Acura Integra Type S Confirmed With Honda Civic Type R Engine And A Manual Gearbox

In August last year, CarBuzz exclusively confirmed that a hotter Type S version of the Acura Integra was in the works, and now the Japanese automaker has come clean, providing us with our first look at the car. What's more, Acura has revealed what sort of engine will power it and how much power it will produce.

rnWhile the regular Integra makes use of the Honda Civic Si's 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 200 horsepower, Acura has revealed that the Type S version will be making use of a high-revving 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine "producing over 300 hp." Better yet, this will be paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. Excited yet? We are. The Civic Type R is claimed to produce 315 hp, so whether Acura will mimic that remains to be seen. As the more premium brand, we can imagine the furor that will result from the Integra Type S having less power than the Type R, so we expect that potential 15-pony deficit to be reduced by the time the production car is revealed.

If that is somehow disappointing, fear not: dyno runs have already proven that Honda has been very modest about the power output of the Civic Type R, and we suspect things will be similar for the Integra Type S.

But the Type S may yet be slower than the Type R, owing to its slightly more luxury-focused brand image, which will probably result in a little more weight as was the case between the Civic Si and the regular Integra models. Unfortunately, that's all we know about the car itself for now, but the images here, with a pre-production model covered in camouflage, confirm that we can expect some slightly more aggressive bodywork, stylish wheels with red-painted brake calipers behind them, and a beefy rear diffuser element with a triple-exit exhaust a-la Ferrari F40 and Civic Type R therein. Crucially, the Integra Type S won't have the giant wing of the Type R - at least not standard; accessories may cater to those who want one - making this a more grown-up hot hatch than the Honda.

We can't see inside, but it's not unreasonable to assume a red interior will feature as is customary.

Acura will reveal more details closer to the launch of the sporty new Integra, which Acura is expecting to hold in the summer. We can't wait.

The showroom tries to portray the brand as a true luxury car, but most salesmen seems fast-paced, with the typical gimmicky talk and cheap suits. The Service was even worse. Anytime the car would require scheduled maintenance, they always tried to upsell us on things like Automatic Transmission fluid change, stating it was very dirty (after only 8,000 miles?), despite the fact that the maintenance schedule doesnt require this fluid change until 20,000-40,000 miles. Filter changes are also their favorite, stating that theyre very dirty and its bad for the vehicle.I never got the impression that the Acura brand is synonymous with luxury, unfortunately. Just a dressed-up Honda, and this trickles down all the way to how they sell and service these vehicles. The car itself has a few, very annoying issues. For one, the front windows are extremely loose, and when opened even slightly, rattle beyond belief. Acura Service techs state this is how theyre designed, and that its normal. It pretty much renders driving around with windows lowered impossible, and from the sound of it, Acura owners have gotten used to it. After almost 3 years, were still struggling with getting used to it.The infotainment is brutally slow. If you click on Settings or any other option, it often takes 2-3 seconds for the screen to refresh and show the desired information. Having rented a BMW X5, or even a Volkswagen Touareg, the computing power of their infotainment systems is much more up-to-date and intuitive. The interface design on the infotainment touchscreen buttons is also very primitive. Like something youd find a first-grade graphic design student do. Certainly not the luxury experience theyre selling.Overall, the exterior is neat, slim, with touches of chrome here and there. The interior is also nicely done. I am surprised as to why the third-row seats do not have A/C vents (like the Honda Pilot, which sells for considerably less does). The power liftgate has failed us more than once, and the remote engine starter oftentimes just stops working, requiring me to manually disconnect the battery to reset everything. Ive given-up taking the car to the dealer for every little nuance. Driving-wise, the car is light and responds well to steering input. Power is adequate, and AWD system performs remarkably well. Despite all of this, we wont be leasing another Acura again. We feel that too many corners have been cut, and not enough attention to detail has been paid to areas that really need it to qualify this vehicle as a luxury one.

We even have pictures that we posted driving home from the dealership. On 08/31/2015 we sold the car. Here is how we got there: 08/29/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Battery tests well, but was replaced. 11/03/2011 – Battery warning light comes on. Bad cell. “Limited starts left” displayed on message center. Took car to dealer. Technician tells my wife that the battery was replaced even though it tested well. 08/09/2012 – Message on dash – “Voice account needs to be updated”. Second message on dash – “Gas cap loose”. Took car to dealer. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/04/2014 – Messages and indicators on dash – “check battery”, “check oil”, “air bag fault”, “fuel cap loose” -Took car to dealer. Battery sensor updated. Various updates and resets to electrical systems performed. 12/27/2014 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. According to work order, “sensor tests good”. Sensor replaced. 01/08/2015 – Message on dash – “check battery” -Took car to dealer. Replaced battery. 04/21/2015 – Message on dash – “Air bags may not work” - Took car to dealer. Reset message. Would I be expected to pay for repairs that clearly existed while the car was under warranty that could not be repaired? I asked the dealer to provide a letter indicating that they would be responsible to repair anything beyond the warranty period that was identified an issue within the warranty period. They refused. I was told that we should trust that they would stand by their product.Eventually I was referred to Acura client relations. My first contact was with Kristine (extension **). I asked to be called on my cell phone. She mostly left messages on my home phone. Eventually I was able to reach her. Her solution was to take the car to the dealer. I asked to escalate to her supervisor. She refused stating that she was in charge and no one else could do anything. I asked her to provide some sort of acknowledgement of the situation. She refused. Other than a fax, she only would communicate with me by phone. Eventually she admitted to having a boss. She told me his name was Michael, but policy did not permit her to provide his last name. After a fair amount of wasted time I found that his full name was Michael **. He said that there was nothing that he could do to help.The issue would be escalated to an arbitration group at Acura. He would forward the issue, but would not give me any way to contact them. They would call me if needed. To date, I have not heard from them or Michael. My feeling was that the car was not safe to drive. I had no idea if the airbags or brakes were going to work. This car spent over 30 days in 2015 at the dealership while they looked, but didn’t find a solution. I suggested to Garrett that we swap out the car. He said that he would get us a deal that we could not refuse. He would give us a deep discount on a new car and a generous allowance on a trade in. The deal was $1500 below sticker. The trade in allowance was also not that exciting. The offer was an insult. I believe that Acura makes a quality vehicle and that the problem happened to be in the one that I purchased.I also believe that the dealership and Acura as a company came up very short in how they dealt with me as a customer. I’ll be sure to share this experience with my friends. I posted when I purchased the car. I will do the same now that it is gone. I am very pleased that I no longer own an Acura.

Transmission shifting issues, abrupt shifts and downshifts as if you are being rear ended. Dealer supposedly updated software, issue remained unresolved. 2. iPhone Bluetooth issues with new iPhone. Contacts do not populate, had issue for four months and was never resolved, they blamed Apple for the issues. 3. Brake rotors warped after close to a year and leads that 13k miles, they blamed my driving, had to pay to get them resurfaced. 4. Brake calipers rusted, cosmetically unappealing, I was told it does not affect performance even though they look horrible through the big alloy wheels.

