Acura Repair
Acura is the luxury and performance division of Honda Motor Company. The brand was launched in the United States and Canada on March 27, 1986, marketing luxury and performance automobiles.
Automobile Repair
Acura manufactures cars that owners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy autos require occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Acura auto repair from experienced professionals, your local Auto Helper can help.
Fix Poor Acceleration
Your car’s computer relies on the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) to detect the volume, mass, and temperature of the air entering your engine. It then calculates the proper amount of fuel to add. However, if the sensing elements inside the MAF are dirty, the computer gets skewed readings and miscalculates how much fuel to add, and that causes performance issues.
Most MAF sensors can be restored to full operating conditions with a simple cleaning. To clean your MAF sensor, buy a can of MAF Sensor Cleaner from any auto parts store. Remove the sensor from the air duct by loosening the worm drive clamps with a screwdriver or socket. Then aim the spray cleaner directly at the sensing elements inside the MAF housing. Soak the sensing elements but don’t touch them with your fingers, rag, or brush—they’ll break. Let the solvent dry, then reinstall the MAF.
If a dirty sensor was causing your acceleration problem, the cleaning should put you back in the groove. If not, get it checked out by a pro.
Car Won’t Start
If you turn the key and hear a single click or rapid clicking but the engine doesn’t crank (rotate), chances are you’ve got a weak or dead battery or corroded battery terminals. Since you probably won’t have the right tools with you when your engine won’t start, here are two easy ways to get up and running.
Car batteries make power through a chemical reaction and that reaction slows down in cold weather. If you can warm up the battery, you can increase battery output. You can warm up the battery simply by turning the key to start several times, with a 5-minute rest period between each try. Here’s how to do it. Turn the key to the START position and hold it in that position for about 5 seconds. Turn the key off and wait 5 minutes. Repeat six more times. If it doesn’t start on the last try, move on to the shoe trick below.
Remove your shoe and tap each battery terminal with the heel. Then try starting the engine. If it starts, clean the battery terminals as soon as you get home.
The Car is Consuming Too Much Oil
Fresh oil is essential for a car to function but if you are constantly topping up your oil level you may have a problem with the car. If you start to notice a drop-off in performance or the oil light comes on you will definitely need to check the oil. If you don’t get the oil changed regularly you might find that the engine becomes corroded. Poor quality oil or lack of regular changes can also cause blockages in the oil filter. It is best to change the oil filter at the same time as you change the oil although some modern cars do have a filter bypass system in place.
The Starter Motor is Failing
The starter motor is the component that turns the engine over when you start the car. If it fails it is either a result of electrical solenoid damage, the motor itself has broken or there are other faults in the electrical system. It is difficult to assess when a starter motor is likely to break and to avoid replacing it unnecessarily it is best to get the car inspected by a professional to determine the cause of the starting issues before doing so.
The Radiator is Leaking
Radiator leaks are almost always caused by corrosion. Corrosion itself can have a lot of causes but once you get one leak you are likely to get more so it makes sense to replace the whole radiator. If you don’t keep the radiator in good condition you can get problems with overheating and, ultimately, could end up with an engine fire.
The Alternator is Failing
The alternator is an essential part of the running of your car – it keeps your battery charged and makes sure all the electrics run once you have started the vehicle. If it breaks your battery can wear out and you find it difficult to start the car. Keep up with the service intervals and make sure you get it replaced in good time.
There are Cracks in the Windscreen
Usually, it takes some kind of external force like a stone to crack a windscreen but there are some cars that are prone to damage because of factory production vulnerabilities. Although a small crack might not seem like a big deal, it can spread rapidly and compromise the integrity of the glass.

My exterior door panels have warped 3 separate times and now the 4th time. Acura (2015 Acura RDX) has a defective material and now fails to stand behind their product. This has also happened to my 2016 Honda Accord. I know numerous people that own the same products and they too have warped panels. Acura will not stand behind their product. I am so finished with this company. I own 3 Acura’s and a Honda! I’m finished with them.
Honda Acuras are designed like a luxury car but with a reasonable dollar sign. They ride smooth. The 2008 Acura is compact but sporty at the same time. Its fully loaded, remote start. The color is a deep dark green, with the softest caramel colored leather seats. I love the leather seats. Its a sleek little sedan that looks sporty. I like how when driving, it drives so smooth. Its comfortable for long road trips and has the best gas mileage. But I might change how the cup holders and console are situated. I dislike how the memory setting for the seats work. It memorizes by size not by number. So I program the seat for me and it always goes to my husbands setting first because he is the bigger setting. I am programmed under number one, and he is programmed to number two. I still have to go through his setting before go to mine.
There are a number of models to choose from and they range from the lower, cheaper models to the more expensive models with all the bells and whistles. It is a relatively higher end brand – not going to be on the lower price of cars but there are other brands that are much more expensive. There were a lot of personalization options available but of course they are all pricey but you get what you pay for. Overall I was pretty happy. It is fairly roomy and a little bit bigger than other cars. I am satisfied with passenger capacity.
I was very impressed initially with the car, it truly lives up to its reputation. I have been driving Acura for many years as my father did when he was alive. However, when it comes to customer care, I can tell you that the dealership fell very short. I had to replace the windshield due to a crack. Once the windshield was replaced, it then needed to be re-calibrated. When I contacted Center Acura, they told me that they were very familiar with this issue - no problem. It would take about 1.5 hours to do the job. Come very early in the am. So I did, to discover they could not calibrate the windshield because it needed a specialized silicone film first. They said, We will order this and call you next week, but should take a couple of days to get. They never called - two weeks later, I called and they said, We forgot to call you. I couldnt believe this since Acura is totally customer oriented.I rescheduled for this past Monday am - when I brought in my car, the service representative said, I will need to do extensive research on this. I replied, This is unacceptable. I had to leave because I was taking time off work. Several service department employees sent me emails and text messages asking me if I was satisfied with the service I received??? I promptly replied to all of them via email, text and phone calls. No one replied!!!I then ended up calling client relations. My case was assigned to a rep who I just spoke to. She listened but did not grasp the issue - the main issue is the lack of response to the customer. She perseverated about getting someone to do the work. I re-explained my position again, she ignored me and said this might be a good training issue for the dealership. In the meantime, I, along with my insurance company who offered to pay for this are attempting to locate a vendor who can do the job.
My Acura TL 2014 model was purchased new and I never had a black vehicle but always seen black cars and they looked great. The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The vehicle rides so smoothly on various roads while steering is very comfortable and ease to control the vehicle. Overall I recommend this vehicle but my taste has changed in terms of car type. I would like to pursue a mid sized SUV in the future.
I leased a 2016 RDX in March. The first few days of driving I noticed a vibrating sound under the hood near the passenger side. I took my car back to the dealer in Santa Monica and was told it happens on these cars. Its the brake pump adjusting. The agent told me he tested other 2016 RDXs and he heard the noise. Well it continued. I took it back the following week and I drove around with a service agent and of course I could not replicate the noise. It only happens occasionally but its very irritating! I was told unless they hear it when driving the car there is nothing they can do. I had a 2104 RDx I loved, Im starting to hate this car.
Acura RLX - DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!! I bought the car because it says it gets 20/24/30. I get 15/19/25. Acura Relations - LOSERS - says sorry there are many factors in what your car gets. I put premium in it; drive the speed limit, have an empty car yet it gets 5 mpg less. I will NEVER buy an Acura again. Unfortunately I am in a three-year lease or I would get rid of it. ACURA HAS LOUSY CUSTOMER RELATIONS - dont buy this car or any Acura for that matter.
Bought the Acura TL as a CPO. Good value. No real issues except for a couple of minor computer parts that needed to be replaced. Now have 127k miles on it and have owned it for 9 years. 2005 model year. Best body style... Do not like the newer ones, style wise.
The car is beautiful and that is my biggest attraction to it. I have the one with everything on it so its very comfortable. My only issues are 1.) Its a little bit rough to drive, you feel every little bump on the road. 2.) Acura doesnt do anything special for the owners, prior to this I had 2 Lexus and when you go to the dealership to get your car serviced you are treated like VIP. You can wait for the car in a lounge where you can have in the morning free bagels, toast or danishes along with regular or specialty coffee, if its lunch time free water, juice or soda. They have nice comfortable leather chairs, desktop computers, iPads and large screen TVs. In addition to this if its going to be longer than a couple of hours they just give you a beautiful loaner. Anything you want so you can try out all their different models.
2009 Acura TSX is Junk. Interior that looked like leather is really rubber as thin as a balloon, all around the seat sides, head rest and arm rest. Falling apart at 90,000 miles and looks like the car has leprosy. Very sad for such an expensive auto. Burns oil like an old Chevy. I will never by another Acura or Honda. Compare that to my Toyota Tacoma. 12 years old, 130,000 miles, interior looks new and mechanically have never had any failure of any kind. What was I thinking to buy to Acura?
I use this car mostly in the city so for its purpose it is solid. However when I do hit the highway there is no question I am secure in this vehicle. Performance: not the best off the mark but it handles well. Put some snow tires on and your good all winter. ACURA is part of the HONDA family and I am a Honda fan so I felt confident in this purchase. This car is a mid level SUV which stands up very well. It drives not as smoothly as some higher end makes but certainly delivers a quality comfortable ride. The Nav system needs work and maybe theyve fixed it since my 2014 but for now I dont get to use it. I drive off my phone instead. I cant really speak to gas consumption as I drive very little but so far, is reasonable.
