Acura RL is very reliable and comfortable. Great performance and great car for a long trip. Have 155k miles on it with no serious problems. The SH-AWD with torque vectoring make it ultra stable on snowy roads.

Not many different models, but there are great colors and have different engine sizes. The car itself was great looking and I loved the easy going body. It didnt look like some weird spaceship like other cars look. The car had a nice sleek looking dash and is easy to clean too. My immediate space, and front seat passenger space was nice and did not feel confined. However the backseat was small and not very comfortable. Also, whenever I had issues with my car, the parts were very expensive and that was the downside for myself.

I am writing this review to improve this service. It appears that only the people who have had trouble with their Acura vehicles have left reviews. Think of how many people own an Acura. Hello people. This is only a handful of owners. I am sure there are just as many complaint with any other manufacturer. Here is a better idea. Lease your vehicle before you buy it. If you dont like it, and you bought the malfunction/replacement protection plan, you arent out anything. It sounds like most of these people are just ignorant, and like to cry about something they were too cheap to buy. You people bought a luxury vehicle. Buy the protection plan. It isnt that expensive. If you bought the vehicle, buy the protection for it. You obviously have the money. I just got my first Acura, and I feel you are just trying to scare potential buyers, because you had problems. I love my car. It is the best car I have ever owned. Its comfortable, stylish, has plenty of space, a V-tech engine, heated seats, GPS navigation, all leather interior, power everything, moon roof, and it handles like a dream. On top of all of that, I have their cheapest vehicle, an ILX. I have only had it for two weeks, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, you people sound like spoiled adults who have always got what they desired. Why did you buy it? I tell you why. You heard they make luxurious vehicles that run forever. Why have you heard that? Because they are made by the same people who make Honda, and everyone knows Honda makes great cars. If you want to whine, buy something else. You wont hurt their business. Buy a cheaply made Mitsubishi or Hyundai. Quit trying to ruin peoples driving experience, because yours was.

In March 2014 my 2009 Acura TSX battery died after work while running errands. I have the Acura Care extended warranty and contacted roadside assistance to come give me a jump start. Acura Care was great. They made sure I was safe, and got someone to me in 20 minutes. The guy told me my battery terminals were corroded and my car may not start in the morning. Knowing I might need a jump again in the morning, I woke up early to see if my car would start. No such luck. I called Acura Care again to see if they could come jump me so I could drive it to a dealership. Apparently they have a 7 day rule where only one type of service can be utilized. I asked them to tow my car then. Tow truck guy refused to tow it and jumped it.Now gets to the meat and potatoes of my issue. I get to the dealer around 7:45 and tell the service guy Im having battery problems. He pops my hood, tests my battery and says Yep you will need to buy a new battery. I point to my battery and say It says right on it, in two spots, 100 month warranty. My car is obviously not 100 months old. He begins to tell me that the warranty only applies to batteries I purchased. Now Im getting angry. I tell him, I did purchase the battery, I purchased the battery when I purchased the car. He then tells me, The battery CAME with the car. I respond with, Listen, I bought the battery when I bought the car. I own the car. I bought the car, the rims, the seat, the engine, the fluids. I bought it, I bought ALL of it!!!!! Im now extremely angry and waving my hands. The service guy tells me to calm down so he can get his manager.Mike the service manager at Rick Case Acura of Fort Lauderdale tells me the same story as the service guy. That the two stickers on the battery mean if you replace your battery you get a 100-month warranty, but the warranty does not apply to batteries that came with the vehicle. They are under the 3 year/ 50,000 mile warranty. I tell him what Acura is doing is extremely deceiving. They are putting multiple stickers all over a battery claiming a 100k warranty, when it doesnt apply to me since I didnt buy a replacement battery. Acura should provide different batteries when the car is sold, than when it is replaced. He agrees, says it is the root of a lot of problems with customers and offers to comp the labor of replacing the battery (Thanks for the $25 comp for 2 minutes of service).I then mention my battery terminals are extremely corroded and I will need a new cable. You can get this cable and terminals at the auto store for $4. He agrees and says its cracked and will need to be replaced. I was now running late for work, and asked if someone could drop me off 15 minutes away. I head to work where a couple hours later I get even crazier news from Acura. I will also need to replace my battery harness, which is $400 and has to be special ordered. I am baffled. I knew I would need to replace a cable, but a harness? And a harness is $400???? The service guy tells me it is connected to the terminal cable and corroded all the way through. There is absolutely no work around, and I will need to purchase the battery and new harness to get my car up and running again. I remind him that I have Acura Care Extended 100,000 mile Warranty and to see if the harness is list. He calls back a few minutes later to tell me the harness is NOT part of the warranty. I tell him A harness sounds like it SHOULD be a sturdy item, that supports another item, and shouldnt break. Whats the problem here? He tells me the battery was leaking acid all down the harness and it is no longer usable. This all stems back to Acura and their ** DECEIVING, lack of customer service and living up to their promises. I had to shell out over $600 for a bad battery. A battery that lead me to believe it had a 10- month warranty. I will NEVER buy another Acura again. I loved my car until this incident and their lies, fraud and failure to live up to their advertisements came to light.

I own a 03 TL. I purchased it used back in 2006 with less than 42,000 miles on it. About 7 months later, I had issues with car skipping gears. Took it to the dealership and was told I needed to get my PCM, 2 engine mounts, and transmission replaced. At this time, I had only 53,800+ miles. Had I not bought the extended warranty, I would have had to pay for the PCM and engine mounts to be replaced. Now fast forward the 2014, check engine light is on as well as TCS. Had various places check it out and they told me it appears to be a transmission problem/torque converter clutch solenoid issue and to have the dealer check it out. I was hoping that it wasnt that. They tell me my transmission is pretty much shot. Im like, seriously? Im just now getting over 173,300 miles and my 2nd tranny has failed? Very disappointed. Acura knew about these problems and they should be held responsible for this. People cant afford to replace things like that every 100k miles or so. That should not happen. Needless to say, I will not be owning another Acura.

I use this car mostly in the city so for its purpose it is solid. However when I do hit the highway there is no question I am secure in this vehicle. Performance: not the best off the mark but it handles well. Put some snow tires on and your good all winter. ACURA is part of the HONDA family and I am a Honda fan so I felt confident in this purchase. This car is a mid level SUV which stands up very well. It drives not as smoothly as some higher end makes but certainly delivers a quality comfortable ride. The Nav system needs work and maybe theyve fixed it since my 2014 but for now I dont get to use it. I drive off my phone instead. I cant really speak to gas consumption as I drive very little but so far, is reasonable.

There are different models which suits the need of different people. Inexpensive maintenance cost and nice luxurious interior without the cost of an arm and leg. The Acura has a sleek design and available in many colors. There are many available features with a modern design and technology advanced. Also, theres an easy one push start up to warm up car in advance. Basic feature work fine although there are optimal advance upgraded features. Also, they have cheaper upgrades compared to other brands and the ability to customized based on ones needs. There is enough space for what I need. But would like more leg space without buying a bigger car. Passenger seating is close if sitting in center tier. Overall, worth the cost.

Our daughter has a disability but she works. She worked hard and saved her money to buy a car. She bought an Acura. Now the transmission is shot and the sad part is there is a recall for this issue but Acura will do nothing. They dont care. This is a longstanding problems with their transmission and they wont honor or support their own products. Its disgusting. This issue has been going on for years, what they do is have a car owner bring the car in to be check (you dont have any problems at that time) so now they can say Oh you used the warranty. Its disgusting nobody cares, its such a shame. Now we have to get another transmission on our own. Its wrong. If there was not a recall, we would never have even questioned it. This is a sin. Its like stealing from our daughter who has worked so hard and keeps her car in top condition. Car makers should be made to fix issues if its a known issue. Come on people. I dont even know what to say. ACURA IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY/NOR IS HONDA> You are rotten. They should be made to fix this issue as they know about it. They have 100s of complaints for this issue. Just makes me sick...

Acura of Memphis service department. I took my brand new car in for an oil change. My Acura RDX had no problems when it went in. When I got the car back from the service department, I left the service department and once I got on the road and hit the brakes the car’s brakes something underneath makes a hard click. I recognize this tactic from the days when dealerships service departments would service your car and when you drove away something else would happen and you would need service for the problem. I plan to take it to my honest mechanic and ask him to evaluate the problem.

