just oxidized due to age of car. However, the car could not have oxidized in the 3 days it was at the dealership. Something happened at this dealership.

They had an absolute huge selection of family friendly vehicles for me to choose from, which made it a really hard choice to pick a specific vehicle. Each of the vehicles were spectacularly invincible looking. They had a really nice glow to them and caught the eye right away - of myself, my spouse, and my child. Seeing all the upgrades made me want personalization, and there were a lot of choices to personalize a vehicle of my choice - color, seating, doors, etc. Having a young child, safety is my number one feature to look for. Since I have a one year old and a newborn on the way, seating is a huge factor in my buying a car. So having at least a five-seater is mandatory and that was available which was nice.

Repeated issues with carbon build-up which turns the engine indicator light on. Audi has cleaned the valves previously, at no charge to us acknowledging this problem and that it will likely recur. It has recurred, but now they want $1300 to remove the engine for a thorough cleaning. 2009 was the first year for the Q5 and a fair solution would be to recall this car or take care of the cost for this recurring problem. Actually gave us a pamphlet to prove it!! I took it to a different dealer who said they would have Audi look into it, brought it in and got the same response. I took the service manager out and test drove 4 other Q3s, (the loaner we got all the time did not have this issue) and 1 other had the same grinding issue. They say there is nothing they can do. One guy actually told me to go 40MPH and slam on the brakes a few times!!! LAST AUDI EVER.

Bought a certified pre-owned 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0 in December 2010 and within two weeks the oil light came on. Brought it back for service, thought it was a simple oversight and that it had been fixed. Little did we know then how that yellow check oil light would come to dominate our lives, limit our use and enjoyment of the car, and empty our wallets. Within the first three years we had the car serviced so many times for excessive oil consumption that we finally took to the internet and found we werent the only ones with this issue. After 43,000 miles and countless service visits, we demanded that Audi rectify the problem and (because the car was still under warranty), they replaced the pistons and rings at no cost.Fast forward two years to December 2015, and, at 91,000 miles (just outside of warranty, of course) an ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared on the dashboard. Brought the car in for service right away and found that the engine had a leaking intake manifold. Dealer replaced manifold at cost of $1K. One week later, check engine light went on. Brought the car back to Audi and this time, the water pump needed replacing (another $1K). A few days later, that ominous turn off engine immediately and check oil warning appeared again. Brought the car back YET AGAIN. Service department informed us that they had found metal shavings in the engine pan, indicating that engine parts were grating and the engine was compromised. They told us that we needed an entirely new engine, at a cost of almost $11,000!! We were livid. Dealer went to Audi North America and they offered to pay for half. Now we are stuck with a dead car and the prospect of having to pay another $5300 (for a total of $7300 since December) to make what is now a lemon drivable. We believe that Audi should take full ownership of this, as they replaced the pistons and rings on an engine that they knew was faulty. And, we are left wondering if the replacement of the intake manifold parts somehow compromised the engine, resulting in the engine failure (the timing of the engine failure was just a bit too coincidental). We bought this car for what we thought was exceptional Audi performance, reliability and service. Its unbelievable to see here how many others have suffered the same substandard customer service for what is clearly an inferior, shoddily manufactured car. Perhaps theres another class action suit against Audi- this time for engine failure- waiting to be brought to light. My hope is that by writing this, others will steer clear of all Audi cars, both new and used. Maybe once Audis bottom line is affected, theyll start paying more attention to quality control and the real people who drive their cars.

My Audi Q7 air conditioner has been serviced by the dealer more than 10 times since I have purchased the car. They continue to try and fix it, but its never working longer than 4 months. They stated that they dont know why it kept acting up, but they would not give me a replacement for equal value. I contacted their corporate office, and they werent able to do much either. Any help would be appreciated.

I own a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro top-of-the-line car which currently has 86k miles. Since it went out of warranty, Ive had the following major repairs: steering rack (2k), timing belt/steering pump (2k), another steering pump (800), miscellaneous items (1k). I have a stereo speaker broken and a cup holder thats broken that Im not repairing. The slogan truth in engineering is an absolute lie. They dont use any quality parts in these cars. Ive written letters to Audi of North America and they could care less.

I have a 3 three-year-old Audi a4 with 50k kilometers. Brought car back to garage at 35k for rear suspension noise and was told problem was solved. Car was purchased new. Noise came back into rear suspension and when I brought car back it was out of warranty. I was then told I would have to pay 130 euro per hour for car to be looked at and they didnt know how many hours it would take. I was scared off after being told there was a car in for a noise and already they had clocked up 38 hours and the problem was still not solved. I will never buy one of these cars again. I have had BMW and Merc and Opal and these cars are just not up there with these other brands. My experience was I paid quality price but did not get the quality car.

I leased an A3 clean diesel from Audi Coral Springs in April of 2013 with the intention to buy if the car performed as well as the salesperson assured me it would. I was looking for a high performing car with significantly reduced emissions. I considered the Audi diesel, hybrids and electric cars. I chose a model that would no longer be available in the US (A3 clean diesel hatchback). There were only a handful available in the country and one of them was at Audi Coral Springs. Because I was set on this car and there were so few, I had no bargaining power and paid an enormous premium for the car. The leasing process itself was torture. The dealership had one printer and it wasnt working so the entire transaction took more than 4 hours. When the diesel emission fraud became public, I contacted the dealership and Audi USA. I was told over and over that the emission fraud was no big deal and that Audi owed me nothing. Basically I was told that Audi is handling this and that no one in the company could deal with my complaint. Audi has decided kill its brand and ensure that its customers go elsewhere. As for Audi Coral Springs... the personnel at the dealership were down right rude. I returned the car at the end of the lease only to be told that I had to sign a document that if anything happened to the car while in the hands of the dealer (the only place I could return it), I would be legally responsible for the damage. The document stated that I was required to maintain auto insurance on the vehicle until it was in the hands of the manufacturer which would take weeks to months. Ripped off a third time by Audi Coral Springs. I asked how I would know when to release the insurance and I was told not to worry about it. Needless to say, given Audis horrible, horrible customer service and casual attitude about defrauding the public, I will never drive an Audi again. I now have a Lexus hybrid and the experiences could not have been more different. One star for this dealership is really one too many.

Audi has a wide range of luxurious and sporty models in multiple body styles. The designs are German Teutonic style with avant-garde interiors. The interiors are luxuriously European with high quality materials and finishes. The vehicles have the iconic waterfall grill and rings in the front and come in a variety of models and have distinct option packages, a variety of colors and personalization options that allows for unique looks. The vehicles are roomy enough for their intended purpose, but not so large as to seem huge. The design is very European where the driver is the most focused.