The car has sleek design, fuel efficient, economical, attractive and amazing color choices. Very friendly and aimed to meet my needs as well as my desires. Also, I was able to choose if it had a sunroof or spoiler or power windows, power locks, gas mileage, two door, four door, anti-lock brakes and also many color options. But, my car has very minimal storage capacity. Glove box was on the smaller side than I prefer. The two-door model was very lax in back seat room.

I am faithful Honda buyer. Currently, I own a 97 Prelude, 08 Accord V6, 08 Pilot and a 07 Acura MDX. Of all these cars, the MDX has been the worst in quality. First, there was the left suspension that rattles at 12k miles. My dealership (Continental Acura of Naperville) took countless of trips to diagnose the problem; they replaced the whole front left suspension, rear left suspension, re-did the brakes and after 6 visits, it was determined that the battery holder was cracked. Now, the car has 33k miles and the oil sensor switch has malfunctioned. In all my years of owning cars ranging from 0 miles to 200k miles, this has never happened.My car is past the warranty, so I am out of pocket $230. However, if you do a bit of research online, Acura has had this issue with 07-11 MDX, but did not issue a recall on the system. I own a 08 Honda Pilot and I have never had any issues. If you are considering buying an MDX, I employ you to take a look at their cheaper sister, Honda, who has better service and quality. And if luxury is what you really want, then go check out a Lexus. This is not a biased view, but rather a fact from US News and World Report, Motor Trend and Edmunds. I also talked to a US rep (1-800-382-2238, if anyone else needs it). There’s no help on the matter, just an apology for the poor product.

And you would think Acura as a whole, values their customer but honestly maybe they did in the past but NOT ANYMORE. The quality and moral of Acura has declined and is very low. I would like everyone to beware of this. First of all my brand new vehicle is 3 weeks old and last Monday 17th November 2014, I experienced a flat tire in Manhattan New York where I reside and to my amazement, the first thing anyone would do which is normal is to fix it on your own. After which you proceed if needed, to take it to a tire shop or dealership to be fixed much better however this was not the case at all. The vehicle had NO SPARE TIRE and I was not told this at my initial sale/purchase which is HORRIBLE for any customer. The customer has to RIGHT TO KNOW and given the choice what to do. But as a whole, Acura making vehicles like this now with no spare tire is NOT A GOOD THING AT ALL because it is a HAZARD AND DANGER TO THE CUSTOMER. I understand TECHNOLOGY is changing but ACURA NEEDS TO PUT THIS OUT THERE TO ANY CUSTOMER. As usual this a money making issue for Acura now because if they tell you the vehicle has no spare tire you have to purchase one on your own or purchase one with them. More expense for you. Coming back to my Current issue which is still going on as I have now picked this issue up with ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS, I have a case number so this is not a light issue especially for anyone with a new vehicle. The case manager assigned to me was so rude, very disrespectful, very bad communication and she should not represent ACURA at all. Her name was Katrina and she was the case manager assigned to my issue. She actually insulted me so many times and told me that it was my fault for not researching my new TLX properly. In other words, I was to be blamed for the vehicle not having a spare tire when she is absolutely wrong. Her tone was out of line and she seems to not value ACURA customers at all. What a poor example of someone like her portraying ACURA. She also proceeded to say that my sealant pump which they provide to fix the flat tire was not defective when it clearly was and she refused to see that. The tire sealant kit never worked for me and reaching out to her was of no use .Just to give you an idea as to how everything happened, Monday when I encountered the flat tire since there was no spare tire within the vehicle this made me so angry and I began to use their SO CALLED TIRE SEALANT KIT FOR A FLAT TIRE. In a nutshell, ACURAs version of a tire pump which is horrible. THIS TIRE SEALANT PUMP SEALED NOTHING... NOTHING I TELL YOU. The pump NEVER WORKED ONE BIT. This was my second disappointment and now the wheel that had the flat had WHEEL LOCKS. To my horror, the SO CALLED KEY FOR THE WHEEL LOCK did not work at all and the vehicle comes with NO WRENCH to remove the wheel lock despite everything going on. As a whole, all three items are very vital and dangerous to your life and everyone on this site should be aware of it. This is a big disappointment on Acura as a whole and they need to remodel and recheck their design of this vehicle next time or any other vehicle they would like to design. This vehicle is truly the best and very powerful however it lacks vital simple items which are important. The flat tire sealant pump does not work at all as I mentioned above. Please be aware and there is no spare tire for the customer unless you purchase one on your own or from the company. Therefore if you get a flat, the pump ONLY works if your tire has a hole JUST THE RIGHT SIZE FOR THE PUMP TO WORK. So everyone out there, please pay attention to this. The third thing on your tires as mentioned by me before, the wheel locks are placed on all four tires however the vehicle has a key which may or may not work and there is no wrench within the car to open the locks. This is a great risk and a definitely NO on Acura as a whole. I took my pump and wheel to be inspected and the service person at Paragon ACURA never updated with the outcome and forgot me completely hence no help from him. POOR SERVICE once again. I dont recommend this place and please be aware of your purchase of any 2015 Acura models. It is a SAFETY ISSUE FOR YOU AS A WHOLE. At PARAGON ACURA, THE SERVICE CONSULTANT was horrible and did not have the courtesy and professionalism to call me back concerning my tire pump and flat tire I left with him on Monday 11/24/2014 with any updates as I have to report this to Acura client relation. I called him after two days and he had the audacity to tell me he forgot to get back to me. POOR COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE FROM HIM. What a useless guy. OMG.This expensive vehicle also came standard with GOODYEAR EAGLE TIRES. Not a good thing to begin with as well. Anyway I wish to say in my closing please guys out there be careful and be safe. Take care of your own vehicle as you can see I am fighting currently to get acknowledged for their mistake. I think this is my last time with Acura as their service has declined completely and the lack of respect from the case manager Katrina is not professional at all. For Acura to have someone like Katrina representing them is very bad. She needs to learn the basic which is to know her job and it is clear she does not. Please guys out there be careful.

When I met my husband, he was driving an Acura TL. We used that car for a long time. It was gorgeous outside. The inside was spacious and comfortable and fit two childrens car seats comfortably. We decided we wanted more room in the trunk area because we have to take a lot of kid gear and suitcases when we travel. We got the Acura MDX. I drive it. Its an SUV, but its boxy squared off looking. Its more rounded and soft looking like a car. I have mine in a burgundy red. Inside is like a camel tan color leather seats. It has very tinted windows. The built in navigation is really nice. The navigation screen and radio screen is huge and very easy to operate. I like that I can control the radio with the buttons on the steering wheel. There is a third row that folds down. I keep it permanently folded down because we only have two kids. It is easy to fit in two car seats in the second row and would be easy to fit three. On the rare occasion that we do have the third row up it has sat three full sized adults in the third row comfortably. There is also a ton of room in the trunk. When I had to have my car serviced last month we got a loaner car. They gave us the Acura RDX. Its nice, but not quite as nice as the MDX and feels really cramped in comparison inside.