During the week of January 16-January 19, 2012, my vehicle was taken to Acura of Brooklyn on 2722 Nostrand Avenue for an oil change. While there, the service adviser informed me the rear brakes of my 2006 MDX needed to be replaced and I consented to the service. On Sunday, 1/23/12, as we were on our way back to Brooklyn from Boston, Massachusetts, my husband and I heard an unusual sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. We immediately called Acura of Brooklyn to report the problem and they advised us to go to the nearest Acura service station in Boston. When we arrived to Acura in Boston, the service department was closed. A representative from Acura of Brooklyn then advised us to bring our vehicle in the next day so that the source of the problem can be determined. As we proceeded to drive home to Brooklyn, the front end noise became progressively worse and the wheel began to shake excessively. This occurred approximately 60 miles south of Brooklyn in Connecticut. Suddenly and without warning as we were driving on the highway, our front right wheel came completely off, nuts and all. Needless to say, my 10 year old daughter, my husband and I were shaken up by this incident. We called a tow truck company and our vehicle was taken directly to our house because Acura of Brooklyn was closed. Early the next day, a service technician from Acura of Brooklyn came to our house to assess the damage and the vehicle was immediately taken to be repaired at their service station and we were given a loaner car. After the work was completed, my husband asked for a copy of the work order to see what damage had occurred and if and what parts, were replaced. It was never sent to our house or given to us. A routine follow up customer service call was received 3 days later and I explained my dissatisfaction with the way the incident was handled and the disregard and inconsiderate behavior of the Acura staff. The customer service representative assured me that the message would be relayed to the manager and someone would be contacting me soon. No one did.In March 2012, my vehicle was taken for a routine oil change and I was told that the front brakes would be in need of replacement at my next visit. Today, Friday, May 11, 2012, I took my car in to Acura of Brooklyn for a routine oil change, to replace the front brakes as instructed and also to report a knocking sound that I was hearing from the front end where the damage occurred when the left wheel had come off back in 1/2012. Not only was I told by **, the service adviser, that my front brakes no longer needed to be replaced but now my left and right wheel bearings needed to be replaced and my axles as well. Although puzzled by this new information, I immediately asked if it is impossible that the damage was done when my wheel came off on the highway. I was told no that this is due to the normal wear and tear and also because of my high mileage. The quote given for the repair was very high, even at the discounted price given by **.I asked to speak to ** manager, ** who was very hostile and inconsiderate from the beginning of our discussion. In no uncertain words, ** informed me that he was not present when the incident occurred in 1/2012 and that our near death experience was irrelevant to him. I reminded Mark that my husband, my daughter and I could have died when my husband lost control of the vehicle due to the negligence of his mechanic, who failed to tighten the nuts of the wheel. He showed total disregard and told me that if I dont want to pay the money to have the service done, I should pick up my vehicle. I was disgusted by his behavior but I told him I would call back once a decision was made.Approximately 30 minutes later, I reluctantly called ** back to inform him that since my vehicle is a necessity, the service work should be done but I will be filing a formal complaint. He informed me that this is really not worth it and he does not need the money that bad. He also told me that I should pick up my vehicle if I was not comfortable with the work that is being done. I told him that the purpose of my call is to have the work done and he cannot refuse to provide service to my vehicle. Since ** behavior was upsetting, I asked to speak to his supervisor but he informed me that ** would not be back until Monday. He then hung up the phone. This lack of consideration, disregard and poor customer service and relations is totally unacceptable and prompted my decision to file this complaint.

Purchased new from Acura dealer, a 2014 MDX. At 22,000 miles noticed annoying chirping noise. After second time to dealer, they advised noise is from fuel pump and characteristic of vehicle & similar to other MDX. The loaners I have driven do not have this noise nor did mine for first 22,000 miles. I paid $50,000 for this vehicle, which is my fourth MDX. Unless Acura changes their response and fixes this noise, it will be my last. Who pays this amount of money to listen to irritating noise caused by fuel pump? Acura appears to be company driven by cost not customer relations! Where in the past I recommended to friends to consider an MDX, I now advise them of my unresolved issue. Those that ride with me ask what the noise is and wonder why I do not have dealer repair. They are dumbfounded that Acura considers this noise acceptable.

I purchased a 2015 Acura TLX Oct 2015. Day 1 of picking up the car it had a rattling noise in the speaker. I reported it to John Eagle where I purchased it and brought it back for service. Since then I have brought the car back 7 times to the dealership and they have not been able to fix. They will not replace the speakers or anything in the sound system. I have the car volume on a level of 3 and it still make that noise. If I turn the volume up higher you can hear the knocking noise from outside the car. The dealership finally had an Acura District Manager come out on 7/8/15 and know they are saying that they cannot fix the problem and there is no fix for the problem. They kept saying it is indicative of the type of car. The guy I am working at Acura corporate said he will get back to me which means I have to call him 3 or more time to get a response. The dealership admits that there is an engineering problem with the TLX but there is no resolution for it. If anyone has any advice or how to remedy the issue please let me know. Very frustrated that I worked very hard to get a luxury car and realize that I got better service when I had Ford, Subaru and a Honda. This my seventh leased vehicle, 4 Hondas leased and they are going to lose a customer that has had great history. So upset with the situation.

Its high class. Not a lot of work needs to be done because of the quality of the car itself. It offers Integra which I had myself. Then you have the sort ILX and MDX. Its a lot of sporty type cars with smaller engines to save games. It has different models. For example the base model is like an normal car, maybe power windows and a standard stereo. Then you have the different packages to go along with the car. It goes like any other car that a person would buy. Basic and then upper class and then the middle affordable one. It depends what you can buy on your budget. But if you are looking for space these cars are probably not the ones you are looking for. Maybe good for two or four people. But if you are looking to have more than four, dont even think about adding another person inside.

2008 Acura MDX rear cupholder - We had an issue with the rear cup holder not opening properly. It was getting stuck. We dealt with it for several months. Finally, I decided to bring it in. They said, It looks like liquid was spilled on it, and could not be fixed, needed to be replaced. I paid for replacement parts and labor. Within a few months, it was doing the same thing. I questioned if my original one was defective and, in fact, not my fault at all. I asked if they could please fix and have the part ready so I would not have to make the trip out there again since it takes at least 2 hours for oil change. When I got there, they said, It looks like someone spilled liquid in it; we will order another one. It will be a day or two. I was frustrated because NO ONE spilled on the new one. Now I had to come back again when I specifically asked so we could avoid this. Then I find online an Acura Service Bulletin stating there are issues with this. Several people have the same problem and bring it in to have it fixed under warranty. Now I am really frustrated. When I confronted the service rep, Charlotte, she said, Well, that could be a new bulletin. No, it is 5 years old. Why did I have to find this on my own? Why did they just keep telling me, You spilled liquid? I expressed my aggravation and stated that I wanted my money back for the first one that I should not have had to pay for. She told me to call Acura. I said, Im in Acura dealership; who do I call? She said, Call California. Seriously! Then the service manager came out and said, I am not replacing this one as it is sticky, as he proceeds to show me the outside of the housing unit, which clearly has no effect on the internal mechanism. Then he began to ask me to read the bulletin. After 2 new cars from there and 8 years of loyal service to them? I spent thousands on new tires, service appointments, new parts, etc. And I am left with, Call California. I am very disappointed and I will no longer service my car there. I will no longer consider Acura for any future purchases.

So they told me to call 888-234-2138 and press opt 3 to arrange for the rental. The person at opt 3 told me to call Sons Acura, so I called them back. Sons Acura then told me that they saw where I had requested the airbags to be ordered in back in July, but they were not in. They also said that Honda of America is wrong and they are not giving rental cars to those people with airbags that can kill them. I dont want your car anymore. I purchased my first Acura TL in 2002 as a leased car and then I purchased it since I was such a satisfied customer. To my dismay, my car is slowly showing signs of oxidation on the hood, rear trunk and front hood. To my surprise, I have noticed other Acuras on the road that are about the same age as my car and they too are showing signs of erosion in the same areas. This appears to be a manufacture defect. I plan to create a blog or use my Twitter account just to get a mass response from the over-public who have Acuras if they too are experiencing this problem. Before I did the internet probe I wanted to first check with you to see if you have received complaints about erosion occurring on your cars. Im told that Honda has a growing problem with cars that rust/erode based on poor construction. My car trunk leaks into the area where my donut is stored since day one. Thanks you for your attention to this. The cost for a paint job is in the several thousands.

Transmission problem at 101,*** miles - bought the car (2002 Acura MDX) used with 55k. Car was reliable until I saw my temp sensor trigger while driving on the freeway. I live in the desert so extremely hot temperatures are common. From what Ive read from former Acura mdx buyers is that transmission failures are common and inevitable. I made sure that the scheduled maintenance was performed to prevent the transmission failure. Im disappointed that even though my transmission had the oil jet kit that supposed to help lubricate gears inside I still have the transmission problem. Acura quoted me 4k dollars to fix it and my transmission specialist wants 3k. I feel like Acura should have these transmission replaced for free especially if you do your scheduled maintenance with them. Im going back to Toyota/Lexus.