Originally I had purchased my vehicle at Biener Audi. I purchased an S3 2017 Model. Brand New this vehicle came with approx. 70 miles on it. I found out that they transported it from Audi of Smithtown. I, then proceeded to take it to this location. One of my issues was the hood & the windshield. The hood is cracked (from a pebble most likely states a professional who I had examine it; they touched it up & didnt allow it to dry long enough so it came off.) Audi of Smithtown has no reglect of this happening. Another issue is inside of my vehicle, the main console buttons are sticky-like. After going back and forth with Audi of Smithtown, they agreed to take it off and look if its warranty or not. They will take it off as a courtesy. They state sticky substance is inside. They wont do anything for me. They ordered the part for me but are claiming I have to come out of MY pocket for $970 because they dont deem this as a warranty issue. Are you kidding me? This vehicle came in such horrible condition! My first Audi. To be exact my issues consisted of: Scratched up interior panels. Damaged hood/windshield from transportation. Abnormal creased seats from getting in and out from test drives. My fiancé & I clearly knew that this vehicle had been sitting on a lot for a LONG time. It was so dirty after they finished detailing it. Back bumper deep scratches. Console buttons sticking, rough. Scratched up alternator (cosmetic). Front bumper full of dings (black spots). Dings on headlights/scratched up.Im VERY unhappy and UNSATISFIED with BOTH Audi of Smithtown and Biener Audi. This was the WORST experience Ive ever had. Ive opened up a case with Audi of America (corporate) and theyve stated case has been escalated as high as possible. They wont do anything for me its up to the dealership to make it right. Please save yourself a headache. Dishonest dealerships terrible customer satisfaction. Bieners part: Some people involved were: Patrick ** (sales person). Service Manager (Stephen **). Some of the stories on here are similar to my own... really bad Audi custom
Some of the stories on here are similar to my own... really bad Audi customer service (after sales, of course). Ive been a customer of Audi for 5 yrs and I have to admit I do change them quite often (6 in the 5 yrs). I cash purchase. (I now know its a big no-no to buy cash!... but Id never had a problem before.)Heres just a little of whats been going on with my Audi A4...November 2012...We traveled to Audi in Carlisle and purchased an Audi A4 (61 plate ex demo) for $18,990.18th December, 2012... We had an egg smell coming from the vehicle, we called a local Audi and we were told that the car is new and the smell will disperse as the car is new and the parts sometimes burn off excess oil?23rd December, 2012... During a family day out with the children, we traveled down the A1 to see family and do some last minute Christmas shopping. The smell and heat coming from the vehicle was very apparent, but after a call to Audi, we were told to ignore it, so we did. On the return journey, the car started billowing black smoke, and the heat and smell were strong enough for us to have to pull over and require assistance from RAC/Audi Assistance... We were told that the car had a clutch failure and it had to go into Audi Teesside for repairs.**I required a courtesy car during this period and Audi Assist, who knew I had 3 children, issued me with a 2-seater Audi TT!? This scuppered nearly all of our family Christmas plans, but as my gran was over from Germany and I knew this may be the last Christmas I have with her, I was determined to get to were she was from Teesside. This was a mammoth task with a family of 5 and a 2-seater car. Two of the children nor myself got to see gran before she left, unfortunately (she passed 2 weeks later).**9th January, 2013... I received a call from Gemma ** in Audi customer services to say that my car was being delivered back to me today as it has been fixed. It had apparently needed a new clutch, which had now been done, and we were able to take it back. She had just been informed from the dealers (Teesside Audi) that the work was complete.9th January, 2013... My car was delivered back at lunchtime with an invoice stating that my car had been fitted with a new clutch, and oil had been topped up (under warranty work). So I decided to drive to my local Tesco with my little daughter. Within half a mile, I noticed the smell initially, and the heat followed. I spotted some light smoke coming from the bonnet so I pulled over. I decided to call Teesside and spoke to Mark, who had apparently carried out the work, and I told him what was happening to my car. He said the car is going through what is called a regeneration and I was to ignore it and keep driving. I also rung Gemma and she said he knows what hes talking about, and with a new part, sometimes they give off a smell and I was to do what he said...I drove another mile up the road when my car once again was smoking and other road users and bystanders where signalling for me to pull over... Completely frightened and not knowing what to do, I quickly pulled over, and as I left my vehicle, a fellow driver approached and said that looks dangerous and I was to stand back with the little one... I did so, and he and another man cautiously opened my bonnet. With that, a ball of black smoke and fire shot from the front of my car... I called RAC/Audi Assist who came to me at the roadside. It took him 90 minutes to arrive at the vehicle and he stated that he could smell my car more than 100 yards away. He wouldnt move it whilst the car was still so hot, so he left it to be later recovered by Ron Perry (a tow company)... I called Gemma to let her know and she told me it turned out that Mark in Teesside had not even repaired the car, and she felt awful that shed allowed me to take this vehicle back when they hadnt done anything to it by way of repair... Marks excuse was that he thought I was imagining it!? But he had provided us with an invoice to say these works had been carried out? Gemma said she wasnt happy with what had happened and she felt somewhat responsible, so she advised that I put a formal complaint in writing to the branch about this technician and she was doing the same on her end as she felt partly responsible, and that she was referring my case to the executive office. My car was taken to the Audi Tyneside garage where they discovered that the clutch was completely burnt out and desperately needed replacing. Richard from Tyneside said that if the car had been driven any further, it could of been much worse. (I have to add that Richard and Mark in Tyneside gave me a fantastic level of care and commitment I felt looked after whilst in there capable hands...)2nd February, 2013... I receive a call to say my car is repaired and it can be brought back to me. 8th February, 2013... The car breaks down, clutch slipped. 14th Feb, 2013... I get my car back, but during a road test, it fails and the clutch fails again.21st Feb, 2013... The clutch was replaced again, and once again, I am given my car back. We were away 25th Feb to 11th March, and upon returning, the car wouldnt start. Once again, the car is towed, and were told that the 2nd base plate on the clutch has corroded and it needs another new part (a base plate?) 26th March, 2013... We get our car back, and for the first week or so, it seems to be driving o.k.4th April, 2013... The car has started pulling to the left and the egg smell and smoke has returned, we call RAC and have it towed to a different garage (Harrogate). Maybe some fresh eyes will help and finally give us a car we can use. We receive a call to say that the vehicle may be pulling due to the tyres, so by replacing them, this may help the problem. We paid 500+VAT to have the tyres replaced, only to be told two days later that during further investigation its been found that the clutch has slipped again. We were also told that the new model of Audi has a larger gap for the clutch, but as Audis are using an older model of clutch, the clutch is able to move around and this is why it keeps slipping. A new part is ordered again to replace the small one.22nd April... My car is brought back. Im informed that they couldnt fit the new part as it didnt work. All they could do is tighten the clutch and hope for the best, but during towing it back to me, my car was damaged during transportation. The low load driver couldnt apologise enough for the damage, and after letting me see what had happened, he took it back away again to have the damage repaired... I was utterly devastated and slowly losing faith and patience.29th April 2013... The car is brought back with no damage and the drive of it seems ok.6th May... The car stalls and the smell is back. The car goes in to Harrogate which is were it is now... Ive told them Im fed up now. I spent nearly twenty thousand pounds (which I paid for in cash) for a car which is wholly unreliable. And as Ive been told on at least 5 occasions it is Not fit for purpose, I called Audi and asked what my next step is as I believe Ive given Audi more than ample opportunity to repair my vehicle, which still hasnt happened. I have done everything Audi has asked of me and some and now I cant take anymore. I cant continue to put my children into something that I dont trust and is so unreliable. On the 9th of May, I wrote a letter of rejection for the vehicle to Audi UK and a copy went to the garage I purchased it from. I dont feel Im getting any further forward so Trading Standards Tanvir has requested that he take over this whole case. Hes advising I go to the press and sue for negligence, but this is not really my thing. I just want what I paid for - a prestige car from a prestige company, and as a loyal Audi customer for over 5 years, I dont want to go down this route.Last month, I contacted Martin Winterkorns P.A., who gave me Verena ** (VWG M.D- P.A) contact details name and number, and she said they will be able to help, which wasnt the case. They are now basically saying that if I remove my complaint against the technician, they will help; otherwise, pay for further work myself... The whole thing got passed over to Lee **, an Audi exec, and he is a complete plank who doesnt care about customers... service... duty of care, so Ive sent everything over to Motor Codes and theyre investigating.Sorry, its so long-winded, but I wanted to get all the details in. Does anyone know if theres anything else I can do? Thanks, guys.