Acuras are very stylish both inside and out and have a great technology package that makes driving much more productive and fun. Although theres not a lot of different cars that Acura produces, there are quite a few variables that go into each car, such as options. Plus they makes a variety of cars with differing sizes. I have the TLX which is a perfect size for my needs. I rarely have any passengers in the back seat but there is plenty of leg room for them when I do. I wholeheartedly recommend Acura as a great choice in cars. I would also strongly recommend anybody purchasing an Acura get the technology package because it provides an awesome GPS and sound system. It has very intuitive controls and easy to operate.
Acura was useful and satisfied my needs. It was small nice and interesting enough so that I could fit inside and feel comfortable. It has enough seats so I could fit my brother, father, and mother. It is roomy enough to not feel stuffy or claustrophobic for myself and others. The radio, and the air conditioner worked and I cant really complain about it. I usually try to get a guided positional satellite receiver because I get lost a lot in my drivings. I would recommend this brand to anyone who wants to try it and I hope that you will consider trying this brand just like I did.
I purchased two CPO Acuras. A 2014 RDX with 8000 miles on it and a 2015 TLX with 5,000 miles. Since then have performed all maintenance as specified through a dealer. I have had issues with both vehicles as described below. With under 50,000 miles on the RDX a check emissions light came on and I replaced a front rocker arm oil sensor switch. One month later the light came back on and I was told the the vehicle needed to have a software upgrade for the engine and transmission for $200. 3 days later the light came back on and now the Im told the rear oil sensor switch needs to be replaced for another $300.With TLX I experienced something I had never seen. Approximately 3 or 4 months after replacing the battery at the dealer the car shut down completely at an intersection with no power on to anything not even the emergency flashers. I was forced to call the police and a tow truck to get me to the dealer $400 later the dealer informed me that the replacement battery had failed. Of course they replaced the battery at no charge but no compensation for the cost of the tow or my time (I was on my way to a client). I would seriously advise anyone looking at spending the money on an luxury brand to be advised to careful consider not only the vehicle but how youll be treated afterwards.
With a variety of models to choose from, I have found Acura to be the car for me. Their cars are designed with a sleek look, are fuel efficient, and are safety tested to ensure that the vehicle is road ready and safe to drive. In my car everything is digital and easy to see. Not only will the cars appearance draw attention, the inside was designed to provide the customer with a sense of pride for owning a Acura. Plenty of leg space to provide comfort for the driver and all occupants who ride along. With a sleek and sexy design these cars should be the most cost efficient vehicle on the road. I believe there is a body style to fit anyones preferred taste in appearance.
There are sedans, that is what I have. Acura also has sports cars and SUVs. They are all similar but they each are sleek and attractive cars. They look sleek and modern. The colors are great, especially white pearl. The leather seats and wood on the dashboard are beautiful. The wheels are unique too. There are engine upgrades as well as stereo, heating/air conditioning, lighting, GPS and display upgrades. They offer satellite radio and cameras and parking sensors. Ive had some engine issues, I love the smooth ride though. The standard amount of people can fit in the vehicles. My car is roomy, no one has ever complained. There is good leg room as well. I fit 2 in the front and 3 in the back seat, even with a car seat back there.
I leased a 2014 Acura RDX. The vehicle was recalled due to a faulty airbag. The parts will take two months to come in but we dont want to drive the car due to the safety risk. Acura, via my local dealer, provided a rental car that is far below the quality of the RDX. For example, no navigation. I complained to the dealer and to Acura Customer Affairs. Policy is that they only provide a vehicle - not an equivalent vehicle. At the same time, I am still paying the full lease for a car that I cant drive. Is this fair? Very poor job on the part of Acura.
As an owner of an Acura MDX I must express my sincere disappointment with the companys customer service (or lack thereof). The dealer from whom I bought my car lost its contract with Acura. (This can happen.) Acura has never contacted me to advise as to where I should take the vehicle for warranty work. The nearest Acura dealer is a 2 hour (one way) drive for me, but an certified Honda dealer is only 10 minutes away.Acura now sends me a recall notice informing me a bolt needs to be replaced. The Honda dealer tells me they can do the work, but it will be covered by Acura only with prior authorization. Acura denies authorization and will require me to undertake a 4 hour trip to effect this recall. Oh and it took Acura 4 weeks and multiple calls on my part to decide my request to deal with the Honda dealer would be denied. Never once did Acura return my call. Oh. Acura did send me a letter to wish me a Happy Anniversary in recognition of my Acura Ownership. Based upon their lack of caring, and lack of responsiveness, I would never purchase another Acura!
I have had Acuras since 1987. Most reliable car ever had. And, when there was a problem, both dealer and Acura resolved issue to my complete satisfaction without any hesitation or reservation.
Luxury, comfort, power, economy and best dealerships! Its fun to drive and handles well, also looks classy and stylish. The main thing its made by HONDA, that says volumes. My wife and I took a long car trip and she said this is the first time on a car trip her back didnt get sore. Total Reliability, also MADE IN AMERICA.
I bought brand new Acura MDX in 2007. Since I bought I have had issues related to either Accelerator noise, Air conditioning leakage, or low brakes and cracks and scratches in seat leather. I have been taking my MDX to fix these issues at Bloomington Acura dealership where I bought it. I am very much disappointed with Acura manufacturer as these issues have arisen at baby miles. I am also very upset and disappointed with Bloomington Acura Service Dept. as far as finding the source and fixing issues at the first place. I always have to bring my Acura MDX twice or three times before they are able to diagnose the exact symptoms. In the past, I had to take my Acura MDX three times to the service dept to figure out the source of Air-conditioning leakage.Currently, I am having issues with low brakes. Few months ago, the brake pedal is almost to floor before I am able to stop the car, I took my Acura MDX to Bloomington Acura service dept. I was told initially that they will try to find any brake fluid leakage, if not then they will have to change the Master Cylinder part to fix the issue. I agreed, eventually they had to change Master Cylinder but when I drove the car I still didnt see much difference because the brake pedal was still almost to the floor when pressing the brake pedal. So, I took my Acura MDX again to the service dept and they said everything is fine and up to the coding standards. There is nothing else is remaining to be done by them. They suggested to drive the MDX for couple more months and see if it comes back. Within three weeks the issue came back and again the brake pedal is almost to the floor. I have taken an appointment with the service dept again and will find out if they come up with some different stories. I am really disappointed first of all with the quality of Acura MDX because I have not driven my car much and it has only around 43K miles and yet I have brake issues. Also, what drives me crazy is that the service dept cant fix the issue although they are so called Acura Specialist which they charge tons of money. I wish they have experienced and certified people to fix cars in the first visit.
I bought a new 1991 Acura Integra LS on 7 Dec. 1991. With the purchase, I received several warranties. One of the warranties included the free replacement of a 2nd muffler. I have been a loyal customer of McConnell Acura for 20+ years. I took my car in for service on 17 July and asked the advisor to check the engine because the car was difficult to start. I also asked the advisor to check the AC and muffler. The technician found faulty spark plugs and a clogged PVC hose and valve. They also wanted to retrofit my AC from R12 to R134A. The car is in good shape, so I agreed. The advisor did not mention anything about the muffler. When I picked my vehicle up and paid the invoice, I asked the advisor if there was a replacement warranty on a 2nd muffler. She stated that she had asked her management and there was a replacement warranty on the older vehicles. I called McConnell Acura on 24 July 2012 to schedule an appointment to have my muffler checked. I spoke with another advisor. She scheduled my appointment for 27 July 2012 at 10am. When I arrived on 27 July, the Acura service advisor called the Honda service advisor and based on their conversation, she told me that the muffler replacement warranty covered rust and leaks in the muffler. I gave her the key and went to the waiting area. After about 30 minutes, the advisor came and told me that I did not need a muffler. There were no leaks or rust. I asked again when I reached the counter and she confirmed that there were no rust or leaks. I asked for a printout and left.I was skeptical of McConnell Acuras determination because I felt I was being ignored and dismissed. So, the afternoon of 27 July 2012, I went to another auto shop and took pictures of my muffler that shows rust, deterioration and a hole. I am only asking McConnell Acura to honor a warranty agreement that was made almost 21 years ago when I bought the vehicle.