I drive a lot. My salesperson knew this and I have purchase 5 cars from the same dealership in the past 4 years. I have always either purchased Hondas or Acuras. All from Wier Canyon Honda and Acura, Yorba Linda, CA. I purchased very recently a 2014 Acura MDX. My salesperson failed to let me know that the vehicle does not have a spare tire. I could not believe it when I found out. A tire inflator kit in the back of the vehicle will not help me if I have a blowout out on the 5 freeway between LA and Stockton. I will never purchase another Acura ever!!! The dealership told me they would only charge me $450.00 a spare tire kit instead of the normal $650.00 they normally charge. Really after 5 cars from Acura. I dont think so!!

Experienced total steering failure. Extremely dangerous, apparently a more wide scale problem and they don’t seem to care people could die. Upwards of $3500 to get it fixed! This is on a 4 year old upscale vehicle (Acura TL). This dealer (Hertrich Acura) especially does not care after purchasing 6 cars among me and family. Car was impeccably maintained but if you don’t service the vehicle at their overpriced garage you can forget it. It does have a 109k miles on it but that’s a break in period for other upscale brands! Very displeased for how Acura does not stand by their product and does not value a repeating customer. I have purchased 4 Acuras in the last 10 years and am sad to say I will not purchase another. In 2010 I bought a 2009 Acura TL and here recently in the past year I have had issues with the rubber seals around all the windows, windshield and around all moldings on the outside of the car. I have explained to the dealership and a customer care manager at Acura Care services what my issues are and that my car is garage kept away from all natural elements. The window moldings have completely melted away leaving an inch gap between the door frame and window on all doors which allows water to fall freely within the door. Also cold/hot air flows into the car due to this so having the air turned on high in either condition is a must. When Acura Care was contacted and a case was opened I was advised due to the cars age they will not help at all. I asked if the pictures that were taken at the dealership were looked at. They replied that no pictures were seen or sent by dealership but the decision has been made. They will not be able to do anything for me. I again said that it isnt like I have been tampering with the seals or weather stripping but it is literally melting away to the touch and flying off the car as I am driving, again no concern was shown by the Acura Care Case Manager. Again I have purchased 4 Acura cars but WILL NOT BE DOING SO AGAIN EVER. VERY DISSATISFIED AND SAD TO KNOW THAT ACURA DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! I have a 98 Ford F-150 that stays in the TEXAS heat 365 days of the year and have never experienced this or anything near this on it. Yes it is a 09 but just barely has over 100k miles on it and is garage kept. Product is faulty and ACURA knows that is why they dont stand by their product or value true customers.

Worst decision I have ever made!! I purchased a 2014 Acura MDX a year ago. The Heater in this car is absolutely awful! I live in Minnesota where below zero climates are very common. I try warming up the car (Heater on HIGH, Blower on HIGH) nearly 15 minutes in advance of driving it only to find the cabin temperature at about 50 to 60 degrees at best. While driving for at least 45 minutes, again, heater and blower on the highest setting it is still cold in this car. The driver side temperature is the worst. My feet are never warm. Ive noticed cold air coming in from the outside below by the Gas pedal, so the outside cold air flowing + the minimal warm air that is blowing from the so called heater = NO heat at my Feet!! Clearly a void in the design of this car. Ive also noticed when the car is idle at a stop the heater basically shuts down with only cool air flowing from the vents. Only when you accelerate the heat starts flowing, making it nearly impossible to warm up this car.Ive taken the car back to the dealer a half dozen times with no solution. The response I received from the representative last week when I returned with the same complaint was, Ive heard the heaters in these cars are not the best. Really??? It didnt occur to me when I purchased a $50,000 dollar car that I should be concerned if the heater was sufficient. I am so disappointed with this car. Really the only solution I have now if I want to be warm this winter is to sell this car. I can assure you the next car I purchase will not be Acura, Never, Ever!!!

I purchased a 2019 Acura RDX. EPA standards, it should receive 22 city/27 highway. I have curtailed my driving to TRY and get anything higher than 22 and am not able to achieve it. My commute is 30% city and 70% free traveling highway, so I should easily be able to consistently achieve 22. Currently, sitting at 20. I have read a ton of reviews and anyone that pays attention is complaining about the same misrepresentation of the MPG. Also, the Android Auto was a part of my sales pitch in November 2018. Its a little bit rough to drive, you feel every little bump on the road. 2.) Acura doesnt do anything special for the owners, prior to this I had 2 Lexus and when you go to the dealership to get your car serviced you are treated like VIP. You can wait for the car in a lounge where you can have in the morning free bagels, toast or danishes along with regular or specialty coffee, if its lunch time free water, juice or soda. They have nice comfortable leather chairs, desktop computers, iPads and large screen TVs. In addition to this if its going to be longer than a couple of hours they just give you a beautiful loaner. The power in the 2020 MDX Hybrid Advance is amazing, especially the torque at a start or moving onto a freeway. The Comfort Mode makes the ride smooth, but putting it into Sport mode and this car can move! The Expresso interior is beautiful and the interior is quiet. In fact, trying out other luxury SUVs, this MDX Hybrid is the most quiet. Great gas mileage. Only $1600 more for the Hybrid over the regular MDX Advance. Would recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing this car.

Our 2007 MDX was taken in for A/C evaluation. The A/C was repaired but then we were given a list of other items that needed attention: Drive Belt (glazing and cracking), Engine Coolant Dirty, Power Steering Leaking and required new pump, right front stabilizer Links needed replacing. Plus all fluids low and dirty including the transmission and brake fluid. After picking up the vehicle with just A/C service, I immediately drove it over to a reputable repair service that is AAA approved. The only item that would need to be replaced within the next 10K miles or so was the right front stabilizer Links. The mechanic showed us the power steering = no leak, the fluids = clean and full, and the drive belt was perfect. How do dealers get away with this?

I took my Acura MDX 2011 for its 1st service in Bellevue dealership. They checked and took the car into the service area. When they gave me the car back after service, there was a big windshield crack. When I asked, they said this commonly happens many times and my service manager will have to see and approve for the replacement. After 2 days, the service manager said that it happened before leaving the car for service. The guys said they did not notice it when leaving the car and noticed it after the car wash. This service manager is very rude - I cant replace it; it’s all your fault, he was asking me to claim insurance for this and saying thats what insurance is there for. When I said I will complain to the Acura Company, he said, Nothing is going to happen, do whatever you want. When I asked him to see the cameras, how it was before, he said, I dont have the time for all of this, and hung up the phone. I am thinking of going to a lawyer to handle this with that rude guy.

I have been unable to drive my 2020 Acura MDX for over five months because a replacement motor mount bracket is on national backorder with no ETA available. It is not available in the after-market or used. In desperation, I contacted the Acura Brand Officer for assistance in locating the part or at least providing an ETA so I could make a decision regarding a replacement vehicle. He referred my issue to Acura Client Care. The representative took my information and promised to call back in a week. He did not. When I finally was able to contact him again, he was totally unprepared to speak with me and said he would call back in another week. He did not.Apparently, this is not an isolated incident. Since then I have read many Acura customer service reviews and many Acura owners have cars sitting because they cant obtain replacement parts and Acura customer service has been unresponsive. Ive owned four Acuras and the decrease in quality and customer service is very disappointing.