I found the Audi Q5 to be a very attractive car compared to other models that I had reviewed. It has a lot of features that I wanted in a car and the price was within my budget. I chose the Audi because of safety ratings that it has, it rides great and it had most of the features that I wanted. The car has GPS, which comes in handy often. It has WiFi and drives smoothly to be an SUV. The SUV has lots of power and acceleration is great. I enjoy the fact that it has Bluetooth and Sirius Radio as well as heated and vented seats. However, it does not have a convenient USB port and the GPS system took some time to program. I would change the location of the cup holders. I find it awkward to drive and use my cup holder because of where its located. I also wish I had steering wheel heater and that it had the in dash readout. But overall the Audi Q5 is a great car.

I purchased a 2020 A5 sport back new from the dealer. The Audi connect services are wanting and do not work. Ive been told Audi is transitioning its service but still it has been a frustrating 3 weeks and counting to not only solve the issue but find whom to talk to and receive the support I need to resolve the issue. My advice for anyone buying a new model is to get all tech matters set up before leaving the dealer and have them agree the car will be delivered working. It is extremely difficult to get support after the purchase. It is very disappointing considering the cost of the car which lacks many features that can be found in non luxury brands.

Very long story but in summary, 2012 Audi Q5 has faulty timing chain tensioner (known issue) which causes catastrophic engine failure costing over $10,000.00 to fix. Audi dealership has been great trying to help but are obviously hindered by Audi America in assisting. Audi consumer affairs department literally chuckled when my wife was explaining the situation and said things could always be worse and would should be thankful that they are helping at all. When we requested that the case be escalated, we were told we were at the highest level already and nothing else could be done. A real shame, we have two VW/Audi cars currently and have had many in our families over the years. If this is the end all be all decision in this matter... These will certainly be the last 2 VW products we will ever own. Very disappointing... The Q5 has been my wifes favorite car and my GTI has been my favorite... After bringing my 2012 Audi S5 with 30,000 miles to Audi NYC several times, and without them being able to resolve my issues - I contacted Audi corporate offices hoping they can assist in resolving my issues with extremely squeaky brakes. After explaining several times to Audi corporate employees and this supervisor, my issues were brushed off and I was presented with their proposed resolution which was to lubricate my brake pads, a procedure that had already been performed on my vehicle previously without resolving the issues. We recently purchased an Audi Q3. The car has been with us for 5 months and has a 5000+ plus on it. Suddenly, the front wheel developed bubbles. Now all wheels have alignment problem. They informed us that bubbles are due to potholes. As far as my recollection goes, there has not been any major potholes that we encountered. I am extremely unhappy with the way the car has deteriorated in standard over the past few months. I believe I am talking about premium luxury car whose features had been put to vast testing and certified of performance that has enabled them over the years to set such high price value. But if a tire alignment could change and develop bubble if the car goes through a pothole, I am seriously wondering the kind of test they have done to certify it. How could I trust this car when I travel in snow? I am extremely disappointed with the car. I had once liked Audi so much that we did not look at any other brands hoping it would be truth in engineering as promised. But now I regret my decision.

I have a new 2019 Audi Q5, Prestige trim level, that comes with Active Lane Assist that will steer the car to the center of the road if you accidentally go over the line. There is an accompanying control that issues a loud DING and dash warning if the car thinks you are driving without hands on the wheel. The problem is that on straight roads, with hands on the wheel, I get frequent false alerts. Audi has implemented this by detecting if no input is sensed on the wheel for 15 seconds, it assumes no hands on the wheel and issues the alert. Driving me crazy! Dont buy this trim level. Waste of money and Audi just says the car is working to specifications, though other of their cars do not do this.

The garage was supposed to call me back tonight just after 6:00 but guess what, the lad who answered didnt seem capable of taking my phone number down after twice telling him what it was. What is the point of paying premium prices for a so called premium car when all you get is back street garage services? Cant see my family buying from these again. (Five cars in all.) Previous owner of a 2012 Q7 (and other Audis), loved it, not a minutes trouble, never an issue. Anxiously awaited new Q7, saw one at dealer, made a deal and said I would be back the next day to close the deal, I would be in a rush as I had to pick my kids up, make sure everything is ready to go (paperwork printed etc). My Admin Assistant tells them the same thing, make sure paperwork is ready. I buy a vehicle for business 3-4 times a year, I typically am out of the dealership before they can even fuel the vehicle up when they print everything in advance. It didnt happen, ended up being better than 3 hours so I missed picking up my kids, had to get other arrangements to pick them up while I am in dealership. I should have walked out. My fault, but I will never go back there again or buy another Audi. I finally get the car, 12 miles on it, no sooner than I leave dealer lot, warning light goes off. Early the next morning, another warning light, low tire pressure, tire goes flat with 55 miles on it. Nothing visibly wrong, put air in it. Next morning, same thing, flat tire, I tighten valve stem, problem solved. I work on second row seats to kill that warning light, put seats in every conceivable position, wont go out... I email dealer and call and leave a message tell them I am not happy, give me my old car back... No response, but believe me, they knew I was mad so they know who I am.Next day I drop my kids off at school, car wont come out of park in drop off line. Lots of angry parents behind me!!! Restart car several times, finally it will shift... and seat warning light goes out too, bonus!! Little while later the low windshield washer fluid light comes on... Open hood, its full... Then the low tire warning on again, I call dealer and say I am on the way to an appointment, can I swing by and you look at it. Sorry, you dont have an appointment and it will be a minimum of an hour before anyone can look and then dont know how long it will take and we dont have a loaner. The lady knows my name from my earlier complaints so you think they might make an effort to get me in quickly???Then the windshield wipers default to service position and will not operate nor will they reset to normal when you unclick the service position switch... I get out and push them down, they wont work, dead... I get home and call dealer again, left message for GM too, email them again. Then I call Audi care... What a joke! I am in business and understand good customer service, but as I voice my frustration, the lady says you need to take the car into dealer, to which I say I have tried but they have not been able to see me yet, I will take it there and leave it there! She says no, you cant do that, you have to work to the dealers schedule, make an appointment first. I reply back, what about customer service??? I say with previous Mercedes the dealer would come pick the car up and leave me a loaner for the day, that is customer service! She said I am just trying to lower your expectations so you wont be disappointed. Really??? The call went downhill from there, but I will never buy another AUDI ever again and this was a car I was anxiously anticipating getting. The entire Audi experience from the sale to the service to the car sucks...