The Comfort Mode makes the ride smooth, but putting it into Sport mode and this car can move! The Expresso interior is beautiful and the interior is quiet. In fact, trying out other luxury SUVs, this MDX Hybrid is the most quiet. Great gas mileage. Only $1600 more for the Hybrid over the regular MDX Advance. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this car.

This is on a 4 year old upscale vehicle (Acura TL). This dealer (Hertrich Acura) especially does not care after purchasing 6 cars among me and family. Car was impeccably maintained but if you don’t service the vehicle at their overpriced garage you can forget it. It does have a 109k miles on it but that’s a break in period for other upscale brands! Stay away!

The car was in great condition otherwise so I spent the money to replace them. A couple years later I noticed a crack on the right side of the dash. The crack grew and has expanded to multiple cracks. I have never experienced this with a car and would certainly not expect it from a brand known for quality and luxury yet when I did an internet search I discovered that it is a common problem with the Acura. Buyer beware.

Hoping someone might have some insight on this... I bought a TLX October 2015 and babied it. A few weeks ago my husband asked me what I hit, because he noticed spidering of the paint to the front bumper. I know that I didnt hit anything, but I figured sure, theres a chance someone hit my car. But the more I looked at it, it appears that theres a bubble in the paint, and then the spidering is stemming from that. The bizarre part is that the clear coat is flawless; not an imperfection or scratch. Wouldnt one think if something hit it enough to cause a bubble and spidering, then the clear coat (which took the impact) would be affected? I took it to the Bedford Acura where I purchased it. The mechanic looked at it and said it was probably from impact, its $275 to repaint that half of the bumper. The manager then looked at it and said I agree with you (myself), thats odd, if there was impact there should be damage to the clear coat. He took a picture and sent it to the regional sales rep and today I received a phone call back that they believe its from stress impact and its not covered in warranty. I know Im not paint or car specialist, but Im truly having a hard time accepting this, so hoped others might have insight... but Im very unhappy with the mixed opinions Ive had, and the instant rejection by the company. I will certainly be pursuing this further!Not sure if this factors in (I mentioned it at my most recent visit but they said it was totally unrelated), but December 2016 I came out to my car and noticed a silver plastic accent piece on that same side had just popped out from the bumper; the clips holding it in place were broken. Again, there was no surrounding damage, and no damage to the piece itself other than the inner clips having broken off. I took it in and they replaced that piece. Im now starting to wonder if theres something wrong with the whole bumper itself and thats whats causing all of these non-impact problems! And Im rather address it before it is out of warranty. Ugh.

I recently purchased a new 2019 Acura RDX a-spec and have been experiencing continuous issues and malfunctions with the infotainment system. Issues include system freezing, Calls not ending, unable to access navigation or apple car play, System remains on (sometimes all day) when car is shut off. System will shut off while driving and lock out of all functions. Loud screeching over speakers at random. Unable to adjust volume with steering wheel controls, etc. Several of these things I was able to document on video. I was instructed by the service manager to disconnect the battery and allow car to sit for 10-15 min before reconnecting. This sometimes resolves for a short period before the issues resurface again. I recently took my car into Acura for service and they ended up keeping the car for 2 days to try and troubleshoot the issues. This is what the Service Rep sent me: Hey Tony, I got word back from my area rep that he has to cross reference the data with the field engineer to see if they feel like changing the infotainment system will address the concern or not. Some of the symptoms are known issues but have not had a fix developed yet, but we want to be sure we exhaust all options. After all that, they were unable to fix or replace anything. I was told that Acura is working on future software updates that they can push out to everyone, but for the time being, there is nothing that I can do. I feel like I bought a lemon that is probably dropping tremendously in value due to these ongoing issues. The colors are great, especially white pearl. The leather seats and wood on the dashboard are beautiful. The wheels are unique too. There are engine upgrades as well as stereo, heating/air conditioning, lighting, GPS and display upgrades. They offer satellite radio and cameras and parking sensors. Ive had some engine issues, I love the smooth ride though. The standard amount of people can fit in the vehicles. My car is roomy, no one has ever complained. There is good leg room as well. I fit 2 in the front and 3 in the back seat, even with a car seat back there.

Acura offers a good selection of stereo upgrades as well for the music enthusiasts. The coupes didnt have as much leg room as the sedans or SUV so they were a bit cramped. Other than that, they were quite roomy. If you are a larger person or got a big family then stick to the larger cars.

I was not informed of the recall issued 4/15/04 impacting transmissions for this year and model and was quoted for full replacement. Therefore, I had rebuilt at another facility due to cost at Acura dealership. Then on 8/14/11, I was traveling back from a trip and my transmission locked up on the highway almost resulting in a crash. I had to have the car towed 215 miles back to the transmission shop that serviced the vehicle. After further research, I identified that this issue was a result of the gear shift becoming too hot at a high speed, causing the transmission to grenade inside. This was exactly what is described as the defect consequence in the recall information. Due to the faulty transmission design, an additional jet oil kit is needed in order to ensure the transmission functions properly to allow fluid to flow through the transmission and dissipate heat. I placed a claim with Acura product services because both transmission issues were due to overheating of the gears. They denied my case and did not even contact the two shop references verifying both transmission issues were a result of this.

We took videos of this occurring, and the dealer was able to duplicate the problem. They said it was an issue that needed to be addressed by the corporate office, as there was nothing the dealer could do.I have spent the last two years going back and forth with Acura over this issue, and the matter remains unresolved. At first they said it was operating normally when it did this. They also said they hadn’t heard of this issue before. An internet search revealed numerous online complaints from other customers about this exact same issue. There’s even a service bulletin put out my Acura about this in August, 2017. Bulletin number BTS 161203 Version 3. It states that the front seat heater control unit was suspected to be the culprit.Acura has refused to fix this issue, so I requested a refund for our extended warranty, which we paid $2695 for. We are experiencing a mechanical/electrical failure of the heated seats to work properly, and Acura has refused to fix the problem. Therefore, we would like a refund for the extended warranty, which was purchased entirely for problems like this.