I have 2015 Acura MDX which I purchased from a reputed dealer in Houston. 4 months after 4000 miles things were going really well.. This part of the ownership happy!!! Then one fine day, it started developing tick sound when the vehicle was flexing as I move on uneven road. Things started getting little worse as days passed by. I took it to the dealer. After 2-3 days, dealer came back stating they cant fix the car. Acura rep. will come down and take a look. In the process, Acura rep damaged my car now it needs to go to a body shop.Acura assigned me case manager, and they never called me. After 10 times follow up there comes new case manager. Now the new case manager is no different, he would not solve the problem. After continuous follow-up and close a month of agony someone from corporate called me to say they will fix the car, but now they cant replace it and in turn they would pay me 2500$ for all the hardship that I been through. A brand new car lost its value as it been to a body shop and it will show up Carfax. Why the customer has to take a hit for Acura reps mistake. But Acura cares less. Never Buy an Acura unless you want to be a unhappy customer like me. I am selling out my car with loss of 2000$ after getting a new PORSCHE!!! Just a heads up to advise one more dissatisfied Acura owner. I have an 02 CL with less than 61K miles on it. I have maintained the engine every 5K miles using only Mobil 1 synthetic and did a complete change out of tranny fluid at 47K using the recommended Honda transmission fluid. The other day I was driving down the 405 fwy in L.A. and the transmission surged (as in threw me forward in the seat) as though the transmission decided to drop into 1st gear and then back up to normal RPM range again. I knew something was really screwed up with the transmission so I maintained a constant speed until I got to my exit 4 miles down the road. When I exited the freeway, the transmission started revving up and down trying to find the correct gear, slipping along the way. Obviously something was wrong and I only hoped the tranny would last long enough to get me home.I contacted Acura Client Relations to see what concessions they might consider relative to repairing a meticulously maintained transmission with only 60K miles on it. I was advised to take it into an Acura dealership to have them diagnose the problem and they would consider the matter after further assessment. $150 later with no technical diagnosis other than a yeah, its screwed up and a $6800 estimate, I called Acura Client Relations back to plead my case. I was advised my Client Relations that the recall extended the warranty mileage to 100K (I think) but the age of the car was outside of their warranty period. I suggested that I could understand their not covering the stitching on a seat or crack in a dashboard but time shouldnt affect the functionality of a maintained transmission. To cut to the chase, Acura would not consider any compensation in this matter given the warranty period. When I asked them why they would direct me to pay a $150 diagnosis fee if they had no intention of picking up any of the associated costs, they said that if the problem was related to the 2nd gear recall they might consider sharing some of the expenses associated with the repair of the transmission but that would have to be determined by the dealership. I was denied even the $150 diagnosis fee they had directed me to incur. My issue is the complete denial of Acura assuming any responsibility for a premium vehicle meticulously maintained with a history of transmission problems. Acura obviously doesnt care about their customers or they would have at the very least offered to pay the $150 diagnostic fee I was directed to incur. The transmissions have had a sordid history of breaking down and you might expect some sort of compensation for a car with so few miles on it. Can anyone advise whether having the transmission rebuilt (outside of Acura with a quoted estimate of $2500) would assure a more reliable transmission... one that might last another 40K to 50K miles, or should I just bite the bullet and sell it for parts? One further question - can anybody refer me to a reputable transmission rebuild shop in the Los Angeles (South bay) area and how much should I expect to pay?

I drive an Acura MDX 2016, great car, and we are a family of Acura obsession. I met with an accident the first week of August 2021 and today it is December 9th, 2021. My car is at the body shop to date since Acura failed to supply the parts for repair (every time the date gets pushed for another month). I have called Acura customer support asking to speak to a supervisor for the past four months. Every time, I was told they were too busy or unavailable (are they unavailable or cowardly behavior by refusing the answer escalated concerns?). Requested for a follow-up phone call NOT an email. However, all I received was scripted generic mail for every call I made. Finally, today spoke to the supervisor, explained all the detail and all I hear is sorry. Now, I have paid over $9000 on rental. The only solution I have received is sorry from Acura. I would refer to Acuras supervisor’s customer service as a meaning of worst customer experience in the dictionary.

I am a huge fan of Acura as well as Samsung and anything about cars and electronics intrigues me. I own a TSX ACURA year of 2010, I am greatly in love with it. Acura has a nice sleek look that make it different from other cars on the road today in 2016. The best part about it that it is luxury but not too expensive, great running car and very dependable. Plus you can fit one person in your front seat and 3 in the back with enough seat belts for everyone. I like factory items on an Acura to keep it classy, however, I did spice up my TSX up with some custom wheels, black and chrome. They go great with the car and makes it look like a combination of sport and luxury. However, I have had an issue with the navigation system draining too much battery causing my battery to go dead frequently.

I purchased an Acura MDX on 4/4/2019 and purchased an extended warranty for it, which is supposed to provide coverage for electrical and mechanical failures in the car. In 2020, we notified our local Acura Dealer (Pleasanton, CA) about an issue we were experiencing. Whenever we remote started the car, the heated seats would no longer operate about 50% of the time. We took videos of this occurring, and the dealer was able to duplicate the problem. They said it was an issue that needed to be addressed by the corporate office, as there was nothing the dealer could do.I have spent the last two years going back and forth with Acura over this issue, and the matter remains unresolved. At first they said it was operating normally when it did this. They also said they hadn’t heard of this issue before. An internet search revealed numerous online complaints from other customers about this exact same issue. There’s even a service bulletin put out my Acura about this in August, 2017. Bulletin number BTS 161203 Version 3. It states that the front seat heater control unit was suspected to be the culprit.Acura has refused to fix this issue, so I requested a refund for our extended warranty, which we paid $2695 for. We are experiencing a mechanical/electrical failure of the heated seats to work properly, and Acura has refused to fix the problem. Therefore, we would like a refund for the extended warranty, which was purchased entirely for problems like this.

I bought my Acura 1 year this past November. My front tires look like this!! I have been through 2 oil changes (One this past November) and tire rotation, only for Acura of Memphis not to mention anything about an alignment. I asked to speak with a service manager and the rep sent me to Doris ** (I knew she wasnt a manager), who made me feel really bad. She said its my fault that I didnt get an alignment. Im suppose to get it twice a year (who does that? Who knows that?) She also asked if I read the manual for the service codes??? NO! When service due comes up, I go to Acura of Memphis. I thought this was a one stop shop, but it looks like I have to turn into a mechanic! When I bought the car, I was told oh yeah, oil changes and tire rotations 2x a year. Well according to Doris, its suppose to be 2 oil changes, 2 alignments, air filters, etc. Sounds like $1000 for maintenance 2x a year. Im stuck after 1 year, 30k miles, buying two tires ($244 ea and alignment $99).After writing the post above on Facebook, the General Manager, Clifton **, called me very upset. He stated that I post incorrect information. He also stated that Doris was indeed a manager, in which the website stated that she was a service advisor. Per Mr. **, she was promoted 2 weeks or 2 months ago. Mr. ** clearly wasnt trying to resolve my problem, but was very argumentative. I told him multiple times that my problem clearly isnt a tire problem, but an alignment problem. He totally ignored me and started reading some script talking about what Acura does for their customers. His tone was very negative and I dont ever care to speak with him again. I am not sure why a General Manager would call a customer irate. I have replaced the two tires and got an alignment. No help to Acura of Memphis or the General Manager.

I have been battling with Acura Customer Service for 2 months over a common problem Acura is ignoring: Bluetooth systems draining the car battery. I spent over two years having my battery regularly recharged or replaced, with the Acura dealer unable to diagnose the problem. I could not let my car sit more than one day without starting or the battery would be dead. I took it in several times and once paid to have a relay switch replaced, which did not solve the problem.I had lost use of my Bluetooth, but never connected the two, even though every time the battery was recharged the Bluetooth would miraculously work again for about 30 minutes... When I finally Googled 2007 Acura electrical problem I discovered lots of people have had this problem. Some had replaced their Bluetooth system and the problem recurred.Based on what I learned, had my Bluetooth disconnected. I contacted Acura Customer Service to complain about having to pay $100 to disconnect a system that has not worked for two years. Long story short, and after providing full documentation of my last two years of dealer, mechanic and AAA auto service, I was told that because Acura did not diagnose the Bluetooth system as the problem they could not help me. Ironic, eh? This problem has been occurring for years and by not diagnosing it they were not responsible for it. I must add I found Michael, the Customer Service person I spoke with, to be condescending and disrespectful (phone number 800-382-2238, extension **). Needless to say, my next car will not be an Acura.

Bought the Acura RL used with @30K miles. Had some factory warranty remaining plus I bought an extended warranty from Acura dealer and had car serviced regularly at that dealership. At @50K miles, the car developed a malodorous odor of burning oil, especially strong when parked in enclosed garage after having been driven. I suspected an oil leak dripping onto hot exhaust component and complained to dealership on each of three or four service visits while warranty was in effect. Dealership claimed they could not smell the odor or find any leak. On the next service visit AFTER the warranty expired, I complained again and dealership said the engines rear main oil seal was dripping onto exhaust causing odor and wanted @$1000 to fix it. Appealed all the way to Honda headquarters but was not able to get Honda to fix the problem which had been present and had been reported during warranty period. Leak has now reached the point to where it puddles on garage floor. In addition, on the same visit, dealership said front shocks were bad. Additionally, had five repeat problems with SRS system, and the fuel pump relay failed and stranded me at the grocery store with a car load of groceries. The car looks good and drives good, but it is unreliable, prone to breakdown and definitely not worth its cost.