Audi demands respect, commands the road, close second to none. I personally drove a 2004 special edition TT and I can honestly say by far, this little speed demon is the most fun, exciting, smooth, reactive and never disappoints. Custom leather seats crafted to meet the high standards Audi always adheres to and often exceeds are a favorite for me. This vehicle is eye-catching with very unique and sexy lines. The interior is just as impressive, modern, sophisticated, clean and perfectly positioned to maintain maximum control of this power packed superior machine. It feels as though you’re in the cockpit of your very own rocket ship at a creamy soft leather seat. Youll turn more than a few heads as you glide effortlessly with speed, precision and power, hugging the road like you really mean it. Vehicle (2016 A6 Quattro) has shut off while driving. Vehicle has shut off while at a stop light; would not immediately restart. Fiddled with the gears, put in park. Got vehicle to start after about 30-60 seconds. 30-60 seconds is a significant amount of time at a stop light that has just turned green. This has happened 3 times. Enter vehicle; start; put in reverse or drive to exit my driveway; car has shut off while attempting to exit driveway, 4 times; warning/Prompting me to put it in park. Brakes or rotors make a scratching noise; notice if driving close to a wall or median (to reflect the sound) when windows are down. Have had brakes checked by dealer multiple times and have been told they were fine. However, they make a constant noise. My parking sensor has been stuck in a position that makes vehicle think the passenger side front bumper is in contact with something. Will usually go back to normal by the next day. This has happened twice. Also has 2 recalls. 1 has not been completed. The other, the airbag recall, has been unable to be repaired. Dealer states they have not been sent the parts. This has been ongoing for months now.

They have a lot of model for every people and what they needs. Im so glad with the service and personnel. The car is so beautiful, and cheap for what its come. It has great balance between cost and accurate. For the new are good, and the color is very wow. The black one is very good. We used the cars for my children, my wife and me, but we are very comfortable. Its a great space for everyone. Id recommend Audi for all my friends.

Our family purchased a 2011 Audi A5 with 2.0 T engine. The Timing Chain (Tensioner) failed at 70,000 m. The engine head and pistons (predictably) are wrecked. The car was maintained according to the Audi schedule with the Dealer from whom we purchased the car. All the records are verified by the dealer. The standard warranty is 50,000 m. This engine/car has the Oil Consumption problem that precipitated the Class Action Suit. So, the car was used as designed, maintained as designed, - and it FAILED as designed! The failure is due to lack of lubrication of the Timing tensioner/chain. Something absolutely beyond the consumers control (beyond filling the engine as specified).4/5/15: The car is at the Dealership in Austin Texas - the Dealership says they have talked to Audi and both are trying to escape the manufacturers responsibility to fix the problem. It seems that the only (implied warranty) service to the customer that Audi will deliver is when threatened by a lawsuit (class action suit as prev). In summary: The engine was maintained as required; the car was used as designed; the consumer fulfilled all their responsibilities; the engine (built by a prior-respected engineering company) failed - beyond all control of the consumer within a small portion of the design life of the engine. How is it not Audis responsibility? Get decent Audi! Before another Class action suit gets kicked off.

I love the variety and theres so much more variety than other makes. It is so enjoyable and I have owned two different ones. It is a very attractive and sexy vehicle. People ask me all the time Where did you find such a beautiful car. Or they say your car is so beautiful. The upgrade is even more beautiful and the only reason why I havent upgraded is because I am so attached to the one I have now. But as far as upgrades, I have so many to choose from and each one is lovely. The car is also very spacious. Myself, my husband, and my three children all fit and we have taken it on family vacation and everyone is comfortable throughout the entire ride.

I have a 2015 Audi A5, with 26400 miles on it. I purchased the car with 11,000 miles on it in April. I began experiencing a LOUD brake squeaking 2 weeks ago. It squeaks when I lightly apply the brakes. The service department at Audi told me that the brake pads only had 10% wear so its Not the Pads. They then told me that I would need to drive about 60 mph or FASTER, then apply the brakes... I am NOT going to try this dangerous and potentially deadly act.I think that there is a design issue that must be addressed. I have owned probably 12 cars in my life and NEVER has this happened with no answer. The lemon law in Illinois is quite clear and I actually received a new car because of this law. I am sure there are other owners that has the same issues... We must start writing to Audi and people who can help... This must get resolved. Im ready to drive the car to the dealer and leave it there until its resolved. I know that this is a non warranty issue but there is an obvious defect.

If a car has scratches, looks old, it doesnt qualify for the look you want dont buy it. Please use your money wise. The car isnt going to last for long. The passenger capacity is good and there hasnt been any complaints in riding smoothly. We just having fun and I love it so much. Upgrade is need. Once I didnt updated my car it was in bad shape. But when you upgrade youre like very happy and proud of yourself.

Ive been purchasing Audi vehicles for the last fifteen years; primarily A6 Supercharged vehicles. Last March, I traded-in my 2016 A6 Prestige Supercharged for the 2021 A6 Prestige 55. From day one there have been issues. There has been nonstop rattling from the dash. The trunk opens without touching the button on the remote or truck latch door. Other times, when pressing the button on the trunk handle, the trunk wont open at all. I would have to take the key fob out of my pocket and press the button in order for the trunk door to open. That defeats the purpose of having the trunk door button on the trunk. This is another flaw of all 2019 and newer models. Numerous times when closing the trunk, we walk away and the trunk opens again without us touching anything!Same with the doors. Numerous times, we are unable to open the doors by placing our hand behind the door handle when the key fob is in our pocket. We have to take the key fob out of our pocket for the door handle to work. The dash rattle has been addressed numerous times, but never fixed. Its a horrible design flaw. No matter what the dealership attempts, it wont fix the poor design flaw. The bottom screen went out three times since purchasing the vehicle. The first time within two weeks of the purchase. Stay away from Audi vehicles from 2019 to current. Too many design flaws.