Since the moment I bought a brand new Acura ILX 2020 as a pleasure car in July 2020, I have already visited Prime Acura Dealership 10 times. The main issue – is a loud clunking noise that coming from the front side of the vehicle so you can feel it in the floor when tapping the gas while cruising and also from the passenger’s side and also hesitation while driving. All these problems occurred when the mileage on the car was about 3500 miles. To solve the issues, the dealership made a decision to replace the right axel (twice) and the intermediate shaft. They unsuccessfully tried to resolve the issue with the noise two times. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem the 3rd time, they told me that the noise is actually a normal characteristic of the vehicle. When I asked them why it was considered abnormal before and now it became normal, the mechanic told me that he didn’t know this particular model very well at that point.When I tried to look for a help in the other dealerships, I had received the same answer – the noise is the normal characteristic and the car is acting as designed. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem (it was my 6th time) the mechanic with more than 20 years of experience at Acura, who did a test drive, told me that the main reason of the noise could be transmission defect and that, possibly, there is a transmission replacement required. But after couple days of working with my car, the manager of the dealership got back to me with the answer that the car is acting normal. I have a camera in my car that recording 24/7, and the moment where the mechanic mentioned the transmission defect was recorded. But when I came home and check my recordings, I found out that that particular piece is missing. I have never had any issues with my camera before! Unfortunately, nobody from the dealership was able to explain me how that happened. To my great luck, I forgot to switch my clock to winter time, and because of that I have all the videos that I thought have been deleted. I decided not to give up and made an appointment with the engineer at Prime Acura. I requested a joint test drive with him, but at the dealership they told me that this is impossible because of the COVID-19. It was weird to me, because they allowed joint test drives with the mechanics but no with the engineers.When I realized that nobody at Prime Acura wants to help me, I went to the independent licensed mechanics who confirmed that the problem exists –“ there are hesitation during acceleration and thumping noise during up shifts, problem is indicated as internal transmission or TCM programming issue”. It was exactly the same words that the mechanic at Acura said to me before they changed their minds.One day I couldn’t start my car, because the battery died (Brand new car!). I had to ask my husband to jump the car and rafter that I went to the Prime Acura right away. The mechanic performed the test and told me that the battery died because it was defective. They replaced the battery, but 3 weeks later I found out that my camera was not recording in the parking mode, although it was before the battery was replaced. The mechanics who installed the camera told me that the battery voltage falls below 12 volts and the camera stops the recording. I came back to Prime Acura to ask what battery they installed, because before the replacement there were no issues with the camera whatsoever. The answer that I received was the power capacity of the battery is small and the camera is too heavy for it. When I asked them why it never happened to my old battery they just tried to avoid to answer the question and only repeated that the battery is too small.I tried to look up the problem and found a few articles about the camera, stating that the camera can’t kill the battery. I sent those to the Prime Acura rep. I just wanted to get answers on my questions but instead I received very rude email from him where he says that he doesn’t want to continue the conversation. Bottom line, I haven’t seen worse customer service that was provided by Prime Acura. They haven’t fixed my problem, they haven’t shown any desire to help or at least sympathy and respect towards me as the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to buy Acura ILX! This 26k purchase only gave me a huge headache and a lot of stress, humiliation and prejudice of my customer and human rights. Acura doesn’t stand by their product or does the right thing by the customer! The actual quality doesn’t comply with stated, car warranty is nothing but a joke and the “premium class” is just a dial tone.

Certain operating conditions can result in heat build-up in the transmission second gear set on certain 2000-2003 vehicles. This could result in gear tooth chipping or, in very rare cases, gear breakage. Gear failure could result in transmission lock-up and a crash could occur without warning. In most cases, abnormal transmission noise will indicate a problem.I refuse to accept the fact that they are showing absolutely no urgency in having this defect remedied. It is ridiculously that a dealership who sells Acura cars could not locate the necessary documents to prove that this recall exists. I literally had to make all the calls and walk the service advisor through their own company website as if it was their first time seeing recalls. Even then, Jaime insisted that the recall letter on Acuras website was not enough information.Who dares buy an Acura now?

I immediately tried to pull over and the Check Power Steering system light came on. I turned my car off and then back on and drove 500 feet back to work since the light went off. After work, I drove to the gym about 5 miles away and as I was driving again, it locked again. I brought it over to the Meineke next to the gym and had him keep it overnight to look at it in the morning. After he inspected it the next day and drove it, he said there was nothing wrong wear and tear wise on the car that he could see and to bring it to Acura. I brought it over the Acura in East Brunswick and told them my safety concern and did not want to drive this vehicle that clearly has something wrong with it that is out of my control. 3 hours later, I get a call saying that my power system steering wire went and I need a whole new system for around 1200. My car is 4 years old with 60,000 miles on it. After speaking with him and getting a price he told me that they would give me a rental car for free and that at any second the power steering system could go while I was driving. This is obviously a huge safety concern, there was no warning whatsoever and I was driving while my steering wheel locked up on me in a very busy area. I talked to numerous mechanics that said that that should not be happening whatsoever to a newer car with that amount of miles on it and it must be some type of defect. I decided to file a case with Acura because I do not feel like I am liable for this defect in their car. BTW I am still leasing and my warranty was up at 50,000 miles. When I went to Acura later that day to pick up my things and receive my rental car, they refused to give me one. I asked to speak with the manager and he said he needed to confirm with corporate Acura who I filed a case with to see if they will give me a rental. Well the next day they called and said that Acura said I did not deserve a rental car since I do not get my service done there. So I called corporate Acura and they were closed and called back the dealership and asked who they spoke to and the rep said that the manager had a personal number. I have not been to work in three days, was told I would know something yesterday, but the manager was off yesterday and now I am told tomorrow a case manager will come look at my car. This is unbelievable. I am refused a rental car after paying my monthly payment for this car for the past 4 years, I was driving an UNSAFE car that has some type of defect, and I am getting false information from the dealership and treated poorly and when I went to the dealership yesterday to get my EZ pass out of the car, it was unlocked and no one even looked twice at me that I could have been just going into to some random persons car. I am looking into an attorney if they do not cover this in full.

Our daughter has a disability but she works. She worked hard and saved her money to buy a car. She bought an Acura. Now the transmission is shot and the sad part is there is a recall for this issue but Acura will do nothing. They dont care. This is a longstanding problems with their transmission and they wont honor or support their own products. Its disgusting. This issue has been going on for years, what they do is have a car owner bring the car in to be check (you dont have any problems at that time) so now they can say Oh you used the warranty. Its disgusting nobody cares, its such a shame.Now we have to get another transmission on our own. Its wrong. If there was not a recall, we would never have even questioned it. This is a sin. Its like stealing from our daughter who has worked so hard and keeps her car in top condition. Car makers should be made to fix issues if its a known issue. Come on people. I dont even know what to say. ACURA IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY/NOR IS HONDA> You are rotten. They should be made to fix this issue as they know about it. They have 100s of complaints for this issue. It is not available in the after-market or used. In desperation, I contacted the Acura Brand Officer for assistance in locating the part or at least providing an ETA so I could make a decision regarding a replacement vehicle. He referred my issue to Acura Client Care. The representative took my information and promised to call back in a week. He did not. When I finally was able to contact him again, he was totally unprepared to speak with me and said he would call back in another week. He did not.Apparently, this is not an isolated incident. Since then I have read many Acura customer service reviews and many Acura owners have cars sitting because they cant obtain replacement parts and Acura customer service has been unresponsive. Ive owned four Acuras and the decrease in quality and customer service is very disappointing.

Never had trans problems with any car Ive ever owned. From what I hear, this is typical. Honda transmissions are some of the worst made. GM and Toyota are best. Oh well, you live and learn. Unless I go near the car with key in-hand and open the trunk door. I called Acura customer service and a guy told that Dont worry. We know that. Next year models will have the trunk release key inside the car. We cant do anything for you and he hung up. I was totally disappointed with this elusive answer. Why Honda deliberately suppressed this fact? Deceiving the customer is not good at all. I never buy any Honda car or Acura car. Though expensive, I should have bought Lexus SUV with better options than Acura RDX or MDX.