My wife and I purchased a 2012 Acura TL from Montgomeryville Acura on 04/26/2011. It was our first luxury car. It was a very exciting time for us. We even have pictures that we posted driving home from the dealership. On 08/31/2015 we sold the car. Here is how we got there: 08/29/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Battery tests well, but was replaced. 11/03/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. Bad cell. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Technician tells my wife that the battery was replaced even though it tested well. 08/09/2012 – Message on dash – “Voice account needs to be updated”. Second message on dash – “Gas cap loose”. Took car to dealer. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/04/2014 – Messages and indicators on dash – “check battery”, “check oil”, “air bag fault”, “fuel cap loose” -Took car to dealer. Battery sensor updated. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/27/2014 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. According to work order, “sensor tests good”. Sensor replaced. 01/08/2015 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. Replaced battery. 04/21/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work” - Took car to dealer. Reset message. According to work order, “everything checks out fine.” 05/08/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work”. Beginning to have problems with paired phone. Many dropped calls. -Took car to dealer. Switch replaced. Dealer could not replicate the issue with the phone. 05/29/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work”. Beginning to have problems with paired phone. Many dropped calls. Took car to dealer. Switch replaced.I spoke with Garrett ** (business manager) and Russell ** (lead service advisor) numerous times. I do believe that they did everything within their powers to help to resolve the issue. We left numerous messages for Steve ** (dealership manager) who never responded to an email or phone message. I had two primary concerns. This vehicle was not safe to drive. The warranty was due to expire in April 2015. Would I be expected to pay for repairs that clearly existed while the car was under warranty that could not be repaired? I asked the dealer to provide a letter indicating that they would be responsible to repair anything beyond the warranty period that was identified an issue within the warranty period. They refused. I was told that we should trust that they would stand by their product.Eventually I was referred to Acura client relations. My first contact was with Kristine (extension **). I asked to be called on my cell phone. She mostly left messages on my home phone. Eventually I was able to reach her. Her solution was to take the car to the dealer. I asked to escalate to her supervisor. She refused stating that she was in charge and no one else could do anything. I asked her to provide some sort of acknowledgement of the situation. She refused. Other than a fax, she only would communicate with me by phone. Eventually she admitted to having a boss. She told me his name was Michael, but policy did not permit her to provide his last name. After a fair amount of wasted time I found that his full name was Michael **. He said that there was nothing that he could do to help. The issue would be escalated to an arbitration group at Acura. He would forward the issue, but would not give me any way to contact them. They would call me if needed. To date, I have not heard from them or Michael. My feeling was that the car was not safe to drive. I had no idea if the airbags or brakes were going to work. This car spent over 30 days in 2015 at the dealership while they looked, but didn’t find a solution. I suggested to Garrett that we swap out the car. He said that he would get us a deal that we could not refuse. He would give us a deep discount on a new car and a generous allowance on a trade in. The deal was $1500 below sticker. The trade in allowance was also not that exciting. The offer was an insult. I believe that Acura makes a quality vehicle and that the problem happened to be in the one that I purchased.I also believe that the dealership and Acura as a company came up very short in how they dealt with me as a customer. I’ll be sure to share this experience with my friends. I posted when I purchased the car. I will do the same now that it is gone. I am very pleased that I no longer own an Acura.
I have a 2015 Acura MDX that I purchased brand new and it has been garage kept ever since. The paint on the roof started to peel and slough off right above the front windshield between the windshield and the sunroof. I contacted the dealership that I bought the car from, and I was informed that this was a factory defect on this model and make car that they were aware of and they had extended the paint warranty. They did tell me that they would repair the defective area and this would take about 7 to 10 day. I asked for a rental or a loaner car but they said that their policy regarding extended warranties did not cover loaners or rentals. Due to this policy, I knew I would have to fork out several hundred dollar to pay for a rental car. Ok, I agreed to bring my car in to have the defect repaired and pay for my own rental. Three weeks later, when I went to drop my car off at Acura, I was informed by the service manager that there was a possibility that my windshield would break because it would have to be removed to properly fix the defective area. He did tell me that, if the windshield broke, it would be my responsibility and he recommended that in the event that this happened, I should file a claim with my insurance company. They did give me the option to have it painted without removing the windshield but that would void any further warranty on the paint job. My windshield was in good condition when I brought my car in to be painted. It had two small stars on it that had been previously repaired. The windshield did break during the repair and I was then forced to make a claim with my insurance and paid the $1000 deductible. In the end, I have had to pay my insurance deductible and the cost of a rental car for a week due to a defective paint job by Acura. I am now hoping my insurance company does not penalize me with higher rates.
When we purchased the 2011 Acura RDX Turbo, I asked my salesman what was the actual gas mileage for this car. The sticker said 19/26 but he said 16/22. This car is driven very conservatively and we are averaging only 13.5 to 14 per gallon. My question is what can be done about this and why would Acura produce a car that only gets this kind of mileage when all other car makers are engineering their cars for economy driving, not a gas hog? The car is a decent automobile except for my complaint. I just might sell this car and go to another brand.
2012 Acura TSX Power Steering System - On Thursday, I was driving back to work from my lunch break when suddenly as I was coming around a turn my steering wheel locked up and I immediately went into panic mode and could barely drive my car. I immediately tried to pull over and the Check Power Steering system light came on. I turned my car off and then back on and drove 500 feet back to work since the light went off. After work, I drove to the gym about 5 miles away and as I was driving again, it locked again. I brought it over to the Meineke next to the gym and had him keep it overnight to look at it in the morning. After he inspected it the next day and drove it, he said there was nothing wrong wear and tear wise on the car that he could see and to bring it to Acura. I brought it over the Acura in East Brunswick and told them my safety concern and did not want to drive this vehicle that clearly has something wrong with it that is out of my control. 3 hours later, I get a call saying that my power system steering wire went and I need a whole new system for around 1200. My car is 4 years old with 60,000 miles on it. After speaking with him and getting a price he told me that they would give me a rental car for free and that at any second the power steering system could go while I was driving. This is obviously a huge safety concern, there was no warning whatsoever and I was driving while my steering wheel locked up on me in a very busy area. I talked to numerous mechanics that said that that should not be happening whatsoever to a newer car with that amount of miles on it and it must be some type of defect. I decided to file a case with Acura because I do not feel like I am liable for this defect in their car. BTW I am still leasing and my warranty was up at 50,000 miles. When I went to Acura later that day to pick up my things and receive my rental car, they refused to give me one. I asked to speak with the manager and he said he needed to confirm with corporate Acura who I filed a case with to see if they will give me a rental. Well the next day they called and said that Acura said I did not deserve a rental car since I do not get my service done there. So I called corporate Acura and they were closed and called back the dealership and asked who they spoke to and the rep said that the manager had a personal number. I have not been to work in three days, was told I would know something yesterday, but the manager was off yesterday and now I am told tomorrow a case manager will come look at my car. This is unbelievable. I am refused a rental car after paying my monthly payment for this car for the past 4 years, I was driving an UNSAFE car that has some type of defect, and I am getting false information from the dealership and treated poorly and when I went to the dealership yesterday to get my EZ pass out of the car, it was unlocked and no one even looked twice at me that I could have been just going into to some random persons car. I am looking into an attorney if they do not cover this in full.
I have a 2010 RDX that I bought certified pre-owned. Just had my first oil change. Price shocker... What oil change costs $200??? In looking at the bill, $147 is for labor. The service also included a tire rotation which still should not cost that much. In addition, I waited an 1 1/2 for the car. What oil change takes that long?? I contacted another Acura dealership and was quoted a lower price for the same service. So far, Acura is horrible. The car came back with more dirt than it had when I brought it in. First Acura, Last Acura.
DO NOT BUY AN ACURA. I have a 5-year-old Acura with 55,000 - Garage kept. All of the so called leather is coming off the doors and has torn on the side of the drivers seat. I called Acura/Honda goodwill department and received a callback today saying it would cost $3600.00 but they will give me a discount and I can pay only $750.00. I have had Lexus, BMW, and a Nissan which were much older and never had a problem with the leather.
The Acura has a variety of different cars and usually all fuel efficient. When I purchased my car I looked at a variety of Nissans and chose the Acura due to the fuel efficiency of the product. I have a black model and love it. It is shiny and always stays shiny. I like the red color in this car. I did not do any upgrades on my Acura since I was trying to keep the cost down, but many are available. The best one in my opinion is the navigation system. The passenger capacity is also good and sits 5 including the driver. I dont think you can get better than that but I am completely satisfied with it. I am very happy with my Acura.
I love the size of my Acura ILX. It has the feel of a much larger car and drives and rides great. It has plenty of power which many small cars lack. I’ve had no problems with my car during the 3 years I’ve owned it.
Acura of Memphis service department. I took my brand new car in for an oil change. My Acura RDX had no problems when it went in. When I got the car back from the service department, I left the service department and once I got on the road and hit the brakes the car’s brakes something underneath makes a hard click. I recognize this tactic from the days when dealerships service departments would service your car and when you drove away something else would happen and you would need service for the problem. I plan to take it to my honest mechanic and ask him to evaluate the problem.
The Honda Acura had many models including SUVs or sedans. I have an SUV car and it is very convenient for the snow. It handles snowstorms pretty well and is able to get up the hills. The car looks luxurious and has an expensive feel to it. Definitely cheaper than the Lexus or BMW but has many similar car features. The additional higher end features are included in this car. It has many advanced features and upgrades including the sound system, sunroof, Bluetooth accessibility, roof rack, heated seats, GPS, parking cameras in the front and the back. This car seats 5 people including the driver which is perfect for a regular sized family. It is good for vacationing and there is a good amount of leg room when seated fully and no one is really cramped or smushed together.
My wife and I purchased a pre-owned 2017 Acura MDX from a local Honda dealership which was acquired from a Colorado Acura dealership via a regional car auction. The vehicle had only 650 original miles on the odometer and was spotless as well as mechanically in excellent condition. The car now has 3500 miles and the entire family is very impressed with the quality and comfort. Very pleased!
I currently own my third Honda/Acura vehicle. It is a 2002 Acura MDX. In Aug 2012, I brought it to Kingston Honda because the transmission was acting odd. They informed me that there was a recall on the transmission. This recall requires the technician to send photos of the transmission gears to Honda Canada where they are reviewed. If there is any sign of damage the transmission is replaced. If there is no sign of damage an oil injector kit will be installed (which takes 0.1 hours or 6 minutes to install). I was disheartened to be informed that my transmission was in perfect shape and therefore would not be replaced as I knew that it was acting up. I returned to them four more times in the next ten months with concerns about the transmission not working properly only to have them tell me each time that it was fine. On the last visit (July 2013) I was told that the transmission is gone and I was recommended I go to a local transmission shop to get it rebuilt for $5500. I asked the service manager why it had not been replaced earlier when the recall was performed and he told me that he did not know. I also asked for a copy of the reply from Honda Canada stating that the photos had indicated that the transmission showed no sign of wear but he had no record of it. In my opinion, Hondas recall appears to be lip service.