We bought a 2015 A6 7 months ago. This car rides like a dream, has power and comfort. But, you would think as much as you spend on these cars the service would be a lot better. We had our oil changed at Cavender Audi in San Antonio and they would not even reset the oil service alert (you are unable to do it yourself in MMI). Then when your complimentary data service runs out after 6 month you have to pay $800 for 30 months. Toyotas Entune is free, Fords, SYNC is free and I am sure there are a lot more companies that provide complimentary service like this. Chevy allows you to use your current phone data plan which costs $10 month. So bottom line the car is outstanding but as much as Audis cost they could at least give you complimentary data or at least let you use your phone company.

I am so disappointed and disgusted with my 2009 Audi A5 that I cannot even express how bad my Audi experience is so far. I should have stayed with my Mercedes Benz. I took my car to the Audi dealership to get my window fixed and they actually caused 3 more things to break on the car and now I have to pay for it when the car is under warranty?? They put a faulty motor for my window which caused a short and now my xenon headlight is not working and they want me to pay for the headlight which they caused to break. Horrible experience with Audi service. Dealerships have incompetent and badly trained mechanics and customers need to pay for that. I will make sure I will disclose on every page I can to warn customers not to buy an Audi.

I bought a A4 Quattro, manual transmission, new in January of 2012 from Hiley Audi in Huntsville, Alabama. The vehicle has had the water pump and one injector replaced under warranty and the PCV valve, various modules and gaskets O rings and other items replaced at my expense as well as the shocks that were leaking more oil than the EXXON Valdez. All of this occurred after the car was barely out of warranty. The service department has actually been quite good at diagnosing the problems associated with the vehicle however the expense of having those issues rectified is prohibitive. Now with a little over 100k miles on the car, its burning a quart of oil every 600 miles. No one at Audi notified me about the class action suit on these engines for excessive oil consumption however they did notify me of the extended warranty on the cam chain tensioner which after requesting the replacement they refused to repair even while the car was still under warranty! In short, Im stuck with $6K repair bill for replacing this dog of an engine. The people that work at Audi can only be as good as the management team and in short, the management team at Hiley as well as Audi of America are terrible. On a side note, I have an ACURA RSX that I bought new in 2003 with 200k miles on the odometer that doesnt use a drop of oil and a 1997 BMW 318is with a 168K on the clock that doesnt use any oil either. Basically Audi sells cars that are throwaways after 100,000 miles. In short, if you expect Hiley or Audi of America to stand behind their products, you will be sorely disappointed.

Purchased a brand new 2013 Audi Q7 last April. Waited close to a month for the vehicle. Problems started since day one. The same day, the vehicle was picked up. Within 15 minute driving, the check engine light came on. Brought it back to the dealer and diagnosed to be a bad intake manifold. The vehicle was in the shop for a week. A month down the line, one day the sunshade for the panoramic roof fell off the rail completely. Brought the vehicle back to the dealer and get it fix. In June of this year, the Sunshade fell off the rail again, brought it back to the dealer, waited a week for the repair. Literately a week after the vehicle was picked up, the rail came back again, the car was in the dealer for another week. Now the problem come back again. The car is a little over 1 year old, barely driven with only 6000 miles. Went to the dealer to complaint about the issue and see how they and AUDI will address the issue. The response I got was: this does not affect the drivability or the safety operation of the vehicle. I could always bring it back to the dealer and get it fix. I am extremely disappointed in the brand and its customer service focus philosophy. Especially as a luxury car dealer and manufacture, this is definitely not the way to address the issue. 60K investment and what I get in return is constantly going back to the dealer for the same issue. Even with me addressing the issue, their response is tell me to keep going back. I dont have the time for all this, definitely not a good ownership experience. I am very disappoint in the brand and the experience. Stay away from AUDI!!!

We all know the Takata airbag recall is huge. But some manufacturers are getting it right, and some are not. AUDI IS NOT. They have limited cars affected by the recall compared to other manufacturers, but my car (2012 Q5) is affected. I called Audi several times and they are not offering any option to pay for a rental car or loaner call. I called the dealer too, but they wont do anything unless Audi pays. Audi told me to call the dealer and then the dealer told me to call Audi. I was just bounced around and around with no answers. My husband owns an Acura and the local dealer paid for his rental car for 2 months while he waited for the replacement part (which came this week). Audi is doing nothing, which I find unacceptable. They want the consumer to be stuck with the risk, which I also find unacceptable. All Audi car owners in this situation should put pressure on Audi to take the approach Acura/Honda is taking (and maybe other manufacturers, I am not sure who else). Based on the experience Ive had, I would never buy another Audi.

I first purchased this vehicle in December 2016. After having the vehicle for a couple of days we noticed that the car jolts forward on the initial start daily. This is a rather aggressive jolt and is not unnoticeable. We contacted the dealership immediately and they stated that it was likely because it was cold outside. Of course come spring the issue remains and we take the vehicle in for service. The dealership claimed to have re-calibrated the transmission and sent the car home. There was no change and the issue remained. Long story short they eventually replaced the transmission and yet the problem remains. The dealership is stumped and claim that they have switched the parts with another Q5 and it also has the issue so the problem is now common to most Q5s so there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and I should come pick it up. Unsatisfied with this response I met with the sales guy who originally sold the vehicle. There is now depreciation on the vehicle and I would be at a loss of $12,000 if I opted to trade the car in. I contacted Audi Canada who investigated the complaint and are now siding with the dealership that this is common with Q5s. There is nothing to be done!! I could of course contact another dealership to see if they had other suggestions... huh?? This is of course after Audi Canada has spent almost $20,000 to repair the problem. One would think that they would have all known it was a common problem before spending all this time and money. Be forewarned anyone looking to purchase a Q5 - this is a common issue that cant be rectified so if you dont enjoy a sudden jolt each day you start your car you might want to stay clear of this purchase.

I would never recommend this car made Audi to anyone. The sales representative, Alex **, provided us with the worst customer service ever. Car was purchased in Toronto in mid Oct, 2018, driven to Naples, Florida in early November and parked in a condo garage 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico with the passenger side exposed to winds from the Gulf. In mid January a braking issue was noticed when braking at highway speeds. Audi service determined that the issue was caused by rust on the passenger side brake rotors and advised that because this was a result of outside influences the repair cost would not be covered by the warranty. Does this seem reasonable when other equivalent cars parked in the same condo location over 8 years had not encountered the same problem?

Five hours at the dealership to get the paperwork completed, 15 minutes of negotiations, and we were the only customers buying. The car (2016 Audi A4 quatro) is finished nicely, drives well at turnpike speeds, but in town it is AWFUL! Acceleration when needed is absolutely unreliable. Sometimes accelerates as needed, other times the engine does not increase above idle speed when power is really needed. The dealer had the car for a couple of days and could not duplicate my complaint. They then stated if this problem occurred it was my driving technique (my wife has the same problem of non-acceleration randomly). I tired of arguing with the dealer, and just accepted the fact we are stuck with this car for another 19 months when the lease expires. We are reluctant to drive the car, and after 17 months it has accumulated less than 9,000 miles. We had two Mercedes prior to this piece of garbage, had never leased a car before, and never owned an Audi. We will go back to Benz, will never lease again, and never again have dealings with Audi.