They also have an Acura RL which is even more luxurious and the Acura MDX which is a luxury SUV. Acura has very good looking cars that are very comfortable, along with many luxury features. Seat warmers, air conditioning, hands free link, customizable seat adjustment, a huge trunk, leather seats. In the Acura TL you can customize your temperature, your seat position, and the side mirrors. The Acura MDX you can get leather interior and automatic locks. The Acura TL has a ton of space in the backseat and also has a ton of space in the front seat and also has a giant trunk. You can seat 5 people very comfortably. The Acura MDX seats 5 people with even more space in the front and in the back.

I was pressing my foot on the accelerator but it would not go faster; in fact, it started slowing down. I was able to coast off to an exit, luckily, and then the car completely stalled, and would not start back up again. The dealership, Acura of Marin happened to be right there, and I had bought the car from them, Certified used, just 5 months prior. Although the service department was really great, and my car was under warranty, I sold the car back to them at a loss. Turned out it was a faulty/defective fuel pump. They called it bad; I call it defective. I was lucky that neither my children and I who were in the car, nor anyone else got hurt at the time of incident. No warning lights ever came on. Would not buy another Acura again.

First the car would not move when I put it into reverse or drive. When I finally got it to move it started making a grinding noise. I took it to Island Acura and they said my transmission is overfilled with transmission oil. They drain it to the right level. When leaving I heard a winding noise coming at low speed and decelerations. Took it back to the Island Acura and they said its coming from the transmission and front diff. They refused to work on the MDX bc I did not buy the car from them and said I have to take it back to where I bought it from. I took it back to Paragon Acura and they kept my MDX for over 3 weeks and did not resolve the issue instead they caused more of an issue. They return my MDX with damages. When I reach out to Paragon about the situation they said they will contact me back within 15 mins and they never did. I had to reach out to them the next day. I contact Acura cooperate and them seem to not care at all. My car only has 2200 miles and it dont seem to be a problem with them. Still have transmission problems. My quarter panel, rear bumper, front bumper, driver door, and inside the front door jam have to be painted. Plus my car is filthy with some interior damages. I also received a parking tickets while my MDX was in for service at Paragon Acura. This is the worst car company I have ever dealt with. DONT EVER GET A HONDA/ACURA PRODUCT! NOR DEAL WITH PARAGON ACURA!

I spent over two years having my battery regularly recharged or replaced, with the Acura dealer unable to diagnose the problem. I could not let my car sit more than one day without starting or the battery would be dead. I took it in several times and once paid to have a relay switch replaced, which did not solve the problem.I had lost use of my Bluetooth, but never connected the two, even though every time the battery was recharged the Bluetooth would miraculously work again for about 30 minutes... When I finally Googled 2007 Acura electrical problem I discovered lots of people have had this problem. Some had replaced their Bluetooth system and the problem recurred.Based on what I learned, had my Bluetooth disconnected. I contacted Acura Customer Service to complain about having to pay $100 to disconnect a system that has not worked for two years. Long story short, and after providing full documentation of my last two years of dealer, mechanic and AAA auto service, I was told that because Acura did not diagnose the Bluetooth system as the problem they could not help me. Ironic, eh? This problem has been occurring for years and by not diagnosing it they were not responsible for it. I must add I found Michael, the Customer Service person I spoke with, to be condescending and disrespectful (phone number 800-382-2238, extension **). Needless to say, my next car will not be an Acura.

The final straw was that the rear privacy screen was broke and would not retract. I hardly ever use it so I was mind blown as to how it would break on its own, even more mind blown when VW said that they couldn’t fix it, only replace for $600. After that, I traded that VW in and purchased my 2008 Acura TL. I have made that car for 11 Years and have never had any major issue, just the normal wear and tear stuff but as far as reliability, they can’t be beat! I was rear-ended a couple years back and ran into the car in front so I had both rear and front damage. Insurance totaled the car cause it cost more to fix than what it was worth. They paid me $8000 for it and I kid you not, it still runs. I got a new hood and had someone paint and it STILL runs without any issues, even after being totaled and now having over 150,000 miles! Since then, I have purchased at 2017 ACURA MDX and it’s awesome. Fully loaded with all the amenities for thousands less than what you’d get from BMW or Mercedes. You just can’t go wrong with Acura or Honda!

The first was the fogging of the headlights within the warranty and the second was a gapping of the front fender liner from the cars body, resulting in a noticeable and unsightly gap. Both matters were first reported to my local dealer who advised that both matters were caused by environmental conditions, and therefore not covered under warranty. An Acura service bulletin acknowledges the fender well issue as being caused by heat, and the fix is replacement of the liner at over $350. I quickly advised Acura that I operate my vehicle IN THE ENVIRONMENT! While I purchased this vehicle used, it was a dealer car that spent its previous life on the lot in sunny California, the very climate it was designed in. After a trip to the dealership and a couple weeks back and forth with Corporate Acura, during which I advised them of each of the of the 5 Honda/Acura vehicles I had owned, they simply refused to offer any assistance, hiding behind their ridiculous environment position. CPO vehicles are sought precisely for the warranty, which has proven to be of less value than the paper on which it was written.I have been a huge Acura/Honda fan over the past 27 years, but I clearly have higher expectations than Acura has in their own products. The ZDX was originally touted as their flagship vehicle, which clearly should be able to stand up to usual weather, at least within the warranty period! To fail in that regard is simply a failure of materials and a failure that is unrelated to the customers use of the product. In the end, the local dealership (from where I did not buy the car) offered to provide the labor for buffing the headlights when I paid for the $30 kit, which I did. Bottom line: CORPORATE ACURA DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY....BUYER BEWARE!

In 2010 I bought a 2009 Acura TL and here recently in the past year I have had issues with the rubber seals around all the windows, windshield and around all moldings on the outside of the car. I have explained to the dealership and a customer care manager at Acura Care services what my issues are and that my car is garage kept away from all natural elements. The window moldings have completely melted away leaving an inch gap between the door frame and window on all doors which allows water to fall freely within the door. Also cold/hot air flows into the car due to this so having the air turned on high in either condition is a must.When Acura Care was contacted and a case was opened I was advised due to the cars age they will not help at all. I asked if the pictures that were taken at the dealership were looked at. They replied that no pictures were seen or sent by dealership but the decision has been made. They will not be able to do anything for me. I again said that it isnt like I have been tampering with the seals or weather stripping but it is literally melting away to the touch and flying off the car as I am driving, again no concern was shown by the Acura Care Case Manager. Again I have purchased 4 Acura cars but WILL NOT BE DOING SO AGAIN EVER. VERY DISSATISFIED AND SAD TO KNOW THAT ACURA DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! I have a 98 Ford F-150 that stays in the TEXAS heat 365 days of the year and have never experienced this or anything near this on it. Yes it is a 09 but just barely has over 100k miles on it and is garage kept. Product is faulty and ACURA knows that is why they dont stand by their product or value true customers.