I love the car that I have because it is fast, quality, and fun. It has a good radio, a good size trunk, and has a lot of space in the car so that you are comfortable and dont feel squished, and that was another big factor in choosing this car. The AC and heater also works really well. They didnt have a lot of upgrade options but I think that I got a good value for the car. The price is a big reason that I choose this car.
I know it’s a huge review but please read it before you make a decision to buy Acura ILX! Maybe it will help you to change your mind! Since the moment I bought a brand new Acura ILX 2020 as a pleasure car in July 2020, I have already visited Prime Acura Dealership 10 times. The main issue – is a loud clunking noise that coming from the front side of the vehicle so you can feel it in the floor when tapping the gas while cruising and also from the passenger’s side and also hesitation while driving. All these problems occurred when the mileage on the car was about 3500 miles. To solve the issues, the dealership made a decision to replace the right axel (twice) and the intermediate shaft. They unsuccessfully tried to resolve the issue with the noise two times. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem the 3rd time, they told me that the noise is actually a normal characteristic of the vehicle. When I asked them why it was considered abnormal before and now it became normal, the mechanic told me that he didn’t know this particular model very well at that point. When I tried to look for a help in the other dealerships, I had received the same answer – the noise is the normal characteristic and the car is acting as designed. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem (it was my 6th time) the mechanic with more than 20 years of experience at Acura, who did a test drive, told me that the main reason of the noise could be transmission defect and that, possibly, there is a transmission replacement required. But after couple days of working with my car, the manager of the dealership got back to me with the answer that the car is acting normal. I have a camera in my car that recording 24/7, and the moment where the mechanic mentioned the transmission defect was recorded. But when I came home and check my recordings, I found out that that particular piece is missing. I have never had any issues with my camera before! Unfortunately, nobody from the dealership was able to explain me how that happened. To my great luck, I forgot to switch my clock to winter time, and because of that I have all the videos that I thought have been deleted. I decided not to give up and made an appointment with the engineer at Prime Acura. I requested a joint test drive with him, but at the dealership they told me that this is impossible because of the COVID-19. It was weird to me, because they allowed joint test drives with the mechanics but no with the engineers. When I realized that nobody at Prime Acura wants to help me, I went to the independent licensed mechanics who confirmed that the problem exists –“ there are hesitation during acceleration and thumping noise during up shifts, problem is indicated as internal transmission or TCM programming issue”. It was exactly the same words that the mechanic at Acura said to me before they changed their minds. One day I couldn’t start my car, because the battery died (Brand new car!). I had to ask my husband to jump the car and rafter that I went to the Prime Acura right away. The mechanic performed the test and told me that the battery died because it was defective. They replaced the battery, but 3 weeks later I found out that my camera was not recording in the parking mode, although it was before the battery was replaced. The mechanics who installed the camera told me that the battery voltage falls below 12 volts and the camera stops the recording. I came back to Prime Acura to ask what battery they installed, because before the replacement there were no issues with the camera whatsoever. The answer that I received was the power capacity of the battery is small and the camera is too heavy for it. When I asked them why it never happened to my old battery they just tried to avoid to answer the question and only repeated that the battery is too small.I tried to look up the problem and found a few articles about the camera, stating that the camera can’t kill the battery. I sent those to the Prime Acura rep. I just wanted to get answers on my questions but instead I received very rude email from him where he says that he doesn’t want to continue the conversation. Bottom line, I haven’t seen worse customer service that was provided by Prime Acura. They haven’t fixed my problem, they haven’t shown any desire to help or at least sympathy and respect towards me as the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to buy Acura ILX! This 26k purchase only gave me a huge headache and a lot of stress, humiliation and prejudice of my customer and human rights. Acura doesn’t stand by their product or does the right thing by the customer! The actual quality doesn’t comply with stated, car warranty is nothing but a joke and the “premium class” is just a dial tone.
We purchased a new Bellanova White 2015 Acura TLX in June. We noticed that there were runs and pits or dimples in the paint in several areas of the car. After contacting the dealer, they took the car in to repair the paint run. The service manager took pictures and sent them to the Regional Rep who approved repainting the runs, but since a camera could not pick up the pits, the Rep said that he would have to personally inspect the vehicle. The service manager told us that his staff would inspect the entire vehicle and he sent it out to have the runs and pits repainted. After having our car for about 2 months, the pits in the paint are still not fixed by the dealer. The regional rep, who was scheduled to personally inspect our car on Oct 20, 2015 cancelled the viewing and to our knowledge has never seen the vehicle. We have contacted the Acura corporate office and they notified us that Acura will not take any responsibility for the pitting/dimples in the paint and they dont consider it a defect. BUYER BEWARE!!! Our only option at this time is to report this matter to the State Attorney General and apply for a solution through the states Lemon Law. My wife and I have owned 8 Hondas/Acuras since the 80s including 1 new RSX and 3 new TLs/TLX. This is the most disappointing new car, or used car purchase either of us have ever experienced. As I said earlier, BUYER BEWARE!
Purchased new from Acura dealer, a 2014 MDX. At 22,000 miles noticed annoying chirping noise. After second time to dealer, they advised noise is from fuel pump and characteristic of vehicle & similar to other MDX. The loaners I have driven do not have this noise nor did mine for first 22,000 miles. I paid $50,000 for this vehicle, which is my fourth MDX. Unless Acura changes their response and fixes this noise, it will be my last. Who pays this amount of money to listen to irritating noise caused by fuel pump? Acura appears to be company driven by cost not customer relations! Where in the past I recommended to friends to consider an MDX, I now advise them of my unresolved issue. Those that ride with me ask what the noise is and wonder why I do not have dealer repair. They are dumbfounded that Acura considers this noise acceptable.
My dashboard started cracking around the passenger side airbag. My car is garage-kept most of the time, even at work! Its obvious that this a manufacturer defect and should be replaced! In one day, I saw 4 TLs with cracked dashboards! I dont think I will buy another Acura.
I am a huge fan of Acura as well as Samsung and anything about cars and electronics intrigues me. I own a TSX ACURA year of 2010, I am greatly in love with it. Acura has a nice sleek look that make it different from other cars on the road today in 2016. The best part about it that it is luxury but not too expensive, great running car and very dependable. Plus you can fit one person in your front seat and 3 in the back with enough seat belts for everyone. I like factory items on an Acura to keep it classy, however, I did spice up my TSX up with some custom wheels, black and chrome. They go great with the car and makes it look like a combination of sport and luxury. However, I have had an issue with the navigation system draining too much battery causing my battery to go dead frequently.
Acura MDX, 2014 - Nice appearance. Very nice ride, good Continental tires. Comfortable driver and passenger seats. Both are adjustable. Telescoping steering wheel. Excellent gas mileage, 32 mpg hwy. Good forward and rear visibility. Easy driving controls on steering wheel. Good rear view camera. Good road map and GPS navigation. Adequate mobile communication system. However, complicated destination setup and manual organization.
I have a 2012 Acura RDX with technology package and only 24,000+ miles on the vehicle. I financed the vehicle in May of 2015 at the end of my 3 year lease and purchased Acura Care for over $2,000 should anything go wrong with vehicle to make sure it is still under warranty. Needless to say, the positive end of the battery cable became so eroded that the cable became loose and was very thin. I have kept up with the regular maintenance but for whatever reason, the battery terminal was never serviced by the technician. The car could not start and I thought the battery was dead. I purchased an after market battery and drove it to Acura dealership on Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn, NY so they could diagnose the problem. It was determined that the cables could have been eroded by environmental factors and the battery needed replacement. Acura replaced the battery since it was still under the 4 year or 50,000 miles original warranty but they stick me with the $400 replacement cost of the battery cable since it is not covered under the original warranty nor under Acura Care. I find this outrageous, since a premium vehicle should not have its cable corroded in less than 4 years. I told the Customer Service case manager that I also have a 2006 Toyota Rav 4 with under 47,000 miles and have never had any issue with the battery cable. They keep referring to environmental factors as a result of the corrosion and therefore not covered since that is not a defect in the cable itself. The car is driven in Brooklyn over 95% of the time with a few trips to CT and 2 trips to Montreal, Canada. The cost of a new premium car, Acura Care for $2000+ and now $400 for battery cable replacement for a vehicle that is not 4 years old yet. Please advise if anyone else has this issue with Acura. They should be held liable for inferior accessories.
Acura has cars and SUVs. The cars range from sporty to convenient. My husband and I both drive Acura. My Integra is very spacious and comfortable. I have fit 4 people and a car seat in my Integra, and everyone had enough room to move around. There was wiggle room, enough leg space which is very important especially when traveling. I love all the features the car has. I also love how safe I feel in the car, considering I have a newborn child. My Integra is very personal. With it being a new car, I can set my phone up through Bluetooth and answer calls in the car, through the speakers, which is very important to me, be wise of work, but also safer.
I took my Acura MDX 2011 for its 1st service in Bellevue dealership. They checked and took the car into the service area. When they gave me the car back after service, there was a big windshield crack. When I asked, they said this commonly happens many times and my service manager will have to see and approve for the replacement. After 2 days, the service manager said that it happened before leaving the car for service. The guys said they did not notice it when leaving the car and noticed it after the car wash. This service manager is very rude - I cant replace it; it’s all your fault, he was asking me to claim insurance for this and saying thats what insurance is there for. When I said I will complain to the Acura Company, he said, Nothing is going to happen, do whatever you want. When I asked him to see the cameras, how it was before, he said, I dont have the time for all of this, and hung up the phone. I am thinking of going to a lawyer to handle this with that rude guy.