I was very impressed initially with the car, it truly lives up to its reputation. I have been driving Acura for many years as my father did when he was alive. However, when it comes to customer care, I can tell you that the dealership fell very short. I had to replace the windshield due to a crack. Once the windshield was replaced, it then needed to be re-calibrated. When I contacted Center Acura, they told me that they were very familiar with this issue - no problem. It would take about 1.5 hours to do the job. Come very early in the am. So I did, to discover they could not calibrate the windshield because it needed a specialized silicone film first. They said, We will order this and call you next week, but should take a couple of days to get. They never called - two weeks later, I called and they said, We forgot to call you. I couldnt believe this since Acura is totally customer oriented.I rescheduled for this past Monday am - when I brought in my car, the service representative said, I will need to do extensive research on this. I replied, This is unacceptable. I had to leave because I was taking time off work. Several service department employees sent me emails and text messages asking me if I was satisfied with the service I received??? I promptly replied to all of them via email, text and phone calls. No one replied!!!I then ended up calling client relations. My case was assigned to a rep who I just spoke to. She listened but did not grasp the issue - the main issue is the lack of response to the customer. She perseverated about getting someone to do the work. I re-explained my position again, she ignored me and said this might be a good training issue for the dealership. In the meantime, I, along with my insurance company who offered to pay for this are attempting to locate a vendor who can do the job.

Upon purchasing my 2015 Acura TLX, I was not told that Acura and Apple iPhones do not play nice with each other. At the time I had an iPhone 5S and now have an iPhone 8 and neither work with my cars hands-free dialing. I have carefully entered contact names and voice tags into my speed dial list but when I speak the name John **, up comes a list of names starting with Mary **. Acura offers no fix. Quite the deal from a so-called luxury care.

2008 Acura TL - Worst vehicle I have ever owned. Acura does not stand by their product. Purchased new and dealer maintained. It has cost me thousands of dollars in repairs. Major wiring issue early on not covered by warranty. Accelerator pedal pump system went out 200 miles past warranty, called Acura hoping they would cover it in good faith but they could not care less. Now the transmission is really clunky. I have had so many problems with this car. Afraid every time I drive it something will go wrong. My 99 Ford Explorer with 182K mile has never had any issues. It hogs gas but is way cheaper than Acura repairs.

Absolutely terrible experience at Mission Viejo Acura. I was told that I can do all the paperwork for a lease online/remotely and only after they ran my credit did they tell me and my co-signer (who lives 400 miles away) that we would have to come into the dealership to sign the paperwork and take delivery. This during a pandemic where every dealership delivers cars to peoples homes. I dont understand the ridiculousness of this experience. How is this okay???

I own a 2011 Acura MDX and from past few months Ive been having issues with Bluetooth, stereo and leather is already tearing apart although being used very lightly (for just about 3 1/2 years). When I reached out to Acura client relations to see if they can be of any help as the vehicle was still under warranty, they showed deaf ears to me which is a big surprise to me. I wont mind if they dont want to replace my leather, but not listening to customers and not responding is a big RED FLAG. This is not the kind of customer care I expect for a luxury car brand. I owned Infiniti and BMW in the past and Ive always had nice experience with their customer care whenever Id to deal with them for any complaints/issues. This is my first and heck yeah my last ACURA for life.

We were able to see all variations and options at the dealership. A lot to choose from as far if color, size, and body type. We were happy with the choices and the decision we made to purchase. The vehicle was state of the art without being pretentious. We are not status symbol types and just wanted a quality car at a good price. It had sporty appearance which fit our personalities. We got what we wanted without paying over our budget. We are a family of three but always have more in our party. Also, always are hauling something. There is plenty of room for all and all occasions.

Just purchased the 2022 Acura mdx advance, has issues with body panels lining up properly, tried the have dealer fix it 3x with no success. Contacted the acura motor company customer service. They said they cant do anything to help with body panel issue, mdx cost 63k. For that amount I expected better service from acura and dealership. Dealer said thats the way it is, we cant fix the body panel alignment issues (really said I heard that from the dealer). We contacted the acura customer service and was told thats the way it is, I have to live with the body panel alignment issues front of the vehicle. On top of that the customer service spokeperson hung up on me. I guess thats what I get for spending $63,000 dollars on the poor looking 2022 acura mdx.. Never recommend acura to anybody ever for their poor service and cant fix their own product. Dont buy this vehicle and also on Youtube they also said 2022 mdx has body panel alignment issues, I should of listen to them and stayed away from this 2022 acura mdx, like a child put together. Hope this helps you out, thanks for reading my review....

I’ve purchased a used 2005 Acura TL with 69K miles on it. At 96K miles the transmission blew out, it was a $4000 bill to rebuild the transmission. My AC compressor had to be changed. The tension pulley had to be changed. The battery dies if the car is not turned on daily or in cold winter months (I live in Houston, we don’t have severe weather). It has a new battery and the alternator is just fine, we never could establish what the battery issues were. The car will lock you out since it automatically locks, the mirrors shift while driving. The dashboard has cracks. I happily sold the car to a junkyard for $500, I just couldn’t wait to get rid of it. I maintain my cars regularly and only put less than 20 miles a day on it. I didn’t expect all these issues with less than 100k miles on it. Never getting an Acura again.

The brakes in my brand new RDX have been squeaking since about a month into owning the car. It started happening when the weather got cold. The dealer replaced the rotors and brake pads but the noise is still there. Now Im told by the dealer and Acura Corporate that theres nothing they can do. What? How can that be? This is a $50,000 car and it sounds like a NYC Bus or an old beat up car. Its embarrassing. Apparently this has been an issue for a couple of years and had I known it I would NEVER have bought this car. How do you tell people who spend so much money that you cant fix squeaky brakes! I was driving on the freeway at about 60 MPH, keeping up with morning traffic on US101N, when my ACURA MDX 2011 suddenly stalled. I was pressing my foot on the accelerator but it would not go faster; in fact, it started slowing down. I was able to coast off to an exit, luckily, and then the car completely stalled, and would not start back up again. The dealership, Acura of Marin happened to be right there, and I had bought the car from them, Certified used, just 5 months prior. Although the service department was really great, and my car was under warranty, I sold the car back to them at a loss. Turned out it was a faulty/defective fuel pump. They called it bad; I call it defective. I was lucky that neither my children and I who were in the car, nor anyone else got hurt at the time of incident. No warning lights ever came on. Would not buy another Acura again.

Acuras are very stylish both inside and out and have a great technology package that makes driving much more productive and fun. Although theres not a lot of different cars that Acura produces, there are quite a few variables that go into each car, such as options. Plus they makes a variety of cars with differing sizes. I have the TLX which is a perfect size for my needs. I rarely have any passengers in the back seat but there is plenty of leg room for them when I do. I wholeheartedly recommend Acura as a great choice in cars. I would also strongly recommend anybody purchasing an Acura get the technology package because it provides an awesome GPS and sound system. It has very intuitive controls and easy to operate.

My family has been a loyal Honda customer for 30+ years and 6+ Honda cars. Weve loved their reliability and dependability. That being said, it is unfortunate that I have had a negative experience with most my recent vehicle. I drive a certified pre-owned 2012 Acura TL Tech Package, which I purchased in 2014. Since the purchase, the car has driven very well, showing no indication of any issues. Though I purchased this vehicle in a metroplex, I live in a rural area. I drive 60 miles round-trip to and from work. Last Wednesday, while driving on a rural highway between offices, the car lost all power without any warning traveling at 75mph. The RPM dial went crazy, and then the check engine lights flickered (check charge system, check ABS, check VSA). Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. I let it run, hoping it would stay on until I could get assistance. After about 5 minutes, it shut down completely. I was stranded in between 2 small towns on a rural highway with spotty cell phone coverage plus the inconvenience of missing work. I could not restart the car—absolutely no lights came on. Thankfully, I was able to contact a tow service to tow the car back to my house (28 miles away). I assumed the battery was the issue and replaced it, which worked for 5 minutes before it was completely drained. I live 350 miles from the nearest Acura dealer, so I had to tow it there. When I got it to Acura on Saturday, they ran diagnostics on the car and determined it was a faulty alternator, covered by my extended warranty and fixed the problem. My main concern with this situation is that there was no warning whatsoever to alert me of a problem. Had I been alerted, I would have acted proactively to prevent this from occurring, especially since I live so far from a dealer. I can only imagine how much worse this could have been had it happened in the middle of the night in this rural area, or if this happened on a 5-lane highway in a big city during the morning or evening commute. When I mentioned the lack of warning to the Acura service guy, he said, “Sometimes there is no warning on these things.” That is a problem. There should always be some form of warning before a relatively new vehicle is malfunctioning. Acura needs to determine why their vehicles are not warning the drivers of potential repairs for the safety of its drivers and all other drivers.