I am Disha and I bought an Audi Q7 for Rs. 94 lakhs from Bengaluru, two years and four months back. The reason was its speed as I had to travel to different cities and it was a business requirement too. I bought two more Audis for my business officials and purpose. But my experience with Audi is very bad. The first Audi car of mine is Q7 and it is a little over two years old. I have spent Rs. 45 lakhs on my Q7 already for it to run efficiently. Currently, I gave the Audi for service purposes a month ago and I have still not got it back in spite of me paying the full amount. The excuse is that they are not able to get the automobile parts and its still to reach India from overseas. I now curse myself for my fleet of Audi. I have a Q3 and an A4 too which are also the same and I had spent huge amount of money on them just to keep them running. Along with the performance of the car, high maintenance cost and bad after sales and dealership services I still thought of keeping my cars but I am not able to get my car back after giving it for servicing. So I regret my decision of buying the Audi cars and would not recommend anyone to buy such cars or any of Audi cars at all. My purchase day was overshadowed by joy of buying a car, failing to see that Audi was not about the purchaser nor providing all 10s service. What has really maddened me today is I get a call I am thinking is a survey of my recent servicing, only to get hung up on, unable to express my concerns due to lack of professional communication. I thought I was saying yes to the rep saying all my information correctly. But after being hung up on, it left me wondering what was the call about. Not even a goodbye, thank you. Audi wants buyers to think they are for satisfaction but they only do things that is necessary just to say they have done it because they dont care if they have met the goal or provided customer satisfaction. I have been battling with them ever since my purchase but my concerns are not what they care to hear. I had to have a second delivery in which even direct, specified, unsatisfactory issues were not even addressed that I had pointed out in a written response. I wish I would have took my business elsewhere. Sometimes I wonder the true value of the whole deal.I wish there was another rep I could make a formal complaint to but I am going to keep long for that. It almost seems as if a $60,000 price means nothing to the dealer about committing to satisfaction. I have had a repair done and the console piece pop right off the next day, which clearly was not attached properly, only to have the same issue serviced again in less than 2 months. I see why people buy BMW and Mercedes. The service is better, the agreement is firm, and you are not judged. They make it known to please give us all 10s on the survey at Greensboro Audi but they are less than 6. I like my car but the way I feel about how they treat me, sometimes I just want to sell it back just to rid myself of the association with Audi.

My Audi experience has been a nightmare. My wife and I bought a 2011 Q5 on April 4, 2011. When the car had 28000 miles on it, the low oil light came on. We were told it was from a defective hood latch, which the dealer replaced. The light came on again in several thousand miles and we were told this time it was a pressure regulating valve, which was replaced. The light came on a third time and we were told an oil consumption test needed to be initiated. I know its hard to believe, but the oil light came on a 4th time. Day Audi of Monroeville advised me that VW/Audi had a known defect with their 2.0 turbo engines and I would need the pistons and rings replaced in the vehicle. First they needed to send the oil consumption results to the Audi Corporation and get the work approved. Audi advised the dealer that my Audi, which only has 40,000 miles on it, was consuming a normal amount of oil, and no further repairs were needed. The dealer advised the oil light would continue top come on, just bring it in and get it topped off when it does. They also offered to buy my vehicle back at a lowball auction price. Audi is a joke of a corporation that could care less about their customers. I would never recommend a Volkswagen or Audi to anyone as a result of being treated in this manner.

I had a extended warranty which Audi refused to honor. It is very disturbing that a company that is so proud of their 4-wheel drive would have such premature problems with their wheel bearings. Bought a used (but looked like-new) 2004 Audi A4 1.8T. It had 82k miles on it from the previous owner of 10 years. No accidents, what could go wrong? Seemed like a diamond in the rough. Carfax said it never had major repairs done to it whatsoever. Seriously good deal right? Wrong. The dealers had left the car light on and blamed the last owner for making it a problem and having to change the battery. Dealers said theyd replace the battery before they sold it to me. Okay. Bought it, picked it up, went home. It sat there. Few days later? Dead car. Called the dealers, had them tow the car, sat in their off-the-map shop for 4 days with no communication because the mechanic was too busy and sounded annoyed the one time I tried to get in touch. It finally came home to me, only to find a scratched side mirror that wasnt there before (I have picture proof) and a check engine light. Next few days - dead again. Battery was fine, its something electrical. This is a good a time as any to mention that the car is completely automatic and locks everything. Can hardly get into the drivers side, all other doors are locked, trunk is locked, no real locks inside or key hole for truck, nope. All automatic. Huge hassle. Im getting a refund. Its more money than its worth. NEVER AGAIN.

I purchased this A4 Audi in 2012. At the time, it still had the manufacturer warranty and still does. I had several issues with the car due to Audi design of the steering and ball joints. Currently, I was having trouble with fuel door on the car opening. So I brought it in to ask them to fix it. I was told by Robin that the problem is with the comfort module due to water damage! THEY said they assumed it was water damage and it is not covered by manufacturer warranty! She tried to show me water damage; I did not see any. She said that she might have given me too much information but they cannot complete the FIX because they will not connect the comfort module because the problem IS NOT FIXED unless I pay $812. So I had to leave with the problem at hand!!!