Please be accurate with my statement? Absolutely. I purchased a 2005 Acura Rl, 4 recalls, the FAKE leather after 3 years had peeled and separated on the seats, arm rests on a $45,000 vehicle! The plastic door handles have broken causing for the whole door rest to be required to be replaced just to fix the handles. The cd radio hasnt worked since 2006. I also have a 2009 Acura rdx which also the radio doesnt work, just laughable $35,000 vehicle. You hear everything going on inside and outside of it, from screws to air. You hear it all. Im so done with Acura. My feelings were already hurt when they took the Legend name plate away in the USA. I am so, so disappointed and Lexus will be my new friend.
I purchased an Acura MDX on 4/4/2019 and purchased an extended warranty for it, which is supposed to provide coverage for electrical and mechanical failures in the car. In 2020, we notified our local Acura Dealer (Pleasanton, CA) about an issue we were experiencing. Whenever we remote started the car, the heated seats would no longer operate about 50% of the time. We took videos of this occurring, and the dealer was able to duplicate the problem. They said it was an issue that needed to be addressed by the corporate office, as there was nothing the dealer could do.I have spent the last two years going back and forth with Acura over this issue, and the matter remains unresolved. At first they said it was operating normally when it did this. They also said they hadn’t heard of this issue before. An internet search revealed numerous online complaints from other customers about this exact same issue. There’s even a service bulletin put out my Acura about this in August, 2017. Bulletin number BTS 161203 Version 3. It states that the front seat heater control unit was suspected to be the culprit.Acura has refused to fix this issue, so I requested a refund for our extended warranty, which we paid $2695 for. We are experiencing a mechanical/electrical failure of the heated seats to work properly, and Acura has refused to fix the problem. Therefore, we would like a refund for the extended warranty, which was purchased entirely for problems like this.
NSX, MDX, RDX, TLX, ILX, RLX, are all some models of Acura. This brand offers SUVs and Sedans. They range from colors of blue black white and grey. This car also has wifi capabilities and has Sirius XM radio. The car has 4 seats and 4 doors. It can carry 4 passengers maximum and trunk room for additional things.
I have been giving business to Acura since 2010 and I bought one TL, leased TL/RLX. You could say that I was a loyal Acura customer. Least as I had expected, Acura stole my money and screws me up. When I was leasing the 2014 RXL I signed out auto-payment via my checking account; for fear of continuing charges from my checking account. I asked my bank (Citibank) to stop the auto payment in November, 2015 and I had been sending checks every month since until I traded the 2014 RXL to 2016 RLX in May, 2016 in Acura of Westchester and as usual, the dealer pays off the remain value and I signed a new lease with Westchester Acura. So I thought, and you will think as well, that the 2014 RLX car is left behind me. Lo and behold, in July 2018, I received a letter both from Acura Financial services and collection agency charging me $1651.98. When I first called Acura Financial service, a man with British accent told me that I did not pay the last month payment (which is strange, even it were true that I did not pay the last payment, it would only be $825.99, not $1651.98). When I called them back again from my vocation on 07/31/18, Acura financial told me a totally different story -- Because Acura overcharged me 3 months (twice of $825.99), I called my bank and the bank reversed the overcharge. Now Acura wants me to pay extra money, when in fact that the dealer had already bought off the older car and I am under new lease over 2 years! Acura had overcharged me more than 3 months and only month even charged me 3 TIMES! That is stealing because by contract, I only authorized Acura to charge me once a month! Not only that Acura lying to me by saying that they had been trying to contact me during the past 2 years, which is the biggest lie in the world -- because I have never received any mail/call regarding the 2014 RLX until July, 2018 and I have been paying the monthly payment of the 2016 RLX every month. I called Westchester Acura and spoke with the General Manager who was angry as well and states that he will contact Acura Financial Services in the morning. Regardless what outcome it will be, I have lost trust and confidence towards Acura and would like to share this experience with you guys, especially the potential buyers -- stay away from Acura unless you want to be screwed up and potentially have your credit scores affected negatively and being bullied and discriminated like this! I plan to go to court if this matter is not resolved. Watch out giving business to Acura! Watch your wallet because Acura may steal from you like what they did to me!
It serves the purpose and really is all that is needed. It is stylish and yet passes safety tests. The car steers well and is smooth on the road. It has a lot of extras on the body and inside. I feel proud to drive it. Sometimes I just get in it and drive just for the pleasure it provides. It is leather on the inside and has a stylish sunroof. Also there are a lot of ways it can be personalized from top to bottom. It can come in several colors and personal choices. The tires can be upgraded along with the stereo system. There are lots of room with a total of five people. The belts and the seats are comfortable. It sits well and has lots of room upfront as well as in the rear.
Acura has pretty attractive and sporty models that run pretty well and not too costly. They have sleek bodies and good performance. Overall I am happy with the look and appearance of the vehicle. Upgrades are standard like other brands. The car can be nice to drive with no upgrades but if fully stocked it is a sweet ride. It has a roomy interior and overall comfy compared to other cars and other car brands, not the largest space but definitely enough for a person. Have not had any bad experiences with them. Definitely may recommend for friends shopping for a car.
One of the best cars around. Acura offers one the most comfortable, spacious, and trendy car Ive seen on the market. Its models remind me of body builders, strong and muscular. Buff appearance and very durable. It appeals to both genders with its sporty models. The mid size sedans can be compared to many luxury cars by being both spacious and appealing to the eye. An Acura can fit an average size family comfortably. I personally have driven the car holding 5 passengers with no problem or space issues. There are many options for upgrading and giving your Acura a personal touch. LED lights are my personal favorite. You can also add things like all weather floor mats and automatic car start for reasonable prices.
The power in the 2020 MDX Hybrid Advance is amazing, especially the torque at a start or moving onto a freeway. The Comfort Mode makes the ride smooth, but putting it into Sport mode and this car can move! The Expresso interior is beautiful and the interior is quiet. In fact, trying out other luxury SUVs, this MDX Hybrid is the most quiet. Great gas mileage. Only $1600 more for the Hybrid over the regular MDX Advance. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this car.
I purchased a 2008 Acura TL new. The car was well maintained and garage stored. Within several years the perforated leather seats began to split. I had to have them replaced. The car was in great condition otherwise so I spent the money to replace them. A couple years later I noticed a crack on the right side of the dash. The crack grew and has expanded to multiple cracks. I have never experienced this with a car and would certainly not expect it from a brand known for quality and luxury yet when I did an internet search I discovered that it is a common problem with the Acura. Buyer beware.
TL I just bought a few days ago, but when I drive home the next day was found to have oil and water fluid drop on the ground. The problem; How do you sell defective car to me, it makes me very angry. I work busy, but also the release time to service with you pull, a push, everyone wants to escape. How to dont hide when pay.
I bought the Acura MDX 2014 three months ago, the LED tail light does not work. I took it to the Cerritos Acura dealer for repair (2 times) and they told me the warranty is void because I have one very minor scratch at the light. DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE.... HONDA is trying to void your warranty and they wont admitted it is engineering problem.
I have very little negative feedback. My overall experience with this car has been--the best car I have ever owned. All cars come with technical issues. Now kudos to whoever invents a car that does not have issues ever. However, the only things that I experienced with my car were that the 1. Acura TSX 2004 (red, tan interior, v-tec engine) was that it was made with the starter near the engine. According to my trusted mechanic, he says that this cars positioning of the starter as being irregular. This causes the starter to malfunction more than other cars whose starter was not made in the same location. 2. A coil in the engine needed to be replaced. Other than that, I have had no other issues that were not issues related to normal wear and tear. I drive 100+ miles a day for work. This has been a very trusty car. Im sad to have to sell it for a car with a wee bit less mileage. Ill definitely miss Red. (Yes, I do name my cars.)
Absolutely terrible experience at Mission Viejo Acura. I was told that I can do all the paperwork for a lease online/remotely and only after they ran my credit did they tell me and my co-signer (who lives 400 miles away) that we would have to come into the dealership to sign the paperwork and take delivery. This during a pandemic where every dealership delivers cars to peoples homes. I dont understand the ridiculousness of this experience. How is this okay???
The car vibrates at any speed. I have had it to the dealer three times due to the vibrations. All engine mounts were replaced as apparently the vibrations from the VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) are so excessive that hydraulic/electronic motor mounts had to be installed to mitigate the vibrations when the engine goes from 6 cylinders to 3. Even when the mounts were replaced there remains a distinct vibration in the steering wheel. Prior to the replacement passengers felt the vibration in their seat. Now its an annoying vibration in the steering wheel. One more time back to a dealer and if the ride doesnt improve, my only recourse seems to be the lemon law. If youre looking for a smooth driving sedan, stay far away from this thing.
I have a 2010 MDX with Parchment leather seats. The leather is lighter than my last MDX (which was also Parchment leather seats) and picks up dye from clothing and requires cleaning constantly. It is also impossible to get them completely clean. Service Dept has no answer and was trying to blame me, I think its a defect and the seats should have a better quality leather so this stops happening. This is an Acura!
When I met my husband, he was driving an Acura TL. We used that car for a long time. It was gorgeous outside. The inside was spacious and comfortable and fit two childrens car seats comfortably. We decided we wanted more room in the trunk area because we have to take a lot of kid gear and suitcases when we travel. We got the Acura MDX. I drive it. Its an SUV, but its boxy squared off looking. Its more rounded and soft looking like a car. I have mine in a burgundy red. Inside is like a camel tan color leather seats. It has very tinted windows. The built in navigation is really nice. The navigation screen and radio screen is huge and very easy to operate. I like that I can control the radio with the buttons on the steering wheel. There is a third row that folds down. I keep it permanently folded down because we only have two kids. It is easy to fit in two car seats in the second row and would be easy to fit three. On the rare occasion that we do have the third row up it has sat three full sized adults in the third row comfortably. There is also a ton of room in the trunk. When I had to have my car serviced last month we got a loaner car. They gave us the Acura RDX. Its nice, but not quite as nice as the MDX and feels really cramped in comparison inside.