I purchased my MDX slightly used off dealer lot, it had about 6,000 miles. I have loved many things about the vehicle, however recently (once I had paid it off and warranty expired) my battery has died 4 times. Had alternator replaced around $700 min. Had new battery installed, but still died again. Now my navigation system says it is reconfiguring and if it isnt working in 10 minutes to take to dealer. Well, I cant afford to just run down to Acura every time there is an issue! The last time I brought it in, when I went to p/u my car wouldnt start! The side board was hanging off and remote key wouldnt work! They never offer loaner vehicles and overcharge everything. Now I have no navi. My check oil light is constantly coming on (oil is fine) and my key gets stuck in ignition!

I am faithful Honda buyer. Currently, I own a 97 Prelude, 08 Accord V6, 08 Pilot and a 07 Acura MDX. Of all these cars, the MDX has been the worst in quality. First, there was the left suspension that rattles at 12k miles. My dealership (Continental Acura of Naperville) took countless of trips to diagnose the problem; they replaced the whole front left suspension, rear left suspension, re-did the brakes and after 6 visits, it was determined that the battery holder was cracked. Now, the car has 33k miles and the oil sensor switch has malfunctioned. In all my years of owning cars ranging from 0 miles to 200k miles, this has never happened. My car is past the warranty, so I am out of pocket $230. However, if you do a bit of research online, Acura has had this issue with 07-11 MDX, but did not issue a recall on the system. I own a 08 Honda Pilot and I have never had any issues. If you are considering buying an MDX, I employ you to take a look at their cheaper sister, Honda, who has better service and quality. And if luxury is what you really want, then go check out a Lexus. This is not a biased view, but rather a fact from US News and World Report, Motor Trend and Edmunds. I also talked to a US rep (1-800-382-2238, if anyone else needs it). There’s no help on the matter, just an apology for the poor product.

I have been giving business to Acura since 2010 and I bought one TL, leased TL/RLX. You could say that I was a loyal Acura customer. Least as I had expected, Acura stole my money and screws me up. When I was leasing the 2014 RXL I signed out auto-payment via my checking account; for fear of continuing charges from my checking account. I asked my bank (Citibank) to stop the auto payment in November, 2015 and I had been sending checks every month since until I traded the 2014 RXL to 2016 RLX in May, 2016 in Acura of Westchester and as usual, the dealer pays off the remain value and I signed a new lease with Westchester Acura. So I thought, and you will think as well, that the 2014 RLX car is left behind me. Lo and behold, in July 2018, I received a letter both from Acura Financial services and collection agency charging me $1651.98. When I first called Acura Financial service, a man with British accent told me that I did not pay the last month payment (which is strange, even it were true that I did not pay the last payment, it would only be $825.99, not $1651.98). When I called them back again from my vocation on 07/31/18, Acura financial told me a totally different story -- Because Acura overcharged me 3 months (twice of $825.99), I called my bank and the bank reversed the overcharge. Now Acura wants me to pay extra money, when in fact that the dealer had already bought off the older car and I am under new lease over 2 years! Acura had overcharged me more than 3 months and only month even charged me 3 TIMES! That is stealing because by contract, I only authorized Acura to charge me once a month! Not only that Acura lying to me by saying that they had been trying to contact me during the past 2 years, which is the biggest lie in the world -- because I have never received any mail/call regarding the 2014 RLX until July, 2018 and I have been paying the monthly payment of the 2016 RLX every month. I called Westchester Acura and spoke with the General Manager who was angry as well and states that he will contact Acura Financial Services in the morning. Regardless what outcome it will be, I have lost trust and confidence towards Acura and would like to share this experience with you guys, especially the potential buyers -- stay away from Acura unless you want to be screwed up and potentially have your credit scores affected negatively and being bullied and discriminated like this! I plan to go to court if this matter is not resolved. Watch out giving business to Acura! Watch your wallet because Acura may steal from you like what they did to me!

Acura provides a number of different vehicles to choose from, from sport sedans to luxury SUVs. They offer mid to high range vehicles that are tightly tuned and a blast to drive. Acura vehicles all look very sharp, with trim features youd expect to see on a luxury car. The trim lines are sleek and the headlamps make the front end look stylish. However, they dont give a lot of options to upgrade, but most features already come standard. A technology package is usually available which usually gives navigation and a few extra bells and whistles. Depending on the model, you can expect ample interior space for passengers and cargo. Some of the smaller sport sedans may sacrifice rear leg room, but this is expected in this type of model. The SUVs are spacious.

I have been paying off my 2013 Acura Tsx since May of 2013. First of all, I put down $10k out of the total amount of 34k, which includes tax. I have been paying off $500 every month until it dropped to $477 a month. I may have missed a month here and there, but would make it up the next month. Now riddle me this, How do I still owe 18k? I have bank statements totaling up to 10k in payments. 10k monthly payments +10k down payment = 20k. 4.0 apr, results in what? About 2k so far? So if anything, I owe around 12k, considering my apr guesstimate is somewhat close. How in the world do I owe almost 19k? I know for a fact that 4.0 apr will not result in 7k after two years. Also, after missing my payment the second time, they canceled my online Acura financial account. Thats very smart of them to hinder my ability to make payments so that I have to pay through the phone with a surcharge fee. Im considering on lawsuit if they dont resolve my issue by 3/31/2015.

Acura has declined both with service and their cars. Katrina assumes she does favor for Acura customers but in reality if Acura customer never bought cars there will be no purpose for Katrina having a job. Vehicle Mileage: 17997. Description: I recently purchased (5/24/2017) a 2016 Acura ILX. Im very disappointed to say the least. This car is expensive and Doesnt even offer a satellite radio. Also when driving I cant access my phonebook to make calls. I have to pick up my phone to call a number. I can only use voice call to call 15 stored speed dial numbers instead of being able to say call whomever. Whats the purpose of hands free when this car doesnt offer that. Also the name doesnt appear when a call comes through. Even though the contacts are downloaded into the system. I had all of these options in my Elantra before trading it in on what I thought would be better for me. A mistake I made because clearly more money doesnt mean better. Could this please be fixed?? Im so upset about my purchase and wish I could trade a brand new ILX back in for an Elantra that offers better quality. The phone system needs to be fixed in the ILX. I wouldnt recommend this car to anyone. Thank you for your time. Ive actually reached out to the CEO and he forwarded me to a representative whom was NO HELP. I purchased 2018 Nissan Pathfinder (VIN Ending with XXXXXX) from Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ on Oct, 19, 2020. My Sales Rep was Luis. This vehicle had 62,009 miles when I purchased it and I was told on the day of purchase (Oct 19, 2020) that vehicle will have 1K Miles/30 days (whichever comes first) dealer warranty. On top of that I purchased Easy Care extended warranty. Everything was signed on Oct 19 and I took the vehicle home. After a few days, vehicle’s engine started making noises and it would release white smoke from exhaust. Assuming vehicle was covered under dealer warranty (1K miles/30 days), I brought it back to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ. On Nov 2, 2020 Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ technician looked at the vehicle and after diagnostic and test drive said it seems ok so drive it as is and if problem persists, bring it back. Obviously, problem did persist and I had to bring the vehicle back on Nov 18, 2020 to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ and they gave me a loaner to look bit deeper into the issue. Next day, Service dept manager Steve called me and said, I need to take the car to Nissan because they can diagnose it better plus since I have the extended warranty, it should be all covered. I didn’t agree given the fact dealer warranty was still good (1K/30 days) but they insisted they are an Acura dealership and they cannot diagnose Nissan vehicle. I took the vehicle from there to Nissan Dealership in Keyport, NJ. Once they looked at the vehicle and vehicle’s old records, they told me this vehicle was brought to 4 different dealerships for service since it had engine issue. They suggested I go back to the Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ and they should get it fixed since you are still under (1K/30 days) warranty. I came back to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ again before Thanksgiving holidays and let them know what Nissan Service dept was telling me and Used Car Sales Manager “Freddy” came out to help me. After discussing for over an hour with other managers in the back area, he came back and shown me a car fax and basically said “you see when a car is brought to me, we run a car fax but if there is nothing in the car fax report about the engine issue. We can’t do much about it because we don’t know about it”. Really? Well, what exactly is the dealer warranty for then? Anyhow, “Freddy” told us what he can do is, he can take the car back and let me pick something else. Basically a “trade” which of course comes with its own complications. After Thanksgiving, I was notified by Nissan Service Dept at Keyport, NJ that my Extended Warranty adjuster denied the claim because car had this issue before I purchased it from Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ. I, once again stopped by at the Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ on Nov 30, 2020. I met with Use Car Sales Manager “Freddy” again and after spending more than 2 hours he looked through few vehicles that could possibly work with my budget. He found 2017 RDX but when we presented the numbers they were high. I asked “Freddy” I know trade is not worth for me but how come Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ is not taking responsibility that I was dealt a bad hand and they should simply get the vehicle fixed as per the contract. I didn’t get any response to that and instead I was getting lame excuses like I was “cursing”. Fact is, he didn’t want to deal with the issue, he didn’t want to acknowledge vehicle that was not certified/was sold and now it’s my headache to deal with it. I am writing this let you all know what goes on when you purchase a used vehicle and how these dealers can treat you. Be warned.