They said other Acura had the same issues and I need to get the steering rack assembly changed. The part was back ordered and it couldnt be fixed right away. After 4-5 months of wait the part was back in stock and Vandergriff installed the whole new steering rack assembly. The car at that point only had 14,000 miles. I took the car back to Vandergriff 3 times because the car wasnt going straight. The first time it was pulling to the left and the next two times pulling to the right. Ithen took it to another dealer in my area, Goodson Acura. They performed an alignment for free and said the issue is fixed. I drove the car right after and again the issue was there. The car keeps going to the left. The sensors in the car has be reset and still the car doesnt go straight. I contacted Acura Client Relations and Sue from CA called me back. She called me 3 weeks ago. She mentioned she will call me back and let me know if I can bring the car into the dealership. Three weeks in and reaching out to her three times already, she hasnt called me back. I am getting frustrated I have a new car and it drives worst than my 2021Mazda 3. I have been through 2 oil changes (One this past November) and tire rotation, only for Acura of Memphis not to mention anything about an alignment. I asked to speak with a service manager and the rep sent me to Doris ** (I knew she wasnt a manager), who made me feel really bad. She said its my fault that I didnt get an alignment. Im suppose to get it twice a year (who does that? Who knows that?) She also asked if I read the manual for the service codes??? NO! When service due comes up, I go to Acura of Memphis. I thought this was a one stop shop, but it looks like I have to turn into a mechanic! When I bought the car, I was told oh yeah, oil changes and tire rotations 2x a year. Well according to Doris, its suppose to be 2 oil changes, 2 alignments, air filters, etc. Sounds like $1000 for maintenance 2x a year. Im stuck after 1 year, 30k miles, buying two tires ($244 ea and alignment $99).After writing the post above on Facebook, the General Manager, Clifton **, called me very upset. He stated that I post incorrect information. He also stated that Doris was indeed a manager, in which the website stated that she was a service advisor. Per Mr. **, she was promoted 2 weeks or 2 months ago. Mr. ** clearly wasnt trying to resolve my problem, but was very argumentative. I told him multiple times that my problem clearly isnt a tire problem, but an alignment problem. He totally ignored me and started reading some script talking about what Acura does for their customers. His tone was very negative and I dont ever care to speak with him again. I purchased an Acura Care certified extended warranty when I purchased my MDX from the Acura dealership. However, just before my warranty was set to expire, my car broke down due to a seized motor. I had the vehicle towed to Acuras service center, Pleasanton Automotive, because the vehicle was still under warranty. They dismantled the entire motor, called Acura Care who sent an inspector, and the inspector determined that Acura Care would not cover the repairs because the vehicle was damaged due to negligence. At this point, I would like to note that I have kept up with the preventive maintenance on the MDX - regular Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes and vehicle inspections done at Walmart, and regular tune-ups and inspections done at my ex-husbands automotive service shop. The Acura Care inspector said he determined that my car had been run without oil which caused the motor to become extremely overheated and seize. However, not once did my car show any indication of overheating, nor was it ever run without oil. When questioned, the Acura service advisor confirmed that the oil was full, there were no metal shavings found in the oil, and the vehicle did not have any leaks. The Acura representatives have verbally blamed Walmart for the damage, but they refuse to put the accusations in writing. Now, Acura is saying that I have to pay almost $9000 for a new motor and labor, but I still believe all costs should be covered under the extended warranty.

On Sunday, 1/23/12, as we were on our way back to Brooklyn from Boston, Massachusetts, my husband and I heard an unusual sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. We immediately called Acura of Brooklyn to report the problem and they advised us to go to the nearest Acura service station in Boston. When we arrived to Acura in Boston, the service department was closed. A representative from Acura of Brooklyn then advised us to bring our vehicle in the next day so that the source of the problem can be determined.As we proceeded to drive home to Brooklyn, the front end noise became progressively worse and the wheel began to shake excessively. This occurred approximately 60 miles south of Brooklyn in Connecticut. Suddenly and without warning as we were driving on the highway, our front right wheel came completely off, nuts and all. Needless to say, my 10 year old daughter, my husband and I were shaken up by this incident. We called a tow truck company and our vehicle was taken directly to our house because Acura of Brooklyn was closed. Early the next day, a service technician from Acura of Brooklyn came to our house to assess the damage and the vehicle was immediately taken to be repaired at their service station and we were given a loaner car. After the work was completed, my husband asked for a copy of the work order to see what damage had occurred and if and what parts, were replaced. It was never sent to our house or given to us. A routine follow up customer service call was received 3 days later and I explained my dissatisfaction with the way the incident was handled and the disregard and inconsiderate behavior of the Acura staff. The customer service representative assured me that the message would be relayed to the manager and someone would be contacting me soon. No one did.In March 2012, my vehicle was taken for a routine oil change and I was told that the front brakes would be in need of replacement at my next visit. Today, Friday, May 11, 2012, I took my car in to Acura of Brooklyn for a routine oil change, to replace the front brakes as instructed and also to report a knocking sound that I was hearing from the front end where the damage occurred when the left wheel had come off back in 1/2012. Not only was I told by **, the service adviser, that my front brakes no longer needed to be replaced but now my left and right wheel bearings needed to be replaced and my axles as well. Although puzzled by this new information, I immediately asked if it is impossible that the damage was done when my wheel came off on the highway. I was told no that this is due to the normal wear and tear and also because of my high mileage. The quote given for the repair was very high, even at the discounted price given by **.I asked to speak to ** manager, ** who was very hostile and inconsiderate from the beginning of our discussion. In no uncertain words, ** informed me that he was not present when the incident occurred in 1/2012 and that our near death experience was irrelevant to him. I reminded Mark that my husband, my daughter and I could have died when my husband lost control of the vehicle due to the negligence of his mechanic, who failed to tighten the nuts of the wheel. He showed total disregard and told me that if I dont want to pay the money to have the service done, I should pick up my vehicle. I was disgusted by his behavior but I told him I would call back once a decision was made.Approximately 30 minutes later, I reluctantly called ** back to inform him that since my vehicle is a necessity, the service work should be done but I will be filing a formal complaint. He informed me that this is really not worth it and he does not need the money that bad. He also told me that I should pick up my vehicle if I was not comfortable with the work that is being done. I told him that the purpose of my call is to have the work done and he cannot refuse to provide service to my vehicle. Since ** behavior was upsetting, I asked to speak to his supervisor but he informed me that ** would not be back until Monday. He then hung up the phone. This lack of consideration, disregard and poor customer service and relations is totally unacceptable and prompted my decision to file this complaint.

I bought the TSX, which isnt as popular but handles well, came with the standard Acura warranty, spacious interior, and climate control seating. The appearance is sporty. Something that would turn heads on a crowded street. The exterior is smoke grey with a black leather interior. Very impressive. The features are top notch, blue tooth link to cell phone, climate control seating, back up camera, etc. My car seats up to 5 adults comfortably. Some of the other models, in particular the RDX and some Sport Utility models can seat up to 8 adults comfortably.