This car brand offers the sporty model (ILX), the mid-size sedan model (TLX), the larger sedan (RX), the two SUVs (MDX and RDX), and an expensive sports car (NSX). All the cars are tastefully designed inside and out. The Acura brand provides in their standard cars what most others charge as extra. All the cars have leather seats that are very comfortable and superior handling. Most of the upgrades were nice to have options. The description was good enough to understand what Id be getting if I opted for some of the personalized options. Passenger capacity in all Acura models is as expected. Sedans comfortably fit 4 people and the SUVs can fit one more.
We purchased a new Acura TLX from Acura of Tempe. We took delivery of the first car and it had factory damaged paint. They exchanged it for a second TLX and it also had factory damaged paint. The dealer has been a nightmare. They took the car back to have it repaired! A brand new car. We purchased it a month ago and have still not taken possession of it. Acura Client Relations is a misnomer. We have purchased several Acuras over the years and many Hondas. I thought Acura was a quality vehicle, but I cannot say that any more. Their quality control appears to be non-existent. This has been the worse car purchase we have ever made.
I bought a 2008 MDX new and have had battery problems since the first year. It has died on us so many times that Ive bought a charger that we keep in the back to jump it since it happens so often at any place such as the airport, work, or at home. Ive taken it to Acura twice. They say it checks out fine and wouldnt replace the battery for me so I bought a new one. It did slightly better for a short time - two weeks. Then it started dying again. We always leave the dome lights off but if you dont drive it for a few days, or listen to the radio for an hour with the car not running the battery will die. Something is draining the system but the Acura service department while nice seems to be in denial of a problem that is rather common with their vehicles. The nearest dealer to us is 45 minutes away so dropping it off all the time is an inconvenience.Weve had problems with the stereo. We are on our third new head unit, and several different memory setting problems that were covered under the warranty. I was ready to get rid of it after the second year. It is my wifes first new vehicle and she wanted to keep it for at least 10 but I’m hoping to talk her into getting rid of it this next week. The MDX has a nice quiet smooth ride but everything else weve dealt with leaves me to advise you to buy a Lexus, Audi, Volvo, etc. We were going to give this MDX to my father-in-law when we got a new vehicle but I wouldnt want him to be stranded with a dead battery or deal with more issues Ive been reading about in the forums. Our MDX only has 59,000 miles.
I have a 2010 Acura CSX. Couple years ago, we saw some white spots on top panel and back door panel. This year I found spots become very big, and much more white spots showed. I went to dealer at Ottawa Camco Acura, and I was told there are many cars with paint issue. Acura manufacturer reduce paint thickness to save cost. Very thin layer of coat was slowly disappear. The quote to repair panels are over 1800$. I went to other body shop, and I was told repair fee is around 900$. I called Acura customer service, and I was told the paint issue is normal. I was told Acura will equally split repair cost with me. I think it is totally quality issue, and Acura should pay all cost. Acura is a prime car, and service fee is super high. I bought Acura car, because I thought Acura is a high quality car. But I am very disappointed. I think I made mistake to buy a car from Acura.
There were lots of cars to choose from. Most of the cars were Acura or Toyota and not much else. Would have liked other choices. Maybe a Ford or a Chevy if that one didnt worked out. Acura looks really cool and girls like it a lot. They want to make sure you buy a car that makes you look Iike a big shot and not a total jerk. You cant get red because that is a stupid color for a car. Acura was really basic and didnt have any features to speak about. That kind of drove me nuts because I had no idea what the rest of the car was a crappy hatchback. But there was plenty of room for my stuff and for kid and wife. The only reason that I carry stuff is because of the kid and the reason that it means so much is that.
Acura RDX 2019. I bought my RDX in Aug 2019. The brakes immediately were squeaking. I thought because they were new it had to be broken into. At 4000 miles I couldnt take it anymore bought to acura and they replaced the pads and rotors. A month into it here I am again. Now they claim its a known issue and it cannot be fixed. How can a 40000 + car not be fixed. They expect me to drive this car with these embarrassing brakes making noises. Shame on acura. They are a disgrace. I have always had a Lexus should of never switched. Worst mistake in my life. Acura cannot shine their shoes.
Its been about 3 weeks now and my car battery drains over night. I have already purchased 2 batteries and have checked my alternator and its neither. Theres nothing on that I can see and when I looked online this was a very common problem with Acuras! If I would have know I would of never purchased. Very disappointed!! Took car to dealership and they couldnt find anything wrong and again they said thats all they see with these Acuras!!! And their unknown causes!!
The Acura RSX model was definitely a nice vehicle for me. It got me to where I needed to go. And was a nice, fast, smooth ride, but not great in cold weather at all. I loved how it had cruise control for smooth, reliable, fun ride. The stereo was nice. Almost sounded like I had a system in it but it was generally just stock. All and all the heating was nice. You could change it for passenger and back seating. There was enough space as I didnt really have anyone riding passenger. However, not enough leg room for anyone over 57 in height. So I am only satisfied, not super happy about that. Nevertheless, it is sleek... Ultimately got so many compliments while driving it by random people in public places. Was quite impressed by how many people said I looked hot in it.
I have a 2014 Acura MDX that I bought brand new in February 2014. Test drive was fine but after about 1,000 miles I began to notice a grinding sounds coming from the front of the vehicle that sounds tied into the transmission as the grinding changes as it shifts through the gears. I called customer service 6 times leaving messages for a rep to call. When I do get a call back I am told they will have a manager contact me which never happens. How many times should a customer call before an issue can be resolved?
Acura has various models such as Acura Integra, Acura TDX, and Acura MDX. The Acura TDX is a midsize sedan with midsize tinted windows, the Acura TDX is comparable to an crossover SUV and Acura Integra is ranked as top 37 best cars for teenagers and youth. My car has a nice bumper and strong tires. Upgrade are available, like better tires or a generally better version of the cars. It can be re-painted to another colour and the gas tank can be replaced. It can occupy as large as a family of five to a single individual. It is very spacious and airy. Has good air conditioners. Seat belts are provided for all also at the back. It is affordable and distinct.
My family has been a loyal Honda customer for 30+ years and 6+ Honda cars. Weve loved their reliability and dependability. That being said, it is unfortunate that I have had a negative experience with most my recent vehicle. I drive a certified pre-owned 2012 Acura TL Tech Package, which I purchased in 2014. Since the purchase, the car has driven very well, showing no indication of any issues. Though I purchased this vehicle in a metroplex, I live in a rural area. I drive 60 miles round-trip to and from work. Last Wednesday, while driving on a rural highway between offices, the car lost all power without any warning traveling at 75mph. The RPM dial went crazy, and then the check engine lights flickered (check charge system, check ABS, check VSA). Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. I let it run, hoping it would stay on until I could get assistance. After about 5 minutes, it shut down completely. I was stranded in between 2 small towns on a rural highway with spotty cell phone coverage plus the inconvenience of missing work. I could not restart the car—absolutely no lights came on. Thankfully, I was able to contact a tow service to tow the car back to my house (28 miles away). I assumed the battery was the issue and replaced it, which worked for 5 minutes before it was completely drained. I live 350 miles from the nearest Acura dealer, so I had to tow it there. When I got it to Acura on Saturday, they ran diagnostics on the car and determined it was a faulty alternator, covered by my extended warranty and fixed the problem. My main concern with this situation is that there was no warning whatsoever to alert me of a problem. Had I been alerted, I would have acted proactively to prevent this from occurring, especially since I live so far from a dealer. I can only imagine how much worse this could have been had it happened in the middle of the night in this rural area, or if this happened on a 5-lane highway in a big city during the morning or evening commute. When I mentioned the lack of warning to the Acura service guy, he said, “Sometimes there is no warning on these things.” That is a problem. There should always be some form of warning before a relatively new vehicle is malfunctioning. Acura needs to determine why their vehicles are not warning the drivers of potential repairs for the safety of its drivers and all other drivers.
I purchased a 2019 Acura RDX. EPA standards, it should receive 22 city/27 highway. I have curtailed my driving to TRY and get anything higher than 22 and am not able to achieve it. My commute is 30% city and 70% free traveling highway, so I should easily be able to consistently achieve 22. Currently, sitting at 20. I have read a ton of reviews and anyone that pays attention is complaining about the same misrepresentation of the MPG. Also, the Android Auto was a part of my sales pitch in November 2018. Its mid-January 2019 and its still not released.
Acura has many different styles of which I chose one that was underrated and I was correct about the style being underrated. I was luckily judging by the quality. This car has a great design on the steering wheel as well as fast working brakes which lead to a safe drive and this makes me feel safer at night or plain daylight. The upgrade is as amazing as rescuing a cow from a trapped low quality fence. It is always an amazing thing to look forward towards when it comes to cars. Plus this vehicle can hold up to 5 people at once. It can hold more if squeezed in or even if little children were to be put in.
Seems that I have purchased a vehicle with a bad history of torque converters and I am now one of those victims. Dissatisfied that I did not do homework on this brand and model. Me bad. Just have to say that when after a year not one service place knew what I was talking about, I should have gotten online. Went to an Acura dealer and got a clean bill of health one month. The under body vibrates and grinds a noise at certain speeds which has not been consistent, now the engine does not want to go as if transmission is not getting power and that is not consistent yet. Here I bragged about this car and seems that Acura needs to make a count on how many MDXes have this problem. Husband bought this for me and I wanted to get my own in the summer, now I will find the heated seats in another brand!