On March 17, 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Audi A7 from Fletcher Jones Audi
On March 17, 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Audi A7 from Fletcher Jones Audi in Chicago, Illinois. I live in Saint Louis Missouri. I had not seen the actual vehicle that I was purchasing because the dealership was going to ship the vehicle to me. While I was waiting on them to bring the vehicle from the garage, we completed all of the paperwork. When I finally saw the car, my husband, myself and two other people that were with us noticed all of the white spots/blotches all over the car. The car is black. The salesman assured me that by the time they shipped the car to me, they would have all of these paint issues corrected/removed. The sales contacted me on March 22 to inform me that the car was being delivered on Saturday, March 24. I asked him if all of the white spots had been removed from the car and he stated yes, that the car is in perfect condition. The truck driver delivered the vehicle to me on the morning of March 24th. Once the car was removed from the bed, both my husband and I immediately noticed that the same white spots where still all over the vehicle. We informed the driver and contacted the salesman on the spot while the truck driver was still there. The salesman, as well as his boss and the manager of the dealership all assured us that the issue would be handled and corrected and not to worry, that they would do whatever it took to get the paint problem corrected. The salesman stated that he looked the car completely over before putting it on the bed of the truck and that there were absolutely no spots on the vehicle. He said the transporter must have done something to the vehicle because it was in perfect condition when it left their dealership. For the next two weeks, my husband and I spent time calling and emailing the dealership to find out what they wanted us to do and how they were going to fix the problem. Finally, they instructed us to take the vehicle to a local Audi dealership here in Saint Louis. We made an appointment and took the vehicle to Plaza Audi. They looked at the vehicle and tried to do some minor corrections and that did not work, so they told us to bring it back another day so that they could keep it and do a completed detail and buff and try to buff the spots out. They kept my car for three days and when I picked it up, they informed me that they were not able to correct the issue and that we they would recommend we take the car to their auto body/collision center to see what they recommend. We made an appointment and took the car to Plaza Collision Center. They then completed an estimate of what the car would need to have done in order to get rid of the spots. They said that the spots were in the paint so the hood would need to be re-painted and the other areas of the car they could buff the spots out. They gave us everything in writing and told us to get with Fletcher Jones to see how they wanted to proceed. For the next month, we tried to contact Fletcher Jones and the service center guy at Plaza Audi told us that he had been trying to contact Fletcher Jones to see how they wanted to proceed. In the meantime, I went ahead and made Audi America (the parent company/owner of Audi) aware of the issue and got them involved. After Christine at Audi America made several phone calls to both dealerships and collision center, she instructed me to contact the collision center to set up a date for repair. When I contacted Ben at the collision center, he informed me that he was waiting to see how Fletcher Jones wanted to handle the payment of the repair. I waited about a week and still did not have a date for repair. Christine then contacted me back and told me that everything had been squared away and that I should take my vehicle to the Plaza Collision center on June 11, 2012. I took my vehicle in and the collision center told me that they would be done in 3-4 days. They gave me a Chrysler Caravan as a loaner vehicle. On June 14th, I contacted Plaza Collision to see if my vehicle was ready and they told me that it was not ready. Ben ** promised me that once I returned from vacation on June 23rd, my vehicle would be ready. On June 25, I contacted Ben and he told me that he did not know the status of my vehicle and that he would call me back. He never called me back. Finally on June 27th, he informed me that they had not even started on my vehicle. He told me that they had not done anything to my vehicle. I told him that I was coming to get my vehicle that same day. When I got my vehicle, my husband and I noticed that in addition to the white spots, I now have brown swirl burn marks on my hood from them using the machine and trying to buff the spots from my hood so much instead of just re-painting it. Christine contacted me to ask if my vehicle had been repaired to my satisfaction and I informed her of everything that had happened. She told me that she was going to escalate my issue to her boss because it had gotten to the point where I had been more than patient. A week later on July 5th, I was told that the collision center would not be able to repair my car until August 9th. I was told by Nick, who is the service manager at Plaza Audi, and Christine that I would bring my vehicle in and that I would be given an Audi loaner vehicle not a minivan. Audi also agreed to compensate me one notes car payment for all the time, headache, frustration, mental anguish, etc. that I had suffered during the last five months. I took my car in to the dealership this morning and was informed that they did not have any Audi loaner vehicles but they would deliver me an Audi loaner vehicle by the end of the day. At the end of the day on August 9, I am being told that they do not know when they will get an Audi loaner vehicle and that they will call me when they get one. I now have my car returned back to me and the repairs have still not been made.

I own a 2014 Audi Q5 TDI that I had driven from Pensacola Florida to Kansas City Missouri to see relatives. During weekend of June 13 a warning came on dash of AdBlue fault, car will not restart in 400 miles. I called Molle Audi in Kansas City first thing Monday to try get car in for check and repair if necessary. I was told they had no appointment openings but they would try to work it in as quickly as possible. I informed them I MUST have car back the next week as I planned to drive back to Florida. After not hearing anything for two days, I called them on Thursday for status. They had not touched it and said they would try the next day. They did not touch it that day but promised they would get it the next Monday. It had sat for an entire week even though they knew I needed it urgently. Monday they did diagnose it as bad AdBlue pump and absolute soonest they could get it in would be Friday the 19th. I was told Audi policy was to not expedite shipments for any reason. The car did finally get repaired and I received it on Tuesday June 30. My complaint is that they do not care whatsoever about customer needs and will do exactly what they want when they want no matter the situation. I will NEVER darken the doors of that dealer again, nor will I ever purchase any German brand auto due to their arrogant, insensitive attitudes and business practices.

I have a 2012 Audi A4 2.0. 80K miles. Last week without any prior symptoms my engine light goes on. I drive a few miles home the next day. My car will not start. I take it to dealer for diagnosis, dealer tells me the timing chain tensioner failed and timing jumped causing major damage to engine. Repair cost or new engine is estimated between six and fourteen thousand dollars. This is a known issue from Audi and there is a class action lawsuit for same issue. Looking for Audi USA to see if they can assist. Anyone had same issue or experience with Audi USA? Any recommendations.

We had an Audi years ago and wanted to have another one. The Q7 fit our needs. However, it has been a terrible experience. The brakes will not stop squeaking and the dealer says they have relayed the problem to Audi but nothing gets done. 80% of the people who own this car are complaining according to the dealer. The squeaking is so loud that you are embarrassed to drive the car when anyone can hear. It is awful. Please do NOT buy this car. Audi, please listen to your customers. I will stop people on the street and tell everyone not to buy this car.

After reading these stories, I had to write about my experience with a new 2014 leased Audi A5. About a month after I leased the car, it began to make a loud rattling noise every time I accelerated. I brought the car in 4 times over the last 3 months to try and resolve this issue. I have had a loaner vehicle for 21 days. I have been in constant contact with Audi USA customer service (800-822-2834) regarding this so that my file stays updated. After bringing it in for the third time, I requested that they replace the vehicle. They looked into it for me, told me to test drive cars that I would be willing to take in its place only to tell me a week later that my request was denied. At that time I had just picked up the car from its 4th trip to the dealership for service. Now I am going after them through an attorney that specializes in CA lemon law. Audi customer service is DISGUSTING. I get that a man made car can have issues but its how they handle it that is the problem. Do yourself a favor and give your money to BMW.

Audi Q7 is a great family car. It had the largest and most comfortable third row and is the most spacious SUV that we found. It is sleek and great looking from the outside while the interior looks modern and has the latest technology. The interior lighting also feels very calming. As for the upgrade options, we got the technology and sports packages which included nicer wheels, better steering and everything from GPS to do radio.

I own a 2015 AUDI A4. I have enjoyed the car and like the ride very much. However, after a little more than 4 years since I bought the car new, there is a severe problem with the air conditioning system. Since I live in South Florida, its essential that this works. The AC evaporator failed and needs replacement. The cost quoted me by AUDI in Naples to repair this was $4740 plus tax. Most of this cost is due to labor since it is extremely difficult to replace. The service tech explained to me that the part itself is a little over $1000, the rest is labor cost. This charge to me is due to poor quality on the part of AUDI. This part should not have failed after only 4 years. In addition, the car is poorly designed if it takes a skilled AUDI mechanic so many hours to repair. The tech said that the entire dash needs to be removed. Im very dissatisfied. Im not about to pay this much. What will fail next and and what price to repair it? I will have to get rid of this car since it is useless after less than 5 years. Needless to say I will not be buying an AUDI to replace it.