Acura has many different styles of which I chose one that was underrated and I was correct about the style being underrated. I was luckily judging by the quality. This car has a great design on the steering wheel as well as fast working brakes which lead to a safe drive and this makes me feel safer at night or plain daylight. The upgrade is as amazing as rescuing a cow from a trapped low quality fence. It is always an amazing thing to look forward towards when it comes to cars. Plus this vehicle can hold up to 5 people at once. It can hold more if squeezed in or even if little children were to be put in.

I know it’s a huge review but please read it before you make a decision to buy Acura ILX! Maybe it will help you to change your mind! Since the moment I bought a brand new Acura ILX 2020 as a pleasure car in July 2020, I have already visited Prime Acura Dealership 10 times. The main issue – is a loud clunking noise that coming from the front side of the vehicle so you can feel it in the floor when tapping the gas while cruising and also from the passenger’s side and also hesitation while driving. All these problems occurred when the mileage on the car was about 3500 miles. To solve the issues, the dealership made a decision to replace the right axel (twice) and the intermediate shaft. They unsuccessfully tried to resolve the issue with the noise two times. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem the 3rd time, they told me that the noise is actually a normal characteristic of the vehicle. When I asked them why it was considered abnormal before and now it became normal, the mechanic told me that he didn’t know this particular model very well at that point. When I tried to look for a help in the other dealerships, I had received the same answer – the noise is the normal characteristic and the car is acting as designed. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem (it was my 6th time) the mechanic with more than 20 years of experience at Acura, who did a test drive, told me that the main reason of the noise could be transmission defect and that, possibly, there is a transmission replacement required. But after couple days of working with my car, the manager of the dealership got back to me with the answer that the car is acting normal. I have a camera in my car that recording 24/7, and the moment where the mechanic mentioned the transmission defect was recorded. But when I came home and check my recordings, I found out that that particular piece is missing. I have never had any issues with my camera before! Unfortunately, nobody from the dealership was able to explain me how that happened. To my great luck, I forgot to switch my clock to winter time, and because of that I have all the videos that I thought have been deleted. I decided not to give up and made an appointment with the engineer at Prime Acura. I requested a joint test drive with him, but at the dealership they told me that this is impossible because of the COVID-19. It was weird to me, because they allowed joint test drives with the mechanics but no with the engineers. When I realized that nobody at Prime Acura wants to help me, I went to the independent licensed mechanics who confirmed that the problem exists –“ there are hesitation during acceleration and thumping noise during up shifts, problem is indicated as internal transmission or TCM programming issue”. It was exactly the same words that the mechanic at Acura said to me before they changed their minds. One day I couldn’t start my car, because the battery died (Brand new car!). I had to ask my husband to jump the car and rafter that I went to the Prime Acura right away. The mechanic performed the test and told me that the battery died because it was defective. They replaced the battery, but 3 weeks later I found out that my camera was not recording in the parking mode, although it was before the battery was replaced. The mechanics who installed the camera told me that the battery voltage falls below 12 volts and the camera stops the recording. I came back to Prime Acura to ask what battery they installed, because before the replacement there were no issues with the camera whatsoever. The answer that I received was the power capacity of the battery is small and the camera is too heavy for it. When I asked them why it never happened to my old battery they just tried to avoid to answer the question and only repeated that the battery is too small.I tried to look up the problem and found a few articles about the camera, stating that the camera can’t kill the battery. I sent those to the Prime Acura rep. I just wanted to get answers on my questions but instead I received very rude email from him where he says that he doesn’t want to continue the conversation. Bottom line, I haven’t seen worse customer service that was provided by Prime Acura. They haven’t fixed my problem, they haven’t shown any desire to help or at least sympathy and respect towards me as the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to buy Acura ILX! This 26k purchase only gave me a huge headache and a lot of stress, humiliation and prejudice of my customer and human rights. Acura doesn’t stand by their product or does the right thing by the customer! The actual quality doesn’t comply with stated, car warranty is nothing but a joke and the “premium class” is just a dial tone.

We have owned many vehicles and we decided to give Acura a try mainly because we liked the body style and Hondas reliability. Worst mistake we have made in a long time let alone a very costly one! The car performs alright but the $5000.00 upgrade for the technology package is a sad story. The dealership along with tech experts there can barely explain its functions. Been there several times after reading the limited information in the manual and each time it takes three of these geniuses to solve one issue. They say to play with it but if trained personnel from HONDA CANT do it how is the consumer supposed to? Very unfriendly compared to other makers. Dont make our same mistake.

I am very happy with the variety of cars Acura had to offer. Lots of good choice and models to suit my buying needs. I would definitely buy another car from them in the future. You can choose the color of the paint on the exterior as well as the color of the leather that resides on the inside of the vehicle. Supremely awesome!!! They have heating, power steering, anti-lock brakes, Sirius CM, good windshield wipers, heated seats, stick shift or manual transmission. I can also fit my Wifey in the passenger seat and my 13 year old in the 2nd row as well as my 10 year old in the /he row as well as a whole bunch of luggage in the trunk.

I have a 2010 RDX that I bought certified pre-owned. Just had my first oil change. Price shocker... What oil change costs $200??? In looking at the bill, $147 is for labor. The service also included a tire rotation which still should not cost that much. In addition, I waited an 1 1/2 for the car. What oil change takes that long?? I contacted another Acura dealership and was quoted a lower price for the same service. So far, Acura is horrible. The car came back with more dirt than it had when I brought it in. First Acura, Last Acura.

With a variety of models to choose from, I have found Acura to be the car for me. Their cars are designed with a sleek look, are fuel efficient, and are safety tested to ensure that the vehicle is road ready and safe to drive. In my car everything is digital and easy to see. Not only will the cars appearance draw attention, the inside was designed to provide the customer with a sense of pride for owning a Acura. Plenty of leg space to provide comfort for the driver and all occupants who ride along. With a sleek and sexy design these cars should be the most cost efficient vehicle on the road. I believe there is a body style to fit anyones preferred taste in appearance.

2011 Acura tsx. Worst riding car Ive ever had. First and last Honda Ive ever/will ever own. Interior rattles everywhere from the time it was new. Cheap thin paint on front of car - looks like its been sandblasted. Im easy on my cars. This was a daily driver with mostly Highway miles. Transmission went out at only 75k. Never had trans problems with any car Ive ever owned. From what I hear, this is typical. Honda transmissions are some of the worst made. GM and Toyota are best. Oh well, you live and learn. Hope this review helps someone NOT buy an Acura or Honda.

We had leased our Acura MDX through a local Acura dealer. The experience was fair. The showroom tries to portray the brand as a true luxury car, but most salesmen seems fast-paced, with the typical gimmicky talk and cheap suits. The Service was even worse. Anytime the car would require scheduled maintenance, they always tried to upsell us on things like Automatic Transmission fluid change, stating it was very dirty (after only 8,000 miles?), despite the fact that the maintenance schedule doesnt require this fluid change until 20,000-40,000 miles. Filter changes are also their favorite, stating that theyre very dirty and its bad for the vehicle.I never got the impression that the Acura brand is synonymous with luxury, unfortunately. Just a dressed-up Honda, and this trickles down all the way to how they sell and service these vehicles. The car itself has a few, very annoying issues. For one, the front windows are extremely loose, and when opened even slightly, rattle beyond belief. Acura Service techs state this is how theyre designed, and that its normal. It pretty much renders driving around with windows lowered impossible, and from the sound of it, Acura owners have gotten used to it. After almost 3 years, were still struggling with getting used to it.The infotainment is brutally slow. If you click on Settings or any other option, it often takes 2-3 seconds for the screen to refresh and show the desired information. Having rented a BMW X5, or even a Volkswagen Touareg, the computing power of their infotainment systems is much more up-to-date and intuitive. The interface design on the infotainment touchscreen buttons is also very primitive. Like something youd find a first-grade graphic design student do. Certainly not the luxury experience theyre selling.Overall, the exterior is neat, slim, with touches of chrome here and there. The interior is also nicely done. I am surprised as to why the third-row seats do not have A/C vents (like the Honda Pilot, which sells for considerably less does). The power liftgate has failed us more than once, and the remote engine starter oftentimes just stops working, requiring me to manually disconnect the battery to reset everything. Ive given-up taking the car to the dealer for every little nuance. Driving-wise, the car is light and responds well to steering input. Power is adequate, and AWD system performs remarkably well. Despite all of this, we wont be leasing another Acura again. We feel that too many corners have been cut, and not enough attention to detail has been paid to areas that really need it to qualify this vehicle as a luxury one.