The heating unit was quick to respond after startup. I had the black and when it was polished up would look great at night against the street lights. The all wheel drive made it great for cruising around. I really liked the radio interface. The backseat was also very roomy. I once had three friends in the back for a four hour trip and they were able to survive. There was enough room to make it comfortable.

The dealership finally had an Acura District Manager come out on 7/8/15 and know they are saying that they cannot fix the problem and there is no fix for the problem. They kept saying it is indicative of the type of car. The guy I am working at Acura corporate said he will get back to me which means I have to call him 3 or more time to get a response. The dealership admits that there is an engineering problem with the TLX but there is no resolution for it. If anyone has any advice or how to remedy the issue please let me know. Very frustrated that I worked very hard to get a luxury car and realize that I got better service when I had Ford, Subaru and a Honda. This my seventh leased vehicle, 4 Hondas leased and they are going to lose a customer that has had great history. So upset with the situation.

The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The vehicle rides so smoothly on various roads while steering is very comfortable and ease to control the vehicle. Overall I recommend this vehicle but my taste has changed in terms of car type. I would like to pursue a mid sized SUV in the future.

He kept saying Obviously you do not understand me again and again. I reminded him that I may not be a native speaker but I perfectly understand English and I am a US Citizen and I have the right to know what the procedure but he again treated me like an immigrant who did not understand anything. Unfortunately he was getting worse every time I opened my mouth. I did not understand why he was so rude and mean and why he was discriminating me saying that I did not understand him. I also have an MDX that I have bought from the same dealer in 2011 and I have been going to the same service since then. I have never ever been insulted and discriminated like this before. Actually I have never been treated like this in my life before. Brand new car stopped on a highway. I was totally traumatized and shocked. I did not know what to do. Instead of saying sorry he kept insulted me. He never ever not even once said he was sorry. I was so upset that I was shivering and crying but he seriously did not care about what happened or how I felt because of a car that we paid $60,000. This has been one of the worst days and treatment in my life. I like my car but I think Acura has the worst customer service and they do not think about doing anything about it since my husband also complaint about him via email a week ago and nobody responded his emails. I hope they will do something to improve their customer service and they do not hire these kind of people who do not know how to treat customer who has already bought two SUVs from them.

I looked around to see if someone had a flat tire but there were no other cars in sight. All of a sudden I heard loud wind noise and felt pieces of glass all over me. I even suffered some scratches on my hand and on my head. Thats when I realized that my sunroof had exploded. There were no other vehicles in sight that could have caused the damage plus the moonroof had exploded upwards. I have contacted several dealers, also called Acura customer relations but no luck. Ive find some research to find out that Acuras have had this issue on most of their vehicles. Acura doesnt want to assume any liability and wont pay for the repairs.

I made sure that the scheduled maintenance was performed to prevent the transmission failure. Im disappointed that even though my transmission had the oil jet kit that supposed to help lubricate gears inside I still have the transmission problem. Acura quoted me 4k dollars to fix it and my transmission specialist wants 3k. Since the purchase, the car has driven very well, showing no indication of any issues. Though I purchased this vehicle in a metroplex, I live in a rural area. I drive 60 miles round-trip to and from work. Last Wednesday, while driving on a rural highway between offices, the car lost all power without any warning traveling at 75mph. The RPM dial went crazy, and then the check engine lights flickered (check charge system, check ABS, check VSA). Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. I let it run, hoping it would stay on until I could get assistance. After about 5 minutes, it shut down completely. I was stranded in between 2 small towns on a rural highway with spotty cell phone coverage plus the inconvenience of missing work. I could not restart the car—absolutely no lights came on. Thankfully, I was able to contact a tow service to tow the car back to my house (28 miles away). I assumed the battery was the issue and replaced it, which worked for 5 minutes before it was completely drained. I live 350 miles from the nearest Acura dealer, so I had to tow it there. When I got it to Acura on Saturday, they ran diagnostics on the car and determined it was a faulty alternator, covered by my extended warranty and fixed the problem. My main concern with this situation is that there was no warning whatsoever to alert me of a problem. Had I been alerted, I would have acted proactively to prevent this from occurring, especially since I live so far from a dealer. I can only imagine how much worse this could have been had it happened in the middle of the night in this rural area, or if this happened on a 5-lane highway in a big city during the morning or evening commute.When I mentioned the lack of warning to the Acura service guy, he said, “Sometimes there is no warning on these things.” That is a problem. There should always be some form of warning before a relatively new vehicle is malfunctioning. Acura needs to determine why their vehicles are not warning the drivers of potential repairs for the safety of its drivers and all other drivers.

He checked it out in my garage and found that the oil drain plug was stripped and that it did not tighten properly and needed replacing. This should have been caught by the mechanics at the Acura dealership. This cars previous owner always used the dealership when anything had to be done and I have followed in her footsteps taking the car to be serviced there also. I am indeed dissatisfied and will think about taking my car for an oil change next time I need it. On top of this, I was never told the oil drain plug was stripped. Until Acura figures out how to treat customers right and work real issues with criticality, do them a favor and treat them like the brand they are...buy a Kia. At least it will be cheaper and still squeak.

I was told that they were unsure the extent of the damage at that time. I sent my mom down to get important papers out of my glove box as I was unable to get there. When she arrived, she found someone still working on the car and she opened the glove box to it full of water rushing out like a fish tank being dumped over. The next day I went down to the dealership to see my car myself and speak to management. We met with George who promised to bend over backwards to help me.I was continually pushed aside and treated like I was a nuisance. Once their insurance finally claimed it a total loss (over a week later) I then was left to do all the work, I had to fight for 104 days to get my car paid off. This was daily calls and emails and hundreds of hours of work. When it came time to get me into a new vehicle I was shuttled back and forth between salesmen (who were all friendly but couldnt help) and the 2012 that was comparable to my MDX was sold before I could get there to see it the next morning. I was hopeful theyd cut me a great deal on a replacement vehicle for all Id been through but alas all I got was a lousy $1000 off the price (something anyone could haggle down) and still paid over blue book, and 15% off floor mats and I had to pay for moldings to be put on to cover all the scratches on the passenger side. To get the $1000 off I had to fight for $250 of it and was told by Gene **, Fine if its a fight over $250 Ill do it just to get you done and out of here. He was incredibly rude to me and honestly I shouldnt have proceeded with the purchase of the new car especially since the only viable option was a 2015 MDX that now costs me an extra $150 per month and I had to start payments all over again.Once my car was paid I reached out to the dealership to try to work out some compensation for my time and losses like new tags, paying double insurance while I fought to get my car paid off, and interest accrued during that time. I sent a certified letter to George, and Gene called me in return, I asked to hear from George who refused to contact me and I never heard from again. I then put a complaint in with the BBB because I was receiving no response. George blank told the BBB they bent over backwards to help me and there was nothing more they could do.I then contacted Acura corporate directly (who were wonderful by the way) and they couldnt believe how I had been treated and they tried to help me. They arranged a call with the dealership which was between me, Acura and Gene. Gene again was not very friendly in his tone and took no responsibility for what had happened. His apology is, We are sorry this happened, and that WEVE had to deal with this. He finally offered me some compensation for my loses. $1000 with the stipulation that I leave no negative reviews and do not discuss the dealership negatively. And 3 years free oil changes (no way would I bring my car back to them).I refused his offer because I believe people need to know that while I was fighting the insurance I found out from their own tech and from their incident report I had to collect, MY CAR WAS ACTUALLY TOTALED 4 DAYS PRIOR TO THEM CONTACTING ME AND THEY TRIED TO HIDE IT!! Ive collected thorough documentation on all the events that occurred, and it is now my mission to warn people about this dealerships poor business practices. There are good people that work there that if they could have would have helped me more; these people are Bob **, Chris ** and Matt in sales.