Acura RL is a reliable car, fully equipped, great horsepower, all the bells and whistles, low maintenance costs, luxuriously on the inside and beautiful on the outside.
I own a 2015 Acura RDX AWD with technology package. It features a fine six cylinder engine with six speed automatic transmission. It has been totally reliable, and dealership has been responsive to my needs.
My family has purchased almost 10 new Acura products in the last 14 years, all new. My mother bought 2013 Acura ILX for $28k. Only has 15k miles. Has had 3 batteries! Acura says car must be driven 20 mile a week or battery dies! Offered $12k trade!
I recently purchased a new 2019 Acura RDX a-spec and have been experiencing continuous issues and malfunctions with the infotainment system. Issues include system freezing, Calls not ending, unable to access navigation or apple car play, System remains on (sometimes all day) when car is shut off. System will shut off while driving and lock out of all functions. Loud screeching over speakers at random. Unable to adjust volume with steering wheel controls, etc. Several of these things I was able to document on video. I was instructed by the service manager to disconnect the battery and allow car to sit for 10-15 min before reconnecting. This sometimes resolves for a short period before the issues resurface again. Not to mention, a step that no owner of a brand new luxury brand vehicle should have to do. I recently took my car into Acura for service and they ended up keeping the car for 2 days to try and troubleshoot the issues. This is what the Service Rep sent me: Hey Tony, I got word back from my area rep that he has to cross reference the data with the field engineer to see if they feel like changing the infotainment system will address the concern or not. Some of the symptoms are known issues but have not had a fix developed yet, but we want to be sure we exhaust all options. After all that, they were unable to fix or replace anything. I was told that Acura is working on future software updates that they can push out to everyone, but for the time being, there is nothing that I can do. I feel like I bought a lemon that is probably dropping tremendously in value due to these ongoing issues. I would strongly avoid purchasing an Acura RDX and any other Acura with the same Infotainment platform. Acura RDX Owner Tony **
I purchased Acura Care for my Acura MDX. The engine failed and it took 76 days to replace. Acura Care attempted to put a 60,000 mile engine back in my vehicle but I prevented it. They finally had the Walser Acura dealership install factory parts, but they delayed the process for two months. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service, care, and professionalism offered throughout this experience. IF I would have signed a forever discharge release, they would have made my car payment while it was in the shop. Since I would not sign, they withdrew their goodwill gesture. Acura, American Honda, Acura Care and the Walser Acura dealership left me very disappointed that a luxury automobile company would treat their customer in such a manner. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. I would not recommend purchasing Acura Care for your next purchase if you choose to take your chances with an Acura.
Many models to choose and I liked the way the car moved on the road because the way it drove was colorful and bright and lovely and swerve so really today I will drive to work forever. So many features of this car to deal with. It was so cool to put the windows down and ride around in the fancy car with the leather seats and carpeting to dress up the fur. Got to upgrade all elements with leather seats and heaters and sunroof and satellite radio and automatic windows and trunk space and tires. You can fit so many people in the car. It is almost like you are going to the zoo and take your whole family.
Do not try to purchase a vehicle from this Dealership…. Very shady, unethical business practices!!!! I came in to purchase a vehicle for my daughter. Found her dream vehicle, took it for a test drive, made an offer on it, they accepted the offer, gave them a down payment of $1000, as per their request, received a fully executed purchase agreement signed off by David ** (Finance Mgr). My daughter wanted to finance it on her own in which they tried to get for her. After a few days I said forget it. I will just pay cash for the vehicle. I asked if I could come pick on Friday. They pushed me off until Monday. When I called on Monday they said, Let’s try for Tuesday. On Tuesday I received a call from the salesperson, who stated, oops they sold the vehicle to somebody else. How can they sell the vehicle to somebody else when I had a purchase agreement, money down on it…I immediately called the general manager, John ** and left several voicemail and written messages for him, three days in a row… Not even a courtesy call back. They still have my $1000 downpayment… Also they tried to sell me a car with 15,000 more miles on it in horrible condition, different color... Saying it would be an even trade. Not even close. Stay as far away from this place as you can. There are other reputable Acura dealers that are so much more professional and ethical and do the right things for their customers. I will be putting in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as also writing a letter to the corporate office of Acura/Honda to express my opinion and our Attorney may be getting involved to seek legal recourse… I do not understand how in this day and age something like this could have happened… Nobody had an excuse for it. They just said the vehicle was sold…. Stay away!!!
During the week of January 16-January 19, 2012, my vehicle was taken to Acura of Brooklyn on 2722 Nostrand Avenue for an oil change. While there, the service adviser informed me the rear brakes of my 2006 MDX needed to be replaced and I consented to the service. On Sunday, 1/23/12, as we were on our way back to Brooklyn from Boston, Massachusetts, my husband and I heard an unusual sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. We immediately called Acura of Brooklyn to report the problem and they advised us to go to the nearest Acura service station in Boston. When we arrived to Acura in Boston, the service department was closed. A representative from Acura of Brooklyn then advised us to bring our vehicle in the next day so that the source of the problem can be determined. As we proceeded to drive home to Brooklyn, the front end noise became progressively worse and the wheel began to shake excessively. This occurred approximately 60 miles south of Brooklyn in Connecticut. Suddenly and without warning as we were driving on the highway, our front right wheel came completely off, nuts and all. Needless to say, my 10 year old daughter, my husband and I were shaken up by this incident. We called a tow truck company and our vehicle was taken directly to our house because Acura of Brooklyn was closed. Early the next day, a service technician from Acura of Brooklyn came to our house to assess the damage and the vehicle was immediately taken to be repaired at their service station and we were given a loaner car. After the work was completed, my husband asked for a copy of the work order to see what damage had occurred and if and what parts, were replaced. It was never sent to our house or given to us. A routine follow up customer service call was received 3 days later and I explained my dissatisfaction with the way the incident was handled and the disregard and inconsiderate behavior of the Acura staff. The customer service representative assured me that the message would be relayed to the manager and someone would be contacting me soon. No one did.In March 2012, my vehicle was taken for a routine oil change and I was told that the front brakes would be in need of replacement at my next visit. Today, Friday, May 11, 2012, I took my car in to Acura of Brooklyn for a routine oil change, to replace the front brakes as instructed and also to report a knocking sound that I was hearing from the front end where the damage occurred when the left wheel had come off back in 1/2012. Not only was I told by **, the service adviser, that my front brakes no longer needed to be replaced but now my left and right wheel bearings needed to be replaced and my axles as well. Although puzzled by this new information, I immediately asked if it is impossible that the damage was done when my wheel came off on the highway. I was told no that this is due to the normal wear and tear and also because of my high mileage. The quote given for the repair was very high, even at the discounted price given by **.I asked to speak to ** manager, ** who was very hostile and inconsiderate from the beginning of our discussion. In no uncertain words, ** informed me that he was not present when the incident occurred in 1/2012 and that our near death experience was irrelevant to him. I reminded Mark that my husband, my daughter and I could have died when my husband lost control of the vehicle due to the negligence of his mechanic, who failed to tighten the nuts of the wheel. He showed total disregard and told me that if I dont want to pay the money to have the service done, I should pick up my vehicle. I was disgusted by his behavior but I told him I would call back once a decision was made.Approximately 30 minutes later, I reluctantly called ** back to inform him that since my vehicle is a necessity, the service work should be done but I will be filing a formal complaint. He informed me that this is really not worth it and he does not need the money that bad. He also told me that I should pick up my vehicle if I was not comfortable with the work that is being done. I told him that the purpose of my call is to have the work done and he cannot refuse to provide service to my vehicle. Since ** behavior was upsetting, I asked to speak to his supervisor but he informed me that ** would not be back until Monday. He then hung up the phone. This lack of consideration, disregard and poor customer service and relations is totally unacceptable and prompted my decision to file this complaint.
BUYER BEWARE! I bought the 2019 RDX about 5 months ago and just brought it back to the dealer for the 3rd time for the same electrical problem. Apparently I found out today that Acura was well aware of the situation however, let the dealers sell the cars with this defect. The dealer and Acura, who dealing with is a nightmare (Acura) stated a patch to the software had to be created to stop the problem. So why would they sell a car that they knew had a defect? So have a case open with Acura. I dont even want the IT anymore and will be bringing this to the attention of the WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News so that we can make this misrepresentation known to the public (in Connecticut) anyways. There were 7 other RDXs in the lot waiting to get repaired - I dont know if it is for the same reason but what does that tell you when you see 7 2019 cars needing to be repaired. Dont say you have not been warned. This is totally unacceptable and the customer service is horrible from Acura. My case manager does not return calls and when I spoke with a so called supervisor at Acura she states, Well you need to deal with your case manager, I dont do that. So what exactly does a supervisor do? This is a nightmare!