After 5 years of being a faithful customer, when I bought out my lease the numbers were all over the place, I suspect intentionally. I suspiciously could never find a clear summary of the payoff amount, taxes charged, and all other fees on my account, and when I called for them to clarify they didnt seem to know. I was given a payoff amount, but a higher amount was deducted from my account. Not ok.When I received the signed bill of sale and title it showed that theyd taken almost $1400 more than the bill of sale said I should have been charged. I immediately opened a case on the transaction with my bank and call Acura. It took several weeks before they got back to me and when they did instead of apologizing and fixing the problem and refunding my money, they dared to argue with me and give me attitude. They admitted they made a mistake on the signed bill of sale so they wanted to send me another one for a higher amount. Every time I pointed out this was their error and not really my problem she corrected me with the word typo lol, and then went so far as to accuse me of trying to take advantage of a lower price! I couldnt believe what I was hearing. Aside from the fact that the bill of sale was binding, I explained I already used it to transfer the title and other things, so theres no going back now...She still just argued and accused me, she even said I should have called them to verify the bill of sale amount! Even though the Bill of sale is binding! What world is this? Honestly their defensiveness makes me wonder if this wasnt all an intentional scam. If it was really just an error then when the shoe is on the other foot and they stand to lose money, they really wont stand for it, will they. Funny how that works. Even when I told her Id already spoke to a lawyer she still got defensive and argued with me. There is no point even talking to them obviously they will not fix their problem, I regret ever buying from Acura. Check and DOUBLE CHECK ALL your numbers with them (especially sales tax!!)

This car is overall the best car I have ever had. The mileage is great and the amount of gas is great also. I only would have to put in $20 a day for gas for anywhere I go as long as it was in my radius. It had built in wifi and the amount of gas is the best out of any of the cars I have looked at. It has a lot of room for many of my friends. The interior is nice too, although it should have came with tinted windows because it would look way better. Also, I do not like the price I pay every month for the payments of the car. It could be a little lower.

I have just recently purchased a new 2016 MDX and currently have 3100 miles on the vehicle. I have some major concerns in which I am very worried about. I just went to the local supermarket for a few minutes went back to my car and tried to start it up. The transmission seemed to be locked into place the brake was very hard and the car would not start. I tried to start the vehicle up three times and it would not move. Eventually I called my husband and he came down, got into the vehicle and it started. Yet when I reached my home the event started again. Also the transmission seems to be jolting as if it is going in and out of gear. Another concern is that when it is cold sometimes when I turn the wheel to the left, it is as if there is not enough fluid where it is very rough. I had a CRV before this vehicle with 90 000 miles and I never had an ounce of a problem. Yet I have owned Mercedes vehicles and Audis and I thought they were problems. I hope this MDX does not top the German cars.

Acura RDX has been a very dependable vehicle until recently. We started having a water leak come from behind the windshield. It took a week for the Acura dealer to figure out where the leak was coming from. Also, when I drive over any bumps, it has always made a rattling noise and its annoying! I wish that I purchased a Toyota RAV4 instead. Even so, I like the way the vehicle handles on the road and the comfort of the seats. It also has plenty of storage. I felt this vehicle was a good value as well.

I took my car in because of a noise I heard in the right wheel well. It seemed like brakes to me. Marin Acura told me it wasnt the brakes; my brakes were fine. The front read 4 and the back 5. I asked if we should replace the front and they said No. I said, I dont want to have to come back in a few thousand miles to replace the front brakes. And they said, Dont worry, you have a lot more than a few thousand miles to go on them. It turns out the front brakes needed replacement immediately. Their diagnosis was completely incorrect. When the brakes were measured again, the front were at 0 and the back were at 6. In other words, the front were completely worn out, and the back had more left than Marin Acura had diagnosed. Dont take your car to Marin Acura for brakes, or for anything else, for that matter.

Dealership totaled my car while in for repair and tried to hide it, they tried to pay me off not to leave reviews. 9/5/17 I received a call from the service department saying my car was involved in an incident at the shop that they had found that morning. I was told that they were unsure the extent of the damage at that time. I sent my mom down to get important papers out of my glove box as I was unable to get there. When she arrived, she found someone still working on the car and she opened the glove box to it full of water rushing out like a fish tank being dumped over. The next day I went down to the dealership to see my car myself and speak to management. We met with George who promised to bend over backwards to help me.I was continually pushed aside and treated like I was a nuisance. Once their insurance finally claimed it a total loss (over a week later) I then was left to do all the work, I had to fight for 104 days to get my car paid off. This was daily calls and emails and hundreds of hours of work. When it came time to get me into a new vehicle I was shuttled back and forth between salesmen (who were all friendly but couldnt help) and the 2012 that was comparable to my MDX was sold before I could get there to see it the next morning. I was hopeful theyd cut me a great deal on a replacement vehicle for all Id been through but alas all I got was a lousy $1000 off the price (something anyone could haggle down) and still paid over blue book, and 15% off floor mats and I had to pay for moldings to be put on to cover all the scratches on the passenger side. To get the $1000 off I had to fight for $250 of it and was told by Gene **, Fine if its a fight over $250 Ill do it just to get you done and out of here. He was incredibly rude to me and honestly I shouldnt have proceeded with the purchase of the new car especially since the only viable option was a 2015 MDX that now costs me an extra $150 per month and I had to start payments all over again.Once my car was paid I reached out to the dealership to try to work out some compensation for my time and losses like new tags, paying double insurance while I fought to get my car paid off, and interest accrued during that time. I sent a certified letter to George, and Gene called me in return, I asked to hear from George who refused to contact me and I never heard from again. I then put a complaint in with the BBB because I was receiving no response. George blank told the BBB they bent over backwards to help me and there was nothing more they could do.I then contacted Acura corporate directly (who were wonderful by the way) and they couldnt believe how I had been treated and they tried to help me. They arranged a call with the dealership which was between me, Acura and Gene. Gene again was not very friendly in his tone and took no responsibility for what had happened. His apology is, We are sorry this happened, and that WEVE had to deal with this. He finally offered me some compensation for my loses. $1000 with the stipulation that I leave no negative reviews and do not discuss the dealership negatively. And 3 years free oil changes (no way would I bring my car back to them).I refused his offer because I believe people need to know that while I was fighting the insurance I found out from their own tech and from their incident report I had to collect, MY CAR WAS ACTUALLY TOTALED 4 DAYS PRIOR TO THEM CONTACTING ME AND THEY TRIED TO HIDE IT!! Ive collected thorough documentation on all the events that occurred, and it is now my mission to warn people about this dealerships poor business practices. There are good people that work there that if they could have would have helped me more; these people are Bob **, Chris ** and Matt in sales.

I called Acura/Honda goodwill department and received a callback today saying it would cost $3600.00 but they will give me a discount and I can pay only $750.00. I have a 2012 Acura RDX with technology package and only 24,000+ miles on the vehicle. I financed the vehicle in May of 2015 at the end of my 3 year lease and purchased Acura Care for over $2,000 should anything go wrong with vehicle to make sure it is still under warranty. Needless to say, the positive end of the battery cable became so eroded that the cable became loose and was very thin. I have kept up with the regular maintenance but for whatever reason, the battery terminal was never serviced by the technician. The car could not start and I thought the battery was dead. I purchased an after market battery and drove it to Acura dealership on Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn, NY so they could diagnose the problem. It was determined that the cables could have been eroded by environmental factors and the battery needed replacement. Acura replaced the battery since it was still under the 4 year or 50,000 miles original warranty but they stick me with the $400 replacement cost of the battery cable since it is not covered under the original warranty nor under Acura Care. I find this outrageous, since a premium vehicle should not have its cable corroded in less than 4 years. I told the Customer Service case manager that I also have a 2006 Toyota Rav 4 with under 47,000 miles and have never had any issue with the battery cable. They keep referring to environmental factors as a result of the corrosion and therefore not covered since that is not a defect in the cable itself. The car is driven in Brooklyn over 95% of the time with a few trips to CT and 2 trips to Montreal, Canada. The cost of a new premium car, Acura Care for $2000+ and now $400 for battery cable replacement for a vehicle that is not 4 years old yet. Please advise if anyone else has this issue with Acura. They should be held liable for inferior accessories.