It has died on us so many times that Ive bought a charger that we keep in the back to jump it since it happens so often at any place such as the airport, work, or at home. Ive taken it to Acura twice. They say it checks out fine and wouldnt replace the battery for me so I bought a new one. It did slightly better for a short time - two weeks. Then it started dying again. We always leave the dome lights off but if you dont drive it for a few days, or listen to the radio for an hour with the car not running the battery will die. Something is draining the system but the Acura service department while nice seems to be in denial of a problem that is rather common with their vehicles. The nearest dealer to us is 45 minutes away so dropping it off all the time is an inconvenience.Weve had problems with the stereo. We are on our third new head unit, and several different memory setting problems that were covered under the warranty. I was ready to get rid of it after the second year. It is my wifes first new vehicle and she wanted to keep it for at least 10 but I’m hoping to talk her into getting rid of it this next week. The MDX has a nice quiet smooth ride but everything else weve dealt with leaves me to advise you to buy a Lexus, Audi, Volvo, etc. We were going to give this MDX to my father-in-law when we got a new vehicle but I wouldnt want him to be stranded with a dead battery or deal with more issues Ive been reading about in the forums. Our MDX only has 59,000 miles.

So if anything, I owe around 12k, considering my apr guesstimate is somewhat close.How in the world do I owe almost 19k? I know for a fact that 4.0 apr will not result in 7k after two years. Also, after missing my payment the second time, they canceled my online Acura financial account. IF I would have signed a forever discharge release, they would have made my car payment while it was in the shop. Since I would not sign, they withdrew their goodwill gesture. Acura, American Honda, Acura Care and the Walser Acura dealership left me very disappointed that a luxury automobile company would treat their customer in such a manner. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. I would not recommend purchasing Acura Care for your next purchase if you choose to take your chances with an Acura.

I have a 2010 Acura CSX. Couple years ago, we saw some white spots on top panel and back door panel. This year I found spots become very big, and much more white spots showed. I went to dealer at Ottawa Camco Acura, and I was told there are many cars with paint issue. Acura manufacturer reduce paint thickness to save cost. Very thin layer of coat was slowly disappear. The quote to repair panels are over 1800$. I went to other body shop, and I was told repair fee is around 900$. I called Acura customer service, and I was told the paint issue is normal. I was told Acura will equally split repair cost with me. I think it is totally quality issue, and Acura should pay all cost. Acura is a prime car, and service fee is super high. I bought Acura car, because I thought Acura is a high quality car. But I am very disappointed. I think I made mistake to buy a car from Acura.

The car was white with a lot of features like ac, automatic, tinting on the window, leather seats, huge mirrors, reclinable seats. It was really easy to use and the manual helped with any issues. Its a very good car for a modest family with kids. The car seat were really comfortable, even for a long drive, lots of legroom for passengers and easy access with the 4 doors.

I purchased two CPO Acuras. A 2014 RDX with 8000 miles on it and a 2015 TLX with 5,000 miles. Since then have performed all maintenance as specified through a dealer. I have had issues with both vehicles as described below. With under 50,000 miles on the RDX a check emissions light came on and I replaced a front rocker arm oil sensor switch. One month later the light came back on and I was told the the vehicle needed to have a software upgrade for the engine and transmission for $200. 3 days later the light came back on and now the Im told the rear oil sensor switch needs to be replaced for another $300.With TLX I experienced something I had never seen. Approximately 3 or 4 months after replacing the battery at the dealer the car shut down completely at an intersection with no power on to anything not even the emergency flashers. I was forced to call the police and a tow truck to get me to the dealer $400 later the dealer informed me that the replacement battery had failed. Of course they replaced the battery at no charge but no compensation for the cost of the tow or my time (I was on my way to a client). I would seriously advise anyone looking at spending the money on an luxury brand to be advised to careful consider not only the vehicle but how youll be treated afterwards.

They cannot find a solution to it. When I simply asked the service team what they can do to stop it, they simply said its not going to stop. I have been in and out for the same problem that never goes away! Its very frustrating and scary to think that it could be a safety concern! Client relations is also one sided! They dont listen to you because to them, its the service team thats right. Screw this company! Never gonna buy a luxury car again! You do not get your moneys worth and no peace of mind driving it!

Hello people. This is only a handful of owners. I am sure there are just as many complaint with any other manufacturer. Here is a better idea. Lease your vehicle before you buy it. If you dont like it, and you bought the malfunction/replacement protection plan, you arent out anything. It sounds like most of these people are just ignorant, and like to cry about something they were too cheap to buy. You people bought a luxury vehicle. Buy the protection plan. It isnt that expensive. If you bought the vehicle, buy the protection for it. You obviously have the money. I just got my first Acura, and I feel you are just trying to scare potential buyers, because you had problems. I love my car. It is the best car I have ever owned. Its comfortable, stylish, has plenty of space, a V-tech engine, heated seats, GPS navigation, all leather interior, power everything, moon roof, and it handles like a dream. On top of all of that, I have their cheapest vehicle, an ILX. I have only had it for two weeks, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, you people sound like spoiled adults who have always got what they desired. Why did you buy it? I tell you why. You heard they make luxurious vehicles that run forever. Why have you heard that? Because they are made by the same people who make Honda, and everyone knows Honda makes great cars. If you want to whine, buy something else. You wont hurt their business. Buy a cheaply made Mitsubishi or Hyundai. Quit trying to ruin peoples driving experience, because yours was.

We purchased our Mdx new knowing it was considered a luxury car and expecting it to last a long time without having any major problems. This car has been garage kept and only has 51 K miles on it! Three years ago the AC quit working - that cost several hundred dollars to get repaired. A few days ago the power steering quit. Luckily my husband was driving because he said I would never have been able to steer it safely off the road. He added the correct Honda fluid 3 times in order to make it home. Now we are being told it needs a whole new rack & pinion! How can a luxury car with only 51 K mile need a rack and pinion! We have owned many cars in the last 40 years and have never had to replace this part. The under side of the car is also all rusty. What else will go bad? Poor reliability for what is supposed to be a luxury car. Will not buy another one.