I have several complaints about Acura and to be more specific, both Acura of Bay Shore and Acura Company. I leased a RDX in 2015. They deceived me in every possible way. Before I went to Acura I had a lease through Nissan and I had 5 months left on that lease. Allison, the sales rep, repeatedly told me that they would pay the 5 months I had on my previous lease as part of the deal. Needless to say, they added the amount of those 5 months to the new lease. The day I sign the contract I was in a hurry and I did not want to go through the whole process and I took responsibility and I am paying for what they told me they would do.One of the selling points was, or is, that Every time you bring your vehicle for service we will wash it for you. Well give you a free car wash every time. When I brought the truck for the first service, I dropped it in the morning around 8am. I did not hear from them until I called around 3:00pm. They said it would be ready in 45 min. When I received the truck it had noticeably some drops of water and all the dirt that it came with when I drop it. So I called the service person. When I showed to him the quality of the job done, he offered to take it back to wash it. Once again, they did not deliver on their promise and deceive me again. And the most recent complaint, which is no fault of Acura of Bay Shore but Acura as a Company, is that due to the recall on the Takata airbag used on my Acura RDX, I have been trying to reach Acura to work with me. My RDX has been parked for a month now and will be until the dealership receives the parts to replace which could be 3 month or a year, according to service manager. In the meantime, they provided me with a rental, a Kia Sedona. I have tried to get a different car, something comparable to what I am paying for. It hurts to pay $475.00 a month and drive a $200.00 dollar a month truck. After one month the car rental place contracted by Acura claims that, they dont have any SUVs available. I have called the Acura Relations Department to negotiate my monthly payments, to lower or stop for the time I am not using the car. They told me they cannot do anything for me and I am to fulfill the contract by paying my monthly lease of $475.00 for something I cant use. I have not been late with any payments since I entered into this contract with Acura. I have fulfill my obligation but ACURA HAS FAIL TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE CAR. I dont expect to resolve this issues in my favor at this point. I just hope that whoever is reading this THINKS TWICE before dealing with Acura Company.
After doing a lot of research and test-driving Lexus, Mercedes, Subaru, Nissan and others, I finally bought an Acura-RDX and realized immediately after buying the car that the famous Honda Company/Acura suppressed the fact that this RDX didnt have trunk/hatch release key inside the car. Unless I go near the car with key in-hand and open the trunk door. I called Acura customer service and a guy told that Dont worry. We know that. Next year models will have the trunk release key inside the car. We cant do anything for you and he hung up. I was totally disappointed with this elusive answer. Why Honda deliberately suppressed this fact? Deceiving the customer is not good at all. I never buy any Honda car or Acura car. Though expensive, I should have bought Lexus SUV with better options than Acura RDX or MDX.
There are different type of brands, small, medium, big and a variety of colors and options. Everyone can find what they are looking for for a decent price. The car was white with a lot of features like ac, automatic, tinting on the window, leather seats, huge mirrors, reclinable seats. It was really easy to use and the manual helped with any issues. Its a very good car for a modest family with kids. The car seat were really comfortable, even for a long drive, lots of legroom for passengers and easy access with the 4 doors.
Acura offers sedans (large and smaller sizes), 2-door hatch back, and SUV models good for a range of family types and vehicle uses. Theyre mid priced luxury cars. The Acura I purchased was a sporty 2 door model with a hatchback. It had features for adjusting the handling. I thought the round headlights on the Integra looked cool, too. Acura offered a variety of trim levels. There were options for radio, CD player or 6 CD changer, upgraded speakers. Some were offered in packages, such as wheel upgrades and performance tires. Acura has auto types equipped for 2-6 passengers. You can select the car that fits your needs the best, from sport models to SUVs. I was single when I purchased my sport model.
Love the Acura deluxe. The car is beautiful and also has a perfect shine to it. I love the black color interior. Its perfect to go to the beach and does not get wet very easily. Its very big and has a perfect warm seat. It is perfect if you have kids, and the kids and love ones love it. Also the deal I have made for this car is perfect. Did not pay that much. The best machine and engine. The best car for me.
The brakes in my brand new RDX have been squeaking since about a month into owning the car. It started happening when the weather got cold. The dealer replaced the rotors and brake pads but the noise is still there. Now Im told by the dealer and Acura Corporate that theres nothing they can do. What? How can that be? This is a $50,000 car and it sounds like a NYC Bus or an old beat up car. Its embarrassing. Apparently this has been an issue for a couple of years and had I known it I would NEVER have bought this car. How do you tell people who spend so much money that you cant fix squeaky brakes! Shame on Acura.
Just purchased the 2022 Acura mdx advance, has issues with body panels lining up properly, tried the have dealer fix it 3x with no success. Contacted the acura motor company customer service. They said they cant do anything to help with body panel issue, mdx cost 63k. For that amount I expected better service from acura and dealership. Dealer said thats the way it is, we cant fix the body panel alignment issues (really said I heard that from the dealer). We contacted the acura customer service and was told thats the way it is, I have to live with the body panel alignment issues front of the vehicle. On top of that the customer service spokeperson hung up on me. I guess thats what I get for spending $63,000 dollars on the poor looking 2022 acura mdx.. Never recommend acura to anybody ever for their poor service and cant fix their own product. Dont buy this vehicle and also on Youtube they also said 2022 mdx has body panel alignment issues, I should of listen to them and stayed away from this 2022 acura mdx, like a child put together. Hope this helps you out, thanks for reading my review....
I have owed 8 Hondas/Acuras in the last 30 years. This time my 2011 MDX is burning oil so I called Acura. They said I was under the mileage needed to have to rings and engine rebuilt but my time had expired so TOO BAD. I asked how they contacted me about this problem as they knew about the other 7 cars I owned. They said, Oh we contacted you. I asked how since they had my email, phone number and home address. They could not verify they sent anything. They could not even tell me how they contacted me. So Im going to put on a sandwich board above my car saying I got screwed by Honda/Acura. Ask me how. If this is customer service I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.
Called Acura when I got flat tire this morning. It is now 3 hours later they just arrived. There was no spare in car. No Acura emergency service like other brands such as Mercedes and Lexus. Very little help for person who does not know how to handle the problem. We own three Acuras. Never again will I buy one. With Mercedes or Lexus you call and they come get you and car. They repair. None of this arguing for a tow truck. No need for a million explanations. They just lost my family’s business. What a shame.
Overall love the Acura TSX. V6 is great. Mechanically any issues have been minor, mostly electrical. But the finish isnt holding up as well as I would hope or expect from Acura. Had peeling paint issues with a prior Honda product as well (Accord).
2012 Acura TL Power steering fails. From the airbag recall to the transmission recall I can handle. Now the fact that my power steering suddenly seizes and leaves me in the middle of an intersection with a non functional vehicle I cannot handle. The answer? Pay to have the EPS replaced. Now, going on blogs this is a COMMON issue and should be a recall warranty issue! Not self pay. Someone is going to die until Acura/Honda notices. Its not right. I have been a Honda or Acura owner for years. I will tell you, this will be my last. It is dangerous and someone will die then they might listen.
I drive a lot. My salesperson knew this and I have purchase 5 cars from the same dealership in the past 4 years. I have always either purchased Hondas or Acuras. All from Wier Canyon Honda and Acura, Yorba Linda, CA. I purchased very recently a 2014 Acura MDX. My salesperson failed to let me know that the vehicle does not have a spare tire. I could not believe it when I found out. A tire inflator kit in the back of the vehicle will not help me if I have a blowout out on the 5 freeway between LA and Stockton. I will never purchase another Acura ever!!! The dealership told me they would only charge me $450.00 a spare tire kit instead of the normal $650.00 they normally charge. Really after 5 cars from Acura. I dont think so!!
Our 2007 MDX was taken in for A/C evaluation. The A/C was repaired but then we were given a list of other items that needed attention: Drive Belt (glazing and cracking), Engine Coolant Dirty, Power Steering Leaking and required new pump, right front stabilizer Links needed replacing. Plus all fluids low and dirty including the transmission and brake fluid. After picking up the vehicle with just A/C service, I immediately drove it over to a reputable repair service that is AAA approved. The only item that would need to be replaced within the next 10K miles or so was the right front stabilizer Links. The mechanic showed us the power steering = no leak, the fluids = clean and full, and the drive belt was perfect. How do dealers get away with this?
I own a 2015 Acura MDX that is the months old and it has less than 4000 miles. I was driving down the highway early morning when suddenly I heard a loud boom (sounded like a shotgun). I looked around to see if someone had a flat tire but there were no other cars in sight. All of a sudden I heard loud wind noise and felt pieces of glass all over me. I even suffered some scratches on my hand and on my head. Thats when I realized that my sunroof had exploded. There were no other vehicles in sight that could have caused the damage plus the moonroof had exploded upwards. I have contacted several dealers, also called Acura customer relations but no luck. Ive find some research to find out that Acuras have had this issue on most of their vehicles. Acura doesnt want to assume any liability and wont pay for the repairs.
Acura offers affordable luxury models in sedans and crossovers. The TL, the RDX are some of the more popular models they offer. I bought the TSX, which isnt as popular but handles well, came with the standard Acura warranty, spacious interior, and climate control seating. The appearance is sporty. Something that would turn heads on a crowded street. The exterior is smoke grey with a black leather interior. Very impressive. The features are top notch, blue tooth link to cell phone, climate control seating, back up camera, etc. My car seats up to 5 adults comfortably. Some of the other models, in particular the RDX and some Sport Utility models can seat up to 8 adults comfortably.
I bought a new 2014 MDX AWD w/ Tech Package. 1st the Tech Package sensors stop working as soon as the temp. reaches anything beyond 103 degrees. Then, I got a pinhole leak in my radiator that Acura refused to take care of under the warranty. It turned out the design is changed to expose the radiator to the elements. Bad engineering is all I can say. Acura, I have news for you, it gets hot in Arizona and cars will encounter debris on roads. Your design should withstand both. Own up to your mistakes in designs and fix our cars.
The Acura Integra is a very nice car. I purchased it earlier in life and it was a blast. Highly recommended. I loved the interior and the exterior. The interior was very sleek. The knobs were also sleek and slim. All the features were good. I didnt like the power of the a/c though, but it was bearable. I upgraded it a lot; rims, tires, exhaust, engine, suspension, etc. The upgrades were very high end and it roared. I loved it. But, the whole car felt small. I could easily fit two passengers in the front but if I tried to put another two in the back it would be less spacious.