Im one very disappointed customer in Audi brand and this will haunt me for the rest of my life and I doubt the credibility and integrity of Audi. Customers mean nothing to Audi in my view. My car has been lying in the Audi Polokwane branch for the past 5 months, I gave the dealership authorization to fix the vehicle on the 8th of February and they have never contacted me to give me any update on the progress since then no loan vehicle in the 6 months. Im still paying for the vehicle on a monthly basis and have to make alternative travel arrangements and also save money towards the hefty bill of approximately R67 000 initially R103 000. In all this Audi doesnt care how their loyal client to survive. My service history shows you that I depended on the vehicle because I used to service it on average every 3 months (15 000km). Its my only vehicle. Im struggling to carry on with my daily duties and AUDI JUST DOESNT CARE. To them it seems it was just GOOD RIDDANCE to rubbish when they sold me the vehicle. This A6 is my second Audi but honestly after this treatment I doubt I can ever buy this brand again. Now I doubt everything about the brand from Customer Service/Quality/Integrity/Reliability/the ability of mechanics (I meant why would an overhaul take 4 months, when its new parts) to Durability. A 2.5-year-old vehicle requiring an engine overhaul whilst my family has a 24 yr old Toyota Corolla still going strong, maybe Im comparing apples with bananas, a good strong well-built quality affordable Japanese vehicle with an expensive poor quality German vehicle I dont know.Below is a statement from the Audi South Africa website and honestly to me none of it, is true looking at my situation. e.g. Vehicle has no quality, I mean it essentially requires a new engine at 130 000 km, I get no support, I dont feel respected either. Our relationship is just based on me losing out in many ways. Also I dont think the cars are revolutionary but quick fix to last 2 yrs or less.Audi After Sales - Quality and Prestige - The day you purchase your Audi, you dont just buy a car. You become part of a legacy that is characterised by innovation and beauty, prestige and quality. You begin a relationship founded on mutual respect and admiration that progresses into the bonds we form with you through our valuable services and aftercare support. That is why we dont stop at designing revolutionary cars, we also go on to design outstanding support products specifically created to meet the exacting needs of the discerning Audi customer.Im a very dissatisfied customer and I strongly believe this vehicle had a factory problem though I may not be able to prove it. How can an injector which is part of the fuel system fail without warning? I believe its taking forever to fix (4 months) because it was never assembled properly and I was used to get rid of it, its an engine rebuild at my costs nogal. As I mentioned above, it was just a case of GOOD RIDDANCE. I believe this problem on the vehicle is probably unheard of on this models but Audi just wont admit. Otherwise it could have been sorted in 2 weeks at most. Its a factory fault. This is poor customer service of the highest order. This whole experience has left me traumatized badly. It has also changed how I perceive Audi considering I was such a loyal customer having bought my 1st Audi in 2011 (A4 1.8T).

There were plenty of models for me to choose from and packages were varied. Also the pricing on models allowed me to consider different options. Many on site vehicles to test drive. Very sleek look. Regardless of the model they all were very well design. Loved the options of the interior. Leather looked great and tan leather was awesome. Also color variety was nice. Was excited to get heated seats and a navigation system for a great price. Seats an average amount of people. There was decent leg room in the back and the passenger seat allowed for quite a bit of room. Also enjoyed the mobility of the back seats.

Similar to other reviews, I have experienced the inability of my Audi Q5 to hold its stereo presets. Audi has said that it is an issue with Sirius XM, but I am not seeing the same issue with other makes and models. While radio presets is a small problem compared to say, engine problems, it is that Audi has been nonchalant about a feature not working at all since the time of purchase. It, along with several other service issues in which I had to be the one to get a matter taken care of, shows the lack of accountability on Audi’s part, and will be the reason that I will never purchase another Audi and will actively prevent friends and family from making the same mistake.

New A6 Prestige purchased Dec 2019. On February 11th 2020 the new car just dies while spouse driving on Post Road in center lane with daughter in car. Car just stops and is immobile. Audi Emergency Roadside Assistance does not show up for 3 hours despite confirms two truck being sent and numerous calls for help. Car and spouse stranded in middle of dangerous road at rush hour. Fairfield Service Center engaged yet waiting on Audi Assistance service vs actually intervening to help a loyal local customer. Explanation is they are not responsible for roadside assistance? Car towed 3 plus hours after and no explanation why brand new car died. Safety was why we were loyal Audi clients for 12 years and 6 vehicles. Lack of safety is why that’s over. Questions linger on potential dangers of new A6 (reminder of sudden acceleration issues from past). The car suddenly dying if my spouse had been driving on I95 could have been much more dangerous. Post Road was dangerous enough. Disappointed and shocked after 12 years of loyalty to Audi cars and Fairfield Audi.

German Engineering = Blown Engine at 130K. Im very disappointed with my experience owning a 2009 Audi A4. Ive owned the car for the majority of its life (starting at 20K miles) and had taken great care to perform regular maintenance. I had driven it carefully and loved the car (while it worked). However, at 50-60K I had massive oil consumption problems which Audi refused to believe were the cause of poor design. At 70-80K I had enough and called corporate (thanks to a suggestion from a mom & pop Audi mechanic, NOT Audi dealership) which replaced the piston rings for FREE and fixed my oil consumption. Then at 130K the engine finally blew, with no warning. I went to corporate with all of my maintenance records asking for help, since a normal car (not even talking LUXURY here) should last well over 130K miles. They led me along for 2 months, along with the dealership in Wilmington DE, and afterwards, quoted me an insane price for replacing the engine ($10k+), even with discounted labor. When I sent a detailed email to the North America CEOs (Audi & VW), they sent me to a rep who essentially said theyve done all their due diligence & fulfilled their responsibility by settling a class action lawsuit and refused to provide any kind of measurable assistance to me, personally. Too bad they never informed me of this lawsuit (despite me having problems during the time of the lawsuit), and I never received any kind of actual help from the company. I went through so much grief with this car, and all because of faulty engineering, which the company would not take responsibility for (settling a class action lawsuit, without informing me, is their definition of taking responsibility). They dragged me along for 2 months, while my car was rusting in my driveway. This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my nearly 30 years of existence. How anyone can claim this company is reliable (after this lawsuit, after their emissions scandals, and specifically after the way they treated me) is beyond me. I will never buy an Audi (or VW, at this point) again... And I will make sure to tell my story for the rest of my life, working in Corporate Finance (Audis target market). Because this CAN and WILL happen to you. The same engine issues the 09-11 A4s had, the 2017 A4 will probably have as well (since its a new engine design). And Audi doesnt care, because theyll just settle any upcoming lawsuit and pay that small percentage of claimants that were actually informed... And tell the others to go fly a kite. Much cheaper than actually standing up and holding yourself responsible for your poorly designed vehicles.

Everything about Audi is fantastic. I am not familiar with other cars made by this brand, but I have seen commercials that seem like Audi has good variety in their body styles. Its appearance is very sleek and stylish, with a great deal of technological features while youre driving. I love both the handling and technology of this car. Upgrades are a breeze. They come easily and quickly and personalization is key to this company. Each car seems tailored to its driver. Passenger capacity is fine. It holds the amount passengers that I need for it to carry and it does so comfortably. All of its features help the ride to go smoother.
